Best Western Plaza Hotel Zwickau

We stayed in this hotel for two nights (interrupted by one night). The first night we stayed was o.k. We had the family room, which is basically two rooms connected by a door. One of the rooms has a small kitchen, the other one the bathroom. The bed in our bedroom was ok, the bed in the other bedroom was a collapsable couch with a lot of squeaking and creaking if the person lying in the bed just turned around. In our room the window could not be opened (which played a major role the second night). We were disappointed about the sauna. We had selected this hotel especially for the sauna since we like to use this after a day of sightseeing. Imagine our surprise when we found out that we have to pay extra for the sauna. Could not find this in any of the hotel descriptions. When we arrived on the second stay we got the same room, but we were really shocked when we entered our room. It stank of cigarette smoke. Whether someone chainsmoked in the room or whether the AC did something wrong we don´t know, but it really stank to high heaven. Unfortunately no other room was available for us. Breakfast is ok, dont miss out the Trabant in pristine condition standing in the lobby. Location is good for a trip to Zwickau

We visited our family and booked a room for two nights . stay was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Also tried the breakfast buffet , the a la carte dinner and cocktails. - all to recommend. Pricing very reasonable.

We stayed here for 3 nights when visiting the MotoGP at Sachsenring. The hotel is a bit remote from the city, but their restaurant (owned by a Greek family) makes it SO worth staying here! We had both the breakfast buffet (=fantastic) and dinner all nights. Just delicious!! The hotel and rooms are good, but nothing special. The only downside is the level of English.. not even the staff in the reception had an ok level of English.

Check in member of staff was very, very friendly and helpful. Room wasnt that cheap, but breakfast was included. Room basic, bottle of water was free in the room, which is refreshing after a long day on the road. Little chewy sweets on the pillows, a German tradition (They are made there!). Would go again, but try getting a better price next time. As mentioned, breakfast was good,yummy, coffee and Fresh Orange was nice.

This is a very clean and nice hotel with no bad surprises. Nice staff and great service with breakfast 7-11 and restaurant open til 23. I got a room facing the road an you could here the cars passing but it didn't bother me. Well worth the money.

Fantastic price/offer ratio. In the junior suite that we booked we had two big rooms with a small kitchen and a huge, very comfortable beds. Two big tv's. Very nice and friendly staff, speaking English too. Close to a highway. Comfortable parking. Pretty good breakfast.

Situated on outskirts of city, reasonable parking, efficient reception which also features a Trabant on show, clean and tidy room, not large but big enough bottled water provided, good shower and bathroom, double was 2 singles together, only downside was very strong dog smell in lift which I suppose is unavoidable if they can stay.

I went there in November 2016 for a few days when my brother got married in Zwickau and my boyfriend and I enjoyed our time there a lot, the breakfast was great and the room was spacious and beautiful. The bed was so huge and comfortable, we loved it. The ladies at the reception were very kind and helpful. The only negative point is the location, it is hard to reach by public transport and very far off the real city center of Zwickau. Anyhow, we know that this is nothing the hotel can change. Thank you for a great stay!

Stayed there for a week in December. Good hotel. There is lovely greek restaurant. Very expensive, but the food was very good. Lovely personal for a breakfast and dinner. No problem with gluten free option. Room nice and clean. No carpets in the room. Pet friendly.

Despide the location which is outside the city center, this hotel is not bad. The parking is usually OK. The reception is very friendly. Even I had a fee of charge beer offered to be taken at the bar. The room I had is very very nice, I like it. The room and the bed is very confortable. At the same level of my room, it was a sauna, which is good opportunity. Good point, the bar is open relatively late, this is not bad for a last drink before go to bed. I will be back.

Hotel itself is OK: the welcome is friendly, rooms are decent and clean. However, parking is problematic, there just doesn't seem to be enough space. But the thing that puts me off the most is the fact that the whole of the ground floor smells of cigarette smoke. There is a large smoking room opposite the bar and is right next the breakfast room/restaurant. It stinks. Not nice.

My wife and I stayed one night and found the accommodations to be very nice. The room was spotless and the staff was very pleasant. We needed a late checkout and it was granted without any pressure to pay extra. Got an online deal for €48.50, and if I had payed double that, it still would have been worth it. We ate at the restaurant and it was average in terms of quality however the friendly service was very much appreciated. The breakfast was included in our deal and was a typical German breakfast buffet which I found to be very delicious.

We really enjoyed staying here. The only down thing was that those days were the hot days of the year. And the rooms have no air-conditioning. Also there is no fan in the bathroom and for the women among us. The mirror next to the door doesn't have good enough light. When it comes to the hotel itself. There is plenty of free parking, the staff is friendly, the restaurant next to the hotel is good. The Greek family running it are very friendly, everything is possible. Nothing is of a worry to them. And... The food is good. So in general, once you've worked out how to keep the room cool and how to get ready in the morning, it's a nice place to stay for a couple of nights.

The Hotel was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Some street noise but bearable. Heard my first Kuckuck in the early morning! Easy parking. The Estia Restaurant was awsome! Invited friends staying at another hotel for dinner at OUR hotel because they said the food was horrible at the hotel where they were staying. They enjoyed the dinner and said next time they will stay with us here at the Best Western. I would like to mention Georgios Ourtzanis ...he is a great host!

The hotel location is not perfect as it is 3 km from the city centre, which is the only negative that i can tell about the hotel. The room is big and clean, bed is comfortable, the restaurant is good and they kept it open till midnight just for us. The price of the room was incredible good although the breakfast was not included and 9.50 for it sound a little bit pricy but they had huge variety of food.

From outside the hotel is not impressive it also has an interesting interior at the lobby but the rooms are definitely nice and well-equipped: we had free bottle of water, coffee making possibility, flat screen TV, free wifi, the bed was comfortable. Bath was nice and clean. And for this like 80€ at New Year's Eve is more than reasonable. And it was not even loud! We can recommend. Front office service is friendly and smooth.

Very friendly and helpfully staff, big and clean room, good breakfest, goor restaurant, free parking and Internet,family welfare. You have to travel by car if you have chosen this hotel because it is located out of the city. We had a great stay. Unfortunately, lack of air conditioning.

All was very good - personnel were very willing and pleasant , cleanness on high level, services on high level, meal in restaurant was delicious. There was no unpleasant noise. Excellent quality for very good price. I was really satisfied.

Located on a BUSY, very noisy street, internet was sporadic at best & we couldn't get it in our room at all. Expensive food (We ate at a bakery down the street). Our room was so hot we had to keep the window open - didn't get much sleep due to traffic noise. Would not recommend this hotel.

Disappointed hotel website reported they had restaurant but on arrival no restaurant staff reported would be open in August, spent 100 euros on taxis to go our for dinner each evening. Has 4 star rating but no tea or coffee in our room, no safe, no mini bar. Bottle of water half bottle left in room from previous occupier had to ask twice for this to be changed. Rooms on other side of corridor had tea, coffee also safe and mini bar. Room first level near to road very noisy did ask to change but told no other room available Room was clean but very hot, breakfast nothing outstanding and paid 12 euros per day for this. Some staff were more helpful than others The price may have been 4 star but definitely would not rate as 4 star

Plus points: good breakfast, large room, Negatives: internet was slow & often disconnected, very uncomfortable bed, bar & restaurant is separate to main hotel & you cannot charge anything to your room, room was very hot despite radiators being turned off & window open & cold outside !!!)
