Best Western Watertown Fort Drum

We booked this hotel for a night and we were skeptical when first arriving . But like they always say, you can't judge a book by its cover. When we walked through the front doors into the lobby , it was very nice . The service manager was absolutely amazing and very helpful . He allowed us to check in early and went above and beyond with anything else we needed . If we ever find ourselves back in Watertown for the night, we will be booking here for sure.

Came here because my sin was returning from deployment. Pros: close to historic downtown. The food in town was delicious. Cons: The bathtub didn't drain and, after several requests, still not drained. The hotel website advertised a restaurant and bar on-site. Upon check-in, we were informed both closed in August 2023. Also, do not expect room to be even gently cleaned. You have to read the fine print at check-in to know that you have to request that service. Also, I heard several other visitors complain about items that didn't work in their rooms and were told "sorry," but there is nothing we can do. While the staff were very friendly, they could only work with what they have and apparently it's not much.

I have been staying at this hotel when I visit Watertown for the past 30 years. It is definitely tired and needs some attention across the board. The common corridors and stairs need to be painted and new carpet, our second floor hall had a very strong odor. The restaurant/bar sadly went out of business last fall and per the signs posted on their main ballroom door it has been condemned by the building department. The pool area could use an extensive cleaning as there is mold all over. The first day we had towels but the second day there were no towels for us to use. The breakfast has been better, there were fruit flies all inside the cabinet holding the muffins and bagels. Nothing we tried was very appetizing to my family. This hotel has been are go to hotel for years, but I think we will be staying elsewhere until they renovate.

This hotel is in a perfect location, a two minute walk to downtown and a five minute drive to all the shopping and restaurants of Arsenal Street. The facility is clean and well maintained, but a little dated in some areas. We stayed in #215 overlooking the large spacious parking lot, and our room was very clean and quiet, with a fantastic bed and good pillows. Josh at the front desk made us feel welcome and gave us excellent advice on local restaurant dinner options. Josh is THE MAN!!! The complimentary breakfast was delicious and definitely better than most hotel breakfast offerings; two varieties of eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, waffles, toast- you get the picture. The gentleman staffing the breakfast area was very friendly and efficient. All the food was fresh, hot and replenished often. Very clean. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

I needed to stay in town after work due to bad weather and chose Best Western Watertown to get a room to stay off roads and weather the storm. The staff was extremely friendly, room was very clean, no loud noise during sleeping hours, delicious breakfast. Overall a wonderful stay. Will definitely be choosing Best Western Watertown in the future.

We were in Watertown to attend a concert at the Dulles Auditorium, which is directly across the street from this Best Western. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, our room was comfy, and breakfast was hot and delicious! I would definitely stay again!

Loved that the hotel had free breakfast and EV charging. Older hotel but great location and value. Downtown so lots of places within walking distance and a short drive to the mall. I'd stay there again.

Hotel is an older property but it is well maintained. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable. The TV channels were ok, although they did not seem to have ESPN. The internet was fast and the breakfast was decent.

The hotel offered a very reasonable rate but the room was not very clean and smelt bad - like an animal had urinated on the carpet. The breakfast was very good. It would also be ideal if the hotel were to actually not allow non-electric vehicles to park in the spots for charging electric vehicle.

Mattresses in the standard room were not the most comfortable and I'm not sure what size beds they were -they didnt seem big enough to be "full" but were larger than twins. But whatever the size, 2 people cannot comfortablly sleep on a bed. There seems to be a plumbing issue throughout the building. My bathtub had to be plunged after every shower to get the water to go down the drain, and the washrooms near the breakfast area are FOUL. The wifi on the 3rd floor was spotty so if you chose to book here and that is important to you, request a different floor. There was only one worker on the evening that I checked in - Oriana - and she had to be everywhere, she was like superwoman. Getting towels for the pool area, delivering my plunger, furnishing extra cots, she did it all, and with a smile. It is one of the lower priced hotels in the area but I would have expected a certain minimum standard because it is a BW. Disappointed.

The walls were extremely thin and you could hear everything. It was clean, but the wifi didn't work. When we called down to ask about the wifi, they said that it "didn't reach" us. We were in the middle of the building on the 3rd floor, there's no reason that the wifi didn't reach us.

We stayed here and it is gross, our bathtub had a wad of hair in it and air conditioning leak and it was all over the floor. I took pics but have not way to post It has really gone downhill its a shame

Great rate, dog friendly and the breakfast had waffles!! Staff was very nice and the hotel I'm sure before Covid was a popular hot spot with a bar/club and restaurant on the main floor. I'd stay again if in Watertown.

This place is definitely over priced. There hasn't been a dime put into the building. Everything is falling apart. Staff don't care about anything. Rooms smell and are extremely dated. Breakfast is terrible and everything is dirty.

This hotel was a little run down and dated in the common areas, also a very weird layout with a few stairs up to the main floor rooms. The room (Room 145) itself was fairly clean and had a comfy bed. Our main complaint was the breakfast. They didn't have enough food and staff did not seem to be too worried about it. The hotel for what it is is way overpriced. Would try the Ramada (similar price point) next time.

I was only staying one night and this hotel could have been a little more tidy. Overall it was ok. The breakfast area could have been a bit more organized with all the employees walking around. No coffee is not a good thing for a hotel.

The toilet barely flushed and the tub was clogged. The room smelled terrible and the hallways even worse. Couldn't get any bottle water as the vending machine was broken and the rooms do not have water bottles available. Asked the front desk and they said “try the vending machine but it might not be working”

I grew up a couple blocks from here. This being said I knew the building was older but having stayed at many other best westerns and seeing pictures online I had high hopes for my stay here and thought the location would be extremely convenient. During my stay I had to switch rooms 2 times, staying in 3 rooms all together and all had problems. The worst being my bathroom ceiling leaking at midnight. Then being told I had to stay in that room not only the rest of the night but the next night as well until they could get me in my 3rd room. Until then at 7 am a plate was drilled to the ceiling and new towels were giving to me. Leaving paint dangling from the ceiling and my bathtub disgusting and not draining. The least being over hearing the house keepers talking in the hall about finding a dead rat in the laundry room! I communicated all my problems with the staff as they happened and at checkout, but when I asked for compensation I was told they would give me one night off because I did have "extremely bad luck" during my 6 night stay. Least to say I was disappointed with the compensation and the overall stay. Also I made the reservation weeks in advance so they had ample time to have one room clean and ready for me to stay.

Good Stay, clean room, comfortable bed, fast internet, TV was good. Overall, I would stay here again. I have stayed here in the past. One thing to note that it is an older property so if you are in a wheel chair or have trouble with climbing stairs, there could be problems getting to your room. The room that I had required me to climb stairs and lift my suitcase. It wasn't a problem for me but I am not disabled. It is away from most of the other hotels which are closer to Interstate 81.

We travelled from Canada to enjoy a couple of nights away. Everything was great - clean room, quiet. The complimentary breakfast was amazing - huge selection of hot and cold foods. The evening diner service was much appreciated, and again the food was outstanding. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return. Thanks Best Western for the great experience!

Clean, well appointed, great service - staff were fantastic, especially Erica in the breakfast room. Breakfast was not unique, but better tasting than most hotels and fresh. We will definitely be back!! Loved it.

This is a great hotel with a great location to downtown. The staff here are amazing. Everything was clean, sanitized, smelled good, and up to date. The manager is a gem. I am 100% going to stay here again.

Excellent service but also, based on advise I received from the hotel I traveled during a break in a major winter storm. The hotel snow removal contractor helped dig out my car so that I could travel. Excellent customer service.

I only have one complaint and that is the tv remote would not work after many trips down to the front desk to try to get help, in the end the problem was not solved. I would recommend better lighting in the parking lot, it is very dark.

Great place to stay while in Watertown and surrounding areas. Family friendly, great staff, pool, great breakfast to start your day. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and neat. Pool is perfect place to play with the kids or just go for a swim.

Our stay at this hotel was pleasant. The Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and everything was in working order. The breakfast was ok, not good.

The price of the hotel was good for what you It does need some updating but the rooms were clean and modern. The staff was great and the check in and out was fast. The hotel was about a 7 min drive to the heart of the shopping area in Watertown. All in all it was a good place to stay if you can get it at a good price or you need to be in the downtown area.

An area of historic Watertown. The room was very clean and the whole property was well maintained. The staff were very helpful with suggestions for dinner. Overall, a very nice and pleasant stay. We would recommend staying here.

We had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Watertown Fort Drum. Comfortable king size bed but needed a warm bedspread or blanket. Only problem was the room located next to the ice cube dispenser. The machine was extremely loud when used and one could hear it clearly if your room is located close to it. I didn't complain as it was only for a couple of nights. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff very kind. I have no doubt they work hard to set up the hot breakfast which begins at 6AM. One worker named Erica who we saw throughout the hotel at breakfast and I believe doing room housekeeping was probably the nicest, kindest hotel employee I have ever met. I've stayed in many hotels overseas and within North America. She goes above and beyond to be helpful and to wish us a pleasant stay. Always a smile and kind words. I would stay there again. Its a nice, reliable hotel. Whole family liked the stay. Kids had fun in swimming pool. Breakfast was decent. I managed to make a sweat in the gym. Area of the hotel was in a safe location. Staff were nice and pleasant.

This BW is an older hotel that has partial room renovations particularly in the bathrooms. Very clean. Big perk is the offering of a genuine 2 room suite to give you more space/privacy. Located in the heart of the downtown, there is quite a bit of traffic noise, and really no where you would walk to go to a restaurant or bar or cafe, especially at night. This greatly limits the benefits of putting up with the noise of a city. Staff were super efficient and caring throughout from front desk to breakfast room to maids.

Pros: Great location, staff were very friendly, overall stay was good. Breakfast was great, really enjoyed waffle maker. Cons: Hotel room needed better cleaning. Bathroom wall had yellow droplets (possibly pee), mattress, ottoman and carpet were stained. Ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night and had to go on a hunt for more, only had a quarter of a roll when we arrived. Hotel room needs to be upgraded, pool liner is separating.

Hadn't really been to downtown Watertown so we really enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are nice but a bit small for 3 people + 1 dog. The breakfast was good and it was nice to walk around the public square (1 block from hotel) but it was also quick and easy to get to Jefferson Community College and I-81.

Would not stay there again. Room was not made up for the duration of the stay. Instead housekeeping left a "ditty bag" with a few towels hanging on the doorknob. Trash was never emptied, no vacuuming, beds left untouched, dirty towels left in a pile, not what we expect when we pay for a premium room. Brought to the attention of the desk clerk, JoJo I believe, who is probably the snottiest desk clek I have ever met. She sternly counseled me on the fact that we just came out of a pandemic and staff was minimal and working very hard. She also indicated corporate was aware and condones these practices. I agree with another review about the slamming doors. All night long doors are slammed to point of waking us up. The free breakfast is worth every cent. A lot of the staff were very friendly, but we pay for a clean room and accomodations.

Hotel is big. Full breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausages and waffles (regular and blueberry) Staff was friendly. The pool was nice. Temperature was good enough to swim in. Free parking although the parking spots are small. Definitely a hotel I would recommend.

This is the 3rd time we've stayed here and never disappointed. Even during the dark days of COVID we were treated with respect and everything was tip top clean! This trip with grandchildren was exceptional. Pool time, and visiting Clayton for boat tour and making memories.

I have stayed at this property several times in the past 20 years or so. It is always hit & miss with the noise levels. During our final stay, there was a door that slammed throughout the night with enough force to rattle the headboard of the bed. I'm not sure if this was an interior or exterior door, but I lost count of the times we were woken in the night. Everything else about the hotel is okay. If you are a heavy sleeper it may not bother you.

Hotel is set way back from the road behind lovely trees so it was very quiet. Beds are comfortable and I am very picky. Baths are tiny but fine. Hotel is older but well kept. Breakfast wasn't worth the time.

Clean, comfy, great location ;) Breakfast is plentiful, staff is respectfully friendly. The resto/sports bar was shirt staffed on the night of our stay, but they welcomed us and food/service was great given the conditions. I have stayed there quite a cew times before, and I'll be coming back !

This was our third stay over the past few years. The rooms continue to be clean, well serviced and equipped, and quiet. Comfy beds and reliable A/C ensure a good sleep. Front lobby staff were quick and pleasant at check-in and departure. Great coffee in the lobby too. Wifi in our room was a bit unreliable. Breakfast was a disapointment. Bland scrambled eggs and stale muffins and pastries. Waffles on the other hand, were a nice offering. Tables were not being kept clean. We hgad top clean ours. Wish they could manage to get one Canadian channel on cable service. Will probably come back.

Everything was amazing, the people are all ready to help you and go out of their way for you.good size.good size room, very clean, everything was perfect.we can not wait to go back for a pleasure weekend, the swimming pool area is beautiful, clean and heated pool. Managed to get a room even though later in day and staff very courteous and friendly. The bonus at this Best Western is that it has a full restaurant and bar on site. No need to drive anywhere else. Although an older hotel, it is well cared for.

Very friendly staff. Hotel room are dark (dim lighting & dark decor) and dated (old peeling wall paper and water stained carpet. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well. The breakfast was free: The free breakfast was Ok. My only complaint would be the orange juice was too concentrated which made if very sweet.

Staff was TERRIFIC, Rooms were clean, pool and fitness area were very clean, complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious, always hot, n fresh, selection of milk juice and breakfast cereal is great for picky eaters. The local shopping malls are within a short drive, or you can walk around the local square

Do our research. My test strip from Leslie Pools store, showed very high, almost off the chart, chlorine level which equates to a very dirty pool. It's the opposite of what people usually think about clean pool water. Strong chlorine odor=dirty pool. Maintenance needs to learn how to properly treat the pool which is a positive draw to stay there. Otherwise it was okay except for sinks with very, very small surrounding area to place one's necessary items, the bed was in need of replacement with little support, the shampoo was nearly impossible to get out of the little container even by strong male, they were stingy with the towels in that we received only 1 or 2 hand towels and no replacement hand towels when we asked for new towels. It's okay if you have no use for the pool. The staff was nice. I was really afraid to have grandkids in the pool - didn't want allergic reactions or respiratory problems but they survived without apparent problems. Next time we'll try the Hilton. They use bromide for pool treatment which is supposed to be safer and less toxic. The chlorine odor was so strong that you could smell it as soon as you got out of the elevator on the 2nd floor which is where the pool is. I would not stay there again sorry to say.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It offered very good hot breakfast, clean and comfortable room. The Front desk staff was very friendly. Staff at breakfast time was excellent and extremely helpful. On next stay, I will definitely choose this hotel.

The staff is very helpful and it's close to downtown. The fitness center and swimming pool are in the same area, just great for kids. There is Breakfast in the morning, but for lunch and dinner you would have to eat out.

I've stayed at this hotel for many years but on my most recent stay I was very disappointed. Everything has gone downhill. Rooms are very dated; there were plumbing issues in my room, hot-cold shower was almost impossible to control and morning breakfast was limited with very few choices. No half and half for the coffee, limited fruit. Even the lock on the outside door wasn't working

Stayed here many times in the past and decided to do a return visit . Room was updated and very nice compared to earlier visits. The only disappointment was a restaurant that had a maybe open policy. We walked in and stood for a while and then left. Breakfast was excellent and very polite staff. Overall we would return again.

Excellent price, room was spotless, the pool was very well maintained and cleaned, the breakfast was amazing and the staff that worked the breakfast went above and beyond to help in anyway possible. It was overall a very good trip.

This hotel is an excellent choice in Watertown. Very close walking distance to downtown. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and go above and beyond with any requests such as taxis restaurants etc. The room rates are extremely reasonable. Good breakfast too.

My son and I were on a trip to the Thousand Islands and wanted to stay nearby the night before the boat ride. It was a great hotel experience. And the free breakfast was amazing. The man running the breakfast was terrific and the food choices were outstanding!

Great stay. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was ok but limited. Internet was not too good. My only problem was that the refrigerator was making loud noise at night and it was bouncing around cause the legs were uneven.

Arrived late, could not use elevator because lobby closed at that time, we walked up back stairs to 3rd floor.. no biggie for us, but may be for someone else. Hallway musky and not very clean looking. Room was fine, on wall thermostat plus very comfy beds and pillows. Pool was nice, warm. Breakfast was slim pickins and hotel ran out of coffee, lol. Small street Fair/market right across the street in the AM. So if a good night sleep and swim (no hot tub) is what you need, and you're arriving at a decent hour, breakfast not that important, this is a nice place.

Our experience was amazing! We didn't want it to end. We slept like absolute babies. The room and service was amazing and everyone made us feel as if we were their family! THANK YOU BEST WESTERN! You rock!

I have stayed there the last few years and while this hotel is dated everything was fine. Last year when I arrived the room I had requested three weeks prior to my arrival was not available for me. No explanation as to why my reservation was not honored. The on shift manager told me when I was checking out to contact her personally when I was coming back and she would make sure I get what I requested. This year I made a reservation for October I requested a suit on the third floor. I am going to be staying 6 nights and wanted all the noise below me. I attempted to contact the manager to explain what happened last year and see if I could get some assurances for this year. I left a message with the front desk on 7/15 at 12:10 PM. They said she was in a meeting ?? but would call me right back. today is Friday the 16th @ 3:00 PM and I have not heard from her. This hotel just blew me off again. I guess i just need to find different accommodations.

Very clean rooms, safe area of town. Grab & go breakfast made it convenient, fast & easy. Wonderful staff! You can tell that management & their employees care. It made such a difference in our experience!

Upon arrival the young girl at the front desk was rude. She wasn't very friendly and rushed through the process of check in. The hallways smelled like wet dog. The room itself was ok. It wasn't cleaned very well. There was garbage left on the desk and a chair. The bathroom was dirty/dusty and had boogers on the wall. On a positive the young girl at check out was very nice!

a beautiful hotel, in the heart of Watertown. excellent parking and very clean. The bed firmness and the pillows lacked something to be desired, but overall not bad for a single overnight. less than 15 minutes from Sacketts Harbor (our actual destination) and right around the corner from anything we could want/need.

We were left without a room at 8 pm, with a pet and 9 hours from home. Best Western to the rescue. The night clerk Michael Brown managed to switch things so we didn't need to climb stairs. (Disabled Vet and disabled spouse) they (Like so many businesses were full and short staffed, ) got us whatever we needed. Our room was clean, large, comfortable bedding and with coffee. Microwave and refrigerator. Didn't get to the pool or workout room but they were nice. I was a bit under the weather but the restaurant was enjoyed by my husband and they sent up a tummy friendly dinner for me. Basically we were having a Murphy's Law trip, but happened upon a nice place to stay at a decent price, with good people working there. I won't bother looking for a different place on our next visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel is in the heart of historic Watertown. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. The room was spotless and spacious with a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was a bit small but the layout was such that everything was in the right place for efficiency of use. There was plenty of hot water for showers and fluffy towels. Plenty of plugs at bedside and on the desk for electronics charging. The staff were very pleasant and gave us suggestions for dinner and our nightly walk. Parking was plentiful behind the hotel. We were glad we stayed here instead of the tourist trappy Alexandria Bay near the 1,000 Islands. It wasn't that long of a drive and Watertown offered nice restaurants, walking trails and beautiful views of the Black River.

Customer service is great. I have stayed at this hotel for business travel over the years. It was great to stay for a family visit now too. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others when the opportunity arises.

My son and I enjoyed our stay very much. We were able to reserve pool times and order take out right to our door! The air conditioner made our nights so cold- which we love to sleep in! The pillows and bed were also very comfortable and clean!

Really enjoyed an overnight stay here while visiting my husband in the hospital. Also needed internet service to be able to work from the hotel and the connection was great. Appreciated the accommodations made for Covid such as requiring appointments to limit the number of guests in the pool area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had my daughters party here.. room was clean lady at front desk was amazing!!! The fridge smelled bad when I got there but they fixed it quick..only problem I had was the strong marijuana smell in basically the whole 2nd floor and some of the 1st..if you have a no smoking policy you should probably make sure you enforce it better .

The staff was accommodating and pleasant. I was greeted quickly each time I passed through the lobby and at the front desk. The room was clean and everything was in good working order. I felt safe throughout my visit despite the COVID-19 threat.

We have been going on our yearly shopping trip for 20 years and Best Western Watertown is the only place we will ever stay. The rooms are very clean. The staff is always courteous and so accommodating. The location is perfect for shopping and restaurants.

I've been staying at this hotel for many years now and I've always been satisfied with the service and cleanliness of the hotel. The current manager (Killy) has improved the total experience at the Hotel a lot.She's a real asset to Best Western.

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western in Watertown this past Saturday. My parents have a cabin about a half hour from Watertown. We went up for Saturday and Sunday for Labor Day weekend. We didn't talk about sleeping arrangements until late that night. When we realized that my parents were planning to sleep on the floor because of space we decided to get a hotel room so everyone at the cabin could have a bed. The drive home is about 3 hours and it was already late. We have stayed in Watertown a few times while visiting, but it's usually planned in advance and we have not used the Best Western before. We arrived at the hotel, I think, around 11:15. My husband ran in to see if there was availability. He said the employee working said they had a room with two double beds, but no kings. That was not a problem and we understood because it was late notice. After we checked in the employee who checked us in let us know that there was a wedding party staying at the hotel and to let her know if it was loud and she would say something to them. She asked if the third floor was ok and we said yes. We weren't sure why she asked at the time, but hindsight we think it was because this was where the wedding party was staying. I also think it was a wedding party AND wedding guests staying at the hotel (so a lot more people). We were assigned to room 350 and we got up there around 11:30 I think. The room next door was very loud when we walked in to our room. There was a man laughing loudly and yelling across the room to a woman. We seemed to be in the middle of rooms for people associated with the wedding because people started going between rooms and slamming doors. We gave it until midnight before my husband called down to the front desk. The room next door continued to yell and the headboards in our room were against that shared wall. The employee who answered (I think it was the same woman helping us) said she would walk through the hallway and check things out. She called back a minute later and I answered the phone. She asked if we would want to change rooms to a king on the first floor. This seemed weird because my husband was told there were no kings. We agreed to move to room 133. The guests around the new room were fine, but this room is directly across from the ice machine and right next to the main lobby. The ice machine was loud all night and louder whenever anyone used it. The staff working in the main lobby were not quiet. Sound also seemed to echo quite a bit in the lobby, but there was not an attempt to speak in a normal indoor voice by the staff. The morning crew was the worst. I'm not sure if the doors at this hotel don't have the stoppers to prevent doors slamming, but I swear we heard every door in the hotel slam overnight. Between the slamming doors, ice machine and volume of the lobby we did not sleep. The walls seemed very thin at this hotel too. We heard every word of every guest that walked by… kids screaming, a few dogs barking, etc. We live in a city so normal city noise does not bother us, but there was really none of that. The employee who checked us in seemed to know where wedding guests were staying. I really wish she had recognized that the first room was not in a good area because of the wedding and told us there was no availability. We would have just gone somewhere else. We got no sleep and would have been better off on the cabin floor or in our car. The beds were comfortable and the rooms seemed relatively clean just outdated. The staff was pleasant. The second room we were in was not in as good shape as the first. The laminate on the furniture was bubbling up, the room was older. The stairwells were not clean. (On another note, as the employee who checked us in was running my credit card, another employee walked up to the desk with her mask only covering her nose. She was a petite blond wearing pink. I figured it slipped and she would fix it. She went into the back and came back out with the mask not covering her nose or mouth this time. I would be really surprised if she was not aware she was doing this. If I had seen this before my credit card was run, I would have considered going somewhere else). We enjoyed the services at the hotel. The staff was welcoming and friendly and helpful. The grab and go breakfast was more that adequate, given Covid restrictions. The building's stairwells between floors could have been cleaner. The beds were very comfortable.

The front door to the hotel is accessible from the main street, but the parking is around the back down a side street. There was no ground level entrance to this hotel from the parking lot. We followed the sign to the entrance and had to drag our luggage up 5 or 6 steps. Asked for a 1st floor room only to then learn we had to drag our luggage up another 5 or 6 steps. My room observations: 1) the beds were surprisingly comfortable, 2) the bath towels were skimpy, 3) instead of a round table that my son and I could sit together at, there was a desk with one chair, and 4) my son complained to me about a lack of accessible outlets for him to plug his laptop into. Due to the covid-19 virus, breakfast was skimpy, but much better than nothing. The room was quite inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Arrived at the Hotel with my husbands little therapy dog. We booked a dog friendly room. I did not know what to expect in regards to cleanliness and odor with this type of room. What a wonderful surprise..... exceptionally clean and completely dog smell free. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Friendly helpful staff. I have no complaints whatsoever.

We stayed there two nights while visiting the area. All major attractions are within driving distance. Close to downtown with many restaurants within short walking distance. Rooms were adequately sized although somewhat outdated. Staff was friendly. Pet friendly hotel with good facilities for pets.

I liked everything about Hotel. The General Manager was very helpful and competent. The manager did everything she could to make my stay a good one. She conducted the business of the hotel in a very safe manner during the Covid 19 crisis .

We stay here a few times throughout the year. Rooms are always clean and staff always friendly. I have to say the highlight of our stay is definitely Luis!! He is very accommodating and if your lucky he may just treat the breakfast group to a song. Definitely missing you all as we were to be travelling there next week, but with the virus we will be staying home. Until the next time BW Fort Drum!!

This is an older downtown hotel that has been updated and is well maintained. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. But it is the staff that stand out. While we only stayed one night, everyone we encountered were friendly, efficient and professional. They provided a truly exceptional and memorable experience. Thank you

We got checked in quickly even though on the internet we needed principio but we had our confirmation number do they quickly fixed our problem and they got us to our room and we enjoyed and relaxed the rest

We like the location do we stay every year. The hotel has some areas of disrepair. The elevator was broken twice during our stay. Also the cleaners were arguing in the hallway and our room never got cleaned.

I stayed here just because of the indoor pool so my kids could have fun. Let me tell you the room right next door sounds like they are haveinh a party. Loud music and yelling. They came and knocked on the door once never followed through it's 12:20 am and I still have not been able to go to sleep. Horrible

This is located right in Watertown. I would give it five stars because rooms are nice. The rooms and hotel itself were clean. Breakfast is pretty good.The pool temperature was perfect. The only thing holding back the 5th star is the COFFEE it is the worst I have ever had at a hotel in fact worst ever anywhere I have ever had coffee.

Great location close to downtown Watertown. Hotel is clean, staff are friendly, and everything in the rooms work. I especially love the guy who runs weekend breakfast service! This is the only place I will stay anytime I visit Watertown.

We arrived in the middle of a blizzard, on our way back to Canada after a long flight to Syracuse ... A laid back, yet quite intellectual young man by the name of Chris met us upon our arrival... We were on the hunt for Pay-per-View to witness the latest UFC clash! Chris allowed us to call every hotel in the entire city, but to no avail, so we decided to stay put at Best Western... Chris set us up with Best Western Rewards and even a discount for existing as a Canadian... Good man, Chris!!! From the ice machine, to the vending machine, to the beautiful view from our third story window, to Chris' winning attitude, this was the greatest hotel experience I've ever had and I will most definitely be staying at Best Western again (all thanks to Chris)!

As always it was AWESOME from beginning to end. Awesome staff price cleanliness and accomodations . The staff is ALWAYS polite and helpful . It is like our home away from home and the staff is like our extended family. We ALWAYS enjoy going there and look forward to it every time.

Check-in and out was seamless. We stayed in a King Suite (room 155). The room layout was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The condition of the suite was shocking. Rug was so disgusting dirty. Sink was cracked. Drapes were falling off the window frames. Side chair was ripped. Couch smelt like urine. Had to remove toilet paper holder to actually sit on the toilet. Jacuzzi tub was DISGUSTING (turned it on and black chunks filled the tub) There should NOT be a vanity in the tub area. This corner suite was EXTREME noisy (I reported to from desk). Guests slammed door all night, to the point it shook the bed/couch/tv stand. We could hear them speaking through the walls and being a corner suite, the street traffic was crazy. The breakfast area was clean and well maintained. Standard breakfast foods. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. POOL CLOSED DUE TO MAINTENANCE during our stay. No discounts or compensation for a crappy weekend was offered to us.

My husband and I decided to travel to the North Country with my Service Dog for our Christmas holiday. We had visited a motel in Calcium on a previous visit but it has changed hands and their site says they no longer accept animals. I was thrilled to find the Best Western Watertown/Ft. Drum, and reserved a “Pet Friendly - Non Smoking King Room”. I let them know about my Service Dog and received a lovely welcoming letter confirming the booking for my family and acknowledgment of my service dog. Upon arrival, after an 8 hour drive, the desk attendants were so friendly and accommodating, getting me a key and getting us checked in! The only issue I had was my room was #4-80, which I had confusion in locating, as I thought #4 would be the top floor but it was actually the ground floor! (Whoops!) The guys at the desk quickly pointed me in the right direction! Our room was on a completely pet friendly floor, making me and my dog very comfortable! The room was lovely, clean, homey and spacious. I read reviews of “bad” pillows, so I brought my pillows from home but didn't need them, as the hotel pillows are small but are actually very comfortable! The bed was supportive and the linen was clean and soft. The room came with only two towels ( I'm a towel hog and use one for my hair and one for my body) and a quick call to the two heroes at the front desk quickly brought a staff member with extra towels in a flash. Because of having my service animal, I didn't ask for room service every day. I don't mind helping with housekeeping, anyway. Our assigned cleaner was Pam, but I was “adopted” by the most awesome and accommodating housekeeper, Tina. She checked on us twice EVERY day. On the days we did have cleaning (snow treatment salt was dirtying our entry despite cleaning feet and paws regularly) she came in and freshened things up like we hadn't been there! Tina deserves kudos and a raise! Breakfast was amazing and yes, the reviews are spot on, Luis is a treasure! He is so welcoming , friendly and keeps the breakfast area spotless and full of great food. If I hit the lottery, I'd ask him to come cook for me!!! The hall was very clean and easily accessible to the parking lot. A dog station was outside the door, so nice to have handy bags and a can for disposal of Gidget's waste! If I had to find something that I'd change it would be the closer on my door! It was super squeaky and if I had to take Gidget out at night, I felt like I was climbing out of a crypt and waking the whole hall!! I love everything about the people I met, their awesome service and the accommodations!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. We will definitely visit again!!

Great motel and the service was excellent, from check in to check out. The motel was clean especially my room. The breakfast was good and the attendent Luis was a thoughful and diligent in making sure I had anything I needed. As Luis let me know that if I needed anything let him know he handed me a Christmas card. This thoughtfulness left me with an indelible impression. I will be a returning customer.

The hotel was one I grew up with when it was a Holiday Inn, it had changed over the past 20 years as the interior lobby was nice and the board rooms to the restaurant was decorated well for the holidays the room was a little less than clean and as I was flying solo I didn't really feel like complaining, the bathroom was not cleaned completely as well as the floors, the heater worked well and fan but the filters were full and made me congested till I cleaned them out.

This hotel was a great deal but now we understand why. It was a room from the 1960's or an old military barracks and is in desperate need of an update or refurbishment. While the welcome cookies were nice, it couldn't mask the ancient decor.

Always pleasantly surprised with this older hotel and the quality and cleanliness of the facility. Priced very low for a nice hotel with attached restaurant and Restaurant/Bar. The gentleman attendant working at the breakfast is quite a breathe of fresh air. Great upbeat personality and goes above and beyond to guest. If you stay here I advise to drop this hardworking individual a tip when you attend breakfast because he deserves the bonus. Stay here and you will see.

We spent last weekend at this location and once again we were pleased we did so, our expectations were fulfilled, as always... have never been disappointed. The staff at the check in counter were friendly and very helpful, the room staff were very attentive. Breakfast on the weekend was great, lots of assortment. Most of all the person looking after the breakfast area "Luis" is a very special guy, always friendly and attentive. My wife on Saturday morning mentioned to him his "special breakfast casserole was missing. Luis promised her Sunday morning he would comply, and he didn't. He greats everyone, and has been known to sing a few tunes. Christmas time he gives everyone a card with his personal greeting. Luis as well as the other staff are a definite asset to this establishment

Of all the hotels ive stayed in, this one was by far the worst. Which was disappointing since ive never had a bad experience with a Best Western. We thought this was a safe bet on a good hotel. We chose it because it was pet friendly and a little cheaper than out other choice. Bad mistake. The guy who checked us in wasnt personable in the least, and was kind of rude to another lady who came in to visit someone and asked where parking was. I brushed it off as maybe he was overwhelmed or whatever. We get to the room and the beds were rock hard, the one pillow was hard, and another pillow was clearly a decorative pillow that they put in a full size pillow case hoping we wouldnt notice. The noise was ridiculous. All we could hear all night was the neighboring rooms yelling and the door sounded like a creaky castle door every time it was opened..and as we were in the pet hallway, that was a lot. I showered and as i started drying off, i noticed small black hairs kn my arm from the towel. Like someones pet layed on it, or someone shaved on it and it wasnt washed. When i checked out, the guy at the desk was nicer than the other one but still seemed uninterested in what was actually wrong and offered extra points seemingly in a way to make me happy enough so i left. Never again will i be staying at this hotel. Also, they dont provide conditioner for your shower.

the hotel is equipped with a work out room just off the heated Pool. No Hot Tub or Spa but the pool was great and no load echoing in the pool area like most hotel. Great Hot Buffet Breakfast in a clean spacious room.

This hotel is very handy to the cross-border shoppers from Canada. The price is good, the distance to the shops is minimal, the restaurant/bar has good, well-priced food, all the staff are friendly, etc. I can't think of anything that would improve the experience.

Room was not clean, stains in carpet, bathroom tub was in need of a good cleaning or replacement. The mattress was so old it was cupped in the center and very uncomfortable. Will not stay here again.Used to be a good place to come for a night while shopping in watertown but @ 100 / night for that.....NO way!

The hotel is located in the historical part of town within walking distance of local shops, restaurants and an American Legion. Request a room facing the back (noise from morning traffic on the busy street). Watertown is a good place for a short get-away, cross border shopping trip, or stop-over. Private parking.

We were staying at the hotel while in town for a hockey tournament with our 13 & 14 year old boys. The staff was so great from check-in to check-out. The breakfast host was so friendly & entertaining as he sang while worked. The chef threw together a last minute buffet supper for all of us after a long day at the arena. We all left this weekend feeling like we got great rates & exceptional service.

We came to the Best Western for my daughter's birthday. We had five 7 year olds, myself and my husband and my son and his friend. We were able to request adjoining rooms which worked out perfectly! The pool room was great, it didn't echo at all like most hotel pool rooms do when there's a bunch of kids in there. We chose this hotel because the price was great, we wanted a pool and having a restaurant/lounge right on site was great!! The free breakfast really exceeded our expectations. There were so many food choices! Will definitely be coming back for future parties and events!

Great place for a weekend in the heart of Watertown. Reasonable rates with a hot breakfast included. Has a lounge/restaurant with good food. We have returned here with friends many times for a get together and shopping. Rooms are clean and connecting rooms are available.

When we checked in we were very pleasantly received by the front desk person who switched to a non pet room. As well she recommended a nice dinner reco The Savory. The wait person at breakfast was vg.

Great place to stay in center of town. Rooms were clean and easy access to everything around. When I return that will be the only I would stay again , no need to look elsewhere . Hotel was near everything that was of importance.

I always look for a Best Western because of their indoor pool and complimentary breakfast. I go to Watertown to visit my 2 grandsons who are currently 8&10. We have great fun playing in the pool. This is a real treat for all of us. The bathrooms at the pool area are closed and locked due to dis- repair as told to me by an employee. What a GREAT inconvenience! We all had to leave the pool area and go to our room 1 floor down in wet suits so one person could go to the bathroom. If the restrooms were open in the pool area, we could have all stayed there. Also, at 10:00 AM when we went to the pool, maintenance had to open the doors with the master key to let us in. There were no towels. Staff did bring towels at my request. The pool room tile was black with mold. All under the rubber mats was mold. The pool area has been greatly ignored. The pool had a green ring around the water edge. Our room had not been dusted. I requested a dust cloth from housekeeping, and they provided me one. The dust on top of the bed headboards had not been touched in a long time. I was shocked at the thickness of the dust. The cabinet where the refrigerator was in, was very thick of dust also. The door to the room stuck and you had to body push it to open it. I believe that there was turn over of staffing, as it felt as though it had gone down hill since the last time I stayed there.

Not far from 1000 Island and the Canadien boarder this is a nice hotel to stay overnight. Nearby shopping center and resturants.. Free parking and breakfast indoor pool and fitness center. in house resturant. We stay 1 night in a 2 dbl. bed room in room ref. micro and coffee maker.. The hotel is quite worn out but all furniture were in fair condition. efficient front desk stuff.

This is a decent hotel with an optimal price . It is conveniently located in the heart of watertown city. Hotel staff was friendly and also provided crib for our infant. Would recommend it to someone on budget and looking for a clean decent stay.

We stayed at BW Watertown for a two night leisure trip. Everyone we encountered was more than helpful, friendly and professional. This BW offers a free FULL breakfast with a waffle station, eggs, meats, etc. What a plus with the bargain prices. There is a heated indoor pool, 24 hour coffee station at the front desk, and a restaurant/bar, which we did not have the chance to try. We stayed in a King Suite, it was clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Being in the North Country, it was nice to find a warm extra blanket in the closet when we got chilly in the night. Will definitely be staying here again.

I loved that this hotel was actually in a large old inn downtown. The front desk and area were very nice and quaint. The room was pretty and clean with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was good, and the man who was attending it was very personable and helpful!

I had a good time at the Best Western in Watertown. The only problems I noticed were that the door was hard to open and the walls were very thin. Everything else was fine. I would definitely recommend this hotel over the others in the area.

I honestly can't say enough about how incredibly helpful and supportive the staff at this hotel have been for us. We were there due to a family emergency that just kept getting more and more complicated, and honestly the staff here was often the only bright spot in my day. I've read about the sort of service that I experienced in those feel-good news stories but never witnessed it myself. It wasn't just one or two employees, either. It was everyone! Every single person at the desk, the supervisors, the manager, the housekeeping staff, the maintenance workers, the guy who made breakfast! This place is not new and shiny, the main areas look like it, but the rooms show signs of age and can have issues but honestly the staff more than make up for that to me. If you let them know that you have a problem they will do everything in their power to fix it. I cannot possibly recommend them enough, these people deserve a medal.

As always a great time when we come here. The staff is very friendly and helpful and are a pleasure to talk to. Place is very clean inside and out and appearance of building is excellent. Breakfast is always a fun time as the cook treats you like family and is funny. We always pick this place when we come here to visit, it's like our second home.

Parking was inconvenient and the layout of the rooms and facilities was strange. Staff were very efficient and friendly, but the location was some distance from shopping. Would prefer to have a newer hotel closer to I 81.

Stayed 2 nights, 2 different rooms and both had toilets that were too close to the sink. 2nd night we were upgraded to a suite and the washroom was so tiny that you couldn't close the door and sink was so close that you didn';t have to even stand up to wash your hands.

Located in downtown Watertown a half hour south of the border and Alexandria bay NY lobby was nice friendly staff. Pretty busy our room was clean and comfy two double beds bathroom a little small but clean and efficient fridge and microwave a/c worked great . No complaints pool and breakfast were good but both extremely busy two parking lots. Lots of spots available good wifi . Area was nice walked to public square 5 minute walk to check it out bars and restaurants most seem to close early some late but nice little town to see. We were in the area visiting Boldt Castle. Mall 10 minutes away would return. Overall good

After the first night I had bug bites all over my body, the bathroom wall back of the toilet was disgusting. Try to go to the desk to explain the situation, the F/D supervisor or manager was arguing with an other guest so I gave up.

While traveling with our dog this hotel was one of our many stops on our road trip. Pet rooms are in the basement. The room was very nice the only thing missing was a ramp. Our pet has issues with stairs and the elevator was not working at the time. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Location is perfect to walk around and explore. We ate in the restaurant in the hotel. It was ok. After driving many hours it was nice to not get back in the car to get dinner. The breakfast was outstanding! Everything clean and well prepared. Kudos to the man in charge- keep up the good work!

Our room was available for an early check-in which was nice. Room was clean. Towels in the bathroom were spare, but additional were provided upon request. Rooms facing the street can be a little noisy. The included breakfast was set up in a meeting room. It was okay - but the flow as a little awkward. The room was huge so things could have been spread out a little to ease congestion around the toaster. The fitness center was rather disappointing. There was some basic equipment (treadmill, elliptical, recumbent bike and weights) but no way to clean the equipment before using it. I dipped some paper towels in the adjacent pool to clean the equipment. The water bottle was empty in the fitness room. So - if you want to get some exercise while at this hotel I recommend going out for a walk. The city is very walkable - sidewalks on all the nearby streets. One other note - the hotel seems to be minimally ADA accessible. Check before you go with the hotel for any accessibility needs.

Stayed here for work travel in August 2019. Wanted to stay walking distance from downtown Watertown, as the other hotels are all located near the highway with no walkability. Was not disappointed! Hotel is older, but has been updated and is clean and comfortable. Bathroom, bed, TV, fridge, HVAC- everything was just as nice as a newer, comparable hotel. The nice thing is it is just blocks from restaurants and city center. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

many issues...paid $252.53 (expedia points...friends paid $99 US) for king size bed. No room phone, line disconnected so unable to use a phone in rm 354 even if there was one....shower handle was broken, had to use facecloth to turn handle...vent above toilet not clean since?, crap falls on you when need to use the seat. Checked in at 4:30 pm...had to wait 30 min. for a room to be ready. First time ever reviewed a hotel...beware people,nobody gives a damn at this location. Breakfast the only thing would give a good rating on.

When we go through Watertown New York we always stay at this Best Western. Excellent rooms and close to everything. The only complaint I had was they check in was no pleasant, they made us sit for a half an hour before they would check us in at 3pm exact. The breakfast is awesome.

Stayed here en route to heading to Syracuse. The check in was very pleasant and had fresh cookies to eat! The room was near the pool and ice machine.The room was comfortable and the WIFI was ok. The pool was actually at a decent temperature ..usually hotel pools are cold! The breakfast was ok, waffles, breads, pastries, etc. Nothing crazy but the attendant was great and very friendly. The hotel is located in downtown Watertown so it was very nice and quiet. Lots of parking in the back. Overall, I'd stay there again!

My boy friend and I live in two different cities and had been extremely busy so weren't able to have our normal 1-2 week visit when we decided to stay for the night. The night started off well and we were so happy to see each other. This lasted until approximately 3:00am when we were awoken by a group of other guests coming back to their room. They continued partying loudly until about 5:00am, when they decided to kick 3veryone out and have extremely loud intercourse. After our small amount of sleep, but before getting on the road (I drove 2hrs and my boyfriend 4hrs to be there, then again to get home), we went down to our complimentary breakfast, which again start ok, that was until we saw there was very little food and when I asked their cook a question. He replied extremely rudely. During checkout, I brought this all up to the person behind the desk. My story caught the attention of the manager who wonderfully gave me her card, apologized and told me to give her a call next time we come through town and she would comp us a room for our inconveniences. Fast forward to this week. Last friday I sent her an email, as we were hoping to meet up this weekend. I got no reply, so I gave it until Monday before I called. During my first call, I found out that the manager no longer works there, which happens, so I asked to speak to another manager. The manager on duty was no where that made her available to speak to me. So, the gentleman I spoke with took my information and assured me, I would receive a call back. I waited about 6hrs, then called again. I spoke with another gentleman, had to repeat our issue again, and again he manager was "not available" & I was assured she would call me. Come Tuesday late afternoon, I had heard nothing, so I called back a 3rd time. The gentleman I spoke with apologized, said the manager was not available again, told me they had no rooms for Friday night anyways and that the manager would definitely call me back. Once getting off the phone with him, I checked their website and low and behold, they have plenty rooms available. So, long story short, weve had to deal with a late night party, then loud intercourse, then being ignored and lied to. I understand people have bad days and can screw up, but this is just ridiculous. Was more than willing to give them a second chance, but now? I honestly don't even know what to say....smh

stairwell, had to use, because elevator sign stated "runs slow, may want to take the stairs" ?? stairwell smelled of feet and urine....and who knows what else. later in the evening some scent was introduced into the stairwell to mask the oder.....it only added an additional oder into the mix.

My stay was very comfortable, the staff was beyond pleasant, the place is very clean I would definitely recommend anybody to stay here. The pool was nice and relaxing, you can use door dash and have food delivered! All in all an amazing experience for my first time visiting

Stayed here on route to Syracuse for a concert. Check in was very pleasant with fresh cookies! My room was on the second floor near the pool and elevator. The room was very clean. Had a chance to swim in the pool. The temperature was fine, very shallow, perfect for kids! No hot tub though. The breakfast was good. It was waffles, breads, pastries and cereals, nothing too fancy. The attendant was great and very pleasant. Overall nice place to stay if you are hitting the Watertown/Syracuse area. There was mention of construction or renovation however I didn't hear anything.

Pets are welcome, staff is friendly and the hotel is easy to find off I-81. Decent free breakfast. Lots of shopping nearby. Walking distance to historical site and local library. Updating bottom floor now.

Fun place to stay. Our venue was right around the corner. Very accommodating for our large group. The pool room was hotter then hell. The pool felt like a a hot tub and the pool area felt like a sauna.

The absolute best reason to stay in this hotel is to experience the breakfast buffet. Luis runs the buffet and is hands down the best employee in this establishment. Great food with a great personality to match! The rooms are ok....this is an older building that is maintained to I would say the minimum required standard. I would stay away from the elevator since my husband and another guest got stuck (separate times, but right after each other). There is a pool but no hot tub. Fitness center is pretty much what you would expect. And all the doors seem to stick pretty bad. Still worth the stay for the amazing breakfast and to see Luis!

Never would have stayed here if I had realized it was downtown in old area of Watertown. My room did not have safety rails so the front desk moved us into a suite. There was a huge sticky dirty stain just in front of the desk..... yuk. When I pulled up the shades/curtains discovered that the window sills were filthy..hadn't been wiped in this century. Very long way from the modern stores, kohls, walmart, target etc. etc. My husband fell getting up from the toilet and fell into the bathtub. I couldn;t get him up. Called the front desk and got no answer !!!! Tried later and a lady answered and said she had to step away from the front desk. I asked her to send someone up to assist me. She said there was no one there except her.... no one..... so she came up to our room and assisted me in getting him out of the tub. I tried to change the roll of toilet paper and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. At breakfast they ran out of paper plates...... can you believe it and were using some from Dominos pizza.......The oranges had black marks on them...... bad.......The cook/wait person had some loud loud mexican music that blared in the restaurant....The breakfast was in their dining room which was very well appointed. Orange juice was all water.... guess it ran out. Not a great experience.... will not be back. ever.

Family wedding. Nephew stationed at Ft Drum. Pricey to add a night last minute despite already booking rooms in advance. 1st floor was very noisy and the AC unit was also making odd noises which interrupted my sleep. Overall the amenities in the rooms were great (microwave refrigerator and coffee pot) and the rooms were clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Hotel is old but its very clean and great pool and breakfast area. Lots of parking. Rooms are ok size beds arent to bad. Front desk is fadt to check you in and out. They bake cookies for guest on Mons to Thursdays which is a nice treat.

Room was dirty hallway smelled bad needs major renovations floor was not cleaned bed sheets were old and worn. Felt very uncomfortable staying there. This best western needs to be updated completely to be competitive with the rest of the franchise

I stayed at the Best Western and it was wonderful! The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were even softer. I would definitely stay here again. The staff was also extremely nice and helpful.

This hotel is under construction (thankfully, because the rooms need an update). Pool is very nice, breakfast was typical fare for free. Make your own waffle, bread assortment, eggs. This hotel is downtown so the usual siren, traffic noise can be heard. The water pressure is not great and struggles to reach the 3rd floor

We opted for this hotel as something new in Watertown. We got a renovated room that was clean and quiet. The room had all the amenities needed for a weekend shopping trip & the hotel had plenty of free parking - We explored to find the breakfast which was standard US free hotel breakfast yet filling. The pool was also nice, warm & clean. Hotel is located downtown & close to many historic homes; nice for an after dinner stroll -

Sorry folks, This place is just ok. Upon check in I did not find great staff....just adequate. The young man that checked us in had like zip personality and was not overwhelmingly welcoming as stated in other reviews. Cleanliness was not great also as stated in previous reviews as we found an unidentified brown piece of something in the corner. Could've been a brownie piece....maybe not....2 waterbottles and an old sock were also found upon arrival. Also the air conditioning was not working that night but maintenance did repair it the next day. The place looks tired as wallpaper is loosening in all areas. Its definitely old but can easily be spruced up with better colors and rug replacements. It has the smell of an old apartment building. The beds were ok, bathrooms were nice except for a broken shower knob. The pool is the warmest I have experienced and the area very clean. Breakfast is not that great and set in a very depressing drab atmosphere. With a renovation in ALL areas it could be better. We were told to eat in the restaurant / bar, but upon arriving to a very noisy bar with some shady characters I opted not to bring my family there. The place was not the best, but they try. I am a Hilton guy so I am a bit picky, but this Best western needs work. A great BW example is the one in Liverpool NY that is a fantastic hotel. This one needs a bit more TLC.

I definitely agree with other reviewers that this BW needs (and deserves!) a face lift but the staff are absolutely wonderful! Kili made us feel welcome right away with her warm and friendly personality upon check in. A HUGE shout out to Luis - we didn't realize that breakfast ends during the week at 9:30am (we strolled in just after) and turned to leave when Luis told us to hold on! He ran to the back and brought us two huge containers of delicious eggs, sausage, pastries, bagels, cream cheese etc and told us to sit down and enjoy! He had great music playing and made us feel so welcome and at home (as if we were at a friend's house) It's wonderful people like this that make you truly enjoy a trip and I hope Best Western realizes how lucky they are to have employees like this! We will be returning to this location for the staff alone!

Words cannot express the level of commitment the staff has, it is a great place to stay! I have stayed there several times over three years and never had a complaint. It is truly a great place to stay.

This was my last stop before Canada and I decided to stay at the Best Western due to their location and very affordable rates. I'm not sure how I feel about this hotel. Service: The check in staff were extremely friendly, even while one persons computer was glitching they poked fun at each other and we all conversed. The gentleman beside me and myself both just completed the same - long - trip. I was given room 147, which is down the hall to the left of the lobby. Room: The room was very large (compared to the Micro Microtel room I had the night before) and clean. It comes with a large fridge, coffee maker, TV, small chair and desk. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean with great water pressure. If I have one complaint, it would be to spend some money on the exterior and get yourself some new windows. Every loud car that went by (and for some reason everyone in Watertown has a loud car) could be heard loud and clear. I had to turn on the AC / Heat unit on constant fan to down out the outside noise. Also, perhaps I missed it, but I couldn't seem to locate an in-room safe. Property: This is where I was thrown off. The pictures clean this place up *really* well. To me, this seemed like it's a queen that has perhaps passed her time in the sun and needs some funding. Best Western. She needs a face lift. The interior and exterior are clearly older and in need of some TLC. First priority, sound proof windows. Second priority, update the lobby and clean the carpets. Breakfast: This hotel has a very large and very good breakfast. The standard juices, coffees, eggs (that are actually cooked), squished up Omelettes (I was confused), along with breads, cereals, etc. The staff were very friendly (I didn't actually eat, but while looking they greeted me, asked how my morning was) which was appreciated. Walking out, an employee talking to another person in the hallway stepped back, said hello, wished me a great day, and went on with his conversation. The staff here clearly care about their work. So, aside from aesthetics, this was a great stay! :)

We went out of our way to stay here because some where I read this was a 3 star hotel. I wouldn't give it more than one star. Don't get me wrong, it's clean but the room we had was very small. The bathroom is so small that it's hard to turn around while drying off from the show. The gal at the desk was very nice but she can't change what she doesn't own.

This BW is located in the heart of downtown Watertown. Just a short drive to the main shopping area if that's what you're after. Otherwise, downtown is a beautiful with everything to offer from cute shops and restaurants to entertainment and lots of parking. The hotel needs a little work but was fine for a couple of days with lots of amenities and an awesome breakfast host.

We did not actually get to stay at this Hotel. On the day of our travels we needed to cancel our plans for emergeny surgery. We tried calling the Hotel several times before lunch but there was no answer. We contacted our booking agent (we had paid in advance) and they managed to speak to the Hotel on our behalf. After explaing our situation and our agreeing to pay an additional $60.00 fee to try to move the date this Hotel Management refused to consider our request. I would suggest travelers not book with this group unless you are standing in the lobby!

Stayed here for 2 nights over Easter. Although an older hotel, many rooms have been refurbished. We had an issue with the Internet connectivity and to resolve it, the front desk offered to let us move to a room closer to the modem. The rooms are comfortable and average size, but my back would like a bit of a firmer mattress. Personal preference of course. A huge shout-out and big kudos to Luis in the kitchen; he is personable, kind, attentive and overall amazing! He went into detail to describe the layered egg-bake he prepared one morning for breakfast and brought me a plate, napkins and cutlery so I could serve myself some immediately. Thanks Luis! We always stay here when heading to Watertown to shop. Stay here yourself and see; you'll be glad you did.

Room was clean, service great, breakfast was the best food and service. Pool is HEATED!!! Very clean and enjoyable! All the staff was polite and go out of their way to help, one of the best places we have stayed

This hotel was our last stop before entering to Canada. The building is a little old but well kept. We took a suite as there was not much difference in the cost, it was worthed... Service is very good and you do not have to go out for dinner as there is a restaurant in the building (convention center). Will return.

This place cannot be beat. Excellent value, excellent breakfast, excellent staff. We have been coming here for years and are never disappointed. It has everything the traveler needs. Also, it is located right in the center of town so it is handy to great restaurants and historic sites plus shopping.

Honestly, unless the hotel is renovated there is no way to make it enjoyable. The hotel needs to be renovated from top to bottom. The bathroom seems to have gotten some renovation, but it wasn't enough and poorly done. The shower was clogged and all they did was pour some Drano in it which did not fix the ongoing issue. The shower handle was broken so getting it to a good temperature was always a hassle. The cleanliness or the room was questionable as when we got there, there was a plastic bag on the floor under the desk table, the rug looked dingy and dirty and the bathroom wasn't as cleaned as it could have been. The “high speed” internet was not speedy at all and kept making us log in all the time. The walls are thin so any noise you can hear it directly in your room and the guest that were staying next to us we drunk and loud. The washers and dryer are terrible, some of the equipment in the gym did not work and the pool area needed some cleaning. The ONLY saving grace of this place are the employees, they are approachable, friendly and kind.

This trip was spur of the moment. We had a great time. The pool was warm enough for even my husband to enjoy it for more than five minutes with me and the kids. It was out of the way a little and just a perfect little get away. I looked at the fitness room it was nice small but nice

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The check in clerk was cheery and answered any questions we had. Told us about the Wi-Fi and breakfast. The pool and other amenities. The rooms and bathrooms have been upgraded recently. The hot breakfast is above average. Not a lot of hot choices, but plenty of cold options. All in All very good. The stay was pleasant and above all, the hotel was very clean. No Unpleasant Surprises.

We love going to the Best Western in Watertown. The hotel is clean, the staff is excellent and a great breakfast experience. The night was great. The shopping was great. The hotel is close to everything in Watertown.

After a couple of not so good visits, we were once again in the area and decided to try once more our room was a king, on the 1st floor, nice with updated amenities, it was a very cold night, and the room thermostat was not working well, they had a repairman immediately look at it, with no luck, they then offered us an upgrade to a suite, but we took another identical room across the hall. the front desk staff appeared to be new as we did not recognize any of them, and the service was excellent. the only drawback was scarce parking due to a function at the hotel that night. We will go back again.

The front desk staff was very accommodating. The only problem that we have is for the last 2 years the bathroom in the pool area is closed. We asked different employees why and everyone has a different answer. Traveling with small children who need to use bathroom and having to take them up to a 3rd room floor is not very accommodating.

We have not had the opportunity to stay since January 2016 and although the staff has changed, it is still a nice place to stay. Front desk staff along with hotel cleaning staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful. Luis was the main attraction this time. He is the chef/cafeteria caretaker. He is fun, cheerful, loves to sing and has a passion for food. This is the first time that we can honestly say that a hotel breakfast was fabulous. I should also mention that he keeps the breakfast room impeccably clean. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Would like to see recycle bins in the room. As usual, the entertainment at Savory Dowtown (located in the hotel) was great. It would be nice if the hotel lobby had an A-frame with the entertainer's name on it so that you are aware of who they are. Trey was an excellent server with an awesome personality.

I got stuck in Watertown on a Friday night because of a massive snow storm. I got the last room available, which was clean and exactly what I needed at the time. I woke up in the morning to a fantastic breakfast with friendly and upbeat staff. They did a great job of welcoming guests to the room and explaining the menu. I also woke up to a foot and a half of snow on my car. The property manager Jeff spent an hour (with the help of some other guests) snowblowing around my car, brushing it off for me and even pushing it out of the parking lot five different times. Really great service at a reasonable price.

What can i say, this hotel is always up to standards with me, have stayed there many times and always had a great stay, never a problem and if there is the staff will take care of things immediately. Rooms are very very clean and comfy and excellent value for business, overnighter's, or weekend getaway.

The hotel staff was entirely accommodating and the room was very, very nice, clean and comfortable. This would be a 5-star rating if not for the abysmal service at the restaurant, Savory, associated with (but not run by) the hotel. Though our bill was reduced when we complained of the poor service - wrong drink, food delivered late and cold - the restaurant experience spoiled an otherwise delightful night. Breakfast the next morning was hot and filling. We will return, thanks to the sensitive hotel service and comfortable stay. We sure won't eat at Savory again.

We stayed two nights at this nice hotel. There are a number of awesome things about this hotel including very friendly staff, nice and comfortable beds, renovated bathroom, delicious free breakfast, plenty of parking, a gym and indoor swimming pool, free wifi and business centre, the room comes with microwave and fridge, and near shopping and many other places. We had a really nice stay and wanted to say thanks to the staff, especially the chef at breakfast who made sure we were well taken care of and the front desk and room attends. We'll definitely be back for our next trip!!

We stayed here for a weekend wedding. The rooms were OK - good sized suite, very reasonable price, clean, but a bit dated and Spartan (not a single picture on the walls) Breakfast was nothing to write home about - very basic, and in a room that was much too small for the number of guests., Our main issue is with the number of dogs we saw in the hotel - STAYING THERE. And not small lap dogs either: we saw a St. Bernard, a large mixed breed, and our favorite - one the size of a Great Dane making a "deposit" right below our window. (it appears to be his favorite spot, based on visual evidence). The staff was friendly and accommodating, but if I want to spend some quality time with large canines, I'll head over to the Humane Society

Wonderful, helpful staff at this location. Front desk offered recommendations of places to eat and shop. Clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Fresh and plentiful breakfast, including cereal, waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. Fitness center and pool were available although we had no time to use those amenities.

We stayed in a spacious corner suite that had a separated King bedroom. The room was well appointed, clean, with a comfy mattress, and a variety of pillow densities. The staff was very friendly and included breakfast was good. We didn't try but local family said the attached restaurant is also very good. Pool was a great bonus for family time.

Doesn't honor online price/room you booked under. Tried to put us downstairs in a pet friendly room which we did not ask for. Then asked us to pay an upcharge for the room we booked which we fought. Then gave us a room with a faulty door.

We stayed here two night in early December with another couple. Watertown got a dumping of snow two nights before of 18 inches, but the parking lot and sidewalks of this hotel were maintained quite well. Check in was a breeze as usual, Since our last visit here there have been many upgrades. The breakfast area has been given an update, very nice. The breakfast staff were very friendly and talkative, even giving everyone a Christmas card, a very nice personal touch. We had a wonderful stay, just an all around pleasant atmosphere. There was a Christmas party going on the Saturday evening, but no disturbances whatsoever. We didn't get to use the pool this time, but perhaps next time. All in all a great stay. Thank-you to all.

The room was not cleaned or towels replaced, trash taken out and beds not made. The check in staff member didn't seem to be as friendly as the staff that was there before. It seemed like we were interrupting him. I have stayed at this property many times in the pass and always have enjoyed my stay and the staff that was there. I got to know them well. It seems that when the property changed hands the quality of service has went down hill. It seemed like there wasn't many guests there during our stay.

We were pleasantly suprised at this hotel because of it's location. we wanted to be close to all the shopping, but it turned out ok. it's only 5 minutes up the road in the old part of Watertown. It had snowed a lot the previous days and so everything was covered in a giant blanket of snow... it was absolutely beautiful to see. The hotel Lobby had the fireplace going which made for a very inviting setting! all that was missing was the wine!! The room was nice and comfortable, roomy and clean. The breakfast was included and was overall good. We had a wonderful time and am sure we'll be going back...

This hotel is older, but has been mostly renovated. They have done a good job with it. It's clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband had stayed there multiple times, while in town to visit his mother, and I was just there with him, recently. Besides the room, we also visited the bar for live music (very fun,) and had breakfast at the free breakfast buffet. That was a very welcomed and appreciated feature, as we needed to get on the road as early as we could. They had hot and cold breakfast items available, a variety of juices and coffee. The only problem was that the line was disorganized, and it was impossible to get a waffle made. I'm hi king that station should have been located away from everything else, and maybe should be manned, but it's not my restaurant ;) There was plenty of parking, although they still had construction vehicles taking up part of the lot. It was clean and well-maintained, albeit an older building, and even though they were in the midst of renovations, I believe most of the rooms have been done. Decent price. We didn't get to the pool, but I think they had just done renovation there as well. We would go back.

Let me begin by saying that Luis makes your morning wonderful. His warm smile, thoughtfulness and desire to make your breakfast the best part of your day makes you want to return. The bed is also very comfortable. The room was also reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I rated the hotel average because the clock in the room was not operating properly, the shower took a few minutes to produce warm water (never reached hot) and it took an abnormally long time to check-in because their systems were down. It also was scary when my wife drop her earrings beside the bed and we looked under the bed. Advice: if you decide to stay at the hotel, simply ask for a room that does not face Washington Street to avoid the street noise.

Checking in was so fast and easy, the clerk was very friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We had coffee maker, microwave and fridge. We were there on a Holiday evening, thus the restaurant was closed, sadly no one in town was delivering, we had to go out to get something. The parking lot is very dark, I was a little uncomfortable with that. Other than the extremely dark parking area, great stay, we had a nice view.

We have stayed there many times, most times have a good experience, this time was disappointed with the bar, They have changed the layout, the stage is now right in front of the bar, we love to dance, and they now have no room to dance, and most of the seating in behind the stage. We were disappointed.

We were thorough in reading reviews and choosing a hotel for our stay in Watertown. When we arrived, we were greeted by a less than enthusiastic staff person (male) who informed us our room was not ready. Took all over info and we said we'd be back after shopping. Returned 6 hours later, again not greeted, by the same staff member who said somehow our information was lost, and to check in all over again. He was rude, condesending, and totally not interested in us. He repeated asked us to come back with more information or license plate. Let me add, this was a pre-paid booking through booking.com. He really upset us with his attitude and my husband who is very laid back, was angry. We will never be back again. There was a very loud group of ladies screaming with their door open which they did nothing about, and the walls are so paper thin, you can hear the tv next door when the ladies weren't screaming. Very disappointed.

We were here for a cancer conference. Staff was helpful rooms clean. Lounge clean but entertainment needs help. The guy left early and the bar just was boring. Front desk staff was great. Overall good place to stay

The staff was friendly as usual. I have been here once or twice before. No cookies on Fridays or Saturdays which was disappointing. The computers the guests could use was out of order. Since it was Friday night, the staff said they had to wait until Monday to have them looked at. that was very disappointing. Breakfast was good- good choices. I did not get a coupon this time for the hotel restaurant. I was not able to bring (breakfast) food back to the room for my daughter. That was not fair.

There is also a restaurant on site. i did not realize this first 3 days but after i had dinner one night i will definrtly return. food good and reasonably priced. had local entertainment. a good place to stay.

Located in the center of the city, this hotel looked good from the outside, and when I entered the lobby I was taken aback by how nice this property is. The complimentary hot breakfast include real eggs (vs. powdered) and has a nice selection. The people are friendly and the value to price is excellent. Going back next time I visit Fort Drum

The location is excellent! There is so much to do in this area. The food in the restaurant was very good and the service in the bar was great. The hotel staff was very accommodating and fulfilled any requests or needs immediately. We will be staying here again.

I got charged unnecessary fees after checking out and accidentally leaving my credit card. The front desk assured me it was in the mail, but didn't receive it after a week and had to cancel it. There was no maid service. I wouldn't stay here ever again.

Our group of 6 adults stayed in this hotel while exploring 1000 Islands area. You say the hotel is only place to get some sleep and frankly I don't remember a lot of them because they were just OK, Best Western Watertown Fort Drum is something else. The hotel is just average Best Western type, clean well equipped rooms, excellent breakfast etc., but customer service.... boy-oh-boy phenomenal-fantastico-exellente!!!!!! Kili at the reception made our already pleasant stay to be exceptional, her passion for the area, and customer service is what we are going to remember. Thank You Kili!! Note for travelers staying there on weekends: this is downtown of Watertown, Not many places to get a bite to eat before the evening hours and most of stores closed.

The hotel was centrally located in downtown Watertown. The room was large and had all the amenities. The fitness room was superb with free weight dumbbells (hard to find in many hotel fitness rooms), although one of the machines was not working. The free internet, free breakfast, and free parking were all available. However, there was no cleaning service for the room for two days in a row. No clean sheets or clean towels for two days. I complained at the front desk and they noted what I said, but offered no apology.

Rooms are clean and neat. Place is a bit dated but really quite nice. The pool is excellent and the complimentary breakfast is above average. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can't park your bikes under their awning. Fire code was given as the reason. Lots of free parking.

Accommodations are average, not great, but not a dive either. In need of updating!! Upon arrival there was a miscommunication; we were short sleeping accommodations. The check in clerk did everything possible to help us settle in. Elevator was sketchy! Breakfast staff Marcus and Lucas are 5 star!! Friendly! Accommodating! And the food was fresh and stocked! They quickly clear tables and clean up spills! All the while smiling! They really made the stay worth while! I would likely stay here again.

Let's start with the fact that we were so pleased with our stay here that we have already booked a weekend away for November 2018. Check-in was a smooth and painless process. The front desk clerk, Kili, although unable to alleviate some issues within the hotel was both helpful and apologetic. The hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays. Kili apologized for the inconvenience and offered to assist patrons in finding a nearby place to eat. The swimming pool "broke down" the day before maintenance was scheduled to begin. Although it was not her fault, Kili explained the situation and apologized for the situation. When we had questions or needed further assistance, she was there. She went above and beyond what we have come to expect from front desk personnel and was cheerful the entire time. In the lobby, there are coffee, tea (both decaf and regular) and instant hot chocolate available. As well, there are cookies. These complimentary items are more than welcome when arriving after a long day on the road. The room was clean. The mattress comfortable. The best part of the stay, besides the friendly staff, was the breakfast. The scrambled eggs are made with real eggs!!! To quote my husband, "It's the best breakfast that we've had provided by a hotel." I only wish that there had been yogurt available. As I wrote at the beginning, our stay was so pleasant after one night that we plan a return visit and stay in order to tour the Watertown area.

We needed a hotel close to Ft. Drum that was within budget. From the initial booking call to the calls that we were going to be late, to the actual late check in, Christine was friendly and sympathetic and made that whole experience easier. Breakfast was plentiful with fun staff, the room was spacious with a comfortable bed, the hotel was more grand and had more to offer than we originally realized. Check out was a snap. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in was fast and the worker was soooo nice and friendly. Had a welcome cookie and it was good. Hotel was a bit rundown. Weird smell, chips and chunks out of doors and floors. The beds were not comfortable. Lumpy. AC did not work well. Was warm most of the night even though I set it to 67. WiFi never worked. Would never bring up the network at all.

Pet friendly area and rooms smelled strongly of urine, stains on carpet, moisture in air(carpet cleaningothes and slippers felt damp), cobwebs, spider and ant on linen, questionable clean linens at start of stay, fridge caked ice and pooling water. Perhaps pulling carpet would be a better way to keep the stink down and dehumidifier to keep moisture out of air.

From the manager Christine to the cleaning staff, everyone is welcoming and great! The check-in personnel are always efficient and inviting. Everyone greats you by name and asks if there is anything they can do to make your stay better. It really feels like a home away from home. Which is nice, as I stay for months at a time.

We were on the third leg of our road trip and booked a night there. Ok my gosh. Do not go on a Sunday because it's like a ghost town. Nothing is open except for a pizza place. We had to drive to another town to get some food in a food court that was closing at 6 pm. Watertown wasn't that great and we saw lots of people hanging in the street. The hotel was ok. A bit dated. The check in staff very accommodating and helpful and the young man in the restaurant at the breakfast is really chatty and helpfu too. Not a lot of choices at breakfast if you are a vegetarian. Bit pricey for what you get.

They are usually pretty good. This not a Best Western plus. The room was tiny and full of furniture. The pool was out of order and the breakfast was pretty bad like a Comfort Inn, which I won't go to anymore. The staff were pleasant.

Upon arriving in back lobby entrance, trash piled up and strewn in parking lot, attracting flies - very unappealing. Breakfast good. Computers in lobby not working or is extremely slow. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast hot and cold items. Hotel is historic, but still needs to be renovated and updated. Third floor had construction going on.

We were traveling for leisure and only stayed one night on our way to Canada. The front desk staff, breakfast stand were AMAZING! The hotel was clean, staff and guests were friendly, and food at breakfast was INCREDIBLE!

Grew up in Watertown so I am very much aware of how old this building is but with that it is very well kept up. Continental Breakfast is what you would expect but the size of the room it is held in makes it seem much better since you are not on top of each other. Close to the Square and easy to access so it is a plus..

We used the coupon out of the coupon book and they honored it.This hotel is right down town and very close to all malls and restaurants. Full hot breakfast, swimming pool, exercise room and snacks at 5.

First, my husband and daughter were trapped in the elevator for 35 minutes! This happened 5 minutes after we checked in. The staff knew the elevator was not running properly and she actually laughed at them after they got them out! The sheets were disgusting(I did take a picture. I called to request new sheets and the front desk put me on hold for 20 minutes. I didn't dare take the elevator to the front desk so I just slept on top of them. The housekeeping never cleaned our room! The beds were not made! She left me a note stating there were no more towels available and would bring fresh ones when they were finished. At 9:45pm I went to the front desk and they were gracious enough to give me 2 regular towels and 2 pool towels! UGH...and to boot...I have to pay for this. Ridiculous. The only positive thing in this hotel was the staff and food at breakfast. The two gentlemen working the breakfast were wonderful!

Very beautiful lobby & event center. While the rooms were very average with the older Best Western decor, appliances and Tv's. The pool was a bit boring for the older kids as the depth is only 4'6" and the frog slide for the smaller kids had no water running through it. The bathrooms in the pool area were very cool & well placed! The staff was very friendly and helpful. With a few physical adjustments i would have given a 5. Overall- I definitely would recommended this hotel and will use it again whenever we are in Watertown.

We stayed here 2 nights July 13 & 14, 2018. We were gone Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. When we got back we were tired and first our keys did not work and had to be reset. Once we got in room our room had been untouched - beds not made, garbage still full, towels on the floor. Our room was never serviced. I went to front desk and all they could do was give me email address for manager. We were told there was no manager there in charge. I sent an email to bestwestchi@gmail.com address I was given stating our disappointment and NEVER even got a reply with an apology. When we checked out next morning we were told again that there was no manager there in charge. Who is running this place- apparently nobody. Also took a 10 minute shower and when done was standing in 3inches of water; took over 1/2 for water to go down. On a good note the breakfast staff was very accommodating and friendly. However, this has left me with never wanting to stay at any Best Western again.

I chose this hotel because it was near the library and the newspaper where I was doing research in archival materials. My sister and I are both in our 70s but we're able bodied and there were simply too many stairs to navigate with even a small suitcase. There is an elevator to the second floor and the below grade floor, but the first floor has a set of stairs in both wings which we couldn't avoid. Eating the complimentary breakfast also involved additional stairs. I am a lap swimmer,so when we checked in I asked if towels would be available at the pool. I was told yes. The first time I swam, there was only one clean towel, so I reminded the front desk to keep the pool towels stocked. The second time I swam, there were no clean towels and I had to return to my room to grab one. I reminded them again at the front desk to stock towels by the pool. The third time I swam, I took my own towel from the room, which was necessary because, again, there were no clean towels by the pool. The pool was also closed one entire day because the water had been contaminated. The clock by the pool was an hour behind the correct time. The hotel erroneously thought we were checking out a day earlier than our reservation and they didn't bother to clean our room or provide fresh towels. We also could not gain access to our room because our e-keys no longer opened the door. Since the housekeeping staff had gone home by the time we discovered the error, we had to wait for other staff to provide us with clean towels. The hotel had a sign in the bathroom about "Saving the Planet" by reusing our towels, but they provided only two very small towel bars for hanging up towels. TOWELS DO NOT DRY WELL IN BETWEEN USES WHEN FOLDED UP TIGHTLY ON TOWEL BARS! HOTELS SHOULD PROVIDE HOOKS FOR THE PURPOSE, including placing hooks outside of the bathroom, where they will also dry more quickly. We are happy to reuse towels and save the planet but cannot do so without plenty of towel hooks! There was only one electrical outlet in the bathroom, but it was hard to find, since the towels hanging on a small towel bar obscured it from our view. When we checked out, they could not give me a receipt, but promised to email me a copy. 9 days after I checked out, I still hadn't received my receipt. Calling the hotel was useless since the front desk and the operator never answered the phone. I called tka central Best Western number and they were able to send me the recipt. Three pluses of our stay: the room had a "sanitary cover" on the remote enabling better cleaning between guests; when the maid cleaned the room, she did a great job; and the free breakfast included freshly made waffles each morning. The attached photos show how small the towel bars are and the more sanitary cover for the TV remote control.

We had a very unpleasant visit. We booked 2 queen beds was told upon arrival they don't have Queen Beds at all? Received 2 double beds for 5 adult females our room was not clean at all and could tell the beds were not made. They said a cot was available for a cost of 30$? No thank you, there should have been no charge.Had an awful experience with another guest across from the Hall security and police was called he had to be removed by the manager. Our door would not close at all dead bolt was broken for fear of our safety we asked to be switched from our room at 130 am. Funny how earlier there was no other rooms available book solid. Then to be inconvenienced through all of this we hear down below outside our hotel window was people partying til 3 am. Did not sleep at all. We travelled 5 hours from Canada to visit my uncle and cousins which we haven't seen in 20 years.The 3 hours that we got to see our family was the only pleasant part of our trip.Hector one of their employees was very kind shout out goes to him. Keep being you Hector you are going places. Very disappointed with the amount we paid for the one night that was the worst night I have ever had staying in a Hotel. A Hotel should be a place like a home away from home, you should feel comfortable and safe. We did not have that experience at all. We told their staff upon check out we were going to call their corporate office, and Expedia Travells / TripAdvisor whom we booked with. We came from Canada and with the exchange our Hotel for a one night stay there worked out to be 236$ our price converted to Canadian money. So not worth it. I will never book through TripAdvisor again, and will think twice about Best Western we were very disappointed considering this Hotel was rated 4.5 / 5 stars. I hope others do not have the same experience we encountered. Safe travels do your research people before booking!??????

Located on hiway 3 on the east side it was easy to find. Staff was friendly in general. A few glitches. Not really friendly to handicap patrons although the front desk staff were eager to assist. No way to get to breakfast area without stairs. Breakfast staff made the loud announcement “6 minutes left” I assume to clear the area so they could clean up. Elevator repeatedly blew something & had to be reset. Room was clean & very nice.

wonderful staff, especially amazing breakfast staff , clean rooms, comfy beads. The reception staff go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible ( and cookies warm out of the oven every afternoon ). The only complaint I have is there is no outdoor patio to sit at.

Enjoyed my stay was in Watertown for grandson graduation from high school,the staff was some what friendly the one that checked us in could use lesson in customer service but the 2 ladies that checked us out were great, told them that housekeeping did not clean our room they gave me a gift card and apologized. The breakfast was good I would stay there again.

Stayed for weekend and front desk staff were not overly friendly/welcoming. Housekeeping knocked just before 9:00 am and we asked for some time. Returned early evening and room was not cleaned. No offer of any type of restitution or a call from Manager. This hotel is pricey compared to others in area and would expect better service!

We stopped only for one night, before continue to 1000 islands and on to Canada. The recepltionist was excellent thanks to manager Kili. Double beds were comfortable, free parking behind the hotel. It's located in an old building, but very clean. Breakfast was full and the big guy called Marthy, a breakfasts superviser was constantly working and welcoming guests. Nice surprise, at 5pm a freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were offered at reception area.

I wanted to like this hotel more than I did, as the reviews looked very promising. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is free parking, WiFi and breakfast here, so that's nice. It may have been our room that we just did not enjoy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it felt like a solid block of metal with bedding put on top. It was evident that the mattress was far past it's prime. The bed was also oddly on a slant, and was lop-sided. It was very hard to get a good nights sleep I will be honest. Our view was also terrible; the window looked onto brick walls, which made the room feel very dark and dingy, even when the lights were on. Our shower also made a very loud noise whenever it was in use. I will say that everything was very clean, and there was a lovely personalized note on our room left on the desk, wishing us a good stay. That detail was great!

Our family decided to stay night as we had points to use, we used on wrong hotel. Dirty towels on room, bar was not open even though it advertised it would be. Pool area had no ventilation, even swimming it was too hot. Staff was friendly the whole time, but they really need to pay attention to the other issues. Sloppy it other areas. Has potential to be a great hotel.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and outgoing and the room was very large,well decorated and very clean and quiet as well. There is ample well lit parking. The breakfast is included and it includes many hot and cold options to suit everyone. The man that took care of breakfast kept everything fresh, full and offered help to anyone that needed it. The breakfast seating area is huge by todays standards. The front desk staff are efficient and very helpful as well . We found this to be an excellent place to stay and hope it remains this way

Very nice hotel to stay in! I will be bringing my family for a stay the next time we are on our way to Canada for a visit. Very friendly, clean and comfortable. Don't hesitate to stay here, this is a very nice hotel.

Great place to stay if you want poor service, filthy rooms, and to eat with your hands. The staff get aggresive and try to bully you if you ask questions, the rooms are not even remotely clean or fully functional, and the continental breakfast did not have enough silverware either day I was there.

Friendlly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms with great beds. The bar and ounge has great food and drink specials. Locate in town but near shopping etc. We have stayed here several times and have always had a great stay

Stayed here for 3 nights. All of the staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Ate at their restaurant one time-excellent food and service and can say the same for the complimentary breakfasts. Hotel was very quiet as well.

The decor is a bit eclectic but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a gym and indoor pool and a decent breakfast. They are situated in downtown Watertown and are only about 10 minutes from the main shopping area.

The Good: We had a king suite and it is certainly spacious, very clean and well kept. Some updating would have been nice, even some pictures on the wall. The hotel is a conference center also and well kept throughout. The breakfast that was served until 10am on Sunday was excellent, the food was all good and staffed by a most helpful individual. The room was very large with ample tables and you did not feel rushed through breakfast, like at some hotels. There were hot and cold choices and also a waffle maker. Location is downtown and so you are a distance from the malls and most restaurants but it is only a 10 minute drive. The Bad: My only real complaint was the noise, since this is a conference hotel, it hosts many large events and sometimes they can get noisy. However the night we were there, there did not seem to be anything going on but yet the noise level was very high ....slamming doors ......constant noise in the hallways, there cannot be much insulation in the walls. There was constant noise from the parking lot, like a small party that went on until 1am. So, if you're looking for a good nights sleep, then get a room on the top floor, facing the front entrance. The front desk could learn to be a little more polite but that might just have been the lady I spoke with in the afternoon. Due to the noise, I would not choose this hotel again but for some large event it would be a great choice.

I stayed for one night on my way to Canada at the Best Western Hotel Watertown/Fort Drum, NY. The hotel is in a good central location. The staff was warm, friendly, and did a good job. The rooms are clean and pleasant. The price is excellent.

The air conditioning was not working and it was hot and stuffy. There was also 2 stains on the carpet which looked like a pet urinated there. Wasn't a big fan of the hotel overall and will think twice about booking my next stay there.

We stopped in Watertown as it was our last stop before crossing the canadian border. This place is well known to us as it was our fifth stay. Rooms are clean and comfortables but we consider that they need refreshment. Heating system is noisy and does not work all the time.

It didn't start very well, with the receptionist at check-in being obviously bored with his work and not being particularly nice nor helpful. He gave us a room which wasn't the type we booked (got a king bed instead of two double beds), but we didn't really care so we didn't report it. We found the heater to be too noisy to keep it on during the night (though we probably could have slept through it since we were really tired), so in the morning the room was quite cold. Finally, although the breakfast was until 10 am on Saturday morning, by 9:30 there were no more eggs since apparently someone messed up when giving the guests count to the kitchen... On the plus side, the room was clean and comfortable, which is the most important! And the price was very good.

Our room had 2 double beds plus we added a pack n play and it was still plenty of space for the toddler to run around. The staff were friendly, the hotel provided a great breakfast, and the pool is surprisingly large and warm.

We just spent a couple of days in Watertown and I told Luis (the gentleman that looks after the free hot breakfast 6 days a week) I would give him a shout out. Great job Luis! The hotel itself is a bit dated, the heater in our room was a bit fritzy (it wasn't a big deal as we like a cool room for sleeping and when we mentioned it on checkout they took down all the particulars and said they would address it pronto), but the beds were really comfortable and having a pool and a hot breakfast provided at the rate we were quoted was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Luis greeted everyone as they came into the dining room and made sure we knew where everything was. He takes pride in keeping his domain shipshape and clean and the food topped up as needed. If we find ourselves in this part of New York state again we would definitely come back here.

I usually stay at this property on my roughly quarterly visits to Watertown.. Amazing price. I am a Canadian veteran and Best Western has special rates for military and military retirees. I noticed this trip that they are pet friendly.

Stayed here to go prom dress shopping with my daughter and niece. I had originally booked on Expedia but once we got there, Keely at the front desk said "oh we have a better deal for Canadians", I was able to cancel the Expedia booked room and rebook through her for much cheaper. This was at about 9:00 at night, when we got up in the morning, she was still there. Such a lovely lady and a great ambassador for your hotel. Luis in the dining room works very hard and was extremely friendly as well. Very clean, older hotel but great location and excellent service!

Excellent Service, Breakfast was exceptional, rooms very clean. Will return for sure. Close to all amenities, shopping center, restaurants. Ample parking. Easy check-in,and departure. 5 minutes from inter-state 81.

Disclaimer..I booked this room through a third party site that indicates the hotel would choose the room type. My husband checked in and they won't even consider giving us a room with a king bed. We wanted to pay the difference ($10 for a king or $20 for a king suite) and they wouldn't let us. From a customer service standpoint this is absurd. I've traveled all over the place and other hotels I've booked through the same site have been more than accommodating, even other Best Western hotels. This is definitely not the hotel it once was. Poor Management. Poor customer service. We left.

We stayed here instead of one of the hotels near I-81 to be closer for an appointment I had downtown. We were very pleased with the room except the water pressure was poor and it needs a new faucet which shows the temperature range. The indoor pool was great and the complimentary breakfast was good too. I would recommend this hotel....especially since we were actually given a cheaper rate than what we originally booked.

Lots to offer in the hotel. Convenient location for my business. Loved having the refrigerator and microwave in the room; towels for the pool were very small. Had to ask for some items that are usually provided at a hotel, but they did have them at the front desk, but you had to ask and go pick them up.

Spent two nights here on separate occasions in the last month and have been pleasantly surprised with the value though Priceline. Hotel is a short drive from Interstate 81 with plenty of free parking in the back. Although dated, room amenities are clean and Wifi is reliable. Strangely enough, toilet was child size both times. Breakfast is acceptable with juice, waffles, toast, eggs, fruits etc.. There is a yogurt machine but it was out of service both times I was there.. coincidence? The breakfast area is large with plenty of seating which is nice and good service for replenishment. For the price, would certainly return next time I am in the area.

This was one of the most pleasant surprises we have had on our travels. The location is very central and there is plenty of free parking at the hotel. The staff were most helpful and the room we had was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The hotel has elevators and where needed ramps allow wheelchair accessibility.

Ended up in a room with no working TV remote and when we talked to the front desk there was no service people available. Went down to get a new remote which also did not work after a tiring day we really did not want the hassle of changing the channels by the TV when we did not even know the channels.... The fridge pinged a weird noise all night like a clock ticking and we had to turn off the heat because it was grinding. Walls are thin and although you cannot control the people in the hall or next room it still makes sleeping hard. Not a restful night had we known there was renovated rooms would have requested this. Breakfast really was great, very clean area, food was hot, selection was good and stocked frequently. The cook was very friendly and came by to see if we needed anything he was great to talk too.

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. The third floor was close. In the pool area both restrooms and sauna were closed. That made changing a bit challenging either go back to the room dripping wet or be creative. Hopefully renovation will make the amenities even better. Dreaming of seeing a hot tub! However, our stay was as pleasant as ever, room comfortable, clean. Brightness of the room could be better, reading in bed impossible. The breakfast area much improvement, more choices, fruits only missing bacon. Xmas decor was beautiful as ever, that's is why we like to visit in December. Fresh cookies, slider sandwiches much appreciated! Cannot wait to see our favoured hotel new and improved.

Our favourite spot in Watertown has been edging up their prices so we decided to head into town for an alternative. We couldn't have been more pleased. Oddly enough, being downtown these days means a quieter part of town. But it was only a couple of minutes drives from the shopping and restaurants of Arsenal Street. Check-in was quick and efficient. Before heading out to dinner we discovered our door would not luck but the front desk quickly changed our rooms and made the transition very easy. Our room was spotless, nice appointed with fixtures and furnishings and had a comfy bed with nice new sheets. Similarly, the bathroom had oddles of towels. Cable service was adequate (why do none of the Watertown hotels have a Canadian channel) and the wifi was excellent. The breakfast buffet was one of the real bonuses. We came down late so we had Luis as our personal chef and tour guide. He keeps the dining area spotless and ensures that everything on the buffet is fresh and well presented. He also kept us well entertained with his wit and wisdom. He is a great plus for the hotel. We will certainly consider BW for all our future trips to Watertown.

It was a nice stay and with the sub zero temps, we managed to have a great experience. Thanks to all the staff who went above and beyond to make this truly a great stay. I will recommend this for its location as well.

Stayed there for a total 4 days over Christmas. As usual despite the holiday the Staff took great care of us and our room was as usual very comfortable. We also had to extend our stay by a day due to bad travel weather and this was done easily with no question or issues.

No real problems during our stay. Nice room for the price. Convenient location. Breakfast had many items. The room we had was somewhat updated. I liked being able to park in the back and walk directly into the hotel. This was especially important considering the weather in Watertown was terrible during our 4 night stay.

I stayed at the best western for 2 nights while we did some Christmas shopping. Although this is an older property the rooms were clean and nice. We enjoyed how close it was to downtown and only 10 minute drive to the mall. The hotel had some nice features such as a pool that we enjoyed swimming in and a delicious free breakfast that started each morning off great. Since that about covers the hotel let's take a minute and talk about the real reason I will be making this my new go to hotel in Watertown. Simply put the staff here are amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly and willing to assist with any request. The front desk staff were great and the people in the restaurant were we had breakfast made my morning. The blond lady who I can't remember the name of is the greatest and the other gentleman Luis even gave us a Christmas card. The little touches like this make it the best stay and definitely the reason I will be back. Thank you for everything.

very happy with facility - Staff was very friendly -- location was very good and convenient to what we needed. Breakfast was included which was nice -- I did use exercise room daily during my stay. It was snowy during our visit and hotel did a good job of maintaining walkways and parking lots.

Great hotel, great location, overall excellent Hotel will be back. Prices per room hard to beat, close to major shopping centers, very close to interstate 81 and not to far from the Canadian border crossing..

We have always enjoyed staying at this BW. This time we were impressed with the beautiful Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, we were given no explanation as to why our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after check-in time, but the hot cookies mollified us. We usually have friends come to play cards in the evening, so an extra chair would be most useful.

I travel a lot, and to be honest the Best Western is generally not on the top of my hotel choices. This hotel exceeded my expectations and then some. We used Hotwire for our stay in Watertown and we got this hotel. It is located more in the downtown sector, away from the highway which is nice. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping top notch. The best though was Louis at the breakfast room. He was friendly, helpful and so attentive to everyone having their meal. All of the food items were well stocked and fresh. Especially liked the maple cinnamon waffles. Louis should be recognized for his wonderful hospitality and a great ambassador for the Best Western in Watertown. We were in Syracuse the next day and decided to return to the Best Western for the second night, got the same room, same rate and exactly the same wonderful service. Louis was genuinely surprised to see us , as we had mentioned we were only staying one night, and we told him it was all because of him we came back. Highly recommend.

This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel, I think, and it always has pleased me. The rooms are clean, it has a nice bathroom with a nice tall shower (I'm 5'11 and my fiancé is 6'5 so this was very important to us), the breakfast had lots of options and tasted great. The only problem was our fridge had a ticking noise the whole time we were there, we had someone come take a look and they offered to replace the fridge but with the tv on we couldn't hear it so we decided not to have them replace it. They were all very helpful.

Yikes, I'm unsure what to think of the super positive reviews of this Best Western. Perhaps I've got a poor attitude about it since I've traveled so frequently for work. I've had the fortune to experience other brand chains and different tiered levels, so this put things into perspective for me. The rooms are sufficient but are not generously sized. Two double beds in a room is tight enough, but the doubles themselves making sharing a bed laughably impossible. For any average American couple, you likely will not fit together in the bed you're provided. So you'll each need to have your own bed, or suffer through it while others sleep in the second bed. Sigh. The bathroom felt grimy. There was residence around the faucet handles from prior guests, which was off-putting. The grout around the tub was stained and tired looking. There was a faint smell of urine. Towels and washcloths were not reliably restocked so we had to ask for them. The redeeming quality of the bathroom was the full-sized hair dryer that was powerful and worked well. A fridge and microwave were provided but we did not use them. The tv worked fine. Wi-fi was fine. Parking is out back and generally available. For the price paid, this was adequate but isn't going to win any awards for attention to detail. This property has been used hard for a lot of years and shows it.

The bed was so so comfortable. The room was very clean. The staff was excellent . I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone wanting a great value and extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast was quite good also with a lot to choose from.

We went for a girls shopping trip and stayed one night here. The hotel offers friendly staff, great breakfast and it is fairly close to the bigger shopping spots in the area.We were within walking distance to a cute little bar called Paddock. We would stay here again if we ever go back.

Each year, we spend some time in NYS to purchase our Xmas Turkey at the US at the Thanksgiving prices. We have stayed three time at the Best Western Watertown / Fort Drum and have been very pleased. The rooms are comfortable and the free WiFi is a bonus. It is located near the city centre which is very quiet at night. The free breakfast is very well presented and is a very good bonus from the hotel. The Savory Downtown bar and restaurant is also very convenient. Should one to have a beverage with supper, the ability to walk to the bar alleviates any situations with driving..... We shall return.

We overnighted in Watertown on our way north, and the Best Western Watertown provided excellent value - a comfortable room, friendly staff, good internet, and an excellent breakfast, all for a very a good price. I would happily stay here again.

We give the hotel a very good because we were sorry that the swimming pool was closed...so not that happy about that...otherwise we love this hotel and we will be back..Our room was an upgrade and really very good...I should say our rooms;We had a living room with a fridge ,T.V.and a nice sofa and the bedroom with another T.V and a nice place to wash-up and of course a shower...and we had a lot of products we never saw in other B.W hotels.Breakfast .is always fantastic there and you have a newspaper and cookies at 4 P.M. We will be back and the swimming pool will be functionel again.

This hotel is good but older. The pool was closed without being advised previously. This was upsetting because we and our friends had intended to go swimming. We should be compensated as this is false advertising but nothing was done about it.

Stayed here back in February visiting my son at Fort Drum hot breakfast was great we all loved our stay reason I stayed there this November my hotel of choice when I visit my son. will be staying there again

I stayed for 2 nights. The bed was extremely comfortable . The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was very spacious, but could use a little update. The location was very convenient for me to visit family. It was a very pleasant visit and will stay again. I have stayed in Best Western's before and always had a good experience.

We go USA shopping in the Watertown area several times a year, we always seem to end up at the Best Western. Last few years, I must admit this hotel was tired and the breakfasts were nothing more than basic But! Things have changed, they have a fresh yogurt machine, fresh red grapefruit, TWO beiguim wafflemachines. Then the usual , bagels, cereals,hot dishes, scrambled eggs & sausages. Made for a lovely way to start our day. Rooms and beds are comfy. Pool is warm & clean. Good time by us all ! Thank u. We will b back !

Very good value. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet area with good parking. Breakfast was ok. Staff were pleasant. Note that there are two streets in the area with the same name as that which the hotel is on!!

We came to Watertown for our son's hockey game with the Watertown Wolves.Our rating relates to travelling with our pet (small chihuahua) and the rooms allocated as pet-friendly ....with the $20 pet fee, we have found that with most hotels this does not restrict where the rooms are located (and the fee helps with additional cleaning). The rooms are located in a semi-basement area but "you do have a window" the front clerk advised me. Um...we could have handled this, even though if you opened the curtains, it was on the back sidewalk entrance from the parking lot to the lobby, meaning if you open the curtains, anyone walking by is looking down into your room. As I said, we could have handled this by keeping the curtains closed. But, the smell of the rooms is what mattered most to us. The rooms are outfitted absolutely fine (not dated) and had been cleaned well but the smell that hits you when you open the door is the problem. Just because we travel with our small pet does not mean we want to sleep in what smells like a dog kennel. Sorry, I do not mean to be harsh - but the location of the rooms and the smell that maybe this BW thinks customers are okay with simply because they own a pet, is the reason for the lower review. I do not feel this is a housekeeping issue, because as I said, the general cleaning and make-up of the room was done well, but how do you give a good review for cleanliness when it is obvious the smell is coming from something...perhaps replacement of the carpet. Overall, the price paid was a deal at $88 US, the staff was friendly, and we had a hard time finding a pet-friendly hotel in Watertown.

Hotel was very clean. Good selection on the restaurant menu. Family style spaghetti meal was very good. Happy hour was fun .Staff very pleasant, friendly and courteous.It was so nice to be able to relax after a day of driving. In the morning the breakfast selection was varied to suit everyone and the female staff attending to it was pleasant and welcoming. Front desk staff were very nice too. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling that way and hopefully we will be returning.

Poor lighting in room, could not read due to poor lighting. Poor room service: sheets did not fit bed, towels sometimes replaced, sometimes not. Had to go to service desk for basics room service did not provide. Front desk personnel too busy on phone to assist customers. Final bill completely wrong, causing problems submitting expense report.

Great place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent hot breakfast items. Clean, comfortable room. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends and families. Visitors to Alex Bay will find this hotel in Watertown to be a smart choice.

Decided to go to Watertown NY. at last minute. Called BW for room and very friendly employee arranged our stay. When we arrived our room was ready, and very satisfactory. We decided to eat in our room got room-service (two orders of chicken wings) the wings were fabulous.

Unable/unwilling to take care of customers, staff is ok but not overly friendly or willing to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Facilities are dated, issues with door handles, cleaning services, towels etc.

Very nice place to stay, hotel staff was very nice. Shopping and eating places are very close . Nice area to walk your pet at night or early morning.Nice breakfast offered in the morning. Will stay there again next year.

My wife, infant son and I stayed here for a weekend shopping getaway in Watertown. We were impressed with the room and all amenities provided. Very good free breakfast. Located closer to the downtown core - lots of beautiful historic buildings. A great experience.

This hotel is located in a very charming town. We were able to walk to dinner at Spokes Restaurant just a few blocks away and had great food and brews. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. It was a great stop on our way from Quebec City, Canada to the Finger Lakes.

I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and this was, by far, the worst. I arrived at the hotel at 3:15 and did not check into my room until 7:45. They had a late check out (5:30), and that was the room we had been assigned to. While waiting for the room, we were given another room to wait in...we had planned on taking showers and going to dinner but because of the delay, none of that happened. When we finally did get to our room, there was no toilet paper at all in the room and the shower curtain had many stains on it. My dog found 2 dog bones underneath the bed. The room had be "cleaned" by the associate at the front desk because by the time the late check outs had left, the cleaning staff had also left. The worst part, though, was that the staff kept telling me my room would be ready at different times, but, in fact, were not being truthful to me. First they said the previous customers were checking out between 4 and 5, then ended up telling me they did not leave until 5:30 - yet it took them 2 hours and 15 minutes to clean the room. I called the front desk 4 times during this waiting period and no one would answer my call. My husband went up to the front desk to check on the delay and after that, they answered the front desk phone. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel.

This is a very nice hotel . We stopped using a walk-in coupon which worked out great. We were able to walk downtown and found a wonderful place to eat. The breakfast was excellent with a yogurt dispenser and nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips and sugar were available. Great hotel in a great location.

The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room had modern furnishings with a microwave and large fridge. It had one of those useless hotel-only cup-at-time coffee makers though there is free coffee in the lobby. We were placed in a basement room below ground (unusual) which made for a very dark and depressing room. To our surprise, we discovered after checking in that the hotel allows pets which meant our room had bad pet smells which they tried to hide with an overpowering plugin air freshener. The lobby and stairs area smelled awful (like vomit) each time we came and went to/from the room or the breakfast room. At night it was difficult to sleep (especially for kids) due to the noise of barking dogs all around us and loud noise in the hallways. Also the room walls are very thin and you can hear every sound from the neighbouring rooms - their TV, conversations, etc. The pool area is ok. Oddly enough the change rooms for both male/female have no doors and are completely open to the pool area. If you want to change into a bathing suit you either have to do it in the open or in the toilet stall. The breakfast was very good overall however somewhat inconsistent. The first day there was materials on the buffet for waffles but no waffle maker. On the second day there were waffles. Apparently some food, both at breakfast and in the lobby, is only on weekdays not weekends which is odd since there are more guests on weekends and rates are usually higher. The location is right downtown though there's not much in the downtown area to take advantage of. Overall this hotel was a disappointment - next time we will stay elsewhere.

I found the service in this hotel to be above what I expected. Very reasonably priced. We were very pleasantly surprised by the value, quality and service in the restaurant. Everyone we interacted with was extremely helpful and friendly.

Room was neat, clean and comfortable. Internet was reliable. Breakfast was a great amenity. Bar was well stocked. Staff was helpful and professional. Front of hotel rooms were a bit noisy due to emergency response vehicles using Washington street a lot.

Arrived here on a miserable dull day,to be greeted by extremly friendly staff. Our room on the second floor was spotless with a fridge microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom looked as if it had just been renovated. The bed was very comfortable and the tv of excellent quality. Breakfast the next day was very good with everything we needed hot and cold and the area kept spotless by a very helpful young man.Plus it was in a ballroom,so not the usual crammed space.We will certainly be back here on our next shopping trip. The pool area..indoors... is huge and looked very inviting.

This is a larger Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly. Though some updates have been made more are needed especially the air conditioner units. The one in our room did not particularly work well and was noisy. The beds are comfortable and the hotel was clean. There is a good spread for breakfast though quality is not great and really need to Buffet lines for the size of the hotel. $80 a night is a good value more than that it's not worth it

Terrible, the sewer had backed up and given a basement room that stunk....the bathroom was not something I could use with the smell...so I left early am before 6 am....why place me in the basement when there were rooms not in the basement....also no elevator, only stairs so luggage I left in the car because I could not haul up and down the stairs......not a great hotel....

First I should say that the reception staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Beyond that . . . I suppose because we had our two dogs with us, we were put in a basement room, where the window looked onto the hotel's entrance circle, right by reception. There's nothing like feet and car tires going by the window to drive a herding dog crazy--which was our problem, solved by pulling the curtains, but it wasn't a pleasant view generally. Also, presumably because it was a pet room, the chemical smell of air freshener or whatever was practically knocked us out and was still pungent by morning. We've stayed with our pets at many hotels but haven't found that problem anywhere else. The bathroom was small but clean. The lighting in the room and throughout the hotel's public areas was that dim lighting that makes you feel as if you're going blind--certainly not good enough for reading. The breakfast room, too, was vast and under-lit. I really can't recommend this hotel until they pep it way up.

I have traveled all over , seen some bad hotels in my travels. Hostels included. This might have been worse. Let us start with the room. It was in the basement, basically a storage room. I can see cars rolling by to check in though our "window" . I would have to turn the tv on to sleep I dont hear the people load and unload their cars.The room had thin walls. I heard every door close and every conversation in the hallway. The staff was very short and when I asked if we can have some fresh towels , their response was "ugh yes we already know " .- that was my first time asking.When they came to give me the towels they banged on my door. I had a pet with me and was staying in a pet friendly room. I believe the strong smell in the room was from all the cover cleaners and air fresheners to mask the smell. I have stayed in many pet friendly rooms as well. This was below subpar. I will never come back to this best western .

The rooms had a bad foot type smell, the hot breakfast was cold, and the toasters didn't work properly, although the juices and coffee were good.The receptionists and maid service was very polite and helpful.

Terrible experience. We stay in lots of hotels for business and pleasure. This was a stop off on a trip home. Check in was late. Hotel looked scary pulling up. Wedding reception held there made the place appear as if it was not a hotel. ABSENT security. Poor lighting in parking lot that was behind the hotel. Entrance to hotel signs not visible if present. Pretty unnerving walking past a group of drunk men making lude comments to me. Carpets were filthy. Service was poor. Skipped the breakfast to just exit the hotel. Does not do the name Best Western justice.

This is a very nice clean hotel but the street rooms can be noisy at times. The front desk girls were very polite and helpful at check in., The breakfast buffet was good and had good selection of breakfast items.

We stayed at this Best Western while visiting the Thousand Islands. We have stayed in many Best Westerns and frankly, we were disappointed in this. We had a queen room at the far end of the lobby. Upon entering, there was a smell that reminded me of cigarette smoke, but my husband said it might be the cleaner. Once you got in the room it was okay. The room was certainly clean and modern enough. It even had a small fridge. The breakfast was a typical hotel chain breakfast and was certainly adequate. The breakfast room staff were very good. I use my phone and Ipad a lot. There was sketchy WiFi in the room and I couldn't use my Ipad. Getting on the WiFi was challenging and mostly was used in the lobby. There are also computers in the lobby. Depending on which ad you see, it states that there either is WiFi or there is WiFi in the lobby. So if WiFi is important ask for a room closer to the lobby. We were in the last one on the third floor. There is a restaurant there and we chose not to go to it. The location is good. Many military folks stay there as Fort Drum is only 8 miles away. One issue that I would like to bring up is that our friends were put in a pet friendly room. They couldn't stay there because of the smell. They requested another room and were given the statement - oh you are going to take it away from a soldier - which was not appropriate because the hotel is responsible for the rooms and if you are going to have a pet friendly room....there shouldn't be any smells of pets lingering. They were eventually given another room.

Nice hotel with great restaurant and parking. Very comfortable room! Our first choice when returning to Watertown, NY. The Wi-Fi worked well, the ice machine actually had ice in it, the décor was spotless.

A good m otel the, bed very comfortable, rooms were nice, buts bathroom was small, breakfast adequate. Check-in was good, desk clerk very accommodating for an early check-in. Maids on floor were ery helpful.

We stayed here a couple of nights in April. Only one person was working the desk and there were quite a few construction workers checking in at the time causing us to wait over 30 minutes to check in!! The halls and room was quite dark and dungie, Our window overlooked a roof. The room was quite warm for the time of year and the air conditioner did not work well. However, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable and it was close to my mom's new home. We will probably not stay again and will stay in one of the more modern hotels in the city next time.

This is a good hotel. It was clean and met all of our basic needs. The free breakfast is lacking significantly compared to other Best Westerns. There was no flavored yogurt, the scrambled eggs were HORRIFIC, the bread didn't fit in the toaster so my options were to have it half toasted or have the middle portion too well-done. Overall though, for convenience and value, it's a good pick.

Best Western was adequate for the purpose but parking is too in adequate for as many guests that stay there. It is a bit confusing as to where you can park for better access to your vehicle. Also the smoking around the entrances needs to be changed for non-smokers.

We stayed here two nights on a trip to Adirondaks. Room was not real modern but was clean, everything worked and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the best feature, lots of choices, lots of food and it was hot or cold as appropriate. We would stay here again and have in the past.

We were in the area to visit Alexandria Bay and chose to stay here as it was the closest Best Western. We had a great stay in a nice hotel with an efficient staff. The pool is very nice and the beds are very comfortable. It is close to Rt 81 and many stores and restaurants.

This was a business trip and I was very happy with the Best Western. The restaurant was excellent, the room comfortable, any questions I asked the staff were answered promptly and pleasantly. Will gladly use this hotel again for business or pleasure trip.

Price of room may seem a little high to some customers, but this is a solid hotel with respectively clean & modern rooms, and the location is excellent. The free breakfast is a nice bonus as well. The mattress could have been a little softer though ;)

We stayed here for a weekend. The hotel - King suite was fantastic. lots of room. (separate living room and bedroom) The staff were very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to or near Watertown.

Had the misfortune of staying here while girls softball teams were here. The girls acted like the hotel was their playground; ran up/down the halls, slamming doors, screaming, etc until late into the night! No supervision by the chaperones/parents.

Awesome, the staff was awesome , friendly and helpful. I felt so comfortable welcomed. I honestly can't say anything negative about my stay. It is in a prime location that was just what I needed. I plan on staying again!

Comfy bed, clean room, great price......we were pleasantly surprised. This was just an overnight to make a longer trip more enjoyable. We picked it becuz of its proximity to Maggie's on the river restaurant. Again, we were pleasantly surprised. We will be back

Make sure you check each Best Western hotel's cancellation policy when you make your reservation. Best Western does not have a consistent policy on this. Was not able to cancel a week before arriving and was still charged for the room. As a Best Western member, I was very disappointed.

Perfect for a downtown location and lots of parking. The overall appearance has seen better days, but it was clean. Staff was pleasant and friendly. We had a suite for the extra sleeping space and the linen for the fold-out couch was questionable. Our king bed was clean and comfortable. The refrigerator turned on but did not cool down. First shower experience began with the entire handle dropping into the tub. This handle was later secured, but the refrigerator was a lost cause. Breakfast was spread out across an entire wall, too spread out. Having to walk with a cane made getting breakfast an event. A second coffee/beverage station would help the long line. We will be returning this summer and hopefully some of these shortcoming will change.

The hotel staff are wonderful people, however the hotel is in such disrepair it gives the whole place a "dirty" feeling. so many things have been shoddily repaired that are glaringly obvious - i stayed here last year and thought it was a fluke, now I know they just do not take good care of their property. For the price, i would recommend somewhere else. i feel you could get the same level of quality for a much lower price point

the staff at the hotel were outgoing and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a nightmare, way too crowded, food was great if u could get any, ran out both days we were there. Kids running everywhere, elevator shut done because kids kept pushing all the button. people blow drying their hair at 3 in the morning with the door open, noisy hard to sleep. we were put on a floor with tons of kids and noisy people. the hotel should have put us somewhere else.

Stayed here for the night with my husband. Hotel was conviently located to downtown.the breakfast was really good for such a small hotel with a good selection and a lot of seating.the staff was super nice and really friendly.the rooms were very clean, not the most updated but very clean.The only downfalls wer the bathroom was very small but pretty updated. I would deff stay here again!

Not sure where to begin on this property. The stained and stinky carpets in the hallways, the dirty stairwells, the dated decor, the torn towels in the bathroom, the dusty room with the crooked mirror, the missing panels on the air conditioner. We requested a king size bed they gave us two doubles and then refused to change us because they said we booked through a third party website and not directly. I guess you're less of a guest if you book through a third-party website.

I never complain about anything but this hotel is brutal. Got to the room it was kinda gross, bed didn't seem that clean the room wasn't comfortable the bathroom was gross. Went out shopping and for dinner, came back and fell asleep around 10:30 pm. Got woken up by people having sex in what I thought was the next room but I went out in the hallway and it was from two rooms down. I'm no prude lol but i don't even feel like they were being that loud, just the hotel walls must be paper thin. Anyways I could hear them like I was in the room with them from my room it was even louder in the hall. Took an audio of it down to the front desk the girl was disgusted and said my room would be free. I never got my money back, I'm hoping they put the money to good use maybe some new walls or people that can clean the rooms better. I would never stay there again it's gross

The hotel lobby, halls and room was very clean. Polite front desk staff. Excellent location. Pool was very warm. Breakfast was set up nicely with space for people to sit at tables. I would stay at this hotel again.

Lovely hotel offering clean, cozy rooms & excellent amenities with professional, courteous, accommodating staff, who go out of their way to assure a comfortable stay. Located in the Downtown area assures easy access to all local sights. Highly recommended.

Every single person in the hotel went out of their way to help. The room was excellent. The price was excellent. The area was very, very nice. I was travelling the I-81N and the hotel was a long distance from the highway, but totally worth the trip. 2 very small problems: 1) Pillows were not comfortable 2) Shampoo and conditioner should be separate...not good quality. Otherwise...GREAT VALUE.

The hotel is good but some things have started to go downhill. The breakfast has been getting worse every time we have been back,as we do try to stay here at least once or twice each summer. I know they advertise the breakfast as one reason to stay with them, compared to a continental breakfast. But truthfully it's not much above a continental breakfast any more. The pool is very nice and clean and the room is as well so no issue with that and the personal were great. So I guess my only complaint is breakfast when you stay two or three days it would be nice to see a little better selection. I know most people wouldn't care about this for a night, but I think it's worth a mention to management.

Stayed for three nights; walk to downtown; check in staff knowledgeable; on site restaurant had slow service, but good food; common areas and our room were very clean; beds were comfortable; walls were a bit thin and we could hear the person in the next room coughing; bathroom is compact and the drains were slow. In places, the age of this place is showing a bit, but we had no issues at all and would stay here again happily.

Otherwise Average . NOT for Handicapped People . Ramps used to get around downstairs to get to breakfast, after you use ramps to get out of building. Handicapped rooms are the suites at far ends of building from the elevator. Breakfast area at far end of building. This hotel was retro fitted for handicapped.

Clean, friendly,and reasonably priced in the center of town. Great breakfast in large breakfast room Walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. 5 mins to the river walkway. The bed was a little soft for my liking but husband was quite happy with it.

I recently booked a 1 night stay at this hotel. I made sure to purchase the cancelation insurance incase something came up. I did not have to pay for the room ahead of time, only when I arrived at the front desk. The night before something came up and I had to cancel. They allowed me to cancel until 6:00pm the day of. I received a cancelation email stating I will not be charged and that I successfully canceled my reservation. Saturday rolls around and of course I get charged for a 1 night stay. I called the head office and of course no history of cancelation and I have it right in front of me. I still have not received my money back. I cannot review on the hotel itself as I have never actually been there.

The décor of the hotel was luxurious. The room was decorated in good taste and comfortably. The is also a fitting room and swimming pool. The service and food of the in-house restaurant was very good and generous. It was a very good value over all. It was a very pleasant experience for me.

The only thing I found wrong was the slamming doors in the morning when your trying to sleep in. Besides that everything was very good. Friendly staff, nice place to stay. Not far from shopping area..

Convenient to Fort Drum . Close to mid level shopping and fast food. Restaurant on site has good food. Clean, staff friendly and accommodating . Furnished breakfast is good. This is where we will continue to stay when in area.

Room was clean. Employees were helpful and friendly. Bed was very comfortable....and I'm very particular. No slamming doors to wake me up during the night. It was very quiet and comfortable. It was a great value. Reasonably priced. I couldn't have asked for more!

This hotel is away from the shopping area in the heart of Watertown. The Manager and staff go out of there way to provide you with great service. The room is modern and clean, amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, deodorant and shampoo is made available in the room, excellent internet, the beds are sooooo comfortable and it is like home away from home. Each time we go, further improvements are made. Congratulations Christine on everything you have done to make this hotel what it is.

Seems like rooms have been updated in the last 5 years or so as well as bathroom fixtures etc., but the wear and tear (even the updated items) is pretty significant. Hallways are dingy, free breakfast is just so-so and service can be spotty (sometimes they answer a call from the room, sometimes not). Also, beware that all the rooms are either heat OR a/c. They can only be controlled centrally, so... if your room faces the sun and gets heated up, there is no way to turn on the a/c unless the whole property is on a/c.

The hotel was GREAT!! We were able to check in early . . . AND get into our room!! Room was very nice -- and comfortable bed/pillow!! It included a fridge and m/w! Loved it!! We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant - Savory! GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! What we didn't know is that they had a band in the bar area!! OUTSTANDING BAND!! Such a nice night we had!! In the morning . . . weren't sure if we were going to have breakfast before our long trip home, so we were each offered a complimentary GRAB AND GO bag which consisted of a bottle of water, apple and two granola bars!! PERFECT!!! But we did end up going in for the breakfast . . . a GREAT hot breakfast was offered as well as cereals and all the regular breakfast buffet type items -- complimentary!! Very very pleasant front desk staff!! We would definitely go back to this hotel if we were in the area!! Thank You Best Western Fort Drum!!

This hotel is well located in central Watertown, opposite a lovely church, but that is where the loveliness ends. The lift is vintage as is the hotel's decor and "vulgarlure" carpet. There is NO air conditioning with a fan unit of 1980's vintage slow coughs out a wisp of air, therefore you have to open the windows, in our case facing westwards in to the sun. As a result of people opening the windows to get fresh air the rain pours through on to the sill and all the wall paper below is peeling and moldy. This is major concern for asthmatics as I definitely got a reaction, since one can smell the mold. The doors that need to be slammed shut otherwise some can just walk into to your room. The parking is very open to the public, we had local people milling around until about 2 am since there was live music on until that time. I wouldn't stay here again even if Best Western paid me, it is not worthy of the name.

Overall great hotel to stay at and confidently located. Loved the amenities and the breakfast was good too. Lots of nice staff and accommodating. Room was nice and clean. Bathroom clean. Will come again!

Was here for one night and the front desk staff were fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. On the day we were leaving I needed a map printing and the lady behind the counter was able to print it off for me. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Also comes with fridge and a microwave. They offer a free breakfast which was ok, they had quite a bit of selection in case anyone is a picky eater. The also have a pool and exercise room on the 2nd floor if you need to unwind. It is located 10 minutes off the interstate Free parking as well

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Best Western.The rooms are a very nice size and comfortable. Very clean.We booked two rooms this trip.My son was married right across the street at City Hall.They had a beautiful suite .We took a regular room.We had a dinner at the restaurant connected to the hotel.Great food and service.Breakfast was very good with both hot and cold items .Very clean and organized.Plenty of places to set.Check in was quick and easy.Check out just as smooth.For the money, you just can't beat this place.

Last hotel stay before reaching home in Quebec. We stayed here every year for the last three or four year. Service is very good and hotel has a huge free parking which makes it easier for us. Rooms, however will soon need updating. Nice place to stay.

This hotel is going down hill! They used to offer canadian cash at par. then they took that away. jacked up prices and to add icing to the cake, on Easter Sunday, they did not serve anything special for breakfest. they used to have waffles, no longer on weekend! Not even for Easter Sunday. Shame on you!

Every time we stay, there is something wrong. No hot water, no towels, room not cleaned, no adjoining door, clogged bathtub, etc. Never all at once. But we stay here once or twice a year and each year something is wrong. Staff is always very friendly. The only reason we continue to stay is the convenience of being across the road from our venue.

no hot water for showers, heater extremely loud noises and smelled, power going off when using more than one or two outlets. The staff were very nice but seem over stretched and can not keep up with all the problems the rooms have nor the cleaning.

Walking distance from downtown and the historic Arcade (the second oldest indoor mall in American), this place offers big comfortable rooms. There is a good restaurant on site with a bar open until 9. Good fitness facility, free parking, nearby services--can't complain!

Great staff. Very friendly and hard working. They do everything they can to help you out. Kira at the front desk never stopped moving. Always cleaning and helping the guests. The workers at breakfast were making sure things were taken care of too.

Stayed two nights for black Friday shopping and will most likely do it again. Front desk staff were exceptional. Rooms were fine and clean. Shower a little weak on water pressure. First time staying downtown and I think that I will try and do it more often in small towns like this one. Like the feeling of the historic buildings.

This place is a gem. Staff are helpful, rooms are nice furniture is up to date, they have a good selection of free DVD movies, lots of parking, restaurant has fabulous wings! And the nightclub regularly has live music. Great place filled with a lot of 20-30 something's on the night I was there

Heating didn't work properly nor did the mini fridge. Wireless internet was pathetic. Vending machines weren't stocked well and very overpriced. Carpet was dirty and furniture outdated. The pool was moldy and cold. No hot tub. Requested another room since my reservation was to a room with a huge stain on the floor and smelled like a wet dog and feces. Restaurant closed at 10. Never located the bar. Concert held in the LL during my stay that made it very noisy. This by far was the worst experience. Junkies walking around the hotel and digging through the dumpster for scrap metal.

What a great hotel. Staff as always are very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is wonderful. Large space typed room which was exceptionally clean. This hotel offers free internet (that actually works), large screen television, exercise room and pool, and lastly a restaurant on site.

Pleased with the location, the lounge meals and specials and the heated pool. The staff were very pleasant and informative at check-in. Our room was very quiet, clean and offered a generous flat screen tv.

Spent last weekend at BW in Watertown. I found the hotel clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was excellent, and we enjoyed the pool. Only downsides were a door to our room that stuck badly - really hard to open and close, and we had a hard time regulating heat in the room - it was either too cool, or too warm. Neither problem deal breakers, will definitely stay here again!

My wife wanted to do our Christmas shopping. We stayed here for the weekend. Room is nice, bed was fine. Pillows were awful, they're small square couch pillows. If we came back out here for shopping we'd stay at the other end of town. All the good chain restaurants and shopping is down there. This place is about 3km away.

This was our third stay at this hotel, and this stay was much better than the last ones. They have a new General Manager and the staff is friendlier and the hotel is cleaner. The breakfast was good. Check in and check out was easy. We will stay there again

This hotel was awful. Pure old school no updates. The walls were so thin you could hear people next door having sex in the middle of the night. So poorly soundproofed that you could hear them from the hall. Which means what else could you hear. The hotel needs total upgrades. When we first got there it was a little early. Check in was 3pm and we got there it was almost 1. My husband got told very rude that we could check in but it would cost us 34 dollars on top of the 98 that we were paying to stay there. 34 dollars!! For being 2 hrs early. Are you kidding me. Lol. And the floor that we stayed on also stunk like perfume. My husband thought it smelled more like chlorine. But either way it shouldn't smell that bad. The ceilings were awful too. Old and dingy. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ever!!!! Will not be going back that's for sure

Although I was disappointed to learn that the saunas have been discontinued my stay was still good. This hotel over the last 20 years has always been consistently my choice in Watertown NY. It was better when the on site restaurant was operated by the hotel. Still since the change the service and product although less than good at first has improved signifigantly

Our second stay here. Very comfortable rooms with fridge microwave and coffee in room. The wifi is free and the breakfast included with room is generous. Bacon eggs fries fruit porridge yogurt waffles coffee juice etc. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We asked for adjoining rooms which were not available the first night but they made it happen for the second night. We will come back.

Nice rooms, nice breakfast, but desk staff is not very interested in assisting you more than absolutely necessary.Housekeeping staff was wonderful and couldnt do enough for us. Heat and AC was easily adjusted to our preferences.

We have visited our son stationed at Drum several times and have stayed here a few. We have not been disappointed yet. Queen beds a little smaller but comfortable. Micro,mini fridge,large tv , nice bathroom, double queen unit. Nice added bonus is HOT cookies in the evening. Good free breakfast. The staff was friendly and courteous. Satisfied with the stay. my second stay here and was very comfortable. TV was good to watch the debate, The hot breakfast buffet was plentiful, and nice to have a swim inside. Parking on premises, and I would highly recommend. I had zero problem with noise.

We stayed one saturday night over the Canadian thanksgiving, and I'm so happy i booked elsewhere for the sunday. The pool area was completely shut down, "ruined for everyone", said the barely apologetic front desk staff. I can only assume that meant some sort of biological incident. My main issue, though, was being repeatedly woken throughout the night by slamming doors. The noise from the hall sounded like it was coming from inside my bathroom it was so loud. The room itself was very nice, with a modern sophisticated style. The beds were doubles, but that was all that was possible given the compact size of the room. The parking lot was similarly tight. Avoid it if you've got a larger vehicle.

This was the 5th Best Western we've stayed at this year, and by far the best. Our 2 double bed room though small, was clean and included a microwave and refrigerator. But, the room rate was considerably less expensive then the next level of room. The facility included a small pool, fitness center and excellent restaurant. In fact, we were given a $10 coupon toward dinner which we enjoyed while listening to live entertainment. An upscale breakfast was included.

This was my third time staying here and is my go-to hotel in Watertown. Good location downtown and even our 20 minute walk to Pete's Restaurant (which was great) was nice. We were able to check-in early and enjoyed drinks at The Savory Restaurant as well as the breakfast.

Second time at this hotel. Excellent hotel for the value. Staff was great, I had so many questions and kept asking and interrupting the nice lady checking us in. She was so nice, didn't get angry and answered everything. Breakfast was good very busy, but great we didn't have to stop and grab food on the way home. We will stay here again.

awesome beds and they offered us free dvds to watch movies in our room. Nice soft towels and of course i alomost forgot... a fridge and a microwave in room...great coffee in room also available ...definitely will book here again

Great value, clean, updated rooms. Friendly staff. Low step in over tub, and high shower head were great for me - tall with bad knees! Bar was great, with a solo singer playing guitar. Food and prices were great, and the hotel gives each person a $10 voucher. Hallways were a little noisy

desk clerk upon check in made sure that our request was fulfilled, we got breakfast even though we were late in the mornings. the shower was awesome. the one thing i did not like was day 2 the beds were not made very nice and smooth, i found that very disappointing. i usually leave a tip and i didn't this time

We love staying at this facility. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They are able to recommend places to visit and local establishments that we might enjoy. Their lounge is nice, the food is great. The entertainment starts at 7 on Fridays. It has been a singer on the last two visits. They have been great.

The good: the lobby area was nice. The staff on arrival were very nice and helpful. The room was as expected. Very clean and well appointed. It seems as if it was recently renovated, maybe within the last year. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold items. Arriving near the end of breakfast time our second morning found the eggs and meat both still hot and plentiful. The bad: carpets in hallways appeared to be quite filthy, perhaps just from being old. The carpeting on the stairs from the parking lot to our room on the south side of the hotel were disgusting. Not only did they appear to be extremely dirty, whatever material that was under it was lifting. It was like walking on a rough gravel walkway. If it were not for the 24hr before arrival cancellation policy we would have left on seeing the stairwell. We wouldn't even have gotten into the room, which I admit was very good. Renos are badly needed in these areas.

Well, maybe, its location which is 10 minutes drive away from the shops and restaurants on Arsenal St. It's in sleepy downtown Watertown, not astride highway 81. Anyway, our Friday night stay was great -- our room was comfortable, spacious, clean, with a mini fridge, microwave, iron, coffee maker, etc. Complimentary breakfast (served from 6 am) fare included make-your-own waffle (meaning, fresh), bagels, omelettes, and sausages. Free parking. Re downtown location -- really restful (on a Friday early evening and Saturday morning), plus, Watertown's Roswell Flower Memorial Library (229 Washington St.) is close by, as well as Agappe Shoppe (136 Court St.), one of Watertown's thrift shops, where I found perfectly good costume jewelry for almost nothing. Compared with other hotels in same class, Best Westerns provides great value. Yes, we will return when in the area.

Everything was great The pool was nice and heated. The suites are spacious. I had seen an Otis cookie maker in the back. I wish they served cookies on the weekends. The hotel is in town which was in walking distance of the riverwalk area and close to some of the artists participating in the NNY arts trail

We traveled to Watertown to shop and stayed here on October 5, 2016. We bought the hotel online for $66 USD on the Best Western website (less than Priceline's price) so obviously we were a little nervous arriving because it was such a great price and included breakfast. PROS: Free parking Clean modern room Free (delicious) breakfast (that included a diy waffle bar) $10 off voucher to the hotel restaurant form the front desk (very good food) Free dvds to rent from desk Quiet and clean pool. CONS: (if you consider them cons because honestly they weren't) Downtown so it's not right off the I-80 but it was only a 5 minute drive from the mall. Bathroom is smaller than a regular hotel room but it didn't make any difference to us at all. I will 100% stay again and would recommend to anyone.

Weddings are very stressful to plan out and coordinate, but this hotel was a god sent! When ever we would meet with the staff to talk about the big weekend and our block of rooms, we always felt welcomed and cared for. Everyone in our group agreed that checking was handled seamlessly, their rooms exceeded their expectations for how inexpensive they were, and the Savory bar was the perfect place to end the night. Also to note, this hotel is located right off public square and is just a short drive from downtown! If you're planning a wedding, and want a great place to end your night in Watertown NY, my wife and I would highly recommend this hotel!

Location is handy to down town. Staff are friendly. The hotel is clean and the beds comfortable. We had a problem with the noise and pressure of the shower which should have been noticed and fixed before anyone used the room. The restaurant in the hotel is awful. Woken up about 3am with a fire alarm which some idiot set off for fun! Disappointing experience.

When I checked in the person at the desk was very pleasant. When I open the door to the room I was very pleased at how clean it was and so were my grandsons. When in came time to eat we had a good choice of restaurants close by. The grandsons loved the swimming pool. I was surprised to see it was not busy and we felt like we had our on private pool to swim in. We also thought the breakfast was one of the best around. I have travel and have stayed in all types of motels and this was one of the best ever. I would return if I am in the area again.

We booked last minute on the day we were checking in and were able to get an amazing deal at this Best Western. It's not far from downtown Watertown, and with free parking, it made it easy for us to come and go. I was hoping for a hotel with a pool and I was really pleased with the indoor pool here. It was very clean, warm, and it's like a solarium with big windows and partial glass ceiling, so it was really bright. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room had a mini-fridge and a microwave.

Great hotel, friendly, talkative front desk staff. Hotel is lovely, albeit a bit tired in it's decor. They have a "sleep well" program where you can get earplugs, eye masks or special pillows. Unfortunately though, we were in a room right above an entrance which pounded loudly when it closed. Very clean though - our bathroom smelled like it had just been cleaned for the entire visit. The pool was comfortably heated, very shallow, but nice. Pool area clean. Best thing about this hotel though is the breakfast. Large selection - there was bacon, eggs with cheese, hash browns, oatmeal "bar", waffle irons, a yogurt "bar", and then a selection of toppings, pastries, cereals and fruit. One of the best breakfasts I've seen at a hotel in a long while.

We chose this hotel for it's location and value. You can't beat the price. $89.00 is great for any New York hotel. Everything about this hotel was acceptable and I would stay here again, but there are a few tips for management that might make it a better place. Here are the good points: 1. Nice amenities in the room such as a sizeable frig, microwave, coffee maker, dvd player, very large TV. 2. Beds adequately comfortable. 3. Bathroom equipment working well. 4. Free breakfast was also a plus but could use just a few improvements (see below). 5. Wonderful staff - friendly, helpful 6. Nice downtown location. Here are the things that could be improved or that you should watch out for. 1. The sound proofing is not great. It is possible to hear most of what is going on in the hallway. We did not stay on a noisy night, but it could be problematic on other nights. I'm not sure the hotel can fix this easily, but try for a room that is away from the elevator. 2. There are many public spaces that do not have any natural light. Given the lack of natural light, the hotel could do a lot to improve the lighting and overall ambiance. The breakfast area was dismally dark. Surprisingly, the stairwells were nicer than other hotels because there were windows here. The overall design of the hotel dictates many poorly lit spaces. This makes them rather uninviting. 3. The pool area also suffers from lack of decor, lighting, etc. It's a rather barren place with no potted plants (real or fake). We did not swim because it was so unappealing. I suspect it is was totally fine, but we did not want to spend time in that pool area. It is also lacking a hot tub/spa. 4. Breakfast - great waffles, eggs, bacon, etc., but barely any fruit/juice and no yogurt. Just adding these 3 items would be a huge bonus. 5. The hotel is quite clean, but needs some of that deep cleaning that comes from cleaning/replacing the hallway carpets (super ugly). 6. There is evidence of water damage in some areas. Room 334 has water stains on the ceiling. This is easily remedied with some special primer and paint. The floor in the breakfast area had a noticeable hump that was also caused by some sort of water problem. 7. The parking is confusing since there are lots on both sides. Perhaps some signage could help or we just missed it. 8. For smokers, there is no ash can/disposal outside the door to the parking lot. This meant that there were a lot of cigarette buts lying around. Just adding some ash cans or moving them away from the door would help.

The building was quite large so I had fears of too much noise. However there was little or noise in the area and it was a Saturday night. The hotel staff were clean and friendly. Close to downtown but easily available to highway access.

we booked a room king size. it included a fridge and stove. it also included a free hot breakfast in the morning. we also ate supper there and as well as been tasty they were large. we had enough left over to take back to canada for the next nights supper. room was clean and comfertable

This is our first visit to this Best Western property. The first impression is that the building has been re-purposed at some time in the past into the hotel of today. The front arrival portico is easily accessed by car but from that point on, things became difficult : No automatic doors or handicapped access concessions...Just plain swing doors. We stepped into the lobby, expecting to get a luggage trolley but found none available. My wife checked us in and we were asked if stairs would cause us a problem, which they do. The lobby of the hotel features two wings of rooms to left and right of the front desk, each requiring a half-flight of stairs up to access. We opted for an other room which we would be able to access in the single small elevator, once I moved my car to the back door, necessitating a trip around the block. I arrived in this back lot only to find a 'Load Zone" that an airlock of double doors without automation, followed by a maze of stairs or the choice of a narrow interior ramp paralleling the interior stairs, obviously added years later. It would not be suitable for a mobility scooter or a wheelchair, not to mention a gurney for an ambulance should there be such a need. It wouldn't take a standard luggage trolley but there were two shopping cart sized platforms that were shaped to make the turns on the ramp, IF you were careful and there was no overhanging luggage. Once we unloaded and negotiated this maze, we were back in the lobby and on our way up to our room on the third floor. Let me say at this point, the hotel is certainly well-kept and appointed for a building that looks as if it might have been built in the 1960's or earlier and maybe for another purpose. The room we were assigned was up to expectations, though getting into the washroom with its outward swinging door was a bit of a side-step/shuffle routine. Beds were fine and the rest of the room amenities were as expected ... with the exception of the 'free' wifi ... Four devices with us and NONE would access the router assigned to that floor. A call to the front desk, reporting the Error messages that called for the HOTEL router to be rebooted, something we certainly could not do, was met with an admission by the clerk, who seemed to be working alone, that she had no idea what needed to be done. So, we went without WiFi, creating a bit of a bobble for us to communicate our arrival to family members as we had agreed we would. The complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning was well-done, re-stocked when needed and altogether matched that offered in other chains like Hampton Inn. Accessibility and ease of move-in/move-out needs some work. It's hard to believe the main doors aren't equipped with openers in this environment. There are three parking lots, each with an inadequate number and distribution of handicapped parking. It appears standard spots have just been marked and so designated without regard to the needs of people with walkers, scooters or wheelchairs. There are no signs, just blue pavement markings that likely wouldn't be easily seen in winter. Spaces allocated are not near the main doors. In fact, one space was so narrow we joked it would be suitable only for handicapped motorcyclists. We are not quite in need of walkers etc but I do use a cane. Distance to the door, stairs, double doors and lintels to be negotiated are annoying in comparison to other hotels. Had we been able to access a luggage trolley at the front doors, as most hotels offer, a great deal of pushing and bumping to get the luggage over lintels and through double doors could have been avoided. There is no concierge or bell hop service. The WiFi difficulty was frustrating at the time AND the following day at the next destination because of all the guesswork with our device settings that had to be undone, by we, a senior couple who, while not technofeebs, just found we had another problem to solve x4 devices, created 24hrs earlier at the Best Western Fort Drum! In sum : While the price and complimentary breakfast, room and its amenities were up to expectations, the WiFi and accessibility issues need attention to meet current levels of service in competing hotel chains. One last minor gripe : There was no sign of any recycling efforts. Anywhere. The buffet was serviced completely with disposable plates, cups and cutlery. Even soda cans went in the garbage. The back parking lots could benefit from garbage cans, judging from the coffee cups and beer bottles discarded on stairs and into the garden plantings.

We just travel with B.W.hotels as our place to stay and this hotel became one of our favorites.Not too far from Montreal where we live,close to an enormous shopping plaza on Rte 3,close also to some Parks with beaches on Lake Ontario and we love the village of Sackets Harbor.The hotel is a beautiful building with enormous hallways,nicely decorated.There is a heated pool and a work-out room.Breakfast is excellent and you get a newspaper every day.You also can have a video for your room at the front-desk...and cookies at around 5....For us it is a beautiful place and Watertown must have about 20 churches and nice parks.

Excellent helpful staff from reservations to check-out. Always a friendly greeting when entering the lobby or breakfast area. Genuinely concerned that you enjoyed your stay. The facility is older but well maintained, clean and comfortable. An excellent value.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and it keeps getting better. What we liked very much were the very clean rooms as well as having a restaurant on site. As you know, Best Western supplies breakfast but this one also gave a $10.00 meal voucher for the restaurant, the Savory which is attached to the hotel and has an excellent menu. We love it in Watertown and will also make this hotel our choice.

Fantastic food, comfortable beds, welcoming receptionist, staff making sure you have everything you need. Canadian dollar at par. excellent breakfast. we will be returning. Looking froward to man =y more trips.

I was in town for a wedding and a group of us stayed at the hotel. The wedding reception was held in one of the meeting rooms and was catered by The Savory restaurant attached to the hotel. Overall the service and staff were amazing and the food was delicious.

The hotel is beautifully decorated with an excellent staff. The room we reserved was on the underground floor due to the hotel's pet policy which was a little inconvenient for this elderly physically challenged couple. Overall, a lot of stairs are involved throughout even when the elevator is used. The free breakfast was well varied and well serviced, with quality food. The restaurant/lounge was excellent,great service,quality food,huge portions,reasonable pricing and daily vouchers at the front desk. The rooms are spacious,with comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities,refrigerator,microwave,iron and board, TV, and good free wifi. The pool is indoors and on the second floor,heated with spa and a fitness room,very nice.A fun fact about the location of the hotel is that not only are you within walking distance of all sorts of downtown activities but on Wednesdays a Farmers Market is held directly across the street.Don't miss it!!

Every staff person we encountered spoke to us and offered their assistance. From the front staff to the cleaning crew everyone was so nice. The hotel was great. The pool was nice and breakfast was a nice addition. Definitely will be back here when we come to Watertown or the surrounding area.

Property is central to downtown and numerous eateries are within a 5 minute drive. Staff was exceptionally friendly and that included front desk personnel all the way to the Housekeeping Staff. Common areas of the hotel are showing their age a bit but the room I stayed in was immaculate. Nice firm mattresses on the beds and pristine linen. The wireless internet was extremely fast and reliable. Overall - I would soundly recommend this property.
