    « A decent hotel. »

We spent a couple nights here. It's nothing to rave about, just another hotel. Price is right. Location is definitely out-or-the-way. Staff was very busy with a large group of Harley riders but they were very accommodating and kind to us. The "common area" is not large and is enclosed with a railing which certainly limits its capacity when there is a large group staying in the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, nothing to rave about. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were essentially clean but the staff needs to clean the edges of the carpet and the corners of the rooms which didn't seem to have been cleaned in awhile.

    « Dated, but clean »

A group of Harley owners from Louisville stayed in Wytheville to take advantage of the wonderful back roads and the hotel was extremely accommodating. They allowed us to cater of meals in the lobby/breakfast area, which was a bonus. There is no elevator, only stairs to the second floor.

    « Ladybug »

Staff was very nice. Very disappointed in the quality of cleanliness of the room. Sheets were clean but bed had thick dusty across top of the headboard and on the table & desk. There was an old candy wrapper behind the edge of nightstand & other stuff on carpet - just not clean!!

« Great pet friendly place to stay. »

Hotel was clean and staff were very accommodating. Excellent place to stay with family and pets. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the immediate area. My husband and I stopped there on the way to NC.

« Good Bang for the Buck »

Clean, efficient hotel, as advertised. Pleasant staff and hearty breakfast in the morning. Spent time here while hiking the nearby AT. Good restaurants within a short distance. Would return when in the area again.

    « A very bad experience »

We were assigned to room 419. The door was open and the room had not yet been cleaned. Went back to reception and were assigned room 417. Entered 417 and found overflowing wastebaskets. The bathroom, rugs, and all surfaces had not been cleaned, but after an exhausting day on the road, we decided to clean the bathroom and surfaces ourselves. When we pulled down the covers to get into bed, we saw the sheets hadn't been changed from the last occupants, so we slept on top of the bed with our clothes on. At 10:00 pm we were awoken by loud voices outside our room. An argument was going on between someone from the front desk and a gentleman (in charge of cleaning?) about room 419 not being cleaned. The next morning, I grabbed a towel on the rack after my shower. It was wet. It had been used, re-folded and put back on the rack. Breakfast was awful...cold, watery, powdered eggs and some greasy sausage concoction. We loved our stay at the BW Inn at Hunt's Landing the night before but were thoroughly disgusted by our whole experience at the Wytheville BW.

    « Great Experience »

Great location Enough parking Very quiet place Breakfast items lot to eat Btw the breakfast area is awesome Restaurants very close by Will definitely recommend to others. Mountain view is awesome. Very pleasant

    2
    « Room not cleaned »

After I slept in the bed I found a dirty sock under the covers in the morning. Obviously the sheets were not changed between guests. I hate to think what else was neglected. This is completely unacceptable.

    3
    « Unorganized »

Checked in and found my room had not been made up. Unmade bed, wet towel on the sink. They assigned me another room. Everything fine except the toilet had not been cleaned. Not a pleasant sight. I was told there had been a lot of staff that had recently left. I will give them another chance as I like the location and I need a pet friendly hotel in this vicinity.

« The bargain of the year! »

The Best Western at Wytheville, VA may well be the bargain of the year, or at least in the top 2. The experience was flawless. Great breakfast complete with biscuits and gravy as well as the usual waffles, good coffee, juice. The room was clean and exceptionally quiet. Disclaimer; I arrived at 1:30 AM and left at 8:30 AM so I really didn't check out all the features. However, it was a very good experience and I just booked the same hotel again for the return trip.

« Overnight stay with dogs »

I had a great night at this motel. The room was clean, bed comfortable and coffee maker worked. I stayed with two dogs. We were placed in an area close to an outside door. There was ample outside and lawn area to walk with the dogs. I would recommend this to anyone traveling with dogs.

    5
    « Wonderful staff »

I called ahead to make sure we had a pet room with a king sized bed, they gladly made the adjustment. Room was very clean. Bed was really comfortable, we don't sleep well in separate beds. Breakfast was awesome. We'll be back!

« Beware of this hotel »

We rented three rooms at this hotel and stayed for three nights and we had no housecleaning services during our entire stay. The hotel is filthy and we inquired about the lack of service on multiple occasions and we were told that they had no help to clean the rooms. We asked politely and professionally to get our rooms comped or significantly reduced in price and they offered us a $10.00 a night discount. We all said that was an unacceptable offer and we plan to elevate this issue to Best Western Corporate. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel and the first time we arrived for one night the heat in the room did not work. We were hiking the Appalachian trail for three days and coming back to a room with no clean towels and no soap is unacceptable. Finally, this hotel caters to contractors who are working on a electric substation and they all come in drunk and obnoxious every night. This was observed on two nights. I have never stayed in a hotel before where the rooms were not cleaned and I would not recommend this place to an animal or a human. I tried to work this issue out with the manager who has worked there for 20 years and she said there are five owners she has to get approval from all of them to make this right. Wrong place to stay-avoid at all costs. We also were traveling with a Congressman from Virginia. This hotel is a dump.

« OK hotel, nice staff »

Unfortunately, my stay was a day after a snow storm and I was very disappointed to not have ANY of the sidewalks shoveled or cleaned. Not even salt to help melt the snow. It was treacherous the following day walking on the ice. We had to walk in the snow to prevent from falling.

    « Always a Good Stay »

We stay at this Best Western property several times a year on our way to visit our grandchildren and have always been satisfied. It is comfortable, very convenient to I-81 and reasonably priced. We recommend it.

« Truly welcoming and quiet »

Had a very nice stay at this Best Western in Wytheville. My wife and I were on a road trip, and arrived very late, after midnight. I'm used to waiting for a long time when arriving late, but here someone was right at the front desk to greet us, with a big smile, and had us checked in within about 60 seconds flat. Really nice start to the stay. Our room was spacious, and very clean, with a fridge about double the size of most. A nice bathroom, too, with plenty of extra towels, and an extra-wide tub (nice for showering in). And great water pressure, too, which I always appreciate. It was very quiet, all night and all morning, which was impressive considering that it's just a minute or two from the highway. I loved the breakfast bar. They had biscuits, sausage gravy and eggs, plus a wide choice of bagels, other breads, several types of coffee, and at least six kinds of cereal. Great to have that kind of choice. And a nice dining room, too, with a cool round fireplace in the middle and a view of the pool. Check out was really quick, with another really friendly staffperson. We would definitely stay here again!

« Bed Bugs (Second Floor, Room 248) »

Disgusting. We've stayed here a few times and loved it but we're definitely not coming back after this. Bed bugs, blood stained pillows, dirty shower, dead stink bugs on the windowsill, and filthy bed sheets. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere until they get this sorted out.

« VERY VERY CLEAN PET FRIENDLY HOTEL »

this hotel is Outstanding, It is a great value, very clean pet friendly hotel , even my dogs were happy, we will stay again when passing through Breakfast was typical included breakfast, with eggs sausage etc,

    « Clean Bedding Is A Must »

This was our worst experience of our entire trip. We arrived in our room at 8:05 pm, got organized for the night then turned down the bed. YUCK! The sheets were rumpled with fresh dirt/blood. The housekeeper had made the top of the bed look fresh but not bothered to change the bedding! We called the front desk at 8:20, again at 8:40 and at 9:00 a man showed up to change the bedding. We were finally able to get to bed at 9:25. Perhaps the housekeepers are paid piece work and are expected to take shortcuts. The Manager DID make it right with us the next morning. But it was an uncomfortable stay regardless.

    4
« Good stay, comfy bed, good coffee and yummy breakfast »

We like to stay on top floor to avoid some noise. Staff is very nice. Coffee is good any time of the day. Great lobby to sit quietly in the early morning hours. Breakfast is good but if your on a low carb diet you have few choices. We also agree the bed is probably one of the top 2 comfy beds we have stayed in at different hotels.

    3
« Clean, safe place to spend the night, but no frills »

The hotel is somewhat hidden behind a couple other hotels on a dark, dead end road, but there were many others staying there. It seemed as though many Canadians were using this hotel as a stopover during long road trips (as we were). Front desk staff was friendly. There didn't seem to be any elevators to the second floor (there were only two floors), so be prepared to drag your luggage up the stairs. Entrances from the parking lot were convenient. The rooms were standard and clean. The bathroom contained standard, hotel-sized beauty products. Our particular bathroom was having problems with the over the lighting and so a floor-lamp was set between the vanity and toilet. The tv was large and stations were plentiful. The breakfast location was cramped. Everyone was always in everyone else's way. As you waited for your bagel or toast, you stood in front of someone's cereal. If you waited for the juice dispenser, you were in everyone's way! The sausages and scrambled eggs were runny and oily, but breakfast was included. Overall, a comfortable but ample place to spend the night!

    « Best hotel value! »

This place was a great find for an overnight stay for the family on the way from Florida to NY. It was slightly out of our way, but worth it for the nice clean room at 70 dollars! I couldn't have been happier. The free coffee and breakfast was the standard offering from hotels in this price range. The breakfast area was clean, updated, and well-stocked. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    2
    « Surprised! »

As a Platinum BW member, I was surprised by problems we faced here. Staff was pleasant and check-in and out easy, however, the shower emitted only scalding water and the fan sounded like it would explode. The dining area around a fireplace was nice for breakfast but the food was not appealing. This place seems somewhat tired and could use a bit of renewal.

    4
« Good stay, best doors ever »

I could have used an elevator for 2nd floor. Room was great except sink was very low, hard on back, best room door key cards I have ever used and easy doors, even holding 2 cups of coffee and with a broken finger they worked so easily, closed well but no slamming. Lobby kind of like a lodge, cozy.

    4
« Comfy, quiet and close to interstate »

A great stop for travellers with a good restaurant close by. You can easily walk. Wytheville was an old stop on the great Lakes Road. Still fills that role. Hotel is set back further from main road and interstate. Sits on down side of slight hill. Very quiet so good night sleep. The rooms on the inner yard are quieter...overlook the pool.

    5
    « Very pleased »

Very happy with our decision to stay here. Clean, spacious, friendly, good breakfast. Lobby/breakfast area had the looks of a western lodge. Very inviting. Pet friendly even though we did not have our pet with us, we appreciated their attentiveness. Dog treats available on lobby check-in desk, and even though we didn't see it, we heard they have a fenced in dog area. Good price for overnight stay. Will stay again when in the area.

    « Nice surprise »

Decided to stay here as we had BW gift cards plus it was the half way point on our journey home. What a pleasant surprise after a long day's drive. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady who made check in quick and easy. Our first impression was how very clean everything was. Our first floor king room was very comfortable and most importantly quiet. We didn't realize that most of the rooms around us were occupied until we went for breakfast. The breakfast options were one of the best we have seen at a BW. The eating area was large and bright and is part of their lobby. You simply can't beat staying here for their reasonable rates. On our next trip to Florida we will be planning to return.

    « Quick overnighter passing through-good experience! »

Driving through the area I needed a room that accepts pets, isn't too expensive and clean! I reserved a room here ahead of time based on others travelers reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The lady who check me in in the evening was amazing,,so friendly, efficient and polite! The lobby was clean and gave a feeling of a well kept hotel. The room was clean, close to the door as I'd requested, and quiet. Being below 32 degrees F I did not check out the pool, and I checked out before breakfast was served so I didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast options. The only negative was the lady who was at the front desk when I checked out, she was chatting on the phone and just waved at me as i left my keys on the desk. Oh well. There is a small fenced areas for pets in the back, a nice touch for dogs that need a stretch after a long day navigating down I77 or I81. The price for my room was excellent. This was my first stay here, and would stay again providing the price was right!

« reasonable travellers dog friendly hotel »

reasonably priced dog friendly hotel, right off highway but a bit hard to find, tucked behind other hotels, clean, grass to walk fido, good internet, little drive to get food, map of village across highway would be nice, quick overnight stop and easy to get on highway in morning

    5
« Always a good place to stay »

We stay here every time we pass through. This place never disappoints. The rooms are clean, the price great, and the breakfast outstanding. The only short fall this time was a bit of a temperature issue in the room. Controlling it between too hot and too cold was a bit of a challenge, but it was unseasonably cold out so that may have been the cause. We plan on returning, no question.

    4
« Nice place and service »

I visited the hotel in December and it was clean and staff was friendly. It looks like there is a nice outdoor pool for use in the summer. There are a few local places to grab some food but no nightlife or anything like that. Overall I'd recommend.

    4
« Great place to lay your head »

Was clean, bed comfy, breakfast was a great selection, all for a very reasonable price. Bathroom needs an update but was sufficient. We were there to sleep as a half way point on our journey, and it was completely acceptable for our family

    5
    « Disney for 2018 New Year »

After trying to outrun the snow storm and getting caught, this was our port from the storm. This is our second stay here and it was even better. Great customer service, comfortable beds, nice shower, clean room, and they even have a fenced in dog area. A Wonderful stay and well priced.

    5
    « Pet friendly »

This Best Western has large and clean rooms. Also a very friendly and helpful staff, and very important to us, it is pet friendly, with a small charge that is worthwhile. The beds were very comfortable and helped sleeping in a different place acceptable. The continental breakfast is well stocked and had several breakfast options, from making your own waffles to cereal & pastries, with juice choices, and fruit and yogurt . The coffee was good and hot, especially on a cold morning! We are repeat customers, and this is why we are!

    5
    « Best Western Experience »

This was the first time we've stayed at a Best Western. The hotel was comfortable, convenient to the freeway and restaurants and the staff was very professional and helpful. We will definitely consider staying with Best Western on our next trip.

    5
« Great beds, friendly staff »

Our arrival was late but we were received with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. The beds were excellent and the breakfast had plenty to offer both hot and cold selections. Staff called guests by name which was excellent. I look forward to returning to this inn.

    3
    « Nice convenient location »

Nice quite hotel close to town and the interstate. Friendly staff and clean rooms in the process of being remodeled. Coffee and breakfast available. Parking close to your room and safe environment. Family friendly.

    4
    « Pleasantly Surprised »

The rate was good for the room. 2 small items for improvement that I didn't even bother to mention to the staff since they were non issues. The bed linen seemed clean but looked as if someone had been in the room before and remade the bed. Possibly just the linens were wrinkled. The breakfast has a nice selection but could have been much improved if there was a microwave to warm up some premade items. I was surprised at the quality of the hotel as Best Western is not usually a name I associate with this standard

  • 4
    « Best western »

Booked last minute on way to Florida. Received a great rate for a king room which was clean with an etroridinary king bed. Firm. Gave a great nights sleep. Location was right off I-77S . Their breakfast was superb and filled us till mid afternoon on our drive to Florida stay here for best value and comfort . Carpeting could be updated . Easily overlooked

« Good for the price »

Hotel is right off I-77. Staff is friendly. Room was spacious and reasonably clean. Bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to the Sage stakehouse (which was very good and reasonabley priced). Complementary breakfast was good. Good value for the money.

    « What a Great Find!!! »

Spending a few days here, we had an amazing time! The guest services are truly kind, the rooms are clean with comfortable beds! A beautiful view included! Did I mention coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day?!?? Loved it!!!

    « Fantastic Travel Experience! »

Being new with traveling with small dog,we didn't know exactly what to expect in a pet friendly hotel. You have set the bar now for us! It was a great first-time experience for us as well as for our Laddy! Thank you so much for keeping everything so perfect!

    « passing by »

On our trip while passing through Virginia from Florida and stayed at the BW in Wytheville, VA and it was a great stay, great location, quiet hotel, pleasant staff. I would return to this hotel again for sure.

    « would recommend »

Very clean, friendly hotel with a lot of amenities and allow pets and excellent walking area. Great breakfast! Front desk clerks very nice, friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean. Landscaped nicely and inside of hotel very nice. Would recommend.

« Great hotel for stop over stay »

This was a nice hotel for a quick over night stay. It is easy access on and off the interstate. The little town had a vey nice restaurant, The log House. Also had a Walmart and several stores that were easy access from the hotel. It was a area where we felt safe moving around.

    4
« Secluded and gorgeous views »

The hotel is just adjacent to the highway interchange of Interstate 81 and 77 but situated on a hill on a two lane country road. At night the area surrounding the hotel is quite dark but not intimidating.( The hotel grounds have adequate lighting) In the morning the views of rolling hills and mountains are gorgeous. It was a relaxing and very quiet night's stay. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The room was large, clean and included a mini fridge and micro wave. A hot breakfast was included with plenty of well stocked items and food choices. The breakfast area is well appointed and the tables are located in an raised platform in a gazebo style setting all finished in natural wood with large windows overlooking the exterior pool area. The functioning gas fireplace in the table area was a nice touch. The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled or upgraded with newly painted walls, carpeting and amenities. A good choice to spend a night. There are no elevators in the hotel, so someone with mobility issues should consider 1st floor only. There are a couple negatives among all the pluses. One- The safety grab bar at the large tub was placed on the farthest point from the tub edge. It should be at the end wall so that entry and egress from the tub is facilitated. Two- The hallway ceilings have been finished in a dropped ceiling tile motif. It has an uneven shoddy fit and finish and gives the impression it will fall apart any second. I'm not implying it is unsafe, but it distracts from the attractive, professional fit and finish of the rest of the facility.

    « Thanksgiving Vacation »

Stayed here on our return trip from Florida. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant that delivered, as we were quite tired from the drive. Room was quiet and comfortable. Got a very good nights sleep before continuing our journey home.

    5
    « Comfortable Hotel »

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. I was made to feel welcome like an old friend come to visit. Everything was clean, the bathroom was spotless, the internet was speedy so what is there to complain about? The beds gave us a good night's rest and the breakfast was more than plentiful. We will certainly choose to stop here next time we come this way.

    « Travel from Texas »

Read several reviews and could not see but 2 out of many that was negative. I also needed a pet friendly hotel and this one was and the fee was 0nly $ 10.00. The bed was really confortable and I slept solid all night. The breakfast was pretty good too.

    5
    « First choice »

In an town with multiple choices, this is our first choice. The location has a beautiful mountain view. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is consistently helpful and pleasant. The cost is reasonable. We visit this area often and have stayed at other hotels there but have now made this site our go-to hotel. Highly recommend.

    4
« Good place for a nightly stay »

The hotel was clean and well maintained. We stayed one night and really only used as a stopover, and it was well worth it for this purpose. Friendly staff, nice refurbished room. We would stay at this hotel again.

    5
« Great dog friendly hotel »

We stayed here based on TripAdvisor reviews even though it was about 10 miles off of our route. It was worth it. Good value, comfortable beds, helpful staff. Lots of grassy area for large dog to walk. I did not see a poop bag station - maybe it was elsewhere - but grass was pretty clean regardless. Beds are comfortable. You can tell fixtures in the bathroom were older but everything was very clean so that didn't matter. Our side of the hotel was close to the highway. You could hear road noise outside but I didn't notice it inside. Other side has mountain views - next time I will ask for one of those rooms. Breakfast was typical things and food area and eating area were kept clean. We have had trouble finding good dog friendly hotels in the Blacksburg area. This is about 8 miles S of I-77 to Charlotte so it was out of our way but it was worth the extra miles.

    5
    « Very Hospitable »

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean, the continental breakfast had a good variety and the hot food was a good temperature. I would recommend this Best Western family and friends, if traveling with your pet the charge was only ten dollars.

    5
    « Florida vacation »

Was traveling home from Florida. Hotel is easy access right off the highway. Staff was very friendly. Great value. Close by restaurants. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Had a great hot breakfast. Have stayed before and will stay again. Would definitely recommend.

    « Heading north »

Our group of 4 has stayed at this hotel a number of times on our way home from golfing in South Carolina. It's a convenient location not far off the interstate and close to gas and restaurants. Good value for the money.

    4
    « Decent hotel »

My husband and I stayed here one night on our trip north. We were looking for a Best Western in the area because we wanted to use our Rewards points. It was not necessarily easy to find, but they had good signage, so between that and my GPS, we found it ok. We had no complaints about the room or the breakfast. I particularly liked the shower, because I could adjust the water temperature and volume separately. I would stay here again.

    5
« An overnight stay on our way to Florida »

We always stay at this hotel on our way from Ontario to Florida. About a 9 hours drive so good for our first day. The Sagebrush bar/restaurant is close by & a great place to relax & enjoy good bar food. We have always found the hotel to be clean, the staff friendly & good value for money. This year we stayed the night on Oct 21 & again were not disappointed. When we arrived in Florida 2 days later I realized I had lost my iPhone so was in panic mode! After making several phone calls to places we had been, I called the BW in Wytheville. A housekeeper had handed my phone in & after describing my screen saver picture they quickly arranged to mail it Priority Post & I received it 3 days later. A special thanks to Scarlet at reception & the housekeeper Anjala (?). This sort of experience will definitely mean we'll be staying here next time!

    « Great Deal! »

Stayed there twice in a weeks time. Great Value for your buck. Breakfast was good. Had plenty of options. The room was clean and organized. Staff was helpful on any questions I asked. The hotel was located right off the highway which was easy. The only issue maybe that the hotel was behind other hotels. So maybe a larger sign and lighting showing the entrance to the hotel.

    3
    « Mediocre »

The staff did not consider senior guests needs. Orange juice was not orange juice. The fruit was warm, poured from a can. I have problems walking, but there were no luggage carts at the front entrance. I was told to go back to the end of the hall, "Sometimes they get pushed back there.

« A Welcoming and Friendly Place to Stay »

The Best Western Hotel in Wytheville is a very convenient place to stay overnight as is is very close to the interstate highway. This is my second stay there and I find the rooms very clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was good, although I would like to have seen more fresh fruit available, like oranges and bananas. The woman at the reception desk was wonderful...very helpful and friendly. Very much appreciated after a 12 hour drive! Would definitely stay there again next year on our way to South Carolina....sort of a halfway point.

    1
    « Won't stay there again »

Room was filthy, bathtub black, sink cracked, A/C unit had fan issue and kept us awake, water drain from floor above at head of bed (very noisy), bad odor, dust build up in floors, only middle of the floor vacuumed, only top of furniture dusted. We were in Room 109. Horrible stay. Didn't sleep at all and could not wait to leave.

    « no recomandation »

Breakfast was very poor and the cutlery in plastic We found cockroaches in the room and I got bites on both arms The location is good though and we found nice restaurants downtown There are some terrific hikes to do around The WIFI was very slow and we couldn't use it on Saturday night

« Mountain view, kind of »

Non smoking hotel, hotel in need of a makeover, room and building cleaning needs addressing. If all you eat is a waffle, breakfast OK, Coffee avail. all day in the lobby. Hotel security good. Resturants close by,

    2
« Surprised by low quality experiece »

Outdated and poorly decorated common areas, like reception, dining and main hall. All too small to accommodate all guests at breakfast time (lack of room, waiting for table, overcrowded). Serving breakfast on plastic and styrofoam, that's the new low. Only continental breakfast. Very loud climate control unit, causing sleep problems. Uninviting room decor, asking for more light.

« My stay in Wytheville, VA »

Room was not clean p looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks, bathroom had soap scum in the tub - did they forget to scrub the tub?. Staff was not overly friendly. I will never stay at this location again. I suggest you stay at one of the other hotels in Wytheville.

    2
« Kind staff but rooms lack alot... »

My room as well as another patron down the hall had rooms that smelled very badly and in much need of a good cleaning and repairs. I stayed because they kindly accepted our pet, but that is the only reason. Has alot of potential but needs alot of TLC. Positive side, the front desk staff extremely kind and friendly....

    « best western motel »

Great place to stay, clean rooms, friendly employees, great breakfast selection, quiet location, easy access just off the interstate 77 and 85. Will stay there the next time I am in Wytheville and when traveling will consider Best Western Motels.

« Best Motel IS BEST WESTERN »

We have stayed at several motels all over and we have found the Best Western to be more consistant with cleanliness, comfort, and price. The staff is eager to please and with the highest regards to please their customers.

    4
    « Good Experience »

Staff was helpful. Breakfast was adequate, Did not have oatmeal that my wife likes. Not very far to good restaurants. Did use very many of the amenities. We were ther only one night. We were upgrades from a bedroom with two full size beds to one with two queen beds at no additional cost.

    « Relaxing! »

We had traveled MANY hours that day and with a bad back, I was exhausted! Called the hotel and the had only one room left which was a large jacuzzi tub in the room. I grabbed it and it was the best night ever! All my aches were relaxed and not near as as bad when I went to bed. Thank you for a good nights sleep!

    4
« I would highly recommend staying here »

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were clean and comfy. The room was fairly clean. The location was very convenient with several good restaurants nearby. The breakfast items were waffles, apples, fruit cocktail, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, bagles, cereal and some kind of flat egg (which I would not recommend)

    4
« Good place for dogs »

Though this is definitely a no-frills motel we have stayed there many times and will again. It is in the right place to break our 14-hour trip and it is very dog friendly. There are many places to eat close by, and it just plain works for us, but don't expect luxury.

    5
« Great price for Great Hotel »

The breakfast was best ever ate in Hotel. The cleanliness was above standards and great atmosphere. Staff was very helpful and friendly. the location was great also, right off the highway. Mattress was very comfy.

    3
« Good price great breakfast and service rooms could use updating »

Overall good stay, friendly staff a d great breakfast. Room was in need of updating, painting. Room was not bad just not as I would have expected from a Best Western but the price was also very reasonable.

    4
« Nice place to stop for a night »

One night stop heading to Myrtle beach. The king room was nice and the Jacuzzi tub was great. Didn't try the breakfast bar. It was easy to find off of the interstate. A lot of restaurants in the area.

    4
« Good place and great breakfast. »

Convenient location, good service, large common area and pool, wonderful wide-ranging breakfast choices. Good value for the area. Several restaurants close by. Room was clean and it was a fairly quiet location.

    2
    « Unclean and Sticky... »

We stayed for one night with two children under two and the overall room was highly unclean. Out feet stuck to the carpets making us wear shoes the whole time and the beds had hairs in them leading us to believe they were unclean. The shower drain clogged very quickly so you were standing in your shower water the whole time. Staff was friendly but this could not make up for the unclean room.

    « #Irma »

We had to evacuate for Irma and found your hotel. The staff is amazing. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet even when full. I will definitely be back for some fun I. Wytheville. The town is so friendly. Thank you!!!

    « Pet-friendly, nice hotel »

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Pet friendly was important. Location and property was nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom very clean and in good shape. Comfortable bed, nice little lobby. Breakfast was good, nothing fancy but quick and good selection.

    4
« very good for the price »

Caring, pet friendly. Great staff, the building was a little tired. Our room was a little tired, but clean. No elevator to the second floor if that makes a difference to some. Normal corporate breakfast.

    4
    « Great location »

Older hotel but recently re-modeled, quick on & off I-95 and close to a variety of attractions such as a dinner theater, old quaint cities with wineries and restaurant's. Great mountain views and hiking trails as well as sporting/racing events within a short drive.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

Clean, rooms, friendly staff , just off the interstate with minimum noise level and great view. We would stay there again if we are in the area. Staff was well informed about the area and breakfast was very good. Love the 24 hour coffee and tea availability.

    4
    « Pleasant stop »

Conveniently located with easy access to and from I-77 but far enough removed to eliminate traffic noise. Staff was friendly and efficient. Hotel was older but well maintained and the room was clean and comfortable. Sagebrush Steakhouse is close by and a good stop for dinner with food was reasonably priced and quite good. Definitely would stay here again.

    5
    « Clean and Comfortable »

It was tucked away and I was a little concerned at first but upon my arrival i was pleasantly suprised. The lobby was beautiful. Reception was friendly and fast. The room was clean and comfortable for us. I traveled with my 2 girls and we all 3 felt very safe at our late night arrival. Several motorcycles were in the parking lot so very bike friendly. Would stay again.

    4
    « Good Folks »

Nice place. Guest services good. Liked Breakfast (except for the eggs). Did have concerns over a running toilet. Air Conditioner helped cover that sound. Would recommend and hope to stay there again. The bed was great, pillows too. Really appreciated the refrig with freezer/ ice box and the extra plugs in the nightstand for charging the cell phone. The pool was a little cool but the tub made up for that. Lots of friendly folks traveling. What else is to be said Give it a try.

    3
« It was clean and comfortable »

Clean and comfortable. Exterior looked a bit rough but the room was clean. Lobby also clean but Just a bit outdated. Staff was friendly. Could use some better breakfast items. Healthier options. But what was there was okay.

    4
« Musty smell in room »

Room was clean but had a distinct musty smell. Air Conditioner was not on when we arrived in the room, so room was hot. I suspect this was a cost saving measure. Breakfast was okay. I would like to have had fresh oatmeal rather than oatmeal out of a package. Coffee was good. Price per night was excellent. Staff were professional and efficient.

    « A Good Night Sleep »

After enduring 6 hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-40, courtesy of the "once in a lifetime solar eclipse", my friends and I were totally exhausted and wanted to crash somewhere for the night. I randomly chose Best Western in Wytheville on my phone. When we arrived after dark, we were all pleasantly surprised by the very courteous staff, clean rooms, and amenities. It was the BEST hotel we stayed in during our week of travels through TE, PA, and NC. Our only regret was that we were on a busy schedule and unable to stay at BW LONGER. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was included, and our discount applied to the overall cost.

    2
« I would not stay there again unless motel is updated »

One of 2 rooms had holes in wall, a dead bug on the wall, an unpleasant odor, and a bed that squeaked loudly whenever one turned on it. The other room's bathroom looked dirty. The rooms are old and need refurbishing.

    4
    « Race weekend stay »

The hotel was very clean and the people were very nice. The room was nice except for a musty smell. It was obvious that they have had a water leak and the smell was still there. I spoke with people from the other side of the hotel who had no problem with this. Everyone I spoke to on our side of the hotel did. I just used room freshener and it was fine. other than that we had a very nice stay.

    3
« A Clean and Friendly place to stop on the long drive South »

A clean and friendly place to stay. It was Bristol race weekend so the room prices were a bit higher than expected. They desk staff was very helpful to insure I had a pet friendly room. I called earlier in the day to confirm my pet friendly room. The desk agent did some juggling to make it happen. Thank You

    5
« Very Comfortable Stop on the Road »

Once again we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. This time the hotel was packed and therefore a little more noisy than usual, but still a comfortable stay. The desk clerk was again very pleasant and helpful. The rooms have been renovated and are much nicer. Wytheville is half way between Baltimore and Nashville so is the perfect place for us to stop.

    3
    « Florida stop »

My daughter and I after driving 12 hours from Mississauga Canada decided to get rested for another day. Florida was half way and had CAA and BW Rewards. Was just off the highway and we needed food, shower and sleep.

    5
    « Guest Reiew »

This Best Western was very nice. We stayed there on our way from Erie, Pa to N. Myrtle Beach, SC. A little over half way to the beach for us. Hotel was Clean overall. Rooms were clean and beds were super comfy. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was great. Lots of options.

    4
    « Vacation »

Loved the check in clerk. She was fantastic. She could of used a helper for the multiple people she was assisting. Would of enjoyed a hot tub. Laundry room was very expensive. Dryer did not work very well. I had to dry one load of clothing twice and they still were not completely dry.

    2
    « Disappointed »

Was disappointed with this hotel, especially for the price. Needs improvements: fix sagging hallway tiles, stale cigarette and mildew smells to rooms, new carpeting needed, better housekeeping (vacuuming and fresh bedding made correctly), and a cleaner pool (couldn't see bottom)

    4
« A good, clean motel at a fair price »

A good, clean motel at a fair price. Staff is friendly and experienced, Good B'fast too. What more can you ask for. I'd stay again. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. (had to do this as it requires at least 200 characters)

« Should be a model for all best westerns »

This has to be one of the nicest places in the best western chain to stay in. Price point is spot on. Great customer service and great ammenities. The breakfast is much more than you would expect I highly recommend this property

    4
    « I stay here often »

I like this hotel, the staff is nice and accommodating. The beds are amazingly comfortable. They always let us have a late check out when we arrive super late at night. The only problem we had is that our room smelled pretty bad at check in, like a very musty smell. The carpet was pretty old and dingy. But we arrived late so didn't make a fuss about it.

    5
    « A Pleasant Experience »

We stay at pet friendly places as we have a dog and a cat. The Best Western Wytheville turned out to be a gem. Although a little dated it was clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Our dog loved the fact that there was lots of grass in back of the hotel. Our room was comfortable, air conditioning actually worked well and the thermostat held the temperature set. The only suggestion we have was they could use 2 staff members during late afternoon check in, but that was not a deterrent. Nice pool and definitely family friendly. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    4
    « Very convenient »

We traveled this road to enjoy the beautiful mountains. They were so green. The hotel was very nice and was a great value. There was no noise issues. Close easy parking. Friendly front desk. Look forward to coming back.

    2
    « Poor Value »

There was no elevator so we had to carry our suitcases up stairs (I requested ground floor in my reservation). The Internet Service was so poor we could not use it. Breakfast was poorly supplied and there was inadequate seating. Rather than stand and eat cold cereal we elected to go elsewhere to sit down and enjoy a hot breakfast. Disappointing experience.

    2
    « Surprisingly unpleasant »

When we got to our room there was toilet paper on the bathroom floor and only one towel. The toilet ran all night long. The beds had been layed on and only one of the beds had pillows. When we woke up the next morning my 6 year old found a random pill laying on the floor next to the bed that thankfully my 1 year old son didn't find first. Upon entering the rooms there was already trash in the garbage cans. After talking to the manager the next morning we found out that someone had been in the room before us and relocated to another room due to the bathroom light not working and the person working at the front desk that night did not know. The most pleasant thing about our stay was the woman working the front desk when we checked in and there until 11:00 and how nice and accomadating she was. Other than that it was an all around poor experience. The pool needed cleaned, the housekeeping was unfriendly and I got locked outside of the hotel with my room key not working on two separate occasions.

    4
    « One night stay »

We stayed for one night in our way to South Carolina. We had a handicapped room for my husband. The only problem we had was checking in. It took quite a while. We stood in line for 20 minutes. The breakfast was great but very crowded and not many places to sit. Maybe have an auxiliary room for overflow. Many people weee standing and eating. Nice room. Very clean.

    3
« Dates but Clean & Dog friendly »

Outdated and need an updated but firing our visit they were well-maintained and clean and tidy. A great stop for people traveling with dogs. The first room floors are pet friendly for about a $10 additional per fee, which was so convenient to be able to take the dog out to the fenced in dog park on the side yard. Also a fantastic view of the Appalachian mountains. We chose to have breakfast with a view from there- a delightful way to start the day!

    4
    « Best Western »

We stayed here while enroute further south. The staff were pleasant and professional. The rooms and pool were clean. Our only glitch was at breakfast when the kitchen staff person didn't come to work and the poor front desk person had to refill coffee and make food. She did an admirable job and remained professional throughout!

    4
    « good overnight stay »

the hotel was clean and comfortable, close to the highway, restaurants and gas stations. Morning breakfast was good, staff very friendly. Good value for the price. Clean pool, easy access to everything you need when traveling.

« My favorite hotel by far! »

Twas our pleasure staying here over night. The outdoor pool was great, and the breakfast was very good indeed. We go on a two week trip by van every summer, and a one week trip in the spring. All with my husband and 3 son's.

    5
« Ladt minute stop turned out great »

I usually stay at Marriott properties. Everything was booked for the next 200 miles, so I pulled in here. I am glad I tried Best Western. Great overall experience for the value. Front desk staff really went the extra mile

    4
    « "Nice Hotel" »

Conveniently located right off I-81, quiet, nicely kept property and plenty of parking. As you drive in you can see the mountainside. Front desk staff is friendly and the lady that checked me in provided me with valuable information of the area. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We slept without an issue for our 2 night stay. 10minutes away from Downtown Wytheville. Hot breakfast was fine, however, person looking after breakfast needs to monitor more closely for items that finished quickly and replenish. TV reception was poor at times and signal was lost quite a few times. Recommend the hotel for short stays.

    4
« Still a good place to stay »

We have stayed at multiple hotels in Wytheville but this is still one of our favorites. Could use some updates but in nice quiet location and rooms were clean. Good breakfast and great service. I little hard to find and no restaurants right around the hotel but there are some not far down the road. Will stay again as this is a great value

    3
    « Disappointing »

TV had very poor reception. It could not be watched. We could not sleep because of noise all night. It was clean and convenient right off the exit but we left before breakfast since sleep was out of the question so it was quite a disappointment.

    5
    « Overnight stay »

We were very happy with our night at this BW! We got the last room at about 9am on a Saturday night. The service was awesome! The price was great! The beds & pillows were so comfortable. This room had everything we needed and was very clean.

    2
    « Looks are deceiving »

This was the first time I stayed at this Best Western. It was late when I checked in. The room looked very clean but the bathroom was not. The bath tub was very dirty on the bottom and all around the tub was black in the chalking. I would have checked back out but it was very late. The staff was very nice at night and in the morning. I took pictures of the bathroom.

    3
« decent, would stay again »

Overall good. Bed comfy, but air conditioner very noisy. Would have been been nice if windows opened, it was a nice cool night. Breakfast was very good. Pool was very nice, just a tad cold. No elevator, so if you have lots of luggage or trouble climbing stairs you will want a ground floor room. Hotel is a U shape, so you cannot get all the way around on the top floor. Staff nice.

    4
    « DECENT, CLEAN, DOG-FRIENDLY HOTEL »

Spent one night at this decent, slightly dated, but clean, non-smoking, large-dog-friendly hotel. The hotel is very near conveniences, but thankfully not on a busy road. The outside areas are well-lit and have large regularly mowed grassy areas to picnic or to walk dogs (as well as pick-up bags). The room was large and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. There is a reasonable pet fee. It was particularly nice in that the room was clean, but didn't have that overly perfumed smell that some hotels have and which can set off allergies. The AC worked and I was quite comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.

    3
    « Hotel OK »

The hotel was ok, but the bathtub was not clean, with long hairs still in there. The breakfast was not good. Was unsure if the sausage was actual meat or not and the eggs were in water and stuck together, so I didn't even try one of them. Upon getting to our room there were dogs barking next door for quite some time. They did eventually quit and did not hear them the rest of the night.

  • 4
    « Good nights stay. »

Will definitely stay here again when traveling through the area. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was average but certainly alright. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location is very good, close to Rt. 77.

    4
    « Great Value »

On the way home from Nashville to Norfolk this place is a great halfway stop. In a quiet area but close to the highway it had big rooms comfy beds and was clean and tidy. It took a while to check in as the counter was unmanned for 20 minutes but other than that no real complaints.

    4
« Excellent experience with grandkids »

The front desk saw were had just has a long day traveling with our grandkids and asked if we would like a couple of pool towels and pointed to the pool outside the door. The kids were in there in two minutes. Made dinner right around the corner very relaxing after that swim break. The breakfast lady were very helpful in assisting us and the food was great considering it was for free. Good Job Best Western. Keep up the good work..

    3
    « Friendly Staff »

We stopped overnight on our way home from Pennsylvania. It was a good thing they had directional signs because our GPS was telling us to go the other direction. We arrived early evening and were given a room without any hassle. Our desk clerk Scarlet was terrific. The mattress was not the most comfortable and either needed flipping or replacing. My big issue was the bathtub. It looked like repairs had been attempted but it was ugly and had mold in the soap shelf and seams of the surround. The hotel overall was attractive and clean. We did not use the pools but it looked inviting. Breakfast was your normal waffles, cereal, sausage gravy etc. I hope our room was the exception because the hotel looked cared for . I will give this another try on our next trip.

« Perfect for our group »

Four families traveling from Indiana to NC Stopped here for the night. Pool and outdoor area perfect for the 10 kids to play Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, Breakfast options limited but free so adequate

    5
« Definitely would stay here again! »

My family stayed here on the way to the Outer Banks. It was right off I-77 but far enough away that you don't hear highway noise. Beautiful views of the mountains. I hadn't stayed in a Best Western in years so didn't know what to expect. The hotel is totally non-smoking and is also pet friendly. Our room was spotless and very clean. Interior hallways. Our beds was very comfortable. The room had a mini fridge and a microwave. They had free Wi-Fi too. They had an outdoor pool which looked nice but we did not use. Breakfast was very good, much better than the Hamptons we've been to in recent years. We will be looking for more Best Western hotels in the future! They had 2 waffle makers, bagels, muffins, toast, and assorted cereals as well as biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage. Plenty of choices and all very good although the eggs were a little overcooked. Biscuits and gravy were very good. Breakfast was served from 6-9 a.m. this day. This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! And the price was very good.

    « A nice place to stay »

Stayed here one night on our way home to California. It's a nice clean, quiet hotel. It's pet friendly. The breakfast is the typical Best Western fare. Staff is very helpful and friendly. It was a little hard to find as it sits behind other hotels.

    5
    « EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY ! »

I have been travelling between NY and NC for the past 5 months and have been staying at the Best Western in Wytheville, VA on the way down. The hotel is clean and comfortable and right next door to a nice steakhouse. I have stayed here three times since February and have a few more trips back to NY and have already booked a room here. Can't go wrong staying at this Best Western !

    4
« Nice place at a good price »

The hotel is close to 2 interstates yet tucked away in a quiet corner - close access to area restaurants - good quality furnishings and amenities at a reasonable price - 2nd stay at this hotel in past 2-3 years and pleased both times

    4
« good hotel, breakfast needs improvement »

Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was served in the lobby which was attractive but didn't have enough seats. Breakfast was below par for a Best Western. Eggs were rubbery and they didn't serve any meat. Biscuits were hard

    « Great stay »

The room was clean. The check-in was easy even though a busload of people came in at the same time. The breakfast was great. I will definitely stay at a best Western again this summer. The value of this day was very worthwhile.

    « R's review »

If you want a pleasant surprise stay at the Wytheville VA Best Western. The service was outstanding, the room/bed very comfortable. The surprise is the great breakfast; the best I have had at any Best Western.

    « very happy »

Customer service was awesome. Shower pressure was great! Pillows and bed were very comfortable and good restaurants close by. Enjoyed the free popcorn too! Also convenient to the interstate! Would definitely stay here again!!

    « A good value »

We stayed one night while traveling through. The desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the shower was great. The hallways smelled like a wet dog but, the room was odor-free. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was so-so with typical fare. My wife advised the worker about some stale cereal but, the worker didn't seem to care. All in all, it was a good place for an overnight stay considering the cost.

« Best Pet Friendly hotel within 50 miles »

Pet friendly, quiet, clean, comfortable, helpful staff. I depart very early in the morning and most hotels do not have any coffee of breakfast available at this time but this hotel did. Nice grounds for the dog walk, quiet - no traffic noise, convenient to highway, restaurants, gas. I'll stay here again.

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

Everything about this hotel was great with the exception of the clogged/slow drain in the sink and tub. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, lobby was inviting, service was great. Breakfast was your typical service with juice, coffee, cereal, pastries, eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, milk, and yogurt. The nice lady at night at the desk was very friendly and helpful. A thumbs up to her for kindness.

    4
    « Nice friendly staff »

We came in about 7pm or so. Colby checked me in and offered a king room for a little extra and it was great. The room was perfect. He also made suggestions for dinner. Which was awesome. I thanked him when we checked out the following morning. Colby was on the desk again. I was very satisfied with the room, breakfast and staff. I will stay at BW again.

    3
« OK but could have been a better experience »

Another traveler mentioned the cold rubbery fried egg disks - they remain ghastly. The remaining breakfast items seem to be included so management can list them as included but it doesn't feel like they have their heart into it. Hot things are not hot and cold things are not cold. Surprisingly the breakfast area is large enough to provide enough seating. It appears that the owners of this establishment, if they really did represent the owner(s), like to keep an eye on things because while checking in foreign looking people in the lobby area looked through me - not at me and certainly did not smile, say welcome or even acknowledge me in any way - this is not the only establishment were I have felt this but this was another one where it felt like there were ghosts hovering around the lobby and I was the foreigner. As a guest, I don't kneed to know who owns the establishment. Other than these issues, the visit was satisfactory and I would again consider another visit at a later time.

« Wytheville Best Western Experience »

Excellent room. Very clean. Large spacious bathroom. Beds very comfortable. internet easy to use and fast. Overall one of the best Best Westerns that I have stayed at. Easy on-off access from Interstate 77.

    5
    « I am happy »

Everything was nice as expected so I am happy. Clean and well taken care of and nice staff. I would stay at this hotel again which is the best and only part needed in a review. The town of Wytheville, VA is nice and easy to get around to get pizza, coffee or gas.

  • 2
    « Very disappointing »

The breakfast included cold, rubbery fried egg discs - absolutely ghastly. Even cold hard-boiled eggs would have been preferable. These totally ruined our enjoyment of the breakfast. We also found it difficult to get seated at a table. Greater number of guests than spaces available. Pool out of action - covered in a scum- and laundry also out of action. No apologies offered.

    « Great choice »

This was s good value. Friendly staff, helpful. Room was clean and modern. Only issue was tub finish was peeling. Beds comfy. AC was great. Breakfast had hot and cold items. Average. Fresh fruit. I'd stay here again.

    « Awesome weekend »

We had planned a couple's get away with a Jacuzzi tub and a dinner at Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre and we had an awesome weekend. The hotel was great would love to see them expand the breakfast dining area a little more.

« If You Love & Live for the Odor of Dogs, You Will Indeed Love this Place »

We came in late for a one-night stay. After checking-in, we loaded several bags on a valet and headed down the 100 wing to our room (#141). On the way to the room the odor of canine was pervasive. And, once inside the room the odor persisted. It was late, we were tired, otherwise we would've left and sought out other accommodations in the area. I will say this, the evening staff was very attentive and the place over all was clean!

    5
    « Nice place »

Nice place for the price. Rooms are clean and breakfast is decent. No complaints. People behind desk are very nice but very slow. A bit far off the interstate but not too bad. Coffee and popcorn in lobby.

« Good Location and Pet friendly »

We were northbound travelling home from Florida. This hotel is situated just off I 77 - it is quiet and convenient. The hotel is clean however dated. There is a breakfast bar that has a good selection. The rates were very reasonable. If travel with your pet this would be a great spot as there are places for a walk.

« Excellent Stay at the Hotel »

Our stay at this hotel was extremely fantastic the hotel and amenities are top notch. the bed is the most comfortable for a hotel that we have experienced. We will definitely be stopping there on our next visit through Wytheville WV. V&J

    « Ok Place - Nothing Special »

This is an ok hotel that we would probably stay at again in the future. For the money, it was a pretty good value. My two biggest problems with the facility was that there was no elevator (and, of course, we were put upstairs) and breakfast ends at 9:00 (more on this below). Pro's: Friendly, efficient check-in. Fresh pop corn in lobby upon check-in was a good touch and appreciated. Lobby/breakfast area was very nice (but small). Room was clean and comfortable. Good room rate. Con's: No elevator (big problem in my book). Should retrofit one! Breakfast ending time of 9:00 is too early; especially one weekends. Not nearly enough tables at breakfast the morning we were there (Sunday) - like maybe half as many as were needed. Believe this is directly related to 9:00 ending time on weekends. Lots of folks don't get up real early on weekends and, as a result, many were racing down to breakfast shortly before 9:00 (like us!). If you want to eat in the breakfast area get there early! I've suggested to management that they consider moving the breakfast ending time to 10:00 on weekends (9:30 on weekdays) as I believe that the extra hour would greatly help alleviate the overcrowding that we experienced.

« Excellent Quality in Virginia Countryside »

Traveling Interstate 71 toward the southern east coast we have tried various places. Last year and again this year we selected Best Western Wythville Inn. This year, on request, the staff recommended an excellent local restaurant (1776 Log House Restaurant). Good food and good ambiance. Together, the accomodations of Best Western and the local restaurant, added greatly to our mid-trip overnight stay. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

    « Close to I77 & pet friendly »

The staff couldn't be more friendly. The room was very clean with comfortable beds. When checking in they even had treats at the front desk for our dog & a gated fenced in area where you could let your pet run. (after 9 hours in the car she appreciated that). It was a great stopping point heading home. Nine hours from Florida & seven hours to home. The only big disappointment was the breakfast. The color of the sausage patties was such that I refused to try them & I've never seen 1/4" thick egg patties with the white on the top & what looked like yoke painted on the bottom. Tried one bite & gave up. Many restaurants nearby. We hit Cracker Barrel for dinner, the motel for morning coffee & were forced to stop at Mc Donald's for a quick breakfast before heading home.

    « Needs remodeling »

Beds are very comfortable and breakfast was good. however many repairs are needed in the rooms. Our rooms shower and toilet leaked. The tub leaked so bad that it soaked the carpet outside of the door. This could be a great place just needs some updating done.

    « Horrible - Shouldn't have Best Western Name »

Sorry to say that this hotel was horrible. After coming from the Best Western in Nashville on Music Valley Drive, this place was a dump. They shouldnt even use the Best Western name. Thank goodness we arrived at midnight and went right to bed. Needed a lot of renovation. Room was musty smelling and bathroom was horrible. Didn't even take a shower because tub was disgusting. Breakfast was horrible as well, could have taken the eggs and used them as a freezbie. All and all I would never stay here again.

« Great place to stay! »

We usually stay in Princeton on our way to and from Ohio and North Carolina, but decided to try Wytheville this time. So glad we did!! We had a king bed room that was excellent. The room was clean and spacious. The grounds were well kept as well. There is plenty of room to walk around or toss a Frisbee. There is a fenced in area to let your dog run free, too. There is an outdoor pool that we didn't use, but it looked clean. The included breakfast had choices from sausage and gravy to yogurt to waffles to cold cereals. They even honor AAA cards for a discount! We will definitely stay here again.

    « Another great BW »

The front desk associate was friendly, kind and informative. She went out of her way to address some concerns I had with my trip (directions). My bed was very comfortable, I think my mattress was a tempurpedic. I look forward to staying there again. Thanks y'all!

    3
    « Dated Hotel »

I selected this hotel because it was rated #1 of the Wytheville hotels on Trip Advisor. On the positive side, the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. They are all dedicated to making one's stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, they most likely do not have input in changing the negative aspect, which is the hotel needs a major overhaul to move it from the 1980s to 2017. The carpet is worn, the rooms desperately need renovated, and the breakfast offerings were sparse, bland, and less than healthy.

    « Overnight stay »

My family and I stayed here overnight last week. When we arrived we noticed our son,2 years old,had a high fever, one thing led to another and he got sick, pretty bad. My wife went to the fro t desk and the manager, think her name was Sandra, was so hopefully getting us new bedding and even bringing us Gatorade and ginger ale for him. It was a rough night for us but we felt very thankful for the help we got. My wife thought the beds were very comfortable. Thank you do everything !!

« Excellent Hotel for the Price »

Pros: This was an excellent hotel for the price. The rooms were clean and a nice breakfast was provided. Staff was also very helpful and friendly. The building seems rather old, but the rooms are well kept. Cons: There are not too many restaurant to choose from nearby (mainly just fast-food at a close by truck stop, but that was absolutely fine for us, as we were simply traveling and stopped for a quick night sleep.

« Wish breakfast was better »

Ok stay in a beautiful area. Eggs look fake, packages of grits, but no oatmeal. Beds comfortable enough, but lumpy. Carpet worn in spots, but looked clean enough. Lamps were dusted. I don't trust cleanliness of coffee makers kept in bathroom, so I passed on using in room coffee.

    « Long Trip Home »

Was returning back to Richmond from Alabama. However due to intense rain we needed to stop for the night. Have stayed in BW properties before. This building seemed dated but with newer technology (scan keys). I would stay here again

« Do not forget anything! »

We have stayed at the Wytheville Best Western for several years. This winter we left the motel and forgot our personal bed pillows. I called them as soon as I realized we left them behind. The motel clerk explained the motel policy and told me they would keep our pillows 90 days. Before we left for home, I called to let them know we would be returning to pick up our pillows. When we arrived back at the motel, the manager was on duty. She attempted to locate our pillows but could not find them. She advised she did not have the time to continue to look for them. She said she would locate our pillows and mail them to us at our expense. We did not think this was fair since we had called to advise them of our return. After ten days with no word from the motel, I called them again. I talked to a helpful employee who located our pillows. They were mailed to us but we had to pay the postage. We are very disappointed in the motel policy for returning lost items.

« Great for the price. »

We booked at the last minute and were very pleased with the price. The hotel and the room were clean and contemporary. The breakfast however was mediocre at best. There were plenty of restaurant options nearby and the hotel was close to both interstates.

    4
« Good value for money. »

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The price was very reasonable. The breakfast wasn't great if you like fresh, healthy food, but that is true at most motels. Overall, excellent value for money. We have stayed here before and will do so again.

    « Expected better »

Of all the BW we've stayed in, Wytheville VA is certainly the worst. I certainly would have expected better quality in the cleanliness of the room. Didn't discover the issues until late therefore we remained where we were. Very disappointed.

    « BEst B W in West Virginia »

We had stayed in Morgantown on our return trip from Florida in previous years but were very dissatisfied with the hotel. We're really glad we made the change and stopped in Wyethville this year. Great experience for an overnight while on the road.

    « Love this Hotel »

We travel back and forth from PA to Ga to visit family. Wyethville, VA is our half way point. We drive 10 miles out of the way to come to this hotel. We have a little dog and there is plenty of yard to walk her. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We occasionally grab a quick breakfast on the way out. There are a few good restaurants close by for a good meal when we come in or before we leave

    4
    « Traveling through. »

Very clean and well maintained. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. An upgrade to the new Best Western standards and signage would make it more appealing. Add fresh cut fruit to breakfast. Improve coffee selection.

    5
    « Nice stay »

Easy on/off the freeway. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was big and beds comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good. The next time we are in the area, we will stay at the Best Western

    « Excellent stay »

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. I thought it was new but the desk clerk is was about 10 + years old. It was very clean price really good and the smell of popcorn meet me at the front door. My grand baby said grandie some please. This was a very nice stay.

« Not as good AS LAST STAY »

This is a wonderful hotel that we have stayed in before. However, on this trip the messed up our reservation. It took over an hour to correct the reservation, with me doing most of the research, even though I had a reservation printout. After our stay it took four days to get my credit card charged correctly. They need more front desk staff.

    3
    « DISAPPOINTED »

I had stayed at this hotel in the past but found that not much attention to detail has been met. Even the outdoors are not working and this should be an important safety feature. Anyone could just walk in and roam the halls.

    3
« Good enough! Full breakfast »

The room was adequate and everything worked. Quiet at night. The breakfast was full buffet style not just a 'continental' breakfast. A little off the beaten path but navigation can get you there. Friendly staff. Older property maintained ok

    4
« Quiet and off the main road! »

Nice place, down a quiet country road, yet close to everything. Clean room, friendly staff, the lady at the Reservations desk was so sweet! Close to restaurants and the highway, yet set back enough for a quiet night's rest. Very nice for an overnight stay

    1
    « Very disappointing »

As Wytheville was half way to our destination, we chose to stay here overnight. We were amazed by the lack of attention to this establishment; the pool was green, the sidewalks black for lack of powerwashing, the carpets in the halls dirty. Our room had a musty smell, was missing towels and the shower curtain rod was pulled out of the wall on one end. We called for assistance but it was not fixed nor were we moved to a different room; we propped it up and made do. We complained to the desk in the morning, and they offered a half hearted apology for these issues. The breakfast lacked any warm items. Surprisingly, we were told Sandra Montgomery has been the GM of the place for over twenty years. I can't imagine how. We cancelled all of our reservations at Best Westerns for the rest of our trip and will never book them again.

    5
    « Very nice accommodations »

We have stayed at this Best Western several times on our way between Florida and Ohio. It is very quiet with reasonably priced clean and comfortable rooms. The location is convenient and the staff is great. I highly recommend this Best Western.

    5
    « Biltmore visit »

Nice, clean, comfortable, helpful staff. We have stayed there in the past and stay there whenever we are in the area. It is quiet and the beds are quite comfortable. We would highly recommend it to anyone who may be staying the area. The rooms are large and there is plenty of room for two people to move around comfortably. The lady at the check-in desk was very friendly and helpful.

    « Very comfortable & economical accomodations »

Will definitely stay at this BW hotel again in the future. Highly recommend. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds & great breakfast included. Close to restaurants & close to Interstate. You definitely will not be disappointed if you chose this hotel.

    4
« Another nice overnight stay »

Just off the interstate, and around the corner, it was very quiet and secluded. No road noise could be heard. The morning breakfast was perfect quick start to the day. The nice touch was the hot popcorn for the evening.

« Very Clean hotel with wonderful breakfast »

Within walking distance of Sagebrush Steakhouse, an average restaurant. Hotel has great parking, express checkout, loved the full length mirror o see the back of me in the bathroom, vanity is medium sized, comfortable bed, big desk, great lighting, large flat screen TV, plenty of receptacles to plug into, staff more reserved, two kitchen hostesses kept everything stocked up even though there was a bus load of tourists in dining area at once. There was biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, fruits, I would stay again.

    5
    « BEST WESTERN WYTHEVILLE »

Very courteous throughout the hotel. Great breakfast. Older hotel but clean and up to date. Great location.Walking distance to some restaurants. Would stay here again while traveling south. Nice town to stay in with some interesting places to visit.

    4
    « Pet Friendly »

Enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. I brought my two puppies with me and was given a room close to the exit which made it more convenient with taking the dogs out. Room met all of my needs and was comfortable. My only concern was their outside trash storage area had a lot of trash around it on the ground and a lot of cigarette butts around the picnic tables. The price for the room was excellent for the fall. I would stay here again. Staff at front desk were awesome.

    4
    « Nice »

The bed was comfortable. The room was clean, but the tub was not inviting. The hotel appears to be a bit older, but clean and with a friendly staff. This was a dog friendly hotel for a good price. It was close to food and stores nearby.

    « Extra day wonder »

We were only to stay one night, on our way to Myrtle Beach, N.C., however upon checking with the beach front hotel, we were told to hang loose for a day till things settled down, after Hurricane Matthew... After explaining this to the front desk, we were set up for another day... The staff are very friendly, and accommodating.... The hotel is also in a very scenic area, with plenty to do.. Thanks Best Western for an exceptional stay..

    5
« Best Pet Friendly Hotel! »

We have stayed at other "Pet Friendly" hotels in the past but were not very pleased with them for one thing or another but we decided to pay the "little extra" and stay at a Best Western and for now on we will try and seek out a Best Western for any trip in the future, it was that great. We could not have been happier! The very nice continental breakfast made up for the difference in price. We ended up booking another Best Western in Knoxville for our return home and were just as pleased.

« Church homecoming and visit with old friends. »

The room and facility were nice and clean. Staff was very courteous and helpful. I was concerned that the entrance door at the rear of the building was stuck and wouldn't close, causing some security issues.

« Very nice BW and pet friendly »

Excellent experience and great view of the mountains. Friendly staff. Only negative is they need to replace their towels which are worn out (at least in our room). Lots of room to walk your dog and they have a little dog run!

« Turn left off of I-77 southbound »

Never knew a BW was at this exit,..will stay here from now on when we travel south . Very clean and comfortable...our breakfast was crowded but that was due to Hurricane Matthew and everyone getting as far north as possible.

    « Best Ever »

This stay I will consider the best ever for the price. A great value. The two people at the desk were professional, helpful and willing to assist in any way. I asked about dining areas and promptly was told his suggestions. The room was perfect. The television worked and so did the lobby computer. Amazing. Thanks I will come again

    3
    « Average BW hotel »

The person when we called for reservations was very kind and told us of a coupon in the regional travel brochure at the visitor center. He said it was a light booking day and there would still be rooms available. This worked out very well for us. The hotel was quite adequate. The breakfast was good, and had a nice atmosphere dining area. The only negative, and did not affect us, was the light in the bathroom. The overhead light had a problem and was disconnected. In its place a living room pole lamp was placed in the room. Not an issue, but a little awkward. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel itself was a bit hard to find. Coming in from one direction the sign was not visible, and did not see a sign on the building itself from the road. After passing the neighboring hotels and realizing we had gone too far it was easy to find driving in the other direction.

    1
    « Noisey »

3 to 4 hours of listening to a jack-hammer out side our window. I mean right outside. The lady at the front desk did not offer to let us switch rooms. She told us that the manager would adjust our bill, which has never happened. Stay away from this one.

    4
« Travel back from Myrtle Beach »

Stopped here over night with my wife on my way back from Myrtle Beach. The location was great and was very easy to get back on the highway. There are plenty of places to eat a Fuel up for the next day. Dogs were permitted and it did seem like a nice dog park in the back. My room was extremely clean with comfortable. Breakfast was above average. I got a good deal from Hotels .com but would not have wanted to pay the retail price for the room which was $199 according to the back of the door as it's not a glitz and glamor hotel but clean and comfortable.

    1
« Not worth your money. »

With a toilet not bolted to the floor and outlet plates hanging out of the wall I don't think you want to spend your money for a room here. Another guest also complained that their room was not clean when they arrives and the desk person stated that oh yes there are 4 rooms that didn't get cleaned. Definitely not well run and also not easy to find from the internet. There are many many other options in Wytheville.

    4
« nice place to camp out »

we have friends who live near by, we previously have stayed at a Best Western in an other town near-by - this Best Western was by far considerably better..... if we had more time we could have utilized the other amenities (ie: fitness center, which had a few cardio machines and some free weights) breakfast was comparable to other hotels in this price range, nice comfortable place to camp out for the night.

    5
« Very Nice Place to Stay »

I was surprised when reading the other reviews, and how disappointed they were. We had a room downstairs, 104, and thought it to be very nice. It was a big room. The beds were good. It had a micro and fridge in the room. They had plenty of access to sockets to charge your cell phones and whatever else you needed to plug in. The breakfast choices were several; including waffles, 6 kinds of cold cereals, oatmeal, biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage patties, donuts, muffins, bread, fresh fruit, canned fruit, yogurts, 3 kinds of juices. The eating area was very nice and homey. They even had dog treats for the dog guests they had. They said there was a dog park close by. We did have to go to the other building for ice, and the pool did not look inviting, We had just stayed at a Sheraton the 3 days prior and liked this Best Western better and the price was certainly lots less.

    3
« Quick stay, probably would try a different one... »

My husband and I with our 2 small dogs stayed here for 1 Sunday night. It was fine for an older hotel... It needs updating. The carpets were very worn, the bedding was well used, the shower/bath is a one-piece combo that feels less than solid, and the refrigerator didn't do much to keep things any colder than our insulated cooler with mildly cool ice packs. Our dogs spent a LOT of time sniffing the walls and carpet, making us wonder how well it had been cleaned. Breakfast was mediocre at best, not that we were expecting anything gourmet, but it was worse than most. The air conditioning... we had it set to 72 and it was very hot; we ended up putting it at 64 just to get it reasonably comfortable to sleep (it was only mid 60s outside). Also, this hotel is a little harder to access than many others at the same exit. With all of this being said, it was fairly inexpensive so for the price, maybe this is what you get in this area. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and it was pretty quiet for a pet friendly hotel. We would try a different hotel if available, but if this was our only option, we would stay here again.

    3
    « Disappointed »

We were disappointed in this Best Western. The outdoor pool was very dirty and quite cold. Did not feel comfortable letting our children swim in it. This was the only reason we picked this place. Our room door looked like it had been a dog's chew toy and the carpet by the door was shredded. We will not stay here again.

  • 3
    « Probably won't stay here again »

Stayed here a couple of years ago (room on first floor) and did not review at that time. The room was comfortable, but we were not favorably impressed because of active kids upstairs (until late) and an overcrowded breakfast area in the morning. We normally book a room over the phone while driving. We have been staying with Best Western because of reward points. When booking this time I didn't think about the disatisfaction with the last visit. This time we were given a room on the second floor (there would not be anyone above us). The room and beds were comfortable but the toilet was not bolted to the floor and thus wobbled when we sat on it. The ice machine was downstairs at the other end of the building a little inconvenient, but OK. While the placement was inconvenient it turned out that the machine was also out of order. Ice was still available but in the other wing of the motel. Breakfast congestion was better but only because we ate after the rush. Food was OK. While we were checking in another guest came to the desk to complain that he had been assigned a room which had not been cleaned. I don't know how that was resolved.

    4
« A view for the right price »

Loved the location and scenery at those hotel. I didn't book it for the views, it was just a good price..... So that was an added perk. The breakfast was just like most free hotel breakfasts. The room was clean, I have no complaints.

    5
« Left nothing to be desired! »

Had just spent three nights in a Holiday Inn Express. This Best Western was better and less expensive. We arrived just in the middle of a busload of nice older folks and the reception staff managed to handle everyone with dispatch and aplomb. The wi-fi did not work well at HEE but worked perfectly here at Best Western. Good job; great room; great price.

    4
« Satisfying way station. Low-key, no nonsense resting place at a reasonable rate »

After a long drive north from Florida, the Wytheville, VA Best Western provided an understated, restful room for my weary road warriors to recover in. The rooms were clean, and the beds refreshing to our tired bodies. We had a room on the bottom floor, near the wing's entrance. In spite of this proximity, we were able to blissfully sleep in a room unmolested by the sounds of coming and going. The front desk personnel were pleasant.and made my transaction a breeze. They provided a square deal, a simple exchange of a fair priced room for an appreciated rest. I would definitely spend the night with them again.

    5
    « Great stay »

Stay here all the time always a great experience. Clean great breakfast and friendly staff. Never had a bad stay here, we stay on our way to visit family at least twice a year and make sure we stay at this hotel.

    3
    « Ok Western »

This one is a little tired. The receptionist was excellent - attentive, responsive and very pleasant. But the room was lacking in three star detail ..... very sparse information literature was well thumbed, towels a little thin, curtain hanging off rail, etc.....

    « Great Hotel »

Was stranded in town due to a breakdown, they let me check in early and relax after dealing with the repair company. My room was very quiet and comfortable. Hot breakfast was very good. People very friendly including clerk on duty when I checked in. Thanks for a great stay

    4
    « Quiet Getaway »

This hotel is seeing some age and needs some updating. That said, the hotel is in a very nice location where Freeway traffic (e.g. trucks, etc.) is non existent in the rooms. The staff has always been very nice whenever we have stayed there. Special facilities offered by the hotel have not been used as this usually is a stop over for a nite on long distance travel.

    2
« VERY VERY LOUD!!!! Poor customer service at the front desk, poor food...... »

We followed the reviews on TripAdvisor and regret doing so. The room was clean but we never slept at all. The air conditioner was SO SO Loud. There were children running the halls at all hours of the night. The walls are paper thin so we could hear talking. Doors slammed all night long...it was HORRIBLE. The next morning we worked our way down to the dining area at 8 am (open until 9 am). The food was sparse.....syrup empty and coffee empty. I tried to find someone in the prep area with now luck. Upon Checking out the girl at the front desk( standing next to the lady older than her) Was unfriendly and never acknowledged me. She grabbed my room card, looked at something in the computer and said "your checked out". Never thanked me for staying or said goodbye. VERY RUDE. DO NOT STAY HERE We have stayed at at few other best westerns while traveling and decided they just are not up to our expectations, Stick with a Hampton Inn or similar.

« Nice Best Western to stay at »

Located in an extremely scenic area of Virginia, it makes for a nice place to stay. The lobby and breakfast area are elegantly designed and comfortable. Excellent coffee served 24 hours per day. Would have stayed one more day if we could have.

« Smell of Smoke in Non-Smoking Room »

Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke so we asked to be moved. While doing so, another hotel guest was complaining of his non-smoking room smelling of chewing tobacco. The front desk did accommodate us by giving us keys to another room along with a bottle of Febreze!

    5
« Much nicer than many Best Westerns »

This is a very well-kept property with upgraded beds and the most pleasant breakfast area that we have ever found in a budget motel - set apart from the food and overlooking the outdoor pool. Nice staff, clean and comfortable.

    « Nice Overnighter »

Had a bit of a problem before we arrived there with BW reservations, which we eventually got straightened out.. They gave us a confirm for another party, but rebooked us fine... The hotel is near the highway, close to restaurants and we had a very nice room, clean as a whistle, nice view of countryside. Breakfast was BW's usual and that is really all you need and was fine with us. Staff was very helpful with us re our WIFI and we appreciated that very much... Would stay here again if in the area...

    5
    « Great service! »

Came from NY and GPS got us lost. Called and Alta was very helpful in guiding us straight to the hotel. She found us a room on the first floor near the pool (I have a bad back) and even brought us a stack of extra towels. Stay was very nice and the kids loved the pool. Top notch service and clean rooms.

    2
« Non-smoking was wet and musky smelling »

Room was musky smelling. Gave us frebreze to attempt to help but did little. Outside security doors on both end of section did not work. Not work the money for sure. Could not trade out room as the area was booked for Bristol race. Won't make this mistake again.

    4
    « Very Nice Hotel! »

This was nice to stay! Staff was friendly and courteous. Easy to get in and out on the interstate. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area. Our kids took advantage of the pool and they had the small pool towels available (thankfully). Laundry facilities available, but in the workout room. Only one washer and one dryer. LONG way to walk, as we were on the other side of the hotel, to find out that it was BUSY.....

    « Overnight Stays 6/10/16 and 6/18/15 »

Traveling to our beach destination, we always stop here as our midway point for the night. Easy access to the interstate and close to many restaurants and gas stations. Rooms are a bit dated but clean for the most part. Beds are also comfortable, Complimentary breakfast is your noral fare. Also like the fact that coffee is always available. The only downside of our stay on the 18th was that the bathroom light fixture (above the sink) would not stay lit. Very annoying when you're in the shower. Had to use the floor lamp from the room for light. Notified the front desk but no maintenance person was available. Def a safety issue that should be addressed. Also have to give kudos to the front desk girls, Victoria and Nancy for their great customer service that we observed during our stays.

« Another Best Western experience »

This is my first stay at Best Western Wytheville Inn, Wytheville in Virginia. I did not feel the same comparing to other Best Western Hotel. Our room was on 2nd floor and there was no elevator. It was hard to carry our boxes to the room. We did not see any hotel staff there except one at the reception counter. There was no staff at the breakfast area to assist the customers.

    « Disappointed »

My family and I were traveling by car to Tybee Island, GA for a family vacation and decided to break up the drive with a overnight hotel stay. We used Hot Wire to rent two rooms and Best Western was the deal. I have stayed at Best Westerns before so I did not expect too much. We were disappointed with both rooms because of the condition of the bathrooms, the bed linens and the overall cleanliness of the rooms. The bed linens were worn and no longer white and the bathroom walls, baseboards, floors, toilets and tubs were dirty from the result of improper cleaning over and over. One bathroom and one bedroom had hair (blonde compared to our dark haired group) on the floor. The overall condition of this hotel is run down. Both front desk clerks (the only staff visible) that I encountered one in the evening and one in the morning were friendly and pleasant. The views were beautiful! The coffee was excellent and the complimentary breakfast was decent. The location was the halfway point for our trip so the hotel fit our needs as it was on the way. The other thing that was disappointing was to find that we were booked on the second floor of the hotel without knowing the hotel does not have an elevator. There was no offer of assistance with our luggage either . This could have proved challenging. The hotel stay was the low point of our family vacation to Tybee. This proves the point that you get what you pay for!

« It was fine for a night, but not great breakfast »

This was a fine hotel, but we stayed at a discount due to accumulated Expedia points. Not sure the standard rate would be a good value; the breakfast was sub-par with not many options. However, our overall stay was fine for a night and we had no other major complaints.

Typical Best Western. Pet friendly. Stunning views. Standard breakfast fare. Easy on and off I81. Would book again if in area. For the most part BW in the south are not on par with those in the North East but this one was pretty close.

    « Needs work »

I spent the night in 228. Bedding was very good. The furniture was worn and felt sticky like dirty (wooden arm chair). The toilet paper assembly was held in place with masking tape (don't pull the tissue with just one hand). Paint spots on the ceramic tile, dirty bath vent grill to name the most obvious issues in the room. The landscaping needs weeded. The breakfast was very good, and our receptionist was very congenial. Parking is good, our room was quiet (outside noise). Most rooms have a nice mountain view. I do not like pet friendly hotels that do not have "dedicated" rooms for the owners with pets.

    4
    « Comfortable »

Though we had a leak in our bathroom ceiling, we were given another room and a staff member helped us move. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The rooms were also very clean. The breakfast was beyond my expectations of a continental breakfast. We really enjoyed that.

    « Overnight Stay »

Traveling back from Florida, I stopped at a rest stop to book a hotel for the night. Best Western had the best rates. Front desk was very friendly and helpful when looking for somewhere to eat. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was your usual hotel continental breakfast.

    « Comfort & Affordable »

The rooms and bed were very clean & comfortable. Staff and housekeeping very curtious. Breakfast was decent & had small lines due to many family groups there at the same time. Check-in and check-out were smooth sailings with no difficulty or long wait time.

    « Lost my reservation »

I made my reservation 3 weeks in advance, received an email day before confirming it. We my family arrived they said they had a computer malfunction and lost my reservation, but somehow tried to call me? At first said they had no rooms, try to find me one at another hotel. Then gave me a room w dbl. beds at a discount. Original resv. was 2 queen beds.

    « Quick stay »

Made a reservation here on our way north. Got in about 10 out by 8. Place was just what we needed a place to lay our heads and grab a quick bite in morning rooms a bit on older side. Overall clean and comfortable. Easy on and off for the highway. Would use again if in area

the grounds were well kept, the view was beautiful, the staff kind and helpful, the pool/ pool area was clean and enjoyable, liked the lobby/breakfast area's lodge feel. The toilet in our room didn't work- was fixed, then the bathroom light wouldn't come back on..haha.. slight inconvenience. they tried to move rooms, but was full up. Maintenance was very helpful. all ended well. the breakfast was REALLY good. biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, etc

    « Wonderful experience »

This motel was clean and a very good deal. Bed was comfortable, the in room frig was very helpful, and the pool was a wonderful refresher after a day of driving. I would recommend this hotel for all travelers. A good value for the money. No complaints.

    « Not a great experience »

Sadly- had to wait last evening for desk clerk to come in from her smoke break to check in. She did give us a great recommendation for dinner though. This morning no one was at the front desk for more thank 20 minutes- people milled around waiting for someone to come and finally there were 4 employees there all doing something else. I found one of them to let her know that there had been no hot water for tea/hot chocolate for more than 30 minutes. Her response "sorreee". Checked later and someone had filled it but water was cold. Very inattentive to breakfast area; woman with a dog (on a leash) in the food area getting her breakfast which I believe is a health code violation - dog was very well behaved and leashed but should be in food prep area. Rooms were clean; location very convenient but customer service is slipshod at best.

« Just passing through, save $ and go down the road to Days Inn »

Booked this hotel through Costco over our usual Days Inn down the road for one night on the way to Myrtle Beach. We paid a base rate of $98 for a room with two queen beds, over $20 more than the Days Inn thinking it may be a little nicer and it is a true hotel with interior corridors vs. motel style. It is located off of the highway in a peaceful setting, which is nice, but my entire family agrees it is not worth the extra $. The hall ceilings are low and drooping in spots, there is a musty smell throughout, the tub drain was closed and there was a half inch of water in the tub from the faucet leaking. One of the chairs in the room is rickety and has a big stain on it. The beds and floors look fairly clean...hope beds are comfy. Also, the beds look more like full size and we paid extra for queen size. The lady at the front desk was nice. The outdoor pool looks small but nice. Oh, this musty smell..... Also, no hotel guide or directory of services or television guide in our room. We will stay at the Days Inn again, basic but a better value for our dollar for a one night stay just to rest.

    3
« Overall a good hotel experience but not a good reservation and check-in experience. »

Experienced trouble with reservations -- had 4 rooms confirmed but were told that the hotel had been overbooked by 26 rooms when we arrived. From a customer service standpoint this situation was poorly handled -- I feel the manager should have dealt with the situation directly rather than leaving it up to the desk clerk.

    2
    « Not a good stay »

Our check-in was smooth. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. But our stay went down hill from there. We weren't right next to the door but it felt like our room shook every someone slammed the door. We heard all the activity in the hall way - late at night and early in the morning. The people in the room above us walked back and forth and back and forth until the wee hours of the morning and then they were up at 5 am walking back and forth again. The refrigerator didn't make our drinks cold. We were unable to get on the wifi at night - it must have been congestion as we were able to get on in the morning. The breakfast area was jam packed. People were strewn all over the first floor trying to find a place to eat. The breakfast crew seemed harried.

    4
    « They welcome motorcycles »

The staff is very friendly and the location is in the middle of endless great motorcycle roads. You can go mountain road exploring all day and return to the motel and enjoy a steak dinner at the restaurant next door. The hotel is very motorcycle friendly

    2
    « A little run down. »

Hotel had a good location right off the freeway but pretty outdated. Mold on ceiling in bathroom. Floor sticky by ice machine with an odd aroma. Lots of options for breakfast but not enough seating. Steakhouse nearby - walking distance.

    3
« Stay at Best Western »

Hotel was comfortable and the lobby was well laid out as was the breakfast area. The room and the bathroom were both spacious and well laid out. The hotel is well setback from the highway so a quiet location.

    4
« Nice place for one nite stay »

Clean motel with breakfast included was what we wanted after being on the road over 11 hours. The motel not too far off the highway but quiet and comfortable. Bed were good and bathroom clean. Very friendly staff and good breakfast in the morning. We would stay there again

    « Great Stay »

We were on our way up to Ohio and we were looking for a place reasonable to stay that was not in West Virginia. This hotel was very nice for what it was. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was a nice surprise as well. Check in and Out was very efficient. We would definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Road Trip »

We have been on a Best Western road trip since we left Vancouver BC. Most are average, some are great. We had an easy check in and the room was fine. No noise. We didn't use the pool etc as long distance travel was necessary. BW breakfasts are predictable the downfalls are usually cleanliness and noise. This one was OK

    1
    « Don't bother! »

Have stayed in worst hotels but can't remember when. Best Western has been crossed off our list of hotels to stay in. Ice machines did not work. Pool was much smaller than advertised. Bathroom sink would not drain. Toilet was rocking. Staff not friendly or helpful. Internet speed was a major joke.

    4
    « Exceeded my expectations »

We usually stay at the LaQuinta, but their rates for the night we needed were very high. I chose to stay here based upon others reviews. The room was clean and perfect for us just passing through. The ac in one of the rooms took a long time to cool but worked fine in the other. The tub drained very slow and we had a very difficult time connecting to wifii. The breakfast was great. And my kids loved the pool. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Wow what a view »

The location is more suitable for a luxury hotel or a bed and breakfast, as the view is spectacular. The hotel is on a hillside with a view of mountains and hills all around. It is just off the freeway but since it is away from the freeway exit it feels like you are in the country. It is a normal chain hotel but the setting makes it worth it. Once inside it is the same as everywhere else, standard mid priced hotel quality - no complaints. But here the best part was going to and from the car because I had this view in front of me.

    « Excellent stay »

I have stayed 3 times in Wytheville during my travels in Southern U.S. Modern hotel, great breakfast options. Clean and bike user friendly with easy access to local restaurant. Easily accessible and friendly and knowledgeable staff.

    « wytheville visit »

This is a very efficient and attractive best western hotel. The staff is efficient and friendly, The grounds and buidling are very nice and the surroung areas are quite scenic. Breakfast is good and served in a niecly appointed dining area. For the price this is an outstanding value. Be sure to check coupon magtazines offered at welcome centers for discount coupons.

« Perfectly fine hotel in a rural location »

When we first saw the hotel, we thought it was perhaps not open. But we walked in to find a very comfortable and well-appointed lobby and were quickly checked in. We were followed by any number of other guests checking in the for night. We were very happy and well satisfied with the hotel and would certainly stay here again.

    2
« Could use some improvements »

We stayed there last night. The room had a musty smell to it. The bed was fairly comfortable. Nice to have fridge and microwave in room, but the door to the freezer compartment was broken off. The breakfast was not very good at all. Glad we only stayed one night.

    3
    « Pleasantly Surprised »

Clean and conveniently located off the interstate. A little dated but you could tell they are in the process of updating. Breakfast wasn't too bad, the coffee was really good. The room had a mini fridge and a microwave.

  • 4
« Great value and neat layout »

We rented a Jacuzzi tub room. I absolutely loved that the hot tub had steps up into it. But what was coolest was that there was a door on the other side of the hot tub that provided bathroom access. Also had popcorn in the front lobby, a nice treat. Our air conditioner did not work and there was no other room available but we were given a generous discount to compensate for it.

    3
« Good rest stop when traveling through area. »

Stayed here on way through Va while on vacation. Staff were friendly and the room was clean. Breakfast the next morning was actually better than expected for the price of the room. Good hotel for resting on way through Va. Decor is a little dated but definitely would return when driving through Wytheville next time.

    4
    « Nice stay »

We stayed here as s stopover, traveling to South Carolina. The room was nice and clean, decorated nicely, beds and pillows comfy. Flatscreen television, microwave, and mini fridge in room. I got this room for $88 total with the AAA discount. Well worth it, and they have a free continental breakfast. I'd stay here again.

    4
« Beautiful setting in Blue Ridge mountains. I had a great view from one of the western facing rooms. »

Very clean, very quiet, easy to get too off the interstate. Reasonable price. Restaurants are a little tricky to get too but its probably just my gps finding the shortcuts. I think its a few miles from the hotel to cracker barrel or fast food but I got back on interstate, still easy to get too. I felt safe. Slept well. No issues.

    2
« Downshill since our last visit »

If you are a non-smoker, be aware that they allow smoking directly in front of the entrance to the hotel. I had to walk between four to five people smoking on both sides of the doorway. The rooms are "okay". Some areas in our room could have been a little cleaner. The hair dryer filters are very dirty. I told them about it at our last visit. What used to be a great breakfast is now terrible. My husband always raved about their biscuits and gravy. This time they were inedible, extremely doughy. They didn't have any fresh fruit available, other than cut up in a "fruit salad". They have remodeled with new door locks on the outside and interior doors. After we were in bed, we heard the door between our room and the next trying to open. People were laughing and carrying on in the hallway, banging doors and a dog was barking for most of the night. We have stayed here many times over the past few years; this was our worse visit.

    2
    « Move to MD »

We stopped for one night on our way to MD from Nashville. We checked in late at night. The front desk did not write wifi code on the key card envelope like most places do. Our AC was not working. This may be an isolated case. We went and asked the lady at front desk and she told us to unplug the AC and restart it and to call her if didn't work. AC is the old model with no thermostat. We were tired and decided not to ask for it again. So no AC overnight but luckily the weather outside was in high 60s so we were able to tolerate it for one night without functioning AC. The housekeeper walked into our room without knocking on the door or saying house keeping. He just opened the door and walked in while we were in the room. Not just once but twice about 30 mins apart. He seems like a nice guy so I do not want him to get into trouble with his job. So please keep him. Please let him know it is not appropriate. Overall experience is okay for the price I pay for but I think I can get better service with the same price at some other best western. I am not going back to this location.

    « FULLY MET EXPECTATIONS »

After my wife had an accident, we phoned the Inn and asked for a handicapped room, if available. When we arrived, our request was granted; very clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent restaurant, Sagebrush Steakhouse, is a quarter mile away. Very pleasant stay in all aspects plus it was 20 degrees cooler in the hills. Plus, the Best Western res site works very smoothly.

« Best Western can do better »

Extremely disappointed in this hotel. Our room was dirty and I mean dirty! The bathroom had hair in it and we had a dirty towel. When brought to the attention of the front desk, they did not even try to compensate for this lack of cleanliness. There was something falling/hanging out of a wall socket. You should be able to stay at a value hotel and still expect it to be clean!

    2
    « Not acceptable »

Upon arriving for check in, another guest was inquiring on the cleanliness of his room. Alta mentioned they had a full house the night before and understaffed. The overall feel of that interaction was the customer was going to have to deal with it. This is completely unacceptable in customer service. I have been in this field for 20 years. It is NEVER the customer's problem to "deal" with a dirty facility. Also, the pool was dirty. I personally had to get the netting and clean it so we could enjoy the pool. One last note, any time I had a question for Alta or April, it appeared I as inconveniencing them though they were the only ones who could answer my questions. Simply out, it was a poor experience. I guess you really do get what you pay for. On a positive note, the breakfast was fresh and delicious.

    3
    « Quiet location. »

Our room was fine and we had a decent breakfast in a unique dining area. Used the guest laundry which could use a chair to sit on while waiting for the clothes to finish, Since it shares space with the exercise equipment and TV there is ample room for seating. $7.75 for ONE load including wash and dry! Evening staff seemed less than welcoming and trouble with rates seemed common. They did honor the coupon we picked up at the VA Visitor Center so we were pleased.

  • 3
    « Less than Dazzeled »

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past five years. It is about half way to our destination north from Tampa. We enjoyed our stays in the past but we a bit disappointed this time. The room was not as tidy as we remembered ... hair on the shower wall, no shampoo/conditioner, the cable/tv/electrical box was hanging of the wall, and in general the property was in need of TLC. The staff was helpful and polite.

    5
« Great place, great breakfast, Clean and good location »

I have stayed here many times. They are friendly, clean and have a great breakfast. Coffee available at any time! Good location right off the interstate. They are pet friendly. I have recommend this hotel to friends and family all were very happy with their stays. I stay here on the way to Tennessee each year and always a Pleasure!

    3
    « Quiet and remote »

This hotel is conveniently located to the I-81/I-77 corridor, but is situated remotely to most of the dining establishments in the area. So driving to dine is essential. The physical facility is relatively modern and the rooms adequately furnished and clean. If there is an elevator, it was not obvious so you have to carry your luggage if on the 2nd floor. Internet was reliable and channel selection adequate. Given the property's location, it is very quiet and isolated from road noise. Desk clerks were not very helpful and bordered on curtness.

    4
    « Good Hotel »

We were passing through on the way to Florida and ended up booking this Hotel last minute. They had lots of parking, welcome popcorn, a coffee station, quick check in, free wifi, nice out door pool and a free breakfast with eggs, sausage, toast, muffins, waffles, mini doughnuts, cereal, yogurt, apples oranges and a selection of juices. The room was a normal room with comfy beds. It was great for the night. I would stay here again.

    2
« Below Average Best Western »

The worst Best Western I have ever stayed at. Although rooms were clean, hotel smelled musty. Desk clerks were polite but not very friendly--when there! On two occasions (we were there 2 nights), the desk was unoccupied and I has to stand around and wait for service! The breakfast was okay but they had no staff to wipe the tables as people left! I will avoid this hotel when I go to our family reunion next year.

    5
    « Comfy »

A little worn and aged, but clean. The beds were super comfy and the whole hotel smelled nice. Off the interstate, so it was peaceful. The only thing is that if you are on the first floor, you can hear everything that is going on above you, but the people above us could just have had lead feet. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    2
« Very disappointed in this Best Western »

I have never given a bad review to any hotel we have ever stayed in, but after our experience at this Best Western, I will think twice about staying at another Best Western. When making reservations, I specifically asked if this hotel had cribs and was assured they did and to just ask for one at check in. When we arrived with our 9 month old grandson and asked for a crib, we were informed that this Best Western doesn't have cribs. Our second issue was with the swimming pool that was completely covered with grass clippings and some trash. I'm not talking about a little grass, the entire pool was covered. I had to use the net cleaner to remove all of the grass and paper from the pool before I could let my 10 year old granddaughter into the water. The third issue was the room safe did not work. The only positive thing about staying here was the complimentary breakfast. The selection of food was very good. This didn't make up for the lack of a crib or the dirty pool. I will not stay at this Best Western again and would not recommend it to others.

    2
    « Clean? »

This was listed as a Best Western Plus. It doesn't even come close. The staff seemed to care less, the room was dirty, and the "free breakfast" was a joke. Complaints to the manager on duty brought nothing to the table and they seemed annoyed that we would even bring up the quality of service and cleanliness.

    5
    « Holiday Vacation »

The Rooms are always clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The Beds are comfortable and the breakfast has a good variety. The lobby and eating area is rustic looking. The hotel is located near gas stations and restaurants and near the highway.

    « Good Stays »

This hotel has pleasant rooms, very comfortable beds and a good breakfast. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful when it came to finding a place to eat or directions to someplace. We make this trip several times a year and will be staying here again.

« Clean, Comfortable but worn »

We stopped at this Best Western on our way to GA to visit family. This is my second visit to this venue. Nothing to brag about but was clean, comfortable beds and pillows, nice variety on the breakfast buffet. In-laws loved the make your own waffles! I was very irritated when I tried to get a bottle of water from the vending machine. First machine wouldn't take dollars. Found a second machine that took dollars but didn't give anything in return! Had to track someone down who told me "oh yea, just put change in that one there -it doesn't accept bills) so back to the first machine..... (a sign on the machines would have been helpful) Overall an ok stay for a quick rest when traveling. Will probably try another hotel next time for comparison. There are plenty to choose from Note: This is a 2 level with no elevator. I would hate to drag my suitcase upstairs!. Luckily we just had a small overnight bags.

    4
    « Breakfast & Staff »

Breakfast was unattended, tables were not cleaned and trash was overflowing from the bins n to the floor. There was food particle left everywhere - so it just was not attended to very well, and not replenished often, and the staff didnt seem to care, too busy chatting together in the office, and the attendant and front desk clerk were on smoke break!

    5
    « 2nd Stay Here »

This was my 2nd stay at this Best Western. Nice hotel and its off the road from the highway so less noise. Hotel is set up nice. Wi-Fi just a little slow. Staff is friendly and professional. I'm sure I will stay here again when traveling through Virginia. Sagebrush Steakhouse right next door, good food and was very convenient.

    3
« Clean but a little ragged and not the most functional »

Got an excellent rate, so I shouldn't complain too much. The place wasn't bad, just OK. You also have to consider where you are at too. So, relatively speaking compared to other places I've stayed in the area this isn't any worse than other comparable hotels. First, there was no elevator to cart our luggage up to the second floor. Also, the closet was essentially a notch in the wall. The bottom portion was taken up by a safe, so you couldn't put luggage in it. The vanity in the bathroom sat very, very low. The furniture was quite worn, dated, and a bit more basic than you would expect for this type of establishment. The sheets were kind of worn. The blanket on the bed looked like it came from Walmart. The carpet was worn. Basically, the hotel was missing those slightly enhanced touches typical of a 2.5 star motel. We looked at the breakfast buffet. It wasn't worth eating to us. We headed to Cracker Barrel. The mattress was a bit cushy but slept well. The room had a smal microwave oven and a decent sized refrigerator. It also had a decent size flat screen TV with a mixture of HD and analog reception. The TV channel selection was pretty good.

    5
« Nice stay in Wytheville »

Good value and easy access to town of Wytheville and back to the highway. Restaurants close by. (Check out the Log House Restaurant in Wytheville.) Never have a problem with Best Western motels in my travels.

    « economical »

Staff friendly and courteous. I have stayed at this particular property multiple times as it is a target destination from Florida to New York. Well maintained. Courteous staff. Great breakfast every time. Beautiful quiet country setting. Look forward to future stays. Lots of local activities and tourist attactions for the area.

    3
    « Room smelled terrible »

The hotel is fairly nice but the room had a horrible odor to it. The front desk gave me a bottle of febreze to spray in the room but it did not do any good. I talked to another guest while at the front desk and he had the same problem.

    5
« Great place to stay »

We always stop in Wytheville on our trip up north and back home. Once we found Best Western, we have always gone back. Great staff, clean rooms, just an all around great experience. Easy access to the highway, good food nearby, but not too crowded where you hear a ton of noise.

    5
    « Excellent accommodations »

Everything about this hotel was top-notch. Access from the interstate was easy and only a short drive. The exterior and the interior of the hotel and the surrounding area were beautiful. A great place to stay. We'll definitely stay here on our next trip through this area.

    4
« Good value if Online Rate is requested when booking. Clean, comfortable rooms, fine for a short stay. »

We've stayed at this hotel each of the past two years, when returning home to Canada following our family vacation in Florida. We will likely book a room here again in 2017, as well. We feel the hotel offers reasonable value with rooms that we've always found to be clean and comfortable. The breakfast is the usual hotel fare which is convenient and fine for getting a start to your day before heading out for a long day on the road. I'd prefer if the eggs were served scrambled rather than as preformed disks but that's just one man's opinion.

« Best Western Wythville, VA »

Great place to stay. No issues other than a VERY noisy air conditioner unit. Comfortable bed and clean sheets and linens. Wish there had been an elevator to the second floor. Steps are tough while dragging suitcases up them, but it was manageable.

    « Virginia adventure for 5 »

Expected better. Card entries had to be re-done. Stuck outside in the rain due to that. Fridge froze everything. We had 3 rooms. One w/broken TV. They did move us though but that room smelled of mildew. Toilet in another of our rooms was not attached to the floor. They put a wedge under it. We were there 6 days and not fixed. Breakfast was poor quality and no variety for 6 days.

    3
    « Needs a facelift »

Hotel served the purpose. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms and lobby had a dated and worn feel. Breakfast was fine. Price was comparable for the accommodations. Check in person was friendly and helpful. Would probably choose a different hotel coming through next time. Good restaurant nearby.

    5
    « EASY STAY »

Our night was fine! The bed was comfortable and that was all we needed. This hotel is situated in a pretty setting with grasslands all around and mountains in the background. We had a good meal at the Sagebrush for Sunday dinner.

    3
« Good value but a very tired hotel »

We used this hotel for an overnight stay during a long road trip. We chose it because it accepts dogs for a nominal $10 fee. The staff were helpful but my overriding impression is that this is a hotel badly in need of a renovation. But we were only there for 8 hours before jumping back in the car so for $70 plus dog you get what you pay for.

« Good service, good value »

« Good choice in the area. Clean »

This facility is clean & well maintained. It is located at the intersection of I-77 & I-81 The good: Price - $59.99 with hotel coupon from the books available at rest areas. Reception ? efficient Lobby ? public computer, raised seating area for breakfast with a TV. There is a large room off of the lobby for the breakfast buffet. This makes for an efficient operation. Cleanliness- room was very clean Amenities ? Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, flat screen TV, blow dryer Beds- comfortable Very quiet Heat- A/C ? wall unit worked fine The Bad: The Wi-Fi was slow in the room. It was great in the lobby. The intersection at the main road has limited site on the right side. Exercise caution. The raised dining area in the lobby is not wheelchair accessible. There is one small table outside of the raised dining area for wheelchair dining.

    « Always a nice stay »

Rooms are comfortable; bed is also comfortable. We called for reservations while on the road; the first time we called, the person could not tell us approximately where we would be stopping; she could only look up locations by city and state, whereas previously the staff at the 800 number was able to tell us by looking at a map where we would be. The next time we called, the hotel we wanted was full, but the person on the line was able to tell us where there were other available locations. That was more helpful. Quality of helpfulness seems to vary.

« Disappointed In Best Western »

We have found that Best Western offers great accommodations with competitive rates, but this Best Western did not fit the bill. First, it does not have an elevator. There are 2 floors, so walking up one flight of steps for some people might not be a big deal, but it was a big deal to me. After requesting a room on the top floor when I made the reservation and realizing there was no elevator, the front desk staff changed our room to the first floor. The room was dated, the bathroom was not as clean as I would prefer and there was a whining noise when using the shower. There were stains on the cushion of one of the armchairs in the room. The breakfast was average. It was okay for a one-night stay, but the next time we are traveling through we'll opt for other accommodations.

« Quick Crash on Road Trip »

My wife and I were traveling cross country to TN. and half way through the trip we need to take a quick break to sleep and eat. Best western web site was able to find us a hotel via their website while drive a few mile up the highway and book a room and pay for it prior to arrival all over our Iphone. So check in and check out was breeze and we got back on the road in the morning after a pretty solid breakfast. Make your own waffles full size and minis. I used the mini waffles to make a waffle egg and sausage sandwich for the morning. I thought that was kind of cool because the eggs were made in little circles along with the sausage paddies thus it worked out great.

« Huge disappointment even for an over nighter »

We have stayed in lots of hotels like this on our way to or from Florida. Our expectations are pretty reasonable, cheap and cheerful. BUT clean. This is where this hotel failed, we were tired after a long day of travel so a good night's sleep was our biggest expectation. But not on bed where the sheets had not been changed, instead they were inside out but still had obvious signs of being slept on. The hotel's reaction was the disappointment. They really weren't fussed. They sent someone up to put sheets on but he arrived with the wrong size. After trying to help him make the bed and discovering more signs it had not been cleaned, we asked to change rooms. The hotel is tough to find and only near one restaurant - none in walking distance. The only upside it that it is remote enough that you don't hear the highway traffic. It just felt old and shabby and it is so easy to do better that I cannot recommend this hotel.

« Great hotel but dont be fooled by other reviews »

This hotel is great, nice and clean. However I kept reading it had a recliner so we went out of our way to stay there. They did not have a recliner at all. The lady at check in though was very nice and went over the top. She walked us to the 3 different types of rooms to see if any had recliners.

    5
    « Excellent value »

Excellent room upkeep, very clean & neat. As continental breakfasts go, one of the better ones with good stock of sausages, biscuits, waffle batter, fruit, and 5 varieties of cereal. Unable to rate pool due to offseason closure.

    5
    « Vacation stay »

Love the breakfast area with the fireplace. Continental breakfast options are better than some other Best Western's. Like that the bathroom was separated. Decor was nice & modern, rooms were spacious.

« Our stay at Best Western »

Our trip from Florida to Wytheville was great and we were looking forward to a great sleep and Best Western provided the best nights sleep for both of us. We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western and try to stay at the Best Western going and coming back to Canada. Great service.

    4
    « quiet and peaceful »

This BW is located in a very convenient location that can be accessed quite easily. We make it our destination when traveling to and from Florida. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with many options. I recommend the make your own waffles.

    3
    « Good night's sleep »

Hotel was OK. Nothing special but convenient. Would have liked a better , lower fat offering at breakfast. Too many carbs and not enough in the way of fresh fruit for our taste. Biscuits and gravy, pre-made eggs and sausage were OK but had fruit cocktail. (More sugar and calories). Nice selection of cold cereals though.

    « never the same »

I have had both good and bad experiences at this motel. But this time it was not a good experience right from the beginning. The reception clerk acted like she would rather be anyplace else. The room was adequate, but I had to slam the door to get it to close. (I am sure people in nearby rooms were not very pleased.) In the room, there was no guidebook showing TV channels, location of ice machines, etc. And the door to the parking lot was exceptionally heavy, lots of fun when your hands are full of luggage.

    5
« Clean, comfortable and the best staff »

We were traveling to Nashville and needed a hotel. I booked it online, but didn't realize it was for the following night. The nice clerk at the desk found us a room and honored our AAA rate. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was tasty. Would definitely stay here again!

    5
« Emergency stop turned into a great stay »

An April blizzard in the mountains caused us to stop here unexpectedly, without a reservation, and still we ended up with a great room at a great price. The beds were unusually comfortable, in fact. It exceeded our expectations in every way.

  • 4
« Convenient, clean and good value »

Convenient location beside the highway, yet the room is quiet and the bed is comfortable. The in-room wi-fi is poor and I need to use the desktop in the lobby. Breakfast is typical american breakfast, no surprises.

    5
« Great value, convenient location »

This is a comfortable, modern facility located close to the highway with great breakfast and good nearby steakhouse. the beds are new, rooms clean with high speed internet. The staff is friendly, well trained and accommodating. What more can you ask for at a very good price?

    4
    « Very pleasant »

Well located and well priced. Quiet but still close to major routes, pleasant view, town center an easy 5 minutes away. Room very nice. Mattresses appeared lumpy but turned out to be very comfortable. As 'snowbirds', we will likely book here again.

    4
    « Nice Value Overnighter »

This hotel was a great value 1 night stop. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean but did smell alittle stale. (could use an air freshener) Close to highway and several restaurants. Breakfast was nice and always being tended to by morning staff. Nothing ever had a chance to get empty. A+ Cons... not enough seating/tables in pool area, not enough seating during breakfast...but then again many ppl just sitting chatting when others wanted to sit and eat. Overall.... nice stay to break up the long drive to the beach. We do plan staying again.

    3
    « On the road »

Stayed one night while traveling. The hotel is in a great location, just off the freeway and a short drive to town. Our stay was pleasant, staff was curteous and helpful. Requested a room in quiet section of hotel and was easily accomodatef. Only recommendation is the rooms and linens could appreciate some updating. Overall- good value for price.

    4
    « Quiet but close to the I 77 »

Stayed here for one night on the way north like many other Snowbirds. Upgraded (for a modest fee) to a ground floor room which gave us easy access to the parking lot. Room was large (2 double beds), clean but a musty odor. TV was fine, internet very spotty and slow, beds were excellent. There was no highway noise but if upstairs guests had heavy feet it could be disturbing. Breakfast had a great variety including hot selections.

    2
« Room smelled very musty »

We stayed in this hotel on our way to North Carolina for one night. When we walked into the room, the smell of musty dampness was overwhelming. After running the ventilation for awhile, it became bearable but not great. We traveled with a small dog which was not a problem, but we were put on the ground floor because of the dog. The room was clean, but we would not stay here again.

    4
    « Pet friendly »

Very clean rooms and nice staff. Comfortable bedding, very pet friendly with small fenced area. Breakfast a little disappointing, many items depleted by 8:15 and not replenished in timely manner (breakfast from 6-9)

    5
« The only place to spend the nigght when travelling along this corridor!!! »

The Hungry Detective always stays in Wytheville when travelling South and I always stay at the Best Western inn Wytheville. I arrive at the property late Thursday night during the Easter holiday and the hotel was at capacity. I made a special request for a quiet room and the staff did an awesome job with my request. Great room provided at the last minute. Incredible breakfast and super clean rooms. VERDICT: This is the only place to stay in Wytheville!!!

    4
« Pet friendly and people friendly too »

Chose this hotel for its location and for pet-friendliness, and we were very happy with our choice. The front desk people were extremely friendly. Room was no frills, but was clean and quiet, and beds were comfortable. Got in a little late, but the local Pizza Hut delivered to our room, so the kids were happy. Breakfast in the morning was good with all the usual hotel offerings. There were a lot of travelers eating, so the seating was tight, but overall no problems. We will stay here again on our next trip through VA.

  • 5
    « Great Place »

This is a great example of a Best Western. Excellent location, southern friendly and efficient staff with very competitive rates. The breakfast was what we have come to expect from Best Western, good standard fare.

« Worst Hotel Visit! Don't stay here! »

We booked this hotel through Travelocity as a one night stop on a March Break trip. We arrived well after midnight, or would not have stayed! The first room given to us had not been cleaned from previous guests. Disgusting! New room was not much better. Terrible beds, lumpy pillows, dirty carpets, cracked tile, hole in the bathroom door and cracked windows. Night reception was very rude. Day clerk very apologetic. Says hotel has not been maintained since new management. Don't stay here.

    4
    « signa »

We were very happy staying at this hotel my kids loved it. We stop over while going to Myrtle Beach. It was located away from highway so it was quite. The beds were very comfortable. An excellent experience in a chain that I almost always use. Great value for the money and lacked not a single thing I could have asked for.

    5
« Good value, I would recommend as good budgeting. »

Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room. It was located away from highway so it was quite. It was an very good value for the price. Second Best Western I tried on this trip and in both cases the breakfast in both cases better than my usual breakfast at Hampton.

    « Not Impressed »

On our way heading north from Florida we stopped here for our overnight stay, using a coupon from the hotel coupon books. The total price we paid was 70.74 for 2 beds. The room number was 127 on the main floor. I'm sorry to say the room was a dump! Very dark and drab with one floor lamp and two desk lamps. Also the room was poorly cleaned and there were crumbs on the floor and hair in the bathroom. The tub was dirty, the grout filthy, and carpets needed a good vacuuming especially where the wall and floor meet. The inside of the door has been scratched by all the dogs over the year and there is an opening between the door and the jamb. The carpet in this area has also been scratched away from pets. There was also a bit of a pet throw up stain against a wall. The only positive I could find was that there were 3 new lamp shades that were clean and white. The beds were comfortable but the sheets were worn out. I went on to read other reviews on Tripadvisor and see that there is a review on this very same room (127) dated Jan.26 with the same complaints. Management responded then to say they will take care of it, well 2 months later, and nothing has changed. Don't bother giving me lip service - just clean the room and get a new door!

    2
    « Do not Stay »

Staff unhelpful, no sales ability, no authority, and no help. Although clean, the building was built as cheaply as possible, I expect it to wear out quickly and cause more problems with guests. I would advise that if you have to stay here do not expect much from the staff or the chain. Other chains text you confirmation information they only email which may prove inadeqaute.

    4
« Good Pet Friendly Stop »

Very nice pet friendly accommodations, with plenty of grassy areas outside to walk a dog. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast was better than most. I would highly recommend.

    5
    « Stay here! »

We found this hotel late at night, and we didn't have reservations. The price was really good, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was piping hot and really good. We could not have found a better place to stay.

    5
    « Very Nice Hotel »

Would recommend this to anyone traveling and needing to stay a night in between driving to another destination. The place is very well kept and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was also very nice and great coffee.

    5
    « Trip Home »

Dog friendly hotel. Clean and attentive staff. Good location. Plenty of places to eat in town. WiFi worked very well. Breakfast good. We'll stay here again next trip South. They have a self laundry facility too.

    « Convenient location - friendly staff »

For an overnight stay close to I77, this hotel provided a convenient and pleasurable accommodation while we were en route to Florida. Continental breakfast was provided & filled the bill. We will definitely stay here again - probably on our way home.

    5
    « Everthing I would expect »

An excellent experience in a chain that I almost always use. Great value for the money and lacked not a single thing I could have asked for. I do wish they had scrambled eggs on the breakfast menu instead of those odd looking, sort-of poached egg "patties".... but there was a WIDE variety of breakfast items - more than I am used to seeing - more than I could possibly eat....

    4
    « good location »

I stay at this hotel about every 8 weeks, I have seen improvements to the site and like the location. Easy access to I-77 and I-81, and a good value. the fireplace is great as you walk in the lobby. and the desk personal are great.

    4
« On way to and from Florida »

This was the top rated hotel we stayed at out of the ones we used for our vacation. Clean - quiet- economical. Put in the line up for every trip. Set back from freeway and easy get back on 77. Very helpful desk clerk- delishious coffee and good breakfast.

    5
    « Travel to Bella Terra Mini+SUV+Trailer »

Very clean and up-to-date. Curb appeal, beautiful mountain view. Pleasant and courteous staff. Easy WiFi access, favs on cable (TCM, HBO, music video channels). Fast and efficient check-in/out. Excellent en route stopover. Booked through Booking Buddy with great rate!

    3
    « A value stop »

it's half way from Ontario to Florida. The motel is in good condition, clean and with good access to Interstates. Wytheville is a tricky location at the intersection of I81 and I77. It's a value stop with reasonable gas, lots of motels and all levels of restaurants. This property is reasonable but has a poor included breakfast. Real toss up on this one between 2 and 3 rating. Just improve the breakfast and it's 3 to 3.5 easily. Pool is outdoors and not heated. So it is seasonal at best.

    5
« nicest place we have stayed »

very clean, comfortable, suprisingly romantic and cozy.loved it there was a fire place in the middle of the area where everyone can just sit and enjoy use the internet, and just out the doors was a pool im sure it was nice .we could see it,it was february and snowy, but im sure it was as nice as everything else,oh and the breakfeast was awsome i never been to a place where you can make yourself waffles, there was eggs, saushage gravy, biscuets, saushage, bagles, cereal, freah fruit, one of the best i have stayed at

« Best Nights Sleep Ever »

The front desk lady went out of her way too do things for us. They had a popcorn machine for the customers and she made a fresh batch just for us. The eating area was a rustic setting and well laid out. The breakfast was a good spread, not real fancy. But still a good variety of breakfast items. The other Best thing was the mattress, it was firm, but not hard like a board. The room was nice size and nicely laid out also.

    5
« Great stop along the way »

Just looking for a value stop on the way this is the place , just off the highway . Staff is friendly hotel is very clean and well laid out . Easy parking The rooms are modern and clean Great spot for the price Stay here

    « Good price »

The best western was reasonably clean, but run-down. (Our toilet paper roll holder was taped to its place with masking tape.). But it met our needs- relatively clean and comfortable for a relatively low price. The clerk at check-out on Sunday morning, January 31 was very helpful.

  • 4
    « Perfect Location »

This hotel is in a good location for a midway stop to the east coast. The breakfast is above average and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel. The rooms are good and the beds are pillowtop mattresses.

    1
« The front desk staff quit this place is so bad! »

OK so after driving 650 miles I pull into this hotel. It's a BW so I am not having extremely high expectations, expecially when I check in the front desk area smells like an ashtray. After the front desk staff checks me in and assures me it is a smokefree establishment I get to my room (127) and the door looks like it has been chewed or scratched to death, there are pieces of carpet missing and a 1/2" gap between the door and the jamb. Now I realize I am in a pet friendly room (and I have my cat) but seriously this is unacceptable. Wait it gets better, I turn on the tv and when I go to turn it towards the table the HDMI cord literally falls apart. So now I have a crappy room and no TV. So I go up to the front desk to see if I can get a different HDMI cord, when surprisingly no one is at the desk....now I see here in the lobby so I ask if she has an extra cord and she informs me she has QUIT! So no one can be checked in or have any issues resolved. How utterly unbelievable!! So here I sit in my room, getting a headache from whatever strange stuff is blowing out of the wall unit, with no TV and seriously considering just driving the 3 more hours down the road so I can get away from this nightmare. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE!!!

    « A welcome port in a storm!r »

We had left Canada for Florida at 6 :30 am that morning, and drove all day into a persistent snowfall in West Virginia. We decided to stop around 5:00 pm in Wytheville and chose the Best Western for our night's stay. We used the coupon from the hotel discount book and were very pleased with the value we received. Our check-in was quick and courteous, our room was standard and clean, and the breakfast had ample choice and supply. Overall, a warm and comforting refuge on a snowy evening.

    5
    « Staff very accomadating »

We had stayed at this hotel last month and was very satisfied. The same desk clerk was at the front desk. In I descoverwd he heater in our room had difficulty warming our room she was very prompt and cordial and kindly switched our room to one only 2 doors away. The new room was excellent.

    5
    « Pleasant staff »

Staff was very pleasant and answered all questions, because I had never been to the area before. The room was clean and comfortable. The reception area smelled delicious because they had fresh (free) popcorn cooking! Very inviting and overall excellent experience.

    3
    « It was ok »

The Best Western in Wytheville was ok for an overnight stay. I would not recommend it for more. However, it was a delight to go into Wytheville and see what it had to offer. I recommend going to the Log House Restaurant. It reminded me somewhat of Colonial Williamsburg.

    2
    « Not the cleanest.. »

Sheets were dirty and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a stain. I found a hair in the bed, and there was mold in the shower. Floors needed to be vacuumed arpund the edges of the room there was visible dirt. Window was really dirty. Otherwise was ok but will not stay here again.

    4
    « A little Hair »

This was our second trip to this hotel. We stayed exactly a year earlier. The place was still very nice and will likely seek out another stay next year. We found hair in the sink and tub, and I am not convinced the sheets were fresh. Overall the product was good and the price was right.

    3
« Good enough for a one night stop during travel further south »

Heading south to Florida, needed a place to stay for one night. This fit the bill, no complaints. Free breakfast (though to be honest, just had a bowl of oatmeal so as to be on our way quickly - so do not remember what else was offered).

    4
    « florida trip »

South Carolina needs to add additional lanes on I95. The traffic was very very slow driving south thru the State. Best Western in Wyethville VA was a good choice and very well priced compared to other hotels in the area.

  • 3
« Good location but noisy »

This hotel would be an excellent place to stay as a one-night stopover for people like us travelling down to Florida from Canada if noise insulation was improved. We were longing for a good night sleep after a 10-hour drive and didn't get it because of noisy guests walking up and down the hall until late at night and again in the early morning. Even earplugs didn't help. The hotel is ideally situated, in a quiet setting and yet close to highways and mid-way between Canada and Florida. Rooms are big and clean. However, noise insulation is really a problem. This was our second stay here but we might consider another option because of this on our next trip down South.

    3

« Best Western Wytheville, Virginia »

Very professional staff, from making reservation to checking out. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and of sufficient size. The internet works great. The location.is ideal for anyone traveling along I-81 or I-77.

    3
« OK for One Night »

We stay at Best Western often and have spent the night here before. The room was in need of several updates such as bathroom tile and carpet edges. The bed was OK and we had our own pillows. We were unable to control the temperature to our satisfaction - could not make it cold enough despite turning the thermostat way down. We did not stay for breakfast this time.

    5
    « Darn near perfect! »

Although this was a reward stay, their normal prices are very reasonable! Can't say enough about the quiet here. Kinda off the beaten path, but adds to the quiet. Decent breakfast, powerful and hot shower, kinda unique lobby design. Great place and would recommend to anyone!

    2
    « Disappointed »

After reading the reviews on this website, I was disappointed with my overnight stay in December of 2015. As a female traveling solo I would not stay here again even for the good price. I had room #218. Here are my pros and cons: Pros -Good TV and remote; -Friendly service; -Beds were comfortable; -Decent Fitness Room with extra machine to work out all muscles. Cons -Room looked a bit run down; -Bathroom not as clean as it should be. Hair and dirt found in shower upon arrival, the toilet paper dispenser was falling out of the vanity; floor looked dirty. -The sheets did not look or smell fresh; -The alarm clock was filthy and lamps looked like they had not been dusted in some time; -The door was difficult to lock; -No lock on side entrance so anyone could come in.

    « Hidden Gem »

Still the best place to stay in Wytheville after several visits. Clean, comfortable, quite. Thanks again for a good nights rest. Hard to find a quality place you can trust anymore when traveling. I know what to expect when I arrive.

    5
« Well worth the drive. »

Very nice size room. Clean quiet and an overall good value. I will definitely stay there again. Breakfast was great. Staff was new but very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but worth the extra drive.

    4
« Nice place to stay overnight »

The staff is excellent. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size. The bed is a bit firm but everybody has a different preference. Rooms are clean and the free breakfast is good. There is no elevator to the second floor so if you have difficulty walking up stairs call the front desk before you arrive. Wytheville is s small town but I think this place is the best value for the money.

    5
« Good place for overnight stay. »

Front desk was very nice.....room was clean and accommodating for 1 night stay. No elevators so that could be a problem if on second floor. Continental breakfast served....enough to get you going in the morning.

    « Relaxing destination »

This is the perfect destination for the weary traveller on the way south. It is quiet, clean, friendly, affordable...perfect location right off the interstate. Great for a good night sleep before heading back out on the road. The breakfast is perfect and the eating area very bright with lots of tables. We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed.

    4
« Good Deal for the price »

This motel was somewhat cheaper, although not budget. Still, it offered good value for money. A very pleasant staff, a fair breakfast and fridge and microwave, etc. were good features. Of course, it is not a brand-new place, but then at the price that is expect-able.

    3
« Good for the Night »

Clean, friendly staff. Hot breakfast is not the best. Wifi is not the best. If you like sausage gravy & biscuits - yum. If you want good eggs and sausage patties, not so yum. Great selection of cereal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, drinks, etc. Have stayed 3 times and not been able to use the internet with any reliability. Always grab a coupon at the welcome centre, best value that way.

    3
    « Overnight stay on 11-29-15 »

Had stayed on first floor of this hotel previously, but only rooms available this time on second floor and reservation was non refundable. There is no elevator and had there not been a man to carry my luggage up the steps, I could not have gotten it to my room. I made lots of noise getting it down the stairs the next morning. If you are young and strong, heavy luggage would not be a problem, but that was not my case.

« Best Western Would not rent me a room »

I called the Best Western in Wytheville Va. I explained that I am have rental property in their area. I am doing work on a unit and needed a room for 7 nights for my renter who is a physician in their area. I was told that they do not rent to local people. No Exceptions!! What!!! I was looking to rent a legitimate room for one week not by the hour. If the hotel is anything like their service I am so glad they didn't rent me a room.

    1
    « Bathroom floor »

There was feces smeared on the bathroom floor and there was cigarette ashes in the bathroom. The toilet was not bolted to the floor tight enough and rocked when you sat on it. Staff was very apolagetic and had it cleaned up right away. The last time we stayed there the bed was made up but the sheets had not been changed. Again the staff was very apolagetic and gave us another room. Never again will we stay there.

    5
« Very nice, Would book again »

My boyfriend and I were passing through on a road trip and needed a place for the night. Room and property were clean, staff was friendly and price was right. Close to town to grab a bite to eat. Would definitely stay there again. Only complaint was a barking dog in the hallway at 7am that barked for about 10 minutes- but having a cat I've travelled with at times, I appreciate a pet-friendly place.

    4
    « Scenic drive overnight »

Very nice, very clean, very comfortable. Breakfast is no better or worse than most other hotels these days. Cereal, waffle machine, juice, coffee, etc. Sits at junction of I-81 and I-77. Very scenic area. Great for fall foliage. Away from highway - quiet.

    4
« Decent place to stay »

Room was nice and clean. Shower was great. Bed was comfortable and warm. TV and internet sufficient. Will keep this in my log book for future stays in the area. Overall quality was very good for the price.

    2
« Missing locks safety issue »

Our stay was not so great. The staff were very nice. Our room was on the second floor & there was no elevator. The outside doors did not have locks so they allowed anyone to come into the hotel. This is what gives a poor rating. The room otherwise was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.

« The Price is right »

I stayed here on our way home to SC from Pittsburgh. We booked a Priceline no-bid queen room at a rate under $50. We really didn't expect much for the price but were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and the breakfast good. I only gave this hotel 4 stars because we were on the second floor and there was no elevator. My only complaint was with Priceline who sold us a King room and put it into the hotel as a double room. The desk clerk was nice enough to switch it for us.

    « Nice rooms »

Rooms were clean recently renovated. Free breakfast was pretty good; waffles eggs novitiate and gravy, juice coffee. The rest of the hotel was dated but it was a good value. Staff was friendly and helpful. Kind of hidden behind other hotels. Would definitely stay there again. Could have used more than one person at the desk. Had to wait a bit to check in.

We always stay here when visiting family for thanksgiving. Whether going to Pennsylvania or Georgia. Always a great place to stay. Miranda Compton prepared breakfast this morning and was so polite and helpful.

My wife made a mistake when booking this hotel. I have stayed at a Best Western on I77 but not this one. This hotel was much better than the other Hotel. Everything was excellent, including the price. We will definitely stay here again

« Very comfortable quiet stay »

Rooms are large, well appointed and look like they have been recently renovated. Beds very comfortable. Wifi in rooms adequate. Breakfast adequate and breakfast area very nice. Price reasonable. Rooms quiet. Towels in bathroom not soft and fairly harsh - could use softener. Also shower fixtures loose. Bed frame protruded out about 5 inches and I tripped over it. Overall I would rate hotel 4+

    « Pet Friendly but ... »

The hotel was pet-friendly and the service staff very accommodating. We found the rooms to be clean. Actually a bit too clean the pet-friendly room we were in smelled like acetone but the staff was willing to move us even though they were having trouble finding rooms for everyone.

    « Service staff outstanding »

Service speaks volumes and this motel delivers every time. Had downloaded new app and was booking on it as a first time user. Missed some critical info and immediately called motel directly. Was referred to customer service and with assistance from April at this location able to rectify. We ended up to stay here..originally not sure if we would make it due to rain and high winds when leaving and almost a 550 mile journey. When we did get there a Sabrina waited on us. So calming and accommodating. Able to book us on lower level. .we are seniors and no elevator. Breakfast in morning was lovely as always. Everything clean in rooms and eating area.if this hotel works coming or going to destination we stop here. Quiet area.

Will stay again. Personnel very friendly. All the amenities that we needed were there. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast station had a large variety to choose from. The only issued I had was the weak coffee. Maybe you can include one carafe of a dark roast coffee. Great value.

« Pet friendly and secure location!!! »

Great place to stop if your heading south. My wife and I were on our way to Charleston, SC and the Best Western in Wytheville was the perfect fit. Pet friendly, clean and great breakfast!!! Lots of parking if you have a trailer with w great location off the interstate. Peaceful and good nights rest in an awesome king size bed with fresh sheets and pillows!!!

« BW Stay after College Reunion »

We stayed at BW because we have had great experience with BW in Mt Pleasant SC, that is where we were traveling from. The rear entrance door was not key card secure, there was an offensive odor in the room,(almost like insectiside) the next door and upstairs noise was disturbing. There appeared to be mold along the joints of the bath/shower surround. We did not report these things because we needed a handicap bath and nothing else was available. We checked this at check in. In comparison to the Mt Pleasant SC BW which is a high tourist area the price here was almost the same and we got a whole lot less for our $

« For the value, A-1...AND welcomed my pet »

Room clean, quiet, good shower, comfortable bed. Wonderful HOT breakfast, coffee, juice. My pet was welcomed, treated well, got a milk bone at check in!! Good price for this clean, quiet, comfortable room. Stayed on our way to our destination, and such a positive experience, we stayed there on our way home from our destination. Excellent staff.

    « Wytheville Best Western »

Excellent value and great, helpful staff. Breakfast was ok as is true with most similar situations. Free upgrade was offered which I took. A great, economical and convenient halfway point on our trip from Florida to NY.

    « Over priced »

Room was okay, nothing fancy and bathroom could have been a little cleaner. Everything worked in room but the heater. Provided us with a good space heater as it would have been a pain to move at 12:30 am. 54 and raining that night. That worked fine for us. Breakfast should have been a little better. AAA rate 79.99/night I expect a little better at a Best Western for this rate.

    « Just Okay »

stopped on this best western motel on the way to florida. The rooms are interior corridor but hotel still looks more like a budget motel. The hotel was overall clean but is still a big difference from the best western plus and premiers i have stayed at before. It was sufficent as we had just used this hotel to sleep before we hit the road down south.

« Stay type: travel way point »

Room and building were well maintained and clean. Room was quiet and comfortable. Staff was courteous. And continental breakfast included assortment of breads, cereal, waffles, sausage and eggs. Stay was in line with my experience at other best westerns.

« Very good for a hotel in this price range ($58 aaa) »

Easy to reach from highway. Desk staff very friendly and helpful, lobby area much nicer than most, with a pleasant raised area for breakfast tables, room decor at least as nice and as modern as some hotels in a much higher price range, clean room and bathroom. We asked for a non-pet room, and had to take a room on the 2nd floor. No elevator. this was a nonsmoking room and there was a fairly large (about the size of a quarter) burned area in the carpet next to the bed and another one in the hallway carpe. I've seen alot worse though in more expensive hotels. Breakfast -- best coffee! Waffle machine. Desk staff working hard to keep food area tidy and tables clean, and to check in on how guests were enjoying the breakfast. There were also round fried egg patties of some sort, sausage and gravy, but I didn't try them. Orange juice was real, not watered down, or Orange "drink". Usual selection of cereals. No fresh fruit, but some canned fruit cocktail. Not a PERFECT place, but very surprisingly good for the price. Would definitely stay there again.

« okay for overnight stay »

Large room , adjacent to highway.Looks like they are in process of renovating. Room was"surface" clean"--needs a deep cleaning. Would have appreciated an updated bath with higher rise toilets and handrails. Tub was badly scarred--did not use. Bed/pillows and linens worn beyond use---uncomfortable. On the positive side---staff friendly, location very quiet, and breakfast was great--with very nice eating area. Don't look for a good place to eat dinner--there are none! Steak house was awful!

Great location. Restaurant was excellent and located within complex of hotels. Breakfast was excellent with large selection. Room was clean and Internet worked very well. Cozy breakfast area and well kept up.

« Cancelled Reservation After Seeing The Room »

We arrived at this hotel and the staff was outside having a smoke break. I don't begrudge somebody a break but the work should come first. We had reserved a room for a Saturday night. (At $91) When we looked at the room it was on the second floor and the toilet was running. We jiggled the handle but could not get it to stop. There was a lot of noise in the room across the hall so we asked to be moved. They did not have a room to move us to. The employee was still working on cleaning a room. ( pm and your room is not clean? Do you have hourly rates? Needless to say we did not stick around for the room to be cleaned. We headed down the road. Not a clean hotel. Don't bother with this one!

« Affordable place to stay »

We called for a room while on the road, and the only room available at the rate advertised had two double beds (not queens), but that was no problem. The shower drain was very slow. There is a lot available for the free breakfast; unfortunately the only part of my breakfast that was hot was the waffle I made. This place is close to Sagebrush Steakhouse.

« good value for the money »

I was traveling alone with my dog. They are a pet accommodating hotel. It was extra 10 dollars for the pet. It was a clean comfortable room with a working TV. But the hair dryer did not work. I did not care enough about it to call anyone.

    « Convenient to I - 81 »

Great Location, easy to locate off of I-81. Travel cross country twice a year, and this Hotel best suits my needs. Parking Lot was very convenient to Room. Made for easy unloading of Car. We originally selected this hotel because it was/is pet friendly. Staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast including and was ok and satisfying.

    4
« Always a pleasant stay when on the road »

This Best Western is a comfortable, clean and inexpensive place to stay when traveling I-81. We frequently drive from Baltimore to Nashville and Wytheville is almost dead center between the two making it a very convenient place to stop.

    4
    « Good location, amenities »

Close to I-77 and 81, but far enough away to not be affected by the noise. Clean, comfortable room, although the bed was rather high. Better than average breakfast. 24-hour coffee, good free Wi-Fi and dog friendly.

« Nice BW in Mountain Atmosphere, But Beware Pet Friendly »

Needed a one-night stop after driving 9 hours. Wanted a nice quiet, restful hotel but that is not what we got. Did not realize it was "pet friendly" until the dog next door started yapping and didn't stop until I called the desk. Adding insult to injury the room they gave us was an adjoining room and the people next door must have put their pet cage right in front of the door ... making that barking sound all the closer. The noise did stop at 11:00 however after a 9 hour drive, we were ready to call it a night long before then. Other than that, it was a nice BW. A little older that has been updated to some degree. Lots of mold around the tub but the amenities were fine. Free internet and a great breakfast before heading out the next morning. Next time I'll make sure we stay in a non-pet friendly hotel.

    « Mountain Ride 2015 »

There was a musty odor in the hallways but not in the room we occupied. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Décor was average. Amenities were fine. Check in staff (Scarlett) was super. On check out we had to wait several minutes after ringing the counter bell for the clerk to arrive - he appeared from a side room drowsy and sluggish???? The breakfast really needs to be reworked - the exact same offerings both mornings. Hot Items - Sausage patties, biscuits, sausage gravy and "scrambled egg rounds" - ugh. There were several choices of hot & cold cereals as well as the usual assortment of baked goods, yogurt and fresh fruit. Yes, I know this sounds like a lot of choices but the hot items were really lacking. We were there for a good place to shower and sleep after riding all day - and that we did get. The price did fit our budget.

« Good for overnight stop »

Long drive....need a place to crash? This will do fine. Pet friendly (bonus points!) and large room, free wifi and breakfast makes this a good pit stop when you're tired from driving. The staff is friendly and the breakfast offered the usual choices with the addition of biscuits and gravy! Welcome to the South! Only complaint I have is that when we arrived at our room, the bathroom wastebasket hadn't been emptied from the previous occupant and was pretty full. Not a big deal to me but just a heads up for the hotel staff to be a bit more diligent to avoid complaints from others. Nice little hotel.

Stayed one night in king-bed room. Room was clean, everything worked, shower was good and bed comfortable. Room was quiet and slept well. Breakfast was fine but particularly liked the light , airy breakfast area. Would stay again.

« On our way south »

This was about half way for our trip south and the Best Western was a nice place to stay. It way clean and comfortable. It's tucked into the mountains and the views of the changing foliage were fantastic. We will stay here again on other trips south.

« Off the beaten path - Nice and Quiet! »

This is your basic dependable Best Western. Nice staff and comfortable rooms. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about. Because it is a bit off the interstate, it was really quite at night as well.

    3
    « Decent Hotel »

The room was comfortable and the breakfast adequate. They did have a hot bar with eggs, sausage and biscuits. The coffee cups did not match the lids so you couldn't take your coffee with you. This motel is good for just getting a good night of sleep and getting on your way. I wouldn't recommend it for those looking for ambiance.

    4
    « Off the path »

traveling North on 81 you must get off 81 and circle around and cross three lands to make a right turn. we were late in the day and had no traffic so getting over no problem. Rooms were clean and beds were good. breakfast was good but the lids for the coffee were the wrong size so "to take" was a little tricky. I talk to the from desk to see if they had the right size and was told the they keep giving them the wrong size

« Good Hotel at waypoint »

Stayed here on my way to another city. Very good for my purpose. Close to major highways and was able to get there and out without incident. Near restaurants and such. Would stay again on my way. Travel by car a lot and the hotel is in a very good location to connect to many places I go.

« Stay here in Wytheville »

This Best Western is a great hotel. There is beautiful scenery, (we had a mountain-view room) an attentive and courteous staff; yummy free breakfast and comfortable rooms. Meticulously maintained. We thought it was new! Good location for nearby restaurants and places to visit.

    « Nice overnight experience »

Great motel at a fairly reasonable price. The frond desk clerk went out of her way to be helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was pleasant and well stocked. The location could have been better a bit set back and difficult to find the entrance road. The accept pets for a $10. fee regardless of the breed. All in all a very pleasant place with clean room and a helpful staff.

    « Great value »

Nice location - easy access from interstate. Clean rooms, good shower, but small issues with toilet. Extremely comfy bed made for excellent sleep. Good breakfast, well presented. Excellent staff. Rooms can be accessed from outside without any security lock, only drawback. But great value!!

    « Better than i expected »

I'm on a bus tour, so i had no control over lodging. I've never had even a remotely good experience in a Best Western before, so i was kinda traumatized when i saw that we were staying in one. Based on my expectations, it was fine. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom felt solid and private. The beds were comfy. The continental breakfast was adequate, but nothing beyond that. Overall, for a night on the road, it wasn't badbad, but i wouldn't stay there if i was staying in the area for longer.

    3
    « Just Ok »

This is one you may want to pass on. For the price the room was so so and the staff the same. The breakfast was nice but overall the vibe was old. Outside hallways poorly lit and no security on the outer doors. Unnecessary no smoking signs everywhere. The workout room had 4 machines.

We were traveling from Tampa FL to Rome NY and this hotel met the needs of us traveling from Ashville NC enroute to Hershey PA. I called from the road and was received very well. Evening clerk was knowledgeable of the product she was selling and was eager to assist if there were any other questions.
