Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna

Excellent location, friendly and welcoming staff, big, nice room. Couldn't want for more. Just across the railwaystation - Mestre Venezia - so easy to and from the airport and to and from Venezia St Lucia. Can recommend it to everyone and will also be my preferred hotel in Venezia in the future.

Hotel was a great location for using the train. Just cross the street to the train station. Hotel was clean, no frills. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant was fine. I would recommend both the hotel and restaurant.

Hotel situated just in front of Mestre main station, very convenient place to travel , lots of places to eat and drink, reasonably safe but need to be aware when using local transport with pick pockets in progress . Staff were nice and we had a good breakfast. I will recommend this hotel for anyone looking for good transport links .

We had a 6:30am flight, and I wasn't comfortable staying on the island and trying to get to the airport at 3:30am, so we decided to book the night before on the mainland. The train to/from the island is only $1.40 and takes 10 minutes, so it's very easy to day trip to the island or Murano/Burano/etc. The location of this hotel absolutely can not be beat. We took the train from Santa Lucia to Mestre, walked out the door & across the street and we were at the hotel! It was perfect, because we wanted to drop our bags before heading to Murano, and it was super convenient to do so. The staff checked us in, and since our room wasn't ready, they held our bags & even delivered them to our rooms so they were waiting in there for us upon return. I was pleasantly surprised at how much nicer this hotel was than I expected it to be. There were two different types of pillows on the bed, which I greatly appreciated having a foam pillow option after a week of subpar pillows! Our only issue with the room was that we couldn't figure out how to turn the tv volume down that was playing in the bathroom! But not a big deal at all. The big windows tilted open for some fresh air, but the street noise was too loud to leave it open for long. (but the windows were good soundproofers!) If our flight wasn't so early, I would have appreciated the free breakfast! I thought it was a bit expensive for a best western, and is NOT on the island, but it served its purpose for us! For comparison - We paid around the same price for an apartment near St. Marks Square. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again!

Extremely close to the train station - it's barely a minute's walk. Room was fantastic, the ensuite bathroom was even better. There was a kettle and hair-dryer in the room which I appreciated using. Great breakfast options as well, and the checkout procedure was painless. The only negative was that the check-in took ages! There was just one staff, and he took so much time to process the check-in for the group before me that a queue started forming (around 4 other guests and me). Finally, his manager came out to help which controlled the situation somewhat, but a lot of time was wasted.

Pros:- 1. Located just 50 meters from the Venice Mestre train station and bus stop. Many restaurants and bars nearby for eg. MacDonalds, chinese and italian restaurants, cafes, bars nearby. All reasonably priced. 2. King sized bed provided. Huge bathroom as in hotel photos. 3. Buffet breakfast provided albeit limited without much meat. 4. Reception allowed bag storage while we buy train tickets and eat our lunch after checking out. Cons:- 1. No locks or security features on room door. Need to use chair to block the door. 2. Shower head located in the wrong place.

Very clean and well maintained hotel. Location is opposite to train station with little caution at nights.they even gave a better room when we requested. Good people working there. You can find lots of restaurants around this hotel. Very convenient.

Outstanding in every way. Convenient to station both for travel into Venice and onward. Restaurant was the best surprise of all - fabulous regional fare expertly prepared and beautifully served. We had a junior suite. The bathroom was as large as some hotel rooms. The was no view, but we were not there for the view.

We chose this hotel as a base for a trip to Venice since Mestre train station is across the street. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean.. Beds are comfortable, we loved the pillows. Bathroom was very clean Breakfast was very good, there was a great choice and the food was nice. Cooked rice was nice addition to regular italian offer. We had dinner in the restaurant, food was great, staff very kind and they accomodated all our special wishes. All in all comfortable and pleasant stay and a great base for exploring Venice. We will be back.

This hotel provided a great base for a trip to Venice - it is directly across the road from the Venice Mestre station. The hotel rooms were extremely spacious - two bedrooms in each room with nice fresh linen and towels. The hotel gym was also well equipped and clean. The car park was excellent very spacious, easy to find, and secure. Breakfast was very good, there was a great choice and the food was nice. The restaurant was also very nice and the staff were very good. All in all a great base for exploring Venice I would highly recommend.

Loved the hotel. We used the hotel parking. Check in was easy and Best Western status was recognized. Super friendly staff. Room was spacious and nice and cool despite the heat wave in Italy. Beds were very comfortable. Easy to reach Venice from the train station right across. Breakfast had a great variety.

The hotel is located 15 minutes away by train from Venice and the railway station is literally across the street from the hotel. My room was super modern, bright, impeccably clean with all amenities in perfect working conditions! Madame Chiara at the reception went out of her way to make my stay extra comfortable and told me everything I needed to know about visiting the beautiful Venezia! If I visit Venice again, I am only staying at this hotel! Thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality - you made my trip very memorable!

The hotel has an excellent location just across the street from the train station. It takes just minutes to catch a train for a quick 10 minute ride to Venice. The front desk personnel were both knowledgeable and friendly. The room was modern, spacious and very clean. Our room was cleaned very well every morning. There is a cafe in the hotel, though we did not take advantage of it. I recommend this hotel as a great base for exploring Venice.

Directly across from the train station and only 1 stop into Venice Santa Lucia station (11 min). Train tickets were only 1.45 euro one-way. Very affordable to go in and out of Venice. Hotel staff were very good. Room was comfortable and clean. Morning breakfast buffet was 10 euro per person. We spent only one night at the Hotel Bologna, which was very conveniently located across the road from the Venice Mestre train station – from where we were due to take a train the next morning. So this really was only a question of trying to find a place to spend a single night, with no great expectations of comfort or luxury. Somewhat to our surprise, this turned out to be a very nice stay. The hotel is modern and spotlessly clean. Our room was very nice and with a really large and great bathroom. The hotel restaurant was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ended up wishing that we had built a longer stay into our travel plans so that we could have enjoyed the Bologna for a few more days. All in all a very nice, well-run and conveniently-located hotel!

VERY clean, with comfortable good-looking spaces both public and private. Staff is remarkably helpful and even cheerful. Fabulous firm bed and pillows. Good breakfast buffet with lots of choices. If you can't stay in Venice proper for whatever reason, this is a great alternative esp. if you are traveling by train. Mestre station is literally right across the street.

Lovely comfortable hotel opposite the railway station and only 1 stop into Venice centre by train. Our room was large, very bright and clean. We had bed and breakfast for 1 night, there was plenty to choose from and well served. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent plus reasonably priced. There is a friendly bar serving a good choice. Would definitely recommend for those who want to go into Venice and want a reasonably priced hotel.

Our room did not have air-conditioning and was actually blowing hot air. It was the middle of the night when we discovered this so we just opened our windows for the night and decided to deal with it in the morning. When we awoke the next morning, we were filled with mosquito bites so much so my face swelled up like a balloon. We consulted with the front desk and were met with rude, unprofessional responses. In addition, we had to wait an hour for a hotel manager to arrive. We were told that Italy as a whole has to turn air-conditioning off at the beginning of September. I would believe this except every other hotel we stayed in had it. In addition, our hotel confirmation and the paper given to us at check-in both stated that air-conditioning was a room amenity. This was our final 2 days of a 2 week trip in Italy. Every other hotel, including other Best Westerns we had stayed in, had air-conditioning. I highly recommend finding another hotel to stay in. Stay away from this one.

My stay at the Best Western was full of positives. Location was amazing, right in front of the Mestre station. Very close walk, easy for commute with big luggages. After a long day exploring Venice, the short walk is really what you need back to the hotel! There are bakeries, pizza joints, Chinese restaurants and even a supermarket down the same street. The room was super clean, with a nice spacious bathroom. Layout was modern, lighting was great and had amenities you need. Room make up crew was on point, tidied up just perfectly and prompt with your requests. Overall a very comfortable stay, a luxury for this price point and location!

Booked this hotel in 2019 and had to wait until Oct 2022 due to pandemic. Jessica from the front office sorted out all my paperwork she was so helpful nothing was too much trouble. All the hotel staff were extremely professional from front of house to cleaning staff, could not fault anything. The hotel is directly opposite the railway station also bus number 2 both go directly to Venice Plaza Roma takes about 10/15 minutes. Also the airport shuttle bus stops in the coach station next to the railway. There are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby, the hotel restaurant is very good. Breakfast served from 6.30, buffet style, plenty of choice, cold meats,sausage,breads, fruit,yoguart,cake,cooked eggs, bacon,juice,coffe,tea. Rooms very spacious , comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms, good shower. Hotel is run like clockwork would recommend it 100% .

Upon arriving in Italy and prior to the check-in hours, staff greeted us and made us feel like they knew us. They held our luggage while we toured for the day prior to check-in. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel is near airport, about a 15 minute taxi drive and across the street from the train station. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The surrounding area seemed less than ideal as far as but none the less convenient for what our needs and purpose was. Train ride was about 10 minutes into Venice, 2.5 hr to Milan.

Located directed across the street from the train station, this elegant hotel increases the value of the BW brand. Very cost-effective option with large, clean, and secure rooms and nice restaurant. Comp breakfast was outstanding. Having stayed in 210 hotels over last 40 months, we highly recommend this property!

We stayed here on 29-31st July. Lovely clean, modern hotel which is well placed if you wish to go to sightseeing in Venice. The rail station is conveniently situated across the road, so no stress there. The rooms were bright and airy with en-suites. The reception staff were very polite and knowledgable of the area and were able to advise us for any queries we had. The restaurant and bar were also very good. A huge shout out to Christiana, our waitress/server on the first night who helped us with our Italian with patience and good humour. Will definitely stay at Best Western Bologna when visiting Venice again.

I reserved there a room for 250 eur/night in july for 3 nights i stayed only 1 night.... The rooms are dirty,the breakfast is bad.For sure this is not a 4 star hotel.Is more like 2 star hotel with 4 star hotel price. Dont go there.

I stayed in this hotel at Mestre two nights from 15 to 17 June 2022 to visit tourist attractions in Venice. Hotel is located just opposite to main central train station at Mestre. Location of this hotel is very convenient to travel to Venice using one of the several trains running at frequent intervals between Mestre and Venice taking just 8-10 minutes, ticket price is Euro 3 to 6. Staff of the hotel was very cooperative. I arrived late evening at the airport and requested the reception desk of the hotel from the airport to arrange sandwiches for me – they happily did though the restaurant was closed. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was good. I would prefer to stay again in this hotel when I visit Venice.

Lovely hotel,friendly and helpful staff Very handy for train to Venice or most places in Italy Room a good size,clean and fresh. Bar not got a great atmosphere a bit sterile. Beds very comfortable,free wifi and breakfast in our deal which I consider excellent value

We stayed here for just 1 night on the 16th of June before heading home (I don't remember the room number ). We were lucky enough to check in super early. Our room was facing a wall but we didn't bother much with it, since we were out for the whole day. Clean and simple room with everything you need, friendly professional staff, right next to the train station, easy to commute to Venice. Breakfast was good with a lot of selections.

This is a great hotel - clean, quiet, up to date with restaurant attached for breakfast and right across the street from the Miestre train station. Travelling by train, this hotel makes it easy, Staff was very helpful and couple of blocks to a grocery store if needed.

I visited in late April for 5 days with a friend who has a visual impairment. We couldn't have enjoyed a better experience thanks especially to an exemplary staff team. Close to city centre and transport links, spacious, well - furnished rooms and an excellent in - house restaurant. I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly for superb customer care and welcoming, friendly, always helpful staff. Thanks to Loredana, Maria, Leo, Pedro, Domenico and star of the show Signore Fabio. Everything was outstanding here, from the initial check in to dining. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean and made up every day. The dining experience was great, the restaurant was fantastic with the beef steak one of the best I've ever had, Breakfast was great with a good choice of hot and or continental options. The location was perfect, just cross the road and catch the train to the islands for 2Euroes. I honestly can't fault this Hotel, I would recommend to anyone that's visiting this fantastic City.

We stayed for two nights Dec 30-31, 2021. We were looking for three rooms at a reasonable rate at a hotel WITH parking and this hotel fit the bill. The location is in an ok neighborhood about 12 minutes by train from the heart of Venice. It's across the street from the train station so accessing the city is super easy and affordable. Breakfast is good, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The towels are nice and fluffy. The showers are huge walk in showers which is hard to find in Italy sometimes. There's an amazing local bakery about three blocks away - don't miss it. the staff was very helpful with finding covid test locations as well - there's a pharmacy about five minutes walk from the hotel. We will stay here again if we visit Venice. Super convenient!

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Venice, reception area not great, but some pleasant staff. I wouldn't class it as a 4 Star, but room & bathroom was nice & clean, AC worked. Area outside ok, some dodgy people standing around, quite a few shops around, nothing special. The train station was just over the road, has good sandwiches & pastries. Train into Venice takes around 10-15 mins, only a couple of euros each, not worth taking the car in. There's a secure car park at the back that's not bad priced. Restaurant in hotel, quite expensive, we didn't have food there so can't comment on breakfast etc. Despite taking precautions I got quite a few mosquito bites while staying in this place. Venice was great though, but very tiring.

We stayed here from July 23-26. We arrived around 20:00 to check-in and to our surprise we got a free upgrade to a suite room. With current COVID-19 hygiene recommendations. You will notice a lot of hand sanitizers in the hotel. Masks are mandatory when not in your rooms. Checking in was smooth and within 10 minutes we are already in our room. The rooms and bathroom is very clean and spacious. My wife and I like our bed hard and the one we have in our rooms is just perfect! The room comes with an very quite AC. We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night and we enjoyed the food! I recommend the mixed fried seafood. It's delicious! The hotel is located directly in front of the Mestre train station and is a good 10 minute train ride to Venice. Breakfast is good and they have a very good selection of bread, cold cuts, bacon, eggs, cold and hot drinks. Expect a line though because guests are not allowed to handle the food buffet directly because of COVID-19 hygiene restrictions but it's not so bad. The good breakfast you'll get is worth the occasional wait. If you do not want to eat at the hotel restaurant. There is a very good Chinese restaurant in front just a little bit to the front and left of the main entrance. The restaurant serves very good Chinese food which I thought I could not get outside of Asia :-) trust me! Parking in the back is large and can accommodate I think up to 30 vehicles easy. There is also a Mcdonald's at the train station. Overall our stay was great! The hotel is quite and clean and the staff are great! I highly recommend this hotel to everybody and I will definitely comeback when we are in Venice again!

This is the 2nd time we have visited Venice and the 2nd time we have stayed here and i must say it was perfect again. The hotel is situated right opposite the train station so a quick 10 min train ride into Venice is very easy (1.30 Euro) its also very easy to get from the airport to the hotel (ATVO coach 8 euro) The staff at the hotel are excellent and the rooms are very comfortable, breakfast was (7 euro) and you can eat as much as you want from the buffet which was very nice. The restaurant was fantastic great food excellent wine Daniel the Waiter/front of house was very helpful and polite. when we return we will book here again

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were fabulous. My wife and I had a triple room with our youngest child and this was perfect - there was a separate area with the single bed which even had a second tv. Extremely helpful and friendly reception staff. My only reason for not giving a 5 was the breakfast. Ok as far as breakfasts go it was probably ok but having just been at hotels in Germany it was a bit of a come down in terms of less selection. The bacon soaking in oil was also a bit off putting. All in all though my family was happy and my teenage boys enjoyed the gym

It is difficult to find any better option in Venezia Mestre. Clean, new, roomy, excellent breakfast, staff very kind and accommodating. All with a very reasonable price! Location is good too: you can jump into the train at Mestre (in front of the hotel) and it's just one station away from Venezia Santa Lucia.

We arrived in Venice by train and were flying out of Marco Polo airport the next day, so the location was perfect. Five minutes' walk from the train to the front desk, and the next morning five minutes' walk again to the bus station where the direct airport buses leave from. The hotel itself is modern and has good facilities. Check-in was fast and easy. Our room was very modern with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a good shower. (The TV speakers being linked to the bathroom took a bit of getting used to though, as did the fact the bathroom windows aren't fully frosted). I slept very well, despite being near a very busy road, train station and car park - I didn't hear any of it. (We were on, I think, the 4th floor.) A very good, cost-effective alternative to staying in the more touristy part of Venice.

This hotel was an excellent find. Staff were super attentive and helpful. The rooms were tastefully laid out and furnished, and the breakfast buffet was great. What was really frosting on the cake was that it was very conveniently located across the street from the train station. Now you might expect that such a hotel would be a bit noisy with all those trains coming and going. Not at all! This was an exceptionally quiet hotel and I slept very well. The new carpets in the hall had a very low nap which made it much easier to push our luggage through. The breakfast buffet had some really tasty local cakes/pastry out which made breakfast nice. We need transport from the hotel to the airport and it was only 60 Euros for the five of us and all our massive luggage.

Our group of 32 stayed here for just one night. This hotel is in a great location, as it is directly across the street from the train station, which will take you across the water to Venice (the island). This proved much more affordable and easy (given the size of our group) than arranging accommodation within Venice. The hotel was clean and spacious, and the front desk workers were helpful. You know you are booking a Best Western, so you know not to expect the Ritz, but you will find a perfectly fine hotel with clean rooms.

This is my 10th time here. Instead of staying in Venice on the island and dealing with luggage - I always choose this hotel. The rooms are great. The staff amazing. The ability to walk across the street and take the train to Venice in 10 minutes and a restaurant that has the best food. For me, I would always choose this place!

I stayed in the hotel in Oct 2019, they gave me a free upgrade when they know I need two beds, I was very grateful for that. The front desk people are extremely nice , the best hospitality I felt in Italy. By the way, the Chinese restaurant across the street is authentic and yummy!

The hotel was at a wonderful location-right in front of the train station. The room was spacious and very clean. All staffs were very helpful at request. Had a wonderful night. Breakfast was also decent.

Very nice hotel with great location, less than two minutes walk from central station. Take the train to Venice is only 1.35 euro. Excellence breakfast and the front desks, Jessica and Micro, are very friendly and helpful.

Few steps from the train station to Venezia. Still the price is reasonable. Room was nothing special i would say better 3 stars, but you dont expect to spend much time in the room. We took also breakfast which is rather avarage one, but good enough to start the tour. In the evening you can find some restaurants around for dinner, we were always satisfid.

This hotel had the largest, most well appointed rooms in our three week visit to Italy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they were even kind enough to store our luggage prior to check in. I only wish we could have spent more time here. The location is really good, across the street from the train station, many restaurants close by. We will stay here again.

This hotel was fine. Good location to the train station. When we checked in there was only 1 person at the desk and about 10 people waiting to check in. Our room again was fine but the room would not get cool and we were hot all night. We opened the windows but people were smoking outside so we had to close them. Again this is a nice hotel our experience was just ok.

The location is perfect, next near the Venice mestre railway station and airport bus station, very convenient. The room is spacious and looks like suite. The interior design is mainly simple and bright style. Besides, the room price includes breakfast but is very reasonable. If you don't want to carry your luggage to walk in the narrow roads in Venezia districts, this hotel may be an option.

Totally it was not a bad hotel but it seems that it's a 3 star hotel , the room was too small , it had a very brief break fast ,the servicing persons are friendly but more of them can not speak english .

This is a great hotel just outside of Venice and right on the train line, only a few stops and you're in Venice. There are also some great restaurants right by the hotel. Rooms were modern and clean and very reasonable.

This hotel is across the road from the train station with great transport to many of the main cities. In addition it is only a short train ride from Mestre to Venice. It is also possible to get a bus from the bus station which is situated to the right of the train station. Travel time to Venice is approx 15 mins and the bus stops directly at Piazzale Roma where you can board a vaporetto with several routes to choose from. Worth pointing out that the 24, 48 and 72 hour vaporetto passes also include free bus travel.. The hotel itself is modern and the rooms are spacious, well equipped and extremely clean. The staff on reception were friendly and very informative. We had breakfast in the hotel and it provided a range of options which catered to the tastes of the various hotel guests. Only issue was the noise from the pedestrian crossing outside the hotel - even with the windows closed this noise was persistent - our room was at the west side of the hotel so perhaps light sleepers would want to be at the east side ... We would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel is right across from the train station. A 5 min ride into Venice. Was very convenient to go by train to Rome. Breakfast is available as well as evening Meals at the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious and clean. King beds are available and the price is good. We stayed here for a week and got to know the area and it's various restaurants within a short walk as well as shopping. I would definitely stay here again. A short taxi ride to pier for cruising. Taxi ride from airport was about 15 min.

This hotel is right across the street from the Venice - Mestre station. Made for easy trips to Venice, Rome and Cortina. I would stay here in a heartbeat rather than staying in Venice and having to haul luggage from the train station to the hotels in Venice as none are near the station. The room was very quite and you can get to Venice for 3.5 Euro round trip on the train.

This hotel is in a great position. 5 minutes train ride to Venice and good value for money. The area is slowly improving and I guess in 5 years it will be revamped. The hotel is clean, staff friendly and plenty of room in your room.

The room was very nice, very spacious and so was the bathroom. The shower was big and I loved the fact that they have an actual hair dryer, not those mini ones that are attached to the wall that barely does something. The location is great, you literally just have to cross the street and there's the train station, especially if you wanna visit Venice. The service was also very good, the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly.

My husband and I stayed here the night before a flight. It was a comfortable stay and good value for the money. It was a quick drive to the airport, only about 15 min. We did not use the train, but it's perfectly situated near the station and from my research, well connected to Venice. Would for sure consider staying another time.

A really convenient hotel located right by the train station, it made for quick visits to Venice a breeze. Check-in & out was smooth, and there's an option (costs money though) for later check-outs if you want to extend your stay! Bed was comfortable, and the room was spotless & clean. Bathrooms were really large, which was a huge plus. At the train station there are lots of quick service cafe, restaurants, and convenience stores if you need anything.

I was very surprised by the service I received at this Best Western. The hotel is very clean and modern. This was my first trip overseas. I checked into the hotel from coming off a seven day cruise with children and grand children. The receptionist was helpful and considerate. She made sure that my daughter and grandchildren had a family room, And I had a room all to myself. How thoughtful of her. I loved the rainfall shower and shower stick. It was so relaxing. The big screen TV on the wall and the remote control windows gave me a touch of luxury. The restaurant in the hotel is called Datura and the staff is so attentive. The head waiter, Daniel, cared for our every need and really cared about how we felt about our meal. The food was tasty and delicious. If every I return to Venice, I will make sure I state at the Best Western Plus in Bologna. I am telling all my fiends about my stay.

This hotel is across the street from the Mestre train station which provides quick frequent service to and from Venice. It meets the expectations of most tourists with relatively spacious and bright rooms. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Bkfst is included and fine. If you want to visit Venice but avoid the hassles of staying in the old town, this is a great base for your visit.

Travelling alone with my one year old kid. Stayed for two nights. Waiter/ waitress not attentive at all for bringing a baby chair. Needed to stand and wait like an idiot two mornings in a row in front of the table, while the staffs were busy chit chatting and clean up other tables. Felt like one younger waitress and one mid-age waiter were just avoided eye contacts to customers in case they had to do some "extra" works. First day we arrived the room had shower to refresh. A female staff came into our room all in sudden while I was with my towel on. We were both shocked and she said" it's ok, no problem" (!!!) Unbelievable!! Second day evening we came back to hotel room with tired body. Walked all the way to end of the corridor and found out the key card didn't work anymore! Unbelievable!!

Great rooms and service. Lovely hotel away from the Venice crowds yet only a 15 minute train ride to Venice. The staff is super friendly and go out of their way for you. Right across from the train station!

Very convenient location. Staff were very welcoming and very helpful . Super fast checkin and checkout. 2 min from the train and Bus station just across the street. The room is big very comfy and clean. A parking lot (paid) next to the hotel.

Lovely clean hotel, perfectly suited for visiting Venice. No need to drag your luggage through Venice's narrow alleyways and over cobbled bridges to reach your hotel - instead stay here, check your bags and take the train into Venice. It's just a 2-min walk from the hotel to Mestre station, tickets can be bought from easy-to-use ticket machines at the station (we paid about 4€ each way total for 2 adults and 1 child), trains are very frequent and it takes about 10 minutes to get right into the heart of Venice. (Just remember to validate your ticket before boarding the train using the machines that are at the entrance to each platform.) The only thing that's not perfect at this hotel is the breakfast - it's fine but not particularly good; the bacon and eggs weren't that nice but if you stick to a proper continental breakfast it's OK. Would definitely stay again.

The room was the most spacious room we have ever stayed in! All the amenities were amazing too. Large HD tv, high speed internet, amazing shower. The only bad thing I can say is the breakfast isn't very good. The hotel is super convenient if you're here to see Venice. 30 second walk to the train station with trains leaving every 10 minutes. And after being in the hustle and bustle of Venice it's really nice to come back to this beautiful room and chillax.

I have spent months, with breaks, in this hotel, from 12/2018 till 08/2019. Always a good stay, always a good room, good staff, good breakfast. It was, like it should be. The wifi was very fast and i liked the Bar too. The Parking Space is a little complicated, because you have to ring the bell all the time you entering and leave.

Stayed here for two nights when visiting venice. Has car parking on site and is located next to mestre train station. Reception also supply ACTV travel cards which allows bus travel to & from venice from bus stop over the road, and also covers use of vaporettos. Breakfast was excellent & plentiful. Room was a juni9r suite which was large & also had a large bathroom with separate shower & bath. Really great value hotel

Despite the misleading name, this hotel has a great location just opposite the railway station at Venezia Mestra (with just a short train transfer to Venice). Our room (320) was large and spacious. It overlooked a side road and was reasonably quiet. The bed was good and the mattress was comfortable as were some of the pillows (some were rather hard). The lighting was good and the cupboard was OK. The room also had a small table and a desk. The WIFI was good and there was a security safe. The Air Con worked well. The bathroom was OK but had an unpleasant odour. As we were only staying for one night, we left the bathroom window open overnight and this seemed to help a little. The shower worked well. The hotel breakfast was reasonable: there was a good selection of cold meats and a few different cheeses. The fresh bread was nice. The muesli and tinned fruit were also OK. The scrambled egg tray looked unappealing. The cappuccino coffee from the machine was surprisingly good. Staff members were friendly, and check-in and check-out were quick and efficient.

Excellent hotel for short stay and visit Venice. Room was very clean, it has very confortable bathroom , breakfast delicious with a lot of fruit, prosuto and pastery. Personality is very helpfull and polite.

We were extremely pleased with this hotel. Location is excellent being across from the train station that takes you right into Venice. The rooms were redone and beautiful including the bathroom. The service at front desk was outstanding with a warm, caring staff including Lino who went out of his way to please us. The American buffet breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and many choices. It is far easier to lug suitcases there rather than attempting to stay in Venice, especially with the heat. And there are restaurants nearby to walk to that the hotel can recommend if you don't feel like going into Venice and avoiding crowds when first arriving. The rooms are also incredibly clean. We can't say enough things about it! Thank you!

Pros: Very clean, nice renovated facilities (one of the cleanest hotels among others I visited). Location right across from the train station (you can't beat this). Breakfast good price (only 7 euro) for decent options (quantity than quality, you know). Cons: Not the kind of Best-Western hospitality I expected; some foreigners in front of me were chided that no one with their passport names was booked, but then their group travelers said a kind of leader's name, and it was all taken care of (the way those ladies were initially treated was condescending, borderline rude, as though shaming “you did not book at our hotel”; well, they did). I walked across the street to Hotel Plaza to get trip information and tips and they were more courteous. My own room had strange odor in the bathroom (similar to sewer smell), but assuming that Venice sewage system might be old, I closed the bathroom door, no big deal. But when I checked out, I asked about this if this is common for all other rooms, the hotel staffs said that this is not common. They then said “sorry” and that was it; if the odor is indeed a problem, merely saying sorry was all they could do to customers, and it is disappointing for the kind of Best-Western hospitality the company usually promises. Extra tips: nearby restaurant “Bepi” arguably has the best seafood menus in town. In fact, restaurants in Venice tend to be less authentic, more tourist-geared; overall we are satisfied with this hotel in Mestre.

We have stayed in this hotel many times on visits to Venice. Much better priced and modern hotel just across the road from the railway station. A 1.5 Euro, 10 minute train journey into Venice main railway station is really handy. The rooms are smart and spacious and the food is excellent.

During our Mediterranean vacation, we decided to stay just outside of Venice. We chose Mestre. This Best Western is basically across the street from the train station, which runs throughout Italy. We arrived early-before noon (hot and bedraggled, having taken a bus from the pier where our cruise had ended). We were planning on leaving our luggage at the hotel and checking in later. Good news though-they had a room ready for us. It was wonderful to be able to check in early and rest a bit and clean up before venturing out and going into Venice proper. The room was beautiful! There were 3 of us and it had 1 bedroom with large bed, then another small area with a twin bed. The bathroom was huge. In the European way, you have to put the key card in the slot to access the electricity. Even though they told us at the desk, we couldn't figure out where the slot was. Fortunately a housekeeper was a few doors away and she graciously showed us how. Room amenities included excellent internet access, 2 TVs (which had sound pumped into the bathroom! ). We enjoyed watching women's World Cup Soccer-USA v. France. There was a hot water kettle and instant coffees and teas. There were complimentary slippers. Beds were comfortable with several pillows. There were 2 elevators. The location was in walking distance to many restaurants and stores. We were extremely happy with this place and would return. Highly recommend.

Loved the minimalistic feel of the rooms, also the constellations on the night stands was a lovely touch! Bathrooms were amaaazing! Breakfast was also quite ok but i did expect a bit more for the price we paid!

- great location , just across the street from the mestre station - big room and bathroom , average toiletries - very friendly staff (Mirco was very nice and professional at the reception and gave us a lot of good tips) - cleanliness was up to par - the bed was a bit too firm - there's a good supermarket just 5 min walk north of the hotel on the same street - average breakfast but good value for money - there's a mobile shop almost the opposite of the hotel —> try to avoid it ! Very dodgy . We asked for a SIM card and the owner just pulled one out of his pocket , not sealed and tried to convince us to buy it ! But they also have a lot of mobile accessories . If you're looking for a SIM card , there's a TIM store about 7 min walk north of the hotel on the same street or you can buy a Vodafone one at the currency exchange place in the mestre train station . 18 G for 25 euros .

Stayed here during a visit to Venice, as we were recommended this hotel by a friend. It's right across the road from the station which was perfect for us, you can just jump on a train to Venice for €1.50 each way and they run very regularly, take around 10 minutes so super convenient. We much preferred this to carrying our luggage around Venice itself and staying in a hotel there. Breakfast was pretty standard, a bit small and the tables weren't turned around very efficiently in my opinion; when it was busy you'd have to wait for a table to be cleaned. Staff were friendly enough, room was very big and bathroom was big too with a bathtub and separate shower. Oh and this was the only hotel we stayed in which had a proper hairdryer, although it didn't have good toiletries (just a single dispenser on the wall which had shower gel and shampoo in 1). We were really happy overall with our stay here.

Great value for the money: room was decent, bed was fairly comfortable for the price, restaurant and bar was really nice! Staff was good. Area was directly across from a large train station, which was handy. But it took my 1st visit to Venice to realize your hotel really needs to be IN Venice. Not 20-30 minutes away. Once your train arrives at the station in Venice,you wait for a leisurely paced boat shuttle on the canal to the main attraction of St Marks Square which can take a good long while.The speedboat taxis are super fun and fast AND $$$: $50 euros is their going rate one way. After a long day of sightseeing and eating & drinking wine, the putt putt shuttle and then the train back to Mestre station is sort of like waiting for the bus outside of the Magic Kingdom at the end of the night to take you back to your hotel. Capeche?

from the outside it looks very old but from the inside the hotel is very beautiful. large and clean rooms. a parking place behind the hotel with a passageway to the lobby. across the street is the train station.

This is the second time we have stayed here whilst visiting Venice. The hotel is located next to Mestre station so easy access to Venice. The reception staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms were quiet and well appointed. We paid extra for a suite but the standard double room was more than adequate. The breakfast was lovely and the Illy cafe incorporated into the hotel was a great place to sit and watch the world go by. I would definitely recommend this as a better value alternative to staying in Venice.

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Dinners were excellent. Normally I don't eat in hotel restaurants but this one is the exception. Excellent food (try the sea bream) and wine was excellent. Nice meal for a very reasonable price. Try the 903 Barrique grappa. Very smooth.

I was very pleased with the location of the hotel being right across the street from the train station was very convenient. The staff was friendly, the room was very nice however, it was a big inconvenience every time I left my room and had to come back my door key wouldn't work. I only stayed 3 nights and each time I complained they send someone up with me and they to couldn't open my door. I nearly missed my train to Rome messing around with staff members who wouldn't take my word that my key wasn't working. The hotel was undergoing renovations so perhaps the key not working may have had something to do with the new doors on the 1rst floor I was in room 124. Also, I'm not sure what the reasoning was but I didn't get a good nice rest the bed was not comfortable perhaps that will be addressed in the renovations process and I also recommend installing ice machines on every floor if you got back late to your room and the bar was closed you had no access to getting ice.

Best feature is it's just 3 mins walk from Mestre train station. Room is spacious and new. Nice modern deco. But let down by service and lack of attention to detail. When we got in to our room, there were more than ten flies flying around. The reception sent a staff immediately armed with a can of insecticide and we asked to leave the room we think (he can't speak English and we can't understand Italian). We were quite horrified because of possible poison. Left with no choice, we left the room. On return one hour later there were still some flies but no bad smell. We just put up with them. On top of this issue, the soap container was empty and tissue box was empty which the staff quickly replace. The next day after room service has cleaned our room, there were no toilet paper at all (this is a first for us in all our travel). Called reception, more than an hour later, still none were delivered. Had to call a second time for staff to take action. Nice hotel but let down by service.

I had a great time in the hotel. Everything is new, comfy bed, and beautiful place. Very close to the ttain station. Lino - works in the lobby, was super nice and very helpful. He helped us with the tickets to Venice, and was very helpful. Lino, you are number 1!

I traveled with my sister. As two seniors we were concerned about safety. The hotel is well situated. Right across from the train station. We boarded the train there to Venice Santa Lucia to see the gondolas. Felt safe all the times. I only wish the restaurant food on site was better. But there is no 100% happy medium. I would not mind returning there again or to recommend it.

Good location, across road is the Venezia Mestre Station. One stop to Venezia Santa Lucia Station. Very convenient for transportation, either into or out of Venice. Room is clean, tidy and spacious. Simple interior design. Free and fast WIFI. Good service. Breakfast is great, an abundant buffet with various sorts of delicious food. A nice hotel. I'll stay at this hotel next time.

Great location for accessing Venice though Mestre itself is not great. Our room was clean and did the job. Cannot really comment on the air-conditioning as we didn't need to use it due to cooler weather during our stay. I would like to especially thank the friendly staff, in particular Morino, who assisted me in the early hours of the morning when I took unwell and required a 24hr pharmacy. Morino searched online for any local pharmacies that were open and even phoned the pharmacy to check they had what I needed before travelling to it. Many thanks!

Our Family group of 8 stayed here in January what a great time we had! Mestre is ideal as we are across the road from the Station where we left for Genoa. Not only was the Hotel good the Restaurant was the best seafood we had all holiday! Some of the meals were spectacular, so good we came back from Venice just to dine there. Staff were a gem!

The hotel had a perfect localization in front of the train station (Venice mestre). It takes only 10 minutes to get to Venice Santa Lúcia. The room was huge, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was great, it will be better if there's more fresh fruit available. We took a bus from the airport (ativo) and we get off on the Venice mestre train station.

Myself and my husband stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is very clean and modern. Comfy beds. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Ideal location for commuting in to Venice, right opposite the train station and bus stops. We paid 7 euros for the breakfast which was very nice. Would highly recommend.

Definitely a 4.5 stars stay experience. I will stay there again next time. Room is a little far and it's end of hallway/building, but it's newly remodeled and very clean. I'll definitely walk 3 extra minutes for that.

I stayed for two nights with my 7 year old son in the Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna. The hotel was very easy to get to from the Treviso airport, the bus leaves you just across the road. The train station is also right across the road and it costs €2.70 return to Venice. There are trains every ten minutes and the journey takes about ten minutes. The hotel itself was great. I can't really fault it at all. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, spacious, bright and comfortable. The street outside wasn't noisy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in the hotel one of the mornings which cost €7. It was fine, pretty much what you expect food wise with a selection of meat, cheese, pastries, bread, eggs etc. It did get quite busy at one point. All in all I would really recommend the place for anyone looking for a reasonably priced modern hotel close to Venice.

I spend more than 40 Nights in this Best Western Bologna Hotel. My stay was allways excellent. I stayed here for business, but the Mestre train station is only 100m away, so its easy to take a train to Venice, even for a short visit of Venice in the evening. The hotel and the staff is excellent, if you have a problem it will be solved within minutes. The bar and the wifi is fine, even if you need it for business.

We could not have wished of better hotel, it was perfect for our visit to Venice. All transport links are available: no 15 bus from the airport, about 30 mins and very regular, return costs €8. Mestre train station opposite the hotel with direct links into Venice (Santa Lucia) about every 10 mins for a 10 minute train journey, €1.40 one way trip, last train back to Mestre 23:45. Hotel was clean, modern and had all the facilities required. The staff were very helpful and breakfast good. The immediate area in Mestre has some great bars and restaurants. We mainly walked up to the main piazza, drank wine and watched the world go by. Highly recommended hotel we will definitely go back, the train has all the links to explore other regions of Italy

First visit to Venice with my husband, and chose to stay here after reading good reviews. We were not disappointed. On check in we were welcomed by Mirko, who was professional and friendly. We were upgraded free to a superior room which was a lovely start to our break. The room was on the top floor, quiet, light and spacious, with a great bathroom with walk in shower. The view showed the back of the hotel with the Alps in the distance. Bed was large and comfortable, and the room was serviced every day. Air con seemed to be disabled but as it was March this wasn't a huge problem, and it was a comfortable temperature anyway. We had breakfast twice at the hotel; really good value at 7 Euros each, with a good choice from pancakes, cereal, toast, meats, cheeses, and even rice, mixed veg etc, and fruit and fresh coffee and juices. A great international mix use the hotel, and it was interesting to see the different choices of breakfast from different nations! Location was as brilliant as described by others; right across from the rail station, and regular trains into Venice, costing only 1.35 euros per journey, and taking around 10 minutes. A really nice modern hotel, with efficient and friendly staff. Only small negative for us was at night the waft of cigarettes from a room nearby or underneath did seem to carry into our room at night, but other than that, a fantastic stay and we would return without a doubt. This hotel is right across from the train station and is convenient if you're visiting Venice. We arrived at 10:30 in the evening after traveling from the west coast of the USA. Check-in was fast. Our room was spacious and very clean. It had recently been remodeled. We were on the second floor facing the train station so it got a little noisy at night if we opened our window. Once we closed the window the noise level dropped. We bought ACTV passes each day at the hotel for $20. It is good for 24 hours.This allowed us to take the bus to and from Venice everyday. The pass was also good for the water busses once we arrived in Venice. The bus trip took 15 minutes. With this pass we were also able to visit the other islands near Venice. The breakfast was served until 10:00 am had many American foods which was great for my picky husband. We took the train to Florence for a few days and the location was convenient since it was right across the street. There are also many restaurants nearby for dining out. There were no unexpected charges on our bill when we checked out. The staff is very helpful and will offer tips when asked.

We've stayed in this hotel during our visit in Venice in period of carnival. The location of this Hotel is great, just in front of Mestre rail station , despite of location there was no outside noise in our room at all. the room was excellent: everything was clean and new and spacious (room number 128) breakfast is OK , but could be better (no vegetables at all) I suppose its a good value for your money , if you compare to Venice prices especially in the period of carnival.

We chose here as we had a car and were travelling through but wanted to see Venice. It was actually a really great choice as the price was fantastic for the hotel - it was new, clean and modern with lovely big rooms and a large breakfast choice. Easy to find plus parking on-site. The location was straight across the road from the train station for a ten minute ride into Venice.

We chose to stay in Mestre to get away from the Carnival Crowds and overpriced hotel options in Venice at this time. The Best Weatern Plus Hotel Bologna is all of the following : Excellent transport location (train and bus stations just over the road) Close to car rental agencies (just around the corner) Offers on site parking (at a fee) The hotel room we chose was very spacious and clean, excellent bathroom amenities and in fact everything that a traveller may need are available in the room. Downside is the proximity to the main road outside which did become a little noisy at times but truly bearable. I would definitely recommend this establishment as a good place to stay to visit Venice and the surrounding area.

See Venice and stay at a comfortable, well priced hotel and avoid the high prices of the Venice hotels. The train is right across the road and will take you into the heart of Venice....don't forget to eat Gelato!

We used this hotel for a one night stopover for an early flight out of Venice. After spending the night on the island a few times for this kind of quick visit and enduring a creepy and expensive pre-dawn water taxi ride (usually 150 euros or so) we decided it was worth it to stay on the Mestre side for an early flight. You cross the street, take the train 2 stops onto the island of Venice, it's quite easy to get to the action! This hotel is quiet, clean, newer and very functional for tourists or business travelers.

Hotel is almost on a 15 mint bus ride from the main airport.A bus leaves directly from the airport and takes you to the hotel.Hotel is on 2 mints walk away from the bus stop and less than 30 sec walk from the train station. Why i gave 4 star for the sleep quality is because of the fact, management need to use fabric softener for the bed sheets, otherwise it feels very crispy.

We had a two night stay. Actually we were struggling whether to stay here or on the island. Fortunately we made a great choice. We arrived in a late night. The hotel was indeed steps from the train station. You could never miss it when you exit the terminal. The check in was very smooth and we were given a much larger room than we booked. The hotel also provided slippers. The room was quiet other than the time when housekeeper walks through. We booked the rate with breakfast included, which is a great plus. The breakfast venue was in a Japanese style while the food was in an American style I guess. The coffee machine was from illy, top notch. During the entire visit, the staffs were always helpful every time we visited the front desk. They also offered infused water in the lobby which was another plus. We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Venice. The train is very convenient and the hotel worth every euro.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location right outside Mestre Railway Station. Spacious, airy room and bathroom. Loved the tea- and coffee-making facilities in the room and clear information about the late check-out. However, the hotel is overpriced like most of Venice and nearby. Also, the bed was made in a very weird way - duvet cover is not a single item but two separate sheets, so when you get into the bed it's very confusing and simply uncomfortable.

Had a very comfortable room looking out over the main road and Railway station. That said, the room was very quiet and comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Close to restaurants with a convenience store 5 minutes along the street. Breakfast was good with a wide choice. But if you choose to bring home a pizza and a bottle of wine remember to bring your own knife to cut the pizza and corkscrew for the wine. Like most hotels we stayed in in Europe, they don't come with the room - apparently BYO is a little known concept or discouraged.

7 days visiting Venice and friends that live around the area. Super convenient if you have a car as parking is right there. The room was super clean, housekeeping was amazing able to sneak in when I stepped out and make it look new. The staff, Jessica, Mirco, Andrea, Elena, Alessio aka Eric (I have him an American name) and everyone that worked at the bar and restaurant - you always make this trip special and I feel like the value of the hotel and the 5 star service makes this a hidden gem. We haven't stayed at this hotel but we visit it about twice a day to have coffee and snacks in the cafe. The service is extra good, the coffee spot on and the snacks are interesting. Also there is wine, beer and spirits available plus a full on restaurant. Looking around the foyer and general decor this place gives the impression of being a fine hotel with lots of history.

Great location, exactly next to the train station. Luxury rooms. We had an upgrade to a superior room, without charging, because the others weren't ready. Amazing room decoration and hotel services. Staff is extremely friendly. The only problem is that the room was next to the main road and wasn't that quiet. It has a private parking , where you pay 10euros per day. It was thw cheaper parking you could use.

The hotel is right across the street from the train station that takes you to Venice in about 10 minutes. It is MUCH better than any hotel near a train station that I am accustomed to. The room size was very nice, nice size bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is also about a block from where the buses to and from the airport stop.

Sitting on my very comfy bed at the Best Western Mestre. Can't say enough about this hotel. I'm winding up a month visit to Eastern Italy and Croatia and this is the best experience l've had - and l've stayed in some nice hotels. Just had my 7 Euro breakfast which is a steal when you consider you could easily spend this on a croissant and coffee across the street. Re air conditioning: In my travels l have discovered that as soon as "fall" arrives ac is turned off. I also spent a couple of nights in various hotels where there was a spike in temperature and my room was hot. It's just the way it is. Maybe ask for a fan if available? Staff: Fabulous. Everyone seems happy which l believe is probably a reflection on how they are treated by management. Location: Right across from the train station and the No. 2 bus which will take you directly to Venice. Flixbus and Airport bus are 50 meters away. Conclusion: Best hotel of my month long trip. If l ever come back to Venice l'll be staying here. Thank you!!!

Before booking this hotel we confirmed on the website and by phone with the hotel they had air conditioning. Upon arrival the room was very warm and we contacted the front desk who said they would turn on the A/C from the front desk. Nothing! Later they told us it was now prohibited to use the A/C because it was fall and the weather was cooler. NOT. Solution was to open the windows! It was very loud ALL night and mosquitoes can in and attacked us all night. It was so hot my wife threw up 2 of the 3 nights. Very little sleep. The hotel lied to us about the A/C and then tried to dismiss our complaint. Before you book this hotel confirm the A/C will be operational. Better yet---Don't book the hotel.

We spent 6 nights at the BW Bolgona Plus Hotel in Mestre. This hotel is located across from the Mestre rail station on Via Piave, a side street. The ATVO express bus from the Marco Polo airport to the Mestre rail station drops you off next to the rail station (20 minutes); you just need to walk back towards the rail station a few blocks to Via Piave. If you purchase the day/multi-day ACTV bus/vaparetto pass it includes the ACTV bus from Mestre rail station. The bus stop is in front of the Mestre rail station across the street from the hotel. Unless you travel at an odd hour plan to stand for the 15 minute ride to Venice. This bus was packed; avoid rush hour 8-9 am and 5-6 pm. Check-in was quick and efficient. The hotel staff were happy and polite. The room was made-up timely. The windows open from the side or top. The water was always hot and the bathroom was large and modern. There was a table with 2 chairs which made eating take out food easier. The bed had foam pillows and a thick foam mattress and was comfortable. There is a small refrigerator but the beverages in the mini bar are not included. The bathroom has a separate shower, a bathtub, a hair dryer, 3 Dove soap dispensers, glasses, Q-tips, and a small bar of soap. There are plenty of towels, of varying sizes (no wash cloth), and 2 heated towel racks. There are 3 floors, stairs, and 2 elevators. The TV offered over 50 channels in English (CNN,Aljazeera, BBC,CNBC), Italian, French, German, and Russian. We ate the breakfast once for 7 euros; it included hot and cold food, bacon, eggs, yogurt, bread/ rolls, cheese, cold cuts, coffee, and juice. It opens at 7 am. and offers ample food quantities and choices. In the lobby each morning cookies/biscotti and ice water is offered. Within walking distance there is the Ali Aliper market a few blocks away on Via Piave. This is a mid-size market with reasonable prices. It closes at 8:30 pm. Farther away, but still walkable, is the 2-story mega market called Interspar/Despensar, located at the intersection of Via Torino and Corso del Popolo. This market has a huge selection of cold cuts, cheese, bread, cookies, hot food, wine, water, and much more. I think it is open until 10pm and the prices are reasonable. I enjoyed my stay at the BW Bologna and felt safe in the area, there were always a lot of people on the streets and the nearby restaurants were busy.

Can't beat the location to being near Venice. Near all local transportation. Staff very helpful in giving us information on how to get around the area. Best thing was able to buy transportation tickets for bus/water taxis for Venice at the hotel itself.

we had a great stay here again. we were able to check in earlier than normal. Standards are still just as high. opposite Mestre station(a direct route by train to Venice santa lucia(always validate your tickets at the station). tickets cost 1.30 euros single to Venice). rooms are modern clean , tea, coffee, toiletries and huge bathroom (walkin showers) aircon. Breakfast is american buffet style, it was only 7 euros. There was eggs bacon sausages fruits yoghurts breads pastries tea coffee. This was very good value

We stayed in this hotel in September. The location was great for us being across the street from the train station. We thought the hotel was clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar were great! It's never our custom to eat at hotel restaurants for the evening meal, but we were so impressed with it we ate there two evenings. We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

We were a group of 10 people, traveled to Venice to stay for a cruise departing Venice. We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. I would recommend this hotel very highly. It is just a few feet from the railroad station. That station has trains to all over Italy. Best, there is a train to the Venice train station after a short :10 minute trip. Fare is very reasonable. Tickets can be bought at the newspaper/convience store located in terminal. Just be sure to get your ticket validated before getting on train as they do check. The fines are heavy for no tickets. The Best Western offers Free Wi-Fi and, they have a most excellent, buffet breakfast which we really enjoyed. There is also a restaurant and, bar at the hotel. Rooms were great with a great bathroom and, shower facility. If the mood is there, in the train station across the street is a modern McDonalds, which we went to one night. And, a Chock Full of Nuts coffee shop with great pastries. Highly recommend. For a nice hotel very close and, convenient to Venice, I highly recommend this property. Very friendly front desk people, with cookies, every evening.

Another fantastic stay both on the way to Croatia for one night, then on the way back to Paris for three nights. Hotel as usual could not be more helpful. They kept a suitcase for us whilst we were away. Their breakfast if good value and would recommend. For visiting Venice ts an absolute must. Lino on the front desk was most helpful. Will always stay here when visiiting Veniice.

The hotel was nice enough. Everything you need. Lifts are very small though and couldn't fit a family of 4 with suitcases in one lift! But not a major issue. The only complaint is the noise at night as our room overlooked building work going on outside. Also the layout of room wasn't great. We had a family room, which included our room and a room for our kids. The front door of our room went straight into the kids room, which is also where you access the bathroom. So at night if you need the toilet, you need to top toe through the kids room to get to the bathroom! That said, everything else was good. Very clean and breakfast was good choice depending on your preference. Saw lots enjoying rice and salad for breakfast! My kids enjoyed the pancake machine. Location was great. Just a short bus or train ride which takes you to the centre of Venice, which made it a cheaper option to staying right in Venice. Coach to and from airport was right by hotel too.

this hotel was great espescially for europe, and just a 2 minute walk to the train station, however it was about a 15 minute trip to venice. not much in the surrounding area of the hotel, could not find a grocery store open within a 10 minute walk on a sunday night.

We stayed for one night with our family of 6. We requested 2 rooms, each with a queen and single bed. One room had the queen bed in a separate room with a pocket door between the smaller single bed room. The other room had both beds in one large room. Both rooms had a huge bathroom with a large glassed in shower, bidet, toilet and sink. We had a choice of 2 hairdryers. The rooms had an electric kettle for coffee or tea, safe and mini fridge. Everything was up to date electronically including the lights, etc which were controlled by inserting the room key at the control by the door. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was 7 Euros a person and included got and cold meats, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, pancakes, fruit, etc. We were very happy with this hotel and location to Venice and the airport. Recommend it.

As previously mentioned...Location is amazing! Across the street from the train station. Venice was only a 10 min commute by train. Hotel is very clean and comfy. Rooms look larger online, but regardless very comfortable and clean. Loved the TV speaker in the bathroom; made for a good laugh. Be careful not to use the hair dryer and kettle at the same time; as you trip the fuse. Just like being at home! lol. Was fixed within mins. Thank you! Hotel staff were very helpful at making recommendations Mico and Luca. Check-out mornings are a little hectic. Airport bus very easy to get too.

Best Western+ Hotel Bologna, in Mestre Venice, is an exellent place to stay when visiting the city of Venice. Situated just by the Mestre railway station Venice is just 15 minutes away by train, fare being 1.30€. From Marco Polo Venetsia airport, bus takes ~ 20 minutes to Mestre railway station, fare 8€ one way. Hotel is first class, nice airy rooms, good service, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. If you plan a business meeting hotel has good meeting facilities and services. Free Wi-Fi! I myself will absolutely stay in this hotel everything time visiting Veneto.

good location, clearn room, nice people. the bathroom is large. in front of Mestre Station. airport bus stop is near (3 minutes walk). supermarket is near. The only disappointment is breakfast. Because I like Italian style, not American. I will stay this hotel again. I thank the hotel staff. They gave me a map of Venice and said "Enjoy Venezia!". ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

This was a last minute stay since we weren't comfortable at our bed and breakfast apartment down the street. Got a fantastic deal on trip advisor. Hotel was modern and very clean. Room was very nice with a huge bathroom. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable (and I am picky!) I'm just sorry our stay was only about 8 hours since we had a flight in the morning so we didn't have more time to enjoy.

Definitely not your typical Best Western you maybe used to in the states! Great room, seemed to be newly renovated and spacious. The restaurant for dinner is absolutely delicious!!! I know I know you are in Venice and the BW has a great restaurant?? YEP!!! The food was great! The only complaint about our stay was the air conditioning, we mentioned it and they switched us rooms and comped our breakfast... but the new room had an issue with the AC as well. For the price and convenience of the train location I would stay again!

Love this hotel. Excellent staff, perfect location (10 mins on train to Venice) value for money.Hotel is opposite train station. It is clean and welcoming. We stayed in a room which was located on the side of one of the main roads so although it was noisy at night once the windows were closed was not a problem. Air conditioning throughout the hotel was very good and a welcome relief from the heat!

This hotel was absolutely amazing. What I loved most was that it was extremely modern and was located right across the street from the train station. It was also located only a short bus ride to Venice Mestre. The hotel included free wifi and breakfast. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!!!

The hotel is conveniently situated opposite the train station and walking distance to bus station. I booked a junior suite which was very spacious. The bathroom was huge. Breakfast was wholesome and tasty. Mirco at reception wasvery helpful with tips. Very convenient by bus or train to venice

If you don't want to stay on the either island, Venice, or Lido, this is a good choice. Having been to Venice before, we did not need to stay on the island. We were heading for a cruise and only needed a hotel for 1 night. The proximity of the hotel to the train station was excellent - right across the street! It was a simple 10 minute train ride and caught a cab to the main port. The hotel was very new renovated and very modern. So modern that we had trouble trying to figure out how to keep the lights on! The beds were very comfortable and rooms quiet. We needed a triple room, which is not easy in European cities, but we had plenty of room. A/C worked great, which is important in hot, humid cities.

Apart from a few stray pubic hairs in the bathroom, everything about our stay was excellent, from the friendly welcome to the super comfortable room (superior double). The breakfast was a typical Italian hotel breakfast, not fabulous but adequate.

Stayed here after our cruise and loved it. Location is in central Mestre, about 15 minutes away by bus from the island of Venice. Plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets in walking distance. The train station is 1 minute away, which made our day-trips to Padua and Verona very easy. Breakfast is great, rooms very clean. Totally recommended.

Staying in Venice means that i have to deal with lugging my luggage on stone pathways and over footbridges. After having experienced it once before, i felt it was definitely not worth the effort to do that again, even though that meant i needed to stay somewhere away from all the action. Staying in Mestre at Best Western was a good compromise. Check-in was a breeze, the receptionist spoke perfect English. The room was modern and spacious. It even had a big bathtub!! Hotel room of this size with similar facility is probably hard to find in Venice unless it's like a 5-star hotel that costs double the rate of this hotel, if not more. In terms of breakfast, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the wide selection of offerings. In terms of location, the hotel is just across the street from the Mestre train station, a short 10-min train ride will take you to Santa Lucia train station. Trains between the 2 stations run until midnight. Being so close to train station also meant that it could be noisier. Also, this hotel had one of the worst smell of cigarette smoke amongst all the hotels i had stayed at throughout my trip. This may not be as ideal for people who are sensitive to cigarette smoke smell or for light sleepers.

We have been to Venice 5 times and have always stayed at the Hotel Bologna. We love the convenience to the train station (across the street) which provides quick access to Venice. It's so much easier staying in Mestre and not having to get to a hotel in Venice and walk from a water taxi to your hotel with all your luggage. I never hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family. It is Venice the easy way. All amenities, are first rate, this is a business hotel, they know what they are doing. Full breakfast and restaurant is available any time. Comfortable, clean, contemporary furnished rooms and full service bar and lounge makes this the perfect option for a hotel in Venice at a very reasonable price.

We were looking for accommodations close to the Marco Polo Airport and after reading reviews on The Best Western Plus we decided to book two rooms before and after our cruise. It was a good decision, and we would stay there again. Our rooms had adequate space, comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms. Be aware that when you check out you have to pay a nominal occupancy tax per person. The main island, cruise port, and Marco Polo airport are easily reached by taxi, bus, or mass transportation. For accommodations away from the masses choose the Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna.

I booked this hotel based on a friend choosing this based on his prior experience visiting Venice. Budget hotel in many ways, but I was very happy with the accommodating staff (called ahead to change room type and had them hold bags for an entire day) hence the four staff review. Room seemed clean, breakfast was good. In addition to having great service, it is across from the train station (Mestre) which is about 10 minutes and about 2 euros from the parts of Venice you came to visit (Santa Lucia). Can't beat the combination of convenience and price if you are looking for a deal and planning a cost conscious vacation.

Mestre is the suburb of the canal city where most the workers in Venice live here. While lodging is very costly in Venice , staying here is affordable. Trains run every five minutes between these two stations, and only cost 1.50€ one way. When checking in, ask for the new wing. The rooms are sleekly decorated, streamline furniture, very attractive and functional. A very good value for your money. The best part about this hotel is that it is located right outside Venezia-Mestre station. We were very tired by the time we got there and it was awesome that we could see the hotel from the station itself. The staff were friendly and they had some cool welcome snacks at the reception. Comfortable cozy rooms with a pretty view, the hotel was a good option for a short stay. I like that they had heated towel racks too. You can conveniently take the train from the station right outside and reach Venice in about 5-10 minutes max. The breakfast had limited options but was good. We stayed at this hotel after our cruise and we absolutely loved it. After a less pleasant experience in another hotel on the pre-cruise stay, this hotel was exactly what we needed to conclude a wonderful trip. Hotel Bologna is not in Venice, but is in the centre of Mestre, just several minutes away from the old own, by bus or train. There are many bus lines that go there, so it was no struggle. Rooms are modern, large and very quiet. The reception service is impeccable. We will stay here again for sure.

Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna is a modern hotel which is conveniently located across the street from the train station that takes you to Venice. We chose this hotel because of its location and private parking for our rental car. Although the parking area and some of the hotel facilities are under construction, the hotel still offers great service, clean comfortable rooms and good food. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone interested in staying just outside of Venice.

We booked this hotel to visit Venice, we took a bus for 8euro from the airport to the train station and the hotel was basically across the street. The staff was helpful and friendly, are breakfast was included, they told us an American style buffet!. Partly correct it was a buffet but don't expect bacon eggs hash browns and so on, however still enjoyable no complaints. The room was clean and spacious but not quite what I saw in the pics, but still good. A/C well not at a North American standard but sufficient, you do need to use your chipped room key to power up the room but that's a fairly standard European deal. So for a good hotel at a decent price in a great location it ticked all the boxes.

We stayed here for one night after staying in Venice proper. This hotel was great! Very contemporary, clean, and the front desk personnel were exceptional. We arrived early since we wanted to go back to Venice for they day. The staff was very accommodating, checked us in, and stored our luggage until the room was available. They provided us with information on how to get back to Venice as well as, told us how and where to get a cab back to the airport the next morning. The hotel is across the street from the train station and 24-hour cab availability. We were told the best way to get back to Venice was by train as it was much faster than taking the bus or a cab. Boy, were they right! The train stops at Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia and is a short walk to the water taxis or any part of Venice you want to visit. We were pleasantly surprised when we returned to the hotel. Our luggage had been delivered to our room and the bed and sleep sofa ready to turn in for the night. The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower, large sink area, plenty of towels, a toilet, and a bidet. I must say that the sleep sofa was very comfortable as was the regular bed. There i a Lilly coffee shop next door to the hotel and a few places to buy coffee, incidentals, and McDonalds at the train station. But who eats McDonalds when you are vacation in Venice? I am sure there are very good restaurants near the hotel and the wonderful staff would be happy to help you find one. Since we were leaving early we were not able to eat in the restaurant at the hotel nor get breakfast the next morning. Since I use a CPAP, my only problem was finding a socket that the European adapter would either work in or we could even get it in the socket. Also the lack of an end table on either side of the sofa left no wear to sit the CPAP. I had to use the luggage rack and a suitcase as a make shift table but all things work out if you are inventive. I would definitely recommend and stay in this hotel again. Especially, since I know it is a short hop to Venice by train.

If you are looking for a cheap clean stay near the train station and then on to Venice this is a good place to stay and price is very good wifi is included and €10 Parking is reasonable as well. There is no gym wifi was good. My problem is with the advertising and booking I booked a “king bed suite” in advertising it says king bed with seperate “lounge “ sitting area this is a total lie. I know this as the manager said I was in the king suite well there is no lounge sitting area. He says that is in another “king suite” with different shower and offered to show me. I don't think he thought I would take him up on his offer. Well we get to the “other king suite” and there is 2 rooms one big room like the picture and a small room I would call an entrance or small dressing room. At no point did I see a seperate lounge room as states on best westerns own app. There was no lounge or tv in “ seperate room” totally misleading As the room I was in is not a suite and was better then their suite I decided to stay where I was. The lift was only big enough for me and my 2 bags my travel mate had to wait for the next lift The bed is like a rock and does not sit against the wall so I played chase the pillow all night when the pillow would fall down. The tv has heaps of channels but only news on English due to the floors not being carpeted sounded like people above at 2am we're moving all their furniture around dragging it on the floor lasted a couple of hours Then a first for me a barking dog a couple doors down I'm a dog person and have 2 of my own but i would not bring them to a hotel if they barked all the time u also have the idiots who start at about 6am slamming their doors shut for the whole hall To hear. The bill We were told at check in breakfast wasn't included but on my final bill it states bed and breakfast we were also told that the mini bar was complimentary at check out we were told it wasn't. As I had a long drive I didn't complain or try and correct this but that's 3 strikes This is my 2nd best western stay in 2 weeks and no mention of my diamond status and I can't see if it actually gets any benefits at all. I will be emailing the management of this best western to confirm my billing.

We booked this hotel based on its location and previous reviews on trip advisor. The location was excellent, just opposite the main entrance of Mestre Railway Station about a min walk. You will be able to see the hotel from the station. The hotel itself is clean and a nice little oasis from the busy station. Check in was swift, there is a welcome drink (flavoured water, rice cakes and biscuit), the water is there for guests to help themselves which is great when you come in from a long hot day in Venice. The hotel itself is deceptively large, there are many rooms, the room itself was spacious, very clean and well thought through. There is plenty of space to put your luggage, a safe, enough wardrobe space. It is kept quite simple and basic but does the job!. The lights are nice and bright. The bathroom is clean, the hotel provides shower cream etc, but note that body lotions are provided in sachets only, so if you need lots bring some with you. The bathroom itself is spacious and with some space for a washbag near the sink. If breakfast was not included in your booking, you can choose to have breakfast for EUR 7.00 per person. There is plenty of choice of fresh vegetables (salad) and fruit, however the pastry choice is a little limited. The is rice milk etc. as well. The hotel is clearly very popular and breakfast can get busy. There is a separate coffee / café within the hotel premises if you don't fancy the buffet, but we did not try this so cannot provide a review. There are some places close by which offer breakfast too. There is also a supermarket within 5 mins waking distance where you can get water etc. or you can get this in the railway station. To get to Venice, you can get the train (EUR 1.20 per person, one way) which take about 5 mins, you can get tickets in the station from the self service machines. The other option is to get bus number 2 which takes about 5 mins too, and you can catch it right outside the train station. Note that the bus is often very full and the train might be a better option. I believe the bus is included within the Venice travel ticket, but best to double check. The hotel is also very close to the shuttle service to the airport, about 5 mins walk, and you can get a ticket to the airport for EUR 8.00 per person one way. I believe they have shuttles to both airports, however we were going to the main one, i.e. Marco Polo. Just ask the staff at reception for directions, all the staff were professional and helpful. I would choose to stay at this hotel again if I visit Venice again – hopefully I will

It was our second stay in this hotel and sure we will come back another time, and with friends that time, as it is a very good solution to visit Venice.The rooms are very clean and comfortable,the staff is very professional,the breakfast is very good and at a very reasonable price. The bus stops (to the airport and to Venice) are right in front of the hotel which is very convenient although the buses are crowded !

Stayed for 3 nights May 31 - June 3rd. We were in a Jr. Suite and totally enjoyed it. The Jr. Suite has 2 rooms + bathroom and is nice and big. The hotel is very clean and very nicely appointed. The beds and pillows were probably the best that I have experienced in a hotel. People behind the desk were very helpful. The included breakfast was quite adequate with lots of choice. Something that I would recommend, is to have a sheet of hints for the room. It took us an hour to figure out the following: - you have to put the room key in a slot inside the door to make the lights work. - light switches are opposite to what we have in N. America. Up for off and down for on The hotel is perfectly located across from the train station. They do not sell rail tickets anymore, but the machines in the station are easy to use.

We stayed at this hotel from 03/24 to 03/27 and everything about the stay was great. Cost per night was €143,10 1.) Check-in was fast, easy and efficient, even with a trainee. We also got the room we had requested (460) a triple with 1 king and a single. 2.) Breakfast is only €5/person and a very large selection 3.) Onsite restaurant that we ate at one night 4.) Location, location, location – it is right across the street from the Stazione di Venezia Mestre, about a 2-minute walk. Even being so close to the train station the room was very quiet. Could have been due to being on the top floor. 5.) Our room 460 was a corner room overlooking the train station and Via Piave. The room was large, clean and well appointed. Housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. 6.) Parking is available behind the hotel If you are in Venice, but do not want to deal with the hassle of carrying your luggage around the canals, I recommend this hotel to stay at. Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna in Mestre was a perfect hotel to stay near Venice. The hotel is situated right at the station and very near to the bus station. The transportation is very easy which saves time. The staff of this hotel was very friendly and made our stay all the more memorable. The rooms are very clean and big, which is worth every penny. Compared to prices in Venice itself, the BW Plus Hotel Bologna seems like a bargain. However, if you are looking for charm, ambience and history then this may not be the hotel for you. It is directly across the street from the Mestre transit station which makes it very convenient for commuting into Venice or getting to or from the airport. Rooms have modernistic decor. Typical European style beds but the pillows were not very comfortable. Plastic drinking cups in bathroom were not replaced daily. Had to go to front desk every day and ask for new cups. Breakfast buffet had many choices. Room was surprisingly quiet as it faced the street to the entrance of the hotel and the hotel itself is so close to the train station. Neighborhood looks a little run down but never ventured past the train station as all days were spent exploring Venice. Stayed four nights in May. Hotel staff pleasant and mostly helpful.

Loved the access to the Mestre train station, literally across the street. A relatively large grocery store is a five minute walk away, with premade (but very fresh!) salads, fresh fruit (use a plastic glove to select), wine, beer, and a great deli, etc! Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the A/C worked very well.

We choose the hotel as it was vey near to train station (just accross the street) and very near (3 mijutes walk) to shutle bus service to Marcopolo Airport. We stayed two niights in late April 2018 The rate in Mestre is about 30-40% less than near Venice Santa Lucia train station (in the island). Train to and fro the islandbfrom mestre is very frequent and many. The room was spacious and clean plus we were provided with hotel slippers Breakfast was plenty to choose from.

Excellent location right across the street from the train station making for very easy travel to the island and other cities. Hotel was clean and rooms were roomy and well lighted. Hotel staff provided excellent service, allowing us to check in early because I was so tired from long trip.

Apart from the hotel being in a great location, across the street from the station and easy access to Venice 2.60 Euros return and a 10 minute journey and one or two nice eating places nearby. My highlight of the holiday was the bar staff, Moris, Daniel and Egor who were a credit to the hotel and made our holiday and stay so pleasant. All the staff were exceptional. If you stay at this hotel make sure you do not get room 143, it is a lovely room and my wife and I had no faults with the room itself except it is right over an entrance to the rear and every morning around 6am they wheel laundry trolleys through and it sounds as if they are going over cobblestones, so an early morning call was in order. What else can I say but I really enjoyed it.

Room was large and well equipped, had fridge and safe . Spacious bathroom with power shower and bath . Staff friendly, glass of prosecco with free snack ( pizza ) 3.50 Euro . Easy access to station opposite hotel, under 10 mins into Venice . Negatives , aircon was switched off, I usually book hotels specific to them having aircon so was slightly perturbed by the fact I couldn't use it . Be vigilant there are pickpockets that hang around the train station.

We arrived rather late by train from Bayeux. We were quite happy to see the hotel right across the street from the station. The rooms are very nice and spacious. the staff is very helpful and friendly. For 2 euros you can take the train to Venice or if you buy the pass for unlimited vaporetta rides for the day, the bus to the island is included in the cost. You might have to stand on the bus as it was crowded but it was not difficult at all to use this option. We were just in Venice for the day so the proximity to the train station was a real plus for us.

Great location. Just 2 min. walk to the train station. 2 euros gets you to island of Venice. Hotel doesn't look like much from outside but the staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The AC was off because it wasn't the season yet. We used the hotel for sleeping only. Didn't spend much time there. They let us keep our bags safe while we walked around Venice. Which is amazing!!

The hotel is right across from the train station, and a short walk to the local airport bus. If you walk to the shopping district be aware of the local hoodlums that hang out in front of the apartments. Watch your wallet and purses. Not the best area to walk through, but it seemed safe enough during the day. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We had trouble printing our boarding passes and the woman (wish I knew her name) at the front desk worked with us for over 30 minutes to get it done. That's what I call great customer service. The 7 Euro breakfast buffet was very good. Don't waste time trying to look around to save a few Euro and go with it. You won't be sorry.

We used this hotel as our base when visiting Venice, the hotel was very clean and staff were friendly. The hotel is in a perfect location for the train station and it is very easy to get into Venice. On our first morning at the hotel the electricity had been turned off for maintainence, meaning I was unable to use the hair dryer and the breakfast was limited. Not sure why the hotel decided to turn off electricity when people need to use it the most. My other complaint is that the hotel don't turn their air con on until May, meaning the hotel rooms were boiling hot. We had to have our windows open all night but unfortunately we're woken up many times through the night with shouting from the kitchen and noisy deliveries to the hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel was perfect for what I needed. Location: The hotel is two steps (literally) from Mestre station's main entrance - this was important because I made trips into Venice and away to Bologna and Padua (Padova) during my stay and it was very convenient to be nearby. It also costs only 1.30 Euros one-way into Venice and takes 10 minutes on the train (all trains to/from Venezia Santa Lucia station stop at Mestre), which I think is excellent value (especially if you compare prices with hotels in Venice itself). The station has a good convenience store too for water and snacks. The hotel is also only 3 minutes walk from the bus stop for the airport shuttle bus. I have read on TripAdvisor forums about the station-end of Via Piave being very dodgy, but have not found this a problem during my week there and did not notice any unsavoury characters - even though I was returning sometimes in the late evening/early night (sometimes around 2300). The Restaurant: The food at the restaurant is the other stand-out feature of the hotel. It had a solid small menu of staples, on top of which were daily specials. I tried the restaurant on the first evening, and returned several times when I felt too tired to venture further after a busy day as the food was unexpectedly excellent. The daily specials are worth checking out, and there is a delicate touch with the seasoning and the chefs clearly respect the ingredients. The wines too were delightful, and the service was lovely. My only gripe is with the bread - rock hard and stale - but then why fill up with bread when there's the food? There is also a discount for hotel guests. The room: I had a large and spacious room with lots of natural light, and an immaculate bathroom. The only negative is the wifi, which is reliable, but extremely slow - I'm glad I didn't spend enough time in the room to use the internet much. However, there are building works in other parts of the hotel, so perhaps ask for a room in the new wing? It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and I will be booking another stay here when I return to Venice next year.

We visited this for two nights as we visited several areas of Italy. The location first of all is fantastic, a 2 minute walk from the train station, 20 minutes into the piazza and five minutes from a large supermarket (Spar). Checkin was a pleasure, the staff are fantastic, they spoke English very well which helped but they just genuinely came across as helpful and keen to ensure you had a great stay. We were given a map of Venice and Mestre which were very useful and headed to our room. Due to the location we didnt think there would be a view which was right, but we had a bottle of processco in an ice bucket to celebrate our arrival which fantastic. There was some work being done on the hotel to improve it but they hid this well inside the hotel and we didnt hear the work being carried out. We headed into Mestre on the evening, we didnt find too much to do but we were there mainly to go to Venice the next day. Breakfast a delight. The choice is brilliant especially for the price. From hot meat and eggs, cold meat and cheese, cakes, pastries, american pancakes and more. Keeps you going till the evening. Trains are a bit manic to Venice they were packed! But the cost saving is worth staying in Mestre. Costs about 1.30 Euro each way. Rooms great size, comfy. Couple of English TV stations, minibar, room service and more. Would recommend for anyone planning on visiting Venice - trains dont stop till about 11pm. And for anyone visiting Lake Garda or Verona too.

The front desk clerk on arrival was very friendly, though she gave us only one room key, despite the fact that we had booked a room for two persons and that the two of us were in front of her. I asked her "can we get a second key?", to which she only replied "Yes", with a tone that seemed to mean "OK, why not". It seems weird to me to give only one key to two guests, and I've never seen that in other hotels. We arrived at 11pm, after a flight from abroad, and wanted to eat something before going to our room. We knew it was too late for the restaurant, but thought we could eat at the bar, which is supposed to close at midnight, according to the hotel website. When we arrived at the bar, the bartender said that the bar would close at 11pm. He paused for a second, probably realizing that it was exactly 11pm, and added "at 11:30pm". In other words, they wanted to close the bar as soon as possible, but we were allowed to stay and eat something. They only had sandwiches, that were quite good and cheap (14 euros for 2 sandwiches and 2 soft drinks). The room we were in looked like a school canteen and was not pleasant. I didn't expect this after seeing the pictures of the nice lobby on the hotel website. The sandwiches were not really enough, but we didn't order more because it was obvious that the staff couldn't wait to close the bar. We then went to our room. It was a junior suite, quite big, in perfect condition, and very clean. The decoration was poor, it almost looked like a hospital room. I know this hotel is not very expensive, but the decoration seemed exaggeratedly basic to me, even for this price. The other Best Western in Mestre (Best Western Plus Quid Hotel Venice Airport), which is cheaper, seems to have nicer rooms (according to the pictures on their website, at least). Even though the room was a junior suite, it had no couch. Only two plastic chairs. The room felt very cheap, not cosy at all. The only thing to eat in the minibar was 40 grams of peanuts. Nothing more. The official website of the hotel states "24-hour room service", but it seems to be a mistake, they have no such thing. So even though we had booked for two days, we decided to cancel the second night and find a better hotel for the next day. I went to the front desk and was able to cancel the second night without fee, probably because we had a refundable rate. I was not asked why I wanted to cancel the second night, so I said nothing. The breakfast was surprisingly good for the price (5 euros per person). No fresh fruits as I've read in another review, only fruits in syrup. But definitely very good for the price, with a decent choice of items. I give 3 stars only because of the poor decoration and the terrible bar with falsely advertised closing time. But it you don't care about such things, this hotel can be an excellent choice, with a really reasonable price, and perfectly clean rooms.

Great hotel just 100 ft from train station, and 10 minutes from Venice. Nice, clean and great staff. They are renovating now (March 2018) and rooms are clean and new. Wifi included, small restaurant inside hotel.

We booked 4 rooms in this hotel for the period of 21-23 March 2018. First the location. Location is perfect. It is only 2 minutes walk to Mestre station. Which is only 1 stop away from Venice island itself. In fact we did calculations: From this hotel all the way to San Marco square will take only 22 minutes in the evening (Private boat taxi and train ride included) So perhaps this is the perfect location for Venice anyway. The central Mestre is only 20 minutes relaxing walk. Which is also pretty looking town as well. Around the area there are many shops, restaurant and most importantly cellular shops selling Italian prepaid SIM for tourist. From this hotel to airport will take 30 minutes drive. The room is very nice. Spacious, with marble floor bathroom and wood panel floor for the room itself. With nice soothing lighting and high ceiling, I found it its nice place to rest. The hard bed helps also. The bathroom is spacious with nice shower and very nice soap dispenser. American breakfast is available for 5 Euro in the morning. The staffs were okay. Not really friendly, but I dont interact with them too often anyway. In conclusion, this is really nice property overall. Will certainly back when the time comes.

Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna turned out to be an excellent choice for our summer trip to Italy. Just 1 minute walk from the train station and 10-15 minutes from Venice either by train or by bus (the bus stops are just outside the train station). The room was comfortable, clean, with a big bathroom with amenities and soundproof. It also had a very good breakfast with variety of choices. Perfect for everyone like us who wants to use the train to continue their tour in Italy after visiting Venice.

The hotel is excellent, located in Mestre across the road from the rail way station and bus terminal. The hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Venice by train is just 10 minutes away and cost about 1.3 euro for one way trip. Milano is 2-3 hours by train. Walking to Mestre center took about 20 minutes. While taxi from Macro Polo airport took about 25 minutes and cost 35 euro. The area around the hotel had a few good restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes. The hotel breakfast was good and cost only 5 euros. The reasons I gave 3/5 rating are: - The room was very very hot (outside temp was 0 C). We had no way of controlling the heat in the room and after complaining to the reception temp slightly improved but still it was too hot and we had to open the window. I noticed that several other rooms opened the windows also. - the hotel is located on the main street of the train station and it was very noisy day and night. - In the hotel ground floor on the station side there is a cafe which was located under our room and whenever someone smoked the cigarette/cigars smoke got into the room.

This hotel is one of the best in the Mestre area. Directly opposite the train station into Venice for 1.80 euro who wants to pay high prices in Venice for a hotel that won't beat the Bologna. The cafe, restaurant, and bar all to die for and the staff I could not fault from receiption to the cleaning staff all amazing thank you keep up the great work.

This hotel is very convenient because it's right across from the rail station. I have to admit, when we were crossing the street towards the hotel, I stopped and said, I'm not staying there! The outside looked kind of shady and I'm a proud a hotel snob. I'm glad I didn't revel against my brother-in-law who made the reservation because I was pleasantly surprised. The room was a family room we shared with my mom and we had plenty of privacy. Everything was super clean and the bathroom was BIG. They gave us tickets to the train for Venice and arranged for ticket to the opera for us. The breakfast was excellent. Since the rail station was across the street, it made it very easy to go to Verona and other towns near Venice.

I booked this hotel searching for a good hotel within easy reach of the rail and bus stations in Mestre, to have fast access to Venice and Marco Polo Airport. I wouldn.trecommend it to people who want to be right where the action is or are not comfortable with public transportation. Hotel is just across the street from the rail station and bus stops, in a superb location. The bus will take you to Venice Piazza Roma Station in 15 minutes, and you can use the same travel card for all transport in Venice, including the vaporetto (water bus). The neighborhood itself is a little desolate, with few or nonexistent restaurants around. We used the hotel restaurant several times, and it was a very good one with good prices and breakfast was excellent, with a very reasonable price of 5 Euro. Everything was always clean and spotless. I had reserved a suite because cheaper and smaller rooms were already gone, and it was splendid, with a very nice bathroom, a sitting room and a big bedroom. Staff personnel was attentive and very efficient, you can buy the Venice transport pass at the front desk. i highly recommend staying in Mestre instead of Venice itself, it's cheaper and you don't have to drag your suitcases around Venice, where everywhere you go is either via narrow and crowded cobblestone streets or waterborne.

I stayed in this hotel for almost three months for business and I have got a really good service from all the hotel facilities: excellent communication and skillful support from the reception desk, excellent cleaning service at the room and excellent restaurant which is included into the same building. The breakfast is really good and plentiful, and the service team is outstanding to provide the best bespoke requests to the international guests.The hotel is just in front to Mestre railways station, in a fantastic position to reach Venice in a 15minutes by train. I'll be back in the future, many thanks to the staff for my staying.

The hotel is located directly at the train station Venice Mestre and you are in Venice in just a few minutes for under two euros per person. That makes the hotel perfect for a trip to Venice if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the expensive hotels located directly on the island. Also it is easily reachable from the airport via bus (around eight euros per person) or - if you prefer a more exclusive transportation - with taxi for around 40 euros. The trip takes around 20 minutes. The hotel itself is nice, clean and very modern furnished - only the windows are not that thick so that you can hear the cars and trains in the night, if you listen closely. But that's of course always the downside you have to take if you want a centrally located hotel. The staff is nice, service-oriented and multilingual. The breakfast is diverse and adequate - if you travel with a group you should reserve a table beforehand. The hotel bar is public and offers a variety of drinks and snacks. Altogether: very recommendable.

The hotel is just 2 minutes' walk from the railway station, so we could visit Venice easily without using our car. The rooms are tidy and clean. Fair choice for the price we had to pay for the accomodation.

We were booked into this hotel by our travel agency, prior to leaving on a cruise. It is reasonably priced, clean, and handy to the train station that takes you right into the heart of Venice. Our suite was a bit quirky - set up for a family, rather than a couple, and lacked reading lights and comfortable seating in the living area - had an extra bed instead, with bright overhead lighting as the only option.. The couple that was with us had a much better suite that had a normal living area. A very nice restaurant is right in the hotel, where we enjoyed an excellent dinner and an extensive breakfast buffet for only 5 Euros the next morning. We would certainly consider returning to this hotel if we ever return to Venice, but would make sure that we got a regular suite.

We stayed for two nights and were impressed with the standard of accommodation and service. This hotel is opposite Mestre station so easy access to Venice (1 or 2 stops by train) and also the airport shuttle stops by the station so easy and low cost travel is possible. It is a modern hotel and quite 'clinical' in appearance and thus lacks character, but otherwise a good choice for a night or two. The staff are very helpful, it is not expensive and the breakfast offers good choice. We chose to eat out so can't comment on the restaurant other than breakfast was decent and drinks comparable in price to most hotels. The wine we had was very good and generous measures of spirits offered decent value too. Wifi was free but intermittent however 3G mobile signal was fine. TV has a couple of English news channels and rooms are spacious and clean. Rooms also have kettles and hair dryers. The area around the hotel is not the best visually and there is quite s lot of road noise but with windows closed this was not an issue. I would recommend this hotel purely on convenience if you want to visit Venice on a budget.

We stayed at this hotel October 9, 2017 through October 12, 2017. First, it's a very nice Best Western hotel, clean rooms, comfortable beds! We were a party of 4, including me, my wife and another couple (two good friends). All of the staff were warm and friendly, eager to make our stay the best it could be (and we appreciated this). Breakfast was nice, too! Second, the location is hard to beat and you really should consider staying here! Why, you ask? Well, we debated staying at a hotel or B&B right in Venice while we were planning our trip. But after booking our flights we were faced with a very early flight home, which meant we had to head to the VCE airport at 4:30am. Ugh! If we'd stayed in Venice, we would have had to deal with trying to get off the island(s) and to the airport at an ungodly hour, so staying on the mainland made sense, where we could simply schedule a taxi pickup, instead of staying in Venice. At the same time, we also wanted easy access to Venice. Others had written about this hotel, its convenient access to Venice, thus we took a lesson from them. They weren't wrong! You see, Mestre is maybe 10 minutes by train from Venice. The hotel in Mestre is literally across the street from the train station folks! Almost every train going to Venice from anywhere in Italy has to go through Mestre. This means there is a train leaving for Venice about every 5-10 minutes! Seriously, you grab your backpack in the morning, head out the door, cross the street, grab a train, and in minutes you are walking around beautiful Venice! And you saved yourself some bucks! The trains run until 11pm at night, so staying in Venice after the day-trippers have gone home is easy. We will be back to Venice and when we go we'll stay in the Best Western Bologna Hotel again, for sure!

We stayed in this hotel for visiting Venice. Great location in Mestre, just in front of the train station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities were comfy and modern. The bar of this hotel was good, not much variety but fairly reasonable. Restaurant was expensive but good quality. Overall, I do recommend this hotel due to location and staff.

Superb location from hotel to the train station, which is directly opposite the street. Hotel has a restaurant that offers nice spread of breakfast. Visitors just hop on the train for EUD1,50 per trip to get to Venice. The Hotel Reception Staff required some engagement & motivation before “warming up” to share tips in traveling within Venice.

Transiting from Sweden and leading to Cambodia for research work, I found and incredible place served by extraordinary professional, knowledgeable and people-centered staff. Room design of high quality, with excellent spacious bathroom. Perfect internet connection in the room. I accessed also an excellent dinner late at night at the lounge bar (thanks to Mr. Lino and Mr. Moris). Mitigating overcrowding at breakfast peak time is probably asking too much.

Just finished my second stay at Best Western Hotel Bologna ... loved it! The front desk staff is friendly and efficient, the bar & wait staff are friendly as well and will remember you from day one. The breakfast is a perfect way to begin your day. The rooms are spacious and clean with friendly housekeepers too. But the best part of this hotel is the location ... across the street from the Mestre train station, which is literally 7minutes into Venice. I cannot recommend more strongly to stay at this hotel rather than going into Venice and dragging your bag across the cobbled streets, on & off the boats, through the hoards of people! This hotel is perfect for those with a car as it does have parking. We drive into the hills of Veneto to explore the towns during the day and then in the evening when Venice calms down a bit and the visitors go back to the cruise ships, it becomes a magical time to explore Venice and have a relaxing meal.

The location close to Venice, Public transportation, Bars, Restaurants, Retail and Airports and Infrastructure allows you to move or stay as long as you wish. The combination and integration of an Hotel, Lounge, Conference Center and Restaurant makes this location very unique.

This hotel is located right across the street from the main train station, so it is optimal from traveling from the rest of Italy to Venice and from Mestre to the center of Venice. It is less than 6 miles from the Grand Canal or the Rialto. It is modern, clean, with spacious rooms, modern bathrooms. It has a couple of restaurants and a bar and offers an excellent breakfast buffet. There is parking, free Wi-Fi and an airport shuttle. The price is quite modest, and certainly a fraction of what a hotel room costs in the center of Venice.

I left my wallet inside a pocket of my backpack with several bills of dollar and euro. I went out for the day and when I came back, I found that some of the money was stolen. Nothing else was stolen: not my tablet or pc, no other things more valuable. Someone took (just) some of the bills and left the rest as if I wasn't going to find out that they were missing. I guess a carefree or careless tourist wouldn't have notice some 50 bills lost, but I did. The hotel paid me back some of the money, not all. But I had o complain several times. And it was after all a really bad experience.

Having stopped at the hotel for a surprise birthday party. The staff where all very helpful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The restaurant is first class and would recommend to anyone. The train station is just across the road and it's really convenient to travel round sight seeing

Hotel is exactly in front of train station and both bus stations(inside city and airport destination) are next to train station.the location is perfect as if you don't want to buy daily pass,you can go to Venice by train just by 1.25 Euro. Also the bus ticket for airport is 8euro and the schedule is every 15 minutes. The distance to airport is 20 minuets by airport buses. Our room was so comfortable and modern and clean. The breakfast was ok with scrambled eggs,sausages,cheese,cereal,jam,fruits and juices. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful,they have complete information about daily pass, bus and train station and also Venice attractions. I liked the hotel it was so convenient.

Staff are courteous and always available. The hotel is cozy and comfortable, very suitable for business people. It is in a great location opposite the train station from which trains depart every few minutes to Venice. There is a lift and parking that costs 10 euros per day. Opposite the hotel is a great restaurant

The location is very convenient - outside of the extremely high cost hotels in Venice itself, but conveniently located with a train station and bus stops (#2 bus) within a block of the hotel, which go directly to the Venice main train station in less than 20 minutes. This is very near the "People Mover" for cruise ships departure. The hotel can sell passes for the vaporetto (public water transport on the Grand Canal) and metro buses (#2) which are good for 24 hours for 20 Euros per passenger. The hotel is also within 20 minutes of the Marco Polo Airport and there is a stop for the shuttle within 2 blocks of the hotel (cost is 8 Euros per passenger versus about 45 Euros for a taxi). It is generally not possible to buy tickets for the vaporetto, buses, or trains on the transport and the ticket lines prior to boarding are long, so it is better to get them through the hotel - for the same price. The bed in our room was very comfortable - a real plus; If we had time, we could have taken a train from here to Padua, which is less than a half hour away. Unfortunately, we were squeezed by our flight schedule, so were unable to fit it into our trip - maybe next time! We have not stayed in many hotels which we liked better than the Venezia Mestre Bologna and would stay here again at our next opportunity.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to embarking on a cruise and had a junior suite. The hotel is opposite the railway station with easy access to Venice and if you want to go further afield there are lots of other destinations . If we were returning we would most definitely go to Verona again which we prefer to Venice. The staff on reception are excellent and we had a couple of minor issues with our room that were resolved immediately. A clean and modern hotel with lovely rooms. The breakfast was good and plenty of choice for the number of different nationalities and cultures visiting. Would definitely return prior to a cruise.

I stayed here in June this year as being in Venice was a surprise 50th Birthday gift from my son Well what a lovely hotel situated across the road from the train station.. Check in was very quick with helpful staff, our room was absolutely spotlessly clean and although facing the road no noise at all, the house keeping was to a very high standard.. I would definitely return to this hotel as conveniently situated, so after a long day walking around Venice not far to head home to rest.

Good 4 stars hotel with a parking option (10 Euro per day). The hotel located in front of Mestre train station - just 2 short stops from Venice. 12 minutes and 1.25 Euro each way. Comfortable rooms with a large modern bathroom. Standard but efficient breakfast.

The location is perfect, right accross the street from the train station. From there, it's 10 minutes and 1.25 euros to Venice. We were in a Junior suite. Very large bed. I think it's even larger than a Cal King. So wide the sheets barely fold over the edge. Pretty firm. Bathroom had a separate shower. It's a bit narrow, but okay. The room is good sized and pretty clean. Housekeeping kept it clean during our stay. Breakfast is pretty good for Europe.

In terms of location, this hotel is perfect for visiting Venice without worrying about lugging your luggage to the more expensive hotels on the island. Best Western Plus Bologna is right across the street from Venezia-Mestre station. There's a train to Venice every five minutes and only costs 1.25 euros! After a whole day of walking, jumping on the train and just crossing the road is very manageable. The hotel is also surrounded by a lot of restaurants and a large supermarket less than 5 minutes walk down the road. The room is extremely spacious and the bathroom is the largest one I've had in my 5 weeks in Europe. The room was so liveable and comfortable that I felt sad to leave. It's also very modern, clean, well equipped and have all the toiletries you will need. Breakfast was only 5 euros and it is very well worth the money as there was a good selection of food and drinks. The staff were helpful and housekeeping maintains the room to a high standard. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Venice but not pay the exorbitant prices on the island for a much smaller and less modern room. It also gives you a break from the crowds!

We booked this hotel upon recommendation from a friend and the convenient location to transportation (as prices for hotels on the islands of Venice can be extraordinarily high). Overall, the location was useful for getting to from the airport (took the ATVO bus which was quick and inexpensive), and to the island of Venice. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was clean, but overall we found this to be an average stay at an average hotel. The room was ready upon our arrival even though were checking-in early, although we did notice a bit of a musky/smoking smell inside the hotel and throughout the halls (not sure if smoking rooms are offered or not). The walls were paper-thin and the sound of people talking in the hallways and doors closing were heard very loudly from inside our room. In addition, our room was facing the street and we found it extremely loud at night with the sound of cars and garbage trucks. If staying here, would recommend asking for a room away from the street. Overall, the hotel was clean and conveniently located with helpful staff, but just average.

Been to this hotel on previous occasions and have never been disappointed. One night pre cruise and on way home. Rooms are large, clean with plenty furnishing and TVs/coffee Flat screen tv with wifi.. Large breakfast with plenty of selection Enjoyable stays.

On September 23, our group of 5 spent 1 night pre-cruise in an Avant-triple (double bed and sofa bed) and Avant-double room (double bed). The hotel and rooms were clean, modern,and well-kept. Rooms were outfitted with multiple electrical outlets throughout. Wifi connection worked well throughout the rooms and public areas. Buffet breakfast was amazing with a large selection of hot foods (eggs, meats, vegetables, pancakes) and cold foods (cheese, fruits, pastries, breads, cereals,and yogurt). Front desk staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. They were able to arrange a quick and convenient private shuttle to the port for us. Location was convenient to cruise port and just across the street from the train station. Note that the in-house restaurant offers a 10% discount for hotel guess and allows room charge. I would definitely stay at Hotel Bologna again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice.

The hotel is in such a convenient location - you merely take a few steps and you're in the Mestre station. From there it is 2 train stops to the Venice island, where you can also get water taxis to other islands. This was the fort thing I loved about this hotel. The breakfast buffet had such a nice variety to choose from. The staff were warm and welcoming on our arrival and having travelled to other European countries, getting here and getting such a reception was really refreshing. Their English is fluent and the staff just ALL seem like happy people. The interior of the hotel is tidy and well kept, and there's a nice book corner for avid readers downstairs.

I have highly recommended this hotel to many of my friends! The hotel itself is nothing fancy, however the location is amazing. You do not wake up to look out your windows at the canals in Venice, but you can walk out the front doors and the train station is literally across the street....with trains running to Venice every 15 minutes. The train ride is about 15 minutes and drops you off at the Grand Canal. At first I was disappointed we weren't staying "in Venice", however it is SO easy and quick to get there. And the price difference is astronomical! If you're trying to do Venice on a budget or simply looking for a place to save, stay at this hotel. Personally I would rather spend money on the beautiful Murano glass or a private gondola ride any day! Also tip: for those that don't mind walking to explore the city, there's no need to purchase a grand canal taxi pass for the day/weekend. The city is SO small, we were surprised how fast we got through the whole city. Used the pass once to get to piazza de Marco and never used it again.

If you want to visit Venice and not pay a fortune for your hotel this is the place to be. The location is perfect with very convenient bus service from the airport to the train station. The bus lets you off in a parking lot at one end of the train station so when you leave go to the left and walk about two blocks and hotel is on the corner. Checkin is quick and staff is more than willing to help you with your visit and how to get to and around Venice. Bus stop across the street takes you right in or take the train. We used the bus since you can purchase a combination bus/water shuttle ticket that allows unlimited service by the day. Room while not large is very comfortable and provides everything you need. I didn't find street noise to be a problem and air conditioning worked perfectly. After a long day walking around Venice sleep will not be a problem. Morning breakfast buffet was good and well serviced. Price is a bargain at 5 Euros during the summer high season. If you are spending a few days before a cruise this is the place to be. The City of Venice could be a pain to get around with luggage since steps are everywhere and since everything is serviced by boats expensive as well. We took the bus to the city which lets you off next to the people mover that takes you to the cruise pier. Quick and easy whats not to like. If you don't want to deal with luggage on the bus a taxi from the train station will get you there at a reasonable cost. The train could work but you have to cross a bridge over a canal that has many steps so I wouldn't recommend it.

For Indian Travelers : Pros: 1.) Excellent Location - Right infront of the Mestre Station . 2.) Rooms- Excellent Rooms with all amenities. Good Value for the Price 3.) Bfast- Good Spread 4.) Staff- Very polite staff I would advice you to take hotel in Mestre instead of the main venice grand canal. There are numerous trains running continuously from mestre- grand central every day so going and coming in not an issue. 1.5 euro one side /person. We used to leave in the morning and come back in the night from the main venice city. Mestre is cheaper than the main venice city hotels. You can save a lot of money by choosing a hotel here.

The location was perfect right opposite the railway station. The room was spacious and clean. Good breakfast with a different verity. After all I need to appreciate the staff and Mr. Lino at the front desk in particular who assisted the clients with a great patience.

Beautiful, clean spacious and convenient to bus and train transportation. With these it is easy to get into Venice, to the airport and other cities in Italy. Had excellent service from the staff. Outstanding help from Mirko and Lino at the front desk and Morris in the restaurant/bar. Cleaning staff were very helpful and we were able to communicate even tho we didn't speak the same language. The room was very large compared to most European hotels and especially compared to those in Venice. Local area restaurants are an easy walk from the hotel for a more local feel. Excellent breakfast with wide variety of foods for international travelers. This is a bargain for 5 Euros. We would definitely stay here if we return to this area. A week earlier we had stayed at another hotel in Mestre and there was no comparison of the value we got from Best Western Plus Hotel Bogota.

I'd recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Venice, but who doesn't want the noise of the crowds, and the trouble of getting your luggage through the streets/canals of Venice. It is a short, inexpensive, easy bus ride from Venice Airport, and is right across the street from the Venice Mestre train station. And, it's a short, inexpensive, easy train ride into Venice. The rooms are large, quiet, comfortable, clean, with good internet access, a good restaurant, and friendly, helpful staff. What more could you want?!

The room was good and clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was outstanding. Just a 2 minute walk to the train station and it was less than $1.50 each way to the St Lucia (Ferrovia) station for our walk to St Mark's square. The staff was great as well. Very helpful

They took us in last minute, the front desk staff is super helpful with maps, tips, restaurants, etc., the rooms are huge and big enough to bring a friend/child (in the separate side room), and it was absolutely clean and beautiful. Breakfast was also pretty good. Mostly, I was just so happy with the customer service, tons of towels in the bathroom, and how clean it was. Absolutely without a doubt, I would stay here again.

I didn't expect this hotel to be as nice as it is. The room was bigger than expected, clean, with an ample size closet and space for my other clothes. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bathroom was more than adequate. Breakfast is only 5 euros extra and the breakfast buffet is fine. The staff are really helpful and they speak very good English. Mestre itself doesn't have a lot to recommend it as a destination, but if you are staying here to be near Venice, it's OK. The location, right across the street from the train station, enables you to get into Venice in minutes. You can also take the train up to Treviso, a wonderful ancient town in the heart of prosecco country. The restaurant is much better than expected (reviewed separately), and is worth trying for dinner when you have had a busy day and just want to stay in. There is no ATM at the hotel, and the closest one is a log walk away, so it would be a good idea to get your cash at the airport when you first a arrive.

This is a very convenient hotel. It is located right across the street from the Mestre train station and the bus stop where the Venice Piazzale Roma bus arrives. So for visiting Venice or leaving Venice, the hotel is basically in a perfect location. The room was okay. I was a bit disappointed to find crumbs on the nice leather couch and water and soap stains in the area around the sink. There seemed a general lack of attention to detail in that regard. Otherwise, the bed and crib were clean and overall the room wasn't too bad. Breakfast was okay though there were some odd items like veggies and rice, which was nice and different. The staff were very courteous and provided us with boxed breakfast items due to our early departure. I would recommend this hotel due to the location and the friendly staff.

The hotel and the rooms are really well organized, the rooms were clean and even if they are near a noisy street, there was almost any noise! The receptionists were really friendly and helpful! Venezia Mestre is an excellent place to stay since it is only 10min from Venice. I would suggest it !

We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect (across the street from the train station) if you are driving to Venice. Secure parking on-site was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent with a good assortment of food choices. The internet did get a little slow on our last night & morning, but that is the only flaw we can find. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very good value for the price! Highly recommend this hotel.

Good Location, train station just across the hotel. Easy access by train to the Venice Island. Room is clean and modern. Check in time is 2pm but they let us check in when we were there at 11am. Staffs are courteous and helpful.

excellent Hotel, excellent and reasonable priced breakfast, we plan to come back next year, the only downside is the slow internet in the room (unfortunately very common in Italy), the beds could have been a little softer, nevertheless, excellent Hotel, train and bus station to Venice is around the corner :-)

Interior design of hotel is very good. Furniture is new and rooms are very clean. Hotel personnel is helpful. On the other hand there are not sufficient food options for breakfast. But we are satisfied in general manner. Hotel is 15 minutes away from Venezia by train but price/performance ratio is very good.

We found this to be a lovely hotel which we booked due to the convenience for visiting Venice. It is just round the corner from the train station where we caught the train to Venice. Our room was lovely and big, had air con, tea and coffee making facilities. A lovely big walk in shower in a large marble bathroom. It had excellent internet connection, a very good breakfast choice including pancake making machine. Lovely pizza restaurant about 5 minutes walk away which was recommended by the hotel. Would definately stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. the hotel is very clean and modern design with great staff. Our room was big with two separate bedroom with the bath at the middle . The location is very convince, it is only 15 minutes ride bus with Venice. We bought water Taxi pass for 48 hours that covered bus ride too . it is 30 Euro per person. Their buffet breakfast is awesome and it is worth it. it is 5 Euro per person. We had one dinner in their hotel and I would say it was the best food that we had in Venice. I highly recommend this hotel to every one. you stay a little bit far but you'll get big room , clean and very good service during your stay and the price is much lower than hotel in Venice.

It's simple: we were for two nights in Hotel Best Western Bologna, in Mestre and we have nothing to complain of. Everything was just fine. Cleanliness, staff, breakfast, location, checking in and out, the bar.

This excellent hotel is situated across the street from the Mestre Railway station. It has recently been upgraded and offers an excellent four star service. Rooms are of medium size, clean and inviting. Breakfast is good but over the numerous years we have stayed there have reduced the choice and quality. They have tended to take the cheap processed packaged approach to their food rather than the gastronomic delight it used to be. The location is excellent when travelling into Venice. Walk across the street to the station buy a ticked and be in Venice in ten minutes. Trains run very regularly and this gives a much cheaper alternative rather than tying to lug suitcases around the canals of Venice trying to locate an obscure Hotel. There is also a bust service which departs across the street into Venice but this is not a regular or as comfortable as the train, It also takes a bit longer as it winds its way around Mestre, Would recommend this Hotel as a much more viable alternative. One con would be the lack of good eating venues close by but dinner can be taken in Venice before a short return to the Hotel.

Right across the street from the train station (it takes 10 min to Venice). Our room had a modern decor, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was only 5 euros, a bargain, with a lot of options, everything tasted very good. Service was great.

We stayed in the middle of Venice in San Marco area and also in Mestre at the Best Western Hotel Bologna. This hotel has been upgraded (south wing) and is modern and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is across the road from a train station, so easy to get onto the islands from here.

Although No one helps you with your bags as you go in (bearing in mind the steps you have to go up and down) the reception staff are friendly. You get free water at the reception and biscuits etc. The rooms are clean and have everything you need and the en suites are big and also fully equipped. Breakfast is continental so don't expect to be getting fried or poached eggs it will just be scrambled egg and/boiled. The view is just of the surrounding streets but a good thing about this hotel is that it is across the road from the train station which is only 10 minutes away from Venice central (tourist spot) there is also a halal restaurant down the street for people who do not want Italian cuisine. Overall a great stay. Don't forget you always have to pay city tax which will be on top of what you have already paid.

Traveling with a family, staying in Venice is simply prohibitively expensive. Looking for a more affordable option, we picked this hotel. I was prepared for all the usual compromises one has to make when choosing the cheaper option at a destination like Venice. I was wrong. Staying here there were no obvious compromises. The rooms are big, modern and clean. The front desk and restaurant staff were very helpful. The train too and from Venice was so easy, never more than a 5 min wait. The walk to the hotel is less than 2 min from the station. What was very good, the EUR5 breakfast option. For that price, you actually get a good breakfast, where at other hotels, that's not even a coffee. There are good, and more local restaurants with in a 5-10 min walk and a supermarket less than 5 min away. Local car hire easy, but expensive if you want to go to outlet ( that was disappointing). Shout out to Hertz on the next block who were super helpful too.

My wife and I spent one night here on our way to another destination. We wish we could have stayed longer! The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and modern, and it was very quiet. We were surprised at what we got for the amount we spent.

The hotel itself was very nice and offered clean rooms and a friendly staff. The rooms were spacious. We ended up eating at the restaurant one night and the food was very good. The only downside to the hotel is your not on the island of Venice. You have to take about a 10 minute train ride. The train stations is located across the street from the hotel, but if your wanting to be in Venice, this wouldn't be the right hotel for you. If you don't mind a quick train ride then I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The location is good. The railway station is very close, just by crossing the street. There is a small super market nearby. The staff is nice and help with good service mind. The breakfast is good. The room is nice and clean. Moreover, I like their cotton pads! Besides, I like their idea to saving energy. You can choose to clean and change towel and bed sheet everyday or not by yourself.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July. It was across the street from the train station. The lobby was beautiful. It had a lot of lounge areas for guests to sit and relax. The bar area was a great spot too. We had some drinks and they gave us some snacks while we were sitting there. Our room was HUGE. It had a king sized bed and a sitting area. You could close off the area of the bedroom with sliding doors. The bathroom was also big and had a separate shower and a good sized tub. The breakfast had a lot of items to choose from and was very good. There are a lot of restaurants and stores right around the hotel. It took less than 5 minutes to get to the main areas of Venice by train. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Venice area and looking for a reasonably priced hotel. Mestre was a really nice place to stay if you don't want the crowds of Venice.

Stayed two nights in this hotel in July and really enjoyed my stay there. The room is spacious and clean. The hotel is just opposite the Venezia mestre train station hence exploring Venice is convenient and easy. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast were the same for the two mornings but for Euro 5 per person you can't really complaint.

we booked the hotel for 3 nights . we specified we needed a bath tub . on arrival we were told all the rooms with a tub were taken . no one felt sorry Besides we could not sleep . the walls and the ceiling are very thin and we could hear the steps as well as the voices . a sad experience

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna in August 2017 for a 2 night base to explore Venice before moving onto Lake Garda for our summer holiday. Position wise you cannot beat this hotel, directly opposite the station where trains take only 5 mins to get into Venice. I'd read that this is not the nicest parts of town, but it felt quite safe with lots of tourists everywhere and it's only a base. Of course staying in Venice itself would be nicer, but far more expensive and I didn't envy people lugging their luggage over all those bridges in the heat. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped, and the beds comfortable. We had two rooms and were there in the middle of a heatwave. One room was nice and cool, the other not and adjusting the a/c made no difference. We reported this to reception and they adjusted it centrally, which made no difference. So we reported it again and within a couple of mins the service team were in the room trying to fix the issue. This did not work so they immediately offered us another room, which was nice and cool. A good judge of a hotel is how they deal with problems, and their service in this case was superb. However I heard other people complaining about the temperatures in their rooms, so they clearly have issues and I would recommend reporting inadequate a/c as soon as you arrive so you can switch rooms like we did. The breakfast was good value at 5eur with bacon (which tasted better than it looked), scrambled eggs, a pancake machine, and loads of cold meats/cereals/fruit etc. We also ate in the restaurant on the night of our arrival and it was quite good.

The Hotel front desk staff was friendly and very helpful when we told them what our trip intensions were. When we returned one night the front desk clerk even asked us how it all went. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms that have been remodeled recently. We were a family of 3 in the room, so the sliding doors that separate the master bed from the living area was greatly appreciated. Across the street from the train station in Mestre allowing for easy access to Venice. Especially loved the option for late checkout for a low price of EUR40!

Location is absolutely the best for a visit of Venice, just facing the train station in Mestre (only 2 train stops, trains are very comfortable, very frequent and very inexpensive). It is very easy to access 2 tollways and easy to add a day trip to the beach (to the Lido of Jesolo). Quiet. Room is good, clean and functional, bed is good, modern bathroom, and widest selection of TV channels ever seen. Breakfast is a little limited in selection however the price is good. Secure parking. Wifi worked, A/C worked well, safe in room.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna before flying out of Marco Polo airport. We chose the hotel for its location to the train station (directly across the street) and the airport shuttle (a three minute walk down the street). We did take the train to Venice one day and it was an easy 11 minute ride. The staff were all kind, professional, helpful and welcoming. The hotel was beautiful, clean, updated and comfortable. Our room, a suite, was large with a comfortable bed, great lighting and all of the amenities we needed. Additionally, we lost one of our power adapters and the front desk was able to lend us one. I had read on some reviews of the hotel to ask for a room in the back because the street side rooms were loud. We were on the third floor street side and did not have any issues with noise. For 5 Euro we had the breakfast buffet at the hotel, a deal. Pancakes, croissants, eggs, fruit, rice, bacon...there was plenty to choose from. The previous hotel we stayed at in Venice offered a buffet breakfast for 11 Euro which was horrible. We highly recommend the Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna.

Great hotel...clean and spacious room. Internet was fast and reliable throughout the hotel. The location was our reason for choosing this hotel and it was fantastic! It was directly across the street from the central train station and it was a very short commute to the city center. It was so nice not having to carry our heavy luggage/bags and navigate through the small streets in the city center. I would highly recommend staying here and making the short trip into the center.

Landed late in Venice for a weekend break and didn't want to go to the Island, so booked this hotel before moving to stay on the Island the next day. Super location, just opposite the train station that gets you into Venice Island. Rooms were large and clean and the beds very large. Only bad thing I would say is that the air conditioning was very noisy, I had to switch it off to sleep at night. Breakfast was five euros and had a good small selection. Overall a good convenient place to stay and a lot cheaper than staying on the island.

Just back from 9 nights at the Hotel Bologna and I loved it. The room was spacious and clean and daily housekeeping did a great job of keeping things fresh. I'd purchased a package via United Airlines because it was a deal compared to some of the places in Venice. Some travel websites had a "why would you want to stay in Mestre when going to Venice?!" attitude but I'll say the location of the BWHB proved to be perfect for my needs. Easy walking to the town center and many good local restaurants of every type and price point. The train station was literally across the street which allowed me to easily take trips to Venice as well as Bologna, Padua, Florence, Noale and Treviso. The rate to get to Venice is only 1.25 Euro and runs frequently. Other locations had multiple scheduled trains at different speeds and rates. And the bus station located right next to the train station offered 8 Euro rides to the Venice airport (Marco Polo) leaving regularly and just a quick 17 minutes door to door when I used it. When purchasing my room, I didn't opt for the daily breakfast plan but could opt in when I wanted to for the same rate. There was a nice variety of hot choices and the baked goods were delicious. The dining room staff was very efficient in refilling food stations and cleaning the tables of used plates etc. The other in-house restaurant DaTura was wonderful as well. The night our waiter was Daniel was really busy and yet we were taken care of very nicely and the food was amazing. Another sweet treat was the fruit infused water available in the lobby, always two types available. One of the desk clerks told me that some guests zoom right past them for some water without saying Buon Giorno! And while I'm on the topic, I will give high praise for all the staff I dealt with. Whether getting me early check-in (9am flight arrival), printing my boarding passes when leaving, options for transportation to meet up with friends staying at a distance or even posing for a photo (Elena looks just like my sister-in-law), they were always cheery and incredibly helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat (the thought of staying in Venice seems romantic but I don't think I have the patience for it) and I've already recommended it to friends. I felt safe wandering the streets of Mestre late at night. The soundproofing between the rooms could stand a bit of improvement perhaps (or the guests could quiet down) but nothing unmanageable or too late. And, with all this, my opinion of the Best Western brand is definitely changed for the better.

Stayed here two Nights for a visit to Venice. The staff was very helpful and gave us very good advice regarding sightseeing in Venice. It is very easy to get to Venice from the hotel, only 12 min by Train, and the trainstation is just across the street. The hotel is very modern and the room was very spacious and clean.

The room was nice and clean and perfect for us with two children. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a nice start to the day. The location is great with only a short drive from the airport (15 minutes) and the train station directly across the street with hire cars available just down from that.

Stayed at the BW Bologna for 3 nights. Room was very modern, large and clean. Great service from the front desk. Breakfast is not included but worth the small fee. Great location, right across from the train station, and Venice island was only 10-15 minutes by train. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. Always happy to give directions to our next sightseeing adventure. The hotel is across the street from the railway station and made getting around very easy. The hotel room is spacious & very clean. We had a welcome bottle of Prosecco waiting in the room for us as Expedia VIPs. The breakfast is varied and value at €5 per day. Would definitely recommend this hotel for visitors to Venice and only 90mins away on the train to Verona.

Nice large contemporary room that is exceptionally clean with a very good breakfast buffet of many items to choose from. Also close to the train station and bus stop make it very convenient. I took the flyer bus from the airport which dropped me off a block from the hotel.

We stayed at the BW Hotel Bologna and were very pleased. The location is fantastic. The train station is right across the street along with bus stops. The room was very nice. Not real large, but more than adequate by European standards. The breakfast was excellent! Many choices of things to eat and quite good. Staff was very polite and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if in Venice/Mestre.

This is a lovely hotel just outside of Venice. The location is nice and quiet and I personally love being just out of the city. There is a train station and plenty of nearby bus stops which is extremely helpful too! The staff were lovely and helpful.

This hotel was recommended by friends, it being so handy to the station and just out of central Venice. We highly recommend it ourselves. Upon arrival we had a very warm greeting from the reception staff who could not have been more helpful. We could not be more pleased with our stay at this lovely caring hotel. The rooms were very clean and modern and very spacious. Kettle and tea and coffee were provided. Table and chairs and a good wardrobe for clothing. The bathroom was also the same. Given the space, perhaps if remodelling a slightly larger basin with say a vanity unit would be good to put ones things on top. The shower was over the bath - a bit hard - but they had also put a pull out line over it for washing which was very helpful. A complimentary bottle of Proseco was sent up to us on arrival with some chocs. We took this to the restaurant to have with dinner and they didn't mind at all. The meal was very nice and reasonable price for a hotel restaurant. We did not really see anywhere we would nearby to eat that would have been as good. Excellent waiter service too. The breakfast room was very spacious and not too crowded together. A wonderful fresh breakfast was available and we could not speak more highly of the waitresses. When we needed an iron the hotel staff were very obliging and brought it and the board up to the room and then collected it later. A couple of jugs of lemon/orange water were at the reception desk to have on a hot day. All usual amenities, TV, hair dryer, etc. Our room overlooked the street and it was noisy but OK with the window shut. Not a problem! Certainly beats getting a hotel in Venice itself. Very reasonable rates for the quality. We did not even have to go back into Venice to get our train to Florence. Don't forget to validate your Eurail Pass by writing in the date and also your daily ticket into Venice at the station. The Hop on Boat ticket is valid for 24 hours so if for example you buy it at 10 am you can catch it again for free before 10 am the next day. But you will have to get another boat back. I was warned about pickpockets on the vaporettas but they seemed OK and were a reasonable price.

Great location across the street from the Mestre train station, very friendly and helpful staff. The room was huge. Easy access into Venice for €1.25 by train. Breakfast was excellent. The only drawback is that you can hear people in the hallway and in the bathroom next too you.

Now our review is way way way overdue. We travelled way back in October many years ago, but I will absolutely never forget this hotel. I travelled with my (now) husband for a long weekend. After attempting to eat in the city of Venice a few times, which was a disaster each time, we gave up and started eating at the hotel instead. It was so much better. We absolutely loved this hotel and have such fond memories of it. I remember at the time when booking this hotel, we were nervous as some of the reviews said you could hear through the rooms sound wise and we knew the hotel was newly renovated. Well the hotel room was beautiful and so well done. We had absolutely no complaints. The train station was literally across the road from the hotel and at the time we travelled only cost 1 euro into Venice and it was only 1-2 stops away depending which train you took, which took no time at all to get into. On our last day there was a food festival close by. We just feel this hotel deserves a good review.

I stayed here for several days prior to a cruise. The location is excellent. As described by others the proximity to the rail station could not be any better. The train ride into Venice was very quick and economical and the trains run frequently. The hotel itself is a typical Best Western and the breakfast very nice. I had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it also was very nice. Prior to my stay I had made arrangements through the hotel to be picked up at Marco Polo Airport to the hotel and also to be taken to the cruise port from the hotel. Both of those arrangements were handled promptly and efficiently and I was very pleased. The next time I have a cruise either out of or returning to Venice I will certainly consider the Best Western Bologna Hotel.

Very glad we ( 3 couples )) chose the Hotel Bologna. We stayed 3 nights before our cruise on Celebrity Constellation. We were a walk across the street to the train station and then a 10 min ide into Venice. The hotel arranged for a shuttle pick-up from the airport- a 15 min drive and 60 euros for all of us including luggage..with drop off at front of hotel. On the day of cruise , again shuttle to pier again 60 euros for all of us..and we were dropped off at ship. The staff at the hotel is wonderful, friendly, accommodating. The rooms- we decided to chose the king junior suite -2 rooms price difference well worth it!. Beds comfortable, showers great, amenities and breakfast for 4 euros the best we have ever had.

Spent 2 nights here, it's directly across the road from mestre station a 5 minute train trip to Venice. The rooms are clean, great showers and brilliant service at reception and in the bar/restaurant. A 5 euro buffet breakfast is available and is good value for money. Would defiantly recommend this place.

Stayed here twice now and been very pleased on each occasion. Reception are very helpful and friendly and we got an early check in which was great. Rooms are spacious, modern, clean and comfortable, couldn't ask for more. Location is key - right across from the station with trains running every ten mins to Venice Santa Lucia station. Far easier to stay here than try and get to a hotel in Venice and pay over the odds for it. Breakfast was excellent, very friendly staff. Also a restaurant and coffee shop attached for a quick bite or coffee. Thumbs up.

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel while visiting Venice. The hotel is located directly across the street from the train and bus stations, making it extremely easy to get to the hotel with luggage, and extremely easy to use the trains and busses to get to Venice, or Verona, or Padua, or the airport. There are large elevators, a computer connected to the internet in the lobby. The hotel is top notch, with a fantastic breakfast and the location can't be beat.

On the last evening of a twelve night tour of Croatia and Slovenia, we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Bologna in Mestre before departing from Venice the next morning. Although we didn't arrive in Mestre until noon, we quickly checked in, dropped our bags and then ran across the trees to the train station to catch the 10 minute commuter over the causeway to Venice. Thank you for the early check-in! The location is perfect to visit Venice without having to schlep luggage to and around the sestre. Some of our group stayed down near St. Marks Square and had to pull and transfer luggage from train to vaparetto to hotel....No Thanks! With trains leaving about every 15 minutes, it was so easy to simply cross the street to the station, buy a ticket and get on the train. Aside from being in the perfect location, the rooms were just average. One suggestion. Ask for directions on use of room lighting. In many European hotels, the room card has to be put in a slot when you enter the room to get the lights and AC to function. In this room, the lights came on automatically upon entry, but turned off about a minute later. Each time you opened the door, the lights would go on again. Eventually, I had to trot down to the front desk to get directions on how to keep the lights on. The other highlight was the dining room. While not busy, I had th best table-side prepared sea bream with sautéed vegetables. Service was great and the meal was spectacular. The buffet breakfast was disappointing....the least memorable of the six hotels stayed at during our tour. I've had better breakfast buffets in US chain hotels. But the key here was location!!

We arrived early, room not ready but gave us another room that was, very helpful. Located across street from train station. Being the dummy I am in a foreign country needed help buying tickets to St. Lucia station and directions and buying tickets for airport express bus, this was EXPLAINED TO ME IN DETAIL with a smile.I had no problems following directions. The staff is a big plus staying here. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are better than expected, if you are a TV person, plenty of channels with HD television. Bathrooms very nice. Go for it. stay here you will not go wrong.

not knowing anything about venice, im so glad i booked this hotel location away from venice. it was about a 12 minute train ride into venice with alot of trains going to and from mestre. saw so many people lugging all their luggage into venice thru the bridges and narrow alley ways, i was relieved that somehow i booked this hotel. hotel receptionist were very helpful and polite, breakfast was great. my only complaint would be that the walls were super thin and i could hear our neighbors conversations. didnt bother me all that much as i wasnt in the room much. would definitely book again if i were to ever go back to venice. (which i probably wont but thats another review) also its right in front of the train station, and in front of airport shuttle (8 euros and 20 minutes to marco polo airport)

I thought this was a nice hotel and great value. It was pretty easy to get around by taking the bus into Venice. However nothing is around within walking distance. Also this is a lower end neighborhood so I was a bit leery of the area and safety. But it was about half the price of Venice hotels.

My husband and I have just spent 3 nights at Hotel Bologna in Mestre. A friend of mine recommended we stay here due to the proximity to the train line and easy access to Venice and I'm so glad we took his advice. The hotel is really modern with beautiful furnishings throughout. Our room was huge with a very comfy double bed and a spacious bathroom with large shower. Breakfast was American style but really good, we often skipped having coffee at the hotel and had an espresso in Venice itself - for 1 euro it's worth it! The hotel is literally across the road from the Mestre train station which makes it really easy to locate. We used the train multiple times a day, going to and from Venice, only taking 10 minutes each way, this was a breeze. In Venice I noticed so many tourists dragging their bags down the tiny streets, lost, trying to find their hotel, this is when I was glad we stayed in Mestre as it was easy to get to and still so central. I hope to come back to Venice one day, it is such a beautiful place and thanks to Bologna for making our stay even more memorable.

A very nice hotel with friendly staff and amazing rooms with even super amazing bathroom. Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was cheaper at 4 euros.The train station is on the other side of the road. Overall felt good.

Super friendly, welcoming, helpful and professional staff. Public areas are very smart. Rooms are a little clinical - not much in the way of 'comfort'. That would be ok if it wasn't for the one major problem that ruined our stay. The room stank - of drains, and that's putting in politely. Running water, flushing the toilet, opening the window - nothing seemed to help. We were only there for one night so we didn't make a big deal of it - but it ruined our stay. Otherwise location is good and the breakfast is very good value. But beware the air....

I have returned here many times as the staff is beyond wonderful. They are amazing. The food, the room and kindness. It feels like coming home each time I return! It is so easy to jump on the train to Venice and the parking is great.

Location is amazing. Staff was kind. Enjoyed the cookies and fruit infused water at front desk. Bought 48 hour Venice card from hotel which included bus transportation. Bus stop is across street. Had a 3 person room which was very nice and large for European standards. Only minor issue is that it is a 15 min bus or 10 minute train ride to Venice. Plus if you want to go east Venice it can be an additional 30-45 minutes walk/boat ride. But after watching people struggle with luggage in Venice, it made us love our decision to stay at this hotel! Bus drops you off directly in front of boat dock so very convenient.

We stayed here during our trip to Venice. There was good, and there was not so good. Let's start with the good. 1. The location is great. We drove to Venice. So staying in Venice proper was not a great idea for us. Parking, getting bags to the hotel...the logistics of it all didn't sound good. This hotel was a great pick for that. It's directly across the street from the train station. The train (which leaves every 10 minutes or so) is a quick and easy ride to the Santa Lucia train station in Venice. 2. The parking. We parked our car safe and sound at the hotel for only $10/day. 3. The bathroom. Ours was huge. Both a shower. And a tub. And plenty of light from a very large widow. 4. I felt safe arriving and exiting the hotel at all hours. Now for the things that could have used some attention. 1. The flies. I get it, it's Europe, no screens, and its hot. But the amount of flies in our room was a little ridiculous. 2. The air conditioner. It ran. But it would shut off during the day and in the middle of the night. Which means that when you arrive back home from a very long (hot) day in Venice, you have to crank it on an wait for it to cool down. For us folks from cold places, a well working a/c is a must.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before our cruise in Venice. We were upgraded to a room in the new south section of the hotel. I have to say it was fantastic. The bathroom was well appointed with ultramodern fixtures and a magnificent shower stall. wooden floors, mood lighting, free slippers, comfortable bed. We loved it!

We recently returned from Venice and while there stayed at the Best Western Bologna Hotel which is located in Mestre just outside Venice. Great location opp the Railway station and very close to the bus station only a 15 min journey into Venice and the water taxis. The hotel is very comfortable and modern, the rooms nicely sized and great walk in showers. Beds very comfortable. They also serve a great breakfast. Finally the staff are really friendly and helpful!! Will stay there again.

When looking for a place to stay in Venice we were scared of the prices and hotel qualities in the island... very expensive places that we didnt like, we usually prefer newer places... Best Western offered new rooms with a decent price, and amazing location, just across the street we took the train ($1.25/trip) to the island. Suggestion is to increase the size of the shower area, the bathroom is very big but the shower area itself is ridiculous small, I'm 6'00 (1.85m) and could barely move inside it...

I stayed regularly at this hotel 10 years ago. It still doesn't disappoint. The restaurant has been upgraded in line with the rest of the hotel and as others have said, you can't beat €4 for a buffet breakfast - anywhere. Rooms still nice and large, modern and comfortable. Showers excellent. Handy for train station - €2.50 still each way. We stayed over May Day holiday and OK it was very busy on the Sunday but still a short journey up to Venice as we bought our tickets the night before. Stay in Venice if you want the atmosphere. Stay in Mestre if you want quiet, space and comfort at a economical price. Bus to the airport is €8 each way.

Just returned from our break to Venice and the BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Bologna - Mestre Station was one of the highlights of our trip. We were quite worried about staying outside of Venice itself, but as for so many people we had to balance quality and cost. We upgraded to a Superior Room and it was fabulous, quiet, comfortable and spacious, the sort of luxury that would cost a small fortune in Venice, and as for location, it's directly opposite Venice Mestre train station and it takes 10 minutes to Venice Ferrovia Station at a cost of 1.25 Euros per journey. The best thing about being in Mestre was that the crowds in Venice can become a bit tiring so it's nice to be able to get away from them should you wish. The breakfast, which wasn't included for us, only cost 4.00 Euros per person and was worth every penny with a great selection of both hot and cold dishes with juices and coffee a plenty. All in all an absolutely fantastic stay and should we ever return to Venice I'll be staying here for sure!

If you're traveling to Venezia and don't want to spend a lot by staying in the city, Mestre and this hotel are a great option. The hotel is just in front of the train station of Mestre, where you can take a train to Venezia with just 1.25 euros and be in the city in 10 minutes. I would definitely do it again. (The rooms are nice, but please don't expect them to be like the one they display in the pictures @ every site. Rooms are way more smaller, but clean and decent in size.)

Super friendly staff, big spacious rooms, downright cheap (4 euros) and bountiful breakfast buffet, and excellent location- who could ask for more? Our three night stay was as pleasant as it gets. The nice maitre d at the breakfast room even recognized me after the first day and directed me to my early-rising husband each morning. There is round the clock room service if you wish. Located right across from the Mestre train station for making those short hops into Venice, or traveling to other Italian cities. Fast and efficient check in and check out. Best Western should be very proud of this Italian franchise!

Reception staff good and helpful. Room Very nice, comfy bed , large tv. Location excellent. Downside : restaurant menu very uninspiring . Rooms not soundproof. Doors banging, you can hear toilets flushing and furniture being moved in nearby and rooms above. Shame, as the standard of the rooms is very good.

This hotel rates a 5, as it is a very high quality hotel and very well priced for the area. Good value hotels in Venice, 5 minutes by train, are located near Piazza Roma and cost near $200. This is a very nice modern hotel with rooms much larger than average, in a good location across the street from the rail station in Mestre, priced in the $130 range. Mestre is the first rail stop when leaving the Venice train station going almost anywhere. We took the train to Padua, for 3.6 euro each. The hotel staff is friendly and the front desk staff speak flawless English. The restaurant is also very good and well priced, even more of a dramatic comparison to restaurants on the island.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely modern room, spacious, airy, very clean and well looked after. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was amazing value and quality for only 4 Euros. Great location - right opposite the train station but not at all noisy. We slept really well in the very comfortable beds.

Hotel is much nicer than you will find in Venice proper. Room is clean, and much larger. Right in front of train station. Do not let the train to Venice scare you. Facing the train station from hotel, you want to go on a train going left to Venice. It's usually on the very first track as you approach the platform. I.e. No need to go down stairs and under. Go to any of the red ticket machines, if crowded there are others on the platform. Press English. Choose train from Mestre Venezia to Santa Lucia Venezia which is the end of the line. It is a very short train ride and is $1.25 Euro each way. Buy the round trip to save time on the return. Euro or credit cards accepted. Once you have your ticket, proceed to the platform, trains run every few minutes. There are small validation machines on the posts by the train. Insert your ticket and it will punch it. Not sure the value add of that, but it is what we were told. You have purchased a second class ticket which just means no assigned seat. The glass doors on the train car will say "classe 2". I didn't see any with 1, but just in case. On the return, just get on the same train or almost any train leaving. You may or may not have a stop between Santa Lucia and Mestre. If you stop at Santa Marghera do not get off there. Easy. Usually my rule is just follow the most tourists. If you are driving in, there is reserved parking behind the hotel. When you approach the gate, it will say full in Italian and not give you a ticket. Just press assistance and tell them you are checking in. They will tell you to push the button and a ticket will come out and gate will rise. Enjoy.

Excellent location infront of train station and bus stop to Venice. Nice and clean rooms with comfortable beds and very quiet in the evening. Very good breakfast with a lot of choices and an excellent espresso. Attentive staff and very reasonable prices.

Arriving at this hotel we were not encouraged by the exterior. Inside was a different story and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are modern, extremely clean, newly furnished, comfortable beds. The bathroom was one of the best we have seen. We even had a separate living room between the bedroom area and the bathroom. There is a restaurant on site for dinner, and the position is fantastic - right across the road from the local railway station providing quick and easy transport to the city centre. We were very impressed. Highly recommended.

Stayed here in late April 2016. This is our second visit to Venice, the first time we stayed in the heart of Venice & hated the place, This time we stayed just out of Venice & loved the place. Staying in Mestre is a great alternative if you are visiting Venice. It is only 10 minutes by train to Venice. For those who have been looking at hotel reviews in Venice, you would have noticed anything cheap is rubbish & everything else is expensive and also not so good, so do yourself a favour and stay at the Best Western Bologna. This is a modern & comfortable hotel, we were actually surprised how good it was. The rooms are spacious & clean with comfortable bed. The bathroom was also modern & clean, with good water pressure. People at reception are really helpful. There is a great little Pizza restaurant 5 minutes walk down the road, (just ask reception for the name & location). Great for dinner, food and price was really good and you avoid the high food prices in Venice. We would definately go back if we returned to Venice.

Best ever shower Crone almost like you are under waterfall. Shower is even better than in Sanarino's Joli, San Marino. Modern hotel with all what you need. Perfect hotel to stay near Venezia and after that to continue you trip through Europe. We will come again.

Positives: Directly opposite Venice Mestre train station. Smart and clean - good sized rooms. Comfortable beds with no noise at night from either the street or adjacent bedrooms. Great spread at breakfast with a large choice of food. My review is marked down because of the below... Negatives: I'm always disappointed when I come across negative attitudes at reception. Check in was fine and conducted by a very pleasant lady and young chap. Shame this wasn't repeated at check out where I encountered an extremely obnoxious middle/elder aged man in glasses who was abrupt, dismissive of my queries and generally had no interest in being pleasant. He carried a superior air about him! Perhaps had I worn chinos with cufflinks I may have had a different tone from him - still this man does no favours to the other hotel staff who I found to be both nice and efficient. Suggest the chain review this member of staffs demeanour or send him on an etiquette course!

There are two things that make this hotel the best choice to visit Venice, for as many days as you want. First, location - it is just in front of the railway station and for a 5 euros return ticket it brings you directly in the heart of Venice. It's simply perfect. Second, the hotel itself: the place is beautiful, very well renovated, with a fantastic breakfast and super-nice staff. Clean, pleasant to stay, well kept: excellent. When we arrived (we stayed only one night, and it was our first stay in this hotel) for reasons I did not understand they put in our room a champagne bottle (on the house!) and made us feel like we were old friends coming back home. Unbeatable. And, the price was very reasonable, and thinking we were 20 min from the center of Venice, it was actually very cheap!!!

We stayed after a cruise only for one night but the hotel is beautiful, it is clean, the rooms are modern the bathroom, the restaurant downstairs and bar are modern and a nice place. I loved it I would consider staying there on next trip to Venice for certain!

Perfect location for traveller, it is located just in front of the meestre station you just cross the street to go to the hotel. Hotel itself is nice considered quite new and room size is big for those of you with big luggage this one is perfect. Breakfast is okay but good value since you only spend 4euro for a person for a buffet breakfast. If you want to save money for Venetian trip then this hotel is perfect. Located 15 minutes by train to San Marco you got bigger room than any of Venezia hotel.

The hotel is very well located near the train station and very fast connection to both airport and Venice. We came with a baby and we needed assistance from the staff. They were very friendly and helped us to solve the issues ar an incredible speed. I strongly recommend yhe place.

This was a reasonable hotel to stay in, away from the crazy crowds of Venice. I am glad we stayed here as opposed to the heart of Venice. It's a very quick/ easy train ride . We had a very nice stay. Our only issue was the front desk called us at 6 AM for a noise complaint and woke up the entire family , way too early.

Extremely friendly staff, from the front desk to the bartenders. Room was clean and a little bigger than some. Fridge, safe, and large bathroom. Was right by the train/bus station so getting into the heart of Venice was easy and pretty quick. Very clean, with a modern bar with good prices and knowledgeable tenders.

I spent a weekend in venice and I stayed at the hotel with a friend. Recently completely restored with new rooms and spacious bathrooms, excellent facilities including a car park the hotel enjoys the perfect locations just in front of the train station. A freuqent train service took us to venice in 10 mins. Our room looking inside the courtyard was very quite and full of light! Buffet breakfast was quite rich and with quality foods. Hotel service was good and we appreciated the efficient and nice staff.

Spent two nights here. The hotel is clean and very accessible to Venice (the train station is across the streets and runs every 10 minutes to Venice). Apart from that the location of the hotel is less than to be desired. Mestre has seen better days, I would not venture out by yourself at night. While the room was very clean the hotel is not sound proof at all. Guests will hear noises from the street as well as those from fellow guests. While the rate was fair I don't think I will be staying there again for my next visit.

Venice the magical city is often discouraging due to high prices of hotels. A good alternative is the Hotel Bologna on the mainland(Mestre) directly across the street from the train station. (Be warned of some noise at night if you face the direction and leave the windows open). It is a short, 3 euro train ride to St. Lucia station where you can walk through the city or board a water taxi to St Marks. Rooms were small but comfortable with modern baths with walk in showers. Breakfast was more than expected with cold meats and cheese, breads, cereal etc. Front desk staff were most helpful in securing taxi to the pier.

Situated on a street literally opposite the Venezia Mestre station, this hotel is a convenient place to stay at if you are visiting Venice. The main station is Venezia St Lucia which is only a 10min train ride away, trains are frequent and fares are cheap (about €1.25 one way pp). Staff was welcoming and professional, and very helpful too. For first timers in Venice like my husband and I, they gave us a street map and showed us where we could walk or take a water taxi for the best views of Venice. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. They also provide a water kettle and tea/coffee making facilities which is something usually unheard of when visiting European countries. A mini refrigerator is provided as well. Bathroom was large and spacious too, with a bathtub. The breakfast spread was good too, they have a self-service pancake machine which is entertaining for the little children. Sadly we were rushing to catch an early train to Frankfurt and couldn't enjoy the breakfast as much as we would have liked. Highly recommended!

I booked here thinking I could save money by staying here while visiting Venice. Wrong!!! The neighborhood was seedy and the room was excessively hot for some unknown reason. When I complained they simply said the air conditioning was turned off for the season. Also it was really inconvenient to not have a room in Venice. When you leave the hotel we had to be gone all day so you lose the convenience of having a hotel room to stop back in if you simply need a rest or a restroom. We discovered a far better hotel in Venice, the Best Western Olimpia. Even though we realized our mistake in booking here on the first day they would not let us cancel the second day so we had to wait until the third day to switch hotels. The Olimpia was so much better than this hotel in so many ways (and only cost $25 more per night), I deeply regret being stuck here for two days. At least I only had to put up with the excessive heat at night because we were on the streets of Venice all day unable to return. Also there is nothing to do around this hotel except avoid sleazy looking characters.

I have stay at this hotel in the end of September. The hotel is new, nice and have very friendly staff. At reception the check-in was quick and the staff have all patience to explain the surroundings and transport to Venice. Room was one of the biggest I have had during my trip in Italy. The location is great. Train station to Venice is just across the road and the bus stand as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

We made a decision to stay out of the touristic Venice area and instead chose BW Bologna. Just after I booked, realised that I needed information on likely time frame to travel and reach a touristic meeting point . My email query got a detailed and prompt response from Marina, The sales manager. Thank you so much -felt reassuring before we even landed. The hotel is stone's throw away from the Train station and cant even dream of a better location. The triple room we had booked was very spacious. We could purchase the water taxi pass from the hotel itself. Buffet breakfast was awesome.Overall a great stay.

Ideal spot for a 2 night visit to Venice. This is located across the road from Venezia Mestre Station, only 2 stops from Venice. Travelling with our 10 year old, this has the benefit of an extra bedroom. Rooms are clean, spacious and modern. Unfortunately we left a Kindle behind but the staff were good enough to locate it and send it to us by courier once we paid the costs . The only issue I have is that the rooms are not that well soundproofed from noises in the corridor outside.

We chose this hotel because it is conveniently located - the opposite side of the street from the Mestre train station. Also, the hotel carries the Best Western brand. There is of course a price for this. Nice breakfast and a very good restaurant for dinner after touring the islands of Venice. Seek a room whose windows are not facing the internal courtyard, unless you wish to wake up at 4 a.m. at the noise of staff pushing trolleys around.

I would sing the praises of this hotel from the rooftops. Its location, decor, staff, interior design are all exceptional. There is very little to fault about the hotel. Location: Couldn't be better. It is not Central Venice , it is an unassuming suburb and this is reflected in the price. If this hotel was in Central Venice it would cost a fortune. However, it is only a 10 minute 1€50 bus ride from outside the hotel into Piazza di Roma. The train station is opposite giving easy access not only to Venice but to Treviso and Padua. Furthermore the Airport shuttle stop is only 200 metres away . The decor of the hotel is a wonderful feature. Modern and tasteful even if the hotel is actually from the late 19th century. The bathroom tiles are a bit OTT and are bright blue stripes a bit like a gondoliers t-shirt! The restaurant is truly excellent and the area itself is very tastefully designed. Food generally of a very high quality . The waiting staff Arianna and Antonio were the personificaction of perfection and their expertise and attention to their diners shone through. I thought we were going to leave with no ill feelings and I would definitely return to the hotel. However, on our last night the hotel had taken a booking for a Lions Club dinner which meant that the hotel guests did not have the use of the normal restaurant and were pushed into the daytime cafe area. Because of the Lions Dinner , the standard of food slipped dramatically and the usual ambiance was gone. A great pity and the hotel needs to decide who comes first , their guests or the local business community. If it cannot please both then someone will be dissatisfied. Maybe we were just unlucky , but if I knew that the usual excellent restaurant was not available, then I would eat elsewhere. Having said that , this hotel would be first on my list for a return to Venice

I must admit that the neighborhood leaves nothing to be desired. With that said, the location directly across the street from the Mestre train station could not be more perfect. With car rental companies just around the corner (do not use Hertz, go to the Avis/Budget office) we had no problem visiting other towns for the day. The Mestre train station is 10 minutes from Venice San Lucia train station ... so very convenient! The hotel staff could not be more helpful, the wait staff excellent, and the food in the two restaurants are very good. My overall rating would be Excellent for the property itself, but the neighborhood is so terrible that I has to take it a notch down.

A short (and cheap) 10 minute train ride into Venice. Located across the street from train station. Fully renovated and modern hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet. Clean, spacious, modern rooms and free wifi. Lots of restaurants nearby but Mestre is not a large town and not a lot to do or see. Very reasonable pricing, a bargain compared to Venice itself.Staff were young and helpful. Parking in a gated lot behind hotel is 10 Euros/day - very reasonable.

Stayed 3 nites here. The rooms are clean,big and very modern with fast wi-fi. 20 - 25 min to/from the A/P by bus or taxi, and 10 - 15 min to Venice by metro or bus. Very good breakfast with great coffee. The hotel bistro has great baguettes , sandwiches and salads. the train station is a cross the street, a grocery store, pharmacy and ATM is a 5 min walk, the hotel has a secured parking lot , great staff very helpful. Decided to stay here as we didnt fancy dragging our suitcases across the cobble stones in Venice ,and this hotel was a wonderful find. The local bus takes you from right outside the airport to right outside the hotel,where you can take either a train or the bus to the vaporetta stop in Venice. The check in was fast,and the staff so helpful.Our room was a 2 room suite with a very large new bathroom (a double shower and a bath ),facing onto a courtyard ,so very quiet. Everything appeared new and all was spotless. I requested breakfast before we left home and the manager gave us a special rate.Highly recommend eating there as it was far superior to our cruise breakfast..they also serve other meals. I booked this hotel with Canadian airmiles.

Our room was beautiful, clean, very modern and well appointed. Only downside was street sounds at night. Heard everyone talking on the street below and every loud, car, truck, bus or Moto. Request a room in the back facing the parking lot.

The nicest hotel we stayed at on our trip to Italy. We had a full size shower, which was a treat! Very spacious room, and the hotel seemed to be very new or newly remodeled. Directly across the street from Mestre Station, which meant for a very easy train ride into Venice.

This hotel was very convenient to stay for sailing out on a cruise. It is across the causeway from Venice but therefore was easy to catch a taxi to take you directly to the port. Though we only stayed one night, one could easily take a 10 minute train ride into Venice's main station.

When we were looking for a hotel in Venice a friend recommended checking out their hotel in the Mestre area. While I was checking it out the BW Bologna popped up. I checked the ratings on TripAdvisor and was very impressed with the ratings - 90% Very Good or Excellent is pretty amazing. Because we knew we would be a bit jet legged we wanted to eliminate as many hassles as possible and I figured that a hotel with ratings this good could solve problems if there were any. Fortunately we had none. The hotel room was spacious, not luxurious, but very comfortable and everything we required. The breakfast in the morning was very appealing and all staff members we encountered were courteous and helpful. We were impressed!

Have visited 6 hotels in Italy and this hotel has the largest room that comfortably fits 2 huge luggages and 2 adults without haven't to side step. It's not on Venice but it's convenient just opposite the Venice mestre station ( across the street). To get to Venice either take the bus (15-20mins) or train (10-15mins). The bus tends to get a little crowded (watch your bags) while getting on the right train from Venice to Venice mestre may be a little daunting for first timers. Overall the stay at the hotel was good, nothing to fault, reasonable breakfast, spacious toilets and room, clean and modern.

Stayed there one night. The front desk staff members we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast for 4 Euro per person. The room was clean and quiet, but small. We chose this hotel mainly because of its location, across from the train station and one block away from the bus depot. It is very pricey for what they offer. Now that I am somewhat familiar with the area and if I do it again, I would choose another hotel, 15 minute walk from the train station, higher rated and about 50 Euro less than Bologna.

It was a very nice hotel. The room was modern and they had free wifi. It was opposite the bus stop and railway which were both easy for Venice. The only con was that it was nearly 3pm before we could check into our room we had being travelling all morning and needed a shower and a change of clothes before exploring Venice. The staff were very polite and did take our bags until our room was ready.

While this hotel is a little tricky to get to and has very limited parking for 10 euros a day, it is right across the street from the train station. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to Venice and trains run frequently. We found the front desk staff to be friendly and helpful-especially Barbara. The rooms were clean and quite large and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was nice and bright (as it had a window) and there was actually Kleenex in the room, which we rarely found in hotels in Italy. There was even a real hair dryer in the bathroom. Most places we had a dryer that had a 1 foot cord and a button that you constantly had to press to get it to work.The view out our window was of the parking lot, but that was ok as we were only there for 1 night and did not spend much time in the room. The halls smelled very nice and the maids were friendly. Breakfast was good for 4 euros, but we did not find there was a great selection for restaurants within walking distance for dinner. We did have a rental car, but it is a real hassle to drive anywhere with all of the ZTL. By 6 am we had a lot of noise with garbage and recycle trucks, so that was a bit annoying. There were 2 lifts, but one was extremely small.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, using it as our base when visiting Venice. Location is great, just across the road to the train station and then no need to take suitcases through the cobbled laneways of Venice. Trains are so frequent from early morning through to the night that it's never an issue not staying there. And the value for money in comparison is great! The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are huge. Staff are friendly and helpful, plenty of breakfast options. There is a laundromat a couple of blocks up the road if you need one, and we picked up a hire car from Hertz which was one block away, easy to get to with our suitcases.

We stopped off here for a night on the way to Marco Polo Airport the following day. We had just arrived by train from Austria so the location is great. It really is right across the street from the Mestre Station. The hotel has gone through a major renovation and added a variety of new rooms and facilities. It is very modern inside in all areas. We had a superior room in the new wing and after a small issue regarding the room we were immediately given a new room. The rooms are large, well equipped and all have excellent huge bathrooms. The bar is a very nice area after a day for a drink, and we had dinner in their restaurant as well. The food was fantastic, some of the best we had in Venice, beautifully cooked, and plated with lots of variety in the menu. Excellent selection of wine by the glass and bottle. Breakfast is included in the price of the rooms and is presented in a large sunny room with lots of selection. There is a nice collage of historical photos in the lobby showing the history of the hotel as well, which is a very nice touch.No complaints at all, too bad we only stayed one night, compared to the prices of hotels in venice itself its a bargain to stay there and take the bus or train to Piazza Roma and the city itself. The direct bus to the airport is only 100 meters away down the street and at 8 euros a cheap alternative to a taxi. Staff are all excellent and very helpful and polite. Well worth it and a great value.

This hotel is right across the street from area where you get your train tickets and catch the train to get into Venice! It was a 1 1/2-2 block walk from where the ATVO dropped us off from the airport, so not far to pull your luggage. Others that we talked to that stayed in Venice, were dragging their suitcases over bridges( with steps) to try to get to their hotels. The train system was easy to figure out and there are people to ask if needed. If the ambience of staying in Venice is what you wish for, then this hotel isn't for you. The price was great, Marco at the front desk was fantastic at giving us directions and gave us an easy map to follow. There is a free breakfast and they have a nice restaurant for dinner, as well. The accommodations are very modern but clean and very nice.

The title says it all-very impressive in all respects. Best Western Bologna has the perfect location near the Mestre rail station and in close proximity to the bus service terminating at the PIAZZALE ROMA in Venice. I/we booked a standard twin room-absolutely unbeatable value-booked through MASTERCARD at a good rate. Front desk staff could not do enough for us, interested in all our questions. Breakfast was faultless-great selection!! Buy your VENICE TRAVEL PASS at the front desk of the hotel during your stay. Same price as we paid on-line before leaving for our trip. Faultless hotel!!!

Mestre is a run down town which is unpleasant to say the least but has the amazing advantage of being a train stop away from Venice. The hotel is good by Mestre standards. Our room was large and modern with basic Best Western furniture. Bathroom was decent with nice shower cabinet. Hotel wing where we stayed looks like it was recently refurbished, nice. Hotel staff in general are cold and unpleasant even if they try to be. Breakfast is below average. Parking is good but not free. Hotel is across street from train and bus stations to go to Venice.

The hotel is located across the street from Mestre railstation. The room is spacious and the bathroom is absolutely clean. It has the Best Western quality standards witch for me means good quality hotels with a fair price. The staff is absolutely amazing. I called to ask if they can change my room because our bed was a bit noisy. In minutes they came to my room with keys for another room, asked me to check if the new room was ok for me and changed ir immediately. I was never disappointed with a Best Western hotel! Great job guys!

Small, modern, comfortable hotel in Maestra (7 minute train ride from Venice). Difficult to give a good answer as to location because it was extremely close to the train station (across the street); but the hotel is NOT in the best area. My husband and I walked for 15 min in every direction and didn't see much of anything. So, easy and fast location to the train station but pricey for a hotel outside Venice. I used a free night stay and had a $100 voucher from other BW stays and still paid $200. Bathroom is large and shower is simply glorious. Bed is comfortable and room is very clean and large. My husband and I had plenty of room to stretch out and open our suitcases and keep them open on the floor without climbing over them or tripping on them. It also has a long desk to do work. There is a small convenience store in the train station area which serves a terrific cappuchino and there is also a McDonald's in the same area.

Conveniently located across from Mestre train station for access to Venice. You can take the train to Venice Santa Lucia station or the #2 bus to Piazzale Roma. Convenient parking around the corner (with more direct route through courtyard when walking) for 10 euros. Great breakfast and front desk staff. Would definitely stay here again when not wanting to pay higher prices of Venice!

This hotel is so well placed for the station, airport bus and bus to Venice and I always stay here because of this. The rooms are well decorated and the bathrooms a good size. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The selection of items for breakfast is excellent. The bar snacks are varied, of good quality and reasonably priced.

We just stayed one night because of an early flight, but this hotel was a great respite from the crowds in Venice. The room and the staff were amazing! And just a short train ride into Venice. A great value!

My friend recommended me to this hotel because it is close to the train station and I was glad that I did booked it because the room was great, firm mattress (that's very important), firm pillows, and very spacious. It is literately just across from the train station where you can take a train to Santa Lucia in 10-15mins. The hotel restaurant was not bad and I was so surprised because the one in the previous hotel we stayed at was horrible. The breakfast was ok just like another hotel that offers continental breakfast nothing special.

I hesitated quite a bit before booking this hotel because I feared the location would make things complicated, but now, I think it was the best choice. First of all, we arrived from the airport. We took the Flybus (you can buy tickets in the baggage claim area from the Atvo machine). It dropped us about two blocks from the hotel. Also, the hotel is right in front of the Mestre train station. You can easily go in Venice by train (about 10 minutes, 1.5 Euro/tickets, you can buy tickets at the station) and if you plan to leave the city by train, it's very convenient. The room itself was clean, everything looked new and it was calm even if we were on the side of the street (3rd floor). The breakfast was good, it was exactly what we expected (fruits, bread, cereals, hard boiled eggs, cheese, coffee, juice… you can find pictures here on trip advisor).

Undoubtedly this hotel is well located - being located at the shortest walk from the railway station and also near the stopping place for the airport bus. If I had known about the Venezia Mestre junction that is only a short train ride away from uncomfortably, relentlessly crowded Venice I would never had stayed in that city last year. As it is we wanted an easy access place to the airport after being elsewhere in Italy this year hence me going with my travelling companion to this place. It is an old hotel which would have had some style and character once but has been 'gutted' as they say these days and stripped of all charm. However I cannot complain about the size of the room (called a Junior suite) nor the firm mattresses on the twin beds. There was a safe as requested and a good bathroom but it would have been nice to have had a picture on the wall instead of beige blandness with fake wooden floors. The staff seemed to have been selected to match the décor as amongst those on reception or in the breakfast room I never detected anything that could be called a personality or hints of charm; employees unsmilingly did their jobs, nothing more. Incidentally I have stayed in a Best Western Hotels on several other occasions around the world ; of the one in Rome some years ago I can still remember the names of staff members with their endearing manners and courtesy. Suggest some customer relations training for the people in this hotel as one gets the suspicion that it is an unhappy place. People who complain about food when too many in the world starve are self-centred and quite reprehensible in my opinion but the 'American' breakfast was below standard for anyone who has any idea or nutrition. Besides some chopped-up fruit and cold coffee, there was no provision for vegetarians besides cheese and (battery?) eggs. So desperate was I for tomatoes or mushrooms or something that I bought a banana to have on toasted bread. Quite honestly, this hotel needs to come into the 21st Century as there was a remarkable degree of high-sugared food being provided. If the high sugar content of the commercial cereal being offered was not enough there was additives such as syrup, chocolates and multi-coloured 'smarties'. There was also an array of sweet cakes and pies. All people, including Americans with any intelligence, are turning away from such virtual poison as it is now understood that sugar and its many forms gives no nutrition but causes many other obesity-linked medical conditions. Wholesome choices were indeed very limited. If I needed to go to Venice again I would stay at this outer-Venice area but not at this hotel.

I have stayed here 4 times and every time I am thankful that I can just arrive on the train, cross the street and find the hotel. Not having to carry luggage all around Venice proper is a special reason to stay here. The hotel is very nice with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is outstanding. We ate dinner at the restaurant one evening and had one of the best meals we had during our entire 16 days in Italy. Service was excellent and the ambience was very pleasant.

This was my fourth stay at this hotel. I love the location across from the train station. It is easy to hop a train into Venezia Santa Lucia at the low price of 1.25 euros. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. I especially loved the dinner at the restaurant. Service is professional but friendly and the staff respond to problem situations.

Watching confused tourists dragging their luggage through crowded lanes in Venice made us happy to have instead stayed at the Best Western Bologna in Mestre. Located across the street from the train station and about 10 min. ride from Venice. The spacious room was very clean, with an excellent foam bed and the air conditioning was up to American standards. The complimentary breakfast was very good, with a self serve buffet of traditional offerings. Excellent coffee. The front desk was helpful and friendly. The only negative is sound carries in this building.

Great location... 5 minute walk to the train station and then get the train right to the Grand Canal in Venice! Hotel prices in Venice is high so staying just outside is the choice and this hotel is a perfect choice. It's nice to have parking onsite and just around back from the hotel... very convenient. I would recommend this place if for nothing else but for the location and convenience to get into Venice.

I stayed at the Best Western Bologna from 8/28-9/7 after my husband had an unexpected hospital stay. The hotel was conveniently located near the train and bus stops allowing me to get to where I needed to go easily. The room (suite) was very nice and allowed me the space needed for an extended stay. The front desk was warm and friendly always inquiring about my husband's health. The business center was useful in printing documents needed. Once my husband returned to the hotel to continue his recovery, we were happy that there was a restaurant in the hotel for dinner allowing my husband to enjoy some great Italian food! Overall, our experience at the Best Western Bologna was excellent even during a difficult time. Diane and Jeff Smith

Perfect location for regional daytrips. Yup a great hotel with decent rooms, a great helpful staff, great breakfast to start the day and a superb location that allows regional day trips. Venice is just a 11-minute train ride away from across the street with trains leaving for Venice every 5 minutes all day and evening. So allows very easy access to Venice. In addition, cities such as Padua, Verona, Trieste and Bologna are just a short train ride away. With a fast train, one is just over an hour away from Bologna. All this makes it a great place to stay to visit Venice and beyond. Even though one is not in Venice, one can still visit Venice even late into the evening if one wishes. And Venice really shine in the evening when all the day trippers are gone. Since so many trans leave and originate from Venice St. Lucia station, it means one has no worries of being too late into Venice and miss a train back to the Hotel in Mestre. And all that at a quite and restfull sleep.

This Hotel was located in a perfect spot for those who don't want to stay inside Venice. It is right across the Mestre Train Station. Only a 10 minute train ride into Venice Santa Lucia Station. The Hotel was really clean, nice bathroom. The rooms were very spacious. The breakfast was really good.

The Hotel Bologna is one of the most comfortable and convenient hotels we have stayed at, with excellent customer service. The rooms are clean, generously sized and modern, and the air conditioning will make any US traveler happy. The buffet breakfast is fantastic - eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, toast, cereal, pastries, yogurt, etc. The staff is very pleasant and hard-working, and if you need anything, Mirko at the front desk will arrange it for you. The hotel is 20 minutes from the airport and right across the street from the train station. The restaurant at the hotel, DaTura, was the best restaurant we ate at in Venice. The service from our waiter, Daniel, was first-class, which included food and wine recommendations. We will be back to this gem.

Conveniently located a short walk from the bus station and right across from the train station. If you want to visit Venice stay on the mainland and take the train to the island. Dragging luggage around in Venice is a big issue and finding your way around narrow streets is a challenge. This Best Western was perfect for our stay. Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was very good with a variety of food, from pastries, cereal, fruit, cold cuts, cheese, toast, and eggs.

This hotel was probably my favorite in my 12 day trip to Italy and don't let the "Best Western" name scare you off. First, the hotel is gorgeous and modern and the rooms are HUGE. The bathroom was the size of most European hotel rooms and had a huge soaking tub and separate shower. The rooms themselves are modern with clean lines and wood floors. Free wifi worked throughout the hotel and the breakfast was incredible. Anything you can imagine was offered as part of the room stay. The hotel itself is located right across the street from the main train station (Venezia Mestre) to the city center. For 1.5 Euros, you can take the 10 minute train ride to Venice and be in a gondola a few minutes later. This hotel was a nice escape from the craziness that can be Venice and the prices can't be beat. Upon departure, we left so early (3:30 a.m.) that they packed us a breakfast to go so we wouldn't be hungry for our flight. What hotel does that?! Amazing!! I will absolutely, positively stay here again when I come back to Venice.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location perfect. Train station is across the road for a 9 min ride to Venice. The rooms are excellent clean and modern. The hotel restaurant is very stylish with very nice food with a ten percent deduction for people staying in the hotel. Finally the staff are great. All very friendly and helpfull. Although the hotel is not on the island, but it's so close to the train station and best price. Rooms are large, bath rooms are huge. Decoration is contemporary. The staff are very warm hearted. When I tried to buy the ferry pass, she helped to figure out the best way for us to save money and best utilize the pass. They prepared take-out breakfast for us on the morning of our leaving to airport at 5am.

We stayed here only one night prior to departing on a cruise out of Venice. This hotel is in a super convenient location - directly across the street from the Mestre train station. The rates are reasonable compared to Venice, so it's not a bad choice of locations for visiting Venice. The trains go back and forth frequently and take only about ten minutes from the Mestre Station to the Venice Santa Lucia station right on the Grand Canal. The hotel itself is excellent. Very new-looking, modern and clean. The staff is attentive and helpful. Rooms are clean and well-furnished and quiet. The hotel has a small restaurant with good food, so no need to search the neighborhood.

The last time we drove to Venice, we had to park in a huge lot and carry our luggage and baby stroller through the streets of Venice. Fast forward 10 years... I looked for a hotel with parking and happened upon the Hotel Bologna. This is the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed in. The rooms were modern, spacious, and clean. There is a parking lot for 10 euro for 24 hours. We arrived 9 pm and wanted to go to Venice for dinner. The staff recommended an excellent waterside restaurant away from the throngs of tourists. The proximity to the train is ridiculous but we didn't want to wait for a half hour, so we took the bus. The train is nicer but both take you to the center of the action. The breakfast buffet was very good and was a great value at 4 euro!

Rm 153 was huge, bathroom measured 10x10foot...spotless, air conditoning, black out curtains. quiet, wood floors, helpful reception staff, computer and printer in the lobby, nice restaurant on premises, cheap pasta plate for 6,50 E Have stayed here many times, it is remodeled and looks great for a building of 1911 era....

This hotel is right near the station to go to Venice, the trains are convenient and cheap, less than €2, and you can buy tickets from the hotel. The hotel has very nice rooms and make sure you are in the new block, as the rooms are quieter and new. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, with all you would need. The staff are very helpful, however the one problem we had was that we wanted to catch the express bus to Marco Polo airport, the cost is €8 each. We were told by one person at the desk that the bus stopped right across the road outside of the station, after 25 minutes of waiting I went back to the hotel to confirm the instructions, however the bus goes from the bus station which is further down the road away from the station and the hotel. A minor inconvenience but it was a little annoying.

We chose to stay at this hotel for its close proximity to venice, and the excellent quality of hotel at a very reasonable price even during tourist season. Its around 15 min by taxi from Marco Polo airport and it is located right across from Mestre train station which is one stop away from Venice's Santa Lucia train station for €1.25 one way. So there's no need to stay in venice hotel and drag our many luggages across multiple bridges. The 2 Look Room we booked is exactly as seen in the hotel photos. It's large, quiet, very clean, bed is very comfortable. Washroom is big, clean, and has a marbled shower stall with overhead rain shower. Returning to our comfortable rooms after a long tired day of exploring Venice and its outskirts was sheer bliss. Hotel reception staffs were helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Breakfast buffet was plentiful, coffee was rich. There are few restaurants and a small grocery store in the immediate area where we got our beer, bottled water and snacks. We are so glad we stayed here and for sure we will return to this hotel on our future visits to venice.

We booked a double room as we were travelling 2 adults and 1 child. This hotel could not be better placed for travelling in to Venice as it is opposite Mestre train station which has trains running every 8 minutes across to Venice for just €1.25 each way. The hotel itself is modern, clean and well maintained, also selling train tickets to avoid the queues at the ticket machines (remember to validate your tickets to avoid a fine!). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was included and has a good selection of food. There is parking on-site but there are limited spaces for €10 per 24hrs. Great value and well placed just a few minutes from the motorway.

This hotel was way cheaper than most in venice and was way more modern and nicer than the ones we considered in venice. It is right beside the train station and not far from a the interspar supermarket, we experienced excellent customer service and the breakfast was included for free and had loads of options, great stay would recommend over anywhere i looked at in venice.

We spent an extended weekend in Venice in this hotel. I must say the service was perfect, the attitude of receptionist was something hard to believe. We really felt like we were welcome in any time and could ask for anything. The hotel is situated just in front of the main train station which is great for commuting to Venice city centre. Rooms were clean and tidy. The breakfast was bold and was included everything we required. I do recommend this place as it has a great position, great staff and food.

I stayed here for three nights during my official visit to Venice. As I came from Milan to mestre by direct train, this hotel was best for me, just outside the mestre train station. From outside, hotel looked like a budget property and I was apprehensive a bit, but as I entered the hotel, I found it to be a class heritage hotel. Room was very clean, well appointed, bed was comfortable, washroom was very spacious and everything was fine. Amenities like safe, electric kettle, TV, fridge etc worked fine. View from room was nothing but in mestre I doubt you can get any view at all. So it was not somethi.g negative about the hotel in particular. There is a small supermarket near to hotel from where all necessary items like water bottles, bread, wine can be purchased at very cheaper price. Don't try the supermarket inside the train station it's very expensive. Largest supermarket is about 500 m away from the hotel. Many eating joints especially pizza restaurants are in close vicinity of the hotel, very reasonably priced and good food quality and taste. The buffet breakfast at hotel restaurant was good, though I found the options on lower side. The staff at reception was very helpful and extended help for information on sightseeing and travel in Venice. Jessica especially was very charming and helpful in sorting our billing related problem. For going to Venice, there is bus service from the stop just outside the hotel, in front of train station, fare is 1.2 euro one way. The best thing about the hotel was its proximity to mestre station, after a day full of tour at venice, it was very relaxing to jump out of the bus at head straightaway to hotel entrance. Yes, beware of the door at entrance, it comes attacking at you.

I stayed with my son, front desk was very friendly. They spoke many languages and were very helpful. Rooms were big, clean, and beds were comfortable. I was impressed by how big the bathroom was. Breakfast was ok. Nothing fancy for 4 Euros is satisfying. I would definitely stay again when I come back.

The hotel is right opposite MESTRE railway station and the airport bus transfer stop. Hence, very convenient to visit Venice. It only takes 10 minutes by train and there are regional trains every 15 minutes until 11 PM. Hence, I do not regret not booking in Venice itself. Venice is not user friendly if you have a lot of luggage and public water transport is very expensive and crowded. Please ignore the negative reviews of Mestre. You can buy return tickets for Euro 2.50 from reception. This will save queuing at the ticket machines. The station is really busy. The family room was great with 2 separate rooms and TVs. The staff were friendly. I would definitely use this hotel again if I ever return to Venice.

If you cannot stay at the old city, I would highly recommend it! It's close to the station, clean and modern. Rooms are good and big, while people are really gentle. I would say that it's a value for money option.

We booked 2 rooms for three nights as we toured Venice. Great location with train Station and Bus Stop that provided easy and regular access to Venice. The rooms were clean and modest and the bathrooms were a great size and well equipped. We found the mattresses a little thin compared to other accommodations but we slept okay so not a major detraction. The front desk staff were excellent - helpful, ready to assist, and very informative and frankly really should be commended for the service they provide. The breakfasts were excellent and empty dishes were replenished quickly. The restaurant also served good food and the service from the bar was prompt so it has all the markings for a great hotel. We would love to recommend this hotel BUT we did encounter a problem with smoking throughout the stay. In one of our rooms, it reaked of smoke that appeared to come through the vents and although reported, nothing changed. It is a non smoking hotel and a room change was offered but considering we (all) could smell the smoke up and down the hallway, we did not think it would make a difference. We do suggest that a more agressive approach be taken in the future to stop the smoking but if not, please do not call it a smoke free hotel.

This is a good hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the room was clean, modern and comfortable. I loved the bistro which served reasonably priced Italian food, e.g. delicious lasagna Whilst the hotel is a short bus ride from central Venice, the bust stop is just outside the hotel or you can get the train at the station which is nearby.

The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting Venice .Train station opposite & 5 minutes into The Grand Canal. Reception staff are brilliant .Efficient check in .Rooms spacious & comfortable .A nice surprise from reception was a bottle of bubbly on ice ,& nibbles ,brought to our room on my husbands 70 th birthday .Thank you so much .Only down side was the breakfast. Can not please every ones tastes I suppose

Rooms are good clean bright breakfast is good. Towels are good. The staff is efficient and painless check in. Since the hotel is located near a train station it's very convenient. To go to Venice buy a 1-2 day ticket you can use the bus and boat transportation without limit.

My wife and I flew non-stop from New York JFK to Venice Marco Polo Airport to board a 12-day Mediterranean Cruise. We knew we'd be jet-lagged from the long flight, and just wanted a nice clean room to recuperate for a day before boarding the ship. After some research we decided not to stay in Venice proper, the rooms are outrageously expensive and since no autos are allowed on Venice Island, it's very hard to transport your luggage. The Venice Best Western Bologna Mestre Station Hotel turned out to be a perfect option for us. The Hotel is directly adjacent to the Mestre Train Station. After passing through immigration at Venice Marco Polo Airport, my wife waited for our luggage to arrive on the baggage carousel, and I went to buy shuttle tickets. ATVO runs an Express Shuttle Bus non-stop from the Airport to the Train Station for 8 Euros per person one-way. I bought two one way tickets from a kiosk in the baggage claim area. The ATM-like machine had an English menu and accepted my U.S. visa credit card without any issues. As soon as we walked out the front door of the airport the ATVO shuttle was waiting. The bus was a beautiful new full size forty passenger coach. It was impeccably clean with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, although it was painfully slow internet and the signal was intermittent. The train station was a quick twenty-minute drive. I was worried we wouldn't know exactly where the hotel was but you could easily see the Best Western sign as we neared the station. The shuttle drops you in a parking lot just before you arrive at the train station, and the hotel is a one block walk on the right side of the street. We arrived at 1:00pm and check-in wasn't until 3:00pm but they gave us our room immediately. All of the front desk staff spoke flawless English. The room was very nice and modern. The room itself and the bathroom were much larger than we expected. The free Wi-Fi was very good and we were able to FaceTime and Skype family without interruption. The TV had two English speaking stations, CNN and BBC. We neglected to change any money at the airport so we didn't have any Euros. We walked a few blocks into the center of Mestre but weren't able to find a bank or an ATM machine. There were many restaurants nearby but some looked scruffy and most seemed to cater to locals. Sadly, we ended up eating at McDonald's at the train station as they accepted credit cards and we didn't have any cash. The beds were good, a little firm, but we had a sound night's sleep. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and with the hotel and its staff who were very friendly and helpful. For anyone going on a cruise or sightseeing in Venice there are many options for getting to Venezia Plaza Roma. The cheapest and easiest option is the train for a couple of Euros. If you have a lot of luggage a taxi is your best choice. You can hail a taxi at the train station, if the hotel calls one for you there's an 8 Euro surcharge. A taxi will take you directly to the cruise passenger terminal for 35 Euros. Be aware that the taxis do not take credit cards, only cash. You can get to your cruise ship from Mestre Station much cheaper but it's a bit of an ordeal. You have to take the train to St. Lucia Station which is the end of the line. From there you walk out of the station and turn right. You have to walk over a large arched foot bridge with many shallow stairs to get to Venezia Plaza Roma, from here you can take the “People Mover” (Monorail) to the port for 1.5 Euros per person. The “People Mover” has elevators and escalators on both ends. From where the “People Mover” drops you to the terminal is about a half mile walk. It's definitely a feasible option if you're up for it. When we returned from the cruise, we took the “People Mover” to Venezia Plaza Roma where we caught an ATVO Express Shuttle bus non-stop to the airport, for the same 8 Euro per person one way. For those cruising out of Venice, the Venice Best Western Bologna Mestre Station Hotel is a great pre-cruise or post cruise option, it's also a great hotel for visiting Venice on a budget, as it's a short commute to and from Venice.

Stayed in a family room at the Best Western Hotel Bologna, Venezia. The arrangement - two rooms separated by pocket doors with a king bed on one side and 2 single beds on the other - was perfect for us (we have 2 teenagers). There was plenty of space, and the room and bathroom were immaculate. We didn't leave ourselves enough time to enjoy the breakfast buffet (included in our rate) on the first day. But we made sure to be there the 2nd day - lots to choose from including fresh fruit and baked goods. Very convenient to Venice on the train or bus (right across the street) with reasonably priced parking for our rental car.

We've stayed here before. They've updated since then. Across street from train station in Venice, about 10 minute trip for a couple of euros each way. Can buy tickets at hotel and charge to room- very convenient. Rooms are nice, had a king size bed, not very large but definitely adequate with a large bathroom with a tub and shower. Great breakfast buffet. Dinner was good, but I preferred the old bistro menu from a few years ago. The staff was very helpful.

The standard room is nice and spacious, hotel clean and nice staff. Right across from the train station with easy access to Venice. The beds are comfortable. However, the noise level, again with these issues, is just not right. They have no carpeting in the rooms, and while parkay type flooring is a much nicer look than carpeting, unforunately those who need to get up at 5 or 6am and start moving chairs, other furniture, suitcases and drop objects on the floor for 2 hours and 20 minutes while doing their packing is just unvelievable! 2 calls later to the front desk the noise still hadn't stopped. I was desperate as were the other two people in the room with me. This is a recurring theme in many hotels and I think soundproofing should be a major factor when giving a hotel a star rating. A 4 or a 5 star hotel should be QUIET!

We checked in very late to this hotel. It was about a 30 minute cab ride but when we got there ($35/2ppl), they spoke English very well and out room was accommodating for 2 people. Not to mention it's right in front of the Main Train Station which was very convenient to access other parts of Italy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Much cheaper to stay here than in Venice. It's cheaper to take the train to Venice the city for $2 and save the money on the hotel by staying in Mestre. GREAT HOTEL!!!

We stayed her the night before the cruise. Their shuttle bus was waiting as expected and we soon arrived at the hotel. A major thunderstorm was raging so there was no way we wanted to do anything other than relax after a days travelling. The check in staff were courteous and efficient. They offered to explain about getting into Venice. We were soon in our modern room. It was clean, bright and airy. Comfortable bed and blackout curtains. modern and efficient bathroom. We dined in their restaurant which we found to be delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast was included and had an excellent selection of well cooked, well presented choices. The next day they consolidated transport with other guest to our cruise ship, reducing the price. That transport took us to the door of the check in facility. If we were travelling back to Venice we would choose to stay here.

We arrived at the hotel before check in time and were given the suite room number. When we came back to check in a few hours later we were told that there was a problem with the sink in the room but that we had been given another room, an upgrade, as a gift from the hotel to us!! I was also asked if I drank Prosecco and a bottle was sent to the room. The room was at best a superior room but not a junior suite as I had booked. I called to reception and told them that I was not happy with this room and only then did they admit this was a superior room. They seemed to think it was fine that I was given this room with no mention of being moved the day after (we had booked for 3 nights). I told them that the reason I had booked a junior suite was because this was what I wanted. Had I wanted a superior room I would have booked this. I told them I expected that they move us to a junior suite the next day, which they did. The receptionist who sent up the bottle of prosecco came over and asked if I had received it, to which of course I replied yes. As there was a price difference in the room I paid for the prosecco myself. When your guests book a junior suite, either give them what they have paid for or be totally honest with them. what should have happened is that they said at the outset when we came back to check in that the suite wasnt available but that we would be moved the next day, this did not happen and I got the impression they thought they were doing me some big favour by giving us a superior room!!! On the good side, the rooms (both of them) were spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. The reception staff could, on the other hand, benefit from a course in good customer relations. We heard one of the receptionists shout at a guest telling him that the kettle was in the wardrobe. When my daughter (who has a BSc and is half way through a double Masters) asked for some directions, one of the receptionists spoke to her as if she was stupid. Georgie Hansen

Great hotel and restaurant. Location is great since it is across the street from the train station. Stayed here while visiting Venice and it worked out great. Train ride was only 10 minutes and you do not have to deal with the smell of the canals in Venice.

Close to the station and very well presented. Breakfast is very good. Wifi not so fast. Bathrooms and showers very good too. Would always recimmend staying here rather than Venice. The train station is right outside.

Don't let the name of this hotel confuse you. It is not in Bologna, but outside of Venice with easy access to the city of Venice and associated islands. Well located, across from the train station, the Best Western Bologna is a modern, clean hotel with good service and nice, clean, rooms. Breakfast is included and is a plentiful buffet of delicious items, even gluten free if you ask.

When researching hotels for my stay in Venice I came across the Best Western in Mestre. WOW! The location is great. Right across the street from the train station and a few minutes later you're in Venice. Trains run constantly to and from Venice. We picked up our train tickets right from the front desk. Breakfast was great and the rooms clean and spacious. The beds were the best of any hotel we slept in during our tour of Italy. Wifi was excellent. We didn't get to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel restaurant as we spent most of our time in Venice but the food options looked good. Staff were super nice and helpful. If you're a family on a tight budget, this is the place to stay . Would highly recommend to family and friends.

This is a great hotel that is steps away from the train station. They staff are very helpful and you can buy tickets for the 10 min train ride into Venice. The rooms are great and air conditioned. The restaurants in the hotel are outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Venice and want to avoid pulling your luggage over the bridges and onto the boats.

Stayed here for one night while visiting Venice. Chose this hotel due to its excellent location opposite train station , only 8 mins into Venice. All staff were excellent , rooms were spacious and modern and breakfast was great. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. Also ideal location for travelling to other locations in Italy by train as we did. Journey to Trieste less than 2 hours.

Last week we stayed at this hotel and were very happy with our stay. Very convenient location if arriving by the train station - it's right across the street! Very helpful and friendly front desk people. Convenient that you can purchase bus/train tickets to take you into the heart of Venice from the front desk. We rented a family room for 3 people and are room was HUGE, very comfortable beds, quiet to out side noise, a large and well stocked bathroom, good shower, a fridge with a mini bar, very good breakfast included in the room rate. There is nothing negative I could say about this hotel, highly recommend it.

The hotel is clean, the rooms are exceptionally big considering European standard and is located in front of the train station ( train: 10 mins to Venice). The service is good. The breakfast is very complete. But I just say convenient and don't give them the 5 stars because it does not have a gym or a pool, facilities that an active tourist appreciates after a hot summer day, neither room service nor money exchange.

Hotel is directly across the street from the Mestre train station where you can catch a train to Venice train station every 10 minutes. Hotel is clean, rooms are well equipped. Staff is very helpful with details on getting around in Venice and getting to Marco Polo airport. Breakfast is great with a lot of variety.

BW Bologna hotel is in a very convenient location just across to one of the main train station, with easy and quick reach to Venice tourists area and to Venice Marco Polo airport by bus. Trains are very frequent takes about 10 minutes and fare is inexpensive. Modern spacious and clean comfortable large room. The buffet breakfast has lots of selection - very good. The front desk staff are very welcoming, excellent, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again in the future.

Hotel itself nice.. Rooms nice and clean.. Asked after checking if we could have a room with bath as I am 6 months pregnant-reception staff more than happy to assist and moved us straight away. Reception staff always smiling and happy to help. Breakfast had lots of choice; very nice. Good location.

This is a great hotel location right across the street to one to the two main train stations in Venice. The location is great ! and the staff are amazing. The morning breakfast is more then enough to hold you for the day.

This is the 4th time I have stayed at the BW Bologna Hotel. We always liked it because of its quick access to the Mestre Train station, and bus service to Marco Polo Airport (Venezia). Check in was quick. Bar was excellent for a pleasant drink while waiting for train connections. Even 2 hours wait allowed air conditioned comfort. The room was very modern and well laid out. All in all a great experience prior to an 18 hour flight time to Canada. It made the long journey easier to take.

This hotel was perfect choice for our stay in Venice. Just across of Mestre Railway Station . You dont have to carry your luggage through all Venice , bridges and streets of Venice-just drop in hotel and in 20 minutes you could take a train to Venice. Trains to Venice goes every 10 minutes and it takes around 10 minutes to travel to Venice. I love this hotel-it is perfect location and service, very friendly staff. Quite often in Italy is not Canadian/American standard of service-they trying to pretend but kind of don't have time on you. It was opposite in this hotel-very good service and my compliments for all staff of hotel. Very clean and big room and washrooms, strong and stable WIFI connection, advises from Receptionists the best way to commute. Few more words-Buffet was perfect! Well, I highly recommend this hotel to all travelers to Venice.

Our stay here started with my error in booking our train ticket to Mestre one station short of Venice proper. Fortunately, the hotel is directly across the street from the train station. At check in they were extremely helpful and we were able to purchase our combo bus/vapporetto ticket there. Our room was very modern, the bed was very comfortable and the wifi was great. When we finally reached Venice and watched people struggle with their luggage we realized that it was a great error. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices and the coffee was made for us personally. The bus/vapporetto ticket is a great investment and the bus was easy to catch across the street from the hotel. There are many moderately priced restaurants in the area..another bonus.

Just checked into Best Western Bologna (Mestre) with two rooms for family vacation. One room is filled with cigaret smoking smell left by previous guest even though all rooms in this hotel is supposed to be "NON-SMOKING". Management was nice and offered free drink in the bar for all six guests. So now all six of us are crammed into our second room waiting for the first room to be "cleaned" for the smoking smell. The second room is clean but we found so many live little bugs on the floor and in bed. Kept killing them but they Kept coming from no where. (See attached pictures!) Can hardly wait to check out in the morning and move on to our next destination!
