The Best Western Nordic Luebecker Hof is located just outside the charming Hanseatic City of Luebeck, in Stockelsdorf. The hotel was built in 1996 and has 113 rooms, spread over six floors. All of the bathrooms are equipped with a shower and hairdryer. Rooms also include a telephone, cable television and a radio. In the glass pavilion, one can enjoy a Scandinavian breakfast with specialties from the far north. The restaurant serves regional delicacies. During the summer months, the garden terrace is open. Among the special facilities of this hotel include a relaxing sauna and a conference area. The conference area with three light-filled meeting rooms can accommodate up to 150 people.
110€ room without A/C, no breakfast included, old interior, internet very weak at 5th. floor, impossible to open the windows because of the noise from the street. 10 points to the lady at the reception was very kind and trying to help, she was sweating because there is no a/c also at the reception. I don't reccomend this Best Western hotel in Lübeck. I give only 2 stars.
We booked here as being close to Lübeck and having a garage to put the car in. Unfortunately although the reception area was nice the room was not. We booked a large room which it was with a balcony and sitting area but it had two large steps of curtains and both were half hanging off the rails. The receptionist came and managed to roughly fix it but they came off again straight away. The pillow cases did not fit the pillows consequently we had a pillow with stains on and the case not fitting. The fridge did not work and this was changed the next day. The room had laminate floors which were not that clean, the wardrobe area was covered in dust and the floor was not cleaned the whole 5 days we were there. Breakfasts were nice and we did use the restaurant on our first night which was quite nice. Unfortunately we could not even venture into the bar as it was a smoking bar and the smell from this permeated through ground floor. In a hotel smoking area should be outside as this made the bar out of bounds for people who did not want to breath in cigarette smoke, I know this is allowed in Germany but of all the six hotels we used the bar was open to all and smokers had designated areas outside. They do have a car park but at the weekend it gets very busy so if there is no room you have to find parking in surrounding areas and these areas do have restrictions on them. It is very close to the bus stop so very good for getting into Lübeck. This hotel needs updating decor wise and regarding having smoking inside the hotel.
Stayed here based on company recommendation, unfortunately this hotel needs to be modernized. For example: update the rooms, bed linens were old and worn. Bathroom fixtures were worn and old. Morning breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. I enjoyed the food immensely. Wide variety and high quality food. Need a car to get around so plan accordingly.
Manage you are in your room and a different guest came in. In the same room that you are IN HOW will you feel. How could anyone feel safe in this hotel. Even the customer service is pretty bad. it's supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I will not I would not recommend this place to anybody at all.
Stayed here on my way driving through Germany. Was looking for a decently priced hotel for a solid sleep. This was spot on for that purpose. The room was large, bed good, parking available and the breakfast very nice. Highly recommended for travelers needing a good hotel close to the Autobahn. The only downside was that the wifi was very poor, hardly working at all. This may have been due to the location of my room, though, but nevertheless shouldn't happen. This takes my rating from excellent to very good.

Dear Tapio, great to hear such a nice review and thank you for that stay with us. We indeed had problems with our WiFi but about a week ago it was restructured in the whole house. Since then it is working like a charme so the next time you might stay with us you can expect good WiFi. The other comments speak for themselves so I can just wish you a nice upcoming week, your Best Western Nordic Hotel Lübecker Hof.
The hotel and room was clean, the beds were decent and the staff was serviceminded. The Wi-fi worked here, most of the time. Only downside was the neighborhood which did not look like a area worth exploring.
The hotel would have to greatly improve its service level as the people working the reception wasn't neither very helpful nor particular friendly or forthcoming. The room cleaning was not very good and most of the room equipment didn't work, such as power wall plugs, refrigerator etc. The hotel was greatly overpriced for what you actually received and the room didn't even include breakfast or parking which had to be added to the room price. All in all a lacking experience that is in great contrast to all other BW hotels in Germany in which I have stayed.
I really enjoyed my stay for one night at the hotel. Huge clean rooms - very little noise - yes I admit it - today I slept over??. But I reached the big well asorted breakfast????. The hotel has its own parking garage, and with public transport just outside the hotel it was easy to go downtown beautyful Lubeck! The price too was very comoetitive????.
This hotel is easy to find by car, and they have secure parking (9 euro per night). Large rooms. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Situated outside town. Easy to get to town on bus number 9.

Dear Lene, thanks for this great rating and review. Since there is not much to add we will just wish you a great upcoming week and welcome you back anytime to beautiful Lübeck. Best regards, your Best Western Nordic Hotel Lübecker Hof.
This hotel is in a quiet surburb of Lübeck, within walking distance of the old town (3 kilometres) Staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fine. The room was large and clean and a comfortable bed, we just had the usual problem one gets with hotel Showers that have a mind of their own. There is coffee and tea making facility if you can find a socket to plug the kettle into and you don't want to break your back crawling under the table. Otherwise a good hotel. Watch the onsite car parking fee. 9 Euros per day.

Dear Anna, thank you for your response. We are very glad that the most important topics staff, breakfast, room, bed and cleanliness were satisfactory. Concerning the shower we have already sent our technician in the room were you stayed. Meanwhile he also changed the plugs under the desk which should be in the correct working order again. Thanks again for the comment and we would hope to have you as a guest again, your Best Western Nordic Hotel Lübecker Hof.
I was tempted to cancel my booking at Best Western Nordic Hotel Lübecker Hof after reading some of the comments here on Tripadvisor. I am glad I did not because I had a wonderful stay. I assume that the reviewers rate the hotel much different depending on if they came for business or pleasure. So my review contains the typical points of a guy travelling for business. I paid 73,50 EUR in room 318 excluding parking (9 EUR) and breakfast (6,75 EUR) - a price I believe which is more than reasonable So as a business traveller I always ask myself these questions: Where can I park my car? --> the hotel has covered parking below the hotel for about 30 cars. Entrance is secured by gates with key code (exit) so accessible at any time. There is an elevator from the parking deck directly to check-in and rooms. How do I check in? --> Reception is 24/7 and the people are very friendly Where do I eat? --> Hotel restaurant is Italian style. The food is reasonable priced and very good. Service people however seem to be quite inexperienced. We had to ask several times for missing pieces such as a spoon to eat Spaghetti, Parmesan cheese for the nudels or Balsamic vinegar for the salad. The restaurant is closed on Sunday! Is there a bar? --> There is a very cozy bar with a nice bar tender open every day from 7pm. The bar alone is worth a visit with the old ship model and the atmosphere in it. Please be aware this is a smokers bar and you cannot charge to your room. How is breakfast? --> Breakfast is very tasty and the room has a lot of atmosphere with the view to the small creek behind the hotel. Staff is very friendly and I really would recommend to have breakfast here. How are the rooms? Rooms are a nice size and the bed is very cozy - probably one of the best beds I had in hotels recently. Rooms have hardwood floor and I loved everything in it. Bathrooms are dated and some mold in the corners showing the age of the hotel (the building is quite old). Shower pressure is good and the space is above average. Some people report that the hotel is dated? Correct if you translate atmosphere with "dated". I would rather call the hotel an older building with charme however I understand that people expect clean, sterile hotels nowadays. Personally I prefer some style and this hotel has style. How easy can the hotel be reached? The hotel is near the highway but in a very quiet neighborhood. Ideal for a good night sleep. How is Internet connection at the hotel? My room was on the 3rd floor which is the highest level. I was unable to connect in my room to the Best Western WiFi but since the hotel is in a destination where both Vodafone and T-Mobile have full LTE connection I did not need. On lower levels Internet WiFi speed is fast and reliable. I would always stay here again when I come to the region for business. I would not stay here as a tourist since it is far away from downtown and the double beds are too small for me and my wife (140 x 200).

Dear teaki78089, thank you for this excellent review of our hotel and the advices to all future guests of ours. There is not much to add, only that our WiFi will be modified in the next few months and will thereby extend it's range. Also there is a public bus (number 9) going directly from the hotel into Lübeck's oldtown, so maybe a chance for you to come as a tourist as well! If you bring your wife we definitely will give you a double room. The beds are 180cm wide while our kingsize beds, which you had, are only 140cm wide. We appreciate your time commenting, your team from the Best Western Nordic Hotel Luebecker Hof.
Conveniently located not far from the Autobahn. Nice modern room. Very pleasant Italian style restaurant and bar. A bit difficult to find if you use in car navigation. Make sure you input the hotel name, not it's address. My (Ford) navigation did not understand the address at all, (too many alternatives in the nearby area), but did know the hotel's actual location.

Dear Dave, we appreciate your great rating and the helpful response. We actually have this case a few times each month so here is a little help: Our street name exists twice in the area - although just 2 kilometers apart from each other. The postal code must be '23617', city should be 'Stockelsdorf' not Lübeck, and district is 'Ostholstein'. If help is needed please call us under 0049 451 490707. Best regards, your team of the Best Western Nordic Hotel Lübecker Hof.
Had a room facing the street, and by the noice you would think the bed was placed on the side walk, you hear every car passing by and every couple walking by talking. Room big and nice beds but 0 sleep!
Reception staff were welcoming and the check in and check out process was easy. Room was a good size with tea & coffee making facilities. You had to pay extra for breakfast and there was a good choice of food and drink. There are two underground garages for guests, access to the one we parked in was very narrow. There is a bus stop just up the road to get buses into Luebeck, which run every 30 minutes and take you to various placed on "the island". There is a bar and Italian restaurant at the hotel.
First thing's first, we had arrived at 2 AM, exhausted and ready to call it a night. When aghast to the chagrin of disbelief, we found a black dog with the receptionist in the reception. Our rooms were booked beforehand, therefore when we arrived to our rooms, turns out there was no air conditioning and we were hot. As a result, we had to open the window, to let some air in, but were constantly awakened by the car noises. I did go downstairs and inquired about the lack of air conditioning. Turns out, the Best Western hotel chain has no air conditioning. The continental breakfast, on the other hand, was phenomenal. I could've gone to Holiday Inn, which would've been just about the same price with much better quality and value.
good location just off the autobahn. Hotel was easy to find, had its own underground car park -which you have to pay for. Room was well appointed and of a good size. Breakfast was very good with a good selection, and well presented. The evening meal was also excellent and a reasonable price with a good choice of dishes on the menu. But the wifi would not work at all in the evening, but not until the morning did one of the staff tell me there was a problem, the night before I was told it was because too may people were using it.
We arrived at this hotel after seeing the Booking.com review and pricing, we asked if the hotel could match the price on Booking.com, they said no with a fair bit of bad attitude....we should have left but went outside and made the booking through Booking.com then when in and booked into our room, well the room smelled of stale cigarettes and it was an average room, the window was above where the restaurant staff smoked...once again we should have not booked this place. The wifi only works in the foyer area. The bar is an enclosed smokers room also. If you are not a smoker then steer clear of this place. They also charge 13.50EUR each for breakfast which is its only saving grace.
We arrived late to the hotel. It was booked and payed in advance on internet. On arrival they could not find the payment, so it was some confusion. The staff was more suspicious than friendly. They also started to check in other guests. The room was ordinar but needed renovation and the beds could be better. The breakfast was ok. There is a hotelparking but out car with a skibox was to high. As an BW member I normally expect better standard on a BW hotel. This does not deserve a four star rating. Save your money to a better hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel several times, but this time was the first time a asked for a double room. (Earlier we have been three adults.) The room was quite big with a double bed (two single beds next to each other), desk, sofa, table, chairs, cupboard and tv. Several windows gave a lot of light into the room. The bathroom was OK. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were clean. I also like this hotel because it is placed quite near the A1 motorway so it is easy to find. Earlier I have booked the room in advance, but this time I had to call on the way since I didn't know if we would reach Lübeck that day. Earlier I have been able to reserve a place in the parking garage in the basement of the hotel, This time they couldn't guarantee that which made me consider other hotels. But they told me (on request) that I could park outside the hotel if the garage was full. Then I booked the room and when I arrived, I could park the car in the garage. I don't think it is acceptable that they couldn't guarantee a parking place when I booked, because when you travel by car, you need a place for the car as well. The personnel were nice and friendly.
The bad - some traces of mold in shower and dust around room where wall meets floor - room needed a good vacuum. Internet connection was tolerable, but for internet phone which we use it was terrible - unusable. The 9 euros parking charge is ridiculously high when close by on street parking is free overnight. Furniture layout was awkward - the TV had to be rotated 90 degrees to be seen from the bed. Now the good - staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Other than dust on the floor and bit of mold in the shower, the room and bathroom were very clean.
Large and light room and responsive, multilingual staff. Good continental breakfast. Bus stop and small local shops near hotel. 25 min. walk from old city center, but easy to find. Good value per price.
Stayed here for a short break utilizing some days off during the Xmas holiday. Had a Best Western gift certificate and decided to use it here. The hotel is of average standard, but as expected for this type of standard and value. Pros: - The reception was helpful with local map - Good italian restaurant affiliated to the hotel - Breakfast buffet - the selection of food Cons: - A bit dated decor...could use remodeling. - WIFI connection in room really poor. Could be due to room placed at the end of the corridor. - Breakfast buffet - Preparation/Cooking of the hot dishes could be improved. The eggs were cooked very hard and the bacon chewy. Also the attention of the staff to fill up the empty containers could be improved. Top tips: - Ask for a room with good WIFI connection. - Parking: Avoid paying for using the lot linked to the hotel. There is plenty of public spaces in the street in front of the hotel. Be aware to check street parking rules...there is free parking from 18.00 on several spots.
Friendly reception. Lobby a bit stale. Comfort room is larger, but the furnishings for bleak and worn. Bed linen clean. Weak lights. It offers a good location in trallers from/to Skandinavienkai Harbour.
We came very late last night. We had a very quick check-in. Room was clean. Only remarks are that internet is not working and they left an almost empty bottle with shampoo in the shower. Otherwise expensive but OK for one night.
Large room, same boring channels as all European hotels offer (only news). This is definetly an overpriced hotel at over €110 per night. This is our second time and were happily surprised with this large room (we have quite a lot of luggage since we were on the road for 4 weeks). The pillows were awful and didn't get a good night sleep.
This hotel is rated as a 4 star hotel. But how it's become this can only be because of its facilities. The rooms are smelly but clean. Much noise from the hall and elevator and the bed was dreadful. The food in the restaurant was bad, my guess is frozen food heated really poor, and the waiters have got rude manors and don't care about the customer. You have to pay 2 euros using your credit card on the hotel. I can't recommend this hotel at all.
Perhaps because it's a bit off the beaten path, perhaps because of negative reviews: I'm not sure why such a bargain was offered. But my husband found an incredibly good deal on a one-night stay here online, and since we'd been wanting to go back to Luebeck, we thought it was pre-ordained. We were very pleasantly surprised. The value for the money ( ~65 Euros in a King bed for two with breakfast) was incredible! I'm not sure which rooms others were referring to, but ours had been cleaned adequately and was certainly spacious. (We were in 332 in the new wing). Everything that we needed worked just fine. It's a bit of a hike to the tourist area in a somewhat rundown neighborhood, but the hotel is convenient to the bus line, making the ride in on #9 extremely easy. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to pack along my own pillow, as theirs was worse than flat and dreadful. But the bed was quite comfy, the bathroom was up-to-date and served its purpose, breakfast was hearty, offering adequate variety, and we ate in a bright, cheery room. The best bit was the Greek restaurant directly across the street, but that's another review, isn't it?
