The main reason many guests stay at our Tacoma hotel is because they're in town for an exciting concert at the Tacoma Dome. During concerts and special events we offer complimentary parking to our valued guests. We have limited parking spaces available and want to accommodate everyone, but guarantee only one spot per registered guest. This Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome Hotel boasts an unbeatable location that's close to the highway, but far enough away that guests can still enjoy peace and quiet. The Port of Tacoma is a short drive away, and Joint Base Lewis McChord and Madigan Hospital are also nearby our Tacoma Dome hotel. From concerts at the Tacoma Dome to a visit to the Glass Museum, there are many things to do near our Tacoma hotel. University of Washington Tacoma is also close by, and many guests are in town to tour the campus or for graduation and other special events. The Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum and Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center are other must-see nearby attractions. We offer an area shuttle from 9:00am-10:00pm daily within a 5 mile radius of the hotel property. There's ample parking and complimentary Wi-Fi at our Tacoma hotel to make guests feel right at home. The complimentary underground garage parking means that if you do drive here, it's simple to keep your vehicle safe and secure. However, it's our free, deluxe hot breakfast that really makes guests feel like they're on a great holiday. A make-your-own-waffle station, scrambled eggs and favorite hot breakfast meats await you every day, along with fresh fruits and pastries, yogurt, cereal and 100% Arabica coffee and juices. Some of our guests are in town for business with Franciscan Health Systems, MultiCare Health Systems, the Port of Tacoma and University of Washington Tacoma. No matter what brings you to the region, depend on our helpful staff members to make your stay enjoyable. Hotel offers free parking to registered guests. Enjoy your stay.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. It is located next to Tacoma Dome, Lemay Car Museum and the Glass Museum, so there is plenty to see within walking distance.. A short distance to bus and rail transit. Good experience overall.

« closest hotel to Tacoma Dome »

This is located across the parking lot from the Tacoma Dome, so you don't have to worry about traffic before and after the show. Room was quiet and comfortable. Shower curtain was dirty. One of the two elevators was broken, so instead of waiting for a long time each time we used the stairs. Breakfast buffet included. Walking distance to Tacoma light rail station, convenience store, some shops and restaurants. Parking and wifi was free. Refrigerator in room.

Hope we can use your facility in future, close to our church in Tacoma and comfortable clean and good service. The group was excited about how helpful your staff greeted all. Thank you and your choice of employees

    « Nice Hotel »

This hotel is in a prime location withn Tacoma, however it could use a few updates. The internet is a little spotty but I can work around that. The pillows were a little hard, but that is also an easy fix. The only thing that really got me were the multiple city trains that come through in early hours of the morning. The horns are pretty loud and will walk some people up.

    « stuck in elevator »

Had to wait over 10 minutes to check in while 2 people checked in someone else who seemed to have a problem. Hotel and rooms were nice. When leaving the elevator had a problem and kept going from the 5th floor to the basement and back again. and again. and again.....I was stuck in the elevator and called the front desk from my cell. They said they would call the elevator company. After 10 minutes I had to call back to see what was going on. I say this because they had my cell number on file but didn't think to call me to update. I was told the company was 5 minutes away. Another 10 minutes passed and I had to call again. This time they couldn't get ahold of anyone. I said call the fire department then. I was told management said do not call the FD, wait for the contract company. I tried the emergency phone and it did not work. Finally I called again and told them if they don't call the FD I will. They relented and said they had called. Somehow I don't think they had because it was another 20 minutes before the FD showed up. After another 10 minutes I finally got out. My fault for trusting them and not calling the FD myself. To top that off they did not shut down the problem elevator. I had to stop someone from getting on and tell the front desk to tape it off since they said it was the FD fault for not shutting it down. Luckily I wasn't someone who was in bad health or had panic attacks. I heard from the manager today who told me the Tacoma FD requested they not call them for these cases. Happened before? I took a picture of their license in the elevator. It had expired in November 2015! Manager said they had a current one that they hadn't put up yet. There is a common theme. Meaning poor management and NO common sense. I have been traveling on business for 35 years and am surprised how idiotic some managers run their business.

« Best Western Tacoma Plus was a Plus! »

Loved our stay. Staff were professional and friendly. Breakfast was super! Could commute to downtown Seattle by bus, the express stop was within walking distance. We will stay here again if we return to Tacoma.

« This hotel could be a really good facility but ........ »

Hotel staff was excellent but the restaurant offering really needs to be better managed! The items offered were extremely limited. The free breakfast was good - could be kept a little warmer. The fitness center is also very limited.

« Best Western Pkus Tacoma Dome was an amazing choice »

This hotel was outstanding in every way! Staff is friendly & helpful from the front desk people to the restaurant and lounge workers and the housekeepers. Breakfast was not your average one...made to order omelettes, Belgian waffles, & ANYTHING else you can imagine. Maria was not only friendly & helpful but did a wonderful job making sure everybody in the breakfast area had whatever they needed. Also, a lovely lady bartender mixed up some great drinks in the lounge. Besides the wonderful people, the hotel was very clean & quiet & beds comfortable. Cannot stress how convenient the location is! Transportation is a huge plus staying here with a simple walk around he the block to the Tacoma Dome station. You can take a free LINK tram into downtown Tacoma, the Sounder train to Seattle, & buses everywhere including an Express to the SeaTac airport. Amtrak & Greyhound there too. And most importantly, the hotel manager frees a free shuttle service within 5 miles! Alll round, this hotel made our visit carefree and unforgettable in every way!

    « True Hospitality »

We enjoyed our two day stay here a lot. From the moment we booked the room with Ailua, the front desk attendant, who was from our home state of Hawaii and made us feel so welcome. When she was busy, we were equally attended to by Lynn. They have a fun little bar and the food is WAY better than one expects in mid range hotels. The Chicken wings are among the best I have ever had! And an incredible deal at Happy Hour. If you are a Tacoma local or going to a show at the Dome - go here for the Wings. The breakfast is a real breakfast - real eggs, real sausage, made to order waffles and omelettes and great coffee. They are pet friendly and the rooms have everything you need from microwaves to refrig... Is the hotel in need of a little sprucing up? Yes. But are you really planning to live in the hotel or sleep there? It would be nice if things got updated -- new carpets, paints, bedding and curtains. But when it comes to people - Tacoma Dome was exceptional and we will go back for sure!

« Would stay here again. »

This hotel is a good deal. A nicer hotel in Tacoma for a decent price. We had no complaints. The room was clean and the hotel was nice. It's very close to downtown Tacoma to walk around and stuff. We were there for a wedding at the historic 1625 Tacoma I think it was called and it's the closest hotel. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. We also ate dinner one night in the restaurants I had the salmon and it was amazing. Lots of parking. The only problem we had was the morning of check out the key had reset so I was trapped in the parking garage because you need it to get access to the elevator. So that was super annoying. But other than that it was a very pleasant stay.

    « Can't beat location! »

I travel often for work and play. I ama Best Western Platinum member. Stayed here to avoid travel home from event at Tacoma Dome. Easy walk and then you avoid $30 event parking. Room clean but outdated. Restaurant was understaffed for the amount of people staying here. No pool or hot tub. Only one restaurant within walking distance that closed early. Breakfast was overcrowded too. Awesome location to get back to your room quickly after an event. If you want amazing pizza delivery try Sammie's!

    « Your average hotel »

The hotel is located near the Tacoma Dome so it is a great location if you plan to attend an event at the Tacoma Dome. Other that that, I wouldn't select his hotel to stay. The rooms look old and there are not enough power outlets or USB plugs The parking is interesting, it has two levels, the entrance to the first level is located near the entrance to the hotel and the entrance to the second lower level is located at the side of the hotel next to the street. Elevators at both levels will take you to the lobby.

    « Don't waste your money »

Unless you have no choice because of location I would avoid all cost staying here. For one we were here for an event at the Tacoma Dome and so prices to stay here was triple the cost I would say the hotel is worth. A 2 star property that needs updating. I have a room with two double beds in a tiny room. It's like they shoved two beds in a space that's clearly too small. No hot showers here! Enjoy your cold shower and did I tell you it was snowing outside so maybe they were going for a theme. The only positive was their breakfast was decent. Customer service also scores a negative 0.

« Very convenient location next to Tacoma Dome »

Typical Best Western property meeting the corporate standards of cleanliness and comfort. Excellent breakfast menu. Indoor parking was very convenient as was the free shuttle (trips of less than 5 miles).

Single night multiple room stay with friends for the Katie Perry concert. We have stayed here multiple times over the years and have not had a bad night. Great location for the area attractions and always a friendly staff.

« Small sofa bed not suitable for 2 children »

The hotel was ok, we booked a room to use the free parking as we came from a sports event and knew we would arrive just before the concert start time and not be able to find parking. There was no hotel parking available when we got there at 7:30pm but thank goodness a very kind lady at the front desk gave us a special reserved parking bay right under the hotel. We were so happy about this, it made the rest of the stay bearable. The room for 2 adults and 2 children is only big enough for 3 people. It's a twin size sofa bed, tiny. I had to take the mattress off, put it not the floor and put some pillows on the side. My kids weren't comfortable at all but at 1am you just made do. There were no extra mattresses available, and I had to use a towel as a pillow because I used my pillow to make the kids bed bigger. Breakfast was a joke, I get that it's the day after a big concert but the queue to the buffet was 20 min long and when you got the the front most items were finished. It was 9:35am when we got there and breakfast ends at 10am. Anyway we weren't too fased about the breakfast as we live an hour away and just went home for some chow.

« Customer Service is horrible. They won't let you move dates even if they have room »

I stayed at this hotel once and the experience was fine. The fresh made omelet for breakfast was great. Rooms were nothing special but fine. Area of town is somewhat sketch but I'm fine with it. The next time I booked through hotels combined which brought up a deal on orbitz and a bunch of other sites. I selected the orbitz site but did not realize that the dates on the reservation had been switched to the current day vs the day I put into hotels combined. I realized this the next day as I was packing to go to work and checked out my reservation, which had been for the previous night. I called the hotel and asked to just switch nights, they told me to call orbitz. So I did, orbitz said they'd be happy to refund my money if the hotel would do it but they couldn't switch nights. So they called the hotel and the hotel refused to refund the money, saying it was my fault. The next day I called the manager to get the name of the person who "helped" me so I could write up this review. She told me that the person was a new employee and that they would definitely refund my money but she hadn't been able to get through to orbitz. funny, since orbitz answers every time I call. The refund still has not appeared after two weeks. Only stay here if you know for sure you will not need any customer service or assistance from management. I definitely will not stay here again.

    « Needs an Update »

Maybe we got a bad room, but regardless, it wasn't nice. The bedskirts were stained?looked like being pet friendly resulted in being pet damaged. There were gross stains on the curtains, too. The mattresses were old. One of the beds didn't even have a top sheet. Weird little square pillows were all they had on the beds. Bathroom amenities were pretty generic. Parking garage had lots of signs about securing your possessions but we didn't have a problem with that. Breakfast was supposed to last until 10:00, but was pretty much gone at 9:45 and the omelet station was abandoned. Went here for the location, but wasn't worth the price or the lack of comfort. Not what I expect from a Best Western Plus.

    « Customer Service NIGHTMARE »

Do not stay here or at ANY Best Western property. The customer service is horrible and WHEN you have a problem, not if, because you will have a problem with them, they will give you the run around and flat out lie to you!

« clean and friendly but other problems »

The hotel itself is clean and the staff was friendly but it did have some problems. First of all we had trouble getting wifi connection. Wanted to rent a movie off HBO but they were have problems with their carrier that night. The cold water was turned off in the bathroom. Tried to use the elevator the next morning and they were having trouble with the electricity. Also tried to use the lobby restroom but there were now switches to turn on the lights but they couldn't get them on either. More electrical problems. I guess we picked the wrong weekend.

    « I'll Be Back... »

The concrete floors helped insulate from upstairs noise. This was a very quiet room except the occasional train during the night (520). Really convenient if you are going to an event at the Tacoma Dome. Walk across the parking lot. Nice breakfast was included with the room price. There is a nice little pub across the street that all ages are welcome, but check out the hotel restaurant first. I didn't even know it was there until i returned from Sluggo's Brewery. The front desk should really mention it. Free parking too!

« Multiple false fire alarms! »

The hotel seemed nice as we checked in, although a bit shabby on the outside and it's definitely past its prime. I got a pretty good price, so I was willing to overlook these cosmetic issues. Unfortunately, during the evening of my stay the fire alarm went off not once, but twice. It's bad enough having to evacuate down 5 flights of stairs into a cold December night, but having to do it twice was really awful. The staff were almost non-existent during these fire alarms and did nothing to calm or comfort the guests. When I did see the staff, they not once apologized for the inconvenience caused by the alarms. I emailed the staff and was promised a full refund for our restless stay, but over a week later, I've not received a refund.

    « Excellent location »

We always visit Tacoma over the Christmas holidays to visit with family and friends and have always stayed in another part of town. We found that we could around much easier to all parts of town from this location. The room, breakfast, free parking and friendliness of staff were all great plusses. We'll be staying here for all of our future family visits.

    2
    « unsatisfactory stay »

Although the hotel looks clean in appearance, service was terrible. housekeeping skipped my room to be cleaned. When I informed the front desk, the only service that was offered to me was clean towels. Breakfast was cleaned early before closure.

    « Tacoma Dome BestWestern »

When staying in the Tacoma Dome area I usually stay at this Best Western. The hotel has a very friendly staff and I can walk to local restaurants. The hotel also has a nice restaurant and bar with good prices.

« December container ship inspection »

Appreciate the location for easy access to the port, freeway and the city center. Not many eateries located within walking distance though. Bed was very firm. Really like the security features of the hotel (key access for the elevator).

« Great Place to Stay »

This hotel is #1 in our book. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are so comfortable and they have a GREAT complementary breakfast. It is easy to find and great parking. We will stay more often in Best Western Hotels.

« A very good place to stay! »

In a way the hotel could use a little updating for the price. I give it 4 out of 5, due to a fibb by the staff, and other things...esp. the toilet. I am a slender build and I could not fit on the toilet seat, hmmm. The shower could use updating. These are minor issues however. I slept like a baby; very comfy beds. The views are good, when NOT raining if ever (Washington weather). Location is great, if you are a train rider (AMTRAK); however 30 mins. from Sea-tac, and they will shuttle you. We had no heat in our room, this is the fibb. The staff said maintenance will arrive in minutes. Thirty minutes no show, however a call to front desk 2x, got us a new room and problem solved. Great service, however a little expensive for non-modern hotel. Friendly staff, but if you are hungry, you will starve, unless you have doordash or Uber eats app. No restaurant, but a good breakfast set up.

    « Very nice »

This hotel is situated right next door to the Tacoma Dome which made it so easy to attend the Garth Brooks World Tour concert. The room was clean and the parking was free. Our room looked out over downtown Tacoma and was comfortable.

« Need better English speaking help »

The toilets in this hotel are the lowest to the ground that I have ever sat on/used. I have been all over the world and even the child toilets are higher than these. I can imagine if you are 6 ft or taller you can easily fall trying to sit down. I'm 5'10' and had difficulty sitting down and getting up, thank goodness for the counter next to the toilet. We have stayed at his hotel several times since it is literally next door to the Tacoma dome. The breakfasts are great and tasty. The parking is O K if you can get a spot in their garage.

« A lovely hotel, terrific pub food »

The hotel is top notch and room 210 was exactly what you'd expect from a Best Western Plus. Front desk staffing was a bit skimpy considering there were five Garth Brooks concerts from Friday to Sunday next door in the Tacoma Dome. There were long lineups for check in and they could have used someone out directing traffic on the property. Our room was spotless and roomy and it overlooked the entrance. The bar was busy and the service was good considering the hotel was full. The lone food server did a great job as did the two bartenders. The food was really tasty, the portions were generous, prices were reasonable. We'd stay here again but leave more time to get through all the traffic if there was an event on. It only took a couple minutes to walk to the back entrance of the Dome - out the side door of the hotel, across the driveway, up the hill at the back, through security, and into the event. Very short lineups considering the Dome was full (holds 23,000!). This hotel is perfect if you're attending anything at Tacoma Dome. And even if you're not, it would be a good experience. We did have an issue with a very noticeable gas smell in the lobby which wasn't addressed as quickly as we would have liked. It eventually dissipated when they shut off the gas fireplace in the lobby and opened up the outside doors.

    5
« Great Place To Stay for a Concert at the Tacoma Dome »

Stayed here for the Scorpions concert. Room was clean and quiet, we could see the Tacoma Dome from our room's window (it's just steps away from the hotel) and the breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations. Would definitely stay again.

    5
« Best place to stay if you're going to a Tacoma Dome Event! »

I took my 10 year old daughter to Tacoma for 5 Garth Brooks shows. I didn't want to stress out about driving and parking, so we ended up paying a bit more to stay next door. This was literally a few minute walk, and it was a welcome relief after/between shows to be able to hop back over there, use the restroom, have a snack, and head back over. If you're going to an event at the Tacoma dome-spare yourself the agony, and stay here. I think they were overwhelmed by the amount of people wanting to eat there between shows. We had friends who waited forever to get their food, and there weren't any tables, etc. We enjoyed the coffee and cocoa in the lobby while waiting, then got food at the Tacoma Dome. Great experience. Everyone was pleasant and the location CAN'T BE BEAT!

    4
    « Garth and Trisha »

Excellent location for catching opening night of the Garth and Trisha Tacoma extravaganza. Highly recommend this property for concert events. The property also has plenty of parking but can only guarantee one space per registered guest during events which can be problematic for groups.

    4
« Clean quite and tidy Hotel »

This Hotel was rather difficult to find due to the extensive road works happening close by but the Hotel is in a quite area with free parking and free breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Though not a lot of variety of restaurants close by all within driving distance that was not far away.

    2
« Convenient location and that's about it... »

I booked a room here given the proximity to the Tacoma Dome. It was definitely a convenient walk to the concert venue, but the positive characteristics of this hotel pretty much stop there. The lobby and dining areas appear to have been remodeled, but the rooms are very dated, shabby, and unappealing. The bedding is rough and the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel staff seemed fairly uninterested in providing customer service and were even unable to point out the location of the nearest stairwell when I attempted to avoid using the elevator. Other than the convenient location, the breakfast in the morning was the only positive feature. If I return to Tacoma I'll likely stay elsewhere and just grab an Uber to the venue.

    2
« Dirty carpets, water leaking in the bathroom... »

Well, i have been using this hotel just because it is 5 min walking distance from venues i was attending. Actually the first time i went there two years ago and hotel was kinda OK for 1 night sleep. This time i booked it in advance, for a 4 nights. I booked room for three people, it was a room with two King beds. When we arrived, in the room were only two sets of towels. OK, trip to the reception and comment from reception lady was that this room is two-bed room but i have booked for three people, right? Well, that was resolved, but still... On the first glance at the room i noticed several very bad, dirty marks on the carpets, not sure what was the nature of those nor i was eager to find out. Reported to the reception and response was that they are doing carpet cleanup every so often and this room might not be on cleaning schedule yet... Hm.. Now i had no option to change the room (the next door event at Tacoma Doom filled up all rooms at least that what i was told when asked to change the room) and i had to deal with it. Mental note - make sure not to walk with bare foot.. Next morning i noticed a water leak in the bathroom. OK it might be from the shower curtain that was left outside of the bathtub.. Making sure the curtains stays in the bathtub, i checked the leak and yes, the leak is still there. So quick trip to reception (third time, they must be recognizing me right away by now), and they said to send someone to check it out soon. We went outside and when we come back to the room, the leak was even bigger. So now if you want to walk into the bathroom you have to wear sandals since there is a water, right? Fourth visit to reception and yet another answer or excuse... and a new towel on the floor to catch up all water.. Anyhow, the breakfast area was not quite comfortable, the crew that works there are over-friendly for my taste, the assortment of breakfast items to chose from is very low. On my last day, the day after the event i was attending, the breakfast area was even worse: no hot water for a tea, no yogurts, no plates and bowls, no knives, etc. Basically i think hotel does not know how to cope with the crowd, bigger than 20 people. Parking stalls in hotel underground parking are all covered with tiny layer of "something" filled with greasy, sticky material so when you walk on it you have a fear that you might get stuck for good. it feels like you are walking on a glue... Anyhow, for future Tacoma Dome event i will definitely search for another hotel. I think 5 min walk to the venue is not worth all of these hassles to the thru.. Even with BW rewards.. So to summarize, i will try to stay away from this BW hotel for future Tacoma visits, which i warmly suggest to all travelers... Enjoy Tacoma away from this hotel..

    2
« Mediocre hotel in good location »

This is a hotel worth about $60 nightly unless there is an event in the Tacoma Dome you want to attend. Prepare to pay $250+ if that is the case. The hotel is mediocre with outdated accommodation. No pool or spa. Not enough breakfast area to accommodate the guests. The only positive is that it's a few minutes walk to your concert in the Tacoma Dome. Parking is good.

    3
    « Nice hotel »

But construction in the area made locating area eateries and other things difficult...Except for the Dome. Dinner at the hotel was not good, Obviously frozen food. Breakfast was okay, omelette station a pkus

« Needs major improvements. Won't stay here again if at all possible. Not even worth it for close proxmity to Tacoma Dome »

Before starting this review, I realized that I had reviewed this hotel in 2014 and titled my review "Much Improved". Well, sadly, I am taking that back in tenfold. This hotel has really gone downhill and honestly my husband and I think that the only reason it stays in business is because of its close proximity to the Tacoma Dome. I'm surprised that Best Western Corporate feels that this hotel is worthy of being titled a "Best Western Plus" because the "Plus" means that the hotel properties are more upscale than the basic ones. This one is FAR from being upscale. We have stayed here three times I believe and we only stay here once a year because we enjoy going to the Tacoma Food and Gift Festival at the Tacoma Dome and it saves us from having to drive back and forth from our home in Snohomish County. First the lobby is nice but it's horribly designed. It was absolutely pouring yesterday on our way to Tacoma and when we got to the hotel we parked in the front and brought our stuff into the lobby. The floors are marble and very slippery, but there are very little places to wipe your feet to keep from slipping. There is a TV across from the front desk that is usually at high volume (I'm wondering if this is to entertain the front desk staff) and is usually playing some movie or some such nonsense. I don't mind TV"s of course, but it's strange that they would put it right by the door when it could be better located in the waiting area. When we finished at the Tacoma Dome last night we decided to go to the bar that is located adjacent to the breakfast area for drinks. The OPEN sign was still on (this was around 11), so I found us a seat in a booth. While my husband was gone, the sever (who hadn't acknowledged us at all when we came in but instead chose to interact with other people across the restaurant) came up to me. I thought he was going to ask what I wanted to drink but instead he told me that the place was closed. I noticed that even an hour after we left, the OPEN sign was still on. The breakfast was okay, but the area to get to it is absolutely terrible. Not ADA friendly at all. I can use stairs but the only way into the breakfast area is around the corner and up the or four stairs. Then you navigate yourself around the area, hoping not to bump into people. They did have an omelet station (under the TV of course) which was nice, but otherwise the breakfast was average at best. Last night we went down to use the computers and only one was working. The front desk staff helped me with the wi-fi code, but it took me three times to log in, using the code and username that they had given me. They do have free parking in their underground garage, but it's really a pain to get there. We have a Honda Fit (small car) and even that was a challenge getting in and out of the spaces. Fortunately we found a bar across the street last night that we tried for dinner and it was within walking distance so we braved the rain and went over there for a meal. It wasn't worth it to try to get the car out of the garage just for that. The garage says that there is a second level but it's only accessed by driving around the corner to the other garage which is really confusing. However, if you can't find a parking place in Lot A you can drive around and hopefully find one in Lot B. Now, my next complaint is not the fault of the hotel but I found that many of the guests I encountered in the elevator to be extremely rude and sarcastic. We were in the elevator and a bunch of people came on, making us go to the back to make room. I was told by a woman that I should have taken the stairs; a comment that she apparently found very funny. Another man practically shoved me into the corner and then told me to move out of the way to make room for him. I know that people like this are everywhere in the world, but it did make our stay less enjoyable. Now the room. We asked for high floor and were given 2nd floor, which wasn't a big deal, given that it was a show weekend. But most BW that we stay in are willing to honor our requests. Upon check in we were told that they had overbooked and gave us a pet room with a queen bed and that they changed it to a regular room. Oddly enough there was a sign on the desk in the room that said that the room was subject to a $50 cleaning fee (which we were not charged but the sign was there nonetheless. The ice machine on our floor was, of course out of order. The room itself was okay, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable and I had a very difficult time sleeping last night because of it. The room was nicely decorated but seriously needs an upgrade and the bathroom is even worse. The counter space was nicely arranged and they did have a hair dryer, but there was NO hot water to be found. I got into the shower and turned on the water to get it lukewarm. Then I turned it to the left to generate the hot water and it came out so ice cold that I actually screamed. I was able to turn it the other way to get it semi-lukewarm, but I was still freezing when I got out. We had been out in the rain walking to and from the Tacoma Dome and I was hoping for a hot shower, but I didn't find it here. The room temperature was impossible to get warm and we had to turn the thermostat all the way up to 75 to get it even a little warm. Just ridiculous because this is October, when the weather in Tacoma starts to get colder. The hotel is in walking distance to the Tacoma Dome, but it's very awkward to get there. We turned left at the door and made our way up the semi steep which leads to a small opening that opens up into a parking lot for the vendors. We dodged our way through cars and finally got to the sidewalk that leads to the Tacoma Dome. We stayed here, as I said before, because of the close proximity and it was nice not having to drive our car and pay $10 for a parking space in the full parking lots at the Dome, but if there is an easier way to walk to the Tacoma Dome from the hotel I'd like to know what it is. We are going to the show next year because we go every year but we are going to stay in a different hotel. On a good note, the room was quiet but that's about all I have to say on the positive side.

« Good for the price »

The hotel was comfortable and located conveniently for my conference venues on Pacific Avenue. I liked the card-accessible locked gate on the parking garage at night. Strangely, the sheets were tattered on the ends, as were some of the bath towels. They weren't ragged otherwise, though, so it really didn't matter to me. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were all soft and clean. The restaurant food was good, and it was convenient having a free full breakfast each morning. I liked the view of the city from my window.

« Not up to par »

First let me say we almost always stay at BW's, and we've stayed at this one before. If you're going to an event at the Tacoma Dome you can't beat the location, right across the parking lot! This time you might say we were here for a 'convention' a car club I belong to chose to have their national meet in Tacoma and stay here. Most things were good; excellent breakfast (except the one day the omelette maker got there late) and the room was clean. They're ?pet friendly?, but they really don't have an outside area for pets. You'll stay on the floor that's designated for pet owners, and it seems your only bed choice is 2 queens, if you want amKing you're SOL. The ice machine was out of order on our floor our entire 4 night stay. The TV didn't work well the first two nights (problem with the remote, they finally found one that worked). Most of the front desk personnel were ?indifferent' like they hated their jobs. I stupidly left a blue-tooth speaker in the room...even after they acknowledged they had it, It took FOUR WEEKS to get it back, and that's only because I contacted Corporate and they made things happen. We'll continue to be BW customers, but not at this one.

    « Tacoma Dome & Car Museum »

Let me be fair in my review as I didn't particularly care for the area this Best Western Plus is located in. There is a train that comes by in the morning that is annoying, but that is not the fault of the Hotel. There is also construction on the surrounding streets which made it a bit difficult to get to, also not a fault of the hotel. It is adjacent to the Tacoma Dome and the Car museum, both in walking distance and the security is very good. I could see from my 6th floor room the hospital I was going to visit and being close was a plus. I'm a late riser so missed breakfast but did use the lounge later in the evening and it was safe and Justin was a pleasure to chat with. If I was going to visit the car museum or attend a function at the Tacoma Dome, this would be where I would stay.

« Only stay here for proximity to Dome »

This seems like a property in transition. Good items: proximity to free tram downtown, cleaning crew does good job, walking distance close to the Dome, nice to have microwave and refrigerator in room. Breakfast buffet was ok. Bad items: got food poisoning at first night's banquet. Doctor verified. Food was lukewarm. Sick for two days, no safes in rooms. If you use safe in lobby only the manager can open it. Restaurant was extremely slow and new waitress was zany and goofy.

« Good Value Hotel Near Tacoma Done »

The hotel is extremely convenient to the Tacoma Dome and to the car museum (both are within walking distance). It is also very close to the link, which runs frequently and is free to downtown Tacoma. The hotel is obviously not new but it has been well maintained.

    « Recent convention experience »

I was very disappointed in this hotel. The breakfast was delicious. There were no facilities for lunch or dinner. You had to leave the hotel for those meals. There was a burger joint within walking distance, but that was all. The food court by the train station was terrible. In addition, I had stink bugs in my room. The hotel keeps insisting it was my fault because I left open the window. I NEVER OPENED THE WINDOW AT ALL. The weather was too cold to do that. I had trouble getting enough heat in the room to begin with.

« Great place to stay after a concert »

We stayed here after an all-day music festival happening across the street, and that's really the only reason for you to stay here. That's not a good or bad thing necessarily, but should you find yourself wanting to visit Fabulous Tacoma, there are probably better locations. Hotel itself was standard Best Western fare. Nothing overly nice, but everything was clean and in decent shape. Parking is also secure, which is nice for peace of mind. Continental breakfast got the job done for the very hungover crowd in the morning. If you do want to stay here for any reason other than going to a concert nearby, check the calendar, as the hotel basically becomes the after-party. This was great and a ton of fun for us, but probably made the hallways pretty loud if anyone was trying to sleep. Bottom line, I would absolutely stay here again if there's another show at the Tacoma Dome or the LeMay Museum.

    « Great location »

This is our go to place when attending events at the Tacoma Dome. Check in staff are friendly. The elevator is heavily used and there are wait times though when there are events going on. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our toilet flushed really slow and sometimes required 2 flushes. Complimentary breakfast is nice and the staff is friendly and helpful.

« If you are looking for a place to stay after an event at the Tacoma Dome.. »

I have been to many concerts in the past 10 years at the Tacoma Dome. It's a real pain to fight traffic and drive home after an event, especially is one has been partying. After the event you just walk back to your room. Plan way in advance, however, as rooms can sell out for an event.

« A stop on the way fromSeattle to Rainer National Park »

This hotel is located off the main freeway...so location for us was good. The hotel was ok and clean and had friendly staff too when checking in. But the room was so small even though we booked for 4 (2 adults and 2 children). It had a queen bed and a pull out sofa. The 2 kids and I slept in the main bed and my husband slept in the pullout sofa bed as it would definitely not sleep 2. The mattress on the sofa bed needs to be replaced. Room was clean but not the appropriate size for a family. Breakfast was great and even have a staff member to make fresh omelettes! That ended our experience on a high note!

« Good all round hotel experience »

Situated about 17 miles from the airport its a good first stop. Close to the dome exhibition area but also very handy for the motor museum is in walking distance. Hotel was clean and tidy and reception helpful. Breakfast was a treat with metal cutlery! And ceramic plates. Food was good too. Underground parking with connecting lift.

    « Scorpions Concert »

I stayed at this hotel because I was going to the Scorpions concert at the Tacoma Dome. The location is fantastic, you literally walk out the door and across the parking lot to the Dome. The staff was efficient, though a bit rushed due to everyone checking in at once. Parking for checking in borders on hazardous, as some patrons will park in unsafe ways due to lack of space. If you are going to an event at the Dome, I would recommend this hotel. You are going to pay for it, but overall it was worth it.

« Nice Find South of Seattle »

We stayed here after the Mariners final home game of the year and very much enjoyed our rooms. The only downside was the aged and limited TV remote. Bathroom is small but clean and bright. Hard to get hold of the front desk via phone. Well done breakfast area.

    3
« Very Good Location for our Trip Destinations »

20 minute drive to the WA State Fairgrounds in Puyallup, 45 minute bus ride to downtown Seattle--best option to get there as parking is very expensive! Free transit to downtown Tacoma and both bus stops are within walking distance from the hotel. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and pleasant to deal with. We needed information about taking the bus to Seattle and they happily assisted us. The free breakfast is your standard eggs, sausages, hash browns, waffles, cereals, etc. Nothing special but nice to be included with room charge. The only negative I need to point out and have management take notice of, is that the bath towels were frayed, and the bed sheets are pilled. The tap for the sink also needs to be fixed or replaced as it was quite loose and cannot regulate the temperature of the water properly. Other than that, the room was clean.

    « Tacoma dome »

Staff member Maria did an outstanding job. She was polite and her warm smile and great customer service made our breakfast experience awesome. Because of her great customer service I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

    « Excellent Hotel - Great Location »

This hotel is in a great location, very near to anything your little heart desires. The hotel is very clean with great amenities for the rooms. Free in-room internet/wifi. The hotel has a free breakfast which was very good. Great for families or couples. Hotel has free parking.

    « Needs Updates »

We stayed at BW Tacoma Dome for our weeklong visit to the Tacoma area. This hotel really had a lot to offer but in general, I found it to be generally really outdated. Basically the place may be stuck in the 90s. They have complimentary wifi, breakfast and parking. The staff seemed to be hardworking, especially the cleaning staff. There were a few things that were unacceptable. First, one morning the water didn't work. No explanation or apology was offered. Second, the refrigerator in the room freezes your food. I saw this mentioned in other reviews (there is no dial to adjust the temperature). Lastly, the room is cluttered with furniture that is both outdated and unnecessary (lamps, coffee table, stained couch). The rooms are small and the extra furniture doesn't help. Location will only get better once the rail platform is complete but this hotel has a long way to go if they want to make it.

    « Overnight stay... »

Alright so I was traveling to Washington for a wedding. The plan was to spend one night in Tacoma, leaving early early morning via the train. The whole reason I chose that hotel was because of its closeness to the train station 'n it's seemingly reasonable price. When I arrived in Tacoma, I was exhausted, I was feeling dirty. I was a zombie. I trudged a couple of blocks through sketchy neighborhoods, smashed cigarette butts, broken glass, concrete torn up by construction, rowdy drunks, up a hill, to get to the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome... First let me state, I specifically asked in my reservation with Booking.com a 11:00ish check in and that I would like a ground floor room. Let it be known, none of that happened, so don't count on anything you book for at this Best Western. It was 11:00ish 'n I was informed that I arrived too early to be checked into my room, hard 'n fast. I didn't take that for rudeness. The girl working there was obviously very busy/tired. I get that... The girl behind the front desk informed me that I could leave my bag with them. I did... For about 4 hours I tried to stay awake 'n kill time in Tacoma... I returned. I retrieved my bag 'n touched bases with the guy who was now working the front desk. He checked me in 'n then he was all oops your room is still dirty, no room for you... I waited in the lounge 'n watched Hurricane Irma on the tv and all the problems the other guests were having. Side note: don't book with Expedia unless you want to spend forever getting your stuff moved into a different room... At 3:00ish, I went back up to the front desk to see if my room was ready yet... It wasn't. I waited for a half an hour after that... Finally my room was clean... Then I had to check in all over again because they somehow lost all my information. I was okay with that, the guy who first checked me in was obviously new to his job 'n didn't know all the ins 'n outs... They gave me the whole tired spiel about parking 'n the free breakfast 'n such. I was hanging on by a thread... They told me the elevator had a card reader. I tried to use said card reader. After like 20 minutes of looking like an idiot they informed me, oh hey the card reader doesn't actually work... I wasn't really on the ball right then, I was basically sleepwalking... So I asked them, hey what is my room number 'n what floor is my room on? They reacted as if I was insane...I remained polite throughout all this crap. Apparently the room number was written on one side of the tiny envelope that held my keycard. My room number was there, but not the floor number... I was lucky that I asked them because I could of spent hours pinging around that whole hotel trying to find my floor and my room. Now aside from the nonfunctional card reader on the elevator door, I have a type of red/green color blindness and nothing was clearly marked on the outside of the elevator door. So it took me forever to figure out where the buttons were and what the heck to press...please remember at that time I was essentially brain dead. Now, the elevator and the whole hotel is generally dated... The hallways of the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome are dimly lit, labyrinthian, with low ceilings and disorienting 70's style carpet. Thank goodness for the cleaning staff, they helped me so much to get to where I needed to go... It was crunch time, the clock was ticking 'n I had about two hours before the wedding... When I opened my bag, nothing was missing, which speaks very well of the staff... When I finally got into my room, it was pretty decent. It was clean, the bed was nice, it had a window you could open for fresh air. The power strip with the phone charger outlet was a bit wonky(it would blip on and off), but aside from that nothing majorly wrong. The bathroom was nice, clean, lots of towels. There was hot water 'n the shower had surprisingly good water pressure for being on the 4th floor... I spent a night there. I got up early, too early to try the free breakfast. I had a train to catch. I thought it was an okay stay. That was until today. I was looking at my bank account today. I was charged $70 more than Booking.com and Best Western itself confirmed as the price I was to pay, which included the various taxes. I did nothing there to incur that extra $70. I didn't watch any movies. I kept my room tidy... Heck I didn't have time to do anything except these four things: go to the bathroom, shower, drink two ancient weak filter bags of coffee 'n try to delete voicemails on the stupid desk phone because there was a super annoying blinky, you got messages, light. The voicemail thing was a lost cause, too many voicemails, I ended up covering the phone... Honestly I don't know why I was charged that extra $70, fishy charge was fishy. Usually Best Westerns are dependable, but this one was the most rundown, mismanaged Best Western I've ever stayed at... Also the price didn't match the size or quality of my room. Way too expensive considering what I was actually charged in the end. My overall experience with the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome wasn't the exactly the best. I'm not picky, a clean bed 'n a decent price 'n I'm good. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone? Only if you have an event over at the Tacoma Dome and money is no object. Otherwise look elsewhere.

« Good location for museums. So so hotel »

Stayed here one night. Visited Glass Museum which was disappointing - don't bother, just do the walk which has some very nice glass exhibits. The Car Museum was wonderful. Lots there even if you're not a car buff. Route 66 display and info was really fun.

« Amazing hotel and decor »

Once you walk into the entrance you will be impressed with the decor, very modern and clean! The front desk ladies are friendly and helpful. The rooms are also clean and beautiful....beds are so comfortable!

« Hotel near Tacoma Dome »

The hotel is situated close to the railway station and the Tacoma Dome. The costless tram, a few minutes' walk from the hotel, takes the visitor to Tacoma City Centre. Unfortunately, in an area which wasn't safe in the night. But the hotel itself was a three-star hotel and ?OK?. The complimentary breakfast included possibility to order an omelette from 08.00. Internet 15 down and 2 up. Nice staff in the restaurant and at the reception.

    3
« not much to do »

This was the smallest queen-bed room I've ever stayed in in a Best Western. The bed was comfortable, the fridge and microwave worked well although the fridge froze my pop but I had not checked the temperature. There were few, if any, available places to plug in my laptop, phone and iPad. I had to improvise and plug them into my computer. The toilet was very low. Breakfast was complimentary but nothing special. The slice of bread I ate was stale (was it brown bread or whole wheat?); after that I stuck to cereal (was it raisin bran?? ). No labels. .There are no convenient stores within walking distance. The only saving grace of the location was the used bookstore a block away. I have stayed in better Best Westerns for less!

    2
    « very disapointed »

I can't recommend this hotel. The staff were very rude. They took a deposit on check-in because they say people try and steal their TV's. The room did not have a hairdryer, their excuse was that someone stole it. The room was very stuffy. Breakfast was ok, nothing great. I can't remember being treated so badly as a paying guest.

    2
    « DON'T STAY HERE! »

I will not stay here again, not worth it. I will book a room down the road and take the link to get to the Tacoma Dome area. Upon arrival my room was hot, stale. After being gone 5 hours with the air on max, still hot. The decor is super dated, the window curtains were stained and ripped. The bathroom outlet did not function. Breakfast was okay, but half the people eating were hotel employees. Super unprofessional! There are many options for lodging in Tacoma, I will not return here.

    3
« A place to lay your head »

The hotel is in a convenient location. This area of Tacoma appears to be in transition. Hotel decor is a bit out dated. Rooms are small and have a low ceiling. Bathroom in my room was small and the toilet very low. Gym equipment needs updating.

    « It's a basic hotel »

Rooms - Clean and spacious Food - Breakfast is OK, nothing amazing. Location - Not great, in a run down area. Staff - Nice but our first night the bar and restaurant failed to open as staff failed to turn up for work. The one good thing is that it's really close to the Olive Branch Tea Room which is amazing and is so worth a look. End of the day it's a Best Western, get what you pay for.

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

The hotel is good but due to being next to the Tacoma Dome the parking situation was difficult. I had a 97-year-old with me so close in and level parking was very important. This hotel has a parking garage but requires checking in before parking. That's OK but I wasn't in a position to make that work.

    5
« Great stay and Location »

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and room was as advertised. Great customer service and deluxe breakfast available every morning from 6-10. This hotel is the closest to the Tacoma Dome and a good 30-40 minute drive to Seattle. Overall great experience and will definitely recommend.

    « Stay with caution »

The rooms are clean but the amenities are not acceptable for the amount of money you spend on a room. I was here for a concert at the dome, while it was very convenient to stay at this hotel it would of been a better experience to take an uber to the venue and stay at a cheaper hotel.

    5
    « Concert convenience! »

We booked this hotel approximately 9 months before the Bruno Mars concert and I'm SO glad that we did! The hotel is a SHORT walk to the Tacoma Dome! Great location, great staff, clean hotel and room, and great parking! We were given hot breakfast vouchers for the cafe downstairs for each day (arrived Saturday and checked out Tuesday)! There's also a lounge/bar downstairs! Saturday evening the hotel shuttle dropped us off at the Emerald Casino, and the taxi ride back to the hotel was $10 (scenic route)! The casino had a concert there as well (Cheech & Chong - sold out), so there was lots of traffic there as well...but not for us! With over 20k people attending the concert and road/highway construction -- we were so thankful we found this hotel!

« You would have to be desperate »

Stay somewhere nice in Tacoma and take light rail to the Dome. This is as close to a dump as a hotel can get! Filthy rooms horrible food clueless staff no interest in making the experience nice. Best thing that can happen is knocking down the building and starting over

    4
    « Stay for Concert »

Hotel was a bit overpriced I feel but may have been what the market would bear as there was a concert next door and everything in town was booked. All we needed was a bed. The rooms were good and typical of a best western. The room seemed a bit hot even though the A/C was set to 60. It may have been do to the outside temp and the AC had to work. The bed was comfy, internet seemed fast and full breakfast was great.

    4
    « Pleasant Stay Overall »

We were here for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay here. There is free continental breakfast that is redeemed by using vouchers given to you upon check in. Our room was on the second floor with a view of the Tacoma Dome. We had a mini-fridge in the room that was a decent size and the bed and sheets were comfy. The one annoyance was that the hotel was sold out for a rodeo event at the Tacoma Dome so it was hard to find a parking spot in the garage when we came back in the evening on our second night. There was an attendant that showed us where to park though. We basically had to make our own spot off to the side near a supply room. If I'm in the Tacoma area again I wouldn't mind staying here a second time. P.S. The soda machine is weird in that it will not tell you how much your drink is until after you've paid by credit card (No cash or coin accepted). My small bottle of water (I think it was 8 or 10 oz) was $1.

    4
    « Clean Hotel »

The location was a little out of the way but the service was good and the hotel was clean. Comfortable bed and nicely equipped room. Restaurant had good food and service. Not a lot of choices on the menu however but what we had was very good. Probably will stay here again in the future.

    1
« Needs a major update, not a good hotel »

This hotel is shabby, the room had stains on the sofa, tears in the lampshades, crack on the window pane, the iron didn't work, the bathroom was tiny, toilet blocked and the shower water was boiling hot, took 20 mins for cool water to come through (on the 6th floor), the room was clean but with being old felt dirty, the neighbourhood is dodgy, even felt unsafe driving, however the breakfast was good. If you are booking for a family the sofa bed will only fit one child, the king/sofa room was only good for 3 people not 4 as requested for, the front desk did nothing to help with the situation of a family of 4 in a room for 3, no cots, no other rooms (which was weird since the parking lot had 4 cars in it and breakfast was quiet).

    2
    « Poor Customer Service »

My husband and I drove 6 hours to stay here for a concert. We arrived to check in and was told our room wasn't ready. No big deal we will go for a walk and come back. 20 minutes after our walk in the heat we returned and the girl behind the desk says, "It's not ready yet". She didn't look at us no apology or courteous explanation as to what's going on she just picked up the phone and ignored us. It was almost an hour after check in before we could get in our room. We were sweaty and gross and now had no time to get cleaned up for a nice dinner and the show. We spent our entire time there walking around waiting for our room. With road construction and parking being so expensive you don't dare drive anywhere. Customer service was NOT a priority here. I'm so disappointed and will stay elsewhere next time. A smile and apologetic explanation would have made the situation a little easier but that was lost on the front desk here.

    3
« Too expensive for old hotel »

Stayed one night while in the city to see a concert. The room was small and outdated. The main thing going for this hotel is the location but it is still way too expensive for the quality of accomodations. Full breakfast in the morning was nice and the front desk staff was nice. Would have liked a pool.

    « Great hotel!!!!!! »

This is a wonderful hotel. My brother was staying here to write his bar exam and they set aside a group of rooms for all the students at a discounted rate. That was very thoughtful. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I am definitely going to use this location again. Three cheers for the great staff.

    « Convenience Plus!! »

We were attending a wedding at the Washington History Museum on a Saturday Night, and wanted to stay somewhere downtown. We found a room here only a few days ahead of our trip. We found it easily as it is literally right behinf the Tacoma Dome. They offer underground parking for quests at no charge, Free wi-fi, free Buffet Breakfast. THe room offered refrigerator, microwave, cofee machine... the bedstand offered USB connections as well as electrical outlets for chargers, CPAP, etc. The bed was comfortable while reasonably firm. Lots of Pillows, iron and ironing board. Our room was the first from the elevator and we never heard a sound once we closed the door to our room. Most important... a very reasonable price compared to other downtown Tacoma Hotels. I would assuredly recommend this hotel for anyone in the Downtown Tacoma Area.

« Great stay in Tacoma »

I recently stayed at Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome for two nights while in town visiting family. This was my first stay and it will not be my last! I am very loyal to the Best Western brand and BW Tacoma Dome did not disappoint. This will be my new home base when visiting family in the area. Every employee I encountered was eager to help and very professional. Parking was easy and the room was spacious and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Tacoma area.

« Honest, caring professional staff »

The staff made the stay in this hotel above ordinary. Friendly, professional and welcome at all levels. I accidentally dropped my wallet in the lobby as I was leaving. Housekeeper took it to the front desk with nothing touched. Everyone was just so helpful.

    « Real comfort »

Looking for a place to rest and relax while visiting Tacoma and the surrounding areas Then stay here it's quiet and gives you peace of mind The staff is so helpful and they make sure you are taken care of, they go out of their way to be sure you are comfortable.

    3
    « Very Disappointing »

Not up to the usual BW standard we have come to expect. We kept getting the interconnecting door bumped and thought what inconsiderate people next door until a huge dog started barking just as we went to be. We complained and the reception staff said they would ask the owners to keep the dog quiet. However the dog barked early again the next morning. We have nothing against pets but the hotel should confine them to a separate are of the hotel. Breakfast was awful, eggs like old boot leather, no bacon, juice reconstituted stuff, very bitter. Also there was a cat wandering around the dining are when we went down and then it was on the tables. Overall a very overpriced disappointing stay and would not go there again.

    2
    « Ridiculous Issues »

Mildew around the top of the bathtub is NEVER acceptable neither is a room and floor that NEVER cools down. I am a disabled person and this stay wrecked havoc on me. I complained about the room not cooling down. The reply was the GM knows about this issue. I interpret it as they don't care about fixing it. Being a disabled person the bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen anywhere and is impossible to maneuver around. The tub had the bars but nowhere else. If you have a disability STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

    3
« Nice but not to rave about. »

We have stayed @ this Best Western on 3 separate occasions. I had to book reservations through Expedia because I was never able to contact the hotel directly at the time I needed to make reservations. The rooms are clean, but on the small side. The WiFi is a bit on the slow side. The included breakfast has a good selection, cafeteria style. The on-site, secured parking is handy & appreciated. The first 2 times staying, only one elevator was functioning, but that problem appeared to have been adequately repaired before our 3rd stay. Overall, a good experience. The Hotel is conveniently located with easy freeway access & numerous things within easy walking distance including the Tacoma Dome. We will most likely be staying there again in the future.

    3
    « Not a Plus property/United Airlines overbooking? »

We made our reservation online through BW and paid a premium price for a King bed only to learn on arrival that BW online overbooks "regularly" and no kings were available. 2nd time this has happened in last 4 BW stays, not a good record and too close to United Airlines treatment of customers! The rooms appear to get high usage due to Tacoma Dome location but property managers are not doing the higher long-term maintenance like painting more frequently or shampooing carpets more often that such usage requires (many scary stains in carpet!). This property did not match our BW Plus experiences at other similarly badged properties and should be considered a lower level property making the price too high.

    « Not worth it »

I stayed here when my sister went into labor after driving up from Portland. Upon arriving, the hotel was busy but the service was friendly. I got to my room and found hair in the shower. So I called and was switched rooms. In the new room, when my daughter and I went to brush our teeth, the water was GREY. We let it run for a while and it cleared up but we were skeptical about using it. I went to wash my face that night and reach for a towel with someone else black hair on it.. I'm blonde and so is my daughter.. it definitely wasn't ours. We were there for two nights and after the first night and a trip to see my sister, we came back to find out our keys to our room had been deactivated. The staff let us back in but this was by far the worst experience I have had at a hotel. Overall the staff was nice and the bed was comfortable but I will not be going back and I am frequently in this area.

    « moderate service »

good hotel, moderate service. The front desk is going to give you a challenging time if you are trying to apply any discounts you may have read about online. Strong suggest confirming stay well ahead of time. Rooms are clean and fair service from local restaurants. Cleaning crew was amazing and helpful when they were around.

    « Typical Best Western »

We found this hotel in an emergency. It was adequate. The breakfast was great! The halls were not vacuumed and our room had some issues. Outlet in bathroom didn't work, plug in broken etc. Front desk staff was very efficient.

    « Needs an overhaul »

Rude front desk person, slow draining toilets (or not at all), low water pressure in shower, tub didn't drain, lumpy pillows. This hotel needs some updating and servicing. The front doors slam together on your way out (sound like they are going to break), the hotel is just in need of a change. It is very convenient to the Tacoma Dome, though.

    « Convention »

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was amazingly good and we felt very much appreciated. We found the rooms to be clean and fresh as well as the lobby. We took advantage of the restaurant and had breakfast, both were very good.

« Nice Hotel near Trolley »

On the plus side, the hotel is a short walk to a Tacoma trolley station making it convenient to get to downtown. It is also right next to the Tacoma Dome which is nice if you are going to an event there. The downside is that the immediate area is not all that attractive or developed. I wouldn't call it unsafe or rundown, just a little funky. Other than that, it was a nice room, the free breakfast was typical Best Western (although they did have a chef making omelettes to order), the hotel restaurant was good for an easy meal after a busy day, the parking was free, and the staff was friendly. My wife and I would stay there again.

« Cum here to see concerts »

I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions for concerts. It is the absolute best location in proximity to the venue of any hotel BUT, it is a "Concert Hotel" so the rooms are heavily used. We stayed in the Sauna suite, the sauna was inoperable and there was makeup smeared on the walls in the corners (one could picture how it got there), with the jets on in the Jacuzzi tub there was a wet dog smell and water floods out on the floor, and last but not least, there was semen on the headboard. As a matter of fact, every time I have stayed at this hotel I have found semen on the head boards. Three separate room types and locations, all on the 5th floor of the hotel, all had semen splattered on the headboards. I pointed it out to the front desk every time, not once have I received an apology nor any form of compensation. I also had to request it to be cleaned up, being the cleaning was not offered.Honestly this is possibly the most indifferent staff at a hotel that I have ever experienced, they seem to have the attitude of (your lucky we let you stay here). So would I stay here again? The answer is a cautious, yes. I wish there was another option that was as close for concerts, but there is not. So if you decide to (cum) for a visit (pun intended) please bring some sanitary wipes along.

Enjoyable stay and location to the Dome were great to walk over to the event. Cleanliness was great, only thing was one elevator running at the time it took several hours to get it fixed. Shower pressure was bad and no fan in bathroom .

« Great place to stay »

Very comfortable nice location and generous lobby. We walked safely in the area before we turned in and found some interesting places to visit when we return and have more time. Good breakfast and close to the Tacoma Dome, car museum and glass museum.

    « Good Room »

I was in town on some not so fun business. I checked in late and only needed to rest, shower and use the internet. I tried to use the "business center" computer but it would not print. I did not report it, was just not in a place to speak with anyone. I got good rest and was able to shower. All in all it was OK.

    « Reliable »

I've stayed at the BW Tacoma Dome many times. Over the years I've only had 1 or 2 difficulties and they were remedied. Breakfast is good for free, rooms are relatively quiet, beds are comfortable, but it's time for a remodel. The restaurant, not so good, more like bar food, but it's handy. The only trouble I've encountered is very limited parking during a Dome event.

    « Good Value Choice »

Stayed at the BW Plus for one night in June. Price was reasonable, $70 cheaper than a similar property only 8-9 miles away in Puyallup. Room was a bit dated, but in good repair, quiet, and clean. Breakfast a real bonus, the omelet station is a great idea, DH and I both enjoyed it very much. Night staff at front desk was a tad brusque, but that's a minor point. Would definitely stay at this BW again.

« Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome »

An excellent hotel that is centrally located off I-5. Room was clean, beautifully furnished and quiet. Parking garage plus outside of bldg was convenient. The full breakfast was great! Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. There is Wifi also. I would definitely stay there again!

« Okay for the price »

I stayed at this hotel in 2016 and was very pleased. Not this year; non-smoking room smelled like smoke, handicap room commode was so low, no hot water for shower--hotel changed my room. ATM did not work, complimentary shuttle was in the shop for repairs and was finally operable the morning I was leaving--hotel called Yellow Cab for a graduation I was attending and the driver was very rude, disrespectful and obnoxious, two washcloths were provided and the room was cleaned the day before I left and housekeeping left no wash cloths so I used the hand towels and last, no change at the front desk because I wanted to use the laundry room. Attending a graduation in 2018 and do not plan on staying at the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome Hotel. I will add that the breakfast buffet with omelet station was the highlight.

    3
    « Meh! »

I asked for a room with a view on the 6th floor. What I got was a room facing away from the bay, and towards the Tacoma Dome. Not what you want to be looking at. The Television was so dark, that, even in the dark was hard to see. The remote batteries where nearly dead, because I had to be within 5' of the TV in order for it to work.

    3
    « Time to Remodel »

We have noticed a decline in the hotel's quality over the past several years. Not terrible but not great. The location of the hotel, next the the Tacoma Dome and across the street from Le May-America's Car Museum is ideal. It's time to consider a remodeling. Hotels take a beating. This one is getting beat to death.

    « Average Hotel »

If the hotel is busy parking is a major problem. But the hotel is clean and during our stay it was quiet. I had no problems at all. The front desk could be a bit more friendly but they were not rude. Overall an average Best Western

« Door didn't work. Breakfast needed Utensils »

When we first arrived I thought the check in went ok - seemed quick and smooth but when we went up to our room the key code turned green and the door opened a crack and then stopped. It was like someone inside had flipped the inside switch. I hauled all my bags back down to the lobby to ask for a new room. I was told I must not know how to use a hotel room key and was sent back upstairs with the handyman who also told me the mechanics of a hotel room lock. Once we got there he realized quickly that I was correct and the room door would not open. He proceeded the throw himself against the door many multiples of times before the door opened and I said I wanted a different room. He said it wouldn't happen again so I asked him to close the door and try again which again locked only this time he was unable to force his way in. At that point I asked him for another room and he went away and came back with keys for a different room. But! When I tried my card in that room a couple of times the door was opened by a man who was staying in the room - I was told the wrong room number! Finally I was given the correct (empty) room number and we proceeded with our stay. The room was sufficient, although I didn't understand why a room for four people would only have three towels. I didn't feel like dealing with the front counter again so I just shared my towel with my daughter. The beds were ok. The pillows ok. The view was of the Tacoma Dome and parking lot so could have been nicer but if that was our destination that was ok. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good but there was no utensils at all and no staff appeared to be staffing the area so we had to eat pancakes and eggs with our fingers and "drink" our yogurt. Overall this is an ok hotel that has some changes that could improve the experience but the price was right.

« Convenient location for Tacoma and Seattle »

I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and found it was really convenient for Seattle as well as Tacoma. It offers free parking, and we walked to the bus stop and let the bus driver worry about the traffic into Seattle. It's a large hotel, with a good breakfast. It also has a bar and a small restaurant with decent prices. The bathrooms have constant, loud ventilation, but this may have been turned down during the night, as we didn't notice it.

« Great location Good value »

Perfect location to attend events at Tacoma Dome and to visit other tourist sites in Tacoma. Next to free Trans Link to downtown. Free parking. Breakfast is poor when hotel is fully booked and good on days with few guests. Good value if you can find a promotional rate.

    « Poor »

Poor experience, mislead at check in..the more experienced lady had a very poor attitude and was misleading. Room was not adequate. Breakfast selection was good but very crowed and they ran out of certain things. At check in there were no cups for the water offered.

    « Great visit »

Came to Tacoma for a concert. The hotel provided a courtesy shuttle to our theater and the staff were extremely helpful, The complementary breakfast was excellent. Made to order omelets on Sunday morning. YUM. There was a small restaurant in the hotel that was adequate for dinner before the show. Really nothing to write home about but it was better than wandering around the city looking for something. The room was very nice. Only little negative in an otherwise clean room--I found a long black hair in the bath tub. I have blond curly hair and my husband has none. The amenities were good enough, basic not so great coffee and only powdered creamer but the tea was ok. Everything else was so very good i am not complaining The location is actually in a rather ugly part of town but right beside the Dome so anyone going to an event there could not do better.

    4
    « Nice and Convenient »

Nice, clean place to stay if attending an event at the Tacoma Dome. Only a couple minutes walk for someone in normal health. (It is uphill from the hotel, but not too bad of an incline for those with mobility issues). The TV had several stations that were just static, but other than that everything worked fine. The bed was comfortable and the pillows aplenty. The food for the continental breakfast was very tasty, however, they need to get more coordinated on having eggs and sausages available at the SAME time, and available all the time, so that no matter when you go, food is hot and ready for you. That's the only complaint I have. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

    3
    « Business Trip Hotel »

OK hotel for a business trip. The restaurant was closed when we were there in the evening so we had to eat over-priced bar food. The bar was understaffed with only one person serving about 25 people and the food wasn't great. The breakfast was good enough. The rooms were also good enough.

« Out of two months in Washington, this was my favorite hotel! »

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, relatively spacious, clean and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and we had a BIG window in our room. It was a bit drafty, but it was well worth having the extra light! We had a small table, two chairs and a desk and office chair, small coffee maker refrigerator and microwave in our two queen bed room. The WiFi was painless! The heat worked well and we very much enjoyed our stay here. It was my favorite room we'd stayed in during our 2 months in Washington and because it was the Easter weekend and there wasn't anything going on in the TacomaDome we got it for a very reasonable price. There are two elevators --which require a room key to access--so we felt very safe. There's ample seating available in the lobby and a small sitting area just off the elevators (on the 5th floor-not sure about the others). There's a TV in the lobby and one in the breakfast area. There' are computers in the breakfast area as well. The hotel has a restaurant, but we didn't use it except to get a bottle of wine. The wine was really good. There's also a bar in the hotel; quite pricey--at least for my favorite gin so we skipped it. The breakfast in this hotel was a wonder! There was fresh, hot good tasting coffee in abundance and just about everything you could want to eat for the average American breakfast. They make omelettes to order and have a variety of ingredients available. There are also scrambled eggs, sausages, fried potatoes, sausage gravy, biscuits, oatmeal, waffles in addition to cereals, breads, pastries, donuts, yogurt, two kinds of milk and juice. The breakfast area is raised and enclosed with a nice railing. It was just a VERY lovely way to wake up in the morning. Breakfast is served until 10. All of the staff were all courteous and helpful, especially those preparing omelettes. The neighborhood down the hill is rather charming with older buildings and a little mall that has food stalls in it. We got food from the Greek place and it was good, but not fabulous; the lamb gyro was the best thing we'd gotten. No one else's entree was worth mentioning. The pita with hummus was really good. (This restaurant is not afraid to use fenugreek.) There's a hamburger shop, one that serves fish & chips and a couple of other ethnic cuisines as well. There's a hotel shuttle available to take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. The bus station is just down the hill two blocks and another two blocks to the right. There's a trolley stop nearby as well.

« Best Free Breakfast In Tacoma »

Not one to really write reviews but my daughter, dog and I have stayed in three hotels over the last 7 months. We lost our home due to a major sewage flood. I will review the others next. (Murano 6mo) (Holiday Inn Express 1mo) and (Best Western Plus 2 days) This was a nice place to stay and pet friendly. The price wasn't to bad. Definitely less expensive than the other two. This was a short trip just a couple days while we try and find a new home. I wouldn't eat dinner in the restaurant. I could tell most of the food was frozen and I didn't eat any of it. My daughter loved the pizza and that was the one good thing. Hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and prompt to bring you anything you need. And out of all the hotels we have stayed in the free breakfast was out of this world!!! Words can't even explain it! If you're just planning on a few days or week trip this is the place. Not a lot of amenities but I realized this is more of where business people must come to stay. We wanted to stay longer but they are booked. For the price I would recommend this place number one. And don't forget the amazing breakfast. Not your typical free breakfast. Homemade everything from waffles to omelets.

    2
« poor location unless you are attending a concert or using sound transit »

front desk basically lazy - guest room attendants need training badly - bathrooms need to be better maintained, linen worn out - evidence of dead bugs seen around facility, homeless camp under overpass within 150 yards (3 to 4 blocks) trains within one block of hotel, horns early AM hours - only views are of port with tacoma skyline or dome - breakfast not good - fruit old and bruised etc. - no daily newspaper - construction everywhere and nobody told us about it or apologized for the awful noise - no value, well overpriced for a dirty facility, limited parking under hotel -

« Poorly managed Best Western Tacoma Dome »

We booked this hotel strictly out of convenience to the Tacoma Dome but also because we usually have good luck with BW throughout the US and Europe. The performance at the Tacoma Dome started at 5:00 pm and ended at 8:00 pm. We were looking forward to a drink at the bar and light dinner before retiring. However, turned out that the sold out hotel guests all returned to find out the MANAGER had sent home all but 1 bartender and 1 person in the kitchen. The line up was unbelievable - there was no way we were going to get anything. We, finally, ordered a pizza which took over one hour to be delivered due to traffic after the event.

    « Tired, old-fashioned »

My husband & I stayed 2 nights here; before and after a 3 night stay in Leavenworth, WA. All personnel were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and the bedding was comfortable. Wifi is free. Mini frig and coffeemaker is in room. Breakfast was included. There was ample food choices, both hot and cold. There is a secure parking garage attached to the hotel. This place needs an update desperately! All furnishings are very dated in the rooms, though in good condition. The bathrooms are a little tacky. Seems like new shower heads were installed but poorly done. We'd go back as a 'last resort'.

    « glass elevators »

We were on the second floor overlooking the parking lot of the Tacoma Dome. The people in the room next to us had a small child and a dog and both of them whined. The ice machine on the 2nd floor didn't work, so i had to go to the 4th floor to get ice..twice. The toilet clogged with just toilet paper in it. Housekeeping brought us a plunger fairly quickly. The Season's restaurant had a selection of 2 desserts, not enough choices on the menu for Entrees and such. Pretty pricey. but no other choices for food. nothing close by.

« Never stay at Tacoma Dome Best Western »

Noise outside, filthy carpets, inadequate number of food service staff resulting in 2 hour wait for food that was served cold and neither staff nor manager cared. This was the worst hotel experience of my life.

    « Disappointed »

Rooms were fine, would not recommend the restaurant. The food looked good but they are way understaffed and took an 90 minutes to get our cold food because they only had 1 waitress. Management weren't understanding of the situation. Hopefully this was the exception.

« Decent hotel walking distance to Tacoma Dome »

We spent the night at the Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome hotel last Saturday night in order to not need to drive home late after a concert. I immediately thought it hadn't changed one bit since we were there 14 years ago, aging and on its way to being considered run down. That said, there was nothing in disrepair I could find, it just had the feeling of being old and kind of dingy. (The color schemes, materials used looked late 70ish and a little dark.) That said our room was clean, beds were fairly comfortable. Though the sheets made me itch, probably needed an extra rinse cycle to get all of the detergent out. I was surprised at the included breakfast- it was pretty good. Fresh scrambled eggs kept coming out, sausage, fruit, waffle maker, biscuits and gravy. Nice touch and good coffee, Seattles Best I believe. Aside from the fact it looked like we time warped back to the 70's it was great to be able to walk to the concert, and wake up to a good breakfast. We would stay again.

Can't beat the location ... right across the street from the Tacoma Dome. Staff very professional ... clean room ... very quiet at night. Easy access to and from I-5. Lot of activities very close by (e.g. Lemay America's Car Museum, Point Defiance Zoo & Fort Nisqually) as well as very nice sweets (Corina Bakery & Legendary Doughnuts).

    3
    « scary neighborhood »

This hotel location is unsafe to walk at night. Homeless people everywhere. It is a long way to downtown Tacoma by foot or even to the train station a few blocks away. We felt uneasy using underground parking, so we parked in front of the entrance door. There is no nearby market for supplies. Must drive 10 minutes to one. We went for the Tacoma Dome RV show right next door.

« Extremely Poor Internet Service »

This location utterly lacked any meaningful internet service. I am a physician who travels and when I am constantly competing with other guests for bandwidth or when it is nearly impossible to connect to the wi-fi then I must consider alternative hotels in the future.

It was a good place to stay i stayed there while attending an event last summer great breakfast and great view of the city i would reccomend this to any one. Really close to the local freeways and downtown district

    « Room was clean & nice. »

Staff was friendly. Walking distance to Amtrak station. Free local shuttle. Negative: Breakfast was so-so. There was an omlet station but noone was there the entire time we were eating. We arrived in the evening and were informed that the lounge/bar was closing an hour earlier than the posted on the door sign. Got 1/2 price appetizers (there are only 4 choices) and they were not good--wasted money on not good food. The smell of people smoking on the 6th floor when the window was open was terrible. Overall I would stay at the hotel again--it's right next door to the Tacoma Dome--but would not eat there.

    3
    « Nice hotel, but........... »

We did enjoy our stay the Best Western Tacoma. Only advice to others would be to confirm daily rate at time of check in. We were charged a higher rate for our 2nd and 3rd nights even though we were told all days would be the same. the problem was corrected when we received an email later after check out. Do check your bill at check out.

« Tacoma Dome Best Western »

While the room itself was very nice - it was small. There was no vanity in the bathroom which made it difficult. The breakfast was very good with a good variety of food choices. The location is kind of hard to find unless you are familiar with the area. Also being woke up at 4:30 am, 5:30 am and 6:00 am by the train whistle was irritating.

    4
    « OK stay... »

Mostly OK but check your coffee maker before you go to bed so you don't have a rude "awakening" in the morning with a non-functioning coffee maker. Freeway noise was bothersome but only because I sleep with the windows ajar.

    « Don't Book Meetings Here! »

NEVER book a meeting here! The staff is unprofessional, rude, and disorganized! The few times I've booked something here, I have to wait until the very last minute to finalize everything. They have 1 person who handles meetings and that person doesn't come in until 2pm pacific time. Now how is that conducive to people located in the midwest or east coast? Are we supposed to work late to accommodate that ridiculous schedule? And don't bother trying to get any information out of anyone else because they're all completely clueless!

« Family reunion hotel stay »

We went to Washington for a family reunion...my mother turned 90...and we all came in from all over the country to see her and my whole family. I have very bad allergies and made the hotel aware of that and requested a non-smoking room. They gave us a room marked non-smoking however it had most definetly been smoked in...so badly that it triggered me having an asthma attack!!! It was horrible. I couldn't sleep...used every allergy medication and inhaler that I brought with me and I was absolutely miserable! We told the hotel...they didn't offer to move YS to another room....didn't comp our room...they did absolutely nothing!!! Don't stay here!

    « Nice stay »

Typical Best Western Plus hotel, which is sufficient and good value for the money. Room was a but smallish for our family with little kids, as well as the bathroom, but sofa bed was useful. There didn't seem to be any air conditioning and the room got very dry at night so I had to lay a wet towel around for humidity. Location was convenient for easy highway access. Loved breakfast omulet, but there was not enough fruit choices. My one disappointment was not having a pool - my kids would have loved it. Other than that it was all that we needed. We got a Groupon deal at discount.

The lobby floors were highly polished. All staff was friendly. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only negative is no fan in bathroom. Stayed here 3 yrs ago. « A good BW Plus property in a good location. »

Exterior looks a little rough but once you get inside, all is good. I'd rate this property as a 3.5 star. Friendly, efficient desk staff. Underground garage parking with direct to your floor elevators. Nicely appointed room. Fridge/microwave. New HDTVs. Above average breakfast with custom omelettes. But short on fruit. (apple/orange/banana in a bowl?) Decent coffee. A top choice in Tacoma that is a good value right next to the dome and car museum. Quick access to freeways and downtown.

    « Not so good »

Our stay was in August, if you like heat, this is the place for you, the air conditioning did not cool the room, we called maintenance, they said to give it time, our stay was 2 nights, it still was not cool, also because we choose 2 queen bed, the room had no comfortable chair to sit and read, however the staff was very nice, but all in all I can't say that I recommend this hotel

« Wonderful place to stay »

This hotel is clean, comfortable, and the service was wonderful. I stayed for three nights while getting my daughter settled into Univ. of Puget Sound (a 12-15 minute drive). They serve a nice breakfast, especially when there is someone making omelets. The front desk staff was always helpful with any of my questions. Beds were comfortable and the room clean and quiet. I especially liked the quiet air conditioning--as the temperature was in the 90's during my visit. As a side note: There is a nice small restaurant right across the street. It's always great to get out of the hotel, but not wanting to drive, so it was a great place to relax, have an appetizer and glass of wine.

    « OK place »

Hotel is a bit outside of town of Tacoma. It offers what you can expect in a Best Western place. Had a room on the 5th floor. I t was pretty spacious and in good shape. Good underground parking. Overall, a nice stay but nothing special.

    « Horrible »

We had to stay here for almost 2 weeks, the bed was uncomfortable to start, we never had a good night's sleep. We were also on the 6th floor which stayed hotter than it was outside...(this was august!) On the a/c unit your only option was fan! I guess if you stay during the winter you'll be fine. Most everything was marginal but what bothers me the most, was my bill on check out. Please read everything very carefully! They will overcharge..... considerably, and it will take forever to rectify! I am ok when I'm aware of a charge and the amount, but they hit my account with things I've never even heard of. I think this company is corrupt and I will never stay here again. I just wanted to give a heads up to my fellow travelers... this location is run by thieves and crooks

Best Western always has a great continental breakfast spread. It is the #1 reason my family chooses to stay at Best Western for business and pleasure. The Staff here at Tacoma Dome Best Western are very helpful and have excellent customer Service

    « great stay »

My wife and I stayed at your hotel August 17 through August 21, leaving August 22.We had arrived in Seattle August 17 and left the airport on or about 1030 p.m.with a reservation at a local Bed and Breakfast.Upon arrival we did not stay at the establishment for a variety of reasons. We then went to Holiday Inn Express, which was full and was informed the Best Western may have a room.Thankfully we were given a room and it was such a welcoming place we stayed 4 additional nights. The front desk staff couldn't do enough to help us!Every member of the staff regardless of the job title was respectful, friendly and efficient. The room was very clean, quiet and the breakfast was very good.We were visiting family and will stay there again on our next trip, without hesitation.

« Good only for Tacoma Dome activities »

It's right next to the Dome, which should be good for Dome activities. But we still had to drive to Museum of Glass and Point Defiance Park. Because it's in a city, its parking garage had to be locked overnight, and there was a notice about charging for missing towels, which generated some concern over the safety of the place. The two places in Tacoma we visited were very good, but I'd stay outside the city next time.

    4
    « Close to downtown »

Stayed here while touring downtown Tacoma. Adjacent to the Tacoma Dome and within walking distance to the train and downtown. Front desk staff was friendly and made a great suggestion for dinner. They gave us information about what not to miss when walking around. They have free breakfast that includes the standard breakfast fare-eggs, breakfast meat, cereal, waffles, potatoes, oatmeal, whole fruit, muffins and bagels. Room was comfortable, well kept and tidy.

    « Great Value »

We stayed her between 28th and 31st July for an event locally. The hotel is well placed for local event and transportation networks. The place is very clean and the staff very helpful. The room were a great size with all that you could need. The beds wee comfy . the bathroom provided the small touches other places may not.

    « Great hotel »

Awesome hotel for the price. Great staff, friendly and professional. The room was quite comfortable, with lots of amenities. The complimentary breakfast was superior in every way. The parking garage is spacious and clean. The decor is peaceful and welcoming.

« Convenient location, decent hotel »

We stayed here after a day in Seattle when all the hotels in Seattle were booked. It's right off the highway, right near the dome. Nothing special but generally well kept and clean. The sleeper sofa in our room awas a twin so our kids ended up sleeping on the floor, which was disappointing. They have free parking in an underground parking garage.

« Will not stay again »

I usually stay a BWs. This one I will not stay at again. Check in went great and the gentleman was very nice at check in. We got to the room and there was a smoky odor, so I opened the window, which didn't have a screen to keep out bugs. The light in the entry zapped and sound like a short each time it was turned on. The light would then buzz. The thermostat didn't seem to work correctly and the room stayed fairly warm and my kids woke up sweating in the middle of the night, even though the air was on it just didn't seem to cool the room. I ended up buying a fan. The Breakfast provided was unusual for BW's. I'm used to them being fairly good. This one was scarce, there was hardly any food there and since there were several of us that arrived at once the food was wiped out. The food staff was rude when asked questions. My keys cards stopped working twice. The parking was difficult. When I went to park with my Handicap pass, there was none to be found. There were two spots taken and non had placards or plates. I reported this but was met with unconcern. It just isn't worth the money to stay here. Was very disappointed.

    2
    « Not the best. »

The check in process was great but the over all experience wasn't. The walls are too thin so people can actually hear you when you're having a normal conversation with someone. Its a best western plus but the rooms look like a motel. Not coming back.

« Needs updating with the A/C, but great breakfast »

Out of the way property in a very industrial location. Parking is difficult to say the least but I was invited to take a spot in their employee lot which I gladly accepted. The A/C is NON EXISTENT; instead what you get is a fan that is blowing air...the front desk knows all about this and expects you to accept it too. Luckily the temperature was just below 80 during the day rather than in the 90's. Not all was bad here...the highlight is their breakfast which is why the overall review isn't 1-2 stars. You can order a from scratch omelette and have sausages, potatoes, bagel, yogurt, juices, coffee, oatmeal etc..Needless to say, you don't leave hungry. The staff also were helpful and courteous. I wouldn't recommend this place but if push came to shove, I would be OK with staying here again

« Secret Hideaway in Tacoma »

This was an excellent choice. Located in an industrial area, you can walk to the Tacoma Dome next door and walk to the huge Lemay Car Museum 2 blocks away. The room was what you would expect and service very good. What made my day was the daily shuttle service. Anywhere within a 5 miles radius you can be driven. It is available every 30 mins. You have a complete complementary breakfast w omelette if you wish.Bartender makes a good margarita! There are two restaurants on the same block for variety. Also the Tacoma Mall is nearby if you need something. I recommend. I would use again. It was quiet in my room and I had microwave and mini fridge. No pool or Jacuzzi there.

    3
    « Poor parking »

Had to drive around and wait for someone to move to get a park space! The location is very good for access to the waterfront. walking distance from Alfreds Restraunt and Bar and cool local favorite. Nice view the Bay!

Clean an well maintained. Restaurant food was good but not enough of a selection. Not enough snack vending machines. Every one was very friendly. Could here trains in the morning. Bathroom was small and the toilet was very low. No safety bars.

    « Quality at a good price »

Professional and courteous Staff - very helpful, close to a number of Restraints. Morning Breakfast very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Right next to Tacoma Dome. Parking can be tight at times. Checking traffic lost of freeway construction around Tacoma dome area

« Great surprise for a good value »

Best Western hotels seem to be a good bet overall, but this one was really top notch. High marks for the staff - all outstanding. It is a very well operated location. A little disappointed in the number of options on the menu, however the food itself was fantastic! High praise! The breakfast was great too! Beds were very comfortable; the room was very clean. Only down size was the small bathroom with limited counter space. Yet everything was neat, clean, and extras provided. Smell fresh, towels/sheets were clean too. I would highly recommend this location. It was a surprise for me given I expected it to be a bit more "business" run down and tired, but it was exactly the opposite. Fresh, friendly, comfortable, and welcoming. Definitely would add it to my list of "going to come back again" locations.

    5
    « Bravo. Good job . »

Keep up the good work and excellent service. You are our destination on all trips. We have total confidence in Best Western. Any time we travel whether it be business or personal we know where we can stay with complete confidence in what we will receive for our dollar, service and comfort and food. We love Best Western and always have. We have never been disappointed.

« Would have been great, except..... »

The hotel was in a good location (about 20 miles from the airport right off of I-5). It was right behind the Tacoma Dome and an automobile museum. There was a lot of highway construction going on, but signage got us back on the highway with little problem. The food and service was very good, especially the freshly-made omelets at breakfast. The evening meal was great; we ordered something light, but there was still more than we could handle. There was plenty of comfortable seating room. The guest room would have been extremely quiet; however, the heat/air unit squeaked loudly whenever it cut on. We reported the noisy air unit and were promised it would be fixed; however, it was never fixed. After returning from a long, busy day, we disappointed to find out that the noise was still there. We were offered another room, but we were too tired to change. We were given earplugs to help. Parking was somewhat limited, but with a nearby elevator, it was easy to get to and from our car. I don't know how secure the parking deck was (under the hotel); I felt a little weary going to our car at 4:00 a.m., but I did see a security officer in the lobby.

    « great staff, service »

Used this three times on one excursion as a stop-over for train connections (just around the corner). They offer a shuttle service which is prompt and very helpful. rooms were just great, quiet and comfortable.

« Best place to stay for Dome »

The rooms are clean and comfortable. We slept great every night and had a wonderful complimentary breakfast every morning. Everything worked as it should except for the back doors of the lobby facing the Dome. Nice size TV in the room we had. The convenience factor for Tacoma Dome access is incomparable.

    4
    « Small toilets!!! »

This year while staying it appears they renovated and the toilet is like a kid size well below average height toilet. Also wish maids would honor requests. We had 5 towels they took all left 3 even though note asked for 5. All in all great hotel except for toilets. Breakfast nice and hot but biscuits sometimes are hard like leftover other times nice and fresh.

    « Vacation 2016 »

We flew to Seattle a few days before our cruise left. We decided to stay in Tacoma, as we wanted to go to Mount Rainier and that put us 30 minutes closer. It was a very nice, clean hotel. All the employees that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was better than most and the breakfast staff was amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you don't want to stay in the middle of the rat race of Seattle.

    3
« Decent accommodation near downtown Tacoma »

This is a reasonable option for a hotel in Tacoma though it definitely isn't anything special or charming. I prefer this hotel to the options in Lakewood at the same price point and while the hotel isn't glamorous, it is clean and the staff are pleasant. The rooms could stand to be updated since they still have polyester bedspreads from at least a decade ago and plastic items in the bathroom.

    4
    « Excellent Location »

It's just a 3 minute walk to the Tacoma Dome, which was my primary concern. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was great, especially the omelettes. The restaurant food was very good and all in our group enjoyed it, even though it was a limited selection. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. Just wish they had queen beds instead of double beds. We would definitely stay here again.

    3
« Good Hotel terrible Elevator »

The hotel is a very good hotel, right next door to the Tacoma Dome. We were there because we were attending a convention at the Tacoma Dome. This is the 3rd YEAR IN A ROW the same elevator was not working. We were told it was because more than 8 people were in it at one time, YEAH RIGHT!! I was told by an employee it stays broken down most of the time, but due to the expense to replace it Best Western has chosen not to replace it. I Rated the SERVICE as POOR due to the Elevator NOT the employees, our service in that aspect was very good.

    5
« Good hotel near Columbia river gorge »

We booked one with mini suite and this option gave us a lot bigger room. Free breakfast is served in restaurant next to this property, but the service in that restaurant was excellent. Everything was excellent except that internet service was somewhat slow.

    2
    « Meh »

This place is LITERALLY right behind the Tacoma Dome, so if you're trying to get a free place to park for a concert and a bed after a concert, then this is your place! However, the bed was supposed to be a queen and was more like a double. It was also the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in and the pillows felt like a bunch of packing peanuts were stuffed into a pillow case. The room was decently clean though and the hotel was quiet (but there wasn't a concert going on so that could be different at other times.) The A/C was also really awful and didn't work right so we were roasting all night, and couldn't open windows (they didn't open). The area is kinda sketchy so don't expect to walk around at night. It was also a super rip-off price wise for the tiny room and tiny bed we got- $134 for a best western! Would only stay here again in a real pinch, worth spending more and staying somewhere nicer.

    5
« Good hotel, good location »

We have stayed in Tacoma before, but this visit was spent in the BW Plus near the Tacoma Dome. The LeMay Auto Museum is just around the corner, one can walk to it easily. The hotel was clean, quiet and exceptional in the comfort zone. We stayed two nights and liked the fact we could park underground, keeping the car out of the rain. A good restaurant was within half a block, so all one needs is there.

    3
    « Upside and Downside »

On the upside. Secure parking garage, and parking area to let pets stretch their legs when no events are happen ok no at Tacoma Dome which is a stone throw from this motel. Motel was quiet as there were no events going on. Manager Curtis was very approachable to hear comments and suggestions about property that is undergoing remodel/ update. Hot breakfast buffet in motel restaurant. Full bar/ lounge with Happy Hour. Nice lobby and sitting area. Rooms had flatscreen TV. Nice staff Downside: Rooms not updated.

« Perfect if you are doing business at the Dome »

Solid Best Western - breakfast was especially good. Nothing too fancy, just comfortable room, good service, and convenient. I appreciated the fridge and the microwave. If you like casinos, there is one very close - we went to dinner there (not delicious), but had fun playing the slots.

    5
« Excellent place to stay »

We initially chose this hotel as others were booked up. We were pleasantly surprised in many ways. (1) WALKING distance from the Dome where we went for graduation ceremonies (2) Close but too close to interstate. (3) GREAT breakfast options including variety of breads, waffles ( Make your own), hot and cold cereals, eggs, biscuits/ gravy and a cook for personal omelets! (4) very helpful staff (5) FREE Parking (6) Clean and comfy rooms (7) Internet FREE and a good speed.. Negative ?? One day water was shut off from 12 -5 but we were gone for the day anyhow and did not affect us. Also " fitness center " was composed of 4 machines, one set of dumbbells and a few towels with TV.. don't look for upgraded items there! I elected to run outside which was great - neighborhood NOT BAD at all!

« Nice hotel with a good location »

We attend a college graduation at the University of Washington and needed to be back in Oregon for a high school graduation the next afternoon. We decided that the Tacoma area would be a good place to stay, rather than in Seattle. Shorter driving time and less traffic. This was a good choice as the price was good. A very good breakfast was included. We asked for a king, quite room and they gave us a room on the top floor at the end of the hall (great). They also have 2 under ground parking garages. A nice bar and lounge area. They also have a restaurant that serves dinners. Another guest had a NY steak dinner and said it was very good (looked good to me). Would stay there again the next time we are in the area.

« Great Location, Fair Price, Clean Rooms »

We went to Tacoma to attend my daughter's graduation from the University of Washington Tacoma at the Dome. This hotel was perfectly located next to the Dome, and close to everything else that is Tacoma. While it is a bit dated, it is clean, functional, quiet with plenty of free parking. We did have issues with our air conditioner, the windows would open and we had fresh, cool air. Nice breakfast, although they need more help during peak periods. One morning, they were doing their best to keep the food in the buffet but neglected to bring out plates or bowls so we could get the food from the buffet! I brought it to their attention, but they said they would get to it as soon as possible. Hello? Plates are quite fundamental when it comes to eating I would say. Where was the supervisor to advise them? It was a bit pricey, but it was a busy weekend and it was still less expensive then anything else downtown. I would go back.

    « Not impressed »

Just stayed here last night. Had a really poor experience and feel this hotel is only capturing its rate due to its proximity to the Tacoma Dome. Prepare for a pretty lengthy list of issues. I booked a room on Priceline and paid a total of $156 for the room. This room was no better than the $59 motel 6 option I could've booked. The entire hotel is very outdated and extremely dirty in areas. The room I was originally placed in stank so bad of cigarettes. As a non smoking floor it was probably the most overwhelming smell of cigarettes I've experienced in a long time. They did move me rooms after calling to the front desk. The second room did not have that smell but it did have some cleanliness issues. I would say this housekeeping staff is sub-par based off two rooms both with sanitary and cleanliness concerns. The water pressure and temperature was terrible. The pressure you could barely rinse the shampoo out of your hair. The wall outlet in the bathroom wouldn't even hold a plug in them because they are so worn out. I had to make shift tape my flat iron cord into the wall so I could get ready for a work obligation. The beds were so uncomfortable and the linens were stained. I'm so confused how this hotel is considered 3 stars and how it has good reviews on trip advisor. I highly regret booking this room and staying at this hotel. Ps. In my opinion, it is extremely in poor taste to have four separate tip jars throughout the breakfast area especially if the place is filthy and not stocked.

    3
    « Nice enough »

The rooms are a little dated and the location is a little industrial but the staff are very helpful. The breakfast has a good range and is value for money as an inclusion in the room rates. There is a limited amount of undercover free parking but there is plenty of overflow open parking.

    5
« Great location in Tacoma! »

The Tacoma Best Western is located right behind the Tacoma Dome in the "City Center" district which has some nice restaurants and is only 1 mile from the business district. The hotel was clean and modern and the parking was free - which was a real plus. We did not use this hotel for a conference, but it is one I would consider and it appears they have conference facilities.

    5
« great stay with great staff »

All of the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the grounds were well kept and the overall hotel experience was great. They shuttled us wherever we wanted to go with no question and were always smiling and cheerful. The desk clerks were always helpful and accommodating. would definitely recommend staying here for a stress free experience.

    4
« Good Value for the Money »

The rooms are very good. The bed was comfortable. The buffet breakfast in the morning is excellent. The location of the hotel makes it convenient to access anywhere in the Tacoma area. Good value for the money.

« On our way to Seattle »

We were going to Seattle on Memorial weekend and couldn't find a hotel in Seattle, because they were all booked up,so we booked in Tacoma. The hotel we booked online was $101.93 with tax and fees. Great price! The hotel was Clean and had great security. Free parking too. The room had 2 double beds. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. They gave us a voucher for free breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend stay at this hotel.

    « Surprising customer service »

This place has always exceeded my expectations but this time they blew my mind. It was armed forces day and we were staying the weekend on duty and I found this on my bed. I have never experienced thoughtfulness like this. It made my day. Thank you for making me feel at home, I'll recommend to anyone - from a grateful soldier.

« Nice location in Tacoma. »

We have stayed here twice, now. I planned a train trip, and I dind't want to rent cars....wanting to rely on public transportation the whole trip. We came into the Amtrak station at Tacoma, and this hotel was a nice, do-able walk from the station up a residental street (up a moderate hill). It is RIGHT behind the Tacoma dome. It's a nice place, and I have gotten great deals both time we have stayed. They have a nice breakfast buffet. When we left, we just went back down the hill to a convenient bus stop, and hopped a bus that took us up to Seattle. Trust me, this was a great, economic decision, considering the prices on hotels in Seattle proper!

    « Business trip »

Always a pleasure to stay at the Best Western Tacoma Dome, even if it is for business and not just leisure. The staff is welcoming and professional. The hotel is top notch and the lounge is always relaxing.

    3
« In parking lot of Tacoma Dome »

Nice being so close to the Tacoma Dome . I attended an event in the Tacoma Dome and didn't have to pay for parking because I was able to walk to dome. The room has a refrigerator and microwave. The restaurant was very slow and they need to hire more people for events.

    5
« I always enjoy staying here... Highly recommended! »

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last ten years and I always enjoy my stay. Most recently, we were there for three days. The staff was very helpful! The breakfast is much better than most! It is convenient. We park the car in the underground garage and take the Link (free!) or the bus - both are just a block or two away. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is clean and safe. Highly Recommended!

    « Great staff »

Checked into the Tacoma dome best western and it had the nicest staff of any hotel I've ever checked into. Jordan went above and beyond to make sure I had a good stay. I hope you're as lucky to have Jordan at the front desk when you check-in. Definitely would come bavk

    3
« Nothing 'Plus' about this BW »

I do not believe this property warrants the Best Western 'Plus' designation. It is old, deteriorating, and very dated in décor. Our floor was designated non-smoking, but the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke - don't know if it was from a 'cheater' or because it's nearly impossible to get the smell out once it settles in. The room was spacious enough and clean enough and the made-to-order breakfast omelet was good. Immediately adjacent to the Tacoma Dome, if that is what you're here for. Now for the negatives: stained and patched carpet. Sofa sleeper was stained along the top edge of the seat back - looked like perhaps with scalp oils - gross. Bathroom cannot accommodate more than one person at a time as it is quite small. The toilet sits abnormally low at 12" seat height - awkward for anyone over, say, 4'6" tall. Light switches mounted low as well. This cannot have been to accommodate a wheelchair user as there is no way to get a wheelchair in that bathroom. Worst of all, the electrical outlet in the bathroom was so worn out, the hairdryer plug would not stay in the outlet but kept falling out. This was quite obvious, was not a new problem, and should have been taken care of LONG ago. No other outlet in the bedroom area except behind furniture and on the desk lamp base. Tried to plug cell phone into the outlet on the lamp base, but it did not put out enough juice to charge the phone. So no way to dry hair or charge the phone. Told front desk about it and she apologized but made no accommodation for it whatsoever. Really disappointing that they would simply let this go, with the attitude of "too bad" for the traveler. We paid $125/night - I would say it's about a $65/night hotel. Nothing 'Plus" about this property!

« Exceptional service and top notch catering! »

We were here for a work sponsored event held in their Seahawk Ballroom. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was well kept and beautiful. Curtis, the manager helping us, was out of this world. He was always available and went above and beyond again and again. The catering was also delicious. Would stay again today!

« Nice place, but eat somewhere else. »

The room was a bit small, but clean and everything worked. The restaurant was terrible. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food after ordering, and there were maybe five or six couples in the restaurant. Also, their menu is extremely limited on "event nights". Maybe five items on the menu. We were staying there for a concert that night at the Tacoma Dome. Also there is no room service on "event nights."

    « Perfect location »

Perfect location for shows at the Tacoma Dome. So close. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the lounge before our show. Highly recommend the Mediterranean restaurant across the street as well!

« stay is good but eat elsewhere »

great rooms but food service and food choices on the nights we stayed. The room was clean and roomy. The front desk and housekeeping were great. The service in the restaurant was sub-optimal. I would still recommend this hotel overall and very good experience.

    5
« Best place to stay for Tacoma Dome shows »

Not only is it the closest hotel to the Tacoma Dome, but it's a great place to stay anyway. If you are going to a show at the Tacoma Dome, you aren't having to compromise quality for proximity. You may find a cheaper hotel elsewhere, but when you factor in not having pay for parking and the free hot breakfast it's a great value. You're as close to the Dome as you can get. The lobby was nice, the hotel clean. The internet actually worked with no speed or connectivity issues. My wife and I like the room cool and the air conditioning worked great. It was a central air style, not a "unit" sticking out the side. Breakfast was great. Fresh made omelettes if you like. Make your own waffles. Juice, milk, eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, fruit and more. (Yes, I love starting the day with a filling breakfast.) I didn't go into the bar, but it was packed after the concert and looked like a great place to relax. My only gripe was the lack of power outlets. If you have medical equipment (such as a CPAP) or want to plug in your phones to charge you have to hunt for plugs. I needed an extension cord (which the hotel brought up quickly) to help me plug in my CPAP. I point this out because a lot of older hotels have been installing power "stations" on desks and nightstands that have additional plugs on them as well as USB charging ports. It's the little things like that which help. Overall if I come back for a Tacoma Dome show again, I won't even look for another place to stay than here.

    « This place I could stay 365 days a Year! »

Upon arriving we were greeted at the front desk and reconized as diamond members right away. The desk clerk was very helpful and kind. Our room was on the top floor 6th and it was a suite. And let me tell you OH WHAT A ROOM. Not only a whirlpool spa but a sauna as well, YES in the room! My husband was very pleased with that. The room was pure luxury. The bed was very comfortable the pillows just right. The hotel is very well kept, I seen housekeeping cleaning all the time making sure that it was sparking clean every where. Breakfast had everything you could want even fresh made in front of you omelets. And having to go to and event at the Tacoma dome, could'nt have been better we walked and saved the parking fee, it's just around the corner from here. Our stay was perfect thank you Best Western Tacoma for all you do! As my title said I would stay here 365 days a year....

Upon arriving we where greeted by a very helpful and front desk lady. She reconized us as diamond members. The room we recieved was so very nice. it was a suite and had not only a whirlpool tub but also a sauna my husband was very pleased. The bed was excellent, pillows just right. Overall I could have stayed here 365 days! Yes it was that nice. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and well kept. When looking around I seen maids cleaning all the time making sure the glass in the elevators was clean as they are solid glass. The room was behond clean! WOW even my pet peave of the corner areas was clean! And the view from the sixth floor was awesome. Will I stay here again you bet! And events at the Tacoma dome wow you can walk to and avoid the parking fees. It's right around the corner...Love this place

« Good value, if unexciting »

Clean rooms, good breakfast, free wifi. Location is not much to look at being in a rather industrial part of town. But if you just need a place to put your head down after a day out in Tacoma/Seattle, it's a good value.

« Good Location, adequate hotel »

This hotel is nothing to get excited about, but it's a good place. There's nothing wrong with it, and the rooms are clean, but if you're looking for a fancy night away, this isn't it. If you're looking for a place to sleep, close to downtown, with good value and free breakfast, this is a good place. Excellent staff.

« Great Front Desk Service! »

Nice hotel. Quiet & clean. Parking is limited, but we were able to part underneath. Fairly close to the Convention Center, drove each day as the hotel shuttle was very busy. Good breakfast was included.

« You Must Avoid This Hotel. »

I've never written a negative review, but this will be my first. Longstory short, I moved to Tacoma because of the military and was staying at this hotel while I found a place to stay. While staying there my moving van was burglarized in their parking lot and everything of value was taken. I lost over $8000. The hotel itself is located in a crime ridden area and there have been countless incidents on the hotel grounds. How this event earns them one star: The hotel staff, mainly the managers, were both incompetent and uncaring. I was burglarized at 7am, they have no security after 6am, the staff noticed something was wrong with my truck and did not inform me. The criminal spent 30 minutes unloading my goods and there was no security systems in place. Four hours later I would realize my moving van was burglarized and notified the police. The hotel manager (Victoria) had footage of the deed taking place yet did not know how to work their camera. The quality of the video was so bad you couldn't make out the face or the license plate of the criminal. Worse of all, the manager TJ took his sweet time to see me and the other manager was condescending and rude. The video evidence would not be handed over to either the police or myself. Evidence that could aid in finding the criminal. Instead, they kept avoiding me, making excuses. Managers were never available to me, no one would allow me to contact them and finally it took threatening a lawsuit for the video evidence to be given up. An entire week and a half since the incident. I was told by their own staff who I talked to in the halls that the managers were rude, incompetent and unwilling to help. They said break-ins were a frequent occurrence and the hotel leadership would just sweep it under the rug to cover their negligence. Moreover, it took dealing with a condescending manager, Victoria to get comped my stay. Seperate incident: Homeless women walked in the same day of my burglary and sat at the breakfast tables and ate food with her bare hands as the managing staff watched. In summation: I cannot stress this enough, do not stay here. -It's in a horrible area -Incompetent/Negligent managers The way Victoria addressed myself and my fiance in regards to the situation was infuriating beyond all comprehension. Thankfully I have self restraint. Seperate note: If you are military and PCSING here, avoid this area at all cost.

« Next to the Dome, and Lamays and Brown and Haileys »

This is a very easy to reach Best Western. Being right next to the Tacoma Dome, you never will get lost finding it. Also with LaMay's Automotive Museum also within walking distance it makes this a great and quiet place to stay. Also, Brown and Hailey's is 2 blocks down the road. The Museum district is a few blocks down the road and the Transit Center (rail etc) is a few blocks away. Made to order Omelets was a great treat too. Location, quiet and good location.

This hotel is clean and SUPER convenient to Tacoma Dome, so if you're there for an event this is the best place to stay. And parking is FREE! We were there for the state bball and wrestling tournaments so we didn't venture to anything else other than the Mediterranean restaurant a block away and a firehouse building which housed several other shops and restaurants. However it was going through renovations at the time not sure when they anticipated its completion. Anyway if you're going to the Dome stay here it's worth the convenience.

« Had a great stay here, pet friendly! »

We stayed one night here. We needed a pet friendly hotel. The Best Western Plus was just what we needed. The rates are very reasonable. When we checked in the receptionists were very friendly, professional and we even got a gift bad for our two little dogs! They even asked us to bring our doggies by for them to see. Very nice to encounter a hotel that truly caters to pets. The pets reside on the second floor. The room was very comfortable and clean. This room with a refrigerator was an extra bonus to us. What we liked especially was an enclosed parking lot underneath the hotel. It seemed very secure and safe. This hotel is adjacent to the Tacoma Dome where various sporting events take place. You can walk directly over to this venue without needing to drive your car. Very convenient. The free breakfast had more hot food than some other motels/hotels we have encountered, also. This Best Western Tacoma Dome Hotel is just a few miles from the waterfront and Tacoma's old town shops and restaurants. We visited in February which made for light traffic in town and easy parking. Recommend off season tourism if possible to enjoy cheaper accommodations and no crowds. Happy Trails!

This Hotel offered everything to make my trip successful, th location, the facilities and the staff were all excellent and set the tone for my visit. It has many restaurants ( some with in walking distance) near by and the staff will suggest and give directions to them. The room was clean, easy to get to and the bed was very comfortable. House keeping was on top of things and the room was fresh and clean. I'll be back. GR

    « Highly recommend »

The location was convenient for the activity that we attended. The room cost was comfortably affordable. The amenities that were included were excellent. Transit transportation was located within 1-2 blocks. Ammar's Mediterranean Grill is a wonderful fusion restaurant across the street.

« Positive experience, would certainly come back! »

I was in town for a downtown trade show and ended up at the Best Western Plus as the downtown hotels were sold out. It ended up being easier than I anticipated. I parked my car at the hotel, and then took the Link train to the convention center, never using my car again until I departed. I got into town around 1pm and my room was already for the evening. I dropped off my bags, and hopped on the train and was at the convention center in no time flat. The staff was quite friendly and prompt. I came back after dinner with a craving for some chocolate and the front desk woman promptly had some Peppermint Patties for me - yum. The lobby and breakfast area is clean and well kept. I enjoyed the breakfast, and despite the hotel being quite busy, the breakfast was well stocked with plenty of places to sit and eat. They even had a fresh omelet bar. My room was comfortable as was my bed. Nice flat screen television, the internet worked well and I got some work done as well. Went for a morning jog and created a nice loop I enjoyed, the water is pretty in the morning light. Then, came back to the sauna, I wish more hotels had sauna's as I love them. It was a pleasant stay and I would stay again in a heartbeat, although I like being closer to the convention center.

« Nice for a concert but that is about it »

This is our 6th time staying at this hotel and the only good thing was we could crawl back fro a concert at the dome ad not have to worry about driving. That is the only good thing about this hotel. The staff are crap and very rude. They never have our oom ready when we arrive. They do just enough to get by!

    3
    « Okay »

We made a reservation for 4 however the room was only set up for two occupants. The sofa bed is a joke - you really can't fit 2 adults and 2 children in the room that clearly stated occupancy of 4. The hot water in our room did not work at all during the entire length of our stay.

    5
« Perfect place to stay »

Always love staying here the staff is wonderful, The front desk staff is always nice and give you a warm welcome. the breakfast is such a nice variety and always warm/hot and hits the spot. the wait staff is always friendly and ask if you need help also keeps up on the food when it is depleted. The lounge this time was much better service than the last two visits so we were pleased with everything this trip. Thank you!

    « Great location »

There is a reason this is called the Tacoma dome hotel, it is extremely close to the Dome .After concerts and events the traffic is horrible and if you can book this hotel you should or you will be stuck in traffic for hours, waiting for taxies and shuttles is a mess after a event. I would suggest you try super hard to get a hotel within walking distance for any concert you may be attending at the Tacoma Dome! This Hotel was clean had great staff. The lobby was full of people waiting around for their rides after the show. The restaurant was good . This is a nice place no reason not to stay!

    5
    « A nice stop. »

A very beautiful hotel. One elevator was being worked on so gifts were left in each room as a token of their appreciation for putting up with the inconvenience. Very thoughtful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Was nice to have a restaurant to stay in the hotel so we didn't have to drive anymore. Food was very good and service was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Although we didn't see the option of omelets the rest was delicious and a great start to our day.

    « Great location »

We like to stay here when going to concerts at the Tacoma Dome. Staff is friendly and helpful. The amenities are great. The rooms are compact, but clean, and the beds are comfortable. Free wifi is nice and only had problems connecting in the morning. Free parking in the garage is also nice. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend this hotel.

    5
    « Excellent service »

Very clean hotel that was located fairly near to where I needed to be. The staff stood out as very cheery and helpful. During my stay, one of the elevators was out of service. In my room there was a "treat bag" with a note apologizing for the inconvenience that contained some candy, popcorn, and bottled waters. A nice touch for a really minor inconvenience that stuck in my mind.

    « Needed a hotel quickly! »

I needed a hotel room quickly as I was in an accident on the freeway and couldn't drive home that evening. Very clean, decent beds and pillows and loved that there was a microwave and fridge in the room and breakfast was included. The only pitfalls were they had designated underground parking, but it wasn't secured. It looked like at one time they had keycard gated access, but no longer. I ordered a cheeseburger and the cheese was put on the bun at the last minute. Nothing like cold cheese and a warm burger. The onion rings were awesome tho! All in all, I would definitely stay here again. It's about 15-20 minutes south of the airport but because so it is better priced.

    5
    « Excellent property »

Everything is top notch at this property. The area is a little depressed feeling but that is not the property's fault. All staff was helpful and friendly. Internet needs some work. Food was good for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again to visit family in the area and stay for business if needed.

    « Great room »

I have stayed at this motel several times and I've never had a complaint. The staff are always pleasant and do there best to accomadate my needs. I've found that the breakfast is above average for motel breakfasts. I do believe it would be better if they refrigerated the yogurt instead of just being on ice. I am a diamond rated Best Western member and stay in motels three nights per week. Thi s is one of my favorites to stay.

    5
    « Amazing value »

The staff are all very courteous and professional (almost all of them asked if I needed anything). The room was clean and comfortable. The exercise room had the equipment that I prefer, and the sauna was great. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the lounge/ restaurant has great food, a good selection of alcoholic beverages, reasonable prices, and awesome service. The (free) parking garage has large spaces and is easily accessed. Next time I'm in town, I'ii certainly be back.

    « Affordable Stay »

Affordable stay, but not recommended if you have business in downtown Seattle. I like that it was in a quiet neighborhood, and the clean room.. However, it takes more than hour by bus to get to the city center. Ideal if you have your own vehicle and have no time constraints. If you avail of a taxi to get to the city center, be prepared to pay more than a hundred dollars. And be sure you know what exits to take - not all local drivers know the way to the city.

    « Hotel room »

The hotel is good. The complimentary breakfast needs to improve. We found that one of the yogurt in the breakfast has passed the expiry date. The waffle mix is below standard, we saw a lot of waste by customers to leave the cooked waffle on the table without finishing it. « Lack of Hotwater in shower and heat in Room »

This hotel doesn't meet standard for Best Western Plus. Lack of hot water in shower, not just for a short while, but for the entire night before go to sleep. The water only stay warm for a few minutes, and cold. At the time water is kind of warn, temp is not warm enough to take shower or wash hair. After turn on the heat in room for couple hours, the hotel room still cold. I feel the lobby is warmer than my room.

    « Overall a great value. »

The hotel entrance is a little hard to get to given the steep hills nearby and it being right by the entrance to the Tacoma Dome. We had our issues and were lucky enough that there was no event traffic at the time, I could imagine that only making it much worse trying to get in. Very clean and large lobby. Greeted by friendly staff that chatted me up while I checked in. Free parking in the garage with an elevator close by to take you up to your room. Inner hallways were very old looking and feeling. Clean though with art work that consisted of pictures of nearby landmarks that were actually very nice. Rooms were what you would expect. Clean, plenty of pillows and enough linens. Nice HDTV, but like most places they did not have HD cable. We had a room on the South side which faced the Tacoma Dome, not very nice. Get a North side room and you will have a better view of the Tacoma skyline. Bath was really bad. There was no ventilation in there so any steam from a shower made the mirror impossible to use. The shower itself had very old handles (like 80s old, not the good vintage old) and made a high pitched noise when turned on. The shower head was very high up, which being 6'1" is usually a good thing, but there was no pressure so I felt like I was being rained on. In hotel bar was nice. We spent some time there and enjoyed the happy hour menu with decent food and beer/spirits. Free breakfast was a hot buffet and your normal faire. All in all this place gave us what we want and the price is right. I would stay here again if needed.

This Best Western serves all purposes! Very Clean and Nice. Free Breakfast! Free Internet! Nice parking...free parking! Local to businesses and restaurants and I-5. Best of all the Bar inside the hotel is awesome. Special thanks to our Bar Tender Cehak for a wonderful welcome and experience for our first time in Washington!

« Adequate. Older but adequate »

We stayed here while visiting family, primarily because we had a Livingsocial voucher. The room and lobby were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was average but highlighted by the individual omelette preparation. Parking is free under the hotel. The location is ideal for wandering Tacoma and the tourist spots.

    « Great stay »

Had a very brief, but nice stay here. Surprised it had a full serve restaurant & fitness center. Plus it takes pets. A real plus for me and my dog. Location is literally behind the Tacoma Dome if attending events there. No need to drive, just walk out the door.

« Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome »

We stayed here because I had a freebie. It was still reasonably priced. Great made to order breakfast omelettes, very comfortable bed and nice room. Short walking distance to free lightrail service into downtown running until 10pm. A bit difficult to get back to the hotel driving on an event night for the Tacoma Dome, but overall I would recommend this place for its easy access to Tacoma. Stay here and go see all the museums!

« Ok room, not ok staff. »

Booked this hotel because it was very close to my job orientation. The room was small but nice. The only complaint I have about the room was the sink only had burning hot water. I could never get it to turn cold and the shower only had cold water or burning hot. No in between. Most the staff I saw were polite, except one girl at the front desk. I asked her if I could have a later check out. My work wasn't done until 3 and I had a friend with me and she didn't have a car so she was stuck at the hotel until I was done. The lady (wish I knew her name) told me I could NOT have a late check out. I told her the situation and she rudely told me I could leave at 2 but that was the latest. My friend was more then welcome to wait in the lobby for an hour. The next morning after I was at work a housekeeper came knocking on our door. My friend told her we have a late check out at 2. Not an hour later another house keeper shows up with a cart... I don't think I'll stay there again unless I really want to be right next to the Tacoma dome.

    « Visiting »

We stayed for a weekend getaway. The hotel is situated very close to the Tacoma Dome but not too easy to walk to it. We lived the parking garage, room service and free vouchers for breakfast. The room was typically smaller than other Best Westerns, especially the bathroom. It was clean and quiet. Good stay.

    4
    « Great stay »

Great stay. The room was clean. We had a 2 double beds. The bathroom was very small. It was close to the light rail that will take you to down town Tacoma. There is also the train you can catch also. The breakfast was good I do although have 2 complaints with it. The food was not hot, barely luke warm..and our last day which was a week day the gal doing the omelets only was using 1 pan. So it caused couples to wait..that was a little frustrating. And twice we had housekeeping leave behind a cleaning rag. The first day my spouse took it to her because she was in the hallway and than it happened again the next day.. at least the room was clean. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Good First Stay »

Stayed at the Best Western Tacoma Dome, great stay, all around very helpful staff, wifi was a little wonky, but everything else was great including the breakfast, freshly made omelet made my day. The group took 2 nonsmoking rooms w/ 2 queen's each, very comfortable, all around good experience.

    « Had a great stay! »

I used to travel 4 weeks of out 5 and became a spoiled Hilton and Marriott guest. I forgot how nice Best Westerns can be. Room was well appointed, huge tv, kind of a smaller bathroom but plenty of room. Only down side is the elevator service. There are two elevators servicing all 6 floors and their 2 sublevel parking structures. I would definitely stay here again!

    4
« I'd stay again. Very good for the price. »

Clean, excellent breakfast including made to order eggs or omelettes. Shower was not good because it was a hand held and it did not properly point so you had to hold it to clean body, making it difficult to shampoo hair and being cold if just standing there wet. This hotel was located fight next to the Tacoma Dome parking lot. I am not sure how this room would be if there was an event occurring at the T-Dome.

« Close to Tacoma Dome and Downtown, but not much within walking distance »

The service was fine, didn't talk to anyone after checkin. The room was ok, clean, but not fancy. The location is great if you're going to the Tacoma Dome or downtown, but not much else w/in walking distance, and the parking is horrible. They do have free wi-fi, which is a must, and free breakfast, which is always a plus. I didn't try the breakfast.

    5
    « House Hunting »

Excellent place to stay. Great service from the front desk, Waitperson, Bartender, and Housekeeper. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious with a desk, microwave, and small fridge. It had great food in the restaurant. I recommend the salmon which I must admit that for it size I was VERY surprised. It also provides a Very Good breakfast with numerous options as well as a nice lounge in which to unwind in if you so wish to do so.

    4
    « Good Stopover »

Good place for a stopover on a recent trip stateside to Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula. Not too expensive with very decent service. We were reassured there is no noise from the highway, however you need a car if you have not dining in. The location is not really romantic. Good breakfast included in the room price.

    3
« thank goodness i didnt have to pay for this... »

I was very pleased with the service when I checked in. I left my husbands name at the front desk with keys for him and our friend where staying with us. I was there for work, they where there for leasure. when they got to the hotel when I was at a show working around midnight, I got a call saying he wasn't allowed to enter the hotel and they had no information on me having additional guests. I got in trouble for not working cause I was on the phone trying to get them into the room. they almost just drove the hour back home. the bathroom had a random plastic circle glued to the floor instead of properly repairing the floor. thank good I wasn't paying for this room.

    3
    « Good value »

Located right next to the Tacoma Dome. Probably great if you're going to a concert. Otherwise, it was an industrial, rather ugly neighborhood. We found a parking spot but it seemed like the parking was limited, because the main garage was full. Ask about this is you plan to arrive late at night. The wi-fi worked, but initially I was getting error messages that said I was too far from the server when I was in my room. Ten minutes later, it worked fine for the rest of the night. The hotel looked old, but it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast had a made to order omelette station, which was a very good. Overall, a good place to sleep for a night at a good price.

« Best Western PLUS Tacoma Dome Hotel, Tacoma »

WOW, the hotel was extremely a wonderful experience. Everything was so very clean. Windows, doors, reception area, breakfast area and guest room all spic and span, no bits of paper for food could be found. I could not smell any odor from the previous guest in my room. The room seemed very sound proof as I could not hear other guests coming or going.

    5
« Perfect in every way »

While on a road trip, Tacoma was merely an overnight stop, but this hotel is one to come back to. There is lots nearby to see and do with a great hotel for the night and a complimentary hot buffet breakfast with much variety to start the day. Although easy to get to from expressways, we got caught in traffic, so timing is important.

    4
« Great Hotel for the Business Traveler »

For the business traveler that needs a bed and basic amenities, look no farther. The BW Tacoma Dome is one-stop shopping for a decent bed, food, and drinks. None of those are boutique chic; however, they're all immediately accessible and the rooms come with free wireless (which IMO shouldn't be a thing, but apparently it is). Downtown Tacoma is not right out the door and the Tacoma Dome's events may load the BW with anything from concert goers to throngs of school-aged competitors. But if you need a place to stay that fulfills the business travelers basic needs, you'll have a hard time doing any better at their price point.

    4
    « What a bargain! »

What a bargain this place is. It is clean, near everything, free underground parking (no unpacking your car in the rain), a fabulous breakfast where they even have a custom omelette station, and courteous service... all for far less than anything else around. We will make this our go to place when visiting Tacoma from now on.

    « Pleasantly Surprised! »

Exceeded our needs! The ADA room for my Mom was very nice and all that we needed. The breakfast staff was very helpful. Access to the RV show next door was very good as well. Did not use the gym but it looked very nice.

    « HER OWN CAR!!!!! »

The reason for our trip to Tacoma was to take in a concert. We were very relieved to learn that the shuttle at the hotel would take us to the theater. The desk staff told us to come down at 6:30 and we could get the shuttle. We did that and we were told the shuttle was doing a pick up and would be right there. The shuttle got tied up in traffic and did not arrive. We were beginning to worry when VICKY JULES approached us and offered to use her car to make certain that we got to our concert on time. Vicky works for you and she is one of the capable people who man the desk for check in. We were so VERY IMPRESSED that she would do that for us. You are very fortunate to have such a person in your employ. The story of how she helped us will be repeated many times and your establishment will be highly recommended. If ever we are in Tacoma again The Best Western Plus Tacoma Dome is where we will stay. Great customer service is hard to find these days but your establishment has it. Thanks for the memories.... Oh the concert was fantastic by the way.

    « Great Staff »

Hotel was clean, and comfortable. Front desk staff had our reservation and room keys ready to go as soon as we walked in the door. The 12pm check out was nice too. Location is pretty good. It is right in the parking lot behind the Tacoma Dome. The main street is about a 2 minute drive/10-15 minute walk away. It was close to bars/restaurants/museums etc. Not sure I would walk it at night, however they do offer a complimentary shuttle service between certain hours. This was great as we got a ride to a local pub down the street. They also offer a great complimentary breakfast which includes hot items such as made to order omelets, among other hot and cold breakfast items. The young male that worked the breakfast station went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. His customer service skills were beyond exceptional.

« Good Location for Touring »

We were within walking distance of public transport but chose to walk to the American Car Museum. We were within a decent walk of the History, Art and Glass museums as well. Our room was clean and well appointed.

« crummy room when you book through discount site »

A pretty nice hotel in Tacoma, nice breakfast. We booked through Hotwire and got a really crummy handicap room. No bathroom counters, tiny room, dirty bathroom tile and not nearly as nice as the standard room. Ask at check in what kind of room you're getting. We checked in late at the night, the first set of keys didn't work so by the time we finally got into the room we were too lazy to try and change rooms....wish we did.

    4
« Friendly service, clean room, good breakfast »

This place is literally right next to the Tacoma Dome. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was nice, and the free breakfast was considerably better than what you find at other hotels. We will stay here again.
