Best Western Hotel Cologne Airport Troisdorf

Our honeymoon trip took us here for the first night. We wanted to stop in Cologne to see some sights the next morning, This was a perfect location just off the motorway, and only 20 minutes back in to Cologne. When we arrived, the staff member that saw us in was pleasant, satisfactory English, but seemed to lack any personality, like she was bored. The restaurant in the hotel was closed when we arrived, when we queried this, we were told its a breakfast only facility. I asked for some recommendations for the local area to get some dinner, I was handed an A4 sheet with multiple eateries. My Wife and I like to read some reviews before going, and found only a couple out of the whole list was on Google or Trip Advisor, so not the most helpful. OK if your not bothered though. Dimitri Grill up the road, about 20 minute walk, I highly recommend this place! (Reviewed separately) The room was pleasant, odd shape, clean and comfortable. It had a safe, sofa and chairs, bed was hard, which was nice. The shower was amazing, could have stayed in there all day. The room however was only made up for one person, we had to call down to get more bedding and towels. These turned out to be single duvets only. The hotel don't stock double or king, only singles. There was a coffee and tea facilities however the kettle is only useable under the wall mounted TV, so the steam and heat goes in to the TV, the coffee was not nice at all, and again was only made up to be enough for one. Car park was odd, its free to get in with a barrier that goes up automatically when you move towards it, however to get you need a token from reception to leave. The staff did remind us of this, however there was no check on if we were guests or not. If your a light sleeper due to light, take an eye mask as the curtains are as thin as cotton. If your looking for a pamper, or some fluffy stuff, this is not the hotel. This is purely a business hotel, or a bed and go kind of hotel.

I wouldn't recommend this property to my friends or family. It would be too long to get into why the stay was not good. Staff response time is slow. Staff is rude and often times showing signs of frustrations. The cleaning and servicing of rooms is almost non-existent. Sometimes, they forget to refresh towels or give a restock on tissue and paper.

Worst best western I ever stayed in (and I stayed in a lot as a Diamond customer). The personnel were not smiling at all (except one nice lady that was behind the desk when we left). We paid for parking but it was full when we went back so we weren't able to park near to the hotel (needed to park 10mn away from it...) and we hardly got an apology from the reception (I was expecting to have a booked spot as I went there early and paid...). The wifi was also not working at the beginning of the stay (we needed to work so it was difficult...) and to finish we saw a roach near the sink....

If you have a rental, it will cost you to park, and you have to get a token from the desk anytime you want to get out of their lot. Beds aren't very comfortable, but the room was clean. Didn't eat in their little restaurant, but there is a bakery a few kilometers away called Bröhls that was spectacular.

Arrived here at 10pm after 15 hour trip from U.K. with Shearings. Bar closed, no food available and room was supposed to be an upgrade but distinctly average. I would not recommend this hotel Shearings were very poor. Set off from U.K. in. Modern coach with WiFi and charging points. Changed to an older coach with WiFi that didn't work and no charging points. Asked the driver about WiFi and he wasn't interested!!!! Then after paying nearly £600 for the holiday, they insisted in charging us £1 for a small cup of weak coffee? Disgusting!!! My holiday had hardly begun and I would never use Shearings ever again, they don't care about customers and I am totally disgusted..... 10 hours travelling without WiFi !!!!!

We stopped here for an overnight stay on a Shearings holiday. The checking in was quick. The delivery of cases was not. And finding out at 10.20 no bar, no place to get a snack, it was not the best for the start of a Christmas trip. In the end we went hunting for our cases so we could go to bed. The rooms were fine basic but a decent shower and the twin beds OK. Except I hate sleeping on rubber mattress protectors they are noisy and make you sweat! And I haven't wet a bed since being a toddler! The room was facing the road so we had car noise all night and we had a view of the Shell garage. The early breakfast at 7pm was a shambles the food when it did appear was OK but it was so badly organised. And finding that the cheap wooden clothes hangars had nails hanging out of them, hence snagging your clothes was the icing on the cake in this miserable hotel with no Christmas spirit or atmosphere.

Very nice and quite hotel with a good breakfast. Beds are nice and soft. Desk in the room is a bit short, but still usable as a working desk. The number of non-German channels and radio channels on the tv are limited. Receptionist is very friendly and professional.

First we've got rooms that weren't cleaned yet. The manager didn't know they were dirty so he gave us new rooms wich was nice. They were cleaned but the floor was still dirty. The next morning we want to breakfast. You can eat untill 12 am. We arrived at 9 am and everything was almost empty and i saw hair on the food!!!!! Overall i don't recommend this Hotel

I liked the beautiful room, well equipped, nice shower and comfortable bed,. There was an easy access wifi. The buffet breakfast was excellent with many different things. The staff at the reception was friendly and very helpful. Excellent stay

Friendly staff, good service, good breakfast with many different dishes.Comfortable and clean room with good quality bed, condition and television. The view from our room was not particularly good but it was not so important to us. The room was well soundproofed so I didn't hear sound from neighboring rooms. Reception works 24 hours a day and there are hotels own parking available as coster 6 euros per day. Possibility of pets.

Kind and friendly at reception desk and in breakfast room. Despite pets weren´t allowed in the breakfast room , we took breakfast in the bar beside which was fine! Nice room but hot inside during summer . A ventilator was available.

The hotel was between Bonn and Cologne, near a motorway. The service provided was excellend, the room was for a disabled person (at our request) was also excellent as was the breakfast. One recomend this hotel for the service provided

I had a great stay. Room fine, sufficient facilities. Great location, Private Parking. Excellent bed.Full breakfast. Friendly staff. I had one downside. The plug of the adapter of the television was missing.

Good hotel, nice and clean room. Breakfast very good. A bit of a let down: No dinner available and the bar opens at 18:00 .It would be better if we knew this before hand. But we had a good sleep and good breakfast before our flight.

Although there are probably larger rooms in the hotel our room was small but complete. The cleaning can be better. We had a view of a fairly busy road through which the window could not be opened due to the noise of the traffic. The bar is closed and does not seem to open at this season, or maybe ever again. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room is very well kept clean.

Nice clean modern rooms, quite small though. No closed wardrobe and lavabo outside the toilet. If you have no car everything is far.Breakfast very good. Mattress and pillow great. No noise from the avenue.

Location is very good with a car, right on the highway.However there is nothing around within walking range, in case you are not driving.Breakfast is good.Rooms are average.TV selection is a bit limited.WiFi good.

If you are travelling to your destination en you must spend a night for resting this is the best hotel. We used it for a day in Phantasialand (25 min. away). A good breakfast and a nice room with everything in it.

All personnel very polite and helpful. New refurbished rooms in modern light style. Elevator available. Privat parking low price. Breakfast excellent.Ggood located near autoroutes.Real value for money.

It was'nt our first stay in this hotel but it will not be the last one at all... the location is really practice, the room is nice, the food is also nice... everything was ok... i recommended this hotel to everyone...

Good for a few nights, no restaurants near the hotel. Parking space is available. Service is ok. Breakfast is ok, but could be crowded in the breakfast area at pedicures times. The rooms are clean but some of them are in need for a refurbishment

It's a matter of expectations. Good price, reasonable quality. Positive: big room, nice shower, good bed. Breakfast fresh, good coffee. Negative: it was hard to park the car, had to park it in a weird corner. The elevator was sticky. The hallways felt unwelcoming. Luckily, the rooms were better. All in all, would not stay here for a week, but it's fine for 1 or 2 nights.

Advantage of last minute rate. Quick service at the reception. The price and service relation was very good. The breakfast in the morning was more than expected. All over opinion is to come again next time I have to look for a stay in that area.

With no restaurant and an uninviting, stark exterior, this hotel is only interesting if you need to fly out of CGN airport early in the morning... The staff was reasonably friendly, the rooms are OK, breakfast was great, but it's no treat staying here.

A hotel just ok for one night on a business trip. No air conditioning! Noise from motorway close by and other roads. Also the airport is close, 15 minutes by taxi. Breakfast nothing special but ok. Staff open and friendly. Extra cost for parking.

Hotel rooms were clean, good location near to the Airport. However, the staff were not very friendly at all apart from one guy who was helpful. Did not seem to go out of there way to help. Wifi was OK when it worked (I was there a week and it worked for about 2 days only) The bar was only open for one evening as they had a staff shortage and I had one meal when I got there, after that it was like they couldn't be bothered. All in all a very poor experience. Not one id like to repeat in a hurry.

Great hotel, good rooms but problems with the Trivago booking. I phone to the hotel but no one kan sai if the booking is good. At the arrival it seems that i have no booking for me (i make a booking and pay by paypal) so not verry simpatic. I must have irritated to get my room so not verry friendly hostess.. Next time i'll go somewhere else even if I do not know if the problem comes from them !!!

I mostly book at best western hotels cause i know what i can expect. I like the rooms, I like the breakfast. For me everything what I need is there to have a good stay. It was easy to find the location!

Parking lot was not well lit, no clear indication. Check in personal was overwhelmed with regular responsibility. Didn't recognise the Diamond status and ignored room upgrade and welcome gift. Very bad service for loyalty members. Hotel looks like a motel, rooms are decent and clean. Bad WiFi, unappealing bar. Breakfast was overcrowded but at least the staff was accommodating. Check out again was not really pleasant. Reception staff looked like they really don't like the hospitality industry.

I stayed in this hotel for business and knew that it was in a pretty industrial area, but there are NO services at the hotel to make up for the lack of offerings in the area. There is a basic breakfast buffet, but no restaurant or gym, nothing within walking distance, and no safe walking routes with sidewalks near the property. Also, the walls are very thin and the windows don't do much to keep out the very close traffic noise.

Strategic hotel, near Cologne airport and city centre ; good room , but bathroom old style . nice lobby area but breakfast room so small and with no professional staff ! About prices are in good cheap way !

Rooms and breakfast as quite average. One of the problems is the lack of sufficient parking space, hotel parking was full and even the neighboring streets were blocked entirely by hotel guests. Furthermore, the wireless is useless: All devices constantly loose the IP address and it takes minutes to renew. While in the shower, I noticed that the soap dispenser was empty. The strangest thing was the checkout: I tried first after breakfast to checkout when there was nobody in line. Problem was that the receptionist is also handling incoming calls. After each call, she has forgotten the room number and we restart the process. After 10 minutes, more people line up and she suggests that I get my luggage first from the room and we then do the checkout. At the 2nd checkout session, the process repeats, overall I had to give the same person my room number 5 times during 2 checkout sessions.

Staff are extremely nice, rooms are clean, but to offer a meal while sitting on the bar chairs...could offer the tables in the breakfast area, just saying. Breakfast should get more attention, since it would take a bit too long to replace some items. Also, should invest in an English degree for staff, since at least two I spoke two could not speak english very well. Parking was full, not their fault, though. It is what it is.

The Best Western Troisdorf is conveniently located South of the Cologne/Bonn Airport. Overall it is a disappointment though. What we liked - Convenient bed but rather on the small side - Large rooms - Free WiFi - Modern shower with nice water pressure - Air conditioning in the room What we did not like - Though advertised throughout the whole hotel the breakfast is below standard. Not much choice, standard cheap cheese and you need to wait quite some time for a coffee. Tables not clean and service very slow, unorganized and unfriendly. - Elevator out of order and/or very old (and missing a TUV checkup) - Service in the bar slow, atmosphere is not convenient - Check-in unfriendly, check-out unfriendly. I had to ring the bell to get one of the three ladys in the background to interrupt their personal talks and check me out. Not one single friendly word - nobody cared if I liked it - Parking 9 EUR / night - Outside sitting area cluttered and dirty ... nobody really wants to use the tables - Surrounding and especially the highway very loud. Sleeping with window open impossible - Inside the hotel very loud ... you can hear every move of neighbors I will search for alternatives next time.

We came to the hotel to celebrate the birthday. We chose the hotel just because it had (according to the websites) a restaurant and that there is a consideration of exercise constraint. In hotel we feeling that everything is just big "robberry" and the level was not what we expected. We are really disappointed with this mini-holiday.

Yesterday we wiped in the hotel to stay. We got a room with a dirty ceiling like water stains but we are tiredness and we did not change the room. In this morning around 10:30 o'clock we wanted to eat breakfast and we wait 15 min for one cup of coffee .Then the waiter knocked the door with the trolley to breakfast room and he yell to us and other customer ' do you want any food ?' because he want to close the restaurant but its not time to close . After he yell at us, the waiter took the food on the buffet for himself and go inside the kitchen to eat and he let the rest from the buffet and didn't come back. I feel very bad to see it and I don't want to visit the best western again.

I Have been in this hotel for 1 night. The position is good respect the Cologne airport. the hotel is a normal one but with some small problems .: - there was only 1 small Towel (No washer towel) - in the breakfast area there isn't a proper control to seen of some food or juice is finish so you can Wait some time without them. The rest is ok.

I can't complain too much as if you're looking to stay at a hotel right by the airport, it's only a 10 minute drive there. However if you're looking to get to the city it's a few hops on transit and about a 45 minute venture out. The hotel itself - unfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working, but the kind maintenance guy offered a fan which assisted greatly for the next night. The rooms are typically small European functional spaces. Not too glamorous, but works if you need a decent sleep with no fuss. You'll have to keep the windows closed though as it's located right beside a highway. The front counter workers are friendly and over the time I stayed they had to deal with many different language barriers, but were always polite and patient. I love German breakfasts....very simply put, so the complimentary breakie served me just fine! Coffee was a little hard to find, but if there is anything missing the wonderful servers will get whatever you need. Over-all it's a perfect place to stay for a quick overnighters if you're catching a flight the next day ( no airport shuttle though ).

Nothing special to say. Standard hotel. The room is ok except that the bed blanket was pretty small and the shower towells also. The breakfast was also ok. The location is convenient near a busy road. Its a hotel to stay in a business trip but do not recommend if you are travelling in vacations.

Great comfortable hotel convenient for Cologne-Bonn airport and surrounding cities such as Düsseldorf Friendly staff and very clean hotel, may have just had a refurbishment. Beds are uber comfortable Wifi is free on in lobby and rooms I would happily use again.
