"Another great stay"
magenrae, 24 Mars 2024

Another great stay at the Best Western. We have been coming to Tamarindo a few times a year since March 2021 and always stay at the Best Western. Beautifully kept grounds, great pool, and most of all the staff make you feel like family. We will never stay anywhere else. Shout out to MariCruz, Andres, Melissa, Elieth, Pichi, Marvin, Osmar, Max, Camilla, and the rest of the BW crew. Tips- -There is a loud and wild party on Friday nights. If you don't want to participate bring a sound machine. They will give you ear plugs at check in. -The pool chairs are wooden - I bring a yoga mat to lay on top of mine when I lay out.

"Great service"
Vi B, 21 Mars 2024

This was an incredible stay, even if it was for one night, everyone was incredible, from the receptionist to the bartender (Melissa, kuddos! You're a great one) and the housekeeper. Clean installations, great pools, wonderful rooms, just what is needed, together with a great service. Thank you!

"Tamarindo Vista Villas"
Johnathan R, 10 Mars 2024

I want to start this with the mention of our wonderful bartender down at the bar Andres. Andres is loaded with local knowledge and a master of hospitality. He really knows how to make you feel at home on vacation, very attentive and always makes sure you have what you need. We were sure to pick his brain about things our group needed to do and what to avoid. The property was great as well, with a perfect location a short walk to the beach. They didn't offer lunch/dinner which we thought was strange. Nonetheless the property is very close to multiple fantastic restaurants as well as a minor stroll to dozens of other choices. In the end did not mind that they didn't offer other meals, just take your pick of the neighboring restaurants can't go wrong with any of them. I was very happy to find they also offered a surf school on hand, Salty sol, Eric and his staff are exceptional at what they do very professional and fun, even got my wife to stand up on her first wave of many during this trip. They even offer free rentals to guests of the hotel, which we were sure to take advantage of each day we could. Giovanni was sure to set us up with the right boards for conditions and levels as well. Highly recommend these guys if you wanna give surfing a go.

"Very disappointed"
Jamie B, 10 Mars 2024

We stayed in the best western for 4 days. We are very disappointed. Every friday there is a party in the hotel. The party is for everyone and not just for hotel guests. It is from 7pm to 2.30am which is very long. During that time it‘s very loud and many people walk around. After the party the whole staff has to tidy up. This was also very loud. People were screaming, things were thrown around ect. We could not sleep until 4.30am. This is just not ok. The party itself is ok but the loud people after the party are just rude. Every two days there is an external dive lesson in the pool. That means there are three people with the whole equipment who take in a lot of space in the pool. And as a hotel guest there is no benefit at all. The reception is far away from the actual hotel at the parking lot. So at night there were several guests who came home late and made a lot of noise. No one complained. Overall we were not happy with our stay. It is too loud every night and the hotel is all about provit and not looking for the hotel guests. Therefore it is too expensive.

"Make you feel like family"
Scenic48242127570, 26 Février 2024

We have stayed at the Vista Villas for several decades and all of the employees are like family. They even surprised me with a Birthday party ...cake and ice cream, not telling how many candles. Can't say enough good things about the management, employees and the other guests.

"A nice and friendly hotel in Tamarindo "
948BrianC, 25 Février 2024

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Tamarindo! It is not a luxury property but it is a great deal for the price. Super close to the beach and 200 meters from three of the best restaurants in Tamarindo. Has a very nice pool and many units have nice views of the ocean. Staff is super friendly especially Maricruz the day receptionist. Downsides are that most units are up a small hill so you do have climb. There is also a big party every Friday night with loud music and a laser light show. We wore ear plugs that night and did not have a problem sleeping. We are looking forward to coming back!

"Our month in Tamarindo"
dave s, 23 Février 2024

We spend a little over a month at the Best Western beginning in mid January for about the last 8 years. We have many reasons to keep returning to the hotel. The staff is so accommodating that they make our return each year seem like a family reunion. The management (owners) really appreciate and take special care of their employees and it really shows as everyone works hard and seem enjoy working. The hotel is located at the start of Tamarindo and just across the street from the ocean/bay/beach. The hotel supplies beach towels, surfboards, boggy boards, snorkeling and a few other beach items. We walk or Uber around and expect to walk a lot! The hotel does have a lot of steps as it is on a hill side overlooking the bay but in return you get great views. The hotel offers a free breakfast and you can sit and enjoy a great view. Breakfast is the only time the kitchen is open. There are a lot of places to eat very close to the hotel and the staff will be happy to help. The pool is very nice and the pool waterfall is kinda cool with a little purge pool at the top of the falls. There is a nice outdoor bar and swim up bar also and a large patio to relax on overlooking the bay. There is a Friday night party that draws a large number of people to dance to salsa music and techno music with laser lights. The party ends at 2:30 so take a nap and go check out what all the noise it'll about. You get in free and drinks are included. This hotel I think gives you the overall best value inTamarindo.

"Felt like a dated exhausted 2 star Benidorm hotel."
P8453WGpaulc, 12 Février 2024

Felt like a dated exhausted 2 star Benidorm hotel. Five old wooden sunloungers without cushions and one broken. breakfast minimal an dno flexibility. 5 choices of small portions. Scruffy. This is budget, so if you want cheap, it might do. If you want luxury, think again.

"Great stay at a fair price"
Scott F, 06 Février 2024

This location is outside of the busy downtown, which if you're looking for something a bit quieter, it works well. The pool, poolside bar, and ample seating around the pool are a great way to relax after a day of surfing. They also have one of the best bartenders, Andreas, slinging drinks and ensuring lots of laughs. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning is also quite good. Be aware, the hotel bar turns into a club on Fridays. It's a lot of fun if you're looking for that, but it is noisy in all rooms until 2:30am. Sundays also have a pool party which can be very noisy as well. Very happy with our accommodations for our vacation!

"Beautifully kept grounds close to everything"
melissavY6898RS, 02 Février 2024

Friendly, clean, hotel. Staff and other guests were an absolute delight. Pool was refreshing, view was gorgeous, walking distance to beach, restaurants and all other popular destinations. Beds were a bit hard, and pillows clumpy.

"Best Hotel in Tamarindo"
grumpybearcat, 02 Février 2024

This is our second year staying at this hotel. It is a beautifully maintained, tranquil oasis for any type of traveller. Enjoy one of their delicious breakfasts in the morning, a walk down the beach or a surfing lesson with Eric, Govani, or John at Salty Sols Surf School early afternoon, and finish your day with a relaxing drink at the pool/bar area located on top of the hotel. Just be aware that there are several stairs to climb to get to the pool/bar area. The Best Western staff is exceptional! Take the time to get to know them. If you're lucky Andres at the bar may teach you some "colorful" Costa Rican expressions or Marvin the gardener might show you a card trick. Maricruz at reception will take very good care of you. She is a wealth of information and will assist you in a very friendly and efficient manner. These people really have become our Best Western family. Can't wait to see them all next year!

"Great place to relax and recoup after excursions!"
Erin M, 28 Janvier 2024

We enjoyed our stay! The rooms were clean and cooled and the view was pretty. The grounds are lush and inviting, the continental breakfast is tasty and filling, the pool/bar/breakfast area staff are all fun to get to know and excited to share their recommends. There were many pleasant long-time/term repeat Best Western patrons that we chatted with around the pool. Bonus is an iguana couple in the same vicinity every day that were fun to watch. We enjoyed ordering dinner to the pool from a local restaurant (there are many to choose from), and visited many restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel. Beach access was also only two blocks away. We will absolutely stay there again if we return to Tamarindo!

"very very poor, the low point of our vacation "
starmandave1959, 12 Décembre 2023

it's sad that reading reviews from three years ago show the owners have little interest in improving, as things remain the same. [ ] a hotel without a reception desk! for pities sake it's 2024 nearly. a hut by the entrance that looks like a security desk is poor. the hotel advertises amenities they don't have... a restaurant, nope a breakfast room a laundry service, nope, I was advised to take laundry to a different hotel!! and no 'golf cart' to assist with luggage up a steep hill to rooms...plus no lift to upper floors. For breakfast, we were served what appeared to be a microwaved pre-cooked omelette, ok, but not the accompanying rice, which we wouldn't risk. this could be a nice place if it was given some modernisation, and placed the reception in the upper car park, made it bigger, a proper reception (and tell them not to eat on duty). I stay in hotels most weeks for work...I will never stay here again nor recommend it. the only reason I gave it more than one star is the beds were comfortable and clean.

"Great Experience at the Tamarindo Best Western"
Peter S, 08 Août 2023

The staff was courteous and professional. Great complimentary breakfast. The grounds were kept up very well. There is a nice pool, bar and gym. It was a short walk to the beach. The rooms were clean, internet worked as good as it does at home and the value for the stay was ideal. Big party on Friday night. The hotel gave out complimentary ear plugs and we slept right through it.

"Great staff and experience"
FamilyWandersAlot, 07 Juillet 2023

Great experience. Staff was very friendly, particularly Andres and Melisa. Location was right on the edge of Town, can walk to the beach and all of the activity. Views were amazing from the pool. Nice having access to boogie boards, surf boards ,chairs and other beach stuff through Salty Sols Surf Shop..

"7 nights at Tamarindo Vista Villa"
matthewripley, 07 Mai 2023

A truly memorable stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel just a short walk from everything offered in Tamarindo. Recommendations given for food and places to visit. Maricruz was the best. From the time I booked, til the time I left.

"BEST Kept Secret in the Heart of Tamarindo Beach"
Curiosity225801, 24 Avril 2023

Located in the heart of Tamarindo and across the street from the beach, BWTVV is a budget friendly gem. You are within walking distance to: Tamarindo Beach, Longosta Beach, countless restaurants & shops and a large AutoMercado supermarket. Definitely book a topicical suite, that includes a kitchenette, decent size fridge/freezer,microwave, toaster hotplates, cookware, utensils, dinneware and a private furnished patio. The onsite gym and free breakfast are a bonus. The view from the pool is breathtaking. Do not pass on this absolute hidden gem. Maricruz and Osmar are amazing resources and will happily assist you with anything you may need. You do not need to rent a car. I recommend bringing a flashlight for walking at night.

"Not terrible, but not great"
VG119, 26 Mars 2023

This is an older hotel with updates. Pros: clean room, quiet, good location, nice view from pool, pool was nice, breakfast was included and great, they brought it to our room on the day we needed to leave before the dining room opened. Cons: rooms can be difficult to get to, small room, our room had no view at all, though the bedding was clean it was stained, mattresses and pillows weren't very comfortable.

"First time in Tamarindo - good location with easy access to all the action"
Happiness283722, 02 Mars 2023

Good location. They service breakfast only and had to pick a specific time. Pool area is nice overall. Price point for us was higher than the value overall but not a bad stay. Service overall wasn't too bad. Rooms had a fridge ad microwave which was handy. Good size bathroom.

"Not your typical Best Western"
408barryz, 10 Février 2023

On the hillside entering town, this gem is convenient walk to most of Tamarindo. We didn't need a car to get most places BUT there are lots of stairs and uneven ground, so not good for elderly or disabled.Room was perfect for extended stay.

"Enjoyed My Stay At This Hotel"
Tri C, 24 Janvier 2023

The front office receptionist named Maricruz was exceptional as she went above and beyond to assist me not only with my room rate and the number of days that I intended to stay, but she also helped me with my shuttle booking because I had a problem trying to find a bus to take me to San Jose Airport. All of this was done upon my check-in on the very first day. Maricrux didn't have to adjust my number of rental days but she was so generous and modified my booking to satisfy my need. She knew which shuttle services were reliable and operating in Tamarindo for shuttle rides. Maricrux was so helpful and knowledgeable as she made my stay very enjoyable and stress-free and she also provided advice and information of where to go and what to do while in Tamarindo. If and when I return to Costa Rica, namely to Tamarindo, I'm definitely booking a stay at Best Western Hotel (because of her). The staff actually do care about us and our enjoyment in this beach community. Even the pool lounge staff were accommodating and helpful. Just small details in how they assisted my friends and I showed that the staff wanted is to enjoy our stay. The staff definitely receives a 5-Star rating from me.

"The best view and location"
Patrice B, 23 Janvier 2023

I was pleasantly surprise with this BW hotel. I didn't expect much as the reviews rating was very low. I thought it was very good. The view was amazing from the pool. The decor in the room was outstanding. The staff was pleasant. The only problem was the stairs. I wish there were elevators. The Location is perfect

"Ocean Views Room"
davidfunk5tp, 28 Décembre 2022

The staff was very attentive and responsive to guests. They organized breakfasts, tours, and helped with surroundings as far as where everything was located in Tamarindo. The hotel is within walking distance to most things in Tamarindo. I had an Ocean Views room with a balcony that had an amazing view of the beach and main road. The breakfast/bar area was right by the pool and they had a fitness center upstairs before you get to the bar area. A few things to keep in mind: 1. My room didn't have a refrigerator in it. The bar area has ice and staff will fill your ice bucket there if you need it. I was able to do this twice in a day while there. 2. The rooms are a good walking distance from the reception. The reception office is at the entrance. Because it is uphill on the pathway to get to your room, you'll need help with bags. The staff will help you as they did for me checking in and out of my room. 3. Ladies night is every Friday night at the bar. It gets loud there those nights. The staff was considerate in warning me of this before checking in. This takes nothing away from my experience at the hotel. For me personally, the good outweighed the bad on that. It was exactly what I needed it to be for it's convenient location, views from the room, and helpful staff while I was there. I'd stay here again.

"Long Term Stay"
Sam R, 19 Décembre 2022

This is a very affordable and nice place to stay if you are visiting Tamarindo. It has a pool, complimentary breakfast daily, a gym and it's right across the street from the beach. It is walking distance to the center of town and there are 5 - 6 restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel. The entire staff employed here are outstanding.

"Super clean, secure and excellent staff!!"
Judith C, 27 Novembre 2022

Had a great stay, zero problems. Room was spacious, with lovely balcony watched a few big Iguanas in the trees eating and sunbathing, could even see the ocean. Staff was excellent, the hotel actually felt like a home away from home, in some ways. We stayed there for 5 days at end of a 26 day trip in Costa Rica. Met great people in the common area (pool, restaurant bar area. At the hotel you have free access to boggy boards, umbrellas, chairs etc. I'd stay there again in a minute

"Best service!!"
U1230YNannc, 26 Novembre 2022

My husband and I visited and did not want to leave. We want to thank all of the staff for going above and beyond but ESPECIALLY ANDRES! not only was he a great bar tender but he also was great to talk to and gave many recommendations and tips!! But mostly - BEST BARTENDER! :)

"Poor choice of a hotel!"
Roving7566, 23 Novembre 2022

Stayed at this hotel once before in late 2004 and it was fine. This year we returned and found a hotel remodeled and not the same at all. The rooms have no microwave or fridge, the hot water heater didn't work for 2 days, the restaurant is closed except for breakfast (which were terrible) and the amenities were not available. The upper parking lot is being redone and so if you have mobility issues you will find the stairs cumbersome. The only saving benefit of this place is the maid service and wait staff. They were charming and helpful. Not enough to offset the other issues. They still do their Friday and Saturday parties at the bar/pool and on Friday it goes until 2 or 3Am, Saturday until 10Pm. The sound of bass thumping is not the music to sleep by!

"Not too bad"
Shantel M, 22 Août 2022

First thing I want to mention is the employees there were amazing! They were all so nice and professional. I give their customer service 5 stars. Their breakfast was delicious and the room I stayed in was cute. Now the reason why I give it a 3 star is because the first few hour I got there I decided I wanted to shower since its really humid and I was sweating all day I needed to rinse off. We'll the warm water was completely off. I don't know if there is a certain time of the day the hot water is shut off or lot I decided not to ask and didn't shower. Also something I notice after a few hours I smelt something that was faint but wasn't strong. While I was getting ready to go to the beach the smell got worse and I notice it started to smell like poop. I understand that the sewer system is not the greatest and I understand and respect that. I go to Mexico every year and their see system is the same. I'm used to this and I've been to Costa Rica 3 times already. Well this smell was not coming from the bathroom. I tried to ignore it since I didn't know where it was coming from. While I was getting ready to do my hair I grabbed my hair brush from my wife's backpack that was sitting on the chair and when I bent over the smell was so strong. It was coming from the couch and I immediately felt uncomfortable. The smell got worse through out the night and was so unbearable I was up at 6:30 am and needed to leave the room. I know I could of mentioned all of this to the staff but I was already exhausted I had been in Costa Rica a week already and it was just one night. I still had a full week ahead of me in Tamarindo. It wasn't too bad just would go their again.

"Great!"
samanthamj2022, 16 Juillet 2022

The staff and people here were super nice and friendly! The breakfast food was really good along with the breakfast staff including, Melissa, Maricruz, and Max. Nice and clean resort, cleaning staff did a great job everyday too. Beautiful pool.

"Awesome stay!"
sonjasA7783LI, 14 Juillet 2022

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff is so nice and helpful with everything I need. Andres at the bar is so helpful and fun. He makes it so worth it to be staying here in addition to the other great staff. He helped with my Spanish as I'm learning and has been a joy to be around. Everyone here has such a good attitude and no matter what are so helpful. I would love to stay at this hotel again on another trip! Thanks Andres and Adolfo, who helped me find a doctor, and the other awesome staff!

"Excellent"
andreap262626, 14 Juillet 2022

My cousins and I were here for 9 days and it was definitely the best vacation we had all thanks to Andres and Keyle who work at the bar, they made it such a fun time and are incredible people to talk to and spend time with while at the pool. I would recommend the hotel to anyone planning to visit. They also have partys every Friday with amazing music, it was a great time. Thank you to both of them for making our vacation 10x better.

"Terrible."
jadoutheo, 04 Juillet 2022

Staff was incompetent. Not friendly at all…They were insects in the bed and all over the room. You need to take a reservation and chose your breakfast the day before. They did not give us beach towels. They even lost our tennis shoes. BUT, the party was nice and walkable to the beach

"Perfect headquarters for family beach vacation"
Coleenchaz, 10 Juin 2022

We searched many locations and have stayed in other parts of Tamarindo, but this BW was the best property for our family. It has an amazing waterfall pool bar and a great scenic lookout. It is safe and quiet for resting. The breakfast is great and the staff are service oriented. The Salty Sols surf school was better than I expected for being included in our accommodation price. The water equipment is included for ocean activities. The selection is hands down the best in the area and Eric is a friendly, helpful instructor. This really is a one stop location. We only left for excursions and nightly food.

"Would not recommend"
oliviaunyc, 22 Mai 2022

This hotel was so disappointing that it became a running inside joke between my friends. For context, my friends and I are young and have very low standards for hotels, but this one did not meet them. Let me make a list of the laughable, negative aspects of this hotel. - We were promised beach chairs and umbrellas as per other reviews and their website and upon arrival were told that the management ordered beach chairs that were currently "lost in shipping". This is so unacceptable as we then had to pay $40 a day for external beach chairs. - The whole hotel was severely lacking in beach/pool towel quantity. The front desk would never have clean towels. When we asked, they made us hike up a large hill to the pool to get towels there, only for the pool to tell us only the front desk had them - The breakfast was absolutely inedible. The worst eggs I have ever had. Also, we had to make "reservations" for breakfast a day in advance because there was limited seating. On one of the days, we got breakfast delivered in our room and asked that it come at 8 am. At 8:30, the breakfast still didn't come. We called the front desk and they said they knocked on the door and no one answered. Very confusing because we had been by the door the whole time waiting. - The room looked nice overall but the door to the patio wouldn't close fully, leading to a steady stream of ANTS for our entire stay. - The wifi worked in the common areas but not in our room, which was annoying when I had to take a virtual covid test to travel. - The location is walking distance to town, but the block between town and the hotel is unlit and does not have sidewalks. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the price was very affordable for Tamarindo. Usually, I would say that you get what you pay for. However, this hotel gave us even less.

"Incredible Help!"
David C, 21 Mai 2022

So, I stayed here during a personal family matter. Not a vacation. I was not in a pleasant mood upon arrival. I caught COVID-19 on the way here in an airport in the U.S. The staff went above and beyond to help me through an unforseen quarantine process. I was blown away by how much help they provided. They checked up and offered so many additional services daily!

"Horribilis night"
DayTrip761701, 25 Avril 2022

Fridays night is the party in hotel bar (Monkeys)-open for all public and music until 2.30 am(impossible sleep)…add in Saturday they have wending ….we cant sleep again. The breackfast is limited and poor. “Old fashion” Hotel

"Excellent hotel in Tamarindo!"
Rebecca M, 22 Avril 2022

This hotel has clean, spacious rooms with hot water and balconies. The outdoor pool is gorgeous with an excellent view of the beach. Breakfast is delicious. Very well located close to the beach and amenities.

"good to stay for one night only."
MichelleWyatt2010, 10 Avril 2022

We stayed here for one night. I personally did not care for tamarindo. It's a very smelly town. More for very young who want to party and surf. We stayed at the best western. It's ok for one night but i woudlnt' stay here again. I fo und the room outdated. We did have a kitchenette with everything in it to actually live there which had a bedroom, bathroom and living room area, kitchen and patio. For a budget this is ok but if you want a really nice vacation then i wouldn't stay here again. We did see the howler monkeys here though up close as they visit the resort daily near the reception area. This was nice as i didn't see them up close while travelling around costa rica. The beach is located near by across the street. The pool was very nice.

"Enjoyable Stay"
gloriainmexico, 14 Mars 2022

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Best Western Tamarindo Visita Villas. Check-in was easy. We'd confirmed an ocean view room with one queen bed, were offered an upgrade to a king suite with kitchenette but no view. Opted to stay in the ocean view room. So glad we did! Bed was a bit hard with king sheets on a queen bed, a bit messy. The view, the staff from reception to breakfast wait staff to cleaning lady were very polite & friendly. Delicious breakfast! Beautiful pool area also with a fabulous view. Also, parking is available up the hill a bit so you don't have to drag your suitcases very far. The gates are locked at night so all is secure.

"Great views/Amazing staff"
Catchme101, 12 Mars 2022

For the price it can't get better than this. The staff from front desk to housekeepers, groundskeeper and restaurant and bar staff is fabulous. Melissa and Andres in bar thank you, and thank you to all of you. The front desk gave us an amazing room and remembered us and assisted us with all our needs. The view was beyond breath taking. The food and drinks and amenities were great. There is nothing that was wrong with anything.

"Perfect family surfing location"
Jaketok, 01 Mars 2022

My family of 5 stayed in the Surf Shack (room 199) for 10 nights and would NOT recommend this chalet. But everything else in this hotel is very nice. This chalet is needing an update-old curtains falling down, bed frames cracked, dirty old couch, hot plate rusted. My sister stayed in the ocean view room and it was very clean, bright and updated-lovely! The hotel is in a perfect location for those wanting to surf. We had lessons from the surf school provided onsite. Eric was awesome-he provided us with a surf board for the remaining of our stay. Beautiful sunset views from the pool deck, all the staff tried their best to assist with any requests. Kenny Sanchez is one particular team member that was exceptional. Thank you again Kenny!

"Nice hotel with a couple of minor faults"
Roddy M, 26 Février 2022

This is a nice hotel with a good view to the sea. The reasons I am giving it three stars are that there was no fridge in the room, which is important when the temperature outside is in the mid-thirties Centegrade, and although the bed was nice and large, the sheets did not fit very well.

"The Jewel of Tamarindo!"
Kenj0nes, 24 Février 2022

We have been to this place 3-4 separate times and absolutely love the view from the pool deck, not to mention most of the rooms. It overlooks the Ocean as well as the entrance to the Estuary. The pool is always spotless and the swim up bar is excellent. Staff are wonderful, especially Maricruz! We are right across from the Ocean and that gorgeous Tamarindo beach! You can walk out of your room and within 5-10 minutes you can access many bars and restaurants and wonderful shops. Love this place.

"This place is awesome depending on your needs"
226manriquem, 31 Janvier 2022

I am rating the BW Tamarindo a solid 4 and that is a good thing. This is a great place to stay proving your expectation is not a luxury hotel but rather a clean, friendly and convenient "middle of the food chain" hotel. First the negatives - Weak wifi: I dont recommend it if you need to work remote, that was my case and was lucky I had strong cell signal so I used my hotspot -Noisy bed (but it was comfortable). I can see this could be a problem for some couples lol -Balcony was great but not very private: just think you are at a restaurant with your neighbors. This could be fixed easily with some natrural divider like plants between rooms. -Monkey Bar was closed for events so I had quiet nights but beware even the hotel warns that there could be noise up to 2 am, we will see after Covid how it goes Now the positives which there are a lot - Clean , kind of up to date rooms, even if the outside of the hotel looks aged -Quiet AC! -Simple but nice breakfast delivered on time to your room -Great partial ocean view from balcony rooms, more awesome from pool area -Cant get more convenient than just walking 2 min to the beach, access across the road, nice stroll into town to all the shops and restaurants -Safe feeling of the area -AWESOME friendly staff, no attitude here! I recommend 100% provided you take into account the negatives like the wi fi situation.

"A Fantastic Costa Rican Type Place to Stay"
Crystal W, 01 Janvier 2022

What a perfect place to stay right near the beach and with the amenities of being able to cook in your room as well. The pool is beautiful and is a rooftop pool with a little waterfall and pool bar to purchase drinks. The gym was great and had everything you needed to get a workout in for those who are into that while travelling. The price was right for the stay which included a great breakfast daily. My family stayed here while I attended Spanish school in Tamarindo. The people who work there are fantastic. I especially admired the hard work and dedication to keeping my family happy from Melissa, Sabrina, & Evelyn. Melissa and Sabrina assisted everyday with serving food and it was great to practice my Spanish and allow them to practice their English with the daily conversations we had. Evelyn was quick to assist with a couple of kitchen supplies I required to make a Costa Rican specialty in my villa. All three employees should be commended for their happiness, assistance, and hard work to make the holiday for myself, my partner and my six year old daughter memorable. Muchisimas gracias, chicas! And thank you to Best Western Tamarindo!

"What a great staff!"
Sam R, 11 Décembre 2021

I stayed 6 weeks in one of the Best Western Villas and I was extremely sad to leave. The reason being is that Trevor's staff made me feel like part of their family. Every morning when I had breakfast Sabrina, Andres, Evelyn and one other senorita (can't remember her name) were so friendly and accommodating. Sabrina always took the time each morning to help me learn Spanish, and Evelyn and Andres shared stories about their lives with me. Great young adults in every way. My housekeeper, Mariluz often surprised me with towel art and kept my villa immaculate. The reception staff of Maricruz, Osmar, Adolfo and Kenny constantly keep me laughing with their humor and were helpful anytime I needed assistance. One day I helped train Kenny on his first day on the job to make sure he had adequate knowledge of English in order to perform at a high level. He passed with flying colors! When I come back to Costa Rica next year the only place I will stay is at the Best Western! Aqui es donde está mi familia!

"Has potential."
Excursion54031017160, 26 Juillet 2021

This location has real potential. It lacks a proper lobby and reception area. The check-in station seemed more like a pay booth for a toll road. There is always some sort of construction going on. On one particular day the main passage way to exit out of the parking lot was blocked off. The staff made a make-shift exit out of a back entrance.. however, there was a large ditch that no one told us about. It left my rental with body damage and I had to pay $500 out of pocket for the cosmetic damages caused by this “makeshift exit” I was not compensated at all. All I got was a “sorry, for the inconvenience” and a “we can make arrangements for a taxi to get to the beach. ”

"Great location, friendly staff"
paulacU3910EM, 18 Juillet 2021

The hotel is walking distance from everything you need in Tamarindo. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a great view from our room which was comfortable and spacious. The best part was experiencing all the wildlife right outside our hotel room!

"Amazing stay!"
JessieRose418, 17 Juillet 2021

The staff at the hotel was amazing! Evelyn was just such a sweetheart at breakfast always making sure to fill our bottles with ice water to keep us hydrated thru the day. The rooms are amazing! We stayed in 404 with a great view of the Forrest and we could hear the howler monkeys in the evenings. The evening bar staff was amazing g and made wonderful fruit smoothies. Great pool with swim up bar. Walking distance to the beach and many shops and restaurants.

"Costa Rica"
Navigate35126444032, 16 Juillet 2021

Maricruz, Max, Adolfo, Evelyn were all outstanding and hospitable. Customer service was spot on and location was excellent. The 3rd level room view was unbelievable. It was close to main strip, close to beach access. We'll be back, no doubt!

"Fabulous experience."
Nomad52868134865, 16 Juillet 2021

Maricruz, Evelyn and Adolfo are amazing staff. We had 10 fabulous days in the room with ocean view. Poolside bar was nice and overlooked great scenery. Close to shops and restaurants. Walking distance to the beach. Free use of kayaks and surfboards.

"Wow"
richardsong513, 16 Juillet 2021

What a great place to stay. Our room had such a great view, very clean and caring hours of employees The staff Maricruz (reception), Max (maid service), Adolfo (night reception/point of contact for reservation) and Sarina (brought breakfast to the room every morning). They made the stay that much better.

"Staff make this place "
silkfunkybrit, 09 Juillet 2021

The staff make this place I came here on a whim and I needed some TLC .I really needed as much love as a room.Well I got it.The minute I checked in the receptionist made me feel so welcome. She recognised my feelings of despair at that moment and gave me a big hug. I had breakfast and the breakfast staff were just incredible. The service here is amazing. I had an omelette which was delicious. My room 201 was lovely.it had a sliding door leading to an outside terrace next to the pool with a dining table and day bed outside. The room was lovely .fridge and microwave included .My husband arrived later that night and he wasnt allowed onto the property without my say so..That's good security for you.The security guy was great. All the staff were amazing. The hotel was great but the staff made it 100%

"Bed Collapsed and Dust Everywhere!"
Nomad813482, 10 Juin 2021

Mattress was on wood planks - side rail came off frame collapsing entire side of bed. Entire room was dusty, dirty. Property appears old and run down. Even some paint would help. The property itself is not well laid out requiring long walks to get anywhere.

"Clean and worth the price"
elizaliddiard, 23 Mai 2021

The room and area was very clean and nice. It was simple, no frills. But it was outstanding for the price. The only issue we had was that the website says they rent beach toys, but they do not do that anymore. That was a disappointment. But other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay

"Excellent staff - Outdated hotel"
GabrielWk5, 13 Mai 2021

Excellent staff - Outdated hotel. VERY outdated and some amenities did not even work and needed to be replaced. Great location and great staff that want to help but there is so much they can do. Hotel needs a serious facelift.

"More than you expect"
757prestons, 10 Mai 2021

We have stayed here twice now and the service is always great and the staff is very helpful. Despite the COVID concerns the staff adapted and still make your stay great. Breakfast each morning was served to our room which wasn't as fun as last time with the outdoor buffet feature last time we stayed but still overall enjoyable and the pancakes are amazing and the thickest ones we have ever seen. Really enjoyed it and plan on staying again and again. And the beach is right across the street with a small walk which wasn't any issue even with a 2 and 10yr old child. They also have surfing lessons on site and the instructor Eric is phenomenal with kids and beginners

"Really good price, view and staff"
BruceDing, 28 Avril 2021

Stayed 3 nights. Great pool. Jacuzzi is closed. Sometimes no hot water. Door lock did not work but it had two night latches that did. 3rd level had a lot of stairs to get there...but the ocean view was great. Good wifi and tv was good. Good A/C. Price was cheap.

"Great inexpensive option in Tamarindo"
VanorasCrew, 25 Avril 2021

Enjoyed our stay here. Inexpensive, but all the amenities....breakfast, pool, ocean view, comfy bed. Only stayed one night, but we'll come back with friends. Away from the hub bub of main town, but close enough for walking.

"Love this place"
brucea323, 06 Février 2021

Super friendly English speaking staff. Very secure. Rooms have been upgraded since my last visit. Real flush toilets. Clean. Excellent WiFi. Great pool and even a mediocre but adequate on site gym. Decent breakfast brought to your room. Good location near the lagoon part of the beach.

"Awesome hotel and surf school"
S6964HSmichelleb, 07 Janvier 2021

The hotel is well situated on the strip with restaurants to choose from. Beach is a short walk. Breakfast was good. COVID precautions and cleanliness were taken into account. Best part was the surf school Salty Sols ran by Eric. My son and husband really enjoyedthe group classes and learned the ropes to be able to catch a wave! Take a class, you will love it.

"Location, Location, Location - Minutes from the main strip"
torontonian2016, 02 Avril 2020

This hotel and grounds will work for you - affordable, convenient and secure. Free breakfast with a variety "A La Carte Menu " choices. It's fresh but nothing outstanding. The property is spacious with many different suites. Rooms with balconies facing the ocean are amazing. The pool is comfortable and clean. The bar has a Happy Hour, management is exceptional and accommodating, staff are very kind. Tour Guide - We used a local guide who spoke English fluently. Victor from VIC TOURS is very experienced, honest, friendly and accommodating. Spent a full day with him doing a private guided tour to visit crocodiles, monkeys and stunning birds. Visited an iguana park and ended the day Zip-lining. Victor will tailor your tour to your specific interests. He also offers private fishing trips or ATVing. His price is VERY reasonable. Contact him at victours08@gmail.com or (011) 506-8548-0059. He will pick you up at the airport or drop you off (Best Western can also arrange this service). Overall, the hotel is CLEAN and MAINTAINED! The suite was clean and bedding was comfortable. The decor, washrooms and furniture are dated but serve its purpose. It's the vintage of most BW, Holiday Inn etc. The hotel suites and patio furniture need upgrading. The property has so much to offer and can do with minor cosmetic modifications. This is wonderful value for the daily rate. The best part is that you are on the beach once you leave the property. Cross the road and in four minutes in the ocean. It is on the edge of Tamarindo so it's not busy. A seven minute walk along the main commercial street puts you at the centre of the action. Check out Wabi-Sabi for Japanese. Delicious, very fresh and reasonable.

"Perfect Hotel for a Budget!"
TheMagpieee, 10 Mars 2020

The hotel was perfect for us! The pool was rarely crowded with a swim up bar. The staff is very friendly. Our room was smaller but we had a fabulous view of the mountains and ocean. It's located on the quieter edge of town but close enough to restaurants and shopping. The beach is just across the street. Would absolutely stay here again!

"Not sure I would recommend..."
julietY5614PK, 02 Mars 2020

We arrived at this hotel on a Friday night and were very pleased with the lovely view and the space that the suite offered (we were travelling with two teenagers so not being on top of eachother is very important to family harmony). The room was dated and the beds not super comfortable. The bedding was dingy and scratchy. None of that mattered the first night because there was no chance of sleeping anyhow. There was a party by the pool. Now, I had read reviews on here warning about it. I thought it would be no big deal. I don't need complete silence. I enjoy a party. Well, what I did not expect was deafening noise coming from two directions (ie two different DJs blasting their different music at the same time). I had a decibel metre on my phone and it was 87 decibels. This is not just "a little noise". I called front desk to ask how long this was going to go on. She was quite rude and said that she had advised my husband about this when he checked in. Ummmm not helpful. This info would be been more useful at time of booking. She said there is a warning on their website but I was unable to find it. This noise went on until 2:30am. It was awful. The pool area is nice enough. The view is good. The pool bar is good. The breakfast however was AWFUL. The choice is super limited. There are absolutely no meat options available. You can pay extra for eggs benedict if you like (which was actually lunch meat on toast with fried eggs and a disgusting looking gelatinous mixture poured on top. There were frequently no coffee cups. They had no butter for the toast. So nice dry toast was super lovely. Service was slow. The coffee was good though. When you could find a cup to put it in. The hotel was well located. But given all the issues we had with it I would not recommend. Was also pretty off put by how dismissive the front desk was about our concerns about the noise given that we are diamond elite members. It was very disappointing.

"Perfect!"
854mais, 27 Février 2020

Can't beat the views at the BW Vista Villas and only a stone's throw from the beach. The pool area is perfect for an afternoon dip or evening drink at the swim up bar. Service throughout was impeccable. Check in was quick. Staff were very friendly and willing to accommodate our many requests. Equipment rentals are a huge plus. Breakfast offerings are reasonable. Look forward to visiting again!

"Stayed one night"
Leeworldtraveller, 25 Février 2020

Hotel is charming, location is good, not so close to the downtown loudness. We stayed on a Friday night - there is always 2 live bands Friday night - so be sure to not have a room near the pool. The hotel warned us of the band before we checked in. Unfortunately when I got there the room was not ready, and then the Friday night we waited 2 hours for meals and the kids meals never showed up. We did get a refund for the food, but the hotel manager was supposed to get us a discount on a day trip, said they will call us, but never did.

"Well located"
MargotS123, 11 Février 2020

This hotel is well located across the street from the beach and near the centre of Tamarindo town. The room was spacious and clean with a nice view. Free boogie boards were available on site. The free breakfast was mediocre with cold coffee sometimes and no fruit on occasion. Maid service was undependable with no towels one day, no face clothes another and the shower not cleaned many days. Friday night they host a wild party till 2:30 am so don't expect to sleep.

"Reception is unhelpful, ant infestation, bad management and not worth the money"
lil024, 10 Février 2020

For the price there are absolutely many more places worth your money! If I payed less it may have been decent but the manager at front desk reception was unwilling to go out of her way to help. This was our last stay in costa rica after visiting Arenal and Monteverde and without a doubt this was the worst and most unhelpful stay. We extended our stay and paid the same price but were treated like new guests and were forced to check out and check back in and vacate the premise while waiting for a new room. Surprisingly, the new room was actually nicer then the old room and wasn't infested with ants. Paid for a partial ocean view and got a view of trees. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE, wifi is subpar and you have to go searching for cellular signal. Also management does no regulate who comes onto the premise and lets anyone into the pool because the pool has street access. Pool was filthy and appeared to be filled with locals who were friends with the hotel staff. No wristbands given upon checkin so no way to tell who was actually staying in the hotel or who decided to pop in and use the pool with there family. All in all, this hotel is not a representation of the best western that I'm familiar with in Canada and the United States, is poorly managed and I have no clue what I paid through the roof for. One positive is that the bar staff was friendly.

"Great Experience :)"
itskeithgibson, 31 Janvier 2020

We stayed for a week and had so much FUN! Stephanie at the bar was AMAZING :) Mario was super cool also and reception (I THINK Marlene and Max -- so sorry if I forgot) were a pleasure. Thank you all so much and see you soon! Oh and party Friday Night is wild and fun!

"Fun Two Weeks"
davecm329, 24 Janvier 2020

We stayed here for 2 weeks in January 2020. Had a great time. The hotel is clean and comfortable with a nice pool and welcoming bar. Its a short walk to the beach and to nearby restaurants, bars and shops in the downtown business district. The morning breakfast was simple but sufficient. Let me mention that Mario and Evelyn, the breakfast staff, brightened very morning. Check in and out was quick and easy. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly, particularly Maricruz who always went out of her way to assist. Also, a special note about the staff in general. Maybe its just a Tico thing, but,all were very nice and very helpful. Ronald (Pichi) seem to be everywhere working on everything. He always had a smile and helped made our stay memorable. We plan to return.

"I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE"
piadiaz, 04 Janvier 2020

We arrived on time to the check in around 10min before 15:00, the recepcionist doesn't apply the payment because the room wasn't ready yet, we walked to the bar and asked for a beer.. 15min later we had to wait for 1hour in the line at the reception. All the pricess are in dollars but they dont charge you the payment in dollars because "they cant". THE ROOM, the bed has a huge edges eliminating all the space into de little room, it doesnt have fridge so you cant no take any food with you, it has a good view, it has AC, but you can hear all the sounds of the neighbors and ofc they can hear you too, the bathroom it's too little too. Breakfast, terrible! I asked for fried overeasy eggs and the gave to me 2 eggs overcooked and they were greasy. About the good things its very near to the beach and they loan some equipment to the beach.

"Destination Wedding"
gjd457, 17 Décembre 2019

We had a great time in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The town and people were accommodating and the surf was great. Our group stayed in the best mansions to the average hotels everyone had a great time. My first time to central america so not that knowledgeable but we had a fun family and friends weddling.

"Appalling customer service"
Janey T, 14 Décembre 2019

I am about to go to Tamarindo in the beginning of January 2020 and booked the hotel way back in June. l sent messages to request single beds and they only just answered yesterday!! They then informed me the the night we arrive and for four days there will be an underground house music festival at the hotel that goes on for 24hrs each day. This is also located right in front of our room. I do not understand why they did not inform us sooner, as leaving it so late has made it difficult to find an alternative hotel at a good price. I love a party and house music, however if that's what l wanted l would be going to Ibiza and not all that way to Costa Rica. Their conduct is very disappointing and unacceptable. I feel sorry for other guests that are going to have sleepless nights and the peace and tranquility of the holiday ruined.... Fortunately l found a lovely place to stay and they also answer any questions by return the same day!!!!

"Nice place"
G7578ZZlauram, 13 Décembre 2019

Two minutes from the beach (across the road). Very clean, friendly staff. Room cleaning by Lizz was fantastic - she was very friendly and deligent in keeping our room clean and well stocked with all imenedies. Restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. Very great place and good value.

"Quite average and requires maintenance"
sumairar2019, 04 Décembre 2019

We stayed here for two nights. Pictures gives a very deceptive picture. When we checked in, the rooms were very basic, sheets had stains on them and no soap in the bathroom. The towels were old and yellowish. The pool area was not appealing at all. The pool water was dirty. Kids didn't want to go inside. Overall a mediocre and average place

"My favorite place to stay in Tamarindo!"
VanCosta, 01 Décembre 2019

Great location! Super close to everything! Amazing views! Front desk, bar and restaurant staff were all super friendly and extremely attentive. Great pool and ambiance in the lounge! I definitely plan to stay here next time I'm in Tamarindo!

"Awesome "
772alejandrad, 25 Novembre 2019

We spent 1 week in tamarindo. The best Western is awesome. It is safe, clean, and friendly. So many perks. We loved the free breakfast. The gym is great. Free use of surf boards, boogy boards, and sup. Excellent location. Beautiful sunsets. You get ao much for your money. The beach is across the street. Really appreciate the wonderful staff.

"Ok at best."
I6436CUsteveg, 23 Novembre 2019

This place is ok... the view from the pool is amazing, but that's the extent of my praise. It's on the edge of the town so all the bars and restaurants are a little bit of a walk. They had breakfast and a gym, but neither were very good. Thankfully we weren't here on Friday. The pool area turns into an aggressively loud night club until 3:30am. I'm not against a party, but this is too much. I don't know how anyone could stay here with a family.

"Just a few details"
Daniela B, 17 Novembre 2019

The staff was phenomenal, specially the bar and the offer they have from 4-7 everyday, never fail and the friday party are the best, you have to stop and enjoy the game at the TV and enjoy the breakfast, our best guide there and who give us some recommendatios to do everyday was Hessler Villegas and Erick Salty Sol. The rooms are a king of old and need some upgrade but the staff is just awesome and help yu all the time.

"Another wonderfull stay at the Best Western Tamarindo."
Dean B, 17 Novembre 2019

This was my third stay at the Best Western Tamarindo, and as ever had a wonderfull stay. The view from my room was breathtaking and kept impeccably clean by the allways smiling and helpfull maid Sandra. As a disabled traveller the staff at reception were allways willing to go the extra mile to help make my stay as pleasant as possible, so thank you Mari Cruz, Jennifer, and Osmar. Also many thanks to Eric for helping me out to surf and the advise of where to safely snorkle using the freely supplied beach equipment. Lastly I would like to thank the attentitive restaurant and Bar Staff Hesler,Mario and Stephanie. Can't understand the complaints about Friday nights, though lively it's such a fun night espesially watching the Latin dancing, guys you are are on holiday, and it does not go on all night and the rest of the time the bar is such a laid back place to hang out after day at the beach playing and surfing with million Doller views of the ocean. See you again soon.

"The good, the bad, and the annoying."
Laura C, 14 Novembre 2019

First for the good: you can't beat the view from the pool area or the ocean view rooms. Especially for the price. The staff are all extremely friendly and willing to help, but there was an occasional language barrier (yes, that is our fault and totally not theirs!) The pool was nice and refreshing and always nice to have a swimup bar. Access to surf boards and boogie boards is a great addition, and you can keep them for your whole stay, which saves time every morning if you want to get an early start. Monkeys. There is a troupe of monkeys that hangs out in the trees by the steep driveway. They were a blast to watch. The bad: Its sadly a long list. The furniture. The beds are not uncomfortable in of themselves, but the frames are the noisiest things I have ever encountered. Every time you move in bed it makes the most awful creaking sounds. The sheets on the bed were very rough and scratchy, especially when you have spent the whole day at the beach and some back with a sunburn. And the outdoor patio furniture was very uncomfortable to sit on and enjoy the beautiful view so we really didn't spend as much time out there as we would have liked. The lounge chairs around the pool (the few that there were) had seen better days and most were sagging almost to the ground. It looked like they were in the process of fixing them, but slowly. The Crazy Monkey breakfast was pretty good and filling but we made the mistake of eating there one night. WORST. BUGER. EVER. I haven't had a burger that bad since the junior high cafeteria. And speaking of the Crazy Monkey... Friday nights. They can warn you that it "might" be a little noisy during their weekly party. They lie. It is beyond just a little noisy. It was deafening. With a beat that pounded in your head until you think it might explode. It was so freaking loud that it was scaring the cockroaches out of the walls to run around our room looking for somewhere to hide from the racket. If you are not a 20 something party animal, my suggestion is plan your trip so you ARE NOT STAYING HERE on a friday night. Even a woman we met staying across the street and down a block said the noise kept her awake. The annoying: The steps going up to the hotel from the street. Yes, if you do any research before you book, you will know about them. They are very pretty, but day after day of use killed my knees. Again, this is my fault and not the hotel's because I am the one with bad knees, but be forewarned that this might not a good hotel choice for anyone with mobility issues. And speaking of access, another issue that is in no way the hotel's fault but we found to be a problem at times is the lack of a sidewalk. You have to walk along the side of the road for a couple of blocks to and from town and at times the traffic on the road is very heavy and going faster than it should with pedestrians present. All in all this is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". We enjoyed our time here, but would not stay at Vista Villas again.

"Great location + Awesome staff!!!"
ohlordyjordy, 04 Novembre 2019

If you are looking for a nice cozy place to stay, right by the beach with all of the essentials for a room.... you should stay here! My boyfriend and I did lots of research & we chose this place! It was great & dog friendly for my pup that o brought with us. All of the staff were soooooo helpful and very very friendly. The rooms were very clean & safe. The grounds were nice and tidy and there is a breathtaking view of the ocean from the terrace where you swim and dine. This place is perfect for those who are planning to spend lots of time at the beach which is so close (and it's the best part of the beach). Most people who stay at the fancy places have to walk to this property to get to nice part of the beach. So it's Deff the best spot for beach goers! When you check in the staff will let you know exactly how to get to your room and will provide you with a panflit with recommendations of what to do while you are there. They will also let you know that attached to the resort is a bar called “crazy monkey”. The bar is the highlight for the entire town every Friday night, and people travel from San Jose to come to it. It's all you can drink from 9pm-2:30am if you stay at the resort. For people staying at other resorts; they will pay for a wristband to get the same deal. The music is loud but it is a GREAT TIME & you get to meet loads of people ... but just remember it's only like that on Friday. Last point and most important: if you stay at the property you get free Surf board rentals the entire stay. This is GREAT!!!!!!!! Attached to the villa vista is “salty sols surf school” .... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GET A LESSON WITH ERIC! He is the most humble guy in the world. Sooooo nice & will make it his mission to have you surfing in minutes. He is also the best guy to get advice about the town from. I'm sure you will become great friends with hiM. Very cool dude! Overall, I loved this place and I will 100% be staying there when we visit again after the new year! Enjoy!

"Would avoid staying here"
Kyla H, 03 Novembre 2019

We stayed here for 3 nights of our 1 week trip to Costa Rica. In general, the staff was very nice and Eric with Salty Sols was great. He offered us free surf boards and kayaks, which we took advantage of. You also get discounted surf lessons. He was very friendly and helpful. The accommodations weren't terrible but not great. The toilet seat was broken, there was a lot of noise outside our room in the mornings because the environmental services closet was right outside our door, and the beds were very uncomfortable and noisy. We were told that breakfast was included in our room, but after leaving we were charged $40 USD from the restaurant with no explanations or itemized receipt sent to us. When I called, the manager said she would "look at it in the morning" and "IF there's a mistake" we will get a refund. She even made note in the conversation that breakfast was included, and these were other restaurant/bar charges. We did not purchase anything from the restaurant or bar. The "receipt" that I was sent did not show the same amount total as what was charged to my card. I'll be disputing these charges with my credit card. Would not recommend staying here.

"Visited Tamarindo for Spring break"
Serena R, 08 Octobre 2019

My boyfriend and I loved our villa we had the jungle room with plants and great decor! The staff are so friendly, rooms very clean and available whenever you call. I love the restaurant connected to the hotel which overlooks the city. This place was great because I was in the center of everything the beach, shops, and restaurants. I highly recommend!

We a an awesome time at Vista Villas. Osmar was really helpful and attentive to the guests and made everything easy and fast. Gesler and Estefi will make sure you have fun at the bar (Monkey Bar) with awesome drinks, cold beer and great conversation!!! Will definitely come back!!! Cheers!!! the staff is super friendly and help to book excursions, nice room and view! not counting the salty sols surf school, the owner Eric is amazing. surfboards, bodyboards are free!!! We enjoy this hotel! Pura vida

"Not worth your time"
gn890890, 06 Août 2019

The "ocean view" rooms maybe had an ocean view 20 years ago before the trees grew across the street. The tile floor is super slippery and after multiple slips we decided it's best to leave - not worth the chance our child was gonna break his noggin after we had already broken our bottoms. Done with this place!!!

We had a very good time at Vista Villas. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A special thanks to Stefania (bar and restaurant), Hesler (bar) and Merlo (front desk) who all made our trip very enjoyable. Also a thanks to Erik at Sols Surf School for helping us find the right surf boards. Erik is very friendly and will make you a great surfer.Yes the surfboards are provided by Vista Villas. The food was great and the bar was also very nice....thanks to all at Vista Villas for a fun time in Costa Rica...

Excellent customer service. Everyone was very nice and polite specially all the bartenders. Food was great breakfast was amazing!!! Beutiful room with ocean view. Me and my husband were very happy with our stay.

"I loved this hotel and the folks that work there."

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location. (across the street from the ocean). The room was clean, great breakfast, great view from the pool - with swim up bar. The staff was unbelievably perfect. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. The only bads I found were the steps to the room were pretty steep. Okay for me, but possibly not good for someone with walking issues. Also, Friday nights are fun with the "girls night", but be forewarned that it is loud. A fun loud, but loud. I would stay here again, absolutely.

"Great staff"

We were treated very well by everyone at this hotel while searching for a residence in the area. The activities directors (Eric and ?) were helpful, friendly and present at the breakfast room every morning to help you plan your day!

"One week in Tamarindo"
billsnyder808, 18 Mai 2019

Hotel is located in a great location. The rooms are very nice, we had an oceanview room. The staff was very nice as well! Breakfast was just ok actually. Eggs were pretty stale tasting. Pool with swim up bar was a great touch and very enjoyable. Hotel has a surf school on site Salty Sols. Eric the owner is GREAT! I cannot say enough how enjoyable he made our stay. Not only did he give us a great deal on boards when were were not at hotel, he also gave us all kinds of tips about places to eat and cool places to visit. He treated us like family, inviting us to watch his band perform and socialize together. If you looked up Pura Vida in the encyclopedia you would see Erics picture.

"Good value for money spent!"
Steamul S, 02 Mai 2019

Nice hotel, very clean and well maintained. With huge shady palms and nice green vegetation. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is is extremely tasty and will keep you full for half a day. Swimming pool is clean and doesn't smell chlorine. Steps to the beach, restaurants and cafes. Nice ocean view from balcony. Negative: the mattress could be better and there is no mini fridge in the room.

"Great place, great staff"
greaterdane13, 30 Avril 2019

My friend and I originally were at another hotel in town because this one was sold out for semana santa. We moved over on Sunday afternoon and were extremely happy. The rooms are clean and well kept, the pool is gorgeous and so are the views. There are lovely iguanas that you can feed from your hand! Jose was great at reception. He was funny and extremely helpful. He even helped out at breakfast one day and was chit chatting with everyone while pre- bussing their plates. Nick in the bar area was very attentive and friendly. Staff can make or break a place. I'm already trying to come back around Xmas/NYE but it's already sold out!!! :(

"Great Service"
Esteban S, 25 Avril 2019

Evelyn at the wet bar rocks. What a great bartender, friendly, knowledgeable of the area and honest. Super recommended, you won't be disappointed. Drinks selections are good and prices are fair. Ask for her! Esteban S. Arizona.

Jose and staff were great. Close to the beach and restaurants. Free breakfast included with stay. Beach view from pool is amazing. They also have free surf boards to check out and snorking gear . It's a great deal to stay here.

"Great family vacation"
FernMart, 18 Avril 2019

My Family (10 of us)and I stayed at this Best Western Tamarindo for one week. A short walk to everything. We didn't even have to rent a car. During our stay we received nothing less than wonderful service. Everyone from the cleaning staff to Bartenders and Front desk staff were all so friendly, wonderful and always willing to help. We stayed in the Jungle rooms, a bit small but we really din't stay in the hotel during the day. And, when I got locked out at 3 am Nick helped me. I knew I was safe and not alone. Although everyone was helpful, The few individuals that stood out the most were Daneyssa, Nick, Jaja and Rosa who all went above and beyond to ensure we had tip top bar and restaurant service. The food was always fresh and the drinks were excellent and their service was exceptional. From warming up a baby's bottle to customizing our meals (we are vegan). Another person who helped us during our stay was Andy from the front desk. Our room was not ready the first night so he put us in a suite. Jenny arranged car service for us at a very reasonable rate. And, let me not forget Adolfo from billing. He was very patient with me helping me from 6 months before with my reservations to giving me a line by line explanation of my charges when I returned home. The pool was kept very clean. We did spend alot of evenings poolside and on our off days (no day trips) in the pool. The hotel opened their bar to a public party and I was impressed with security. The hotel made the guests' safety a priority. The staff were so nice. By the end of our stay I felt like I had an extended family. Their smiles were contagious. Can't wait until our next visit to Costa Rica. I know where we will be staying. Thanks to the staff for making our visit a great one!

"Beautiful and great customer service from Andy"

We had a beautiful stay at the Best Western in Tamarindo. We would definitely stay here again. Love the bar, the room, the resort and Andy was amazing and super helpful! Amazing ocean view rooms as well!!!

"Average "
martacY3612QZ, 02 Avril 2019

We wouldn't stay here again. Hotel needs some general updates and maintenance. Room was advertised as having washer and dryer. It did not and I didn't see any them available anywhere in hotel. Breakfast was ok. Our unit was actually split into two separate rooms. One had twin beds and one had a queen. That was nice but there was only one wall mounted air conditioner. There was a partition window between the rooms that you had to keep open otherwise the room without air conditioning was blazing hot. This limited the privacy of the space. We had some ants in our bathroom at night. Price was a good deal. They had free surfboards, paddle boards, kayaks and SUPs for the guests. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

"Great stay"
Callie D, 31 Mars 2019

Rooms are clean and spacious. The oceanview rooms have a great view. The view from the pool, bar and restaurant is amazing! Location is great: across the street from the beach and at the start of the downtown. There is a party on Friday nights that is loud. If that is not your scene then avoid staying Friday nights or get the earplugs provided by the front desk. The breakfast in the morning is good. The staff are amazing and thoughtful. Special shout out to: Maircuz, Liseth, Jennifer, Roberto and Andie.

"Momma Mia Meets Costa Rica"
smaspill, 29 Mars 2019

Andy, the receptionist, is a wonderful young man who greeted us with even more hospitality than the already high level of other Costa Ricans. He was helpful, friendly and was always pleasant when we needed anything. We will be returning to this BW next year. The views from the pool are magnificent, able to see the ocean- a great place to hv ur morning coffee, lounge by the pool and to hv mojitos at the swim up bar. This area reminded me of the hotel in Momma Mia, the movie w Meryl Streep that wove ABBA songs throughout the storyline. Quaint and good-natured people w great views of the ocean. You will need to be able to do stairs to stay at this hotel. The pool is about the equivalent of three stories of stairs. If u need help getting ur suitcases up the stairs, the staff are more than happy to assist.

"Best location Tamarindo"
Dean B, 21 Mars 2019

Spent 3 wonderful weeks at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. The hotel is perfectly situated straight across the road from the beach, and just a short walk from bars restaurants and shops. The room was clean and tidy with that provided unforgettable sunset vistas each night from your own personal patio to kick back and chill. The bar was also a cool place to hang by the pool to gaze out over the ocean, providing a good choice of beers and cocktails provided by the attentive bar, staff who go out off their way to be helpful, Nichalas and Rosa, thanks. Had most things from the restaurant menu and can say all was excellent, a favourite of mine being the pizza. I also took advantage of the free beach equipment provided by the hotel. The guys who book out the equipment each mornings were full of knowledge of where the best spots are to snorkel, they even provided a cooler bag so I could take some cold beers with me. I also had a one hour surf lesson provided by Salty Sols Surf school, that was a complete blast. The tutors were patient and fun, and had me popping up in no time. If there is one thing in life you have to try at least once, that is to surf. The memory will stick with me forever. So all in all I had the best of times staying at this hotel, perfect, cant wait till I get back, Dean

"Great time Great Stay"
PollyM127, 14 Mars 2019

We booked a family stay for a week at Best Western Tamarindo and it was great. Not a luxury hotel but lots of bang for our buck! The room was nice, updated, very clean and we had a balcony! Since we were doing excursions around Tamarindo, the hotel was just what we needed. Safe, secure and close to town. A short walk across the street and we were on the beach. The pool and bar are great! My kids had a wonderful time and we could not have asked for better service. There are lots of extras included with the room: beach towels, snorkel gear, kayaks, free 1 hour surf lesson and use of boards anytime. We will definitely stay here again!

"Very nice hotel"
phamthb0, 13 Mars 2019

Loved that place! The hotel is very well located, 5 min walk from the beach. The rooms were clean and spacious with an amazing ocean view. The swimming pool is nice and we can rent beach equipment, such as kayaks, surfboards and bodyboards, for free. Highly recommended!

"Best western/ crazy monkey"
Hitrippin, 12 Mars 2019

Just wanted to say that our experience at the best western and crazy monkey was excellent. Stayed there a couple nights and had a blast in the pool and at the crazy monkey bar. The staff was excellent especially Daneyssa Aguilera, she was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and showed us a good time while at the crazy monkey. A definite recommend to anyone visiting Tamarindo. Parker H.

Zachary T, 07 Mars 2019

This hotel was amazing, so family friendly it was in a good location to the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and up to date. The staff was super friendly. My family would like to give a special shout out to Danyessa Aguilera a staff member there at the Best Western in Tamarindo she was extremely friendly and helpful to my family we enjoyed talking to her everyday we were there. She had so much information for us on things to do and places to see. Thank You so much Danyessa for making my family's trip more enjoyable. Overall I would say my family and I will be definitely planning future trips to the BestWestern in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

One of the many highlights of the trip was lounging around the pool bar. Best place for sunsets and bartender Daneyssa Aguilera's killer Piña Coladas. Thank you, Daneyssa, for keeping the drinks and laughs flowing all day and night.

I stayed about 7days at Tamarindo location. Initially there was problem as my room had no closet space. Finally I made some noise till i was shifted to very nice room with all Kitchen facilities and great view. Breakfast and Bar was great. On Friday's they invite band for dancing. Daneyssa and Nick who work in Bar and Restaurant. Daneyssa made me feel at home she was hospitable and caring. Because of her excellent service I feel referring to other friends and returning myself again .I wish both of them success in their career.. Arun Tangnu

"Met or exceeded my expectations."
395marshaw, 27 Février 2019

To start with, I booked the Best Western realizing I wasn't going to a 4 or 5 star property. The staff there are very good. They are friendly and really seem to try their best to meet or exceed their guests' needs. They were very diligent in making sure I got the correct timing and cost for transportation back to the airport. I want to address some other complaints that I read prior to going. The Friday night party at the bar—I didn't go, but was not bothered by the noise, and I was pretty close to the pool....I turned ac and the ceiling fan on, and it was fine. I'm a light sleeper, and I always wear ear plugs when I sleep so that helped too, but really wasn't a problem. Without the ac on, you can hear most everything outside. The food: breakfast is basic but fine—not great, but partly because of my taste buds. Food was fresh, fruit very good. I also ordered food at the bar, and it was good. Nothing “fabulous”, (pizza and a burger), but it was tasty, prepared correctly, etc. Hotel location is fine...just a short walk across the street to the beach and an easy walk to get to shops and restaurants. You're not in the middle of all the noise of town, but that was fine for me. There was a fridge and coffee pot, and the ac worked well. Shower diverter was a little wonky, but plenty of hot water. Things I would have changed: there was no place to hang clothes, no safe, and no wash cloths. I know in Europe to always take my own wash cloths, but this was the only place across Panamá and Costa Rica where I had this problem. The info sheet said you could ask for them, but they said they didn't have any. There were not enough chairs, tables, or loungers at the pool, so if you didn't get one in the morning, you probably were out of luck. The loaner boards, chairs, etc. are given out between 8-10 am, and again, if you're not there early, they're gone. There weren't enough “pool towels” so I just used my room towels. They also open the pool to locals on the weekend which I applaud on one hand, but I'm a paying guest and didn't appreciate all the kids messing with my pool time.

"Amazing place"
lcrawford789, 26 Février 2019

We stayed at best western the last two days of our Costa Rican trip to lay back and relax. It has been an amazing stay from our room being clean and tidy to the amazing poolside oceanview. Shout out to Daneyssa and Nick from the Monkey Bar!!! Will be recommending!

"Awesome bartenders "
schuks76, 26 Février 2019

Best Western In Tamarindo was easy to find and very reasonable vacation destination. The rooms were clean. The hotel was walking distance from the beach. Daneyssa & Nick were awesome at the Monkey Bar. We were here for two nights and they displayed great customer service. Highly recommend staying at Best Western in Tamarindo.

"Great find in Tamarindo"
R8912FAerics, 17 Février 2019

We have visited 3 times and have always had a good stay. The hotel is great for the price point, the staff are excellent, breakfast is good the hotel is literally accross the street from beach access and the views are unobstructed (just some low trees between hotel and beach). They seem to be on the upswing also we just visited in February 2019 and since our previous visit January 2018 they had put in new restrooms by the pool, the linens seemed new and better, some other little things that made a difference. The free beach equipment is a huge plus too, Eric is always around at breakfast time and will get you set up. I was really appreciative how cool Eric was about the equipment too if you find a board that works for you, he will let you keep it in your room. He gave me some advice about tides. As it happened the tides for my stay the surf was best around 7am. I got some great early morning sessions in before I would have been able to check out a board from the hotel (or rent it anywhere else in town) had Eric not let me keep it. We will be going back to the Best Western.

"Unbelievable"
lnlow13, 11 Février 2019

Our highlight was that we were able to see the ocean from our room. The man who checked us in was polite. Everything else about the place went downhill. We arrived a little early so he explained they were still cleaning our rooms and to come back after 3pm. We checked-in and found the queen bed was placed in the middle of the room with very little room to walk past it. It only had a sheet on the bed that was too small for a queen bed, no other blankets. Garbage was left on the ledge by the shower. There is a coffee maker in the room that obviously hadn't been washed down as it still had the used coffee grounds in it from the previous guest who stayed in the room. We didn't know why we had to wait for them to clean the room if this was their best. They were fully booked so there were no other rooms to move to. The bed was okay as long as you didn't move. It was noisy as though we slept with plastic under us. We went down to the pool bar and there was only one bartender on duty. We stood there watching him pour/mix drinks and there was no acknowledgement that he knew we were there waiting even when we said hello. The location of the hotel is a little bit past the stretch of beach. Be careful when you walk back to the hotel at night as there are no street lights in that area and no sidewalk. Next time we'd stay closer to the town and would pay more.

"The surf school was amazing!!! Erik is so effective as a surf coach!"
torotorotorotoro, 08 Février 2019

I had room 303 and I loved the view and the people that worked there! The only issue I had was that I tried to get a chair at the pool and everything was taken by people that I don't believe were guests there. The pool area was usually noisy with a lot of kids. I did enjoy the weather and the great service from the staff! Very very good people that clean our rooms! Samantha was amazing!

"6 Night Family Vacation "
Mellojuice, 05 Février 2019

We just got back from our Costa Rican family vacation at Best Western Vista Villas. I am really torn when writing this review because we had a really great time however there are some things that they could change to make the stay way better. Location. This is very Close to the centre of town. Walking distance to almost everything in Tamarindo. The beach is literally right across the street. Views. The views of the beach & mountains are priceless. Watching the sunset from our room every evening was amazing. The Pool. The pool is small but the deep end is 9ft deep which is fun for diving! The second level with the waterfall is so nice. After a long day of excursions, sitting under the waterfall looking out at the amazing view was perfect! Room. Our room was 402 and it was a bit outdated but it was huge. Very open and spacious. Clean and had everything we needed. Except an iron. Again the view was amazing. The could paint the roof below a more neutral colour as the bright red was a bit distracting and took away from the gorgeous view. There was a few ants but if you keep your room clean and they won't bother you. (Kids had left candy out) Breakfast. The breakfast was delicious however the pancakes were disgusting. Never had anything like that in my life they tasted like dough flavoured. My kids were so upset because they looked good but tasted awful. Everything else was good only complaint is they do not have many options and it's the same thing everyday. (Beans and rice, Scrambled eggs, toast, 2 kinds of cereal, watermelon & pineapple, water, fruit juice and coffee/tea) also seating is hard to find at times. Dining area was clean and staff were pleasant. Bar & Restaurant. Had dinner the first night at the restaurant. It is pricey and not the best. We had pizza which was just okay. Kind of like what you would get if you made pizza at home with your kids lol. Food took really long to come out. The bar is overpriced. The happy hour prices should be the regular prices. And the bartenders we not the friendliest. Drinks were made from scratch. The pina colada was not good at all. Strawberry daiquiri was okay and the mango daiquiri was delicious! Parking. We were on the top lever so we had to drive up a steep dirt road but I didn't mind it. Was kinda fun for us. There was plenty of spots and again the views were great! Check-in. Okay so this was a hassle only because I didn't realize that check-in was only until 10pm and my flight got in at 11pm so we arrived pretty late. The security guard had to check us in and it was fine but the language barrier was so stressful. He didn't speak a word of English so it was a struggle but then again I should have read the fine print regarding check in times. Surf board rentals. We heard there was free surf board rentals but never got any. There is an old man who sits at a booth in the morning by the breakfast area promoting surf lessons but his sign says nothing about free surfing. He wasn't very friendly, never gave us a smile or a “good morning” as we walked passed so we didn't bother talk to him. Friday Night Party. Okay so I see people complaining about the Friday night party but we loved it. It is loud but it wasn't bad from our room. My youngest slept through it. We went down and had a great time. There's 2 areas one by the pool with the younger crowd and one in the back of the restaurant with an older crowd. It does get packed and a bit rowdy but it was one night and it was so much fun! Staff. They were okay. Not the friendliest but they were not rude either. Never had a problem. Was annoying when they would ask for my room every morning for breakfast but it's understandable seeing how the area is open to the public. Altogether we had an amazing trip. For the price I would say it was okay. The artwork on the stairs is amazing. Great for photos. The hotel is small but gives a resort feel. The location and views are worth every penny. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars Advice to the hotel: Lower food and drink prices so we wouldn't have to go elsewhere.

"Be aware"
2018cap, 03 Février 2019

The staff is pleasant. Best Western notifies you on their web site that Friday night is party night until 2 a.m. They will supply ear plugs but it doesn't block the heavy bass. If you get a room the furthest from the bar you will probably sleep. BW has about 30 rooms, 8 pool lounge chairs, 11 chair, & little shade. Anyone can come to BW & enjoy the pool. On Sunday's BW has a pool party & hires a DJ for about 3 hrs. Your ears will hurt! There are children exposed to this, you can't have a conversation with the person next to you. I asked the DJ to turn it down. He said, I'm working, respect my work then maybe I'll respect your vacation. I tried speaking to him further. He said, I don't speak English, say it in Espanol. Gave him the thumbs down. If this is what you're looking for during your hard earned vacation then BW is for you.

"Don't Stay There"
Trail44132203195, 02 Février 2019

This maybe one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The reception area was one step below a hut. The room was not clean and the same dead insects were behind the toilet my entire stay. The reception staff was more concerned about their friends and colleagues coming in and out then they were about checking guests in. The breakfast was inexcusable. Who eats scrambled eggs mixed with hot dogs and who serves old bananas in a region where they grow abundantly? Best Western you should be ashamed!

"Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else"
Amanda P, 31 Janvier 2019

When we arrived, there were ants in our bed and the toilet was broken. At the breakfast, there was no coffee cups and it was a struggle to get someone to get mugs from the kitchen. The staff pretend they are busy or don't understand, it took them oVer six hours to refill the ate food in the gym. Every day I had to ask for soap and coffee in the room. The housekeeper never replaced the mugs either. They also stole from us. Honestly, pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.

"Best western, Tamarindo"
Leaith V, 25 Janvier 2019

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When we first arrived I had an issue with the room I was assigned. I immediately contacted Andy at the front desk and advised him about my concern. He contacted the head of housekeeping Liseth, she met me at my room. Shortly after I was relocated to another room. In my opinion these 2 employees went above and beyond to see that concerns were remedied. If it wasn't for their prompt attention I certainly wouldn't of been able to have enjoyed my sleeping quarters. So thanks again to these 2 staff members at the Best Western in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. As for the hotel itself, some upgrades in the beds are desperately needed, every time you move the best makes a lot of noise!,Good location to the beach area, a very short walk. Over all the staff at the bar was very good, especially the bartender Nick.

"Much better than I thought!"
Woodcrest55129, 16 Janvier 2019

Holiday weekend, you take what you can get. By the time we arrived, even this BW was fully booked (everywhere the prices were 2X-3X). We had doubts as the BW brand has seen it better days. As we arrived i saw the wear and tear in the steps and the older buildings. But I latter grew to love the place. We had a nice large 2 bedroom room with patio and AC. Free hot breakfast. Free drinks late night. Free use of surfboards, buggy boards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs and umbrellas etc. The surfing class my daughters too were very reasonable. And the beach only across the street. The pool is high enough on the hill to provide a nice view of the ocean. Drinks and fools while you sit in the pool, nice. Yes, we would stay there again! Loved it! Good service too! (They are building new 2 new additions behind the pool with gym.)

"Very disappointed "
TwoCanucksOnTheBeach, 12 Janvier 2019

Just make sure you do your research before your stay. I think the bar and pool area is also a day club for the locals as we were here on a sat afternoon and their was about 15 kids jumping and splashing in the pool. So needless to say I didn't go in the pool, it also looked a little dirty/cloudy. I then waited to order a drink from the bar, I stood there for 10mins and the guy working behind the bar didn't even acknowledge that I was there, no hello no I'll be right with you, so I ended up leaving and went to the beach as well I couldn't take the screaming kids. Note; the walk to town from this hotel has no sidewalk you are literally walking on the edge of the road, and the cars are whipping by fast. That's just something they don't advertise on the hotel website, as well it's a bit far from the main area where all the restaurants, beach bars & cute beach stores are located. Our friends room wasn't even cleaned or fully cleaned properly as there was still garbage in their bathroom garbage can & coffee still in the coffee pot from previous guests. Not a great first impression. Oh and you only get a sheet to sleep with, there is no bedspread on your bed, but they do proved you with a fleece blanket that barely covers two people. So rooms are very small, just big enough to walk around your bed and that's it, other rooms maybe bigger but we were in the ocean view room third floor. Anyway if I could do this over again I'd pay more to stay closer to town. Tamarindo is beautiful little town, great energy & vibe!

"Christmas stay"
Costaricatravelling9, 07 Janvier 2019

I stayed here over Christmas and had a great experience... we even got a lovely Christmas arrival gift! Pool, room and bar were all great. Shower was slightly cold but that's quite typical of Costa Rica. Breakfast was amazing - all local Costa Rican food. Best thing about this hotel was the staff and their service!

"My Favorite Place to stay in Tamarindo!"

This is the perfect hotel to stay at when in the Guanacaste area. Location, location, LOCATION walking distance to everything in Tamarindo and amazing ocean views! Great staff, food, and free beach equipment!

"Great stay at Tamarindo Best Western"
danieljV6850VN, 20 Décembre 2018

Great view, beautiful spacious room, great breakfast and coffee, free use of boogie boards! Highly recommend staying at this hotel. It is also close enough to town so that you just walk down the steps and in two minutes you are there, and same for the beach.

"Pool and the Monkey bar "
emmywright18, 14 Décembre 2018

We decided to go to the pool for some sun and a quick swim. The pool was nice and cool and they had a few lounge chairs. We sunned, swam, and had a few beers and some nachos and a wrap at the bar. The food was good and had big portions. We loved Nick who worked at the bar. He talked to us about how to cook plantains and how they are prepared as well as how much Tamarindo has grown. He was a pleasure to talk to, very kind, and made our afternoon enjoyable. Glad we decided to spend our afternoon at the monkey bar!

"Best Location and Friendly Staff"
nilsemilio, 13 Décembre 2018

I stayed there for a weekend with old friends and it was perfect. Waking up with that view every day, it just sets your mind in the best possible way to start the day. But I have to say that the best of overall was the service, specially Marisol and Adolfo. They took care of all of us!! Thanks for everything guys!!!

"Great Value but musty smelling. "
Sarah S, 18 Octobre 2018

The Best Western in Tamarindo is a great value for the money. We had an ocean view room with breakfast included, Access to surfboards and boogie boards at no extra cost for only $82 US per night. Everybody who work there was super friendly the bartender's offered us free shots! Are only complaint was the musty smell in the rooms. It is extremely humid in Costa Rica and when the rooms are closed up the smell is not very pleasant. It's important to open your windows to air out the musty smell. I would rate this motel at 3 stars. Great place to stay if you're on a budget and not looking to spend a lot of money on accommodations.

"Excellent!"

The place is great! Nice comfy rooms, beautiful view to the ocean, great food and nightlife, close to the beach, employees are very nice. I totally recommend the place and if you go, ask for Adolfo, you won't regret it!

"Free breakfast! Free surf boards! Free kayaks! Free paddle boards! What's not to love?!"
Brynann, 04 Octobre 2018

Wonderful time at the Best Western in Tamarindo, Costa Rica thanks to Sharom, Mariano & all the great, very personable staff! Beautiful views from every room! Walk across the street to the perfect beach for surfing! Walk to great restaurants!

"Great Service with a Smile"
Brian G, 03 Octobre 2018

This was me and my wifes first time in Costa Rica and Staying at Vista Villas was fantastic. We were first greeted at reception by Jennifer and she was very friendly and helpful about everything at the Hotel and were different things were located. When we got to our room it was very Clean and Cool, The A/C worked Great, and was perfect size for the two of us. The pool and the bar were really nicely maintained and Sharom and Lorenzo were great at Tending the bar and wiating. I visited during football season and They let me take control of the TV's so I could get the game on which was pretty, awesome! The equipment Rental was awesome to, we got body boards and had a lot of fun in the surf. The other thing that was great was the Laundry service and it was very affordable. The beach is across the street and a little bit of a walk but not that bad and you the beach is amazing. I loved this place because everybody was so friendly and helpful and the Town of Tamarindo was Great as well. We loved it here and can't wait to come back!!

"Sharon is the best!"
Joey S, 02 Octobre 2018

while visiting Costa Rica, we decided to stay at best western when traveling to Tamarindo. We are glad we made the decision. Sharon was the best. She was a great bartender. She is fast, provides great recommendations and conversation.

"Great stay, great staff"
jhigh0123, 02 Octobre 2018

Had a great stay here recently. Across the street from the beach and a short walk to the main part of town. It was our first time visiting Tamarindo. The hotel staff were so helpful not just in their duties at the hotel but also in recommending beaches and restaurants to visit, telling us about the area and local activities, etc. They were all so welcoming and friendly that we made a point of stopping by Reception every day to say hello. Sharon, Max, Marisol, Jennifer and Mariano...thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

"Beautiful Hotel"
Maria E, 30 Septembre 2018

The staff was amazing. Maricruz and Adolfo will go out their way to make your stay as pleasant as can be! Will return next year!! The food is delicious and the view was incredible!! Had so much fun while in Tamarindo and this hotel definitely is the one to go to!!

"best place to stay while in Tamarindo for a true Costa Rican experience !"
Chip N, 04 Septembre 2018

I have stayed in many places in all of my visits to CR but I love coming back to the Best Western as this hotel has the best view of the ocean and everything about it resembles what you want to experience while staying in Tamarindo. The hotel staff and everyone involved with running the hotel are friendly and more than willing to go out of their way to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. You can stay in more expensive hotels but I love this one because it represents a true Costa Rican experience - the best !!

"Nice family style hotel close to the beach, outstanding staff!"
Nina961, 31 Août 2018

We enjoyed our 4 days here at the beach. The hotel is across the road from the beach but everything is close by as long as you can walk up the hill or a few flights of stairs. If you have any disability issues I would avoid this hotel. We had the large family villa which was great because the kitchen allowed us to eat in for dinner. The balcony was a great view of the beach area. We did borrow Kayaks (free) and it was a bit of work to move them to the beach but the experience of being on the water was excellent. The breakfast is delicious and we enjoyed the food. The staff are all very dedicated to doing a great job. The checkin staff were very nice and welcoming, breakfast was well managed and nicely prepared, Eric the activities staff member was welcoming to people who had little experience in water sports. I look forward to coming back another time. It's a very warm area and warm all year so I think the hotel is quite busy all the time. I liked being a little away from the beach and the bars. They do have a friday night party which is very loud and goes late but we arrived afterwards and didn't have any issues.

"Adolfo arranged a wonderful visit"
Pamelajewel, 23 Août 2018

Coming to Vista Villas since 1998 how could it get any better. With the gracious assistance of Adolfo our clan arrived to wonderful accommodations. We will return next June. Thanks to all at the Vista Villas, still the coolest, most pleasant place to stay in Tamarindo. Pam Lowe

"Not impressed with services"
johnson863, 18 Août 2018

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Tamarindo the room was probably the nicest on the property. They were doing construction below my balcony so not impressed with the noise during the day. The furniture in the room looks used and cheaper quality. The restaurant service and food were not good. It's better to walk down the street to other restaurants as there are lots. It's more of lower quality with party noise during events they have. That is listed on their website so pay attention if you don't like it. Staff didn't even ask how my stay was when I checked out. No I won't be back and neither will my clients. There is much better options in Tamarindo. Best Western needs to step up their game in quality in this country. Staff and reception were friendly.

"AMAZING TRIP"
Kelsey J, 11 Août 2018

What an amazing vacation and wonderful accommodations from the folks at the Best Western! Marisol and Mariano in the front office were so helpful and kind with any questions we needed on our trip! They helped with calling cabs, getting us FREE SURF BOARDS, booking Tours with local zip line and estuary tour with a discount! They were so friendly and accommodating to anything we needed. The rooms were clean and the balcony views were unbelievable. We said we would stay here again no matter what! Also, this hotel is hooked up to the Monkey Bar which is a loud and crowded scene on Friday night but besides that we felt like we had the pool to ourselves all week. In the morning there is a FREE breakfast served by Sharom who is a sweet and nurturing woman who knows a lot about Tamarindo as she has lived there for many years! It was a pleasure to wake up and go see her every morning for breakfast! They have a buffet style that's free but also a separate menu if you would like to order something specific. Lorenzo was the bartender in the evening who both him and Sharom spoke english and were very helpful! Lorenzo could brighten up anyones day with his smile and drive towards life! He was kind and had many recommendations of what to do while we stayed on the island. He also made us concoctions of our desire with no questions. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful with every need. We will be back and we look forward to seeing the great Lorenzo, Sharom, Marisol and Mariono again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

"Good place"
Airmax95everday, 21 Juillet 2018

The hotel is okay, everything is good. At night near the bar it is a cool place to dance with other people. One of the bartenders named Adolfo made sure I had a good time letting know about much of the city and making good drinks while doing so. Ended up having a great time!

"Amazing time"
katharinakbaum, 18 Juillet 2018

What a great time! The location was amazing! We were close to the beach (other side of the street) best salsa place on town right next day (only on Friday though) and still close enough to town to be able to walk but without the town notices. We had so much fun surfing for the first time and marisol, the lady at the front desk, helped us out so much to plan every day throughout our stay :) Definitely coming back!!

"Love it here!"
BarryHaun, 03 Juillet 2018

Amazing views, good food and a fun surf break right across the street! The staff is super accommodating and very nice, I can highly recommend staying here. Try and get a room above the gym, the views can't be beat!

"Great experience"
Jonathan R, 20 Juin 2018

I loved the place. The price was incredible for an ocean view. They had ladies night the next night which was extremely fun. And dj during the day playing reggae. My family and i enjoyed it very much. Shout out to jennifer at reception for being so welcoming and kind. And sharon i believe is her name at the restaurant. Was very outgoing and friendly. We didnt want to leave. Thank you staff at best western for giving us a great experience:)

"Good location, clean rooms in Tamarindo"
Tom M, 14 Juin 2018

Best Western Tamarindo offers a nice location on the hill above the main street. Walkable to everywhere in Tamarindo. Rooms are clean and many have ocean views. The bar/restaurant area is next to the pool, and has a reputation for being a very happening place on Friday night, but was very quiet on the two nights I stayed there earlier in the week. Staff very friendly. Would stay here again.

"AMAZING"
Taylor H, 07 Juin 2018

I had such a great stay at Best Western. The atmosphere was so much fun and all the workers were so nice. I felt safe the entire time and was able to make the best of my time. The breakfast had the best fresh pineapple, watermelon, coffee and variety of juices. The pool was such a great spot to relax after the beach which is just across the street. The bedrooms had amazing AC (which I loved) and the beds were so comfortable. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean and we were able to watch amazing sunrises and sunsets. Not to forget the crazy monkey bar! Such a great bar at the hotel and poolside! Definitely recommend best western! Last side note: VERY CLEAN!

"The perfect spot!!! "
MissouriBcnurseiam, 07 Juin 2018

My daughter and I stayed at the Best Western for a week! We stayed in the Corona Suite and it was more than enough room for us! It had a huge living area w/ kitchen amenities- a double sofa and an incredible balcony overlooking the gorgeous ocean! The views at sunset were amazing!!! We scheduled our surf lessons w/ Eric who sits down at the bar area every day from 8-10am! He was super knowledgeable about surfing and gave us fantastic lessons! I would definitely recommend talking to him while u are here! He also rents out free beach equipment- chairs, snorkels, fins, soccer balls etc! The staff at the BW were super! We loved Jason & Sherom (not sure I spelled that right). Jenny and MaryCruz at the Reception were so kind and very helpful w/ all of our questions!! Breakfast is also included which was great for our budget!! The fresh fruit is to die for!!! It's gated each evening and a guard is out there all night which made me feel super safe!! This is also a great location to walk EVERYWHERE!!!! We walked over 37 miles in a week and loved it all!!! Thanks for being a home away from home!!

"Great location, staff and value!"
abs0lutev, 31 Mai 2018

Initially when I was thinking beach vacation I thought "all-inclusive" and I am so happy I found this place instead. You cannot beat the price of this hotel period. We upgraded to an ocean view with our own little patio and the entire week was less then one night at many other spots. The backpacker in me was excited to have the extra funds to explore. The location is just on the edge of the city limits, however Tamarindo is a 15 min walk though the entire town. It sits on a hill and there are a lot of stairs to climb but it gives you a better view! Also, you do have to cross the only road in town to get to the beach but it is still so close. Our room set up through me off as the bed was in the middle of the room facing the ocean, with the incredible view it ended up making sense. The air conditioning worked well but the hot water did not. We had one hot shower all week, which you got used to the cold shower with the 90+ heat. The highlight for us was the staff who were always warm and welcoming, especially Yaison. He gave us a fantastic welcome to Costa Rica and is very passionate about having tourists enjoy is country. He was a wealth of information and very genuine. He introduced us to what would become our favorite National beer, Pilzen, gave advice on tours and made sure we said hi to "Godzilla," the giant Iquana that lived in the tree next door. The way the pool and bar is set up is perfect and when you did not want to be tossed around in the ocean you still had a great view and a bar stool in the pool. Once again the value was unbeatable and it was nice to know it is gated and secured at night. I highly recommend it to anyone that prefers their own adventure, especially since you get free surf, boogie board, kayak, rentals etc. from the surf shop ;-) And when you hear a crazy guttural, those are just the Howler Monkeys in the trees on the property.

"Fantastic hospitality"
Karen P, 30 Mai 2018

Stayed here for a few days when i was in Tamarindo or vacation. The Hotel was good, worth the price. The pool was amazing but the best was the staff there, namely speaking, Maricruz Castro. She was a charm and she made my stay in Tamarindo a memorable one. She suggested all the best places to eat in town. All the best and worthwhile tours to take on. Ways to go around for a perfect Costa Rican experience. If you are planning to stay at the Best Western Tamarindo, be sure to ask for Maricruz! Karen Peter

"Surpringly good experience"
BarryDowns, 22 Mai 2018

We had a day to kill before the villa we reserved in Montezuma would be free for us to occupy so ... we booked in at the Best Western in Tamarindo ... what a fabulous experience! The price was very reasonable .. the rooms were fine. The gym/workout room was adequate. The location was fine. The pool and swim up bar area were outstanding. The breakfast buffet was good. The staff were very friendly and professional. All in all I would be more than happy to return!

"For the right price"
pmickey, 08 Mai 2018

The hotel is on a hill like everyone said and there are stairs everwhere, don't stay here if you have problems with stairs, the first night we where in a room that we could touch all four walls by lying down in the bed, they changed our room and that room was nice , kitchen small fridge, and sitting area, the wifi is not great but it works, on and off, the beds are really hard so if you need a softer bed don't stay here, the breakfast like everyone said is the same every day, no changes , over all if you can get the larger rooms for a cheap price book it other wise book somewhere else.

"Relaxing "
Preston S, 27 Avril 2018

We stayed for 7 days and was so fun , served free breakfast every morning and was really good, our room was really nice and had everything we needed! Free beach equipment and surf lessons available on site! Eric gave us surf lessons at the beginning of our stay and we were able to surf for free the rest of the week!

"Sharom is awesome!"
Denis F, 26 Avril 2018

Sharom is the best barmaid in Tamarindo! We like her! She is caring and gives awesome service, always with a smile on her face! She has a lot of energy and spreads good vibes all around? Puurrrrrraaa viiidddaa!

"This place is amazing. The people make the place special! Everyone feels like family."
Travis G, 16 Avril 2018

I didn't know what to expect from a Best Western but this place far exceeded my expectations. It has a great location and wildlife frequent the area, which is great to see. They really give back to the local community as well with hosting events for local people, hosting a local band and DJ every Friday night (best party in town), and having a beautiful mural painted by local artists on the wall of their staircase. The people make this place so special. Mari Cruz and Jennifer at the front desk were great at answering all of our questions and helping us with our needs and concerns. They were very pleasant and professional. If we needed anything, they were on it immediately. Jason and Jose at the monkey bar were very hard workers and did an amazing job at recommending food and drinks. We would see them working the bar at night and then again at breakfast, and they still had smiles on their faces They were both very kind and super helpful. Even the security guards were very friendly and loved to talk with you. We are going to be sad when we leave this place. It feels like we are leaving family.

"Really Enjoyed It. Clean and Super Staff"
halbeandip, 15 Avril 2018

Clean room, very patient, polite and helpful staff. Included morning breakfast was great. (Be sure to use the salsa on everything, it rocks.) Guarded parking was a relief not to worry about the car. Located close enough to walk to the beach with a board and not be too tired to get in the water when you got there, but on the edge of the busier parts of town which nicely made it a bit quieter for sleeping after a sun-up to sundown day of full-on activity. (Nobody paid me to give a good review!) PS - it's Costa Rica, so don't be in a hurry.

"Disappointing!"
JPIECOTE1, 14 Avril 2018

Hotel on a major hill, so you need to be in good shape to access your room. Minuscule front desk located beside the gated entrance, in the parking lot. Extremely small room, without any storage space for clothes. Room space wasted with plastic flowers in a big concrete flowerbox filled with rocks. Good AC, bathroom of good size. No towels or face cloth provided, even when asked in person at the front desk just after arrival. The queen size bed was not very good; only a single size blanket was available, there was a gap between the bed and the wall where the pillow was constantly falling in it. Breakfast was poor; very limited food selection, there were tea bags but no hot water available, only coffee. The pool was totally contaminated, very cloudy and green, I would not even dare dipping my feet in it. The surrounding patio had no shade or umbrella and was very hot. Tamarindo appears to be very americanized and the Costarican spirit and culture was lacking. Staff in restaurants would not even speak to you in spanish with menu only in english. Access to ocean easy, once you come down from the hill. In short, it is a low grade 3 star hotel, not a Best Western as we see them in Canada or the States.

"Jason at the monkey bar"
Adam S, 11 Avril 2018

We had a very pleasant stay with 3 young children. Jason was helpful and playful with the kids amd made great drinks for us. He would be a great leader. I am sure he will also make a great father too. Pura Vida from Canada

"Worse than expected"
Wanman34, 31 Mars 2018

Check-in at a small shack at the bottom of a hill near the main road. Waited over 25 min. to check in and then was told we don't have your reservation. Showed them my conf.# and they still could not find. Our reservation was for an "Ocean View" room. After the 40 min. experience to check in and resolve the missing reservation we carried our luggage to our assigned room which was not an ocean view. My wife and I had 3 suitcases plus 2 backpacks in which we carried up a steep hill about 100 yards to that room. Looks like the hotel has no staff or means for assisting with luggage. Went back down the hill to the check-in shack and showed them where we reserved and ocean view room. They did make the adjustment to an ocean view suite which was nice but then we had to carry our luggage up an additional hill to get to that room. Let me add that the route in which we carried our own luggage is gravel and dirt, so there was no rolling a suitcase option.

"Better than expected and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"
Shane M, 28 Mars 2018

I don't usually take the time to write a review online but decided that I needed to go "above and beyond" just like the folks at Best Western hotel did. I stayed there with my wife and 2 daughters for almost 2 weeks in January. Everything was amazing and better than I ever expected. Every employee was wonderful, pleasant, and accommodating but I wanted to personally mention Adolfo and Mari Cruz for all of their additional efforts to make our vacation a truly wonderful and memorable one! The rooms were bigger than expected, with more amenities than expected. My whole family ended up getting the flu on the plane ride there which would have made it the worst trip ever if it wasn't for all of the help we received from the staff. The air conditioning was ice cold, the showers had endless hot water, the towels and bedding were clean and abundant, the kitchen had every cooking utensil/pans/plates/silverware/etc, the rooms were quiet, the hotel bar/restaurant served excellent food, the complimentary breakfast was a delectable feast - Everything was amazing. They also helped me with the language barrier for things such as a pharmacy, grocery store, the best restaurants, local attractions, transportation and excursions such as zip-lining, deep-sea fishing, and a catamaran cruise. They also provide free amenities I never expected such as beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, etc. I should mention again how amazing the complimentary breakfast was in addition to every other meal and experience! This vacation is one of my favorite vacations ever and it would not have been possible without the "above and beyond" service my family and I received from the Best Western. Thank you all!!! I'll see you again as soon as I can!

"Excellent location and stay!!!"
Carlos M, 25 Mars 2018

Stole away to Tamarindo after a business trip to San Jose. Excellent rooms, view, location and service. Sharom who seemingly does it all at the bar and dining area is a treasure and makes you feel like family from the moment you sit down by the pool. Her quality of service is felt throughout the property. It's a perfect balance of “chill” and attentiveness. Would definitely stay here again.

"Wonderful experience"
Olivia N, 24 Mars 2018

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Best Western for one week and absolutely loved it. To save those who are looking at reviews some time, I would really only recommend a hotel like this to younger couples or people who don't mind having the basics in a hotel, it's not a luxury resort. There are lots of hills and stairs you have to walk up to get to your room if it's not in the 100's range so don't book here if you're ADA or need an elevator. They had free breakfast every morning (toast, eggs, rice/beans, cereal). The hotel has some beautiful views, a great pool and is so close to the center of town and not a far walk from Arenas which is the town over. I would say our only complaint was the food at the restaurant there left our stomachs a little unsettled so we only at there twice and the fact that all the floors are made with some type of laminate tile (inside and out) so it was a little slippery walking around. If we ever come back to this area of Costa Rica we would definitely stay here again :)

"Don't Understand the Bad Reviews"
papi22207, 19 Mars 2018

I am coming to the end of a nine day stay at this hotel. I paid $58.77 a night, including taxes, for a basic room that was clean, tidy, had perfectly functioning air conditioning and WiFi - and looks exactly like the photos on the website. The price also includes a full breakfast and a perfectly fine beach chair to schlepp to the beach. For folks not in the know, the beach chairs available for rent on the beach are $10 a day (although they come with umbrellas) so getting a decent beach chair at your hotel for free is not nothing. As for the breakfast, it is buffet style and consists of scrambled eggs, pancakes, rice and beans, cereal, a small assortment of fruit, juice, coffee, and toast. Again, perfectly fine and convenient and it's great for your budget not to pay for breakfast. In my experience, most of the restaurants within walking distance are not all that more imaginative with the menus and are generally not cheap. The pool area was never overly crowded when I was there, including on weekends. It is absolutely true that the pool is open to the public and that there will be locals there, but it is not true that a local will show up and buy a pizza and bring a bunch of beer with him or her and 20 friends and take over the pool. At least not in my experience. In fact, I have to say, it is the foreigners who misbehave more at the pool than the locals because the foreigners are more likely to be 20 somethings in raging party mode. The locals are often there with their children, and what is the harm in that? But, to be clear, neither the foreigners nor the locals were a problem for me. Most folks were perfectly well behaved. When I first arrived to the hotel in the late afternoon and saw the pool, I did think that it looked a little dirty - as some bad reviews have noted -and I wondered about its state of cleanliness. But the following morning I saw it being well cleaned with my own eyes and it looked much better. It is very difficult to keep a pool so close to the beach looking clean and clear, because many folks do not rinse off beach sand adequately before getting in the pool. But beach sand does not make a pool unhealthy. It just makes it a little murky. As others have noted, Friday night is “ladies night” at the crazy monkey bar, which is directly adjacent to the pool and some of the rooms. And, yes, it is loud and the party lasts well into the night. This may be complete turn off for some potential guests, but it is what it is and it's not going to change. Management has clearly made a calculation that they are better off financially having ladies night and risking irritating some guests than they are in canceling the event to keep all their guests happy. Plus the event itself is actually very fun. Typically there is a live band performing Latin music, and watching the locals dance much better than the foreigners is an interesting cultural experience. Other than Fridays, the crazy monkey bar is practically deserted and closes early. It is also true that one has to climb many steps to get to the rooms (70 to be exact), but the reward is a beautiful view in a great location for a reasonable price. There are no hotels directly on the beach in this area with remotely similar views at this price. Bottom line: the hotel is a Best Western, not the Ritz. My sense is that many of the poor reviews are based on guests' unreasonable and unrealistic expectations for a three star hotel in Costa Rica. No, they are not going to carry your luggage to your room for you. No, they are not going to offer you a chef's breakfast. Yes, you may have to tolerate those pesky locals at the pool and on ladies night. But the Best Western is a town favorite for a reason, and I highly recommend it.

"Rustic but lacks of TLC"
Garry D, 18 Mars 2018

The hotel is well strategically located however, it is old and poorly maintained. I was shocked to see 1 person jumping in the swimming pool one day while the water was obviously not cleaned. The rooms were much smaller than expected and the bathroom in my room was not properly cleaned. The continental breakfast was a disaster and lacks creativity. The bed sheets were the worst I have seen and God knows that I visited more than 70 countries. If I ever go back to Tamarindo, Best Western will certainly not be on my list.

"Not like the pictures and very noisy!! Horrible experience!!"
Harry F, 11 Mars 2018

We had booked this hotel for 8 nights and had to leave after 4 nights of trying to put up with all of the construction noise and party noise. First off this hotel is not like the pictures from many many years ago show. It is not on the beach but down many flights of stairs and across the busy road then across a large lot to get to the beach. The pool is very crowded and gets completely overtaken by 20 something year old kids that are not guests of the hotel on the weekends. They let anybody use the pool on the weekends if they buy a pizza at the open restaurant, so you have 30 kids that bring their own beer and buy two pizzas and take over the pool all afternoon on the weekends. Fridays the pool and open air restaurant have a loud, (Mexican techno music), party that lasts until 2:30 am!!!! Good luck sleeping through that! Something they don't show in their photos is the parking for the Premium rooms. It looks like a junk yard! Check out my pictures of the parking area. Junk cars, junk motorhome and a completely dilapidated building. And one final kick in the nuts, they never stated ANYTHING about construction of a whole new unit going in immediately in front of our unit???? Full on construction crews with heavy equipment working from 8am until 7pm every day, including Sunday. We called Booking.com and got the hell out of there. Do yourself a big favor and find somewhere else to stay! Maybe even a place that's quite, considerate and doesn't fool you with photos of the place from 20 years ago.

"rustic chic...great place to stay on a budget"
Trice T, 08 Mars 2018

This is my first time in Costa Rica and at this hotel. We had an oceanview from our clean basic room which was awesome. I really enjoyed the people who work there who were very nice and helpful to all of us who were here traveling as a group. Everyone here has been trying to make sure my group was taken care of. I'm looking forward to coming back to Costa Rica and staying again at this property.

"Good location, old hotel"
937ricardoalbertog, 25 Février 2018

We arrived early at the Hotel and the front desk is located on the parking lot. Then we went to have lunch while they work on our rooms. Finally when we check in, the rooms where little in space, the tv was located on the side and it all seems to be old. The pool are is better but the water looks not so clean. The breakfast could be better. Definitely we think there could be better places to stay. The attention was good.

"Great experience - The place to stay in Tamarindo"
RicardoHernanG, 21 Février 2018

We returned to this hotel after many years and it's obvious they have improved a lot over the years on many aspects. We stayed at their new rooms and loved them, the ocean views are gorgeous, the rooms are very comfortable and fresh and give a sense of serenity that made us feel good. The hotel staff were outstanding. Since minute one on reception Eve, Marisol and Adolfo were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome, they did not rush at all and were very clear on the information and how available they were for anything special they could do for us. Friday nights they have great parties at the Crazy Monkey bar and during the afternoon sunsets Sharon and Adrian at the bar engage on the good vibe and environment and make every person present there have a good time. I highly recommend staying at the Vista Villas, great location, good food, good place to party and be close to your room, nice pool and great views. Definitely my pick to stay there again when I return.

"Terrible ... just terrible "
Derek F, 18 Février 2018

Do not go here if you have a family! The view and pool are nice but that's where the positives end. We went here near the end of our vacation for two relaxing nights ... what we ended up with was one relaxing night and a party til after 230 am. They do have a disclaimer saying they have a party every Friday but it's o lot suppose to go until 230 am, but when we stayed the music and drunks were loud until about 4. We then woke up the next morning to broken beer bottles outside our room. We asked for a discount because of our issues and were not given anything.

"Fantastic location, good room, bad food"
Viktor S, 18 Février 2018

Our double room was comfortable and well kept. We had a fantastic view of the ocean and birds of pray soaring above the trees. The staff was friendly and helpful but unfortunately the hotel kitchen was not the best. The included breakfast did not offer much to choose from and was not very fresh. Luckily Tamarindo has many great places to eat, all within walking distance. Salty Sol Surf School associated with the hotel offered great lessons on a discount for guests. On top of that you can borrow surf boards for free. Overall we had a great time!

"Great time at Best Western Tamarindo"
Candice K, 16 Février 2018

Had a great time at the Best Western Tamarindo for my first time in Costa Rica. Perfect location and friendly staff. Thanks to Eve, Marisol, Maricruz, Adolfo, Sgarom, and Adrian for taking care of our group! Tip: Use the hotel laundry service! They had my clothes back within a day and did a wonderful job.

"Perfect for us."
Byron D, 16 Février 2018

We have stayed at Best Western on many occasions and choose this location because it offers affordable rates. We love to rent the Corona Suite (301) with the wrap around balcony over looking the pool. On Friday nights there is a party that goes until 2:30 in the morning but your patio is the perfect place to watch it. The Corona Suite offers King size bed, AC, Flat screen tv, Separate kitchen from bedroom and a spacious bath. You have closets to hang up your clothes and a safe to put your valuables. This hotel is located across the road from the beach with direct beach access. You do have to walk up a bunch of stairs to get to most of the hotel rooms and the restaurant. We have no problems going up the stairs but I would say that people with mobility issues would want to stay on lower level rooms. Adolfo is the main reason why we rent rooms here. He is always keen on helping us with everything that we need. Eve is great too! We recently rented 5 rooms total for our group and everything went smoothly. Thanks to Sharom and Adrian at the bar for mixing us great happy hour drinks. Its also worth mentioning that Marisol and Maricruz in Reception we're able to help me with anything that I need. With realistic expectations of this property, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Ask if you can get one of their brand new rooms.

"Great location"
Wschlaf, 14 Février 2018

The location is great, right across from the beach and you can walk to all the shops and restaurants. We were in room 208 which had an ocean view. It was nice with a table and chairs outside the room to enjoy the view. Checking in took awhile because several people were there at the same time but not a big deal. The breakfast is included which is nice. The pool is lively in the afternoon with families and young singles. We enjoyed our stay.

"Budget Friendly"
celinanjimenez15, 12 Février 2018

My husband called this hotel before hand to ask about the rates. The man on the phone told him $50 a night. When we arrived at the hotel the woman tried to charge us $75. My husband is from Costa Rica, but he is very light and most people thought he was American. So we quickly realized what the woman at the front was trying to do. Besides that, the hotel was what you pay for. The was no hot water, which is typical for Costa Rica. It was clean, there were no bugs, and it was very quiet during the night once the pools closed. I loved the experience I had in Tamarindo, and if I returned I would consider this hotel.

"Good value with reservations "
cdcalnan, 04 Février 2018

Great location, interesting tiered layout, clean rooms, reasonably priced with secure parking, BUT: Don't take a room near the pool unless you want to be awakened early(!) by Central American version of techno disco with the bass cranked; and, be careful as whatever product they're using to keep the glazed floor tiles clean makes them treacherously slippery.

"Skip the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas"
Allison C, 02 Février 2018

We were very disappointed in this property. It is definitely not a hotel, more like a motel. The only good thing I can say is the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. There were many negatives: rooms were tiny. They could basically fit little more than a queen bed. Very little amenities supplied in the room. The outside of the property needs a major overhaul! It is really dilapidated. The chairs they had for free to bring to the beach were broken, filthy & rusty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I can't understand how anyone gives this place a good or great review! We were here December 30-January 1 and paid way more than this place is worth!

"Over priced! "
Su-Ra85, 28 Janvier 2018

We stayed here for 3 nights and I have to say that I was disappointed! I'll preface the review by saying that the staff we came across were all pretty friendly, but not particularly helpful with bags during check in etc (thou maybe this is not part of the service?) For the price we paid, I expected a bit more quality than what we received: - The pool area was full of people that didn't seem to be staying there. It didn't quite resemble the pictures we saw online but was a bit more older and run down in comparison. - the wifi keeps dropping out every 5 minutes. This is not even an exaggeration and needs to be reconnected, which is extremely frustrating! - the sliding door to the sitting area outside did not lock at all and only the chain latch was functional (which is better than nothing!) - the door frame for the entry door isn't sealed so the light (and noise) from the corridor spills in at night - the sliding door to the back isn't fully sealed when closed, the room is riddled with mosquitoes as a result - the bathroom is dark and dingy. There was a stench coming from the drains which either subsided or we must have gotten used to it - the door entry keys continually need resetting at the reception - house keeping staff are super loud and not particularly considerate of the people who may be in the rooms Good: - good sized room - air con and fan available in the room which meant we didn't have to have air con all day to stay cool - good views - decent gym Unfortunately I wouldn't return nor would I recommend to anyone, unless some big changes are made.

"Spent two nights there"
Linda D, 27 Janvier 2018

Everyone was very pleasant, the rooms were beautiful, we had a view of the ocean, they had boogie boards we could borrow, the breakfast was delicious sitting down overlooking the pool. I would definitely return there.

"Nicest place we stayed in last two weeks. Everything was perfect."
Bruce G, 27 Janvier 2018

We rented a room with two queen beds for two nights. It was very clean, Shower worked wonderful, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great. I see why it has Best Western in its name. It is of the best quality of everything as all the best westerns we have stayed in.

"noise, noise, noise"
AJAXCHIN, 27 Janvier 2018

If you stay here, the ungodly noise form the bar is inescapable, especially on Friday nights. Nothing will help, no even earplugs. Forewarned-proceed at your own risk. This outweighs location and views.

"The Epitome of A Three Star Hotel"
GOTOPhotography, 26 Janvier 2018

So upon arrival to our hotel from our redeye flight we are advised that checkin is 3pm and that is a firm situation. The receptionist says she will hold our luggage so we don't question leaving it with her. I assume that perhaps it will be brought to our room later when we finally check in - wrong. We return several hours later to check in and notice that our luggage is still basically sitting where we left it, albeit tucked away behind a banner advertising some type of jungle tour. Here is where we started running into problems. The receptionist tells me that their key card reader is not working so their maintenance man will have to manually open the door for us, she says he is waiting for you on the second floor. I say great, and my wife and I proceed to carry our heavy luggage up a hill and two staircases, it's hot and muggy and I just want a beer. 15 minutes later the maintenance man arrives and tells us that we have been given a different room because there was a problem with our first room. We get a better room than we booked but we have no key. Then once the key is fixed the AC breaks. We spent the rest of our trip with no AC and I actually have a video of a piece of ice literally falling out of the unit. The Crazy Monkey Bar is loud but honestly, we were on the opposite side of the hotel so it didn't bother us at all. Also, beware of creepy locals during ladies night at the monkey bar. Bathroom was small overall and looked rundown. Never stepped foot in the pool. People were nice but offered nothing in exchange for our troubles, didn't even comp the $30 meal we charged to the room. After basically having to ask permission to enter our room for several days, no AC, and can't forget the toilet that overflowed, I left disappointed & will not return here when I return to Tamarindo in the future. There are several other hotels closer to the center of town that are similarly priced and have better amenities. My friends actually rented a room with us and they got the family room and they were very underwhelmed and actually attempted to checkout but found no vacancies at any of the close hotels. If you're coming to Tamarindo to surf and be a beach bum, this hotel offers what you're looking for and then some. If you've come to Tamarindo to have a relaxing stay that includes spending time at your hotel, it's best to find somewhere else to spend your money.

"BETTER THAN EXPECTED"
anna11111, 25 Janvier 2018

I was a bit reluctant due to negative reviews but i tried out this hotel, of course the rooms could do with an upgrade and some things are really old but it did not affect my confort, the bed was good, the airco and safe worked and the bathroom was functional Having stayed in several hotels in Costa Rica i had gotten used to hotels being run by amateurs, and, although service in Costa Rica will hardly ever compare with the US or even Europe, which does not seem to matter really because of the beauty of the country ,it often feels like everyone is on vacation, management, personnel and yes, also you , but not so in this hotel. I found that least here things were run profesionnally , Personnel was very friendly, helpful, knowledgable and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was included and for once i was not forced in to the choice between staying hungry or filling myself with rice and beans , bread was not rationed like in most other places, there were good scrambled eggs and even pancakes and cheese I only regret that i had to disturb the waitress for hot water for my tea, she willingly brought it but i think i may be nicer just to have it on the buffet Maybe there is a reason for it though since everything else seems to be rational The only other point is that the great view by the top comes at the price of hefty stairs ,unavoidable, but may be dificult for people trouble walking thanks to the staff for making my stay enjoyable, thanks for the unseen people behind the scene to train the staff so well.

"Great location, helpful staff, wonderful stay!"
Sarah S, 22 Janvier 2018

I'm not sure why there have been so many negative reviews about this hotel. We had an incredible stay here for our honeymoon. We stayed in a jungle room for one week and it was beautiful. The perfect place to relax after a long day of enjoying all that Tamarindo has to offer. The staff is so friendly and helpful about scheduling any type of tour you want to take. Some staff don't speak the best English, so you may have to wait for help with another staff member who can speak better English, but if you speak Spanish you will be fine. The food was excellent at the Crazy Monkey too, the hotel's bar and restaurant. I recommend the Guaro Sour drink and the calamari with rice. The bar tenders were so much fun and we learned a lot about the Costa Rican culture from them. The hotel is in a great location, with just a short walk across the street to the beach access or to the main road to check out the restaurants and shops in downtown Tamarindo. There are surfboards, SUPs, snorkel gear and other items to rent free. They even offer surf lessons with a $35 fee. The hotel is clean, on beautiful grounds with gardens, amazing views of the Pacific and estuary. The gym is great too if you want to get a nice workout in. As far as the big party on Friday nights, the music is loud but is not unbearable. We had a room opposite the restaurant right by the parking area so it didn't bother us at all. They even offer complimentary ear plugs for light sleepers. I think it's great that the community gets together to dance and have fun meeting one another! I highly recommend this hotel and would come back in a heartbeat!

"Pictures are deceiving "
Trina C, 20 Janvier 2018

We ALMOST stayed here for our trip to Tamarindo. We ended up staying at a small place located right in town that was basically a dream. We stopped by The Best Western to see if we made the right choice and because the pictures of the pool looked better than the pool at the place we ended up staying at. In short, we couldn't believe the pool area and hotel were the same place we saw online. It was somewhat dirty and depressing, no one was at the bar or pool that looked they were actually vacationing there. We also didn't have any reservation and just parked and walked right up...so if you want a secure place reconsider this. We thought perhaps if you didn't know how good other hotels in the area are this place may seem okay...but it gets so much better! The price is slightly lower than other options but not by much. Also, you are outside of true Tamarindo and it's a hefty walk to get to the heart of the town. Just an FYI for everyone out there on the fence! Happy traveling!

"Terrible Service"
Mariela Y, 13 Janvier 2018

The worse experience with a hotel I ever had No customer service skills, horrible food. They are never available when you need them. They offer more things than what's available. Make sure you have a plan B as the place does not offer the quality as the Best Western Hotels in United States

"Bad service and horrible pool..."
Patrizio R, 31 Décembre 2017

We stayed for Christmas and New Year's Eve. The room was small, but clean and had a gorgeous view. The staff was unfriendly and completely disorganized... the pool had green water and weird spots on the floor. I didn't even put a foot in that water... overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It was nice to be so close to the town and the beach, but the poor organization and the pool put me off this place completely.

"Terrible"
Gwendolyn M, 30 Décembre 2017

This hotel is pretty close to the main strip which is good. However there is a lot more bad than good . The bathrooms are pretty gross. There are windows above the shower but no curtain. The couch cushion covers look like they haven't been washed in a century and are very dated. On the first day, our balcony smelled of cigar smoke. It looked like the maids just swept dust into the corners which made the ugly blue tiles look even worse. There were spider webs above the shower. Also, for almost a whole day, we couldn't get into our room because our cards didn't work. We had nothing but excuses and attitude from the staff. The issue started just after breakfast (around 8:30) and wasn't resolved until a few hours after lunch (3:00 or 4:00). The same issue happened to some family that was visiting the country with us. On the the last night, the hotel hosted a massive club like party with the music turned up full blast. The music was so loud that the bass rattled the cabinets in our second story room. We would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness or sleep.

"The good, the bad and the ugly"
lpmcguire, 29 Décembre 2017

Good: location - easy access to walk up/down the strip in Tamarindo Bad: Internet connection is S-L-O-W (this page took two minutes to load) and regularly fails Water pressure is L-O-W. A bare trickle Hot water is not very not. I had on hottest setting without any cold at all for every shower I took Keys to room didn't work and had to be replaced multiple times One time took over half a day. Yikes Friday night party (EVERY FRIDAY) 10-2:30AM. My cabinets rattled from the bass and I was most of the way to the other side of property Ugly: 1970s/1980s decor and fixtures. Some things have been updated, but they are few (like bathroom sink) Beat up cabinetry and scuffs on walls Overall, this was a poor value. I have stayed all over the world in 1st-3rd world nations and have rarely paid prices as high for my supposed premium room for so little. Given in 2nd World or less I would have expected far far better. I feel like I am staying at a cheap college hotel for Spring Break kids.

"Very good location and pet friendly"
Edwin H, 19 Décembre 2017

Very good price, staff is friendly and helpful. We get this option because is pet friendly. Is a good value for money, do not expect a fancy hotel. Its located in the main tamarindo road, so you can walk to the center if you want to go out for dinner or whatever you want to do :)

"Expected to much"
Stephen R, 09 Décembre 2017

The stairs were nothing short of an accomplishment to go up and down every day. Food was adequate but better values and quality can be found in town by talking to people in the area. Staff was great and the bartender Sosa was helpful in explaining available options in the area.

"Good value"
Mstraha, 07 Décembre 2017

Our "Ocean View" room was something of a disappointment. The immediate view off the balcony was of a former part of the hotel that was demolished. Very unsightly. The ocean was visible in the distance, through the trees, but the scene was dominated by the debris below. The room was good, and had both a ceiling fan and A/C, so we were comfortable. The hotel has wi-fi, so we were able to stay connected. It's within easy walking distance from the beach shops and such, so no problem there, though there are no sidewalks and traffic can be heavy. You have to cross the street to get to the beach. We loved the swimming pool; it has a waterfall and an upper pool that you can swim in. The swim-up bar shades part of the pool, which was a big plus for us trying to stay out of the direct sun for a bit.

"Muy mala experiencia - bad experience "
Jasonges, 18 Novembre 2017

Malísimo hotel, caro, baños con olor a excremento, 0 servicio al cliente, habitaciones muy pequeñas, piso sucio, no habían sillas para sentarse, muy viejo. Very bad hotel, expensive, bathrooms with bad odor like a crap , 0 customer service, very small rooms, dirty floor, there weren't chairs around the pool, very old hotel

"Booked room was occupied by construction workers"
Daniel C, 17 Novembre 2017

When I got to my room there where back packs and towels of some construction workers of the hotel, clearly this generated serious security concerns for my family. I was relocated to another room which was below what we call basic, located next to the noisy bar of the hotel. Cleaning standards are not good either. I would not stay here again and wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone. With a few more dollars you can find something significantly better.

"AWFUL Room!"
Zain K, 13 Novembre 2017

Our room was right next to a drive way about 20 meters from the reception (which seems to be literally a tiny guard house by the way). Every time a car drove by there was a loud noise of the gutter rattling; so I pretty much woke up about a dozen times from just that. Bed seemed to be broken. Fridge was broken. TV screen was broken (20% of the screen was not working), there was no phone, no internet, etc. It was also not very clean. Easily the worst room at a BW I've stay in...

"BASIC! View is the only decent thing about this hotel."
Shi C, 12 Novembre 2017

No blankets on the beds, rang and asked for one and they essentially gave us a throw blanket, not a duvet onsite at all. Had to put 3 together just to be comfortable at night. Breakfast was very basic compared to everywhere else we stayed, even the hostel down the road had much better food options. No bar fridge in the room and when we rang for ice, the machine was broken. Asked for pool towels and got the response "sorry, we've run out, they're in the laundry" what hotel ever runs out of towels! Besides the view, this place had to be the worst run hotel we could have stayed in.

"Doesn't Meet Expectations"
John I, 17 Octobre 2017

This hotel was very basic. The rooms were very basic, bed was very uncomfortable. Food was poor at best. Went to have pizza the last night and they were out of cheese and only had about 4 things on the menu. There was no formal reception and you had to bring bags up a long hill driveway and they put us above the staff quarters so had 30 stairs to climb to get there. Each time we left we had a total of 95 stairs to climb up and down to get to the road. Nice location walkable to everywhere in town. I would not recommend this place.

"Had a great time"

Everything here was top notch, from the ease of checkin to the friendly staff we were treated like royalty. We were so impressed we booked for the same time next year. Cant wait to return for another fantastic vacation

"Ocean view suites in August"
tommy202020, 13 Août 2017

Well located. 2 mins. Walk from beach. The kitchen suite had all the necessary for cooking and a very nice view of the beach. Beware of the friday party, you will not be able to sleep until at least 1h00 AM but we knew that and we went to the party and enjoy it. The offer free surf rental and other stuff for the beach. 24h/24h security guard. I recommand

"Great stay"
S7387FRsalvatoreg, 05 Août 2017

This is my 3rd time at this hotel. I love the convience of where this hotel is located.Great staff very friendly great views. Overall experience is great. Only downfall. Is the breakfast needs to be reamped. You can go to a local spot longboards and pay 6 dollars and have a great meal. I really do wish they had more of a selection with the breakfast ,but other than that place is great!

"ROOMS SMELL LIKE CIGARETTES"
Elaine S, 29 Juin 2017

this hotel is the typical example of lying with good pictures in the internet.. smells like cigarretes in an ashtray...i will upload real photos of ocean view rooms.... do yourself a favor and dont come here... i am super dissapointed in the rooms,,, they are dirty... bathrooms are tiny and whoever decorated them and thought making this bed was right for this room really doesnt know about space and moving around comfortably...

"Dreamed Vacations"
Alonso C, 01 Juin 2017

I stayed at Tamarindo Vista Villas with my family and we all loved it, the staff are very friendly, Adolfo from reservations gave me the information I needed to take a decision to stay there, at the hotel we met Stephanie Maricruz and Marisol from the front desk they helped us making suggestions about tours and things to do and see. Evelyn help clean the room she was always smiling. We felt very welcomed relaxed and happy, I'm looking forward to another vacations there!

"Good value"
Jennifer B, 01 Juin 2017

We stayed in the Tropical Suite with 3 adults, a toddler, and a baby. It was very roomy and had a full kitchen. The views from the balcony and pool were fabulous, and the staff was friendly. The free breakfast was also very nice and plentiful. My only complaints would be the massive amount of bugs in the room (I understand that some are to be expected in a tropical climate) and that we didn't have water for a couple of hours one day. If you're looking for luxury this is not your place. If you want a nice, affordable place, close to town and a surf break, I definitely recommend this hotel! *the photo is a view from the balcony

" Visited in 2002"
parischick, 15 Mai 2017

I came here 15 years ago with my brother and it was one of the most amazing trips I had. Granted a lot can happen in 15 years so I'm actually not sure if my review still applies. We drove from San Jose and arrived late at night. We got a room with 2 large beds (at least queen or maybe even king). And the price was very reasonable. There was a lounge area where you could sit and just gaze into the dark sky with million stars. I'm from Los Angeles and never get to see stars due to city lights so this was amazing. The room was huge with stone tile floor. It was impeccably clean. The balcony overlooked the ocean with nearby peninsula and small island, like a dream. It was something out of Jurassic Park - actually I think the movie might have been filmed here. The place where we ate breakfast was open to the nature and there were many beautiful colorful birds. Some of them would come and take your food haha. It was harmless though. The beach was secluded. We were there in April and there was barely anyone. The drive from San Jose here was also amazing. You see nothing but endless green plains and mischievous monkeys swinging from one tree to the next. Did I say it was amazing? Costa Rica is an incredible place. Best ceviche. I still think about it from time to time and wish to come back soon. Amazing!

"Absolutely Amazing Experience!!"
697emmalee, 13 Mai 2017

The time is spent here with my family was absolutely an amazing experience! Lovely and helpful staff! Especially Lionel Espinoza was an excellent bartender with an amazing smile, he was funny and very kind and helpful! He even helped me with the basics of Spanish! Loved every moment! Thank you do much to everyone who made this experience amazing! Loved the amazing views and scenery!

"Stunning ocean views"
Oyamear, 11 Mai 2017

The customer service at the hotel is exceptional. Everyone was extremely friendly and interested in the comfort of our stay. We arrived in low season and we're very surprised at the low rates. We received coupons for welcome drinks and local area discounts. We were shown to our room by our housekeeper and provided with everything we needed. We like it so much we abandoned our timeshare room to stay here for a week.

"Tamarindo Vista Villas with Lil Dicky"
dondelyon, 09 Mai 2017

I have been staying in Tamarindo for awhile; I stayed in the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas with 3 other friends. They have the best party of the week every Friday; I even met world famous rapper Lil Dickey at the party! The employees are very nice, but also take good care of you. I enjoyed the swimming pool and I could play pool for free! I am considering to come back here as soon as I return in Tamarindo.

"My second visit and will definitely try to come back again!"
422heather2015, 05 Mai 2017

Excellent location and service. Awesome pool. Free daily breakfast was perfecto! Had amazing time with Eric of Salty Sols Surf School - 10/10 on passion scale for surf and people. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Adolfo went above and beyond with our booking ... even when I continually adjusted our dates. Mary Cruz and Deanna at reception were always super helpful. Our lovely housekeeper Liz was super kind and always trying to make our stay pleasant. And, Leonel at the bar ( and all the bar staff - including Sharon) were extra nice and even tried to help with my spanish! Also, the pool and restaurant are open to the public... so you can visit for swim and drink or food. Pizza was awesome we had fresh pinapple on our pizza. The frozen Mango Mojito was soooooo good. Thankyou Vista Villas

"Awesome pool and staff."
Shane L, 05 Mai 2017

Great little hotel, location is just across the road from beach access. Rooms are clean, and our's seemed brand new. The pool is awesome and has a swim up bar with a great happy hour. The restaurant serves great food (especially pizza). The resident surf instructor (Eric with Salty Sols) is an amazing instructor, I would highly recommend. There are free equipment rentals (boogey boards, skim boards, beach chairs, coolers, standup paddle boards, surf boards, kayaks etc...) which is a big money saver when you're already on vacation. The staff are super friendly and helpful, there are too many to name them all but a couple who made a big difference were: Lionel the bartender and Liz the room cleaner. Will 100% stay here next time I visit Tamarindo.

"I keep coming back"
Emory4th, 04 Mai 2017

I'm in Costa Rica twice a year and this has become my go to place. The staff remembers my son and I, the breakfast is good, and since I'm a return customer they worked with Salty Sols Surf lessons to store our boards for us. The addition of Salty Sols is an amenity here as well if you plan to have fun in the beautiful water.

"A Great Week in Tamarindo!"
edatt2017, 02 Mai 2017

We had a great time at this hotel! The room was spacious and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. All amenities were great and the staff was first class. Special thanks to Marisol, Maricruz and Diana at reception for all their help and great advice booking tours (and for the tamales!) and to Hilene and Leonel at the restaurant/bar for their good natured service and for pointing to the resident iguanas. A super special thank to those two wonderful cooks Celia and Eugenia for all the great food and the quick dances under the moonlight! Ronald and Eliecer in maintenance looked after everything else (bueno trajabo!) The Tres Amigos Delion, Charlie and Martin enlivened our evenings and were an atmospheric condition of the highest calibre. Also, special thanks to Jessina and most especiallyLiss in housekeeping whose patience in conversation and delightful charm made our stay all the more rich! The hotel was great and the people made it so much greater an experience! For sure my wife and I would stay here again!! Ed and Cindy Saskatchewan, Canada

"Great hotel at an amazing location"
Charlie v, 25 Avril 2017

I visited the hotel in February to celebrate my mothers birthday. The first thing that I noticed was the beautiful view you can enjoy when you visit the pool. The rooms were very clean when we arrived. The staff is really nice and the food tastes great. Overall we had a great experience at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas and we would like to come back in the future.

"Amazing vacation"
Marilyn Q, 24 Avril 2017

This is a perfect place to stay in Tamarindo. Our room was clean and spacious. The view was absolutely amazing. The staff was nice and helpful, breakfast is also very good. The pool area was a lot of fun

"Well located but a bit expensive"
ochassot, 21 Avril 2017

This Best Western has a great location at the entrance of Tamarindo, just across the road from the beach. It has a nice pool with a wet bar and a decent no-thrills restaurant. Some of the rooms are quiet large while some others are really small, but they are all expensive for what they offer.

"Good location, good rooms, but..."
Rhydarr, 21 Avril 2017

The Best Western Vista Villas has a decent location at the northern end of Tamarindo's main "beach strip" (which is about a kilometer long, easy to walk in 15 minutes). The rooms are spacious and well-kept, with large bathrooms, and excellent free Wi-Fi. The staff was nice and helpful. While the breakfast buffet was the same every morning, the fruit was amazing and super fresh, very good. The built-in couches in the living room of the suites are large enough and comfortable enough to serve as extra beds. It is an easy 2-minute walk across the street and through the trees to the beach. The front desk staff was very prompt about responding to requests and very helpful in getting tours booked. The breakfast staff was great. Overall, it was a good place to stay, and I probably would opt to stay there again. That being said, here's a few things to know: - We had booked our room via the Best Western Int'l site, but the room descriptions on that site didn't match up against BWVV's own site room descriptions. When we contacted the property to find out what room our reservation (1Q + 1 single) translated to, we were told we'd booked the Pilsen suite (stand alone cottage w/1Q + bunks). Upon arrival, we were given a 1Q room and told we had mistakenly been told that we had the Pilsen, that the Pilsen was only rented on a "long-term" basis (whatever that meant? monthly? don't know). After going back and forth with the check-in desk a few times, they ended up upgrading us into a Tropical Suite (300 level room with best views). - The hotel is on 5 levels, built into a hillside. If you are physically challenged/limited/out of shape, you may find this difficult. The first level is street level, where you will find the hotel's office at the north (left) end of the property, the message lady, and the (free) equipment rentals (surf boards, beach chairs, etc). The 100 level of rooms are 'partial' views and you can reach them either by walking up the slope of the parking lot/driveway, the stairs at that same end of the property, or 36 steps of the main (south) staircase entry. (see photos) The 200 level rooms (better views), pool area, and bar/restaurant are reached by walking up the driveway to the 2nd level of parking, or taking the full 59 steps of the main staircase. The 300 level rooms are the 2nd story of the 200 level rooms (15 stairs). To reach the gym and the 400 level rooms, you need to climb another set of stairs (not sure how many) from behind the pool; not sure if you can reach those rooms via the driveway. Additionally, to reach the breakfast area behind the bar, you have to go up and down several stairs from the pool area, although I think you can possibly take a path around behind the pool as well. - The Friday night party is LOUD. Take the earplugs they offer, or bring your own; I don't think there's a room on the property where you won't hear it. It really cranks up around 9pm and runs til about 2am. We weren't told that there would be a DJ at the pool on Sunday afternoon for a few hours; that event was equally loud. - The hotel's pool is "open to the public" on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (so long as people spend at least $10 at the bar/restaurant). This means the pool is very busy during the weekend. - Our housekeeper was very nice; however, we had to keep asking for things. When we first arrived, we had only 2 large towels and 1 hand towel. We did not receive any room cleaning on our second day, and when we called down to the office to inquire around 4pm, they sent up fresh towels immediately. We asked our housekeeper on day 3 for more small towels, and she gave us 2 hand towels and 1 facecloth; on the rest of our days, it was erratic about how many hand towels we'd get and we never got another facecloth. We also had to specifically request her to fill up the shampoo/conditioner in the shower once it was empty. Not sure if this is a "normal" level of service, as we thought all the staff were generally very helpful and nice. The cost is good, the location is decent, and overall, it was a good experience, with a few minor drawbacks.

"Make this place your own."
DOMINIC O, 12 Avril 2017

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE. As always I had the best time felt very safe and felt at home. Yes I have been coming back for the past 6 years because I know that everything is warm and inviting. All the people there are my friends now and I have always been treated great. Every trip I have had I never had any room problems or cleanliness issues. The AC always worked well. There was always warm water. Plenty of linen. Always someone to clean the room if I wanted. The room was huge. The linens were always clean. The fridge and stove always worked. I have been fortunate with good neighbors in rooms. I know what to expect and enjoy the local flavor and of course the best Friday night parties in all of Costa Rica. Thank You to All.

"Can't say enough good things about this place!"
Mai S, 10 Avril 2017

Maybe I'm a bit biased because I have gotten to know the staff and management team very well, but the Best Western Vista Villas is the BEST hotel to stay at when visiting Tamarindo. Our family of 5 traveled here for the first time in October 2015, then again in February 2016, and for a third time in October 2016. Yes, the Friday night party is loud, but earplugs are provided if you can't sleep through the noise. We and our kids had no problem sleeping. The staff are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met - from Marisol and Maricruz at the front desk, Adolfo with reservations, Hilene, Leo, Adrian and Ervin at the bar, and Trevor in management (I miss our 3-hour morning conversations) - everyone has always treated our family with incredible hospitality. And I can't forget to mention Eric who brings an amazing energy and passion to his Salty Sols surf school. In terms of amenities, the pool is large and clean, hotel rooms are clean and spacious, and grounds well-kept. You will not regret your stay here!

"Best Vacation at the Best Western Tamarindo!"
Kenj0nes, 10 Avril 2017

My Wife and I spent 16 nights in Tamarindo, Costa Rica with 7 of those at the Best Western Vista Villas and it was our third trip to Costa Rica and second stay at this hotel. This is a perfect place to stay in Tamarindo, not just for the price, and the location, but for the Wonderful staff. Lionel the Bartender was very friendly as we fumbled with the Spanish language. Our absolute favorite is Maricruz who is always at the front desk with her great smile and helpful ways. We are already planning for next year. This place has an excellent pool and bar area and the decking around these areas is overlooking the Ocean and the beautiful Estuary which is a 5 minute walk away from an interesting tour to see the Black Howler Monkeys and American salt water Crocodiles. Who needs an all inclusive when there are 30-40 different restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Breakfast is included with a wide array of tasty treats. All your tours can be booked right with Maricruz and we took in a nice sunset dinner cruise on a sailboat, with unlimited drinks! The view is so impressive from the pool area because the hotel is set up on the side of a hill and you can't wait for sunset! We can't wait to get back. Don't miss Friday night Salsa Fiesta nights onsite at the Crazy Monkey! Kenny and Karen Jones Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

"Pura Vida Experince a success !"
dumpyroy, 04 Avril 2017

It was a very pleasant visit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Specially Herold, Marisol, Diana and Maricruz at the hotel front desk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel pool and the bar by the pool and also coincidentally the breakfast place is strategically placed with a great view of the ocean! The hotel itself is just at the beginning of the main strip of Tamarindo so it avoids all the noise but is easy walking distance from the main strip. Overall great experience !!

"Very good"
Urimmn, 04 Avril 2017

Very nice hotel with very good stuff. You can get for free gear for the beach ...look for Erik from salty souls Hilene the bartender was great!! Breakfast is also very good you can ask for special omelette...

"Not your typical Best Western"
Ckrenzel, 15 Novembre 2016

As mentioned in a previous review, we've also stayed away from US chain hotels. But this is a Costa Rican hotel. Hotel grounds landscaped with native flowering plants. Room is small with some unusual features including alcove landscaped with a planter box of decorative gravel and diffenbachia plants, Full length mirror and platform bed. Room clean although musty smelling. Powerful AC and working high speed wifi. Some minor outdoor construction going on but not noisy although a little inconvenient to navigate around to get to room. Did not ask or get a ocean view room.

"Fun at the Crazy Monkey Bar & Pool. Best kept secret is the waterfall into the pool."
Steve E, 14 Novembre 2016

Me and my family joined a group at the monkey Bar at the Best Western after Church. They have a nice little outdoor bar next to the pool with a nice view out to Playa Grande. The secret of the Best Western is the deep pool with a waterfall that you can jump off. My kids had a blast diving, flipping, and jumping.

"Great stay; friendly staff willing to go the extra mile...."
Matt L, 07 Novembre 2016

First of all you are visiting CR; its beautiful but anything can happen..Yes there was some construction however, September and October are the only times they can do any renovations at the hotel; deal with it. If you are staying busy and being adventurous you will never notice. Its an amazing property with a fantastic vista from the pool deck and bar area. The hotel's food was surprisingly good (and well priced compared to tamarindo restaurants) and every morning you literally get a free completely organic meal! See Eric in the morning for free beach equipment rentals and he will give you the scoop on things to check out around town. I highly suggest getting a suite so you have extra room to stretch out. Trevor is the manager and helped us out with some room adjustments which went above and beyond! Bring your right frame of mind and you will not be bothered by the Friday night party; it was definitely something to see. The value of our experience overall was fantastic and worth every dime. WE WILL TOTALLY COME BACK.... CHEERS! - Matt

"Friendly Staff, Beautiful Location"
cpgz, 04 Novembre 2016

I visited with a group of 30 and we had a great experience at the hotel. The rooms that slept 4 were huge, and some even had kitchenettes. The rooms that slept 2 were small, but clean and bright. We stayed 2 nights and had 2 breakfasts, a lunch and a dinner at the hotel. The food and service at mealtimes in the hotel were excellent. The guys working were very friendly and the buffet plentiful. Since this was our first stop in Costa Rica, it was nice to be able to eat a variety of local foods. The location was excellent and the grounds were very nice. The pool was clean and large. We were within walking distance to the beach and the view was great. All the people working here were friendly and helpful.

"Great place to stay!!"
Gordon O, 02 Novembre 2016

Friendly accommodating staff, great food, clean and comfortable rooms. Trevor, the manager is friendly and very helpful. Willing to assist his guests in any travel related matters they may have Leonel, the bartender friendly, great personality and always there when you need another!! If surfing is your pleasure check out Salty Sols Surf School - Eric Atkinson will look after you.

"Better than a Best Western"
harryhusker, 14 Octobre 2016

I normally don't stay at best westerns, preferring something with a little more character, but this place was perfect. It was cheap compared to all the other places around, was only a block off the beach and has a nice pool with a bar in it. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Best available for the price.

"Great location, very comfy room."
Tabitha H, 12 Octobre 2016

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in August and we very much enjoyed it. Our room/ apartment was huge with a balcony overlooking the sea and a very comfortable bed. The pool and bar area are nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the chambermaids really looked after our room. There is a restaurant but we'd recommend visiting one of yummy places to eat in walking distance - most of which are on the beach. The hotel offers boards and equipment for free and the beach is on the doorstep ready for you to take your surfboards. Tamarindo beach is decent and fun for a surf but Playa Conchal, about 20 mins drive away, is just gorgeous - stunning clear water and white sand. The weather was lovely for the most part, with just a couple of thunderstorms in the evenings. The only negative is that the hotel hosted a party on the Friday night, which we didn't realise was happening, and the loud music played until 2am. Unfortunately my husband and I were a bit under the weather that night so needed to sleep, otherwise I'm sure we could have enjoyed the party. There is a secure car park for a rental car which is good. We would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Tamarindo.

"Two nights in Tamarindo"
User, 29 Septembre 2016

my wife and I stayed here for two nights. There are two levels for the rooms here and we stayed on the lower level. There's no view of the ocean from here and it is right above the road. Which at night is quiet enough. We stayed in one of the rooms which has a kitchen and the living room which was a good room. The Wi-Fi here is not very good on this level it continually goes in and out and connections are somewhat difficult. The first night I had an extremely difficult time sleeping because the air conditioner is 4 feet above your head and is somewhat loud since you have to have it on all the time because of the humidity and Heat. So the second night I slept in the living room and it was the only good sleep I had. The bathroom is in need of repair and updating. The shower has an open drain and the shower head is somewhat plugged with calcium. The reception and maintenance people are great. And we did not eat in the restaurant because of some bad reviews we read. But there are lots of other places to eat in town. The location is quite good for the beach and access to downtown. All in all it's not a bad place to stay as it is an economic Hotel.

"Beautiful view, extremely friendly staff."
Jennifer H, 01 Septembre 2016

We stayed in an ocean view room. It was very clean and roomy. There were plenty of dishes and kitchen items to allow us to save a few bucks on eating out for 3 meals a day. The restaurant was great and the staff was very helpful and personable. There is a "house" cat that roams around and he sat on the pool table when we played. He was hilarious! The hotel is very close to the beach and within walking distance to a few little shops and restaurants. The hotel recommended day trips and we were not disappointed in any of the ones we took. The only problems we had were that the guy who sits in the restaurant to rent out free equipment was late every day of our stay (not a huge issue, but we were really excited so we wanted to make the most of every day) and our room was close to the pool so the Friday night party was really loud. We didn't know before we booked the room that there is a very large, very loud party that takes place every Friday night. The staff provides ear plugs, which is great, but I think I would have made sure my stay didn't include a Friday night if I had known about the party ahead of time. I'm not a "party" person and I was traveling with children so I would have preferred a quieter spot. Despite the party, the rest of the stay was amazing. The pool was fun and nothing was ever crowded.

"Disappointing- Ridiculous party Friday night, construction, no hot water"
ZLRKB, 30 Août 2016

We were really hopeful after seeing some great reviews for this place. However, we were very disappointed with Tamarindo Vista Villas. My husband and I visited for our honeymoon and were sorely unimpressed. There was construction going on our entire stay, we had no hot water for 2/3 days, the room was only cleaned once out of 3 days, and most of all there was a RIDICULOUS party on Friday night (the last night of our honeymoon) that no one told us about until about 2 hours before. The music was so loud that the bed shook and the music was incredibly profane. There were drunk people walking around everywhere and trashing the place. The party lasted from about 9pm-2:30am. When we called to see if we could get our room switched, the receptionist said she would look for us. When we checked 20 minutes later, she had left and no one was at reception to help us. If we had known about this party, we would have never booked here. Positives: free water sports rentals, very helpful restaurant staff. Overall: We would never think about staying here again. Don't stay here if you expect to sleep and expect to be safe. It seemed like the staff cared more about the party guests than the actual paying hotel guests.

"Restaurant,Hotel and Customer Service"
jacky G, 24 Août 2016

The restaurant at the hotel we were a partie of 5 one member ordered shrimp and rice and had about four shrimp in it I ordered a ribeye and it was maybe three ounces of meat and the salads we're just lettuce and tomatoes, and it took us about 40 minutes to get our first drink needless to say that was our last week also.it's a very expensive restaurant, poor quality of the food and poor service, very poor service. I paid for two villages for my family and me and my husband, the cleaning wasn't good, blankets smells funny, trash can with toilet paper, soap bar used, I requested for a new one and new blankets for both villages. Maid service was rude and no friendly, NO like a REAL COSTARICAN PEOPLE, very desapointed! !! The villages were beautiful, awesome views, beautiful place, for sure I'm going to visit it again, but next time I'll point it about cleaning before I do my reservation, and I will never go to the restaurant very poor food, it's no what the Menu shows, and the breakfast poor quality too, this restaurant put the hotel down, It's a shame!!!I'm from Costa Rica, my husband is US citizen, my Dad is 91, my Mom 78, my sister 51 years old. Is it what we show to the tourists in Costa Rica, Best Western Hotel management?

"Pure Vida"
william s, 21 Août 2016

What a wonderful place this property turned out to be. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Lots to do in Tamerindo, the surf, the scuba and the shopping definitely great. I hope to go back again soon.

"Good value"
javaQuebec, 10 Août 2016

We stayed one night at this hotel and got a good price 74$us with breakfast included. The room was fine, quite large, with a nice view overlooking the ocean (room 204). The bathroom felt a bit dingy with low lighting and ceiling but it was ok for a short stay. This hotel is well located, a short walk from all the action but far enough from it and a short walk to the beach. The pool was refreshing but the pool chairs were unacceptable. Totally run down and need to be replaced. It was the first thing I noticed when i walked in and it made me question the cleansiness of the pool. We saw monkeys and really cool birds in the trees right at the hotel. Breakfast was actually surprising as it was a free continental breakfast. There was quite a bit of variety. Keep your expectations realistic and remember this is an affordable choice.

"Almost Perfect Hotel for Us!"
mbahr, 27 Juillet 2016

We love the Best Western and have stayed here many times. I bring a huge group (54) to Costa Rica for service work, and I want a nice Costa Rican experience for them. We don't need luxury, and this place is almost perfect. My only complaint is that the Friday night party is loud, and the lyrics of the music selection are pretty obscene.

"Nice place, but I expected more."
TeacherFreddie, 24 Juillet 2016

It is a nice place to stay. But too noisy on Friday night, they have this Lady's night party. Too loud music. Live music and records were played at the same time. They should tell you in advance about this party, not some hours before. Terrible wi-if. You can walk to the pueblito. Ocean view from rooms in second level, cool. Food in breakfast ok.

"Our go to place to stay in Tamarindo"
southagaincharters, 05 Juillet 2016

This was our 3rd time staying at Vista Villas and as usual it was fantastic!! Friday night is the best party in town and the rest of the time this is a quiet and clean place to stay with a super nice staff and amazing crew at the Crazy Monkey Bar/Restaraunt!!

"Oasis in Costa Rica"
Desseree, 28 Juin 2016

Rooms are huge, with a separate bathroom. Staff fantastic, friendly and efficient. The owners are brilliant and knowledgeable. The majority of apartment surround the glorious swimming pool. The food is brilliant. There is a local bus service out the front and only 10 minutes to the closest beach, 5 minutes to the nearest town and supermarket. I do strongly suggest you hire a car. The hotel has plenty of parking and there are 4 main beaches within 20 minutes. Although it is on the main road, all room are very quiet.

"It served it's purpose"
Adam H, 15 Juin 2016

Its ok. Allowed me to shower and sleep. Uncomfortable beds. LOUD party in the pool on Friday nights with free really bad drinks. Horrible wi-fi. It is a close walk to the beach and to shopping/restaurant area. Oceanview room not worth it. I can see the ocean during the day, but I'm not at the hotel during the day. Rooms on 2nd floor seem to be the nicest. Free surfboard rental, free snorkel gear. Free breakfast is not good. People are fantastic! Because of the price, I would stay here again.

"It's...ok"
Michael L, 14 Juin 2016

real quick: - rooms and bar do NOT look like the brochure, not as nice and kinda run down. Internet intermitten. You are on the poor end of town but doesn't take long to get to nicer area. Keep expectations at average. Breakfast fair, fruit was great. Beer prices all over town are kinda high, not "local" prices.

"Don't do it!!!"
Anaids00, 10 Juin 2016

We booked this place because it received overall good reviews. We were given an absolutely terrible room (See below). The sheets were dirty, the shower was dirty and we spent the first hour killing flies and mosquitos in our room. We attempted to get an upgraded room which was clean but they said that would cost an extra $80 per night on top of what we already paid. I would liken this hotel (at least the room we had) to a one star motel in the US. I would have rather stayed at a hostel which would have been less expensive and seemed to be nicer. We have up after the first night and went to a much nicer hotel right on the beach just down the street whose prices were comparable. The one positive was that the people were very nice, even if they weren't very accommodating. Anywhere else they would have given us at least a clean room.

"Great location and super nice hotel"
Leslow76, 09 Juin 2016

This place is across from beach and the hotel is super nice, staff very helpful, free great breakfast..only thing is they don't have wine at bar and I don t drink , you can always buy wine at one of the markets.

"Great Ocean view, near beach, near town"
Ann T, 27 Mai 2016

Everyone who works at Best Western was super nice and helpful. Trevor - manager Receptionists: Marisol, Stephanie, Mariecruz, Wendy Handyman: Jason, Adolfo Elena - kitchen - she found my husband's earplugs in the pool Adriana - maid It even has a deep pool - over 10 feet! The only caveat is on Friday nights they have a live band from about 9 pm to 2 am. You can join in the fun and dance or the hotel provides free earplugs. It was not a problem.

"They make you feel like part of the family"
tpark2016, 26 Mai 2016

We just spent 8 nights at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. It was our first time in Costa Rica. All in all, it was a great experience. I had booked a room with a partial oceanfront view but there must have been some mix-up with the reservation and we ended up in small room with no view for the first two nights.. Maricruz at the front desk was extremely helpful and placed us in one of the best rooms with a fantastic view for our last six nights We found her and the rest of the front desk staff, Marisol, Stephanie and Nicholas to be extremely helpful and friendly throughout our entire stay. Once you are there for a few days, you start to realize that the whole staff is really like one big family and they make you feel like part of their family. Trevor is the manager of the facility and is usually circulating around during breakfast. My wife was very sick the first day (which was her birthday) and Eric was able to help us by recommending the doctor who was right across the street. Both Trevor and Eric, who who is in charge of the water equipment, are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Costa Rica and Tamarindo and they both have great suggestions on where to go and what to do. It was also nice to have access to free equipment. We only used their boogie boards but you can also get kayaks, surfboards, etc. Eric also provides surfing lessons by appointment and several people said he was an awesome instructor. We also liked the location. The beach is right across the street and the hotel is within walking distance of most, if not all, the of the bars and places to eat in town. We spent a fair amount of time up at the pool and the bar located in the hotel. It was a great place to meet other guests who come from all over including the US, Canada, Brasil and Europe. The next time we return to Tamarindo, we will surely staff at this facility.

"All in all a good experience"
silkfunkybrit, 25 Mai 2016

My husband and I come here a lot....to use the pool and we pay for lunch for that privilege. The food is always good, the pool is always half empty.its usually a wonderful day,,,apart from this one time,So ,my husbands mom is staying there ,we join her,Boy the room is beautiful. It has obviously just been refurbished. There is almost a garden in the room, georgeous tiles, flowers, wonderful bathroom, comfy bed..its above and beyond what we expected..Now the day we arrived was holiday.Easter.Unbeknown to us that day they put an extra charge on the day pass.We were in the pool and suddenly got a phone call from the manager.Basically he said we had to leave the pool asap if we werent paying. We explained we were with my husbands mum and the room number but they werent having any of it.She had paid a room for one night single .We were told to pay $100 or leave .I do get where they were coming from so over a series of phone calls we agreed to pay the extra $100 .This is not where I have my beef.My upset is that we were not informed of this before we arrived and that we were literally dragged out of the pool to make the financial transaction needed. It was pretty obvious probably to everyone as we had a security guard hanging right over us and he really didnt leave us at all after that for the entire day.We paid up and got a meal included ,which to be fair was average.I mean it was not bad, just average. The fish was really dry..We have had nachos here many a time and they have been great, the cerviche is really good, but this time just felt underwhelmed.I love this place but this experience has made us look futher afield.I understand they need to charge people extra if visiting, but the prescence of a security guard so visible was very embarressing.Next time, just let people know the deal before they are in the front gates

"Had a wonderful stay!"
Hulabear1, 24 Mai 2016

I made the reservation online through Hotel.com, but wanted to ensure that we were in a smoke-free room, as I have asthma. I had no idea that all rooms in Costa Rica are smoke free, but have travelled elsewhere and have had problems with rooms that were smoking rooms. I e-mailed the hotel directly, and received a prompt reply that the room was smoke free. Our room was large enough for my parents and me. The a/c worked well, and was needed, as it is so hot in Tamarindo. I'm from Hawai'i, and am used to the heat, but there are no tradewinds in Tamarindo, and it is HOT. You will appreciate the a/c and the pool. Breakfast is basic, especially if you eat early. Breakfast runs from 7-10 am. Juice, coffee, toast, fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs were out at 7 am, but by 9 am they also have some breads/cakes out, peanut butter for the toast, and pancakes. They also have equipment to borrow for free - kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkels/fins, skimboards, coolers, beach chairs, volleyballs, surboards (soft top/foam type). The equipment we borrowed (kayaks, skimboard, and snorkerl/fins) were all in good condition. Eric, who is in the restaurant from 8-10 am every morning to check out equipment, is very helpful and informative. All of the staff is very friendly, even the cleaning staff and groundskeepers. Wifi was free in our room and worked well for what I needed to do. Not sure if it would withstand downloading large files, but worked well for checking e-mail and doing some work online. There is a gym with a/c, but I had to go early to turn on the a/c for 30 minutes prior to working out, but at least there's a gym. Water pressure in the shower is a little low, as it seems to be everywhere we have visited in Costa Rica. Also, note that check in is at 3 pm. We showed up at 2 pm, and they said we can check in at 3 pm. They didn't even call to see if our room was ready, but we did not press the issue, and don't know if they would have checked us in early if we had put some pressure on. That was the only down side to our stay.

"Great place ! "
Paulina M, 24 Mai 2016

My biyfriend and i went to Tamarisdo and it is perfect !!!!! Small town,a lot of places to explore, in the resort the complementarie breakfast is great, also they have free equipment like SUP board, beach chairs, umbrella, kayak, boogie board, cooler, if you want some equipment just go to the restaurant and sign up with Erick (really nice guy) he is there just for 2 hours ! 8-9 am. Also if you want to know where to get something o any tour or really anithing you need go to the front desk and talk with Nick, he helped us with everything. The pool its really nice, i didnt use the gym but my boyfriend says that it is ok !

"Free equipment check out made this a great value"
kof4d, 23 Mai 2016

My wife and I were able to check out surfboards, stand up paddle boards and a 2 man kayak during our stay. Eric was a great help in working with us on the equipment. This is a great location just across the street from the beach where there was a great surf and a river to paddle up. For us to be able to try different equipment out at no additional cost, it really drove up the value of our stay at Tamarindo Vista Villas. We even got to see a crocodile in the river. We would go back again.

"Could of been better"
Geri R, 19 Mai 2016

I don't like to complain, but for the price which was about $80 a night, I could of found something better. The hotel is out-dated --it needs alot of upgrades--they have water issues, like i was taking a shower and the water stopped running in mid-shower. The free breakfast was very basic. the bathroom tiles had mold --they had good A/C---and a great friday night party- idk wat thats like for someone who wants to sleep early though I stood in an airbnb and it was wonderful

"MrPrice"

Great time was had. Nice staff, food and just a fun place. Can't wait to get back next year. Great brick oven pizza. Friday night is a huge party at the Monkey Bar with bands,dj and alot of people that let there hair down.

"Wonderful place!"
Lindsay9485, 16 Mai 2016

Stayed here for 11 nights with my friend. I can't say enough wonderful things! The staff is amazing and so accommodating. They were so friendly and knowledgable. It was clean, air conditioned and very well kept. The food at the restaurant was great and affordable. Family friendly with an awesome pool! I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Costa Rica!

"Perfect and SAFE Location, Beautiful Staff and ...Can't wait to go back!!!"
Liiiizzzz, 10 Mai 2016

Kudos to ALL for making my vacation such a wonderful experience. From the time I made the reservation over the phone with Marisol, and calling several times Maricruz, I knew that we selected the right place. The rooms were so clean, beautiful and fun pool, great breakfast. Thanks to Nick, to all the housekeepers: Evelyn, Josefina, Aracelis(?), Wendy; Sharon in the breakfast area, Judith, laundry; Ilizer and Carlos in maintenance too! Erik rocks, take a surfing class with him!!! I wish I could remember everybody's name including the security guards at night...I felt always soo safe!!! And finally, thanks Trevor (General Manager) for running such a great hotel!

"Most amazing hotel experience at Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas"

My hat is off to Trevor (manager) for providing us with the most amazing, helpful staff that made our stay at this beautiful hotel truly incredible. Thank you Trevor - I will be back! : ) Everyone was so friendly and helpful and they truly made us feel at home. Maricruz, Marisol and Nick at the front desk were so helpful and knowledgable. Eric with Salty Sols Surf School, board rentals and gear is the Bomb! Cool guy - if you want to know about surf in the area or take a lesson Eric is the guy! The housekeeping staff was amazing and took care of anything we could possibly need (Adrianna,Josefina,Evelyn, Judith and everyone else!) Sharron thanks for beautiful breakfast with a smile every Am. Wendy was super helpful as well and Carlos thank you for everything (I hope you got the machete : )) The hotel is gated with great security (thanks Ilizer-Nicaraugua and the guys) Oh and I can't forgot my little friend Rambo the hotel kitty he's awesome too. You all made our stay completely amazing thank you again!! As you can see I can't say enough great things about the staff and the hotel, pool and oceanview property it is truly one of a kind and the experience can't be beat. Can't wait to go back!!

"Comfortable stay, friendly staff"
Ming Yang C, 26 Avril 2016

The hotel is close by the beach, the surf schools and local shops. The rooms are clean with a good view to the water front. The breakfast by the poolside is well prepared. It is a comfortable stay whether you would like to walk across the street to the beach or down the street to the shops. The sunset is particularly charming with local musicians adding a romantic touch to the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.

"Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Tama"
elisabeth c, 26 Avril 2016

Second time staying at Vista Villas. First time was in December 2015 and both stays were magnificent. I can't rave enough about the staff...everyone is super friendly, helpful and efficient in booking tours/excursions/taxi and shuttle service. There is a locked gate and guard once the sun starts to go down so you always feel super safe. The Crazy Monkey party on Fridays is always fun and a great way to meet locals too! The swim-up bar is really nice--shout out to Carlos at the bar for always putting a smile on our faces and making awesome drinks and also an awesome DJ! The A/C in the rooms is magical and the rooms are always clean. Also location is SPOT ON!!!! PURA VIDA!

"Affordable and great view"
vonneyd88, 25 Avril 2016

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the terrace rooms (Room 307) for 3 nights total. The room was small, but had almost everything we needed-beautiful view of the beach, A/C, ample lighting, TV, clean bathroom, comfy bed. The only thing missing was a mini fridge and/or ice bucket-which would have been nice to keep our water and beers cold. Luckily, they do have an ice machine located behind the bar/restaurant and a friendly employee helped me by letting me borrow a glass pitcher to transport ice in. Also on a side note-the shower and faucet water pressure is pretty light-felt like a light sprinkle. I noticed this was a common thing amongst most of the hotels I stayed in probably due to the fact that CR is water conscious/eco-friendly. Lastly, there is plenty of parking and at night there is a security guard who monitors the front gate entrance. The hotel itself is located towards the end of the Tamarindo strip, but there is easy access to the beach (across the street) and is walking distance to many restaurants and shops. I would stay here again and recommend to friends!

"They run a nightclub in the hotel"
Ezequiel G, 24 Avril 2016

The rooms were clean and spacious and thats about it... We arrived on a Friday and they told us that near by they where having a ladies night... The ladies night was actually at the hotel restaurant and the music was extremely loud.. We don't usually complain but this was mental... The room windows vibrated with the music till 2:30 am..At the front desk they just gave us ear plugs with an attitude of "just deal with it" what made things worse..the next morning with little sleep we went to have breakfast at the restaurant that was dirty full of cigarette buts and empty drinks everywhere.. I wouldn't get into that swimming pool after that night if my life depend on it..it is a shame since the location is absolutely brilliant. What ever u do DO NOT book on Fridays

"Short trip..."
Keston D, 24 Avril 2016

My first time in Costa Rica after many years of wanting to go. Checking was nice and smooth. (Marisol and MariaCruz) The room was very clean. Room 308. I had an ocean view room. I like the property and it's location for exploring Tamarindo... The comp' breakfast was nice touch The water pressure was weak one day but not a serious issue for me. KD

"Way better than expected"
txb2015, 24 Avril 2016

Good location on edge of town, hillside property so it was a little hike from street up to the room each time, but very happy with elevation. This property has a very capable and attentive staff (props to Randy and Mary Cruz), the guest room 307 was very clean and in great condition with a nice balcony over looking Tamarindo bay (not completely private as you have neighbors on each side). The pool and bar/restaurant area is well maintained, offering an excellent vantage point to enjoy the sunset. Huge party on Friday nights with a great salsa band, drawing the largest crowd I've seen anywhere in Tamarindo. During complimentary breakfast period there is a surf instructor named Eric (Salty Sols) who displayed great guest service and great skill and patience in his instruction. He will teach you to surf if you desire to do so. He also allows free use of volleyball, snorkeling gear, surf boards and/paddle board which I highly recommend you take advantage of, his presence and performance were probably the most welcome surprise. Ive stayed at multiple properties in Tamarind and this one may be the best value.

"Great value, helpful staff..."
Gmacg63, 21 Avril 2016

Just a one nighter on our itinerary, but a great place to stay! Although it's right next to the road, finding the entrance, in the dark, was a challenge, but once there, the check in lady was great. Full of advice and welcome! The hotel was great value and the room was more than adequate, with fuctioning air conditioning and a door that had clearly been bought for a larger frame, but it locked, so no worries. Breakfast was great and the setting was fab, although I could imagine it to be less so, when it rains! It's not too far from the centre of town (c. 1km), but there are also bars along the way, if you feel the need to break your journey! We didn't try the hotel bar, although it was, clearly, popular. All in all, a great hotel, given price and star rating!

"Nice hotel"
Robert K, 20 Avril 2016

Nice place to stay, but there is a loud party every Friday night that lasts until 2:00AM. There is no escaping the noise. Saturday night was quiet. The doorknob on the bathroom door cam off in your hand. Nice view from the pool area.

"Great Location & Value!"
Anthony C, 18 Avril 2016

I stayed in room 103B for 4 nights. The accommodations were clean and it was very close to town and the beach. The shower had very limited water pressure due to rationing, it was dripping out... Otherwise great!

"Great Value"
lawsonmatthew, 10 Avril 2016

It has a great location across from the beach (although never went to the Tamarindo beach as I headed north to Grande Playa, Dante Playa and many more secluded beaches with fewer than 15 people on them at anytime). Fantastic Pool and nice bar. Only complaint is the free breakfast is a bit tiring after the first breakfast. The lack of variety wears quickly. Staff is incredibly friendly - gave me great tips on where to go for secluded, quiet beaches and the free snorkel equipment and boogie boards where nice to have.

"this is the place for mission trips & time for my son & I"
qiedge, 05 Avril 2016

Several of the people working here, as well as the Manger Trevor, combine to make this a go to spot for the regular Tamarindo area traveler. Breakfast could use some meat but given the price (incluido) really can't complain. They go out of their way to make things work for you & provide accommodations that are helpful to the regular traveler as well as occasional. In this past trip, it included items such as "lender" (read free) skim boards & body boards which we had paid to rent in the past. Adolfo in reservations as well as the people working the breakfast are pleasurable and helpful. there is a huge friday night party/music so request to stay away from the pool if that will bother you.

"Great value in Tamarindo"
Garth F, 29 Mars 2016

We just returned from a 4 day stay at the Best Western with my 11 and 12 year old kids. While the hotel is pretty old, it had all the amenities we needed and was in a perfect location. The front desk was particularly helpful in booking excursions and helping arrange transportation. Also, if you plan on surfing, I would also highly recommend using Salty Sols, the surf instruction company set up in the hotel. The owner, Erik, provides much better instruction at a more reasonable price than the surf shops on the main strip. I would give the hotel 5 stars if there were better mattresses on the beds.

"Tamarindo Best Western"
tedmets, 28 Mars 2016

The hotel and pool area have great sea views. Cozy room with comfortable king sized bed and nice patio with sea view. Great pool and bar area with good food and drinks reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

"very good"
coachnorowski, 21 Mars 2016

Room with a balcony and view of the ocean is the way to go! The standard room was small. Pool bar is great, as well as the breakfast that is included. Only problem is when leaving the hotel you have to walk on the road to get to the beach and places to do things in town. There is no sidewalk to walk on. Some people come into the hotel to have a beer at the bar and use the pool on a daily basis, I could see how that my bother some people, it was not a problem for me. For the price the hotel and location is, very good.

"GORGEOUS VIEWS! EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR TOURISTS!"
elaine s, 16 Mars 2016

Never been to Costa Rica, and was not sure where to say, but was very happy to stay at this Hotel. It was very nice, and comfortable. My ocean view villa was a corner unit, and overlooked the pool and bar and some awesome views of the ocean. I felt like I was in some type of Presidential suite. My room had a wrap around balcony with some tables and chairs and nice sofa. I really enjoyed this hotel. It was priced well, and I had a fun time at this hotel. Shopping was only a few minutes down the street, so it was a nice short walk. If you decide to get a car, there was plenty of parking available at this hotel. The hotel also had security at the entrance, so no willy nilly people could just walk in, so I did feel very safe. Excellent choice for a family wanting a nice time. Also, Friday nights at this hotel are very fun. Fun music and a total party atmosphere with a really good live, DJ. GOOD TIMES FOR SURE!

"Perfect stay for the 6th year in a row."
DOMINIC O, 16 Mars 2016

My room was always clean and freshened any time I wanted with attentive staff. My perfect house keeper, Jesenia Aguirre, was always always helpful and respectful. I was always welcomed by warm smiles and greetings from everyone. I don!t dare mention anyone else because. I know I will forget some ones name. EVERYONE WAS GREAT.

"Great hotel"
Tylerfreestyler, 14 Mars 2016

We stayed at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas for a week and we really enjoyed it. The party on friday is the best one in town, so that's definitely a big plus. Everyone of the staff is very nice and helpful. We will definitely come back one day to this awesome town and hotel.

"5th Year In A Row & Amazing Place!!"
LisaA161, 10 Mars 2016

Last week was my 5th year coming down the the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. Its always so welcoming that the amazing staff remembers our group. The staff including: Aldofo, Nick, and Maricruz at the front desk- Always so helpful with coordinating our transfers and room reservations.Carlos Sosa, Sharom, Dennis, and Hilene at the bar providing great service at lunch, breakfast, and dinner. And the one area I have seen improve over the last 5 years is housekeeping with Tatiana and Evelyn all are amazing workers. They have a great team there and this is thanks to Trevor who manages the hotel. I was excited to see they opened a gym for guests that had two treadmills and other workout equipment! This year we were all excited to find out that they offer free equipment for guests: Surf Boards, Boogie Boards, Footballs, Volleyballs and much more with the new partnership with Salty Sols Surf School with Eric and also one of his employees Max. They both offered great service and made sure we were booked with some surf lessons at a discount rate when a guest, and other fun activities. I can't wait to go back for my 6th year in a row!!!! Thank You Best Western Tamarindo!!!!! - Lisa :)

"Wonderful stay & experience at Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas"
Linda A, 10 Mars 2016

We stayed at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas and thoroughly enjoyed our week stay there. We rented a suite and had beautiful ocean views with a private porch adjoining our living room/kitchen-dining area. A hot plate, microwave, and small apartment-sized refrigerator, as well as cooking utensils, and place settings were all available for our use. Each morning a complimentary breakfast was served, consisting of fruits, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, pastries, coffee, cereal, milk, and juices. Most of the time we took food back to the room and ate there while enjoying the ocean-view from our dining area and catching up on news from home via Facebook. WiFi worked great the entire time. The bed was king sized and very comfortable. ALL the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful, including those at the reception desk (Mari Cruz), in housekeeping (Adriana), and those working at the restaurant and bar, and also. Eric, a surf instructor is on site each morning (Salty Sols) to book lessons for those wishing to learn to learn to surf or just to improve their skills. Lessons cost an additional fee but are discounted for Best Western guests. He is very friendly, and loans out the hotels' snorkeling gear, paddle boards, etc. to those wishing to take advantage of these free amenities. We ate meals from the menu in the restaurant a few times, and were very satisfied with the food choices and quality of the food. The pool was very relaxing with plenty of chairs and recliners and always music in the background. Again, the view from the pool was unbeatable, an ocean view with beautiful flowering shrubs in the foreground. We would definitely love to return and stay at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas again!

"Birthday Getaway"
CatherineTelayah, 05 Mars 2016

My friend booked the other Best Western but we realized it was not in the correct location as they stated online - but thankfully Nick at the front office spent nearly an hour with us helping to accommodate a new booking with this hotel for four nights - his wonderful friendly smile and attitude made the bad mix up better. The staff has been so wonderful both at the hotel and restaurant and the Friday night Monkey Bar party was fantastic.

"Good not great value. "
Hugh A, 02 Mars 2016

My and my GF stayed for 4 nights - location is good because you are away from the busiest part of the strip but still only a 5 min walk away. Beach is very close. Rooms a bit small but nice ocean view. Pool is great for cooling down is tamarindo is really hot. Staff is nice enough. Good deal overall for the price.

"Simply Pura Vida!!"
meghan g, 28 Février 2016

I will never be able to say enough good things about the Best Western Vista Villas. From the moment you check in to the moment you check you are treated as family. Any question, concern, advice or suggestion is met with the highest level of customer service. From booking tours, dinner reservations, taxis and shuttles the front desk staff Adolfo, Nick, Marisol all go above and beyond to cater to your needs and make sure your stay is the best. The rooms are clean and kept immaculate by excellent staff like Yessenia, we have stayed 3 times in the suite with kitchenette and it dells just as comfortable as home. The menu at the restaraunt was redone and it is stellar, especially the ceviche and arroz con pollo. They also have all you can eat pizza and salad night on Saturdays and make sure to be there for their world famous ladies night at their "Crazy Monkey Bar." The bar makes great drinks by Carlos and Dennis, make sure to have a chili water shot its a Costa Rica staple. The stay includes a breakfast of fruit, coffee, juice, pastries, crepes etc and there is always a smiling face from the hotel like Sharom to greet you everyday and chat with about your days activities. The included complimetary ammenities are an awesome bonus;l surfboards, paddle boards, footballs, volleyballs etc but def book a surf lesson with Eric and learning some basics(seperate fee). It is now our third stay with our Vista Villas family and we will be back in October because we just can not stay away...Pura Vida!!

"Good Value, But Don't Expect Much, Though the Gym is Impressive"
MiPo13, 25 Février 2016

My husband and I spent three nights at the Best Western in Tamarindo. We had a standard room with and ocean view. The room is small. Outfitted with a small fridge and shelves to place items - no closet. There was also a small wooden table outside to enjoy beverages while enjoying the stunning sunsets. The room was obviously well past it's prime and there was a faint moldy odour upon first entering, but still reasonable value for the money. We arrived on the Friday but didn't partake in the evening festivities as we were exhausted from our travels. It was, as warned, loud, despite being in one of the furthest rooms. The buffet breakfast was better than expected. Also, be aware, there are quite a few stairs to get from the main road to the hotel rooms. The one thing I was truly impressed by was the gym! It is one of the most well equipped I've come across in my travels over the years. While by no means an unenjoyable stay, I'd try somewhere else if I were to visit Tamarindo again.

"Best hotel in Tamarindo!"
Mai S, 21 Février 2016

The Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas are easily the best hotel in all of Tamarindo. The value, service and location cannot be beat. We had explored other accommodations in Tamarindo but nothing compared in terms of the price, amenities and view. This is our second time staying at this hotel and we could not be more happy with the quality of the staff, proximity to the beach and the rest of town, cleanliness and amenities. There is a good selection of breakfast options included in the rate, the Friday night party is the best in all of Tamarindo and the staff are so friendly and hospitable. If there are any concerns, the hotel staff are quick to address them. Our family will definitely visit again in the future.

"Best place to stay in Tamarindo!!!!."
Sjdiaz2005, 19 Février 2016

Really excited that our stay at best western Tamarindo vista villas was an amazing experience!!. The whole crew there is phenomenal. From nick at the front desk to our friends at the bar Carlos Sharom and Dennis. You guys made our stay very welcoming. Thank you to management, Adolfo and Trevor for making us feel at home. A special thanks to Wendy for helping us in and out of the hotel with our trip back to San Jose. This place is our new home away from home. Will definitely be making plans to come and stay there again!!. Everything was clean and working properly. The food was also very good!. Good rates on room. They also provide you with free surf boards. The view from our room was beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone that is planning on going to Tamarindo to stay at the Best Western Vista Villa!!. Pura Vida!!.

"Second Home right on the Beach"
Jason C, 17 Février 2016

Came back from this wonderful hotel 2 days ago and could not have been more impressed. It was booked up and a popular spot from returning tourists who came to the bar (The Crazy Monkey, a local hot spot) to reminisce about past stays. Perfect location of the beautiful beach (right across the street), extremely clean and gorgeous views. The reason which makes the experience exceptional is the staff who treat you like family. From the bartenders I met (Sharon, Carlito and Dennis), concierge (Maricruz, Nick and Frederick) up to the manager (Trevor) and professional in house surf instructor (Eric) each really make an effort to make your trip memorable. They are extremely accommodating to your travel needs but more importantly take the time to get to know you better and add that personal touch. In 7 days I really felt cared for personally which is really rare in a resort these days. Please do not hesitate to stay at this little hidden gem in Tamarindo. I know I will be returing ASAP.

"Great view, fresh pool, & breakfast!"
planegame, 11 Février 2016

I would like to give this hotel a 5/5, but there was one thing holding me back. Overall, our stay here was AMAZING. The beach is literally across the street. You don't even have to go though... because they have an awesome fresh water pool that is kept very clean and has the most beautiful ocean view. The staff was excellent. Fresh breakfast with crepes (yum!). Rooms were simple. But everything was clean and the balconies gave a great view of the ocean. The ONLY downside was that we had some bugs in our room. Now, that could be due to our pizza box we left on the ground... but they were just little guys who we didn't seem to notice much after we removed the food from our room. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat as a great place to stay in Tamarindo.

"Excellent place to stay in Tamarindo."
10Globtrotter, 11 Février 2016

I stayed for a night here recently. Place is nice and clean and even though there is no fancy, glamourous hotel lobby, and its not on the beach, people who work here, give you unforgettable experience. Maricruz and Wendy are the main people in reception, speak fluent English, understands your needs so quickly and go out of their way to help you out. Wendy is such a friendly person, well versed and knowledgeable and she helped me out arranging my shuttle from Tamarindo to San Jose, when all shuttle offices were closed. As A MATTER OF FACT I PROMISED HER TO WRITE THE REVIEW AS SOON AS I COME HOME. Place itself is very convenient for all the shopping and beach acccess. I went to Diria for Sunset to watch with my friends who were there a night before , its a big resort, but here I felt like I was in my own home. My Villa was fully equipped with full kitchen, all utensils you may need, very roomy with bi level floor plan, easily can sleep a family of four ( Two adults and two children). Do not make a mistake of choosing another Best western in town , I guess its name is Best Westren Camino. That one is way out of town and its very difficult to commute. in this town. Taxis are few and private people charge you 10 /15 dollars for a short distance. That hotel is NOT IN A WALKING distance to town. Included Breakfast is lousy in this hotel, nothing much except some pancakes and boiled eggs. For make to order Omlette etc. you have to pay. Over all I recommend this hotel and I definately stay here again if life takes me to this area in future. MIKE.

"Decent room for the price, great view"
Vegandmore, 09 Février 2016

Great view from the deck if on upper floor. Room was ok, bit small but fine. Good place to stop over a night may not be the place for a week. Close to everything. Took 30+ minutes to check in for some reason. If you can get it close to 100 its fine but do not go too high. Decent pool but a fair amount of kids.

"Costa Rica Trip Highlights"
Quintin S, 01 Février 2016

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Best Western Vista Villas and couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were shown great hospitality and the staff were so helpful when trying to get around town. We stayed here for 9 nights and had absolutely no issues with the place. The pool was great with the running water fall and we couldn't get enough of the great food at the monkey bar. The rooms were immaculant and the laundry service really came in handy since we were staying for so long. A big thank you for making our trip so special and care free.

"Visited in 2010 and much different "
nean1974, 29 Janvier 2016

We visited in 2010 and loved it. It was the first place we thought about when planning our trip this year. Unfortunately a lot had changed. We were lucky if we got breakfast which was one of the main reasons we booked there. It was stated that breakfast was served until a certain time but that was not the case. In addition to the food being gone so was the coffee and when they brought more out it was cold. We noticed that many locals were using the facility. As paying guests it was hard to get a lounge chair or a seat in the shade. However the families that came by bus, brought their own food and drink took over the pool and chairs. Disappointing. Get more chairs if that is the case. Many places state the pool is only for hotel guests. Erik however was amazing. He was a great surf instructor and gave wonderful suggestions on what to do and see around Costa Rica. The rooms were ok. Housecleaning came each day. And the food that you could buy at the hotel was good, view was amazing.

"Funky and fun"
Wade P, 27 Janvier 2016

My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights. The room was small but very clean and pretty. Hot water was an issue our first night but seemed to resolve itself and was never an issue later. The staff at reception was friendly and helpful. There was a super rave/dance party at the pool late night, not really our style, but they moved our room to the back of the hotel. Free paddle/surf boards and super perk. Thanks Eric!! Nice pool, lots of kids ( possibly locals, I don't think they were hotel guests) great views!!

"Not for everyone depending upon your expectations"
bruce a, 26 Janvier 2016

This is not a quiet little hotel. You will hear your neighbors coming and going, and they had a very large and noisy party on Friday night until 230a in the morning equipped with a salsa band AND a DJ, but the had warned up in advance, and after some pleading, we were able to change our room to be further away from the party noise and miraculously slept fine. And the pool area, which is lovely, fills up with locals, so don't expect to get a lounge chair or have the pool to yourself. It can be a bit of a mob scene. There is definitely a "go with the flow" vibe associated with the hotel. On the positive side, the staff is super friendly, helpful and laid back. No complaints there whatsoever. The rooms, while smallish, are clean and fairly comfortable. The wifi works great. Breakfast may not have the greatest variety, but you can definitely fill up. Pancakes are excellent. The hotel arranges for free kayak and paddleboard rentals which is a HUGE plus. Eric is super cool and I only had to speak to him once to have the use of a paddleboard for my entire 4 day stay. So, weigh your options, check your expectations, and, if you take the mellowness and laid back environment, stay here.

"Good base for area"
PhilTheTraveller, 22 Janvier 2016

This BW is set on the outskirts of Tamarindo and is within walking distance of the town centre but far enough away so noise is not an issue. The rooms are set on a small hill side with some having ocean views, others garden view. There is a pool and bar above the rooms, you can even get drinks whilst in the pool. Our room had a garden view with a terrace onto the gardens. It had a good sized lounge with sofas, fridge, microwave, coffee maker etc. We were unable to get any channels on our TV but I suspect reception would have sorted that out if we had asked. The bedroom was medium sized but adequate, the bed comfortable although it did have a slight slope on one edge which meant we ended up closer than usual. The bathroom and shower was small but perfectly usable. Breakfast is self served by the pool and consists of fruit, cereals, cakes, boiled eggs, cheese, toast, tea, coffee, fruit. There are other cooked choices at an extra cost. The staff were friendly and helpful. The guy on reception when we arrived spoke excellent English and gave us useful information regarding the town. The bar and pool are also open to the public so Saturdays get a bit crowded as most of the locals get their day off then. Same goes for the beach and town of course.

"Perfect Tamarindo Accommodation "
LoGoneGirl, 22 Janvier 2016

Villa Vista was great! The location is so convenient as you are just steps from the beach and a short walk to great restaurants, shops and tour companies. The breakfast was delicious, with amazing fresh fruit every day. Additionally, the hotel restaurant serves delicious options for lunch and dinner and nothing beats a cold Imperial beer while lounging at the pool with an beautiful panoramic ocean view! The staff were very courteous and knowledgeable about the town. I also recommend renting snorkeling, surfing or SUP equipment from the on-site rentals! The manager is super helpful with fitting and advice for where to go. Our room was very clean and comfortable. And the gym was a great plus! I highly recommend a stay here!

"Perfect spot"
Paulwrose R, 20 Janvier 2016

We stayed there for the first two nights and the last two of our vacation. The last two was a itinerary change because we enjoyed the resort so much. Everything you need is here as well as easy access to the beach. The ocean views are fantastic! The extra efforts in the rooms by the maids were impressive....they take great care to spread flowers and are masters at toilet paper art! It was our second trip to CR but the first to Tamarindo. Next year we are coming early for at least one month. The room at the Best Western is already booked! Thanks Trevor (manager) for taking so much time chatting with us.

"Great surf hotel"
James N, 17 Janvier 2016

This was our my third trip to Tamarindo and I had decided to to try Best Western during my second trip here. So the four of us, two older surfers, myself and a friend from work, along with two younger surfers, my son and his friend had rented a car for a week of surf adventure. A very important consideration was that this hotel had great security. A 24 hour guard at the gated parking lot. It is also located across the street from the main surfing area, and very close to Witches Rock surf camp which is also a very cool hotel with a nice restaurant and a place to rent boards. We rented the Imperial room that had more than enough space to comfortably sleep us and we had a kitchenette. The staff was super nice and polite to us. They always greeted us with a smile and a "buenos nochas" . We felt very welcome and I assume that the management makes a point of this. Especially great was Eric, who lends out ocean equipment and gives surf lessons. He was always so upbeat and energetic. Very helpful with information and really wanted you to have a great trip. I also kept loosing my room key but the receptionist workers were always happy to replace it and never made me feel bad about it. The hotel has a restaurant, The Crazy Monkey Bar that has a complimentary and simple breakfast every day. You could have coffee while checking out the surf conditions. Every morning there were parrots in the surrounding trees and once a family of monkees even showed up. I had read some critical reviews of this hotel, and while there are higher end hotels available in the area, for our needs this was a good place to stay. You also have to remember that this is a poor country and if you have expectations of a typical higher class American type hotel your could have some disappointments. The kitchen had no oven and was poorly stocked. I wish the single kitchen knife had been sharpened. But overall we were comfortable and happy with our stay. Surfboard rental tip. Many shops nearby within walking distance and prices vary a lot. You can usually get a weekly rate and the ability to swap boards as you like. Beware of some shops that want to charge you for a minor pressure ding on the top of your board made from as little as your knee while surfing. I recommend that prior to renting that you know for sure what their expectations are. Witches rock is a great place to rent boards.

"AWESOME!!! Best views of Tamarindo Bay surf breaks."
Larry L, 13 Janvier 2016

This is the place to stay in Tamarindo if you are looking for the best bay view, friendly staff, clean updated rooms, large swimming pool, bar and restaurant with new menu. My wife and I have been stay at the Vista Villas for almost 20 years (I know that's hard to believe even for me!). Not sure how the manager Trevor finds time to continually improve the property and still has time to greet guest every morning at the pool side continental breakfast to add his local insite on where to go and what to see. If you are a beach lover or surfer this is the place to stay.

"Great hotel, Great Staff, Reasonably Priced."
Julia C, 10 Janvier 2016

We stayed for 9 days and found everyone here amazing. The manager Trevor takes great care of the hotel and their guests. It is within walking distance of everything, have snorkeling, boogie boards and even coolers for use free of charge. Continental breakfast was filled with fresh baked goods, fresh fruit and all kinds of wonderful stuff to fill you up for your start to the day. The pool is well taken care of with a water fall and great swim up bar. Would highly suggest this place and definitely go back again when in the area.

"Chill"
dore l, 03 Janvier 2016

Goode place. Swimming pool. Standard room is a bit small, but not suppose to stay in the room anyway ?? Clean. Breakfast included, but just fruit and sweet stuff mainly. But good hotel, good price :) Helpsome staff. Not far from the town at all.

"Great Value"
B S, 02 Janvier 2016

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was large, clean, and had a big terrace overlooking the beach. Complimentary breakfast was just OK. Pool area was clean and offered enough seating and a beautiful beach view. Bar had good drinks and an ample food menu. Location was perfect, an easy walk to everything yet in a calm spot. Wifi worked well. Can't say enough about Marisol in the front office! She was friendly, honest, helpful and always available. Would recommend highly, and if the opportunity presents itself will definitely go back ourselves!

"Excellent Ocean view, beach location and lovely staff"
Faz2121, 29 Décembre 2015

Pros : Location is perfect as you walk down the hotel and beach is right in front of you across the street. The room had an amazing view of the beach with nice porch to seat , relax on the wooden bench. We stayed in 101 room with ocean view and this room had almost 10 small recess lights which really brighten up the room and also the get up. Pool and restaurant area are super nice with adjacent to each other with overlooking a great sunset view from the roof ! Breakfast was delicious with lots of yum fruits which is part of the Tico's diet & american continental.Beach towels were given separately which we loved it . Cons: Hotel is just 300 meters away from the happening area like (main market) so when you walk out you may feel quite outside the hotel but if you walk 10 minutes you will be in different world.

"Treated badly"

Let me first say the property is nice, a 3 star hotel. That said, I attempted to check in after a long flight to Costa Rica and an hour drive from Liberia. Once at the hotel I was informed that they were overbooked and there was no way I would be getting a room there that night. I asked to be put up at a comparable hotel in the area but that request was refused. All the hotel would offer to do for me was to put me up at another location they had about 5 miles outside of town. I had all of two nights in Tamarindo on this trip and being placed in a remote location with literally nothing in walking distance was completely unacceptable. The hotel did give me a room for the second night of my reservation and even threw in dinner but that really didn't compensate me for the inconvenience they caused me.

"Worst hotel experience ever !"
Marie-Eve G, 16 Décembre 2015

After staying in several nice family-run 2 star hotels around Costa Rica, we were shocked at how disgusting this hotel was. The smell was terrible, like rotting toilet parts. The toilet barely flushed and would take at least 30 mins to stop running before you could flush again. There were spots of blood on the curtain and the safe didn't work. It was eventually fixed but it took so long we missed happy hour. DO NOT GO ON A FRIDAY!! The party at the bar was so loud we couldn't sleep until 2:30am. The employees were also very loud in the morning and the breakfast was disappointing. Only stale cereal, toast and fruit. Avoid!

"Gorgeous views, perfect location, super helpful staff"
elisabeth c, 11 Décembre 2015

We stayed in a suite (complete with fully stocked kitchen and living room) with a spectacular view of the beach. Our balcony even had a couch and a table and chairs for dining. The AC worked great and we felt super safe here the whole time. There is always either a police officer or man working the front gate and they are always aware who is coming in and out. The hotel was clean and simple and in a prime location on a strip where plenty of surf shops, restaurants, souvenir shops and also the beach are all within walking distance. There is also free equipment offered through the hotel (paddle boards, footballs, frisbees, etc). And definitely check out Eric who works there for the Salty Sols Surf School! I recommend this place for families and also for young people. We were there on a Friday in December where a huge party at the Crazy Monkey took place with a DJ and a live band playing salsa music. There was a fire performance and free drinks for an hour...super fun. The girls at the front desk were so friendly and helpful and booked all of our transportation in advance. The pool is also a great plus complete with swim up bar and showers to rinse off. The only con is the breakfast was kind of mediocre...nothing spectacular. But still delicious and enjoyed poolside with a gorgeous view

"Excellent Hotel for the Price"
Alyson E, 03 Décembre 2015

My sister and I stayed here in October and it was perfect for us. We were on a budget and this room was exceptional for the price we paid. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes walk to the beach (you basically just have to cross the street), close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The food in the hotel bar, The Crazy Monkey, is very good as well. Our room was beautiful. Small, yes, but we weren't planning on spending a lot of time in there anyways. The room was very clean when we arrived and was kept clean for our entire 7 day stay. Our room was located on the opposite side of the hotel as the pool/bar area so the Friday night noise was not a problem at all. There was some construction taking place during our stay which we were aware of from reading other reviews. Again, this was not a problem since we weren't planning on staying in our room during the day and that was the only time there was any sort of disturbance from the construction. The staff are the ones who really make your stay exceptional. They are very positive and friendly. Always making sure you are comfortable, offering suggestions on excursions, never making you feel like you are asking too much. I would come back here in a heartbeat for the staff alone.

"Almost on the beach! Good price!"
Caroline G, 01 Décembre 2015

Nice little place, the employees are kind and helpfull! Nice pool with a bar access. The hotel is just the other side of the street from Tamarindo beach, very practical. On the morning you will be able to meet a good surf teacher to get your in group or private lesson. Rooms are not big, but you wont want to stay in your room for long.

"DONT STAY HERE"
moe p, 01 Décembre 2015

Terrible Hotel... It is a ghetto. Save your money go somewhere else.. On Friday night monkey bar is bunch of busted old hookers,Filthy bathrooms and 18 year old kids learning spanish . Hotel pool was dirty. Rooms are small. Tararindo is worst part of Costa Rica... Stay somewhere else.

"Eh... ok good price "
User, 28 Novembre 2015

Ok hi I my sister and I recently stayed there Nov 10- Nov 14 . The front desk is amazing the PPL there are so nice! The pretty lady with the red hair was a complete sweet heart! The room tho. .sheets weren't clean, pillow sheets not clean, floor could've been swept they were dirty. Other then that we had a great time in Tamarindo!!! This hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach there's so much to see!!! To get English TV press MTS BUTTON front desk didn't know that one. I recommend the victor hugo valle de esquipulas tour it's $30 each for a 2 1/2 hour tour in his boat . His brother Rafael roams tamarindo beach for customers. He's also a great guy. Support the locals guys!! If you see them tell them Ticas from Chicago say hi!!! Crazy monkey bar has great food! Hotel was ok for price just please cleaner next time!!!

"Don't Book a Twin Room"
TrailblazingWendy, 12 Novembre 2015

Oh, my goodness. My traveling companion and I booked a twin room with an ocean view. The room was so small that there was barely 2 feet between the beds, on either side and at the foot of the beds to the wall. The view from the terrace was exquisite. That said, the view did not make up for the disappointing room. It was so small that there was not even a reading light. We stayed 2 additional nights although upgraded to a tropical suite with a view. The latter was spacious and good value.

"Great hotel for the price"
Dduarte84, 04 Novembre 2015

I just came from Costa Rica I spent 5 days and the hotel is good for the price is located crossing the street from the beach and they offer free breakfast with the room. Staff is friendly and helpful. On the other hand I did not like the country at all I was there to book the venue for my wedding and I went to all the beaches in the guanacaste peninsula and Golfo de papagayo and the beaches are nothing as they are advertised. The sand is dark the only clear water and beaches are in the Caribbean and the locals said is dangerous. There is small villages not even towns and everything is very expensive is very like a jungle or a place for a surfer who likes pot nothing much to do. I suggest to rent a car if you are driving around there is not signs and I suggest to bring a gps overall the hotel is good but I would never go back to Costa Rica.

"Not Recommended... Loud, Not Clean"
John Jason L, 30 Octobre 2015

I would not recommend staying here, we had several issues, including noise and room cleanliness. There is no "Ocean view". I will upload a picture, but I paid for an upgraded oceanview room, and you while I was on the ocean side, trees block the view. Don't bother paying. The free breakfast is cold cereal and a couple pieces of fruit, including some horrible watermelon which was very disappointing considering the watermelon has been mind blow-ing-ly good everywhere else in CR. Also, They're a bit deceptive about the price... there is a huge banner that says, "stay here three nights, get a 4th free". That only counts for the walk-up book in the lobby price, which over 3 nights is actually more than just booking 4 on the website. The room was not clean (see pictures). There was sand on the floor in the common area and a couple dead ants on the bed. The A/C was also off and EVERYTHING was unplugged. That, combined with the fact that I do not think the room was used in a while (I went in the slow season in October), made for a moldy/musty smell in the room (CR is very humid, and enclosed spaces without A/C will get this in a hurry). The couch cushions were actually moist to the touch. They offered to move me but the other room was the same way. The service was ok. Expect to pay for everything. There was not a Do Not Disturb sign in the room and so the housekeeper knocked and then argued with me about whether or not the room was getting cleaned (I was in conference calls the first day and had arrived at11:00 PM the night before, it did not need it the first night and I needed the room). WARNING: They "host" ladies night at the restaurant on Friday Night. This is 9:00 PM-2:00+AM. I was not informed about this until I got a letter on my door Friday afternoon offering free earplugs. The earplugs helped with the noise when the band was playing, but not the bass when the DJ was. If you're planning on going to ladies night, its great, you get free entry and you don't have to worry about transportation, but, if you're planning on going surfing in the morning, or you have kids, this is a horrible situation. Plan on no one sleeping until 2:00AM or later.

"This place simply rocks!"

If you are looking for friendly hotel staff, clean rooms and excellent value, the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas is the place to be! We are in Costa Rica for 3 months and decided to extend our stay here after seeing rental properties in other parts of town that could not meet our needs. The staff are very kind and helpful. This includes everyone from the maids to the front desk to the bar and wait staff. Everyone is always hard at work but always stop to say hello in the morning. All of our requests have been met promptly and to our satisfaction. Our children are loving it here! The pool is their favourite part and we use it daily, sometimes twice in one day. You cannot beat the incredible ocean view from this hotel. Regarding the Friday night parties at the Crazy Monkey Bar & Restaurant: It is slightly disruptive but you are given fair warning. We, unfortunately, have small children, so it is difficult to get them to sleep these nights. But you can request the rooms furthest away from the restaurant when you book. The front desk staff are really accommodating and always make sound recommendations. The walk down the Tamarindo strip is not long, contrary to other reviews. It is pleasant and safe in this area. The Best Western locks their front gates and have a security guard in place during the evenings which is reassuring for hotel guests. I would definitely travel here in the future.

"You get way more than what you pay for!!!"
MMGLA, 24 Octobre 2015

I read a lot of reviews when trying to find a place to stay in Tamarindo, and I am so happy to have found Best Western. That said, we somehow got upgraded to a tropical suite. So keep that in mind when reading my review. Some of the things I loved about the hotel: -The view. Based on my research prior to the trip, there aren't any other hotels with this view -Walking distance to everything in Tamarindo. -The swim-up bar. I read a lot of complaints about locals using the pool. I didn't think it was a big deal at all. We met a few locals and enjoyed chatting with them. The pool was never packed while we were there. If you want to enjoy the pool with less people, I recommend a night swim! -The balcony!!! So nice to have a beer on the balcony and watch the sunset. -Fantastic AC. It was very hot while we were there. -The price. This is a nice hotel with stunning ocean views and they have rooms for under $100 a night. That doesn't exist where I'm from (Southern California). The Friday night party was loud, but we were warned. I saw it all over tripadvisor, all over their website, and of course they warned us while we were there. We went out there for a bit, but felt too old to be there! So we decided to just sit on our balcony and listen to the party. It was fun! I always travel with BOSE sound proof headphones, so I just threw those on when I went to bed. If you can't sleep through a loud party, then don't stay on a Friday. Don't avoid this hotel for that reason though. You will miss out!

"Great views, nice balcony, but beware which room you book"
Thomas K, 17 Octobre 2015

An important comment to start with: this review is exclusively for my room which was a nice room with a balcony facing the ocean. There are quiet some very small rooms with small window without balcony, if I would have stayed in one of them my rating would be one star. So keep this in mind and be very careful which room you book!! I stayed in the BW Tamarindo for four nights in October, which is off season. When I got there at noon I was told that I have to wait until 3 as the rooms are still being cleaned. When I got back after 3 it still was not ready. Remember, it's off season and the hotels have less then half of the rooms occupied, most even way less. I was quiet annoyed as I think 3 is already a late time for checking in. Sometime around 4 I finally was able to occupy my room. The young guy at the reception tried all he can, but it seems the hotel has not enough cleaning stuff so I put this on management. It goes in line with the experience of the following days when my room was still not cleaned at 3pm (no, I did not have the "don't disturb" sign on the door). My room was really nice, although small it had all I needed. A very comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, a safe, good wifi, and enough space for my stuff. BUT, with two people in the room it would not have worked out well because it's really not big. One of the big points the hotel makes into my review is the nice balcony with an incredible view to the ocean. This place made my days as I spent quiet some hours here, reading, relaxing, writing mails. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and for my taste completely sufficient. And the American waiter in the morning was by far the nicest person in the entire hotel, besides the poor young guy at the reception who had to deal with angry guest because of not timely check in. Both did a great job and are examples of good people understanding the word "service to the customercustomer". The pool is also nice terrasse has a breathtaking view to the beach. Towels are provided but no umbrellas against the sun. So be aware. The sun is heavy, even on a cloudy day. Service in the restaurant is very poor, I tried to get a sundowner one day and the guy doing the bar told me happy hour is already over. I asked when happy hour is and he told me until 6. It was 5:30 when I asked this. This is what I call cheating on customers which I don't accept! So, this was the one and only time I put feet into the restaurant. Knowing that most hotel restaurants have poor service (at least in middle priced places) I don't count this into my review. Location is at the far end of Tamarindo, for me a very well location. To get to the beach one only has to cross the street. Tamarindo itself is another story. I am travelling Costa Rica now for 15 years and unfortunately most of the nice places from years ago are now on the way down, all americanized places, loosing their paradies spirit. Same with Tamarindo. It became an all English, all expensive beach city. Be aware at night, and even on the day, there are strange people offering drugs on every corner. Very sad to see how formerly incredible nice small towns get run down so badly. I still give four stars as I want to rate the hotel and leave my views of bad regional developments out of the rating. But as I said at the beginning be aware what room you book. For people who are aware about this side of Costa Rica the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas is a great option.

"Pura Vida Mae"

The Best Western in Tamarindo is the most economically satisfactory hotel in the area. Situated right across the road from the beach, you don't pay the extra cost of being ocean side but still enjoy the stunning sunset views from the second floor rooms. The double-decker pool is awesome, from the top level you look across the pool and can see the ocean and mountains in the background. The bartenders are awesome, hopefully Dejanas is still there she was amazing! Incredible restaurants down the strip. We walked everywhere to grab a bite to eat. The Ocean was by far our favorite restaurant. The tables are right in the sand along the beach and prices were EXTREMELY reasonable. The same waitress served us three nights in a row and remembered us every time, so sweet. I definitely plan on returning and won't stay at any other hotel or resort. I think the only downside to this location is the locals call it "TamaGRINGO" due to the overwhelming population of tourists in this town. Other than that, the Best Western is the way to go.

"Affordable, convenient hotel with the best Hotel Bar/Pool in Town!!!"
carolynrechel, 02 Octobre 2015

This hotel is the best thing that happened to my family when we visited. The rooms are pretty basic, but have everything you could possibly need - comfortable beds, extra long cement couches with thick mattresses that double as extra sleeping areas, a kitchenette, clean/functioning bathroom, and a porch that has views of the beautiful gardens, iguanas, and monkeys in the trees. But the best part is the hotel bar on the roof of the Best Western. It's called the Crazy Monkey and had the best service around. There's a great pool with a swim up bar and the food served is delicious. They'll also cook anything you catch on a fishing trip. The only downside is that it's at the far end of the Tamarindo strip, so there's about a 1/2 mile to mile walk to the Tamarindo Circle. But the hotel is directly across a small street from Tamarindo beach and there are gorgeous sunset and ocean views from the rooftop bar. All in all, it's an excellent and affordable way to see Tamarindo. BTW - my trip was in March 2013, not 2015.

"I expected a lot more from Best Western.."
MissAEE, 29 Septembre 2015

I like 'Tyson L' below was disgusted by the standard of our room and expected a lot more from Best Western. The bathroom was smelly, shower horrible and dirty and the shower curtain stank. The couches in the living area were smelly and we had to put down towels to even consider sitting on them. The bed was old and squeaky, you couldn't even turn without waking up. On top of that both the fan and aircon was so old they were both making so much rattling noices it was impossible keeping them on when trying to sleep. We stayed 3 nights and I had the worst 3 nights sleep I've had in a long time. Will never come again.

"Great View!"
Debora D, 28 Septembre 2015

Great ocean view, conveniently located at the beginning of Tamarindo beach but away from the busy part of town, front desk staff very nice and helpfull, room was clean but bedding and towels desperstely need to be renewed, pool towels are located at the reception I wish they were closer to the pool. Security 24h to come into the parking lot

"Would return"
Mike P, 28 Septembre 2015

Very good all around. Beautiful lawn with patio overlooking main street, beach and ocean. Rooms had air conditioning which was a must while we were there. House keeping was excellent as well. The pool with swim up bar was fun at lunch when the sun at the beach might be a little too intense for some vacationers. All in all a very pleasant and reliable stay!
