"Love the people."
Rodney H, 21 Novembre 2023

I probably should not have given 5 stars but the staff more than made up for the not so good things. The TV and internet are not very good. At times neither worked. They are still remodeling but it was fairly quite and clean. The exceptional thing about this motel is the people. McKenzie (spelling may not be correct) was there last year when we stayed. She has worked up to assistant manager which is great. This young lady knows how to take care of people and make them feel important. The manager is a nice lady that is always ready to help. The other desk personnel are very good too. I was there for a hip replacement and had a difficult time walking. Each morning one of the men that worked there shoveled the snow away from out truck and even did the windshield a time or two. He also put ice melt out. Breakfast is excellent with nice variety. If you are needing a place to stay in Wasilla, we highly recommend Best Western.

"Great place to stay"
aktrav1, 06 Novembre 2023

This hotel is in a nice location by a lake with ducks and beautiful view of mountains. Clean & quiet rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff & breakfast - good rates & pet friendly. This is a nice place!

"Nice place to stay"
William B, 06 Octobre 2023

Beautiful Hotel with Wonderful views, boat docks, patio bar/ restaurant, friendly people. House Keeping staff are super! Never had a issue with front desk, good people. Breakfast is the same as any of the Hiltons in Anchorage. Freshly remodeled, actually still working on it some. 11:30 am the washer will start shaking the entire hotel and its kind of a alarm clock. 12:30 the float plane is going to take off on the lake. other than that it is very peaceful.

"Alaskan adventure"
A4420HVdan, 19 Septembre 2023

Greeting was informal, pleasant and felt genuine. When the gym was not available due to remodel i became concerned that standards may be loose. But everything was beyond expectations. They were helpful, friendly, courteous. I was visiting my brother who is ill so i plan to return and will stay again. I would say everything was EXCELLENT!

"Beautiful Hotel"
Shannan C, 20 Août 2023

We had a great stay August 2023. The prices were high and go down the second week of Sept. Other than that, what a great property! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room, 1116, has been updated and has a lake view. The property is just beautiful and peaceful whether you are enjoying it from your private balcony or eating at the restaurant/breakfast area outside on the decks. We will be back to Wasilla soon and plan to stay here again!

"Great Hotel"
Tracey M, 22 Juillet 2023

Loved this hotel, especially the lake view. The employees were all so friendly, the room and bed were comfortable and we loved the googly eyes on many of the paintings. Upon check in we were given free snacks and bottle water which was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was good, but the breakfast room was a little small. The rooms were quiet and very clean.

"Great customer service"
viatorw, 17 Juillet 2023

We arrived as a walk in due to unexpected circumstances. Desk staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us for as long as we needed. This was a great location for all outings we had planned. Will definitely return in the future.

"Too much money"
T4011STsteves, 16 Juillet 2023

No elevator, no air conditioning, shower water was lukewarm and breakfast didn't start till 7. Room was way too warm to sleep. Hotel was clean. Had a promotion “stay 2 nights get $50 - clerk had no idea about it.

"Loved Lake Lucille"
OnAir668753, 26 Juin 2023

This was a great hotel with a great location. The staff was very friendly and professional. The breakfast offering was excellent. The rooms extremely clean and comfortable. The views of the lake were beautiful

"Not Recommended"
John0629, 23 Juin 2023

Our tour booked this hotel and it looked fine from the write-up and web site but pictures are deceiving. It did not have an elevator so you have to request help or carry it up yourself. The AC consists of stand up units BUT be aware that the filters are full of dirt and may not been cleaned for years! No heater in the bathroom and the room heater has one speed. Breakfast was decent but did not have just plain black tea.

"Beautiful, Quiet surroundings On a Lake Shore"
Brian H, 23 Juin 2023

Off the main road, on the shores of a peaceful lake, this quiet place is a great location to stay. Average price for Alaska. Breakfast buffet with eggs, waffles, and breakfast meats (yogurts, cereals, bagels, juices, etc). No AC in our room which was fine for mid June but may be a warm sleep mid July. Would definitely stay here again.

"Travel Industry Advisors and Tour Operators Beware!"
Jeanie J, 16 Janvier 2023

I visited this hotel last year to see if it would work to bring my group to the hotel this year. I just got off the phone with the manager, who unprofessionally put me on hold twice while I was speaking with her. I wanted to book 30 rooms for two nights. She flatley told me no, even though there were rooms available. Not interested in my business. She first told me she did not do groups. She then told me she couldn't take my group on the dates I requested because there was already a group there. Obviously she is already contracted with some company that she already works with and is not interested in any new business. So don't waste your time here. Very disappointed in the total lack of professionalism I experienced. Avoid.

"Amazing view and quite place real Alaska experience"
timaden613, 24 Novembre 2022

The rooms always clean and if you got a room on lake side you got a little deck to stand out on and enjoy it The stuff is always great been staying there for along time and they treat you like family I always stay at this hotel over any hotel in anchorage or wasilla and drive to anchorage for my daily business I need it worth the drive

"Caught in a snowstorm"
Ricky M, 09 Novembre 2022

We were driving from Denali to Anchorage when it started snowing and the wind blowing hard. After driving for a couple of hours we were so exhausted and happy to find a Best Western hotel for the night.

"Great Place to Stay With Pets"
Kerry R, 04 Novembre 2022

I appreciate that this Best Western allows pets since my veterinarian is in Wasilla, 200 miles from our home. Additionally, the location is pretty central to everything I need to do while visiting the Valley. THANK YOU!

"Watch out"
christinaak16, 17 Octobre 2022

We stayed at this location while waiting for our heat and hot water fixed at home. When we checked in our reservation was given away. The toilet did not work. The day time and food hospitality employees were very rude and made rude comments to my special needs children. When we did make a complaint they kicked us out and I had to call for police escort due to not feeling safe and my children being scared.

"Overnight stay"
MrsCMartin18, 06 Octobre 2022

I stayed the night to avoid an early morning drive. Staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. I recommend this place to stay. My boys enjoyed the grounds when they were there too.

"New baby visit"
mrp33511, 17 Septembre 2022

Visiting our daughter and son-in-law for the arrival of their first baby. The location was perfect and view of the lake and mountains stunning. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The room is clean and full of amenities I need. It is an older building but kept up nicely. Very Alaskan theme and decor may be kitschy for some, byy it hey, it's Alaska!

"Great view and friendly staff, other things need some work"
14janelleg, 13 Septembre 2022

Pros: Beautiful lake view Every front desk staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful Cons: Even though we stayed in September and turned the heat down in the rooms the moment we arrived, rooms still got up to 79 degrees. The fan that was in the room stopped working the 2nd night. Breakfast food was almost inedible. Would be nice if they had more tables or areas to sit outside and eat besides just the one swing with the cushion full of old duck food. The first day after we stayed the night housekeeping only came in and made the beds. Trash was not emptied, no new towels given. The second day we made sure to be gone from our room by 11am and hung the "please make up room" sign on the door however housekeeping never came. No beds made, no trash emptied and no new towels given. I understand everywhere is short staffed but if that's the case then there needs to be a discount for no housekeeping. If I wanted no housekeeping then I might as well have stayed in an AirBnb.

"Amazing room, but..."
veryuniquetraveler, 26 Août 2022

Upon arrival we were very pleased to have received the lakeview suite we had reserved. Also glad we had a first floor room as we never would have made it upstairs with our luggage without an elevator, which should be installed by next year. Suite was huge and had 2 balconies overlooking the lake, a large leather couch and dining table in the living room, and a huge vanity with double sinks in the bathroom. Also had a make-up mirror. Only things we didn't like about it was the hand held shower and the fact that there weren't any chairs on the balconies. Rooms had no A/C, so you had to leave the sliding glass doors open to get any air. Unfortunately, couldn't do that overnight, so it got rather stuffy. Breakfast was a massive disappointment!! HOT breakfast started at 7AM, however, there was nothing hot about it. Only thing warm was the gravy. Biscuits were cold, although soft. Omelette patty was stone cold. I couldn't even choke it down. Potatoes were also cold and hard in the center. They were too spicy for me to eat in the first place. So, I had a biscuit and gravy and a small fruit cup. There was also hardly no where to sit. Only a couple of tables in the lobby and a few more in a small room down the hall. We went back to our room. The hotel should be much better when they get their restaurant opened. For now, the worst thing about staying here is that you have to drive back into town, about 10 min. to get any dinner.

"Almost Good"
John S, 09 Août 2022

Great views, happy friendly staff, food close by, old old hotel - no air conditioning - so if your going there in the summer hope for cooler temps. The rustic motif is excellent for 'cabin in the woods' lovers. Not what I would consider a Business Traveler's hotel - but there are none within 45 miles (Anchorage).

"Gorgeous lake views"
Jbl907, 06 Août 2022

We reserved a parking lot view but got an unexpected upgrade to lake view, possibly because of ongoing remodeling work. The lake view was incredible and there was even a small patio and screen door. It would be worth the price if staying there again. We also loved the dock and grounds by the lake. I could see the room getting hot during warm spells, but for typical Alaska weather we enjoyed the combination of screen door + two tower fans in room much more than the typical hotel AC unit. The decor was very Alaskan with mounted animals in the lobby and nature paintings in the hallways and room. Good hot breakfast. The TV service was missing a few local channels but otherwise fine.

"Great location but basic facilities"
Paul M, 03 Août 2022

This is very much a pet friendly hotel and is therefore unsuitable for anyone who either dislikes dogs, cats etc or has any pet allergies. Rooms reflect pets have stayed and were not deep cleaned. Basic room amenities and room was dark with view to the car park. Building work was underway which meant that access to the lake side was limited. Approximately one and a half hours drive from Anchorage airport but a good location by the lakeside.

"Best place to stay in the Valley"
vonkiser, 01 Août 2022

Beautiful property. Rooms are nice, staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning is a nice touch as well. Ask for a lakeside room, you won't regret it! I stay there everytime it's practical for me to do so.

"Clean and comfortable rooms with a hot breakfast"
S8674RWsusanm, 16 Juillet 2022

I really like this hotel. It's on a lake. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. There are some restaurants that are within 2 miles that were great. Recommendations of the staff. I would definitely go back.

"No AC and Urine /musty smells awful!"
Departure286316, 30 Juin 2022

Room smelled like Urine and no AC. Also smelled musty,, Also , hotel is under renovations and amenities were not available. I wish I knew before I booked. they should have informed guests prior to booking.

"Very Basic"
marggrif, 27 Juin 2022

The setting was beautiful, but every other aspect was pretty basic. No elevator so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. No air conditioning so it took quite a while for us to cool our room by opening the window and turning on the fan. There were areas being renovated so breakfast was held in a tiny room.

"Great stay"
romanpiekosz, 25 Juin 2022

Even during remodeling, the hotel crew has offered the maximum comfort we needed. The place is located by beautiful lake. View from the rear terrace is gorgeous. Room was clean and breakfast was tasty. What else can you expect? Interior part of hotel has great displays of wild animals which can be (or cannot be) find in the mountains. Whoever has missed the opportunity to see them in wild, can meet them almost face to face. I wish to stay longer in this hotel and enjoy the lake, but our schedule was very busy, so we had to leave right after the breakfast. I strongly recommend this hotel! RomanP

"Avoid this hotel"
birdlady500, 24 Juin 2022

Despite having reservations for over four months we were given the last room available. It was supposed to be a non-pet room, but when we opened the door the reek of dog urine made our eyes water. The evening desk clerk tried to help by bringing extra fans but admitted the odor was bad and leaving the patio door open was unsafe. She said she would ask the manager about a discount. However, the day desk clerk was surly when we inquired about that. In addition the washing machine in the laundry room was broken and the breakfast cook failed to show. This property is definitely not up to Best Western standards.

"Convenient stop to break up drive"
Dreamtowander, 22 Juin 2022

We stayed one night in transit between Denali and the Matanuska glacier. The hotel is situated on a quiet lake. The hotel could be much better with a refresh of the rooms, lobby and hallways. Breakfast was typical for a Best Western.

"Expected better"
MargaretMoya, 21 Juin 2022

Staff was professional. Halls smell like cigarettes and screaming kids in the middle of the night down hallway. Thin walls. No elevator. Breakfast was empty when we went to eat. Pricey for what you get.

"Would not recommend"
toddk215, 11 Juin 2022

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Although our room was one of the few with a screen door leading to the patio, the screen was duct taped closed making the patio useless. the hotel advertises self service laundry and We planned on doing laundry. However, the machines weren't working. The icing on the cake was when my teenaged son was rudely asked to show his room key when entering the breakfast room. It seemed as though he was profiled because he has long hair and a beard since he was the only person stopped. When I told the women that he was with me, she no longer wanted to see a room key.

"Friendly staff and overall good experience"
victorjP8958VG, 11 Juin 2022

We stayed at the Best Western for two nights. I had called in advance to request a first floor room since there are no elevators. Once we arrived the front desk was very polite and courteous. Our room was on the first floor as requested and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was included with our room. Excellent views over Lake Lucille. I would stay at this location again

"STAY AWAY!"
tvgubbins, 02 Juin 2022

No air conditioning! Untrained staff! You'll be sorry you stayed here! Nobody cared about the guests. This place is going through a remodel and they blame everything on the remodel, This place should close up until they complete the remodel and they train their employees properly!

"Pleased as punch"
brett572022, 12 Mai 2022

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay here. The only negative we had was the thermostat setting didn't work properly. Great view of the lake and close to everything and everyone we wanted to see.

"needs updating"
yesyes111, 07 Mai 2022

While this is not a horrible hotel, Best Western needs to come and update. It is "tired and showing is warts". Best thing about this hotel is the view of the lake. Come on Best Western - you have so many good places. This is one that needs your attention. The staff did not appear to be proud of their hotel. They were indifferent ...

"What a great stay"
JoeOB, 30 Avril 2022

Outstanding service, plenty of parking even if pulling a trailer, lake and Mountain View is outstanding, complimentary breakfast was excellent. Easy access to hotel from main highway. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

"Noisy Atmosphere!"
astark178, 26 Avril 2022

Kids using furniture as trampoline above people with pets, lousy placement of guests and dirty room for 200$ a night! Gave a discount but should've got entire stay free! Doors slam at ALL hours and kids running halls half the night getting dogs barking....just Loudy experience for VERY Expensive price!!

"Vacation"
Rose S, 24 Avril 2022

The view of mountain and lake are breathtaking. The breakfast lounge views are outstanding. Central located. Housekeeping went over and beyond. Front desk knowledgeable of area. Rooms clean. We needed roll away bed which was comfortable.

"Top notch in every way."
Rodney H, 08 Avril 2022

Very nice building that appears to be newly remodeled. Super clean with nice size rooms.nice hot breakfast in dining room looking out over a beautiful frozen lake.staff was very friendly and helpful. Off the highway enough to be very quite. We highly recommend staying here.

"Comfortable King Suite"
themcarthurfamily, 14 Mars 2022

Very clean and spacious suite. Excellent service. Bed could be softer. Beautiful view of Lake. Nice continental breakfast with a large eating space with large windows overlooking the lake! No elevator to take luggage to second floor

"Awesome!"
TSmith_007, 08 Février 2022

I love this place! The staff was super friendly and helpful with all of my needs. The location on the lake is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast was a huge perk! A lot of hotels we've stayed at recently are still doing minimal breakfasts and even though Lake Lucille is short staffed, I didn't seem to notice with all the effort they put into creating a welcoming stay for their guests. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

"Marijuana smoke throughout the non smoking hotel"
AKWildflowers, 05 Février 2022

Don't stay here. So much for “non smoking hotel” marijuana smoke was overwhelming in the hotel hallways!! Brought to managements attention. Was told “there is nothing we can do”. No partial refund. No cameras in the hallways. “I could move to a different hallway”. (If it didn't smell like smoke too that might have been a good option). Hotel should be able to enforce their own “no smoking policy”. Overpriced. Underwhelmed. Won't be back.

"OK"
ferschey, 03 Février 2022

The room was alright, a little bit outdated but clean. My complaint is the noise from outside that I could hear in our room. I was tired and sleepy, but barking dogs in the hallway woke me up too early. Perhaps I was assigned to a room that is too closed to pet-friendly ones but I sure didn't appreciated being woken up too early when I still needed some rest.

"Bad weather"
tshangin, 07 Janvier 2022

The weather was bad and so we couldn't use the internet or the tv, than the port went out, no back up generator. No running water, toilet or power of any sort. Couldn't leave. Luckily we didn't get cold. No emergency lights or anything.

"Pleasant, Adequate and Convenient"
rtxtreme, 31 Octobre 2021

We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again. Room was spacious and clean. Cable TV offered many channels. Complementary breakfast from 7-10 was a nice option. The WiFi provided a strong signal. Plenty of parking available. Front desk was fast and friendly. The location is easy and convenient and the lake front scenery is very nice. Only negative thing I could ad is my wife and I found the bed mattress to be to firm for our ideal comfort.

"Don't stay here"
shawnhshawn, 18 Septembre 2021

Called in advance made reservations told them I was in Fairbanks and would not be there till 11:00 pm girl said no problem took my card number and said I had reservations for room when we got there that night this lady that helped us look high as f out of her mind saying they gave my room out and there booked full so my Wife and I had to load baby and boy and things back in to car and look for a room 12 calls later we find one room in anchorage at the Dimond hotel but had only one bed not 2 like we reserved at the best western I will not be stay there ever again

"lovely mountain and lake views"
koabug, 10 Septembre 2021

nice hotel near the lake to watch boats and waterbirds. Its a bit far from everything if you don't have a car (we were on a tour). my room had a fridge, coffee maker, toiletries, and a/c even though you didn't need it in sept. only 1 tv channel could be found so pretty quiet night. since I was on the 2nd floor I kept the balcony door open to get some fresh air. no elevator to the 2nd floor. breakfast was interesting- each item was individually wrapped for sanitation purpose- hot pocket of ham, cheese and egg, 2 sausages, baked country potatoes, prepackage muffins and scones, oatmeal, cereal, milk, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cheese, and coffee. no juice though.

"Lakefront is beautiful"
Fishaz3, 30 Août 2021

We loved the property and watching the sunset from the gazebo. Our room left MUCH to be desired. Half the grout was gone from the bathroom floor. Our room was easily 90 degrees when we walked in. Someone had fabricated a door lock for the window.....unsure why or how that worked. The TV was extremely blurry. When we arrived, I waited 10 minutes at the desk for someone to show up. The phone rang and rang, with no one around. If you are only there to sleep, it is quite a gorgeous lakefront property and worth a visit.

"Poor Quality"
kathieforney, 28 Août 2021

Disappointing property. Room smelled of mildew, air conditioner did not work, beds uncomfortable, screen door broken. All other reviews with these complaints confirmed as of this date. Breakfast was SO bad we had to forgo our meal. Awful individually wrapped processed eggs and sausages. Better food out of a vending machine.

"Lake View"
Baigou, 28 Août 2021

Room was large and comfortable and I suggest getting a Lake View room. Lovely views and ducks galore to entertain. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker , everything you need.. We do recommend this hotel. It is the 2nd time we have stayed here and if it works in our schedule we will be sure to stay again.

"Great stay"
mjb1127, 13 Août 2021

We loved our 1 night stay here. It's so beautiful with the deck and property overlooking Lake Lucille. The room also had a balcony. The hotel included breakfast had eggs and potatoes along with continental breakfast. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. We also used the guest laundry which came in handy.

"Relaxing"
klhupp3, 12 Août 2021

Great view of lake and MTS , Staff was great, Enjoyed all the art located in hotel, Enjoyed watching all the wildlife using the lake, Would stay here again. Rooms and furniture are need of update, but beds were good.

"Deferred Maintenance"
130ralphb, 03 Août 2021

I found this facility to have significant deferred maintenance issues. Mostly due to painting being overlooked. The rafter tails on the main building were badly cracked and appear to be rotting. Decking needs painting. The dock needs repairs and painting. In our room the curtain rod was hanging down on one end due to the screw having fallen out of the sheetrock. The chairs were threadbare. There was an odor in the room perhaps due to deferred carpet shampooing.

"A waste of a nice location"
aparker252, 25 Juillet 2021

Nice scenery outside the hotel, but that's all that's going for this one. Stayed July 2021. Had to change rooms 3 times to find a clean one (one had hair in clumps in the bathroom, another had used toothpicks on the bed). Property smells musty and could use an overhaul. Breakfast was mediocre at best. With some fresh decor and better cleaning this could be a really nice hotel. What a waste to squander this lovely location.

"Better than I expected"
fwillison, 15 Juillet 2021

This property is an excellent choice in the area. The building is older and somewhat dated, but they keep it incredibly clean and in good repair. The carpets appear to have been replaced fairly recently. No odors or stains. Having stayed at plenty of properties at all levels, I think this a good choice and while not a Ritz Carlton experience, it is completely acceptable, clean and pleasant for anyone regardless of budget.

"Beautiful View"
momto213, 12 Juillet 2021

We were unexpectedly assigned a room with a beautiful lake view. Breakfast was as good as could be expected with the COVID restrictions. We waited for more than 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to check us in, but that was the only complaint.

"Wonderful location on the lake"
PenelopeA2, 11 Juillet 2021

Good: •beautiful lake and mountain views •grab and go breakfast was nice with yogurt, oatmeal, cheese, fruit, juice, and snack bars •room was pretty clean •friendly staff Bad: •no elevator made it hard to haul our big suitcases up the stairs •the bathroom sink was clogged and the toilet didn't flush well

"Lovely place"
karoleigh, 09 Juillet 2021

The property was lovely, but I'm going to break it down by categories so I can evaluate it fairly. Amenities: Breakfast—5. It included both hot and cold foods. It was quite adequate for us! Swimming pool—0. There was no pool or hot tub. Parking—5. There was plenty of free parking. Check-in and check-out—5. Both were handled well. Refrigerator—5. Computers and printer—5. Wi-Fi—4. Not the fastest, but adequate for our needs. Guest room: Bed comfort—5. Pillows—5. Bathroom-5. Shower curtain—3. One torn hook. Deck overlooking the lake—5. Screen door by balcony—not in good shape—0. Exterior: The exterior rated a 5 with me because of the beautiful lawn and garden. The hotel is located next to a beautiful lake. Ducks swam in the lake. Location: 3. Not a great location if you're looking for multiple dining options. We drove back to town for dinner.

"2 Day Stay"
Alexa K, 08 Juillet 2021

This is a motel at best. I give it three stars because my specific room was clean, and it gave us a place to stay comfortably for two nights. We are a large group and some of the rooms smelled awful. I am not sure if it was mold or something else, but it was quite unbearable. They have a small breakfast that is take and go. I recommend this for short term stays in Wasilla, but do not expect too much.

"Functional Stay"
kaylaartt, 05 Juillet 2021

We stayed here overnight during a visit to Denali. While the room was fine with a view of the lake, the bathroom door did not close properly, and clearly, the door was previously damaged because it was dragging. This is not up to the standards of a Best Western. The grab-and-go breakfast worked and was appreciated.

"Great place to stay"
line10, 01 Juillet 2021

Ask for a room on the lake and you won't be disappointed. Rooms and bath are clean and the views of the lake are amazing. Beautiful grounds to walk as well as very nice decks and waterfront piers to relax on.

"3rd Visit and it's the Best"
motherlion2010, 29 Juin 2021

The lake view is absolutely beautiful. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast is still bagged due to Covid and remodeling of restaurant. Rooms have great room darkening curtains and oscillating fans. This was our 3rd time staying there.

"excellent rating due to price for what you got"
travelwhenIcan67, 28 Juin 2021

stayed here 1st night after flying into Anchorage on way to Talkeetna next day. arrived late front desk gal greeted us with a smile, room was spacious and clean with beautiful lake views. close to town to stock up on groceries before heading north, 1st hotel I've been in since COVID that has resumed a better (variety and hot items to select, not a single "brown bag") included breakfast

"The best hotel I stayed at in Alaska. No seriously."
Bruce A, 14 Juin 2021

I spent 11 days in Alaska, including Anchorage, Seward, Talkeetna, and Denali National Park, and this was the best hotel I stayed at during that time. Service was friendly, the front desk was fully staffed, the room was very clean, and breakfast in the morning both existed and was free. The lobby was decorated with taxidermied Alaskan megafauna which would perhaps be tacky elsewhere but fit well in Alaska. But the real star of the show is Lake Lucile. This hotel is on the shores of a gorgeous lake, with mountains behind the lake. There is a gazebo where you can have a romantic lakeside picnic and a dock where you can go out and see the many species of birds that call the lake home. We saw red-necked grebes doing their mating ritual and we even saw a seaplane take off from the lake.

"Our Favorite!"

After staying in different motels as we traveled through Alaska, Lake Lucille Inn was our favorite. Our room with a small deck overlooked the beautiful lake. What a view! We loved the hot breakfast, and the lobby was fun for photos of the Grizzly and other animals. We enjoyed walking around on the lake decks and listening to the ducks and geese. We slept well, too!

While this facility is not a Best Western Plus, it is comfortable. The rooms are adequately furnished, good sized and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the breakfast is an expanded continental breakfast which includes cheese omelettes, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, various juices, coffee and tea.

"The heat is turned off as soon as the snow melts"
shovlhd79, 18 Mai 2021

Entering the room, it was cold so we turned the heat on. My wife called for a blanket, we were tired after a 7 hour drive so we went too sleep. Woke up in the morning and it was still 62 degrees in the room so we informed the front desk there was something wrong with the heat. We were told that they turned the building heat off for the season and offered us extra blankets and a space heater. I would think that kind of information would be offered at check in, not after you have to report it to the staff, and certainly not the look my wife got from the front desk for not knowing that turning the heat off was a normal thing. I cancelled the remaining 4 nights and ended staying in Anchorage at a Millennium Hotel, who assured me that their heat was on and would remain on for the duration of our stay. The Hotel I usually stay at in Anchorage was closed due to covid. (Best Western Golden Lion) Please don't do that anymore!

Very accommodating to our basketball team's needs for reservations, price quotes, breakfast, and housekeeping services. Amazing housekeepers we left a $100.00 tip for the 8 rooms and 4 nights that we stayed. You all are ROCK STARS!!

"Shame on you Best Western"
tsummers48, 24 Mars 2021

It would have probably been more comfortable to sleep on the floor. King bed was very very uncomfortable. For both me and my gf. Everything is ancient, grungy, old. This place hasn't had a renovation in over 20 yrs I'd guess. Fridge could be cut in half. No pad of paper, pen. No complimentary water. Had to ask for a ice bucket. Teenie little pillows? Nothing to watch on their cheap cable package. Just ghetto. The employees don't even wear uniforms. To charge 115 a night is robbery. This place is a dump. Had I known it would be like this...i wouldn't have stayed. I'd be surprised if this dump can remain open.

"I want to like this hotel."
jrk2744, 09 Mars 2021

This hotel is situated on pristine lakefront property. The views are Alaska at its best. It is such a shame that it isn't maintained better. The staff was fabulous but the hotel smells funny and just overall is dingy. There were several lightbulbs out in our room. And the doorway at the end of the hall that leads to the outside was supposed to be locked between 11 PM and 7 AM. It was never locked anyone could come and go at any time of night.

We spent the night at the best Western on Lake Lucille. In these Covid times we had a wonderful stay! The person at the desk went out of their way to make us feel at home. With plenty of coffee on hand, computer workstation is available, relaxing atmosphere. The lake was awesome and the scenery was gorgeous! I would recommend it to anyone.

"Be aware there is NO elevator in this hotel, there are 2 sets of fairly steep steps to get to the 2nd floor"
PADJM22, 12 Septembre 2020

I was disappointed in this hotel for the amenities compared to several other Best Westerns I have stayed in. First there was NO elevator to go to the 2nd floor. Also you had to request a microwave if you wanted one, most other BW have microwaves in the room. The sheets were very scratchy and they used a blanket instead of a normal thick comforter. From what I understand sheets get washed, those thin brown blankets do not get washed. This was the only hotel in my 14 days of travel that did not have shampoo, soap dispensers on the wall, instead they used the small bottles, which I noticed was previously used, as the bottle was not full. I booked this hotel for the amenities for the hot breakfast and bar/ lounge area, which did not exist anymore. I understand Covid changed things quite a bit, but many of the other motels still served a hot breakfast and they supplied gloves and sanitizer which worked well. When asked why this one did not I was told because they did not have enough staff to supervise the breakfast room area. I also commented that masks was pretty nonexistent in Wasilla and the desk clerk replied that is because Alaskans don't want to be told what to do. Their breakfast was a brown bag consisting of a small bottle of water, a very small piece of fruit, either an apple or an orange, a sugary snack bar and a sugary cup of mixed fruit. Very unhealthy food. I really feel this room was overcharging their daily rate as originally I thought I would be saving on breakfast costs but it turned out I had to go out and pay for breakfast every day. The only positive about this place was the view of the lake, that was outstanding. But overall, I was very disappointed with this Best Western.

"Beautiful setting"

I have stayed at Lake Lucille Inn many times, and find consistently sparklingly clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Since the restaurant is no longer open, I would suggest they offer a menu of close by food delivery choices.

I am a repeat customer to this hotel. It is on a beautiful Lake in Wasilla & is convenient for visiting friends in the area. Staff is the best here. Very friendly & approachable. My only complaint would be a little updating of the furniture. Beds are hard.

"Good accommodations fair price."
dmandarrin, 17 Juillet 2020

There is someone there 24/7 to help at the front desk. Pet friendly and rooms are nice. Has a beautiful view of the lake in the back. Breakfast in the morning too. Only thing is there is no elevator to get to the second floor. Nice place to stay though. Thank you!

"Great Customer Service"
mikegY1913YB, 11 Juillet 2020

We spent two nights in Wasilla after a week of camping, and were very pleased with the hotel. The room was clean and had the usual amenities one expects from a chain hotel. What set this place apart was the helpful staff. We had an issue with the sound on the TV and the front desk staff came down to spend 15 minutes trying to sort it out for us. While there my 4 year old peppered her with questions, which she graciously entertained. We'll definitely be back if we find ourselves in a need of room in Wasilla again.

Nice hotel with great staff. They went above and beyond what we expected. They catered to our every need. They actually did our laundry for us they opened up the kitchen just so we could get coffee and they helped us print documents from the internet.

"Same great view since 2004! "
Perdido, 21 Février 2020

I absolutely love the setting of this beautiful hotel! We ended up buying property on our very first visit to Alaska. We bought down in Ninilchik on the bluff which is not too far from Homer. The first night we arrived in Anchorage in 2004 we drove to Wasilla and stayed at the Best Western . It was referred to me by someone at the motor vehicle office in Lawrenceville Georgia. I will never forget it. The Best Western left a newspaper at our room . The next morning as we are about to depart we quickly read the paper on the back deck overlooking the gorgeous lake. It was all about President Ronald Reagan's death. I remember looking out that summer day at the beautiful water and thinking I will be back here someday. This is my third visit to this beautiful hotel! We were in room 1100. It is a king size room overlooking the lake with a small balcony attached. I found the bed to be comfortable. The pillows were comfortable too. And I'm very picky about pillows. The breakfast the next morning was spectacular! My favorite part without a doubt was the tea they had. I drank some kind of fire ginger tea that was the best I've ever had. In fact I went back and got two more glasses. The gal in the food area was very accommodating! I'm so glad that I called and talked to Kaylee. She booked me a great room! Thank you! I only have one complaint about this hotel. I hate to even complain but I must say a few things to help other guests. When we went to leave it was snowing and there were a few patches of slush on the curb. I was terrified I was going to fall. There was no way my husband could pull right to the curb to pick me up because there was not one but two trucks blocking anyone from getting directly from the exit doors (under cover) to their vehicle. These vehicles were blocking any other vehicles from entering the covered area. I waited at the door for my husband to pick me up. I watched a gentleman unload something tall in a box and another box filled with four or five bottles of downy fabric softener. Where I come from if you see a guest standing on the curb and you are making a delivery , you quickly unload your items from your truck and then move out of the loading and unloading zone. It's the courteous thing to do. Oh No This wasn't the case here. It turns out the manager is the woman I saw with the delivery gentleman. They both went inside while I walked a little ways to our car NOT able to move under the covered area because of the two trucks. I'm saying this because this is just not courteous for a hotel to do to their guests. Especially when it's snowing and there are clumps of slushy ice. And it's even more alarming that the manager was part of the entire incident and did not think to tell the driver of the truck “let's move one of these trucks so people that are patrons here can get in and out of their cars easier without getting in the snow”. I'm sorry if I'm saying this offensively but I think it needs to be said so that another guest does not experience this. Other than that we had a lovely stay! I loved the room! And although it may be a year or two .... I'll be back!

It wasn't a bad visit. The room was cold! I cranked the heat and put the foot cover at the base of the window and exterior door and pushed the chair up against the window. The a.c. unit wasn't covered.

"Staff is Wonderful! But..."
Freezingmytoesoff, 10 Janvier 2020

Hotel rooms were clean and spacious. Absolutely everyone of the staff I spoke with was wonderful and very friendly! Here is my complaint- I get that it is Alaska and it is cold here...But they didn't have the heater on over 55* (or at all from what I could tell) in the Lobby or the Breakfast area. Come on!! It's Alaska! Turn on the heat!! They didn't even have the fire place in the lobby going. There were just few guests in the hotel since it was during the week, so I suspect they were trying to save some money. The poor staff at the front were in jackets and had to stay huddled around space heaters. The breakfast room was so cold that my coffee wouldn't stay warm for long and my food got cold before I could finish it. I had to wear a jacket, wool socks and gloves to eat breakfast. I suspect in the summer this place is beautiful, with the views of the lake. I would love to come back in the summer when it is warm enough to have breakfast.

"Nice for one night"
ronanor, 16 Novembre 2019

Cute lake-side hotel, with nice staff, interesting decorations and nice breakfast. The parking lot is huge but at night doesn't feel very safe. In the room you can hear noise from the trains passing by, all night, so you should really ask for a room facing the lake and not the parking lot. There's no elevator, take that in mind.

"Great Lake View and Cozy"
dishanw, 07 Novembre 2019

The hotel is very Alaskan when you enter, with stuffed animal hanging all over the walls. Very cozy and gives the feeling of a cottage. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a nice suite with sitting room and everything needed. The room comes with a free breakfast and the internet is decent about 5mbps on average. The hotel has only two floors with a great view of the lake. The only draw back is that it has NO elevator.

"Nice place for area."
weedwakr, 04 Novembre 2019

Beautiful setting! There is no operable restaurant for food at night, ordering out was only option. The bar is normally not open either however we hit it during the 39 day period they opened it for liquor license purposes. It's a shame they don't utilize these services, it's such a beautiful setting.

"Great Hotel"
bernadettecummings, 06 Octobre 2019

Fantastic hotel for October. Perfect location, not to far away from places to eat, but far enough from the road so it's quiet. Parking lot floods a bit in the rain though. Breakfast was awesome. Something different nearly every day. Despite this being a pet friendly hotel, my room did not smell of any pets having been in it. Some rooms have a balcony or patio. If the time of year you visit allows for it, definitely see if you can get a room with the outdoor space because it will look out to Lake Lucille and it's stunning.

"Stay at BW Lake Lucille Inn, Wasilla, AK"
pearsondesigns, 26 Septembre 2019

This reservation was last minute on my journey through Alaska. I had called to find a place in Palmer or Wasilla and this was there suggestion from 800-Best Western. I had no problem finding the location and couldn't have a better site on the lake and beautiful Mountain View. All accommodations were excellent. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for your hospitality and great price.

"Avoid unless necessary!"
Mike A C, 22 Septembre 2019

Drove up to Wasilla as tourists. Good reviews posted on Trip Advisor. This is a dated hotel with no room upgrades. Very 1980's. Although tired from trip, wife decided to skip on taking a bath given worn and motley appearance of tub and bathroom. First room assigned to us had a barking dog in adjacent room. Clerk was perplexed since that room was supposed to be unoccupied. We were given a new room on second floor (no elevator). At 7:30 pm, a worker started to cut a hole through ceiling with electric saw to fix something in laundry room next to our own room. The laundry room had a hand-written on door advising that it was closed. Definitely not worth $100/night even considering high cost of everything in Alaska. I stay in a lot of similarly priced hotels every year and this was the worst in a long time.

"Older well kept property, No A/C"
TeslaRacer, 06 Septembre 2019

Beautiful lake scene. But, not a place to stay if hot temps day and night if you like to sleep in cool room. Other than that, a quaint place to stay. Beds and linens and towels were0f good quality. The blooming hanging pots and flowers were a great touch.

"Outstanding Service, Older Property on the Lake"
GoGirl4m3, 01 Septembre 2019

The staff here is very helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was varied and had something for everyone. For a buffet, their daily scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. It was fabulous to start our day overlooking the lake. Our beds were comfortable and bathroom towels were soft and absorbent. Are room temperature was our only issue. The older heating and cooling system does not work properly. The room had a free standing fan which was insignificant. In the middle of the night it horribly hot and miserable. So if you are planning a stay in summer and enjoy sleeping in a cool room, this is not a hotel for you.

"Wasilla AK"

BW but very clean and friendly staff. Hot breakfast is included which makes it easy in the morning and good start for the day. Located on a beautiful lake. Also, the clerk advised us of a pizza location nearby that had good pizza. Also, we went back a second time to eat there.

This was a stopover on our way to Fairbanks and Denali. It was a gem ! Right on the lake and the rooms are very good. Great service. It was good enough we stayed here on our way back to Anchorage.Had a room with a view of the lake. It was very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was pretty good and a good start tio the day. Will stay here again ! Thanks Liz for booking our hotel in Soldotna !

"Enjoy the lake"
gaydoswendy, 14 Août 2019

The lake view rooms are great having your own private deck. Their is seating near the lake as well on the deck. The grounds are very nicely landscaped. The rooms are very clean. The area by the fireplace is welcoming. We also enjoyed a real breakfast in the running room with a beautiful lake view. The staff was very friendly and professional.

"Great Hotel in a Beautiful Setting"
ktnc2015, 01 Août 2019

This is a great hotel right on Lake Lucille, with the mountains in the background. Few Best Westerns provide the beautiful patio views and gorgeous grounds found at this location. We had a balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery and I really could have stayed here longer than the 2 nights we were there- truly a place to relax and get energized! All staff members who assisted us were super nice and eager to help.

Weather permitted sitting by the lake and viewing the ducks and their baby chicks, Calm waters on the lake was very picturesque. Thank goodness for blackout curtains as the daylight was hard to adjust to. 11:00 pm and still bright outside. Taxidermy in the lobbies were interesting and worth taking pictures of. Good time.

"Gorgeous Lake"
LydiaStorm, 11 Juillet 2019

I love this hotel. Lake Lucille with the mountains behind it make such a lovely setting. The staff is always welcoming and a complimentary hot breakfast adds value to the stay. The balcony provides a nice place to sit to take in the view. I also love to walk down to the dock and dip my feet in the water in the summer. Be sure to request a lakeside room. It will cost more, but it is worth it!

"After the wedding "
raven99803, 06 Juillet 2019

Went to Wasilla for a family wedding. Stayed here after. The rooms are nice, the views are fantastic! What a beautiful way to relax. Eat complimentary breakfast overlooking Lake Lucille. After walk down to the lake with a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace. The only drawback was it was hot here and there is no air conditioning. Rooms were super hot.

"Beautiful location"
My3Sons2800, 05 Juillet 2019

The property location is far nicer than you might imagine. The room was super clean and the staff very pleasant. The included breakfast was fine, albeit uninspired. I felt the rate was higher than it should be for this brand. I would absolutely stay here again, if a better nightly rate was available. Huge deck overlooking the lake. Great place for a glass of wine or beer (your own, no bar or restaurant here) If you have kayak or canoe, there are even facilities for launch!

"Best Best Western"

"Acessibility"
Seaside28069966879, 03 Juillet 2019

I was promised an accessible room and DID NOT receive one. It made for a very uncomfortable stay and very hard on my care giver. For someone in a wheelchair it is very hard to maneuver around a hotel that is not accessible.

"Nice views from the room of the lake, but room nothing special"
nlbulh, 26 Juin 2019

We stayed for one night in the hotel on our way to Valdez. The room was adequate but I must say that the sheets and even the towels in the bathroom had seen better days … time to throw them all out people and replace with new white sets please. The breakfast buffet is a typical American Best Western .. all sugar, YUK!. We skipped it for a cup of coffee each looking at the lovely view of the lake from the breakfast room.

"Beautiful View from Our Room"
TN2ndHome, 16 Juin 2019

We had a view overlooking the lake. We were able to walk along the lake. The breakfast was in a room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. The breakfast was good. The room was clean. Room had sliding door to the outside with a small balcony but no chairs outside. Location easy to find. We were on the first floor, so I did not look to see if elevator. Breakfast room had some stairs but there was seating on the level we walked in. Staff was friendly. We had a room across from the laundry room so it was a little noisy during the day but quiet at night. We could see the trains from the Alaska Railroad from the hotel parking lot. We would stay here again.

"Lovely Hotel"
GrandTour32455007696, 04 Juin 2019

This is a lovely hotel in Wasilla, AK. The only drawback was there was no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up stairs and the pillows went flat when I leaned on them which I found a little strange. The view of the lake was very pretty though and the atmosphere was good.

"A Unique Setting"
LSJ6, 31 Mai 2019

Best Western Lake Lucille We were stayed 5 nights at the Lake Lucille BW again this year while visiting relatives. This funky little hotel has a unique setting on beautiful Lake Lucille. You will never had a view at breakfast like the one here. The breakfast is standard BW fare but everything is looked after and it's pretty good. The internet seems better than it has been in the past so I think they've been working on that. The fitness room should be closed until it can be updated. My sister and I went down to the exercise room and found the Eliptical and bike machines weren't working. The treadmill belt would “catch” if you changed speeds. The staff said they are ordering new equipment. We never could find a channel guide for the TV but we didn't ask the front desk for one. Staff is friendly and responsive to any needs. A nice front desk gal got us extra blankets one night before we went to bed. We had a lake side room downstairs(no elevator) and had no screen on the door. We requested and got our screen the second day which allowed us to let in the cool evening air and keep bugs out. There are two microwave ovens downstairs and washer & dryers on second floor that work well. Overall this is a great place to stay in Wasilla....The staff is nice and you have everything you need. The location is great for exploring the area. You can wake up to ducks and birds on the lake and watch planes taking off and landing. This isn't a brand new ‘hotel; and it is a bit quirky, but we really have enjoyed our stays here.

"Magnificent Views"

"Lovely visit and property"
Nomad53579689995, 29 Mai 2019

My first time to Alaska and I'm so glad we stayed at the Best Western Lake Lucille. The rooms were lovely, right on the lake. Breakfast with a lake view and coffee pots in the room to make your own. The front desk people were always there and very helpful. I definitely will make this my "Go to Place" next time I visit Wassilla Alaska. I think the best part was, being technology challenged, the lady at the desk went out of her way to help me get my airline check in completed. Amazing staff

"Beautiful Place To Stay"

This is a beautiful location with sights you don't get anywhere else! Relaxing atmosphere and beautiful grounds and docks to take walks on. Would love to be back there!

"BEAUTIFUL VIEW BUT ROOMS STINK!"
H1968YYlindaa, 06 Avril 2019

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here in last year - We stay for a week at a time. Both times there has been issues with the smell of very strong cigarette smoke and strong cologne that comes through ventilation in bathroom. Even after moving to a different room. We couldn't get staff to even come see what we were talking about. Beds and pillows are terribly uncomfortable. Breakfast is dry- seemed stale. The only reason I am giving an average rating is because the view is incredible and rooms seemed clean enough. These people are sitting on a gold mine and must not realize it! A little attention to detail and this would be a destination hotel!

"Bday for our daughter's friend and a special night for mom and dad"
Venture43095727603, 03 Avril 2019

It was a fun time, to enjoy our daughters friends bday slumber party and then we got to go to our own room and escape (another parent was the chaperone for the evening). Great breakfast in the morning, enjoying the beautiful setting on the lake and lots of laughter and giggles.

"Great location, very Alaskan. 2nd Floor..."
12EvanH, 22 Mars 2019

Great location on north side of Lake Lucille, right in Wasilla, so it is very convenient, too. The hotel does achieve a very nice Alaskan motif and feel, because they use real Alaskan stuff not "made overseas" décor. We stayed a week and EVERYONE in customer service was friendly and fast action. The breakfast was consistently, very good, with great lake view. If you like, get a lake view room with a nice little patio. My advice - get the 2nd floor. On the 1st floor, could hear everyone walking around above like the 4 year old twins running around, heavy foot, boot wearing folks, even 1 maid making the bed above. Wi-fi worked perfectly in the room and the 2 business computers worked fine, too. For Wasilla, where we've been 10 times, excluding 1 cabin location, this is the #1 hotel.

"Steer clear!"
Robert D, 18 Février 2019

Was supposed to have a king room, was provided a king ADA room with no closet area for two weeks of work clothes. Cramped outdated room, just afair hot breakfast. Was offered a different king room for $30 per night more. The associates were very nice and professional, they were put in a position to apologize for owners that are underfunded or have no pride in ownership. There were 7 of us that found far superior lodging options for the 6 weeks we will be in town.

This hotel's location is amazing. The breakfast was more than adequate. The staff is very friendly. I had a great experience and stay. This hotel is a gem. It's setting is amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

"Bumps and bruises but ok"
jra3, 12 Janvier 2019

This property may not show the best in the winter. Summer looks promising. My frozen lake facing room has a nice deck that appeared to offer a nice view, had it been July and not January. Back to the present. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable enough. My room had a major area of peaking wallpaper, but looked like it was more related to the recent earthquake than deferred maintenance. Service was meh, at best. Cold but efficient check in and out. Breakfast posted for 7am wasn't opened until closer to 7:15. May not seem bad, but when there are a bunch of people waiting to go to work or hit the road, an inconvenient delay.

"No Elevator! "
smokynationalpark, 12 Octobre 2018

There is no elevator in this hotel. I requested a first floor room and they insisted none we're avaobe even though there was no one at the hotel. The parking lot was practically empty. I recommend you book a handicap room if you need a first floor room. On the positives the lake is beautiful and the free breakfast is better than most hotels. However any hotel that that does not have an elevator is a MOTEL and is not worthy of anything beyond 2 stars. Think of it as a nice Motel 6.

"A great value"
robertnadel, 10 Octobre 2018

Rooms are a little dated, but very comfortable hotel. Stayed there for 5 days. Quiet part of town (except when the planes take off from the lake - 2 in 5 days). Hotel is right on the lake, beautiful view. Free breakfast a little better than most.

"Nice place to stay--this isn't the Ritz"
RetiredMilitary, 05 Octobre 2018

This is a great property next to Lake Lucille, easily accessible from the highway. The front desk staff are friendly and pleasing. The decor in the lobby area is definitely Alaskan. The rooms seem a little dated and are fairly basic. The room I was in did have a mini-fridge, fairly good selection of TV channels, that wonderful parking lot view (go for the lake view!). There is no elevator, so if you get a second floor room, be prepared to schlep your luggage up the stairs. I only wish there was a blanket in the room; there was a stand up heater, but I didn't want to hear it cycle all night long or dry the room out too much. The free breakfast in the morning had french toast, Canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, various breads, yogurts, juices, and muffins. I'd stay here again.

"Outstanding place to stay"
Carl16, 03 Octobre 2018

We stayed one night and were very impressed with everything about this hotel. The location is one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. Beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The hotel is very clean and well run, Breakfast was perfect in a huge room with views of the lake and mountains. Also could eat outside on a large deck if the weather is good. All good. I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else in Wasilla.

"One of the nicest Best Westerns available."
nage0136, 29 Septembre 2018

We had a great experience staying at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn in Wasilla, AK. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was adequate for a morning meal. The hotel and guest rooms were clean and well kept. Overall, I would have to say this is the nicest Best Western Hotel that I have seen.

"Used to be a great place to stay"
Roseann M, 23 Septembre 2018

This hotel has really gone down in my estimation. We were given a room on the second floor, no elevator. We had 4 big bags (fishing gear) and numerous carry-ons. We're in our late 60s and lugging these bags up the stairs was a real chore. The room was fine, clean but outdated. There is no restaurant any more and none within walking distance. The cost was comparable to better hotels nearby. We had a view of the parking lot. There is no air conditioning and the temps were in the 80s. Room very stuffy. Opened the window and turned on the fan. Took hours to cool off. Breakfast was good which is why it got an Average rating.

"Clean and comfortable"
Tracy Z, 22 Septembre 2018

We stayed one night with a beautiful view of the lake. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast foods included a variety of hot and cold items, with a large eating area. We'd definitely recommend staying at the BW Wasilla.

"Luxury Stay"
karunnion, 04 Septembre 2018

Love this Best Western Hotel! It's very clean, quiet and has a beautiful yard with a lake! The balcony rooms are amazing and the view is so peaceful. Has lots of pillows, comfy bed, great shower pressure and very clean. One of my favorite places to stay! Worth the $$$

"Good one night stay"
BrianMaryAdventures, 02 Septembre 2018

Cozy little room, just like all Best Western's you seen one you've seen em all. Lake Lucille is in the back, and the lawn was a nice place to walk our little Sandy. Pet friendly, and the breakfast bar looked great. We just grabbed coffee though and headed to IHOP lol

"no elevator-really"
Jim M, 01 Septembre 2018

Nice hotel, very beautiful location. Has a laundry facility on the second floor and has a luggage cart on the second floor. Incredibly no elevator to get from floor one the floor two. That just does not make sense. I cannot imagine how it is even compliant with the law. It is too bad that such a great location is hampered by that but if you have trouble to go negotiating stairs, especially with luggage, this is not your place to go.

"Needs repairs"
Genny M, 19 Août 2018

This hotel is really in need of some attention. I was put here for a business trip. The staff would not honor the corporate rate for us to stay a day early, even though they had done so 2 weeks prior. Reason was given that they were almost sold out. I had a terrible time charging my electronics devices due to the plug ins being worn out. I froze the first night there due to the comforter basically being a thin sheet. I could not shut the bathroom door all the way due to the door getting stuck on the uneven floor tiles. The frosting on the cake was that my sweatshirt hoodie fell on the floor. When I picked it up I could not miss the smell of pee on my sweatshirt. I actually checked out early and drove 5 hours through the night to home. Enough was enough. The outside grounds are well maintained. Looking out on the lake is quite lovely. There is a nice breakfast in the AM. Staff was friendly

"Family Vacation"
Patrice W, 08 Août 2018

There is no elevator and we were on the 2nd floor. There is no bell hop so we had to carry our suitcases upstairs by ourselves. The hotel front desk was vacant upon arrival and we waited for them to come back (not very welcoming attitude). Our 1st room had a broken toilet and the floor in the bathroom vas sticky but they swapped us out immediately. There was no working AC, but we were provided a fan. There is no pool and no jacuzzi. You cannot swim in the lake. This place has potential for a 5 star if they invested in it a little bit. Great location with a view of the lake in the breakfast room. Breakfast was great. The final room we had was clean a good size. The hotel in general was dated and kinda dark.

"EPIC VIEWS FROM THE BEST WESTERN ON LAKE LUCILLE!"
cynthiasantana67, 29 Juillet 2018

The view from this hotel was just breathtaking! Mountains and beautiful Lake Lucille! So happy we stayed here...very reasonably priced! Make sure to pay the extra $10-$20 for Lake View with balcony...great!

"Located on beautiful Lake Lucille"
SteveAndPeachie, 27 Juillet 2018

Our land tour group spent two nights at this facility. The rooms were clean and the grounds were very manicured. The first night we all felt like pizza for a change, ordered take out, ate it on the patio with a beautiful lake view. Each morning breakfast was provided and was very good. It was warm weather, the AC didn't work but a room fan was provided for adequate comfort. There were two washers and dryers but one of each were marked "out of order". Other than that and a broken toilet seat, we had a good experience.

"Location, location, location"
mdgrubbs, 24 Juillet 2018

Located on beautiful Lake Lucille. Nice staff, clean rooms, excellent wifi and a million dollar view. This hotel has the typical breakfast EXCEPT the room has plenty of tables and a gorgeous view. Behind the hotel are docks and flat plane docks. Did I mention I love the view.

"Family Trip & Wedding"
Susan M, 23 Juillet 2018

Great stay! This is a beautiful property with an awesome view from the lakeside rooms and deck located off the breakfast room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. It was reasonably priced and in a great location to other area attractions.

"Get the lakeside room!"
Sistersonatrip, 19 Juillet 2018

This was a clean, comfortable motel. Nothing fancy. No AC but they did tell us that AC was about to be installed. BUT the lake was worth the stay! We enjoyed walking out to the lake and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the view.

"Loved it"
eMBieAntwerp, 18 Juillet 2018

Great stay. Large room with two double beds, fridge, TV and balcony, tea coffee making facilities but no aircon nor a safe. To cool us down a bit during the night the hotel provides a ventilator in each room. Very good bathroom with high water pressure in the shower. Lovely location on the lake with beautiful views from your balcony. Nicely maintained garden and lawns. Slept well, was very quiet at night, breakfast was good. Can highly recommend.

"Beautiful Property - Great Stay"
Connie F, 17 Juillet 2018

We stayed here after our flight to Anchorage on the way to Denali (so arrived late and left early). The hotel is clean and we had a beautiful view from our balcony of the lake. The breakfast was good in the AM and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the lake as well. Staff that we came in contact with was helpful and courteous,

"Simply beautiful location on lake"
swell30, 15 Juillet 2018

Nothing really matters once you see the lake! Second floor rooms might feel safer leaving deck door open at night-- it was in the 70s when we were there, so we wanted a breeze. We were first floor and it was easy to hop to the car. Ample parking and front desk was accommodating. Rustic, not plush. Nice breakfast.

"Beautiful property"
tiredteacher2, 09 Juillet 2018

This hotel sits on the shore of Lake Lucille which is quite lovely. The service at the front desk, however, is somewhat lacking. The personnel acted like they were too busy or something to worry about guest inquiries. This is Alaska, but it was still warm and when questioned about air conditioning we were told just to leave the rear door to the room open at night. Also, due to handicapped issues stairs are a problem. Was told to go outside and walk around building to reach lower level..

"Comfortable room with great view "
Full50, 09 Juillet 2018

On our vacation to Alaska we needed a halfway point from Anchorage to Denali so we saw this hotel in Wasilla and we chosen because it looked pretty nice. The woman at the front desk was nice and she was friendly. Once we got to our room the first thing I noticed was the private deck that overlooked the lake and the mountains in the distance. The beds were just right and we slept well.

"Nice place with awesome views"
Tracey S, 06 Juillet 2018

We stayed her as our house was being renovated and needed a place for a view days. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff is warm and friendly. The property is right on Lake Lucille and just an awesome view as you enjoy you morning coffee or an afternoon drink.

"Very Good "
Bsomi, 03 Juillet 2018

I chose this hotel as a stop between our drive from Seward to Denali. It was just the right amount of time to break up the drive. The hotel is on a very nice lake and well-maintained. The staff here was very nice. There are no elevators so if taking stairs is an issue for you make sure to request a room on the 1st floor. We had quite a bit of luggage and struggled a bit getting upstairs. There are coin washer and dryers for the floor. There was a nice free breakfast which was convenient for us heading out. Just what you would expect from a Best Western.

"Beautiful morning views"
thepowells2016, 01 Juillet 2018

Quick layover en route to Denali National Park. The hotel was clean, the employees were kind and considerate. The hot breakfast was a perfect way to start our drive to Denali NP. The beautiful view from the breakfast room looks out on the lake. Room was clean and comfortable for a single night stay. Property is directly off the highway -- easy access.

"Pretty average for a Best Western"
Connie H, 19 Juin 2018

The good things.... Pretty average for a Best Western. You expect a certain level of comfort and you get that here. The room, bed and bath were very clean. The bed was VERY comfortable (I have no back problems but I'm really picky about beds and this one was just firm enough/just soft enough....) The tap water in the room was so delicious I must have drunk a gallon each evening. It was sweet and ice cold. No need for the bottled stuff here. The full hot breakfast buffet was acceptable - not inventive at all - scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, breakfast potatoes (actually these were GOOD) and pancakes or waffles. But it was very welcome because there is NO place anywhere close to eat and it filled my tummy each morning before heading out. Now the bad thing.... Housekeeping was spotty... In fact one day, they didn't even clean my room. Another day they failed to restock the drinking glasses and cups... This is what dragged my overall rating down.... otherwise it would have been higher. Because there are really only two hotels (and one tiny motel) in Wasilla, I would still recommend this hotel. But if I have to go up again.... I think I'll try the other hotel, just to make a comparison.... stand by for that review....

"Friendly staff just old rooms"
Ritchelle D, 18 Juin 2018

The front desk staff were so accommodating and nice. Super friendly! However the rooms felt like nothing was updated in the last decade unfortunately- even the bed sheets felt worn out. Breakfast was standard.

"Lovely Lake"
Alaskan Adventu... R, 17 Juin 2018

As a local from Fairbanks, I always stay here when going through Wasilla. Rooms are decent, the breakfast is ok and the rates are reasonable. The view of the lake is beautiful and the hotel lobby is adorable.

"Clean, comfortable and super view!"
hollythankful, 14 Juin 2018

We stayed one night in Wasilla because we didnt want to drive all the way back to Anchorage after seeing Denali so we thought we would get within an hour of the anchorage airport and go rest of the way the next morning. This place was a pleasant surprise! It was clean, comfortable, with good breakfast and very nice staff. They upgraded us to lake view room and it was amazing. The view was superb! Peaceful lake with loons and ducks with awesome mountains beyond.

"Pleasant Surprise!"
Jeworkma, 12 Juin 2018

My mom and I had a great stay. We had a large king suite--larger than we needed but it was the only availability. And we enjoyed it immensely. The lake-facing rooms have patios and patio doors and wonderful views of the lake and mountains. The hotel has been nicely updated. Our room had a comfy leather couch, newer carpet, nice TVs, and good bathroom. Breakfast was enjoyable each morning, with its expansive views and food options. The only disappointment we had was the exercise room. I don't think it gets much use or attention, as the treadmill was the only working-order piece of equipment. But we made due. Also the end exterior door didn't seem to lock, leaving pause, but the hotel is in a quiet area. Overall this hotel is in great shape and we were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our experience.

"Beautiful facility, wonderful location."
SDAnnie, 30 Mai 2018

On a two week trip in Alaska we stayed in several Best Westerns. We were very shocked that this facility was not a BW Plus. I guess it is because they do not have a pool. It was the nicest cleanest BW we stayed at. Very friendly clerks as well. It sits on a beautiful lake that is very peaceful. Very nice room. Our only complaint was a high school track team staying there, and our room seemed to be in the center of all of their rooms. Kids were running back and forth slamming doors, so it was very noisy. To the credit of their coach or advisor, they did quiet down by 10:30 or so. I can't fault the motel for the noise, except if they knew they were coming, we would certainly have preferred to be put in a different area. Great breakfast room and food overlooking the lake.

"Nice Rest After a Long Road Trip!"
mike y, 19 Mai 2018

We just completed a 4700 mile road trip and Wasilla was our last stop. After eight nights of motels and eating out, this Best Western was a very comfortable and quiet end to our travels. The room was very clean and was only lacking a microwave. the beds were very comfortable and we both slept in the next day and didn't want to get up. Our room had a small balcony with a beautiful views of the lake. This was the nicest hotel stay I have had in Wasilla and I would definitely use their facilities again. If I had one complaint it was the charge for pets. We travel with our dogs all the time and we are used to pet fees but a $20/pet is a little extravagant. I can see the $20 fee but for each dog? To us it only hurts the room service staff, because I will never leave a tip for a room that charges us that much extra for a pet. There are still hotels out there that do not even charge a fee. But as I said this was a very nice hotel and we would stay again.

"broken door lock night clerk sleeping on sofa"
satellite2xs, 10 Mai 2018

booked 2 rooms for 2 people I was able to gain access to my room early afternoon all was fine. 2nd party was not with at the time. When arrived after the evening event at 10pm the 2nd party could not gain access to room due to broken lock maintenance was called and gained entry with hammer and crowbar and could not repair was not given different room and was told not to leave without leaving door open because he could not fix it. Didn't care at this point as we had to be up at 4 am to get to anchorage to catch our flight. Upon leaving in the morning night clerk was sleeping on the sofa left access cards on the keyboard and walked out, It was clean and quiet place to stay but my experience will keep me from choosing it again

"think twice"
cynthialjones, 09 Mai 2018

This facility is very lacking in customer service skills. Reservation or not to gain and retain customers in a declining economy those available need to feel reassured they are getting the very best value for every dollar they spend.

"Use caution in parking lot"
dkbrady52, 26 Avril 2018

The main parking area is a ways from the front door. It was covered in ice although outlying area had been cleared. Luckily I had somewhat safe snow boots but pulling my suitcase thru the ice was very difficult. The hotel has no elevator and the room was very cold because the thermostat was set at 60. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

"Great place to stay!"
4everinak, 01 Avril 2018

This was a great place for us to rest our head for 5 nights the last part of March 2018, we enjoyed our stay here, it was a mellow place, the breakfast was good every time and the view... well, just beautiful!

"Rooms are good. "
Jerry G, 09 Mars 2018

I checked in and got to room to find the thermostat set at 60. Takes 2 hours to get the temp up to 70. The breakfast advertised is nothing special at all. Pastries are hard as a rock. Hot food is not hot. If your expectations aren't very high it might be ok. It's not a compl breakfast like The printer in the “business” center won't auto feed because the top case is cracked. The rooms are large and have been updated. The bath room was ok. WiFi worked well. TV was large and worked fine. Bed was ok. The bathroom at the lobby for the men smells very bad.

"Beautiful views and comfy"
User, 26 Février 2018

We are frequent guests here and LOVE the great breakfast and wonderful atmosphere! Hotel is close to restaurants and shopping. Very comfortable and watching the ice fisherman and the float planes take off on the frozen lake was a highlight.

"Beautiful Views - Horrible Service"
melissawH9992QH, 23 Décembre 2017

I want to give this hotel 5 stars so badly, but I just can't. It makes me so sad. This particular hotel has so much potential to be an excellent hotel.I went online and checked it out ahead of time. When I got there, it was plain to see that current management didn't really put any love into the place. I had to try to walk up a hill of ice - this was the only establishment that did NOT put out ice-melting product even though their entrance is UPHILL from the parking lot. The front doors are not automatic, so you have to pull them open and lug your luggage inside. There is NO ELEVATOR at this location. The front desk lady told me, "you're on the second floor, but you're close to the stairs." Ok. I had to lug my heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs. The laundry room smells awful. There is ONE community microwave. And, yes, it's dirty. There are air purifiers in every room, which is nice; HOWEVER, they are clogged with (?)years of dust. None of the vending machines tell you how much anything costs. There is a lovely deck out back with a bench swing, but the door closes behind you and locks you out - no key access. You have to walk AROUND the hotel in order to get back inside. I love the building itself. I wonder what year it was built and I imagine it was a grand place, but I was very let down in the management and service - to myself AND to the building, so much potential, no love and no care. The women who worked the front desk were very depressing. No smiles, no sense of human emotion. I very much dislike writing a review like this. Overall, I had a place to sleep and shower. A lovely view out back of Lake Lucille.

"Very pleasant stay"
malcolmmanners, 15 Décembre 2017

I've stayed here several times, often with groups of university students. Rooms are good, staff is pleasant and helpful, and they do one of the best included hotel breakfasts I've had anywhere. I look forward to taking another group to stay, soon.

"My stay in Wasilia AK"
Dorothy B, 26 Novembre 2017

It was a wonderful experience. Lovely hotel and staff. I was able to park my semi there. My room was comfy. Great place to stay. I hope to return in the spring. The lake was awesome. The decor in the hotel lobby was nice. I took alot of pictures. I had a really nice time.

"Hmmm."
N173ZRryanj, 19 Novembre 2017

The hotel wasn't bad, until a bag full of drugs(cocaine, I think, pills and weed) was found in my room between the mattress. My kids were staying with me as well. The room obviously wasn't thoroughly cleaned after the previous guest.

"Could have easily been better"
Larry N, 17 Novembre 2017

First, the positive: bed was extremely comfortable and the view from out back was amazing! Checkout person was very nice and helpful. Now, the negative: one particular staff member who was present at check-in offered nothing but smart-alecky answers (clearly she doesn't like her job). The breakfast food was OK, but was practically the same every day (the breakfast meat MIGHT change daily, but not necessarily). TREADMILL IS DANGEROUS! Belt was constantly slipping while trying to walk--running would definitely have resulted in injury. Water pressure was inconsistent as was heat during showers. Window in room did not close all the way. Fan in room did not work (which I would have liked for white noise). I will not stay here again unless I have to.

"Fun times"
peachclobberher, 13 Novembre 2017

The bed was super comfy! Room was clean and overall I had no issues with this Hotel. Will be staying here the next time I come down. Staff was friendly and the breakfast wasn't too bad. It was worth the price.

"Lake Lucille"
thewixter, 08 Novembre 2017

Best Western Lake Lucille is right on the banks of Lake Lucille. Beautiful grounds and lake views with mountains in the background. Very good breakfast with eggs, sausage, fruit, juices, waffles, etc. Only drawback is their restaurant is closed and there really isn't one within walking distance unless you walk down Highway 3 or the railroad tracks. But there is a very good Mexican restaurant, Chepo's, about a half mile back toward town and several within Wasilla. But the stillness of the lake and the incredible lake and mountain views make up for the lack of eateries. Some great taxidermy animals make it even more interesting.

"Great stay"
Christine K, 07 Novembre 2017

Comfortable, clean and very quiet rooms. The staff went out of their way to change my room after my neighbors kept me awake most of the night. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and the view from the dining room of Lake Lucille and the surrounding mountains was spectacular.

"Scenic loacation"
OHMike64, 16 Octobre 2017

The hotel is located just off the Parks Highway on the shore of Lake Lucille. It is far enough away from the highway to void the highway noise, but convenient to restaurants and attractions. Rooms are nice and comfortable and a lakeside room will give you great views of the lake and the mountains. There is a free hot breakfast, which is excellent, and the breakfast area provides great views. Off season rates make this hotel a real bargain.

"Best Western Lake Lucille Inn"
452gabriellet, 30 Septembre 2017

This is the first time I stayed at this hotel. It is located off the main highway. There is a lot of highway construction at this time, it can be difficult to maneuver through in the dark if you don't know your way around. There are a lot of strip-malls located off the highway close to the hotel. I arrived in the dark, and my first impression was that it was in a commercial zone based on the businesses nearby. The front entrance was average. My first impression was so so, partially based upon seeing two drunk men walking back to their rooms, and acting obnoxious. I did not mention this to the clerk. The lobby was average, the many stuffed animals of Alaska to see mounted on the walls make it more interesting. The room was average. It was clean, but seemed a little used. No smells on the pillows or bedding. The mattress was a little firm, but comfortable. I had a good night sleep. In the light of day, the hotel seemed better. I saw the lake for the first time, which is next to the hotel. The view of the mountains and lake this morning was beautiful. There was still greenery, along with the changing color of the leaves. It is a pretty time of year in AK. There is an expansive lawn behind the hotel, gazebo to sit and drink coffee while looking at the lake. It left me with a better impression. I would stay here again, in part because it is a BW hotel.

"No heat"
454dallasm, 26 Septembre 2017

3 of us went to a conference and stayed here for 1 night. We were freezing and our thermostats said 65. It was 40 degrees at night and we felt it! We called down to the front desk and nobody answered. We were all tired and miserable the next day.

"Great view, horrible WiFi"
Dr_Veritas, 20 Septembre 2017

This place has an amazing view from the back side, but sheets and towels are tired, the restaurant and lodge were closed, and worst of all the WiFi in the rooms was worse than non existent because they tell you it is available but it is so bad that you wait 10 minutes for something to load and then get dropped. Add this was a business trip it is essential for mbj to have reliable internet and I couldn't here. I will rethink staying here for that reason. Otherwise a decent place to stay. Although Wasilla is kinda weird. No downtown and lots of strip malls...

"Beautiful view in the breakfast room"
prizmsam, 17 Septembre 2017

This was a wonderful place to stop for the night on the way to Kenai. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot and breakfast was wonderful with a great view to enjoy while eating. Great service for the price!

"Lovely hotel but avoid Room 1201"
ARretired, 15 Septembre 2017

We were warmly greeted when we checked in and had no difficulty finding the hotel with our GPS. We opted for a lake view room and were assigned to Room 1201. The view was lovely but the room was above the deck for the restaurant/dining area. I would recommend requesting a room farther down the hallway as it would likely be much quieter if guests were choosing to socialize on the deck. The hotel lacked an elevator, so be warned if you're unable to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs. The hotel is very close to the town of Wasilla with several nearby dining spots. We enjoyed dinner at the Last Frontier Brewing Company. The sign for the hotel advertises a restaurant and bar, but has neither at this time.

"Gorgeous Views, Nicely kept"
kathykirch51, 10 Septembre 2017

This place was a real treat! We only needed the room for one night because we were traveling through but I could have stayed longer just to take to take in the beauty of the mountains and the lake. We could hear and see the loons too. The breakfast room over looks the lake too What a nice place!! It was clean and comfortable. The front desk person was very nice. They had throws at the end of the bed that were cute so we bought one before we left. Highly recommend!

"What a view!!"
TravelFan48105, 05 Septembre 2017

This hotel has THE most spectacular lake view! The rooms are very adequate and clean with very comfortable beds. They are equipped with a refrigerator and coffee makers. WiFi was free and fast. The breakfast room again offered the gorgeous view of serene Lake Lucille. The breakfast offered eggs, various muffins and breads, whole fruits and cereal. The coffee was good and strong, the best of this trip. Note that there is no elevator at this hotel, so request your room accordingly.

"Great views"
Mike W, 28 Août 2017

Stayed here on a business trip. Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Recommend lake side room. Has a door and balcony with great views, nice lake breeze and relaxing sounds of the wildlife. Great place to unwind after a long day at work.

"LOVED IT!"
Jeanette M, 26 Août 2017

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding in Wasilla. The hotel was very clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Tami at the front desk. The view was spectacular. I would definitely stay here again.

"Wonderful Anniversary Trip"

Boyfriend and I celebrated our 3 year Anniversary. We love this location. Very quiet and relaxing. Nice get away for just the two of us to relax and enjoy our time alone. Can't wait to come back. Awesomeness time!!!

"Truly an AK expierience"
williamc640, 22 Août 2017

A peaceful and beautiful location. Room was very good as was the service. Some renovation was taking place but did not intrude on our stay. The location on the lake gave us magnificent views and alone was worth the stay.

"Peace and quiet with a fantastic view"
159peterdowling, 18 Août 2017

Super value for the money. We stayed there facing the lake. Fed the ducks from our balcony (getting our ducks in a row). Comfortable beds, quiet, and you can fish from the shore. It has a boat ramp for the lake. Only complaint was no restaurant but we went to Evangalines in Wasilla for a fantastic Italian dinner. It was actually better to go out to eat. Very reasonable price ($150) and a real value for an overnight stay on our way to Denali

"Peaceful Place"
735kimberlyo, 16 Août 2017

I have stayed at Best Western Lake Lucille Inn in Wasilla, Alaska many times, I have never been disappointed the walk along the lake is very calming after a long day of work or driving. I do plan on staying here again in the near future.

"Overated and over priced."
robertkE625TJ, 16 Août 2017

Beautiful setting with good bones.Very dated rooms and in need of remodel. Was probably a fantastic place back in the day. Restaurant and Lounge closed..At $230.00 a night for the King suite my expectations were much higher than what was delivered. After many discussions rate finally was discounted.

"Excellent"
Yolanda L, 14 Août 2017

Excellent customer service and the hotel overall was great. Very pleasant stay. I was upgraded, at no extra charge, to a room with a view of the lake because it was my birthday. Check-in and Check-out was quick and easy. Room was nice and clean.

"Wasilla Best Western"
wendybC1412YN, 14 Août 2017

Nice location on Lake Lucille, watching flight planes and having the visiting ducks on the lawn. Average hotel room, with plastic utensils, and cups /glasses in the room. Average place to stay for the night, although easy access to main highway.

"lovely property by the lake"
sarithal2017, 13 Août 2017

This is a fantastic property by the lake. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the view of the lake from the balcony is gorgeous. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the views from the dining room were awesome. Loved everything about the property and wishh we had more time to spend there.

"Excellent breakfast but hotel rooms are terrible!"
vijayde, 10 Août 2017

The television didn't work and neither did the AC. Linens are at least 10 years old! Other than that, the hot breakfast options were very good. The facility had an excellent view of the lake. Good Wi-Fi.

"NICE ROOMS ON THE LAKE"
cat330, 09 Août 2017

The hotel was not at a great location. it was far from any restaurants. it was on a beautiful setting on a lake with balcony views. the grounds were gorgeous. the rooms were big and very updated however internet was not so good. They served a hot breakfast that was good but no lunch or dinner and no restaurant nearby

Roy H, 04 Août 2017

I wish tripadvisor had a "good" rating button. This was better than average, but not something I would rate as "very good." The hotel is on the lake about 1/4 mile back from the main highway. The lakefront is picturesque and quiet. If your room faces the lake, you can open the sliding door in the morning and feed the ducks; they will be there, hoping for a morsel or two. The room had no big issues and was comfortable. There is no A/C in this place, and on this night, I would have appreciated having it because you can't really leave the sliding door open all night. You must make sure your room door is securely closed; ours would not latch on its own momentum. The area of the now-closed restaurant is used for the complimentary breakfast, so there is plenty of room to spread out and a nice view of the lake. The breakfast is about as good as any major chain complimentary breakfasts. It seems this place was once a popular venue for meetings, weddings, family vacations, etc. Maybe it still is, but there did not seem to be lots of guests there when we were there. It looks like BW took it over to see if they could make a go of it. I hope they can because it is a nice place in a good location.

"What a lovely location"
Jhon B, 02 Août 2017

A lovely, quiet clean, and comfortable hotel with safe parking and friendly staff. - a good breakfast daily with a fabulous view, take time to sit on the balcony overlooking the lake and relax, what a pity the restaurant is not open for evening meals..

"Clean, but a few issues"
R8200ITcarolr, 01 Août 2017

We asked for a 1st floor room. I use a cane. We got a 2nd floor room and there was no elevator. We couldn't use the laundry as it was tied up with a tour group. The remote didn't work and there was no air conditioning. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful.

"beautiful location"
IowaTraveller68, 31 Juillet 2017

Hotel has nice location next to lake. Wasilla was a good place to buy supplies for Denali (we liked the Carr's grocery.) Hotel has laundry facility for customers which was helpful. Only shortcoming was old fashioned tv. Breakfast was excellent. Bed very comfortable. Nice spacious room. Helpful staff.

"Nice hotel by the lake"
A3la, 31 Juillet 2017

The frond desk was polite and accommodating. We got a room with lake view. The room was clean. There was a small balcony. Breakfast was good. I think the highlight is the lake. The hotel is decent and it was an enjoyable stay.

"Wow! Spectacular Views!"
ricktammaro, 30 Juillet 2017

Wonderful views of the Lake Lucille and the Chugach mountain ranges from their deck. Everyone friendly, and excellent hot breakfast. Highly recommend this Inn for peace and relaxation from Alaska side adventures.

"Still fabulous after all these years!"
1WorldisEnough, 27 Juillet 2017

We discovered this place in mid-90s on our first visit to Alaska and were really impressed by the beautiful location. We stayed at the inn several subsequent times, and we were thrilled to find it was still in business and still so well maintained on most recent trip to Alaska. The rooms are lovely, clean and well-appointed, with a fridge, coffee supplies, and comfy beds. The wi-fi was excellent - no bandwidth issues at all. This was the least expensive place we stayed during our trip - but it was by far the best. We appreciated the free breakfast in a beautiful setting, the gorgeous and well-maintained building and grounds, and the convenient location to access Wasilla and Palmer attractions. We also really enjoyed hearing Loons each evening from our deck! The only concern was the lack of elevator, which meant we shuttled our luggage upstairs manually. That wasn't really a problem for us, but it could be an issue for others. Get a first floor room if you don't want to lug stuff up stairs. We used the laundry facilities during our stay, which were conveniently located down the hall (although one of the two washers was broken, and the top dryer was extremely noisy). There were a lot of people interested in doing laundry that evening, so the washing machine bottleneck as an inconvenience for them (not for us because we started early). We will enthusiastically stay here again on any future visits to the area!

"Wasilla with a view!"
Dave W, 26 Juillet 2017

We were definitely not sure we picked the right place when we pulled off the main highway as the area nearby is kinda strange. But the hotel itself is situated on a beautiful little lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. We stayed at this place twice on our 2 week vacation. The first night we checked in, we had reserved a 1 King bed room with a sofa bed. When we got there, they gave us a big 1 King bed room, but no sofa bed. They claimed that they "upgraded" their rooms to nicer sofas, but no sofa bed. When I complained, they offered to give us a rollin bed for $20/night more. I reasoned with them to give us a couple air mattresses for free since our original booking should be honored. Their nice manager (Audrey?) accepted my request. Rooms were decent, but the ceiling is thin. If anyone weighs more than 100 lbs above you, you'll hear them all night. No air conditioning in the rooms is a minus as well (only floor units that weren't very effective). Don't really need it too much in Alaska, but it was actually sunny and hot when we were there. The view on the lake is what makes this place. We went out onto the deck and boat docks every day to watch the ducks or planes take off/land. The breakfast area has huge bay windows so you can take in the view while you eat. The place looks like it used to be a restaurant so the eating area is very large... never a worry about sitting anywhere. Food was above average. I would also subtract a half star for the fitness room. It's just plain terrible. When I brought to the front desk attention that the cardio machines didn't work and didn't seem to be plugged in, they really didn't do anything about it. Forced me to jog outdoors which was fine anyways, but if you're gonna have a fitness center, at least invest the $$ to make sure everything's working! Price per night was high, but that was true everywhere in Alaska in the summer since it's tourist season. It's probably the best hotel in Wasilla, and the view and food more than made up for the above issues. If the issues didn't exist, they get 4 stars from me.

"Review of Lake Lucille Inn"
lindsaybY7067HG, 23 Juillet 2017

A couple of Aussies who have stayed at this place 3 times in the past 3 years. We love it and always look forward to returning. Beautiful views, excellent amenities and extremely helpful staff. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Wasilla area.

"Worst Best Western Experience"
Dianagf, 22 Juillet 2017

This hotel is fine from the outside and the only gig in town and this is why they get away with horrible customer service and unclean rooms for a whopping 195 a night! I would not recommend staying here I would look for a AirBNB the price would be the same or cheeper.

"Wasilla Stay"
Tim H, 22 Juillet 2017

Our favorite hotel while in Alaska. Great location on the lake, very quiet, scenic and peaceful. Breakfast is very good, and seating overlooks the lake. Rooms are spacious and clean. Easy access from parking to room.

"Beautiful hotel!"
Christopher C, 20 Juillet 2017

This a wonderful hotel just off the main road with beautiful Alaskan decor and great views of Lake Lucille. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A bonus were the several ducks and their babies wondering about the scenic location!

"Lake Lucille Best Western"
tarah975, 19 Juillet 2017

Hotel was very clean with lodge type setting. The property was well maintained with large deck facing the lake. Off of main road, so no traffic going past, very quiet and peaceful. Rooms were big and clean. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. We extended our stay, since we were very comfortable. Would definitely return.

"Nice sized room, clean and nice view of the lake"
Kate B, 18 Juillet 2017

Stayed one night. Arrived to a clean room. Breakfast the next morning was in a nice big dining room with lots of options to choose from. Overall nice stay. Was a chilly/rainy day, otherwise it would have been nice to hang out on the docks a little longer and enjoy the view.

"Great place too stay"
Irene J, 18 Juillet 2017

Staff was amazing. I woke up at 4:30 am and asked about coffee. They apologized and stated it would be ready in one hour. At 5:15 am the receptionist brought me a cup of coffee and cream & sugar at the computer without my asking. Now that is service you do not see anymore. Excellent.

pleasant staff, pleasant location , restful and peaceful thank you we enjoyed the city, enjoyed Alaska, enjoyed being daylight virtually all day and all night lawn was spacious, lake was beautiful. relaxing fulfilling what else can I say. People in Alaska were unbelievably hospitable

"So Much Potential :("
robert s, 11 Juillet 2017

This hotel is located on a beautiful lake, too bad the views from the rooms are obstructed with large trees. The rooms were not clean (refuse remaining) and were definitely not non-smoking - nasty smell. There was no AC and the provided fan sounded like a freight train. Sink was clogged. The breakfast could have been nice if they items were fresh and prepared well. The sausages were burned, the French toast was hard as a rock, and what was left of the pastries was the poorest selection I have seen in a hotel. The breakfast area is nice, but the tables were not cleaned off and were sticky from syrup, jelly, etc. The wifi was free, quick, and easy to use. We did not use the fitness area of sauna, but those are nice features. The front desk person said that the manager would be in soon and would have a talk with us - we waited. Eventually, we went back down to the desk to find out what was going on. They did work thing out with us. Even with the challenges, the hotel is a nice place to stay and should not be dismissed as a choice if you are considering a stay in the area. This hotel has so much potential and stays could be great with a few improvements.

"Very Pleased!"
T172QRelainem, 11 Juillet 2017

We stayed at this Best Western as we were passing through on our way to Denali. It overlooks a lake and mountains, and there is a beautiful view on their deck. The breakfast was good also. I would highly recommend this hotel in Wasilla.

"Great hotel in Wasilla"
Jessica J, 10 Juillet 2017

We really enjoyed staying here- rooms were nice, good tv and bathrooms, great breakfast included, and beautiful views of the lake. Only negative point is that there is no AC. However they do provide a big fan for each room.

"Stunning!"
maxandash777, 09 Juillet 2017

Everything about this hotel was wonderful! The views are breathtaking! Breakfast was simple but delightful, overlooking the lake. The bed was very comfortable after a long day. The staff was polite and helpful!

"Great night's stay on the way to Denali"
lemonpez34, 01 Juillet 2017

We stopped here on our way from Cooper Landing to Denali. The hotel was a short distance off the highway in a very peaceful setting away from the main highway. Our room was clean and had all the necessities (except no a/c) which is an Alaskan thing at many hotels - we found out. The service was very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast went beyond the norm and had a great selection. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Clean convenient and great view of the lake "
Robert M G, 26 Juin 2017

Not many choices in Wasilla. But this is a very nice place to stay. Breakfast was great. People nice. Friendly and clean. The rooms spacious and modern. Close to fishing and touring. Love the huge stuffed Kodak bear in the lobby.

"The heather did NOT work"
Angel M, 26 Juin 2017

When I book a 4 start hotel, I expect it to be clean and for everything to work. The heater did NOT work, the sink was clogged, I didn't have a shower curtain. I just had a bad experience and on top of that, it cost me $192.00. I will never stay there again!! Angel M.

"Lake Lucille Inn"
Kate M, 25 Juin 2017

Nice location. Attended my son's wedding. The property is right on the lake which was beautiful. It was mid June and the property still looked a little drab because all of the flowers that were to be planted around the property were still in flats by the front door. Otherwise it was a nice location.

"Alaska"
michaelfK6549FR, 24 Juin 2017

This is our 4th visit to Alaska. We found this Best Western 3 trips ago. If you are driving to denali or fairbanks from anchorage this is a fantastic place to stay. It is about 1 hour from the airport and the hotel is great the view is greater. Everything about this property is above average. The staff is fantastic. Enjoy your stay

"get away"
bradr926, 19 Juin 2017

Needed a quick get away from the kids this place was prefect. Its a short trip from anchorage. Plus they had a great complementary breakfast with a amazing view of the lake. Loved watching the planes land and feeding the ducks.

"Great stay "
OntarioCanuck1, 17 Juin 2017

Stopped on the way to Denali National Park from Anchorage, easy access off highway, good clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast, lots of restaurants nearby (no restaurant in hotel), good wifi and tv.

"Bliss"
Catherine U, 15 Juin 2017

What a delightful place, was unsure when we turned off the main road ( high way) as what lay ahead, but it was a perfect place to relax & enjoy the scenery around us. It was heaven after our long drive south from Denali. Sham no where to eat or have a drink in the evening, but the breakfast was outstanding everything you could think of hot or cold just brilliant. Room very comfy with a view over the lake ( you need to book a queen bed x 2 for the view) Staff very friendly & helpful in every department. Will recommend this hotel very highly to friends.

"nice hotel on a lake with a beautiful view- but no elevators"
Susanne S, 14 Juin 2017

We stopped here on our way to Denali for one night. We were very enchanted by the beautiful view and nice rooms which were spacious and very clean. The breakfast had a wide selection of food. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My friend forgot her ebook reader and they wrote us a mail that they have found it ! Thanks for that. I missed a restaurant and an elevator . And please remove the complimentary coffee from the bathroom. Place it in the room somewhere.

"Nice Place on a Budget"
OhioMeisje, 12 Juin 2017

We stayed at this hotel on the way to Denali. Wasilla is one of the last places with hotels before the drive to Healy. The room was clean and comfortable but nothing special. The location on the lake was beautiful with a view of the mountains. Our room didn't have this view but there were rooms that did. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We didn't get to try the breakfast since it opened after we left.

"First time in Wasilla"
Kimberly M, 11 Juin 2017

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The view is amazing from any of the rooms facing the lake. The complimentary breakfast was decent and I would have enjoyed an indoor swimming pool. Ducks came right up to the railing on our patio every day and I couldn't stop taking pictures of the three mountain ranges that surround the lake. You may even get to watch a plane takeoff or land in the water.

"Great Accommodation in a Beautiful Setting"
Jeffnudi, 10 Juin 2017

Everything about our stay was great. Very helpful staff, comfortable quarters, very good selection at breakfast, and the setting could not get much better. Lake Lucille in the foreground and the mountains in the background make this a beautiful place. There is a variety of birds that were pretty interesting to observe. There is a lot of float plane activity during the daytime which made for some interest as well.

"Alaska visit"
R2259FObarbaram, 05 Juin 2017

Beautifully keep grounds and beautiful views from property and room (lake view room). No restaurant or lounge open but delivery menus from three restaurants available in room. Check in person needs training, more interested in stating the rules than welcoming you! Check out person was warm and willing to offer any travel advice.

"Beautiful location"
Patti S, 04 Juin 2017

This is an older hotel with some recent room upgrades. They seemed to be at about 45% occupancy based on the parking lot. Sure would have been a nice gesture to offer us a free upgrade to a lake view room because I bet they had some empty, but no such luck. Too bad because the view is definitely the highlight of this location. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was better than average. I was flabbergasted to learn that they do not have an elevator. Hubby was none too thrilled to haul all our bags up the stairs after a long day of driving. Its a decent value for the price paid, provided you get a first floor room or are OK dragging your stuff up the stairs.

"Stay for the view...little else"
RafflesKing, 04 Juin 2017

Stayed for 1 night transiting from Denali to Anchorage. Location is right off the main highway with lots of fast food and fast casual restaurants nearby. Rooms are dark and in need of renovation. We entered our first room to see the window open and bugs flying around. The staff changed us to next door with a bed size downgrade, but would not reduce our rate. They remarked 'guess I'll just give [the bug filled room] to the drunkest person that checks-in.' The lone pro was that breakfast was delicious and the seating area had a beautiful view.

"Too hot!!"
Kat B, 03 Juin 2017

We checked in about three pm on a nice day, sunny & 68. Our room on the pkg lot side, 2nd floor, was stuffy and 77 degrees so we opened the window; what should have been a clue were two portable fans in the room. We were told there is no A/C; ok, it's Alaska. We went to dinner, sat out on the patio & went to bed about 10. Still 77 degrees in the room. An hour later it was 79, by 11:30 it was 80. I called the desk to have someone come shut off the heat & was told the central heating unit was turned off; I was told to wait because it was cooling off outside. I explained that it was cooler in the sauna downstairs. I was given a different room on the 2nd floor; it was closed up and 79 as well and I didn't want to wait another 8 hours for it to cool. I was given a first floor room in the lakeside with a sliding door instead of a widow. It was closed and 73 inside but quickly dropped to 70. This room had one tower fan as well. We were able to sleep comfortably, although were awakened at 1:30 by people moving in above us. They were not trying to be loud but we could hear every footstep. Breakfast was good and the staff were very personable, except for the obviously stock line to sit & wait for things to get cooler. I'm assuming the hotel is well insulated for winter and holds in heat well. That's great if you're trying to reduce overhead but terrible if you were planning on sleeping during the night. We spoke with a couple who were on the 1st floor pkg lot side & were told it was nearly 4 am before their room became comfortable. We're pretty easy to please--we weren't expecting The Waldorf Astoria; just a place to sleep on the long road to Denali. The location is great and the patio is wonderful. It isn't summer yet, so I can only imagine how hot it will be in those rooms in August! Unless you're from Phoenix, be ready for a long warm night!!

"Fantastic "
User, 01 Juin 2017

Fantastic facility on Lake Lucille. Stunning scenery. Very well maintained. Really impressed by everything. Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Excellent landscaping. Will surely stay here again on a future trip.

"Average stay at a beautiful location"
Nolan E, 26 Mai 2017

Staff is fantastic and one of the best things about this location. Breakfast was a good continental with several hot options but the view from the large dining room was breathtaking! Rooms are slightly dated and no matter how much we fiddled with the thermostat, it never got above 64 degrees in the room. Showers are hot with plenty of water pressure and beds are comfortable. Fitness center had several good equipment options although the elliptical will only go one speed. Great additional conference space for business needs. Wifi was decent. Overall an average stay at a beautiful location.

"Great location"
E1951YOjosephl, 17 Mai 2017

Great place. Picturesque setting. Good breakfast. Plenty of space. Nice layout. Pet friendly helpful staff. Would stay here again. Some older carpeting and decorations in the hallways. Very quiet setting except for occasional train.

"Unethical Liars"
Chris B, 17 Mai 2017

I booked a room with this hotel and at the time of booking I was informed that the first night charged would be charged immediately as a deposit. Day Two I found my credit card was declined. I had found that the hotel had charged the entire stay plus a deposit. This was not mentioned on the booking nor was it mentioned at check in. Being told a one night deposit and then find out you're charged over $500 is not acceptable. Ask for a full disclosure of charges because it's not in print and they won't tell you.

"Beautiful location"
I1797LQcheryls, 14 Mai 2017

Beautiful location looking out over the Lake and out at the mountains. This hotel was off the road so we didn't hear the road noise. Beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. The breakfast view had a fantastic view also. Very relaxing stay. Wonderful stay.

"Excellent "
Clint B, 13 Mai 2017

Had a room on the lake side with a balcony. Good blinds and everything is perfect. I would have liked to stay there the whole trip. Housekeepers are way to aggressive for a Saturday morning, but the rooms are spotless.

"Such a pretty property!"
davisbetsy, 12 Mai 2017

We absolutely loved our short stay here-we wished we had planned to stay a little longer! The grounds and lake were gorgeous and relaxing but it is right in town! There is a breakfast included with the rate that was quite good.

"Excellent, affordable facility"
paulkF3193MZ, 07 Mai 2017

We were highly satisfied with this motel. Room was comfortably warm, not cold when we arrived. Some motels turn down the heat or are so poorly insulated that it takes a good while for the room to become comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was just great and the facilities were very clean and well kept with attention to good quality and decor. The grounds were also superbly kept and attractive.

"Wasilla Best Western"
Thelma H, 26 Avril 2017

We enjoy staying at Best Western, they are friendly and kind. We enjoyed all of the days we stayed there. The weather was perfect, the hotel room was very accommodating. The morning breakfast was the best we had ever had at thishotel.

"Beautiful spot for a staycation"
sheilakn2017, 10 Avril 2017

The dinning room is spectacular but be prepared to walk.No elevator and no busboy.Great breakfast and views.Perfect place for getting away from the city. A hot tub would make it perfect and the dog biscuit is a nice touch

"Views and more"
Steven f, 04 Avril 2017

We were passing thru and needed a place for the night. So glad we stopped here. The prices were great, the views even better. It was a winter stop so the lake is frozen but offered beautiful views of mountains over the lake. Has the usual hotel breakfast with cold cereals, danishes, pancakes and eggs. When staying here request lake side rooms for a great view. The have a lovely deck and lakeside yard to spend some free time relaxing.

"Great lake and mountain views"
datraveler1, 03 Avril 2017

Always request a lake side room, or you look at the parking lot. Needs a few updates, but overall very comfortable place to stay right on the lake, with stellar mountain views. The beds are comfy. Equipped with fans, since the thermostat basically controls nothing. But open the door and put a fan in it, and it cools it right on down.

"Very pleased"
735kimberlyo, 01 Avril 2017

I am happy with the location and I really think the grounds are beautiful, breakfast is better than what I have at home. My only complaint would be that I would like access to hot water for my tea the coffee makers in the rooms make my tea taste awful.

"Beautiful location"
davidsO4771TP, 30 Mars 2017

This is a very nice motel sitting on a beautiful lake with a mountain range backdrop. Lakeside rooms are worth the extra money, but none were available for us and we still enjoyed the views at breakfast. Staff was very friendly and accomodating, and breakfast was fine. The suite, unfortunately, only has one sleeping surface, the king bed - the sofa is not a sofa-sleeper. You cannot reserve a fold-away, so we travelled with a mattress. We enjoyed our stay, as we had friends here, but might try a suite at the less-expensive Alaska's Select Inn in the future - their suite has two beds, a sofa-sleeper, and a kitchenette, though their location is undesirable and noisy (we drove by).

"Lake Lucille Inn"
Kathy M, 26 Novembre 2016

Excellent. We were there for Thanksgiving and could have driven to Anchorage. I would definately choose to stay in Wasilla again. It was a relaxing, beautiful place. Inexpensive too, given the location outside of Anchorage.

"Beautiful views"
Vicki B, 18 Novembre 2016

We stayed here for one night in May. The hotel is average, but the views were just beautiful. It was drizzling so we couldn't sit outside but it was so peaceful. Breakfast was a wonderful spread with better than average hotel choices.

"My absolute FAVORITE place on our entire 10-day trip!"
DianaSavoy, 17 Novembre 2016

This was, by far, my absolute favorite hotel during our 10-day trip. The rooms were very clean and I loved the screen door on our balcony; we slept with the door open and enjoyed the fresh, night air! Beds were clean and comfy, as was the bathroom, with plenty of closet space for all our stuff. The breakfast buffet was fabulous with the best-ever views of the mountains across Lake Lucille. Food was piping hot and always freshly replenished, a good variety, something for everyone in our 11-person group. We all enjoyed the grounds and took scads of pictures from the gazebo and a group picture on the pier. My nieces enjoyed the lobby, filled with wildlife trophies. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here if ever I am blessed to make the trip to Wasilla again.

"Lovely lake location"
Albuquerque108, 12 Novembre 2016

Along side Lucille Lake sits the hotel. The views from outside the hotel and inside from the lakeside rooms are great. Even at this time of year with the lake frozen it is pretty. The rooms are clean and well-kept. Enough plugs for all electronic equipment to have space to charge up. Unusually large fridge compared to most of those in hotel rooms. The staff was kind and friendly and ready to do anything they could for guests. Now the wake up call early in the morning by the fire alarm was not what was expected, but some students staying at the hotel had set it off and the staff was sorry for the incident, no harm no foul.

"Nice place"
Georgia K, 12 Novembre 2016

The setting. Gat and the view out the window is spectacular. The hotel is very clean add the. Stuff ready an d wanting to do anything to help. The breakfast buffet which is included is adequate. This is the only food available at the hotel, restaurant went out of business and never reopened. Too bad what a great location to be able to enjoy a meal. IF you can get a room on the lake side, you will have a lovely view out the large window. The only downside was a school troop setting off a fire alarm at 6:30AM, but the hotel did not cause that. Probably the best hotel in Wasilla.

"Hot gym -like really too hot"
118CRAIG118, 12 Novembre 2016

New carpeting in the room, and the room was okay. The room was too hot, and the only way to cool it off was to open the window. This must have happened before, as the screen was all bent from people accessing the window latch. I never did manage to get the room down to the 69° setting I had placed on the thermostat. The railroad is nearby, but there was only one train around 9 p.m. There was also a hockey team staying here, but they were amazingly quiet. The place is dog friendly, but they charge $20 a night for a dog without you getting anything special. The gymnasium has pretty nice equipment, but it must have been at least 80 degrees in there. There were no towels available, and nothing to wipe down the equipment afterwards. In addition, the bathrooms were locked in the gymnasium. When I went to talk to the reception desk about this problem, they were engrossed in a conversation with a co-worker on the telephone, and did not even acknowledge my presence when I was standing right in front of them. I finally gave up trying to inform them of the problem with the gymnasium. If you go there, take your towel from your room. It will feel like you are exercising in Death Valley. The breakfast buffet was nice. Nothing special, but nice. There is a really nice view across the lake toward the mountains from where you eat breakfast. All in all, this isn't a bad place to stay, but I would call it an average hotel.

"Nice Place to Stay"
John N, 09 Novembre 2016

The room was clean and the service was very good. They had a nice little exercise room that had a sauna. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and they varied the morning's selections each day. I especially liked the blueberry pancakes. The view of Lake Lucille was beautiful. I was happy with my stay here.

"cosy stay"
Dr P, 13 Octobre 2016

Nice lobby in Alaskan style, cosy rooms with a nice bed, great breakfast with a very nice view to the lake. Private balcony with a view to the lake. Was my 4th stay and will come back the next time I am in Alaska.

"Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, Wasilla, Alaska"
Karen T, 13 Octobre 2016

I was very comfortable at the inn and plan to return when I come back to visit family. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The availability of the computers and internet was also appreciated. The breakfasts were great and I enjoyed the work-out room.

"It could be sooo much better"
Antonio G, 07 Octobre 2016

It's clear that the hotel has seen better days. The rooms are outdated. The breakfast area used to be a great restaurant with the spectacular view of the lake and the mountains. Now it's just for breakfast and you feel back in the 90s. That being said, that view is just worth the stay. And the staff was very helpful and nice, a constant every time I've been to Alaska. Is it great? No. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

"Wedding in Wassilla"
Jody E, 03 Octobre 2016

Very nice, clean and comfy. Great hot breakfast included. Beautiful lake view. Close to town and nature both. Didn't use the boat dock but would love to come back during summer season. Very nice grounds.

"breakfast with a magnificent view"
ChillyinAlaska, 01 Octobre 2016

My first impression of the hotel was very good. It was constructed to fit into the environment and nicely done. The grounds were in excellent condition, the parking lot was large and the drive-through loading area was spacious enough for two vehicles to be side by side. The lobby was welcoming. I enjoyed the taxidermy located throughout the reception area. The room was not huge. Which was just fine with me. We weren't there to be in the room. The lake view rooms had their own private deck overlooking Lake Lucille and the shore line. The view of the Alaska Range, the fall colors and the cleanliness of the lake would make a destination wedding venue worthy of even the most discerning bride. The breakfast buffet was top notch, served in a proper restaurant. The only drawback we found was the sun (yes, we have sun in Alaska) exposure made the dining area a bit warm. They have filters screens on the windows, so that made the glare reduced. The food was plentiful, the coffee was not watered down, and the overall appearance and variety was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who was coming to Alaska, or just wants a beautiful quiet staycation locale. Even the ducks in the lake don't quack loudly.

"Great location. Hotel n Amneties are below avg."
Bhanudj, 28 Septembre 2016

Location n breakfast are the only 2 good things going on here. Rest is poor. Rooms are very dated. Towels are yellow n pale in color. They have never been changed since this hotel was built. Change rooms for the sauna are located outside the gym room through a hallway. Anybody can see u in your towels. The bathrooms located inside are locked for some weird reason. Given the location they can do such a better job.

"A real gem"
Buffalo144, 28 Septembre 2016

What a find ! Everything about this hotel is top notch from check in, housekeeping, laundry facilities, breakfast and hotel grounds. We were only planning on a one night stay but my husband became sick , so it turned into a 2 night stay. The front desk recommended an 24 hour general medical facility close to the hotel which turned out to be an excellent choice. The breakfast was superb and the breakfast area with huge windows all across the front overlooked the beautiful lake , pier and mountains complete with a resident flock of ducks who roamed the outside premises. I would suggest a room overlooking the lake. All rooms have balconies that overlook the lake on the lake side. Beds were extremely comfortable. We even saw a couple of float planes land. The hotel does not have an elevator so if you have issues with steps ask for a room on the ground floor. Rates were reasonable since we stayed there in September. We would drive out of our way to stay at this hotel if we were in the area. Could not have asked for anything more !

"Great price"
Willem M, 27 Septembre 2016

We spend two night here on our visit in mid September, the hotel was is a lovely location on the lake, the views are awesome, make sure you get the double room with two beds, that is the one looking onto the lake, the other rooms look onto the car park. The reception lady the first day on check in was not to friendly, how ever the second day on the reception desk there was a lovely help full woman.....

"Beautiful views nice employees"
LCarden, 20 Septembre 2016

I was fortunate enough to get to travel with my husband to Alaska while he had to work.. Wow the views from this place were amazing!!! They have a dock, a large deck, as well as little decks off the rooms where you can sit right on the lake and enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Where your senses can take in the amazingly clean air! Your soul can soak up the majestic views and your mind can actually think of something other than paying the bills on time.. Buy a fishing license, there are nice sized fish in the lake, you can fish and picnic right on the dock! The rooms are nicely furnished, have comfortable beds and have numerous fans in the room, for those warmer days or if you just like the feel of a light breeze while you sleep. The breakfast room is quite big and comfortable. The breakfast was yummy and changed daily... When the eggs get low on the breakfast bar they get a little cold. They usually bring more right out, however you can zap them in the microwave in the breakfast room . Which I did after I added a little cheese and salsa to them ;0) the employees are all very nice and informative.. the ONLY con I have, is the cleanliness of the bathroom....... Was not pleasant at all.. I'll leave it at that.. We just ran to the store which was not far at all.. Bought some Clorox cleaning and sanitizing wipes and some shower spray with bleach and wiped down absolutely EVERYTHING in the bathroom.. I'm not sure how long it had been since that had been done . I will mention the amount of urine and hair around the bottom of the toilet, as well as hair of all different types that was on the bathroom floor as well as beard trimmings or something on the floor and counter ( which you could not see on the counter because it was a dark counter) but could feel and see after you put a hand towel down.. Was pretty disgusting, which lead us to believe it had been a very long time... So we took care of it all ourselves. Did not have house keeping come in the room the whole week we were there. Then I cleaned the bathroom for the next people and left the cleaning supplies in the bathroom for housekeeping ... Hoping they would use them ... The housekeepers were all very nice though ;0) we will definitely stay again, however we will just hit the store on the way in from the airport next time instead of having to go back out after arrival .. Oh There is a fridge in the room with a small freezer, but no microwave; which would be really nice even if it was just a tiny one ;0) All in all, the view and the outside amenities overrides any cons that may come up!

"Lovely setting, good location"
MountaingirlOhio, 14 Septembre 2016

We chose this location, right off the Parks Highway, on our way to Denali. Set on Lake Lucille in Wasilla, this Best Western was clean and relaxing. The deck overlooking the lake, just a few steps from our room, was a great place to sit and enjoy the view in the evening. The young lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful, giving us directions to the grocery up the road so that we could stock up on food to take to Denali. The morning breakfast, including eggs and biscuits and gravy, as well as fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, and cereal, was served in a large room with windows overlooking the lake.

"Vacation and family visit"
Jerald R, 11 Septembre 2016

I felt the hotel was a little over priced however this is a vacation area and we were still in the season. The rooms were very clean and the service staff was helpful. I was surprised there was not lunch or dinner service. The accommodations were very good but there are few accommodations in this area.

"what a way to wake up"
Todd B, 10 Septembre 2016

An amazing location, The lake is so beautiful. Rooms are as close to perfect as possible. Waking up to the mist rising off the lake was spectacular. Easy access to shopping. I wanted to steal the bed but they would have noticed.

"Beautiful Setting"
jad37, 07 Septembre 2016

This hotel is on a large lake with a large grass area between it and the lake. They have bird feeders in the area attracting a number of small birds. My wife was greeted by 7 ducks when she opened the deck door. They were moochers. A great beautiful place to stay

"No view from room. Disappointing. "
BillnDC, 06 Septembre 2016

Be careful booking from websites. Thought we had a view of the lake, but we did not, even though it was booked six months in advance. It is on Lake Lucille and there was a view from the deck. Nice place, though.

"Comfortable rooms with nice grounds and views."
Doug124, 06 Septembre 2016

We stayed at Best Western, Lake Lucille for one night on our way from Anchorage to Denali. The common areas are nicely furnished and have some interesting specimens of local wildlife. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable queen-sized bed and a sitting area. The room and bathroom were very clean. We could not figure out the climate controls either. We ended up cooling down the room by opening the our window and then using the fans provided in the room. I suspect the rooms don't have AC and you probably don't need it most of the time in Alaska. The grounds are very well kept and have great mountain views across the lake. The breakfast selections were good but a large tour group had vacuumed up all the coffee just before we sat down. This hotel is a very good value compared to hotel rates in Anchorage and well worth the one-hour drive to Wasilla.

"Outstanding "
AllStarMP, 06 Septembre 2016

Breath taking views of the lake when you book a lakeside room (with balcony). Check in was fast and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast was amazing and has great views of the lake. Wifi was fast and reliable. Great location in town. Highly recommend!

"Wasilla, AK"
Cierra G, 26 Août 2016

Overall Great experience with this hotel. Decent price for quality. Good breakfast options, they call it a continental breakfast but in reality it was a small buffet with hot and cold items, plus the normal pastries, toast, and coffee.

"Our best so far in Alaska"
Paul K, 24 Août 2016

Beautiful grounds, lake with dock, Mountain scenery. Room was nice. Couldn't figure out a/c. So a bit warmer then we like. Nice open seating with great views for a typical buffet. We only had 1 day, but loved it. We didn't take advantage of the fitness center. On our way from Coopers landing toward Denali.

"good for rest"
yp c, 22 Août 2016

reception is good and room was clean and water was good quality too. breakfast was normal and overall this hotel is good for rest.we planned to stay one night but extended 3 night. strong recommend kwon tae sik

"The nicest Best Western I've ever been in"
FloridaLawyerchick, 21 Août 2016

I don't usually stay in Best Western's but I stayed here as part of a cycling trip. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean and seemed almost new, and the hotel staff super friendly. The stay there was fabulous. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were exceptionally clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

"Comfortable"
Briana R, 15 Août 2016

Wonderful desk clerk. So friendly. Only issue...HUGE lake-like puddle in parking lot due to excessive rain. Had to park quite a way from front door and when you are carrying large bags, can be a real pain. Honestly, that was the only complaint. Breakfast was great and I always love to sit in the lounge because the view is stunning. I try to stay here each time I am in Wasilla.

"Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, Wasilla, Alaska"
Joanne C, 14 Août 2016

The hotel was like new, clean, and comfortable. Wish there was A/C, without it a bit stuffy sleeping. Breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel. Lake view was very nice and grounds very well groomed and great for strolling along the lake. I would recommend this hotel.

"Without rain it must be just wonderful "
NRWandGlobe, 13 Août 2016

Our stay here was just fantastic. Very spacious, clean room. The bed is more than comfortable. The breakfast has everything to offer. And the view to the Lake and Mountains is fabulous. If only the sun would have been out. But that's not their mistake! We'll be back, definitely.

"Great on a sunny day"
John B, 13 Août 2016

The hotel has a great room for breakfast yet it is not used for evening meals. This seems a shame as the waterfront location and deck area should be a draw to guests. Even more so as there are few decent restaurants about AND none close by. When we first arrived I asked if there were any restaurants nearby. I was surprised that the front desk was unable to offer ANY suggestions. Many hotels I stay at have a list of restaurants (often split by type) and a map or similar. This might be useful to guests in future. Although I can recommend Evangalo's for food a few miles South/East on route 3. The parking lot was very waterlogged whilst we were there. The ducks seemed to like it and it was great to drive through and clean the car. However, it does restrict the number of cars that can park. The style of the outside and public areas is a bit like a hunting lodge. The reception area has a huge stuffed bear in "anger pose" and there are a few other animals in the fire place lounge (although I never saw the fire lit). I'd stay here again if in the area.

"Beautiful view"
Wendell and Pat W, 13 Août 2016

Good nice facility. Rooms spacious, large enough for a roll away in a 2 queen bed room without being tight.Beds/linens good, towels a little aged. Even numbered rooms have the lake view past a large manicured lawn area, view of float planes landing and taking off. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful room, also overlooking the lake and grounds.

"stay elsewhere - run like it is in receivership"
merionvw, 13 Août 2016

This hotel should be removed from the best western group. it is like a 2 star hotel. it is being run like it is in receivership about to go bust - everything falling apart and not being repaired. It is the "before" in detergent ads where the towel is gray and nasty before it becomes fluffy and white after washing! CONS Most importantly the phones do not work!!! Given that we had to rearrange our flights and also book trips this was really really dreadful. They gave us their own mobile to make the call but then sat over us needing it back! I asked how long it had been like this and receptionist said "a while" while evading eye contact. Pushed further she said a few days but I suspect much much longer. Threadbare towels which are grey. No air conditioning so the rooms swelter particularly on the car park side. Everyone was complaining of the heat. The balcony has no chairs to enjoy it. The balcony mossie screen door did not shut properly! On two nights the water supply stopped just before dinner for a few hours. Bathrooms are really outdated and the sink stopper did not work and let the water drain away. the sink is really small. The sheets were creased and unironed (clean?) and didn't smell nice. the lighting in the room and bathroom was really dim adding to the dingy air. No onsite restaurant - despite the road sign that says there is. The receptionists apologised for none of this - not even the phones not working. PROS good breakfast stunning views and quiet location away from town centre(need car). Really well kept ground - which is ironic given the state of the rooms. DO NOT STAY HERE - there are better option sin town for eating highly recv Chepos mexican and Evangelos - both need car

"Excellent view and Breakfast"
818fredak, 12 Août 2016

The Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, Wasilla, Ak was an excellent value. The deluxe (free) breakfast offered a lot of variety and was quite tasty. The view of the lake from the dining room was beautiful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were quite sad that we had not planned to stay there an extra day/night to enjoy this beautiful setting. The only word of caution for elderly travelers is that there is no elevator so ask about availability of a room on the first floor.

"Best Western Lake Lucille Inn"
Lianne S, 08 Août 2016

Nice, quiet, charming facility conveniently located with spectacular views of Lake Lucille. Warm and welcoming staff. Rooms are standard size and the queen size bed felt more like a full size but still comfortable.

"Noisy -not BW Quality"
NV49er, 06 Août 2016

No insulation. Heard person above me get up at 4am and heard every foot step he took until leaving including shower. Listening to loud shower noise now from adjacent room. View of parking lot. Bad nite sleep and expensive. Corporate should pull Best Western name as this is not even a 2 star motel.

"Family Vacation"
Marion W, 05 Août 2016

Our view was wonderful from our balcony! The service and staff were great and the food was your usual breakfast. The only thing lacking from this hotel is that it didn't have AC or an elevator! We would return to this hotel when staying in the Wasilla area even though we didn't see Sarah Palin while we were there.

"Weekend Wedding"
Maarten W, 02 Août 2016

I was very impressed with the hotel even though it was built over 30 years ago it was very up to date. Very nice setting next to the lake. Excellent staff, very courteous no matter time of the day or night. Would recommend considering staying there again.

"Nice"
Susan M, 31 Juillet 2016

We had planned to stay in Palmer but no place there looked safe or clean enough, so we stayed in Wasilla. Clean room overlooking a lake was relaxing. The breakfast was decent though the area seemed like it could be tidied up more thoroughly and more often. Food choices were good the day we were there.

"Beautiful setting, a little north of Anchorage"
BillandWendy35, 30 Juillet 2016

What a great place to stay! Price is just a little lower than the Anchorage hotels, but within an hour of the airport and a bit closer to Denali as you drive north. Wasilla is a beautiful town in the Matanuska valley surrounded by mountains, with a number of lakes. The hotel's setting on Lake Lucille is beautiful, as are the rooms!

"Beautiful Views!"
Sheila W, 25 Juillet 2016

Although this property is older, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The views from the lakeside rooms are wonderful and the grounds are well-kept and beautiful. The staff here is very friendly and helpful.

"Lake Lucille"
petitesandra, 23 Juillet 2016

The hotel has a great view from the dining room. Breakfast is free and good. Conveniently located close to Parks Hwy and stores about 5 minutes away or more depending on which store you need. There should a small ice cream shop on Parkway called The Little Miller's. Great shakes and ice creams in a variety of delicious flavors. Try the green apple shake. Tried the Tuscana Pizzeria of Knik Goose dr. Fabulous Hawaiian puzza. Lots of real mozarella and pineapple, yum. There are several starbucks, one inside the Fred Meyers store. There should a Lowe so, Target, Walmart, home depot, etc. Post office located on main St and the Doris Page Museum and history of the Iditarod dog race. New Valley Cinema. Hotel clean, breakfast great, employees friendly. No pool though.

"Beautiful Lake Setting"
jeremiahred, 23 Juillet 2016

This hotel has two floors and no elevators. If you happen to stay here when it is warm outside, you may be warm inside, too: no air conditioning. The balcony rooms face the lake, a beautiful setting, but there are no tables or chairs on them. There used to be a restaurant and lounge here, but no more. They are either under renovation or closed for good. We didn't get a clear answer on that. The location is perfect for dinner and drinks overlooking the lake. Someone should re-open them. We could tell the hotel has had a lot of renovation recently. Our room (1227) was a suite and was very nice, with the exception of the couch in the living room that needs to be replaced. It sagged so much that it was impossible to sit on. The bed was comfortable. The TV is difficult to figure out. Push the power button on the TV first, then experiment. The recent renovations and lake view pushed my rating up to a four.

"Lovely setting, basic hotel"
robert-not-home, 16 Juillet 2016

It's a Best Western so wasn't expecting too much - but it was fine. Will say the setting is absolutely lovely. Felt a little trampled under foot but essentially clean with adequately comfortable beds. There were at least 2 washers / dryers for laundry on the second floor (abuts room 1200) but the noise seemed to be minimal. The breakfast was basic had had the typical high sugar, high fat, his sodium options like sausage, muffins etc. There was yogurt and some cereal so if you want to try and eat responsibly there are some options. There is WiFi but it was basically unusable as either it was overloaded or just massively under provisioned.

"Stay at Lake Lucille"
Richard P, 10 Juillet 2016

The location of this Best Western Lake Lucille Inn is fantastic. It is set on a point that extends out into Lake Lucille. The view from the deck of our lakeside room gives the guest a beautiful 180 degree view of the lake and the mountains in the background. The expansive grounds were very well maintained and pleasant place for an evening walk by the lakeshore. The room itself was clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this Best Western location to anyone visiting the area.

"Pleasant surprise"
idontemail, 06 Juillet 2016

Loved this hotel. Views were amazing, rooms were comfortable, clean. Breakfast was very good. Best Western has really come up and improved their product. This is the second time this year we stayed at a Best Western and were extremely impressed (other was in Waltham, MA).

"Dirty Bed"
stacy7297, 03 Juillet 2016

The outlets near the bed and the lamp didn't work. When I turned my pillow over it had a orange handprint of Cheetos on it they were in our sheets also. They never changed the sheets from the last person. I looked in the other rooms while they were cleaning them they never changed any of their sheets just made the bed.

"Very impressed! "
Christy C, 27 Juin 2016

This was by far our best stay in Alaska. The view from our room was gorgeous. The room was very clean. The sheets were super soft and we had everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was great with a stunning view of the water and mountains. I highly recommend this place!

"Waste of Money"
Riotrioadventures, 24 Juin 2016

Stayed 1 night 10 June 2016. We paid the most per night for this hotel room out of all our rooms over a 1 month stay in the USA and Canada and we were very disappointed. The hotel is archaic and needs desperately to be bought into the 21st century for modern travellers. Yes the beds were comfy and the view from the room was lovely, but there were no modern amenities. WIFI was out in the rooms and lobby and we were told it was our problem as it was our device. As our device worked fine for the previous month at every other location and I manage WIFI for a 420 bed accommodation complex myself, I knew this was rubbish. She tried to give me a 1800 number to fix it myself. I find this terrible customer service that the guests have to waste their precious vacation time to fix the Hotel WIFI. Only after an assertive discussion with the reception lady did she finally admit that the Hotel was having trouble with internet and were looking to change their ISP provider. Be up front with your guests and stop wasting their time. There are also no lifts - which means lugging your bags up stairs. How can a multi million dollar complex be so budget that they cannot spend a few thousand dollars extra and put in a lift for the comfort of their guests. No airconditioning - there was a unit in the room - but we couldn't work out how to get it to work. And where told by reception - no the Hotel does not have airconditioning. Obviously this was an old unit that had been disconnected, but not removed. For a comfortable night we had to leave our balcony door open all night. Not the ideal! Rooms are not set up with charging stations for the modern traveller. You will be lucky to find a plug near the floor to do any charging. Again not ideal! We stayed in many Best Westerns over our months vacation in the USA & Canada and I would not recommend this hotel for travellers.

"Alaska in 7"
bootraveler42, 22 Juin 2016

Our stay was for 3 nights at this hotel. We would stay there again. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was great, several things to choose from, the area was kept clean and never ran out of food. The view of the lake with the mountains from this hotel is beautiful. There is a dock you can walk to, we saw beavers swimming around dragging things back to build there damn.

"Short Stay"
Frank D, 19 Juin 2016

This BW is located on a lake with a very nice view. It is off the main road with a single sign to show you the way. The room was spacious and satisfactory. The beds were comfortable enough for sleep. The pillows were only fair. It was more than adequate for our one-night stay. The breakfast was adequate except for the chocolate chip pancakes. The only problem that I had was with the TV. Based on the price that we paid for the room, we received an excellent value.

"Exceptional Place"
joyr139, 18 Juin 2016

Beautiful grounds and hotel. Exceptional breakfast and exceptional service. Ducks with their baby ducks were coming by our balcony all the time. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful place!!! I am including a photo I made from the balcony. Very nice.

"Great Location - Friendly Staff"
Ann Q, 17 Juin 2016

Best Western Lake Lucille is located right on the lake. The day we arrived, the sun was sparkling on the lake and it was great just to relax on the balcony overlooking the water. Our room was clean and breakfast was included. The staff was friendly and helpful.

"Very Relaxing"
BillnJan83705, 15 Juin 2016

Great beautiful facility. Excellent friendly helpful staff. If reserving go the extra for a lake view room. Night and Day difference. Breakfast was superior to most hotel complimentary breakfast. Freshly prepared. Staff really cares.

"Facelift in progress at older facility"
KKFW, 15 Juin 2016

The gorgeous, lakeside location of this BW offsets the room-by-room renovation in progress. Our room was completely up to date. What had been a full-service dining room now only serves the breakfast buffet included in the room charge. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. "Free in-room WiFi" was not available in our room. Problem reported but not corrected. Very frustrating.

"A nice Hotel located on a beautiful lake!"
Tom C, 09 Juin 2016

My wife & I stayed the night on the way to Denali. The hotel is very clean, and you can relax on their back deck which overlooks Lake Lucille. The rooms are nice and the rates are very reasonable. The front desk recommended an "upscale" restaurant "Settler's Bay" which was fantastic!

"Alaska Roadtrip"
Thomas S, 09 Juin 2016

For our family, this hotel's location worked great. Short distance to Anchorage, easy drives to Tulkeetna, Denali, Matanuska Glacier. There's a Target nearby for quick water and snack trips. Enough good value dining options. When we stayed in late May, the rate was very good, the trade off was the AC was still OFF. It was nice temperature outside but the temperature in the room got a little uncomfortable when trying to sleep. The breakfast selection was very good also again, for the rate we paid. The view from the breakfast room is an added bonus specially if you can catch the sun setting. Overall, I recommend this property! Good location, service and great value.

"Beautiful Setting but Internet has Issues..."
LSJ6, 02 Juin 2016

We stayed at the Best Western in Wasilla again this year. The views of mountains and Lake Lucille are great. Overall we like this hotel; It has all the usual BW amenities. The exception is no individual microwaves in the rooms. The staff is good, Breakfast is standard with in a beautiful setting. Rooms have little refrigerators and coffee makers. There is a single microwave for all the guests to share. The main problem at this hotel continues to be the Internet. Sometimes it is impossible to access internet. Other times, your PC will say it is connected, but you can't do anything. The staff says they are trying to get another carrier, but right now it is frustrating. The staff tries hard to fix things, but sometimes it is waste of time. This was a big issue since sprint does not have towers in Alaska and we had limited internet on our cell phones. Tips Parts of the parking lot flood when it rains so park closer to hotel. Remember there is no elevator so request first floor lake view rooms if that's important to you. This hotel's beautiful setting makes up for its otherwise minor flaws. The lack of reliable internet needs to be addressed.

"Very nice"
Lydia O, 02 Juin 2016

Everyone at this hotel cared about my stay. Very professional and polite. The breakfast is great. They have a variety of foods each day. The housekeeping staff do a great job keeping the room cleaned daily. Maintenance staff have the place in tip top shape and the front desk staff have you checked in and out quickly. The views are amazing and it is a great place to stay.

"Late at night and needed a place to stay"
dianalg2016, 02 Juin 2016

The hotel is clean and the staff is great. The bed was comfortable and the hotel provides a list of restaurants that will deliver. After a long day of packing, I needed a quiet place to stay. Booking through Travelocity gave me a great deal on the room.

"Room with a view"
Kathleen T, 29 Mai 2016

I loved the view from my hotel room. There was the lake and we could see the mountain range. We had a balcony in our room to enjoy the night/morning. The breakfast room had windows surrounding the entire room which provided excellent viewing of both. It was quite enjoyable having breakfast with my daughter while we enjoyed the view and discussed our day ahead of us. Thank you!

"Bestest Western, Wasilla"
Larry J, 25 Mai 2016

Enjoyed my stay. Employees were polite and helpful. Bed was comfortable. My only compliant would be the lack of an elevator to bring your suit cases up to the second floor. I had a sore knee and it was hard getting the suitcases up the stairs. Need to have ice machine on the second floor.

"Amazing location and stunning landscape view! Rooms are great!"
belovedpetra, 20 Mai 2016

Great staff that are friendly, rooms are nice, neat and clean! The atmosphere is sweet and the breakfast was wonderful. Like amazing breakfast! We've stayed here about 2 or 3 times and enjoyed each one! This was a fabulous place and for what you got, it was worth the price!

"Best Stay During My Alaska Trip"
bcmitchell35, 19 Mai 2016

I'm a Best Western Rewards member, so I tend to gravitate toward them when I travel. On this particular trip, I stayed in 4 different Best Western's during my week in Alaska and this property was my favorite. The location is very convenient. It's located right off of the Parks Highway near plenty of restaurants and gas stations. The view from the back of the hotel of Lake Lucille is beautiful. I honestly didn't expect the views to be as good as they were based on the pictures. Our room had been recently renovated and had nice, clean carpets and bedding. The beds were comfortable. All staff members that I encountered were helpful and friendly. The free breakfast was tremendous. One of the best I've had at any Best Western ever. They had eggs, meat, potatoes, pancakes, fruit, all kinds of pastries, plus the rest of the usual fare. They use glass plates instead of paper, and I felt like I was eating at a restaurant. The breakfast room overlooks the beautiful lake as well which added to the experience. There is a fitness center in the basement with a sauna that has plenty of modern equipment. The building itself is well-maintained. It is definitely an older property but they have clearly taken the time and put forth the effort to keep it in good shape. There is plenty of parking available as well. The only negatives that I can even think of are 1) the wi-fi was down for most of the first night and 2) I've never seen a shower head as high as this one was. I'm 6'2" and it was still up there. My mom (5'1") would have no chance of adjusting it whatsoever. Both of these are very minor "complaints," but I always try to review a place as thoroughly as I can. I absolutely would/will return to this property for any future trips to Alaska and definitely recommend a stay at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn.

"More than I expected-pictures don't do it justice!"
David G C, 17 Mai 2016

This Hotel is on a beautiful site! It sits on beautiful Lake Lucille. This ain't no puddle. You open your blinds to an absolutely stunning view every morning. I could LIVE in this Hotel!! Staff was very friendly. NOT a continental breakfast by any measure...breakfast comparable to that "other chain" at twice the price. You will love your stay here. I wasn't paid or compensated for this evaluation...I mean every word. My kids live up here and this will be my go to place whenever I visit. The only drawbacks I experienced were the internet was spotty (they were aware and were trying to fix it) and the bed was kind of hard, but this is me nit picking.

"Gorgeous lakeside views"
Terri B, 10 Mai 2016

Wonderful breakfast, with stunning views as you eat. The lake and mountains in the distance gives a peaceful feeling while you eat breakfast. Plan to stay again when I visit family in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful.

"most excellant awesome view great breakfast"

Was there for 2 nights and was super pleased ...awesome staff tried there best to fix a problem with tv but could not...it was ok cuz I was exhausted and fell asleep right away without a tv....awesome and you should see the view of the lake and mountians...wow

"A nice Hotel but......."
BFLA, 04 Mai 2016

On April 30th my wife and I stayed at the Best Western at Wasilla. We had a very long day (flying up from Orlando Florida) and just wanted to get some rest. Our first impression was very nice. The hotel was located back from the main road and located right next to the lake. We checked in fine and was told our room was ready. It was located on the 2nd floor facing the lake. During the process of taking the luggage to the room we found out there was no elevator. Once we got to the room we relaxed and wanted to watch a little bit of TV and found out the TV was broken. We told the font desk and they sent a maintenance man. A very nice guy. He told us that the TV was broken and could not be fixed. You could tell he was a little bit frustrated. He left and I called the front desk asking for another room. I was told that the hotel was sold out and they would compensate us by reducing our bill. The maintenance man came back and hooked up another tv but told us we had to go thru a process of pushing the right buttons on the controller to get the tv to work. We gave up on the tv. The breakfast was good and was included in the room rate. My wife and I sat next to a window looking out at the lake. Very peaceful. During the checkout process I told the font desk about the TV set and was looking for a discount (like was promised). There was no discount all we got was 'sorry to hear that'. I would stay again there but Best Western Wasilla needs to help the poor maintenance man with buying parts to do his job and to please the customer.

"Wasilla Best Western"
Thelma H, 21 Avril 2016

We live 365 miles from wasilla, so when we come to visit family we stay at the B.W.. This particular hotel has not changed decor, or upgraded much of anything. It's still a nice place to stay but it sure needs upgraded.

"poor internet connection"
Angela M, 18 Avril 2016

When we called the front desk we were given a 1-800 number to call to fix the connection. The location was great for my son's tournament however I would have liked if they had more activities for kids with being right next to the lake and all.

"Great View!"
zarinafied, 14 Avril 2016

Stayed there as a family of 3. The view was incredible and the outdoor deck that goes around the back of the building overlooking the water and mountains is fantastic. The service at the front desk was great. Unfortunately the breakfast was dismal at best and the workout facility left a lot to be desired. But if you're looking for nice decor and a great view from your room, then this is a wonderful place!

"Nice location but frustrating, and no WIFI as advertised"
G A, 11 Avril 2016

This motel needs some competition. They have a nice location on the lake, BUT I sure get frustrated with them. They advertise free wifi; well, yes they have wifi, and I got connected to it, but that's where it stopped. Every link I tried to open timed out. All evening, and again at 6 AM the next morning. This is the same thing that happened when we stayed there about a year ago. Best Western should be ashamed for advertising wifi when they don't actually supply it. I asked at the desk about the wifi and basically got "I don't know" for an answer. Otherwise, I was not happy with getting stuck with the noisiest room in the whole place: next to the stairs and across from the ice machine and the laundry, which did not have a door on it. And people were washing clothes in the middle of the night! I reserved this room 4 weeks ahead of time, during the off-season, so I would think they could have put us in a quieter spot. They need some competition; for $90 plus tax I expect more, even in Wasilla.

"Excellent! Beautiful Views!"
crystalg237, 06 Avril 2016

This is an excellent hotel, beautiful lake and mountain views. It is pet friendly, which was a plus for our family! Breakfast was delicious and the views from the huge windows while eating breakfast were breathtaking. We even saw a Bald Eagle flying over the lake! I love that our room had a private balcony that overlooked the grounds and lake, it was so peaceful and gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are not enough good things I can say about this hotel We will definitely be booking our rooms here next time we have to travel to Wasilla and I have already recommended this hotel to all my friends and family! The bathroom door in our room did not close all the way, that is the only "bad" thing I experienced, but it was no problem. Overall, this trip was wonderful and we LOVE the hotel.

"Visit Alaska"
David S, 06 Avril 2016

This Best Western in the best hotel in Palmer Alaska. You will have a great view of the mountains from your hotel room. The staff is friendly and helpful. Can't want to return! Alaska is beautiful and I recommend to all of my friends to visit Alaska and to stay at the Best Western.

"Great location, frustrating experience."
Josiah M, 29 Mars 2016

Beautiful location, nice hotel, has a small dock on the lake with benches and tables outside! Had a sour experience with getting double billed for a single stay... then taking a week to get the funds back into my account. Front desk employee Holly did not handle the situation very well. Would stay again.. but would be sure to have extra funds in case you're double billed!

"Cozy and Comfortable"
Kirsten B, 25 Mars 2016

The Best Western Lake Lucille is situated back away from the road next to a beautiful lake. The breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent, with delicious quiche and French toast with berries and whipped cream. The other morning it wasn't as elaborate, with scrambled eggs and various pastries. The rooms were very clean and neat. The only problem was the voices in the next room could be heard through the walls.

"Eh"
Aj E, 24 Mars 2016

An ok Hotel. Built quite a while ago and not updated. Decent stay for a couple of nights while passing through. We have the jacuzzi suite, it's alright. Nothing spectacular. But for the price I can't complain. There are better choices though.

"Room Nice; Staff Cold"
chris0241, 20 Mars 2016

Checked in to this hotel to break a long 12 hour journey up. The location is beautiful, on the edge of a large lake (frozen when we visited) with the breakfast room overlooking it. Upon check in I asked about the possibility of getting a lake view room but I was told this wasn't possible. The receptionist was cold compared to the other places we've been who have chatted and shown an interest in us. We were given the choice of 1st floor or ground floor. There's no lift so we chose ground floor! So we checked into our room overlooking the parking lot. It was a long walk from reception. If they gave us a choice of floors I don't quite understand whey they couldn't give us a choice of front (parking lot) or back (lake view). There was free parking outside. Breakfast was a buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage and hash brown. I asked the waitress what meat the sausage was (I only eat pork) and she kept saying 'I don't know' until I made it VERY obvious that I'd appreciate her finding out. Lack of service and initiative! Breakfast was good with lovely view of the lake.

"Fraud in Wasilla?"
Synpdx, 15 Mars 2016

I arrived 10:45 at night. The desk clerk couldn't find my reservation. I pulled it up on my email with the confirmation #. Liz said she needed to check. After about 10 minutes she returned to tell me there had been an "accidental" overbooking and no room was available. I thought she couldn't be serious. She was. I left the hotel at 11 o'clock at night to find another hotel with my worthless Best Western confirmation email in hand. Oddly, I noticed later they have this cancellation policy. "Cancellation Policy: Cancel before 4PM hotel time on March 10, 2016 to avoid a charge" That was two days before my arrival. So, they can charge the customer if they don't show up, but do not need to guarantee a room if they do show up or provide any compensation if a room has been "accidentally" overbooked. I'm sure there is some legalese that gets them around this being fraud, but that's the way I'll always remember this experience. As I was driving away all I could think of was the Seinfeld episode where he has a reservation with a car rental agency but they didn't have a car for him. He tells them they "can make reservations, they just can't hold reservations!" Being caught in a similar real life situation isn't much fun in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I didn't have a tired family with me. Unfortunately, this is Wasilla. There are no Starwood, Hilton or Marriott properties. Best Western is a bush league brand and out here there are few alternatives. The Grandview down the highway was a serviceable substitute.

"Beautiful Lucile Lake Best Western Hotel"
Robert S, 02 Mars 2016

This is Robert 'Vegas Bob' Swetz aka Alaska Bob and I have been staying at the Best Western Hotel on Lucile Lake now for 2 years. The BW on Lucile Lake is by far one of my favorite places to stay in Alaska, Wasilla, Anchorage, etc. Lucile Lake is so beautiful and the rooms on the back side of the hotel facing the lake is wonderful. For anyone visiting Anchorage or Wasilla, book a night at the BW Hotel on Lucile Lake and it will be an experience of a life time ;o)

"One Night Stay"
Hombre11, 29 Février 2016

The hotel room was clean, the coffee pot did not work, there was an old bottle of shampoo left in the shower from the previous renter. Hockey tournament in town, so the hotel was pretty noisy with people coming and going all night long.

"Alaska Trip"
James D, 01 Février 2016

Disappointing check-in experience. Had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to show up at desk. Even called and no one answered. On the flip side, the desk staff the next morning at check-out was amazing and very gracious.

"Ok but not Amazing"
Gen T, 31 Janvier 2016

The room was really nice and the sheets were clean but I think they are pretty cheap. One stir packet 2 coffees, a really small shampoo conditioner combo. Also no microwave in the rooms. I had to go all the way down the hall to pop my pop corn in my PJ's with several other people waiting in line behind me.... it was a little annoying. Breakfast was amazing, the view is gorgeous, but I think they overcharge for how little they provide in the rooms.

"Best Western"
Jay H, 19 Janvier 2016

Great hotel - great value - have stayed at this venue several times and each time was very satisfied - recommend this hotel with out reservation great location great view - friendly and helpful staff - very accommodating - if in the Wasilla area over night would stay at this hotel and no other

"Clean & comfortable stay"
740buffyg, 08 Janvier 2016

We love the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn. We stay there several times a year and are never disappointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean. The beds & pillows are soft and comfortable.

"Stayed During Thanksgiving Holiday"
CalvinandKathy, 05 Janvier 2016

This is the best hotel to stay at in Wasilla, AK. Next time we will ask for a room overlooking the water as it is beautiful. They serve a great breakfast in a huge, beautiful dining room. This would be a great place to hold a fancy event. We will stay there again.

"In Wasilla, this is probably the only place to stay"
porterjames2, 30 Décembre 2015

We stayed here 3 nights in December. The room had a great heater which was very quiet when heating. The property is a little worn. The hallways are wide and well lit. The rooms are OK. They could stand a little updating. The cleaning was fine and housekeeping took care of our room daily. The toilet leaked and constantly refilled. The breakfast was fine, except on Christmas day, which was understandable. On the other days there was eggs, sausage, biscuits/potatoes, canned fruit, cereals, coffee, and breads/pastries. The vegan in our group didn't have to many options but was able to eat the cereals. The coffee was very good. Although there were four in our group we only had three bath towels in the room. We had to go to the front desk daily to ask for additional towels. The view and location is very desireable. The hotel offered free WIFI with no password required.

"Great stay for Christmas week"
Ray K, 24 Décembre 2015

Needed a hotel near Wasilla and wanted one with character; this is Alaska after all! Best Western Lake Lucille did not disappoint. Large, clean rooms with comfortable beds and baths. Good wifi. Excellent breakfast buffet, exceeded my expectations. The best thing about this hotel, in my opinion is the location on the lake. Even frozen solid the lake is spectacular. Got to see some ice fishermen during the day and pickup truck races at night. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

"Would stay again"
Robyn R, 21 Décembre 2015

Helpful staff answered our questions and worked with us when we needed a late checkout. Not fancy, but nicer than Motel 6. Lobby smelled good. Awesome breakfast! Gym was great with lots of option and a sauna.

"Great hotel"
Jay H, 11 Décembre 2015

Great accommodations would recommend it without hesitation. Have stayed at this hotel several times and have always been very satisfied with the service and accommodations. Great location and great views.

"Stayed During Thanksgiving Holiday"
CalvinandKathy, 30 Novembre 2015

Very nice hotel. No pool or elevator but only two levels. Small bathrooms--only room for one person at a time. Ask for a view of the lake and a balcony. Good breakfast with a huge dining room. Would stay again.

"Desparate for a Renovation"
Jeff H, 29 Novembre 2015

Front desk was new and struggled to check us in. Steady breeze through the patio door. Floor was very cold thankfully the heat worked. Worn out spring mattress. Very dim lights in the room. No breakfast, sign said stove was broken. This place is in need of a renovation, Best Western should remove its name. Be Smart and stay in Anchorage at a better hotel for much cheaper rates.

"Great Hotel"
pika_candid_reviews, 28 Octobre 2015

Very friendly check-in staff. The lady at the front desk cared about our room preference from the beginning. Our room was very spacious and clean with a balcony facing the lake. The room was clean. Very beautiful area outside the hotel on the shore of Lake Lucille. The breakfast was good. Enough tables for guests to enjoy breakfast overlooking Lake Lucille.

"Million dollar views with affordable rooms"
David R, 18 Octobre 2015

The Best Western at Lake Lucille in Wasilla Alaska was clean and well kept. When pulling into the parking lot, we could see two of the three beautiful mountain ranges that surround Palmer and Wasilla. The lake is beautiful and provides great fishing for the family. During the summer months there are float plane tours that offer views of bears and glaciers. The staff was excellent and professional. The rooms had enough space for a family of four to stretch their legs and the rooms facing the lake had balconies. I felt like my vehicle was secure in the well lit parking lot. There are woods that separate you from the main road so you have that secluded feeling and forget that you are right outside of the town of Wasilla. The internet was great and I had no issues using face time on WiFi and was able to continue my online courses for college while I stayed there. There are a number of restaurants in the area that deliver to your room. All in all this is a great place for a family to stay a night or a couple of nights. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it and we stayed a few nights in October during the off season.

"Good, but could be better"
BOATDirector, 17 Octobre 2015

this hotel has a lot of potential. great location, right on the lake with great views of the mountains. the staff is very positive and courteous, but some details need a little attention to make this a five star hotel. we had a business meeting there for two weeks, and the room we met in only got cleaned once. on one of the days, the breakfast person didn't show up, so the person manning the front desk had to to also prepare the food. and lastly, the sheets in my room never got changed over the two week period.

"Beautiful lake, great setting"
MaryAnn A, 16 Octobre 2015

This is a pet-friendly hotel, and traveling with a dog can be a challenge. This is a great setting for walking a dog. The lake is beautiful and the sunset was spectacular in October. We stayed during winter rates, so the room was priced reasonably, and although it was not a large room, there was plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The windows provided a great view of the lake. An added bonus was the breakfast, which contained hot eggs and french toast. We will stay here again on the way back to Fairbanks from Anchorage.

"DISAPPOINTING"
Yoshunda B, 15 Octobre 2015

I must say (staff not included in this assessment nor the breakfast), that this is my second visit to this hotel (and I do have reward points,,,so another reason I stayed) and I was very disappointed. My bed was not comfortable, there was a smell in the hall and rooms, the shower was small, and I am sad to say there is no pool here. There were dogs in the lobby area and there were some misses (as far as amenities) in the room. The price was not a fair price given the hotel is not up to standard. I liked this place but this go around, not so impressed. Although the scenery was breathtaking.....really disappointing stay. Sorry

"Nice hotel with an amazing view"
Jenny L, 03 Octobre 2015

The hotel is easy to locate just off of the main road. They views of Lake Lucille are simply stunning with a remarkable sunset. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hot breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The outside grounds are just really gorgeous. Overall a great place to stay in Wasilla, AK.

"Beautiful View, No So Great Room"
Carole M, 22 Septembre 2015

The lake view is absolutely beautiful, that is a given, but the very dated rooms definitely need a refurb. The heat - A/C unit that was on the wall did not work. The large portable standing unit would work, the stop, then work. The small unit on the night stand made so much noise you could not let it run. Being on the first floor, and with the lock on the screen door not working, we really did not want to leave the door open, so our room was very warm and stuffy. The staff were all very nice and the selection at breakfast was very good. The stuffed wildlife in the hotel is very interesting.

"Good location, average quality!"
Teletubbie95, 16 Septembre 2015

We stayed at this property since it was a convenient location to visit the Matanuska Glacier and Talkeetna. The hotel looks dated and need a makeover. The carpet and the room looks aged. The hotel does not have an elevator; so prepared to haul your suitcases if you get a room on the second floor. The breakfast buffet is included with the room price. But the food choices and quality is average. Most of the items looked store bought and the taste was bland. The room was pricey but we did not have too many choices. Overall just a place to spend a night and move on.

"All the comforts of home, with a great lake view"
RU4NJ, 16 Septembre 2015

A wonderful setting on Lake Lucille defines this comfortable hotel. The rooms are of normal size with all the accessories functioning properly including a fast Wi-Fi. The four of us occupying two rooms had a quiet restful sleep on very comfortable beds. The lobby was typical Alaska with a large stuffed bear and a moose head over the fireplace. The breakfast area was very large (obviously a former restaurant) with large windows overlooking Lake Lucille, just beautiful. The food served at breakfast, the only meal served there, had something for every taste, nothing over-the-top but more than enough to start you on your way. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed, however I did find the front desk unoccupied on one occasion. This location is a great option, other than Anchorage, for the drive from Anchorage to Denali; better value however much less dinning options.

"Beautiful Lake Location"
Englishmarm, 15 Septembre 2015

This is a typical motel for Alaska in terms of the price versus the lower 48, but it is not the typical city location. the lake setting is beautiful as well as the lobby. The breakfast is also complimentary like others in this chain.
