    « Enjoyable stay »

I enjoyed my stay very much, on this occassion. Although it was only overnight I had the privilege of being in one of the whirlpool tub king rooms and the tub size was great. Toilets are a little low to the floor!!

    « Beautiful hotel BUT... »

When my family and I arrived I must say I was quite impressed with what I saw. Most of the time I stay at the Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, or Wyndham but we stayed because of work. The rooms are really nice (furnishings etc) and the hotel appears exceptionally clean however as time passed on after checking in I started seeing ROACHES in my room!! Crawling up the wall, on the nightstand, on the telephone !! Omg I don't believe what I'm seeing!! Everything looks so nice here. I called downstairs and spoke to Frederico who did not appear surprised as his response to me was yeah we bought this property from a days inn. Unfortunately we don't have a maintenance man on duty but someone will be here tomorrow. We can have you moved to a new room tomorrow. Now I'm wondering are there roaches in that room too??!! I mean he already knows about this situation. How are they able to do business this way? Every review I have read about this hotel seemed relatively favorable for the most part with the exception of a few complaints. I mean I realize you can't satisfy everyone all of the time but this is ridiculous. I don't want these things in my clothes or my car and I certainly don't want to take them back with me when I leave. If this business clearly knows about these ROACHES then why are they not exterminating ??? I don't want these things crawling on me while my family and I are trying to sleep!!!!! Now I've just killed one on the headboard!!!! Oh and one of the elevators are still out of order. Sadly disappointed??

    « GOOD VALUE »

Great location, easy check-in, commodious room to accommodate 3 adults, complimentary breakfast better than most! Just a word of caution about booking with Tingo. If you have to change your original reservation ( in my case make it 2 nights instead of 3 ), you will be asked to cancel the whole reservation and rebook it. My VISA was credited in a timely manner. Be sure you rebook your changed reservation right away. All customer service reps were great and the best part of all- They answer the phone right away!!!

    « Good medical stay »

We have stayed at this Best Western on numerous occasions while receiving medical treatment at Wake Forest Medical Center. The staff has always been courteous and helpful and the reasonable nightly rate is a tremendous benefit when one is facing large medical bills. Like any business there are times when things don't always go as planned or hoped but overall you will find this a good value.

« Blue Light Special: Elegance, Comfort, and Bacon »

Best Western Hanes Mall is quite a surprise to arrive to if you arrive at dusk. It appears to be a spectacle with blue lights all around sitting in a fairly remote area not far from the mall. You would imagine it was a big show taking place, but it's apart of the contemporary exterior design that perfectly matches the interior. The interior is very chic and comfortable. The lobby is impressive and inviting with a chrome finish. The hallways of each floor has a new feel and the rooms are beautiful designed with subtle browns, soft greens, with long round tube-like pillows with matching decor. There is also a guest laundry room to boot. Very comfortable and well worth the rate. Breakfast is complimentary and the bacon and eggs are outstanding. ~Partee

    « Don't Bother »

Stayed here the weekend of November 19-20. That infamous elevator is still not working. Bugs in the bathroom and a multi-angle shower head support that wouldn't stay up. Luckily, was only there for one night. Spend a few more $$ and go elsewhere.

    « Awesome »

It was an awesome experience. We booked 13 rooms . Upon arrival our experience during check in was very smooth and easy. Service was great . Great location . Breakfast area was well stocked and clean. The rooms were very comfortable and well decorated.

    « Business trip »

Hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Elevator was out of service when I was checking in and they were able to move me to floor that I would not have to carry luggage up stairs but if had not been able to move me off 4th floor were going to carry my luggage up stairs for me. Elevator was fixed by morning.

    « Surgery Stay »

Best Stay in Winston Salem! I had heart surgery at Wake Forest on Monday, so we arrived on Sunday and stayed through Wednesday. When I called to make reservations the lady made sure we were well taken care of with a VERY comfortable room, and a medical rate. Our stay was above and beyond and they even offered to help my husband get me to the room when I was discharged from the hospital. Breakfast was great and check out and in is a breeze. Also directly across from the mall and several restaurants! I HIGHLY recommend the Best Western Hanes Mall!!

    « Great Experience! »

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We arrived prior to noon and requested an early check-in. Justin was unable to accomodate our request at that time because the hotel had been at full capacity the night before. He was extremely polite and asked us to call him at noon to see if he could get us in our rooms. To say the least, we really appreciated his assistance. Throughout our visit, this young man was awesome! He was extremely busy and could have easily blown us off and reminded us that check-in was at 3 pm, but he didn't. The hotel itself was also nice. It was clean and you can tell it was recently remodeled. It is beautiful from the outside with pretty blue lighting accents. The inside is modern and our room was extremely clean. My biggest complaint is the small size of the bathroom. It is fine for one person at a time but we had kids to bathe. The size was challenging. Luckily the sink is located outside of the bathroom. My only other complaint is that one of the elevators was out of order. The other elevator was extremely slow and busy. We used the stairs quite a bit despite being on the 4th floor. The location is near Hanes Mill Mall. Plenty of places to eat and relax. One more thing -- I do agree with other reviewers that stated the parking lot is small and filled up quickly at night. Overall, this was a great experience for the money! I would stay there again.

    « Excellent stay »

Good location, very nicehelpful staff, newly renovated hotel, clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, good breakfast, reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Relatively close to Wiston Salem main attractions, that is, if you are driving.

    « CROWDED »

We found this hotel to be very busy and crowded. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and on the "quiet side" of the hotel. The broken elevator (still broken a week later on out second stay) was frustrating. Guests and cleaning staff used the same elevator and many times it was stalled on floors making the wait to get to the room lengthy. Stair were fine for those that could take the stairs.

    « Badly Run Hotel »

From outside this hotel looks very nice, but the location and the outside look is all that is going for it. Parking lot: Too small for the size of the hotel. A quarter of the parking lot is undeveloped land across the hotel. The rest has wierd turns and curbing. Lobby: despite the cheap modern decorations, it looks tired and old. Elevators: One didn't work. The other one broke on the second night. The next morning it wasn't fixed even by 11. When I asked the girl at the front desk when they are planning to fix it, she said she is on the phone with elevator people, with lots of attitude. When I asked where is the manager, I was informed that he will not be in until the afternoon. Only a bad manager stays away when the only two elevators in his hotel are out, the guests have to walk up and down five floors, and the cleaning staff are lining up in the lobby with their carts full with being able to get to the upper floors. Rooms: have new furniture, extremely bad lighting and setup, old carpets and curtains, and smallest of bathrooms. The card key was non functional after the maids cleaned the room. Staff: except for the first nights front desk clerk, the rest are sorely, unfriendly, and inefficient.

    « Nice upgrade »

Enjoyed an upgrade for being a return customer. Jacuzzi bathtub was clean and complimented the room well. Plenty on parking for all vehicle types. Nearby restaurants and a large mall. Good place to stay for all travel.

    « Very Pleasant Stay »

I am a contractor that travels for work. The breakfast was fresh and of good quality. Room was clean and recently updated. Guest services handled any request with ease. I ended up leaving the night prior to my check out date and had to come back to the hotel and the guest services checked me back into my room with no questions or additional charge.

« Ok for soccer tourney event stay »

The location was good, accommodations were not terrible, but had these issues: 1) opened the lid on the A//C control unit in the room and a small roach ran across the touch panel..ewww! 2) shower drain was slow 3) room had a faint "off" smell not sure if maybe pets had been in room 4) small in room fridge had a bad smell when door was opened On the plus side: 1) room looked clean 2) breakfast was good 3) staff were friendly and courteous 4) location was good If I had to I'd stay here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

    « Great value »

The property appears to have received a good renovation recently, except the elevators still show their age, one operated rough and one wasn't working. I'd stay again for the price. The room was comfortable and quiet, but the jetted tub wasn't inviting as it was in a tiny bathroom shower combo and the shower head didn't satisfy on any setting. The breakfast lounge and lobby are well done and food was very good. Some of the parking lot seemed a bit too far away so security was a bit of concern. My biggest complaint is getting in and out of the property was aggravating since the divided road crossovers in front have been permanently blocked so it seemed to require finding ways to turn around to get the direction you need to go into the hotel and back to the interstate. Probably would be a real pain in rush hour, but carefully planning the route or asking for the best way to get out should help.

    « Great motel »

Room was very clean and well decorated an spacious. The room was furnished very well with coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and board, and all the small items that make your stay more enjoyable. The facility is located at an excellent location very close to shopping, all types of food facilities and intertaiment.

« Nice to be there! »

We went for 4 days to the Hotel with the Boca United Soccer Academy U13 and U14, plus the coaches, some parents and the bus driver and everything was excellent from the breakfast to the rooms. Congratulations to all the workers of the hotel that make it happen! thank you.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

We attended a co worker's wedding, and I couldn't believe how nice the hotel was. The rooms were big and clean, and I slept like a champ. There were a couple of let downs though: * The parking lot was a weird setup. We had to climb up and down a steep hill to get back and forward. * Need more ice machines on every floor. * The plumbing was a little noisy. * The breakfast on Saturday morning DIDN'T HAVE BACON!!! (But that was ok Lol) I normally am very hard to please when it comes to different smells and things like that, but my wife and I had no issues. Thanks B.W.P., we'll be back!!!

« OK but Needs Maintenance »

The Best Western is an OK hotel. The lobby promises more, but the rest of the experience is low-average. On my recent stay, one of the elevators was not working, the faucet in the bathroom had the drips, and the baseboards were missing a piece here and there. In addition, the door did not automatically close and one of the exterior doors did not close properly, a potential safety concern. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I liked the free newspapers in the lobby and the free breakfast. This hotel is about 4 or fewer years old and seems to need loving attention.

    « Business Travel »

Very nice property and friendly staff. Excellent value for the price. I would definitely recommend this location to others and plan on staying here again on my next visit to Winston Salem. Conveniently located close to excellent restaurants.

    « Very comfortable room »

We arrived here absolutely exhausted after a day of driving and were very pleased with our clean and comfortable room. Check in was quick and easy and the beds were very comfortable which was such a blessing since we were so tired. The price we got online was extremely reasonable, making this a very good value. Breakfast was adequate and a nice start to another day of driving. Thank you, we had a very nice stay.

    « Winston-Salem Visit »

Staff was great and didn't mind answering any of my questions. Clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet, and I didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. I liked being walking distance from the mall, and only 10 minutes from Old Salem.

    « No surprises »

We found this Best Western to be a good choice for a value hotel. The front desk staff was courteous and efficient and our room was clean and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but nothing more than you would expect at this type of hotel. Like so many budget hotels, the breakfast experience would have been better if there had been someone staffing the breakfast area. Of the two elevators, one was out of order during our visit and the other one made you think that it was on its last legs...hopefully repairs will be made when you visit. Overall, the BWP is a good choice for the cost.

    « pretty good »

Clean, handicapped accessible, no breakfast attendant. Service dogs welcomed. It was the first time we had biscuits and gravy in years, and it was a great trip over the mountains and the Piedmont. Very good.

« Out of town working »

The bed is really comfortable. And the staff was really helpful. The breakfast was better than most continental ones at other hotels. The parking lot is well lit and controlled by cameras so you know your vehicle is being watched which is a good thing.

    « Nice place »

For the most part the hotel was nice. Our room was very nice and had no issues with it. We enjoyed the jetted tub that was in our room. It was close to the Hanes Mall and restaurants. Breakfast was good better then other places I have been. The elevator and pool area needed some attention. One elevator was out and the other one was close to being out of order every time we got on it we thought we might be trapped. We liked this hotel because it had a pool but it looked like it had not been cleaned in a while there was a lot of debris in it so my husband skimmed it just so we could swim. For the most part it was a nice place to stay and we would stay again

    « Pleasant Stay »

Beautiful renovations and the room was nicely appointed. Breakfast was your typical okay freebie. The only drawback was that one of the elevators was out of order and the one that was working was slow. They could also use a little bit bigger of a parking lot.

    « Mixed bag. »

Nice lobby, nice remodel, nice amenities. However, the shower was abominable and the construction within the bathroom was poorly finished. A/C made me sick. Great location though, and good price. Just not quite finished properly. Bedding was awfully thin, too.

    « Great staff »

Anytime I have appointments in Winston-Salem, I always stay at Best Western. The location is convenient to the mall and hospital. The staff have always been helpful and nice. They printed out directions for me and just made my stay enjoyable.

    « Good value »

This is a clean, recently renovated hotel that is a good value for the money. Rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable and there is minimal noise. When in the area i always chose this hotel. There is a stupid 200 character minimum for comments which is ridiculous.

    « OK »

Lobby appearance is nice. One of the elevators was broken (old elevators), bright orange caulking exposed in plumbing areas, torn carpet, outlet at sink area didn't work, breakfast was empty and lacking. Comfortable bed. For a one night stay, it was ok. However, if we had planned to stay multiple nights we would have left. Will not visit again.

    « Great stay! »

We only got to stay 1 night because we had to get back to work. The room was clean. The BEST part of our stay was the young lady that checked us in. She was so nice. We asked for a crib and she had us one within 10 mins. I believe her name Carleigha?? That could be wrong but very close. Thank you! We will be back soon.

« BW offered what we needed »

Our Airbnb canceled when while driving from Lexington KY to Winston-Salem. Booked with BW two hours before arrival for a good price. The front desk person was professional yet not very welcoming. We stayed four days, our room was comfortable and clean, and the bed was great. Breakfast was okay, good selection but the same every day, they could benefit from changing it a bit every day. Our overall experience was very good. BTW my husband is fan of BW because he like waffles in the morning, ha ha

    « Very nice »

A very nice place to stay. Convenient. Close to Mall and restaurants. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Friend and I were on our way to Myrtle Beach and chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the Mall and restaurants, which was right behind the hotel. We could have walked if we had chose. Thank you for the great service.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

The wife and I chose to stay here one night on our way to the coast based on the reviews on trip advisor. We found our room to be quiet and the bed comfortable. After opening the window to air out the piped in strong cologne smell (which can bring on asthma attacks in the wife) we slept well. But - the heavy drapes do not close to block the morning light, so no sleeping in. We were particularly looking forward to breakfast, which other reviewers had gushed about. It was a step up from continental, but barely. Bleh coffee, threw out the instant grits and orange juice, and no butter - just a flavorless whipped spread not worth the calories. But since sleep is more important than breakfast and we were able to sleep with the window open - to the sound of crickets and No Smell! - we slept great. (Review written by 'the wife'.)

« Great hotel for a great price!!! »

When I book this hotel I was concern because of the liw price but I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived.Very modern and clean hotel. The staff is very helpful. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is next to the Mall and was very convenient to find place to eat.

« Once again, a great stay for our family! »

This is one of the best free breakfasts you'll ever get - eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc. Room was clean and a good night for our family. Mostly Comfortable beds and bedding, and a very nice lobby area. Staff was very helpful and friendly as well! We'll be back on our way through next year! Thanks again for a great stay!

    « Roaches »

We had to cut our 2-night stay in 2:30 am on night one due to roaches crawling around the room. I had fallen asleep with the tv on, and when I woke I noticed something crawling on the tv stand. I turned on the light and saw a roach run behind the stand. Soon after, the other guest in the room noticed small baby reaches on the wall behind the stand (the stand houses the fridge and microwave). Nervously scanning the room, I noticed more baby roaches on the a/c unit. Then the other guest yelled.."oh my gosh, there's a big one." Needles to say we checked out, immediately. We couldn't do a restless night terrified that bugs would crawl on us and through out luggage. Will not return.

    « Comfortable Stay »

I stopped by in North Carolina and stayed at Best Western for one night. The rooms aren't large, but it's enough for a family of 4 or less. My only issue was that the bathrooms were kind of small, but it was okay. This hotel offers free wifi, which was very slow, and free breakfast. Options were very limited, but they weren't bad. They had cereal, milk, and a make you own breakfast sandwich bar with eggs, bacon, and biscuits. It was the typical continental breakfast, but definitely better than the one I stayed at in Pennsylvania.

    « Will visit again! »

We were only there for overnight stay but our room was clean & comfortable and updated. Breakfast had good selection of food, was very good & also included with stay. Close to Mall. Check-in was quick with no wait. Will definitely stay here again whenever we visit the area.

« A good choice for Hanes Mall »

We were stopping at Winston Salem for shopping at the Hanes Mall, so we stayed two nights at this BW. At first sight, the area around the hotel is a little bit disappointing, and the access to the hotel is rather complicated in the sense you can't make a left turn on Silas Creek Pkwy when you arrive from the Mall (our GPS made us make a long detour !). But going to the Mall from the hotel is very easy and fast, you're there in two minutes. And the next day we accessed the hotel by doing a U-turn at the Speedway gas station so that was ok. The woman at front desk was nice and polite, we asked for a room facing the highway and that's what we got, on 4th floor which was very good for us (the rooms on the back are supposed to face the Mall, but in fact there is no view at all because of high trees). The room was very nice, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was OK. It's true (from what an other reviewer said) that it's rather unpleasant to get drops on your head from the AC above you when you use the benches of the smoking area. And it's right by the stairs leading to the pool and to an other entrance to the rooms, so you feel you are annoying people passing by. Maybe they should think of changing the location of the smoking area ? We used the pool in the afternoon, and loved it. At this time of the day we had the pool just for ourselves, which was nice. So we really enjoyed this hotel and would return there next time we'll be in Winston Salem.

    « Halfway stay »

My boyfriend and I were driving to Myrtle Beach and decided to stay somewhere halfway to get some sleep. We saw this hotel for a good price and booked it; however, once we arrived and I went inside to check in the lady at the front desk was absolutely rude and seem annoyed that I was there. She wasn't friendly to me or the other young lady asking about if they had a printer. Other than that the hotel was fine for a few hours to get some sleep.

« Beautiful Rooms; Excellent Breakfast »

This is a very well kept hotel - super clean. Excellent room and bed. The breakfast was delicious - and has caramel creamer on the line (which I rarely find) as well as french vanilla and hazelnut. All breakfast products are top quality. The staff is very professional. Free USA Today.

    « Nice stay »

Staff was very polite and helpful. Rooms were updated and breakfast was great--nice selection. The only downside was when they updated the vanity in the room, they failed to cover exposed plumbing. While not readily visible it could be sern from certain vantage points in the room. Rate was very reasonable.

« Excellent value for the price »

I'm rating this a 5 for the value. The location is convenient, with lots of restaurants and shopping nearly. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast (included) was unremarkable - a typical chain hotel breakfast. But this was an excellent value for the price, and we'd stay here again.

« Very nice, convenient to Forsyth medical center »

I stayed one night while my mother was in the hospital. We got a discounted hospital rate. The room and bathroom were very clean and recently updated. Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Refrigerator and microwave in room with free breakfast. Rooms were good size and well arranged.

« Not an 8.7 as stated by the hotel »

I was staying with my friend during this visit I I was supposed to be a guest the room was in my friends name but we split the bill. First when I entered the hotel it did not match the photos they have online, then when I met my friend the desk clerk asked me for ID.. In all my years of booking hotels from high end 5 star/resorts to lower end hotels I've never been asked for my identification as a guest! The lady said I would not be able to come on the property other wise that it was for my safety, no information would be stored, but then why ask to see it? The next thing my friend and I noticed was all the photos online did not match what the hotel currently looks like it's much smaller inside. Then the elevators buttons did not light up after pushing them, the continental breakfast made up both ill later on but during breakfast it was a madhouse where guests made a mess leaving food all over the place and it was not cleaned up. The smoking section outside was 2 benches set right under dripping air conditioners that soaked the ground beneath and if the desk clerk spotted you smoking elsewhere they would yell at you to go smoke in the smoking area. What really upset my friend and I who payed for this room was the hotel claimed to be a 8.7 online a sign at the desk says the same thing plus the outside is deceiving but clearly it is not! I would avoid this place unless you really need a place.

    « Nice hotel! »

Very nice BW. Rooms were very clean, good a/c. Breakfast was good, but could have used a better selection of fruit. Rooms were quiet, couldn't hear walking in hall or upstairs. Would definitely stay again. It is close to mall and there are many restaurants nearby.

« Great room; but service, parking, breakfast not great »

The clerk who checked me in was simply rude and awful; but everyone else I encountered was friendly and professional. Parking is terrible. Breakfast was not good. But the room was clean and comfortable; no complaints at all.

    « Very nice! »

The staff was very friendly, and the room was very nice. The bed was really comfortable and everything looked clean and updated. Also, the tub was awesome! It's a very short distance from downtown which is pretty convenient. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to family or friends.

    « Clean room »

Our daughter had gone to Hilton Head, SC a few days before us and had stayed here. Her recommendation encouraged us to stay at the same place. We found the room very clean. Breakfast was included and suited us just fine with a selection of juices, coffee, tea, fruit, hot and cold choices. The only issue we had was the entrance to the property. It was located on a busy highway and we had to slow down to actually see the entrance. We almost pulled into an empty lot situated before the parking lot.

« Stayed here several times, will again »

Nice rooms, friendly staff, decent breakfasts. Everything that Best Western does best is done well at this location. Hanes mall is a good location as there are many restaurants in the area and despite the location being on a parkway it is very quiet!

« Who is in charge? »

This motel has very nice rooms. However, there were several negative factors. As we arrived, one of the other guests was standing outside the front door of the lobby, yelling and cursing into his cell phone. He remained there, screaming and cursing on his phone, during the entire time it took us to register, unload our luggage, drive to the parking lot and walk back to the lobby, more than 20 minutes. I was surprised that none of the staff took any measures to offer him a private place to talk or to suggest to him that he might want to continue his conversation in his room. We were left with the impression that the staff was not fully in charge of the guest experience at this establishment, despite the fact that they thoughtfully upgraded our room to a floor away from that of a large wedding party. The room was nice and we were not disturbed. The next morning the breakfast area was filled way beyond capacity. Guests were very courteous to each other, but it was almost impossible to navigate because of the convoluted food service layout and the bottle neck at the waffle and toaster stations. Children scurried about and seating was very crowded. Those factors, however, were not as serious as the issues we had with problems leaving and returning to the hotel. It is located on a divided highway with no clearly marked entry or exit. Travelers must drive in the opposite direction and make a u- turn in traffic to a poorly marked entryway. The parking lot is not fully paved and has many unsafe and somewhat treacherous areas which look like an unfinished attempt to make a better entrance. All these factors influenced our rating. We would not stay here again. .

    « Great Clean Hotel in Winston-Salem »

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Forsyth Medical Center where my great nephew was being born. Check-in was fast and we stayed on the third floor in room 320. Very nice room with two comfy queen beds with great air conditioner. Bathroom was a little small but very clean. I liked the sink was outside of the bathroom. Pillows were not very good but I had 4 of them on bed so I fixed them to my liking. Nice flat screen tv and larger than a dorm refrigerator and microwave. Parking is tight as most of the parking lot is up on the hill behind hotel. Buffet Breakfast was very good. We stayed three nights and it was different one morning was bacon cooked crisp and little round eggs and then other day was sausage patties and biscuit with sausage gravy. Lots of choices to choose from bagels, little Danish, oatmeal, cereal, and 2 waffle makers. Area was kept clean and stocked with food. Would have gotten a 5 star rating except the small parking area in front of the hotel and cotton ball pillows. Will definitely stay here again if price is right.

    « A pleasant surprise! »

This hotel is perfectly located...close to town, close to the mall. close to the hospital...and close to the interstate! It is also quiet, clean. comfortable, friendly and well maintained. This will be my place to stay now whenever I visit Winston-Salem.

« The Place to stay when in Winston-Salem, NC »

Our family came to visit Old Salem for a couple of days. We had a discount coupon. Great room and delicious breakfast. Convenient to Old Salem and Hanes Mall. We will definitely come back when in Winston-Salem! Friendly staff and very clean!

    « Pefect place »

Nice place to lay my head between tennis matches throughout the city. Many teammates enjoyed the same hotel. Convenient location. Enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was friendly. Room was spacious. Would recommend.

    « No sleep tonight! »

I'm a single traveler and was given room 215 for my stay after a long drive. This isolated room is around a corner directly behind the elevators and next to the washer/dryer. There is a big conference here so the elevators are very busy and loud even after 11:00 and someone is doing laundry. When I called down to complain the person at the desk offered to give me the corporate number. Unfortunately it was too late and too costly to pack up and move. For the price I expected to at least get some sleep before another day of driving. Never again Best Western. Oh and not to mention the bathroom could use a little attention!

This hotel was updated not that long ago, but it has fallen into a state of grimy grossness. It just looks really poorly taken care of / cleaned. I paid extra to stay in a room with a "jetted tub," but the tub itself had these bizarre shell-looking shelves that jutted out in weird places. Ultimately, I didn't even make use of the feature and felt dumb for having fallen for the more expensive option. The elevator buttons rarely lit up, so it was never clear whether you were going where you thought you were going. The bed is rock hard, and the air conditioner never reached the temperature I set for it. Perhaps the biggest negative of my stay was the very thin door and walls; I heard it every time someone opened or closed a door on our floor, all night long, and consequently got a very poor night's sleep. Definitely do not recommend this hotel, which is sad because the location is convenient and the eating options nearby are terrific.

    « Enjoyed my stay! »

The employees were very nice! The room and the hotel itself was clean and updated. Comfy beds and nice linens. I stayed while visiting family. The coffee was excellent and available 24 hours a day. Breakfast varied every two days which was nice since I was there six nights. The only problem I had was my plan to sunbath in the mornings but the sun didn't make it to the mini pool til afternoon when it was too hot! Lol! I will definitely stay here on my next trip!

« Awesome place to stay »

I love best western hotels and this one was no different. Everyone was friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. I slept better here then at home. Thanks best western for another great stay and a comfortable nights rest. The breakfast is also awesome biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles, bacon and other great food choices.

    « welcoming »

simply enjoyed it. food , room, the employees . all of it. i would most definitely come back, and recommend anyone to stay there.they impressed me. the employees make it a point to speak to you . very friendly. room was very clean. food was very good. they made sure they kept it full, we didn't run out of anything. kept the area clean as well. i enjoyed it .

« one of the best BW i've stayed »

nice and friendly staff. This is one of the best Best western hotels i have stayed. This will be my second stay here, the first time was at short notice of a few hours and we still got a nice room to stay.

« Very good mini vacation »

My experience was great. I have been at this location hotel about 4 times now. I do not go anywhere but this location. But seems like some guest do not like people and they are not friendly so it makes you feel as though you are not welcome. But overall it hotel staff is good. We had a little mini vacation and a lot of us came so it was kind of a lot of people and some people felt unwanted because they were having a good time. Not loud or anything but just had a good time and some people complained which was their business but it was not bad to complain about. People just enjoying themselves, each other and their lives.

    « Excellent customer service »

This hotel has a wonderful, caring staff and excellent sleeping rooms at good rate. I travel around the state for business, and this is by far, one of the nicest and cleanest in the Best Western family. The staff here is what sets it apart -- front desk staff greats you by name and sees to your needs. The sales staff, should you need meeting space, is beyond helpful and accomodating.

« Poorly Trained Front Desk. »

Breakfast was minimally adequate Items were allowed to deplete. Had to get front desk to investigate and remedy. Hot selections were only lukewarm. Biggest complaint was when checking out the clerk ended up putting TWO holds on my debit card. I paid cash because my card balance was a little low. Luckily I had enough od a balance to cover.

« Clean rooms. Friendly staff especially Stephanie »

The breakfast food is not that good. Eggs are strange consistency and bacon and sausage taste terrible. Kept asking attendant about bananas but we were there for a week and they never had them. Need more variety in the yogurts. Also, Parking is scarce. Had to park on side of drive some days because everything was full.

« Great hotel. Huge room. »

This is a great hotel. Huge rooms. Great location. Next to Hanes Mall. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Very clean. Polite staff. Good parking. Staff was very polite and helpful. Hotel was in a good area.

    « Hoped for more... »

The room was large enough. The carpet was dirty in the room, especially by the bathroom. The pool was small, was crowded at the time I was there. Staff was nice, was located by a lot of places to eat, some shopping. Had free breakfast in the morning, was a decent set up.

« Good stay but town soso »

Hotel has nice rooms and decent breakfast. It is located near a nice shopping center. Personnel is very friendly. As in many hotels like this one the cutlery used for breakfast is horrible. It's made of very weak plastic and totally worthless if you want to cut anything. Trying to get anything on your fork is an exercise that is prone to fail. Traveling to downtown will take about 10 minutes. The town itself we found disappointing. Facades look OK but overall impression is shabby. Old Salem is nice but nothing special.

« Very clean hotel with polite staff »

Pros - This is a very clean hotel. The staff is very polite. Cons - The room was not dark enough for me. I like to sleep in a dark room. Could not stay for breakfast...The coffee is not brewed fresh it is a push button machine. There were zero gluten free options except for the fruit which was old and bruised.

    « I enjoyed my stay. »

For an inexpensive hotel my experience was great. My room was very good, and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location near the Hanes Mall was convenient. I felt very welcome during my business stay in Winston-Salem.

    « Wonderful stay »

Staff were very pleasant and friendly, even excited to welcome me into their building. My stay was very nice and quiet. The room was set up very nice and away from the stairs and elevator. I had a restful and peaceful time there. The breakfast was actually very nice. Nice selection to choose from. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Location was great. I was able to get to the mall and plenty of place to eat and just relax.

« Great hotel for the price »

This is the second time we stayed here. It I nothing fancy but has been remodeled within the last three years or so. It is clean and the staff is friendly. All we did was sleep here and eat breakfast so we did not need anything fancy. I would stay here again.

    « Quick Trip »

Only stayed one night but the accommodations were very good. Clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Good shopping at the mall right across the street. Substantial free breakfast which included waffles, biscuits, eggs, sausage, and the usual continental breakfast fare.

« Good place to stay »

We had car trouble and not a great day before we checked in and our hotel experience certainly improved the day. Called the hotel from the car repair place and the staff did all the paper work and were totally ready for us when we walked in the door. Staff were very welcoming. They even gave us a little "welcome gift". Nice touch.

« Good room, but no water in the shower »

We only stayed there one night. Checked in late because of a delayed flight, but that wasn't a problem. The breakfast wasn't anything special; totally average, but at least complimentary. The rooms were big and quiet, but in room 219 the shower didn't work. Immediately, at check-out the lady gave us a discount. Very helpful staff.

« Really Bad Experience at this Hotel »

I am really disappointed that I stayed at this hotel. Quite frankly, I was shocked that the hotel was in this condition given that the area has a major furniture trade show each spring and fall of the year. My room was absolutely horrible. The bed was not facing the television. I had to drag the chair from the far wall to get close enough to watch television. I was cold. The room did not have adequate blankets or bed coverings. (Remember, I am balled in a knot to watch what I could of the television since I couldn't relax from the comfort of the bed.) More, the room was slam next to a washer and dryer where people washed their clothes throughout the night! The pipes were making a loud banging noise in the walls, the washer was loud, the dryer was loud! This was absolutely ridiculous! The room did not have adequate lighting. When I walked into the room for the first time, the light socket pushed into a hollow hole into the lights in the entry. A hold on the left of that socket was there though. I had to fumble in the dark to find a lamp. When I finally got fed up with the washer/dryer I had to call the front desk screaming. She eventually put a sign on the washer to stop the racket. Did I remember to say how ridiculous this was? What an absolute joke. I needed to get up at 5:30 am to make my 7:00 am shuttle. Needless to say I was exhausted. It was beyond rest! I paid money for nothing. I simply could not get my peace of mind.

    « Awesome Place »

This place was great they were curtious and friendly and helpful. Check in was very easy I did it online through trip advisor. We were in and out so I cant tell you much about the amenitites. Dont go to the TGI Fridays it was terrible, we had bad service, and it felt like we were bothing her social life.

« Friendly staff and clean rooms »

The hotel is nice but if you are in this area do not expect to be able to walk any where, you will need a car to get around. The complementary breakfast is nice in the morning but the use disposable plates, glasses,,, which is not very green....

« Friendly staff and great service »

My first stay last year was upon recommendation by one who had stayed here before. This April visit was based on prior experience. The king sized bed was very comfortable. I think I will always request a room on the top floor as it was very quiet both nights of my stay.

« Great Place on the Way Through »

Traveling through North Carolina on the way to a family reunion. This was a great stopping place on our long drive. Staff very friendly, room clean and beds comfortable! Varied selection of breakfast items and lots of tables.

« Great room and excellent location »

The service in general was excellent and the room was clean and confortable. However, during my 16-day stay in the hotel I found breakfast extremely poor and monotonous. A healthier and more varied breakfast would improve the hotel's rating.

    « Very Friendly Staff »

I have stayed at this Best Western many times and I can honestly say that the staff has been very consistent with their friendly smiling faces and their promptness to any concerns with the property. I will continue to recommend this property to all my friends and family.

« No Remote and Bland Breakfast »

Tried 4 times to get a remote that worked and never did. Front desk said manager would contact me. Never did. Water in shower was tepid at best. Not hot enough for a good shower. Breakfast was bland. Eggs had no flavor, sausage looked gross, and waffles/syrup was bland.

    « very good »

I enjoyed my stay was very good the hotel was close to everything like food and shopping the bed was comfortable and had lots of pillows the food was good it was nice and quiet to have been on a main street.

« Really nice hotel BUT »

really liked the hotel, very clean, nice breakfast and overall great, wanted to rate it highly but---Someone stole my GPS from my vehicle Saturday night between 7:30 pm & 8:30 pm. I told the front desk and she said she would contact the manager and the manager would give me a call that night and that cameras should show something, no call. I talked to a different lady at the front desk Sunday morning and explained everything. She took down all my information, cell number and email and said the manger would definitely contact me that day and that that area is definitely covered by cameras and would show something , no contact. I called the hotel on Wednesday morning and talked to a different lady that said the manager has been out of town but was now in but had just stepped out for a moment. She said that when he returned, she would hand it to him personally and he would definitely give me a call, no call! I then called at noon on Thursday and talked to another lady and she said that the manager was out of town and was only there for about ten minutes. She said he should be back by 4:00 and asked me to call back then! Hence the bad review!

« Some issues with room set up »

Hotel is not bad but found the air conditioning heating system blew air in your face when sitting at the desk. Also, desk chair was touching bed when sitting at desk so no one could get by. Other than these issues the hotel was fine. Located on pretty busy street --if you wanted to walk anywhere, best to go out the back of the hotel to a quiet street to get to mall or other nearby restaurants--we went to a good one called the Carriage House--5 minutes walk away.

    « very surprised! »

Hotel was very, very clean. Staff was great. Breakfast was good, plenty of options. The room itself was very small. It was close to everything and the beds were comfortable. Good value for the money!!!!!

    « nice stay, 11mar2016 »

when we arrived the lobby smell good and the agent was very welcoming, our rooms were clean and smell good. the only issue we had was the parking lot. The parking space in the front of the hotel was very small and the view not so much.

    « Leisurely trip »

Great hotel..great staff..clean!!!! Nice décor!! Parking is a bit messy due to lot renovation. Close proximity to mall, hospital and other shops and food places. 1st time at a best western and I will be returning and recommend this hotel at the Winston salem location to other travelers. I hope all best western hotels are as clean, properly staffed.

    « Very Nice Room »

Room had Ants. Toilet is very small and plastic seat leaves much to be desired. Otherwise great place. It says here that the review much have at least 200 character so I am just wasting you time with this to meet some meat heads requirement.

« Good value hotel for the money »

This was a good, clean hotel with basic amenities. The front desk service was good. Breakfast was included and it offered good basic choices. The hotel is located near major thoroughfares, making it easy to get to other places within the city easily. Overall this hotel offered good value for the price.

    « Always A Wonderful Experience »

I discovered this property in the summer of 2015. From that first day until now my experience there has been wonderful. The staff is always friendly and gives superior customer service. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is better than Courtyard By Marriott or Hilton Garden which with both of those you have to pay and quality of food is never good. With this property the breakfast is free and the quality is outstanding. This is a great location as it is close to the Hanes Mall and hospital is across the road.

    « Surgery Visit »

The room was laid out extremely odd, and the bathroom was beyond small. We couldn't watch TV if we were in the bed. Breakfast was good, the are where you fix you your food was just kind of small as well.

« Review of Best Western »

The Best Western was very nice. Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel was in a good location surrounding the mall and restaurants very near. My stay at Best Western was great. Continental breakfast was fantastic.

« good stay, but refresh Breakfast items please »

Overall a very good visit. Room was fine. The bathtub pull for the shower was broken, took a while to get on and then would not shut off -- left a constant leak. Breakfast until 10 on Saturday, we showed at 9:20. Breakfast items were not refreshed the entire time, we waited until about 9:50. Every single item in buffet was empty. Front desk was notified, she just said that yes the lady refreshes it - but she did not.

    « In and out »

I went in to book and the lobby was full of a sports team stretching and rolling around on balls all over the ground in the area where you come in to book your stay. It was very unprofessional. I run sports teams and this would not be happening with any of my teams. I was going to give it a shot and ask for a room away from the team but when I came back and waited and no help arrived for a while I left. I booked a room at double tree university for only a few dollars more and wow I'm glad I did. This place is cheap so I think it's the go to for teams playing in the area. Just so you know.

    « Great location »

Clean rooms, good service, excellent location, near hospitals and Hanes mall. There was nothing negative about our stay. It is your basic chain hotel with very good management and standards. This hotel does not front on I 40. There is very little noise.

« Your front desk staff is exceptionally attentive »

I want to point out that my husband and I stayed there back in August when we brought our son to college. The man at the desk was outstanding (he worked this position as a second job) and had fabulous "people skills" and was exceptionally polite and accommodating. I wish I could remember his name but I cited his great work back then. And then this time (last week), my husband visited our son and he came down with a bad case of flu. The woman (wish I could remember her name) personally checked for me to make sure he was safe and ok because he was not answering his phone and even knocked on his door to be sure. This was so comforting because he is a diabetic and I was worried he could have gone into shock. This was Super Bowl Sunday. Although your hotel is a bit older, the staff makes up for that. Thank you for having such good people who care so much.

    « A lot for the money »

We did enjoy our stay here and it offers a lot compared with other hotels in this price range. There are two queen beds instead of full size and it was very modern and clean. The room was a decent size (we had two adults and two teenage boys) and the bathroom shower was good. The breakfast included a good variety including eggs, meats, waffles, fruit, yogurt, pasteries and cereal. Of course coffee and juices were available. It is also close to everything but we liked that it was not sitting right on the main road so it was a little quieter. We would stay here again when we are back in this area.

« Good break but had to wrestle for it »

Hotel was full - State wrestling meet, but the food was plentiful at breakfast, good food, Pleasant Staff, quiet rooms, Is labeled a non smoking hotel, but it took three complaints over two nights to get the issue addressed, Clean rooms, property showing its age - beat corners, low ceilings, older tubs, but carpet in good condition, Sinks out side of tub/shower room

    « Good stay »

Good stay, nice service, good price, continental breakfast not so good. Right off the freeway/highway so convenient to locate. Overall nice place to stay. Would recommend to others. Very clean,no restaurant.

    « Clean, Comfortable »

Just used it for a one night staycation. Newly redone property. It was clean and comfy, and the price was right. Would recommend. Good staff as well. We had booked a king bed room on, but were called within 5 minutes that they only had 2 queen room available. It didn't matter to us but appreciated the heads up.

« Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff, Good Location »

The hotel was easy to find and located right by Hanes Mall. It was a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was very clean and as described in the pictures and description that I saw on

« Good for a couple of week nights »

We had to stay there with my family for a week because of a business/leisure trip. During weekdays it is not Too bad but in the weekend it Was a nightmare because a 'team' of something i have no idea of, banged doors And yelled to 4am. More over, I Know it May be the hotel policy, but I had to pay the full rate for a check out At 3pm instead of the standard 11am. I think I will try something else when i will go back to winston Salem.

« Good location, clean rooms, helpful staff. »

very close to many restaurants as well as the interstate highway. Clean, recently updated. Our grandson was playing in a soccer event nearby, and it was within a short drive to the complex. The only issue we had was a leaky toilet, which we did bring to the attention of the front desk.

    « Best Western Plus »

This is a nice hotel. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable and attractive. The heating system was efficient and quiet. The breakfast was very good. Convenient to shopping. I would certainly stay here again.

« Well-appointed decor, comfortable beds, free breakfast and economical rates, too! »

Our first stay at Best Western Plus Hanes Mall, Winston-Salem, NC was very pleaant in so many ways: easy access into parking; very pleasant, knowledgeable staff; good quality and variety of breakfast foods; well-appointed decor and very comfortable beds: and, available information on a large variety of restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and numerous visitor activities and local events/attractions. Plus, it's quite near the large Hanes Shopping Mall for any last minute purchases needed.

    « A great stay »

Easy access, great value foe the money.clean and friendly staff. The room wclean and roomy. The breakfast ws outstanding. The locationwas great for shopping or fun activites. It provided a peaciful nights after many busy activites. The location to the interstate made it an ideal choice.Highly reconmend for traveling or fun.

    « Christmas visit »

We were overflow guests at my sons house over Christmas holiday...convenient location close to interstate, quiet clean updated. We have stayed here on previous occasions and have ever been disappointed.

    « Better than expected »

My daughter and I spent one night here. Check-in was fast and the room was comfortable and clean. The beds here were really comfy. The complimentary breakfast was okay. My only complaint would be the coffee.

    « Good for price »

The rooms were newly renovated. And everything except the bathroom looked brand new. The sink is in the room but not in the bathroom which was really weird and I wasn't a fan, but other than that it was a nice clean hotel very conveniently located to a lot of things.

    « Short stay in WInston-Salem »

Overnight trip to see a show in Winston-Salem. Staff is great, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, nothing extraordinary, but very nice for the price. A hot breakfast was included and it was good.

    « Great Location »

This is a great location for convenient shopping and lots of restaurants that are near. Located near hospitals if visiting and near all major highways for ease of travel. I have stayed at this location several times and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

« Good, basic, but bright »

Good, basic, clean, consistent quality from Best Western -- that's what I expected, that's what I got. One gripe -- light from the hallway 'leaked' around and under the door frame into the room. I put a towel on the floor to cover that gap, but the leakage on the sides and top of door was still so much that it was almost like having a light on in the room.

    « relaxing weekend »

booked for two nights.staff was very friendly had no trouble checking in easy and fast. located close to everything. breakfast was great. very reasonable price for the room. nice and clean room. would recomend this to others

    « Nice comfortable accomodations »

We were visiting family and needed a comfortable place to crash at night. Check in was easy. Parking is a little bit of a challenge because it is up a hill. With luggage it's a little difficult. The room was very clean and modern. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The full breakfast was good but there was a large convention there so finding a place to sit was difficult. One morning we were having breakfast and 2 people wanted to share our little table with us. We just got up and let them have the table. It was either that or look like a snob. The staff kept up with the supply of food. Being right beside Hanes Mall is a nice plus. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

  • 1
    « Unbelievable »

We booked two nights here. Stayed the first night then went out for the day, helping a friend move. When we got back to the room, our first thoughts were for a hot shower before we laid down to rest. My wife went first only to find that while we were out, the hotel maintenance people had removed the whole mechanism for the shower and left it laying on the floor. We had no operable shower.

« Nice place to stay for short stay »

Staff was friendly and hotel is conveniently located to a lot of places. Breakfast provided was basic, but did the trick. Would have given 5 stars, but Wifi was spotty and the room could have been slightly cleaner. (Carpet stains, bed skirt stain and just a few areas missed in the bathroom.) Would stay again though for the price!

    « Decent stay »

I stayed here because I had a doctors appointment at Wake Forest and I was from out of town. The motel offered the best rates and the best review is why I stayed here. Although it is not the closest to Wake Forest. Very clean rooms, internet worked great and overall a decent stay.

« Very Pleasant Business trip »

The room was clean, shiny clean. The bed was fresh, plenty of pillows and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels available. The coffee was great, went back for a second cup for breakfast. My group also said the coffee was exceptional.

    « Very nice hotel. »

The rooms were very clean, nice and quite. Love the modern look. Was very close to Wake Forest Hospital. We will stay there again. The beds were very comfortable. Didnt get to eat breakfast because we had to leave early for doctor appointment.

    « Clean new hotel »

We stayed here while visiting our son at Wake Forest. It was a 10 minute drive away so very convenient. The room was quiet, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The free breakfast includes hot items like eggs and sausages and fresh waffles. Hotel was new and very clean. Highly recommend!

« Great Place for a needed stop over »

We were headed to Washington, DC, and had gotten a late start. I was looking for somewhere we could stop that was convenient to the interstate, clean, comfortable, safe and reasonably priced. This property met, and exceeded, all my requirements. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was very good. The only thing I didn't like was that we were only staying one night. :)

« Best hotel in Winston Salem- New, Clean , Price »

This is the new BW décor with a contemporary look. Clean, fresh, and outstanding beds. The breakfast (with hot and cold items) was very good. The manager Mr. Vick Patel knows how to run a guest friendly and smooth operation. Best hotel value in the city.

    « Best Western PLUS »

If you haven't tried Best Western PLUS, please do so! It was a pleasant surprise. The front desk clerks were friendly. For an older hotel, it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast bar in the morning was well stocked and fresh. I would go back. Many thanks!

« emergency trip to NC »

I had an emergency trip to NC as my daughter was rushed to the hospital which is located across from this Best Western in Winston-Salem NC.. The room was wonderful, the bed very comfortable, and the floor was very quite. The staff was very polite and I was not sure if I was staying another night, they told me just let them know.... when I decided to do so, they were great and offered me the hospital rate... the only disappointment was in breakfast....typical continental. The parking lot is small and hard to park,

  • 3
    « It's okay, but... »

If you need a fresh cup of brewed coffee in the morning, don't stay here. The coffee comes from some disgusting mix out of a machine and is horrible. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is clean. The bathrooms are super cramped, and at least the narrow vanity is not in with the shower. Winston-Salem is a great area to visit and explore, and this hotel is easily accessible from the highways. Also, Starbucks is just a hop and a skip away for that real cup of coffee, but factor that into your cost of staying there!

    « Happy with Choice »

This was a very nice motel. The staff is friendly. Check in and out was fast. The rooms were clean and supplies were there for you. Some may not like the small rooms, but hey, some need to remember it's a motel not a condo. Had a continental breakfast which was fine for us and our 2 Grandkids. We were just passing through for one night, but would recommend this motel to anyone.

« Good value for the price »

The desk personnel were, without exception, wonderfully helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was better than most others in the same price range, by far. Only criticisms - the plumbing in the bathroom could have been more securely attached to the wall, and the water pressure in the toilet seemed way too low. And someone did a slapdash job of painting the inside of the bathroom door.

    « Furniture Market Stay »

Clean rooms, nice breakfast, some of the best front desk personnel I have experienced in awhile. Polite and went above and beyond when I had a dead battery on my rental car. Due to a last minute personnel cancellation, I had a king room for the first night and then had to change to a two queen room for the balance of my stay. They were very helpful.

« Decent place for last minute and they found me a room when I called. »

The location is pretty good with plenty of mall level restaurants nearby. For a business meeting, they recommended a local restaurant Bleu and it was perfect for the occasion. Staff was personable, lobby well maintained and room was clean with updating at least with in the last couple years. Lobby had a double sided fireplace and was a nice meeting point with my business contact.

« Not my usual Best western »

I was not greeted or treated as a Platinum member. The Coffee was not Bestwestern Quality! Very...very...weak! The rooms where very clean. The staff was nice. I'm not sure if they follow the rewards program.

    « Pleasant surprise »

Have never stayed at a best western, but was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. My only complaints would be that I had to leave the fan on in the bathroom because there was music playing when we were trying to go to sleep from 11pm until at least 12am. (maybe lobby music as we were right over the lobby). And the room was a little more compact than we were used to at other hotels. And the price was somewhat high, but I know it was the furniture market weekend so most places were at capacity (hence higher rates). Other than those things it was perfect.

    « Cheaper for a Reason »

This room was one of the cheaper in the area. We appreciated a clean room and friendly service. The breakfast provided a real meal and they have hot - fresh coffee all day from a keurig type machine. We were not pleased that the wi-fi would not work on the 5th floor, our toilet banged the wall whenever someone got off it, the shower sounded like a jack hammer as it was turned off (as did the neighbors early in the morning).

« great hotel, fantastic location »

This hotel was super easy to find, very close to the mall and hospital. The decor was updated and modern. The rooms were very nice with Ref and micro. Will definitely stay here again when in the Winston area

    « Short stay »

We arrived late on a Friday night and left the next day but the service was terrific and I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was excellent! The decor was trendy and the seating in the lobby / breakfast area was very comfortable.

    « A fairly new hotel? »

Needed a place to sleep while in town for a school activity. The reviews say the hotel is "fairly new". Actually it is an old place that was remodeled. It is represented accurately in the pictures with small The room we were in was a king non smoking, it was fairly clean and very small. The closet looked as if someone was still working on it. The door to the closet was stuck and had to be forcefully opened. The pictures on the website are a fairly good representation of what the hotel looks like, from a distance. Small details are easy to miss in the pictures. Only a little over a year since the remodel, it is not wearing well. I requested a corner room when I booked, and was given a room in the middle of the third floor hallway. I even went down and asked the attendant to change us and she said she couldn't. The parking is inadequate to say the least. After returning from dinner a little after ten, we had to park in the way back parking lot. It was raining and a considerable walk from where we parked. Our reason to be there required us to be up and gone by 6:25, and although there was coffee, breakfast doesn't start till 7. I was lucky enough to get a half frozen bagel before leaving. I would expect more for the price than what I got. Other members of our group stayed At a sleep inn for almost half of what we paid and were pleased with their experience. A tip to owners and management would be to maintain the property and try to meet the requests of your guests. Next trip, we'll be staying somewhere else.

    « Great »

We stayed here for 4 nights and have absolutely no complaints. Then breakfast was large, coffee abundant , and a staff full of Southern Hospitality!!!! I hope we get to come back this way soon. Ladies, the mall is right behind the hotel. You could easily walk back and forth. (Sorry guys??)

« Best Western Hotel at Haynes Mall, Winston Salem, NC »

A fairly new hotel which was clean and very easy to access. No frills, just a clean, comfortable hotel with a good mattress, nice TV, internet , and a good breakfast. I believe this hotel provides good value for the money.

« Cockroach in my bed! »

We stopped at the Winston Salem Best Western as an overnight stopping point on our way from Ohio to Myrtle Beach, on Sunday night, September 27th. In the middle of the night, I felt something crawling on my legs, and jumped out of my bed and a large bug fell to the floor and scurried away. At that point, we didn't get a good look at what it was. My husband and I looked for it, but couldn't find it, so I tried to go back to sleep. About an hour later, I felt it again, and this time we could see it was a large cockroach. My husband killed it, but unfortunately, I was not able to fall back asleep. The next morning at the continental breakfast, I stopped by the front and told the woman at the desk what had happened and she brushed it off, saying it was most likely a waterbug, as they get them in the hotel when it rains. We went back to the room and looked at pictures of waterbugs vs cockroaches on google, and it was definitely a cockroach. When we checked out of the hotel, we brought the dead cockroach in a cup down to show the employee and she was apologetic and said she wished she could refund our night, but since we booked our stay via, she was unable to. I hate to write negative Trip Advisor reviews, but I have to for this Best Western. It was a disturbing experience for me to awaken to a cockroach crawling all over me, and I have had trouble sleeping every night since then. I think a situation like this is a great opportunity for a company to go above and beyond in making the situation right for the customer. I understand that they may have a refund policy with, but I'm surprised they didn't offer us a voucher for a night at another Best Western.

« Always an excellent stay. »

I travel for business often and the team at this Best Western are wonderful, Front desk clerks are all friendly and most even know me by name. Pam even saved the day when on short notice I needed to host 20 people for a meeting, they booked the rooms and even set up the meeting room with a few hours notice. Rooms are clean, modern with free WIFI.

    « A very pleasant stay »

This was a very restful, quiet hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptionally good and had many choices. The hotel was decorated very modern - not my taste-, but the look was very modern and classy. We would highly recommend this hotel and any other Best Westerns where we have stayed.
