Staff was friendly nearby restaurant and overall quiet. but I found a roach in my cup when I woke up that next morning please beware. When I advised nothing was done. I will not be staying there again……………………………………………………………………………………………..

I've stayed at this specific hotel now on 4 separate occasions and plan to continue doing so while doing business in Springfield. The price of rooms is very reasonable for someone that is budget conscious like myself. The breakfast has a decent selection. The rooms I have stayed in have always been clean and in working order.

We had to relocate due to house issues being fixed. The staff was very nice and the room was clean, and bed was comfortable. Only thing I would have liked more is steaming instead of cable and having more gluten-free options for Breakfast.

The hotel is an easy drive to Springfield attractions. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was free and nicely done, the hotel was clean and neat, the beds were very comfortable, and he price was right.

The good: It is very convenient to downtown springfield. Staff is welcoming. Wifi is strong and tv reception decent. The bad: Bathroom was in very rough shape, the door was very thin, the room had a weird smell. Lighting in the parking lot was too scanty.

A very nice hotel and room. The bed was too hard. Possible, mattress topper to make the bed softer. The staff was very nice and helpful. Only 10 minutes away for my husband to do his business for the day.

It was a very good motel. Very comfortable beds, nice TV and reception. Nice to have a sleep timer on the tv remote. Enjoyed the grab bars in the shower. Needs to have a handicap height toilet though!

The hotel was okay overall. The rooms need new carpet, the breakfast was a pretty standard continental, the rooms were not as clean as I would have liked, and the mattress needs to be replaced. We found the beds too hard and uncomfortable. The indoor pool was great! The staff, especially the housekeepers, were extremely friendly and welcoming. The two ladies we encountered were so friendly and one of them left us the sweetest note!

Just that, adequate but priced like something more than than that. Clean enough but kind off run down and tired feeling. It could be that the state capital location commands higherlodging rates. Next time passing though here on I 55 I'll look for something in Litchfield or Bloomington.

Location is close to interstate. Hotel presents as being clean, but definite musty odor in rooms! Air conditioning unit works well. Breakfast has nice variety of both hot and cold items with pllenty to choose from.

Hotel was clean, and quiet. Had breakfast every morning of my stay and it was tasty and kept warm and replenished! Lobby was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. close proximity to restsurants, shopping and the interstate

The hotel is a little dated, but very clean and everything worked well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was actually quite good and had hot (sausage patties, cheese omelet and fried potatoes) and cold options. Very pleased.

The BW Clearlake Plaza motel is worth the stop. Our room was very clean and spacious. The motel sets on a deadend street and therefore it is quiet and clean and very close to the Interstate, less than an a mile).

Total communication breakdown at front desk with available inventory of clean rooms. It took 3 tries to enter a clean room! Back and forth to front desk after encountering room after room that had not been cleaned. (Unmade beds, trash.) Not what you want at the end of a 10 hr drive. Otherwise the room was ok, except discovered in the morning that the fridge wasn't working so had to throw our cooler contents away. Front desk apologized for our inconvenience but that's all we got. Breakfast was not appealing so we chose to go out to eat. Location proximate to I-55 was convenient but overall, not the best experience.

Very reasonably priced for a place that was clean, quiet and convenient. The managers are extremely helpful and accommodating. Requests that were made never had to be repeated—you could submit a request for the duration of your stay without having to call in or remind anyone each day.

I have stayed at several Best Western's for work related reasons. This one in Springfield, IL was great as long as you stay on the second floor away from the pool! The first floor rooms smell like a moldy pool room. When returning home, my clothes and my bags smelled like the room :( The internet is very slow... this has been every time I've stayed at this hotel. I ended up using my cellular data. Staff is extremely nice. Especially the guy working 2nd shift hours... I think his name is Matt. So very helpful! Rooms are very clean, I've never had an issue with cleanliness! Water takes forever to get hot, but that may be only on the second floor. Overall, this hotel was perfect for what I need for work-related trips. I will continue to stay here. Price is right, and if you're a rewards member, you get even better deals! I recently got a free night!

This location is clean, just showing normal wear and tear. Staff is friendly. Easy to access hotel from interstate. Breakfast has plenty of variety and food is kept at required temperature. Plenty of parking avaliable.

This BW is right off the interstate. If you are coming down for business or pleasure, it's very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just fine. The price was certainly right. You could see that the place was "tended to" - something I always appreciate.

Great location. Easiest access to Lincoln facilities. Clean facilities. Good breakfast. Menu changed each day and had a very good variety. Nice pool. The front desk was helpful when we were looking for a restaurant.

Arrived to find that our two nights reservation had been mysteriously cancelled an hour earlier. A couple of phone calls later and we were back in business. Great room with king size bed, loads of seating, usual amenities. Always find it weird when the sink is in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. Bathroom itself had a really good shower and refillable body wash and shampoo, something we didn't see very often on our trip, so top marks there. We took advantage of the lovely indoor pool. For breakfast there was some hot food but the worst and weakest coffee ever; dishwater would have been a kind description. Lovely attentive staff.

The room was very clean and had an extra couch for comfort. I was especially impressed with the shower pressure made it easy to shampoo your hair! I would recommend to my friends. Will definitely stay here again.

Clean, comfortable rooms, great staff. Personnel attentive and friendly. Many restaurants in the area. East to get on and off the highway. Breakfast was very good with many choices cold and hot, very nice hotel.

Ms. D. Patel is very professional and helpful. She went out of her way to enhance our 6 day stay by being very helpful, maintaining a very clean hotel, excellent customer service. She has a plentiful hot breakfast that is clean and very well stocked. Room, was clean and beds were very comfortable. Excellent service Ms. Patel is in charge and superior service.

rooms were nice and very clean..had a good selection for breakfast staff was friendly and bruce at front desk was very helpful when we asked for a map to president lincoln attractions..bruce gave us a map and highlighted the streets we needed to take and other attractions in the area..really appreciated his help..hope to be able to stay there again

the rooms were clean and the staff was nice and helpful. plenty of linens for our group. the parking was a little tight but nothing they can do about that. we had 2 trucks with 2 boats it was not their fault.

The beds and rooms were very comfortable. We were traveling with my elderly mother who was very happy to have a grab bar in the shower for safety! Very good breakfast, friendly staff. Would stay again!

I called a few hours prior to arriving to request a room that did not have pets recently. I'm highly allergic to dogs and dust mites. I've actually slept in hotel bathtubs to attempt to distance myself from the irritants that may send me to the ER if my symptoms start up. The receptionist politely shared with me that there was a dog show in Springfield going on, and there were lots of dogs! When we arrived she quickly moved our room to the top floor, farthest from the elevator, and no animals too close to our room. I survived sleeping the night away, for the most part! I realize that this move was not an easy fix, since we were staying a few nights and our room was reserved the second night. I thank you for your willingnesses to problem solve this issue, and we will forever retell this story! We were offered the option to move if needed, but the room was fine. The hotel was amazingly quiet in spite of the presence of dogs and many guests. The peaceful stay is partly because the building itself is not new, which has the benefit of far better sound insulation than newly built buildings. The location is nearby a busy road, yet there is open space behind it with singing birds galore. Our room was serviced with new towels and garbage removed daily, which we did not expect. The air system worked perfectly, and our bathtub was huge! Many thanks to the staff for your assistance and willingness to make changes when requested!

Checking in was quick and smooth. The evening staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and very clean. We stayed with two teenage boys and they didn't complain once and slept comfortably through the night and almost missed breakfast. Location is close to all the sights as well.

My family stayed at the Best Western Clearlake Plaza on a family vacation and despite a humble exterior, we had the best experience of our vacation there. Bruce at the front desk is amazing and all of the staff went out of their way to attend to our needs and requests. The pool is the best we've played in for years and was clean, warm, and a lot of fun. Our room beds were perfect firmness and everything from the TV to fridge, shower, and desk were great. Like some other hotels, the sink is outside of the bathroom, and the lights to the bathroom are on the outside, which lead to some pranks being pulled, but we loved our room and had a great night's stay. I'd definitely recommend it as an excellent stay and at a bargain price with quick access to the highway and downtown Springfield.

The hotel itself is older but well kept. We stayed in a 3 bed suite. Beds were comfortable. Since it was a suite we had two separate climate control units which was awesome, since we like to sleep with it a bit cooler. Plenty of towels which were fluffy and absorbent. The breakfast selection was good and tasty and had plenty of variety, However the star of the stay was the lady at the front desk. So pleasant and helpful.

Typical SureStay hotel with easy interstate access. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in a king room and it was quite spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Great WiFi. Breakfast was good with several hot options and several cold options. My only complaint was that the coffee is pretty weak. Several restaurants are with a block or two. We would stay again if passing thru the area.

This was an OK hotel very easy to access from the freeway, and also easy drive to attractions. Big room and was clean. Front desk lady was helpful. Breakfast was adequate. Pool was down but we wouldn't have used it anyway. Several restaurants within walking distance. Comfortable bed and linens. Would stay here again.

After a long day's drive it felt great to pull into a motel like this: inviting, clean, attractive spaces, comfortable, friendly staff and reasonably priced. It was easily access from the freeway and had plenty of free parking.

One night stop before finishing up trip to MN. Had our pug so needed a pet friendly hotel. Probably due to the proximity of attractions, I thought the hotel pricey for what you got and a $30 pet fee high. Clean hotel in and out. Green area to walk the dog. Nothing special but was only staying one night.

Beds were not queens, no parking, breakfast was inconvenience for staff, hotel staff was very rude at check in, odor was unreal in room, and definitely not clean in the hotel. I advise stay some place else

We stayed two nights. It was an easy drive to all the historic sites. Our room was quiet, but the AC had trouble keeping up as it was very hot outside. The breakfast was ok, the front desk people were very good. Very uncomfortable pillows! It worked for what we needed.

I stayed here the last night of a five week business trip, and it was one of the top three. From the clean parking lot and well-tended plantings to the warm welcome and attractive lobby, the arrival was a treat. My room was clean and comfortable and everything worked. While the breakfast offerings were smaller than I imagine they normally would be, due to COVID restrictions, things were laid out attractively and there was a reasonable selection. Other guests seemed to be enjoying the pool, and I saw one guest using the fitness center. I would gladly stay here again.

I travel for work and have stayed in over 20 hotels in the past six months. This was by far the best one I've stayed in. Front desk was superb and the room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. I would definitely stay again.

Just off of Int. 55. A smaller and traditional looking mid-price hotel. Greeting by Amy - receptionist - very friendly and professional. Made you feel welcomed. Small lobby. Everything was very clean. I got upgraded to a "suite" - room a bit larger - sofa-bed and a king-size bed. 2 televisions. They were analogue and not digital - so the reception was good but not great! Bed was a bit soft but comfortable. Very quiet. Took a short dip in the indoor poor - area very clean. Pool very nice. In the morning you ordered your choice of breakfast with the morning receptionist. She brought it out to you. I came at a rather busy time - so it took a few extra minutes. Excellent price. Great place to stay!

This is a great hotel. We were in town just for an overnight stay to watch daughter play golf. Room was clean quiet and modern. Check in was a breeze and staff set me up with the current Best Western rewards promotion I wasn't aware of...got me a $25 gift card!! She was very friendly. Hotel is right off interstate and easy to find. Pool area looked nice as did breakfast area, however we did use, time didn't permit. Overall very nice reasonably priced hotel great for quick stays.

We travel with our pet Terrier, Otto and finding a good quality pet friendly option is a challenge. The BW at Clearlake in Springfield, IL was clean, well kept, quiet and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed on our way to and back from WI for business. Amy at the front desk was especially kind and sorted things out when our booking from Hotels.com had an issue. Just a wonderful stay!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room had plenty of space and high ceilings. The tile in the bathroom looked cracked in some places and patched not quite as neat as it could be. Did not realize our room was right across from the elevator until later in the evening, but it was not that loud. Good place to stay and affordable.

We stored here on route to our vacation destination. The rate was great $80 total, for 3 adults. They have internet and free breakfast: cereal, fruit, pancakes and biscuits and gravy, enough to get us out the door. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The beds were very saggy, it was my husband and I in one bed... where we both went down hill to the middle. My son, in the other bed said he thinks his eyes closed once when he sneezed, lol, other than that he was awake. Im sure other rooms had better beds. The pillows were great, tv worked well and it was clean. I would stay again, but only for one night and not in that room. It was great for the price and our needs.

We stayed one night this week in this hotel. The room was extremely clean. The hotel lobby floors, et. al. seemed to shine. We felt quite comfortable at this hotel. The room was nice and the staff was friendly.

My first time staying at a motel in a couple of years and it was just right. I was in town to get a feel of town before my move later this summer. Clean room, friendly staff. I will be staying there my next visit to town.

My son needed to be at a local hospital at 6:45 am before breakfast availability. Personnel had a Grab and Go bag ready for me on the way out the door. Very thoughtful. I had stayed at this motel before and found it outstanding.

We paid like, 75$ for a king size room, which was comfortable and cozy with a couch, best room I stayed in I think. Everything smelled clean and there were soap dispensers on the walls in the shower for shampoo and body wash, which is awesome. I never feel clean enough with those little travel size containers most of the time, but having a dispenser was super nice.

We had a quick overnight stay. Everything was very clean and super nice help at the desk. Large king room (jkind of dated) had everything we needed to be comfortable. Even though the breakfast area was small, they had good choices (thanks for the vanilla non-sweetened almond milk!), eggs & mixings to make burritos, nice yogurt choices, and bananas! Well done!

I was attending an out-of-town conference and my plans to stay with family fell through at the 11th hour. I was fortunate to find a Best Western that had rooms available. I was impressed by the kindness and caring of the front desk staff both during check-in and check-out. They made me feel welcome and valued. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We have stayed at this hotel before. Always had a pleasant experience before. But NOT this time: first, pool was broken. Second, we weren't told before we arrived. Third, it's winter and we have kids with us. The POOL was the MAIN reason we stayed here again. Kids were so disappointed. We asked for any kind of refund (I asked for as little as $20 cash at one point just so I could go get my kids ice cream instead - nope); desk, hotel management, etc. did nothing. We had to call and call and call to get any kind of concession. We still only got "hotel credit", an obvious ploy to keep our money. But how can we trust this hotel or chain again?

Nice staff and decent breakfast. Room needs a new couch, but everything else ok. Easy access to the interstate and several restaurants nearby. As a diamond BW member was offered an upgraded room which was nice.

We ran into bad weather conditions on the trip back to St Louis so stopped here for the evening and glad we did. First of all, we had some problems using a free night voucher with Best Western but Bruce and Amy at the front desk were a great help and get things worked out. We also wanted to go see a few sights in Springfield while there and again Bruce and Amy were great help getting us set up. Upon check in we were given one of the updated rooms on the first floor which was set up like a suite with a sitting area and separate tv. The extra space worked out great as we dined in that night. Hotel was quiet, bed comfortable and we had a good night sleep. The breakfast was a step better then a lot of comparable hotels with stations for build your own breakfast biscuit, egg sandwiches, and more. These is a pool at this location but we did not have suits with us and did not use. All in all, a great night stay, made better by the very helpful staff.

The Best Western Clearlake Plaza was a perfect place to stay. From the clerk greeting me at the front desk to the checkout the next morning, everything was great. As a member of the Best Western Rewards program, I was given an upgrade to a suite, offered a choice of a snack pack or points and given 2 bottles of water. The hotel was very quiet and nicely appointed. The room was comfortable and clean. The indoor pool looked very inviting. The hotel was also located at an interchange with access to I-55. I would stay there again.

Decent enough motel. Very dark when we pulled up and we were not sure we were at the door, but the lobby was pleasant. Rooms were comfortable enough. Good location for getting into the sites in Springfield - basically a straight drive down Clear Lake to get downtown. Breakfast was very good. This place isn't going to blow you away, but you won't hate it either. The pool was drained, which didn't matter to us, but if you are counting on it, call before reserving.

Perfect spot when traveling I55. Small hotel, easy to find, friendly staff, nice indoor pool area and exercise room and it was clean and more eco-friendly than most hotels. Will definitely stay here again.

Near I-55 but very quiet in the property, the staff are wonderfully pleasant and helpful, the property clean and update. Not far from business/tourism in Springfield. More eateries nearby with a little research.

In town for a wedding. Hotel handed out wedding gift bags to those staying. Staff was very helpful. We decided to play cards late in the evening and the lady at the desk repeatedly asked us if we needed something and also carried on a conversation about the wedding we were attending. Went out of her way to make our stay exceptional. Room were very comfortable and clean. Great stay and staff.

If you are planning to use the pool at this hotel, I would look elsewhere. It is freezing! Called the front desk and asked if they could adjust the temperature of the water. I was told they could not because it was “regulated“. Disappointing since most of the hotels around here have pools and I've stayed in others that are very comfortable. I wish we had stayed somewhere we could enjoy!

Everything was so clean and comfortable! The beds were amazing. There were 6 of us and we stayed in the suite. The building is older and you can tell. But everything was very clean, the breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, pastries, etc. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Especially Amy, she was always quick with a smile and to make sure we had everything we needed.

One night stay in Springfield Il. This property is conveniently located at I55 and I72. The King room was clean and comfortable. The standard BW breakfast in the lobby was well organized and well stocked but seating was limited.

Nice place to stay, excellent breakfast selection, glad they had choices for those who need them, everyone can feel included then. That is important to me. We were close to both food and fuel so that was handy.

Stayed for two nights. Had two rooms. Our room smelled a little like stale cigarette smoke when we first got in (not like someone had been smoking in there more like a smoker had been hanging out in there) but it disappeared fairly quickly after we turned on the AC and went out for dinner. Rooms were comfortable with microwave and mini fridge. Indoor pool area was very clean with lots of pool towels. Breakfast area was clean with a fair amount of seating. Breakfast itself was fine and what you'd expect from a hotel breakfast (eggs, waffles, bacon, pastries, cereal). Staff was super friendly and helpful and gave great food recommendations.

The room was nice and big. The bed was very confortable. Breakfast was okay but not special. Only complaint was with stained extra blanket. They should pay more attention to these type of things. We saw It late at night so we didn't say anything about It.

What a lovely meticulous Best Western. The whole hotel was immaculate and the rooms were well designed. The breakfast was good too. Located just outside off 72, great choice. Small area to walk dogs, but sufficient- they also allow dogs for a fee too.

Stayed in the suite and had a great time. Three queen beds and a living room. Was great for the family. Had two tv's so the game was on in the living room and the other tv was kids shows. Breakfast was convenient.

This is a well run, clean, friendly motel . . . I had no issues and the staff was great! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was to usual fare but well presented and fresh. I would recommend this Best Western.

This was a nice Best Western. We are BW Members so we got an upgrade to a King Suite. The check in was slow due to computer problems. The only ice machine was on the first floor.Terry was the check in clerk and he initiated the bonus 500 points. They do have a noisy exercise room but it was near the lobby.

This hotel was inexpensive the night we stayed, but was as nice as many more expensive places we have stayed. Our room was clean and everything worked. The decor of our room was slightly dated, but we really liked the bath arrangement with the sink outside the tub/toilet area. The desk clerk was efficient and friendly. She gave us a map and recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The location is good— it was easy to back on the freeway. We would stay here again.

Easy to find, nice staff. Check in at 2am was so nice after traveling for so long. Vending machines need work. Wouldn't take dollar Bill's. Hit cherry coke got Sprite. Shower was hot, and had good pressure. Beds very comfortable.

Very clean and nice spacious rooms. Bathroom was great with sink outside of the shower area which we like. Beds were comfy and the Breakfast was outstanding. Would definately be back again. The only thing that could be improved is the check in. Was there at 3PM and the clerk was very confused and kept apologizing that he was behind. Took longer than it should

Last night in a hotel on our almost 2 week trip. The desk clerk was very professional. The hotel appears to have had recent upgrades/renovations. Very well done; sometimes you look at renovations and wonder who they hired. The building was very quiet, considering the parking lot was full. The pool was very nice, temps about perfect, not chlorinated enough to blind you. My only complaint is the breakfast; the area is too tight, difficulty moving around. Tables were set in the main entrance and hallway; not the best for ambiance or traffic flow. The hotel was easy to find, great access to the interstate and short drive down town. I didn't notice anything about this area that would make it seem any less safe than other hotels near interstates and on the edge of a city (prior review).

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Clearlake during our recent visit to Springfield, and we were extremely pleased with our stay. First of all, kudos to Amy at the front desk for being so friendly and helpful! When we checked in, she accessed my Best Western Rewards account and was able to give us a free upgrade to a suite as well as 500 bonus points. She was on duty each successive day of our stay, and in addition to the front desk, she kept the breakfast area clean, organized, and well-stocked. She was cheerful and greeted every guest with a smile; what a great way to start the day! Our room was spacious and clean, with a king-size bed and a waist-high counter that separated the bed area from the sitting area. Each area had a TV which helped when one of us wanted to sleep while the other stayed up. The European model bathroom was also very useful, as the vanity area was separate from the toilet and shower/bathtub combination. The entire hotel was very quiet; although we saw several large families check in during our stay, and although the property sits very near major roads, we never heard any noise. My husband thought the bed was very comfortable but I found the mattress far too soft. (Since a king-size bed has two mattresses, it may simply have been a difference in the mattresses themselves.) The exercise room has a free-weight station, a stationary bicycle, and a treadmill. The indoor pool was a nice size for easy lap swimming, very clean and a great temperature, and I used it almost daily during our visit. The staff was even kind enough to open it up a little early to allow me to fit in a morning swim on our day of departure! During our visit, we noticed several unobtrusive visits by maintenance personnel, which told us that the hotel staff is interested in keeping the property in good repair and addressing minor problems as they occur. The hotel offers an expanded continental breakfast, which was suitable for our needs. There are some hot items (eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, waffles) in addition to the usual cereals, breads, fruit, coffee and juices. The property is very conveniently located with easy access to I-55, and right on the road that leads to downtown Springfield and its many attractions. The Lincoln Museum, Library, and home, as well as many fine restaurants, are all within a 10-minute drive. Despite its location near the roadways, we felt very safe and secure during our entire visit. Staying at the Best Western Clearlake was a treat, and we'll definitely stop here again on our next visit to Abe Lincoln's hometown!

All the staff were professional, polite and cared about your every need. Check-in and out very quick, price point excellent for quality of services. Cleanliness was on point as were the maid staff. Breakfast was excellent food items and variety was on point just need a more private area for the breakfast.

Honestly for the price this was a great experience. Amy at the front desk was exceptional! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND anything expected. We did not have a reservation but she got us the exact room we needed. Room was clean and breakfast was great!

We stopped off here en route from Kansas to Chicago. I read the reviews and decided to book. I will say the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, I knew nothing about Springfield and this location attracts some seedy people. I would not return with my family. Possibly ok for a quick night stop off but didn't feel very safe. At 3:45 am we were awakened to a prolonged knock on our door. When I looked out the peep hole a man who appeared to be up to no good was swaying outside my door. After less than a minute he was gone. When we told the hotel staff they said they had not seen anyone, but acted like this may not be the first time something like this had happened.

We stayed at the Clearlake Best Western after our first full day driving Route 66. The motel is very conviently located and set back so it was perty quite. The staff was wonderful and we had a great large King sweet which was very nice. We did not have any problems as the motel seamed well taken care of and everything worked, the bed was comfortable with a coutch and desk. The WiFi was good and consistant, parking was good. The breakfast was really good with more selections than most and nice quality. We were very happy with our stay. As a platnum member I have seen a few BW's and this is very well managed. I prefer to see more effort in recycling but not a big deal.

Nice place - SUPER STAFF! Very friendly, polite, and professional! I didn't use the pool, but lots of people seemed to enjoy it. The fitness center was a great amenity. Rooms could use some updates and smelled a bit musty, but other than that it was a great stay.

We arrived early and the clerk on the desk welcomed us and said our room was ready we were updated to a suite as we are Platinum members at Best Western. He reccommened a place for lunch. There were a group of Junior Farmers of America staying there too, very nice kids, polite and well behaved, nice to see young people with a positive attitude

Stayed at this hotel having arrived at Chicago O'Hare airport, a three hour drive. Ample parking spacious room, WiFi, coffee making facilities and loads of towels. Not much in the way of eateries, McDonald's and Subway within walking distance. Walgreens drug store adjacent. A ten minute drive takes you to Springfield which hosts the Lincoln Museum, well worth a visit. Good breakfast selection and helpful, friendly staff. Impressed with our first American hotel.

I had a problem with the cleanliness of the A/C unit in my room. I could move to another room. The size of the room and of the bathroom was good. The desk was small. The breakfast is excellent, much better than expected. However, a negative was the wifi signal. The signal was very weak and it took a very long time to log in to the hotel network. The TV signal is analogue. Overall I liked my stay. If possible, I would have scored this hotel 3.5 out of 5.

We spent two nights here and it was worth it. It is close to all the historic sites and the interstate. The breakfast was very delicious as well. The beds were beyond comfortable and made for a good night of sleeping after a day of sightseeing.

Clean comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable had a king room with a pull out couch. Breakfast was pretty good for a hotel bacon egg home fried potatoes. For the large vehicle travelers the parking is very limited

I was checking into the hotel and the guy was very clueless on helping me get checked in. I was wanting to upgrade me room to a double room and he proceed to tell me there was no way in doing so. He did not state I could cancel my reservation and book another room. Also when he was checking me in he was acting like I was an inconvenience because there were other customers showing up and he did not have his room keys made.

Let me start with saying that we have been staying there for several years for our trips between Texas and Illinois. We have always been satisfied. This time however has us reconsidering staying again. It took a long time to get hot water. The water pressure was low at best. The soap in the shower was poor when you could get it out of the dispenser. The breakfast was horrible. Rubber microwave eggs. Half cooked bacon and the toaster did not work! Otherwise it seemed to be clean? Please bring back our old Best Western!!!

The customer service here was outstanding. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I only gave them a 4 because for breakfast they advertised breakfast burrito's but never had scrambled eggs to go in it. The price was a good deal and we really enjoyed the pool also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Clearlake Plaza is a wonderful hotel at a great price. The rooms and the lobby/breakfast area were very clean. All the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Easy access to the highway. Would definitely stay here again and recommend Clearlake Plaza to others.

We stayed there only one night and it was not the best. 1. when we checked in we told the desk clerk that we were going to cancel our 2nd nights stay and that we would only stay just the one night. He told us that he was going to charge us for both nights and we could just talk to someone in the morning. WHAT?? Now we would have to wait for a credit for that 2nd night. 2. the room had a bad musty odor 3. one of the shampoo dispensers had fallen off the wall and was laying in the bathtub 4. carpet had not been vacuumed 5. the only ice machine was broken 6. there were some "stink bugs" flying around the lamp on the desk..when I called the front desk to let them know they did apologize and offered us another room but who wants to move when it is 11:00pm and you are in bed after a long day? 7. room really needs to be updated

Great value for the money. The place is clean, the room was large and clean. Hot breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausage, plus french toast. The only minor issue is that the HVAC unit in our room was kind of noisy, but that is probably common with that type of unit. We slept thru it, so it wasn't that bad.If you like burgers, be sure to try Freddy's - just a block away.

We have never traveled much with our kids because it is expensive to stay in hotels with so many kids. We were able to get a three bed suite with an entire living area. Every kid got their own bed! The price was less than we have ever paid for smaller rooms. We WILL recommend this property in the future. Thank you for thinking of large families with your room selection.

My wife and I stayed at this Best Western on our way to Chicago for the holidays. We were amazed at the very low AAA/seniors rate. The accommodations were comfortable enough for a one-night stay. The workout machines didn't function well, but all facilities were clean and well maintained. The free breakfast was a cut above most other free hotel breakfasts we've had, and the front counter service was friendly and prompt. It would be difficult to beat the easy-on/easy-off convenience to the 55. This was a very convenient, comfortable enough hotel stop, which we'll keep in mind for future trips.

We've been staying at Best Western Hotel for the last few years. This by far was our best experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated . The price was right and the location to Springfield was convenient.

I stayed at this hotel during four days of dog shows. Checking in was efficient. The desk clerk on duty was very friendly, and helpful about giving us information about exercising our dogs. The room was huge and very clean. In fact, this was probably one of the cleanest hotel bathrooms I have encountered. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, complete with eggs, sausage, and bacon, as well as the usual breakfast fare of pastries, cereals, and yogurt. This was a safe hotel located in a safe area, with no questionable characters hanging out in the parking lot. I did not feel apprehensive taking the dogs out after dark. I also loved the proximity to a variety of reasonably priced eating areas.

As leisure travelers, we spend between 60-70 nights annually in Best Western hotels around the US, so have a wealth of experience by which to make our assessment. In all that travel, this property ranks at the very top in all categories, especially the most important one: customer service. The staff is outstanding and looked to assure our comfort and satisfaction at every turn. The property is conveniently located near the interstate exit with shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions close-by. Rooms are spacious and quiet with plenty of hot water and drains that work as designed-- no ankle-deep water in the shower from a clogged drain ! The beds are very comfortable, soft but not too soft. Breakfast is very good with hot and cold offerings and an expected variety to satisfy all but the most picky eaters. The breakfast seating area is adequate, bright and comfortable. Prices are reasonable and this property provides good value. The highest recommendation anyone can give is to say that they'd stay there again...and I would without any hesitation. Give it a try.

We stayed at this Best Western for a quick overnight concert trip. It's not a large hotel, but very cozy and comfortable. The lobby area was very clean, fresh, and bright. The room was also clean and nicely appointed with comfortable beds (which it seems to me is rare when I stay in hotels anymore). There was also a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful.

We stopped by without a reservation on our way to Missouri. We were quickly helped and given a great room. Nice amenities, especially the breakfast. Great location-right next to freeway and other places, especially gas, nearby.

Best western Springfield Clearlake PROS- Located just of interstate 55 this easy access location is near competitive gas stations, a variety of fast food joints and pizza parlors. It is far enough away to not be disturbed by truck brakes or car horns. You are only 2 miles from downtown Springfield and all the Lincoln attractions. The facility sports an in-door pool but no hot tub. It has an exercise room. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The clientele was retired folks, utility workers and travelers as school was in session and no kids in September. The room was spacious, the bed super comfortable and the blankets very plush. The pillows were numerous (4) to a bed but small. A tv and frig with a small freezer compartment was adequate for our three day stay. The breakfast was well stocked with fresh fruit including bananas which most hotels put out only 3. Always got one! Yeah! Food was precooked i.e. pancakes and over easy eggs cooked, bacon, sausage patties in ample supply. The usual juice drink and coffee machines, dry cereals, milk and yogurt. Toaster for bread and a variety of donuts and pastries. Never left wanting more. Couches and tables for dining. Finally a shower with a messaging head with enough water pressure to actually work! I'd say only 1 in 10 of these work. This one did! Yeah! Soap dispensers mounted on shower wall. TV and free WiFi worked very well. CONS- What the shower had in pressure the sink pressure paid the price. Faucet flow on my 12 volt boat water pump was better. Had to wait for hot water to get up to temp. Why? The shower curtain featured one of those bent rails meant to hold the curtain out to give you more room. Unfortunately someone pulled it down and the curtain drooped to the center allowing water spray to escape near the shower head. Maintenance should have caught that. The towels were two type. One was fluffy and absorbent...the other were white loofahs capable of paint removal if so desired. Why? Same for pool towels and yet I found one each had a yellow stain on it before use, so look first. All the parking is on one side of the building. Several nights utility trucks with trailers took up several spots. A a full house could be problematic. Can not see car from half the rooms. As the sunlight hit the pool water in the afternoon, couldn't avoid seeing small particulates floating in water one per cubic inch. Wondered if filter was running properly? Small things but nonetheless there. Summary: One of the better Best Westerns I've visited. Best breakfast. Best bed. Best shower head is what I'll remember. Would I go back? In a heart beat.

The WiFi was unpredictable, which was very frustrating. The breakfast area was very small and menu so-so. It is convenient to Springfield Lincoln attractions but that's about all it had going for it. It definitely could be refreshed.

I've stayed here twice now, in August 2013 and July 2018. both times the motel provided excellent service and value for money. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfy, this motel is in a great location handy to the local K Mart and several places to eat. Well worth the cost, I'd stay there again.

We visited Springfield for 3 nights, staying at this hotel, with our only purpose to see the Lincoln attractions. Clearlake Plaza is a comfortable, clean and quiet hotel which we enjoyed very much. The room was large, high ceilings, good ventilation, very helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate except for the eggs - yuk. We had our small dog with us and the staff made her quite welcome, too! The only negative for us was too-tall grass to walk her. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Good location relative to the downtown historic district. Competitive price. Decent hot breakfast. However, the property is wedged between the freeway and the back of a gas station, the room had poor lighting, worn carpet, broken cove tiles and so-so mattresses. Very limited eating choices in the immediate vicinity. More commercial than retail properties nearby.

Not a bad stay, quiet room, wish it had a better TV Channel selection, no waffles on the breakfast bar, which is usually a BW staple. Would stay again if I visited Springfield, was good that breakfast was served until 0930.

It is an older motel, but everything worked, was clean and was comfortable. It allows pets and is inexpensive. Just off of the intwrstate and just what we wanted. Only complaint: the grass was a bit high to walk the dog.

The hotel was clean and looks like recently updated. We enjoyed the indoor pool. The breakfast was fine. Also very convenient to many restaurants. Would stay there again. They were very accommodating went on the second day we ask for a rollaway cot.

The most important thing to me is the rooms are clean! Staff is friendly! Breakfast was free! We choose to stay at Best Westerns bc of the consistency. These are not 5 star hotel chains they are 2 star and are priced accordingly. We were very happy for the price and consider it a value. The pool was indoors and big, we planned to use it but the kids acted out during breakfast so we too that away. It looked nice and clean. We stayed on the first floor and the ceilings were very high. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. One negative was the a/c worked fine but was very outdated. So it ran all night there was no thermostat controll. It got very cold and I had to get up in the middle of the night and adjust the dials. We utilized all the amenities including the fridge. Everything worked and it was quiet. Will stay again if in the area.

Stayed here for the 2nd time. Both visits were wonderful! The rooms are clean as is the pool. Kids had a fun time swimming. Hotel was busy but you never heard the neighbors. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Stayed here for a night heading South. Friendly Staff, clean and quiet. It has an indoor pool which looked inviting and breakfast was a small setup in Reception. The gentleman behind the counter gave us directions to a local seafood restaurant which we went too and his advice was great. Would recommend to anyone.

We had three nights here during a driving holiday in the US. It was convenient to the Interstate and we got a good rate. Bed was comfy, room was clean, complementary breakfast was fine. Convenient to visit Lincoln sites in town. Only negative point was limited choice of eating places nearby but plenty further down Interstate or in town. Staff pleasant and we had a good stay.

Hotel seemed a little dated but was decent. The check-in staff was fun and in good spirits even though they were having a bit of computer glitch going on. Breakfast was adequate but certainly nothing to be excited about. Didn't try the pool but there were several swimming and it looked clean. Wasn't located in the best of spots but food and other stuff was a quick ride away.

Nice establishment - slightly dated decor in the room we were in but I do not really care about that. Price was slightly high. Good breakfast - breakfast area slightly small - layout allowed for traffic jams!

I was only in town for the night in a business trip, so I only worked with Amy at the front desk. Let me tell you - she was so accommodating and professional. She went above and beyond to make sure my stay meet all expectations. She was holding doors for guests as the were departing, helping an elderly customer with his luggage. She made sure to let me know she was always available to contact if I needed anything. I wish every hotel front desk had an Amy! Plus the rooms are spacious and very clean.

We stayed at this Best Western while I was in Springfield for a speaking engagement after which we were traveling on to Kentucky for a spring break vacation. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast included eggs, sausage and bacon in addition to the usual fare, and staff was helpful in giving directions to the movie theatre my family wanted to go to while I was at my speaking engagement. It is also convenient to the President Lincoln and other attractions in Springfield. I highly recommend it!

The room was clean and quiet. The pool was well-maintained. The staff was kind and helpful. The morning breakfast was ample and tasty. The location was superb- close to the Lincoln historic sites we wished to see and close to eating establishments. Overall, the value was tremendous. I would recommend the motel to anyone!

it's a great value budget hotel and recently we basically took the place over for 2-3 nights with 30 rooms or so booked for a funeral. they were very very accommodating to us - letting us use the lobby as a "central point" to meet and gather, kept the towels coming while the kids went to the pool area, and made sure there was plenty of breakfast, and cleaned our rooms based on our schedule. they even let us bring dogs, one of the few places in springfield to allow dogs in the hotel. the staff was friendly and made sure we were comfortable. we thank them and if life brings us back to springfield, we'd definitely stay again. i recommend you look them up, too.

We stayed here on our travels across the US. It was a wonderful room with an extremely comfortable bed. The service was cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and we will stop here again on our travels.

I am a big fan of the Best Western chain of hotels. I have stayed in them in a few cities and rarely have any serious complaints. Most of the things I have issues with are either handled promptly or petty. The breakfast is typically good, which occasional hiccups in availability. The water is usually hot, again...occasional hiccups due to the volume of guests using it at the same time. I have never had any complaints about cleanliness. Amenities are readily available, and the points program is very useful.

We recently stayed for a hockey tournament for our kids and one of the parents selected the hotel. We really thought the staff was professional and the rooms were clean and the kids had a great time at the pool. Breakfast included in the room rate was a big plus as well. Would stay there again.

Clean, well appointed rooms. We were upgraded to a suite which was so roomy! Refrig with freezer and microwave. Good lighting with table lamps that have built in outlets that make charging electronics a breeze. Excellent internet. Very helpful front desk staff, lovely pool.

This hotel is nice, clean, comfortable, and affordable. It was close to restaurants and less than 10 minutes away from the downtown attractions. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Don't be fooled by the plain-looking building. This is a clean motel, with spacious room. We had a 3-beds-in-one-room suite. It was clean and spacious. The breakfast is more than just Continental coffee and donuts, as advertised. Eggs, good bacon and sausage. Variety of breadstuff, cereal, yogurt & toppings. Friendly.

Excellent place to spend the night, right off the interstate but still quiet in the rooms.. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have liked a few more HBO/Showtime options on TV. They have BACON on the breakfast buffet.

Perfect hotel for a family get together. Needed a central location to meet for family birthday celebrations and Springfield was it. This Best Western hotel was not only perfect but was also close to the attractions and restaurants we wanted to visit. Pool was nice and the breakfast was good. If you are heading to Springfield for either business or pleasure, this is the hotel for you.

First, the location is great: right off the highway, near a gas station, and only minutes from the downtown historic district. Amy at the reception desk was very helpful in recommending places to eat and how to get downtown. The room was clean and quiet. There's an indoor pool, a tiny exercise room, and a decent breakfast. All in all, a very nice stay.

I come to Springfield on business a few times a year and always stay here. It is quiet, clean and I love the pool. I can always get a lot of work accomplished and a good night's sleep. It is also not far from the Capitol building.

I picked this BW hotel based on the high rating via TripAdvisor and now I am giving them a high rating to show my satisfaction. Friendly staffs, clean & quiet room with all electronics you need (big flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee maker) and internet service. I have another trip in Detroit, MI next week and have booked with another BW hotel for another comfortable stay for my business trip.

The service at this hotel was great! they took care of everything that we need Even though they were pretty full that night they still made sure we had everything that was needed to make us comfortable for the night. Thank you again for everything. We will stay again when we are in the area to visit family.

We had to stop for the night and we're delighted with the location. Close enough to the interstate to get in and out quickly but far away enough to be quiet. Good food close by and other features made this an ideal location. And the beds? Sooo comfy!

This is a nice hotel, well located and a good value. We stay here whenever we visit Springfield and have always been pleased with our stay. They go out of their way to make you comfortable. We will continue to make this our hotel of choice. Also like most BW hotels we stay.

Friendly staff here but this hotel is not in a very nice area of Springfield My room was ok but had a old cigarette odor to it and it was their only room. They have a decent breakfast in the morning If you can afford something nicer I would recommend it

Right off the bat, Amy, the front desk clerk took very good care of us. Her friendliness and effort really improved our stay. Our room was nice and the bed was comfy. Breakfast the next morning was very good, as well.

Amy gave us a wonderful greeting and put us in our preferred/requested room. Very efficient. Offered information and pleasantly answered questions. We liked the high ceiling on out first floor room. Very spacious, quiet, clean and fresh room. Breakfast was very good. Excellent value at an extremely reasonable price.

Rooms were clean and odor free. all amenities were excellent except for the breakfast. It was not a full breakfast as advertised. Really not even a decent looking continental breakfast, We chose not to eat there as food did not edible.

Exactly what we wanted, a clean, quiet hotel. Convenient for our needs. This was the third hotel we stayed in on our week long trip through Illinois and it was the nicest room. The sitting area was much appreciated. We would stay here again.

This hotel was very accommodating when I made my reservation for the wrong night. The pool very large but no hot tub. The breakfast area was not very large but the choices were very good, great breakfast. Room was clean.

Good hotel. Clean but basic. Breakfast is above average continental. Indoor pool. Limited exercise room. No shuttle. Free parking. Just outside of town by the highway. Uber is available. Lincoln Museum and downtown minutes away.

This is a nice hotel if your need is a good night sleep. It is a simple straight forward place. The staff is very nice, and the hotel is very clean. The markup on the nightly rate during state fair was excessive, but otherwise it's a nice hotel.

Pool was warm enough to stay in about an hour before you had to get out and warm up. Not in the heart of things but with a gps a quick and easy 2.5 mile trip. Gas station right next door was handy. Also Kmart and a Walgreens close. Other than that car dealerships and a few fast food places. Nothing in walking distance. A small hotel with easy hotel access and close parking.

Beds were comfortable. Main complaint was that air conditioner was leaking. They attempted to fix it but did not do a good job. Carpeting was wet and smelly. Had to step on a wet carpet when we got out of bed. Staff did not communicate their efforts to us until I complained

The outside of the hotel is a little run down and unkempt when driving up to it. There are no automatic doors, which make it a bit of a struggle to get inside while loaded down with luggage. The front desk person was very, very nice and welcoming, no complaints about that. The room was slightly dated with maroon colored comforters instead of the usual white that you see in most places. Room was clean and quiet and a great deal for the price and location. Within a few minutes drive of all of the Lincoln related museums downtown.

Price was good for available opportunities to all things Lincoln. We found it a great location to be close enough to downtown and good access for points in all directions for continued travel. Would definitely stay again and recommend

I have stayed at this hotel in Wisconsin Dells several times over the past 13 years. I am so sorry to say that I enjoyed my stay on July 9 and 10, 2017, the least. I think you may have gotten too big. I always enjoyed your pleasant staff and the whole relaxed atmosphere. During this visit your staff seemed so much more stressed. The breakfast was good, as usual, but the breakfast tables were constantly dirty, the garbages were over flowing and the food items were empty a lot. Your employees were working so hard but they could not keep up with so many people. There was long lines at each of the stations. I had to wait forever just to get a bagel and coffee. Then the tables were so close together that everyone was bumping into tables and chairs trying to get to a table. The room cleaning staff were polite as in the past but again there was a stress that I had not seen previously. One nice staff member said she had too much to do when my disabled adult daughter asked her about her job. The toilet in our room flushed slowly and then stopped flushing completely on our last morning. Maintenance staff fixed it quickly but it almost felt like the hotel plumbing couldn't handle all the water running through it. Then my husband searched everywhere for a cart to take our luggage out. He could not find any. I called the front desk to be told that people put them in their rooms. She was nice and polite to me but there was no solution to our problem except to just carry all of our bags down to the car. Have you thought of some kind of annoying beeper so no one would want them in their room? If you are not going to do something like that then you should either have one for each room or hire someone to carry bags in and out. It's not right to expect older guests to make several trips from the second floor to the car with luggage. It was hot and humid and we left exhausted and sweaty from carrying bags. I am not stupid and I know the point is to make money I just wish that being big and having lots of full rooms was as important as a relaxed hotel with staff treated well or more staff so there was not more to do then could possibly be done.

My husband and I spent three nights here in a very comfortable clean room. Everything worked well. It was nicely decorated. The staff at the reception desk were extremely helpful and friendly. They were all quite willing to direct us to restaurants and tourist attractions. They have a nice, clean indoor pool which my husband enjoyed. The breakfast was good, compared with other similar establishments. They do need a little more seating there, though. It becomes quite crowded after 8:00 a.m. and some guests have no place to sit. It's a little farther from most of the restaurants and tourist attractions in town than the other hotels, but the lower price makes a little extra driving worth it. Since the hotel has a "no parties" policy you are likely to get a good night's sleep.

We spent a couple of days here on our way to and from visiting relatives in Kentucky. Very nice, very clean, and the staff where very helpful. When we checked in Amy behind the desk suggested a few different places to eat. All where good recommendations. Rooms where neat and clean, good selections for breakfast.

We stayed here for three nights while we visited Springfield and we would stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices available. We especially enjoyed the selection of food that can be added to yogurt such as granola, coconut, etc. Everyone who helped us was friendly and professional. This hotel is a short drive from the historic center of Springfield where many of the Abraham Lincoln attractions are located.

This hotel has a feeling of an inn and the warmth to go with it! From the front desk, to the breakfast area, to the housekeeper, all did a WONDERFUL job! The hotel is very easy access to the highway and close to both the Springfield historic district as well as to New Salem.

From the moment we checked in until we left, the staff at the desk, at breakfast and in housekeeping were so friendly and helpful. They offered helpful suggestions for our stay, checked back to see how things went and so on. Every housekeeper greeted us - never had that happen anywhere else. For business, I have stayed in 7 other hotels in Springfield - this was by far the best. Only place I will stay there in the future.

Staff was extremely helpful and nice all the time. There were no issues with the internet service. And the pool was just what we needed after a long day out in the sun. We enjoyed the quietness of the rooms and easy access to local restaurants.

We were checking in and I asked where the nearest grocery store was, as I figured I would need to buy some Gluten-Free food to eat in the morning. She showed me that they already offer GF food for breakfast, Cheerios and Cinnamon Chex! Very cool! Plus I believe they had all the ingredients listed for the other food they offer for breakfast too. The only down side was that the bed was too hard for our liking. But I loved the soap dispensers instead of the bars. Really great room!

Staff at check-in was friendly. Staff at check-out seems busy taking care of breakfast and other things so did not have interaction with him. At breakfast, the hotel offered eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, yogurt and cereals. Overall, this hotel is a good place to stay.

Midwestern hospitality. Ideally located near the highway but close to all the Lincoln sites. Helpful knowledge staff. BACON for breakfast!!! Quiet room. BACON! Do not miss the Lincoln Museum's holographic presentation. Try Maid Rite for lunch. Historic site that serves loose meat sandwiches and home made root beer. Check the hours as they close early.

This was a very nice hotel located outside of the downtown but very close to attractions and restaurants. Staff were outstanding and very helpful and giving directions and suggestions for restaurants in the area.

The woman checking us in was really nice. It was like talking to an old friend. Will definitely be staying there again if I'm ever in that area. The rooms are nice and clean and the pool is a nice size. There is a kmart and Walgreens very close by which is cool to have in case you forgot to bring something.

We were beginning a Route 66 trip, and the desk clerk was very informative about previous travelers. We were also doing the tourist thing in the city and we were given information about what, where and suggestions with the site

Comfortable, clean, friendly with great breakfast. They even had almond milk for my breakfast cereal. That's a first and a welcome alternative to dairy. Well priced, too. Easy drive to the Lincoln Museum and home.

The staff along with Mr. Bruce Riley were just outstanding. I was offered an upgrade to a suite when checking in. Hard to find people that go out of there way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Mr. Riley is very knowledgeable about Springfield and Route66. Any motor head can get info on upcoming car shows in and around Springfield. Hotel is just off I-72 exit and close to shopping and restaurants. Definitely will stop here again when cruising Route66.

This is an average hotel. It was very clean. I thought it was interesting that they had soap dispensers in the shower and the sink area. They presented my complete Bill at check in. It was located in a good are for going to local attractions. It had a very basic breakfast. It did not have waffles which i thought all Best Westerns had. Don't expect to have a large group in the breakfas area

Other reviews mention how easy it is to find, but we missed the exit several times. One sign said take 92A and that put us on 6th street. Went 3 miles and realised we were not where we should be. Got on Highway again headed wrong direction. After calling the Hotel, we finally arrived 30 minutes later. The stay was good. I slept all night and didn't get up once! That's a record for me! Comfy bed and pillows. As mentioned, breakfast eating area accommodates about 10 people. Egg "patties" what are they? Limited choices. There is French toast, tiny cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage and cereals, yogurt. Only one copy of the newspaper, is the desk copy. Overall, it is a clean, small, not busy place to stay. Would stay again.

Travelling to Chicago, we found this hotel easily just off the insterstate. When we opened our room door there was a faint smell of cigarette smoke - this was a no smoking room and we do not smoke. We reported it to reception as we did not want to be charged for smoking in the room (and we have not been). Other than this the room was clean, the bed comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. Amy in reception was very helpful and directed us to find Abraham Lincoln's house which is a few minutes drive away.

Breakfast is a delight with French Toast and Cinamon Rolls. The hotel is right off the Interstate and has easy access. Parking is close to the door. The motel has a pool but no Spa. The rooms are large and comfortable. Quick check in and quick out.

We stayed here during October 2016, as part of our Route 66 adventure. The hotel was easily found, just off I-55, close to restaurants and shops. Everything was very clean and tidy. There was an indoor pool too, although we didn't use it. The room (203) was fully equipped, including sofa and HD TV. A complimentary breakfast was served in the lobby area the following morning. Although close to I-55, the hotel was very quiet. A great hotel during our short stay.

This is a small but very clean and comfortable place to stay. It may be the quietest place we have ever stayed. Breakfast was good and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. It was easy to get to and close to most of the Lincoln attractions.

There's nothing stunning nor really bad about this hotel. It is located on the far Eastern edge of Springfield which was very handy for us. We had a king suite and there was plenty of room and the bed was OK but the room and the hotel is very dated and in need of some TLC. Breakfast is average with french toast or an egg and cheese "omelet" and sausage patty and bacon along with the usual pastries. Staff was nice enough but the hotel just lacked a bit of luster. One downer for us was that the phone rang twice before 7 am and there was noone on the other end.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that we got a free upgrade to a King Bed Suite and that was great. The room was nice but the couch in the room sunk from the outside to the middle and was not real comfortable. The AC was also not fantastic, it worked hard to keep our room at our desired temp we were thankful that we were not there on a real warm night. The bed was great and it had a nice pool and fitness room. I did use the fitness room one day and was happy it was there.

This is an older, basic property: however, the staff and service was excellent. The facility is taken care of very well. You can tell they take pride in the property and their service, and I appreciate and value that as much as anything. Only negative is the bed was little old and uncomfortable.

good location (don't trust WAZE for directions) clean, quiet, close to Lincoln "stuff". typical breakfast but close (walk) to starbucks, kmart and hardees Shell gas. right off the highway. The road in front, goes between the Lincoln museum and the Lincoln library.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Springfield for business or pleasure. The staff was outstanding and the bed was very comfy!! The pool was great, but no hot tub. Very close to downtown. Would highly recommend

Facility has been upgraded and everything is very nice. Bed is super comfy. Rooms are clean and pleasant smelling. Enjoyed our stay and will stay here again when passing through. Highly recommend this place. Good job Best Western!!!

Travel agency booked this hotel for us during our route66 trip. Did not like the room or its maintenance. Door was not possible to loock and the maintenance was poor! Hopefully the owner will take adwise and repair this. Our feedback to the travel agency in Norway is clear.

Took 3 Grandkids on tour of the Capitol and found our way to all the Lincoln Exhibits. Location could not have been better. Very comfy beds and great swimming pool and to top it off, wonderful great breakfast for the family. Plenty of choices.

I stay at Best Western's almost exclusively when I travel, so I have developed a pretty good feel for what I am going to get when I stay at a BW property. While there were certainly things that I liked about this property, I feel that the nightly rate is a bit high for what you get. Nothing went terribly wrong during my stay, but I expect more from a room in this price range. Positives: 1) Convenient location for those visiting all of the Lincoln attractions 2) Ample parking 3) Friendly Staff 4) Quiet Negatives: 1) The whole property feels a bit dated. I saw a response from the manager to a previous poster that they have spent several hundred thousand remodeling this property. While I don't doubt that, they still have some work to do over the next few years. I noticed plenty of areas on the walls that needed touched up with paint and there were some sticky spots on the carpet that should be addressed. 2) The lighting in the rooms is pretty dim. 3) There was a pretty strong smell of disinfectant noticeable in our room. 4) Very minimal seating in the breakfast area 5) Breakfast was pretty average. While I enjoyed the Egg Patties and Bacon, the pastries were very dry for some reason. Overall, the property is clean enough. I may return if I find myself in the area again in the future. I just have stayed at numerous Best Westerns across the country that impressed me significantly more and provided a better value.

The desk clerk was friendly and very helpful. She got out her map and helped us find several attractions we were asking about. I would rate her above average in all aspects. Good job. Plus she was a redhead.

The quietest hotel I have ever stayed - did not hear any noise at all. Bed was very comfortable- would have preferred a roll in shower but that was not available. Room was accessible to me. Friendly staff at check in- signed us up for Best Western Rewards.

The staff was friendly and welcoming and the property was clean and updated. It was a lovely place to stay after a long day of driving. Will definitely return. Conveniently located near the interstate, but did not hear any noise from it. Several options for restaurants in nearby, too.

We asked for a quiet room and we received a room away from the road and the AC equipment was quiet. We liked the location (easy to find from the Interstate) and the bed was very comfortable. We highly recommend this Best Western.

Very convenient to interstate and old 66, as well as the city its self. there is a inside pool, many places to eat. the hotel is clean and well kept staff was friendly, breakfast is as expected good but self serve

This hotel was not up to Best Western standards. It is not in a good area, very small, and had issues with a/c. The agent at check in was very nice and did her best to resolve issues. Poor girl also had to work the audit due to a no show employee. She was still friendly in the morning tho. Can't say much for the man working the morning shift, he definitely didn't want to be bothered by the guests! Find another hotel!

The hotel has an indoor pool and we did get an additional bed as we asked for. The wlan worked well. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was ok, nothing special. The rooms had been clean. Would stay there again.

Very clean hotel with great staff. The pool looked nice as did the fitness center, but neither of us used either one. Very comfortable bed and very quiet all night. Breakfast was good and plentiful. This hotel was very reasonably priced, yet the quality was comparable to the high end hotels.

Hotel was very clean, staff was fine.The bed was horrible.I found it comfortable enough but wife woke up with bad back pains. Every time you moved,rolled over the bed made a creaking sound. It wasn't the bed frame but the mattress. Must have been a cheap one.Had problems with the ac. Room was stuffy and ac fan wouldn't run but a minute no matter what I set temp on. No USA Today paper except for the front desk copy. Won't return.

Clean hotel with great staff! Had no issues! I did not use the pool, but it looked nice. The fitness center was nice. Did not have the breakfast, but it looked and smelled good. I just don't do breakfast, so nothing against the hotel.

The staff was must helpful in suggesting great places to eat dinner. We were also given accurate directions for each and found all recommended very good with excellent service. We also were given great maps for the area to help us get around the areas out of town, as well as great directions for all the eating establishments we visited. The service was excellent and the staff most willing to assist with any questions we had for directions, room services and points of interest in the area.

Although I was assured the whole hotel was a Non-Smoking hotel, as soon as I opened my room door it was evident that my room had either been a smoking room in the past or some recently had been smoking in it. There were also no usual toiletries provided.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. They even aided me in a place to park my semi. Very clean and well kept facility. Bed was very comfortable. Internet was not slow and TV channel selection was excellent. Would highly recommend. Places to eat nearby and easy access to facility. Quiet with very little traffic noise. Near to interstates.

Our family of three (2 adults and 1 child) stayed at this hotel while visiting Springfield. We visited many of the Abraham Lincoln sites. *Check-in was quick and easy. *The room was clean and comfortable. *Breakfast was fine. I've had better at hotels, but it was acceptable and well stocked. *Noise level was quiet. There was some type of youth conference going on in town and I was worried that it would be a loud night with the youngsters at the hotel, but we didn't hear anything and slept good. Would stay here again!

The personnel was exceptionally helpful and kind, and they went out of their way to help us. It did not matter what role they played, they all treated us as royalty! The room was very clean. The food was delicious and plentiful, and I have a big appetite! I would HIGHLY recommend this motel to EVERYONE!!!!

Great hotel the employs friendly, helpful staff. The Person on duty gave me a free upgrade to a King Suite. They offer a military discount and the desk person also directed me to the local Papa Johns brochure which offers a 25% discount for ordering online. We had mixed feeling about Best Western in the past, but it appears the chain has upgraded everything from the furnishings to the staff. Impressed by this value hotel. We got the room for $99 out the door. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with two flat screen tvs, a king bed, sofa sleeper, fridge and microwave, free wifi. It appears to have free breakfast, but I didn't ask as you are 4 miles from the Diner's, Drive Ins, and Dives restaurant Charlie Parker's, where we will go for the Famous "Horse Shoe".

We stayed here overnight while traveling. It has an indoor pool which we did not use. Our room was great! We had a kingsize bed (5 small pillows). Also in the room was a sofa & table/chairs & frig/micro. We were on the first floor. There are many restaurants nearby. The desk clerk recommended the nearby steak/seafood restaurant which we tried & it was really good & good value. This hotel is right off I55 so easy to get to if you are in that area. Using our discount it was a little more expensive than usual for us but worth it. Also very clean.

The hotel was very clean and the amenities were nice. The pool area was clean but we did not actually swim. There were a lot of families staying in this hotel but it was quiet. The shower was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable. We had nice service at check-in and did express check-out. I would stay here again.

I stayed this week at the Best Western Clearlake Plaza. It is a nice hotel in an average sort of way. This is an older Best Western that hasn't had any recent upgrades done to it. So, if staying in surroundings that are a bit dated is OK with you, then you will do just fine. The rooms are quiet and clean with comfortable beds. Nice sheets and pillow cases on the beds, too. Typical Best Western room amenities: Microwave, refrigerator, flat screen TV....air conditioning/heat. The hotel has an elevator for guests with rooms on the second floor. Parking for cars is adequate but not expansive. The hotel has just recently upgraded their WI-FI capacity and it is very fast, and free. The Clearlake Plaza is conveniently located near restaurants and shopping areas. I find this hotel has a "comfortable feel" to it--and, would not hesitate to stay there again.

We just checked out this morning after spending Friday and Saturday night. We have stayed here several times and keep coming back. My highlights here are that they allow you to leave your dogs in the room provided they don't bark. Another hotel in town that has more perks will only let you live the pets for thirty minutes. Not sure how they enforce that but they lost us to Best Western. We got upgraded to a suite for a third time. Got it last May and last December. I am guessing because we have a reward card. As far as going to Lincoln attractions, you are only a couple miles away. I think it is one of the better locations for that. There is a gas station next door and a Kmart next to that. Walgreens and McDonalds in the same block. We used the pool this time. The air was warm and the pool wasn't too bad. My husband only got in to his waist. It seems a little cool but if you actually swim, it isn't too bad. Remember, this is December. It is a warm December though. Maybe the sun helped warm it. We got room 121. A suite is divided by a half wall. You walk in the room and on the left is the bathroom and on the right is your sink with the coffee maker and hair dryer. Then the first half of the room has a sofa sleeper and microwave/frig. Plus there is a tv on both sides of the divided rooms. On the other side of the half wall is your bed and the tv and the windows to the outside. There is a night stands too plus a desk in the first part and I think a low dresser in the second part. The internet has improved a lot since May. They said they got new wiring. It has helped. The breakfast is okay. Cereal, little rolls, egg patties, sausage, French toast, bacon, juices. I may have forgotten something. I did notice that men usually worked the front desk. Never saw a woman. Maybe that is a security thing. I don't know. Everyone working the desk was very friendly. The place was very quiet during this stay. We did hear some people coming in and out around midnight. Not sure what that was about (maybe a party or wedding) but didn't really keep us up. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Did I forget anything? My husband did hear someone say to the front desk as he was checking out "is there any place I can write a good review? I travel a lot and this is one of the best places". We will use this hotel again. It is not fancy by any means but we still like it.

We've just this trip become loyal fans of Best Western. Stayed at two of their properties coming from TX to WI. Last time at Best Western for 24 years ago outside Chicago. It too was nice and had a gym all those years ago. Its breakfast area had lots of local historic photos. Clean and fit wonderfully with our budget then!

On the road during a move, stayed here without having a reservation. I was treated as though I were expected. The room was VERY nice, and the breakfast the next morning as hot and tasty. The room was clean, quiet, and right off of the lobby. The motel is not in the heart of everything, is a bit off the beaten path, but unbeatable just the same.

Beds were comfortable. Staff helpful. Breakfast needs to be more varied. Nothing special about the rooms. Low water pressure. It was a quiet hotel which was appreciated. We didn't use the pool. Wished there was a hot tub. Would return if needed

Room Smelled Bad AND THE HALLWAY Smelled Like Sewage NOT SATIFIED. The customer should always come first in service and satisfaction. We do not feel our continuous business is being appreciated by some of the Best Westerns we have stayed at lately.

First time staying at a Best Western, and it was a great stay. Hotel and room were clean. Pool was nice, kids went swimming twice during our stay. Hot breakfast was a welcome bonus, didn't expect it from the website listing. Staff did a good job.

I liked walking in and smelling the pool. I wasn't prepared to swim, but I will remember it next time. If the pillows weren't feather they were close enough that I didn't have to bring my own inside. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Even if I had gotten there earlier, the eggs would have been unappetizing.

Clean rooms, lobby. Staff not overly friendly, but professional. Easy access to highway, yet quiet and comfortable rooms. Didn't try the breakfast, but it appeared to be the standard fare as other establishments.

It was a clean, quiet modest hotel. Nothing extravagant, but everything was nice and well maintained. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were well kept and fresh. Nice location - right next to interstate, gas and shopping but tucked away enough that it was very quiet. Could hardly hear and road noise. Will definitely stay there again in the future.

The staff was very nice and the rooms were large and clean. Good water pressure and comfy beds. Great lighted area with plenty of grass for dog walking. If we have a chance to stay here again we will.

The breakfast was a typical mid-grade motel breakfast and they did offer a very tasty bacon. Restaurants are nearby. As a Vietnam era veteran, I really appreciate the Government/military discount. Not just for me but for the people who now serve in spite of a barrage of assaults from some who wish to cut their benefits, amenities, cadre, etc. I thank all who serve our country. Not just the military but also police, firefighters, EMS, etc.

We enjoyed a nice large room with a large bathroom. The location is handy with a small shopping mall nearby as well as next to a gas/convenience shop. We took advantage of the hot breakfast, and appreciated a quality television as our plans did not include venturing out in the area.

Best Western Clear Lake Plaza is right off of I-55 and I-72, just a few miles from all things Lincoln, which is why we were here. We had requested a ground floor room and were pleasantly accommodated. After long drives, we like to use each hotels exercise rooms to get in our 10,000 steps, believe me when I tell you, you'll feel much better if you do this. Our room was comfortable with a sofa, coffee table, desk and chair. The beds are the standard BW “firm-ish”, but we like that. The lobby/breakfast area is small but it works. They have a lovely indoor pool, although we didn't try it out. When it was time to hit the road again, it was a simple as pie.
