« Excellent Hotel and Training Centre »

Highly recommended for training and conference for small groups. Clean and Quiet. Parking can be a slight issue as it is in Downtown, however, their service and hospitality are incomparable to any other hotel I've been to.

« For the price it works »

    - Great location - Rooms are below average and dated - lobby and restaurant (Breakfast) are nice - Staff didnt seem to really care for example "Wheres a good place or so to grab a beer".... "The hotel bar".. "ok where else?" ... "Theres some bars around here i think" ... Gee thanks - Also I was there during a white out party and it was crazy outside until 11pm ish. I had a horrible and long day so I called for a different rom that didnt face the party and was told afew times to be patient. I asked when it would end and they didnt know but "Sir we dont control outside"... All I wanted was to switch to a room (at 10pm) that didnt sound like a rave Overall good for the price I paid

« Nice lobby but not so much the rooms »

The staff were helpful, the rooms a bit out dated in comparison to the lobby - I thought the rooms would have been as updated but instead of purchasing new doors, they painted over the old ones and some places had chipped paint giving it an out of date feeling plus I ran out of hot water in the shower within the first few minutes

    « Great suprise. »

Not staying at this hotel before I was pleasantly surprised by having a great room and excellent service. From check-in to check-out I had great service. Next conference I attend in the area I'm staying here.

« Nice play to stay »

Really enjoyed the stay at BW. Location to attend an event at RBC convention is very good. And the walkways to go at the mall or Jets game are just a brilliant idea. LOVED IT. Would highly reccomend this place.

    « Ok. »

Not the ?best? Best Western we have stayed at. It's downtown and close to the convention centre and MTS Place. The breakfast is ok. There are two restaurants. I only ate at one. The service was good as there was no one there. The food was terrible. I had the stir fry. There are restaurants nearby. There is no pool and no view to speak of. Next time we will stay at the Pembina Best Western and then just stay one night at the Best Western Downtown Winnipeg.

« NO REFUND OR REBOOK IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT »

BEWARE. Due to plane problems I could not get here. They not only refused a cancellation or refund, they would not allow me to rebook at a later date which is what I really wanted. I will avoid BW from now on. There are plenty of hotels in the area that will allow you to rebook. What a terrible way to treat customers.

    « Great stay »

Great stay, fast check in/out. Walking distance to the MTS centre where our entertainment was. The breakfast was nice, vegetarian options including soy milk, roasted potatoes with green peppers and spinach eggs.

« Good, But Wouldn't Stay There Alone nor with Children »

Best Western Plus Downtown Winnipeg was a clean and comfortable stay, and a continental breakfast was included. Had it been a bit warmer, we would have walked to all of our activities, which included shopping, eating out, Ice Castles & The Canadian Museum for Human Rights at The Forks. I felt that parking was a bit pricey ~ $25 for two nights. Because it was so cold, we ended up driving to The Forks, and paying for parking there, too. We stayed in a room with two queen beds. It was a bit small and a bit dated, but it was clean, and included the usuals: Wi-Fi, fridge, & coffee maker. We struggled to control the room temperature and ended up running the air conditioner through both nights so that we could sleep. At one point, I had walked to the Starbucks (1/2 block ~ Yay!) for a drink alone. When I returned, a guy in the doorway greeted me with, ?Want to buy some pot, girl?? Uhmmm... no. Overall, our stay was fine, and the price was right. Had I been traveling alone or with children, I would not have felt totally safe in this location. Attached is a view from our room. One of two parking lots is in view.

« Best hotel for families »

From the beginning we were greeted by amazingly friendly staff and our one bedroom suite was huge and more than enough room for our family of six! (Very hard to find that kind of room in other hotels) Play area was fantastic and even when busy never had a hard time finding somewhere to sit. Will definitely be back for our next staycation !

    5
    « Over the top! »

Missed the buffet as we thought it ended at 11 am on Sunday. As we were discussing leaving the hotel to eat elsewhere, hotel person overheard the conversation...and offered to buy us breakfast at BW. We were blown away and took him up on the offer. The buffet was put away, so we ordered off the menu. What a great end to our free night BW Rewards stay. Great work!

« Very nice hotel and an excellent room! »

Wonderful stay and great service right from check-in to check-out!! Housekeeping did an excellent job in our room! We were very pleased on how clean the room and bathroom was! Great location, close walking distance to the MTS centre for the Jets game! We definitely look forward to staying at Best Western again!

    « LOVED IT »

Excellent place to stay. The rooms are super clean. Staff were awesome. The housekeepers gave me extra towels which was nice. I also loved the note on the night stand. Will definitely be coming back here.

    « Great Hotel »

This hotel has great location downtown. Check in and check out was a breeze. The room was clean especially the bathroom and the decor was pleasant but a bit dated. Having a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel was a big plus. I would certainly stay here again.

    5
    « Great simple stay »

Decent hotel, centrally located. My clients found parking a frustration but foe the overnight guest, friendly, affordable, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and had a hot coffee waiting at my seat before I got there... nice convenience

    « Downtown Winnipeg »

I usually stay at the Delta in downtown Winnipeg when I have to attend an event at the Convention Center but it was a large conference and the Delta was sold out. I asked my EA to book a place within walking distance and she booked the Best Western. My colleagues said to me "That's the old Charter House; I would stay there..." But I had no real choice. The outside of the building needs some upgrades but when I entered the lobby I found an open, neat, stylish, and welcoming front desk with very professional staff who had me registered and in my room within minutes. Great start. The room was not elegant but I didn't care about that. It was modern, clean, new, and comfortable. There was nice hand-written note by someone from housekeeping who offered to assist me in any way they could. I liked that note, thought I didn't require anything special during my stay. At night I ordered a meal from room service. The kitchen staff were professional and courteous and my meal arrive quickly. And it was good food. To be honest, I was a bit concerned about the possibility of noise at night, given reputation of downtown Winnipeg. And my room was beside he elevator. No problem. It was one of the quietest nights I've spent in hotel. And I've spent a lot of nights in hotels. So, the stay was very good and I would have no problem with staying there again. The Best Western downtown was a bit less expensive that surrounding hotels and if I have to go the Convention Center again, I will likely book the old Charter House.

    « Clean Hotel »

Stay at this hotel was good. Hotel was older but renovated. Location is great as it is 3 blocks from Bell/MTS Place. Friendly staff. We had a king suite and it was a little small compared to others we have stayed in, but it was nice and clean.. The hot, free breakfast, and the service in the restaurant was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Excellent value in downtown »

Great hotel. Stayed for New Years' Eve. Quiet, close to everything downtown. Staff were attentive and readily available. Two different restaurants to choose from. Even though it was New Years' Eve, we did not hear noise from other guests, and the hotel was full.

    « A Home Away From Home »

Great location for downtown business. The staff are wonderful. Always helpful and polite in every way. The rooms are well equipped, large and clean. It appears the hotel is well organized and managed. The hotel has had the same staff for years and this speaks well of their dedication to what they do and how they do it, and it reflects well on management's confidence in the staff's abilities and commitment to providing excellent service.

    « Great Staff »

I was travelling for business in November 2017. The rates at the hotel that I was working in were very high, so I shopped around and decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Downtown. It looks on the website and at first glance like the hotel has been recently upgraded. The location is excellent and very central to many sights, the hockey arena and very close to the convention centre. I took the shuttle from the airport to downtown. Convenient and included in the hotel rate. I had to wait approximately 20 minutes. This gave me a chance to grab a fast bite and a coffee. Check in was super fast and the hotel had defeathered my room as I had requested. The clerk gave great suggestions for food and other sightseeing opportunities. Very friendly and fast. On getting to my room, there was a cute towel animal on the bed to greet me. The room itself was accessible - I booked this in error. The room had two beds. On closer inspection, the bed with the cute towel animal looked a bit stained, so I did not use it at all. Housekeeping had left a note with the cleaners (??) name and phone number on it. The note stated to call if I needed anything. I thought this was very strange, it was also stained from sauce or grease from another guest. I was a bit unclear if it may have been left by someone outside of the hotel. I would recommend having notes like this professionally printed, and not hand written. My first impressions were not so good. The room had all of the standard bath amenities, loads of towels, microwave and small fridge. Very convenient for longer stays. Internet worked very well and the room was set up fairly well for working. Bed was comfy. Air unit did run through the night. Room in general looked clean on the surface. When you had a closer look at light fixtures, door frames and outlets, you can clearly see it was a very dirty room. I really did not want to touch anything. In the shower, the chair for the accessible guest needed a deep clean, you can see the layer of scum and you can feel it on your feet in the shower enclosure. Needs a good bleaching or something - maybe it's just old. The kicker was opening up the bath towel after my shower and finding loads of long thick black hair inside the towel. It wasn't just one or two pieces, but the entire towel was covered. When it isn't your own, it just leaves you with a feeling of ick. Getting up for my meeting in the AM, hotel lobby was a bit trashed. There was food on the floor of the elevator. I noted when I returned it was completely resolved. Hotel honoured a later check out. Staff at check out were highly professional and very friendly. Shuttle to the airport was excellent. My driver on the return to the airport was friendly and professional. I've already filled out the hotel survey, and the hotel manager was very responsive. I give the staff at this hotel top marks. They are responsive, professional, and friendly. The housekeeping needs work. It's a shame to see a hotel spending money on Reno's, and not maintaining the standards to keep it up.

« Excellent hotel close to Convention Centre »

Rooms were clean and functional, and staff were all very courteous and helpful. Very convenient 1 block walk to the Wpg Convention Centre and Bell MTS Arena. Good value for a downtown location. Was offered parking voucher at check-in which I did not require. Breakfasts in the cafe were good standard fare

« Located in the heart of Winnipeg »

Stayed here one night in a room close to the elevator. I never heard any noise from the elevator but could hear all the noise in the hallways from doors closing and people talking. There is a public paid parking lot right in front of this hotel. If staying for any length of time the parking can become pricey. I did have the breakfast in the morning in a nice restaurant style room with a buffet style menu. The food was good and the service was excellent as they offered to fill my coffee a few times even tho it was a self service breakfast bar. The room was a little on the smaller side but good enough for myself for the one night. I did notice a few homeless people around the front and even one inside the entrance. At 5am it did make me feel uncomfortable for my safety. Other than that very close to everything downtown and blocks front my morning appointment.

    « Good quick stay »

Really nice staff. Building and the rooms are old but well kept. Fitness Center was small but has more than just a treadmill. Starbucks is right across the parking lot too so I will probably stay again

    5
« Great stay at a great price »

Everything was good - the bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean and the temperature was adjustable, the hotel was quiet, the breakfast was good, the employees were friendly and helpful.

« A really good hotel in downtown Winnipeg »

Friendly helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good food at very reasonable prices in the restaurant. Good location. Close to museums and river park, legislative buildings, etc. Shuttle to and from airport. Excellent breakfast buffet with really good variety,

    « Very Satisfied »

I had a great stay! All my needs were taken care of including a free shuttle to and from the airport, as well as continental breakfast. I also needed something in my room and I got it within 5 minutes of asking. Overall, I had great service and would highly recommend.

    « Winnipeg stay »

We were in Winnipeg for a concert and this hotel is in a great spot. It is clean and friendly. Check in worked smooth and there is parking. Felt like a safe area and employees were knowledgeable. The dinner we had was very tasty and the breakfast was tasty and a self serve, the breakfast was included with the stay .

  • 5
« above average for cleanliness »

secure parking lot with a reasonable charge. Special breakfast served was the best I have had in any restaurant in a long time. fruit cups, eggs, potatoes were fresh & prepared perfectly. I had a large room which was outfitted with sofa & coffee table. Lots of room ( I used the iron & iron board for the first time in staying in hotel) there was no bathtub --but had a great shower. The price is cheap for its location

    4
    « A Short Walk to Everything »

This hotel is in a bit of a "sketchy" area, but is only a short walk to The Forks, which was our destination. The room was clean. The breakfast was "extra" which came as a surprise. Parking is available, which is a perk for downtown Winnipeg.

    3
« Good location , room is nice and clean , bathroom is small , service is ok , breakfast is poor menu. »

Need to improve more in service . Hospitality is not good . Hotel price is little high . Heat and AC is good . Good parking . Receptionist is good . Breakfast is awful for people who stay more than 03 nights .

    5
« Excellent staff and very good breakfast »

Everything at this hotel made me feel I was at home rather than at a hotel. Service is excellent. Morning hot breakfast that is included in the room rate, is really a good one. Front desk staff, cleaning staff are all very friendly.

    5
    « Great Downtown Hotel »

Easy to park, close to all amenities downtown and great staff Rooms were simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was clean and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Affordable room for business stay or if you want to explore downtown Winnipeg

    « Perfect as always! »

Can not get a better location in downtown or greater service. The staff felt like family and truly care about you and your stay! FREE breakfast was a plus this trip, hope still available next time. Good job

    1
    « Inacceptable party noise »

The hotel rents conference rooms as party location. In some rooms it is simply impossible to sleep if a party is going on. I have not experienced any comparable. I higly recommend to book an other hotel.

    5
« Great staff, excellent location »

Traveling for work and this location was perfectly central to walk everywhere from work to restaurants and close to all site seeing. 15 minutes to the forks and 5 minutes to the Bell MTS centre to catch a game! Staff are awesome and said hello every time I walked through the lobby asking how my stay was and offering great suggestions! Keep it up! A real diamond here

    5
« excellent family overnight stay »

Excellent visit as usual. Came to Winnipeg for the hockey game again, and location was perfect. Nice to park and walk to the mts centre. Lovely big king size bed. Only complaint was the pillows were a little too big..

    5
    « Great staff »

I loved the hotel as a whole, but the staff is amazing, everybody always with a smile in their face and trying to help you anytime you need it. Comfortable room, bed is great, quiet during the night and with lots of features for you to feel at home. Well located and with lots of restaurants and malls around. They have a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and vice-versa. I loved it!

« Great location for medical trip »

Went down for an eye appointment. Stayed in a king room. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Staff looked very professional and were friendly. Will stay again next visit to Winnipeg. Look forward to trying amenities next time.

    5
« Comfortable room and good location »

Very decent hotel, with big, clean rooms. Very quiet. We arrived very late at 3:00 AM because of a delayed flight. The front desk agent had pre-checked us in because we called him much earlier in the night saying that we would be arriving at that time. This was very much appreciated. Good breakfast, excellent location which allows you to walk everywhere. All in all, a pleasant stay.

    3
    « Great dollar value »

Hotel was clean, friendly staff close to everything downtown, easy access to highways. Staff never mentioned if there was free breakfast or not, would have like to know, there was a lot of people hanging around the outside of the hotel that I'm sure were not guest

    1
« Get what you pay for »

Look out for prostitutes at breakfast. When having breakfast with my mother in the hotel restaurant there were multiple, obvious, prostitutes in the restaurant. Hotel staff didn't seem to be bothered or surprised.

    4
    « location »

I stayed at the downtown Best Western in Winnipeg. The location of this hotel is very convenient for travelers. I stayed there for four nights, and rented a car for only two days to explore the outskirts. Most of downtown attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. And I believe the best way to feel the place is by walking.

    4
« Concert goers are noisy »

It was one really noisy night followed by restful nights. Everything else was great, but do look to see if there's a major concert in town, because people come back loud and drunk. 4 hours of noise. The rest of the stay was everything it should be.

    4
« Hard to get to »

A nice facility but awkward to get to if passing thru via trans cda Hwy. Also did not anticipate having to pay for parking. Did expect continental breakfast would be included in room rate. Otherwise a pleasant stopover

    5
    « Great Value »

Great location....great room....great value....I travel extensively and although this isn't the Fairmont its pretty darn close....the only issue I had was with the pillows...but that's just me as I like down pillows that aren't too fluffy and theirs were synthetic and very puffy which isn't my thing....

    4
« Great stay Downtown Winnipeg »

Centrally located this hotel is close to the Forks, MTS centre and all Winnipeg Attractions. A hot tub on location woud be a great addition. Staff friendly and kniooledgeablr. Taxi's are always available.

    3
    « Lipstick on a pig »

Recently renovated but still looks old. Fairly high prices hotel that definitely feels budget. Billed as a Plus property but there weren't any Plus perks offered to us during our visit. Window air conditioner was noisy and inefficient and the noise from the room above was disturbing.

  • 4
« Very nice and recently renovated »

This is a very nice hotel in downtown Winnipeg. It's been renovated inside and outside. There is a nice restaurant on site where we had breakfast for 3 days. Really really nice staff in the restaurant and very helpful.

    5
« very clean rooms and good staff »

Great place to stay, close to downtown , walking is easy. I stayed there of four nights this month and would stay again. Great restaurants.Good internet and wifi in room. Breakfast was not included but they gave you a bag of fruit and water bottle if you ask for it.

    5
    « WOW! »

Short but amazing stay! The staff where friendly and happy to point me in the right direction of everything to do and see. Breakfast buffet was great with all the fixings and the Rib Room Restaurant was an amazing experience, the server (Hector, I think) was great and made a normally dull evening dinner by myself an enjoyable one with his history of the city and the hotel and the food...order the seasame chicken spring rolls, I could have had those again and again and had to get the dipping sauce recipe before I left. Rooms are clean and updated and looks like the whole place had a recent Reno with painters finishing off outside. I will be back to this gem in downtown Winnipeg!!

    5
    « Very comfortable stay »

Centrally located, the BW Plus is very comfortable and remarkably quiet (we were on the fourth floor). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast a la carte was very good. The bed was excellent.

    4
    « Decent »

This hotel has been recently redone and is surprisingly nice. Staff was very helpful and kind. Room was big and clean. Good value for a downtown location. Will stay again. A convenient location to bus to Blue Bomber games and for Downtown events.

    5
« Excellent Location to Everything »

Everything is in walking distance - like less than 15 min to all the tourist site. There staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was clean. Two computers in the lobby for Internet access. Free shuttle service to and from the airport.

    5
    « great downtown location »

Hotel is newly renovated and is very convenient downtown location. Easy walk to Human Rights museum, legislature, Burton Cummings Theatre, MTS Centre, Restaurants, etc. Only downside is that this Best Western does not provide complimentary breakfast

    5
« Wonderful stay at Best Western Plus »

From the moment we got to the hotel we experienced a great service from very friendly staff To the moment we checked out. Rooms were very clean and great food at their restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place.

    5
« Great reasonable accomodations if you have an activity at the RBC Convention Center Winnigeg »

No issues, great staff. Went out of the way to help my specific requests with no hesitation. e.g. early check-in, storage at checkout of my suitcase for the day, printing of boarding pass on office computer when the public one ran out of ink, etc. Room was well equipped, no complaints. The only issue was that it rained during the 3 day stay and they could not coax the sun to come out :-).

    4
« Clean and modern but pricy »

Clean and modern downtown hotel but the cost is not justifieable. I stay at this hotel often and was givin a prefurred rate that was no longer honored on this stay. Very dissapointing considering the number of stays at a best western per year

  • 4
« Inexpensive hotel right downtown. Exceptional staff! »

The hotel is very well situated for sightseeing, visiting the Legislative buildings, shopping, restaurants and much more. The room is fairly large and the bed is comfy. There is also a chair and ottoman, a writing desk and chair as well as a mini fridge and microwave. Two downsides: 1) there is no bathtub only a shower and the bathroom is quite small. 2) twice as I was parking panhandlers approached me as I left the car to ask for money. Parking outside the hotel costs approximately $12.50/ day. Upside: the staff at the front desk. Can't say enough good things about them. Daniela at check in was incredible as were all the other desk staff. I was very impressed with the service and when I requested coffee it was immediately brought up. I travel a lot so to be impressed means the staff were exceptional.

    5
    « BW Downtown Winnipeg »

« Best Plus Western Downtown Winnipeg »

Partially plugged shower drain first morning was fixed quickly and cleanly. The room was not fancy but comfortable, carpets maybe a little worn. There was very little noise from within the hotel. Some clientele seemed a little rough.

« Group travel with large team »

The hotel staff were very accommodating to our team of 40 students. Meal room needs and meeting room needs were made possible on short notices. Truly positive experience. They were very cooperative with any requirements we had.

    « Group Travel »

I travel once a year to various provinces with a large group of students and am responsible for booking and overseeing the group. We've stayed at high end hotels in downtown Vancouver to motels in Moncton, NB. I can honestly say the service we received at the Best Western Plus was incomparable. Chris and Daniela were eager to accommodate any and all requests we had - the staff from front desk to security were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There were about 100 young people staying in the hotel during our stay - I'm pretty sure the rooms must have lead in the walls because you couldn't hear any noise once in your room. We had breakfast each morning - the group didn't have a complaint about the quality or quantity of food available (not an easy thing to accomplish when 80% of the group were young men between the ages of 16-25). Huge kuddos to Chris, Daniela and their team for making our stay such a great experience!

« Was nice but no hot water »

The room was clean, the parking lot was nice and close, and the hotel really is beautiful. I did like the 2:00 pm check in time but found it odd when checking in at 2:20 pm was told "I'll check to see if your room is ready". It was thankfully but if you have a 2:00pm check in the room should be ready. Didn't spend a lot of time in the room as we were busy doing whatever shopping we could. Went to shower the next day only to find out there was no hot water. Didn't wait to find out what the issue was either as I did have an 8 hr drive to complete that day as well. Honestly think when situations like this arise that some sort of discount on the room should be offered without having to ask and nothing was. Luckily I didn't have anything overly important to attend that day that would require a shower as I would probably be a little more upset over this. Parking was $12.50 for a day but not sure if that was for your whole duration or if that was the cost per day as I did only stay the one night. Hotel is in a good location if you're attending events at the Bell MTS Place or anywhere in that downtown area.

« Superb staff, great location, good value »

We like the Best Western chain as it promises good value for our vacation dollar. This one in downtown Winnipeg is conveniently located near the Manitoba Archives and the RBC Convention Centre. The hotel has a decent restaurant, is well-maintained, and has the best staff - they are so friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to and from the airport, and they ensured our room was quiet and scent-free due to allergies. The only drawback is there is no free breakfast but the rooms have fridges and there are small corner stores nearby to purchase fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal etc. And parking is an added expense at $12.50 per day. Even so, we will definitely choose this hotel the next time we stay in Winnipeg.

« Great Value in Downtown Winnipeg »

First of all an airport shuttle from an airport to a downtown hotel is quite rare and real bonus for staying at this hotel! (Thanks for the lift!) We stayed here for a weekend, taking in Jets and Bombers games - I'm a real sports fan! Thanks to our BW diamond status, we were upgrade to an executive room, providing views of downtown Winnipeg. The hotel is clean, with great service, and well located. It was close enough to enjoy meals in the Exchange district, The Forks, and take the indoor walk way to the Jets game! For a bit of a further jaunt, one can walk to the north end of city and enjoy some great bannock at the Feast Cafe and Bistro. One can enjoy picking up a pack of smokes and some chips in the VLT room, for your convenience! Overall a tremendous value for a clean, well located hotel, and I would definitely return!

    « Celebration of Life June 2017 »

The Charter House is a cherished memory of mine because my grandmother use to live across the street in Holiday Towers. We ate at the Rib Room and enjoyed a lot of ribs & drinks over the years. The BW Staff are amazing and accommodating. Daniela, Chris, Amanda and Martin I would like to thank mostly for taking care of me and my family during the Celebration of Life for my granny, The Don Mon. They went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure our requests were taken care of quickly. This location is perfect, just up Hargrave street you have Oscar's Deli (best pastrami on rye & corn beef hash) & Tavern United (amazing caesar drinks & wings) and of course the MTS Center where you have to see our Jets play (GO JETS GO). Broadway is just down the street about a 5 minute walk where you can find all kinds of food trucks to feed your hunger. The Manitoba Legislative Building is a 10 minute walk where the beautiful Gold Boy hangs out and just inside is the Grand Staircase guarded by 2 life size Bison made of sold bronze. Portage Ave is about a 10 minute walk where you can grab a bus to Polo Park Shopping Mall, Assiniboine Park & Zoo and Assiniboine Downs or head down to Main & Portage for more sightseeing. Even though my granny is gone, I have lots of family and friends in Winnipeg and will visit yearly. This will be stop #1 for a couple of nights to say hi and enjoy my stomping grounds again.

« Overall this is a nice place. But our room had some weird noises. But still great location! »

This is our second time staying here. We stayed last year and found it a nice, comfortable place. Fairly quiet, with large rooms and bathrooms with a nice bed. You cannot complain about the location, close to everything. Only issue this time was the strange sounds in our room, almost like their was constant thunder outside, at times making the room shake. We were only two rooms over from the elevators and were associating this noise to the doors opening/closing. It was odd. Slept with ear plugs and all was good. Air conditioners are a little noisy. But they worked perfectly. Super friendly staff and this place was clean. The rooms were newly renovated. On site parking was nice too. Would stay here again, but will stay away from the elevators this time.

The Charter House is a strong memory in my extended family. We were greeted as friends when we walked through the door and throughout our stay. I have no hesitation in recommending the Best Western in downtown Winnipeg to others.

    « Wonderful Stay »

My husband and I had a wedding in Winnipeg and since we had such a great stay the first time we stayed at The Best Western Downtown we decided to stay again. Upon arrival we were greeted with such a friendly young lady named CeCe, once we were in our room she went the extra mile and called us to make sure we were happy with our room, which we definitely were. Thank you Chris for our reservation and to the rest of the staff for another great stay.

« Best Western Plus Downtown Winnipeg »

Excellent location. A few blocks to the conference, a few blocks to the Canadian Musueum of Human Rights, a block from Stabucks 8). Staff was friendly and informative. Fire alarm went off at 3:47 am, but the exit was easy, and it didn't take long to get back to our rooms after the false alarm. The food in the restaurant was good, although the staff could have had at least another to handle the amount of people at the time. I'd return.

« Being treated special while away from home »

I have been staying at the B/W Plus Downtown for several years now for a week at a time on a monthly basis. I have always found the desk staff to be very welcoming and caring. They go out of their way to help you and are committed to providing the best service possible. The rooms are always clean and well appointed and nicely made-up each day. The location of the hotel is ideal for all business travel in Winnipeg. I have always been impressed by the quality and variety of the food at the hotel and find the cost of the food selections and beverages to be very reasonable and the best in the downtown area. The hospitality staff in Cafe Bella are great and make you feel like you are at home, which is important to me as a regular traveler. My last experience in the Rib Room was a cozy, private affair where I did have the great ribs, enjoyed wonderful service and was pleasantly surprised with the cost. I now have a group dinner planned there in the small private room adjacent to the dinning room.

Best experience I ever had. Environment and employees are really friendly to coworkers and to their guests. Cafe Bella and rib room have really good quality food and worth paying money for, service is really good.

« Best Western Downtown Winnipeg »

Had a great experience staying in this hotel while I was in Winnipeg on business. It is within walking distance to the Forks as well as to the offices where I was working. The staff were amazing / the restaurant and accommodation were very good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

« Made the trip easy and Pleasant »

Helpful, cheerful staff made everything easy. Our Networking evening went well and smoothly. We stayed late in the restaurant, but never felt pushed to get out. The food was really good and there was so much of it. I will host another Networking night here when needed.

    « Best staff here! »

Great location! Walking distance to the human rights museum, art gallery and the Forks. This hotel has been completely renovated. Rooms are nice. Staff are exemplary! Went over and above to accommodate us in every way. They were all friendly, helpful and courteous. Food was good and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend staying here!

« Stay away as far as possible from this hotel »

Stay away from this hotel as far as you can. Had stay there in January 2017 Big crowds of criminals around and in the hotel, in lobby some of them was trying to sell drugs to me and 0 reaction from stuff. Rooms in general is old and doesn't look very clean(probably because old carpets and old fabrics. Will never stay there again!

« Superb conference facilities, great rooms, good food. »

Booked a conference at BW Downtown and everything was top notch. The staff are friendly and attentive and gave us everything we needed. There are a number of great restaurants on site to choose from. The rooms are newly redone, very nice, clean and tidy. For downtown, the parking is very good. Highly recommended.

    « Great Sleep! »

The sleep at this hotel was amazing! I asked them what kind of pillows they use and they arranged to sell a couple of brand new pillows to me. I enjoyed my meal in the Rib Room Cafe that is in the hotel, the steak was to die for! It was a short walk to the MTS arena for the concert I was going to, and the front desk person working Daniell was perfect in giver the directions. I would also like to thank them for giving me a free ride the the VIA rail station after my stay. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

« Top #1 hotel in downtown Winnipeg »

We cannot say enough about this hotel that we stayed at in downtown Winnipeg. It was totally unexpected but we were totally blown away! Great price, beautiful place, awesome customer service, great food at "The rib room" and we were treated like royalty. For a meal that we would pay well over $100 for in our small town we paid half the price and enjoyed it just as much if not more! Very comfortable and quiet we give this hotel an A+++ I cannot say enough about it but I will share with others! Thank you for a wonderful weekend where memories will forever be remembered.

    « Accommodating & Clean »

What a pleasant surprise. I arrived late at this hotel and the front desk clerk that was on duty tall guy I think his name was Fabio was warm, welcoming, and quick to get us into our room. It was late at night, but to our surprise their restaurant was still open and made us one of the best nacho platters we've had. I must say that the housekeeping manager must run a tight ship, because I could find any dirt if I wanted to in my guest room. I was told at check in time that if I call to the hotel directly that I will get the cheapest price, well guess what.... I return in two weeks and have already booked in. Thank you best western winnipeg!

    « Amazing Staff! »

I stayed here for one night on a business trip to the city. On my way home I was waiting over an hour for a cab. Chris and his staff were exceptional trying to help me get one sooner and went out of their way to help me get to my destination. Thank you very much! The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I would stay here again.

    « Wonderful »

I always enjoy my stay at Best Western Plus, they are affordable and very comfortable to meeting all needs. I love the locations because they are anywhere you seem to need a hotel in a large city. Parking is never a problem and the menu in the restraunt is great.

The front desk was very helpful. The hotel itself is a little dated but very good value for the money. Small but adequate workout room. Decent location, close enough to the various skywalks in Winnipeg.

This hotel was perfect for us as we were attending a hockey game in downtown Winnipeg. The room was clean and comfortable and the housekeeper had even added a little animal made out of the towels along with a personal note of welcome - a very nice touch.

It is located in the downtown area and it is quite close to all the senic spots nearby. The twin bed room is really clean and big and beyond my expectation. It is worth every penny! The only demerit is the parking fee but if you can accept around 10.5 bucks per day then it is not a problem. ??????????????????????????????10.5??????????????????wifi????????????????????????????????????????????

« Best Western downtown Winnipeg »

I found that this Best Western was ideally located for visiting downtown Winnipeg and walking to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, The Forks Market, St. Boniface and many other points of interest. The service at the hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to help. It was my first visit to Winnipeg and the staff helped me with directions. It was so convenient to have a restaurant and lounge/bar on site. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff called shortly after I arrived to make sure that all was well with the room, and asked if I needed anything else.

    « Weekend in Winnipeg »

I had never been to Canada before so I decided to get away. I chose this hotel because it is downtown and close to so many things. I enjoyed my stay and will return. I cafe was nice and so was the staff. The bar was great and the bartender shared some things about Thunder Bay . That will be my next trip. I wish I could have made it to the Rib Room. I really wanted prime rib but they don't do room service and I was to tired to get out of bed. The night manager does not really have a personality but all in all I am very satisfied with my stay. The only other thing was that parking was not mentioned on the hotel website so I assumed that it was complimentary.

    4
    « Conference Sessions »

Our company has held a number of conferences at the hotel over the past 6 months. The staff is extremely accommodating to our needs and the rooms comfortable and setup to handle 20+ people. The restaurant was able to accommodate us on a daily basis so we were able to compress lunches as needed. All in all, excellent experiences!

    3
« MOUSE IN THE ROOM! »

they changed our room but that was it - while I don't yell at people about most things I would have thought, from a customer service standpoint, that I would have received SOMETHING for the inconvenience but NOTHING - I never ask for anything to see how far they go, these guys did not get out of the gate

    5
« Friendly service, great location »

I've stayed at this hotel twice over the last few years. It's obvious they have a large number of repeat customers as I heard staff calling customers by name when they arrived. They go out of their way to ensure your stay is the best possible. The room was clean, quiet and the hotel is close to locations in downtown Winnipeg.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Stayed there for 2 night when we were in town and I couldn't have been more impressed with the room daytime staff were very nice and friendly and the bed was very comfy.Rooms were very clean and it was walking distance to a lot of thing to do and shopping...would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    3
    « Great Customer Service »

The staff were very accommodating and worked hard to ensure our stay was pleasant. The location and age of the hotel are its biggest downfall. I was also surprised at the lack of options for gluten free diets at both the Rib Room and the cafe. However, this was not exclusive to this hotel, it seemed to be similar in many restaurants in Winnipeg, including the airport.

    4
    « Event Planner »

The staff, specifically, Chris Martin, was amazing. He went above and beyond to accommodate the needs required for our training session. One of the facilitators could not sleep and Chris made sure she had a pillow that better suited her needs. I have been told by the staff attending that the accommodations were exceptionally clean.

    « Hit & Miss »

Decent location within walking distance of many good restaurants and the Conv Centre. Room upgrades are worth it if your Corp deal includes it. Std rooms are often tired with noisy a/c. Too often, rooms seem to be filled with 'social' guests relocated by various Govt agencies. While a money spinner for the owners, It was enough to make me book the Delta on my last trip. Their free shuttle is anything but. Last 3 trips I was told to take a taxi... And they only reimbursed to $10. Still, if you need to be downtown, it's worth a punt. If just passing thru the Peg, stay at one of the modern bed factories out by the airport. Handy Tip: Never book a room overlooking the huge public parking lots in Winter. The snowplow reversing sirens will keep you awake ALL night!!!

« Great spot. Stayed for Grey Cup 2015. »

Booked this hotel one year in advance in anticipation of Grey Cup 2015. Chose it mostly based on location from the Convention Centre. What a great spot in downtown Winnipeg. Easy access to downtown and The Forks, on foot. We got a great rate on king room - only thing missing was breakfast. The bar was busy every night.

    3
    « Good value/price »

The hotel is okay, as the bistro. The air conditioning system is noisy and you can hear everything happening in the hallway. I had to put earplugs every night. However, the room was very clean. The staff is courteous and professional. The hotel is within walking distance of many tourist attractions.

    4
    « Clean »

Nice place for business stay Room was clean and basic Not to a standard to stay in the room TV is what I would put in my Bathroom Come on tv must be at least 48 if not 56 or 60" But for a downtown local and value This joint rocks that

    2
    « Not for Family »

Scary. Family of 4 including 9 & 11 year old. Looked like drug addicts outside. Clientele in lobby and lounge from "other side of the tracks". Security guard on duty for obvious reasons. 2 Elevators very very very slow. Was on 5th floor. Hallway narrow seemed like 5ft across and no air conditioning. Not inviting given very hot outside. Washroom in room too small, fit one person at a time. Rooms sort of typical BW but at total cost for 2 queen $159 given above and, had to pay for parking (Note: after several indications not happy paying for parking charge $10.50 waived), cost not worth. Stay in many $140+ hotels every year including BW and this one will not be returned. Should have done more research.

    « Business Trip »

Great downtown location. Convenient for almost everything I was doing while in town. Although an older property, rooms were awesome. Well appointed. And a note from my housekeeper who obviously takes pride in her work welcoming me to my room. Good check in/out accommodating my request for a late check out.

« Good place to stay »

    « Excellent »

I liked to stay at the BW Plus Downtown Winnipeg, specially the balcony. The employes were very helpful when I asked directions. Just 10 minutes walk to go to the Winnipeg Clinic, we can leave the car at the hotel. Near Portage Place, walked again not far at all. The only thing I did not like too much, there was no guide for the chanels on TV.

    « Stop over »

Great visit! Great staff! Easy location. The airport shuttle that was provided with no charge saved me a few $$. Would have be nice to have a pool, but it wasn't listed on your website so guess I cannot complain about that. Had a great stir fry for lunch on the Bella restaurant. The staff seemed busy, but maintained their professionalism still. Thank you.

« Short stay, wonderful experience »

This is the best Best Western I have ever stayed at. Reservation was easy and effortless = check! Called a day before my arrival to request an early check-in. Understanding they couldn't guarantee it, I took a chance. When I arrived nearly 2 hours before check-in time, my room was ready and I had a king size bed = double check! The room was HUGE! the bed was super confortable and all the amenities were available and worked well = SCORE! I went down for breakfast and the staff were super friendly and fun to chat with. The food was good (home fries were delish). The location is very quiet and within walking distance to the Market at the Forks and the Human Rights Museum. Next time I'm in Winnipeg, I'm booking there again. Well done to the whole Best Western team, it was a pleasure to stay there.

« Most affordable option close to University of Winnipeg for TRC Conference »

Needed 4 days accommodations while attending the TRC Pathways to Reconciliation conference at the University of Winnipeg. Price was best offered within walking distance via Hotels.com. Nice, revamped hotel. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Nice room, very hot when I entered but cooled down quickly when I turned on the AC. Two restaurant options, but the Rib Room wasn't open both times I tried. Cafe was, and was good. Parking was an extra charge above the hotel cost, so it did add to the cost of the hotel. Sleep quality was great, and was surprisingly quiet for a downtown location.

    3
« Not stellar but staff is great »

Not in the best part of town but good walking distance to most downtown attractions. Rooms are clean, but some amenities are dated in certain parts of the hotel. 3rd floor rooms have balconies and adjoining room doors..so if you dont like that...ask to stay on the 4th floor. Great staff...were really helpful and generous w their time when I experienced problems with noisy neighbours.

    4
    « Great choice. »

We stayed here for 5 nights. We found it conveniently located (walking distance to the convention centre, the Forks, the Human Rights Museum, etc.) The room was quite comfortable and very clean. Shuttle from the airport was a bonus. Disappointing was the lack of a free breakfast, although there is a Starbucks a block away and a Tim Hortons two blocks away. Oddly, the Timmy's is closed on weekends! There are restaurants within the hotel as well, but sometimes you just want a quick coffee and a bagel.

    5
« Great Location. Nicely renovated. Comfortable bed. »

They have done a nice job on this place! The room was nicely renovated and comfortable. We booked it through our Airmiles and was a good choice if you need to be downtown. You can tell it's an older place still, but they have done a nice job. Air conditioner was a little noisy at night and the new flat screen TV's were difficult to change the channel due to the large piece of furniture blocking the access, so you had to hold the remote in the air while laying in bed, a little inconvenient. But nothing serious. No continental breakfast either, but we knew that when booking. Didn't try the bar/restaurant as there as so many to choose from downtown. Nice and close to the MTS Center and walking distance to the Forks. Also nice to have parking next to the hotel at only $10.00 per day, which was nice when we walked everywhere. Overall, this hotel made our stay nice and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and efficient. Found it very quiet also when trying to sleep. No noise from outside and the halls were quiet at night.

    « Visit to Winnipeg »

Our stay at the Best Western Charter House went very well. Appreciated the abundant parking, onsite restaurants and location in downtown Winnipeg. Would stay at this hotel again. We did a fair bit of walking and if the weather had been better we would have don more. Appreciated the taxi service when required. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

    « Excellent Customer Care »

We stayed here for four nights. The location was excellent - very close to many restaurants & coffee shops. Just a short walk to the beautiful Forks. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the absolute best feature about this hotel was the staff. Everyone from housekeeping to room service to front desk and guest services was fantastic. Everyone I met always asked how our stay was going. We left behind a personal item and they had it shipped back to us the very next day. You don't see that kind of customer care much any more. Very impressed.

    « Usual great stay »

Reliable and well located . Good room with balcony. Low rise building. Good room size. Polite efficient staff. Handy surface parking. Accommodations equal to other larger more expensive hotels in the area. No criticisms Good value.

    « good hotel downtown »

So this hotel was ok, but I don't think I will take that one next time. I will probably try an other one. The location was good, cause you can walk everywhere, you can go easily to the tourism center and the business center where they have good restaurant. But you do have to pay a 10$ for the hotel parking and it doesn't look really safe since so many people lock their steering wheel and the hotel tell you a lot to not let stock on sight. The staff is very nice and they help us with what we need. They even call us in our room to see if everything was fine. Really like them. When we ask for a map, she gave us one but she also show us what we can see and where we should go to the city. Since we didn't ask her that, I really like that she immediately tell us. We had a room with king size bed, the room was really clean and new. Bed was comfortable. But the bathroom is really small, you cannot be two persons in same time. The air conditioning was quietly was is nice when you want to have a good sleep. But my biggest problem with this hotel is : there is almost no power outlet. We find just one for a cell phone. So you cannot charge more then a cell phone or a computer at a time. Also, breakfast was not include, but they give you 10% off on purchase at the restaurant. We didn't try it. Elevator was kind of slow, so you need to be patient. Also the fitness center isn't that good. It was smelly when I went there (maybe it was the person before me, I don't know) But I didn't find any thing to disinfect the machine and the jug of water was empty as well as the towel.

« The NEW old Charter House BW »

Change is not only in the name, but also in the quality of service! It is good to know that the change referred here is the for the better (quality of service)! Quality of service is one of such things which can't be explained, but can only be explained, uh!

    5
    « Great Location »

Stayed for two nights in Winnipeg for work related purposes. The hotel was only a block from my meetings, so very convenient. There are a few restaurants in the area, and it's only about a 15 minute walk to the Museum of Human Rights and the Forks. The service was outstanding! The shuttle came within 20 minutes of me calling from the airport and I had a great chat with the driver. The front desk made check-in a breeze and gave me a map and directions to the Forks, where I browsed the market for a couple of hours. The room was clean, internet worked fine and it was an overall pleasant stay. My flight left late on my departure day, no issues with leaving my luggage at the hotel or using the shuttle to get back to the airport. My only complaint was that the bed was too soft, but that's a personal preference...

    « Hidden Fees »

Was no mention of cost to park as well as the 5% Accomodation tax. Added another $15 to the price of the room. But it is located in Manitoba, the king of hidden fees. I live in this province and would not recommend coming to this city for a holiday unless spending money isn't a issue. 8% PST, 1% Enviromental fee on electronics, 5% accommodation tax, Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the 5% GST. If you're coming on a shopping trip and you live out of Manitoba, best to order online and have it shipped to your residence to avoid majority of these fees. Lego, Ikea, Cabelas.... all ship for free with large enough purchases. Was safe and secure with security onsite.

Very welcoming and cheerful staff made this an easy stay for my work trip. The rooms a bit on the smaller side, are very clean, modern, and comfortable. We would love to stay again! The free shuttle they have saved me some money on my trip budget, and was appreciated. This is not your average Best Western.

    « Wouldn't stay here again »

We had 5 rooms booked for a 8 of us going to a concert. When we checked in after 3 only one of the rooms was ready. It was NOT properly cleaned, there was a empty Baggie of drugs on the floor near a garbage can, and a white smudged hand print on the head board. (Travelers with little kids please inspect rooms before letting ur kids explore the room) this baggie could have been fatal to a child. All the rooms smelt like smoke, air conditioners didn't work very well. Food wasn't good in the restaurant. Room doors didn't close properly unless u push/pulled. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Winnipeg DwD »

Convenient location, although the neighbourhood is a little shakey after dark. The location is good close to MTS centre. The hotel itself is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The restaurant offered good food for comparable market prices. The Rib room is a little higher end but a good dinner is offered. All in all I was very pleased with this facility.

    5
« Great place to stay - close to the MTS Centre »

Room was average. When we checked in the lady taking care of the rooms was just finishing adding fresh towels to the rooms but it was no problem. Quick turn around time for them noted. Checkin at 2 PM Checkout at 11 AM I appreciate these times. Checkin staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and had everything that you need to be comfortable.

    « Great Stay »

An older hotel in downtown Winnipeg, but a great place to stay if you need a place in downtown area. Only 2 blocks to the MTS Center for concert and hockey fans. There is parking across the street for a small fee. It may be tricky to get to the hotel but the best route seems to be straight down Portage Avenue then turn right on Donald Street. Watch out for the one way streets !! The hotel is very clean and staff are professional but friendly. There is no pool/hot tub but that is not a concern for us. There was some noise in the hallway during the day, but not a problem at night. Good restaurant/bar with informed staff. Clean and good price. Did not use the dining room. Have stayed here before and will continue to do so.

« Good value with great service and comfort »

The front desk staff were proficient and courteous but not as friendly as in most. It was the business approach to get work done but did not have the friendly atmosphere I find in most BW. The check out staff were friendlier. The price was right for the hotel and a good value for maintaining the BW standards and with a comfortable bed.

I have been staying at this hotel for one week each month for seven years. This hotel compared to a few others in the area is more conveniently located to the business and government communities. My rooms have always been very clean and comfortable and the staff have always been very friendly, polite and helpful in every possible way. The hotel is noticeably very well managed to meet everyone's needs and comfort. I am particularly happy with the food and food service. After a hard day I prefer to stay and eat at my hotel and this is no problem here. In my view, the food is excellent with a wide selection, professionally prepared and served and at a reasonable price. I truly look forward to eating my meals here. I stay in many hotels and motels and if they were all like this one my travelling life would be much happier.

This hotel fully met my standards of Best Western. Comfortable beds, sheets and pillows. Located in a convenient spot. Staff were friendly and the breakfast that was available in the restaurant was perfect.

Bright, clean and welcoming environment. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Conveniently located to the areas I needed to be during my visit. Enjoyed my stay, would recommend to others and stay there again myself.

    « Good stay in down-town Winnipeg »

Roomy and comfortable, (mostly) outstanding staff, convenient in the middle of the CBD and a choice of excellent restaurants. Pretty much ticked all the boxes. Would have rated as excellent had it not been for one odd staff member at reception, whose surly attitude (on asking about the hotel shuttle) spoilt things for the otherwise outstanding staff on site. One other niggle was the inability of hotel maintenance to correct a reception problem with the TV. Minor issues, otherwise.

What a welcoming hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant opens early and serves hot food until 10 PM. The home made soups change daily and are simply delicious. Situated downtown it is walking distance to The Winnipeg Art Gallery, the University of Winnipeg, the Manitoba Archives, and the RBC Convention Centre. I would definitely stay there again.

« Clean, comfortable with a very helpful staff »

This appears to be an older property that has been well-maintained. It was clean, the bed was good and the room was comfortable except that it did not have anything other that two straightback chairs, with no place to really relax and read. There are two restaurants, one casual and open most of the day and one more formal. There was almost no one in the more formal restaurant when I was there and I think the food suffered a bit from that. The hotel manager, Janet, does a great job. I had a problem with my reservation when I arrived but she was able to get everything straightened out for me. Their airport shuttle will also take customers to the train station upon request.

« Very accessible hotel, friendly people »

Came for a one week vacation in Winnipeg. Decided to stay at this hotel based from a friend's referral. The two nights that I stayed was great. Room was clean and beds were nice to sleep in. Housekeeping did a great job in cleaning my room. The Hotel is accessible. I like that it's walking distance to many places. It only took me 10 minutes' walk to get to the Forks Market and see the sights there as well as the Human Rights Museum, which I think is a must see when you visit the city. There are bus stops just in front, which made my city travelling way easier! They also had free shuttle to the airport, so I save almost $40 for a taxi ride! My room had a view of the Convention Centre with a balcony. People in the hotel even the other guests staying there were friendly. Food in their restaurant was delicious! Prices are not too bad either! Coming first from Toronto were the prices were steep, it's great to find a place that has food choice that are less than $10! It's also great to see staff who speak Filipino, I felt like I found my home away from home!

So I came to the city to see my old friend. She booked me to this hotel which is just a block from where she works. At first I'm hesitant cause seeing the so-so, not so good review posted here. But since she paid for it, I really don't have much of a choice. My adventure started?I arrived from Edmonton, phoned them from the airport, and they sent the jolliest hotel driver I've ever met and I've stayed with hotels in the past where the drivers are either grumpy or a snob or simply avoids conversation, so this one was the first one to have all smiles at me and answered all my questions! He even helped me carry my luggage! The lady at the counter checked me in, again, first time I was asked if I have any preference on which floor I wanted to be in! I did notice that the hotel was showing its age, but the rooms are quite nice, I think they renovated or something like that. I had a flat screen tv in my room and HUGE bed! I was on the 3rd floor, I think it was 301 or 302, my room was big! And Wifi is FREE! When I had to print my boarding pass before I left, they helped me navigate my way to West Jet's website and printed my pass again for FREE! There's only a few places that gives extra stuff to people, and this I like the most! Oh and I got those little bags with an apple, a bar and water in it, I asked the guy when I checked out, he said because the restaurant is still closed and so I can have the most important meal of all! Cheesy, but it really made my day!

Be smart when booking, I got a higher rate dealing direct with the hotel. The hotel has great location, walking distance from most interesting things in the city and it is very clean. Staff is very friendly. Basic features hotel. Don't expect luxury.

    « Good hotel »

Good hotel, has free parking, no free breakfast, as in any other Best Western hotels no hot food of vegetarian kind in breakfast menu (cook may do something for dinner on special order). Rooms are clean and quiet

    « convenient for downtown »

This is an older hotel and apparently has a few maintenance issues. I saw a couple of rooms where the doors didn't quite close although they were in use. My room was hot for the first night and there was no temperature control. The air conditioner was quite loud. Maintenance repaired the thermostat and it was fine the next night. At least one of my passengers had the same problem. The room had the usual equipment and was kept clean during my stay and front desk service was friendly enough. There is a cafe on the premises and a fine restaurant, both with good food.

    « The downtown experience »

Tried this because it was close to convention centre and the forks. There were people loitering in front which didn't bother me but might some. Staff were friendly and place was clean. It is a refurbished older hotel but although nicely done and looked after still shows it's age. Parking can be tight and is NOT included ($10 per day). They give you 10% off of the breakfast buffet which is decent but included in most hotels these days. The restaurant (Stellas) was good but loud rap and hip hop music in the morning was a bit much. All in all after staying in several downtown hotels I would highly recommend if you are coming to Winnipeg to stay at the Best Western on Pembina Hwy or the Best Western in Headingley - they do it better and are just better value and experience - and decent pools for less money. If downtown wants our business they will have to step up to the next level or we won't come.

    « Great Hotel »

We usually stay in Winnipeg for special events. Its great to stay at a hotel that is close to MTS Center so we don't have to look for parking and deal with traffic at the end of the event. Wished the breakfast was cheaper or free.

« Good service, sad location »

My first visit to Winnipeg and on the basis of the area around the hotel was not impressed. The room was uninspired but fine. The biggest issue was the heater/ cooler which was constantly running and loud. Tried turning it off but the room got very cold very quickly. The cafe is ok but nothing to write home about and a bit overpriced for what you get. I skipped the breakfast buffet but my fellow traveller tried it and was disappointed. But good luck finding an option nearby. Took me ages to find a coffee let alone food. And good luck finding anywhere in the vicinity of the hotel open at night. It is a decent walk to The Forks if the weather isn't too bad and you have the time. Also convenient for the VIA station. The staff are helpful and personable, and the airport shuttle is convenient. Overall, though, this place is just OK.

    « A nice place to stay »

This was a decent place to stay and nice and close to the MTS Centre. I prefer when the BW's I stay at have breakfast included but this was still nice. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, really that is what you look for in a hotel

    « It's ok »

The room was clean however the fan was very loud on the heating unit. I did not eat at the hotel so I have no comment on the food or dining. The lobby is plain and was fairly clean. Housekeeping did not replace the towels I used the second day.

Great hotel if you need to stay in the downtown area. We had a doctor appointment and the hotel was within walking distance from the doctors office. I was able to leave my vehicle in the hotel parking lot until after we came back from the appointment.

« Good place and great people »

We always go to the city during the holiday season, this place is close to all the places we want to include in our trip. Good food in their restaurant. Great people in the hotel. No smoking in the rooms is the only problem but I guess that's a good thing nowadays.

    « Central Location »

Stayed here when we visited Winnipeg, hotel has a very Christmasy theme when we checked in, lobby was cozy, rooms were clean, staff were genuinely caring. We ordered food from the restaurant for our stay, and it had big servings. They had free shuttle to the bus station which was a big plus. Over all our stay went great!

« Good quality for price »

Came in for the weekend and stayed one night. The room, lounge and all amenities were good. The bed was a bit hard - that would be my only complaint. The VLT lounge brought in people who lowered the standards of the Best Western PLUS.

« Good room, good location »

We stayed over one night. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and is just as comfortable as it always was. The location is excellent and the price is not outrageous. We will definitely be back. We found the beds somewhat hard, but that was the only niggle.

    « great central location »

i like this location as its close to downtown amenities and easy to get to where i need to go for business. Close to the forks and easy to get to airport. I like the balcony in the summer to get some fresh air into the room. restaurant was great food and servie and it was a hockey night so people were in a hurry. I plan to always stay at this proerty when i visit winnipeg.

« Great location and great stay for downtown events »

Stayed at the Best Western for 4 nights over the 103rd Grey Cup. Had the executive king suite. First, I have to say a huge thanks for the advanced booking - that could not have been better! The hotel is literally across the street from the Convention Centre, 1 block from Broadway (Starbucks), 3 blocks from Portage, and maybe 4 or 5 blocks from Main and The Forks. You can get around downtown Winnipeg on foot pretty easy from here. The room was spacious enough and included a microwave and fridge. It took a bit of thinking to get the heat turned on from the AC unit. Its a busy hotel and the restaurant was good the night we went. I would have liked to maybe try the Sunday brunch buffet, but never got to it. Staff were polite and accommodating. Mind you, we made very little requests. No reason to do so. Wi-fi worked great. And its not the kind that you continuously have to re-sign in to use. Overall, no issues with this hotel.

    « Great Location! »

Stayed in room 202 (mini-suite). This room has a balcony but it is locked for the winter. Bed was great (king). Room nice and clean - no issues. Front desk staff and shuttle were great! Would recommend this property if budget conscience. Wifi is free for all of your gadgets.

Modest and clean hotel in downtown core. Great location for getting around downtown. Staff were professional and very helpful. Shuttle to and from the airport was a bonus. Great breakfast at attached restaurant......to bad it wasn't included in price of stay.

Travelling with two persons of limited mobility. Room was well equipped and level of service from all staff well exceeded our expectations. Even though we were there week before the onslaught of guests arriving for Grey Cup.

The hotel was very clean and the lounge staff are incredible. we had a late supper and an early breakfast. Nice buffet and interesting omelette choices. The hotel staff were friendly enough, yet could smile a bit more.

    « Bed Bugs »

The hotel looks relatively well kept, but after waking up in the morning I was covered in red, intensely itchy bed bug bites. Management did not seem to know what to do and offered me a $50 gift certificate for my troubles. They also had moved me rooms when I reported the bed bugs & later on I was told that ONLY the room that I initially got the bites in was treated .....well guess what....bed bugs travel and were probably now in the room that I was in while looking for another hotel. I checked out immediately. They also had no hot water for 2 days so the laundry I did to try and clean my things probably would not do anything to treat the bed bug issue. It has been about 2 weeks since my stay there and my bites are still healing. Do yourself a favor & never stay there!

    « No hot water »

Other than the no hot water issue, I was pleased with my stay at this hotel. The decor was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the location was only a few blocks from the MTS Centre and the Shark Club.

    « Inconvenient »

The staff were relatively friendly, the room was clean and comfy, and the location was in close proximity to the RBC convention center. The hotel was able to accommodate an early check-in, which was good. Unfortunately, they do not run their airport shuttle before 730am - EVEN WHEN MANY OF THEIR GUESTS ARE LEAVING EARLY IN THE MORNING AFTER A LARGE CONFERENCE. I was really disappointed that the hotel made no effort to accommodate a large number of guests by extending shuttle service hours under these circumstances. Additionally, there were many periods of time (reported by many guests during my stay) when the hot water wasn't working.

Checked in late Sunday evening, got last room where Internet signal was very weak at end of corridor, Janet the manger refunded me for 1 night stay which was very much appreciated, and moved me to a better room (BW Diamond status)

    « Comfortable & Homey »

My stay at the Best Western Downtown was great, the service of the staff was excellent, they made sure I was taken care of & also made me feel at home. This was my first time staying at the hotel by myself and I was a nervous wreck but it wasn't oh so bad :) I stayed here with my mom and sister for the One Direction concert back in July, overall it was great! but me and my sister experienced harassment by a drunk guy in the elevator, well it wasn't exactly harassment but just thought he can sweep us off our feet but hellll nooo! Anyways we told the front and he was taken care of right away. Food is not so good honestly, NEVER ate there but overall this hotel is awesome, great stay and affordable prices :)

« Best Western Plus (Winnipeg) »

This hotel does not warrent the Best Western Plus badge, decor is very dated, restaurant, lounge food was poor. They do not control folks wandering through the hotel. Music in the lounge was very load and I requested that volume be lowered I was told that the manager was not in and staff could not turn down the volume. Would not use this hotel again.

    « Great Training Venue »

Took a one day training course at Best Western Charter House and it was great. The location downtown is nice because you have so many food options for lunch. The rooms in the basement were great, not too hot and not too cold. Parking is convenient and the restaurant is very nice to grab a snack. This is a great venue for training courses.

Clean rooms but the hotel had a bit of a smell and could use some cleanup. Convenient location in Winnipeg. Airport shuttle service is very convenient. Friendly and courteous staff. Top floor room with balcony was great.

« Charterhouse is my home away from home in Winnipeg. »

I've been staying at the Best Western Plus Downtown Winnipeg several times a year for over 10 years. The location for business or tourism is excellent. Staff is outstanding. Many have worked there for years and greet me by name. The Bella Cafe for breakfast and Rib Room for dinner are both excellent. Hotel guests receive a discount on dining.

    « A great weekend »

The room was clean and comfortable. It was busy the night I checked in and lots of children running up and down the hallways. But the room forked well for my weekend. The location was great, walking distance to the Village and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Will stay here again.
