"Best Western is going downhill"
B7265HNmariem, 03 Novembre 2024

The outdoor doors did not lock. Did see some strange behavior in the hallway. Very dirty the carpeting is filthy--need replacement. Wallpaper is falling off the walls in the hallway. Breakfast room dismal and food choices were poor. No maid service. They did enter and took the tip I left but did nothing. Staff was pleasant. Location was terrific. Price was very reasonable.

"Best Western - Colonial Williamsburg Area"
magwi2005, 21 Octobre 2024

Front desk was nice. Homemade sausage gravy on Sunday. Large indoor pool. Met expectations for price. Great location - very close to Colonial Williamsburg. Great for families. Most rooms on main level hallway. Mexican restaurant on site.

"Not the greatest Best Western we've been to"
Cruisingwithcollins, 08 Octobre 2024

The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. We needed a pet-friendly room because we had our small dog with us. The location is very good with nearby restaurants and Colonial Williamsburg a short drive away. Our room was carpeted, which we found odd since we requested a pet-friendly room. We expected some lingering dog smells, but instead the room smelled so musty that we bought a can of Lysol to spray throughout the room. The wall near the AC unit & window was so mushy that it looked like it might crumble, we assume from water damage from the AC in the room above us. It appears that it's been a while since any real maintenance was done. The carpet in the hallway looked as though it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. The doors from the parking lot and the courtyard pool area into the hallway where the rooms are never closed...or locked. Which means they were open for anyone (or anything) to just walk in. The complimentary breakfast was served from 7am to 10am. We got there about 9am. There wasn't a whole lot left and what was left looked like it had been there for more than 2 hours. The plates were gone and there was no attendant. We went to McDonald's. All things considered, we won't be returning to that particular location.

"Sub-par Facility"
Justin B, 07 Octobre 2024

The Best Western standards we expect are not what we experienced here. The hotel has been well used and not kept up. The bathroom tile was dirty and had many replaced, unmatched tiles, the toilet was older and had lots of messy caulking around the base of it. We didn't find a hairdryer in the room, despite it claiming to have one. The "granite" countertop wasn't the right length and was pieced. It took quite some time to get hot water in the shower. The provided bathroom amenities left a lot to be desired. In our room, the carpet was in disrepair and had lots of fraying in it. There were not enough outlets in the room. The bedside lamp was plugged in and the one outlet on the lamp had the clock plugged in it. The room was very humid and the textiles all felt damp. We went to get ice in the ice bucket and it had mildew all in it. The perimeter doors (not in the lobby) not only didn't lock but they wouldn't even shut completely. The breakfast was ok but not rave reviews. We were able to get enough to eat and everything was mostly stocked. The milk that was in the cooler had expired a few days before. On our second night the HVAC unit in the room started to make a weird sound and eventually cut off. I went to check it out and tried to get it back on to no avail. In the process, I noticed the cable tv line run through a hole in the HVAC unit from outside to inside. I went to the front desk to alert them to the HVAC not working around 10:45 that evening. The front desk was very swift and gave me the connecting room next door to move to for the night. Most of the same issues in the room previously mentioned were the same in this room (with the exception of the HVAC). It was damp everywhere, carpet frayed, water pressure etc. Both rooms didn't look like they had been used in a while and had a musty smell to them. In all, I didn't feel unsafe there but was very disappointed in the quality of the establishment for the price we paid for it.

"Stay away at all cost"
Jane H, 19 Septembre 2024

The nastiest most run down "hotel" I've ever been too. Broken, unsecure room door. Heavy presence of mold/mildew order. Broken lamps and shades. Rust on every surface that could rust. Broken down furnishings. Dirty carpet, coffee maker, phone, and remote. Busted TV, phone not working properly. No covers or inspection tags on fire extinguishers. After complaining to what I assume was the owner at the front desk, he hesitantly moved us up to the second floor. The only difference was the smell was less. We would have left but after 7 hours driving after 12am on a Friday there weren't any other options. We left first thing in the morning and did not stay for "breakfast included" hard pass.

"Worst experience on vacation"
Julie W, 15 Septembre 2024

There is no heated pool, no jacuzzi , no clean rooms. There is stains on the sheets, dirty bathroom floors, dried up dog poop on the floors. We stayed there 7 days and had to get our own towels from the front desk. House keeping only came in twice and only emptied the trash and throwed a wash cloth on top of the bath mat in the floor, then came back that evening bringing towels, wanting the dirty ones. Why didn't they take them when they were in the room? This motel has went down so much!!! It's in a great location, but whoever is running it is not taking care if it!!

"Family vacation"
Tour53238128585, 29 Août 2024

Breakfast was different everyda, and hot. Pool indoors so that's a plus when it's raining outside. The employees were very nice and went out of there way if you needed fresh towels. Restaurant and bar attached to hotel. Family enjoyed our mini vacation. Will be returning in 2025.

"STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANNA GET YOUR OWN CLEAN TOWELS.."
Miguel M, 27 Août 2024

Horrible service at the hotel. Their policy is you have to verbally request your room to be cleaned. Even have verbally requesting the room to be cleaned 3 out of 6 days there and hanging the sign on the door requesting the room to be cleaned. They failed to clean the room as requested.. If you want to stay in a room that won't be cleaned and have to go down to the front desk to get clean towels after being at the water park all day. I say stay here..!! I recommend Stay away!! Staff didn't really seem to care to much that the rooms weren't cleaned even after requesting service..

"Good night's sleep and breakfast for a good price."
Tim W, 20 Août 2024

The room was adequate for our purposes. We were out for most of the day but enjoyed breakfast and a good night's sleep. All staff interactions were good. Justin was very helpful. Hallways had a damp smell but the room did not. Pool could use a good pressure washing.

"Great location, but refresh and deep cleaning needed"
Kristi T, 18 Août 2024

On the pro side: good price and excellent location: a quick walk from the hotel and you're in Colonial Williamsburg near The Capitol, free breakfast is adequate for the price (free). On the con side: the room's cleanliness was severely lacking. In the bathroom: tub was very stained and looked dirty; a nest of hair was living on the floor behind the toilet, and when I went in the middle of the night and turned on the light there was a roach (or water bug, according to the front desk clerk when I said something upon checkout). In the bedroom: there was a long, black hair on the blanket (not the sheet or spread--the blanket), and on one of the pillows when I unmade it to get in. When I opened the top of the ice bucket, there was a ketchup stain and 3 spots of mold inside (thought it had a clean bag hanging on it, so cleaning should have seen it?). I just felt gross the one night I spent there. Very disappointing for a Best Western--normally a brand I trust. A refresh and a deep cleaning would revive hope for this hotel.

"Just NO"
travlingal51, 12 Août 2024

Front desk person was very nice. Hotel, not so much. We were told it would be closer for us to drive around and park by the door on the side. This sliding door, however, would not open. My husband took our room keys to another side door, which does not close properly so that anyone can come in. He then came around and let me in. The whole place needs some TLC and some attention to details and cleaning. Our room did not feel clean or properly taken care of. Half the lights in the bathroom were out. Wallpaper peeling and a roach egg on the bathroom floor, gum on the carpet and stains on the bedspread and washcloth. The train tracks right behind the hotel have trains running all night. The breakfast room was sad looking with not much to choose from. An employee came in to bring some bread and had his music not what I want first thing in the morning.

"A visit for the History Books"
Patricia D, 05 Août 2024

The convenience of the hotel to Colonial Williamsburg was great, parking is convenient, and the property felt safe. The pool was refreshing and enjoyable. The fitness center doorway had a sign that read: "Employees Only." Our internet was spotty, and the TV did not work. The breakfast on Sunday morning was ok, but the atmosphere was dark and felt a bit dirty. The staff member monitoring breakfast was doing the best that they could, but did not present a professional appearance. The hotel is older and with older properties come maintenance issues that this hotel is caught in. The "steeples" on the roof were repaired, but not painted, showing off raw plywood. The roof had missing shingles. The room was spacious for our size group and the beds were comfortable. But was not clean - trash on the floor and caked in corners, a wet rug due to leaking toilet that was rocked off its seal. The elevator was damaged so that during our stay it was not usable consistently. During our stay we experienced a storm that produced an electrical failure that resulted in 3 fire evacuations and an extended outage. The staff was incredible and accommodating, keeping us informed when we asked what the next steps were. We decided to stay rather than check out, and for the inconvenience that we experienced we were credited back 100% of the room expense. Very kind and not required. Many people just left in frustration and anger. It would be really wonderful to see this hotel with a fresh coat of paint everywhere and new flooring, a great landscaping job, and a maintenance team that can handle the problems on a daily basis. A housekeeping team (that worked efficiently to keep rooms, halls and furniture clean and fresh) would serve it well also (as a pet friendly property this is a tall order). Unfortunately I think they are caught in the cycle of staffing shortages. It could be a great place to stay. Because we were credited for the stay and much of the disappointment came from the weather related evacuations, I give this an average rating. However, if we come to Williamsburg again, we will stay elsewhere. I don't believe that the cost of our room (~$125 per night) was justified given the property's condition and amenities.

"There are more places far better to stay at."
David U, 04 Août 2024

Electrical issue caused two fire alarms and evacuation. Staff communication was missing. Turned key in at 11;30 and drove home. Ruined family outing to Busch Gardens planned for next day. Will work on refund. But I think my membership in the rewards program will be canceled.

"Fair"
Lillie B, 26 Juillet 2024

Hotel Staff were very friendly. I was Grateful that the desk had 24 hours service since my plane had a late arrival. Checking in and out went smoothly. There was a variety of choices for Breakfast. Restaurant's staff were polite and helpful. Take out orders prepared promptly. Food was delicious.

"Beware of train"
joannawR5712QS, 29 Juin 2024

There's nothing the hotel can do about your room being right next to the train tracks. They are active tracks so expect to be woken up by a train at random times of the night.

"Stop on vacation travel"
Relax53014177504, 29 Juin 2024

Very basic and older hotel that needs TLC. Nice area but had a lot of issues. Those that could be addressed were but HVAC was a big issue along with exterior 1st floor and pool doors not locking

"Super value for a nice place"
BAR845, 15 Juin 2024

Nice helpful staff. Fantastic price. A little worn in places but great value. Breakfast during the week not great. Continental breakfast. Better on Sat with eggs, sausage and waffles. Under $100 a night before taxes. Before the season in June but still a great price for a nice place. Indoor pool. And attached restaurant. Great location. Would stay again.

"Nice place to stay"
neonp, 06 Juin 2024

This was a stop over on a road trip to NC. My son wanted to visit Jamestown again, and I typically book BW sites. Our check in was easy, the room was clean and comfortable. Disappointed that the adjacent Mexican restaurant was not open on Sunday! The kids were disappointed with the pool; it is an outdoor pool with a structure covering it. They said it was too cold.

"Lack cleanliness poor maintenance and breakfast is insufficient"
rhu5668351, 06 Juin 2024

Bathrooms were dirty, property and pool were poorly maintained. Breakfast was insufficient. Guest room tub was dirty, wall paper was peeling. Location of ice maker is an inconvenience if your room is on the 4th floor.

"It was ok"
sgibs0n84, 28 Mai 2024

The check in was quick and easy. Staff was nice. The room could have been better cleaned. There was a slight smell in the room.

"Would Not Recommend"
slbishop0923, 27 Mai 2024

Rooms were not very clean. There was food still left in fridge from previous people. There was numerous cockroaches roaming the room and halls. We stayed as a softball group for a local tournament and all of our rooms were infested with cockroaches. I would not recommend. Beds were hard and not comfortable.

"Disappointment in the execution--especially the pillows !"
William S, 27 Mai 2024

Stayed overnight to attend a family funeral the next day. Greeting at desk very friendly and helpful. Room quiet and clean. Bed comfortable but pillows rock hard--both my wife and I agreed, they need to be replaced or at least offer a choice of hard and soft pillows. Breakfast was mixed. Cereal and sweet rolls were good, but the sandwiches for the hot food to be microwaved were pitiful. Did have cold milk, but uncertain about the yogurt, it tasted and smelled like maybe it hadn't been kept refrigerated. Compared to the breakfasts at other BW, this one is very lacking. Also, had a burned out light bulb at the desk--minor issue as the other bulb provided adequate lighting. Disappointed as we usually really like staying at BW, but this one is at best average.

"Williamsburg visit"
Climber12842620541, 25 Mai 2024

Room was nice as nice and big it was clean. Staff was friendly helpful when I needed directions. I would recommend anyone else to stay there. It is an older hotel but it's in a good location if you're going to go to colonial Williamsburg, I was there for nights and then a full day of seeing the sites had a good time

"Stay here!"
Shirley F, 13 Mai 2024

My husband and I traveled all over Virginia and loved it. We try to keep hotel expenses to under $100 a night. This hotel filled that requirement with class. Clean, friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast, and I had the inside pool all to myself. That huge pool was clean and the water was a good temperature. They say .....you get what you pay for......this place delivers alot for the money!

"Clean and Friendly"
Dave E, 27 Avril 2024

The rooms, and the whole facility, was very clean. The owners and staff were friendly. Most greeted us if we passed in the halls, or were helped at the front desk. The pool was cool temperature wise, and in warmer temperatures would be very refreshing. Just too cool for us to enjoy. Some hotels we've been in would have a musty smell, but this hotel smelled good, no musty or dank odor. Room temperature was always a nice temperature after we set it, and maintained itself. Everything was provided as we requested. We ate breakfast each morning, a good hot and cold meal variety.

"Location can't be beat for the price"
Tantalika, 08 Avril 2024

Stayed here November 2023. It's clean, comfortable and the location is amazing. Easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg. We were traveling with the furbaby and booked a pet friendly room. By far the least expensive option in the area. The indoor pool made me sad I didn't bring a swimsuit. Breakfast was included and was completely adequate.

"What you should expect "
danmcgoo, 15 Mars 2024

50-75% of every other "nice" hotel. if you are expecting a Marriott at this price then you will be unhappy with anything in your budget. What you get - an awesome location. Dated rooms but they maintain them so other than 2000's wallpaper/rugs, things are in decent enough shape. An indoor swimming pool which is great off season. Breakfast was enough. Towels were scratchy (expected), water pressure could be slightly better but not unworkable. Clean sheets and comfortable bed. Definitely would stay again.

"Could have been a five star hotel"
Stephen G, 02 Février 2024

Room was immaculate and well furnished, beds excellent, amenities very good, staff top notch, promptness of fixing a problem top rate. The location is perfect for visiting the various historic sites in the area. Also close to downtown shopping and restaurants. Restaurant on taqueria bonita is a 10 out of 10. Ask for Amanda. Breakfast a disaster and unacceptable.

"An Excellent Experience at an affordable cost."
Winston A, 16 Janvier 2024

The Best Western Williamsburg Historic District was a great place to stay for me, and my family. We were there January 12-15, 2024. The staff was very polite and helpful. They knew the area well, and gave us helpful tips, and advice about the area. The Front Desk Mgr Jim was very professional and pleasant to us. I give him, and his staff an excellent grade for their service. The Hotel served a Free Breakfast and it was excellent. I recommend this particular Best Western Hotel if you or your family will be visiting that area in Virginia.

"lower expectations and you'll be fine"
Kate M, 13 Janvier 2024

Passing through Williamsburg for the night with spouse and dog we selected this hotel for its location and price. The staff were very polite and nice! The room - we lowered our expectation due to the age of the hotel and price, but the pet friendly rooms are in the back of the hotel where access to outside is not near. The oddest item was the gap around the door which had at least a one inch space at the bottom and 1/2 inch on the sides. The lock was plated for security. In the night we stuffed a towel under the door to block the hall light. The heater worked too well in that it was an easy baked oven. Finally at 2 am I found that setting it at 58 made it doable for sleep. The bathroom was updated but sorely needed an exhaust fan. (maybe that was why there were such gaps around the door). And, as with many hotels, they stick anyone with pets in the same area. The twilight chain bark whenever someone was taking their dog out was not enjoyable. One room was up at 4 am. With maybe 12 guests in the entire hotel this night, they could have spread us out. We were not rested by morning and checked out early to get on the road after breakfast (which was standard hot hotel food and worked for us)

"Welcoming, Friendly, and Clean"
Beth S, 19 Décembre 2023

We were there for a state wide Walk Fest, where people from walking clubs all over the state come together to walk on various walks all weekend. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. The Mexican Restaurant inside the hotel was a bonus!

"It was great experience "
Yash P, 17 Décembre 2023

If you happen to be visiting Williamsburg, this is a great place to stay. Our room was very clean and looked like it had been recently painted and also location is great it's just 2 mile from busch gardens and 1 mile from colonial Williamsburg I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting that area

"Stay not Comfortable"
doraleasej2, 03 Octobre 2023

The Bathroom was very small. Not Comfortable using the bathroom. Door is very small. Have to step in the bathroom before you can close the bathroom door. You can hardly turn around in the bathroom if you are of any size.

"Excellent stay"
Abhijeetsinh R, 05 Septembre 2023

"Perfect Blend of Comfort and Style! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of staying in a room at this hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. The room struck the perfect balance between comfort and style. It was well-appointed with modern amenities, and the decor was tasteful and inviting. The staff's attention to cleanliness was impeccable. I particularly loved the plush bedding and the breathtaking city view from my window. Staying here was a true treat."

"Comfortable Stay"
Patel M, 05 Septembre 2023

"Exceptional Stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently stayed at this hotel and was blown away by the quality of the room. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The comfortable bed ensured a great night's sleep, and the view from the window was breathtaking. The amenities in the room were top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. I can't recommend this hotel enough!"

"Williamsburg Experience"
George W, 28 Août 2023

We stayed at this motel for 4 nights and found it met all of our needs for visiting the Williamsburg area. It is very near the Historic District and has a Mexican restaurant attached to the motel. The Front Desk Manager, Jim Kelley, is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and gave us many good tips to help make our visit more meaningful and complete.

"Don't waste your money"
Sarah43011, 23 Août 2023

Although the hotel has decent reviews, it was dirty when we were there. Our room had an empty water bottle and ramen noodles on the floor. Drinks in the fridge. Shower was old. We all kept our shoes on when we were there because of the dirtiness. Pool was cold, had a balloon in it and trash around it. Breakfast area was dirty, just simply wiping off the counters and throwing away trash would help. Was not kept stocked. Pancake machine was broken. Hair in the cups.

"Family Vacation"
572PatriciaG, 19 Août 2023

The hotel is an older facility but the location is ideal for those visiting Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. There is no daily housekeeping unless specifically requested but we were provided clean towels and trash removal on a daily basis. The staff is friendly and courteous answering any questions about local restaurants or attractions. If anything was needed (soap, toilet paper, etc) the front desk was quick to provide it when asked. The entire staff, but especially Jim and Charlene, deserve a huge shout out as they make guests feel most welcome and will go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast is adequate to start the day with eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, pancakes, cereals,a variety of breads, juices, milk and coffee. Like many business today they have staff shortages so please be patient!

"Perfect Location!"
Sherry H, 14 Août 2023

This hotel, while a little dated, is in the perfect location. And was warm and welcoming. It is in walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, about 10 minutes from Busch Gardens, and about 20 minutes from the Jamestown Settlement. Smack in the middle of history and fun! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.. Now I want to focus on the staff....the staff really made our stay wonderful. They made us feel like part of the family and were all so gracious and helpful. Jim, the front desk manager (after working a double shift) made sure we had everything we needed, checked us in, made us feel welcome, offered recommendations for where to eat. Was just a pleasure each time we saw him. He remembered us, and greeted us with a smile and always asked if there was anything we needed. Tasha, was so much fun, made us laugh every time we ran into each other. Was also very helpful and always asked if there was anything we needed. Catherine, she was a joy. Always had a smile for us, and when we needed towels (they were short handed when we were there) and the towels weren't delivered, she went and found some for us, right away, wouldn't let me leave the front desk until she got them for me. She went above and beyond to make our stay better. The staff at this hotel far exceeded my expectations. It was a wonderful vacation! I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the area! We plan on definitely going back!! Thank you Jim, Tasha & Catherine for making us feel so welcome and at home while away from home! You were all true blessings!

"Comfort and Ease"
dmadara2023, 14 Août 2023

The staff was most accommodating. We did not have a reservation, but they were so cheerful and helpful. They suggested the restaurant next door for dinner, which was a pleasure and convenient. We enjoyed a dip in the pool to relax after a long day of travel. Our stay was great.

"Good location, mixed customer service"
jonnuxoll, 10 Août 2023

Good location (easy walk to colonial Williamsburg). Comfortable room and amenities, what one expects from Best Western, plus a concierge in the lobby to help guide visitors around the area. Unfortunately poor customer service after my stay soured my otherwise good experience. None of my three communications (two phone calls, one email, about some shirts I think I left in my room) was returned.

"Condition of guest room."
tmvinnh, 08 Août 2023

The room was in need of a facelift. The cabinet door was off it's hing and the faucet in the bathroom was not fixed tightly. I'm not sure what turn down service included but the beds were not made the three night I stayed there. It was worth the price I paid.

"This hotel just keeps getting better and better."
cekelly2023, 08 Août 2023

The quality of this hotel keeps getting better. The renovations and added services since becoming BW have payed off for the customers. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for the price value.

"Joe was great breakfast was not"
Lisa S, 02 Août 2023

Property was overall a good clean place. The breakfast was horrible. What they had to offer was of very bad quality. JOE at front desk was really pleasant and informative. Need more people like Joe. Pool area clean guest rooms clean. Ac wasn't working well. But we will be back

"10/10 would recommend for families looking to stay close to Williamsburg attractions at an affordable price!!"
Lauren G, 31 Juillet 2023

We LOVED our stay! Tasha and Charlene at the front desk were so kind, accommodating, and friendly to our super outgoing kiddos. The pool was perfect- late hours were a plus for this family. Breakfast rocked, room was clean, AMAZING location next to Williamsburg hot spots. The price was affordable for this family of four (plus the beds were super comfy)! I can't say enough about our respite, this hotel is a hidden gem. We will definitely be back!

"Vacation"
Marcia J, 26 Juillet 2023

Excellent customer service, nice area. Employee name Charlene is a model employee for handling someone like myself who was extremely exhausted from traveling a long way. She even found us another room when l complained that the room next to us was too noisy with children. Thank you for accommodating us.

"Summer business trip"
Lisas2023157, 18 Juillet 2023

This is a VERY well managed and economical place to stay. There are some features that could be improved but having stayed there periodically for 15+ years, this establishment always comes through with basic needs!!

"Worst Best Western Ever!"
LindaLidia, 12 Juillet 2023

The dirtiest BW ever! Dead roaches in hallways, air conditioner emitted foul odor, hallway air conditioner had burnt wall socket and plug(not working), retractable pool roof as advertised was broken so pool was freezing cold! Room rugs were damp, beds were lumpy, stains on walls, no air vents in bathrooms, room garbage not picked up daily, dirty towels picked up after 2 days, had to stay for 5 nights because it was prepaid, after 3 nights of gagging from the foul stink, we were allowed to change rooms. Never will stay again, ruined my whole view of Virginia! This was purchased as a package from Busch Gardens

"Wonderful, relaxing stay"
joannawR5712QS, 01 Juillet 2023

Mr Bill was so kind. He had dinner suggestions for us, helped us when our room key deactivated, and greeted us each morning. Our room was neat and tidy. We even got fresh towels without asking every day. That's something we had grown accustomed to having to ask for since covid.

"Perfect place to stay for a trip to Colonial Williamsburg"
lisapie, 23 Juin 2023

The place was great, that's all there is to say. It had everything we needed and more. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Jim at the front desk I had a good feeling. He was so warm and engaging in welcoming us. Not the fake "I've been trained in cusotmer service so I know how to act fake nice" way, but in a geniune "I love my job and I love people" way. The lobby is very nice, and it was usually buzzing with people. They have conference rooms there and I'd guess many companies hold events/meetings there. There are computer workstations right there, with lots of seating, coffee, snacks, etc. We stay in Best Westerns almost exclusively, so we've been in quite a few. This was my second favorite ever, the first being Denver. What made this extra great was Jim. If anyone from Best Western reads this, please do everything you can to retain this man! He made our stay and our two and a half days in the historic triangle so much better than it would have been without him. First if all, he used to work in Colonial Williamsburg, so he was very knowledgeable about it, and also about all the other historic attractions there (Jamestown Settlement, Jamestown Island, Yorkfield museums and battlefield). We had arrived late in the afternoon, and I mentioned to Jim that since it was supposed to start raining later the next day, we were trying to decide whether to prioritize Jamestown Settlement or Williamsburg. (We really had planned to see both on this trip). I said I didn't really want to pay $50 each to see Williamsburg if it was going to be rained out. He suggested we take a walk (or drive--it's just a half mile from the hotel) to Williamsburg right after we checked into our room. He told us that the area is free to walk through, no need for a ticket as long as we were ok with not being able to enter some of the houses. My husband and I are history buffs who have been through many houses of the same era and it was fine with us to just walk through and see the exteriors. (Note--some of the places are able to be entered even without a ticket). We had no idea this was an option and had he not told us, we probably would have just gone to Jamestown the next day and skipped Williamsburg. He even pulled out a paper map and wrote on it, showing us the areas where you could park for free in the historic area and giving us quite a few poinres, all of which proved very helpful. We took his advice and headed over. What a great decison--we had a wonderful time!

"Dirty. In need of major cleaning."
Amber C, 07 Février 2023

I stayed here with my husband on a business trip. Very Dirty. Bathroom had hair and dirt all over the floor. Pulled back the sheets and hair was all over the bed that we hadn't even been in yet. Blanket was stained with something red/brown. We asked for new bedding and we're supplied with new. Still found hair that wasn't ours. Floors looked they hadn't been vacuumed in months. The ONLY plus was the Mexican restaurant attached to this hotel was wonderful and what staff we dealt with seemed nice. We planned to stay another night but checked out early. I would never stay here again. Ever.

"Place to stay in historic Williamsburg "
Curiosity41901369269, 05 Janvier 2023

Very interesting looking motel. It was built in the 60s and it's very well kept with the historic looking flavor. Love the staircase in the lobby. Ample parking, very well lit. Excellent full hot breakfast with a variety of items. Mexican restaurant connected to the motel.

"Nice Hotel, dated but clean"
oneandonly176, 04 Janvier 2023

Very nice hotel, it was clean, smelled good. The outside was dated a bit but the people were nice and inviting and jt was a really nice trip. We wanted to check out Christmas town at Busch Gardens and this jotel was only about a mile away very convenient for us.

"GM Neal Was Very Kind To My Grandson and I."
Terry D, 01 Janvier 2023

This is a wonderful property staffed by some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The GM of this Best Western was very kind to my grandson and I. Neal took extra time to go out of his way to let my 7-year old grandson and I know about a recreation area where we were able to play ball. This might seem like a small gesture of kindness, but it meant the world to this grandpa and his grandson. Thanks Neal! The rooms are great, the king bed we had was just right. We look forward to staying at the BW Historic District in Williamsburg again soon.

"Good Enough"
Travis W, 31 Décembre 2022

Friendly staff. Room was OK. Clean. Bathroom left something to be desired. It looked like someone went at the bottom of the bathroom door with a hatchet. Literally a 3 inch hole at the base. The toilet paper roll was falling out of the wall. Also didn't like that there was someone trying to sell us a stay at the resort in the guise of saving us money. All we had to do was listen to a sales pitch. Not crazy about that. Breakfast was good. Hot eggs and sausage as well as plenty of other choices. Would stay again in spite of the issues but would like to see them resolved.

"Housekeeping is terrible"
stevecC7776TC, 25 Décembre 2022

Would not recommend this place to any one. It's nice that it's within walking distance of the colonial area but our room was cleaned once the entire week after saying something 3 times. Stay elsewhere

"Courteous staff didn't make up for challenges throughout."
Riverwo, 19 Décembre 2022

Hotel staff was pleasant and room was fine. Pillows are awful, and although there are many pillows, they are all the same, so neither my husband or I could find a pillow that was comfortable. We finally bought 2. Pet friendly rooms are in the back and that hallway was nasty dirty, and we don't believe it was vacumed in the 4 days we were there. Breakfast the first day was fine, even though the orange juice machine didn't work, and the toaster was questionable, but the next 3 days there was no food out for breakfast. The gentleman trying to keep that area stocked, was completely overwhelmed. No meat, no eggs, no pastires, no fruit, and little in the yogurt plus small refridgerator. We asked to speak to the manger and she was never available. I think that is where the problem lies. If she would change her hours to be there to see conditions, perhaps she would want to change them. A simple start would be sharing accupancy information with the breakfast person, so he could adequately plan. Also be aware if in the back of the hotel, you'll hear the 4:30 am train. Additionally, the website has not been updated, for instance the on property restaurant isn't a steak house, but a Mexican restaurant, which by the way was delicious and a good value.

"Clean room but otherwise a dump"
rag1mop, 18 Décembre 2022

If you want more than a clean room look elsewhere. Guest were smoking at every entrance, breakfast consisted of cold eggs and cereal. I could hear the next rooms tv in the middle of the night, I have stood next to trees that had more personality than the front desk clerk. It is old and worn and so is the service. I wouldnt recommend it nor would I visit again.

"Best Western Historic Williamsburg"
Bridget S, 13 Décembre 2022

This hotel is close to the parkway/Visitor's Center. Breakfast was good and the lobby was decorated for Christmas. We were able to watch the fireworks on Saturday night standing in front of the parking lot. 3 miles from Busch Gardens and a bus runs right past the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the area.

"Dated and Broken"
Mobile317771, 12 Décembre 2022

The property is from the 1970s it has one elevator. It was broken the entire stay. We were on the 4th floor. One of us needed a ground floor room for accessibility. Hotel did not offer any thing but "oh, sorry". The rooms are decent sized, the bathroom was clean but small. The water pressure was not existent. If you show up with low expectations this may barely meet them.

"Nice staff - old hotel"
dianez804, 09 Décembre 2022

The hotel staff was very nice, but the hotel was NOT. Lobby was best part of entire building. The elevator was not working for several days (and still not working when we left) and we were staying on the 4th floor. Staff did offer our party rooms on 2nd floor (pet floor) but we declined due to allergies.Rooms were dirty and old. Ceiling in 3 rooms had leaks and repairs were half finished patches. Bathroom and closet was very very small. Bedding had a stain on it upon arrival and floor needed to be vacuumed. The offered breakfast was inexcusable. Were lucky to get maybe toast and yogurt with coffee. This hotel needs a total renovation. Did not even want to see the pool. Will never stay again

"Broken EV charger, disaffected staff, horrid breakfast"
785gabrielv, 18 Novembre 2022

We chose this hotel specifically for the EV charger. When we arrived, the charger appeared to be working, but did not charge the car. We talked to the desk clerk and he sent maintenance to 'fix' it. Alas, he could not...little did we know the charger has been broken since August (another review covered it) and no one has worked to fix it. Since we don't have a Tesla, my husband had to park the car 1.5 miles away and walk back to the hotel to ensure our car was charged in the morning. When I turned back the bedding, there was hair on the sheets - even though we hadn't been in the bed yet. The bathroom floor was dirty. In the morning, the breakfast was meh. The pancake machine wasn't filled to make pancakes. There was no milk and the orange juice was water. We did not see one person staffing the area to help us with these items.

"Dirty and run down - Choose another hotel!"
Denise M, 14 Novembre 2022

The room was gross. We found a dirty sock from a previous guest on the floor. A piece of trim was pulled off the wall and propped up in front of the closet. And found a huge roach climbing up the tub wall late on the 2nd night. I wanted to leave on Friday night when we checked in but it was late and we were tired so I said we'll just deal with it. Then we were out all day on Saturday. By the time we got back it was late again and that's when I saw the roach. If I wasn't so tired from being out all day and my kids weren't already asleep, I definitely would have packed up and left because that was the final straw for me. I couldn't wait to get out of there! Wallpaper was peeling from the walls at the seams in the hallways. Carpets were not vacuumed. Pool was cloudy and the pool area was very dark, making it unsafe for swimming. The indoor pool was the other reason we chose this hotel and it looked so sketchy, I wouldn't even let the kids swim in it. Not that they were disappointed about that because they took one look at the pool and said we're not going in that, it's funky! The rear/side entrance to the hotel, which was unstaffed, was unlocked and anyone could enter the hotel compromising safety of the guests. Breakfast trays were empty when we went at 8:30 (ends at 9) so we had to go out for breakfast instead. My son is now calling it Worst Western.

"Tired Hotel"
simon p, 01 Novembre 2022

Tired. Good location, good staff but the fabric is a let-down. It needs redecorating. The so-called complimentary breakfast was dreadful. Either scrap them and reduce the charges or do it better. We Europeans are making an effort on recycling. We were horrified at all the disposables and plastic waste at breakfast

"Great Location. Friendly Staff. Hotel Needs Rehab."
RoseRedden, 17 Octobre 2022

Hotel is about 3 blocks away from the Historic Area. Staff could not be more friendly or helpful. That's the good part. The entire property needs an immediate refurbishing. The "cleaning regimen" that is highly touted does not exist. We just put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and left it at that. However, if lots of hot water and extreme water pressure are your thing, you will be happy here. If noise, slamming doors, dogs barking, smelly pillows, mold in the bathroom that is so tiny you have to close the door before proceeding with whatever you are there for, pathetic excuse for "breakfast," dirty carpets, peeling wallpaper and an assortment of other scary elements are not to your liking, then don't stay here.

"Good enough"
sweetness45oh, 11 Octobre 2022

Staff is great and very friendly/helpful. Rooms/hotel's overall appearance was ok but could be better. Location is great and easy to get to many key places in the area. Wish the back parking lot was lit, it was a little uneasy feeling going from car to hotel at night. Overall, it was an average hotel experience.

"Dirty Room"
gabec0n, 18 Septembre 2022

Hotel had a lot to offer but cleanliness was not one of them. The breakfast was good, front desk staff was friendly but housekeeling was poor. We had a moldy tub curtain and the outside base of the tub was very dirty as was the carpeting. If towels are left in your room as ours were, we were told to put them outside our room door, wet towels on a carpet- not a good policy at all.

"Great stay"
Jennifer1643, 16 Septembre 2022

We checked in, didn't take us long till we reached our room. Best stay in a while. Woke up rested and loved the cable and internet. Restaurant was reasonable. I enjoyed my stay and would gladly recommend to my friends.

"Location, location!!"
WonderfulJordan, 29 Août 2022

Slightly off the touristy areas but easy walking distance to Historic Williamsburg. Extremely convenient. Enjoyed leisurely evening stroll through the historic area and the College of William and Mary. Shops open. Great Italian restaurant within the historic area open with ginormous portions -delicious

"Find another place"
dianehI8821LB, 25 Août 2022

Neglected property. The site pictures make it look nicer than it is. Room had peeling wall paper. Ripped rug and half patched area on wall. It's in a great location and a shame not better taken care of. Breakfast which is an amenity was not worth it. They should spend the money on improvements. Was a Mexican restaurant on site which was very good. We are BW playin members and this was the worse place ever. Have stayed in ones where it was old but much better taken care of.

"Very unprofessional, rude staff"
MBeacham, 18 Août 2022

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff at the front desk! Nasty breakfast area that does not get cleaned as it should. Broken pancake machine and very few options to choose from. I have stayed at this location several times and was VERY disappointed by this stay!

"Avoid this place at all costs"
P8954YT, 15 Août 2022

Neglected and grossest hotel I have stayed at in a while. Upon arriving in my room at 2am after check in, there were 2 roaches, 1 dead, 1 living. I cleaned those up, but every other hotel was booked solid, so had to stay in my current room. My toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet, fan was broken, bathroom door didn't lock, and the room just felt dingy overall. This hotel really sucks and is a pass at the wild prices they charge for such filth. The breakfast room is overcrowded with no open seats, mostly empty food, and a broken pancake machine both mornings. The parking lot was flooding both days I stayed here from an underground cover, they just added cones but left it flooding. They don't clean your room, but if you ask for extra towels and Kleenex they get offended at the front desk, but they don't clean the rooms, so those are reasonable requests. I heard the maids in the hallway complaining about cleaning as well, so it makes sense why the place is so run down and dirty. Overall, I won't be back, it's obvious the staff do not care about this place at all and can charge high prices since the area is frequently booked up.

"Great Hotel in Historic Williamsburg."
Q9369QRbettyj, 10 Août 2022

Our hotel stay was great. The room was very clean. The hotel staff were very kind and courteous and our room needs were met in a timely manner. There were pools and a workout room for your pleasure. We would recommend this hotel for couples and children as it is centrally located to shops, movie theaters, and restaurants. The only downside was the free, full breakfast which was not very good. Although it was hot daily and had many selections, the sausage and imitation eggs were tasteless served in a small hot room off to the side. The upside was there were numerous restaurants in close proximity that served breakfast daily. Overall we would be repeat customers and would recommend the hotel to others. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Needs Improvement"
kimsparkswc, 08 Août 2022

Elevator didn't work the day we arrived or the day we left, so we had to lug everything upstairs. Had to clean my own room each day. Do the trash, had to ask for clean rags and towels from front desk and even toilet paper. Even after having tag on door each day to be cleaned it never was. Even after letting front desk know it never was all week long.

"Ceiling in shower leaks water!!!"
Jen K, 07 Août 2022

Won't stay again. This was our 4th time staying at this hotel since July 2021 and this will be the last. We travel with our small dogs. We requested a room on the 2nd floor (which is their first floor). Their first floor is the basement, which is dark, dirty, and musky/foul smelling. Upon arriving, they had us on the 4th floor—now I selected a pet friendly room when booking and requested the 2nd floor. The gentleman at the front desk stated all pet friendly rooms were on the first floor, which I promptly told him that is not true since we have stayed here multiple times and were on the 2nd floor! And if we were going to be in the dungeon..I'm canceling and depending my money be refunded. I was told in a precious stay that ALL rooms are pet friendly. He did place on the 2nd floor…pretty sure it was deliberate, as this room was horrible. (See pictures). A cleaning cloth with pink stains was hanging over the shower. Our puppy threw up (gets car sick), I carry rug cleaner, disinfectant wipes, towels, etc with us, upon cleaning it up, the towel was black from the carpet. I did receive a phone call from a manager, after filling out a survey BW sent after our stay. She made a lot of excuses, but did refund part of our stay.

"Friendly Staff"
sparklinggem2002, 07 Août 2022

We had stayed at this hotel before, The hotel was just ok this visit, it is in need of updates worn carpets it just seemed dark and dingy. The staff were great. The breakfast they offered was just so so.

Nydaesha showed great costumer service, energetic, had great hospitality and very respectful. Nydesha cleaned the tables, spoke to the costumers, assist with needs when they occurred in her presence, she was very friendly and showed and enormous amount of attention towards the costumers needs without asking for her support.

"Above low budget stays."
isaelp996, 03 Août 2022

Read the comments and fix what customers write and complain about. The same issues I've had multiple people had and left the same feed back on Google, booking.com, trip advisors etc. Don't havr to apologize if the service and accommodation was there. Pool was disgusting and needed cleaning. The sliding door in the pool area broken and left open so bugs and debris came in. Air-conditioner in room was working off and on inconsistent temperature. Front desk no help after hours. The food was abismal. The drain in the shower backed up. The trash in the hallways left behind. The musty smell in the hall/room. The wifi didn't work in the room, guess I was in dead zone. Employees seen taking food from paying customer area, shame. Seems like they've been doing this for a while. Just not a place I would ever recommend. There's so much to discuss. It was a special price online for a reason. Don't espect much from an old building, looks good at the entrance but then goes down hill from there.

"Great location and friendly staff"
cbfanning, 03 Août 2022

This hotel is within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg and was great for our family stay. You do have to cross a busy street if you go on foot, but distance-wise it is super convenienet. It was quiet and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

"Save your money"
Maureen W, 03 Août 2022

Stayed here with my two kids and it was disgusting. Our room had broken lighting, it was not clean and our bathroom was a disaster. You can hear everything through the walls. There was a contact lense or something of the sort in my eggs and when I mentioned it to staff nothing was done. I also mentioned to staff there was a roach in the hallway. It was still there the next day! It was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed.

"The level of hospitality from Tyrisha was outstanding"
Jasmine E, 30 Juillet 2022

My 10 yr olds sons appendix was rupturing hrs away from home after leaving great wolf lodge for a few days we checked into best western to then go to Busch gardens. After we left the park son was hurting woke up crying husband took him in our only vehicle to any hospital google steered him too. I was left in room with our small daughter scared to death. 1st thing in am I went to desk for help she found out were they were and after she clocked out on her own time found me where and a way for me and my child to go be with our family. She had given me the very best customer service I've ever had and a level of compassion and humanity you don't see much these days. She should be manager next time I go there which bc of her I will! Pool was indoor was nice connected Mexican restaurant was delicious and servers were great but the coffee bar in lobby 24/7 is by far my favorite amenity I drink it morning noon and night it had gourmet coffee espresso and all the creamer and cocoa you need! Impressive and delicious coffee for a hotel! But Tyrisha was a true ambassador of hospitality and her company which is truly above and beyond corporate level! I had to write her boss a letter before even leaving to follow the ambulance to another hospital it meant that much to me for her superiors to acknowledge and recognize her representation of their establishment. Thank your Jesus for putting her in my path when I needed her most.

"Walk to historic Williamsburg"
My02CentsWorth, 27 Juillet 2022

Ten minutes of walking gets you to the edge of the Williamsburg historic district--saves time and $$ parking. Its a little frayed around the edges, but our room was clean, everything worked, the breakfast was good and plentiful and the internet worked just fine. And a combination of price and location just can't be beat. Cleanliness would be a 5 except for the hallways; room was nice and clean. And the room would have been a 5 except for a bit of shabbiness. But the price was great.

"Worse Western"
hasaind, 26 Juillet 2022

There were little ants in the room. Bedding wasn't on one of the beds during the second night. After a long day of walking, the last thing I wanted to worry about was going to the front desk to ask for bedding. Only to find out there wasn't anymore left for the evening. Heavy mildew/smoke smell.

"Best Western Williamsburg"
Alan C, 25 Juillet 2022

Wonderful location located in the heart of the historic district downtown within walking distance of many historical sites. Checkin was very easy and acknowledgement of Diamond select elite status was made by the front desk clerk. Room was very clean and sufficient for our needs. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options for everyone. Late checkout was requested and no interruptions were made by housing staff before checkout. Great stay and would highly recommend this location to anyone.

"Not what we expected"
Kikeuribe, 24 Juillet 2022

Overall was a fair stay, with more lows than highs. As a PRO, I can say the beds were decent and you can get a good night rest after a visit to the near amusement Parks. As for CONS, Breakfast experience was terrible; we decided to go somewhere else for Breakfast day 2 and day 3 of our 3-day stay. On day 1, the room for breakfast is so tiny that you hardly find a place to seat and eat; then the options available for breakfast were very limited when available (they had No Milk when we were there). Pool seems to be not very clean and had to abort the plan for Pool with the kids at night. Carpet on the halls seem very dirty and it was never vacuum in our 3-day stay. Toilet in our room was loose; Our room was next to the elevator, so we could hear every time the elevator was moving. I stayed in rooms next to elevator in other hotels and never experienced the noise we heard in our stay. We would not come back to the hotel in our yearly trip to Williamsburg. This hotel is screaming for upgrades and better maintenance.

"Eh-Not worth more then $70 a night"
opugirl, 23 Juillet 2022

I debated on rating this hotel...and on how to rate it. Essentially-if this is your only choice financially or stay at home-OK, go for it-but otherwise avoid this hotel. The pros: Comfortable Beds with clean sheets Clean enough bathroom Helpful and nice staff Close to Busch Gardens and downtown Williamsburg Feels safe Check-in was immediate and took less then 5 minutes Was able to login to my email and print tickets out easily using the business computer in the lobby The cons; Literally everything else; the hotel is dirty-we got my son new socks and literally after him putting them on in the room and walking around for 10 minutes just in the room-the dark grey socks-were brown. There were cheez its and hair ties around the bed (not from us!), the toilet was spraying for about 45 minutes until I opened the tank and jiggled the handle that literally FELL OUT of the toilet (Yikes! Luckily I'm handy). Breakfast, not sanitary. I'm not sure why the review says renovated...the lobby looks nice. Summary: We had a great deal with the hotel included-all in all-I AM glad we went on vacation but for families and people reading reviews-have realistic expectations. If you are just looking for a place to rest your head that is safe-this is OK. It is likely a combination of poor ownership/management. The vacuum I saw didn't look like it could clean anything (you have to pay for your team to have the right stuff....) The carpets-especially when you have pets come in should be shampoo cleaned on a quarterly basis. The toilet in the bathroom looked older then me, and I ain't young! Granted-if it worked who cares...hope the owners listen to all these reviews. The staff at least at the front desk are NOT the issue-it is the maintenance and facilities overwhelmingly. Also, with the breakfast-seriously-its 2022, make it grab and go-it will be cheaper and not give such a poor presentation of the cleanliness of the hotel.

"Weekend Getaway"
JaimeAF7, 18 Juillet 2022

Our Family is originally from Hampton Roads, but relocated to Raleigh NC 9 years ago. We were looking for an inexpensive stay, with an indoor pool. After reading some other reviews, I was prepared for the worst. But maybe that was a good thing! I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the room was! The Hotel is just 5 minutes away from Busch Gardens & Water Country. Lots of restaurants close buy. Overall fantastic trip. Will stay again!

"Moldy waffles"

695alainag, 11 Juillet 2022

Clean wonderful stay. Very courteous and helpful. Breakfast from restaurant was ok.y complaint is our key cards stopped working and had issues till we checked out. Then there was a large group of teenagers who was not respectful of anyone. But all in all a good hotel.

"Great Stay in the Williamsburg Area"
kathyh215, 07 Juillet 2022

The hotel was great. Rooms were clean and everything in working order. It is an older hotel but is in good condition. The pool was large and clean. The front desk staff was really good. The Mexican restaraunt attached to the hotel was Awesome. Great food and prices. The Margaritas were a welcome addition to dinner.

"for your information"
dlawson715, 04 Juillet 2022

Rooms and hotel lobby clean cleaning staff great. Bed very confrontable. Front desk not very helpful. Pool so cold it no enjoyable if you are even willing to get in it. Breakfast ran out of food and drink several mornings during our stay.

"Good value but some issues"
G3058TYroberta, 04 Juillet 2022

We used this hotel for visiting Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. The location is great. The price was pretty good, relatively speaking. But the hotel has numerous maintenance issues throughout the property. Broken doors, light fixtures falling down, dirty areas. In the room, the sink was extremely slow, taking about 10 minutes to drain after brushing teeth. These issues are on the minor side, but it seems a little bit of a shame that this hotel could be great with a little more TLC by the owners.

"Terrible Best Western Hotel"
papaj06182022, 28 Juin 2022

This hotel is rundown, filthy, and unsanitary. Every area of this BW Williamsburg needs renovation and deep cleaning. The breakfast is a joke, terribly unsanitary - dirty eating area - tables not cleaned - trash not emptied - one gallon bottle of milk that every guest touched, uncapped and used. It was disgusting.

"Great location, needs renovation"
cwm0m, 24 Juin 2022

After reading other reviews I was really worried because we booked only looking at the location. It was not as bad as the reviews stated. First, the location is awesome, only a few blocks walk from historic district and a 10 minute drive to Busch Gardens. Also we did not see any bugs anywhere during our stay. The place, however, is truly very rundown and needs new everything. The staff at the front desk were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. We very much appreciated the mini fridge and microwave, although the microwave was a little dodgy like the turntable did not fit. It was clean enough, but I travel with Clorox wipes and Lysol spray so no big deal. The shower hot water and water pressure were really good; the sink faucet is in a weird place, making it awkward to use without touching the back of the sink. If they renovated it would be my go to place due to location but next time I will check out the other hotels next door first.

"Disappointing"
Heidi K, 17 Juin 2022

For a best western, this is not up to par. Very run down inside, including carpets. Room was dusty and not wiped down upon arrival. Bathtub has mold/ mildew. Yuck! On the second day, housekeeping only took trash and replaced towels. When did this change happen? Also second day, one of our rooms the track was not removed. Bfast was a circus. Gross food and only one worker trying to keep up with the mass people coming through. All good was microwaved except for sausage. Ran out of coffee numerous times. Never stay again. It reminded me of a motel 6

"Stay Elsewhere!"
Alison P, 12 Juin 2022

We reserved 2 rooms for our trip to Busch Gardens. We drove to the park and stayed there until closing so we arrived at the hotel late night. The first sign of problems was with the elevator (lobby is on 2nd floor and our room was on 4th floor). There were some mystery sounds and a clunk prior to arriving on our floor (wasn't sure we were going to get to floor 4 due to the sounds and the fact that the floor number didn't light up when pressed). Upon reviewing the elevator certificate of compliance (in the frame with BROKEN GLASS), it was last inspected on Aug 21, 2020!! The next issues were upon entering the rooms (yeah...we made it to the 4th floor). One room (452) was nice and cool but had HUGE stains on the ceiling. The room my husband and I stayed in (456) was hot as blazes. We immediately turned on the a/c but it took nearly an hour to start feeling comfortable. I noticed the phone had exposed wires, the ceiling had a large stain on it and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. If it wasn't so late at night, I'd have asked for a different room but it probably would have been just as filthy and nasty. The next morning, we opened the curtains and saw the disgusting windows. They told us at check-in that breakfast was served on the 3rd floor. I thought that unusual too but thought maybe they had a lounge/dining area built on that floor. Wrong. It was apparently some conference room located right in the middle of other hotel rooms. They had about 6 tables (that seat 6) set up for hotel guests. When we finally found the room (followed the smell of pancakes/sausage), I immediately looked for the coffee. There was only decaf and hot water. I asked the lady cooking sausage if there was more coffee and she apparently couldn't speak much English since she just told me "un minuto" and pointed at the ceiling. Some other hotel guest told me coffee was in the lobby. After eating some pancakes and sausage, I went in search for coffee in the lobby. While walking to find the stairs, my husband texted me that they just brought coffee to the breakfast area. I returned and got a cup to go -- couldn't get out of that hotel fast enough. If you travel to Williamsburg...don't even consider this hotel. Stay Elsewhere!!

"Nasty and dirty hotel"
Michael F, 08 Juin 2022

The staff members not concern about providing best customer service. They give you the worse room if you get their early. Last, take my gift card with false promises that you can use to my room rate. Justin took my gift card by accident and never return it. Last Jim Kelley does not train his staff members correctly lets them go rogue. I asked for 2 extra blankets only got one extra. Linens old blankets with no label on the blanket that tells me hotel. Hotel should replace the blankets more often to convince people to stay longer. No hottub dirty toilet. Mystery hair on toilet seat when we check took staff members 3 hours to clean the toilet. We checked in at 3pm. I am so glad my girl friend book this place vs i. Terrible hotel room and nightmare below standards. Some praying for god from 8pm to midnight. Yelling in a conference room on 3rd floor staff members did not care on a Friday night. Went to the front desk 3 times no action on this. Asked to have bare stools removed

"Really bad"
205Sammy205, 05 Juin 2022

This hotel was filthy. Carpets really gross; never took off our shoes because of that. Huge hole with dripping water in roof outside the window. Mirror in bathroom covered in toothpaste spray. Window smudged with fingerprints. Someone else's socks under the bed. Trash can covered with a sticky substance. TV barely turned on. Main door had holes in it near the lock and the screws are loose so worried about someone easily knocking down the door. Beds were so uncomfortable and you just sunk into the mattress. Probably slept two hours total because it was so uncomfortable. This hotel is cheap but just think about the clientele that utilizes hotel like that. Was worried for our safety on numerous occasions. The only plus was the central location and the shower was hot with good water pressure. You are WAY better off paying extra for literally ANY other hotel.

"Rude front desk staff, unclean rooms for price paid"
Danielle H, 24 Mai 2022

I went to Best Western for a wedding this past weekend and was shocked at how I was treated at the front desk. I had called that morning and asked if there were cribs or a pack and play that I could use during my stay that evening and was told, "don't worry about it, we have them here for you." I reiterated that I had one at my home that I could easily bring and verified that there were plenty there available for me to use and she said that they definitely had ones that I could use. There was no mention of a fee, reservations, anything. When I arrived to check in with a new staff that afternoon, I asked the gentlemen if I picked up the pack and play there or how that worked. Before he could answer, a lady at the front desk said, "If we even have any left. I don't see one on your reservation." I explained that I called earlier and they said it "don't worry about it" to which she replied, "don't worry about it doesn't mean we have one for you." Then she said it would be $11 to use one. Obviously irritated, I reiterated that I had a 3 month old with me and nobody on the phone mentioned a reservation or cost associated with the pack and play, I thought don't worry meant literally that, don't worry about bringing one because we'll have one here for you ready for free. She cut me off saying, "do you want it or not?" I said I'd ask my husband and we agreed we'd not use one from them. I was appalled at how rude she was and have never received such bad customer service, especially when I did nothing to be rude or demanding of anything. It was an honest misunderstanding and I was treated like an idiot for no reason at all. Then the bathrooms had mold encrusted in the showers and toilet paper holders and everything seemed dark and dingy. We paid nearly $200 for the night because it was graduation weekend and they hiked the prices up. Definitely my worst stay at a hotel and would caution anyone against going here.

"Great location, needs an update desperately"
courtneylP7912PC, 02 Mai 2022

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Very close to everything there is to do. We drove around, but there are plenty of things you can walk to. There are horses and cows across the street that make for great pictures. Needs updating very badly. There is no fan in the bathrooms, so things are getting moldy. Stains on pillowcases. Didn't want to take my shoes off on the carpet.

"Trip to Busch Gardens"
Colleen M, 26 Avril 2022

Had trouble checking in, needed adjoining room and middle door was screwed closed. Was told the wrong time for breakfast so that was a bust. The pool was very cold so the kids didn't enjoy it at all. The Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel was good but slow service.

"Meh"
jessiford01, 25 Avril 2022

Way too expensive for the poor quality and dirty room. Sink was clogged, hair in shower, there wrre lost things under the bed from previous occupants. Good location to Williamsburg things. Pillows were nice

"Worth what I paid"
noswal58, 20 Avril 2022

This hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Only problem was the "gluten free" label in the breakfast room moved around on random items. A bread was labeled gluten free one day, and not the next. Same with the pastries.

"Great stay for price!"
GKellsloves2travel, 22 Mars 2022

I am a frequent guest of the BW chain, they never disappoint. The only problem was the mirror on the bathroom door in rm#457 needs replacing. The room was very clean. bathroom is a smaller one. good water pressure. bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Jim Kelley, morning front desk person was kind. the vending machine had the best snacks. i would recommend

"Old Hotel; Needs Updating"
ericdE6042RG, 21 Mars 2022

The rooms are old and need to be updated. The carpet, tile, shower walls, and really anything that is physically part of the room was super dirty. The staff was nice and helpful. The restaurant was nice and had good drinks. The bed was well used and had a large divot on one side so you had to pick one side or the other. The sheets, blankets, and towels appeared to be clean and there was a nice, clean, working mini-fridge.

"Quick escape to Williamsburg"
hjchik, 21 Mars 2022

Decided to do a quick last minute trip to Williamsburg this weekend. Took a chance on this hotel in spite of the lackluster reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. You can't beat the location, the room was clean, check it was fast and easy. We would definitely consider staying here on a future trip. The only negatives were the keycards for the room are slow to work. We struggled to get the room open the first time for at least 5 minutes. But then the second time it took about half the time. Not a huge deal since we were only there a night and didn't go in and out of the room. Also we had to park behind the hotel when we returned at night. It was dark back there, would be nice if it was lit up for safety purposes. Besides those two issues no complaints. Thanks for a great place to stay on a quick trip.

"Great place to stay"
381billa, 14 Mars 2022

This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff and quiet clean rooms made this visit EXCELLENT! Williamsburg is an interesting historic area and this motel was the icing on the cake. Especially with an indoor pool.

"Hotel Better Than Expected!!!!"
Noreen F, 14 Mars 2022

Was pleased with our decision to stay at this hotel. Staff were very helpful, polite and always available. Hotel and room were very clean! Parking was easily accessible and hotel was in a good location! Close to Busch Gardens. The hotel didn't smell dingy like other reviews stated. I don't understand why this hotel received such negative reviews when actually it is a very nice place to stay. For the price, cleanliness, staff and location this hotel is a must!!!

"Good hotel very near Colonial Williamsburg"
2retiredroses, 11 Mars 2022

This modestly priced hotel is a good choice to be very near Colonial Williamsburg which was just a few minute's walk away. Several restaurants were nearby. . Hotel staff was very accommodating for our knitting retreat. Guest rooms were conveniently situated across a hall from the conference room which had a small kitchen. Guest rooms had microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Coffee and tea were also available in the lobby. We were very comfortable during our stay.

"Downward trend like a stockmarket crash"
nontexan, 10 Mars 2022

Not recommended. This hotel is well below the quality of all BW hotels I've ever stayed in. Dirty, roaches, cigarette odor, housekeeping came only twice during the 6 day visit. Room was inexpensive, but even then, I was quite disappointed

"Ok if you just need a bed but…."
ericsD8980QC, 07 Mars 2022

The only redeeming qualities for this hotel are the front desk staff and housekeeping. Both were very friendly and helpful. Other than that, stay away. The hotel has a strange layout and is very run down. My room was filthy. There were stains on the wall and on the bed. I even found pieces of used tissue when I moved the box. I don't want to know what was on the walls and bedding when I took out the black light. Fortunately, my room did not have bugs. One member of our party found roaches in their room (319). Believe the reviews mentioning roaches. I didn't bother complaining about the condition of the room because I suspected that the rest of the rooms would be in a similar state. The walls were very thin. I could hear full conversations through the walls and from outside the door. If you are coming to the Williamsburg area, you would be well served spending another $10-20 and stay somewhere else. There is a restaurant/bar on premises that was pretty good. They closed a little early for me though.

"Great, affordable stay! Very Friendly"
KaitlynNicD, 04 Mars 2022

I stayed at the Best Western on a whim since I had to do some business in the area, and the front desk associate was very friendly! He even let me work in the lobby for an extra hour after I checked out, since I had an awkward amount of time left during which I needed wifi. The rooms aren't anything super fancy, but mine was clean and perfect for an afforable stay.

"Worst Stay Ever"
reginaldcoffey, 23 Février 2022

The door on my doors and those around us did not work or were very difficult to work. I had to walk back to the front desk on three occasions to get the key recharged. However, don't think it was the keying process but more so a depleted battery in the door lock itself. We had ceiling tile falling down in a three separate spots. These were large 3”x5” patches falling to the ground. We had to physically exchange the bed linenings as the bed was unmade. the comforter had brown spots on it and the sheets were dirty. We place up replacement sheets and made the bed ourselves. The bathroom was rusted out around the plumbing and the floor was dirty. The corners of the bathroom were molded. To top that off, they physically removed two of the four light bulbs in the bathroom and several light bulbs in the lamps.

"Roaches"
49years2022, 20 Février 2022

King's Creek put us up here for an obligatory sales presentation. After unpacking we were moved the first day, after a roach was found. Repacked to unpack again. We slept and found roaches in the 2nd room the morning after.

"Great Place to Stay Because of the Staff"
micahs585, 12 Février 2022

Historic Williamsburg is minutes down the road from this property, so the location is splendid. The property is a bit dated but the staff makes the most of what they have and I did aporeciate their efforts and courtesy during my two-day stay. These days, so many in the hospitality industry are dealing with higher vacancy rates and staff shortages, so it was nice to see the management smiling and making sure guests had what they needed for a pleasant visit. John Kelly is the hotel manager. He was exceptionally courteous and efficient. He is from the area and is a good person to ask if you have questions about Historic Williamsburg, local restaurants, and other attractions. ---Richard F.

"Dirty Rooms and Unlocked Doors"
ksta1029, 08 Janvier 2022

Check in was fine and polite. We get to our room and the room is OPEN, the lock is between the door and frame. Is someone in there? Why is our room open? I call down to the front desk and he says that is their normal policy. I have never seen this in my life, anyone could be waiting in those rooms. On top of that, they claim to be covid friendly, why is my room open to anyone? There was no soap in the bathroom. One towel had brown spots covering it. I ran my finger across the bathroom counter and my finger was covered in dust and a white hair. There was some sort of drip stair going down the floor length mirror. I pulled the desk chair out and it was covered in crumbs and candy wrappers. The night stand had drink rings on it. Ugh, the giant yellow stain on the top of one quilt. Don't tell me you get what you pay for, this was part of the package with Busch Gardens and they shouldn't be partnered with this. It's dog friendly, yeah cool. What's not cool is the dog barking from the gates of hell next door. Be better people, do not leave your dogs alone. If you are on the back side of the hotel, there is a train that goes by often, not terribly loud, not terribly quiet. The best thing? The Mexican restaurant next door is AMAZING.

"Very Nice and Friendly Hotel Experience"
MRyan608, 07 Janvier 2022

Very easy check in and check out. Cleaning staff not that great but not horrible. Nice and friendly hotel clerk. Very convenient location to Busch Gardens, and other sites. Had small breakfast but nice.

"Cockroaches"
Mich29143, 02 Janvier 2022

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. The front desk staff is very nice and the hotel is conveniently located near the main attractions BUT there is no excuse for roaches. There were FOUR roaches in my room, and that was during the day. I asked for my room to be cleaned THREE times, one request made directly to the housekeeper but at no point during my three night stay did my room get cleaned. No wonder they have a roach problem. There were also some other less severe issues such as them not having any soap, leaking faucet, and the phone not working. Please beware. I wish I had spent the extra money to stay at a hotel that values cleanliness and the customer experience.

"You get what you pay for"
whelandeanna, 31 Décembre 2021

My friends and I booked this hotel as a package with Busch gardens. It was the cheapest hotel but seemingly had decent reviews so we decided to go for it. Upon arrival to the room, we were immediately hit with the fact that we had made a mistake. The room was run down and quite dirty. After getting settled and taking the kids to the pool, we saw 2 roaches in one of the rooms. With 8 kids between us we decided to stick it out against our better judgement and went to the front desk requesting the rooms be thoroughly cleaned while we were at the park. Upon our return we noticed this was not done. No one had came and quite honestly we didn't see any presence of a cleaning crew in the building. Long story short this went on for the remainder of our trip (3 nights total) with no toiletries, towels, or cleaning. One of the tubs leaked the entire time, and a toilet seat that was rigged up broke while one of the kids was using it. All and all we should have left immediately and I would not recommend staying here. Pay the extra money and stay outside of Williamsburg all together as we did look to leave the first day and none of the neighboring hotels seemed to have better reviews. Shame on Busch gardens too for partnering with this establishment.

"Good location, otherwise awful."
Dipnomad, 18 Décembre 2021

Very rude front desk service when we first tried to check in, although the gentleman who ultimately helped us provided good service. The room was a mess. The carpet and part of the wallpaper was torn up. There was no cord for the television so it didn't work. The toilet barely flushed. Everything in the hotel was run down or broken. But the location was convenient for colonial Williamsburg.

"Huge indoor pool, lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas, comfy beds."
patriciasowers, 13 Décembre 2021

The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas!! Parking was at a premium. Room was spacious but no hair dryer. Huge indoor pool! Comfy beds with plenty of towels but tiny toiletries. Good stay fir the Military discount price.

"Great location, nice staff and then it's all downhill"
jacy24, 06 Décembre 2021

We had a clogged sink from the minute we checked-in. After two requests the first day, no repair. We had requested sink fixed second day twice and we came back to a still-clogged sink. The bathroom door was almost impossible to close - frayed wood at bottom of door. Ripped carpet. It was clean, nice staff and the bed was decent, but the sink issue over-shadowed it all. Electric socket in bathroom didn't work so used one by desk. They were out of grab and go breakfast bags on first morning but had one second day which was OK. Packaged muffin, apple, water and energy bar. Noisy group across hall noise carried but didn't complain because it stopped by time I went to sleep around 2. Overall it wouldn't be a bad place if they took care of a few cosmetic things and kept the equipment repaired (e.g., sink).

"Colonial Williamsburg Historic Best Western"
drkimberlycollins, 06 Décembre 2021

We literally used our room to sleep, shower, and change clothing. This isn't a $500 per night hotel so If you ultra Luxury go elsewhere to pay those luxury bucks. Beds were clean and comfortable. There was a coffee maker, small fridge in room. Large enough vanity in bathroom to hold makeup and hair products. Would bring a tower fan to reduce noise from the outside. We will stay here again. The room we were in was room 241.

"Cannot Beat the Location"
RosemaryDC, 06 Décembre 2021

Avoid the crowds and buses and walk right into Colonial Williamsburg across the street.(We logged 20 miles on foot over three days and enjoyed every step.) The accommodations are clean, comfortable and quiet. Even though it's a chain, it a has a personalized feel--either the owners or the employees are adding some fun holiday decorating touches and amenities in the lobby. The addition of a pretty authentic Mexican restaurant (they serve everything from burritos to lengua tacos) right next door is a big plus when every restaurant in Colonial Williamsburg has a line around the block. There's also a big, heated indoor pool if you have kids.

"Just okay"
Dbussellsanluis, 11 Novembre 2021

Hotel is very old and looks it, Hall ways and rooms have a musky odor. Front desk gal is more interested in her phone than taking care of clients. We stayed at a lot of hotels over the last month and this one was definitely at the bottom.

"Great place, great price"
cmdunkley78, 26 Octobre 2021

After a long exhausting day we came into the hotel. Checked in and was in our room within 10 minutes. Slept like a baby. Bed was so comfortable. Everyone was so nice and polite. We will stay here again, if we go back to Williamsburg.

"BEWARE!!!"
meld79, 25 Octobre 2021

BEWARE!!! Stayed here August 10-13. It was a disaster from the start. I was charged twice and they wouldn't give me back my money. I paid online through Busch Gardens website for my hotel and park tickets when I checked in at that hotel I was asked to swipe my card and we all know some places to this for security deposits or incase there is any in room charges. I noticed I was being charged $308.40 which was for my total stay. They told me they would fix it which it appeared they did until I was charged over a month later by this company for this cost. When I contacted them on September 29th I saw my on bank account that $308.40 so called the hotel and was told the ONLY person that could help me worked night would have to call me after 10 pm. At 11:15 pm on 9/29/21 I received a phone call. The person I spoke to was rude and disrespectful and after explaining the situation with several interruptions I was told they did not take the money from my account even though I could see it was withdrawn. I was told they wouldn't return my money and to follow up with my bank to handle it. It is now the end of Oct and I have still not received my money back.

"Choose somewhere else!"
D2166GPlisab, 08 Octobre 2021

This building is a mess. Our room had moldy bathroom ceilings, rusty fixtures missing a bulb, a broken closet door, tar in the carpet, peeling popcorn ceilings, a malfunctioning smoke detector that activated at 3 am for no apparent reason (waking us and others down the hall), several flying insects and a drippy faucet. The staff tried hard to be accommodating. The location is great. In my opinion though, I'd choose just about anywhere else.

"A good stay & a great Staff"
396trippw, 07 Octobre 2021

I'm going to start by saying that I'm really shocked by the reviews that I'm seeing here. I stay at this hotel every time I visit Williamsburg. I've seen this hotel under go a significant number of improvements over the years from new bathrooms and fixtures, new carpet, new beds, and now one of the best Mexican Restaurants in the area right next door (get their quesadilla..and tell me I'm wrong). The staff here is always welcoming and helpful. that being said, they are very proud staff. Many of its members have been employees here for more than 5 years. They are proud of where they work and the support they receive from management. Because they are proud of their work and the service they provide to their guest, they do not stand for irate or irrational customers. If you need help and you ask for it with dignity and respect they will move mountains for you. If you approach them by yelling in their face and making demands about what you need, you can expect their service to mirror your demeanor. I have never had a problem with staff or service. I've had plenty of experience watching this team appropriately and respectively handle unreasonable customers. Their patience goes well past the expectations of any professional environment.

"This property needs work"
parkerparker51, 06 Octobre 2021

Lack of attention to cleanliness, poor mattresses, and busted furniture characterize this hotel. The elevator had passed its inspection date by five months. Common areas sported furniture that was in need of repair. Stains on the carpet. The security entrance on the first floor was never actually locked, to my knowledge, and we passed through it at a number of times of day during our stay. The room had a musty smell to it. It is close to the downtown historical district, but that alone does not recommend it, as there are numerous other hotels in the vicinity that might prove to be a better choice. The door locks had been updated to a touchless card system, which is good. The fitness center was closed due to COVID, but other than that, there didn't appear to be any real attention paid to cleanliness or hygiene. The hand sanitizer dispensers near the elevator were empty. It does have a large parking lot, and an attached restaurant. We did not eat there. Breakfast consisted of a bag with a small packaged muffin, a granola bar, a mooshy apple and a small bottle of water. Coffee available via machine all day, but creamer was powdered, and the trash didn't get emptied every day. In short, management doesn't really seem to care much about this place. I'd look elsewhere on my next visit.

"Great for distance to Busch Gardens but that is where the good things stop."
kaevans0525, 28 Septembre 2021

Very disappointed with this stay. Early check in that was promised on website was unavailable, the hotel itself wasn't the cleanest Best Western I have stayed in. The employees were louder than the guests.

"Not a typical Best Western"
Laura W, 26 Septembre 2021

I will start with the only positive, the location, near everything. Selected this hotel for location and pet friendliness. Not a good green area for pets at all. Very small mulched area that a picnic table took up most of the room in and a strip of grass by parking. No waste bags or containers. Set up of hotel is odd. Enter on 2nd floor, pet floor is the basement. Killed 2 bugs in the room. Breakfast was a joke, prepackaged cereal bar and EXPIRED juice. Staff was standing around smoking Marijuana. Also when we checked out, our bill was $40 more than my email confirmation had said it would be. Never seen a Best Western this bad, would not stay here again.

"Accommodated a hybrid conference"
William M, 21 Septembre 2021

The staff was excellent as we attempted to move through Covid to hold a small national conference. More people registered for Zoom than attended in person, and the hotel made sure our set up could be handled. Debby, the sales manager, was spectacular! Thank you for your hard work in trying times. Despite some AC issues, our conference, and my stay were a success!

"Needs updating and cleaning"
mrsmcc0y, 14 Septembre 2021

Do not recommend this place. Carpet is dirty has a funky smell. Needs repairs and an exterminator. This is a poor value. Better off finding a hotel a bit further. The side door remains open with out a key card.

"Astonished"
Z6106YNmichelleg, 11 Septembre 2021

I am astonished by this hotel. They gave us a room on the first floor and all I could smell was cat pee. Never got to see the room because the three different set of keys never worked. He finally moved us to the fourth floor and when I walked in this is what I saw. Need I say more. Wouldn't give me a refund because I paid online?!? So now I have to jump through hoops to hopefully get my money back.

"Nice, Pet Friendly Hotel"
MBeacham, 07 Septembre 2021

The location was great if you are there to visit Busch Gardens and Water Country. Being a pet friendly property was a huge plus, especially since you couldn't tell when walking in the door that it was. Typically you can smell pets as soon as you walk in the lobby of a pet friendly hotel, but not this one. It was clean. No pet odor in the lobby, hallways, or the room we stayed in. Staff was friendly and the beds were so comfortable!!

"Hotel stay"
tydad2006, 07 Septembre 2021

hotel beds were good , room smelled of smoke, housekeeper smoking in room while cleaning, employees smoking at entrance she hid her cigarette after my son saw her. Dog friendly hotel but dog poop outside not cleaned up, Not dog stations to throw out

"Nice Staff"
J880ICsarahc, 03 Septembre 2021

The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel definitely needs an update. I'll say the price was fair. I always bring Clorox and Microban. I'd suggest shutting down for a day and have a deep clean. (Especially wiping down the hvac units and around windows and behind beds!) We found kids toys and random clean matched socks. Otherwise our trip was pleasant.

"Best western stay"
arnoldqueen11, 01 Septembre 2021

Decent service and I saw a few roaches and spiders but non in my room or any of my friends rooms the bed was extremely comfortable and the room cleanliness was extremely worth the price I paid for this stay 8-10 would stay Again

"Bugs and mold live here."
Jamielynn2013, 30 Août 2021

There were roaches, moldy/musty smell throughout the hotel. Mold under the bath mat and the key pad and phone did not work. We had to swipe our key 5-10 times each time entering the room and the staff didn't seem to care when we reported these things. If we didn't use our money for a hotel here we would have left but didn't have much other options. We just spent as little time in the hotel as possible and didn't bring anything home. And the noise is ridiculous, we could hear every little sound from other rooms, very hard to get any sleep.

"Vacation"
jksvan, 28 Août 2021

The hotel was very clean and the front desk was exceptional. The head of housekeeping was another story. They never empty the trash or brought us clean towels. We had to go to the front desk to get them.

"Bugs and staff!"
kaylamariemetcalf, 28 Août 2021

I found 2 roach looking bugs in my room and when I complained they said it was not. Then during my 2 day trip staff walked in my room 3 separate times using their own key not knocking. I was in the shower!

"Disgusting place"
18myrnas, 23 Août 2021

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE during checkin and had a pet and was told I would stay on the first floor put the main lobby is on the second floor so I had to take the elevator to my shock when the elevator doors open there was feces smeared all over the floor hence just 1 elevator. I went back to the front desk and complained that I was unable to enter the elevator because of the feces smeared o. The floor. The maintenance guy wipe some offf. I said sir there is still poop on the floor then the manager came and finished cleaning it up so I finally get to my room and it was in a very dingy floor bottom Floor for pets and the door was open. I proceed with caution ninja style to find that the doom was still Not ready. Sheets off of bed and in a very dingy corner of the hotel. A dark corner. I felt unsafe already so I check out and went to the Residence Inn. Beautiful hotel

"COCKROACHES"
cambolen907, 23 Août 2021

Best Western Historic Area Inn located in Williamsburg Virginia. My Little sister and I found two enormous cockroaches in our room. Went to the front desk nicely asking for a new room. With no other rooms available, desk staff called management to our room out of fear of the room themselves. Manager went up, couldn't find it, said there's nothing he can do, and left. That night my little sister found the second cockroach. That morning the same manager told me I would be getting a call from another manager in regards to a refund, phone call never happened. My little sister, let alone me, couldn't sleep with the thought of two huge cockroaches somewhere in our room. If this review would allow me to upload the photos I got, I would. Staff and management handled the situation extremely unprofessionally. I was way too friendly to have let this problem slide. I have always loved Best Westerns, what bothers me more than the cockroaches were how the situation was handled by employees who should be professional at all times and represent Best Western.

"Striving to be almost "just enough""
Sara N, 12 Août 2021

I'll start with the positives: Staff were friendly and mostly helpful. The shower was amazing! It was like being power-washed with the perfect temperature and incredible pressure. It was fabulous for washing away the stink of the day. The indoor pool was nice. The pool itself is heated and the area is warm, so you didn't get chilled getting out. Close and convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary, but I think to say it's "within walking distance" is something of a stretch. My bed was super comfortable. I don't usually sleep soundly in hotel rooms, but I slept great while we were there. Now for the rest. My teen and I stayed here for a few days while we visited colleges. When we arrived and I was waiting to check in, I kept hearing that rooms weren't clean. One gentleman finally got lucky on his fourth room. We got our keys and headed to our room. The bathroom looked to be in order and the beds were made. Then I noticed the floor. The bathroom had broken bits of rubber bands (like you'd use on hair) on the floor, and the main room just had little detritus that showed a lack of vacuuming. Additionally, the leather stool and the back of the desk chair looked like they had mud spatter on them. Housekeeping had done just enough to make the room pass for clean. As we were getting our stuff and heading out to dinner, we noticed maintenance men were checking on the cleanliness of the rooms. They'd poke their heads into darkened rooms and declare them "clean." They did just enough to check. We did see one of the front desk workers and informed her that our room hadn't been vacuumed, and she apparently took care of it while we were at dinner. There still remained rubber band bits on the bathroom floor. The refrigerator smelled like broccoli that was about a week past its best life. There was a pretty disgusting stench every time we opened it. Our view was of a lovely... brick wall and the stairs leading to the pool. Not terribly inspiring. There was some hallway noise from children (baby crying, kids playing in the hall) around mid-morning, and on our last night, we could hear noise from the pool. It stopped when the pool closed at 10. Housekeeping again did "just enough." The housekeeper would collect our used bath linens but wouldn't refresh them, nor did she empty our trash. I placed the trash outside our second full day, and she picked that up, changed out our bath linens, but didn't replace the trash bag in the trash can that was right under the counter where she placed the linens. The front desk hooked us up with linens as we needed them. The hotel is dated and worn. The paint on the bathroom door was peeling, and the carpet was rolling up under the a/c unit. The air conditioner worked great, but when we got back to the room our second full day after being gone 6-7 hours, the room felt damp. It was really humid in there, and everything--from our clothes to the toilet paper--felt moist. Breakfast was a joke, even by "Covid protection standards." I've stayed in other hotels during this pandemic, one of which was a Best Western. That hotel provided your customary continental breakfast with hot options each day, though all was served by a hotel staff member. At this particular BW in Williamsburg, breakfast was grab-and-go and consisted of a high-calorie, high-fat, high preservative, high-sugar muffin; an apple; a small bottle of water; and a Nutrigrain bar. No protein option at all. I wish I'd known ahead of time because this type of food isn't the sort that we usually eat and I would have liked to have been prepared, either budget-wise for going out or by bringing healthier options. Except for whatever they could handle from the front desk, it felt like the staff didn't care about going out of their way to take care of things. To my complaint about a lack of microwave in our room, they offered us a new room. That means we'd have had to pack up all our stuff and move to a different room. If they had that many free rooms, it would make more sense to move a microwave. It's not exactly rocket science. My teen wants to make this an annual thing, and she was the first to voice that we need to stay someplace different next time. We will. In the meantime, I'll be trying to get the funky smell of our room out of my hair.

"worst stay, won't be returning."
kbaratelli, 09 Août 2021

Stayed one night and won't be returning. Only one person working the front desk. Hallways were noisy, smelled like weed, and staff threatened to call police on noisy guest. Keys wouldn't unlock the door to the room despite front desk making three sets. The only way to enter the room was to get maintenance personnel to open it and front desk responded by saying 'well we unlocked it for you, didn't we and there's nothing else I can do." we were stuck not leaving the room and no other hotels had rooms available so we couldn't leave.

"DO NOT GO HERE"
lyssapbooxx3, 09 Août 2021

We had roaches in our room. Kids were banging on the door running up and down hallways people screaming in parking lot and loud until about 2am. I was taking a shower and also had a staff member walk in on me while getting out. I reported issues and I was told there were sports conferences down there for the weekend and a manager would contact me. Basically felt blown off. This was THE WORST service I have e we received at any hotel

"Enjoyed our stay!"
Renee G, 05 Août 2021

I was very hesitant about staying at this hotel because of some of the negative reviews. But we just returned from 3 nights at this Best Western and we enjoyed our stay! We had a room on the third floor, it was clean, it was well maintained, it was a nice size, the bed was comfortable, and the location was excellent! We loved Mexican restaurant / bar that was connected to the hotel. The food was amazing! I personally loved the horses across the street, and how close we were to Colonial Williamsburg. It is only a half a block away. It is very convenient to many restaurants and the price per night is very affordable. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

"Dirty"
raeray05, 04 Août 2021

This hotel was dirty from the lobby to room. The carpet need shampooing. The room need extrem attention. Dried food on the desk, toilet didn't really flush, grout was nasty in the sink. House keeping never took out our trash would only take out towels, but never replace them. Every night had to go to the front desk and get towels. The ceiling above the shower was caving in. The wals were mildew with wet dust because the bathroom fan didn't work. There was possible black mold in the hallway where a pipe had leaked and the Wall paper was swelling/splitting and they just put tape on it. Had to wait like 3 hrs for a cot after asking 5 times. By far the worst hotel stay. I'm just glad we didn't do anything but sleep there.

"July vacation"
bullarda2021, 04 Août 2021

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, the room smelled when we arrived, the smoke alarm had a plastic bag over it, they never vacuumed or took the trash out the entire stay. I had to ask for clean towels everyday, the pool was disgusting, the air conditioning in the halls didn't work and they never vacuumed the halls, check in time was at 4pm but our room wasn't ready until after 6pm. The staff was all very nice but thats about the only good thing I have to say.

"HORRIBLE - DON'T FALL FOR THE PRICES"
ReallyUNSATISFIED, 03 Août 2021

"Employees" with no identification of Best Western (no uniform, no name tag) aggressively knocked on our door at 9:30-10:30 am every morning during our 3 night stay. The third morning, I guess I didn't get up soon enough. Because another unmarked "employee" entered my room without permission while a do not disturb sign was on the door. Management completely passed the blame on a new staff. Moldy air conditioner, bugs, unsecure doors, IT WAS ALL BAD BEWARE

"Great location!"
t0rg0, 01 Août 2021

This hotel is literally walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are a very short (<10 min) drive. There are several places to eat nearby, as well as the attached restaurant. Will stay here again the next time we visit.

"Dirty, moldy, roach-y"
jessfitz14, 28 Juillet 2021

While the hotel staff seemed nice and friendly, there were nothing but roaches and mold in the rooms! We booked a package through Busch Gardens and at the time actually switched TO this hotel from another with bad reviews about roaches. Upon finding the first roach in our room immediately asked to be switched. I took the second room only to find another roach. Along with the stench of cigarettes - this just wasn't it. So at 10:30 at night with two little kids in tow we searched for another hotel. If you have ANY standards, do not stay here.

"Not the best"
judymO4576BQ, 20 Juillet 2021

Close to historic section, but wasn't good experience for a Best Western. Phone didn't work to get wake up call, clock didn't work, nail or something sharp was sticking up from floor in middle of room. Didn't know there wasn't housekeeping, but other hotels we have stayed at gave us clean towels on door knob in a bag but not here.

"Location and friendly staff are all it has going"
polarislm, 19 Juillet 2021

In the current service industry business environment, I hate to give any business a less-than-shining review. However, I feel a responsibility to let others know about our stay here. First, if you are in town to go to Busch Gardens or Colonial Williamsburg, the location is great. The front desk gentleman working when we arrived (Jim) was so very friendly and courteous. We had brief encounters with other staff and they all smiled and said "hello". The coffee in lobby is actually pretty good. I would suggest that versus what's in the room. But that is where the good ends. Although when first walking into the room it appeared clean and tidy, all you had to do was turn some lights on and take a second look around to learn differently. One of our two queen beds looked as though someone had been sitting on it or perhaps where the last guest put their luggage while they were packing up. The bathroom is where it really gets bad. The drain in the shower was extremely slow, so by the end of the shower you were standing in about 2 inches of water. Then as I was reaching for the shampoo, I saw about a three inch swath of hairs (leg or otherwise) where someone had shaved, stuck to the shower wall. I was almost sick. It honestly appeared the bathroom had not been cleaned in between guests. There was also mold on the shower curtain. I suspect this is due to the bathrooms not having an exhaust fan, just a vent. They are only offering a grab-and-go breakfast, which we were told consisted of a bottle of water, a piece of fruit and some sort of packaged pastry. However, it is only "served" until 9:00 a.m. If you go to the desk at 9:15 a.m. you will be denied. LOL, where did our bags get to? BTW, this was on a Sunday, so be sure to get up early for your brown bag breakfast. I would have to be pretty desperate for a room before I would book this hotel again. I truly am sorry Best Western, but I had to be honest.

"breakfast in a paper bag?"
rcnrn1, 19 Juillet 2021

The resteraunts and everything else in the state and country are open for inside dining so we didn't understand why BW is still doing the "grab and go" thing where you are given a piece of fruit and a muffin in a paper bag for breakfast. We stayed at several hotels during our vacation. BW was the only one doing the "grab and go".

"Don't stay in the Dungeon"
Jen K, 16 Juillet 2021

The basement (1st floor) rooms need to be condemned. We travel with our dogs and usually request first floor so we don't have to worry with an elevator/steps to take them outside . So we were placed in the basement which what they consider the 1st floor. The hallway was dark and not very inviting. The room was worse--dark, dirty, smelly and the door had to be slammed to keep it shut. The young man at the front desk came to look at the door, but was rude and condescending because he had NO idea what we were telling him. He than had the gentleman from maintenance come to our room, if he wasn't for him we would have demanded our money back and left the hotel. He understood and stated he would be right back with another room for us, which he did. We were moved to the 2nd floor--which is really the first floor. This room was much brighter, definitely cleaner, the furniture was an improvement and the door didn't need to be slammed. This hotel has been in existence for years in Williamsburg (many different hotel chains). The location is fantastic The basement rooms definitely need to be updated. I gave the 2.5 rating.

"Never more"
747liliant, 16 Juillet 2021

We couldn't take a shower on July 13, because there was no water in the shower. When we arrived, we had to go out to buy cleaning products to clean the bathroom, which was all dirty, and the boy who was at the front desk did not know how to solve. The room smelled musty. We had a pretty bad experience.

"Worst Best Western I have stayed at"
larrythibault, 28 Juin 2021

This is a tired, not cared for hotel. Phone did not work, ice machines that were broken and the carpet in room was sticky, just to name a few items. This is a very old, tired hotel that needs to be put to sleep.

"Good value, lacking everywhere else"
whispurrr, 08 Juin 2021

We had pre-check in but no directions of what to do after that, so we did in a long line waiting to check in and get our keys. I still have no idea what the advanced check in did for us. The room was comfortable but needed some work. Namely: the bathroom door didn't shut, we got locked out of our room twice in 3 days, AC was leaking into the carpet around it, front desk was often unattended, all soda machines are out of order, I don't think there is breakfast - at least not one we were told about, lighting is poor. But it was an inexpensive stay. I'm not sure if we will go there next time. It will have to be a great value.

"Great location, average hotel"
Paul C, 19 Avril 2021

We loved that most everything was within 10 minutes: restaurants, golf courses, and a wawa. We were here for a golf vacation. Chose this BW for its gym, pool, and breakfast. Of those, only the pool was open. Gym closed due to mold/mildew and buffet due to COVID. New breakfast is a bagged option with fruit, granola bar, and cereal. Go to Shortys instead. Aggravated by the fact that they don't check on your room for new towels every day -- we had three men sharing towels. Had to chase them down each day before we left for the day. Very annoying. Mattresses were unusually firm for a typical hotel which was greatly appreciated. Carpets are old and smell of old, stale cigarettes but it's not overwhelming. Overall an average hotel but above average for the price.

"Very nice, Very clean and very close to the historic area"
kbratton1201, 15 Avril 2021

We were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western in Williamsburg. The room size cleanliness and service were equal to the rooms we stay in at Walt Disney World. We were able to walk to the historic area, and our dog was able to stay with us.

"Great locale for a Best Western"
Christopher C, 01 Avril 2021

I chose to stay here because of the price and a pool for my kids. I like Best Western hotels and I was not disappointed. The location is about about a mile from the city center of historic Williamsburg. What a quaint little town. Can't beat this place!

"The perfect stay!!"
I1456KKrichardh, 29 Mars 2021

We have been frequent visitors to Williamsburg over the past 24 years. Over that time, we have stayed in all the quality hotels in the area. We had heard that this Best Western had been renovated, so figured we would give it a try. An absolute perfect stay. The entire facility is very inviting. Our family has a wedding in the future and this Best Western will be our first choice for putting up family members and hosting the reception. This hotel is located the best for taking in Colonial Williamsburg (just a short walk) and other local attractions and even for day trips to Virginia Beach. Also, the restaurant is wonderful! All this and a great staff: friendly, helpful, accommodating. Most importantly these days, their corona/covid protocols are very good and we felt quite comfortable. We'll be staying here on our future visits to Williamsburg.

"Dog pound? Security?"
pnygrl, 24 Mars 2021

I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. The first attempt to check in a room failed with key cards that wouldn't open the door. A trip downstairs to the desk -back upstairs to find the second set of key cards did not open the door! This time the front desk clerk came up with different keys and got the door open. Unfortunately when we left for dinner, we discovered the door would not lock behind us! Another trip down to the front desk, and the clerk comes up and says we can't fix this -you have to move to another room, this was after I had already unpacked a lot of things. By that time we heard a dog howling & Barking that was left alone in a room nearby! Approx 8 pm- When questioned , the desk clerk said there was nothing he could do about the noise or the dog. At that point we asked for a refund and just left! Nightmare experience!

"Holiday Travel"
J3820ZCchrism, 26 Janvier 2021

When I traveled to Historic Williamsburg I enjoy staying at the Best Western. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The clean staff always provide a great service to keep my room super clean and neat. I would not stay any other place else. The rooms are perfect for resting between my plans in the historic area.

"Drug dealers in parking lot"
170jess93, 31 Décembre 2020

There were cars parked in the parking lot with a guy getting in and out of one car meeting people at cars that pulled into the lot. He would go to the window of the cars pulling in and we saw him exchange something hand to hand with someone in the cars twice. We took our kids to a different hotel for the rest of our vacation and never even asked for a refund. They probably have no idea that we left early. The hotel doesn't seem too concerned with guest experiences. Very suspicious people in the parking lot doing very suspicious things. The parking lot is very dark with not much lighting. It just doesn't seem safe.

"Dishonest Management and Check Your Bank Statement"
P4273HU, 23 Décembre 2020

Dishonest.. Double check any transactions on your bank statements. I did, my bank and I processed (4) over charges for fraudulent transactions. When I called to discuss this with the hotel manager, he become disturbingly irate on the phone and left some nonsense on my review about how I booked. As a longer stay guest, who originally left a good review about this "just ok" property (roaches everywhere, food on the hall floor that sat there for days and doors that are too small for the door frame causing a lot of the hall's light into your room), I am shocked to see what some of the hotel staff were doing with my payment card when I would check into this hotel. This is not usual for me to leave a bad review either, but future guest need to know how badly this hotel is managed. The hotel managers will make complaints to you, as a paying guest, if you should book through a third party because of the third party's commission fees. After the complaints, they will offer to do a "price match" to match the price of the third party's price so they can book your stay through the hotel directly, avoiding commission fees. Yet, in my case, you will still be charged through the third party reservation and the hotel too for the same reservation. From my understanding, the hotel still receives the collected funds taken by the third party booking platform as well. Meaning, being paid twice for the same hotel reservation time period. If you are getting a good deal online with a third party, book that way because it will do you no benefit to help out a hotel complaining about their financial struggles. I use Priceline, but it seems that most of the online companies are owned by Expedia. So if you book through Priceline, it will be sent to the hotel with the Expedia name on it. The manager even complained to me about saying Priceline and not Expedia. As if I was lying about what platform I booked through. Pathetic... I have been trying to receive my rental documents from this hotel since July, several months after my stay, in order to assist myself and my bank in finding the charges that are the fraud charges from this hotel. With much diligence and time invested, I was able to collect all of the info needed to help myself out of this nightmare and fraudulent experience. My bank disputed the charges with the hotel and they hotel never responded to my bank. They also never responded to Best Western Corp when the brand HQ tried to get involved. This is what a BW Corp manager told me. All in all, I received my over charges bank into my account because my bank and I did all of the work to get my money back from this dishonest business.

"Historic WIlliamsburg"

We were close enough to Historic Williamsburg to walk there. Everything appeared clean. The fitness room was closed due to COVID, which was expected. Personnel at front desk were exceptionally nice and helpful.

"Staff and Location for the WIN!"
valdomx, 05 Décembre 2020

So this is a very budget friendly hotel with limited frills. However, the location is as close as you can get to the Colonial district making it really convenient and the staff is just so genuine and kind making it feel like home. Tasha in particular is a gift and represented the hotel so well.

"For the price can't be beat."
juliedfed, 30 Novembre 2020

We chose this hotel because we traveled with our two dogs and they have a liberal pet policy here. We were on kennel alley down our hallway, but the sound-proofing was superb, we weren't bothered in the least! The staff was beyond friendly, they were super-stars. So refreshing to meet such nice people. The room was clean, white bedding and towels were spotless, location was very good. We would stay here again, even over some nicer properties.

"Quick stay - friendly staff"
LoveTravel563306, 15 Novembre 2020

Overall was a very quick trip but the hotel was very clean, extremely affordable rate, hot water, comfy bed, and they even made breakast to go bags for the morning. I was leaving at 430 and they had the bag ready to go. With the obvious pandemic, the hotel did not need to provide breakfast, but they did. The staff i interacted with were extremely friendly.

"Great Location for a faboulous price"
EdwardTjGerety, 05 Novembre 2020

This location is located perfectly for both Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. It is mostly up-to-date and has an excellent indoor pool that allowed our five families to swim comfortably. Bravo!

We always stay at this hotel and the service is always great. It is a very convenient location relative to the historic area and within walking distance and convenient to restaurants and other shopping.

"Thankful"
sunnycrystalfarms, 11 Septembre 2020

My husband is working in the area and while looking for a longer term place to stay we've stayed in many of the hotels in Williamsburg. This one is by far my favorite. We even stayed at the Bluegreen next door and while that one is very nice, I would choose this hotel over the more expensive places. The rooms are clean and smell nice and clean when you walk in the door. Some hotels have pictures that look great but you walk in and the smell doesn't match. The most important thing that they have here is a caring staff, especially Debbie. They are all friendly and helpful from the maintenance man we meet the first night to the housekeepers. That makes a huge difference! The maintenance man talked to us and helped us out and that's impressive. We didn't have to ask he just knew and approached us. I don't know his name or all of their names but I am thankful for them all! The restaurant attached,Maria Bonitas has the best tacos I have ever eaten. I like there street tacos and the regular tacos. I love the indoor pool too. I know where I will always stay in Williamsburg when I need a place to stay again. I've tried enough of them and too many problems at many of the hotels that you dont know about until you get there. I really appreciate the people here, thank you for all you do!!

From the minute that we walked in the door, the experience was amazing. Tasha at the front desk was helpful, professional, and friendly and she continuously went out of her way to help us. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and the hotel was extremely clean and right around the corner from Historic Downtown.

"Great stay!"
davidrQ1664KE, 23 Août 2020

The hotel is close to everything I wanted to do, and it was super clean. The price was great for what you got. The indoor pool was HUGE, the room was a standard size, but there were plenty of clean towels, the linens were clean and fresh, the room smelled clean, and the staff was amazing! Tasha and Justin were the best.. thank you for a great stay!

"Worst Best Western I've Stayed In"
christianaglorius, 17 Août 2020

The only reason I didn't give this property one star was because of the lovely staff who were very kind and accommodating. The rooms were clean. This hotel needs a facelift in a bad way. The first floor is completely mildewed and all the doors leading to the courtyard are broken. Although it is advertised that there is a Hot Tub, it has been sealed over and now hosts a table and chairs. Was completely locked out of our room for over an hour, due to the modified door lock malfunctioning and failing to disengage the lock. We were switched to a different room (after literally breaking into our previous room and retrieving our items), which had a strange smell although it was a Non-Smoking Room. Due to this nonsense, our itinerary for the evening had to be completely scrapped. Did not get any sleep due to the raucous which was the hallways and the dogs that WOULD NOT STOP BARKING. I feel utterly ripped off for paying what I did, when I could've gotten the same experience at a road side motel. Would not recommend to anyone, and is a disgrace to the Best Western Name. In short, don't stay here.

"Comfortable stay"
ciscop751, 25 Juillet 2020

Our family had a great time- friendly and helpful staff that went out of their way to assist, kids enjoyed the large indoor pool, close to all the sites! We recommend this economical and comfortable stay.

"Fantastic Staff & Comfortable Hotel"
P4273HU, 12 Juillet 2020

My many visits to this property have always been met with a warm greeting from the wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are kept in immaculate condition by the room attendants who are very professional. The hotel is located within walking distance to the historic area. Which means the location is beautiful. As well as a horse pasture, that is part of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, being right across the street from the property. The value of this hotel is unparalleled to others in Williamsburg, making this hotel my first choice above any other.

"Weekend getaway"
LMNNewJersey, 08 Mars 2020

Hotel room was clean. The first floor smelled from smoke. The reception was quick and painless. Great location and great staff. The servers at breakfast were extremely helpful. Not the best but not the worst hotel. The price was right!

"Good Deal"
stuartdeg, 24 Février 2020

If you don't need extra amenities/resort features, this is a good deal. No trouble with internet, quick check-in and check-out, and convenient location make this hotel a good place to stay overnight. You can't hear the train, though you may be able to hear your floor neighbors' doors if they're allowed to slam.

"Nice hotel and value for the price!"
928sarat, 23 Février 2020

I don't know about these reviews that talked about mold, etc. My room was clean and spacious. It had everything I needed including a fridge. My room was close to the exit which was very convenient. They allow dogs to stay. They have an indoor pool. The price was reasonable. The only reason is not a 5, is there are areas that need updating. I would stay here again!

"Don't bother"
kaylahB2102EW, 02 Janvier 2020

Gross. Mold in the showers and on ceilings. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. They need to do some serious upkeep on this property. The older lady who checked us in was extremely friendly and welcoming. When we first checked in, our rooms were not finished with housekeeping. When I came back later in the day to pick up the keys, the redhead man at the front desk was an absolute ass. When I asked if a room could be moved to be closer to the handicapped room we booked for my grandfather, he provided me with another room. It appeared based on the number that this would be further away. When I asked, he said, "If you would let me talk, I could explain it to you." I hadn't been talking over him or talking to him at all, for that matter, until I asked about the numbers. I was quietly waiting while he worked on the computer. I asked if I had done something to offend him, and he rolled his eyes about it. What an incorrigible jerk! If he doesn't want that job, hire someone else who is pleasant. Good God it can't be that hard to find someone to be nice.

"Close to Colonial Williamsburg and Reasonable"
Richard L, 30 Décembre 2019

Very nice !! I'd say 4-1/2 stars. Staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was extra but worth it compared to prices charged by outside pancake houses . . . and convenient. Problems resolved quickly and fairly. I booked for 4 nights and extended another night. If you are REALLY fussy about everything, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. But the closest price was $50 and up per night more for a similar location - close and convenient, with very dedicated employees . . . some with 30 years of service or more. That says a lot to me. We'll stay there again next year.

"Lots of Room for Improvement"
Marietta P, 26 Décembre 2019

Cleanliness: All seemed clean in room, hallways less so but carpet is old and holds dirt. Bed quality: Bed slept well but sheets were a little scratchy. The box bed frame/platform extended beyond the mattress/box spring at the foot of the bed by several inches. I bumped my toes on the metal several times and that wasn't pleasant. Hotel staff eventually adjusted the frame by moving it toward the head of the bed so that it no longer extended beyond the foot of the bed. Reception friendliness/treats: Pleasant reception. No treats. They have coffee in the lobby. Never saw hot chocolate. Furnishing quality: Satisfactory - onder and aging. Internet: Excellent. I was able to stream TV shows in my room with no lagging. Bathroom: Faucet tap in room 458 does not extend far enough into the sink so water piles up on the counter in front of the fixture when you put your hand under the tap. No hooks to hang towels to let them dry to use again - except the shower rod. The towel rack above the toilet was full of towels so no space there to dry anything (suppose I could have removed all the hand towels and then used the bar at the bottom of that rack). Better yet, the hotel should install at least one towel hook on the inside of the bathroom door. Charging: Only one outlet on bedside in lamp. Not sufficient for charging my three devices. There were two outlets available at the desk so the person using the desk was set. Elevator: Very slow. The elevator is at the back of hotel. Noise level: Quiet Breakfast: Not included in room rate. Provide free for diamond level BW guests. I'm glad I didn't need to pay because the buffet was bad. The eggs were cold and had been sitting for hours. The bread had dried out. The brown sugar for the oatmeal was also very dried out. Bread was placed on top to keep it soft but the bread might have been added days before. The little donuts were also very stale (they must set out the same tray day after day and store it in the same container). One day the sausage gravy was the consistency of milk (not gravy). There were some good items: Nice oatmeal and Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt. On our last day we had table service and no buffet. I got an omelet that was slightly better than any hot item found on the buffet the days before. Other: There was only one one working ice machine that had to be shared between four floors. The working ice machine did not have a tray that you could set the ice bucket on. The non-working ice machines did have a tray. The hotel might consider moving the tray from one of the non-working machines to the one that works. This would make it easier for guests to fill ice buckets as they wouldn't need to try and hold the bucket with one hand while pushing the dispense button with the other.

"Cozy and close to everything"
southerntravelle2018, 25 Décembre 2019

Very nice, older hotel. We had a dog with us, and for the price and cleanliness, and how close it is to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, it suited us just fine. Indoor pool, but we didn't use it. Water pressure in tiny bathroom was the only complaint. We will stay again.

"Holiday season"

It was a wonderful stay and experience, Summer and Ashley were professional and courteous. Gave me all the information i needed and even referred a excellent place to eat while i was in the area! "inexpensive for this area but the room was dirty and needs renovated"
mcpoppen, 14 Décembre 2019

For the price of this hotel in the Williamsburg area, this was good. But the room was dirty and is in need of renovation. The front staff at check-in was not at all customer service oriented. The location for walking to Colonial Williamsburg was great.

"Not remotely the Best."
MichaelofCanandaigua, 12 Décembre 2019

Our tour group stayed at this place for a week. Had we been there on our own we would have checked out after one night. To start with, the toilet took repeated flushings to operate correctly. Then we found that the closet door would fall off the track whenever we tried to close it. We notified the front desk who said they'd send up a maintenance man. When we returned nothing had changed despite the fact that we were assured they'd been fixed. We again asked for repairs. The next day we were again assured everything was fixed. The problems persisted, We gave up trying to get action. Our last night there we found that the sink was leaking onto the floor. We didn't waste our time reporting it. The dining situation was no better. Although the breakfast buffet was OK, the eggs, bacon, etc. were always tepid to cold. We complained and things improved for one day. Then the temperature returned to substandard. The one positive feature is the location. An easy walk to the historic district.

"Dirty & Poor Service"
mwohl4, 06 Décembre 2019

When we arrived, there was a dead bug & animal feces in both corners under the sink. I was staying 3 nights, & reported this 3 times. It was never cleaned up, and 1 day maid service didn't come at all. Each time I reported it, I was told "Sorry" but no one offered to clean it up.

"Fabulous Stay"
booklover5422, 30 Novembre 2019

We had a wonderful few days in Williamsburg over the Thanksgiving holiday. The location is perfect for walking to Colonial Williamsburg! It is especially close to the CW bus stop. The desk clerks were so helpful & kind, especially when we decided to leave a day early to get back for the Clemson game! My husband & son enjoyed the indoor pool. The room was extremely affordable & super clean! As a W&M alum, Williamsburg is my favorite place to visit. This was our first stay at the BW Historic, but it won't be our last!

"Dirty and disgusting"
esparzak23, 18 Novembre 2019

There were Water stains on the ceiling in room and bathroom. The wallpaper was falling off the wall in spots. There was no Refrigerator as quoted with the room. When ask about issues was told new people are taking over no one wants to give money to fix any of these issues. Really just felt like we were in a run down motel.

"Good value"
Michael L, 10 Novembre 2019

Hotel is strangely configured. Elevator is down a long hallway. No signs indicate where it is located. Had to ask two people before we found it. Room was nice, clean, nothing exceptional but everything worked and it was fine for our visit.

"Great place to stay in Williamsburg!"
O6345QZrobertc, 08 Novembre 2019

Great location. Nice people. Comfortable, clean rooms. Everything you need for a stay in Williamsburg. Convenient to everything. Absolutely outstanding value for the money and reasonable, pet friendly as well.

"Good place to stay in Williamsburg!!"
cosborn42, 27 Octobre 2019

An excellent facility that exhibited true Southern Hospitality! We were treated almost like family and the food was well prepared and served graciously. The beds were comfortable and our needs met very well.

"Convenient to Historic area but on the railroad tracks"
mvburke, 27 Octobre 2019

The room was large with bathtub, microwave, small frig, non-slip mat in tub. BUt it is on the railroad tracks and several long freight trains go thru during the day and night. Also, the housekeeping staff make too much noise in the mornings, holding loud personal conversations in the hall. There was at least one large group staying here and they, too, seemed to be holding their meetings in the corridor.

"Older but very nice."
GAW56, 23 Octobre 2019

Make sure that you try the breakfast buffet. It's great and the people are very friendly. Convenient to all attractions. Very easy to get in and out of. Very comfortable bed. I will definitely stay again.

"Awful Smell and Roaches"
Timothy987654, 15 Octobre 2019

The inside has a very distinct mildew smell especially near the laundry facilities, It smelled pretty awful. I found a couple of dead roaches in the stairwell adjacent the the entrance with the blue awning. I noticed these roaches were never removed, and bet they are still there lying on their back. I would pass on the restaurant food given my observations. Spend a little more money and stay at the Holiday Inn Express a couple miles away.

"Chatty Cathy Fling"
DDEAN133, 14 Octobre 2019

Excellent in every way! Food great, service great, decor great...BEST OF ALL - the beds were so comfortable!!! Check in easy and out easy...Couldn't ask for a better hotel.Would highly recommend to anyone!!!

"Nice pet friendly accommodations "
155lizag, 06 Octobre 2019

We stayed here for two nights in order to attend the occasion for the arts. We had three small dogs with us so hotel options were limited. We were very pleased with the hotel. It is an older building, but it was clean and quite comfortable. The room did not have an animal smell as some pet friendly hotels do. The location was amazing, the walk to the colonial district was easy and very pleasant. We would definitely stay here again if traveling with pets!

"Worked out wonderful....."
cptkurk, 01 Octobre 2019

The hotel was central to everywhere we went in Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the people extremely friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My son and I loved it.

"Very nice hotel"
Daniel M, 25 Septembre 2019

This was our first time staying at this Beat Western. We usually stay at the one on the other end. Which you have to drive to the historicl area unless you like a good hike. This Hotel is basically a couple blocks away. Definetly with in walking distance. The Hotel was clean and the front desk was very freindly and helpful. This hotel had all the amenities such as refrigerator and such as waell as complimentary coffe by the front desk. Only problem was they don't have the continental breakfast. the pool looked clean. We didn't use it though. other than that it was nice and convvenient to all the attractions, shops and dinning . Would recomend it to all.

"Great place"
jparlett, 24 Septembre 2019

The hotel was as expected and the staff very helpful. The things we missed (breakfast, microwave), were things we knew up front - so were not unexpected. The location is a quiet one, yet not too far from the shops and restaurants.

"Soooo close to Colonial Williamsburg"
lorettag255, 22 Septembre 2019

You can tell it is an older building - a few water stains on the ceiling are a sure give away. But it is obvious that the employees are all proud of the establishment and are careful to ensure guests are happy

"Good value and location"
cbswaim, 13 Septembre 2019

This hotel has been there for at least 40+ years, but they have done a good job updating the rooms. My wife is a stickler for cleaning and they passed her test too! Good location and convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and a short shuttle to Busch Gardens.

"Great location, good deal for the price"
Janhavi R, 03 Septembre 2019

We got the hotel package thru Busch gardens. It was a great deal overall. The hotel is conveniently located. Checkin at 10pm was smooth. Basic 2-queen bed room. Couple of issues - saw a dead cockroach under the bathroom sink on the floor, housekeeping skipped cleaning our room (not sure if they saw a Do No Disturb sign..but we think we took it out). Beds were comfortable, limited choice of TV channels but we didnt really watch too much TV. Did not try the pool or fitness center or breakfast option. Great breakfast option close by - Colonial pancakges--highly recommend it. We ate there both the days. Good stay at BW overall. Would recommend this to others as a good deal for the money.

"Beautiful country"
jmodb11, 02 Septembre 2019

We have never been to Virginia. It is absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the bestwestern in Williamsburg. The staff was great and very polite. We had a great choice of breakfast. The room was nice and comfy. Plenty of close dinning near by. Great place to stay

"Suprisingly Great!!!"
romeo79j, 01 Septembre 2019

I haven't stayed at a Best Western in years...price was great, room was great will return next time i come back home. I stumbled upon the hotel on a google search about 1 am. The staff checked me in with no problems....Thanks Best Western!

"Are you kidding me!"
Mamibear7675, 31 Août 2019

I guess when you walk into a hotel with your family and the first thing you see is the front desk girl you'd expect a hello or at least a smile. She literally looked mad that we walked in. Then , I'm sorry but if your going to smoke , please be curteous and spray something. The whole front reaked of cigarette smoke. Then later on that day I came down to ask for something and she got up and told the other person, "I'm going to smoke a cigarette I'll be right back" looked like she didn't want to help me. I'm sorry but the other staff during our stay was super nice and polite. This young lady seemed to be under the influence of something. I'm sorry. Just trying to give honest advise.

"Dinner and Date Night"
64dustinm, 30 Août 2019

Jolene and crew were magnificent...I would highly recommend a visit to the amazing bourbon street bar and grill. We had a wonderful night thanks to the professional staff! If you ever need anything please ensure you are asking your servers or bartenders your concerns...

"Couldn't leave fast enough"
Q4680BKtj, 27 Août 2019

Oh boy...I should have read the reviews on here before booking a stay. With all of the great feedback from others regarding the updates and renovations to Best Western in general, I thought nothing of it and was willing to give it a try. Well, as we drove into the lot, my heart sunk a slight bit from the parking lot but in my head, I told myself to not make a first impression from the outside. Upon entering the lobby, I first noticed the smell of stale cigarettes and "dirt" from the door, then my eyes caught sight of the stained fabric chairs inviting you to have a seat (no way). The front desk reminded me of the old motels from decades ago but the young lady at the counter was so nice. In the end, I felt sorry for what she had to deal with and she is the reason I at least give the place 1 star. We received our room cards and proceeded to grab our luggage. Since our room was on the left side of the building, we chose to drive to the side of it where there was a canopied entrance for guests. The lobby is actually on the 2nd floor in the front of the building so when entering from the side, you are on the 1st floor. The smell was not any better at this entrance. We located the elevator, which blended in with the guest room doors and at first, can be mistaken for a service elevator. It did not have air so it was so hot and humid riding it up to the 2nd floor. Our room was the last of horrid smells we encountered. There was a previous guest's food still in the mini fridge, including their insulin. The room was very dusty so I am not sure how long the food was in there. Immediately, I took a bag and decided to toss (garbage cans in the lobby). We were ready to walk out and then I thought to give it a chance. That was until we noticed the awful windows with dead bugs, bug webbing, dirt and a screw to keep it shut, forgot to mention all of the mold everywhere. After running the air conditioner unit for only 5 minutes, all of us had extreme headaches coming on...this is when I whipped out my laptop and booked a room with my Hilton account further in town. Thank goodness because our headaches lightened up as soon as we were in the car running clean air around us. I stopped at the desk and the young lady was concerned as to why I was back, requesting to check out right away. At first, I thought of fibbing with the "family emergency" excuse but she needed to report this to higher positions. I was very kind to her but I am not being kind with my review for the overall establishment. She also informed me how the 1st floor will flood during rain storms, causing some of the smell. Great...it rained everyday that we were in Williamsburg too! We were in our room for not even 15 minutes before running out the door from the roach motel from hell. When booking, I may have mistaken this location for the one off Bypass Road, which looked new and refreshing. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not give BW another chance. We ended up at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Bypass Rd which was only a Hop, Skip and Jump to the Visitor Center and all of Colonial Williamsburg. #Hilton4Life

"Disappointed"
LightPacker790076, 25 Août 2019

Absolutely the worst. Building is in disrepair. Leaks in ceilings leading to saturated hallway carpets. Mildew smell throughout hotel. Pool area filthy. Tub in room was clogged so 6 inches of water accumulated during shower. Old amenities. Breakfast is a $9.50 charge even though this was not stated at check-in.

"Great!"
Raven G, 24 Août 2019

The staff are so friendly and nice, great breakfast options, work out room, pool, laundry, and a few games! Bubbly and talkative staff, so sweet! Breakfast was so good! Definitely recommend staying here!

"Bed bugs!"
BMW0817, 18 Août 2019

My daughter woke up crying at 5 am. I turned the lights on so I could cover her back up only to discover a bed bug crawling across the comforter. I went to take a shower after sleeping in infested bedding, and there were hairs in the folded towels. The front desk was very kind and apologetic, but I was only reimbursed 40 of my 135 dollars. I was in room 151, so if anyone is currently checked in, check the mattress and bedding thoroughly!!!

"Convenient to Historic District Colonial Lifestyle"
pollytalknyc, 08 Août 2019

Excellent location a short taxi ride to Visitor's center. Leave your car and take the shuttle. This hotel has a swimming pool which is a welcome treat after a day of sightseeing. Nice room, too with air conditioning. No restaurant on premises but one nearby. You can bring in food, room has refrigerator, micro wave and the staff is friendly eager to answer questions, if needed.WYFI Availavble and 2 computers at business center for hotel guests

"Service needs to be better!!!"
271hollyh, 28 Juillet 2019

Our “adult children” came to Williamsburg for the weekend for Busch Gardens and Water Country. After a long day at Busch Gardens, came back to check in and collapse. Waking up the next morning to head to Water Country, pick up pillows that go on the bed (brought their own pillows from home) only to find this gem?!?? At $170+ a night, this is unacceptable! After showing the front desk pics and explaining the situation, they were given $33 off their stay?!? Again, not acceptable! Hopefully, 33+ people will see this review and change their minds on staying at this property!! Disgusting conditions and disgusting customer service!

"Awesome stay"
esawye112736, 18 Juillet 2019

Staff was friendly and helpful. Came in late and it wasn't an issue. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only issue was the toilet seemed backed up when flushing everything came up. It went down but just took a while.

"Worst stay ever at a Best Western Hotel"
091958071959, 07 Juillet 2019

Our room did not have a microwave and we requested one. Front desk employee informed me a microwave(public) was in the lobby and on inquiry later stated the maintenance person would be delivering one to our room but was never received. Refrigerator was only cool not cold had to purchase a cooler. The exhaust fan in bathroom was broken, therefore, had to shower with bathroom door open. We are Best Western Reward Members and never had to pay for breakfast at any previous locations. It has always been complimentary! Very disappointed with our stay at Best Western Williamsburg Historic District.

"This felt more like a motel than a hotel"
Meemers333, 07 Juillet 2019

The place is very outdated. The bathroom gave me skeevies and didn't feel clean. There was this mat in the bath tub that looked really old and not clean. And, the door was rotting on one side. Also, for some reason, it's very loud. We could hear our neighbors through the evening.

"Great Experience at BW"
Timothy M, 06 Juillet 2019

Everything was very smooth here in Williamsburg, Va. The desk personnel were especially effective as concierges in additin to help with technical details of checking people in and our on a busy holiday.

"Very excellent stay. The hotel appearance, amenities, service, and location were all excellent."
Arthur C, 05 Juillet 2019

The service, appearance, location, quality of amenities and the comfort of the rooms were all great. We have stayed at more than 50 Best Western Hotel, and this is one of the best of the best that we have stayed.

"Good Place Well Located"
Dave B, 28 Juin 2019

Stayed here for 5 days recently. For the price we paid it was good. Seems a little dated in some place. Carpet seems wore in some areas. It does have a breakfast bar in the morning but it is not free. Also there is a resturant attached to the hotel as well for evening meals. Beds are OK Ours were a little worn. Room cleaning starts early so be aware of that. Pool is nice and is enclosed. Walking distance to downtown Colony Williamsburg which makes it nice.

"Dog friendly - Had the joint to ourselves!"
corrine926, 19 Juin 2019

My son, dog and I stayed back in February. The rates seemed affordable (+$30/day for the dog). We pretty much had the place to ourselves until the last day, which was cool. Room was average to above average for cleanliness, but the bathtub was a had someone elses hair and did not drain very well at all. The beds were clean, but the sheets were a bit scratchy. The biggest thing this place was missing was a microwave/fridge in the room- this would have made our stay much easier and it seems like most competing properties have them. The indoor pool and the towels there were warm and clean. The girl at the front desk was so, so very helpful and pleasant. I was counting on the restaurant next door to be open, but it wasn't so that was a little disappointing. This location is SUPER walkable to Colonial Williamsburg and Quarterpath Park (a fun hidden gem)! Also, the property is pretty huge so we had lots of space to walk our dog.

"Mini Vacation "
Cindy S, 16 Juin 2019

I always stay at a Best Western when we travel. This property was clean. The rooms were clean and the staff was polite. I was offered a gift bag for being a platinum member. The beds were really soft.

"Lacking customer service"
G8951ARjessm, 14 Juin 2019

My 3 star rating is not about the hotel. The only problem I saw was a little old urine that had not been cleaned off of the front of the toilet in our room and had puddled around the bottom a little..not a deal breaker. My 3 stars is for the errors the front desk kept making with our payments. I made reservations for 2 rooms for 2 nights using my bank card to hold the reservation. When we arrived my mother gave the man at the counter her credit card and told him to charge both rooms, both nights on her credit card instead of my bank card. Saturday morning I wake up to find that they charged it all on my bank card. We went to the front desk and the lady said she did not even have any of my mothers credit card info in the computer but she would fix it by crediting my card and charging my mothers. Now, at this point my days activities are already limited because they withdrew over $500 from my bank account. When the lady "fixed" the error, she did so by only crediting one night of one room back to my bank card. The following morning my mother went back down to the front desk and let them know they had messed it up again. Next step, they charge my mothers credit card for 2 rooms for 2 nights and still have a charge on my bank account for one room, one night. I called the hotel and left a message for both the accounting office and the manager and no one returned my call. Luckily, the issue has been corrected but no one could even give me the courtesy of a phone call after all of the inconveniences and after my trip was partially ruined because of the money they took out the first night. I will be going back to Williamsburg this summer and I really would have loved to stay at the same hotel but I don't think that will happen..so disappointing. Had none of this happened..definitely would have been 5 stars.

"Great place, close to the historic Williamsburg. Loved it."
MariaLozHd, 28 Mai 2019

The location of the hotel is excellent, a few steps from the historic downtown of Williamsburg. In less than 5 minutes of walking is the capitol. Also, the walk to the historic district is great, full of large green areas. The hotel exceeded my expectations given the price, the staff is very friendly specially in the resaturant, the place is very clean, comfortable room, ideal for good quality resting. Breakfast, although not included, the price is decent and they have discount for the guests, also it is good. They give free coffee, good. Internet good. The pool is cold, it is not heated, although thanks to the weather of the days it was fine. To improve: -Pool not heated. -The restaurant closes early, there are not many dining options nearby if you do not have a car.

"good value, clean, excellent location"
Wanderer24340807491, 28 Mai 2019

This is an older hotel in the historic district among a bunch of others. It has been kept up and is clean, nothing fancy. Room was comfortable. Nothing to complain about. Kids loved the large pool. Wifi worked well. Best thing was the location. 1-2 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg and nearby restaurants.

"Awesome"
Companion11177063488, 24 Mai 2019

I came in from out of town for my spouse's best friend wedding at the Williamsburg location and it was one of the best stays at a hotel i have ever stayed at. I cant wait to stay again. The rooms were amazing and welcoming.

"Disgusting Room"
7681519, 01 Mai 2019

The room we got was disgusting and smell. We all got severe allergy after a few minutes staying in the room. Please look at the pictures I have attached. I do not understand Why Best Western has provided such low quality room for their customer. Will never stay in Best Western again.

"Cockroaches in room"
Triplet F, 26 Avril 2019

Woke up to a bathroom full of cockroaches. Put the bathroom light on and they all scattered, but was able to catch one under a cup as proof. We did bring it to the managers attention who was very apologetic. We we're supposed to be there for 4 nights while visiting Busch Gardens with our children. The manager offered to move us to another room but at that point I just wasn't comfortable. He did refund all of our money and we found a different hotel to stay at for our vacation. It was definitely inconvenient but the manager handled the situation very well and we appreciated it.

"Nice and pet friendly"
Coastal38198263609, 26 Avril 2019

Was very nice to find a pet friendly hotel as we couldn't find many around. Do not recommend ground floor room next to laundry, can be noisy. Shower held water (reported at checkout) but overall was nice.

"Clean & adequate"
Pwest03, 21 Avril 2019

We stayed at this hotel Friday night & found it to be completely serviceable for a one night stay. The lobby & rooms appear updated & are nice looking. The beds were comfortable enough, the room was clean, the air conditioning worked, & it was spacious enough for the 3 of us. The bathroom door opens too close to the toilet - it's a strange space arrangement. We don't make a habit of staying in pet friendly hotels due to allergies but found options to be slim having to. Book a room last minute. No allergy issues from the room but we did hear a dog barking a lot the morning we left, starting early. I suppose the owners left it in the room as it barked pretty much nonstop for a few hours. Overall, I say it's a decent hotel.

".......,..."
Sightsee37331856280, 02 Avril 2019

I would never visit this property again, there was no refrigerator nor a microwave to store or warm up my food. The shower in the room still had hair in it, the toilet seat was broken, and the emergency exit was left open. Never would stay again

"Good night's sleep with reasonable breakfast"
Erin R, 31 Mars 2019

The hotel is nice and basic, in a part of town that's almost all hotels, but clean, reasonably priced, near the historic district, and with a decent hot breakfast buffet. Nothing fancy, but just what I needed. The hotel is set back from the main Street a but, which makes it easy to miss when driving by, but nicer at night because it's a bit more sheltered from the road. There is a mix of business and families, and the families really enjoyed the small pool and jacuzzi.

"It's like coming home"
Larry S, 19 Mars 2019

When I checked in Thursday, March 15, 2019, The receptionist called out" We've been expecting you!". And that was the beginning of a great stay. Rooms are clean, the staff is helpful, and you are within walking distance of historic Williamsburg. Soon after arriving, Events Coordinator. Debbie Kuhn checked to see that everything was in order. And that was the second time I was greeted as an old friend. By Sunday morning when we were getting ready to leave, we knew everybody, even the hotel restaurant staff who served a good breakfast buffet and a good bye hug. My group reunites every two years. We will definitely be back next time.

"Great deal!"
SusanC3982, 16 Mars 2019

This Best Western offers the guest an excellent price for a room within walking distance of the historic area of Colonial Williamsburg. One of the horse paddocks sits directly across from the Best Western property, so the guest can easily visit the area. Being pet-friendly makes this place great for those who travel with their four-legged family members.

"Pleasant Visit"
rchrisr109, 22 Février 2019

Was heading back north and decided to stay in Williamsburg again. Travelling with my cat so needed a pet friendly hotel. 1st time at this one. Arrived about 2 hours early but that was okay with them. Seemed like I was one of two that made a reservation that day. Given the information to my room. The one thing I did not understand was that my room was in the farthest part of the hotel away from an entrance. There was an emergency exit so it was not a fire code violation. I was only one of maybe 5 or 6 people in the hotel. So far away from an entrance made no sense. But, the one thing about the hotel stay, being one of the few occupants, was that I had the heated indoor swimming pool to myself for 2 whole days. The room itself was good size. And clean and fresh. Stray dog biscuits were under the chair but nothing to complain about. Carpet was clean and not sticky like other places I have stayed in. The hotel itself was within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg and that was a plus. There is absolutely nothing more soothing than walking through CW at 9 o'clock at night with hardly anyone around. The staff at BW was very friendly. And as I planned on leaving at 430 am, I was pleasantly surprised to find the bill under my door so I did not need to head to the front desk. Will definitely stay there again. Just please put me closer to an entrance:)

"End of a long day"
Dustin M, 21 Février 2019

Had the opportunity to extsome local craft brewery's at The Bourbon Street Bar within Best Western. Extremely friendly employees that the take service and Industry preofession professionally... Would recommend this if you are coming to the area or just stopping by after work!

"Long Day... Great Beer"
Scott F, 21 Février 2019

Great place for food and beer after a long day. Relaxing atmosphere and lean and well kept ar and bathroom. Great customer service by all the bartenders, other patrons and kitchen staff. Definitely recommend

"Great Experience"
Global44923616054, 27 Janvier 2019

From check in to check out service was excellent. Front desk was prompt and courteous and room was very clean. Since I'm enrolled in the rewards program received a small goody bag for the room. I will visit again when in town.

"Will never stat here again!!"
Msunique1981, 25 Janvier 2019

There was hair in the shower and on the back of the bathroom door and there was a roach crawling in the room. Plus the room was not ready to check in when we got there and they told us to wait 15 to 20 minutes. I wrote down as list of complaints and gave it to the girl at checkout and she told me the manager would be in later on that day and she would tell her to call me but I still HAVEN'T received a phone call!!

"Stayed three days"
vacritter2000, 23 Janvier 2019

My husband and I stayed here for three days on an unexpected mini vacation. We decided 30 minutes before we left home to come to Williamsburg. The hotel was inexpensive and the staff was very friendly. It was located right beside the Colonial Williamsburg area however, it probably is a little to far to walk to the shops and restaurants that are located in the heart of the historical area. The room was clean however, it had no toilet paper holder and when we went to take a shower, the handle of the shower broke off. Luckily they had placed us in a handicap room so we had a shower with two shower heads. It was a little noisy as we stayed on the second floor which was right off the entrance and the way to the elevators. Also, this hotel houses long term business workers and maybe a few long term residents. It also doesn't offer free breakfast but it has a restaurant that you can order off the menu from. Over all it was a good stay for the price we paid however, it probably isn't where we would stay on a regular basis. Again, the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

"Nice stay"
christopherhalk, 21 Janvier 2019

I was actually surprised by this hotel. I stayed at a decent price and despite reviews, I found this place very clean, very comfortable with a very nice heater and a hot strong shower. The staff was very pleasant at all times and just a really relaxing time as I toured Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg. It's such a perfect location. Just a few minutes till Colonial Williamsburg, I think 20 minutes from Yorktown and just seems so perfectly located. I'll come back as I have so much more to see and do.

"Enjoyable"
dananickerson82, 02 Janvier 2019

We come to this particular hotel because their rooms are handicap/wheelchair accessible for my husband. They have some wonderful staff, and the hotel is located within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. Overall a good hotel. We plan to stay here in the future.

"Clean hotel close to historic Williamsburg"
Madnike, 01 Janvier 2019

I spent three nights here with my adult son for a wedding. I chose the hotel because of the price and location, and I was glad I did. Although there was a problem checking in once we arrived, it was resolved and did not mar our stay there. The room was very clean, and we were able to forego our car when we explored Williamsburg, as it was a 15-minute walk there. Overall, a good experience and I would stay there again.

"Needs to improve housekeeping"
ktrepp, 01 Janvier 2019

My husband and I stayed here for two nights this past weekend. The man at reception kindly allowed us to check-in 30 minutes early because our room was ready. When we got to our room it looked like your normal, slightly tired American hotel room. The two queen beds, however, had hairs on the sheets. There were enough to be bothered by it, not just a random one here or there. The sheets were wrinkled and looked like they had not been changed. My bed's fitted sheet was inside out as well. I also found a plastic cup on the floor behind the bed skirt. My husband called reception and asked if someone could come by the room and change the sheets and maybe give the room a quick vacuum. We left for dinner and when we returned hours later, the room had still not been cleaned. We called reception again and a different staff member apologized and moved us to another room. Upon arrival at the new room, the floor looked like it had not been vacuumed in a week! The following morning, a friendly housekeeper asked us if we'd be staying another night and if we needed anything. I said that we didn't need anything, but that it would nice if she could please go through the room with a vacuum. When we returned from our day out, the room had be properly cleaned. The whole hotel needed a vacuum in fact. The hallways, the main entrance, the elevator floor, etc. The garbage can by the complimentary coffee machine in the lobby was overflowing when we arrived at 3:30 P.M. as well. There was also the sound of the train at night that woke us up a few times. I appreciated the kindness of the staff, however I would not stay here again.

"Pet-Friendly Hotel Room - Choose Another Hotel"
Bmore2306, 31 Décembre 2018

Just stayed at this hotel. Poor quality and service. No fridge in room. Phone would not work. Mold in bathroom ceiling and dirty floor. Bathroom door broken - got stuck in bathroom. Complained about this & other issues. No response. Room was humid, hot, and had an odd odor. Had to keep air conditioner on 64 to try to be comfortable. No bed skirts. Room not ready, even though we arrived a few hours after check-in. Handed towels & toiletries in the middle of the hallway. Overall, one of our worst experiences staying in a hotel. We witnessed other guests helping themselves to linens from the employee-only area, due to what they said were "gross linens" in their rooms. Another family traveling with us and staying in another room had their toilet overflow and flood their room. Our room keys stopped working after one day. No "do not disturb sign." No cell service. Upon check-out, wasn't even asked about our stay...as if she wasn't aware that we have even complained. She just said, "You are prepaid, so you are all set." We had to ask for manager's contact information, so that we could make a formal complaint.

"Busch Gardens Visit"
dwag154, 29 Décembre 2018

The hotel was okay, the staff were very friendly and helpful but the maintenance of the property needed some work (doors splintered, grout not cleaned in corners, switches crooked) but wouldn't stop us from staying again. We bought a package that included the hotel and parking and entrance to Busch Gardens. The value of the package was very good.

"Consistently a Good Value"
Kim H, 27 Décembre 2018

Great value for simple stays within walking distance to the historic area. Clean--could use brighter lighting. Decor is relatively updated (not posh). No free breakfast but free lot parking. Pet friendly throughout.

"Christmas Family Visit"
Curiosity09493792734, 26 Décembre 2018

The hotel was decorated so lovely and the horses across the street a real bonus. We loved seeing snow in the field and blankets on the horses - very Christmasy! We used the pool and it was warm adn fun. We had coffe and cocoa several times - and the staff at the front desk was most efficient and professional.

"Was expecting more"
aneishar2016, 16 Décembre 2018

Spent the weekend in Williamsburg and choose this holiday as it is close to most places but I was disappointed with the room. Bathroom especially. Mirror had water Marks and tub definitely needs to be changed. Soil Marks which I dont think bleach can remove. I appreciated the non skid mat in the tub but it just makes it look worse than it is. Otherwise, staff was friendly.

"Disappointed"
katz4catz, 04 Décembre 2018

I have stayed at this hotel several times and mostly I've had a good experience. The staff is always helpful but in recent years the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. It was Grand illumination weekend and the price was outrageous compared to the rest of the year. With a minimum of two nights being 315.00 compared to the $59 a night the rest of the year. I won't be doing this again. We had three rooms with friends coming from Connecticut. The Christmas tree lights were out except for the bottom strand for our entire stay. There were cigarette butts outside the front door. The rug in the foyer wasn't vaccumed the entire time we were there. The tile floor in the foyer had many leaves on it the entire stay. The trash can was brimming over with trash for most of the day. As for the room...again there was no attention to detail. The tub dripped when turned off, bathroom door squeaked, the carpet felt like it had sand on it. Walking barefoot was a definite NO. The hallways had all sorts of bits of trash and dirt. I will say the sheets and towels were clean. On this stay there were people arguing in the parking lot in the late night hours.

"Colonial Williamsburg Best Western Historic District"
rinlanc, 01 Décembre 2018

This is a clean hotel with very comfortable rooms. It is an easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg (stop and pet the horses on the way) so you do not have to go to the visitor's center ond tak a bus. Friendly, helpful staff as well.

"Fantastic"
Sightseer40573368614, 21 Novembre 2018

This hotel was wonderful for our 6 night stay. So close to many wonderful sights, the hotel staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient. Definitely made our trip better knowing every evening, after long days of exploring history, we had a comfy, cozy place to come back too.

"Wonderful hotel close to Williamsburg's Historic Area. Great value!"
KenzyGirl, 12 Novembre 2018

Attractive, well-maintained, pet-friendly hotel in a great location (walking distance to the historic area). Very nice lobby with 24 hour coffee service and computers for guest use. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable front desk staff. My room was tastefully decorated and spacious, with an excellent mattress, very clean bed linens and good quality bathroom towels, ample lighting and electrical outlets, even a refrigerator. I have stayed at many Williamsburg hotels and this one is consistently the best for the price. Will definitely choose this Best Western the next time I travel to Williamsburg.

"Awesome Hotel"
Safari41098498200, 12 Novembre 2018

They say not to judge a book by its cover and they were right. There are other hotels in the area with a nicer exterior...but the inside blew this place out of the water. It was very classy on the inside, great service, fantastic rooms, comfortable beds. A great stay very close to Colonial Williamsburg...I recommend it to all.

"Never book this hotel"
wabby, 11 Novembre 2018

With all the hotels available in Williamsburg, Virginia, I had the bad luck to book this one for Teachers Convention/Veterans Day weekend. The only reason I chose this particular place was because of the indoor pool for my 9 year old grandson. I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. The pool has not been open since we arrived. No one has been helpful, and I am furious. We have had a wonderful time in Williamsburg, but this situation has spoiled it. And it wasnt a maintenance issue....they chose to paint numbers in the pool on a 4 day weekend. Never book here....never book Worst Western anywhere.

"Good customer service."
Explorer43363016555, 07 Novembre 2018

Good customer service, staff was friendly and helpful. Mr. Dunn was very help with ideas of places to visit in Historical Williamsburg, display great patients. He, smile and receive the complaints with grace.

"Kind service made the difference"
Louis S, 04 Novembre 2018

All the staff have been nice and accommodating. Always greeted with a smile. The proximity of the hotel to the historical district of Williamsburg is very convenient. The breakfast buffet was above average and a nice addition to the hotel accommodations. My father and I would stay here again.

"Perfect location to stroll through the historic district"
Josilynn F, 28 Octobre 2018

Super friendly staff and for the price the room,it was clean and comfortable. Also had an opportunity to speak with the cook who stopped at our table to make sure we had everything we needed, which we really appreciated. He was knowledgeable about the area and made it easier for us to maneuver around.

"Great Staff and Hotel"
msgmgatling, 26 Octobre 2018

I enjoyed the hotel and the friendly staff. Derek D as the cook was also enjoyable. They seem to really care about the customer and visitors in the area. Thank you for a lovely visit. I look forward to the next time we stay there.

"Great hotel in a prime location"
kbw5800, 24 Octobre 2018

Hotel met all expectations of comfort, convenience to the Historic District, service, and breakfast. The bed and room overall was comfortable. We were able to walk to the Historic Disctrict. Busch Gardens was a quick easy drive down one street. The front desk and housekeeping was friendly and efficient. Breakfast foods were diverse and great!

"Comfortable room, helpful staff"
NovaSouth, 21 Octobre 2018

Room comfortable, tastefully appointed, clean, quiet. Good location for access to historic area, restaurants and other amenities. Big plus was very friendly, helpful staff member. One evening our car had a low battery and would not start. I asked at the front desk if the hotel had a set of jumper cables. The young man at the desk said they did, got them, got into his car and pulled up beside our car. Within minutes we were on our way. His kindness was MUCH appreciated. On the downside, this Best Western, unlike another here, does not offer a breakfast buffet. A breakfast buffet is available at the co-located bar/restaurant for about $10. Also on the downside, free coffee from the dispenser in the lobby is seriously weak.

"Shes the best bartender ever!"
Josh C, 19 Octobre 2018

Came in here for work and jolene's hospitality was absolutely amazing she treated me to whatever i wanted helped me out with all my questions, came out here from pittsburgh and she gave me the whole run down of williamsburg, be proud to have her as an employee!

"Was okay"
Virginia M, 16 Octobre 2018

Hotel was okay. Could use some major updates to rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. No power after hurricane Michael had come thru. Pool looked okay. Did not have chance to go in. Is within walking distance to Williamsburg if u are used to walking a lot. We drive over.

"Bourbon street"
Robb W, 11 Octobre 2018

Stayed at the hotel for work. Stopped in bourbon street for dinner and drinks. The burger was great and jolene is anot awesome bartender. Will definitely stop back in next tune I'm in town. Definitely a good time.

"Enjoyed our evening"
adriennerichelle, 10 Octobre 2018

I went in one evening with my boyfriend for some bar snacks a few drinks. Our bartenter Jolene was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. We ended up staying in a room. Beds were comfy and room was clean.

"Value & Convienence"
Rockettwins, 08 Octobre 2018

This property, while older, is well maintained and appears to still have the vibrancy of newer counterparts ostensibly due to its location, however, I would site the staff and atmosphere for the traveler that frequents the area. Our stay was comfortable and the room was clean. The building's facilities were consistent with the age yet maintained. the hardware on the doors and and the bathroom where used but not obsolete. Our trip was only an over night stay to see our daughter play a field hockey game at William & Mary University. We arrived early and were very pleased to have an opportunity to stroll around the historic area which was only a few blocks from our hotel. My wife and I are first year empty nesters and are having a most enjoyable time following our twins around the east coast attending their sporting events.

"Amazing staff"
Daya M, 05 Octobre 2018

The southern hospitality is oozing out of this place. Every employee that passed me in the hallway greeted me a how are you today ma'am definitely a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the city. Kristina the manager took care of us with whatever request we had, definitely the type of manager that every hotel should strive to have.

"Great Hotel"
Brenda6263, 02 Septembre 2018

This is one of the nicest Best Western motels we have stayed in. Neal, the manager, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Children loved the huge indoor pool. Breakfast was great, and the cook came out to chat with us each morning. Walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, and only a short drive to some very good restaurants. If we go back to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

"Needing renovations"
Mark P, 26 Août 2018

The hotel was not very clean, our room was in need of repair. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy and vibrated loudly. Paint was chipping, microwave missing, very old carpeting and tv volume not working. Employee walked into our room with master key unannounced and didn't knock (This scared my wife). Hallways were in need of vacuuming, indoor pool not heated.

"BW Williamsburg"
398donnab, 25 Août 2018

Very convenient location to Williamsburg. Comfortable room. LONG hallways, elevators in the back of the property. Very helpful staff. Be aware that the restaurant is NOT under the Best Western management.

"Perfectly Fair Rate and Room"
Judith W, 19 Août 2018

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. We knew going in we were booking a more budget friendly hotel and we were very pleased with it. It's not a luxury hotel, but we didn't need much. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise since kids 12 and under eat free with an adult purchase of the $9.99 buffet.

"Convenient to Busch Gardens"
CathyB-So-Md, 18 Août 2018

We stayed for a night as we visited Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. The hotel is two to three miles from both parks. We were able to check in early. The room was nice with typical hotel conveniences of tv, WiFi and fridge. The bathroom was small and did not have a fan. Unfortunately outside of our room was a little noisy as we were located near an exit and a smoking area. The hotel seemed popular as the parking lot was full in the morning. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which serves breakfast but it is not complimentary.

"I'll pass next time"
Sheyi L, 14 Août 2018

Where to start: FIRST: When checked-in, the front desk clerk did not inform us on the location of the elevators, (which was ALL the WAY in the BACK of the building) until we already loaded our luggage onto their broken trolley. If she would have told us prior, we would have parked in the back on the building instead of wheeling a broken trolley all the way to the back on the hotel to use the elevator, then for us to wheeling it back to the front again to reach out room. SECOND: the housekeeping women repeatedly knocked on our door asking if we are left yet so we can CLEAN? when we told her that we would let her know. It was very annoying and frustrating to have to constantly get up when we are trying to sleep to let her know that. THIRD, midway into our stay we noticed that our sheets were not being changed. We found stains on sheets when we came back into our room. It was then when we realize she was just tucking in the bed and not changing the sheets.

"Room are not clean"
Vivian T, 30 Juillet 2018

Terrible room service . The key to the room doesn't work even after the staff used their matter key . We had to switch room .After getting into our new room there was only conditioner and no shampoo . After my shower I found hair around the sink that were not mine .I'm positive that the hair are not mine because I don't have red hair . Then I continue to fine more hair on the bed that doesn't belong to me . I looked closer at the bed and realize the fitted sheet was put on backward . I will never come back .

"not the best choice"
stevenlD5152MF, 29 Juillet 2018

look for a better motel to stay at it is not newly remolded or does it have up dated rooms i guess they forgot to tell you that the hot tub is now covered with a table an chair setting on it but the staff is really nice to bad the hotel is as old as dirt

"The only real plus is its location."
Laura O, 28 Juillet 2018

Stayed 7/26/18 - 7/28/18. My room was furthest from the exits, had no phone signal, was sloppily painted and the ceiling looked like it needed to be patched in places. Something on the pillows (Febreeze? Bleach?) made my sinuses clog up and allergy meds did not help. The bathtub needed to be scrubbed down with bleach as the grout was black in places. The pool house had clumps of something that looked like hair on the floor around the edge of the pool, and when my niece swam in it she thought it looked 'dirty' because the water was not clear as you would expect. The 'bar and grille' was just a bar, they didn't serve anything more than a couple overpriced sandwiches, which was disappointing as I didn't want to go out to find food after a long day of driving. Overall it was a place to sleep and it served its purpose, but it wasn't a hotel I'd want to stay in again.

"Dont Waste Your Money - No Ice No Elevator"
_chris69pierce, 27 Juillet 2018

We stayed at this hotel in Historical Williamsburg 7/26 approx 10:30 pm to 7/27 11:00 am, and was disgusted. The staff was not helpful, the floors and bathroom were not clean. The papers on the desk had been wiped around with smears of cleaner, in a very sad attempt to dust, leaving prior guests cup rings still. Ice machine and elevator did not work. Did allow pets and though Booking.com didn't indicate there was an additional $20 fee, I understand why there was for some people (not my trained 15 year old Chihuahua, but others), as one untrained dog guest did leave poop in hallway and it was there when I took my dog out and came back in. And there was Housekeeping staff in the hall chatting. No one attempted to clean. Also, because we had a pet (I assume) we were put in the ground floor level, which smelled of mold and piss. Additionally, I didnt like the blank stare from the desk clerk when I was telling her about Housekeeping knocking on the door at 10:20 am to "see if we were still there", so she could clean, when there was CLEARLY a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Very Rude...and disrespectful. Only good part of our stay was the breakfast ladies. They were nice and very interactive with the guests. Overall, we are extremely disappointed we wasted the money for a 12 hour stay in such a despicable place.

"Perfectly Acceptable"
Steve R, 27 Juillet 2018

This was a two night stay while visiting historic Wiliamsburg. First of all the hotel is very convenient for the historic district, being maybe ten minutes walk away. Don't expect five star accommodation, but this is perfectly acceptable. The room and bathroom were clean, the beds comfortable and there was tea and coffee making facilities, which are not always provided in the USA. Breakfast can be purchased for a reasonable fee and this wasn't bad. The staff everywhere are friendly and helpful. For those who want to swim, like me, the pool is very good, if somewhat cold. All in all a pleasant stay during a road trip in the USA.

"location and price"
Vaughan_Fam, 20 Juillet 2018

The hotel has been recently renovated (this was a multi year process, i have stayed here several time over the last several years). Rooms are very comfortable. You will find it hard to beat the price for the location and quality of room. It is within walking distance to Historic Williamsburg and only a quick car ride to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. The hotel has been recently renovated (this was a multi year process, i have stayed here several time over the last several years). The attached restaurant is decent not 5 star but does have a full bar and decent menu with a breakfast buffet.

"Don't ...just don't."
michaelcalvert, 15 Juillet 2018

Other than location, I can't give you a reason to stay here. The elevator was out. They had workers starting at 7am and making noise. That is just one of the issues. The staff's signature response was “sorry about that”

"Worrisome experience."
sewal0ng, 14 Juillet 2018

My granddaughter and I both got bed bug bits on our bodies. Had to debug everything when we got home. Roaches in room, halls. Carpet in hotel was usually dirty and unswept. Mold on tile and walls in bathroom. Just felt unclean and uncared for. Restaurant staff was great.

"Good stay"
Katie S, 14 Juillet 2018

Of the under $100 a night hotels Best Wetern was the best. Easy check in, clean and friendly staff. Just wish every room had a microwave. Rooms very clean and wifi. Pretty quiet, but the elevator is under renovation.

"Kinda dirty"
Tammy W, 01 Juillet 2018

We stayed here June 28 & June 29. This is the first Best Western I have stayed at where breakfast costs money!! $10 for a buffet. We didn't go so I can't review it. We hit McDonalds on the way to Busch Gardens! The carpet on the stairs in the lobby and hallways was very dirty. There was a pile of hair at the side of the pool (see pic). Rooms are dated, there's still popcorn ceilings. We stayed in room 310. The bathroom tub didn't drain correctly so water filled up in the tub while you showered. The tile seems to be growing mold or mildew(see pic). The WiFi didn't work the first night and the morning we we checking out, the cable stopped working! Sheets were clean and the refrigerator worked! I would recommend to look else where for a place to stay!

"Not a Good Stay"
Marco201572, 26 Juin 2018

The rooms are clean but Wi-Fi service was spotty and sometimes our own phone service did no go through (we were told it had to do with our room location), no breakfast served (but they offered a $10 voucher to feed everyone in the room), the elevators were out of service, not much communication regarding the cause for the fire alarm that went off twice the same night, the rooms are a bit outdated ( but expected for BW), the overall condition of the hotel needed some TLC. The service was average, but they have a decent size swimming pool.

"OK place to stay"
VaTraveler5, 23 Juin 2018

We stayed for one night while attending a music festival. The only elevator was out of order so we had to take the stairs to our room on the fourth floor. It was a bit of of a walk down hallways just to get to the stairwell. The rugs in the hallways looked a bit scruffy which made me wonder about the condition of the room. Howevr, the room was neat and clean and there was plentiful hot water in the shower, and the a/c worked great.

"Pet friendly hotel"
heatherbgale, 21 Juin 2018

This was our second stay at this hotel and it is perfect as a home base for exploring Williamsburg. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a must for us. The GM greeted us personally and the staff was very friendly. The elevator is out of service but it did not affect us as pet friendly rooms are on the first floor.

"Awful service"
Chzhdmt, 19 Juin 2018

Had to wait 21/2 hours for room was told sheets hadn't arrived elevator is broken dining room ceiling started pouring rain in from celiling will not stay here again restaurant doesn't open till 5 but is not open on Sunday and even though room service is advertised they don't have it

cg48180, 10 Juin 2018

Well we wanted to go swimming and we did go in the pool but the pool felt like ice. It was not heated like they said. . It was nice having breakfast but the lady working there did not have silver wear in the buffet or the orange juice out so we were not happy about that. We had to wait for our silver wear We stayed here to go to Busch Gardens which is not far away. Some days the breakfast was cold

"Great Stop on the way to OBX"
Emily W, 01 Juin 2018

We decided last minute to start our beach vacation a day early. Figured Williamsburg was a great stopping point. Found this hotel online. Booked a queen room with two queen beds. Easy check in, quick & efficient. Friendly staff, very helpful with any questions you may have. Kids went straight to the ginormous indoor pool. Lots of seating around the pool & pool towels available. Comfy beds, only downside is the bathroom is pretty tiny. Clean rooms. Nice stopping point. Would love to come back & take the kids to Colonial Williamsburg. Sorry the picture of the bed is slightly messy, we'd already curled up in it ??

"Great Stay in Williamsburg"
799wanda, 29 Mai 2018

This hotel is located very conveniently to the Colonial Williamsburg area and Busch Gardens. It was the perfect place for us to base our Williamsburg Vacation. The staff, especially Judya and Neal are delightful.

"Wedding Room Block Nightmare"
Kaitlyn M, 28 Mai 2018

This might have been the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. My fiancé and I booked this hotel for a friend's wedding. It was a room block option and at a good price for the holiday weekend. When I booked the hotel I called to confirm that we could check in early because we were taking the red eye from San Francisco and the wedding was at 2pm. I was told at time of booking that it would not be a problem and even called last week prior to our travel to make sure that it wouldn't be an issue for us to change and shower. We arrived at 10am and were abprubtly told that it wasn't going to happen and that we would have to wait until the room was clean. I explained our situation to multiple staff with no help or concern from any one. We sat in the lobby in front of the check in desk for THREE AND A HALF hours waiting for our room. Not only did we miss our friend's wedding ceremony I saw a number of other guests receive their hotel keys. When I asked if we could move rooms to a one that was cleaned and ready, the woman at the front told me we had to wait for the room that was assigned to us. To make matters worst, when our room was ready, shower towels were not available so we were given pool towels as supplement with promises to replace them. This didn't happen. To make matters worst the shower wouldn't drain and there was black mold on to ceiling. When we did return from what portion of the wedding we did make, we asked for a late check out (noon instead of eleven) due to our flight plans. Not only was I cut off mid sentence by the night clerk that this wasn't an option, as I started to walk away from the desk he turned to who I can only assume was his manager and asked if "he did good" telling me no and denying my request. I have never in my life have been treated so rudely and dealt with such lack of customer service from start to finish. Our family will be crossing Best Western off of our list of hotel options for future travel plans.

"Not Happy!"
rdg2002, 28 Mai 2018

I stayed at this location over the Memorial Day weekend and overall appearance is ok but when I walked in the room I was not impressed. The door to the bathroom is weirdly location where you cannot shut the door if you are in front of the toilet. I also found a roach on the carpet. I called reception and they said they would handle that as well as the drain in the bath tub. They did not! The password given had the incorrect password in it. The ac in the lobby wasn't on or was on low when it was 91 outside. I was displeased with my stay to say the least.

"Brilliantly located to visit Williamsburg"
Ann L, 28 Mai 2018

Wonderfully comfortable stay. This hotel is so close to the historic area of Williamsburg that we walked there. The hotel is well furnished and comfortable. It has a fantastic pool and serves a wonderful buffet breakfast. Highly recommended.

"Great Location"
burne4332016, 27 Mai 2018

We just returned from our Memorial Day weekend trip and overall it was fine. One issue was house keeping came around at 9AM each morning knocking on the door when we were trying to sleep in just a little. The hot water did go out and they had it back by the next day which I know things happen. The location is great as it's walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg and about a 5 min drive to Busch Gardens and about 15 min to Jamestown Settlement so the location is hard to beat. We would stay again on our next trip.

"Historic Traingle Stay May 2018"
glenw947, 16 Mai 2018

This is a really nice hotel and well located for access to not only Colonial Williamsburg but Jamestown and Yorktown. My room was clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. There were several bus tours of school children that arrived during my stay. Fortunately the staff seemed well versed in handling these challenges. I timed my breakfast after their 8:00 departures and found the restaurant to be fully recovered from the onslaught and the buffet fresh.

"Middle of the Week Get Away"
JWallace52, 11 Mai 2018

The room we had was clean. This is an older hotel. The bathroom is very small. If you have issues with small spaces like me you probably won't close the door to the bathroom. Called the front desk several times when the code we were given for WiFi didn't work and got NO answer. I walked down to the front desk and NO one was there. Called out...Hello, no answer. Waited 10 minutes and NO one showed up. Asked a guest if they knew the code for the WiFi. The gym is small but adequate. There's a TV in there but NO remote :(. For an additional fee of $10.00 per person you can enjoy an all you can eat buffet in the morning. Our server Ms. V. was very friendly and attentive both days we ate there. She warned us that there was a bus load of children coming in so we may want to get to the buffet early. It's very close to Colonial Village and the Outlets. I'm not sure if I would stay there again, but not a bad place. When we checked out I was going over our bill I noticed that there was a charge for Thursday the day we checked in (check in is 4:00 pm) we were charge $20 for the buffet for day we checked in. When I asked the manager why would we be charged for a buffet on that day I was informed that that was normal procedure (side eye). We informed her we would NOT be paying for something we did not receive. We requested a new bill and remove that amount which she did. NOTE ~ Pay attention to your bill before leaving the hotel, even though you can call back and have them adjust your bill if needed.

"School Group"
hreid2018, 11 Mai 2018

Staff was excellent. Mrs. Debra in Group sales was wonderful. Vanessa and her eam was outstanding in getting our breakfast of 180 plus 5th graders and parents ready. The salad and pizza party was very good.

"Clean, affordable, delightful"
Matthew B, 09 Mai 2018

The rooms were clean, staff helpful, and facilities fantastic. Located off the eastern edge of the Williamsburg Historic District, this hotel will be mu first choice on future visits. The breakfast was not complimentary, but with the price, it was reasonable with decent food.

"Great visit to Colonial Williamsburg"
spiritdancertlc, 06 Mai 2018

Enjoyed my stay. Nice and quiet. Will stay here again in the future. Very close to Colonial village. Convenient for visiting the colonial village. Plenty of parking. Restaurant on site. Pleasant, helpful staff.

"Adequate but......."
Afoodie65, 04 Mai 2018

Great location: a mile or so from Colonial Williamsburg. Hotel is old and needs some updating; rooms are clean and staff friendly. We spent a week here with a Road Scholar group and a number of meals were at the hotel: 6 breakfasts; 2 lunches and 3 dinners. Food was good but Vanessa, the restaurant manager, was outstanding andbmade everyone feel at home.

"perfect location"
thomas c, 21 Avril 2018

Very nice hotel Directly between Busch and a short walk into the Colonial Town. Restaurant on premises, Indoor pool and My favorite ,,,,Pet Friendly. Nice and very clean rooms with a Friendly staff. worth it.

"Odd pool addition. Unprofessional staff. Connected to an odd restaurant/bar for breakfast options."
Melissa M, 16 Avril 2018

Unprofessional. Purchased a rate with breakfast but the buffet was not good. Sausage Patty's were like rocks and the donuts were not fresh. Eggs were watery and old. Pool is older and in an odd addition, connected to the main building. No hot tub.

"housekeeping issue"
dhampt0n, 16 Avril 2018

Poor housekeeping bathrooms not clean nor was the pool area Probably would not stay here again food area tables was dirty and the carpet had a strong odor to it, pillow case had stains on them and fitted sheet was stained also

"No complaints!"
judemarie2015, 16 Avril 2018

We arrived a couple of hours early and the manager graciously arranged for us to access a cleaned room. The room was large enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 semi-rambunctious boys. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable and contained all of the usual amenities. I will say of the four of us, 3 of the 4 of us had difficulty accessing phone internet from our room, but that was likely the location of our specific room. The indoor pool was greatly appreciated, though very busy. Management maintained a steady stream of fresh towels for the pool. In the time we were there we interacted with 5-6 different staff members, from managers to custodial. All were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The hot breakfast bar was plentiful. This hotel was easy to find. Was this hotel luxurious? No, but it was excellent value for the money.

""hum ha" ... it's okay"
Anthony C, 03 Avril 2018

When one writes a review, I feel it is important to base that review on what one gets for what one paid and where. This is not a negative review, although, it may be perceived as such. Let get this out of the way. This is not a 5 Star hotel and it is not marketed as such. Any of the issues I may have are certainly correctable. The hotel was worth the price paid so that makes it a good value for anyone interested. ACCOMMODATIONS Our room was located on the first floor, which is NOT where the lobby is located apparently, but I suppose "stowage" or "sub-level" aren't marketable terms either. Upon check-in near midnight, we were sent around to the side of the building which also happens to be at the back. Given the grand staircase in the foyer, one might make the mistake in feeling that first floor rooms aren't quite so ordinary. Arriving near midnight, the sign on the motion sensitive door was obvious. It was supposed to be secured from 11pm until 7am with key card access. Access remained active for the duration. Cellular service was nearly nonexistent in room 164. My son's mom thought his phone was dead when she couldn't reach him. I had to walk to other end of the corridor and stand outside to make a phone call. Utilizing the WiFi was a necessity. Wireless internet speed was more than adequate. The view was nothing to write home about. Open the curtain and take in the view of brick and stair. The bed and pillows were my kind of comfortable. Beds are a personal thing, so let's just say, I liked them. There is no microwave, so consider that with leftovers. The television actually has a full set of cable channels. This is a rarity! I'm tired of summary channels over a satellite signal. The hotel feels aged. Review photographs for reference. I left the drywall screw my foot found under the desk next to the television (see picture). DOGS...ever so present. Next door or down the halls. You'll know they're there. Guess that's what they mean by pet friendly. BAR & GRILL Skipped it. The reviews didn't inspire hope, so my son and I ate off property. POOL The pool is housed in a greenhouse in the courtyard. The path from the first floor to the lobby goes ONE way around the pool house. Lesson learned. "No one under the age of 16 is permitted in the pool area without parent or guardian" and "Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult." The benefit of no oversight is a policy easily ignored...as was the case. PARKING Watch where you park along the western-most side of the building; where the first floor entrance is at. There are tall coniferous trees with decent size pine cones. If you love your car as much as I love mine, then you'll park elsewhere.

"You should let people know the restaurant isn't always open."
ardeasnest, 28 Mars 2018

Rooms were nice and clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom needs updated around the toilet where the floor is rough, but it was clean. The bathroom is really small. When we checked in the manager made a comment about the 400 kids that were on there way which freaked us out. But he did put us on the top floor at the end of the hall and other than the fact that the pool was overrun, we would not have known the kids were there. We switched to this hotel from another because it had a restaurant on site. However, it is closed on Mondays. That should really be disclosed. The hotel switched from had breakfast which I would have thought was pretty standard at Best Western and was in an area of restaurants. Instead we had to hunt for one. I would not choose to stay here again. It was close to Williamsburg but not significantly closer than the other Best Western we originally booked.

"Overall--OK--But Lots to Things to Nitpick"
WVJill, 18 Mars 2018

I booked this hotel and took advantage of the lower rate offered for a non-cancellable reservation to attend a dog-sports event that I was sure my husband and I would go with our two Schnauzers unless weather dictated otherwise.. I needed a pet-friendly hotel that offered a "pet-friendly," accessible room so made sure to specifically book such a room when I made the reservation--weeks in advance of the scheduled event. We got there to discover that the hotel had booked us into a room on the second-floor, definitely *not* pet-friendly for hauling crates and the other accouterments needed to care for the dogs. The front desk changed the room to one on ground level, but it was *very* small and cramped. This after waiting for the front desk to get things straightened out after a long drive where we arrived after 10 PM and after I had called the hotel to tell them of our expected late arrival and to ensure that they would hold a pet-friendly room. We were next to a courtyard in the middle of which was an enclosed swimming pool with very bright outdoor and indoor lighting. The existing curtains on the window did nothing to shut out the light shining into the room when it came time to turn in for the night. The walls were paper-thin; I could hear people in the adjacent rooms--so could our dogs, who barked in response, though they're usually good at keeping quiet. The room was too warm, so I tried unsuccessfully to adjust the thermostat; eventually the heat was turned off, we relying on the bed linens to keep warm. They were thin and didn't do a great job of retaining body heat. We wanted to leave a wake-up call for early morning, but found the phone had no connection. Went to get ice from the machine--it's not working. There were just lots of things to nitpick that when put together made for an overall aggravating experience.

"Awesome"
Courtney B, 17 Mars 2018

Came for 2 nights. Hotel was clean and quiet! Housekeeping was amazing and went above and beyond expectations and Charles at the front desk was EXCELLENT! He went above and beyond with every customer I saw him interact with including myself! Will definitely be staying here from now on! Everyone here is friendly and definitely enjoys their jobs! It was cold out and we got to use the indoor heated pool which was as well clean!

"Excellent renovation and great location "
denif2018728, 17 Mars 2018

We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My family were ill and ended up missing most of Williamsburg, opting to stay in bed most of the duration. Beds were clean, very comfortable, bathrooms were small but clean and well renovated. We are used to suites so we took up two adjoining rooms. Both were clean and quiet- even next to the elevator. The staff and management were thoughtful, kind, and accommodating to our situation- giving us excellent service for a very reasonable price. They even gave my 2 yr old daughter a plush animal and tiny bottles of water that she loves. Breakfast was made to order with fresh eggs, sausage or bacon, skillet potatoes with cheese, onions, and peppers... all delicious. Small lobby, though huge pool house. Very nice exterior garden - even in winter. We are diamond members and travel a lot. We recommend this hotel. ***fyi - we downloaded a white noise app which is great in busy hotels to drown out ambient noise.

"OneNightStay"
waddell357, 13 Mars 2018

Very good room rate for one night. The room was good value for a one stay/get away for my wife's birthday. The location was good. Plenty of eating places were close by since the restaurant was closed.

"Asians not welcome!"
krish_sriram, 03 Mars 2018

Stayed here as part of a stay-and-play soccer tournament. Check in experience was normal and rooms are the average you would expect for this budget hotel, especially if you are forced to stay in tournament assigned hotels. What was annoying though was the mentality and attitude of a front desk staff member. After two Asian families checked in as part of the tournament, I overheard the lady staff member tell her colleague "I hope they (the tournament hotel organizers) have not booked all Asians in our hotel". Definitely not a diversity inclusive hotel; if they cannot embrace diversity, they should not have chosen to be in hospitality business. We will definitely be in this area for future tournaments, but as far as I am concerned its "good riddance" to this specific hotel. They are many better options in this area.

"Visit to Colonial Williamsburg"
cnsweel, 07 Février 2018

Overall hotel was in good condition. Restaurant was very limited. Did not eat there as no selection, only hot dog hamburger , or chicken nuggets. Breakfast also very limited. Was around Christmas and lots if other great options nearby. Staff was great. Had one issue heat did not work right. They attempted a fix right away. It worked room stayed relatively warm with it 15F out. Just switched it on and off once at night. Chose not to move rooms. Some rowdy guests smoking pot in hall, banging on doors. Stopped after complaints. Two nights in a row. Staff was very quick to stop it. They were quick to address any issues. Close, very short, couple blocks to colonial Williams burg. walking distance. The location is as good as high end very expensive in colonial Williamsburg at a fraction of the cost.

"Last minute booking"
Trishdolce, 09 Janvier 2018

This was just a short visit for us. We needed a place to stay since our condo reservation had gotten mixed up. We reserved our room a week prior to our stay. We had a small issue upon check-in because I used a booking site. Only one of their computers is set up to see reservation made through booking sites. Weird. I didn't particularly like that my husband had to stand in line twice because of this problem that wasn't our fault. It's a pretty long walk to the elevator. Not sure why it's set up the way it is, but it's not very efficient. Our room was clean. I always strip the beds to check for bugs and found none. It was pretty cold when we first walked in. We had to turn on the heat immediately. The bathroom was on the small side and the toilet was oddly low to the floor. We are Best Western reward members. It was nice that we were given complimentary bags when we checked in that had snacks in them. Overall, this wasn't the "best" Best Western we've ever been to. One highlight was that the woman that helped with breakfast was very friendly. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name.(We also weren't given our breakfast voucher when we checked in. I had to go to the front desk to fix this so that we didn't pay for breakfast twice.)

"Disappointing"
mary t, 03 Janvier 2018

The best thing about this hotel was its location. Unfortunately, we found that out after driving for 15 minutes back to the Williamsburg's Visitor Center. We asked at check-in how far was Colonial Williamsburg to walk and the girl behind the desk says at least 40 minutes, but there was a map on the other counter. She certainly was not helpful. We got to our room and was looking forward to a soak in the hot tub and a swim, so we quickly changed clothes. Once we got to the pool we did not see the hot tub, so my husband went to the desk to ask. He was told it disappeared 2 years ago. When he said it was on the website the clerk replied that we should complain to the booking site. He told them that we booked through the Best Western site and that the card in the room also gave instructions to parents about the hot tub! He got a "oh, we will have to look into that". This was a second person at the desk, who was not very helpful or friendly. We were very disappointed, since our plan was to relax and enjoy a quiet night! Best Western needs to check on customer service and follow through with what they offer.

"Nice room for the money."
laurawW2597IP, 02 Janvier 2018

Our stay was ok. We stayed the night on New Years Eve and it was a little noisy but that was to be expected. What wasn't expected was housekeeping knocking on doors at around 9 am for cleaning. Many people weren't even up yet. I wasn't and they woke me up.. That was unpleasant.. The room was pretty clean although it didn't look like it had been vacuumed.

"Quick get away"
claudetteg2018, 01 Janvier 2018

Great nice little stay , hotel was clean staff friendly , great location rooms are nice and clean , only thing I was not happy with was breakfast other than that it was a good quick get away for me and my husband to celebrate our 21 anniversary

"close to Colonial Williamsburg"
lisar2018, 31 Décembre 2017

This was a great value for a family get-away for the holidays. It was close to the sites and restaurants we wanted to see and to eat at. In Summer you could even walk to Colonial Williamsburg! I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone bringing the family to the area!

"Convenient to city center, reasonable"
arielg2018, 31 Décembre 2017

I stayed here on a quick trip to Williamsburg and found the hotel through hotels.com for a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and hospitable. The room was fairly comfortable (the bed and pillows could have been better), and the stay was a nice one. There's a pool and small fitness center as well. The hotel is also next door to a restaurant that you can access through the hotel, so it was convenient for me to find a place to eat upon checking in (that restaurant only offers about 4 choices, though, and largely fast food items). The hotel is conveniently located to colonial Williamsburg/the visitor's center (about 10 minutes) and a gas station (2-3 minutes) should you need it. It's also easily accessible from the highway. Altogether, a good choice for a quick (3 days, 2 nights) trip on your own.

"worth the visit"
Donna1001, 30 Décembre 2017

This is a large hotel, well staffed and we enjoyed our stay. THe indoor pool was warm and clean. Our room was quiet, and comfy. The staff answered our questions and were helpful. Charles in charge was helpful and Chris knew the area well. We used reward points so I think we got the smallest room, but it was fine. I love a place where u can walk to places of interest.. this is not that, but still close enough.

"Great value"
P7177WGnancyw, 23 Décembre 2017

Located close by to Busch Gardens and Wiliamsburg which was perfect for us. Great hotel and great price especially for the holiday season! Very friendly and helpful front desk and housekeeping staff. We were in town for the weekend and got one of the last rooms available. We were very lucky and happy with our choice.

"Trip To Williamsburg"
127russellj, 21 Décembre 2017

The location is perfect; you can almost walk to historic Williamsburg. The bed was very comfortable. Everything looked clean to me, but then, I'm not a clean freak. Check-in, check-out fast and the staff friendly, if a little casual. The only downside is the bathroom - cramped and hard to use. The faucet barely stuck out beyond the edge of the sink. For the price and location, not a bad deal at all.

"Comfortable & clean, excellent value for location"
kathleenmF7409ER, 18 Décembre 2017

The hotel was a short walk to Colonial Williamsburg and was a great price compared to nearby hotels. The staff was professional and the room was clean & comfortable. The desk attendant answered our questions in a knowledgeable and friendly fashion.

"Colonial Williamsburg"
W4827HMtinal, 15 Décembre 2017

We brought friends to CW with us and stayed at the Best Western. Great location within walking distance of the historical section. We will stay here again on our next visit due to the convenience and wonderful service given.

"Best Hotel in Williamsburg!"
Rachel M, 14 Décembre 2017

I stayed here while in town for business and was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I usually stay with Hilton properties when I travel, but had heard good things about this hotel so thought I'd give it a try. The lobby was beautiful, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and just gorgeous! You can tell they have put a lot into updating everything in the rooms. Internet was fast and reIt was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in. It was very convenient to the Colonial Williamsburg area. Great restaurant and bar located in the hotel, made it very easy to grab dinner and a drink after a long day. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

"Bring your overcoat"
johnpU3806UY, 13 Décembre 2017

Restaurant COLD. Was 59 degrees in restaurant. Was told neither AC nor heat had worked for months. My brother who is dependent on using a mobility scooter had made a reservation in August (4 months before arrival) for an ADA room but on arrival was told none was available. Overall has improved under BW.

"Best pet-friendly hotel"
Helen M, 12 Décembre 2017

We just spent three nights at this hotel. It's an easy five-minute walk to the historic District, which we loved. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We have traveled with our dog for over two years and this was, by far, the nicest pet-friendly hotel we've used. One of the housekeepers, Alice, went out of her way to get to know our dog and us. I was very pleased with the price and what we got for it. We hope to return soon!

"Great location, Pet friendly"
pkwright, 11 Décembre 2017

Love that you can walk to the colonial area from the hotel. Good value, and we do appreciate our dog being welcomed, though $20 extra per night for one pet seemed high since all the pet rooms were in the ground level rooms wth older fixtures. Staff very friendly.

"Ok room for price"
177bosslady, 10 Décembre 2017

Food was sorry and pool water was like warm could've been better. They could've had the pool room heated since the walk was very cold. The room smelled like bleach feet and it took a while for the heat to kick in. But my daughter's enjoyed their self for the birthday weekend.

"Great value"
katz4catz, 05 Décembre 2017

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It's an older motel but the rooms are clean and the beds are clean and comfortable. You can see some wear and tear on the trim/doorways but that is to be expected with a place as old as this one. Close to the historic district and lots of shopping and restaurants. Overall a pleasant experience.

"Loved the location and quality of this hotel"
michaelzC1518MO, 05 Décembre 2017

This hotel is clean and comfortable and is in walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. We were there for the Grand Illumination. Great weekend. This hotel is conviently located in walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. Its clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The Staff were very friendly.

"Great Stay close to Historic District & Busch Gardens"
579samanthaf, 04 Décembre 2017

The hotel location was great, it was a quick drive to Busch Gardens and walking distance from the Historic District. The staff was friendly and offered some great recommendations for restaurants. The rooms were clean and fairly modern, this is a budget hotel so I would say that it exceeded my expectations.I would definitely recommend to a friend and would stay there again!

"great value in this area- GPS directions inconsistent"
Stace B, 03 Décembre 2017

The staff here were lovely and helpful and the rooms were nice and clean. Theres a nice pool which was lovely in July. It has a breakfast bar that's pretty decent actually- and if you have it included- id certianly take advantage of it. BW its close by several good eateries and not far from a shopping center or two. It's up the street a couple miles from colonial williamsburg- not close enough to reasonably walk (far as im concerned) but its inexpensive for a cab and not many miles for your rental car. The GPS directions into the place are not good (or werent when we were there). The hotel is fairly far set back from the main road, and there's a tiny sign at the main road that you'll miss. The GPS directions also told us that it was on the opposite side of the main road (like In the Cracker Barrel), instead of the side it's on (more across the main street from it).

"Best Time!"
Kristina T, 01 Décembre 2017

Absolutely loved our stay at this property. The Staff from every department was fantastic! Neal the General Manager and Charles the Assistant General Manager we're very efficient at helping every guest. Jenny in the bar made amazing drinks for us. And breakfast with Vanessa was a treat all the food in the restaurant was delicious!

"Great pet friendly"
reneel191, 27 Novembre 2017

We love staying here with our dog. The first floor is pet friendly. Our dog loves meeting the other dogs. We did not give up quality to bring our dog. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with a dog.

"Beautiful hotel surrounded by nice attractions"
oneandonly176, 26 Novembre 2017

Hotel situated near colonial Williamsburg and Busch gardens. Staff was very nice, hotel is well kept and staff was very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is a nice restaurant. The staff gave us a few local options for food and things to do.

"Stayed for a soccer tournament "
J95petrie, 24 Novembre 2017

We went to Williamsburg for a soccer tournament and our team had to stay at this hotel. It was a little dated and the rooms were ok. The breakfast in the lobby wasn't the greatest and front desk staff wasn't very friendly. The lady that took care of our room was great and super friendly but I definitely wouldn't choose to stay here next visit

"Best Western Is The Right Hotel For Me"
fronzag, 14 Novembre 2017

Close to the historic district. Comfortable older hotel that has been remodeled. For senior citizens - easy access to lobby and rooms. If you are handicapped, please ask for a handicapped bathroom for wheel chair access.

"A great place to stay especially for you canine traveler"
O851BXjoand, 06 Novembre 2017

Great welcome and friendly service especially bec it was a pet friendly establishment.. Rooms were great and beds extremely comfortable. My initial contact was by phone and the Cus.. Rep was extremely helpful& courteous ..also on our arrival.though we only stayed one night it was our first time for our dogs and I can truly say they enjoyed the stay too!

"great value"
Carolyn M M, 06 Novembre 2017

this was a great value for the price in this area. Convenience of close proximity to everything is especially good. The staff could not have been nicer and so helpful. The room was quite large and comfortable .

"Nice hotel"
G9097YZkevinm, 06 Novembre 2017

Stayed here in early Nov so it was not many guests. Chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. Nice room. Big indoor pool. Just a nice place for a reasonable price.

"Nice Clean, Affordable"
X9916YEdeborahm, 31 Octobre 2017

Very nice hotel. Rooms are clean, the rest of the hotel is also clean and comfortable. It's also affordable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Stayed there for a small miniatures show. it's a nice location, close to everything in Williamsburg.

"Great job"

It was great the employees was great and very helpful, they was very polite, overall stay there was great I surely will come back to the same hotel, the rooms was good and everything else was great, great job!!!

"Nice hotel"
Doris V, 23 Octobre 2017

Nice Hotel. Overall experience was good. Staff were all friendly. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Location is close to lots of activities. Stay did not include free breakfast. There was a restaurant/bar on location however we went else where to eat.

"Smoke smell"
682tracyn, 23 Octobre 2017

The non smoking room had clearly been occupied by a smoker. It wasn't aired out. We were there during a busy weekend so I was greateful fir the room, but disappointed in the quality of cleanup. Otherwise, high level service at mid-level motel.

"Less than mediocre hotel"
Erica A, 23 Octobre 2017

We booked two rooms here for a family trip to Busch Gardens, and our usual choice was booked. This hotel had lackluster staff, confusing layout to elevator and rooms, and very strong paint fume odors in one of the rooms made it difficult to sleep.

"Great location & Value"
alanpZ2990WW, 23 Octobre 2017

We recently stayed in October 2017. You could tell the motel had been remodeled recently and was very nice. The staff was very friendly. The bed was so comfortable. The shower was great and had plenty of hot water. We have been to Williamsburg many times through the years and had never stayed on this side of town and the location was incredible. It is pet friendly with a large area of grass for the dogs. We will come back to stay here again. The only negative would be the toilet was so low and it took a long time for hot water to arrive in the sink.

"Just average"
doug j, 22 Octobre 2017

There was a problem at check in they where prompt in fixing it. But the hotel offers no free continental breakfast just sad.The on-site restaurant offers comparable prices to eating out anywhere else in the area

"Great Value for the Price"
N2158IBwilliams, 18 Octobre 2017

The experience that put this hotel over the top was its friendly hotel staff. From housekeeping to maintenance, to the restaurant staff. and front desk, we were always treated with a smile and a willingness to accommodate whatever we needed. Another plus was its location to Colonial Williamsburg. It was within walking distance. We were so glad that our tour program chose this hotel.

"Great Value for a Simple Stay"
regiontravelreturns, 14 Octobre 2017

Very friendly staff, reasonably attractive rooms, "indoor" pool (the type of pool that has a glass "house" over it), priced for value. Walkable to the Capitol/Christiana Campbell's Tavern "end" of Colonial Williamsburg, convenient drive to Busch Gardens, also walkable to the Colonial Pancake House (our current favorite). Attached restaurant/bar. Excellent choice for families headed to the theme park.

"Great place to stay"
jameshA8455AF, 14 Octobre 2017

Perfect for a visit to the historic area. Close by, easy access, very comfortable . Will keep this in mind for future trips. Excellent value. Can't think of anything that could have made it a more enjoyable experience unless I had brought my swimsuit

"Less than expected"
pretzel_lover, 13 Octobre 2017

In full disclosure, we purchased the one night stay as a Groupon because we were planning a last minute trip to Williamsburg. We had never stayed at this hotel before but knew that it was centrally located to where we wanted to be. We researched the hotel a bit and based off of the pictures, decided this would be more than what we were looking for in a one night stay. After we checked-in and went to the room, we were taken aback. Carpet was dirty, room was in poor repair, and it looks like it had been neglected for some time. Because we checked-in late and were only staying one night, we decided to stay. I only realized what happened when I came home. They put us in a pet friendly room. The rooms pictured on the website are the regular rooms on the higher floors. To the best of my knowledge, this information was not disclosed to us. I am disappointed that the potential for being placed in a pet friendly room was not disclosed to us. As well as the fact that the pet friendly rooms are in such poor repair. We visit the Williamsburg area at least twice a year and this hotel will not be under our consideration again.

"So great!"
Tim H, 11 Octobre 2017

Alice in housekeeping made me feel very at home with her smile and warm personality. Mr. Revere was also very welcoming when I checked in. This is like a home away from home with people who trust and care!

"BEST VALUE IN TOWN"
DONALD P, 11 Octobre 2017

The Best Western in Williamsburg Historic District is definitely the best value with exception quality. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The location was just minutes to Colonial Williamsburg Historic District. The only negative was breakfast was an additional charge however I have found that most of the good hotels in Williamsburg do not offer this amenity.. I highly recommend this Best Western

"Colonial Williamsburg's Nearby Neighbor!"
CWfave, 10 Octobre 2017

This Best Western used to be the Clarion Hotel. There have been some renovations with the change in corporations. The staff is extremely friendly and understanding. The rooms are a good size and always very clean. There is a restaurant attached and they offer a variety of breakfast items.Dinner is available as well. The servers there are so helpful. The location is perfect. You can walk to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens, Jamestown and Yorktown are a short car ride away.

"great place to stay"

Enjoyed our stay. Great hotel and location. Kim in housekeeping provided exceptional care of us. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. We plan to stay here again when in the area. Close to the park

"Great place to stay and visit Williamsburg"
Bob S, 09 Octobre 2017

This hotel is the perfect place to stay and visit Williamsburg. Also this weekend the Arts Festival was there with a Great many booths to visit. My group enjoys the fact that our trip there was to walk 2 trails that a local Volksmarch club had designed. My group enjoyed the walks and the fact we could have a group meal Saturday night at the hotel.

"Nice!"
thepinupcowgirl, 25 Septembre 2017

This is a clean and well managed Best Western. The rooms are not super luxury, but they are clean, updated and comfortable. I would stay here again without issue at the price point I paid for the room.

"Terrific Best Western"

Great place to stay while in Williamsburg, the folks at this hotel will take care of you! The rooms are nice & clean and the location is great and centrally located, so easy access to all that's in and around town.

"Best serviceever"
jpeckman, 22 Septembre 2017

The staff and kitchen workers were great. The Kitchen worker named Vanessa really went out of her way. after the first day would put coffee, juice and other things on our table. We had been leery but this one changed our minds

"Excellent location, service and value"
carmendI963YX, 22 Septembre 2017

On both our recent stays we were completely satisfied with the rooms. Quiet rooms and comfortable beds made for restful sleep. The sparkling pool was a treat to relax travel aches. Hotel is close to all sightseeing venues. Definitely our home away from home on future visits to the area.

"Very good and getting better"
RonR611, 21 Septembre 2017

This is a relatively new property and is experiencing growing pains. With a GM like Neil, a Mgr like Charles, and front desk personnel like Judy, it will not take long for this property to be operating like a well oiled machine. I highly recommend this property.

"Great experience"
LauraN443, 20 Septembre 2017

Friendly, personal staff in a sharp-looking hotel. Comfy beds, great check in and out experience, terrific pool perfect for lap swimming. Some older features have been updated and they are making a tremendous effort to make this a great hotel experience. A service dog left in the next room barked constantly and they moved me with great sympathy and concern. I skipped the breakfast but walked into Williamsburg--great location, though I still drove into town for the day. I was impressed, especially for the price point, and will definitely return.

"Nice stay"
peterfJ4274ZO, 18 Septembre 2017

This was a one night stay with our dog who does not want to be left behind or alone. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was a very nice paved walkway across the street. We should have stayed longer to use some of the amenities.

"W&M Parents Weekend"
masvss, 18 Septembre 2017

Hotel was clean and staff extremely courteous and helpful but what we appreciated most was the fact that you did not double or triple your rates during Parents Weekend which the other name brand hotels did. We will stay with you again because of that.

brianfT520IE, 12 Septembre 2017

This was a very helpful hotel and Judy did a good job. It is very nice that they let you keep a dog. I helped because a local diamond resort did not let us keep a dog. They even have a pet sitter. Thanks

"Excellent stay"
Arch M, 08 Septembre 2017

The hotel was nice, The room quite satisfactory. The TV, and internet worked will. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and the shower was very good. Did not partake of their breakfast offer as they charge $11.99 for it. Did not feel it was worth it. Since I am a cereal and fruit person, I went elsewhere

"My trip to Williamsbug"
Mark M, 05 Septembre 2017

Place located in a nice spot and convenient to many areas of interest. Colonia Williamsburg, Jamestown, Outlet mall and of course many eating facilities. Beautiful scenery and had the convenience of a swimming pool and exercise room. Breakfast not so hot but manageable.

"comfortable and convenient"
Jen827, 04 Septembre 2017

Wish I could do 3.5 stars...this is a pet friendly hotel that is convenient to downtown historic Williamsburg and Busch Gardens / Water Country. I believe all the pet friendly rooms are on the first floor and one of the staff introduced herself on the 2nd day of our 2 night stay that she was a pet sitter and for $10 would walk your pet every 3 hours while you were out. That's cheaper and more convenient that taking advantage of the BG Pet Kennel which costs $10/day+ premium parking which is an additional $20 or $30. But do you trust someone to come into your room to walk your pet? Our room was updated but needed some finer points - the caulk was crumbling in the door frame in the bathroom and there were some water stains in the bathroom celiling, no bathroom fan - but functional, comfortable and clean. The indoor pool is large and there was no one there! Towels and lounge chairs are provided. There was also a nice hotel gym. There is a good sized in room refrigerator but no freezer compartment. In room coffee maker is tiny but there is coffee in the lobby. Plenty of parking and sidewalks to walk your dog. All said, we'd definitely stay there as a pet friendly option in the future.

"Smells, Bugs and Electronically disconnected"
Lynne M, 03 Septembre 2017

Needs help and a makeover. Tub faucet leaks, tub needs to be re-grouted. Toilet does not always flush completely. Linens are old and worn. SMELLS and has roaches. WI-Fi does not work TV has a distorted picture.

"What a great experience!"
melaniecZ267IC, 28 Août 2017

I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel! Very comfortable and inviting! This hotel was pet friendly and if you hadn't seen the pets or read about it you wouldn't have known. The staff was great; especially the lady at check out! She made me laugh!!!

"Not worth the money"
Meaty B, 27 Août 2017

Hotel needs a overhaul, a little pricey to feel like I'm staying at a cheap motel. Could not close the bathroom door or you would be stuck in there forever becaue the door didn't open and close properly. The hotel lobby was great. Staff was great, but hotel itself I will never stay at again. It smelled like mildew.

"Good location, clean, friendly"
TravelLove886, 24 Août 2017

We spent one night here during a road trip and, in our opinion, it was a really great value. Reasonably priced, very friendly front desk staff, clean pool with towels available at the poolside, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good location. I'd stay here again on a future trip.

"Clean, nothing fancy "
Nicole S, 22 Août 2017

My fiancé and I recently stayed with our dog. When we got to our original room the door was opened and there was an odd smell. We called the front desk and they moved us to another room. The room we then moved to was fine, however, the previous guest's clothes were still hanging in the closet. The attention to detail was what bothered me which is why I gave the hotel a 4/5. Overall, the room we stayed in was clean. The hotel is nothing special, but we were only there to sleep so it was no big deal. Would recommend and would stay again.

"From the Heights"
490ronaldw, 21 Août 2017

My wife and I found the Best Western hotel in Williamsburg to be of very good overall quality and cleanliness and we would choose this hotel again. We spent the weekend in Williamsburg for our 54th anniversary, ate at our favorite restaurant, Aberdeen Barnes, and visited Jamestown (a must), and had an enjoyable experience.

W6290EAkeithr, 20 Août 2017

Overall my stay at best western was good, again the hotel manager should be commended on taking care of guest issues . It was very nice of him to take the time to come to my room along with the executive house keeper!!

"satisfied stay"
884athans, 15 Août 2017

hotel was nice. $11.95 for a mediocre breakfast was was the only letdown. We felt the breakfast was lacking in variety and quality for the price. Location was convenient to the historic sites . Also, the staff was v\\friendly and helpful. Overall, a good experience except for breakfast.

"Recently renovated interior"
Jae Wan S, 11 Août 2017

Clean room, Large swimming pool, Very close to Williamsburg. Breakfast not included. If you are planning to go Williamsburg, this place is perfect considering the price. But, you have to pay for the breakfast. By driving, you can get to a Harristeeter within 10 mins.

"Ideal Location"
156alexandrat, 09 Août 2017

This hotel is within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg which makes it an ideal location. The rooms have recently been refurbished, but the overall quality of the hotel is average for the area. Expect to pay extra for breakfast so I highly recommend checking out one of the fine pancake houses in the area. Not bad for a short trip to the area.

"BW williamsburg, historic dist."
Thomas Y, 07 Août 2017

Motel was very convenient to all the local sights and amusement parks. Would recommend to anybody needing motel reservations in this area. The rooms are very nice and have plenty of room. The Air conditioning is great as it has been very hot in this area.

"Gross bathrooms"
justintX5937GJ, 06 Août 2017

The lobby is absolutely gorgeous to be a older hotel that's been remodeled. The rooms however look thrown together and cheap. The bathroom in our room was gross. Between water & hair left in the tub then hair all around the toilet. I was thankful to be exhausted from being at Busch gardens all day or we would have found a new hotel. Also there's a bar and grill attached in the parking lot that seemed to be sketchy. We did arrive after 9pm.

"One night in Williamsburg"
Holly B, 04 Août 2017

Nice place to stay for the night, outside of the building could use some updates. The women behind the desk always acted like we were bothering her, there was a small issue with my card and she wasn't very helpful. Overall it's a ok place to stay for a night.

"Late checkin/ room not ready"
416rubenw, 29 Juillet 2017

We arrived at the hotel at 4:00 room was not ready. When we finally were able to check in around 4;30 the room had no towels. Took kids to the pool there were kids running from outside the doors and jumping in pool (very dangerous) one almost landed on my daughter as she was trying to swim. No staff to tell them they were not suppose to be running and jumping in pool so we just left the pool couldn't enjoy it. I will not be staying at this hotel next time in Williamsburg VA.

"Good hotel, no free breakfast"
Rebecca H, 25 Juillet 2017

This hotel is very close the Williamsburg historic site, within 2 miles. Check in staff was nice and so was the lobby. Rooms were clean, bathroom a bit weathered. Be aware- there are 2 Best Westerns in Williamsburg, this one, and another a few miles down the road. This one does NOT include free breakfast.

"Just Drive on Past"
C187NZjustinh, 25 Juillet 2017

Expected the "Best" .....Received the worst. Room reservations were wrong, beds were wrong, facility was a disaster, staff was less than friendly. We had problems from the minute we walked in the door to the time we checked out. I would be embarrassed if I was the manager of this hotel.

"Nice staff, dirty room"
nbaim, 24 Juillet 2017

The front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room had dirty socks on the floor, trash on the bathroom floor, and hair on the toilet. There was also a water leak by the ice machine. There was a wet floor sign in the hallway, but by the time we checked out, we were splashing our way out.

"DIDN'T GET WHAT WAS EXPECTED"
buschgardens2016, 23 Juillet 2017

For the rate paid, I thought that breakfast was included - cash only also and no ATM in the hotel. They did offer pet sitting service and rooms were cleaned daily. However, no microwave in room had to use small one in lobby, no clothesline for wet bathing suits, hot tub and ice machine not working. Most of the staff were friendly. For the $120/night just expected more.

"TERRIBLE"
GTSmith51, 23 Juillet 2017

Had to move in the middle of the night due to juvenile delinquents running up and down the hallway. We didn't keep anything in our vehicle we didn't mind losing. The rooms were outdated and unkempt, gum in the floor. Plenty of other hotels, avoid this one.

"Great Place to Stay by Williamsurg"
Kelly S, 18 Juillet 2017

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was located very close to Old Town Williamsburg. The value was great. The only drawback was the bathroom could have been cleaner. Also, the breakfast offered in the morning was not worth $11.99 per person. There are several pancake houses close to the hotel that were a better value and a higher quality menu.

"Nice Hotel but Indoor Pool needs improvement"
lorieb686, 17 Juillet 2017

Enjoyed our stay but not our pool time. The pool doors were open (no screens) which resulted in insects/debris in the water, poor filtration system, no rope to note deeper end, markings were faded & low chemicals (which resulted in short time in pool as I began to itch).

"Okay for 1 night"
Leddy215, 17 Juillet 2017

The website says the hotel had been recently renovated but in some areas there is still needed TLC. Our room was large for 4 people, bathroom was clean and new bedding and furniture were noticeable but the doors and the hallways all seem very worn down. The Lobby was find but once you start walking down the halls you can tell these place must have been pretty beat up before they started the renovations. The last Best Western which went stay at after being renovated was vastly different. So, if you're head to PA I recommend Best Western Plus, The Inn at King of Prussia King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Request a room in the new section. The FREE Breakfast and employees were all GREAT!

"Convenient to Historic Williamsburg"
Y6376VCteresab, 13 Juillet 2017

Overall a very nice hotel. Comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Restaurant had limited menu but was just getting up and running so understandable. Food that we did have there was very good. Proximity to Historic Williamsburg was terrific. Walked to historic area on several days.

"Pleasant Stay"
tracygreco11, 12 Juillet 2017

Overall the Hotel and Rooms were nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom could use a little updating and/or minor repairs. The restaurant however was poor. The only option for breakfast was a buffet. The food on the buffet was overdone and cold. The cost for the children was the same as adults and was not worth the money paid.

"Good location"
vanessan620, 07 Juillet 2017

We stayed here it was in the heart of everything. It was perfect when going to Bush Gardens. The room was clean. The front desk staff was helpful. The breakfast was good. The breakfast staff was awesome if you need anything they would jump to help. My daughter could only have almond milk and they had some. The girl ever made sure to put some extra out for us the next morning.

"Staff Excellent but Rooms..."
569sharynh, 06 Juillet 2017

Fruit Flies and Slugs in Room & Smell of stagnant water. These were the things that stood out as something I should report. The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. The indoor pool was very nice. The location to everything was stellar!! Just hated inhaling the stagnant water, swatting at fruit flies and stepping on a slug in the middle of the night while going to the bathroom.

"vACATION"
572eugeneb, 04 Juillet 2017

The HOTEL WAS IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION TO visit , THE HISTORIC District and colonial Williamsburg near shopping, restaurants. The hotel stay was excellent with a terrific staff who were helpful, attentive and ready always to help and please. The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you would want. A great fitness center and pool and a restaurant that is just starting up with a decent selection. Would go back again.

"Front desk check in was sad!"
joannaf735, 04 Juillet 2017

We showed up early at 3:30 to check in at 4pm and we felt like we were bothering the staff when we showed up to check in. They told us to come back after 4:30 and they "might" have a room ready for us. They proceeded to tell us how busy they were and that they did not have any clean rooms.(at 3:30pm). The front desk clerk Nancy seemed bothered that we were even there and she was the clerk that told us to come back after 4:30 and there might be something available. The other clerk Charles felt like it was his responsibility to fill us in on the problems with Best western and there lack of training the staff and how they had tickets lined all the way across the counter the night before and how busy they were and blah blah blah. We don't care. We are customers that just got off he rode traveling all day and we want to check in.

"Reward members beware!"
masaed2017, 04 Juillet 2017

If you are a reward member, you will not get points for staying at this hotel. Also, the pool and jacuzzi were not clean, nor was the water level high in the jacuzzi. The fitness center didn't have water nor cups if they did have water, to their credit, they did replace the water bottle in the dispenser the next day. Also, if you are used to getting continental breakfasts at BW, they do not offer one.

"Location and comfort"
111ellenk, 03 Juillet 2017

Can't beat the proximity to CW, and the room was very comfortable. Nice people! It was convenient to Busch Gardens too! This will be tops on my list for another visit. The value for the money was terrific.

"Damp, stale cigarette odor, slugs/spiders..."
W8365OGkimk, 25 Juin 2017

As customers who booked through Booking.com, we were given a room in the 1st floor basement. It was damp and reeked of stale cigarette odor. On the 2nd day there was actually a slug found crawling on a suitcase. Found spiders in the tub. Would NEVER stay here again or recommend.

"very good stay-hotel-and staff"
O1857FLrichardj, 24 Juin 2017

Ms. Judy was very helpful in directions and made us feel very welcomed The location of hotel is great for Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.Jamestown and Yorktown is within 7 miles. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed.

"Very happy"
H7565SVkatherined, 22 Juin 2017

Staff was very hospitable very friend the room was clean, very well decorated and comfortable. We will more then likely be staying with them in the near future, I can't wait to get back they made our experience in Virginia that much better.

"Pleasant , Basic hotel"
811rebeccamp, 21 Juin 2017

I don't have a lot of complaints about my stay here. It is an excellent basic hotel that serves its purpose. It has a super convenient location with walking distance to historic Williamsburg and a few minutes from Busch Gardens. The room was clean and nicely decorated. A nice touch was a pasture of horses across the street from the hotel. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it. It is a good value.

"NASTY throughout"
RagTopRon, 20 Juin 2017

First impressions: There are more leaves in the foyer than there are in the parking lot. Place looks tired. One receptionist is professional, one is aloof. I get the latter. No "hello" "welcome" ...just "ID and credit card." After traveling all day I'd like to slap some manners into this wench. Reality: This place doesn't look tired, it IS tired. The carpet is gross. The hallways are dimly lit (mercifully so) and scar laden. The elevators are dirty, small and hot. The room key doesn't work. Should've take. It as an omen... the room is dark, outdated and hot. We crank AC down and immediately exit to resuscitate and find dinner. When we return the room is as hot as before...we can't sleep. Front desk says they can't help ("try unplugging and plugging back in"). We can't sleep... finally the front desk says we can move to another, albeit smaller, room. My wife and kids move and I stay behind, as there aren't enough beds in the cooler room. I awake at 5:30am ...TV signal is out. I head down to get coffee but I fear my room key won't work again so I'm reluctant to lock myself out. The front desk has no attendant. I try to cancel remaining rez but I'm told it was made thru Expedia and BW has no control. I calll BW national line and they say customer service doesn't open 'til 10 EST. I tell myself I can tough it out for two more nights...I brought flip flops so I don't have to touch the carpet...I can sleep in my clothes so I don't have to touch the sheets. I'll bathe the tv remote with Purell, keep a keen eye out for bugs and take really long showers. Nasty.

"Personal Comments"
D6992PPjeanm, 18 Juin 2017

My overall rating is average: 3/5. It's recommended for short-term stay of a small family for leisure purposes. It's close to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. The total expenses are affordable. However, I thought I checked online that accommodation includes breakfast but there was none.

"Please do not stay here. "
Emily V, 17 Juin 2017

This place is absolutely infested with cockroaches. Some regular-sized and some the size of a mouse. When we arrived, the lobby looked nice enough, but then when we got to our rooms it was like a horror show. Roaches falling out of clean towels, crawling on the doors and walls... disgusting. I cannot believe that we paid $100 for this hotel. If they would have charged $40 it would have been too much. This place makes me feel like I need a shower, but can't take one because there are cockroaches in it. Can't wait to get the heck out of here.
