"As Expected"

TODDBRUNDAGE, Newport, Rhode Island 11/05/2022

This hotel's greatest asset for us was the bar/lounge as we arrived at 1pm and were forced to wait two hours before checking in. Apparently this is a strict policy or at least it was for us. It was our first time in this area so we didn't want to venture out too far. Front desk was less than caring, no rewards recognition, no ideas about where to go or what to do. Hotel was fantastic - front desk was bleh - rest of staff encounters were courteous and friendly.

"Last Minute Hotel Check In"

lbunting228, Boston, Massachusetts 10/05/2022

If you are looking for something decent at an affordable price then this would be a great place to start. This location is also conveniently 10 minutes away from all your travel needs (CVS, Walgreens, etc.)

"Good hotel but pool was way to cold"

mikeZ9025RX, Pompano Beach, Florida 05/05/2022

Clean hotel.... Good location Staff was friendly.... good breakfast with lots of options Went to use the pool and it was freezing cold so that was a bummer They have a nice gym and the restaurant attached to the hotel is good.... plenty of parking

"Little things missed here"

dylanr1, Littleton, New Hampshire 28/04/2022

Stayed here for a night and it served its purpose. Room was about $145 plus tax. Nice location and could really do more with some oversight. Lobby is nice and staff was nice. Hallway floor looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in some time. Guessing they just pick up the bigger things and skip the vacuum. Our room rug was similar. A simple walk hall around by management would have found a small orange peel, small paper, and other things that left just a bad first impression. Room was fair, a bit outdated with some worn areas around the bathroom and entry to the rooms. Room design was nice with good amenities. Pool was nice and deep at 8 feet, which is rare to find ...very nice. Exercise room was also very nice. Breakfast was a help yourself and had plenty to pick and make. Very nice man sitting in the breakfast area waiting for cleanup and restocking. Giving it 3 stars, as it was average and missed on the small extras that would've been easy to come thru on.

"Return Visit to a Really Good Hotel"

Gene P, Commack, New York 24/04/2022

Return visit to this hotel. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Check in was super easy and the gentleman behind the desk was friendly and easy to work with. Clean and comfortable throughout. Great hotel gym, maybe the best of any. Clean and spacious room, smaller bathroom but clean and stocked. Decent breakfast in the morning to get you going. Look forward to my next trip

"Never disappoints"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 16/04/2022

I have stayed at the Best Western in Waltham many times (at least a dozen) when I need to journey to the Waltham area for appointments. This stay was no different from previous ones. Check in is a breeze, and there is plenty of free parking. The staff as usual was friendly and professional. During this visit, management and staff such as Leah, Ruth, Emerson, and Annie ensured my stay was as great as it has been every other time at this hotel. The room was clean, well-stocked, and quiet. The hotel has a really nice restaurant inside the hotel, which was quite convenient the evening I arrived, because it was raining. The restaurant is the Copper House Tavern, and it has an eclectic and reasonably priced menu. There is also an equally nice dining room in the hotel which serves a great complimentary breakfast every morning. It is worthy of note that in very close proximity to the hotel are many sites and services that may be of need or interest to other folks that may have to travel to this area, such Mass General Brigham Hospital West, Costco, Interstate 95, and a filling station.

"Not clean yuck"

powellalexa1989, Lowell, Massachusetts 10/04/2022

First and last time ever going here, I went with my 14 an 2 year old to go swimming an the bathtub was beating gross an toilet clogged with every flush!!! No privacy when swimming everyone can see in the pool outside and in

"Okay for a quick trip"

didirags, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 10/04/2022

You get what you pay for!! Rooms were old and dirty and reeked of smoke. Pool was closed bring maintenance our whole stay, which was disappointing for my son. Housekeeping I felt with were very rude! The only positive was the free quick breakfast was very good and clean with a nice little variety!

"Exceptional service and value"

susan q, Boston, Massachusetts 27/02/2022

The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to address all our needs, including a later checkout, and assistance with direction to Mass General Hospital when I was receiving two days of medical treatments. The restaurant had a great menu with lots of variety, and plenty of healthy choices. We ate dinner there twice, and were wowed by our meals and the attentive, exceptional service.

"Horrible dusty dirty and grimey hotel"

youngty5851, Boston, Massachusetts 16/01/2022

The worst ever 1 star hotel everything dusty dirty and grimey the room are not clean like they should hair in tub stains all over sheets and bed heat pull out of the wall in the middle of winter noises like a fan running on and off in the wall all night the worst experience ever would never suggest anyone to stay here not sanitize in the middle of covid..

"Just Okay"

User 12/01/2022

I stayed at this Best Western for a night and I'm glad that was it. The restroom was not cleaned well because it still had hair in the shower. The paint was also peeling off the ceiling and had mold spots from water damage everywhere. The heater in the room also made a really loud clicking noise making it so you couldn't fall asleep with it on which was really unfortunate since it was below 30 out and the room couldn't have been more than 60 degrees so I was freezing. I will say the staff was very nice though and check in and check out was a breeze.

"Tired Looking"

User 07/11/2021

The outside and lobby look renovated, but the rooms are very dated and tired looking. Rooms have older carpeting, dim lighting And the rooms have very thin walls. The staff was helpful. Overall, I expected more.

"Check the House Keeping Policy"

mainstreetservices, Aiea, Hawaii 04/11/2021

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this BW+, and were a little disappointed at what we thought was a solid hotel. Of Course this is COVID, but basic levels of service must be maintained or elevated to adjust for safety protocol changes. Having a policy to not service rooms because of COVID is understandable, then support the policy by boosting logistic support to your guest without them having to constantly calling to have bathing supplies, towels, and room servicing needed. Having all amenities in good working order. We requested room house keeping service a couple of times, but did receive them. We were out all day and did not return until late evening and I guess our request did not make it to the day time manager. When we request during the day we were given a very "New England" no nonsense style informational briefing on what the COVID policy was. We made another service request. House keeping never made it. We also reported that the room phone was not functioning. Although I do have to say when we need stuff brought up it was PDQ, Soap and Towels anyway.

"Multiple Staff LIED to us about HANDICAP accessible room"

User 26/10/2021

We requested a handicap- accessible room as I am disabled. Followed up with Johnny the day before check-in who noted our request. Upon getting to room, no handicap access. Night clerk said they could switch us in the morning. Next morning, the morning clerk said it would take awhile as they were getting the room cleaned. Returned late afternoon thinking that was plenty of time to clean and the next clerk said they didn't have any available and couldn't switch us. It was a very busy weekend in Boston, and no other hotels were available by then (under $350/night). So we were stuck there. A HANDICAPPED ROOM request is not because it's a fun idea- handicapped people need them TO GO TO THE BATHROOM and bathe. If BE Waltham didn't have any available, they should have said so, all three times. At least I would have known to look elsewhere sooner, not the day/ night of. A plea to those of you who might request them because you like the spacious showers, etc, but don't need them- please leave them for those like us who need them...thank you!

"Railroad work in Boston"

User 25/10/2021

Stayed here with my Friends/ co-workers while we were in town performing some emergency crane rail repairs. Most days were 12-14hrs long. The hotel bar was nice to be able to get a quick bite to eat before heading to the room for a shower and sleep.

mitchellsoulliard, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania 27/09/2021

The hallways and rooms needed vacuuming and there was mold-like stuff in the bathroom. The staff was very apologetic and blamed it on postponed renovations and a lack of staffing. We were given a choice of other rooms. We selected one that was better, but it turned out the air conditioning unit made a lot of noise. The toilet seat was loose. The staff was apologetic and helpful. Everyone seemed to be trying, but what can they do.

"Trip to Boston"

markbH6572VJ, Phoenix, United States 26/09/2021

This hotel did not live up to the standard that we have enjoyed from staying at other Best Western Plus hotels. I would label this hotel as a standard Best Western. However, we did enjoy our stay. The rooms were clean and the service was great. Sam at the front desk and Pete in the restaurant were the best. They both deserve a raise.

"Room AC did not work !"

sbk2760, York 12/09/2021

Our room AC did not cool the room and the ventilation ducts were filthy. The breakfast menu was good. Check was efficient. Location was central to our needs. Parking was easy and secure. Room cleanliness was the issue. Not sure I would stay at this BW again.

stephan b, New York City, New York 22/08/2021

Not expensive. But a little musty. TV does not stream any movies. No bath tub. Rooms to not have sofa. These days no room service - we had to bring our trash bin down to the lobby to empty it. Free breakfast.

"completely terrible experience"

12345abc2021, West Palm Beach, Florida 20/08/2021

I stayed in this hotel in 2019, and the experience was amazing. I had no concerns about my current booking until I arrived and witnessed a very poor quality outside inside and amenities. It's something is not done about this hotel, I will never stay there again. I'm requesting a full refund based on the condition of this property.

"Great hotel!"

zenandchaos, South Park Township, Pennsylvania 12/08/2021

My friend and I chose this hotel for our New England road trip because of the affordable price and central location to all of the places we wanted to adventure to. The room was clean, the beds were firm but comfortable, the pillows were perfect for me as I don't like pillows that are too puffy. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The included continental breakfast was awesome and we enjoyed it the entire week of our stay. You could make your own breakfast sandwiches and pancakes, and there was an assortment of fresh fruit, chobani and yoplait yogurts, coffee and juice, six different cereals, and a handful of other miscellaneous items. The pool area was very nice and very clean but the pool was a little too cold for me liking, but the pool was kind of just a bonus for me and not an amenity I was seeking out for this trip. Parking was free which was awesome, I've stayed at hotels that charge $30 per day! Easy check in and even easier check out. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone coming to this area!

"Boston Trip Stay"

542stanleym, Ft. Edward 12/08/2021

We've stayed at this hotel several times when going to Boston. Restaurant attached as well. The morning breakfast provided are good. Easy to access and navigable to Boston. 35th Anniversary trip to Boston to celebrate, and do the Whale Watch. We enjoy the city and try to go when we can.

"Return Stay, Good Hotel, No Bibles"

Gene P, Commack, New York 29/07/2021

Stayed at this hotel in the past and liked it so was looking forward to returning to someplace familiar. The check in was easy and quick. Hotel is clean throughout. Room was very clean and comfortable. Used the gym which is awesome with the equipment they have there. Plenty of cardio items, and weights. Copper House Tavern that is part of the hotel is excellent. Big bar with plenty of room and the food and service is excellent. Good hot breakfast in the morning. Only complaint like all the other hotels now no longer have Bibles and i dont understand why for those of us that like them available.

wegetaround2332, Hyde Park, New York 10/07/2021

We understand that there's no maid service but what about CLEAN towels. Yup, it took an entire day to get blean towels. There is a NO SMOKING within x amount of feet of the building. There on the bench about 10 feet from the front door AND right in front of the sign, people smoking. Complained to the desk clerk who said "nothing we can do." Everytime we went in and out, it was like walking through a disgusting smelly smokey room. YUK! The front desk personnel especially Johnny was nasty and not helpful. He obviously doesn't belong working with the public. Management doesn't care as we left a message to have her call and never heard back from her. I spent 10 years in the hotel industry and would have been out of business if I treated customers the way Johnny treated us. Best Western should stop their association with this place. We wouldn't let our dogs stay there.

"Did Not Honor Offer"

GigiF613, Naples, Florida, United States 08/07/2021

I stayed at this hotel from May 3 through May 7 and had signed up for the offer of a $25 Best Western gift card for each night of stay. I have contacted Best Western 4 times and have only received their DO NOT REPLY email stating they will check on it. After 2 months, it appears they are not going to honor their commitment. They are still offering the gift cards, but if this is your enticement to stay there, don't bother. The hotel was adequate, although the sofa in the room was badly stained. The modified breakfast due to Covid is very poor, but I suspect it will be the norm for them now. I chose this hotel simply because of the attached indepentently run restaurant since I had no transportation during my stay. The TV service does not offer any premium channels nor movie rental.

"Value for money"

User 05/07/2021

The hotel was good, it provided Free Breakfast, Fitness, Pool (Not opened due to Covid-19), and restaurant. It is 25 mins from Boston, 9 mins from the train station and you can take Uber or bus from the hotel. The staff was okay, the breakfast bar waiter was really good exceptional, the lady on Saturday was horrible. The service was fair.

"Worst hotel and staff in the last 20 years of travel. DO NOT STAY HERE."

User 23/06/2021

I don't review much. In cases of poor or less-than-desired hotels, I tend to let things go. However, when a property is either wonderful or simply terrible and a rip-off, I feel that a review can/will be welcomed by the 'brand' (corporate) so that the issues can be addressed, or the review will act as a caution to travelers that spend hard-earned resources (and time). In this case, I am writing to warn potential customers and travelers. And I do not do this with pleasure - or lightly. Here is a PARTIAL list of issues: 1. Upon check in, 'Zaine' at the desk was really lovely. My room was not. I washed my hands upon arrival and the sink would not drain - pushing the drain plug to enable this, I found the drain was broken. I changed rooms. The second room smelled like vomit...strongly. The heater was at 83 degrees; they were obviously trying to dry a 'cleaned' carpet. I changed rooms. The third room: the sink had no COLD water at all. The control for that was not working - but I stayed there, because it was the lesser of the evils. The carpet was burned in dozens of places, as were the curtains. Paint was chipping in several places. The furnishings were ancient. The fridge did not needed to be defrosted. 2. My brother's room: the closet did not close. Burned carpets and filthy bath. 3. Elevator and walls/floors of entire hotel FILTHY. 4. Bartender at their restaurant was RUDE. Seemed to be too busy to really be friendly - and the bar was empty. 5. Desk person told us rooms had been recently renovated - we asked for two of those - she told us though, that she had NO IDEA which rooms! So why mention it? 6. My brother was charged twice. When he questioned this, the new desk person told him he'd have to take it up with the manager. He did so. Without response. The desk person LIED telling him that the manager had left for the day. But we'd seen him 20 minutes before! OH..sorry...maybe he's on property - I'll page him...with a promise we would hear back from him about the overage. We left phone numbers and were told we'd hear in 30 minutes. Never heard back in two days. 7. The free breakfast food (all except the packaged yogurt) was disgusting, although the staff member there (a man) was very kind. I have written to Best Western Corporate. I want a full refund. One does not pay hundreds of dollars for services that are not delivered, for a rude and lying staff, a filthy property and rooms that simply do This is theft. It is probable that you might see and 'automatic' response from a manager or the property in the normal reply below - I don't know. But it will likely be a placating and dishonest lie. DO NOT STAY HERE - there are five other hotels within eyesight - I've stayed in three of them and they are ALL better than this fleabag.

"Great Front Desk Staff Room Not Clean"

trrjar, Troy, New York 10/06/2021

The front desk staff were very pleasant during check in and check out. The room had a strong cigarette smell and wasn't very clean. The carpet in the room was so dirty that when I stepped into the shower the water turned black The bed was also very uncomfortable. Did not know before arriving that gym was closed.

"Clean and convenient"

Photobill7, Amherst, New Hampshire 25/05/2021

Covid restrictions have changed the amenities at this Hotel. It was very clean and safety precautions were in place. However, breakfast was limited, and the room had a very noisy air-handler, hot water was very slow to arrive, and clock radio was non-functioning. However, it was clean, good WiFi, and microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, was a plus.

"Worst western"

User 20/05/2021

Dirty rooms. Inexperienced help. We checked in to find long black hairs on a pillow, chewing gum stuck to the carpet, food and coins under the bed and remnants of a banner stuck to the wall. Overall the sheets were threadbare and the towels were frayed. The front desk girl did not know where the stairs were. The only good thing was the manager comped the room! Oh I forgot the coup de gras was housekeeping walked in on me unannounced while I was changing.

"Never Again!!"

User 24/04/2021

I don't know where these excellent reviews are coming from. The “Plus” is not what we experienced at all! I arrived and there was water damage in the bathroom, The enamel in the bathroom tub chipped so where I thought it was dirty, the carpets were dirty, there was a stain on the shower curtain, and water damage over a bed on the ceiling. Called to have my room changed and before they could, he asked “have you slept in the bed yet?” Which tells they had no intention on cleaning out the room. It's COVID, clean the room!!! So I had my room switched from water damaged bathroom to a mold infested room. The second room had a broken closet, cracked sink, another beat u tub, dirty desk and broken drawers! You can tell that neither one of the rooms I have been cleaned - ever. We cleaned with Lysol wipes and the amount of dirt was unreal! There has to be a level of cleanliness that they're are unaware of. The carpets were definitely not clean because I found food, stains on the wall, on the curtains and trash behind a chair. Door locks weren't secure. I've never stayed in a hotel so filthy! It's now dubbed the Bates Motel. I will never ever stay here again. Nope. I don't recommend it. If “pay cheap, get cheap” was a hotel, it's undoubtedly the Best Western Plus in Waltham, Massachusetts!! That was neither a deal or a steal, it's the waiting area before the entrance of hell. I was set to stay three nights, I only stayed one. With the nights that were non refundable maybe they use the money to buy cleaning products and actually use them! Unacceptable and a total nightmare.

"Not the BW I have grown to love"

User 12/04/2021

I picked BW Waltham because of the location and because of the value of the brand. I was pretty sure that I made the right choice. I was right on many things but was a little disappointed with a few as well. The check in and check out was super quick. I love the fact that even though I arrived early that my room was ready and I can relax in my room after hours of driving. Because I was with my kids I needed some extra blankets and pillows, so I went downstairs to ask for extras. The person who helped me check -in was no longer there and was replaced by a different person. I wasn't expecting to be interrogated about how many people was in my room and how I need to pay extra because of the number of people in my room and because I didn't put in the right amount of people during my reservation. I explained that in all my times making hotel reservations that I always just look for a room and select the ones that matches my need. I tried my best to be as courteous to the person I was talking to, but it was getting a little tense so I just asked how much are you gonna charge for my kids. That's the time when I was advised that "kids stays free." I wish they didn't bury the lede and that would have lessen the frustration a little bit. The hallway smelled like weed my entire stay which seeped inside the room. Not an ideal smell to wake up to. I decided not to report it because obviously based on the other reviews that the entire hotel smells like that. I picked up the to-go breakfast after our second night, so I asked for 4 bags. Again, I was immediately asked on how many people was in my room because I am only supposed to receive one. I totally understand that with the current pandemic that there are a lot of cost-cutting initiatives for different establishments, especially hotels that are franchises but for muffins and granola bars I was surprised how I needed to justify why I needed 4 bags. The following morning it was a different person in the front and when I asked for breakfast again, that individual advised me what they had and happily gave me what I asked for, a better way to start the morning. Our room was clean enough, it's a hotel with quick turnover so a few missed spots is expected. I am very happy with the cleanliness of the room. Overall it will be my 3rd choice for a hotel if I ever go back to the Boston area.

"Great experience"

mommaniknak, Oxford, Massachusetts 08/04/2021

Despite the pandemic we had a great experience. Friendly, helpful staff and a comfy room at a great price. They accommodated us as well as they could within the state guidelines. Grab and go breakfast, scheduled fitness room/pool times, etc. It was a great location and easy to find being from out of town. We will definitely stay again.

"Needs updating"

JENNE H, Boston, Massachusetts 18/01/2021

I stayed here for one night... It was a special night. Our room was horrible the chair was broken. And the room just out of date. Then the second room was ok... The wall paper was coming off the wall but being held on by tape. And bathroom was small. I'm 5'10" and felt closed in... And the tub was horrible. Paint was chipping. The bed was very comfortable.... That was the only thing that made our stay.

"Best hotel for the value"

User 07/01/2021

Great staff, clean rooms, peaceful and a great value. Would recommend staying there I appreciated the helpful well trained staff. The breakfast was a little lacking due to covid 19 and pool and gym were closed.

"Mold growing on walls! Filthy conditions"

User 08/12/2020

This place smelled disgusting! It was a combination that smelled like stale cigarette/Marijuana smoke and mildew throughout the halls. The room that was given was on the top floor but the conditions where deplorable so I took pictures and showed the clerk at the front desk. She apologized and offered another room. The second offering was just as bad. There was paint peeling off the tub, mold growing in multiple places and broken closet and chest drawers. I left immediately and went elsewhere.

"Don't stay here: not healthy for kids or adults."

User 04/12/2020

Needed 2 rooms close together. Had to abandon our home during insulation phase. Seemed refuge during COVID winter / remote learning. Front desk team unable to accommodate the rooms next to each other or across the hall.... certainly this hotel was not at capacity. Filthy conditions, public health concern, embedded nicotine smell in non smoking designated floor/room. Active cigarette smokers in adjoining room I was not offered. With my 3 young children and husband. Multiple requests for rooms closer together ... or cleaner accommodations. I'm a reasonable person and do not enjoy confrontation. We opted to leave and go to another hotel.

"Don't go here"

22thom2020, Hudson, New York 30/11/2020

Please, for your own benefit. Go to other hotels nearby. The exterior is pretty but the rooms are filthy! This will be my last best western hotel experience. Done with them! You could use some training in cleaning...

"Rooms are clean"

Edward1976, Rochester, New York 08/11/2020

This place is was affordable for the area and rooms were clean. Everything worked and there was plenty of parking. The staff here is very unhappy and seem to not even care that it showed with customers. I felt as I was an inconvenience and not a loyal customer to the BW brand!

"Best Western Boston area"

User 30/10/2020

Hotel was very nice. Appeared to be very new. Room was clean and beds were good. Breakfast was only to go bag because of Covid. Good location--easy to find and easy to get back to freeway. Would certainly stay again when in the area

"Still Great!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 12/10/2020

I have always had great lodging experience at the Best Western in Waltham, and my current stay was no different. The Hotel has maintained its high level professional service, while ensuring a safe stay for the guests with all the necessary precautions in place for COVID-19. The Management team, Jeffrey, Ruth, etc., were extremely understanding and helpful to me when I had to move my stay dates a couple of times because my appointments changed during the height of the pandemic shut downs. All the things I love about this hotel were still present during my stay. Plenty of free parking, a quick easy check in, a quiet, clean, and well appointed room, free wi-fi, a big screen TV, accessible and friendly staff who were happy to provide me items such as extra bottled water or towels, a nice complimentary breakfast, and a really enjoyable in-house restaurant. For those like me that have to travel some distance for their appointments, it is really convenient that the hotel is located right off the inter-state (I-95), and there is a gas station close by. I look forward to staying with these folks again.

"Worst Customer service experience"

User 07/09/2020

We checked in on Wednesday and were told no room service because of COVID-19, if we needed anything we must come to the front desk. We did not ask for anything, however before checkout my son asked for towels to shower before leaving the lady at the front desk asked him to verify he was staying there then told him we do give towels to anyone checking out. We still had 3hrs before checkout. I have stayed at this hotel 12 times in the past year and never complained about issues but this is my last stay.

"Do Not Stay Here"

rdherb, Annapolis, Maryland 25/08/2020

Had a terrible experience. Room was unclean or not cleaned - Some fluid left in small container dripped onto bed, clump of hair on sheet and pillow, unknown yellow stain on ceiling. Requested to have room cleaned and told no housekeeping available. Offered a new room, then pressured to come down and get key. No apology from staff or acknowledgement of inconvenience. Next room had spiders. Refrigerator not working

"Good hotel, great food"

User 24/08/2020

The room was clean and quite large. Decided to try the restaurant attached to the hotel and was very impressed with the quality of the food and the presentation. Overall it was a great experience and would use this hotel again.

"Terrible Housekeeping, Poor Mgmt"

User 07/06/2020

It is evident that this staff is poorly trained and that management is not on top of things at this location. I would never stay here, again. We had to be a thorn just to get towels, coffee or any kind of attention to the room and do it numerous times. I just asked staff (NOT WEARING MASKS WHILE SITTING RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR ROOM AS WE WALKED UP TO IT) that was sitting against their carts doing nothing, if we could get towels, coffee and trash removed and she said: "I no work there." We also saw staff (some wore masks) not wearing masks while in the building while signs clearly said to do so. There was also no enforcement of others not wearing masks. I don't give a rip what you think of the mask issue, the point is that there is zero leadership or quality of service here.

"Safe stay during pandemic"

pamc1234, Mount Laurel, New Jersey 20/05/2020

Our visit was during the pandemic to pickup our college daughter. The hotel and rooms were very clean. We felt safe staying over night. We were able to pickup a bag breakfast which was perfect and greatly appreciated. The Copper House was open for dinner as take out. The salmon was delicious.

"Great Hotel"

User 15/03/2020

This is a great hotel on the outskirts of Boston. Good location, good quality and well priced. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. It has it all, nice lounge, indoor pool, breakfast included and ample free parking.

"Quick Trip"

dollysmom, Halifax, Nova Scotia 09/03/2020

We chose this hotel because it was across the street from where my daughter was staying with her soccer team. Upon arriving in our room, found a dirty towel in my tub and there was a sticky spill on the night stand. Thought maybe after they cleaned the room the next day, the sticky spill would have been cleaned - didn't happen. Really unsure of the cleaning standards. Every thing else was fine. Room was a great size. Great breakfast.

"I want to be fair"

User 06/03/2020

It was overall good. The breakfast was terrible. The staff was mixed . Some friendly and some hostel. Like the cleaning personnel called to tell me I have to check out when she didn't call reception first since I've already requested a late check out. And was approved. Mixed. I'm a platinum member and expected better. But each hotel is different. Please do better I like the Best Western chain. ANTHONY

"A Boston Weeked Get-Away"

Marcia L, Weston, United States 04/03/2020

This Best Western is the best we have experienced of any Best Western Hotels and is most convenient to access much of the area. The Copper Tavern is an excellent restaurant for dinner with a very nice lounge. The continental breakfast is quite extensive with a good range of hours, and coffee service is available all day - these amenities are at non extra charge. The pool looks lovely and seemed to be used quite a bit. The fitness center was quite clean and adequately furnished with machines, weights, and mats...available 24 hours. Travel to Boston, Concord, north or south shore....a great place to stay!

"Best Western is the best hotel in Waltham"

susanhirl8, Boston, Massachusetts 16/02/2020

The Best Western in Waltham is the best hotel in the area. You should see the remodeled pool area and visit the Copper Door Tavern you will enjoy it all. :-) I very much enjoyed my stay especially because at check in the front desk staff person told me about the hotel rewards program and I agreed to join for the benefits he described

"Had a comfortable stay!"

User 15/02/2020

We loved our stay here at Best Western Plus, and will be bringing our children with us next time to stay when we come back to visit Boston again next month. The lobby is beautiful, has a great little common area on the lower level, with a full-size gym. The breakfast was amazing, with so much to choose from starting with a automatic pancake maker, big variety of fresh fruit, oatmeal with tons of toppings, 3 different yogurts bagels, English muffins, toast, scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, home fries, and 6 different cereals! That is something I always look forward too at hotels is a good breakfast to start my day! The bed is very comfortable, and room I great. Only complaint is bathroom is tiny and needs a lot of upgrading. Some water damage on the ceiling and stained tub. Overall, amazing stay though! Oh yeah the pool was very clean and warm as well! Tons of chairs to sit/lay in as well.

"We had a great stay here."

LiciaAnn, Scotia, New York 03/02/2020

Hotel lobby was really nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with an a lot of options. Did not use the pool, but it did look clean with a good amount of chairs to relax in.

"Never stay in room 610"

User 03/02/2020

The noise from the elevator in this room was terrible. The noise was constant until almost midnight and then started back up by 4:00am in the morning. Guests should never be offered this room. This room should be turned into the vending/ice machine area.

"Loved my stay"

tjy2282, Boston, Massachusetts 21/01/2020

This hotel was a great stay. I will be staying again. Very clean, Loved the pool and the breakfast was great. Check in was easy and everybody was very nice. The room was also very big. The bathroom was as well.

"GM and Front Desk were accommodating"

User 20/01/2020

During my stay there was an issue with the guest in the room across the hall which woke me up at 3:45 AM and then again around 9:00 AM. I expressed my frustration to the Hostess at Check-In and she was empathetic to my situation and immediately requested assistance from the GM. The GM apologized profusely and ultimately reduced my rate for the disruption I'd experienced. I have stayed at several hotels within the Boston area in the past but the service I received here is by far the best customer experience I've had in Boston.

"Short and Sweet"

Laura S, Thorold, Canada 20/01/2020

We are always pleased with our stay at this location.Altough our visits are relatively short, we come as often as we can. The staff is friendly and willing to help if you need anything! The hotel is clean and provides a free breakfast for their guests! Ruth is an Amazing Manager who always treats us like family. The one and only negative comment we can make is the fact, the rooms are starting to show signs for a little update. That being said, the newly renovated pool and breakfast area looks Fantasic!! We will be back Spring/summer.

"The "usual""

User 15/01/2020

we have chosen the Best Western Plus as our hotel of choice for whenever we are in the Boston area. We have had other stays with other Hotels but Best Western Plus checked ALL THE BOXES!! The Staff and the Amenities far exceeded all of the other choices for us

"Should be lovely, but hotel is NOT maintained inside the rooms."

User 12/01/2020

First of all peanuts as a check in perk?! LOTS of peanut allergies: try a sweet option either instead or as an alternative. More importantly: A disabled room where the disability part of the shower did NOT work - should have been checked and fixed IMMEDIATELY. The hotel does not teach its employees to check the power plug in in the bedside LAMP which does not work thus leaving ONE working plug near the bed which in 2020 is wholly inadequate. No channel listing in room, doors wiggle and bang every time someone opens one down the hall; AC is inadequate for size of room. VERY disappointed.

Mathews122019, DownEast and Acadia Maine, Maine 28/12/2019

Bathroom shower taps from old 1980's!!!! Un-clean bath tub. Can't they renovate? Never again stay in BW.. Leaky sink which was fixed next day. Room decor and lightings from 1980's. Reception staff are not helpful either... they do not have choice... They said all rooms are like this. Horrible stay. Worst BW hotel I have seen in my entire life!!! Never again... Go look how Hilton or Marriot keeps their hotel. BW grade is like Wyndham.

"Great for families with kids"

MJMadisonwi, Madison, Wisconsin 25/12/2019

This is now our go-to hotel when we visit our grandchildren. They have a swimming pool which is a wonderful treat in winter. The breakfast staff is very friendly and among the nice variety of breakfast items is a pancake making machine. Great fun for the kids to watch work. You get two bottles of water in your room after it is made up which is something we used to have to buy at the other hotels near by. The Copper Top restaurant has great pizza!

"GREAT place to stay “if” everything is in working order when you arrive."

msALG, Rhode Island 22/12/2019

I stayed here one night. The hotel appearance is very nice. Comfortable beds. Clean room. My tub was backed up which was gross (I didn't report it because I was only there one night). The balcony sliding door would only open like 2 inches but, it was winter so I didn't care enough to complain. The pool is advertised as “heated but” it's certainly ice cold. I was told by hotel staff that “the room that the pool is in is whats heated. Not the actual pool. That didn't make sense & was very disappointing. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

"Pretty good, but some issues"

Jon S, Rochester, New York 18/12/2019

I really prefer to write nice and good reviews... Because it means that I really enjoyed something. Unfortunately I have to mention some good and some bad things about the hotel experience here on this occasion. I will start with the positive things. The hotel is clean and attractive, the rooms have been recently redone and they are fairly large, quite clean and comfortable and well appointed. The TV was large and the bathroom was comfortable and clean. The free breakfast was better than most, with a good selection of omelettes and eggs and waffles and bacon and hash browns and toast and cereal and juice and coffee and more. The unfortunate thing is that the woman at the front desk was extremely unknowledgeable about her job, just checking us in took over 20 minutes. And she was extremely rude and unpleasant, bordering on antagonistic. Her rude and unpleasant demeanor and extreme lack of abilities was not a nice way to start a hotel stay.

"Excellent Hotel!"

Vacationite13, Cape Breton Island, Canada 14/12/2019

This Best Western is tops: great gym (appreciated the water in the cooler), very comfortable room and great staff to deal with. Due to weather, we had to leave early and were very disappointed not to have our second night there. The CopperHouse Tavern onsite has excellent food! Recommend the Maple Bourbon Marinated Turkey Tips as a truly delicious meal! As seniors travelling, we appreciate having the senior rate offered.

"Great value!"

jessaandra, Hopkinton, Massachusetts 13/12/2019

This is as really nice BW. The pool is great and the breakfast is hot. The rooms are clean and spacious. It's usually the most economical choice in the area. Become a rewards member an stick to BW and you can earn all sorts of free night too.

"Excellent stay"

hjvsdjcgskvkdfh, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 08/12/2019

Coffee and tea bar!!! Hot and delicious breakfast. Comfortable and very clean rooms. Such pleasant staff. Great location. Pool was cold, but everything else was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

"Terrible hotel"

User 07/12/2019

The 2 times I have stayed here were more than regrettable. Both times I paid over $200 per night to stay, and when I arrive upon check in their credit card machine is ALWAYS broken. Then they ask you for every card under the sun and make it seem like it's your fault. I had to call my banks and cc company to see what's wrong. So annoying. I hope they can make checking in easier!

"Best BW I have ever stayed"

lilpan, New York City, New York 02/12/2019

Spacious room. Very nice staff during both check-in and check-out. A huge parking lot. The pool was heated and gym was well equipped. Offered free breakfast until 10am. Def the best BW I have ever stayed. It's pretty much Hyatt or Hilton level room and amenities at BW price.

"A great place in Waltham!"

Ellen R, Woodbridge, United States 01/12/2019

We have stayed several times at the Best Western in Waltham over the last year when we come to visit family, and it never disappoints. The staff is really welcoming and efficient. The hotel is conveniently located off 95/128, and the rooms are clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent; hot eggs, cereals, pastries, and so on. The fitness center is new and is well equipped. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, which is excellent; they have a good selection on their menu of entrees, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, and we have enjoyed several meals there, especially when we arrive and are tired from our long drive. Oh, and we especially like that they have free coffee and tea 24 hours a day--so nice to unwind with a cup of herbal tea after visiting with family all day.

"Worthy Stay"

User 26/11/2019

This was the first time staying at this particular BW. Great location and beautifully decorated. Great service. It appears a lot of work put in to making this BW show pride of ownership. Now listed as one of my favourites.

"They Put The Plus In Best Western"

TACLYO, Stratford, Connecticut 25/11/2019

There are many hotels in this immediate area and I have stayed in several over the years. I paid $83 a night after taxes and fees (which is a welcome steal) through a third party site and I have to say, you will not get a nicer hotel in this area for less. In fact, you'll probably pay more for some that are not as nice as this Best Western Plus. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, the pool area is nice, free parking, they have an attached restaurant and bar (which on the door and Google say they close at 1am on Saturdays, but the front desk will confirm, they actually close at midnight.) and the hotel offers a pretty decent free breakfast as far as hotel breakfasts go. I gave this hotel a 5 star because it exceeds the expectations of a Best Western (hence the "Plus" I suppose) and it's under rated in comparison to it's immediate competitions.

"1st class - very impressive!!"

m35yellowbrickrd, Hanover, Massachusetts 25/11/2019

Great - easy location Staff was very nice / accommodating Rooms was very nice / modern Bed was very comfortable Breakfast (included) options were very good and the staff kept everything full - well done !! The pool area might be considered a little cool - but the pool itself was fine The only "small" complaint might be the tub should be resurfaced / replaced Other note: while it was of no issue to us - the height of the actual back tub might present a physical problem to others

"Fun in Boston"

Sheila F, Lakeland, Florida 19/11/2019

Comfortable bed, roomy room, beautiful view, nice breakfast, great restaurant, wonderful location, clean, easy check in, yummy breakfast, great big bathroom, nice hotel, would stay again, highly recommend

"Stay at Best Western"

User 18/11/2019

It was a very nice hotel service was good and rooms were nice will stay again and will tell others if they need a place to stay.Checked out the gym and pool as well and both were clean and safe. Has a great choice of other restaurants in area

"Meh in Waltham"

Joseph A, Reading, United States 10/11/2019

I had an over night meeting so I decided to stay @ the Best Western in Waltham. Right across the street form Ruth's Chris. This is why I selected this location. The exterior of the hotel was great. Same goes for the lobby. There is a Tavern attached to the facility as well. The check-in process was quick and easy. The internet worked well even later that night. This is normally when the internet in other facilities seems to become a bit congested. This did not happen here. Now onto the room. For a Best Western the room was pretty bland. The room lighting was sub-par. The shower head was almost useless. I was forced to use the pulsating 3 stream for bathing. Hot water worked fine and the room was clean. Overall for the rate I paid I guess everything was meh. Could have been better and could have been worse.

"Nice clean"

kb111663, Yonkers, New York 06/11/2019

Although it was a nice clean hotel the service was not so great. Maybe because it was parent's weekend for Bentley but our room was not what we asked for. They do gave a nice fitness room and the breakfast was very good and fresh.

"New England Trip"

User 05/11/2019

Very nice hotel with many ammenities, full breakfast and great associated restaurant. We were on a 3 week New England trip and we stayed at the Best Western Plus Waltham for our Boston leg of the trip. Very affordable for the area and it got us out of expensive downtown Boston hotels.

"Great location & place to stay"

User 30/10/2019

When visiting son attending Bentley university it is a great location and a great hotel. Breakfast is very good with lots of options, the fitness center is brand new and offers lots of equipment, restaurant and lounge is great place for meals and meeting up with other families. The pool area is brand new but never used it. Really like the complimentary bottles of water in room every day. Beds very comfortable as well.

"All in All Very Good, I would Stay Here Again"

WPMOM09, Freedom, New Hampshire 28/10/2019

If you get this at a fair price this is a very good hotel. I have always liked the Best Western Brand because they are usually reliable. The young man who checked me in was fantastic, The overnight crew was good but not as good. The rooms are spacious the beds, pillows and sheets clean and comfortable. There is bottled water waiting for you in your room. Love the brand of toiletries they are using and if you forget anything they have free supplies at the desk. The towels are a nice upgrade. Nice flat screen TVs. Not much road noise at all from where my room was. I wanted to take a bath but changed my mind when I saw that there was paint or the first layer flaking off, but the water was nice and hot and the pressure good for a shower. Did not use the pool, it was a bit small and to me the water looked a little dingy and not crystal clear so I avoided it. Could have just been how it looked but still. The workout area was huge with lots of equipment even though I didn't use it. Breakfast was ok. Eggs were good and they provided sausage and potatoes, fruit, cereals etc etc. The fruit however tasted like it was starting to ferment. The room is very cramped. Trying to fit too many tables and chairs so you have to squeeze through. I would suggest taking a few out. Also, there is an online service called BWGUEST.COM and you sign in to check in, check out and communicate anything you need for your room. I used this to communicate that I needed an extra blanket as well as pen and paper as soon as I checked in. Never heard from them. Finally in the evening after my shower around 8pm I called the desk to relay my needs. They said I had to come down to the front desk for the extra blanket. Was not about to do that in my pajamas with wet hair. So I went without. The restaurant in the hotel is convenient and since it was pouring rain, I did not have to go out for dinner. Just ordered take out and brought it to my room. Descent food, ok price, worth it for the convenience for sure. Last complaint is the printer did not work in the business center and I had work to do. I had to email what I needed to the front desk but the amount of work I needed to do did not make this feasible.

"Exactly what I needed"

User 17/10/2019

While travelling for business, I look for a hotel that is convenient, clean, comfortable, has free wi-fi, and is quiet. Best Western Plus Waltham Boston was exactly that. I only wish they had room service.

"Nice stay at Waltham"

Puneet R, Gurugram (Gurgaon), India 17/10/2019

The hotel is good with clean rooms and good breakfast. Some more vegetarian options would have made it excellent. The staff is fine. Better staff is there in Breakfast area. The shuttle was not working when I stayed.

"Great for a dozen!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 13/10/2019

I have stayed at this hotel about a dozen times when I am in this area for my appointments. It is always the least stressful part of my trip. The GM, Jeffrey Kerrigan, and his staff, such as the Front Office Manger, Ruth St Louis, care about their guests and know what they are doing. Check-In is always a breeze, and I have never had to ask for another room because of any issue. The rooms I have had are always spotlessly clean and well stocked, all the amenities work, and the housekeeping staff are always polite and helpful if I need something. It was raining on my first night there, so it was so nice to just go downstairs and visit the in-house restaurant. The food and service were great. The menu has something for everyone.

"Amazing Hotel"

AdriQTraveller, Tustin, California 06/10/2019

We stayed for 2 nights and we were amazed at how clean and nicely kept this Best Western Plus is. The lobby, pool, gym and breakfast area is no different than those you find in a 4-5 star hotel. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom's water pressure extremely good. The drive to Downtown Boston was 15-20 mins so not bad at all and the drive very pretty with the river on the side and so much green everywhere. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great hotel and affordable.

"Wonderful breakfast and spacious clean room"

268marianaw, Fort Worth, Texas 06/10/2019

Enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was awesome, staff was efficient and friendly. Room was spacious and clean . Its about 30 minutes from downtown Boston, we took Lyft to avoid driving in congested Boston traffic. Will definitely stay here again!

"Perfect Spot"

1TravelingWoman, Davie 04/10/2019

Had a very nice king-sized bed room # 201. Very spacious and had a queen-sized sofa bed. A linen bag with bedding for the sofa bed was in the closet. The balcony was perfect this time of year, as you can leave it open or just step out for some fresh air and a distant mountain view. Has on-site restaurant that stops serving food at 10p; although, it's open until 1a. No notice of early food cutoff, so I just missed service by 15 mins after being out all day and looking forward to a relaxing meal and cocktail before going up for the night. The free breakfast had surprising variety and was very filling. 24-hr coffee/tea station is maintained in the breakfast/lounge area. Location has great new gym equipment so you can get a decent workout onsite. Attractive indoor pool area sees lots of evening use. Also, great location in regards to distance to attractions. Very quiet place with easy I-95 and US-20 access. Would definitely go again!

"Great location, Nice Hotel, Staff needs a little help."

mainstreetservices, Aiea, Hawaii 02/10/2019

Nice clean quiet hotel and rooms. We really enjoyed our stay except for a couple of nit picking things that bothers me when staying at a hotel chain that prides itself on service. Upon arriving to our room we tried to report the mini-fridge was not working. We got let on hold, but reported it to house keeping supervisor next morning. I think they got it going, but it never got really cold. Stayed 4 more nights and it was great. Although I feel staff could use a bit more training on guest engagement. Just a Good Morning and smile would go a long way. Free hot breakfast was not fancy, but good enough to get going. Something more substantial was available at what appeared to be a very popular restaurant attached to the hotel. Lastly upon preparing to depart, we needed to print boarding passing, but found the printer was not working and more then a dozen print jobs waiting. When I inquired at the front desk, the member shuffling papers turned to me from the office and give me 2 palms up "So the is not printing!" and quickly returns to his task. Not a good way to cap what was for the most part a pretty good stay.

"Very Enjoyable Stay"

User 01/10/2019

Stayed Thursday to Monday. All was well. Room was clean, comfortable - had microwave, fridge and hairdryer. Hotel offered - free of charge - some items that were forgotten while packing. Breakfast was particularly nice.

"Great location-Comfortable Stay"

sweetbabyjane, sunny San Diego 29/09/2019

We spent most of the month of August at The Best Western in Waltham, MA. We were there for medical purposes and a family visit. The facility is a few yards from major highways and a mile from downtown Waltham. We had a large room with a king-sized bed and a slider that opened to refresh the air. The furniture could do with a sprucing-up and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning; but the mattress was comfortable, the TV worked, the breakfast room was well-stocked with a personable staff, the internet was free, and there was a full-serviced sports bar located within the hotel. There is no laundry within the hotel for guests and the small room refrigerator was inadequate for our purposes. This made the long-term stay challenging. We did not use the amenities to include the inviting pool.

"Trip to see Downton Abbey Exhibit"

julierhonemus1978, Winchester, Indiana 24/09/2019

I selected this hotel because it was less expensive and had a shuttle service that went within 3 miles of hotel. This was perfect as it would get us back and forth from the commuter rail line. I confirmed the shuttle service 3 days prior to our trip but when we arrived in Waltham and called the hotel I was told they no longer offered the service. I was relying on the shuttle to get up back and forth. We ended up having to use Lyft to get to hotel and commuter rail station.

"Bedbugs september 2019 best western walthan boston"

User 19/09/2019

I had bedbugs in my bed. I've just stayed for 1 night, 18th september 2019 and It costs me almost 300 bucks and they don't want me to give back my money. Only one word: shame. Room: 306. All my body itches...

"OK for the price"

Airmarshll, Norwalk, Connecticut 16/09/2019

Keep in mind this is the Best Western, not the “best Westin”. Recently renovated and it's the cheapest of the hotels in the area. My peeve is the room had an odd odor. Not overwhelming but I noticed it upon entering. No idea what caused it. Luckily I had a spray bottle of Zero Odor in my car to neutralize it. The front desk was efficient but not welcoming. So for a relatively moderate price it was fine as a place to crash but it wasn't a surprise value (which I was hoping for). Would I rate it higher if the room smelled nice and the staff welcomed me? Definitely.

"Great Hotel"

JSGK1234, The Villages, Florida 10/09/2019

Everything was perfect! The pool is open again and is gorgeous! The breakfast was very good! The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so it is easy to get to most places in the area.

"Nice hotel"

Linette2, Fort Myers, Florida 09/09/2019

My husband and I stayed here one night. We were on our way to Maine for a wedding so we decided to stay in Boston the night before. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was clean and nice. The breakfast was pretty good as well. We would definitely stay there again!

"Business Visit"

ADREMBIO, Mumbai, India 04/09/2019

Very spacious room, clean bath, and satisfying breakfast. There is a taverna on the property which has a reasonably priced as well as food and drink selection. Check in was quick, complimentary water and coffee available in rooms. Highly recommend

"clean and comfortable hotel"

kxz255, Atlanta, Georgia 31/08/2019

I stayed one night to help my daughter moving into her apartment in Boston. about 30 minutes drive from Boston. Won't recommend it to tourist due to distant from Boston. I don't mind since I have a rental car. and parking is free here. breakfast is not the best but ok and free.

"Good enough"

KirklandTom, Kirkland, Washington 28/08/2019

Best Western Plus Waltham Boston was more than my expectation. The reviews were mixed but for me the overall experience was good. It was not in any of downtown, but there were a lot of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was spacious and clean, and the hot breakfast was not perfect but okay. The parking was free.

"Excellent Overnight Stay"

User 12/08/2019

The hotel is clean and modern with a very friendly, accommodating staff. Our room was spotless, beds were crisp and comfortable and the air conditioner was in top working condition! We arrived after 7 and decided to eat at the restaurant on the property instead of traveling back out and we were super glad that we did. Absolute BEST burgers we've had at a really reasonable price. We only stayed here one night while en route to our final destination but I would surely go back when in the area.

"Don't Judge a book by it's cover."

User 11/08/2019

Room stunk. A/C did not work. Desk agents seemed like they had to go out of their way to cancel 2nd night stay and refund my CC so I could pay cash. I thought the restaurant was over priced for 4 persons...cost 90 bucks with tip.

"Great Place close to Boston"

User 30/07/2019

This hotel and accommodations were slightly under achieved our expectations in room 204 due to an air conditioner (LOUD) and not cooling proper breakfast was just OK. Not quite the breakfast we have had at multiple other BW locations. Everything else during our stay was quite good. I booked another stay at this same location. Hopefully my next review will better.

"Bad experience"

User 29/07/2019

We check in on Friday for 2 nights. The room is old and the air conditioning is very noisy. We called for room change but they said no other room is available and the technician only comes in on Monday (which I check out on Sunday). Bathtub is dirty and the staff are not well-trained, took a long time to find an answer. I waste 15 mins in the morning talking to them just to add a name to the receipt.

"Excellent Services"

virginiak708, Wrightstown 26/07/2019

I have been to this hotel numuous times and just love the location and it is very quick to check in and out but best of all the resteraunt onsite is just awesome and you don't have to leave the hotel. Also the pool is just beautiful.

"Terrible customer service"

7maryellend, Hamden, Connecticut 23/07/2019

Person at the front desk must have been having a bad day. Very rude. I also have been trying to get a copy of my receipt and have called 3 times. I am now on hold for 10 minutes. Previously I have been on hold for over 10 minutes then transferred to someone else. Left a message with my phone number and never received a call back. Very poor customer service. I will not stay there again. I travel monthly and stay in Waltham. This is the first and last time I stay at Best Western Plus in Waltham.

"Top notch breakfast "

angeleyes27, Marlton, New Jersey 19/07/2019

This hotel has a great breakfast with 6 types of cereal, fruit, pancake maker, scrambled eggs, western omelet, potatoes, muffins, yogurt, toast, and drinks. Potatoes are spicy. The room is spacious with king bed, sitting area with sofa and small balcony. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but adequate and functional. It was not directly off I-84 so you would have to use GPS to get here. It has a large indoor pool adjacent to the breakfast room and fitness rooms on bottom floor. There is a nice on site restaurant. Only thing I see negative is that although the high top tables look nice, no one was using them. Everyone sat at the tables. We got a reasonable rate here.

"over nite stay in Boston"

maryellen157, North Haven, Connecticut 17/07/2019

the room and service were very professional, clean rooms, very comfortable stay. It worked out perfectly to see a game at Fenway the last time we stayed, we ate in the restaurant in the hotel. Food and service was was excellent.

"Don't bother!"

User 07/07/2019

Within a half mile of the Best Western are a half a dozon other chains that pay attention to their guests and to the details of there stay. the pool was closed during 4th of July week and there were no lights in my bath........

"Clean, nicely appointed - but there are issues..."

btlfan, richmond 07/07/2019

The hotel was nicely appointed throughout, had a very nice swimming pool and a restaurant that I would like to have tried, but it was closed/ had very limited hours of operation when I was there July 3-5. It had a very spacious breakfast room and offered a good breakfast. My only disappointment was the pancake machine was out of order both mornings. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Their website indicates they have free shuttle service within the immediate vicinity. That is incorrect. A sign at the desk states there is no shuttle. Anyone expecting a shuttle will be very disappointed. My first evening, when ai came back to the hotel, hoping to get a bite to eat at the restaurant-bar, it had closed early. I went to the front desk to ask if there was a 7-Eleven or a convenienc store in the area. The desk clerk barely looked up from what he was doing, he shook his head and said, and I quote “You can google it on your phone” and went about his business. He was correct. I could, and I did, but I have never been treated as rudely or dismissively in my life. There are a lot of positives to this hotel, but the rude remark left a bit of a negative impression. Management may want to consider better staff training to make this otherwise “good” hotel great.

"The pool has been out of service for a year"

User 04/07/2019

The facility was very nice. My problem is with management. When I called to make reservation through best western last summer they told me there was a pool. When we got there it was not working. It seems to be the policy to reveal the pool closure when you get there. It really was a nice hotel so we booked it this summer and I was told by central booking the pool was working. We got there and guess what... they told us the pool was closed. I have two children. It put a damper on their trip. The irony was I had originally booked with another hotel that had a pool then changed my reservations when they told me the pool worked. We put a complaint in and were told we would be hearing from the manager..... we were there for three days and never heard from them.

"Looks are deceiving and service is lackluster"

broat, Dallas, Texas 03/07/2019

The room is large and clean, but sparsely decorated. The TV (room 205) did not work but since we were only staying 1 night, we didn't bother to call and get it fixed. I called down to the front desk to get a toothbrush and some lotion delivered, and at every other hotel they would bring it up, but the front desk staff told me to come down and get it. This is very disappointing, as any other hotel (including other Best Westerns so don't give me any “hotel policy” stuff) would gladly bring it up. When I went to the front desk to get a toothbrush the next morning, the front desk staff asked for my room number, which has also never happened to me at any hotel (including Best Westerns) because she didn't believe that I stayed at the hotel. This made me feel very unsafe as other people in the lobby could hear. The toilet seat in my room was extremely slippery, and if you sat down you were always on the verge of the toilet seat slipping off and you falling into the toilet. Breakfast was average. The breakfast attendant was extremely rude, as he asked my mother to move her chair even though there was still a pathway twice his width. He also asked guests to move the trays instead of doing it himself. Overall I got the feeling that the staff were not sincere, not friendly, and did not want to be there. There are many other hotels in the across the street, such as Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard, and Hilton Garden Inn, and they all have prices comparable to the price I paid for this hotel. I am extremely disappointed in both the room and especially the staff and service in this hotel. I will not be staying again and I advise you to spend your money elsewhere.

"Great Location - Update badly needed"

Lynne D, Melbourne Beach, Florida 03/07/2019

The presentation upon arrival is very nice but where it really matters, the room itself, is sadly disappointing. The bathroom ceiling was clearly damaged from an upper floor leak and unfit for use. The shower was difficult to manage and although clean gave the impression of not being so. The glass doors looked out onto a filthy area with a storage screen/window in that deck right in front of us which made us keep the drapes closed at all times. There are several other hotels right there so I suggest you look closely at those. It was not a discounted rate or 'freebe' but a costly unpleasant experience.

"Would stay again"

mabellnyc, nyc 02/07/2019

The staff at the hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very clean and except for a noisy air conditioner I have no complaints about the room. It was large and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and had a variety of items on the menu. The breakfast which was included in the price of the room was excellent. There were a wide choice of breakfast foods and all were good.

"Massachusettes Adventure"

User 30/06/2019

Location was chosen for it's closeness to Boston. The facility was clean and well maintained. The location was near the major roadways. The breakfast had a large variety of items to choose from and were replenished frequently.

"Great stay"

Anne689, Livermore, California 24/06/2019

Overnight stay while visiting Boston. Highly recommend. Clean, comfortable room, quiet AC and accommodated my request for a room on an upper floor. Good breakfast in a clean well lit dining area. Friendly desk staff.

"Very pleasant business overnight"

TechByeman, Fairfax, VA 13/06/2019

Stayed at this BW on Sunday night before a meeting in Bedford. It was an easy-to-reach location between a visit on Sunday and my destination Monday. Easy access to 128/I-95. All the basics I need for a place for a business trip: good bed, quiet, clean room, working Internet, decent breakfast selection, A/C and bathroom that work. Staff was pleasant and efficient for check-in (late) and check-out. There was a pool (which I didn't use) but which was larger than the postage stamps at most places. Price (corp. rate) was less than 1/3 what I had been charged the previous night at a major hotel in Cambridge. The stay at BW was more pleasant.

"great stay"

Mary C, Brick 12/06/2019

We were in the Boston area to visit with family. Hotel was close to our amily and close to the highway. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great variety.Room and facilities very clean. We were very pleased.

"Clean, Comfortable, Friendly"

Clawboot, New York 30/05/2019

I booked a room here on short notice for a business meeting. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with free wifi. The breakfast was included in the price and had a very good selection of hot and cold items including fruit. Overnight parking is included. Restaurant is in the same building and although I didn't dine there, the place was busy/popular. Finally, the price was significantly less than other nextdoor properties in Waltham. I'll stay here again.

"Quick get away"

Mobile63404992528, Staten Island, New York 28/05/2019

Good place to hangout with family after attending a wedding. It was comfortable and refreshing. We enjoyed breakfast with family. The room was perfect for me and my family. It offered all the amenities we needed during our stay.

"Average Hotel, decent price for the area."

bleavitt92, Saint Albans, Maine 21/05/2019

Nice outdoor renovations, rooms need renovating. pool was being done while we were there so we couldn't use it. continental breakfast was very good! attached restaurant was good for dinner! staff was friendly. decently priced for the area, 30 minutes from Boston center.

"BEDBUGS (Boston Marathon Weekend)"

User 18/05/2019

We stayed here for the Boston marathon weekend. I found a bedbug on the last day of our stay (when I was dressing up to run the marathon). We packed, went to the front desk to report the incident and asked for plastic bags to put in all our luggage. They told us that they were going to bring the dogs to search the room and give us a call. They never called us. We called them the next day and spoke to a lady who had no idea of the incident. She was really nasty to us. We asked to be transferred to the manager. He didn't picked up so we left a voicemail saying that we were going to call back at 2:30pm. We called and he didn't pick up. Later on he returned the call, he claimed we didn't call him. He said the dogs didn't find anything and that he was going to send us the report. It's been a more than a month and we never got the report. They reimbursed one night but obviously, we are never coming back! The bedbug situation was nasty, but their attitude was even worse.

"Good stay "

IlieanaD, Union, New Jersey 18/05/2019

We only stayed one night to go to Boston Children's Hospital. It was clean and nice. It was close to highway and hospital. Breakfast options were good. Although I wished they had real cooked pancakes or waffles instead of a pancake machine. Staff was friendly. Overall good stay.

"Great Overall Value"

GrandTour10464143679, Guilford, Connecticut 13/05/2019

Helpful staff, great associated restaurant, very easy highway access. I will probably stay at this hotel in the future. Room was clean, mostly quiet, and the free breakfast had a great selection of fruits, eggs, bakery items and coffee.

"Great stay for the price!"

Narma17, Phillipsburg, New Jersey 03/05/2019

We booked here for a reasonable price within our budget and definitely the hotel exceeded our expectations. Very clean and comfortable rooms with all facilities and a tiny balcony. But someone left our balcony door open when we checked in and it was very cold when we entered the room. Breakfast had a good spread. Service was fast too. Will stay again !

"Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommend!"

User 03/05/2019

Excellent in every way!!!! Clean, friendly, good service, excellent food. Extremely comfortable room. Staff was helpful, polite and extremely friendly. The breakfast was exceptional. The food provided was fresh and delicious

"Definitely not worth it"

daniel m, Bradenton, Florida 23/04/2019

Price is the only competitive advantage at this hotel. But not worth it. Everyone at the front desk must be in training. Computers are a mystery here. Rooms are minimal and bedding has seen better days. Well used. On our stay dead birds in the stairwells and double charging at the convenience store. Lobby area freshly mopped to create hazard for late night return. Rude response to complaint. For just a few dollars more much better accommodations in the immediate area. There is a reason why Best Western charges less.

"Good hotel for access to western Boston and eastern Massachusetts "

IanHR, Houston, Texas 20/04/2019

This hotel is clean, quiet and has easy access to I95. Rooms are comfortable as you would expect. As part of the building (but separately owned) is the Copper House Tavern, which serves excellent food. That in itself is a good reason to stay here. The only downside is that access to mass transit is limited, this is not a good place if you plan to travel to Downtown Boston.

"Great stay every time!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 12/04/2019

Had to travel to Waltham for appointments, and stayed at The Best Western TLC, as I usually do when I need to travel to this area. Have stayed here numerous times, and I have always been very happy with that decision. The General Manager, Jeffrey Kerrigan, maintains the highest level of professional hospitality at the hotel. His supervisory and support staff are always friendly and helpful, such as Ruth at the front desk, and Emerson in the Breakfast Room. It has never taken me more than a couple of minutes for the staff to get me checked in and on my way to my room. The accommodations and advantages of the Hotel are what you need and would like: the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well stocked; big widescreen TVs; there is complimentary Wi-Fi; there is a great breakfast room with a complimentary breakfast that has something for everyone; an indoor pool; a great in-house restaurant; plenty of free parking; it is located right off the highway; there is a gas station close by; and, there is a nice steak house restaurant across the street. Thank you Mr. Kerrigan and Best Western.

"Great value & experience"

Go49804267082, Enosburg Falls, Vermont 10/04/2019

Room was very nice, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Being able to easily control the heat was greatly appreciated. After a long care ride from Vermont, it was awesome to eat in the hotel's restaurant. The choices on the menu were numerous and the food was hot & delicious. I will be back in the future, as my daughter will be attending college in Boston.

K6023QMtammyr, Littleton, New Hampshire 06/04/2019

We came for a weekend of cheer comps. Picked this place as it was in the middle and we wanted a pool for kids to unwind. Pool was under renovation and we weren't told that. Kids were very disappointed. Plugs in bathroom in a far away spot. Breakfast was great.

";good location"

Stephen B, stony piont, United States 25/03/2019

this is a nice property and in a good location. It really needs sprucing up which is in progress for the past year. The heat a/c system works but you have to trick in the temp. Overall the price and location make it a good choice however there are several other choices next door and across the street in you feel akward

"Waltham BW+ Hits the Sweet Spot"

Go200080, Waltham, Massachusetts 22/03/2019

Waltham BW is good mid-grade option. Well-maintained, spotty parking however, grub Hub has many local options and attached restaurant is very good. Could use more elliptical machines and pool repairs are promising.

"Good value Boston hotel"

User 24/02/2019

My wife and recently stayed at this hotel for four days. The only problems we had was with the front desk properly crediting our $250 Best Western travel card (gift card). They finally got it right 4 days after check out. Also make your reservation online or with the Best Western 800 reservation number. Don't call the hotel they're clueless after hours. The rooms are nice and during business hours the front desk can handle requests. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast and the breakfast attendant guy. He was amazing good.

"Great overnight while touring colleges"

jeannesand, Long Island, New York 23/02/2019

We chose this hotel based on price, location, and amenities (free parking, free breakfast). This hotel met or exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and clean. Make sure you bring your device chargers since they don't have the converters built into the light fixtures like many other hotels do. The helpful woman at the front desk lent me her own personal charger so we could charge our devices, Also, we did arrange for a wake-up call, but one was never received. They do have an alarm clock on the nightstand so wake-up calls aren't really necessary, I guess. I usually arrange a call just as a back-up in case I oversleep. The free breakfast was really good - there were hot items (scrambled eggs, mini omelets, sausages, oatmeal, and pancakes), a variety of yogurt and different muffins and bread items. All in all, it was a great overnight stay while we were touring a college nearby.

"Better than expected."

User 10/02/2019

Everything was clean. Check in and out was simple and quick. The breakfast was MUCH better than expected. Apples, oranges, grapefruit, cantaloupe, honeydew, scrambled eggs, egg white omelet, pancakes, muffins, toast, pancakes, oatmeal, potatoes, sausage, cereal, coffee, juice, variety of yogurts, and more.

"Great experience"

User 31/01/2019

My husband, son and I stayed one night. All the staff were friendly. Check in and check out were quick and easy. The general areas and room were clean. The attached restaurant had a good atmosphere and bartenders were friendly. The only “bad” thing was it didn't have a safe in the room.

User 07/01/2019

The hotel was very professional. Very clean. Wish the poo was open but realize they are building a new one. Breakfast was very nice. Not typical continental. Nice set up of fresh fruit and hot eggs and hash browns. Overall a great stay. The attached restaurant is great as well. Cheers

"Great hotel for the price, wonderful staff"

km3x3hd, Flemington, New Jersey 06/01/2019

I stay here quite regularly because I work in Waltham yet live in NJ. This is my go to hotel on an almost weekly basis for 3-4 nights. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfy and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. They also offer breakfast which I have yet to participate in because I have to be in the office by 7 am. Sometimes the refrigerator had some issues but they were always willing to either fix it or change my room. Heat works great, location is wonderful if you are in Waltham. There is another restaurant attached to the hotel, but not part of the hotel chain.

"Excellent hotel for the price"

aaronwkong, Waterloo, Canada 02/01/2019

The hotel had a very good first impression, very big, clean, and welcoming. Very fine hotel, the rooms were nice and big, the shower was a bit old as the corner was peeling but other than that the rooms were perfect. The breakfast had a wide variety of foods, ranging from hot breakfast, to yogurt, to fruits, as well as there being good coffee. However, the hot foods were a bit below par as the eggs were bland and the bacon was extremely oily and near burnt. The fresh fruits were good.

"Excellent and Consistent"

Lynne R, Raymond, United States 17/12/2018

I work in the Waltham area but live in NH. With a long commute, I sometimes need to stay in the area. This Best Western has been my hotel of choice for longer than I can remember. Staff always makes me feel like a special guest. Rooms are impeccable and beds are incredibly comfortable. All staff I've had dealings with are extremely responsive and so nice to have a restaurant right in the hotel for late arrivals, which is often the case for me.

"Awesom value for the dollar"

User 17/12/2018

The bathroom door in the room didn't close tightly thus leaving a big gap giving a feeling of lack of privacy. Room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was great. Some of the food was not as hot as it could be but there was a microwave to reheat. A lot more food than just cereal and bagels. Bartenders in the in attached bar were VERY unattentive considering how few people were sitting at the bar.

"Great Staff and Pleasant Hotel"

DayTrip55632768312, Lockport, New York 16/12/2018

This hotel was quite nice - seemed to be updated inside and the room was very welcoming. The staff was great -- Kaina who checked us in was born to be in customer service -- she was pleasant and very helpful. She made you feel like she had known you for years -- and you were just returning to a familiar place. The breakfast was very good too. Many many options and the attendant was on his game to ensure everything was fully stocked and tables were cleaned.Would definitely come back to this hotel again when in Boston area.

"Always a great stay!"

ModernWanderers, Connecticut 08/12/2018

This is the fourth time I've stayed at this hotel in the past 4 months. Staff are always superb -- welcoming and friendly, going above and beyond for anything you need. They genuinely seem to care about their guests.Super clean room with everything you need. Fantastic gym (relatively new with excellent equipment) and great breakfast. The staff in the breakfast area always super welcoming. Another reason I love this hotel is the Copper Roof Tavern attached to it. Incredible food and very popular with the locals.Fantastic location -- away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston, and yet only a 30-minute drive in to Boston Common during rush hour.My only complaint (which no doubt can't be changed) are the relatively thin walls, which means you can hear everything that's happening in the bathroom in the room next to yours (eg. very loud toilet flushes in the middle of the night always wake me up!).I travel a lot for work and will definitely be back to stay here in 2019!

"Good value"

Pam S, Boston, Massachusetts 07/12/2018

Very reasonable price. Downside was hotel full of families for perhaps sporting tournaments in the area. We had very noisy neighbors packed into a room next to ours. Very inconsiderate late into the night.

"A Best Buy"

ginmin41, Montvale, New Jersey 27/11/2018

This Best Western Plus Hotel is clean, comfortable, and welcoming - an excellent value. Convenient to Cambridge and surrounding towns, with free parking and wifi, it also has a good restaurant attached.

"No pool access, electric shock on light switch, poor snow removal for handicapped vehicles. Great breakfast!"

Patricia B, South Hamilton, Massachusetts 17/11/2018

An advance request for the manager to call me was ignored. Because of the impending snowstorm I made the reservation anyway. Snow plow snowed me in and without the aide of a kind fellow traveler I would have had great difficulty getting my car out. I have a handicap placard and was parked in the handicapped space. Assistance should be available during snowstorms for handicapped individuals. The breakfast was a real plus!

"Boston Visit."

Christopher A, Kinnelon, New Jersey 16/11/2018

Found everything at this Best Western Plus to be excellent. It's a close commute into downtown Boston without the high cost of hotels in downtown Boston. Found staff to be friendly and helpful; hotel was clean and inviting.

"Overnight Stay"

Todd L, Maine 15/11/2018

In the area after a basketball tournament and stayed here. Nice hotel, great staff, very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and no problems during the stay at all. Would stay here again. Very convenient location as well.

"Not overly impressed"

Y9781NWandrewm, Fredericton, Canada 06/11/2018

When they say first impressions, well Room not ready upon my arrival, front counter staff not overly friendly and looked like it was a dress down day. Room was O.K. bed, T.V. and shower were fine. Not worth the money though.

"Nice Stay - No Problems"

Bob B, Erie, Pennsylvania 23/10/2018

Everything was about as expected. The room was clean. We had a good breakfast. The location is good if you have business or activities in Waltham. The room was comfortable with all the necessary amenities. No problems at all.

"Scamming customers with fraudulent charges"

tomiv948, Finland 15/10/2018

Average hotel with horrible customer service. I had prepaid the room, but noticed from a credit card bill after the visit that they had charged the room again without any consent from the customer. Even after reclamation, they claimed charge to be just a pre-authorization. After long discussions and proof from my bank, they finally agreed to return charge. Overall it took extremely long time and actually cost me extra money thanks to different currency exchange rate between charge and return dates. They didn't even bother to compensate this cost for me nor gave any other compensation from the trouble or poor customer service. If you happen to end up there, remember to check you credit card bill extra carefully afterwards. They are definitely not going to fix their mistakes by default.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear tomiv948, I'm sorry that a mistake was made by my staff. However, for you to claim that we are scamming our customers is a falsehood. The mistake was corrected as soon as we were notified. Unfortunately, because your have a foreign bank the credit takes longer to be cleared by your bank. Please call the hotel if you wish to discuss this further. I am unable to find your reservation because you left no name or phone number. Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

"Ok - best value "

Travelling_Col, London, United Kingdom 06/10/2018

We arrived into Logan Airport c1830 jet lagged and this hotel represented the best value we could find in Boston perfect for setting off the following morning for west Massachusetts. It is nothing special but did what was required and easy to get to from the airport

"Fithy bathroom"

User 06/10/2018

Checked in and started to take a shower after a long day. Pulled back the shower curtain to find the tub filthy with hair, dirt and a piece of a used bandaid stuck to the side of the tub. Called the front desk to complain and was told to pack up my family and move to another room. So we were inconvenienced because they didn't bother to clean the bathroom. Got a grudging and belated apology. Will never stay in another Best Western again. . .

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear Mike T, Please accept my personal apology. I am looking into this situation. Please call or e-mail me at the hotel so we can discuss this further. I want to get to the bottom of this . Sincerely , Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

"Highway Oasis"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 05/10/2018

Made my usual 115 mile trip to Waltham area for my appointments, and as usual it was a relief to arrive at the Best Western in Waltham. After a couple of hours of heavy grueling highway traffic it was nice to pull into the Best Western parking lot, which is just of the highway (route 128), easily park, get checked in, and get to my room in a matter of a few minutes. A David at the front desk made that smoothly happen, and he and Ruth were great throughout my stay, patiently and happily answering any questions I had. Everyone that works there is professional and helpful. The hotel's manager, Ms. Margot Fenton, has the knack of putting together a great hospitality team, and keeping them on point. As for the facility itself, as always, it has what you need. A large clean quiet well stocked room with a comfy bed, a big widescreen TV, free WIFI, and great complimentary breakfast and breakfast room, and a cool restaurant, which is inside the hotel. Whenever I come back from my appointments, I never have trouble finding another good parking spot in their huge parking lot. Since it was raining a lot this visit, it was really nice to easily access the building.

"Nice until you find the mice"

Jaxkie123, Boston, Massachusetts, United States 27/09/2018

I stayed here last week (late September 2018) and was actually pleasantly surprised by the hotel lobby, rooms, and overall location. I even reached out to coworkers to let them know we could save money by staying here and not the Hilton, where everyone else was. My happiness went downhill when I found myself working at the desk at around 7PM and 2 mice came out to visit me. No food was out and I had been previously walking around and on the phone, etc, so I would categorize these mice as bold and pretty accustomed to being around guests. They ran around the room when I involuntarily jumped up on the chair and eventually went back under the heater in the corner of the room. This was a room on the top floor (6th), so I'm pretty sure this is isolated to one area of the building. I called the front desk and went back down to get a new room. Honestly, I don't know why I agreed to this since the mice are clearly on all floors, if theyre on the top floor. I was tired, most of the other hotels were booked out, so it was my best reasonable choice at the time. I am moderately disappointed that I didn't get much of an apology even, and the room I changed to was a floor down and the same kind of room. I would expect, at the very least, a guest would be upgraded when their room is invaded by mice? Maybe I expect too much. I know most other hotels would have comped the room, but I couldn't ask for that because the manager was nowhere to be found in the evening or the morning. I get that mice are everywhere but I'd recommend that the Best Western get an exterminator or something because this wasn't an event where in the middle of the night I *thought* I heard a squeak or something scutter on the floor. I literally saw two mice sniffing around me on the top floor. I'd also recommend that if mice are going to be part of the accomodations, you should probably provide a better kind of apology and actually return guest emails' and calls as this is unsanitary and crappy for a biz tech area.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear Jaxkie123, I cannot apologize enough for the mice you encountered. We are undergoing renovations at the hotel and the weather is getting colder. We have regular pest control done at the property and I assure you this issue was resolved . We are not an unsanitary property. I spoke to my staff the night the issue occurred. They assured me they apologized and moved you to another room. Please call or email me if this was not so because I was assured it was . As promised you were also given one night free. They corrected folio was emailed the email address we had on file. Unfortunately, you went through a third-party so it took a few days to give you back the money . Margot Fenton General Manager

"A good hotel with great balcony rooms "

Naynesh, New Delhi 27/09/2018

Stayed here 2 nights for business and booked directly with the hotel. Hotel staff upon check in was good , I checked in around 10 pm, got a room on the 5th floor with a Balcony. King bed was nice and comfortable. Bathroom was ok , the tub was dirty with some hair on the curtain. The issues are - no body wash in toilet , only shampoo and lotion. No heating kettle or any equipment for making hot water- other hotels in this category always give this. Upon asking they refused to give this. Also my bathroom had some smell after flushing - the water must be leaking . But they were ready to change the room upon request. Breakfast is good, nothing hot and fresh apart from porridge but more or less good options to start your day. Fitness centre is pretty good. I used it 2 times. Some funny hotel staff entered the gym while I was using and acted silly on the treadmill - I found this unprofessional . I booked for 5 nights but checked out early in 2 , they were courteous and did not charge me for nights not stayed. I would return but would ask them for better cleaning of bathrooms and curtain. Staff is overall good.

"Neat Modern Hotel , with good service, handy location"

Steve M, Brisbane, Australia 25/09/2018

A pleasure to stay at this hotel, rooms were large, and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was extensive. Also had a hot drinks area open all hours. Plenty of parking, and located in a quiet area.

"Beautiful Clean Great location"

Jeannie G, Middletown, New Jersey 20/09/2018

Stayed here for an overnight with the family for a Boston area event. The hotel was beautifully maintained and CLEAN . There is an onsite restaurant which we only got a chance to have desserts ( which were fantastic). I would definitely recommend this hotel and return if in the area again.

"Great Value/Gigantic Rooms"

Charles M, Asheville, North Carolina 18/09/2018

Probably the largest room I have ever stayed in. Big walk-in closet. Sofa, lounge chair with ottoman. Desk. Fast free wifi. Micro wave, fridge flat screen TV. Two free bottles of water. Smallish bathroom but excellent quality amenities and lots of towels. Business center and indoor pool that was closed for renovations. Shell gas station abuts the property. Can get limited take out snacks, beer etc. Not close to other restaurants or stores. They do have free van that runs in AM and PM within a three mile radius. There was a very popular restaurant/bar called the Copper House inside the hotel. Menu appeared to be extensive and reasonable. Did not try it. Good hot breakfast with eggs, meat, fresh fruit and lots more.Booked direct at BW website. At $99 a real bargain I would have given a 4.5 star if allowed.

"Waltham's Fawlty Towers"

shiftyryder, shiftyryder 14/09/2018

It's a vaguely ok hotel. Bed's a little lumpy and the location could be better....but nothing's worth the absolute contempt directed at customers and staff by the manager. Truly an awful woman, with real anger management issues. Even the contractors she hires have a screw loose (landscaper screamed about one of my group's long hair). There's some other value big-box hotels next door (Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott Courtyard). Stay at them.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear shiftyrider, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you and your rock band left minutes before the police arrived. It's unfortunate that even though you were asked multiple times on 2 seperate days to move your tour bus and attached trailer you chose to ignore those requests. We enjoyed our stay. the only thing is right now the pool was close .the staff was very nice. Our room was clean . the breakfast was O.k. I really wish they had chairs for the balcony. But rather than that we really did enjoy yourself

"It's a plus when you have Best Western PLUS in the name but would I come back?"

Diana Z, Syosset, New York 03/09/2018

Nice modern hotel with indoor pool under renovation. Big rooms with uncomfortable "over firm" mattress for both: sofa and king bed. Breakfast is good and include fresh fruits, but the coffee...bring your own Tasters Choice instant packs and it will definitely taste better! Will try to find another area hotel nearby.

"A deplorable staff"

User 28/08/2018

I am a travel agent and have booked this hotel with Expedia. I arrived with my group of 27 people and in booking among the many rooms they had to give a room with two double beds. The royal room instead had two very small beds and we requested an extra bed They wanted to charge us extra but we refused They called the police and police to be right for us. Eventually the manager got extra free bed but did not want to put this in the room out of spite The facility was nice but the staff bad and they held us back for many hours at the lobby and created a lot of stress Absolutely avoid this hotel

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear Stefano T, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. However, you booked and received the rooms you requested. The police had to be called because 27 people refused to leave the lobby and they kept yelling at my staff. They were frightening the two front desk agents who then called me at home. I spoke to the Waltham police when they arrived. In order to help I provided your group with a number of free rollaway beds. You would have been charged over $125.00 had I not waived the fee. You had 4 adults in each room with 2 adults sleeping in one full size bed. Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

"Second chance regret"

User 22/08/2018

I was not that happy with my first stay at this hotel but decided to give it another chance, mainly due to location. I ended up regreting my stay. The bathroom was not in complete working order, the tub showed obvious signs of wear, the room had a faint smell of urine, and the hot water took a long time to get hot in the sink. Complained to front desk and maintenance. Although my complaint was not ignored, nothing could be done about the complaint.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear 2ndRegreat, I am so sorry you had such a bad experience. Thank you for your feedback. I have talked to the Housekeeping Manager. Please call the hotel so that we may discuss your stay. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

"Always have a great experience here"

sippinshiraz, Seattle, Washington 23/07/2018

I stay here 3-4 times a year for business. My stay is always exceptional. With the Copper House Tavern onsite, it makes the stay very enjoyable. They have excellent food and service. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable as well.

"Recently remodeled, very pleasant"

Bob F, Clifton Park, New York 22/07/2018

This hotel was recently remodeled, and our king bed room seemed larger than a standard hotel room. The pool isn't finished, but everything else was completed modern and up to date. Good breakfast buffet (I liked the small western omelet) We didn't use it, but the attached restaurant with bar looked nice. Menu priced weren't outrageous. All in all I was very happy with it. Recommended.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear Bob F, Thank you for the great review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Please come see us again when the pool renovation is complete. It is going to look fantastic. "Pool not available, but no refund"

pewterdragon80, Belchertown, Massachusetts 20/07/2018

We planned a trip in boston for the day and decided to stay here for the night and let the kids have fun in the pool instead of driving 2 hours back home. I booked the room a month before the trip was planned. We arrive and discover the pool was closed for renovations until the fall. I had no knowledge of this and that was the ONLY reason for staying here. I cancelled my reservation. My refund was denied. The Manager was only available by email. The staff supposedly did not have a actually phone number for her, which I found highly unusual. I argued to the staff about what they would do if there was an emergency? They said depending on the emergency, they have people for that. I'm incredibly frustrated with the lack of customer service, and will not book here again.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western Plus Waltham Boston, responded to this review
Dear pewterdragon80, I'm sorry but the pool has been posted online on Best Western and on every third party site since last March. My phone number is listed on my business card located on the front desk and I can be reached easily through the hotel switchboard. If you wish to discuss this further please call me at the property. I'd be glad to discuss this issue with you. Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

updates fine. still old hotel with standard old features: thin walls & windows, portable a/c units, etc. not bad, but would stay at a cheaper place outside waltham or pay premium for newer place in waltham

"All that you need in one place!"

eam237, Freeport, Maine 15/07/2018

As everyone knows, hotels in Boston are expensive. Parking is often extra, free bottles of water are seldom provided, and recreational walking and running consists of footing it along the crowded city sidewalks. If you are looking for a place to stay, whether it's for a vacation, event, business, or for medical reasons, I strongly recommend the Best Western Plus in Waltham. After spending hours searching the Internet for something affordable with ample free parking, restaurants, and a place to walk or run; I found it! This Best Western Plus has all of this to offer and more. The hotel is located right off 95 and the drive to downtown Boston is easy and reasonably fast. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The included hot buffet breakfast offers a good variety of options, free bottles of water are provided daily, and for those who like to sit outside, some rooms have private balconies where one can watch the sun rise and set. If you are traveling with children, or if you like to swim, there is an indoor pool that is currently being renovated and due to reopen in October. If you are concerned about nearby room noise or the buzz of traffic, it is not an issue as the rooms are very quiet. Conveniently attached to the hotel is a popular bar and restaurant that serves great meals at a reasonable price and there are also several more to choose from within a walking or driving distance. Nearby is a grocery store, a few shops, and for those who like to walk or play, there is a park just around the corner from the hotel. Staff members are very friendly and the manager, Margot Fenton, goes out of her way to introduce herself and immediately attends to any needs that you might have, while working to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. We have stayed here several times now and will continue to do so without hesitation. As an added bonus, Best Western has an excellent rewards program…check it out!

"Very affordable and easy access to Boston"

markbarger2018, Raleigh, North Carolina 13/07/2018

*Best hot and cold breakfast. Eggs, seasoned hasbrowns, sausage/bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit including pineapple, grapefruit, strawberries and it never ran out. *10 min drive to subway station, $7 parking per day and easily 15 minute ride into Boston on the Red Line. *Easy access to I-95, safe area, downtown Waltham just 5 mins away with good selection of restaurants. * Only disappoint is the pool is closed for reconstruction.

"Don't Stay Here!"

joanbQ435VE, Cranford 01/07/2018

By nature, I am a very patient person, but this hotel made me lose my composure. I booked a reservation at this hotel several months ago through I immediately received my confirmation via email from When I arrived at the Best Western Plus in Waltham, MA, registration the clerk could not find my reservation. I had a confirmation from, which I showed the clerk, but she could not find the reservation on her computer. I was left standing there for at least 10 minutes before she requested assistance from another registration clerk who proved just as inept. Finally, after another 15 additional minutes of waiting, I was provided with a room, which was sub-standard. I made the mistake of giving them a second chance by thinking my previous experience may have been an anomaly and booked a room for last night again through I booked the room 3 weeks ago and received an email confirmation from Hotels. com. Yesterday at 3:00 pm, I received a voicemail message from Best Western Plus in Waltham, MA stating they would not hold my reservation for that evening because they claimed my credit card was not going through. I called my credit card company and they assured me there was no issue with my card. I called Best Western Plus back and was placed on hold for 10 minutes. I couldn't continue to hold anymore and finally hung up. I then went to's website and found the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA had available rooms. I called the Best Western Plus back to tell them I was so frustrated with how I was treated that I was canceling my reservation. I then made my reservation at the Westin through I then called Hotel. com to let them know how badly I have been treated by Best Western Plus in Waltham, MA, and that I told them I was canceling my reservation. Rose, the representative, told me she would have to call Best Writing Plus to get a refund on the cancellation. She told me at that Best Western Plus refused to grant the refund. I will NEVER book a reservation at this hotel and would strongly advise everyone who reads this to do the same.

"Clean and right off the highway"

MrAce44, New Haven, Connecticut 01/07/2018

Stayed one night here this past weekend and there isn't much to complain about. The hotel was very nice and clean and had a tavern attached witch made grabbing a bite to eat convenient. The room had a fridge and microwave and was very clean. There was easy access to the highway. The pool and hot tub were closed for renovations which kinda bugged me, especially on 4th of July weekend but I forgot my bathing suit anyway... Breakfast in the morning was good, website was deceiving as they make it sound as if breakfast was a sit down serving you affair, it's not. You serve yourself, they have eggs, cereal, toast and all the classic hotel free breakfast foods. There was no bacon which kind of ticked me off but I'll survive. Would deifently go back again

"Bumpy but good"

User 18/06/2018

Computer glitch add our checkin a bit long but was compensated with free breakfast. Rooms were clean and hotel is dog friendly! Great place to stay when in Needham. Bistro food is excellent given the size of the kitchen. Location is great for soccer tournaments.

"Is it a hotel or a bar/restaurant?"

John S, Wood River, Illinois 10/06/2018

We arrived on a Thursday to find no place to park. The bar/restaurant that adjoins the hotel was having a promotion called Thirsty Thursday and all parking was being taken by patrons of the bar/restaurant. Patrons of this bar/restaurant were even parking in the lots of other nearby hotels. Complaints to the front desk fell on deaf ears. The hot items in their breakfast were not hot due to an AC register blowing directly on them. In the room we had the bathroom was unusually small mainly due to an unneeded walk-in closet behind it. Our room backed up to the elevator and every time the elevator was used you could hear it running. The wifi connection was slow and on Friday morning we could not connect and had to use our LTE service. Again complaints about the wifi connection fell on deaf ears and were met with denial. The hotel had no vending machines to purchase drinks etc. Instead they had what they called the Sundries Express which had outrageous prices. We would not stay at this hotel again if the room was free.

"Ugh! Won't stay here again"

rapunzel18, New Hyde Park 09/06/2018

This Best Western is the worst we've ever stayed in. We were there at the end of March, 2018, and we found that the staff was not particularly friendly and the hotel was falling apart. First, when we wanted to bathe the bath fixture wouldn't pull out so we couldn't have a bath.. Second, there was something wrong with the thermostat so we were roasting all night since it was not adjustable. The next day we asked for another room but they were booked up so we were stuck sweating it out again in that room. Awful! We tried several times to call the Genl Manager, Margot, to get an adjustment to our bill but she never returned our call. Then we called the central Best Western Customer Service who said "they don't know what's wrong with that location." We didn't hear back from them either. Finally, after a month, we called again and heard there was another manager named Jason whom we called. No response back. This Best Western is an abomination!

"Solid Best Western"

NewYork5family, new york 09/06/2018

Clean, comfortable with decent breakfast for a quick stay. Bathroom is small but sufficient. Would stay here again for a night or two if in the area. They are refurbishing the pool so it was closed when we were there.

"Charged me 10 times the room rate!!"

eastc0astlifer, New York City, New York 27/05/2018

I received a "SPECIAL DEAL!" promotion from $31 to stay at Best Western Waltham on a particular date. Although the date (and location outside Boston) was somewhat inconvenient for me, I booked it, received the confirmation, and planned a whole trip, including buying nonrefundable train tickets. I have stayed in this hotel in the past at a similar discount rate -- $26. One week later, they contacted me saying they would not honor that rate since it was "obviously a mistake" and sent me a bill for $310.00 -- considerably MORE than their standard room rate. When I spoke to the hotel rep, they said was responsible. When I spoke to, they said the hotel was responsible. Nobody apologized nor offered any suggestion of how to fix their error. The only reason I planned the trip in the first place was because of the deal that they explicitly told me about!

"A terrific find! Quality and value!"

bert21_10, Seaford, New York 10/05/2018

We were very satisfied with our recent stay for my son's college graduation in Cambridge at BW Waltham Plus. The accommodations were wonderful and the hotel had many amenities. We had the opportunity to try the lounge/bar for a late night snack which was a treat! Staff could not be friendlier or more welcoming! Highly recommend.

"A Good Hotel Becomes a Great Hotel."

4readers, Teaneck, New Jersey 29/04/2018

I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and was impressed by the cleanliness, and the helpful staff. Aside from this, this hotel now stands out even more, because of the breakfast it includes wit the stay. While I've stayed at many hotels, this in the only one that comes to mind that considers the health of it's guests. The breakfast choices include fresh cut fruit, yogurt (incuding sugar free), whole grain bread options, and a wide variety of nutrtious hot and cold dishes (too numerous to mention). I thank Margot Fenton for making these changes, and for listening to guests, and running a hotel that makes their comfort and satisfaction, her first priority.

"No Coin/Laundry at this location!"

Viraj S, Short Hills, New Jersey 25/04/2018

No Coin/Laundry at this location and you need to go to a laundromat 5 miles away and waste your time sitting in front of a washer/dryer rather than be able to do it from the comfort of a hotel room while on trip/vacation. Had to change hotels as a result and waste one whole day due to check-out and check-in process and pay for an extra day too.

"Another Boston Marathon in the books!"

Romanello C, San Gabriel, United States 23/04/2018

I'm reluctant to share my experience, since I'm sure that doing so will let the "cat out of the bag" for next year's marathoners. This hotel is a hidden gem. For many Boston marathoners, they prefer to stay in downtown Boston, for the sake of convenience to the Runner's Expo, and the Shuttle pick-up at the Commons, to the race start in Hopkinton. I prefer staying a bit away from downtown, for the peace and quiet. I normally stay in Foxboro, but they have jacked up their prices this year. So after a bit of homework, I found what looked too good to be true - a hotel between Boston and Hopkinton that not only had availability (I got a late jump on making a reservation), but offered a very reasonable rate. As you may know, if you want the "privilege" of staying in downtown Boston during the marathon, you ARE going to pay a premium ($300-$500 per night). After reading many of their reviews, I picked up the phone and called the front desk. I like dealing directly with the hotel, since the booking agencies have a plethora of contingencies that require reading ALL the fine print, lest you incur unexpected charges. When I called the hotel, I was greeted with a warm and friendly voice (writing this from the library, so I don't have the name of the desk clerk handy). I don't know about you, but I often make my decision as to whether or not I'm going to book a reservation, based on how that initial phone call goes. If they're pleasant, they're on the way to winning my business. If they seem too busy to help me, that's usually the end of my dealings with that hotel. They (he) proceeded to ask my travel dates, and double-checked availability. (I had already checked this online, to make sure they were not sold out.) Booking was simple and straightforward. I had a few special requests (extra pillows, quiet room), and he make the necessary notes in my reservation. He reviewed the cancellation policy, thanked me for my business, and we parted "company." Shortly thereafter, I received a confirmation email. A few days before arriving, I received another email, offering a pre-welcome, and providing the details of my reservation. Nice touch. I had a late flight from California to Boston Logan, with a change of planes in Indianapolis. After securing my rental car, I arrived at the hotel around midnight. A very "smiley" clerk welcomed me. This is a 6-floor hotel, and I noticed that I had been assigned a 4th floor room. I told him that, when I made the reservation, I had asked for a top floor. He said that they were sold out for the night, (and probably because of my late check-in), no top floor rooms were available. I told him, as long as it's a quiet room... no worries. He also checked the following day's reservations, and found a top floor available, saying I could switch rooms in the morning, for the remainder of my stay. He added a note for the A.M> clerk, to assist in the change. Turns out - the room was so quiet, I had no need to switch, and cancelled the request the following morning. Needless to say, upon my initial arrival, I was tired, AND hungry. I asked the night clerk if anything was still open at this hour. He said to go drop my bags in my room, and he would print out the names and locations of a few places that were still serving food. When I returned to the desk, he had researched several options for me. I chose a Chinese restaurant that was open till 2. Turns out (as he had said, though in my fatigue, I had missed his comment) they deliver to the hotel. No worries - it was close enough, that the short drive was of no consequence. After quite a tasty seafood lo mein dinner, I headed back to the hotel. I was asleep within 5 minutes. The next sound I heard was someone checking out next door. It was around 11 a.m. A solid night's sleep! OK, long story short from here on out... I drove to the Runner's Expo in downtown Boston that day. In and out of the city nice and smoothly. Came back and relaxed in my room for a couple hours. Went downstairs to check with the desk for a good Italian restaurant nearby, to carboload for the marathon. The clerk suggested the in-house restaurant - The Copperhouse Tavern. OMG... the food is out of this world! A moderately priced menu, with a definite gourmet touch. My dad was an executive chef, so I know what I'm talking about. The staff was attentive and cordial. The food is simply not to be missed. Last comment: As you might imagine, I was pretty exhausted after Monday's marathon. The weather was CRAZY... mid-40's, pounding rain, and winds ranging from 10-30 m.p.h. Once I got back to the hotel, and after a LONG, HOT shower, I headed down to the desk. You guessed it - I wanted to ask for a late checkout. Since I was actually requesting a "late, late" checkout, the clerk said she would have to speak with the hotel manager. From the back office, came the manager. She introduced herself - Margot Fenton. I explained my "situation," and the fact that I had a late flight out of Logan. Without further explanation on my part, and without hesitation on hers, she said, "Absolutely. I'm happy to help you." In a world where policy usually supersedes kindness, I am here to say that, in this case, the latter has prevailed. Margot, I am grateful for the goodness that you and your staff demonstrated to me. By the way, I gave a pair of my running shoes to one of your warm-hearted housekeeping crew members. It was the least I could do for a team that took care of my every need from start to finish. You have certainly earned my business when I next visit Boston... which at a minimum will be for the 2019 Marathon. I just hope I can book a room, before you sell out. Maybe I should make my reservation NOW! How far in advance do you book?

"Boston Baseball Trip"

Mike H, tallahassee, United States 23/04/2018

Convenient location off the interstate. Easily accessible to historic and sports venues for quick trips to revolutionary battlefields, Lexington & Concord, as well as Boston College and Fenway Park. Hotel was a very clean property with great restaurant, food & service. Staff was always available to provide directions to venues and offer insight into local options beyond the property.

"Convenient and Comfortable"

Myrna B, Huntington Beach, California 22/04/2018

We booked one night at this hotel before heading out to Cape Cod for a week. It was easy to get to from the airport and had plenty of free parking. It was quiet, had a nice large room with a comfortable bed. Furnishings were nice. Bathroom was large. Check-In/Check-Out was easy and friendly. Breakfast was filling, but could use some improvement on being hot, and flavor was kind of meh. But there was plenty to choose from so you should be able to find something to your liking. I recommend this hotel.

"Smooth start to finish!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 18/04/2018

Stayed at the Best Western last week while in Waltham for appointments. I am always very happy when I make this choice. Things always run smoothly from start to finish. David at the front desk got me checked in very quickly, and couldn't have been more attentive to making sure I had a comfortable stay. This was no surprise, since I have stayed here many times, and all of General Manager Margot Fenton's staff approach their business in a professional and thoughtful manner. If you need to travel to this area, I think you'll be quite pleased if you make this hotel the lodging part of your trip. The staff is polite, approachable and accommodating, and the rooms have everything you'd expect for a satisfying stay. There is a great in-house restaurant, and other nice ones nearby to the hotel. You won't have a long walk with your luggage when you get there, because there is voluminous free parking all around the hotel. Also, check out the complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast. Thank you Margot and Best Western Rich P.

"It's OK, good value"

powershopper, CT 15/04/2018

The breakfast was surprisingly OK. The room was large, but when other guests slammed their doors shut, the silence was broken. Why is it so difficult to make a door close quietly? All hotels have the same issue.

"Service the way it is supposed to be"

Viking46, Parksville BC 04/04/2018

Very pleasantly surprised that a small restaurant like this didn't have lineups. We had reservations just in case, but on a weekday it was not crowded at all. A very extensive menu with steak and lobster tail as the feature. I had the feature and Mrs. had the chicken dish. Wine by the glass was reasonable and good. White tablecloths, heavy glass wine glasses, and hefty cutlery with candlelight made for a romantic quiet dinner for two. Loved it. For $35 it was not a large steak nor a large tail, but both were a fair size and combined made for a full meal. The chicken dish was substantial and Mrs. had to take her time eating it all (she said it was so good she was not going to leave any behind). Service was attentive and not overpowering with some banter thrown in for humour. I would come here again and have anything on the menu as the table next to us had a combination of ribs and lamb with a bottle of very good wine (didn't act as a boor to ask what wine - but they both raved about it to each other). Cost wise, maybe a little on the higher side but well worth it in quality and quantity. Such that we did not leave room for dessert this time - it will have to wait for another visit.

"Weekend visit to spend Easter with our children at college"

Maureen C, Massapequa, New York 03/04/2018

Best Western Waltham is our top choice to stay when visiting Boston! We were in Boston for the Easter weekend visiting our kids at college and once again had a great stay! The front desk is always welcoming, the rooms are clean, comfy beds, and exceptional service! We love that there is always water in the room waiting for us--at no additional charge! Breakfast buffet is excellent-- fresh fruit, yogurts, hot entrees as well as juices and coffee/tea all met with pleasant smiles from the help. We didn't visit the tavern on premise this time--but ventured into town for some local food. Front desk was wonderful with directions and recommendations. Looking forward to my next trip in May! Maureen, John and family

"Good for a short stay outside Boston, but close to everything in town"

TieKing, New York City, New York 30/03/2018

The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was actually very good for what it was. The room was large and comfortable. They gave us water bottles everyday. Even though we didn't really use the fridge and microwave, it was nice to have them. Having the Copper House Tavern attached was great since we arrived late and didn't want to travel around for dinner. The food was good too! The negatives are the bathroom was small and had a mildew smell. The pool was closed. Overall it was a great place for a short stay.

"Great value for the price"

Teresa B, Bangor, Maine 26/03/2018

The room was clean and comfortable. This was the best breakfast I have ever had in a value-priced hotel. There was a large variety of offerings, including fresh fruit and a greta coffee bar. I would definitely stay here again.

"Don't Book room 510"

User 26/03/2018

Room 510 noise from the elevator was awful - running all day and all night. Staff was not helpful in trying to relocate us to another room. Reservation was made 2 months in advance. Plus pool was closed. Would not book again.

"getaway weekend"

User 19/03/2018

This was the second time staying here. Hotel was in great location for our needs. Hotels was clean. The restaurant on the premises made it convenient for meals. They had coffee and tea available all day which was a definite plus.

"Good location , clean new rooms & a great breakfast"

GMA1203, Cambridge, Massachusetts 14/03/2018

The hotel has been upgraded & is very nice. The offer a coffee bar all day . The front desk was very nice &. Able to check us into our room early. The rooms are very clean & offer lots of outlets for charging electronics. ( They do have a pool but we did not use it but always nice to have when you have the kids along ) The Complementary breakfast was excellent. They offer hot & cold options ; eggs, breakfast sausages, muffins , toast English muffins , pancakes & the best part for me- REAL fresh fruit. It is very close to Interstate 95 . We would recommend this hotel & would stay here again

"Comfortable moderate hotel"

MHCNH, New England 13/03/2018

Stayed two nights while touring local colleges. The location is perfect for access to the highway to get to schools, restaurants, and the huge Burlington Mall. The breakfast buffet was better than average for this category of hotel. Lots of fresh fruit, plenty of yogurt (even Greek!), a variety of pastries, eggs, and meat daily. The coffee/tea station is wonderful with plenty of flavor and sweetener options. Also a great restaurant downstairs where you can sit at the bustling bar, join friends at a table, or order take-out and carry right upstairs to your room (which we enjoyed in our PJs). I would definitely stay here again.

"Had a great stay"

TnBB, Boothbay, Maine 13/03/2018

Stayed here recently and very pleased, room, restaurant, breakfast, pool, everything was pleasant and clean and we had a great stay, staff was very friendly and professional, would definitely stay here again, had a great dinner at the attached restaurant which was seemed very popular

"Not Family Friendly!!"

User 11/03/2018

Beware! Do Not Stay Here with Kids! Not Family Friendly!!! A strict racial divide amongst the staff as well that was nothing I want my kids to see. The staff was horrible. I figured a Best Western was a family place, so I booked for a hockey tournament nearby. The place was filled with kids from the tournament. Even so, the kids were pretty good and the hotel was pretty quiet. Nothing like my trips to family destination hotels like Legoland, Disney, etc. Here, instead of kids, I heard the staff yelling a lot. They man-handled a child they didn't know outside my room who was in tears and I had to interfere. But boy did I hear the very little girl sobbing in the lobby telling her mom that a lady had yelled at her for, "pushing all the buttons on the elevator," which she swore she didn't do. I heard the same woman on my floor yelling at the boys in the hall for the exact same thing about ten minutes earlier. They swore in front of the kids and really frightened them. These people should not be around children. I will never stay there again and will think twice before staying at any Best Western because I witnessed such scary behavior by a woman who claimed to be a housekeeping manager. It was even more disturbing that she was white and her staff was all of color. I am sure that the children picked up on this along with her bullying of children. Disgusting all around.

"Very good hotel"

User 08/03/2018

I stayed two nights here for a business trip. It was very clean, comfortable, nice staff, with good free breakfast which I think was little better than similar cases. Free internet was not bad. There was some noise from nearby constructions though at night.

Dear Hamed, Thank you for your nice review. I hope you choose to stay with us again in the future. Thank You Margot F

"Pleasant Stay"

Mark B, White Plains, New York 06/02/2018

All was fine. Pleasant staff. Good restaurant off lobby with large selection and good service. Good location, easy to get to. Room was large and clean. Only issue was hearing the garbage truck at 5:30am

"A Best Western Upgrade"

User 21/01/2018

Generally, peoplethink of Best Western as a bare bones chain hotel. This BW has been upgraded on several levels. It has made it's breakfast room far more attractive than it used to be and its breakfast offerings are also better than they used to be. There are 6 kinds of cold cereal including 3 labelled as glocose free. There is pretty decent hot oatmeal(not instant out of a package-just add hot water etc). The rooms have all been renovated and are quite attractive, and a nice thing is that most of the rooms have windows that open. There is an attractive swimming pool with a handicap access seat for lowering people into the water. There is also a new excercise room. The hotel openned a new restaurant last year, the Copper House, which is a very nice bar and hamburger style restaurant which serves all meals and is quite reasonable and the food is good as well. Its not your grandfather's Best Western and its prices are still reasonable compared with the other chain hotels in Waltham.

"Never stay here"

User 20/01/2018

First room the bathroom door didn't latch or stay closed. The changed us to another room where the floor was unevenn, like wavy, and smelled of burned wires and the heater sounded awful. Third room we spent the night in. The heater turned on every 2 minutes even set at 61 and the room was at least 75. We canceled our second night. The staff was helpful and refunded for our second night. Breakfast was ok but coffee was awful.

"What the...?"

AlienNoir, Atlanta, Georgia 17/01/2018

My experience there was horrible and embarrassing to say the least: Rooms: The rooms give you the basics that you would get anywhere else. The only fancy thing in the hotel is the restaurant that is adjacent to the front desk. The Incident: I came in early from another hotel as they were sold out and I could not extend my stay, so I booked this hotel as I have stayed here maybe twice before. I work in the wholesale industry where I travel between China, the US, and Canada quite often, and I was leaving for China the next day so I figured I would check in here since Boston's prices were pure lunacy at the time. I wasn't able to check in until12:30p as I was in a rush to head back downtown. I had a meeting with a potential client so I even asked if I could just check my bags. The clerk suddenly said that there was a room available and I took it. We made small talk, she even asked me what I did for a living (explained) and the other older woman seemed somewhat impressed, but in a condescending way, which I took as envy (but that's neither here nor there). I went up to my room that was at the very end of the hallway, and set up my laptop, threw my bag on the bed and called an Uber. Waltham is kind of in the boonies so I had to wait a while for them to show up. I left the hotel around 12:40p I didn't see anyone at the front desk because they often leave the front desk to check rooms. I returned to the hotel around 2:30p and still no one was at the front desk. I got a phone call from a woman who was finally ready to purchase an order, but she told me she was in Hartford on business and that her husband could drop off the money for her since they live in the area. (She didn't have time to deposit it and he didn't know how to do a bank to bank wire transfer, so I told her that cash would be fine and he could drop it off.) I met them before and trusted them so I felt it was okay. He arrived at the hotel and unbeknownst to me, she didn't give him the correct hotel room number as I sent it hastily and it was wrong. I sent her the correct number and he came in to give me her payment and confirm mailing information as they have recently moved. It took about 10 minutes. I went back to my computer and received a Skype call from my web developer, which I was patiently waiting for (they're in India btw), when I heard a knock on my door. I figured it was her husband coming back to ask questions or want a printed receipt. This was at 3p. It was the cops. I opened the door and they looked at me confused. I asked if I could help them and they asked for my name. I answered and they told me that the hotel management wanted me escorted off the premises... I stood there for a second and asked why? The police officer answered: "I think you know why." I asked to speak to the management and was refused, so I put on my shoes and my unpacked luggage and told my developer that I would contact him tomorrow(which turned into 3 days later). I walked out of the room and the other police officer in the hallway asked me who I was talking to. I answered, my developer for my website. "What kind of website?" he asked and gave me a look as if it was something menacing. I opened my computer back up and showed him the back end of my wholesale website and gave him my card, telling him if he wanted to open a business, I'm the woman with connections overseas. His partner checked the room and asked if anyone else had been there. I told them my clients husband dropped off a payment for her hair order. I was waiting for my developer, so I didn't have time to run downstairs and potentially miss his call. The partner whispered in his ear and we walked off. The clerk at front desk didn't speak to me, she only told the cops to have a good evening and shot me a dirty look. That's when it hit me. They thought I was a lady of the night. They also lied and said that I was there all day with different men coming to and fro, which wasn't true AT ALL! I left around 12:42p was gone until 2:30p the cops came at 3p I was only there for 30 minutes really and that is CLEARLY not my line of work. I have a huge following on social media and would never jeopardize that or my life with my family(husband and son) for some mess like that. This brought me back to the conversation the front desk clerk had with me. Of the two times i had stayed before, she never asked me what I did for a living, we barely spoke except for the basic rhetoric of her job. What a horrible experience, I would never wish this on my worst enemy. Money lost, time wasted. Thank goodness I was going to China the following day.

"A great place to stay"

Joyce S, New York 14/01/2018

A most comfortable place to stay, quiet, comfortable, that serves a generous complimentary breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room. Has a swimming pool. Very centrally located in a Boston suburb, convenient to all local major arteries. A quiet setting despite convenience to roads. Have stayed here at least 3 times, and is the first place I search when headed to Boston area. Very accommodating and friends front desk staff.

"Clean, convenient, quiet, affordable"

User 11/01/2018

Needed a place to stay while between homes - there are many comparable hotels in this specific area. The Best Western offered the most competitive pricing. Hotel features free breakfast, an attached restaurant/bar, pool, gym, daily housekeeping, and free in-room wifi. My stay was extended due to unforeseen circumstances and manager on duty at the time offered me discount for the additional nights which was a) unexpected, and b) very very much appreciated. Great hotel. Would highly recommend.

"Another Great Night"

Lynne R, Raymond, United States 09/01/2018

My job is at a retirement community close to the Best Western in Waltham, MA and I have a 70 mile commute to and from home in NH each day. In inclement weather, I sometimes choose to stay overnight, as I did last Thursday because of the big snowstorm in New England.. It's like a home away from home for me. Staff and management are wonderful. Rooms so very nice and beds are luxuriously comfortable.

"getaway near my work"

Pinehurstt, Boston, Massachusetts 04/01/2018

We booked a room on a Saturday night near my work. The price was great!!! We did use the restaurant on property the food and service were very nice. Very convenient The room was fine and had all that we needed. The toilet in the bathroom did seem very low. If that is a problem ask for an accessible room. We booked so that my hubby and little girl could enjoy the pool and breakfast while I went to work Sunday. The pool was a good size but the pool area was freezing!!! It felt like the ac was on. We did let the front desk know a few times. Not sure what was going on . Pool was a good size but we could not really use it due to the temperature in the room . The breakfast was good. I liked that they had coffee and tea in the lobby all the time. The location is very good. Near the highway and other restaurants too. Gas station nearby too. They were opening a new gym downstairs that looked nice. We did not use it ( not open when we were there ) We would go back but would check on pool first.

My husband and I enjoyed this hotel very much. It was very clean. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We didn't get a chance to swim in the pool, but it was very presentable and clean. We enjoyed the free parking also.

"Well Managed, High Quality, Low Cost"

zzzzzxzz, Olympia, Washington 31/12/2017

Stayed 30 nights. The manager Margo Fenton helped with extended stay arrangements creating an excellent overall value. The rooms are clean, well equipped with a desk, comfortable beds and bedding. Fast, reliable internet. Well prepared breakfast buffet. New, state of the art gym. Big pool for a medium sized hotel. Lots of free parking. Plus a very nice pub and restaurant on site. Easy reservations and check out. Only thing missing for a long term stay is a washer and dryer. They have laundry service but that pretty expensive at any hotel.

"A Great Place to Stay"

Ellen R, Woodbridge, United States 22/12/2017

A really wonderful hotel in the Boston/Waltham area; convenient to 128/I-95, comfortable rooms, free wifi and free parking, an excellent hot morning breakfast, an excellent restaurant, and a brand new fitness center. But the best part is the staff; everyone we met from the front desk clerks, to the maids, to the breakfast staff, to the general manager, were all professional, friendly, and helpful. We'll be back when we visit the Boston area again!

User 20/12/2017

Stayed at this hotel for a local family funeral. they were very accommodating and made our stay pleasant. we enjoyed the food in the restaurant with hardly any wait time for table or food. this is a must stay for local and affordable. BW tlc offers just as much as the others.

"Comfortable stay with friendly staff"

User 18/12/2017

I was very pleasantly surprised with how nice this stay was. I only needed a room for a single night, and wasn't looking for much. The room was very comfortable (the beds in particular were extremely inviting) and quiet. The staff was incredibly friendly and took time to make sure we were happy. The breakfast was a better spread than I've seen in many hotels and included a wide variety of delicious hot and cold options.

"Great weekend deal"

Chuck T, Plymouth, Massachusetts 10/12/2017

Nice place, close to the highway, has a restaurant on site. Very inexpensive for weekends. Staff friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast had decent choices and tasted good. I just slept there so I didn't use anything other than breakfast for amenities.

"Very pleasant stay!"

NicATL, Atlanta 08/12/2017

Stayed here in October before our cruise. The hotel is approximately 30 minute drive from Boston, but well worth it! The room was very spacious and clean. The restaurant downstairs was very convenient and has a great menu. We appreciated the front desk staff as well.....very professional and helpful....especially Carol! Thank you for a great stay....great start to our cruise vacation!!!

"Great value"

Karen N, colchester, United States 03/12/2017

This hotel was in a great location for my conference. The restaurant was good with a really good beer on tap selection! The room was avarage, but clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a little noisy. Overall, it was a great bang for my buck!! The room was $89 for the night!!!

"Nice, clean hotel equipped with friendly, helpful staff."

User 01/12/2017

My overall experience from the hotel was very positive. The beds were a little hard, but still much better than expected, especially for a hotel. There was a huge breakfast buffet in the main lobby, that served many freshly cooked foods including, but not limited to: waffles, bacon, sausage, even a self serve pancake machine! They also serve a variety of fresh fruits, juices, smaller candies, and yogurts! My last and final thing I should mention about the hotel is the amount of luxury you receive inside the room. You get a 38 inch TV screen with all of the sports channels included, as well as a fairly large mini-fridge, and last but not least, a one-cup coffee pot located inside your own room. Not only do you get complimentary Wolfgang Puck coffee and condiments included with a room, you can also have concierges deliver more coffee pouches straight to your room. They have both regular and decaf options. This is super nice to have in a hotel room. Honestly, I don't have much bad to say about the hotel. It is even in a prime location too, about 15 min. from Boston! I could absolutely recommend this hotel to any friend who wishes to travel to Boston. Overall review: 5/5

Staff was friendly and helpful with getting us around and all things we needed. Place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was convenient and had lots of variety. The Copper House Tavern was really good as well. Pool was great for keeping my son busy on our down time. Great location to everything. Would recommend.

Excellent hotel from the drive up, the complete stay and the drive away. Hotel staff was very courteous and very helpful with directions od the area. Breakfast was also great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Boston area.

"Convenience of hotel"

anthonybR479OI, Staten Island, New York 20/11/2017

The Waltham BW is very convenient location wise. The city of Waltham has a good walking area and many stores and restaurants are nearby. The Burlington mall is a short ride away. The hotel itself is quiet and in the morning you have a buffet breakfast to enjoy before you continue on your way.

Worst Hotel experience of my life. Multiple missing reservations leaving family members out in the cold with no hotel rooms during our time of grief. No Hotel Manger for days at a time. The General Manger Margot Fenton should be fired ! Stay away from this Hotel.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear emoryk673, I am sorry that had such a bad experience at the hotel during your time of grief. I understand that you are angry. However, your reservations were booked individually and not as a group. We were almost sold out at that time and we reserved what rooms we had left to the guests who called while we still had availability. I apologize for the confusion and I am sorry that you were so upset that some of your family could not get rooms. In regards to management. Jason, my Front office Manager was available as I was away on business. Other management was also on property. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel

"Great Value"

marybalasa322, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 13/11/2017

This hotel was clean and comfortable. My husband and I were here for 2 nights to visit family in the area. Requested and received early check in which was great. The breakfast was wonderful. The pool looked nice but didn't have time to enjoy it. The front desk woman was so helpful making recommendations for places to eat, directions and best ways using public transit into Boston. She was so patient with our many questions. Will stay here again!

P9557CTbrianc, Hope, NJ, United States 10/11/2017

I've stayed at this hotel in the past. Some things have improved, however the smell in the lobby and our guest room had a very displeasing odor. Smelled like spoiled chicken or something. Hopefully it will dissipate. Breakfast was good, though.

"Great stay in MA"

User 09/11/2017

Location was ideal for my commute to my company. The attached restaurant provided two excellent meals, great service and great patrons. Hotel pool was fantastic, perfect temperature very surprised no one else was using it, gym was small, although all the essentials were there. Staff were great, utilizing a free shuttle to the train station. Breakfast was OK, hot and cold. Surprised they were blasting CNN at breakfast, requested to turn it down, upsetting my Cornflakes.

"The customer does not come first at this hotel."

User 02/11/2017

Desk staff were disinterested and not attentive, especially at night, long waits to get answers at the desk on several occasions and the GM was very rude. Rates for rooms are misleading. Nothing is worse than seeing advertised rates for the same night posted for much less than what you were charged. Advertised rate on Trip Advisor was $129.00, which we got for one night and the other night was posted at $295.00. Yes, Boston is an expensive city however the differential is unwarranted for the value received for a second rate hotel. The GM could care less.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Linda C, I'm sorry that you were upset because I did not change the rate that you booked online. Rates change daily in the hospitality business and the rate that was advertised was the rate that you received. This area is very busy and we are competitive with the area hotels. I apologize for any inconvenience that you experienced. Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

nice enough, clean room, good breakfast - only problem, was promised a sofa bed -- no sofa, therefore no sofa bed. I like the breakfast and apparently the hotel restaurant and bar is quite good as was very busy.

"Seemed ok"

greeneyedlustr, Waterford, Connecticut 17/10/2017

Stayed at this hotel last night. The bar and restaurant attached to the hotel was nice. The lamb burger was very good. The room was spacious and seemed Put together well. There was a little mold in the shower and there were big stains on the carpet in my room. My room was right next to the elevators. I recommend avoiding this type room. The head of the bed was against the elevator wall and that is all I heard literally all night long. This did not make for good sleep. The breakfast was good and there seemed be a variety in foods. I think if it had been a different room It might have been a better stay.

"Very nice Waltham hotel"

The hotel is very nice. It's clean and quiet. I didn't use the pool, but it looked very good (and the families seemed to be enjoying it). I did use the restaurant, and it's excellent -- some healthy choices for food, and a pretty good wine list and beer list. The room was very nice also. The complimentary bottles of water in the room were a very nice touch. It's also walking distance to some other restaurants.

Clean room, comfortable beds, no noise through the walls, good spread for breakfast included in the room. We arrived late and had no issues checking in. Front desk staff polite. Convenient to highway.

"Thank You Best Western!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 09/10/2017

Thank you Best Western! I had to travel to Waltham this past week for appointments and I stayed at the Best Western as I have in the past. As usual, it was a stress free and completely satisfying experience. The Best Western is just off the highway (rt. 95/128), and parking is always easy with spacious availability all around the hotel. The front desk clerk (Josh) got me checked in quickly and cordially, which is a blessing after five hours of traveling and heavy highway traffic. The room was very clean, comfortable and well stocked as usual. Whenever you need something, directions, a taxi, something you forgot to bring, etc., there is always a helpful & friendly response from the front desk. Of course this culture of superlative service does not happen by accident. General Manager Margot Fenton has assembled and developed a skilled hospitality staff, who take pride in what they do. Prime examples of this are Ruth, one of the Front Desk Supervisors, and Emerson in the breakfast room. They could not have been more helpful and accommodating to me during my current and previous visits. The complimentary breakfast was great, with omelets, bacon, assorted breads, muffins and bagels, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, assorted cereals, juices, coffees, etc. There is also a nice restaurant within the hotel (Copper House Tavern), which is a real plus for guests weary of traveling. I will be more than happy to continue to patronize this hotel. Thanks again Margot and Best Western! Rich P.

My wife and I stayed one night and found the hotel to be very nice and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and room was in good working order and clean. "A Little Smile Goes a Long Way"

MTSNOLA, New Orleans, Louisiana 02/10/2017

The hotel, location, hot full breakfast, wi-fi service and parking were, as always, very good if not exceptional. I only wish the lady who checked us in with a name tag labeling her title as Front Desk Supervisor was more friendlier. But otherwise, I will stay at Best Westerns. I am totally satisfied with the service it provides.

"Great service!"

TeriMM, McKinney, Texas 01/10/2017

Service was outstanding. The manager went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. It's hard to find this kind of service in any hotel, even a five-star, top-dollar one. I will definitely stay here again.

Thank you for a clean quiet room with all the amenities we needed. Even though I came in late, my room was ready. The breakfast was great. The selection of food was surprising! If I'm in Boston again, I'll be back at this hotel.

Another great night's sleep last week. Incredibly comfortable beds at this hotel along with consistently excellent staff in all areas. Great restaurant on the property and wonderful continental breakfast provided as part of your stay. Management and staff are fabulous!

"Pros and Cons"

LKWendel, Westfield, New Jersey 23/09/2017

The hotel has an excellent location close to Boston, Waltham area and the north. We needed to be at all three locations over a few days and was happy with that. The hotel reception was very pleasant and efficient. We enjoyed working out in the gym and no one bothered us. My only negatives were 1. The coffee at breakfast was terrible! It was undrinkable. It was supposed to be Nescafé brand but it must have been watered down as I could not even drink it. 2) the toilet is situated unusually low to the grown so when you sit down you literary are shocked how much lower it is from the standard size, and 3) The internet was iffy. It dropped a lot but not sure if that was the hotel or my iPhones (although it also happened to my husband and son's non-apple iPhones). On a lesser note, they don't offer a complementary shower cap so not sure why that particular item was eliminated from the "amenities" line-up, but they did offer a moist make up towel so maybe that is the new "female" amenity change. Since I am planning to be back in the area again, I may try out the other hotels nearby (Westin, Holiday Inn Express, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott) to see if there is a better offering for the same price.

"Great stay in Waltham"

Our second visit. We were very happy with the service, the breakfast buffet, and our room. Our grandchildren loved the pool, we loved the all day coffee the lobby. Will definitely stay again as we have family in Waltham.

"Excellent spot near Boston"

Eddie P, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 20/09/2017

This BW property is excellent- clean, comfortable, restaurant on sight, workout facilities, pool, free parking - what more can a business traveller ask for! It is also a 6 minute drive to the Riverside train station which takes you into downtown Boston for $2.75 one way- very convenient.

"First class business hotel reasonably priced."

BDAZ, Tucson, AZ 19/09/2017

The BW TLC was excellent. After staying in some lesser hotels on this trip the BW was a breath of fresh air. I checked in on a Sunday and there was a "back in 5 minutes" at the front desk and when I was able to check in, my room wasn't ready and I had to wait an hour more.

"Great Hotel!"

KS B, Colts Neck, New Jersey 18/09/2017

We loved this hotel. It is very clean and updated. The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was superb. The breakfast was delicious and had everything you could want (scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, breads, juice, cereal, yogurt and FANTASTIC orange juice). I recommend this hotel to all!

"It Only Keeps Getting Better"

Dorothy G, Fairfield, Connecticut 18/09/2017

We have been coming to this Best Western since 2010. We have spent many nights here since my son went to college in the area for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. We continue to come anytime we head to Boston. The hotel keeps getting better and better. We have seen such a great improvement in the breakfast area. In fact, it is the largest and nicest breakfast area of all the Best Westerns that we have stayed in. The selection of food is also very good. The restaurant is exceptional. It is nice to not have to look for a place to eat when you arrive on a Friday night. The employees are very professional and friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Keep up the wonderful work.

"Old and drabby hotel.."

sakyadhiitu, Cambridge, Massachusetts 13/09/2017

I stayed at a 2 double bed room, and overall the room needed to be updated! Now, the bathroom was the problem. It had a slow draining bathtub. So I asked for another room, and the staff gave me another room without any problem. The "new" room was similar to the one I had before.. needing update desperately.. but the bathtub was draining a little better than the previous room. Just a little better. I would not stay here again.

"Comfortable rooms, free breakfasts, and helpful staff"

Richard H, Springfield, Virginia 13/09/2017

The rooms are large, comfortable, with a bed mattress so comfortable I wanted to bring it home. Free breakfasts in a huge dining room, with brunches served on weekends. There's something for everyone, even picky eaters. Wifi worked beautifully. Front desk staff very helpful. Price of room was reasonable for traveling during the peak of vacation season. The hotel has an indoor pool but it was closed the weekend we were there (no big deal as we were visiting family). We would definitely stay there again!

"Problems - but no one to report them to"

queenanne75, New York 10/09/2017

When making our reservation, I requested a room on a "quiet floor" if possible. We were given a very nice room on the 5th floor, with a balcony, which was a very nice surprise. Unfortunately, as soon as we got near our room, there was a very strong mildew smell which was in our room as well. I decided to not make waves but to discuss it at check-out in the morning. Our room also had a door to what could be an adjoining room - at 1am several men and women came in and were talking and laughing loudly as well as playing music: it sounded like they were in the room with us. I called the front desk and could hear the phone ring next door. The music was turned off, but the talking/laughing continued for 30 minutes. Again, I thought I would discuss it at check out. So, at check-out, I waited at the reception desk. And waited. And waited. I could hear a voice in the office behind the desk, but had no way to get anyone's attention. I did leave our room keys on the desk, and I hope that we are definitely checked out. We had a long ride ahead of us and could not wait any longer. Positives: the bar is a nice area to offer. We didn't eat any of the food but it looked very good. Bartender was friendly. The breakfast room was great - the attendant was friendly and attentive, and the food selection was very nice for a hotel buffet. Lots of fresh fruit, good cereal selection, and several hot dishes. We'll likely stay here again, at which time I'll definitely ask for a room WITHOUT an adjoining door. I've never been in such a loud room!

Dear queenanne75, I am so sorry that you had such issues at the hotel. I will be looking into them. Noisy neighbors can certainly be annoying. Thank you for the nice comments about the breakfast and the attendant. Please come again. I can assure you you will have a better experience. zlcjf, Baltimore, Maryland 07/09/2017

Nice hotel at a best price. In Boston you cannot Fonda better area with this price. Hotel is not at high end but clean and comfortable. I love it! Swimming pool is a huge bonus and breakfast is warm and free. Close to everywhere from I 95.

VERY happy with our stay. Hotel was clean and room was too! The service at check was great. Te breakfast was very nice. A great selection for any appetite and beverage selection was just as nice! Very impressed! Fantastic value. Great service. Convenient location for Boston. We'll be back! Thank you!

PfredIII, East Lyme, CT 31/08/2017

The hotels in the Waltham area are overpriced because of the demand, so this Best Western is one of the more reasonable stays. Apparently this hotel has been remodeled, yet it still needs work. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The breakfast is adequate but nothing spectacular. My room had a mini fridge and a microwave which was appreciated, yet it did not have a room safe, which I've come to see as a necessity. the air conditioner was a wall unit and noisy and I believe that the filter needed cleaning (felt like I had allergies after one night there). The towel rack was pulled out of the wall and needed fixing. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The restaurant down stairs is good and very convenient and probably the best part of the hotel.

"Great Place to Stay Just Outside of Boston"

Loenuf, Oak Grove 30/08/2017

Great value compared to staying in Boston. Clean and comfy hotel. One of the top continental breakfasts that I've had at a hotel. The staff was very pleasant as well. Would definitely stay here again.

"Good Value so close to Boston"

Richard E P, Fairhope, United States 21/08/2017

Hotel is very convenient to I-95/Rt. 128 and easy access to roads into the city. The hotel has been renovated. The room was clean and nicely done. Only complaint with the room is the heating/air conditioner was VERY noicey and the WiFi was a little unstable and would drop your connection unexpectedly. If these are not a concern then this is the hotel for you.

"Vacation gone wrong"

crystalr578, New York City, New York 18/08/2017

My girlfriend and I visited this TLC location Friday August 11th. We made reservations to stay there the entire weekend as we were traveling to visit Harvard. Before booking the reservation, we contacted this hotel directly to inquire about the pool on Wednesday August 9th. We were told it was open, and until 10PM. Upon arrival we were told the pool had been closed for two weeks already--- due to maintenance. The room we were given smelled of rotten eggs and the bed was the most uncomfortable mattress we've ever laid on. My girlfriend and I travel a lot due to work, so we've had our fair share of hotel rooms around the world. The staff was unprofessional. It took two different reps to check in and a third to cancel the remaining reservation. The staff also did not seem to care to help with the issues in our room. The next morning the scrambled eggs were served out of buckets of water. The worse experience ever! Will never visit again.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear crystair578, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at the property. The pool was posted online as being closed and my staff was trained accordingly. If there was some miscommunication I apologize. We have many happy guests and many of them post on this site. I'm surprised you found nothing that you liked about our property. I have a dedicated and caring Staff. Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Great value, friendly staff!"

User 14/08/2017

This Best Western is one of the nicest BW's I've stayed in. The lobby is beautiful and has a really nice breakfast room with a full hot breakfast- eggs, bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, muffins, juices etc. Staff was so friendly! Only complaint is that our double room mattresses were extremely uncomfortable- I'm also pretty fickle about my sleep but my niece hated hers as well. But the price was a bargain to be so close to Boston!

Dear A487PCshannonc, Thank you for the great review. I hear you and I am listening. We are working on getting new beds. Please come again. We would love to have you. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Best Western Is The Way To Go"

User 14/08/2017

I don't like to stay anywhere else! Best Western has really stepped up their game for the FREE Breakfast that they do offer. Staff is friendly and its clean!! There was a nice restaurant in this hotel that made eating dinner later in the day very enjoyable, and we could take it to our room! I loved the little snack provided at the check in counter was very refreshing. I hope they keep their rates reasonable!! I only rent with Best Western!! I love the free cancelation on many of the rooms too!!!

"Eh... Just Okay"

User 10/08/2017

Outside of hotel and lobby are very nice. Hotel Staff was somewhat helpful and friendly I guess. Rooms were fair to poor at best. Full size beds felt very SMALL! Our first room was awfully hot so we turned on the AC and it made a horrendous noise. No wonder it was hot, no chance this noise just happened so Im not sure why we were put in there in the first place. We were immediately given a different room without an issue but when I requested a room with queen size beds or a king with a sofa bed I was told no. Dont think they really looked and I would have paid for the upgrade. Rooms were clean but very tight for a family of 4. We had to bring in a cot bc my 2 teens had no intention of sleeping in the same small bed (that made it super tight) and the husband and I didnt get much sleep. Carpet had stains and over all hallways are rundown. Needs some major TLC. Free Breakfast was convenient and had plenty to chose from. Lots of seating. The restaurant attached was nice. Location was great. Not in Boston but not far. We were there for college visits and a Red Sox game. Would I stay here again? Probably not wo the updates needed. Plenty of other options there in the area. Torn between 2 & 3 in rating. It wasnt terrible just Eh.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Karen B, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. We are a renovated property. We do not advertise that our double bedded rooms have queen size beds. They have 2 full size beds. I'm sorry but we cannot upgrade when we are sold out. Please call me if you wish to discuss your stay in greater detail. "Great Stay"

Helpful Staff and Clean, Comfortable Rooms. I would recommend staying here for business travel, or personal travel. Nice free breakfast option, and the property is well maintained. Plenty of free parking available and only 20-25 minutes to downtown Boston. Good restaurant attached, plus a lot of very good restaurants close by.

"Good place to be on a business trip, close enough to Boston"

WimJAR, Oldebroek, The Netherlands 09/08/2017

Nice accommodation for a business trip. I had to be in Boston and in Waltham. Balancing staying in Boston and traveling to Waltham versus the other way around was not so difficult. A stay in Waltham is cheaper and the travel can be done easily by train or bus (if you don't mind spending a little more time) I met friendly staff, however, there were some with connections to cabdrivers: I had the same driver three times. But that was okay, a very nice guy and no different prices compared to others. Large room, good breakfast

"Good Review"

User 07/08/2017

Good hotel, very nice breakfast, helpful staff. We were given 2 double beds for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, which was kind of tight.. Were expecting at least one queen and a sofa bed. Kids enjoyed in the swimming pool.

"Base Camp for Wedding"

eddyd263, Sewell, New Jersey 02/08/2017

Recently stayed at this Best Western for wedding that was held at nearby Gore Place. The hotel was a good base camp with nice rooms, a swimming pool, breakfast room, and a restaurant/bar for post-wedding party. The staff were all nice folks. Also they gave us so many little bars of soap that we not able to use up all the soap (no matter how many baths/showers we took). A good time was had by all. Feel free to grade this review as "helpful" as I am trying to win a new badge (not sure why).

"Nice hotel with good amenities"

Mike K, Mount Holly, New Jersey 26/07/2017

Spent a week here using this hotel as a base to commute into Cambridge. It is about a 15 minute drive from a green line "T" stop (Riverside). From there you can get anywhere the subway takes you within Boston. Doing this allowed some cost savings as compared with staying in downtown of Cambridge or Boston The hotel itself seems nicer than your typical Best Western. It has a decent bar/restaurant within the hotel. There is an above-average fitness center for a hotel of this class, which a nice universal machine so you can get a real workout in. It also has an indoor pool with an 8 foot deep end. The room was equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. There is a gas station right next to the hotel. All in all, a good place to stay.

"Last minute stay overnight in/near Boston"

Madi M, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 20/07/2017

We were making a last minute trip to Boston and needed a room for one night. Some hotels were sold out or very pricey, especially closer to the city, but this Best Western was a little farther out but very well rated and much more reasonable. I still feel we likely overpaid due to our late reservation, but considering the options we were faced with this was reasonable, not that far out of town either. It was very nice for the one night, fresh, clean, and included free parking and breakfast. Overall it was a good stay, short, but good. The breakfast room was larger and brighter than most, with lots of options and plenty of empty tables.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review

"Decent Stay"

User 19/07/2017

Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was what one would expect at this type of hotel. The kids enjoyed the pool. It was a little bigger and nicer than other places we have been to. The room had a faint smell of smoke and it appeared to be an older hotel. But it was a good price.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Erica J, Thank you for the wonderful review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you had a chance to enjoy the amenities. My apologies on any smoke smell. We are a smoke free property. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, Ma 02451

Daniel K, Douglasville, United States 12/07/2017

Much lower price than expected for the area. Also, pleasantly surprised of the quality of the hotel considering it had a rather low price. I normally don't fill these out, but felt like I wanted to make sure to give them a good review.

"Someone fix this property!"

lee p, Columbus, Ohio 11/07/2017

In dire need of repair on all levels! From dirty elevators to old and broken furnishings in the rooms to bathroom fixtures falling off walls and ancient threadbare bedding, this hotel needs help! Breakfast okay, easy parking and staff was very attentive and caring. Honestly, I wanted to roll up in my own blanket and forget where I was sleeping.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Lee P, I am sorry that you felt that your room was in such disrepair. We renovated all the guest rooms a few years ago and we have recently upgraded our linens and comforters. "Bad stay at what is usually a good hotel"

acerpacer, new york 10/07/2017

We have been staying at thishotel when we visit our daughter over the past 4 years and we have enjoyed our stays until now. The stay started with a ½ hour wait to check in on Friday at about 2:30 pm. The problem was that there was a non-English speaking guest who required a lot of assistance and the front desk person was alone. Next, we were called at 2 a.m. by the front desk who at first would not identify herself, then said she was from the front desk and she was calling to see if the room was occupied. I have been staying at hotels for over 40 years and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. Both my wife and I could not get back to sleep after that and it put a damper on the next day's activities. Next, the men's' room in the lobby was disgustingly dirty at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday Finally, the trash can at the entrance was overflowing at 4pm on Saturday. I was very disappointed with my stay.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear acerpacer, I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience. I would like to have the opportunity to discuss this further and to apologize in person. Please call or e-mail me so that we can talk. For now I am offering you my sincerest apologies. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Pay the extra money to stay either in or closer to Boston..."

rachelboudreau90, Amesbury, Massachusetts 08/07/2017

My boyfriend I stayed at the Best Western TLC in Waltham from July 2 through the 5th, 2017 Upon checking in we were greeted by a front desk receptionist who had the personality of someone who works for TSA. We got our room key and upon entering into our hotel suite, we realized that the AC was not on. The thermostat read 87 degrees in our suite. I did not find this a big deal because I thought I would just turn the AC up and it would be all good. No. The AC was broken, so before we unpacked, I went back down to the front desk and asked if he could fix our AC. Instead he switched rooms for us. I initially reserved a room overlooking the city because my boyfriend lives in CA and this was his first time to New England. We were changed to a room overlooking a parking lot. I would have rather someone come in to fix our AC, as to keep our view that I paid for...I was never reimbursed or credited) The next morning, we went downstairs to have breakfast. it was around 9am. There were no plates or bowls to be found. No way to get a some eggs, no way to get pancakes, nothing. We couldn't even get cereal. After 20 min of waiting, someone finally came out of the kitchen area to refill the food. I inquired about the plates and bowls. He looked under the cabinets and there were none to be found, he determined he had to go into the basement to get more. After another 15 minute wait, my boyfriend and I said screw it, we are going to Dunkin to get breakfast...we had plans that we had to get to for that day. I will not bore you with the details of the remainder of our stay. Do yourself a the extra money to stay in least you know you will have a view of SOMETHING, and the staff will be friendly and if you include breakfast, hopefully you will be given the proper tools to obtain it...

"3-3.5 star hotel - Certificate of Excellence?"

MyDogKeen, Huntington NY 06/07/2017

We were motivated to stay at the Best Western TLC based on the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award. While the hotel was OK, it pales in comparison to other Certificate of Excellence hotels that we had stayed at. This is a well maintained 3-3.5 star hotel. The rooms are standard rooms offering nothing out of the ordinary. For the most part the hotel is well maintained and the complementary breakfast offered was standard. For the money the hotel provides what you would expect but don't be swayed by the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence as it may raise expectations well beyond what the hotel delivers.

"A great place to stay"

We come up to the Waltham area to visit family several times a year, and the Best Western is always our first choice. "A surprisingly well equipped hotel "

janeaustinNY, new york 25/06/2017

We needed a place to lay down our heads while visiting friends. The price was really right in this very expensive area. So we had few expectations. Our room was spacious with simple furnishings. The bathroom appeared newly renovated. There is a lovely indoor swimming pool, a cheery breakfast room, and a large Tavern. We were on the 5th floor and unaware of any noise until the am when we heard a bit on noise outside. There were two bottles of water and a welcome note from the manager. This could be a terrific getaway place for a change of scenery!

"Beyond Expectations!"

William R, Buffalo, United States 05/06/2017

I have been a loyal Best Western customer for several years, and being independent franchises, you always see a variety of hotels, styles and service levels. I have to say that the Waltham Best Western not only ranks at the top, but I would compare it to any other hotel. I am not saying you can't get more amenities, but for the price of the hotel, it is definitely top notch. Very comfortable bed, good breakfast presentation and a lively restaurant/bar area. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

"Good Location, Poor Service!"

smtravel2017, Charlottesville, Virginia 23/05/2017

The location was great but the front desk staff was not only unhelpful but rude! She wouldn't let us check in to our room we booked online even with the confirmation number. Our room was backwards. The door handle had to be pulled up instead of pushed down, the hot water was cold and the cold water was hot, the light switch for the bathroom was outside the bathroom.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear smtravel2017, I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. However, my Front Desk staff is fully trained. We cannot check in a guest whose name is not on the reservation even if you bring in the reservation confirmation. All the rooms have light switches outside the bathroom. "Great hotel "

erinklein, Nashua, New Hampshire 04/05/2017

Spent April 16th at this hotel, the night prior to the Boston Marathon. It was a perfect stay. Myself and my three sons , ages 13,10 and 8.. all enjoyed the adjoining restaurant as we arrived. Then, the boys had fun in the indoor, very clean pool. They then enjoyed the fitness room prior to settling in to our very comfortable hotel room. We all slept in a bit as our beds were comfortable and it was quiet. We then enjoyed a very large breakfast .. could not believe all the food choices and it was included in your stay. Will definitely recommend this hotel and if in the area, we will stay again. Oh, and it's very easy to get to.. right off the highway.

"Decent Hotel with Poor Costumer Service"

Bkiq, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 03/05/2017

I am a frequent traveler and booked this hotel for 3 nights to visit family and friends in the area. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by a gentleman at the front desk who helped me with the check-in process. Upon going to my room I found out that the fridge was not working and the bathroom was not flushing. The toilet was overflowing!! I went down to the front desk and was told that he was going to change the room for me. However, I told him that I had to leave at that time and he said that he would switch the room at night when I come back. When I went back to the hotel at night, I went to the same guy at the front desk and was surprised to see that he changed his mind. He told me that the maintenance will be there the next day to help me with the bathroom issue and he did not want to give me a room because they were "fully booked." I asked for a manager but no manager was there at that time. I was starting to get irritated so he agreed to come to the room and check it out. He tried to flush the toilet but it was overflowing and it spilled on him. At that point he decided to give me a room. A new clean room appeared all of a sudden in his system even though they were "fully booked"!!! The new room was good. Everything was clean and functional. The beds were full size. Street view was nice. The bathroom was small especially since the door opens towards the bathroom which makes it very difficult to close the door while in it. Two bottles of water were provided in each room. Most importantly, everything was clean. The breakfast was decent as well. The food quality and selection was good and the people running the buffet were extremely friendly. The checkout process was just as terrible as the check-in to say the least. I asked for a bottle of water upon checkout since the water dispenser machine was not working in the lobby. The lady at the front desk told me that she can't give me a bottle because I am checking out!! I could not believe what I heard so I took my stuff and left. It would have been much nicer of her to say that they don't have water bottles instead of saying that they are done with me since I am checking out. I had 2 rooms reserved in June for 4 nights for another visit but I cancelled them immediately after I got home. I have never written a negative review but this deserves one for sure. This is a decent hotel with poor customer service.

"Recent visit"

cruiser077, Summerville, South Carolina 03/05/2017

We just stayed at Best Western recently and chose this hotel because of its easy access to getting on the highway and the complimentary breakfast. We needed to be within a half hour distance north and west so it was perfect. The hotel itself was very clean and everyone was very nice. There was even a restaurant on the premise we didn't go to it, but it looked good. Our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were just as bad. We woke each morning with backaches. The breakfast buffet was alright, but really nothing special. I would suggest that Best Western consider better pillows and mattresses. There are plenty of hotels in the area and so next time we will probably go to a different one for better comfort.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear cruiser077, I am so sorry that you had difficulty sleeping. Our beds and pillows are new. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of the amenities. Thank you for staying with us. I hope you try us again. We would love to have you. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, Ma 02451

"Great Place to stay for the value at Waltham MA"

Amir H, Karachi, Pakistan 26/04/2017

We were in Waltham, MA and found this place to be good to stay and visit the city. It is at a quite place but provides a good value for money. The location is great, very peaceful and has a restaurant/ Tavern within the premises as well as good views.

Margot F, General Manager at Best Western TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear amir H, Thank you for your great review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you felt you received a good value. The Copper House Tavern is a wonderful place to eat. Please come again. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Good Value and Location"

JudyandHoppy, Utica, New York 22/04/2017

Pretty hotel - clean and new. Many hotels in the area. We picked this one because it offered free parking and complimentary breakfast - that plus free Wu fi, a fitness room, indoor pool and coffee area helped us make the decision to stay. Rooms are large, with a comfortable bed, extra chair with end table and a table/desk with an office chair. Refrigerator and microwave.Strong Wifi in the room. Breakfast room on the first floor is bright and cheery. Continental breakfast buffet is adequate with fruit, yogurt, muffins and rolls plus containers of scrambled eggs, sausages and potato cubes. Pancake machine, too! Not quite like your favorite bed and breakfast, but the price is right and you can find enough to eat.

"Go-to Hotel for Boston visits"

cspolski, Essex Junction, Vermont 20/04/2017

This hotel is right off I-95 and is just a few minutes from Boston and where our daughter lives in Newton. The included breakfast is very good - fresh cut fruit, not just melon, and good scrambled eggs, bacon, etc. We had dinner and sangria (YUMMY) in the Copper House Tavern at the hotel the night we arrived and the food was very good. It was nice to just stay put after the busy drive.

"A handy hotel in Waltham"

W9404DNpeterb, ottawa, Canada 15/04/2017

A really nice hotel. Restaurant has a vegetarian burger. You an open the window, slightly, to let in glorious fresh air. Well located, next to I 95. I'm sure it costs lots less then a hotel in downtown Boston.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear W9404DNpeterb, Thank you for the great review. my daughter is a vegetarian and it is not easy to find her a good burger. The Copper House tavern has great food. "Another Great Stay!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 15/04/2017

Had another great stay at the Best Western TLC in Waltham this past week thanks to General Manager Margot Fenton and her wonderful staff. It is comforting to know when I travel to the Waltham area for appointments that one of the things I never have to worry about is my lodging accommodations. At my arrival, David at the front desk, could not have been more helpful in getting me checked in quickly, and in making sure everything was to my satisfaction thereafter. As usual, the room was ultra clean and comfortable. During my stay, Ruth at the front desk, and Emerson in the breakfast room (great complimentary breakfast), were equally helpful and welcoming, as was everyone else on staff I encountered. No matter what their role, the managers, the breakfast room, housekeeping, or facilities, they are all happy to help and know what they are doing. The in-house lounge and restaurant are consistently excellent, and there is always plenty of free parking. Many thanks to Margot and Best Western! Rich P.

"Clean, Comfortable Best Western, Fairly Priced"

Eric B, Newport Beach, United States 15/04/2017

Stayed at Best Western for the first time in a long time. Had reserved at both the Holiday Inn Express and this hotel. The other hotel was $30 more per night, but offered two queens instead of two doubles. However, I cancelled the HIE in favor of this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable and everything was in working order. The staff was polite and helpful. It has a decent restaurant on sight which also is a bar and fairly priced. Breakfast in the morning was good. I'd definitely stay here again. Was looking at colleges with my son.

"Quick stay!"

jensgar71, Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania 10/04/2017

Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom was a little small but ok. Complimentary breakfast was very good. They had a lot of choices like scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, muffins, English muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt . The gentleman working in the breakfast area was very good about replenishing the food very quickly. One of the best breakfasts we had at a hotel! My kids really enjoyed the stay and the pool. Would definitely come back.

"Nice relaxing night"

19971999, Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania 09/04/2017

Bathroom was small. Overall a good night sleep. Pool was warm and clean with plenty of towels for guest. Maybe a little more help at the front desk upon checkout. I like to receive an invoice upon checkout but no one was available so I just left my key on the desk.

4readers, Teaneck, New Jersey 27/03/2017

Great value. Breakfast includes healthy choices, such as fresh fruit and yogurt. Clean room, helpful staff. The restaurant in the hotel also provides quality food, quality service all for a reasonable price. Could not ask for more.

"I had a very negative experience at this hotel."

kyra f, Paris, France 13/03/2017

I had originally booked my room for the wrong weekend and upon calling the hotel to make a change they told me I could not get refunded for my booking even though it was two weeks away. I decided to book another room for my desired night and the man on the phone was very rude and distracted while talking to me. Due to hotel complications they canceled my booking and I was left with no hotel room after I already arrived at Best Western. I ended up calling Expedia and getting a full refund even though the concierge had told me there was no way I could receive a refund. I dislike this hotel due to the very rude and unprofessional customer service. I recommend you go to the Westin which is down the street instead, it is much nicer and for the same price!

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear kyra f, I'm sorry that you are upset. When you book through a non refundable reservation through a third party at a considerable discount there are strict rules. One of them is that you are not allowed to change the reservation after booking it. It would not be fair to other guests who book directly through the hotel to allow changes to third parties. I apologize if you think my staff was rude for following hotel policy. When you book your reservation through Expedia the restrictions and cancellation policies are very clear. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Most accommodating hotel I ever visited"

Sharon1700, Islip Terrace, New York 28/02/2017

The manager and staff have been so helpful with each of my stays. Using crutches and a mobility device have made traveling difficult but the hotel was able to meet all my needs. I appreciated their courtesy and concern for my well being and look forward to my next visit knowing all disability needs will be met.

"Wonderful Waltham!"

Paula H, Allenstown, NH, United States 27/11/2016

We grew up in Waltham, & still, have family/friends there. The Best Western has been our place since teen hood! The price is great, beautiful pool, convenient restaurant/bar, & the breakfast is wonderful. All the staff are friendly, & helpful. This visit was for our 35th High School Reunion. We had a blast.

"Well run"

jimily, New Haven, Connecticut 25/11/2016

About a year ago my wife and I stayed here and we had totally rude neighbors. I believe this is rare and can happen in any hotel. The management was very helpful to us in subduing our loud neighborhoods and promised us a discount if we ever came back (great management!). Last night we stayed again in the hotel and our stay was great. The breakfast is quite good with lots of variety and there is nice indoor, open-all-long pool that is quite nice. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I will stay here again if I need a hotel near Boston.

"The bathroom was a disaster"

Frank L, Cape Cod, Massachusetts 23/11/2016

My stay here was memorable. I stay in this area quite often and this is my first visit here and I think my last. Check in was quite easy and my room was OK. The bed was not very comfortable but the bathroom was a nightmare. I have attached photos to back up my claims. I sat on the toilet to do my business and was nearly castrated as the seat was not properly attached to the commode. The sink was clogged and filled with a mess from my face wash, shave remnants and shave cream. The toilet was barely attached and i could put my finger in the gap on the floor. What put the icing on the cake was the blow dryer it had... no lie... an 18 inch cord??????. I just chuckled as the electrical outlet was to the right of the sink, right in front of the does one dry their hair? Room 608 was just haunted.

"Oustanding visit with Team ensuring everything was perfect."

craigmarshall2016, Columbus, Ohio 01/11/2016

Margot, GM and team did an outstanding job during our stay at the Best Western TLC. Whether it was accommodating our luggage, late checkout, suggestions for dinner, opening breakfast early as we were there for the Head of the Charles, Margot and her team made sure we were completely satisfied, everything was OK and that we could concentrate on racing. Thank you and I will definitely stay at Best Western TLC next time we are there.

"An Oasis"

Lynne R, Raymond, United States 30/10/2016

Another wonderful night at this Best Western! Last week I needed to stay overnight close to where I work (I have a 70 mile daily commute). This hotel has become my home away from home for several reasons. Manager Margot Fenton personally gets to know her regular guests and she passes that customer service standard along to her staff who are so excellent at making me feel like part of the "family". The beds are incredibly comfortable, on-site restaurant is great and service and quality of the morning complimentary breakfast buffet is fabulous. Front Desk staff, Food Service and Housekeeping staff are always over the top. My thanks -- can't wait for my next stay!

"Not the best of the Best Western Ive stated at but still great Value!"

Rosalove7, Glenview, Illinois 28/10/2016

I actually like many best Western but was a bit disappointed in this one. The location was pretty good, the hotel staff was alright. We lucked with another front desk guy informing us the restaurant in hotel was about to close. The hotel restaurant cooper House Tavern amazing definitely try. Bed were good but not amazing. This best Western was not as good as other Best Western. Pool area closes very early, fitness center wasn't very good , and no Hot tub. Breakfast was fantastic though. Lots of great parking. Overall a great value would stay again. Just need minor issues addressed.

"Satisfaciton of Hotel stay"

Brenda G, E. Falmouth, United States 24/10/2016

We recently stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Waltham, MA and were very pleased with the staff and the service. Our only choice when we are in the Waltham area will be the Best Western. The room was very clean and the breakfast was . great as there was many choices.

"Rude Desk Clerk & Check dates on Yogurt before eating"

Max N, Mililani, Hawaii 22/10/2016

Front desk clerk. Upon check in, arrived early 1430hrs., and asked if the room was ready. Clerk said, NO. I asked how long do you think before the maid cleans the room. He said he had no idea. I told him I'll have a beer in the Traven. After an hour I check back with the clerk. Room still not ready, and I asked again how long more. Again, he said he has no idea So, I asked him for the code for the internet so i could look for a place to have dinner. He just toss a card key holder with the code on it, on the desk. Very RUDE! In the 70's, both me and my wife worked the front desk for 5 years, Waikiki BeachComber, 500 room hotel. This clerk NEEDS to be re-calibrated on Front Desk etiquette. We left the hotel, and at 1730 hours, I called back to see if our room was ready. He said yes. When I returned to check in, he found out that my wife works with BW in hawaii and his attitude changed. Its ashamed that my take away of this hotel, was spoiled by the POOR reception of your front desk clerk. My first impression is my lasting impression Also, need you need to check the dates on the yogurt before eating it. I found them to be all expired by 2 weeks. I had to tell the clerk in the breakfest line about it, he went in the back to get me a fresh one. It was too late for the other guest eating them

"Much better than expected"

GillPerry, Coventry, United Kingdom 21/10/2016

Best Westerns are not my first choice but the other hotels were full. This was much better than expected and value for money. Great welcome by the staff and they pointed out all the hotel features. Room bigger than expected. A little tired but had everything including a refrigerator. The Copperhouse Tavern is a great place to eat especially if you enjoy a beer with you meal and even better if you enjoy sport on while you eat. It included a breakfast which was fine for a complimentary breakfast.

"Terrible!!! Will not stay here again"

User 20/10/2016

The hotel front desk person had terrible customer service, he was very timid and not very helpful after we drove 5 hrs to get there and to be told we needed to wait until they did their system audits. The day we were leaving we were told the guy is new, he needed to be trained some more. Over all terrible, place is not updated and breakfast was decent

"Boston getaway"

EuroTraveler252, Bethesda, Maryland 17/10/2016

We chose this hotel because of other reviews including the affordable price and proximity to Boston. The room we stayed in was basic, but clean, quiet and safe. The free breakfast was good with a nice variety of choices (yogurt, eggs, muffins, fruit, etc.), and we liked having coffee available 24/7 in the dining area. The wi-fi was fast so we could watch videos. There was also plenty of parking. The only recommendation we'd make would be to have individual id's/passwords issued for the wi-fi vs. sharing one id/pw with everyone else in the hotel.

"Functional Room"

Peter T, NYC, United States 13/10/2016

Excellent Staff - Hotel décor up to date and parking is easy. Water pressure was an issue and water draining in bath tub. Had an issue with room as food from prior guest was overlooked on the carpet in a area which could be overlooked by any individual. High speed internet was good.

"Great free breakfast and on premise restaurant"

Susan W, Riverdale, New York 13/10/2016

Booked this hotel because I couldn't find any other availability for Parent's Weekend at Boston College. It's located right off I-95, but about 15-20 minutes from the school. However, the service and amenities were well worth the short drive. Staff was smiling and helpful, room was good size and love the microwave/fridge perk. The free breakfast offered pancakes, eggs, bacon, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit - plentiful. Also, there is a large restaurant/bar on the premises and it seems to be a popular dining spot for locals - Will def return to Waltham Best Western TLC

"I love staying here."

Mary B, Denver, United States 13/10/2016

This hotel is out of the mainstream but convenient to everything. Skirting the west side of the Boston metro, you get great access to all areas without the premium price of lodging and parking of downtown Boston. Great breakfast!

"Consistent Excellence"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 12/10/2016

General Manager Margot Fenton and her team of Jason, Ruth, Sam, Emerson, et al., have always made my trips to the Waltham area for appointments less stressful and more enjoyable, because I don't have to worry about the lodging part of my trips. The staff here is a model of consistency in excellence. They are always friendly, accommodating, and available to help in any way they possibly can. The rooms are always clean, well- stocked with towels, toiletries, etc., and the housekeeping staff is efficient and thorough. Within the hotel are numerous conveniences: A great complimentary breakfast with plenty of variety; complimentary Wi-Fi; indoor heated pool; exercise room; snack-shop; and, a great restaurant called The Copper House Tavern. After a long day of traveling, it is so nice to have everything you need on-site, and have it provided to you by a professional and attentive hospitality staff. There is plenty of free parking, and when you are ready to head back out on the road, the hotel is located right off route 128 (interstate 95), and there is a gas station nearby to fuel up. Many thanks to GM Margot, the TLC staff, and Best Western, Rich P.

"Unfortunate Terrible Experience"

Richard W, Rego Park 11/10/2016

When we booked the room online, we booked a deluxe king room. However, when we got there, they gave us a one queen bedroom. When we told the staff about the mistake, they replied, "There's nothing we can do." When we used the shower in the one queen bedroom, it was broken and the water was stuck so only one family member got to use the shower. When we went back to the staff, they said, "If you don't like it here, you can check out." When I talked to the front desk manager, named Jason, he said there were no rooms left. Then, Jason discussed our situation with the general manager, who gave us a new room. So all along, there was a room available, but they failed to give it to us. We had to suffer in the extremely low quality conditions of the one queen bedroom for a long time even though there was a clean, satisfactory room available the whole time.

"Decent Place outside Boston"

Chizette, Allentown,PA 10/10/2016

Stayed for two nights recently while visiting local colleges with our daughter. Management would not honor my husband's reward account because I made the reservation. We are married so this should have been done. Room was clean but the bed pillows were unusually small and we did not receive any extras for our daughter who slept on the sofa bed. Small balcony off room but no chairs to sit on. Breakfast consisted of a wide variety of items including eggs, potatoes, fruit, cereal and pancakes that came out of a strange contraption and were a little rubbery. It was included with the price though which was nice. Pool area looked ok but we did not use it. Price was significantly cheaper than hotels in downtown Boston so this was a good option for a short stay.

"Another great stay at the Best Western TLC Waltham"

Alex G, Newington, CT, United States 08/10/2016

I am a regular guest at the BW TLC in Waltham and enjoyed another great multi-night stay last week. Great staff and the best hotel GM in the area make this a very good hotel year round for my busy schedule.

"Best Western Waltham, MA"

947dennisc, Aurora, Colorado 27/09/2016

I have stayed at many Best Western's and I found this one to be in the top three. The amenities were abundant, the rooms were immaculate, the staff was outstanding (A Special thanks to Jason the night manager). The restaurant was excellent. I thought the New England Seafood Platter was a little over priced and not much lobster. All in all thoough the food was tremendous. Hats off to this Bes Best Western.

"Not so great stay for price"

Michael B, Waltham, United States 06/09/2016

The hotel was ok, not what I would of hoped for for the price. Breakfast good except for terrible coffee out of a machine. Staff not very helpful, would not stay again. Location not bad but many other hotels right near by

"Big room with tiny surprises!"

Cara O, Manhasset, New York 05/09/2016

Pleasant check-in experience. Nice indoor pool. Surprisingly varied assortment of breakfast items. Large room featured a couch, two easy chairs, and a king-sized bed with incongruously tiny pillows. HUGE walk-in close with three hangers. Could use better lighting throughout the room. Biggest surprise of all: Small bathroom with a toilet that resembled those found in a nursery school. (You'll think you lost your sense of proprioception when you take a seat on any of the guest room thrones at this Best Western ; that's all I'm sayin'!) .

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review

Had a very nice stay at Best Western Friday, Aug 26th. The breakfast was more then I expected. Eggs, home fries and bacon plus fresh fruit, a variety of bakery items, yogurt, and hot and cold cereals. Our room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. There was a housekeeping issue but it was resolved by the manager, much to my satisfaction. I would definitely stay there again.

"Let the baby sleep on the floor"

docrach1, Elmira, New York 18/08/2016

A week before our visit I booked a room for my son, his wife and their 9 month old baby. I asked to reserve a crib and was assured that one would be available. (A very proud rep even beamed that it would be free of charge.) Two days prior to my family arriving I personally confirmed the reservation at the front desk and reminded them of the crib. No problem was the reply. When my son arrived the desk was at first confused, then said they would get a crib, but pointed out that there were no actual reservations for a crib. First come first serve. I replied that was not what I was told and that I would not have made the hotel reservation in the first place if I could not have guaranteed a crib for my 9 month old grandson. After an hour or so they came to the room with a crib with no mattress. The desk man advised we fold a quilt to use as a mattress. As a children's doctor I informed him that not only was this unwise, it was down right dangerous. He then suggested we put the child on the floor to sleep! Not Best Western's finest hour. We asked if they could borrow a crib from one of the ten hotels in the area. We offered to get it ourselves. They told us that would not be possible. They left us with no suggestions or plan to bed a now very sleepy and VERY cranky baby. We eventually called relatives who live in a different town and had to drive quite a way to borrow a crib. Returning it two days later. The next day we complained at the desk and were told to take it up with the hotel manage, who was only available between the hours of midnight and 7AM! Since that night I have called the manager twice with no returned call. I have called Best Western's central customer care number a total of 4 times and each time I received a short "Sorry" but when I mentioned some recompense for my time and travel I was told that a more senior agent was necessary and I would be called back to discuss the problem. Four times. No calls back. Ever.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear dorach1, I cannot apologize enough for the confusion that occurred with regards to the crib. I have purchased additional cribs so that this situation won't happen in the future. Please call me so that we can talk about the issues you encountered. I would like to help. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Good value on weekends"

Richard C, Albany, United States 16/08/2016

This is a great location if you're planning to spend time in Boston. Close to Mass Pike, close to Riverside T station which takes you right into the city. Prices are a little outrageous during the work week, but Fri-Saturday rates are great for the convenient location. Beautiful restaurant/bar a plus!! Can't really ask for more for a basic hotel.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Richard C, It was a pleasure reading your candid review. Thank you. Prices are competitive with the area hotels during the week. The rates do go down significantly on the weekends. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us and I hope you come and stay with us again in the near future. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Good Value"

Glen H, Hummelstown, United States 15/08/2016

We thought our hotel was a good value for being outside the city of Boston. The breakfast had many good options including yogurt, fresh fruit, milk eggs and pancakes. The breakfast is from 6-9AM during the week and 7 to 10:30 on the weekend so you can swim first and not miss breakfast. The indoor pool is open until 10pm at night.

"Absolutely Disgusted"

User 13/08/2016

I booked a two night stay through Expedia at the Best Western TLC in Waltham Massachusetts. The day before my trip I called the actual location to verify my reservation, price and any additional fees. I spoke with Jason (whom I later found out was the manager), he verified my reservation, I asked if it would be OK to pay cash for my room, because I don't like using my CC too much. He said yes that's fine, but I would need a credit card to hold for incidentals. I said that would be fine, asked if he knew about how much that would be? He said $45, then corrected himself because it wasn't a prepaid stay and said no more than $50. When I arrived at the hotel the next day, the girl was checking me in, she asked for my ID and my credit card she gave me a paper to sign. As I handed them to her I told her that I called yesterday and someone named Jason said it was ok that I was paying cash. She also said that would be fine. I asked if the 15% hold was for the incidentals. She said Yes, then told me that the card didn't go through for the full amount of the stay AND incidentals. I agreed with her and said I thought u were only charging the card for the incidentals? She went to the office and came back out with a gentle men, I attempted to explain to him about the conversation that I had the prior day with Jason, he said yes it was him that I spoke with and he remembers the conversation BUT he thought I was asking just about the incidentals. I said but I SPECIFICALLY asked u SPECIFIC questions he just repeated that HE misunderstood. I tried to explain to him that Im not from this state, I just drove 3 1/2 hours to get here and only deposited a certain amount, but I would pay the rest in cash if that was OK he told me there was nothing they can do! Anoyed and disappointed in the experience I asked if he new if there was a BA bank around, I'll go deposit money and be back but that I was not happy about the inconvenience, and I will be making a complaint. I asked since he's the manager if I could have his General Managers information. At that time an older lady who had been standing in the door way stepped out to "assist". She said she was the GM. I tried to again explain to her that I just drove out of state 3 1/2 hours to get here and repeated the conversation that I had with Jason the Manager yesterday, he AGAIN confirmed that he did have this conversation with me and HE had misunderstood what I said. I again asked if I could pay the remainder in cash, she said No! I said this is absolutely crazy, I'll try to find an ATM and be back. She said what I can do for u is "CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION AND YOU CAN FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY!!" In shock I asked for her name she said Margot, and make sure you take my business card" turned her back and walked away... I asked Jason for a receipt to verify that nothing was charged to my card. He handed me a paper. I called customer service to complain. They said there's nothing they can do except pass it along to the corporate office. Someone would be in contact with me, And he could try to find me another Best Western... The hotel they found was over an hour further away and they wouldn't give me the same price. I ended up finding a room on my own at a GREAT hotel The Sonesta ES Suits in Burlington Mass!! This was the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AT A BEST WESTERN!!! AND ON TOP OF IT ALL NO ONE FROM CORPORATE HAS BEEN IN TOUCH AND THEY ENDED UP CHARGING MY ACCOUNT!!

"Nice hotel outside of Boston"

Amanda T, Flatwoods, United States 13/08/2016

We stayed at the Best Western TLC during our family New England road trip. It was convenient to the Legoland Discovery Center in Somerville for an evening of fun with our kids--8 and 4 yrs old, as well as for the following day's educational Boston outing. The hotel lobby is lovely (my son loved the waterfall feature). Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a place where the wallpaper was beginning to peel in the bathroom. While somewhat unattractive, it wasn't a big problem. We enjoyed the breakfast options. We did not have a chance to go swimming, but the pool area looked nice.

Hotel employees were very helpful and kind! Uber service from hotel was great ! The rooms are a little average. We had a non smoking room and it smelled like smoke . Beds only had three pillows small square pillows. Not terrible not the best overall a decent stay

octopi47, New Castle, Delaware 10/08/2016

Quiet and very clean. Several places near by to eat. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. We went to Boston for the day. Drive was not far. Rooms were quiet. Breakfast had many choices. Children friendly.

"Great mid range hotel in Boston!"

Joy M, Thatcher, Arizona 09/08/2016

Clean hotel, lots of room for our family of 6. Fun pool for the kids. Great hot breakfast buffet in the mornings. Only 35-40 minute drive to downtown boston even in the traffic. Only thing missing is a self service laundry.

"up grade"

wkarbiwynk, Williamstown, New Jersey 02/08/2016

booked a handicap room, found the bathroom old and dated, need to be updated for handicap person. The bed room was ehh! but liveable, could use and upgrade which I find with older motels not only BW. The one thing missing in BW and others is a nite lite so you can find your way. House keeping could have bee better.

User 31/07/2016

Just came back from a trip to New Hampshire, flying in and out of Boston. I didn't think it was necessary to make a reservation in Boston, but I was mistaken! There wasn't a hotel available within 40 minutes of Boston. We ended up at a Best Western in Waltham MA. The hotel was advertising a price of $325 online which we were (reluctantly) willing to pay. When we got to the hotel, the price was jacked up even further to $480 (including tax) because we got the last room. The man at the front desk said that normally the room rate was $160. To add insult to injury, the room was worn and the beds were uncomfortable. I will never consider another Best Western... terrible business practice!

"Spacious, small balcony, clean"

Pushkatrina, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada 31/07/2016

Stayed two nights so we could visit Boston for a day. Free parking at hotel. Drove to Riverside train stop ($6 for the day to park there) and took the greenline to Boston for $5.50 return. Took about an hour to reach Boston Commons. Wifi was excellent. Air conditioning was blowing next to the desk so had to move laptop over to coffee table. Large room and very comfortable.

"Comfortable and Affordable"

Judith M, Niagara Falls, Canada 26/07/2016

Our room was spacious, clean and modern. It had a comfortable king sized bed with lots of pillows. We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the free breakfasts. The food was quite good and the coffee was excellent! The hotel was a 10 minute drive to downtown Waltham. Will definitely stay here again!

"An enjoyable weekend"

Linsiu5, Chester, New York 26/07/2016

We stayed for the second time 21st this hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We all enjoyed the free breakfast that the hotel provided. I will definitely stay there again.

"Average hotel with high price"

Timothy H, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA 21/07/2016

We found ourselves in Boston for the night and downtown was sold out. This was an easy 30 minute drive from downtown. The hotel itself looks newer or recently remodeled. The attached bar/restaurant was very nice with a large beer selection and active night life for a Tuesday night. The staff was polite and friendly. The room itself had very uncomfortable beds and pillows. I woke up with a stiff back from the firmness of the mattress. I understand that Boston has higher prices than other cities in the U.S but I was floored that with taxes this was $400 for a Best Western. I am not sure if this was demand pricing but no way is this normally worth price. I am from Milwaukee and this room would of been $89 for the night. I have stayed in five star hotels down town Chicago for less than this Best Western.

"Comfort and convenience"

RLStoudt, Allentown, PA 13/07/2016

Hotel is centratlly located with easy access to Boston and suburbs. Great breakfast included. Nic e pool and decent workout facility. Restaurant attached is both convenient and very good. Bed comfort was lacking both the mattress and pillows. Next time we would opt for the king bed for hopefully better comfort.

"Really nice"

ptanika, Edison, New Jersey 09/07/2016

The location is about 25 mins driving distance from downtown Boston. The room was clean, good wifi. Big room. Very nice breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs, potatoes, bagels, muffins and lots more. Coffee offered to guests all day. Nice heated indoor pool. We had a nice stay.

"Nice place to stay."

asnakebite, Arizona 08/07/2016

We stayed in a king room that was roomy and clean. Price as very reasonable for the Boston area. The restaurant is very nice and the food is good. The free breakfast is just okay. Nothing special. If we return to Boston, we will likely stay here again.

"Nice clean friendly hotel!"

User 08/07/2016

This was the nicest Best western I've been to. Would definitely recommend. The rooms are spacious. Everything is clean and new. There is an indoor pool and free continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly! Good location right near the prospect patk

"Nice rooms. Great staff. "

cordcutter, New York City, New York 29/06/2016

I stayed here while visiting a homesick camper. Margot, the manager, saw that I had been upsold on Priceline's "stay tonight deal." (Lesson learned: don't trust hotel aggregation sites... always call the hotel directly). While she couldn't do anything about the first night, she gave me a great rate for the second. Which included a great breakfast, even for a low-carb eater. Quiet, clean, hospitable, convenient to Boston (with car). I'd gladly stay again.

User 18/06/2016

The service was excellent and the staff were courteous friendly and very professional. They went above and beyond board to make sure that their guest are satisfied. I have recommend this hotel to several of my friends and strangers as well. I will and would recommend this hotel to any one will visit the Boston and Waltham area. Best Western TLC Waltham continue the excellent job you are doing see you all soon.

"Good, affordable hotel and surprisingly modern!"

CathP4T, Montreal, Canada 17/06/2016

I went there because I initially had business to attend to in Waltham (and overall this city has been my rest stop of choice). Although I usually booked across the street, prices there were cheaper this time. I was pleasingly surprised by the great, modern looks of the hallway and breakfast room although I quickly realized it wasn't an equal measure of the pool area and gym (closet-sized, didn't want to think about 2 strangers working out at the same time). The room was okay. Unstable parts in the shower's floor structure and definite feel of the plastic piqué on the beds. Usual paper-thin walls (and doors, oh my, all the moving around and slapping and chatting), but nothing surprising. Breakfast was good and well furnished. Happily pleased with everything. Yummy start to the day (but don't get there last minute, you'll barely get leftovers, if any). Wouldn't mind going back, but didn't move to top of the list for that area.

"I suppose I should be grateful that they had a room?"

mrganem, New York City 17/06/2016

Had a business meeting near Boston and found everything booked up - except this hotel, which had a room available for $500. With little choice, I took it, but this is demand pricing at its worst. (I noticed that the price rose to $600 not much later.) The hotel itself? Nothing at all special. I know it's just economics, but leaves a very bad taste. Will not return if I can possibly avoid it.

"Conveniently located"

Tomoko E, ???, Japan 14/06/2016

This hotel is conveniently located if you have business at Brandeis University. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff members were friendly. However, I hope the quality and a variety of the breakfast will be improved.

"Incompetence to the max! Go elsewhere."

Armywife12, Indianapolis, Indiana 13/06/2016

So, we decided to stop at this upgraded dump of a hotel some R and R and decided to spend one night. The room which was assigned reeked of dog's urine. I personally informed the front desk clerk who did not bother to check, but stated that, " we nehveeer allow pet, we're not pet fwendly." Whatever, not I the mood to argue. The following morning we checked out and I realized that I was charged for a two night stay instead of one. I immediately contacted the hotel and the incompetent desk clerk told me that it was a security deposit that would go way after 3- 5 days. Who has ever heard of a security deposit that high? I asked to speak to a manager on duty or the GM and neither were available: The GM was out of state and the "manager" was playing hid and go seek with me. I was told to email them both concerning the overcharge on my one day stay. So, I guess we're screwed if anything goes wrong when the GM or a FD manager is absent? Go elsewhere before you get assigned a smelly room and end up paying so much money for a one night stay, like I did. I am still waiting for a reply from the GM or the FD manager.

"Great Hotel"

Julia D, Saint Louis, United States 13/06/2016

I know that I am supposed to type 200 characters, but I am not a long winded person. My family loves this hotel for visiting family and being comfortable. Thank you Best Western. Still need more characters. Can't think of more.

"Lovely Place"

swampshelly, Tampa, Florida 08/06/2016

Visited and was so surprised. What a great hotel. The staff were super helpful and courteous, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was nice. Was even able to grab a beer on tap each night in a pub in the lobby area. Indoor pool area as well.

"Excellent quality-price ratio"

nmenard, Montreal, Canada 05/06/2016

We spent two days at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and soudproofed, and the breakfast (included) was generous. We also had a very good experience at the hotel restaurant : the Copper House Tavern. I would like to enhance the politeness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the cooperation offered by the general manager, Margot Fenton, who helped to settle a problem with my reservation made by error through a third party, which could have been costly. Thanks also to the maid who reacted quickly when she realised that I had forgotten something in the room. We will return without hesitation to this hotel, but I will make sure to reserve directly.

"Great Breakfast"

User 03/06/2016

We enjoyed our stay; the staff were helpful, the kids really loved the breakfast, we enjoyed the allergy friendly options availible, the pool was warm, we traveled by train into Boston in well under an hour, the resturaunt had friendly staff and gigantic american portions of delicious food.

Jason I, Waltham, United States 03/06/2016

average stay at a hotel surrounded by other hotels. the elevator wait was as you might find at a swanky night club. the bar was fairly nice, though and if i was a child, the breakfast and pool options would have been great. overall, asking 250 a night for this place you might expect Madonna to play in the lobby

"Hotel Pillows-Yes, just like home"

Annette H, Vancouver, Washington 01/06/2016

I have had neck surgeries so pillows are a big deal for me when traveling. I stayed at Best Western TLC and that is what I received tender loving care. I arrived late Sunday evening and realized that I hadn't mentioned that I needed a flatter pillow or 3 flat sheets and a pillow case prior to arriving. I explained my plight to Marcos (front desk evening/night shift), and he responded quickly. Initially he offered a tablecloth and pillowcase as he did not have any sheets at the front desk. He even offered a nice fluffy comforter to use as my pillow, but it wasn't workable. After going up to my room and then coming down to use the exercise equipment, I checked with him. Even though the linen department was closed, he personally went to the laundry room, found me the sheets and pillow case, and had them for me after my workout. I really appreciated his efforts on my behalf. I don't know if you have any other requests for “flat pillows”, but they would be a nice option when I stay at your hotel.

User 30/05/2016

We were at the Waltham, MA location this past weekend and for an extremely busy weekend (soccer tournament) where the hotel was quite full and there was only one operating elevator! The front desk staff on Friday evening and Saturday evening were less than accommodating and/or friendly. After 7 hours of traveling, the girls that were there were told after 15 minutes of swimming to get out of the pool, as one girl who had just arrived jumped in (not knowing she shouldn't) so all the girls had to get out dripping wet with no towels anywhere in site!! After asking 3x we finally received towels. Some girls never swam again since they were told they were being watched on a camera and didn't want to get yelled at for making a splash. The restaurant stopped serving food at 10 pm on a weekend? We got there Friday night and went in at 9:50 and they said - sorry we're all cleaned up for the night. There were several of us who would have dropped a serious amount on food and beverage during this weekend but had no chance with the schedule we had so we all went out. Bad decision when you know you have a tournament and all the hotels are full and everyone would be looking to eat and drink once back from all their games. Finally, we had one more game on Sunday to determine if we would all have to book another night (at least 15 families) and the front desk had nothing to say other than we would have to check out by 11 in the am and then check back in if we wanted to book another day - really! Our game was at 10:30 am so in my experience the correct answer would be "that's fine, we will give you a late check-out and then let us know if you need the rooms after your game". The revenue earned would have been worth the wait since it was a Sunday night and no one was taking those rooms behind us. Bad decision on the staff's part. We stay at many hotels and I have never had a more uncaring and unaccommodating staff to deal with so therefore - many families packed up and relocated. Best Western's loss. This hotel going in looked like a nicer Best Western but it was a serious disappointment which will keep me going to the Hilton and Marriotts who treat their guests like family.

"Wonderful guest accommodations for daughter's upcoming wedding"

vogeljanet, Naples, Florida 26/05/2016

While our daughter's wedding in Belmont, MA isn't until June 12, we have only wonderful things to say about the folks over at the Best Western TLC in Waltham, MA. From the first phone call I made to manager Margot Fenton, I have consistently heard from her the marvelous words:"Sure, we can do that for you." Unlike other hotels I had contacted, Margot didn't hesitate to offer me the exact number of rooms I wanted to reserve for my daughter's wedding. And she went out of her way to quote us a great price for our guests. Plus, even when our guests made requests for rooms after the deadline date, Margot honored all requests made. We are confident that we will be writing to Travel Advisor again once the wedding is over to talk about the wonderful experience all of us will have had celebrating this very special event in our daughter's life with the staff at Best Western TLC! Thanks, Best Western, TLC!

"good value great hotel"

Robin L, new jersey, United States 25/05/2016

Great value and very close to my daughters college Bentley University. Friendly staff and good restaurant in the hotel with outdoor seating also. Breakfast in lobby is good. Stayed here every time we visited in the last 4 years.

"Satisfied! "

Eric B, Agawam, Massachusetts 24/05/2016

The general manager Margot Fenton was absolutely fantastic to deal with.. She was extremely helpful and took great care of me when an unruly guest woke me up. I can't say enough good things about her.. I will definitely stay at Best western next time I'm in town.. I highly recommend it..

"Exemplorary service."

Elizabeth C, Red Bank, New Jersey 23/05/2016

From the welcome to departure, each person on staff we met was friendly, and offered to help. They created a most wonderful atmosphere. Staff was courteous and also professional. Room was clean, spacious and welcoming. Breakfast buffet eggs were cold ad I wish they had had a microwave where I could have warmed them up.

User 17/05/2016

We stayed in Waltham because my son was graduating from a college in Boston. The hotel staff was outstanding, rooms were clean and comfortable, and having a bar/restaurant (which is outstanding and reasonably priced) in the hotel truly helped us not have to run around finding places to eat every night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the Boston area.

"Nice hotel with excellent breakfast"

Mary B, Denver, United States 16/05/2016

Great choice for location just outside of Boston and convenient to everything. Free parking and awesome breakfast stood out for me. Believe it or not, I think the scrambled eggs were actually eggs. Great taste. I also loved the 24/7 coffee. The only thing missing at this hotel is a hot tub.

"Loved it!"

pnut1071, Montreal, Canada 10/05/2016

Great location as it's right off the highway. Great service thanks to Dave at the front desk. Our room was large and comfortable and the hotel offers and American breakfast which was perfect as it had everything from pancakes to muffins to eggs to cereal, etc. There's a pool on site and a popular restaurant if you don't want to go far. I was pleasantly surprised with this BW and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend as it's only 20 minutes from downtown Boston by car

"Wonderful Waltham!"

Paula H, Allenstown, NH, United States 09/05/2016

We grew up in Waltham, & visit often. The Best Western is really nice. The restaurant/bar, breakfast, & pool are added benefits. It's conveniently located, & price is right. Also, we can get a cab easily if going out. We plan to stay there every time we're in town.

msullivanfour, Waterford, Connecticut 09/05/2016

My husband and I have stayed here multiple times with a son playing college sports in the Boston area. From the front desk staff, to the bountiful breakfast buffet, everything is great. General manager, Margot, is so attentive and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location could not be better for on/off the local highways. We would recommend this hotel to any of our friends and family. Also, a nice restaurant/ bar on site is an added convenience.

JayLaw1, NL 08/05/2016

Best Westerns have a range. Some are just OK, some are high-end hotels in disguise. TLC is the latter. Great location on the I95 with a short drive into downtown Boston. Clearly quite recently renovated. Nice rooms, lovely modern lobby. Restaurant onsite, which is unusual for a BW. The included breakfast was better than any of the BWs we've stayed at before (or since)! Actual fresh cut fruit (not fruit cocktail), many breads, cereals, beverages, sausages and eggs. There was a pool that looked great, but we did not have a chance to swim. One really minor quibble. The pillows are odd. Small and thin, You need a couple to approximate one regular pillow. Still 5 stars and would definitely stay here again next time we're in the Boston area.

"Comfortable night"

LarLa77, St. John's, Canada 08/05/2016

My husband and I stayed here for one night in late April as part of a roadtrip. We could tell that the hotel had been recently renovated. Great room on a higher floor. Wasn't expecting a balcony so that was a nice surprise. Nice assortment for breakfast with eggs and sausage. Would recommend.

"GOOD and Pleasent"

GHTHOMAS, Suffern, New York 07/05/2016

Very nice hotel only problem was they changed TV selection of channels. NO HBO that was disappointing. The Breakfast was good. It had a large selection of Hot and cold items. The staff kept the tables clean and food well stocked. I unfortunately could not eat at the restaurant as I was visiting family, but it seamed full of customers.

"Reno great, staff not great"

Railhistoryfan, Philadelphia 06/05/2016

My experiences with Best Western vary from wonderful to awful. During our stay in April, this property only earned two stars mostly for the ill trained and unmotivated staff. We were in town for a conference nearby. The hotel has been very nicely renovated on the inside and outside. Housekeeping was very good. On arrival, the front desk staff was indifferent, going through the motions. We want to a nearby restaurant and came back for the night. The room and beds were comfortable. In the morning, we went down for breakfast. About 50 guests were in the room but no staff member. The pancake machine was out and other areas needed tending. Eventually someone showed up. I went out to speak to the front desk about the issues and no one was there. A note indicated they would be back. I waited awhile but no one showed up. This is very distressing in a very busy time period. We left our key cards and departed. Since I could not speak to management, I wrote to Best Western on their site. The GM replied with an apology and offered a discount on my next visit. Thanks for the quick reply, but I wish you spend your time training and managing the staff.

"Great hotel"

Jennifer G, dartmouth, United States 06/05/2016

we stayed here for a basketball tournament. Was surprised how nice the hotel was for the price. Restaurant was great. Good food and service was excellent! only complaint is the beds are a little small. Was tight for two people to sleep. the pillows were small and flat and only had a couple. we would definitely stay here again. was in very convenient area. very close to highway.

"Way beyond my expectations!"

User 26/04/2016

I was hesitant about this hotel, since I never stayed at a Best Western before and the price was so reasonable but I AM SO GLAD I TOOK A CHANCE AND BOOKED IT! The room was spacious and CLEAN! As a matter of fact the entire hotel was so clean and modern! Everything was new and recently updated. The free breakfast was plentiful and tasty, so many options! A quick drive into Boston without the city prices! I can't wait to stay again.

"Staying in Waltham"

Angelo K, Thessaloniki, Greece 21/04/2016

During my stay in Boston I had to visit some people in Waltham. I was advised to stay in Boston and by car visit Waltham. I did the opposite and I had multiple profit. Attractive prices, cozy room, free parking, one minute access to I95 for going everywhere. Even during the big snowfall (first days of April! - 24C to Southern Europe vs 24F in Boston). Hotel workers working all day they were cleaning all areas outside and especially keeping parking area reachable and safe. Bravo! Very gentle staff, in all areas.A big improvement of breakfast is compulsory in order to be competitive with the other hotels in the very close area.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear Angelo K, I was so happy to read this wonderful review. Thank you. My staff works very hard and it is nice that you noticed and that you said so in print. "My favorite hotel in Waltham"

Alex G, Newington, CT, United States 19/04/2016

I stay in hotels often and have stayed in all of the Waltham local hotels. My first choice is still the Best Western TLC for many reasons. Great staff, location, and restaurant, but also consistently excellent service when I need assistance with a last minute reservation. Loyalty goes both ways and I often refer others to the BW TLC as it is my first choice when I stay in Waltham.

Staff and management at this hotel were deeply responsive, warm, and welcoming during my stay. A beautiful quiet room and good breakfast. Most of all, so nice to have a real person assisting rather than just a corporate face. Thanks so much for great service!

"Convenient Alternative to Staying in Boston"

evansvuk, Horsham, Pennsylvania 05/04/2016

We stayed here while attending the World Figure Skating Championships at the TD Garden in Boston. Very convenient location. Easy to get to from the main highways and a short, easy drive into Boston. A great alternative to staying in the city. Free parking also a plus. The lobby was clean and inviting. The breakfast area was also clean and well maintained. Room was comfortable with a mini fridge and a small microwave which was nice. Pool and small exercise room was a bonus feature. There was a cute restaurant/pub attached to the property. You could eat in or get take out. My only complaint was the staff. Our room key cards did not work and the staff seemed annoyed that I was bothering them with this issue. At check-in, we alerted that staff that we wanted to split the bill between two parties and was assured this was a non-issue. However, at check out the desk person seemed less than thrilled to accommodate us. There was a broken step on the ladder in the deep end of the pool. We told a staff member who was in the pool area and he actually rolled his eyes. There are a lot of hotel options in Waltham and I will probably consider a different one next trip as I felt that my business wasn't welcomed or wanted at this particular Best Western.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear evansvuk, I am so sorry that you didn't feel that my staff treated you well. They are trained in customer service and we receive many favorable comments from the majority of our guests. I will look into the situation and make sure that these issues do not happen in the future. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Best Western Waltham is the Best"

All newly renovated, clean, comfortable, healthy breakfast choices like fresh fruit and yogurt, free parking, and all for a very reasonable price. Look no further, we do a lot of traveling, and this hotel rates among the highest.

"Nice getaway"

325michealab, Laconia, New Hampshire 01/04/2016

My 6 year old daughter and I have stayed at this hotel many times. We live about 2 hours north and I like to take her on surprise trips to different attractions in the Boston area. This hotel is set in a great location. Most attractions that we venture to are within a 30 minute drive. There is a nice breakfast set up down stairs and we always leave stuffed and happy. The only "Con" I have is that I believe they should offer some type of discount for people that stay with them more frequently.

Margot F, General Manager at BEST WESTERN TLC Hotel, responded to this review
Dear michaelab, Thank you for the honest review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and that you stay frequently. I understand your frustration. I appreciate my loyal and frequent guests. Please call the hotel on your next visit. I will give you a good rate. Sincerely, Margot Fenton General Manager Best Western TLC Hotel Waltham, MA 02451

"Best Western Waltham"

Edward V, Lima, United States 30/03/2016

With major renovations, this hotel is now excellent in all aspects. I have taken advantage of the pool and the restaurant on several occasions. Everything was first-rate. The staff was helpful, the modernization has added to the charm and the hotbreakfasts are plentiful and complete with all sorts of offerings. The rooms have all been redocrated and all the amenities are up-to-date as well.

"Some Place Like Home"

Lynne R, Raymond, United States 24/03/2016

It's so wonderful to have a high quality hotel very close to where I work so I can stay when challenging weather in New England makes a 70 mile commute a real challenge. I always choose to stay at the Best Western in Waltham because the manager and staff are fabulous, the beds are luxuriously comfortable, there's an excellent restaurant on site, breakfast is great and I feel like it's my home away from home.

"Solid hotel that makes an effort."

User 20/03/2016

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, you are looking in the wrong place. but if you want a clean, solid, budget friendly business hotel, this is a good option. Great location if you are visiting Dassault Systems or Wolverine offices. Restaurant that shares the same building is solid as well.

"Quiet and friendly"

User 07/03/2016

Stayed here on a Saturday evening just to get away for a night. Upon arriving early, Ruth assisted me in checking in quickly and she was extremely pleasant with a bubbly personality. We had a room with king bed, my only complaint is that the bathroom is a little on the smaller side and the toilet was lower than average. But other than that the room was great with a mini refrigerator and microwave. The pool area looked nice. They have coffee station which is set up 24hrs. I was very happy about that. Also, the complimentary breakfast next morning was nice which included hot items as well. I did use the restaurant attached for take out as well on Sat evening, ordered the Italian Grinder pizza and then went back later in evening for drinks. They were open till 1am. Overall, a good experience. So having the hotel and restaurant together is definitely a bonus. Would go back again.

"Not the best visit"

Donna H, Columbia Maine 21/02/2016

I have stayed at this hotel in the past when traveling for my son's Medical appointments. Usually it is wonderful. Unfortunately this time it wasn't as great. When I booked the room I asked to have a room near an exit and our room was in the middle of the 3rd floor. When we opened the door to our room the heat was blasting. They had set the heater to 75 degrees. No matter how low we turned the thermostat we couldn't get the room to cool down. All through the night the fan kept running. The lobby and pool area were freezing. The pool area had no towels in it and when we went to the desk to ask for some they didn't have any at the desk either and it took quite awhile for someone to bring some. The breakfast was okay. The eggs, sausage and potatoes were luke warm at best. The staff was very friendly. Overall I would stay there again because from past experience I know this hotel can be better. Hopefully it was just an off night and not how it will be in the future.

Best Western is excellent we always stay here. The staff is excellent and always make us feel so comfortable. We like the fact they have breakfast and a restaurant for more formal dinners. The location is perfect for us to visit our daughter who lives in Newton. Also great for shopping.

"Valentine's Weekend @ BW TLC"

Makeda D, Boston, Massachusetts 15/02/2016

BW TLC , MY BOYFRIEND AND I HAD A GREAT Valentine's Wkend =) We mostly stayed in the room which I loved #302 & we HIBERNATED LOL but overall it's a great hotel (*SIMPLE, CLEAN AND SPACIOUS*); We had free breakfast which was enjoyable in bed; We went to lunch & dinner at the Restaurant which was okay; The prices on the menu was somewhat EXPENSIVE & the food was okay could've been better. The front desk staff was very friendly & respectable ... I also enjoyed my time in the fitness room; We wished we could've stayed a little longer but it was just for a time; NO WORRIES we will be back again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Your basic American Business Hotel"

ElRatler, Leucadia, California 04/02/2016

What can you say about the Waltham Best Western - I almost forgot to review it, that is how memorable it is. I stay here regularly when across in Waltham, this hotel is everything that speaks of 'road warrior' business travel. It is close to the freeway, it has free wifi, you get served breakfast in a paper bowl so that you can throw it in the trash and not have to employ someone to wash dishes. It is bright, functional and absolutely loveless. As far as i can tell there is nothing to recommend Waltham, unless you are visiting a business there, so unless you are travelling on business in which case this level of functional convenience will probably be quite satisfactory then you should never go to this hotel - the idea of spending a romantic weekend in The Best Western in Waltham is not a concept i can easily relate to. It fits within an expense budget, it offers rewards points, actually the breakfast is quite good - so long as you don't mind the plastic cutlery, joyless breakfast room and paper bowls - a decent selection of cereal, some nasty orange juice, yogurts and stuff. Its actually better than you would think. The pool is small and very public - i am not sure i have ever seen anyone in it. One thing that is of note is the Copper Bottom tavern connected to the hotel at the ground floor. It is quite a nice, lively bar. It is a redeeming factor. i would like the waiting staff to be a bit cleaner - they are a little grubby - but some of the food is okay.

"Best Western Waltham, MA"

Julia D, Saint Louis, United States 20/01/2016

Excellent in every way, except they need blankets on their beds, not just a thin bedspread. Very pretty, quiet and great breakfast! Have stayed there twice now. Don't know what else to say. Computer says I must say more!

"Very Good hotel; great staff and great management"

Al G, Newington, United States 18/01/2016

I again stayed at the BW TLC while on business travel and had a very good stay. Everything worked as intended, good clean room, great staff, restaurant food also very good. I recommend the BW TLC to others traveling in the area.

"Wonderful Waltham"

Paula H, Allenstown, NH, United States 13/12/2015

I grew up in Waltham. Whenever we visit the Best Western is where we stay. Even when younger, we ‘hung out' at the hotel. 1 of our HS reunions was there, too. The rooms are nice. Pool area great. Lounge is convenient. Rooms have fridge, & microwave. It is just so convenient. It makes visits to our home town like a mini vacation! The breakfast was awesome!

"Best Western Cares"

Kevin O, New Bedford, United States 13/12/2015

great experience, clean affordable, staff was friendly, helpful, caring. the pool was very nice, was in town to have an operation at a nearby medical facility, the hotel staff made sure that i was woken up on time and provided transportation to the facility. I mentioned why i was there and the staff went out of there way to alleviate some of my fears ( simple comments like, don't worry, you'll be okay, everything will be all .right meant so much)

"another stay at a great place!"

Charles V, Amityville, New York 03/12/2015

I had the pleasure once again to return to the Best western on Winter street waltham, and again I was not disappointed with the service, and friendly staff, as well as a clean room to stay in. easy check in, and out, and i was amaze to hear that the staff remembered my name. always a great experience!

"Convenient and welcoming"

NewYorkCityLibragirl, New York City 01/12/2015

Selected this hotel because of its convenient location for me. It turned out to be an excellent stay, a very ample free breakfast, free Internet and no charge for parking. Staff very solicitous and accommodating. I would definitely say there again and highly recommend it. If there is any criticism, a minor one, not enough TV channels offered; too many sports channels and not enough other.

"Nice place"

mrksanb, Richmond, VT 29/11/2015

This hotel is really nice, has an awesome breakfast. Only things I noticed were the elevators are old and don't always respond when you push the button, but when they do respond, make sure you are out of the way of the door, because it closes fast. I also noticed that the door to the pool area was broken, so the pool area wasn't as secure as usual, and the noise carried into the lobby. Overall a very nice place, and I would definitely stay here again.

"Nice Stay"

Lawrence S, Weaverville, NC, United States 28/11/2015

Good accommodations for the price, Good location for the area of our visit. Restaurant/Bar is excellent. Room was very clean and well furnished. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem was we checked out at 4 am and could not find anyone at the desk.

"Better than I expected"

globetrottheworld, Lexington, Massachusetts 23/11/2015

I was warned by several of my colleagues that this would be a step down from the Hiltons and Marriotts that we usually stay in when we travel on business. I had no choice though, Waltham is one of the most under-available towns I have ever been in and on one such visit, it was either this or a town some distance away. Imagine my surprise then, when the staff at checkin was cheerful, engaging and efficient. The room itself had a balcony (unusual in that none of the hotels I stayed at here had one), although it is Waltham, not exactly much to view there. The room was standard modern day hotel room, nothing unsual there. Service was good enough, I don't think there was any breakfast (or at least one like the spread Marriotts/Hiltons put out), but I didn't want any, as I had a breakfast meeting. Parking is a little difficult as there is an onsite restaurant which is quite good by the way - we have eaten there even when not staying here. Those patrons probably use up quite a lot of parking spaces. Location is just right for almost all Waltham business meetings.

"Best Western Waltham, the "Best""

4readers, Teaneck, New Jersey 16/11/2015

Over the past year or so, this hotel as transformed into a model for all others. New, clean, and remodeled, they now offer fresh fruit as part of their breakfast choices. Great restaurant on premised. Highly recommended.

"J and B"

bradsk, Pittsfield, Massachusetts 07/11/2015

Visited this hotel 8 times in the past year while visiting family. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful and gone out of their way for us. The hotel has undergone extensive renovations so the accommodations are more than adequate .... Very comfortable beds. The complementary breakfast is in a bright, cheerful room with a helpful staff attendant present. There is a good selection of hot and cold items to choose from. Overall this hotel offers very excellent value.

"Overall incompetence"

User 04/11/2015

History of my recent experiences with Best Western 1. I checked into Best Western, Manchester NH on 10/20/2015. I was advised of a $25.00 credit for my second stay and was enrolled in this promotion. 2. On 10/28/2015 I checked into the same hotel and asked for my $25.00 credit. I was advised that I was not eligible for this credit because my reservation was made through Expedia not Directly with Best Western. I was not happy. 3. On 10/28/2015 I checked into Best Western,, Waltham MA and again I requested the credit. I was also advised that the credit did not apply because my reservation was made through Expedia. 1) Now comes my experience in Waltham: a) After check in went to my 4th floor room and my key could not unlock the door. I called from the house phone and was advised that someone would come up immediately. I impatiently waited about 5 minutes and a gentleman came up with new keys. He tried the door and was successful in unlocking the door. He handed the keys to me to try. I was unsuccessful. We both tried again and again and I could not consistently unlock the door. HE TOLD ME THAT I WAS NOT PROPERLY USING THE KEYS. He said he would come up again if was locked out but he was off duty at 11:00 PM. I told him I w anted an other room. He told me that this room was the last with one king size bed. I told him I wanted another room even if it had 2 queens. I told him that I wanted the room at the same price! He finally agreed to another room. b) I checked into the new room. The new room keys worked sometimes and sometimes required several attempts. The second room had a toilet seat that was not properly attached. The dead bolt was not operating properly. I complained and the toilet seat was repaired.. Later I was locked out of the new room. Another gentleman came up with new keys and these keys worked consistently until I checked out. c) I received an invoice for $189.99 per night plus tax despite my confirmed rate of $164.75 per night. I complained to the desk clerk who said she had to see my confirmation, I showed her my confirmation and she then said that the manager, Margo Fenton would have to adjust the bill. She asked for my email address and my phone number which I gave to the clerk. I was told that Ms. Fenton would be in around 1:00 PM and would contact me. At about 3:00 PM I called Ms.. Fenton and left a voice mail asking to be called. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALLL OR EMAIL FROM MS. FENTON. Please immediately issue a credit for $109.56 for the room overcharge and $25.00 credit for 2 stays. I also feel that an additional credit should be issued as partial compensation for the inconvenience to me.

"Perfect Weekend"

Satchmopj, East Northport, New York 26/10/2015

We came for the Brandeis Fall Fest weekend and everything was nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was friendly, and rates were good. We stayed last year and were happy to return. My son also moved to the area this year, so we will be looking forward to staying here more often! We would definitely recommend this hotel as we have in the past.

"TLC = Happy Lodging!"

Rich P, Nantucket, Massachusetts 26/10/2015

Whenever I need to travel to the Waltham area for appointments, I am always quite happy to utilize the Best Western TLC for the lodging component of my trip. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well stocked and serviced by an attentive housekeeping department. All the on-site amenities are present for a traveler's convenience or relaxation, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast, snack-shop, indoor pool, fitness facility, wide screen TVs, plentiful free parking, and a great lounge and restaurant. The excellent complimentary breakfast is presented in a spacious and spotless dining room. The hotel is conveniently located right off the interstate, and there is a gas station right next door. Having worked in the Hospitality Industry for many years, I truly appreciate the extremely high level of service and professionalism provided by the hotel's General Manager Margot Fenton, and her supervisory team such as Cindy Lara and Ruth St. Louis. The positive, polite, and accommodating tone set by the management is reflected in the entire hotel staff, whether it is the front desk, housekeeping, facilities staff, or the breakfast room staff. Happy traveler, Rich P.

"Good hotel for business visit"

PaulvanderZande, Hillegom, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands 24/10/2015

Good hotel for business visit to Waltham. Apart from business there is not anything to do in the area. The restaurant is good, there is also nearby a good seafood restaurant called "Naked Fish" (walking distance).

"Angry over attempted cancellation."

Michael R, Lake Lure, United States 20/10/2015

Nice folks at the hotel but too pricey. I confused the per night price of the stay with the total cost of the stay and booked the room on the internet. When I realized the real price and tried to cancel Best Western gave me a great reason to never use them again.

"Not worth stopping here"

Kathleen C, New York 19/10/2015

Had to find a place quick to attend a funeral in Burlington. The hotels in the area are over priced, and this one was within my price range. Hotel was old. It smelled musty. The rugs need replacing. Bed was fair, and breakfast was fair. Hotel provides coffee only at the reception. Won't return here.

"Clean, convenient, and comfortable."

SPXW_CL_Traveler, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 08/10/2015

This location is close to the interstate and has a great restaurant. It is convenient to Boston and surrounding towns and it clean and has well appointed rooms. The staff was very helpful and my stay here was very enjoyable. I'd stay here again and again.

"Great Value"

savvyshopper2015, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08/10/2015

"Nice hotel"

User 03/10/2015

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms. Good service. Nice breakfast. Good restaurants in the area. Good parking area and gas station near the hotel. I worked in the area, so it was 2 minutes from the work place.

"BW TLC is a great choice"

Alex G, Newington, United States 28/09/2015

I again stayed at the BW TLC and was glad I came back. Great staff, clean hotel, good restaurant, no problems. For a constant traveler, I like dependable hotel service and the BW TLC provides it. There are other local choices but I keep coming back to the BW due to the fact I never have a problem and the customer service is always excellent.

"Great location, amenities, and staff"

User 26/09/2015

Very friendly and accommodating staff, especially general manager, Margo Fenton. Great service. Extremely comfortable. Great smiles and friendly service at the lounge. Best beds I ever slept in. Fitness center and swimming pool, who could ask for more.

"Exercise room"

Annette H, Vancouver, Washington 23/09/2015

The exercise room was a welcome sight as I had just got off a long flight from Portland, OR to Boston. After using the treadmill and enjoying the exercise, I tried the weights. One of the cables broke, but when I talked to the Margot Fenton, the General Manager, the next day she said they would be fixed and ready for my next visit. When I came back 2 months later, they were repaired and all the equipment was just working well. I was very impressed with Margot's responsiveness to my request. It definitely made me feel good about my stay there both times.

"Surprisingly nice"

User 18/09/2015

I was in Waltham for business and there was a convention in town so my normal hotels were booked, a colleague recommended the Best Western so I decided to try it. Pleasant surprise, clean well lit room, good water pressure and it was nice and quiet. The on site restaurant was excellent and had craft beer and bourbon selections
