    « Nice Place »

Part Business and visiting old friends the hotel was located near the center of town, so was convenient to get around. We stayed in the building behind the main structure which was very quiet. We had no problems with our stay and would stay again.

    « Nice Gem! »

We decided to stay here on a whim and they took dogs. (It's getting harder to find a nice place that takes animals.) They put us in a king room with a sliding glass door that opened up to a fenced in pet area. I was beyond thrilled with this. I have never seen this at any other hotel I've ever stayed at and as a matter of fact most hotels do not even have a pet area. The room itself was really pretty nice. It was clean, smelled fresh, and very comfortable. The bed had ample soft pillows and the sheets where really really nice. I wouldn't mind owning a set of the sheets, actually. While the bed itself is a little on the hard side for me , my husband liked it just fine. The shower was nice and tall which my husband really liked since he is 6'6". It wasn't the most powerful spray but it was a good shower. We did not stay for the breakfast but did go check it out. The room is pretty small and was packed when we got there. It looked like a nice basic breakfast and the eggs and bacon did smell good. All in all, it was a really nice comfortable place to stay and we will stay again as we travel from Southern California to the Seattle area several times a year. And to top it all off the gal that checked us in the the evening of the 7th of April was super nice and friendly and the gentleman on the morning of the 8th that checked us out was equally enthusiastic. It's so nice to have great customer service and people talk to you like you are a friend not just a nobody! Good job Best Western for hiring good people.

« Nice quiet place to stay. »

We have stayed here before and it's a nice quiet hotel. We did experience an issue with the room heater as it would not turn on or off with the thermostat. Also the water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low. We've never had problems here before and did note there is some renovation occurring here. Problems were reported to staff.

Loved this place. Feature for us seniors - tri-lights BOTH sides of the bed for reading. Fabulous Chinese restaurant close by. Large beautiful room. Staff excellent. Cookies & coffee in lobby. Good selection of breakfast items

    « Good location »

If Yreka is your destination or just a stop over, it is good because of the location, it is easy to find once you exit the highway, our room is big with two beds, breakfast is simple but good enough to start the morning.

    « Great hotel! »

This is a very comfortable and clean hotel. We travel with our dogs, and the pet rooms here are great, with sliding glass doors opening to a fenced lawn area. They even have dog bags and trash cans there to make cleanup easy. We will stay here again!

    « Dog Friendly & Clean »

We were hopscotching our way south from Portland after picking up our new Golden Retriever puppy. We normally wouldn't stay in Yreka but our plans were to drive 4-hour intervals and that put us in Yreka. We chose the Best Western Miner's Inn and our we glad we did. We arrived early afternoon and the place looked empty. Nevertheless, we checked in. Our positive experience began with the young man that checked us in. He was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. He also explained that the Inn was under new owner/management and that they were trying their very best to make guest comfortable and satisfied. We were able to park right outside our room and the dog area was on the opposite side of the parking lot. Very convenient. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our dog carrier. The room was spacious and clean. It also contained a small refrigerator and microwave. The Inn looked and felt well cared for and we would stay here again without hesitation.

« large quiet property with good breakfast »

good place for biz travel with great full breakfast - best scrambled eggs for BW, fresh, moist, fluffy- good breads, waffle, cold foods and drinks. goes to 930 so fine for sleeping in. very nice front desk staff pm and am, good close by restaurants walking distance, easy on/off to I-5

    2
    « NOT BEST WESTERN »

No way to control warmth in bathroon/sink area. It is on outside wll; it was freezing outside an so the area, separated from bedroom area, could not becontroled. Bad value for price other motels in area provide same services at lower rate.

    5
    « Fishing trip »

I spent one night before to go fishing. Nice place where you can spend one night or more. Nice service and very clean. Plenty breakfast with everything. The hotel is very quiet. Parking in front of your room.

« A perfectly satisfactory crash pad enroute to Southern California »

After 12 hours behind the wheel I was happy to find this clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay. I wasn't looking for anything more than a bed and it delivered. The room was actually quite large. I'd guess 400 sf. The furniture was a bit dated but everything was clean and comfy. It is well located right off the highway and adjacent to a heritage downtown area. The price was very reasonable

    3
    « Quiet, friendly »

Got a room at far side of complex. Very quiet, which is essential for me. Older establishment but staff very friendly and breakfast was exceptional. They could use some better vacuums. Carpet was in bad need of cleaning. Rooms are very large.

    3
    « Older but clean »

This was an older motel and we were placed around the back . It is almost like two motels. We were told to leave the parking lot ( after driving past all the empty rooms) and drive put on the street, down a block and pull into another motel unit. It was very strange and we had our bikes on the back of our truck so we're not overly impressed with having nobody else back there but us , with poor outside lighting. As it happened another couple of cars did show up around 9:00 pm. When we hooked up to the wifi we saw " budget hotel" pop up as a wifi connection and wonder if that is what we were in. It was an older room but clean. Beds were just okay. Our card holder for the room key was hand made and when I asked if they had run out , the not very friendly front desk gal explained they make them to save money. The breakfast was included but they only offered expired yogurt, the usual cereals, some REALLY horrid looking scrambled eggs that nobody ate while we were there but the gal continued to add more on top of the old ones, sausages and waffles. Not much fruit was available. This hotel was no bargain and obviously the manager is very frugal . We understand trying to save money but offering expired yogurt is a little overboard. Will not stay there again.

    « Excellent for price »

This quiet clean large well run Best Western is a truly excellent value. Clean bathroom with low bath and sturdy safety rail. Breakfast is usual stuff cold items fine, but eggs and sausage below par, breakfast room a little tight. Could not hear the I 5

    « Christmas Travel »

Booked through TripAdvisor. Reservation was ready when we got there and we didn't even have to ask about a first floor room as Tiffany seen we had children with us and put us on the quiet side and on the first floor. Will definitely stay here again.

    « Great sleep »

I am a returning customer because of the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the bed, excellent linens, triple sheeting, coffee in the room and breakfast in the morning,( though the breakfast room is pretty small). The staff is very courteous and helpful.

    4
« Great location in Yreka »

Great location short walk to historic downtown with a couple of nice restaurants. Older facility but well maintained. Real scrambled eggs for breakfast and a waffle maker. Very clean with comfortable beds.

    5
    « Pleasantly surprised »

The cleanliness of the room and the customer service makes this inn a great pick. We didn't book ahead as we usually do, so we relied on the Best Western affirmation in hopes it would be a safe place to rest our weary traveler heads.

    2
    « cleaner rooms »

We have a habit of checking the beds whenever we stay at any hotel. In the first room the mattress pad had a large urine stain on it, we went to the office and we were given new room. It had a large dark stain on the mattress. My wife went to the office and explained that if they would give us a clean mattress pad she would change the dirty pad in the first room it being better than a filthy mattress. The girl behind desk called the maintenance man who said that there were no extra pads available. So we moved to a third room , this one was OK but dusty. We will never stay there again We can't believe AAA gave this hotel a good rating!

« nice place, would stay again »

good location off I-5, easy walk to local fav diner, bar, mini mart, downtown. best section is sept bldg. in back, away from main entry, quiet, very large K rooms. ask when making rez for this first. frig w/o freezer, had to turn full up and lean icepaks on back wall to keep frozen. nice front desk staff, helpful with local menus

« Why stay in Yreka »

Quiet little town with good food and hotels not a over crowed place but not so small there is nothing to do. Traffic is mellow people are for the most part friendly. No traffic no crowds whats not to like? Only one thing was very limited cable - no MSNBC which equals "no truth on the cable/ just fox lies . Should have a channel for thinking people like MSNBC.

    4
    « Basketball tournament »

The rooms are big and clean. Breakfast was well stocked and maintained. Lots of rooms and parking. Easy access to and from the freeway. 3 minute drive to the high school. Cheveron gas station is accross the street. And a resturant sharing the parking lot.

    5
    « great place along I 5 »

This is a comfortable, well priced place with easy access to the historic downtown and a good stop when traveling to or from California and Oregon. There is a good breakfast and there is a nice green area for pets. Good Stay!

    3
    « Quick stopover »

Convenient location, great staff, average facilities. The location was great, walking distance to restaurants. The facilities weren't the cleanest but weren't too too bad. TV remote didn't work worth *($& and not all channels advertised were available. This is a great location for a quick stopover and depart.

« Returning from Family Visit in Oregon »

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with Best Friends in Oregon and needed a half way stop coming home. This is a Great Hotel in a very cute old town of Yreka, we even got to enjoy their Christmas Parade in Old Town. The facility appears to be in the process of freshening up and our room looked almost new. Very attentive Staff and the grounds are beautiful by the river. Breakfast was fine.

    2
« Not the best choice »

This facility is badly in need of updating. It should also invest in new towels - some were nice and others almost threadbare. They only give each room two sets of towels. No extras for Best Western members like we normally receive at other Best Western properties. Only one person working the front desk on check in and check out which resulted in waiting to be helped. Plus the check in person did not appear to be happy to be helping me.

    5
    « Nor-Cal's Best »

This property should be a BW Plus. Friendly staff, clean rooms and a good warm breakfast. In the center of town and close to freeway access, but still very quiet. They are in the process of making some upgrades but it is still the best place to stay in Yreka.

    4
« Nice little place to stay! »

Felt it was a very good value and a nice decent clean hotel. No complaints at all. Great value for a clean room with a full breakfast. Off the main highway enough to not hear traffic but yet very close and easy to find.

    5
« a clean and comfortable place to stay! »

very helpful staff. It was snowing going north so the front desk kept me advised about the conditions and offered me room to stay another night if I had to. They went out of their way to help me with an issue at another place I had stayed

« Nice place to stay »

Called to book at the last minute as we were traveling through the area. Had tried to book online but couldn't remember my Reward account password. The desk clerk, Amber, was very friendly & helpful, asking me my email address so she could look up my account & credit me with my points. Greatly appreciated that! Nice clean, quiet 2nd story room. Good thing we were traveling light since they don't have elevators, something to keep in mind if you need that. Breakfast was good & yes, you can make fresh waffles!

« Very Clean and Pleasant »

The hotel room was very clean, comfortable and the furniture was in good shape. Very spacious king room. The warm breakfast was excellent, and personnel was very friendly and helpful. When calling to make the reservation, the receptionist was very helpful in finding us a discount on the room price. We appreciated that very much.

    « Best Western Miner's Inn »

I stay here 5 or 6 times a year and have been satisified, but this last stay was disappointing. I actually had to do some cleaning - trash behind the nightstand when I moved it to plug the lamp in. I had to clean both the frig and the microwave before I used them. The mirror was spotted. I've never had that experience. Maybe a new inexperienced housecleaner? The desk staff are always nice and helpful. But after all these years I've stayed there I think I'll try somewhere else next time.

    4
    « Great Stay »

Miner"s Inn is a great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great, the room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Getting on the internet was very easy and worked well too. All in all it was a very pleasant stay. I would highly recommend this Best Western to anyone. Thanks you

    4
    « Nice Accommodations »

Although a slightly older facility, it is clean and well maintained; the staff is cheerful and helpful, although apparently unaware that the restaurant they recommended was closed the night I stayed. Decent value for the price. I plan to stay again when in the area, and will recommend to others.

    4
    « BW Miners Inn »

We stayed as part of a firefighter strike team on the way to Napa and then on the way home from Santa Cruz. The room I stayed in which is in the furthest building from the office was decent, but the bed mattress was very worn and felt like I was getting in and out of a canoe. I would not recommend these rooms. However, on the way back I requested a room with a comfortable bed. They put us upstairs in the low 200s'. The room was great. Mattress new and very comfortable. Amenities very nice. A great value for the money. My recommendation is to stay in the rooms closest to the lobby.

    5
    « Consistently a Pleasure »

This must be the sixth or seventh time I've stayed at this Best Western and it is consistently a pleasure. The price is very fair, the breakfast consistently warm and good, and the room consistently quiet and private.

    5
    « Very nice »

We stopped in and asked for a room. Very nice and clean. Pleasant staff and very informative. The room was very nice and loved the fact that the bathroom is in a separate section of the room. Not right there. Was right next to a creek and beautiful setting. Loved it! Would return again.

    4
« Basic Best Western Hospitality and Quality »

Best Western Miner's Inn is a basic Best Western: spotless, a reasonably comfortable bed, free wifi, complimentary breakfast. It was a one night quick stop that met all our needs. Located near the highway; easy to find and easy to move on to our next destination. The wifi was a bit slow/frustrating at times, and weekend breakfast ends at 9AM (a bit too early and does not make sense if checkout is 11AM).

    5
    « Very nice »

The rooms were large and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are great areas to take your dogs. Breakfast was good with lots of options. We will stay there again next time we are in Yreka.

    5
    « Love this place »

We have stayed at the Best Western Miner's Inn three times. Always have had a very good experience. The rooms are always clean, the beds are so comfortable, and the staff has always been very pleasant and accommodating.

« Creekside means by the Freeway »

Our stay was good, the bed was good and the room was clean. We were in a Creekside room which is near the freeway, did have some freeway noise but not enough to be a problem. Room was crowded with too much furniture.

    5
« Great Staff and Rooms »

I have stayed at the Miner's Inn in Yreka several times and it is always clean, comfortable, with super nice staff, and a good breakfast. The free wireless internet and pool are great too. The hotel is within walking distance of several good restaurants.

    4
    « Enjoyed our stay »

The beds were very comfortable and the updated décor was appreciated. We also liked the convenience to the historic downtown area. Even though the hotel is close to the freeway, we were not bothered by freeway noise.

    5
« Great location for travelers on the 5! »

Clean, solid facility. Friendly staff. Good location (between the 5 and Yreka 's Main Street). Appearance leaves a lot to be desired, but once you're in your room or outside the hotel's premises that negative becomes irrelevant. For a stop-over on your way to or from, great hotel.

    5
    « A great nights sleep »

I have been staying at this Best Western twice a year for several years. I have always found a clean and comfortable room. On my last visit a got a great nights sleep as usual. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful. Easy exit off of I-5 make is the perfect stop for a trip to Oregon.

    5
« Perfect one night stop »

We were traveling from Sacramento to Portland and picked this as our over night stop. We arrived around 10 pm and there was a rep at the desk that was friendly and helped us get checked in. She showed us where the room was on a map, gave us the wifi password and went over breakfast in the morning. We had a two queen bed room which was clean and more than ample space for the three of us. Beds were comfortable enough for a nights sleep and plenty of pillows and extra blankets were available in the room. They had a pretty good spread for breakfast, including waffle makers with toppings like blueberries and chocolate chips. There was someone in the room refilling breakfast items, including bacon and scrambled eggs. Overall a great place to stay right off I-5. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

    5
    « Perfect! »

From check-in, to the breakfast, to the cleanliness of the room, everything was what I was hoping for. I would stay here again! Its proximity to Old Town Yreka was perfect. We could walk to bars, shops, and restaurants.

    5
    « Good Nights Sleep »

This hotel was conveniently located right off Hwy 5, the room was clean, staff were friendly, even had hot popcorn. We had a small problem with our TV, and staff quickly and politely fixed it right away. Breakfast was extensive, and the breakfast room was huge (there is even an extra side room).

« Admitted criminal activity of staff by the employee and management »

I held an event at the Convention Center and outside gazebo area this last weekend. We had to vacuum the carpet prior to decorating, had to mop the dance floor as it turned my toddler's feet black, and there was a mountain of trash bags next to the park area where the wedding was taking place. After the reception was over, the maintenance/janitor was supposed to turn off the air conditioner and lock up, but instead he helped himself to a few of my things that we were told we could retrieve in the morning. The employee admitted to me that he had stolen my things. At that point the police were called. He also admitted to the police that he stole my things. I declined to press charges as all my items were recovered from him in black trash backs that he attempted to conceal them in. The general manager was notified immediately of the situation by the night auditor. The manager did not contact me for over 36 hours. When she did contact me, there was no apology offered, and no attempt to correct or to rectify the situation. Her only concern was that I had "blasted" the establishment on social media, from a post I had placed on my personal FB page after I had been admitted to by the thief that he had stolen from me. Rudely and sarcastically the "general manager" assured me that the "employee" was "reprimanded and suspended for a week". Ummm he committed a crime against not only myself, but he also took plates, and a comforter that belonged to his "employer" that I could potentially be charged for, but I thankfully reported all the items to YPD and fortunately they were recovered. When the Best Western Corporate office was contacted I found that the Miners Inn Convention center is not affiliated with the Best Western Franchise as it is privately owned. When I then called the Miners Inn Best Western front desk to get the owner/company's contact information to speak to them directly regarding the incident, she stated she did not know, did not have the information and could not give me any contact information for the owning entity. She could only offer me the general manager's email.

    « Yreka - Miners Inn »

This is a great value hotel. It is a superb location and the Best Western Miner's Inn, Yreka does a fantastic job with their breakfast and presentation. The hotel is undergoing some management changes, and hopefully the new management team will be just as competent as the former one.

    « Quit Stay »

Next to freeway, but very quit, and serve a good breakfast. Rooms are clean, and have everything you need, and close to everything. And the staff are always so friendly, and nice. Always stop here on our way south.

« A very nice place to stay »

We have stayed at this Best Western in the past on our trips north through Oregon. It's very clean and quiet and is pet friendly. The staff is very nice and helpful. It's a great location off of I-5 and there are many restaurant choices within walking distance of the hotel. We will continue to use this hotel when traveling north.

Modern accessible room. in the city center and close to old downtown. Food and shopping close. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ample parking. Stayed two days for husband's class reunion. Would stay there again.

    « centrally located »

Nice hotel, centrally located right by the historic downtown area. Restaurants and unique sites very close. there is a nice green sitting area, Very clean. The staff was very nice and ready to help. Lots of parking is available suitable for an RV or trailer. I found it to be very comfortable and would stay there again.

    « Good air »

After driving through Oregon in the smoke for most of the day we were hoping for clear sky's in California but it was not to be. However, upon checking in at the Miners Inn we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice clean room and no smoke or smoke smell. Don't know how it was done but we loved it.

« Worst customer service ever. »

Night customer service representative named Sara was very rude and didnt have any idea on how to deal with customer. When we made our reservation, we mentioned that it will be a late check in since we were driving back from seattle to cali. When we got to the hotel around 2am, we were told that we were charged for no show and were not able to check in. We tried to show her our confirmation for the reservation and she would not want to cooperate. We asked for a different room since we lost our reserved room and she refused to give us a room and told us to get the fk out of the hotel. She started using bad words to us and threaten us that she would call the cops if we dont leave the hotel right away and told us not to come back again. we were not the only person that she mis-behaved that night. It happeded to a different couple as well. While we were at the parking lot, trying to figure out where to go at the middle of the night, she called the cops on us. Since it was not our fault, I went and talked to the cops and let them know what happened. The cops went and tried to talk to her but she would not cooperate with the cops as well. We end up paying for another hotel around 4am in the morning. Went back to the hotel in the morning to talk to the supervisor, the supervisor gave us our money back since we were charged even though we didnt get to stay in our reserved room. However, her customer service didnt impress us as well. She was trying to protect her employee and took the whole incident as a joke.she kept laughing at us when I was trying to tell her the truth. I would not suggest anyone to stay in this hotel. This particular hotel is a bad example for Best Western brand and will drop their standard.

    5
    « favorite stay »

I love this hotel. The location is perfect for us, and the rooms are nice, always as expected. It is true this is a "road-trip" hotel, opposed to a "resort" hotel. But given that, it is my Favorite. The hotel is by Mount Shasta, and close to mountains and fishing. The rooms are always clean, and service is great.

« good for the money »

I wanted to find a clean, safe place to spend the night between 7 hour driving days...it was clean, I felt safe and they were kind. Wifi was a bit spotty....wifi never stopped if I was using my phone/computer but the minute I wasn't using the phone/computer, wifi would disconnect and I would have to put the password in again. I would definitely stay there again for a quick overnighter.

« Major value at the Miner's Inn »

Oh hell yeah, this is a great place to stay. I am happy and well pleased with all aspects of it. Quiet, clean and easy to find. Plenty of parking, great views and especially helpful and professional staff. This is a very fine place to stay when in Yreka. I recommend it - no issues and the best part is it is pet friendly!

« Great place to stop on I-5 Roadtrip »

Driving from the Bay Area north to Portland Area it was exactly half way at 5 hrs with 5 more to go and right off I-5. Flew through a fast, friendly check-in (as well as check-out) Room was very clean, quiet, and I appreciated that A/C was on when walking into room from a hot, smokey trip. (Lots of wildfires across state). I had a King Room on Creek side lower level. Room had a slider patio door to a lawn area with picnic tables and apparently was an area for pets. Fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in room. Breakfast was a step above a standard motel breakfast. Hot offerings included waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as the usual pastries and Fruit juice. Coffee of course, that was above the usual cheap liquid concentrated stuff many try to get away with. Kudos on the Farmer Brothers Coffee in breakfast room, a solid brand. There are two family restaurants right there as well for dining. One on property, and another across the street from it. Would I stay here again or recommend? Yes

    « good choice »

This Best Western is clean, well-maintained and comfortable -- as I have come to expect. We stay here each year when we pass through Yreka. Once again, we had an excellent king bed in a creekside room. The motel was full, yet our ground-floor room was quiet. Wifi was almost non-existent inside our room.

    5
    « Great Rooms »

This Motel is located right off Highway 5 in Yreka CA. The large room with a queen bed, desk, table w/ 2 comfortable chairs, microwave and refrigerator was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was standard fare but is included in the reasonable price of the room.

    « It's OK »

This is the THIRD hotel in Yreka we've stayed at in the last 3 weeks. I've reviewed the others, and the BW is the best choice so far. The rooms are clean, the location about as good as it gets in Yreka, and I recommend this hotel for a mix of price, staff, and value. But it does have a few drawbacks. The internet is so bad that I cannot do anything online, right now I am in a room here using my cell phone for internet access. No HBO, I wanted to watch Game of Thrones but.... Can't connect to iTunes, can't do anything. This hotel has been packed every night we've been here, you'd think they could buy better routers and better internet.

Best room I have stayed in ar BEST WESTERN I will stay there the next time we spend the night in Yerka, Ca. I love that they have bathtubs, so many motels only have showers, and it was a Clean room. Thank you Best Western

« Poor experience and not up to BW expectations. Poor service and lack of respect shown during check in »

Lack of respect given at check in. Breakfast bar missing half items or more as employee did not report for work so front desk person expected to cover both and had no idea what to do for breakfast bar. No food and empty coffee canasters as he was at front desk checking out guests. People in both areas unhappy. No apologies offered.....no one seemed to care about customer service for the two days we were guests.

    « Typical Best Western »

Stayed on 8/18 and again on 8/22. The room was clean and the wifi worked very fast. the only thing that bothered me was only a single hand towel in the room. Both stays. Also the lamp by the bed was broken so hard to sit in bed and read. Forgot to tell them when I checked out. Breakfast adequate and typical for a Best Western. They need to keep up on repairs and provide a hand towel for each person-there were two of us.

« Classy and nice stay in Yreka »

Yreka is a small town, but if you visit this place, than this Best Western is probably your best choice. Very Clean, and very nice rooms. Breakfast could be a little better, but its free so I will not complain. I could really relax, it was all around a very pleasant stay. and relaxed stay

    « Traveling with Pet »

This is a newly renovated hotel - large room and comfortable. It is also a pet-friendly hotel that only charges $15 a night, which is very reasonable. We will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time we pass through.

« Great space for the money »

The Suites are very spacious and have enough air conditioning units to keep everyone comfortable. The pool is nicely located as well. There was plenty of parking and access to the room was convenient. The ice making machine is kept in a clean areas as well.

« New Owners Management Poor Quality »

This Place has gone down hill since the new owners have taken over. The event Center is filthy, no paper towels in restrooms to dry hands, staff sure could be trained better. It is very sad as this had previously been a real gem in Yreka.

    « Just Average »

We stayed here July 14. We made the reservation in April with the specifics for a room on the ground floor which was pet free and late check-in. We were told this would be no problem. We arrived about 7:00 pm. We were first given a room on the first floor that was pet friendly, then the desk clerks looked at our reservation. They said that they did not have any ground floor rooms that were pet free as they all were pet friendly. We have allergies and cannot stay in a pet friendly room. If we would have known this we would have stayed elsewhere. They changed our room to an upstairs room. There is no elevator. We are seniors and the stairs became an issue for us. Both of us tripped on the stairs during our stay. The room was at the top of the stairs which was ok. It was a large room and looked nice at first. However, the AC had not been turned on and the room was very hot, still over 90 degrees outside. It took almost all night to cool down. It was very apparent that the room had not been used in quite a while. We wanted to hang up some our clothes and could not because of the dust that was stuck on the hangers. We tried to use the microwave oven and it did not work properly. We tried to use the wi-fi and the instructions we were given to access the internet were wrong. We had to call the desk for new instructions. After finally connecting with the wi-fi we had a very hard time staying connected. We tried to place an 800 toll free call and the phone would not work. Talked again to the front desk and we were told sorry that the maintenance man didn't work on Saturdays and they could not do anything for us, this was Friday night not Saturday. The morning breakfast could have been better. There was no fruit at all. The breakfast room is totally inadequate for the number of guests. This property is adjacent to the highway but is very quite as there are many trees blocking out the sound. When we checked out, Stacie did not give us credit for our $10 Best Western travel card. We had to bring this to her attention with no apology from her. This hotel would only accept one of our travel cards and we have later found out from Best Western that they should take as many as we wanted them to. We would have to think twice about staying here again. There are other hotels in Yreka.

« Best Western Miners Inn Yreka »

This motel is a great value, located next to a quaint later 1800s downtown about 20 miles south of the Oregon stateline in the Siskyous. Go into Ashland, Oregon and you'll pay a lot more for an equivalent Best Western room. The Etna Brewing Taphouse is a friendly pub that serves great food, and the Miner Street Meat Market is a great old-fashioned butcher shop with great products and a friendly staff. Both are walking distance from the Miner's Inn. I have stayed there three times and will again in the future.

Great hotel. Slept great there. Very comfortable. Great A/C, breakfast, beds and great room darkening shades to sleep in. Staff was very helpful and really friendly. I really did enjoy my stay there and will stay there again I visit Yreka again for business

« Comfortable, clean and quiet! »

Traveling from Berkeley to Portland, my young son and I stayed here overnight to break up the long drive. The hotel was exactly what I expected. It was very clean and comfortable with large rooms and ample bathroom and closet space. It was very affordable and even though it's located right off of I-5 it was really quiet and peaceful. After we ate dinner across the street at the Purple Plum (really tasty little restaurant), my son kicked around his soccer ball at the hotels grassy park area and played on their jungle gym. We enjoyed a really good nights sleep that evening. The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised with their free continental breakfast. It was one of the best included breakfasts we've had a hotel like this. My son is a bit of a picky eater, but he inhaled their scrambled eggs, bacon, and yogurt. Success! Alao, as a mom, I really appreciated that the room included a microwave and mini-fridge. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if given the opportunity. I highly recommend this nice hotel to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay. Sweet dreams!

    « Clean, Pleasant & Pet friendly »

Best Western is our go too hotel chain when traveling The price for value is generally very good. The Miner's Inn is no exception. The hotel is an easy on off I5 for a nice road travel stop. It works well when traveling with our 2 dogs since they are pet friendly.

    5
« Comfortable even when HOT »

Even with some confusion about whether we were keeping the reservations, the motel staff kept us on the list for our late arrival and the stay was very comfortable. We stayed in the section near the meeting room which is extremely comfortable. I would recommend this motel even though it may be older than some in the city; we have been coming here for years. Great staff, clean, and conveniently located.

    4
« Recently remodeled family suites »

We stay at this hotel each year and rent a family suite. They are recently remodeled and very comfortable. The only caution is they no longer allow pets in the family suites but it isn't explicitly stated on their website.

    4
    « Nice Stop »

We only spent one night here but were very pleased with the service, clean and quiet room. My only issue was with the room fridge that only went to "6" for cooling - not enough for the items we were traveling with, and drinks were just cool. No freezer compartment. Easy access and near good local restaurants.

    5
« Best room to date »

The biggest thing I want to say is that the interior of the hotel room was beyond excellent! It was unusally spacious, airy, and had great beds and amenities. Granite countertops in the bathroom too! I was very impressed with the quality.

    5
    « Da Colonel's Input »

I gave my comments on the original evaluation. This is a well-run, efficient, clean, convenient, comfortable, well-managed, pleasant facility. I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff, the quality of the services, and the ambiance of the room. I know that the rating system is highly arbitrary, but given where this is located (Yreka isn't exactly a major location) I would give it five stars without hesitation overall. Any issue I had was an oversight and not a deficiency.

« Awful internet access, but otherwise fine »

Great check-in, nice artwork in office and around property, spacious room, and pet friendly. It was disappointing that all of this was overshadowed by the awful internet access. This didn't seem consistent with the other positive qualities of the hotel. Apparently management has been aware of the problem but hasn't done anything to improve it.

    « Miner's stay »

Every year we go to San Francisco at least twice. Leave Kent, Washingtonand make it to Yreka and spend the night at Best Western. It's always a exceptional stay. Exceptional stay, breakfast, and accomadations.

« Perfect Stop in Northern California »

We stopped in Yreka while heading up to Oregon. The hotel seems like newer or renovated. The decor and cleanliness was great. The reception emplyee happily gave us some recommendations for dining in the area. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast was great! They even had a hot chocolate machine. Would absolutely recommend and use this hotel again.

    4
    « A Pleasant Stop in Yreka »

If you are traveling south on I-5, this is a great place to stop for families with kids. The hotel is family friendly and there is a nice restaurant just across the street. Yreka has a unique history so check out the local museum too.

    « Usually a great stay but... »

I'm a Diamond member of BW and usually enjoy a great stay at this property, not so much this time around. Never had any pool towels available so we had to use room towels leaving no towels for showers. When we told the front desk about the absence of pool towels they showed up 10 minutes later with 5 hand towels for at least 10 guests using the pool. The mattress was horrible as well, no sleep in room 166 this go round. (I had stayed inn this same room last August and the mattress was horrible then, I complained then, no change with the mattress from then till now) Hopefully when we return in two weeks and stay in room 165 things might be better. stay tuned for details.

« Good pet friendly overnight stay »

If you travel with a dog this is a good place. Ask for a Creekside room. The room was clean and everything worked. WIFI was adequate at about 3Mbps. I have no real complaints except that I woke up with a back ache but that happens a lot to me. My wife had no isuses with the bed.

    « Best Bestern Miner's Inn Yreka »

The hotel was very old but kept up to date, with clean room, excellent lobby staff and large breakfast eating area. We enjoyed our stay and learned a little about the history of this small little town. I really enjoyed the fresh popped popcorn at the check in lobby area. Will come here again to learn more about Yreka

    « BW Miner's Inn »

Wonderful location, close to restaurants and gas stations. Lovely area for walking and exploring. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed was the very best I've ever slept in. The area the hotel is located in is very quiet, so it is easy to get a restfull sleep and quiet time.

    « Great value »

Everything was clean, the room was large, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel is located near downtown, so there are many restaurants within walking distance. Also, the breakfast had many options and was well-stocked.

    « Family stay. »

My five grandchildren and I stayed one night on a drive from PDX to SFX. Yreka was the half was point. It was very hot in Yreka so it was nice to find the lobby and rooms cool. The motel is older but we'll cared for. The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool.

« Good value and clean »

This is a good place to stop halfway between Portland OR and San Francisco CA. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was hot and ample. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Very easy to access from I-5. There is an indoor pool.

    4
    « Solid Stay »

Hotel is well maintained. Room are pretty clean, the bathroom smelled of mildew, but appeared clean. The bed was comfy, with nice bedding. The pillows however were huge and hard. Had to go buy a pillow that I could actually sleep on. We had a creek side room and there was some road noise at night. Location felt safe and was pretty quiet.

    4
    « Nice place »

Convenient location. Good value. I was visiting Shasta and southern Oregon and it worked out really well, since I was able to spend a day in Crater Lake and Ashland, and the rest of the time in the Shasta Area. Lots to see and do near here, but a car is essential.

    3
« Room is good value »

The hotel is convenient to the freeway. The rooms are fairly large and nice, better than many, but certainly not luxurious. The breakfast was OK, nothing special, although it did include bacon and eggs. However, the service to keep the room clean and well-supplied with coffee and breakfast items was lacking. Would stay again, but might get breakfast elsewhere.

    5
    « Great stay »

I would highly recommend this motel to stay in. Clean rooms, professional staff, and great breakfast. Water pressure a bit low but that is the area not the fault of the hotel. Also location is great! Right in the center of food central off the highway. I counted at least 5 eateries within easy walking distance.

« Decent hotel to break up a long roadtrip »

My wife and I and our dog stopped at this Best Western in Yreka to break up the drive between Portland and Reno. From the outside, the hotel looks like it has had better days but the room appeared to be recently remodeled. The furniture and appliances looked new, and aside from one strand of a spider web hanging from the ceiling, the room was clean and did not have a pet smell. We were on the first floor and had very little noise above us or in the rooms next door. A good pet relief area next to the parking lot and the wifi worked well for us. The desk clerks were very friendly as well. Pretty good free breakfast with waffles, muffins, yogurt, cereals, etc. Also close to a few family restaurants and only about a two block walk to the historic downtown. We bought takeout from Esperanza's (formerly Lalo's) for dinner and it was excellent (see separate review). Not the fanciest hotel but was a good value and I would stay here again.

    4
    « Family Roadtrip »

The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The only problem was the breakfast room. It was poorly arranged and it was difficult to get to the food because it was VERY crowded into one corner. I was assured there are plans to change the configuration.

    2
    « Work »

A/c was set at 62, was still warm in room, refrigerator didn't work at all, had to walk across the other side of the motel to get ice and put in sink to keep waters cold, bed was ok, tv channels would not go higher than 40, there were 70 channels, I'll try somewhere else

    5
    « The Best hotel »

Not only the best hotel we stayed at, it was the best, Best Western we ever stayed at! The rooms were huge! We were in a 2 queen bed room, there was 4 of us. It was so clean! The beds were very comfortable as well!

    « A great night's stay »

Stopped at Miner's Inn on our way through the area. I was apprehensive as my last BW experience was somewhat distasterous. This hotel restored my faith in Best Western. I was greeted at the desk by cheerful Amber. She quickly set me up for a room for the night. The room was easy to get to, very spacious (easily three times the size of the last BW room I stayed in), inviting, and comfortable. After settling in, Amber called to be sure everything was satisfactory. After a relaxing evening and a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed, I enjoyed an excellent breakfast. There was a good selection of fresh food and the waffles I have come to expect and enjoy. Amber was once again at the desk when I checked out. She had my paperwork ready, genuinely inquired how I liked the stay, thanked me for stopping, and invited me back. Rest assured I will be stopping at the Miner's Inn next time I pass through.

    « Yreka, California »

The best place to stay in Yreka for downtown walking and convenient for business needs ....rooms are fresh and clean. The beds are white sheeted and comfortable. There are some convenient restaurants nearby. Easy on and off freeway access.

    4
    « Comfortable »

A nice hotel. Good customer service. Location was in a safe area of the city. Some restaurants and small shops are walking distance. They close early. Bed was a little too soft for our backs. Breakfast was standard-cereal, eggs, waffles and bagels. A good place to stay.

« Overnight on way to Salem or »

I started my travel from the sf Bay Area up to Salem and was looking for a half way point to stay over night I picked this hotel and was a good overnight stay. I booked a two queen bed room with creek view. I was surprised on the size of the room we received. It was very spacious. We were on the first floor and the room had a patio door that accessed the back of the property to view the creek with picnic tables in the grass. Bed were comfortable, had flat screen tv and a small fridge. Air conditioner worked great. Bathroom was nice although water pressure in the shower was lacking but got the job done. Overall I would stay at this hotel again if I was in the area priced a 134 a night I felt you got value for the price range. And was just off the I5 highway and easy to find. Breakfast was included as well

« A very good, clean and quiet stay »

Stayed in a King room on the 2nd floor. Room very nice, very clean and well maintained. Very quiet despite being closer to the main st. Complimentary hot breakfast every morning, always with fresh cooked either scrambled eggs or a cheese veggie omelette. Stayed for the week. Pool area is OK. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Reasonably priced for the stay. Would stay again when in the area.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay! »

Great deal! The room was clean and newer. The staff was friendly. I was very happy with the quality for the price I paid. Breakfast was great, I do wish there had been some fresh fruit choices, but other than that it was very good. I would recommend staying here if you are traveling and looking for a good deal. Easy to get to off of I-5.

« An Apartment for a Road Trip »

On trips to California we normally stay in Mt. Shasta City. We petered out by Yreka and stopped at Miner's Inn. We were traveling with out daughter and her two kids so we got a two-bedroom suite. Each bedroom is about 10 feet by 20 feet with a huge king-size bed (so-called "California king" I think). There is a desk in each bedroom and a flat screen TV. The front room has two easy chairs and a sofa plus another flat screen TV. Good place for reading with acceptable lighting. There is also a round dining table for four plus a mini-kitchen with two burners, a microwave, plates and glasses and silver plus standard cooking utensils. You can make a real breakfast and lunch here, and perhaps a passable dinner, but with so many nearby restaurants, I am sure dinner will be out. The suite is about 800 square feet, or a city-size two bedroom apartment. There are two pools (the site is complex with the suite area a short walk from the main hotel area via a walkway. There is a shaded picnic area plus a small playground with a slide and swings and tables -- very pleasant. The breakfast is standard highway motel type but OK (they have waffles). The two kids were not underfoot and had plenty of room to explore. This is not a deluxe hotel, and the four stars indicate value for the money. It is in downtown Yreka which is interesting to walk through with the aforementioned restaurants plus a chocolate emporium. The furniture is comfortable and the beds are likewise restful. This is a great place to loiter and spend the night away from I-5.

    4
    « Great location »

The Best Western had it all. Love the town, and love the layout, even if our room was a bit far from the lobby. The outdoor setting more than made up for it. They did mess up our reservation, but we got a free upgrade to a suite because of it.

    5
« Very Comfortable road trip hotel »

We stopped here overnight after a long hot day of driving and found it very clean and comfortable, with a very good breakfast the next morning and a very friendly staff. We take this drive down I-5 regularly and always enjoy our stop here.

    2
« Twice the price, the same low quality »

There was apparently a water leak down to the unit below. No water overflow in our room, but the desk called us at 11 pm to discuss it, then sent over maintenance in the middle of the night. Not ok with a sleeping 3 year old. Water pressure in the shower low. Air conditioner so loud that it was impossible to sleep. The grout around the bathroom area needs to be re-done. It makes for a very dirty/moldy appearance. It is amazing to me how these simple problems tend to get bypassed in some motels. Not very expensive problems to solve. You would think that for $120 / night, the room would be up to speed. The Motel 6 down the road was quoting $47 / night. If the room is cheap anyway, you do the math...

« Good location & good place to stay »

My wife & I were participants in a Cowboy re-enactment held in Yreka this Saturday June 17th. We had booked a room at the Best Western which is conveniently really close to where we put on our show. At the time we booked our room we had asked for a downstairs room & the office confirmed this request. We wanted a downstairs room for two reasons, one health related & two we have a lot of clothes & props to haul for our re-enactment. Upon arrival the young lady in the reception had us down for an upstairs room. After we explained that we did ask for a downstairs room & the reasons for that request she immediately searched for a comparable downstairs room & kindly found us a first class room. We would like to add she was most helpful & courteous. The room turned out to be very much to our liking. It had two queen size beds that meant that the room was quite large. There were two sink & counters, one in the shower/bath area & one adjacent just outside the bathroom. This feature is extremely useful when two people are trying to get ready at the same time. What was also nice was that the bathroom fixtures as well as the sinks appeared to be brand new. In the main area of our room there was a desk with a comfortable desk chair, a round table with two comfortable armchairs, a set of drawers that also contained a cupboard with a microwave oven & a refrigerator in it. This particular unit also had a sliding glass door at the rear of the room leading to a grass patio with a picnic table. There were additional blankets in one of the drawers, but the beds were adequate respecting sheets, blankets & pillows, & although firm, the beds were most comfortable. The furnishings I have to say were good quality nothing cheap about finish or construction. If I had to make a complaint I would have to say that the clothes closet was a little small but in all honesty we bring a lot of clothes including a lady's Victorian gown. Probably for most travelers the space is adequate. Then when you add there is a hot breakfast on the house this is a very good choice of a hotel to stay at. And if you are so inclined there is also a swimming pool available next to the lobby. I do not think you can go wrong with this Best Western.

    « Great overnight stay. »

Everything has been upgraded and was wonderful. Decor was fantastic. I love the creek side rooms and so does our small dog. The staff was super. We had a great stopover on our trip. If we had been staying longer we would have been extremely comfortable as the room has everything you need. We had picked up takeout from Strings, and loved having the table and chairs to eat at.

    4
« Good place to overnight en route. »

This is a great little spot, especially for an overnight spot on a road trip. However, if the weather is hot, do not choose an upstairs room as the air conditioners are old and noisy, and have a difficult time cooling the room.

« Overnight stay while traveling »

This is a very clean and nice Hotel. The desk clerks were helpful and nice. They were happy to show us the room before checking in. The breakfast had plenty of options, and the coffee was good. We were just passing through on our journey and were happy to get a good nights sleep. This motel has a pool, it looked clean we did not use it. Our room was a double queen, it was very large and very clean and quiet.

    « Were we impressed »

On a short trip up to Oregon, we opted to hold back with huge storms "blessing" Southern Oregon and make our evening stop in Yreka. A call to the Miner's Inn and we had our room, and what a room (148). The hundred dollar tab was well worth it as it was one of the best motel rooms we've stayed at in years of traveling the USA and beyond. And after dinner, a driving tour of the old town was a great way to end the evening.

    « Great for travelers. »

This isn't a place I would go to for leisure but it's great as a stop when traveling in the area. The rates are kinda low and you get your money's worth. The room and property aren't too bad and the internet connection and breakfast are solid. Steven and Kyle on the staff were very helpful and informative. I would recommend it but if you're looking for something for luxurious I would try something else.

« Decent hotel, poor TV reception and options. »

Please include MSNBC in the stations you offer in your rooms. The Holiday Inn Express has the same TV service and has it. I do not want to deal with the BS that's spread from Fox News. Breakfast needs more fruit.

    « TripHome »

I pulled up to this Best Western and realized it was different than others, being two floors and an older design (which was appealing). It was clear remodel work was being done. The gal checking me in was pleasant. She was helpful in giving me information also on places to grab a bite to eat. She further contacted me once I was settled in my room, ensuring all was in order. Although a bit dated everything was clean and in working order. I did find the water temp not quite as hot as I would have liked it in the morning. For the price point this is a good place to stop.

    5
« Stay here, and eat an organic breakfast you bring with you »

This is an exceptional hotel especially for the area, but like all hotels, the food they serve is cheap, bought from major corporations. Avoid eating it if you know what's good for you. You are what you eat, and disease is often connected to your diet.

Business trip to Yreka. Price was right. Breakfast was very very good. If you are staying in Yreka, this is the place to stay. Restaurant nearby. Miners street with lots of shopping across the street.

« Very nice and clean! »

I stayed at this hotel with my 2 children. The room was quiet and clean. I was very pleased with the room and the person who checked me in. They were very helpful in explaining the rewards program to me. I will definitely stay here again.

    « Good Location »

Our stay was quite nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was good, especially the coffee I would recommend this hotel to someone and would stay there again. The breakfast sandwiches were good and we like that you accept dogs.

« Not what I expect from a BW hotel »

The room smelled like smoke, even though it was supposed to be a smokeless room. It also seemed as if they had put whatever furniture was left over into the room. It was a large room - almost too large - and it was clear it was used as a pet room as my dog found a lot of intriguing smells I don't mind paying extra for a pet, provided I get the cleaning I'm supposed to be paying for. The thing that was the worst part of it all was the hotel was so so spread out live it took me almost 10 minutes to find the room. It was not fun driving all over this massive property n the dead of night trying to see these little unlit signs which gave the buildings room numbers. Plus to compound the problem, they weren't logically sequential. Even the next morning in the daylight I had a hard time finding the office. Not the typical BW I am used to and was oooking forward to. Fix the signage. Clean the room properly. Don't furnish it with leftovers.

    « Great Staff/Clean Rooms »

Very nice place to stay as I middle point from Washington to California. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Nice location and I stayed here before and will come back to stay when I travel this way again..

    « Pet friendly room »

We had to take our fur baby with us on this trip for the first time. I was leary about staying in a pet friend room, but was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was super comfy. Restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is doing some remodeling & had some materials stacked around outside, things like that don't bother us, but some are very picking about those things. We would stay here again.

    « Perfect Halfway Point »

Really enjoy stopping at this Best Western. It is the perfect half way point on my travels north from San Diego, CA to Silverdale, WA. Easy access off and back on the freeway, has great staff, and very nice breakfast to start you on your way. Plan to stay again over the summer.

« Going home from sacramento to St Helens, Or »

Our best stay at this BW. This time around, a very accommodating desk staff, very attentive and cordial. We made our reservation while traveling and were told there were no more downstairs rooms. (with the nephropathy in my feet, stairs are not my friends any more). The staff member asked if we would be OK in an accessible room? If we could get this room, we would be overjoyed, I told him. (otherwise we were going to push on through to the BW in Medford) Our pets were welcome, a big plus for us. With the new BW coming in, the rooms are no longer run down and well used. The mattress is comfortable and not broken. Very clean, even received a courtesy call from the front desk asking if the room was acceptable and if we were having any problems that she could help us with. Big difference from our last time through Yreka BW! What to eat for dinner, well, we called Jefferson's road house that is listed in the welcome binder in our room. I placed a to-go, pick up order for 2 prime rib dinners with all the fixings and calamari. I asked about their shuttle service, (because we are towing a trailer and parking issue) and Heidi asked me to hold on for a minute, she came right back and said, "would you mind if my shuttle driver brought you the dinner"? I replied, "that would be wonderful", she said, "about 25 minutes", I said, "that is great". While I sat in the front lobby, your front desk hostess said she had never heard that Jefferson's delivers, and I explained why they are bringing the dinner to us. (Learned that her husband is one of the chefs there!) Wow, the dinner was hot and delicious. Really added to our experience, usually when we stay here we get KFC and that is our dinner, this time, Easter Sunday to boot, we had Prime Rib delivered to our hotel. All we needed to do is go the front desk to meet the driver, who just happened to be Heidi's husband, Jefferson's owner. WOW, great experience all the way around! I am anxious to see how much more BW is going to add to their rooms. Other BW's, like Roseburg, have put hand soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall and in the shower eliminating the bar soap waste. Great Idea!! CandH from Oregon

    « Very nice »

We've been meaning to stay here for some time, since we travel through here 2-3 times a year. This time, we actually stopped. Really sorry we waited so long. Everything was clean, and in good shape. Staff was friendly and more than happy to assist if needed. Like nearly every hotel we go to, the electrical outlets are in need of replacing. They are getting weak, and barely hold a plug in. Other than the outlet issue I highly recommend this hotel

« BW Miners Inn Yreka, California - THE place to stay »

This Best Western - has taken the leap to the next level. I've stayed here before, but this time - WOW! Outstanding, attentative and Personable desk staff, THe new rooms are GORGEOUS, and the NEW BREAKFASTS - I couldn't believe this was a BW - I felt like a place 5x more expensive. They NAILED IT!

    « Stayed here before »

I have stayed here several times on my north to WA. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfy. There are good eats close by. Would recommend this hotel.

« Great staff, good parking even if towing, good rest »

My partner and I stayed here recently, while towing a competition car. We found the the staff pleasant with a genuine friendliness, the room comfy, the price reasonable. We will definitely be back next time my racing travels take me this way.

    « Love Miner's Inn in Yreka »

Have stayed at Miner's Inn in Yreka many times on my trips to Calif and back. Wonderful facility and friendly staff. Continental breakfast is convenient and there are numerous eating places nearby. There is even a Walmart at the end of town if you need anything you forgot.

    5
    « Clean and quiet »

Excellent bedding (no reused bedspreads) comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast. I have stayed here twice and will again. Linens and comfortable bed are so worth it to me to pay a little more for than the lowest rate motel.

    3
« Ants in our room; then transferred to an inconvenient ADA room... »

There were ants in the first room the front desk assigned us to. When we were moved, it turned out to be an ADA accessible room with a walk in shower instead of a shower/bathtub combo. The room itself was a lot smaller than our first ant-infested room. Highly disappointed. Will not stay here again.

« Yreka, calif; Beast Western Motel »

Good bed and quiete, a big point with me. Easy on and off freeway. Restaurants close. Town will have lots of Tourists in the summer and in winter for skiing. Breakfast more than just OK; more than just standard stuff; scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle machine, breads, coffee, juices and more.

    4
    « Good value »

Good access off the freeway, good value, and comfortable room. Dining options very close by. The Purple Plum across the street had very good fish and chips and burgers. We would stay here again. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. We would recommend this hotel.

    « Busy but fine »

The Best Western in Yreka Ca was very busy there was a cafe near ajacent to grounds open late for food. Room was nice grounds were open but green, the night I stayed the hotel was very very busy it is a large hotel & full, however the hotel was quiet & sleep good. Breakfast room was very small & crowded. Staff was very professional & nice.

    « Just OK »

Our room was OK, but it was really cold. It also smelled like bug spray. In the morning we found a huge spider under my daughter's pillow. I'm assuming that is the reason for the smell. I wish they hadn't put us in that room if they knew there had been a bug problem..

« Excellent For Humans and Their 4 legged Friends »

The Best Western Hotel in Yreka was a very pleasant experience. From the reception at the front desk to a comfortable room to a nice hot breakfast. The room was spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. I like the fact that the bathroom is separate from vanity area. The best part was that I could open the sliding door and take our pets out to the grassy backyard to do their business (with pooper scooper bags available) while listening to the soothing sounds of the babbling brook just beyond the fence. Breakfast was wonderful with an assortment of good eats both hot and cold.

    « Terrible management »

We've been staying here for 16.5 years. My husbands 60 year old mother is suffering from Early Onset Alzheimers so we visit Yreka frequently. We are Best Western Diamond members and we are Hilton Diamond members. Let me tell you that being a Best Western Diamond member doesn't mean a whole lot to the staff at this location. Stick to another hotel chain. This past summer we had issues with our room and the air conditioner not working properly. It was turning off and on all night long. This was the second time we'd experienced issues with one of their units. It kept us and our 4 month old baby awake all night long. By the morning I had a pounding headache from the worst night sleep I've ever had. We brought it to their attention and were told it would be fixed. By the next evening they still hadn't remedied it so we switched to a suite as that was what was available. We were charged for and paid the difference in price. The real problem is that manager Sandra accused us of "complaining in order to recieve a discount" and told that we always try to get discounts when we stay there. She said her employee told her so but can not provide us with any proof whatsoever. ????? Is she speaking of our military discount? If you don't want customers to use military discounts, then don't offer one. We asked Sandra to pull up her notes in the computer and tell us what she was speaking of. She refused. Her claims are false and unsubstantiated. 16.5 years of loyalty to your business and this is how you treat us because we dared complain about a horrible night sleep caused by a broken AC unit? Because of the central location we decided to give them another try. So this past weekend we got into town after an 8 hour drive with 4 kids including a fussy baby only to find that our reservation had been cancelled by the manager Sandra and we were turned away and told we were no longer welcome to stay there. The manager bans diamond members over complaining about a broken AC unit and using military discounts??? She doesn't feel the need to pick up a phone and let us know before we arrive with 4 tired and hungry children? The poor young lady behind the desk was visibly upset that she was put into this position and the manager refused to take a call from us. (By the way, what kind of manager makes her employees do her dirty work and refuses to speak to customers who ask for her? What is the point of even having a manager who won't handle the hard stuff and doesn't work toward solutions?) We are very confused and very upset over this. Horrible horrible horrible customer service. You lost lifelong customers. Also, since we are just complainers anyway: There is a huge discrepancy in the quality and cleanliness of rooms. Some rooms are lovely and clean. Other rooms seem rundown and don't receive enough attention from the housekeeping staff. Pillows are awful. They are hard and almost round. Usually, we just bring our own and don't make a big deal of it. Housekeeping is not thorough. I have washed other peoples pubic hair down the shower drain on more than one occasion, and bring my own lysol wipes to give the bathroom a once-over.

    « Outstanding service !! »

I made a reservation without inquiring about an accessible bathroom, so I managed one night with a regular bath. The next morning I asked if a handicapped room had been vacated. It had been, so they let me change rooms, even helped me make the move. Both rooms looked like the pictures on Best Western website.Beautiful rooms. I would highly recommend this property. Very pet friendly. FYI - I rarely, if ever, rate above 4 stars. They all go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Do I sound like a brochure? :-)

« The management has to be replaced »

Terrible. That's all that needs to be said! It was the worst food I have ever had! Managers where ridiculously rude! I will never go here again! I am a Diamond member with this company... Very Very uncomfortable stay! No vending that works, just not a good hotel

This property isn't like all the others. Enjoyed this stay in room 122. Consistently I stay at Hilton properties. Tonight at a Best Western. Pleasantly surprised on all aspects of this stay. Rooms area extraordinarily clean.

    « Nice decor »

Very nice room. Quiet. Didn't hear any other occupants during the night. There were a few little ants in bathroom but staff took care of immediately. Breakfast was free with room. It was excellent. Loved sausage gravy.

« Great place to stay gointo or coming from Oregon »

We booked the 2-bedroom suite. Although the suite only had 1 bath, the suite itself was very spacious and well appointed. While I slept through breakfast, my companion said it was an above average breakfast. I would recommend this motel.

    3
    « fine for a night »

Stayed here one night while passing through. When I checked in they asked if I wanted a smoking or non smoking room. I was surprised as I didn't think CA still had smoking motel rooms. The bed was fine. The best part was being within walking distance of a few places to eat and a diner next door for an early breakfast. Bed was fine.

    « superb beds »

If you like softer, comfortable, beds, this is the place to stay in Yreka! The King sized bed was unexpectedly comfortable for a regular BW hotel. Super place to take a break from the road, highly recommended.

    « Great Stay »

We called ahead while on a long drive and checked in around 10:45pm. Most of our information was taken over the phone so check in was quick. We were quite pleased with our room, it was located at a property around the corner, but the room was clean, new paint, huge, comfortable bed. We overslept and didn't make it down to the breakfast.

« Not bad and near several restaurants »

Stayed with two cats in pet friendly room. Smelled like wet dog by ok. Entryway tile was pretty dirty but rest of the room was clean. Very quiet with patio and dog walk area. Fridge very cold. Will stay again.

« Great place to stay »

We stayed here for a family function. The location was very convenient. Room / bed was very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was very good with an assortment of bagels, eggs, sausage, juices, coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful.

« Pet friendly, cold showers »

I know it's weird to give a hotel four stars when there was no hot water for showers in the morning, but any hotel that provides a clean, pet friendly hotel room automatically rates high. Yreka is a nice small town that shows those of us living in thriving cities that life doesn't always have to be about getting ahead. The town goes all out on holidays so try to stop in during one.

    5
    « We love the Miner's Inn »

When we travel to the bay area, Yreka is a good stopping point for us. Once we found the Best Western Miner's Inn, we won't stay anywhere else there. It is a clean, easy to find hotel with lots of options for food and fuel nearby.

    5
« Right off freeway and close to restaurants. »

Our stay was great. This hotel was used just as an overnight along our travels. Accommodations were comfortable and breakfast fine. Had firemen and guys on a motorcycle road trip. Everybody was very quite.

« Another good Best Western »

We normally stay at a BW while on the road, and this one was welcome after a 500+ mile trip and 100 degree weather. It is an older establishment, and while the room was small, it was well appointed. We were given a first floor room near a staircase, and I was worried about possible noise--never an issue. The room was somewhat crowded with a king bed, a dresser with TV/microwave/refrigerator, and a table and chairs. However, it was well laid out, and the back sliding door opened on to a shaded grassy area with a picnic table. My priority is always the bed and pillows, and these were perfect for a good night's sleep. On a driving trip, we usually carry our own pillows but did not need them. The bathroom was a good size with one sink and a decent counter area. The hotel is very close to an older quaint downtown area, and we walked and poked around after dinner. Breakfast the next morning included hot and cold items, something for everyone, and there were two dining areas and so not crowded. All the staff, front desk and breakfast room, were pleasant, professional, and efficient. Note that there is a Starbucks the next exit south, so we really had a good stay all the way around!

    5
    « Beautiful Setting »

Gorgeous countryside and lovely setting in the heart of Yreka. Wonderful assortment of restaurants nearby and quaint shops with very friendly people....can't wait to come back and spend a week exploring!

    4
« Not the most accessible »

Overall the hotel is fine, but the layout of the accessible bath in the room I had is really poor. No hook for a cane or robe outside the shower. The towel rack (with bathmat) is diagonally across the floor from the shower. No separate seating (outside the shower) for those of us not in a wheelchair but who cannot stand for long periods of time. Nowhere in the room is there a seat AND a plug AND a mirror (but that's sort of common). And the HVAC controls are on the far side and behind a table with no room for a wheelchair-bound person to get to them. Everything else about the hotel is fine, though. I'd probably stay here again.

    « Not number 1 »

TripAdvisor rated this #1 in this town. iI so I would not want to stay in the rest. The room was OK but is in need of updating of decor to feel more comfortable. It is a good location if you want to be in downtown Yreka but if you are just passing through and want a good bed with good feeling of being there, this isnt the place. Sorry, this best western wont see me again.

« Good basic motel style accommodations »

Very friendly staff and good basic rooms. A close walk to a couple of family restaurants and near enough to downtown to make for a pleasant evening walk. Only sticking point we had was a door to the outside corridor that kept getting stuck. You had to really pull hard to get it to close fully. The rooms were clean and well looked after (except for that door). The breakfast room was kept neat and tidy by a very hard working gal. We both agreed the selection was fresh, hot, and well presented. This place is a treat for somebody that has been on the road for a couple of weeks.

« Great motel - with or without pets »

We've stayed here twice on trips from Oregon back to San Francisco. First time without dogs, 2nd time with two small dogs. Both times this is the best motel we've stayed in. Very quiet rooms - lots of trucks outside this time, with I think firemen staying at motel, and can't hear any voices or engine noise when door is shut. Large rooms, big screen tv, clean and nice beds. This time we brought our two dogs and they have the nicest and cleanest grassy area for dogs very convenient to rooms. Nice staff and very reasonable price. We stop in Yreka instead of other towns on our way home just to stay in this motel.

« Excellent rooms! Nice price! »

I've been staying more and more at Best Westerns. I travel through California each month and I have been staying here at the Yreka Best Western. This particular Best Western is a very nice comfortable play to stay. The rooms have the doors that go directly to the outside, but the rooms are very nice. Clean hotel, new beds, new pillows, very clean. I would stay at this best western anytime. It's a wonderful and cozy room to stay in and if you have the air flowing, you don't hear much outside. Very nice.

« Great Staff and lovely hotel »

We had been driving since 3:30 in the morning only to find that I had made a reservation for the following day when we arrived. The wonderful woman at the desk made it all better in no time. We had a lovely, clean room and were showered and in bed almost asleep by 7 pm. Great place with a friendly and efficient staff!

    4
    « good breakfast selection »

This hotel has expanded to a large 'campus'--even has a children's play area. However, even though we were in one of the newer buildings, the fridge in our room barely worked. This was a disappointment, as I had wine to chill before our trip south thru the Sacramento valley. Breakfast was pretty good, with selection of some hot foods (eggs, sausage, waffles).

    5
« Best in their name for a reason! »

Our stay was wonderful. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, high speed internet, very nice breakfast, place to walk the dog and reasonably priced. I wanted to stay one more night! Unfortunately had to go home.

« I think it is under renovation. »

The part we stayed in was acquired by Best Western quite recently, we were told. The floor quaked when we walked across it and it was obvious that there had been water damage to the ceiling. The office staff were quite cordial and knowledgeable about restaurants in the area. I would stay there again, but I'd want to see the room first.

    5
« Great Place in Small Town »

Yreka is a town that has seen better times but you wouldn't know it from both Miners Inn and Strings Italian Restaurant (see review). The motel is large. the people at the desk are warm, helpful, caring and the breakfasts are good. The rooms are good sized, well equipped and very clean. The staff is more than willing to assist handicapped guests and the price is right.

    5
« Great place to stay »

This BW costs a bit more but is well worth it. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff very helpful and the breakfast is a really nice one with eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, etc. I appreciated that when we requested it, we were able to get a room on the first floor and when I phoned the front desk for assistance with the wi-fi, the lady at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful.

« Excellent location and quality »

We stayed one night here in September 2016. We like Best Westerns and this one was up to their usual quality. The room was spacious and had been updated recently. We had a king size bed and the bath had double sinks. The room was clean and functional - and that's what we were looking for. Also, the rates were very reasonable at around $100 per night. The location is great - right off of I-5 and within walking distance to local restaurants. They also offer a complementary hot breakfast, although we just had coffee.

    5
    « Passin' through »

Very nice, clean and quiet. The furnishings are just like home or better....Very comfortable bed. Could not ask for a better place. Dining is close by, so is the freeway, but you would not know it. No highway noise at all.

« Excellent stay in Yreka »

This is a great place to stay when you are traveling to Yreka. Don't let the outside or exterior of the place intimidate you. My room upstairs was immaculate with nice patio view. The freeway is not too far but with the patio door closed, you can barely hear the traffic. Housekeeping was top notch and with impeccable attention to detail. When I first walked in to my room, I was thoroughly impressed.

    4
    « Great Accommodations »

Our family stayed here as we passed through California on our recent summer trip. We had a family suite that included two private bedrooms, a kitchenette, clean bathroom and living area. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast included real scrambled eggs. A perfect place to stay if passing through.

    « Great Yreka find! »

We were on a road trip to Portland and found this gem through your site. We liked it so much we stayed there again on our way back home. It is near the highway without associated traffic noise. The Inn is very large and well maintained. The rooms are clean, modern, comfortable and roomy. There is a hot breakfast included with the room. Many options from cereal to eggs, sausage and waffles. The front office staff is friendly and helpful. If you arrive early enough, there are fresh baked cookies in the lobby!

    « Traveling through. . . »

We are on our way from San Francisco Bay Area to Portland. This Best Western is just off I-5, convenient on and off the highway. Hotel is clean and well maintained. If you need to stop in Yreka and not wishing to roll the dice on lodging this might be the place for you. Restaurants and historic downtown are all within walking distance. After hours of driving, walking was just the order for us since we were suffering from numbess rumpess.

« Best one in Yreka »

Great staff and huge rooms. We got in a little earlier then our check in time but they didn't make us wait, our room was ready. The room had a very new feel to it, Someone takes pride in this place, parking area was very clean and WiFi worked well. I would stay here again.

« Good stopping point after a long day on the road »

This hotel is a good stop during a road trip. It is clean and the rooms are very spacious. We were placed at the Miners property behind the BW section, and it felt a little removed. The cont breakfast was busy, but plentiful and the staff worked hard to restock the food. We didn't use the pool this time, but we had in the past and the kids loved being able to cool off.

    « Surprisingly beautiful! »

Our first stop on a 2 week vacation was here at the Best Western, Miners Inn. The rooms were superb, clean, spacious and we had a nice grassy area with picnic tables behind our room. The continental breakfast was more like a full breakfast with many delicious options, such as fresh made waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, an assortment of fresh fruits, muffins, sweet rolls, juices and coffee. The staff were very nice and accommodating, had many recommendations for area eateries and how to return to the freeway. We made a same day reservation on our trip home because it was so nice, but once we arrived, Kyle at the front desk informed us that all of north Yreka was under an evacuation notice due to a nearby fire, so Kyle called Medford for us and made our reservation there. Overall very clean and very friendly.

    « Simple Superb!! »

We stopped by at this Motel on our way back from Crater Lake visit for next day Burney Falls and Mt. Shasta visits. This place is very conveniently located next to I-5. The room we stayed at had a beautiful swimming pool view and was very neat and clean. Everything is very well organized in the room. Pool area is very clean too. The Motel itself is very huge and ample space for parking. Morning breakfast was delicious as well. We will definitely stay at this location in future visits. There are ample restaurants around for lunch/ dinner.

« Some minor functionings overshadowed overall room quality »

We arrived early, about one o'clock and were told our room wasn't ready yet. This wasn't unexpected as check-in wasn't until three. We dallied in town and came back about and hour and a half later and our room was ready. The room looked very nice, very clean and very well taken care of when we first entered. The bed was very comfy and four very large pillows were on the bed. Two were soft and fluffy and two were very firm. So we had a choice. The room was roomy and had a nice table with two chairs, a desk and an office chair, nightstands, TV stand which hid a small refrigerator, microwave and three drawers for clothing. There was also a standing alone closet with additional drawers and a place to hang your clothes. Their were two side-by-side sinks that were easily accessible so one person didn't have to wait for the other to finish before using. The bathroom was room, the tub was clean and had a wonderful shower head. We loaded up our beverages into the refrigerator, making sure to turn it up all the way. We noticed right away that the toilet flushed and filled very slowly. We called maintenance and they said they would send someone up right away. While waiting, one of the casters on one of the chairs came off as my wife was sitting in it. The castor base had pulled half way out of the leg and the castor fell off entirely. The maintenance man came and fixed the toilet by making some adjustments. He replaced the chair with another one. We explored the town and did some shopping and came back after a couple hours and pulled a couple bottles of water from our refrigerator. We noticed that they bottles weren't cool even after about three hours. I took the small ice chest we had to get some ice to cool our drinks. My wife went to the office to tell them about the refrigerator. When we got back to the room, we got a call from the office and they said they would give us a good break on the room, which they did. We hadn't asked this, but they volunteered which was very nice of them. The refrigerator was starting to cool at about 8, but still wasn't cold, and hadn't really gotten cold until the next morning. Not a real problem, because we had our ice chest. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet and we got a great nights sleep. Couldn't ask for a more comfortable bed. We went down to breakfast. Best Westerns usually have a full breakfast bar and this one did, too. It was late in the morning, about 9am when we arrived. Still plenty off fresh scrambled eggs and sausages were available, along with biscuits and gravy. The waffle makers were ready for use, so I filled them with batter. All-in-all, we had a nice breakfast for no extra charge, so we can't really complain about the messiness of the self service buffet. It could have been a bit cleaner, but was okay. Overall, a positive experience except for the few minor inconveniences. We would stay here again.

« Convenient Location Great Staff and Pet Friendly »

Each summer when we drive from SoCal to Seattle for a month, this is our stopping point about half way there. Because we are traveling with our yellow lab, Coba, we need to stay in a pet friendly location. This place will not disappoint. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, they have a nice property which is great for the dogs, and the free breakfast is great.

    « Convenient location »

Stopped here on my way back to Socal from Oregon. It was conveniently located close to the freeway. But it wasn't noisy. For a quick overnight stop, the room was clean and staff was nice. Breakfast in the morning was stacked with eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. I would stop here again if I need to. Pet friendly, which is why I booked it :)

« Charming "old fashion" exterior with modern upgrades inside! »

We have stayed at this hotel before on our drives from CA to OR so we looked forward to stopping by there again. It is a 2-story motel with an old-school look but the rooms are completed updated and modern with elegant wood accents. It had all the amenities; wifi, refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV, hot breakfast included. I actually thought this was a BW Plus it offered so much. (There is a conference center area for meetings next to it too.) The motel was completely full but we didn't hear any noise from neighbors or overhead. Super easy access to Hwy 5 freeway, gas stations and walking to several restaurants.

« Clean, delightful staff, great quick breakfast, quiet close to restaurants downtown »

We stay here everytime we head north and south because it is so convenient and clean. Very well run with nice staff and clean rooms and lobby and breakfast room. We especially love the location because it is so close to the Italian and Mexican restaurants downtown. Nice walking area too. Lots of parking on inside parking lot making it more secure.

    « Really Nice »

We stayed at the Best Western Miner's Inn on our way to Lincoln City, Oregon. The reception area was nicely decorated and my wife and I were impressed with the friendliness of the young lady who checked us in. Unfortunately the room provided to us did not have a fully functioning air conditioner unit. It was about 100 degrees outside. We called the desk and were promptly moved to another room. Everything was fine. The king sized bed was comfortable. The unit had a fairly large refrigerator and a microwave. The tub and toilet were in a small room separated from the two sinks and mirror. The room was very clean. The hotel seems to have been built some time ago but the room we had appeared to be upgraded not long ago. The breakfast provided was good with scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, cereals, bagels, etc. available. We were traveling with our toy poodle. There was a grassy area right across from our room with doggy bags available. Very convenient. A nice hotel. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Friendly staff and reasonable rates.

    « Pleasant! »

Large BW Property. Check in and check out was friendly. We had a room facing the creek. Unfortunately the freeway is above the creek but the noise didn't bother us. The room seemed clean. It was a large room with a sink inside and outside of the bathroom. (Very much appreciated!). The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was quite good, many options. I've stayed here several times before and will stay again if and when in town.

« Wonderful Place to Stay! »

We stayed a week in this hotel and it was great. The staff is excellent and the lobby is decorated to reflect the town. Our room was by the creek and in the morning there would always be deer to see. The staff took care of our needs with a smile and "can I get you anything else?" The coffee was always on and breakfast was always on time. Best stay in here if you go to Yreka!

    « Comfortable and affordable! »

Really enjoyed my stay here. The rates were very reasonable, the room well appointed, quiet and comfortable and the staff very helpful, kind and efficient. The air conditioner worked well; doesn't always happen in hotels and it was in the high 90's when I arrived. I would stay here again in a minute.

    « This picture is a suite. »

It looks like the room I stayed in with my sister and her husband this weekend. Very comfy!! Two bedrooms, 1.5 bath, kitchenette, living room and dining table. We took advantage of their continental breakfast. Also ate at Poor George's and Purple Plum. Miner's Inn is the best!!

« Home away from Home »

This Hotel here in Yreka is the best! We had the unpleasant task of having to go to San Diego for a couple weeks of helping go through and prepare for an estate sale after losing a family member. and we stayed here on our way down and back again. After a very rough few weeks away from home, and knowing we only had a day left to go. When we got into our room at the Miners Inn I felt, at least spirituality, like I was already home. We got the creek side room again this time and decided to ask for one of these rooms every time. Its SO nice to be able to park right in front of your room, (Extra good for us this time, Our car was FULL full, and we wanted to keep an eye on it.) and have the beautiful view of the green and the stream on the back side of your room. The breakfast is always good too. So If your looking for a place to stay in the beautiful Shasta Valley, come stay at my house, a.k.a. The Best Western Miners Inn.

Stay at this motel every trip north or south on I-5. Always satisfied with staff and rooms. Lots of services nearby, very easy access to and from freeway. Have recommended this facility to family and friends making the same trip

« Great hotel that allows pets »

We use this hotel every year that we drive from Hermosa Beach to Seattle. Its a great half way point for us, and they welcome our dog, Coba who is a 80 pound lab. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is a great added bonus. Its a no frills hotel, in a small town with limited dining options but we will continue to stay here on our drives to and from Seattle.

    3
    « Meh »

First off the picture of the room for this page for sure isn't a picture of any the rooms there. Its a best western so I don't expect much, but I do expect they clean the rooms, which they didn't a couple of times. Its close to restraunts like the purple plumb and strings so that kinda makes up for it I guess.

    4
    « Always stay here »

Staff are always friendly and the room is always clean and comfortable. We have never had a problem with anything. I would like them to add a guest laundry room. I cannot think of anything else I would add.

    4
« Great Hotel Bad Area »

Staff is great and rooms are large and very clean. However the entire town is very scary and would never want to be out anywhere after dark. Lots of homeless that were not only fighting with each other but trying to pick fights and yell at every one they saw, even right in front of restaurants and gas stations. They were also camped out in the little park and playground on the hotel site right by the rooms. Would stay in another town next time.

    4
« Breakfast, dog friendly, historic town »

Very nice place to stop on the trip from Seattle to Southern California. Great full breakfast with everything you could want. Pet friendy. Desk staff was very helpful. Bed was comfortable. Yreka is a very charming, walkable town with an interesting history.

    5
    « Better than expected! »

This was not my first choice, but I am so glad I stayed here. I got a really large room with 2Q beds, microwave, refrig and extra large vanity. A/C worked great! Shower was very good and beds were comfy. The room was very clean and also included a desk and office chair with plenty of electrical and usb outlets. Breakfast was very nice and staff were caring and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again as my first choice! It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but rooms are much nicer than you would expect.

« looking for value and easy acess off of freeway »

We had a king bed no smoking room , the price was was a good value using my AAA plus it was one half block off the I-5 So. freeway easy on and off. The breakfast was good not much room to sit but it had a very good selection of things did not try any other amenities.

« Nice Room for An Overnight Stop »

We drive from California to Seattle several times each year usually stopping for one night each way. On our latest trip we stayed here for a night. At first I was put off by the exterior which is quite dated and dominated by an enormous parking lot. We decided to try it anyway based on the TA reviews. We got an upstairs king room facing the "so called creek". The room was very spacious, very clean and decorated nicely, although not my style. The sheets and towels were of good quality and there is a mini fridge and microwave. A good size balcony faces the highway but there is vegetation in between so that you don't really see the cars zipping by, but you do hear them if the sliding door is open. The creek is basically a slightly enhanced drainage ditch. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep. The air conditioner was very loud, difficult to get the temperature adjusted and should be replaced. The front desk staff are very nice and efficient and the breakfast was a bit better than the usual. Considering the price this is a good place to stay a night while traveling.

    « Pet Friendly-Clean-Quiet »

Excellent location. Our room met our expectations for an overnight. Our small dog (10#) was accepted without question. Plenty of nice green lawn area complete with clean up bags and receptacle. Large parking area. Nicely set up breakfast area, although we grabbed food & ate in the lobby to avoid taking dog into the food area. Bed fine, TV large and nice, bathroom clean and nicely arranged. Very close to the restored historical downtown district. A pet friendly restaurant 3 short blocks away (we did not visit but it is there). Only downside was the ice machine was located a long way from our room. Definitely on our list for next time through.

    5
    « Always good »

Even though we would prefer to travel a little further the first day we are returning home, we ALWAYS stop an hour or so earlier to stay at the BW in Yreka. IMHO, they are , hands down, the BEST motel we stay at.

    5
« Feels like staying with family »

We have stayed at the Best Western Miner's Inn many times. We have stayed there so many time we were able to use our free nights, going and coming from our trip to the Oregon coast. After a fun time in Oregon, we are always a little tired driving home. We can hardly wait to get to the Miner's Inn. We always get a nice smile, a clean room and a great bed. We have stayed there so many times that it feels like staying with family. We both enjoy the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. We would never think of staying anywhere else.

    3
    « Typical Best Western »

Trip advisor let us down on this one. The rating was #1 in Yreka and that does not bode well for the rest of the lodging in town. The staff have been friendly and fairly helpful, but our first room assignment had a puddle of water from a leaking toilet and our 2nd room was not so clean and the refrigerator did not work. The wall air conditioner (it's 100 degrees today) sounds like a jet taking off when it clicks on. We have a creek side room with a patio and grass space but can't see the creek and it kind of smells like stagnant water. The place is not horrible, but just not as nice as Trip Advisor reviews made it sound.

    « Yreka stay »

Made advanced reservations at this BW online and BW website several days before arriving. Got confirmation for King Bed on "creek side" of motel, which has a sitting area. Upon arrival I checked in, which was fast. However, upon arriving at our room we noted that we had a two bed Queen room on the "non-creek side", with no patio area. I returned to office and upon examination of my printed confirmation receipt clerk found she "had made a mistake" and provided us a King, creek side room. Room was clean and in order. Bed was large and comfortable. Room includes small fridge and microwave, which is always a plus. Noted that although we did have a small patio, there were no chairs for the sitting area. As a matter of fact, I saw that none of the downstairs rooms had chairs available, only the second floor rooms. Parking is plentiful and not an issue. Location of motel is easy on/off I5, and located near numerous restaurants/stores, as well as downtown. Check out was non-eventful. Would recommend a stay here and will return when in area.

« Clean and Comfortable Stsy »

This motel is a gem. Everything about it made it the perfect place to stop after a long day of driving. The room was immaculate and the breakfast had many offerings. The staff at the front desk and the dining room was professional and friendly.

« Golden Stay in Gold Country »

This is my second stay at this Best Western. I have found the staff, room and Breakfast to be top notch. It was easy to get to coming off and getting onto I-5, along with gas stations right across the street. There is a wonderful Italian Restaurant (Strings) just down the street within walking distance. This hotel is in a great location.

    « Bed and a breakfast »

Right off Interstate 5 and within walking distance to restaurants, this is a convenient place to pull off the road for the night. They gave me a military discount. Full breakfast served from 6am till 9:30am, included with the room. Room was clean and comfortable. Room had small refrigerator and microwave oven. Good wi-fi.

    « Charming country experience »

Enjoyed staying at this location. It typified the lovely aesthetic of the community. The friendly staff were professional and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent, various choices to accommodate every pallet. The value was worth the price.

    « A good sleep midway on the I-5. »

Traveled from Napa to Yrika in 5.5 hours and found a a spacious, clean room with two comfortable queen sized beds. There was a pool here but did not use it. Compared to other Best Westerns the furniture was great -- looked new. Carpet was new and the room was twice the size of other Best Western rooms I've stayed at. The complimentary breakfast included scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages and a toasted English muffin. Good value and a great night's sleep. d a caring staff with a great place for dogs to walk at night. The room was quiet in the night for good sleeping.

    « Best Western - Good Choice »

I have stayed at this BW in the past and also stayed at the Baymont Inn and Suites in town. I prefer BW - cleaner, close to restaurants, more comfortable. Good place when we travel with dogs. A plus is the Purple Plum restaurant across the street - good food, service and reasonable prices.

    5
    « Nice stay »

Nice place to stay if your traveling to or from Oregon, breaks up the drive. Hotel is in older part of town with a lot of history. Went for a walk uptown, was a little late in the afternoon and most of the stores were closed but there are some restaurants there to eat or just a short drive up I5.

    « Large room! »

Stayed here on our trip down to California. There were two sections to this place, the main one you see when you check in, and another one half a block away, where we got sent. The second section must have been a different motel many years back which BW bought. The rooms in this section are very big! I liked that. Also it did look very clean and recently remodeled. Each section had its own pool as well. Ours was nice, but quiet. Not many people seemed to be in our section, was kind of lonely. But, too far a walk to go over to the other pool. Kind of on the side of both sections was a small park with playground equipment for little kids. Nice touch. One annoying thing was that the breakfast room was back in the main section, too far a walk to just stroll over after waking up and grab something. So, we drove over there. And it was very small and super crowded, no place left to sit. You'd think there's be another breakfast area for the second section available. All in all, not a bad place. But next time I think I will try and request a room in the main section.

« Eureka! or maybe Yreka »

Best Western Miner's Inn is a fantastic place to stay. The staff is caring and helpful, the rooms are quite nice, the breakfast is excellent and there are 3 other restaurant choice within a very short walk. Yreka is a great little town, the "downtown" is just a 3 minute walk up the street. I highly recommend !

    « Great Family Suite! »

The Family Suite appears to be newly renovated and is nicely appointed, with 2 bedrooms, each with a king size bed and a living room with a pull out sofa bed. There are desks in each bedroom and a kitchenette with a small dining table. There is a small playground for the kids. Definitely the place to stay on CA/OR border!

    5
« Creekside rooms are the best! »

We have stayed at this motel about eight times over the past 10 years on our way back and forth to visit family in California. We've always had a pleasant stay in clean rooms with comfortable beds and nice amenities. There's a nice shady picnic area with a gazebo and playground. The 1st floor creek side rooms have picnic tables on a lawn just outside the rooms. The complementary breakfast includes make-your-own waffles, toast, english muffins, biscuits, cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice etc. - Quite yummy. The front desk staff have always been friendly and helpful. We'll probably be staying here again in the years to come.

« Great Place To Stay in Yreka »

We have had to travel several times to the Bay Area from Portland, OR for family reasons, and don't like to drive the trip straight down. Yreka is just about 1/2 way, so we take off after work and it makes the drive a lot easier. We found the Best Western Miner's Inn by accident - and a very great choice! The rooms we've stayed in (yep, stayed multiple times!) are very clean, spacious and updated. The beds are very comfortable. We've been pleased to have a nice working space in the room as well, and two chairs, so we don't have to sit on the bed. The breakfast is very good, a bit expanded from the standard "free" breakfast. And they serve until 10, which is later than most! The staff are all very nice, and their lobby is actually open so that when we get in at 2 or 3 in the morning (not intentional, but that's how it always seems to go), we get to speak face to face, instead of thru a tiny hole in a window. The "River Front" rooms are very nice - they face the freeway, but we've never found them to be terribly noisy. The rates for the rooms are very reasonable, particularly when booking last minute! Definitely recommend this place if you're needing to stay in Yreka!

    4
    « Quite and clean »

Great room that was clean. There wasn't a lot of noise during the night and we couldn't hear other guests' TVs in the rooms next to us. Staff was very friendly. The location is convenient, right off of HWY 5. Head across the street to the Purple Plum for breakfast. Also very friendly and decent food.

« Worst Best Western Experience Ever! »

Made a reservation a few days in advance requesting handicapped accessible room or downstairs as my husband had a stroke and has mobility difficulties. I was told no guarantee, but probably not a problem. Arrived at 3:00 and waited 30 minutes while desk clerk worked on reservation problem with guest who arrived ahead of us. Clerk did not acknowledge us waiting. A second desk clerk arrived , and did not acknowledge us either. A I was getting up from a chair to speak to the second desk clerk when a gentleman entered from another doorway and walked up to the desk ahead of me. I sat back down to wait for the either one to finish. The first desk clerk then finished with the lady she was helping and walked out even before I could address her. I walked up to the desk as she was walking out the door, and then she asked if I needed help. When asked about the first floor room or handicapped accessible room, she said all she had was second floor without an elevator. I asked if there was anyway she could possibly get us a first floor room. She said, "No, not at this time, but maybe later in the day." We were not going to wait until later in the day to see if someone would possibly change rooms with us." I said, "Let me talk to my husband." I went back to the chair and the desk clerk that was helping us walked out of the building. We were so dissatisfied with the lack of concern or care and rudeness of the desk clerk that we decided to would not stay at this hotel. The second desk clerk had to call a manager to make sure the refund was issued correctly back to our credit card. The young manager who came out from the back acknowledged to the clerk that the refund was correct. He offered no apologies nor spoke to me. We drove an additional 70 minutes to Redding and had a lovely stay at the Oxford Inn and Suites. Save your time and money and drive south to Redding where your patronage is appreciated.

« A Good Choice for an Overnight Stay for Travelers »

We have stayed at this hotel several times on our travels along I-5 from California to Oregon. The hotel is quaint, always clean and the price is great. Staff is friendly and professional. The continental breakfast offers cereal, toast, eggs, yogurt and fruit but the waffle maker is favorite usual choice. Easy access to the freeway, close to a diner, convenience store and gas station. A short walk to downtown Yreka for other restaurants.

I have always tried to stay at Best Western in the U.S. as typically is very updated with a good staff. Normally very clean for a reasonable price. Breakfast is better than others. Typically has a nice workout room, pool and spa.

    « better than expected »

Dad's creekside room was nice. Our room was huge. Maids did a good job of cleaning, but did not restock several items. The vending machine was stocked incorrectly. Gave me Gatorade instead of water. We would stay here again.

    « Great find! »

We were on the road when we decided that it was too late to drive to our original destination in central Oregon. We found the Best Western Miner's Inn and were happy with the entire experience. The rooms are quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable, and there was a fridge and microwave in the room. This is a pet friendly hotel, with a nice grassy area for your dogs. The parking area is huge, and the hotel is set off the road, so there's little, if any noise. They serve a hot breakfast that's included in the price of the stay. This hotel is definitely a winner!

« Review of Best Western Miner's Inn, Yreka »

The desk clerk allowed us to check in a little early. The housekeeping staff checked in with us to make certain that the room was satisfactory (it was!) We had a creekside room and adirondack chairs were provided upon our request. Our 3 night stay could not have been better. We are former Yrekans and are very proud of "our" Miner's Inn! Clean and very comfortable. We will be back.

This was one of the Best Hotels I have stayed at. The Breakfast Girl was friendly and right on top of stuff. The breakfast was cooked perfect. « Love the Miner's Inn »

I have stayed at the Miner's Inn at least 10 times and have never had a bad stay. I would recommend the Miner's Inn to anyone wanting a comfortable, pleasant place to stay. The creekside rooms offer a nice patio along the Shasta River.

    « Small town treasure »

This BW is delightful! Lots of parking. Quiet. Walk to eateries. Clean, large room, comfortable bed. Good-sized breakfast area off the lobby with many selections. We stayed in a creekside room, which overlooked picnic tables and shade trees! There is a pool (we didn't use it but it looked fine). I would have liked a stronger reading light by the bed. Otherwise, great. A restful stop!

    « Excellent Choice!! »

We did a very late at night check in and the staff at the front desk were extremely pleasant. Property was very well kept and our room was very large and perfectly clean and nice. We enjoyed the free continental breakfast which was typical fare but also had biscuits and gravy which was a added bonus, especially for my teen grandson. I only wish we could have arrived earlier in the evening to have been able to enjoy more.

    5
« Happy with this hotel »

Double QN room was very spacious. For an extra $10, we received a patio out to a grassy area for the dog where poop bags were supplied and the area was clean. Even had picnic benches. My kids loved the 2 pools, even though it was rainy and they were kinda cold. They also had a nice playground and large patch of grass to play frisbee, or whatever. Truly was not what I was expecting for a Best Western. They also have a better breakfast consisting of biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs and bacon, not just your average carb overload with waffles, toast, bagels, pastries, and cereal. They provided more than what I'm putting down here. Plenty of variety for everyone.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

This is more of a motel, not a hotel. No worries though as it is very nice. The rooms were not decorated in your typical hotel style. The furniture was more like something you would have in your home. Only issue was that when I reserved the room the website asked me if I wanted a creek view and I replied yes. Did not get it. OK though since we were only there for a good nights sleep. Had to walk outside to get to breakfast. Breakfast area was very nice and selection was good.

    « Surprisingly good »

My son and I spent the night here on a trip south to California. Upon pulling into the parking lot, I was somewhat disappointed to see it was an old style motel/hotel with access to the rooms from the parking spaces. Check-in was fast and professional. My big surprise was the rooms. It was obvious they had very recently been totally redone and refurbished. The rooms were modern and the carpets, drapes, paint on the walls, bathroom counter, etc. all appeared to be brand new. The refurbishing is one of the better jobs I have seen. The rooms are large and actually have two different basins and counter with large lighted mirrors. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right off the freeway and it was very quiet. The free breakfast was standard Best Western fare. Having said that, they seemed to have done a little better job at it than most. The dining area was also new and well done. I would not hesitate to stay here again next time I am through that area.

This was an older motel, but well kept. The rooms were nice and big and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was very good. Only part I didn't like was that the cleaning staff started early and woke us up long before we had intended to get up. I felt that they should have waited on cleaning rooms until a little later in the day. Other than this, it was a lovely hotel.

« Clean, Comfortable, Well Maintained »

This is the place to stay when in Yreka. The location can't be beat and the rooms are very, very nice. Very clean and well maintained, friendly staff, easy parking and pretty quiet. You can walk to many restaurants, including those on Miner street. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

    « Exceptional! »

Best Western Miner's Inn is an old motor type motel/hotel. BW did an outstanding job refurbishing the property making it a jewel in Yreka, California. You will be surprised when you enter your room and see the lovely decor. The bed was comfortable and it's also pet friendly. All the staff were friendly and informative of the area. Bravo!

    « Super Clean »

Stayed here one night on our way back to California. It's very clean and the rooms are comfy and large. The breakfast is good, I had English muffins (best one I had on the trip), sausages and eggs and juice. They have waffles, coffee, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy too. I'd definitely stay here again to break up my trip.

« A good stop over on the way to Portland. »

This hotel is fairly large. Everything is two stories. Lots of parking space. A couple of blocks to little downtown Yreka. On Sundays, everything is closed up except for a Little Italian restaurant which is the only thing open on a Sunday. The breakfast is fairly good. Scrambled eggs and sausage with biscuits and gravy, waffle maker and toaster. All the usual stuff for breakfast. The only thing bad was the Wi-Fi that didn't work. I could get Wi-Fi but I could not get the Internet. Thank goodness I brought along my own Wi-Fi Internet connection. Even though the freeway is just a half a block away, it's still fairly quiet here. They have two swimming pools. One in the middle of the complex where they have family rooms and the other is located way up front by the office. The one by the office doesn't have a time limit since it's away from all the rooms. It's a good stop over if you're on your way north or south on Interstate five. The next exit south of here has all the eateries both fast food and good restaurants. It's about a mile away.

« Excellent and Clean Room »

I was very pleased with this room. The room was large and had plenty of space on the counters in the bathroom. A very quiet and clean room. We would stay there again if traveling through Yrika, California

    « Worth the Stay »

Good clean rooms and hotel well located; close to the freeway and a 'wanna be' chic downtown, Breakfast nothing home to write about, not too many healthy options. Very much a run of the mill BW breakfast offering Good for an overnight stay or perhaps a few days at the maximum. Watch out for the pillows!

« Great place to stay »

We enjoyed our stay. The property was easily accessible from freeway, the parking lot was very generous. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The service was friendly and professional at all levels. We received an upgraded room, which didn't amount to much but was appreciated. The breakfast was better than average and there was room to sit. The hotel is within walking distance to all services in town and there are some nice places to eat. The only negative is the room was a little over furnished so it was crowded with two pieces of luggage and the pillows were a little hard.

    « Great find »

This was a surprise. We have relied on "Best Western" for consistency, clean, value... Miners Inn is all that and MUCH MORE. Physically very attractive, large pool, excellent patio area with fountain and fire pit.... A hidden jewel that we would highly recommend .

    5
    « GREAT VALUE! »

I stay here several times each year. It's the most convenient hotel immediately off the freeway. It's clean, comfortable, typically quiet, convenient and cheap. Wifi is very reliable and the breakfast is a bit better than the typical hotel breakfast bar. There are some good restaurants and the historic part of town VERY close. There is also a Starbucks and Black Bear Diner at the other end of twon right off the freeway.

    5
    « Best in town! »

Best place in Yreka. Within walking distance of Historic downtown and local eateries. Nice views, great pet areas, well kept grounds. It is easy to find and well maintained. Great stopping point on long road trips.

« Clean Hotel, Friendly Staff »

Good Best Western with nice clean rooms, and close to Miner Street where you'll find a few good restaurants within walking distance. The only problem we had was our room on the ground floor. The guests on either side of us wanted to visit with each other and did so right outside our room. They weren't rowdy but we could hear every word, and they didn't move on when we let them know we were trying to sleep. Despite these inconsiderate clods, we would recommend this hotel for a one or two night stay.

« Clean room, and very nice staff »

Just a great place to spend the night while on our road trip. It is also really nice to have a good breakfast provided by the Inn... Location is just off of I-5, with lots of parking. The only strange this was, there was 5 decaf coffees, and only 2 regular. I'd think half and half would have been better.

    5
    « Stay Creekside »

I have stayed here before about 3 years ago and that was on and off for about a year while working in Yreka. If you stay her ask for second floor creek side. In the spring the fragrance of the flowers from and the trickle of the creek are relaxing, In the fall you might see deer bedding down near the creek. you can walk from your room up Miner street and visit historic old town Yreka. Alas since last stay several of my favorite restaurants are no longer there however Minghs Chinese Restaurant is excellent.

    5
« ONE OF THE BEST BEST WESTERN »

Clean room and very well furnished. It felt like a high end european hotel. Easy to find location near Highway 5. i didn't notice any traffic noise or other guest noises. We will stay here again on our next trip to Oregon!

    5
    « Clean and comfortable »

Stayed here while visiting family. Booked a room for one night over the phone with a very helpful staff member. Ended up staying two nights as there was availability and the property was to my satisfaction. I didn't need anything fancy, just clean and safe. Room and property were clean and updated. The internet worked well and the breakfast was very good. The pool area next to the office looked very inviting but it was still too cold too cold to go in. I'll be staying here again on my next visit to town.

    4
    « Spacious room »

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Hotel is located just next to the highway, with two petrol kiosk just outside, excellent for driving trip. It is also within walking distant to the Yreka historic town. Good location. Price are considered acceptable, although the I won't call it cheap, about USD140

    5
    « Friendly »

I enjoy staying at this motel in Yreka, CA. It has a great location for walking and sightseeing. There are several streets with restored Victorian homes in the neighborhood. It is comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also allow dogs to stay.

« Really Good Stopping Place »

After 800 miles of travel, we were disappointed to find the hotel we usually stay at on our way back home from Ca. for the winter was booked, we tried this BW in Yreka, Ca. To be honest, it was just fair in appearance and I was less than thrilled to see quite a number of people with dogs. I have had bad experiences trying to sleep in rooms near dogs. BUT to our surprise, not only was the room comfortable and clean but we didn't hear a thing all night. It was quiet! Our breakfast in the morning was quite good, with a nicely appointed breakfast room and a smiling staff member keeping it well stocked. Lastly, as we prepared to leave my husband was trying to clean our windshield and a staff member named Robin, came out and offered him a nice size rag, hot water and window cleaner!! Now you just can't get better service than that. Besides having a great smile and sunshiny personality, we agreed, next time we head south, we will stay here. Thanks Yreka!

« Great Pet Friendly Hotel »

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay if you have a pet traveling with you. Out back there is a park like area to walk the dog. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to check road conditions for us. The rooms are nice and spacious and very well kept up. The easy access from the freeway and the ample parking make this a great place to stay.

    « Best Western Review »

This is a very nice motel and everything about it is to our satisfaction. It is convenient on our travel schedule for the time of day to stop. We like to have the ground floor and that has always been available. The breakfasts are always good and we like the choices being served. We were advised about a local restaurant for dinner and given 10% off with our room key at that venue.

    4
« Good Stop Over between Cali and Oregon »

As mentioned in previous postings, a clean, well located hotel fora fair price. Breakfast needs improvement and made my recommendations to BW. Powdered eggs, overdone bacon, and runny waffle mix leave a bad taste in my mouth lol! Rooms are nice, bed comfy, and couple of good restaurants right across the street..Try to get a room off the street though, traffic noise was a problem.

« Nice hotel that they are updating to keep it nice. »

A good Best Western Hotel that is really nice Was able to park right in front of my room and that is a plus for me. Room was good and had updated everything that was inside. Shower was better then normal, TV was new, microwave and refrigerator both work and bed was really nice. Slept all night.

    4
    « consistently good »

We stop here once a year when we travel through the area. As usual, our creekside room had a very comfortable king bed. Even though we were in a downstairs room next to a stairwell, we never heard anyone walking above us and the room was quiet until a dog next door started barking at 6.30 am. We didn't try the breakfast. Lots of parking for big vehicles.

    5
    « Love this hotel! »

Have stayed here before and will stay again! Awesome value, great location and friendly, accommodating staff. The rooms are spacious, beds are super comfy and the full breakfast rocks. We brought our dogs along and there are plenty of places on the hotel grounds to walk them. Wish we could have stayed longer.

« Best Western Miners Inn Yreka, CA »

Great staff and clean rooms and mostly quiet crowd. Dirty ice water pool and no hot tub. Now over $100 per night! This motel needs to provide some amenites for the high price tag. A heated and clean pool would be nice. Needs a hot tub also.

    5
    « Big room/small town »

Wow...what a great nights sleep in an excellent room. Price was great for all the amenities. Would rate a 10 if available. Tons of parking and 6 great eateries within walking distance or 5 minutes. Right off I-5.....................................Book it. You will have a great stay.

    3
« a satisfactory stop along the road »

If you are making the long haul between points in California and the Northwest, this stop along the highway in Yreka is an easy in and out stop. Fairly priced, this is typical Best Western. The hotel exterior is off-putting, but the room interiors are nicer than the exterior. The breakfast is full of carbs- breads, cereals and biscuits and gravy. They have a nice area to walk your dog and a reasonable $15 dog fee.

    5
« Great place to stay. »

High quality linens and mattress. ALL linens changed out after use. Very clean rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast included. Pet friendly. Picnic/play area. Restaurants and old downtown area within walking distance. Easy freeway on and off. I will stay again.

    3
« High Price - Average to Poor Quality »

The room rate was among the highest in the city, but the rooms were older, window unit provided heat, although the bed was comfortable. Service was OK and internet worked well. Rate was advertised with a full breakfast, but was mostly continental. Eggs appeared to be powdered and the only meat available were cold, sausages. Wound up going to a local diner for breakfast. Way over priced for value.

    4
    « A Real High Point on I-5 »

The Miner's Inn in Yreka is about halfway between Portland and the Bay Area on Interstate 5. It is just off the second Yreka southbound offramp. The rooms are well appointed, including fridge and microwave. A breakfast buffet is also included. It is pet friendly and family friendly with a dog walking area and a playground. It also has a large conference room and pool that you might be able to use on warm days. The majestic, snowcapped Mount Shasta is nearby.

Loved the breakfast selection and eating area provided,Breakfast staff was so courteous .The shower bathroom was clean and enjoable with the feeling of clean and bright in it. We were sad we had to check out ,Loved the easy in and out speediness of your locations .

« Home away from home »

The hotel staff was so hospitable and friendly that we consider them friends and the hotel a home away from home. We will be staying here again! A member of their staff recommended their favorite restaurant to us and we had a wonderful dinner at that place.

    « Another Fine Stay »

I've stayed at this Best Western about half a dozen times, and each time it was a pleasant stay. Very easy on and off the highway it is conveniently located and surprising quiet. The breakfast is simple, but hot and satisfying.

    4
« Good location, older building, affordable. »

Close to freeway, easy parking. Room's walls seemed thin, carpet a tiny bit smelly. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Building undergoing improvements. A good stopover on the long drive, not a destination motel. Great nearby restaurants, in walking distance :-)

    4
« Good Hotel as we were traveling through »

The room was very clean and updated. The beds were comfortable and had lots of pillows. The people at the front desk were gracious on the phone when we made the reservations, when we checked in and in the morning upon checkout. The breakfast was totally acceptable, with scrambled eggs & sausage, great do-it-yourself waffles, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal, etc. Even though it's an older hotel, they have kept up the rooms quite nicely. The fun thing is when we awoke in the morning we saw 6 deer grazing outside our sliding door window.

    2
« Nice Rooms, Outdated Building, Unsafe feeling »

The clerk who greeted me was rude and was having an unpleasant interaction with a friend who was in the lobby. It was late and I was tired and I did not know any other places in Yreka so I got a room. The room was very nice but it seemed that someone had been in it after it had been cleaned. I did not feel safe here - the door opened directly to the parking lot - I prefer the interior hallways. Not a great experience and I would not stay at this motel again. Also, the price seemed high.

    4
« One night stop over turns very pleasant. »

Driving from Seattle to Silicon Valley I made it as far as Yreka. I had driven in rain for 9 hours and my son and I were very tired. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff that worked out a room for us and gave us a wonderful tip to eat at the Italian restaurant down the street. The room was spacious with a balcony door (that we would have loved it hadn't been raining). It was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. I would highly recommend to families as there is plenty to do in walking distance.

    5
    « Very Relaxing »

The room was very inviting when I walked in. Very comfortable. Staff was very nice. I was very tired and took advantage of being able to sleep in and missed breakfast :(. But would certainly stay at this hotel again.

« Pleasant stay in Yreka »

We were in town for a family memorial service, the family arranged for a group rate. I found the property to be very nice, they are undergoing remodeling, but it was not intrusive. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room with two queen beds was very spacious. The breakfast was very good, many options and real eggs. Also they had two rooms for eating, which was a pleasant surprise.

    4
    « very satisfactory »

easy reservation. had room 114, Creekside room. comfortable. was very cold out and room heat worked exceptionally well, heating up the room fast, which was appreciated. bath had shampoo and soap in dispensers mounted in shower, and also on sink counter. The only thing I could complain about was the water pressure and hot/cold shower. the water hot/cold control was very touchy and it was either too hot or too cold. was difficult to get it just right. but this wouldn't keep me from staying here again. location was great! very good restaurants nearby within walking distance and good variety. husband complained about the bed being too firm , but I thought it was fine. there was extra blanket, and lots of good pillows.

    4
    « Stop over in a historic I5 town »

Miner's Inn was a good choice for a visit to Yreka. We had a good King size bed in a clean room. The compact wardrobe should be switched out for a modified closet, as it was too small to hang a t-shirt in. It was nice looking but not functional. It was close to the historic main street, and Strings restaurant is not to be missed for dinner.

    « The "Best" »

This Best Western was surprisingly good. Excellent facility, rooms, customer service, and location. Pretty good price (using AARP discount) for the high level of quality. The check-in staff person was among the best in terms of customer service we've experienced at any hotel for any rate (including luxury hotels). Nice, updated rooms.

« Great place to stay »

I have stayed here many times over the past several years, visiting my mother in Yreka. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. My most recent stay was after a renovation of sorts and the beds were super comfortable with very soft linens. The best part is the breakfast buffet, that is included. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit gravy, waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, muffins, bagels and coffee, etc. Great, friendly place to stay!!!!

    « Nice Quick Rest »

As we were leaving to head home from our long road trip in California, we stopped here for the night. I got a hold of the app for Best Western after finding it here on TripAdvisor and booked the room. The room price was the same as on TripAdvisor as on their website, and booked it while on the road with my husband. When we showed up after having dinner, the front desk was really nice and it was a really easy check in. The room looked as advertised online. They did have a free breakfast, but no gym, which was ok since it was just a quick stop through as we were heading back to Washington State. Check out was really easy also, and the help was really nice. They did have some construction going on, as they seemed to be updating some of the rooms or all the rooms over time. It looks like the place had been taken over by the Best Western, hence the two names.

    4
    « one night stay »

very nice and clean, breakfast was nice with a good selection, staff members very friendly, Would stay again if traveling that way. A bit pricey for seniors at almost 100.00 dollars a night. Newly remodeled

    « Still a Great Place »

We started staying here over 35 years ago. Hadn't been back for several years. Happy to see that it is as compelling as always. We are now staying in handicap rooms. This room is large, clean and well laid out. The bathroom is good and well set up for handicap access. We have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room price includes a breakfast. I would recommend BW Miner's Inn to anyone passing through Northern California.

« Great place for an overnight stay »

Convenient off freeway location, quiet, clean with polite staff. Second floor room was small but recently remodeled. Nice furniture, comfortable bed, bathtub and double sinks in the bathroom. Lots of restaurants nearby, some in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Convenient »

Room was spacious, clean, nicely-decorated and comfortable. It was newly painted, and still has the smell of "new". Bed and pillows made for a good night's sleep. Free wifi, and reception was good. Free breakfast, with a good variety from which to choose. Free 24 hour coffee and tea available in the breakfast room, plus free chocolate chip cookies to go with the coffee upon check-in.

« Great Place to Overnight »

This Best Western was a recommendation from a friend, and it turned out to be a perfect overnight on our drive north along Interstate 5. It was late afternoon by the time we got to Yreka. The gray sky started dusting the highway with snow so we knew it was time to quit for the day. Miner's Inn is right off the highway yet our room was amazingly quiet. We were traveling with our dog and the hotel is pet friendly with a large grassy area close by for pets. Our room had everything one needs for an overnight's stay. We were on the first floor and heard nothing from the room above. Two blocks away from the hotel is the main street of Old Town. There were plenty of restaurants from which to choose. We chose an Italian restaurant, but that story is for another review. Breakfast was included in the room rate. It was buffet style with hot and cold choices. On our way out of town we stopped for coffee lattes to go.

    5
« GREAT PLACE TO STAY ON I-5 TO OR FROM OREGON »

We have stayed here many times. No problems really. They are now remodeling some of the rooms. Comfy bed, good wi-fi, and yummy breakfast. Easy access off I-5. Good value for the money. Stores and food places are a short drive. Round Table delivered and was yummy!

    4
    « Beautiful Surroundings »

We stayed at Miner Inn on New Years Day. It was quiet and had beautiful Mt Shasta in the background. It was very comfortable. We slept good and got back on the road in the very early am so we missed breakfast. The staff was helpful and we found a little Mexican restaurant in the same area that had great taquitos. Definitely would stay here again.

    5

    « Pet-Friendly Easy Stay »

The hotel is clean, friendly, and super easy to find from the freeway. The grounds are really nice. It is a safe place to stay with my dogs on my way back and forth from Seattle. There are several restaurants close by but also a fridge and microwave. The internet works! and is a good speed.

    4
    « Clean and soft »

My wife noticed that the room was especially clean and well kept. The bed is one of the softest and most comfortable we've ever experienced in a motel. The exterior isn't especially beautiful, but that's not what I want in a motel room, anyway.

    5
    « Wonderful experience »

The last stop on a long trip, heading for home. We wished we had planned to stay another day, it was so restful, and comforting. The rooms are quite large, I thought we had accidently gotten a handicapped room, but they said all their rooms are this size.

« GOOD PLACE TO GET SOME REST TO OR FROM OREGON »

We have both stayed here many times. Gets cold at night in the winter so you will have to run the heater. Great breakfast with eggs, bacon, and waffles! Yum! Rooms are nicer on the 2nd floor. Good Value for the money!

    3
« In the back of the hotel »

When they gave us a room and we started looking for it, it was out off the street and then around the corner in a dark lit area. I didn't feel safe during the night. It looked like a lot of rooms available in the front by the office, but we were stuck in the back.

« They are really trying, but the place is still aged. »

When we go to Yreka to visit family, we usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express. For a change of pace, we thought we'd try the Best Western Miner's Inn this time - it was fine for a change. The location is a bit weird, being on the "welcome to town" loop, which means a 1-way street into and out of the hotel parking lot. Speaking of parking lot, this is really a motel, with all the rooms facing parking spaces. The outside of the place looks like it was built in the 60s, but there's plenty of parking and everything is actually nice and new. Inside, the rooms were obviously recently updated - flatscreen TVs, new hardware on the sinks and cabinets, new tile in the bathrooms, and generally brought into the modern era. And it almost works - I give lots of credit to the hotel owners and staff for making the best of what they have to work with. Short of tearing down the building and making a new "modern" hotel, this place is as good as it can be. Unfortunately, that's not quite as good as the other places in town. The TV is a large flatscreen, but the channel selection and signal quality is poor. The bathroom is nicely tiled and "modern" looking, but it's still a tiny tub with a shower curtain. I really want to like this place, since it feels like an underdog. Unfortunately, it's not significantly cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express, and doesn't have anything to make me want to stay. (I should note that my wife said the breakfast spread was big and full of variety...I didn't try it, but that's a good bonus!)

« huge rooms great beds »

nice motel - close to downtown The rooms were larger than expected. A hot breakfast was a nice surprise. The beds and linens were of a high quality and the check in manager helped me with my best western account. would stay there again for sure

    4
    « Remodeled Motel »

It was an above average stay only due to the upgraded room remodeling. They did a really nice job trying to upgrade a 70s highway motel. We are not fans of exterior entrance motels as proven with the many motel room doors of other tenants hanging open with views into the parking lot. The breakfast area and free breakfast were not up to par with other higher level hotel chains. Seeing other properties in Yreka, I can see how this was #1 in the tripadvisor.

    « Consistently Good »

We stay here every year for a fishing trip and are always treated like they appreciate our business. Front desk is great. Breakfast is good and the place is clean. We could not ask for more. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the place is very clean in general.

This Best Western is the perfect half way point between the Bay Area and Oregon. Siskyou Summit is just north of here so easy to check road conditions and get through with no hassle. Easy access to to I-5. Seems like the rooms on the 2nd floor are nicer but depends on if you do stairs. Breakfast is good with eggs and sausage. The waffle maker is back! Yum! Friendly staff is a plus. Gets cold here in the inter, you will need to run the heater! Good Value for the price. Highly Recommend!

« Don't stay here if you have a dog!!!!!!!! »

If you are traveling with a pet, I would not recommend this hotel. The room was extremely dirty and smelly. The heater when turned on (the weather was chilly) made the smell even worse. We went into town and purchased a scented candle. We love our pet but not enough to stay in such an unsanitary place. We even had silverfish in the tub the next morning. Yuck!

Traveling from Portland to Arizona and stopped here our first night along the way. Kyle was so helpful, so darned pleasant! He is such an asset to this great Best Western. We were very pleased with our room. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. Double sinks in the bathroom vanity was a real treat! Breakfast was hot and the service was friendly. What a great stop-over. We slept so well! We ate at the Purple Plum-right across the street-and it was so good.

    « Good Choice »

I travel frequently between the Bay Area of California and Portland Oregon, and Best Western Miners Inn is the perfect half way stop for us to rest up. I have stayed at this location four times in the last two months and usually everything is perfect. My most recent stay October 20, 2015 the sheets smelled of cigarette smoke. The room smelled fine, it was just the linen. My suggestion to Best Western, make sure your staff do not smoke near the linen room. I would definitely stay here again.

« Room was nicer than expected »

I have to say the room was nicer than I expected. It has a little differed maintenance. The tile countertop by the sink was missing grout and the toilet didn't flush right unless you held the handle down a couple of seconds. The bed was comfortable. I think the tip jar in the breakfast room is beyond inappropriate. The syrup bottles were almost empty. The napkins almost gone, the counter and floors were dirty. Obviously, the employee wasn't doing her job. Since guests get their own food and clear their tables, why the tip jar? For some reason that just struck me as so wrong. Would have talked to front desk at check out about differed maintenance but she was too busy resuming her conversation with another employee to ask me if I needed anything else after she handed me my receipt.

« Fabulous Stopping off Place While Travelling North or South on I-5 »

This Best Western is one of the better Best Western's that I have stayed at. The location is great when heading north or south on I-5. It's close to Ashland, without the Ashland prices. For me, it's halfway between Portland and Napa so this location is great to break up the drive. Our room had been newly refurbished and it was tastefully decorated, and it was clean. The staff was friendly and professional. I was impressed by both the office staff and the man who was in charge of the ice machine. Both made me feel like I was a valued guest. The breakfast was better than the average BW with hot items on the buffet. Yreka itself is small, but we found a good restaurant walking distance of the hotel - Strings. We had an excellent dinner.

« California drought but nice hotel »

You should ask if the pool is important to you because they are empty because of the California drought. The breakfast was good fresh eggs and sausage with many other goodies. The room was large, biggest standard room I have had. Had a nice recliner which I have only seen in suites. The bed in our room needs to be replaced as it has a sink hole in the middle.

    « pleasant as usual »

We stay here when driving from Portland to central California or Nevada, and the upstairs creekside rooms have been consistently pleasant. As usual, our creeekside room was clean and quiet with a comfy king bed. Pleasant check-in, ample parking. We walked across the street for breakfast.

    « Great handicap room »

Stayed in a handicap room. The room was very large and totally handicap accessible with parking in front of room and a very large bathroom. Very comfortable and quiet. This was the first time we had stayed in a handicap room but this was our second time to stay at the Best Western Miner's Inn. The only negative about staying in the town of Yreka is the lack of good restaurants. Lots of fast-food type places and a Chinese restaurant that we've eaten at each time we've stayed there. It's ok, large servings, inexpensive but nothing to write home about if you know what I mean.

    « Great Stay! »

We found this motel on our U-Haul journey from Washington state to Nevada and had driven many hard miles before arriving. The location is right off I-5 and within walking distance of several nice restaurants. The staff were so pleasant and accomodating, parking was plentiful, and our room was very nice, with a little creek off the balcony side. Having a fridge was a bonus! We enjoyed our peaceful stay and awoke refreshed to continue our travels. Thank You!!

« Good location and good value »

We arrived having made a booking through a third party only to find this booking had not been sent through. However the staff were very good and whilst very booked up and nearly full they found us a room at the price we had made our booking with. The room was very spacious and well equipped and very comfortable. Was in a good location for restaurants. The location was very quiet and after a good nights sleep we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast that was provided. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Great Staff »

20 year U.S. Navy vet on vacation broke down in this quiet little town and was absolutely impressed with the friendly and helpful nature of everyone I met. Clerks, waitresses, Ford Dealership, even the barber. If you have to be stranded, this is the place.

« The Best in Yreka »

This Best Western is older, but better than many of the newer places. We have stayed here twice. The first time with our dog and we had a pet room on the lower level that has a sliding door with patio and grassy area. They also have a large grassy area in the front so very convenient if you have pets. This time we stayed in a non-pet room. The room is more spacious than the pet room. It had a comfy recliner chair and a club chair with a table in between. A huge bathroom with a sink inside. There was another sink on the outside. By the sink there was an amour where you could hand clothes and some drawers underneath. Very comfy beds and pillows. Very clean room and quiet!! Large breakfast seating area with just the usual average breakfast fare. Very nice and helpful staff. There are 2 restaurants adjacent and across the street. Right off the interstate. I will be here again when passing through from CA to WA

« Great value and convenient location »

We needed a hotel to break up our drive from the LA area to Portland. This hotel is easy to find, close enough to the freeway for convenience but far enough away that the highway is not directly outside. Nice clean room with free wi-fi and breakfast. Two family diners, a couple of local bars and gas stations within walking distance.

« Reasonable accommodations, reasonable price »

We had a decent sized room with comfortable furnishings and reasonably up to date fixtures in the bathroom. Despite proximity to the freeway, there was little outside noise. Wi-fi worked fine for us, though relatives in a room more distant from the office said they could not get it to work. Adequate breakfast including scrambled eggs and sausage. My only real complaint was that the in-room fridge was very noisy. It had no temperature control, so the only way to silence it was to unplug it. Since the freezer badly needed defrosting, there was then an issue with dripping water.

« Quaint Old Town Stop »

This is a nice place to stop when traveling. It has easy on and off access and plenty of room if your towing a trailer. The staff is friendly and professional. The pet rooms are actually very clean and have a grassy area with room access via sliding glass doors. Very roomy and comfortable.

« WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE? »

Miner's Inn has a good location, easy access to and from the freeway clean and comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, helpful employees and quick check in and check out. And Yreka is a charming and historic town.

    « A good place to stop »

We stopped here for the night on our trip up I-5 to Seattle. Yreka is a great town for stores and services. The Best Western has good access to the freeway, gas and restaurants. It's a fairly large two-story hotel spread over a large lot. They even have two pools. They are unheated and will take your breath away in mid-late September. We had special needs and were able to get a handicapped room. There is plenty of parking, even for camper/trailer combinations.

Getting to the hotel ...
