"Room Small, Clean & Very Well Equipped"

4
dcgrandma, Vienna, VA 07/09/2019

This might not be the best place for an really extended stay (unless you were a single), but it served us very well for a short stay. Our room was compact, but thoughtfully equipped with many conveniences and amenities (A/C, reliable WiFi, TV, plenty of outlets, good lighting, safe, frig, etc.) It reminded us of Bauhaus design, as the layout was minimalist but also very functional and comfortable. We appreciated the attached garage (for a charge), the helpful staff, and the very ample breakfast. A good bargain in a city where lodging can be pricey.

"Nice hotel with the best employee ever"

5
903giuliop, Province of Palermo, Italy 15/08/2019

The room are nice and clean. In addiction I had the pleasure to meet Costel at the hotel reception...is one of the best employees I ever seen... very kind and helpful... I give us support and assistance and drove us personally to the airport once he finish his duty. I would highly recommended this hotel.... all the employees are nice and they all work very well for ensure you will have a nice journey .

"Nice hotel, good service"

4
jmcyow, Orleans, Canada 28/07/2019

Well located, a 15-20 minute walk to Piazza Unitá d'Italia, a couple of pizzerias and supermarkets steps away. Good service at reception but steep charges for parking (16 euros) and the parking spots are very limited and dangerously small (but you may not have a choice as parking is limited around the hotel). Room was clean, air con working well, small fridge. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. We'd return.

"Would stay again."

DrGordy, Lisburn, United Kingdom 10/07/2019

Clean and friendly. City walkable within say 20 mins but can be demanding on steep hills and paving. Really convenient for bus connection. Breakfast fair. A very good value hotel. Room well lit and comfortable.

"Great value, fab staff"

5
User 25/05/2019

The room was ok but the evening meal and breakfast was inexpensive and good. Astonished that the €15 evening meal was really good - inclusive of wine! Though we bought a decent bottle and didn't drink the inclusive wine (or beer) I still think this is a brilliant deal. Breakfast was very good too, lots of choice and nice fresh fruit salad, only €3.

"Good stay for the price."

5
User 21/05/2019

Friendly staff, multi lingual, good position in Trieste. Rooms well equipped. It has parking available at a good price and the breakfast is varied and plenty for only three euros per person (at the time we stayed). We'll go back any time.

"It was good until..."

3
User 13/08/2018

Our general impression of the hotel was good until we had a bad experience with the guy in the front desk, who´s name was Costelo. Not because of the hotel policies, but because of the way he comunicates them to the guests and his overbearing and intransigent way. That alone made us reconcider our previous good impresion of the hotel.

"Friendly Multi-Lingual and warm staff."

4
User 09/07/2018

The hotel is located in a residential zone. Getting there from the Trieste main bus/railway station, take bus #1. Once you know the area, then you can walk around from the hotel or take the bus. The rooms are clean and tidy. The breakfast was amazing and only €3 per day you can eat all you want. The restaurant staff was very warm and welcoming. There are local supermarkets around the area and local bars as well. The hotel could use some modernisation.

"Good option for Trieste"

4
KD_loves_travel, Mumbai, India 24/05/2018

The location is not very near old town but a bus from just outside the hotel takes you there very conveniently. I thought the hotel was a very comfortable stay with good staff who spoke English. Breakfast was good. A good option if in Trieste for 2 - 3 days. They have a parking garage for a fee, but I managed to get a spot on the street and left my car there for free for three days.

"Bike Friendly Hotel in Trieste"

5
Pinar P, Italy 11/05/2018

We organized a bike tour from Trieste to Lubiana and let our bicycles shipped to the Hotel San Giusto. The hotel was so kind to help us with the bikes. They received the delivery of the bikes, kept them in a safe place until we arrived. Our stay at the hotel was very nice. They were all helpful. Hotel San Giusto has a bike park, they also hire bikes to the hotel guests. The breakfast was perfect. They are also very close to the famous restaurant "Da Libero" which you should absolutely try.

"Comfortable Hotel"

3
VacationsByK, Mumbai, India 09/05/2018

We stayed here for two nights. We were greeted by friendly staff when we checked in. They informed us of all bus details and places to see in the city. Rooms were comfortable and decent, although small. WiFi worked well. The shower space in the bathroom was a bit on the small side though. It is located near a lovely church and quite close from a bus stand.

"Basic but good hotel"

4
Georgiy1308, Helsinki, Finland 28/03/2018

I stayed here only one night. I arrived around midnight and really appreciated quick check in and staff was very friendly. The breakfast is pretty simple. The is not big but quite comfortable. Cannot say too much as I had only short stay

"Perfect"

4
User 22/01/2018

Good location. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms and the breakfast was also ok. You can park on the street and go to the center with the bus. You can buy your ticket 30 meters from the hotel and the bus stop is there as well.

"a quiet stay"

4
Maria P, Salice Salentino, Italy 18/10/2017

We were greeted very well at reception, with the smile and the presentation of hotel facilities. Before entering our room the staff gave us information about the city of Trieste. In the room we found a small gift offered by the hotel for a special occasion, in the newly renovated bathroom and spotlessly clean we did a fantastic shower, we did not hear any noise in the next rooms and slept very late in the morning. The hotel employees were nice and they showed us what to visit in the city. The breakfast was very full of sweet and salty meals, very nice staff we can not forget.

"Nice small hotel, good location"

4
User 07/09/2017

The hotel is small, but everything was good. Rooms are clean and functional. Breakfast is standard but tasty with lot of italian cakes and candies. Staff is polite. Bus station fordowntown is very close to hotel,.but also you can walk for 15 minutes. Also shopping center Torri D'Europa is just about 900m from hotel. I was there for three days and I would recommend this hotel.

"Small hotel in all ways - but exceptional breakfast"

3
johnsD9009PL, Southampton, United Kingdom 24/08/2017

Only stayed for one night and, to be honest, glad that that was all. Small hotel in all ways - lift for one person and several steps to get there. Room probably the smallest I have slept in for years. Bathroom and Toilet definitely the smallest I have ever experienced in a hotel. I know I am a big lad but it was impossible to get in the shower. Even my modest sized wife couldn't turn round in there with the door closed. Toilet was under the sink ... well at least our legs were. Not again please !

"Piacevole soggiorno al SAN GIUSTO BEST WESTERN HOTEL TRIESTE"

4
CLAPEZ, Latina, Italy 24/08/2017

The hotel is located on the hill 15 minutes walking from the very center of Trieste . You can walk down to the city and enjoy a nice walk, but on the way back it is better to take a taxi ( 6 euros cost) The hotel offers private parking (to be booked in advance) and 2 minutes walking there is a large public parking/garage . The hotel outside appearance must not discourage you. Infact the overall services of the hotel are good and you will enjoy it. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff

"At home."

5
Menno K, Tel Aviv, Israel 20/08/2017

The hotel is not in the hub of Trieste, nevertheless everything you need is nearby. Neighborhood restaurants, mingle with the local population. Parking place provided by the hotel. Nice rooms with good air-condition.

"Good little hotel a short bus ride from the main square"

4
bgoliver, Toronto, Canada 12/08/2017

It was an average hotel with all the basic amenities of a hotel of its class. It was a short and easy ride into the main square by bus or a 20 minute walk downhill in and uphill going back. The hotel has a supermarket close by and a few restaurants if you would prefer to stay in the neighbourhood

"Good value"

4
Keithrow, Royston 08/05/2017

Lovely little hotel at the top of the bus routes 1 or 10, ten minutes from the town centre. Don't try walking it though, as the hill is very steep. Reception area was very inviting with a small bar. Rooms were small but comfortable. Could have done with switching on the air conditioning, as opening the window made things quite noisy. Reception staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. Breakfast was incredible value at €3. Nice little pizza restaurant, La Tana, just around the corner. The Old London pub down the road was fun, but not very genuine.

"second visit still as good"

4
User 14/12/2016

Most enjoyable stay offering good service and offering a very warm welcome. Excellent standard of cleanliness and helpful with any requests made of the staff. I would certainly recommend staying there and look forward to my next visit.

"Most accommodating"

A9045PZfabios, Adelaide, Australia 18/10/2016

Wonderful service by all staff. Have stayed here before and will continue to stay with them whenever in Trieste. Breakfast was excellent and the assistance given in direction etc was very well appreciated.

"Ok"

3
User 14/08/2016

If you come from Liliput then it is ok to get parking otherwise dont waste 16 euros for a dezastruos parking space. The rooms are clean, small and the one I'm staying in has no fridge so it is kind of a turnoff. Good thing is you can make tea, just perfect for a 35 degree summer day. Bathroom is clean but the showers are meant for people with an Auschwitz body type or who have no legs. If you have 1,90 or if you are a little overweight forget about taking a comfortable shower... they are 1M per 1M. My guess that this was bought by Best Western and was just rebranded. The staff speaks english pretty good and are very polite. Other than that Trieste smells of urine and fieces so I don't see any reason to actually stay here.

"very good standard in a nice city"

4
tomvlas, Pardubice, Czech Republic 20/07/2016

The hotel offers Best Western standard with large rooms, available parking, good breakfast, available wifi. Location next to San Giacomo church is about 1 km from the city center in walking distance. The costs of the room are very reasonable.

"Good service, traditional hotel"

4
Erkki L, Espoo, Finland 27/06/2016

We liked this traditional Italian hotel. Also the receptionist was very positive. The hotel had paid safe garage, which is a big plus. Bed was not very comfortable, but ok. Quite a walk to the city center, but nice things to see on your way......

"Older, comfortable"

4
mttnyc, Pompano Beach, Florida 20/06/2016

We stayed here mostly because of the positive reviews and the garage parking(extra charge). The hotel is not very close to the port, but the # 10 bus stops right across the street and its 10 minutes to the port. There are shops and bars nearby as well as a supermarket. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Michele at the front desk and Lea in the breakfast room, who both speak english well! The breakfast is great! The rooms are quite smallI but very functional, and very clean. I would certainly stay here again.

"Good hotel for short stay"

3
User 30/05/2016

Hotel is not in the walking distance to the city centar but is good enough for short stay. You can park your car on the streats around hotel without paying but if there is no place, hotel has its own garage. Room are small but clean. Breakfast is very good considering the very reasonable room price per night. Staff is very friendly.

"One-night transit hotel with garage and great coffee"

4
Végh A, Godollo, Hungary 30/04/2016

Nothing special, small, clean and comfortable room, relatively quiet area, and twenty minutes walk to the port. The first meet at the breakfest with italian double esspresso is unforgetable. (not american wishy-washy) GPS recommended to find. I feel a bit high the 16 € for car park, but it was camera obseved..

"Comfortable and friendly"

4
User 21/12/2015

Found the hotel to be very well situated for the city centre as well as local historical sites. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very spacious even with a double and a single. Cleanliness was good and a great choice offered in the continental breakfast. We will definitely stay again. On the local bus route (from the train/bus station to almost outside the door)

"Horrible"

1
Torkildsen, Bergen, Norway 09/10/2015

Stay away from this flee pit. The hotel is old, the room I was given was last upgraded in the year Napoleon passed through Trieste on his way to exile on St.Helena. The breakfast is less than average for a good hotel. I close with my opening words.

"Rob"

Robert V, Looe, United Kingdom 10/09/2015

We have just stayed here for three days. From booking in to booking out the staff were superb in every respect. The room was ultra clean and serviced well each day. The breakfasts were fantastic , with a great selection of food ranging from cheese omelettes, cold meats, cheeses, range of breads and cakes of every description. The breakfast staff always on hand. Best thing was free coffee in the reception 24/7. All anybody could want on a visit to Trieste.

"Needs a makeover, staff as well..."

User 29/08/2015

Signed in as a smoker given 4th floor room after 2 pm, room was not ready (towel hanging on wide open door) and cleaning lady says I cannot go there anyway as I smoke...defying the front desk. Said only 2nd or 3rd floor only. Back to the front desk and I get a 1st floor room. Another defiant cleaning lady on that floor as well. Room half the size of what I paid for. No fridge, no safe, wi-fi fine but uses antiquated browser login...not mobile friendly. 2 wall plugs by bed is it. Doors noisy on 1st floor (I was in 109) do not go there...see attached photos judge for yourselves. Had fun on toilet with sink in my lap. Compare shower size to toilet. And love the Casablanca movie keys...very portable. Oh yes, you can listen in on the TV from the next room no problem. Observe the lovely view. Front desk overbearing when I asked for a credit...said it was my fault because in the future they are going nonsmoking. Oh yes, when finally settled in, the cleaning lady brings another couple into my room without knocking. I am a Diamond Elite Best Western repeat customer. I would only recommend this place to someone I do not like. BTW the front desk was full of excuses and made it still my fault somehow. Cab driver told me place has gone down hill since owner died. Wish I'd have talked to him first. Since they have Best Western Plus...rename this place Best Western Negative. Not the Best Western I know in Canada, US and Europe. I'd pull their franchise until they smartened up.

"Small hotel off the center"

4
oridx, Tel Aviv, Israel 15/08/2015

This is a nice hotel, off the center, next to a small piaza (by S.Giacomo church) with some cafes, restaurants and shops. The S. Giusto cathedral and old castle are good 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was tiny even in European standards, but clean and with all needed facilities. The big plus of this hotel was the breakfast - which had rich buffet with great food and service. That's why i'm ranking this above average. Also, staff was helpful. Parking costs extra. Area is quite. Good value.

"Nice"

4
User 17/06/2015

Its good located, friendly people, rooms small but good enough. Breakfast is so good and delicious. If you need a car park its closed park with price. You can walk around the city center. Nice pizza points and bars around the hotel

"Bad experience"

2
Tahseen1980, Trieste, Italy 29/05/2015

It was my worst hotel experience ever, rough staff with really not acceptable behaviour, the location of the hotel is in not recommended zone, but they play with name of the hotel , because san giusto is one of the best zone of Trieste. They charge my credit card one night more without even apologise, they asked my guests to bay for breakfast which was included al leat for one of 2 rooms i booked. Bad
