« Great Hotel! Great Experience »

I was in Milwaukee for my daughter graduation. Was the first time there and this hotel make me all very easy and comfortable. I check in late and they already had all my stuff to help me very fast. The employee was very kind, the room was very pretty and clean. The breakfast was a mega plus, different foods (Egg, sausage, bacon, donuts, breads, pancake, coffee, juices, even yogurt!!). I recommend this place to eat too. The calzone and the hamburger was so so so good. Place is very secure, it has a Target and a Walmart walking distance. If you look a place to stay in Milwaukee, choose this hotel. I recommend it!!!!

    « Family Stay »

We stayed here for 2 nights, there were pros and cons. We arrived and had a difficult time locating the entrance because it is under construction and blocked off completely. There were no signs or anything indicating how to get into the hotel. After about 15 minutes we found the back alley and parked, parking is very small and tight. Then we had a hard time finding how to actually get into the hotel, thankfully one of the construction workers told us if we pressed a button on the doors we could get in. After checking in we got to our room and it was small and tight! So small that it was difficult for my daughter and me to walk side by side at the end of the beds. I wish I had taken a photo to show how small the space is between the beds and the desk/dresser. However, it was adequate for what we needed for a couple nights. The beds are pretty high off the ground, my 5 year hold had a hard time getting up by herself, but they were comfortable. There were also plenty of pillows, we usually have to request more but this time we didn't. Our first night we ate off property and when we got back we used the pool. When we walked in we were hit with the smell of chlorine, it was very strong! We were down there for about an hour before people started coming in from the attached apartments. It wouldn't have been a problem but they were drinking and swearing loudly, I didn't want my daughter around that so we left. The next morning we got up and ate breakfast, it was a good variety and all hot and fresh! My daughter had the pancakes and loved the automatic pancake maker. There were quite a few topping choices available, it was a nice change from the usual butter and syrup! She chose strawberries, chocolate chips and whipped crème! I tried the oatmeal but it was way too watery so I ended up with the yogurt, some fruit and toast. My husband had the eggs, potatoes, sausage and a bagel. Loved the variety of beverages offered, not just your standard coffee, orange juice and apple juice. That night we ate at the onsite restaurant and it was great! Service was quick and friendly. The pretzel was HUGE! It was easily a meal for the 3 of us, however we had ordered pizza and a steak sandwich so we packed up 3/4 of the pretzel and ate it later in our room. The pizzas were delicious cooked perfectly! I don't know if we would stay here again, the issues with the entrance and the size of the rooms was a turn off. But it wasn't a huge deal, just an inconvenience.

« Caution: Noisy construction going on »

I was in Milwaukee for one night for a concert (Steven Wilson @ the Pabst Theater). When I first arrived I noticed the renovation construction going on. When I checked in I asked for a room away from the construction and was accommodated. Room was decent and clean, had it's own kitchen plus an in-room safe but upon entering I noticed the room was a little hot and stuffy. Tried the air conditioner and it did not work. I informed the front desk and they said they were upgrading the electrical systems so the A/C was not currently functioning. Also I was kept awake by noisy guests in the room directly above me. This is an older building so it's not as soundproofed as newer properties. Fortunately, earplugs were provided in the room. Very good continental breakfast selection although the pancake maker was not working properly. Had to call over an attendant twice to get it going. Despite the issues I'd stay here again next time I'm in town for a concert.

« Nice night of rest »

Comfy king bed made for a great night's rest. Staff was friendly and always had a smile when approaching the front desk. Rooms were clean and it was nice to know that they sanitize the TV remote each day.

    « Great Visit! »

Here to check on a sick relative in short notice. The front desk gentleman when we checked in was so nice and helpful. It snow s while we were there and the same young man came out and cleaned off our car so that we could leave.

    « Nice stay & convenient location. »

Overall, the experience went well and nice accommodations. Room was attractively decorated, modern, and the bathroom was very clean and spotless. Breakfast was excellent with dozens of choices; internet was okay speed; and despite very busy location it was fairly quiet.

    « POOR customer service »

I have a complaint about the Best Western located at 5501 National Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin I live in Iowa. My mother passed away two weeks ago. Every year at Christmas my mother would host a pizza party for the whole family. I contacted this Best Western and spoke with Matthew the manager of National Pizza located on premises. I explained that I wanted to host a pizza party after my mother's funeral on April 17th for about 30 people. It would require the restaurant opening about two hours ahead of their normal opening. Matthew said absolutely - just check in with him when I checked into the hotel. I then made my reservation for a room through national reservation desk. Nick, the local manager called me later that evening. I drove almost 7 hours through a blizzard to get to Milwaukee. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk so I went into the pizza restaurant to speak with Matthew. I was advised that he had been let go two days prior. I was told to speak with Julia. I did and she informed me that they don't open until 3 pm. I fussed at her that I had an arrangement. She just kept insisting they don't open until 3 pm. I asked is there no way? She replied no. I went up to the lobby to speak with Nick. His only option was that I not check in at all. After having driven 7 hours through a blizzard I was not interested in getting back in my car to try and find someplace to accommodate me. There was absolutely NO customer service.

    « Great stay. »

I was out here for work and stayed at a different major hotel for the week but unexpectedly had to stay another day. I found the best western. The breakfast that is offered here is better than any other hotel I've stayed at.

    « Let's go Brewers!! »

We stay at this hotel every time to go to Miller Park! The hotel staff is great and the rooms are always nice! We love hanging out at the bar downstairs before and after the games. If you want good service, ask for Janette she's awesome! If you want crappy service then Matt is your guy. Unprofessional, rude and not friendly at all. I want to give a 5 because everything else about this hotel is great but he nearly ruined the high we had from winning Friday night :( and what's up with no pizza after 11pm?

« Love this location.. Just not new staff at bar »

Love this location and the hotel, my husband and I have been coming here for the last 10 years for Brewer games. They have a couple of new staff members in the bar lounge area and they were very disrespectful. Was not very welcoming like it always has been in the past.

    « Cubs Game! »

We traveled to Milwaukee to see the Chicago Cubs play the Milwaukee Brewers. This hotel was very close to the ballpark. The rooms were updated and clean and the breakfast good. We would stay here again.

« Trip to Brewers Game »

We had a great experience from hotel room to restaurant, free breakfast which was incredible. The location was perfect as we went to the Brewers game and it was only 1 mile away. We could have walked to the game if we were not tailgating. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Clean and friendly! »

Proximity to Miller Park and V.A. Med Center is very handy. The hotel, our room, lounge/restaurant and pool area were clean. Nick, at the front desk, was very helpful and efficient at check-in. Bar/restaurant staff was efficient and fun. The two entrees we ordered were cooked properly and delicious. The pizza looked and smelled yummy. From National Avenue, there is no left turn onto Miller Park Way, so check at hotel for best route into Miller Park, don't assume! Parking lot is small.

    « Never Again! »

Think again if you're in the Milwaukee area. Upon check-in the room wreaked of smoke. It was opening day of baseball so all the rooms were booked. When we went to use the shower the soap was left in the room from the previous renter and the floor was very sticky. The next morning we discovered glass that was broken on the bathroom floor. When I asked the manager to come up she said it would take 30 minutes for maintenance of housekeeping to come in and clean up the area. Needless to say most of my family didn't even use the showers due to the filthy condition. I could over hear the conversation from the GM to her district manager and she said that we lied about the soap because it did not have the "Best Western" logo on it. In my 20 years of hotel management and travels this is the worst place yet! We will not be coming back due to safety concerns of wires hanging down from the ceiling where the smoke detector was supposed to be.

    « Milwaukee's West Gem »

The hotel has a great staff, perfect location that is close to everything. Accessible by public transportation, onsite parking, pool and restaurant onsite. Downtown, Walker's Point, Third Ward, Grand Ave and plenty of places to eat are just a short drive from the hotel. VA Hospital and Clinic short walk.

« Comfortable, updated rooms, great pool »

This hotel has obviously been updated- the rooms and bathrooms are quite lovely and comfortable. The pool was large and in good condition- beautiful tile around the pool, with plenty of seating and tables on the pool deck. The breakfast was nice and varied, although my son was hoping for plain scrambled eggs, but there weren't any. He enjoyed the pancake machine, though- I hadn't seen one of those before. There was a good assortment of breads, muffins, bagels, croissants, donuts, cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, biscuits and gravy, sausages, tortillas, and a hash brown scramble. There was a coffee machine with a big variety of flavors, and 4 different juices. Very nice. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. One complaint was that the walls were definitely not soundproof- we could hear people's doors closing noisily. But it wasn't a problem when we were trying to go to sleep. Also- the laminated information cards in the room state that there are pool towels available in the pool area, but there aren't. They are actually in the closet in the rooms, so the cards need to be updated. Fairly minor issue.

« Friendly & efficient staff with a great breakfast in a noisy hotel »

We have stayed at this location several times, but this time it will likely have been our last. Despite the friendly service in the reception, the breakfast area and in the lounge and restaurant, the noise from the parking lot and the people who walked non-stop like elephants above us was too much this time. Also, we had an upgraded king room with a lovely kitchen, but the huge room lacks useful furniture. The tiny round table outside the kitchen is good for nothing much. There is no desk and chair. There is no dresser or furniture for luggage. The room has one small lounge chair with no foot rest. There were no luggage racks. The two reading lights next to the bed our ultra-modern in style with no shades. The bright lights are annoying. The room is huge but really needs practical furniture.

« Best Hotel Experience Ever! »

At the cost for this hotel, I have never had a better hotel experience. Ever. The staff was amazing. Nick, who manages the night shift, was professional and above my expectations in customer service. The complementary breakfast was unbelievable; the selection, cleanliness, and staff were above and beyond anything I've ever experienced at any hotel anywhere. The pool and hot tub were superior. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and stylish. The location is excellent for Milwaukee area! Safe, relatively quiet (especially with the complementary ear plugs), and close to everything. From now on, I will be staying at this hotel every time I visit Milwaukee.

    « Horrible »

From trying to book on line and having it messed up. I called in to the hotel itself. I booked two rooms. Plans changed and when I tried to cancel one room. They told me it had been done thru bookings.com. who has no records of this transaction. Then they told me it was a pre-approval paid room and promptly billed my credit card. ( This was a month after I booked it, how was it prepaid? ) The person in the other room did make it. Then when we get there the manager tells me he is giving us $20 off per room, for the miss understanding. That never happened. I was upgraded to a different room, never asked for it, didn't care I only wanted a place to sleep. Room 1 had an empty beer box sitting in the closet. Nice cleaning. She also got someone pounding on her door at 3 am. Room 2, big, TV remote only worked from 4' away. Room was dirty. Floors not clean. Also it's next to an alley, by an apartment complex . 2 nights in a row when the bar let's out it becomes a scream fest from the drunk. The parking is pathetic. You fight for a spot with the apartment or park on the street. The wifi is so slow it's not worth the try. The general manager asked about my stay. I told her I would rather not say. I wasn't going to make anymore issue out if it. She insisted. I told her. She instantly coped an attitude. I asked how she was the GM when the other guy told me he was? She kept saying it was a bookings.com problem and they upgraded me. Like that was some big deal. I spent less than 6 hours a day in the room and that was to sleep. The bed was like concrete. She then told me the other room was compensated for not cleaning. I never asked for it. But I also never got it. The hotel is in a horrible area. Residential, busy road, no parking. The part that's even more poorer, is the management. The GM, doesn't care one bit. She will try to appease you just to get you to go away. Then not follow up on it. Had she not insisted , I was willing just to be quiet and go away

« Nice place to relax and have a good breakfast the next morning. »

We are from this city and this is by far the best hotel that we have stayed thus far that is quiet, clean, staff are courteous, pool is clean, room is clean and bed is comfortable. I will recommend it for a nice get away.

    « Horrible, noisy, unhelpful »

Don't stay hear unless you want a terrible night's sleep, hearing police knock on your neighbor's door at midnight, and unhelpful management who accuses you of things you never said and ultimately puts the blame on you. Never staying here again.

« Nice place to stay near to downtown »

« Best Bang for the Price »

Excellent value for the price. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi actually works too. Breakfast was an actual hot meal with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and bacon. Only minor thing was the "queen" beds are actually full.

« Extemely helpful friendly staff! »

We were really surprised how close this was to downtown and discovery that you could practically hit Miller Park with a stone. We will definitely be back to watch the Cubbies beat up on the Brewers! Also tooo very close to Potawatomi (unfortunately. (:-)

    « Great Stay »

Booking here was last minute since the Hilton hotel lost our reservation. It was half the cost and the staff was excellent only issue was the bartender Jeanette she was very rude and always made sure I was last to be served which is sad but hey despite her my experience with the hotel was great along with the other awesome staff this is now my get away spot and it's close to home so convenient considering I ride the bus. I recommend this hotel to anyone oh and FYI pool and jacuzzi area is off the chain

« A great place to receive the new year! »

Updated hotel, staff is amazing and helpful. Easy free parking. The bar and grill has really good food and prices are good. The hotel upgrades are great, compare to the last time I stayed here around 3 years ago. I definitely recommend it. ??

« Best best Western in Milwaukee »

Beautiful rooms and friendly staff. Highly recommend. Hot tub wasn't working and would prefer breakfast to start a little earlier so I can eat before work but overall will definitely stay here again. I work in Milwaukee and travel every week and I have found for the price and quality I can't get anything better

    « Great Hotel »

This hotel was very nice. It looked like it was recently renovated and it was very clean. The bathroom had a deep jetted tub! The staff were friendly and helpful. Internet worked well and had a great system if you needed to print documents from your room! The only small ding was I could hear the floor above me creaking whenever they walked around upstairs. Not a big deal though. The breakfast overall was fantastic. The only negative I would give is the pancakes were little rubber discs but everything else was very good. They had the best selection I've seen in a long time. I really loved the fact that they gave you the option to use real dishware vs just disposable. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Milwaukee!

    « Wouldn't stay again »

So many issues while we stayed for the weekend. The fire Alarms going off and pounding on floors. parking lot is a so bad no were to park and getting out when you do find a parking spot is a nightmare. front desk staff was poorly dressed ( one lady had her shirt to big or not put on right could see her bra and shoulder was exposed when clearly that not how the shirt was supposed to be) not friendly at all ,keys were a problem and the front desk lady said well a man build this hotel in the middle of a parking lot what did you expect just keep trying it will work after a while, housekeeping and breakfast crew were wonderful and nice , the breakfast food had a nice selection and the pool /whirlpool was nice but doesn't cancel the negative of this hotel. the elevator and bathrooms are really small and they should really look into a ram or something to pool room as if stairs are a problem it's hard to get to the pool room due to stairs being your only option.bar and grill restaurant well no menu to be found in room and front desk has none either and the bar has paper written on one but not enough for a table of 7. Had a issue with bar comes in they ask if all my kids are wearing shoes due to my daughter on her robe on her as we had just got done swimming and she was cold i said yes they are all wearing shoe and she asked if i was placing an order to go back to the room i said was looking to eat down here with my family she looked around there were three empty tables to our left and a entire back lounge area empty gives me a dirty look and says well i guess i could put those tables together so i put menu back on bar and told her we would just get food somewhere else and went to walk away were she got a attitude and said to another guest all because i asked her if her kids had shoes so i turn around and made it clear it was not because you asked if they had shoes it was the attitude of this place ,it was the attitude we got because my family wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant and not try to eat in a small room. got to the elevator and the employee working the bar/grill said she was sorry and wanted us to eat there she pretty much explained that this isn't really set up for family but was willing to let us my kids were hungry so we try it out even though i was still very upset , she forgot my drink and the burgers were so gross they smelled like old grease that need to be changed(burger had fried mushrooms on it) my son didn't eat it and she took them off the receipt the pizza was good and prices were bad. i appreciate her trying after the fact but if you are apart of a hotel were family stay you should treat them as well as you do your other guest not like a inconvenience .

« BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES »

It was a pretty clean hotel but there were so many hidden fees. Just be ready to spend the extra money. Breakfast wasn't the best but definitely appreciated the almond milk option. Bartender wasn't the best at being behind the bar in order for us to order drinks.

Nice place, very friendly staff! Thanks to Becky for help out. It was a perfect place to stay for the night. Close in distance to the main road way and even had complimentary parking. There was a nice restaurant/bar on site and free breakfast as well.

    « Amazing!!! »

My experience was awesome and my room was very elegant and clean. I stayed for 2 weeks and they made me feel like i was at home. i had no worries about anything. I would recommend any one to stay there. Make sure you ask for this lady name Becky. she works at the front desk. She has great customer service and a great attitude and was going above and beyond the call of duty. I really appreciate her and the other workers as well. Whenever i needed anything they were there right away. My vehicle needed a jump and the workers took their own vehicle and gave me a jump. i thank them. Thank you Best Western West!

    « Great overnight! »

Our experience here was wonderful. Loved the decor. All updated, urban contemporary, very well done. The entire facility, including the restaurant, was clean and shiny. The food was great and reasonably priced. The breakfast wasn't a cheap continental and very adequate. Coffee was great! Parking was included! The front gal, Becky, was friendly and more than efficient. Thank you for such a nice place to stay.

« Nice Place and Friendly Staff »

This hotel was just right. Stayed two nights. With complimentary parking and a restaurant / bar on site was a great pleasure. The food was fantastic. Order the hamburgers and the Pizza is great. The room was plenty large enough. Modern USB charging hubs, refrigerator & microwave. Cleanliness was good all around. Loved the fresh cookies at the check in . Breakfast served at 6:30 a.m. so we had to miss it. Was scheduled at work. Would have been nice if Breakfast started at 6 a.m.

« Horrible customer service from evening front desk clerk and manager »

The hotel was clean which was pleasing when we first got there. We had booked our whirlpool suite through the hotel for my 50th birthday and was told we were guaranteed the room because we had not used any outside discounts or booked online. We even had the confirmation e-mail which showed our room and price. Because we had booked through hotel itself, we were sent an early check-in e-mail to give our information to make check-in easier and faster and also told them what time we would be arriving which we were on time. We should have known something was up when we checked in because the front desk clerk did not show us or tell us what our room was and asked for the information that we already provided the night before. We were a little taken aback as she sat at the desk like she was on break, slamming food into her mouth and talking to us while chewing. We get up to our room and see that we do not have a whirlpool suite but a kitchenette room instead. And it was cold in there. My husband turned the heat on and I went back to the front desk and informed the front desk lady, who was still munching on food, that we were not in the correct room which was supposed to be a whirlpool suite. Now she was snide with me and said we hadn't booked a whirlpool room but a kitchenette and it was right on her screen. I asked to see the screen and she would not let me. Still being polite, I told her there was confusion because we had not booked a kitchenette and that we had booked through their hotel via phone and we had a confirmation e-mail to prove it as well as the phone log. She said I was wrong and must not have done it right. I told her I had the e-mail to prove it and she said that might help but she was getting the manager which I said was great! I brought my husband down and the manager met with us and explained that because we booked online, we told him we had not, he said someone else got that room because they had booked a whirlpool suite online and because we had also booked online and used a special discount (we told him again we had booked through the hotel and did not use a discount, we paid for the room and were guaranteed it because we booked through the hotel) and he said the other people had e-mail confirmation as well. And since we used that special discount and they had given us a lot lower price (which they didn't and we had the e-mail to prove it) we were the first to lose our whirlpool suite and were given the kitchenette to make up for it. We again told him he was wrong, that we had indeed talked to the hotel reservation woman and she told us that we cold not use any outside discounts for the whirlpool suite so we didn't use them to guarantee we had the room. She then asked if we were there for a special occasion and my husband yes, we were coming there for my 50th birthday and that the whirlpool room would be special because we were going to get deep tissue massages and the whirlpool would be perfect for follow up to the massage treatment. She then gave us a couple of massage therapist referrals in Milwaukee. The manager told us he could do nothing for us at the hotel but give us a free drink at the bar or a free beer and to just tell the bartender that. He also said he had no other rooms available but he had lots of connections with other hotels in the area and would call one of them and get us a same rate whirlpool room but to give a about 10 minutes to do so. We said that would be great. He came back after 10 minutes and said he called the two hotels he could think of and neither had availability, that all of Milwaukee was booked. but he could give us his managers discount for our current room if that would help. and we said if we had wanted a standard room, we would have booked that but because we had bought tickets to a show that night, we would not be able to use the hotel hot tub because we would be back too late which was why we booked the whirlpool suite. He then said he would extend the pool hours for us for one hour, until 11 p.m. so we could use it when we got back from our show. We agreed that would be fine as long as it was open. We went back up to our room to get ready for dinner but the room was still cold and we called the front desk about it and she snottily said she'd get maintenance up there. The maintenance guy arrived and agreed the room was cold and asked if we had turned it on, we said yes but no heat came out and it had been on for an hour. He moved the furniture and said the heater had been turned off by the switch behind the desk/dresser console. He turned it on and it kicked in, so he left. We went to dinner and our show and came back to the hotel at 10:02 p.m. to check out the pool which has no directions anywhere in the lobby or hallways as to where the pool is..the only sign is in the stairway once you open the stairway door. ( I had to ask the front desk lady before we left for dinner, where it was and she laughed at me and told me I'd find it down any hallway if I opened the stair doors.) The pool was closed. We went to the front desk and asked the new front desk clerk if we could be let into the pool area until 11 as the manager had told us and he said he knew nothing about that and that the maintenance had closed it for the night and already put the chemicals in the pool. He apologized and said it would open in the morning. I then told him about our awful experience with the hotel thus far and he apologized again and said we would leave a note for the manager. So we went to our room and lo and behold, it was still cold. I walked to the front desk and told the clerk about it and he said he didn't know if the maintenance guy was available or not which he was because the same maintenance guy had just walked right past us. He said he needed to call the manager and see what to do about it. I stalked back to our room and my husband was on the phone with the front desk clerk who was telling my husband that they have every available maintenance person and the manager and him in our room to fix it but it would be a little while. Who the hell wants maintenance people in your room at 11 at night? That was the straw that broke the camels back. We said we wanted a full refund, which was given to us and we drove the 1.6 hours back to our home. Not once did the manager apologize for their screw up. Instead he kept throwing out scenarios in which we were the guilty ones for not getting the room we wanted, all of which were blatantly proven to be false. Do not stay at this hotel. The manager and lady front desk clerk are shoddy. We will never stay in a Best Western hotel again. Had a similar experience with shoddy management in Kenosha at their Best Western.

« Good for VA matters »

Hotel is right across the street from VA benefits office and up the street from VA Hospital. It is an excellent place to stay if going in for VA matters. Bar and grill downstairs has good dinner options and free breakfast in the morning. Hotel gives discount if you have VA business and have a letter from the VA.

My stay was for our model railroad clubs' annual display at Trainfest. Several members have stayed at this location for this event over the past 25 years. I had made a reservation approximately 3 months in advance and had checked in online the day before my arrival. When I arrived, I was given a room that was already occupied by another guest. When I returned to the front desk and advised the clerk of the circumstances, he seemed very confused as to what his next actions should be. After waiting approximately 30 mins for the clerk to figure out what to do next, I was given a room that was not what I had requested. It was still a nice room and was suitable for my stay. On the second evening of my stay, I had to have a new room key because the one I had originally received would not reopen the room on my arrival. I was not impressed by the clerk at check in nor the problem with my room key on the second evening of my stay. Fortunately, the day clerk on duty when I checked out was cheerful and friendly and did what she could to make that experience pleasant.

« Would stay again in a heartbeat! »

Great hotel, very nicely decorated-modern rooms. Loved the free wi-fi, great speed. Amazing breakfast, it had many hot and cold options- even including almond milk-I haven't seen that very often! Also was located pretty close to a lot of activities we did, nice location! The only downside was that there was a funny odor every time we walked into the hotel parking level, and then again once we walked into our room. You get used to it within the first minute, so we kept our A/C on to help circulate the air. Other than that I would highly recommend!! Great overall value and great experience!

« Clean rooms friendly staff nicely decorated. »

Hotel has been remolded in the last year. Lots of large towels in the room as well as pillows Rooms are tastefully decorated, very clean, well appointed. Huge TV in room. Good wireless connection, every staff member was smiling, greeted us and wanted to be helpful in any way. Property is across from the VA hospital, very close to the Brewer ball park, Quick 5-10 minute drive downtown. Parking was easy during our stay.

Great place to stay, clean, comfortable, and nice breakfast included. Free parking and a quick Uber ride to downtown Milwaukee. Really close to Miller Park and the VA hospital. Several neighborhood bars and restaurants within walking distance. Safe location!

    « Really great people »

Made very welcome, room was ultra clean and bright with two standard double beds small eating area with table and untility bathroom. Some work going on on next floor up so was a little noisy on and off during the day but they have to do it at some point. Staff all very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Only issue is car parking is short in numbers and finding a space is a lottery when returning late. The National Pizza pub and grille on the lower floor provided good quality and fair priced food served with flair by Angela!

    « Great value! »

This hotel is not quite in downtown Milwaukee but is very close to everything we were doing and you cannot beat the price! Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, bed was comfy, breakfast was great! Parking was a little tight in the evenings but the front desk staff informed us we could park in the "no parking" areas directly in front of the hotel so that was helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are spending time anywhere near downtown Milwaukee!

Very friendly helpful staff! We were going to a Brewers games and had a wonderful stay! The staff assisted us in directions to walk to the Miller Park which was a short distance instead of using Uber or a taxi. It worked out beautifully!

« Breakfast and room were great! »

We found our room to be large and nicely furnished, enjoying the end of the hall seclusion (Rm 121) which was quiet. We loved the much more extensive than usual breakfast which has additional seating in the bar. We agree that the elevator was way too small but we didn't need to worry since we were 6 stairs from the lobby. If we'd have gotten a slightly better rate than $110, I'd have given it 5 stars for value but regardless, we'd easily stay there again.

    « 5 star staff »

Hard to explain how or why this location made a 2 day stay such a fun experience. First the facilities were all above average. Clean room somewhat bigger than usual with fridge, stove, microwave and big flat screen tv. Great free breakfast. Great bar and food. Walking distance to Miller Park. Restaurants and shopping close by. But for all the great amenities what sets this place apart for me is a staff that are way above average from the fun and friendly receptionist to the Angel of a bartender these folks know how to make you feel welcome.

Great hotel. Nice walk to Miller Park. Interior decor was great. Staff very helpful. The parking was a little right (small spaces for our truck) but it worked. Overall, it was a great value and agood experience.

    « Will end review on a positive! :) »

Okay, odd floor plan! Like, who was the architect? They have a beautiful lobby, with a grand sliding door, that cannot be accessed from the parking lot without a pass key. So, you have to walk up and around the building to step down and into the lobby. Just weird. The elevator is oddly shaped and barely fits 5 adults. Again, weird. On the positive, the pool area is gorgeous! Great room temperature. No music playing, like in other hotels, but no biggie. Also, the hotel does not offer complementary towels in the pool area. They provide two in your room in the closet, if needed. We asked the front desk, and the gentleman walked two more towels over to us, since there were four of us on this visit. Very nice staff. The pool was fresh, big, and well lit. Has a nice outdoor private sitting area. Has a restaurant and bar that we were unable to visit, but the atmosphere was vibrant and the food smelled great! The room was beautiful. Thank goodness the bathroom had an exhaust fan, as the other two hotels we visited on this trip did not. Mirror still fogged up, but it happens. You get four hot buffet passes with your stay! Pretty neat! Only advice, remember to ask for a refund for the room safe, or you'll get charged, even if you didn't use it. It's a little on the petty side to charge a room for it, if it's not something you're accustomed to using. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave. That was helpful! Overall, great place! Comfy beds! Modern decor and very clean! 5 stars.

Staff not overly friendly. Appearance and room decor nice. Highly overpriced for quality of staff and the room. Next time we will research our hotels better. We booked due to the closeness to Miller Park

The hotel was clean and inviting; and the staff was accommodating. Our request for early check-in was granted as soon as they could do it. Breakfast was good! Check-in and check-out both were quick and easy.

« Good value for the price. »

The room was very roomy, carpets were clean and the bedding was in great shape. The breakfast was good quality and well tended by staff. The resteraunt and lounge were nice amenities. Parking wa a little tight but in this part of town this is to be expected.

Great location for the baseball game, 15 minute walk to Miller Park. Poor customer service, room had an odor, no housekeeping showed up to clean our room, room wasn't ready for check in, only one ice machine, it's on the first floor.

The hotel is close to the Miller Ball Field. You can walk, drive or take a taxi to the game. The hotel is close to shopping and restaurants. It has been newly renovated and it looks great. We have stayed here in the past and would stay here again with no problem. Have recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Loved the hotel and staff went out of way to be helpful. The location worked well, required travel was easy access. The room had all you could want and more. I booked through phone and the agent was informative and accommodating. Desk agents were informative and had awesome personalities. We got a pizza from National Grille Pub and Pizza downstairs - it was yummy, they were friendly, convenient and and priced more than reasonably. Overall I spent $120 total for everything. It's very nice there is parking on site at no extra charge.

    « A definite YES, with a few exceptions. »

You definitely get to know a hotel when staying for 4 nights. A great location. Close to Miller Park, VA, casino, Miller Brewery, Harley Museum. Half hour from Harley factory. Nicely updated. Clean and bright. Room with one King bed a bit tight but comfy. Bed and pillows perfect. A bit of noise from parking lot with late arrivals esp. motorcycles. Bathrooms are small. However, great shower head and oversized thirsty towels make up for lack of space. Bar and restaurant on site were welcoming, fun and food excellent. Complimentary breakfast was way above our expectations. Reason not to give 5 stars..no guest laundry ( a most for a motorcycle friendly hotel) and one rude staff member. We came back to room at 3:30 to freshen up to go back out on town and room was not cleaned. When I called front desk Ken was very unsympathetic. It took another 20 minutes to get housekeeping to our room. .

    « Exceeded expectations »

Appeared to be newly rehabed: fresh and updated paint colors throughout, carpeting, all decorating, furnishings, linens etc. The rehab also appears to be high quality. We had never stayed here before this visit. It was extremly clean in rooms and common areas. I have very high standards. Bed and pillows were very soft and comfy yet mattress was supportive. Seems solidly built and fairly soundproof. Room was spacious. Included fridge, mircro, safe, single coffee / tea maker. We did not use pool or view it at all. Room was on 3rd floor -had easy access to elevator and stairs. Ample luggage carts to use. Had on site restaurant and bar which was nicely decorated. We did not order food. Took part in the complimentary breakfast buffet for our 3 day stay which was served in the restaurant area. Only issue was the eggs/potatoes/meats could have been hotter. It included: scrambled eggs plain or with cheese, potatoes, 2 meats, cold cerals, breads for toasting, donuts or pastries, hot oatmeal machine, hot pancake machine, cut up fresh fruit-berries, melon or take with banana/apples, yogurt machine out of service but 1 out of the 3 days they had a container of yougert, full selection of beverages. The food was ample, self serve, multiple trips allowed. The time we ate on Sunday was later and it was quite busy -they had trouble keeping utensils stocked and hot food was running short. Our only minor complaint but the other 2 days we had ample supply of everything. All staff we encountered was courteous and helpful. Location was very convienent to freeways and Miller Park. Our event was at the Indian summer fest grounds about 5 miles away. Plenty of fast food and a grocery store blocks away. Only about 1 block from VA medical center. Pleasant experience and would stay again in a heartbeat.

    « Comfy and clean! »

This place has been recently remodeled and is super nice! Almost boutique like. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy, plenty of space, and we even had extra towels, pillows, and blankets in the room so no need to call the front desk! They even provided earplugs in the room, which we didn't need, but I could see needing used if there was a late night baseball game as it's only a couple blocks from the Brewers stadium. There were 6 fluffy pillows on the king size bed, which I loved! There's USB and regular plugs on both nightstands so plenty of charging spots. The bathroom is nice and has a built in nightlight on the hair dryer holder so it's easy to find in the dark. The younger African American gentleman at the front desk (because I suck at names) was amazing! He gave us ideas of places to go and was extremely friendly. And was patient with my checkout travel cards that needed applied. The breakfast was stellar! You got tickets and went to the bar/restaurant downstairs. There was hot food (eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes) and then lots of bread and muffin choices as well as cereal, donuts and pastries. Coffee, milks, juice, and milk we're all available to drink. And the breakfast workers were really nice and pleasant. The only issue I have with this place, other than the elevator is tiny, is the parking situation. There's an apartment building connected to the back of it and if the courtyard parking is taken by hotel guests you need to find a place to park around the complex. And it can be a bit of a walk. As long as you have the parking pass you can park anywhere. A nice hotel in a decent neighborhood. Not a lot going on around the area. Comfy and clean. Would definitely stay here again!

« Great Place to Stay! »

The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the staff is a group of the nicest and most accommodating people who make you feel like you matter. The location is perfect, close enough to downtown but not too close and plenty of stores and good restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this hotel!

    « Awesome staff »

We were there two days. Every person on staff went out of their way to help us. The breakfast was way above the normal and different both day. We loved the pool. It even has free water so bring down a bottle. It's set up different than most best western but I fell in love with the charm of it. The beds are soft with a pillow top. The little kitchen sure is nice if you want to stay a while . It even has cups plates and silverware I read a lot of reviews that were negative and I see what they mean. But the way we were treated made up for all the little picky things. Very clean and I felt very safe for being in a big town.

    « Very nice hotel »

I love this hotel. The rooms are modern and clean, free breakfast and they have nice pool and hot tub. The only downside was the difficult parking especially in the evening time. It was difficult to find a parking spot. Overall we had a pleasant stay and will definitely stay again if we visit Milwaukee.

    « Milwaukee Experience »

The hotel was nice and up-to-date. The room was nice and exceeded our expectations; the kitchen nook was a nice touch, which allowed us to store left over items in the refrigerator or purchase items and have the ability to store the items. The microwave and stove were both a pleasant surprise and allowed us several more options for snack and food items. The room was spacious and never felt we were walking into each other during our entire stay. The updated room was nice too.

« Don't let first glances fool you »

This hotel is near the baseball stadium and the VA hospital. On the outside it appears old and tired, as do many of the homes and businesses on this main thoroughfare. However, inside the lobby is bright and cheerful and the staff is helpful when they appear. The rooms were roomy enough and everything was up-to-date and comfortable. The wi-fi was quick. There is a nice poo; and hot tub indoors, as well as a well-fitted workout room. The breakfast room is the hotel restaurant and the food is plentiful and there is a large variety for breakfast foods, all warm ,or cold, as they should be. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night and the pizza is outstanding. The other menu items are very good, with typical Wisconsin oversized servings. The parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver and sometimes there is not enough parking and you have to use the apartment complex' lot next door.

    « 2 night prepaid stay ... a BIG mistake »

Plain and Simple ! For the money spent not worth it. 1. For the 2 days and 2 nights we've stayed here the bathroom sink has been stopped up. 2. TV has no guide 3. The air conditioner is so noisy the room automatically comes with ear plugs 4. With the air conditioner running do not turn on the hair dryer which is provided in the bathroom. If you do, which we did, you'll lose power and sit in darkness. Guess you also better not try ironing if the air conditioner is on. 5. When we called to the front desk with this issue got a matter of fact who cares attitude from who ever answered the phone. 6. Do I need to say ... " stay someplace else".

    « Updates are nice »

Updated hotel, inside looks nice with the colors and decor. Bar is updated as well, looks nice in there too. Breakfast area bigger and lots of options. We booked a king room. Small room, small bathroom. Comfortable though. The rooms with double beds are larger, will book that type of room next time just for a little more space. Pool area is very large, nice and clean. No towels in the pool room, grab the towels from the closet and bring those with you. 15-20 min walk to Miller Park. A couple negatives: Parking area is tight fit for bigger vehicles. Called at noon requesting an early check-in. The lady responded "no ma'am". they aren't able to do that, but I could stop in between 2p and 3p and they'd be able to accommodate. We arrived at 150p, asked for an early check in and was told I couldn't check in until 3p, that's what my room was guaranteed for. My husband and I went downstairs to the bar to grab a drink and pass the time. I received a phone call 15 minutes later and came up to the lobby to take it. While in the lobby the guy at the desk checked in 3 couples. I told him I had just asked about 15-20 minutes earlier about checking in, told him what I was told by the other lady, within seconds he looked at my reservation and said my room was ready. I believe the lady was at the end of her shift and wanted to get out of there. The hotels website mentions superior customer service, I'd say in this case the lady working fell short on her phone and in person customer service. The gentleman who checked us in, and everyone else at the hotel, did a great job during our stay! Will stay at this hotel again when we go for more brewers games in the future.

« Best Miller Park location »

We have stayed at this property many times. It is the best hotel location for Miller Park as it is about a 20 min walk thru the VA grounds and a park to the stadium. Many people make the walk and I have generally felt safe though I wouldn't recommend walking alone. This is an old Best Western that has been completely renovated in the last year both common area and rooms. It is not new or fancy but clean, updated and all the staff I have ever encountered are friendly and helpful. I believe the restaurant is owned separately as you can not charge to your room. The food is good but service can be slow as they are often under staffed. Very nice breakfast for free. The only cautions I have are poor sound proofing. You can hear every noise from the halls. They provide ear plugs so I believe this is a known problem they try to manage. Also this is a property that automatically ads a small fee for the safe in the room and you have to ask to have it removed from your bill if you don't use it. Overall this is a clean, updated and well run property with great access to Miller Park if you can walk a bit. No parking or traffic hassle , no worries about a few beers at the ball game and our favorite way to do a Brewers game.

    « Family trip »

We were there for a weekend trip with our granddaughter. The lady at the front desk wasn't the friendly type. Went to dinner downstairs in the restaurant. It started ok until our granddaughter dropped her fork and my husband's fork was dirty. We let the bartender know about it and then it was like she couldn't be bothered with us anymore. Her attitude changed and it looked like all she wanted to do was stay at the bar talking to the guys that were there. The housekeeping staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful The two other people at the front desk were very happy and friendly. After we checked out we realized a few hours later that we left a stuffed animal in the room. The lady at the front desk was wonderful. She had called me back within 10 minutes that they had found the stuffed animal for us. She had it waiting for us when we stopped back on our way out of town.

« Good for a night or two »

This hotel way newly renovated and very clean, and is probably a great option for a single night. We stayed three night as our family went to both cubs and cardinals games at miller park. We ate in the resturant one night and it was very good food. Our room wasn't ready when we check in at 5pm, but they gave us a room with a kitchenette. The room was large and clean, but extremly humid. Despite running the air conditor(which kept it cool)it never got any better. The internet only worked with any usefulness on our second night when there was no baseball games and a lot fewer guests. The breakfast was typical fare, although the coffee was the weakest I've ever had and the eggs were badly made the first morning I never tried them again. Issues with a large group of screaming kids in the pool made it far from relaxing. The hotel is attached to a apartment building and there were always a large number of doors unsecure during the day including the pool gate. We didn't have any issues, but I didn't feel the hotel was secure either. Although none of these issue were major after three days I was more than ready to leave this hotel.

« Great Place and Close »

Read more on TravelPhotosnFood.com We chose this hotel thru the Harley-Davidson Ride Planner and were glad we stayed here. We had a room with a jetted tub and kitchen that had a full size fridge (not those cheap little fridges that never get cold) since we were going to be staying for a few days. This was great for leftovers and freezing water bottles for our next day adventures. It's close to the ballpark, downtown and the Harley Museum. Also a must see is the Pabst Mansion, River Walk and City Hall, you will not be disappointed. There is a great pub / restaurant there that has some wonderful food. Sandwiches, Salads, Pizza and more. They staff was great and very friendly.

« Comfortable Stay and Kind Staff »

Overall, the hotel was a good choice. My room was clean, the restaurant downstairs was nice, and the location was convenient. But the staff's genuine care for guests' well being and their stay was the aspect that stood out the most. When I arrived, Becky at the front desk was both very kind and helpful with my reservation, and I appreciated her effort to ensure that everything was correct with my booking. First impressions are important to me, as they often indicate a hotel's level of quality.

    « Won't stay here again »

My wife and I stayed in this hotel because most of the activities we wanted to do in Milwaukee were on it's east side closer to the lake. We've stayed in Brookfield in the past, but thought this hotel would provide more convenient access. This hotel is located on National Ave - a major thoroughfare into and out of the city. You can also easily reach downtown via I-94 or Wisconsin Ave. It's also almost adjacent to Miller Park - the baseball venue. But that's about all this hotel has going for us. The hotel itself is quite large but it's, well, bland. The lobby is virtually non-existent and I didn't notice a business center/computer, though rooms have free wi-fi. There's a pizza bar/grill in the basement as well as a pool. The room we had was rather small, although the LCD TV was huge. It also had a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, hair dryer and safe. The shower was wonderful. But, and this is a big but, the heating/AC unit was incredibly noisy and it didn't matter what fan speed we picked, it just kept ROARING on every three minutes or so. We turned it off in order to sleep, but could hear the AC in other rooms. The hotel provides ear plugs, believe it or not, and now I know why. With the AC off, the room got close and the bed only had one thick blanket so it was a matter of freeze or fry. The breakfast - available at 6:30 AM - was the usual American fare - sausages, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toasts, cereals, yogurts and so forth. We actually checked out one night early because we couldn't bear the thought of trying to sleep with or without the air conditioner.

    « Milwaukee 2 night stay. »

We stayed at this location because of its proximity to Miller Ball Park. We found the staff to be friendly and the location to be within driving distance to many tourist locations. There were restaurants available within a short drive. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

    « Stayed with a smile ! »

Very nice whirlpool room. Breakfast was great. Plenty of eaterys to choose from. Not too far from the highway, yet quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. The employees there were great.I'll come back again!

« Nicely updated hotel but small beds »

They only offer double beds at this hotel if you need 2 beds in 1 room which I find too small for 2 people sharing a bed. The people above us were up all night and were constantly walking around. The floors creaked the whole time they walked and could hear their mumbling voices. The hotel decor has been nicely updated. Clean. Good location.

« Excellent locaton, good breakfast »

I had booked the room on Best Western website requesting a king bed. When I got to confirmation page, I noticed it was for 1 person and I needed for 2 but could not back up. Confirmation said I had a king bed. When checking in early with my husband standing there, I was told that the site sent a queen bed request. I suffer from a foot nerve issue which makes it difficult to rest in small bed but did not say anything as they were booked solid. When checking in later, we were given a handicap room which meant every time you went to the restroom, the lights came on and the fan which is really annoying during the night especially with not sleeping well because of the small bed and my foot nerve condition. The room was fine, nice décor, service was good, etc. My advice is to really check that you get what you requested. Can walk to Brewers game and to several restaurants.

    « What a Lovely Best Western ! »

It appears to have been renovated in the last few years and it's very comfortable. We're driving cross country so we're staying in a lot of hotels and this was the Best of all of them so far and affordable. The bed was comfortable, the towels were a good size, it was nice that they had a restaurant/bar on the premises which also doubled as the breakfast area. The breakfast has a good variety of food, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, yogurt, cereal, pancake machine, toast. Only a couple of things make me give it 4 stars instead of 5 and both are fixable. The internet was slow and intermittent. The first morning we were there we arrived 20 minutes before the end of breakfast and the staff was clearing away all the food already, so we had limited choices to eat. If you're going to advertise that breakfast is until 10am than leave the food out until 10am, if you want to clear it up at 9:45am than say it's only served until 9:45 ! All in all a better than good experience.

« Close to the museum »

Nice motel fairly close to the museum. Nice ride through town, friendly, helpful staff. Room was nice, everything worked correctly. The area was ok but Milwaukee is a good hardworking town and it shows!

« The best we have stayed in. »

This Was the best Best Western we have stayed in. Staff went above and beyond. They were very accommodating. The room was perfect. The breakfast, dining lounge served very good food, with a wide variety to choose from.

« Front desk staff pays attention! »

We checked in, had to change and hurry to a conference, accidentally left my purse in the lobby. Front desk attendant noticed it, secured it, called me to let me know. Could have been a disaster. So very grateful.

    « Dated but okay »

This Best Western is very dated, it could use a facelift for sure. The room I had was nice, bed was comfy, clean, huge bathroom. The room was renovated, but is still dated. Overall not bad, I would stay here again, but would also check out other options in the area.

    5
« Always stay here when we are in Milwaukee »

We stay here whenever we are in Milwaukee. It's close to the VA Hospital and you get a discount when you show them your appointment papers. We've stayed here when the Detroit Tigers used to play at Miller Park (but now sadly they don't). We like to stay here if we are going to a concert at the Bradly Center, it's less then a 10 minute drive from here. It's just a great place to stay and they have recently remodel their rooms and they look great and they're still comfortable too!! Overall you won't go wrong staying here. Just a little pricey during the summer months but still a good place to stay. You do get "Free" breakfast every morning included.

    « Awesome »

Our stay at this hotel was the first time. I would stay at this hotel every time I'm in this city. What a great place and the price was right for our family. The staff was very helpful. Great job you all !

    « Baseball Stay »

Excellent front desk staff, super clean rooms. The bar had good food but the speed of service needs a little work. Would recommend it to anyone who is going to a baseball game, it is easy walking distance.

    « Receipt »

I did not receive a receipt. Was told the computer was down. She asked for my email address and assured me she will send it as soon as the computer was up. I gave my name room number and email. I checked out sun it's now Thursday. Apparently guest are not important enough to get a common receipt. She could have given out a written receipt with Best Western letter head. Or better yet do what she said she would do.

« Best Western Milwaukee West »

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at this Best Western. The lobby and our room were very clean and comfortable. Check-in staff were friendly. Once the clerk knew we were on motorcycles, he informed us that we could park directly outside the main entrance (which is so appreciated by motorcyclists!). There is a restaurant/bar on site with very reasonably priced pizzas and a great selection of beer. Our king-sized bed was super comfortable. Free wifi. No complaints for this stay. Thank you!

    « Great Stay »

Located across from the VA Regional office and VA hospital. Within walking distance to Miller Park . Although the rooms are smaller it is a clean friendly environment with bar and restaurant located on the premises. Wouldn't hesitate to stay anytime we are in the area!

A most enjoyable time. Friendly and clean. Very helpful. Enjoyed the food in the lounge. Very close to the ballpark. Nice clean fitness center. Staff was knowledgeable. This place was a real treat. ***

    « Great »

The hotel was very clean. What a bonus for us that the room contained a full fridge and stove/oven, cutlery, dishes - everything you would need. Morning breakfast was fantastic and the staff working at it were so polite and prompt getting more food when it was needed! We were allowed to leave our vehicle in the parking lot, after the check out time, because we were attending a ball game at noon that day.

    5
« Perfect stay for Brewers games. »

This motel is perfect for attending Brewer games, as it is a short walk to Miller Park, which means not having to drive and... no parking fees! There are a couple bars to stop at on the way to/from the games, as well as the one in the motel. It would also be a very convenient stay if visiting the VA hospital. The hotel has been totally renovated in the past year.... it is clean and well-equipped.

    4
    « Good value. »

Overall, our experience was good with the quality of accommodation. Large pool area. Only 1 elevator. Parking was very limited, however, location worked great for attending a ball game at Miller Park. Price was reasonable. Room accommodated 5 people. Breakfast was average - variety of offerings; good coffee. Would stay there again.

    « Wonderful hotel »

This hotel was recently renovated. The stay was wonderful. They provide all the toiletries needed, and more (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, bar soap). There are ample towels in the room, and they are of good quality. They provide ear plugs in case we need them (we didn't, it wasn't noisy at all). The front desk is staffed with very nice people. The hot breakfast offered all items (eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage, potatoes, potatoes with cheese, pancakes, and the cereal, oatmeal, the usual). They even had chocolate milk. The cost of the hotel was lower than any other in the area. I will definitely stay again.

    4
    « Nice location/hotel »

Nice hotel, good location, for getting around. Breakfast great variety of items, also the chocolate chip cookies were a great perk. (didn't expect them). Thanks!! We took the Amtrak train, it was convenient to get a rent a car while there.

« Milwaukee West is the BEST! »

Great Best Western. Food, employees and rooms were great!! The pub downstairs is awesome. Will be back again in August. Only problem is parking and getting in/out of motel area. Also breakfast was hot and tasty. Did not use pool. We were there for Brewer baseball. Stadium within walking distance.

« Miller Park Road Trip »

My friends and I stayed two nights while visiting Brewer Park on our 2017 Road Trip. We always look for accommodations close to the park and reasonably priced. This property fit the bill perfectly. It was about a mile from the Park, once we walked along the main road, and the second time we cut thru the Veterans Hospital Campus. Either way was not that bad and we felt totally safe. The hotel itself appears to have been recently updated, our room was clean and adequate for the amount of time we spent there. There is a pub/restaurant in the lower level, it also doubles as the breakfast area. Didn't eat there other than having the complimentary breakfast which was actually not that bad! Encountered several members of the staff and they were all quite friendly. The only negative thing I would have to say about this place is the elevator, it's small and slow, but I have no issue using the stairs. Did several Ubers to and from downtown and they were all less than $12, airport was less than $30 for the three of us. All and all I would recommend this property for any one who is more interested in a budgeted stay vs luxury!

    5
    « Comfortable and a good price »

We had a very comfortable stay at a good price. The staff was, very friendly and helpful, specifically Becky at the front desk and Brooke in the Pizza Pub. The food was delicious, the drinks eere good. The room was very comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again ehen visiting the area.

« Fantastic Place to Stay for Ball Games »

A nice place to stay, friendly and accommodating staff, nice breakfast, with a restaurant/bar downstairs that offers a wide menu, and many drink specials. A short walk to Miller Field to attend the ball game, and is on a major bus route that can take you downtown.

    5
    « Sweet Location! »

Nice, safe walk to Miller Park! We were worried after reading previous reviews, but after talking to the front desk, being reassured, meeting other guests at the hotel heading to the stadium, and given a map, we gave it a try. WHAT A NICE WALK!!! We walked to and back from the game BOTH Saturday night (after the Star Wars Lights Show, about 1030pm walking back) and Sunday ( walking back about 5pm after the kids ran the bases!!!). MUST check out 4th Base!!!!!

    5
« Nice stay! And cheap!! »

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night only. My daughter had a dance competition in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were an added perk! And the free "full" breakfast was definitely great!

« Remodelling of this motel is very nice »

The is an older motel very close to Miller Park that has completely been remodeled. The rooms are very nice. There is an excellent complimentary breakfasts served each morning. I would stay here again, especially if I was going to a baseball game or other event at the park.

    5
« You'll have to look for this one, but well worth the find... »

They were renovating when I was there, that being said, it was still an AWESOME place to stay!! The staff was soooo inviting and informative as to where to go for dinner and entertainment. The rooms were very clean and bed was comfy!! My tile floor in the entry and bathroom was heated!!! Since I was there in Feb. that made it nice for the morning shower. The breakfast was one of the BEST I've seen or had. I'm going to give it a 5 star rating along with the on site bar. Surprisingly quiet for being right off a busy street. The only downfall I could see with the location was the parking.

    5
    « Brewers Game weekend »

EXCELLANT service.... Wonderful staff. Newly remodeled rooms. Great location if you are going to to a Brewers game or visiting someone at the Hospital. The staff had wonderful recommendations for things to see and do while in Milwaukee. The Bar / restaurant is very nice. Complimentary breakfast in the AM. Well lit parking lot with security cameras. Overall experience was awesome and will definitely will return!!!!

Great smiles and service from all employees of this hotel. We loved the extensive remodeling done, it looks great! This hotel is super. Super check in staff, super clean, super comfy bed, super comfy pillows, BIG soft bath towels. But I am disappointed to say they don't serve coffee in the morning until 6:30 a.m. I was off to my job before they had coffee available.

    « Pleasantly impressed!! »

Loved the fact that it is located within walking distance of Miller Park!! We were greeted with a friendly hello by every staff member we approached. Gave very welcoming vibe. The selection at the breakfast offered in the am was excellent and filling for my 2 six foot 3 teenage boys!!

« Great Place to Stay! »

The staff was great, the service was even better. The rooms are decorated beautifully, the beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms were so clean. I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast wasn't bad, but the pancake maker doesn't make very good pancakes other than that I only have great things to say about this Best Western location.

    5
    « Wonderful Staff »

I want to mention my appreciation to staff member, Laquita, for the extra attention she provided while I was making reservations for our upcoming trip. Laquita remembered our group from a previous stay and she has been very attentive to our needs.

« Fun place to stay in Milwaukee »

This is always my first choice of lodging in Milwaukee. Great service from some really nice people, with a smile. Always easy to park to with my trailer out front. Never have any complaint. Food is great in the lounge!

    2
« Not the friendliest check in staff. No personality for much of the staff. Service in the bar/restaurant was very slow. »

Not a great location and the parking is poor. Noise level is incredibly loud. If you were unlucky enough to stay on the first floor, you were lucky to get any sleep. The staff was also extremely loud through the night.

    4
« Perfect place to stay for a baseball game! »

We were part of a group visiting Milwaukee to watch the Cubs take on the Brewers. Easy walk to the ball park, room renovations were great, the bar and lounge area downstairs were very nice and the staff was very friendly.

Great location for ball park. Very friendly staff, newly renovated, very nice breakfast. Only issue is noise from room above. Get top (third) floor and your stay will be outstanding. Outstanding value.

    « Our "senior" approval »

We were happy to stay in a newly redecorated room! Very modern deco! (only we have to say, the bed was a bit high to get into- but very comfortable once we did!) Great new elevators. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast choices and presentation - only it does feel like a basement level, which it is in. Be great place to stay to visit Woods VA hospital.

    5
    « Rustic Stay »

older building being revamped. Rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast is real and not from a bag and a very quaint restaurant - bar in the basement. Never have to leave the building once you check-in. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

    « Would stay again »

Very clean and recently redecorated. Breakfast was great, eggs bacon pancakes and much more. Pool was nice. Quite stay. But internet connection was poor. Could not connect in pool room or 3rd floor. And restaurant at night was slow. Made us late for our event.

    5
    « Pleasantly suprised »

We had to check in late at this hotel. We are not from the city so we were a little nervous being out and about in the city late at night. Because of the small parking, check in area and the older look of the hotel we were a little nervous what we would get when we got inside. When we got to the room I was so pleasantly surprised by clean modern very chic looking appliances and bathroom. I am impressed the steps the BW are taking to get back on track with some of there older locations. Kudos to the staff and downtown Milwaukee.

    « Woods view Inn »

Stayed at this location while exhibiting at Trainfest. Hotel was clean and recently remodeled. Staff was friendly as always. Room was clean and quiet and all amenities worked properly. Restaurant was good...service a little slow because of number of guests eating at restaurant. Bar service was good. Breakfast was fresh and of good quality. Overall, a very good place to stay!

    5
    « Very friendly »

My husband had an appointment at the VA hospital/clinic so we choose BW. As it turned out the hospital was right across the street and we received a Veterans discount. The food and people employed there are the best. Thank you!

    « Guest Relations-Becky! »

I would just like to say you can't get a friendlier front desk greeter than Becky. She was a delight and really made my day! I've stayed here twice now and both times I got a clean, good looking room! Can you ask for anything more? Well, yes. Surprisingly, there is a pizza joint on the bottom floor of this hotel with some incredible pizza. Light, crunchy, chewy, dough. Fresh toppings. That's for another review!

    « Milwaukee VA »

This hotel is the Best to stay at when having to go to the VA Hospital in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I would recommend the hotel if you are going to Summerfest or the State Fair. You can catch the Milwaukee Transit System (bus) and go anywhere.

    « Perfectly located »

Clean rooms, cordial and accommodating staff, generous breakfast, tall beds makes you feel like a queen, giant tvs, spacious tub for a hot soak after a weary flight, ideally situated and most appreciated their honoring my request of top floor room.

    « Nice hotel »

Nice hotel. We got a whirlpool suite. This room was clean, spacious, had a big whirlpool, and a nice kitchenette. This hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, free breakfast, and a restaurant/pub. Only thing I didn't like was the elevator it's really small.

    4
« Hotel is nice and clean »

We stayed at BW because we have rewards points, but if you're going to Milwaukee to see downtown and the HD museum, this hotel is not very close to anything. We spent a lot of money on taxi service. Its also pretty far from the airport.

    5
« Very fun, friendly motel »

We spent 3 nights here last week and really enjoyed the stay. EVERYBODY was in a great mood, -- staff and guests. Very friendly and very clean. Breakfast was huge and a little different every day --sausage one day, bacon the next and delicious. Way better than most motel breakfasts. The beds were very comfortable and my only complain was only 1 chair in the room. Everything else was great.

Back to the old stand by for V A appointments' LOTS of new things going on including some staff changes. Looks to be some positive changes in the future, will gauge as they occur. Very adequate and convenient to the hospital, shopping and restaurant areas.

    3
    « Super Friendly! »

The pictures look great but it was just OK - I feel like they started down the path of a remodel but stopped short of replacing furniture. The walls in the halls are extremely industrial and didn't leave a warm and fuzzy feel but the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was above average for certain - quite the selection!! Best of all, the staff was exceptionally friendly! I was surprised to get a call shortly after check in to make sure my room was adequate and to see if I needed anything. I was always greeted with a smile and easy chat.

« Close to Miller Park Stadium »

I booked a room here to be close to Miller Park stadium. Since I travel a great deal, i always notice the cleanliness of hotel lobbies, which tends to be a dead give away to the rest of the hotel and how it is run. The lobby here is clean and inviting with lots of light. The staff was friendly, even though the front desk was slow attending to individual needs, even when I was the only one around. The housekeeping did a fantastic job and was tipped for the long hours and attention to detail. It was a short and convenient walk to the ballpark through a decent neighborhood. You will also find it within close proximity to local breweries, the art museum and other downtown attractions. I would have rated this hotel better however the noise from adjoining rooms my last night kept me awake until wee hours of the morning, even after calling the front desk with complaints (plural).

    3
    « It works »

I thought this hotel had a good feel when I walked in the door. Clean with a great reception from the front desk. The room was clean and neat. The hotel housekeeping staff worked hard and was most friendly. What I did not like was waiting at the front desk for other details to be addressed. The second night there was a lot of noise from the room above me. I called the front desk and complained twice, to no avail. The noise continued with no breaks until 1AM. If it were not for that I would have rated this hotel better.

    « Affordable stay »

Hotel was clean, breakfast was good, interesting layout for a hotel but it serves its purpose. $11 uber ride to downtown Milwaukee which is not bad. Affordable price for how long I would be in the room. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    « Labor Day getaway »

Close to Miller Park and good family hotel. Clean rooms nice breakfast! Free Parking Uber picked us up to go downtown so that was nice. Pizza in the restaurant was good and easily accessible. Kids enjoyed pool!

    3
    « adequate but noisy »

The room was spacious and clean enough. Lots of hot water and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a family reunion on my floor and people were constantly going from one room to another yelling in the hallway at all hours of the night until the management threatened to call the police at 3am. So my night was ruined. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend this hotel. The breakfast was good. They even had fresh blueberries and strawberries! It's not in a great neighborhood.

    4
« Good value, comfortable beds, pleasant staff »

While the property is getting a tiny bit worn (I understand the lobby is getting a redo in a few days), it was a very convenient location within a 15-20 min walk to Miller Park. (The front desk has walking maps to assist.) The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. Lots of towels. Front desk staff (Becky especially) was fun and pleasant. The only downside was slow Wi-fi. There is pizza/pub restaurant on premise, but I didn't try it as there are many dining options nearby.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

if you are going to a baseball game It very close to miller park. Its about a 10/15 minute walk to the stadium. Nice room. The staff was very nice and if you have any question they will answer them. Breakfast was good. There is a restaurant/bar in the basement of the hotel.

    « Awesome service »

The room was clean nice and very roomy. I don't know last names but Jessica, Lamont, Aszree, Andora, Mike, Tiffany and Steve were absolutely the best. What ever they could do to make our stay wonderful they did. Hats off to a perfect staff. I would definitely stay again and again. Next time I will stay in the Jacuzzi suite. The breakfast was yummy I even made my own waffles the staff in there was just as nice but I didn't get there names. This is as short of review I can say without going into detail.

    « Great Stay for a Ballgame »

Great hotel for a ballgame at Miller Park - went to Cubs game on Sept 7th. BUT beware of parking your car in the lot if it is raining. We were parked in the 2nd space and had to walk into over a foot of water to get to the car and our tickets. Decided to take a taxi to the game instead, taxi arrived within 10 minutes - cost was around 15 with tip. Small bar in hotel was very nice after the game and prices were reasonable. Staff very friendly. Bed was super comfortable, and we would stay there again.

    4
« Great Location for a Baseball Game »

This hotel has a great location if going to Miller Park. It was an easy 25 minute walk from the hotel. Room was very large and comfortable for 3 of us. Air conditioner was a little loud. The morning breakfast was pretty good. Staff was very friendly, especially the woman who was working the breakfast (I apologize I did not get her name). She was so pleasant and friendly!

    4
    « Great for Ballgames »

We checked in to this hotel because we were going to the Cubs vs Brewers game. Miller Park is an easy mile walk away and the hotel let us keep our car in their lot even though we had checked out for the day. Breakfast was great and the room was huge and well kept. Highly recommend.

« Don't be misled by first impression »

The neighborhood this hotel is in doesn't appear to be the greatest, and the hotel needs updating, but the service is very good; the bed is very comfortable; you'll never run out of towels here; never had any security issues; the breakfast is good and plentiful; love the breakfast room decor.

Staff in this BW hotel is unbelievable friendly and helpful. Best of all is Paulette. She is in charge of breakfast that is being served daily. Also the cleanliness of the rooms. She does an amazing job. Also the bed is extremely comfortable with the pillow top mattress and different softness/thickness pillows. This was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I slept in. If I need to be in this area I will definitely stay there again. The hotel and the lobby may not look fancy but still is one of the cleanest and best BW hotels I have been too.

    « Great Place »

I stayed here for a total of one night. The location is good and the hotel is easy to get in and out of. The room I stayed in was very clean. The hotel lobby and other areas were also kept clean. There is a little pub downstairs that also sells food items. It was a great place to have a drink and relax in the evening. The breakfast in the morning was above average with a great selection of items to choose from. I would recommend this place to anyone needing somewhere to stay in this area.

Will do it again; had a bridal shop in West Milwaukee 15 years ago ~ also, ourselves and family lived 1339 S. 49th Street. As my father built the home, we wanted to see the neighborhood also. It was far enough away from any area that was presently having turmoil. The only thing was that we would have like referral to Restaurants closeby.

    « GREAT HOTEL »

We stayed here on our way to Minnesota after at 15 hour drive. The staff was amazingly friendly, the room was clean and well kept. There parking available for when we went to explore the city. The location of the hotel is right next to Brewer Park and about 10 min to the lakefront. They also have a nice little pub downstairs that serves up good food and serves not only well recognized brews but local brews as well. The breakfast was nothing short of amazing for a hotel breakfast. Pancakes, real eggs(not powdered), toast, sausage gravy, biscuits, farm fresh yogurt and fruit, assorted pastries as well. Quite the spread for guests to enjoy.

I have stayed here several times in the past while my husband ( a disabled Vet) was a patient in the V.A.hospital. Was always pleased, other times we were given a special rate for veterans which was greatly appreciated but this time the person I dealt with was rude and I was told there was no discounts for vets. was going to charge me about $125.00!! ( other times I paid about $50.00) I am married to a disabled veteran and do not that kind of money so I drove home which is over 70 miles.

« The saving grace is its proximity to the Brewer Stadium! »

Our room was very 'tired', radiators all rusty and unsightly, needs renovation. I know we got the last room available, but I was disappointed in the state of the bathroom and again, the rusty and damaged floor radiators gave the appearance of a very run down room. Friendly staff at breakfast and again, location is the best if you want to head to a Brewer game! I would hope that other rooms were renovated, avoid room 221 at the end of the hall if possible.

« normally 8 out of 10 stars but this stay was 6 stars »

Overall I like this hotel, it is for the most part clean, desk persons friendly and helpful and very convenient for going to a Milwaukee Brewers game, the staff is usually friendly, I have stayed here many times in the past.. just had a few issues with this stay with the bathroom door not able to close and mostly the restaurant and being told we can't order pizza because the cook had left for a while ... also, the price at total with taxes and fees 182 for each of the two rooms I booked was over priced that is why below I rated value as poor

« Great West Milwaukee location »

Close to Miller Park, State Fairgrounds, Pettit National Ice Center, and the Hank Aaron State Trail. Free parking, WiFi, morning breakfast, pool and fitness center. Older property, but updated rooms, bedding, bathroom facilities. Lounge and restaurant facilities on the property. Usually better rates than downtown, so I would absolutly stay here again.

« Great location, Clean and Friendly »

Going to a Brewer Game? This is the place to stay! Walking distance, nice rooms, Friendly staff and great breakfast! The pool room is super nice along with the work out facility. I would highly recommend this hotel for a family vacation or business stay!

    « Got our money's worth »

Although we never quite figured out the arrangement of a hotel with an attached apartment building, everything was neat and clean. The elevator was small and slow. The pool area was quite nice would have been helpful to have towels at the pool. Breakfast was good, and staff were quite welcoming. Check out didn't go so well, computers were down. Front desk didn't know directions around the city.

« National Pizza Pub and Grille »

We are local (Third Ward) and have not stayed in the hotel but decided to check out the downstairs pizza pub, the National, since we had a Groupon. It was a hot Saturday afternoon and the place was thankfully pretty empty, so we grabbed seats at the bar with the other 4 patrons. There is a lot of space for table dining, though. This place is no-frills, which was exactly what we were looking for... somewhere with cold beer, the air conditioning cranked up, and some decent grub. Despite being in the basement of a hotel, the place has a local feel to it and we had the sense that most of the people at the bar with us were neighborhood locals. Granted, our expectations weren't too high, but the National easily surpassed them. Our bartender, Brooke, was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and pizza options. They have maybe 12 draft beers but plenty of bottled options too (and full bar). The pizza was outstanding. Great thin crust loaded with toppings and tasty sauce, all in good proportion. A large was more than enough for 2 people, so we took leftovers home. Even without the Groupon, the prices are totally reasonable. Having Brooke behind the bar was a huge bonus, as she was very easygoing but at the same time completely attentive and helpful. I'm glad we decided to check out the National, as we will certainly be return customers when we're in the mood for beer and pizza in a non-smug, chilled out atmosphere (which is often!).

« Best Western Milwaukee West, Milwaukee »

Hotel was clean, great staff very polite and smiling. Hotel was older and noisy from adjoining rooms. Breakfast was very good and the towels were huge a nice change from other places we have stayed. It would have been rated a 10 had it not been for the noisy people in the next room, but that is not the staffs fault.

    « Enjoyed our night »

Great hotel-our choice when we come to a ballgame at Miller Park, It is within walking distance (15min) with a map from the motel. Its great-service is good, bed is great and everything that we want. Great hostess Jasmine

    « Highly Recommend »

Would highly recommend this hotel. We have stayed at this hotel before and they have really upgraded things tremendously. Their employees are very helpful checking in and out. They were also very pleasant through out our stay. Breakfast area is very clean and the food was very good. Pool area nice and relaxing atmosphere. We went to a brewers game so it is very close to Miller Park.

« Beer, Brats and Comfy beds. »

The ball park can look like it is in a seedy area as you come off the freeway at night. Not helped by the old brick exterior of the building. However, staff was helpful and once we got parking realized we were in older part of Milwaukee. Breakfast was very good, best of all the full serve breakfasts we stayed on this trip. Need to try and find a better parking system for your stay and for check in. A long walk to the lobby in the dark at night is not comforting. The room was large and spacious. Beds etc top rate. This is an apartment complex that has half it turned into a Hotel. Right across street from new VA hospital, Staff was super. I personaly would not walk to hotel at night from Miller ball park. Too many shops and bussiniesss boarded up in older area.

« Top quality and service in west Milwaukee »

excellent value, comfortable room and bed, great breakfast options and very convenient for Miller Park - the reason for our trip. Jasmine the manager and ALL her team were good service personified. The whole experience from arrival to departure through dinner in the bar, which although basic was well prepared and served, was good. We did not have time to use the pool or fitness centre but it looked well equipped and inviting.

    « hotel »

the only reason we stay here is because it is so close to Miller Park to go see the Cubs play. The hotel is within walking distance to Miller Park. Has lots of parking. the bar and grill is excellent. The rooms are very clean, but walls are thin, can here kids running in the hall.

« Best Western, Best Staff, Best Pizza. »

The room was comfortable. Pizza and pub downstairs was awesome. Having a fridge on the room was great. The check in staff was super nice and helpful. You can walk to the ballpark from the hotel. Super convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

    2
« Good Service but run down hotel »

The customer service in this hotel was great, the breakfast was good, but the hotel itself is very run down and old. It reminded us of a senior living building from the 1980's that should have been knocked down. There was not enough parking and we had to park on the street.

    5
    « Clean and friendly »

We went for a ball game and this hotel was pleasant and clean. the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Food was great. The rooms were completely renovated and clean and comfortable. We would definitely go back again.

    4
    « Doesn't get closer for a Brewers game! »

Nice location for a ballgame. Older hotel that has been renovated and money spent in the right places, rooms, pool and lobby areas as well as the bar/restaurant. Staff couldn't be more friendly. Only one small elevator which can be difficult when bringing in luggage depending on how much you have. The building is older and has some character. Rooms are very clean which was most important. Elevator was out of order and we received a discount on our rooms without even asking. If you are looking for an embassy suites, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a clean room with friendly staff for a good price, look no further. Walking distance to the ballpark - downstairs bar is really nice with great staff! Working class neighborhood hotel - I would stay again and would recommend if you are going to a ballgame or visiting the VA which is located right across the street.

« Nice hotel for price and location »

My husband had an appointment at the VA Hospital and this hotel is just minutes away. Very nice hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The pool area is a hidden jewel. Very nice décor and very clean. We would stay there again!

    3
« More Modern Then The Outside Implies »

The outside may appear dated to you but don't be swayed by that because the hotel room was clean and up-to-date. The bed was very comfortable. The food from the hotel restaurant was very good. It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The staff was also congenial.

    5
« This place is great for the money! »

We needed a place to stay in Milwaukee - not by the airport. The searching brought up this place near the bottom of the price range. We checked reviews and they are right...this is so worth the money! Super friendly staff. Room is a bit small, but had all the amenities we needed. Air conditioner was a bit noisy, but we got used to it after a while.

The rooms were clean, pool area very nice, staff was friendly and breakfast was was great. One associate, "Tommy" went so far as to repair my son's bicycle so that we could complete our bike ride. The motel is close to a great bike trail that really helped make our stay unique!

    3
    « Great Location »

This is a great motel location if you are wanting to take in a Brewer's game or two. Walking distance is maybe a mile or a little more. Easy walk. Parking is cramped and seems to be a few spaces less than guest rooms available. Floors creak when someone above you walks around. Great lounge with great service and a Ruben Sandwich that is tops.

    3
« Close to Miller Park »

Liked that it was close to the ball park. Didn't like that there was no ice machine on the 2nd floor and that the fan and light in bathroom had no separate switches. The staff was very good and the room was clean.

    « Best Hotel I've Stayed In »

My partner and I stayed here after The 1975 concert in May. ALL the staff were friendly, from those who checked us in to those who were working once we returned later at night. Even the cleaning staff was above and beyond friendly. The room was big and clean and had a beautiful shower. The pool area was very nicely decorated for an indoor pool. The free cookies in the lobby were awesome too! It is in an excellent location with a McDonald's, Target, Walmart, and IHOP minutes away. We will be returning to this hotel soon as it is the best hotel I've stayed in and I have recommended it to all my family and friends in the Milwaukee area.

« Good family oriented hotel »

Great affordable place to stay just a few miles from downtown Milwaukee. Front desk person (Kathie I think) was great, energetic and appeared to love her job. Elevator needs updating, slow, slow, slow but the pool area is perfect for families, my nephews LOVED it!

    4
« Good Location for Brewers Games »

This was a great location for Miller Field, less than a mile to the field. Anyone at this BW walked to the game. The hotel was fine; room was fine. Nikki at the front desk was fantastic -- took care of a couple problems I had (room keys not working, refrigerator malfunctioning, and game info). I never would've known that she was new on the job. Although the room was fine, there was a noise issue -- a tunnel effect -- which seemed to amplify all noises in the hallway. The breakfast was okay but not the usual BW quality. The breakfast area was insufficient in size; it was somewhat messy; and the TV was too loud for the size of the room. Parking is combined with that of an apartment building behind and a pass is required for your dash. We didn't feel comfortable with that situation. I guess I should say that at least there was free parking.

The Best Western in West Allis, Wisconsin is a quality place to stay if you are planning a trip to Milwaukee. Most notably if you are going to the State Fair, have business at the VA Hospital or are going to cheer for the Brewers. It is within walking distance of Miller Park and the VA. I have always found the rooms clean and have always been treated well. The City transit system also stops nearby.

With not being familiar with traveling, we couldn't check in until 3pm- in which we traveled from Michigan, got there at 11am with 4 tired/hungry/hot kids, but they did let us park the Van in the parking spots reserved. We were going to Brewers Game, this hotel was walking distance about 15-20minute walk with kids, between hotel and Miller Park was a nice park with picnic tables under a pavilion. Hotel had Nice Heated indoor Pool, Hot Tub. Tables and chairs in pool room. Work out room.(didn't use) Pizza/food/bar in hotel! served us at 10:45pm- Breakfast was great! lots to choose from, Pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, cereal. I give it a 4, Parking was tricky and one exit/entrance. Staff was friendly, I would definitely go again!

Linette was amazing! really went out of her way to make our morning that much brighter.

This Best Western is so convenient to Miller Park you won' believe it. Just 6 block walk and you are at the right field entrance to the ball park. By the way, you past 2 or 3 nice bars along the walk too, plus there is a very nice bar that serves food right in the lower level of the hotel. It is called National Pizza and is a gathering place for visiting fans. We just returned from a 2 game series between the Twins and the Brewers and really enjoyed this hotel.

« Best hotel under $200 in Milwaukee »

Stayed for a pair of baseball games, great location within walking distance and it's one of, if not the most reasonable stays in Milwaukee. The price can't be beat if you are staying for a game as there's a simple walking path, and the cleanliness is the best I've seen in the city under $200. Highly recommended to all that might be interested.

« Pretty good deal for the money. »

Our stay was OK. The rooms were newly remodeled and very nice. We had a neighbor we cranked the TV to a 10 volume and kept us awake all night until the hotel stafff handled the problem. Also we went to breakfast at 8am and they were out of food. The staff was wonderful and accommodating - couldn't be better - the overall room was very nice and it was wonderful to have available, close-by parking. It was an average, inexpensive and OK stay. The price was right at $88.00/a night. So, although my friend who I traveled with was very dissatisfied, I thought it was a pretty nice stay for the money.

« Miss Becky (sorry if this is spelt wrong) »

On Wednesday evening my family and I decided late that we should head down to Milwaukee from Green Bay. My dad was having surgery early the next morning at the VA hospital. I called to make sure they had a room and the lady at the desk, Becky, was amazing! She held the room for me and made sure we would have no problems with a late check in. I even called back to verify that we were on our way (I've had problems in the past and wanted to make sure we still had a room when we got down there). Becky remembered me and called me by name and said I had nothing to worry about. What AMAZING customer service, you don't see that much anymore! It was a relief to have one less thing to worry about. We weren't there long but the place did its job and the staff was friendly and the room was clean! Very short distance to the VA hospital. We would stay there again.

    « way to hot »

The hotel room was set at 76 and the hallways were a lot hotter than that. Had to open all the windows to get cool enough even after I turned off the heat entirely. The restaurant had good pizza but the server wanted to talk with her boyfriend rather than operate the bar. Also, no chalk for the pool table and they knew it. This is a very big deal for anyone that plays pool.

    « Great Weekend Stay »

This is a great hotel!! We celebrated my sister's 65th Birthday there and it was wonderful! The staff is great, as is the pool and the restaurant and grill downstairs. This is a great place for families, but I will be going back without them also!

    « Veteran awaiting surgery »

My family and I acquired rooms the night before major surgery at the near VA. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also price was affordable. If you are needing a room near either the VA or Miller park I would recommend this hotel. Nice breakfast buffet and a friendly bar in basement.

    « Clean, but LOUD. »

This hotel was ok.. the room was adequate, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was updated and clean. It looks like they did renovations not too long ago so the hotel is very decent. We ate the pub in the hotel and it was delicious! The breakfast was fine, simple but good. My only complaint was the noise. I don't mean you could hear people talking in the adjacent room, I mean stomping, yelling and just non-stop noise all night on the floor above us, and sometimes in the hallway of our room. Apparently the hotel is attached to an apartment building, so I don't know if that plays a role or not, but in all my years of travel I've never experienced that level of non-stop noise. I suggest if you do decide to stay at this hotel you ask for a room on the higher floors.. maybe it would help with the noise levels.

Very clean hotel. Nice pizza and pub place in the building. A beautiful pool area and a nice work out room. They have very nice breakfast and lobby areas. It is close to the stadium, the zoo and many other attractions.

    « real swimming pool »

Hotel is right across from the VA Medical Center, not a feature I needed, but placing it in easy drive of much of Milwaukee. Parking was easy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The Pizza Bar downstairs is good. It is a solid, but not fancy place; everything in working order (except for the oatmeal machine, which would be a nice feature since as a frequent traveller I really don't want to die of Waffles+Sausages) The swimming pool is long enough (about 50 feet?) to swim laps for exercise; wish it were open till at least 11 PM though. The exercise equipment was OK but had a little friction at points it should not; just needs a tune up. A very good value and I will return on future trips to Milwaukee.

    « Great stay here »

The parking lot was very confusing to pull into. You can not pull up to the front of the building to unload, but must go through doors and elevators to get to the rooms. We had not checked in so a hike up the hill to the front door was In order. The room was clean, and the beds very comfortable. The toilet overflowed onto the floor but the problem was taken care of within a few hours. The food was ok at the bar/lounge and the service was great. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

    « decent stay »

I have stayed here two times before and had no issues. this time there were stains on the curtains, the heat was blasting hot (other people in hotel were complaining as well) our room key took at least 20 times to open the door!

    « "Don't stay here" »

Not at all of how the pictures looked on the internet. The hotel is connected to an apartment building and the tenants are very intimidating and noisy. On our first night at 11 pm there were 20 teenagers running up and down the halls screaming the f word. It took management 1 hour to get it under control. Becky at the front counter was helpful. The bearded man was rude, cursed, and was an overall jerk to my wife and I. The key cards never worked correctly. The parking lot was horribly plowed. On the 3rd day a homeless man was sleeping and making a mess eating in the stairwell. I will never return here and would not recommend this place to anyone.

    « Week End Visit »

Desk associate was very helpful/friendly when checking in. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. During the night we heard people in the hallway, but not uncommon in hotels with sports bar. National pizza served at bar was very good. However, female bartender was not very friendly.

    « Doesn't feel safe »

I chose this hotel not only because of the price, but also because of the pictures and how nice it looked. It turns out that the hotel is connected to an apartment building and its residents roam the halls. Its a very uncomfortable feeling and I did not feel welcomed at all. I chose to park on the street in front of the hotel because I did not feel that my car was in a secure location parked among the residents of the apartment. The apartment is nowhere near as nice as the hotel, and I really wish I would have known about this arrangement, because I would have probably chosen a different place to stay.

« Excellent service and a big room at great price! »

The stand out feature here was the customer service. From Becky at the front desk check-in to Jasmine, the manager and then Emily in the restaurant, everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly. The service was top notch and even the breakfast lady engaged us in conversation. Our room was right in the middle of the hall (215) so, away from the elevator and stairs which was nice and quiet. Two double beds, a full kitchenette (stove, dishwasher, sink and stocked cabinets with cooking supplies), a marble counter top sink in the bathroom...This place just kept surprising us!

    « Stayed for a work party. »

Nice clean room, very warm. Had a fridge and microwave. Only bad thing the tub didn't drain very well. Breakfast was ok, the muffins a little dry. Otherwise it was fine. Hey it was free. Would stay again but ask for top floor. You can hear whenever someone walks above you.

    5
« Very friendly staff--everyone greeted us when they passed us in the hall. »

We had a nice sized room with frig, microwave and coffee maker. The room was very clean. Becky at the front desk--second shift--was so friendly. The only suggestion I would make is to add safety bars in the showers. We will definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in need of a hotel in that area of town.

« Great place to stay »

We loved our last minute stay at this hotel and in fact came back the following weekend. We would recommend this to anyone who needs to stay for a longer duration and if you enjoy nice continental breakfasts. We loved the fact that there is a restaurant attached to the hotel also.

    4
« Nice place to stay »

Rooms are nothing to rave about, but are clean and fairly roomy. The pool is very large and well heated so that it's quite comfortable to swim in. There is even a play area with a little house and kitchen for kids who don't want to or can't swim. Breakfast is good with several options to choose from. When we had an issue with our first room (the heater wouldn't turn off and it was 90 degrees) they quickly got us into another room just a couple doors down.

« clean, friendly, and economical! »

I really enjoyed our stay here at the Woods View Inn. My friends and I went to a concert at the Eagles Ballroom Dec. 31, 2015 (which is only 8 minutes away!). The room prices are unbeatable! Perfect for groups or any young people on a budget! The beds were very soft, which was lovely coming home to after dancing all night. The hotel staff was friendly, laid back, and helpful! My key card was not working and my boyfriend had my ID, but the lady was so sweet and made me feel like it was no problem to help me. The bathroom, bedroom, and overall cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding! I have no complaints whatsoever. I did see other reviews about the elevators being a little small but that didn't bother us, as we used the stairs instead... :) I will be staying here again, thank you for reading! :)

    « Clean and decent »

We stayed at the BWWV in December while visiting friends near by. The hotel was nice, clean and close to where we needed to be. This is not a 5 star hotel if that is what you are looking for, a solid 4 for the comfort and cleanliness, they did a nice job with the renovation, but still is a older hotel, parking was confusing and a bit hard to get a spot. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was OK and the National pizza attached was very good. Glad we decided to stay overall.

    « Clean and friendly »

This is an older hotel but very clean. The walls were clean, the carpets were clean and our room/bathroom was very clean. The pool area of the hotel was very well kept also. The water temperature was just right (not too cold). I would stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Baller Status »

If you a baller and want to go to Milwaukee with the intent to ball out of control then you want to stay at the Best Western Woods View Inn. The employees were great especially Emily, and the pool area and fitness center is on point. I highly recommend this hotel for any who are looking for quality at a reasonable price.

    « Was just ok »

Checking into the hotel was scary. The outside looked run down. The guy checking us in clearly didn't want to be there. The hallways looked straight out of a scary movie. The room was just ok. Bed sheets had hair on them. Clean wise it was fair. Breakfast was not great. Warm orange juice and hard biscuits. Wouldn't stay here again.

    « Annual stay »

Have stayed here many years in November for an annual event at State Fair Park. Woodsview seems to have rooms on a rotating schedule for upgrading. We had one of those upgraded rooms this time around. Small parking lot with tight spaces that are quickly filled at the conclusion of each day. Room was a decent size and clean with two beds as well as a couple of chairs. The chairs are nice when you have people joining you in the room. Dorm-sized fridge is nice, even though we didn't use it during our stay. Decent tv and remote control that actually worked, and most likely had fresh batteries. That had not been the case on many previous stays. There are some things they are most unlikey to upgrade. Thin walls let you hear the neighbors easily, and the floor above us was also pretty thin. Comfortable beds, and comfortable bath with lots of counter space. Although not used, there was a selection of toiletries available. Decent array of fairly fluffly towels. Good shower and showerhead with good drainage of the tub. (That also has not been the case in the past) Noisy exhaust fan in bath at our arrival, but it eventually quited down. (Perhaps because of getting some humidity?) Room lighting adequate. And a good wifi signal in this location. (Our room was about halfway down the main building on the first floor. Same small breakfast room tending to get totally overcrowded. New addition of a pancake machine rather than those funky flip-type waffle makers. Breakfast adequate and fairly standard with scrambled eggs, (sausage a nice touch, and ham one day) breads, small sweet rolls, juices, coffee machine, cereal, etc. Excellent desk staff, but you need to be able to split bills quickly and easily on the spot for people who request it. I'm home and still do not see on my visa account that the request has happened. Bar with pub food in the basement. This space has been a number of things over the years. We ( 4 customers) ordered wings. Terrible choice, with sauces that were pretty sour. Won't return to this restaurant any time soon. Decent tap beer selection. The service was pretty slow until we called the server on it. Good restaurant with good food up the street. (Kegels Inn) They're German, but the friday fish fry is excellent. Would we return? Probably, as it's pretty convenient to our annual event at State Fair Park. A sticking point for me is the daily charge for use of a room safe that I NEVER requested. It appears to be simply another way to wring a few bucks out of the customer.

    « Close to VA »

If you need to visit someone at the VA on National Avenue, this is a good selection. Room isn't fancy, but it has all that one needs. Basement has a bar & a limited restaurant. Bartender was friendly. Pizza was good. Choices for the type of trip don't fit my situation. We had a hospital stay.

    5
« Conveniently located with lovely pool area and friendly staff »

The breakfast was ample. I especially liked the scrambled eggs with cheese. The staff was very friendly and respectful. The pool was the perfect temp and nice for doing laps. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and pillows were soft and nice. Sadly our handicapped accessible room did not have any place to set down anything in the bathroom, not even on the sink. The light came on automatically in the bathroom with the very loud fan which could not be shut off. Our room did not have a fridge or microwave.

« Old and Run Down »

This is a broken down hotel with one redeeming quality: it has a lot of soul. The employees are a phenomenal asset to this property. They make the stay worth it. Otherwise, the hallways are narrow and dingy. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are barely enough for one person. There are not enough outlets for today's electronic needs. Breakfast was above average, with plenty of selection and a wonderful attendant that assures you have everything you need. The clientele is also a concern. Many do not have respect for themselves, let along others. Most of the times there were huddles of smokers around the doors.

    3
« Cheap as cheap goes »

This is an odd one. It is a fairly large 3 story structure around an ugly parking lot. The room I ended up with was designed for wheelchair access so the bathroom was a bit unusual. Looks like it was recently renovated but done with poor quality (the entire shower assembly moved as I turned on/off the water and it leaked from inside the wall. There was no shelf for toiletries or door or curtain to the shower. Walls and floors are paper thin, so you get to know your immediate neighbors maybe more than you want. That goes for the door to the corridor too. The entire properly has that sad 1970s look and feel even though it is well maintained. A big negative for me was that I could not open the windows. Instead a noisy a/c went on/off all night. WiFi was fast and dependable. Breakfasted too (included) was a little better than in many other places - but I hate to eat on disposable plates with plastic cutlery. The basement include a forgettable sports bar/pizzeria. They had beer and sprits, but no wine. Simply odd. The food I had was frozen readymade and just deep fried. Summary: for the $65 I paid is it good value but it not a place I would choose again.

Hotel is well located and surrounded by all kinds of shops. be it picknsave, walmart, farmers market, kfc, burger kings, dollar tree, kmart etc.... Good service from the people over there. Jasmine, Manager was very humble and helped us a lot in suggesting bus routes and in providing other helps during our stay. Complimentary breakfast is awesome, hell lot of varieties and options , also 24 hrs free coffee service available. Overall we had excellent stay through out the period, my son an wife enjoyed a lot.......I recommend this hotel very much to anyone:) one suggestion i would give is they can consider changing the location of repeaters to equal amount of WIFI signal through out.

    « Issues »

I was at first super excited to stay here. Best Westerns are generally clean and it was my first time staying at a hotel. But after staying just one night, I started developing bites and at first I thought maybe it had been mosquitoes or something else. I didn't want to immediately blame the hotel but the bites continued to progress even after I returned home. My son also started developing bites and I could not figure out what was going on. I then discovered fleas in my apartment. Mind you I have no pets and the only people that come and go from the apartment are my son, my roommate, and me. My roommate tends to stay at her boyfriend's home and she has not had any issues with bites nor has he. Due to this, my only conclusion is that it was staying at the hotel. I let them know and I felt like I was being blown off and they didn't care about my concern. I have posted pictures along with this review to show just how bad it got.

    « Great hotel! »

Hotel is very clean, staff is very polite. Great room and price! If you want to stay close to downtown Milwaukee but not directly in the city, this is the place to be. Within walking distance of Miller Park, so if I ever go to a game, I will think of this in the summertime. Will go again!

    « Stellar customer service »

A thousand stars for Mercedes, who worked with me over the phone to process a complicated last-minute reservation. Hospitality: it's what you're looking for in a hotel, whether you are there in person or some 2000 miles away. Mercedes went above and beyond to find a solution for me (in the middle of the night), and I hope that Best Western knows what an absolute gem of an employee and genuinely wonderful human being they have working for them there in Milwaukee.

I had experience with both Mercedes and Jasmine, and both of these girls couldn't of been more helpful to me. They went out of their way to help me when I had to come down from Iron Mountain MI, because my dad had to have emergency surgery at the VA. I didn't have to worry about anything, because these ladies went out of their way to make sure I had my room, when they were completely booked for a concert in town. I honestly don't know what I would of done without them. And the food in the pub is to die for!!!! And they deliver right to your room! What service! I hope all Best Western motels are like this one, they would deserve my loyalty if they are. Thank you to all of the staff!!! You made a stressful situation so very easy!

Also the free breakfast was perfect to get going in the morning. Parking can be tight but worked out. Enjoyable nights stay.

We were putting on an event in the community and the lack of response from Management was disheartening. After leaving 6 messages to the Manager and getting no response, that is why I gave it an average rating which is sad because the staff at this hotel was amazing during our stay.

« One of the BEST of "Best Western!" »

We arrived in Milwaukee to participate in the Brewer's Mini Marathon and 10K and chose this motel for proximity (walking distance!) to the start/finish area at Brewer's Stadium. It was one of our ALL TIME best stays! Leah assigned us to a room that met our request (top floor, face away from heavy traffic (of which there is little during the night) QUIET PLEASE! The manager, Jasmine, made sure runners arriving EARLY for breakfast were met with ample selections. Housekeeping were efficient as our room was very well cleaned during our sight seeing on the second day. I would choose this motel again!!

    « Good »

The Best Wester Hotel was a very nice hotel and has been remodeled. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. We were quoted $179.00 per night and thought that was a little high for the area but it was late and I know Best Western are nice hotels so we agreed to stay. However we had to take the last room and it was very noisey and we were over the bar in the basement and the noise kept us up all night. The hotel lowered are bill for the inconvenience. So if you stay there don't take the room over the bar. Otherwise I think you would be very happy with your stay. The stall was more than accommodating.

« The hotel manager is awsome! »

I needed a room because I was there for my brother's emergency surgery at the VA hospital. I didn't have time to call for reservations. I was shocked to find out they were full because of a Brewer's game. Jasmine looked at every room and was able to squeeze me in. Her compassion, sense of humor, and unbelievable customer service really made my day. I don't know the Milwaukee area, so being able to stay so close to my brother during this crisis really meant a lot. Everyone at this hotel was super nice, and really made my stay special. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's super convenient if you are in Milwaukee for a Brewers game, or if you are there for the VA Hospital. Jasmine really went above an beyond what I expected. I just can't say enough good things about her.

    « OK Hotel »

The hotel is OK but is not in a very good part of town. There are very few restaurants within walking distance and none were very appealing. We tried the restaurant in the hotel. It is situated in the basement with low ceilings and is very dark and dingy. The prices were still high and the menu was very limited. When I asked for nachos but to hold the hot peppers, I was told that it could not be done. Although we had already ordered drinks we told the waitress to cancel and we left. We ended up driving to a fast food joint in another part of town.
