Breakfast was under par with limited selections. Breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed. She could have used help from housekeeping with mess cleanup. Front desk service was pleasant and checkin and checkout went smoothly. Hotel needs an upgrade, carpet was worn and dirty.

Something for everyone. Kids loved the pancake maker and the parfait station. My body can't handle all that sugar I enjoyed oatmeal and an egg. I was happy that there were options for both of us. My kids also save the tiny jam jar as a souvenir. Besides breakfast it was clean, checkout went smooth I had a great sleep, little light pollution, nice bed, nice temperature, quiet area.

We travel with our retired seeing eye guide dog and this hotel is one of our favorites. We travel between Denver and Oregon frequently and this is a great place halfway between Denver and Oregon. The breakfast was quite good with several healthy options. They even had a latte machine!

Family of three with four dogs in tow (2 small, 2 medium) and we were able to check in without any issues. There are several areas with grass to take the dogs outside. The breakfast selection was great except there were limited hot options for vegetarians.

I was welcomed with genuine kindness on a cold and rainy day- early than check in time. The breakfast was warm and good. The room was clean and quiet, I slept well. Mr. T'S is within walking distance for a good dinner.

Great hotel. Very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom was clean and had very nice supplies in it. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice variety of hot foods as well as yogurt and oatmeal. The coolest thing was the robot pancake maker. That thing made some delicious pancakes.

We stay at this winter Mark every time we come through this area. We actually have military discount. For some reason we're not able to get it in the month of December so we have to use points. This location is so wonderful you're close to everything they even offer a shuttle for the Winner's Circle down the street that has a wonderful restaurant. When we checked in the older woman she was not very nice but I saw past that. The maintenance guy that doubles as the shuttle driver is absolutely amazing. Thank you Best Western we love being a diamond with your brand

Comfortable and dog friendly. The hotel is relatively new and well taken care of. The receptionist was fine. We felt taken care of . We would recommend staying her to others. It is easy to find. Surround area is OK.

The hotel is beautiful and well lit. The breakfast was amazing!!! The coffee and yogurt best I've had in a long time! The breakfast lady was fun sweet kind and so friendly!!! The room was tidy and large. The issue we had was the smell. The overwhelming scent of soap made it impossible to sleep. We drove all day and have to drive all day today but the hotel was completely booked so we didn't have the option to change rooms. We were exhausted. Upon expressing our gratitude and concerns the woman at the front desk was very condescending and made fun of us by saying, "I don't give discounts or refunds for good smelling rooms." It was not a good soap smell to be so overwhelmed by that my husband and I both couldn't sleep. I ended up spending most of my night in my van because it was giving me a migraine. It was also difficult to breathe. The lady simply dismissed us. About 20 minutes later, as we were attempting to quickly vacate the property she called our room to offer us a $25 discount. This added insult to injury. We will not be back to this establishment sadly. It sucks because other than the really over powering scent of soap and the dismissive woman behind the desk, it was a lovely place. God bless.

Well located hotel in Winnemucca. It was a clean room with a good bed and strong warm shower and an OK pool. Biggest downside was the breakfast which was one of the worst on our trip. Desk service was a bit slow at checkout.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn on our recent trip through Winnemucca Nevada. We found the room to be clean, in good repair, and very comfortable, some bigger than we usually stay in. A breakfast buffet was provided, which was pretty good for an included breakfast. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was easy to find in a city not familiar to us.

Theattresses has springs digging into you the tub was plugged up the TV shut off every 15 mins and to charge one 260 dollars for a night is a ripoff told the front deck about the problem they just laughed and said sorry

Very pleasant hotel, comfortable and large room, welcoming lobby area, delicious breakfast and helpful and approachable staff. We missed the exercise room but we were there for only 1 night so it wasn't a big deal.

Clean, quiet and comfortable stay with our dog. King bed room was spacious with lots of furniture like ottomans and sofa without feeling crowded. Ample and delicious breakfast that included a nice assortment of hot & cold items such as breakfast potatoes, omelettes with cheese, pancakes, whole fruit, pastries, etc. Appreciated that they had individual Silk soy milks as one of us is vegan. We stayed in a pet room (116) and it was extremely clean with no pet or human hair visible. It was also surprisingly quiet inside as it was on ground floor by lobby and an exit. There was a little league group staying at the same time as us and we didn't hear a peep when inside our room. Nice bath products, a sink & vanity in bathroom as well as one directly outside. Fridge was very large for a hotel room. Comfortable bed and pillows.

The room was clean and spacious with a sink in the bath area and at the vanity to facilitate morning prep. It had microwave, fridge, and chairs with a cocktail table to eat in the room. It had a sunny and well stocked breakfast area. Marble countertops and a makeup mirror really helped.

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. However the price was way too high for this property. The pool was across the parking lot and very small. For $200/night we expected it to be a more upgraded property. We didn't see anything nicer in town though, so I guess they price it expecting lots of highway travelers.

Best hotel in town. It's clean, the staff is good, and the breakfast is has decent options for all tastes. We'll be back if our travels take us through Winnemucca again. We've tried another hotel & this one is best. Fine location also.

We stay here a few times a year on our drive to Utah. MOST importantly, I feel very safe on all fronts which is important to me as a woman traveling alone. The staff could not be nicer and the dog thinks he is at Disneyland with all the love, attention and treats he gets.

Easy, clean, pet friendly hotel. Great front desk staff. Definately recommend. We had fun meeting other pet families in the hallways. We liked the hotel so much we added a day to our travels at another in the chain.

This is an amazing Hotel! quick and simple check in very clean lobby and rooms great staff and easy location. Breakfast was one of the best ideas ever packaged food ready to be heated and taken with or at the table in the lobby I will always stay here when working in Winnemucca.

Good bed, clean room and large suite. Could not find one thing wrong. Pillows very comfortable and the art was tasteful and made it feel Iike you are at home! You can't go wrong choosing this hotel. It was very quiet as well.

We stayed here for one night while driving east from California. Our room was spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated. The hotel is quiet and well-maintained. Breakfast was ample, and staff helpfully provided a tray for taking it to the room. Would definitely recommend as a place to spend the night while on the road. (The only downside was that the Tesla destination chargers in the parking lot didn't work.)

As we pulled into this small town on motel row, we began to worry a little. All of the properties we passed looked old and tired. Happily when arrived at this BMP property it was just as inviting as many others we have enjoyed. Modern, clean, well taken care of. The room was fresh with what appeared to be newer carpeting and furnishings, Nice large flat screen and an HVA system that was efficient and quiet. The night time temp dropped to 19 degrees!. The breakfast offerings were generous satisfying. The overall experience was excellent. . .

Always reliable for a quick stay over. Very friendly staff. We called in to make a last minute reservation and the person that answered and helped us on the phone was very nice. Her name was Debbie. We did not eat breakfast or use the internet, but the items looked great and the coffee was good.

Quick friendly service and a nice clean room made for the perfect stop. The property felt safe and well maintained, and every staff member I spoke with was kind and helpful. As a woman who travels alone for almost half the year I notice and appreciate comfortable stays like I experienced here.

Sheets were clean, bed ok and staff friendly BUT almost dropped from the urine smell when taking the stairwell from second floor to first. Bathroom floor was yucky around tub and when taking a shower the water did not drain- not pleasant. Would not recommend. I would drive longer to bypass Winnemuka altogether if possible

vending machines take only cash. luggage carts are small few and held together with duck tape... no shop in foyer to buy items ... location best for long drives on Hw 80... sub sandwich across the street...elevator works...internet very slow... no pay to view TV... breakfast ok...rooms excellent quiet clean.

Stayed with our dogs. Nice grass patch out back. The room was really clean and had a microwave, fridge and a coffee maker. Every staff member we encountered was over the top friendly! Breakfast had something for everyone including soy milk. Skip the burritos, the sausage sandwich was better. The fresh hot waffle is the way to go with a cup of their good coffee. We were comfortable, well fed and made to feel very welcomed. This is where we will always stay in Winnemucca.

We expected a "nice" room for the night but were stunned to find a complete kitchen - full-sized refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, and table and chairs! I could move right in! The place is very clean, great bed, super quiet and very comfortable - hated to leave!

This is a wonderful Best Western. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was even ready early. Rooms are clean and quiet. Beds and bedding were great. And the location was a good one.

Nice clean facility very good breakfast,good selection of food helpful staff. Room was large with complete kitchen, equiped with everything you need. Room was larfge very quite and beds were very comfortable. Ate at local restruant near buy also was very good, a suprise find in this small town

I'm giving a 4 star review mostly because I found the women at the front desk to be unfriendly. Other than that the hotel was clean, plenty of parking, room was clean and spacious, breakfast was good. And pet friendly!

We travel through often for the last 30 years and this location is always our first choice. Staff is always kind and well mannered. Early to bed- it is quiet and early to rise- staff is eager to help get us checked out and be sure we have a snack for the road.

Wow, this place is great, from the moment you walk into the spacious lobby to check in. The rooms are large, clean, and beds are super comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and everything was individually wrapped for appropriate COVID-safe protocol. Rooms were very quiet -- the A/C units were large, not the typical ones under the window, and these units really work well. Bathroom had separate sink next to the toilet AND one outside of the toilet area -- nice. The room had a single K-cup coffee maker, which was a nice touch. The only negative I can think of would be the very pouffy pillows on the beds. Quiet hotel. Friendly staff, safe location in town.

A very nice facility that was both quiet and easy to get to from the highway. Plenty of eating and other services close by. There seemed to be plenty of parking for vehicles of all kinds. Staff were cordial and helpful.

Overall, we had a good stay. The room was fine and the location seemed safe. The breakfast got a little crowded because the burritos and egg/meat biscuits needed to be microwaved and there was only one microwave. It turns out that the rooms have microwaves so if they had put up a reminder sign that guests could microwave these items in their own room, it might have solved the problem. There were a lot of individually wrapped items - perhaps this was because of COVID. The water in the pool was a little cold but the chlorine level was manageable (no goggles needed). The hot tub wasn't very hot but worked. The lady checking me in seemed to have a wooden expression and not much in the way of personality. She also didn't volunteer the fact that I needed a separate pass to get into the pool/hot tub area. When making the reservation, there was an option of getting an "executive" room for $10 more. But I couldn't figure out what you got in an executive room. I think it refers to rooms in the building adjoining the pool. So the advantage is that you have direct access to the pool/hot tub area (vs. walking across the parking lot), and a balcony or patio. There is no on-site fitness room. You have to obtain a pass from the front desk to a nearby 24 hour fitness location about 4 blocks away. I consider this a good family friendly hotel as it has no casino and no smoking. And the location is good, there are options within walking distance. The room we had also came with a good size refrigerator, larger than the typical hotel room one. And it had a microwave - that's something you don't see too often.

Stayed May 2022. Motel is conveniently located. Check-in went smoothly and the staff was pleasant and room was clean and quiet. "Hot" breakfast was not up to the standard of BW Plus motels, as it consisted of microwave packages of burritos and breakfast sandwiches and there is only one microwave oven for all guests. The juice and coffee choices were standard fare. The eating area was kept clean and had available tables on the morning I was there. Overall a pleasant stay.

The staff was very nice and had good food recommendation. The room was very clean. And my special request when making my reservation was exactly what I asked for. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend staying there.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, lots of options for a quick breakfast . Even the rooms were very spacious! We were even told by the staff about the local events going on during our stay! That was so sweet of them to do. Dont let the outside fool you, the inside of this building was great and clean and big! No casino attached which was perfect for our stay with littles. Also, there are some restaurants walking distance from there.

The room was very comfortable, and suited our needs for the weekend. The continental breakfast has fresh fruit, and good quality yogurt. The front desk help is always very professional and friendly, Sarah has a wonderful disposition and is always willing to help out with your requests.

This location is a gem. The view of the mountains dusted with snow out the huge floor ceiling windows in the dining hall are spectacular. Staff was warm and friendly and efficient, the hot breakfast was extensive and tasty. Waffles, sausage egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, at least three kinds of yogurt choices, hot cereal, cold cereals, fresh fruit, pastry goodies, gourmet teas and delicious coffee. The artwork in the lobby, hallways, and in the rooms is beautiful. Pays tribute to the beautiful area surrounding Winnemucca, and to the one in the town is named after. Everything is updated, including the carpeting, beautiful artwork on the walls, dining room area in the lobby, bedding and window coverings. Very quiet rooms, The AC/heater is quiet and efficient, the whole place smells fresh.We'll be back

The hotel is definitely dated but you don't need much when you're just passing through. Average bed comfort and hard pillows. But it had the most hearty breakfast I've ever seen at a chain hotel. Legitimate sandwiches and burritos in addition to the usual packaged pastries, etc. If you know in advance when you'll be there I'd recommend a reservation. I took one of the last rooms at 5:00p and by 6:00 they were turning people away. Also note if you're coming for the legendary Basque restaurants, they're closed on Sundays.

This Best Western is a nice stop along the way to your destination. The beds are so comfortable and the breakfast bar is one of the best I've seen. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I gave this location four stars because there were crumbs on the carpet and the bathroom floor and tub could have been c!eaner. However, besides these two issues I will definitely return to tthis Best Western.

This hotel is well stocked with the breakfast grab and go style and the cleanliness of the well stocked kitchenette rooms. The layout of the rooms allow one to be in the bedroom which is away from the bathroom - which is separated by the kitchenette. The grab and go style breakfast has so many options to choose from that everyone in your party would be happy with the choices.

We stopped in Winnemucca on the way to Idaho. The staff was very friendly, the rooms clean and the breakfast was good. They also recommended a great restaurant not far from the hotel, that we were able to walk to.

We enjoy stopping at this location if we trave this way home. Its always been a pleasant stay. I know they try but the dog area is so small. I will bring it up again, why does Best Western charge for small dogs. We have been travelling with out Schiperke, for five years. He doesn't bark, tear up the floor, and is well trained. Why the extra charge or not even accepting dogs at all at some locations. Does Best Western charge extra for small children??

Our stay was brief, but everything was done right. We called ahead of time letting them know we were running in around midnight and we needed a crib. They put us in the perfect room for our family situation and the crib request was executed. The beds were nice and everything was in order and clean. Maybe I'm too easily impressed, but I've had some bad hotel and service experiences lately, so it's nice when everything is as it should be. People upfront were nice and helpful.

We have stayed at this Best Western many times... perfect location to break up our trips to Boise...The help are very pleasant, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast bar has many selections...They have coffee, tea, and cookies available 24/7

Traveling from Colorado to San Francisco and this is the one stopover on the way. This is a older property but very well maintained. They have a friendly and helpful staff. The room are clean, the beds comfortable, and the water hot (the tubs are slippery so be careful). This was our second time staying at this property and see no reason not to stay here again. There are many other motels in the town, but this a good Best Western.

Just like the Title states, we always feel we're at home here. The staff is very friendly. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms and hallways are very clean. It's quiet. We always feel well taken care of.

Hotel is very attractive with nice atmosphere. Well lit parking and easy to get in and out of. Staff friendly and room just what we wanted. We had no problem in bringing to the room some expensive bikes we had with us in our truck - staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Very nice, clean and comfortable. Stayed elsewhere the first night and froze. We stayed at a place that smelled like mildew and the heater was loud and inadequate. The shower didn't drain well and the towels looked like rags. So our stay for our second and third nights at Best Western were like heaven! So clean and comfortable and the heater worked great and was nice and quiet. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Best Western!

The bathroom had mold on the walls in and out of the shower. It looked like there was mold in the grout in the floor tiles. Soap scum caked in the tub. Mold in the windowsill! DISGUSTING!! Will NEVER go back to this location.

Expected much better from a Best Western Plus. Room was a good size but bath and sink did not drain properly. Which is disgusting. Elevator stopped working overnight, so I had to carry our luggage down the stairs. No one offered to help and I am 72 years old.

We always stay at a Best Western as they are consistent in their service, cleanliness, decor and comfort. This Best Western exceeded the standard. It was very comfortable, had a yummy breakfast and accepted dogs. It was a lively experience

I stayed the night on travel between So. California and Idaho. Nice hotel, easy access on and off the freeway and next to eateries. Staff were welcoming. The room was large, including bathroom and comfortable. They have breakfast in the lobby/ sitting area, perfect for light to medium eaters and to grab and go. I would stay there again when heading to Idaho.

We stay at a lot of Best Westerns and this is a really good one. We got a room on the first level, close to the lobby so that was nice. Very quiet and nice. Close to parking too. The breakfast area is a little small and a little congested, at least when we were there so that was fairly unimpressive but that's my only criticism.

This hotel is clean and the front desk person was very welcoming. Our room was clean but the coffee machine did not work. What I would say about this property is that I would definitely stay here again but I think that a lot of Best Westerns in general could use an update in decor.

It is a very clean, quiet, comfortable hotel. The staff was very friendly. Ample parking for a trailer. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The toiletries were surprisingly great! We would book this hotel again!

Would stay here again. Decent breakfast offering. Clean and newer. Requested a cot to accommodate the size of our family, was told they don't even have cots. Thankfully the room had a couple chairs in it my 13 year was willing to push together to sleep on. Not the most comfortable night.

The management has always strived to make one feel welcome and they also strive to keep the facilities in tip top condition with constant upgrades.I credit Liddy, the manager, for this condition.

I have stayed here many times over the last 30 years, it has never been a bad experience. Always clean and quiet, plenty of food choices nearby. Can't go wrong here! I travel in a large oversized truck and trailer, parking is close by, just a short walk across the street

This is a cut above many Best Westerns and one of the nicer places to stay in Winnemucca. On this visit, we ended up in a larger than usual king room with a sofa, dining table and kitchen, none of which we needed. We would have preferred a conventional king room for a lower price, but this was what was available. Check-in was quick and efficient. The breakfast offerings looked fine and the eating space is generous. We typically opt for breakfast at The Griddle when we're in town.

The woman at the front desk was pretty rude, but they were saving me from a bad hotel up the street, so I was willing to put up with anything. This also meant it was a bit expensive, but it's hard to judge that without an advanced reservation. It was annoying that the online price is less than what she was willing to give me just walking in, so I guess be warned of that. The room needs a bit of maintenance, but otherwise it was a fairly nice hotel. Nice and clean, good location, and pretty average or above average all around. My normal details: Comparison to others in chain: Above average Internet: Acceptable - 7/7 Breakfast: Was told it is “grab and go”, ended up being a modified grab and go, not bad Room: Big, two sinks, decent layout, but in need of some maintenance. Couldn't turn off the heat lamp without waiting it out because the knob was stripped. Cleanliness: Very clean Bed: Average Bedding: Good Shower: Good pressure and shower head, but poor soap holder placement (hard to not run into) Hard water: Quite hard HVAC: Good Location: Good Noise: Some kind of constant mechanical noise. Otherwise average Staff: Oh, kind of rude, but fine (at checkin). Better at checkout. Cost/Value: A bit expensive for Winnemucca, but not for right now and for last minute.

This is the best hotel In Winnemucca, which is a transit stop when we drive from Sonoma to spark a city. The Lobby is clean and welcoming. The breakfast is satisfying. The room was clean. My only objection is that I am disabled and the hotel has no rooms with a roll in shower.

We enjoy the Best Western Plus properties. You pay a little more but you get a lot more. The staff was congenial, the rooms were new and very large. If you don't mind paying a little more, I believe it is a great place to stay. We enjoy staying here as we cross Nevada ! ! !

We stayed only one night, but did have a suite with kitchen, table, sofa, chair which I would recommend to anyone who is staying longer. It was more than we needed, and paid $230 just to sleep overnight, which for that overnight was higher than I usually opt for... but it was roomy and nice. I noticed that it was especially clean in our room, which we always highly appreciate CLEAN! The front desk staff was also very informed, helpful and friendly, so "their people" are a high point of this hotel. Hope Best Western knows that!

What I didn't care for is the fact that despite Best Westerns website and signs in the lobby saying personal protective equipment is being used and despite an indoor mask mandate in NV at that time NONE of the staff where wearing any, let alone any of the guests except my wife and I. Makes me realize that despite any hotels claim of rooms sitting empty for at least 24 hours is most like bogus as well.

This is one of the better Best Westerns I have experienced. The hotel had a luxurious feel and atmosphere. Customer service was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is well located within walking distance of downtown, restaurants, and casinos. Price was a bit high; probably because of a convention in town.

Great location, super friendly staff, comfortable/clean rooms and good variety of self-serve breakfast. Walking distance to The PIG BBQ restaurant...highly recommend taking in dinner there. Allowed us to park our motorcycles near entrance

We had an over night stay at this hotel. My overall opinion is that it's over priced. We had just spent a night at Best Western Plus in Sparks NV and it was a much nicer newer hotel. Pros - Room was clean and spacious Cons - I had called ahead about parking for a car trailer and was told that they did have parking. The short answer is No, they do not. They have a small parking on the side of hotel but the spaces are small to only fit cars/SUVs. Though we were told we could take up 2 or 3 spaces, the driveway and lanes were too narrow for us to use. I also asked for a room away from vending machines and I got a room across hall and down one room from machines. It was noisy.

We were greeted by a nice young lady at the front desk. She gave us recommendations to 2 dinner spots. We choose Sid's Restaurant. We had an awesome meal, excellent wait staff & prompt food service! At breakfast, Ann was so friendly & helpful - a real gem! As was the front desk lady at checkout!

The Staff at this hotel made me feel at home. They made sure that I was comfortable. The food choice at the breakfast was better than other places. The room was kept fresh. I requested room service and it was done right

The location is between two roads so not quiet. Tub didn't drain, AC on low fan noisy fridge noisy. No real glasses provided upon request. Breakfast is microwave junk food. Staff is nice it's the limitations of this hotel how it's maintained and run. Oh it's next door to Winnemucca Inn which is quieter and $40 less with better food

The hotel was clean and we'll maintained. Breakfast had a great selection of cereal, yogurt and microwave items. Coffee, of course, was included. We did miss the member gift bag and restaurant coupons they used to give out to us.

Very good spacious room, clean and new and fresh. The staff was very helpful and polite, showed they cared... This is in mid-Nevada not a destination area so what a pleasant surprise to find this hotel. Breakfast was very good as were the beds and got a good night's sleep. If you want service with a smile from people who care stay here.

My wife and I were on a cross country trip from South Carolina to California. Winniemucca was our last stopover. The Gold Country Inn is well maintained and staffed. We were warmly welcomed and has he room we requested. The motel is a bit of a drive off of the interstate but still convenient. Though the property is older, it is well maintained. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet despite facing a street. The bed was comfortable. Our only complaint is the cost . . . the most we have paid for a Best Western room in our cross country travels. But then again, all the rooms in Winniemucca are expressive.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The rate has increased 30% since February. The rooms are average but clean. Service is average but they may be understaffed due to coming out of Covid. The sign on the front door said they still have a mask wearing policy but we only saw one employee wearing one.

Excellent accommodations nicely appointed facility. Would have liked to stay like to stay longer on travel that did not involve business. I didn't have time to enjoy any of the hotel's other fine amenities.

This was a very pleasant end to a long day's drive. Friendly staff, clean, quiet well-appointed room. Excellent "grab-and-go" breakfast. Keurig in-room coffee-maker. I liked the small touches like bath salts in addition to normal toiletries.

Ashley at the front desk was rude and wasn't wearing a mask when I checked in. She was aggressive and wouldn't let me get a word in or ask questions. She acted like she hated I was checking in and wanted me gone. I'm mostly upset she wasn't wearing a mask. We are in a pandemic and you work at a hotel. You should be wearing a mask at all times. Don't stay here because they obviously don't care about the safety of their guests.

Very comfortable Hotel in Downtown Winnemucca. Rooms are very nice and remodeled. Rooms are very clean. Bathrooms are nice size with a great shower. Beds are very comfortable. Rooms have lots of room. Rooms are very quiet. Staff are very friendly. Will definitely stay here again when in town.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean facility with larger rooms and a great take away hot breakfast options! Only change I would make is no community water cooler because hands and mouth pieces are not a good mixture ever!

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it is always very nice. The front desk staff are always pleasant. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. We have traveled with our pets before without any issues. the recommendations for restaurants were all very good. We will definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, clean hotel. Nothing spectacular, just reliable and professional. Breakfast options were ok, sort of like a 7-11, but at least there were hot options, and more than a prepackaged danish and coffee, which I appreciated.

While the room is adequate, nothing makes up for the fact that the receptionist keeps her mask down around her neck while none of the guest in the check-in area/reception area wear masks. (I have photos.) I have contacted the hotel after several recent visits during the past year and have tried to give them additional chances, but after this last visit there is no way that I will further risk my health by staying at a hotel that refuses to comply with state law or to even comply with the notices on its website and the signs posted on the front door. This is dangerous and disrespectful. If there is no compliance at the front door, I have no faith that there is compliance with the stated cleaning procedures. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT THE THREATS OF COVID.

Here for one night as we were traveling through the area. The room is spacious and the bathroom has a split design where one sink is outside of another area that has a toilet, sink and shower. Water pressure was good. The definite down side of the room for us was that the bed was very uncomfortable. I kept rolling into my husband toward the center of the bed and it squeaked every time one of us moved. The other downside is that they have the temperature set at 72 degrees. We like a room on the cooler side when we sleep and it was impossible to be able to either turn the air conditioner on or turn the heat off so that we could lower the temperature in the room. We both woke up with headaches and stuffy heads due to this. My husband said that management must have locked the actual unit so that traveler's are not able to adjust the temperature to their liking. Shame on you Best Western. Next time we come through the area we will choose a different hotel to stay at even though we are loyal Best Western customers.

Staff wasn't wearing masks.Don't stay here if you care about Covid safety. I chose to stay here after reading reviews praising their safety precautions, but that's not what we experienced. Check in at night: front desk agent was not wearing a mask when we walked in, and put on some chin-mounted mouth plastic shield that didn't cover anything. The agent was diligent about hand sanitizer though. Check out: a different desk agent had a surgical mask on, but had it pulled down around their chin while they were talking on the phone. I you don't care about Covid, the room was clean and the bed was firm and comfy.

Winnemucca is our stopover from CA to CO where we have to go to help family. All our concerns about COVID were minimized here. Very clean and lots of precautions. We were taking stuff to our car on the morning of Jan. 7 and encountered a woman screaming at the desk clerk because she had asked her to wear a mask. Thankfully the desk clerk did not back down and, after much nasty screaming, the woman went back to her room for a mask. The desk clerk handled it very professionally. No screaming on her part.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and pet friendly! This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at and will stay again! I felt very safe, especially having to travel during the pandemic. My dog was also welcomed!

Hotel was very clean and was festive and decorated for Christmas. Room was warm when we checked in. Breakfast was great and filling. Staff was cleaning the breakfast area after each person used the area. Very friendly staff and gave us great ideas for dinner.

This is a nice property. Due to Covid we did not access the breakfast, but looked OK. This property is in the vicinity of a couple casinos and several restaurants. Winnemuca is a fairly small town - seemed pretty safe to us, so we walked pretty much everywhere

Great place for 1 night and dog friendly Non-smoking hotel. Bed was very firm and pillows were so huge sleep was minimal. We would stay again with our dog, but not if we were without pet. Check-in was fine, not the most friendly person though. (Ashely checked us in. She appeared mire friendly with all the construction workers that were staying at the motel.)

I arrived at this hotel with two pets. I had been driving for 6 hours. The folks at the front desk wore masks and were very friendly and accommodating. I asked for a room that was not near noise, so they moved my room to another area. The room was very clean and the breakfast was typical with the standard cereal, coffee, etc. The fruit was fresh and so was the coffee. It was just a good overall experience. The grounds were clean and they had a small area for pets which was clean and supplied doggie poop bags. There was a trashcan nearby, it was well kept. Again, the clerks that were there were very friendly and accommodating. They let me park in front to unload my items. I could expect nothing more for a hotel. Further, the bed was extremely comfortable. The only complaint I had was that they charge an extra $50 on my credit card that THEY DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT WHEN YOU CHECK IN...which they told me they would credit. I have yet to receive my credit back...but I must assume it may take a few weeks (credit card). If I do not receive, I will change my rating ... :) Also, Winnemucca is a charming little town!

Stayed here one night on our way to Spokane, Washington. Room was clean. Easy accessible outlets to plug phone chargers in on night stand. Pretty quiet even though room faced a street. Lots of hand sanitizer placed around hotel. Staff wore masks properly. Decent toiletries. Beds were pretty comfortable. I'd stay here again if needed.

We stayed here overnight on a trip to the National Parks (9/11/2020). Late night/early morning check in. They were fully booked but we had reservations while others were turned away due to hotel being fully booked. Lots of hotel guests had pets so this must be a pet friendly hotel? They are not keeping rooms un-occupied between guest stays as they are fully booked. We tried to stay at the Candlewood but they were fully booked so this was our second choice. Room was decently clean and quite and the end of the hallway near the stairs so we had to walk up the stairway. We did our own disinfection of the room just in case. Room was a little dated/worn but good enough for 1 night. They had grab/go breakfast: breakfast sandwich, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee/tea. No open/exposed hot food but microwave to warm up sandwich.

This looked like the best pet-friendly hotel in Winnemucca but it was a disappointment. We stayed here with our dog for one night while on a longer road trip. We were given a corner room overlooking the parking lot. We heard everyone who entered or exited through the hallway door near our room. The room was dated and we weren't confident of its cleanliness during the pandemic. The take-out breakfast was very basic. I'd try to avoid this hotel/stop if I did this road trip on I-80 again.

We had a lovely experience here. The staff were very helpful and welcoming to kids, and the facilities were great. The kids especially enjoyed the pool! We highly recommend this hotel, especially for a family trip.

Similar to the Best Western in Elko, NV, this chain hotel was an excellent overnight stay. Close, walking, distance to downtown Winnemucca and super clean. Staff enforced mask policy, social distancing, and breakfast/lobby area was kept clean and guests were treated well by both desk attendants (morning and evening). We stayed at a Whyndam in Elco, earlier this month, and Best Western was far superior in staff helpfullness, decor and hotel ammenties. Definitely will recommend the Best Western group over other hotels in same price range ($$) in either city.

Stayed here for 1 night. Location is good as a stopover between Reno and SLC. Hotel was ok - needs an update but was comfortable. 2 queen room with a kitchen was comfortable - the kitchen had full size appliances including a freezer which was great for bottled water to keep our cooler going the next day. Microwave looked brand new. Hotel looked clean but there were no obvious additional efforts to sanitize. Staff were behind a screen and there was only a to go breakfast which was more than I expected. All guests wore masks while in the building which was good to see. Would have been nice to see some sanitizing wipes in areas other than the lobby and to know that the room had been sanitized in advance. (Used my own Clorox wipes and cleaned my room before I touched anything in there. ) not saying there was anything wrong but I think BW need to be more obvious about their cleaning policies.

Accommodations adapted to meet the guests needs per COVID-19 standards. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Comfy beds and amenities in the spacious room more than met our needs. Staff was good about masks and so were the guests. Grab and Go breakfast offered. Plenty of choices. Hotel is pet friendly cat. This is the first time we traveled with our cat....he is making the trip with us as we move cross country. Would stay there again!

We stayed here twice passing through from Oregon to Utah, on the night of July 27, checking out the 28th, and again the 31st of July checking out August 1. The first night was great, based on that we would return. The night of the 31st we noticed the room was hot and warm air was blowing in the room even though the thermostat was set at sixty degrees. There was a flood of water at the back of the hotel where the HVAC unit was, and we surmised that the system was down. It was one hundred degrees when we checked in. It is our habit to request an upper floor room (this hotel is two story) but 1) We should have been told the A/C was down when we checked in 2) We should have gotten a discount, this is Nevada in high summer 3) We should have been offered a fan and/or ground floor room. We had a fan with us, luckily, but the room was miserably hot anyway,. We had a long drive, it would have been nice to have been rested. Also, the tables in the breakfast area were not wiped or cleaned in any way between guests. Gross any time, but where's the Covid precautions, this is sanitation 101

Let me begin by saying that every staff member that we encountered were very nice and helpful. That being said, we had a terrible experience. After more than 13 hours on the road we were looking forward to a relaxing evening and a good nights sleep, we got neither. As we walked into our room (141) we were hit hard by how hot the room was and the heavy stench of cigarette smoke. We fiddled with the a/c but we could not get it to produce cold air. I called the front desk only to learn that the a/c was down for the entire hotel but were assured that it would be back shortly so we believed it was being taken care of. The smell of the room was bad enough but without circulation of cool air, the gross smell was like a heavy blanket over our faces. It was difficult to fall asleep but we finally passed out. When we awoke, we realized that the air conditioning never came on. Even though we managed to get some sleep neither of us felt rested for the long day of driving ahead of us. They gave us a discount, which was nice, but when I complained about the smell of the room the only response I got was, "All of our rooms are non smoking." Well, duh. If you have to stay here make sure you are never put in room 141, which is a pet friendly room. I repeat, NEVER STAY IN ROOM 141!!!!!

Would definitely stop here again. Plastic shield covered the entire counter, there was a cup with pens noting they had been sanitizes with a bin next to it for placement of used pens. The Grab and Go breakfast offered choices. The room was clean and fresh. Staff was friendly! The only negative- the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling by the wires. (Reported to staff)

The room was very clean. The location was very good. The staff was very pleasant. There were many items served for breakfast. We loved the choices of coffe and tea. A little bit overpriced though (considering there was not a couch bed to accomodate one of our three sons).

We are Platinum Best Western members. We stay at BW's whenever we can. This site is a great place to stop and stay. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff is accommodating and respectful. he location is convenient for food, easy access to the highway, and quiet at night. During Covid, the breakfast is take and go but The Griddle is just down the street with excellent food. So, whatever your needs are, it will work. We travel through here regularly when visiting family in CA. This is our new place to stay to break up the trip from Boise.

I wiped down the door and everything inside with disinfectant wipes and found nothing on the wipes. This hotel is exceedingly clean. We stayed here twice in one week and found it just as clean the second time. We had a kitchen in our room which we did use. The appliances were newer and also very clean. The hotel staff is very helpful. The pool is between this and another hotel and not the best, but we would certainly stay here again.

I'm from the Sacramento area and my sister is from Boise, Idaho. We determined that Winnemucca, Nevada was in the middle and each drove there to spend time together during this pandemic. Our stay was delightful!! I was impressed by their socially distancing practices and the quality of the beds! For a small town in the middle of nowhere, it was wonderful! The breakfast options were ample and satisfying, even though they were limited due to the circumstances. We will definately stay here again!

Long trip and stayed a number of places. This hotel staff clearly cared about preventing Covid-19. Despite increasing cases nationwide this is the only hotel where I and my family were safe due to staff Thoughtfulness. I would stay here again anytime I was near here.

Concerned about COVID19, but not wishing to again drive 15 or 16 hours straight through from Portland OR to Las Vegas NV, we decided, this time, to book two nights at our halfway point: Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn (Winnemucca NV), and only stay the second night. This way, we reasoned, the room would be left untouched for the 24 hours prior to our actual visit. We also stipulated a first floor room (to avoid an elevator) and an entrance that would allow us to access the room without going through the lobby. The staff was totally unfazed by these unusual requests. They could not have been more accommodating and congenial. The room was super clean and comfortable. We spent a relaxing evening, woke up totally refreshed, and discovered upon examination of our invoice that we had only been charged for the one night (even though the room was left empty the previous night). These are wonderful people, and we will choose to stay in this hotel for all our future drives to Portland.

We stayed here as a stopover so we didn't spend a lot of time, but we were very impressed with the hotel and staff. Extremely friendly at check-in. It's tough to grade a hotel with the COVID guidelines but the hotel was clean and the lobby was set up well for the staff/customer safety. Also, there was a small protest going on in town and the police there were extremely pleasant and the townspeople were very pleasant and friendly. We were very impressed with Winnemucca and would definitely use this as a stop again.

We really liked the hotel, it was very comfortable and clean. We had no issues at all. We had two pets with us and we were all treated very well. Breakfast was very good. We will definitely recommend it!

This hotel is very clean and up-to-safe. Staff super responsive and polite. I'd highly recommend this hotel and I'd stay here again. Had breakfast options the whole family could enjoy and felt safe going outside.

I must confess it was my first time Winnemucca but the city is very charming and the hotel staff were very professional, in fact all of them had mask and rubber gloves not just for their safety but ours too. The whole general cleanliness of the hotel was very good and that was reflective in the room. We did enjoy our experience.

During the Corona virus pandemic, I was looking for a quality hotel that I knew could and would assure me of a totally safe and clean room that hadn't been used the previous night, if not longer. I feel very safe in saying I got the safest room possible, not just under these circumstances, but under any. All in all, a great experience. I would stay there again any time.

During these days of quarantine, some travel is necessary. We had to travel home. It was great to find a very clean motel that was open for non essential travelers. They took great care in providing a wonderful breakfast all wrapped up for us. There was no food left uncovered. Check in and check out was a breeze with very little contact.

If you've gotta stay in Winnemucca, this hotel is a nice spot. Not all that much to recommend Winnemucca, except it's halfway to SLC :) Nice breakfast including scrambled eggs, ham, fruit, cook-it-yourself waffle. Warm syrup would've been the cat's meow !!

I was in town for 2 weeks for business. It was a nice place to stay. Everything was nice and clean. They served a decent breakfast. I do wish the had the breakfast tacos more often! :) Friendly staff. Would stay again if I'm ever in town.

Three of us were traveling, all seniors and we all had a great night sleep and a delicious breakfast! Traveling through Nevada is tedious and long. This stop far exceeded our stop in Vegas. Wish more hotels were this high quality.

Upon entering staff was very greeting and lobby was clean and inviting. It smelled clean and the room was kept very nicely and felt like home. They offered cupcakes at the front for arriving guests. And the fireplace to relax in the lobby

This hotel was recommended to us by my sister. She also stayed here on her way to visit us. But this time we were going to visit her. She said it was a nice hotel and she was right. We couldn't have been more pleased. They met all of our requests. If you ever have the opportunity to stay here you won't be disappointed.

I always stay here when I travel to visit my daughter and family. This is a lovely hotel and everyone is always courteous and friendly. The breakfast has a fair amount of selections and everything is very clean.

This hotel seems to be in the middle of nowhere but it is a beautiful hotel! The rooms were large, the bath products were top of the line (and included bath salts!) and the staff was amazing. The best part was that I was traveling with my dog and other hotels have made us fell unwelcome. The Country Gold Inn welcomed my dog with dog biscuits and lots of affection. The area around the hotel has lots of easily navigable space for good walks and doggy bags are available in several places around the exterior of the property. There is a bar/restaurant next door where I called in my order and they brought it out to me. (Also lots of fast food places in town.) This hotel, by far, earned the title of Dog Friendly,

The king bed room is huge with a couch, chair, and desk, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee-maker. The decor is modern and clean. The room heater fan is very quiet, and we got a great night's sleep. The lobby is spacious with couches and a big fireplace.

Clean room, friendly staff. WiFi didn't work well. Breakfast is typical Best Western crappy food. The room rate was the highest of the other similar rated hotels and overpriced given there was extremely low occupancy at the time (8 guests the night we stayed).

We had a fast check-in and enjoyed yummy cupcakes at the front desk at this older but well-maintained motel. We had a large, poorly lit room with comfortable furniture, large mini-fridge with freezer, microwave, and good AC. There were two well-lit bathroom sinks, one outside of the toilet/shower room. I appreciated the makeup mirror. The bed was comfortable but sagged in the middle. We had a good breakfast with hot items served in a cramped eating area. The town is pretty rundown and dead. We had a so-so dinner at The Pig BBQ nearby.

Very nice hotel great location walking distance to casinos and restuarants. A great breakfast buffet in the morning with lots of options. The rooms were spacious and very clean.Friendly staff members.

Staying at this hotel has mostly been a pleasure, the staff was nice, the room was comfortable, for the price the breakfast could have been more of, the coupons we were given was of little help. Traveling from CA to CO and back we stayed in BW Plus hotels, this one was the most expensive and to be honest I didn't see a good reason way.

King corner window room, large room with sofa. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean and well kept. Walking distance to small casino and restaurant. 10% coupon for restaurant. Morning breakfast bar in lobby had typical motel fare of waffles, coffee, eggs, breads, cereals, muffins, juices, etc. nice place to stay after long day of travel.

Double queen room with kitchen was spacious and the kitchen was great! Bring your own coffee and make a full meal in this nice kitchen. Phillies and need were comfy and shower was strong . Really nice that no casino was attached to this hotel.

Our one night stay at BW Gold Country Inn was perfect. The manager who greeted us was friendly and most helpful. She quickly solved a problem with using my BW points and suggested a nearby restaurant including menu suggestions. Rooms were clean and spacious.

The check in was easy with nice front desk staff. We got a very large king suite with kitchen, sitting area. It was comfortable, roomy and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was quite at the end of the hall. We realized that we really enjoy a larger room when traveling. We would definitely stay here again. There is a breakfast place called The Griddle that serves breakfast and lunch. Such a great diner with excellent food.

This Best Western is very nice, in excellent condition with very large rooms, they're very friendly. includes a hot breakfast. they very close to the casinos. I was just passing through Nevada on my way to San Francisco

Nice building, 2-floors & elevator. Our room was really nice, had (2) chairs, one w a foot stool. A bench @ the end of one of the beds. Super nice people. Pros: Cupcakes, bed comfortable, nice pillows, room had fridge, micro, coffee. Shower was nice (light over shower area), towels were soft. Water was super soft, which makes u feel slimy. Breakfast had eggs, sausage,waffles,cereal, bagels, danish, boiled eggs, yogurt, english muffin Con: Off site Fitness

This was, by far, the best BW we stayed at on our trip. (probably stayed at about a dozen over or 4 week road trip.) The staff was friendly and helpful when asking about nearby eatereies. The cupcakes at check in were an extra plus. Would certanly stay here again.

BW Winnemucca is well run. All staff we met were friendly and professional. Room was clean, spacious, beds very comfortable. Breakfast was typical BW, good variety, well stocked by staff. Wifi is excellent. An added bonus for us was Tesla Destination Charger (level 2, Tesla fitting plug). Very convenient as we didn't have to wait for the car to charge. Charging overnight took about 7 h from 60 to 300 miles. A bit faster than our level 2 home charger. The charging area as well as the hotel grounds are well maintained. The only problem we had was a slight knocking sound we could not pinpoint. After checking out the usual suspects (AC, heater, clock, fridge, etc) we gave up. The noise seemed to move around, like water pipes expanding or contracting. At first I thought it was going to drive me nuts all night, but I ended up with a decent night's sleep after all. For runners, there's a trail up the hill close to where the W is carved into the hill. Check it out on the trails app. Best start very early. It's in full sun. The hubby sent me nice photos from up there though. :)

I feel like Best Western used to be a great hotel to stay at that accommodated families. My last 2 stays at a Best Western left a lot to be desired. We stayed at this hotel twice on our way to Lake Tahoe & back home to Boise, Idaho. Breakfast was okay. Would be nice if they offered some extra toppings for the waffles. Most hotels have a few options like whipped cream, fruit etc. What really was disappointing was there was 0 highchairs for children to eat breakfast, so we had to try to get plates for everyone and take our food back to our hotel room with the toddler in tow. The people at the front desk were rude and didn't even apologize, just a short "NO" when we asked about a high chair. I cancelled my upcoming reservations at another Best Western because I am just so disappointed in their lack of care for their loyal guests. The Best Western in Venture Beach is also a joke!

Excellent Service and excellent Breakfast, with speedy check in and check out. Excellent Room decor and loved the hot cookies. Looking forward to out next visit. Enjoyed the dinner at the casino next door.

I was impressed for a 2-3star hotel. It was clean and the rooms were big. We were comfortable and breakfast was better than expected in the morning...at least it offered a variety. (sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc.) I would recommend it!

A convenient and comfortable stop when travelling interstate. Very well maintained property, and for the moat part, reasonable rates. Although on this stop I felt the rate was very high. Rooms are large, with comfortable beds.

Floors were disgusting. After my socks turned black, I tried wiping a small section of the floor with one of their wash cloths. The cloth was filthy after seconds. Besides that, everything else in the room seemed fine.

Clean, spacious, free breakfast, easy to find, we are big fans of this place with the possible exception of price - hard to arrive late, leave early, and spend that much. That said, if traveling with kids it's a great stay given the swimming pool and the size of the rooms.

The motel has been remodeled and upgraded. Nice size rooms, comfy beds. Breakfast in the lobby is typical hotel fair. But it is filling. Good location to events in town. Helpful staff. It is clean and the parking is close to entry and exits..

Aside from BW's always being clean, friendly and affordable, they also are great with pets. When I checked in with my English Pointer I received a fleece blanket with a Milkbone attached for my pup to lay on. So thoughtful and a great idea!

Check in was not friendly, instead it was perfunctory. They had cupcakes at the front desk which is something I've never seen. They were full size with heaps of frosting piled on top. The hotel has two floors and an elevator. The rooms on the north corner are best accessed via the stairs. All of the rooms here are huge and they have two sinks - one in the bathroom and one just outside of the bathroom so two people can get ready for the day at the same time. The AC worked nice (it was a unit high on the wall which surprised me) and the bed was comfortable. Our king bed had an easy chair and a sofa with coffee table as well. We liked our corner room as it had two windows. Breakfast here is solid - they have scrambled eggs, sausages, full sized yogurts (including Greek), cereal, pastries, bread, waffle maker and bananas, apples and oranges. Coffee was weak and the OJ drinkable. I enjoyed the hot oatmeal. I liked the water cooler and filled up my bottles. We found a really nice employee that helped us drag our suitcases down the stairs (we were way for from the elevator). That was appreciated - there are some friendly people who work here!!

Rooms are 5star and gym is awesome 24/7. Been there for a while and BW has been letting you feel its a home away from home. Make sure to book here because its center for everything in town. Very clean rooms. The lobby smells so good always. The gym is located at the back of the hotel across the street which is 24/7. The equipments are highly advanced. the yogurts are so delicious.

We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the refrigerator and microwave which we used to heat our dinner so we didn't have to go out again. It was conveniently close to the sights we had chosen to visit.

The BW Gold Country Inn staff was professional and very friendly. We felt as though we were visiting friends! Large guest rooms with all the amenities. The room was furnished with a couch, settee, comfy chairs, two ottomans, large desk, six lamps, and a comfortable bed. The easy-to-adjust thermostat did not require a degree in electrical engineering. The something-for-everyone breakfast was served in the lobby, which was filled with bright, natural light. Restaurant, located in casino next door, is a short walk to dinner.

The location is convenient, the staff is friendly and professional. The roo.s are both clean and spacious. There is a restaurant in a casino about half a block away that has plenty of food for a good price.

Hotel clean and well appointed. Room nice size; included a very comfortable couch. Bed very comfortable. Quiet, easy access, fresh cupcakes at check in. Staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast average fare. Coffee available at all times.

I think this was the nicest hotel I have stayed at. From the person checking me in, to the one checking me out were both friendly and did their job great. The dog got his own blanket and dog treat at check in. There is a pet fee. The room was great, large, with a couch and chair, plenty of places to plug in electronics. Two sinks. They put me with a dog on the end by and exit near the pet area on the ground floor. The breakfast was great. I was thrilled with this place and I already have a reservation for my return trip on the way home.

Hotel is near the downtown area. It is quiet, clean and friendly. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Small refrigerator and microwave in room. Plenty of pillows. Only five minutes from freeway exit

This is a nice place to stay in Winnemucca. Breakfast wasn't bad. The eggs were way over cooked but they offer a nice selection of cereals. Convenient to restaurants and casinos (within walking distance). Will definitely stay again if going through Winnemucca

Great nights stay. For a few extra dollars, this place was clean, newer and the staff was great. I really enjoyed the fact that it had no casino, the lobby did not smell of smoke. In the morning I had a good quick breakfast before hitting the road. I will definitely stay here again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We were traveling with our dog and when we checked in they gave us a little blanket for dog to lay on and a little treat. The room felt big and the refrigerator had a small freezer in it, which was great for all my freezer packs. I liked that they had a few grassy areas to walk the dog in and not just a big dirt lot. I would definitely stay there again. We were on the street side of the hotel and thought that the traffic noise would be bad but it wasn't.

We have stayed there 3 times and always find it comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with lots of high quality pillows. We had an accessible room that included bars in the bathroom. There was no seat in the bathtub. There was also a generous amount of towels. One of the sinks had a moveable magnifying mirror which my husband loved for shaving. The room was a king with a couch, easy chair, and a desk with a chair. There was also a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast was the usual fair with some hot items, waffles, yogurts, fruit, and muffins. Our only 2 complaints were the excessively soft water and double with our room keys. It felt like it was impossible to rinse off the soap in the shower. There was also a problem with 4 room keys not working and having to return to the desk desk multiple times until a correct key was made.

Check in was fast and easy and we got a nice welcome bag with the rewards package. The room was nice and clean, beds and pillows were excellent. We had breakfast before we hit the road and the options were excellent. Did't have a chance to enjoy the pool because we only stood one day. We were traveling with our dog Bentley and he was relaxed and happy here. Good place to stay. We will stay at Best Western from now on!

This hotel is very well designed AND very well put together. Most unusual. The layout of our suite was excellent - sitting area, sleeping area, kitchenette area. Appliances were modern, matching and functional. The bathroom was private and they even put the exhaust fan over top of the shower, where it belongs but almost never is. Happy to recommend this to anyone.

Nice, clean, well maintained, good location, dependable. Popular, so you want to make sure you have a reservation. There is nothing special about this place but it is the best you can find in this town. No amenities such as a pool or gym (there is a pool next door at the casino hotel). A decent breakfast, better than a traditional 'continental' breakfast. Lobby is getting tired and needs remodel, but it is serviceable. Rooms were just remodeled. Grocery store, dining, gambling all a short walk.

Arrived late at night, as we were just stopping to spend the night while traveling through the area. The room appeared to be a bit dated, but were spacious and clean. The free breakfast had enough choices to be satisfied. Overall it was a nice stay, but nothing exceeded expecations.

This was our second stay at the Winnemucca Best Western, and both stays have been really enjoyable. The only really negative thing that I can say about this stay is that I couldn't connect to the WeFi and had to go to the Check-in desk with my laptop. The clerk at the desk took four or five minutes to secure a connection and had no explanation. Other than that, the stay was great.

Mostly nice hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast was somewhat limited with two hot items plus waffles but more than most stays. The real problem is with the beds. No one in our party of four could sleep very well due to the extremely hard mattresses causing tossing and turning all night long. When I stepped out of bed, I did not feel rested and was dreading getting back on the road. One plus is, it got me to go to breakfast early. My wife did find hair in the bathroom.

We have always had good service at the hotel. It is clean and the staff are friendly. It is located close to shopping and restaurants. Easy walking distance to everything. The scenery of the mountains are good especially with sunrises and sunsets.

Whenever I travel through Winnemucca I always choose the Gold Country Inn. Good value, clean rooms, centrally located, good breakfast and next to many restaurant options and they also takes pets when applicable.

Easy to find. Close to gas stations, markets, restaurants. Comfortable rooms. Great beds. Perfect stop for a trip between the Bay Area and Boise. Winnemucca is the gateway to Highway 95 north to southwest Idaho.

Surprisingly nice hotel in Winnemucca. Rates were reasonable, the room was terrific, and within walking distance of a wonderful Chinese restaurant. Upon entering the large doors, it looked very welcoming. The front lobby is spacious with a granite counter, water feature, friendly staff, had nice furnishings, large seating area with a huge television. The large hallway connecting all rooms was wide, had nice lighting and possibly new carpet. Our room was large and clean and looked to be newly remodeled. I liked the seating area, good size desk, lighting options, large television, sanitized TV remote, and the amenities in the bathroom were good quality. Morning breakfast included fresh coffee, juice, yogurt, eggs, potatoes, and all the usual offerings with plenty of places to sit. Overall, one of the best Best Western's I've stayed in.

Stayed here on the way from Salt Lake City to Lake Tahoe. The lady at the counter - Sev - was extremely friendly and nice. Rooms and beds were OK, linen even great. They have an arrangement with a pretty good gym across the street that's open 24/7. The bath was awful though - it drains to about half full, so you can't even submerge. Some hairs in the tub, otherwise pretty clean room. Breakfast was standard and decent.

I have stayed here several times for business trips to Winnemucca area. I like it, as in the title - it is clean, quiet, and pleasant. Nice lobby, coffee and tea, breakfast. It is also in a good location, walking distance (from 1 block to several) to several good restaurants. Most hotels in Winnemucca are also close to restaurants. I would say this is in the higher range for Winnemucca.

Winnemucca is not a large town but it's interesting. We were there one night heading home from Utah. The room was very comfortable and super clean!! Employees were very nice and helpful! Told us their favorite places to eat. Which were good! The free breakfast was great also! Lots of hot coffee!! Would stop there again if driving that way! Very easy access to freeways and gas stations!!

I really like this hotel and I almost always stay here when I am passing through Winnemucca. This time I think it was more expensive than the last few times I used them. The rooms I have stayed in have always been great and the breakfast is pretty good too. Everything is clean and I like having the fridge and micro in the room. The pet fee is reasonable.

I have stayed here multiple times with great satisfaction. This year there has been a steep increase in price that will force me to look at other accomodations. I regularly travel during the week, avoiding weekends when there is a higher demand.

My husband was not able to make the road trip with me, but he reminded me to try a Best Western as he had some sort of "discount" I could use there. I did pull in, was welcomed warmly in the beautifully decorated lobby by Ashley and another young woman with brunette hair (sorry I forgot your name!), and given a lovely room with a discount for my husband being a Veteran! Room was clean and tidy and offered a sustaining breakfast the next morning.

Overall, this is a very good property. The check in and check out were both quick. The reception area was nicer than most and had a nice Christmas display. The cupcakes they give were very good. Better than the cookies that most hotels have at check in. The room was very large and clean. Breakfast was about average for best westerns. The only negative was the price was a little bit high, but I think all in the area were higher than most cities similar to this. It must have something to do with the mines nearby. Again overall a good stay. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived late with our 13wk old baby and found the staff at checkin helpful, however once in the beds were uncomfortable, the water is cloudy we cleaned baby bottles with cold bottled water, and found the bathroom covered in pubic hair and more hair found on the beds in the morning. We did not even shower checked out and will pass this one by in the future. Very surprised by the lack of cleanliness and poor experience from a best western.

Usual Best Western, clean, friendly staff but abit outdated when it comes to decor of rooms. Room price is much too high but worse than that is the Humboldt County hotel room tax. US$16. Highway robbery. Breakfast area is small and becomes overcrowded easily.

My friend who pretends to be a diva "only stays at Hilton" La-Di-Da. Well, she and I and our spouses came to Winnemucca for a wedding. No Hilton so she begrudgingly booked a room here. I ALWAYS stay at BW Plus if there is one. She called me from her room and said it was super nice. Damn right it is. Check in was in a beautiful lobby and our rooms really were nice, clean and spacious. I did have a little problem with my Best Western Points but it all worked out. We sat in lobby after the wedding and visited and it was all very nice. You won't go wrong staying here, its a nice classy place.

We always stay here on our way to Idaho. Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast selection is very nice. the staff is always very friendly and helpful. We enjoy the noon checkout time. We look forward to staying here. They are a pet friendly hotel and we plan on bringing our bunny on our next visit

Passing through and stayed one night here. Foyer and gust reception friendly, decor nice. Breakfast buffet, well organized, sufficient dining area. Rooms, of which we had two queens was clean. My only gripe was that bed mattresses were old, springy in a negative way, pillows had seen better days, linen was thin and worn. Felt like thousands had use this bed over the many years it has been in service. If mattress isn't a priority, this would be a great BW stop.

Wow. Everything you'd ever need and more. Its spectacular in every way. Personality, smiles and check in was a snap. Room was gorgeous, inviting and the amenities over the top. Thank you for a great restful night.

The Best Western is an excellent choice if you bring a four legged family member or notRooms have been re-done, ample parking, hearty breakfast, and very helpful staff.Beds are extremely comfortable; excellent TV with a variety of stations, and theinternet is reliable.

This hotel is one of our places we love, neat, clean, quiet, and good service. Food is excellent, workers are helpful and efficient, we love coming here on our travels. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

First off, I stayed here with points. I wouldn't pay $150 for a motel in Winnemucca, period. As the title says, it's an OK Motel. Nothing exceptional. The high point was the bed. It was very comfortable. The low point was the snarky lady at the check out. Overall, things were OK. nothing overly bad nor good. The breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Not much else, and a very small serving area. Internet showed 4Mb on fast.com. Not too bad for Winnemucca, NV on DSL.

I searched out a Best Western hotel as part of our road trip as we have had good experiences in the past, they offer family rooms which accommodate our family and include a great breakfast for a very reasonable price. At this location, when we checked in we were given a room with old 2 beds despite booking and paying for in advance, a family room (3 queen beds) We were then told that there was already someone else staying in the family room. The only option we were provided was for them to call another hotel to see if they had a family room free, fortunately that hotel had a family room. However it was a casino Hotel and stank of smoke. We had chosen this Best Western location as it was half way between two stops on our road trip, this meant a 13 hour drive to get there. Arriving exhausted with small children, being put into the wrong room, then having to explain to staff that we had booked the family room, then pack our children up and move to another hotel added an hour and a half onto an already long day never mind trying to deal with the smell all night. The staff offered to honour the rate we had pre-paid for. It after finding out the room rate at the other hotel was significantly cheaper, this just adds insult to injury.We were unable to speak with the manager directly despite arriving 8:30pm and we left before they arrived I. The morning but did ask to be contacted. We have yet to be contacted by this location.We used to search out Best Western hotels for our family road trips, I will be looking for other options for our return trip.The ratings for cleanliness is based on the hour we spent in this hotel trying to sort out this mess.

The hotel was pretty clean. The room was spacious. Very expensive considering the area and lack of amenities. Breakfast was okay, not great. WiFi is terribly slow. The room never cooled off even with air conditioning. A lot of noise through out the night, probably because we were right next to the entrance door to the hallway. Overall okay, but too expensive.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Gold Country inn. I usually get the Kitchenete suite being that I stay longer than a week usually but I actually stayed in the Double Queen Standard this time. Stay was good and would stay again.

The room was very spacious, with not only a comfy chair and ottoman, but a full-sized couch and a bench/ottoman for my comfort with another higher bench at the foot of the very comfortable king-sized bed. I spent more time than usual in my room because it was such a great space!

We stopped at the hotel as a halfway point to our final destination. We weren't expecting much more than a place to sleep but were overwhelmed by how nice this hotel is - and the staff some of the best we've experienced. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Love that they have Dish instead of the typical hotel Tv where you don't know what is on. The Bath and Body Works soaps and shampoos an added bonus! Roberta on breakfast service was a superstar, front desk incredibly friendly and helpful. Gave us loads of advice and dinner recommendations. We enjoyed it so much that we planned our return trip through Winnemucca too despite having other options. Huge kudos to the hotel and staff.

BW standards are crashing . NEVER EVER would they have allowed a location flying their flag to look as gross as this The breakfast ? We had a great 60 anv. traveling through winamucca nevada and our stay at bestwestern. Help full staff for disabled folks. The easy access to room and breakfast was great and we did not have to go to another place to eat. We would recommend this place to anyone using a walker because of open spaces to get around.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very quiet. Walking distance to several restaurants. Pet friendly with nice pet areas and bags for clean up. LARGE selection of breakfast items. While a little on the expensive side....Would definitely stay here again.

Pool has a large indoor pool and a large spa. They both seemed quite clean. Room was large, fairly clean, Carpet had spots, could use a cleaning. Beds comfortable. Very good breakfast. scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sweet rolls, assorted juices. I was travelling with my three children so having a full free breakfast makes the extra charge for the room worthwhile. Tghe biggest issue was that we stayed for two days and the room was not cleaned between the first and second day. We were carefull to move our luggage to one location, stack the dirty linens, etc. to prepare for cleaning. I made sure the don not disturb sign was NOT on the door. The lady came by to clean and we told her to come back in about thirty minutes and we would be gone. We left for the entire day hiking and exploring and did not come back until late at night. We were VERY dissapponted to find that the beds were not made, trash not emptied, linens not replaced. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and brought us towels, but this has never happened at a hotel before, and since we were so exhausted it seemed like a big deal at the time. I'm assuming it was a mistake, so this does not reflect in my overall review. Overall The hotel was good and I would probably stay here again.

When you are out in the middle of nowhere, prices seem to increase. Nice hotel with a kitchenette, which would be nice for long stays. Very appealing looking hotel with nice large rooms, but way overpriced for what you get. Twice the price of any other Best Western I stayed in during my 10 day trip.

There was a large generator right outside the room that sounded like a vacuum cleaner running all night. The carpet was so dirty my socks were black in the morning. The bed was very uncomfortable and needs replaced.

We really didn't know what to expect from this facility. It is not new but NEW doesn't always mean GOOD. Our experience was delightful. The staff were very friendly, the rooms clean and unique: they were much larger than most hotel rooms, very well appointed with two sinks and vanity areas: one inside the bathroom and one right outside of it. There were a large selection of toiletries and soaps and a large number of TV channels. The room was quiet, bed comfortable, and everything worked well. Breakfast was above the ordinary complimentary experience and several choices available. The breakfast area was well situated with lots of tables and chairs. The location of the hotel made it available to nearby restaurants and other amenities and there is a supermarket right behind the hotel. We would definitely stay here when passing through Winnemucca again.

I stopped overnight at this hotel on a trip to Lake Tahoe, CA. I had a very nice room and got a good nights' sleep. The free breakfast the next morning was great. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants.

No one warned me when I checked into the hotel, much earlier this evening, that the air conditioning is down. Apparently, It has been working only on the first floor—-no one told me, even after I requested a second story room. The room on the second floor smelled so bad that when I arrived I was forced to open a window. I didn't realize that the air conditioning wasn't functioning, until I closed the window and there was no change in room temperature after turning on the air. Otherwise, I would have changed hotels. I'm here on business which means I need sleep. I confronted the staff they had no answers. They offered only a move to an even smellier pet room on the first floor, which would necessitate my opening a window to the hot night air—no solution at all. This hotel was never my first choice. After tonight, I will not stay here again. The way events unfolded is simply unforgivable.

Decided to overnight in Winnemucca on our way home from Hot August Nights, Reno/Sparks and give the 57 Chevy a break from the hot desert heat (and us too!). Great staff and room accommodations; breakfast attendant was observant and attentive ensuring hot and plentiful food during our time. Desk staff, especially Debbie, were caring, outgoing, and helpful. Housekeeping staff also shared fresh, home-grown veggies!! Walking distance to casinos and sports bars. Very relaxing; will make this our Hot August Nights half way mark next year.

check-in went very well. very nice and happy clerks. great cupcakes .ummm. room was very clean and every thing was in good order. internet was pretty good. breakfast was very good and the staff was really o her toes. check- out went very well. so, off into the wild blue yonder we went.

Rooms are very clean; spacious and well laid out. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choices. The staff at the hotel is over the top nice and accommodating. A cant miss stay here. This is my THIRD stay. A bonus: They are DOG FRIENDLY and my retriever loves them!

This is a nice BW. THe front desk staff is great, the rooms are decent sized and clean & comfortable. Outdoor pool is good on a hot day, Chihuahua's is just down the street. Breakfast is not skimpy. I would stay here again....

Overall it is conveniently located the rooms have comfortable beds they have a continental breakfast it's walking distance to the restaurant for dinner the parking is easy and free that's free Wi-Fi and in general the staff was friendly

We drove in from Bend, Oregon, and there was a lack of rest stops along the way. Not the hotels fault by any means. Room was the best we stayed in on our vacation.up to this point. Front desk staff was wonderful. They recommended we eat in the Winnemucca Inn, which is on the other side of an adjacent property they hotel has. Still, it is a short walk and I have COPD and did so easily. Supermarket (Ridley's) is behind the hotel on 4th street. Winnemucca Inn has a casino, though small by Vegas standards. Breakfast was good, but the OJ was not. I took one sip and could tell it was past expiration date. Would have given a higher rating otherwise. I you are fueling up, go to the Flying J. It is west of the BW .

Clean rooms, great breakfast, comfortable bed. I was just passing through but would definitely take more time on my next trip through. I stayed in a king suite that had a full, clean kitchen and a nice bathroom

We stay in Winnemucca every 4 months and have given up on the Holiday Inn. The Best Western is much more up-to-date and much more pleasant to deal with. The hotel is clean, A/C everywhere, good pool and very nice rooms. We had two rooms on July 16th, 2018, one couple and one Mom with two kids. All were very pleased with the accommodations. We will make this our stop from now on.

We had three queen size beds in our suite. The breakfast was better than most places we stayed. There were several hot options, a nice selection of sweet breads and drinks. The beds were quite comfortable and the room was clean. It was rather pricey - there's no place like home:) Check-out was later than most.

Check-in was easy. Our suite had three queen beds, with one of the queens in a private bedroom. Really like the two sink separate bathroom, making it easier for the four of us to get ready in the morning. Breakfast had a nice assortment of hot options. The pool was nice, but no restrooms. Towels and keys available at front desk. One of the better breakfasts we had on our vacation. Pricey.

Stayed here on last leg of 3,000 mile journey- it was a good choice. Large room, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, quiet. People were nice. Breakfast was not spectacular, but it was fine and the area was large. Check in was fast and efficient.

Huge rooms! Nice and modern decor! Two sinks! Very nice hotel. Super clean. Bath and Body Works products for cleaning up are SUPER nice. Bath salts are provided as well! Great breakfast. Exceeded expectations.

This is a clean hotel with comfortable beds and a nice continental breakfast. Our room was spacious and the bath products were great. The staff was helpful and polite. We will definitely stay again, if we travel through this area again.

We were at the end of the hall on the second floor. Very quiet. Large room. Great mattress! I had really low expectations for the breakfast, but the eggs were well cooked, sausage and potatoes were also excellent. I highly recommend it.

I have stayed at this facility in the past and knew what to expect on arrival. I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly, my room was roomy and clean. I would stay here again on future trips. The breakfast bar was about average but the coffee was excellent. I forgot an item of clothing in my room and called the motel from down the road. I was returning to Montana by the same route and they had it wrapped and ready for me when I went by to collect it. Thank you.

Nice place to stay, Quiet, clean. Ee have a kitchen, But no colander, measuring spoons, & cups. Basically bring your kitchen with you. Thats the problem. I have no room in my car to bring the kitchen.

Clean and pleasant property. Makes a good traveller stop on I-80. Breakfast was good - a bit cramped in the lobby but acceptable. Suggest the local Pizza/Brewpub (Winnemucca Pizzeria) for dinner - excellent. The "Plus" properties are a cut above the regular Best Western properties.

3 stars is not a negative. 3 is A-Ok which is what my room was. It was a comfortable place to lay my head for a couple days as I was in town on business. Convenient location. The hot breakfast is better than the bagel and toast option many places offer - not as great as some others. I have no complaints. My room was clean and quiet. The wifi was not fantastic - either it wasn't working or it was working super slow. I ended up just giving up and using my phone as a hotspot.

We generally stay at Best Western motels when we are on trips, and usually find them a very good choice. This trip was no exception, and the Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn in Winnemucca follows the same pattern of cleanliness, comfort and cordial employees that we have come to expect from the Best Western brand. Located in a very small community, there was absolutely no skimping on service and quality at this motel. We were very pleased with the entire experience.

We always stay here when traveling through Winnemucca. This time we stayed the first night and the last night of our trip. The rooms are always clean and smell fresh. Everything is in good working order. On the trip home there was some kind of motorcycle event going on and the hotel was crowded. The breakfast area was very crowded and many foods had run out, but this would not stop me from staying again. The prices are affordable. The breakfast is adequate and the coffee is good. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. I tried to buy water from the vending machine; it took my money but did not give me the water. When I went to the front desk not only did I get my money back but the desk clerk also gave me two waters. There are good restaurants, shopping, and casinos within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again.

I've stayed here before and it's even better. The eggs were the best I've had at a BW; watery eggs is my perennial complaint, and these weren't. Very accommodating for us and our motorcycles. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We were just passing through to Reno and stayed one night here. I enjoyed the hotel, breakfast and room. I have nothing bad to say. Everything was clean and comfortable. I love the Bath and Body Works accessories. Great location. Easy to get off of the freeway and then back on the road in the morning.

The room was fine, with both a fridge and microwave and two queen beds. The road outside the window gave us some traffic noise which died down later on. The breakfast was ok for a complimentary - plenty of fresh fruit, waffle machine and choice of pastries. Winnemucca was full of bikers and it was great to see all the bikes in the car park.

Very clean, easy access from freeway and to local services. The staff was helpful and friendly. In the midst of remodeling - delivery of furniture was a bit confusing for everyone. Great value - will stay again on our .

Great room, Great staff. Breakfast bar was excellent with a large selection of different foods. Plenty of free parking. Made reservations for return trip. Would absolutely stay here again and spend more time in Winnemucca.

I forgot my pillow in my room. BW Winnemucca called to let me know and I was able to double back before leaving town to pick it up. I really appreciated the extra effort of the house keeping and front office staff. Thank you!

Just spend one awful night at the BW Plus Gold Country Inn in Winnemucca, NV. I requested a “quiet” room. There was little to choose from so we ended up in 201 on the second floor. I doubt there is a worse location in this hotel as far as proximity to road noise. You will hear traffic from BOTH the rear and front of the hotel. As if that wasn't bad enough, the overpowering scented deodorizing spray used in our room was enough to choke you! Even with the window open fully, it was still nauseating for hours. If you insist on staying here, bring plugs for your nose and ears. The icing on the cake was the rude and unprofessional staff at the front desk. I've been traveling this year and have spent over 45 nights at various hotels. The woman on duty was by far the most unfriendly I've encountered in all my stay. As for me, I'm done staying at all Best Westerns and I'm a rewards member. If you're in Winnemucca, I recommend staying down the road at the at the Holiday Inn Express. You'll most likely sleep much better.

We stayed here on our halfway to Saint George. It was clean, nice. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. We stayed one night, but booked a room next door at the casino on our way back. It was also nice, and less expensive

After a later start then expected and a storm over the Sierra', we knew we were going to need a place to stay for the night. Rolled into town around 11:45pm the staff was fantastic, gave us a ground floor room at the end of the building, so it easy to walk our dog, the was very clean, quite and comfortable. Check out was a breeze, would definitely stay again.

Great clean rooms, even those used by smokers, you just cannot tell. At least not with how they clean them, and being a cane user I was on ground floor. Which made it nicer too, thank you Best Western for maintaining a few smoking rooms.

It was a good place to stay the night. The bed was okay. The WIFI worked okay. The breakfast was good. The staff is very nice. There was ample parking. The room overall was average. I would recommend this place.

We have stayed in many Best Western Motels, but this one was absolutely the best by far. The staff was friendly, and helped us get a room near the entrance, and on the main floor, since it is hard for us old folks to walk very far.

Stayed here one night. Room was quiet and comfortable and clean. Mattresses great. Complimentary breakfast was good but predicable. Only complaint was that I needed to print out something on the lobby computer/printer and it was out of ink. Front desk person that morning (Feb 10) was unhelpful. Just said that they don't have a replacement cartridge. Expect more from the BW Plus.

We reserved the 2 bedroom suite because we needed the 3 beds that was available in this hotel. There are 3 very comfortable queen sized beds and one is in a seperate bedroom. The room was very clean and the toiletries were Bath and Body works, which was a nice touch. The complimentary breakfast was very good, lots of variety and the Waffles were delicious.

Friendly and comfortable stay. Easy location to get food, walk around, groceries, car washed, had good complimentary cupcakes, good breakfast with lots of choices, good coffee and tea. Great cleanup crew too.

Convenient if you want to be close to the downtown casinos. A good choice among the many places to stay in Winnemucca.

A best Western Plus rarely lets you down. Once again, the one in Winnemucca is an example of that. Friendly personnel and very clean, nicely appointed rooms, great breakfast selection and easy access to/from freeway. Pet friendly!

The Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn, Winnemucca, Nevada is our preferred hotel when visiting family in this town. We always enjoy the free breakfast; which is as good or better than any of the restaurants in town, and without the wait. The hotel is always very clean and the service exceptionally friendly and professional.

This hotel offers a great value! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel was nearly full, but we slept great and it was very quiet. Staff were very friendly and we received a gift bag of water and snacks when we arrived (for being a Best Western member). They have a nice selection of breakfast items in the morning. I would stop here again when I travel through this area.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Great bed. The desk chair needed repair or replacement, but other than that, the room was clean, warm, and comfortable. Great experience checking in and out. Quiet. If you want casino action, there is one nearby. Movie theatre across the street.

This was the second Best Western Plus we stayed at on our road trip. I joined their rewards program because I was so impressed with the hotel and the price. Breakfast was included and was very nice. BW Plus hotel will be my go to when I am on the road and need a clean, nicely decorated hotel for a great price!

We had a good nights sleep here and the front desk staff was very friendly. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable... but the carpets in the hallways are dirty and they need to be replaced in the rooms.

The Best Western is a quiet oasis in the dessert. One thing I dislike about motels is that many only supply one chair in the room. My room had three chairs, one desk chair if you were in need of a work station, and two stuffed chairs if you want to sit down, relax, and watch TV. The breakfast is adequate to get you going in the morning. The Gold Country Inn is a perfect place to spend the night and break uptake monotony of endless dessert driving.

Have stayed at this facility twice in the last couple years and is a great place to unwind after many hours on the road traveling. Close to everything as it is on the main street. Great breakfast area and food was great...employees were very pleasant, yet professional. Our room, each time we stayed, was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We will stay here again for certain.

The room smelled good when we walked in. The bathroom had Bath & Bodyworks amenities - "Rain Kissed Leaves" shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and bath salts. The bathroom had great lighting and there was a swivel mirror by the sink outside the bathroom. There was a table and a computer table. There was a refrigerator and microwave in a cabinet. The complimentary breakfast included an egg omelet and cubed potatoes as well as breads, waffles, fruit, fruit juice and yogurt. They do have an elevator. The lobby was really nicely decorated.

I travel on the I-80 corridor frequently, and have stayed at Gold Country Inn a number of times. Recent renovations and upgrades have greatly enhanced the visits and stay. The breakfast is hearty and varied.

There is nothing really wrong with this hotel......just don't stay in room 148 right next to a transformer that starts up at 4.00......at ends at 5.30 am. The front desk staff were more interested in chatting then in looking after guests. The breakfast choices were pretty miserable and nothing like we had experienced in the previous BW Kennewick which was superb. No one was rude...but front desk were particularly unprofessional, and uncaring.

I have stayed here a few times over the past 8 years and have always been very satisfied with the quality of the rooms and the friendliness of the employees. I always get a king room and there is plenty of space for my husband and I and our 2 cocker spaniels. This time we got the handicap accessible room for my husband. It was spacious and had everything we needed. We asked for a shower chair which was provided quickly. The breakfast is pretty good and we were both satisfied. There are luggage carts and an elevator in the lobby if you need them. All the employees that I have dealt with have been pleasant and very accommodating. We will always stay here when we head to our daughter's home in Boise.

We pass through Winnemucca two times per year and our top choice place to stay is the Best Western Gold Country. Clean rooms, reasonable price, great showers and comfortable beds. Each room has a small microwave and refrigerator. I like the fact that there are two sinks, so if one is taking a shower or using the white porcelain throne, the other can use the separate sink. Good selection of fruits, waffles, cereals, egg, potatoes, yogurt, etc at the free included breakfast.

My occupation brings me to the Winnemucca and Elko areas frequently. There are several other choices for lodging in Winnemucca and I have tried several of them over the years. I keep coming back to the Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn because it is clean, comfortable and a good value. I highly recommend staying here.

Clean, reasonably priced hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is really good, so are the cupcakes in the afternoon. It is centrally located and there are restaurants and casinos nearby. The rooms are clean and quiet. I recommend you try this place when travelling through Nevada.

Service was very good. Rooms were clean and hotel was well kept. They serve real eggs not powdered at the breakfast buffet. We were a large soccer group in town for a soccer tournament. Our room had a kitchenette which was very nice. The gym is an actual pass to a full gym across the street.

Zero complaints, was brief but great experience will be staying there again in the near future. Only a suggestion is better selection on cable channels that is not required to pay extra for , but that is what you run into at all hotels so not a negative against them just a thought for all to maybe grasp onto, Thanks

This was an okay place for one night. I appreciated having 2 sinks and a large king size bed. The hallway and rooms have a faint smoke smell. The walls are paper thin, I heard doors slam and toilets flushing all night. The breakfast in the morning was mediocre.

When driving between Sun Valley and Northern CA it is hard to find good accommodations to break up the trip. So I was delighted to stay at the Best Western Plus Gold Country in Winnemucca, NV and find it clean, comfortable, convenient, mostly quiet, helpful, friendly and providing a refrigerator, WiFi and breakfast. The receptionists helped me find a near-by restaurant for dinner that served a good grilled salmon.

We have stayed here numerous times and have always had a favorable experience. It is within walking distance to a number of restaurants, freeways and shopping. It is quiet, the beds are comfortable and the rooms, lobby and parking lot are clean. Would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. In fact we have.

Our night in Winnemucca was very pleasant in this hotel. We stayed on the second floor and it was quiet and comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and courteous. The room itself was clean, but the OCD in me did notice that the hallway carpets were caked with dust along the walls where a push-vacuum brush doesn't reach. Not a big deal for most "normal" people, but for clean freaks like me, torment. The urge to find a broom and start sweeping was so compelling that I had to avert my eyes while walking to out room...but that probably says more about me than this very nice hotel!

This was the last night of a two week cross country drive, so were were getting pretty tired. The friendliness and quality of this facility and its staff were just what we needed! Of the 8 or nine motels we stayed in during the trip, this was one of the two best overall, and definitely the very best for value! Best room amenities, too!

After a long day of driving the staff at this BW was welcoming and helpful. The room, a 2 queen, was clean and comfortable, no road noise keeping us awake. Breakfast was good for me but my daughter is vegan so very limited selection for the plant based diet. Nut milk and yogurt would be great for the lactose intolerant as well as granola without whey or honey.

Winnemucca is the best place for us to stop for the night, when driving from Salt Lake City to our home in northern California. The Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn is our favorite place to stay in Winnemucca! The rooms are attractive and clean and the free breakfast is unusually good. (Staff turned us on to a tasty and fun, family-style Basque restaurant in town. Be sure to ask them about it.)

We stay here if we have to stay. We were on the 2nd floor and was quiet and comfortable. We had double queen bed with a kitchenette. Skip the breakfast bar and head over to The Griddle restaurant a couple blocks down. If you need a pet friendly hotel this is it. They have a few rooms on the bottom floor for you

If you are hard of hearing, or have no problem sleeping through a constant tapping sound coming from the ductwork in the walls, then you will sleep comfortably in this pleasantly furnished hotel room- it was clean, nicely situated room layout, with double sinks for the "water closet" as well as partitioned separately from the toilet, making it convenient for multiple people to get ready while another can be doing their "business". Bath and Body works is always a plus when you stay at a Best Western chain, but if you stay here thinking about a good night's sleep- forget it. For those of us who don't sleep through a constant sound of S.O.S coming through the walls, perhaps you think you might spend your sleepless night mindlessly surfing the internet while you hone your decoding skills- but don't bother, because their internet is so patchy you can't do that either- you will just get more irritated. At least you can look forward to breakfast of powdered eggs, gravy without anything to pour it over, and your standard preprocessed cereal and bakery items found in truck stop hotels for 1/2 the price. The hotel morning staff assured me that they knew of the issues. That was reassuring. Plus side is you will have to check your bill twice because even though you think your reciept states your correct charges, your credit card will be charged an additional $20. (This charge is supposed to be removed.) Room was clean, and the housekeeping was friendly.

A hospitable staff, most thoughtful, pet friendly including a sheet cover for the bed for extra pet protection...brilliant! Clean, comfortable bed, amenities good, breakfast complete, great coffee places in Winnemucca if you need or want it. Definitely recommend for people with dogs.

I enjoy staying at BW Plus hotels often for the price, food, hotel, & room accommodations. However, the lobby appearance at the Winnemucca, Nevada BW Plus is large, spacious, & quite beautiful facing the main street. When breakfast is in full swing, the food display is cornered & extremely crowded with people running into one another. I often indulge with oatmeal in the morning & enjoy cinnamon to flavor. I asked the staff for cinnamon & she did not understand what I was asking for because she did NOT know English.......really?

We were really surprised and very happy to have found this best western. Winnemucca is not a big town so you won't always find a big well known hotel chain. The hotel is nice, clean and very comfortable.

The room was nice and comfortable. The fridge and microwave worked well. The beds were comfortable. The rooms was suprsiengly quite for the amount of people. We were not woken up by the noise of other people or doors. Breakfast wad fair. The carpet and curtains were very dirty. We have 2 small children so it was very obvious to us. The staff was helpful and friendly. Overall we were pleased with our stay. We had wished the floor was cleaner but we know it is a hotel and hard with little kids.

It was a welcome sight after a long drive. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The lobby is quite impressive and spacious. Breakfast is also served in this area. It was right next to a casino but was quiet. We had a room at the end of one wing where one could exit and enter from the side which was quite convenient. Walking distance (behind the hotel) was Ridley's, a supermarket. The suite (for 4 people) was clean, quite spacious and well furnished. It had a mini-fridge as well. The 2nd bedroom was much smaller but it has its own TV which was a welcome sight. The bed was very comfortable and they provided so many toiletries. Breakfast was quite ample and offered a variety. Parking was not a problem at all.

A fine motel choice in Winnemucca. Ample parking, fast check-in, very professional and courteous. Room was downstairs and area was always quiet, very clean, all items worked but our WiFi...never could get or maintain any connection. Bed was comfortable and large. Dual sinks in bathroom area was a treat for us. Never had chance to partake in breakfast due to our schedule, but the breakfast area was larger than we normally encounter and very clean/orderly. Having stayed in several of the other properties in Winnemucca over the years on other trips, this is easily the best place among them all. We will definitely recommend and return when in the area again.

Nice comfortable bed. Two sinks in bathroom (one separate from toilet and shower). Only stayed one night, but wouldn't hesitate a longer stay. The parking lot is large and well lit. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was just right for our early departure.

We were only in for 2 days, hotel was great, rooms were well kept and clean, staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Parking was easy and well lite, breakfast was pretty good typical of most Best Westerns. Hotel is pet friendly which is great. Only complaint WiFi is really bad unless you are in main check-in area which is nice and a comfy place to sit. Everyone in town was just super friendly. We will totally stay again

In a town that used to have nothing but dives, this is a welcome change. Clean, large breakfast room , sink outside the bathroom, large flat screen t.v. Around $138 depending on discounts. There are cheaper alternatives but this place is good.

this is a very nice Bet Western. it is exactly what i want when i travel, and has everything that i need. it is what i expect from a Best Western Plus. my room was good-sized and furnished very well, everything you could ask for, giant screen TV, fat WiFi, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, iron & board, hair dryer etc. good work desk and exec chair. VERY comfy bed with clean fresh linen. a little pricey for out in the boondocks, paying Sacramento prices in Winnemucca.....

We had a nice overnight stay in Winnemucca. My only concern was cost as it was more expensive than others we stayed during our road trip. The ovenight lodging options are very limited in this small town.

Overall a very pleasant stay at this Best Western. The Breakfast was great. Also having coffee and cookies available to snack on in the lobby was a nice touch. Our biggest complaint was the clicking/dripping noise coming from the attic into our room which was annoying. Secondly the carpet had some kind of grit in it so when you walk around in your bare feet it stuck to your feet and was uncomfortable to walk on because it didn't feel clean. Aside from that, it's a nice hotel that is located close to a lot of places to eat which is really handy if your from out of town and don't know the area.

Great place to stay; however, every attempt should be made to reserve a room prior to stay. Was appalled to find porno channels on the TV! It seems to me they should be blocked from even listing. Other than that, yes, I would stay at the facility again.

I have stayed here regularly over the past 5 years and I travel a lot around the USA on business and Gold Country is consistently a great value. Rooms are clean and neat, breakfast is fresh and well attended. The internet is good quality and FREE...I am tired of paying for internet that is10% of the room price.

Good location, easy to get to when on a road trip. Can park and walk to several options for food and even a couple of casinos. The hotel itself is very clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and friendly staff.

Five stars for the front desk staff. Room was clean which is most important but general maintenance could use some help. Upholstery on chair had a very obvious hole, hallways needed to be vacuumed. And went for a walk and noticed one of the screens on bedroom window was partly pulled off

Hole in carpet and one armchair let down the room experience. Otherwise a nice one night stay at end of long road trip. Close to a favorite restaurant, PIG BBQ, just down the block. Hotel is one of the nicest ones in Winnemucca.

Beautiful lobby. The staff was very helpful. They showed us how to work the very strange bathtub drain and TV remote. My wife and I consider ourselves tech savvy, but the TV remote was a mess. Powering the TV on and off was very difficult to figure out. Simple written directions in the room would have solved our problem. The woman at the front desk said that they were NOT ALLOWED to post such directions.

Very clean and great staff. We were on our way to Lake Tahoe and this was one of the few locations in Nevada were we wanted to spend the night. Thanks to Noemi at the front desk for her wonderful service.

Coming from the UK on a tour of US National Parks , Winnemucca was just a stopping off point/staging post and the initial impression driving in to town was less than impressive frankly so we were delighted to find that the hotel was excellent and the town centre much better.

Just a one night stay. What a surprise. A very large King room. More like extended stay. Full size fridge/freezer, mic, stove, dish washer, and basic utensils. Room was very large and we could comfortably stayed for several days. Breakfast table with 4 chairs, king bed, love seat, easy chair, and desk. Our room and all areas of the hotel were clean and well maintained. Friendly front desk staff. Breakfast area was of a nice size with the usual hot breakfast items. Parking was adequate and this hotel is very close to several restaurants as well as interstate access. Highly recommended. I can't imagine there is a nicer room or hotel in this small city.

If traveling without a pet, make sure you request a NON pet friendly room! I was traveling with an asthmatic child allergic to cats and dogs. I was unaware that because I don't travel with a pet that I could possibly get a stinky, chemical filled room.

Winnemucca is a stop for us on our way to California. This is not a destination town unless your here to gamble. The Best Western is a decent hotel in the middle of town. The breakfast is OK, but nothing special. We have stayed in other hotels in town, and this is the best.

The hotel staff were very unprofessional upon arrival and on the phone for booking. The hallways were very dusty and not very clean. The hotel room door was left wide open with the T.V on when we arrived. The staff did not advise us about the pool and amenities. When they did after walking 3 times to the pool area they advised us the key didn't work and there was a latch. There wasn't a latch but a very difficult button to try to reach. Other hotel guests were having the same difficulty. When we told the front desk the staff said it was all the same. During breakfast which is bu the front desk a staff member was loud and you could hear her tell the potential customer on the telephone, very rudely, that it wasn't her job to know about a location of something. She put her on hold and then called to another staff in the breakfast room, where other guests were, about the client on the phone. It is just unprofessional. I would not stay here again and would look for another location.

We have been on vacation and try to mainly stay in Best Western motels. The shower needs some work on it otherwise the breakfast was very good and the coffee was very good. Staff was kind and helpful to us.

We passed through Winnemucca twice -Once in July on the way to the Oregon coast and again in August on our way home to St George, UT. Front desk service was excellent and well-informed about the area. Nice lobby. Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Wifi was good. Breakfast was very good in the lobby.

Most hotels have very noisy air conditioning units where your choices are to be awakened when the air conditioner kicks in, or leave the fan running all night, but you still may hear the compressor kick in. Either way, it is NOISY! This one is just right - not under the window where the curtains get in the way, and it IS VERY QUIET!

This Best Western Plus Hotel in Winnemucca has just claimed the permanent spot for where we'll stay when spending the night in this community. Its lobby feels like a resort lobby. Its rooms are clean and comfortable. It is quiet. The staff is wonderfully attentive. The breakfast ranks as the best I've had in a hotel - so many options, so fresh and delicious, and so clean and timely. The staff recommended a variety of restaurants for our dining pleasure that were in easy walking distance of the hotel.

The customer service in this hotel is phenominal. Every single person that helped me from the afternoon until morning was such a great help. Shayla (?) was awesome to get me in early before check-in time. Naomi and Daisy were great help to find great restaurant. They recommended the Winnemucca inn and the martin hotel. Also when I couldn't figure out how to work the television they sent down James who taught me exactly what to do on the remote. Sara was very nice early in the morning and helped us with directions and where a gas station was. Thank you all for a great experience!!

This hotel desperately needs a remodel. The beds / pillows are horrible and everything is steeped in smoke. The cleanliness of the room was below average - we put shoes on to go to the bathroom from the bed. Keep on going to Reno if you have a choice.

Booked queen room, check in was easy. Comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable, flat screen tv, microwave and refrigerator. Complementary breakfast was standard and came fully stocked. All staff were very friendly. Outdoor pool just a short walk through parking lot. Would stay here again.

Right from the beginning the stay could not have been better. We arrived early and the reception desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty to locate a ready room on the ground floor. Breakfast was excellent as was the departure. We will definitely be going back.

Just passing through, went to two other hotels, sold out, rodeo in town. I got their last room, kitchenette, still a great bargain. The room was clean, large and the staff was personable. Super comfortable bed. The breakfast in the morning was much larger than expected and had staff available for any questions and cleaning of the station. The front desk agent in the morning wanted to hear about my trip and had some great suggestions about the next time I visit. I had some luck at the casino directly next door, which made the stay free. Even better!

Clean, courteous, modern. Everything works as expected. The front lobby (where breakfast is also served) is impressive with a two story high glass wall. Restaurants within walking distance. The small town of Winnemucca was a refreshing respite from big city bustle.

It was a very clean, nice room on the second floor. It proved to be a quiet location. Registration was fast and efficient and the staff very friendly. The motel is ADA & has an elevator close to the front door.. Parking is adequate. There are a variety of restaurants close by. They have what I call a standard breakfast available-eggs, a meat,waffles,etc. very good for the price.

This is our preferred motel in Winnemucca. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, clean and quiet. The breakfast offerings are complete with hot eggs and sausage. And they are very accommodating to travelers with dogs. We recommend it!

My wife and myself were very pleased with this hotel. Of course we always like to stay at a Best Western because we already know the qualities. The hotel staff is always attentive and the room are clean.

We made this our halfway stop on the way back from an Ironman race in Santa Rosa, Callifornia. Winnemucca is pretty much halfway between San Francisco and Slat Lake City, so the majority of travelers are just passing through, just as we were. The hotel is a gem, and compares very favorably to the St George Abbey Inn, which for us has been the best of the best of all the Best Westerns we've stayed in. The rooms here are large and roomy, the location is quiet, the beds are very comfy, and there are some great food options nearby (Sid's for dinner, the Griddle for breakfast). We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we pass this way again.

Unexpectedly one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed at. Very well laid out and very comfortable. The concierge was very friendly and even lowered the room price as I hadn't selected the cheaper option when booking. There is plenty of food around the hotel all within walking distance. Overall a great stay!

I'll start by saying I would ABSOLUTELY stay at this hotel again. It was very clean, quiet (in spite of lots of children during my stay), nicely appointed, very comfortable bed and had a very, very good staff. However, despite the fact they were working on it, the AC was not adequate. I'd read reviews prior to my stay and many mentioned problems with the AC. ATTN CORPORATE: This property would be PERFECT if you'd OVERHAUL THE HVAC. (Side note: Only rating sleep quality as "very good" because I have chronic sleep issues, so sleep quality is relative. However, I got MUCH more sleep than I do at home and I did find the bed comfortable.)

Hotel exceeded our expectations! Spotless rooms, comfortable beds, nice furnishings, and large rooms. Breakfast included a wide variety of items. Hot tub is huge, pool fun! Overall wonderful experience!

This hotel is top-notch, from the condition and quality of the room and customer service, to the array of breakfast items. We requested a certain location of a room, (away from ice maker and elevator) and they accommodated our request - which has not happened with other hotel chains. Makes us very happy travelers!

Great room and dog friendly as well. The staff recognized and acknowledged my Best Western status as soon as I gave them my name and thanked for me being a loyal rewards member. The entire front desk staff is awesome, courteous and very friendly. The rooms are clean, well set up and they even have extra sheets for the dogs to sleep on. I have stayed here more than once and will continue to do as I travel through this area again. It is a great choice to stay at and you will not be disappointed.

Very pretty hotel, nice view, loved the Hawaiian hazelnut coffee, pool was nice, beds were a little stiff, need more pillows, would recommend and stay again, loved the chocolate peanut butter cupcake upon arrival!!!

My husband and I traveled through on our way home from a wedding and we did not book a hotel in advance as we were unsure of where we would be stopping. All of the other hotels we called were booked up because there were several firefighters on their way to California. We were lucky to get the last room available in the Best Western which was a kitchenette suite. It was clean and comfortable although the decor was a little outdated and the hallway had a somewhat unpleasant odor. The staff at the front desk were not rude but not overly friendly either. The price was high but that was partially our fault for not planning in advance. The hotel is a decent choice if you're in a pinch.

This is a lovely hotel with lots of amenities and charm. They go out of their way to make your stay very comfortable. It is in a city with not much around, s it is a very welcome site when we get there.

OK, lets be honest, if you're spending the night in Winnemucca you're either on the road and passing through, have something to do with the RR or construction or are a rodeo cowboy. For me, I'm on a Harley and just passing through. This is a new and nice BW. The lobby is well appointed and the rooms are new, not beat up and well maintained. It is a comfortable house with a number of close by restaurants and stores. Convenient to Interstate 80 I have to believe it is one of the best, if not the best, place to put your head down in Winnemucca. But I was most impressed by the front desk staff. Polite, friendly, professional my check in lady on the afternoon of July 24 anticipated the little extras that the road warrior standing in front of her after a 300 mile ride would need and enjoy. If for some reason I found myself in the same situation again, i would definitely come back.

We stayed here on the last night of a week-long road trip. The hotel was very nice and we had a large, clean room on the first floor. We were traveling with our dog and they left two extra clean sheets in the room so we could cover the bedspread and have her sit with us. The front desk staff were pleasant and the breakfast staff were friendly and kept bring out new food so they didn't run out of items. Because there were inside halls, we heard a little bit of noise but it was still relatively quiet. Would easily stay here again and we enjoyed dinner at the Pig BBQ one block away. Also took a nice walk downtown in the evening from the hotel.

It was triple digit degrees when we hit Winnemucca and checked into Best Western. Was very pleased to find a very large and clean room. One issue was that a fire had come through and burned the phone towers so there wasn't any WIFI in the whole town. Also breakfast was very tasty but the layout wasn't very efficient. Several people were standing around waiting for breakfast items. Otherwise will definitely stay again!

I had a very spacious and lovely room. It was quiet and clean = my only issue was with the television, I lost the signal when ever I turned it off not much fun when you are watching a sporting event, The staff tried to help but the problem kept happening otherwise the stay was excellent,

I've stayed here more than once and this property has always been clean. The staff has always been friendly and the rooms comfortable. Centrally located with easy on/off freeway access. The continental breakfast is the standard fair.

I am very picky when it comes to hotels. On a 2 week road trip and this was the greatest. This has to be the nicest in Winnemucca. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff, nicely decorated rooms, quiet, loved the soft water, bath a body works soaps as well as bath salts. Most hotels don't provide enough towels but this hotel provided many. Great hotel and the price was perfect.

The hotel is centrally located to Winnemucca. The staff is friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The was the second time we stayed and the first time with our pets. The "pet friendly" room gave us immediate access to the outside and was very clean, which is not always the case with other hotel chains.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good with eggs, sausages, waffles and various pastries offered. The eggs did not taste like they were from a package.

This place was indeed a good hotel and it was very quiet leading towards a good night sleep. Thank you for the fine service and support from the desk staff to the room service. I felt it was like home to stay in this Best Western Motel.

Stopped here on our way to Yellowstone for the night. Not much in Winnemucca, but this served its purpose well. The room felt a little grimy with my daughter's feet getting dirty within minutes of being barefoot on the carpet. However, we just put our flip flops on whenever not in bed or shower. The a/c worked very well. Our toilet handle kept slipping off and that was a hassle but for one night we dealt with it. The breakfast the next morning was quite nice for a small continental in the lobby. That alone saved us the cost of an additional meal on the road trip. Pleasantly surprised overall.

It's everything that you need for an overnight stay next to the interstate. Clean, comfortable, friendly, and quiet, with a decent free breakfast on top. Not the cheapest place in town, but worth the extra few dollars.

My wife and I stayed here one night on our way from Omaha to California. The hotel was fine, clean, AC worked well, allowed us to choose the temp, room had a microwave and a refrigerator. When we travel, we prefer to eat in the room, not spend time in restaurant of get fast food, so we can eat healthy. Room was $161 with tax, a bit pricy for the location in the middle of Nevada. But, unless one wants to pick a different city, It's what's available.

This location consistently provides outstanding service prior to, and during, stays; the hotel team is well-organized to accommodate and respect lodgers, and has always represented this hotel chain admirably. Our groups have stayed at this Winnemucca location on numerous visits to northern Nevada, and will continue to do so on future trips.

This is the location and the hotel that we choose to stay when traveling for business. I design, build and deliver custon one of a kind furniture and we have stayed at Gold Country Inn several times over the past few years. We always find it to be comfortable, quiet and relaxing after a long day of driving.

This was our second visit to the Best Western in Winnemucca. The rooms are big and comfortable. When we arrived the shower was leaking. We called the front desk and Todd, the maintanence guy, came and fixed it immediately. He was so nice and helpful! We enjoyed the outdoor pool. Someone left their wallet on the chair next to us. Just when we were wondering what to do with it, Todd came out and got it because the owner had called looking for it. The breakfast is great. They have the regular continental breakfast plus hot food like eggs, sausage and waffles. My youngest son was so excited to see that the waffle iron actually had the Best Western logo like the commercials! We were most thrilled with the elevator because they didn't have one on our last visit. We will definitely stay there again!

Although we could see a major street through our window, our room was quiet. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The room was well equipped with a nice refrigerator, microwave, ample towels and toiletries. There was a nice large eating area for breakfast and a good selection of food. All the employees were helpful and courteous. We will be back!

This hotel was the best ! Delicious, fancy mini cupcakes at check in, perfect room with a sink in the room with the tub, and another sink and vanity outside of the tub room(great setup for 2 people getting ready at the same time),and the casino across the parking lot had delicious pasta, The breakfast was a cut above other hotel breakfasts. The sausage, eggs, and pastries were actually GOOD! Helpful, friendly staff, too.

This Best Western is a half way point between the SF Bay Area and Salt Lake City. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always clean when we stay there. All the room entrances are indoors and the complimentary breakfast is very good for a free breakfast. Lots of things to choose from both hot and cold. We have stayed here in the winter and in the summer and the room temp is easily adjustable.

We have driven through Winnemucca at least 50 times and we usually just press on because the motel options are so awful. This place was clean and well appointed--Bath and Body Works toiletries, a fridge, nice finishes. The lobby is updated and the site of a very nice free breakfast. We had a corner room which was huge. You can walk to The Pig for good BBQ and any of the three close by casinos. Sarah, who works the overnights, was very nice and lent us a corkscrew. Worth the stop.

Thus us a really nice motel and the staff are so helpful. We will definitely stay here again. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the coffee was worth taking on the road!

The hotel reservation process was easy and staff was helpful. The new lobby looks great and location is perfect. We had another great stay, just wished I played better golf. Not sure that was your fault though.

Best Western Gold Country Winnemucca We have stayed here four times on our annual trip from Colorado to and through the Northwest. I hesitated to write a review prior to this visit because they were installing an elevator last year, the absence of which would have docked them a bit. Unfortunately, we did not get our requested room 205, which is a corner room with a nice view of the mountains. We did get a room around the corner, 204, which was just as nice, and was an indoor corner room, so had only one neighbor. This is a large room with a king sized bed. The pillows are very large, but unfortunately very hard. It wasn't until we were getting ready to check out that I discovered soft pillows in the closet, so no points lost. The room we had was very quiet, in spite of facing the Main Street in town. There is a love seat, comfy chair and decent dresser, as well as mini-fridge and microwave. The TV is quite large, somewhere around 45", and comes with free HBO, and a ton of channels. The shower has a variable head with settings from hard stream to soft to massage. A shower mat is supplied, and please use it, otherwise the tub is quite slippery. This may be in part because the water is incredibly soft. There are a couple of cosmetic issues in the bathroom but otherwise the room is perfect. When we took the room the AC was going full blast, and when we came back from dinner the air temperature was 82F. The outside temperature was near one hundred F. We discovered that the curtains were blocking the air return to the AC, so we just used a suitcase to hold them back. Still, the air temperature didn't hit its target until about 7AM. The Internet was spotty, and strangely nonexistent in the lobby. We don't recall this from prior visits. Speaking of the lobby, it is beautiful. There is a lovely water feature behind the desk, and a large TV on the wall. There is ample seating for breakfast. Breakfast is quite diverse. There is cereal, oatmeal, fresh waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, pastries, Jimmy Dean sausage and cheese sandwich, some fresh fruit, quite a variety of coffees and teas Apparently there is an outdoor pool, but we did not see it so cannot comment. Back to the elevator. This was a needed addition, since the last three visits we had to schlep out considerable baggage up the stairs and down the hall to our rooms. The only negative thing I can really say about the whole hotel is that the elevator floor needed cleaning, and that even only about a year old, it looks like the elevator took a bit of a beating. There is a grocery store across the quiet street, along with a Chinese restaurant (closed on Mondays, shock of all shocks), which is about average, and a halfway decent BBQ place. There are other restaurants within a short walking distance, as well as casinos, if one is so inclined. I recommend this hotel to just about anyone. The staff is friendly and efficient, the breakfast hours are generous, six to ten AM. And it is convenient to the interstate and to other side roads.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the entire place was well maintained. The staff was courteous and helpful. We have stayed at a couple of other places in Winnemucca, but this was the best, and we will definitely stay there from now on when we pass through.

Clean and safe feeling. Tiny walk to the electronic casino next door. The bed was the best, very comfy!! Staff was friendly, pool was clean. Plenty of mountain biking very nearby. Plenty of great places to eat outside of the casinos.

Good location in the northern part of Nevada. Enjoyed our stay here; no surprises. Excellent breakfast service, with quality products. Easy location for our next day trip up to Tahoe. Staff was helpful in our search for a local grocery store.

The entire property, from parking lot to our room & breakfast area, was comfortable and clean with all of the "necessary" amenities and then some. Stylish, comfortable, feel-good decor, 2 sinks in the room, micro & fridge, great mattresses & pillows, padded carpeting (that felt good after a long drive), small sitting area & substantial business chair (for those of use who can use more support than the edge of the bed provides), etc. It was just what we needed to get refueled for the next leg of our trip. (We did not use the pool, so we don't have any feedback in regard to that..)

Friendly staff, treated upon arrival with no waiting. The room was very clean and large and included large microwave and refrigerator. Very quite and ample breakfast. Plan on staying on my return trip.

Iot my days mixed up. But the It was over Memorial day. I think the staff was very gracious. The breakfast was kind of messy because everyone came down at the same time almost. also they were having a motorcycle

after 8 days in motels across 4 states we were very pleasantly surprised at the very nice quality of this room & beds were awesome and breakfast was good. Beautifully comfortable large room. Thank you we needed that--- Our first Best Western but we will be glad to choose another again...

The rooms were clean and roomy. Love the fact there was 2 sinks with mirrors in our room. The lobby and breakfast area was also roomy a homey feeling. The pool was a little walk across the parking lot but nice when you got there. Liked the fact it was walking distance to the closest casino.

Checked in by a smiling young lady at the front desk. Hotel is half way to Salt Lake City which was our next stop on the way to the Denver area. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good. Will stay certainly stay here again on future trips east.

We got a room very easy, we have 2 small dogs, the pet area was real convienant. Debbie was the front desk person, who checked us in, she was so nice. Breakfast was very good had all the trimmings. Large room and very clean. We have stayed here before, and will again.

The Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn in Winnemucca, Nevada is quite simply one of the best Best Westerns we have stayed at anywhere. The lobby, where they also serve the included in room price breakfast, is spacious and attractive with floor to ceiling windows, a gas fireplace and a big screen t.v. above it. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean and the beds are comfortable. A big plus for me is that the windows open. I always sleep better when I can have fresh air so I try to avoid staying in hotels that have hermetically sealed rooms! Also, after seeing the other hotel/motel options in Winnemucca, this Best Western is definitely the best hotel in town.

This hotel is my go-to hotel when passing through. I always can count on it being clean, nicely appointed, having a good breakfast, and pleasant staff at the front desk. I have always, without exception, arrived late at night, and totally exhausted. Sometimes I have reservations, sometimes not. Once I arrived late, without reservations in the dead of winter in a snowstorm, and the clerk insisted I have nice pet room for my dog and provided that at no extra charge. The rooms are very nice and the beds are like the expensive ones I have at home-totally comfortable.I have arthritis and don't sleep well. A good bed helps. This is probably the best hotel in Winnemucca.

I was surprised that this motel is top rated by travelers. The room temperature upon arrival was around 77 degrees. A little too warm for us. I asked front desk if there was problem with our rooms, but after maintenance looked into it it was issue with hotel. There was no AC that night and slept with window open listening to street traffic most of the night. Upon checkout I was not asked how my stay was, but I had to ask for discount due to warm rooms. The manager gave me $25 per room discount. I asked if AC would be working next week, manager couldn't confirm. She made excuse that motel had new maintenance men and season change and wasn't apologetic about my experience. Additional items of complaint: tub drain drained slowly in bathroom, hallway carpets were filthy as my toddlers feet were filthy black colored, and general maintenance seemed to be lacking in motel overall. Proper management of this property I think is lacking based on my experience. I can't compare to other motels in Winnemucca, but I can't go back to this one with my family.

This a a first class hotel In the desert. The rooms are very well laid out and well appointed . The staff are friendly and polite. If I ever came back this way I would make a point of staying here. Room is amazing,the price is worth it.

My night stay was a great place to rest up before my next drive of the day. It was Easter Sunday and even the check-out clerk was proclaiming the special day. Very restful, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again, should I stop in Winnemucca.

Best Western Plus is a great hotel! They have really improved over the Best Western motels. Great breakfast! Clean rooms! Comfortable beds! Fast check-in and check-out. Friendly service! I recommend this hotel.

I am excited to report that my stay at the Gold Country Inn Best Western Plus in Winnemmucca was wonderful. Great Staff, Great Rooms, and a great price to boot! Winnemucca is a place where most people stop as part of a long journey. The lobby at this hotel is welcoming. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was adequate but not amazing Two complaints. The Wi-Fi was essentially non-existent in our room and the air conditioning didn't bring the temperature down, even though it was on full force (and this was in April, not July). Unfortunately, these are two things that I really need in a hotel room.

Room was extremely clean and the staff and fellow guests were very friendly! The ice machine worked as well as everything in the room. We were given bath and body works shampoo and lotion and was even given bath salts for a nice relaxing soak. The only downside was the location, Winnemucca has so many bugs outside that I had to clean my windshield twice but it was covered just as quickly.

Nicely remodeled hotel, very comfortable and all the amenities I needed for a business trip. Hot breakfast was good, the place is super clean and the wi fi was decent enough. With Best Western Plus, the company seems to recognize finally what a modern hotel is and what business travellers need.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Décor outside and in was superb. Room was large and beds were comfortable. Room was very clean. An additional vanity area outside the bathroom for a second person to get ready. Had a nice size refrigerator and microwave. Quiet and safe surroundings. Variety of television channels. Excellent Wi-Fi Service. Free Continental Breakfast had a variety of hot and cold food items. Quality of food items were tasty. Highly recommend staying here.

Amenities such as the Continental Breakfast was delicious. Breakfast offered hot and cold items. Waffles, Eggs, Sausage, oatmeal, cold cereal, and yogurt Coffee, tea, and juice. Would highly recommend someone staying here.

We checked in late after a long drive and when checking in I wasn't offered a discount due to I'm a long standing member and chose to stay here than the other ones cause I always have a great experience but not this time

Sometimes saving a few bucks is not worth it. Older hotel with low ceilings and worn beds. First room they offered us was musty smelling and we asked for a change. Second room was a bit better. Room A/C was good and quiet... towels were absorbent and staff were attentive and nice.... but....

Last minute road trip changes lead us to spend the night here. Even though arriving ~0200 all was ready for us and the night desk was cheerful, fast, and helpful. Lots of choices at the welcome breakfast buffet. Our room on the first floor was quiet and clean and spacious.

PROS: 1. Excellent breakfast included : scrambled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, sausage biscuits you could heat up, donuts, sausage, toast, waffle iron, fruit, Ok coffee, bagels, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. 2. Comfy bed, pillows with tons of towels. Room also had a microwave, hair dryer, coffee pot, 2 sinks, lots of tv channels and fridge. 3. CLEAN and quiet. (even though we faced the street ) 4. Wonderful staff that were helpful when we switched rooms. ...due to our mixup. (We didn't understand the layout of the 2 bedroom suite in which you had to go through the main bedroom in order to get to the bathroom....the suite was not a good option for 2 couples but would probably work well for a family used to sharing space. 5. Delicious cupcakes available at our early check in. Cons: 1. Even though this hotel is soooo walking distance close to the casino - restaurant, I would highly recommend that you do NOT eat at the casino unless you are in dire straights for an extremely average food option :) (We were extremely "road tired" and opted for walking the 600 feet to the casino....and this was the only negative thing about our Winnemucca stay!)

The outside of the hotel is very nice and the lobby is very comfy with a fireplace. The room we had was very nice. We had two queen sized bed. We had our two dogs with us and they were very accommodating. They had special rooms set aside for pet rooms and they are all on the ground floor. In addition, we were close to the outside exit door. The staff was great and there were even cupcakes when we checked in. The breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries, toast, bagels, juice, mile etc.

The Staff was excellent , friendly and, friendly and helpful. they advised of places to eat , the gym. They even had cupcakes out for checkin. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The General manager was helpful, and accessible . The breakfast was great and the lady who stocks the breakfast items was very nice also. staying there was like meeting with old friends. We stayed there on the way to yellowstone and on our home word bound trip also. Great hotel and staff.

We were very tired after a long day on the road. Thank goodness we pushed the extra distance and made it to Winnemucca. This Best Western is top notch. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was quite a variety of breakfast choices in the morning.

I stayed for business for three nights then returned for another night. Warm and comfortable with spacious rooms. Two king sized beds and kitchenette. Very clean and friendly helpful staff. Breakfast is served in the lobby and includes warm porridge, self made waffles, cereals, yoghurt, doughnuts and fruits. Also, muffins etc available.

Very nice hotel . At least our second visit . Looks good from outside .Very clean and modern . Room was most comfortable and staff pleasant . Went to the nearest restaurant which is at the Casino next door . Even in the furthest corner you could smell cigarette smoke. Made a note not to go there again . We don't do hotel breakfasts but did find a very nice restaurant down the road called the Copper Kettle which was nice. We enjoyed our visit and will return one day and can recommend .

If you have to travel from West Coast to Midwest (or vice versa) on Interstate 80 with a pet, consider the Best Western Chain. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, good locations. For example, we stayed in Newton IA, Cheyenne WY and Winnemuccha NV Best Western Hotels. The staffs in all locations very friendly. Rooms were excellent as were amenities. And close location to freeway. We have done trip twice now and Best Western ranks way above competitive offerings in terms of clean and comfortable rooms, great value and friendly reception of staff. Highly recommend the Best Western Chain along interstate 80!

No working elevator, Not enough rooms on ground level for people with allergies to pets. Pets allowed but poor planning for downstairs rooms with people with post surgery knee replacements. Breakfast OK but other Best Westerns are far superior to this one. Not the quality expected from Best Western Plus!!!

We found the elevator was being installed and inoperable. The desk was efficient and welcoming. The room was roomy and well appointed albeit the decor was eclectic and dated. Everything worked well I including the AC which was reasonably quiet f and able to keep the room cool. Breakfast was in the very large high ceiling lobby with a wall of Windows. The Buffett was set out on granite counters especially fitted to the corner of the lobby. It was refreshing and pleasant compared to the dingy low ceiling rooms usually assigned to be the breakfast room. I do not recall much about the bed but I enjoyed a thoroughly quiet and deep sleep. Very ordinary type facility but it works,with the sad exception of the elevator. When passing through Winnemucca this is my go to place, clean, comfortable and quiet.
