Do not recommend this hotel if you're travelling to Amsterdam as tourists as it's not near the airport as you may expect by the name and to get to the city we had to take a bus to the airport then a train. On arrival there was no welcome, had to find someone to check us in. My partner had paid for the trip as a surprise for my birthday but on arrival we were told that we hadn't paid. My partner then paid like she asked despite being confused as he was sure he had paid. When we had proof through the bank that he had already paid it took a while for the hotel to realise that their system was wrong! They did refund but was told it would take a few days to process and there was very little apology for the stress they had caused.
Stayed here for two nigts for buisness just before Christmas. Usually stay nearer town center but decided to try it. Room clean with comfy bed. Remote control fireplace was an unusual feature but I needed it it late on as it for a bit cold. Windows only single glazed so quite noisy with the wind blowing. Breakfast good and bar available if you want a night cap.
It is not close to the airport. It was 15 km away and cost $50 euros using the meter. To get to the train stations is 33 km. The hotel price was excellent at 65 euros but the cost of getting too and from the airport and downtown was out of sight. We had prepaid. We only stayed one night then moved to the Hampton Hotel where we did not have to pay a lot of money to travel. Yes, we lost $130 euros but more than made up for it through convenience, time and travel cost. The hotel was a good quality place. It was large, clean, and quiet. The service was excellent. The free breakfast was good. There is a shortage of restaurants that are close by. Other than the high cost of transportation, we would stay there again.
It is called an "airport hotel"; it even claims to offer an "airport shuttle". What I didn't learn - until it was too late - that it is not close to the airport, and that "shuttle" - always free at real "airport" hotels - costs 25 euros each way! That means it will cost you as much to go back-and-forth from the airport as the cost of your room. The hotel itself is really like a mid-50's motel from the USA; two floors, with no operating elevator, and no one to help you lug your bags upstairs. Decor is equally old, and probably hasn't changed in the intervening decades. Bathrooms are tiny. "Toiletries" consist of squeeze dispensers on the wall. The "bedside table" in my room was actually just a single glass shelf, tilting precariously downward, threatening to send anything placed on it tumbling to the floor. Noise from the hallway - and from the room next door - meant sleeping was difficult. Internet service was erratic. As a Best Western Rewards member, I expect certain things of a Best Western property. This hotel doesn't deliver. BW would be well-advised to remove their name from this location - and, while they are taking down the sign, take down the part that says "airport", too. Both denote qualities that are sorely missing from this "hotel".
Staff were so friendly would definitely stay again. Our main aim of the trip was dam square and surrounding areas so was a bit far out for us. 24 Euro a day in a bus. No fault of the hotel of course, coffee and tea for free on tap. We didn't do bed and breakfast so don't know what the food is like.
Very good hotel, kind and careful personnel, clean room, big and comfortable beds, warm blankets. Room was equipped with everything needed: lots of towels, soap, shampoo, kettle, cups, tea, coffee, sugar. Not far from the bus stop. We liked it very much, will return next time. If you go there, check in before 11 p.m.
I spend 3 nights at this hotel. The first 2 nights were terrible, a small room downstairs with a terrible tabacco smell. Especially in the bathroom people had been smoking. The shower was broken and you had to hold the shower in your hand. Unfortunately the desk manager did not take it to seriously and besides that, the hotel was fully booked? After another complaint i was given another room for the last night, which was acceptable. The breakfast was ok. Being a holder of a Best Western membership card, i must state this hotel should not use ‘ Best Western' in its name......
I gave this as low a rating as I could and I suppose the gentleman at the desk in the evening would support this, but this location is an embarrassment to the BW name. The young lady at the desk on check in was very unwelcoming and we needed to pry information from her as none was forthcoming. We were placed on the upper floor and when we asked about a lift she smiled and said there is none. I packed the bags up the stairs and as we started down the hall we noticed that the lift was there...it just was not functioning. the door was partially open and it was full of ??stuff?? The corridor walls are decorated with cheap photographs of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elvis Presley from the 1950's, possibly originals from when the hotel opened! Got to our room and voila! old unventilated room stink! Sorry that is the only word for it...stink. We rolled our eyes and kept our mouths shut as we needed to be at Schiphol in the morning and had no alternative. I went out to walk around the grounds and what a mess! Overgrown shrubs, weeds garbage everywhere! Thought I better get back inside before i get attacked by someone I disturb! After a completely uncomfortable night in a bed that absolutely sucked, we went down for the included breakfast...good grief! I tried to make toast and the lady running the breakfast came along and said the toaster is "kaput". Get the thing fixed if it is broken! That gives an indication as to how the rest of the "breakfast" went. As I said the evening staff gentleman was very polite and helpful directing us to restaurants for supper. Too bad they were all closed! Best Western, you need to send someone to view this property and have your name removed from it...or sink several hundred euros into renovations. While your at it have "airport" removed from the description....It is miles away and nowhere near the airport. I would include photos, but I see they are already posted. I do not recommend this location in any way.
We were minding our own business waiting in the lobby awaiting for our rooms to be checked in. Whilst an old man working for the hotel kept walking past us shaking his head at us in a very disapproving. This was extremely rude, unacceptable and so unprofessional. We felt so unwelcome. Disgusting customer service
Unfortunately hotels in direct surrounding of Schipohl airport were fully booked. This allowed the experience of this hotel. It is not an Airport Hotel! the price was relatively high compared to quality - paid 110€ - it was worth less than 40€. this hotel may have seen better days some years ago. Seems the owner has not invested for some time. Better stay somewhere.
lovely staff, lovely place, very peaceful area, room was beautiful, was in the corner of hotel, all glass windows with a beautiful view, super spacious room and bathroom, not cheap though but I totally recommend
We stayed 2 nights for a wedding, Saturday and Sunday. The rooms were very spacious and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy but acceptable. We would have loved to eat when we arrived in the evening on Saturday but the restaurant wasn't open at weekends. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing fancy about the hotel, and the word 'airport' in its name is a fiction. It's a good 15 minutes drive, and a very expensive taxi ride (from our experience €40!). However, it's a perfectly good mid-cost hotel for those who wish to discover the many joys of Uithoorn.
The hotel itself is great! Its clean, modern and the rooms are quite big aswel. The staff are extremely friendly and will do anything to help and make you feel comfortable. This hotel also has a gym and swimming pool for people with an exercise reigem. The rooms themselves are large with a big bathroom with shower over bath and hairdryer included. The only thing i would say is the hotel is a little bit far out of the city as it is situated next to schipol airport but for people that dont drive, there is a free shuttle bus to the airport that runs very regular where you can catch a train for €5 to amsterdam central station so its alot better than €60 for the taxi. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to amsterdam. :-)
We stayed in various Best Westerns all over Amsterdam. This one was disappointing. We had to change rooms due to the wifi not working and a random door being in our room. We changed rooms, there was in the bathtub and sink before even being touched. Then we ordered a shuttle bus to take us to the airport when checking out, the front desk man decided to last minute tell us that we had to pay 25 euros for the shuttle. All of the other best westerns had free shuttle. And we were informed that it was because that has to order and car and hire a driver, only to find out that we were taking the van that was there all night, and the night clerk was the one who drove us. After paying, we got into the van, and two extra men hopped into the van who clearly had not payed, and were dropped of somewhere random after us, not the airport. Disappointed. The man at the desk was rude, and looked at us stupidly after we politely asked why we had to pay. Will not be going to stay here again On my next upcoming journey to Amsterdam.
Over all the hotel was good the staff was helpful when we checked in. Although the shuttle service we had to pay for. The reception was very rude (Monday nov 14) I asked why we would need to pay for it he gave me a stupid blank stare and said we have to pay the driver and arrange it, but the driver was clearly working the desk as well and the van was outside all night. And then we got in the van and 2 other men got in and didn't pay! I feel very ripped off because we stayed in best westerns all over Europe this trip and this was by far the worst customer service.
Very clean, and big rooms! Personell was very friendly! Breakfast good enough! The location also comfortable! The price about 100 Euro for double room was a bit too much! 12 Euro per night for my litle dog was also too much!
Good location!!! Good price!!! Only 20 minutes to Schiphol airport!!! It is a comfortable, clean and nice small room. Breakfast was simple but delicious. It a pet's friendly hotel. My dog found the room comfortable... :) I will stay again in this hotel...
We booked at reasonable price for a weekend trip to Amsterdam suburb, The hotel could use some renovation (rooms overall "used" look) The breakfast was complete and ok; If you need to stay at that area, it is ok for 1-2 nights. For vacation, I would choose another one.
I was well received by staff. The room was nice and big and the internet on the room was very good (very important for a business trip) The only remark is about the bathroom...the bathroom is al little bit outdated....
Awesome! Exceeded my expectations & great value for money. Having come over from London we expected a small room but weRe pleasantly surprised by the spacious room. The breakfasts were tasty and location great - well within reach of the nearby restaurants in the neighbourhood as well as shopping centers and shops. The nearby bus station made my daily commuting to class very convenient. I would definately use it again for future travels to Mijdrecht and recommend it to the training center I attended. The reception staff were very helpful, well informed and nothing was too much trouble.
What an bad place. Smelling, damaged furniture. When we came back in the roon there was a water leakkage from the ceiling, I went to the reception, no sorry no nothing.: You are lucky we have one room left......I said but the water leaks in a lamp and overflowing, so a shotcut will be in minutes.....Oh...i will have look later.., no excuses nothing....We moved to the other room, this even worse......missing furniture. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.!
Cheap for sleeping including a free breakfast the day/night before departing from Schiphol-airport to Japan. Clean room, good beds and nice tasteful breakfast. Schiphol just a 10 minutes drive away from the hotel.
+ Staff was very competent and friendly but the + breakfast quality and choice in accordance - maintenance and equipement is not at all up to the mark. - Junk in the corridor, - the veranda was full of leaves and dort - not in a usable condition - window is fixed (not to be opened), for ventilation you need to open the French winodos, which is of course not reccomendable during the night in the ground flor. - Wifi in our room (last one) very week. Smartphone was not even caching the signal. - width of the bed was approx. 140 cm (after two days still having backpain...
This hotel is like staying at your grandma's. It is nowhere near Amsterdam. However it is near a bus station. Food is mediocre. Staff are rather rude and don't really have time and patience for customers. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. I did expect better from a 'best western'. Don't let the popularity make your choice.
They advertise at the Schipol website but do not offer a free shuttle, as it is quite far from the airport, to be named "airport hotel". It costs 25 euro each trip (it's less than what the taxis outside charge you) if you ask for it after 6 a.m., the official airport shuttle does not cover it, as it is not in Amsterdam, but in Uithoorn. Using public transport it takes about an hour to get in from Schipol, it does not offer shuttle from Schipol to the hotel. The rooms are fine, tough it is a maze to get to them, The wifi is not perfect, and it is located on a residential area. A bus station is very near.
The daily breakfasts were fantastic, with all the courses you could want! The room was clean and comfortable. The bathtub was too narrow for obese people; I almost got stuck. The terminus of the city busses to Amsterdam are 300m from the hotel. The staff all spoke excellent English except one. Quiet family area.
We wanted a holiday away for a few days with friends. Site seeing and having fun. Although this hotel was a little out of the way, we got the bus everyday, it was cheap and went central all day. Our holiday for 4 days was £213 flights and hotel. U can't go wrong. The hotel was lovely, the bar staff were lovely. It's not amazing but it was what we wanted and cheap and I got to go to Amsterdam!
We stayed for 1 day. Room seemed to me not cozy! Although it was necessary to him. But that very pleased because it is a beautiful swimming pool and sauna! In the morning, breakfast is just good shocked! Breakfast is plentiful, delicious, gourmet, it was even champagne! It's nice that there is a shuttle to the airport, free and clear on the schedule!
We stayed here Easter weekend and had a fantastic time. This was our first visit to Amsterdam, unfortunately one of our party left their wallet on the plane & Douwe the man on reception was fantastic at helping us try and speak to the airport. We were very hungry he also ordered us pizza, pasta etc from a nearby shop. Breakfast here is ok Erica the cook was amazingly helpful so a big thank you to her. From bus tickets to any information we needed Dauwe helped. The hotel is very clean about an hour away from Amsterdam central but very easy for buses etc. We had a great last night there with a few Dutch people, made us very welcome. All in all a lovely break & would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for all your help Dauwe.
We stayed here for a night recently when our flight back to Bristol was canceled' we arrived quite late and tired after spending hours at Schipol Airport. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean. We had a breakfast in the morning before we left to try and get back home. OVerall we weren't planning on staying here but were forced to and i dont have any complaints about this hotel, as for Easyjet!! Well they will be getting a very angry email from me soon.
Hotel is typical business/airport hotel, clean and comfortable, good wifi connectivity which is free. Staff are attentive and professional and do go out of their way to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. Dinner menu is somewhat limited for a long stay (I stayed for 4 nights) and could do with some expansion.
Very dirty place... Wifi covers only half of the hotel... Very "nice" surprise on the plate for breakfast... I will never advise anyone to visit this place... The owner is very polite, but other staff is rude and impolite... I will never forget this trip...
- helpful and coorperative stuff - uncomplicated check-in - big and clean room - big Windows, very nice view - full breakfast. Very tasty and fresh - a lot of parking possibilities We would book agia, when we travel to Amsterdam.
Nice room, nice breakfast: bacon, eggs, croissants.... The distance to Amsterdam and the airport is ok... The room was very clean. The bathroom was extremely clean too. We arrived very late (23.45) and that was no problem at all!
The hotel is uniquely located in a quiet residential area. The advantage to this Hotel walking distance to Uithoorn Bus Station. There is An Aldy supermarket less than 5 minutes walk. Good value for Amsterdam
Me and my partner stayed here in October as a long weekend away. On arrival we were checked in very quickly. The hotel is average, needs a bit of a refurb but it is clean. Comfy bed and warm water. We only ate in the hotel once and that was breakfast. A very basic breakfast, a little over priced if you ask me. We didn't see many members of staff, but the staff we did see were pleasant. The times for dinner and breakfast were not made very clear, different times on different days meant we missed out on dinner and breakfast on two occasions. There is a bus that runs ever 10-15 minutes that takes you to central Amsterdam. The journey is roughly an hour, can drag a little but that didn't bother us. The bus stop is very close to the hotel. The hotel isn't far from the airport at all, the hotel also has a shuttle bus/car to and from the airport. Not a bad hotel but in the future I would probably choose accommodation closer to the centre of Amsterdam. Thank you for the stay
We stayed this hotel for 3 days and plus 2 days additional because of the unexpected reason. We could enjoy our stay, especially first three days because our room was upgraded. Staffs are all very friendly and kind. There is no restaurant around but do not worry you can enjoy high quality dinner with reasonable price. Inside decoration is very tasty with full photos. We liked this hotel so we already made the next booking.
We called the hotel to request an airport shuttle and were advised that it was necessary to schedule the shuttle a day in advance. And then pay a shuttle fee of 25 Euros. The hotel provided no assistance on getting to the hotel, but the airport information office recommended taking the combination of a train and bus rde, along with a three blocks walk, to get there. An hour later, tired and mad, we arrived at the hotel. Any hotel that advertises itself as an airport hotel should provide shuttle service, preferably free. And, if it has to be scheduled in advance, should make that clear on the confirmation of the reservation. We hope the hotel, and Best Western, which we have used frequently, will change it's policy in the future.
This is a typical, small hotel that have a good quality and can be taken for those who just need to room to rest. Rooms are small but big enough, they have everything they need - clean bathroom, nice smell and comfy bed to sleep in. They are a little dark and old fashion but as I mentioned - you wont go there for a honeymoon but when you need a good place to stay on business trip or visit f.ex. Amsterdam it is your perfect choice. Stuff is well trained and there is a parking space in front of the hotel. For the breakfast you don't have many choices but it is enough (juice, eggs, beacon, cornflakes, cheese ect.) and everything is testy, fresh.
We booked a park sleep fly including a dinner. The kitchen was closed so we had to look elsewhere for a meal. At least we did not have to pay for the booked dinner. The driver was half an hour late for our pickup to Schiphol. Hotel itself is decrepit and I would not stay there more than one night.
The personnel is very cheerful and ready to help. The location is not very convenient, as it a bit far from Amsterdam and Airport as well. The room had adequate size, but a bit outdated. However everything was clean and accurate. It was cold in my room, but after the question they did it warm quickly, which is appreciated. Overall impression is good.
Even though we arrived at around 4:30 am we still could check-in. Really nice and clean rooms and nice staff. RECOMMENDATION! The location is not as close as I wish it would be - but for 5 bucks you are able to take a bus every 10 min to Amsterdam City if this is your destination to go...
very nice rooms, clean rooms, vrendly employee`s, 30 min with a car to amsterdam , good brekfest you can teak what you want, the bar closed at 23.00 our what we vound to early! you can smoke outside and you stay dry
A long way from the airport and the 25EUR transfer cost means its often cheaper to stay closer. Rooms weren't great, ours was missing a few ceiling panels and no A/C. Breakfast was very good though. As others have said Amsterdam is a 1 hour bus ride.
If you need a hotel for one night close to the airport it is perfect, clean with good connection to the airport (bus that takes you to the airport in 10 minutes), there is also a McDonald next to the hotel.
