My room key did not work properly. It could only be used to get into my room once and then I had to go to the front desk to fix it. I had to do this 5 times in a single day. I would go all the way ip to my room only to have to go back down to fix it. Eventually I went straight to the front desk to preemtively fix my card before going up. None of the staff seemed concerned about it and refused to give me a different room with a door that worked.
No microwave in the room coffee machine in bathroom i didnt have a phone to call front desk general manager was unrespecfull and raised the voice on me the coffee was just water, to far to be coffee nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I've stayed here MANY times over many years and it just doesn't get better for me. Whenever I cruise from Tampa, this is where I stay the night before. Great staff, spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. Hot breakfast every morning, and coffee available 24/7. Business desk, fitness center, swimming pool and plenty of parking available. Shops, stores and restaurants up and down and within walking distance. Prices very reasonable, too! The manager, George, and his staff are as great as they come! Professional, personable and do what they can for you every time!
Great service very clean the restaurant in both stay were great with stores yhe beach was beautiful and the historic center fabulous in San Agustín. The stay in Tampa was also very nice had breakfast early had no fruits Aveilable. The Tampa Best Western needs specific American soil.
The needs a lot of upkeep and repairs. Flooring is failing and they are covering it with rugs. Stains on the floor in the room. Trash in the landscaping all around the building. The room bathroom was not as clean as I would expect and I had to make repairs to my toilet to keep it from rum running all night. Entertainment system was barely functional and channel selection did not match the list sheet left in the room. I won't stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. We stayed in July 2024, purchased 2 rooms, each room had signs saying not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. Not sure where to place the used toilet paper as there are no trashcans in the bathroom. When reserving, you may ask if this issue has been remedied before booking.
This place was perfectly fine for a one night stay in anticipation of flying out of Tampa International Airport the following morning. Typical BW quality and value all around. No problems and certainly no complaints. Best Western Rocks and RULES! A!!!
I was surprised at how nice this hotel was. It met all the important things you hope to get in a hotel.
They have bed bugs and called us liars. I showed pics of bites on my body and they refused a refund and told me they didn't care. I had to go to a Doctor for treatment. It's appalling.
Excellent for a weekend stay. I need a accesible bedroom because of my son and when we arrive the room was ready. In a great area near malls and restaurant. Near the highway. Friendly employees. Added to my list of good hotels for futures trips.
We stayed here one night while passing through Tampa. The staff were helpful but the hotel itself is in need of renovation and a full deep clean. The breakfast was very basic and missing several items. I was glad it was just a one night stay and definitely would not return.
The staff was very nice and did their job well, but we found roaches near our cosmetic cases in Bathroom and also in the closet near my open luggage. Tried to call the front office but the phone didn't work. Then to top it off our toilet didn't flush and fill, we had to do it manually. We left immediately then and decided not to try the breakfast.
I had a room booked here through Priceline.com. When I arrived at the Hotel, the parking lot was nasty and the front of the Hotel was not welcoming. I went inside and requested to see a room. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating and allowed me to go to a room on the main floor. As I was walking down the hallway, i noticed mold growing on the walls near the floor and the odor of mildew was overwhelming. The mold/mildew odor was even stronger inside the room. Since I have major allergies, I went to the parking lot and called Priceline to let them know that I could not stay at the hotel, due to the mold. The gentleman at Priceline called the hotel to verify my claims and stated that they would not refund my money, because the manger was not at the hotel, but I could attempt to reach the hotel to "Plead my case". I went up the street and stayed in another hotel. For three days, I attempted to reach management at the hotel, but was told he was not in every day. I finally called Priceline and they assured me they would do what they could. Today, I received and email from Priceline stating that they will not pay a refund, after speaking to "George" at the hotel. In my opinion, "George" and the owners of this hotel are clearly in the business of ripping people off. They, for whatever reason, believe it is OK to keep someone's money that never spent 2 minutes inside their hotel.
I was told by a front desk employee they removed all microwaves because guests were misusing them and they got roaches. She said I could use the microwave in the breakfast room which had an unlocked door but when I used it late night a different front desk person came in and said nothing but stared at me. It was eerie. I shared I was told it was OK to use and he told me he was told guests can't and I had to use one in a closet down the hall. I did but it that was un-lit and had a slop sink and stuff on the floor; it looked like a refurbished restroom. I asked to speak to the manager because I wanted permission over the next days I was staying to use the one in the break room, not in that closet. I was told the manager would call me the next day at 10am. The manager never called and I asked for him midday and then asked later in the day about 3:30. I wanted permission to use the microwave in the breakfast room, get one, or some other solution -- and to tell him there is info on their site picturing a microwave so they might want to know that for future guests. The front desk person called the manager, George, and then gave me his phone number and when I called George he blasted me. He said he was “personally insulted' by me calling him on his cell phone and yelled asking me how I got his number. (I didn't want to get the young man at the desk in trouble). He knew about my request for him to call at 10am but said, instead of helping me, that I was required to check out the next day and he has “authority”. He spoke patronizingly with phrases like, “listen this is what is going to happen”, “do you understand?” “how do you like that?” He said has the right, is the decider and kind of ranted for awhile. I tried to diffuse his anger by not saying anything and then explained my simple reason for asking to talk to him and apologized for any misunderstanding. He switched gears and then seemed nice, told me he was coming back to the hotel and will be speaking to me in 5 minutes. He said his job is to make me happy and I don't have to check out. It was odd. I was down the street, came back and waited 20 minutes in the lobby but he never came to me. He had a microwave put in my room and the front desk clerk told me that after I waited for 20 minutes. When I looked at reviews for this hotel it was interesting to note that the owner writes back to reviewers and is professional and nice. This manager, George, also responds to reviewers and is sometimes professional but not other times. Twice, Georges says he is banning the reviewers from ever coming back (sounded familiar). He also signed his name with “GM and Gate Keeper” under one of his responses. (Really, he sees himself as the gate keeper”)I had some good experiences while there and a couple other not so good ones, but this was over the top. My toilet was backed up and they gave me the plunger myself and then a toilet brush and cleaner. Sadly, I planned to stay there again in 10 days when I come back to Tampa (I wanted to stack up some Best Western points) but, of course, I won't. I guess you could say I am banning myself instead of having the Gatekeeper do it. If you need a microwave, this not the place. If you don't and don't ask for any special things it is in a great location and there are some good features …
Understanding that things might go wrong in acceptable, but denying what went wrong go wrong and treating customers rude is not acceptable. Let me explain for potential customers: When returning to the hotel at 8pm, the room/bed was not made and trash was not picked up, however the housekeeping lady did enter to only change towels in the bathroom. Nothing they could do that night as housekeeping leaves before 5pm and the man in charge had no alternative. Next morning I spoke with the acting manager, Shelini who denied any wrongdoing and offer me a hotel $25 card. I told her to escalate it to the manager, George, and minutes later told me that he say no compensation and that I could check out immediately should I didn't like the hotel, when I had already paid for another night at $150 each night; unbelievable that you could find managers that do no care for customers. Never again I will book in Best Western. I normally spend over 50 night per year in hotels.
Tried 3 different rooms and they still could not provide us with a clean one. Makeup on towels, hair in bathroom, urine on toilet, previous guest food in fridge, vomit down the side of the bed, food crumbs on the floor, dirty bathtub. Major dust collections around mini fridge It was absolutely disgusting. We left and found another hotel.
The hotel was dated. Lobby was small but the common areas were clean. Did not have the free breakfast but it looked like the typical BW spread. We had breakfast next door at the IHOP. Has a pool and fitness center open 24 hours but did not check them out. Our room was small but basic, clean. There were not enough towels but we were only staying one night so we made do. Overall, an ok stay for a quick night after a late flight before driving to our destination.
The staff was attentive and helpful at all times. The hotel is very convenient. The hotel and the rooms were attractive and clean. The housekeepers do a great job. The breakfast was complete. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel is located near a very busy street. There is a nice all you can eat Mexican restaurant in walking distance. Overal decent and clean hotel with friendly staff. They also have a good breakfast buffet
Staff were nice. The hotel itself has been run down for so long and no monies being put back into hotel.Cold shower , floors had stuff on them as well as stains. Not very well lit and I assume that's to keep any guest from seeing all the filth and short coming that are prevalent!
I had requested a room with two double beds because it was the least expensive option. I was shocked when I walked in to find a massive room! It was very clean, modern, and spacious. Rooms at this rate can often feel very cramped. Not this one. In addition to two beds, a comfy chair, a desk, and the TV stand (with drawers, fridge, microwave), there was an additional alcove with a sink, large counterspace and more drawers. The bathroom was also very large and clean. It was truly a great value and such a pleasant surprise.

This place is a basic hotel. Have fitness center and the price include continental breakfast (eggs, waffles, sausages) 6am-9am and fresh lemon water and hot coffee all day. Simple and basic hotel. The only thing is that for take the entrance with my car is some complicated. I was obstacle the traffic fluid for cruze to hotel. Later make turn left and the street was outlet. Made u turn and finally on the right was the entrance
Employees were very friendly. Room could have been a little more cleaner. It seems like the carpet was not vacuumed. Overall it wasn't too bad. We would stay there again. Convenient location, plenty of restaurants. It was on the main avenue.
Upon entering this hotel I felt transported to a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel! George and the entire hotel staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and polite! I felt very relaxed, the beds we're comfortable, the room amenities were wonderful and a nice hot shower welcomes you to wind down after a busy day. We were a group of 5 rooms booked for Gasparilla weekend and they even allowed us to use the Breakfast room for a group dinner together. We enjoyed a good time together and cleaned up behind ourselves afterwards. You won't regret choosing this Hotel for families or groups!
Good stay high price for the weekend but it was NFL Playoff weekend breakfast was really good. Did not use the pool if there was one or the fitness center. I love the fact of on the first floor. Vending is too high as well. 3.00 for a soda, chips and candy bars
Great stay. Clean room, good service, beds were lovely. Bathroom was big enough for all 3 of us to spread our stuff out. Breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel. After trying to check in elsewhere (not a BW hotel) and finding a roach infestation, we were so relieved to have a nice place to stay.
Staff was very attentive and took care of everything. Brealfast was nice and hot and well stocked. Rooms were clean and as advertised. Nice hotel for the money. Checked in on Christmas day and staff was still friendly and attentive. Had small issue with room heater but taken care of quickly.
the billing was not accurate, they charged your cards after you are gone for the amount that you paid. they over charge your stay, they have unfriendly staff, but they have good breakfast, a small coffee maker, microwave and fridge.
This just wasn't the greatest experience at all, there was mold in the coffee pot provided in the room, the bathroom sink leaked our whole stay never fixed even after reporting, and the breakfast was terrible slim to no options, burnt food, and the same thing 2 days in a row.
Staff, super nice (Cassidy*) STRONG smell of MOLD in 1st floor rooms (tried two before getting one on the 2nd floor) Carpets throughout are old and stained. I would not walk barefoot there. Otherwise, the room was very clean. Hard beds (which I like), great bedding. Room is spacious, with a fridge (pretty iced up inside, but it kept my almond milk cold enough) and microwave - but the microwave control pad is all in French. WTH? Television is small and not much variety of available channels. Ironing board in the closet was very rusted. Simple attention to details is needed. Clean bathroom, but tiny. Comfortable tub, water pressure is medium, water doesn't get hot, just warm. Toilet flushes slowly, but the tub drains GREAT (this is rare in many hotels. Love the little hairdryer, surprisingly efficient. A/C works great, black-out shade is great on the really small windows. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage patties, belgian waffles. That did not change for the two days we were there. Also available: variety of fruit choices, some breads. I have health issues that leaves me with very few options and the only thing I could eat was the instant oatmeal. No brown sugar, no microwave, so I had to carry it up to my room to cook it. Not the worst stay I've ever had, but the mold smell downstairs and the stained carpets are the main reasons for the low rating. I would not walk barefoot there.
Hotel is very up to date and cleanliness was top of the line. Ample parking especially for someone riding a motorcycle, had a great spot right in front. Roomy and plenty of amenities. The only downfall was getting into and out of the parking lot, especially if you are going southbound on the Blvd. I would defenitely recommend it.
We were there during Hurricane Ian 2022... had to evacuate original bayfront hotel with less than hour notice but within a couple hours we were able to book BW Tampa and extend (almost daily). Mother nature had other plans for us and we were not able to rebook our flight until Saturday night. All staff encountered were exceptional and helpful. There were a few power flickers and a couple multi-minute power outages but otherwise my husband was able to work on the laptop and stay current with work since our stay was extended. We considered ourselves very blessed! Tampa area in general is a great place to visit! I highly recommend BW Tampa as the place to stay and we will be back!
The hotel was in a good location. It had a good breakfast. The rooms are very quiet. We had plenty of space. The second bedroom was a little warm. It needs its own air conditioning unit. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I stayed at this property recently for a concert in town and when we got to the hotel that evening the power was out. There was absolutely no one at the front desk, not even a sign to let us know anything. After a very inconvenient night of not sleeping without electricity, during checkout there was no communication at all about what happened. I called the hotel two days later expecting to speak to management regarding our stay and all I got to mention was that “I was a guest staying there the night the power went out…” when the manager ABRUPTLY interrupted with “that was not our fault and i'm not giving any refunds” and HUNG UP the phone on me. Never even had I mentioned about a refund! I called BW Corporate to complaint about the way I was treated only to find out that their General Manager GEORGE CASANOVAS put me on their “do not rent list” because he *falsely* claimed that I was harassing him. Be aware of this so called manager, he literally lied by saying I was harassing him (he hung up on me before I could even speak!!), I could not believe this was happening. I'm sure this wasn't the first complaint or won't be the last about George, this person should not be working in the HOSPITALITY industry. WORST SERVICE and treatment I have ever received from a “manager” and a company since BW Corporate has not been helpful at all.
Very recently upgraded exterior appearance, reception and room furnishings. Well located. Adjacent to multiple restaurant choices. Downtown Tampa is pretty close. Spacious room. WIFI connections were effective.
The best part of this hotel was the front desk staff and I feel bad I didn't catch her name. We had never been to Tampa Bay and asked her many questions and she was beyond helpful. We needed to find the best way to get downtown and she helped us figure it out. We needed to figure out how to and where to park downtown she helped with that. We travelled to many Best Westerns during this trip and found she was the best person we encountered. The next morning at checkout we asked this same wonderful person about the best way to get to a beach. The rooms. They were ok, basic room. There was a very strong smell when we arrived at the room but assumed it was from the sanitizing or cleaning as it dissipated after awhile. The free breakfast in the morning was a pleasant surprise. The room where breakfast was clean, open and someone to clean off the tables after each person left. The food was also quite good. We were happy for free parking at this hotel as some hotels in the area charge for parking We would consider staying here again if ever in Tampa Bay.
I was impressed how kind and helpful the front desk staff was. This BW was inexpensive yet everything was super clean! It's located near fabulous restaurants and even Trader Joe's & Whole Foods! The gym had what I needed & the free breakfast was hot and fresh! It is an older property but besides that it was perfect for my one night stay.
The hotel was JUST okay. I set up a wake up call at the front desk only to find out in the morning that there was no phone in the room. The room smelled like wet laundry the entire stay. The A/C unit only worked sometimes. The bed was very comfy! The WiFi worked great. The breakfast options were basic but it's also a pandemic so I didn't expect much anyways. Overall the room seemed kind of old but it did the job
We had to change rooms because of a dead cockroach on the floor. The next room we found had a jar of Vaseline and a dirty cup behind the nightstand. Rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly. The free breakfast offered was ok. The gym needs work and more equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
Room and lobby are clean and modern. Shower temperature was uncontrollable, one time it never had hot water. Elevator is old and clunky. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast had the usual choices, and things were fresh.
It is really hard to get a 5 star review from me. However this place managed to get one. It was 11am before a 4pm Bucs game on Sept. 19th. I walked in hoping that just maybe they can get me in my room before 2pm when I wanted to leave for the game. The woman at the front desk was beyond nice and charming. Most other chains When I have requested an early check in I tend to get an attitude from them. Not her, she jumped right up and said she just needed to check with the maids because there was nothing she could see on the computer that was ready. She came back and told me that it would be ready in about 15 minutes, and sure enough it was and I was in my room before 11:30. This tends to very rarely work out. I have never asked for a check in anywhere this early. Not only did that wow me but every time I walked through the lobby there she was still smiling and wanting to chat. She told me she was working a 16 hour double shift. I'm not sure how she manages to have such a positive attitude for that long. I certainly couldn't do it! I wish I got her name so I could add it here to the review. I do know any time I need to stay overnight in Tampa the first place I am checking is this Best Western. Amazing job to the cleaning staff as well to get me in. Room was very clean. Everything looked new. I couldn't have been happier with my stay.
Very clean, friendly staff. Great location, front desk personal were helpful and friendly. will definitely be booking my stay with best western more often. The location was great for my stay. Can't wait to book again.
The check in was flawless as usually, Mrs. Shalini always provides my two requested bottles of water. However, during this stay in my room the AC unit was making a loud sound. this was not noticed until I arrived in my room a 1am. The following day the manager George Casanova set in motion to exchange out the AC unit and credit my night. the service was quick and clean. In addition the breakfast is always fresh and well prepared. Thanks for the service.
The staff was so very helpful and sympathetic during a very stressful experience. I was exhausted and worried after my 91 year old father broke his hip in Mexico, and we were flown via a medical evac flight to Tampa for an emergency hip replacement. They definitely helped make this ordeal so much easier! The hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable too. I was able to sleep well while there, and so was my father after his discharge until we flew home.
I was pleasantly surprised at the overall appearance of this hotel. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly, courteous and welcoming. This made for a very pleasant stay as we were in Tampa for a medical procedure.
This hotel has some age to it, but the owners have kept up with renovations. It is in a busy area (you will get some traffic noise) with restaurants within walking distance (IHOP next door), but no attractions or view. No other hotels in this vicinity. Breakfast service has been restored and the food, while typical of this type of hotel, was fresh and well stocked. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room and common areas inviting and spotlessly clean. Microwave and fridge in room. Free parking. One unusual plus I noticed was a chair to lower a handicapped guest into the pool. My only con would be that the windows in the room are quite small, comparatively, but the room and bathroom are spacious. Full housekeeping service has not been restored and is only offered every third night, although fresh towels and trash pickup are offered by request. This is not a "resort" hotel, but rather a good place for an overnight stay a bit farther from the airport or an economical option if you need to be in the area. We were visiting family, so we will definitely be back after this first experience.
Overall this Best Western was clean and staff very friendly. Great value for what is included. Breakfast had good variety. The only negative thing I would say is the fitness room needed some cleaning love. They had no cleaning tools in there so machines couldn't be wiped down and cleaned properly. It looked like it hadn't been serviced in a few days as the treadmill had dried sweat marks on it. I took the extra step of finding some cleaning solution and towel to wipe down the equipment.
This hotel is in a great location! Manager was very helpful and the checkin process was seamless! The breakfast was also very good and there is a fitness center as well! I would most definitely stay at this location again
This is a decent hotel in Tampa. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and functional. One issue we had was a constant pot smell on the 3rd floor. We reported the smell to the staff so hopefully they were able to properly deal with the offending guests.
Everything was so clean. Very quiet and organize. Staff very helpful and friendly especially Alana and Shalini from front desk. Super breakfast like always. Close to everywhere, super location. Very elegant and beautiful entry.
The hotel was clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast bar was very good and had a nice selection of different foods for everyone. The staff kept it very clean and stocked.
I would not stay at this particular Best Western again. Only 2 suites are available, and the suite we received didn't have a door between the rooms. The manager apologized for this and the fact that hospitality banged on our door twice, waking my husband prior to our pre-arranged late check-out. They did reduce our room cost to the price of a single room, but in hindsight I've requested a refund.
Great place that is centrally located to my market surrounded by eateries and other businesses, close to the airport and sports venues. People are great and the team always ready to assist in anyway. The rooms are large with your typical amenities but perfect for a business visit....
From the moment i made reservations staff was super friendly upon arrival fast check in during my stay staff made sure to check on us often make sure we had what we needed great service by all staff . Clean rooms great area minutes away from downtown
Very close to the Hwy and good restaurants. Very clean. Safe and the staff is super helpful. Pool area clean and well kept. The front desk staff was super friendly and the manager gave exceptional service.
Great place to stop over! On our way to St Pete's! We had such a great time visiting Ebor City. and eating at The Columbiana Restaurant. We will be going back again! We also stopped in at Downtown Disney at Disney World the market place had so many things to offer.
Nice hotel, fairly new, large room, clean and quiet. Average breakfast and nice pool area to lounge in. Some nice restaurants within walking distance. River Walk was a very nice are to spend some time not too far away.
This Hotel was very concerned about the Covid19 and appeared to be taking proper precautions for this. We ate breakfast in the eating area and everything was clean and orderly. Tables were being cleaned immediately as people finished their meals. Our room was very clean as well. The pool was clean and price was much cheaper than staying near the beach. The drive to Clearwater was a pleasant half hour drive. We also visited several Parks in the area right on the bay and all less than 20 minutes away.
No one was at the front desk when we arrived. Their phone was ringing non stop. We waited at least five minutes. The male clerk had been working on vending machines down the hall. No apology was made for keeping us waiting. Unfriendly overall. The hallways and our room had a musty smell. We woke up to no hot water for showers at 8:30AM. It took many tries to get someone to answer at the front desk. The same man who checked us in said that it would be 30 minutes. Didn't tell us then that the circuit breaker had been unplugged for one of the hot water heaters. Again, no apology was offered. We had hot water at 10AM. The breakfast area was very small for the size of the hotel. It was difficult to walk between or around the tables. We were very glad to leave this hotel.
Have stayed at this location for several four or five days stays at a time and always impressed by staff hospitality and ! Large rooms, clean and comfortable; good breakfast and very good bold coffee!--We'll be back!
Every decent hotel was booked because the Leafs were in town. The guy at the desk would not take my credit card because it was expired. The expiry date on it is 10/21. Luckily my son had a non expired card otherwise we would have had to sleep in the car. I have been using my card every day since I got to Florida and every day since I left the Best Western Tampa with no issues. The issue was solved the next morning by Shalini who appreciated our patronage. I will not be back.
The Best Western in Tampa was the worst I have stayed in normally the units are great but this one left a lot to be desired I had two rooms one had a broken refrigerator and the other had hair in the shower lots of hair
This stay was my first in Tampa and it's purpose was to "recon" to get the lay of the land. I found this Best Western to be very centrally located. Roughly a 5 mile circle contains "everything" from the Ybor City historic areas, Stadiums for The Bucs and Yankees Spring Training, and Tampa International Airport. A quick search or drive around revealel a wealth of dining choices from moderate to elegant.
It was a short trip to Tampa Bay to complaint with schedule visits after my Kidney transplant. The cost ratio to the hotel was adequate and fair. The location to my purpose visit was excellent. The hotel lunge was nice and well organized. The fast service to get the welcome in and key to the room was outstanding. The room was well planed in the layout of services. The night was quiet and restful with no disturbing noises or anything like that. The breakfast tasted delicious and nutritious, specially the coffee. I will recommend this hotel to anyone interested in visiting Tampa Bay.
Good location, reasonable price and value. No complaints or suggestions. Well, there are 200 minimum characters required for this review so I guess there is more to be said. This is not a "PLUS" property so don't expect that level of crispness or quality but still, very serviceable and a good location and value. One amenity I didn't expect was the size of the room. It was much larger than the average hotel room which made it comfortable and convenient for accommodating the roll-away bed which was needed as we were traveling with three grandchildren. Queen beds would be nice vs double beds. But we made due with the double beds and no one died.
Best Western hotel on Dale Mabry was very good choice in service, location, cleanliness hotel to stay. Visited Armature Works and Heights Public Market where we had and snack and drinks, it was excellent experience. Had dinner at Ulele restaurant, and the was excellent as well.
This hotel was perfectly fine. My two friends and I were just looking for a place to sleep after a night out in Ybor City and it was a great value, a sleep, and they had excellent bacon in their continental breakfast.
2nd stay at this BW staff is great. Close to air and cruise port. close to food and shopping. Decent breakfast. Everything is clean. Parking available . Only thing missing is airport/Cruise port transportation.
A friendly greeting when we arrived and throughout our stay. Our room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable A bit of a musty smell in hallways. Breakfast was good. Convenient to all we planned to visit in area. About 15 min from airport and Tampa cruise port.
I like Best Western because it is so conveniently located to other stores and businesses in Tampa. I don't have to drive when I can walk just a few yards to some really good restaurants. And then it is also located within South Tampa very well known for its accommodation and availability.
Nice clean and close to everything. Staff is polite and rooms are big. All complimented by a great breakfast. Excellent access to the highway. Easy to get to. Easy check in and easy check out. I used express check so everything was ready when I arrived.
Have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Early check in is allowed as long as your room is available. Large rooms, comfortable king size beds.TV and radio in rooms. Bathrooms have been remodeled. Good breakfast, variety to choose from. Something for everyone including children.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel before embarking on the Carnival Paradise. We had a wonderful time. Hotel staff was pleasant and very accommodating. We will be choosing Best Western for our future vacations.Thank you
I was disappointed that when we was booking the hotel that it was rated 4 star, Not! The room was musty and the toilet rim was gross. It stayed like that through the whole visit. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room.
Best Western in Tampa is a great place to stay... Friendly, helpful and cheerful workers. I always feel good staying at at Best Western.. The hotel is very clean, rooms are comfortable and very clean.... Complimentary breakfast is good, but I think there could be a better variety of breakfasts...
I was booked to stay in this hotel by my employer between 4-14 Sep 19. The place is more-or-less what you would expect for the price; the staff were nice, the breakfasts are ok but fair to say that the place is in need of new carpets and smells a bit of damp and cleaning chemicals. The elevator - which smells a bit like cannabis - also gave me one or two scares by showing the wrong floor number and by stopping until another button was pressed, but I informed the staff and used the stairs after that as I was only on the second floor. I am not in the habit of placing reviews on sites such as this, but on this occasion I feel as though I have not been suitably compensated for what I consider to be a serious environmental health incident, and wish to warn others of encountering a similar ordeal. Around the second day of my stay I noticed it itching on my legs and back, which I at first attributed to something familiar such as mosquitos or similar flying nocturnal biting insects. As the week went on, the problem seemed to worsen until I showed the bites to a colleague who suggested they may be bedbugs or fleas. Upon investigation, I noticed that these bites here indeed identical to those of bedbugs and after feeling the bites in my room, took the offer of staying at my friend's nearby hotel in his spare bed until I could deal with the matter the following morning. The next day (Wed 11), I discreetly informed the reception staff of the problem before leaving for work. By lunchtime, I was impressed to find an email offering to move my belongings to an alternative room. I accepted this offer to find that I had been placed in a suite-sized double room. I was unable to check out as this hotel had been booked on my employer's contract, and I had decided to give the hotel staff the benefit of the doubt as they had at this stage been helpful and considerate. The gesture of the suite, however, served no benefit to me as a person travelling alone, I simply closed the door to the other room so that it wouldn't require servicing by the hotel staff. Upon departure, I received a sincere apology from the lady on the reception who advised me to tumble dry my clothes (something I wouldn't do to delicate expensive items), and that the problem had been ‘brought down from somewhere up north'. I was told that the manager would be in touch, and I received an email from the manager later in the day to say that I was being given a one-night reduction from the ten-night stay of $101.02. This is where the pleasantries ended. I emailed the manager back to explain that I consider this to have been the absolute minimum that the hotel could have offered me, but unfortunately, the manager was not as understanding and polite as his front desk staff. I explained that I did not stay at the hotel for one night due to the bedbug problem, and therefore consider myself to have not been suitably recompensed for the cost of laundry, my measured discreetness and above all, the discomfort and revulsion of being bitten by bedbugs over several nights. I prompted the manager for a response after several days offering a compromise to reach a better offer of compensation, but I was accused of threatening him after explaining that would only remain discreet for a limited time. The incident was then referred to by the manager as 'alleged' after it had been acknowledged by his staff and he invited me to do what I want with the pictures and information that I had recorded from the incident. Bottom line is, if you don't want bedbugs, don't stay at this hotel. If you still wish to book and take the risk, be prepared to be inadequately compensated by somebody who infers that you are a liar.
The hotel was very nice. The workers were polite and facility was very clean. Easy check in and out. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Had no problems or issues at all. Keep up the good work!
Check in was fast. Everyone we encountered was friendly. Our room was very nice. The bed was super comfortable. Shower was great. Everything worked as it should. This hotel is close to Raymond James Stadium. We did not partake in the free breakfast, but it smelled great! We would definitely recommend this hotel!
I have never stayed in a more filthy hotel. The rugs were so dirty that our feet were black in less than 1/2 hour! We ruined our socks walking on the carpets. We couldn't check out because we were running from the hurricane and everything else was booked. The decor and hotel looked nice, the bathrooms had been renovated...but come on, hire a carpet service! Even so, the staff was very pleasant.
I stayed at this hotel evacuating from Hurricane Dorian with my 2 children. Upon arrival, the room stunk like urine and the carpets were disgusting. I later noticed ROACHES in the room, on the nightstand between the beds and in the dresser under the TV. I was absolutely disgusted and slept with the light on all night so I could watch to make sure nothing crawled on me or my kids. I would have left immediately but It was 11pm when I noticed the first roach and all hotels in the area were already full with others evacuating. UNACCEPTABLE. The lady at the front desk said that once they started offering a free breakfast, patrons would take food to the rooms, hence the roaches. SO THEY ARE AWARE AND CONTINUE TO RENT THESE ROOMS OUT! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stayed in room 207.
The bacon at breakfast was the best feature. Room smelled weird. Probably a disinfectant to counter mildew for the high humidity. Carpet was filthy. My feet were black from walking barefoot in the room. Free, but limited parking. The lot floods when it rains. The air conditioner leaked, but fixed within 1 day. Friendly staff.
Hotel receptionist was very nice and got us checked in quickly. Had a nice swimming pool that our 2 kids enjoyed. Nice complimentary breakfast. Only problem was our bathroom was dirty. There was hair all over the shower walls and on the bathroom floor.
My friends and I traveld to Tampa from Ohio for vacation. We stayed for a week and got friendly service, clean rooms, free breakfast and the rooms are not expensive! You cannot really ask for more out of a hotel room!
We checked in rather late Friday 18th and we were unable to find parking due to plenty of cars doubled parked. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk person (Ryan Heart) he said they were completely full and we were instructed to park on the side of the building on a poorly lit and unsafe grassy area next to the hotel where my car could've been easyly broken into. I did not pay to park in an unsafe space because your employee wont call the tow truck and have the doubled parked cars removed. Nothing was done. Morning after they were still doublw parked. All their friendliness is worthless if their actions dont match. The carpets are FILTHY, the rooms are not cleaned properly, I found someone's dirty sock right next to the night stand. The mattresses are hard and uncomfortable (hello shoulder and hip pain when you finally are able to sleep). I much rather pay the extra $50 a night somewhere else. The review gets one star because of the continental breakfast. Otherwise it would be 0 stars.
This was the first time I stayed in the Tampa area. I was not sure where to stay. I stayed at this best western and was very satisfied. The location is close to MacDill AFB. And plenty of places to eat close by. One thing that was a problem... the parking. All the spaces were designed for small cars. I drive a F350 dually and could not fit in one space.
hotel was nice, but there was an odor that smelled like it was closed up and no proper air flow. Breakfast was okay, but get there early as they ran out of a few things. Don't ask the front desk to get you a taxi as they will call their buddy's. Use Uber, it is half the cost of their buddy"s. Close to the airport and the cruise port
My Lady & I were down to Tampa for the DOD Warrior games at the convention center - ( an outstanding display of sportsmanship by Warriors from several countries competing in several types of events even with many physical challenges - I was in AWE of them ) - we stayed at the Best Western Tampa about 4 miles from the Convention center - the room was clean and the A/C was great - breakfast in the morning was included and had a good variety items for breakfast - eggs, bacon, toast, muffins, OJ, coffee, cereals, bagels, milk and a lot more. The staff was excellent and I would absolutely stay again !!!!!!! The hotel is is showing some wear & tear, but still a great value !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Decent enough hotel but not great. Room was mostly clean but showing age. Decent value compared to other options in the area. You can get a much nicer room for around the same price a few miles towards the airport if you are flexible on location.
The Best Western exceeded all my expectations and we will be back to stay the staff and the breakfast was over the top, hot and fresh there was no complaints on our in for anything it was indeed a pleasure and one to remember
This place was great- AC was nice and cold, breakfast had lots of choices and all was fresh, Wifi was better than most. parking lot is very small and spaces are very tight. Room was clean and comfortable. i would stay again!
The hotel is located near MacDill, shopping, and Raymond James stadium. The breakfast is hot and cold. Coffee was very good. It is an older hotel, carpet is well worn, smells a little musty in places. Room was good, slept great, very quiet for a busy weekend. Staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly.
Chose this location for an appt at Tampa General Hospital. It is located in close proximity and convenient to stores and restaurants. The staff was quite accommodating, and the facility clean. The only complaint, the bed was not that comfortable with a very thin blanket, and the towels were very thin and rough. There was a hot breakfast which was mediocre.
Booked two rooms here for an overnight stay. It's located on one of the main drags, Dale Mabry Hwy, which has everything you need on it. Parking is limited but we found a space. When we checked in the chap at the reception was very nice but he looked as if he'd slept in his company polo shirt for the past week. The rooms were ok but a little tired and weren't cleaned as good as they should have been. We didn't hang around for the complimentary help-yourself breakfast as it didn't look too appetising. But all in all, the hotel served its purpose.
Great hotel, very quiet. The people who work at the front desk are very friendly. The lady who checked us in was awesome!! There was a small pool but we did not use it. Was only a 20 minute drive to the hotel from the airport
We were in Tampa for a grand daughter's college graduation. The hotel is convenient to downtown Tampa and to the airport. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for three nights while visiting family. The room we were in was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside were the old and worn hallway carpets. They need replacing. I was afraid they would reflect what our room would look like, but they did not. Would stay again.
I was impressed by the hotel's cleanliness, the staff was friendly, the lobby and rooms looked nice, and the beds were comfortable. I needed to finish homework online and luckily they have complimentary wifi that actually works well
We have stayed at this Best Western twice now before boarding our cruise. The Staff and rooms were excellent. It is situated halfway between the airport and the cruise port, with a short 10 minute UBER from the airport to the Hotel and from the Hotel to the Port.
This best western was very close to Tampa airport, Restaurants, Cigar City Brewing & Shopping, also close to Downtown Tampa & not far from Gulfcoast Beaches. Our room was spacious & had a Mini fridge & Microwave - Quite comfortable & was quiet. We stayed here our last night in Florida & it was very convenient for getting back to the airport, we will stay again when in this area :-)
Stayed one night pre-cruise. Property is clean and staff very helpful. Breakfast is included and was very good. The pool area is very small. It appeared that our room was recently redone. We did not have a car but parking lot was not very large. If we were to visit Tampa again, I would stay for a short visit.
Good location, friendly staff and good breakfast! The hotel is very clean and provides water and coffee all day (and mints every time you pass the front desk) We had a wonderful time in the pool, despite the bugs and other things floating, but thats expected of an outdoor pool in Tampa, just wish someone would have used a net to clean it during our 6 day stay. It definitely did not matter to the kids though!
The hotel was less than four miles from downtown where a cab ride was approx. $13.00 one way. The room was great, had everything you needed and as a Best Western Rewards Member you receive a welcome gift (bottles of water and snacks) upon arrival. Only ten minutes from the airport. Several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Hot breakfast every morning, good selection of items to choose from.
We we able to check in early with no problem. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. The location was very convenient, 10 minutes from the hotel and University of Tampa.
One of the older hotels, price matches the hotel. Breakfast was good. Parking was a nightmare considering management were happy to allow 18 ton trucks to park overnight in the carpark. We had to park in the restaurant down the road. Use express check out which was easy
This hotel was very clean. It was very convenient to our trip, attending a Yankees spring game. It was 3 miles from the stadium. The staff was very nice and we would return if in the area. Breakfast was great but breakfast area was very small.
Check-in was a breeze, friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable, and motel offers free breakfast of usual fare. Rooms are all interior entrance, and parking lot does fill up early. Would stay here again.
I had elective surgery done and the doctor suggested that I get a hotel since I live over a hour from the surgery center so I booked here with Best Western. I booked the night before so that check in time wouldn't be an issue since I'd need to be in the room well before 4:00pm. The beds for comfortable the bathroom was pretty narrow but recently updated. The carpet could stand to be replaced but it wasn't horrible. Now for the BEST part... The staff was amazing! After seeing me walk in post surgery (which was not a pretty site) the house keeping gentleman let us into our room after my mom realized she'd left the key in the car. As she was walking back in the manager and staff offered their services in any way that they could. Every time they saw my mom they were very nice and always asked how I was doing and offered their services again if we needed anything. That's what GREAT customer service is all about! Thank you to all of you at Best Western Tampa!
We stayed here so that we could catch our flight the next morning. The room is a good size. The breakfast is great. Everyone was extremely pleasant. Nice dining room with plenty of table and chairs to eat breakfast. Distance is 4 miles to airport and we got to Hertz car rental within 15 minutes.
good location near restaurants of many varieties; close to the mall and downtown ; down the road from george steinbrenner field able to watch practice most mornings-kids enjoyed that. I would definatly stay here again
I stayed here twice this visit to Florida and on both occasions, they had the best room price at High season, located 4 miles from Tampa International Sirpirt, excellent free breakfast, free wi-if. There's no shuttle to the airport but that's no deal-breaker. It's in walking distance to restaurants, clothes stores, vape shops, tanning, grocery stores, and across from Christ the King Catholic Church. Love it!!!!!
Hotel staff made a mistake booking our second night, got a phone call during second day insinuating we overstayed and lied about second night. Returned to find my possessions in trash bags in a back room.
We moved to this hotel after checking out of the Quality Inn Airport due to the cockroaches in the room and the rude desk staff (see my separate review of that property). Best Western was less expensive, and we had a large first floor room that was clean and neat. In addition, we were given a little bag of goodies as a welcome gift for being a returning guest of Choice Hotels. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, and they have a computer available to check in for your flight and print boarding passes. The included breakfast was delicious, with real scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and a wide variety of other breakfast foods. The only negatives are not having a shuttle to/from the airport, and our room was not made up when we returned from sightseeing at 3:30 in the afternoon.
Worst BW I've ever stayed in. Reservation at check in was messed Up, made me sit on a couch in the lobby for 5 plus hours waiting for a room. It was explained at the time of the reservation that we would be coming in at an odd hour. After a 4 hour flight I sat in thier lobby for 5 hours.
We had two rooms booked through hotels.com. They only had one as reserved as refused refund. The front desk staff could not have been less helpful. Hotels.com was very helpful. Will not make another reservation here EVER
The room was very new feeling, fantastic up keep. Front desk was amazing which was so nice after traveling all day. :) I highly recommend this property to anyone. I will likely be making trips to this area every year and will come back to this location religiously!
This is a decent hotel that is not too too far from the airport. There are some shops not too far from the hotel. Place is quite clean, older hotel though can use some updating. The breakfast is good. A decent place to stay for a day or two.
Hotel staff is great. Beds are uncomfortable and the whole place needs an update. It is clean and breakfast was good. Good for a low cost room. It's in an area hard to get into. A few places within walking distance including a Fresh Market.
Great quiet clean hotel, also nearby is the best pizza ever (Anthony's Coal Fired!) You should book this hotel for that pizza alone! Overall the free breakfast is nice too, the wifi works, not fantastic but I'm spoiled with fiber internet at home so I'm jaded, but otherwise highly recommend Best Western. They are consistently awesome.
Not the fanciest hotel, but if you are looking for a place to crash while in Tampa, this is a good choice. Easy to get to and the front desk was more than friendly and we felt welcomed the entire time.
stayed in Tampa for one night after visiting family. I've stayed in this hotel before and have not been disappointed. the tub ran slowly and all the bottles were conditioner rather than shampoo, conditioner, lotion
There was no help to take our luggage to the room. You had to use the luggage rack and take it up the elevator on to your room yourself. Hard to navigate on carpet floors. I am a senior and this was not easy to do. In addition, the room had a horrible smell, like stale tobacco. After complaining, the help did spray the room, but it did little to dispel the foul odor.
We stayed at this hotel about a week ago and felt that it needed to be updated. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was small and very awkwardly laid out. The room was clean, the towels were fresh and there was plenty of hot water for our showers but it was not the best hotel we stayed in during our two week road trip. It is located in an area that has plenty of businesses and places to eat and not too far from the Ybor City historic district. Although it is in a busy area of town our room was quiet and we were not bothered by road noise. The breakfast selection was not great but it was adequate. All in all I can say that I have stayed at worse hotels but I have certainly stayed at better ones too.It does have interior corridor and an elevator for those concerned about security.
We enjoyed our week-long stay in BW Tampa. The central location is superb (easy access to the bridges and causeway to St. Pete), though driving onto the property from Dale Mabry can be something of a challenge during rush hour. Several good restaurants within easy walking distance. The pool was well maintained and provided a relaxing respite after a long day in the hot Florida sun. The staff was simply superb. A special thanks to George and Yanet!
Huge rooms, equipped with fridge and microwave, complimentary breakfast, close to downtown (10 minutes). Friendly and helpful staff. I was very happy with everything for this price. I will definitely stay there again.
We were having our house tented and looked up affordable lodging. Booking way in advance, we chose Best Western South Tampa. The rooms were double bed and standard bath. A/C worked great. There are two handicapped spaces, which we grabbed when available. The staff was nice and helpful. The cleaning crew didn't speak English but I know enough to speak Spanish.Check-In is 4PM and Out is 11AM. I expected this to be a really noisy Hotel and was dreading it with my PTSD, anxiety. My elderly mother even had no problems taking a shower in a standard tub when she most always require a walk-in shower. The bath does have a large metal bar to hold on to.TV is standard LG "38 with HDMI input for streaming boxes. Spectrum limited Cable TV with Showtime channels.Breakfast is 6:30 to around 10AM and offers great choices. If that is not to your liking then you have an IHOP right next door that is 24 hours. I give this relatively new Hotel 5 stars as I am very hard to please given my disability. BTW, we were on the 1st floor looking south. Parking may be limited but given the over development here in South Tampa our Mayor has approved, it suits me fine!
We only stayed one night at this hotel but it was very nice.We were able to walk right behind hotel to The Local restaurant ,delicious! Easy to find hotel right off expressway. We would definitely stay here again when we are in area.
This hotel is clean, efficient and especially filled with a group of employees that are very helpful, courteous and offer great customer service. I would say it works best for a business trip due to the closeness to the airport and downtown. If you want to be hanging out next to the Ocean or on a balcony you should probably head towards Clearwater. I myself will definitely stay at this Best Western again. Great time in Tampa! Thanks to George and the staff!
I chose this Best Western because it was the closest one to Busch Gardens it was only 25 miles away I had an easy check-in and check-out experience I will definitely recommend and will stay here again
I had a meeting in Tampa and came in early to stay here and prepare. The hotel was quiet and had what I needed to get my work done. It was also close to restaurants and a bus stop to go downtown since I did not rent a car.
Excellent service. Quick check in and helpful since we are not from the area. The lady who was working the evenings at the front desk was super helpful & nice.the room was clean and the housekeeping staff went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you
Would recommend this hotel. Staff very efficient, accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable. Good location for our planned activities. Over-all clean, modern, nice towels, 24 hr pool. Plenty of breakfast options.
Visited here for 2 nights. The hotel and rooms are a little bit dated with a slight damp smell, however for the price and location this is an excellent choice. The staff were brilliant providing milk for our young child after a late check in and local stores had closed
The Best Western hotel on Dale Mabry in Tampa has far exceeded our expectations. George, the manager, as well as the other staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast bar is good and there are a variety of cold and hot foods! The room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely return!
Great customer service . Upon arriving after a terrible travel day , the two ladies who checked me in were very helpful and friendly . I couldnot get my iPad to connect to the internet in order to stream a movie but other than that my stay was excellent! Breakfast was ok . All hotels have the powedered eggs which I personally do not care for . There were no breakfast meats . The rest was fresh and Well displayed . I would recommend this hotel .
We stayed one night at the Best Western Tampa. The hotel is on a busy road with lots of commercial businesses as well as restaurants, shops, and hotels. The hotel has free parking, pool, jacuzzi, free morning breakfast, 24 hour coffee and water area. Our king room was large and clean with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine. Bed was comfy and hallway was quiet. Staff was friendly and willing to answer questions as to attractions, directions, and good restaurants in the area (Bonefish Grill is a block away) If we needed to stay in a hotel in downtown Tampa. The Best Western Tampa would be a choice we would consider.
We booked this hotel for 3 days at the end of July, my daughter was taking the Bar Exam.. we booked early.. which was good they filled up fast. There was not an unfriendly person working in this hotel.. our room was spotless...the Wifi was amazing and since she had to load the exam from our hotel that was a must...it was close to everything it took us about 10 minutes to get her to the Convention Center from the hotel...and food was close.. we went exploring while she was in the exam and it was super easy to get around from here...
Convenience and availability of room at short notice of needing a room. Great customer service and staff here were excellent in helping me and my family obtain rooms. Thanks for all best western do in providing customer satisfaction.
Stayed at the Best Western for two days while in Tampa. It is an ok place to stay for a few days and great for the price but expect no frills!. It is also well located to the Malls and there is a Trader Joe and some restaurants within a walking distance. The continental breakfast was good. The staff and front desk were courteous and nice.
George, the manager, and everyone that works there could not be nicer. Everyone, that includes front desk, breakfast ladies, housekeeping are as friendly and helpful as possible. The place is super clean (one of my requirements), very comfortable beds, clean pool, good and varied breakfast, and has daily newspaper for guests. Great location in the middle of everything. A very reasonable cost. Now, the only negative that can be said:there may be an electric outlet that doesn't work or a lamp. It does seem to be a older motel. The good , by far, outweighs the bad.
Parking is very limited and mostly for compact vehicles! Tough to turn around or park in parking lot if in a truck. Hotel is outdated, could use freshening up. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Location is close to lots of attractions.
We got in late from our long day of travels . We just needed one night . If you don't mind an outdated hotel then this is the place for you. Over all the place was clean the beds were comfortable . The breakfast was just ok they didn't have any eggs and I have not seen paper thin bacon like that before. But ... For the price you cannot go wrong and ONLY for one night .
We were on vacation in Tampa. We needed to get to all the attractions and downtown from a central location. This Best Western was a great place to stay close in proximity to all Tampa and St. Petersburg attractions. Hotel room was very quiet even though we were on South Dale Mabry.
The hotel is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was flying out of the Tampa airport early the next morning, so wanted to stay somewhere close. This provided the perfect spot. The rooms had modern decor and the hotel was very quiet. Will definitely stay here again.
The hotel had a disgusting smell, like a cross between a sewer and mold damage. It was not evident in the lobby but I was assigned a room on the first floor and before even getting to it I was overwhelmed. The fact that they gave me that room without even mentioning thie issue was unbelievable. There were fans running and I later found out there had been damage on WEDNESDAY and this was SAT night!! I asked for a different room, which I was granted on the 3rd floor. The hallway there was fine, but inside the room there was a moldy smell comming from the airconditioner and the room smelled. It was already midnight and I had to get up a 5 to catch a flight so I really did not have a choice. The next morning the clerk only said "I'm sorry" and then I found aout about the damage. I have asthma and I could barely sleep. There are serious health issues here. Even if this was an emergency, the fact that they did not notify registered guests or those with reservations or help in any way says sometihing about their lack of concern. In retropspect, it would have been better to just leave and stay up all night at the airport.
Welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast items and always fresh coffee. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well. Extremely profession and very courteous staff. Great place to stay if you're going to George M. Steinbrenner Field for a game, or to Raymond James Stadium during football season...just 3 miles away!
Location was close to our final destination. Friendly staff greeted us upon our arrival.Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Close to different food options, and a IHOP is adjacent to the Hotel. Hotel seemed to be a little outdated, Lobby was dark and halls were hot, bathrooms needed a little TLC. Vending machines were a little over priced. Would recommend for a stop over stay hotel or Business stay.
It's 10 mins from the airport and another 10 mins to town, good location. Room was average, bed was comfortable, had a room on 2nd floor facing a side street which was quiet and spacious. Ample parking, Located next to an I-hop. Staff were friendly. It took 40 mins to get a taxi at 4.15 AM. Barely made my flight. I would stay here again.
The room was missing light bulbs and there were no luggage racks. The internet worked very well and was fast. The bed was comfortable. The location was very good for what we wanted to do and I think the price was fair. We would stay again.
I take back the "hard to" part. It is really "impossible to". This place is less than 10min drive from downtown, has a lot of nice places to eat at less than a minute. Staff is SUPERB, helpful, friendly. Rooms are clean and the whole property shows that it's been taken care off periodically. The included breakfast is great for the price. Will definetly stay again when returning to town.
The price was reasonable. The staff was friendly and nice. They include a decent breakfast buffet. The hotel itself is run down. The carpeting in the hallways of this hotel are completely worn down. How they leave it like this is beyond me. The room was clean but nothing to write home about. When we asked the front desk where we should eat dinner she told us to go to a restaurant behind the hotel and that we didn't need to take the car. We walked back there and two homeless guys were there in the middle of a heated argument. That was it for our walk. We ran to the car and picked another place. I will not be returning to this place.
We were travelling to Tampa for a Yankees game and the location of this hotel was perfect! It is right down the street from the stadium and was close to the University of Tampa where my niece attends. The rooms were extremely clean and the staff was very friendly.
Not a very good stay especially for the room rate. Could have done much better elsewhere. Was in town for a wedding and thought the wedding party blocked out rooms and would be getting a better rate not so. Rate varied from night to night and a single room rate was same as a double. Room smelled immediately as you walked in
We stayed last night at the Best Western Tampa. It was excellent!! We had a really nice first floor room. They have a great location close to downtown but not right in the thick of it. There are plenty of shuttles, buses and cabs in the area. The staff was really nice, friendly and professional!! They have a really nice hot breakfast! I highly recommend you give them a try when in the area.
I've been staying at Best Western Hotels in different cities in the northeast. This was my first opportunity to stay in one in Florida near the airport since we were scheduled to fly out on the 7th. Of course, that's when the nor'easter was hitting New England and our flight was cancelled. This has to be one of the nicest Best Western hotels I've stayed at. First, the reception person at the front desk was marvelous. The personnel serving the breakfast were very good. The room was quite acceptable, everything was clean and comfortable. My only challenge was we couldn't stay a second night because it was sold out! That didn't surprise me after experiencing the hotel itself! Good place to stay!
Sadly this hotel has seen its better days, but was ok for a one night stay. The room was clean and the front desk person friendly and accommodating. I did not see anyone else working at the hotel. When I opened the door to my room, I was met with a wall of a not so pleasant air freshener. My first instinct was that someone must have smoked in the room, but I did not notice any cigarette smell. This room just need a little upgrade, new paint, new drapes, new carpet in the hallways, a little touch up and deep cleaning of the bathub areas. A replacement of the linens would sure help too. The breakfast was average, nothing outstanding, and the breakfast room was a place to sit down, but nothing memorable. Will I come back? Well maybe if I cannot find a better option close to downtown Tampa.
Place has been remodeled and renamed, and the new product is far superior. Great staff, oceanfront view and truly relaxing...far above the value of other 2.5 star hotels in the area. My ‘go to' hotel for every trip to SW Florida.
Selected this BW for its proximity to Memorial Hospital of Tampa. This location was easy to find and is less than a mile form the hospital. Close to some restaurants and shopping. Will be staying again at this BW on next trip to the area.
Very clean. Considering the hotel is on a busy road, the room was still very quiet. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of both hot and cold food. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Tampa.
My Goto hotel recently has been The Best Western....I have not had a bad experience yet....It seems like the franchise keeps a good eye on the brand and expects nothing but the best from its owners. ..The past 3 BW's i've visited were all in different Locations NJ / Miami / Tampa and all 3 seemed to be Very well in-sync with corporate standards. Ive enjoyed all visits and plan on more in the future....I would love to try new Hotels but in my last experience straying away from my normal stay at BW i was disappointed. SO until i hit the lottery or suddenly become rich ill Just stay here at the BW because for the price you get more than you pay for.
Very spacious room (2 doubles) with mini fridge, microwave and real comfortable beds. Super accommodations for the price. Clean, tidy. Also close to Busch Gardens, so that was very convenient! Plenty of resturants near by, and also a walmart.
We stayed overnight while visiting several friends in the area. The bed was OK and the bathroom functioned well. Internet and TV worked well. Breakfast looked good, but we didn't use it because we ate elsewhere with friends.
We made the reservation here last minute instead of driving back to Orlando after the Monday night Bucs game. We were a little hesitant about staying after reading negative reviews. Awesome stay and very economical!
Would stay here again and recommend to others. No problems. Nice staff. Great location. Good price for good quality room. No complaints. Older building but clean. Parking is limited but using Uber helped.
I stayed here for 12 nights due to working in the area. I'd say it was pretty average. I had a few issues with some of the staff; there was confusion over how many nights that I was booked in for by my company; the reception staff assured me that I was booked in for my required duration, but the day before I was expecting to depart that turned out not to be the case. I also requested a late check out and was told 1200hrs would be fine - The cleaner turned up at 1100hrs requesting that I vacate my room. A clean and conveniently located hotel - but staff at times were not overly helpful.
I only stayed for one night but it was great. Front staff was courteous and the waiting area was big enough to just lounge around and watch the tv. The room was well clean and enough space to move around. The hotel is near Dale Mabry and other roads but I did not hear any traffic noise. The a/c is well maintain cause turning it below 75 really cools down the room quick. The room has a nice size fridge and microwave and had enough space for my clothes in their dressers. For the bathroom they made sure to use every space. When you open the door they even made space for the door to not be in your way. If you are near the toilet though the area between the toilet, sink and bathroom is a smudge fit. The shower was of good size and the heat and cool work as they should. The breakfast area was a good size and the hot breakfast was delicious. They even had assign staff restocking the breakfast hot items when the food started to run low. I enjoyed my stay but the only thing I wish they had was more parking. For a hotel that has multiple floors its not much parking.
nice place, very clean, pleasant staff; was an easy drive to Tampa Gen Hospital which is why we chose this hotel only problem was air conditioner -- could not maintain a comfortable temperature; when unit running, room was cold, when unit off, room was uncomfortably warm would stay there again
This hotel was very clean the staff was very respectable their pool is open 24 hrs a day they have a fitness center on the third floor of the hotel there hot breakfast was very very good and and the dining room was clean
This was one of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed in, and we stay in a lot because we are Best Western Rewards members. The location was great. Next door is an iHop, and down the street is a taco restaurant and a bakery. Also in walking distance is a beautiful Fresh Market supermarket (similar to Wegman's or Whole Foods). The hotel's free breakfast of oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, and danish and was beautifully presented in a clean environment. Would definitely stay here again while visiting our daughter.
Clean, Quiet, Fair Price, Decent Breakfast Choices Friendly Accommodating Staff I usually stay at another nearby hotel when in Tampa. I decided to make a change and was very happy. Great Location near or in middle of all places I need to go/be. Close to Airport
I booked a room at Best Western Tampa through bookings.com with a month of advance. Due to a problem with my credit card, the hotel cancelled my reservation without notice. If they had called/email I could have easily solved the issue but the hotel preferred to give the room to someone else. I had a late flight and was almost homeless.
Best Western, Tampa is conveniently located for Cruise participants. The rooms offer lots of space, a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and a hair dryer. Housekeeping does a great job keeping the accommodations spotless and smelling fresh. The hot breakfast is a special treat to help you start your day off right and round-the-clock coffee is a much appreciated perk.
Good location, attentive staff, good breakfast, reasonable pricing. They care about your needs and are always willing to assist you. Biker friendly and courteous with discount for Harley Davidson riders. This chain is my favorite while riding in the US or Europe.
The hall carpet is old, worn, and looks dirty. The room carpet looks like something from the 60s. The decor is ancient. The hallway smells like hydraulic fluid. The whole place seems dark. The room smells like urine. I didn't mention bugs. I saw the little guy who did the damage in the picture. Didn't catch a picture of him. He must have gone in the hole. But you can stay here. Just don't say you weren't warned.
We traveled from India, and this was the first ever experience in US .. Awesome response from the reception.. Clean rooms.. good pricing, better proximity to major landmarks!! Would definitely recommend.
This hotel provides an excellent value at a location that is a short drive to downtown without a lot of hassle. The property is clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is better than average for similar hotels.
We stayed at the Best Western Tampa to see a concert at the Arena. It was close enough to the venue without costing us an arm and a leg. The hotel was nice and clean and reasonably priced. There are so many good restaurants close by. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come again.
We found this Best Western to be one of the best we have stayed at in a long time. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room also bery neat and clean and the food ess hoid too! We enjoyed our short stay butwill stay there again!
An excellent place to stay if you are planning on attending any event at the Amalie Arena. It is only a 3.5 mile drive to the arena! We attended a concert( Carlos Santana) and made reservations at the Best Western and were very pleased with that hotel.
Easy check in and check out. Room was clean and very functional. Breakfast had good fresh options. Spur of the moment trip so was great for my purposes. Quiet room so able to sleep well without disturbances.
Hotel was good and rooms were also good as well. Worth paying for it. No one can eat the same menu everyday and everyday is different and need to change menu if not everyday at least alternate days. Staffs were friendly
Nice accommodations very close to Amalie Arena - less than 4 miles. There are many dining choices nearby. Great staff and a nice breakfast is included in price which was very reasonable - less than $90.
Room smelled like mildew. Pubic hear on toilet seat. There was stool on the hand towels (I have pictures). I told hotel manager and asked for refund. He yelled at me that I would not get refund and said he was going to call the police. I left in disgust and would never come back!
I was looking for a hotel wherein we could sleep before our cruise, keep our car parked there for the duration of the cruise. I called the Best Western and spoke with Brandy. She was awesome! She advised that they did not have a shuttle, but we could use Uber. I booked 2 rooms. A little difficult to find the location but well worth any small difficulties. Brandy was at the front desk, she remembered making our reservations, she had a ton of useful information. The rooms were clean, the staff wonderful, our cars were safe, Uber drivers were wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel and even better was being able to park and cruise!
Typical 2 star. We stayed only one night because of late arrival into the city. The odor in the lobby and in the room was terrible. We were unable to get a good nights sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful, but will not stay there again because of the smell.
Economical and professional stay! This is a great way to have a home away from home. When we travel for my sons sports events we must look for value and a comfortable stay at a hotel that is clean and centrally located as Best Westerns Usually are.
The hotel, located in a commercial area (plenty of restaurants), is tired and needs to be updated. The bathrooms are extremely small. The hotel offered a continental breakfast. Best to stay on 2nd floor since it more quiet.
Stayed onbe night before a cruise. Clean and well maintained but just average. Pool is ok but small and no hot tub, was first week of October and pool was cold, not heated and sun blocked by building. Free breakfast was ok, price was great for the night. Not a high end hotel, few restaurants within walki by distance and hotel is short ride to cruise port.
I was a bit concerned as the surrounding area seemed a bit shady but all concerns went away after arriving at hotel. Property was clean and updated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offerings were decent. Would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.
Place is centrally located. Not too far from Amalie Arena. Starbucks close by. Hotel is very clean and functional. Breakfast in the morning is good. Your typical best western. No complaints at all. Stayed one night with no issues.
This is one of our favorite Best Western Hotels. Great service and very friendly staff. Location is perfect for beach or city events. The breakfast is delicious and offers a variety of items to choose from.
Hard, uncomfortable beds. Low water pressure shower. Took forever to rinse with the drip. Filthy floors! Walking barefoot on the carpet in the room made my feet black with God knows what. Disgusting! Out-dated carpet in the hallways. Noise suppression at doors and windows not so good. Got woken-up at 0430 from garbage pickup. Breakfast was OK. Need to cook eggs in small, frequent batches to avoid getting rubbery.
First note that I am a loyal Hilton Honors member and had to stay here for business purposes. It was so far under the service I am accustomed to. The lobby was small. The room was clean enough however, my toilet had issues flushing. I was on the first floor and the walls were so thin that I heard everything. The breakfast was ok but there was a tip jar out. I found that very tacky. I forgot lotion and deodorant and although the sign in the bathroom says they have toiletries, they did not have these. I will not stay here again.
The place looked real nice. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The place smelled like an old a/c unit. I did not sleep well. The bed was so uncomfortable and did not sleep well. The staff was very friendly.
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over a few year. I feel each time it is showing the signs of age more and more. Carpets look old. We were stuck in a smoking room even though we didn't book that and it was very rough. They over-booked their rooms and our friends who pre-paid their reservation were told they couldn't stay there and had to find a new place. Bed was extremely comfortable, Eggs&Bacon for breakfast were nice.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were pretty nice and the continental breakfast was pretty good, good selection of different things to choose from.Location was pretty easy to get to from Airport
This hotel was not as updated as the other best westerns we use but over all still a very good experience. Staff was very nice and helpful with any questions we had. The jacuzzi suite was perfect. Will stay there again.
Stayed here two nights recently and it is an excellent example of everything you expect from a Best Western property. Nice lobby and helpful front desk people who honored our room request without having to ask and gave us goody bags for being BW Rewards members. Our room was on the top (3rd) floor and was spacious with a nice high ceiling. A/C was strong. The included breakfast was perfectly satisfactory. We had one minor maintenance issue which was fixed immediately. Can't ask for more than that and we would definitely return.
it is in a great location with quick and uncongested traffic to down town, great price for the 2 nights I stayed. great experience with everyone. very friendly staff, and quick service. made my Comic Con experience greater. you guys were great. I am definitely going there when I go back to Comic Con next year. thanks
we stayed at this Best Western for one night before we were to board for a cruise out of Port of Tampa. The hotel is only 3 and a half miles to the port so was convenient. Room was clean, bathroom is configured weird so minimal space between counter and tub and toilet is in that space. Breakfast was very sufficient, hot foods and the usual continental type/
This hotel really still has smoking rooms which was a priority for me. I needed to park for an extended time. Even with the Uber cost back and forth to the Airport this was a great deal. The staff was extremely nice. Even for a smoking room it was nice and well decorated. Usually the smoking rooms are dingy and nasty but not this one! Will definitely stay there again. Has an IHOP next door and a little Taco place that was on Diners, Drive In and Dives TV show (great fish tacos BTW.)
My husband and I stayed here for one night when attending a concert at Raymond James Stadium. Very friendly staff, clean room, very nice breakfast. Great location for going to the stadium. My only complaint is that with the hotel packed, there weren't enough parking places, so we had to park on the shoulder of a side road. We would definitely stay here again when coming to an event in Tampa.
Front desk was welcoming. Made our kids feel special. The room was very clean and quiet and close to everything. The breakfast room was clean and food was hot and good. The rate was average but worth it for the service and room. Will come Back
After travelling for over a day to get to Tampa a full day before our conference, we booked here. What a hassle. We had originally four of us staying in the two bed room. Two dropped out. Everyone paid one girl & we used her card to book. We called the hotel more than once before we did any of this, just to make sure there would be no trouble getting the room. The hotel transferred the room from the one who paid to one of us that was actually using the room. They did this over the phone with the hotel. Safe to say what a waste of time. When we arrived, the front desk manager insisted they needed the original credit card after all these forms had been signed to switch the booking over as directed to do by the hotel. It took over an hour for this to be resolved & it was unnecessary as this was all done in advance to avoid the hassle. The pool was disgusting. Looked like it had never been cleaned. The rooms were gross. The toilet was broken. The shower didn't get hot water. At least the maintenance man was sweet.
Stayed two nights in a family suite. Great room for us. Brandy was of great help confirming our reservation and checking us in on Sunday night. She was not there the rest of our stay or I would have thanked her personally. She offered great ideas for dinner. Room was a little dated but the exceptional staff and open pool were great for my teenage boys. Wonderful customer service and a really nice included breakfast!! Thank you!
The customer service was great. Roberto was polite and detailed when checking me in. The breakfast was very good and really enjoyed the variety of items for the two days that we were there Our last day there, George was kind enough to help me out with a tray to take my children breakfast back to the room and was very engaged in talking with me while getting breakfast. The breakfast area was clean and someone was consistently coming in to clean up as guests were eating their meals. This Best Western was in a great location with different restaurants surrounding, Publix, CVS, and dollar tree. Not too far from Clearwater beach or the Tampa Riverwalk. Unfortunately the towels had really dirty stains and had to asked for several more towels and hand towels because they were dirty. In addition our toilet stopped up, but the young lady at the desk ( did not catch her name) came quickly and fixed the situation. Overall stay was okay. I kind of expected more, but I guess it was an overall okay stay.
Well-located, walking distance to Trader Joe's, Fresh Market etc. Reasonable driving distance to St.Pete, Busch Gardens. Good amenities. Comfortable! Will definitely visit again in the future, especially in summer.
Overall my stay was not terrible. I was there for 2 nights on a trip with my wife. We showed up at 11pm and the first thing I noticed was that there were only about 25 extremely tight parking spaces in a small parking lot and that was it. The hotel was pretty clean which is a huge plus in my book. The beds were rock hard and not comfortable at all. I could care less about a TV and spare chair. All I want is a nice bed since the primary reason for getting a hotel is to sleep overnight. Overall I would recommend it to someone if they want something clean and cheap. But I would warn them if the parking and beds. IF YOUR CAR IS LOWERED OR A SPORTS CAR, good luck getting in and out of the parking lot.
Nice place to stay for business people because of the location, near to the airport and convenience stores near to the hotel as well as place to lunch and dinner. Breakfast very nice (hot and cold). But also a Ihop door to door from the hotel. Highly recommend.
When we entered the room there was a very strong smell as if someone had sprayed a very heavy room freshener. It actually gave me a headache and I had to leave the room for a short period of time. I did report this. We also had an issue with the room feeling damp/humid. When we went to bed, the sheets actually felt wet. We had to turn the AC down to 68 degrees in order to keep it from feeling even more damp. Needless to say, I was freezing all night.
This is a nice place to stay without breaking the bank. George was very helpful and the staff was very friendly. We will be staying while we are working on a project in Tampa. ok so I'm out of words and you still want how many characters??? lol
I'd enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was less than 4 miles from Tampa General Hospital. The staff was very helpful and the food was good too...they served different variety each day. The rooms were normal and the a/c works very well!!! It's almost time for the carpet to be placed in certain areas but overall, I'd really enjoyed my stay.
Stayed at the Best Western, Tampa, beginning of April for two days along with others going on a cruise. Found out when I returned home that myself and at least two others (that I know of) had fraudulent charges made on our credit cards. The only place that the card was used during the whole trip was at the Best Western. Registered a complaint/inquiry with Best Western head office and they said they wanted to take a week to check into it. After more than two weeks I checked with them and they said that they had asked the Hotel about it and was told that there wasn't a problem, so the file was closed. I suggested that asking a thief if they stole something and they answer no, then maybe the answer should be taken with a grain of salt. The file was reopened and again they wanted a week to recheck the complaint. After another two weeks with no call back, I again called head office to find out the status. They said that the hotel checked with their credit card provider and was told that there wasn't a problem, so again the file was closed. I asked if this was all Best Western was going to do about credit card fraud and was told that yes, have a nice day and thank you for staying at Best Western. I can guarantee that I will never again stay at a Best Western Hotel, anywhere, when the attitude of Head Office about criminal activity in their establishments is considered ok.
Staff was nice, Beds were hard, beds were small in double room, peeling wallpaper in bathroom, carpet was grimy, no late check-out option, but breakfast was amazing. For a night stay, and price paid it wasn't horriable.
Our family trip to Tampa was amazing.. Tampa is beautiful, we all really enjoyed our self, looking forward visiting Tampa and staying at Best Western the staff was very professional and friendly the Continental breakfast was hot and fresh the staff keep everything clean and very organize. This Best Western was by far one of the best hotel I have stay at, very highly recommended,
Booked a room with 2 beds over a week in advance. When I arrived, the hotel was booked and my reservation was cancelled 3 days prior but no one called me or emailed me to let me know. I was put in a smoking room with 1 bed to share with 4 people. I was not given a roll out bed or anything. Nothing was done to resolve the problem. The person at the front desk was defensive and giving me attitude when there was no reason to. the room smelled terrible and was not cleaned very well. Carpets were dirty and the room smelled very bad. Hair was in the bath tub.
The hotel was great. The only thing that we feel that this hotel needs is an over haul in some of the areas. The hotel is on the old side so they are in need of a refreashing up course such as painting and a vent in the bathroom and the toilet paper needs a home.
wonderful staff and amazing breakfast! Rooms were a little dated but clean and ready, and nice size. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and ready to help with a good night's sleep. All around great experience after a very long day of travel.
Great hotel very clean and close to airport, major highways and restaurants and has a nice pool. Good breakfast as always so no need to go out for breakfast. In a nice area of town felt safe walking around
Beds were comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly the pool pumps were not working so no pool time breakfast fresh and hot Very quiet all rooms inside entry the bathtub was very small and the water pressure was soso but it got the job done
I had stayed at this property a few months prior to my friends Bachelorette party. When we decided that we would be staying in Tampa I know this hotel would be a good choice because it is centrally located to everything that we were looking for. Upon arrival I was greeted with a welcome back by Brandy who realized this was a special occasion and gave us an upgrade to a room that was a little lager and had a separate wet bar, large mini fridge with microwave. Being centrally located we had an easy time by car driving to YBOR CITY and the river walk area for dinner at Ulele. After a day and night of making memories to last a lifetime we were able to have a nice hot buffet breakfast before checking out. We had a wonderful over night stay.
Stayed the night before cruise. Room decent & clean. Wish staff spoke better English but they were friendly & helpful. Gave us a late check out. Someone left light on on our van all night & our battery was dead next morning and manager was no e enough to jump our battery so we could get out to store before leaving. Free parking for duration of cruise. Took Uber to and from cruise $13 each (had to use XL) Would stay again.
Everything went smoothly and the room was great. We stayed in the family suite which has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and it was perfect for my family. Camilla at the front desk was so sweet and very helpful.
The hotel was very clean, the rooms comfortable and breakfast was quite good, lots of options. Parking is a bit tight and not many parking spots. The hotel staff are fabulous! They went out of there way to make everything right.
Stayed 1 night. Room was clean and they let me check in early. Staff friendly. Sat by the pool- nice area. Breakfast was good. Had cold water and free paper in the lobby available at all times for guests. Close to many restaurants and stores if you need something.
Staff friendly and helpful. No airport transportation. Rooms are nice. Great place to stay. I would stay here again. Just getting from 6 airport is maybe four miles. Decorating of the rooms were nice soft yellow and appeared to have new carpet.
We came to Tampa to attend a 70th birthday party for my husbands graduating class of '65. The hotel was centrally located to the party, church and grandson's birthday party which was the following day. It all worked out well as we had breakfast at the hotel and then went on to the little one's birthday party on Sunday. We will use this facility again. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
The keys to our room didn't work. The person at the desk came up and checked, confirmed they didn't work, and said it was no problem. We could just call him and he would come and open/shut the door whenever we wanted to enter/leave. When we asked for another room, he said he only had a double bed (our reservation was for a King). We had to specifically ask him to check again for a Queen, and discuss leaving and driving to another town, before he admitted they really did have something other than a double. If you want a key to your room, stay elsewhere.
Hotel was clean and room was well maintained. Beds are doubles not Queens, this is mentioned when you book. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a full breakfast with many choices and a nice room to sit and enjoy it.
stayed here 2 nights prior to cruise. cost 15 $ taxi from airport and 15 to get to port....well situated. pharmacy near by, ihop next door....staff very helpful with information we needed ...we took taxi to city and had a great day before our cruise
Our stay was perfect, clean comfortable room, spa tub, pool just outside our door, restaurants walking distance and great food, large room and very clean, staff were excellent and friendly. Would go back anytime in future and the rate was excellent
Do no bother reserving a handicap room, we do not believe they have any! And the bathroom they do have, are smaller than the bathrooms on a cruise ship... Service is very poor. There is supposedly a pool located somewhere on the grounds, but no hot tub. Hotel is located in the ghetto, and the staff is proof of it.
I spent 3 night here and would have rated them higher except my room had a very tiny shower (there was also a hot tub in the bedroom which I did not use-a normal room may have a better shower). The place was clean and the service was excellent.
Everything you need is found at Best Western Hotel. Very convenience location, good rates, food and human relations. Close to Down Town and convenient to move to other Tampa areas. Reservations not necessarily but recommended.
We stayed here one night and enjoyed it. Nice room with 2 double beds. Friendly staff on check in. Full hot breakfast that we enjoyed along with other guests. Plenty of foods and good coffee. There are restaurants nearby within walking distance. Call for a lower price. We will stay here again.
Great customer service and very clean, quiet environment. The quality of service provided was beyond measure and I am planning to stay one of Best Western hotels in the future. Keep up the the great work.
We stay here fairly often, as our daughter lives nearby. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. There is nothing particularly special about it either. The rooms are decent-sized and seem clean. The breakfast is nothing special; just the basics, cereal, boiled eggs, oatmeal, a few bagels and muffins and the obligatory waffle maker. If you're looking for a place to stay in South Tampa, this Best Western is perfectly fine.
We were looking for a Hotel that was half way between my sister in law and my niece so it would be convenient to travel to each. It was suggested that we stay at the best western. It was a great idea. Conveniently located between both their home. We were going to be in Tampa for six days so I was looking for a good hotel that could accommodate my wife and her wheelchair. I made the reservation without being able to get handicapped room. Once I received confirmation I emailed the hotel and asked if there was a possibility of getting a handicapped room if one became available and thenext day got an email from George the general manager and he stated they would make sure we got one.We arrived and sure enough we had a handicapped room with the shower that you can role the wheelchair into. All the staff(Coralia, Maria,Carmen, Jacquelin,Yaritza and Yanelis) were so great to us. The pleasant hello's and goodbye's as you come and go are a great touch and all seemed so sincere. We had one incident on our 4th night and the person on duty sprang into action and had a situation fixed before we got back from dinner that evening .They make a nice breakfast(free) in the morning and there is coffee on all day and is always fresh. The hotel is on one of the main drags but the pool is situated in the back and you don't hear any road noise . Would definitely stay here again in the future.
Nice rooms with micro and fridge. Though, breakfast was not so good. No eggs, han or any other kind of salty food. Waffels wasnt also very good. But there is Ihop right next to it. Free parking and helpful personel.
We needed an interim stay when moving back to Tampa before our home was ready. This hotel worked perfectly. Fridge and microwave in the room, decent choices for free breakfast, small fitness center, easy free parking, and room for our large suitcases in the room. Could have used a bit more hanging space, but we had a lot of clothes with us. Walking distance to California Tacos, First Watch for lunch, Fresh Market for a few fridge items, and Bonefish Grill for a great restaurant plus Starbucks also close by.
I was able to check in early (1:30 pm),as my room was ready:) The hotel was clean & quiet. The latter is a good thing, given its location on a busy highway. The staff were all very pleasant & helpful:) Rates are reasonable. I suggest booking early, as it fills up & sells out fast. Being new to the Tampa area, I had only booked the first (2) nights of my stay. I didn't realize that the NFL game was being held in town that Thursday evening. Rooms for W & Th nights were at a premium both here & at other hotels also. While I was glad I was able to stay there (due to a last minute cancellation), I was charged a higher rate for those (2) weeknights ($35-$45 per night), which I didn't realize until post-checkout. Having had an early AM flight, I'm not sure if my AAA discount wasn't applied to those last (2) evenings, but am inquiring at this time. The complimentary breakfast was very good, with something for everyone. My only suggestions are that they add a) cartons of skim milk & b) more fresh fruit options other than just apples (bananas, oranges). The hotel is accessible by walking to many things. However, a local shuttle service would be nice within a 5 mile radius for sightseeing purposes. Pool & weight room were small, but nice to have available)!! Thank you very much for your great service & hospitality:)!!
We were in town for the Stevie Nicks concert. We had a confirmed pre-paid reservation for a king bed and was given a room with two double beds. once we pulled up our reservation that showed our confirmed status a king room was found in a few seconds when previously we were told hotel was booked to capacity and no other rooms were available...This was a turn off to us. The room was sufficient for an overnighter, it did not meet my standards for clean...but it was not filthy. The bed was like concrete and I like a fIrm bed. We checked out at 1 am the following night instead of sleeping, as we just didnt like the place. We will not stay here again. The attitude of the front desk person, who when we said we stayed at other best westerns and didnt have an issue was oh well this is a franchise not corporate owned. Regardless of that, all I really want is a clean room, comfortable bed and civil customer service.
Stayed here for 4 nights and did not experience anything less than perfect. The room was very clean and well maintained. Our room was next to the elevator and laundry room, but we didn't hear any noise from it at all which was great. Got good night's rest every night. Free continental breakfast had waffle makers, toast, bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, and oatmeal. If you wanted anything else there is an IHOP across the street. Heads up, the hotel is on a very busy main road, but close to the Tampa Airport and Busch Gardens. All the staff we interacted with were pleasant. Thanks for a great stay!
I was a late check in and they made my check in as smooth as possible. I was a little worried by coming into town so late and i had no problem with the check in procedure. The express grab and go was something I had never heard of for early departures and the had a little snack for the road...
This was a good hotel with comfortable beds and quite. The only thing we found sub-standard to other similar places was the breakfast. But that's being picky! Would recommend this to friends and family.
We needed a place to crash a night and this hotel was great. The lady at the check in was very friendly, the room was clean and fairly quiet. Breakfast was a basics Best Western continental breakfast.
very nice and clean hotel, quite, good service. if i have to say there is something that needs to be improve is as followed: 1. breakfast is not good enough. i do not have too much choice. 2. air conditionner has too much noise, i have to shut it dwon at night when i start to sleep.
The staff was very friendly. Took the time to offer several great recommendations for dining. Room was very clean and comfortable. When in my room, I was unable to hear outside noise. Common areas (pool, exercise room, dining area) were clean. Breakfast was good, typical hotel breakfast (waffles, yogurt, cereal, fruit).
I had a problem with my booking and it never appeared at the hotel. But the man at the front desk was very anxious...he tried everything. It still looked like I would be without a bed in a few hours. Thank goodness he was able to give me an upgrade because I wouldn't have had any energy after my 5hour drive, searching for another place to stay. The room was way to big for a single person but I was thankful. I had a great stay afterwards. Thank you Best Western. I appreciate it.
This is a basic no frill hotel if you do not consider a microwave, good size fridge, 24/7 fitness room, courteous service and free wifi as frills but necessities as I do. Room was clean but lighting and air conditioning were minimal. The room stayed somewhat dark and warm even when I had all the lights on and the air conditioner going at full speed. It is close to the airport ( about 15 minute drive). A fresh market and ™ max and pancake houseis nearby . I would stay there again if I need a hotel for one night.
Although, the hotel seemed a little older, it was a very clean property, and the front desk employees were very friendly. They went out of there to find my information since I had forgot my Best Western card to make sure they found me, and added my points. Other than us leaving out of our room a little late one day, and the maids skipping our room that day we definitely had a good stay.
Very clean, close to the airport. Great breakfast with a lot of choices. The staff was very helpful. The room was also clean and the bed very comfortable. It also had a microwave and a fridge. The WiFi was free and the speed was acceptable. Just wished that the checkout was at 12:00 pm instead of the 11:00am.
Staff was friendly, breakfast was good, always had fresh water and apples available. i will come back if i get a chance. they are going to full breakfast soon which will make the experience even more desirable
Great staff - Experience . Convent to TPA airport. Near restaurants, gas stations. Also near major roads every way. Desk staff extremely helpful with checkin and where other amenities were in the hotel. Treated upon arrival.
Friendly receptionist. Room was ok decor wise but our bed was quite small! We both rolled into the centre because the mattress was dodgy. The air conditioning blew into our faces during the night. The shower was good. Why do American hotels have the coffee making facilities in the bathroom?? And no tea? The breakfast was good. Again there was no dining facilities onsite for lunch or dinner but maybe that's the American way.
Not very clean, very dated and not clean looking decor. there was what looked like blood on the bathroom wall, and mold by the ceiling in our room. Also, we had reservations for a king bed, and they gave us 2 double beds, but we had evacuated due to the hurricane, so I chose not to complain. We will never stay here again. I have stayed at best westerns for years, and this was the worst one.
We stayed at the Best Western in Tampa, Florida and found it to be a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was very nice and roomy. Nice decor. We enjoyed the fitness room and the kids loved the pool and the T.V and the selection of channels on the TV.
The location was very convenient to food and Pharmacy services, airport close by. Area Traffic was mild and parking was plentiful. Very peaceful location. Good quality for the money. It's location next door to a 24/7 eating facility made meals and late night hungry a snap...IHOP
Love the pillows and the staff was very nice. We would go back here the next time we need to be in Tampa. Love that the room had a fridge and a microwave. Convenient to all we were doing while in the area. Close to 275 for easy on and off travel.
If you are looking for a hotel with a beautiful lobby, great views, beautiful landscaped grounds, large rooms, this is not for you. Instead you are located in a very dense commercial area(Con), buts lots of stores and restaurants nearby(Pro). Also for your value price you will receive a very comfortable, quiet, clean, and well maintained room with all the amenities-work desk, safe, newspaper, fridge, microwave, and breakfast. There is a most welcoming front desk staff, and a friendly and attentive housekeeping and breakfast room staff. A nice feature is their swimming pool is accessible for 24 hours(not found that often). I would readily return for a future stay!
so where do I begin? I'm a frequent BW customer and a platinum member, so naturally I stay at many BW locations all around the country; and, This one is by far the worst BW I've ever stayed in. After making a reservation for a NON-smoking-room for a one night stay about 3 weeks in advance, I arrive at the hotel at 10:30pm, check-in and walk to my room, open the door, just to find out that there are people in the room I was checked into. I'm surprised, they are surprised, and let's not go into the deatils of what I walked into. I walk back to the reception where the front-desk lady calmly says "oh, my bad" without any further apology and treating the situation like it was no big deal at all. Then she tells me that the last room available is a Smoking-room, and there is not much she can do. at this point at around 11pm, I have no other choice. So, to much of my dismay, I'm put in the Smoking-room. I open the door and the smoke-smell is soooo strong and the room sooo reeked of smoke that I pick up the phone from the room and tell the lady that I'll be checking out bc I can't possibly spend the night in such disgusting room. All of a sudden, she tells me that she updated the system and a Non-smoking-room has magically become available. so I walk back to the front desk, get the keys to the 3rd room. The 3rd room was a non-smoking room, yes, but it was disgusting as well, red spots on the tub (blood drops?), stains on the towels, and overall a disgusting bathroom. it is 11:30pm, one hour after I arrived, and after the shenanigan I have encountered for the past hour, I no longer have the time, nor the energy to complain to anyone about the terrible conditions. I sleep the night, wake up at 5AM, and leave at 6Am for my meeting. I then call the hotel and ask for the General manager to explain and complain about my terrible stay. Instead of listing to me, he became so defensive and started telling me that "I need to grow up" and hangs up the phone. The manager, George C., is a obnoxious, arrogant, and an extremely rude individual who doesn't know a thing about customer service. I call back to ask for his name so I can file a report with Best Western Customer relations, and he tells me his name, and then tells me "make sure you get it right". This person is a shame to Best western and a liability to any business that is involved in customer service. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from this poorly managed, disgusting, dirty and unwelcoming place. Pay 70 dollars more and save yourself lots of hassle, headache and dealing with a rude and obnoxious manager.
I was in town working and stayed 3 nights. Great hotel. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Nice breakfast with a big variety. Great location, close to many restaurants and stores.
The service is excellent. I stay there because of the location and safety. The building is older but is well maintained.. I go back because the staff members are professional and will go out of their way to assist clients. Check out is easy and clients do not feel rushed. Daily papers are provided and there is always fresh coffee 24 hours a day. Computers are available. Their breakfasts are exceptional .....always fresh fruit and real walnuts to put on cereal or Greek yogurt. Guests never feel that they have to eat in a hurry but have time to enjoy all that is offered at breakfast. I am always disappointed if Best Western does not have a vacancy when I call reservations for a room.
Best Western Tampa The staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor of the lobby and room were really nice. The fitness center was very clean and adequate. The breakfast facility was very clean and the breakfast items were of a good variety. The price was reasonable. Well situated to the main road and expressway. Enjoyed our stay!
execellent rating in all areas to includede a warm welcome and always asking if they can help in anyway. I must say they are the best in the area of caring .the bed was made up to look inviting and the décor was very nice. the soda machine and ice machine was handy and nice. T he coffee was really great and available 24 hrs.
Nice Hotel, centrally located in downtown Tampa. There is a IHOP restaurant right next door that is open 24 hours-so after any event, concert, sports, just walk next door and eat in or carry out a nice hot meal! Only 4 miles from Amalie Arena, and only about 5 miles to Raymond James Stadium. CVS & Walgreens Pharmacies also within 2 miles. ChicFilet,, Subway just to name a couple others. Oh and they deliver pizza to your room if you like and Jacuzzi rooms available too.
This is my second time at this specific location. It was easy to get to my meeting location from there and back on the highway home. If you have a large truck, trailer or SUV, get there early. Parking spaces are small and the driveway is narrow if the lot is full. It was full when I arrived and I had a hard time backing out. The hotel itself is very clean and it was quiet and peaceful. I don't sleep well when away from home, thus the average rating for sleep quality. You can decide for yourself. I will return to this hotel when I have business in Tampa again.
We paid $94 bucks for a room on the third floor with three beds and a couch. The place is a little outdated but clean, good condition. Not bad for the price and great if you are in a budget. I booked my room through hotwire and would definitely recommend.
We checked in with an extremely friendly and helpful front desk person. She was very helpful with information for the area. The hotel rugs were very worn and the room was damp feeling. It was clean though but very humid. The bathroom was extremely narrow. Breakfast had a very good variety from Belgian waffles to healthier options as well. Overall if you could run a strong dehumidifier throughout the building and replace the rugs, we would stay there again. Thank you to the exceptional staff!
Nice hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Hotel is close to all that I needed from restaurants, convenience stores. Located in South Tampa it's the perfect spot to get to downtown, Westshore, Stadiums.
We had a one night stay here so we could go to treasure island beach. The Hotel is clean and well kept. The staff is excellent. The first room we got was a little small for three people put we saw a bigger room as we walked in the hall way. We asked for that room and were given it at no additional cost. As we sat waiting for the rom to be cleaned the staff woman l didn't get her name gave us a bag of fruit and showed us where beverages were. The Hotel is about 30 minutes from measure island and John's pass where the restaurants are situated. It was a straight ride on 275 to the island.
Very pleasant and helpful staff; clean hotel; great beds. We had an issue at check in and the Desk Clerk went out of her way to help us find a solution that was very accommodating. Issue was due to Expedia
I stayed in rm 107 which was a handicapped room. We had to be moved to room 103 and a non English speaking housekeeper let us in and at the time saw a $500. Kate Spade purse. We left and went to Clearwater Beach for about 4 hrs. Upon returning the purse was not in the room. Let me say I was using it more as a catch all and carrying another purse with my wallet and $$. I went to the front desk and was told to wait and speak to the manager in the morning. I did and he said there is nothing he can do and he stands by his staff and their honesty. I told a couple that was there be careful things were taken from my room and they are doing nothing about it. He said he was calling the police on me and have me removed for trespassing. Mind you my room was paid for already. He did call and so did I. They came, wrote up a report and are going to question the housekeeper. I am also having corporate check the lock to see who and how many times the room was entered and when. If something comes of this and I want to prosecute...guess who has to drive from Nashville, Tenn. to Tampa, Fl. on her own dime????!!!! ME! So I guess you can't bring anything of value unless you go around town wearing or carrying it all at all times. Let me also say again he said I was beligerent and wanted me removed. The couple that I spoke to were willing to say that I just told them without yelling and going crazy. Angry...yes...acting insane...no. I don't even want to give them one star but I had to choose one to be able to continue. I have a call in to corporate who is on a different time zone to report this and see what my options are. I happen to have a picture on my phone with the purse in the background just by chance.
It was a good hotel for the weekend ,is in a very convenient area in the middle of everything 5 minutes from downtown ,for the nights we went to Clearwater beach one day and another to the Adventure Island water park and we were right in the middle very easy to access the expressways and an I hop next door my kids love it
Front desk people very nice and helpful. Breakfast is ok but not great but it is only a continental breakfast. Staff was polite. The few problems I had were taken care of. Showers were very slippery and need either grab bars or mats on floor. Soap is crappy bars were real small.
No comment right now, just unsatisfied with some the services offered and rendered. I didn't like the bugs in the room #114, and the water leakage on the carpet form the air conditioner in room #304. The employees were excellent and hospitable. Their hospitality was great and appreciated.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Room is basic, however somewhat outdated, it provided the necessities and was clean. Breakfast was adequate, however at exactly 9:30 the staff came it and started cleaning up. What disturbed me was the dumping of two carafes of coffee. I did not know why they did not put them in the lobby where coffee is furnished all day. It is a no frills place to lay your head at night.
Picked this hotel since it was close to Bern's Steak House and didn't want a far drive after dinner. Very friendly people at the front desk and clean, comfortable rooms. Skipped the breakfast, just coffee, not much to choose from. But we were there to sleep, not eat and for us it was fine.
close to everything , clean friendly and descent price. Easy to park and get and out of without parking garage it's very convenient. Easy check in and check out is less than 30 seconds. Close to all the great places in South Tampa !
Front desk lady very nice, room had various stains on carpet but the beds were very clean and comfortable and the shower/tub looked spotless brand new. Good location eats nearby and was a quiet night. Good for a night or two.
I have stayed at several BW's and this was in fact the WORST. When we arrived the lobby was HOT, there was an issue with the air. The hallway and room and an "old" odor to it. The room and bathroom was VERY dusty and un-clean. The pillows had an odor to them also. I typically bring my own but we flew and our luggage was full. I could go on but I'll stop with there were ants in the breakfast cereal.
After some initial confusion, Jean sorted it out and was so incredibly helpful! Thank you! We will be coming to Tampa every other week and will definitely be staying at this hotel. It is priced right, close to the airport and a lot of restaurants.
This hotel is good as any but not up to bestwesterns code I have had alot better coming from BW I would like to try it again to see if they do up grade this hotel The breakfest was just ok we have had a lot better then this .
The room was very large for the price. The only thing I wasn't super pleased with was the hot water in the tub/spa never got hot. The sink water got really hot. The bed was really firm and had plenty of semi firm pillows for one person. If you are military or former military you have a discount when you make reservations. I'll be staying with them again in the future.
Best price we could find for a stay near the Tampa airport. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was not fancy but clean and comfortable, though the bed was a bit hard. Several good restaurants within very easy walking distance.
Once again Jean and the Best Western on South Dale Mabrey was a live saver during another hospital stay of a family member. The whole staff, Jean and the manager George are truly incredible and really go all out to help the customers. It is our second long stay there in a year and I can't say enough about the whole package except that overall it is a good value, and the staff are great. Thanks Again for being there when we needed you.
This B/W hotel is what hotels should be. We booked in early and a room was available so we were happy travellers. Unfortunately there was a problem with the curtains and when this was pointed out the manager, Mr George Casanova he called maintenance and immediately offered an alternative room. This was first class customer service. The hotel looked clean and tidy from the outside and inside was of the same standard. Rooms are large with a Jacuzzi style bath and shower. All fittings worked and are of a high standard. This establishment is value for money and we would have no hesitation in both staying here again and recommending Best Western Tampa.
The staff at this hotel are wonderful. The room was clean and a good size. I guess the only complaint i would have would be the size of the bathroom. It was very small. Other than that, the breakfast was good and the girl in the breakfast room was very upbeat and helped you start your day happily.
BWT hotel is by far a great value ! The rooms are neat and spiffy. The pillows are numerous and the bed is firm. I especially enjoyed breakfast, filled with great choices including pan cakes and fresh fruit...Coffee bar 24/7 in the lobby. The pool and exercise room are well equipped with fresh soft towels...Best of all is the is the great bilingual staff who are helpful and professional....The location is close to shopping, restaurants, stadiums to the airport.....I highly recommend BWT and say hello to George the manager
A tired, poorly managed property tarnishes the reputation of a solid old brand. Stay away! Inattention to maintenance and a surly attitude of the manager make this a particularly nasty combination. Could hear other guests complaining about their experience at checkout with similar results. The manger tries to defend indefensible conditions and comes off, not apologetic but rather uninterested in your opinion. It's a sad property!
We needed a hotel close to Tampa General Hospital for Drs. appointment. It was conveniently located, clean, with the facilities we needed for an overnight stay. The free wifi and continental breakfast were good. There were many restaurants nearby.
Front desk was friendly and I had a very fast check in and check out. Room was clean and as expected. Breakfast consisted of 1 type of bagel, English muffins, cereal, pancakes, yogurt, and bananas. Only drawbacks were the tiny bathrooms and parking spaces.
On the good side, the people are friendly, rooms are clean, and the location was good. That said, when I got to my room and took my shoes off, my socks were soaked in a few seconds. Checked the floor and it was sopping wet. Went to front desk, asked for a different room and was told: a) the floors were just shampooed that day and; b)they were booked solid before and after . To my mind, not a good management decision. Took 2 days (with the help of a fan they loaned me) to dry it out so I could walk sock-footed without getting them wet. Breakfast is OK, hot item is a pancake machine. Previous reviewers complained about parking. Yes, the spaces were tight. I had a compact, so it wasn't a problem for me. Don't hink I would stay here again
This is a great hotel....clean and nicely decorated with very friendly staff (thanks Jean). They suggested a nearby restaurant (1 Square), which was excellent as well (even offered a coupon). The breakfast was sufficient, with staff that kept it stocked and the area very clean. I would stay here again and suggest others give it a try.
Easy access from and to the Tampa Airport. Close to restaurants. Tight parking spaces was the only draw back. We arrived late and found the bed to be very comfortable. Variety of breakfast foods was very good.
Nice friendly staff and big nice room, The room had 2 comfy queen size bed with a big tv, free wifi ( Best Western member). The Included breakfast was more than Ok and the oppertunity to wash up clothes after a few days on our vacation, Location is good even for us arriving by bus with 20-25 transit from bus station where Megabus dropped us. The backyard have decent sixe pool that was great for relaxation after long day at Busch gardens overall we would go back
Everything was excellent. I would pick here first to stay next time.Friendly staff, clean rooms and the pool was perfect. Good location that seemed to be close to everything.. One suggestion - More washers and dryers would be nice.
My boyfriend and I needed a few nights to ourselves, so we chose this hotel because it was affordable and there are plenty of food options within walking distance. It isn't glamorous by any means, but the point was to spend a few days being lazy and comfortable, and we were able to here. Pros: Large jacuzzi tub, decent sized refrigerator, huge room with cozy, king sized bed, microwave, temp control, really nice staff Cons: The TV was a bit too small to see comfortably from the bed, really awful smell coming from the bathroom sink, small shower, our feet were pretty dirty from walking around on the carpet, the room smelled kind of musty and turning on the air didn't help, we were hoping to use Netflix on his PS3, but the wifi will not connect to gaming devices (the lady at the front desk said it will cost them more)
This is was a poor choice. It was drab and dowdy. Minuscule parking lot with the narrowest spaces, Obviously more rooms than spots. The room was unbelievably basic for a Best Western.Decor was sad. Stayed there as it was close to the airport, but find somewhere else as the price was the same as other better hotels.
Visited in March 2016. For the price the room with a king bed was fine, clean and big enough for me, staying alone. Traffic around Tampa was often slow and the motel was on a very busy street (Dale Mabry) but the location was very convenient to Kennedy and I-275 so I was happy with that. Two minor points: the last of the 5 days I was there the shower worked poorly and they said that they'd fix it but I was leaving so I don't know how that turned out. Also, the breakfast was a little poorer than other places I've been in that offered a breakfast: the only eggs were hard boiled and they kept the same collection of them the whole week I was there. The fruit was limited, including small packs of Dole mixed fruit in the refrigerator. No waffles, but I didn't starve.
Very close to the Yankees spring training. George is an excellent manager. He helped us find another room for our friend nearby due to sold out hotel. ?Excellent breakfast - no charge. Rooms large; beds comfortable.
Very helpful, friendly, professional and caring staff. Very clean hotel. This hotel is nothing fancy but a good value. Very comfortable beds and very clean rooms. The complimentary breakfast was good. I will stay here again.
I was in town for vacation, country music and strawberry festival. Hotel was convenient to where I needed to be. Mid town Tampa is a little low scale, and under construction, no problem with this particular location. Good value for the time spent.
This hotel is well maintained and centrally located. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and quite. The swimming pool seemed larger than a typical hotel with a large deck with seating. Restaurants and shopping is within an easy walk if you don't want to drive. The parking lot only has one-way in/out and felt safe.
Hotel room very loud especially for a pre departure cruise site destination. Several solitations kicked under door during sleeping times which woke occupants up during sleep time. Staff very unhelpful for transportation from hotel to cruise ship terminal especially when this is a majority of their business.
Hotel was very clean inside and out and the staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel seemed very secure and was centrally located in the heart of Tampa. The room was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any Tampa visitor.
My wife and I stayed here the night of Feb. 13, 2016 after a flight from Canada. We were connecting with a cruise. The front desk was friendly on our check in and with help the nest morning with locating a local grocery store to pick up some items. The free breakfast the next morning was expected and was clean and well stocked. The check out was around noon and we were allowed to leave bags in a small back room while we had lunch next door. We would stay here again if the we were travelling in this area again.
My husband and I needed a hotel for a quick trip to Tampa to see Benise in concert. We wanted something close to the Tampa Theater and near our favorite restaurant, Acropolis. This Best Western was perfectly located and had a really good rate for our overnight stay. The free continental breakfast was definitely a perk!
This hotel was very nice and near the port of Tampa. I would definitely stay here again. We were even upgraded to a suite. Also, enjoyed the convenience of leaving our car while we were on a 5 day cruise.
Less than meets your eye! Believe me, less is not more especially here. Cleanliness of rooms and service of maids and front desk personnel was less than adequate. Be more discerning where you rest your head, you may end up with bed bugs and head lice if not!
If you want to be in the heart of Tampa with a nice spacious room for a great price, this is it. Professional staff, very nice rooms, and once again location, location, location. If you are just here for business, its a perfect fit.
Everything about the hotel was great. Only the breakfast could have been better .Area was good and easy to find .Hotel overall was very comfortable .Would stay there again. Staff was very friendly . Parking could have more big truck areas most were for compact cars.
This Hotel is centrally located close to the downtown area in Tampa. Great hotel to stay at to attend a Tampa Lightning game and a short drive to the beaches. A great cafe up the street with great bagels etc.
The hotel was very nice and staff were pleasant. We were even upgraded to a suite and the jacuzzi tub was wonderful! My only complaint is the parking. We were in town for a play and didn't get back to the hotel until around midnight. By that time, all the parking spots were taken. When we asked the staff at the front where we should park, he directed us to park in the grass along the side street. It worked well enough but there should be enough parking to accommodate all guests.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even gave us directions and helped with map for travelling in Tampa area. We had an excellent room, with Jacuzzi at a great price. Good location, coffee was good, nice neighborhood.
I visited this hotel with a few friends from out of town. The majority of the stay was pleasant; however, we woke up to a bed bug in our bed and the management did nothing to assist. One assistant manager took a pictures for her records, but when the general manager, George C. spoke with me over the phone, he denied that it was a bed bug even though his staff had taken pictures. They could have resolved the issue but do to the lack of customer service and professionalism, I have been working with corporate to resolve the issue. I love Best Western, but this management team is a disgrace to the name.
We used this decently priced hotel for a one night stay before boarding a cruise. It is handily situated about midway between the airport and the cruise terminal. It is not a high-end luxury hotel - nor does it pretend to be. We found everything to be up to our expectations. The room was comfortable, TV and wifi service was excellent, the breakfast was modest but acceptable (especially as we didn't have to pay extra for it) and the staff were consistently welcoming, courteous and helpful. We really appreciated the 24-hour availability of complimentary coffee and iced water. For dinner or a more substantial meal, I recommend IHOP next door.
I stayed for 2 nights and I did not experience any issues. All of the employees were very friendly and professional. It is well located near many restaurants (casual and fast food). I will stay here again.
I checked in this hotel and paid ALL of the necessary fees associated with the room. The next morning I received a call which altered my plans of staying 4 nights to staying just that one night. When I got ready to check out that morning, the clerk behind the desk refused to give me back my money for the rest of the stay. There was no sign up in the hotel that read this disclaimer nor was there any clause in my contract that stated this. She called the owner and he refused to come. To make a long story short, I had to come back the following day to receive my refund. When I got there, the owner was there. He was very rude and I recorded him with my cell phone calling me a "wench!"
Reasonable priced, very clean hotel. Within walking distance of several restaurants. We were two people;booked a two bedroom suite (same price as a one bedroom, so why not?). Comfortable beds, modern furnishings. We are usually Marriott or Hilton property people but they were booked; BW was available and we have no regrets. Breakfast offerings were a bit less than most places we've stayed, but still plenty of choices (make your own pancakes). Excellent, friendly desk clerk when checking in: we asked about local restaurants and were given a free appetizer coupon to Square 1(a short walk) - great choice. Would stay again if in the area. Also, if this helps: $15 cab ride from the airport; $25 cab to the port (heavy traffic but I think we paid more than we should have).
We booked a smoking room by mistake (our mistake NOT the hotel's) and that was not great. The hotel was sold out so we couldn't switch rooms. The front desk gave us Lysol Spray which helped some but it was still stinky. The bathroom floor was dirty and the mirror was dirty. This is an older hotel and a bit 'worn' - even the buttons on the elevator were worn. The HVAC system smelled of smoke so we turned it off. The breakfast was minimal. The only hot food was pancakes and there was a line of people to get them.
we stayed here for a few nights whilst travelling through the states was one of the best hotels for VFM and location etc staff were friendly rooms were spacious and clean would re-visit for sure, nice beach bar just across the way
ask for room 114 if you want a LARGE room with king bed AND a jacuzzi tub! the hotel just went through a recent remodel with new mattresses, pillows, linens and such, quiet quiet rooms all within a secure facility in the heart of Tampa
We really liked this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Free Parking, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a small gym was included. There is also an IHOP next door if you want something else. The Staff was friendly and helpful. The only downset was that we had to change our rooms one day before our final departure. Downtown Tampa and Ybor City are just a 10-15 Minutes drive. We would definitely come here again.
This is a nice, clean and comfortable BW. I have only good things to say. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed for a conference held at the Tampa Convention Center. This hotel was just a few minutes drive, but out of the crazy downtown traffic! We plan on staying next year too.
The hotel was located 5 miles from downtown Tampa and very convenient by cab/Uber. Jean was the lady at check in and was helpful with a restaurant near by and had a cab ready for me when it was time to go to dinner. The overall experience was a positive one.
The Best Western is located in a quiet area on main road and is ideal for someone who wants to spend some nights before continuing his journey. Has swimming pool, free WI-FI internet and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was medium and poor, the staff was friendly and very polite.
The hotel was clean but needs some updating. Carpets, walls, bed covers, towels, bathrooms have seen better days for sure. Breakfast area was large and clean and included with the room. The bed was ok for a short stay. The noise level was loud, anyone talking in the hallway we could hear the conversation clearly that they were close to our door or down the hall didn't seem to make a difference. Overall for a one night stay I was ok with it. Staff was very nice. Wifi was good when connected but dropped connection 2 -3 times during the 1 hour I used it.
While this hotel was clean with decent amenities for the price, it does not offer shuttle service to and from the airport. They put out a nice free breakfast. I can recommend it but be prepared to spend $$ on cab fare or rent a car. Also the neighborhood's not so great.
Compared to other hotels in the area this Best Western had the some of the best reviews. Although our first room had some issues, we knew going in that this was only for one night. The hotel staff was extremely accomodating.
We stayed at this hotel in July, 15. Rooms are clean and spacious. Nice location and close to restaurants. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. Its close to a lot of attractions. Overall a nice place to stay in Tampa!
Good people, good prices but the breakfast could be beefed up a bit. Nice location. A great place to stay, quiet, clean and a very nice pool. Parking is easy and safe. There are restaurants near if one is required.
My Wife & I stayed here recently before our cruise & were very happy with our stay. We were unexpectedly given a room with a hot-tub that we definitely enjoyed! The check-in & check-out went smoothly & quickly. The employees greeted us during our stay with smiles & were very professional. That is one of the reasons why we try to stay at a Best Western when we travel. I would stay at this location again if I returned to Tampa!
This was our first time in Tampa and were not sure where we should stay. Called the hotel a couple times with questions. The staff was super helpful each and every time. The hotel is within walking distance of a Publix, The Fresh Market and Trader Joe's. Our room was clean and had a safe which we appreciate. You can take the #19 bus downtown and take the River and Bayshore Walk. TIP: If you do this, take the #19 Port Tampa back to the hotel. Once again the front desk staff helped steer us in the correct direction to catch the bus and return. There was a nice outdoor pool. Coffee, tea, lemon water available 24/7. Coin operated laundry was available. There is a small gym. Breakfast was just great. The only suggestion would be to offer a listing of TV stations. We plan to return on our next visit through Tampa.
This hotel is located right next to i-hop. Keep in mind this hotel does offer free breakfast. Its close to alot of attractions. Busy road but good service. This hotels is better and above average i will say. Hope you enjoy your stay there. deff will re-book another stay.
excellent hotel, service extremly helpful, and site was clean. breakfast very good, all staff went out of there way to assist you only problem was my handicap and the beds being to high to get into without assistance, being without a car resterants are close and staff was helpful in giving directions
We checked in at this hotel prior to a cruise. The man at the front desk was very helpful and got us into our room quickly. The parking lot is VERY small and tight quarters. The room was mostly clean, with exception of the toilet in the bathroom. There was dried urine on the toilet seat. It was after 1am when we checked in and we were too exhausted to ask to change rooms at that point. We cleaned the seat with Clorox wipes we had with us and dealt with it. Other than this issue, we had no other problems and would most likely stay here again.
Upon arrival we noticed a terrible odor in the hotel but since it was previously booked a refund was not an option. Our room had so much deodorant in it we had to keep our door open to air it out since the windows don't open.
I have stayed at this location twice. Both times have exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and the rooms super clean I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for an awesome hotel at a great price in Tampa.
Close to everything, on a bus route to shopping, a block away from the bus to downtown, close to restaurants, airport, Raymond James Stadium, friendly staff, nice to have breakfast included, pool was always clean, no problem staying here again.
I should have known when I booked the hotel and when asking about my discount and the manager said "This isn't let's make a deal". But I shook it off and booked anyway due to the economical price. The overall smell and appearance wasn't too bad, but our room was AWFUL? The musty smell was overwhelming and actually gave me a headache. Even my boyfriend who does not have allergies was bothered. We asked to switch and were told they were full. I asked for ANY size room, even the handicap and she told me they were totally sold out. However, later on I heard a couple at the front desk ask for a certain type of room and the front desk woman said "we're out of (x) type of room- we only have (y) left. They claim they have hot breakfast and there was NOTHING hot about it! Bagels, room temperature yogurt, prepackaged sweet rolls, cereal. No eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, nothing. Needless to say, we cancelled the rest of our reservation and got a less expensive hotel with hot breakfast that is absolutely spotless. All it would have taken to make us at least content is switch rooms or a discount off of the room we already had. F for customer service!
The room was very large, with a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The only problem was we had room 114 at the end of the hallway, and there was a constant 24 hour humming from the pool area right next to us (the pump?). This was a lullaby for my husband, but kept me awake the first night. The second night I slept like a baby. Overall, I would stay here again. Great location!
This was a great escape for me after a grueling and depressing week. I left feeling refreshed and renewed and ready to take on all obstacles. The location of the IHOP next door was a great incentive. I quickly learned my way around that area of Tampa and found a Walmart and Target but, I decided I just wanted to enjoy being in the room.
Great hotel. Quiet, clean and reasonably priced. The beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. The hotel is close to the airport and to major interstates.
Nice short term stay hotel close to airport and Tampa sights with a very friendly staff, only drawback is they do not serve breakfast which is beneficial to early risers. Would recommend to friends with a suggestion to be alert for the fameous toll highways.
Hotel was clean and staff is pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Convenient to the places that I needed to be. The Stadium. There are also shopping centers close by. Constructions is being done on roads to make it better also.
Excellent location with downtown activities nearby. Old hotel, but clean with a nice enclosed outdoor atrium. Minimal parking in the immediate outside area. Friendly staff, indoor rooms, but can be a bit loud at night.
