« Nice stay in a nice part of town »

My family of four stayed here and the rooms are comfy but a little small. The A/C froze us out even though it was 90 degrees outside. The breakfast was great. I would choose this hotel for future trips.

    « Escape the heat »

Tuscon is hot. Like really hot. Staying cool is majorly important and this Best Western had powerful, working air conditioning. The rooms were large, clean, and modern. The staff was great too. The layout is cool and unique to this Best Western with a community area recessed in the shade, that's actually pretty nice to hang out in. The pool was clean and unbelievably refreshing, and the hot tub was not for me on this hot day, but I'm sure could of been used at night. Breakfast was excellent and filling as well. Located on a busy street, there's plenty of food nearby as well. Wouldn't mind staying cool here again!

« Comfortable place to stay, great value »

Having stayed in may hotels over the years, I have to say this hotel has very comfortable beds. An absolute must for me. It is an older hotel, but the outside and every room I have stayed in have always been clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast buffet has a good variety, and is always tasty. They have a happy hour in the evenings with 2 complementary glasses of beer or wine. I have spent 8-12 nights here in the last year or so. Never a single issue.

    « Bad Experience »

Seemed like a hotel for homeless with the number of people hangibg out at hotel dressed as if they lived on the street. Would highly suggest checking into BW at Airport instead. Guest services/front desk was unpleasant and unprofessional. Guests sitting in rooms with doors open while laying on beds. Men hanging around stairwell as if they lived there. People banging on doors in middle of night. Horrible experience. Would NOT recommend.

« renovated but not fully renovated »

I was told i was in a renovated room but the renovations were pretty inconsistent. The bathrooms were clearly renovated and were nice. However paint, doors, kitchenette clearly showed wear and you could tell it was very quickly done painting updates. The kitchenette sink had hard water stains, The trim around doors, closet were just patches and the choice to go with a dark chocolate paint color was a bad choice and/or cheap paint as there were already alot of marks on the wall where paint was already coming off. Carpet was not laid correctly. Just overall you can tell

« Visiting friends in Tucson »

Good central location to shopping and activities in the Foothills, this hotel was also convenient to the homes of friends we were visiting. Breakfast is good and the price is right. Although clean, the rooms are small and decor is dated. Nice pool area and BBQ grill available; I think there may also be a tennis court. Good for families on a budget. Also, a free happy hour every evening - looked nice, but we did not have time for it.

    « Our stay »

I was unfamiliar with this Best Western but soon found how uncomfortable this visit would be. We had 2 dogs with us. The room was upstairs and there are no elevators on this premise. I didn't know this but we accepted this issue. When we arrived there were people partying quite loudly. Boom box type of loudness and this includes another loud stereo in the parking lot(vehicle). I first thought it will calm down since it was early. Our purpose was to vacation and rest. This group of people were on the premise and continued to party ignoring the needs of a very small baby who screamed for a long stretch of time over the partying. We saw grounds keepers around these people but they did nothing about the noise. I called around 8 or so and complained about the noise and they said they would check on it. If they checked on it the noise would have reduced. The manager told me I should have called back...really? Why do I have to monitor the noise in his hotel? He never checked on it. This went on until 1:30 in the morning. We were stuck. We had plans to go to the biosphere and had planned on leaving our dogs in the room that we paid extra to have the dogs. Needless to say, we never made it to the biosphere since a check in is at 3 pm. We couldn't leave our dogs in the car. The manager basically told me that different people have different opinions of what noise is! What! I told him i knew the difference between noise and full fledged partying!!!!!On top of all this, we had a water bowl on the carpet and 3 fleas we're in it. I brought them to the manager and he first blamed the dog downstairs who was loose and tried to attack my dogs. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you about that experience. Then he blamed it on my dogs for bringing in the fleas. My dogs are on flea medication. Now I have to worry about these fleas in my home. I don't recommend this hotel. I wanted a full refund which the manager refused. He offer me some points which I didn't want. So hopefully corporate will know how to treat a customer.

« Great Place to stay »

Very clean room, bed, sheets, towels, etc. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty with lots of options - one of the best spreads I have had. Great staff - Mariam was awesome at Check-In. The complimentary happy hour was a nice perk - we will stay again!

« Housekeeping are thieves, did not turn in my pants I accidentally left »

The room smelled horrible. Housekeeping are dishonest , thieves who did not turn in a pair of my favorite jeans I left behind. The pillows hurt my neck and the bed caved in to the middle. Neither my bf or I slept much at all. DO NOT STAY HERE!

« Clean, comfortable but bring ear plugs if a lite sleeper. »

Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. You do hear flushing, showers and people talking thru the walls when it's quiet with no tv. They do have a bar not a lounge, it's located in the breakfast buffet area. Pool looked awesome, clean grounds. Tip: Try to get a corner room as then you only have 2 adjoining walls.

    3
    « Only okay »

This hotel is a bit run down. The carpet in our room was dirty and there was a tile falling off the baseboard in the bathroom. The hot tub and pool area needs cleaned. The kitchenette isn't functional- there's a cooktop, but no pots or pans, dishes, or silverware. We appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening and the breakfast was nice. This place just needs a good cleaning and some repairs and it would be much nicer.

« looks good but looks are sometimes deceiving »

At first glance I was very happy with this Best Western but I'm afraid things went downhill fast. We had a lot of problems. First was the singing toilet, they did come and fix that but the toilet needs to be replaced since it doesn't flush properly. Then we noticed the strike plate on the door was missing one of the screws and close to coming off. someone came to fix this but then when we came back in the evening the security lock wouldn't close. They came to fix that the next day but the door does not fit properly and needs to be replaced. The other problem was the noise, not the fault of the hotel but you could hear every sound outside our room. People yelling and it sounded like luggage races up the walkway. If you don't want to be keep awake from the noise get a room as far from the social area and pool as possible. We were given 2000 points but I really think for all the trouble we should have been given enough for a free night. The staff at the hotel were friendly and our room was clean and the bed was good.

    3
    « Above average »

Pros:Nice friendly office staff, Good cleaning staff, Great daily social hour, live music certain nights, better than average breakfast Cons: Pool area rather loud most of the time, The outdoor walkways by the rooms are a poured cement that has ruts designed in them to give the look of tile squares. The result is a railroad track type sound of every wheeled suitcase or cleaning cart that passes over them. This sound goes on all day and evening.. Very annoying. If you want to travel north on Oracle Rd outside the hotel you have to go south and make a you turn. This can be very difficult and dangerous during peak travel times of the day.

« Great Social Hour & Breakfast - 'Tired' Building »

Stayed here 4 nights and found our room/section of this particular Best Western to be a bit "tired". (We asked for a quiet room and we ended up staying across from the Post Office which had trucks coming/going in the morning but still relatively quiet.) The best amenity was probably the Social/Happy Hour (between 5PM and 6PM (I believe) where they comped two adult beverages (wine or beer). It was a great opportunity to chat with other guests and share travel trips. The breakfast was also exceptional and offered a variety of options. Please note that the breakfast room can be very crowded so you may just want to grab your food and head to the room if you can't find a seat.) We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel location was proximate to the Tucson events that we wanted to do. Conclusion: Consider this hotel if looking for an "ok" value (when considering the included breakfast and Happy Hour) and you don't mind a dated hotel.

« Pleasantly surprised... Nice rooms! »

I love the rooms at this property. They were recently upgraded. It was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was good. The breakfast area is a little too small if the hotel is busy, so eat early! Overall I enjoyed my stay at this property.

    5
    « I Love IT »

You will love this beautiful 5 start Best Western, easy to get to from the interstate 10. You will be amaze how beautiful and clean the rooms are, the pool is heated and exercise room have excellent work equipment, the breakfast will blow your mind, the food is outstanding, and delicious. The staff goes out of their way to ensure your stay at the hotel is the best you every had. Close to all major shopping mail and excellent restaurant.

    3
    « Stay was okay. »

Bed comfortable, place a bit noisy. Breakfast was really good. Staff was helpful. Hotel was busy but the area is nice. Neighbors were very noisy and inconsiderate of others. Rates could have been better.

    4
    « It was okay »

Check in was great, very helpful and efficient. Nice place with large spacious rooms. Prices were a bit high, but it reasonable I guess (199.00) for king suite. The only real problem I had was it did not seem cleaned well. Drink rings on counter, no shampoo in shower and the rug seemed wet in some places. I'd stay here again if I were in town, lots of nice places to eat and shop close by.

    5
    « Kind of a Gem »

My wife and I stayed here on a quick getaway for work. We chose the hotel for its proximity to hike Ventana Canyon. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room and we thoroughly enjoyed the in ground hot tub. The breakfast was great with no complaints. Thanks for a nice stay.

« Overall nice stay - good value »

We stayed 3 nights and plan on staying when we visit Oro Valley again. Room was clean, staff was friendly, hot breakfast in the morning was good, with the exception the eggs were consistently over cooked and very dry. Wine/Beer in the evening was a pleasant surprise and enjoyable. Biggest concern: Hotel is classified as a non-smoking hotel, but every day we experienced problems getting in/out of our room and having to get past smokers standing in their door way smoking. Smokers were also out by the pool, some even smoked marijuana. Hotel does not have a specific area for smokers to go to and walkways and pool area does not have any no smoking signs posted. This we found quite disturbing. If this issue didn't exist, we'd give this hotel a much better rating.

    4
    « Not Bad »

The room given for the reservation was found to be on the second floor. This hotel does not have an elevator. A short half an hour later we were given a room on the first floor. The room was great. Clean and large with a wet bar.

    5
« Great Value, Location, Staff, and Some Bonus Features »

This hotel is an excellent choice for vacationers. The location provides good access to much of the best that Tucson has to offer. The hot breakfast buffet provides lots of options and the quality is good. There are also manager's receptions each evening providing each guest with two free beers or glasses of wine and munchies. Some nights there is entertainment. On two of the nights we stayed there, Troy Gray, a sort of Mexican/Spanish fusion guitarist played and he was just excellent. I could not believe we were able to hear someone that good for free at a hotel reception and I now have acquired three of his albums. TripAdvisor won't let me provide a link to his website or vendors featuring his music but it won't be hard to find. Just to the west of the hotel is an undeveloped area where you can get an up close look at a wide range of cacti and native plants/trees.

    « A little noisey »

We stayed two nights. Arrived early and checked on status on duty was Mariam who was very rude. Said to come back at 3:00 pm. When will came back sooner , she was gone and the next lady was much nicer. . They said the room was an upgrade and quite. All the rooms have doors outside ... so quite is not going to happen . You hear the role bags, the pool area , toilets, shower s and heaters. The room was in need of some updating . The bed and pillows not comfortable . Breakfast and evening snacks served in a building by the pool between Bldg . Standard items , very crowded .it was cold out , so sitting outside was not a good option . Over all for the price and being a diamond member . I would not stay here again .

    4
« Nice hotel for great price »

My room was nice, the free breakfast and happy hour were a nice touch, and the accommodations were comfortable. The outdoor walkways that ran in front of the rooms made it noisy when people walked by or talked outside. The front desk staff was very nice. I'd stay here again; it was a great value and conveniently located.

« The good and the bad »

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Foothills and Suites this last weekend. There are many good things about this place: 1. Great, hot and fresh breakfast in Pjs cafe. 2. Clean rooms when arrived and clean grounds 3. Quick and friendly check-in There were some bad things that should be addressed by management 1. After the first night there, I left a tip on the toilet seat for the cleaning service. When we came back that night, the tip was gone, and the room was not cleaned, nothing restocked. I went to the front desk to complain and she handed me towels and coffee and said how surprised she was this happened. 2. After the second night, I talked to the cleaning service and confirmed our room would be cleaned, telling her of the experience the day before. When we came back that night, the roomed was cleaned, but my husband's phone charger was gone. We went to the front desk and she said she would tell the manager. 3. We told the front desk that the toilet was running all night but she never sent anyone to look at it. My husband fixed it. 4. There was a guitarist playing at Pjs cafe Sunday night, but we were never told about it and he barely had an audience, although I came down right at the last song. We would have loved to have been told about the live music and bar, as we were just sitting in our room bored. Luckily, the bar tender gave me my two free beers that we would have had from the social hour. After all is said and done, I would like to hear from the manager about the theft and the taking of the tip without cleaning the room. I would like to come back as the location is the best for where we were visiting but am not sure yet...there are other hotels to try.

    « Love this hotel! »

Stayed here while working in Tucson and it was wonderful! The rooms were clean, great amenities, and the staff was wonderful. The food was great as well. It was perfectly located in the northern part of Tucson, but if you're looking to go south easily, this may not be the place. I would definitely stay here again!

    1
« Recent travel to Best Western »

Horrible experience!! We were there for only one night and asked for a quiet room after traveling from the East Coast. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the rooms are not near the lobby area. We had to cross the parking lot, go up a flight of stairs and then enter our room. The room was dated, musty and dark. Next to us was a room full of fellows that decided to party all night. Cars were going in and out of the parking lot and people were getting out to "mingle." I called front desk multiple times to stop the noise and eventually threatened to call 911. No apologies the next day, no calls back from management after calling several times. Do not book this hotel!

    3
« Annual Gem Show Trip »

There was a lot of renovation happening at this motel. Due to the gem show going on, the rates per night were more than DOUBLED. THe breakfast was good and the staff was very outgoing as well as helpful. The room was somewhat smaller than other Best Westerns.

    2
    « Needs a remodel »

Needs to be fixed up. Tile and wall paper need to be repaired. Pool and jacuzzi needs to be warmer and seems old. Parking lot had a bus stay over night that ran the engine and was very loud. Also ther was a lot of glass in the parking lot.

« Very nice hotel, close to Sabion Canyon »

Our room was upgraded when we checked in. Very well kept property. Breakfast was very expanded. We arrived at the tale end of social hour, so all we had was a drink. Food was empty, so not sure what was available. Also, the room had a very comfortable bed.

    3
« short stay in an under-equipped room »

The room was clean, the people at the desk were nice and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was fine. However, the room had no closet. I've never been to a hotel, even the tiniest room in the cheapest hotel, without a closet. No hairdryer. I heard someone ask for one at the main desk, so they have them, but they don't keep them in the room. I find that bizarre. The toilet in the room made a 3-4 minute squealing noise after each flush. We asked to have it fixed, and it no longer made the noise after a flush. It randomly made the noise every hour or so, all night long. I was awakened several times throughout the night. The only way to stop it was to flush the toilet. We're likely never coming back to Tucson again, but if we do we will not be staying here.

    « Very nice »

This BEST WESTERN was one of the best best westerns we have stayed at in the TUCSON area. There were some problems as in breakfast coffee empty often and evening social hour running out of food way early. Both problems more with staff visiting to much and not paying attention to food situation. Painting of pool area causing many paint flakes in pool and hot tub. In room no closet or hooks to hang clothes or jackets. Now positive features. Rooms were clean, large, very comfortable bed. Pool is heated and jets in hot tub nice ( not bubbles and please GET RID OF ALL BUBBLE HOT TUBS, THEY ARE STUPID.) Social hour was nice and the music was most excellant. A man with a guitar playing spanish music. Nice dance floor on roof of restaurant. Location is nice and central to all attractions.

    4
« Great location at a good price »

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western location but felt it needed a bit more attention to detail. There was no clock or radio in our room, one side of the bed did not have a lamp, there were no bathroom cups, and housekeeping never responded to our request for an extra blanket and almost-daily request for an extra towel and clean washcloths (we got them from the front desk eventually). There is a good deal of construction/renovation going on in that area, so our days started early whether we wanted them to or not! However, the complimentary breakfast was very good, including a free newspaper, and the daily social hour with free beer, wine, and appetizers was fabulous?a real treat after a day of sightseeing! And a nice surprise! The location is ideal and the area is safe, convenient and relatively clean. Updating the building and rooms should be a priority, though. We would stay here again, if only because of the location and the social hour!

    2
« Deferred maintenance needs attention »

Numerous items needed work in room. Garbage carts sitting around full of garbage. Bed was worn out and needs to be replaced. Couldn't use loyalty points for room-said they had too many people that day.

    5
« Fun place with great service »

This in typical budget southwestern hotel with some special features. First it has some suites with 2 rooms where you can put the children to sleep in one room and party in the other. Then there is the happy hour where they serve drinks and a light snack, and some evenings live entertainment. For us there weren't enough towels, blankets and pillows but we called reception and they send us quickly. Great deep, heated pool where we had fun with the kids making nice memories and burning the calories from the breakfast. The west side where the garbage is has the best sunset views while the east facing rooms you can see sunrise if you wake up early. I liked the raised shower head.

    5
    « Awesome Place »

This is the best place to stay in Tucson. It's in a safe area and everyone working here is fantastic. The rooms are modern, clean, and the bed is super comfortable. Look forward to my stay here everytime I come to Tucson.

« Bring ear plugs and a sleeping pill. »

We had a very noisy night here. From the people that clean the rooms to noisy people next to us. Had to call management at 4am to have them confront the people next to us to quiet down. I do have to say management did take care of the situation. Good job. As far as the staff. They were wheeling cleaning carts and talking on the two way radios till 10pm. Then people in general not being courteous. Talking loud as they walk to their room I can't control that. The walls are very thin in this establishment. When checking out I did complain about the noise and spoke to the manager who took 10% off our bill. There breakfast was good but was very busy at 7am with no place to sit. Next time I will find another place to stay.

    5
« Nice place for a get away restful weekend »

My wife and I were visiting Tucson for the first and we booked this hotel for 6 nights. Rooms are spacious, clean and all amenities are in perfect condition (including wi-fi). TV picture is not of great quality, but we don't have the time to watch much tv in hotels anyway. Breakfast is great and items selection is ample. A couple of time though, we had to bring our food to our room for lack of seating (just shows how popular the place is). Overall very nice staff. Check-in/check-out experience very smooth and pretty fast.

    5
« Best breakfast and staff »

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and even had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for the guests. The room was modern decor and clean. The breakfast was alot more than we expected, and was a full breakfast with many quality choices.

  • 4
« OK but just a touch above average »

The rooms are on the small size, but our double queen had TWO fridges, which is nice, and a microwave and coffee maker. It's not a very quiet place; sound travels between the rooms with ease and we ran fan full time to mask it. Our room did not get serviced one day but usually it was fine. The morning breakfast was adequate though not fancy. It can get pretty crowded in the breakfast room and there were a number of transient workers staying at the hotel so it was busy at 6:30 upon opening. But the food was pretty good. Used the outdoor hot tub once on a cold night and it was nice and warm. It was on the inexpensive side and a decent room for the price; we'll go back again.

    2
    « Needs a lot of updating »

This place was clean and most things worked but there were lots of problems: The shower was too low of pressure plus you got shots of hot or cold water when your neighbor ran the water. The room was dark and disappointing for an executive suite. Bedroom was too small, kitchenette had nothing included so you could cook or eat there, some door hinges squeaked and the bedroom door had the ironing board and iron hanging on it so it slapped the door whenever you opened or closed it. The walls were also paper thin so you could easily hear other people in adjoining room. The breakfast was decent but the place was hard to find, hidden between buildings with no directions to it. It was very crowded and the poor lady working in there just could not keep up. The staff was friendly and responsive and the beds comfortable but this place needs a major remodel for sure. Not what I would expect from a Best Western Plus Hotel.

    « Average Plus »

We stayed here 2 nights...both good and fair Good: Nice pool area, Happy hour (drinks and food) and GREAT music. We had small king , with 2 mini frigs, microwave. Breakfast better than most motel ones.. Price...it was $20 less a night than others. Fair: Room and facility. Walkways could use a good scrubbing. Room temp was either hot or cold.

« Bad music, bad drinks. »

So called social hour is 2 hours of bad guitar music turned up really loud. Very noisy and no insulation in the walls. I called the front desk to complain about the noise and was brushed off. Would NOT recommend.

But was just right for this solo traveler. The room was clean, separate living room, bath area and balcony. Outdoor pool Had a great view of foothills( on top floor) free breakfast was better than average, managers evening social had 2 free drinks & light snakes. It was just right for me, remember, I had one of the larger rooms :) I would stay here again. « From Oct 14, 2017 to 9 Dec, 2017 Stay: Best long term "Inn-suites" Hotel in my varied experiences. »

AWESOME: The Facilities, Staff, from top to bottom, as well as the Cleaning, and Maintenance crews are first rate! All are customer oriented and care for the customer is evident throughout the operation. Pool is great, Bar, Happy hour, is a good way to spend early evening. And the breakfast is varied and very good. My wife is picky and she is OK using the clean and easy to find laundry room. It is and easy 10-15 minutes to University of Arizona, to University Banner Hospital and Cancer Center as well as many shops and restaurants ranging from gourmet to fast foods. My wife and I have made Best Western Innsuites Tucson Foothills Hotel and Suites our "go to place" in Tucson.

This is where we usually stay when we are in Tucson. It is convenient to shopping and dining and is a short drive to I 10. The staff has always been very helpful. This time we had to extend our stay by one day as mu husband did not feel well. No problem.

    4
    « Very pleasant »

I loved the heated pool, which I had to myself. It was cold outside, but, I am Alaskan, so no biggy. The room wasn't super clean, but, definitely, not bad. The tub didn't drain, properly, which I reported on my way out. The staff was calling maintenance to deal with it, as I left.

Awesome Stay. I really enjoyed the provided happy hour and Continental Breakfast. My suite was very Clean and Comfortable! I highly recommend! We had 5 rooms booked total and they gave us an awesome group rate. Everyone in my party enjoyed the stay.

A good value for money hotel, near plenty of restaurants, the Tucson mall and the Premium outlet stores in Marana. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, microwave, and 2 fridges in our room. There's a heated outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and a breakfast area next door. You get 2 free drinks per guest during social hour in the evening.

    « Lots of Comfort »

A good breakfast, grilling facilities for a more inexpensive dinner in the room, a nice warm Jacuzzi at the end of the day, and plenty of seating (a desk, AND a table for dining AND a sofa!)...it was a good stay. What most BW's should be.

« Very nice airport hotel »

Stayed at this Best Western before next day flight from Tucson airport. Check-in early was no problem. I was upgraded to a suite for no extra charge. Grounds were beautiful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. All in all this was the third Best Western I stayed at on this trip and I was extremely impressed with all the staff and quality of this hotel chain. Would definitely stay here again.

« Near hiking options and good food. »

Good location for hiking, microbrews and food. Chef Alisha's Bosnian and European food only a couple of blocks away and a reason in itself to stay here and visit ups on! Room clean and quiet. Comfortable bed.

The pleasant and helpful staff. Competitive rates. Cafe' atmosphere for the breakfast and happy hour times. Comfortable and adequate rooms with the expected amenities. When in Tucson, BW Foothills Hotel is our home-away-from-home.

Stayed here for a business trip. Breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately I Had bites marks from some bug. Staff did not handle well. Will not be staying here again. Contacted management and they did not seem to take the issue serious.

    « Frustrated in Tucson »

Disappointed in confirming scheduling lodging arrangements. Initially, we had arranged and confirmed three nights. The first two nights were fine; however there was some misunderstanding regarding the third night lodging arrangements. We communicated that we were going to use rewards points to cover the cost of the third night. When we returned for the third night, we couldn't access the room and were told we had been checked out. I met with the front desk clerk who advised me that we would need to re-check in only if a room was available. Our personal items were stored in the maintenance/laundry room & were located after some confusion. The frustration of the situation could have been avoided had we been informed when we checked in.

Used a 2nd time when I found the1st experience with BW in the same trip to be very satisfying. Beds look clean at 1st seeing them, then the comfort of bed was great. Also used the frig both occasions but not the coffee pot. Used BW twice without planning to, now without question I would reserve ahead and plan on staying.i think your marketing should focus on this senerio get us to reserve before the trip. This way you for sure get the 1st floor non smoking 2 b3ds etc

    « Tucson was Great »

We enjoyed the Best Western here in Tucson. They gave us a great room. We had a separate living area with it's own TV, large bedroom with huge Jacuzzi tub with another TV. Bar with a cook-top and microwave. It was really just an apartment. Very clean, and everything worked. Very reasonable rate also. Ask for room 159.

« Good time in Tucson »

this hotel offers a nice pool and the clubhouse offers a good breakfast and afternoon happy hour. The staff is friendly and the service is good. Free wi fi is a nice touch. The location of the hotel is great and is easy to get to from Hwy 10. The grounds are well kept and there is plenty of parking.

« Clean rooms but don't forget outside when cleaning »

Rooms were clean and very nice. Contruction was being done, however, there were nails and screws left out our entire 4 night stay. Cigerate butts were in the same place on stairs and hallway the entire 4 nigths as well. Pool was very nice. Horrible beds.

    « Unresolved problem »

The last time I stayed at this property I had a great experience. This stay I had a problem with the TV that wasn't fixed during my weeklong stay. Disappointing. Otherwise the hotel is a good place for me to stay while I'm in the area visiting my elderly parents. The location is convenient, the property is well-maintained, the beds are good, the breakfast is fine, and the rooms have been refurbished except for the toilets which are so low it seems like the seat is only 12 inches above the floor.

We spent three nights at the Best Western InnSuites Tuscon Foothills and it was a great stay. The hotel is old, but very well maintained and the sleeping rooms have been modernized and are very nice. The breakfast and happy hour was outstanding. The staff was great!

This Best Western was handy to the Highland Games at Relito Park., We love the pool/patio area with the restaurant/bar on-site. Our King room had a kitchenette just like a time share. We roomed here last year and will room here again for the games.

« Not what it used to be »

We have stayed at this particular hotel frequently in the past and it always exceeded our expectations. This time we were appalled to find the state of things. The room had stains on the carpet and mold in the grout in the bathroom. There were cigarette butts lying everywhere around the grounds, even though it is a non-smoking establishment. There were stains on the sheets and a pile of cigarette ashes on the counter under the sink. Hubby had to kick a cockroach out of the way of our door when we arrived at our room. This place was always spotless and fresh on other visits. I don't know what has changed, but it certainly wasn't for the better.

    5
    « Great Place »

Newly remodeled. Everyone was friendly and seemed happy that you were there.. Jeff the manager went out of his way to insure we were happy customers. Though it was a quiet family place it had a festive atmosphere. Good breakfast. Great value!!!

« On our way to Tombstone »

Room was very clean and staff very accommodating. Overall though the location was noisey and the collection of garbage early in the am awoke me. Unfortunately little I could do to remedy this, once it had happened.

« Too much construction noise »

I stayed for 5 night at this hotel. Check in was fine and I received a bottle of water. The room was difficult to find towards the back of the property. It was a normal room with all the normal items in functioning order. The only difference was that it had a "stovetop" in a small area trying to be a kitchenette. Mostly it just seemed in the way. I would say that the room was older, but only the bathroom really showed the age that badly. I worked nights and slept during the day. I had to change rooms during my stay because the construction noise was so bad that I could not sleep or even talk on the phone when I called the front desk. I was given another room, but I felt like they thought I was trying to get an upgrade at no cost. The breakfast building is towards the back of the property by the pool. It was a nice area that also functioned as a bar in the evening. The breakfast was above average with all the usual food. (powdered eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles, pastries, etc...) The pool area was nice and the space between the buildings on the 2nd floor was connected above the breakfast building. Tables and chairs which were nice. The second room I had was a suite. There was a bar area, a sitting area, and a separate bedroom with a sink. The bathroom was by the bar area. I thought that was odd since you could not access it from the bedroom. Overall, not a bad room. The front desk area had computers, but one of them was not working when I was there. The lobby was a little awkward, but okay. The location wasn't bad and there was an Eegee's across the street. Not much else in really close walking distance. But, within a mile there were more options.

« Great place to stay »

We only spent one night here, but it was a good night. The room was clean and looked newly remodeled. Our bed was comfortable and the room had all that we could have needed. Breakfast was amazing, and there was seating available inside or out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I called to see if I needed to do anything to check out. She said she could do it over the phone. I told her we weren't quite ready, but would be out by the check out time. She said that was fine, and she would do it then. By the way, check out was not until 12:00. That gave us time to go out and ride our bikes on the Tucson Loop and come back for a shower before leaving. It was a wonderful stay. We will stay here again when we visit our family here again.

« Nice Clean Room & Great Breakfast »

Room was nice and clean. Bed comfortable. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a motel. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, cereal, and much more.

    « Great Location »

Staff was very nice. Location was perfect for where we wanted to go. We visited the Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon and Saguaro National Park (West). Casa Adobes is a nice area which had everything we needed. The place is older but is remodeled. Our room was updated and clean. We faced the courtyard which has a pool. That was loud until close at 10pm. Breakfast was surprising. Much more than standard Continental. Waffles, eggs, bacon etc?

« Good overnight spot on way to Mexico »

We have stayed at this hotel for many years. The rooms have been upgraded. We usually have items for the freezer or refrigerator as we go from summer home to winter home and the in-room fridge is usually adequate. If not, the staff has been happy to keep our frozen goods in the freezer in their bar/breakfast room for a night or two.

    « Tucson Vibe »

I arrived at the Best Western Foothills mid evening and found it on a busy street in a mixed residential and retail neighborhood. The rate I had reserved was quite reasonable for a weeknight. Check in was very friendly and I headed for my room. There is an array of different buildings, but I found where I was going without a problem. The room was a good size, but bore no resemblance in size, style, or architecture to the photos on the hotel's website. The air conditioner was set to 82 degrees, and took a very long time to cool the room down even a few degrees. Furnishings were in good condition and very clean. The curved shower rod was sagging, but the towels were excellent. The outdoor pool and whirlpool are in view of a row of picture windows in the lounge and its rooftop tables, but it started raining before I could decide whether I wanted to be in front of such a big audience. It also put a damper on the other activities in the courtyard area (like the big gas grills that were being used to make dinner for a group) so I wasn't bothered by noise during the night. Breakfast in the lounge featured a wide variety of hot and cold items. Checkout was quite slow with only one desk clerk on a Friday morning and guests with special requests ahead of me. There were some interesting characters in the parking lot as I departed, but nothing that caused any concern. It seemed part of a whole vibe around the Best Western, or the neighborhood, or maybe the city as a whole. It's been a very long time since I was last in Tucson so I can't say. I would probably return to the Foothills if I had business on this side of town.

    « Fantastic service! »

We always stay at the Best Western Foothills every time we are in Tucson and not having been here for a year we were amazed by how much the property has changed. It is clear that the staff and management have been working tirelessly to update and remodel not only the rooms, but PJ's was BEAUTIFUL! As always the staff was kind, professional and attentive, delivering the pack and play we requested and even setting it up for us, the breakfast always exceeds our expectations, however this time we were able to enjoy the remodeled building as well. Our room was spacious and clean, with newly updated paint and carpet and the beds are amazing! The staff at the desk is always helpful and my family would like to thank Ashley at the front desk, Jan in PJ's and the general manager for going above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. Great value, location and staff! We'll see you next time!

Good value for the money. This is not a "resort", but a basic motel that is in the process of slowly being updated. Pool area is nice. My room was worn with old carpeting and scuffed walls, but all was clean and worked. Breakfast and social hour were a bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful.

« Great Hotel with Fabulous Amenities »

I stayed at Best Western for 6 nights while I was attending a training conference. The breakfast buffet and lounge made for a great start and end of my day. The free shuttle was incredibly useful, as I was able to receive convenient rides around the city (as long as it was within the range of about 5 miles from the hotel). The room was clean and comfortable, and the in-room internet service was greatly appreciated during my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others who are seeking a great place to stay for business, vacation, or whatever their particular needs may be!

    « Room 270 »

The registration area was quite nice and the staff was helpful. The breakfast was well cooked and very tasteful. The rest of this is based on room #270. We were told this was a freshly remodeled room at check-in. The bed was comfortable but did not appear to be new or was the carpet. There was patches in the wallpaper, unfinished wood in the area of the refrigerator, scratches and scuffs in the furniture, the task chair had gouges in the arms, the drains in the bathroom are very slow. Not the worst room we ever stayed in but far from the best in the same price point. A/C is not well controlled because the thermostat is located in a poor location causing part of the room would be very cold in the sleeping area.

The room was ok. Standard queen room. Didn't expect to have a pull down bed. Took up most of the room. My husband bruised his toes tripping over the frame which stuck out from mattress. The room was clean, well equipped with soap. shampoo and conditioners, and very comfortable. They offered Happy Hour with beer, wine and snacks and a hot buffet breakfast. We stayed two nights, not consecutively. The second night was the first Wednesday of the month and in addition of Happy hour that evening they also offered free hamburgers and hot dogs. « Comfortable Place with a Convenient Location »

Although this hotel is undergoing some renovations, none of those affected my stay. I found the Best Western InnSuites Tucson Foothills to be comfortable, relatively quiet, and convenient short trip to the location at which I had business. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating, and I must single out Tiffany at PJ's Cafe for her customer-friendly attitude during the evening social hour. There is one thing about this hotel that potential guests should know: it has an awkward access off Oracle Road. If you are leaving the hotel for sight seeing or a business trip, and you need to travel north on Oracle Road, you must first go south and take an immediate U-turn. Not a big inconvenience, but something to be aware of.

    « Disappointed! »

We have stayed at this hotel for several years now and it seems that every time we go back it is more and more in disrepair. We used to like the in-ground jacuzzi rooms but that got to be popular with people who party to much and fight. We started staying in the rooms with jacuzzi tubs and that was great for a while. Now it seems that they are also popular with party people, which would be fine except that it gets loud enough to hear in our room along with wall banging and getting high outside our door. The tub had mold in it so we didn't even use it and we were not able to get a different room. We won't stay here any more. Unfortunate because the staff is incredible.

« Good Value for the Money! »

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days after selling my home and preparing to move from Tucson. The hotel room was very comfortable, especially the bed which had excellent quality linens, as well as very good towels. The room was very clean, and well equipped. The only thing I didn't like was the location of my room. It was not adjacent to a parking spot, but was located off the interior pool/courtyard area, which made it difficult to heal baggage in and out of the room, as the available parking was not close to the room! Ask for a room with parking directly outside of the room entrance. The breakfast was very good and the staff was pleasant.

We got a great rate online. However, you get what you pay for. Hotel was an older property. Room was smaller than we are accustomed to at Best Western properties. Very pleased with the location as it was north of the downtown area, a short distance from Oro Valley. Excellent breakfast provided. Easy access to nearby restaurants.

« Huge rooms, nice staff, and perfect location! »

I cannot say enough good about this hotel! The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (suggesting places to eat for dinner in Tucson). The room was gigantic, but still cozy! It was a suite, so I loved how private the bedroom was from the living room and kitchen (which, in addition to a refrigerator and microwave, also had a stove). The pool was really nice, and the location was perfect! It was so nice to be within a mile of pretty much every chain eating establishment (in addition to some local gems), a mall, and Target. Great for picking up odds and ends I forgot to pack with me on my trip! Despite being quite large, the hotel is also really quiet, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So if you're staying in the Tucson area, I highly recommend staying at the Best Western.

    « A good place to sleep »

Not the nicest or the fanciest Best Western but nice enough. Just stopped for the night and the room was clean and the bed comfy so it provided what I needed. Good breakfast in the morning, too. Not a great location if you're planning on other activities but a good enough location to sleep and have breakfast.

We stayed here for two nights and the staff was amazing very helpful the rooms are clean and the ac works great major plus in az summers the free breakfast was great eggs, sausage potatoes, biscuits and gravy and you even get free drinks and appetizers for happy hour in the evening the only down fall is its an old property so you can hear what's going on around you but we would stay her again if in the north side of Tucson

    « Lovely Hotel »

We had a wonderful visit in a great hotel with a genial and professional staff who were knowledgeable and caring. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with all of the usual choices, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, danishes, several choices of bread, tortillas, peppers and onions, shredded cheese, pancake and waffle batter, orange, apple, and cranberry juice, bananas, apples, and oranges, as well as coffee, tea , oatmeal and cold cereal. There was 2% and whole milk and the buffet worker was continually replenishing everything. The laundry was clean. The pool well maintained and stocked with towels.

This was our fourth stay here and we have never had a bad experience. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. There is always parking available. The pool area is quite nice and PJ's puts on a superb social hour and serves some pretty good food for that event as well as a very good breakfast. This is one of the better properties we have stayed in over the years.

« Broken heart on Special Occasion »

A room that was confirmed as available a month previous to our stay and was promised to be held for us was give away. It was a large room with a beautiful view we reserved for our 16th anniversary. We were so deeply disappointed, as we were anticipating that room. The room we were placed in was much smaller. Nothing more than a 10% discount was offered. It was offensive.

    3
« Decent value for the money »

I recently stayed at this hotel during a business trip. The staff and the overall room decor were good. The only issue I had was the trash outside the rooms and in the breeze way. Hotel staff needs to patrol the area once in a while and pickup trash. It's unfortunate that some people can't find the trash can and choose to throw their trash on the ground but otherwise a good valu for the money.

    « Overall Good Experience »

The rooms were nice and the amenities were very nice. We did ask for a certain amount of towels and blankets, before arriving and they were not there. When we called about getting more, they brought more, but again did not bring the needed amount. This is the only issue we had, and is very minor in comparison.

I stayed at this motel a couple years ago and they were nice then and very accommodating for me this time. The only problem was the bathroom the corner on the floor the tub is rusting out not sure why no one said anything. Other then that my 3 day stay was very good and there breakfast in the morning is hot and cold.

    « Good stay »

We stayed three nights in the hotel. The location is a bit away from the main attractions and approx. 2 miles from the next food location. The hotel itself could be a bit cleaner. The breakfast offered a broad diversity. The look of the hotel is more like a motel then a standard Best Western Hotel. Overall it is a good stay for a low price.

    « Excellent service »

When checking in the day manager was very accommodating & went beyond normal assistance. The breakfast staff was also very accommodating with my diet restriction. I needed more towels & they were brought to my room within 5 mins after calling. The room was outstanding! Very quiet, clean, & comfortable. It has been updated & the updates are very nice. The bed was very comfortable as we're all the different selections of pillows.

    « Date Night »

the bed was too hard and AC did not work properly. The private Jacuzzi was nice. Room and common areas were clean and staff was very nice at check in. Had to request 4 extra towels as there were too few towels (only 4 to begin with) for a room with private Jacuzzi. We only received 2 and had to call back and have more towels sent. Breakfast was good but over crowded. Overall a good experience except for the bed. We both woke up very sore.

My go-to motel in Tucson for over 15 years. Located near my needs and room and breakfast are always satisfying. Adjacent to a Village Inn where a discount is given upon mention of Best Western. Prior to my visit to the hotel, I called to ask about the deal involving the coupon book (The Stay-cation package). I asked if I would need to pay that $71.99 price or if I could pay the price I found online. They young lady, although very pleasant to talk to, did not know the answer. She took my number and said she would call me back after she looked into it. She never called me back. So, I went ahead and made my reservation online. At first I was assigned a room. Outside my room was a bag of trash that housekeeping forgot to pick up. Then the room next to me was rented to several workers in orange tee-shirts. These workers were very loud, dropping the f-bomb word, every other word. They left the door open and anywhere from 4 to 8 were there at any given time, each with a can of beer in hand and several beer cans, open and closed on the sidewalk NEXT to me door. I decided to go to the front desk where the young man working there was eager to help (definitely a plus for this hotel). He quickly assigned us to a different room . Although we did not hear any neighbors and it was still fairly quiet even though we were right next to the stairs, Tuesday morning and 8am there was some sort of maintenance work being done outside our room when we were trying to sleep. At check-out time, I called the front desk and no one answered on my first attempt. I called back again and a woman picked up who sounded a little short with me. Maybe there were several people there checking out, I don't know. I asked her if I needed to come to the front to check out and she said no since I pre-paid for the room (although this should have been explained when I checked in). I was also expecting the hotel to be in the nice part of Tucson. however, my son and I saw several homeless people passing by the property. I was visiting Tucson with my 17-year-old son. This is our last summer together before he turns 18, making it all the more important to our family. The property was okay and for the right price, I might stay again, but I will be checking other properties first.

The staff was very nice, the room was so comfortable, bed was an extra large king and had so much room to move around in and husband loved it. Had a small seatinig area and little little kitchen. But it was just great. Would stay there ag ain and in fact would want the same room. Breakfast was really good. All in all an A+.

Great stay at the Tucson Best Western. Newly renovated suite, and the grounds looked great. Breakfast was awesome, with lots of variety. They have a great place to hangout at PJ's for their happy hour. Really well done, kudos to your team.

« Amazing property and customer service »

The Best Western Innsuites Tucson Foothill is a spectacular play to stay. My room was spotless and very well appointed, the breakfast buffet was inclusive and delicious and customer service was top notch through out the property (something hard to find these days). I recommend this location whether you are on business, vacation or just passing thru. You won't be disappointed.

For the value you can not beat it. The staff were courteous, helpful and accommodating. The full breakfast was was a great part of the value and was continuously stocked, the rooms were very clean and in good order. I'll be staying here again on my next trip.

« Wonderful hotel. Will stay again. »

Great hotel. Service by staff was wonderful. Only problem we had was that we were put in the regular king room rather than a suite and had to be moved. I would suggest calling ahead a few days to confirm reservation and room type.

Our hotel room was quite average but met our needs. The pool was a welcome relief and our breakfast was decent. This property was not a stand out but was entirely satisfactory, comfortable and a good value.

Friendly staff offered warm chocolate chip cookies upon checking in. Nice variety of breakfast selection for price of hotel. Room was a decent size for two adults and two children. Refrigerator and microwave were very useful!

    « Just OK »

It's affordable and clean rooms. But property itself is VERY desertlike , southwestern and probably older. The free breakfast was okay. Not bad at all. But it passes for just having to stay a short stay. And it's cheaper than those closer to UA. A 15-20 minute drive away from the University works.

We spent 3 nights here and were treated well. Breakfast was well prepared and attention to delivery was good. Pool area very nice. I would definitely stay again if in the area. Friendly staff and quick to resolve any requests.

We had a very enjoyable stay. We were extremely pleased with the breakfast every morning. They also offer a happy hour every evening however we had family obligations and were not able to attend.Next time we see we are in Tucson we would for sure stay here again.

    « Disappointed »

I booked this hotel because it claimed to have pillow-top mattresses and that was not the case. A two inch topper doesn't make the mattress much more comfortable. The room was clean and the attendants courteous, but I've had better experiences at other locations.

« Get what you pay for »

Front Desk Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were as well, though their complimentary breakfast wasn't exactly The Ritz Carlton. They could put out a box of FRESH donuts and make everyone happier, probably saving the money on just the latex gloves the staff use pulling your breakfast out of prepackaged boxes for you. Room was clean and I smiled at the extra touch the housekeeping staff put twirling your towels into neat little packages for you to disentangle. BUT, this place is a mecca for contractors so expect lots of noisy remodeling, large trucks, lingerers, and ongoing cell phone chatter outside your door. Parking is crowded and questionable, but available if you want to utilize vacant businesses nearby and walk a few steps.

    « Needs help »

Staff is pleasant but they keep the ac off when unoccupied. Our room was over 99 degrees at check in. The facility had people trimming hedges outside my room at 6.45 am. So much for sleep. Breakfast was well prepared. Property is under construction but my problems did not relate to remodel issues.

Reserved a king bed suite for $72.00 a night. We were very pleased with our room. Quiet, clean and comes with a full breakfast and a happy hour in the evening. Great friendly staff, it all worked very well. Great restaurants with in walking distance. I highly recommend and will stay again.

« Clean, cozy room, issues with climate control »

Overall a 3.5 (but TA doesn't allow for the .5) The positives: The room was clean and cozy, but well appointed. We don't usually unpack for short stays, so not an issue. They provide a microwave and fridge, which is nice, but it takes up a lot of real estate in the room and counters. Housecleaning and staff are friendly and courteous. We also enjoyed the diner adjacent to the property, Village Inn, although it closed the weekend after we left. Nice staff and good pie. The negative. Outside noise early in the morning can be an issue (but we're used to that), more annoying was the climate control issues. The ac/heat unit is aimed right at the bed and for some reason we could not get the room to cool to a reasonable temp so it was either freeze or sweat all night. Some other BWs have used plastic hood like devices to divert the fan so the air circulation in the room is more effective.

This is our go to place to stay when we travel to Tucson every couple of months. Best Western is our go to brand for two reasons: 1. The quality is consistent. 2. The membership points add up quickly. The BW on Oracle is convenient to Northwest hospital, Tucson Mall, and REI. The property is clean and well maintained. We always have a comfortable stay here.

Great low price, but this site has been remodeled and is clean and quiet. The full breakfast is good and the evening happy hour well set up and professionally run. A surprising pleasure. We will be back.

« Just don't go here! Filthy! Odor! Not clean! »

This hotel was absolutely disgusting! There was the worst odor I have ever smelt in a hotel. We had a jacuzzi suite but the jacuzzi looked like it hadn't been taken care of since it was put in somewhere in the 70's! Bugs were on the bottom. The walls were stained and filthy. The door was not properly sealed so the guys smoking weed outside were able to give us a sniff of their smoke all night long as it sealed through the half inch crack which also allowed hot air to pile in our room. The bathtub I. The bathroom had some little bugs crawling around in it that we had to remove to shower. We won't be staying at a Best Western as staff didn't try to even make anything right. They gave us a "well that's too bad!" and printed out our receipt upon check out even after I explained our less than desirable experience. Needless to say we switched to a Marriott nearby for the remainder of our trip. This was a waste of our money and time! Not worth checking into!

    2
« Room and Staff fair. A lot of noise if near pool. »

This facility is tired. Stay away from the pool unless you are going to be up late and don't mind the noise. Breakfast is good. My opinion one of the better I have encountered. Will I go back-probably as long as price is competitive.

We checked in for a one night get-away into the presidential suite. Great price, great room, great staff, great time! There was a complimentary happy hour, 2 drinks per person and a complimentary breakfast, both delightful! I am already ready to plan another get away to this exact location!

« DO NOT STAY HERE!!! WORST EVER!! »

First off, the only reason I give this one circle rating is because it will not allow me to submit my review with zero! I booked this hotel a month in advance for 3 adults. I booked and paid for a one bedroom with a king bed in the bedroom and a fold out sofa sleeper in the living room. We were traveling from 12 hours away but due to terrible traffic, it took us 16 hours to arrive. We called twice during the day to let them know of our delay and they assured us there would be no issue. We finally arrived at 1015 pm. While the front desk clerk was very nice, we got to our room and the keys did not work. Then, once a maintenance person let us in the room, we found it was not a one bedroom/living room combo, but a bed and sofa bed in the same room. Additionally, there were empty beer bottles in the room and a single bottle of water for 3 paying guests. We went back to the front and the clerk apologized. It was obvious she was struggling as the phone was ringing off he hook and other guests came to the lobby to complain about various issues they were having. She was doing her best and we have no complaints about her. She was on the phone with the manager, Nick, several times during our initial check in, and two subsequent trips to the front. After the first time we went back to the lobby, we were reassigned to a one bedroom/living room combo as we originally booked/paid for. Upon arriving to this room, we found it in need of repair with bubbling wallpaper, a barely functioning air conditioner, another single bottle of water, and when opening the sofa bed, we found multiple hairs in the sheets. It was GROSS. It also had a very weird floor plan in that the toilet/shower were in one room but the sink was in the bedroom, so you would have to walk into the bedroom to wash your hands/brush teeth, etc., which doesn't offer a whole lot of privacy for friends or extended family traveling together. We went back to the front desk and asked for our money back. The clerk was again on the phone with the manager who said he would have to "look into it" and since he was not there, it would have to wait until tomorrow. He did not offer to have any of his employees go verify our complaints and after a 16 hour drive, two room changes to dirty, gross rooms, we left and went to another hotel. Other than the front desk clerk, I cannot say one single positive thing about this place. I especially would never stay here with my kids.

« Read my review to understand my rating... »

I booked this facility based on the Trip Advisor website. Got two rooms. One for me, the wife, and the dog, and another for my daughter and six mo old grandchild. It was listed as "pet friendly" (it is), and also as restaurant and cocktail lounge on site. We wanted that so we could trade off without loading a baby back up just to eat (and I REALLY) like a beer after 8 hrs driving! This place has neither! Even the restaurant that used to be next door has closed. This is NOT Trip Advisor's omission. I just now checked the "official" Best Western site (I'm a rewards member), and it specifically says that a restaurant and lounge are onsite. The rooms are very nice! The staff, so far, has been VERY NICE (but why wasn't I told when I called the hotel directly for the reservation?!?). My only complaint is lack of truth in advertising! I could have stayed at about 40-50 other places in Tucson that fit my most important criteria for this specific trip. That is important to me. Other than that...this is a nice place, but they need to take care of business! I chose this one and I'm sorry. Looks like delivery pizza AGAIN!

I arrived late and phoned ahead. There was no problem with that.My luggage was lost by the airlines. Your employees were helpful with that. « Nice reasonable place to stay »

This was a nice place to stay and to meet friend. Lots of outdoor seating with opportunities for a little privacy. Breakfast and happy hour were well done. Room was of a good size. I would return especially if I was meeting friends.

« Great, comfortable rooms with a beautiful southwest exterior feel: »

I stayed in a room with a single king-sized bed and it was hand-down the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The sheets are soft, and the comforter is made of a cooling material and the pillows were awesome as well. Very modern feel, and this is the best price/reward room I have ever purchased. Medium mini fridge with freezer portion, kitchen counter and sink, 40" wall mounted TV, microwave. Roomier all-tile bath with tub shower, plugins on the lamp bases, loveseat, lots of shelf and drawer space, desk but no chair. Awesome AC. Excellent lighting, lots of natural light at 6:30A, very quiet. Medium quality medium-sized pool 3ft to 8 ft depth with wide stair entry, gorgeous patio layout overlooking pool with lots of furniture, hot tub, gym, lighted tennis court, but no net or lines. Hot continental breakfast and Village Inn is so close, it is almost part of the property. I stayed in room 262.

« First and last time stay »

We had no water in bathroom except for the toilet. When staff was told they were very condescending and rude. Won't stay at BW again. The rooms are very small with bed too close to door. Old and needs updating.

« Interesting place, close to dinner »

The wife and I stayed here as we had stayed here before and it was close to a restaurant where we were planning on having dinner and did have dinner. We had a suite which was very nice, but the layout was a bit strange. The breakfast in the morning was very nice, better than most of the breakfasts at other hotels in the local area and across the country.

    « Relaxing stay »

Nice location far off the freeway noise. Room was pleasant, bed and pillows comfortable. My only issue was the preset air conditioning which we couldn't change. Made for a far too warm room to sleep. Got up several times during the night to kick on the air and cool off the room. Good breakfast and we were very pleased by the happy hour and complimentary drinks. Had a good time getting to know some of the guests while enjoying the wine and beer.

Very reasonably priced. Clean, updated room with microwave, frig and individual cup coffee maker. Nice pool and hot tub, free happy hour and breakfast. Miriam at front desk was particularly friendly and helpful!

    « Great amenities! »

The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and informative. Very clean room with an iron, coffee maker, 2 refrigerators, plenty of counter space and 2 luggage racks. Breakfast was amazing! Something for everyone. We had 2 queen beds- one was very comfortable but the other sloped toward the middle a little. The thick curtains do not extend all the way across the windows so bring eye mask if you're like me and like a very dark room. This will be my go to place when I come to Tucson.

    3
    « OLD & TIRED »

This hotel is in bad need of some renovations & is somewhat overpriced compared to other Best Westerns we have stayed in recently. The front desk staff, including the Manager, were very friendly & accommodating. Jan, who ran the hotel`s PJ`s restaurant, was exceptionally friendly & efficient.

    « Needs Help »

I had reserved a room online thinking it was going to be a King Suite, also requesting an upstairs room. Upon checking in I was told that the room was not a suite, and that there were no available downstairs rooms. I told the receptionist, that I had requested an upstairs room to begin with, and that the online booking was deceiving. I was given the keys to the room and upon entering first noticed,a musty odor. As I had just completed a medical procedure, I was tired and decided to just relax, after pulling back the coverlet I saw stains on the pillows, the blanket and the sheets did not appear to have been changed. I contacted the front desk and told them the room had not been cleaned, and I was not going to accept the room. After a few minutes, a hotel worker appeared at the door asking me what the problem was, I told him the sheets and the room were dirty, and again I called the front desk. The worker took my key and went back to the desk to retrieve a key for a different room, upon returning he said it was a downstairs room,HA! I said no, I was not going to take a downstairs room, I was only going to take an upstairs room for safety reasons. He returned again with a new key and told me the room was around the corner, and left. The room was not around the corner, it was in a different wing of the hotel. In walking around trying to find the room, I noticed trash, dead plants, gum littering the grounds. I entered the room and saw wallpaper peeling off the walls, the old veneer on the cabinetry was also peeling off, the microwave was filthy, the refrigerator filled with crumbs, far too much furniture in the room, the lamps did not work, there was mold in the toilet and the woodwork and walls had probably never been repainted, the sheets however were clean, and it was a suite. A two burner stove top was connected to a power-strip that also ran the frig and the microwave, there were no glasses, napkins, etc. The receptionist called to ask if the room was satisfactory, and that she had given me a "free" upgrade. The room price was actually the price I had paid online for the suite I thought I had reserved. I was so exhausted by over 90 minutes of discouragement,I told her it was OK. I later found two plastic coffee cup lids stuck into the cushions of the couch. However, it is not OK,it is not OK to allow guests to struggle with their reservations,it is not OK to have people pay for filth and slime, and not feel comfortable due to the possibility of contracting some potential disease due to a lack of cleanliness. This is sad, this hotel is in a great area of town, and I have stayed at almost every resort and hotel in the greater Tucson area. I had never stayed here before, and quite frankly the only reason why I did was the proximity to the 5 hour medical procedure I had earlier. The other hotels I usually frequent were booked for Easter weekend. There is potential here, but it will require strong management, and a financial commitment to renovate the entire hotel.

    1
« Broken lamp, broken toilet, bed bugs. »

Not what I expect from a franchise hotel that charges about $100.00 per night. The front desk took $10 off the bill when I reported these issues, but you can probably do better in Tucson. Too bad, it looked like a nice place from the street, but I couldn't sleep once we found bugs in the bed.

    « I Could Live Here »

You just know when you have selected the perfect place to stay when you are greeted with freshly backed cookies at the check-in counter! From the get-go, I was promptly tended to and checked in in a matter of minutes. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. The room had everything I needed and then some! I had a refrigerator, iron and ironing board, phone, plenty of pillows and linens, TV with remote, TV channel guide, small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, Kleenex, coffee maker, coffee, complimentary bottle of water, desk, plenty of electrical outlets... I could just go on and on! The hotel had a pool and served fresh, free breakfast every morning and even offered 2 free drinks at Happy Hour! Who says no to that? The hotel is located on a main road that takes you right to the heart of downtown Tucson. Everything I needed was available at locations nearby and I never got lost. That's a bonus! Quite honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that I was scheduled to perform at the local comedy club, I would never have left the room! Do yourself a favor and book a room here when you're in town!

« Not the best in Tucson »

This is a converted older property with good and bad points. The renovation is new and the rooms are standard Best Western décor with all the amenities. The part to be careful about when booking is the room descriptions. A king studio suite is really just a standard sized room with the only difference being a loveseat instead of an armchair. Doesn't add much to the room since the TV is fixed wall mounted over the foot of the bed so you can't watch it from the loveseat or the desk chair. The bed is comfortable like most Best Westerns. They have a free breakfast like all Best Westerns but the hotel wasn't designed for it. The breakfast room only has 8 tables inside so seating is minimal but you can eat outside weather permitting. Really overcrowded. The room corridors are narrow so the housekeeping carts block them most of the day and you have to move the carts to get a suitcase past them. The good part: I had occasion to contact maintenance and they responded quickly and were friendly and helpful. Can't really recommend this property even over the other Best Westerns in Tucson. As a Best Western Diamond level member don't expect the usual on arrival.

Very nice staff, limited features, decent breakfast. Could improve with more healthy choices (bacon, eggs, waffles, pastries are a good starts but don't work for vegans or heart patients. Soy or almon milk, egg whites, non-red meats might be good.

    « Very Nice! »

A group of us stayed here for a scrapbook weekend. We stayed in a suite that had a bedroom, kitchen and sofa sleeper. It was very clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great, as it had waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal and much more. It's definitely an older hotel, but still very nice. We had a great rate on the room. It's also in a convenient location. One negative was the wifi. We had trouble getting in and we would lose connection often. I ended up using my cell as a hot spot so I could use my laptop. I would recommend being prepared for that. However, they do have a desktop for use in the lobby.

Overall it was ok. Staff is friendly and courteous, that is a plus! I had requested a bottom floor due to family member being handicapped and upon check in, we were placed on second floor. Family member struggled going up and down the stairs. Looks like all Tucson lodgings were sold out everywhere for the weekend, if I would of found an easier access room, I would of been willing to have forfeited the nights stays and found a more accessible room. Carpet Tile transition tape upon entering our room was lifted up, very dangerous and could cause a person to trip and fall. I did notice that there is ongoing renovations in rooms.

« Old hotel - clean, but needs improvements. »

Everything was ok. Hotel needs a lot of improvement. PJ´s restaurant smelled like an open sewer... not nice if you want to have breakfast there... Rooms are very clean, that´s great! but everything is extremely old, some light bulbs weren´t working, coffee machine was old but functional. Toilet seat was loose. Good costumer service at check-in. There´s a lot of noise... you could hear everything from the room next door.

Friendly, efficient check-in staff. Clean room & good breakfast. I did not see any elevators but lots of stairwells so access to the upper level was reasonably easy. The outside area seemed a bit grubby with various stains & cigarette buts lying around - I guess they clean once a day but not more often than that. All in all I was happy as this hotel is good value for money & well-located.

« an oasis for the weary traveler »

A clean, quiet oasis for the weary traveler. Powerful shower, fluffy white towels, huge comfortable bed, fast internet... even decent coffee in the room! Fast, efficient check in. The pool was clean and refreshing and the complimentary breakfast went well beyond the normal cold cereal and burnt coffee. Would definitely stay again.

« Lots of Stairs, no elevator, and few ramps »

This Best Western is quite nice and clean, but we were unable to obtain a handicapped room that was also pet friendly for my wife's bad knees, so she had to suffer the stairs to the 2nd floor. This was interesting since nearly all of the guests we encountered (including a tour bus full that stayed overnight) were older travelers. I didn't personally see any children during our 3 night stay. Something else I found interesting was, that over our 8-day trip around the western states, and stays at multiple Best Western hotels, this was the only one that their clientele had caused the management to feel the necessity to warn guests on placards in the rooms, that if any towels, sheets, blankets or comforters (of which there were none used) were found missing, that guests would be "sold" the missing items for the prices listed. When I inquired about this at the front desk, I was told that, yes, thefts of these common guest room items was frequent enough that they had to start the practice of charging guests for them! On the plus side, a very nice Village Inn restaurant was right next door, and they give a nice discount on meals if you show your card to them. While we were there, the dog-walking chores fell to me, since my wife wasn't able to negotiate the steps that often. The hotel sits next to a partially paved road that intersects the main thoroughfare, and this area is great for pet walks. On the other side of the wall from the hotel (behind the facility) is a large area that from many angles resembles a beautiful southwestern desert garden, filled with desert cacti and other flora. Alas, from the walking path in this area, looking towards the hotel, the appearance is that of an impoverished 3rd world country, with piles of trash of every description littering the landscape. I've included photographs of this area, of both the beauty, and the wretchedness. This badly trashed appearance made me very reluctant to walk our dog behind the hotel during the nighttime hours.

    « Motel with age »

Old motel: No elevator. King bed location in the room was a bad location. One light in bathroom out. One took its time to light at times. Breakfast on the other hand was excellent. Internet was excellent. Noise level was also acceptable.

    « Maintenance / Dated »

This could be a fantastic hotel if someone showed some TLC. There were maintenance issues that were annoyance, noise issues in the presidential suite and the website needs to be updated. The grounds are nice, the pool and hot tub were nice, although dated. Happy hour, breakfast, etc. are great amenities but the product is not worth the price.

    1
    « Dirty and gross! »

Just gross overall. Dirty bathrooms, dirty common area behind the breakfast building, dirty pool and pool area. The staff could have cared less about anything. "Food" during the social hour reception was popcorn and broken potato chips-no joke. What a rip-off.

« Great hotel for the price! »

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 5 years, it has always been my first choice for return visits. Friendly staff and nice accomodations. My room was very nice and the bed gave me a good nights sleep. The Jacuzzi was nice and hot but the jets were not at full function. Breakfast was lacking as far as the staff being able to keep items stocked but the food was good and so was the selection. All in all our stay was very enjoyable.

    « Ya! »

Good place to stay. Comfy beds. Clean bathrooms. There's a pool in the middle of the property. The complimentary, hot breakfast is located next to the pool. Food is good. Place is conveniently located to other businesses. Staff is very helpful too.

    « Breakfast ran out at 8:45AM »

If you want to eat get there really early otherwise you will be left with the scraps. Early as in no later than 8:30 because if you get there at 8:45 the food is gone and no more is served. Note breakfast ends at 10AM. Also plan to use one of your towels to put under the door to keep insects and other things (dog poop - yes dog poop) out of your room when you sleep at night. It was a nice surprise to have to pick up dog poop from inside the room first thing in the morning.

« Very Dated Decor and poorly maintained property »

We were very disappointed with this "Hotel". I used quotes, because it really is a low end Motel with décor and furnishings that appear to be from the 80's and 90's and haven't been well maintained. The pool was in poor repair and did not inspire us to swim. There were cigarette butts strewn about the property, and the overall feel was low end. They advertise as having suites but our wetbar suite meant that it had a small sink and a 2 burner cooktop next to the bathroom. We couldn't have used the cooktop without going out to buy a pot or pan to cook as there are no dishes, pots or pans, or silverware in the suite. So it is there for show only and so that someone can click off a cooktop as a feature on some list trying to make this property seem nicer than it is. At least one other site rates this "hotel" as a 3 star property. Don't believe it. You will be disappointed if you stay here. On the good side, the staff we interacted with were pleasant, and the room, although dated did seem to be clean.

    « Foothills Best Western »

The Best Western Foothills is our choice when we visit Tucson. It's convenient to about everything in Tucson but far enough out to be quiet and relaxing. The social period, breakfast and amenities are very nice. The employees are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area.

    « Value Hotel »

We selected this hotel because it was reasonably priced and it was in a convenient location for us to visit friends in the area. We had ample room for the several days that we were in Tucson. The room was clean and comfortable. We had no problems except for the WiFi, which did not work properly in the room. Nevertheless, the WiFi in the hotel lobby functioned efficiently and was fast. The management was aware of the problem and were trying to fix the problem.

« nice hotel, excellent breakfast »

There was construction going on the day I checked in. We were given a room next to the area they were working on. I called the front desk after a couple of hours and asked how long the work would be. They assured me the work would stop at 7 pm and resume the next morning at 9 am. That was acceptable to me and it happened just that way. The room for the price was very nice. The airconditioning was good and quiet. The breakfast was good, plentiful, and fresh. You have the option to dine outside if you want, but there was more than adequate tables inside. They stocked the containers often. Very good meal to get the day started. Overall for the $52 I paid for the room, it was a very good hotel. I would stay again without hesitation.

    « Great Value »

Stayed here while moving my daughter, a UA student. A little far from school but hotel is in a nice area. It's clean, affordable, free breakfast, free wifi. No complaints. Would totally stay here again.

    « Great room, but . . . »

The room was perfect. From the cleanliness to the bed everything absolutely 100% perfect. Probably the best room in 50 nights over the last year. The social hour and breakfast also excellent. However, several guests had loose dogs. One took his two dogs for a dip in the pool. An employee WATCHED this happen and did nothing. Another on a multiday stay had her dog run wild. When this guest was reported to the front desk the clerk acknowledged there had been several complaints. Yuck. The pool itself had clear water, but you could write your name in the grey scum covered tiles. The general manager stated he had received no complaints about dogs. Seems there is a communication problem the the motel.

    « staff very friendly »

Stayed here two nights, very friendly staff and the rooms are clean. no problems with.room. breakfast is really good has many thing to offer like eggs hashbrowns and yogurt and happy hour has lots to offer. would definitely come back every year

    « ALWAYS A GREAT STAY! »

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times since it has opened. Born and raised in Tucson, and not far from this location. It has ALWAYS been a great stay. Nice rooms, PJ's is good, but not fancy, standard buffet fare. Great restaurants very close by, I know, been frequenting them for decades it seems. Have to click solo this trip, but great for couples, especially jacuzzi suites.

    5
« Consistent value and comfort »

I know my stays here will be quiet and clean and the breakfasts will be plentiful and varied and prepared onsite by folks who enjoy what they do! This older site is being further renovated and updated and continues to be very popular with a variety of guests who appreciate the cleanliness and value in rooms and the grounds. The Village Inn cafe offers guest discount and the food is good and the pies tempting! Highly recommend this Best Western and the VI

    « Dirty & Unkempt »

Filthy hotel outside the rooms. Carts full of trash parked everywhere. Carts full of dirty linen parked outside along the hallway where there are rooms. Stairwells, alcoves, hallways, pool area PJ's pub area, etc. all filthy needing a thorough cleaning, sweeping, butts picked up, etc.

    « A Great place to stay!!!!! »

Try it out you will not be disapointed! Excellent Staff, very professional & friendly!!!!!!!! My wife & I love this place and always stay here, when we visit Tucson!!!! Simply the best 'Get-A=Way', We found!!!!!

    3
    « Return visit »

Been here before, truth is it was better the first time. 2 for 1 at the bar and free cooked to order breakfast helps though. Get a room in the front building, parking is terrible in rear buildings, small spaces and little room to turn around. I will stay elsewhere if I can't stay up front. And the in room coffee is awful, I think the coffee maker never gets cleaned.

    « Recent Stay July 2016 »

Recent stay in Tucson, Arizona. Not in room much during daylight hours.Air conditioner was not cooling down room properly when I retired for sleep at 8:00 P.M. Too exhausted to change rooms. Awoke at Midnight for good internet service and room was still too warm. Great front desk staff during check-in and check-out. Great Airport Shuttle Service and Driver !!

    « Better values elsewhere »

After waiting 45 minutes in line to check in, we were shown to our non-smoking room that smelled of stale cigarette smoke. When we found the tennis courts we had called to confirm were available, they had no nets. Employees seemed mostly intent on doing exactly what their job required and nothing more. Rooms, however, were clean.

    3
    « Just fine hotel »

This Best Western was a little below average compared to others I have stayed in. The hotel was sold out, and when I checked in at 10pm on a Friday night, there were several guests in lobby and only one employee to help guests. Rooms were fine - nothing fancy. The staff in the breakfast room were very helpful, but the room was packed and very hot - would have been nice to have a bigger breakfast space. Hotel seemed clean and all staff were nice and helpful.

    4
    « Excellent value »

I have stayed her about 6 times always with about the same experience. Comfortable beds good location and clean. Their pool is well kept up and is very nice. They serve a complimentary breakfast. A lot of properties offer a piece of stale toast and a cup of cold coffee. This place is excellent. They have eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy fresh waffles, and more. Everything is fresh. My only complaint is that the bed is inches from the A/C. If the bed was moved it would be more comfortable. Prices are quite reasonable. I'll be back.

    « always a great time »

we come to this hotel cause it is always nice, clean, great breakfast and happy hr and it's close to home for us. we love being close to places to eat and to buy things if needed. the hotel has always been a nice place to be at and we usually recommend it to our friends when they need a place to stay.

    « Bad Choice! »

I have to say, I have never had a bad experience at any place reviewed well by my fellow Trip Advisors....until Now! The hotel staff were nice, and tried hard. The pool was shut down....never told why. The first room I was given, the one I reserved for my solo Stay-Cation, included a Jacuzzi tub, that was disgustingly covered in other's hair! The fridge in the kitchen was wide open, and not cold. The wiring under the stove counter was hanging down, and looked very hazardous. The whole room needed a scrubbing and updating. Loaded my things back into the car, and made a second trip to talk to the nice front desk clerk. Next room I was given had no Jacuzzi tub (I did after all reserve that), and had bugs in the bathroom that I have never seen before. I live in Tucson, and I still don't know what they were. In addition, the mattress cover was filthy. Back to the front desk, and there were no other rooms to be offered according to the front desk clerk. The place was hopping with people, and the outside walks were filthy. All of this at 930 pm. Lucky me, I was charged nothing for my experience. Don't even want to drive by the place ever again!

    « Just a relaxing private stay »

Excellent amenities and room location which allowed peaceful, private quality time for relaxation and option of pool and other services without additional time or waiting necessary. Location was accessible to all features or desires within Tucson offering accessible transport and nearby restaurants and grocery, etc.

    « exceptional »

The BW Foothills has become our favorite place to stay when in Tucson. The location, the beauty of the foothills, and the quality of the hotel all make it an exceptional stay for us. It proximity to several of the biggest malls in Tucson make it a must for the traveler who is shopping. The locations convenience to restaurants, shopping, and the stunning beauty of the area make it a great place to stay.

    4
« The best value and comfortable room »

This is the best place to stay when we visit Tucson. The staff is helpful and very friendly. The beds are very comfortable. The room is clean. It is showing its age but they do a good job with the upkeep. The free breakfast is very good. Not very many hotels offer eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, and waffles as part of the morning offerings. Overall this is a great place to stay.

    4
    « Convenient Location »

close to the places I needed - medical, shopping. Clean and the wet bar was nice to have. 20% discount at Village Inn next door. Patio bar closed early so did not experience this amenity. They do give you a couple of drink coupons upon check in

« No Room at the Inn »

We stayed at this hotel once before with no issues. The place was clean and quiet, and the staff very professional. Unfortunately, the second time was not so pleasant. Once the weekend hit, the hotel was overrun. The pool area was jam packed with so many people, there was no room in the pool or a single chair to sit on. There were glass beer bottles, kids diving and doing flips into the pool, food and garbage everywhere. The pool party went on from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. both Sat. and Sun. We complained 3 times and nothing was done. After 10 p.m., we saw 2 carloads of people leave the hotel. The day we left, we told the onsite manager what had happened, he was rude to us and made excuses, saying it was hot, so everyone was in the pool. Hotel management seriously lacked in ensuring the safety and comfort of the guests. We will not stay there again because of this.

    « Third stay »

June 24, 2016 was my third stay at this motel. Stephanie checked me in and was first rate! She had to answer several phone calls during he process and I was very impressed with how friendly, calm and professional she remained! An asset to her employer! I hadn't been in my room long when I received a phone call from Meghan (sp?) at the front desk just checking to be sure everything was satisfactory with my room. At that time the only minor thing was the desk chair was quite squeaky & she said she would let maintenance know. Within minutes a maintenance man was at my door. After spraying and making sure everything was tightened, it still squeaked so he said he would bring a replacement, which he did in a very short time. My other 2 stays have been the previous 2 December's so it was nice to find that the a/c worked great! The facility had been undergoing a lot of renovation during me previous two stays. The room was clean and nicely decorated. I generally have a hard time sleeping comfortably in beds other than my own but all three times at this facility I have slept great! The beds are very comfortable and that rates high with me. I met up with family there but had my own room and being alone, another important factor is feeling secure in the room. There are the two locks on the door along with a peep hole. As my room (101) was a corner room at the back of the property, I was also pleased to find locks on the windows where they could be opened but not far. The rate could not be beat and they honored a $10.00 coupon they had given me at the end of my December 2015 stay, which sweetened the deal even more. Breakfast is quite good and offers several protein choices so it is not all carbs. Great waffles and there are TWO waffle irons. The downside is the breakfast room is quite small and it was very warm and stuffy even with the ceiling fans. I had to keep using my fan to get occasional relief. This trip we managed to beat the crowds by minutes so we did not have to wait for a table. There is outdoor seating by the pool and on the side of the breakfast room but the pool was being heavily used and being June in the desert, it was hot & humid outside. There is also a Village Inn right next to the property that offers a discount by showing your room key. They are famous for their great pies and their hot chocolate is wonderfully rich and sweet! We have plans to meet up at InnSuites again in December and I look forward to it. It is also easy to get to off the I-10. Lots of nearby shopping as well.

    « Mostly good experience »

Stayed in presidential suite. The hotel mgr was very made sure that we were taken care of. Due to some cleanliness issues we had with previous stay. We did have a small cleanliness issue that we were able to take care of ourselves. Empty shampoo bottle on the floor in bathroom and tub needed wiped down (soap residue). Other than that the room was very nice and clean. We love the beds. They are very comfortable. Breakfast has always been good. Actually needs a larger breakfast room when the hotel is full. Not enough room inside or out. Nice landscaping, pool.

    « Awesome! »

Love this place! The room is super comfortable and the air conditioning is ice cold. Which is wonderful when it's over 100 degrees outside. It drops down to 60 degrees. Awesome! They have a happy hour from 5-6:30 where you get two free drinks, and they have appetizers available.

    « 54th Wedding Anniversary »

My wife and I stay at hotels and resorts on a regular as part of our vacations and business travels. This experience at the Best Western Inn Suites at 6201 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704 was exceptional. We were celebrating our 54th Wedding Anniversary. The service by every staff member we encountered was personal and exceeded our expectations. From the time we arrived till the time we checked out our stay was flawless. We will continue to use this hotel every time we have a need in the Tucson Region. We would highly recommend this hotel to ANYONE who appreciates personnel service and value.

This hotel employs courteous, professional people. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The property is lovely with plants and flowers. The pool was wonderful. We also enjoyed the late-afternoon happy hours and the morning hot breakfast. We will always choose this property for our vacations to Tucson.

« Comfortable but very noisy coming morning!!! »

Something must be done about the extremely noisy wheels of housekeepers carts against tiled corridors floors!! The resulting cacophony was very annoying and awoke my husband and I at a number of intervals over our two night stay. As all hotel corridors are external and situated directly along windows that are less than a foot from guest's beds, this situation makes for constantly interrupted sleep! If you don't mind being awoken very early, might not be a problem for you; however, if you would like to sleep in a bit, forget that idea!

We stayed at this hotel when we visited tucson for a conference. The rooms were decent. The location is good and within a short driving distance from restaurants and stores. The staff were helpful. They have a seperately area for breakfast and has good options. There is staff at the breakfast section who constantly replace items and talk to customers to check, which is very good. Overall, a good value for money.

« Nice place, but too much going on. »

Nice location but too much updating going on at once. Front entrance torn up, many units being redone. And they are booking rooms in the middle of the work. My advise, update one section at a time and keep the paying customers away from the mess. PJ's was a welcome surprise, a small Café near the pool. But it needs to be open longer in the evenings, 5-6:30 ???

They put me in a room next to a room be redone, sounded like the hammer was going to come through the wall. « Total Renovation almost completed »

As a returning guest for 18 years, this latest update is a vast gain over a previous redo. Rooms and baths are bigger and the furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. The site remains a quiet oasis so near a major Tucson street. Breakfast is consistently plentiful and tasty A daily "happy hour" is a popular extra guests can enjoy. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. I have never been disappointed here. I'm anxious to return soon.

Called the front desk, they came up and told the folks to keep it down, it lasted five minutes and it was back up. The room was small, and there was mold on on the ceiling in the bathroom. When I checked out, the young lady was very nice, apologized a couple of times, let house keeping know-

« Noisy place; tired buildings; disappointing »

Three nights at this hotel were more than enough. Very unsuitable for a restful night's sleep. 100 people and children in pool on night one screaming and shouting until 10pm. Woken up at 6:10am by loud mouthed men waiting outside breakfast room, waiting for it to open at 6:30am. External walk-ways damaged and dirty. Built before roll-along luggage was invented, because they had deep ridges between tiles that woke us up when luggage was bumped along the external corridors outside our bedroom. A very disappointing stay with little sleep. We had an inward facing room on the upper floor. Noise echoing up from people in the courtyard-swimming pool area below was excessive. Spacious rooms but the hotel design, which would have been attractive in the 1970's, is not practical today.

« Noisy Guests; Staff is not protecting peaceful guests. »

This was my first stay at a BW and it was terrible. Low life guests under the influence partying till late night. Boombox in the room next to me. Night staff did not stand up for me; they just called and warned the offender without taking firm action. Disturbance did not stop. I had to move to another room. Management and staff should be firm with offenders and throw them on the street if they do not follow the rules. I expect piece and quiet at a hotel after 10 PM. That is a basic expectation. Hoteliers have a higher standard of care toward their guests and should protect those that are peaceful and obey the rules.

    « The Best Western »

We have stayed at other BW hotels, but this one was by far the best. We liked everything about it. The suite, breakfast, social hour, and my encounter with all staff members was a positive experience. The manager even went out of his way to assign us a suite that satisfied us. We had an emergency, and had to leave early. They were so understanding, and even helped me load the luggage in the car, since my husband was in the hospital.

« Nice stay in Tucson »

This hotel is good for short term stays in the area. It's close to a busy road so there is noise which dies down at night. The rooms they call "suite" are really just regular rooms in size. There is nothing special about them. So no need to pay extra for that. Overall the hotel is ok but nothing special. Good for one or two nights, but not for a vacation.

    5
    « Consistently Excellent »

Whenever I go to Tucson I always stop here. Excellent service and a very good value. PJ's, their little breakfast restaurant is the best I have ever experienced. The staff is always helpful and informative from housekeeping to maintenance to front desk.

« Dirty Room, Furniture, Hot Tub not ready, cement crubling around base of Suite living Room& »

I think this is 2nd worse hotel I've stayed in Room-wise in the US. I've stayed here before about 8 years ago during business trips and did not experience this. Housekeeping was called back to our room several times due to cleanliness issues and dirty sofa was not attended to. I'm okay with old & occasionally worn furniture but I'm not okay with dirty. I wouldn't stay here again.

    3
    « Not too bad »

Rooms were ok, exercise room was terrible, and breakfast not up to typical Best Western standards. I stay in Best Western a lot and this one is not of the quality I usually experience. This is the closest one to work though so I stay there.

Nice place for families. Good breakfast, tennis courts, pool. But when they say a room is a "suite", they just mean a room. You have to get an executive suite to get two rooms. Book at bwsuite.com for good rates.

    « April vacation »

Room had two queen beds, desk, chair, microwave/mini fridge, coffee one pot, hair dryer etc. Big large hot breakfast buffet with real eggs and sausage, waffles, biscuits & gravy, 3 juices and great coffee. Had a swimming pool which we didn't use, laundry facilities were outside. Tennis courts we didn't use either. Nice flat screen TV. Free hi speed internet. Very nice motel to stay at, felt like a resort.

    « Great value. »

We stayed 4 nights. The breakfast was good, more than the usual choices. The evening reception was ok too. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was adequate and clean. The only negative I can say is that the sheets really didn't fit the bed. The bottom fitted sheet kept coming loose. Housekeeping kept making our bed everyday, but it still came undone each night.

    3
« Noisy but Good Value »

Price was within range for this type of hotel, but the walls are thin and outside noise (people getting up early and dragging their suitcases up and down the tiled hallway) was unbearable in the morning.

    2
    « Presidential Suite »

They state this suite has two bathrooms. Not even close; the toilet and jetted tub/shower are in a separate room, the tile on the deck surrounding the jetted tub is colapsing and has mold on it. And the sink and vanity are in the bedroom. I believe this is very deceptive . There is a mini kitchen with no amenities, plastic wear, bowls, plates etc. It has a bar to eat at but no chairs or stools to utilize it. There was an onion ring on the floor by the couch and a cock roach on the desk in the living room when we left. 1 small bar of soap (facial size) provided by the sink in the bedroom, none in the shower or kitchenette. It did include a complimentary drink and breakfast which we did not utilize.

« Average Hotel for price paid »

Having stayed at this hotel in the past I clearly forgot just how average this property really has stayed. Lack of improvements since my last visit 3 years shows. Room: First room we were given- Rusty door frame, stains on couch seats, telephone inoperable, a horror show of an outdated room. We were promptly moved to room 214, much newer than 116. Table in 214 legs wobbly, kitchenette very small. I should have known better when room description said "kitchen". Breakfast: Free for those staying at the hotel. It seems that people come from all over to take advantage. No checks and balances creates the "herd" as noted in a previous comment. The food good, staff very good. Happy Hour: again note the "herd" comments. The staff here Very Good and polite. Popcorn excellent. A little more research in the area would yield a much nicer hotel with "spa credits, golfing, etc". Disappointed.

    « 1st Stay Here »

Liked the fact that the rooms are suites. Gives a little more room to spread out. My son loved the room, and spread his toys out. The room looked like it was going through renovation or in the process. I'm a detail oriented person...so details catch my attention immediately. Calking around tub, eye sore! Why is the sink in the bedroom? Plus the plumbing is exposed under the sink. Come on....for the price of the room. Use a cabinet instead of a vanity sink. Made the room look cheap which it wasn't. Wall papered rooms...looks like paper hangers where inexperienced. Above the counter to kitchen area...glue all over the place. I'm done. There was more, but my son and I did enjoy the room regardless of a couple of attention to detail items. The room over looked the pool area. We slept really good...bed was awesome! They do have a nice business area in the lobby. Had my laptop, but did not check out the internet. Just enjoyed eating pizza and hanging with my three year old son. Will probably consider coming here again. Close to two big malls.

« The good and the bad. »

Good location and easy to find. Stayed on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday so it was crowded and busy. Breakfast, Forget it, was like a drive on a crowded freeway during rush hour. Business space was great, had a four terminal access. Staff was nice. Housekeeping was obstructive. This location was good and bad seemed like no middle ground.

hard to say, 1st time at this place, and a best western, I have always stayed at a comfort inn, or la quinta, but I didn't like the fact the floors turned our feet black with in an instant, and the fact that we were tired and had to move from room to room, we weren't offered any type of discount,

We have stayed at this hotel 3 different times and each time we have stayed longer. They are pleasant to do business with and the amenities are good. The breakfast is amazing and the social hour is tons of fun.

« A real bargain. A little old, but well maintained. »

Good location, old motel-style facility, but well kept and appointed. A colleague stayed in a nearby Comfort Inn and paid nearly twice as much for a room that was pretty well worn out. Nice breakfast.

    « Never going back »

Used to be nice, not so much anymore. (We stayed in one of the jacuzzi suites a couple of years ago and it was great. Very nice, clean, great amenities.) When we stayed there again in Nov 2015 it was a huge disappointment. Everything in the room was breaking, broken or falling apart; peeling paint & wallpaper, water damage, ripped/cracked furniture, missing light bulbs, the knobs in the jacuzzi tub kept coming off, and other than the bed (thankfully) it wasn't clean; dingy, dusty & cobwebs. At least the free breakfast was still a great spread and the small pool is nice and the staff were all courteous & professional but the room was awful. Won't be going back.

    « Traveling around Arizona »

In our short travel around Arizona we stayed here 2 nights. At check in Ramon was very friendly and efficient. Our room was clean. Breakfast and social hour was great. Laying by the pool was very relaxing if there were not rowdy kids around. Not that I blame them. They need their fun. Our room (108) by the pool was not a good choice for us. Too loud from pool noise and the clunk clunk of suitcases going by.

« Shocking disappointment and concerns for safety »

We always select Best Western wherever we go. Here, an aging physical facility was staffed by energetic and competent staff, but physical facility was appalling and "dangerous." Broken stone steps with sections missing, shaky railings, housekeeping supplies stacked around staircases, questionable food serving methods in "cafe" and more. Moldy rooms, loud, old A/C units, peeling wallpaper. My absolute jaw dropper were the washers and dryers located right next to the "cafe" entrance. How about the smells of dirty laundry and roaring dryers as you try to breakfast in a smoky room way too small for number of guests. BW needs to invest some funds into bringing this facility up to what is normally represented by its brand name.

    2
    « Bad Stay »

Main reason I choose this hotel was for the jacuzzi tub. The controls on the tub were broken. At breakfast, there was not enough seating available for the size of the hotel. Couldn't even get a additional pillow when requested.

    « Peggy's Review »

I chose this hotel because we had the option to bring our dogs. We ended up not bringing our dogs, and we were not bothered by any one else's dogs. We were happy that other rooms were available for our family members and friends. I enjoyed the wifi. We were pleasantly surprised. It was one of the better Best Western we stayed in. The food was excellent and it was prepared well and there was enough of it. I really enjoyed the scrambled eggs and sausage. Staff there was excellent. I enjoyed being able to sit outdoors also.

    « Excellent hotel »

What does this hotel get right, just about everything, it's biggest assest is its staff from front desk, to housekeeping to PJs bar, nothing ever seemed any trouble to them if you needed anything. The hotel itself is good too, good sized rooms, comfy bed, microwave, fridge, iron, ample car parking. Plenty storage options. For a "motel" layout it just felt right. Why not 5 out of 5 then, the one area that lets it down is breakfast, PJs is too small, the food choice wasn't great, to the extent that we eat breakfast at the Village Inn next door. I am told from talking to the staff about this that they plan to extend the breakfast facility later this year, that if successfull, would be the icing on the cake. We will be back in the future to see as this is the ideal accomodation for a Tucson vacation.

    « Breakfast disappoinment »

Room was clean, updated and nicely decorated. Loved the makeup mirror. Room was on the second floor facing outside. Some rooms face the courtyard. There are no elevators. Pool area felt cramped although my grandkids enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Went to PJ's. A small building within the courtyard for breakfast. The breakfast area was very small in size. Inadequate to meet the needs of the guests in this size of a hotel. There were about 10 small round tables crammed together with a narrow walkway to the area where the food was placed separating the food from the tables. Sure we could have taken the food way back to our room but we wanted to enjoy breakfast. On a warmer day we could have eaten outside as there were maybe 2 tables outside. Opted to go to the Village Inn next door. I resented the fact we had to do that. Will stay somewhere else next time we are in Tucson.

« for the Budget minded traveler »

This Best Western in the Tucson foothills may not be the least expensive - I suspect that there are some in that category. But for the money one can have a very comfortable room, experience very pleasant and helpful staff and have one of the best breakfasts of any that provide breakfasts with their room charge. This is my experience - only in traveling abroad with a tour group have I had dual or better. The complementary late afternoon wine or beer, the one time we were there at that hour, was delightful. It is not at all difficult to get to the mountains, desert or to a shopping center from this location.

    « Needs Work... »

We moved to this hotel after finding our previous lodging overpriced. Well, the price may have been right here but.... The room was awkwardly laid out with an oversized desk and chair blocking the entrance to the rest of the room. The kitchenette was ridiculously laid out with a 2 burner (?!) hot plate, a tiny sink and a dysfunctionally placed microwave (at right angles to the sink on a shelf difficult to reach for anyone shorter than 5'5"). At least the fridge worked and was easy to use. The bathroom was updated. Breakfast was a joke as the facility was much too small for the packed house trying to get a free meal. The pool was small and the hot tub mingy. Towels were available only on the unused deck chairs - no central location to pick up or drop off. And then there was the service carts with the square wheels - really? Noisy and strange for a Best Western. Won't be staying here again.

    3
« Good location, nothing grand »

We hoped for a kitchenette that was, as advertised, fully ready. The burners had no pans beneath them, the fridge was a mini with no freezer to speak of, and there were no pots/pans/utensils. The property was generally quiet and there was sufficient parking. Although it's near many places to eat, most of them require a vehicle to access safely. The pool seemed clean; the breakfast was typical and boring though the staff were friendly and polite. Don't even think about putting someone on the sofa sleeper: it was awful.

    « Bad trip »

My department booked this hotel . Room was ok but dated , I had a room on pool side which was nice but all including children are allowed to play and swim until 10 pm. So don't plan on any quite time until after 10 pm . I had my room serviced and found on my return that I was missing money left on the desk as well as my earbuds, after contacting managment I recieved no reply. I re contacted management two days later and they told me they had to wait until the employee returned from their vacation to make a decision? So I guess my time, money and items missing are not important, I felt violated, so no trust In allowing my room to get serviced again. What a tremble experience and service..

« Dirty rooms and management never responded to inquiry. »

We stayed here in November for a wedding for one night and rented two rooms. Me and my wife decided to pay a little more and upgrade to a whirlpool suite. The room is extremely dated and smelled strongly of deodorizer. The other smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. When we checked in the whirlpool in the room still had a little water still around the drain and little black hairs still in the tub. Called the front desk and asked them to please clean it up before we get back (6 hours later) when we got back to the room they left the little hairs and pulled the plug on the drain. When we checked out I asked to talk to the manager so I could get the extra 15 a night we spent for the upgrade since the reason we upgraded we were not able to use. She said there wasn't a manager. I asked her how she can deal with an issue with no manager she said she just writes it down. Tried for two weeks trying to speak to a manager nobody answered my call. We travel a lot to Tucson and will be taking my business elsewhere when we go to Tucson in the future.

I enjoyed my stay and thank you to the staff, everyone was so nice and willing to help. The breakfast is fantastic along with the happy hour drinks. Looking forward to returning and will stay here.

My husband and I stayed here after flying in from Colorado for my daughter's wedding. The staff was very welcoming from the moment we set foot in the door. The young lady who helped me at the front desk was helpful and courteous and even made sure we got a warm cookie straight from the oven before we headed off to our room. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely pool and jacuzzi but what sealed it for me was the complementary drinks that were provided for happy hour. Breakfast was wonderful with friendly staff. I can't say enough about our experience here and it was totally affordable to boot! I will definitely be staying here the next time I am in the area. I work in hospitality myself and have a true appreciation for a well run business.

Had an early morning sporting event in Tucson and wanted tor drive down the night before. Because we just needed a place to sleep, we were just looking for a clean hotel at a good rate. This hotel is worth the price you pay. They are attentive if you have a problem. The people are nice that work there. The mattresses are fine, but the pullout with the couch is very uncomfortable. I have stayed there multiple times and will again.

    « Totally Non-Accessible »

One of the worst handicap accessible hotel experiences ever. Too much furniture, doors too narrow, shower floods entire bathroom, sink was chin-height, rug too thick to roll on, no way to get around in bedroom, no way to get to windows if in a wheelchair. Other problems - A/C didn't work & never got fixed. No outlets that could be reached without either standing, moving the bed, or crawling underneath something. No ice machine anywhere near my room.

« Rude and unacceptable, ever!!! »

Rooms were being updated, since our last stay a year ago. Nice new gray tile at the entry and on the bathroom floor and in the shower surround. New granite counter in the bathroom, newly painted wall, you could still smell that fresh paint smell. One of the nicest decorated Best Western we have stayed, even the workers were very happy, friendly and polite. Barry that worked the breakfast is the nicest employee we had contact with during our stay. Barry is always smiling and has great customer service skills, a great character (we thought he was the manager) because he cared so much about all the guest each and every day. We also enjoyed his Choice of music. The General Manager ( Jeff) uses profanity lots yelling at employees, how unprofessional can you The newer looking room and Barry made the rating, not the GM.

    « Not a 3 star »

I reserved this room as a Priceline 3 star. It should be a 2 star. Had it been a 2 star, I would have rated a 4 instead of a 3 but my expectations for a 3 star were certainly not met. The carpet was stained and had desperate need to be shampooed. The bathroom floor had a few black hairs on it. Other than the cleanliness, the room was fine. King bed (not as hard as I prefer) and a small desk. The breakfast room had a very good breakfast but the room was full. There were tables and chairs outside so we were able to sit to eat. Had biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs. Potatoes, sausage. The apple juice was too diluted but everything else was good. Parking was pretty easy.

I liked this hotel. The room was clean and quiet with comfortable beds and lots of pillows. They offer a variety of amenities like an outdoor pool and laundry facilities. There is a free breakfast and a happy hour with complimentary snacks. I would not recommend the Tucson hotel. The family next door was loud and I needed to knock on the door to quiet them down. I heard beeps from the cars being locked. It was noisy. Normally I have positive experiences with the Best Western Hotels. I must say, I was disappointed.

« Only thing nice about this place was the staff! No sleep two nights! »

Where do I begin. First night we went to bed at 9:00 PM to be woken by rolling cart sounds. Called front desk at 10:30, it stopped. About midnight we here rolling sounds like suitcases on and off until 2:30 am. 5:30 am room beside us takes a shower, we hear dipping sounds, I mean loud and then a big rumble like the pipes were going to explode! It actually shook the wall when they turned off their shower. I have a video of the loud dripping sounds that went on, I'm serious, they're LOUD! Then by the closet you can hear dripping sounds too, all the time. Like the pipes are leaking. 2nd night woken up by the sound of dogs barking around midnight. Back to sleep around two AM neighbors wake us up with loud chatting, paper thin walls! The room was recently refurbished. It was so small for two queens. One bed was close up by the door which cold air was coming through badly. You could hear everything outside the door. The other bed, going to and from the bathroom you walk right into the office chair. The bathroom sink projects out way to far which leaves you to bend way over to wash your face, poor design. The microwave takes up a good portion of the bathroom sink. White stains on carpet, dirt on walls. Very cramped room. Small, cramped breakfast area. Had to park all the way on other side of hotel to get to my room. Horrible parking lot. Very poor remodel job. Terrible patch work over shower I paid premium rate for this room. Was suppose to be a relaxing vacation for me and my aunt. Was not that at all. No sleep for two nights. The employees at front desk were very kind. Had to remind the manager to call me about the first nights complaint. He gave is the room for free, sounds nice huh, not really, not when your on vacation and don't get sleep. Second night I called and manager never called back. At 170 a night, I should at least get a good nights sleep. Since the manager didn't call me back, I am leaving this review along with pictures to follow. On the good side, the bed was decent and there was plenty of hot water and good pressure. Oh and the second night our heater went out!!!

I expected more from a Best Western. This was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. The room was small, not very clean and totally uncomfortable. It's a good and "cheap"option, it includes breakfast though it's not varied and the restaurant stinks (grease smell all over your clothes). The room was clean, people were nice, except the last day when the shuttle I asked for wan't there, they say they offer free shuttle to the airport but only starting at 7 a.m. (supposedly) I booked the shuttle and there was no one there to take me the next day, finally the manteinance guy took me but I was about to miss the flight. If you have an early flight don't expect to be taken by the hotel shuttle. The hotel should clarify that the shuttle service has limited hours, I felt really disappointed.

Breakfast wad scrambled eggs, sausages, bisquits/gravy, and fried potatoes. If that doesn't suit you there is a restaurant on the north side of the same parking lot. Great central location. We will return.

    « Very comfortable room »

Stayed one night while visiting friends in Tucson. Only complaint is room wasn't near where we had to park our car. More of a hassle than anything. Bed very comfortable with quality sheets. Room was very quiet. Didn't take advantage of breakfast.

    4
« good value except for pillows »

The rooms are clean, comfortable and offer good amenities. Just remember to bring your own pillow(s). If in north Tucson, this is a great location, whether for pleasure or business. The bar/breakfast area is a small, cramped area.

« Worst Best Western stay »

I had the misfortune of staying at this location as an overflow hotel option for a conference I was attending. Please remove the sad excuse for a "fitness center". Why offer it as an option? Housekeeping took my shampoo (hotel supplied shampoo) from the shower and didn't replace it so I had no shampoo one morning. Garbage trucks were picking up dumpsters at 4:30 a.m. on Monday. 4:30 a.m! P.J's, the "bar", smelled of burnt cooking oil. I was very disappointed in the experience.

    « Upgrades needed »

We have stayed at other Best Western Hotels that had hardwood floors which gave the overall feel a cleaner and neater appearance. Needs better security at night as people were climbing over the pool fence and using the Spa at midnight. They were very noisy.

    « Very Caring »

Hotel staff went out of their way to make our post surgery stay excellent. They helped me with having a post operative breakfast for my wife when we returned from the surgery center. In the evening they made sure she was comfortably seated for "Happy Hour." They also made sure things we needed refrigerated were done so we could use them next day.

    « Great location »

We were there to see north Tucson area and this hotel was well situated for that. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable; the rate was reasonable. Our only issue was the "exercise facility" was a recumbent bike and a small universal, which did not work for us. We would stay there again.

« Personal Stay at Best Western »

Not happy with my stay. The room had no drapes on the window. Insufficient towels in the room. The best thing that I say is that the bed was very comfortable. The off-road parking was acceptable, away from road noise. The room, otherwise, was acceptable. There was an unstated deposit charged and I was not advised at checkout and only found out when my bank statement came. I still have not received the $50 charged me in my bank statement.

    « Best Western Experience »

The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean! The location was close to the University of Arizona and also close to restaurants and gas stations. The on-line price was great!! Plus they take AAA. When we arrived, late into the night, the hotel was very full but quiet.

    3
    « Nice room »

This looks like it used to be an apartment building, which is nice if you like separate rooms. The set-up was a bit different than most hotel rooms, but if we were staying longer than one night, the kitchen would have been handy. It looks like they are trying to improve the property, but overall a good stay. The only problem is the breakfast area is too small and poorly ventilated.

    « Staying in Tucson »

The best place to stay is the Best Western, Foothills. You get great value for the money... a complete breakfast bar; 2 drinks and snacks for Happy Hour; a clean spa and swimming pool available all year round. When visiting Tucson, I make sure to stay here.

    « Not as described »

Was in town for a week long business conference, and used this hotel for overflow... I have already misspoke according to definitions hotels usually have rooms that are accessible from the inside - these aren't it is a MOTEL. There were some renovations but the rooms needed updating and better housekeeping- I had dead bugs in my room. The buildings were spread out and there was no elevator for those who may need it, at least not one I could visibly find. Overall not a great experience. Also the description says near UA campus, if 20 minutes / 7.5 miles is close then it's close. Sorry wasn't impressed.

    « Customer Service »

Still waiting, 3 days after our stay, for the 2 pillows and extra blanket that was asked for, 4 different times. Was told each time that they were on their way. Kind of hard when there are 3 adults and one will use the pullout sofa and there are no pillows. Had to fold something up to use. And the blanket is thin and you need to find something else for cover. Have stayed here many times before. Never had this problem before. Hope this is not going to become the new norm.

« Good hotel but needs some updating »

Nice stay with friendly staff but hotel needs some updating and new carpets. Not bad but not great, good breakfast and easy to park and get around Tucson. I would stay again but hope they do some updating to all the rooms.

    « Great Value »

Had a great stay here. The rate was great. The staff was super helpful and friendly, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean and centrally located to what I needed in Tucson. I'll definitely be back.

« Nice Place, Great Complimentary Breakfast »

Just needed a bed for the one night we'd be in Tucson. This place offered so much more than the bed. It's located close to a mall, had a heated pool and gave us a great complimentary breakfast. We will return when we're in Tucson again!

    3
« Generally good, but some challenges »

There's nothing particularly wrong with this motel. The room was decent, although the location off the parking lot was not the greatest. The breakfast was good with several hot offerings, although the room was crowded with no seating available much of the time, and the location was good if you do not need to be next to the freeway, although getting in and out was sometimes a challenge. We'd likely come back, but will also look at other options.

    2
« Not what we expected..... »

We were disappointed in our room/suite during our recent stay in Tucson-we will not be staying at this hotel again! Run down, lights in our room were burned out/not working, bed ok, wireless spotty. The rooms looked nothing like what is listed online. There was hot breakfast every morning and coffee. However The hotel would not allow us a late check out, even with a fee-as our flight did not leave until 5pm the evening of.

    « Never know »

You never know what you'll get when you stay at a best western. Well this one is one of the better ones!! The place has some age but it's been recently remodeled and it's really nice! They have a nice hot breakfast spread too. There a bunch of good restaurants nearby too.

    « A night in Tucson »

This hotel is not on the hwy. it is off the beaten track a bit. Rooms are clean and reasonably priced with breakfast. Breakfasts are full breakfasts. Rooms have thin walls though. Rooms have recently been renovated.

    3
    « Tucson Foothills »

This hotel was average to mediocre. The bed was so/so. The wi fi was occasionally spotty. Breakfast was ok. The hotel charged a $50 damage deposit which would be only charged if we damaged the room. I have never had this experience. This was a red flag to me that this might not be a hotel I would want to stay in again. The police were called to a room the night we were there.

    « More shopping!! »

In a Thanksgiving visit to Tucson, we again stayed at the BW InnSuites Tucson Foothills, which is quickly becoming our favorite place to stay while in Tucson. We discovered another surprise from the last trip that we enjoyed so much because of the hotel being centered between two major shopping malls. Well add a third major mall close to the hotel now that the Outlet mall just off I-10 and Twin Peaks road is open. WOW is it something, just huge and adds another major shopping spot convenient to the hotel. While we were there for Thanksgiving with family and shopping, we again experienced an outstanding stay, and an exceptional experience because of the incredible staff. Add to that they are doing what appears to be thousands of dollars of renovation, makes our future stay at the BW InnSuites even more certain. Modest price, excellent rooms, convenient for shopping, what more can one ask of a place to stay!

    3
« used to be a good place to stay »

Long wait to check in dirty room, dirty bathtub.Maid wakes us up at !) AM because no "do not disturb" sign available.Use to be a good place to stay and relax,we will be trying out another place on next trip to Tucson. If your on a tight budget and don't mind cleaning up a little this place is not all that bad.

    3
    « Noise issues »

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the location works if you want to be near restaurants, shopping, etc.. I was concerned when I saw a Fox Sports bus located on the premises and my concerns were justified when the adult members of a sports team started screaming and 'partying' in the middle of the afternoon, running back and forth between multiple hotel rooms. So our attempts to relax outside while we could still catch some sunshine quickly ended. So be aware if you see a sports team bus on the premises when you check in.

« Bad Experience at Best Western »

This hotel has a ways to go before I will stay again. The card key/lock mechanism was faulty and took several tries before opening, I repeatedly, i.e. every night, had to go to the lobby to get normal room service item (wash cloths, hand towels, coffee cartridges). The door was left ajar one day. I could get no satisfaction from reporting these items to the lobby and after 4-5 times finally gave up.

    4
« Great place to stay in NW Tucson.. »

Very well located to shopping and restaurants in a popular part of the city of Tucson. The huge Tucson Mall is only 3 minutes away. We would certainly stay at this hotel again when in Tucson. We were visiting Family who lived close by, which is a special reason for us choosing this hotel. This hotel is about 10 minutes driving from the I-10 Freeway.

    5
« Great Place to Stay »

This is a great place to stay without having to pay an arm and leg. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The breakfast was great addition to the stay so that I did not have to leave for good food.

    « Excellent Budget Hotel »

My buddy and I stayed at this hotel four nights: Tuesday through Friday, then the following Sunday. The room we had for the first three nights was most comfortable and large, and the room we had for one night was somewhat smaller; but, all were above average and the price couldn't be beat. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean, and the wi-fi and TVs worked. Noise was negligible although one night a couple in an adjoining room had an argument, and in the morning after 7:00 people pulling suitcases down the (outside) hallways could be heard. The "free" breakfasts were of decent quality and food was plentiful except for the Monday morning, when they ran out early. Coffee was quite good and strong. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would suggest getting to breakfast by 8:00 for a table (the venue is small) and choice of food. I would give this hotel four and one-half stars if I could, but think it deserves five rather than four stars given the choice.

« Property Ready for Makeover »

I have stayed at this property on a dozen occasions over the last 15 years. It is a convenient location, has large rooms and includes the standard breakfast buffet. The service is what can generally be expected from a Best Western - which is good. This property however is in need of renovation - nothing has changed over the last 15 years and it was not new then. The carpets are a bit sticky, the heating/cooling units make a fair amount of noise and the bathrooms need new, updated fixtures. It's ok but there are newer properties in the area that I will likely try in the future.

« My Best Western Stay »

Very clean Hotel, the free breakfast is really nice and has everything you would want to eat. Also, the hotel has a refrigerator and microwave which all hotels do not supply. You also get free internet. These are things that make the hotel a much better place to stay. Overall, I would recommend to this hotel to others.

    « Spacious room...but... »

There is great potential for this property to be quite wonderful. We found the front staff to be very welcoming and considerate. The difference is a lack of attention to details. The grounds just seem shabby and ill kept with broken tiles and chipped out stairway; trash and cigarette butts on the ground; dirty laundry cart as obstacles to reaching your room. We were in a 2 room suite that had a rather unique configuration. The kitchen area was on the left as you came with a half wall as separation with the back of a microwave facing the front room. The walls had incurred some damage to the wall paper in the front room that had not really been repaired, and in the kitchen, water damage at the window left the wallpaper buckled and warped down the wall. In the front room, the telephone jack was on the outside wall and the phone was on the opposite wall requiring a phone cord to string across the floor. An interesting bathroom configuration had the toilet and tub/shower behind the kitchen, and the sink in the bedroom. With just two of us, that would have worked out ok, but might not be so great if there had been someone using the hide-a-bed in the front room. The inconvenience that we found was that there was no mirror over the sink. That was on a wall outside the bathroom. We tried to have the offered breakfast but it is in a small cabana by the pool, and was overcrowded. There is a nice restaurant that shares the parking lot with the hotel where we ate breakfast. They offer a discount to hotel guests, but we didn't find that out until later.

    « Not a 3 star hotel! »

Traffic from main road can be an issue. I felt like I was in a sardine can as the rooms layout of property gives zero privacy. The carpet was filthy, and the mattress was horrendous! I suffer from chronic back pain, and these must be the cheapest mattresses made. I woke up in excruciating pain. It was not a pleasant stay. The late night maintenance staff were great though! I did use the spa, and though the temp was great, the jets lacked pressure. If you're on a budget, or have no other food options, go to the Natural Grocers located at the Northeast corner of Oracle and Orange Grove in the TJ Maxx strip mall. They have a great in-room selection of cheap food for the microwave! If you have a sweet tooth, the Village Inn is located just in front of the motel, and the cream pie is to die for. (There goes the healthy entree) ;)

« Nice hotel for a short stay »

It was a nice enough hotel. A little noisy when people walked by your room. No problems, enjoyed our stay. Nice area close to the foothills and plenty of places to shop and eat. The hotel is priced right and in a good location.

    « Needs Some Work »

I'm a very low maintenance person. I don't need very much to be happy. I would first like to say that the hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was fairly extensive compared to most other continental breakfasts. One of the small issues that I had was that my shower had quite a substantial leak. It wasn't just dripping water; the leak was a steady stream of water. Even that I could live with considering I would only be staying there for a couple of days. However, my major issue was the wifi. I do quite a lot of work on the internet, and the wifi was virtually non-existent. The internet was painfully slow, and I kept having to reconnect to the wifi even though I hadn't even left the room. If the internet connection is going to be unusable, why bother even having it?

« having fun in the sun »

This hotel was wonderful. It was nicely located about 8 miles straight down oracle to old town. We were here for the Day of the Dead festival which was also wonderful. One of our rooms was a king suite and had a separate bedroom and also a stove, fridge, and microwave. The other room was 2 queen beds and also very nice. We would definitely stay again.

    « Pleasant stay »

Hotel rooms were perfect; clean, nice, inviting! Breakfast and Happy Hour were wonderful! Pool side was great, out door sitting areas we used and they were really nice. We were very happy. The hotel is doing some outside remodeling but they keep the working area safe, clean and the staff is professional - shows that they are here today and for the future! Thanks for having us!

    « Drive on by »

Don't stay here! The welcome staff is rude...guests ahead of us were given a deluxe room even though they paid for a suite with no concern for the guests...were told sorry no suites available deal with it! We would have left but would have been charged for the night. Our room was on the second floor and there was sheets, carts, pallets everywhere we could barely walk to climb the stairs. The breakfast the next day was good but skip the evening social seen at night, no real food to speak of...chips, salsa, popcorn. Very noisy at night...heater was broken in room so fire alarm went off. This location needs some rehab including the management.

« The best in Tucson »

On October 31 my wife thought it would be a nice surprise to take me to a romantic getaway at the best western inn suites foothills. The first person we had the pleasure of meeting was the manager one Lucas Gomez the only thing that surpasses his professionalism was his up beat personality. His front desk staff was by far the best I have found outside of Las Vegas. The room was both clean and comfortable the pool was open clean and the water was perfect and this was in October. The views of the Catalina mountain was a great site to wake up to in the morning. Even the towel boy Ruben was great I called and in less then 5mins we had a knock at the door with new clean warm towles. The free breakfast was and great touch. When we check out and I was handed the bill I was floored. I was expecting a a price far above what the bill was. In my humble opinion Lucas Gomez and his staff at the best western inn suites in the foothills Tucson is running a first rate operation and would recommend to anyone.

« Nice Place, Except for the Little Things »

This is a nice facility with well appointed rooms. The front desk staff was extremely courteous and professional, but not very knowledgeable about the local area. The free full breakfast was great. I would stay here again, but the little things kept me from giving a 5 rating. The shower water temperature fluctuated dramatically during my shower. The Sony flat screen TV would have been great if the hotel had HD or even digital SD reception, but it looked to me like poor quality analog which made for a disappointing viewing experience of the last game of the World Series. Speaking of TV, the in-room channel list was out of date and I never did find ESPN. All in all, though, I had a comfortable stay.

    3
    « Some Issues »

I had some issues with the reservation, and the room But the staff took care of it as if it was there room. Vary hospitable. There was a problem with online reservation, but they took care of it. There where dirty dishes in the sink and the took care of that to. The only thing that I would change is the noise from the Jacuzzi pump was vary loud when I was trying to sleep.

« Perfect for the casual traveler. »

There is nothing fancy about this Best Western, but the rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. My husband has a difficult time sleeping in most hotel rooms, but he LOVED the pillow top mattresses here. The breakfast included everything you'd expect: eggs, hash browns, waffles, fruit, yogurt, sausage, coffee, various juices, and a selection of muffins. The best thing about this Best Western was the PRICE: about half the cost of the Best Western near the airport. Our only complaint was a minor one. The lock on the bathroom door did not work,

    3
« Good for a night, Could be better »

Staff seemed a little in a hurry when checking in, over the phone from the room, and not to interested in what we were doing there. I work in hospitality myself and this place where they are professional seemed to not care in some areas.

« Too many small problems to make this worth a stay »

We like to stay at Best Westerns. And, at first glance, this seemed like a good place to stay. But, there were too many little problems 1. Housekeeping... We found a hunk of hair on the shower wall when we checked in. Then we found that the dishes in the kitchenette were dirty, and never cleaned during our stay. The housekeeping while we were there was spotty. On at last one day, only the beds were made, there was no service in our bathroom. 2. Problems with the room itself... The bed was so close to the air conditioner that it was very hard to get into the bed on that side. And, since the air conditioner was right next to the bed, it blew really cold air onto the bed. The mini fridge got louder and louder each day, until we finally had to just turn it off and take everything out of it that we were trying to keep cold. One of the sliding doors on the closet would jam after moving about 6 inches. You could force it, but it wasn't easy. The toilet had to be flushed twice to get the toilet paper to go down. 3. Breakfast... We like the breakfasts at the Best Western. And this was fine, except that they ran out of yogurt on multiple days. And not at the end of the breakfast time, but early on. 4. Outside corridors... We prefer indoor corridors because they tend to be quieter. And this was no exception. Running kids early in the morning, people fighting one night in the parking lot (thought we would have to call the police), people talking loudly as they loaded their cars in the morning to get going early. 5. Business center... The computer displays were mounted to the wall and were up quite high. My wife and I both got neck aches looking up at them. You would have to be 6ft8inch for the displays to be comfortable. Also, antivirus definitions haven't been updated since 2012. Yikes! 6. Exercise room... We were unable to exercise because there was only one cardio machine in the exercise room. We tried to go for a run/walk, but the main street (Oracle) has no sidewalks, and fast traffic. The side street dead-ends quickly into a private townhome community. Nice and safe, but small, so you really could not go for a run. We'll pick someone else when we visit Tucson again. There were just too many small problems with this hotel.

    « Disappinted »

We were very disappointed in this hotel. While the employees were very polite and helpful, the room was unacceptable. There were stains on the blanket and rugs. The door did not close all the way and we did see bugs. Most likely would not have stayed but we arrived late in a city we were unfamiliar with.

This is a wonder hotel. Great breakfast, beautiful rooms. Just be sure you get your room cleaned while you are out. We had a problem with that and it wasn't pleasant coming back fro visiting our son at the hospital to an unmade room. Everything else is over the top.

    « Pleasant Surprise »

Whenever you book a room online for $68 a night you always wonder as to what kind of quality you are walking into. We booked on Hotels.com (will never do that again!) and called before heading out to inform the front desk we would be arriving late. We had a 6 hour drive and would be arriving close to midnight. They saw our reservation but said it wasn't confirmed yet. When we arrived they said they had us booked for two rooms and that it showed up on their end as having been booked through expedia (we've never used them before). So it was weird but the gentleman at the front desk sorted it out and gave us the keys to our room. The room's AC was cracking for us which was a welcome surprise in the AZ heat! The bed was way more comfortable than we were expecting. The room and bathroom were clean. Having a mini-fridge and microwave in the room was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast the next morning was actually pretty good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes and biscuits and gravy! YUM! They also had a waffle station, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. The coffee was even a surprise. I was expecting the cheap junky coffee that has a cardboard taste. It was not like that at all and was quite pleasant (regular and decaf available). Orange juice, apple juice, iced tea and water are also available. Whenever anything was running low the staff was quick to refill it. They also have a free social hour between 5 and 6 where each guest (over 21) gets 2 free drinks. We weren't at the hotel at that point but I thought it was a nice idea for a hotel to provide. The pool looked cleaned and well kept. Room service was quite helpful and brought us plastic forks to eat our lunch in our room. They even had wine corkscrew we could borrow when we forgot ours. The staff was very professional and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

« How do they do it?? »

I am having some medical stuff at a nearby clinic that will last about 5 weekday weeks. I go home 4 hours drive on the weekends. Make your reservations on line.. check in is a breeze checking out the same. the people are very Johny on the spot. they gave me a voucher for a "upgraded room" on my next stay. I tried it and found I preferred the smaller "single" room I had no problem changing rooms. The rooms are very clean no dirt or grime in the corners, no grime or scum on the bathroom tiles the showers all worked in the three rooms I've been in. the sheets on the beds are good quality. the air conditioners work with little noise. The coffee machine and micro wave look brand new. My one don't like is the place is an older motel and built like a rabbit warren very close. The breakfast is a real breakfast. this place is great you won't be sorry you stayed there.

« Good clean place near all the Oro Valley Foothills attractions »

Right on the main drag on Oracle Road, near all the shopping and sights. Near the beautiful Catalina Foothills. They have 4 buildings all 2 story walk ups. We asked for a top floor King on our reservation and they accommodated us. Checked in at 2pm and gave us the room, no problem. Pool area is nice, clean, nice chairs with Jacuzzi. The breakfast is in a room right off the pool. Had hot items and the usual cold items. They also are open in that room serving other food for purchase during pool times. The food lady was very friendly and kept everything very clean. The room was clean, bed and pillows were good, bathroom a little small but managed for a night. Gave bare minimum towels. The tub was a bit slippery. There was a sofa in our room, but a little tight quarters in that area and it was half way up against the air conditioner. Our view was out to the parking lot. Not sure if you can get a good view from any of the rooms here but you are close enough to the Catalina's to just walk out and look or go visit them. When I grabbed the TV channel menu off the nightstand it had a used piece of peppermint candy stuck to it. Not pleasant but that would be a housekeeping issue. Front desk not overly friendly, just got you checked in and moved on, same at check out. Good place to stay at if you are out and about for the day and need a place to kick off your shoes and get a good nights sleep and get some breakfast in you before you take off for the day.
