The ANNO 1647 Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western is a calm and friendly oasis in the middle of the urban landscape. Located at Slussen, Sodermalm, it offers views over Stockholm’s Old City and the waterfront. The business district, Stockholm’s Central Station, a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars are all located within easy reach. The hotel consists of two buildings, linked together. The front building was built in 1647 while the back building was built in the middle of the 18th century. Our combination of historical premises and modern interiors makes it an accommodation with a unique character. The rooms all differ from each other and if the building itself could tell you about its own history you would be awake all night. Since the buildings are historically listed, they do not have elevators. The 17 century building has over 300 years of history in one of Stockholm’s oldest blocks. It is the small details that make you realize you are staying in a historical building, which is what makes the ANNO 1647 Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western a hotel with a difference.

This is a lovely old building and the history is felt throughout. The huge stone spiral staircase was a real gem. Staff were professional and welcoming and the room was spotless and comfortable. I didn't eat here but would recommend otherwise.

"Great Hotel -- Would Definitely Come Back!"

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is conveniently located close to Slussen metro station as well as walking distance (7-10 min for crossing the bridge) to Gamla Stan. Situated in the ancient building (dates back to 1647), the hotel has a history and a character of its own, we like such places. Although there is no elevator (we were warned about this when we booked), we opted for a stay on the 3rd floor in room. The windows faced the inner yard and it was rather calm at nights. The breakfast levels the 4-5 star hotel and can satisfy all tastes. The bathroom and toilet -- although not very spacious, but clean and functional. The bed is also very comfortable. We had a clean room and fresh towels daily. The ALL staff at the reception were VERY helpful and friendly, answering questions, explaining directions, recommending eating places and fetching champagne glasses and a bucketful of ice for chilling the drinks late at night. Definitely recommend and would come back again. Thank you!

"Pluses and minuses."

Let's start with the pluses. The location, on the edge of the fashionable and lively Storen district and just across the bridge from Gamla Stan old town, is pretty much unbeatable. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was great. The minuses? Apart from a small enclosed courtyard, there's no outside space. And the small rooms are really small - barely enough room to open a suitcase and a bathroom so tiny, the toilet had to be installed at an angle. No fridge or aircon either, which was disappointing with temperatures hitting 35 degrees. Overall - poor value for £100+ per night.

"Noisy with Slussen right under your windows"

Had music, drunks, fights right under our windows until past 1am every night.Don't accept a room that faces the street going to the station, ask for courtyard facing room. Room had no hooks of closet. Bathroom clean but tiny. Breakfast is very good and staff tried to help with nightly noise issues Management never responded to our emails.

"Nice hotel "

Stayed for 2 nights. Great location. Awesome breakfast. Nice staff. Really nice room, vintage style. Bed really good, nice shower. Fan was present in room, a nice addition. No elevators so luggage had to be carried up two floors.

"A great option for staying while in Stockholm"

This hotel seems to be an old mansion converted into a hotel. My family of 4 had adequate room space to accommodate all 4 of us in one big suite having 3 rooms, including 2 bedrooms. Our room was very quiet without any street noise. This hotel is located within 3 minutes walk from the nearest metro station - Slussen making it very convenient to travel by metro within Stockholm. Included breakfast, at the on site restaurant, was more than adequate. Staff is extremely friendly & helpful. Several restaurants are present in the neighborhood. Felt extremely safe while walking around this hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stockholm.

"Good value for your money!"

Enjoyed my stay at Anno in january. The location is great, just a10 minute walk to the gamla stan, and 4 mins from the closest metro station. The area around the hotel is nice too. Service was exellent at the hotel. Our room was very clean and cozy, very basic but had everything we needed. Toilets are a bit dated, but again, very clean. Amazing breakfast! Would stay again

"Ok hotel, good location"

Hotel Anno 1647 (so named because the original building dates from that year) is located in Slussen, the hilly part just outside the Stockholm old town and in the doorsteps of the trendy Södermalm-district. It's a brisk 30 minute walk from the central railway station and airport bus stop or a few stops by the metro. The hotel nowadays belongs to the Best Western -chain and some renovations have been made. The standard rooms are ok, clean and with most necessary amenities. The hotel also has "economy" rooms for budget travelers. The breakfast is ok, with some nice touches as energising juice "shots", a porridge bar (beware - the porridge mixture is very salty!) and a good choice of teas. I stayed in a single room which was very small but comfortable. The bath room was a bit tricky - it was difficult to wash one's face in the basin without hitting one's head on the shelf above! The rooms are quiet as they give to the little side street. There is no elevator in the hotel so be prepared to climb. If most of your activities are in the "old side" of the city then I'd recommend a hotel there as it's a few kilometres walk there. If, however, you want to hang around in Södermalm-district, then this is a good choice

"Best location in Stockolm"

I came to this hotel for a long weekend with my wife and we stayed in room #58. I don't know the reason why, but room #58 is two or three times bigger than the others. Lucky us!! The hotel is located just next to the Slussen metro station, meaning only 50m away from it, which is a big deal! The room has a Queen size bed, a three-seat sofa, flat screen TV, a small locker with some hangers and a couple of windows with a view to the main street heading north to Gamla Stan. The toilet room is enough for doing your business, it doesn't have any toilettry though! Just a hair dryer and some shower gel dispenser. The breakfast is sufficient but it gives some room for improvement, for instance, the scrambled eggs. They were very dry and it seemed they had been overcooked. A positive point I would remark from the breakfast is that you may have some spiruline and weight loss shots as well as kefir. Never seen it before in a hotel. The cleaning and the staff were outstanding, as expected. If I ever come back to Stockolm, I will try this hotel again, room #58, of course!

Totally recommend this brilliant establishment! The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We were able to stow our luggage in the morning, the Wi-Fi faultless, wide variety for breakfast, location +++

"Good Value for the Money"

I stayed at Hotel Anno 1647 for 4 nights in August 2017. I chose this Hotel mainly based on Tripadvisor reviews and price since Stockholm Hotels can be a bit pricy. The following review is based on a Hotel in this price category and I am not comparing Hotel Anno 1647 with the Four Seasons or any other luxury Hotel. I opted for the basic room with a shared Bathroom and shared Toilet on the same floor. Let's start with the bad part first: There is definitely a noise issue to consider. This is an old building and some of the walls are paper thin. You will hear your neighbors coming and going, and based on the location of your room you will have some major street noise, especially on weekend nights. Also, there is a major construction project going on close to the Hotel, therefore a sledge hammer may wake you between 7:45am and 8:00am during the week. To me personally, the noise was the only major drawback. Now, to the good part. Although I opted for the basic room, sharing the Bathroom or the Toilet was no problem at all. During my 4 night stay I only encountered the Bathroom busy once. I waited 10 minutes and the coast was clear. On my floor, both, Bathroom and Toilet were clean. My room was very small, had only a small bed, a sink with a fresh towel daily and a fairly large flat screen TV, but was definitely clean! Since I was sightseeing all day long, I did not spend much time in my room. The Front Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the Hotel is very good. A short stroll over the bridge and you are in the Old Town (Gamla Stan) of Stockholm. In general, most major Stockholm attractions can be reached walking; only the Vasa Museum is a little further away. Bars, Restaurants and convenience stores are also very close by. To me personally, the best part was the Breakfast. Considering the price category of this Hotel, the complimentary breakfast was simply amazing. You will have a wide variety of options to choose from. Would I stay at this Hotel again? MOST DEFINITIVELY!

"great value"

We enjoy staying in non traditional hotels, bed and breakfast, etc and this was perfect. It was built in 1647 and is an interesting building. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices. The hotel has rooms with private bathrooms. We opted for the less expensive shared bathroom. It was close to our room, always clean and we never saw anyone else in it so we never had a wait. It is close to major attractions and the metro.
