I got charged unnecessary fees after checking out and accidentally leaving my credit card. The front desk assured me it was in the mail, but didn't receive it after a week and had to cancel it. There was no maid service. I wouldn't stay here ever again.

"PHENOMENAL service"

Our group of 6 adults stayed in this hotel while exploring 1000 Islands area. You say the hotel is only place to get some sleep and frankly I don't remember a lot of them because they were just OK, Best Western Watertown Fort Drum is something else. The hotel is just average Best Western type, clean well equipped rooms, excellent breakfast etc., but customer service.... boy-oh-boy phenomenal-fantastico-exellente!!!!!! Kili at the reception made our already pleasant stay to be exceptional, her passion for the area, and customer service is what we are going to remember. Thank You Kili!! Note for travelers staying there on weekends: this is downtown of Watertown, Not many places to get a bite to eat before the evening hours and most of stores closed.

"Don't Assume they Will Clean Your Room Every Day"

The hotel was centrally located in downtown Watertown. The room was large and had all the amenities. The fitness room was superb with free weight dumbbells (hard to find in many hotel fitness rooms), although one of the machines was not working. The free internet, free breakfast, and free parking were all available. However, there was no cleaning service for the room for two days in a row. No clean sheets or clean towels for two days. I complained at the front desk and they noted what I said, but offered no apology.

Rooms are clean and neat. Place is a bit dated but really quite nice. The pool is excellent and the complimentary breakfast is above average. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can't park your bikes under their awning. Fire code was given as the reason. Lots of free parking.

The Carport out front is just a stop and go area it is not meant for parking and it is a no parking zone for Safety Emergency vehicles only. We look forward to seeing you again.

Accommodations are average, not great, but not a dive either. In need of updating!! Upon arrival there was a miscommunication; we were short sleeping accommodations. The check in clerk did everything possible to help us settle in. Elevator was sketchy! Breakfast staff Marcus and Lucas are 5 star!! Friendly! Accommodating! And the food was fresh and stocked! They quickly clear tables and clean up spills! All the while smiling! They really made the stay worth while! I would likely stay here again.

"Friendly Staff Overcome Deficiencies"

Let's start with the fact that we were so pleased with our stay here that we have already booked a weekend away for November 2018. Check-in was a smooth and painless process. The front desk clerk, Kili, although unable to alleviate some issues within the hotel was both helpful and apologetic. The hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays. Kili apologized for the inconvenience and offered to assist patrons in finding a nearby place to eat. The swimming pool "broke down" the day before maintenance was scheduled to begin. Although it was not her fault, Kili explained the situation and apologized for the situation. When we had questions or needed further assistance, she was there. She went above and beyond what we have come to expect from front desk personnel and was cheerful the entire time. In the lobby, there are coffee, tea (both decaf and regular) and instant hot chocolate available. As well, there are cookies. These complimentary items are more than welcome when arriving after a long day on the road. The room was clean. The mattress comfortable. The best part of the stay, besides the friendly staff, was the breakfast. The scrambled eggs are made with real eggs!!! To quote my husband, "It's the best breakfast that we've had provided by a hotel." I only wish that there had been yogurt available. As I wrote at the beginning, our stay was so pleasant after one night that we plan a return visit and stay in order to tour the Watertown area.

We needed a hotel close to Ft. Drum that was within budget. From the initial booking call to the calls that we were going to be late, to the actual late check in, Christine was friendly and sympathetic and made that whole experience easier. Breakfast was plentiful with fun staff, the room was spacious with a comfortable bed, the hotel was more grand and had more to offer than we originally realized. Check out was a snap. Would definitely stay here again.

"Friendly service, skanky hotel"

Check in was fast and the worker was soooo nice and friendly. Had a welcome cookie and it was good. Hotel was a bit rundown. Weird smell, chips and chunks out of doors and floors. The beds were not comfortable. Lumpy. AC did not work well. Was warm most of the night even though I set it to 67. WiFi never worked. Would never bring up the network at all.

The bathroom and foyer floors are being renovated right now and we are currently on the third floor but should be finished in a month, that way there will be no more chips that you spoke of. Staff were pleasant, breakfast good. Pet friendly area and rooms smelled strongly of urine, stains on carpet, moisture in air(carpet cleaningothes and slippers felt damp), cobwebs, spider and ant on linen, questionable clean linens at start of stay, fridge caked ice and pooling water. Perhaps pulling carpet would be a better way to keep the stink down and dehumidifier to keep moisture out of air.

From the manager Christine to the cleaning staff, everyone is welcoming and great! The check-in personnel are always efficient and inviting. Everyone greats you by name and asks if there is anything they can do to make your stay better. It really feels like a home away from home. Which is nice, as I stay for months at a time.

"Do not arrive on Sunday"

We were on the third leg of our road trip and booked a night there. Ok my gosh. Do not go on a Sunday because it's like a ghost town. Nothing is open except for a pizza place. We had to drive to another town to get some food in a food court that was closing at 6 pm. Watertown wasn't that great and we saw lots of people hanging in the street. The hotel was ok. A bit dated. The check in staff very accommodating and helpful and the young man in the restaurant at the breakfast is really chatty and helpfu too. Not a lot of choices at breakfast if you are a vegetarian. Bit pricey for what you get.

Thank you for your recent stop in our Historical Downtown Watertown area. My apologies that you were not informed about all the wonderful local and chain restaurants that were literally right up the street less than 5 minutes away. There is so much to do in Watertown and the surrounding areas. Just a lovely walk downtown and to the River walk, or up to the Thompson Park is breathtaking, I will be sure to discuss this with the front desk staff to ensure they are informing our guests on what and where to go. I hope you will give us another chance to show you are beautiful area.

They are usually pretty good. This not a Best Western plus. The room was tiny and full of furniture. The pool was out of order and the breakfast was pretty bad like a Comfort Inn, which I won't go to anymore. The staff were pleasant.

Upon arriving in back lobby entrance, trash piled up and strewn in parking lot, attracting flies - very unappealing. Breakfast good. Computers in lobby not working or is extremely slow. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast hot and cold items. Hotel is historic, but still needs to be renovated and updated. Third floor had construction going on.

We were traveling for leisure and only stayed one night on our way to Canada. The front desk staff, breakfast stand were AMAZING! The hotel was clean, staff and guests were friendly, and food at breakfast was INCREDIBLE!

Grew up in Watertown so I am very much aware of how old this building is but with that it is very well kept up. Continental Breakfast is what you would expect but the size of the room it is held in makes it seem much better since you are not on top of each other. Close to the Square and easy to access so it is a plus..

We used the coupon out of the coupon book and they honored it.This hotel is right down town and very close to all malls and restaurants. Full hot breakfast, swimming pool, exercise room and snacks at 5.

"Stuck in the Elevator!"

First, my husband and daughter were trapped in the elevator for 35 minutes! This happened 5 minutes after we checked in. The staff knew the elevator was not running properly and she actually laughed at them after they got them out! The sheets were disgusting(I did take a picture. I called to request new sheets and the front desk put me on hold for 20 minutes. I didn't dare take the elevator to the front desk so I just slept on top of them. The housekeeping never cleaned our room! The beds were not made! She left me a note stating there were no more towels available and would bring fresh ones when they were finished. At 9:45pm I went to the front desk and they were gracious enough to give me 2 regular towels and 2 pool towels! UGH...and to boot...I have to pay for this. Ridiculous. The only positive thing in this hotel was the staff and food at breakfast. The two gentlemen working the breakfast were wonderful!

"Quick weekend visit"

Very beautiful lobby & event center. While the rooms were very average with the older Best Western decor, appliances and Tv's. The pool was a bit boring for the older kids as the depth is only 4'6" and the frog slide for the smaller kids had no water running through it. The bathrooms in the pool area were very cool & well placed! The staff was very friendly and helpful. With a few physical adjustments i would have given a 5. Overall- I definitely would recommended this hotel and will use it again whenever we are in Watertown.

We stayed here 2 nights July 13 & 14, 2018. We were gone Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. When we got back we were tired and first our keys did not work and had to be reset. Once we got in room our room had been untouched - beds not made, garbage still full, towels on the floor. Our room was never serviced. I went to front desk and all they could do was give me email address for manager. We were told there was no manager there in charge. I sent an email to [email protected] address I was given stating our disappointment and NEVER even got a reply with an apology. When we checked out next morning we were told again that there was no manager there in charge. Who is running this place- apparently nobody. Also took a 10 minute shower and when done was standing in 3inches of water; took over 1/2 for water to go down. On a good note the breakfast staff was very accommodating and friendly. However, this has left me with never wanting to stay at any Best Western again.

"Great location, but too many stairs and very poor service!"

I chose this hotel because it was near the library and the newspaper where I was doing research in archival materials. My sister and I are both in our 70s but we're able bodied and there were simply too many stairs to navigate with even a small suitcase. There is an elevator to the second floor and the below grade floor, but the first floor has a set of stairs in both wings which we couldn't avoid. Eating the complimentary breakfast also involved additional stairs. I am a lap swimmer,so when we checked in I asked if towels would be available at the pool. I was told yes. The first time I swam, there was only one clean towel, so I reminded the front desk to keep the pool towels stocked. The second time I swam, there were no clean towels and I had to return to my room to grab one. I reminded them again at the front desk to stock towels by the pool. The third time I swam, I took my own towel from the room, which was necessary because, again, there were no clean towels by the pool. The pool was also closed one entire day because the water had been contaminated. The clock by the pool was an hour behind the correct time. The hotel erroneously thought we were checking out a day earlier than our reservation and they didn't bother to clean our room or provide fresh towels. We also could not gain access to our room because our e-keys no longer opened the door. Since the housekeeping staff had gone home by the time we discovered the error, we had to wait for other staff to provide us with clean towels. The hotel had a sign in the bathroom about "Saving the Planet" by reusing our towels, but they provided only two very small towel bars for hanging up towels. TOWELS DO NOT DRY WELL IN BETWEEN USES WHEN FOLDED UP TIGHTLY ON TOWEL BARS! HOTELS SHOULD PROVIDE HOOKS FOR THE PURPOSE, including placing hooks outside of the bathroom, where they will also dry more quickly. We are happy to reuse towels and save the planet but cannot do so without plenty of towel hooks! There was only one electrical outlet in the bathroom, but it was hard to find, since the towels hanging on a small towel bar obscured it from our view. When we checked out, they could not give me a receipt, but promised to email me a copy. 9 days after I checked out, I still hadn't received my receipt. Calling the hotel was useless since the front desk and the operator never answered the phone. I called tka central Best Western number and they were able to send me the recipt. Three pluses of our stay: the room had a "sanitary cover" on the remote enabling better cleaning between guests; when the maid cleaned the room, she did a great job; and the free breakfast included freshly made waffles each morning. The attached photos show how small the towel bars are and the more sanitary cover for the TV remote control.

"Summer trip visiting Family"

We had a very unpleasant visit. We booked 2 queen beds was told upon arrival they don't have Queen Beds at all? Received 2 double beds for 5 adult females our room was not clean at all and could tell the beds were not made. They said a cot was available for a cost of 30$? No thank you, there should have been no charge.Had an awful experience with another guest across from the Hall security and police was called he had to be removed by the manager. Our door would not close at all dead bolt was broken for fear of our safety we asked to be switched from our room at 130 am. Funny how earlier there was no other rooms available book solid. Then to be inconvenienced through all of this we hear down below outside our hotel window was people partying til 3 am. Did not sleep at all. We travelled 5 hours from Canada to visit my uncle and cousins which we haven't seen in 20 years.The 3 hours that we got to see our family was the only pleasant part of our trip.Hector one of their employees was very kind shout out goes to him. Keep being you Hector you are going places. Very disappointed with the amount we paid for the one night that was the worst night I have ever had staying in a Hotel. A Hotel should be a place like a home away from home, you should feel comfortable and safe. We did not have that experience at all. We told their staff upon check out we were going to call their corporate office, and Expedia Travells / TripAdvisor whom we booked with. We came from Canada and with the exchange our Hotel for a one night stay there worked out to be 236$ our price converted to Canadian money. So not worth it. I will never book through TripAdvisor again, and will think twice about Best Western we were very disappointed considering this Hotel was rated 4.5 / 5 stars. I hope others do not have the same experience we encountered. Safe travels do your research people before booking!??????

"Lovely facility "

Located on hiway 3 on the east side it was easy to find. Staff was friendly in general. A few glitches. Not really friendly to handicap patrons although the front desk staff were eager to assist. No way to get to breakfast area without stairs. Breakfast staff made the loud announcement “6 minutes left” I assume to clear the area so they could clean up. Elevator repeatedly blew something & had to be reset. Room was clean & very nice.

wonderful staff, especially amazing breakfast staff , clean rooms, comfy beads. The reception staff go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible ( and cookies warm out of the oven every afternoon ). The only complaint I have is there is no outdoor patio to sit at.

Enjoyed my stay was in Watertown for grandson graduation from high school,the staff was some what friendly the one that checked us in could use lesson in customer service but the 2 ladies that checked us out were great, told them that housekeeping did not clean our room they gave me a gift card and apologized. The breakfast was good I would stay there again.

Stayed for weekend and front desk staff were not overly friendly/welcoming. Housekeeping knocked just before 9:00 am and we asked for some time. Returned early evening and room was not cleaned. No offer of any type of restitution or a call from Manager. This hotel is pricey compared to others in area and would expect better service!

We stopped only for one night, before continue to 1000 islands and on to Canada. The recepltionist was excellent thanks to manager Kili. Double beds were comfortable, free parking behind the hotel. It's located in an old building, but very clean. Breakfast was full and the big guy called Marthy, a breakfasts superviser was constantly working and welcoming guests. Nice surprise, at 5pm a freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were offered at reception area.

I wanted to like this hotel more than I did, as the reviews looked very promising. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is free parking, WiFi and breakfast here, so that's nice. It may have been our room that we just did not enjoy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it felt like a solid block of metal with bedding put on top. It was evident that the mattress was far past it's prime. The bed was also oddly on a slant, and was lop-sided. It was very hard to get a good nights sleep I will be honest. Our view was also terrible; the window looked onto brick walls, which made the room feel very dark and dingy, even when the lights were on. Our shower also made a very loud noise whenever it was in use. I will say that everything was very clean, and there was a lovely personalized note on our room left on the desk, wishing us a good stay. That detail was great!

Our family decided to stay night as we had points to use, we used on wrong hotel. Dirty towels on room, bar was not open even though it advertised it would be. Pool area had no ventilation, even swimming it was too hot. Staff was friendly the whole time, but they really need to pay attention to the other issues. Sloppy it other areas. Has potential to be a great hotel.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and outgoing and the room was very large,well decorated and very clean and quiet as well. There is ample well lit parking. The breakfast is included and it includes many hot and cold options to suit everyone. The man that took care of breakfast kept everything fresh, full and offered help to anyone that needed it. The breakfast seating area is huge by todays standards. The front desk staff are efficient and very helpful as well . We found this to be an excellent place to stay and hope it remains this way

Great place to stay if you want poor service, filthy rooms, and to eat with your hands. The staff get aggresive and try to bully you if you ask questions, the rooms are not even remotely clean or fully functional, and the continental breakfast did not have enough silverware either day I was there.

Stayed here for 3 nights. All of the staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Ate at their restaurant one time-excellent food and service and can say the same for the complimentary breakfasts. Hotel was very quiet as well.

The decor is a bit eclectic but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a gym and indoor pool and a decent breakfast. They are situated in downtown Watertown and are only about 10 minutes from the main shopping area.

The Good: We had a king suite and it is certainly spacious, very clean and well kept. Some updating would have been nice, even some pictures on the wall. The hotel is a conference center also and well kept throughout. The breakfast that was served until 10am on Sunday was excellent, the food was all good and staffed by a most helpful individual. The room was very large with ample tables and you did not feel rushed through breakfast, like at some hotels. There were hot and cold choices and also a waffle maker. Location is downtown and so you are a distance from the malls and most restaurants but it is only a 10 minute drive. The Bad: My only real complaint was the noise, since this is a conference hotel, it hosts many large events and sometimes they can get noisy. However the night we were there, there did not seem to be anything going on but yet the noise level was very high ....slamming doors ......constant noise in the hallways, there cannot be much insulation in the walls. There was constant noise from the parking lot, like a small party that went on until 1am. So, if you're looking for a good nights sleep, then get a room on the top floor, facing the front entrance. The front desk could learn to be a little more polite but that might just have been the lady I spoke with in the afternoon. Due to the noise, I would not choose this hotel again but for some large event it would be a great choice.

I stayed for one night on my way to Canada at the Best Western Hotel Watertown/Fort Drum, NY. The hotel is in a good central location. The staff was warm, friendly, and did a good job. The rooms are clean and pleasant. The price is excellent.

The air conditioning was not working and it was hot and stuffy. There was also 2 stains on the carpet which looked like a pet urinated there. Wasn't a big fan of the hotel overall and will think twice about booking my next stay there.

We stopped in Watertown as it was our last stop before crossing the canadian border. This place is well known to us as it was our fifth stay. Rooms are clean and comfortables but we consider that they need refreshment. Heating system is noisy and does not work all the time.

It didn't start very well, with the receptionist at check-in being obviously bored with his work and not being particularly nice nor helpful. He gave us a room which wasn't the type we booked (got a king bed instead of two double beds), but we didn't really care so we didn't report it. We found the heater to be too noisy to keep it on during the night (though we probably could have slept through it since we were really tired), so in the morning the room was quite cold. Finally, although the breakfast was until 10 am on Saturday morning, by 9:30 there were no more eggs since apparently someone messed up when giving the guests count to the kitchen... On the plus side, the room was clean and comfortable, which is the most important! And the price was very good.

Our room had 2 double beds plus we added a pack n play and it was still plenty of space for the toddler to run around. The staff were friendly, the hotel provided a great breakfast, and the pool is surprisingly large and warm.

We just spent a couple of days in Watertown and I told Luis (the gentleman that looks after the free hot breakfast 6 days a week) I would give him a shout out. Great job Luis! The hotel itself is a bit dated, the heater in our room was a bit fritzy (it wasn't a big deal as we like a cool room for sleeping and when we mentioned it on checkout they took down all the particulars and said they would address it pronto), but the beds were really comfortable and having a pool and a hot breakfast provided at the rate we were quoted was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Luis greeted everyone as they came into the dining room and made sure we knew where everything was. He takes pride in keeping his domain shipshape and clean and the food topped up as needed. If we find ourselves in this part of New York state again we would definitely come back here.

I usually stay at this property on my roughly quarterly visits to Watertown.. Amazing price. I am a Canadian veteran and Best Western has special rates for military and military retirees. I noticed this trip that they are pet friendly.

Stayed here to go prom dress shopping with my daughter and niece. I had originally booked on Expedia but once we got there, Keely at the front desk said "oh we have a better deal for Canadians", I was able to cancel the Expedia booked room and rebook through her for much cheaper. This was at about 9:00 at night, when we got up in the morning, she was still there. Such a lovely lady and a great ambassador for your hotel. Luis in the dining room works very hard and was extremely friendly as well. Very clean, older hotel but great location and excellent service!

Disclaimer..I booked this room through a third party site that indicates the hotel would choose the room type. My husband checked in and they won't even consider giving us a room with a king bed. We wanted to pay the difference ($10 for a king or $20 for a king suite) and they wouldn't let us. From a customer service standpoint this is absurd. I've traveled all over the place and other hotels I've booked through the same site have been more than accommodating, even other Best Western hotels. This is definitely not the hotel it once was. Poor Management. Poor customer service. We left.

We stayed here instead of one of the hotels near I-81 to be closer for an appointment I had downtown. We were very pleased with the room except the water pressure was poor and it needs a new faucet which shows the temperature range. The indoor pool was great and the complimentary breakfast was good too. I would recommend this hotel....especially since we were actually given a cheaper rate than what we originally booked.

Lots to offer in the hotel. Convenient location for my business. Loved having the refrigerator and microwave in the room; towels for the pool were very small. Had to ask for some items that are usually provided at a hotel, but they did have them at the front desk, but you had to ask and go pick them up.

Spent two nights here on separate occasions in the last month and have been pleasantly surprised with the value though Priceline. Hotel is a short drive from Interstate 81 with plenty of free parking in the back. Although dated, room amenities are clean and Wifi is reliable. Strangely enough, toilet was child size both times. Breakfast is acceptable with juice, waffles, toast, eggs, fruits etc.. There is a yogurt machine but it was out of service both times I was there.. coincidence? The breakfast area is large with plenty of seating which is nice and good service for replenishment. For the price, would certainly return next time I am in the area.

This was one of the most pleasant surprises we have had on our travels. The location is very central and there is plenty of free parking at the hotel. The staff were most helpful and the room we had was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The hotel has elevators and where needed ramps allow wheelchair accessibility.

Ended up in a room with no working TV remote and when we talked to the front desk there was no service people available. Went down to get a new remote which also did not work after a tiring day we really did not want the hassle of changing the channels by the TV when we did not even know the channels.... The fridge pinged a weird noise all night like a clock ticking and we had to turn off the heat because it was grinding. Walls are thin and although you cannot control the people in the hall or next room it still makes sleeping hard. Not a restful night had we known there was renovated rooms would have requested this. Breakfast really was great, very clean area, food was hot, selection was good and stocked frequently. The cook was very friendly and came by to see if we needed anything he was great to talk too.

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. The third floor was close. In the pool area both restrooms and sauna were closed. That made changing a bit challenging either go back to the room dripping wet or be creative. Hopefully renovation will make the amenities even better. Dreaming of seeing a hot tub! However, our stay was as pleasant as ever, room comfortable, clean. Brightness of the room could be better, reading in bed impossible. The breakfast area much improvement, more choices, fruits only missing bacon. Xmas decor was beautiful as ever, that's is why we like to visit in December. Fresh cookies, slider sandwiches much appreciated! Cannot wait to see our favoured hotel new and improved.

Our favourite spot in Watertown has been edging up their prices so we decided to head into town for an alternative. We couldn't have been more pleased. Oddly enough, being downtown these days means a quieter part of town. But it was only a couple of minutes drives from the shopping and restaurants of Arsenal Street. Check-in was quick and efficient. Before heading out to dinner we discovered our door would not luck but the front desk quickly changed our rooms and made the transition very easy. Our room was spotless, nice appointed with fixtures and furnishings and had a comfy bed with nice new sheets. Similarly, the bathroom had oddles of towels. Cable service was adequate (why do none of the Watertown hotels have a Canadian channel) and the wifi was excellent. The breakfast buffet was one of the real bonuses. We came down late so we had Luis as our personal chef and tour guide. He keeps the dining area spotless and ensures that everything on the buffet is fresh and well presented. He also kept us well entertained with his wit and wisdom. He is a great plus for the hotel. We will certainly consider BW for all our future trips to Watertown.

Stayed there for a total 4 days over Christmas. As usual despite the holiday the Staff took great care of us and our room was as usual very comfortable. We also had to extend our stay by a day due to bad travel weather and this was done easily with no question or issues.

No real problems during our stay. Nice room for the price. Convenient location. Breakfast had many items. The room we had was somewhat updated. I liked being able to park in the back and walk directly into the hotel. This was especially important considering the weather in Watertown was terrible during our 4 night stay.

"Hidden Gem of a hotel"

I stayed at the best western for 2 nights while we did some Christmas shopping. Although this is an older property the rooms were clean and nice. We enjoyed how close it was to downtown and only 10 minute drive to the mall. The hotel had some nice features such as a pool that we enjoyed swimming in and a delicious free breakfast that started each morning off great. Since that about covers the hotel let's take a minute and talk about the real reason I will be making this my new go to hotel in Watertown. Simply put the staff here are amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly and willing to assist with any request. The front desk staff were great and the people in the restaurant were we had breakfast made my morning. The blond lady who I can't remember the name of is the greatest and the other gentleman Luis even gave us a Christmas card. The little touches like this make it the best stay and definitely the reason I will be back. Thank you for everything.

very happy with facility - Staff was very friendly -- location was very good and convenient to what we needed. Breakfast was included which was nice -- I did use exercise room daily during my stay. It was snowy during our visit and hotel did a good job of maintaining walkways and parking lots.

We have always enjoyed staying at this BW. This time we were impressed with the beautiful Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, we were given no explanation as to why our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after check-in time, but the hot cookies mollified us. We usually have friends come to play cards in the evening, so an extra chair would be most useful.

I travel a lot, and to be honest the Best Western is generally not on the top of my hotel choices. This hotel exceeded my expectations and then some. We used Hotwire for our stay in Watertown and we got this hotel. It is located more in the downtown sector, away from the highway which is nice. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping top notch. The best though was Louis at the breakfast room. He was friendly, helpful and so attentive to everyone having their meal. All of the food items were well stocked and fresh. Especially liked the maple cinnamon waffles. Louis should be recognized for his wonderful hospitality and a great ambassador for the Best Western in Watertown. We were in Syracuse the next day and decided to return to the Best Western for the second night, got the same room, same rate and exactly the same wonderful service. Louis was genuinely surprised to see us , as we had mentioned we were only staying one night, and we told him it was all because of him we came back. Highly recommend.

"November Stay"

This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel, I think, and it always has pleased me. The rooms are clean, it has a nice bathroom with a nice tall shower (I'm 5'11 and my fiancé is 6'5 so this was very important to us), the breakfast had lots of options and tasted great. The only problem was our fridge had a ticking noise the whole time we were there, we had someone come take a look and they offered to replace the fridge but with the tv on we couldn't hear it so we decided not to have them replace it. They were all very helpful.

Yikes, I'm unsure what to think of the super positive reviews of this Best Western. Perhaps I've got a poor attitude about it since I've traveled so frequently for work. I've had the fortune to experience other brand chains and different tiered levels, so this put things into perspective for me. The rooms are sufficient but are not generously sized. Two double beds in a room is tight enough, but the doubles themselves making sharing a bed laughably impossible. For any average American couple, you likely will not fit together in the bed you're provided. So you'll each need to have your own bed, or suffer through it while others sleep in the second bed. Sigh. The bathroom felt grimy. There was residence around the faucet handles from prior guests, which was off-putting. The grout around the tub was stained and tired looking. There was a faint smell of urine. Towels and washcloths were not reliably restocked so we had to ask for them. The redeeming quality of the bathroom was the full-sized hair dryer that was powerful and worked well. A fridge and microwave were provided but we did not use them. The tv worked fine. Wi-fi was fine. Parking is out back and generally available. For the price paid, this was adequate but isn't going to win any awards for attention to detail. This property has been used hard for a lot of years and shows it.

The bed was so so comfortable. The room was very clean. The staff was excellent . I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone wanting a great value and extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast was quite good also with a lot to choose from.

We went for a girls shopping trip and stayed one night here. The hotel offers friendly staff, great breakfast and it is fairly close to the bigger shopping spots in the area.We were within walking distance to a cute little bar called Paddock. We would stay here again if we ever go back.

Each year, we spend some time in NYS to purchase our Xmas Turkey at the US at the Thanksgiving prices. We have stayed three time at the Best Western Watertown / Fort Drum and have been very pleased. The rooms are comfortable and the free WiFi is a bonus. It is located near the city centre which is very quiet at night. The free breakfast is very well presented and is a very good bonus from the hotel. The Savory Downtown bar and restaurant is also very convenient. Should one to have a beverage with supper, the ability to walk to the bar alleviates any situations with driving..... We shall return.

We overnighted in Watertown on our way north, and the Best Western Watertown provided excellent value - a comfortable room, friendly staff, good internet, and an excellent breakfast, all for a very a good price. I would happily stay here again.

We give the hotel a very good because we were sorry that the swimming pool was closed...so not that happy about that...otherwise we love this hotel and we will be back..Our room was an upgrade and really very good...I should say our rooms;We had a living room with a fridge ,T.V.and a nice sofa and the bedroom with another T.V and a nice place to wash-up and of course a shower...and we had a lot of products we never saw in other B.W hotels.Breakfast .is always fantastic there and you have a newspaper and cookies at 4 P.M. We will be back and the swimming pool will be functionel again.

This hotel is good but older. The pool was closed without being advised previously. This was upsetting because we and our friends had intended to go swimming. We should be compensated as this is false advertising but nothing was done about it.

I stayed for 2 nights. The bed was extremely comfortable . The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was very spacious, but could use a little update. The location was very convenient for me to visit family. It was a very pleasant visit and will stay again. I have stayed in Best Western's before and always had a good experience.

We go USA shopping in the Watertown area several times a year, we always seem to end up at the Best Western. Last few years, I must admit this hotel was tired and the breakfasts were nothing more than basic But! Things have changed, they have a fresh yogurt machine, fresh red grapefruit, TWO beiguim wafflemachines. Then the usual , bagels, cereals,hot dishes, scrambled eggs & sausages. Made for a lovely way to start our day. Rooms and beds are comfy. Pool is warm & clean. Good time by us all ! Thank u. We will b back !

Very good value. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet area with good parking. Breakfast was ok. Staff were pleasant. Note that there are two streets in the area with the same name as that which the hotel is on!!

"Pet-Friendly but smells PET-FRIENDLY"

We came to Watertown for our son's hockey game with the Watertown Wolves.Our rating relates to travelling with our pet (small chihuahua) and the rooms allocated as pet-friendly ....with the $20 pet fee, we have found that with most hotels this does not restrict where the rooms are located (and the fee helps with additional cleaning). The rooms are located in a semi-basement area but "you do have a window" the front clerk advised me. Um...we could have handled this, even though if you opened the curtains, it was on the back sidewalk entrance from the parking lot to the lobby, meaning if you open the curtains, anyone walking by is looking down into your room. As I said, we could have handled this by keeping the curtains closed. But, the smell of the rooms is what mattered most to us. The rooms are outfitted absolutely fine (not dated) and had been cleaned well but the smell that hits you when you open the door is the problem. Just because we travel with our small pet does not mean we want to sleep in what smells like a dog kennel. Sorry, I do not mean to be harsh - but the location of the rooms and the smell that maybe this BW thinks customers are okay with simply because they own a pet, is the reason for the lower review. I do not feel this is a housekeeping issue, because as I said, the general cleaning and make-up of the room was done well, but how do you give a good review for cleanliness when it is obvious the smell is coming from something...perhaps replacement of the carpet. Overall, the price paid was a deal at $88 US, the staff was friendly, and we had a hard time finding a pet-friendly hotel in Watertown.

Clearly you state that the rooms are clean and updated, but we need to figure out the pet odors that come from the room even after deep cleaned, we are looking into different flooring options to see if this can help us. Hotel was very clean. Good selection on the restaurant menu. Family style spaghetti meal was very good. Happy hour was fun .Staff very pleasant, friendly and courteous.It was so nice to be able to relax after a day of driving. In the morning the breakfast selection was varied to suit everyone and the female staff attending to it was pleasant and welcoming. Front desk staff were very nice too. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling that way and hopefully we will be returning.

Poor lighting in room, could not read due to poor lighting. Poor room service: sheets did not fit bed, towels sometimes replaced, sometimes not. Had to go to service desk for basics room service did not provide. Front desk personnel too busy on phone to assist customers. Final bill completely wrong, causing problems submitting expense report.

Decided to go to Watertown NY. at last minute. Called BW for room and very friendly employee arranged our stay. When we arrived our room was ready, and very satisfactory. We decided to eat in our room got room-service (two orders of chicken wings) the wings were fabulous.

Unable/unwilling to take care of customers, staff is ok but not overly friendly or willing to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Facilities are dated, issues with door handles, cleaning services, towels etc.

My wife, infant son and I stayed here for a weekend shopping getaway in Watertown. We were impressed with the room and all amenities provided. Very good free breakfast. Located closer to the downtown core - lots of beautiful historic buildings. A great experience.

This hotel is located in a very charming town. We were able to walk to dinner at Spokes Restaurant just a few blocks away and had great food and brews. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. It was a great stop on our way from Quebec City, Canada to the Finger Lakes.

"Worst Experience at a Best Western"

I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and this was, by far, the worst. I arrived at the hotel at 3:15 and did not check into my room until 7:45. They had a late check out (5:30), and that was the room we had been assigned to. While waiting for the room, we were given another room to wait in...we had planned on taking showers and going to dinner but because of the delay, none of that happened. When we finally did get to our room, there was no toilet paper at all in the room and the shower curtain had many stains on it. My dog found 2 dog bones underneath the bed. The room had be "cleaned" by the associate at the front desk because by the time the late check outs had left, the cleaning staff had also left. The worst part, though, was that the staff kept telling me my room would be ready at different times, but, in fact, were not being truthful to me. First they said the previous customers were checking out between 4 and 5, then ended up telling me they did not leave until 5:30 - yet it took them 2 hours and 15 minutes to clean the room. I called the front desk 4 times during this waiting period and no one would answer my call. My husband went up to the front desk to check on the delay and after that, they answered the front desk phone. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel.

This is a very nice hotel . We stopped using a walk-in coupon which worked out great. We were able to walk downtown and found a wonderful place to eat. The breakfast was excellent with a yogurt dispenser and nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips and sugar were available. Great hotel in a great location.

"Old noisy and smelly hotel"

The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room had modern furnishings with a microwave and large fridge. It had one of those useless hotel-only cup-at-time coffee makers though there is free coffee in the lobby. We were placed in a basement room below ground (unusual) which made for a very dark and depressing room. To our surprise, we discovered after checking in that the hotel allows pets which meant our room had bad pet smells which they tried to hide with an overpowering plugin air freshener. The lobby and stairs area smelled awful (like vomit) each time we came and went to/from the room or the breakfast room. At night it was difficult to sleep (especially for kids) due to the noise of barking dogs all around us and loud noise in the hallways. Also the room walls are very thin and you can hear every sound from the neighbouring rooms - their TV, conversations, etc. The pool area is ok. Oddly enough the change rooms for both male/female have no doors and are completely open to the pool area. If you want to change into a bathing suit you either have to do it in the open or in the toilet stall. The breakfast was very good overall however somewhat inconsistent. The first day there was materials on the buffet for waffles but no waffle maker. On the second day there were waffles. Apparently some food, both at breakfast and in the lobby, is only on weekdays not weekends which is odd since there are more guests on weekends and rates are usually higher. The location is right downtown though there's not much in the downtown area to take advantage of. Overall this hotel was a disappointment - next time we will stay elsewhere.

We do not put non pet reservations in the pet wing unless the customer booked it that way, if we notice that they may have accidently done so we try our best to move them, sometimes we may not always are able to accommodate, we do strive to make everyones stay a comfortable one. Room was neat, clean and comfortable. Internet was reliable. Breakfast was a great amenity. Bar was well stocked. Staff was helpful and professional. Front of hotel rooms were a bit noisy due to emergency response vehicles using Washington street a lot.

Arrived here on a miserable dull day,to be greeted by extremly friendly staff. Our room on the second floor was spotless with a fridge microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom looked as if it had just been renovated. The bed was very comfortable and the tv of excellent quality. Breakfast the next day was very good with everything we needed hot and cold and the area kept spotless by a very helpful young man.Plus it was in a ballroom,so not the usual crammed space.We will certainly be back here on our next shopping trip. The pool area..indoors... is huge and looked very inviting.

stayed there for two nights, great room at a nice price. very clean and comfy and not noisy like other hotels in same town, great complimentary breakfast well stocked and fresh. The lounge and restaurant are a nice feature.

"Overall good value can improve"

This is a larger Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly. Though some updates have been made more are needed especially the air conditioner units. The one in our room did not particularly work well and was noisy. The beds are comfortable and the hotel was clean. There is a good spread for breakfast though quality is not great and really need to Buffet lines for the size of the hotel. $80 a night is a good value more than that it's not worth it

"sewer issues and not told"

Terrible, the sewer had backed up and given a basement room that stunk....the bathroom was not something I could use with the smell...so I left early am before 6 am....why place me in the basement when there were rooms not in the basement....also no elevator, only stairs so luggage I left in the car because I could not haul up and down the stairs......not a great hotel....

Hi Peter, Sounds like you were here when we had the terrible downfall of rain and it backed the whole city up and flooded lots of business, Mother Nature at her worse. This was also during the time the Hotel was booked with a very large group that had the majority of the rooms, I apologize that the the third party booking sites were pulling the last rooms available to rent, and that would be the pet wing for our furry travellers. When in the area, let us know and I will make sure you are up top next time.

"Dim and dingy, in need of an update"

First I should say that the reception staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Beyond that . . . I suppose because we had our two dogs with us, we were put in a basement room, where the window looked onto the hotel's entrance circle, right by reception. There's nothing like feet and car tires going by the window to drive a herding dog crazy--which was our problem, solved by pulling the curtains, but it wasn't a pleasant view generally. Also, presumably because it was a pet room, the chemical smell of air freshener or whatever was practically knocked us out and was still pungent by morning. We've stayed with our pets at many hotels but haven't found that problem anywhere else. The bathroom was small but clean. The lighting in the room and throughout the hotel's public areas was that dim lighting that makes you feel as if you're going blind--certainly not good enough for reading. The breakfast room, too, was vast and under-lit. I really can't recommend this hotel until they pep it way up.

"I would never come back ,ever."

I have traveled all over , seen some bad hotels in my travels. Hostels included. This might have been worse. Let us start with the room. It was in the basement, basically a storage room. I can see cars rolling by to check in though our "window" . I would have to turn the tv on to sleep I dont hear the people load and unload their cars.The room had thin walls. I heard every door close and every conversation in the hallway. The staff was very short and when I asked if we can have some fresh towels , their response was "ugh yes we already know " .- that was my first time asking.When they came to give me the towels they banged on my door. I had a pet with me and was staying in a pet friendly room. I believe the strong smell in the room was from all the cover cleaners and air fresheners to mask the smell. I have stayed in many pet friendly rooms as well. This was below subpar. I will never come back to this best western .

The rooms had a bad foot type smell, the hot breakfast was cold, and the toasters didn't work properly, although the juices and coffee were good.The receptionists and maid service was very polite and helpful.

Terrible experience. We stay in lots of hotels for business and pleasure. This was a stop off on a trip home. Check in was late. Hotel looked scary pulling up. Wedding reception held there made the place appear as if it was not a hotel. ABSENT security. Poor lighting in parking lot that was behind the hotel. Entrance to hotel signs not visible if present. Pretty unnerving walking past a group of drunk men making lude comments to me. Carpets were filthy. Service was poor. Skipped the breakfast to just exit the hotel. Does not do the name Best Western justice.

"Somewhat disappointing"

We stayed at this Best Western while visiting the Thousand Islands. We have stayed in many Best Westerns and frankly, we were disappointed in this. We had a queen room at the far end of the lobby. Upon entering, there was a smell that reminded me of cigarette smoke, but my husband said it might be the cleaner. Once you got in the room it was okay. The room was certainly clean and modern enough. It even had a small fridge. The breakfast was a typical hotel chain breakfast and was certainly adequate. The breakfast room staff were very good. I use my phone and Ipad a lot. There was sketchy WiFi in the room and I couldn't use my Ipad. Getting on the WiFi was challenging and mostly was used in the lobby. There are also computers in the lobby. Depending on which ad you see, it states that there either is WiFi or there is WiFi in the lobby. So if WiFi is important ask for a room closer to the lobby. We were in the last one on the third floor. There is a restaurant there and we chose not to go to it. The location is good. Many military folks stay there as Fort Drum is only 8 miles away. One issue that I would like to bring up is that our friends were put in a pet friendly room. They couldn't stay there because of the smell. They requested another room and were given the statement - oh you are going to take it away from a soldier - which was not appropriate because the hotel is responsible for the rooms and if you are going to have a pet friendly room....there shouldn't be any smells of pets lingering. They were eventually given another room.

Nice hotel with great restaurant and parking. Very comfortable room! Our first choice when returning to Watertown, NY. The Wi-Fi worked well, the ice machine actually had ice in it, the décor was spotless.

A good m otel the, bed very comfortable, rooms were nice, buts bathroom was small, breakfast adequate. Check-in was good, desk clerk very accommodating for an early check-in. Maids on floor were ery helpful.

We stayed here a couple of nights in April. Only one person was working the desk and there were quite a few construction workers checking in at the time causing us to wait over 30 minutes to check in!! The halls and room was quite dark and dungie, Our window overlooked a roof. The room was quite warm for the time of year and the air conditioner did not work well. However, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable and it was close to my mom's new home. We will probably not stay again and will stay in one of the more modern hotels in the city next time.

This is a good hotel. It was clean and met all of our basic needs. The free breakfast is lacking significantly compared to other Best Westerns. There was no flavored yogurt, the scrambled eggs were HORRIFIC, the bread didn't fit in the toaster so my options were to have it half toasted or have the middle portion too well-done. Overall though, for convenience and value, it's a good pick.

Best Western was adequate for the purpose but parking is too in adequate for as many guests that stay there. It is a bit confusing as to where you can park for better access to your vehicle. Also the smoking around the entrances needs to be changed for non-smokers.

We stayed here two nights on a trip to Adirondaks. Room was not real modern but was clean, everything worked and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the best feature, lots of choices, lots of food and it was hot or cold as appropriate. We would stay here again and have in the past.

We were in the area to visit Alexandria Bay and chose to stay here as it was the closest Best Western. We had a great stay in a nice hotel with an efficient staff. The pool is very nice and the beds are very comfortable. It is close to Rt 81 and many stores and restaurants.

This was a business trip and I was very happy with the Best Western. The restaurant was excellent, the room comfortable, any questions I asked the staff were answered promptly and pleasantly. Will gladly use this hotel again for business or pleasure trip.

Price of room may seem a little high to some customers, but this is a solid hotel with respectively clean & modern rooms, and the location is excellent. The free breakfast is a nice bonus as well. The mattress could have been a little softer though ;)

We stayed here for a weekend. The hotel - King suite was fantastic. lots of room. (separate living room and bedroom) The staff were very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to or near Watertown.

Had the misfortune of staying here while girls softball teams were here. The girls acted like the hotel was their playground; ran up/down the halls, slamming doors, screaming, etc until late into the night! No supervision by the chaperones/parents.

Make sure you check each Best Western hotel's cancellation policy when you make your reservation. Best Western does not have a consistent policy on this. Was not able to cancel a week before arriving and was still charged for the room. As a Best Western member, I was very disappointed.

We are very good at allowing cancellations of rooms as long as you booked through us we dont have a problem at all of cancelling, we understand things happen and we want to ensure that our guests will come back when they can. If however booked through a 3rd party website we may have to work with that company to allow the cancellation. Sometimes good deals on line can turn out to have some catches to them.

Perfect for a downtown location and lots of parking. The overall appearance has seen better days, but it was clean. Staff was pleasant and friendly. We had a suite for the extra sleeping space and the linen for the fold-out couch was questionable. Our king bed was clean and comfortable. The refrigerator turned on but did not cool down. First shower experience began with the entire handle dropping into the tub. This handle was later secured, but the refrigerator was a lost cause. Breakfast was spread out across an entire wall, too spread out. Having to walk with a cane made getting breakfast an event. A second coffee/beverage station would help the long line. We will be returning this summer and hopefully some of these shortcoming will change.

The hotel staff are wonderful people, however the hotel is in such disrepair it gives the whole place a "dirty" feeling. so many things have been shoddily repaired that are glaringly obvious - i stayed here last year and thought it was a fluke, now I know they just do not take good care of their property. For the price, i would recommend somewhere else. i feel you could get the same level of quality for a much lower price point

the staff at the hotel were outgoing and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a nightmare, way too crowded, food was great if u could get any, ran out both days we were there. Kids running everywhere, elevator shut done because kids kept pushing all the button. people blow drying their hair at 3 in the morning with the door open, noisy hard to sleep. we were put on a floor with tons of kids and noisy people. the hotel should have put us somewhere else.

Stayed here for the night with my husband. Hotel was conviently located to downtown.the breakfast was really good for such a small hotel with a good selection and a lot of seating.the staff was super nice and really friendly.the rooms were very clean, not the most updated but very clean.The only downfalls wer the bathroom was very small but pretty updated. I would deff stay here again!

Not sure where to begin on this property. The stained and stinky carpets in the hallways, the dirty stairwells, the dated decor, the torn towels in the bathroom, the dusty room with the crooked mirror, the missing panels on the air conditioner. We requested a king size bed they gave us two doubles and then refused to change us because they said we booked through a third party website and not directly. I guess you're less of a guest if you book through a third-party website.

I never complain about anything but this hotel is brutal. Got to the room it was kinda gross, bed didn't seem that clean the room wasn't comfortable the bathroom was gross. Went out shopping and for dinner, came back and fell asleep around 10:30 pm. Got woken up by people having sex in what I thought was the next room but I went out in the hallway and it was from two rooms down. I'm no prude lol but i don't even feel like they were being that loud, just the hotel walls must be paper thin. Anyways I could hear them like I was in the room with them from my room it was even louder in the hall. Took an audio of it down to the front desk the girl was disgusted and said my room would be free. I never got my money back, I'm hoping they put the money to good use maybe some new walls or people that can clean the rooms better. I would never stay there again it's gross

Every single person in the hotel went out of their way to help. The room was excellent. The price was excellent. The area was very, very nice. I was travelling the I-81N and the hotel was a long distance from the highway, but totally worth the trip. 2 very small problems: 1) Pillows were not comfortable 2) Shampoo and conditioner should be separate...not good quality. Otherwise...GREAT VALUE.

The hotel is good but some things have started to go downhill. The breakfast has been getting worse every time we have been back,as we do try to stay here at least once or twice each summer. I know they advertise the breakfast as one reason to stay with them, compared to a continental breakfast. But truthfully it's not much above a continental breakfast any more. The pool is very nice and clean and the room is as well so no issue with that and the personal were great. So I guess my only complaint is breakfast when you stay two or three days it would be nice to see a little better selection. I know most people wouldn't care about this for a night, but I think it's worth a mention to management.

Scramble Eggs, Hard Boiled Eggs, Sausage, French Toast sticks with different toppings, Apples, Oranges, Grapefruits and three kinds of cold cereals. Toast station with different breads with cinnamon rolls and muffins. We do switch up Bacon on Saturdays and Waffles during the weekdays. We are open for ideas and we hope that we have enough kinds of different breakfast items to please every guest.

Stayed for three nights; walk to downtown; check in staff knowledgeable; on site restaurant had slow service, but good food; common areas and our room were very clean; beds were comfortable; walls were a bit thin and we could hear the person in the next room coughing; bathroom is compact and the drains were slow. In places, the age of this place is showing a bit, but we had no issues at all and would stay here again happily.

Otherwise Average . NOT for Handicapped People . Ramps used to get around downstairs to get to breakfast, after you use ramps to get out of building. Handicapped rooms are the suites at far ends of building from the elevator. Breakfast area at far end of building. This hotel was retro fitted for handicapped.

I recently booked a 1 night stay at this hotel. I made sure to purchase the cancelation insurance incase something came up. I did not have to pay for the room ahead of time, only when I arrived at the front desk. The night before something came up and I had to cancel. They allowed me to cancel until 6:00pm the day of. I received a cancelation email stating I will not be charged and that I successfully canceled my reservation. Saturday rolls around and of course I get charged for a 1 night stay. I called the head office and of course no history of cancelation and I have it right in front of me. I still have not received my money back. I cannot review on the hotel itself as I have never actually been there.

The décor of the hotel was luxurious. The room was decorated in good taste and comfortably. The is also a fitting room and swimming pool. The service and food of the in-house restaurant was very good and generous. It was a very good value over all. It was a very pleasant experience for me.

This hotel is away from the shopping area in the heart of Watertown. The Manager and staff go out of there way to provide you with great service. The room is modern and clean, amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, deodorant and shampoo is made available in the room, excellent internet, the beds are sooooo comfortable and it is like home away from home. Each time we go, further improvements are made. Congratulations Christine on everything you have done to make this hotel what it is.

Seems like rooms have been updated in the last 5 years or so as well as bathroom fixtures etc., but the wear and tear (even the updated items) is pretty significant. Hallways are dingy, free breakfast is just so-so and service can be spotty (sometimes they answer a call from the room, sometimes not). Also, beware that all the rooms are either heat OR a/c. They can only be controlled centrally, so... if your room faces the sun and gets heated up, there is no way to turn on the a/c unless the whole property is on a/c.

The hotel was GREAT!! We were able to check in early . . . AND get into our room!! Room was very nice -- and comfortable bed/pillow!! It included a fridge and m/w! Loved it!! We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant - Savory! GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! What we didn't know is that they had a band in the bar area!! OUTSTANDING BAND!! Such a nice night we had!! In the morning . . . weren't sure if we were going to have breakfast before our long trip home, so we were each offered a complimentary GRAB AND GO bag which consisted of a bottle of water, apple and two granola bars!! PERFECT!!! But we did end up going in for the breakfast . . . a GREAT hot breakfast was offered as well as cereals and all the regular breakfast buffet type items -- complimentary!! Very very pleasant front desk staff!! We would definitely go back to this hotel if we were in the area!! Thank You Best Western Fort Drum!!

"No air conditioning and doors that need to be slammed shut"

This hotel is well located in central Watertown, opposite a lovely church, but that is where the loveliness ends. The lift is vintage as is the hotel's decor and "vulgarlure" carpet. There is NO air conditioning with a fan unit of 1980's vintage slow coughs out a wisp of air, therefore you have to open the windows, in our case facing westwards in to the sun. As a result of people opening the windows to get fresh air the rain pours through on to the sill and all the wall paper below is peeling and moldy. This is major concern for asthmatics as I definitely got a reaction, since one can smell the mold. The doors that need to be slammed shut otherwise some can just walk into to your room. The parking is very open to the public, we had local people milling around until about 2 am since there was live music on until that time. I wouldn't stay here again even if Best Western paid me, it is not worthy of the name.

Was here for one night and the front desk staff were fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. On the day we were leaving I needed a map printing and the lady behind the counter was able to print it off for me. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Also comes with fridge and a microwave. They offer a free breakfast which was ok, they had quite a bit of selection in case anyone is a picky eater. The also have a pool and exercise room on the 2nd floor if you need to unwind. It is located 10 minutes off the interstate Free parking as well

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Best Western.The rooms are a very nice size and comfortable. Very clean.We booked two rooms this trip.My son was married right across the street at City Hall.They had a beautiful suite .We took a regular room.We had a dinner at the restaurant connected to the hotel.Great food and service.Breakfast was very good with both hot and cold items .Very clean and organized.Plenty of places to set.Check in was quick and easy.Check out just as smooth.For the money, you just can't beat this place.

They used to offer canadian cash at par. then they took that away. jacked up prices and to add icing to the cake, on Easter Sunday, they did not serve anything special for breakfest. they used to have waffles, no longer on weekend! Not even for Easter Sunday. Shame on you!

Every time we stay, there is something wrong. No hot water, no towels, room not cleaned, no adjoining door, clogged bathtub, etc. Never all at once. But we stay here once or twice a year and each year something is wrong. Staff is always very friendly. The only reason we continue to stay is the convenience of being across the road from our venue.

Walking distance from downtown and the historic Arcade (the second oldest indoor mall in American), this place offers big comfortable rooms. There is a good restaurant on site with a bar open until 9. Good fitness facility, free parking, nearby services--can't complain!

Stayed two nights for black Friday shopping and will most likely do it again. Front desk staff were exceptional. Rooms were fine and clean. Shower a little weak on water pressure. First time staying downtown and I think that I will try and do it more often in small towns like this one. Like the feeling of the historic buildings.

This place is a gem. Staff are helpful, rooms are nice furniture is up to date, they have a good selection of free DVD movies, lots of parking, restaurant has fabulous wings! And the nightclub regularly has live music. Great place filled with a lot of 20-30 something's on the night I was there

"Worst Hotel Experience"

Heating didn't work properly nor did the mini fridge. Wireless internet was pathetic. Vending machines weren't stocked well and very overpriced. Carpet was dirty and furniture outdated. The pool was moldy and cold. No hot tub. Requested another room since my reservation was to a room with a huge stain on the floor and smelled like a wet dog and feces. Restaurant closed at 10. Never located the bar. Concert held in the LL during my stay that made it very noisy. This by far was the worst experience. Junkies walking around the hotel and digging through the dumpster for scrap metal.

What a great hotel. Staff as always are very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is wonderful. Large space typed room which was exceptionally clean. This hotel offers free internet (that actually works), large screen television, exercise room and pool, and lastly a restaurant on site.

Pleased with the location, the lounge meals and specials and the heated pool. The staff were very pleasant and informative at check-in. Our room was very quiet, clean and offered a generous flat screen tv.

"Nice place to stay"

Spent last weekend at BW in Watertown. I found the hotel clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was excellent, and we enjoyed the pool. Only downsides were a door to our room that stuck badly - really hard to open and close, and we had a hard time regulating heat in the room - it was either too cool, or too warm. Neither problem deal breakers, will definitely stay here again!

My wife wanted to do our Christmas shopping. We stayed here for the weekend. Room is nice, bed was fine. Pillows were awful, they're small square couch pillows. If we came back out here for shopping we'd stay at the other end of town. All the good chain restaurants and shopping is down there. This place is about 3km away.

Good Place to stay, I love your heading we appreciate it very much. We double up on pillows on our beds for the hypoallergenic pillows that we use that can be a bit smaller. Our location is indeed about 3 miles from the hustle and bustle of all the shopping, to offer our guests a bit of a reprieve from their day. We also have a fabulous Italian American restaurant on site that is Family owned and operated, giving our guests the feel of a locally owned restaurant. "Most awful experience of my life in a hotel"

This hotel was awful. Pure old school no updates. The walls were so thin you could hear people next door having sex in the middle of the night. So poorly soundproofed that you could hear them from the hall. Which means what else could you hear. The hotel needs total upgrades. When we first got there it was a little early. Check in was 3pm and we got there it was almost 1. My husband got told very rude that we could check in but it would cost us 34 dollars on top of the 98 that we were paying to stay there. 34 dollars!! For being 2 hrs early. Are you kidding me. Lol. And the floor that we stayed on also stunk like perfume. My husband thought it smelled more like chlorine. But either way it shouldn't smell that bad. The ceilings were awful too. Old and dingy. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ever!!!! Will not be going back that's for sure

Although I was disappointed to learn that the saunas have been discontinued my stay was still good. This hotel over the last 20 years has always been consistently my choice in Watertown NY. It was better when the on site restaurant was operated by the hotel. Still since the change the service and product although less than good at first has improved signifigantly

Our second stay here. Very comfortable rooms with fridge microwave and coffee in room. The wifi is free and the breakfast included with room is generous. Bacon eggs fries fruit porridge yogurt waffles coffee juice etc. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We asked for adjoining rooms which were not available the first night but they made it happen for the second night. We will come back.

"No handicap ramp for pet friendly area"

Nice rooms, nice breakfast, but desk staff is not very interested in assisting you more than absolutely necessary.Housekeeping staff was wonderful and couldnt do enough for us. Heat and AC was easily adjusted to our preferences.

We have visited our son stationed at Drum several times and have stayed here a few. We have not been disappointed yet. Queen beds a little smaller but comfortable. Micro,mini fridge,large tv , nice bathroom, double queen unit. Nice added bonus is HOT cookies in the evening. Good free breakfast. The staff was friendly and courteous. Satisfied with the stay. my second stay here and was very comfortable. TV was good to watch the debate, The hot breakfast buffet was plentiful, and nice to have a swim inside. Parking on premises, and I would highly recommend. I had zero problem with noise.

We stayed one saturday night over the Canadian thanksgiving, and I'm so happy i booked elsewhere for the sunday. The pool area was completely shut down, "ruined for everyone", said the barely apologetic front desk staff. I can only assume that meant some sort of biological incident. My main issue, though, was being repeatedly woken throughout the night by slamming doors. The noise from the hall sounded like it was coming from inside my bathroom it was so loud. The room itself was very nice, with a modern sophisticated style. The beds were doubles, but that was all that was possible given the compact size of the room. The parking lot was similarly tight. Avoid it if you've got a larger vehicle.

This was the 5th Best Western we've stayed at this year, and by far the best. Our 2 double bed room though small, was clean and included a microwave and refrigerator. But, the room rate was considerably less expensive then the next level of room. The facility included a small pool, fitness center and excellent restaurant. In fact, we were given a $10 coupon toward dinner which we enjoyed while listening to live entertainment. An upscale breakfast was included.

This was my third time staying here and is my go-to hotel in Watertown. Good location downtown and even our 20 minute walk to Pete's Restaurant (which was great) was nice. We were able to check-in early and enjoyed drinks at The Savory Restaurant as well as the breakfast.

Second time at this hotel. Excellent hotel for the value. Staff was great, I had so many questions and kept asking and interrupting the nice lady checking us in. She was so nice, didn't get angry and answered everything. Breakfast was good very busy, but great we didn't have to stop and grab food on the way home. We will stay here again.

Great value, clean, updated rooms. Friendly staff. Low step in over tub, and high shower head were great for me - tall with bad knees! Bar was great, with a solo singer playing guitar. Food and prices were great, and the hotel gives each person a $10 voucher. Hallways were a little noisy

Their lounge is nice, the food is great. The entertainment starts at 7 on Fridays. It has been a singer on the last two visits. They have been great.

"Some Good and Some Bad"

The good: the lobby area was nice. The staff on arrival were very nice and helpful. The room was as expected. Very clean and well appointed. It seems as if it was recently renovated, maybe within the last year. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold items. Arriving near the end of breakfast time our second morning found the eggs and meat both still hot and plentiful. The bad: carpets in hallways appeared to be quite filthy, perhaps just from being old. The carpeting on the stairs from the parking lot to our room on the south side of the hotel were disgusting. Not only did they appear to be extremely dirty, whatever material that was under it was lifting. It was like walking on a rough gravel walkway. If it were not for the 24hr before arrival cancellation policy we would have left on seeing the stairwell. We wouldn't even have gotten into the room, which I admit was very good. Renos are badly needed in these areas.

"Nothing wrong here"

Well, maybe, its location which is 10 minutes drive away from the shops and restaurants on Arsenal St. It's in sleepy downtown Watertown, not astride highway 81. Anyway, our Friday night stay was great -- our room was comfortable, spacious, clean, with a mini fridge, microwave, iron, coffee maker, etc. Complimentary breakfast (served from 6 am) fare included make-your-own waffle (meaning, fresh), bagels, omelettes, and sausages. Free parking. Re downtown location -- really restful (on a Friday early evening and Saturday morning), plus, Watertown's Roswell Flower Memorial Library (229 Washington St.) is close by, as well as Agappe Shoppe (136 Court St.), one of Watertown's thrift shops, where I found perfectly good costume jewelry for almost nothing. Compared with other hotels in same class, Best Westerns provides great value. Yes, we will return when in the area.

Everything was great The pool was nice and heated. The suites are spacious. I had seen an Otis cookie maker in the back. I wish they served cookies on the weekends. The hotel is in town which was in walking distance of the riverwalk area and close to some of the artists participating in the NNY arts trail

"Amazing quality for the price"

We traveled to Watertown to shop and stayed here on October 5, 2016. We bought the hotel online for $66 USD on the Best Western website (less than Priceline's price) so obviously we were a little nervous arriving because it was such a great price and included breakfast. PROS: Free parking Clean modern room Free (delicious) breakfast (that included a diy waffle bar) $10 off voucher to the hotel restaurant form the front desk (very good food) Free dvds to rent from desk Quiet and clean pool. CONS: (if you consider them cons because honestly they weren't) Downtown so it's not right off the I-80 but it was only a 5 minute drive from the mall. Bathroom is smaller than a regular hotel room but it didn't make any difference to us at all. I will 100% stay again and would recommend to anyone.

"Wedding weekend"

Weddings are very stressful to plan out and coordinate, but this hotel was a god sent! When ever we would meet with the staff to talk about the big weekend and our block of rooms, we always felt welcomed and cared for. Everyone in our group agreed that checking was handled seamlessly, their rooms exceeded their expectations for how inexpensive they were, and the Savory bar was the perfect place to end the night. Also to note, this hotel is located right off public square and is just a short drive from downtown! If you're planning a wedding, and want a great place to end your night in Watertown NY, my wife and I would highly recommend this hotel!

Location is handy to down town. Staff are friendly. The hotel is clean and the beds comfortable. We had a problem with the noise and pressure of the shower which should have been noticed and fixed before anyone used the room. The restaurant in the hotel is awful. Woken up about 3am with a fire alarm which some idiot set off for fun! Disappointing experience.

When I checked in the person at the desk was very pleasant. When I open the door to the room I was very pleased at how clean it was and so were my grandsons. When in came time to eat we had a good choice of restaurants close by. The grandsons loved the swimming pool. I was surprised to see it was not busy and we felt like we had our on private pool to swim in. We also thought the breakfast was one of the best around. I have travel and have stayed in all types of motels and this was one of the best ever. I would return if I am in the area again.

We booked last minute on the day we were checking in and were able to get an amazing deal at this Best Western. It's not far from downtown Watertown, and with free parking, it made it easy for us to come and go. I was hoping for a hotel with a pool and I was really pleased with the indoor pool here. It was very clean, warm, and it's like a solarium with big windows and partial glass ceiling, so it was really bright. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room had a mini-fridge and a microwave.

Great hotel, friendly, talkative front desk staff. Hotel is lovely, albeit a bit tired in it's decor. They have a "sleep well" program where you can get earplugs, eye masks or special pillows. Unfortunately though, we were in a room right above an entrance which pounded loudly when it closed. Very clean though - our bathroom smelled like it had just been cleaned for the entire visit. The pool was comfortably heated, very shallow, but nice. Pool area clean. Best thing about this hotel though is the breakfast. Large selection - there was bacon, eggs with cheese, hash browns, oatmeal "bar", waffle irons, a yogurt "bar", and then a selection of toppings, pastries, cereals and fruit. One of the best breakfasts I've seen at a hotel in a long while.

"Great Value, Small Quirks"

We chose this hotel for it's location and value. You can't beat the price. $89.00 is great for any New York hotel. Everything about this hotel was acceptable and I would stay here again, but there are a few tips for management that might make it a better place. Here are the good points: 1. Nice amenities in the room such as a sizeable frig, microwave, coffee maker, dvd player, very large TV. 2. Beds adequately comfortable. 3. Bathroom equipment working well. 4. Free breakfast was also a plus but could use just a few improvements (see below). 5. Wonderful staff - friendly, helpful 6. Nice downtown location. Here are the things that could be improved or that you should watch out for. 1. The sound proofing is not great. It is possible to hear most of what is going on in the hallway. We did not stay on a noisy night, but it could be problematic on other nights. I'm not sure the hotel can fix this easily, but try for a room that is away from the elevator. 2. There are many public spaces that do not have any natural light. Given the lack of natural light, the hotel could do a lot to improve the lighting and overall ambiance. The breakfast area was dismally dark. Surprisingly, the stairwells were nicer than other hotels because there were windows here. The overall design of the hotel dictates many poorly lit spaces. This makes them rather uninviting. 3. The pool area also suffers from lack of decor, lighting, etc. It's a rather barren place with no potted plants (real or fake). We did not swim because it was so unappealing. I suspect it is was totally fine, but we did not want to spend time in that pool area. It is also lacking a hot tub/spa. 4. Breakfast - great waffles, eggs, bacon, etc., but barely any fruit/juice and no yogurt. Just adding these 3 items would be a huge bonus. 5. The hotel is quite clean, but needs some of that deep cleaning that comes from cleaning/replacing the hallway carpets (super ugly). 6. There is evidence of water damage in some areas. Room 334 has water stains on the ceiling. This is easily remedied with some special primer and paint. The floor in the breakfast area had a noticeable hump that was also caused by some sort of water problem. 7. The parking is confusing since there are lots on both sides. Perhaps some signage could help or we just missed it. 8. For smokers, there is no ash can/disposal outside the door to the parking lot. This meant that there were a lot of cigarette buts lying around. Just adding some ash cans or moving them away from the door would help.

we booked a room king size. it included a fridge and stove. it also included a free hot breakfast in the morning. we also ate supper there and as well as been tasty they were large. we had enough left over to take back to canada for the next nights supper. room was clean and comfertable

"Accessibility failures mar this otherwise nice BW"

This is our first visit to this Best Western property. The first impression is that the building has been re-purposed at some time in the past into the hotel of today. The front arrival portico is easily accessed by car but from that point on, things became difficult : No automatic doors or handicapped access concessions...Just plain swing doors. We stepped into the lobby, expecting to get a luggage trolley but found none available. My wife checked us in and we were asked if stairs would cause us a problem, which they do. The lobby of the hotel features two wings of rooms to left and right of the front desk, each requiring a half-flight of stairs up to access. We opted for an other room which we would be able to access in the single small elevator, once I moved my car to the back door, necessitating a trip around the block. I arrived in this back lot only to find a 'Load Zone" that an airlock of double doors without automation, followed by a maze of stairs or the choice of a narrow interior ramp paralleling the interior stairs, obviously added years later. It would not be suitable for a mobility scooter or a wheelchair, not to mention a gurney for an ambulance should there be such a need. It wouldn't take a standard luggage trolley but there were two shopping cart sized platforms that were shaped to make the turns on the ramp, IF you were careful and there was no overhanging luggage. Once we unloaded and negotiated this maze, we were back in the lobby and on our way up to our room on the third floor. Let me say at this point, the hotel is certainly well-kept and appointed for a building that looks as if it might have been built in the 1960's or earlier and maybe for another purpose. The room we were assigned was up to expectations, though getting into the washroom with its outward swinging door was a bit of a side-step/shuffle routine. Beds were fine and the rest of the room amenities were as expected ... with the exception of the 'free' wifi ... Four devices with us and NONE would access the router assigned to that floor. A call to the front desk, reporting the Error messages that called for the HOTEL router to be rebooted, something we certainly could not do, was met with an admission by the clerk, who seemed to be working alone, that she had no idea what needed to be done. So, we went without WiFi, creating a bit of a bobble for us to communicate our arrival to family members as we had agreed we would. The complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning was well-done, re-stocked when needed and altogether matched that offered in other chains like Hampton Inn. Accessibility and ease of move-in/move-out needs some work. It's hard to believe the main doors aren't equipped with openers in this environment. There are three parking lots, each with an inadequate number and distribution of handicapped parking. It appears standard spots have just been marked and so designated without regard to the needs of people with walkers, scooters or wheelchairs. There are no signs, just blue pavement markings that likely wouldn't be easily seen in winter. Spaces allocated are not near the main doors. In fact, one space was so narrow we joked it would be suitable only for handicapped motorcyclists. We are not quite in need of walkers etc but I do use a cane. Distance to the door, stairs, double doors and lintels to be negotiated are annoying in comparison to other hotels. Had we been able to access a luggage trolley at the front doors, as most hotels offer, a great deal of pushing and bumping to get the luggage over lintels and through double doors could have been avoided. There is no concierge or bell hop service. The WiFi difficulty was frustrating at the time AND the following day at the next destination because of all the guesswork with our device settings that had to be undone, by we, a senior couple who, while not technofeebs, just found we had another problem to solve x4 devices, created 24hrs earlier at the Best Western Fort Drum! In sum : While the price and complimentary breakfast, room and its amenities were up to expectations, the WiFi and accessibility issues need attention to meet current levels of service in competing hotel chains. One last minor gripe : There was no sign of any recycling efforts. Anywhere. The buffet was serviced completely with disposable plates, cups and cutlery. Even soda cans went in the garbage. The back parking lots could benefit from garbage cans, judging from the coffee cups and beer bottles discarded on stairs and into the garden plantings.

We just travel with B.W.hotels as our place to stay and this hotel became one of our favorites.Not too far from Montreal where we live,close to an enormous shopping plaza on Rte 3,close also to some Parks with beaches on Lake Ontario and we love the village of Sackets Harbor.The hotel is a beautiful building with enormous hallways,nicely decorated.There is a heated pool and a work-out room.Breakfast is excellent and you get a newspaper every day.You also can have a video for your room at the front-desk...and cookies at around 5....For us it is a beautiful place and Watertown must have about 20 churches and nice parks.

Excellent helpful staff from reservations to check-out. Always a friendly greeting when entering the lobby or breakfast area. Genuinely concerned that you enjoyed your stay. The facility is older but well maintained, clean and comfortable. An excellent value.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and it keeps getting better. What we liked very much were the very clean rooms as well as having a restaurant on site. As you know, Best Western supplies breakfast but this one also gave a $10.00 meal voucher for the restaurant, the Savory which is attached to the hotel and has an excellent menu. We love it in Watertown and will also make this hotel our choice.

I was in town for a wedding and a group of us stayed at the hotel. The wedding reception was held in one of the meeting rooms and was catered by The Savory restaurant attached to the hotel. Overall the service and staff were amazing and the food was delicious.

"A Great Place To Stay"

The hotel is beautifully decorated with an excellent staff. The room we reserved was on the underground floor due to the hotel's pet policy which was a little inconvenient for this elderly physically challenged couple. Overall, a lot of stairs are involved throughout even when the elevator is used. The free breakfast was well varied and well serviced, with quality food. The restaurant/lounge was excellent,great service,quality food,huge portions,reasonable pricing and daily vouchers at the front desk. The rooms are spacious,with comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities,refrigerator,microwave,iron and board, TV, and good free wifi. The pool is indoors and on the second floor,heated with spa and a fitness room,very nice.A fun fact about the location of the hotel is that not only are you within walking distance of all sorts of downtown activities but on Wednesdays a Farmers Market is held directly across the street.Don't miss it!!

Every staff person we encountered spoke to us and offered their assistance. From the front staff to the cleaning crew everyone was so nice. The hotel was great. The pool was nice and breakfast was a nice addition. Definitely will be back here when we come to Watertown or the surrounding area.

Property is central to downtown and numerous eateries are within a 5 minute drive. Staff was exceptionally friendly and that included front desk personnel all the way to the Housekeeping Staff. Common areas of the hotel are showing their age a bit but the room I stayed in was immaculate. Nice firm mattresses on the beds and pristine linen. The wireless internet was extremely fast and reliable. Overall - I would soundly recommend this property.

Arrived late SYR airport, needed a nights rest en route to St Lawrence. Room quality, service, quiet, close to highway - all good. Warm breakfast to top it off. Hotwire rate made it a good deal. Farmers market across the street.

The staff is always friendly and decor updated and comfortable. Rooms are always clean and location is perfect. On site restaurant was excellent with live bands on certain nights. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Not your typical continental. I always stay in this location when in the area and will continue to do so in the future.

We stayed at this hotel because it was where our Military reunion was held. When we tried to check in to our PREPAID (had booked and prepaid it 5 months ahead of time) room. The GM said it was not prepaid and asked for proof that it was. I presented her the receipt that the hotel emailed me. She said she needed proof from my bank. Then she said never mind that she did see it was prepaid. We found her to be extremely rude, unwelcoming and very unprofessional!! We visited a friend on the 3rd floor. The hallway was an oven and smelled so musty and moldy. The floor we were on wasn't as bad. Just very dirty and stained carpets everywhere!!! Our room had 2 phone both of which had message waiting lights shining and blinking BRIGHT RED that they couldn't figure out how to turn off. We had to put a towel over both phones in order to sleep. The carpets were filthy and stained in the hall as well as our room, the breakfast was very cold and of poor quality, the housekeeper Melissa was very unprofessional and kept mentioning how her other rooms didn't tip her. We had tipped her $5.00 and my husband gave her a bottle of wine when she brought us extra towels. Then she said she wouldn't be working when we checked out on Sunday, so we could give her the tip before she left work at 4. At 4 she knocked on our door and said she was leaving, expecting a tip. We usually tip at least $10 per day. We were so shocked and disgusted we gave her NOTHING!!! Our stay at this hotel was bad from the beginning. Such a disappointment!!

The hotel is very well situated near the centre of the town yet provides ample free parking. All of the services advertised were provided with the restaurant producing excellent, if over-abundant food. The one downside was that the wine availability was limited. Overall, though, a very good stay.

An interesting combination of tired and refreshed. Lots of lights and work area is good. Like the fridge and microwave. Miss the fresh cookies that used to be offered all the time, not just around 5PM. Staff works hard to correct any issues. A little out of the way compared to some others, but makes for a more quiet stay. Pet friendly. Not my first stay and won't be the last.

Not very helpful staff for the most part; Kiss tribute band at Savory Restaurant the night before my departure that lasted well into the night - was told there was nothing they could do to STOP THE NOISE so I could get some sleep. Traveled home on 3 to 4 hrs. of sleep. All they offered the next day was a $25 gift card to any BW. I WILL NOT be back to this hotel, even if it's chosen again for the army reunion we attended. Several felt the same way. When reservations were made in March (for Aug. trip), had asked for room NOT NEAR elevators or ice machine - ended up with a room close to both - another reason I had trouble sleeping.

We stayed here over the weekend and we had our dogs with us. Mind you they don't shed and do not go to the bathroom inside. The breakfast was good the hotel was very clean and the staff was great. However I am assuming because we have dogs we were put on the lower level floor, which is understandable. The beds were absolutely awful. They were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. The fitted sheet did not stay on at all. I'm guessing they put the crap beds on this floor because it's the animal floor in case they have an accident but i had the worst night sleep all weekend. I was very disappointed with that aspect of the stay.

Overall adequate experience, but could defiantly be better. The pool room was in the 90s, and there seemed to be a towel shortage. The room was clean, but the walls were thin, with banging on the conjoining door in the middle of the night. Breakfast was not as good as in the past, eggs burnt, fruit not good, potatoes were very good. Breakfast attendants were friendly and helpful. House keeping didn't clean room, even though they asked if we needed it done and we said yes.

Our room was excellent. Nicely refurbished. Bathroom was very nice. It was very quiet. Font desk clerk was very helpful especially finding us a quick solution to the lack of printer ink at the complimentary printer and computer station--sent us to the library across the street! The library is in a beautiful old building--worth a viewing! Once the heating/air conditioning system is upgraded--this will be a wonderful hotel. I would recommend to anyone this hotel. Unfortunately did not make it to the complimentary breakfast or did not check out the pool.

Got in about 1:30am without a reservation, the gal running the desk was friendly, warm, and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Room had a massive bed, microwave, refrigerator, and tons of hot water. The breakfast was hot, delicious, and plentiful- the staff were friendly and keep the food hot and plentiful. Check-out was quick and easy. Will stay here next time I pass through NY.

I stayed at the Best Western after a couples night out. The rooms were clean and updated and included a mini fridge. The facilities are well taken care of and the staff was very friendly. The complementary breakfast in the morning was great and included a buffet of hot and cold items. The hotel's location is perfect and is in walking distance to bars and restaurants.

Booked in here to use up some expiring Airmiles. Was not expecting much but ended up pleased with the accommodations. Hotel hallways were dimly lit and I was a bit apprehensive approaching our room. Upon entering found the king suite quite nice. It was large, recently renovated and everything was clean and worked. Bathroom was small as befitting the time the hotel was built. All rooms come with breakfast served in one of their meeting rooms. Better offering than many others in this range. Parking is outdoors and included. We had no issues. Staff encountered were very pleasant. Happy with our stay.

Overall, we were disappointed. We booked thru Expedia, and at the time of the booking, put in the request for a cot as there were 3 adult men staying in one room, and only two double beds. No cot was in the room at the time of check-in, and we repeatedly asked for a cot at the front desk, and even had Expedia call requesting the cot again. However, the best we got was that managment fellt we were holding them up from doing their jobs by asking for a cot. A 60+ year old man ended up spending the night on the floor because this hotel couldn't get their act together enough to have a cot delivered to the room.

Very friendly staff, however no room service available so I had to go to the hotel restaurant Savory Downtown. The waiter, Trey, was very sweet. Food was good, too. Ceiling in bathroom was cracked & peeling, Ceiling in main room looked like it had cracked & patched back together. Very small pillows made for a restless night.

We stayed on a sold out night. There were many sports teams staying. When we arrived at 11pm there was no one at the desk. After someone arriving for work, she was unable to find the reservation ( because she was looking at the wrong day). The elevator was broken (which was not fun to carry two sleeping kids to the 3rd floor). The following morning the kids were excited to swim. The pool area was trashed with beer bottles and chips (of which one was covered with a trail of 100 ants). We called down for towels and 6 towels were brought but nothing was done to clean up area. Definitely not a good experience and hope it was just an off night.

My stay was very nice. It was close to where I had to go. All staff were great. I wish the computers worked though. The front desk manager(don't remember her name) tried to fix them but to no avail, I wish there were cookies-I was told they are only made Monday to Wednesday. The pool hours were great although I wish the pool was a little larger

We got this room through Hotwire, and enjoyed it greatly. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We went into the lounge/bar to check out the food and drink and enjoyed a great happy hour, we ended up purchasing four drinks and two meals for 10$ with a coupon the reception had given us. Location was nice, would definitely stay again.

I think I should have been informed that both the restaurant and the pool were closed. the hotel and decor were fine and there was ample parking but nothing close by to walk to. to get to shopping it was at least a 10 minute drive

We came with a coupon which was honoured. Welcome at the front desk was capable, friendly, efficient. Our room was exactly what we expected. It was dated but clean, comfortable. Our breakfast was well cooked and enjoyable and there were choices, all looking good. All staff were friendly, checkout efficient. The neighbourhood was very interesting, beautiful, clean, safe. I wanted to walk more of it. People staying at the hotel, people walking the streets, said hello. All in all, exceeded expectations. We enjoyed our supper at the Crystal restaurant in the square nearby.

"Poor attempt at handicap accessibility"

I have several complaints which would make me not recommend or stay at the Best Western Fort Drum again. My biggest issue is that though it is apparent that an effort has been made to make this hotel handicap accessible, it was more in an effort to met the letter of the law then make it user friendly and accessible. The ramp inside the entrance to the lobby from the parking lot has such a sharp 90 degree turn that I was not able to turn my daughter's wheelchair without making several turns which involved picking the back of the chair up to make the turn. She is under 100 pounds , and has a wheelchair that is also 120 pounds and I was able to push her up the steep incline of the ramp. It was not easy and I have never in 22 years had to deal with such a steep incline in any hotel or accommodation that I have stayed. The ramp to the dining room was better though still quite steep. On Sunday morning when leaving, we were told the elevator was being "temperamental" and staff would help us carry our bags since we could not get down the elevator. This was not going to work for my daughter in the wheelchair. I had noticed all weekend that the elevator was slow and noisy. If it can not be maintained to accommodate a Sunday morning checkout, then I do not understand how you can even consider taking in anyone who is not able to use the stairs. The elevator was fixed within 1/2 hour, but if we had been on a tighter schedule, that could have been a very big issue, missing a flight, event, etc. I do not know how long it had been down.

"Not As Pet Friendly As I Thought"

My husband and I came to Watertown to see some family. We brought our dog with us. I was told there would be an extra charge to have the dog in the room when we made the reservation and I was fine with that. Upon check out I was given a paper that basically told me that if my dog made noise I would be kicked out of the hotel and that the dog was not allowed on any of the furniture. The woman at the desk had the housekeeper bring a couple of old sheets to put on the furniture just in case the dog jumped up there. I was under the impression that the dog friendly rooms cost extra due to the extra cleaning required (ie: dog hair removal). If they was the bedding between guests, it really shouldn't have mattered if my dog slept on the bed or not. Instead of telling us to make sure our dog kept quiet, they should have told all of the people slamming doors, yelling down the hallways in the middle of the night, and running past our room at all hours. The hotel was beautiful, the staff seemed nice, and the room was comfortable, but I didn't feel like my dog was truly welcome.

We enjoy coming to the Watertown Best Western. We are just returning from a trip away and tried another Best Western in Kingston, New York. We were not impressed with the front desk greeter or our room. Watertown staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. If not you are moved to another room.

Travelled to Watertown to do a little shopping and decided to stay the night. Checked out usual hotels but they were all booked and decided to try this hotel. It has been about 40 years since I stayed here with my parents and siblings. The hotel physically has not changed much. The furnishings are updated and fairly new. The room and the bed were comfortable for two. It was very quiet even with a wedding reception and a full hotel. Not sure about the complaints with the noise. Will stay again for a night.

After staying at other Best Westerns along our journey from California to eastern Canada this one was rather disappointing. The king bed and pillows were comfortable, but the room was tight, the closet lacked a formal door and the bathroom very small with very little counter space. Luggage had to be dragged up a series of steps to access our room on their first floor. If you need to be in central Watertown, it is a great spot but otherwise stick to the hotels along the interstate.

I liked the location of this hotel because it is in town, rather than situated close to I-81, which cut down on traffic noise. It is still close enough to the interstate to be convenient. Watertown is a charming town in the middle of nowhere (it seems) and was a good stopping point for my travel from Pittsburgh to Montreal. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from if you want to have dinner, and the free breakfast provided at the hotel was good. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and overall, my overnight stay was very satisfactory.

We were put in a room directly next to the stairwell and listened to yelling and door slamming the entire night. On checkout I did mention this to the girl at checkout and she said because I booked my stay through Expedia, she would not give me a discount. She said if I booked through Best Western I would have gotten one. It shouldn't matter how I booked, end result was that I did. Breakfast sucked, nothing was ready at 8 am, all trays empty. When another guest asked for syrup the staff member yelled 'im only one person you know', as if that's the customers fault. The only nice helpful person was the woman on check in. I wish I got her name. She was great. We'll never go back again.

The only reason I would give it a 3 is the nice service at the front desk, but I think this hotel is out dated and needs a lot of updates. Also roads to get there are a bit confusing. Pool is too small: breakfast is great. Hotel not far from a lot of shops.

From the friendly person on the phone to the happy Night Auditor that checked us in, to the Housekeeping Staff that heled the door open to the happy travel wishes upon check-out: everyone makes you feel like family. "Wonderful Watertown, NY"

The Best Western Watertown Fort Drum was the perfect location for family history and genealogy research at the Flower Memorial Library and the Jefferson County Historical Society, both just a short walk from the hotel. Internet in the hotel was excellent as well as the staff who helped with local information.. Parking is free! Visit the Crystal Restaurant in Town Square for great reasonably priced meals in charming early 20th century style.

We reserved this hotel as a stopover on the way to Quebec from northeast Pennsylvania. Even though we got in very late, the front desk staff were very accommodating, even granting us a late checkout. While this appears to be an older property, it looks well-maintained and very clean (not to mention quiet). Definite recommendation, and we're looking forward to stopping there again on our way back in a few days.

We were traveling with the dog and were very happy to have found this hotel. It was centrally located for all of our adventures so we stayed 2 nights. The hotel literally had everything we could have ever asked for...and more. The room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The on-site restaurant was just a few steps away (which was helpful for eating in when you don't want to leave the dog alone). The restaurant served delicious and HUGE portions. The breakfast each morning was terrific - with more selections than one would ever need! I so enjoyed the fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby the first evening and the next evening they had complimentary cheese and crackers. My only wish was for a bit more grassy area to walk the dog, but we managed nicely and loved every minute of our stay. Great staff!!!!!!!

We arrived on a very hot day after a long day of motorcycle riding. We were tired...and hot. Got our room on 3rd floor...OH SO HOT!!! Air Conditioning not working.... Tina at front desk found us a new room...on 1st floor with working A/C. What a God Send. Tina's awesome smile and willingness to go above and beyond to make our stay memorable was much appreciated. Tina is a great asset to the front desk staff! Thank you!

When I first booked it from Priceline (which was the best price); it was a blind booking. When I received the hotel name it said it was in Watertown Fort Drum...don't be alarmed, it's near everything. The hotel staff was friendly upon entering, the pool was clean and it was 2 minutes from the shopping area. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus and made the hotel affordable for an overnight shopping trip. Also the free wifi was a bonus, a big hit with the kids (16 & 13)

Greeted with a smile, and Canadian cash at par. Room was very clean. One bed was very comfortable and the other was not. Breakfast was excellent both days. My only suggestion would be to have someone helping at the waffle maker. even though there are written instructions people have problems and then they read.

Another Best-Western hotel we really like and will always come back to.The hotel is well situated close to the center of Watertown with the many beautiful churches and shopping close by(Rte 3)and pay a visit to Sackets Harbor beautiful.The hotel has a warm water-swimming pool,a good work.out room,an enormous breakfast place,the rooms are well equiped and at 5P.M you can get warm chocolat cookies.

we go every year for a relaxing few days to watertown.we do some shopping,have good dinners and few good drinks.we always have good time and lots of fun.we stay at best western as they usually give us good rates and staff is very good. this time we were surprised as all the staff we knew were gone including general manager booking staff etc.mind you new staff is also very good and friendly.we had little trouble getting good rate but it worked out thanks to nice young lady at front desk Rayvon. this time we used the restaurant savoury and food was very good and plenty.taste was good service was good and price was good.free internet in hotel. Breakfast in the morning in hotel was good but one morning there was no yogurt other time evening there was no cheese and crackers.All in all we had good time and we will go again.we were two senior couples.general manager christine came in the morning breakfast time and talked to us at breakfast time.nice friendly touch

On my drive to Canada from Florida I checked in here just too tired to do the final 2 hours to Ottawa after a long day on the road. The staff here are wonderful and helpful and set me up with a great room with a king size bed that was the most comfortable bed I've ever been on. Restaurant/ bar on site with live music. Great prices and right in downtown Watertown! Great buffet breakfast in the morning included omelet, bacon toast etc. staff at desk were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. I will be back!!

"Best Western in Watertown NY"

This is one of the best Best Westerns I have ever used. Everything about it was excellent. It is a little difficult to find as I had to travel about 3 miles off the Interstate but it was worth the effort. It is down town and as such is situated near a number of historical buildings where it is worth going for a walk and taking some photos.

Hundreds of Ants in room in the morning we did not have food in room to cause this my wife is blind the ants crawling on her was disgusting, No working phone in phone, noisy conference room used by adjoining restaurant, access to room only by stairs regardless if disabled.

We've been regulars of this hotel for many years. It's ideally located, clean, has a really good breakfast buffet included in the price, friendly staff and includes free movie rentals. We were disappointed however, to find out that they replaced their pillows with the tiniest ones we've ever seen in a hotel! It's unfortunate that they skimped on something that is so important. We'll still come back but we're going to bring our own from home because trying to watch a movie sitting up in bed with pillows stacked that barely covered your back wasn't comfortable. I hope the hotel reconsiders their decision.

We visited for a weekend of shopping. At first I wasn't sure about the location, but it ended up being relatively close to all the shopping on Arsenal. Very nice clean room with a small fridge and microwave (nice additions). Fairly small bathroom, but an updated shower head. The room was a fair size and beds okay. Downsides were the thin walls and sirens on the main street all night. The staff were friendly and quick to rectify some small issues (had requested a room with two beds, key cards stopped working). The free breakfast was above average - nice variety that was frequently replenished and offered in a large dining area. An above average experience overall, especially for the price paid through a third party website. We would return.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms are big and clean, when we checked in they put us in the lower lobby not telling us that is was pet friendly on that level. We went to the Savory Downtown(the restaurant in the hotel) our waiter told us to come back down to hear the group that was playing there, I mentioned that we would have to come up and he asked if we had a dog, we said no and did not think any more about it. We went back to our room and after a while the dogs started howling (I guess they were alone) Called front desk and were told that this was the pet floor. They offered to move us (as my husband has allergies) but as we were all unpacked and undressed we said no. They should have asked us if we had pets and when we would have said no they should have put us on another floor. Make sure when you check in that you specify that you DO NOT HAVE PETS so they do not put you on the lower floor, it is now 9:00 and the dogs must (there is at least 3 we think) be alone and they are still howling) hope it does not last all night and sure hope they vacuumed well

These rooms are very detailed after a guest leaves and we have never had any issues with allergies. This hotel is situated downtown Watertown close to historic monuments. Even if it is getting old, it is in a well state of conservation. Attendants were very polite and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. We could have our dinner in the building. Would return anytime.

We were not accurately informed of members points and the elevator was out of order for one night and on the other night the pool was closed. When we left we didn't know still how much we will be billed ??? Not impressed.

Hotel was neat and clean, beds could be more comfortable. Staff was excellent. Parking is an issue if you are traveling on weekends they have a very busy bar and restaurant. Pleasant stay for just an over nite.

"Nice hotel with a different design"

I found this hotel in a booklet in a rest area. Not too expensive, clean and affordable. What's really special is that this hotel doesn't have the traditional design of regular "highway" hotels and motels. It makes things a bit special. Also, the swimming pool is very nice. The breakfast met our expectations, being neither bad nor exceptionnal. You just have do drive a bit off the highway to reach it, but the few extra miles are worth it.

I really like this hotel, it is close to the shopping area. the breakfast buffet has a great selection, the staff is friendly. it is quiet at this hotel and you can get good sleep even though it is downtown. the pool was enjoyable and there are chairs to sit and sun.

"Basement Rooms Offer Peace and Quiet"

This hotel is very close to the historic square in Watertown and just a couple of blocks from the Samaritan Hospital. Somewhat dated, but very clean. With hesitance, I decided on taking one of the lower level basement rooms. It offered much needed peace and quiet after spending the days taking care of my elderly mother who was a patient in the hospital. The hot breakfast was more extensive than I expected and everything offered was fresh and tasty. I took advantage of their complimentary "Sweet Dreams Program" and opted to have a humidifier in the room (which is something I am accustomed to using at my own home). This contributed to much better sleep. The basement rooms are also close to the dining facility. The only downside was a large private party rented the meeting/dining rooms on a Saturday night to host an event and that limited parking near the hotel but I heard very little to no noise once back in my room. Will definitely be my go-to hotel if I need to return to care for my family member.

We had booked a double room for a week stay, the gentleman that checked us in took one look at all of our luggage and immediately upgraded our room to a suite without hesitation. We had a pleasant stay and loved the breakfast, my only complaint is that they do not have cheese available for the plain omelets. But Great Stay!!

"Noisy hotel"

Probably the worst place I've ever rented. The corridor doors were banging each time someone used it, the room was clean but was upset to see a half bath! My wife didn't sleep because there was intense verbal dispute and thought it could have ended up in a fight and didn't feel safe. We will never go to this hotel again.

Had a really good stay at this hotel. The pool and fitness facility were good. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. Lots of fresh choices to choose from. I also like the cheese and crackers and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies from 5 to 7. I would definitely stay again.

Went to Watertown visit family stay at Best Western over the weekend. What a great hotel room was very clean, had everything you needed from refrigerator,microwave DVDs player free movies beautiful tv. Staff is excellent. From the front desk maids staff in the restaurant. The free breakfast had everything you could want. Fresh fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, hot /cold cereal all kinds of bread, juices and the best coffee. Anyone traveling to Watertown must stay here you will not regret it.

"Run Away As Fast As You Can"

Don't believe any review that tells you that this hotel is worth staying in. It is not as advertised. Room was dirty, the wifi does not work and the hot breakfast is all prepackaged and heated up in a microwave. The juices are watered down and everything tasted like rubber, we couldn't eat the breakfast it was so bad. After talking to the manager several promises were made and not a single one was followed through by the staff. When we returned to the hotel after our day nobody knew anything about the managers promises and we just ended up leaving and spent the night at a different hotel. The staff in general were unable to resolve any problems and the front desk people didn't know what they were doing. We even had to go back the next day to get our refund because nobody could do it at 6:00pm. Don't stay at this hotel, run away as fast as you can.

the hotel is not brand new but has been upgraded the friendly outgoing and helpfull staff makes up for any building short comings the onsite restaurant and bar far exceeded my expectations with very good food at a fair price with good service and live music the heated indoor pool is larger than most hotels i have stayed at and the view from the second floor is nice the elevator is a little slow but being only four stories unless you are on the first floor stairway placement makes it fine i would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the watertown are for business or a getaway the location makes it nice to walk to most things you need

This is an interesting hotel in downtown Watertown. Our room was very good and dog-friendly. We were close to a door so it was easy to walk the dog. Breakfast was buffet style and provided good variety. Staff were exceptional.

We were surprised about how big this hotel was, the staff was so helpful, felt at home. The breakfast was excellent, other than just bagels and waffles. The scrambled eggs and sausages were a bonus.The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet.

We arrived late on a Friday evening. The front desk attendant informed us that the breakfast would be available until 10 am. on Saturday morning. Arriving at the breakfast area at approx. 9:20, we found the staff actively taking the breakfast items away! Inquiring as to what they were doing, we were informed that the breakfast was over at 9:30 today! Not only did the front desk tell us 10 am but there was a poster beside the front desk stating 10 am and also a poster in the elevator stating 10 am as well. Several guests arrived after 9:30, only to find nothing available! Furthermore, we requested a quiet room, only to have children running up and door the halls in front of our room early Saturday morning. Since the hotel seemed very empty, I think it should have been easy to have accomodated us. The dead bolt on the door did not work. The halls were very unattractive with repair work in progress on several doors. The heating/ac system needs to be updated and replaced--noisy. Front desk attendant did compensate us for these annoyances when we checked out. This was appreciated.

We had driven in from Lake Placid, where the temps were -30 that evening, we stopped at a local gas station to find out if there might be a BW in the area, we were directed to this location. We were so glad to get there as it was getting on in the evening, I went in to the lobby and was pleased at what we were offered and the price. Being a rewards member and a veteran helped too, as they give discounts for both. Was also pleased to know they had amenities, like Breakfast and a lounge, we don't always use the lounge, but, nice to know it's there for our use. Our room was very comfortable, we wanted for nothing it was all there. We enjoyed the breakfast served the next morning, plenty of food and beverages offered, gave us a good start on our journey. Thank you!

We checked in during a blizzard on a Friday night. The attendant was not behind the counter when we checked in (she was deliver pillows to other guests) but check-in was prompt when she returned. This was our second stay at this hotel and it met our expectations. The room was just fine and the price was certainly right. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great hotel ! Free breakfast is amazing with plenty of choice. The kids loved the pool and sauna. The pool temperature was cooler then normal but the hotel offered to reduce our bill by half over and above compensated for! Close to the mall and restaurants.. Will definitely return....

I recently stated at this hotel for 4 nights on a business trip. From the momenti arrived I was more than pleased with my choice. The hotel is clean, the staff super-friendly and attentive and the accomodarions and room were perfect. On day 2 I met a from desk staff Member named Allison, who went above and beyond for me. I was traveling with my dog, an English Bulldog, who has serious separation anxiety (yes the hotel is pet friendly). Allison offered to watch my dog while I was out at work. Need I say more? She allowed him to hang out behind the front desk and even took him out for walks while I was away. This is the kind of performance you can expect to receive at this location. Great location to downtown and pet friendly. Rooms are clean and quiet. Nice breakfast too, the dining area is quite large and clean. The staff were very friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Nice having our pet with us too.

This is one of the best equipped Best Westerns I've ever stayed in. Indoor halls, plus attached restaurant and meeting rooms. Restaurant was very good. Area was very nice (although I arrived and left in the dark). I would stay here again.

Nice hotel. Helpful and Friendly staff especially Sha?ira. The have a bar and entertainment on weekends and although we did not attend this time but they usually have good musicians. Breakfast buffet was cold and dry and coffee was cold too.

The desk clerks are very polite welcoming .They do everything to make your stay enjoyable and confertabale. They also have an indoor pool for your enjoyment. When you stay you also have breakfast included and at night during the weekend they have a band to dance with in their Bar

Best Western hotel in Watertown is the best hotel in town. I really enjoy staying in this hotel. it is in the heart of the city and walking distance to YMCA and many other eating places. There are many places to do Yoga and various shopping. This hotel is very close to the Mall in Watertown. Employees are very helpful and ready to assist you anytime day or night. Restaurant is one of the best in town, live music is available many times a week. opverall I rate this hotel as excellent

I stay at this hotel every month to spend time with my six year old son. They make it feel like home away from home. The staff is very helpful with anything we need. In the past if I had any problems they were addressed immediately. I will continue to bring my family here every month.

Definitely highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean ( rooms, lobby, pool area). The breakfast has been the best I have had from all the hotels we have stayed at. The price is very reasonable.

Have stayed here many times due to business. Even though this is a older hotel this is a great place to stay. Rooms renovated recently, furnished with mini fridge & microwave. Beds were comfortable and rooms were always clean. The breakfast bar was always hearty, maintained well and changed on nearly a daily basis with a clean dining area. The crowning jewel to this hotel is its staff! From GM down, Jeri (GM) is almost always accessible and genuinely concerned with client satisfaction. Front desk staff of Allison and others was always pleasant, respectful & helpful. 24/7 coffee, fresh cookies at late afternoon/night and restaurant on premises are all added bonuses. Great value if you're in Watertown.

Though the hotel is older the rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the staff were very helpful and welcoming! Nice hearty breakfast in the morning, well equipped gym and nice sauna/pool to relax. Would visit anytime in Watertown as the location and price were super affordable!!

"A Place to Relax"

This was not our first stay and for a while we were looking at other options but decided to try it again and we like it even more. Entrance is a bit confusing, no clear indication how to get there for those differently able. However, the warm welcome at the reception melted all apprehension. Shakira listen to our requirements, and help us get the right accommodation. The room was spacious, modern, seems recently decorated. Beds comfy, nice quilts to keep us warm. The bathroom nice and clean, the only shortcoming is the really low toilet, for some seniors it might be a concern. Overall very good impression. Breakfast is a good value with large selection of breads, lighter fare (yogurts, fruits, cereals) and traditional scrambled eggs or omelets, bacon and sausages on alternate days. Very good coffee, selection of juices. Rooms kept clean, Teresa was caring and observant. The hotel has a very good and caring staff. There is always fresh coffee, hot chocolate and tea near the reception as well as cookies and cheese selection. During Xmas time hall decorated with trees, sofa, chairs, fireplace help to relax. There is also a pool, sauna and well equipped exercise room. The hotel is good for both short and longer stays. Quiet and inviting.

"Wedding"

My daughter's wedding reception was at the neighboring business. We had the bridal party stay on Friday and on Saturday night many guests stayed. The hotel grouped us together as best as possible, due to the location of doubles and King rooms. The hotel had a wonderful free breakfast, they gave the rooms at a reduced rate and the bridal couple's room was free due to the number of guest rooms. Our group was treated extremely well. Shakira, front desk manager, was awesome.

Apart from signs of ageing, the hotel still provides a pleasant and good quality experience when in Watertown, also as it is the only accomodation with a downtown flair. Have stayed before, will always consider staying again, especially as staff is 'up to the job'.

Enjoyed our stay at Best Western. Large hotel, well lit with plenty of parking. Hotel looked just like the picture. It had many perks; free dvd rentals at front desk, wifi, sleeping pillows, work out center, and a pool. Not to mention a bar/restaurant on site. Hotel staff was so helpful as well as knowledgeable. The hotel is conveniently located in center of town. 3 miles off interstate 81. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The restaurant on the ground floor was fantastic. I stayed here for several nights in early November. We were working in the area. This property is beautifully maintained. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The complimentary breakfast is great. The Savory restaurant in the motel has very good food. The staff is first class. Its definitely the place to stay in Watertown NY.

We stayed for 2 nights . Ray ,on the desk , was very helpful and went beyond and above the call of duty to make sure we had connecting rooms with our friends. Bravo Ray. Tashsa ,the Employee of the Month, was also wonderful as was her Mom Shakira.The room was comfortable and clean and had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. THe wi-fi is complimentary and the breakfast had a hot and cold selection. There is also a full service restaurant on site. Would recommend this hotel and would return there.

"No Heat"

The staff was very friendly but there was no heat. The furnace broke on the Halloween night. WE left the next day. Bought candles to help warm the room. We were given a $50.00 gift card for our in convince. Breakfast was great and it was nice to eat hot food to warm us up.

"Everything you want in a Great Hotel"

We stayed at the BW Watertown as part of our road trip to drive around the shore of Lake Ontario. (Fabulous drive BTW-try it sometime) The BW+ in Niagara Falls CA is also excellent. We stayed here because we prefer BW, -you know what to expect, and this Hotel didn't disappoint. Friendly efficient staff, clean rooms and a great rate. A big added bonus is the excellent attached restaurant, Savory Downtown. We hated to leave. The only weird thing-no electrical outlet in the bathroom.

don't be discouraged from downtown-it's not that big and hotel easy to find.very accomadating staff,spotless rooms,room good size.only problem is there's a few stairs tl lift your luggage if you don't park out front.also a short drive back to all the restaurants

Typical hotel room size & amenities as expected. Older building but highly maintained. maid service could not be better. Quite reasonable cost (with a minor negotiation) for a facility that has an indoor pool, work out gym, full restaurant / bar, and multiple sized banquet rooms in an adjoining wing. "Traveler friendly hotel"

I have stayed at this hotel every year for the past 20 years. I look forward to my stay each time I book my travel plans for this region. The staff are always so friendly and my room has always been very comfy and quiet. Older hotel that is kept up very well. Pool is HUGE. Complimentary breakfast very satisfying. So nice to see the same faces year after year which says something about the way this hotel is ran. I always look forward to my trip to Watertown and my stay at this hotel. It was recommended to me and I will stay no where else when I am in the area.

Convenient location for shopping and restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and there was lots of amenities on site. The hotel is located in an old historical area and is very interesting. "Nice place to visit but you don't want to stay here"

Stayed for a night. I wasn't expecting too much going in knowing the hotel has been around for awhile. But when we got to our room we could hear some gurgling water that sounded like it was going down the corner of the room wall. We called the front desk who said it was probably the A/C but I would be pretty surprised if that was true. They offered 1 room on ground floor that looked like a dungeon and had its own strange sound. We stayed with the initial room. Even with the AC on, TV on the gurgling noise was still noticeable and made for a miserable night of sleep. I don't know if other rooms have the same problem but I can't believe they even book this room to anyone. I was so tired that I couldn't even deal with enjoying the breakfast they offer in the morning. i'll stick with the newer hotels in the area in the future.

You letting us know about this issue was actually the first we had heard of it. The room has been out of service since the morning you checked out. We were also able to confirm that it is related to our AC. Being an older hotel we have a roof top cooling tower which has a slow leak. According to our HVAC company this is allowing air into the system which is in turn causing the gurgling sound. I am sorry that we did not have a better room option to relocate you to so that you could have had a good night's sleep. We have stayed here every year for the past 6 years. Always satisfied with the room and staff. Parking can be hard to find if there is an event going on in the ballroom (convention/wedding). Breakfast is so-so but is included in the room rate.

"Will definitely stay here again"

We stayed here because the place we normally stay in Watertown was full. Everyone was so friendly, the rooms were so clean and the facility was very nice. The restaurant was good and had several options from everything to a snack to a full meal. We like this location away from the traffic at the Exit of 81. We learned things about Watertown that we never knew. Thanks to the staff who made our long weekend away great. The hotel has over 300 rooms and they we close to full and we still were always treated with a smile and people were eager to help us in any way.

"Lovely"

This hotel is located in the quiet part of Watertown and is located within driving distance to shopping and restaurants as well as the Zoo. Staff in this hotel are young and very helpful and some even have a smile on their faces which is quite refreshing. We did have a few problems during our stay, but were handled quickly. For those wanting to eat in, there is a restaurant on site. The only real negative is that we had a real door slammer who was in and out of the room many times for one evening which was annoying but we just moved into the bedroom and closed the door.
