"Great Pub"

10/09/2018

I visited this pub during a stay in York. The advantage of this pub is there a separate dining area only open to those eating. The pub feels very historic and fitted in perfectly with York. The staff were pleasant. I ordered burger with chips and the meal was excellent with generous portions.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank for your 5* review. We are pleased you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Adam

"Quirky Pub"

09/09/2018

Visited this pub for a few drinks while shopping in York. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and a good choice of gins. We didn't eat but there is a nice restaurant behind the bar as well as a beer garden out back. The toilets were a bit smelly but that was the only negative.

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your brilliant review We're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and hope to welcome you back to sample some of our fantastic food in the future I can only apologies you found and issue with the toilets at your visit. Our staff do regularely check the toilets throughout the day and evening but i shall take into account that at busy times we may need to put extra checks in place to ensure this doesnt happen again Thank you again Adam H

"Pie Heaven"

31/08/2018

Oh my goodness what a meal. Both my partner and I had exactly the same thing for a change. We started with the sweetest black pudding I have ever tasted on an asparagus puree and a softly fried duck egg. What an introduction to this wonderful place, we were both really happy with the quality of the food and the attentive service. The onto the main event....The biggest Steak and Ale Pie I have ever been served all swimming in a generous meaty gravy. I have had many pies in my 62 years but none come anywhere closet to being as full and tasty as this one. I managed to eat the lot, it took some finishing I'll tell you and there was only room for me to finish my excellent Merlot. Then it was a quick walk back to our hotel and a lie down.

"food great, staff not so."

Booked here for meal about 2 weeks in advance via online booking, however never received confirmation, called up a few times and phone only answered once, the were hung up on. However friends recommended so on our visit to York we called in during the day to see if we did have our booking, which they didn't but had availability so we rebooked. Turned up and asked for wine list so could have a drink in court yard which was pleasant. Waitress looked blank and had to ask someone if they sold wine. I think it was her first day. Good was excellent and a great choice, we had the sharing platter, lovely! It was just lack of experience from staff that lets the place down, there seemed to be loads of staff but only one lady doing everything.

Stayed here for two nights with my partner.. it is the perfect location and worth paying the price for that reason alone, rooms are lovely, we also ate in the restaurant and the food was very nice. Staff very friendly as well.. would recommend

"A quirky little place"

28/08/2018

Highly recommend this lovely little hotel.. Our friends booked this for us and we were so pleased at their choice.. It's a perfect location for everything you need to see in York and right in the heart of the cool little bars and restaurants and right next to the Minster.. Bear in mind that parking is very restricted in York so you may want to pre book your parking in a local car park if you plan to drive.. we parked in the Tanner Row NCP Car Park (which we pre booked) and then walked across the bridge.. On arrival the staff were very attentive and welcoming.. the rooms were clean and fresh with a big comfy bed.. it was a wonderful weekend for weather and the rooms were were equipped with fans too.. Breakfast is the hotel is really good too.. you won't go far wrong staying here..

"Location is 2nd to none"

24/08/2018

Stopped here for 2 nights during August. Accommodation is perfectly adequate and clean. Didn't spend a lot of time in the bar, mainly as it was very busy. Breakfast has a good range of choices. The location is excellent, opposite the Minster and in the middle of the old town and all the shops and restaurants.

"Brilliant Atmospheric hotel pub & restaurant"

19/08/2018

Adam and his team run a great Inn, happy to meet your needs with a smiling genuine service, amazing four poster rooms, great food, competent and positive attention to dietary needs (yummy Vegan food), with a varied all day menu, and a lovely pub, perfect! It is a fascinating historic place to stay, right next to the Minster. Nothing but praise for such a nice comfortable stay.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you so much for your kind words Lucy. I am delighted you enjoyed your visit and our vegan options. We hope to see you again soon! Kind regards Adam

"Friday night G&T"

18/08/2018

Stopped here on the way to he hotel for a G&T to start the evening. Lovely traditional pub, bare floor boards, dark, dingy, interesting decor. Found a table easily, even though it was getting busy on a Friday. The bar was clean, the selection was good and the staff were friendly. Lovely location too.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your feedbacl. We are pleased you enjoyed the character of the buidling and of course a Gin and tonic. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Adam

"Stopped for lunch"

5
16/08/2018

Went here for lunch due to the story of Guy Fawkes being born in a cottage joined to the Inn. Foid was excellent, the sandwich lunch choice was really good and responsible in price. The Inn looks really old and keeps with the theme.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your 5* review. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Adam

"All 5 Star....just needs a stair rail to bedroom 1"

13/08/2018

Fantastic place. Great bedroom spacious stylish very clean perfect in every way. Food fantastic very well presented. The staff are very helpful and polite in every way they are 5 star staff perfect customer service. The location of the hotel is fabulous right st the side of the Minster. The only thing missing is a small hand rail on the steps going from the main staircase to the few stairs going to Room 1 this would be no problem to a young person but alas we are not all in the first flush of youth... However fabulous place fabulous staff fantastic food. What's it to like. You must go . !!!!!!!

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you so much for your fantastic 5* review We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. You really can't get a better location can you? Thank you for the feedback regarding the hand rail this is something we will look into Thank you again We hope to see you again in the future Adam H

Fantastic food and service at this pub! Couldn't recommend highly enough. I had the vegetable wellington which was amazing and my partner had the pork belly which he loved. Make sure you check out the mural and cottage out back!

"False Advertising"

11/08/2018

We normally stay at the dean court hotel when we stay in York. We stayed at Guy Fawkes as a recommendation from our friends who had stayed here. We were put in room 6 which was nice but felt there were a few issues. As we stayed early July there was no mini fridge or bottled water on arrival. It was a few hours drive to York so to have no cold refreshments on arrival was nothing short of disappointing. We made our booking online and from the photos advertised it seemed hash browns were an option at breakfast. However, my wife who loves them did ask but was told it was something they didn't do and wasn't an option on the menu. Not exactly a full english breakfast when this isn't a choice. False advertising. Staff seemed pleasant enough but we did notice during our two days that a couple of younger girls were kind to members of the public once an order was taken but they sadly rolled their eyes and looked annoyed when walking off. Maybe not the right attitude to have.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Silverfox Thank you for your feedback. We are very different from the Dean Court Hotel firstly as we are an inn not a hotel so we do not have mini fridges in the rooms. We are not a modern hotel we offer character and history like a lot of places in York. I will certinly look into online pictures about the Hash brown and get this removed as we dont use them. Im sad to see the feedback regarding your comments regarding the younger girls as they are often given high praise by guests. We do hope you will try us again in the future Kind regards Adam

"Miserable bar staff"

09/08/2018

A group of 5 friends walk into a bar... One of the bartenders serving was so miserable while he served us. He was polite enough but just had such a sad attitude that it put a real downer on our little stop that we promptly left and headed to a bar close by where the staff were cheerful and full of energy and enthusiasm.

"A wonderful stay for our anniverary"

08/08/2018

We had stayed before which is why we re-booked. We were delighted to be upgraded to the Belfry. The suite is spacious, comfortable, full of character and with a stunning view of York Minster. We were welcomed by Michael. He and all the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent in the rather quirky restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Lovely period hotel"

07/08/2018

stayed here for two nights. The rooms were clean and beautiful. We stayed in room 7 which was a four poster room overlooking the cathedral. The hotel is on a main tourist street bit the noise was no issue at all. The bed was comfortable and had all the extra in the room. The staff were great and breakfast was really nice to with a selection of choices . Would definitely come back. I see no negatives to this hotel. Only recommendation would be to have a nice bottle of water in the room and maybe a fridge

Staff very helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant was first class. Never had flat iron steak before. Cooked to perfection. Location very good. Right by York minster in the heart of the city. Excellent breakfast as well.

Thanks for the great 5*! The flat iron is a fantastic steak when cooked right. We are delighted you enjoyed your full stay and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Adam

"Superb location and olde worlde feel"

03/08/2018

I stayed here for a night between two plays at the Rose Theatre. Upgraded to a four poster room with a view of the Minster, 30 yards away. Was a bit concerned that the tourist noise from the street and the Minster bells would be an issue but they were not. Comfortable bed but the floor was very uneven and may unnerve some. Breakfast was average but in a very dark room and I was supplied with tea rather than the coffee requested.

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Many customers find our uneven floors part of the charm but we appreciate this wouldn't be to everyones taste I'm very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your breakfast with us as much as we would have hoped and there was a mix up with your tea and coffee order. Our breakfast staff would have been more than happy to swap your tea for coffee if you had asked. We hope you will visit us again in the future and give us chance to to change your mind regarding our breakfast Thanks Adam

"Not good - not good at all"

28/07/2018

I wouldn't class myself as a prolific reviewer and only tend to write these when I have something genuine and honest to say. I am current awake at 2am in room 12 which on first glance is ok - however all I can hear is the constant hum of some cooling unit outside our room which is annoying. I have just spent a day at the races and had my fill of beers and spirits so should be very sound asleep ... bed shocking, very uncomfortable. In room 12 you can pretty much hear all noises from room above - sound proofing is rubbish. Room 12 also opens straight out to the courtyard which is pretty much full of people until 10.30pm, didn't bother me but zero privacy in your room unless you close the curtains. The pub itself is just that a tired stick to the floor kind of place - once upon a time it was probably nice but now it's just simply a pub, beers ok but that's about it. This place is £250 per night and honestly wouldn't pay half that for it. £250 for a poor room with broken furniture is way off 4 stars. Honestly it's just a poor excuse that costs way more than its worth. Location wise it's great and I think that's about all you pay for. Simply avoid and don't make the same mistake as me

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi As discussed this morning I'm disappointed you wrote your review before speaking to myself this morning. As discussed rates in York do peak on a weekend and especially race weekends and the meeting was also one of the busiest of the year. We are looking into moving the fridge cooler elsewhere but due to the oldness of the building these things take time and planning. After our chat this morning I do hope you will come and try us again when you are in York. Regards Adam

"Lovely pub but over priced stay for what we got"

2
27/07/2018

Me and my partner stayed here for one night. The pub is lovely and in a good location however, we did not have the best experience staying here. When we arrived we had a warm welcome and told that we could unpack and get some food from the pub as we was very hungry. So we left our room and another member of staff told us the kitchen was closed so we would have to go somewhere else...a bit annoying. The room was so noisy could hear everything upstairs and right next to the courtyard were people would go for a smoke. We was told courtyard would shut at 10.00pm so will be quiet after that time. But, it wasn't closed until nearly 11pm. In the morning we went into the pub for breakfast and as member of staff took our order. We waited for our food for over 30 minutes for another member of staff to ask us what our order was again. We explained this has already been ordered and we got told that they had forgotten our order. We paid alot for this hotel and felt like it was not worth the price

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Thank you for your review. Im disapointed to see you did not the best of expereince with us. I am very sorry about the mix up with your order at breakfast. This is a very rare occurannce and measures are in place to make sure it doesnt happen again. The beer garden should be closed every night at 10.30pm. Im not why they were people in the garden at that time. Once again i am sorry about the issues you had. Kind regards Adam

A visit the previous month wasn't quite as good as we anticipated due to no fault of the staff. After an initial discussion with James and then subsequently Adam we returned at the weekend. An exceptional visit. Great room, lovely breakfast, and the live music on Sunday evening was something special. We will be back soon. Customer service and correspondence throughout was 1st class.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi David Thank you for kind words. I am delighted you decided to return following your first stay. I'm delighted you enjoyed you visit and got to see our live blue music which we have every Sunday. I look foward to seeing you again very soon. Kind regards Adam

"Poor Service"

23/07/2018

Just been waiting at the bar ere for ten minutes no staff available to serve. Then female bar staff came into the bar and promptly started looking at her phone a guy walks up and she then asks what he'd like. What am I invisible. They won't be getting my custom again

Marmadukes Town... H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Sharon I was so shocked to see your review i decided to investigate further. Having spoken to staff that was on and reviewing CCTV evidence the story does not match. You arrived at the bar where a member of my staff was currently serving somebody and had to nip to the kitchen for some hot water. You should have seen that he was serving when he returned 40 seconds after you arrived at the bar. You waited a further 50 seconds when another gentleman arrived and stood next to you. a few seconds later the female member arrived at the bar having been in the restaurant to serve on the bar. This is the only mistake that was made was that she asked the gentleman first having not seen who was waiting first. Maybe the gentleman should have said it was yourself next but you decided to storm out instead. Staff make mistakes in serving the wrong person sometimes but sometimes patients is the key. You was in the pub under 3 minutes and to post and 1 star i find very harsh to take. Kind regards Adam Heaslip

22/07/2018

Just opposite York Minster and an easy walk around the intriguing narrow streets of York, the Guy Fawkes Inn is a very good place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room we stayed in was attractive and comfortable and the food was yummy. The only downside for us was the noise of the exhaust fan from the kitchen which was quite loud for all of the time that the kitchen was operating 7.30am - 10.30pm. (Room9)

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards Adam

18/07/2018

We booked two nights following a recommendation from friends. The location of this Inn is fabulous, cannot fault that but that was the good bit for us. We paid upon check in for our breakfast for our first morning and then were asked twice for payment once when ordering our breakfast and again when we went to check out. We were shown to room 11 which was just on the courtyard and therefore very noisy. Very loud people right outside our window both nights which meant we had to keep our window shut. Our room was nice but there was no hot water.... In fact no water came out of the tap. Our shower was too hot with no way of turning it cooler. I wouldn't have been able to put my kids in this shower if they had been with us. There were also alot of cobwebs in bedroom and bathroom... This doesn't really bother me but cleanliness is seemingly not important. We did have breakfast on our first morning but it wasn't worth the £10 per head we paid. We had to ask for toast, not much choice for vegetarians and the fruit had been left out for a while. As great as the location was and as comfy as the bed was, there were too many niggly things that would make us stay elsewhere.

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Sam Thank you for your feedback. We take all feedback positive or negative to drive the business forward. We certainly take cleanliness seriously and i am disappointed to see your comments. I will speak to my housekeeping team. Our maintenance will look at the issues with the water. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your breakfast with us. We would have been happy to get more fresh fruit out if requested. Kind regards Adam

Stayed in the Belfry Suite and was very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness during our stay. Toiletries were replenished daily during our time, fresh towels and beds made to a high standard. The breakfasts were delicious, with a varied menu. Full English, Eggs to your liking including Poached, Fried, Boiled and Scrambled and even the option of Kippers which I was very impressed with. There are numerous staff members at the Inn who are very attentive and provide first class service. James and Michael especially at breakfast time were a delight and a great double act - keeping us entertained and really invested in how are stay was going. I can't rate this property highly enough.... 5 Stars in every aspect of our time here. Thank you Guy Fawkes Inn , till next time. :)

"Belfry Suite - Intersting, unique, but possibly not to everyone's taste"

10/07/2018

My wife and I stayed here in the Belfry suite for 3 nights in Aug 2017. The pub itself is directly opposite the minster, and the views from the window are just incredible! Food in the pub is lovely, and the staff are all friendly, giving amazing service, especially considering they're often trying to work the bar in the (busy) pub at the same time. I loved the room, more character than you can shake a stick at. My wife wasn't quite as enthusiastic as me. The ceiling is VERY low throughout, and the floor is very uneven (I loved that about it). It's DEFINITELY not a negative point, just if you're booking a surprise weekend away something you need to consider for your other half so you don't get in hot water ;) Speaking of hot water, the bathroom was really nice. Nice big bath, lots of space. I'd 100% stay gain, but I'd probably have to check the wife into one of the other rooms which seemed to have higher ceilings and 4 poster beds, a bit more traditional.

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your brilliant review. We're very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. The Belfry room is really one of a kind! Sorry to hear your wife didn't enjoy the room as much as yourself We hope to welcome you back in the future. If you come to the city of York we strongly suggest a stay at the Guy Fawkes Inn. We have been coming here for many years now and have never considered going anywhere else. The staff throughout our two week stay have been Incredible , we have gotten to know the staff very well during our time here. James the assistant manager greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming when we arrived, even taking our luggage to our room (four cases, and not very light) which was very much appreciated. Throughout our stay he has served us at breakfast and been very accommodating in all aspects of our stay.. Many other members of the team, Wilson, Stacy and Kathryn have treated us so well . Always on hand and offering assistance where required. Two members specifically we should also mention are Michael and Bernardo. We have known Michael since 2017 when he joined the team and he's been nothing but helpful throughout our various visits. He works behind the bar, is always talkative , a cheeky chappy (In a good way) and always welcoming . Great part of the team. Bernardo today was very proactive during a very busy lunch time on a Sunday, dealing with over 24 members of the public for lunch. He kept a very level head and dealt with a vast amount of people at one time. We were very impressed with his work ethic and knowledge of various beers and wines when a customer asked him what they had. He was quick to answer and confident in his response. When it comes to Breakfast or dining at the Inn you will see that this establishment caters to everyone. There'e a vast array of options to choose from when it comes to the menu and the chef truly knows how to produce heaven on a plate. If you are looking for a comfortable stay, a welcoming and dedicated team who will go above and beyond for you then this is the place to be. You won't be disappointed.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Once again thank you so much for your kind words. Its great to see the team getting the acknowledgement they all deserve. Its always a pleasure to look after you all when you visit us. Kind regards Adam

A visit here is a must in York. The menu is amazing. The famous pie will take some eating & some beating. The pastry and filling melts in the mouth. Staff are really helpful and attentive. Just a few steps away from the beautiful York Minster.

"Fantastic Inn In A Fantastic Location!"

24/06/2018

We booked two rooms at Guy Fawkes Inn for one night … and I wish we were staying longer! The rooms had big four-poster beds, lovely clean bathrooms and a great shower (which can be lacking in some places) and the location was absolutely brilliant – right in the shadow of York Minster next to it. It is also perfect for wandering through the nearby shopping laneways such as Stoneham and The Shambles with heaps of delightful cafes and shops and loads of places to eat. The first stop for the City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off is also two minutes walk away. James, the very helpful gentleman who welcomed us, kindly carried all our cases (and there were lots!) up the stairs to our rooms, which was a real help as there is no lift in such an old building. James also served us breakfast the following morning in their restaurant, which was delicious … and he made one of the best lattes I've had while we've been touring the UK! I love my coffee! James was certainly an asset to the Inn – nothing was too much trouble. The only issue staying here is if you have a car (which we did) as there is no parking on the premises. You have to stop on a single yellow line, nearby in front of the Minster, unload the car and find out the directions to the closest car park which is about a 10 minute walk away. Not a real hassle (and it was raining!) and it wouldn't stop me from staying here again – the location is too good to miss! Highly recommend Guy Fawkes Inn as the perfect place to stay whilst in York!

"Splendid pub"

Close to York MInster in an area full of history as is this pub, a bit dark inside but its good, several little rooms, good selection of alcohol and Guy Fawkes was born here, well worth a pint and a visit.

A fantastic little inn opposite York Minster and so close to everything happening in the centre of York. This stay did not disappoint. The atmosphere, the food, the staff just great.Staff very helpful in carrying cases up and down the stairs as there is no elevator.

"Atmosphere, delicious food and drink"

16/06/2018

Fab location and atmospheric interior, though it was warm enough to sit outside in the suntrap beer garden when we visited. There's a nice choice of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients and presented attractively. I went for two starters (insider tip – the starters are often the best on any menu); the black pudding and the goat's cheese souffle. The black pudding was delicious and the texture different from any other I've ever eaten. The souffle was beautifully light. My husband had the sausages and mash—a man's main course and it lived up to expectations. I'd hurry back whenever I'm next in York.

Returning visitor to Guy Fawkes and it did not disappoint. Customer service was brilliant Safe as the choice and quality of food. Great menu with food freshly prepared so you may have to wait a little longer - but most definitely worth it.

What a fantastic little hotel a great location, out the front door and their is the Minster , 5 minutes later you are at the shambles and 5 minutes in the other direction the city wall. Parking was in the shambles a short walk and what a great place to stay full of history and old worldly charm.

We stayed at this inn for two nights on the 8th June. We stayed in the belfry room. We have stayed in the four poster rooms and the garden rooms before. We prefer the belfry as you can enjoy different views from that room. Once again the room was spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. We noticed that the Jacuzzi wasn't working. We mentioned this to a member of staff who made a note of it, when we returned from sightseeing it had been fixed pronto. We love the position of this hotel right next to the Minster. Our breakfast on both mornings was very nice and I especially enjoyed the fresh watermelon and fruit. There is a night watch on duty all evening so you can return as late as you wish after a night out. It's great that we can leave our luggage at the hotel as we always like to take the later train home. We look forward to returning in the future.

Thank you for your excellent 5* review. Its always great to see returning guests and were pleased you enjoyed it once again. We look forward to your return. Kind regards The Guy Fawkes

"Great pub steeped in history "

13/06/2018

If you are into old pubs and inns then York will certainly not disappoint. We went to the Guy Fawkes Inn for lunch, yep THAT Guy Fawkes. Guy Fawkes was born in York and it was in this pub he and his co-conspirators plotted to blow up The House of Lords with 36 barrels of gunpowder. Old mate Guy was arrested at the scene guarding the barrels beneath the parliament building and was subsequently executed - but each year on the 5th of November the event was commemorated and became BonFire night where effigies of the unlucky Guy are burnt in the fire. The pub offers a co-conspirators menu that is value for money whereby you get a main meal and either a starter or dessert for less than it would cost straight off the menu.

Thanks for the great 5* and great comments and and a bit of history! We hope to see you again soon! Kind regards Adam

"Good Service, Relaxed Atmosphere, Loads of Character in Great Location Near York Minster"

Booked two nights bed and breakfast for my University student daughter. Great simple inn with historic character. Arriving early, she enjoyed a beer in the pub below before making her way up the slanted stairs to Room 7, which had excellent views of the Minster. The prosecco I had pre-ordered was waiting for her. The room was neat and clean, although maybe a bit tired. The bathroom, disguised as a closet, had a shower with great water power. She loved the room, the service, and the food. Her dinner of a chicken tikka masala with the trimmings was unique and one of the best she had ever had. The hot breakfast was selected from a menu with fruit, yogurt, juice and cereal offered on the buffet table. Taxi from the train station was about L4. This was a great inn to use as a base for touring York. She thoroughly enjoyed her visit.

We booked a meal online prior to staying in York. The menu was minimal but the food was outstanding. Presented exceptionally well and tasty. Service was good if not slightly rushed. The price was very reasonable considering the excellent food.

07/06/2018

Arrived for a one night stay and booked breakfast on arrival. Taken to our room, which whilst not in the main hotel, it over looked the rear court yard, was clean and comfortable. There were adequate towels, hangers and tea/coffee, biscuits. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to suggest several places to eat that evening. We were able to stay in the bar until quite late and chatted happily with the staff. Breakfast was unfortunately rather disappointing, all items seemed to have been cooked for sometime and kept warm. One tea bag in a pot of tea for two was also a let down. This was a shame, particularly as there was a Cafe Rouge just across the road and numerous other eateries in the vacinity. Being able to leave luggage on check out was very good. Would definately return but on a room only basis. Had breakfast been better I would have given 5 stars.

We stayed here on Friday night, we were visiting for a Ghost Walk and the Dungeon...with a night out thrown in for good measure! When we arrived the staff were very pleasant and helped us to our room. We loved the quirkiness of the hotel...slanted floors, smaller doors, and a rocking chair in the room for good measure! The room was clean and tidy, and when we came in at 2am the porter was very helpful. Check in and check out was easy, but we didn't try any food (we wanted to have a YorkiePud so didn't bother booking breakfast. We would definitely stay here again (in fact my friend has already booked again to stay here with her boyfriend!)

"Disappointing visit"

31/05/2018

My partner and I stayed here in October 2017 on a trip where we got engaged. I had booked this place because I had always thought it looked like an amazing place to stay and was really looking forward to it. However, my partner and I were placed in a cold, damp annex room that you accessed by some outside stairs in a courtyard. I didn't like the fact anyone who was having a drink in the bar could access the room if they wanted to and felt isolated from the main building. The room itself was basic, uninviting and cold. Considering the price we had paid and the fact that was an offer, I was very disappointed with the standard of the room and cold atmosphere. I did not enjoy my stay unfortunately. In addition, the pub and restaurant area are in need of a deep clean and a freshen up.

First visit to this superb inn called in at lunch time for a drink booked a table for an evening meal. So glad we did staff where so nice on both occasions. I need to recommend the garlic and thyme chicken it was superb . One off the best meals we have had in a very long time. Opposite York Minster easy to find. "Disappointing "

20/05/2018

Stayed here on the 18th May and can see another reviewer has given it an excellent rating. From their description I suspect it really will depend on which room you get. We were initially offered room 11 which was inside the courtyard. This means that everyone in the courtyard can see right into your room giving you no privacy at all unless you close the curtains and who wants to do that on a nice sunny day. Added to the privacy issue well you would have had the noise of all the people drinking in the courtyard. After raising our concerns to a bemused staff member we were offered room 1 which we accepted. The rooms were really nicely decorated and exceptionally clean with good facilities. It's the noise. Room 1 is right next to the kitchen boiler which was so loud. And as you were overlooking the courtyard you still had the noise of those drinking. We were advised that the courtyard closed at 10pm however at 10.20pm there were still people in it and when it was finally closed you then had the noise of the staff clearing it up including dragging chairs around. The boiler eventually stopped at 11pm only to start up again at 6.55am. It may as well have been inside the room it was that noisy. This was a special trip and this did spoil it for us. We had our breakfast which was decent and left as soon as we could, absolutely shattered. The staff were overall nice, the breakfast as I have said was nice with the sausage tasting gorgeous but the bacon and beans were too hard. Lovely place for history but I would suggest either pay for a better room or stay elsewhere.

Adam H, General Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Louise Thank you for you feedback. We are disappointed you did not enjoy your full experience with us. We are pleased you did like the rooms and that they were cleaned to a high standard. Our courtyard area does close at 10.30pm everynight. Were sorry you experienced some nosie from the kitchen extractor, if you do decide to visit us again if you contact us direct we can put yourself in a room away from the courtyard. We do hope you will try us again. Kind regards The Guy Fawkes

The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was brilliant and large. Bed was very comfy and the bathroom huge too. Right in the heart of York. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay, York Minster opposite and other attractions all close and easy walk to all major sites. The place had character yet was wonderfully comfortable and the two don't always happen together. Can totally recommend this place

"Very Comfortable Inn With Rooms"

11/05/2018

We stayed one night (Saturday) - in York for a concert, and were very well looked after. We always try to find places to stay with some history and character, and the Guy Fawkes Inn is not short of either! Our room (2) was on the first floor with a bay window overlooking the rear courtyard - very comfortable. This is probably the closest of the rooms to the bar, but we didn't find the noise obtrusive, even on a very busy Saturday night. In any event, what noise there was stopped promptly at midnight, and being at the back there was no street noise. Important to remember that this is a busy inn with rooms attached if you're looking for absolute peace and quiet. The restaurant was very good in the evening, with a varied menu including a very acceptable option for the vegan in the party. Breakfast was equally good, with a range of cereals/fruit etc. on the buffet and a proper full English cooked to order - increasingly rare these days. We would certainly recommend the Guy Fawkes Inn (subject to the caveat of bar noise for those particularly sensitive to it), and may well stay there again on future visits to York.

Me and my husband stayed here for one night midweek , a much needed break . Really dissappointed , poor check in stood at end of bar like spare parts and payment asked for straight away , never had to pay on arrival it was asked for quite abruptly . Nice 4 poster room with lovely views of the minster although the bathroom let it down, very small and tired . Didnt really appreciate the view looking at the staff who had just served our breakfast having a cigarette accross from our room window. The website sells the Guy Fawkes inn on been candle lit all over, in my opinion battery powered candles dont count. Very noisy from the bar downstairs and this was a tuesday if your coming on a weekend dont expect to get much sleep. I appreciate the inn is trying to give you an ambience of the 1570s when Guy Fawkes was born all we got uncared for and very worn . The best thing was the company i had and the lovely view of spectacular york minster.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Thank you for you feedback. We take all feedback either postive or negative to drive the business forward. I apolizge for the delay in coming back to you but he has been a busy bank holiday weekend. We are are inn not a hotel so we do run a busy pub and resturant downstairs. We do not have a reception area like most inns so check in is done in the bar area. It is our policy to take paymnet on arrival like the majortiy of places. Due to health & safety and the age of building we have had to recently remove all open flames and we are currently in the process of updating our website. We are pleased you enjoyed your room and the spectacluar views of the minister and once again thank you for yor feedback.

"Nice mini-break in York at the Guy Fawkes Inn"

24/04/2018

We just returned from a 2 night visit to York and the Guy Fawkes Inn and really enjoyed our stay. The check-in at the pub counter was easy, the staff friendly and helpful. We had cottage room #9 over looking the pub patio. It was midweek, so the pub was pretty quiet and we didn't have any issues with noise (we are night owls anyway and didn't get back until midnight). We missed breakfast the first day, but managed to make it down the last morning and it was delicious, served until 10am. You can help yourself to cereal, yogurt, juices and also order hot cooked to order food from the menu. We also had a fabulous dinner at the pub, really great menu and the food didn't disappoint. The second night we left our window open because it was so warm and I woke in the middle of the night to see someone (a man with dark hair in a red waist length red jacket) standing at the foot of our bed. My husband was sleeping next to me, so I figured it was a spirit wondering why we were in his bed, gave him a look and I rolled over and went back to sleep. I had a much spookier experience in the women's toilet at the Golden Fleece pub the day before, so this didn't rattle me at all. York is known for their 'spirited' residents, and I've had other interesting encounters in England, so I wasn't surprised to have visitors. Apparently, room #10 is known for mysterious footsteps on the hardwood floor. So, if you'd prefer spooky sounds to spirit visitors, book that room. lol All in all, I'm really glad we visited York, it's an amazing history with endless interesting things to see and do. We will be back and would be happy to stay at the Guy Fawkes Inn again.

Stayed for one night and it was very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. You are able to leave your bags at the pub before check in which is great as check in is at 3. The staff are helpfull and friendly. Breakfast was good and we had a meal there sat night which was good also. You have to be out of your room 11 the next day but again you could leave your bags if you fancied a wander around York sights. I would recommend this place although it is rather pricey but it's situated in a perfect position.

We stayed in room 10 which was in the Court Yard. The room was spacious, fabulously clean and had a four poster bed . Bathroom again was large and clean. It had a roll top bath, separate shower and free toiletries. The staff from greeting us to us leaving were professional and very friendly . Breakfast was served in the quirky dining room and was delicious with plenty of tea and Coffee. If you like a hotel with charm and fantastic views of York Minster then this is the hotel for you. To keep up with the history and ghostly atmosphere give the ghost walk a try. We went on the one from directly outside York Minster. A gentle walk with a great, informative a funny guide and just £4 each .

Booked to stay here for one night very last minute over Easter bank holiday. After visiting the pub a few times on previous visits, me and my partner were very excited to stay the night. The staff were fantastic, the room was nice & clean with an amazing view of the minister, and as usual the beer was brilliant. We are yet to eat in the restaurant, but after our fantastic experiences, we will definitely return! Love the quirky and original character to the Inn, and the history behind it. Just a shame we didn't see any spooks!

02/04/2018

I visited here for the second time over Easter weekend. Booked a table as there is only a limited number and knew it was popular. Really authentic inside and friendly service. We had soup and mushroom and goats cheese tartlet to start - both nice but would have preferred a different pastry to filo on the tart and the beetroot as stated on the menu was pretty much non-existent in the salad. Steak and chicken with gnocchi for mains went down an absolute treat. We shared an apple bramble crumble for dessert which was also lovely. Would definitely return again.

01/04/2018

Sunday lunch £12.95 for a choice of beef/pork/chicken - I couldn't decide and being a meat fan I asked for both Pork and Beef. I stated that I was happy to pay extra for my request, what I didn't expect was to be charged £19.95 and additional £7 for two slices of pork 55% additional cost at the price of lunch!! The food and service was fine but this extra charge I feel made the overall experience a bit of a let down. I didn't challenge the bill I just paid and disappointedly walked out...would visit for a beer due to location but wouldn't eat here again. Sorry the staff and service were spot on..

Room was really lovely and clean. Check in a bit odd, had emailed the hotel because of snow delays but didn't get a reply. Booked for dinner but the menu was limited because it was Sunday, we had a drink and left, on our return they had a singer on. Unfortunately for us our room was right above where the entertainment was. It did stop at 11, but beware if you want to sleep !! Breakfast was ok, limited fruit, juice etc.it is a pub so you have to accept that, but overall could do with some professionalism.

Can't really complain about anything. Great friendly staff, perfect location, had room 3 overlooking York Minster, fantastic spacious room. Bar/public areas so so. Stairwell, corridor a tad tatty. Lots of dark panelling everywhere including room. Decent breakfast, stay not cheap but not bad value for money given the perfect location and room 3 with 4 poster.

14/03/2018

We called in here for food yesterday so I cannot comment on the room/hotel aspect. The location is brilliant almost next door to the Minster. We were swayed by the Trip Advisor Award of Excellence Certificate displayed in the window and took advantage of the 2-courses for £11.95 which we thought was very good value. My partner had the curry and sticky toffee pudding and I had the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. I have had better and the portions were rather small. I would rate the food as 'average' but I guess quite good value for money. The service was quite quick to start with and they couldn't wait to take my plate from me although my partner had finished and I was still eating. We waited ages for the dessert and had to ask for it. They were apologetic about our wait and gave us free drinks on the house which was nice. The place has a rather unpleasant smell to it like someone else has commented. Also, the toilets have no dryer that I could see or paper towels hence I had to go back into the cubicle for toilet papers. Don't think I would rush back.

appalled by the hotel . Booked the hotel through booking.com , for my girlfriends birthday . due to stay Sunday 4th till the 6th March : tried to cancel the hotel through booking.com Saturday 3rd March , m62 closed and was not cleared for several days due to severe weather conditions. We live in Manchester . I was informed i would loose £89! VERY disappointed!! Surely due to the weather conditions an exception could have been made on this occasion my girlfriend now wasn't getting a birthday present .

04/03/2018

On booking the hotel I was very impressed with the helpful staff. Efficient and organised. We arranged a free early check in and found we had been upgraded to a four poster room with roll top bath. Hotel brilliantly situated in york for bars and attractions. The room had quite a musty scent to it which was not pleasant. We didn't mention it due to our time constraints. The bar and restaurant in the hotel was buzzing and had a great atmosphere. Decor and furnishing were quirky but some items not in a great condition. Room is well equipped and quite clean. Bed beautifully comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was wonderful and staff were fabulous. All round lovely stay but Was it value for money? Not worth £189 in my opinion and I think describing it a "luxury" is a little bit optimistic.

"A Two Night Stay"

3
01/03/2018

We stayed for two nights over half term. I found the service to be excellent throughout the time; everyone was very helpful. The view from each room we stayed in was extremely impressive and the location could not have been better. However other aspects of the visit were a bit disappointing. Initially we stayed in room 4 which had a four poster bed. The room was quite small and there was no dressing table which caused a number of problems. We also found that the bed was incredibly noisy and the posts all creaked very loudly every time we moved. We had a poor nights sleep as a result. When we explained the problem to the manager the next morning he was very helpful. We were relocated into room 3, which was also a four poster bedroom. It was much larger and quieter and we couldn't work out how room 4, which was very small in comparison, was the same price. As part of the package we had breakfast there each morning. It was also a little disappointing. I had a sausage sandwich on the first day; the sausages were good quality, but the bread was not. It was thin and of value supermarket quality. The cold buffet selection was also somewhat limited. We have stayed here before and we feel that the quality of stay has diminished since the previous time.

22/02/2018

I've eaten lunch here before and had a beer, but this was the first time I've stayed. We had room 2 on the first floor. Nice big room with a big bay window overlooking the courtyard at the back of the hotel. Nice comfy bed. Setter and chair and big television. Big built in wardrobe. Bathroom up a step through double doors so needs care when using. Nice shower. Adequate toiletries. Noise does seep up from the bar but quietened after last orders. The dining room is very atmospheric and dark and may not be to everyone's taste, but I liked it's quirkiness. Breakfast was really good. Service was excellent and all staff we met were really pleasant. Overall a pleasant experience.

I liked this hotel from the start. They stored our bag for us because we were early and left it in our room for us. We were given room 11 which was in Guy Fawkes Cottage. The room had a lovely big double bed - large television and plenty of tea and coffee. It is also where Guy Fawkes was allegedly born. The bathroom was great with plenty of toiletries. The room was across a courtyard and although people were smoking out there it did not bother us, we even showed some the room as they did not know it was a hotel. Our friends came up to York for the day and we had a drink in the bar where the atmosphere was great. The breakfast was good quality and the staff were fairly laid back and affable. When we came in on the night a couple in the courtyard asked us if we lived in the cottage which caused some amusement. Oh and my partner claims she saw a figure at the bottom of the bed in the middle of the night...Lovely and atmospheric hotel.

Went to York for a short break and on a walk about the town ended up having a drink at guy fawkes birth place The pub is very nice with good decor and a warm feel There is a nice atmosphere inside and the drinks were served by a welcoming member of staff A must if you visit York

First visit to the Guy Fawkes, staff delightful and service top notch. Only comment really is that "luxurious bedrooms" didn't really apply to room 1. Whilst perfectly clean and presentable I would not associate it with the word luxurious- the furniture was shabby (not as in chic) ring marks, only 1 bedside light, tea and coffee choices very circa 1980, strangely tea cups with no saucers and UHT whole milk!

Hi Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to here our service was excellent. Im sorry you found your room not to your liking. We do hope you would try us again soon. Kind regards The Guy Fawkes

Just spent a couple of hours in the guy fawkes as usual on a visit to York .Love the place but please do something about the disgusting cushion on the bench in the room opposite the bar .It must make costumers wonder about how clean the rest of the place is.

Amazing stay from start to finish - a bargain for what we paid. Stayed in the Belfry Suite which was huge - jacuzzi bath and separate TV area. Low ceilings and beams added to the atmosphere. Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was great too. Location - could not fault. 5 mins from the Shambles and plenty of restaurants/cafes in walking distance. Perfect view from the window at the end of our bed of York Minster (picture below). Would return in a heartbeat, a million times better than the faceless, characterless chain hotels.

A really great base to explore York - right in the centre. This hotel is the perfect antidote to the faceless bland chain hotels. It's full of quirky corners, wonky doors and loose floorboards - but crammed with character. The bar atmosphere is great and a wonderful breakfast served

I only stayed at this lovely hotel for 1 night but would definately stay there again .. it's very central but very quiet . It has bags of character and the staff are very attentive and friendly . My single room wasn't over large but was well furnished and had a very comfortable bed .The only food I had there was breakfast but it was of excellent quality and I wish I could have lingered there longer over the quality coffee but had to dash for my train home.I have been lucky enough to stay in York many many times and this hotel is definitely one of the best I have stayed in .. Thanks to all staff for a brief but memorable stay x

Love it. It's my 4th time staying there. Generally get the Belfry and other rooms. Breakfast is beautiful too. Bit slow on booking in as the staff are serving drinks at the same time. Rooms are clean and beautifully made up.

The pub provided good accommodation, and is situated in a great location downtown, opposite the Minster. The bar staff was pleasant and cordial. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great! The pub offers a good menu for dinner.

Birthday Treat I would like to point out that all staff were very lovely, breakfast was nice and this is the most perfect city center location BUT being a pub the noise level is too much and even after 11 pm Friday last orders and Saturday 12 pm you still have the staff clearing up. The most disappointing part was that the night porter chose to set up for breakfast at 4:30am Sunday Morning making so much noise, moving tables crashing of cutlery and cups. We were in room 2 directly above the dinning room. By 7am the telephone in the bar area was ringing but this could also be heard in our room very clearly. Saturday afternoon the chamber maid left the TV volume on as high as possible while listening to music while doing our room so when we put the TV on the volume was ridiculous. Overall we were just shattered and on Sunday we had a 5 hour drive home. Not happy. I did inform the hotel on check out and the response felt like they had heard it all before.

This is the latest of several stays in the Guy Fawkes and I am pleased to say in 2018 it is as good as usual and reasonably priced. The room was spacious, comfortable, and plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and the staff were great. Breakfast is always a pleasure. I always amuses me to read some of the negative reviews on here, as I know this place quite well (though I often stay in other hotels in York the Guy Fawkes is my go-to place, I love the location). If you are not the sort of person who enjoys a quirky dark pub, do not book it, if you prefer your floors and doors level, go to travelodge, and if you have over-sensitive ears and are upset by people having a few drinks in a pub then, with respect, don't book a room above a pub. No doubt I will be back again soon.

We stayed here with friends. Both rooms were lovely and even though ours overlooked the outside courtyard it was quiet due to policy of no one in courtyard after 10.30pm. Lovely breakfast and staff were attentive

Fantastic location, lovely room, huge bed. Staff are brilliant: Helpful - they managed to find us a table for dinner at the last minute even though they were busy. Friendly and funny - good moves to Shania Twain???? Food good and plenty of choice. Never been out in York before and it's a great night out.

"Nice Pub Grub"

21/01/2018

I booked dinner at Guy Fawkes Inn during a weekend stay in York and I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. Upon arrival you enter a small bar area which has another room to the right. The Pub is clearly popular with locals and tourists, the latter I suspect due to it being the birthplace of Guy Fawkes. The restaurant is to the rear of the building and continues with the dark and quirky theme. The food is very good and service is prompt however this is good pub grub and does not offer or provide what some people may be expecting from the website. If you are looking for a good hearty meal, steak & chips etc. that you might find in your local pub then this place is great. If on the other hand you are hoping for something special or a romantic dinner for two then you need to book elsewhere.

Adam H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi Thank you for your feedback. We do serve good pub food but do also offer something different on the menu as well with some of our other dishes. We are often used as and ideal place for a romantic meal with our gas lite restaurant, Kind regards The Guy Fawkes

We took a seat in bar area at 2.30pm I asked a waitress if we could eat in the bar area and said yes as long as we ordered before 3pm when they stop taking orders. We went to the bar 5mins later and the bar man said we could not have food in the bar area and they had finished serving now anyway. We left hungry to find somewhere else.

This is a pretty cool pub which I think could do a lot more, it's appears pretty big from the outside but it actually really quite small and rather cramped oh and rather expensive for a pub, it's cool to say you have been but I thought the branding was pretty poor and they could have really done a lot more considering the history behind this you really didn't know where you were, you could have just been in any old pub. But since the history behind it, it is worth stopping in for a pint just to say you have been.

"Good food and drink!!"

Three of us had dinner here and it was very good. Nice old place and good service too. The fish and chips was very good. I enjoyed it. wasn't to busy either as we got in before the busy part of the evening. It has rooms too. I would love to spend the night there. Would be fun!!

Visited on two weekend nights in November. We only had drinks and the ale was well kept. Might not be for everyone as is a bit dark and dingy, but that is parts of its charm and intrigue. Wouldn't want a ‘ fun pub ‘ Place was busy too. Will definitely go back

It's like go back in time and stay in old-style room. It's very old hotel but has all you need and it's warm. We had an amazing 1 night stay which made our experience in Christmas York unforgettable. It's super close from famous streets and restaurants. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel room are not big but very cozy.

Annual Christmas trip to York, shopping and boozing! The Guy Fawkes never disappoints great rooms. Staff really friendly, Michael is a legend!! The Guy Fawkes is steeped in history and you can feel it. Location is just perfect. Already booked for next year!!

"Worst hotel ever every stayed in."

We stayed in room 8 (which someone has previously reviewed negatively). The room was small, and seemed very old. The lighting was poor, the bed was very old and creaky, rolling over in the night woke both of us up. The curtains looked dirty, and the floor was sticky, like it had been mopped with a dirty mop from the bar downstairs. It smelt of stale beer. We also asked for our continental breakfast to be brought to the room which was offered by the information booklet, but this never turned up. The busy street outside can't be helped, but other guests talking outside the room at 3am and then again at 4am also added to an awful nights sleep. On a plus side, the bathroom did seem clean, compared to the bedroom, but again was small. We found this to be a very disappointing place to stay, and would rank it as the worst hotel we have visited.

Marmadukes Town... H, Manager at Guy Fawkes Inn, responded to this review
Hi there, Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. In regards to your concerns: I can assure you all our rooms are serviced to a high standard and all are mops are designated for different areas of the inn. We are a old hotel and, therefore, other bedroom noise may carry but we do monitor guests throughout the night if they are making noise. Unfortunately however, the street noise is out of our control. Any noise from the street is due to our prime location and that we are in the heart of one of the busiest cities in the UK. The maintenance team have been informed of the issue you experienced with the bed and we are recitfying this as soon as possible. I am really sorry that you did not recieve your breakfast in bed. This was unacceptable on our part and measures have been put in place with both the Front of House staff and the kitchen to stop this ever happening again. Kind regards, The Guy Fawkes

01/01/2018

Stayed here beginning of December for a girls night away with my sister at the Christmas markets. Booked this hotel purely on price and location on what was a busy weekend. Location cannot be beat being literally opposite the minster. Outside the hotel/pub and you're in the heart of things. Room itself was ok, classed as executive it was tiny, barely room to squeeze by the bed to get to the window. The bed was comfy though, and the room clean. And for a Saturday night staying basically in a pub, we slept great. Breakfast was included and you order off menu with a continental buffet available also. The food was lovely. The staff were lovely. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Maybe a little more wow would give it full marks

Me and my partner stayed here 23/12 - 24/12 for a christmassy Break :0). the room was beautiful and the facilities spot on. there was no noise from the pub downstairs either so that was great. The view from the room was so nice.. the Cathedral bells just made the atmosphere that more special. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

From the bar staff, to the waiting staff to housekeeping you will find the most attentive and dedicated members of staff at the guy fawkes inn. We stayed for well over a week and were treated like family during our entire stay here. The Manager Adam and Assistant Manager Lydia were so hospitable during our breakaway. Nothing was too much trouble. There was always a member of the team around to help with any questions or requests we had and we felt at all times we got their undivided attention. Georgina and Michael are very approachable, accommodating and pleasant members of a wonderful team. All members of the team contribute massively to the success of the business and go out of their way to provide first class customer service at all times. During busy times they exceed expectations and go above and beyond their job descriptions. It truly is a wonderful team here. Please make sure you dine at the guy fawkes inn especially on a sunday for the roast dinner. We did several times during our time away and the food was delicious, the chef certainly knows their stuff. Our room was perfect, the housekeeping staff were so lovely to us, always smiling and talking to us every morning before breakfast. They made sure our room was spotless from top to bottom. Are only complaint was the fact we didn't get to say a proper goodbye to Michael, Georgina because we had a train to catch home before we left, but we are hopeful we will see them again in the summer. Thank you so much guys for everything and see you in 2018!

Not only were guests served alcohol late at night already intoxicated which is illegal, they were then served through the night for 11 hours till 10.30am allowing them to get further drunk & aggressive shouting in the hallway waking guests up in the early hours of the morning Staff don't seem to be trained on BA sic safety measures. Not knowing to intervene when guests were being aggressive & shouting at other guests Our room was on the stairwell with very thin walls so was very difficult to sleep through the noise of other guests coming & going throughout the night & morning & im a very heavy sleeper
