    « Atrocious Service Continued...... »

Visited Pop House for coffee with friends, some of whom were residents of the hotel. My friend bought me a coffee out to the terrace - I popped by inside for a spoon which were housed on top of the counter so I took one (I needed to stir my drink!). Next thing I know a member of staff came literally running across the restaurant demanding what was I doing taking a spoon and grabbing it off me. I explained to her that I was a customer and was sat outside and needed this to stir my drink. She was literally screaming at me but once I explained I managed to retrieve the spoon from her. No apology was offered she just turned and walked off. This is not the first time I have been treated this way at this hotel. I definatley will not be returning. The waitresses name was Camilla and I understand other guests have been on the receiving end of her vile tongue. Unacceptable. How does someone like this get a job in the customer service industry?

« Below average on many levels »

Well, I will never make that error again. This was my first time staying at Pop House the hotel connected to the ABBA museum. However this wasn't my first time staying in Stockholm ( a stunning city), previously staying at Rival, The Grand and others. Born on my experiences of other hotels and the fact that this was owned by none other than Bjorn of ABBA I had high expectations. My goodness how disappointing. The hotel clearly markets itself under the minimalism bracket ... I'm guessing that is another word for sparse, uninspiring, cheap and put just enough in the rooms. No coffee facilities, soap by the sink not in the shower, let the cheap paint retain all its knocks, scrapes and bashes. Breakfast - possibly one of the worst I have ever had ... ever. Cold watery powdered scramble egg, cold bacon with added salt!! And the most unappetising sausages. Cold meats were uninspiring and the piece of pate brought out on the Friday was the same there on Tuesday just a bit more dried up. Then there is the most shocking behaviour of one of the managers ?Camilla'. Fellow guests were verbally assaulted bringing the last remnants of their ice cream onto the terrace (despite paying Ł600+ to stay), RUDE, AGGRESSIVE and UNPROFESSIONAL! Second experience saw a friend literally have a spoon snatched out of her hand , one she had taken from a bowl of spoons on the bar top to stir her Ł4.80 coffee with. Again the shoddy customer care from The same manager shone through. So very very disappointed, annoyed and let down. I do want to commend though the exceptional service offered by reception staff, bar staff ... what has happened?? Interesting that Rival staff are the other extreme, professional, pleasing, happy and above all else interested in you the customer.

    « Buffe »

A okay lunchbuffe for 175kr, good staff. Not alot to choose from but considering the location and the price it was worth it. Definitely worth a visit to this restaurant. The hotel it self I dont know much about, since we didnt stay there

« Very RUDE woman employee - ruined our meal. »

After a wonderful visit to the museum, we went right next door for a bite - our daughter had gotten an ice cream down the road and joined us as we ate. A woman had a tray of bottles, which she dropped and my daughter got up to gather a couple of bottles to help her. This very rude woman then came to my daughter, seated beside us, and told her to "leave because we don't serve ice cream here"! We were so surprised at her poor manners, we got up and left. Once I walked out, I got annoyed and returned to tell the main fellow about what this woman did. He seemed embarrassed and apologized for her, but she was nowhere to be seen. The sandwich was okay but the service was terrible. Treating paying customers this way is shameful.

« ABBA Fan Must, Fantastic Fun Hotel, Great Breakfast and Service »

Location: The hotel shares the same building as the ABBA museum and is a must for ABBA fans. There is one standard room that is ?themed?, the Kristina room based on a musical. There are premier rooms based on ABBA themes. I stayed in the Kristina room and it was way cool!!! It's located on one of the islands, so not in downtown. But the ferry station is just behind the hotel, so very convenient. Since the ABBA museum in there, plenty of taxis. Once the museum closes, the streets are very quiet. Staff: The staff is very friendly and helpful and have a great sense of humor. They also prefer credit cards to cash (that seems to be the norm in Stockholm). Room: The themed room is very cool, like a rustic farm house, but bed was comfy, bathroom is updated and normal. The room is on the third floor and has a huge private balcony and great views of the city. NOTE: several of the standard rooms are on the ground floor, which doesn't have privacy during the day. Breakfast: For 90Euros a night, full breakfast buffet is included and WOW what a spread of organic, local cold and hot options. Love this! Wish the Best Western in the US had food like this. We had a lot of fun staying at this hotel and going to the ABBA museum. Highly recommend!

« Delightful Breakfast, Helpful Staff & Great Location »

Our experience with the PopHouse staff was great. They went out of their way to call a smaller hotel in a different city for me, so that I could explain that we'd be arriving late. They were just nice friendly people, and made our stay seem better. The breakfast was lovely, something that you could write home about as an American tourist. Lots of variety- fruit, yogurt, eggs, all kinds of cheese and meats, different kinds of bread, etc. Thinking from a European perspective, I'd imagine that you'd be satisfied. It was a nice quiet room in September. The bed was a standard Swedish mattress. I don't generally sleep well on these mattresses, so I didn't sleep great. However, that happens with most of these mattresses. The room itself was large enough that I could lay out my yoga mat. It was also quiet, and I didn't hear the people around us. They also had a luggage storage room, which we took advantage on the last day of our trip. The hotel was also right off of a public transit line, so you could easily get the to Stockholm Attractions without too much hassle. You could also even transfer to the airport, which makes it easy. The soaps in the bathroom were higher end, nice smelling soaps. However, the bathroom tub was really high. You had to be careful getting in and out of the tub. If stepping over a high tub is a concern for you, I'd definitely rule out this hotel. However, overall it was a great stay, and I'd happily stay here again.

    « Pop House Restaurant »

Had lunch for 4 at the hotel restaurant which has a nice ambience and decor. The menu was varied enough and reasonably priced but service was average only. The vegetarian options were two dishes having either mushrooms or goats cheese neither of which were suitable for the one vegetarian among us and no other suggestion was made, other than a serving of 'frites'. The Caesar salads for two of us came with pieces of chicken with the skin still on and a little like eating leather. It could be that since we were a little late for lunch we got the end of the available ingredients but not really an excuse for serving up poorly prepared food. As the schoolmaster would have said "Could do better".

    « Bit of a super trooper »

A bit out of the way for the traveller who likes nightlife by foot, but only 5 mins by cab into town. Walk to Skansen and ferry terminal and just the press of a button in the lift to the ABBA museum, the Jewell in the pop house Hotel crown. Ooh, have I over done it?

    « ABBA fans ? MUST visit! »

This was my second trip to Stockholm and I decided to stay in the hotel above the ABBA museum? I cannot fault it. The location is not very central, but suited me perfectly for the purpose of my visit. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My room was beautiful and clean and looked very fresh. My bed was comfortable and the large sliding door and balcony were a nice-to-have. The bathroom was fabulous ? with a deep fill bath (which was nice to take advantage of after a long journey). The décor along the hallways and in the restaurant is also very cool and the added bonus of being so close to the ABBA museum (and getting discount into the museum) is a plus. The whole place was very clean and well looked after. I would definitely stay here again.

« A wonderful base to explore Stockholm »

While the Pop House is about a 15-minute cab ride from Central Station, its location on beautiful Djurgarden is central to many top attractions, including the Vasa Museum, Skansen (the world's oldest and largest outdoor museum), Cirkus perfromance venue, Gronda Lund amusement park and the Nordic Museum. Mamma Mia! The Party is just around the corner, and Abba: The Museum is located on the bottom two floors of the hotel. (Hotel guests get discounted admission to the museum; ask at the front desk.) The ferry to Gamla Stan and the historic Stockholm city centre is just a block away. Unfortunately the ferry doesn't run late into the evening but a tram line runs right past the front door. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with a modest funky vibe. The corridors are lined with portraits of Abba and other Swedish music icons. The restaurant is very good but offers small tapas-like courses. We arrived shortly before closing, as did another group, but they happily seated us and kept the food and wine coming. If you are looking for more substantial fare there are a few charming local dining places within easy walking distance of the hotel. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Michael in particular went the extra mile for us when we ran into an issue in our room and was charming and engaging to talk to. (He was amused when I said our group had lunched at the downtown Hotel Rival. Bjorn Ulvaeus is an owner of the Pop House; Abba bandmate Benny Andersson is owner of the Rival, so they do enjoy a friendly rivalry.) I happily recommend the Pop House; it's a comfortable base for exploring Stockholm's many attractions.

« Nice place to stay in Stockholm »

A very nice place to stay that is close to the Vasa Museum, within an easy walking distance. It was also quite easy to get over to Gamla Stan via the tour boats. The room was large and pleasant. The bed was comfortable. And if you happen to be a fan of Abba (unlike me), the hotel is part of the Abba Museum.

« 2 nights at thte Pop House »

We have been 2 nights at the Pop House hotel. Our room was nice, very good housekeeping ( change of towels ever y day even if it is not necessary but no the possibility to choose e.g. "leave the towels on the floor to get new" as proceed in other hotels). Central located easy to travel by boat, bus, tramp or just walk. We knew already the museum but don't miss to visit (ask at the reception how to get in, opening hours...) The team was really nice, helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was great, enough to choose (bread, toast, cereals, eggs, fruit salad, cheese, juices, coffee, tea) As the hotel has not so many rooms it is not so busy at the buffet. The only little minus: the bar close very early. The first evening (Sunday) our friends arrived at 9:00 pm and we wanted to have a drink before sleep but the bar was closed. The girl at the front desk had a key for the fridge and organized a glass of wine. Second evening after the concert at Circus the bar was also closed, this time the girl at the front desk had no key but she checked if the bar at the Scandic Hasselbacken was still open (until 11.00 pm). We travel at least 2/ year to Stockholm and we will probably return to enjoy this location.

    « A calm and a vit unusual hotel »

Big rooms with huge windows and a narrow balcony. Good WiFi and a big flatscreen tv. The tram passes just a few steps away and you can also take the ferry to city. You're close to Gröna Lund and Skansen and in the same house as ABBA museum. Djurgĺrden is green and calm and so beautiful in the summer.

    « Cute boutique hotel »

As a huge Abba's fan, there would be no other place to stay while in Stockholm. Rooms are clear, clean, with all details well taken care of. Breakfast items are excellent. Super friendly and helpfull staff, specially the guy who checked me in - I'm sorry I forgot to ask his name, as he deserved a special mention in this review. His help made my short stay much better.

    « Quiet and trendy »

I stayed here 5 nights and had a comfortable stay. The room was spacious, vlean, very quiet and the bed very comfortable with nice bed linen :). Breakfast buffet was good wit a nice variety. At this time of year the whole area is very quiet and there are no restaurants open after 8-9 pm. The hotel restaurants can give you some room service but it is not a big choice and it is a microwave meal. The gym was closed during my visit , I did not make any further enquiries so I don't know the reason for it. Most staff were very friendly and helpful. I will most likely come back to enjoy a good nights slow in a beautiful surrounding. Good communications to town the trams stops just outside the entrance and it is a quick ride with the tram to the city centre.

« Nice little boutique hotel »

We stayed here five nights. It has a really good breakfast - nice variety. The location was lovely, close to some great sights to see - the Vasa Museum, Skansen, Nordiska Musee and of course the incredible Abba Museum. The #7 tram runs frequently and gets you to the main part of town quickly. Our only complaint was the noise from the bar on the weekend. Our room overlooked it and the glass ceiling isn't the best soundproofing, but the music stopped around 11 pm. The staff was friendly and helpful.

    « Surprisingly good »

For a hotel on top of the ABBA museum, the POP House is a really good hotel. Location wise, it's great. Djurgarden is a lovely island and the walking/running track around the outside is incredible (I once bumped into a shepherd with a flock of 50 sheep on this trail) and it also allows a quick walk into the city for restaurants etc. The room is comfortable. Decent bed, the easy-to-use kind of safe, wifi is quick and reliable. The desk was simple and allowed work to be done - the room is no frills and yet beautifully simple in that great Swedish way. It doesn't feel cheap. The door swab worked 100% of the time. They let me check out one hour later than normal. The front desk guy was very cool - friendly and helpful in booking taxis. Breakfast was delicious - all good quality stuff. Great for exploring Djurgarden and yet close to the city. Nice photos of ABBA in the hallways. I liked this place and it was good value (if booked well in advance).

    « what a difference breakfast makes!! »

Very different from my former Stockholm favourite resting-place, the chic, hyper modern Motel L, no-one told me this small gem called the Pop House also housed the Abba Museum in Sweden's magnificent capital city - and there were some truly interesting folks coming and going....but with a very beautiful 20minute park and waterfront walk (or 10min light-rail) to central station, you cannot complain for location. What i didn't expect however was one of the best hotel breakfasts in Europe - beginning with a wonderful range of Swedish breads and traditional espresso coffee, and lavishly building appetite momentum with full eggs, bacon, sausage and a wide range of fruit and multiple garnishings...all built in to the very reasonable cost - and exceptional service staff in all hotel dimensions - you almost don't notice the soundtrack! Stockholm is a city of great elegance, joie de vivre and great design talent - now add starting your day with a smile!

« Cozy and modern but also very loud »

We stayed in Pop House Hotel for two nights in end of july. We liked the room and especially the breakfast area/ restaurant very much but the noise from the street and restaurant near by was almost unbearable. We had a room on second floor facing the street and as much as I liked the look of those huge double glass doors, they let the noise in too easily. Luckily the restaurant near by closes by 11pm so you don't have to listen to the music all night long. Design wise this hotel is nice to look at, just my style! We also loved the huge tub! We didn't eat at the restaurant but hotel breakfast was nice. Altough they ran out of croissants on saturday morning...

    « Music heaven »

Honestly one of the nicest places to relax in an area full of activities. During summer they serve a kind of a tapas menu which all four of us enjoyed and it is ABBA you listen to most of the time cause it is situated in the same building as the impressive museum. Nice stock of drinks available in the bar as well

« Pop house hotel excellent »

Very kind and good service. We had a 3 night reservation. We got 2 rooms next to eachother. One room was not good. Missing night stands and missing of curtains. We told it, and they should solve it. As we came back, they apoligized and we got another room. More luxer, for same price. It was great! Clean! Super beds. We loved the stay and even are considering to comeback next year! One word Superb!

« Bad hotel with unhelpful staff »

We checked in at 4 pm and checked out again two hours later, because the room we got was not what we had booked. We explicitly asked for a twin bed room, sent an email beforehand to make sure the hotel could offer this (to which no one ever replied), yet when we arrived we got a room with one bed, which we only saw after we paid. No solution was offered: no other room, no upgrade, no compensation. You just have to be happy with a room that is not what you booked. The staff is most unhelpful. Location is great but that's about it. Fortunately we found a room in the nice hotel across the street and could leave again. We regret having thrown away our money for a useless room at Pop House Hotel for sure. All you get as an answer is 'yes you booked a room with 2 beds but we cannot guarantee this, you have to read the small letters' This is not correct at all.

« Nice Hotel in the perfect location »

Perfect hotel for family activities at Djurgĺrden. Gröna Lund just a few steps away. The rooms are big and modern. The breakfast was ok. Living inside the Abba museum also added something to the experience :-)

« Best hotel in Stockholm I've stayed in during 20 years »

Great place, great vibe and lovely green location. Lots going on locally if you want to join in. Walking distance to ferry, theme park, zoo etc. Tram no 7 right outside. Wonderful restaurant, superb staff - very comfy, clean and home away from home. Same location as ABBA museum which was a nice surprise, but not overwhelming if not your cup of tea. Would happily have stayed longer if they had room, but sadly they didn't so I moved to a dissappointing hotel elsewhere.

    5
« Great Lunch! Great Service! Great Value! »

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we had a great lunch in the restaurant. We were a large group (over 10) and the service was pretty quick, the food was tasty, and plentiful, and the bill was reasonable...So we would recommend it! It was actually chosen for us by a Swede who lives in Stockholm, and he was right!

« Incomparable Service, Comfort, Convenience, Fun and Whimsy »

I booked my last night's stay in Stockholm at the Pop House Hotel because I was attending Mamma Mia The Party with friends, which is right next door inside the Grona Lund amusement park. Having a hotel within easy walking distance of Mamma Mia The Party was the ultimate in convenience, so the booking was never a question. When I arrived at the Pop House, just two hours before Mamma Mia The Party was to begin, the ABBA Museum was packed. The entrance to the hotel wasn't where I expected it to be because there have been some layout changes since I first visited the property two years ago. But I quickly found my way through the crowds to the registration desk and checked in. However, when I went to my room, it had not been cleaned. Apparently it was missed on the hotel's cleaning checklist. I went down to the front desk and Ulf profusely apologized instantaneously and was sincerely embarrassed by the incident. Without a word on my part, he upgraded my booking and gave me the "Mamma Mia" Suite. I did not ask for a room upgrade. I just wanted to get a clean room, take a shower, and join my friends for a great night out. Ulf's initiative and customer service are to be commended. Switching my room took all of 30 seconds. Service like this and a room upgrade in the United States would be unheard of. So, I went up to my room and my jaw dropped. The Mamma Mia suite is a room decorated to match the décor/theme of the musical and movie Mamma Mia. Unlike all the other rooms, the door to the room was that rich bright blue characteristic of the hotel in the musical and the movie. The room had hundreds of little accents to complete the theme. Colored lights, a canopy of leaves, painted sky blue ceiling.... I have never stayed in a hotel room like this before. It was absolutely magical. The next day I met the hotel manager Mattias Axengard, and I told him what had happened and how pleased I was with Ulf's immediate action to make the experience right for me, and how amazing I found the room. Mattias gave me his card and told me to call him directly before my next trip to Stockholm to book a stay at the Pop House. He promised to take care of me in the future as well. The breakfast was also outstanding, with exceptional fresh-baked breads definitely being highlights. There is only one other hotel where I have been made to feel so welcome, and that is Benny Andersson's Hotel Rival, also in Stockholm. ABBA have always been about the most glorious music, painstakingly crafted and produced with every detail taken care of. It's not surprising that both these hotels with their own ABBA connections, also are of the highest quality and service. But this time, The Pop House outshined The Rival. I'm counting the days until I can return. Thank you so much, Mattias and Ulf!

« Great place to stay, location on cleanliness »

Nice clean large bedroom and bathroom with ta tub. Quiet and well insulated door to the corridor. TV did not work but who cares! Small safety box for your belongings and a minibar for your own drinks (few were offered by the hotel). Parking place nearby with reduced price, but can be taken by someone else and reception people couldn't care less. No discounts available for the Abba Museum which came as a big surprise. Good breakfast and cheap price will make me to come back again.

« A great place to eat even if you don't stay at the hotel. »

The hotel & restaurant are in the same building as the ABBA Museum. We did go to the ABBA museum and decided to try the restaurant. The food and service was excellent. It was the best food we had eaten, I had a burger, my wife and daughter had the fish and the kids had Swedish meatballs. The service was great. Do not miss this place to eat,

« Does what it says on the tin! »

A great hotel if you want to go to the Abba party next door - which was a brilliant evening and well worth the money. You can book tickets for this with an inclusive room which was much easier than trying to get the party tickets through Ticketmaster and then sorting a hotel. Its an option you can choose on the hotel website. Hotel is also very close to the Varsa museum which was fascinating and also worth going to see. The hotel is small but perfectly formed. Rooms are small and basic with basic bathroom, ideal for one night stay. Breakfast was very good and included. Staff were efficient and friendly. Abba museum is a must if you are staying there. Really well done and fun.

    5
    « Excellent! »

I do not rate a hotel 5 easily but compared to many hotels in Stockholm Pop House is just excellent. Located in Skansen it is next to many of the must visit sights in Stockholm - and even though seemingly remote location from the centre of city it's actually conveniently away from the city centre and accessible by public transportation: boat and tram. I would recommend using the boats - something not available in many cities. The rooms are modern and all seemed to have at least sliding doors to outside area. A huge plus is to be near Skansen and Vasa Museum. The Abba "experience" downstairs is just an added bonus. Highly recommendable place to stay - even though it may look far away from city centre it is actually in the middle of the evening action taking place in the nearby area.

The hotel is located in a nice and relative quiet part of Stockholm as long as Gröna lund is closed. Cosy rooms with big windows and comfortable beds. You can taste the Pop house Lager beer, wich is nice.

« Very nice and stylish »

Nice grounds, cosy rooms, big windows quiet green place. Very Comfy beds with nice bed lining, bathrobes, modern TV. +really good breakfast, helpful staff and some kind of "ABBA fun" around it all makes this hotel a pleasant place to stay. We stayed just for one night in room with balcony and queen bed. 209. we would be happy to come back someday:)

    « Cool hotel! »

I am not so fond if hotels that are strongly connected to an activity. I like hotels that are hotels. But this hotel works. It is wall to wall with the Swedish Music Hall of Fame/Abba Museum. I am not an ABBA fan, but I could not resist visiting the museum and it was a positive surprise. It is a really genuine collection of ABBA stuff. Many of the rooms are intact so you can actually look into their first office (kitchen more or less) and the tiny cottage where they wrote fantastic music. But this is Djurgĺrden. Not so easy to park a car for example. Narrow. Lots of people. It is better to arrive with a cab. But it is wonderful surroundings. I was invited to a dinner at the Vasa museum and it is a spectacular walk, so don't forget to take a good look at the surroundings. I had a classy room, modern design overlooking Hotel Hasselbacken. The service was not great but acceptable.

« Did just go to the cafe but i did enjoy that! »

Like some people have already commented, do not come to the cafe after 5pm because you will not find any pastries or sandwiches apart from going to the restaurant which is slightly different in price. The place anyhow is very cool in decoration service is very good and the snacks were good as well! the music absolutely love and next time will go to the restaurant

« Don't check in late if you are hungry »

My friend and I was taking a trip Turku Finland we missed our ferry and looked for somewhere to stay, we had been driving for 13 hours, We came across the pop house hotel through the sat nav, after booking in and paying for the hotel we where told that the kitchen was closed all the other eating establishments where also closed there was not even a bar open within at least 15 minutes left or right when we got back to the hotel the bar was shut the water in the shore was tepid there is only a Mimi bar with chocolate and crisps there was a band playing loud music and bottles being emptied in a bin, a noisy place so make sure you get there early and do not want to sleep.

« Great little hotel with personalized service »

Staying above the ABBA museum is a cool experiance in and of itself, but the hotel stands on its own. I found the beds way to soft but people on here seemed to like that. That was the only issue I had and they brought me a very firm roll away bed that took care of my needs. In addition, the breakfast was outstanding!

    5
    « Nice Hotel »

We had a beautiful room with a view on the the haven an the fun park. The breakfast was quiet good. We had no lunch in the hotel. In front of the hotel you have the possibility to take the tram to the city. We didn't go to the ABBA Museum.

    4
« Great Location for A Lot of Tourist Attractions »

The hotel is located just meters from the entrance to Gröna Lund (Attractions), a bit further on is Skansen (open air museum with stuff from back then like houses, buildings, churches and a lot more. Very big place). In close proximity are Vasa Museum, Nordic Museum and more. The hotel is quite nice, clean, modern, good quality. Food was good (breakfast included). Entrance via the ABBA museum (a bit strange). Bathroom clean and modern with quite good products. Room safe, minibar, bathrobes, hairdryer. The only thing that was a bit out of the ordinary is that they only like 9 channels on tv and I only managed to find 2 that was in another language than swedish (bbc news and eurosport). Good value for the money though.

« Cool and modern hotel in connection with the ABBA museum! »

I enjoyed three nights at POP House and it is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast/restaurant is in connection with the bar and reception. Open and friendly but also a bit busy. Nice food, good breakfast. Fresh fruits, yoghurts and juices and good teas. Breakfast is a strength at POP House. The interior is modern and music inspired. Rooms and corridor is a bit dark and the automatic light come on late. Inside the room there is no light around the "electricity card slot", which makes it hard to find in the dark. A bit silly solution. The duvet is also too thin for winter but the bed still offers good sleeping comfort. All in all a good hotel with some improvement areas.

    « Nice modern hotel »

We stayed with 2 friends for two nights in this excellent hotel, with everything you could wish for except for the facility to make a hot drink. Otherwise everything was perfect, nice and friendly staff, very comfortable beds, nice and clean as well as quiet and peaceful day and night. A very nice breakfast and an easy 10 minute ride by boat, or tram in to the centre of Stockholm. (Or 100 kr for a taxi ride if you are too late for the last boat or tram.) Skansen, Gröna Lund, Restaurants and several large museums, are just a short walk away. The ABBA Museum is just downstairs and is great fun for all ages. The perfect place to stay if you want to see Stockholm, but want pease and quiet at night. Will definitely recommend and hope to stay there again!

« Perfect location for families »

We stayed here for a summer weekend trip to Stockholm with our 3 young kids. We chose to stay here due to its proximity to the attractions on the Djurgarden. You are within walking distance to a weekend full of activities for the family. The Vasa Museum, Skansen, Junibacken, Grona, etc. This is a great city break for families. The hotel itself is located within the ABBA museum, which adds a bit of quirkiness. We had adjoining rooms, but took several attempts by the staff to work out the locks between the rooms before we could get situated. The rooms are sparse, but just enough to meet expectations for a 4* property. Breakfast was delicious and provided a nice balanced offering to get the day started. The staff was friendly. Overall, we would stay here again primarily for the location.

« Modern nice stay on top of the ABBA museum »

Nice and fresh room overlooking the street, a little noisy in the morning. Great breakfast with a real and creamy scramble eggs, which is a measure of quality to me. Great coffee too. It's just across the street from Grona Lund fun fair, which was closed for the season. If you want to be close to the city it's just outside the city centre.

« Disappointing hotel - Eugene from UK »

I would rate this a 3 star hotel. The ground is dominated by the entrance to the ABBA museum and the shop. Breakfast was OK. Hotel was dead in the evening. Sweden is expensive enough but this was poor value for money. A UK Premier Inn is far superior.

    « That doors... »

Very poor for 4* hotel. In our room wasn't handle for balkony door. At night that door opened and it wasn't possible to close it. I was cold. A the morning meneger tell something about damaged handles in all hotel. Doesn't matter! It isn't acceptable for hight level hotel. And one more accident. When we But in general, room was clean, nice decorated. Breakfest was very good. Dinner in hotel restaurant was astonishing! Thanks Chief for so delicious experience!

« A dream hotel for Abba lovers! »

This was our fourth visit to Stockholm and as a lifelong ABBA fan I knew I had to stay in the ABBA Gold suite at the Pop house Hotel! I booked 2 nights well in advance of our stay but received an email the day before from Mattias the hotel manager informing me the room has a problem with the bathroom and it would only be available for our 2nd night. As disappointing as this was he offered us a standard room at a reduced rate and put a gift of Cava and snacks in the Abba Gold suite for our second night. So we were happy. Our standard room had a balcony overlooking the Abba museum and was furnished in typical Scandinavian minimalist style. When we checked in to the Abba Gold suite it was amazing to stay in such a unique room decorated with original gold discs presented to each member of the band. It also had a large balcony overlooking the Grona Lund side of the hotel. The hotel is ideal for visiting the Abba museum as its part of the same property. Also Mamma Mia the Party at Grona Lund is very close by. Highly enjoyable by the way! Djurgarden is a lovely part of the city and the trams, busses and ferry are all very accessible from the hotel. Its also a pleasant walk if the weather is good. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful as we have found most Swedish people to be. Bjorn from Abba is an owner of this hotel and Benny owns the Rival Hotel in Sodermalm so now us Abba fans are spoilt for choice. Obviously the POP House is more convenient for the Abba museum and all the other attractions on Djurgarden but I do think the Rival is a little more luxurious and stylish. Either way they are both great places to stay.

« Great Hotel, However Very Touristy »

The rooms were lovely and include private spacious bathrooms. The complimentary breakfast is also great, offering a wide variety of breads, lox, granola, juices and coffees. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by how touristy the hotel is. I didn't realize the large (and loud) museum gift shop is in the lobby and the hotel is located next to an amusement park.

« Thank you Pop House and the ABBA Museum for memorable experience!!! »

Great time! We had a fantastic and unforgettable week in the Pop House Hotel. The staff are amazing, very kind and helpful. We felt like at home. Tusen Tack... Emelie, Ramona, Stephanie, Ricardo, Elinor, Moa, and Mathias. The pop House Hotel is a very comfortable and clean boutique hotel. Perfect room Delicious breakfast. Where you're greeted by Abba songs upon arrival. The ABBA Museum is there. Hotel is close to the Grona Lund, Skansen, Nordiska Musset. And walk through the park on the island is wonderful. Djurgĺrden is a very special place. The ferry to Gamla Stan is a 150 meters. The tram, or bus are near, infront. Thank you Pop House and the ABBA Museum for memorable experience!!!

    « A great stay »

A great stay! Hotel is close to the fantastic Grona Lund amusement park, as well as Skansen (the open air museum). The ferry to the old town (Gamla Stan) is also just around the corner. Wonderful comfy beds, spotlessly clean rooms and a fab breakfast all combine to give a great stay. The staff are also fabulous! We had a money problem which we received great help with. We can't wait to return!

I've been here for a little over 3 weeks and it's been lovely. The reception staff have been helpful and smiley throughout my stay. My room was beautifully cleaned each day and very sound proof. The shower is a dream. The Pop House burger is award winning. The only slight downer is that one of the breakfast staff is most unhappy in her work... You know which one you are. I really can't recommend this hotel enough and I stay in lots of hotels around the world.

    « Great time! »

We stayed at the Pop House Hotel from July 22 through July 25, accommodations were great, we had two rooms. The Hotel was very clean and breakfast was very good. The location was great, the Pop House is next to many of Stockholm's museums. If we ever again have the opportunity to visit Stockholm, I would stay at the Pop House Hotel.

« Clean, comfortable, charming, and in a great location! »

Stayed 2 nights here while exploring Stockholm, and was very pleased with the whole experience. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and modern with wifi & all standard amenities. Delicious breakfast complimentary. In Djürgĺrden, a gorgeous island studded with parks and museums, perfect home base for tourist exploration. Easy access to the rest of the city by foot, bike, bus, tram, or ferry. Excellent value for Stockholm.

« Pop House Hotel, Stockholm »

We stayed several nights at the Pop House, prior to embarking on a cruise from Stockholm (the Frihamnen port). The location was great-easy walking distance to the Wasa, which was the primary goal of our stay. The hotel houses a restaurant which was very satisfactory-a limited menu, but the food quality was excellent. Breakfast (which is included in the hotel fee) was also good-a nice European-style buffet, but with a few 'US style' hot foods to help fortify us for the day. The hotel room was very nice-clean, well stocked and very quiet. The hotel and restaurant were all very friendly and helpful.

    « ABBAsolutely FUN! »

a hotel with not only LOCATION, but also a FUN MUSEUM connected is a bonus. All people working were obviously hired with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE skills. Access to all Transportation was super and the breakfast was quality - just maybe missing some fruits, but maybe that is not Swedish??

    « Absolutely Wonderful! »

This hotel is a must for all music lovers; especially die hard Abba Fans! Eveything is under one roof: A very comfortable and clean boutique hotel. Wonderful choice of cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner (except Sunday evening). All the staff are friendly, helpful, caring and bend over backwards to support your every need. The bedrooms are very clean, bright and airy with patio windows which allow access to small balconies. All rooms have air conditioning. The Museum is overwhelming and must be seen to be believed. It also features Eurovision History on one floor. A huge basement houses the Exclusive Abba Museum. The shop is well stocked with high quality merchandise. Abba Heaven! Thank you Pop House for memorable and highly commendable experience.

    « Location, location, location »

Pop House Hotel is modern boutique hotel located on beautiful Djurgĺrden in Stockholm, near numerous tourist attractions and offers a wide variety of options for the adventurous person - Gröna Lund and Skansen is literally around the corner. The hotel shares the same property as the ABBA museum and the entrance is just a push of an elevator button away (no need to go through the ticketing queue). Beds are comfortable, rooms spacious and offers a small balcony with a large sliding window. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choices. Staff is forthcoming and arranging a late checkout was a breeze. The hotel offers high speed complementary WiFi.

    « Nice Boutique Hotel »

Pop House is a new modern boutique hotel with a high standard in its rooms - better than most I have stayed in in Stockholm. Note that the restaurant is expensive, and while the breakfast buffet is nicely presented, choice is a bit more limited than the bigger hotels. But its mainly about location. Pop House is a great choice in spring/summer/autumn of you want access to Djurgardens extensive park or amenities - but still want to be near the city centre, Its a great choice for runners. Trams go more or less continuously to Stockholms centre, and you can also take the ferry (although you have to pay each time). You can also walk it in 15-20 minutes. Room prices are variable so at the higher end this may hotel may not be a first choice - Hotel Riddargatan can also be considered, which is another boutique hotel, better situated for going out and probably worth a little more.

« Clean basic hotel with friendly staff »

This hotel provides very good value for its cost. It's located near a number of tourist sites though about a 15 minutes walk from areas with numerous restaurants and bars. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I would also commend the staff who were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. So while not a 4 star I would recommend it for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

    5
    « Nice rooms »

Nice and spacious room with quiet air conditioning and good Wi-Fi. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. You can enjoy fantastic walking on Djurgĺrden and you are close to Nordic Museum and Vasa Museum.

« Great hotel, perfect service »

A perfect stay in a charming hotel, where you're greeted by Abba songs upon arrival. The staff at the reception is perfect. The rooms are comfortable (maybe just one or two drawers missing). The terrace is now covered and in good use for the summer. I can only recommend this place for Abba lovers but for everyone else too.

    « Eurovision 2016 »

Was there for 3 nights for Eurovision and had the best time ever the staff are very friendly and helpful. A good verity for breakfast from hot to cold food. To top it all off for a Eurovision fan in the same building as the hotel is the ABBA museum. All I can say is if your going to Stockholm stay at the pop house hotel it is FAB.

    3
« A bit like a travel inn but three times the price »

We stayed as part of a package with the Abba museum. The room was a bit small and had a constant drone from the air conditioning. The bar was limited in what you could buy, and the bar area spilled in to the reception area. This is a budget travel inn level hotel.

    3
    « Abba-stic! »

For a true Abba fan the hotel gives an extra kick. We stayed at the Abba Gold room, a suite with large balcony, large bed, two TV's and a separated sitting area. The room is decorated with special Abba-stuff, like the awards for selling 20 million! copies of the cd "Abba Gold". When this is said (and done..) there are some flaws. The minibar was stripped down, and the shower lacked somewhere to put shampoo and soap. There was a gap between the shower/bath tub and the wall, which caused water to run down to the floor. I couldn't find any socket in the bathroom. I stayed in january, and it was very quiet. I guess that is not the case in the summertime when Gröna Lund is open. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, but the tram, no 7, runs frequently and takes only 5-10 min to the center. Use your creditcard and buy tickets (there is 24 hours and 74 hours tickets available) at the ticket machine at the stop - that saves you 50 % compared to buying tickets from the conductor. Abba museum is in the basement of the hotel. OK breakfast, what you need but nothing more.

    4
    « Pleasant ... but nothing special. »

Its Ok...had expected more on the theme of POP in the common areas as well in the room. Rooms spacious and nice. Breakfast very good. The major benefit is the good walking areas around the hotel and the closeness to some very good restaurants.

    4
    « Perfectly Adequate »

Stylish, Good-value & Convenient. Pop house offers standard, spacious rooms with a pop design twist. Service is professional and discreet, if a bit impersonal. Located in a leafy neighbourhood 10' by tram from the centre, full of parks & museums. Overall, a good choice if you don't mind being a bit out of the city centre.

    « Very nice! »

I stayed here for a month for business and very much enjoyed it. In a fantastic walking area of Stockholm but still easily within reach of downtown. Very friendly staff and quite good breakfast. The views from the rooms are somewhat limited depending on the room. Beware that the laundry services are extremely pricey even by Stockholm standards.

    3
« Suitable for an overnighter »

The Pop House Hotel sells itself, to some extent on being attached to the Abba Museum. If that is your sole reason to visit Stockholm then it is probably a good place to stay. If not then you may be better advised to stay more centrally. The hotel is located in a very nice park area of Stockholm, and if you feel energetic, you can walk into the centre, but it is not close to the attractions. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and the lobby area had a nice feel to it, despite also being an entrance to the Abba Museum. The room was small and functional. Oddly the door to the room opened outward to the corridor, and in a corridor of bland grey doors it felt a bit like you were walking into a cupboard. Everything was clean and served its purpose but it wasn't a room for spending any length of time in - if you are going to be out a lot and merely need a comfortable bed and shower this may suit you. The restaurant, which is in the lobby is quite nice for a drink and breakfast in the morning, and again, the staff were very friendly and pleasant. This is not a bad hotel by any means, but if you want proper boutique or luxury this is not the hotel for you.

    3
    « Hotel with potential »

POP House hotel is located a bit outside the city center, about 40 min by foot, but with tram just infront. The ABBA Museum is a part of the building and Skansen just infront. My room was big with a large bathroom, with a modern interior without being too much design or typical Scandinavian. I missed though some essential like hangers for the cloths! The room was also pretty cold, even if the heating was on. Luckily a as provided which saved me from freezing. The wifi worked well. The breakfast was pretty small but with the essential and a plus for fruitsalad. I missed organic alternatives and the hotel has no visible enivironmental policy. The staff was quite anonomous and when I mentioned that the room was very cold I got a "I'm sorry"......This hotel has the potential to live up to the image of a quality design place as it has the features, but then some essential and basic services need to improve like details in the room and more caring attitude. Then this hotel could be somewhere to come back to.

    3
« Modern but far from perfect »

Modern hotel at Abba museum in nice area close to the centre and with tram stop in front of the hotel. Good food and excellent breakfast, but gets very busy and crowded when the museum is open. We got a very small room that didn't match the description on booking.com, and it took them 2 nights to get us in a larger room. No discount was given, just some fruits. Booking.com also were very unhelpful, so both the hotel and the booking site left me with rather negative feelings. So be careful if you go there, and double check if you get the room they promised. Staff are friendly but not very competent. Food and drinks very expensive.

« I will certainly come back again! »

I stayed at the hotel with my 5 year old daughter! It was clean with warm atmosphere! The bed was really comfortable after the busy days in Stockholm, trying to see as many places as we could! The location is at Djurgarden, which is a really nice island, where many of the museums of the city. It's easy getting to the city center by using the tram n.7, which passes exactly outside the hotel regularly! The staff were warm helpful and gentle. They helped us with printing boarding passes and gave us information about what we asked! The breakfast was really nice. The hotel is located in the same building with the Abba Museum, which is one of the best museums i have ever visited Thank you so much! I will certainly come back again!

« Clean but not flawless »

Took this hotel because there seemed nothing good and reasonably priced in Sodermalm and similar places. The hotel is clean, well designed, the breakfasts are good, you can get there fast on a tram from the center and on a ferryboat from Sodermalm (10 minutes), during the day you can eat wonderful local food at Bla Porten cafe nearby, there are museums and the park around. Please keep in mind that there's pretty nowhere to eat around in the evening, eat in Sodermalm or elsewhere before you go back. The staff is friendly but they don't always know everything you need them to. On check-in they've changed versions of how much to charge (eventually they took less that anticipated on booking so that's ok), didn't know that transport tickets can be bought on a ferry terminal several steps from the hotel - sent me 1.5 kilometers away.

    « Warm genuine service »

The staff were warm helpful and genuine. Special thanks to Manza, Emelie & Lisa . They help us secure tickets to a preview party of Mama Mia, that was difficult to obtain. Mazda went out of her way. Lisa was very helpful in finding me an adaptor. You could see that she was genuine and cared. Emelie helped with printing boarding passes and was patient and calm.

    « Basic at best... »

Booked Pop House Hotel last minute late evening, the last room available was a standard twin room. I was greeted at check-in by a very friendly and personable member of staff who explained to me when breakfast was served, how to operate the lifts to my room and asked me if I was hungry and would like a reservation in the restaurant. I declined the reservation, overall a great first impression. The room was basic at best, with no tea or coffee making facilities - always a must for me when I travel. I want to wake up and make a cup of coffee before I face the breakfast bar and hotel guests. Loved sinking into the big bath tub before bed, but the poor design and position of the shower over the tub means water is very likely to splash on to the floor as it did the following morning when I gave the shower a test drive. Would I stay again? Pop in a kettle and coffee and beef up the mattresses (see photo) and I'll think about it.

« Perfect Location, Fantastic Service & Food! »

My friend & i stayed at the wonderful Pop House Hotel, alongside our visit to the ABBA museum, for which a review has been written (fantastic place by the way!). Booking was made online via the hotel's website & managed to get a most reasonable price for the stay. Our room was a twin-bed, extremely comfortable beds too. Being on the second floor, access was either via the stairs or the lift. Room service was available daily. The room accommodated a bathroom consisting of; shower over bath tub; hand basin; toilet. Complementary towels & bathrobes & slippers were provided too. No issues with the shower or bath, lovely hot water, decent water pressure, toiletries also provided. There was a work desk, armchair & open style wardrobe storage area within the room, along with a balcony which overlooked the front of the building, & the outdoor entertainment area (whilst we were there they had the last outdoor music session for the season). Lots of beautiful natural light thanks to very large sliding doors. A safe was also located above the minibar. Reception staff were available 24/7 & were most polite & helpful. Nothing was too much to be of assistance. As part of the package cost, breakfast was included. Extremely impressed with the offering - cooked or continental, no issues with replenishing food or drink items, staff very attentive. They were able to cater for a gluten intolerance diet with no issues, of which we were most grateful for. We also ate at the restaurant for some evening meals & glad we did, much the same superb service & a beautiful menu, which had only recently been produced. A really nice gentle atmosphere in the restaurant, some background music, enough to hear, but not too much to drown out conversation! The restaurant seemed busy each time we visited, both for groups & couples & families. All could be accommodated with ease. You could eat at the restaurant without staying at the hotel, so if you are staying elsewhere, at least consider a visit for a wonderful meal experience! We chose the hotel for its location to the ABBA museum - which is housed downstairs from the hotel & the gift shop is located on the ground floor next to the hotel's cafe/restaurant area. We would definitely recommend the hotel, whether for a visit to the ABBA museum, or perhaps to stay a short way out of Stockholm, it is only a few mins (maybe 10 max) on the tram into the main part of the city, or you can walk it, as we did on a beautiful autumnal saturday which takes you alongside the waterways. Having flown into Arlanda from London Heathrow (BA), we caught the Arlanda Express train from the airport to the city. Duration 20 mins. You can purchase tickets at the machines at the airport or via the Arlanda Express App, where you can pre purchase tickets & then activate them before you board the train. There are conductors on board, & you can also purchase tickets from them also. Thank you so much to the Pop House Hotel, we had a fantastic stay, topped by our visit to the ABBA museum, we will return! :-)

« Perfect location, sort of hip hotel, great staff, excellent breakfast, fine room »

Location is everything: everything is close by or can easily be reached by bus, tram or ferry (1 to 5 minutes walk). I had a great day with the ferry to Gamla stan, walking to Skeppsholmen and back with the ferry from there. Almost all must see's included. Fine room in great hotel with friendly staff. Excellent facilities and especially "grand" breakfast. When in Stockholm this is a treat.

    « Lovely room & Lovely breakfast »

I only stayed one night , on a business trip, But I managed to have a long relaxing bath in the nice tub, and enjoyed the wide selection for breakfast (which is included) . Not being very familiar with Stockholm, it was really easy to get the tram , it stops right out side the hotel and takes you straight into the city center. if you are there in the summer and a garden lover , Rosendals Trädgĺrd is only a 20 min walk and is perfect for coffee or lunch surrounded by beautiful flowers.

« On top of the ABBA Museum »

Great location with lots of nearby attractions. Ferry and tram to city right at the hotel. Staff were really friendly and the room was clean and well appointed. Excellent breakfast. The Pop House Hotel was recommended to us by a friend from Stockholm, his judgement was vindicated by our enjoyment of a great stay at an excellent boutique hotel on top of the ABBA museum.

« Great choice in Stockholm »

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and loved it. The rooms are larger than normal for Scandinavia. Whilst the rooms are a little past new, the beds are fabulous! The breakfast is the best but the really great thing about this hotel is the staff! They couldn't be more helpful. It is a small hotel situated on Museum island so you are minutes away from the fabulous Vasa Museum and the tram stop to town is immediately outside the hotel. The Abba Museum is in the same building. If you like staying somewhere a bit different from standard hotels, this is the place for you.

    4
« Good room, excellent food »

The room was nice (and very spacious). We were a little disappointed not to have the opportunity for an early check-in, and had to entertain ourselves on Djurgĺrden for quite a while. On the plus side, they did offer to hold our bags behind the desk, and we had time for lunch at the restaurant. It was delicious! You will run out of things to do in the immediate area after a couple days, but there are a couple amazing museums nearby, as well as all of the island. It will take some time to walk into the heart of the city, where your options are much more varied.
