My dad was a patient for 5 days at upstate... Brooklyn was amazing to us we loved her and jashua , they made my stay amazing and went out of their way to help me in a difficult time , we will be staying again for more apts ❤️
Very clean and spacious rooms. Facilities are updated and very clean. Very economical, with convenient free parking. Friendly expeditious staff. Great stay all together. Safe location. Close to university and city center with very nice restaurants close by
This hotel is located close to the Hospital and University. The staff are all great and very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is the best.I would recommend this hotel and will plan to return.
My daughter and I arrived at the Parkview after a downpour in New York City that left us soaked through as we ran from our hotel to Penn Station ( no empty cabs, no umbrella). We dried out as much as we could in the 6 hour train ride ( Amtrak is awesome!). We got to the Parkview and were greeted warmly by the desk clerk. There was a big group of high school kids in the lobby ( school trip) which made everything feel happy and homey. Our room is spacious, clean, bright, cozy, and heavenly. I highly recommend The Parkview. A great place to lay your head on a cold winter's night!
I stayed for two nights and would highly recommend the Parkview Hotel for a relaxing experience. The staff was very friendly and acommodating. I was fortunate enough to have a very spacious room with a comfortable king size bed, a separate chair and ottoman for watching tv, and a kitchen with a microwave, dishes, and a sink.
When we got in the room smelled horrible. Had to change the room. The room we got had bulbs out in sink area.old and dusty rooms. When asked for light bulbs, we're told they will be fixed next day. Breakfast was just okay. Won't stay here again.
Stayed 12/20-12/23/19 while visiting local family members. I was swayed by the great reviews. Photos are deceiving. Nice “quaint” lobby, bar/breakfast area but rooms need SERIOUS renovation. Our room HVAC was literally a window unit, which began barking in the middle of the night and we had to turn it off. Luckily the room never got too cold. (Good insulation? Ambient heat from surrounding rooms?) Housekeeping bypassed us on our 2nd day for some reason, but thankfully we had hung up our towels and could reuse. I hate to get into an unmade bed while traveling. Really surprised at the high ratings and prestigious name; we've stayed in much better, low-end Best Westerns.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice, CLEAN hotel. Worth the stay. Very nice corner king room. Centrally located for all my appointments. Almost chose the hotel next door, so glad I didn't. I will return!
My wife and and 2 year old daughter visited Syracuse for 4 days to explore some of wife's old stomping grounds from her college days. We chose this hotel because it was one of the few hotels within walking distance to campus and had one of the best Trip Advisor ratings. that said, when we first pulled up, I thought “This place is really run down. The ratings must be outdated. Oh, and there's nowhere to park my car.” After parking on the street and running inside to check in, I found out there was, in fact, a free parking lot in the rear with a rear entrance. This turned out to be SUPER CONVENIENT. We got the king suite (corner room) to ensure we had the maximum amount of space given that we brought a pack-and-play for our daughter. The room was larger than the pictures showed, but still not big enough for her own space to sleep peacefully. Overall, the room met my expectations and but could have used some upgrades/renovations - it felt like it was last updated in the early 90s. The hotel common areas were really nice and the WiFi was also consistent and fast enough that we were able to use our WiFi baby monitor. This allowed my wife and I to take advantage of the lounge and tv areas, which were rarely occupied, to enjoy some quiet time by the fire while our daughter napped. The hotel also had a nice little selection of local beers and some snacks for purchase. The staff was super friendly and always accommodating. Unfortunately, the elevators were really slow and I'm pretty sure one of the two didn't work the whole time we were there. Now, back to the SUPER CONVENIENT parking. Even though this is one of the closest hotels to campus, you're going to want to drive to get around. The walk to campus and the local restaurants is about 7 blocks and all uphill from the hotel. Parking wasn't an issue, even on a football Saturday, so driving will be your best mode of transportation. Overall, the Parkview met my expectations and redeemed itself after some poor first impressions. We enjoyed our stay and had no bad experiences with the hotel itself. When we go back to visit Syracuse, we'll try another hotel since the proximity to campus wasn't as beneficial as we had expected.
We were quite shocked to see that breakfast was served on paper cups, paper plates and with plastic silverware. So much garbage! We can't believe, that it's not possible to use ceramic plates and cups and real silverware and to put them quickly in a large dishwasher. Definitely a sign of poor taste and shows indifference to pollution issues.
Little did we know that noon that we would be going by ambulance to Syracuse. It was very comforting to know our favorite chain had openings for all of us even though they were pretty filled. The rooms were lovely.
Needed a place close to Crouse Hospital to crash after wife's operation. This place was close, clean and reasonable as to price. The receptionist was caring. She remembered why I originally needed to book a room.
The hotel was Clean. The people at front desk were welcoming & helpful. There was a nice variety of standard breakfast food. The breakfast attendant was very helpful & kept the area really clean. The hotel location is very easy to miss as the signage is poor in front. There is free parking BUT it is open & doesn't feel safe/secure.
Nice friendly staff, good breakfast, king suite is a good size for an urban hotel (although not really a suite). Small bathroom, but very bright and clean. Comfortable bed. Classic heat/cool/air issues. Nice bar and bartender for an evening drink, but understaffed for food prep/serving. Go down the street to Phoebe's . . . excellent!
Stayed for one night to see a show at the landmark theater. Hotel was about a ten minute walk to/from there. The hotel was getting a facelift outside but it looked renovated inside. It was very clean , the beds were comfy and the bathroom spotless! We had a very good breakfast buffet included with our stay. There was a shuttle that ran until 7pm so we took that to the theater and walked back.the lounge was available for food until 9 and drinks until 10 a little early on a weekend in my opinion. However every person we came in contact with was helpful and friendly . I would definitely stay here again!
Excellent re modelled hotel in the downtown area. Breakfast is exceptional and rooms are huge with excellent amenities. Highly recommended for a visit to Syracuse. Some noise outside the room in the early hours. Could have been garbage pickup or renovations still going on .Whatever a disturbance at 5:26 am.
Our friend is from the Finger Lakes and invited us to her wedding for the weekend and one of the hotels she suggested on her wedding website was the Parkview. So we didnt look it up much before the celebration we just reserved it and that was that. I have to say it was a seamless weekend at the hotel overall, very standard hotel, very clean, and very courteous employees.
My friend and I stayed here 1 night on a Tuesday while we were in town to see a concert at War Memorial. Check in was easy and reception was warm and welcoming. I was able to park in the lot behind the building without any problem. Since it was raining pretty hard, we opted to get a bite to eat in the bar/lounge at the hotel. Normally, I would opt for one of the many restaurants in the vicinity. We were pretty happy with the food available at the bar, even though the menu is very limited. The alcohol selection was rather limited as well, but we both found something that we liked to drink. It's a short walk to the concert hall from the hotel's location, but we took a Lyft to avoid getting rained on. Very reasonable if you do so, since it's less than a mile away. Beds were very comfortable, room was very clean, and the shower had good pressure. We both had a great night's sleep. Free breakfast was a nice touch....bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal (which was great, but the craisins and nuts were rancid...please get rid of them & replace with fresh dried fruit & nuts). I will definitely stay here again when visiting Syracuse.
The hotel room was nice, the staff was friendly but we stayed on the first floor during a college family weekend and other guests nearby were very loud. Walls were very thin, we woke up several times during the night.
Room location was extremely noisy, literally right behind the front desk. We heard the elevator, the backdoor and everyone who came into the lobby all night.Could not get a decent nights sleep, it was very annoying and uncomfortable. The breakfast was just plain nasty, old pastries and very limited choices.Front Desk staff was not customer friendly at all.
The Parkview Hotel is a convenient location to Upstate Medical Colleges. Nice lobby and areas to sit and or eat meals. Breakfast had a variety of options. Hotel staff was very friendly and coffee availability was 24/7.
This hotel is amazing- classy, free parking!!!!!!!! and a great complimentary breakfast. Rooms were warm and cozy. Foyer is beautiful. I am back in 2 weeks! Another bonus is it is very well located to downtown restaurants/shops.
Through the downpour that graced my presence while in Syracuse, it was a good experience to be staying in Best Western's hotel property. The bathroom was nice and it made me feel like I was royalty. There was a classy victorian charm to the room I was staying in. So 10/10.
Great value. New rooms. awesome bed and pillows. Had a large room. Easy to get to off the highway. 1 mile from Syracuse campus. Free parking right out back. Ok/normal hotel breakfast. Our room had been renovated. New everything. loved it
We went to Syracuse to attend a game at the Carrier Dome, about a mile away. The walk was pleasant and we felt very safe. We also explored quite a bit of downtown, a half mile in the other direction. The location is very convenient and the rooms are nice for a mid priced hotel in the northeast. Overall good service and a convenient location.
Stayed here in August when we dropped off our daughter for her Freshman year. The hotel has some charm but overall seems to lack the level of service and amenities expected. Breakfast was not impressive and the bar area really didn't have much going on. OK if you're in a pinch or want to be downtown, but there are better hotels a little farther outside of town.
Parkview is a great place to stay for pleasure or business. Located near the downtown area and university, within walking distance to both. Everyone at hotel gave excellent service and made sure our trip for a college football game was great.
This hotel is in a great location, has free parking and the staff was great. This was our second time staying here and I would gladly stay again. My only complaint was that the mattress and sheets felt worn and could be replaced, but overall great stay and very clean.
Our rooms were bright and comfortable, updated with all the amenities. Staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, in particular Brettlyn at the front desk and Chris, our driver. Both went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be.
Parkview Hotel was a refreshing and positive experience. We stayed during the labor day weekend for 2 nights as we were visiting Destiny USA mall and the New York State Fair. This was close to everything. It is our third year in the area and have usually opted for a Comfort Inn closer to to the fair however Parkview was a winning choice downtown. The free parking and breakfast won me over. The building has a bit of historic charm and it is nicely renovated. The hallway carpeting, rooms and ammenities are all tastefully redone. Instead of curtains, rooms have plantation style shutters which added to the unique factor. Check-in and checkout was quick and flawless. We booked through a third party site and found the price to be cheaper compared to other hotels of the same ranking within the area. Our king room located on the 5th floor was next to the elevator but it was pretty quiet in the hotel. We didn't hear banging doors or loud footsteps. The only complaint is the outside noise coming from the highway or sirens blaring from emergency vehicles. Saturday night seemed particularly loud however I know this out of the hotel's hands. Sunday I slept peacefully and didn't notice any noise. If possible, try requesting a room that is facing away from the main streets/highway as it may be quieter. The room itself was a comfortable size, the bathroom is small, with a pedestal sink and no counter space, however there is shelving to place your toiletries and lots of racks to hang towels. I loved the vintage style of the decor and the double shower head provided a great bathing experience. The room has everything you need, flat screen tv with lots of channels, more than other places I've stayed at (not sure if this was satellite but the list went on and on!), they have one of the fastest and best WIFI connections I've ever experienced. Not kidding, I ran a Speedtest and it was clocking at around 93 Mbps. SUPER impressed. You don't even need to enter a password or sign on, it's automatic. Room has mini fridge that is actually not so mini, it was a good size with 3 shelves and a little freezer that can contain quite a bit. This came in handy when we had boxes of leftover food, everything fit well. In terms of bedding, the pillows were great, there were some thinner and thicker for you to choose and they actually retained their shape. I hate pillows that deflate or sink in so these were perfect. I read some other reviews of people complaining about the bed being too soft, or too hard- our room had a more traditional spring mattress that does not have a mushy pillow top. This was on the firm side and exactly what I needed. It's possible that some rooms have newer "cloud" mattresses which will be softer. In terms of the complimentary breakfast, this was comparable to other chains. Mix of hot and cold items, yogourts, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, bread, bagles, pastries, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage, bacon and potatoes. They also had the cutest little cartons of regular milk and chocolate milk. If you're not into dairy, they even had almond milk. The only missing item was a self serve waffle maker. Truly nothing bad to say about the hotel or staff. I would definitely recommend it and come back next time in Syracuse.
Hotel is renovated to meet the premier level of best western brand. Parking and deluxe (comparing with other bw hotels) breakfast buffet are included. Rooms are clean and beds and beddings are comfy. However, we checked in late and, at midnight, we noticed that the toilet was broken with no water in the tank after 1 flush. At 1230am, we needed to switch room, which was not properly equipped as good as the original assigned room. Staff did make efforts to resolve and accommodate. The hot breakfast includes potatos, bacon, sausages, eggs and oatmeal.
There maybe fancier hotels but the Parkview is a well maintained hotel that is close to Upstate University where my son attends. Excellent value, great location, and good breakfast. We will definitely be staying at the Parkview!
Hotel is clean. Associates are courteous, pleasant, helpful. Breakfast was good - missed pancakes or waffles. Price high for a Best Western.Maybe the location and events made it high. Room was big and clean.
The Parkview is a very nice hotel in East Syracuse, a 10 minute walk to SU and 15 minutes to the armory square restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Internet is a breeze and very fast. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Lots of parking behind the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I spent the weekend in Syracuse and stayed at the Parkview. The room was a corner suite on the top floor and had views of the park (just like the name of the hotel would suggest). The room was clean, bright, comfortable and overall a joy to stay in . As vegetarians we also appreciated the fact that Strong Hearts Cafe (a vegan/vegetarian restaurant) was right next door. Bonus!
Beautiful older building in nice part of town with ample parking. Beautifully decorated lobby, common areas and private rooms. I was given a very hard time by the front desk before when I had to adjust my reservation a week before our arrival date. Thankfully, I was able to resolve it all by calling the Best Western customer service. The "Bistro" is open from 6pm to 10pm we were told upon check-in. Since it was pouring rain outside, we decided to have dinner there. Big mistake! Food, while not expensive, was not worth the horrible service. Bring an umbrella and walk to better dining options near the hotel. Also, ask what kind of bed your room will have. I need a firm mattress and our bed was a "cloud" bed. Too soft! My husband even fell out of the bed and that was not a pretty sight.
We like to take in a show at the amplitheater and rather than drive home after a long night, stay at the Parkview. Great hotel with a friendly helpful staff. Well cared for bottom to top, you could find more modern hotels or flashy if you need it.... but we love the character of the place! Like fine wine!
Location was easy to find, near the University, 2 night stay and we were upgraded, breakfast included as well as parking. You could walk to restaurants if interested. Not far from downtown. Very clean, modern and bright. Our room was very big with a mini fridge. Bathroom was smaller but no worries.
You can tell the hotel is almost 100 years old because of the architecture of the building, but the inside is absolutely beautiful. Everything is newly renovated and modern. The hotel has a "at home" feel and the exceptional front desk staff makes you feel right at home from the moment you check in. I love that there is free parking and breakfast, and I can't believe how nice your fitness center was. I look forward to staying here again if I'm ever in the Syracuse area and being that it's located downtown, there is so much to do locally,.
Located near university (if that is on your to-do list). Location is also convenient for downtown, and destiny mail is short distance drive. Parking is free. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is reasonable Rooms are clean and spacius.
Driving through New York and needed a place to retire for the evening. Chose Parkview after reading mainly positive reviews and the fact that their description stated that the hotel was recently renovated in 2018. First don't be fooled..some areas have been renovated but it's a very old hotel and it shows. It's basically a band-aid. The location does not feel very safe or secure . We checked in after 8:30 and were traveling 11 plus hours otherwise we would have looked for an alternative hotel. Although our vehicle and belongings we left in the parking lot behind the hotel were intact in the morning. The first room we were given had black debris on and under the mattress pad that looked like evidence of bed bugs. We called front desk and were immediately moved to a room on a different floor. This room also had black debris under the mattress pad but not as much. Needless to say I slept with the lamp on all night. We didn't have breakfast which was included, so I can not comment on breakfast. We left as soon as possible in the morning. The bathroom was clean although small. Mattress was lumpy and soft.
Our over all experience was very good - rooms very clean and staff helpful!! The only slight glitch was I forgot my toothpaste and I called the front desk - We were dressing for a wedding we were attending in the area. So I called down to the front desk and they were polite but it took SO LONG to have them bring it up - I had to call again! Normally it would not have been a big deal however we were all meeting to go over to the venue for the wedding!
My daughter and I came to Syracuse to visit the college. The hotel is located less than a mile from the main campus. The front desk people were very nice. The room is quite large for such a reasonable price (under a hundred before tax). Shower pressure was great. Breakfast food was plentiful and hot. Coffee was surpringly good for hotel coffee. The nit is that the walls are a little thin. This could also be because we were on the first floor. You hear everything, including the delivery truck back in at 4am. We also heard someone elses bathroom flushing. I would go back but request one of the floors off the main floor. If you are in town for a night or two, this is money well spent.
I arrived late, and struggled by myself, a senior, trying to even get in the front door, then I could not get my bags up the short flight of steps to the elevators, Stacey, the only clerk there, told me point blank, there is no one to help you here, and that included her, an obviously uncaring , lazy woman, who would not move off her chair...I have never seen that before. for seniors, or those who need the services of a bellman, forget this place, no one there... finally, after making two trips, I got my bags into the room, but had nothing but problems with the key card, it wouldn't open the door to my room. I also was reserved for a room on the sixth floor, but instead checked into a third fl. room, with a faulty door The following morning, when I tried to get OUT of the room, I couldn't, I banged on the door, tried calling out to someone , no one there, it was a panicking situation... Didn't notice any hotel phone in the room either, so had to CHARGE my cell phone to make an SOS call to the Front Desk. ,,,, they sent a lovely repairman, BILL, who attempted to fix the door, said it was off balance, and after several attempts, they did move me to the original room I was promised on the sixth floor.....I was there only to see my very sick daughter at the hospital, so didn't care about a suite, or views, but I did care about the door being broken,,. I believe that is called unlawful detention, when you cannot get out of a room, and what if a fire had started??? scary thought. The two people that were great at that hotel were the overnight desk clerk, Jennifer, so sweet and helpful, and always upbeat, and Bill the handyman.....both gems. Also, Chris, the shuttle bus operator was great,.....
Very nice room, the building is an old medical building that was made into a lovely hotel. I used to work in the building two doors east of the hotel. I went to see doctors in the building went it was called the Medical Arts Building. They have one of the best free breakfast you will find anywhere. It is a short drive to SU or downtown and Armory Square. Nice park across just the street. Hotel is easy to find.
The Parkview has had a good deal of investment put into it recently; it shows. The lobby, restaurant, and bar are all well appointed and done well. The rooms, quite nice and spacious. We had a corner room on the fifth floor (no. 500) and its very adequate space had a king bed, flat screen TV, comfy sitting chair, desk, a breakfast nook with dishes, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink....and then an adequate bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. All in all, very nice indeed. And the staff on both the front desk and in the bar/breakfast area were very professional and attentive. Impressive. Note that the room was clean with one exception: the windows. Either during the remodel or from long ago, storm windows were added and while they certainly added the "tightness" of the room, on one side of the building in our room, the windows were filthy. Maybe a work in progress considering that the other side appeared to be clean? Just a bit unusual. Otherwise, still a fine place to stay.
Simple ..Clean ..neat . Accessible to highways . Beds are nice . Very near to Syracuse zoo. one of the Best breakfast in our entire trip . Plenty of parking . recommend .Great stay. did not find any fast food nearby . University and hospitals ..
We needed a place to stay for a long weekend visiting family. From the lobby to our room, it was full of charm. Our room was large with a wall of windows overlooking the park by day and the Syracuse skyline at night. The breakfast offered was one of the best we've had. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bartender, Brandon, also seemed to be the cook, dishwasher and breakfast attendant and did each job wonderfully. The only downside was the air conditioner in our room. It was as loud as a jet engine. We figured out that if you take it off energy saver mode at night, the room was cooled and eventually the sound becomes white noise without the constant cycling of on/off. The free parking is in a small lot behind the building. We will be using this hotel for all our future visits.
I selected this hotel after reading many positive reviews, and am happy to agree with them all! We were in town for just one night after dropping out daughter off at SU. I was not familiar with the city and so took a bit of a chance. First pleasant surprise- it was a mere 4 min drive from campus. Then on arrival, the exceptional desk clerk could not find our reservation. When I showed her my confirmation email, she realized that I had accidentally reserved the room for the prior evening! She could not have been more gracious an accommodating- assured me there was no problem and she could just move the date up one night. She didn't have to charge for the missed night and put me through the hassle of requesting a refund. When it appeared then appeared that there were no remaining king rooms ( the type we had reserved) She managed to find a “held room” which not only had a king bed, but was huge and bright with 2 walls of windows overlooking a park and the city. All around service and accommodations rank 5 stars. Oh, did I mention free parking?
Excellent service and price for a hotel in the $150 per night range. Classic, excellent customer service, clean, convenient location, breakfast, parking and internet was just right. I was traveling 10 days from NY to Toronto thru the Niagara Falls area and this hotel was one of the best during the entire traveling time.
This Hotel is ideal if you want to visit all the attractions in Co Wicklow the rooms are massive and very clean bathroom is so clean you could eat your breakfast in there, beds superb, Restaurant excellent, all refurbished you could smell the new carpet on the floors, but one thing that really annoyed me was the TV no Irish Channels only free to air satellite rubbish.... I told the lady at reception and she said no Irish channels I said isn't that strange she said it was no other comment.,,,,,
Spacious room, spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast was perfectly adequate. Central location. Friendly staff. Microwave and fridge in the room. Tea coffee and water available free in reception all day. Incredibly good value.
Clean, updated, and chic design in a historic building. Central location within walking distance to many venues. Only drawback for someone on a business trip is the WiFi is extremely slow so I was unable to use it as needed while in Syracuse, NY.
The staff were very friendly and helpful! We loved the art decor decor and blending contemporary technology with the traditional atmosphere of the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pet friendly atmosphere was a plus; the staff shared stories about their pets with us. The park across the street was perfect for our dog. We stay in Syracuse every year for our annual trip to the zoo and this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The location is close to the zoo, the historical walking path, the armory district, the mall, the Erie Canal Museum and other attractions. The hotel is 2 blocks from the local shopping district and clubs as well. I haven't stayed at a better hotel since the Sagamore on Lake George. The rooms also have a refrigerator and microwave. There is also environmentally friendly soap, shampoo and conditioner. Just a great experience!
Does not look like much from outside - older building. Rooms were clean and bathrooms remodeled. Staff was very friendly. I arrived for breakfast just as it was closing and the woman was very kind and brought me some food. She did the same for another couple that came in. Thought it was sad she had to throw the leftover eggs out instead of giving to the staff.
Accommodations were clean neat and comfortable. The staff loaned us umbrellas for our walk to the theater. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, toast and fruit. Coffee, water, and juices were available.
Thanks to Brettlyn and the entire staff at the Parkview Hotel, we felt so special and pampered during our stay, from the moment we checked in until the moment we left. The friendliness and smiling faces, politeness, while also being efficient and professional, each member of the staff was outstanding. They are all to be complimented on going above and beyound what we had expected. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Syracuse to see the ballgames. Even the bar area in the evening served a delicious chilli and had an extensive quality licquor selection. Allison (I think that was her name) suggested our selection and we were so very pleased. Kudos to the chef as well.
I have stayed before in this hotel but since last year the carpets have been changed and the hotel looks even better than before (it was already good). The rooms are big and pleasant . The bathroom also looks great.Very clean and quiet.Great breakfast and helpful staff. Best hotel I've stayed in Syracuse.
Very nice clean hotel in an older building with I love .just 1 thing they have these great very large windows in the rooms with great shutters, but they need to wash the windows outside they where very dirty, that would have made it even better to sit by the window reading.
I spent two nights in this hotel for a business trip. Pluses included no reports of bedbugs on two online bedbug registry sites, quiet halls during sleeping hours (I didn't experience any of the usual nightly annoyances such as loud voices in the hall and slamming doors), on-site parking, and a short drive to the airport. Front desk staff was courteous. I gave this hotel a rating of average because the carpeting in my room was old and stained, and the hotel coffee was dreadful. If those negatives were changed, I'd upgrade my rating to 4 stars.
Everything about the overnight was excellent. Parking was included and plenty of spaces, room was modern and clean with a nice bathroom that wasn't a cookie cutter hotel bathroom, hotel staff nice, breakfast quality, dining area clean, and location good. Highly recommend due to absolute pleasant stay. Would stay again and recommend.
Very nice stay. Great location close to SU and downtown. Clean well appointed room. Friendly staff. Parking on site. Nice view of the park. Would stay here again. Decent continental breakfast included.
I was disappointed in the look of this hotel. It's a wonderful older building in a good location that has supposedly been renovated but the lobby and the room felt old and unattractive. The bed however was comfortable, the room was clean and the bathroom is large with a good shower. But the check-in experience was less than pleasant with a young woman who did not appear to be trained to make incoming guests feel welcome. (She was on the phone with a customer, which is to be expected, but she never once made eye contact, smiled or acknowledged in any way that I had come into the lobby and was standing at the desk until she finally got off the phone. This is not the way to make guests feel welcome.) Don't expect any porters to help with luggage. Parking is in the rear (It's located on a city street so there is no drive up area to park, go inside to register and drop off luggage) and you have to walk around to the front with luggage to come into the building, so on a cold or rainy day that can be unpleasant. One of the lamps in the bedroom did not work at all and the television is DirectTV and many channels you would expect from cable were unavailable.
My husband and I attended the east coast wine exposition for a week in March. We stayed at this very nice and accommodating hotel. The warm breakfast buffet had the typical selections but always enough and held hot. The being lounge selections served us well. It is Located near several nice restaurants easily walked to even late at night
My wife and I were in Syracuse to attend a show at the War Memorial. We have had good experiences with this hotel in October of 2015 and October 2011, so it was a no brainer on where to stay. The staff was friendly, check in process was easy, and the young lady at the front desk assisted us with a suggestion of where to eat within walking distance after the show. You can tell that there has been a little remodeling done because it is now a Best Western owned property. The water in the shower was hot and our room was spacious enough for 2. Breakfast has a nice mixture of hot and cold products to eat. Most importantly it is only a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the War Memorial. My wife and i really like this hotel and do not have a problem with suggesting it to others. We already have actually. I have said it before and I will say it again, if we are ever in Syracuse for another show, we will be staying at this hotel.
I was looking for a place to stay that was close to where I needed to be during my time in Syracuse. I was surprised to find this gem within 5 minutes from my destination and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
Hot breakfast was included. Cold breakfast was also available in cozy breakfast area which doubles as the bar area in the evenings. Very easy walk to State St. or University area. Restaurants within walking distance.
Very convenient to the university. Nice, clean rooms. The staff was friendly and the room was pleasant. There was parking, but it is limited. We stayed one night and visited the university. The location is great.
Located just on the edge of downtown Syracuse, this hotel is a hidden gem. The building was built in 1926 and was originally all doctors offices. Has some great Art Deco details throughout including the elevator. Check in and check out staff were quick and efficient. My room was absolutely spotless and everything in working order. Got a great nights sleep as it was very quiet. Free breakfast in the morning was plentiful with lots of choices. They also have a bar as well as a small store for snack and drinks. The lobby has numerous chair and couch areas to relax in. I highly recommend the Parkview.
I had to stay overnight in Syracuse 7 different nights between October 2018 and February 2019. I stayed at the Parkview each time, initially because of its location, but ultimately because I liked it so much. The staff could not have been nicer, from the front desk folks to the maintenance workers. The rooms are understated, quiet and comfortable, and every inch is immaculately clean. Breakfast is included, and it's the best hotel buffet breakfast ever - real scrambled eggs with cheese (and sour cream - the chef told me!), perfectly cooked bacon, sausage, potatoes, and the usual assortment of breads, pastries, cereals, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, etc. I only had time to eat a quick supper there on one of my visits, but everything on the menu looked tempting and the chili I choose was delicious. Prices are very reasonable and you get much more than what you pay for at other similarly-priced hotels. I highly recommend the Parkview for anyone looking for a nice difference from the usual chains.
This Hotel in Syracuse was just right for us. The room was newly renovated and very comfortable. The restaurant had a limited menu but everything was very good. It was close Syracuse University were we were going for an event. The price was very good and the service was wonderful.
The renovations & upgrades to the Parkview are excellent. I felt safe, staff was very helpful, professional & friendly. It is nice to have a restaurant & bar on site. Food was very good & reasonable priced. The added feature of a parking lot for all hotel guest at no cost and directly behind the hotel was awesome. I was very pleased with my stay and would definitely stay again when visiting family.
The hotel is in an old historic building but was very modern and up to date. The lobby was decorated very elegantly for Christmas. The lobby is a very inviting place to relax. The room was excellent. The full breakfast had a great selection. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Syracuse.
The hotel was a great old style NY heritage building. Classic elevators, lobby and rooms made it a nice experience that brings back the feeling of what it must have been like back in Syracuse's booming times. The rooms and hotel were all recently renovated with new carpets paint etc so you feel like you are staying at the hotel when it was new.
The Parkview is an out of the way hotel that has great service, a comfortable atmosphere, and wonderful location. It is within a short drive to Armory Square, or uber it to the bars and restaurants. There is a very nice breakfast area, and comfortable lounge. Each time we have stayed there, we have been very happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The parkview has exceptional front desk staff too. We will be returning customers during our next visit to Syracuse.
This is a very quaint and cozy hotel environment. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very freindly and helpful. I enjoyed having breakfast available early in the am, the location was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
I was hesitant to book this hotel, but decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Located downtown, within walking distance to good restaurants, close to SU, and Upstate Medical. Checkin process was efficient and all the staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was good size, we had the double beds, 609. You can definitely see the efforts and improvements underway. This will be great when the renovations are done. We decided to eat dinner onsite. Restaurant is small, and selection limited, but the food was tasty and good ( I would have the N.Y. salad again). They also have a bar if you just want drinks. I couldn't put restaurant bill on room, but hope they fix that for the future. Breakfast was included but they could improve the set up and signage a bit. They have parking in lot behind the building, entrance is narrow from E Genesee st, better to enter from Forman Ave. Overall, I would consider this again in the future.
Built in 1926, the Parkview is an attractive old building in a great location convenient to the Upstate Medical complex and to Syracuse University. My room was a nice size and clean. However, one of lights did not work and neither did the alarm/radio. The free wifi worked fine but changed the time on my Kindle to Mountain Daylight Time. Fortunately I wasn't relying on it for an alarm. The room looked out over the eponymic park but the outside of the window was so dirty that it was hard to see much. I don't know whether my room had been renovated--the hotel is undergoing updating--but the furniture looked like 1970s-vintage dormitory grade and was in poor condition. One piece fit so poorly that it made one side of the bed difficult to access. The room was fairly quiet but its being near a major hospital meant occasional sirens. There was also some noise from nearby I-81. A hot breakfast is included in the price of the room but unfortunately was of Motel Six quality. And a snippy attendent chided me for turning off the TV--after asking whether anyone was watching it--and said that it had to stay on no matter what. Then he took away the remote. The free parking is conveniently directly behind the hotel, but the rear entrance is beyond dingy. Most concerning, however, was the fact that the fire stair was "out of order." All in all, not a bad stay, but the place needs serious attention to details. Oh, and the hotel's website is inaccessible because of expired security certificates. Details...
This hotel has been around since the 1930's. They have continuously updated it and the rooms are plenty comfy and functional. They are going to be smaller than a newer hotel and the bathrooms are “cozy.” Nonetheless, everything functioned as it should, the complimentary breakfast will leave you full, parking was free (!) and right behind the hotel. Even the bar was reasonable….what's not to like? Recommended.
Great accomidations at this BW premier hotel. Breakfast was hot and ready, rooms were clean and tidy, microwave and fridge was a bonus. GREAT location and staff was amazing. The fountain view was beautiful.
The bed and pillows are hard as a rock, the ac is noisy, and the blinds allow in a ton of light from the street at night. We booked it based on the reviews from trip advisor and they were way too generous. The area didn't feel exactly safe walking around. Book somewhere else.
Small hotel, very clean, bright. Nice size room, remodeled. Breakfast included - really appreciate that! Free parking - REALLY appreciate that. Very convenient to SU. Helpful staff. Would definitely return.
Found this hotel at the last moment - a great choice. It is an older building but nicely kept up with free parking out back. Rooms were clean and adequate. Service was great and we got a free bottle of wine at check-in. It is located a short drive from the restaurant district with many good restaurants to choose from.
