Best Western Hotel of Wise, Wise

I stayed here last night and was pleased with the experience. Arrival was a a nightmare that was not their fault as a street fair was going on and I had trouble finding how to get in. The front desk ladies were very good and friendly. I even got a history lesson about the Inn and its past. It is a nice place. The room is dated but that adds to the charm of the past. The shower was small but worked fine. The bed was up to today's standards. There were a TV, microwave, and frig in my room. I was told that the restaurants were not open due to a labor shortage and that is a shame as I bet they are great. Breakfast was meager, but OK. I managed to get instant grits to taste great. This is all due to you-know-what. I found this town to be quite charming and the hotel is the centerpiece of this. I enjoyed the stay a lot.

Check-In was a little rough, check-out also, just not the BW norm. Pool, was closed, yet, we don't use the pools. Still, it looked like a storage area. No breakfast, still in HEAVY Covid mode. I personally saw this as a way to take short cuts. They did provide breakfast bags, would question putting an apple in the bag if your in Covid mode? No way to wash the apple on the run. Room was quiet over-all, yet, few cars in parking lot. We stayed in room #315. Bed and pillows over-all comfortable. Shower made a whistling noise when on that was very annoying. Tub- shower handle as well made noise. Towels were few and small:( Nice TV picture:) Older hotel that needs some detail......Employees were very kind:)

i booked 2 non-smoking rooms at the same time and received 2 smoking rooms that were not close together. my clothes all smelled of cigarette smoke even though clothes were left in suitcase. complained and told nothing could be done about smell or location.

This hotel is old and not well maintained. The carpet in my room was so stained and filthy that I never took my shoes off. The bathroom may have been clean, but it was too used to really tell. The sheets were so thin you could see through them. The rest of the hotel seemed to be in the same shape. This place was simply gross. By the time I checked in, I didn't feel up to finding another hotel. Do not stay here.

Only had a smoking room even though reservation for a non-smoking room was completed 1 month before and check-in was done online that afternoon. Dirty washrag hanging in shower, room smelled terrible, no tissues, generally unclean. Left after 1 night. Will not stay there again or recommend to others

Was in Norton on business. I have stayed here before with no issues. Major noise complaint from room above. Called front desk around 1am. Again at 1:32 and finally went to front desk and demanded for the desk clerk to go with me to the room above mine. Knocked on the door. Lady came to the door and I old here I was dealing with excessive pounding noise for over an hour. She said they dropped a 2 liter bottle on the floor. There was a MAJOR pot smoke smell in the hallway. I addressed this with the desk clerk only to be told, "well this is the 2nd floor". I went a step further which I have asked the GM to call me. Guess they did not know why I was in Norton or who I work for. My report will be made known. End of story.

Parking is adequate , the lobby and rooms were clean. our room had a mini refrigerator .Staff was friendly and helpful, the location was great for activities and restaurants that are in the area - Free wi-fi worked well .

Good location, friendly staff. Clean & comfortable rooms. However, not all rooms have a mini fridge and/or microwave. Only hotel I've stayed at that had one or sometimes both missing from the room. Some rooms actually have both, but ive rarely stayed in one & we stay there regularly.

Not bad but starting to show some wear and tear. Staff was helpful and friendly. View towards the mountains was nice from the third floor room. (just don't look down at the McDonalds) Nice restuarant adjacent.

Hotel is in a great location, staff is excellent. I was disappointed the pool was closed. One of the few hotels in the area with one and factored into me deciding to stay. Hotel needs renovations of flooring mostly.

There was trash in front of our room door when checking in. A staff member shouted an apology from across the corridor. Well, two hours later, the trash was still in front of our door. We booked a pet-FREE room. There were several strands of long white hair on the chair, most likely from a pet. The room needs to be cleaned in a better way. The mattress felt really old and worn out. The bill did not match the booking confirmation. There was an additional "marketing fee" of some two dollars on the invoice. I have now reached out to the hotel twice (!) via email, but have not received a response. Even if it's just for two dollars, I find that unacceptable. I recognize that the breakfast was changed due to COVID-19. However, a grab bag with a bottle of water, a muffin, and an apple is hardly a substitute for a full breakfast. Maybe worth 80 cents. Come on, Best Western, you can do better! Lastly, I restaurant recommendation for anyone staying in that area (though, hopefully not in that hotel!). The EL DORADO GRILL in downtown Wise is a great little Mexican restaurant. Amazing food and friendly service at a very reasonable price.

This stay was probably one if my better ones last time noone had informed me of the covid precautions the staff was taking so left a bad review due to not being informed the last 2 stays we had prior to this one

A broken hair dryer, malfunctioning heater, holes in the wall where a towel rack should have been, a non-functioning lamp, and poor quality breakfast made this stay less than ideal.The staff was very nice and I don't blame them, but someone needs to better manage this property as basic room cleanliness and amenities were sorely lacking.

I understand that things happen and rooms can be worse for wear. How it is handled at checkout is where I expect it to be rectified. A luke warm shower and a musty room and was given a $9 discount. This was simply insulting

These were the words spoken by the person at the desk when he handed us the brown baggie breakfast. Water, an apple and a child's breakfast bar was inside the bag. I typically choose places to stay based on breakfast being provided. I don't consider this a sustainable breakfast. Our room had food from the previous occupant under a chair, and toilet paper was in short supply. Overall, this experience has put me off of Best Western for a while.

I don't know how this is a 3 star hotel. When I think 3 star, I think digital microwaves. Yeah, no, dial microwave. Plugged into a lamp. Plugged into the wall. Barely worked, hazard. Staff was lovely though, very nice to talk to...well, the evening staff. Lady in the morning was...meh. It was clean enough but the shower was weak and cold within a couple minutes. The products they offered, argan oil based, were very nice though. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, very hard, and the pillows were mush.

Staff and hotel was wonderful. Will definitely stay here everytime we travel to wise va. The staff was friendly Hotel was clean. They were very pet friendly. Rooms were comfortable and bed was clean and comfortable

We usually prefer to stay at Holiday Inns and this is a good explanation of why. Carpet was worn and stained. Pool and exercise room were closed. Staff blamed the Governor. Bag breakfast was handed to me grudgingly and included a cinnamon toast crunch granola bar, water, and a small apple. There was no coffee in the lobby at all. I have stayed at two Holiday Inns in VA in the last month and their response to covid restrictions was much better. This place seemed to use Covid as an excuse to cut back on everything. The door handle of our room was broken and would only open if you pulled up not down. One light solid not work. The morning staff was downright surly.

Very expensive! It smelled bad! Bed was not comfortable at all. When I woke up I had horrible shoulder pain which lasted the whole day! The heater was on which made the room smell even worse. Would never stay again!

Okay hotel. There is a sign that said there would be grab and go breakfast available. One of the power outlets did not work. There is no breakfast and coffee in the lobby. Next time I will probably not stay at this hotel again.

Rooms and outside was very nice now night shift front desk he was a older man grey and bald on top he was terrible cussed at me and a couple of my workers worse person I've ever had to deal with and I'm in a motel more than I'm home im a boss where I work so I put 15 To 20 rooms at a time and he ruined it we will never stay there along as he is there you guys would have had 5 star rating if wasn't for him

Clean, nice property, and friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again. Perfect for what we needed in this instance. Booked during storm for a lot of work crews and they took great care of the guy

Due to the covid-19 virus, the pool was closed and there was no breakfast of any kind provided, so therefore, i should not have been charged full price for my room! I was not even offered any kind of discount! And should have been.

The rooms was in great shape and everything was convenient! Guest service was professional and nice. Everything made a enjoyable place to stay, and the beds was very comfortable! I do hope others enjoy this experience with them!

Great and helpful staff! Speedy check in! Pool was down for repair but that was only issue at all. The front desk to cleaning staff was wonderful. Highly recommend if you are Staying in Wise, Virgina area!

Lady checking us out in the am was exceptional and even introduced us to the rate offered to family members of the university football team in that area, and also informed us of a rewards for staying in Best Western Hotels and set us up and account. The room didn't have a refrigerator and when I asked they said there were lots of rooms without and the same with no microwave. The bed was broken and we were told no other rooms were available and I saw empty rooms. Also ice maker on my floor was not working. Very disappointed with my stay and I stay there every time I visit . Have never had a problem until this visit. The staff didn't try to correct any of the problems.

This Best Western could use a good cleaning - inside and out. Check-in was not good. They had us booked in a double/smoking and a king non-smoking. We had requested the later. Receptionist could not get anyone to verify that our room was ready. We waited over 20 minutes just standing there watching her trying to get someone to answer her walkie-talkie. She finally had to go outside and get someone to come in and check our room. Our bathtub was very dirty. The towel rack was broken and hanging from the wall. The room did not smell fresh at all. Just not worth what we had to pay!

very nice BW, room was every thing i needed and more. tv worked great with local channels and a guide. nice steak house next door. i arived earler than i had expected but check in was no problem although my room was not yet done (just needed new towels). i went next door for a beer and came back to clean up and rest a bit before dinner. was easy to get to.

I was tired when I arrived and I was greeted with a smile and immediate attention to my business. In addition, the General Manager, Lynn, popped out to welcome me. It was a very painless, quick check-in. It's as if they recognized I was tired and ready to get to my room. I appreciated that. My room was super-clean with a very pleasant clean scent. (I'm funny about smells, so this one really passed the test). The room has everything I need for a comfortable stay and I've heard th rough the grapevine that the complimentary breakfast is amazing. Looking forward to that. This area of does not offer a lot of hotel options, so it was important to me that this BW be suitable for my picky nature. Passed with flying colors, so fortunately, no need to look elsewhere.

Came to town for a getaway weekend. Had a little trouble getting into a room which was already paid for in advance. Got my room card and went upstairs but someone else was already in the room watching TV trying to go to sleep. Then was told they're fully booked. Got another room card for different room and all was well once again. clean place. Good breakfast.

these people cancel reservations, put in wrong names and dates, have no idea what they're doing! The General Manager is horrible. i will never use this hotel again. The confirmation you have is not what they use and they can't search by your confirmation number.

Lynn Booth and her Associates go out of their way to make you feel welcome. From the moment you enter until you check out, they go out of their way to make you comfortable. The locations is in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. One local site is High Knob, a must see with 360 degree view of 5 states. On the way up to High Knob stop at Flag Rock to view the Norton city valley. The back roads are awesome and the people are welcoming.

Very nice hotel! Each staff member we encountered was helpful and pleasant. Room was good sized and clean. Our breakfast contained a wide variety and was well prepared. We would gladly return if we happen back there.

This best western is an awesome place to stay. Very clean rooms and great breakfast. Plenty of options close by to eat at and very friendly staff. This is the only place I will stay when I go to either norton or wise va

Very clean, friendly, good location to restaurants, shopping, churches, Indoor pool, fitness center. Good breakfast,,,,eggs, biscuits, gravy, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, juices, waffles, sausage.

We started staying at Best Westerns because they seem to be the best bang for a buck. Reasonably priced with hot breakfast included. This BW was nice. It is showing a little age but we were told that they are in the process of improving it. It is a nice motel, just a little rough around some of the edges. Well built and quiet. The tub and shower appeared to be quite new and very clean. Breakfast was good. Coffee was very good.

Was able to check in super early after a long drive up there which was really accomadating. The staff saw we had children with us and gave us ideas to keep them entertained i.e the pool and days out. Best wrstewe experience.

The Wise Best Western is a great home away from home. Lynn and her crew do a great job taking care of you and your family. This hotel is ideally set in a picturesque valley right in the middle of the Appalcahian Mountains. For me, it's down home. We always love going back there.

It was a great place to stay. I have stayed there frequently and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and nice. There are two restaurants within walking distance. It is centrally located.

clean with everything working and excellent staff. the staff went out of their way to be freindy and check to ensure everything was enjoyable for me. room and service were excellent. The location is right next to a mcdonalds and a steakhouse with other resteraunts and shops very near.

Very well maintained and up to date rooms with a staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. They went out of the way to make it possible to plug in my electric vehicle and always made sure I had everything I needed.

We stayed at the hotel Friday 11/16 and checked out 11/18. Their card reader was down but they didn't let that stop them from checking us in fast and getting us to our room. The staff at this hotel is some of the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever experienced. To me the beds were a little uncomfortable but my husband and kids disagree. The breakfast was fantastic. The kids and I loved the waffles. We were a little sad the pool wasn't set up when we went because that was the main reason we booked there, but they were filling it up when we left Sunday. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Hopefully next time we go the pool will be up!

I hightly recommend Best Western not only for the quality of the rooms and the amazing staff but because they care about their community. BW @ Wise recognizes the parents of Wise student and that's huge!

Our family comes back to Wise for get-togethers 2-3 times a year. We always stay at the Best Western Wise. The rates are reasonable and the staff is like family too. If you want biscuits and gravy for breakfast, you don't have to leave. Just serve yourself and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. This BW is also situated just off the Country Music Highway, right in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains. Beautiful scenery is right outside the door.

My wife's family has a reunion every year in Wise. The family all stays here. They work with us and allow us to use the breakfast area to gather in the evenings after our festivities. The desk staff and housekeeping are top notch. Give them a try if you are in the area

Did the extra miles to go to a Best Western but what a disappointment Front desk clerk could not have been more unpleasant and non caring to any of our questions and needs. Did not care that we were platinum members and certainly did not care that we were Hog members. Asked her if they had a bike wash station and she just answered that she did live im the area and did not even know that BW offers that service at most of their hotels. Room toilet had been used. Bed was clean and confortable. Breakfast place was clean and good

Thank you for letting us know about your experience during your stay. Best Western values all of our guests and as a platinum member you were right to expect more effort from our staff. We do have a water hose, bucket, and cleaning rags that are available to all of our guests that ride to the property. A restaurant list with extensive descriptions will be made and left for reference at the desk since several desk agents are new to the area. I have given your room concerns to the Executive Housekeeper and she will correct the issues that you experience with the housekeeper that had your room so that others will not have to experience the same thing. I am pleased that you found the breakfast area pleasant; our attendant truly does an excellent job

My daughter and I had a very comfortable stay here. Everything is as I had expected. Staff was very friendly, beds were very comfy, rooms very clean. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and appropriate. If I was looking for a down side-there was evidence that the roof had leaked previously, not a problem for me ?? The price was reasonable. We will definitely stay here again.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the staff is very nice. I don't remember requesting a smoking room, but that is what I was given. I bought a can of Lysol to try and get rid of some of the smell, but it didn't really help. The room smells like a bowling alley from the 1970's. So beware if you book this hotel, the smoking room selection is at the top of the list. There was no refrigerator or coffee maker in my room as was advertised. I did not bother to ask for a refrigerator or coffee maker since we are only staying one night and the hotel is sold out for the night. Not worth getting frustrated. Honestly, this is the first bad review I have ever written and I travel a lot. If you book here, make sure you ask for all of the amenities that are important to you. The pool looked nice, but I did not use it. Just can't wait to check out tomorrow morning.

We needed a place to stay while visiting family. Best Western was convenient, clean, and had friendly staff. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool. Breakfast was serve yourself, convenient, and good. They even had gluten free cereal.

The BW at Wise has got to be one of the best values around. I have repeatedly stayed at this motel and have had nothing but great experiences. The entire staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best. When good experience and reasonable pricing are weighed this is a great value that I strongly recommend.

The room was clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was clean, and breakfast was hot and fresh. The bed was very comfortable, kind of noisy with doors slamming at night, but would definitely stay again.

The pool was very clean, the bedding was very comfortable and soft. The staff was helpful & very friendly. The room was very quiet even though it was right across from the elevator. The breakfast was hot and fresh, with several options, although the options were all very carb heavy.

During the recent bad weather in Central Appalachia, I decided to find a hotel early rather than try to push on. I chose the Best Western of Wise, and I'm glad I did. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with a good array of amenities for the price ($76.00 + tax, I believe). They offered a hot breakfast and unlimited coffee, among other things, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. A number of businesses are very close by, including restaurants, gas stations, a supermarket, and even a Lowe's. If you are into luxury, this may not be the place for you. (For a price, the historic Inn at Wise can provide the luxury). If you want and need a comfortable and affordable place to stay, however, this Best Western more than does the job. I highly recommend it.

I would highly recommend this motel as a quality place to stay in the area. the rooms are excellent, staff is very friendly and efficient. There are several eating and shopping places in the area. There are also many places of interest and museum in the area.

This hotel is very nice, especially for the price. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is nice and has a good variety. They have fruit and mints available all day. The check-in and check-out process was very quick. The internet wasn't super fast but was sufficient. I would recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Norton/Wise, VA area.

If the hotel was nonsmoking throughout the experience would be better.There is a strong smoky new paint smell in the public areas.Generally the hotel is clean the breakfast was good. The pool was being renovated at the time of our stay which was disappointing but overall the experience was good.

Great Staff, Clean Hotel, Yummy Breakfast! Great nearby sights & restaurants! Very peaceful. We have stayed at this location for over 4 years during the festival season, and have never had an issue. Well managed, don't hesitate to ask if you need anything!

This hotel is easy to get to. Ample parking, friendly staff and clean rooms. A steakhouse shares the parking lot so dinner is a very short walk away. Free continental breakfast is pretty typical for this type of hotel, but other options are a short drive away.

The room smelled terrible. I don't mind some smoke smell, but this was ridiculous and there was no attempt to move me to another room. The house cleaning had some spray, but it didn't do anything. I bought fabreez at the store and pretty much emptied it there, but it didn't keep it out for long. Something needs done! I will never stay here again.

Room had bad odor to begin with. We turned on the heat and smelled like someone had peed into the heat system. Toilet was still dirty from the guest before us. Carpet was really dirty and the bed had a rubber "Tarp" underneath the fitted sheet. What was this for???? We stayed in the room less that 90 minutes before we checked out and went to Holiday Inn. We would not stay here again.

I am very sorry to hear you had a disappointing stay at our hotel. All of our mattresses have a waterproof mattress protector on them. As for the other issues with your room, there is no excuse, but I offer you my most sincere apologies. Thank you for making us aware of the problems we need to address.

We have stayed here several times visiting family in the area and never have we regretted our decision. Breakfast isn't as much as other places we have stayed but it was satisfying. The bed was wonderful for my husband but a little too soft for me. But the bedding was in good shape and I felt that everything was clean. There has been places I have stayed and not wanted to take my shoes off but not the case here at all. I definitely recommend them for your stay.

wonderful experience and great place to stay. The staff was wonderful and aimed to please. The breakfast was wonderful and delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel for a great place to stay away from home

Just your basic hotel. Rooms were very plain. Our room seemed very "damp". The air conditioner I guess made it that way? No refrigerators in room. Not really much to say good or bad. The lady who worked the front desk was very friendly!

Hotel is right off Hwy 23 and close to good eating establishments. Room was a typical one for Best Western and bed was better than most. Had two small issues in the room which hotel staff made sure they were corrected while we were gone to NASCAR race they for sure don't give lip service when your told that they will take care of an issue. Nice well kept breakfast bar with fresh items and continually making sure tables were clean.

We always enjoy our stay at the Best Western in Wise, VA. It is close to our son's college and we visit several times a year. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The only time we did not stay there during a visit to Wise is when they were booked up. Now we book way ahead.

I stayed for a few night and the place is clean. The lady who checked me in and out was vet pleasant. The only thing that they need are safety bars in the bathroom. The parking also could be better. The side that I parked in had signs for restaurant customers parking only which didn't make since since the hotel door was right in front of it

Stayed two nights and the staff and was very nice and helpful and our room was cleaned very nicely. Would definitely stay again. There location was also nice .Went downstairs and had hot coffee and a little breakfast then took it outside to enjoy very peaceful and nice

Very nice hotel. This is the second time we have stayed there. They have renovated but some of the rooms are not done yet. But we were in a renovated room and it was nice. Breakfast was good and hot. Will stay again.

Easy access and a nice, clean place to stay. Convenient to Big Stone Gap and surrounding area. Several places to eat within walking distance. We would stay here again if traveling through this part of Virginia. Nice breakfast provided.

The hotel was a very nice place to stay, We were very happy. I would advise people that are traveling through Wise Virginia to stay at the Best Western. It was close to allot of market and places to go for dinner. In a note I would recommend the hotel

Great place staff was wonderful location was convenient really wish I had more time to explorer the surrounding area. the university is a short 5 min car ride and shopping at an abundance of new stores is close by.

The Best Western in Wise is an excellent place to stay while enjoying the Appalachian Mountain region. All of the employees are very customer minded and willing to make your stay comfortable. Country biscuits and gravy are on the breakfast menu. You have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains with many local natural attractions within a short drive. Check out High Knob and Flag Rock. Motorcyclists are also welcome.

This hotel is nice enough for one night but probably wouldn't do for a long stay. The rooms were very dark and it needs to be updated. The water pressure in my room was terrible, I am someone with long thick hair and had a hard time getting shampoo out. The whole hotel should be updated.

Overall it was close to perfect. Room just smelled like smoke at first and there were never any spoons at breakfast and kids were running up and down the hall- but all minor things. Overall an A. If these things were fixed, an A plus. Def an A plus for value.

It was what I have come to exspect from B W. It was very clean and neat. We loved the indoor pool. It's only 3 and 4 ft deep, perfect for the kids. Breakfast was ok. We were right next to the elevator on the third floor and only heard the softball group come in. Otherwise very very quiet. There is a McDonalds and a Bojangles right next to hotel.

Great Value for the ammentaties. This hotel has an indoor pool, hot tub, good breakfast which includes biscuits and gravy sausage, waffles, yogurt, toast, bagels , close to the college, good customer service. I would stay here again in the future. Close to several Resturant's and a Walmart. Across the street from Bojangles and a car wash.

I stay here when I visit my daughter at UVA and it's always comfortable. I would recommend it for best hotel in its price range. I've stayed here a number of time and they never fail to satisfy my needs.

The staff at check in/Check out were very courteous. Hotel and rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Easily accessible from the highway. Breakfast was good but wasn't kept stocked so you may have to ask for what you want if it runs out.

I stay here every time I come to Wise on business. The hotel has some age and it shows a little. There has been some renovations done. Over all I find it convenient place for me as it is in the middle of the area I have to work in. It's a good place for family's to stay at as well.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of my room, and the hotel in general. I usually always travel with my own pillows, especially when staying at a hotel, and even though I had mine, I tried their pillows and actually found them to be very comfortable. Clean, efficiently run hotel. Tiffany, at the front desk was so helpful, as was the rest of the staff. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh and the bed was so comfy. The pool looked inviting and wish we had brought our suits. Our great grandson really enjoyed it on a previous visit. We always try to stay here when in town......if they are not totally booked!

My family visits to Wise 3-4 times a year to "come back home." It is great to get back to the mountains again. We always plan our trips around staying at the Wise Best Western Hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the employees treat us all like family.

If you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, good rates and a caring, friendly staff the Best Western at Wise is sure to fill your needs. I don't often take it upon myself to make recommendations but this hotel merits my hardiest endorsement. We were treated very well by the staff. We come here every year and always were treated well. We sure appreciate them allowing us to mingle in the lobby and parking lot to catch up with old friends and make new friends.

The staff was willing to bend over and do anything that was asked of them! I was here for 3 weeks for business and my family was able to attend with me. The staff was able to get everything extra that we needed in the room extra shelves, table, fridge and anything else we could think of. They printed sheets off for my kids to color and activities to do. Thank you to all of the staff there that made our stay all that much better, Tiffany, Ali you 2 were amazing.

We have stayed at this Best Western previously while visiting family. They are always so very helpful and a very clean place to stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast was wonderful and was kept full at all times. The hotel was full but you would not have known it with the food supply.

The rooms where not so good, the beds were terrible they were very firm and we ended up with a stinky smoking room the service was awful. The breakfast bar was gross. The carpet was wet in several spots and the ac was terrible.

You couldn't ask for a friendlier, more welocming staff than the staff at Bes Western Wise. They make you feel right at home and are always willing to help out, offer helpful information. They are patient around the clock, and keep the lobby fresh and well stocked.

Stayed here overnight just to get some sleep. Beds were very comfortable, the hotel was clean, and staff were accommodating. It was very quiet and check out was quick and easy. It is off the main road a couple of blocks but not too far. We enjoyed the view on the way.

This hotel is very centrally located to many hiking and winery excursions. It was very clean, staff very attentive and personable. Breakfast was fresh, hot and well looked after. Lobby was clean. Check-in and out was simple, smooth and easy.

The staff at this BW are AAA+. We had questions on parks, fishing, hiking, stores, and all were answered either by room care or front desk. The room carpets do need to be replaced or professionally cleaned. This is a BW item and zero reflection on housekeeping as in house did a excellent job.

My family has stayed at this hotel for the past 10 years. We always come back because it is clean! We enjoy the pool and the breakfasts but cleanliness is our first priority! The staff here is also super friendly!

This is 1 of 2 hotels in the area we use for hometown visits. Clean affordable and free breakfast is astonishingly good with a high variety. Room are large and clean and large bathrooms. The single serve coffee maker in the room was ok but we go thru a lot of coffee, prefer a pot. No biggie.

BW Wise is a great facility if you are visiting UVA wise as I have used it a few times with a family member attending school there. Pool and workout room are sufficient for a budget hotel. Breakfast is average for the brand some hot items, biscuits n gravy, waffles etc does the job to get you moving in the am. Rooms are nice sized but lighting in the bathroom I have noticed is very dim. Rooms have always been clean and pretty well maintained with the exception of musty smells in multiple rooms I have been in. Only issue I have had is on my last trip, I was sleeping in due to a late arrival the night before and with the DO NOT DISTURB sign on got continually knocked on my door until I answered at 930am in the morning by the maid! Overall a great choice and clean accommodations!

This is our 2nd stay at the hotel. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is located conveniently close to UVA Wise, which is what we needed. The hotel is safe and has lots of parking. The refrigerator was a good size and ice cold. Our room on the 3rd floor smelled a bit musty...or a bit like urine...we kept going back and forth on the smell. Otherwise, the stay was great. It's a great place for UVA Wise students/parents to stay.

Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Have stayed at other hotels in this area and this is by far the best by comparison. The breakfast was excellent.

We were planning our trip and after deciding just how far to travel we started looking for a place to stay. The reviews for the Best Western were 4 plus stars so we gave it a shot and it did not disappoint. Fantastic accommodations and a friendly staff. We'd stop in again if ever in the area.

After being gone from the area for awhile i found my arrival at the hotel was like coming home. The hotel staff did all they could for this handicapped person to help make my stay great. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Norton, Big Stone Gap area.

Very clean and friendly. Breakfast was average complimentary breakfast. We had a double queen no smoking rooms yes no smoking, you have to specify that, that could use a little updating but overall good.

My family visited Best Western recently and were very pleased with the improvements. The workout facility had been recently upgraded, had newer equipment, a large flat screen television, very clean, and welcoming. The lobby area was very nice with plenty of seating and a large table allowing our family to visit in the lobby. The breakfast in the morning was nice with plenty of choices.

The room was damp and had an odor. The A/C unit was not working properly. Beds were hard and extremely worn. Workout facility and pool area had an unbearable odor and we were unable to utilize on this stay. If you have any allergy issues, do not consider this hotel. Our allergies kept us from sleeping well for both nights. We stayed at this hotel two years ago and our experience was acceptable. This visit was extremely disappointing.

Room was clean, comfortable beds and comfortable room. This is a fairly new facility. The breakfast was awesome too. No complaints at all. Best Western standards exceed some of the other brands I have seen lately.

Great motel that goes out of their way to accommodate a group of goldwing riders. Very motorcycle friendly. We plan to hold our event again next year along with some single night stopovers. The only issue I would complain about is the breakfast uses powdered eggs. But hey, I eat anything. :)

As usual this motel has a fantastic staff. They always go above and beyond in the services they are asked to do. The registration desk is always fast and efficient and the clerk, Tamera, greets you with a smile and is always helpful. Every staff member is friendly and helpful. I asked if they had some coffee creamer they were out of, and the kitchen helper came back with a full box of creamer and came over to my table to wait on me personally. Just one example of the courtesies given.

The property is in excellent condition. This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and the highway. It has very clean and updated large rooms. Friendly staff. Highly recommended. Didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked great too. We stayed in a king room.

We arrived almost at midnight. We were easily checked in without any hassle. The beds were comfortable, room was modern and clean. Everything looks beautiful and up-to-date. The breakfast was delicious, it consisted of eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, waffles, milk, juices, coffee, and yogurt. Morning check out was a breeze.

The Best Western in Wise, VA offers a very nice and clean facility right in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Being centrally located, you can make several day trips. Pack a lunch or look for a mountain trout stream. Go to the top of High Knob and see several states from the overlook tower. Follow the Trail of the Lonesome Pine. A very relaxing place to visit.

Picked this hotel as a stopover on a 13 hour trip. It was a great choice. Very friendly helpful girl at the desk, clean and well kept hotel. Comfortable bed, nice room and wonderful location in the town. Loved having a restaurant right next door and stores on a back road to get to. Will stay again I'm sure.

Very much a standard hotel, as the corporate picture show. Check-in and out was easy and uneventful. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were somewhat friendly. Excellent sleeping space. WiFi worked well, as expected. Overall, a decent place to spend the night during a long trip, and at a very reasonable price.

This hotel was clean and comfortable, but it has a weird vibe. This hotel must have problems with previous guests. Although my wild teenage days were decades ago, check-in was like an interrogation. The sign in the room with the price I would be charged if I dared misplace one of their scratchy white towels was over the top.

Most impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the bed.... The location of the hotel was convenient to the areas amenities. I signed up as a reward member due to being asked by Kim at the front desk. It just made sense to do this since I travel a lot with work.

Best Western of Wise has truly changed my opinion of this brand of hotels. I truly enjoy everything about this hotel from it's continental breakfast to it's indoor pool, internet and comfortable room. It's location is central to shopping and restaurants and within walking distance to McDonald's, a Steak house, grocery stores and gas stations.

There aren't many options in Wise, but this mid-level hotel was a good option. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the breakfast was hot and good and the service was friendly. The only real downside here is that there just isn't much around. There aren't many restaurants within walking distance or other amenities. That's not the hotel's fault, of course, it's just a small, quiet town. The price is right here too, providing good value for the money.

I travel frequently for business, but had never stayed at Best Western before my first time in Wise, VA on 11/05/15. I liked it so well that I have stayed there 3 times since. I am an Elite Platinum member of the Choice Privileges Rewards Program. Best Western honored that status. At my request, they made me a Diamond Rewards member in their program! I am planning a family trip for Christmas, and will try another Best Western along the way.

Great except internet dropped several times. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I travel to this area once every year for business and always stay at this hotel. I will stay here again.

I stay at Best Western every time I come to Wise Va. I enjoy the stay and it is always pleasant and I enjoy the rewards program that is offered, I have been able to use the rewards and it has been a great benefit.

We spent 3 days at Best Western of Wise in October. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was very neat and clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy etc. I was very pleased with Best Western of Wise, VA and would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

Very clean hotel, Friendly helpful staff, Our first stay here but we will return. Breakfast is just a great way to start the day and eliminate the AM hassle. Only negative was the Wifi was not working at least on my laptop.

Went to Clintwood Va to see the Ralph Stanley Museum then on to Wise Va. to the motel Had a good fast checking . Even though we got there early we only had a 10 minute wait and they had a room ready for us. The gals were real friendly . They told us where to park and they even brought the room keys right out to us as we had an outside door just real close to the entrance. Very nice stay .

The Best Western Wise, Va. is always excellent in their service, cleanliness and friendliness. We have stayed there numerous times and always are made to feel like family. We have stayed in many motels and hotels in our lifetime and have never felt as welcome and catered to as we have felt at this particular motel. They handle every request as though we are the only people staying there and even on busy times they still make the effort to be helpful. Our visit this time was no exception. Also, best breakfast!

I am a Best Western rewards member. At check in I gave my Military ID & credit card I made the reservation with as usual. The desk clerk then asked for my drivers license I asked why she said in case you damage something we know where to find you and entered my DL# into the system ..WHAT? BW has all my info in their system as I am a member to me that's a privacy act violation. Also I requested a 1st floor rm away from elevator,I was given 3rd floor right across from the elevator! I had ridden 510 miles on my Harley & did not want to argue with the desk clerk

This was our first night of a 3 day birthday trip for me. We went mainly to visit some Bluegrass Musicians old homes & museums. Loved the Ralph Stanley Museum,but couldn't make the Carter Family Place as we were to early the next day and couldn't wait for them to open. Had a nice trip .

Very nice hotel in beautiful area of mountains. Friendly staff; very helpful. Very good breakfast but closes at 9:30am. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here if passing through area or staying to visit.

This Best Western property is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Appalachia Mountains. There are many back roads just outside the door. High Knob is close by and has a 360 degree panoramic view of 5 states. The leaves are just starting to turn.

Great place to stay with restaurants within walking distance and shopping. The sights in the area were very scenic and would recommend to stay and view the Wise , Va area. I had great help in finding a place to play golf and the course of Raven Rock gave me an experience I have never had in my golfing life

Have spent 6 months at the Wise Inn, and decided to try the Best Western again. Here's a comparison review of the two locations: Location: Best Western is near the main highways so access is good. Wise Inn is only a couple of miles away so quieter, but still easy to get to. Parking: Best Western Parking is always full with some trucks taking up space. Wise Inn has plenty of parking and some of it is covered so perfect for winter Resturants: Best Western has Renos next to it. Wise Inn has a great pub at the hotel and excellent Mexican just down the road. Many fast food places next to BW including McD's. Breakfast: BW has a typical free breakfast, Wise Inn has the diner with great breakfasts, but not free Rooms: BW is like a used car with a lot of mileage, the Wise Inn is still a "new" car. Bedding: No contest here...the Wise Inn is far superior. Bathrooms: BW has a tub/shower, Wise Inn has a walk inn shower with great water pressure Internet and Cell Phone strength: No comparison here...Best Western by far. After 8 months still 50-50 if you get any internet at the wise inn. Main reason I moved. Other: BW onsite pool/work out equipment vs off site for WE. Wise Inn definitely less crowded, and quieter by far. BW service has always been more personal/family oriented. Some great folks at the Wise Inn too. Best Western has a national rewards point system. Wise Inn has frequent stay discounts. So which one to go to? Personally, I love the Wise Inn, but the lack of reliable internet sent me back to the BW. If that, a free breakfast, and the BW rewards program is not important to you, then I'd recommend the Wise Inn. If either of these are important to you then the Best Western is still an excellent choice for you.

Been staying here for a few years now. Great price, great staff, and really nice rooms. Free breakfast includes eggs, sausage, and waffles, which were all delicious! Always a great experience. Definitely recommend to anyone!

This hotel is exactly what you'd expect from Best Western. Nothing more. Nothing less. Staff was friendly, accommodations adequate -clean room/bath, no frills bkfst. I'm surprised smoking rooms are still offered. Hot water on bkfst bar was cold. Hotel is doing exterior renovations....I was not bothered by any noise. Sheets were noticeably soft & comfortable.

We love staying at this Best Western! The rooms are always clean and staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The breakfast offer is great and they also always have fresh fruit available. No complaints here!
