This BW is very quiet and has great easy on and off the free way. The rooms are clean with bathrooms that are large and comfortable. Large queen size beds with lots of pillows. Good standard food provided for their free breakfast. Check in and out was very easy.
The hotel and rooms were very clean. The beds were the most comfortable we have had. Got the best sleep and room was quiet. We had a ada room that had no bench or chair in the tub and no extra shower head. If you need this then you should inquire ahead of time.Since this was just a one night stop for us it was okay, but missed my shower. We went late to breakfast. Tables and chairs were dirty and there was not much left to choose from. Eggs and bacon were mixed and should of been seperate.
We stayed here on a recent trip and we delighted to see the update and improvements to this hotel since our last visit. We had a pet friendly room and it was very clean and fresh smelling. The room was spacious and the continental breakfast bar had plenty of choices. We definitely will stay here again when in this area.
The hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good.
This was a nice place, affordable would definitely stay here again the rooms were clean, beds were comfortable.
Comfortable hotel with nice beds. Can walk to some restaurants nearby without going to casinos in Nevada.
I travel I80 across Nevada and Utah several times a year. I could stay in the casinos for probably a little less money but I prefer quiet and a good nights rest over gambling and bling. This Best Western has always served my well.
We stayed in one of the jacuzzi suites. It was much larger than expected! All of the towels and tissues were folded into swans or flower shapes - a nice romantic touch. The bed was comfy and the AC was surprisingly quiet for being the window unit types. The ONLY negative is the surrounding properties. The hotel is surrounded by what appears to be junk yards. It never bothered me, just know that they are there.
Good place to stay for the night, cozy atmosphere, rooms are modern up to date. If you seeking internet, its a little slow for the speed. Other accommodations are good.
Room was nice but smelled like we were near a restaurant. Maybe someone next to us had dinner delivered to their room. Got a couple sodas from the vending machine and they were very warm. Other than those two issues everything was fine and the price was better than the rooms at any of the casinos.
Comfortable, quiet stay in a noisy gambling town. Sleep peacefully, swim and exercise, wind down in front of your curved face modern television. Or enjoy video games and fast wifi service. Flexible continental breakfast for three hours.
We experienced at least a dozen issues, and the staff and manager made us feel like they didn't even care. We booked the Jacuuzi Suite for the weekend. We chose Best Western because they claim to be 100% smoke-free, and my wife has asthma. When we got to our room, it smelled like cigarette smoke. My wife called the front desk to let them know, while I turned on the tv. The tv wasnt working so they sent the concierge to our room. When he arrived to fix the tv my wife pointed out the cigarette smell. He immediately began to argue with her. He said it was not cigarettes but they did an ozone cleaning, and the smell would go away. We just needed to open a window for 20 minutes. My wife asked what would happen if the smell didnt go away. He argued again and said they do these ozone cleanings every day and that it would go away. He pushed a couple buttons on the remote and then said the tv was fixed before leaving. We opened the window and set a timer for 20 minutes. We tried to watch tv while we waited but the volume wouldn't turn up, and we could barely hear it. Then it randomly changed input settings and then wouldn't allow us to change it back. After 20 minutes we called again to let them know that the smell did not go away. My wife asked him if they could switch us to another Jacuuzi suite. The concierge told us that there was only one Jacuuzi suite in the hotel and the only options we had was to downgrade to a regular room or have them come up to the room with air freshener. We told him that we booked the Jacuuzi suite because we wanted the jacuuzi tub and asked him to send the air freshener. About 40 minutes later housekeeping arrived with a can of febreeze. We told her the tv wasnt working as well and she just turned it off and turned it back on. Then she took the febreeze and sprayed the air conditioner unit. She didnt spray the whole room she just sprayed the AC unit and then left. She also didn't leave the febreeze with us. We decided to take a bath in the jacuzzi tub, only to discover the drain plug wouldn't seal, and therefore, the tub wouldn't hold water. By then it was 8pm. We called the front desk again and asked them to send maintenance to fix it. They said someone would be up in 5-10 minutes. No one came up the entire night. The next day we called the front and asked to speak to the manager about the issues we were having. Apparently it was the managers day off but they said she would call us later. At noon we received a call from the manager
Beautiful rooms; appears recently remodeled. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly rooms are greatly appreciated. Located on the Utah Nevada borderline in Utah. Easy access to freeway and makes an excellent mid journey stop over or even a place to spend some time for top rated casinos in a small town environment.
They have nice rooms and the beds are wonderful. The beds are as comfortable as any I have seen in my travels. The breakfast room is nice and the breakfast is limited but very good. They did have bacon and scrambled eggs. I do miss the little breakfast burritos they used to have but it was still good. I definitely recommend this hotel.
If you're just passing through and not intending to make this a gambling mecca, this is an adequate place. The rooms were clean and comfortable and nice place out the back for the dogs. They must have problems because they reminded us no less than 10 times that dogs cannot be left in the room. Very good breakfast. Shampoo was empty and there was a big patched hole in the bathroom door so if they're not careful this will become yet another good place that went downhill. But still ok for now.
Our room was plenty big, clean, and comfortable. Hotel is on older/Utah side of Wendover so not many restaurant choices other than casinos on Nevada side. It was good location for us with driving to Salt Flats and on to Antelope Island.
Good location near interstate. Clean rooms with comfortable bed. Breakfast was good with both hot and cold foods and kept replenished. Employees were friendly, helpful and professional. Would definitely recommend.
I'm nearly certain I got food poisoning from the free breakfast. The room was in poor repair. It's like someone got drunk and tried to assemble a bunch of cheap IKEA furniture. For this price, you're better off staying at a casino.
Check in was delightful and friendly, and was efficient. Our room was on the 3rd floor, and it smelled delightful and was extremely comfortable. Beds soft and pillows perfect. It was easy to figure out how to turn the TV on and see the guide, select channels, and clearly a newer tv. LIghting was great - and I could open the window in the room for fresh air. It was a lovely quiet night, and parking substantial. This is pet friendly hotel, and most of the hotels we stay in when we have dogs, the rooms SMELL like dog. Very nice pet area as well, and the pick up bag container was full - which is not always the case. Breakfast was disappointing - the room was small and food not very hot. Locate of the hotel is good, but on both sides of the hotel it looks like a dump yard for broken vehicles. Safe area though. And our room was quiet to street noises, especially from HIghway 80. Definitely stay again. Hotel was clean, safe, and friendly staff.
There aren't a lot of good choices in Wendover, UT if you're traveling with pets so I'll come here again. But this time around was disappointing. The refrigerator wasn't cold (I hope my food is safe to eat!) and there's plenty of room for a relaxing chair in the corner but there wasn't one. There's even a floor lamp there. Maybe they're in the process of getting new chairs? I hope so as the only place to relax is the bed.
My husband and I stayed three nights in this hotel. We asked for an accessible room as I have mobility issues. We were given a suite, which was nice and large--with a separate bedroom. The furniture in the livingroom was very worn--and should certainly be replaced. The couch and coffee table look like they were picked up on the side of the road. Not exaggerating. However, the bed was comfortable, the staff were all wonderful, and the breakfast buffet was great. I was, unfortunately, unable to use the tub/shower. It was not mobility accessible. When I asked for a shower seat, the guy brought one up, but it was configured backwards for the tub in our room. It was one of the seats where two legs go in the tub, and two out, but it had a back on it, which meant it could really only go one way--and it wasn't the direction. The fellow had gone out of his way, and it seemed he found the only available one, so we didn't complain--I just sponge bathed during our stay. However, we really enjoyed our stay here. There was lots of accessible parking, which made life easier. My only issue was the lack of an accessible tub/shower in the room.
Police activity was high. Lots of shady folks in the parking lot. I had to check on my car often because I was worried it would be broken into. The TV didn't work and the curtains were very sheer so between the noise and the brightness, I got hardly any sleep.
We spent 2 nights here at the Best Western Plus in Wendover, Utah! We were able to book our room with points for both nights. This was a family vacation and was enjoyed by all! The only way it could have been better would have been if we had won at the slot machines in Wendover, Nevada!!
We have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and it has always been a good experience , my kids love it there they love the pool and the breakfast. I was a little disappointed in the price increase but it was still a great time.
I felt like I was in the hood This really is not a clean area. I did not feel safe at night. I had a situation with my room with a toilet bowl overflowed rather than dressing it ASAP told me just stand by and wait. How would you like to wait to take a shower because your room is full of toilet bowl water. And then when cleaned it up used all the towels and left me none to take a shower
As an elite member of Best Western motels, I rarely encounter any problems with the motel, or staff, or price for that matter. To be denied a couple of extra pillows, with the reason given "we don't have any extra pillows" was discourteous, and made no sense. I finally offered to give a deposit on the extra pillows, or even to BUY the xtra pillows, and finally the manager relented, and "found" me 2 extra pillows. If this is truly the policy of Best Western (I don't think it is) then I may have to re-think my staying with you in future. However, the managerdid finally comply with my request, so I don't want to see his un-duly punished. Maybe just a clarification of policy. Thank You
Checked in, was given a room, went to take shower the shower head was on the floor. Told the front desk, she didn't know if they could fix it. Gave us another room, went to take a shower and no soap or shampoo in their dispenser. Told fron desk after the shower, nothing was done while we were there. Also shower head sprayed Al over the floor, it could not be adjusted. Not worth the money, motel in bad condition and no help from the front desk
This property was very comfortable and clean. While the amenities include; fitness center, coin laundry room, free breakfast, free wi-fi, free coffee in the nice lobby, an indoor pool and hot tub, there are operating hours of when most amenities are available for use. Complimentary toiletries by request at the front desk only. This is a non smoking property, FYI. The stateline of Nevada is approximately 4-5 blocks up the street. A handful of casinos, restaurants, bars and a smoke shop are over the stateline of course. Overall, this hotel has great value for it's location and amenities offered. No deposits or hidden fees. ( I do not know the pet policy however. I believe there is a deposit for pets. We don't travel with ANY pets , Lol). Good Luck !
We stayed her for one night. The place is very clean, comfortable beds and a decent breakfast. They even had bacon which is unusual as all other places we have stayed had sausage (which I don't like).staff was friendly and helpful answering our questions.
Staff was friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the Hot Tub. Breakfast was delicious with hot freshly made waffles and a lot of other options. We stayed on the 2nd floor, easy access to stairs, elevator and pool/hot tub area. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again when I come back to Wendover.
The building looked ok. The parking was short and narrow driveway. The viewing from our window was an ugly dirty wrecking yard. Broken fence. The price was horrible for 1 night. The elevator was stinky and so slow. I ran up 35 steps then down 35 more steps and the elevator door still was not open. No bathroom in the pool and spa room. Only one nice girl working at 9 pm. Could not sleep due to cigarettes odor in our pillow and sheets.
Nice property and well maintained. Lobby and common areas were comfortable and well lighted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking spaces were big enough to get in, out and load of car easily Breakfast was partially out (OK) to grab and go way early. Excellent location easy to get to and out of
Wendover is not a great place to stop. The location is noisy, the dog friendly rooms are ok, but the grounds are filled with past pet pieces and bits of food. Unfortunately traveling with a Labrador forces one to either lie about the size of the dog, or stay in lesser accommodations.
Issues: * see the attached photos on hairs, stains, and other items that made the room unclean. * a small fruit jam stuck on a toast slice that was placed in the toast area of the breakfast, this is the first time seeing it, so an isolated issue. Other than that, the breakfast area was very clean and organized. Positives: * Both the front desk staff and the manager were responsive when issues were raised. They both came to the room to help solved it. However, even with their efforts, when the tool isn't effective, you still can't solve completely. For example, the manager brought a big bath towel to wipe and sanitize the bathroom floor, but the towel did not pick up the hairs that should have been vacuumed or picked up. I would not feel comfortable using the bath towel that's being used as a floor mob. A microfiber cloth or animal hair picked up sticker are possible better options. * When providing additional constructive feedback to the front desk staff, Leah, at check out, she received well and thanked me saying if we don't share, they would not know what they have done well and what not. This hotel got a 5 out of 5 on service attitude and responsiveness. Even though it's still not well cleaned. * the elevator and common areas were well cleaned. Choice Hotels and Best Western are not my preferred lodging providers because of their consistency uncleanliness, bad service attitude, and inflexible check in process, compared to that of other hotel brands. This is a better Best Western, and a good option in Wendover if you want to stay sub budget or mid-range. There are casino hotels nearby but all above $200 as staring price. But again, because of its uncleanliness, it's hard for me to give a high rating, but that doesn't mean you should not consider it.
Due to my flight from Dallas being delayed for 8 hours, my friend and I drove overnight from Boise Idaho to Wendover to attend a tour of the Wendover air base in the morning. We arrived at 4 am and departed at 9 am. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning and checked out afterwards. No complaints or issues. Great location. Nice staff.
My review can be found on the actual website. This hotel was horrible. The dog only rooms smelled of urine. I bought a candle to mask the smell. Staff rude. Horrible experience. Value was basically the same as a regular room not original request.
Staff was friendly and beds were comfy. Downsides were that that the toilet paper they decided to go with is the one ply that you can see your hand thru and is like wiping with newspaper,it really is that crumply. The carpet had decent size sticky spots on it. Breakfast was okay,a lot of the grab and go type food looked and tasted old and bacon seemed like that precooked kind that you just heat up,so it was really dry, thin and texture was horrible. They do have a waffle maker you can use along with scrambled eggs,so that was nice.
The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast okay. The only complaint would be the unfriendly front desk staff. I booked for two separate nights a week apart, and found that on both stays the front desk staff a little unwelcoming, nor helpful. I would have thought maybe they were having a bad day, but not when it was two separate stays and different staff on each visit. The housekeeping staff were extremely pleasant.
If you want to stay anywhere in Wendover other than a huge loud Casino, this would be the place to stay. The hotel building itself was nice, looks fairly new, but it appears to have been built between two junkyards so the area immediately around the property is pretty bleak looking. Rooms were fine, nothing special but clean and quiet. Not many food options in town, though. Finally found a small local pizza place that was just ok. For a quick one night stay, it was fine.
Big room and comfortable, complimentary breakfast, can't complain about it. But marked average as nothing unique about the place. Wendover is an unusual place, more of a base for us on a road trip to use the salt flats. Was a walk to be able to get dinner but perfectly doable. Felt expensive for what it was.
We have stayed at this Best Western several times over the past few years. Overall we like the hotel. We were hoping at some point they would replace the mattresses. Instead they put a foam topper on them. Way to soft and no support. A good mattress, clean and quiet room is the three priorities from us and I believe other guests. Also, we stayed two nights, Wednesdays, a week apart and the first night was $20 more expensive than the following Wednesday. The cost should not be dictated on your occupancy. The next time we pass through we may have to choose another hotel.
Traveling across to visit friends in several states. We always try to stay with BW as the service and rooms are always clean and friendly. This hotel was no exception. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. All appliances in the room worked. Travel with pets can at times be trying. This BW was very accommodating of our pet. The breakfast consisted of the traditional on the go items.
Old property. Best of the non casino hotels though. Needs attention to be abw plus property. Old linens and towles. Small spaces, breakfast space very small. Not really afull breakfast. Coffee is in another room. So many guests you couldn't sit. Copper kettle accross the street was a good option.
Sink stopper stuck, t.v. sound would work and then not work, doors on entertainment center (t.v. stand)are sprung (they need to be adjusted to operate properly). Have not had these experiences in previous stays.
This hotel is average so I'm not sure what takes it into the BW Plus category. It is okay but nothing special. The room was clean. The bed comfy. The furnishings okay. The shower was hot. The towels rough. Everything worked but nothing was out of the ordinary. Breakfast was par. The breakfast room is way too small for the number of guests. Standing room only or take it to go. The selection was decent but eggs and bacon were subpar. Again, decent but nothing that elevates it to a Plus property. The neighborhood is ugly (our room overlooked an auto junkyard), the indoor pool was unappealing and the grounds marginally maintained. Numerous other budget hotel chains provide this level of service. There is nothing to say “go elsewhere” but I really wonder how this property got classified as a Plus (higher cost) and not just a BW.
This was a nice place to stay on our way from Colorado Springs to California. The room was clean, but a bit small overall. There was no microwave, but there was a refrigerator with no freezer section. The clerk who checked us in was not overly friendly, but he did his job well. Breakfast was good with lots of options.
Staff was great and we felt very welcomed. They went above and beyond to get our room ready on short notice. Room was very clean and comfortable. We were impressed by our experience with this hotel. We would definitely stay again!!
The bed was comfy and the breakfast had a lot to choose from. Quiet Hotel for being so full. The price of Hotels have doubled so I think the price to stay here was very reasonable. Didn't have to stay in a Casino Hotel were there is lots of smoke.
First time to stay here. Halfway point from Oregon back to Kansas. Easy to make reservations directly with the BWP Wendover Inn. Room was clean, bed great. Appreciated early breakfast to get back on the road. Booked here based on another persons review. Would stay again.
Good breakfast with super clean rooms in a convenient location. Rooms were surprisingly quiet. Paying extra for the larger room was worth it. We had a great stay and will stay again if we need a comfy hotel in Wendover.
The hotel was very clean and quiet. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I accidentally booked the wrong date while traveling. I did not catch this until after check in time but they gave a full refund and we rebooked for 2 days later. Excellent customer service
The bed was very comfortable.Everything else was ok. It was very hard to find a parking spot for us. It was packed with cars and not a lot of spaces. We had to change rooms since our sink would not empty the water. You think the maid would of had this fixed when she realized it didn't work. It was a pain to change rooms after settling in. Probably won't stay there again.
Hotel was standard BW quality. Pool was a little cold and hotel could use some general updates. Breakfast had good selections and there was specific parking for us as we were towing a camper. I appreciated the extra parking space.
Great stay! Very comfy bed. Slim breakfast menu clean and spacious breakfast room. King bed was super comfy but the pillows were small. Great location close to great restaurant options. We'd definitely stay here again :)
So, we'd had a reservation at this hotel initially, but then cancelled because we were going to travel through. However, the fates had other plans. Our vehicle broke down in Wendover on Sunday and we needed a place to stay while we waited for parts. Well, the Best Western was walking distance, so we called and they thought they could get us in, and earlier than normal check in because we had no where to go. They offered to let us hang out in the lobby until a room was ready, which we did. Everyone was really nice, desk clerk even offered to drop us off somewhere when she got off work so we could get some food (as we didn't have a vehicle) Only reason I'm giving it an 'average' for sleep quality was the guests in the room above us...apparently they though it was great to jump on and off the beds until nearly midnight (not to mention running around the room constantly) and started up again at 5am. Nothing the hotel could do about that...I would have called to see if they could get them to stop - but the phone in the room wasn't hooked up. I did let the front desk know about that.
The hotel was overpriced for sure. We paid 190.00 for two queen beds. The sheets and comforters were stained on both beds, so that makes you question is the room clean. It looked pretty clean. There were finger prints on the dark furniture. We wiped everything down with Lysol wipes.
We have been staying at this property for the last 20 years, a perfect half way point between Sacramento and Denver. The staff is always pleasant and have offered great suggestions for places to eat dinner, rooms always been clean and check in has been quite easy. In the past few years we have grown to appreciate the elevator, we are in our late 70's don't need to worry about climbing several flights of stairs
Your agent booked the wrong date no email or and notice cause a no show, there was no help from hotel management to even try to help. I will find another location and put this chain on my DO NOT STAY list!
I'm a little delayed in writing this review, but I do think it's important to warn people. I travel frequently between Northern California and the Dakotas. Occasionally, I end up staying in Wendover. When I do, this Wendover Best Western Plus has historically served my needs well as they are one of the few hotels in the area that allows pets. TLDR: (1) Upon check-in, the night clerk requested to buy quarters off of me. (2) The second bed in the room was stripped of all its linens and pillows when I checked in. (3) When I checked out, I was accused to my face of stealing the linens from the second bed and accused again on the phone after I left. The last time I stayed with them was in February, 2022. I arrived around 11:30 pm and was exhausted from driving all day. I called a few minutes ahead to see if they had rooms and they did. When I pulled into the parking lot, someone (who looked much like the front desk clerk I was about to meet) screeched into the parking lot and ran into the building. When I checked in, she requested to buy quarters off of me, which I thought was really strange. But I was tired, so I really didn't care that much. I go to my room, which had two queen beds in it, and saw that one of the beds was completely stripped of all the linens and pillows. At the time, I didn't care because there was another bed for me to sleep in (which is all I needed), I was exhausted, and had to get up early the next morning to do more driving. So, I didn't say anything about it and went to sleep. The next morning I go to check out. I am the kind of person who just likes to leave the key in the room and leave, but for some reason, I decided to drop the key off at the front desk while my car warmed up. But I was cranky because I was still tired and was facing bad weather during that's day's driving. So, I walked in, dropped the key on the counter and walked out. One of the staff members stopped me as I was walking out and accused me of stealing the bed linens and pillows. I told her it was like that when I checked in and she said to me, "That's impossible. We do checks." I told her I didn't know what to say, that I didn't have her nasty used hotel crap" and walked out. A few minutes later, she calls me as I'm driving and accuses me again. This time I'm not kind and verbally let her have it and again said, "I don't know what you want me to do. I don't have your [expletive] bed linens." She says she's going to check the cameras. I said, "Great! I look forward to the next phone call where you apologize" and hung up. She never called me back. As far as I know, I don't have a warrant out for my arrest in Utah and was never charged for any missing items. I filed a complaint with Best Western corporate online and they suggested I call them, but I don't have time for crap like that. My recommendation to Best Western is to have their people NOT accuse paying customers of stealing their nasty used hotel sheets, blankets, and pillows until AT LEAST they've verified they didn't make a mistake on their end. I think I was still charged $100 for the room, but they didn't charge me for the pet fee, which was better than nothing, I guess. But it wasn't enough to make up for being accused of theft and lying. Who knows what would've happened if I were to call corporate back, but it's too late for that. My recommendation to Best Western customers is (1) Don't give your hard-earned money to a Best Western that thinks it's OK to accuse their customers of theft and then basically call them a liar and (2) If you HAVE TO stay here, make sure everything looks the way it's supposed to when you check in and if it doesn't, say something right away. Or risk being accused of theft. Because of this one Best Western in the middle of nowhere Utah, I will never give any other Best Western my money again. They have lost me as a regular, paying, quiet, low-maintenance customer.
I would definitely stay here. Staff is amazing, beds are comfy, pool and hot tub feel great. They went above and beyond and let us check in even earlier so that I could get changed into my dress for our wedding ceremony
One of the better options when staying in Wendover. The beds were comfortable and the free breakfast was pretty good. The kids had fun in the pool and the front staff was friendly. Overall, a good stay.
Pleasantly surprised. Clean, Updated. Very friendly front desk staff. Breakfast was good. Priced similarly to the casinos. Locale not as good as them, but, a good option. Will definitely stay here again.
Rooms are very clean and pretty quiet. Breakfast is kinda meager - cereal, make your own waffles and not-to-great looking bacon and eggs. Appreciate the fact that while you cannot leave them unattended, they do allow pets.
The only "PLUS" I found with this property was the price. The staff avoided the "Elite" membership perks completely, the room was nothing special and smelled a little off. Access to the back door needs some upgrading, as all the side of building parking spots dump right into the worn lawn, which was muddy during our visit. Now this is a gambling town, and as such a little late night activity is to be expected, but I don't feel like the shower and toilet upstairs from us should be able to wake a person. The neighborhood is sketchy at best, shelled out vehicles and run down mobile homes, although they didn't seem to be the source of any real problems. This was our most expensive room during our two week vacation to the coast.
Recently took a trip with my dog and decided to splurge a little more for this place based on the number of stars. This was the fourth "pet friendly" motel I stayed in on this trip. After checking in the clerk said the dog couldn't be left in the room alone. They have my card AND I paid a deposit. Got up to my room looking forward to heating up my dinner, called and asked where the microwave was and was told there is one microwave in the building next to the lobby. First motel without microwave in the room. Asked if I could just run down either with the dog to heat it up or just leave him for 4 minutes and the response was a very brusque "DOG CANNOT BE IN ROOM ALONE". Based on my experiences at other motels this is very NOT pet friendly. Another thing to consider is that if you want to use the internet be ready to use your phone as a hotspot. Called and explained I could get in but only had one bar and if I tried something as simple as looking at Google maps it would not load (pic). Guy at the front desk said it must be my device. Just using my phone as a hotspot as a result. And, believe or not, me device is working great The room is ok but things are literally aged to the point of falling apart (pic). I wouldn't even bring these things up but I've had way better rooms for half the price. Clerk was really rude as well. Hard pass and will be staying at the Super 8 again next time as it is cheaper, they're more accommodating and actually friendly. In NO way worth the price..
We booked the hotel at a great price for the value. A lot of amenities downstairs to use: laundry, pool, fitness. The breakfast area was clean and had lots of choices such as eggs, bacon, muffins, bagels, sausages, fruits, etc. The room was clean as well. Although, I wished there would have been more towels. There didn't seem to be enough in the room. The closet was nice for hanging your clothes. Cons: The beds were a bit too soft for me to sleep in. The pillows has the same issue as well.
They do a great job at this hotel. Good customer service. Good breakfast. Nice rooms. It is also nice and quiet with really comfortable beds. I am a repeat customer at this one and will be back again.
This is a simple hotel that satisfied our needs. We had our dog and are BW members so we try to stay in this chain when necessary. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Only problem is that I believe people left their dogs in their rooms when they went out. A lot of barking!! Hotel should state that pets cannot be left alone in rooms.
As a Best Western Plus, you'd assume that this would be really nice, as Plus locations are supposed to be nicer. But upon arriving, you can tell that nobody cares on the Utah side, and on the Nevada side you have really nice fancy casinos. All the hotels in Utah were awful crappy 2 star motel crapholes. There was a large hole in the wall from the previous tenant slamming the door handle through, the shower was falling apart, the shower curtain would not stay closed so water flooded the floor. Internet was spotty and you get the sense that the staff really don't care because the place is such a total dump. They only get 1 star for allowing pets and existing. I get that the casinos draw all the money, but that doesn't mean you give up and stop caring.
The property was well taken care of. The room was clean and we had no complaints. Breakfast was not bad at all. But the overall experience was not so good because of one person: the front desk clerk who checked us in. She seemed to not care about her job; no smile and she even looked annoyed when she saw people coming in to check in. She might be in the middle of watching a movie/listening to music on her phone with her earphones visibly on, and she did not have the very basic manners of greeting people, smiling, or even answering questions. For example: when being asked “where is the restroom?”, she used her head to point. Just wow!
Dog Friendly hotel that has clean rooms. It is an older hotel so you can hear a lot of noise from other rooms, but if you are just hear for one night it is not a big deal. Would definitely stay again.
My room was spacious and clean. The check-in process was swift. It's not a deluxe hotel but it's not trying to be. They're doing a good job running a mid-range motel. I've stayed in casino hotels in Wendover and wasn't impressed. This is a nicer experience for a reasonable price.
We always stay here when we in Wendover. Its a nice comfortable, Clean and new hotel. The choices are either from the smoke casing hotel or some really cheap nasty old neglected hotels with atrocious service. At BW you get value for money, awesome friendly staff and a really nice clean hotel. The indoor pool is great and so our little one can always take a swim whether its hot or cold outdoors
After departing Colorado to head to the west coast we decided to cancel our reservation in Utah and head to Wendover. Best Western accommodated our last minute reservation at a very fair price, and conformed our room for swift check-in. VERY clean hotel. Generous sized and immaculate room. Excellent room heating & cooling options. Breakfast service and area cleanliness was A++; great selection - well stocked - spotlessly clean, and a lovely young lady there to help with anything needed. We have been loyal to Marxxxt for years, as travel was critical to our business; now Best Western has earned our future stays as we retire. Everything is clean, thoughtfully designed, well run and reliable for our expectations at each Best Western we visit based upon our stays the past five months ! Oct. 2021
There wasn't anything super special about this stay, but everything was above average. Really, nothing to say, so to the details My usual details: Comparison to others in chain: Better Internet: Didn't really use Breakfast: Worse than average Room: Standard, decent layout with good counter space Cleanliness: Pretty good, but cleaned by someone that isn't too experienced at making hotel beds or was rushed Bed: Good, better than average Bedding: A little worse than average. Shower: Decent, except the curtain rod was installed wrong, which made the shower curtain push to the middle Hard water: No HVAC: Temperature off, not sure it would stay on to get to the temperature, but it eventually got there Location: Fine, not in the center of things, but that's probably good Noise: Loud early, but fine later. Hard to shut out the light Staff: Good Cost/Value: A bit expensive for the area, but it was Saturday
Exceptional BW hotel with inside halls, well sound proofed rooms (we were on top floor), never heard anyone except occasionally in the hallway. Clean and well kept, upscale furnishings, (no micro but one in breakfast room avail 24 hrs). All staff at check in and out, were friendly and efficient and helpful with a demanding full capacity due to World of Speed Race event at the Salt Flats. Cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in at Wendover as they cleaned up tracked in salt quickly including the stairways that are often ignored in other hotels. Breakfast was great as there were hot choices (scrambled-ish eggs, sausage, burritos), waffles, cereal, breads & muffins, juice, cereal and all you needed plus available until 10 am during the week!! A pleasant stay in all ways - even a good restaurant to walk to - Copper Kettle - serving breakfast, lunch, dinner (with a Mexican flair).
Pets being allowed was amazing and didn't cost an arm and a leg. The front desk help pushed me along as if he was in a big hurry. I feel the price was a little steep for the room. But overall not the worst stay.
The room is updated, the bed is comfortable. The room was clean and I was traveling with a pet. Hotel has grassy pet area with clean up bags provided. Could hear normal guests laughing in hallway and walking around above.
My husband I stayed two nights our room was large with comfortable beds. The front desk employees and breakfast peoplewere very nice and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again when traveling out west.
Hotel was great, clean rooms and had a pillow selection. Like firm pillows and was given a choice on the bed between firm and soft. Disappointed with the noise from grown adults in the morning 5:30 am with door slamming and talking out side your door. But hotel not responsible for stupid people.
I don't know any longer what constitutes a Best Western "Plus" rating, because my experiences over the last 2 months of traveling & staying in various BWs is that there is no consistency in the upkeep, cleanliness, or quality between any of the various BW designations--some "regular" BWs are superb, some "Best" BWs are dingy and filthy, some are not. There is no dependability and I'm done with this chain. They are being relegated to they bottom of my list for choice of hotels. Points about this particular one: 1. The carpets are filthy. I put on clean white socks to avoid being barefoot on the carpet & the bottom of my socks are dark grey! The same can be said of the carpet in the tired looking "breakfast" room. 2. The pressboard furniture in our room is in serious disrepair, with chips and gouges (this includes the shower door). The chest of drawers front that covers the fridge scrapes on the floor and is seriously chipped on the bottom. It's worse than IKEA stuff. 3. Some towels are sandpaper and some are kind-of soft, but all are worn & old. 4. No chair in the room except for the desk; nowhere else to sit but the bed (not what I think of as "Plus"). 4. Guest bathroom tile floor near check-in doesn't look like it's been swept or washed for a while--filthy. 5. Breakfast choices: bananas overripe and tossed on a table meant for customers. Very tasteless eggs (powdered?) cut into squares & just disgusting, pastries and breads were stale. 6. No ice machine on 2nd floor although signage says "Ice & Vending". All-in-all, I spent more $$ on this room than I did at the Peppermill in Reno, & there is no comparison. Best Western Corporate: You have finally lost a long-time customer--I will not frequent your hotel chain again. Unlike Forrest Gump, I like to know "what's in my chocolate"!
Best Westerns are always clean and comfortable with great beds and linens and helpful, cheerful, efficient staff. This trip was no exception. Good service, room on the ground floor as requested. Felt safe during COVID.
Friendly efficient staff, clean and very comfortable room. Bonneville Speed Week made the stay 2x more expensive when pre-planned. Guests arrived same day paid half of what I was charged. But every thing else fine.
We stayed here on an overnight visit to Wendover while traveling through on vacation. The hotel is at the end of town, so it is quiet. The place was clean, help was friendly, laundry machines worked well and breakfast was hot and tasty. Our room was large and beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
The room was clean, quiet and the staff was friendly. There were enough plugs for recharging electronics, something that has not always been true on this trip. It was nice to have a hot breakfast available, but the breakfast room is way too small for this facility. There was nowhere available to sit and a bit of a wait at the waffle maker.
Definitely not worth the cost compared to nicer places down the strert. The place is in between two junkyards so location looks bad and feels sketchy. Inside is ol but not good. The shower head held on with maski g tape. Drain plug broken. Resorts in West Wendover are just two miles away, way nicer and cheaper.
So nice to stay in a quality property. Clean, well maintained, large pool, free breakfast, internet, and enough channels on the TV so that we we even got to see the Stanley Cup game (hockey doesn't appear in most hotel options., so this very much appreciated.) Close enough to casinos to visit, far enough away you don't have to be tempted. This was obviously the very nicest free standing property.
We were there for one night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Checking in was quick and easy. The pool was open with restrictions. It was clean. Our beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was good.
Westbound on I-80 concluding our 11 day road trip we were seeking lodging about mid-way between Casper, WY and our home in California. We were unable of a Best Western in Wendover, UT but were assisted in obtaining lodging for the night of June 25th through Best Western Reservations. We found the hotel to be one of the good ones - clean rooms, nice amenities, ease of location to dining, and a more complete breakfast experience than found in several of the other hotels stayed at during our trip. High recommend this property if travel takes you to Wendover, UT (or West Wendover, NV - the two are one and the same, just the states are different).
This might be the rudest registration I have experienced. I am a Diamond member but I tried to make my reservation on their website and it wasn't working from where I was I had to make it on Booking.com. When I checked in I mentioned this to the clerk and out of nowhere a guy ( I assume a manager) butted in and in a very loud voice said due to I booked it with Booking I shouldn't be asking for upgrades( I didn't) or expect Diamond service. He said it as if to teach me and everyone in the lobby a lesson. I had booked two rooms close to each other, we were given one on the first floor and one on the third floor. The bathroom was small and the floor wasn't the right type of flooring for a bathroom???????? Breakfast was good one thing in their favor.... I will not stay there again as there are many other hotels in the area.
We didn't want to stay in a casino, so we decided on a hotel on the UT side of town. This is one of the more expensive hotels to stay at, so we expected more than what we experienced. There was a stain on the bedspread, the chair should be tossed or recovered (see picture) and we had three towels for a 4 person room - easy enough to remedy right? Quick call to the front desk and even though the reaction was an expected ‘sure' - an hour later, no fix. I would lower your expectations, or stay at the Quality Inn where our friends had a better experience.
Room was not accommodating to my disability. The front desk person did not seem to care. I had a need for extra rooms which could have gotten a better price since they were extra rooms for me and my guests. Late check out was not approved by front desk person. Felt more like a burden than a guest.
We got in late, woke next morning to leave an they handed us a brown bag for our breakfast. Which consists of half bottle of water, banana, half yogurt, pastry (half size, that was stale) for $100 for 12 hrs an I call it No breakfast! Everything else was good.
Our get away night together was disturbed by this bad experience. First of all when I pull the sheets back there was a hair which leads me to believe that they were not fresh sheets. Secondly the smoke alarm battery went dead about 3 AM so it beeped all night long. Then when we try to get up and shower the next morning, the showerhead was not adjustable and sprayed the back wall of the shower so you could barely get under the water. Also, the soap dispenser was broken so I had to get out of the shower to go get the bar soap to you use. As well, the shampoo was empty. Now, considering people pay $120 for these rooms, we should still be able to also have the amenities of the hotel, such as the exercise room and the hot breakfast. Covid does not stop places like Golden Corral or VASA from having customers. THESE ARE THE SAME SERVICES! This this means that the hotel itself has decided not to offer amenities to its customers. Makes me feel cheated. I could have paid $70 at Motel6 for a better stay. Not the best experience!
In an otherwise very nice room, there sat this chair, an inexplicable eyesore that stood out like a sore thumb. We would have liked to have another chair to sit in, but neither one of us wanted to touch this abomination. We stayed here with our dog and were very pleased with the location of the room near the nice, well-lighted outdoor pet area. Would recommend staying here and would do so again.
We chose the Best Western Plus Wendover Inn because of the advertised high-level COVID-19 sanitizing practices. We were told that it was their POLICY (and we assumed therefore their practice) to keep rooms UNOCCUPIED for at least 24 hours in between guests. We believed that the "WE CARE CLEAN" program would be implemented in all rooms at all hotels. Well, we were bamboozled! It turned out that our room was NOT empty for 24 hours before our arrival. And we were not informed of this at check-in. We now have to quarantine to assure the safety of our family and friends. No thanks to Best Western!
It appeared the hotel had recently been remodeled as the carpeting and over all furnishings were in excellent condition. Unfortunately the Cover restrictions didn't allow for breakfast to be served so I have no opinion for that.
Reasonably priced and nice appearance however bed in King room was not very comfortable little too hard for my likings. Would have been nice if there was a microwave in the king room as stated on the website. Due to Covid breakfast was in to go bags and would have been nice if they had bagels with cream cheese more healthy.
Stayed here while traveling through Nevada. Always stay at Best Westerns. This one I will not stay at again. There was what looked like a blood stain on comforter, was it washed prior or not, I am not sure. When I checked in I commented about prices being different, prices are what they are for rooms available is what I was told. Carried all my stuff to room, only to find no microwave. So I ate a cold dinner. I walk down to get coffee after I had drank my 2 cups provided in my room to be told that was all there was, no coffee downstairs. I am a diamond member & it took forever to get that straighten out, not sure if it still has been. Will not stay again. Wifi did work. Good thing as not all TV stations would come in.
During these Covid times , the place was pretty empty and felt clean. Wish they had hand sanitizer in more public places other then at the front desk! All previous comments re toiletries are accurate .... I prefer individual bottles of soap etc but I understand why some hotels are going to wall dispensers . The brown bag breakfast was cute and sufficient even though I like warm breakfast options . Would stay here again .
Like other reviews we found the room was clean, nice and had what you needed. It is pet friendly and there is a pet area just outside the back door with bags for picking up after your pets. The place was quiet and we were able to get a good nights sleep. Beds are comfortable. They still provide a bag breakfast with - banana, yogurt, juice, cheese stick, cereal bar, water and a rock hard small Danish-not very good or satisfying at all.
Front desk was very friendly. Rooms are comfortable. We had a quiet nights sleep. Grab and go breakfast was underwhelming, but netter then nothing. Could put a napkin in bag.and more then 2 regular coffee pods on room since they don't serve coffee in lobby .
We arrived from Moab tired hungry after caught in a traffic snail crawl for almost an hour. Arriving at 8.30pm and learning that the restaurants would be closed real soon we left immediately with our luggage after registration to find a place to eat in one of the casinos in Nevada. Came back and were not disappointed to find our rooms were decent clean and comfortable. Had a great sleep and it was thoughtful of the Management to organize a packed Breakfast to be picked up at the desk. The pack has a small bottle of water a tub of yogurt banana a stick cheese and a health food bar... healthy enough to fill up one's tummy with the self brewed room coffee facilities!
We stayed the night here after visiting the Bonneville Salt Flats. Hotel was conveniently located and had ample parking. We had a double queen with a view of the parking lot. Positives room was clean had ample soaps in bath, had enough towels. One bar of soap and lotion for the sink outside the bath. Beds were clean and pillows were sufficient. Mattresses could have used a little more firmness, but I slept well since I was tired. The blackout curtains were too short for the window so the light from the parking lot shined in all night, and the light from the hall from the other end. Carpeting in the main areas of the hotel- hall, elevator were disgusting and could use a shampoo. Staff was friendly and they provided a bag breakfast with a wide variety of food - banana, yogurt, juice, cheese stick, cereal bar, water and a rock hard danish. Covid protocols in place. This was one of the better hotels for the area, which is kinda depressed anyhow. Overall a satisfying stay and quiet hotel.
Great stay! Hubby and I stayed one night, room was VERY CLEAN!!! Beds and pillows were super comfy! Couple things...bathroom didn't have a trash can and the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser that's in the shower was very stingy. One drop per press of the button. Otherwise a really nice place to stay.
Room was clean and comfortable, but several pieces of furniture were extremely run-down. (Just weird, that they wouldn't replace the TV cabinet which has been so obviously damaged, or the armchair that is showing cracking, weathered faux leather). The walls were SUPER thin, however, We could hear entire conversations from the room next to us, and the kids (I hope they were kids) right above us jumped and thumped incessantly when we checked in around 5pm. That being said, the price is right, the rooms were clean, and we appreciated the grab and go breakfast (modified to such due to COVID-19). Be aware all common areas are completely closed at the moment due to the pandemic. (Pool, fitness center, etc).
Room was exceptionally clean. Room was a very comfortable temperature and block out curtains were perfect. Due to COVID-19, the breakfast was bagged but it was perfect, healthy and filling, satisfying
Beware the pool is not in operation. The staff was friendly and the to-go breakfast was okay. Place is well kept up. We would come back to this place. Close enough to casinos that you can walk to there.
This is one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed at. They are friendly and accommodating. The beds are wonderful, like sleeping on a cloud. The place is really clean and the rooms are large. No complaint on this one. 5 stars.
Very courteous and efficient desk clerk. Room was very nice and super clean. The hotel was in very clean and modern condition. I have stayed at many Best Western facilities, and this was as expected very superior to other hotel chains.
Stayed the night on a road trip. Check in was quick, rooms were clean and well-supplied, beds are comfy. Good road trip stop. Appears to have a decent amenity stack but it was all closed because covid.
The front desk was rude and unprofessional, with a first glance being seeing their kid behind the counter during Covid-19 when everyone is supposed to be keeping it clean. The cupboard was broken and they had no microwave that was featured in the ads. No breakfast, no gym, no pool - even though others Best Westerns have them open right now. They continually called the room to tell us to move our vehicle, despite my wife telling them I'd be back in a half hour and had the keys. They continued to call her, disrupting her peace after 2 days on the road.
We stayed here on a 5000 mile trip that took place over 17 days in which we stayed in 11 different properties. I'd rate this 7th of the 11. I'd be willing to stay here again. It's clean and the breakfast is what you would expect. When we arrived the room was fairly cold (about 65), so we upped the thermostat to 73 and went to dinner. When we got back after an hour or so, it was quite warm, so we turned it down to 68 for sleeping. The temperature never went down much overnight. The mattress was comfortable, but the bedding was a problem for winter. It consists of a spread (which can be removed), a filled blanket, and a sheet. If you sleep under the blanket, you'll get too hot; but if you use just the sheet, you'll be a bit chilled. So I wouldn't say that sleep quality was great.
We came for the concert and wasn't wanting the casino smoke so we opted for this hotel. I would absolutely stay here again. We got a suite with a jetted tub-it was a very spacious room and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The parking lot was pretty full but we didn't really hear other guests. We will definitely stay here again.
Good free breakfast with eggs, some burritos, sausage, bacon, cereal, waffles, etc. Bed comfortable, did not notice any noise. Remote for TV kept cutting out but perhaps that was batteries. Shower good, soap dispensers on wall in shower. Dogs welcome. Puzzling: we got an email from them that asked us if we wanted to pre-register---we did and did not see any reference to it when we arrived and so have no clue as to why it was an option----made no difference that we're aware of
Absolutely worth the price, especially when you see what else is available nearby. Avoid the massive crowds and cigarette smoke at the casinos. Very much up to the Best Western standard! Indoor pool and spa was nice and the rooms were super clean and tidy.
We come through for one night every year while travelling for business and the accomodations are always clean and comfortable and the staff is always great. What else do you need? We'll be back. Thanks for another nice stay.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was very nice and clean. The grounds were well kept. The breakfast was very good. The selection of breakfast items was better than most and the staff kept everything stocked. This is one of the better stays I have experienced. 5 stars for me.
This is a well maintained property. The only missing amenity was a microwave in the room. Excellent breakfast offering. HOWEVER, any noise on the floor of a second floor room is amplified to the unit below on the first floor-- poor construction. It sounded like a herd of elephants above us until midnight and started again in ithe morning. We would not stay there again unless we were guaranteed a second floor room.
The pre-arrival check-in was very convenient; the staff member at the check-in desk was knowledgeable and polite; the room was clean and comfortable. Although the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke, the room was fine.
This hotel provides a great value. We stayed for 5 nights for work, which is likely not their normal guest. We had an ATV trailer and it was difficult to get navigate and park in the parking lot when the hotel was a partial occupancy. Street parking is limited due to nearby towing company. The walls and floors are very thin. We were kept awake by people coming and going all night, most likely casino goers. We brought a well behaved dog and the accommodations for him were great. A neighboring room left their much less behaved dog in their room while going to the casinos. It took listening to barking for 2 hours before the front desk attendant attempted contacting the other guest. Be prepared if traveling for work and not play.
All the furnishings need to be replaced. For example, the cabinet door to the refrigerator was about to fall off its hinges, plus it was badly damaged (probably from the vacuum cleaner banging into it all the time). The leather chair/ottoman was disgusting; the ottoman was totally beat up. In addition, the window in the room needs fixing, because it leaked. Side Note: I suspect the hotel in Wendover is under new management. The deteriorating condition of the room was a surprise; this wasn't the first time we've stayed in the room we had this last trip. Overall, the hotel seems to be deteriorating. I do have to say the breakfast is very good, though.
No microwave in room. Told microwave came with room Staff employee said only in lobby. And was short w me when I reported. Was afraid someone stole at first when shelf for microwave empty. Room did not seem clean. Location was good
We were driving from Oregon to Colorado and wanted some place about halfway. I really didn't know what to expect. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very clean and has obviously been renovated. Room was a nice size, clean and with a nice bed. Hotel was quiet.
Really nice and clean place. Everyone was kind, and helpful. I highly recommend it. Also provides continental breakfast and everything really close to Hotel. Walking distance from casino and convenient store.
Everybody was nice the food was great the bed was soft the room was clean it was just what I need for a good night sleep I would tell all the driver at my company if you in this area go spend a night with Best Western
I stay here 2-3 times a year. Stayed at casino hotels on the Nevada side of Wendover in years past. This Best Western is much nicer, and only a couple blocks from the Nevada side of town. The air museum is only a few blocks from this hotel. Highly recommend a visit.
Not up to Best Western Standards. The front desk personnel have the attitude of prison guards, never cracked a smile or kind word. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom needed a good cleaning. The drain in the sink and tub were clogged, which made for an interesting morning . Breakfast area is ridiculously small. Oh, and on the way out I said a cheery" Good Morning!" to the desk person. She just waved me on. Customer service needs a kick in the butt.
If you don't want to stay at a casino, this is probably the best option. Stay was good except property security light was almost shinning right into my window. Breakfast was fine, except sour milk the first day. They did bring out fresh, but it took a little while. Would stay again.
Driving cross country with our granddaughter and a loaded pickup this was a good stop. Fence around the whole place and security cameras too. I felt comfortable parking overnight. The place does look like it needs a facelift but the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was ok. Would stay here again.
Stayed here for 3 nights over speed week. Very helpful staff, super speedy housekeeping. Breakfast was better than expected. Mini omelettes, bacon, fruit, waffles and a lovely selection of fruit & nuts for your cereal. Great water pressure in the shower. But why do you only get 3 towels? Four please! Otherwise good. Don't know how they keep on top of all the salt being tracked in everyday though! Would drive me bonkers!
The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was decent with bacon, little omelettes, breakfast burritos, and standard continental fare. As a plus, in addition to orange juice, they also had cranberry juice, which is a personal favorite of mine. On the downside, they were very short-handed. The toilet became plugged, and the desk clerk could only hand us a plunger to take care of it ourselves, because he was the only person on staff. He was very apologetic, and we understood his predicament. Still, don't expect any extra service here. We have come to expect fresh baked cookies at check-in at Best Western Plus hotels, but sadly, there were no cookies here. While this is not in any way the hotel's fault, I should also note that there are hardly any restaurants right nearby. There was one diner basically right across the street from the hotel that was okay but definitely nothing special.
My friend and I stayed at this hotel on a trip to Wendover to see a concert. The room was basic, but very clean, and the beds were super comfortable...we slept like babies:) I was so happy to stay at the Best Western instead of a casino hotel...I don't like having to drag my stuff through a casino to check in and out.
Stayed here one night on my way to Ruth, NV. Turned out to be a clean, decent place to rest up. Price for value was good. Hotel is clean. Bedding was good quality. Just off interstate and near some nice casinos.
As I was travelling across the country with a cooler full of perishables, I appreciated having a mini fridge in the room. The view out the window was unremarkable of an empty lot next door. The second floor I was on was very quiet and the room well air conditioned. No issues with the room or bathroom or shower. The Wi-Fi was anything but high speed and you could barely surf the web or even load emails. Parking is all along the west side of the building and the spots fill up the later the day gets. I found a good spot by one of the entry doors and was able to haul all my luggage relatively easily.
July 20, 2018....Customer Safety is not high on their list! Hotel was nice, clean, friendly and a nice relief from the summer heat. However, that being said...spent over 45 minutes laying on my back, outside, next to the main entrance. The hotel was allowing a minivan to park blocking the main entrance. this left only a very narrow space to approach the lobby. I caught my foot on the raised concrete launching me into the air and falling on my left shoulder. There is not a hospital in Wendover. Shattered shoulder had to be replaced. second surgery for repairs this year. Never heard from the hotel. Be very cautious you don't become a victim!
When we booked our room today we didn't realize it was immediately adjacent to the strip across the Nevada side of the border where there are a jillion casino hotel rooms. But this hotel is very nice - looks like it's either recently remodeled or new. large rooms with good prices. the front desk was efficient and friendly. The room price includes breakfast. everything looks clean - parking comes at a premium but there were enough parks mediately adjacent hotel. They have a good elevator and ice machines. A good place to stay!!
Awesome place. Clean and very friendly staff. Quiet and best beds around. Nice big rooms. Extremely nice. Would stay here every time in town. Breakfast was great and plenty of options. Staff very helpful
This hotel is in Utah but just a few feet away is Nevada and the town of West Wendover, which has some nice casinos. So, if you don't want to stay in an expensive and smoky casino, Best Western Plus is the place to stay. It's very nicely appointed and comfortable. We just stayed for one night as we were on our way home to California but we would definitely stay there again.
I have stayed at many Best Western Plus and they are the greatest. This one was just as good as the others. The staff was very good and friendly. They our stay for one night that must better. They have a very good breakfast too. We always try to stay in Best Western Plus hotels.
Great value for the money! Rooms are clean. Service is good. Breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again. It beats paying for resort fees at the hotel casinos down the street that dont offer breakfast.
Very easy on and off. Room was clean. Breakfast was very nice with make your own waffles and fresh egg omelette, burritos, bacon. Also lots of other options. Easy access to West Wendover and casinos.Quiet rooms.
The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and the coffee was above average for hotel coffee. We would stay here again. I'm a little irritated that Trip Advisor requires 200 characters when I have already made my point.
We have't stayed at a Best Western for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised. It looked as though the motel had been remodeled lately, Everything was up to date and clean. Bed was super comfortable and room was quite large , moderate priced This place beats the heck out of any other Motels in Wendover, although you have to drive to the Casinos you don't get that smoke smell. We would stay hear again anytime. Breakfast was pretty good with an assortment of items.
Great place to stay in Wendover. Very clean, hospitable staff and a good breakfast. After a long day doing photos it was nice to come back and rest. Our room had a couch and it was comfy! They have laundry services, a pool and spa indoors and a fitness area. The Lobby is pretty and offers comfortable seating.
The room was clean but it didn't feel so, everything looks worn out. Bed very comfy. They should at least put a bench in the smoking area. Staff was kind, breakfast was good. I didn't hear any noise and slept well
My wife and I staying the night at the Best WESTERN in Wendover Nevada and are very pleased with our room. The room is very clean and spacious. We definitely recommend this motel as a quiet place to stay. We will not partake in the breakfast in the morning due to our schedule.
Wendover,NV: Website claims newly refurbished rooms if this is true, then they must of gotten the furniture from the 2nd hand store or the DUMP! DIRTY & STAINED BEDDING, TORN CURTAIN, FURNITURE IN DISREPAIR, INCLUDING MISSING HANDLES. Had to ask for trash bags even!!
Away from the casinos is where I wanted to stay. No smoke, nice room, pool, good breakfast. That's what I found at the Best Western. The staff were very helpful. The only downside I found was a slow wifi.
This Best Western Plus is clean and comfortable. It's a solid hotel. The exercise room was in disrepair and the one piece of equipment didn't work. They offer passes to a local gym which is not for everyone. Rooms were clean, but in need of a little repair with broken lamps. They offer breakfast which is really good and starts early so that you can get up and go at 6AM. The hotel staff was always positive and helpful, especially Rick who checked me in and worked the evening shift.
This hotel was typical of Best Western Plus. The bed was comfy, room as clean as any hotel room. (I don't expect them to be immaculate as apparently some do.) Staff seemed friendly, but if you are nice to them, most are. (I see people complain about unfriendly staff, but I think it depends on how you approach them.) Breakfast was good and included things such as yogurt, cereal, eggs, coffee, juice, milk, pastries, etc. And if people are noisy at a hotel, think about how you behave. Many people don't seem to think anything about talking loudly in the hall or walking heavily in an upstairs room. I wish travelers in general would be a little more aware of how they behave and how it could be affecting others. This was a nice place and we would stay here again.
This hotel is average, but it's not worth the price they charge. I wouldn't stay here again. The upstairs guests were very noisy. It is a pet friendly property and the grass area was nice. It wasn't very large, but it was okay.
First, let me say that Rick, the person at the desk was great; helpful, unflappable, and professional with everything we saw him do. The rooms were big, the bed comfortable, everything worked, and the cleaning staff does a very good job. Lot of coffee in the breakfast area and it was OK to fill my thermos without feeling I was overdoing it. Breakfast was better than most and the burritos were very good. We took full advantage of the hot tub to unwind after 9 hours on the road and everything was clean and neat and lots of nice hot water. We stayed here again a week later on our return trip and were just as satisfied with the experience.
While I have stayed at this hotel before, my previous experience was with an upstairs room at the far end of the hotel. This time we received a room assignment in the middle of the hotel on the first floor and were not able to sleep due to the noise in the hallway, the noise from people walking in their room on the second floor and the noise of the plumbing in each and every room above and beside us (toilet flushes and shower). The breakfast selection was ok but I have enjoyed a wider selection at BW's that didn't pass themselves off as a BW Plus, so I was unimpressed. Since there are not many other choices in town other than the casinos, we will be looking for an upstairs on the far end room assignment should we ever return to this hotel again in the future.
I will be staying here for all my trips to Wendover. I was skeptical at first about not staying at a casino. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were as expected for a hotel. Try it out you won't be disappointed.
Have stayed here a number of times and had a good nights sleep with good breakfast. Hotel rooms are comfortable, modern, WiFi has strong signal, lots of hot water for shower, and parking area seems secure. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They are pet friendly including cats.
This hotel doesn't meet Best Western standards, in my opinion. I was greeted by a stone faced male desk person who never smiled, wasn't particularly friendly, and never offered me water as a BW member. The whole place seemed dark, like they were using the lowest wattage bulbs that they could, in their lights. The carpet was a very dark mix of brown, black and possibly other colors, such that you couldn't tell if it was clean or dirty. All this created an uncomfortable start to our stay. Once in the room, I will give them props on two things: the shower was excellent, and the bed and linens were very clean and fresh. However, the bathroom was tiny, and the shower had pump shampoo, conditioner and lotion, of which the conditioner was empty (my wife uses it). Pump shampoo is normally only found at the cheapest and lowest of budget hotels, not BW. While the room itself was OK, there was no lamp at the desk so I had to turn on the dim floor lamp across the room and make do the best I could. I believe this is a bad reflection on the BW Plus brand, and not as good as the others where we have stayed.
Staff have been very nice and the prices are reasonable. We had a nice room that was quiet and close to back door for easy in and out. I do want to mention that it takes a LONG time for hot water to make it to the end rooms. I had a shower, hair washed and legs almost shaved before the water went from luke warm to nice and toasty.
This is a very nice hotel, the room exceeded our expectations, the staff is very courteous and helpfull. Will use this hotel again in the future! The whirlpool inroom was amazing. We were in town for the Trace Adkins concert, had a great time!
It's not the old Best Western anymore. Many of the hotels, including this one have upgraded their appearance and operations to make it comfortable for travelers. This was our second stay at the Wendover Best Western Plus and we were not disappointed. Friendly service is evident throughout this hotel. It's very comfortable for a stop-over. I would recommend it to a friend and will most likely stay there again if we are traveling West.
Every thing has been good so far last stay was only time i have had an issue with the wendover location front desk is always helpful location is a quiet one which is needed when you drive all day 4 stars of 5
Ended up "stuck" in Wendover for the weekend. If you're not into casino gaming, it didn't look like there was much to offer in this tiny outpost border town. (But do make a point to drive to West Wendover and snap a pic of the iconic giant Wendover Will.) Some of the other lodgings were pretty sketchy. (If you are bored, be sure and read the reviews for Western Ridge Motel, hilarious!) Even if a hotel puts together a great website, the vibe of the place can be completely off putting. But from the minute I drove up, I knew I was in the right place at BW. Grounds well kept & nicely manicured. Automatic front doors. Everything bright & modern. My room, a double (no singles available) was spotless. Limited counter space at sink area but certainly workable. In-room coffee & fridge. No in-room microwave although one is available in the breakfast area. Flatscreen TV but not much to choose from in the way of movie channels (local cable?) Still, they had the basics including TWC and free wifi with great signal strength so I was able to stream Netflix, etc. Several easily accessible electrical outlets on bedside & desk lamps for chargers. Bed was comfortable with nice linens. but in my opinion pillows need to be replaced soon. Even though there were 4 pillows on each bed, I couldn't find one that wasn't somewhat lumpy. Towels were on the thin side but clean. Bedside nightstand had beautiful marble top, but drawers were broken. I have no doubt that had the previous guest reported it, it would have been corrected. Standard continental, with the odd but fun offering of fortune cookies, was kept clean & items promptly restocked. Wonderful grassy pet area ~ no stickers made my little dog happy. Overall no complaints and would most definitely stay here again.
For years,as while traveling through Wendover, our stops have been at one of the three casino hotels. Never again. This Best Western is located just a few blocks away, it's in a great spot with a well lit parking area. Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable with plenty of room. We also SAVED money over an out dated “casino” room and had free breakfast. This will be our new favorite spot to stay
Very nice hotel, great people, awesome breakfast, rooms very comfortable, hot tub and pool was wonderful, decor was very nice, bathrooms was ver nice and everything was very clean, easy on and off the freeway,
This place is pretty nice over all first I liked the customer service at front desk and the rooms are pretty clean witch that's really important to me also their breakfast is no to bad it all. Nice for the price
clean room and lobby. breakfast was basic but good. good simple selection cereal, omelet, cheese burrito. coffee, tea, milk, cocoa, juice available you get a better rate with online services, than through the Best Western site. both better than calling.
I wanted to get away for my birthday weekend. Wendover was a short trip. Found this hotel. Great experience. Best parts are very clean, easy to get in and out, close to everything, breakfast was good but staff made it great.
The room we had was great, clean, quiet. The hotel is about a half mile from any of the casinos so it's pretty quiet. There is a fridge in the room. Bathroom was clean and nice. Pretty normal hotel room but the cost was less than staying in the casino
We pass through for one night same time every year driving from Denver to Sacramento. Always a welcome stop. Rick and the staff are always great. And the restaurants and casinos down the way are easy to get to. Nice soft beds!!! We'll be back.
We went to Wendover to see the Gary Allan Concert - great show. We opted to stay here instead of a casino. So nice to not have the smell of smoke permeating the halls etc. The stay was quite pleasant, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. We will stay here again.
We were celebrating a friend's birthday in Wendover and needed and reasonably priced place to stay. We are so happy we found the Best Western Plus! It is modern, clean and very comfortable. On top of that, the staff was friendly and accommodating for our larger group.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at with the Best Western logo on it. I had noisemakers above me the first night. The person at the front desk moved me to the top floor, problem solved. I went to work and when I got back that evening my keycard no longer worked. Headed to the front desk and the guy tells me it was never switched in their computer. Honest mistake right? They took all my stuff out of the room and piled it up in a basket. Upon going thru my basket of belongings, I find all the clothes that were hanging at the bottom of the basket, my food from the refrigerator (now spoiled) above the now wrinkled clothes, my electronics on top of the weeping food then my toiletries on top of it all. The kid at the front desk gave me many reasons why this was their fault, “the guy that switched your room hardly ever works here” and “ when he moved you it was only to sleep there, not to move your belongings to”. I called into their corporate office and let them know, but that was 3 weeks ago and I never heard anything back. I travel at lest 150 days across much of the western US. This hotel is an embarrassment to the brand and the customer service line needs to take a hint from their competitors. I had to be over 2 hours late to work due to doing laundry because of the person who decided to compile my belongs so haphazardly. I will be letting my Best Western membership collect some dust and I would advise you to as well.
The room was updated and comfortable. The mattress was a bit lumpy but ok. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was above average. I'd stay here again. Lots of tv channels. Internet was good.
Rating them against other Best Western Plus's, they barely get average. Against just normal best westerns they are still just average. Breakfast was below average for Plus's. The room was the best part. I got a Jacuzzi suite and that was pretty good. Not amazing, but worth it. Definitely better than going to the casino rooms and paying a resort fee.
Visited on return from Thanksgiving holiday. A good value on a seemingly mature BW property. Did note that room's bathroom fan was non-functioning, and bathtub slow to drain. All wall soap containers were empty. Carpeted floors seemed ready for some rejuvenation and deep cleaning. Elevator seemed to shake and stutter excessively indicating some maintenance required. So it seems some details are not being met.
Wherever I go, I will stay at a best western hotel if there is one and the price doesn't go crazy in some popular dates. It's really the best value I ever found. Clean, tidy and breakfast is good enough. Highly recommend it
We spent one night here during our three-week road trip. This is a newer Best Western. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and very quiet. It is a well-maintained facility. The king bed was comfortable with nice linens, and we had a restful night's sleep. Our room had also had a sofa, a nice flat screen TV, and mini-refrigerator. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. The included breakfast was adequate, but had a somewhat limited selection of food. The breakfast room seemed cramped. We thought the room rate was very reasonable. The towels in the bathroom were thin and subpar for a Best Western Plus. We had a good dinner a shot walk across the street at Copper Kettle restaurant.
Quite location friendly staff. In a cool little town with a lot of history. The bed was comfortable. The room was large and clean. Easy to find and get in and out of. Parking was good but didn't have a lot of room if you have a trailer
Friendly check in. The room was nice but the desk was rickety (we thought if we put anything on it, it would collapse), the chair arm was worn through, and the decorative pillow on the bed was stained. The room faced east and there were vehicles idling on the street next to the hotel. Our room was near the front desk so a bit noisy. I would recommend asking for a room on the second floor overlooking the parking lot. Breakfast was a normal BW breakfast. The hotel was not as nice as other Plus hotels where we have stayed.
It was a half way point for our trip. The staff at the front desk were pleasant. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was standard and adequate. We enjoyed our quick stop here and recommend it on your travels.
It was a great place to stay. Clean and very friendly service. Room was very clean and the bed was excellent. We did not find anything bad about our stay. We will use this Best Western plus again. Thanks.
After a very long drive, it was a nice, clean and quiet room. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our room request. The breakfast was at 6 am, but disappointed that there wasn't any pancake batter and everything else limited.. including coffee.
Fairly standard BW establishment in this grim town. Friendly front of house and a very reasonably priced pleasant room. Didn't risk the breakfast. Good access to the salt flats and a good base for exploring the area outside the town.
very nice and the cleaning staff is great the main house keeper is wonderful, very helpfull and friendly, i would recommend this hotel to all my friends passing thru or just staying to gamble.the breakfast is good and the area is very clean
The nicest hotel in Wendover Utah side and has FREE breakfast unlike the casinos on the West Wendover Nevada side. Swimming pool and fitness room is a plus and has a nice check-in waiting area with computer access, TV and fireplace. TV in the guest rooms are in Hi-Def but the channels are NOT, however, there are lots of channels to choose from. The noise level is high during high peak times (EX: late check-in, mornings and especially the weekends). Parking is descent during the weekdays but the weekends are VERY crowded and you may find yourself parking out on the main street. Small doggies are welcomed here, too. We started staying here because the prices of the hotel casinos went up about 50% more and didn't offer much amenities and Best Western chains have a loyalty program that is really good.
I stayed at BW Plus in Wendover for one night in Sept 2018. The booking, check-in, and check-out processes were quick and painless. The staff was super helpful and I noticed no issues with the room. Nice decor, clean, everything worked just fine. The town is small but the hotel was nice and within walking distance of food and entertainment. Nice place to stay!
Our recent stay at the Best Western Plus Wendover Inn was very nice. The hotel is is in a great location and makes enjoying the surrounding area easy and worry free. The staff is proffesional and works hard at insuring that guest needs are met. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable and towels and linens are of good quality. The breakfast buffet is average compared to other Best Western Plus hotels we've stayed at. Overall, this is an excellent hotel to stay at when visiting the Wendover area.
This motel has clean grounds and rooms, and friendly and competent staff. I stay there several times during the year when I am on my way to other locations. It's conveniently located on the main street. Has always been clean and good value for the room charge.
This was our first night in a hotel with our 6 year old dog. We were nervous and uncertain about the reception and how it would go. We were pleasantly welcomed and our room was lovely. I did not feel like we were given a crumby room reserved for people with dogs. We were only there for one night, on our way from CA to CO. The pet fee was $10. Breakfast was limited and not quite as tasty as I have had at other Best Western Plus Hotels, but it was adequate. Very few if any selections for gluten free peeps. There is a vendor with a stall in the lobby that offers g-free, but it was closed when we were there. Best Western beds are comfy. I have yet to stay at one that has lousy beds. Since we were just traveling through we did not use other amenities. Frig is always useful for re-freezing cooler icepacks and keeping food fresh. Last December we stayed at a different motel, for only a bit less, in the same town and it had broken furniture and poor room design. Not a thrilling stay. Glad we chose BW this time.
One night stay during our road trip from California to Illinois. This BW was easy to find right off the freeway. They were very accommodating, we were traveling with 2 dogs and a baby. Clean, quiet, comfortable.
The hotel was clean and well-maintained. Staff was exceptionally friendly, especially the Front Desk, who were consistently helpful over a 7-night stay in Wendover - they received several packages for me. Housekeeping was on it, perhaps a little too much so. They were knocking on the door before 8am on the day I tried to sleep in. But they did a great job and were very friendly and professional, just don't forget to use your Do Not Disturb tag. Breakfast was, well, a free hotel breakfast. On par with a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Although I did enjoy the breakfast burritos (have never seen those at a free breakfast before). Guest Laundry is available which was GREAT. $5 at the front desk got me detergent and enough quarters for a wash and a dry. I highly recommend this property.
I have stayed here on three separate occasions. Each for business travel. I don't gamble or smoke, so the casinos are not for me. What I look for is clean facility, friendly staff, good wifi, quiet. This Best Western hits all the right targets.
Very clean property with indoor pool and hot tub. Pet Friendly with loads of grass for Fido. $10.00 per night pet fee. Free full breakfast made for a good value, will stay here again! This is one of the few pet friendly places in Wendover and they are very helpful.
I did not think the price of the room matched the quality of the hotel. It was old and looked old. The appliances in the room were not good quality. The refrigerator only had 3 legs. I was afraid to even open anything because I was afraid it might break. The breakfast should be better.
I use this hotel monthly for business in Wendover. They treat me like family. I always enjoy my stay. It is clean and affordable. It is a nice alternative to staying in a smokey casino. The breakfast is also good.
Went to the Bonneville Bike Week. Intended to go camping but the weather was not in our favour. We called by and found a room available with a 10% reduction for AAA. Fantastic breakfast only added to the value and the non smoking room was better than we hoped for. So clean, the housekeeping staff are doing a great job.
We stayed here for a few days over the Bonneville Speed Week racing, we found the rooms to be spacious and clean, good TV, ample parking set up and very friendly staff. We didn't use any of the facilities such as the pool and such but they seemed to be popular with the other guests.
freeway convenient and right on .route to several casinos. the room was clean and quiet and no problem getting to second floor. breakfast good. I would say good value for money. No traffic noise.easy aess to parking place when we left.
A monster family up above our room. We were in Room 128. Running, jumping, falling, boom, boom until past midnight. Old pipes. They must have used the toilet and bath 20 times in 2 hours. The pipes must be old. The sound in our bathroom when they used their bathroom was very loud, hard to believe. This went on for hours. I tried to complain to front desk, but the phone in our room had a sound issue and they could not hear me and I could not hear them. Bright and early this morning at 7am, the noise started up again with an added noise. It sounded like an earth size vacuum cleaner and then the boom, boom, thump. There appeared to be multiple people in the room, maybe a family camping out. Who knows. The front desk never did anything about it. Never will I recommend this hotel. I think they must have lost their AAA rating. I intend to find out. The mattress on my bed was less than good and the bathroom for a Best Western Plus was horrible, little postage size bath and toilet. Not a great room for the price. I will report on Quality Inn in Hays, Kansas and the Holiday Inn Express in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Super nice.
Hotel is very close to the border of Nevada & Utah - Location not so great as there is not much there apart from 2 Casinos. Room (#311) was Spacious Clean with Comfy Bed & Good Shower & Fridge & M'Wave. Hotel was Very Clean & nicely presented. Easy Check In & Out. Nice staff. Parking, Wifi & Breakfast were Free. Guest Laundry was a bonus. We paid US$ 99.00. No complaints.
Spent a night here. Very clean hotel. Clean room. Clean carpet. Clean bathroom. Great location off the interstate. Quiet room. Friendly, efficient staff. Ample parking. Located near many restaurants, gas stations and casinos. Would not hesitate to stay here again.m
This is an average to slightly below average Best Western Plus. I have stayed here when I am traveling with my dog since they have pet-friendly rooms and a small yard to walk them. The price is decent for the quality of the room and hotel. You can get better prices at the casinos but this is nice alternative. Parking is a bit tight if they are full.
On previous trips thru Nevada/Utah, we've stayed at one of the casinos. This time we decided to try something new and were pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean, and quiet and served as a great place to stop for the night.
The hotel looked very nice but the room was a bit disappointing. It was dog friendly hotel and I asked if there were separate rooms for dogs. Yes they have. Nevertheless I was having quite bad allergic reaction. Also the chair and the table in the room were broken. Friendly staff at the reception. Tasty breakfast. Nice pool area.
We stayed here for overnight stay on 5/12/18. No microwave provided Bad coffee no power points in the room coffee maker is palced in the wash basin - not possible to keep elsewhere, as there is no adequate power points provided Poor pillows, not comfortable for sleeping decent BF When we asked the front desk about microwave, despite promise to provide at the time of booking, they fumble...
During our cross-country trip, we spent a night at this hotel. I selected this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. It met our expectations. Good size clean room. Good location. Breakfast was sufficient as well.
There aren't a lot of choices in Wendover if you don't want to stay at one of the casinos. This Best Western Plus seemed newly renovated, the room was very very clean, bed was comfortable, and there is not a lot of highway noise at all. It is on the far end of Wendover away from most of the nonsense, which is a plus as a solo female traveler. The breakfast was a free hotel breakfast, I don't know what people expect. Staff were friendly and professional.
Have been using this hotel for the last 3 years and always a great place. Traveling from Detroit Michigan to the Oregon Coast this is always our place to stay. Great place rooms are clean beds are great.
Hotel was nice. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Carpet served new. Left before breakfast. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Would stay there again. Easy access to the freeway, close to gas and places to eat
Traveling from California to Kansas City, this was our first overnight. Hotel seemed clean, despite the fact that clients would track in a lot of salt on the carpet. We had room 318 with two queen beds. The mini fridge was good and cold and refroze our water bottles well. Beds and pillows were good. A lighter blanket would have been good. Fortunately we had packed our own, which I broke down and pulled out in the middle of the night. The toilet was plugged and overflowing and we had to wait 10 minutes for the front desk man to make it up to the room. We used a towel to protect the wall from the water. He finished wiping up the water with the towel, but didn't send up a replacement or send anyone to mop the bathroom floor. We just put down another towel and walked on it. The next time we went to the lobby we got extra towels. I was excited to see shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispensers on the shower wall. Unfortunately, the shampoo level was very low and it kept falling off the wall. The conditioner was plugged and wouldn't come out. The room seemed clean. The TV worked fine. We didn't notice any noises from adjoining rooms. The a/c seemed to work just fine, but when it cycled off the room would feel humid and warm quickly. The lamp on the desk was tilted and wobbly. The pool area was clean and we used the hot tub which was nice. The elevator may need some attention as it jerks to a sudden stop. Overall, it seemed nice, but the little things not being right lead me to believe that it will not stay nice for long. It's too bad.
Was definitely not impressed with anything in this hotel. Sink was dirty, towels were cheap & felt like they were washed with bleach & never rinsed. No staff around during "breakfast". Eggs gritty, no butter, so much mess by the waffle machine, you did not want to stand in front of it never mind making anything. Even the garbage was on the other side of the isle, closer to the elevators! Think the hotel needs management.
I called the office and made reservations for June 2. When I went to check in, they told me that my reservations were for June 1 and my account has been charged for no show. The next morning I talked to the manager and she told me that I made the mistake and she never makes mistakes. She refused to reimburse me the charges they made. There is no way I mixed up the dates. My nephew had a baptizing on the 2nd and I called the main desk to make sure I had a room for the 2nd. The manager was extremely rude.
We were just driving through the area on Interstate 80 and needed a place to stay for the night. I used Trip Advisor for a recommendation and this place was #1 of the non-Casino hotels. The staff was courteous and helpful. We asked for a quiet room and got one. Despite being pretty busy with a full parking lot, everything was just great for us.
Traveling from Tacoma, WA to Denver, CO for grand daughters college graduation. We decided to stay the night in Wendover and Best Wester Plus is our preffered hotel. Check in was wuick and easy. The room was wonderful. The beds were great. Did not disappoint. Nice quiet hotel and a good nights sleep. Full strength signal on the wireless and nice clear TV picture. Friendly staff and a delicious full breakfast in the morning. Great stay.
The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a reasonable size. Free WiFi was included. The aircon was old so it was very noisey. Our pet hate, shower curtain overcthe bath. Tea and coffee supplies very average, and why hotels supply creamer powder instead of real milk is beyond me. There was plenty of parking. The provided breakfast was your average fair.
My stay at the Best Western was great! Check-in was super quick and easy! The rooms were nice, clean and halls were quiet! My friends and I enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Topped off our morning with a full on breakfast! It was great!
I have stayed in best western plus on my way to California and the hotel is 100% non smoking which was nice for me and the room was neat and clean. was well decorated they had full hot breakfast in the morning. with cheese omelet, bacon, burritos and lots of other choices.
This is a very clean and well managed hotel located about one block from the Nevada border. You can walk to the Nevada casinos and entertainment options from this hotel in Wendover, UT. Visit the historic Wendover Airfield Museum located about one half mile from the hotel. Interesting WWII exhibits from that time.
Did not want to stay in a casino, s we chose the BW, Pricey at $130. No water pressure, Ran out of hot water during shower. Tried to watch the NBA final in the room, Mistake. TV is not digital, forget HD. haven't seen snow on at TV since the 80's
On our cross-country road trip, we decided to stay here for two nights so we could spend a day at the Wendover bomber training museum (which was very good for a history buff). Nice room with a 'fridge (no microwave), clean and well equipped. On the third floor, it is quiet.
We chose this due to the aspect of being able to bring pets, which is a rare bonus. Considering this, as well as the price, I was surprised at how large and well decorated the room was. The hotel in general was very clean and well organised. Highly recommended.
Over all it was a good experience for the price. Beds could be better. I felt the springs on my side the entire night. Staff was nice. Breakfast was kind of okay. The pool area was nothing special and was being worked on which we did not know of.
The BW appeared to be clean and fairly new upon check-in which was nice. It was also nice that they allow dogs for a minimal fee; as many places charge double the price of the room for a furry traveler. The positives end there. We needed a bed for the night, that was really our only expectation. Upon checking in we were told that we booked a room that is not dog friendly, even though they knew we had a dog. So that was a bit frustrating because instead of a king bed we ended up with two queens. Again, that was not a huge deal, but it would be nice if the website caught those kind of discrepancies during reservation process. The real issue was the beds themselves. My husband and I both tossed and turned all night and woke up in pain. The mattresses are some of the worst we have ever encountered. And, we travel a lot. At one point I saw my dog sleeping soundly on her orthopedic bed inside her kennel, and contemplated curling up with her.
We traveled to Wendover for SCUBA verification at a nearby lake. We found the Best Western to be clean and quiet and a adequate for our needs. It was what I have come to expect at Best Western Hotels. Nothing fancy, bare bones service, low price. It's in the Utah section of Wendover so probably quieter than the Casinos across the State line in Nevada. I'd stay there again.
This is a good stopping point between west coast and Colorado. Traveling with our cat and He loved the quiet room and the easy cat carrier ride to the room. This is our first choice for a stop when we cross Nevada, good value for the $$$'s.
This is a nice place in middle of nowhere. Very helpful and professional staff. The rooms are nice and clean, good breakfast to get you going on the road. Not expensive. We would stay here again. Staff is always happy to help with a smile.
great location, comfortable beds and large rooms. good WiFi. very good dog area so if you are traveling with a dog you will want to be at that end of the building. pool and hot tub were nice...the air temperature in the pool area was chilly. the breakfast was very good. when I can back on my return trip...i stayed again.
We pass through once a year for business and this is always our choice for the evening. Once again, we came in late after a long hard drive from Denver through tough weather and we're always tired and grumpy and the staff was once again, very patient, friendly and welcoming. There was a middle eastern young man at the desk who was great and I apologize for not asking his name. Always a clean, warm room and I'm just sorry we're only around for one night a year. We'll be back!
I made a quick pitstop at the hotel a few days ago. Needed to send an emergency fax and the front desk evening person could not have been more helpful. Really took extra special attention to help get my fax sent. Extra effort was great. Rare to find someone of this caliber in a hotel setting. Thank you so much for the help. Room clean, breakfast nice. Hope to make a longer stay soon.
About $80+tax. Staff at check-in was great. Room was adequate, beds and pillows ok. Included a fridge, microwave, and internet. The toilet seat was broken and the when we tried to call the front desk we discovered the phone wasn't working. The desk in the room was very wobbly. Repair people and noise when checking in but quieted down in the evening.
When traveling from Denver to Sacramento this is our preferred stop as it is a pet friendly establishment and we know we will get a good nights sleep. The location is convienent to the hwy 80. We look forward to our next trip and using Best Westen.
The Best Western Plus on the Utah side of Wendover, NV is a clean comfortable and quiet place to stay. The price is comparable to staying at a casino hotel, yet it is non smoking. The free breakfast had good coffee and delicious fare. We never go wrong staying at a Best Western.
The place was clean and seems to have been renovated recently. Looks nice but some little plumbing issues and the quality of the renovation seemed to not be of the highest quality. This is a one night road trip travel spot and that being said it was safe, clean and comfortable and that is good.
Very clean, quiet, comfortable and modern. We requested a king/pet friendly on the first floor. We were delighted to be located near the rear entrance and the pup rest area. Hearty breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. All Best Westerns should strive to meet their standards... they are by far a flagship destination.
Best Western Wendover, UT was clean, parking lot well lit, lobby clean, breakfast fine. It appeared to either be new or recently refurbished. Liked that they had laundry room available. Staff was courteous and friendly.
Got in at 2am and the guy that checked us in was pleasant and very fast and efficient. Older hotel, but has been updated and is very clean. Didn't eat breakfast so I have no review on that. Bed was too firm for me...My husband thought it was fine. pillows were the small ones all the places have now, but there were 4 on the bed so that was ok. Would stay here again if in the area.
The hotel was clean and quiet. Pet friendly. The breakfast was great. It has laundry facilities and a fitness room. The pool and hot tub were great. I talked to other guests and they only stay there. It will be our go to place.
Loved this hotel there are no hidden fees for your pets which I totally loved. They are very accommodating for you and your pets which was really nice. Free wifi which was another plus and free breakfast which was nice.
Nice hotel, very clean rooms and friendly people. i was surprised to find this clean place in such a small town. very good location by i80. i would recommend this to people and will stay here again passing this way in future.
Being a Vet this weekend was very important to me. This trip was unplanned but I was happy to find the Wendover BW had s room available. The Staff was very helpful and services good less the fitness center, the equipment was not working.
make sure the hot tub is hot before booking, also expect desil trucks next to you window all night. the staff was fine, and the room was clean, but the food was not very good. i have stayed in many best western plus hotels, and this one was not as nice as the others.
The beds were amazing and the staff was very professional. Great breakfast, eggs, bacon, burritos and all. The place was clean and comfortable. we were surprised to find this beautiful place in the small town of Wendover UT.
Very clean room, older linens. Bed was firm, pillows a little flat. Would definitely recommend that the hotel get some new linens shortly; the towels and bedding were a little worn and or tattered, clean but definitely past their prime.
To me this was a much nicer place to stay than one of the casinos. A little smaller and more of a personal touch. I was delighted with my stay and found the breakfast selection fantastic. The breakfast included omelets, bacon, yogurt, waffles and more. That worked great. The room was large, nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed and very clean. After reading the reviews on some of the others in the area this was a good choice. The only drawback is the small parking lot was packed. I would definitely stay again.
Overall, the hotel is lovely. Rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast spread was very good. While I received excellent service at check-in, the desk clerk upon my departure did not bother to acknowledge me as I exited (it was a BW Rewards stay, so no checkout necessary). My biggest complaint is the hotel does not have coffee available around the clock. As an early riser, I look forward to my first few cups of coffee each day, and not the nasty stuff from the in-room coffee maker.
1st time we stayed here and we are very glad we did. The staff was friendly and so accommodating. The whole property was very well maintained and clean. We had some friends stop by and visited in the lobby area that is set up with couches and very homey feeling. The room was large and very clean. The beds were very comfy and we got a wonderful nights sleep. Just a few minutes drive to the Nevada casino's so did not feel like we missed out on anything not staying at one of them. We will stay here again when traveling through.
One of the nicest, cleanest, most well decorated hotel chain properties we've stayed at! Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. We are not interested in Casinos so we looked at options. This property is by far the best choice. You will not be disappointed!
We had a nice, if brief, stay at the BW Wendover Inn in Wendover, UT on our way to California. We hadn't stayed at this BW before and were fortunate it had room, as there was a hazardous materials spill on the Interstate between Wendover and Elko, NV and I-80 was closed in both directions for over a day. The motel internet/Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Breakfast featured hot and cold offerings in abundance, with fresh fruit too. Reception desk and lounge area was comfortable, rooms were clean and well appointed, beds made sleeping easy after a long day on the road.
This motel is OK, but not up to the normal standard of a Best Western Plus. Staff were friendly and helpful, but breakfast, amenities and overall facility were only average. Seemed a bit high priced for what was presented.
We had been booked into the hotel for 5 nights by our travel agents in the UK for the world of speed week at Bonneville Salt Flats. On our return to our room after our first day no Housekeeping had not been carried out , had to go to the front desk to bring it to there attention and for coffee replacement including cups ,only to be told the same as jean03347GX that had we left the do not disturb sign on the door ,clearly that was not the case ,as we were up early and off to the salt flats . There are Ice machines in the corridor and the room has a ice bucket and plastic glasses but no bottle opener went to the front desk to be told they don't have any (no point in the ice machine ,bucket or glasses ) on the 5th day we checked out at the front desk we had it confirmed our account was clear has it had all been pre-paid , on our return back home to the UK a charge of $140 had been charged to my credit card tried several times to contact the hotel but they couldn't explain why other than it was a charge applied by the manager and he wasn't there ,eventually it was re credited but because of the difference in exchange rate USD to GBP I am know left out of pocket that is not including the time and effort it has taken .The manager of the Hotel still hasn't bothered to reply to my last email from 3 weeks ago. Bear in mind that there is nothing that can be charged to your account ,as there is no Bar , Restaurant or pay to view movies , the Wi-Fi and car parking are free and breakfast complimentary . I would suggest you use one of the many other hotels in Wendover to avoid any charges applied to your account after you have left
The sheets seemed to have been washed and bleached, however the top comforter and the foot strip on the bed was stained and dirty. I just stripped it off and tossed it away. There is no microwaves in the rooms. So, if you are staying a few nights, plan on not having anything in your room. The breakfast; stale! The pastries are the tiny box frozen type that are old and cold. The selection is dim and the fruit is bruised and old as well. Bottom line, you are going to eat out, and I guess in even Wendover, they try to force people into the casinos to eat. If you are simply stopping in as you pass by, it will serve fine. The parking lot is not accommodating for trailers, or larger vehicles. One way in and out. You could get blocked in.
This is a clean and well-updated hotel. Nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. Decent breakfast in a somewhat small room (there were two high school teams there and I almost couldn't find a seat). I'd choose to stay here again.
This was an inexpensive and very nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a dog with us and it was one of the few places (which is strange in a place like Wendover, where most people are traveling through it on their way to somewhere else) that was pet friendly. Nice grass area for the dogs. Would definitely recommend it.
This is probably one of the best run, cleanest, Best Westerns we been to. Good service, quiet rooms, Nicely updated. Usual breakfast, restaurants nearby. 15 minutes to the Salt Flats. Would definitely stay again!
This is the one my wife approved for our cross-country trip from Colorado to California. We have stayed at most of the hotels along the Wendover strip over the past 6 years. Excellent King bed. Soft linens. Cons: Not RV or Trailer friendly parking (we pull a lot of loads cross-country). Arrive early for good parking.
We stayed here twice in sept. If you forgot anything they will have it. Toothbrush etc. Staff was helpful and very courteous. We needed a room that allowed our dog. Rooms clean and maintained. Many choices in the complimentary breakfast. Tea and coffee in room. Workout room. Ironing board and hairdryer, bath gel, shampoo, rinse and lotion in dispensers in bath. We will stay here again.
Overall this is a very pleasant and clean Best Western & I'd stay here again. Check in clerk was very professional and courteous. I'd give this an excellent rating but for the urine smell in the bathroom of our room. Since we'd been traveling for days, we were exhausted and didn't pay close attention to it initially. Since we left early without a front desk checkout, it wasn't till hours later we called to mention it. The front desk clerk very politely & courteously asked us to call back the next day when the manager was on duty. IMO, the clerk should've taken our name & # to have the manager call us back.
Only stayed 1 night, just passing through on our way to Park City. This Best Western was clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was fast and easy. My only complaint would be the breakfast it was lacking in selection.
Stayed here as the location seemed convenient for a long coast-to-coast journey. Booked it as on the Utah side and away from the bright lights and casinos of the Nevada side. Has large indoor pool, fridge (no freezer), free wifi, large rooms, and when we arrived was very clean with lots of parking. Internal corridors are also featured. However, the hotel appears to have been built without any sort of soundproofing. Our neighbours arrived back after a night in the casinos in the middle of the night, and we found out every detail including the sort of burgers that they had through the paper thin walls. Opening and closing of neighbouring doors also caused the walls to shake, and the closure mechanism slams them shut. A large gap under the door to the corridor also means that noisy conversations in the corridors can be heard as if they are in the room, and housekeeping knocking on doors also wakes you up as does toilet flushing and pipework noises from surrounding rooms. I stay in a lot of hotels, and am not really a light sleeper but this seems to be the worst that I've experienced in a long time.
Moving from California to Colorado with a cat howling all 16 hours. This Best Western in Wendover is on the Utah side - no smoking, no gambling or restaurant in motel. Motel was quiet, clean with modern updates. Best of all they allowed pets for a reasonable fee. The free breakfast with strong coffee was a nice touch to start the next day. Tip - book direct at Best Western for the best rates.
We were on a road trip & returning from Chamberlain, S.D. when we stopped her for the night. This is very close to the Bonniville salt flats. As with all best westers we have stayed at the facilities and staff were excellent. We would stay here again when we are in the area.
Whenever I race at the salt flats we always stay at the Best Western on the Utah side of Wendover. The price is a little higher then some places, but the breakfast buffet is to die for. They would not give me a Military Discount, but took my grumpy old fart of a friend's AAA card.
Room was not cleaned Nor towels or bed made.after my first night stay nor was any help available. Next day (Sun) no real help was available either.. They tried to get out of responsibility by saying I had put the do not disturb sign on the door. It was on the inside when I opened the door.
Was greeted with a smile at front desk and had easy check-in. Everything looked sparkling clean. Rooms were large with the exception of toilet and bath tub which was cramped. Credenza door where fridge sits would not stay closed which was a bummer but other than that, we couldn't complain. Lighting was good, beds comfy and plenty of hot water. Casino's just up the street about 3 - 4 blks away.
On the way to Redwoods, found this very nice Inn in Wendover, UT. Had a room, very reasonable and clean. A very nice place. A very nice free breakfast. This place is in Utah out of the gambling sector.
First of all, I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family without hesitation. I would stay there again. The hotel seemed to be well maintained and the rooms were very nice. Trust me, I am a critical reviewer and if you stay there you won't be disappointed.
Stayed here last night on our trip west. From other reviews I gathered it was about the best option. Pros: relatively clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly. Cons: food options at breakfast ok but the only egg option had some nasty cheese stuff, and there was little fresh fruit. Eating area was too small and everyone seemed to arrive at the same time. The really bad thing was the elevator. When it stopped it jerked so bad I about had heart failure! A gal waiting for it said it had done that every time she'd been on it. I took the stairs after that. When I mentioned it at checkout the clerk said they'd called for a repair but that would take awhile. I didn't think we'd want to stay in a casino for one night...however, except for no free breakfast, a nice new casino down the street cost the same price! Wish I'd have checked it out.
We reserved a suite that was excellent. In the bedroom was a Jacuzzi and a king size bed. In the front room was a sink, microwave, and fridge. TV's in both rooms. They served a continental breakfast in the A.M. that was one of the best we have had in our travels. I would recommend this hotel.
Stayed 2 nights here, very clean nice room and they allow pets so we were able to bring our two small dogs. They have a large grassy area in the back for pets which was way more than most hotels. The breakfast room was packed with people & they didn't have much left so we didn't eat there.
We chose this hotel for it's proximity to I-80 and were not disappointed. The room was clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The wifi worked well in our room. The breakfast room was also clean when we arrived and had all the typical breakfast foods. The hotel staff we encountered were all very friendly. Happy to see the hotel used bulk soap/shampoo dispensers instead of the mini bottles which result in a lot of plastic waste. Although the hotel is close to I-80, we fortunately did not hear any noise from the road. The only negative was that the hotel cleaning staff knocked on the door twice before 9:30am checking to see if we were out of the room. Being a hotel along I-80 I suspect many guests leave early, but we had arrived very late the night before and were disappointed by this. Admittedly I did not put out a do not disturb sign, but didn't really think it was going to be necessary.
My wife and I stayed at the BW in Wendover UT on the 9/2/17. My wife, Claudia, called the hotel and asked if they have a discount for AAA or AARP and she was told no. So my wife called the 800 number and made the reservation and was told we would receive a AAA discount which we did. We were lied to for a lousy 10 bucks. I don't remember the name of the guy at the desk, we arrived at 8pm that night. We have been staying at BW hotels for years and now it's doubtful we will return, over a lousy 10 bucks.
amazing place, friendly staff. The room was nice and clean. Lobby and all other public area were clean and fresh. very welcoming front desk. Breakfast was good with lot of options to try. We would consider staying here only as we prefer non smoking room and this hotel was perfect choice.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Best Western Plus Wendover Inn. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Great hotel. Delicious breakfast. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Thank you for a very relaxing stay.
Very clean and good price , front desk help was great and always had a smile . Breakfast was good many things to pick from but I wish they had sugar free syrup but other than that everything was great . I would stay there again
This is the second time i was at this Best Western. Both times were great. The staff is great...rooms clean... and the extra bonus is the breakfast which is included in the price. It was exceptional....not the typical toast and yogurt. I will be back to this property and certainly will stay at this Best Western Hotel!
the beds are comfy and the hotel rooms are quiet, friendly staff and adequate breakfast. Everything was clean and the pillows were nice and soft. An overall good stay after A long day, I would definitely recommend!
Adequate at best. For $130 per night, thought it might be nicer. Noisy, loud air conditioner, breakfast meh. Clean, friendly staff. Most likely, would choose another place next time passing through. Not anything else to say.
We travel to California once a year and Wendover is the half way spot. We have a dog. You can only stay on the Utah side, as most of the motel chains take dogs. The Nevada side is all casinos. None take dogs. We have stayed in several of the chains on the Utah side. Nothing compares to the quality of the Best Western. The reviewers who complain about this Best Western should spend a night at one of the other well known brand name chains in Wendover. I guarantee you they would change their impression of this Best Western. If you want to avoid a smoke-filled casino, or have a dog, spend the extra $25 and book a stay here. Rooms are spacious, clean, grass area for the dog, breakfast adequate. And, you don't have to worry about your personal safety by the characters hanging around the premises.
Great service from staff. They care. Rooms are very clean. Reasonable rates. Location is easy to find. This is a good place to stay for people with little children. There are plenty of parking , it is easily accessible. We had a restful night, It was quiet.
Nice and quiet room. Breakfast was adequate (absolutely no where decent to eat in the city of Wendover, so this was a bonus). Bed was very comfortable and the location was perfect. Definitely the best place in Wendover to stay.
Exorbitant price for poor location, meidocre building, bleak area Our room was located across from a room with a large dog, and near two cryonf babies. The phone message light was blinking but desk saqid to disregard. Breakfast area was messy and out of eggs, bananas, and only hd one bakery product. Cost of room was exorbitant at $134.
The room was quiet, TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, NO microwave. Great water pressure in the shower, good lighting above the sink for makeup. Good cooling system. Breakfast buffet was very minimal and very BAD! A bit of a walk to Montero Bay, but do-able.
I chose this hotel to stay overnight vs drive back to Park City Utah after a concert at Peppermill. The casinos are smoky and dated..However The concerts that come to Wendover are worth the 2 hr drive...Ive paid a personal driver to stay before and return to Utah after shows in past.. This tiime, I decided to stay as a driver $$costs are more than a room but I wasnt willing to stay in a smoky yuk room.. I found the Best Western Plus had great reviews and decide to try it..Upon check in I heard them turn down bookings bc hotel was FULL After concert & dancing at another casino, It was a tranquil " Golden nugget" to return to a smole free quiet hotel & manager Bina ask how was concert & remembered Who you were and You didnt lose $$gambling! thats all that knows your name people in casino hotels! I will stay HERE everytime. Oh and they have a fridge for your almond milk if You have dietary restrictions like myself. ;-) Love the location. Can walk to casino if u need...want..have to.
My family stayed here overnight on our way to visit friends, in rooms 222 and 224. If you're not going to get a room in one of the Nevada-side casinos (I try to avoid them), this is probably the best hotel in Wendover. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with the usual amenities. Bathroom was very clean, and water temperature and pressure were good. I slept very well, and enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was what you normally get in a hotel (eggs, waffles, milk, cereal, etc.) and everything we had was good. While the hotel is very nice, keep in mind that it's located in Wendover, on the Utah side. If you're not going to go to one of the Nevada-side casinos, there's really not a lot to do here. So I wouldn't recommend coming here and hoping to find something to do to keep the kids entertained.
My first impression of the property when I arrived was of a lot of hot concrete. It was a delightful surprise that the Wendover Best Western turned out to be, by contrast, an oasis of comfort and hospitality. I was traveling with a dog, and the area set aside for pets to relieve themselves and get a bit of exercise was an inviting SHADY plot of grass outside a side entrance that included a dispenser of pick-up bags for pet waste and a designated bin for disposing of it. It was a very thoughtfully designed space, with attention given to pet owners' convenience as well as to meeting the needs of the pets themselves. My room was unremarkable but clean and comfortable with a good bed, good air conditioning, and easy-to-operate remote control: What more is required? Breakfast was adequate (okay, the biscuits weren't warm but the coffee was good!). However, the graciousness and generosity of the staff made an overnight stop at a hotel to break up an exhausting road trip feel like a stay at a B&B with a welcoming host.
We are traveling cross country and wendover was our first stop. Best western is always a guaranteed good hotel. We weren't disappointed. From check in to check out everyting was satisfactory. Quiet area. Excellent staff. Rooms comfortable.
If you are loyal to the Best Western brand, then this hotel is your only choice for many miles. My experience was mostly positive: a prompt check-in, a clean room in which I had no major service issues, and a fast check-out. I chose a rating of "3" for the following reasons: 1. Front Desk staff was not too welcoming. It was more like "sign on the dotted line, and here are your keys." 2. The hotel seemed quite budget-conscious. There was a hole in the bathroom door that was poorly patched. And the shower/tub water control handle was loose. 3. Breakfast began without any meat items. As I was leaving, the breakfast manager delivered a chafing dish with a small amount of bacon. 4. The coffee dispenser was empty and was not refilled while I was at breakfast. It was not a bad stay by any means. But neither was it a stay that deserves accolades, either.
The hotel was nice but a little hard to find. The GPS would only take the address being in Nevada, but it is actually in Utah. When we arrived at the Nevada address, nothing there. The people were friendly. It appeared to be mostly a casino town. If we were in that area, we would stay there again.
We usually try to find Best Western hotels, good quality for a good price. This hotel was very clean and quiet, just what we needed after a long drive. My only complaint was the lower channels on the T.V. were fuzzy.
We stayed at this property last night. As soon as we got into the room (222), we went to turn the ac on as it was a hot summer day. The ac unit would only blow warm or hot air. We immediately called the front desk and they stated that there was nothing they can do. The property was sold out so we couldn't be moved to another room. I asked if someone could try to fix the unit and I was told "no"...not until the following day. So...we had to sleep with the window open all night. Wendover has trains that blow their loud horns at 2:30 am, 4:00am, 5:30 am, etc..plus dogs were barking outside our window at 6:15 am. At breakfast they were out of coffee and orange juice...I expect MUCH BETTER from a Best Western property!!! Most of my many reviews on TripAdvisor are either 4 or 5 stars. This experience was simply unacceptable with terrible customer service. The property itself was nice and that is the ONLY reason that I gave this review 2 stars....
Wonderful experience for us and our two Blue Heelers...we will now plan to stay here on all our future trips to California!! The indoor pool will be nice for when our granddaughter comes with us. Thanks again
We were passing through the area. There wasn't much to do and not many places open to eat but the hotel itself was nice. I would recommend this hotel, however the ice.maxhine was broken on the third.floor and we had to go to the first floor to get some. It was a minor inconvience.
Good stay. The streets were under repair but that was not the hotel's fault. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very good, I slept well and was well rested and able to continue my vacation safely.
This was a nice place to stay after a long day on the road. We needed a wheelchair accessible room and this was the first of many great rooms over a long trip. The hotel staff was concerned about our late arrival and called to make sure we were still going to make it. The breakfast buffet was very good with a nice selection. We would definitely stay here again.
I spent a total of five days and four nights at this hotel. The price was reasonable, and after reviewing the ratings of other properties in the area, I decided that this was the best one for the price. The decor is mostly contemporary and updated, except for the carpets in the hallways and stairs. The bed and linens are VERY comfortable, and the staff is amazingly friendly and efficient. The entire hotel is smoke-free, which was wonderful to me. The breakfast always had cheese omelettes, meat, muffins, breads, waffles that you make yourself, cereals, yogurts, fruit, and juices, milk, and coffee. And, there is a refrigerator in your room in case you'd prefer to run to Smith's to keep some food in your room and sleep in. Furry family is allowed for a surcharge. The grounds are well-maintained (great for photos). And, like other Best Westerns, their accommodations for the disabled are wonderful. Every BW I've stayed at has a pool-side lift for disabled guests to be able to enjoy the swimming pool. Kudos to you for inclusion, BW!!! If there were any negatives, they would be the following: Unless you're Andre the Giant, don't plan on enjoying the shower too much. The shower head is way too high for the average person, which wouldn't be as much of a problem if it were detachable. I'm glad that they're using environmentally-friendlier dispensers rather than the small toiletries hotels typically use; however, the dispensers kept falling off the wall in the shower, and the conditioner dispenser didn't really work at all. I had to take it completely out of the holder to get any conditioner out. The elevator was the scariest part of the whole experience. I generally try to take the stairs, but at the end of a long day, sometimes we all need a boost. They really need to check this as it jumped and jolted every time it stopped or started. The view on the west side of the hotel is of a junk yard, but you can't really help who your neighbors are, can you? Other than those few minor inconveniences, this was a great stay! Thanks BW, Wendover!!!
Pool was empty, being filled w garden hose no mention of this to tired, hot bike riders. We sat discussing the next days ride ( only 5 riders, not a big group) in the breakfast area. Lots of dirty looks from front desk. We weren't loud at all. Ck the dispensers before you get in the shower, as all our party's were empty. Heard multiple complaints at the front desk from others about the same issue.
A comfortable place to stay and I was pleased the hotel could accommodate my upstairs room request. While the room was nice, the view was less than desirable. I kept the curtains drawn to avoid looking out at the junk yard next door. The view on the other side of the hotel was not much of an improvement. Still the bed was comfortable, hotel clean, and staff friendly and helpful. I had no other concerns. Typical hotel noise from AC units.
Next door to screened junk yard visible from upper floors, but very comfortable bed and reasonably quite for facility with families and pets. Wendover is a nicer than most dessert town and serves as a midpoint stop from Sacramento to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone.
We chose this hotel bc they accept pets. The walls are thin and we could here dogs barking and people above us jumping. The fitness room is small. They do have a nice indoor pool. The breakfast area was average.
The staff wasn't friendly. The room was just o.k. But the bedding was falling apart. The feathered comforter had feathers poking out all over it. The view out our window was a junk yard next door. We've stayed in Best Westerns before this one and after this one. This was by far the worse. We booked months in advance. So it wasn't like they gave us a last minute room to stay the night. The air conditioner was so noisy we couldn't sleep well.
This is a good hotel to stay in. Everything was clean and up to date. There didn't seem to be many restaurant choices except for casinos, but we went to a close-by local Mexican restaurant, family run, that had authentic food.
This is a terrific hotel! We called to say we were going to be late due to traffic and we were met with excellent service for our check-in. The room was spacious, clean and neat. Breakfast in the morning was fully stocked and delicious!
We were traveling to California and booked a night here to rest. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. This hotel also allows pets. They have a nice grassy area for you to take them on which was nice. We booked a room with 2 queen beds (4 people staying in the room) and the room only had 2 towels but it was easy enough to ask for more. My only complaint was, when we checked in the gentleman at the front desk was a little preoccupied with his cell phone call...kind of unprofessional.
If you are staying in Wendover and don't want the casino crowds, smoke, and atmosphere, then this is a good choice. Overall the property is in pretty good shape though if you are on the first floor it can be a bit noisy for outside and overhead thumps, etc. I could stay here again as long as I was on the top floor and away from the parking lot.
Great room, very clean. Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast with lots of choices. Pool and hot tub very relaxing!! Great value for the money. Close to casinos, just over the state line about 5 blocks.
great hotel would definatley stay there again. The room was clean and tidey the staff went out of there way to make us comfortable. the room was quite large and the beds were great. the breakfast was very good with lots of items to choose fromj. overall wonderful
If you want a good nights rest in Wendover, UT/NV you can't go wrong staying at the Best Western. It is Cleaner, cheaper and has better service than staying at any of the Casino Hotels in Wendover, NV
We liked the service and the room. The young man that morning was very personable and friendly. The Tv should of had more channels. The lighting in the shower area was very dull. Not a big deal.I felt the room was very clean as I am a germafobe.I use my own disinfectant.
Quiet, comfortable hotel on the Utah side of the border. Short walk to the casinos and restaurants. WiFi-reasonable speed. Lighting and outlets OK. Breakfast quality OK. Overall what you'd expect from a Best Western.
This hotel is very nice and clean. Being a Best Western it lives up to what you would expect if you have stayed at other Best Western Hotels. Clean and nice. A decent breakfast with several options. The hotel is a little off the beaten path and away from the casinos and such. There is a decent Mexican/American restaurant right across the street.
If you want to stay at a decent place away from the casinos in West Wendover, this is a great choice. Pleasant staff, well appointed room, comfortable bed. Wifi service was passable but slow. Breakfast offered a fair assortment and good quality.
I guess you get what you pay for. Generally, our experience was OK, but there are some VERY SIMPLE things the hotel can do to improve their guests' experience: 1) Provide "poop bags" at the grassy area where pets relieve themselves. It's right near the rear door and was FILLED with poop. 2) Make sure the dispensers in the shower are properly filled with soap & shampoo. 3) Fix the breakfast food. Awful!! 4) Allow guests to use their room air-conditioners in the morning.
Friendly staff, quiet location just east of the hotels that straddle the NV/UT border. Not as inexpensive as the casinos will be, but if you want to avoid the casino environment, this is a perfect choice. Pro's: -Location is far enough from Hwy 80 to still be quiet, but still within 1 minute of on-ramps. -Staff was friendly & accommodating -AC had Climate controlled constant fan for white noise effect (if you choose it). -Charging outlets on the nightstand -Parking lot only had 1 way in and out, so it was more secure than most. Cons: -Curtains did a poor job of blocking out the sun in the morning, so for a person who checks in late & needs 6-8hrs, try to get a room on the West side, because the sun was pretty bright by 7am. -Free breakfast was pretty average, but still appreciated. I always prefer a basic scrambled egg option instead of (or in addition to) being prepared in a way that some people can't have them (i.e. folded cheese omelet). Free WiFi was fine- 20mbs down /2mb up. Bottom line- I'd stay here again.
Nice hotel, good appearance and inviting from the roadway. Easy and quick check-in. Nice pool, but did not use. Had an adequate breakfast next morning. Clean room, nice shower, comfortable bed and a selection of pillows on the bed.
Settled into the Best Western Plus after getting into Wendover UT which is very close to the Nevada border. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. This hotel is spotless and you can always bet that you will have a great room. They offer breakfast, pool, exercise room. I will definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend this Best Western Plus to family and friends.
We frequently travel between our home and the West Coast and we make it a habit to stop in Wendover and stay at Best Western Plus. This is a very nice clean and comfortable place to stay. We will stay here again.
THe hotel was clean and everything worked, The parking lot is well lit, which was a concern as we were travelling with some items that could not be taken to the room. I left an expensive shotgun in my room. We called from the road and the staff retrieved it and held it at the front desk until our return. Breakfast was hot and there were several choices.
We spent a night here while in town for a baseball tournament. The hotel was clean, modern and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the air conditioning didn't work very well. If I was coming back to Wendover I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
We live in Salt Lake. Being a hotel manager myself, our family love to stay in hotels and experience different cities. When you think about Wendover, most people only think about a place to gamble but there are other things to do, even with 4 Children and 2 dogs. We played at Knolls, Salt flats, museum in Wendover, explored the mountains, etc This hotel have a great inside pool, good breakfast, comfortable rooms and EXCEPTIONAL GUEST SERVICES! Everyone was very polite and will do anything to make you have a good stay. I interacted with front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, etc One "person" in particularly let me use her own I phone charger due to the fact that I forgot mine. Next day, I asked the name of that person and was informed she is the General Manager: " Bina Chaudhari. She is definitely leading her team by example!!! We will be back for a quick getaway.
Hotel has nice lobby, Room was big , clean and nice amenities, we also enjoy pool water was warm, all hotel staff was friendly and good people's, breakfast was average all most similar in all best western. All over recommend this place for stay.
I don't like filling out these unless there is a problem the only complaint is when we made the reservation we had someone that wanted our credit card right off the bat we hung up twice the person kept calling us so we waited and called 1-800 best western and reported what happened The person on the phone was from India and could speak very little English But he knew how to say needcredit card number
I came here because I had a good experience at another Best Western. This was also pretty good. I found the room very clean. Carpets, bed, linens, towels. Internet was very fast. They did have a few extra plugs for our electronics. They have the usual amenities, coffee maker, TV, microwave, frig, small pool, workout room (equipment for weight training/bike/elliptical), and free breakfast in the morning. As usual with most hotels, you could hear talking through the wall, and footsteps from the floor above. My biggest complaint here was the frig did not have a controller that I could find to make it cooler (or to turn it on) and it was barely cool. My cold packs I use in my cooler thawed overnight. The TV also had quite a few fuzzy channels, but I wasn't that interested in TV, but it may bother others. The staff were all very nice. No complaints. I was also able to print some paperwork I got via email for work in the lobby for free, which was nice. If I were to stay in this town again, I would definitely stay here again. I think anyone looking for a clean hotel, for a really good price would be happy staying here.
Room was her clean and comfortable. Employees were friendly. Room was a little on the small side as some of the newer ones are. Plenty of electrical outlets for electronics. Only stayed one night - arriving late and leaving somewhat early. Good value for the money.
The staff are helpful and friendly starting with the front desk staff ( Nora ) sweet person to the cleaning ladies ( Fabiola ), they make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and with fresh towels everyday. The breakfast is great they will give you some fruits even after breakfast was over I love it. I recommend staying here.
Upon arrival the check in staff was very friendly. We got a room on the first floor and upon viewing our room and using the shower we quickly noticed that the place is not very well taken care of both walls around the shower were rotted the showerhead cannot move and the water sprays along the back of the shower making it very difficult for my daughter who is short to take a shower without being sprayed in the face. Repairs are clearly needed to the walls around the shower as well as outside the soap dispensers that they have mounted near the sink and inside the shower were out of soap and conditioner. They ask me at check in if we had animals now I know why it's because they allow animals on the first floor so if you think you're going to get some sleep you may think again because dogs were barking if you walk down the hallway the dogs would bark if you sneezed the dogs would bark. The place was well priced and I hope they can figure out the issues they're having to make this a better place it definitely Can be. Full breakfast is included which is just ok.
We were very happy with our stay. We had our dog with us so we were provided a ground floor room near grass. Hotel was a short walk from the casinos. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We will stay again.
We drive RT yearly between California and Michigan on Interstate 80. Always looking for good, pet friendly motels between San Francisco Area and Salt Lake City. Wendover, NV Best Western is a comfortable friendly place to stay--coming or going from Bay Area-- a day's drive from Wendover--approx. 630 miles. Motel is away from noisy freeway--close to entertainment and supermarket.
Nice one-night stop between California and Colorado. Clean and comfortable hotel, with a very good selection of hot breakfast items. Beds were comfortable and the room amenities were good. The oOnly problem is Wendover doesn't have a lot of quality restaurants outside of casinos, and some of the restaurants in casinos were closed on weeknights. This, of course, is not a blemish on this hotel ... just a helpful hint for travelers.
A nice, clean, and modern facility. Staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed in a king room. The bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean. Nice, fresh towels! Would definitely stay here again!
Stopped here on our way back home from a vacation as a last minute decision. They were able to accommodate us with no problem and accepted our dog which is a difficult to find. Breakfast was also helpful when looking at another day of road travel!
We were thinking, "We are driving I80 east and here's a good best western hotel that is non-smoking as they are on the Utah side of town". Staff is fairly friendly. Then we find out elevator is broken and there are no rooms on the first floor. You have to drag your bags up the stairs. People were doing that all night as they arrive. OK things happen. But you know then you notice the little things like Towel Rack coming off the wall and so forth. Plumbing in the shower/tub has been repaired by amateurs with gobs of caulk everywhere. Then you notice the broken window in a room as in cracked all the way across ( Not our room fortunately ). When you go down to breakfast in the morning the floor and most of the tables dirty. OK that can happen, but when do they clean them, because they didn't during our time eating a slow breakfast ? Walking along the hall one of the storage room doors is open and you notice all the trash and dust/debris on the floor. Then when the little lady wanders out to ask for something they were out of in the breakfast room she notices the room with all the food is really dirty too. That's not good. Maybe they had half of the staff call in sick and they are doing the best they can ?? We thought it all was probably just kind of something that happened because there were sunspots or something. But on a previous trip we had similar issues...... We were already booked so we returned again about 5 days later on our return trip westbound. Guess what ? Elevator was still broken. Breakfast room wasn't kept clean. Different little repair issues with the different room. Things like the paper thin walls at this hotel that require you to walk up to the floor above ( or below, or next door ) and knock on the door to tell the other guests that you can hear every step of their two children and the parental reprimands as they run around isn't really something mgmt can do anything about. Everything else like repairs and cleanliness they could fix. If they wanted to. I think some of the short sugary reviews aren't real but who knows. We have seen enough on three visits and won't be back. We will change our drive across Nevada/Utah and just skip Wendover completely. It will take us an extra day but it will be worth it. One night in Winnemucca and then take some time and stay in Park City Utah the next before continuing east. It's worth it. Good luck to you if you choose to stay here.
I had a very enjoyable stay. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was professional and efficient. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful selection of various breakfast foods.
Clean modern room. First class hotel. Hot breakfast was included and very nice. 2 minute drive from casinos. Only negative is that the bacon was not fully cooked at breakfast buffet... And that is minor that I hesitate to mention it.
Just stayed one night at the BW Wendover and was very impressed! The rooms looked like they had just been remodeled and were very tastefully done. Rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable! My husband had breakfast and was impressed with that too.
Clean, good size rooms, dog friendly. Unfortunately we had a room right next to the back door and back staircase so our dog barked and growled every time someone walked into the hotel. Thankfully (?) the AC was very loud with must have toned the dog barking down a bit. No complaints in the morning. There are no decent restaurants in town, but at least five big casinos. The breakfast is good. This was our second stay here in two years and the standard has been the same.
We stayed there here for one night on a trip. Hotel is clean and the staff is excellent. My only recommendation would be to ask for a room away from the stairs because people ran up and down them all night
We wanted to be closer to the casino, however it really wasn't more than a 5 minute walk. We were towing a 20 ft flatbed trailer with a very expensive CNC machine and had to park on the street. The clerk assured us that we had nothing to worry about, as they have not had any problems with theft or vandalism. We were also surprised how nice the room due to it being a pet room. Very clean and did not smell like lysol.
Starting with staff, As I arrived my hostess was very friendly well mannered she was very informative of good places to eat, was well knowledgeable for things to do in the nice town of wendover Utah, My room was fresh smelling cozy beds softest I have ever slept in any hotel that I have stayed in so far , the breakfast was superb. I enjoyed my stay and will highly recommend this hotel to other guests I will stay again.
i stayed here in best western with my family. and we enjoyed a lot our stay here. they had a good varieties breakfast in a morning. also the hotel was clean.and staff were friendly. i like this hotel. we will stay here again in future.
Nice hotel . Very comfortable pleasant room with everything we needed. Very pleasant staff . The free breakfast was sufficient with a good selection of items. However no fried eggs ! I had a nice omelette and French toast which were very tasty .would stay again .
we had a wonderful experience at this dog friendly hotel. Clean rooms, good value for the money. All employees we encountered were courteous and professional. Good selection for the continental breakfast, and I love the waffle maker.
We expect nothing but the best from Best Western and we were not disappointed. The room was clean and had good lighting. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels in the clean, well lit bathroom. This hotel offers a full breakfast that was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here after a cross-Nevada drive, and needed to relax. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and no interruptions or noisy neighbors. Breakfast was in a clean and adequate, bagels a bit smaller than I have seen before - but good! They do take cats, which is rare and much appreciated. BW Plus means a desk that does not double as a table, and this one was quite nice. Shower water pressure excellent. Would stay again.
The rooms were spacious, clean and a great value. I would rather stay here than a casino. You are within quick driving or walking distant from the casino with out the noise and smoke. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
cleaned carpets when I was out and went in any way after they could not reach me . floor was wet , my bags were wet smelt , I also had do not disturb sign on door, left door propped open to room with all my belongings and computer out in the
We visited this hotel with friends. Located after the Utah border, it offers comfortable and clean rooms. We did not eat at the restaurant, only for breakfast. The staff is friendly. Parking is available and free.
This is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean, neat, and quiet.I absolutely love the people, the friendliness, the comfort and the room. We were happy with our stay.i will definately stay here again.
People are friendly and they do good job to make stay comfortable! Nice place for the price. Close to i80 and pet friendly. Nice breakfast too. Hightly recommened place in wendover. They have indoor pool too.
If you don't like staying at the casinos or just want to get away from the cigarette smoke, then this place is a good option. Nothing fancy, but it is quiet and clean. I've stayed at a couple of the casinos and I keep coming back to this place. I just wish there was better food in Wendover...
Typical of Best Western Plus. I learned a lesson on this trip. Do not stay at a regular BW. The Plus's are a definite upgrade. My cat got under the bed and Fabriola and Alejandro came to my room and lifted up the bed so I could get the cat out. Outstanding service.
Just average overall. Room was musty, probably from previous smokers even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. Was glad to leave in the morning. I do not recommend this property even for an overnight stay.
I really like this hotel due to it's consistency. Never seems to get older or run down(new chipped room keys are cool) and it's a great option for me and my dogs. Much better option than staying in the casinos up the street.
Away from casinos. Comfortable bed, clean; friendly staff. Convenient to casinos if you choose to go. Quiet. Breakfast offerings were varied and pleasantly displayed. Would love more fresh fruit. Definitely most appealing option on Utah side.
Tried to avoid smoky casino rooms so opted for the smoke free Best Western Plus. We have stayed in various other BW+ and we're always happy with the properties. Not so with this one. Our room smelled horrible- obviously had been inhabited by a smoker. Air con unit is the type that goes on and off all night. Breakfast unappealing so skipped and went on to Bella's in Wells. Work out room no wipes for machines and one clean towel. I think this property needs more tlc to be called a plus.
I stay here to get away from the casinos. It is a nice place that is quiet and won't smell like cigarette smoke. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. I just wish Wendover had better places to eat...
We had an unplanned stay here due to car problems and a clean room and comfy bed were a welcome sight. The front desk staff we helpful and friendly and our room had everything we needed to rest up before hitting the road again with a hire car. Our room was clean and the complimentary coffee was better than average. We did notice the bath towels were quite thin and worm, with one frayed; everything else was well presented We appreciated the free wi-fi and helpful dining recommendations from the desk staff.
Great place to stay in a rather small town. Right off the highway, 1/2 mile from a casino if you choose to go. Staff friendly and helpful, great breakfast. Use the laundry room, great! Didn't take over an hour to dry clothes as I've experienced in other hotels.
As you drive into Wendover and see the strip of local hotels, it is pretty apparent why BW is the top rated place in the area. It simply looks newer than the surrounding area. We were the only ones checking in, so that took no time, and we ended up in room 107, right off the main lobby. I was a little concerned about noise, but that never materialized. The room itself was clean and spacious enough. The kids went to the small but decent pool for a while. Beds were comfortable. Chains have started kicking up the game a notch for breakfast, and it was no exception here. Bacon, eggs, waffles, pastries, yogurt...plenty of options. It is within walking distance of Montego Bay casino (about a half mile). There's very limited food options nearby, though. A very solid choice.
We were traveling on I-80 from Northern CA to Provo, UT and stopped for the night. Arrived at midnight and were greeted by staff and quickly given keys to room. We were surprised how full the hotel was and were glad we made reservations a few days in advance. $110 with a AAA discount. We found the room to be well equipped and provided the necessary basics. It was clean. The air wasn't on in the room and it was a very hot day so it took awhile to cool down. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible(foam). Spent the night tossing and turning and woke up with a neck ache. The towels were worn and very small compared to other hotels. They have dispensers in the shower for soap, shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was served rom 6-10am. It was a typical breakfast but the room was very messy (no staff was keeping an eye on it). this hotel is on the Utah side of Wendover and there is not much around. It did have a pool and a TV in the Lobby. Not much of a view out the window of our room.
The place is clean. Corridors and rooms air conditioned, but elevators and vending machine rooms were not air conditioned. Not much in this town, but this place is nice. The breakfast is real basic, not much at all. About six blocks from the Nevada side of town with the casinos. The staff was pleasant. Stayed on third story which was very quiet. I've been to better Best Western motels, but this one s nice for Wendover.
We are traveling across country and stopped late to get some sleep. This was a great stop. Nice , comfortable rooms. Pool looked nice it was closed, hours 6am-10 pm, and teenagers were disappointed but looked very nice. Breakfast was good and ready at 6 am.
We had driven from Sacramento, CA, and were very tired. The room was very nice and the beds awesome. The pillows were great too. It was very quiet and we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was excellent.
Stayed here on travels and took time to visit friends in the area. Was very impressed with this hotel. We had a dog and it was only $10 extra for that. Our room was near a door to take dog out. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean and comfy. The sin area was separate from stool and shower which I love!!!! Also it had soap dispensers instead of hotel sized bottles. Great idea and less waste that way. If you are into casinos you are only about a mile away. Would definitely stay here again.!!!!!
This is on the Utah side of the community. It was very clean, modern, and friendly staff. Breakfast area was cramped and not big enough for the number of guests trying to use it. Otherwise it was a great place. We would stay again without hesitation!
I was glad we chose this BW in Wendover, instead of something in West Wendover. Nice clean hotel. Pool (small), breakfast was good. Staff was helpful when we needed more towels, and had questions about the area.
Excellent staff support, clean, fairly new hotel. Good breakfast choices, good working A/C. Pet friendly and quick checkin and checkout. I would recommend this hotel any time. Stayed while traveling from Colo. to Calif. during July 2016.
Have used this location several times in the past. They still are providing great clean, quiet, well appointed rooms. They also offer a free breakfast with enough choices to please just about everyone.
We were pleasantly surprised to fine this gem. The room décor and general state was better that we anticipated , cant go wrong with this one. the beds were as good as I have had anywhere. I would recommend this motel to anyone
Spent a night here and found the staff friendly and the rooms adequate. Seemed like about the best place to stay that was not connected to a casino. Good choice for a family, and a good day's drive if coming east from California. Hotel was packed, and I would definitely stay again.
After the long ride over the salt flats, about all you want to do is a good room and rest. There is a reason this motel is a plus. They have all the amenities a weary traveler could be looking for along with an extremely hospitable staff. They prove to be a memorable plus as well.
I have decided that Best Western's are a good place to stay. Pool and hot tub were great. Great clean room. Downfalls were...Only 3 towels for room and the pool towels were empty. Also, no evening cookies and milk like a previous Best Western. If ever here again, we would stay here again.
Had a nice quiet, comfortable stay at this Best Western. Clean room. Friendly staff at check in. I usually stay here when I'm in Wendover because of Best Western's rewards program. It's a nice alternative to the casinos.
We stopped here on our way through to Park City, Utah. The room was clean and very basic, but so generic that you could be anywhere in the world. Wouldn't having a representation of the area...Bonneville Salt Flat & races...the wonder of the high desert...or the beauty of the Salt Lake...be better than decor so generic? The staff was polite although when we ask about a nice dinner we were directed to a chain family restaurant in Utah, no mention of anything on the Nevada side.
Best Western appears to have made great strides in improving their facilities over the past few years. I'd stopped using their hotels because they seemed to have gone into disrepair, but in the last few years, I've stayed in many Best Westerns. Every stay has been enjoyable with nice, clean, comfortable buildings, and friendly folks at the desks.
What a dump. Room was sweltering hot on arrival, smells of ancient dust and body odor, shower head hanging loosely from the wall by the pipe, elevator inoperative "but we do have stairwells!" Even the Budget Host of Kadoka, SD offered a bar of soap. Best Western Plus? Wall-mounted hand soap to completes the atmosphere of a gas station restroom. No visible rodents or cockroaches, merely the hint of these things. So in some ways they can aspire to be worse.
Overall a good value for the area. The only issue I had was the hot tub, the water was not hot and the jets were mediocre. Grab handle for the hot tub was loose at it's base and I nearly fell into the hot tub
I knew Ted Nugent was performing in town, but what no one told us was that there was also a symphony of dogs performing at this hotel the same night, all night. Apparently this hotel is pet friendly, and dogs bark all night long. (We found this out the hard way). Not being able to sleep kind of defeats the purpose of a hotel, right? Even though the hotel is nice and clean, I couldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you have a pack of furry friends that are going to piss off all the other guests and make babies scream and cry all night. However, the eggs were good at breakfast. Just plan on sleeping in your car half the next day. It's better rest than you're going to get at this Best Western.
elevator did not work, this was a new hotel a few years back but it is not being maintained. bathroom floors dirty, holes in the doors YUKKKKK, for that kind of money we could have stayed at the Montego Bay
The hotel was no problem. It's an ex days Inn building but no worse for that. All facilities were provided but the only elevator was out of action, requiring guests to carry their luggage up stairs. The fire doors to the stairs were wedged open which could be a fire risk hazard.
The night we were there the wind was very strong. Behind the hotel is a fence about 6-10 feet directly behind the odd numbered rooms on th4e first floor. the wind howled all night long making a whistling sound. At 2:30 am I asked the desk clerk to come down and hear this loud noise. Asked for another room was told they were sold out. Had to wait until 2 days later to talk to the manager. She is foreign and is very difficult to understand. My wife and I only got about 2 hours sleep and we were offered a $6.00 credit. Unacceptable. Stay somewhere that is more customer oriented.
To visit daughter number one in Alberton , Montana, I proceeded up the west coast of the USA, as is one of my main routes of travel. Visited a long time friend in Corvalis, Oregon and then on beautiful trails to Montana. Delivered Waterford Crystal to number one child. Friend added beautiful Silverware and added pieces as gift to my angel daughter. I trusted staying at Best Western Hotels. coming and going. I just "dropped into Wendover Inn" before 6 pm and found my room for the night. Thank God. And Thank Best Western. I plan to Drive to Virgina in a couple of weeks to pass on other family items to number two daughter. I expect to find more places to stay along the way every bit as nice as and every bit as safe as the Wendover Inn. I travel a lot. Best Western has been a "family staple" for more than 40 years. And I have become a "smart" world traveler. Thank you Trip Advisor too. You have been out there rating the same places as I. Jan Chainey, La Honda, CA.
We were doing a cross-country move with our two cats and needed a pet-friendly hotel. Check-in was easy, and we were thrilled that we had a pet-friendly room on the top floor because we really didn't want to have to worry about noises above us. In fact, it was quiet overall, with the only exception being hallway noise, which can rarely be avoided in hotels anyway. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night's sleep here and appreciated the free breakfast that was offered, which was no frills, but had enough options to please us. This hotel is conveniently located right off of I-80 near the Bonneville Salt Flats and if you walk down the road, you can stand in two states and also enjoy dinner at one of their local casinos. We were pleasantly pleased with our stay here and would definitely choose this hotel if we are ever in the area again.
Accommodation was good, Bed was comfortable, morning breakfast was typical. Best hotel on that side of Wendover. However walls were "thin", poor sound insulation. We could hear every toilet flush and shower from our neighbors. We could hear conversations in the corridor and other rooms! Outside sounds also came through, but fortunately the road is quiet. Not what I would expect from what appeared to be a modern hotel. We parked in the back near our room, but we had to navigate a set of steps with luggage. Could not use the courtesy luggage carts.
Beds were extremely comfortable. Being pet friendly was the reason we stayed here. The pet fee was only $10. My only complaint was at breakfast they did not have any high chairs for our one year old son, which is very odd. Over all though good stay.
This is very convenient place to stay if visiting Bonneville Salt Flats as it is only a couple of miles away. The reception staff were not very helpful or friendly. The room was large but very noisy - the walls are paper thin. The breakfast was standard for Best Western.
I usually do not look forward to staying in Wendover. However, I did stay just last week at the Best Western Plus. What a surprise! The motel was much nicer than I expected. It was clean, the room furniture was attractive, the bed was great and there was bacon for breakfast. Now if I could find a good place to eat,,,,
We came here to stay for two evenings, as visiting the Bonneville Salt Flats. The lady who booked us in seemed pleasant enough, the room was clean, no breakfast. Wendover has little to offer if you are not into gambling and visiting the Salt flats. The views around are amazing but not much to do
We usually look for a Best Western when returning or going on a trip. This hotel was at the right place in our return trip from Park Cit. The service was very good making our check-in and check-out simple and pleasant.
I used to only stay here because of the rewards program, but it appears that the management has made some efforts to fix the place up. I haven't experienced any of the issues I have in the past, i.e., holes in bathroom doors, door handles that don't open the doors, etc. Now I prefer to stay here because it is away from the casinos.
Our stay was pretty nice. The room was clean and the service was okay. The swimming pool is cracking on the bottom, and my children and I got cuts on the bottoms of our feet. I reported it to the front desk, and hopefully it will get fixed for the next patrons.
This place has great spacious rooms which are extremly clean...there is plenty of parking. The rooms have refrigerators. They have a hot breakfast...waffles and bacon. There is a pool and a fair size exercise room. The hotel is situated in Wendover (not West Wendover, where the casinos are)...and unfortuantely, the area is a little dilapadated...so it is not a great area to walk around.
We stayed at the Best Western due to the price and other online reviews. It was nice to be in a place away from the smoke and noise of the local casinos. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and polite. Would stay there again.
Good property, little problem with the temp setting on the A/C but nothing that could not be overcome. Great staff and a good breakfast. Was a very restful stop after a long day of driving. Having this quality of property in Wendover meant we didn't have to stay in one of the casino/hotels in West Wendover. Thanks Best Western Plus owners.
I like it when you check into a place, and they ask you what floor you'd like to be on - rarely do we get a choice. We'd been traveling for a couple of days - so what we wanted was a nice place with a comfy bed and good pillows - we found it here. This part of Utah has seen it's day in the sun - but I'm glad we chose to stop in Wendover. There's a lot of history here - and this side of the state border is quiet. We found a spacious room - with all the amenities (love the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion on the wall) - great WiFi - nice TV with a good selection of channels - a hot breakfast - dinner within walking distance - nice linens - easy parking - indoor pool...I have one complaint - No Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins (I really wanted an ice cream)...but that isn't Best Western's fault, is it? Oh well!! - You'll have a good stay here.
Nice location and quite rooms, staff is very friendly and caring. Comfortable beds and clean room. They had nice breakfast too. The internet speed was very good. It was awesome stay and worth the price we paid. I would recommend it to friends and family.
Stayed here for a week for work! Rooms are huge, very clean and housekeeping is meticulous, the whole staff is amazing, hotel is entirely updated and the big breakfast is a great plus...easy access to the strip and the great salt flats! Awesome place to stop!
Great location in a neat little town in Utah. Hot tub was very nice after a long hike to Moonshine Arch. Beds were very comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. A good place for the money. There is a walk around the city that is quite interesting and you can start here
We searched at the last minute when we decided it was time to stop. My only complaint was there was no real "eateries" open even though it was just 8:30 PST (the time changes at the border). Even the casinos had little open. Room was nice and bed very comfy. Breakfast was perfect and yes we were hungry.
Our visit to Wendover was quite pleasant. Very pet friendly, room was spacious enough to accommodate a large animal kennel, without taking up a lot of space. The breakfast area was nice, with choices for most tastes. The pool area was nice and large with 2 tables with chairs and a number of loungers. On a side note, it would have been nice to have other yogurts, not just 'Fit & Light'. In addition, late checkouts before 3 pm need to be revised.
Just needed an overnight while on a road trip. No problems with any aspect of the hotel or staff. Everything from check in to check out worked smoothly. In my opinion, it does not measure up to "Plus" Best Western. Rooms while OK are not spacious. Towels have done a bit of hard labour. Beds were comfortable. Room 111 has a spotlight outside the window and you need clips to pin the Blockout curtains to keep this bright light out. Breakfast buffet offers hot, cold, cereals etc. etc. using plastic cutlery and plates. Good for an overnight but maybe not for an extended stay. On the plus side, it is at the quiet end of town so you don't get disturbed by casino traffic. There is a new restaurant Copper Kettle a short walk away - serves burgers and Mexican plus all day breakfast.
The staff was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of nice pillows. Breakfast was hot and fresh, and quite tasty. Our room was near the highway end of the hotel and they was some traffic noise, but that's unavoidable. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely stay again.
Most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Nice room layout too with a small couch so everyone didn't have to sit on the beds to watch tv. Nice pool and hot tub although the pool was very cold. Overall a great place to stay, we will stay there again on our next trip out to Wendover.
This hotel is a standard Best Western with a few "Plus" amenities. The upgraded jet tub room was clean and spacious, but had an odd configuration for the furniture. There was no TV in the obvious TV room, and no guest table or chairs.
I've experienced a couple of issues at this hotel in the past, but they seem to be working on them. This time, I had no issues and everything worked as expected. I got checked in quickly and got a descent night's rest.
We like this hotel. This is the 2nd time we have stayed. This time we had a first floor room just off the lobby. Comfortable room and bed BUT the sound from the bathroom above ours was crazy. Squeaky faucets and shower noise at 5:30 a.m.. I honestly thought it sounded like someone was in our bathroom taking the shower. We'll definitely ask for a top floor room next time. Other than that our stay was pleasant.
Nice, clean motel. Appeared to be the nicest in the wendover area and was cheaper than the casinos, plus a nice breakfast included. Only disappointment was the pool and hot tub were out of order due to a broken heating element. Staff was very nice
Stayed here overnight after a day long drive. Beautiful, extremely clean room! Very quiet. Nice full breakfast. Staff very kind and helpful. Allowed us to check in an hour early without batting an eye. Everything you could want and more!
We stayed here last night. The staff is friendly and we like the no smoke atmosphere. We arrived a bit early but were still allowed to check in.The beds are comfortable. We got up too late to have the complimentary breakfast.
The hotel itself is on par with most Best Western Plus hotels, with the exception of the free breakfast, which was lacking in selections. There were prepackaged omelets and some pretty shabby bacon. Other BWP hotels I've stayed in, provided scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes and, in some cases, biscuits and gravy. I left hungry.
We got in very late, receptionist was very friendly and we left very early. Breakfast was good and ready before 6 AM. Clean room especially since it was dog friendly. Small fee for the dog. Hotel is quiet but close to the Casinos in NV. We would stay here again.
I have stayed in 3 other motels in this small area. NONE can match this place. I come back here every time I travel through. The cleanest rooms, the best service. Always a smile waiting for you no matter if it comes from the front desk clerk to the maids, they are always friendly and proffessional
Excellent hotel. The rooms were very clean. The staff is friendly. All of the amenities were good: internet, breakfast, pool. The beds were comfortable. The hotel let us check in early, which was nice.
It had been over four years since we stayed at a Best Western, and we were not really impressed with the place. That's why the Wendover stay was such a nice surprise. It didn't show its age, and the beds were especially comfortable!
The motel was very clean and very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. The Breakfast was good and the people helpful. It was located on the main road and convenient to other areas of the city. We would stay here again and would also recommend this Motel to others who are traveling in this area.
Wendover was a good stopping point for us, we only needed a bed and a shower...this Best Western Plus was great, we would have stayed again on the return trip but it just didn't fit the schedule. The entire hotel is very clean...the only real complaint is you could hear the other rooms showers and the toilet flush was pretty loud. The breakfast was good with plenty of coffee. The hotel is easy to get to from I-80.
The room was nice and I had a good night sleep. The stay was quiet and bed was comfortable. I have stayed here before on my way home. I like the location of the hotel and the room are clean and good valve for the price. I will continue to make a reservation with the hotel in the future.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus for the second time on a leisure trip to the Wendover area for some ATV riding with our club. (If you haven't ridden the Silver Island Mountains, you're missing some awesome winter-long riding.) As previously, we found the hotel clean, well managed, and comfortable. The beds are excellent, rooms are immaculate and the breakfast is well stocked with a variety of foods, including bacon, cheese omelets and yogurt for the gluten-intolerant among us. The one complaint I have is that the chairs in the breakfast room are too low, making eating a bit awkward for us average-sized folks - I imagine it's even more uncomfortable for shorter people. But all in all, especially at the government rate, it's a great value and a reliable place to stay in Wendover if you wish to avoid the casino resorts. I would recommend it and we will surely stay here again.
This Best Western was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We usually stay at a casino in Wendover but never again! This Best Western was by far, much less expensive. and more friendly and more personalized! Contrary to what we thought, casino hotels are NOT the best value. We will stay here again. We always return from Yuma to Canada through this route and are so happy to find such a pleasant place to stay our first night. We highly recommend this hotel!
i sometimes have to travel to Wendover on business. I usually stay in one of the casinos in West Wendover. This time, however, I decided to stay on the Utah side. The Best Western Wendover Inn is clearly the nicest hotels on the Utah side. Most are dumps. This one was pretty good. I know it used to be another brand, but has appeared to get a facelift in the Best Western changeover. The hotel was clean and fairly comfortable. The staff was friendly. The room was adequately sized, not too large, but not too small. The WiFi had good signal and speed, but the TV was awful. The bed was firm and comparable to the beds at the casino hotels. For roughly the same price as the casino hotels, breakfast was included at the Best Western. It was decent, about average for this type of hotel. It had both hot and cold items. My main criticism of the hotel is the towels. Small and harsh. Like trying to dry off with a piece of carpet. Other than that, it's nice to have a decent option in the area that doesn't reek of smoke. I will definitely stay there again.
Nice rooms with comfortable beds. If you're looking to get away from the casino hotels in Wendover, I'd give this place a try. Staff are pleasant. We didn't eat breakfast there, but did grab a cup of coffee for the road in the morning. If you're staying on the UT side of Wendover, I would definitely choose this hotel again.
Nice, pleasant place to stay. Great breakfast, convenient location, nice quiet rooms, and a polite helpful staff. One of the better Best Westerns in the country. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We visited Wendover to attend a show at the Peppermill concert hall and did not want to stay at a casino. The Trip Advisor reviews led us to choosing the Best Western Plus. It is a very nice facility at the outskirts of town and it looks either new or newly renovated. At check in, we were asked to sign a statement about not smoking in our room as we had selected a non-smoking room. However, the room itself had recently been smoked in so we noted it to the staff. Because the hotel was nearly full the evening we were staying, and we were traveling with another party that wanted to be close by to our room, we opted to stay in the room assigned. Other than the odor, the room was very nice, clean and the breakfast was what one would expect at this type of facility. Great staff, well lighted parking, quiet location!
Reasonable rate for the room and amenities. The staff was very friendly and professional. The lighting in the room was too dim, especially in the bathroom, and the bathroom vanity was not large enough. The toilet would run constantly without adjusting the mechanism in the water tank.
Hotel must have been totally remodel. Every thing was fresh and clean. Very pleased with the room. Excellent for a budget hotel. I would rate the free breakfast above average with several hot items such as bacon, eggs and make your own waffle. I wish I would have booked all my other nights at a BW plus instead of America best value inns.
Best Western Wendover is a good place to stay because they deliver a consistent Best Western experience. No surprises. You expect Best Western quality and at the Wendover location you get Best Western quality.
Poor customer service, non working pool or jacuzzi, doors and locks didn't work, no breakfast due to standing room only - left and headed for mcdonalds. We will not return to this hotel. It was not worth it.
Booked a last minute stay at this Best Western for 2 rooms. Check in process was terrible as the clerk didn't inform us about anything the hotel had to offer. She was wearing jeans and a NFL Steelers hoodie, which I'm sure management would not be happy with. The rooms however, were tastefully designed and very well cleaned. Spoke with the housekeeping manager in the morning to let her know how pleased my girlfriend was with the cleanliness of the room. Management was very quick to assist with a minor billing issue and made the fix immediately. I will be sure to recommend and return to this hotel.
The room is a pretty good size, although the sink is basically in the bedroom. The beds are ok although the pillows were too hard for me. I prefer when hotels give a couple of different types of pillows in the room and I much prefer down to foam. The water flow at the sink was paltry for the cold water, although ok for the warm. The towels couldn't be any smaller and still be considered a bath towel. The shower flow was not strong enough and both the flow and the temperature varied throughout my shower. The amenities are provided in wall dispensers - which is fine (I can appreciate both the money-savings and the garbage reduction). However, the dispensers used dispense so little of the product at a time that you have to pump and pump and pump to get enough shampoo or soap or whatever to use. To use the wifi I had to keep logging in. It seemed like if I didn't use it for 30 minutes I was dropped and had to log in again - and that meant having to constantly look for the password. The breakfast choices were disappointing. Only 2 types of bread (neither was wheat), generic jelly and no honey or PB, only 2 juice choices. Fruit (bananas and apples) didn't look great, bacon was as thin as paper. There was a waffle maker that did look like it was making good waffles but that was about it. And the seating was awkward - huge chairs that took up too much space and didn't sit at the right height for eating at the tables. The door to our room did not close all the way without really pulling or pushing (depending on which side of the door you are on). You would think this would have been noticed by now and fixed. It definitely would be very easy to walk away from the room and not realize that the door had not closed all the way. The room was quiet though so that is a positive. Unfortunately, unless you want to stay in a smoke-filled casino on the other side of the state line, I don't think there are any better options in this town.
Wendover is a small town on the Utah/Nevada border on I 80. There is not much else for 100 miles either direction. West Wendover, on the Nevada side, has 3 huge casinos. Wendover on the Utah side has about 4 motels but not much else. The Best Western was a pleasant surprise. It was reasonably priced. The room was updated and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again. The only complaint I can think of was that the towels were thin and reminded me of Motel 6.
We stayed at this hotel for 0ne night and it was truly one of the best stays. The staff was so nice. We had many other choices with the casinos, however we have enjoyed our Best Western choices so fae. The room was so awesome and it surprised us!!! The main factor in all this was the non smoking rooms.. That was a tremendous plus for us!!. Everything was spacious and very clean!! You never had to ask for anything, and since my partner/wife has tremors, staff made sure they accommodated her in every way possible. Total awesomeness!! The rates were very reasonable. There was plenty of parking, and we felt so safe. We will definitely be back and highly recommending this Best Western for future stays.
Sister Roblyer and I who are Missionaries for the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission travel to Wendover ever other week to visit with local leadership and the wonderful Elders in the Mission. We don't spend much time in the hotel as we are off to meetings and spend time with the Missionaries. It is nice to have a comfortable place to stay. This Hotel is a very good place to stay and you don't have to pay some of the fees that are required at some of the resort properties. The Bathroom sink are is fairly small so only one person at a time can use it. However, it is very comfortable and our room was pretty quite. I believe on the last night we stayed the place was sold out, Still it was pretty quite.
This was a first time staying on the Utah side of Wendover and we were not disappointed. To begin with you are paying less because you are not in the Casino/Hotels on the Nevada side. You are not very far from the casinos and it was very relaxing. It was not as noisy as staying in the casino hotels. This hotel has been renovated recently and our room was very nice. The breakfast was really good too. In fact the only down thing about the hotel is that the breakfast room is too small for the size of hotel. The tables and chairs are huge and eat up most of the space. It was hard to get your food because it was all in a small area so those waiting for the waffle machine pretty much blocked access to the other food. The bed was so comfortable and everything was spotless. They have a nice indoor pool and easy access on/off the freeway. We will definitely be staying here again. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and the girl who was taking care of the breakfast room was right on top of things. Several of us went to sit in the lobby area (which is quite large and comfortable with a fireplace and two computers in it) and eat and she even came out to see if we needed anything. We had a really pleasant stay
This was a very nice hotel at a moderate price. The room was larger and nicer than many hotels in this price range. It was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good - hot waffles and eggs and bacon, along with cereal and other cold options. It is a good place to stay in Wendover.
Very comfortable hotel whith friendly and helpfull staff. The laundry was not very clean and it was very expensive. The breakfast could be better : poor choice for the pastries (no donuts), plastic plates and glasses and nobody of the staff was present to help us.
If staying at a casino hotel isn't really your thing, this place might be a good option for you. It is comfortable and clean. Quiet. However, dining options are in or around the casinos. Otherwise, it is a pretty good place to stay.
Stayed here in June 2015 on our way to Denver via I-80. The hotel is in Utah, so no gambling to deal with, although it is available right down the street in Nevada. It was clean, quiet, super-comfy, with a great breakfast. We would stay here again for sure!
I have been staying in Best Western hotels for the the last two years or so, and my wife and I always look for a Best Western hotel when we are on road trips. For those who have not tried Best Western hotels, give them a try and you will not be disapppinted
I have stayed at this hotel on and off for 20 years while I drive to and from Ca to Wyoming. Traveling trough a few weeks ago we stayed again and every thing and staff were just fine. The day after we left I got a call asking if we had taken a blanket, I told them that I had not, I wouldn't even consider doing such a thing. They said that would have a supervisor call me back. I never got a call form the supervisor. Checking my credit card bill I noticed there was an extra charge from the hotel a few days after our stay for $50. I find this really sad, that now a days you have to record and check every thing you do. "Your Word" means nothing any more.. I own a similar business and if this had happen to me I would simply consider it a loss, and that maybe me and my staff had even made the mistake by not putting blankets on the bed..
Stayed here Dec. 17, 2015 w two pets. Extra charge for pets??. Rooms were clean, very comfy beds! We were given a room at the end of the hall so we could take the dog out a back door, however door was not secured, no key needed to enter. The door opened to stairs for an Upper level. Door opened and closed all night, people running up and down stairs. NOISY! Kept the dog and cat up all night. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast buffet was good, waffles, bagels, egg omlets and bacon, plenty of GOOD coffee, Sweet breads, cereal, juice... Nice selection. Easy access to casinos a few blocks down in Nevada's West Wendover. Would stay again but ask for a different room.
The room was clean and comfortable. Nice employees, the price was reasonable for the dogs. Breakfast was pretty forget- able but it was free. The customers with dogs should clean up after their own dog. That's pretty rude and unresponabile of a pet owner. The hotel should have to pick after your pet.
Comfortable beds and good wifi service. Clean rooms. Pet friendly. I really don't know anything more because we just were passing through and decided to stay at this hotel. If you happen to like gambling, then you would like this town.
It was a clean nice place to stay. We were on our way to Utah for a funeral and then returned the next night on our way back. It met our needs. The frog was little too cold and my diet coke was frozen,
I stay at this hotel because I am enrolled in their rewards program. If they didn't have a rewards program that earned you points towards free rooms, I probably would just stay at one of the casinos. I don't gamble, but it is convenient having restaurants in the casinos. This Best Western isn't next to any restaurants so you have to drive or walk back up towards the casinos in order to get something to eat. Otherwise, it is quiet and comfortable.
If you are looking for a clean, comfortable stay in Wendover consider this hotel. The casino hotels are full of smoke, but this one stands out as clean, new in appearance, nice decor and amenities. The breakfast was great. Friendly helpful staff.
this is a recently remodeled hotel. They offer thee minimum they possibly can as far as soap and body lotion and towels. no microwave in the rooms and breakfast is just horrible. The laundry sed not work..I can't even believe they have a laundry room. the fitness room was dirty and not sanitary...why even bother in going to this place?
Nice , clean & quiet room. Pillow top bed, with standard furnishings in room. When I was there the phone in the room did not work and the elevator was out. I suppose they changed the phone out, but not sure how long the elevator might be out do to the area this motel is in. They did make me aware at check in that the elevator was out and also warned me that most of the rooms available were up stairs.
After a 10 hour journey we arrived to find this hotel has no working elevator, pool not functioning, no resident laundry service, no vending machines, no bar, no mini bar. This is NOT what I would expect from a Best Western Plus. We would not recommend and will not be returning.
The hotel room was very nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay while just passing through. Everything was satisfactory and our room was updated which was nice. The only issue was that our soap dispenser was out of hand soap.
Lovely, clean, good breakfast and friendly staff. We had a great stay here and it was convenient to everything we wanted to do. Would stay here again. Had pillows that were too high and firm for my liking, but that is a personal preference. The breakfast was very good and liked the eggs that had salsa warmed on the inside. Nice surprise to go with the yummy, crisp waffles. Also, good coffee!
For the most part this was a typical Best Western Plus. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the breakfast was great. However, there were many minor problems. The toilet was very noisy when flushing (like Niagra Falls), there was not enough space to set things (I am used to having a table to also set things on), the pop vending machine did not work at all, our room keys stopped working long before we checked out (very inconvenient), and the shower head was frozen in place pointing directly at the back wall of the shower. Jasmine, the desk attendant who checked us in was efficient but not very friendly. And in the bathroom they had nice new dispensers for shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. I think that is a great idea, but they were very stingy about dispensing anything and I gave up and used my own. I know all these items are minor, but they add up to frustration when I am paying good money for a Best Western room.
My adult son and I stayed overnight during a cross country trip on I-80. The Best Western met our needs very nicely. We chose to stay in Wendover to avoid the hoopla of the casinos in West Wendover and we were rewarded with an excellent night's rest. We chose a top floor room in the middle of the hallway and it was very quiet throughout the night. The room was clean and comfortable. The fixtures were in good repair and the shower had plenty of water pressure. I enjoyed the exercise room as it had one of the better treadmills I found during our travels. Breakfast was more than adequate, with the usual make-your-own waffles, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. We enjoyed the bacon greatly. The WiFi worked well in our room. My concerns would be minor: Some channels on the TV were "fuzzy", there were no towels in the exercise room, the swimming pool and sauna were closed and unavailable, and I could not get a receipt at checkout since, according to the front desk person, I had paid online in advance. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I selected this site when I found out the casino properties do not accept pets and we were traveling from California to Denver with my daughter and her dog. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, the cleanliness and the overall comfort of this hotel. I will make this a stop when we trek again between states!
The first contact we made was with Brittany at the front desk. She was very polite and seemed to manage all her duties with ease. We have 2 large dogs and they were only $10 each more a piece which was not a huge deal since the room was reasonably priced. There is a few small grassy areas to let dogs potty and all the pet rooms are close to the back grassy area. The king room we had was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was not great but there were little omelet a and bacon so it wasn't just carbs like other places we've stayed.
We had a very nice stay at the Wendover Best Western Plus Inn. We prefer Best Western, LaQuinta or Holiday In Express but we have stayed at more Best Western hotels than any other. On this trip we stayed at 10 Best Westerns out of 14 hotels. We have been able to get a free night using our Reward Points, which is a nice feature. We recommend Best Western hotels!
We were glad to stay away from the casinos and had picked this hotel for that reason. Our check in was very iffy. The girl on reception was scruffily dressed and chewing green gum. Another guest spoke to her colleague and we realised that the other guest had already been given the room allocated to us as her original room had smelt of smoke. Not a great start and it didn't fill us with confidence! However, once we'd been given another room we were pleased to see that it was clean, didn't smell and was quiet. All that we wanted for one night! We ended up eating fast food in town. The complimentary breakfast was a good selection, including eggs and sausage, waffles that you made yourself, yogurts, fruit, cereals, bread, muffins, juice etc. We felt that after a shaky start we got a good value stay. But I think the management should do some staff training for some of their reception staff!
Hotel is very nice, beds are very comfortable. Not close to casinos but price more than makes up for it. Free breakfast is a plus. Good selection of food. Grounds are kept clean and interior is clean. Plenty of parking for vehicles and RV's if needed. Only couple minute drive from all the casinos.
I decided to try the Best Western in Wendover because I wanted a change of pace from the Casino Hotels. Also, I'm on the Best Western rewards program so I could earn points for my stay. The place was quiet and clean, but it is about a mile away from the restaurants in town. I can't say that my stay there was any better than staying at the Montego Bay. The casinos are much more convenient if you need a restaurant close by.
Great staff and clean room. We pulled in late and night clerk was courteous suggesting a handicap room and asking if we needed help. I will definitely stay there again when I'm passing through Wendover.
I felt I got a good deal here for a night's stay. It was enjoyable for the most part. I would definitely stay here again. The only hang up I had was the front desk check-in. I booked my stay through a third-party site with the option to pay at the hotel. When I got to check-in, I wanted to use a different card that what I made my reservation with, but was unable to.
