"A 3.5 Star Hotel -- "Good", but Not "Very Good""
longhorn74, 11 Octobre 2018

My friend and I recently spent one night at this hotel during our visit to Joshua Tree NP. My basic criteria for a hotel stay is that it be clean, quiet and comfortable. The BW Gardens Hotel was both clean and quiet (given that it is located off a major road), but neither I nor my friend had a completely comfortable sleep because of a lack of sufficient warm bedding. We both like sleeping in a slightly cool room with warm blankets/bedspreads, but the beds in this room only had a sheet and a thin blanket -- not even a bedspread. We checked all the drawers and closets and there was no additional bedding in the room. I managed OK by doubling the thin blanket over itself, but it wasn't a real comfortable sleep. Breakfast was served until 9:30 am and we got there at 9:00 am. The very small breakfast room was packed and food was in short supply -- the pastries were all gone; the milk pitchers were empty; the waffle batter dispenser was empty, etc. The attendant was GREAT and scurried around to refill everything, but it was clear that he needed help. Where this hotel did stand out was with the staff. Both front desk clerks that I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful in answering questions. The breakfast room attendant was also extremely friendly and helpful -- he just needed more help. (And the platter of chocolate chip cookies on the front desk was a life-saver after a day of strenuous hiking in the park!)

"Great hotel and very convenient to either entrance to the park"
williambR3849PV, 08 Octobre 2018

Nice room with standard ammenities. The breakfast was great with a complete assortment of breakfast items. quick, easy drive to the park entrance. Friendly front desk staff. Will stay at this hotel on my next trip.

"Under my expectation "
steelriver2014, 04 Octobre 2018

This hotel needs to be refurbished urgently. We didn't feel very comfortable and the beds were horrible - probably 20 years old. The service was great though. The breakfast was average like all other same level hotels in this country.

"Very basic - no frills "
AngusMilly, 25 Septembre 2018

This is a very basic place. Rooms are a little old/tired but clean enough. Small bathroom but everything worked ok. No frills. Reception staff pleasant enough. Breakfast room was really small with tables too close and people were falling over themselves and the tables/chairs to plate up from the quite limited buffet. This is fine as a pit stop but has no frills.

"horrible customer service"
CCwork, 04 Septembre 2018

The hotel itself is great.. rooms are nice and comfortable beds.. the staff on the other hand are not trained very well and they are under the leadership of a rude and disrespectful manager.. I am a Diamond member with Best Western so this not my first time staying at one of their hotels.. I have always had a great experience until this one.. I had a billing issue with them and they were not willing to correct it in any way and the manager was extremely rude about the whole thing...I travel a lot for work so I will try and avoid staying at this particular Best Western if I can..

"A great hotel close to JTNP"
getaway55Vancouver, 03 Septembre 2018

We found this hotel to be very reasonably priced, with large, clean, comfortable and quiet rooms, and a good hot breakfast included. The location is excellent, close to JTNP entrance, easily accessible. Nice grounds and good swimming pool/patio area for relaxing after hiking in the park. Highly recommended.

"Nothing special."
WeronikaR570, 30 Août 2018

It was my first time at a hotel this class, that chambermaids didn't tidy up the room or make the beds, only changed the towels. Breakfast typically american, nothing special and delicious. Sheer avarage.

"Great stay"
mob17484, 21 Août 2018

This Best Western at Joshua Tree was a great, clean location near the Oasis Vistors Center entrance to the park. The staff was friendly, the breakfast had many options and the rooms were clean! Check in and out was quick and easy. I would recommend this hotel!

"fair value"
tom c, 21 Août 2018

A chain is a chain, so did not expect charm etc. It is a fair price for a fair stay, location great next to joshua tree, rooms clean and quiet..fine overall. Breakfast was very basic and adequate.overall happy.

"One Quick Nights Stay "
Richele R, 18 Août 2018

Nice place for it being in Twentynine Palms! Clean rooms and polite staff. Actually, the rooms were HUGE! Lots of space and very well done. I assume they were new remodeled sometime recently (furniture seemed new) The pool was really nice and plenty spacious. Breakfast was fairly basic but good and a nice bonus.

"Very Friendly and Helpful Staff"
kb1zhs, 13 Août 2018

Everything was fine with my stay at this hotel. When I checked out I left a treasured Walking Stick in my room and was not aware of this until the hotel staff called me on my cell phone about it. I was over 200 miles from the hotel and could not return to the hotel to get it. The hotel staff ( Sami ) is working with me ( 8/12/18 ) to have the stick returned to me via Fedex. I appreciate that level of concern.

"Clean Rooms"
228mariateresab, 31 Juillet 2018

Was here for personal reason. The receptionist that check me in was very helpful in telling me places and directionsThe rooms was clean, easy to get WiFi service and courteous staff. The continental breakfast was always a plus.

"Good stay"
richardcI2753PG, 26 Juillet 2018

This is a good place to stay at if visiting the base in town, lots of places to eat at nearby would defenitely recommend to anyone wether on a budget or not, no issues at all ac worked well which was defenitely needed

"Comfortable and Clean"
dishull, 16 Juillet 2018

Had a very pleasant stay at this location. So much that we have booked it several times lately. The staff is more than friendly, they are very respectful. Breakfast was also nice & the attendants are eager to help with anything you need.

"This is closer to an antiquated motel than a Best Western"
Capitol_Backpacker, 15 Juillet 2018

I'll start by saying that the staff is mostly nice and helpful, but our stay at this place was probably one of the worst so far. The standard room actually has one queen bed to it and that was only the beginning of it. The breakfast area was overcrowded and while the kitchen guy did try, the wasn't enough of anything to go around. One of my kids summed up the night in a single sentence - This isn't a best western, it's a Worst Western.

"Convenient location"
Sahelijo, 09 Juillet 2018

Excellent staff, very friendly. Hotel rooms are dated and the airconditioning units are pretty loud when running. Not sure why the plywood on the outside hasn't been covered, it looks as if construction is still ongoing. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel (which is complimentary). Wifi is for free and works well (I stayed in 605 next to the pool, very convenient with 100+ degrees). Fitness room door lock is broken and the equipment didn't llom as if it had been maintained. No wipes to clean. Location is good for entrance to the park (visitor center at 29 Palms is nicer than the one at Joshua Tree (the village).

"Close to the park"
Jerry L, 02 Juillet 2018

This is a very nice Best Western. They upgraded us to a two room King suite. it was very nice and clean. We didn't need the kitchenette but it would have been great had we had. The staff was friendly and helpful. Close to Joshua Tree National Park and a good price for the location.

"Needs a complete overhaul"
JSP92, 25 Juin 2018

We have just completed a road trip across America staying mostly at Best Western Hotel. With one notable exception this was a pleasant way to see America and stay in some nice hotels. Unfortunately this hotel is the notable exception, it was old tired and run down. In fact we were so disappointed with the room we booked out without staying and moved to an other hotel nearby.

"Good stop in front in the desert"
sylvie m, 02 Juin 2018

Very good place to stay before visiting the magnificient joshua tree park. Old fashion hotel but comfortable, clean, large room, ... However a little beat noisy due to a poor insulation ground floor/first floor. Great breakfast with a smiling and very efficient waiter. Gluten free bread available. Fresh fruits. Good price.

"not a lot of choices"
puffy11, 02 Juin 2018

The rooms really need to be updated, somewhat dingy looking. It was clean and there aren't a lot of other choices in town but just a little depressing inside the room. Staff is great and the breakfast crew worked so hard to provide enough food for the tremendous crowd that overflowed the eating area.

"Great location for Joshua Tree Nat'l Park"
994elizabethh, 01 Juin 2018

This hotel had a great location for the park. We had a one bedroom suite which had a complete kitchen as well. There was plenty of room for us and and all of our stuff that we travel with. Laundry facilities were available which is also very helpful if you are on an extended trip as we were. There were also good restaurants close by.

"Enjoyed Our Second Visit"
Kenneth L, 31 Mai 2018

We had stayed here the year before and are very happy here. The staff is friendly, the room was nice and larger than some similar hotels, the continental breakfast is above average. The room has all the usual, Wi-Fi, TV, microwave, refrigerator, hair drier, iron, coffee mater. It is about five miles from the center of town and about eight miles from the North entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The one complaint, in an effort to reduce waste from small bottles of shampoo and such, the shampoo is in dispensers in the bathtub. Since my wife and I use the sink to wash our hair, we bought a small bottle of shampoo at the nearby Rite Aid. We already plan to visit again next year.

"Charged for questionable laundry services"
86005, 25 Mai 2018

I used one of the towels to dry my hair. It was recently died and left some dye on the towel. I didn't think much about it because it always washes off from our towels when I do laundry at home, since it is a really high quality, salon dye. Surely enough my credit card was charged $20! for a typical hotel towel (thin, scratchy, washed about million times already rug). When contacted, hotel send me a picture of poorly washed towel. That's all. Not a single word in this email. Replied to this email and asked to be contacted by a manager. That was 5 days ago. Still no response. In addition to being very upset about being forced to pay for this hotel's questionable laundry service and the fact that customer service is virtually non-existent, it simply makes me sick to my stomach to think that the hotel laundry didn't wash off something that easily comes off with some laundry detergent. Just think about that when you consider booking....

"Joshua Tree BW"
P6474JZrichardg, 24 Mai 2018

It was a wonderful stay, clean rooms, and the breakfast was worth it. The staff was always helpful and knowledgeable and always had recommended restaurants in the area or outside of the area. They even went out of their way to make me feel like I was almost home.

"Good Overnight Stay"
Michelle P, 22 Mai 2018

We stopped off here for a night en route from Vegas to Palm Springs. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but a great location if you plan to visit Joshua Tree National Park (worth a visit, beautiful place). The hotel is set against a backdrop of mountains and the views are terrific. Our room/suite was huge with a separate bedroom and living area. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation in the twentynine palms area.

"clean and straightforward"
amanday0der, 21 Mai 2018

No frills here - but honestly this place was perfect! The pool was clean, the chairs worked great, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet (apart from a family having some kind of come to jesus moment in the hallway), the staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast had the waffles you expect. This place is a great value for the price, and is super close to the north side entrance to Joshua Tree. Only about 10 minutes away from the city of Joshua Tree as well, and about 15 from the west-side entrance to J.T. This hotel was everything we expected!

"Great hotel in a nice town."
Anthony C, 17 Mai 2018

I couldn't fault this place. It was clean, close to Joshua Tree National Park, with a pool and ample parking. The staff were friendly, from Heather at the front desk to the housekeepers and the guy who set up and kept the hearty breakfast buffet stocked. Breakfast opened at 5.30 which is great for hikers to get out and beat the heat. Hardly heard a peep from the other rooms or hallways. I'd definitely make this my first choice when going back to Twenty Nine Palms.

"Comfort at a great price"
drsaraswati2, 14 Mai 2018

We stay here a few times a year when attending festivals. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable, staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is nice to have available so early. We will continue to stay here on future trips

"Room was just OK"
imcruzin30, 13 Mai 2018

Check in was good, but room could be better. Had hard time connecting to the internet, finally gave up. Bed was what I call an valley bed, wore and needs to be replaced. Looks like they might be switching out some of the beds, as there were old ones by the dumpster. Room was neat, but long hairs left in the tub and behind the bathroom door. I do expect better in a Best Western....

"Very disappointed with his hotel."
Dawn C, 11 Mai 2018

The best part of this hotel is the location -- great access to the park. I stayed in a suite and it was very dark and depressing inside. The fridge was in the living area, and housekeeping never did the dishes during their rounds. Outside was not clean -- not ADA friendly at all!

"Desert Beauty"
Dan C, 30 Avril 2018

All you could ask for in a trip to Joshua Tree. Friendly staff, nice accommodations, good breakfast.Close proximity to everything. Thumbs up! Would definitely stay here again. If I had to submit one complaint, it would be that the breakfast room was too small, But to avoid that just get up earlier :-).

"Little hidden gem"
Bill V, 29 Avril 2018

We loved this hotel. It had all the amenities. Our room was very clean and had a very comfortable bed. Great location making it easy to explore the area. Surrounded by mountains. Great breakfast included.

"Nice but some room for improvement"
Raven25Blue, 27 Avril 2018

Check-in was positive, I had booked a room with one queen bed and got a free upgrade to a king room. However, it was located right next to the housekeeping room which had a very noisy a/c running constantly and it couldn't be turned off. I ended up switching rooms which was quite inconvenient, having to drag all my luggage all the way down to the other end of the hallway. That room was much more quiet though so in the end I was happy about my decision to request a different room. Cleanliness could be improved a bit - the carpet in both rooms hadn't been vacuumed too well and there were lots of bird droppings in the (open) stairways. The breakfast selection was nice but the breakfast room gets cramped fast and the garbage bin was overflowing both days I ate there. They have dispensers for shampoo and liquid soap but no conditioner. Their "business center" is a laptop computer next to the front desk without a chair - looks like they don't want guests to get too comfortable there...

"Quiet and Clean"
Wildwoodatheart, 26 Avril 2018

We were here for two nights while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Our check in was quick, although the desk clerk seemed like she was just reciting a memorized script to get us checked in. She was not very personable, but no worries. It was late in the day, probably close to the end of her shift. We were given a VERY large room in the back of a separate building. It felt like we were walking down a back alley to get to our room, but it also made it very quiet at night. We had a living room area with a couch and chair and large screen tv. The furniture was old and worn, and not comfortable. The beds, though, were very comfortable. The pillows were pretty useless, though. They had no support; it was like sleeping with none at all. (Although most hotels these days don't invest in decent pillows.) There was a huge walk-in closet, which we did not need. You could have put a crib in there, though. The bathroom was clean, if in need of some touching up. There were some chips and scrapes. The breakfast in the morning was your typical BW free breakfast. We ate late both days, so there wasn't much food left. I'm not a fan of microwave bacon or those pre-packaged scambled eggs. Supposedly, they had made to order smoothies, but we didn't try them. The seating was really tight inside, not much room to maneuver. All in all, a decent stay, but I'd probably see what else was available in the area if I went back.

"Worn room, but huge, quiet and clean"
grip652, 26 Avril 2018

I thought we were getting a room, but turned out to be a suite. Number 504 has a huge living room with sofa, chairs, etc and an efficiency kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave oven, plus all the utensils. A separate bedroom had a king sized bed, a little soft, but comfortable. Good thing the bedroom was at the back of the suite because our room faced right onto the busy highway. The rooms were clean, but smelled faintly of cat box. Breakfast was good, a variety of cereals, breads, and the usual BW reconstituted eggs with a meat and a potato side side each day. And it starts at 5:30 each morning. Office staff was friendly and helpful.I would recommend this hotel.

"Close to Joshua Tree Entrance"
cleokittylove, 23 Avril 2018

Staff was excellent, room was nicely furnished, large, and clean. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast was very good with ample food/fruit/eggs/coffee/juice etc. Breakfast area was a bit small for the number of customers...but BW is working on expanding a new one. Only the exterior door to room didn't fit the door frame thus allowing bugs in the room.

"Decent Hotel "
tracy8623, 15 Avril 2018

Stayed for one night, arrived early so couldn't check in but managed to get changed in the restroom and have a lovely afternoon at the pool. It could have done with a bit of a clean, there were a few dead flies in it. The rooms are a decent size, iron, board and hairdryer provided. There is also a fridge and microwave. Nice bathroom with good towels and power shower. Free coffee in lobby is a nice gesture. There is a large supermarket a few minutes walk away and a couple of diners. We ate in Johns Place which was really good.

"Nice hotel"
Jill P, 14 Avril 2018

We were here to visit my son, hotel staff are very helpful, caring. Room was clean and breakfast was delicious. Also, casino nearby and palm springs about 40 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

"Helpful staff, clean rooms, great bbq area"
mbacon0227, 13 Avril 2018

The room was large, comfortable, and clean. Pool area nice and contained a covered patio with bbqs. Use this area one night for our group and it was perfect for end of day gathering. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is what would be expected at this type of venue. Included premade omlettes, sausage, potatoes which were pretty good. Stayed in handicap room which would have been better with a roll in shower. My husband could not use the tub, so we had to leave a day early. Not many handicap ramps.

"Clean and nice, but need some maintenance"
Ulrik P, 09 Avril 2018

I stayed at the hotel for one night. The staff was nice and friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel might need a little maintenance. The Water Tap in the bathtub was loose, and the toilet made a lot of noise af flushing. So much noise, that I consideret not flushing during the night. When I told the personel at check-out, they didn't seemed surpriced at all.

"Solid 2 star"
Todd A, 08 Avril 2018

It is not a 3 star hotel . . Solid 2. Staff were great. Clean room. Comfortable bed. The door locks were terrible . . They never worked during my stay . . Always had to go back to the front desk and they had to let me in. Good location. Security issue: the hallway on the 2nd floor is open to the outside . . No barriers. No elevators to the 2nd floor. 24 hour front desk.

"Clean, affordable, not fancy, decent stay"
mamasiobhan, 07 Avril 2018

We got what we wanted -- a clean, affordable, pretty comfortable place to stay, with a pool for my daughter. The decor in the room was nice. We got what we needed! I appreciate the hotel chain's efforts to reduce waste by having dispensers for toiletries instead of lots of small bottles, but I'd like to see them be more waste-conscious with their breakfasts too. I don't see any reason why disposable plates, bowls and cutlery are necessary.

"Wonderful staff, who kindly went out of their way"
Andrea P, 06 Avril 2018

When we were harassed at a nearby hotel, the staff at the front desk did everything they could to get us a room at 11 pm at night with no reservation. They were incredibly kind and the hotel itself was great. Would 100% recommend this place to friends traveling to visit Joshua Tree.

"Comfortable visit"
sortaisrr, 30 Mars 2018

Best Western provided a comfortable place to stay during our visit to Joshua Tree National Park. We enjoyed the full breakfast to start the day and appreciated the environment-friendly options for saving water and reducing trash.

"Pretty good Best Western"
Computergeek60, 26 Mars 2018

Comfortable beds, nice breakfast . Only complaint is at peak breakfast time, there are not enough tables for all the people trying to eat. They have some tables outside, they can use more. One night I was in a downstairs room, and I could hear the person above me walking around, so the second floor may be a better option if you are sensitive to noise.

"Best Western JT"
User, 17 Mars 2018

This is my first visit to JT area from Maryland (east coast USA). This hotel is good for the setting and location to major services on the same 29 Palms Highway. I can even hike up the side of the hotel to the nearby JT National Park. The front desk was handling the service requests nicely and I have a very positive impression during this visit. Best Western rocks!

"Great location, nice property"
tkelly7, 16 Mars 2018

I stayed at this hotel over president's day weekend, because all the campgrounds in the park were full and I needed a place to sleep. The price was right, the location was great (close to the Oasis entrance of the park and restaurants in town), and the staff of the hotel was helpful and cheerful. The WiFi was free, the room was clean and secure, and the breakfast was homemade -- a cook on the spot making eggs any way you wanted them. In short, it is everything you would want in a hotel that is acting as a base of operations for visiting the park.Luxury? Of course not, but I would definitely stay here again.

"Not the best BW, but adequate"
Dottie H, 14 Mars 2018

Beware. They only change the sheets once every 4 days unless you ask--it was pretty clear they hadn't taken much care with the bedding. The room we had (king suite) was very worn out and had a somewhat musty smell. It was also on the road--ok for sleeping because the bedroom as at the back, but noisy in the main room. Internet was good, but the password was funky and it was necessary to re-login multiple times (annoying). Breakfast room is just a converted guest room, so very tight. Remember to ask for towels for the pool at the desk (imagine that) and don't go without the code to open the gate. Pluses were the staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the pool was warm and open starting at 5:30 a.m.

"We would stay here again"
BH51, 11 Mars 2018

We choose Best Westerns because they hold high standards, and we're never disappointed. This held tru for the Gardens Hotel in Twentynine Palms. We stayed for four nights while visiting Joshua Tree NP. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent (with a few extras, like granola and slivered alonds for the oatmeal, salsa and cheese for the eggs). We'd stay here again if were travel to this area. Only two cautions - there is no elevator, and the plumbing to the sink was reversed (hot on right, cold on left, which could be a safety issue.

"Good value"
Andrew W, 09 Mars 2018

Comfortable bed, without extra blanket. Warm pool and hot tub. Modest priced finishes but clean room. Wednesday evening guest thank you dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. Good sun block curtains and air conditioner.

"Pretty Nice Room, Great Staff, Uncomfortable Bed"
NVJudie, 05 Mars 2018

We were in town a couple of nights to visit Joshua Tree. We splurged for a suite. I was disappointed to be so near the pool because we like it quiet at night. The first night was somewhat noisy early on, but everyone left the area by about 9 pm. The bedroom is in the back, so that helped as well. The suite had been renovated and was clean. The toiletries were all in dispensers, two in the bathtub/shower and two by the sink. Hated it. They may think they're saving money, but it was annoying to have to pump 15-20 times just to get enough shampoo to wash my hair. Each pump only produced the smallest of drops. The mattress was very uncomfortable. I kept waking about every two hours with hip and shoulder pain and had to shift positions. Linens were nice, though. Breakfast was much as expected, a variety of hot and cold offerings. What was new was the cheerful "Welcome to breakfast" greeting offered to each guest by the hardworking attendant. So, our stay was a mixed bag. I may try another hotel on a future visit for comparison.

"Not a good experience"
jlava88, 03 Mars 2018

First the two positives: the staff and the personal care products (very good). Everything else was bad. We stayed there two nights so we could visit Joshua Tree National Park. The rooms are very old, dirty, with stained & ripped carpets and towels. No blankets, thin sheets. VERY loud heater/fan unit. Paper thin walls. But the worst part of the experience for us was that there is NO BACK DOOR to this hotel building. It is open to the outside. Our room was on the second floor near the end of the hall in the last unit. We climbed the outside stairwell and just walked right into the second floor hallway - anyone can just walk in. I never experienced anything like this. The biggest problem was that the smoking area was right at the bottom of this stairwell, so the smoke drifts up the stairs and down the second floor hallway! If you open the door to your room, the smoke goes inside, which was our experience. The woman at the front desk was apologetic and sprayed the hall and room with air freshener.

"Charming hotel in a good location"
JLPA, 25 Février 2018

If you want the Ritz, this is not it. Older facility with a few facelifts but not totally renovated. But we liked it for its charm, low profile, friendly staff, location on the desert, near the park entrance. Beds and breakfast were good, so what's not to like?

"Adequate nothing special"
OldNavy1961, 12 Février 2018

We stayed here because the price was right and we had recently had some great experieces with BW in MOab. Well not all are as nice. This was ok. It's a motel. Ie doors to the parking lot. It was clean enough. We, not by need, got a disabled room. The shower leaked. 29 palms is a great jump off point for Joshua Tree National Park. Not much for restaurants though. If you want to spend more money. Go to one of the chains nearby.

"Not Nearly as Good as I had Hoped"
ShifraToronto, 09 Février 2018

I love to write a five star review for a really great property, so I always approach my arrival at a hotel I have never been at before with a positive attitude. I was going to be in Twenty Nine Palms for two nights and I had envisioned staying in the same room and being able to spend the entire day in between at Joshua Tree National Park. However, I could not get a room for two nights in a row at either Fairfield Inn or this Best Western, so I had to switch midday. Which is how I got to experience each of these hotels and compare them. The two hotels are well located and very close to each other. Both are near a strip mall which has a Staters supermarket and a Dollar Tree. I had brought a cooler of food with me and stocked it at the Walmart Supercenter in Yucca Valley, not knowing there would be a well stocked supermarket within walking distance. It is a good piece of information to be aware of. You can buy much cheaper souvenirs at the dollar store than in the park and there is a Rite Aid a short drive down the road. My first interaction with front desk staff at this Best Western was excellent. so I started off on the right foot. I had booked an upgraded suite, in the building adjacent to the pool. It was supposed to have a full kitchen. Unfortunately for me (and this is not the hotel's fault, it is just something I wanted to share if it happened to you, too), there is another Best Western in Yucca Valley and this came up when I was searching for hotels near Joshua Tree National Park. That Best Western has full sized fridges and freezers and granite countertops in their kitchens and the reviews were wonderful. I thought that was what I would be getting, so I was a bit disappointed when I noticed a small bar fridge in the living room with no freezer to speak of and no room on the door for a two litre container of milk or juice. In fact, there was no room on the door for almost anything. The suite was large and roomy; the carpeting and furniture were old and tired, the cabinets more like the type you would find in a national park than a Best Western hotel and the counter was stained. I have stayed in Xanterra lodging before, and all this would not have bothered me if it were clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the level of cleanliness in this suite was appalling. There was a used, smelly dish sponge on the sink, the sink was dirty and spotty, all of the dishes in the cabinet had water spots. The unit does not have paper towels. I called the front desk and asked for some paper towels. Lacey kindly brought me a frayed towel to use as a dishcloth and a new dish sponge. If you need paper towels, bring your own. It is quite unusual not to have a roll of paper towels in this type of suite. Later in the evening, I wanted to make a pot of coffee. The coffeemaker was filthy. I carried it to the front desk to ask if I could have another. There was no other. The staff at the front desk washed the coffeepot for me. I travel a LOT and I have never experienced such a dirty coffeepot before. The bed was comfortable enough, but the cover was very thin. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until the middle of the night, when I was cold. I went searching for a spare cover in the closet; there was none. The location near the pool pleased me at first. Not so, after dark, when loud teenagers hung out at the tables inside the pool, playing cards and shouting, just outside my door, for hours. It was too cold to actually use the pool. I wonder what this might be like when it is warmer. Breakfast was okay, but I do not generally eat the hot offerings, so I cannot rave the way some others have. I had my own food, which is why I had wanted a bigger fridge. I had to use my cooler to store the milk, juice and some other items overnight. The bathroom had a nicely sized vanity, room for spreading out cosmetics and toiletries. The towels were not plush, but they were adequate and there were enough of them. This hotel does not give you individual toiletries. The shampoo and body wash are in dispensers in the shower and there is hand soap in a dispenser over the counter. This is a good conservation measure. Unfortunately, the dispensers did not work well. I could not get anything out of the ones over the vanity, no matter how hard I pushed. The poor maintenance and lack of appropriate cleanliness of this unit were surprising for a Best Western. I am a Diamond member of Hilton and the Best Western had matched my Diamond status for their hotel. This was not at all a great experience and certainly not one that reflected being a Diamond member. I did not get any upgrade because the hotel was full. So, how to rate this hotel? The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I give them a five. I rate the housekeeping staff, or at least the crew responsible for the maintenance of my room, minus one. Location was good and convenient to Joshua Tree's Oasis entrance. But, so is Fairview Inn's. I wrote a five star review for Fairfield Inn and it is the place I recommend you stay in the Twenty Nine Palms area.

Very friendly staff, easy check in. Rooms clean and housekeeping was great. Easy check out with helpful front desk staff. Good place to stay. My only gripe was the beds weren't too comfortable, but the scenery kind of made up for it

"Surprisingly good"
Waterwalla, 05 Février 2018

Everything you want in a motel: dark, quiet, comfortable bed, clean, good shower, competent employees and real food for breakfast. I had not thought much about Best Western hotels, but I will seek them out in the future if this is any indication of their quality.

Decent room, great service. Breakfast not very good. The head Desk employee extremely professional and kind. The head of housekeeping also very kind and helpful and professional. The location close to my destination.

"Above average at a great price."
Char C, 25 Janvier 2018

Was my first stay here, at this location. Is SUPER close to Joshua Tree. The Continental breakfast ROCKED! That day had, cooked omelets, hash browns and sausage. A waffle maker. Made to order iced coffees and smoothies. Then all the cereals, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt essentials. The property was spotless. The staff was EXTRA polite. I stayed during the winter, and I was chilly at night. The heater worked fine. But the bed blanket was thin (the bed only had one) and my room had no spare blanket or pillow. I could have called the desk, but was lazy. So I wont blame the hotel for that. It has a heated outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub. The pavement and external building structures are showing their age. But are not decrepit. I got a king suite, with an in room hot tub and it was GREAT. Those rooms are in a separate building, which is a single story. Which I like, for less noise of not having a room above you. The room was HUGE. I made my reservation a month prior. I knew I would be walking in Joshua Tree and I would be tired. I was. I really liked that hot tub. I will be back.Thank you Best Western.

"Good Hotel, close to north entrance of Joshua Tree N.P., excellent breakfast, good pool/hot tub"
Damon G, 14 Janvier 2018

We stayed here 3 days while we visited Jostua a Tree N.P. It was only 10 minutes from the north entrance. The continental breakfast is excellent, one of the best I have had at a standard hotel. The pool is temperature controlled and you can swim in it year round. The hot tub is nice. Staff is very friendly. Parking is easy.

"Fine for a night "
karoleigh, 09 Janvier 2018

My husband and I stayed at this inn on the night of January 5. The inn is conveniently located close to Joshua Tree National Park, which was our purpose for being in Twentynine Palms. The weather was very warm and sunny, which helped us enjoy the outdoor hot tub on the facility's ground. The inn itself is very typical of the older Best Western inns, although the second floor has an interior corridor. Breakfast was typical of hotel chain breakfasts, with egg, fruit, waffles, etc. I wouldn't have a problem with staying there again.

"Average, but location is great"
Brandon W, 04 Janvier 2018

Check in process is a pain - It says check in at 3pm we arrived at 3:15pm to check in and had to wait for 45mins before we were eventually allocated a room. The bed was made the next day and that was all that was done - no fresh towels or even fold our towels as most hotels do. We used the throw away coffee cups and they were not replaced. If you are looking for a hotel with a fitness centre don't bother - the equipment is ancient, dusty and there are only a few items there - There is an amazing fitness centre about 0.4miles down the road called Total Fitness - absolutely incredible It does have a great location and that the only thing going for the hotel

"perfect for visiting Joshua Tree"
stripesandcanvas, 03 Janvier 2018

We stayed here while we were visiting Joshua Tree National Park. It was very easy to find the hotel and I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. It is about 5-10 minutes away from the Twentynine Palms entrance of Joshua Tree and about 20-30 minutes away from the Joshua Tree entrance of the park, meaning the hotel location is very good for both options. It has a pool which unfortunately I did not get to use as it was quite chilly during the time of the year we visited, but I think it would make a great time for summer nights. Breakfast is complimentary and has everything you would see at similar other hotels (yogurt, cereal, eggs, bread, coffee, etc).

"Friendly place to stay - watch out our full size beds !"
W9868PEmarkm, 03 Janvier 2018

Good location, good rooms - but the beds are only full beds - why oh why??? Queen is only thing that made sense. Friendly staff - stands out for the staff as thatbreally made a difference. Location location is good for Joshua tree and Mojave

"Great hotel gateway to Joshua Tree"
LXH99, 31 Décembre 2017

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Best western Joshua Tree Garden. What stood out most was the staff at the hotel and the breakfast staff. They provided cheerful greetings and were prompt in assisting guests.

"Good BW hotel"
Elena A, 31 Décembre 2017

My suite was very good by itself (cleanliness and comfort) but to close to the noisy road, kid wasn't able to sleep very well :( The breakfast is more continental (omelette, coffee, links, bread, cereal, juice).

"Breakfast in America"
iWiebe, 26 Décembre 2017

Nice hotel at the western outskirts of Twentynine Palms. Friendly and welcoming staff at reception. Room is adequate with all the amenities you need. The one thing that really stands out is the great breakfast which is served in the morning.

"Location close to Park North East Entrance."
nyob, 25 Décembre 2017

Excellent Service, very helpful staff. Oh, what a view of the sky from near the top of a hill, we saw the Space X launch from the parking lot. We like the kitchen Suite, separate living room, full small kitchen well equipped. Only problem is they have two large TVs, and some guests actually turn theirs on until midnight! The sound goes right through the walls. (Oh, wasn't it good of me not to turn mine on at 5 am!) So, the front desk actually brought us a key to a room a couple of doors down for peace and quiet! Now about that better than average hotel breakfast: the hostess will custom make a luscious wild berry smoothie and/or a custom made waffle in addition to the pre-made omelettes with all the fixin's, They have real plain yogurt and a dish of sliced almonds. Very nice!

"Close to park entrance"
85254, 21 Décembre 2017

This hotel is convenient to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park - about 15 minutes away. My room, 506, was very spacious, with a chair, couch, refrigerator, microwave, & huge closet. The staff was very friendly and helpfu.

"Pleasant stay!"
X8410EVlorenas, 18 Décembre 2017

The hotel was accurately priced for the amenities provided. Very clean and spacious hotel rooms. Friendly staff. There is a BBQ grill outside the pool area with picnic tables which I thought was neat, we didn't use it but was useful for other families. My favorite part was the breakfast, super delicious and friendly staff. Totally recommend.

"BOOKER BEWARE!!!"
JCHAVEZ1919, 11 Décembre 2017

I booked a room here for my grandparents for 1 night. My grandma woke up sick the morning they were supposed to start their tavels. I tried cancelling their room and this hotel WOULD NOT cancel their reservation even though I explained that my grandma was in the hospital. The lady I spoke with directly at the hotel was rude and did not give good customer service and when I asked for the corporate number she refused to give it to me until I said it was my right as a customer to call the corporate office to speak to someone. I called the corporate office and everyone I spoke to was extremely helpful and nice. It took the general manager, Amra Webster, all day to respond the inquiry of cancelling the room. She then proceeded to state that they would not cancel or refund any money that was already paid and that they were sticking to hotel policy. They offered to move the dates and for us to pay a higher rate if necessary. The problem with this is, we do not know when my grandmother will be well enough to make that trip; it is a 9 hour trip from her home. This Best Western and the general manager in particular has lost not just 1, but many customers from our family. We will no longer stay at any Best Western and will opt for other hotel chains. Just as the saying goes, "one bad apple can ruin them all" and the Best Western Gardens at Joshua Tree National Park is the bad apple that has ruined the chain for not just my grandparents, but for our whole family!

"Nice Stay Close to Joshua Tree"
bookmarkedit, 02 Décembre 2017

I booked this hotel due to location and price. I was there for an event close to the Joshua Tree campgrounds, and this place fit the bill. The property was booked full the night of my stay, so there was a little shuffling of availability before I got my room number, but nothing to fuss about. The room was spacious, and I liked that there was a separate vanity area with a sink. The free breakfast was decent (not great, but it was free and did the job!). The day I went they had delicious off-menu smoothies. I would stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

"Great stay, close to Joshua Tree National Park"
988leslyl, 01 Décembre 2017

The breakfast at this Best Western is great! Healthy options, such as fresh fruit and omelets. Lots of items to choose from! Complimentary breakfast is something that is important to us and we look for hotels that offer this option. This hotel is very clean, though it's a bit of an older hotel, but everything is clean and neat. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

"OK hotel, convenient for Joshua Tree national park"
KitSuffolk_UK, 29 Novembre 2017

The welcome was bland, not particularly friendly. The room, on the first floor overlooking the swimming pool, was spacious but slightly tired. It was quiet and well away from the busy main road. We used the swimming pool on both days we were at the hotel, and as the weather was a good way to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon. On both occasions we were the only people using it. Sadly, the hotel was not quite as close to the town centre as we thought and we had to use the car to go out for dinner in the evenings. Breakfast was only OK, the breakfast room was very small and cramped for the size of the hotel and was crowded on both mornings. Overall, it was good value.

"For an enjoyable night"
MJ C, 22 Novembre 2017

This hotel is very closed to Joshua Tree state park. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful and provides a wonderful experience. Erica was a wonderful person and very helpful. We had an easy booking and completion of our small vacation

"Star gazing at Joshua Tree"
N1337WDjamesp, 20 Novembre 2017

My girlfriend and I were going to go to Joshua Tree for looking at stars and hiking at the National Park. I was looking for a place to stay since all the camp sites were booked. I have to say I was a little apprehensive about the hotels in the area but decided to take a chance and was pleasantly surprised how nice the Best Western was. Room was great, very clean and the staff was so friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on my next visit.

"Great place to stay"
Gary W, 15 Novembre 2017

We stayed here for a couple of nights. We paid just a little more than the standard room for one that included a king size bed and a jetted tub. The little extra was well worth it because the room was much larger than the standard room. Included a microwave and small refrigerator. Also, free wifi that worked pretty well. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. The breakfast area is a bit small and can get pretty crowded, but the food was pretty good and the service was excellent.

"Heartless"
Celia M, 15 Novembre 2017

I was looking forward to staying here but had to return to the UK unexpectedly when a close relative was seriously ill. This Best Western were not even prepared to consider giving us a refund for nights we prepaid and sent a terse reply to my request which I found heartless, given the circumstances. All the other hotels we booked gave us refunds even when not obliged to. Best Western HQ were equally unhelpful in their response to my refund request. I was extremely disappointed that a Best Western hotel was so unhelpful and will put me off staying at one of their hotels again.

"Star Gazing at its best"
KDR20152015, 13 Novembre 2017

Had a great time at the BW Gardens Hotel at Joshua Tree. My husband and I went to visit the Milky Way and the BW made it all that more enjoyable. Being a little older and not quite in shape to climb the rocks or traverse the trails - I enjoyed the comfort that was provided. The Gardens has a lovely pool with an area to meet (BBQ provided). The rooms are nice, comfortable and actually clean (bathroom and a/c vents especially) . Due to the Sky festival at Joshua Tree the Hotel was fully booked and yet it was quiet and the staff did an amazing job accommodating us all. Thank you

"Good budget hotel"
DartfordOrn, 06 Novembre 2017

Stayed one night in order to visit the park. Room was excellent - very big, and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was limited, although it was fine, especially bearing in mind the price of the room. It is on the outskirts of the town, so you'll have to drive to get to the town itself for dinner or drinks (although that wasn't a problem as I was always planning to go into the park for a little bit of stargazing after dinner)

"Good place to stay for National Park"
Peter J, 06 Novembre 2017

Arrived quite late and was greeted by Erica on reception. A lovely lady who treated us really well. A quick check in. Our room was on the second floor. It was large clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Good wifi. Fridge, TV, coffee making included. The bathroom was fine, slightly older than some we had stayed in but it was clean. Wash basin was in the main room. We had a good breakfast with cereal, bread/toast, eggs and bacon/sausage. Tea, coffee and juice. The national park entrance is about 20 mins away. The hotel is clearly older than some but is clean. The only issue I would raise is that the upstairs corridor is open via stairs so in theory anyone could walk into the hotel, up to the second floor and have potential access to the rooms. Maybe the door to the upstairs could have a lock on it. On our second evening there Erica cooked a free Mexican meal for the guests. It was lovely. Erica was such a lovely welcoming lady. Good hotel to stay at for the Park. Recommended.

"Great Service with a smile!"
D9786YDrobint, 05 Novembre 2017

Very cheerful and helpful staff. Rooms, pool and lobby were clean and well maintained. Complimentary breakfast was varied, tasty and healthy. Convenient location on main drag, with desert/mountain view right outside the door. Priced right as well!

"Nice Base to Visit Joshua Tree"
Silvertravelsurfer, 01 Novembre 2017

My wife and I spent 2 nights here in order to spend a full day in Joshua Tree National Park. A good impression right from the start as Reception was efficient, friendly and helpful. This turned out to be the case with all the staff we met, Our room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, and breakfast whilst nothing special was perfectly satisfactory. We had a little difficulty in finding the hotel in the first place as it was a lot farther west of downtown than we had expected (arriving from the east we wondered if we had missed it). This was not a problem, and indeed made it much closer to our chosen eateries than anticipated! We did not use any of the leisure facilities, but they seemed well-maintained and well used, Our priority was the National Park, and for this it served admirably as a base. A thoroughly enjoyable 2 night stay and recommended.

"great place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree"

"Poor Management"
goneadventuring2017, 28 Octobre 2017

I had to cancel my travel plans as my family and work were impacted by the fires in Northern California. I explained to the front desk staff what happened and inquired about reimbursement of my up-front payment. They put me on hold and then told me the manager said they would only reimburse on night (out of three) "out of courtesy" because of the type of rate I booked. I requested to speak with the manager and was told he was not available but would call me back. He did not call back. Because I'd like to give people an opportunity to make a compassionate choice, I called back two more times to request to speak with the manager and was promised a call-back each time. I have not received a call back; nor have I been reimbursed for one night. Instead, I just saw two additional charges on my credit card from the hotel. I now will have to call back yet again to dispute the charges. I can only attribute the failure of communication, the lack of compassion and the additional charges to poor management.

"Great hotel at the price - no complaints"
G4353JFkenneths, 24 Octobre 2017

Great hotel at the price. We have no complaints for our stay. One comment. They should have opted for the waffle maker rather than the automatic pancake maker (pancake maker makes pancakes that are "tolerable."

"A lovely surprise!"
Jacqueline H, 23 Octobre 2017

This is an excellent hotel! Friendly and helpful staff and with a great big room and unusually comfy bed we were surprised to find such a good place (given that BW is a hotel chain). Highly recommended.

"Happy Surprise"
Carol C, 23 Octobre 2017

I've been to this hotel several times over the past 10 years. It is better than ever! The room has been remodeled. It was immaculate. The shower was great and the towels were nice. The breakfast was pretty good (especially when you ask to have it reheated in the microwave). They have Greek yogurt, making me a happy camper. It's seldom that an older hotel improves, but this place has. I will definitely be back.

"Don't Stay Here Unless You're Fine With Roaches"
DaynaAlyson, 21 Octobre 2017

Everything seemed fine (room was big and clean, pool was nice) until night time when a few cockroaches came out, crawling across the carpet of our room. Cue my kids' screams. That's when I noticed all the dead roaches in the corners of the room. Disgusting. My kids want to change rooms, but in my experience, if one room has roaches, they all do, so not sure that would help. I'm not sure anyone will sleep tonight.

"nice stay"
rainbowinthesky1230, 20 Octobre 2017

we were there for two nights, wonderful stay and had a great time and they upgraded for us as nice suite with a goodies bag contained with drinking water and cookies . we booked through Best Western Official website( not third parties website, very bad experience through 3nd parties) we did lots of hiking in Joshua tree national park , breakfast was so good, all staffs are so friendly and nice, about 7 minutes drive to Uta Trails toward Joshua Tree National Park. A great location to the National Park. we will be back soon in this hotel when winter kicks in,

"Nice place for a fair price."
W6689HOmichaelm, 18 Octobre 2017

This hotel is a good price for the accommodations, outdoor pool and jacuzzi, free breakfast, single rooms and suites options, a campus feel with 4 separate buildings. The facility may be a little dated but was comfortable and the best deal in the area.

"More than expected!"
Nathan W, 17 Octobre 2017

I give this hotel five stars not because I think it's five star quality, but because it went well beyond my expectations for a hotel of its price range and rating. First of all, on a three week road trip of the Southwestern States, this was THE cheapest accommodations that we booked. This was mainly because to us Brits, Twentynine Palms looked like a dot on the map in the middle of nowhere and we expected there to be little on offer. The rooms here are reasonably large and some offer a nice view of the desert and mountains... Everything seemed ultra clean despite the hotel having been there for years. I hope the cleaner here gets paid very well!!! Microwave, fridge, iron and TV in the room, along with fast wifi speeds and a pool and laundry on site. The girl at check-in was very friendly and courteous too! A pleasant overnight stop.

"Pricey, for a decent place to stay"
8Maryann8, 17 Octobre 2017

It was a bit more than I liked and that is only because I messed up the dates. But Expedia and the Front desk at Best Western were amazing at handling my mistake. I did have to pay $$ for it though. They responded well to my request quickly of bathtub drain not draining. All the staff and facilities guy were welcoming and kind. The internet was not great and breakfast was OK. Overall it was an average stay. The price is to much for what you get for amenities.

"All the right stuff"
ERinSTL, 15 Octobre 2017

I was really impressed with this place. The front desk staff and breakfast minders were unfailingly efficient, friendly, and sincerely enthusiastic. As I was expecting to arrive eariier than planned, I called ahead to add a day at the front end of my reservation. No problem. But since the room type I had originally reserved was sold out, my entire stay was upgraded to a suite. Nice! At check-in, the desk agent was just wonderful, despite the late hour. The property is a bit sprawling and I failed to find my room after leaving the office. When I returned for more detailed orientation, she offered to take me to the room. Not necessary, and I did find it on my second try. She called the room a few minutes later to be sure everything was satisfatory. During my trip, I stayed at six different motels (National-Park-hopping), and the breakfast buffet at this place was by far the best: the best item selection, best seating area -- just, as my review title says, "the right stuff." The place is attractively landscaped and clearly well cared for (I saw people out sweeping the parking areas every morning. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, but others did, and it was neat and clean every time we passed it. I have stayed at more sumptuous lodgings with fancier moderne accoutrements, but to be honest, unless the hotel is the point of your trip, and not the surrounding attractions, the extra sumptuosity just doesn't make that much of a difference. I highly recommend it. And BTW, another Best Western we stayed at on the same trip was a close second to this one.

"Great experience"
beverly s, 11 Octobre 2017

I have no complaints about this location. The breakfast area could have been bigger but still functional The room was very comfortable and the front desk staff was exceptional. The location is close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and many restaurant choices.

"Nice Surprise In an out-of-the-way Place"
MikeB1952, 10 Octobre 2017

We visited Joshua Tree National Park and needed a place to stay nearby. 29 Palms is a pretty small place and I was worried that we wouldn't find a nice place to stay. Not to worry. The Garden Hotel is a great place to stay. The front desk was courteous and helpful finding a place to eat. The room was nice and clean. Of note, it had a large vanity by the sink and a nice sitting area. Everything was well maintained. The best thing was the breakfast. The fare was pretty common from major chain hotels - breads, egg, meat, potatoes, juices, fruit and coffee. The egg was a little frittata which was surprisingly good. Their breakfast room is a small area with half a dozen tables. Well laid out. One of the nicest things was the server coming to each table with a big smile asking if she could do anything to make our breakfast better. And she seemed genuinely interested. Nice touch.

"Clean Hotel with friendly, courteous staff"
164janej, 09 Octobre 2017

I arrived a night earlier than my reservation, and the front desk clerk was able to accomodate us in order to keep the same room over the course of our 3 night stay. We got to the room which was very clean. Breakfast each morning had a variety of choices including healthier options, as well as a couple staff members there to make iced coffee and smoothies to order. Overall, had a wonderful stay and was surprised at how friendly the staff was compared to others we had come across after leaving Texas. We were always greeted with a smile! If I ever have to return to 29P, this will be the place I stay!

"Excellent hotel in the desert"
amyx0x0, 09 Octobre 2017

The front desk and breakfast staff are super friendly and accommodating. The room was a very large, comfortable suite with a kitchen. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were very inviting after a day of travel to the desert. It's super close to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The best part was the breakfast buffet which far exceeded our expectations with lots of fresh food choices. They even asked if we wanted smoothies or iced coffee! Hope to return someday.

"great hotel near Joshua Tree NP"
FransHeijmans, 07 Octobre 2017

This Best Western is a very good place to stay near the Joshua Tree National Park. The park is only 25 miles away. Nice and big rooms, clean and with all you need. Breakfast is included and of good quality and choices.

"Highly recommend"
Tom M, 03 Octobre 2017

There's not a thing negative I can say about the he staff or the hotel. Wednesday is a guest appreciation night. The breakfasts were great. The staff was attentive and friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice.

"Value is there"
MG02116, 01 Octobre 2017

Instantly upon check in we knew we would have a positive experience--early check in after many hours in the desert sun was most appreciated. We had a tiny glitch with our original room and the front desk immediately moved us to another identical room in a different part of the hotel. They checked to make sure we were OK with things and even brought over extra pillows for the sofa bed. Everyone was pleasant, professional and helpful. The hotel decor is dated but everything was in good working order. We enjoyed the shady section near the pool and the mountain views. VALUE for your $ all the way!

"Hot dinner at check in was pleasant surprise"
Sharon P, 28 Septembre 2017

Friendly, helpful clerk at check-in. Dinner wasn't big but tasty. Breakfast was fine but didn't like someone waiting on me at continental breakfast. Pool felt good on vey hot day. Room was clean and comfortable.

"Impressed"
jbatgirl21, 25 Septembre 2017

Clean and friendly. 5 minutes from North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. The breakfast was incredible... they offered omelettes, ham, toast, pancakes, healthy yogurt Oikos, granola, fruit, smoothies, iced coffee, juice, hot coffee... probably the best breakfast (considering it was included the room price).

"Comfortable, affordable accommodation close to Joshua Tree National Park"
DavidRowland, 24 Septembre 2017

This is a straightforward, affordable hotel with well appointed, comfortable rooms close to the main northern entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. Check-in was efficient and seamless with the staff member offering useful advice on where to ear locally. Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed and the wider facilities included a pool and hot tub - perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking in the National Park. Breakfast was included and we found the staff to be extremely welcoming and helpful. There was a good range of cooked breakfasts, toast, cereals, etc - with lots of choice to suit every taste. Would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

"Good value, no complaints"
Kirre, 24 Septembre 2017

Stayed one night with a friend on our roadtip nin California. The hotel was first of all picked for it's location, but nonetheless we were very happy. Nothing to complain. When we first arrived we wondered how dark the room was, that was mainly to due with the fact that the curtains were fully closed when we arrived. Would have been more inviting if the curtains were not fully closed. The room once the curtains were opened was good size, good beds and everything worked. Had some time to spend in the pool as well in the evening. Nicely it's open untill 10 PM and of good size. Not a lot of other people around, so we got nice piece and quiet time there. The breakfast was nice, and totally exceeded our expectations. Also nice to have the possibility to enjoy it outside on a beautiful summer morning.

"Satisfied"
516sharmeenf, 22 Septembre 2017

I was barely in the hotel, I was visiting for a wedding. I was overall pretty satisfied with my experience, everything was clean and it was very quiet. I loved that breakfast went until 9. No complaints, it was a lovely location.

"Joshua Tree"
cynthiasS6893RI, 15 Septembre 2017

I do not like expedia, because of the no refund no cancel policies, but the hotel was great. Staff was friendly and experience was good. Breakfast was good, but crowed and could have served a bit longer. There were lots of small box elder bugs which got into the ice machine. Otherwise they were harmless, but annoying.

"Nice hotel, but the build up on the drive from the east"
thomasjQ505RU, 14 Septembre 2017

Yikes. We drove in from the east and the town appearance was depressing. However, arriving at the hotel, things improved. The room was very nice and the price I got on BW site was great. The staff gave a great recommendation for dinner (Twentynine Palms Inn). And what can you say about Joshua Tree NP - it is glorious.

"Dirty Pool, Stained Sheet, Good Breakfast"
Lauren O, 13 Septembre 2017

It was 100 degrees out while we were there and the pool had dirt, leaves and pubes floating in it. Bed sheet had a weird stain on it. View was the parking lot. Complimentary breakfast was extensive with great service.

"Twenty Nine Palms"
johnu399, 12 Septembre 2017

Can into town with several Marines visiting the base. The hotel was equal to the three other BWs I had used this year. Clean, neat, good breakfast, and met interesting people from other countries. Had not used the pool or exercise facilities because we were just to busy. Maybe next time.

"Price quality imbalance"
Joe B, 10 Septembre 2017

For two nights my big was $280. Rooms are far from being worth paying that much. I needed a room that had a parking space outside the door so I found this one and booked it. Probably could have gone down the street and gotten a way better deal but I had people to meet and had to get settled in. Would not stay here again at that price.

"Very good value"
J2355XUdavidl, 08 Septembre 2017

Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and professional, even helpful. Pool was nice and well-maintained. Breakfast was terrible, but that's not unexpected, given the price of the room. Overall, I'd say that it was good value.

"What you need, in the right location"
Marian V, 05 Septembre 2017

There are some kitchy places to stay in Twentynine Palms, but being unfamiliar with the area, we thought we should go with a familiar name. We were very happy with our clean large room, the friendly staff, and the good breakfast. This is a completely non-smoking property, which was a PLUS for us. We drove the Joshua Tree loop, which starts in the east and ends in the west, making this the perfect in-between location for our trip. For just a one-nighter, we thought we got a deal, so we signed up for the Best Western awards and plan to return. Thanks to the friendly folks here!

"Wonderful stay!!!"
Angela H, 31 Août 2017

The staff here is so welcoming! The room was awesome and the breakfast was fantastic. Stay here for sure! It is close to Joshua Tree national park and the Rib Co restaurant was really close and had wonderful food.

"Great Pool/Spa area"
Patrick G, 31 Août 2017

I have stayed at this hotel many times. The Pool/Spa area is a great place to meet new people, or just hang out and enjoy the pool or hot tub. The hotel staff is very pleasant and eager to help with any concerns.

"Beware of the trap!"
Daniel C, 29 Août 2017

This hotel is more interested in grabbing your money than earning your business. Beware of the "no cancel, no change reservations" don't expect a manager to call you back when they say they will. Buyer beware

"Thank you"
josetB9440SP, 27 Août 2017

Night shift attendant was very helpful. The breakfast was not that bad either. Little too expensive but overall not a bad stay. Would do it again. The laundry was very expensive. Apperiance of the hotel on the outside looked cleaned. The pool area also looked cleaned.

"really really good"
heathermcg2016, 26 Août 2017

from check in with a very friendly lady who then rung the room to make sure all was well, cold juice at the front desk, good business centre, helpful maps and tips of the area. Room was good clean and well serviced, breakfast was really amazing, they just kept topping it up and a huge selection.

"Great Place to Stay!"
SeemaTiwari, 18 Août 2017

Hubby was attending meteorite/Milky Way photo workshop at Joshua Tree National Park. We stayed Friday to Sunday. Amazing place. Very friendly staff, good breakfast ( made-to-order smoothies as well) by a very caring staff. Personally watched them take great care of kids. Kudos to them. Nice, clean and quiet place. Enjoyed our stay and very close to the supermarket and great places to eat!

"Good place to stay!"
Shadowe10, 13 Août 2017

I stayed here one night on my way north. Erika at the front desk made me want to stay longer. After a horrendous drive from Los Angeles, her smile and warm welcome made me relax. The room was spacious and comfortable, very clean, all amenities provided, just what I needed to unwind. I would definitely recommended this place if you want peace and quiet and a welcoming staff.

"Excellent Choice"
russellc563, 13 Août 2017

The staff was exceptional from arrival through checkout. The room was clean and very comfortable. Air Conditioning was great. Pool was clean and comfortable especially on 107 degree day. Best price around for great room.

"The employees here are the best"
LizzyB01, 09 Août 2017

You can see it's a good manager with their employees as they are soooo kind. They offered us free Dinner on the Wed night and it was delicious Lasagna and Beer! The morning it wasn't the normal BW breakfast... no, they made Omelets and Smoothies and Ice Coffee! so very nice, and we really would recommend staying here if you're in the area.

"good service"
I7895UAvanessat, 09 Août 2017

Great hotel. Room was very neat and clean. Loved the room decor. Wi-fi was great. Loved the express check out. The staff was great. I was able to check in within 5 minutes and my room was on the first floor which made it easy to find.

"Caring Employees"
erikaaZ3597AD, 07 Août 2017

The employees at Best Western were so kind! When I got a flat tire in the parking lot the maintenance men all came out to help me change the tire, despite the heat. That day had the potential of being terrible, however, with the help of the Best Western employees I had a great trip. I could not thank them enough.

"ok hotel"
370howardc, 07 Août 2017

Hotel was clean. Rooms were noisy. No wheelchair entrance into hotel lobby. Room where breakfast was held was too small. Not room for a wheelchair. Front of hotel under construction. It was ok for sleeping and swimming. Beds were comfortable. Good location to our family event for the weekend.

"Great option in 29 Palms"
watson313, 06 Août 2017

We stayed here as a group prior to our day hike @ Joshua Tree National Park. The location is close to the park entrance. The staff at check-in presented us with the services available and staff in the breakfast area were quite courteous, welcoming. The express checkout option was a blessing.

"Awesome Place to Stay"
melanieachavez, 01 Août 2017

Check in was prompt and courteous. We opted for King room with the bathtub and were pleasantly surprised that the room and bathroom were quite spacious. Air conditioner worked well and the bed was comfy. Breakfast the next morning was great! Eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage and an assortment of cereals and other goodies. Would have given 5 stars except that the pool is pretty small, it was the only draw back. Everything else was superb.

"The Oldun in Joshua Tree"
The0ldun, 29 Juillet 2017

An excellent Hotel at the North east entrance to Joshua Tree NP. We had a 2 room suite with cooking facilities. We did not use the cooking facilities. The separate Bedroom had it's own air conditioning unit, this was useful with the outide temperature over 100 F. The Hotel had a shded relaxing area and a Swimming Pool with shaded area.

"Excellent Hotel"
Kevin W, 26 Juillet 2017

Excellent! I stay at a lot of Best Westerns, and this one by far is the best! Great breakfast, excellent room, ample parking, very friendly staff. I've stay at this hotel on three previous occasions and each time I've had a wonderful experience!

"Best Free Breakfast Hosts Ever"
78lancel, 25 Juillet 2017

The entrance near the front desk/lobby was undergoing remodeling at the time of the visit, but it did not affect the stay. The rooms were clean and inviting. The pool area was clean and refreshing after a day exploring in the desert heat. The free breakfast bar deserves special mention. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the last 20 or so years and the service provided by the two young ladies are a model of what the free breakfast bar experience should be, particularly the young black lady. The breakfast area was kept clean, tidy, and well stocked. We were asked on more than one occasion if everything was OK. While most of the food was average breakfast fare, iced coffee and free berry smoothies prepared by the breakfast hosts stood out. Other hotels with free breakfast bars should use this location as a model for the kind of quality, friendly service that is possible. It definitely provides a pleasant experience as one gets ready to check out! Kudos!

"Nice, clean, great breakfast"
arikst, 24 Juillet 2017

The hotel was perferct for a short stay near the desert parks on the way to Las Vegas. Rooms are large and kept clean with all needed amenities. The pool was nice place to relax at the end of the day witj the desert around. Breakfast was great, the staff was very friendly and offered free smoothies and frappuccinos.....

"Great price for nice accommodations only a short drive from Joshua Tree "
Stephanie G, 17 Juillet 2017

Stayed here 1 night while exploring the town of Joshua Tree before camping a few nights in the park. The price was great (we paid $90 for a queen bed room on a Saturday night), the room was big, clean, and well stocked. The pool area is nice and big, with a shaded area. Breakfast was really great - eggs, sausage, omelletes, smoothies, etc. The staff was exceptionally friendly. It's about a 20-30 min drive from the town of Joshua Tree, but a shorter drive to get to the North entrance of JT Natl Park.

"Very Good Hotel"
cheerzeazyd, 15 Juillet 2017

Very clean hotel with spacious rooms and the all important air conditioning. Just of the main road so easy to find . You will need to drive if you want something to eat and drink and it's about a mile or so away.

"Bob's review"
bobndar69, 14 Juillet 2017

This is a very nice hotel very close to the west entrance to the park. The are a large variety of restaurants to chose your next meal. The hotel breakfast was excellent and staff right there to assist you if you needed help. They served egg omlets the day we stayed along with a variety of cereals, muffins and toast along with coffee, tea and juices

"An oasis near Joshua Tree NP"
SueBirk, 12 Juillet 2017

My husband and I spent one night as we visited the national park. We came in the off season-- it was hot! and were upgraded from a king room to a king suite, which was very welcome. The suite had a kitchenette and sitting area separate from the bedroom. Very nice! The staff was nice, the room was clean, and I was grateful for the on-site laundry facilities (a bit pricey at $2.50 each for washer and dryer). As it slowly cooled down, we stuck our feet in the pool and watched the sky darken. Sweet.

"Super service"
JakobNors, 11 Juillet 2017

For our family trip this was a perfect place to stay for one night. We were actually sorry that we only had one night. All the staff was helpful and serviceminded in a way we have never experienced before - good job! Upon arrival we were offered free dinner (chicken, potato salad and beans). Not "haute cuisine" but it tasted good and definately a nice gesture. We had breakfast included and wasn't expecting much based on previous experiences, but to our surprise we were offered strawberry smoothies and iced coffee besides the standard toast, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Again, a surprisingly good service to make the guests feel welcome and appreciated. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

"Great for Joshua Tree"
CareyNorthampton, 11 Juillet 2017

Friendly staff, and a free buffet on Wednesday evening which was very welcome. We stayed as a couple sharing with our adult daughter, plenty of space for three of us and good to swim in the pool once the sun went down

"Great place to stay in Joshua Tree"

Clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay near Joshua Tree National Park. Nice pool and jacuzzi. The staff were friendly and offered recommendations for local dining and attractions. Free breakfast included.

"Great stay"
Laurie B, 08 Juillet 2017

Great location and staff. Wonderful service upon check in and check out. Will definitely come back. Breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices. Rooms were spacious and love the large Tv's. Pool area was fun with the large BBQ grills and fire pit. Definitely the best place in town and can't wait to come back.

"Best Wester Joshua Tree"
isabelravaccinir, 05 Juillet 2017

The entire visit was really nice. The grounds were well kept and the pool area and breakfast areas were also well kept. For a Best Western level hotel in the location, we were visiting it was an overall nice experience.

"Great Deal for an Excellent Price"

Nice people, the staff was cheerful and pleasant. The room was nice with a microwave and a refrigerator. Good breakfast included, very nice pool. Good place to stay for a good price. Lots of parking too.

"THIS HOTEL IS TERRIBLE"
U8241IRmikew, 30 Juin 2017

Checked in, went to room which had weeds and cracked concrete and was separate building from other rooms. this was a row of rooms of about 8 - very strange and very secluded which was creepy. did my normal first check for bed bugs and the found the mattresses were not encased and the mattress cover that was on it was all shredded. 2 bad signs right away... Glanced over and behind the night stand between the 2 beds it was absolutely filthy with dirt and stuff.... Gross - gross - gross. Immediatley went back to get a refund and move to the clean Holiday Inn down the street and they would not refund my money. Only offered us to be moved to another room. they said the 3rd party I booked thru had to be the ones to refund but when I called the 3rd party they said it was up to the hotel. I argued with them for over an hour and finally got 1 night refunded. Understand this was not a cheap hotel - over $350 for 2 nights. No way could we stay there after seeing how the property outside the check in office was maintained. We went down the street to a wonderful Holiday Inn and was treated like royalty. they even gave us a huge discount ...and they had wonderful clean rooms. Don't stay here! working thru credit card company to try and get my other night refunded.

"Best in 29 Palms"
Laura M, 29 Juin 2017

My go to for guest visiting. They raved as I expected they would about the place. Breakfast lady was even making little smoothies! Great value! You can even get over sized rooms. Landscaping & pool area beautiful. Very convenient quiet location.

"Best Western Gardens Hotel at Joshua Tree National Park"
K5769ZKjamesb, 27 Juin 2017

I spend 250 plus days per year as a traveling service technician, most always at Best Westerns. So I'm extremely familiar with this franchise. This Best Western in 29 Palms Gardens Hotel at Joshua Tree National Park is exceptional! The front desk staff are very friendly, helpful, and well trained. The maid service it top notch. The rooms always clean, and I mean clean! The bed was very comfortable. I slept well! The pool and grounds are well maintained. I used the laundry facilities. The washer and dryer was clean. I always look forward to staying at this hotel when I come to see mom!!

"Thoroughly Enjoyable"
SMOREY, 26 Juin 2017

A little late with my review for 3 day weekend stay in April; but wanted to say how much we enjoyed the Best Western Gardens. Our double bed room was as pictured; nicely decorated, on upper floor with an interior corridor access . Both the front desk and breakfast room staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good and varied. However the breakfast room was compact, so there was spillover outside. The seating at pool was not off the breakfast room as the pictures on website seemed to indicate. A suggestion is to build a small desk off breakfast room to accommodate guests who need and like to dine outside. The Inn is located at the edge of town. It was very easy to visit Joshua Tree, which we did all three days. We reccomend the Best Western based on our stay. which was thoroughly enjoyable.

"Great hotel and friendly staff"
Liz-van-Egteren, 26 Juin 2017

We stayed at this Best Western on our Death Valley road trip. Ashley was on duty at the front desk when we checked in. She was so helpful in answering our questions and was so delightful! Thank you for everything. Oh, the little breakfast room was hopping busy and the food was very enjoyable!

"Great service"
thomaswilliamc2017, 25 Juin 2017

The staff at the BW 29 Palms is outstanding! The rooms were clean, internet was great and we loved the pool. The hotel is a definite diamond in the rough during a very hot week in the California Desert!

"Awesome stay!"
tammywK6736WW, 20 Juin 2017

We has a fabulous stay at the Best Western Gardens Hotel in 29 Palms. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The whole family left with some wonderful memories. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting 29 Palms..

"Great hotel"
thomashT3355GQ, 17 Juin 2017

We called in to get a room whilst travelling across the USA friendly staff, fair price all made for a pleasant stay. No evening food so go down the road for ribs, you won't be disappointed, the receptionist offered plenty of places to eat.

"Great stay"
Angela S, 12 Juin 2017

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend to see a friend at the USMC base. We thought the hotel was perfect for what we were after. Comfortable bed, nice decor, we swam in the pool and used the hot tub and we were pleasantly surprised with breakfast! Probably one of the best breakfasts we've had. (Great variety!) we would stay again!

"In the High Desert"
257cassandrae, 30 Mai 2017

The staff was helpful and polite. The room was comfortable and met my needs for this trip. The hotel was easy to find as was the room in which I stayed. Everything was clean and neat. I felt comfortable and safe, as a single woman, staying in a grand level room.

"Awesome hotel"
robertsE2184UK, 30 Mai 2017

My family and I really enjoyed the hotel. Everything and everyone was above our expectation and we are already planning our return visit and going to stay there again. The location couldn't be any better

"Good stay, great staff"
Thehungrytraveller99, 27 Mai 2017

Property well maintained, fast free WiFi. Free breakfast was very good. Better than usual. Staff was very friendly , and helpful. Room air conditioner kept shutting down. Was working intermittently. Room was warmer than I would have preferred. Had to sleep without bedding. I had a busy week so in all fairness to the hotel, I didn't have time to address it. Judging by the overall upkeep of the property and professionalism of the staff, I'm certain it would have been addressed in a timely manner.

"Nicely done!"
Iasa001, 23 Mai 2017

I love the big king bed with all the pillows and the double drapes that can black out the room so you can't tell whether it's day or night. Makes sleeping in such a pleasure! Plus breakfast is served until 10 o'clock!

"Contact in the desert"
Randy C, 23 Mai 2017

We really enjoyed the service and cleanliness of the room and the pool. The breakfast was outstanding. They even had breakfast smoothies. The staff was very helpful with all of our questions and directions to some of the most beautiful sites in Joshua Tree National Park

"Just right for the price"
Susan M, 16 Mai 2017

The room exceeded my expectations for the price. I paid $115 including taxes and fees. Was surprised to find out that I could get a lower rate with Expedia than Best Western, which I am a member. The room was moderately spacious and clean. It had a fridge, microwave and free Wifi, The bed was comfortable and furniture was in good condition, The sink was between the bathroom and bedroom. The room had a large desk with a lamp that had an outlet for electronic plugins for computers, etc. There were even germ-protector covers on the tv remote. I was happy there was an easy chair with a stool for feet. Upon arrival, the maid left an open, empty tissue box by the sink. The rug was a little worn by the door. I booked a room for a single. There was not a table if I wanted someone to join me for a meal . I had a great, free breakfast including real blueberries and strawberries, not just jam. Also had sausage and bacon, plus much more. I had a room toward the back of the property that was quiet with no road noise. I cannot say enough about how friendly and welcoming the staff is, especially at the front desk. They also helped to get me a room where the door was close to my car because of my physical limitations I have stayed at three other hotel/motels in 29 Palms and I think this Best Western offered the best value for my money on the weekend, I would stay at this place again if the price is the same.

"Wednesday Night was a Great Surprise!"
Andrew H, 10 Mai 2017

We arrived Wednesday to discover the BW offers free dinner and drinks (wine and beer) every Wednesday night. - Awesome ! Thursday night we went to Rib & Co for dinner. Awesome too! Our full rack of ribs was ginormous. We put our leftovers in our room's fridge. Friday night. We stopped at the grocery store located just 1 block from the hotel, and picked up a couple of side dishes and beer. We then used the hotel's BBQ at the pool to reheat our ribs. (Tip to the wise: ask the front desk to borrow the BBQ tools so you don't burn your fingers). Great vacation.

"MARINES RETURNING - WATCH OUT FOR RATE INCREASE - WE PAID $447.22 NOT WORTH IT!!"
Donna B, 09 Mai 2017

Upon being given the exact dates which our Marine would return from deployment only weeks before his return, we jumped online to check for hotel rooms at 29 Palms near the Marine Base. We noted the price of the room seemed excessive but figured 29 Palms is small and hotels in area became aware of Marines returning so prices went up. The room rate was $447.22 which seemed excessive however we felt we had not choice. As the Marines didn't get in until late in the morning, by the time we grabbed our son's personal belongings and arrived at the hotel it was 4:00 AM. At the time of checking in we mentioned we were there for Marine homecoming and asked if they would work with us on the price because of such late arrival and because it became all the more apparent this hotel was no more than a Super 8 or a Motel 6. The clerk said she was not able to and to check back when we checked out with a hotel manager. By 9:00 the next AM, we were checking out of hotel and we inquired again. The hotel manager then came out front and said because we had booked through Expedia there was nothing she could do about the price. Upon arriving back home, we called Expedia and explained our situation and just inquired if they would be willing to work with us on the price. We were certainly willing to pay something but especially as I said above, after staying at the hotel, the hotel is not worth anywhere near $447.22/night and given our late arrival and departure we were hopeful something could possibly be done. Anne of Expedia was very helpful. She said they understood the situation and they would talk with Hotel and it would be up to hotel to issue any sort of refund. Anne spoke to the hotel and they were not willing to do anything. I then called the hotel myself and spoke to Amra Webster. I told him I felt they were price gouging on the room especially being told by the front desk upon checkout that an average rate was no more than $145.00. According to Mr. Webster the reason the prices were so high was because of Coachella (which we found strange as 29 Palms is not really THAT close to those events and the fact we had stayed at the Desert Springs Villas the very next night which was right next to Coachella for 99.00/night and while Coachella was still going on) - anyhow he went on to say the hotel had high respect for the Marines at 29 Palms and the rate for Marines is typically $92.00/night. I told him Expedia was willing to work with us on the room rate given the reasons stated above. He tried to say his hotel could not do anything because Expedia would not let them. Expedia was very clear they would do anything but the Best Western (Amra Webster) had to agree to it. We went back and forth and I did not get anywhere with him. He said he would talk to Expedia himself. The next day Anne of Expedia called me back and said the hotel was willing to reimburse us $48.75 - why that amount we have no idea. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. He knew WHY we were at 29 Palms, he also knew of our late arrival and early departure. The Marines and their families seemed to mean little to him and his reluctance to do anything but reimburse us $48.75 was a slap in the face. We certainly didn't expect the room for free. We do however believe $447.22 for a standard double room at the Best Western is more than price gouging. We strongly believe they became aware of Marines coming in and rooms would be in high demand and therefore they adjusted their prices. IF it were because of Coachella, they why after Mr. Webster learning of the facts was he so unwilling to reimburse us more than a mere $48.00. As I stated we certainly would not expect the room for free but we would expect a hotel so close the Marine Base could do something more. Expedia, on the other hand, felt too that the Best Western could have acted better in their response to our request. Expedia reimbursed us $200.00. It wasn't at all as Amra Webster was indicating. Aside from the excessive amount charged, this hotel is run down, smells on the inside and very old. I spoke to the manager of a Best Western at Yucca Valley and just wanted to get her thoughts on what we encountered. She too said they could have and frankly should have given their proximity to the base. She said there is always a way to be accommodating but this is a choice and their response frankly says it all. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone for obvious reasons.

"Best Western at Joshua Tree Ca"
fernandomT4396BH, 09 Mai 2017

Our stay at Best Western in Joshua Tree was excelllent. Staff was great. The breakfast staff were very courteous and attentive. Food selection was very good. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Picnic tables and grill access was a plus.

"Great value hotel."
Brent H, 03 Mai 2017

I've stayed here twice and both times were very nice. Staff was very professional and facility is clearly well-managed. I have high standards for hotels but I have no complaints about this hotel. Rooms have been clean, quiet, and comfortable.

"Pleasant surprise. It should be 3 star."
Michelle E, 29 Avril 2017

This place exceeded my expectations. My room was clean and looked up to date inside. Breakfast was just ok. The flavored creamer was empty.I was really hoping they had the biscuits and gravy that the Best Western in Yucca Valley had. Maybe the cooks can get together. Lol. Very close to the entrance of Joshua Tree and on this side nobody collects money so we got in free. They were collected at the exit to Indio but we just turned around instead of going out. I would say 3 star hotel. There are a couple newer much more expensive ones in Twentynine Palms but not I like the value and quality of this place.

"Welcoming and Warm"
tanyamb2017, 28 Avril 2017

Great stay here! Staff was welcoming and warm. Rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. We were in town for a wedding. Honestly I wasn't expecting such a wonderful stay. We booked last minute at a really great rate. So glad we did!

"Okay"
lorrib18, 27 Avril 2017

The room was most definitely outdated but was large in size. Kids on the upper floor were running back and forth at different times of the night. Suggested to the congerie that they should have kids on lower floors to eliminate the noise problem. They said that I should have reported the noise problem. Not my style to complain but in hind sight I probably should have.

"Good stay"

Pleasant stay!! Hotel staff was nice . Breakfast delicious.. clean room . Wednesday they had guest appreciation night complimentary dinner was delicious..props to the chef . Had pasta and salad. Overall very good.

"Visiting Joshua tree with family"
Traveler_bl, 25 Avril 2017

Came here with the family for a visit to the National park. On this side of the park there are basically three towns to choose from west to east - Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and 29 Palms. It's about 30 minutes or so to get from somewhere in Yucca Valley to 29 palms via the main road. The 29 palms park entrance is further east of the hotel, but considerably less crowded than the Joshua Tree entrance. There are different places to see, so depending on which entrance you will be closer or farther from things in the park. In general this was a good location for our park visit. The hotel itself is located on the western outskirts of the "city" of 29 Palms. It is right up the hill from a small strip mall with a supermarket. It is walkable, but not really a short walk. We arrived shortly before 3pm, and were told that we could not check in until 3pm or later. While I get that this is hotel policy, this is probably the first time I have ever arrived in the afternoon somewhere and not had a room available (especially when check out is at noon). We went to the visitor's center and came back later in the afternoon. Oddly the room was still needing to be "checked" by their room inspector at close to 4pm, so just be prepared especially if the hotel is busy. They have coffee, tea, and sometimes lemonade in the lobby with some cookies, which was nice while we waited for the room. I had asked for a room as others suggested by the pool, but they told me that they were all booked. While disappointed, I understand that the hotel was busy. Our room faced the main road, and although I was initially concerned, it ended up being fine. My kids slept on the sofa bed of our suite room, and they easily slept with the trucks and other cars speeding by on the main road at 55mph plus. The suites come with a small kitchen, and one of those small refrigerators with a tiny internal freezer. For a small kitchen it has a good amount of cooking utensils and pans, so you could cook some meals for the family. We had some frozen pizza from the local supermarket, but the only issue was that the refrigerator/freezer really could not store the frozen pizza (and we had to figure out a way to cook it too). In the end we figure out a way to do it. If you make something on the stove top (like pasta), it would be a lot easier. I suppose I should have just thought about food that we could cook at a campsite, which would have been the more logical thing to do. By the way for those who care, all the rooms open externally. In this locale, I think that it really doesn't matter. The breakfast is served in the same building as the lobby. It starts at 5:30. They have eggs/bacon or sausage, and some potato (hash browns, etc), in a buffet server. You don't really get a choice, you get whatever is being served, and it's fine. They also have a pancake machine that is a big box. You press a button and pancakes are made and dispensed off a conveyor belt out the side of the machine. They have cereal and oatmeal (instant). Coffee from a machine (it's weak but included), and juices. They also have yogurt, hard boiled eggs, milk, and whip cream (from a dispensing can) for the pancakes. We would have liked some waffles, but so be it. The breakfast room is small and its hard to sometimes get seats. The service area also is small and can get crowded as well. The air conditioners are also blowing on some of the tables which is ok, but not pleasant. In the end, for this level hotel, in this location, the breakfast was good, and I am not sure they can do that much more given the space constraints of the place. The pool is basically in the center of the property. You have to walk across parking lots or whatever to get there depending on where your room is. Something that they clearly do not seem to tell their visitors is that they have towels for the pool at the front desk. When we were using the pool, multiple other guests did not know that there were towels there. If I had not seen someone else asking when I checked in, I probably would have figure it out by accident by asking the front desk for towels. It's odd, but again not a big deal. No one at the pool seemed to be complaining. The pool is a rectangle, and nothing overly special. It was pleasantly warm, but also littered with dead or dying insects. Honestly, the entire front of my car had lots of dead insects that had flown into my car while I was driving along, so I am not surprised at the number in the pool. What they could do, is either get someone to skim the pool every hour our two, or provide a skimmer so that guests (i.e. Parents of kids who do not like bugs) can skim the pool. I had a pool and I know how a pool works. Insects and debris land in the pool all the time. With my kids in the pool, I manually drove 80% of the insects toward and into the filtration systems located at 3 points in the pool. It would have been a lot easier with a skimming basket, but so be it. The hot tub was nice an hot and good for after your hikes in the park. There is no shade cover over the pool or hot tub, but one covered area outside of the pool (that has the bathrooms and the tiny fitness room). We did not use the fitness room, but it is as you would expect for a property like this one (small with not a lot of equipment). Honestly, just go to the national park and hike your calories off!, it's a lot nicer than working out in a tiny hotel fitness room. All in all we liked our trip to the area. The room was spacious and a good value. The pool was nice, but could use a way to get the bugs out. It would be great if breakfast could be better or have more seating, and check in could have been faster or smoother. Honestly though given the choices in the area, I think that it may be hard to do significantly better and be close to the park entrance.

"We've stayed here twice and enjoyed the stay both times. The location isn't in the heart of Twentynine Palms, a bummer"
danmcmartin, 21 Avril 2017

We've stayed here twice and enjoyed the stay both times. The location isn't in the heart of Twentynine Palms but you're closer to Yucca Valley with more dining choices so a nice trade off. It is still convenient to Joshua Tree National Park and the USMC base. The staff was friendly and our room was clean. The bed was comfortable enough and the air conditioner worked well. It even had the option to leave the fan on all night which allows you to drown out noise. The rooms are big and there are plenty of places to charge your devices. The pool and hot tub aren't especially big but they are in a secluded location away from the highway with a covered sitting area to boot. The only bad was we had a progressively worsening odor coming from our sink. It was never too bad but smelled like the trap needed to be cleaned. We informed the staff when we checked out. We'd stay here again but there are other choices that are nice as well. It depends on price.

"best western"
138jeffreyj, 21 Avril 2017

Felt like Marine families were FLEECED that homecoming weekend at 220/rm. We stayed at Double Tree-Hilton in Anaheim for 120/rm and it had WAY MORE AMENITIES! The breakfast was great, rooms very comfortable and quiet, location was excellent to 29 Palms base but the PRICE was outrageous!!!!!

"Decent motel"
Bruno_Lombard, 16 Avril 2017

We stayed there for two nights while doing Joshua National Tree Park. The staff is friendly, breakfast is included, you can get eggs, bacon, pancakes and the usual cereals, coffee etc... the room are a little old and smell like it but it's tolerable. There is a flat TV set in the room, a fridge and a micro wave as well as an ironing board and blow dryer.

"Family trip"
tracyhN939MK, 15 Avril 2017

Very nice hotel with a large room. Nice pool, good breakfast. Very convenient to Joshua Tree. I would stay here again. On wednesdays the welcome dinner (chilli and salad) was nice. The staff was very friendly.

"Mediocre Hotel - Excellent Customer Service"
MRKTYZ, 14 Avril 2017

You can't blame the staff for the mediocrity of the hotel building or its rooms. We got a deal on Hotwire for $85/night excluding taxes. This is only our third time staying in a BW. We spent our days exploring JTNP. Cons: Room walls very thin (we had a hard time staying asleep as we heard conversations and what sounded like people moving furniture) Room interior structure needs update (paint peeling, large chunk of molding chipped off) Bathroom smelled horrible (sewer smells coming from the toilet) Pros: Customer Service is a highlight. Especially Destynee and Kazne who worked in the breakfast room. Thank you for your kindness and patience! We would only return if we got a similar deal per night.

"Nice Hotel and Staff"
T3930PSrobinl, 13 Avril 2017

Nice hotel and staff. Room very clean. Pool area very clean, as well as the grounds. Free parking. Too pricey I feel for the area, but not many hotels in the area so guess they can charge higher rates.

"Apparewntly the left hand doesn't know wht the right hand is doing"
GrandCanuck, 10 Avril 2017

Although the staff member chicking us in was overly sweet (to the pont of being less than sincere) to our requesat for early checking, in our groups opinion t=this wasn't't handled properly. Also, we were advised of breakfast hours and it is written on the card handed out at checkin, at the appointed time the following morning, we were told that we were a half hour early

"One night stay on the road to Long Beach, Ca"
David D, 06 Avril 2017

This hotel outside of Joshua Tree NP served as a stopping point before heading to Long Beach, CA. The hotel staff were friendly, the pool area not used during this trip looked nice. The overall vibe, was a little dated and not grounds around the facility needing some attention. The real negative was the breakfast, I would skip and just head to Micky D's, so that value was lost. I would consider staying again since the price was ok but not great. Price would drive any future stay.

"very nice in the desert"
wilbur2013, 05 Avril 2017

Very nice and comfortable hotel, convenient location to Joshua Tree NP. Serve a good breakfast but breakfast room is very small and does get crowded. Very good quality towels and linens, overall very satisfied with this hotel

"Another night's stay @ 29 Palms."
Dana D, 04 Avril 2017

Enjoyed the dinner meal that the manager provided as a statement of "Customer Appreciation". The pool was clear and barely warm but we enjoyed it overall. When revisiting the area we'll book another night at the BW @ 29 Palms.

"A Hotel with EQ"
choonhongm, 31 Mars 2017

Your check-out staff were proficient but seemed to lack the EQ I had experienced throughout my stay! I was greeted at Registration with the courtesy that was expected. However, what I did not expect was the extra service that I received from your Trainee Bridget, who was the one who actually sold me the reason to stay at the hotel! Dawn, the Registration clerk was very proficient as well and very polite and friendly and showed us respect throughout the Registration process! Like Bridget, they both had EQ which many hotel staff seem to lack especially when we were coming from Las Vegas, supposedly the "hospitality capital of the world"! Do not believe it - they need a major revamping of Customer Service in their industry there! Amra, who also served us at the Appreciation dinner was most courteous and we noticed works very hard at his job preparing, serving, and cleaning up after! We were pleased that we also met Rakesh, the hotel's GM who happened to be there in the dining room with us and I initiated the interaction by stating that we would feel much better if the hotel staff were socializing with us while we were there...and not leave us to ourselves...show us how appreciative they would be during Guest Appreciation Dinner by being there with us and keeping us company! Housekeeper, Petra, was also precious and had great EQ! She went the extra mile just as Bridget did at check-in! Altogether, a very pleasant stay and we will return!

"Nice little motel at the top of the hill"
112vasum, 24 Novembre 2016

Friendly staff and a very clean hotel. This might be the best Best Western's we have stayed in.Dawn and the other managers are very courteous and go out of they way to make you stay comfortable. Location is close to the National Park.

"Not special but comfortable"
BrisbaneNewDad, 21 Novembre 2016

The room was comfortable and the property and grounds kept clean. The wifi worked very well. Outdoor access to rooms but in desert weather that was fine. Value for money when visiting the desert area. No complaints

"Nice hotel, great for visiting Josua's Tree National Park"
Miguel S, 15 Novembre 2016

Nice bedrooms, clean and confortable. Great breakfast and conditions. The staff is very efficient and nice. The space has a small swiming pool and is very well located, near good restaurants (must try RibCo), gas station and not far from the Joshua's Tree National Park

"Good, if a bit pricey."
tuesdave, 14 Novembre 2016

Perfectly nice room: attractive and comfortable. The breakfast included in the price was very well prepared and there seemed to be plenty of food for everyone. We ate fairly early in the morning and it wasn't too crowded. The breakfast room isn't that big, though, and might get crowded when the hotel is busy. Granted there aren't too many lodging choices in the area, but the price still seemed rather steep for a basic hotel room.

"Friendly welcome by staff"
kcorn555, 08 Novembre 2016

We spent one night there on the first day of our national parks road trip. The staff were friendly, and gave a great recommendation for a delicious meal (and discount) at the nearby The Rib Co. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included. It was mainly continental but pancakes (or was it waffles?...) were cooked to order. This was our first week ever in the US and we were really surprised at the use of disposable crockery and cutlery in the dining rooms at hotels - it seems so wasteful and degrades the dining experience. Not sure if it was drought related but it was was the norm in the many states we visited.

"Great Value"
Gina L, 31 Octobre 2016

- Really enjoyed the breakfast (freshly made waffle, bacon, eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt...) - Room was clean, quiet and does not smell when I checked in - Bed was very comfortable - Friendly services - Great value for budget travelers

"Great Place"
Carl L, 28 Octobre 2016

Whenever we travel through 29 Palms we stay at BW Gardens Hotel and have never been disappointed. The grounds are lovely, the room comfortable and clean, and the staff always friendly and welcoming. A great place to use as a base to visit Joshua Tree.

"Much better than expected"
debenfl, 27 Octobre 2016

Upon arrival we were given a room in the back building, At first we kind of questioned it but were happy because it was so quiet - no highway noise and a nice view out to the desert. The beds were comfortable, with adaquate # of pillows(i like lots!) The A/C worked. The service staff were helpful. The breakfast room, while small had very good offerings and the staff was awesome, preparing waffles and smoothies to order & with a smile!. Honestly, this was the best BW breakfast room that we have ever experienced over the years!! Kudos to them!!. They should be recognized for their great service to BW customers! The few downsides: Unable to use TV remote unless you stood up due to equipment positioning. Internet was very spotty(but this was vacation so ok) A few spots in the room evidently missed by cleaning crew (ex: coffee tray was dirty) and there was a lack of adequate hand towels - they had run out. Running out of linens at hotels is a pet peeve of mine, but it happens even in 5 star hotels that I have stayed at so can not ding them too much for this. We were offered extra washcloths/towels to make up for this. The bed was triple sheeted which I love, but the sheets were just a bit on the dingy side. the towels however, were snowy white. The grounds were very nicely maintained. All in all we enjoyed our experience at this property.

"Wedding stay"
554geraldr, 24 Octobre 2016

I am from S.C. and stayed here for my son's wedding in the area. The hotel was comfortable and quite. Good breakfast and very friendly staff made my stay enjoyable. I would recommend staying here when in the area.

"It's a Best Western."
Airika2011, 19 Octobre 2016

If you've stayed in Best Westerns before there aren't going to be any real surprises here. The room was clean and a decent size. Bed was comfortable but could have used more pillows. My husband felt the girl at the front desk was terribly rude but I never dealt with her so I can't say. Breakfast was pretty sad. Hot stuff was cold, cold stuff was warm. Decent value if you're just apssing through for a night or two.

"Easy Start to CA National Park Adventure"
NKCGuy, 16 Octobre 2016

We slipped into Twentynine Palms from Las Vegas via Mohave Desert National Monument. Our room was well appointed with easy access to pool and ice machine. We had easy access to Joshua Tree National Park. We were disappointed with the breakfast offering. The selection of items was alright but the hot foods were served cold. The young women serving breakfast was pleasant but no great microwaver. All in all worth a stay if we are in the area again.

"An upgrade from most Best Westerns"
Forrest L, 15 Octobre 2016

Very comfortable place to stay in the Joshua Tree National Park area with a great Pool, Hot Tub and clean modern rooms. And an excellent buffet breakfast with cereals, fruit, scrambled eggs/bacon or sausage and waffles made to order by the hostess. Very attentive staff and the layout of the site was much more inviting than the other Hotels we passed by on 29 Palms Highway.

"NOT AT ALL CLOSE TO THE EMPIRE POLO CLUB"
Paula R, 12 Octobre 2016

Hotel was what you would expect from Best Western. The staff was very good. However, if you think this is close enough to the Empire Polo Grounds, think again! You are in the "high Desert" which means your going to be driving through mountain passes very late at night. NOT FUN. We paid in advance for our stay-with no chance of a rebate of our money and we still chose to leave and get a hotel closer- for a lot more $$- but def worth the move.

"Good place for overnight stay when visiting the National park"
gomerpyle, 01 Octobre 2016

Nice friendly check-in. Room was spacious and clean. Nice comfy bed, and good assortment of pillows. I wish they would upgrade their shampoo/soap choice--definitely low-end Chinese made toiletries--which smell chemically artificial. Having stayed at many BW's I know there are better choices available. Breakfast was your typical BW fare--set up in a separate room right around the corner from the lobby.

"Place to stay while at Joshua Tree National Park"
Thomas H, 30 Septembre 2016

The hotel provided a welcome bag upon arrival, with a cookie, water bottle, and info on local merchants. Nothing fancy, but a pleasant surprise. The hotel had a pleasant exterior decor that was fitting for the area, and not just your normal hotel architectural style. Room amenities were not fancy, but more than would be expected for the price. Overall a great value.

"5:32"
judithg712, 27 Septembre 2016

This was more than I expected and wished I could have hung out to just enjoy the hotel. I was able to spread out all over the room, take a jacuzzi and watch TV from the tub, Coffee in the morning doing the same with the morning news was such a luxury.

"Great"
Jean-Philippe M, 12 Septembre 2016

Great hotel. Quite and clean. Very good location. Ideal to vsit Josuah Tree national Park. Breakfast could be better but the hotel price was very OK for the quality of room. I would recommand to a friend.

"Quick Stay"
Lauren R, 07 Septembre 2016

Nice big and clean rooms with pool and breakfast served. Perfect for our needs. Staff friendly, check in and check out very easy. Price is very good compared to other hotels in the area. We were seeing a concert at Joshua Tree - a little far from the venue, but it worked out fine.

"Clean! "
Shawn S, 22 Août 2016

Spent a night here before heading back to Canada. Can't complain. The hostess's at the front desk were very helpful. Even gave my co worker a free upgrade. Rooms are clean and quiet. AC is ice cold. There is an outdoor swimming pool, and a few little shops in town. Check out the Rib co. Taxi situation isn't the greatest.

"Location near Joshua Tree National Park"
Lisa K, 18 Août 2016

Great location near Joshua Tree National Park. The hotel is clean and has a great breakfast that is included in the stay. Hotel is also located near other restaurants and gas stations. Good value and great price

"Nice Motel, ehh service."
Katie C, 17 Août 2016

Girl at check in was rude, after our long drive there, it was very disheartening to experience that upon arrival. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel, but when things go wrong at the start, it makes you feel like an unwanted customer.

"Worst value I've seen in a hotel."
Dennis W, 13 Août 2016

Broken TV link, dirty coffee maker, inconvenient ice machines, the worst value/dollar I've ever seen, no coffee cups in room, disorganized breakfast room and mediocre food and long lines at each entree. Forget this hotel; one can find a better one for half the price. I plan to give the same review at every on line hotel site and directory.

"Oasis in the desert"
mgmvt, 10 Août 2016

Clean, quiet hotel on the outskirts of town at the foot of the mountains. Staff was very helpful and polite although they knew that I had booked the room on Trip Advisor. It was a very hot day and our room did not seem to be cooling off with the AC and they gracefully changed our room. Pool and hot tub area were very refreshing.

"Great Hotel"
Anthony C, 08 Août 2016

Great Hotel super nice area very close to Joshua Tree and surrounding area lots of food options and trails. Nice pool super clean inside and out. My only issue with the Hotel is the AC didn't seem to efficiently cool the room not sure if thats because it wasn't big enough or because it was a torching inferno outside. I would highly recommend this place my wife has only ever had one complaint the front desk staff was rude one time when she was purchasing a soda....they didn't acknowledge her or something of the sort. We have family out there and enjoy the outdoors so overtime we visit we only staff at this Hotel can't beat 106 bucks after taxes for a super nice large cozy clean room.

"Good hotel in Joshua Tree"
Noella B, 07 Août 2016

The hotel is a good Best Western close to Joshua Tree. Our room was clean and comfortable and had good service. Breakfast was also good. It is located on 29 Palms, close to restaurants and stores but it was still nice and quiet in the room.

"Top Motel"
Opoeler, 03 Août 2016

We stayed two nights there to Explorer the Joshua Tree NP. The staff is extremely friendly and open. Rooms are clean and quite. Pool and gym available and the second night all staff and guests were invited for a small dinner and a drink. Breakfast Buffet is better than in the other Motels we stayed.

"Excellent Best Western"
Glacier Technic... G, 02 Août 2016

The manager (Amra) has a very well trained staff that are polite and very helpful. It is a pleasure to call the front desk and hear their cheery voices. The rooms and grounds are always clean. Thank you for all your hard work!

"Clean, but a bit dated"
photonut001, 22 Juillet 2016

In brief, very clean, but the decor is a bit-dated. Internet was fast for the first two days, not so going into the evening going into the next morning of a three-day stay. It was like it fell from DSL to (back-up?) dial-up speeds, so I used my Verizon LTE (much faster) but alas, cut into my data plan. Breakfast was so-so and the room is small. Overall though, I felt like it was a good value and lower than some of the competitors down the road. I also went during the HOT summer (July) "off" season so seasonal rates may vary as to the value for those visiting Joshua National Park (my purpose for the visit). Oh, and be sure to check on the 20+ murals around town!

"Quick stop-over"
ElinJanitz, 20 Juillet 2016

Arrived late and stayed only one night on our way from LA to Grand Canyon. Scorchingly hot even after dark, it was great to be able to soak in the pool and Jacuzzi, and I must say the pool area was very nice. Rooms big and clean, and the included breakfast was the best I've ever had at a Best Western. Plus the rate was very reasonable. Great option for visiting Joshua Tree National Park!

"Only one day, but it was nice."
Robert L, 06 Juillet 2016

We had a nice one day stop here. Not enough for full use of the facilities but enough to know how good they are. The room was nice and clean and the air conditioning worked well. That was important as it was 103 degrees the day we came and the day we left. The pool was small but at a very nice temperature for the hot weather. The hot tub was too hot for my liking on a hot day with no shade at the tub. The breakfast was included and I think one of the best "free" breakfasts in this kind of setting. I particularly liked that they made waffles to order. I recommend this place.

"good value"
Sue&mike, 03 Juillet 2016

Booked this as a stop over from Las Vegas to the coast, good location, nice pool, good choices for breakfast ate outside, good seating outside with shade. Check in was fine, pleasant people on check in, & check out.

"Very Good visit to the Desert"
donniebaseballNY, 23 Juin 2016

My wife and I visited Twenty Nine Palms to see our soon at the Marine Base. It is truly a desert experience. Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley are nearby(15-30 minutes away.) Food options are okay. Some Local and some national chains. Stater Brothers Grocery is clean and friendly. The Best Western was nice. It has coffee and chocolate chip cookies all day and a free breakfast that includes waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, pastries and beverages.

"Great no frills hotel."
NZFrontiers, 14 Juin 2016

Everything you could ask for in a reliable place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Spotless rooms. Good air-conditioning, complimentary internet, free parking, breakfast included. Easy to find and only five minutes from entrance to the Joshua Tree National Park.

"Average hotel. Reasonable price."
SwedishMagnus, 13 Juin 2016

I am sorry to say nothing really stood out with this hotel. It was reasonably clean and quiet (apart from the A/C unit which was quite noisy), the rooms were reasonably sized and the location was within reasonable distance from the national park and restaurants. Do yourself a favor: Skip the complimentary breakfast and go to a cafe.

"Contact In The Desert!!"
633Kenny, 11 Juin 2016

Great staff, good breakfast, quiet and clean room!! Particularly liked the separation of shower / toilet room and sink/ mirror space in the bedroom area!! Would stay there again if we get out to the Joshua Tree CITD again!!

"Nice hotel"
weroadtrip, 09 Juin 2016

Nice hotel, close to Joshua Tree National Park. Pleasant staff, clean room, good shower. Breakfast was good, staff was on top of it and keeping everything full. We were passing through and didn't use the pool. I would definitely stay here again.

"Close to Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center"
Raylene A, 06 Juin 2016

This hotel is extremely clean, with excellent, friendly, and accommodating staff. It is located within close proximity to the Joshua Tree National park and visitors center. This was my first time visiting 29 Palms, and based on this vacation, I would stay here again.

"Awesome"
Carol S, 02 Juin 2016

Great facility at great price, no worries as to condition of room, or pool. Breakfast not the best but overall very clean, comfortable facility. After day of hiking in Joshua Tree NP looked forward to swimming in pool and relaxing in hot tub. Very comfortable room in central location between the north and south entrance of park. If in area again would not hesitate booking a room in this hotel.

"Great place to stay!"
Dan S, 16 Mai 2016

We stayed for two nights while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. It was a nice, comfortable hotel with a great breakfast. The room we had was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our son slept on the sofa bed and slept well. We also enjoyed the pool patio area and ate our dinner there one evening.

"Good value"
Christine R, 14 Mai 2016

This hotel is slightly out of town compared to others and is quite big with over 500 rooms. We had asked for, and received, a quiet room towards the back of the plot. Unfortunately our upstairs neighbours had other plans and spent a long time walking up and down on the creaky floorboards and testing the creaky bed springs! You can imagine the rest! I would therefore suggest you choose a room on what the Americans call the second floor! Wifi was fine but there was a warning not to change channels too quickly or the tv set would freeze. Despite following that advice our set froze and we weren't able to watch tv. As it was quite late we didn't bother phoning reception. As BW rewards members we did receive a goody bag on arrival and a little card welcoming us which was a nice touch. Also the breakfast was better than usual with freshly cooked bacon, omelettes, scrambled eggs and sausages. Also nice to see fruit and yoghourt options. The staff were helpful and polite and did take the trouble to ask if our stay had been all right. They also gave us some dining ideas. Convenient location for Joshua Tree National Park and good value for money.

"Clean and great breakfast"
Skaerje, 09 Mai 2016

My family stayed at the Best Western in 29 Palms over the weekend for business and pleasure. Check in was easy and our room was clean and modern looking. It seemed that the room had recently been refurbished, although it still smelled a bit like cigarette smoke. It was clear that the hotel used to have smoking rooms or someone had smoked in our room recently. It was too cold to swim, but the pool looked nice. Breakfast was surprisingly wonderful. We had breakfast on Mother's Day, so the dining area was extremely crowded. But staff was courteous and replenished food quickly. We ordered waffles and they were delicious. It was probably the best free breakfast in a hotel chain I've ever had. Will definitely stay here again next time we're at Joshua Tree. You can't really walk anywhere from this hotel (it's right on the highway), but driving to the park is easy.

"Great choice"
diannelynnl, 06 Mai 2016

Very happy with our stay at the hotel. When we checked in at 6 pm the clerk told us they were serving a complimentary dinner. We took advantage and enjoyed a tasty bowl of pasta with chicken, bacon, cheese and spinach. We could then relax and enjoy the beautiful pool and hot tub. The bed was comfortable and had nice pillows. In the morning we took advantage of a healthy breakfast. Highly recommend.

"Awesome breakfast!"
Thelma R, 01 Mai 2016

Wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was clean and met our needs for the weekend. I was expecting the typical complimentary continental breakfast, however, I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of items - scrambled eggs, omelets, freshly made waffles and smoothies, fruit, bacon, sausages etc. I would definitely stay here again. For the price it is a bargain!

"Visiting Joshua Tree Park"
goldentraveler2015, 25 Avril 2016

We enjoyed our stay at this motel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were right next door to the breakfast room. That evening they served spaghetti and bread sticks with your choice of beer, soda, or water. That was a nice treat. We also had a nice breakfast the next morning. It was so handy. The server there was very friendly. Our room had an outside door where we could easily unload our luggage. There were beautiful smelling roses were right by our front door!

"Pleasant stay"
Daina R, 25 Avril 2016

The motel was conveniently located for our trip to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. (The town of Joshua Tree, however, had much more to offer than Twentynine Palms). The motel, though, was clean and sufficiently furnished, and had a friendly, helpful staff. There was a nice, outdoor pool. A complimentary hot breakfast (with a variety of items) was provided. It definitely served our needs. However, there were a few negatives. I didn't like that there was no outside door to our building. I was uncomfortable with the idea that anyone could have come in. The ice machine was located on the outside of only 1 of the buildings, which was a little inconvenient. The pros outweighed the cons, though.

"Not recommended "
mreeves1734, 24 Avril 2016

We weren't able to check in until a little after 3:00 because our room "wasn't quite ready" We went to eat and came back to our room that evening. When we got back, our A/C wasn't working. It took almost an hour to have someone come look at it. We woke up the next morning and found several roaches in the floor near the bed and in the bathroom. We didn't eat the breakfast in fear of what could be in the food. I expected a nice room, or at least decent, for the amount we paid. We won't be visiting there again.

"poor customer service"
Joann H, 23 Avril 2016

manager was rude, uncooperative, he just wanted to leave. In fact when walking away from us he said "I'm out of here now" only thing that seemed to interest any of the staff was getting peoples money, after that ,too bad you're one your own!!

"Exemplary Hotel for others"
Gabor M, 17 Avril 2016

After having a terrible experience at a BW in Tucson, this stay represented the very best of a hotel. Professional, knowledgeable, and caring staff. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet neighborhood. Quiet guests, mainly tourists. Very decent breakfast with caring service. Worth stopping there and experience it.

"Met our needs well"
LondonKaytee, 10 Avril 2016

One night visit to enable us to spend more time in Joshua Tree NP. The hotel was ideal for this - near entries to park and on main road for access to places to eat. Very good sized room which was clean and comfortable, though was on the second floor which was a bit of a pain with large suitcases and no lift in this block.Good complimentary breakfast and helpful staff here and at check-in. Laundry for guest use was very small (on edge of car park) and there was nowhere to put folded washing as removed if from dryer, nevertheless it was useful to have on site when on a long trip. Met our needs well.

"Best Complimentary Breakfast"
Timothy L, 06 Avril 2016

We stayed one night to visit Joshua Tree NP. Hotel is located close to the north entrance. We like the visitor center at the north entrance very much for it's new and staffs are nice. I've stay at many other Best Western hotels. All offer good complimentary breakfast. This one offers among the best. Staffs are friendly and efficient. Staff will make waffles for you. The room is clean and is very comfortable size. We stayed at a king bed suite. Good place to see the stars at night if you don't want to drive out.

"4.5"
Heide L, 04 Avril 2016

very satisfied. the staff are very helpful and accommodating. The room is clean. We stayed at this hotel because of a basketball tournament. The only thing thing I can complain is that this best western doesn't have the recreational room compared to best western in Big bear. The only thing the kids or the entire team can do is swim. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

"Best Western SHAME ON YOU!!!"
senoritabrooks, 03 Avril 2016

This Best Western was a very disturbing stay! To say the least! The manager of this establishment was unaccommodating and the owner as well! We booked thru a travel agent, who booked with Beds on Line. Needless to say PLEASE DON'T do it, this Best Western did not put us in the room we initially booked AND would not move us to the room we were to be in. The manager said they were booked solid. Which was a LIE. At any point of time this establishment was not full. We initially booked for 7 nights, upon check in the front desk clerk had said if we plan to leave early, they need 24hr notice. Because we could not get the bed/room we had paid for we decided to check out early and gave a 48hr notice, we did find something more comfortable up the road. WE paid over $1000.00 for 7 nights, upon only staying 4 nights. THE Best Western manager would not give me back the 3 nights. So all said and done .....+$250.00 per night!!!! I travel a lot and I have never ever been billed for days I have not stayed. SHAME ON YOU ... BEST WESTERN GARDEN HOTEL in 29 PALMS!!! All for a few dollars.

"Nice enough"
kate0709, 31 Mars 2016

We visited 29palms and Joshua tree over Easter weekend. Arrived too early to check in so we met up with our friends who had arrived the night before. Went to JT and had an amazing day. Returned to motel tired and dirty and checked into room. We had a double Queen for 2 adults and 2 kids, room was nice sized and mostly clean. Slept well and all was quiet. Went to the breakfast and it was fine. The layout of the breakfast room promotes chaos but the ladies running it were doing a great job. All the staff at the motel seemed nice enough, but they didn't seem to want to go above and beyond. Nothing was wrong exactly, just nothing special. Didnt have time to enjoy the pool, but it looked great. If i was going back, I would be sure to request a room away from the pool. For the price and location, I would totally recommend this place.

"Stayed here so we could explore Joshua Tree National Park with our grandson"
Kathleen P, 28 Mars 2016

Large room with queen beds great for two adults and one child. Too cool to use the nice looking pool. Decent breakfast for all. Very close to Joshua Tree National Park which was the big draw. Gave excellent advice for a barbeque restaurant nearby for dinner.

"Pleasant 2 night stay"
Charlie13_13, 27 Mars 2016

Comfortable room with all the usual facilities. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast room is very small but they put tables outside in the parking lot for breakfast in the sun!! The pool is nice and the location is good for visiting Joshua Tree NP.

"Comfortable, clean, helpful staff"
AaronNMegen, 27 Mars 2016

Great place to stay if you are passing through Twentynine Palms. Lovely pool area. Helpful staff. Very clean. Great breakfast. We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 children( travelling for pleasure. We would recommend this hotel to all travellers. Fantastic value for money.

"Meh"
Marianne D, 26 Mars 2016

Great location. Pool was the best feature. The room and bed were good for the price. I'm only giving two stars due to the poor housekeeping. Dead flies on window sills in the stairway. Bathroom barely cleaned. Breakfast experience less than ideal. Confusing layout that led to a chaotic experience.

"Very comfortable"
Richard M, 21 Mars 2016

Hotel was everything we needed. Feel kinda bad for the two women who were running the breakfast room - they were a bit overburdened at times. But they marched on with smiles and a good attitude - but especially with some items being made to order - they could use one more hand!

"Clean and comfy"
Maryestev, 17 Mars 2016

My husband and I stayed here one night before and after hiking at Joshua Tree. Our king sized bed was very comfortable and the room had a sofa, mini-fridge, microwave, and all expected bathroom amenities. Very quiet. Breakfast included. A very good value.

"quiet peaceful stay great pool"
dunera, 16 Mars 2016

This BW is on the western side of 29 Palms, and only 4 miles from the entrance to Joshua Tree NP. There are 6 suites around a large pool, recommended if you can run to it. Have lounge, separate bedroom and kitchen area. Opens onto the pool and Jacuzzi area . The pool is a good size and secluded with hedging all around, good patio area and barbeque patio under cover. Little road noise, breakfast included which is hot and average plus. Downside if you don't want fastfood little choice, only 29 palms hotel with a good American restaurant. Took me two days to find it!

" Clean, convenient and cheap"
Linda W, 16 Mars 2016

Thought this spot was great. Clean room and bathroom with excellent shower. Updated bathroom was very nice. Front help was efficient and friendly. Breakfast gal was hard working and helpful. My husband and I stayed only one night as we were passing through but if I were staying longer this hotel would be the place to stay. Clean, convenient and cheap.

"Comfortable Stay"
Mike A, 16 Mars 2016

We found the hotel staff to be quite friendly. A great place for couples and families alike. Very "kid friendly" with a nice breakfast included. Be sure to have a Belgian waffle if you have time. Easy access to Joshua Tree.

"Very friendly service!"
Katie H, 14 Mars 2016

Clean and comfortable room. Very friendly at the front desk. Fresh coffee and tea available all day. My one and only complaint is that the walls are paper thin. So, if you're a light sleeper, I'd bring ear plugs! That being said, we were there while it was a full house and I only woke up once to some early risers chatting outside and once due to our neighbor who had a hearty laugh. (Not a horrible way to wake up)! Overall, we enjoyed our time here. It was centrally located to Joshua Tree Park, restaurants and the Integratron sound bath. We would stay again :)

"Great Location and Helpful Staff"
Laurieface, 14 Mars 2016

This hotel is the BEST location if you want to visit the North Entrance (Oasis Visitor Center) of Joshua Tree National Park. The hotel staff is always so helpful and pleasant and the breakfast is great.

"Nice restful stay!"
Kenneth N, 12 Mars 2016

Good clean room with a nice bed. Breakfast was adequate and well stocked. It included hot food as well as the usual breakfast items. Convenient to Joshua Tree National Park. If you eat dinner go to The Rib restaurant.

"Nice location & great stay!"
toesinthewater4, 11 Mars 2016

Stayed here while visiting Joshua Tree. The room was very clean. We slept great & enjoyed the free breakfast. It was your typical breakfast choices & had plenty of options to get our day started. We would stay here again with out hesitation!

"A nice place to stay near Joshua Tree"
Ben E, 09 Mars 2016

It's not the most affordable hotel near Joshua Tree, but the cheaper hotels looked sketchy, so we were okay with paying a little more for peace of mind. The wifi in the room worked surprisingly well—we were able to stream the Warriors game without any hiccups. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. It's much more than just bagels and cream cheese! Not too far from the park entrance either.

"Very good value for the price."
Sporter1, 02 Mars 2016

This Best Western is very clean and serves a good breakfast. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We had a few issues with our room which is why it is not a five star. We would stay here again if in the area.

"Great budget hotel near Joshua Tree"
mel23k, 22 Février 2016

The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. The toiletries were organic. The breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of options, including veggie omelets and smoothies, and nice additions like salsa and shredded cheese for the scrambled eggs. The staff kept everything well stocked. We had no issues with the wifi. Overall it was a great one night stay.

"Friendly staff, and at the doorstep of Joshua Tree N.P."
Carlos R, 22 Février 2016

The staff was very friendly and helped us to get around town and made very good suggestions about restaurants and places to see in town. This particular property is very close to the north-east entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. This allowed us to make very efficient time in seeing the park attractions.

"Comfortable stay"
SHam808, 20 Février 2016

Nothing special, it was a comfortable place all the staff was very friendly. Good breakfast. It was a little dated and there is carpet on the sink area which freaks me out a bit. I will say that it was a little on the noisy as I could hear every step from the people above us so ask for 2nd floor. But all in all it was a good choice.

"The basics, but clean, comfortable and well run"
MJinAZ, 16 Février 2016

I needed a comfortable place to spend the night while visiting Joshua Tree National Park, and this hotel did the trick. Not at all fancy, but well-maintained and the breakfast bar included made to order smoothies.

"Very comfortable stay"
LJT746, 15 Février 2016

Stayed two nights here in January . Was very pleasantly surprised to find a spotlessly clean room with comfortable easy chair and excellent bed. Breakfast also was very good although, for some reason, they were very slow to replenish empty serving dishes. It was good when it came though. I would certainly stay here again as it is a quiet place set back from the main road and ,as mentioned ,it was a nice room.

"Another Excellent Overnight Stay"
henryonatrip, 15 Février 2016

I first stayed at the Best Western Garden Inn many years ago. I was so impressed with the quality of service that I thought maybe it was just by luck that they had a great staff that time. My second visit was just as nice as the first and it wasn't by luck, these folks really do a very good job of keeping the guests happy as well as maintaining the hotel. The hotel is located in a nice location just right off the main road on a slight hill with a nice view. It's about a mile from the downtown area so it's quiet. The facilities are well taken care of. This recent stay the hotel was completely booked. Luckily we had made reservations far in advance. Even though it was fully booked, we were treated as though we were the only guests there. In anticipation of the morning complimentary breakfast area being crowded, the staff set out some tables outside under the trees for an overflow area. There were still open tables inside but my wife and I decided to sit outside out in the desert morning air and enjoy or breakfast which we did. That was a very nice idea to have table outside. When you check out, don't be surprised when they ask you how they can do better. We're never disappointed with the service or the quality of the accommodations. It's almost like going home each time we're in the area and spend the night.

"Noisy, dark room"
Nina J, 14 Février 2016

Felt like the walls were made out of paper. I could hear my neighbors using the restroom at night (not just the toilet flushing either!). Felt like the room was a cave. Beds were rock hard and pillows were too big. Luckily I only had to endure this room one night.

"Great place to hang your hiking boots"
Miriam O, 09 Février 2016

On a spontaneous trip out to Joshua Tree, we needed a place to stay the night. The Best Western Gardens Hotel was just perfect. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The staff was really attentive and friendly. The hotel had plenty of parking and was incredibly close to Joshua Tree National Park. Overall, it was an excellent stay!

"THIS SHOULD BE A BEST WERTERN PLUS"
707clayg, 08 Février 2016

I am very impressed with this hotel, I have stayed at quite a few Best Western and Best Western Plus hotels and this is the nicest of any so far. The staff was friendly and very helpful when we checked in and supplied a local restaurant guide and some personal recommendations when we asked. The hotel has four buildings so is spread out and has lots of room and parking. I saw patio areas and a really nice pool area with a fitness center and several outside BBQ and nice tables. The breakfast area was separate from the lobby which was a very nice touch. The staff in the breakfast area was very helpful and kept the area very clean. The scrambled eggs were moist and fresh, the cheese omelets were a nice addition, with sausage links. The juice was in pictures and not out of a machine and they had a large variety of rolls, bagels, muffins, and breads and if you wanted a waffle they would make it for you. I like to stay at BW when they have the full breakfast and this one was definitely a cut above other BW's we have stayed at. All of the facilities and grounds are well maintained and spotless. Our room was very quiet and the sleep quantity was excellent. We will be back to Joshua Tree NP and will stay at the Gardens BW for sure. I can't say enough about this hotel, as it and our stay was right up there with some of the higher priced resorts we have stayed at.

"Great place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree."
Melody S, 06 Février 2016

My husband and I spent three nights while exploring Joshua Tree National Park. Comfortable, clean, and very nice staff. We were upgraded to a larger room with a kitchenette with seperate living room area. Very nice. The breakfast eating area is a bit small and some people did not find seats, but the food was decent.

"Joshua Tree lodging, just out of town"
nyob, 30 Janvier 2016

Great Find. Less than 10 miles into East entrance, 5 into Indian Cove, and about 15 to West entrance. Comfortable rooms, very helpful staff, we asked for a room on the dark side for star gazing and they gave us the best spot at the top of the hill, away from lights. Fresh breakfast, great service.Wednesday nights free tacos with all trimmings and drinks. Only caution, walls are thin, neighbors turn on bathroom fan and go out, ugh.

"Great service"
Alicia B, 28 Janvier 2016

Clean rooms, great breakfast--much better than expected including smoothies and waffles made to order surrounded by good variety of options--and pleasant staff. All around great value for the price. The beds were comfortable and the rooms updated and neat. We would stay there again.

"Great staff!"
Jill & Douglas C, 24 Janvier 2016

Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was nice, clean, and had very comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet was good and its staffing was great, however the dining room was to small to accommodate very many guests.

"Excellent experience!"
Nancy J, 14 Janvier 2016

This was our second stay at the Best Western Gardens Hotel in Joshua Tree. It was our second visit to Joshua Tree National Park. The staff at the hotel is exceptionally professional, courteous and helpful. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is complimentary and includes all fo the usual choices like fruit and cereal to eggs, sausage, bagels, freshly made waffles and more. We highly recommend this hotel.

"Nice hotel with a good location."
Christopher M, 08 Janvier 2016

This is a good hotel in Tweny-nine Palms. Easy to enter Joshua Tree and to find nice places to eat. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast that was a little bit overcrowded in the morning. They also have a fitness center and a pool which would have been nice if we would have been there during the summer.

"Nice for the price and good location"
Laura R, 06 Janvier 2016

If you want to experience Joshua Tree National Park, this hotel is a good choice for location, and is a good deal for the money. The rooms were clean, although the mattress was uncomfortable. The fitness facility was very limited and one of the machines was not plugged in. The free breakfast is nice, but they ran out of food when we were there and a manager (I assume) came out telling people to let other people who hadn't eaten eat first. To be honest, this seemed like the hotel's fault for not having enough food, and I don't think it's fair to make guests feel greedy for taking advantage of a buffet breakfast. After that experience our first morning, we chose to go out for breakfast.

"Great location for Joshua Tree National Park Visitors"
Hena A, 06 Janvier 2016

Terrific location, good value. Complimentary breakfast is a great convenience but don't wait till the last minute to get your breakfast. They were out of most hot items and the staff members were unhappy when we asked if the food will be replenished. But it was the holiday weekend (1/1) and it could have been unusually crowded leading to food and staff-shortage that day. Other than that, a great experience, overall.

"A quality experience in the Hi Desert"
Okyay, 04 Janvier 2016

I like the pool. I like the rooms. The staff is great, and pays attention to all the details. This is one of the only hotels I've found in 29 Palms that has (some) rooms, that actually look out on the desert and the mountains. It is peaceful and quiet, had a nice jacuzzi, and heated pool. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is pleasant an efficient.

"Surprisingly excellent place to stay near the national park"
Bandoodie :, 03 Janvier 2016

great level of service from the staff, clean, only a few minutes drive from both the 29 Palms Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center & Park Entrance. There are gas stations and places to eat nearby. Grounds are well kept, but views are not great. There is an outdoor pool, but it's too cold to use during the winter. Breakfast is included.

"Excellent Place to Stay Near Joshua Tree National Park"
Bandoodie21, 03 Janvier 2016

Ended up here for the night during the winter when we arrived at Joshua Tree National Park and found all campsites full. A bit drab on the outside, but the room was very nicely decorated & clean. We were impressed with the level of service provided by the staff -- we've stayed at a few Best Western hotels elsewhere and this is the best of the franchise we've ever experienced-- a really good surprise. The staff at breakfast was super attentive and friendly also. Pros: - about 5 minutes away from the 29 Palms Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center - located right on the main highway - Free parking - Excellent breakfast (waffles, fresh fruit, smoothie, scrambled eggs, etc) - Attentive & friendly staff (the best we've experienced in many years of staying at Best Western Hotels) - fridge, microwave, coffee maker, bathtub in the room Cons: - bed was a bit too soft for my taste, so woke up a little sore - No views (but grounds are well kept & I didn't look out the window anyway)

"Nice if short stay"
Charles B, 02 Janvier 2016

It was winter and we arrived early about noon and our room wasn't ready. But we were able to use the pool for about 90 minutes until they got us ready and in fact upgraded us to a larger room. Thank you Jessica! The breakfast room is small but adequate and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi was working perfectly and we used it 3 different times in the 18 hours we were visiting the Joshua Tree National Park.

"Nice hotel near Joshua Tree National Park"
Joan S, 31 Décembre 2015

Positives: 1) Extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient staff -- during check-in, check-out, and breakfast. Every person seemed happy to help, with no exceptions (5 different people). This was quite noticeable and not typical. 2) Large, clean room. One room with two queens to sleep four (2 adults + 2 kids). Our particular room was quite big. Everything was spotless. 3) Staff made fruit smoothies for breakfast upon request. They were quite good -- kids loved them. Negatives: 1) The breakfast room got a little crowded by around 7:45 a.m., and people were consuming food faster than the staff could replenish it. Wasn't a problem at 7:00 a.m. 2) Location is slight negative. Stayed in 29 Palms to visit Joshua Tree NP. It's about a 15 minute drive to the main West Entrance station. Also, we preferred the restaurants in Yucca Valley for dinner -- 20-25 minute drive. There is another BW in Yucca Valley, but they did not have 2 queens to sleep the four of us (which we preferred). 3) "Coffee" was brown water -- no flavor whatsoever.

"Clean Rooms - Friendly Staff - Good Breakfast"
Kathryn T, 29 Décembre 2015

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was great. Loved that we were so close the the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

"Clean and Quiet"
833rayd, 21 Décembre 2015

Uneventful but pleasant stay during my visit to Twentynine Palms. Easy access to Joshua Tree National Park. Complementary breakfast was simple but adequate. Several good restaurants nearby in Joshua Tree.

"Good motel near Joshua Tree NP"
mrdelmar, 17 Décembre 2015

This is a pretty good place in an area with very few nice hotels. It is about 10 minutes outside the park entrance and has everything you need. The room is clean. The heater works well. The bed is comfortable. The staff is pleasant. The free breakfast is not bad.

"Budget Friendly"
jadec12341, 15 Décembre 2015

Stayed for one night, the day after Thanksgiving, with the purpose of exploring Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. The hotel is older, but seemed clean. It was quiet at night and the beds were comfy. The hotel staff was nice and had good recommendations for nearby restaurants. The curtains were a little shabby with holes on edges. It would be excellent to remodel, and little fridge was very noisy cycling on and off. Breakfast area was extremely small and stressful standing shoulder to shoulder trying to get a bite to eat! Joshua Tree was amazing, especially hidden valley trail! We will come back to Joshua tree but will check out several hotels closer to the park before we decide if we will stay at this hotel again.

"Nice place to stay"
Ken R, 15 Décembre 2015

This was a clean and nice place to stay. The staff were friendly and breakfast was great. The location was terrific and I would definitely stay here again. The room price was a good value for the quality of the room and service.

"Excellent"
Russell W, 12 Décembre 2015

The hotel was outstanding. The staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean and well kept. The spa and pool were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, great hotel and staff!

"nice hotel, great staff"
Dave T, 10 Décembre 2015

this is a very nicely updated hotel, convenient to the area, park, USMC base. The rooms are clean, comfortable and everything worked. The staff is excellent and willing to accommodate your needs with a smile. Not a luxury hotel, but very good basic accommodations at a reasonable rate.

"Thanksgiving visit"
576carmenh, 06 Décembre 2015

The hotel location was ideal and in a major strip where it was easy to get to all stores, restaurants, cafe, etc... The staff were friendly and accomodating. It is so great to get up early and/or arrive late and staff that really appreciate what they do and are willing to go out of their way to help you.

"Joshua Tree delight"
Monica S, 02 Décembre 2015

The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms pleasant. We have stayed here twice and plan to return. Very good value for a stay so near the entrance of a National Park. Restaurants in the area are somewhat sparce, but this is an out-of-the-way location. Groceries are available nearby. A nice place to spend a week or to just pass through.

"Clean and nice looking"
travelwkids22, 29 Novembre 2015

The stay was comfortable, clean, and friendly. Breakfast is basic ad meet the needs. The staff were nice and hard working. Wi-fi was great. The park is about 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. It is a small town, but proximity to the park was key. We would stay here again.

"We had a great stay! Better than expected and good value with friendly staff"
Lauren B, 25 Novembre 2015

We booked at the last minute and got a nice, clean, new room for $116 that included a hot breakfast for the three of us. We had originally planned to stay in a resort in Palm Desert, but staying in Yucca Valley allowed us to spend a 2nd day in Joshua Tree National Park and spenf a lot less money too. All in all, the room was a great value. Itt included a full size refrigerator (~18 cu ft), cooking burners and dishes/flatware for 4 as well as a coffee maker. Breakfast was pretty good. I completely enjoyed scrambled eggs with my leftover beans and rice from the Heavenly Sisters' Cafe in Joshua Tree. Toast, a nice cup of hot tea and toast with butter and jam made a hearty breakfast. The breakfast staff was extra friendly, and come to think of it, so was the desk staff. Would definitely stay again!

"Great hotel in perfect neighborhood!"
Cesar I, 24 Novembre 2015

We went to Twentynine Palms to visit our son for Thanksgiving. The hotel is in a great location with many things around it to fulfill your day. The hotel itself has many amenities but more importantly the staff is great. Mica was extremely helpful and accommodating. She gave us a tour of the hotel amenities so that we can easily find our way around. In addition, she gave us a lot of information about some of the good restaurants in the area. Thank you Mica. You've made our trip much easier.

"Best Western could do better"
lslucchini, 22 Novembre 2015

The value was good, and we were upgraded due to the loyalty program, but the room had an odor. The breakfast was better than usual, with extra offerings such as smoothies. The hot tub and pool area were nice, but the hot tub was barely hot. Still nice to sit in after hiking but chilly getting out! Overall this was a good choice for us for 2 nights while visiting Joshua Tree NP. One of my main complaints about this hotel, and so many others, is their lack of commitment to water conservation. They put a sign in the bathroom asking you to re-use your towels if they are hung up, but the staff wash them anyway. This hotel also has 6 gallon flush toilet, which does not make sense in a desert.

"Meh"
Fiorella Z, 20 Novembre 2015

This hotel wasn't the best or the worst. The room was spacious and clean. The hot tub was luke warm. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was not good and reminded me of airplane food. The distance to the park was very convenient.

"great place to stay"
Elaine B, 18 Novembre 2015

one of the nicest Best Western I have stayed at- and don't miss the breakfast - a big step above other places . you will love the country side . It was out of the way for me on this trip but I am soooo glad I did it. Try it you will love it. The pool looked great but I couldn't find my suit.

"Comfortable, great staff, convenient"
KATHERINE B, 18 Novembre 2015

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They serve a free, home-cooked meal on Wednesday nights. The room was spacious and comfortable. This isn't a fancy hotel but was great for the price. Very convenient location to Joshua Tree NP and to the restaurants in 29 Palms. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

"Great location and great room"
wehaveapiperdoone, 17 Novembre 2015

Perfect for a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. The shower was amazing and hot and much needed after hiking all day in the freezing cold. Fridge and microwave in the room and everything was super clean.

"a good experience at the Best Western"
garymary, 14 Novembre 2015

My son and I were guest there sat 11-7-15 on a road trip to visit Joshua Tree Natl Park.. Check in staff was friendly and efficient. Our room had a refridge and microwave, was clean and very quiet. We did use the hot tub and it was very nice. The hotel is about 5 miles to Joshua Tree visitor center and the breakfast served was good with bacon, eggs, waffles, and we had no complaints at all. We will stay here again when we are in the area

"Don't stay in Twenty Nine Palms - go to Palm Springs area instead"
camval, 11 Novembre 2015

We spent the day in Joshua Tree National Park and planned to stay just outside so we could go back in the park the next day. We mistakenly emerged at the north edge of the National Park at Twentynine Palms instead of the south side with the Palm Springs area. What a contrast! The south side (the Coachella Valley) is beautiful with many lovely places to stay. The north side is a complete dump. We thought Twenynine Palms was going to be a lovely spa like town with nice hotels - how wrong we were. The Best Western was the best of the hotels we could find in Twentynine Palms but was disappointing compared to other Best Westerns we've been to. The room smelled and all the carpets looked like they needed a good clean or replacing. A dark small room overlooking the parking area as all seemed to be. Breakfast was basic. Had free wi-fi and a refrigerator in the room. I think it is only so high on TA as all the hotels are pretty dire in this area. It's mainly a marine base. Queen room was £84.60+tax so a good price.

"GREAT CHOICE"
Alfonso E, 09 Novembre 2015

Im glad I booked this hotel, everything was as it should be and to top it off my room was upgraded to a suite... I highly recommend this hotel, location is great when visiting Joshua Tree national park... Staff was very helpfull with the best attitude

"Weekend at Joshua Tree"
Nancy J, 09 Novembre 2015

We visited Joshua Tree National Park for the weekend. We found the Best Western Gardens Hotel to be comfortable and the services excellent. The room was nicely decorated and clean. Although it was too cold for the pool, the pool area looked really inviting and well kept. We highly recommend this hotel.

"The BEST place to stay in Twentynine Palms"
Julie33107, 06 Novembre 2015

You will not be disappointed at this hotel. It is very convenient to Joshua Tree National Park, the staff could not be more helpful and accommodating, the hotel is clean and comfortable, the wifi works great, the breakfast is varied and extensive....you have everything you need right here. The young woman who checked us in was super friendly and professional. She upgraded our room to a suite which we were so happy with, we stayed an additional day. She even baked pumpkin bread which she generously offered to us. I can't say enough about the staff here, they all made our stay a very good one. We travel often and often stay in Best Western hotels, they are all different with varying degrees of comfort and friendliness........this hotel hits excellence in all areas, made so much better because of a wonderful staff.

"Best hotel in Twentynine Palms!"
soniap752, 04 Novembre 2015

Every time I have to go to the desert I stay at this Best Western. It is the best hotel around. It is a quiet place away from everything. The staff is great the room it's nice comfortable and clean and I also love the breakfast in the morning. See you soon!

"Very, very pleasant"
WelbyTraveller, 02 Novembre 2015

I can't fault this for location and price. The hotel is west of the city center and is an extremely comfortable and pleasant place to stay. We arrived to find we'd been upgraded for free. Everything worked smoothly and there's a nice outdoor pool. Twentynine Palms isn't much of a place, despite the proximity to the National Park, so this is something of a find though we did stay here many years ago and it's still just as good as it was then. There's the Stater Bros grocery store a few blocks east which is handy.

"Great Stay"
DaleWolkenhauer, 01 Novembre 2015

This hotel offers great rates with clean , spacious rooms. The free breakfast was good and wifi reliable. The location is very close to the National Park and walking distance to a local grocery store. Pablo at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a guide to the National Park and suggestions on what to see and where to eat. Thank you for the great stay!

"V good accommodation "
Disneysg1, 30 Octobre 2015

Basic BW accommodation with clean and spacious rooms, swimming pool and spa of a good standard. On main road but little noise from traffic. Good cheap stop for 1 night after spending day in joshua tree np. Breakfast satisfactory.

"Very good"
James D, 28 Octobre 2015

Traveling to Joshua National Park. What a pleasant stay. Front desk friendly and informative. Room clean and neat. Very nicely appointed. Very nice pool and hot tub. Guest appreciation Wednesday's. Grounds very clean and taken care of.

"Great stay!"
beachlovers4, 19 Octobre 2015

I don't rate hotels by how swanky they are, I rate them by their cleanliness, customer service and what you get for your money. We stayed here Oct. '15 with a group of friends for just one night while passing through. We all called the hotel for our reservations as they offered the cheapest rate, $89 for a Saturday night. Check in went very smoothly, several rooms weren't ready as we arrived early but the desk clerk called housekeeping and gave her the room #s that she needed cleaned right away and within 20 minutes they were done! The rooms were a lot better than your typical $89 room, very clean, they had a couch, living room table, lots of lamps, one or two that had plugs to plug in your electronics rather than trying to find a wall plug, a desk, a setee to sit on to help you get dressed, nice, thick towels, coffee maker, fridge, comfy beds/pillows, extra blanket and pillow, a very clean pool area with plenty of seating and lounge chairs and the breakfast they served was better than most for the price - cereals, variety of breads, cinnamon rolls, bagels, juices, freshly made waffles upon request, fruit, scrambled eggs, turkey or pork sausage and a veggie omelette type of egg that was really quite good. The location was decent, next door is a Burger King and a Stater Bros shopping center, restaurants can be found within 1-2 miles. We would definitely stay here again!

"Nice hotel"

We stayed here after a day at nearby Joshua Tree National Park. We were quite happy we chose this hotel. The rooms were nice, comfortable & clean. It was too cold to swim, but we enjoyed the hot-tub. The complimentary breakfast was very good, with much to choose from. Each of the staff members we encountered were very pleasant and spoke with us, making sure everything was good. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area!

"Pleasant surprise"
Luv2travel_Dieppe, 17 Octobre 2015

We had a very large room, large table, large TV with many channels but no HD, fridge, microwave, good AC, nice furniture, and a small bathroom with limited counter space. Staff was very friendly. The bed was comfy but the blanket stopped a foot short of the pillow (maid didn't pay attention to how she made the bed). The price paid provided very good value. The breakfast was very good and well stocked by a very pleasant young lady. They have delicious soft taquitos!

"Perfect Place!"

Had a wonderful room #207 with a nice fridge and microwave. Thoughtful bathroom light is slow to full-on for ppl getting up in the middle of the night :) The breakfast was FANTASTIC with fresh made smoothies and waffles. They also offered Soy AND Almond Milk,gluten-free granola, cereals, gluten-free muffins, omelets, scrambled eggs and an assortment of bread products to toast. KUDOS to BW for being the FIRST Hotel Chain that I've stayed in to offer TURKEY BACON. Never seen that before. Daily menu changed but also included Turkey Sausage and Pork Bacon, Fresh Fruit, and Yogourt. Really great offerings included with our stay, and our server was friendly and courteous. Excellent location to the North Entrance Station on JTNP. Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Great Stay, would definitely return.

"Best Experience"

We stay at Best Westerns a lot and this is one of the better ones. Rooms are great. Beds are comfortable and most everything seems updated. Breakfast was acceptable with a few hot items. The staff in general was amazing. The desk manager Mica is special. Great face of the property. She was sweet, friendly and professional. We would definitely stay here again.

"Clean & updated"
Laura M, 05 Octobre 2015

We live in 29 Palms. We had our floors done in our home, so needed place to stay one night. We have stayed here before. Rooms are clean, updated & good beds. Bad tv picture quality due to being cable not satellite tv and not all channels are HD. In the rooms stated as large room, TV doesnt move so other bed cant really see it. Good breakfast, but no room to sit, have to sit outside. Nice pool area, bbq areas. Pool is suppose to be heated. Landscaping use to be excellent, now it looks just ok, probably due to water cut backs due to drought. Standard rooms are tiny! But ok one night. Large rooms are separate building and single story, so no worry making noise on floor or people making noise above you. Good staff. Next to only full size grocery store in town & you can even walk to it easily.

"not a Hotel - mid-range motel - room needed work"

Looked forward to staying after reading reviews here. Asked for a pool side room. It might have been an upgrade, but as a gold member of their rewards program, upgrades are often offered. The parking lot was virtually empty - end of July - definitely not full. We were denied an upgrade since the clerk said those rooms were 'sold out.' Our room was in the building to the right of reception. Since it was a one-story, there were about 7-8 steps up to the terrace in front of the rooms. Not fun for hauling all our luggage -- especially when going to the pool, we saw a little inclined walkway to the terrace. It would've been nice for the front desk to point that out -- again -- the parking lot was empty & we could've parked next to the little ramp. Our room was quiet however, being segregated from the main building, and again, being fairly empty. It could've been cleaner, especially the carpet. The nightstand outlets did not work. The bathroom door didn't fully close and seemed to be coming unhinged. Breakfast was the usual fare, except the attendant requested our name & room number before she'd make us a waffle. That was a first for us in any best western, or actually in any lodging that serves a 'free' breakfast. Another customer objected loudly. There were Marines in the room also observing this, and we felt bad they didn't have a better experience for their time off with their families. (Many thanks for your service.) The pool was clean & well kept, although it doesn't look like their picture. Fun chatting with other guests, who said the pool was often open to townspeople. Star gazing was optimal that night and the pool was a good place to sit. As we returned to our room about 1130pm, the parking lot was still fairly sparse. When we return to the area, we will stay in Yucca Valley.

"Great Hotel for visiting Joshua Tree National Park"
zyxtaxbo, 24 Septembre 2015

We had a two night stay at this hotel. Even it is placed right beside the interstate 62 it was quiet. The rooms were quite big and comfortable (queen-sized bed). The downside of the room were the "noise" from the other rooms. If someone walks around the floor above, we could here that in our room. Other sounds (like TVs) could not be heard. Breakfast was included and was OK. They use disposable cutlery, but this seems to be were common for 29 palms. Getting into the pool on warm nights after a hike in the park was great. The location is great. Near Joshua tree national park. And you get a great view on the sky at night.

"Great room, great staff"

We were attending BhaktiFest at Joshua Tree Retreat Center. This hotel was recommended by a friend. It's a bit of a drive from the Center, but we loved it. Mica and Brittany at the front desk were wonderful. We paid more for a suite; it was sweet. Large, clean, comfortable. Good pool and spa. ATT could use a new tower in the area, though.

"Wonderful location, very kind staff"
Giorgio Q, 21 Septembre 2015

I planned a trip first to the Big Bear lake, and then to Joshua tree national park. The hotel is in a wonderful location between the two, and very close to the entrance of the Joshua tree national park. The hotel is a good place to spend a night or two, very nice staff, and good rooms. Standard breakfast, and standard level of cleanliness!
