Best Western The Ship Hotel

A trip to the bar this evening to check the venue for a potential large booking next year. Very rude staff would have expected more from a supervisor. In the order asked for non sugar items. When gave sugary items refused to exchange without having to purchase another one.when challenged said would get the manager after waiting half an hour. Was told there was no manager on duty. Would not advise using this venue for anybody with food intolerance as they do not listen. Becoming rude when highlighting the error.

Not enough staff to assist during busy periods felt so sorry for them. They really worked so hard. Room 217 has a dodgy window and was difficult to close. Carpet rather worn. In need of an upgrade. Menu small so only had one meal which was ok. Breakfast ok would have preferred it to be on order rather than buffet but that's just personal choice.

I booked a normal single room for a grown up male Im 5 foot 11 and the bed that was in the single room was tiny my feet were hanging off it, after telling the recieption about this she said she would speak to her manager, I come back an hour later to find out her manager told her there's is nothing she will do apart from upgrade me to a double at my expense, I explained I don't need a double I need a bed with normal length I'm not a giant and don't fit in the bed, She said sorry nothing more we can do, I think this is terrible, and told her ok il pay but make sure you know I won't be keeping this to my self and il do a in depth review, she was silent after that

I visited this hotel on Sunday 28th January as I had an induction with my new employer at Mercedes Benz World nearby. I arrived at the hotel at near 9pm after a near 5 hour train journey and was greeted at the reception to be told that I had a £30 meal allowance that had been paid for but food stopped being served at 3pm on Sundays when the earliest check in is 2.30pm. Already disappointed that I had to spend my own money on food at Dominos which is next door, I lay on the bed to find pubic hairs both on the bed and also under the duvet. I went to reception to show the receptionist photos of this and she apologised and agreed to put me in another room. After 10 to 15 mins I returned to the reception to be given a new room card and made my way to that room. Upon arriving to the second room, I checked the bed as I was concerned after my first room and once again found both long hairs (I have a fully shaved head) and pubic hairs. Disgusted after this I went to reception once again and complained and once again the receptionist (who clearly let me know she was annoyed at my complaints) apologised and agreed to find me another room. 10-15 mins later I returned to the reception and allocated a third room. I asked the receptionist to accompany me to the room so we could inspect it together. She was adamant that she had checked the room and it was clean. Upon getting to the third room, the top of the duvet seemed clean however when I turned the duvet up once again there were pubic hairs. As it was now near 11pm and I was tired from a day of travelling, I asked the receptionist to speak to a manager which she told me no one was available to speak to. The receptionist gave me no option apart from to sleep on the floor as I had not brought my car which I would have slept in if I had driven down. I was told the manager would be there at 7am to speak to in the morning regarding my experience. As I was leaving the next morning at 8am, I went to reception at 7.15am to speak to the manager regarding the hygiene, cleaning and my experience at the hotel to be told that they were not in until 3pm. I expressed my dissatisfaction on the Best Western website (it's a franchise) and the complaint was redirected back to the hotel and told it could take upto 7 days to respond. On the 7th day after my complaint, I received a poor excuse/explanation/lie from the manager Sarah who claimed it was because the laundry company had used different washing powder when clearly the sheets had not been washed. Sarah also offered me a free nights stay in the hotel as a gesture of goodwill which I declined as it was 220 miles from home and it was the most disgusting hotel I had ever stayed in in my life including hotels abroad where standards are often lower. Stay away from this hotel unless you are not bothered about hygiene. Disgusting hotel and poor customer services at all levels from the rude receptionist (small Asian woman) to Sarah “the manager”.

Staff are excellent but not enough of them. Housekeeping are terrible, duvet cover far too small for duvet so it is folded up inside, toilet is leaking, wireless chargers are poor, 1 pack of biscuits between 2 guests. Breakfast poor selection although staff (1 man) very helpful and got me some porridge made. Very little hot breakfast on buffet although regularly topped up. Continental consisted of ham and rubbery sliced cheese only. No menus provided, much better breakfast in a premier inn. Best western breakfasts used to be good and include eggs Benedict, and other fresh items. We were very disappointed. Parking and location are good and the restaurant is ok but the bar is often not staffed. Unlikely to stay again better service and room at a premier inn!

Had my 50th party here in the Thames suite function room. Holly was wonderful in helping me organize the event and the staff on the day were excellent. The food was lovely and the room looked great too, I highly recommend to anyone looking for something a bit more special than a pub for their party. Everyone commented on how lovely the venue was. Thanks to Francis the resident dj who smashed it and made us all smile with his dance moves! Fab night

Amazing place, location is great( on the High Street), all staff were professional and attentive. Food very good. Room was huge and very clean. I stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best! I will stay again and highly recommend this hotel

I have stayed at The Ship to visit family.. Great location, room was very spacious and clean. Staff were excellent , noting was to much. We had breakfast and dinner and everything was perfect. Highly recommend and definitely will use again!

The room was extremely clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly - I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel for a few nights stay - the bar staff and the check in staff were very good

I didn't realise that Best Western were a budget brand, Had I known I would have stayed elsewhere at a fraction of the price. Don't be fooled by their website, much of it is a work of fiction. The Ship is is a tatty and scruffy featureless hotel, which is well overdue for refurbishment. I am certain that you can get a lot more for similar money elsewhere, I certainly won't return

Had a lovely few nights staying at The Ship. Great location, big clean family room with comfy beds. The waiter at breakfast was really nice. Stayed here to visit central London and got the train from Weybridge to Waterloo. We'll definitely stay again when in the area.

Food very limited and poor quality, internet poor and staff seemed in a rush to get rid of any guests. Rooms are ok. breakfast was not even of premier inn standard so not worth the £14 per person.Parking is ok but hard to find .

This is the last time I ever stayed at a best western hotel. we checked into this hotel with an executive room. I asked for a quiet room which this was at the end of the corridor, although looking onto the main road so not really too quiet. once we're in the room, there was an horrendous fan noise coming from the ceiling. We went down to reception who sent an engineer up who said it's actually something on the roof and he cannot stop it. He suggest we move rooms. reception were not very helpful but gave us the last executive room in the building which was right at the back. When I arrived there I was shocked I found hairs on the bed and when I pulled the duvet back more hairs inside the bed. This was a disgrace , I went downstairs to ask for the manager and although it was 4 pm he had already left for the day, I asked for a refund and said I will not be staying here to be told that cannot be authorised and I have to take it up with Head Office. This is where the story gets worse. I rang Head Office as I'm standing there outside the hotel looking for somewhere to stay to be told by the receptionist I cannot speak to a director or anybody as nobody is here and any complaints can only be emailed to us , this is a disgrace I run big companies and when you've got a major problem is this really what you do I've not managed to get my money but I will never be staying at best western hotel ever again know when my company start . Hotel like anything it really shows DePalo rights and this is what you get . I'm shocked in a lovely area like Weybridge.

Lovely 1 night stay with a lovely breakfast. Staff are polite & friendly. Rooms are clean & spacious. Have stayed here before & will definitely stay again. Location is great for town & walks with many shops, restaurants & pubs.

We went for a group dinner and dance. 5 couples had a 3 course meal with Disco afterwards. Food good, good beer, wine not un reasonable (£25 a bottle?) and DJ and Music mostly excellent . Only minor gripe- it finished at 12 and the place was bouncing..so going on another 30-60 mins would have finished it all great...but licenses , councils and NIMBYs tend to stop fun!

Very very hot room. Got AC unit in room but faulty compressor kicks on every 10 mins, and window opens on main road. Stains on shower curtain. Shower mounted crooked. Toilet seat broken. Bed very tight on walls with sharp wooden corners. Banged legs lots of times. If booking Executive Suite DO NOT accept this room. Oh and if you complain to current management, good luck. Past management was awesome. I have stayed at this hotel many times before over the years and something has changed. Check out other hotels in area until you start seeing better reviews. Also saw other customer issues getting dismissed. Good luck!

It's an ok hotel. It passes the minimum for cleanliness. It is quiet, the bed is comfy and close to super market, main street, restaurants, etc. However, the management and hospitality is among the poorest I have experienced. They will do the absolutely minimal to accommodated your needs and they will do anything they can to make you buy their breakfast and meal packages in a very obvious and almost rude way. If you have the option, opt for Air B n B, which will be similar price but so so so much better amenities and hospitality!!!

If it wasn't for the sleep quality this would have been an enjoyable stay. Quality of sleep is a major consideration - especially for 'light sleepers', which is not a crime in expecting such! Prior to any stay I do my research and consequently requested a room away from extractor fans, near the 'Kitchen shop', fire doors and lifts. This was a booking weeks in advance, making my request to the parent company Desborough Hotels and informed that my request would be passed on. On check-in I was reassured that the allocated room was quite, only to have interrupted sleep from a squeaky, loud fire door behind headboard into early hours and then from 5.30 a.m.!! I expressed by disappointment to same receptionist on checking out; simple remedy of oiling hinges! What could have been an enjoyable stay was ruined, for a reasonable request in good time to honoured!

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The size of the bed was particularly generous. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast offers a good choice of quality food. The bar offers a good choice drinks and meals. Conveniently located in the town centre.

Excellent location and good value. The room we have was a standard double and was essentially a standard double hotel room. Clean and modern, TV, kettle with tea coffee and biscuits. The bed was excellent and one of the best I've slept in. The room was very hot but there was a fan to help. There is a good size and attractive outside courtyard to sit, a bar with planting of seating and a dining room. The hotel also has a few reception rooms for hire. This is our second stay, the first time there was a wedding reception so the hotel is good enough a venue to hold these type of events. The noise from the wedding guests could not be heard from our room so wasn't an issue. There is onsite parking although the spaces are a bit of a squeeze. No complaints and would stay again.

Our double room was very spacious and quiet. The towels in the bathroom were quite fluffy, white and the biggest bath towel (sheet) that I have used in any hotel -a very pleasant surprise! There was a great choice at breakfast, and it looked as if they were using local produce - we particularly noticed the field mushrooms and the sausages were very tasty. The staff were smart, friendly and helpful.

Would definitely stay here again. The only problem was the cold breakfast, the sausages were the only hot thing. If you took the breakfast orders and served them at the table, that would be amazing. Loved our room, everything catered for, couldn't have asked for anything else. Staff definitely 5*, pleasant and happy always smiling and very helpful. To you wonderful people who work so hard to make our stay unforgettable, well done can't praise you highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Very many thanks to Sarah, Holly, Delia, Florin, Charlotte and all the team in catering, housekeeping and support staff. Family and friends attended a Golden Wedding Anniversary 4-6 August, with some guests staying. The event was smooth, happy and comfortable and we much appreciated the dedication of The Ship's staff. The hotel's in-house DJ Francis is superb and lovely. Thank you again for providing a homely and flexible space for memories and laughter.

I avoided writing this review for some time. We recommend families and friends to stay here as we live in Weybridge. And we've had a mixed response. I also organise coffee mornings here as it's convenient. However the one time I have needed them with my four year old was today. I had walked the high street and my little girl desperately needed the toilet. She was absolutely desperate before we had walked the high street and after all the referrals and money we have spent here in seven years the receptionist refused point blankly to assist me. This is the one time I needed help. She could see it and refused. My little girl wet herself in the street just outside Morrisons. They weren't busy. They had all the time to be kind and this one receptionist refused. Shame on you. No morw referrals from Now on. This was a one odd occasion after many of times we have been and spent money. The mixed response I've had form people I have recommended is now justified in my view. Poor. Insensitive staff. I would avoid spending money with this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel on Friday night we had a bar meal which was ok .so on Saturday night we booked into the restaurant we was aware that there was a wedding reception on . We was advised we could have upto 1/2 HR wait .we was fine with that . But then it went down hill from there we ordered 3 starters and only 2 came .they said they would send the starter out .but that didn't happen then we ordered the mains once again we only got 2 mains .followed by the 3 main coming 15 mins later .the head waiter was to busy catting up the young girls at the bar .so needless to say we gave up if trying to finish our meal .our advise is if you are going to this hotel make sure there is not a wedding reception .don't book a table go out somewhere else to eat because unfortunately they have not got time to serve you .as a paying guest we all felt very let down we will not be going back .

Had a surprise family birthday to attend which would end quite late in Weybridge so needed somewhere close by to stay over. Chose Best Western because it was walking distance from event and could walk back after the celebration. Staff were pleasant… Beds comfortable, slept sound Breakfast was plenty as a buffet Can't fault any of our time.

Stayed Sunday night so we could visit Brooklands Museum on the Monday. Chose this hotel as it has parking and a restaurant. However, on checking in we asked what time the restaurant opened to be told 6pm. Went to the bar at 6pm to be told no food served after 3pm. Thankfully there is a Pizza Express over the road. Breakfast the next morning was a disappointment. Hot food items were cold. Eggs like rubber. Give them there due, we asked for fresh eggs and got those but hash potatoes and beans were not being kept warm. Room was a good size and clean so no complaints there.

Everything was fine, decent hotel, but slightly overpriced for the quality of stay. Booked an executive room but bathroom was dated with over bath shower. Got back to hotel late 9-45pm asked receptionist if still serving food, told yes until 10pm. Went to bar/restaurant area told no, sorry kitchen closed .

Couldn't believe no airconditioning just a window and a little desk fan. I didn't enquire on booking as I naturally assumed that airconditioning was now the norm in a Hotel chain such as Best Western. Pretty much every car has A/C these days! So a very uncomfortable night was had, luckily it was just for one night.

No air conditioning, but decent rooms. Breakfast is expensive. Great small town. We landed at Gatwick and were going out of Heathrow two days later. Two different airlines, we wanted to make sure we made the connection to our crazy expensive flight back to the US from our long stay off the coast of north Africa. This was sort of in the middle of the two airports. The good, it was quiet on the inside courtyard, even with open windows after 8pm or so. They got us a second fan when we asked. We spent our layover day walking the canal. It was absolutely gorgeous. Manual locks just like I've read about. Just a short walk from the hotel. Good restaurants close by. "Lebanese Please" a two thumps up. Great small town in England. Large grocery store close by. The medium, food was available but just OK. They have some quirky hours though. We were caught off guard. Sunday night in small town England, bring your own food, or go to the local pizza joint. The not so good, no air conditioning. We were there in 60 degree weather and it was stuffy., Ran two fans. On a hot summer's night, yikes! Breakfast, unlike the US BWs, isn't included. I am a cup of coffee and a piece of toast guy. The "continental" was 11 pounds, about $14, each. Oh, they smoke in England. A lot. In the courtyard which is where your open windows are. Know you'll smell smoke if your windows are open. We'd go back. Not on a hot summer night though. Good rates and a beautiful small town if you have the time to explore it.

Proximity to the M25 and a BR stations with fast and easy links to London a plus. We loved being able to wall along the river.

We travel down every month to visit family. After the hotel we usually use closed we found this little gem and so close to Ashford where we visit Always a pleasant stay, and breakfast is amazing will definitely be back again soon

We stayed here on New Year's Eve to avoid booking a cab in the small hours. Upon arrival (we did the online check-in) we picked up the room key really quickly and went to the room. Room was very tidy although there were 2 flies buzzing around which was annoying. Shower was good pressure and really warm. Slept very well (perhaps assisted by alcohol) but the bed genuinely was very comfy. Check-out was very easy and hotel situated near cafes and shops. Would stay here again if needs be.

I am writing this review in regard to our recent experience at The Ship for Christmas Lunch. We live locally and after a late change of plans, due to illness , we were unable to go to friends for Christmas lunch with them. I called The Ship Hotel, explained the situation to a very nice receptionist , Rebecca, and the manager (Sarah), although not available at that time, was kind enough to respond quickly by email , saying that she would reserve a table for Christmas lunch for me and my husband. That in itself should make this a positive review of the hotel. We had a lovely lunch there, and the restaurant manager, Dragos, came by our table to greet us, as he did with other tables. A friendly warm welcome. I had a starter that was especially nice (tell the chef)- of baked figs with blackcurrants. Our mail meal was traditional turkey with all the trimmings, and we were pleased with the entire afternoon, having had a very good server, David. He was very efficient and friendly. The rest of the team were working hard, and there was a pleasant atmosphere among them. Thanks again, Sarah, for your help in making our Christmas lunch so nice and please relay to your staff.

A comfortable, clean hotel with very good breakfast fqacilities and also off street parking which otherwise would be an issue in Weybridge. Check in times were accurate and later we Arrived back late evening (after theatre visit) the night porter was in attendance and helpful.

Great hotel. As a business traveller I really rate this hotel. All that you need in the bedroom including good lighting, iron and ironing board and good toiletries in the spotless bathroom. Very quiet which surprised me as it's located just at the top of the high street. Very comfortable bed and quality towels. Friendly and professional reception staff who were willing to help make my stay pleasurable, which it certainly was. The star of the evening had to be the waiter in the dining room whose knowledge of good wine was phenomenal. I'm sorry that I don't have his name but he really made our evening. Really looked after us and was friendly without ever being intrusive. A real skill.

Great hotel that is located near many local restaurants and close to the main rail network. Staff are friendly and location is quiet even though it is in the town centre. Plenty parking in the hotel grounds too.

Avoid this hotel at all costs! I was charged for 2 hotel rooms instead of 1 room. The hotel blamed booking.com but a visa investigation discovered it was actually the hotel charging for 2 rooms. In addition, we only got access to the room at 9pm because it wasn't ready. Worst of all happened at check out, my 3 year old almost lost his fingers due to a reception window slamming down onto them. Unbelievably, the window was held up by a piece of glass. My advice, find somewhere more honest and safe!

This a lovely Hotel at the top of Weybridge High Street, the bed was really comfortable with a great quality mattress, loved the bathroom with a separate set of taps for both the shower and the bath. Plenty of grabrails around the bath to get in and out safely (it's surprising how many hotels don't have a rail for those Slippy moments getting out of the bathtub). They even supply a bath slip mat which is very useful. The rooms were a little on the small size, which makes them cosy. The breakfast is impressive from full English to continental, cereal to fruit. Tea, Coffee and toast making facilities and various juices. The staff are friendly and helpful and car park a good size and very handy. If I ever visit Weybridge again, I wouldn't look for another Hotel as this provided the prefect stay,

This was a very nice hotel with a good room that was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were also very good. I am not a good sleeper, and there was a rather noisy extractor fan outside our room which made it harder to sleep.

Very relaxing hotel but could use a refresh on certain areas. Bar was a little tired and the bathrooms need an upgrade. Front desk and breakfast very welcoming. Hotel location is very convenient. Definitely will come back.

Extortionate price for microwaved food. Ordered pie and chips, with peas @ £13.95 each a total of £28. Clearly, the food warmer technician aka the chef in the kitchen is adept only at using a microwave as pastry on pie was rock hard and overall very poor value. Also, when presented with a valid Tastecard, which entitles the cardholder to 2 meals for the price of one, it was refused as the hotel claimed they no longer subscribed to Tastecard. Bottom line is, the food is not great and grossly overpriced. Feeling ripped off and won't be back.

Stayed here for one night to attend a wedding locally. We booked 3 rooms. All of us enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds, clean everywhere. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Loads of choice at breakfast. Perfect stay, highly recommended.

This is my second stay at the ship and I was surprised to receive a complaint from a rude lady on reception…. My room (203) is obviously a family room as it has an adjoining door and I was told that the television was too loud and I needed to turn it down as the adjoining room had complained to them. This was really upsetting as I have a hearing disability and I am very conscious of it to the fact I always put the sub titles on, The TV is situated right next to the adjoining door so felt I needed to turn it off totally. In hind sight I wish I had asked to move rooms but I didn't want to make a fuss. I think the lay out of the room is wrong and the TV should be moved so it's not next to the adjoining door. Unfortunately with the TV turned off all I could hear was the noise from the bar/ courtyard from below. Not a pleasant stay at all.

The hotel room was adequate and clean. Despite advertising a restaurant, it hasn't been open for a long time. Ate an evening meal in the bar area, felt like the hotel didn't really expect you to eat there. The young man and young lady serving were lovely, polite and helpful. However they were run of their feet and I felt sorry that he had to deliver the news that at least 5 dishes from the small menu were unavailable. A member of our party was one of the people who had to select something else only to be told 30 mins later that the meal she'd ordered was unavailable too. At check out we weren't told we needed a code to raise the barrier on the car park. WiFi only available if you are willing to give your phone number and dob? Not a good visit at all.

We stayed for one night. The staff let us check in early which was very helpful. All the staff we spoke to were extremely friendly and professional. The room was nice overlooking the high street. The receptionist did mention there may be some noise from the traffic but we didn't see this as a problem. Which it wasn't

This is a hotel I choose to come back to when I am in the area. The hotel is conveniently located. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a very good breakfast. The on site car park is a real plus point. I will book here again when I next visit.

Couldn't sleep due to the room looking over the garden court yard. Why? An employee dragging chairs and tables around whilst brushing in the wee hours of the morning. Complained employee just shrugged his shoulders. The bed was like trying to sleep on concrete and the bathroom was dirty. On a positive note breakfast was great.

The staff were friendly, the choice at breakfast was excellent value. The room was spacious although a little warm from the heatwave but a fan was provided. The location was great for eating out locally.

We booked a 1 night stay at this hotel as it was well located near Sandown Park Races. The hotel were able to pre book a taxi to take us to the racecourse (thank you Celeste), and when we arrived we could check in early as our Executive Club room was ready. Our room (and the hotel) was extremely clean, the hotel staff were polite and helpful, our room was a great size with a very large king size bed which was extremely comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was very good, there was a large selection of hot food choices, which was fresh and cooked well and the staff made sure hot items were replenished regularly. We enjoyed our stay here and felt that it was extremely good value, especially in this area of Surrey. We will definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable. In spite of having a room at the front of hotel and with a wedding party staying, we heard very little noise and were not disturbed at all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and fresh.

Not a very enjoyable stay at all…. First of all, the room was in bad condition - the handle on the bathroom door was broken, there was a broken and loose tile on the bathroom floor, the bath plug was broken. There was no fridge and the room was RIDICULOUSLY hot. There was a fan in the room but it was so small it was pointless. It was almost impossible to sleep. Furthermore, my mrs woke up with bites all on her arms and I had one on my back. The staff were also disinterested and rude, apart from one guy from Bulgaria (I forgot his name but he was on the night shift). He was very helpful and was the exception. Also when we checked out we were not told the code to get out of the car park so I had to go back to the hotel to get the code. It would've been nice if someone said something as I was checking out. For approx £190 for 2 nights it was a complete rip off to be honest and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed in room 216

We came to have our wedding here as have been coming to the ship for years. Nothing was too much for the fantastic staff. Best day of our lives. Amazing food, great atmosphere, comfortable room. Perfect

This is a relatively historic hotel dating back 400 years. The main building is about a 100 years old. The room was comfortable and a reasonable size. It is a bit dark as would be expected for an older hotel. There is no air conditioning but there are fans in each room. The hallway did not seem as clean as the room. It is on the High Street in Weybridge which is a very nice walking neighborhood. We did not get the breakfast but looked at it. It was sparse and not particularly appetizing. There is a Cafe Nero 2 minutes away which was a great substitute. There is an attached pub and several nice restaurants within an easy walk. We thought we would need an additional night but they were sold out. They were checking on guests that had not arrived for us but we decided to move on.

The staff is among the worst I've ever experienced. My room was made up once. When asked, the front desk woman gave me a range of excuses from "the cleaners had the day off" to "we don't do that". Seeing my argument was futile, I pleaded for new towels and soap (I stayed for nine days). She promised to deliver them, and did not. It was a record heat wave and when asked to move into a room with A/C, I was moved to a room with barely functioning A/C. I left for a day, only to find the poor excuse for A/C turned off in my new room and the window inoperable when I returned. When our embarrassed English hosts called to complain in our behalf, I was met with the accusation of having COVID, which was their justification for the poor performance. FYI - I tested negative every day I was in England. To get a drink in the bar I had to search the grounds only to find two staff members gossiping, and two of them exiting a closet together. The bartender then had such bad body odor that it was difficult to stand in the room with him. Best Western should be ashamed to put its name on this travesty. This would be a poor experience for a cheap motel, let alone a 9 day stay in one of the wealthiest areas in England.

Had a horrible experience with the BW ship hotel at Weybridge. Had booked the hotel for 2 nights for a business trip. Was shocked to know that they had double billed my booking at the hotel. There was also an attempt to make the deduction from my card for the third time. However my credit card company realized this and they blocked the card. When i complained about this in the reception, no one is providing me any help. Everyone asks me to contact the Manager who appears never to be in the Hotel. They told i will hear from the manager soon. But no one called me about this problem. When I told the lady at the reception that i will call the manager, she told me ''DONT DO THAT". What a supportive and friendly staff. This is my worst ever experience with any hotel. I have visited many hotels for several business trips. But nowhere i have had such experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one. I never heard from the manager throught my stay. Did not get any support from her. This was my very first visit to the UK and had this experience.

We had our wedding here in June - it was a lovely venue and felt like home by the end. We arrived on the Friday (and were welcomed by lovely Sylvia at reception) to add a few extra decorations to the tables and in the room (the hotel let us add a few small additions for our themes of aviation and theatre, which we really appreciated). Guests arriving the next morning said they felt very welcomed and well accommodated. The day ran well and the Thames Suite is great - allowing guests to spread out into the courtyard, (the ivy and lights making it sparkle and good for photos) at the same time it's self contained so it's easier not to lose people! The room looked lovely with the fairy lights backdrop. We'd recommend Laura Gooding for beautiful flowers, Jackie Burden for unique wedding cakes - both local. Guests gave us good feedback on the hotel's food and the disco was something else - Francis Mante, the hotel's resident DJ, is a gorgeous human being, full of happiness, energy and good music - he had a large music list from us and we were so grateful he played many of the tracks as they meant a lot. The whole day was one of friendship, love and reunion (we'd not seen many of our guests for years) - thank you to Sarah, Dragos, Francis and all the operations and housekeeping staff for their attention to detail, time and helpfulness - and letting us bring in a singer and pianist! I'd recommend room 301 for a bride - spacious, cosy, in a private area of the corridor with just room 302 next door and with easy access down the stairs direct to the ceremony room (also great for pre wedding photos with bay window and steps into the room). Such a special day which we'll hold on our hearts. Thank you!

We celebrated our wedding at the hotel. Sarah helped us organise anything and everything we needed to help us make the day magical for us and family and friends. All staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Couldn't praise the venue enough as nothing was too big or small to help us achieve exactly what we wanted and planned. On the day Dragos and Gina were organised and made sure everything went according to plan. Food was extremely tasty, will be visiting again as the venue now holds a special place in our hearts.

Have stayed here a few times for work which have not been bad in the standard double rooms , it's not the best but not the worst either. Today I decided that I'd try the club executive which honestly is worse than the standard double room. This room was old , ugly wooden furniture, the room smelt really old and mouldy, TV worse than the standard room, right in front of a load of lights outside the window which shined through. The room didn't even have plug sockets next to the bed to charge your phone…. Unlike the standard room !!!! I just don't get it!!! I attempted to speak to the manager to request to actually go to a standard double room, didn't want a refund or anything just change the room but apparently they couldn't help me as all the other rooms where supposedly booked , even though I could go on their own website and book a standard double room ( the one I was asking to go to ) . So I just felt no one was trying to help me. I requested I just got refunded as I'd actually rather drive to another hotel or even more just go home and travel to work the next day instead, but again no help or felt like any effort had been put in for me as a customer. Person at reception really didn't seem like he was trying to help Overall terrible experience, room and customer service. Will go out of my way never to return here again

In a room close to the main road the windows let in so much noise I may as well be sleeping in the middle of the road. The hotel is very run down and well past it's use-by date. My room was freezing when I entered as someone had left the air con on full blast. Appalling.

I stayed here for business a couple of times, I chose it because it has plenty of parking available which is convenient. On my most recent stay I decided to pay £30 extra for the Club room, not really sure why but I treated myself (to robe, slippers and a newspaper extra). However when I checked in and went to my room there were none of these things, it actually looked the same as the room I'd previously been in. I called reception to check if I'd been given the right room and I was told that I was - and that there should be a robe (there wasn't) and that they haven't done newspapers for a long time. So for my £30 extra I got a small bottle of cheap mineral water. I tried to contact management - but you get directed to a 'chat' messaging service - so I asked for the difference in room price to be refunded, no response. At checkout there was no one at reception so as I'd pre-paid I just left rather than wait around. Apart from this the room was dated, not particularly clean and not worth the price paid.

We have used various hotels in the surrey area and find this hotel one of the best, we came from Northampton to my nephews wedding, we were greeted by the receptionist, given the keys to our room. It was comfortable. The food, for breakfast was ok, the actual wedding day went without a hitch, the surroundings, the wedding breakfast, the evening buffet were exceptional. Finally the staff went above and beyond, they were attentive. When we come again to visit relations or visit brooklands museum we will definitely be in touch. Many thanks for a great stay.

This was our second stay at The Ship Hotel. I love the location in the centre of Weybridge and the parking situation is great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The check in process was easy as was our check out.

From check in to check out the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. Breakfast was delicious, a complete hot and cold buffet offering along with juice, coffee, and a wide range of teas. We will be back.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a larger group for my birthday celebrations (not at the hotel). One of our guests tested positive for Covid prior to travelling and we asked initially if she could move her booking to later in the summer - she had booked 2 nights. Reception said that as she had booked a saver rate it was not possible to amend or cancel the booking. We then asked if one of our other guests could take the Saturday night booking, which had been paid for in advance. Again we were told that this was not possible as the rate was not amendable. When we checked in to the hotel nobody asked for any ID so had we not made the request and been turned down, another guest could have checked in using the booker's name - we did not do this as it is dishonest and we thought that, given the circumstances, the hotel might have been a bit more flexible and understanding. The Best Western website suggests that all of the hotels have been asked to remain flexible with their policies but that it is down to the individual hotel and in this case we just kept being told that they could not accommodate our request. It is clear that the hotel would not rather than could not amend the booking as following our booking we were contacted several times by email asking us if we would like to make the hotel an offer to upgrade our booking, so clearly, on the hotel's terms the booking could be amended. In addition to the inflexibility of the management the rooms were dark and quite dated. Carpets were worn and stained and the room was so hot it was almost impossible to sleep, even with both windows wide open. On the positive side the staff that we encountered during our stay were very pleasant it's just a shame that they are unable to accommodate the request - I cannot see what difference it would have made to the hotel who was sleeping in the room that we paid for, given that it was another one of our party guests.

We had our wedding here on 30th April with 60 guests for the day and a further 50 in the evening. From the word go, the team at The Ship were magnificent and ran the event fantastically particularly Sarah and Dragos. Our day had been delayed twice over the last 2 years and the Ship were very patient and helpful throughout that time. All the organisation and planning was professional and hassle free and meant we were able to enjoy the day without worry. The food was excellent both at lunch and the evening buffet, the resident DJ was fantastic and the photo booth was very popular. If we had the day again we wouldn't change a thing. Thank you everyone who worked that Saturday, you made our wedding that much more special.

Stayed for 2 nights, midweek, in an Executive Room (106). Very convenient location at the top end of Weybridge's main street - so easy walking access to shops and restaurants. Plenty of hotel parking. Bus stops are right outside the hotel, so easy access to train station or the Brooklands complex. We caught a bus to Woking station and then on to Guildford - which all worked really well. The room was really excellent, large and comfortable bed, and seating area with a sofa and 2 chairs around a coffee table. The bathroom was good, although the fan was rather noisy. Breakfast was fully buffet style, and a friendly and efficient lady kept everything topped up. Espresso coffees from the machine were good. So often hotel coffee is weak and tasteless. There is a snack menu available in the bar or lounge, or there are many nearby restaurants - although note that many seemed busy even on a Monday night, so booking is advised. Would recommend Cantina 41, a local independent Italian. All the staff were friendly and, for the price I paid, considered it excellent value, and would be very happy to return.

Really excellent service. Happy and helpful staff, good food, comfortable bed. Felt compelled to leave a review just to thank the staff for the smiles. The walk to our room was a bit of a trek down a few corridors, but the kids loved the task of finding our room. Thank you, we and the kids really enjoyed our stay.

The Ship (Best Western) in Weybridge is great, good location, free car park, good amenities but don't stay in room 102, the bed was so uncomfortable I had to put the pillows underneath me for some comfort. Please Mr Best Western, can you buy a new mattress for that room.

Well situated. Friendly welcome. Clean rooms with all facilities. Located in heart of town with lots of places within walking distance. All staff were very friendly and wdlcoming. Would highly recommend

Perfectly positioned to enjoy the restaurants, bars and shops of Weybridge on foot without the need to drive. The hotel is a characterful old inn with modern well- fitted rooms to the rear. Brooklands museum is a 5 minute drive away. Lovely Thames path is a 10 minute walk away!

Stayed at The Ship Hotel for 2 night, my partner & I had a fabulous stay & we will definitely be returning, the rooms were very clean & warm & the staff were very helpful, breakfast was very good & plenty of choices.

Hotel room was very clean and tidy. But the heating was off and our window had been left open. The radiator was turned off, we turned it back on but the heating was off and it didn't come on in the morning either. We used the hair dryer to warm the air in the room. Breakfast was a poor show too, basic poor quality buffet, eggs over cooked and lukewarm sitting in fat. We expected a fresh cooked breakfast for the price paid. Decaffeinated coffee wasn't available either.

I recently stayed at The Ship in November 2021. I did get a club room but the furniture and carpets were quite worn and could use a good cleaning and/or update. There was also a error with my reservation that was irritating. That being said the staff is very nice and the location is great and on the high street in Weybridge.

We had two rooms and one was of a much higher standard than the other, obviously due to there's been refurbished. The hotel does look a little tired, however the staff were fine apart from having to ask 3 times for our. Poached egg for breakfast. Our main concern was that we had checked online and it stated the restaurant was open so we assumed this was the case. We went down for dinner later only to find they could only do the odd bar snack so we were stuck where we were. It would have been better if this had been communicated to us on our arrival or keep the website upto date.

Stayed over in Weybridge on business for one night at the Ship. Great little place, no complaints about the room, all in order, very clean and comfortable and a good nights sleep. Although not a complaint, our evening welcome was not as warm as it might have been, as we had interrupted the receptionist's meal. A good, well stocked breakfast, although plentiful, was on the cool side with cold plates for the hot food. The staff seemed somewhat unattentive, chatting amongst themselves in the centre of the room, although we didn't feel they were unapproachable. We had arrived at the later end of the breakfast session, and as soon as the sitting was over, staff suddenly started to pack up the food and clear away. Again, not complaining as we had had sufficient food, but we thought it a little odd that we hadn't been approached to ask if we wanted anything else before they started clearing away, and throughout the sitting felt invisible. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay. Weybridge is pretty and easily accessible from London, and if we find ourselves in the town again, would not hesitate to stay at The Ship.

We thought we'd stay in Weybridge for an evening meal out at a Spanish tapas restaurant and to visit Mercedes World Brooklands the next day. The Ship Hotel far exceeded our expectations for the money we paid. Extremely friendly staff, a comfortable and spacious room, and a delicious buffet breakfast was what we experienced.

Lovely Hotel, ideal location for Thorpe Park. Had a pleasant walk around Weybridge and a nice walk to the Thames.Very friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Rooms decent size and adequate for a 2 night break. Would definitely stay again hopefully in a warmer season to enjoy sitting in the Courtyard!

Have just had a two night stay here, and can recommend easily to fellow travelers. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb and bar meals enjoyable. Amazing pizzas!!!! Will definitely stay again

I have to say we found our two night stay very enjoyable. The room was extremely clean and bed comfortable. We ate at the hotel both nights aswell and the food was really good. All of the staff members we had contact with were very helpful, polite and only too willing to help us. I have to say that the four of us who went had a great time and we would go back. The breakfast was also lovely. No complaints here, thank you for a lovely stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many times but found my last visit very disappointing. The staff were uninterested and at times rude. The room was inadequate, with broken window fastenings and no extractor in bathroom.

Not a bad overnight hotel, but I've stayed twice and each time on a different floor. First visit, second floor room, quite dated and old worldly, with the bathroom in definite need of upkeep, and with only one normal 3 pin socket on the furthest point of the bed for charging your phone, you need an extremely long lead to have it on the bed side table. The second visit i was on the first floor and the room had been renovated and plenty of sockets around, reminded me of small room in a premier inn, which is no bad thing. Only had food once and it was was it was, food to keep me going till breakfast. The car park is an extremely tight affair, both from getting in thru the barrier system and to the actual spaces unless you park right round the back. For a stop over hotel it was ok.

I have stayed here often. Love this hotel, its in the centre of weybridge near shops, restaurants etc. The hotel has clean well equipped rooms and helpful staff. I always have a great nights sleep here as the beds are very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

I would never recommend this hotel for anyone to have their wedding here. We stayed 2 nights for a wedding with our 3 kids. The hotel was run down and lacked basic maintenance. Our hotel door was broken and was against fire safety regulations. Lights didn't work properly. Cleanliness of the hotel was lacking and we were told it was due to lack of staff resources. There is one tiny lift and about 7-8 flight of stairs to get to the second floor. Everywhere you went was hot with no respite at all. The staff were the worst and lacked basic customer service skills. I felt so sorry for the bride and groom who kept getting told it's not our fault we can't help you. Bar staff lacked basic bar tending skills and couldn't even pour a simple lime and soda properly. There was no children's food menu and the food that did arrive was not worth the cost. Freshly baked pizza definitely not. I will not be visiting again and recommend anyone thinking of staying here or having a wedding here to think again.

Pretty good overall, stayed for one night in a large 2nd floor room. Staff helpful, breakfast good, easy parking. Our room was a bit tired but the large bed was comfortable and a good night's sleep was had.

Can't say enough about the great staff at this solid three star hotel. I have stayed here before when in town for business and I can clearly see improvements in several areas including food and room decor. The staff is first rate, very nice and attentive. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We were there for 4 nights and were told that our room would not be serviced while we were there. That seemed fair enough at first until we went to breakfast to see an uncovered buffet and unmasked waiters. We were told that we could ask for towels each day and we did as our bathroom was so damp they did not dry. The floor of the wet room had a puddle that just got bigger and bigger as the drain seemed to be blocked. The shower was a dribble only. The bathroom extractor fan was turned off - the switch was out of reach but staff quickly fixed that. But it still smelt damp . No aircon up in the attic and everywhere looked very tired. And an disabled access room on the second floor!

On the whole my stay was comfortable and i had a spacious room, the decor is a little old and it was lacking things like plug sockets next to the bed (which is standard these days). The A/C wasn't working very well and the hotel is generally very warm - i had to open the window at night. There were a few niggling items which i felt were unnecessary like; the H&C taps connected the wrong way or the lighting in the bathroom was very yellow - easy fixes, but the hotel has unique rooms and character, unlike many more modern ones and is centrally located with plenty of amenities around. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy, food was of a good quality, both breakfast and dinner (although there are many other restaurants around). I stayed for business purposes but this is not solely a business hotel. Free on-site parking.

Have stayed at this hotel before. Standard hasn't declined but walk to room was a bit too far for my wife who is partly disabled. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was nice and food was hot. Would be happy to stay here again .

The satff from start to finish were exceĺlent , very helpful and always available, serving impliments for breakfast need changing, serving fried eggs off of a plate with a cake slice is near impossible and very messy, none of my company managed to get one egg onto a a plate in tact, draft drinks at bar was very poor and expensive, no real choice at all, but a good restfull stay, rooms clean and beds were comfortable.

After struggling to find and access the car park, (had to call the property to ask) we made our way to reception through the courtyard and bar area. We queued for reception while guests in front of us were given instructions on dinner, breakfast and check out. We had already pre registered, as reception staff had just gone through his chat with the customers in front his comment of you were probably listening so I won't go through it again was not in the spirit of customer service. The room was ok, stayed in better and worse. Went to dinner, there was a limited option, we didn't want to go out so decided on something in the bar. The food was luke warm apart from the chips and I would have to guess they were the only things cooked fresh! We were travelling home from a wedding so we're tired from a busy few days, wanted an early night before completing our journey home and had pre booked this property. At about 7pm the noise from a function in the property started, it was ok at first, probably because we were not trying to sleep. At about 9pm it was unbearable, we tried closing the windows in our room, they didn't shut fully unfortunately, we also tried shutting the extra glazing. Nothing worked, the noise from the function was horrendous. Gave up with sleeping, decided that listening to the thumping of the base music, people whistling (at the level only dogs should hear) and shouting was nothing less than torture. The ONLY good thing is that it seemed to quieten at about 11ish. I would suggest if you have a function like this and paying guests who are not part of this, you allocate them rooms away from the courtyard. In the morning, reception did not greet us as we left, poor service. In fact, didn't even look at us, Would not return!

Very friendly staff. Clean room, good breakfast, great position. Secure parking available bus stop out side takes you to Hampton Court Palace one way and Broocklands museum the other. Would go there again. Highly recommend it.

I booked a standard family room for the night to take my daughter and her friend to Thorpe Park the next day. The standard family room shows as being one double bed and two single beds, this was confirmed on the hotel confirmation I received. When I checked into the hotel and entered the room I was shocked to see we actually had a double bed and a single put you up/camp bed, the type that folds in half and secures with a clip when not in use. I immediately went back to reception and asked to be put into the room we had booked only to be told this was impossible as the hotel was full. I explained the girls weren't comfortable either sharing a bed together nor with my daughter sharing with me (rather embarrassing for a 12yo in front of a friend hence why I booked the room I did). The staff member just chuckled and said oh dear then carried on with the paperwork he was doing when I got there. Eventually the girls slept in the double bed and I laid on the put you up. I say lay rather than sleep as it was so uncomfortable I didn't sleep most of the night and ended up in pain from a sore back the next day which made walking around a theme park painful to say the least. I also found myself nearly falling asleep driving home because I'd hardly slept the night before. The hotel itself was really nice and I would happily of given a very different review if this issue hadn't of happened or had been dealt with at the time. The double room we got was also cheaper than the family room I paid for but as I had prepaid there's nothing I could do about payment either.

pretty good hotel, large room, well decorated but with a carpet that could have done with renewing, pleasant people on the reception on arrival and late at night when coming back from the pub, good parking facilities and this place is much bigger than you might think, would I stay again? yes without hesitation,

Booked as near to Hampton court . Reception staff were friendly . However we were booked in online and were offered a free upgrade . This was not mentioned on arrival and never came to fruition Room was comfortable for a 1 night stay . There was only 1 glass and 1 chair by the table so we had to gind a 2nd glass and move the low chair .just seemed strange .. Breakfast was basic but freshly cooked with vegetarian sausages an option . We wete not told what else apart from full english was available so glad only staying 1 night . Would have asked if had a 2nd day there . Only main criticism is food , dishes ,glasses were left outside rooms waiting to be cleared away At 930 am last nights fish chops and peas was still sitting outside a room in our corridor . Not the most pleasant site and ideal for flies to gather ! Vonsidering the area we were happy with the price paid . Much cheaper to go direct than through a booking agent . It is ideal as a base for visiting London attractions .

I booked a 2 night stay at this hotel that was meant to have been starting tonight so I could take my 2 young daughters to chessington for a lovely summer holiday treat - unfortunately I got rushed into hospital 3 days ago to have an emergency operation to have my appendix removed, obviously I'm at home recovering and could not walk around a theme park this week. I rung the hotel to explain what had happened & to ask if I could please move my booking on a week so I could recover from my surgery. I was told point blank absolutely no chance- the lady called. Holly said ‘ If we did this for everyone - we would be giving money back to everyone??' I didn't want any money back I just wanted to move my booking on a week. They have shown no empathy for my situation & not only have I had to deal with being extremely unwell I've had 2 very upset daughters to console.

Bar and restaurant service awful. Check in staff unhelpful. I had to call from my phone to get someone to come to the reception. Wasn't told there was a code to get out of car and there was a queue to get out. The other drivers didn't know code either. No staff around to ask. Hotel like a ghost town with no staff in bar or reception. Room service food arrived without a food cover. I don't know what would have happened if the member of staff needed to sneeze or cough. Revolting.

Stayed here on business the night of the 29th July a really convenient hotel to where I was working. The gentleman who checked me in was friendly and very efficient. I booked an exec room and was allocated room 205 on the second floor which was a lovely spacious room but looked extremely tired and the furniture was very outdated such a shame as the room has so much potential. It could be soo lovely. The bathroom was ok however parts of the bath was cracked and the toilet seat loose. There was a stain on the red bed runner at the bottom of the bed so I pulled it straight off the bed. Apart from that the pillows bed linen duvet etc were very clean and I managed to have a good nights sleep. I ordered room service of flamed burger and chips which I have to say was not the nicest and the food was not covered when it was brought up to the room. Sorry but it should be covered when being delivered to a room!! This was off putting! The hotel has a lovely little covered Court yard where you can sit and have a drink however it didn't seem to get cleaned very much as there were ciggie ends all over the floor full ashtrays and dirty tables . I mean people do need to learn that they belong in an ashtray and not on the floor there are adequate around so no excuse!! However, still needs a damn good clean up!! I noticed the corridors in the hotel also could do with updating and many a window in the corridors had cobwebs on not really an excuse for this. Would I stay again???…. Yes but only for a one night quick stay if I need to be in the area again Just wish they would give this hotel the attention it needs as it could be amazing!!

Contrary to some earlier reviews we found the hotel clean, smart and with modern comfortable rooms. Yes it does not have aircon which is an issue (only) in a heatwave but it makes no claim to have this facility and fans were provided. Staff friendly and good quality breakfast served promptly on each day. Did not try the restaurant as was not open on Sunday evening but there is a Pizza Express immediately opposite. Great base for exploring - 30 min direct train to Waterloo - 10 mins from Hampton Court and Thorpe Park. Free safe parking.

Good car park. No extra charge. Friendly receptionist on arrival. Executive room spacious, clean and smart on the 2nd floor. Very hot as there was a heatwave. Fan already supplied in room. Breakfast area was in the restaurant . Good quality and hot. Morning waiter obviously having a bad day and let it show unnecessarily. Very good value price for the area.

We had an event at the hotel and they were really good towards us, we had some issues with rooms being hot and objects not working in room. However the breakfast and bar area were fantastic and our event was incredible and would recommend the hotel.

When I arrived, I was sent to a room which had not been cleaned or bed changed and made. On reporting this to reception I was moved to another room which was fine. I asked if I could have breakfast in my room the next morning (it said on the info sheet I was given that I could but not how to arrange it) I was told by the receptionist that I could, simply ring down when I wanted it. The following morning I did just that and was informed that room service was not available, only the buffet. I did not want a buffet breakfast, I prefer to eat breakfast alone. So I had no breakfast at all. When I left no one asked if I enjoyed my stay or seemed in the least bothered, they just took my keycard. Very, very poor level of service overall!

As soon as we walked into the hotel I noticed how tired and run down it looked. The carpet was threadbare in places and the paintwork dirty. On checking in at reception the staff were pleasant and friendly - we were told that we had been upgraded!! The 'upgraded' room was like a 1970's seaside B&B!! Again, carpet was threadbare and the paintwork dirty. In the bathroom there was mould in the tiles and the toilet seat was broken. However the bed and bedding looked comfortable and clean. I'm now wondering what our room would have been like had we not been upgraded?!?! We advised the staff on reception that or toilet seat was broken and they allocated us a different room stating that we were now being given a 'Club Room' This room was large and clean but was in need of a complete revamp. The bath panel was coming away from the bath and there was mould in between the tiles. The carpet had seen better days and the whole vibe was just tired. It all needed freshening up. The room was very warm but a fan was provided. Breakfast the next morning was average but the staff were pleasant. The breakfast room was he same as the rest of the hotel, very tired and in need of renovation. The breakfast serving area had cupboard doors literally hanging off! Its such a shames the staff were all quite pleasant and helpful but even at £99 B&B the quality of the hotel itself was a let down. The whole properly is in desperate need of some TLC

The decor is outdated. The hotel really needs a makeover. The staff were friendly on arrival. Was given the room key and hotel information in an envelope. My room, which was was nice lacked a desk lamp for late-night working. The room itself was very hot, no air con or no fans available which I have seen at other hotels. The room was quite far from reception. It felt like I was walking for ages. Breakfast was good, it didn't come with toast so I asked for bread and was brought a slice of bread and not toast. That's on me. I would stay here again. Sleep quality was good.

Stayed for one night. Bed was comfy, both the room and bathroom were clean. Only problem was that the water pressure in the shower was very weak. Room was well equipped with tea/coffee, an iron etc. There was also air con which we were grateful for (and it wasn't too loud). Staff on reception and at breakfast were very helpful, friendly and polite. We pre-ordered our breakfast the night before and it was with us within 5 minutes of sitting at the table. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Good sized rooms and attentive friendly staff. The hotel is looking a bit tired. There are out of date notices displayed, one celebrating the arrival of a new menu in Spring 2017! The hotel info handouts we were given were creased and messy which about sums up the attention to detail here. Having said that the place is comfortable and close to places to eat and drink and handy for visiting the surrounding area. the breakfast though tasty was very poor value. There is free parking too. Our room on the second floor was too hot in summer even with the windows wide open and the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. Apart from that the hotel has everything you need for a reasonable stay.

Eat outside of the hotel and avoid the bar area unless you miss a sticky nightclub floor. Basic rooms, ours needed updating but images of the ones that had looked good. Location good for food and handy car park on site.

We booked for one night. The hotel check-in was seamless. The room was very comfortable and larger than many. The whole place was spotless. The breakfast was good but could have been a little warmer. I would definitely stay again.

I stayed here for 1 night while working for a software company in Walton-on-Thames. It was a wonderful stay and I'm glad I chose this hotel. The hotel has a true air of Southern England and a delightful ship theme to the paintings in the corridors. In the evening the bar provided a safe atmosphere and the breakfast room was also really nice. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helped me with the local bus timetable.

Was told we were booking in to early on the day ! I thought by having the gold card this was one of the privileges. No upgrade was offered as they were fully booked even though only 10 tables laid for breakfast why lie? This is disappointedly an old tired hotel. Very 70's/80's. Bits are battered and worn. Very badly worn out carpets. Some must be a health and safety issue. No business centre it was closed. The receptionist used excuses of covid. Fine if that is the case why doesn't the hotel tell you this rather than sending emails prior to the stay trying to get me to upgrade, the hotel should and could have laid out all the changes due to covid. Don't reply using covid as the excuse. Provide customer service by telling customers in advance. No gold members welcome pack, gold, silver members are supposed to be given a welcome pack. We didn't even get a smile. Again don't reply stating covid issues. Advise in advance of arrival. Cleaner not in on Tuesday, therefore no clean. Yet no discount. Don't reply blaming covid. Advise in advance. A really charming and helpful Polish (I think) gentleman works very hard at breakfast, yet the toast he is given to serve is freezing. No fridge in rooms. Do not blame covid, advise in advance. I tried an experiment there was a sticker and rubbish on the floor and this was not cleaned or picked up for two days. I know staff had walked over it and clearly ignored it. Remember there are plenty of other hotels in the area. This is a white van man magnet hotel. They seem to appear from no where and clog the car park up, taking two spaces. Hence it is hard to park in the hotel. Overall a below average stay. There are lots of other hotels in the area , check them out first.

I cannot comment on rooms and staying overnight, as I met a friend for afternoon tea at the hotel. We picked the hotel because I am familiar with the hotel. My husband and I have had lunch there in the past. (Which was nice, by the way ). I thought it might be nice and "safe" place to meet up, as it has a conservatory near the bar area. Our server (Gunars ) is a really nice man. He made us two pots of tea and was extremely pleasant, asking us later if we were doing okay. . The tea was piping hot and we were happy with the fact that he respected social distancing. It is a very nice open conservatory - the only downside is that the carpet needs replacing. It lets the whole room look tired, when it is only the carpet that looks grim. Thanks again to our very nice server, Gunars

I have booked to come and stay at the ship hotel to visit friends who live in weybridge next weekend. Unfortunately, due to the government guidelines, self isolation and the rule of 6 this meeting has had to be postponed and so I have tried to change the date of my booking. I missed the 1 week notice deadline by 12 hours unfortunately and I have been told by the hotel that I am not allowed to change the dates even. I feel that in times like this where everything is up in the air and Covid isn't going away, hotels should be understanding of people's positions. Especially if it is just rearranging the date. I was happy to pay the extra cost for a different date. My friend has raved about the ship hotel and has been a recommendation to any of us travelling to come and visit and am disappointed that the staff were very abrupt and do not care at all. I will be finding another hotel to stay in for the future and would advise anyone booking that regardless of situation, the terms will not be changed. I have had to do this with a few hotels over the past few months who have been fully understanding and have been happy to do whatever they can to rearrange. A reflection on the staff and service.

We stayed for 1 night at the Best Western. The hotel was vey quiet only about 6 cars in the car park. Using the stairs there were regularly small bits of debris that had not been hoovered up, everything looked very tired. Our room was on the 2nd floor and it was baking hot in this area of the hotel, but there was a fan which offered a little relief. The carpet had a hole in it, there were again noticeable pieces of food on the floor, not lots, but noticeable crumbs. Splatters of liquid down one side of the bed and a small piece of food crumb stuck on the chair. The hotel did respond to re-hoover and bring more towels and an extra cup. However the food crumb and splatters were not cleaned. We found some small pieces of bacon, hair and a corner of a wrapper in the side of the chair. I was not able to resolve the matter on departure as the manager was not available. I missed his call but was not able to make contact and decided to return to the hotel to be offered a discount off another stay rather than a refund. Which was very disappointing, I have called customer services who have been very helpful. I felt that the cleaning standard at the hotel was poor overall, there was a lack of an apology and at this time it is so important for the cleaning to be high. The hotel suggest they are deep cleaning between guests and I could not see evidence of this. A tired but clean hotel would have been ok, but both was not acceptable.

Overall great experience, hotel staff made us feel at home and for that I'm extra grateful! Once the upper floor gets refurbished will be even better. One request: soundproofing! Thanks for looking after us! I.P.

I unfortunately stayed here on the 2/12/2019 and I can honestly say it was one of the worst stays I have ever encountered. Pigeons outside my window and serious health and safety issues. I burnt my shoulder on the desk lamp and the shower door was broken so water spilled out from the shower and I actually slipped getting out. Furthermore I left my lounge set in the drawers and apparently “the cleaners could not find”. I was also accidentally charged twice by accident as I booked via bookings.com! Due to the sheer lack of communication I had to contact Best Western directly. Adam at customer service has been fantastic and made sure I was given a full refund but he could only do so much as it had to be dealt with in-house. Unfortunately quite the opposite at The Ship. I have still heard nothing back from the manager. Initially when I made my complaint I was offered a room at “a discount price”. I have been told I must email them with my complaint even though I have actually gone into the hotel five times to try and discuss my awful experience. I can honestly say I have never experienced such lack of customer service. It is disgusting and has also been rather traumatic as I feel that had I been with a partner I would have been treated with far more respect. I am still waiting on some sort of communication from the manager to this day. Please avoid this hotel.

I stay at The Ship semi regularly on business and I have mixed feelings. The positives: The location is great. Right on the high street so you can walk to a variety of bars and restaurants if you don't want to dine in the hotel. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful. The bad bits: Over the past 6 months I have fed back some faults in some of the rooms I've stayed in, yet to date these maintenance issues have still to be fixed. The bed in room 307 has been broken for over 6 months. The legs are broken in the centre on 1 side. Therefore you sleep at an odd angle of having your head and feet raised which causes a bad back, combined with the whole bed sloping to one side. The cleanliness needs some addressing. When I'm paying £140 for a room (only) the dubious stains on the bed when you check in are not that welcome. When I stayed this week and failed to manage to sleep due to the broken bed, it also became apparent that they switch the central heating off at night. The room was warm and toasty when I got in but then dropped to Baltic through the night. I guess this is a cost saving measure.

Best Western hotel, long corridors, big room, everything was there, the bathroom could have been cleaner. Adequate parking. room was quiet. In the town centre and 8 minutes from the Brooklands Museum.Didn't eat in the hotel.

Nice comfortable hotel. Decor a bit dated in places. Some carpets in hall a bit threadbare. Food delicious, with hot plates! and good service from friendly staff. Room good size and very clean. Can recommend the lamb kofta dish.

The Ship was the venue for 70+ visitors to our wedding reception in late November 2019. Our visitors included about 20 from Germany, among them restaurant professionals and architects who know about these matters. Many stayed overnight before and after the event. Everyone praised the quality of the catering, the atmosphere, smooth running of the event and hospitality of all of the staff. Special mention to Holly Buckler, our event organiser and Paul, the duty manager on the day, who both anticipated matters we had not thought of and addressed them efficiently and without fuss, so we did not have to worry about anything we had not considered. We and our guests all went away very happy. The venue is well arranged for this type of event and the staff clearly are experienced and know how to run such an event. 10 out of 10.

Have stayed here before due to its location price and friendly staff. We use this hotel whilst visiting relatives. Had a couple issues whilst staying here, firstly only one cup in the room , my wife rang reception to request this and it duly arrived. We were staying in a room with a disabled bathroom and during the very early hours of the morning the red pull cord seemed to activate itself without us touching it, slight inconvenience. At breakfast some of the orders were wrong or lacking items ordered, hence on this occasion I have only given a 4! However we would still stay here again.

Booked very last minute (day before.) Check in was very quick and easy. The room was a double standard and had plenty of space and was clean. The bed was comfy and the towels were soft. Good T.V and lovely tea and coffee selection. Great location to Weybridge town centre. £66.50 for 1 night with no breakfast. Great simple easy stay!

The staff worked really hard to make sure that we all enjoyed our evening. They were all polite and friendly and smiley. Regrettably they were let down by the food that had been thrown on a plate and microwaved to death. It looked fairly unappetising and didn't taste much better. The Christmas pud was the size of a Garibaldi biscuit and decorated with a sole blackberry. On the positive side the DJ was good and we all had a fantastic time.

Really nice hotel well situated in the centre of Weybridge with great and very helpful staff. London is not far away, about a 40 mn on the train but Weybrige itself is very nice with great walks along the Thames and the Wey. I hope to return in the spring to do some forest walks.

We return once a year . The club rooms overlooking Monument Green are especially charming and comfortable. The rooms in the newer wing are comfortable and well appointed too. Desk staff is friendly and helpful. Location is within easy walking distance of good restaurants, shops and beautiful walks by the river

Hotel is in a great location in Weybridge with all shops, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Very helpful at check-in. Some of the corridors look a little tired but the rooms are modern and clean. Food in the bar was good. Only minor compliant was the poor shower water pressure.

We booked a night in the hotel because of the location. Mistake oh yes there was a wedding on the following day so we go to dinner to be told you cant eat in the restaurant because the wedding party takes priority,(not told this when booked the meal and breakfast). Speaking to the manager he just was not interested in the issue and said sorry the bar or nothing. The food when we got it was nice the hotel was dated but pleasent. BUT - The staff and management with the exception of 1 barman (Nik) was horrendous. Will we ever go back to the hotel NO will we go to another Best Western I doubt that as well with the treatment we got in this hotel

After an excellent stay last year booked The Ship Hotel again this year deciding to stay 2 nights this time, visiting Hampton Court and Brooklands Museum. Every thing went smoothly from checking in to checking out. The breakfast is excellent- I don't think I have better anywhere else! The bar meal I had on arrival was also first class. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet despite being close to Heathrow. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend The Ship Hotel and will stay there again when in the Weybridge area.

A very clean and tidy hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very convenient for us to other members of our family. It is good value for money. Also gives easy access to central London by train and other attractions.

Nice hotel but you have to call them if you return after 11 p.m. meaning you get very wet if it is raining. Television had lots of channels but not ITV, Channel 4 or Channel 5 so no chance to watch the rugby.

We stayed there 1 night, the room was very comfortable and clean. Reception was very friendly and breakfast was very good being cooked on order. There was also a good choice for continental breakfast.

Very disappointing gluten free afternoon cream tea, the bread had been allowed to dry out so very unappetising, the fillings seemed ok but have had 24hrs of stomach problems! The scone was grey and felt dry and hard so didn't bother trying. The chocolate brownie was edible! Our local small coffee house has learnt the art of cooking gluten free, best western has a lot to learn.

Ideal location on Weybridge High Street for visiting local sites. I was there for a wedding. Large, clean room with all normal amenities - tv, coffee, tea making and toiletries. The wedding venue was superb and food excellent for mass catering, both for the afternoon wedding breakfast and evening snacks. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning had a very wide selection to choose from.

We found that this hotel was very suitable for attending sporting events, hotel was good value with parking also available, adjoining restaurant and bar service good value and situated in a very nice location, plenty of other resuarants near by

I've stayed here a few times now. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the services offered are numerous. :) good breakfast (cereals, pastries, choice of cooked or porridge to order, fruit); I chose a veggie breakfast (eggs, baked beans, mushrooms) and was kindly offered veggie sausages as well; a/c in room; comfortable bed :( a/c unit in room was not installed in the best position - it was on top of the wardrobe so blew down onto the wardrobe and didn't help with the temperature of the room much. Still it did something; some carpets upstairs grubby - could do with a deep clean or complete replacement

We stayed for 3 nights in Room 214. I chose the hotel mainly for its location and especailly that Google maps appreared to show a large car park. The hotel has 76 rooms and there are 50 good sized and easy to park in car spaces so you are likely to get a space. We left the car there for 2 days while we did hampton Court and Kew gardens (easy reach on the train - station is 15 mins walk or a 3 minute bus ride from outside the hotel). Welcome was friendly, lift to the second floor followed by a long and winding corridor. Room spacious and well presented. Clean and with nice touches of biscuits and bottled water (replaced each day). Bathroom spacious and very clean with proper and fluffy bath sheets (not an abrasive mini-towel!); excellent shower; complimentary shampoo and soap. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space and 2 chairs. Decent sized TV and coffee/tea/chocolate with the kettle and china mugs and real glasses (not paper cups). Due to the restricted window opening the room was warm in the recent hot weather but a quiet and efficient 3 speed fan was provided which enabled us to sleep OK. Our room was also quiet. no disturbances while we were there. Didn't go in the restaurant as ate out each night but menu looked fine. All told an excellent base for the area, especially the free car parking and very comfortable room.at a very reasonable price.

We had our wedding reception here at the end of July and we couldn't fault a thing it was the most perfect day, the staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for us and the food was exceptional all our guests commented on how lovely it was. We would highly recommend. Thank you for making our day so special.

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last year and this is the first negative feedback, I have to post. On this occasion, housekeeping have let the hotel down. Our room appeared not to have been hovered properly and the bedside table and lamp were covered in dust. Staff as usual, friendly, efficient and welcoming,they asked us to post honestly. I don't know of many hotels that would have done that. We will be staying again soon.

Hotel located in the heart of Weybridge. Parking onsite is free which is great. Reception staff friendly upon arrival. I had a single room which was very clean and a good size. Room was modern and looked as if it was recently decorated. Large tv mounted in wall. Selection of tea / coffee / bottles of water and biscuits. Many sockets including usb charging points. Highly recommend.

Stayed here while visiting my mother in hospital. I've been up and down to Surrey for ages and very pleased to have found such a pleasant place to stay, the last ones I've stayed in have been soulless. Room was clean and well appointed, the food was really excellent and the breakfast very good indeed, competing well with much pricier hotels. So nice to have drinks brought to you and breakfast cooked to order. Civilised. Staff were friendly, car park was useful. Bearing in mind that my reason for staying was rather sad, I'm grateful to have a homely place to return to again , will be booking again soon.

The Ship is a really lovely hotel. The staff are welcoming and the rooms are spacious with good amenities. The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and the dining room looked lovely although we did not take breakfast this time. Whilst we were there the pipes were being cleaned so we had no water from taps for at least 12 hours, this was really quite inconvenient but I spoke to reception and they were very accommodating and reduced my room rate for that night.

Check in was quick, all staff we spoke to were very professional and polite. Our room was large (I think we were given an accessible room) & very clean. Unfortunately the sleep quality was very poor due to how warm our room was, neither my wife or I managed to get any sleep. They have put a very small desk fan into the room which is of no use in cooling the room. The window in the room only opened an inch r two so we couldn't get any breeze into the room. To be clear it was only mid 20's at the hottest point on the day we stayed. I would not stay here again until they install air conditioning whicj is a shame as everything else about the hotel was fine but at the end of the day you have to be able to sleep!

We were staying as a group of six in another hotel in Weybridge but as they were hosting a wedding they hadn't room for us to dine there. We were fortunate that The Ship could accommodate us for our meal. On our arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome from both the young waitress and the restaurant manager. In fact all those who attended to us that evening were very courteous and friendly. we were a little concerned as apart from us there was only one other group of four dining that evening. We need not have worried as the standard of food presented for what was a reasonable cost, was very hot, tasty and well presented. The waitress informed us that the new season menu was now being served and had only been introduced two days before. There was a good choice, we sampled the duck, chicken, lamb kofta, curry of the day and salmon, all were very well received. We would definitely recommend a visit. The experience was a pleasant one.

I stayed at The Ship Hotel on the 22nd July, just when the heat wave hit the UK. So after a long drive from Cheshire I started the check in process in the hope of a decent shower and some air conditioning in room to keep me cool through out the night. The guy on check in told me that the room I was being allocated had a small portable fan, I was shocked in 2019 you expect all hotels to have air conditioning. So I ask did any of the rooms have air con and he said yes just not the one I was being given. So after telling him I wouldn't accept a room without air con and I would change hotel if I was stuck with the fan, amazingly the room was changed. Upon entering the room, it was small, the one little window looked out over the roof and had no view of anything at all. Room was reasonably clean and acceptable for one night. I unpacked, then went to the bar to eat a quick dinner. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. So nothing to complain about there. Upon returning to the room I decided to shower before sleeping, water wasn't hot, just warm which okay, although water temperatures was identical the next morning so clearly this room has a bit of an issue. So now I was clean, I was looking forward with trepidation to my breakfast being delivered by room service. When It came I was initially pleased, my order was complete. Croissant, butter, jam, cornflakes and milk, coffee, didn't come with warm milk but i didn't mind that. What I did find odd was that the breakfast didn't come with any cutlery. So I raided the tea and coffee making station and used a teaspoon. I did tell reception as I checked out and they just laughed and said we will have a word. Checkout was smooth and easy So if your on a budget stay here, it's cheap and comfortable for one night. If you intend to stay longer, pick another hotel

I planned my travel over a two night stay and upon arriving early hours I was greeted by the night porter. Trying to check in he explained I hadn't booked for the night and that I had accidentally booked for the following night. Stressed and concerned about where I was going to stay as he did not have facilities to book I began to panic. He helped me remain calm and I managed to contact my agency, who booked me in for the night. He then checked me in to the room I was due to stay in so i didn't have to unpack and pack again just to move rooms. What could have turned in to a disaster actually turned it ok in the end praise to God! Despite not being able to physically do much he showed empathy and compassion which goes a lot further than just results!

The company I work for has a large office locally so The Ship is one of the three local hotels on the proffered list so I have stayed here many nights over the past year as some of my roughly 60+ hotel nights away and I have normally found the stay to be "OK". However this time I was not so lucky. I stayed for 2 nights and booked an executive room as I had realised that these rooms have air conditioning which I wanted this time of year. On check in to my room I noticed the bed was leaning to one side, and also had a large dip in the middle. On checking I noticed two of the supporting legs had sent over so lifted the bed and repaired the legs myself to make the bed even remotely usable. In the morning when I tried to shower, there was plenty of water from the bath taps, but as soon as you pulled the stopper up to set the shower going, nothing!!!! no water at all so a quick wash from the tap it was to be..... I reported this to reception as I left for the day and was assured it would be repaired. On return in the evening I tried to shower and was greeted with what I assume was a repaired shower.... a slight dribble of water which if you stood with the taps in your shins and pressed yourself against the tiles you could just about have a wash. By the morning however it was back to the first day's experience of zero water from the shower. On check out a very friendly and apologetic receptionist listened to my comments and displeasure and after taking my contact details assured the manager would be in touch later that day. So far I have heard nothing which I take to be a measure of just how much the local management team care about their guests experience. At the moment I am due to stay again next month but suspect I won't be only person in the company planning to give The Ship a wide berth

I've probably stayed at this hotel for business travel at least 10 times it's conveniently located nearby food and shopping and rooms are a good size and generally comfortable. During summer it's far to hot with no A/C in the majority of rooms which makes it almost impossible to sleep or just sit and relax. Main issue is very bad noise proofing and slamming doors literally shaking the room if some socially ignorant guest doesn't care ..I was woken pretty much every night for my last stay.. Management fix the door mechanisms !! I'm afraid you've lost my business now there are a better budget options in area now.

Well located hotel. This is our second stay here. Staff very friendly and helpful. We ate from the bar menu this time and the food was excellent. Room clean and comfortable. Overall very pleased with our stay we shall definitely return.

I am a pilot and together with a fellow pilot we stayed one night here having landed at Fairoaks airport. Taxi via Boomerang taxis from I think Woking took us from Fairoaks to the hotel to drop off our bags and then to the Brooklands museum, price £35. The same taxi came back for us and took us from the museum back to the hotel, £20, all fairly reasonable. The next morning we needed to get back to Fairoaks and used the direct line in reception to call a local taxi firm called according to the hotel Ace Cars based in Weybridge. We failed to get a quote, but upon arrival at the airport the driver said it was £40, when we complained he said we could ring the office, we had no time for that and left it. I have since made enquiries and got a quote from Ace for the same trip, £25. When asked why the difference I got some excuse about the computer getting the postcodes wrong! THE WARNING IS GET A QUOTE BEFORE YOU COMMIT ON THIS DIRECT LINE TO ACE CARS. I have informed the reception manager of this problem who promised to put a sign up. The hotel was fine, staff very friendly, we had evening meal and breakfast both good. My room was very hot with no aircon, my fellow pilot had a room at the front of the hotel which did have aircon.

I spent a full week on a business stay in the Weybridge area. The hotel was nicely located for walking to a variety of restaurants, easy access to cabs, and other hotels where co-workers were rooming. The hotel bar was quiet and convenient with a reasonably priced menu and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was sparse, but they do offer a full menu. Nice, clean, and quiet (except on trash pickup day in the alley below.)

This hotel is a delight from the moment we arrived to when we left 4 days later. The greeting at reception on check in was fast, efficient with a smiley face and nothing too much trouble. As one walked around the hotel, the staff never failed to be cheery, welcoming and lifting ones spirits to a new level of what one usually expects from staff at hotels. All the staff at the Best Western in Weybridge could not do enough from Breakfast in the dining room which was a most pleasant start to the day, to the last bid of farewell on our way back to Spain. We have never experienced such dedication at any of the hotels that we have stayed in worldwide and that includes, Leading Hotels of the World. They should take a leaf out of the book of The Best Western Ship Hotel in Weybridge and they too might go the distance of total satisfaction from guests on departure. All our dining experiences at the hotel were great. We would highly recommend the restaurant and I could imagine any special occasion to be an excellent venue at The Best Western Ship Hotel. Good service is seldom seen in UK's many hotel chains so is worth mentioning when it happens! The Ship in Weybridge is very worthy of this accolade. Service in all areas of hotel genuine and caring - staff engage with you rather than reeling off text book generic greetings or answers. Refreshing.

Our 3rd visit to the Ship, when going to Races( Kempton Sandown and Ascot) Booked 6 rooms, which were all ready early, which was great! Had everything you could need on a short break, iron, alarm clock, hair dryer, toiletries etc was clean and well presented..only criticism was the room was very warm... top floor .. small windows. Had a meal in restaurant, booked table as a large party but only one other table so wasn't really necessary. Waiters helpful and friendly, food was enjoyed by everyone but didn't offer dessert and when we asked the kitchen was closed and chef gone home? Bit disappointing..So finished with coffees, mints and shortbread biscuits. Would use again when in area.

From checking in to breakfast and bar service - brilliant at every point - happy to listen to any comments and to accommodate needs as required. Fan provided in room which was essential as was a hot weekend. Staff worked hard but didn't seem to be under pressure so very relaxed - very well run hotel.

The location is great, parking is very convenient. The front desk staff is nice enough and helpful. However, the last night was nightmare, the insulation between rooms is horrible. I can hear they are talking and making xxx noisy in the early morning.

It was the right hotel in the correct place and within range of both of the major airports. Plenty of parking well out of the way. I have a loyalty card for BW, although had missed out on points by not booking direct, so hope it was fixed this time. Generally good value, nice and comfortable. Minor issue at breakfast about pre-payment, which was one of those things …… little did they know I would have just headed to airfield instead and firmly complained later.

Absolutely fabulous. Parking is available, and free of charge for customers. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend the Ship Hotel, restaurant and bar. Many thanks.

I only booked the hotel at the beginning of the week, of our trip but remembered it, having grown up in the area. We were met by friendly, helpful staff, who checked us in and showed us to the hotel lift, whilst explaining where to find our room. The biggest bed I have ever had in a hotel.. There were a couple of small areas in the bathroom that need a bit of attention but that seems to be common in many hotels and it's not anything that spoilt out stay. We were able to book our taxi at the reception via a direct line. The taxi service was prompt and reasonably priced. I had the best nights sleep I'd had in a long time, as did my husband.. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice.. All the staff we met were both helpful and friendly.. We will be going back, next time we are in the area.

This is a reasonable mid range hotel which we have visited in the past. However on this occasion they had allocated us a room on the 3rd floor which is not serviced by the lift, and no one informed us even on check in , even though we are both senior + citizens. The hotel was fully booked so there was no alternative room. My advice , avoid rooms numbering in the 300 s unless you have very light bags and need climbing exercise.

Have stayed at the hotel most years in the last 10 due to its proximity to Brooklands. Initially allocated room 308 - right at the front so very noisy. Heating ramped up to 11, so absolutely roasting. It's quite a small room too which didn't help. Bath/shower fitting very loose and bathroom blind covered in dust! Phoned down to reception and asked to move. Duty Manager arrived shortly after with a choice of others. Settled on 311. I did show him the faults with 308, he apologised, but didn't seem overly concerned. 311 was quieter- loo roll holder was broken (the broken bit was lying in the corner) and the bag in the waste bin was too small and therefore useless. The code to exit the car park was on a notice at reception marked ‘Barrior code'. These are not massive faults on their own, but they do point to housekeeping staff either not mentioning them (or cleaning the blind) and/or management not keeping on top of things. We didn't drink in the bar as it's very expensive and took breakfast at the excellent Valentina along the street. The shortcomings need to be nipped in the bud a bit sharpish before there are even more.

Our third stay here, always very nice staff, clean rooms and great breakfast. We had a different room from previous visits ( 126 ) and it seemed to overlook an adjoining business and was at times noisy we were both woken in the early hours by the sound of a motorbike. There are some great restaurants nearby.

One night stop in a comfortable room with the expected furnishings including a king size double bed. Did not eat there as we were dining elsewhere there that night and anticipated a big lunch later. Excellent coffee and croissant to keep us going in the morning. Partially covered car park with password secured exit gate. We would stay there again if/when in the area. Good value at £70 for the night for two of us. Breakfast would have been extra.

Excellent accommodation, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. There was a wedding party on the Saturday night so the staff had kindly allocated us a quiet room away from the venue. The whole place is well maintained with a lovely courtyard.

Stayed for one night before horse racing. Room was good (nothing special though) ideal for being near several good restaurants. Breakfast is well worth having. Car park at the hotel, staff very polite.

Really enjoyed our stay here! From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble! Hotel staff were so friendly and happy and our room was very comfortable including the bed. Breakfast was really delicious too. Would highly recommended this place! Downside is bar drinks were a little expensive And the town has very little in the way of decent shops unless you want to eat and get drunk lol!

Booked this hotel as we were going to Sandown Park so booked. For the Friday night and Saturday night. Booked through Expedia for £162 including breakfast for the two of us. Bargain!! Check In was quick and staff were very friendly with a welcoming smile. Room 116 for myself and husband and 118 for my daughter and her boyfriend. Both rooms very spacious with lovely carpeted floor and a huge double bed that even though the pillows were hard I slept well both nights. Great complimentary toiletries and the bath was lovely and deep for a great relaxing soak Hotel bar was perfect with plenty of seating and a great selection of beers. Breakfast was a great selection of cereals/pastries/yogurts etc. Waitress was very friendly and explained the cooked breakfast choices. You can have as much or as less as you want cooked. Selection of juices I loved the hydration juice (rhubarb and zinc). I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be revisiting weather it be a breakaway or a sporting event like twickenham or the races. Thank you for a perfect stay from the Grigg/Pocock family.

The Ship is a rambling hotel, quite quirky. Good sized room, well lit, laminate floor, no carpet, plenty of drawer space ,well decorated and clean but a big hard bed, 2 singles joined together, and terrible pillows, I had two very poor night's sleep. There is no air conditioning, other than opening the window, not so good on a windy night. The shower over the bath was vet poor, only delivered just warm water in a weak flow, partly through the leaks from the joint at shower head. The disabled assistance bars next to the toilet are stuck to wall with soviet style mismatching bolts. No wash cloth supplied and the towels are at other side of wide bathroom, nowhere to put them more convenient for stepping out of shower. The cool water was reported and it was somewhat better the next morning, though no offer of compensation was made. There is an emergency call switch just next to light switch, very poor positioning. I managed to set this off and luckily had spotted where the re set button was in bathroom the night before. There are twin toilet roll holders hanging off wall at the same jaunty angle Breakfast is a mixture of help yourself buffet and a table service for the cooked food. £100 per night shouldn't raise expectations too high, “we're not the Ritz” as the receptionist said to me.

I really didn't enjoy the place. The hotel is very outdated with strange setup of The halls that brings to The rooms. It was during the heat wave and there was no air conditioning but just an old fan in the room. Couldn't slip well at all

Room fine, location and parking good, wi-fi very good, breakfast okay, but very busy, towels very nice. Paid £12.50 for a taxi (Global - as recommended by the hotel) for a 2.1 mile trip, and £15 on the way back! Total rip-off, suggest you use someone else.

Terrible Nights sleep ask them to look at the mattress as I feel asleep after a 12 flight and was rolled out of the bed by the collapsed mattress. Room was tired curtain torn furniture was from the 70s . On the up side Good wifi and plug points but by you have the TV and and tea tray (which was well stocked) , so little room for a Laptop to work. People were nice friendly and would look after you . Location and parking is good . Nice Bar and Diningroom . Sadly the cold (HOT english breakfast )was dry and cold poached eggs were great.

Nice central venue to meet friends for a drink and catch up on news. Friendly & helpful barman and good drinks at good prices. We'll be back. The venue itself is not large and therefore there is not too much noise so conversations can take place in comfort.

Clean, comfortable rooms, quiet corridors, good parking, great breakfast, comfortable bar area and excellent location in Weybridge town centre. Pleasant staff made sure check-in and checkout was efficient.

With friends and my husband I visited the Ship Hotel for the New Years celebrations and to see 2019 in. Wow it was so great, everything they had told us was there and more. All the decorations were so good and the tables looked fantastic with crackers, silver top hats for the men and tiars for the ladies then there were streamers and glass beads the tables really looked so professional and we loved them. Then there were the staff, so efficient,polite and they all worked so hard throughout the night, the serving of all courses was just like clockwork we were all so impressed. Now for the food, what can I say must be the finest food I have had cooked on mass and the portions were big and I mean big, and it all tasted delicious. None of us could fault it at all. Now comes the not to hot, the disco. Wasn't always as on par as it could have been and we were all disappointed when it was coming towards midnight wasn't the celebration we wanted and Auld Lang Syne was a shambles not the usual all in together making it so much friendlier. Couldn't have it all. Although the disco was not to hot it certainly did not take away the wonderful work that all the staff at The Ship Hotel had done. 100% credit to all of them and the chefs.

Lovely hotel, based in a small town with a few pubs and restaurants if you want to get out. The restaurant was a good standard in the hotel, the breakfast was ok but powdered scrambled egg let it down, just horrible. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely be back, maybe not for the scrambled egg.

Have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Could not fault the 2 rooms that we had booked, the evening meal with other family members (9 in total) was excellent and the breakfast were excellent also. Overall this place represents excellent value for money, we will definitely stay again when in the area.

I think that Georges Restaurant at this hotel is excellent but was surprised to find it so quiet. Do try it food is so good and staff are lovely. A pleasant place and in a lovely position. Weybridge is such a quaint town

Had a 1 night stay at this hotel it was really nice and quiet and comfortable and location was great would definitely stay here again breakfast was really nice with selection of fresh fruits or full English

I have never had such a terrible experience at a hotel in my entire life. Firstly, I was booked for a double room for which they gave me a single. The single room besides being tiny, was cold, heat didn't work and the furnishing were in less than acceptable condition. Upon complaining to the manager about a sleepless night and requiring a new room, I was downgraded even further into a room that was a closet and the bathrooom in a state of disrepair. But that wasn't the worst. The hotel room, and the entire hotel in fact, was absolutely disgustingly filthly. The table and countertop surfaces showed grime, grease and dirt from previous occupants. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a month. The bathroom.... I found urine stains on the toilet seat when I first arrived. I was scared of getting bed bugs this place was that disgusting. I should also mention having to sit and listen to a manager in the hotel pub getting angry with an employee and saying all kinds of mean things to him, WHILE I WAS SITTING IN PLAIN VIEW! Stay away for your own health. Every manager there should be fired and replaced. I still can't get over that reviewing my reservations and all afterwards that I paid for a double room and was given a single and then downgraded to even worse when I complained.

We spent three nights at this lovely hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a lift which is a huge plus, as is the free parking. It is not a quiet hotel and one can hear other guests coming and going and getting ready to start their day. The breakfast wasn't great and not value for money. Better and cheaper breakfast on offer across the road at Morrisons.The fan in the bathroom does sound like a jet engine but the room was very comfortable. We attended a 50th on our last night and arrived back at the hotel well after midnight to find the front door had been locked, but a quick call to the number provided and we were let in immediately. Great pub with staff that welcome you with huge smiles. Brilliant location in the high street so loads of shops and restaurants right on your doorstep. Lovely village feel. Turn left coming out of the hotel and you can walk down to the River Wey and the Thames and stroll along the tow path to Walton-on-Thames.

the room we were originally given was lovely and comfortable Room 128, although the extractor in the bathroom when the light was put on was like a jet engine starting up!!! this became very relevant when we were. awoken at 06:00am with the room next door having their shower . It was just ridculous! we complained and were told that for fire precautions we couldn't turn it off??? apparently the steam of the shower set fire alarms off??? Frederick a manager then asked if we would like to move rooms and gave me an option of two that were adequate and both had a adequate facilities although a bit less of a standard than our first room. although the extractor fan was as it should have been. so we stayed there. Room 308. I would stay again if I needed a nights stay but not for any length of time room 128 's bed was great a proper King size double but room 308 was a small very old double and the mattress was simply to cheap and we both awoke with achey backs and necks. The staff were overall very friendly and catered for our needs , many thanks to Frederick as he could not have done more.

I was on a business trip in Surrey. Unfortunately WIFI did only work partially and the breakfast was terrible... ( scrambled eggs was cold, toast was way to soft ). Even no chance to watch Champions league football in the bar in the evening.

Very comfortable and clean . Good breakfast and staff were friendly staff and helpful. Ideal location for Brooklands Museum and Mercedes world. Shops and restraints are in walking distance. Great stay.

The hotel is superbly located at the end on the town and has a private barrier controlled covered car park. Although the hotel is a little dated we found the room to be clean and comfortable. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we heard no noise. Breakfast was not included in our rate and at £12 per person it's a little expensive. There was no fruit salad left and our poached eggs were slightly overcooked. However it set us up for the day. The location is great for exploring the area and only a few minutes' walk from a good selection of restaurants. The staff are all very polite and friendly and we enjoyed our stayed.

Noisey doors slamming Found access to shower a bit awkward if you have turned it on before entry, there's no bath mat just a grippy surface in the bath and no hand rail to grab. It's not really a three but it's better than a two.

The hotel is situated on the high street running through Weybridge and is perfectly situated for bars, shops and restaurants. It offers comfortable, affordable rooms alongside it's own restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and good food. Brooklands motor museum and circuit is just around the corner and there is easy access to London and all it has to offer.

every time i visit this hotel the service and staff are always exellent. i had fish and chips in the bar area lovely hot cooked food. great choice of beers and ciders. rooms are always very clean. great for a run by the river thames.

Stayed here for one night with my husband. Check in was easy, there was plenty of parking available in a secure lot. Room seemed to be recently refurbished, it was large, clean and very comfortable. All the usual amenities were included. Good location in Weybridge, 20 minute walk to the station. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Staff friendly and pleasant. Very good value for money.

I booked 3 rooms for a family wedding, the hotel is very quaint, rooms are nice with comfy beds and everything you could need including an iron and board!. Breakfast was really nice (well worth it). What impressed me the most was that due to the timescales of the wedding and check in we were unsure if we would have been able to check in before the wedding, I had requested that they try to get at least 1 room ready for an early check in, not only did the hotel do this for me (very grateful) they managed to get all 3 rooms ready and although there was some confusion as to check out time (some of my group were told that it was noon) they were perfectly fine with the unintentional over stay. Fantastic customer service to say the least, thank you for all your help! Definitely stay here again.

My family have been using this little hotel for years as our nan and aunty live close by. This was my first visit and I have to say that the staff, from the staff in the restaurant to the reception desk, were all wonderful. Happy, polite, helpful and efficient. To me that's what makes a place tick along and made my stay a pleasant one. If you're looking for a place to stay in the area then I would definitely recommend this place. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean with a spacious bathroom. The restaurant isn't over-priced and they provide a good menu. The hotel is centrally located in Weybridge.

Stayed here for 1 night and had a pleasant stay. The room was very spacious and had all the essentials too (iron/iron board/hairdryer/kettle/toiletries etc) The bed was very big and comfy which allowed for a great nights sleep. Parking was free as it has its own parking on the side. The location is right on the highway street which is ideal too with a big Morrison's across the road along with plenty little stores on the high street (Waitrose right next door) The staff were friendly during non check in & check out especially JULIAN who went out of his way to make sure his kindness was beyond. He was very polite and enthusiastic which always makes the stay more pleasant. Would recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay around this area for sure.

First time visit. Pleasant welcome at reception. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Great Staff, inviting and friendly, fab food from the bar restaurant, good decoration throughout including the rooms, had a problem with the room as I booked a single bed in error and I was upgraded immediately. Would highly recommend

We had an excellent Sunday lunch in Gordons Restaurant on 5th August 2018. It was all pre-ordered and pre-arranged with Linda Green who was friendly and thorough. On arrival I was greeted by Julian who was friendly .He found a member of the restaurant staff, Sylvie to show us through to the restaurant. Everything had been prepared perfectly and we were able to add our own personal touches decorations,cake etc. One week on , I am still on cloud nine at the success of the lunch. The food was excellent, Sylvie and all the restaurant staff were well organised and very professional. I was kept informed at all times of proceedings. Please pass on my sincere thanks to everyone involved. It was a specal day . Julian ,found time to sing snippets from songs to make the event more memorable. I and my family have no hestitation in recommending The Ship Hotel for any celebration. Thank you so much.

The Best Western Ship Hotel, Weybridge, has an excellent Head Chef, Mayla, who prepares delicious and interesting meals fo the functions that are held at the hotel. Sunday Lunch can also be recommended. I frequently attend functions at the Ship and always find Mayla and the Staff very helpful and obliging - ready to discuss the menu and make sure everyone is happy and satisfied.

A very, very small attic single room. The Sash windows may look nice but offer no protection to the noisy road. The blind in the skylight was broken so full sun at 5am. Bar nice and reception staff were helpful.

Firstly no one on reception had to wait then a woman appeared asked can I help I said yes can I check in? She proceeded to check me in asked if I had stayed before I said no, did not mention about breakfast times or the car park just gave me the room key and then my husband appeared,she then asked if we had parked a car on which I responded yes, had to write down my registration she then gave me a code for the car park, failed to tell me that the car park code changes everyday so irritating even when I checked out they never mentioned. Rooms ok need updating it was clean, the whole Hotel needs updating everything looks worn out, and for godsake get some aircon the rooms are unbearable the little fan blowing warm air around makes it worse! Hotel was very quiet no one at the bar area on the 2 days we stayed, could do with more friendly and helpful staff and a revamp. Only good thing its in a nice area with alot of restaurants and pubs around 20 mins to Webridge Station.

I am writing this at 5am, as just had enough of trying to sleep in a room with a constant noise of a pump of some sort. No windows in the room that you can open, in fact the blinds are pulled shut so you cannot open them. Just a complete nightmare. If you stay at this hotel do not take the rooms at the front. Would never stay agin.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. Easy to find,only a small car park imagine it would be difficult to park if the hotel was busy. Check in was easy,asked the receptionist where the room was and was told down there as she nodded towards a door. No direction at all. Eventually we found a lift which took us upstairs and we found our room. She could really do with a few tips on customer service. Hallways are desperately in need of re doing,carpets are stained and have holes in them. Room was surprisingly better though for the size of room should of had a bigger tv. Clean and tidy and a a selection of teas and coffee. For the price of the room there should of been air con not a desk top fan in the room. The rooms are stifling! Breakfast was fine nothing special but perfectly acceptable. Staff were really nice. Wouldn't stay here again but it did the job while we visited Mercedes Benz World.

I've stayed here a number of times and they never seem to get it right ever from issues to checking in and out, requesting assistance with luggage the night before it's required then having to chase them up a no. of times, dirty rooms, no mini bar in the rooms (making it difficult to store baby milk), fire alarm sounding in the middle of the night (this has happened on at least 5 different occasions), very expensive, the list is endless....

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel just for one night. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the main areas were all well presented and clean as was our room. However, there was no air conditioning in the room - we just had one small fan which was ridiculous and spoiled the stay. Also, there was a lot of door banging and people shouting which didn't help in my attempt to get to sleep. We had our evening meal and breakfast at the Hotel and have no complaints about either. Due to lack of air conditioning we won't be returning.

The staff are very friendly, effcient and helpful. There seems to be differing room qualities, mine was tiny and you needed to be a contortionist to get in the room with luggage, a desk space so small it made work impossible. The carpet has seen better days and the botom of the shower curtain was not clean. Regardless of where I am staying I expect a certain standard of room especialy at these midweek prices. I have stayed in cheaper and better places in the central London. My colleagues room was significantly better than mine. Everything else was great, the bar and the food were excelent. The hotel is ideal for nearby pubs and restaurants in Weybridge. i have marked this down due to the room and the cost. If I had my colleagues room I would probably score a 4.

Stayed at the Ship for three nights when we were at a craft show in Esher, Sandown. Ok rooms nothing to write home about,rooms were very hot but there was a desk fan provided. Staff are friendly and the breakfasts are ok with plenty of choice. Didn't eat in the evening as there is plenty of choice in the town.

Stayed for one night but had a pleasant stay room was comfy clean and spacious, breakfast was lovely staff friendly, only bad point was not sufficient parking basically first to arrive ok but if late on had to find alternative parking away from hotel, overall a pleasant one night stay

lovely staff very helpful with conncting to the wifi. very nice bar area with space to eat. i had the ham, egg and chips which was cooked very well. the room was very neat and tidy. i must say that all the staff at the hotel were very polite. can not wait to stay again.

Booked a twin bed from hotel.com, when I got to the hotel I received room 108 which is about 1.5 meter wide with a single kids bed. I've ask to get the room I've ordered, and the clerk said this is it, as I am a single person this is what they provide even though I've ordered a twin bed. At the end after 30+ min of arguing they've changed my room into a bigger single bed room. Will never book from this place again!

Ive stayed at the Ship before and that time round the room was lovely. This stay I had a single room but oh my it was noisy. Heard shower from next door and the the kids!!!! Nursery right next door so early morning shreeching from the toddlers. This was not a good experience. Told Reception when asked how the stay was and the Receptionist just empathised and said he felt my pain. Think I'll give the Ship a miss next time.

The hotel is In the heart of city centre and on the bus route (walking distance but was too warm). Staff were friendly. Lovely receptionist Rooms are comfortable. Bed good. Short walk close by shops and many restaurant. Won't recommend to eat food here. Had Guinea fowl dish in the dinner on Wednesday which wasn't taste fresh and caused cramps in stomach all night. Had to miss breakfast though due to early check out.

The Ship is located in the Weybridge high street and we have stayed here dozen of times. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food is good and served all day in the bar and court yard. Handy for shopping. Wish they had air con though, the rooms are HOT! Fans are provided which helps a little.

The staff were professional and helpful, my room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast was good too. However the bar and restaurant were very overpriced for the quality and amount of food you received, we ended up eating out most nights. My main issue was my room though. I was on the top floor (room 205) and it was so stuffy at night I was unable to sleep. Unlike my work colleagus, there was no air-con in my room, but I did have 2 fans. Unfortunately though, one of the sockets closest to the bed, did not work, and the only other socket was past the other fan at the far end of the room! Another odd thing was the wiring of the lights seemed really strange, it was like a puzzle you had to crack with hall switches, bedside switches and lamp switches just to be able to have a bedside lamp on! Which I'm sure had something to do with all the lights fusing late on my third night, no lights that night then! Also the TV in the room could only pick up 3 channels. Other than that it was ok for the price, I must have just had a faulty, and very hot room!

Met friends who were staying there for a meal. Disappointed with the speed of service and the quality of the food. With so many other quality restaurants in Weybridge why bother eating at this dump? They obviously rely on weddings and conferences to keep financially buoyant.

Nice room, nice meal in restaurant. No complaints Me and my partner stayed here for one night prior to attending an automotive show at Brooklands Museum. It's in a great location on Weybridge High Street and provides easy access to Brooklands Museum and other local amenities.

Being given the key to my room and upon entering to find a laptop on the side and a iPhone being charged I was shocked to find it was already occupied. After that it just went down hill. and got worst i was offered a 30% reduction on my next visit which I declined as I will never stay in a best western again. I value my property and security.

Me and my partner stayed here for one night prior to attending an automotive show at Brooklands Museum. It's in a great location on Weybridge High Street and provides easy access to Brooklands Museum and other local amenities. We felt this was a good value alternative to a Travelodge or Premier Inn although it wasn't without fault. Pros: As mentioned above - great location for Brooklands Museum! Great value, 25% cheaper than the Premier Inn in Addlestone for the same night, modern rooms with free toiletries and tea/coffee/hot chocolate, newly refurbished restaurant and conservatory and plenty of free parking. Cons: Unfortunately our room was right above the external water tank which was constantly refilling with the loud sound of running water. This couldn't be heard with the windows closed - but it was a very warm night so we just put up with it. Admittedly we could've asked to move rooms but didn't want the trouble of repacking everything. Despite the evidently large water tank our shower provided a mere dribble of water which was hot enough but no where near good enough for a decent shower and we would definitely check this first before unpacking. Also, it seems some of the other rooms have doors with dated or broken closers which need adjusting or replacing as they slam shut with a very loud bang and this woke us up a number of times. Finally, the corridors and other communal areas of the hotel seem a bit dated however this had a limited effect on our stay as we spent most of our time inside the room. Overall we would return to The Ship Hotel, although there are a couple of things we would check with the room before settling in! And it would've been a nice touch if the receptionist had asked how our stay was upon checking out.

Hi TA'ers Booked 7 rooms for my family for a wedding at Hampton court House . All rooms great very large and a full wet room for my elderly mother . Breakfast is cooked to order and Delicious. We had a family meal in the restaurant and that was very good Weybridge town very nice Wouldn't hesitate to recommend . One negative I didn't Thnk they were great in replying to e mails

I booked this hotel as it was nearby to Thorpe Park and easy to get to from central London. Free and secure parking with plenty of spaces was important as many hotels couldn't offer me this. On arrival we were surprised at the size of the hotel I thought it was just a little pub! The room was very modern, a great size with twin beds and plenty of desk and wardrobe space. Spacious bathroom with a bath and every amenity catered for including hair dryer, kettle, safe and a fan! We hadn't booked breakfast but could pay for it on the day, we went for the continental breakfast which was a fair choice and all neatly presented. Didn't eat in the main bar at all as we arrived late that evening. Our room was very affordable, a lovely quiet area and would defiantly return again thank you.

I stay at The Ship when working away and I have to say the Staff are what makes this hotel great! Caroline and Sam (manager) are wonderful and ensure you feel at home throughout your stay. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always happy to help!

I've visited the hotel numerous times and have always been impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the breakfast staff, particularly Risca and Carolyne. Bar food is ok but the breakfasts are particularly good.

Booked 6 rooms for a group of friends to celebrate husbands birthday. Checked in early as had a day/meal booked at nearby Kempton races, All rooms were made available early which was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Taxi to race course was £15. Rooms were clean and well appointed, everything you could need for a short break. In the Evening we had a table in restaurant, and all enjoyed our meals, only had mains as had eaten in afternoon. Breakfast was excellent, and all orders correct, well presented and hot, which is hard for a large table. Have not stayed before, would stay again.. would recommend

I planned to stay for one night at the Ship Hotel but due to a medical emergency, I had to visit A&E and extend my stay for another night. I cannot express the care and comfort provided to me by the staff in this difficult situation. The reception staff were very helpful, including physically assisting me from my room to reception, where I got a taxi to the local hospital. Food was very quickly delivered to my room when requested and housekeeping staff also assisted with my requests. Aside from that, I slept very well, it was a comfortable bed and quiet room, and the food was delicious. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Weybridge

Booked this Hotel as it was the closest hotel at the best price for Brooklands. Staff where excellent: Reception, Bar and Breakfast. Special mention for Silvia at Breakfast, very good service and quality of care. The only thing letting this hotel down is attention to detail in respect of decor. We stayed in room 123. Someone had left the heating on high when it wasn't required. Could have been a previous guest, but initially uncomfortable. Bathroom was fine, except a very noisy extractor fan, stains to the bottom of the shower curtain, discoloured grouting above the toilet and rusty toilet brush holder. Also the door closers where in readable loud when bedroom doors where shut around us. We tried to shut ours quietly, but again other guests didn't. There was a worn carpet on the first floor where there was a slope. It should have really been highlighted or needs be replaced.. We ate in the bar as it was a Sunday night. The service and food where very good as was as I mentioned earlier the breakfast on Monday morning. Actually the quality of the breakfast was superb. Probably the best Ive had in respect of cooking, temperature and presentation. If the few issues I've highlighted where addressed then this Hitel would be worth 5stars and it would move on to a higher level

basically your just left to your own devices to find your room, get any codes internet, car park etc and staff not a lot of help. food edible bar meal at best, too many small issues to list, would not recommend at all

We have stayed at the Ship before as my mother used to live close by. Centrally placed in Weybridge with Waitrose just next door and all the Restaurants in the town within walking distance. We stayed this time to meet friends in Teddington because the local hotels were so busy and expensive with Rugby supporters. We had a side room 220 which is quieter than those on the front, but can be hot in summer. There is a fan in the wardrobe. No fridge but good wifi and 2 chairs/table

Clean lovely friendly staff. Lovely room. The only thing I would say I The very very loud fan that comes on every time You use the loo (even at 4am) I shall most certainly recommend and most certainly be visiting again should I ever be in Weybridge for any reason.

I stayed at the ship hotel for a week and had the best time there. The rooma are great, the food was amazing and the staff were very nce all at an affordable price. I syill go there for diner or breakfast and I highly recomend it.

With TripAdvisor my options are 'average' and 'very good'. It's in between. The downsides are the chef turning up late for breakfast (16/03), the cranky heating in the shower and... Nothing else actually. My room was lovely, well kept and clean. Everyday, over my 4 night stay, the biccies and water were topped up. A small gesture that means a lot. There is good parking, the staff are very friendly and not overly false. I can't actually find anything to mean about other than the slow breakfast delivery on our last day.

Booked this hotel for 3 nights Friday to Monday Check in very good was told 135 fat walk to room,room nice shower hot,but next door very loud shouting they might as well been in the room with me,asked to move down in reception as the phone in room not working they moved me to 144 bigger room nice.At 7.30pm rang room service for some food told no service for 1 hour as there was a function on,I would of thought hotel guest comes first is it a hotel or function rooms. Next morning shower cold,asked to move again,they said pack your stuff and they move me as I needed to be in Henley.Came back gave me 135 again I give up,next door are still here by the way. Food and drink exspensive in bar maybe you should have a discount for people who stay in the hotel maybe 10 percent? Just an idea. No discount on my stay maybe they thought I've used so many rooms I got my money's worth. Bar staff very good as reception. Would I stay again? I would look for some where else before I think about coming back..

Stayed a couple of nights on business nearby. Good location, parking a bit fiddly to get to. Diamond status recognised on check-in and accompanied by a goody bag, but points could not be collected against the stay because the booking was not done directly with BW; which I didn't like at all! The hotel is very clean, so as the rooms. Courteous staff and bar food and drinks at fairly reasonable prices. Would certainly visit again.

Stayed here two Nights during a Real freezing Time of the year. The shower didn't had permanent warm water so you Need to Jump in and out. That Happens to several guest—when complaining at Reception they recommanded to turn it on some Minutes before (which is ridiculous). Bathroom was cold as well. Also the bar Was Note well heated and when we asked to turn at Least Fire on they refused. SERVICE means something different. Breakfast is all Right —Rooms are clean. Bed could be renewed.

We held the wake for my husband's sister here. The staff were more than helpful. They provided the catering and gave a great rate on the bar. Guests also stayed here with a special rate. The room was perfect and accommodated 300 people. They had projectors and screens to run our photos and laid out the room exactly as we needed it and we had the morning to setup up. Guests enjoyed an excellent breakfast the next day too.

Parking fab. Position on the High Street fab. So soulless...our room was miles from reception. It all worked but carpets exhausted and room depressing shades of brown. Would we stay again maybe...but even the bar was shut when we returned after 11 pm from eating on the High Street.

Came here on a Company event. Despite 20 of us all turning up at once check in was swift. My room on the first floor was excellent, a good size, very neat and quiet. The Hotel is a lot larger than the outside suggests. The evening meal was a set three course and very plain, but probably was the company paid for. The main course of chicken and mash was cold and on cold plates. Service was good throughout.

I chose this hotel as had been to a few functions there prior to 1981 when I lived in Weybridge. We stayed here 6 nights & weren´t disappointed. It was a fab stay & we couldn´t fault anything. The room was comfortable with sufficient room & storage space with all the in room facilities you could want. The hostess tray was always well stocked. The staff of the hotel were excellent & nothing was too much trouble. I give special mention here to Carolyne at breakfast. The breakfasts were well served & cooked - plenty of choice. The bar was full of ambience. I would recomend this hotel a hundred percent

Just returned from our second stay at The Ship Inn. Lovely hotel in a lovely area. No complaints at all really. Check in/checkout all fine. Our room was perfect for us. It has everything you could ask for including hair dryer and iron & ironing board. Breakfast was lovely and all food was good. Staff were very good and they all seemed very pleasant. Only complaint we have, and really this isn't the hotels fault, Saturday night we were in the bar having a snack. Food was fine, no complaints there. Only thing was there was a very very drunk lady in the bar. Her language was very choice! She was annoying a lot of the guests. We decided to move to a different, quieter part of bar, a separate room and so did others. Eventually someone went to reception to complain as she was annoying everyone. I just feel something should've been done way before it got to the stage it did. The barman was very young and he didn't seem to do anything. But once she was sent on her drunken way the night was fine. We'll definitely stay here again. It's perfect for us visiting family in the area.

We attended with a group of friends for the New Years Eve party, we also stayed over, the party was excellent good food, great service and a fabulous DJ. The bedroom wasa good size, very clean and a nice comfy bed ( much needed after all the dancing) all in all a great start to the New Year. A special mention to the staff who worked so hard and were back again in the morning ready for breakfast service and still smiling - Thank you.

Enjoyed a one night stay. Check in was easy and efficient. Our room was lovely - large, spacious, comfy bed, good shower, good WiFi. Slight confusion at check out regarding we had already prepaid, but easily and quickly sorted.

The location, the rooms and the staff are excellent but the food is anything but. Cooked breakfast was oozing in cooking oil - the black pudding and mushroom in particular were just not edible unless one liked both saturated. The fried eggs were hardly cooked with the white around the yolk still completely uncooked. Orange juice that tasted like watered down and even the tea was tasteless. Not a hotel we will return to as there are very many more in this area. Lovely staff let down by the kitchen.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. The check-in was quick, good sized clean room (although there was no shampoo or shower gel) and the WiFi was of a good standard. The room was lovely and warm on arrival, the bar meal was not stunning but perfectly acceptable. The breakfast was cracking though and the staff were great. I will definitely be staying again in the near future.

Well where do I start........... So stayed here with 3 work colleagues while attending meetings locally. 1 ( female)checked in around lunchtime and myself and 1 other checked in around 5pm. The final member of the team ( male ) checked in around 7pm and this is where the 1st problem started he was issued a Room key but then upon entering the room he found 1 of the other team ( male ) sleeping on the bed in his boxers !!! Could have been so much worse had it have been the female member !!! I asked them both to return to the reception to let them know what had happened. Upon their return they told me the Room key had been changed but no apology. Then the 2nd problem the member that was tried to get back into his room but his key card was now not working so guess what ........ yep back down to reception to get a new one and yes again no apology. Is it so difficult to provide decent customer service or send people to the correct rooms. What would they have done if it was 2 total strangers ? Don't think I'll be using them again for my business

Stayed here many times before and will certainly stay here again attentive staff , clean, comfortable rooms and good food, what more can I say, I am a confirmed fan . it' in a great location , and within walking distance of the River Thames

The Hotel itself is a nice hotel to stay at and does have all the usuall things you would expect. I booked a double room so should of had a double bed instead i had two singles pushed together and made as a double meaning there was a massive lump in the middle. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you need anything its bases in a local town so everything is very close by. The food and bar at the hotel is very good.

:) helpful staff (special mention goes to the ubiquitous Lee who sorted out my radiator - thanks again Lee!), good, varied bar menu, delicious coffee in the morning, complimentary bottles of water in bedroom, comfy bed. :( some carpets looked like they could have done with a clean, some fruit in the breakfast room would have been nice.

Average rooms, nice staff and bland food. On site parking for free was a bonus but the rooms and hotel are very average. The breakfast wasn't great but all the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a good deal for £125 and we wouldn't go back.

Stayed at the Ship hotel for 11 nights as it was near my Sister in Weybridge. Found the staff most helpful as I had a broken arm. Extremely comfortable room, if a little outdated, all the carpets need Renewing as quite stained. I think this hotel is very good value for money & would definitely stay Here again

We made arrangements at the last minute for an overnight stay at the hotel. We found the booking process simple and the hotel was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean, comfortable and convenient.

In summary- very disappointed by professionalism of staff. Two people( staff) walked straight into my mother in laws bedroom- while she was in it. No knocking. Straight in! Walked in- checked around the room for something- almost ignoring her in the room and walked out. Lucky she was fully clothed. I have traveled over 70 countries in the world- stayed in everything from dollar a night accommodation to 5 star luxury- but have always felt that when you close your bedroom door- you are safe. Totally unacceptable to walk into a persons room unannounced. Totally unacceptable for front of house to brush off the incident and totally unacceptable for management not to follow up with my mother in law. Not as much as a note in the room, a complimentary bottle of wine- shocking customer service.

Overall good. Carolyn at Breakfast deserves a particular mention as she was very attentive and bright even at 6.30am. Bar staff could do with English lessons, one guy was hard to understand and I had to repeat myself a few times.

Staying with a group of friends - a two night stay for a wedding and a reception which was held in the Ship Hotel: hotel staff all friendly and helpful, convenient on-site parking, good food, reasonable bar prices, comfortable bedrooms, great function room.

Arrived Friday night. Had evening meal in bar. Very good . Staff friendly . Room and hotel very clean and tidy. Big disappointment the breakfast. Come on who serves a full English breakfast with half a mushroom. And on Sunday half a slice of black pudding. Something that cost pennies gets the ship hotel marked down. Would have been a good 4 rating.

Nice to have such a warm welcome after a long journey and a very slow M25. We were all impressed with the quality of our dinner with the added value of excellent service from a friendly young waiter. If in the area again would want to stay there.

My 2 day stay was ruined as the wash basin had no plug and shaving, cleaning teeth etc, was a nightmare. As it was the weekend the maintenance people are not at work. After reporting the problem a plug was eventually found later on the second day, but on insertion could not be released by the plunger mechanism and so firmly stuck in situ so that the wash basin could not be used at all. There was a wedding on the Saturday night, so the hotel was full and the breakfast on the Sunday morning was appalling as the poached egg was small and shaped like a bullet and the whole plate covered with black pepper. I should have sent it back but the staff and kitchen were rushed off their feet and I had an appointment to keep. On the plus side I had a very good meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night with my daughter and friend and the Albanian born waitress was delightful and charming. The bedroom was very clean and I appreciated the bottles of complimentary water in the bedroom. Overall the staff were polite and helpful so far as they could be. A huge disappointment.

Like a rabbit Warren but lovely hotel. The staff were v friendly. My only negative would be that the carpet in the corridor on 2nd floor was badly worn but hey that didn't affect our stay! Bed was soooo comfortable. Room was v warm but open windows soon sorted that. Would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed at the Ship many times and in the last few years it has considerably upped it's game. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is good. I would have rated the room higher but on this occasion the phone wasn't working and I needed to ask for a spare blanket when the temperature dropped. This was a rare oversight and I would happily recommend the Ship.

Myself and partner booked a stay on the 21 october 2017, staying in room on the third floor. While the room itself was satisfactory, you could sleep but it was in need of repair and care, the issue started at 1am with noise. I had to go to the night porter (first time) at 1.45am to make a complaint about the noise in the room under question. It was Male voices that bellow upwards / slamming doors as multiple guests moved into one room from another. We were fine till 1am, but when I had a 4 hour drive tomorrow back for work, and my partner had a 6am start.. Well gone 2.30am, he had to go find the night porter again to fix this issue as asking them politely didn't help. This time they put a 'do not disturb sign on the door' - ironic really.. Anyway, we expected some action to be taken to tolerate this poor behaviour, e.g. ask them politely to take their party/gathering down stairs and drink there as to not disturb the other guests. Nothing was done here, we had to persist with the noise, and we had not managed to sleep a wink. If we lived close by, we would have driven straight home! Final and third attempt, now at 3.07am due to voice issues not improving and getting worse, I went back to complain. The Night porter just said 'it's a wedding' .. gone 3am sarcasm doesn't really mix well with me, and that doesn't mean that as a paying guest, we are to suffer surely ?! It had gone 3am ! To resolve the issue he got the duty manager John Thompson. He was short with me, rude and not exactly friendly. He just said, 'well want do you want?' I said well after 2 hours I expected to be offered to move rooms'. He said, I just asked them to be quite'. I said yes, but hours later it hasn't helped. So in the end, the night porter went to check another room on floor 1. I said to John Thompson that I'm unhappy as my partner is on business, and up at 6am, and myself I had a 4 hour serve home. He sarcastically said, 'what only 4 hours, well you must drive fast'. Not really in the mood for sarcasm, it wasn't even said in a joking way and he just kept sucking his blooming mint - yes service from management means eating when with an upset customer. Nothing was done to compensate for this stay, even the response on the email form the complaints department. All I had was 2 hours sleep in a room they should have moved me into on the 2nd attempt, to have offered to move us, not for us to demand it. I'm overall upset with the service we paid for, I would have liked at least some form of compensations (not even offered a warm drink when down there waiting upset and anxious with lack of sleep).But nothing - as expected. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh the customer services response today was: Good morning -, Thank you for taking the time to contact Best Western Customer Services regarding your recent experience. Naturally, I was very concerned to learn of your disappointment and I hope you can accept my apologies for this. If you can please advise which Best Western Hotel you stayed with we can certainly look into this with the management team at the hotel. Lovely hotel, big room good quality bed linen and toiletries. Nicely decorated and on site parking. Breakfast menu was lovely, everything you could possibly want!!!! Windows did not open very well, so if in the summer could be a problem, and it is over flight patch from Heathrow.

Excellent front desk and staff throughout my brief visit but have stayed before and was the same. Breakfast was first class, dinner was very well priced but I always use one of the many local restaurants of which there are many.

We frequently lunch at the Ship Hotel on a Sunday it being a short walk away. The staff are always welcoming but lately the turn over of personnel has been a bit off putting. However they are helpful and usually of a genial disposition. The ambiance in here is of a preserved genteel of bygone days, excellent, you are able to enjoy a meal in comfort. The food here is of a well prepared galley and good cooks it always tastes as it should beef nice and tender with all the necessary vegetable accompanying it also with great taste. The tables are always well laid sparkling glassware, shining cutlery and snow white serviettes a joy to sit down to. Sundays at the Ship a must if you are local or on holiday

Decent hotel with nice clean rooms, decent bathrooms and a nice bar, it caters for weddings so weekends can be a tad noisy but all in all a pleasant place to stay with parking but get in early for parking as it goes quickly

I attended The Ship Hotel for a lunchtime reunion with old work colleagues. We dined in the Windsor Room. It was perfect for our group. The selection of starters was good. I had the patè which was tasty. The main courses were plate filling. I had the Turkey with all the trimmings. Christmas came early for me. I finished off with the fresh fruit salad which was huge and refreshing. A great venue for a great lunch.

I was allocated a single room for 3 nights stay. I did not expect what appeared to be slightly higher end student digs for almost £100 per night and was not aware just because I was traveling alone that I would be penalised in this manner. I haven't slept in a single bed for about 30 years!! The room was cleaned daily. I was staying in room 108 which appears to be over the pub area and I feel like I am sat on a speaker it's so loud. There is no view. The room overlooks a flat roof onto a lane which is oppressive to say the least. I came here on a business trip and cannot work in this room I have a headache and out of 3 nights here I have had disrupted 2 nights with excessive noise. Where I come from in Wales these prices are 5 star so I did not expect such an awful room. I won't be staying here again or recommending it to anyone. Totally unacceptable standards of noise and has ruined my experience. AVOID if you intend to do any business work from your room. The two stars are for the cleanliness of the room and the staff who attended a problem with brown murky bath water the first night and resolved the issue in time for the following evenings return to the room.

Old quaint building, which is a bit awkward to find your way around, however, a very comfortable clean room. Some noise from aircraft taking off from Heathrow but only noticed for about one hour each evening. Good breakfast did eat there in the evening. Free parking, car park now has access limited by a barrier. Convenient location.

stayed as was in weybridge on business and this hotel was centraly located. check in was ok and headed of to my room. meals within the hotel were a bit pricey for what they were and so are the drinks. on returning to the hotel i went to bed only to be woken at 3am by the fire alarm going off i looked out of the door to see what was going on only to see other guests with the same confused look. i got dressed and headed downstairs passing guests going all directions without a clue what was going on. on reaching the reception there was 1 member of staff who just said its a false alarm and to go back to bed!! after asking him to confirm this as i thought only the fire service could declare it was safe to return i went back to my room and after a further 15 mins the alarm stopped later i noticed a piece of paper being shoved under the door upon reading it, it just said the fire alarm was a false alarm and was due to a fault and finished with sorry !!!! and that was it well for me this was not good enough after being woke at 3am no staff anywhere telling guests where to go and what to do and then getting back to bed around 04:15 and then a 6 line explanation shoved quietly under the door. at the very least it should have been a member of managment actually saying sorry and offering something in way of compensation no doubt i wont be staying there again

stayed at the ship hotel on a weekend away the room was very spacious and very clean the bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleep was had we had a few drinks in the bar which was reasonably priced would happily stay again

Excellent meal in the evening with prompt good service. Food was excellent quality, steak cooked as requested and great value. Accepts Gourmet Card which reduces your bill further. Will definitely be having meals here again. Have stayed here several years ago and found the accommodation excellent and the breakfast brilliant. Well recommended overall.

nice clean hotel. staff helpful and friendly. bedroom clean very nicely decorated and one of the best beds i have ever slept in. breakfast very good. bar is pleasant. it was a long walk from lift to our room. 136. so asm for 110 or tbere abouts for shorter walk.

nice hotel, excellent frontage, good public areas, nice rooms, but there is seemingly only air-con on the ground floor, the bedrooms can be very warm, excellent breakfast, but the juices have been watered down !! odd, everything else at breakfast is very good, all the staff were very pleasant, from the hotel you can turn left for the river, excellent scenery and walk or turn right for the town, which wasn't bad, noise in the hotel was acceptable, particularly from the courtyard, and it always quietened down between 11.30- 12.00, the beds were quite comfortable and the toiletries were excellent

Nice room when at the back no street noise. Of course you are close to Heathrow so planes can be heard. There is no airconditioning. The water pressure is low so a shower is with little water. Coffee and tea facilities in the room. Good parking places for the car private and some covered. Breakfast very good and fresh. All sorts of fruit pastries yoghurt etc and also full cooked options. Location in towncentre so you can walk to shops and restaurants.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is in the perfect location in the center of Weybridge. It is close to shops, the train, and a variety of great restaurants. It is in an old historic building that has been added on to. On a recent stay there, we found that the rooms are being renovated and we had a lovely stay in one of the newly renovated rooms. The breakfast is adequate and the servers are always eager to please. If you are driving a car, there is free parking in the back of the building which is very convenient. Weybridge is a town that is conveniently located with easy access to many of the other towns in Surrey and close to the major Motorways-M25, M3, and Heathrow. Overall I don't think you could not get better value for your money by staying at another hotel.

Brilliant location for the high street, we got married here 9 years ago before it became a best western and I can only say we were disappointed. Arrived to be told system was down and they couldn't access anything so didn't know if we had paid or not. Room was nice but very hot at night. We went to the bar for a drink to be ignored by young barmaid then the second time we went for a drink a man who arrived at the bar after us said they were first she replied 'I will serve you first because I know what you want' the older barmaid then served us and was very polite. Disappointed that breakfast not included in the £117 we paid for the room.

Prices were too high but Tracey the barmaid was such a good barmaid we didn't mind paying them, she was very professional and charming and made our stay very pleasant, thank you Tracey from Matthew, Charli and Ava

Spent the weekend at the Ship Hotel and it's location is great, being on the high street is an added advantage. A big disadvantage is that the rooms have no aircon, as it was a warm weekend, we battled to sleep. Hotel is dated and could do with a refurb but is good for an affordable stay.

Enjoyed a lovely weekend stay at The Ship Hotel after visiting Hampton Court Flower Show. On return home found I had left an item of personal belonging in the room. Contacted the Reception Desk who were truly helpful and found the item in question - this was duly posted to my home address. Boxed,wrapped and received by the end of the week! amazing. Excellent customer/people skills and the staff member was so very helpful. Huge thanks

Convenient location and price for a business trip. Paid for the dinner, bed and breakfast rate for an extra £25 expecting a set menu but got £20 towards the meal, and drinks weren't included. Ended up with a burger for £25. Receptionist frequently made bill mistakes in their favor with no apology when i pointed them out. Room was exceptionally warm and uncomfortable. Whilst I appreciate it was a warm day, most hotels do better. Would not recommend, there are much better around for the price. I also felt they were trying to export extra money so check your bill.

I came here for afternoon tea with family and it was lovely. The staff were very kind and attentive. It was great value for money and the food was delicious (especially the carrot cake) I would definitely recommend going for afternoon tea here!

The hotel is nice and well decorated. I stayed in double room for one week. Every day I had biscuits, bottled water, tea and chocolate. The size of the room was good and very clean. Great breakfast and delicious food with reasonable prices. The staff was professional and extremely friendly and ready to help even for requests that are not related to my stay. I Highly recommend it.

Just checked into my room which is the smallest hotel room I think I have ever stayed in over the last 20+ years . Don't get me wrong I'm not a hotel snob , however £142 for a room of this size, standard with no bath and the smallest bathroom ever just isn't right . I've booked a meeting with the manager Ryan in the morning to re negotiate my bill Even though I'm away on business and not paying myself I can't justify such a price .

Hotel well located with off street parking. Excellent service and very comfortable stay.. Good quality produce and selection of items for breakfast. Staff very attentive. Room well appointed and very clean.

Just stayed for one night but was impressed. It's right in the Middle of Weybridge so handy for everything really, although probably a good mile and bit from train station. Like any old building it's a bit quirky, but the room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Staff were very helpful and although we didn't eat at all the bar and dining areas looked modern and good which they would have to be in Weybridge. Would use again if required.

Nice hotel decor great, bar food fair.bar staff and reception helpful. Only stayed 1 night 2 couples in room 304 and 308 the rooms were clean and well equipped only problem was the air con did not work, some parts of hotel had the heating on and outside was not cold. we had to sleep with window open and noise from road outside quite bad but not all night. We where offered fans for the room. Would stay again but would check room temperature first.

We stayed in a club double, which had a super king bed and a couch bed for my daughter. Room was a good size, and very clean. Nice touches, biscuits, bottled water, hot chocolate, robe etc. The ensuite was also a good size and very clean. Towels were changed and teabags and biscuits replaced while we were at breakfast. Breakfast very nice with a good selection and hot breakfast (fish options available) served to the table. Staff were pleasant at all times. Free parking very convenient. I must complement the chef and menu planners on their dinner and other menu options. The tuna with noddles was surperb.

We visited the Ship Hotel over the weekend for a one night stay for our friend's birthday. On arrival the receptionist was very friendly and the decor was lovely inside of the reception area. We were able to park in a secure car park with a barrier which was brilliant as we had peace of mind that our car would be safe. We were given directions to our room which was on the ground floor and accessible via lift. Our room - Our room had obviously just been painted for a refresh as it strongly smelt of paint! The first thing we had to do was open a window as it was over powering. The sign of the back of our door fell off and was jammed underneath it when we opened it! The bathroom area was clean and tidy minus the filthy bath mat and the filthy fan as seen in the pictures! A bit of bleach wouldn't of gone a miss. Apart from those key issues our bathroom was clean. The bedding was clean minus the rips at the bottom of the bedsheets! I must admit our bed mattress was rock hard, the pillows were comfortable however. General cleanliness of the room was ok! The condiments were an added bonus too. Outside of our window we were on the back of a row of houses, right below our window the hotel fire exit route was full of strewn rubbish! How people were expected to follow a fire route through there i do not know, there were clean signs showing that was a fire exit route! Please correct me if there is a new one but still there should of not of been piles of rubbish for customers to see? I don't expect fantastic scenery for £84 but it would of been nice not to of had to look at rubbish below my window...... We should of done our research as we were under a flight path and it was very noisy, especially for 4 people who live in the country! The hotel is situated in a convenient location and there is plenty to do nearby including shopping and eating out which is a bonus. The staff are lovely it's just a shame minor details get overlooked.

I visited The Ship Hotel over the weekend of the 20/21 May 2017 and had high expectations. The reception was clean and tidy, it was the late afternoon when I arrived. Room 301 was large and well appointed. I noticed the room was themed in the style of an old sailing ship's cabin. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was very comfortable, but there were issues with the air conditioning. Guest-care had missed the remote control to activate it. The night staff fetched one, and it worked, but buzzed all night long witch was annoying. Sunday morning's breakfast was appalling.I could not find the sweetener for my coffee, so asked for some. I was directed to the breakfast bar. It was not on display, and I had to search through the draws and cupboards to find it. Obviously it had been forgotten. Bacon, sausage and egg was ordered. It took 40 minuets to arrive, and when it did it appeared they had forgotten to cook most of it.So bad was it I took a couple of photographs of a potentially lethal portion of cold half cooked food, which I have posted. The general manager was on holiday, and it was the manager's weekend off. I raised my feedback with the duty manager, and she has assured me that she will be bringing my observations up with her senior management team next week. Clearly there are issues that need addressing. I will return to this venue again and re-review it later this year.

:) Spacious, clean rooms, spotless bathroom, room price very good value for money. Good breakfast (hot meals made to order), helpful staff, good bar food menu, 24 hour room service. right by high street but quiet. :( bar quite expensive if having wine by the glass; noisy fan in bathroom

The hotel is in a brilliant location!! The room was clean but the room was SUPER hot! we had the window open as much as it could and the fan on and i must say it was unbearably hot. It was also ruined by noise!!! i did call reception and they did tell them to keep the noise down but that only lasted for 10 mins and the noise started again. It is a shame as hotel in a great location.

Great value for money on the Fizzy Friday Package. The Hotel itself is very nice, well looked after and clean. Location is great and the meal we had from the restaurant was excellent. We were a group of ladies taking time out for ourselves and a catch up and the staff made our stay very enjoyable

My wife and I are reasonably regular visitors to the Ship. We are in Manchester but our son and his family live in Weybridge and since our granddaughter was born a year ago we try to get down there every couple of months or so. The Ship is convenient for where he lives and other than on one occasion we have always stayed there and usually in an executive room. Last weekend we stayed in Room 207 and I'm afraid it confirmed our opinion that over the past year we've seen a significant deterioration in the condition and fabric of the hotel. The rooms are getting shabbier, dustier, carpets are threadbare in places, the bathroom fittings are worn out and some do not work at all, our bathroom extractor fan didn't work, the door handle on the inside of the bathroom door came away in my wife's hand trapping her in the bathroom (as this happened on a Saturday "maintenance couldn't deal with it" so, for the rest of our stay, we couldn't fully close the bathroom door), water supply is erratic with scalding hot water suddenly emerging from the cold tap, the temperature of the water in the shower swings from comfortably warm to scalding hot and then to cold (this is potentially dangerous if a guest is caught unawares or has a mobility problem because when I say scalding hot I am not exaggerating and the same thing had already happened to us in another executive room we stayed in last year) and, finally, the toilet flushed with hot water! Best Western needs to spend a significant amount of money on this hotel if it is to restore what is already a fading reputation and to bring it up to the standard it advertises it at. Staff are good but it's clear when you speak to them that they are embarrassed at the condition of the hotel. Breakfasts are also good. It is also very frustrating that I have yet to see the Ship offer any discounted rates because, and it may be pure coincidence, immediately after I make a full price booking I always receive an e-mail from Best Western extolling the virtues of its hotels discounted rates. None, however ever seem to apply to the Ship. 

Well positioned hotel within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Room average but very clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the stay was spoilt by the very loud music throughout the hotel from an evening wedding reception. Our stay was on a Wednesday evening so not a typical day for a wedding. If we had been notified of this in advance we could have changed plans. As this was a business trip for an early morning meeting the lack of sleep mattered !!

I stayed here for a week in August 2016. The location is fantastic - within walking of several restaurants, grocery store, coffee, etc in Weybridge. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The outdoor courtyard area is great for a drink when the weather is warm. The room is a bit small by American standards, but certainly met our needs. Good water pressure in the shower.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel even arranged for a large helium balloon for my son's birthday which they presented at breakfast the next day. I'd only mentioned it on the afternoon before when we checked in! There was a slight mix up with afternoon tea and on one evening there was very loud music from a party but overall it suited us very well and breakfast was excellent.

We attended a friends birthday party which was a 3 course fully catered affair with an over night stay and breakfast the following morning. The staff were all so friendly and professional, the rooms seemed newly refurbished, in fact all areas of the hotel were fresh and spotlessly clean. Special mention to the staff who waited on us at our tables, expertly done and far better than some 5 star places I've visited. Breakfast the next day was delicious and far superior to any I've had at similar hotels. A great experience.

I visited The Ship Hotel for a family member's 70th Birthday celebration. Overall our stay was fantastic. Our room was a great size and spotlessly clean. We had a new born baby with us and there was plenty of space in the room for buggy etc and to move about. There were, what seemed, free bottles of water, coffee, tea in the room and a kettle. There was also an ironing board if needed. Only downside was the shower. The mixing taps did not mix, so the shower, which had good pressure, went from scalding hot to ice cold on about 10 second cycles. We were only there for a single night so not a major problem but could get very annoying if the stay was slightly longer. We had a sit down meal in one of the function rooms, for 40 people, and I must say all 3 courses were lovely. Hats off to the chef. There wasn't a single person I talked to that had any faults with the food or venue. Breakfast the next day was also to the same high standard. A great selection of cold bits and a very nice full english if that's what you want. We drove over from Kent for the evening so we got to make use of the car park which is a nice size. This brings me on to my only other down point and won't effect many people as yet. We drive an electric vehicle but unfortunately there were no charging points in the car park for us to top up overnight. Best Western were supposed to be rolling this out across their hotels a couple of years back but they seemed to have skipped over The Ship. I did ring reception to ask, even for a 3 pin plug in the car park but got told no. Would be something very useful to add as EV vehicles become more and more popular and the car park has plenty of opportunity to have points fitted. Overall a great stay and a great venue for the party. Only 2 minor mute points in the funky shower and lack of car charging facilities. Would definitely recommend to anyone else having a medium to large family function here.

We celebrated my birthday at The Ship this weekend. We were a party of 49 with children. Everything was absolutely perfect. We used the Windsor function room in the evening and I chose one of their Set Menus for dinner. Always nervous of mass catering, I needn't have been, everyone's meal was delicious and served piping hot. The staff in the Windsor room who looked after us were extremely helpful and efficient. The bedroom, recently refurbished, were all very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you could want. Breakfast on Sunday morning could not have been better, full English, with a huge variety of other good quality options. The staff on Sunday morning in the breakfast dining room, worked cheerfully and efficiently even after being put under pressure by most of us coming down to breakfast at the same time. A good time was had by all thanks to the hard work and efficiency of all the staff at the hotel who worked so hard to ensure we had a great time. We did – thank you so much.

We stayed with 4 friends for 2 nights. All our rooms were good with pleasant keen bathroom and products. Comfortable beds and bedding. Natalia was very helpful at the desk. Because of room upgrades blocking corridors and the layout of the hotel round a square plan it was a long way to our rooms! The staff kindly found a room nearer the lifts, incidentally with wet room that was appreciated, for a couple that a long walk would have been very difficult. Breakfast was good with decaff coffee on request, plenty of fruit as well as pastries etc. A small niggle would be the poached eggs ( one only wanted but 2 arrived, rather wastefully) on a sodden piece of toast rather unappealingly. Also it is nicer to have toast for all arriving fresh after cereals etc rather than at the start of breakfast as brought. We had one meal in, pie night. Pies went down well with good crispy pastry but the meat inside was dry although gravy was also served. These are small niggles and intended as constructive comments as we had an enjoyable couple of days. We all went to Brooklands, air museum with Concorde, other old planes, a Red Arrows experience and a vintage car ride round the original race track; a great day out for all. Some of us wandered along the high street later for window shopping in the sun and coffee and cake at Aurora which we recommend. Plenty of choice including several very good Italian ones and a Nepalese one.

Having eaten here a couple of times, I have to pay my compliments to the main chef who created these menus. I lovely combination of textures and flavours. The cheese cake is out of this world and highly recommended.

Although stayed only one night,we were more than pleased with our choice of hotel for our new granddaughter's christening. We received a warm welcome on arrival.Our room was smart and clean having been recently refurbished. The bed linen was high quality , as were the toiletries in the bathroom.We dined in the hotel and the food did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and efficient .Parking was ample and secure. The christening breakfast was a success (it was at 6am Easter sunday a special service !!!)Thank you for an enjoyable weekend.

Located in the centre of weybridge this is a great place to stay good sized rooms spotless and clean great food and especially the breakfast.All the staff where super polite we really enjoyed the stay.rita @ brian glasby from sheffield

The hotel is situated right in the middle of Weybridge and is perfect to visit the town. It is an old public house B&B turned into a brand named location and its great. There is secure private parking included and there is also a courtyard which allows those smokers of you to sit outside and not on the high street, to smoke or whatever you do ;) The rooms are tidy and comfortable. There are irons and ironing boards in the room as well as a kettle. Nice really, no issues at all. The breakfast was good if a little small (full English) although that was not an issue

First visit to this venue prior to upcoming stay for four nights. Staff both helpful and friendly, reasonable range of beers available and well priced bar snack menu. Venue has own private car park a bonus in Weybridge high street.

We visit our family in Walton on Thames regularly but have never stayed at the Ship before, we will definitely be returning. This is an excellent hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. Very reasonably priced.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Ship and have found the hotel good and the staff helpful. We had a meal in the bar which was reasonably priced and tasty - though my beef burger was rather dry (I didn't complain) and the chips my wife and I had tasted like oven chips and were a little dry and slightly under cooked - we think just an off day on their part - we should have commented at the time but didn't which is always unfair on any establishment. The cooked breakfast was superb though and had everything on offer you could want. We will stay again as we have family in the area and it is a nice hotel and worth a visit.

Beautiful Hotel, friendly staff, delicious food! The highest standard of hygiene, service, wonderfully prepared food! Clean, nicely decorated throughout! Every member of a staff are courteous, professional and an asset to Best Western! And Israel (Isy) is The Best Western groups, very own extremely friendly and helpful 'Spanish Waiter'! Such a polite, can do chap who made every guest feel welcome.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel - clean , comfortable , convenient , friendly , good bar , everything in the room worked as it should , good breakfast , free parking * and reasonably priced . * Not quite correct - you will need to factor in an extra £5 ish to get you vehicle cleaned should you choose to park in the first 4 parking bays - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !! :)

Just finished 4 rounds of training at the Best Western Ship Hotel. Great training rooms with residential rooms for delegates. Lots of natural light and access to the outside for delegate coffees and lunch. Good tables, spacious, everything a trainer needs to deliver a good learning experience. Staff absolutely brilliant and helped us to achieve a great course. Nothing too much trouble for any of them. Coffee and lunch arrived on time and to a very high standard.

I had my 30th surprise party on Saturday (5/11/16) and my boyfriend has explain how helpful and accommodating the staff were throughout, from the booking to the actual night of the party. Would highly recommend for a function in the main suite.

I have stayed before and is one of the better "Best Westerns" I have stayed in. Decent food and staff are very pleasant. I had a nice room which was very spacious and clean. My only real criticism was that the shower didn't work properly. Couldn't regulate the temperature as it was either cold or boiling hot .Either take it out or get it to work properly

I stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago for one night The staff are very professional and helpful, front desk particularly so The rooms are located in a rear extension, which has 3 floors and resembles the Longleat hedge maze, there are stairs, doors, more stairs and doors, some turning back on themselves to Narnia. Negotiating this with luggage, lap top and briefcase was interesting, if not topping up my exercise routine My room was on the third floor, at the rear of the hotel overlooking the car park, the room was clean, however it was dark, even with all the lights and lamp turned on Next to the car park is a Crèche, where children play outside, if you are trying to work in your room, this may be a distraction to some people due to the noise I visited the bar and tried two ales, London Glory, and Green King IPA, both pints were not well kept, the staff were informed, although polite, they were not interested. On this basis I decided to eat out and visit the local pub Collectively, could do better

Stayed for a couple of nights on business. The positives.... good location, nice and clean, decent bar, good wifi. But these are outweighed by the negatives... uncomfortable mattress/bed (after the first night I asked if an additional duvet could be put in my room so that I could actually sleep on top of it to 'soften' the mattress), water pressure in the shower is poor (the bathroom itself looked very new and good quality but the water pressure was bad), TV reception was awful (couldn't watch it - asked for it to be looked at after my first night but nothing appeared to be done). I think the mattress and TVs could be relatively easily fixed....

A sad occasion bought us to The Ship best western in Weybridge,it was my sister-in-laws funeral, she lived in Weybridge. On arrival we realised we had got our dates slightly wrong, we had booked for 5 nights when in fact we only needed 4, the receptionist said she would ask her manager if anything could be done about a refund, but were told no, it was not possible and that was that!! Our room though adequate, nice bathroom, and very comfortable bed, the room was tired, run down and a very grubby rug, when I mentioned the dirty rug to the reception, I was told that the rooms were about to undergo a refurbishment, no other solution was offered, so I rolled up the offending rug and stuck it the corner of our room. We spoke to some fellow guests in the bar one evening , and they said if you return, request a room on level 2, so there's a good tip, and as we shall be returning to the hotel in a few weeks, to finish off some family business,we'll see !! The staff were really friendly, and a very relaxing bar area.

I have stayed at The Ship Hotel several times and have enjoyed every stay, as I did this time. The hotel has all the facilities I need and serves good food. I have encountered some noise from events at the hotel during previous visits but my sleep was uninterrupted during this stay. I enjoyed the food in the bar and at the breakfast. My only small gripe is that the room I stayed in was on the small side for the double bed that was in there. As I was travelling alone a smaller bed would not have been out of place and would have left a bit more room to move around or park a suitcase. I know from experience that this is not the case in all the rooms though.

Had prebooked this hotel in three week´s advance. Upon arrival first there was trouble finding our names, then they gave us a king size for two buisness men. After returning to front desk they had some troubles finding alteretive, but finally the did. Rooms quite small an bathrooms even smaller. Needs to update to better standards. Breakfast with ok service, but not a breakfast buffet, so kitchen has difficulty handing eggs and bacon with toast fast

It was a good nights sleep in a comfortable room. Lots of stairs to climb but fine for us. There was a weeding on one night so there was noise until midnight for our son and his girlfriend who were on the first floor.

Stayed for a weekend away near London, the hotel is well situated and easy to find, good parking and walking distance to train station. The bed was huge and comfortable, the room had a couple of small issues but nothing really to write about and the night manager was great and understanding. A special mention should go to Megan on reception who was really pleasant and helpful. Will definitely use this hotel again.

We have stayed here many times. Location is good, the hotel rooms are small and we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Walking up and down so many flights of stairs got annoying during a 3 day stay. We are unsure that we will be staying here again.

Stayed for one night with two daughters and two of their friends. Sole purpose of stay was for somewhere to go whilst one daughter and friends were at Thorpe Park. The frontage of the hotel looked very promising. Car park was very good. Reception area very welcoming and clean. I had booked one Executive Club Double Room, One Standard Double Room and One Twin Room. The two former rooms were located in the original building whilst the twin room was located in a 1970's-looking extension. All rooms were very dated, although adequate for a one night stay. Bathrooms were basic with in-bath showers and horrible shower curtains. Lounge area was comfy and welcoming. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We only had room service food which was OK, but not great. Only difference between Executive Club Double and Standard Double is that it was bigger. All other facilities were exactly the same. Bottled water was a nice touch and was available in both rooms, although I did not check if it was available in the twin.

Just stayed for one night, without breakfast. As one reviewer stated, you can actually open the bedroom windows...hooray! Perfectly good room and bathroom. Public areas are a bit soulless, especially the bar. Free parking was a great bonus.

One night stay here on business and found it more than adequate right in the middle of town for bars, shops and restaurants, good breakfast nice bar pleasant staff. Reasonable sized car park inc in price and good wifi.

A very friendly and comfortable hotel. We stayed here whilst visiting Guildford, which is half an hour away. Free parking and slap bang in the middle of town within walking distance of several lovely restaurants. Ideal!

A very charming and comfortable hotel to stay at for your visit for business or pleasure in the south east of England. The rooms are not your standard anonomous brand look with windows that can be opened and tasteful decoration. The breakfast is a five star standard and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff - free parking - nice bar and very close to other bars and restaurant make this hotel a good compromise for a Weybridge stay. The patio is very smoky which could be annoying if you sleep with the window open and have aroom on the patio, Peronnally I had a room on the street, and light was a bit annoying - but I coudl get used to it. The windows are well sound proof however the AC was broken so I had to make a choice... Breakfast is very good,

Hot rooms and need showers that actually have some sort of flow on them please.. apart from that the hotel itself is nice with a lovely courtyard that you can enjoy drinks in. It was a hot day and the room was very hot so air conditioning would be good. Free car park is good and staff are helpful.

At last an hotel where the window opens WIDE At last an hotel where the duvet doesn't suffocate you Quiet, comfortable, modern, good value, with a good breakfast Bar staff... please smile...! Be careful where you park ... pigeons overhead..!

We stayed at The Ship for a couple of nights this week during the hot spell and it was very nice to be able to sit in the court yard and enjoy a drink in the sun . Best Western have given the hotel a turn around and re furnished and updated some of the rooms and installed air conditioning. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking space in the gated hotel car park . The Ship is right in the centre of Weybridge over looking the green so it is good for business and holiday stays and has its own restaurant.

Room was really lovely, staff on reception amazingly helpful and room service was one of the best I have ever had. if I had one complaint it was just that it was a really hot night and everything was closed up - would have been nice if someone had opened the windows for a while before I arrived!

The Ship Inn is quite a nice hotel, not necessarily the cheapest ie. add £10.00 per person for your breakfast on top of your room tariff, but to be fair the room we stayed in was very nice and quite spacious. However, there is a problem. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and they are ridiculously hot! Even with the windows fully open it was extremely uncomfortable. The hotel did provide a fan which made very little difference and they must know they have a problem as fans are 'advertised' in the room information and a number of previous reviewers have commented on the unreasonably hot rooms. On the plus side the hotel is well located and is clean and tidy throughout, it is just so disappointing to be sweating all night due to the hot rooms!

Can't complain about anything in relation to this hotel. Excellent for the price, included car parking wifi and breakfast ! A downside was the 11am check out. The room I stayed in had a brand new bathroom, although the extractor fan was quite noisy ... Just don't turn light on during the night! Loved the fresh cooked breakfast... Much better than buffet style offered by most hotels. Staff very pleasant and eager to help.

My husband and i stayed here from 9/11 to 11/11 to attend a surprise party for a friend The hotel,staff and room were all excellent.The breakfast was super and we also had an evening meal on Friday and the food was delicious,the service excellent and the cost was very reasonable The hotel has lots of nice seating areas,a lovely lounge,bar area,nice outside courtyard and lovely dining room.We could not complain about anything at all and would recommend this Hotel to everyone.Weybridge is a lovely place to stay

Stayed one night in room 309. Nice room. Had air conditioning. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Outside the window was a whirring fan which might bother some people but didn't bother me. Great location. Didn't eat in the hotel but instead went across the road to Morrisons for a budget late lunch and breakfast. Also noticed a fish and chip restaurant and a couple of pubs. Bus stop across the road got us to the party we were going to. there was a nice bar we had a drink in and a lovely sunny court yard and conservatory. The only downside and why I have knocked off a star was as we were packing to leave, house keeping knocked on the door telling us to check out. The time was only 10.43 so I think that was a bit of a cheek and I told him we still had 17 minutes. I know from a recent television programme that they are under considerable pressure to get rooms cleaned within a short space of time, but I have paid for the room until 11 and I don't like to be rushed (we were out of the room before 11 BTW - I wasn't deliberately on a go slow!). Kind of let down a nice stay at the last minute.

I was visiting this hotel for a friends wedding and stayed for one night. The check-in was slow and took very long, the room however was very clean. The day of our stay was very hot and the hotel had no A/C anywhere, this resulted in a really hot hotel, sleeping at night was unbearable at times with how hot the room got, even with the windows open and the table fan on. The food was also very average.

The Ship hotel is in a very good location in Weybridge. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Our room, although spacious, was a little tired and dated. Needs to be refurbished. It was very warm but we found a fan in the wardrobe which helped. The room overlooked the inner courtyard of the hotel and I would strongly advise people not to book these rooms as very late into the night people were talking and laughing loudly which led to a disturbed night for us. Also beware the car park ! Lots of space but our car was under what is obviously a favourite pigeon roost and in the morning it was literally covered in droppings. Had to find a car wash very quickly. A good hotel for a simple no frills overnight stay. I highly commend the staff for their incredible welcoming attitude

Always Love the breakfast at this hotel, it's a warm comfortable place with a little character, good for access into London and the local amenities. I stay there for its convenance but eat elsewhere mainly due too choice as there is a nice Thai Restaurant over the road. I would like to see more choice and variety on the menu within the hotel. Overall it's a great experience to be enjoyed.

The hotel is in a good location with parking but the rooms are a bit tired. The television is rubbish with only a few channels available can't even get ITV !!!. Good Wi-Fi and a good selection of bars and restaurants on the High Street. No air conditioning in the rooms however there is a fan in the room but only one spare socket to plug it into.

Stayed one night whilst visiting the area. We received a warm welcome at the reception. A pleasant room and very comfortable bed. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very tasty and good value for money. Excellent service from the staff throughout our stay. We'll definitely come back!

Challenge with a two night booking. Originally booked as one night but extended but somewhere not joined up, even though we when arrived and booked in, assured it was ll sorted. Room not cleaned as assumed we were leaving after first nights stay, Agreed we were staying another night and room cleaned but one of the bath towels looked like it had come from a muddy field. Quickly changed, but? On return late in the evening, key would not function. Had to go to reception and find the night porter he said the system showed as having left. New key issued. The previous evening some of the night staff were having a very heated altercation with some very unpleasant language. Customer service excellent on check out but doesn't right the ineffeciencies.

Stayed here with the Mrs for 1 night while we went to a friends party. Good secure car park. Great amazing friendly staff. Room had everything we needed. Comfortable bed etc Only bad thing about room 105 was the noisy extractor fan in the bathroom, I nearly ripped it out the wall lol.

Booked two days prior to stay. Had an excellent room at a competitive price for this lovely town in Surrey. Was attending friend's wedding nearby. This was my second visit and the staff and service could not be faulted. Lovely warm welcome. Had taxi waiting for me on time. I had one hour of leisure to unpack and dress for the event.

I stayed at The Ship with my family recently as we were attending a party at Brooklands Museum nearby. Had no complaints at all except for the temperature of the room - it was a hot day, 25 degrees, and the room was a bit like a sauna (and the corridor was even worse). The window opened wide when taken off the safety catch but that wasn't much help, so we had to rely on the fan, which did its best - but air con is seriously needed. Apparently there are some upgraded rooms with air con now fitted, so I don't see why it can't be rolled out across the rest of the hotel. When we checked out, a lady was asking to move rooms because the heat was unbearable, and the reception staff informed us that most guests make the same comments as us. Apart from that everything was good - value for money, great location, staff all very friendly and helpful, free parking (quite limited spaces but we managed to get our three cars in no problem on a Saturday afternoon). I would stay again but only if I could get a room with air con.

We stayed here when going on a boat party for a friend's 50th, the staff were friendly & helpful, the location was great, the hotel was clean, the room was a good size, ensuite was also clean & a good size, we had everything that we needed & the breakfast was nice if a little pricey, would recommend

Had a two night stay at The Ship. Very average accommodation, carpet rather grubby and hard pillows. The room was quiet, even though it was at the front of the building. The staff were friendly. Location good for my purposes.

Recently stayed at this hotel with a group of mates after going to Sandown Races. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the facade of the building. Inside was clean and the staff were most helpful. Rooms were a good size and so was the en-suite bathroom. Both were spotlessly clean. We didn't book a breakfast but wish we did as it looked very nice. Bar area was, again, very clean with a nice atmosphere and the staff were happy to provide a selection of sandwiches. All in all this is a lovely hotel in a great location.

Stayed here for two nights while attending the Brooklands Reunion. Room clean and tidy, both breakfast and evening meals excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again.

This hotel is tucked into a small corner of the Weybridge High St, so convenient to shops and restaurants. Our room was a Junior Suite so a bit bigger than normal but worth it. Comfortable bed and pillows, a table and tea and coffee making facilities. No fridge or microwave, fridge would be a nice addition. Breakfast is part self serve and part order off the menu if you want a cooked breakfast. Parking is a bit tight but at no additional cost. We will stay here again.

Always enjoy staying here but wifi is very inconsistent in room which doesn't help when work needs doing . Bar area pleasant , well positioned for wandering in Weybridge or for motorway access - rooms are well kept and clean - staff always very pleasant

Hotel was clean, some days house keeping didn't replenish shower gel. Parking was a problem at the weekends as wedding parties held here. The staff on the whole were pleasant with the exception of one senior manager, she was rude, arrogant and very unpleasant. Your stay will be ok if you don't come across her! I won't stay here again

The bed was comfortable and there wasn't too much noise in the evening. The surroundings were nice, helpful and friendly staff and a well stocked bar. There's also ample free car parking. Great deal for the price you pay.

A perfectly acceptable place to stay in an area where hotel prices are somewhat inflated due to lack of availability. Best thing about this hotel is it's location. You're on the doorstep of Weybridge's pubs and restaurants which is ideal as there are some great places to go. I can relate to other reviewers comments about air con, noise, need of a spruce - but when you balance this against the prices you pay for out of town hotels in this locale it's worth staying here. BTW those other hotels have poor and/or expensive dining.

Stayed for an early morning meeting in London. Handy location with the station about 20 minutes walk away. Interior looks better than the exterior although it's a real rabbit Warren. Staff were great, got upgraded to a lovely room but it was very hot, had windows wide open and fan going all night and still sweating. Hopefully they will get air con soon. Breakfast was good and checkout easy. Thanks also for letting me leave my car for a few hours. Will be back

We had a long weekend at this hotel. Everything was perfect. The room, all the staff (especially the night shift) and the food. Nothing was too much trouble. We were made very welcome and very comfortable. We will definitely be back again next year.

For a best western it's a subtle change less formal and relaxed. Good parking for the area and plenty available. Room was good and clean with modern bathroom with good shower gets an 8. Although not busy the bar was good size and has a good size courtyard for warm summer evenings. Food was good and varied and staff were very good from reception to check out. Bar staff were really good. Breakfast was good and freshly prepared to order. Looking forward to return visit.

A really lovely gem hidden at the bottom of Weybridge hill, the restaurant food is superb and the service even better, especially from a Spanish waiter called Israel. We have used this hotel on numerous visits, but the room we had this time, was simply lovely. Great management, particularly Amit, and even the bar girls make sure nothing is too much trouble, thanks guys

Unfortunately, we were given a room in the roof, during this hot weather spell and it was like an oven. There was a small portable fan there, which was less than ineffective. Bathroom ventaxia did not work and the carpet needed hoovering. Breakfast for my husband was passable but the smocked haddock I ordered was overcooked and tasteless. I have stayed in much better establishments for the £135 we payed - plus they had air conditioning. We shall not return

The crew aboard this vessel are a cheerful, helpful bunch. As for the ship itself? It's lost an oar. It's been spruced up by a new injection of life & personnel on the staffing side but the rooms are still dire. Bland, dark and dour furnishings, poor lighting, uncomfortable beds. And then there's the weather. Any half decent sunshine and its sweltering. If you open the windows, everyone from the hotel bar is under your window making a noise, not the bar customers fault as they're just having a drink. The rooms fill up with the stench of cigarettes drifting up too. The hotel have put a curfew on the outside area of 11pm but the noise was still there at midnight. And the Air Con system? A fan which helps to move static air around the room, but not lower the temperature. So, nice staff, shame about the boat race.....

We had our wedding at The Ship on July 17th and I can not thank the hotel enough for making it the most amazing day. Special thanks to Linda, the most calm, organised and accommodating wedding planner and to Amit for making our day run so smoothly. Our guests have complimented the food, which we are so happy about as that's important at a wedding. The function room worked perfectly and having the courtyard for drinks on a summers day worked perfectly. Our pictures on the green at the front of the hotel have come out beautifully. Highly recommend this hotel, it's been a great experience from start to finish planning our wedding over the last 6 months - nothing has been too much trouble. Our bridal room was also very beautiful and the special touch of flowers, wine and petals on the bed when we returned on the wedding night was so thoughtful! We will certainly be returning to this hotel as it will always be very special to us!

We stayed here for 2 nights recently visiting family. The reception service on arrival seemed a little disorganised but very friendly none the less. The general hotel decor was very nice and the courtyard out the back was lovely. The room was nice and the bathroom was very modern. The only complaint was there was no air conditioning and the humidity on both nights was unbearable. They did have a fan in the cupboard which helped but was very noisy. They could certainly do with air conditioning. The bed was a bit too firm and not the most comfortable, a leaf out the Premier Inn book wouldn't go a miss! Saying that we had a decent nights sleep free from noise. We only had breakfast there which was very good, a good selection of things available including a full English. The breakfast was an additional cost of £10. I think it would have been much better value if it was included in the price of the stay. The hotel also had free wifi which is quite rare these days. Overall a pleasurable stay and the staff were very friendly.

Nice room and in there had equipment we wanted (fan, iron, ironing board, hair dryer etc,.) at night I was really hungry and asked the receptionist about any crisp at front I can buy? And I got it for 3 packs with no extra charge at all. Thanks for suitcase's lady at reception who hard working to look after our suitcase(sorry I did forget toast her name) I would recommend to stay a night here:)

My family stayed at this hotel for a nearby wedding at the end of June. Between us we booked upwards of ten rooms including two disabled rooms. One the whole the stay was good - the hotel staff are excellent. However, an incident involving one elderly and partially immobile member of our party in the bathroom of one of the Access Rooms was a total disgrace. The manager on duty dealt with the situation dreadfully. I have since written to the GM Mr Ryan Docherty but the letter has been ignored. Desborough Hotels clearly aren't at all bothered about their duty of care to residents, so anyone from Best Western who monitors their socials, should investigate this incident properly, before the HSE does, and instigate essential improvements not only to Access facilities, but also to staff training,

we were visiting Wimbledon Ideally placed at a reasonable price compared to London. All so well placed for visiting Hampton Court. Excellent Breakfast would need to a long way to find better. Bar Meals reasonable priced.

Family dinner and very average. Staff very nice, but for a restaurant that was pretty much empty the standard and pace of service was very poor. 30-40 minute waits between courses with two covers in restaurant is not great. Lots of mistakes made and reordering needed as well. Food was nice, not great for the price though. Would not hurry back.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding at a nearby golf club and was disappointed with our stay. Our rooms were at the rear on the 1st floor and as it was a warm night opened our window to hear the drone of a chiller which kept us awake. In the morning there was no water for a shower. When we spoke to the receptionist she said it was because of low pressure due to other guests showering. We were even more horrified to hear that this problem had been reported to the owners previously but they still insisted the rooms to be hired out - so when we checked in they knew about the problem but didn't tell us! When we complained later by email they offered us a free nights stay at this hotel only, not at one of their others around the country. This is a shocking way to treat guests and will definitely not recommend this hotel to my friends or family. Avoid at all costs.

We visited the Ship for a couple of nights while attending Sandown Races.The receptionist Mel checked us in and was very helpful in answering our questions.She organised our taxi for the next day and it arrived bang on time.We had food in the bar which was very good.The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable.Room was extremely warm(had to use fan) ,only other minor negative was that there was no milk left with tea/coffee.All staff we spoke to were polite and courteous.Would definitely recommend.

We had our wedding here in June 2016 and highly recommend it as a venue or indeed just for a short stay. From the start of our association with the Ship hotel about a year before our amazing day, we found all the staff we dealt with to be helpful friendly and genuinely interested in making our day special. In particular, Sarah and Linda who stepped in as our wedding co-ordinators did a fantastic job and were full of enthusiasm and good advice. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We took up their recommendation of Patrick Paget from Monster Entertainment for our evening disco and he was fantastic. The little games he and daughter Charlotte added in helped to break the ice between our different friends and family and really made it so much more than just a "disco". Great choice, many thanks. The day itself itself went like clockwork, our guests were made to feel welcome and most importantly we all had a fantastic time. Our duty Manager for the day, Amit, checked with us constantly that all was OK and was a great help in organising everybody. All the staff from reception, bar and restaurant that we dealt with were helpful and friendly. Many of guests have commented back to us that the food both for our wedding breakfast and the evening buffet were "fantastic". Those that stayed overnight had a good sleep and enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was laid on for us all in a private room the next morning. Overall, we could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding and would highly recommend it. Big Thanks to everybody at The Ship Hotel, Weybridge!

We like the hotel and the staff were friendly and amenable. If there is a function at the hotel parking is limited, but we were lucky and found room for our old classic cars, we really didn't want to leave them on the street and had requested parking for them. We couldn't open any windows in our room as the sliding mechanism jammed. Food was good but the drinks a little pricy (£4.80 a pint of bitter). We would stay again.

My wife and I had a three night stay here for a short break. Hotel was clean and room was fine with enough space for the two of us. Ate out in the evening with a couple of really good restaurants very close by. Undoubtably the best part of the visit was the breakfast. Whilst the service could have been better, it was forgiven as the Ship offers a freshly cooked breakfast to order, with none of the heating lamps, toast your own bread etc etc arrangements the majority of hotels employ. Really good. The bar was good with a comfortable simple lounge arrangement. Pricing isn't the best, so for us the Ship isn't the best VFM around but it suited our needs and was not too excessive to put us off from staying there again

I have recently stayed in the hotel on business for 3 nights. Walking into the reception area, i got an open, warm welcome from the staff, who checked me in with the minimum of fuss. My room was on the first floor, and although on the smaller side, it was a light and comfortable room, complete with workdesk and a nice bathroom. Room was air conditioned which was great. Full tea/coffee facilities also in the room. Breakfast offered a wide range of choice, from cereals & continental through to full english. Food was cooked to order and not the usual buffet style you often get. The hotel bar and restaurant is also in a nice, modern environment. Food choice on offer is very good and in additon, the bar offers a lovely chilled pint of IPA which always goes down well.One comment I would make about the bar, is that the staff are a bit slow on serving......the till seemed to be a major problem for them, but when you're not in a rush, this isn't too much of a problem Location wise, the Ship Inn is in a perfect place, straight out of the door and you're on the High Street in Weybridge, which again is a nice setting. Like check-in, the checking out process was effortless and again, attentive and friendly staff were on reception Definitely recommend and will be staying here quite often on business

The lobby and restaurant have being modernised giving you a nice cosy welcome. (With plenty of on site parking.) The room was very small and the bathroom can only be described as tiny. The decor was very outdated. Nice courtyard to enjoy a drink. Really good quality breakfast

I visited Weybridge for a volunteers' meeting at the Compassion UK office. I chose this hotel partly for its close proximity & partly for the reasonable room rate. There is covered parking adjacent to the hotel which is barrier controlled & requires a passcode on exit. Check in was quick & painless & the receptionists were friendly & helpful. The room was, for once, a comfortable temperature. (I often find hotel rooms a little too warm). All the usual facilities were present & available the wifi was easy to connect and the bed was very comfortable. After walking around the town I decided to eat in the hotel bar where I found the food to be of a good standard & reasonably priced. As an ale drinker I was slightly disappointed with the bar as the one real ale was not available when I arrived, the alternative being a rather bland tasting carbonated IPA. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of choices & set me up for the day. After check out they were very happy for me to leave my car in the car park until after my meeting. I would certainly stay here again if a similar meeting were to be arranged & would recommend it to others.

Definitely stay here, although some rooms do not have a/c they are very good quality, the bar meals (Ship Burger) are great, deserts are nice, the IPA is amazing (it really is!) and I love the breakfast which is made to order. Great location also as plenty to do down Weybridge High Street.

Very efficient check in, room had everything you could think of and was very clean, big fluffy white towels and a nice hot shower. Would not hesitate to go back again or recommend, only one slight downside was the bar staff were very slow serving drinks.

Nice hotel with a good location for my needs, fast efficient check in. Quite a trek to the room but worth the walk, clean with all amenities however the bed really was not comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was good with everything that you could need and check out was slick. Car parking also included so overall a good stay.

My wife and I had a lovley stay here. The hotel was clean and well presented, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and all the staff were happy and incredibly helpful nothing was too much trouble. It makes such a difference when the atmosphere is friendly and the staff are only too happy to help. Had a lovley chat and got lots of useful information from the blond chick behind the bar, like all the staff always with smiles on their faces :). Would recommend to anyone as a great stay for business or pleasure.

Another great stay at this hotel, great breakfast, friendly professional staff. I will be returning to enjoy once more. I would recommend all day long. Situated close to local shops with a short drive or train journey into surrounding attractions and point of interest.

The hotel is clean and neat, and deceivingly large. The staff were very friendly and polite, and the food from the bar was yum. The two female managers at reception were funny, polite and very helpful.

Held a recent party in the function room here and the staff, food and atmosphere were flawless. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure our event went just as we wanted it to. We were very impressed with their professionalism and positive attitude and the facilities were perfect. Thank you, we will not hesitate to book again.

Sorry but rooms don't all come with water for a shower - or hot water as standard!!!! If the hotel is full beware there isn't enough water for everyone to shower. Then on the last evening I noticed no hot water in the evening and knew what the morning would bring- no hot water for anyone. Oh and an apology or discount for the inconvenience is not even mentioned. At the prices charged per night for a room one would expect MORE. Staff at breakfast were disorganised and despite there being plenty of them it took ages if you asked for something. What can I say except that it took me back to Basil- was I really in an episode of Fawlty Towers - yes.

Been here for 2 nights and what a stay, this place looks small from outside but have great facilities to offer. We booked for breakfast and had to leave early in the morning just before breakfast start , I thought we had to skip the breakfast but one of the manager , i think his name is "Amit" arranged early breakfast for us and ensured that we are not travelling empty stomach.This is Incredible and amazing costumer service. Amit is certainly a great asset for the company and made our stay perfect.

We held an evening function at the hotel and couldn't have found the staff more helpful and efficient. Everything we asked for was provided and done so with a smile. I would recommend the Ship Hotel if you are looking to hold a party.

Only stopped over for one night on a trip to visit family in Hersham. First thoughts were good apart from a room not being available at 2.0pm as promised when booking. A quiet spacious room perfect we thought when we returned to the room in the evening and my wife wanted a bath it was then that we noticed that the hot tap was broken. We were offered an alternative room but due to the lateness of the hour we declined this offer. Next morning, more chaos ensued as no hot water at all for anyone as boiler had gone on the blink. it was fixed later although with no hot water tap we still could not have had a proper shower. After a very good breakfast we returned to our room to pack up prior to leaving the fire alarm went off, we duly followed the instructions in our room about fire drill and we assembled outside the hotel. No there was no fire, no it wasn't a pre planned drill, in fact like the hotel staff we had no idea why the alarm went off. Any apology or explanation from any staff member? Er no. We then had to troop back up 3 flights of stairs collect our luggage and come back down the same 3 flights as the lift had been rendered inoperative due to bogus fire alarm, in order to check out. We were offered £40 discount off our bill which we reluctantly accepted. Oh and the stopper in the sink didn't work! Sorry this was so poor as stayed in other Best Western hotels and never had an experience like this before.

No air conditioning in the room, and a heater that wouldn't turn off meant for a very stuffy nights sleep, then problems with the water system meant that no water pressure available so no shower or hot water! To add insult to injury a fire alarm malfunction at 9am! Not the best night away I've ever had, although to there credit did offer a full refund!

The hotel is excellent and I would recommend a stay here, if your visiting London or somewhere more local it is certainly value for money. Service is second to none and all is of an excellent standard. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Well presented hotel. Exceptionally good breakfast. Could do with air con in the room as was a hot day when I stayed so spent most of the night sweating. Naturally not much of a problem I would think for most of the year.

Recently stayed one night at the ship myself my partner and my father. Firstly the hotel looks great and was great fantastic lady behind the bar(didnt get her name) couldnt do enough. the rooms very clean and comfortable breakfast was wonderful the same lady from the bar served us (deserves a pay rise) again great choice and more tea/coffee if wanted and toast . all in all I would recommend and will stay again .

Great location, comfortable bedroom, immaculate bathroom, very friendly helpful staff and superb breakfast. The staff on duty during breakfast time were particularly happy and their dancing to the background music put a smile on my face! Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a central location and within a short walking distance to all the shops and amenities that I used on a frequent basis. The room that I was allocated was very clean, nicely decorated and a nice room to relax in. All staff without exception were very friendly and made sure that any requests that I had were met within a very quick timescale. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who requires accommodation in this part of the country.

We stayed at the Ship for a weekend Friday to Sunday and found the Hotel very comfortable, friendly staff, lovely spacious room with Queen size double bed. Breakfasts were excellent , buffet style for cereals, fruit, yogurt etc and hot food ordered and delivered to table. Good menu choice for breakfast and food served hot. We tried a meal in the bar, the haddock and chips- delicious!

We had our wedding reception at the Ship Hotel and had the most amazing time. The staff were absolutely fantastic on the day and couldn't do enough for us. In the weeks leading up to our wedding day we had great help and support from a lovely lady who is the events coordinator. She helped us plan the day and was first class. The food for our wedding breakfast was superb and of very high quality as was the service and many of our guests commented on this. The Thames Suite and Hampton Suite were great venues to have our welcome drinks and main meal respectively and both rooms were very smart and laid out nicely. Fantastic evening buffet and a very nice room to stay the night in when the festivities finally came to a close. Excellent breakfast the next morning too. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel if you are thinking of having a big party ie. wedding, special anniversary etc. Well done to all !!

This hotel is well located, a bus stop outside, with a good car park. Our room was quiet and spacious. The restaurant is good and all the staff are helpful. My only slight niggle was that the pillows were very firm. The staff were excellent coming to check our toilet within minutes when it would not flush and providing fresh milk very quickly when asked.
