« Good location just on the highway. »

Clean room and excellent restaurant. Good value and nice extra touches in the room. Very good staff in the restaurant and at reception. Good selection of wine for a Best Western. Highly recommend this motel.

« Excellent stopover and great value for money. »

Very comfortable hotel, rooms have plenty of room with couch and coffee table, queen bed and modern bathroom. Good fridge, tea and microwave facilities. Bed extremely comfortable with mattress topper, heating and air conditioning and a table & chairs outside on balcony. All rooms on ground floor, a pool available, but too cold at present! Restaurant on site, but we did not eat there. Staff very helpful on reception. Wifi does not stay when closed down for a short time so need to get several codes for convenience.

    « Tidy and a good night's rest »

Pretty standard motel built some time ago but in good condition with a large and comfortable room. Very quiet and great value for money. Seniors get a discount and breakfast included if you book the "Seniors Special".

    « Good »

Stayed here overnight for business, I usually stay at the foreshore. The Alexander has a similar style of basic room with comfortable beds, my room was clean and tidy and had complimentary WiFi. The quality of food at dinner was excellent, I had grilled whiting that was fresh and delicious. I only interacted with one staff member here and he was very friendly and chatted easily. I'd happily stay here again.

    « Thanks for a great time! »

I can't rate the friendly service enough! Upon arrival there was a minor housekeeping error in our room and we were immediately upgraded to a king size room. All the staff, especially at the front desk, were warm, welcoming and friendly. We dined in the restaurant one night and had room service the following night as well as breakfast and it was all fantastic. Thank you so much for a highly relaxing and enjoyable weekend!

    « Three night stay »

Good friendly check in and check out. Stayed in single queen room. Good sized parking bays. Room was a good size comfortable and clean. Bathroom a little small and shower curtain allowed some water onto floor. Motel was quiet. Service staff very good with added touch of cleaning car window daily. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay again.

    « Awesome »

Me and a few mates stayed here for the drags it was amazing the owner opened up back gates so we could get our cars right next to our room and under surveillance the rooms were clean tidy very well set the food is the best whyalla has got to offer iv eaten in most places nothing compares to the food here simply sensational staff very helpful and polite and most importantly beers were cheap best place to stay and eat in whyalla by far

    « A great find »

We rolled into Whyalla late in the evening,it was pouring cats and dogs (we have a camper trailer which was already soaking wet from a week of rain and camping ) so we decided to pull into the Alexander to get a room .The manager on reception could not have been more helpful and put us in a room where we could park parallel to get our clothes out without getting more wet then checked with us on the room phone to see if we would like some food before they closed the kitchen,we decided to go to the restaurant ( we had forgotten about eating as we were soaked and it was late) so we went to the dining room and the manager got us some drinks and bar snacks and warm up before we went into dinner .Dinner was lovely and the fish especially was delicious ! They have tablecloths and nice lighting and good ambience (a family was in there celebrating a birthday) .The hotel room was lovely and clean and then we had a continental breakfast in the morning which was excellent with the paper supplied and the dining room set up with juices / cereal etc . I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough and the staff were wonderful,we were sad to leave Whyalla and it was due to this hotel and the friendly people we met in town .I cannot wait to return .

    « Comfortable and relaxing. »

Well finished rooms, spacious, comfortable and clean. Excellent service and flexible check-out. I am a return customer and will definitely stay again. Craig and co, made me feel relaxed and at home, and cook a mean breakfast.

« Great location and nice room!! »

Great friendly service and room is nice with very comfortable bed and has all the facilities you want out of a hotel. Good price and the location is very central in whyalla. Would recommend to stay here!!

    « Visiting my grandson »

    « short stay whyalla »

I had the reason to go to Whyalla for a friend's birthday party to be held at this motel, The room was overcrowded with furniture and very dark from poor lighting. The door to the outside courtyard was blocked by one of the beds and the lock was broken, only security a flimsy chain lock .I was booked into motel for 2 nights and while the towels were changed in shower the beds were unmade. The birthday was held on the Saturday night the food was amazing and the service of the waiting staff was fabulous. An amazing chef who cooked the meals for 68 people

« Great service owner understand customers »

Amazing motel run by friendly owner who truly cares about customer excellence - every aspect of the visit was friendly and I couldn't have asked for more and if I did they would have arranged it! Great dinner as well - awesome mixed grill and wines.

Fantastic Motel with host Craig and daughter Amy running this establishment. We paid $130 per night per double which included continental breakfast , The continental breakfast consisted of all the usual etc cereals , fresh fruit , yoghurts, fruit juice ,stewed fruit , different toasting breads ,Ham and Cheese that you could make a toasted sandwich . Craig even shouted birthday drink to the 2 people who had their birthdays during our stay. There is also a BBQ that guests can use in the nicely laid out grounds, we liked it so much that we stayed an extra night

    « Always clean, neat & tidy. »

Excellent service from the staff with meals that are great. Rooms are spacious and there is plenty of parking. When in the area we stay here and have done so on several occasions over the last two years. If it was crap we would not stay. Meals can be bought to your room, just ask. Parking is a breeze and we can even get our semitrailer out to the back of the motel. Great for security of both the vehicle and our clients goods. Yes we will stay here again.

    « Excellent service »

Excellent service from Amy who got me to the airport when the taxi she'd booked went AWOL. Prior to this my stay was comfortable and the staff helpful. A bit of a walk to the shops but would definitely go back.

    « Birthday party. »

I booked the private dining room for my recent birthday party and was extremely happy with the whole evening. I live in McLaren vale, so arranged the evening by phone with Craig, the manager, and he was very helpful during the booking process and provided all that I requested and more. He also offered helpful suggestions which improved the event. Craig and his staff were fantastic, they were professional yet not stuffy. My guests and I really enjoyed the food and dining experience. Thanks Craig for a great birthday experience.

    « Comfortable and friendly »

Had a one night stop over travelling from Adelaide to Port Lincoln. Hotel is not close to the main shopping centre so was a bit of a walk to go out that night but for those driving its only a 5 min drive. We prefer to walk so no great drama. Mine host was very nice gentleman who clued us up on travels down the track. Room was adequate, clean and comfortable. For a quick stopover it did the trick

« Great in all areas »

The hotel was well situated within the town. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were extremely clean, very comfortable and up to date. The price was reasonable. We will be staying there again.

    « Good service »

My company booked me into the Alexander motel I found that the staff were friendly and very helpful. I've visited once before a few years back an I was surprised with the amount of renovations they have done in that time. I had continental breakfast while I was there an found that they had a sandwich press there where they supplied the meats and bread which was great! My overall experience there was enjoyable and I will definitely stay here again when I come next.

« Stayed during renos, but has potential »

My worked booked me here for a 2 night stay arriving on a public holiday. The motel was having outside renovations done so there were tradies utes and equipment all over the place at time blocking entrance to the motel units during the day by closing off the access in front of reception. As metioned, I arrived on a public holiday and was greeted by a very friendly man who advised the restaurant had just closed but offered other suggestions. The room itself showed the properties age, but they had recently done it up with new furnishing and beddings and some 'officeworks' style furniture. Interestingly they supplied a toasted sandwich maker alongside the usual kettle and iron. Parking was directly outside the room and the rooms were quiet and pretty isolated from outside noise. My courtyard view was a little underwhelming. My stay was perfectly fine. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. I would stay there again if my work chose it for me, though I might check beforehand that the building works had finished.

« Quiet and cosy in winter »

We stayed here because we were passing through. Not having looked it up first was risky, but it paid off. The room was comfy, the good was good and we slept well. At a reasonable price too, this was a great place to stay and I would stay again

    « Return Visit »

As I had a return visit to Whyalla and needed a two night stay we booked here again. As usual, the staff were welcoming and efficient. As they advised heavy bookings for the Restaurant , we chose to go elsewhere. After returning from Dinner the only disappointment was poor signal on the local football broadcast channel. When discussing the problem with reception comment was made that many a fix had been tried without success. Maybe the solution is to add Austar to the accomodation. It may cost a bit more, but then the decision to stay is the customer's. Once again no complaints with the room, a warm comfortable bed and spacious lodgings make this place hard to go past when visiting here.
