From the irresistible boiled yam and palava sauce to the flavourful seafood pizza, every dish tantalizes the taste buds. While the hotel offers pools for relaxation, the nearby beach beckons those seeking seaside serenity. However, guests should note that the rooms facing the pool lack outdoor banisters, limiting the view to the outside. Although not pet-friendly, the hotel's amenities cater to every other need, ensuring a memorable stay for business and leisure travelers alike. As I navigated through the hotel's spacious and elegant corridors, I caught glimpses of tantalizing offerings that piqued my curiosity. Unfortunately, time constraints prevented me from fully exploring these hidden gems, but their presence alone left me eager to return for a more indulgent experience. Among these treasures are the tranquil spa facilities, where guests can unwind and rejuvenate amidst serene surroundings. From soothing massages to invigorating treatments, the spa promises to melt away the stresses of daily life, leaving guests feeling refreshed and revitalized. For those seeking entertainment and excitement after dark, the hotel boasts a vibrant nightclub that pulsates with energy and music long into the night. Whether you're dancing the night away with friends or enjoying a signature cocktail at the bar, the nightclub offers a dynamic ambiance that guarantees a memorable evening. As I bid farewell to the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, I do so with a sense of anticipation and excitement, knowing that my next visit will be an opportunity to fully indulge in the luxury and decadence that await within its walls. In summary, the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel epitomizes luxury and comfort in Takoradi. Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, this hotel is a top recommendation for an unforgettable experience in Ghana's Western Region.
Great Experience. Staff at both locations were great. however, no buffet for dinner. the place is accessible to various location. nice sea view and good swimming pool. the bar staff are friendly and provides customer care.
Best hotel in Takoradi and has been for many years, good service in all areas, very good well lit rooms which are a good size, sea breeze and sea view, I have stayed hear many times over many years and keep coming back as I can't fault the service, location or value for money
As already suggested, re-surface your car park and maintain the few plants/flowers available, I prefer staying at the Hotel anytime I visit Takoradi. Moreover, security measures should be strictly enforced
Good royal experience, room spacing lovely, sea view awesome, cleanliness and room maintenance was great. The cuisine culinary art practiced or manner of preparing food or the food so prepared met my expectations. The internet speed so swift all through the hours. Great experience so far.
I had a wonderful stay at the facility and every service was on point. I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. I would recommend the hotel service to anybody who wants to experience the best of the Western Region.
Excellent booking formality, reception, and great atmosphere. The staff are very professional and helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the 5th floor and the well-kept rooms. The Saturday night band was a top-up service to enjoy. Definitely a place to repeat
This is a great hotel and one could be forgiven that you are not somewhere really exotic. The bar and food were great although some of the serving ladies should remember to smile more! The ladies at the front reception were very friendly and smiled all the time. The rooms were sufficiently large with clean bathrooms and linen. Definitely would return
An excellent hotel with all the amenities that you require. The rooms are decent and their food is super good . Also. The staff are friendly and courteous. Anytime you are in Takoradi, I recommend Best Western Hotel for you.
My general experience was simply woow, the atmosphere was one of a kind. A very serene one for that matter with a beautiful view. I enjoy my sleep as well as the amazing breakfast served. In all I will say keep up the good work to making Ghana proud.
We booked here about a year ago for our niece's wedding. Our room was average, toilet did not flush well, vent in bathroom has never been cleaned, uncomfortable bed and pillows, no kleenex in room, pool closed. The bride's parents room had mold and had to switch rooms. Hotel was apparantly fully booked so not sure what they did with the "moldy room". We went down to restaurant to have breakfast on the Sunday but were waiting for other family members to join us. We ordered our breakfast and at 10:03, a couple more family members came down to join us. Well, they were told that breakfast ended at 10am and they could not get breakfast! 3 minutes after 10am!! And, being a weekend and checkout is 11am, why would breakfast end at 10am??!! Our waitress was very understanding, not her fault. But she did agree that on weekends, they should make cutoff for breakfast later. She said she will mention it. The restaurant is called "Legends of Hungary". I asked the waitress about the restaurant name and she said the people who ran the Hungarian restaurant walked out in 2019 and never came back! Why is it still called this? We have stayed at other Best Westerns and they were nothing like this location. According to a worker there, the first floor is aweful and all rooms on first floor should not be booked. A little disappointed.
It is definitely one of the best hotels in Takoradi but little has been done to this hotel in the last 5-10 years. Labour is very cheap in Ghana and yet the hotel shows its age in many places. The room itself is OK although plug sockets didnt work with UK 3 pin plugs, bathrooms just need more maintenance/cleaning/updating. I always get a sense of dampness from the AC, dont know what causes it. Food is actually pretty good although can take forever to come, swimming pools are great although again, could do with someone cleaning the scum from the water level around the pool. Reception area constantly seemed very hot, AC not working.
Such a nice place. I enjoyed the sea breeze. Neat room, fast wifi, good customer care service and food is pasty and hygiene. The gym was up to starndard and swimming pool was clean. I will always be there during my stay in Takoradi
Big parking space and easy to get access. Good security arrangment and support staff to deal with any issues. Food and all meals we had were great. Tables are well spaced out and the view is great. Both inside and outside seating available.
Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi, provides the best out-of-home experience. From the airport shuttle, reception to room check-in, room setup and the ocean view, restaurant and food varieties, every service seems tailored to make your stay a memorable one. The team is very responsive to customer requests and it makes staying there a comfortable experience. Kudos to the great team!
Have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. Did not disappoint. It's home away from home, in terms of relaxation after a long travel time. The service at the front desk was prompt and enabled us get to the room quickly and change as we were both tired after a nearly 4 hour drive. The WiFi access was great and internet was reliable without long delays as experienced elsewhere.
The hotel location, service and food is amazing…bed linens were very clean and spotless. Bathroom towels very clean, spotless and scent free. Rooms very spacious and cleans with a great view from inside overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
it was a nice and memorable stay at this hotel. Everything was on point. They were polite and courteous and ready to help. I think there should be a way to warm or heat food for guest who have kids. I had a challenge getting a microwave to heat food for my kid who was hungry and the food was in the fridge. Thanks
The objective was to use the swimming pool at this hotel but when the receptionist advised us of the price £9.18 per person I thought we'd take a rain check. I say this because back in Accra we had the use of an outside pool and it was only £4.59, were these prices because we were nearer the sea?. There was no one in the Hotel's pools anyway, figures, at that price I'll wait to have a shower where we were staying. Surely you'd rather have some paying and using the facilities other than not? probably I'm using the wrong business model?. As we couldn't swim we sat down for a drink on the upper level. Service was at a pace where snails travelled faster!. At least the prices weren't extortionate as per access to the pool prices. We did notice ladies of the night in this hotel!. I think you know what I mean when I say "ladies of the night". They were under dressed for tourists, smelt like they'd been dipped in a perfume factory and adorned skirts that were so short you could see the sun shine whenever they moved!. They were sat with white men and to be honest, they didn't look like friends/family, it was so clear to see and out of place but hey, it's business. I've never seen it before in Ghana and this is my 2nd coming, maybe things are more relaxed now!. The staff looked over in capacity, a lot were standing around chatting which means too many staff. If only they concentrated more on the customers it would be better than what do I know about hospitality, I'm from the UK and everything's failing, at least we're guaranteed the cold weather.
We stayed here for a Christmas break to Edinburgh. So convenient, has car parking and a bus stop just outside into to city centre. The staff and wonderful, go well above and beyond in every way. Food is great and the rooms are large with very comfortable beds. Will be back.
Will always recommend this facility to people I come into contact with providing they have the purchasing power to afford. The facility must also keep to the standard set because deviations from it will have a tow the business.
Clean rooms and Wonderful Meals. Professional services by workers from reception till I entered my Room. Beautiful and clean pool side demarcations to ensure patrons safety. My foreign colleagues who have slept at the hotel continue to express their best experiences.
We stayed to connect with family for an early holiday get together. Staff was all extremely welcoming and helpful!!! Rooms were modest but clean and actually what we needed at a great price. We'll stay again when in town.
Assessment of hotel. Great experience. Nice hotel with excellent sea view and excellent staff. An experience among experiences. There's the need to educate patrons on the operations of gadgets especially the hot water system. Security is great
Warmly received at the front desk, courteous concierge, great food, great ambience, great view of the Atlantic, comfortable room. The premises are VERY neat and clean and staff were very courteous. It was a very pleasant experience
The best western leamington Ontario has so many problems I'm sad to say. On check in our room had no towels, no phone, no alarm clock and no shampoo. The HVAC in our room was broken and made a terrible helicopter sound all night and day. The balcony on the atrium was very noisy and bright which was difficult trying to sleep with a family. The pool full of human hair and cracked tiles. When we put a make up room sign on our door day two only towels were given and beds not made and coffee not replenished. The nice touch of coffee and water in the lobby but coffee was always empty and you had to ask. Water tasted like the container needed washing. Staff tried but felt defeated. Go to point peele do not stay here
overall experience is a lot,it is a business trip but my stay in hotel and entire twin cities, Sekondi-Takoradi turned to tourism in a way, availability of power supply, serene environment, peaceful people to behold and well organised local inhabitants ,I wish to come back even with my family
Breakfast and dinner was awesome. Environment, reception the workers are nice and beautiful ladies. They're on point. They've got lots of activities, gym, swimming pool, casino and serine ocean view. Live band to spice up your stay is also available.
We visited this hotel at the end of June . Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was extremely clean with superb rooms which included a welcome pack of biscuits and coffee . Shirley, Jessica and all the staff members were exceptional and could not do enough for us. Breakfasts were extremely good - so well done to the chef as everything was fresh and beautifully presented . We will revisit as we were very impressed . Well done and thank you to a professionally run establishment .
Had a fabulous stay at Best Western Hotel in Takoradi, Ghana. My 2 days at Best Western was the highlight of my trip. Staff were efficient and friendly and rooms are awesome. Facilities were fantastic!!
The pool area is beautiful and a nice place to relax. They also have clean rooms and the friendly staff. Property is big and i had nice view of the sea. The breakfast was good and they had some nice ice cream that's cools you in the afternoon when the sun is so hot
Of all the places and hotels I have visited, this is the best Services are excellent, the staff are extremely helpful and courteous the environment is clean, natural and offers a good ambience for self reflection, conference and or business meeting
First experience in the best western hotels.. They are professionnal indeed… From airport pick up till services.. very good. I must mention one thing especially that in the restaurant chef isaac and sarah … they did a good job ( special food) when i had terrible diarrhoea. Especially restaurant supervisor Miss Anita took care of me like a mother. God bless her. All staff in the restaurant very polite and helpful. Security wise its also a good hotel.. The view of the hotel beautiful.. I cant say any negative thing about them. The best in Takoradi…
Nice Hotel. Very clean rooms, good quality breakfast and friendly staff members. Nice sea view from the room. Very lively and friendly environment. I strongly recomend this hotel to anybody visiting Takoradi.
Overall experience was very good. Great hospitality and adding to this Ocean view from rooms is mesmerizing. Food in the restaurant is good with different cuisines served on different week days. Nice pools.
Great place, home away from Home. i enjoyed my stay and had good time in a very wonderful location of the Atlantic Hotel. Most grateful for the follow up culture by all staff from Check in to the restaurant and also the Airport pick up which is always available.
I Enjoyed My Stay The Hotel, I Liked The Swimming Pool, Gym And The Food At Restaurant. The Staff In Hotel Are Cordial And Lovely. I Love The Sea View From The Hotel. Check In And Check Out Fantastic. I Really Enjoyed My Stay.
Hotel well situated, staff professional, food best.Covid Protocol:well respected and enforced.Security Infront efficient and serious. Music week end , good.Fit club clean. Swimming pool clean. Thank you all, expecially the Management staff, not forgetting the Porters.
Stayed in one of their chalets for 6 days with my family and we had to run to another hotel because we got tired of taking cold showers. The hot water when turned on initially becomes hot for 1 sec then quickly turns to cold. After reading other reviews on Google, I realized that other clients had complained about the hot water issue but it still has not been fixed. We made several complaints to the front desk and they will come but could not fix it. The Wi-Fi has a mind of its own and works whenever it feels like it. The shower has some grout and dirt. Aside from the view, this place was mediocre and did not live up to its exorbitant price.
Decided to hit the coast for a weekend break, searched on line and the first good place that popped up was the Best Western. Booked and took a drive there. When we got there, we were welcomed warmly, check in was brisk and we were taken to our rooms. We had a fantastic stay, good time at the pool with great food and service. I recommend this hotel to whoever wants to visit Takoradi
Extremely great hotel services and nice pool and food to enjoy. Last week my familyI had the privilege of staying for three nights at your beautiful hotel, This hotel was the perfect place to get away for a few days and we enjoyed every minute. We were given one of the rooms in the original part of the hotel that overlooked the ocean in the fifth floor. It couldn't have been any better. Please convey my appreciation to anyone else responsible for making this a very memorable stay for my family especially the Executive Chef and his team. The Best Western hotel was truly a place I will long remember/ Bless you all.
Spent a week between Christmas and New Year's and really enjoyed my home away from home on the 6th floor with an amazing view. The New Year's eve dinner by the pool under the stars was excellent. Staff were very welcoming, warm and attentive. Shout out to Fred at breakfast, Hilda, Jane and Sharon at the poolside and of course Christian the pool attendant. The facilities were excellent, spent a lot of time in the pool and enjoying the wide variety of food and wine. Did not try the gym or spa but they looked great. The in-house hair salon was very good. Breakfast in bed is a must have. Lots of options for a vegetarian on the menu and 24 hour room service. International sports and news channels were great - kept up with my football and global news. The beach is also a short walk from the hotel if you can drag yourself from the pool. A big thank you to Cecilia for helping to organize my stay.
Everything about the hotel is fantastic. Only that there should be more options for the fresh fruit juices. I love fresh fruit juice. The service, the professionalism, the facilities, the location, it's all on point for me.
The sea view from the room was very good. The location to town was vey close and they hotel was a few meters from the sea. The amenities in the rooms and the entire hotel were great. The rooms were clean and the food was not bad.
Best western plus hotel is such a wonderful place I e even been.they have a wonderful building with nice room:)they have a big reception, restaurant, pool side, pharmacy and very big compound and a car park.thank u
A very conducive environment for leisure and relaxation. I will therefore recommend Atlantic Hotel to anybody who want to have a memorable experience away from home. the staff are spot on and are ever ready to receive you from the entrance of the hotel through your check in and checking out
Truly the Best stay away from home. Hotel staff very professional, Food excellent, atmosphere friendly, room clean, facilities super. located near a private golf club where you can play. The swimming pools are clean.
In terms of breakfast Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel Takoradi is my number 1. Beautiful place, beautiful pool, I like the environment, I always enjoy the Chalet whenever I visit. I have a recommend anyone who wants a nice and secure hotel to put Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel Takoradi
Best Western has very serene and fascinating atmosphere to feel home away from home. I recommend it for anyone who puts much value on quality service. The environment is very clean with a lot of orderliness.
As a seasoned traveler from New York City who has been to more than 50 countries, million-miler of Star Alliance, Platinum for Life of Marriott Bonvoy, and Diamond Select of Best Western Rewards, I tend to have high standards on where I stay. Having had so many unique experiences around the world from many different hotels, at this point in my life, I simply appreciate those that genuinely strive to provide their guests with the best experience they can have. This has been the case at the Atlantic Hotel. From the friendly greeting I received upon arrival, to the porter that places my luggage impeccably in my room with the most beautiful panoramic view of the ocean, to the service I get in the restaurants and pool area, I must admit that even though I have the stayed during the past decade at the most acclaimed hotels in Ghana, the Atlantic Hotel is the BEST!!
We had the pleasure of staying here for three nights. Yes, expensive but for us a "once in a lifetime" Trip so we splurged the view was amazing, breakfast wonderful, Inquiring about stay.. Everything clean. Close to attractions. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. COVID 19 protocols were adhered to among the staff. There is a temperature check and hand wash station at the entrance of the hotel lobby. There are also hand sanitizer stations at vantage points. The hotel manager is very nice.
I think its a great hotel on the outside and inside but there should be more personal engagement with guest to ensure they are okay and comfortable. I expected more but was a disappointed thats why i am giving an average of 3. However the hotel ambience and surroundings are great and i am sure most people will attest to that fact. I just expected so much but they could not meet my expectation.
At hotel Canoe Bar the outdoors restaurant by near the pool, they really need a hostess and extra holiday wait staff cause once you walk in you will be ignored for 30 minutes! Then no menu given and tables and floors are filthy and in time of covid only wiped with tissue no cleaner?! No manager to be found but a nice supervisor appeared later to apologize. Still poorly staffed for Christmas weekend on a Saturday night with very good live band! But maybe bring your own food and drinks cause they don't seem too concerned. Among the worst time restaurant I've experienced in life abroad and Ghana.
Very good hotel. facilities very good. A few drawbacks: 1. Wardrobe door not fitting nearly fell on me. Room 511 2. I want to suggest placing toothbrush and paste in rooms 3. Shower caps for our female companions
Several business stays in this hotel and after three consecutive weeks of food being sent back not eaten you would think I had learned. But no - tonight im back for more disappointing food. The order for a simple cheeseburger with fries (anything slightly more simple had proven a disaster previously ie steak and fries and steak baugutte and fries) had proven impossible to get what was ordered and presented never mind palatable. Tonights delight was simpler cheeseburger with fries ie burger with cheese on top. What was delivered was chicken with bacon plus unidentifiable sauce and bits of veg All down to a simple spelling mistake the chef said.... There was two of us in the dining room only and the order was.repeated several times to the waiter. There is a total disconnect between the front of house and the kitchen I repeat this for the management get it right or i will not be back nor will any of my staff. Where is your supervision and to what standards. Ive had no apologies nor offers of a solution. A humble chef is not the answer Ive only given this one star as the site will not let me give zero...
This is the third time I have visited the hotel but the very first time since the emergence of covid-19. Covid-19 protocols are properly observed at this facility and there is no cause for alarm as far as your health is concerned. A very comfortable place to be.
Booking was easy online and we picked up from the Takoradi airport. Due to a mix up in our reservation we were all upgraded to superior rooms. The view is breathtaking the pool clean and WiFi super. The rooms were very clean and linen fresh. The staff had mask on at all times and at breakfast you are not allowed to go get your food without a mask on. A band played at the pool over the weekend the service was a little slow but courteous. The pharmacy on site had my medication as I had left my pillbox at home.
It was a great weekend, we enjoyed the Saturday night buffet....seafood night, the live band was great....will always stay here anytime we are in TAKORADI....clean rooms, clean bathrooms, great breakfast.
My 4-day stay at the hotel was great. Staff were polite and helpful. Though the menu seemed to have changed a bit, I enjoyed the food, especially breakfast and dinner. Effective covid 19 controls were in place; including strict hand hygiene and temperature screening at the main entrance, strict use face mask when not eating at the restaurant. On the whole the hotel service is great and safe.
Check in was smooth. We had issues 1. The bathroom was dusty. The first water to pour exposed the dusty floor in the bathroom. 2. There was a cat lurking around the chalets near their parking area. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel and enjoyed the breakfast too. I was driving through Takoradi with some friends last week and decided to stop by to have their buffet breakfast - it was great! I would definitely stay again.
A place I won't mind returning to. The environment was cool, and the view at the lounge was priceless. It is located at a strategic position which ensures a certain level of privacy. The chalets were well situated with no disturbance at all. I enjoyed the experience all in all
Personnel were very nice and were always ready to support. The food very good. The rooms were clean with standard decor, they were spacious and all equipment in the room were functioning ok. Internet was also ok
I enjoyed my stay despite some few challenges which are unavoidable. The hotel staff were very friendly and receptive and always ready to attend to your every need. The general impression about the place was wuite exciting and I would have enjoyed it more if it had been for leisure.
Very cool area for any occasion. Your food are excellent. Good food and very friendly environment. Your security was amazing love their service and friendly. Not forgetting the front desk ooh amazing they are. Really love to be back for more stay. Truly the best
I recently stayed in this hotel for three nights and it was a pleasant stay! Amid the restrictions they did a great job doing what they can to be helpful! The rooms are recently renovated and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was great hot biscuits and gravy, waffles eggs ect. Kayla, Amanda, Peggy were outstanding hostess! Thank you to each of them! I give them two big thumbs up and would recommend that everyone give it a try!
Nice hotel with a beautiful swimming pool. Personnel friendly and professional. Food is good. Many choice at the buffett. Rooms very spacious and clean. Beds really comfortable. Security guards at the hotel entrance seem unorganized and don't greet guests back. Friday and Saturday evening very very loud music so you can't sleep or hear your own television or enjoy a book.
Very good place to stay for business and leisure. The location is great within the city and has very good road networks around , to and from the city center The stay are very professional and responsive
AC and odour problems in room 281 were never solved. Most repairmen think customers are idiotic (“Did you turn the AC on?” - when the AC has been at maximum strength for two hours, and the temperature inside the room is around 25 C), and/or lie constantly (« It was fixed, sir »), when the bathroom smells revoltingly of stagnant water (to be polite) and perfume. One person did try to help (Charles), but was ultimately unable to deliver. Two awful nights (there's were other problems), and we were never offered any compensation, nor an explanation, other than the superficial “I am sorry” already mentioned. Very disappointed, as other Beat Western hotels are far superior.
I stayed there for almost one month. the location of hotel is very nice with awesome sea view with lot of facilities like pool, tennis court and gym.Rooms are big, nicely decorative and have an option of balcony where you can enjoy sunset. Staff is really nice and welcoming especially i would like to mention Mr. Kumar, the general Manager of hotel and would like to thank him for his Hospitality.
Excellent hotel with security on site. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. It was clean and overall the staff was friendly. You may want to bring your own towels as it seemed to be a problem to get washcloths and keeping clean towels in the room. Pool was excellent!
I stayed at the hotel for one week and it was nice .The service ,the vibe everything was perfect place .what makes the place is perfect it is near the beach. If the place has like discotheque it will be perfect .
The room i stayed in this trip was very good, always neat, room decor very nice and the position of the room very strategic. The house keeping was great and my best experience this time was how swift and prompt the breakfast served in room was whenever i requested .
I stayed at the Best Western Hotel on a Saturday night in January, 2020. I'm afraid that my experiences at hotels in Ghana have not all been pleasant. Ive always dealt with very nice people but too often they are either poorly trained or not trained at all, in customer service. I had just the opposite experience at the Best Western at Takoradi! The room was clean, as was the batroom and shower! And the air-conditioning worked well! But what impressed me the most was the quality of customer care. The hotel staff were friendly but not overbearing and did their best to meet my needs before I was aware of it - not waiting for me to express a need or complaint and then respond. The food in the restaurant was also excellent! I took advantage of the seafood buffet on this particular Saturday night and buffet breakfast the next morning. Both were excellent! This hotel isn't inexpensive but I felt like i got my money's worth! I'll be back - hopefully sooner ratherr than later!
Fantastic and fabulous hotel to stay in for both business and pleasure. It will be enjoyable on Fridays if the management include more bar entertainment in they could look at collaborating with an FM radio station in Takoradi so business people can unwind whenever they find themselves at the hotel over weekends
Best Western Atlantic is a very good option if one is travelling to the Western Region of Ghana. It's a great location with most rooms having a good view of the Atlantic ocean. The cuisine is good and I'll describe the place as family friendly, although it is a good business destination as well.
We visited the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. It was tranquil and had lot of activity. We played tennis in the mornings, swimmed, had spa treatment. We had a suite and rooms were spacious with a view to die for. Will definitely visit again. Also their raspberry martini was divine. Good service to add to all.
Services of Chalet facilities should be done quickly. Manager on duty should personally check each room that has been reserved before its visitors check-in. air-conditioner broke as there series of power outages
I had a chalet a bit away from the main block and was nice and serene, in a garden setting, beautiful flowers all over. Big enough pool and their food too was really good. Only issue I had was with the wifi, which was super slow.
Handled a busy conference with cocktail and entertainment very well. Food well laid out with numerous serving locations enabled slick service. Food was all local so to a foreigner it was good - don't know if a local would agree. Front desk could have been a bit more friendlier as her approach marred an excellent visit despite not being able to secure accommodation.
The rooms were cosy and well kept, and location is serene to spend a good time. Overall the services were excellent but to improve on communication of front desk staff. Breakfast was good with many options.
One of the best places on the globe. Their breakfast is superb. If you want a place for your relaxation, business conferences and holidays, then BEST WESTERNPLUS Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi, Ghana is the place
on the average, I enjoyed my stay at Best Western hotel. beautiful environment and good customer services. all my stay in Best Western hotel has been at the standard chalet and i love the room setup and location.
The room was nice and neat. The ocean view was great. The pool, tennis court and fitness centre was accessible and neat. The restaurant was welcoming and the food was delicious. Room service and laundry were on point.
The hotel service was great, reception desk attendants have great value and respect for clients and always smile great and are quick to respond to clients. The room design , location, arrangement and decoration and window view was very satisfactory to me. The location of the hotel is great a cool, calm , and in a reserved area. The free weekly coupon and the room view was the best.
3rd time in few months, different rooms and floors, but every time a disgusting smell of cigarette smoke coming in from the bathroom ventilation fan. Fast internet connection but unfortunately not reliable. Too often down with no connection at all (more of a general Ghana problem rather than a hotel fault). Bottled and soda water to be ordered and billed extra at dinner and breakfast (in a country where it is not advisable to drink tap water). Kind staff at the restaurant and bar, visible efforts to maintain housekeeping level above the standard in the area. Much better experience at the Atlantic than in any other hotel I stayed in Ghana, however there is still plenty of room for improvement.
The reservation process was super smooth within hours we got a confirmation and when i arrived at the airport there was driver waiting to take me to the hotel. The welcome was ordinary but room were super clean and comfy. The view in the morning was breathtaking and the breakfast not much to write home about. The wifi works great and on the whole the stay was worth it. Its a little pricey for the service though.
I was staying in Takoradi and was taken to the Best Western by my host. It's a lovely place, one of the nicest hotels I have been to in Ghana. It was a visit to the Terrace Bar on the first floor (the open bit directly below the Blue Squares. They have Django Craft beer which is made in Accra and we had something to eat which was very nice as well. There is a smashing view over the hotel grounds and overlooking the Ocean as well. We felt that the Hotel was not really taking advantage of the area that we were sitting in as there were only tables and chairs to the right hand side of the picture (for smokers). It would make a fantastic Bar Terrace that really shows off the Hotel Grounds.
Proximity to the beach and the Takoradi Golf course makes it very attractive. The in house saloon and spa services also enriches the experience, also the in house stores for garments and fashion accessories also come in handy when you want to grab something nice for an outing.
It's not cheap, it's not perfect. The lap pool is the best. The food ok but pricy. The service is good. Summary, the best quality in the city. You'll pay for that privilege. Sadly, it's not got beach frontage. When we were there it was very noisy with everyone playing their own radios around the pool area
The front staff were extremely courteous. Ocean view was amazing - that was my AHA moment. Internet service was very reliable - there was no interruption during my period of stay. The swimming pool is the best I have seen so far in my travel. My main attractions to the hotel are the location, the ocean view, and the swimming pool.
It was a beautiful place on the water. The service and food was exceptional. I would definitely recommend staying here. We stayed in the chalet and it was quiet and private. The pool was very clean and the service by the pool was very good. We were also available to drink wine and champagne by the pool. Overall the property was very clean and the staff was very accommodating.
This was like being in your own private villa! We stayed a week and the hotel is used by locals and oil rig workers. During the week we had all three pools entirely to ourselves. At the week end it is populated by local families whose impeccable manners put us to shame. The room had a terrific view of the ocean and pool and had good in room amenities. The breakfast buffet was good and the evening buffet was very good value. The airport transfer was comfortable and free. The Gym was well appointed and air conditioned after we learnt where to point the remote control which foxed us for the first day! The pool staff were just the right level of attentiveness. The portion sizes of the snacks were huge and we learnt to order one and share. The only downside was the air-conditioning in our room seemed to produce a lot of damp. This is obviously a known problem as there is a separate tiny dehumidifier in the room which is unable to cope. I don't know if this is a general problem but it needs to be sorted out and I noticed other trip advisor reviews mentioned this. Our clothes often felt musty and I have never seen this before in any other tropical hotel. I would be interested in comments from the management as the desk staff seemed not to understand. This aside we had a great time and are planning to go back next year.
Best western Plus hotel is one of the finest hotels you can find in Ghana, West Africa. Experienced, smart and kind reception awaits you anytime you arrive, and your security is always assured 24/7. All facilities in this hotel are classic and will recommend to anyone to experience it.
The hotel is old, the first room we checked into had water stains on the ceiling and the shower and sink were clogged. We initially booked a room with an ocean view however the window was cloudy so we couldn't even see the ocean. We complained and got another ocean view room which was much better however we still had an issue with the shower and sink (clogging) and the toilet leaked. It was not worth the price, very disappointing.
Men taking photos and sitting on your sun lounger and not leaving when asked, shower not working, blocked sink in new room and ‘staff' phoning my room to asked for my friend's room number (which obviously I would never give out to a strange voice on the phone) - as a woman alone, I did not feel safe at all. The male staff asked when they could come and visit me (as I'm staying in the city working). The staff were part of the problem - I definitely couldn't asked them for help when being harassed because they just joined in. I spent the weekend feeling like a zoo animal, with a mediocre, smelly room and staff who tried to make excuses rather than fixing the broken things. Very disappointed for the relative amount of money paid! Plus side: the pools are nice.
Being it business or leisure, the best hotel to be is Best Western. Great service, superb rooms and great live band during weekends. You'll never regret being there. The staff is always on point and you have a complete peace of mind as there's better security for your vehicle and your personal effects.
I called to cancel my reservations due to the lack of twin beds for a group of tourist. The lady I spoke with didn't cancel the rooms and I was charged months later $1100 for rooms that were previously canceled. Hotel management will not return my call and now I am stuck with an $1100 bill. Please avoid this hotel if you don't want frustration or unnecessary bills. There are different options in Takoradi. Try the Protea Marriott and the prices are very similar. When you can with the Marriott, you will not receive chargers for a hotel staff mistake. Everything is nice at the Marriott!
Lethargic & rude reception staff: Our room wasn't ready until 6pm, even though check-in's @ 2pm. When they found us a room, in their near empty hotel, it smelt of cigarettes & it had a sign on the bed saying, if we checked-out a minute late, they'd charge us 50% of a full day's rate - even though they'd checked us in 4 hrs late! The shower door & wardrobe doors didn't close, as if the hotel was tilting to one side & cleaning was poor. The music from the pool area disturbed us & the internet is too slow/intermittent. At breakfast, the butter was off (separated/clotted /milky) & the waiter wasn't shocked/apologetic – he just smiled & said “ok” before giving me another dodgy butter that'd melted, so we had no butter all week. Rosemund was nice, but then said, “Maybe its black people?” I disagreed & told her about the great people we'd met in Accra. Mr Mally (the Manager) just stood texting & didn't even look up. When we'd been at the hotel for 5 days, Cecelia (front desk mgr.) asked us for feedback. She was apologetic & offered us a free hotel meal & drink. So we ate in buffet restaurant & it was v.good, esp. the chicken stew. On the day before we left, Cecelia said she'd send someone to fix our remote control, shower door & drainage, but they didn't do so. On our last night, we had a meal in the hotel bar: Albert took our order, but didn't write it down. 15 mins later Samuel re-took our order because “Albert forgot” & then the manager; Mr Mally came & said this was the service “in all of Africa.” I told him to go away, because he was being racist & we'd received excellent service in Accra - my husband was born in Ghana too. So our final night was spoilt & again, when we complained, they said, “OK” or “yes please”. Before we left, Cecelia apologised again & gave us some gifts. Hotel positives: The pool, views, evening buffet & air-con'd gym. Advice: Please train your staff to not smile while apologising - it looks insincere/rude. Employ proactive /service-led staff. When there's an issue, keep your customer informed & act swiftly.
I was at the Best Western Takoradi for business and it was a great stay. The rooms were clean and renovated, reception responsive, and the breakfast, one of the most diversified I could find in Ghana. There seems to be a lot of entertainment for adults as well (tennis court, golf, large swimming pool). A bit overpriced, but worth for a business trip.
Awful staff at reception - VERY slow & didn't have our room ready till 6pm - even though check-in is from 2pm & they picked us up in the airport shuttle. Said our room wasn't ready, even though the hotel was near empty? Then took far too long (they do everything super slow) getting us to our room. Eventually, they found us a room in the near empty hotel and the room smelt of cigarette smoke. Things are broken in our room. To the manager- As a training tip, please train your staff to not laugh while apologising, because it looks very insincere & rude. Also, employ fit proactive staff, who are still hungry for the job. We've met so many lovely Ghanaians who would be so grateful for a job in this hotel. Finally, when there is an issue, keep your customer informed at all times & compensate them for bad service in some way - I didn't ask for compensation because I shouldn't have to. The atmosphere in the hotel is flat and depressing. The constant music from the pool area is irritating and the internet is too slow and intermittant. The ony positives that the hotel has are the pool, the views and the air-conditioned gym. There are better hotels in Takoradi.
I didn't stay at this hotel, but unfortunately hosted a business lunch by the pool. About 10 of us ordered lunch at 1.00 pm. At 3.00 pm my staff and I were forced to excuse ourselves from our guests and go to our next meeting, WITHOUT ANY FOOD. Even as we were leaving the staff maintained that the food 'was coming'. Hopeless staff and a two hour wait for no food. A total disaster of a place and I strongly recommend you go somewhere else.
I was there on business and I must say the seminar room was ok with a great view over looking the sea, in general the overall hotel had an inviting ambiance, variety on the buffet and friendly staff who showed me all the interesting locations in the city to visit
This trip was good. My only problem was the room service for food which came an hour late. I guess they had lots of orders but they apologized for the delay. The room was pleasant. I would gladly recommend.
Was a very nice and relaxing stay. Everything worked fine. Service and Hotel has real European standard. Only the everyday live music form the pool area was a little annoying. But they stop at midnight. Beds are very comfortable.
I enjoyed my stay. Service was excellent. I would come there anytime I'm in the Western Region. The only problem I had yesterday evening was the persistent light off. This is the first time during all my stay that it has happened.
Beautiful hotel environment, located very close to the Takoradi Commercial Port which makes it very convenient for guest on business assignment in the Port. Excellent staff, very respectful and helpful. As for the quelity and variety of food, it's second to none.
First of all, being a genius on Booking.com, and trying to book Best Western is a mess, first going to their reception where they dont understand when you say, the listed rooms is not on the list on Booking.com, wrong info all the way through. Had to book straight at the hotel, as Booking.com did not have the family chalet. the chalet was large, and they said it comes with a kitchen, well a sink and fridge with microwave and absolutely nothing else, so thats Kitchen in Best Western style. the price 300 USD per night, absolutely a RIP OFF dimensions, doors could not lock, found the toddler next to the Pool 200 meter away, so calling this a family hotel is a mistake. Had to push furnitures around to block the doors. The TV signal for DSTV, very few channels, you could not even look at CNN snow snow snow very bad signal, called the tech man 3 times, sorry no can do, and TV is small, 38 /40 inch, but nothing to watch. every where the hotel is depleting corroding getting tacky, all covered in loud music from 9 am where Canoe bar starts to play loud Nigerian mass music with autotune, which means everybody can sing. Best Western Takoradi is mentioned PLUS, I can only see a huge minus, and I checked out after 3 days, it was simply a mistake being there. The pools were filthy and bad visibility, the floors around the pools dirty. The food at Atlantic is another chapter of bad made food. It is basically evident that the Hotel is not well managed since I came here 4 years ago, staff is less helpfull, areas is just not the same, it looks more and more as a shelled ruin from the pool view, looking at all the dark tiles on white background tiles. was it a good decision to leave, 3 days 1000 USD ripped off. Now airconditions were also getting old and squrky and made loud noice through out the night
Room had AC and sewage issues. We called to complain several times but we got no response. We had to literally come down to complain before the issue was taken up. The AC was fixed but the sewage wasn't. The next day the problem re-emerged. We requested for a room switch. We had to also follow up on it several times till it was switched. The breakfast was really good. We ordered a burger for lunch and it came totally burnt. The second room also developed an AC fault. It was fixed the following day as promised but we were chrcheck out then so it didn't benefit our stay
great place to stay and value for money. please add more rooms. i have had to move to another hotel when i needed to extend my stay. I would rather stay at the best western than at a competitor's. Best Western is the hotel of choice in Takoradi for the value.
The service at Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel is great. The staff are helpful and they have clean and comfortable rooms. The view is great and the food is also good. This hotel is my first choice in the Western region, and I will recommend it to anyone.
Waiters and waitresses are not quick, takes you 30mins to serve you drinks...and take hours for a simple steak and boiled potatoes to be served, steak was tough, not well cooked and it was off with a smell.. nice place to be but definitely not to eat
Stayed for five nights on business. Was well looked after, with spacious room overlooking the swimming pools and sea - a beautiful view. Well away from tourist spots, so the hotel was quiet with a lovely warm swimming pool, which was immaculately clean. Smell? Nothing to worry about. AC? Worked fine, but I never use it - I like to live at 26 degrees. Buffet OK, but I only dined there once. Breakfast excellent with tasty omelettes made on the spot. Coffee good. Didn't use gym, but it looked good. Only criticisms: Lack of a good choice of fresh fruit at breakfast. Seat too low in the bedroom for working at desk. Fell off it once, trying to make it higher with pillows - not good. Sound insulation not that great, but you can't do anything about that. Would come here again, no problem
This is such a nice hotel with great facilities, including a well stocked gym, (which unfortunately smelled so strong, it was difficult to train in) a superb set of pools, tennis courts excetera. the big negative is the buffet, which is very limited, and i found some of the dishes challenging. the service was good.
this is my second time of staying here...am actually still here.My a.c. has gone off 4 times already. You call they come and fix it and it goes off again. This is the process everytime...food is mundane and am extremely disappointed in this hotel.
Great comfort away from Home. Western pleasures is what i would categorise Atlantic Hotel Takoradi. Great meeting point for business, and a great getaway for families. The salad bar could use more variety.
A very good hotel, good amenities, gentle stall, expensive for that place, average if not bad food. Comfort bed spacious room, large bathroom, quick internet connection. The Chinese food night was a large disappoinment. Terrible food everything else but Chinese ...
When my husband had to work in Tokaradi he would take me there and we would stay at the Best Western. Service is good. Food is very decent. The rooms are great. I could sit and relax for hours in one of the bars or near the swimming pools.
Hotel situated in a delightful area about six miles outside Bar Harbour. Large room with two Queen size beds which were extremely comfortable. Large separate dining room and a good selection of food generally both hot and cold. An excellent stop over.
Quite an unassuming hotel without too much flash on marketing gimmicks but heavy on simplicity and good quality of service. I stayed here by "mistake" having missed my flight schedule from Accra to Takoradi resulting in a 5hr drive from Accra. Given the relatively improved high quality and abundance of new hotels in Accra I was not sure what I would find in "Tak" at the end of my journey. Surprisingly enough the hotel met up to all I needed for a good night rest and provided required amenities in room to make my stay comfortable. The hotel has good security and Friendly staff greet you on arrival. Rooms are simple but quite comfortable and clean. The shower is also quite strong on flow and refreshing. However one downside was the room I stayed had a slow draining bathtub so I had to interrupt my rainfall shower occasionally. WiFi works reasonably well for simple business needs. For food and drinks there is a full bar in the lobby area which also serves food from the main restaurant. Breakfast is in the main restaurant and provides a good range of choices including freshly made items to your delight. For me a definite stay whenever I'm in the Takoradi area.
This is my second time of using this hotel within the past 1 year and its a place i would love to stay each time i am on a business trip to Takoradi I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends any day and at any time. Their services are exquisite and relatively affordable.
My family and I loved our stay here. The pools are fantastic - the children were delighted to see them after lots of travelling around Ghana. The rooms were great, both in the main hotel and the very spacious family chalet. Bar food was fine and we ate A La Carte in the restaurant on a couple of evenings which was good too. There's an ice cream bar, a decent gym and on the Saturday there was a great live band, not sure if that always happens. Overall, it was a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
Never again. I was forced to check-out at 3am to find another place to sleep. What a dump. Also the restaurant manager would not serve me food as he wrongly accused me of being with a group of troublemakers in the restaurant.
My husband and I decided to travel from Accra to visit here which is roughly about a 5 Hour Drive. Very small town where our family stays. We came just to get away from home. I'm from the states he's a Ghanaian. The hotel is more Americanized but the maintenance may need to be updated If they want to continue charging American prices. We had a great view the food is OK and breakfast in bed it was actually delivered. Hotel staff was very accommodating and polite which is normal in this area. What I did not agree on is me being a member of the hotel chain but I was not honored as a member in this hotel. The staff stated that it was not possible.
Great hotel. Service is fantastic. Sometimes bar orders get confused but just a case of lost in translation at times ?? Fabulous pool area with pool side bar/food service. A complimentary smart phone is also provided for your stay with internet, calls, ect, with gps and restaurant/shopping near by. Highly recommend ??
The hotel is located in the beach side of the town and has both accommodation, swimming pool and restaurant for residents / visitors. The breeze from the beach blends with their rich menu of food and drinks. The hotel is very spacious and can accommodate people with diverse backgrounds. The people are very hospitable and the hotel is best for a sundowner.
Would highly recommend this place..The room was very clean and the staff was accommodating. The air-conditioning didn't work very well in our room and the staff quickly sent someone to take a look. We also go a free upgrade which was very nice. Will definitely stay here again
I was disappointed with the suite as there were bed bugs in the linen, the Jacuzzi bath was broken and many of the fixtures were of DIY quality. Service was not as expected and I will not be visiting this hotel again
Our stay at this hotel was fairly decent, but it did fail to live up to expectations in some areas. There was a problem with the air con in my room that took nearly a whole day to get fixed (with an engineer always coming ‘right away' when I asked reception) which made being in the room reasonably uncomfortable for a chunk of my stay. Similar problems experienced by other people in our group were also sorted in a very lethargic way. That said the rooms were large and comfy, but not including things like an iron in a business focused hotel is a bit odd. We enjoyed the wine tasting one evening though, and both the breakfast and two dinners we had there (the Chinese and seafood buffets) were nice and fairly good value. Overall i would say it's a good hotel, but not a fantastic one.
Nice view, courteous staff etc. Good breakfast, gym and swimming pools were in good condition. Having access to local and interntional calls free of charge ( included in hotel costs) was a great bonus to keep in touch while away. Probably the best hotel in the Takoradi at the moment.
Abigail at reception was amazing and very professional and very meticulous, everything I asked for was done, and on arrival she was really nice to my wife and I, I think that will let anyone return to alantic
Beautiful exterior location around the hotel .Nice Atlantic ocean view from hotel friendly &help full staff rooms are neat &clean.. nice facility's weekly once Indian food menu in dinner. My suggestion please add Indian Breakfast weekly once...
I spent many weeks in this hotel during my 4 business trips and found it very good and very big, you do not feel yourself in jail inside, the rooms are very good and very illuminated, the stuff is always smiling with you, the pools are good, the gym also, saturday is a fish night and wednesday is indian buffet. the negatif point was the buffet which is a kind of a routine if you spend more than 6 weeks ( like me) in it, maybe because the long duration... i do not know ! the beach near it is not good to swim ...just you can walk to relax ! positif point is the bliss view you have from the rooms over the pools then the golf that reach the sea ! very very relaxing ! There is a restaurant near the pool, and i really like the service too, rather than going each day to the buffet, the meat chees burgers was very good ! just take it and enjoy the music show !
Stayed a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. Couple of issues involving slow check in and some pretty poor cleaning of the room. All issues were promptly rectified. Still remains a stunning location and our first choice destination when heading out of Tema.
i didn't sleep over but the hotel look clean and its a nice place where u can have a relax time...nice pool area and the food too is not bad...i was there with my family and all of us enjoyed the little stay with the ocean view from the terrace at the restaurant
Hotel location is very good nice views brilliant pool area. I arrived Sunday 25th February and took my things to my room, I went back to reception (18.00) and told them AC was not working, went out came back around 22.00 went to room it was still not repaired so I complained again. went to my room after lunch on Monday still not repaired. I complained 6 times for it to be repaired and they finally repaired it on Tuesday
I have been coming to this hotel for the past year without too much hassle, whether for lunch meetings or staying overnight. It is not a 5 star or even 4 star hotel, but it suffices for the reasonable price. Food good, service friendly, good views. My biggest issue is the terrible smell in the stair ways and bedroom upon entry. It smells like damp and is really not a nice encounter. The bathroom was clean but could definitively use a thorough scrub down or re-do as it still felt somewhat run-down. My biggest complaint; checking out on my last visit left me extremely stressed and disappointing with the service. I was assured the hotel shuttle would take me at 16:00 to the airport. At 16:30 i was again assured it would leave shortly. By 16:45 I jumped into the nearest taxi at my own expense (20 Cedi!) and left, and only barely made my flight check-in which departed at 17:30. If you can't get your guests to the airport on time, then don't offer the service and leave them waiting for staff who are late for work. Totally unacceptable. Also, the waiter advised me that the tip i issued on the bill would not reach him? If this is true, then don't include it as an option. I do not carry cash around in the hotel to tip staff. Nor do I appreciate the hotel miss-appropriating the tips. I will be staying elsewhere on my next visit.
I stayed in this hotel twice prior to my stay in Jan 2018. I think the standards are slowing washing away. It's not the worst hotel I've stayed in but it's also not the best. Just average. Food (especially breakfast) was basic. Service was basic. Everything from the time I checked in till the time I checked out was substandard.
The Hotel Looks, Location, facilities, restaurant, Bar etc. are all very good and appear to be not very old giving an initial impression that the stay shall lead to an excellent experience. But was in for some negative surprises quiet astonishingly due to Management and human issues of the staff as follows: The Hotel is in a Malaria High Risk area, but could see many mosquitoes in the badly lit bar, either the Management does not bother, or they are strangely unaware. When I complained to the Bar Manager and asked for more illumination, I was advised to shift to the Restaurant nearby which had much better lighting and was promised that they shall fumigate the bar same night. Next night visit to the bar had same story, mosquitoes. The pools although look excellent but there is a lack of proper cleaning, water surface has lots of floating particles / small feathers etc from birds flying around nearby. Normally good hotels overflow their pool every now and then and this cleans the water surface completely but here that's not the case. The triangular pool near kids pool has a stain at the place where there is water level, which doesn't seem to be cleaned from ages. The Hotel is just next to a beach (on its back side) but due to some silly and discriminatory policy the back gate is not opened for hotel guests who have to access the beach asking very long or only by cab. Even if you are coming from beach and want to return to the hotel from the back gate, you are not allowed in, however third party private personnel who pay for playing at the football field and tennis court are allowed to enter the same locked back gate even with cars. After playing they can even come to the hotel Restaurant or Bar using back entrance. This is highly discriminatory to the hotel guests who must have equivalent rights or higher rights. The above has been highlighted to the Hotel Management but nothing seems to be happening for benefit of the guests. Wifi is good. Wired internet though mentioned in hotel services brochure are deactivated. View from rooms is good.
Stay assessment and was good for me. Will love to have a longer stay in this hotel when i get the next opportunity. Is best place to hide and relax or do your business rounds. Nice sea view etc just come and experience it yourself.
I stayed here for one night and was really impressed by the rooms and service. A car from the hotel picked us up at the airport without us even requesting it and we were able to check in immediately even though it was only 8am. The room felt very new and extremely clean, which is hard to find in Ghana. The air conditioning wasn't working when I first arrived, but they reset it quite promptly. Wifi was fast which was a pleasant surprise. I also had a gorgeous sea view (for the same price as a normal one). I felt very secure the whole time, as the property has a gated security check to enter. I had a pizza for dinner in the hotel which was not very good, but no worse than you might expect. The price for food is pretty high for Ghana, but not ridiculous. The included breakfast was okay as well, with a big selection of decent quality choices.
Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi.....simply a sensational home away from home. Swimming Pool kept super clean at all times, Canoe bar/restaurant gives you the feel of the ocean breeze and that freshness. The view of the ocean from the 2nd to 6 floors is breathtaking. Nature is so very beautiful and BWA+ depicts that. Just avail yourself for that Western Treat.
Atlantic is one of the best hospitality industry in Takoradi providing a serene environment couple with good customer care. Nice suite and swimming pool. Beautiful ocean view. They also have nice bars and resturants
Excellent service i enjoy anytime i use the service. i recommend to everyone who require the same kind of services. price advantage is available at all times and you always win. Its better than most of its competitors.
Loved my stay at this hotel! beautiful state of the art facility. loved the pool and the breath-taking ocean view. The staff composure and professionalism were a bit below average...with the worst being Hayfron at the bar, his demeanor was unwelcoming, he got our order wrong, gave us very spiting answers and argued relentlessly. we were starting to think we were on a debate show...Nonetheless, the shift leader came to apologize for his colleague's behavior and the rest of our evening was ok. Special love to the Front Office Manager though, she's a gem!
Great staff, good food and wonderful facilities. The spa was a lovely relaxing experience. The pool area is beautiful and the lap pool fantastic for exercise. There are many options for dining and the beds are super comfy with a dreamy view when staying up high.
Had a memorable time with my family at this hotel and I am looking forward to go back again. The food was sooo good, rooms were impeccably neat and the view on offer is simply amazing, I will definately go back again with the crew
Had a great one night stay. Only comment is the a/c kept going off with A4 error message. But it was sorted. Good value for money. Saturday night they had a very good musical band. Staff all very professional.
Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi, is my destination point whenever I have a business to do not only in the twin city but also throughout the region. Friendly and welcoming staff, quality services, clean rooms, etc.
the staff at the facility are very professional and serviceable. i enjoyed the experience and will definitely recommend Best Western Atlantic Hotel to anyone irrespective of the purpose of stay. good work guys.
We stayed there overnight while on a business trip to Takoradi. The rooms were nice and big and the facilities in the rooms were adequate. We did find that the hot water was very low and my wife would have preferred hotter water in the shower. The basin drain was a bit blocked causing the water to drain very slow. The toilet flushing water was also very slow. The service was excelent the personal are very eager to help you at all times. The lunch and breakfast buffets were excellent. The other lounge service was good. The beer was nice and cold and the coffee was good. The cake they served was dry. Overhaul will defenatly go back again when we are in Takoradi.
This Hotel is on the right road map to becoming one of the topmost hotels in Ghana, if it keeps its impeccable service and well receiving staff, as well as a constant upgrade on its amenities i believe it will become the envy of its competitors
I have used the services of Best Western Hotels, Takoradi on the few occasions I have had the opportunity to be in Takoradi. Its great to be a guest here. Most of what they have on offer more than exceeded my requirements. Internet stability was not as good as I desired but I know that this is something that can be fixed with little effort. Like to try out the experience? Come on board.
The best hotel as pe ambience, room size, cleanliness, well maintained toilet, nice n strong bed. They offer strong Wi-Fi ( better than any hotel in Takoradi) and they a have nice restaurants with different type of food choice never the less they a bar where u may enjoy live bands very Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But...but but room service and house keeping guys are far away from your call. No one pick call even if u try several times. You may call reception to get the service that's why I gave them 4 out of 5. Hope to see a change in future. Good luck
Fourth time we have stayed at BW Plus Atlantic Hotel. Certainly a great place for my family who love to swim. Food was good during breakfast and rooms kept clean. Family rates required for chalets/rooms
Good hotel with pleasant staff. The BW Takoradi needs to improve the breakfast and provide 3-pin sockets to the standard in Ghana. I am there every week. If anything changes, I will say. The pool is excellent and BW must market it to all guests.
After a morning's travel on typical Ghanaian roads and filling in various forms for ID cards we retired to have lunch at this well appointed hotel. The restaurant overlooked the pool, the golf course and the Atlantic Ocean - pretty impressive. So was the buffet lunch - excellent service and a great range of dishes. Soup or a selection of salad starters with really fresh fruit, Fish and meat dishes with a wide range of starch and one of the best suite displays I have seen for a long time. A mixture of mangos and other exotic fruits along with various gateaux, cheese cake and yoghurt. Excellent lunch indeed.
You will not find a better place to stay in Takoradi, security door on each floor excellent. Rooms great and view out of room unbelievable. Swimming pools are clean, staff friendly and food good at breakfast and dinner
This hotel's location is one of the best in the western part of Ghana. I am able to view the sea right from my guestroom. It has a beautiful swimming pool. I just realized on a recent trip that there is a football park just adjacent the Hotel and a beautiful golf park close to the hotel. It is one of the best holiday places in Takoradi
Very nice room to come to at the end of long and hard day. Loved view of the ocean from the room. TV could do with a few more channels. My sink did not drain very well.Toilet did not flush one morning but was quickly attended to. Definitely coming back.
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a family get away in December 2016. The hotel is large and well equipped - 3 swimming pools, a small gym, onsite restaurant, on site bar, ice cream bar. Hotel is popular with expat oil rig workers. The room was a good size and clean, bed was comfy. Air con stopped working at one point but the hotel sent someone out quite quickly to sort the problem, which was good. Good selection of local and international food options at breakfast. We only had dinner once at the restaurant - the food was okay, not brilliant. For us, the overall stay was fine, but other people in our group who had visited the hotel the year before picked up on a few areas where standards seemed to have dropped - for example no lifeguards at the pool area (where previously there had been continuous life guard presence); the linen used in the restaurant was of a lower quality (paper napkins instead of fabric); less hotel staff than previously etc. The children enjoyed staying here, mainly because of the swimming pools (so it was frustrating when the pool was closed one day for a private party). The beach is approx 10 minutes walk away, and there are a few bars on the beach selling drinks, food etc. Overall, a nice enough hotel, and staff are generally helpful.
Internet Internet Internet... life, work, our very existence, it's all linked to connectivity and when you fail with this, it's a massive fail. To add to an already disappointing experience, I ordered a pepperoni pizza... which did arrive promptly, so timing is not in question at all. The disappointment came from the pepperoni or lack thereof. Clearly the kitchen had run out of pepperoni and substituted it with slices of a local sausage (delicious to some and not quite so for others - I fall in the latter category). Just a head's up guys, the kitchen should alert waiters when something is not available (we all understand that these things happen), it would go a long way to avoid having disgruntled guests. Remaining with service and waiters, the staff serving guests on the verandah are inattentive and unless you get up and call them, they will not offer you any service. This is frustrating. On the plus side, their outdoor area is pretty spectacular. The view is simply amazing and the pools are inviting. My negative review is based mainly on the lack of internet when I really needed it. Will I go there again... probably not if I need internet or service on the verandah, for the pool, yes I would.
Improve the access to your technical team. They were not available when I need their service. I called the front desk several times and I was told they were sending someone over to assist me. The IT professionals never came.
i had a wonderful experience throughout my stay at the Best western plus Atlantic hotel. Beautiful view of the gulf, delicious food and caring staff. i love this hotel, and i will choose to stay here anytime i visit takoradi.
I was able to spend a night at the best western in takoradi and the service, food, hospitality I got from this place was wonderful. I would most definitely be using them again. also love that they have a weekend discount which is a lovely way to get customers to come stay and experience their services
I have stayed here 4 times for two weeks at a time and I can honestly say this hotel is brilliant had some great food and the staff were so friendly always remembered me when I returned. Would not hesitate to go back
I have been to this hotel so many times. It is hands down the best hotel in Takoradi. Good food and great service. courteous staff. I sleep best when i stay at this hotel. I can't wait to go back ! Amaaaaazing place
Service is great but the food is out of this world. They also have live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, the hotel is very close to the beach and a beautiful ocean view room. I highly recommend hotel.
The last time I was at this hotel (3years ago) it was average, in Atlantic's defence it was still under construction and the kitchens were not fully open so they were don't very well with limited facilities. Since then the place has improved the food has moved up a level, the service and the staff are excellent. Check out can take a little longer than you would expect.
Well positioned for the sea breeze, which is important in this area of the World. Nice view to the sea over the golf course, and better than expected leisure facilities in the gym and pool. Rooms ok, a bit dated but A/C works well. Staff great.
If you are looking for the cleanest, most comfortable, with a good restaurant, nice swimming pool, high quality Spa, nice view, this is the place where to go, for work and also to spend a weekend. I spent there several days and I can say that also the service is customer oriented.
Another great trip to Atlantic over Easter. Swift check in, room available. All excellent. Only criticisms.. Holiday Saturday no towels poolside and no towels in room until 4.30pm. Atlantic - you already know you're going to be busy so get organised in time. One of the pool attendants was very snappy when I complained. In fact both attendants seemed to be spending more time handing out towels (when available) that they were not in fact able to be watching over the pools. Priority should be client's safety in the water rather than searching for towels. Lastly, food menus need perking up. Room service = condensed version of what's available upstairs. More variety please. Other than that always a great break for us.
We stayed in rooms 304 and 305 during Easter and Easter Monday. It was fine from the front desk until I went into my room and had to call the housekeeper immediately. The night stand on my side of the bed had a burn mark from a cigarette. I wondered to myself how long was this night stand table here before they realized they had smokers on the 3rd floor in this hotel. Veronica, the housekeeper, is a bit slow. I told her to go to floor 1 and bring me a clean night stand without a burn mark since all the smokers reside on the first floor. That also means the smoke is in the curtains and the lower mattress of the bed. The housekeeping supervisor Harriet came all the way to my room to discuss a burn mark. I do believe overall this visit was good since it was buzzing the whole weekend with visitors and partygoers due to the live music and the amazing looking swimming pool. I would recommend this hotel to friends but the management needs to get the swimmers under control. Thank you to the lady/ cosmetologist who came to give my daughter a manicure and pedicure in the salon after the salon had closed at 2pm. I didn't check the time the day before and when we went downstairs it was 3:30pm. Thank you thank you for that consideration, even though I left to pick something from the room and she skipped my daughters hand massage. I was indeed with her through out the services so that the young lady wouldn't skip any steps...........so my advice, if a young child is needing any hair or nail service, stay with the child so that you get value for money spent. (We were there 2 nights) The view was so beautiful from the big window.
Best Western Atlantic hotel is one of my favourite when it comes to hotel in west Africa where I usually travel on business trips. Overall, the location to the Port of Takoradi is perfect and the airport shuttle service is superb. The staff are kind and professional. Good facilities
Good place to recommend to others. Cleaners could also offer a helping hand when a guest is checking out a room with heavy loads. Internet connectivity and accessibility must be improved. Washrooms at the lobby must be air-freshed frequently
It's my wife's birthday. I needed a place close to home with quiet environment and mellow sound of music on a Sunday to celebrate with her. Atlantic hotels provided that environment. The food was just as ordered...and the wife was happy. I look forward to the pool side Christmas Carol this December!
Decent hotel by African standards, with fantastic views of the ocean. Breakfast is very good and the lunch buffet wasn't half bad either. Room felt a little bit budget (too many tiles and no soft furnishings). Room was clean, but a bit if mildew in the bathroom. Good location in Takoradi. Not bad, but room could be improved, to match the public areas of the hotel and the fantastic view.
Good service and friendly staff. All though the guards outside the hotel were wearing flak jackets, don't be afraid :) Excellent food, just as you would have expected from a five ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? star hotel and very good service from the waitresses. Had to wait 30-45 min for the food, but it was worth it. Had a bungalow next to the swimming pool. The room was clean and free from mosquitoes, big bathroom with shower. Definitely one of the best hotels in Ghana.
Came here for a short business meeting. Venue is great with spectacular views and blue pools! Good hospitality from the front desk and waiters, even had an ice cream bar! I would definitely consider staying here next time I'm in town, the extra cost seems to be worth it.
I travel within Ghana a lot and the Atlantic Best Western is by far the best hotel experience i have had in this country. If you are going to Takoradi it is really the only place to stay. You can tell that they have taken the time to select employees who go above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. The food is amazing, if you ever get a chance try out the roasted lamb with mint sauce. They also have an astro turf field to play football. One of a kind. High standards
Atlantic is a great place for relaxation, there's no doubt about that. Their food is affordable and quite good. However, their services can be poor at times. I decided to go to their Spa yesterday and I opted for the back and neck massage which was 90 Ghana Cedis for 30minutes, but I was massaged for just 10minutes and the lady left. The massage too was poor and I still feel pains at my back. I really wish I can get a refund because it was just Cos90. I wanted to see their manager but unfortunately, I was told he was not around.
The place is actually cool. Food tastes great too. The place has enough space for you to turn around and all. Food prices are affordable. The place is in soo many divisions I think that might be the only problem.
I travel around the world & UK a lot with my job and come across many different styles & standards. I usually also do not give praise lightly but The BEST WESTERN Plus Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi must come in my top 5 out of hundreds.. My room was spacious and light with a comfortable bed & great views over the golf course to the sea. A plentiful breakfast buffet was available from 6.30am which was great with having to leave early for work. The food available in the evenings had lots of choice from restaurant to bar food. (great pizzas). All the staff are friendly & courteous and are a credit to the manager and his team who obviously run a tight ship. I feel that the bar & restaurant staff should have a special mention as they always found time for a chat and a laugh after returning from work in the evening. I hope to be traveling back to Takoradi in September and I already know where ill be staying !
This is my second visit to this hotel, great location, great view, everything there, nice big swimming pool, open area, comfortable bed, Now the but, the breakfast is worse I have ever had, sausages both beef and chicken were like saw dust, the rest just looked tired, fresh fruit nothing, bit of pineapple and water melon. The Ghanian room service breakfast seemed to be from the previous nights buffet. So Please look at your food, it does not cost that much more to put on nice breakfast.
After spending a couple of years in Takoradi and having visited most hotels, The Atlantic is, undoubtedly, the best. It has the perfect location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Takoradi golf course, it has a spacious car park and spacious interiors. Warm and reliable reception staff always ready to assist the minute you arrive. The service and food quality are always consistent, their food menu offers many options and their buffet is always filled with various selections. Also their food prices are very moderate considering the high quality of food served. They also offer a delicious selection of desserts. The rooms are luxurious and offer one of the best ocean views in Ghana, and their free WIFI is reliable. A friendly yet sharp team of security guards securing the place around the clock making it one of the safest Hotels in Takoradi. I enjoyed their swimming pools and gym, which are strikingly neat. Also loved the live bands playing every weekend at Canoe Bar. After several friendly conversations with management personnel and after visiting the place regularly I fell in love with the atmosphere which I couldn't find in any other Hotel. They also offer a selection of the best ice creams in town. Their chocolate milkshake is a must-try. Looking forward to my next visit.
The sea view from the hotel is nice and beautiful as well as the luxurious rooms and canoe bar!. The canoe bar attendants were welcoming and were always around to serve you your choice of drink. Love it!.
As an offshore oil worker, I arrived the evening before in Accra. The following morning we headed to Takoradi. After dropping my bags off at the airport, we were taken to the Best Western for breakfast. I was amazed by the food selection, the cleanliness of the hotel and the extremely pleasant staff. We only had a 3 hours stay at the hotel on my first visit. Upon arrival back from offshore, I was given a day room to recuperate after a 2 week night shift. The room was clean and comfy and had an amazing view of the pool and sea. Again, the food was excellent on my return visit. I am due to head back to Ghana in July 2016 and hope to go back to the Best Western.
The hotel kept popping up on trip advisor anytime I searched Sekondi-Takoradi so we decided to check it out. We decided to take a late lunch there. We used the open space between the bar and the pool. Some chairs were wet from rain a few hours before and were not cleaned. The waiter was a little dull and we had to remind him of the order periodically. The the food was nice and the environment was cozy and serene
Very friendly and serviceable staff. I didn't like the fact though that each time i asked for tea at breakfast they pointed me to the tea stand, which was subsequently brought to me when i asked. Nice clean rooms and sports facilities - big pool, tennis, right next to a golf course and nice spa. The dining room always had a great variety and the desserts were really nice. By far the biggest lure must be the variety of the buffet breakfast.
I have stayed in few hotels in Takoradi, thought time for a change heard various things about the the Atlantic hotel why not give it a try, bit more expensive than the others, thats not the issue. Check in painless not many happy smiles not a problem, hand over the key card in tatty cover, just being petty nothing said. Get the room great view of the sea and the golf club lovely room, bit cold tiled floor, bathroom is not bad, no hand towel rail and the towel was one those cheap towel which you can never dry yourself with. Decided to go down to the terrace for sundowner as one does, not many people around, great open area, managed to get a waiter and club beer was ordered, decided to order food, the menu very limited, but ordered snack from it, and this is when went down hill for me, the food was brought with cling film over it, and put in front of me by the waitress without any effort to take it off, and make matters worse it was cold. Overall the service was not the best, including reception, food nothing special, breakfast buffet nothing special. Would I stay again not sure, it was not a bad experience.
Stayed at the Atlantic around easter Weekend. The rooms are spacious with a great view and everything you could ask of in a high standard Hotel. The Hotel has international Standards when it comes to service, food Quality and amenities. The breakfast is great with a large choice of meals, drinks at the bar are very good too. The staff is always smiling and ready to help. They went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
This is a comfortable hotel well positioned with all the facilities one needs. Rooms are well equipped with great views. Buffet breakfast and dinner is generous and Saturday night seafood does not disappoint. Leisure activities centre around the pool and golf course.
I am sitting by the pool at this hotel and have been waiting for a towel for two hours. I've spoken to two pool boys and a manager and it has made no difference! Lovely hotel with lovely surroundings but the service here is crap! Further it took almost an hour to find a waiter to serve us food by the pool - really disappointing.
I have stayed at the Best Western three or four times. Positives. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the staff are great, the Canoe Restaurant is up to most needs, the location is as good as it gets in Takoradi. Negatives. The internet really is atrocious, if you need WiFi think twice. While not the hotel managements fault the beach cannot be recommended. Overall you can do far worse, however I have given up on hotel internet provision. Next time I stay in Takoradi I shall have to consider another option.
I came here for buisness trip of two days and actually first time for me in western region I was afraid that hotel will not be good when i reached i insisted on the reception girl To give me good room withf good wifi to the extent that she asked me if during previous stays it was bad i told her i ve never been here before i went to the room and wifi was weak and i started to complain in just a min she sent me the IT man who placed a hot spot in the room i was really greatful to the quick response. Also the location and room view very nice . The restaurant and rooms are very clean The working staff are very nice welcoming cheerful people .
Conveniently located hotel. Value for money. Basic room and limited room service. Tram stop in front of hotel. Southern cross station is only 5 minute walk from hotel. From airport one can take sky bus and walk to hotel.
I've stayed in Takoradi many times but had not been back since the opening of the best western. It was clean, airy and the staff did their best to accommodate our large team. Checkin was a bit hairy but all in all, food, view, cleanliness and friendly staff, great! I give it 4 because the beach could be better but that's not the hotel nanagement's decidion - yet.
I enjoyed by stay at Best Western Takoradi. The rooms are very spacious and well fitted. The AC is great and Internet works most of the time. The view of the ocean is beautiful The staff are friendly efficient and the food is reasonably priced and pretty good.
Excellently renovated hotel offering a great place to stay. The beach is within eyesight, but only accessible by walking down the road. Great pool/patio, bar, and main restaurant. Traditional breakfast buffet of both European and Ghanaian specialties is excellent. A dinner buffet is also offered, but I did not have the chance to try it. The ice cream bar in the lobby area offers tasty treats for a quick dessert. The WiFi works, but is not the fastest. Once an allotted amount of WiFi is used, you have the option to either purchase an unlimited speed option or to use a free speed-limited option.
Very great location, fabulous breakfast with lots to variety to consider. Been on the 5th floor was amazing as you could just have a good panoramic view of everything nature "breezing" around. Friendly staff and prompt service delivery anytime needed.
I wrote this review for my blog and decided that it would be useful to post here as well for other travellers. Last Christmas (December 2014) my husband, mum, my 4 month old girl and I headed to The Atlantic Hotel for a 2 day mini holiday Takoradi (Western Region), I was quite excited about our trip, particularly about staying at hotel because I hadn't really had a proper break since giving birth and secondly because the hotel speared quite swanky online. We arrived just on time for check in and retreated our rooms (Deluxe Rooms to be exact).I would love to give you a well written and in depth review but due to limited time and having to run up and down to check on my dear child I'll keep it simple and straightforward with bullet points. The Good Room Marvellous view from room (The pictures speak for themselves. I haven't stayed in many hotels but if you are into views I bet that this is one of the best views you can get from a hotel in Ghana. Loved the bed, it was cozy and slept like a baby for the first time since having my child. I actually lifted the covers to check what make the mattress was lol. Hotel staff brought in an extra mattress for my girl to sleep on which was useful. Dining The breakfast buffet consisted of Ghanaian, American, English, Continental and healthy options. I did find most of the options to be quite greasy but I guess it was satisfactory. Pool There are three different pools at the hotel which is fantastic since I was concerned about having to swim in an overcrowded pool. There is enough space to move around. Other At the heart of the city. Quick access to other restaurants, bars and hotels (this will only matter if you want to move around town) The Bad Room Our room was not prepared properly + lack of consistency the towels in the bathroom were damp my mum had complimentary chocolates on her bed while we had none (the chocolates were brought the following day) and they appeared to be quite cheap, as if they had been lying around for a year or so Our bathroom was almost double the size of hers We could hear the music from the band at night while trying to get some much needed sleep which I thought was inappropriate. (Yes it was the Christmas period but that does not mean the hotel should let the guests stay be compromised) The finishing in the bathroom was poor Balcony was a joke, there were no chairs on it to sit and enjoy the view Pool Sign by the pool states that the pool opens at 7am however on both days the pool wasn't being cleaned until 8:38am which was quite frustrating because my mum and I are early morning swimmers The edges around the inner part of the pool were dirty There were no waiters by the pool area The sauna, spa, gym and salon were closed on both days which really winded me up because I cannot imagine encountering such a problem in any high end hotel abroad. So basically there wasn't much to do at the hotel except eat, sleep and swim. The Christmas buffet was sloppy, appeared as if not much effort went into selecting the menu for the special occasion…an everyday buffet at the Labadi Beach Hotel far exceeded that of the ‘special buffet' we had. We were all quite disappointed. There was no wine or drinks list (if there was one it wasn't presented to us) There were no coffee mugs on our table and took forever to get some during breakfast Other Unfortunately although the hotel Is right in front of the beach, guests do not have access to it The Ugly Room Service This was a total nightmare! It took forever for someone to bring in an extra robe and slippers for myself We wanted to have lunch in our room which we ended up seriously regretting. We ordered drinks, a prawn salad, grilled grouper fish and a Dutch apple and almond pie. Food came an hour later: Dessert was brought first which was inconvenient because the main meal hadn't arrived yet and even then the menu said ‘Dutch apple and almond pie served with warm custard and vanilla ice-cream' so that is what we were expecting. Instead, we received the apple pie with strawberry ice-cream and when we challenged the staff she seemed clueless. The drinks arrived after we had finished eating! After making three calls to the reception someone eventually came to pick the plates from our room 2 hours later- This was a real wind up mainly because every time I called, reception kept telling me that someone was coming. Wrapping up Although the negative experiences outweighed the positive ones, for some weird reason I honestly wouldn't mind staying at The Atlantic again, I guess it comes down to personal preference and Having a good sleep and waking up to that view made it worth it. The hotel is massive and I noticed that it is also uncompleted. There is supposed to be an indoor night club and other facilities that are not ready yet. Their banqueting hall is top notch I must say—I happened to sneak into one in the evening and turned on all the lights, it was beautiful. With that said I'll continue to long for that bed until I manage to replicate the same bed at home in the near future….Amen to that!
I visited this hotel with friends and I was quiet impressed about how lovely it was. The rooms were big and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the kitchen staff. The chefs & waiters really took care of us. There is a large swimming & relaxing area outside, and the beach is walking distance. When in Takoradi, stay here and you won't be disappointed!
I loved my stay overall. Had a few challenges on my first night, even though nothing was done to compensate for that, the second night was good. Loved the bar and pool area. Was disappointed i couldn't use the Spa and gym cos it wasn't opened.
Best Pools in Takoradi - close to Golf course, and local restaurants. Live Music at weekends at bar beside pool. Fitness centre and massage parlour included as part of hotel. Tennis court also avaliable and 5-aside football pitch coming soon!!
The Best Western Takoradi is quite a lovely hotel in, to be honest, a bit of an unlikely location. Sekondi-Takoradi has an enormous amount of beach tourism potential, but it is severely lacking in infrastructure. Hence the Best Western, as a legitimately international standard hotel, is a little incongruous. The hotel is very clean and well laid-out. All rooms have views of the ocean, and are quite nice. The food is quite good (though maybe not a particularly extensive menu) and the buffet breakfast is lovely. One weird thing though is that the kitchen seems to have problems counting -- if you order an order of, say, 8 chicken strips, who knows what number you're actually going to end up with. (Spoiler alert - it's always less than 8.) Also, the pools are very nice to sit out by and swim in. Now to the negatives. First, the service is incredibly hit and miss. I love Ghana, but customer service is not a national strong point. At the Best Western, the service can either be passable, or atrocious. At the risk of making a broad generalization, the male employees are very warm and friendly, charmingly chatty, and when you ask for something you generally receive it within the hour. The female employees however tend to act as though you're ruining their day by asking them for anything -- almost as if they're already doing you a favour by turning up for work. And don't even bother asking for anything if you wish to receive it that day. I've seen it take half an hour just to receive the bill. Again, I regret making this broad generalization, but I did find the theory held up: there does seem to be a strange bifurcated work culture here. One other negative is the poor access to the beach. The photos tend to suggest that there is access to the beach, perhaps through the golf course. This is not the case. The beach is easily 3-4 blocks walk away, and they are not pleasant blocks to walk, particularly after dark. I wouldn't suggest they are unsafe per se, but they don't feel exactly safe either. The beach is pretty awful anyway, so no real reason to bother going there, particularly to negotiate around the stray dogs and aggressive beggars. Overall, it is a nice hotel in an unlikely location, and without a doubt THE place to stay in Western region. It is a very pleasant oasis.
Very Friendly Employees, outstanding customer service, amazing location. This is in brief our opinion about Best Western Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. To note also that the GM was always available to make our stay perfect, flawless, and made sure that our future stay in Takoradi is Best Western Atlantic Hotel.
I've stayed at Best Western once before and that time it wasn't a great experience for me. This time around I saw a huuuuge improvement. The service was great!!! From the driver to porters to front office to wait staff - everyone I met knew their role and were super helpful and kind. I left some personal effects behind when I checked out and housekeeping had it tagged and stored; and the reception made every effort to reach me before I left Takoradi. I am super impressed with how the service standards have improved. Well done! I didn't venture out to the gym but my colleagues did and were happy with the standard there. The food was good, and the restaurant manager a star. The room was perfect - everything worked and the bed was very comfy. The view from the main hotel is very nice. There was some scaffolding on my floor but it was easy enough to ignore. The only drawback for me was the slow internet, which management apologised for. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it highly.
I have been to a lot of hotels around the globe but this Hotel is a real deal. I will easily give them 10/10. There is too much to say. The Service is great, The rooms are excellent, the staff is nice, the food is exquisite and so diversified, even the view is "Umglaublich". They had meals and snacks I wasn't expecting to see around and it all tasted real nice. The rooms are nicely set with a small real classy desk fully equipped and the bed is really comfortable... The Hotel is so huge, You could easily get lost. They have everything you would need in a serious hotel Gym, Pools, Chalets, restautants, Big Car Park and even a Copy Centre/Business Centre. The guy at the Gym is really nice and the Lifeguard was really friendly, amazing guy ( He stayed around us all the time we were in the pool, even did extra time). I really enjoyed every minute of my stay there and I am not about to forget it soon.
I've been a regular visitor Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, and indeed by far the leading hospitality + hotel in the whole of the Western Region of Ghana. Also,it's ready to welcome people of all kind
Nice clean hotel with swimming pools, terrace dining, pool dining, fitness centre, tennis court and lovely spacious rooms. **Word of Note**They do not do twin rooms. It's a double bed in each room so if you are travelling with a friend and don't wish to share the same bed then you will have to pay for two rooms. It's only slightly cheaper for the single occupancy too so may not be the right hotel for you if you want to save money on a twin room. The hotel staff are very polite and attentive, the front of house are helpful too. The rooms face over the poolside area and of course the coastline, golf course and tennis courts. To appreciate these and to be away from any noise at the weekend it's recommended you are at least on the 3rd or 4th floor. They have a great shower cubicle and bathroom and a well equipped fitness centre. Breakfast was average, shame about the coffee which didn't taste too good and no orange juice. The terrace/pool dining in the evening was nice. I wasn't too keen on the beef burger served in the restaurant at lunchtime which tasted anything but beef, it was more of a patty of herbs and something that did not taste of beef. All in all a great place to stay for a few days away from Accra.
My wife and I spent a week at the Atlantic hotel in Takoradi and we were both like "wow." Everything was exquisite. The room, the food and the service. Most importantly, the ambiance was to die for. Definitely a place that we will stay at again on our next visit to Takoradi.
Over a two month period, I spent a month at the hotel and will continue to go back when in Takoradi. Staff is very hospitable, professional and reliable (reception, restaurants, domestic service). Beautiful view of the ocean. Rooms spacious, clean and well maintained. Breakfast outstanding, dinners very good. Great gym - trainer good guy, very helpful. Pools appeal to all tastes (laps for fitness or just a splash for fun) - well maintained. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in - and I travel A LOT for work.
This is probably the largest hotel in Takoradi, has three nice swimming pools, next to a golf course and if you go for the non-standard rooms a pretty great place to stay. They even have stand alone chalets for families. For all the oil guys, this is a good place when your family come to visit you in Ghana. From the top rooms the view is outstanding, over looking the Atlantic Ocean.
I have used this hotel many nights during on many trips to Takoradi in the period from mid 2014 to mid 2015. New hotel, with the constrains this is giving to train the staff being better and better, which I have followed in the period, and It is getting better and better every time you visit the hotel. Breakfast is good and nice staff. Internet is free and very good with high speed. Good shtle service to and from the airport. Restaurand is average,
The family spent 3 nights and we really loved the place. The food was great. The bathroom very well cleaned and you wake up to a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. It's a place we will visit again. No regrets at all. Maclean
You do not expect this level of comfort and service in Takoradi. brand new hotel with very nice sea view. Clean and nicely decorated. Rooms are spacious. Wifi works but do not expect high speed. Excellent breakfast and overall a very high quality cuisine. The evening buffet is a must!
this hotel
