    « Great Room »

Room and staff was great. The room was spacious and very clean. If you suffer from migraines, you may not want to stay here. The air freshener they use in the lobby and hallways when I was there, was horrible for my migraines.

« Very comfortable stay in the Best Western »

My husband and I enjoyed a very nice experience in the Best Western, Somerset! We were lucky to get one of the last rooms available when we made our reservation. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, with a lot of different choices. We did not have time to check out their indoor pool, but it looked nice and inviting.

    « Nice Hotel »

Everything was nice and clean. I enjoyed the central location to everything in the area. Breakfast was good and front desk staff were able to help with any questions we had. We had no issues and would happily return to this hotel in the future!

    « Best in town »

I have recently stayed at this hotel . The staff are excellent . Each time both rooms were clean . Bathrooms were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling. Located right beside Wal-Mart as well other shopping and restaurants.

« Great Hotel for Basketball Tournament »

Came to Somerset for a Holiday Basketball tournament. The Best Western lived up to it wonderful reviews. Great location, clean rooms, very good breakfast and wonderful staff. If you needed anything they were quick to bring it to you. Would highly recommend for anyone coming to Somerset.

« Almost Forced Stay in Smoking Room at This Musty, Dated Over-Priced Dive! »

People, just so you know if you book through Hotwire or Priceline be prepared to be put in a SMOKING ROOM. A smoking room is their default standard room if you book with an Express Deal on Priceline or through Hotwire. Yes, smoking rooms still exist! At least in Kentucky, emphysema capital of the world....thanks Mitch! Sad. After flatly refusing to accept a smoking room, I was moved to a non-smoking King. To my dismay this room and the whole floor also smelled of cigarette smoke. There were even burn marks left from cigarettes on sink area and on nightstand. The furnishings, bedding, everything were musty smelling and made it impossible to get comfortable. If you have to stay in Somerset the Hampton Inn or Courtyard are your only safe bets, unfortunately. If they are not available, drive on to Lexington or call a distant relative. Pity as it is a lovely area (scenery-wise at least).

« Friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms »

Staying here was a pleasure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lady named Vickie was especially courteous and helpful during our stay. Thanks Best Western for making our stay great. The rooms were clean, fresh and slept comfortably.

    5
    « Wonderful stay »

Excellent room, friendly staff AND THEY STILL OFFER SMOKING ROOMS. BIG, BIG THUMBS UP. The location of the hotel is conveniently located on the main road through town and within the commercial district. Hotel was wonderfully quiet, we did not hear ANY other guest during our ENTIRE stay.

    « Don't recommend »

Room was musty and not clean. Bathroom had mold in ceiling painted over. No chair for desk to do office work. Called front desk and girl said no a extra chair in the bldg.. Told woman at check out and said she was sorry.. Sorry Really! No discount given and I left. I thought about it and went back and told lady there was no reason to have to sit on a coffee table and do paperwork. I deserved a discount I told the lady.. She said she couldn't and gave me a $15 gift card... Pretty sad place I have to say

« Always my first choice! »

Best Western in Somerset, KY is always my first choice when I stay in the Pulaski County area. I travel for leisure and it is always a pleasure to stay here. The hotel staff makes me feel like family and the breakfast is awesome! Where else are you going to find bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, biscuit n gravy, eggs and all kinds of other stuff to eat. Front desk staff always has fresh coffee and cookies ready to munch! They also provide excellent directions to anywhere you want to go in the area and even offer discount cards when available. Just ask! If you are looking for things to do in the area, check out the information kiosk in the lobby! Thanks for another enjoyable visit!

« Somerset, KY, Best Western hotel »

Good location, pleasant staff, neat and clean. Great breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, variety of breads/rolls/donuts/cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt, fresh fruit. Something for everyone. Suite was very nice for evening reading and TV. Mattress was a little too soft for me.

    « Best Western Somerset »

I stay at this hotel for business as well as with my family during trips to Somerset. This hotel is clean and very friendly staff, good breakfast and very comfortable beds, which is very important to me. It is centrally located to everything.

« Great morel and staff. »

The Best Western in Somerset is our go to motel for the Somernights Cruise. The motel, staff and management (Vicki) always go above and beyond for our group. Motel is always very clean. The location is great! Looking forward to coming back.

    5
    « Very Satisfactory »

Check-in and out a breeze. Comfortable and quiet night. Complimentary breakfast standard but I did not leave hungry. Only bad thing was location. It was 35 or 40 miles off Interstate but rooms were booked up nearly everywhere because of the "Total Eclipse of the Sun"

    4
« Great place with friendly help. »

On our way home from seeing the solar eclipse we chose to stay off of the busy highways and set Somerset, Ky as a destination along Rt. 27. Check in was easy and our room was nice, clean and quiet. Chrystal was working the breakfast room and we enjoyed her company as we helped ourselves to her home cooked food. She made us feel like family that came to visit. Loved her!

    4
« Stayed the night before the 2017 eclipse, nice place »

My wife and I stayed here the night before the 2017 eclipse. The room was nice and clean with a fridge and microwave as well as personal coffee maker and four pouches. It is a smaller hotel with good parking and even has boat trailer parking as well as a small indoor pool. It is close to lots of shopping an dining options. Friendly staff. The AC was a little loud and made some clunking noises and the TV was smaller than most other hotels I've stayed at. Slightly more expensive than I would ordinarily pay because of the demand from the eclipse.

    5
    « Worth the stay »

First off, the room was reasonably priced. We had motorcycles and the front desk suggested we park under the front welcome area which was very nice. Check in was easy. When I walked into the room, it was pleasantly surprised by the room itself. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and I enjoy staying at Hampton Inn's but they are usually priced much higher. Our room was much like those at Hampton. The decor was very nice and more upscale than I usually find at most Best Westerns. The young lady at the front desk also gave us a discount card for Texas Roadhouse. That was very nice! The only downside I found was there was no facilities to do our laundry. Other than that we had a great stay.

    5
« Great stay, great people, great rooms great food. »

Every employee from the desk people to the cleaning people the lady doing the breakfast were all great. Best stay in a motel in many years. Best Western has proven to me they are on their game in quality in the motel business. Love the stay!!!!!

« Smoking room was great. A little too pricey. »

I enjoyed the smoking room, but the room was a little too pricey for one night. I was good and ready when we arrived at 10:00 pm at night. We had a suite plus we had to use the sofa bed. We were a total of five. I have three other sisters and one cousin we were visiting in Somerset, Kentucky.

    5
« Great place to stay! »

We had a good experience here. The room was very clean and so was the rest of the hotel. Very close to a big shopping mall and lots of eating places. The front desk had a very nice girl working at it that made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again next time we go to a convention in Somerset.

    5
    « Hotel Great, guests ? »

The hotel is very motorcycle friendly. We were allowed to park bikes under the cover. Also, rooms were very clean. We had plenty of towels ect. Great TV selection. Very friendly people at the desk. Now, the only issue was several guests. Not everyone can eat everything. Saw several crossing the tongs for the sausage on eggs. Not cool. The worse thing was several children went up by themselves and grabbed bacon out with their hands. There were plenty of correct tongs. I really like the hotel and have no issues staying again. Parents, please teach your kids.

    « Tina's Review »

We stay at this hotel 3-4 times per year for the monthly Somernites Cruise and love it. Vickie always goes out of her way to take care of us. The rooms are cean. The breakfast is great. You will cool off in the pool it's on the cold side.

    5
    « Bestest Western!! »

Clean, inviting, and personnel especially Vicky are wonderful! Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and shower heads are GREAT! Best breakfast included in room price is the best!! Biscuits and Gravy, waffles and cereal for the kids! Yogurt and granola!! TV could use some help!

    5
    « Comfy beds! »

The hotel was very clean and the beds were out of this world to sleep in! Breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from. There were even cookies and coffee available in the evening - or fruit - to snack on.

    5
    « Good sleep »

The front desk staff is very professional, helpful and friendly the rooms where very clean and the beds are very comfortable good fitness room and a great breakfast with bacon, eggs and gravy and biscuits

« Ahead of its class »

Excellent hotel. Super clean room, absolutely nothing wrong with anything at the location. I will return next year and will likely stay a week. The location is convenient to several restaurants all of which except one was excellent. The chicken place close to it was hot, had flies, and food had no taste. The hotel was as good or better than any Best Western I have stayed in and from its appearance, I thought it was brand new.

    5
    « Great stay »

I had a wonderful stay , staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast was fresh , room was clean outside of a small musty smell , that I chose not to report, otherwise I am sure the staff would have done everything possible to rectify the issue.

    3
    « Average »

The room was good with plenty of space. I could have done without the 2 spiders that we killed in the bathroom, but those things happen. My only complaint was that housekeeping didn't knock nor announce themselves before entering. I spoke with the desk clerk on departure and she assured me the concern would be addressed.

« Stayed for several nights in this hotel during May 2017. Strongly Recommend! »

Even upon arrival, the front desk clerk was extremely informative, helpful, and kind during the process of getting signed in and moved into my room. I am a brain injury survivor. I could not get the key to work. They went above and beyond to replace my key, and help me get settled and to my destination. They provided an excellent breakfast menu, pool for relaxation, and again accompanied me to get on the right road to return home. The room was magnificently clean and always well stocked with towels, etc. This hotel is the best. I plan to use them every time I come to their area. I give them a 5+, and I highly recommend them to everyone! Dolores E. Goad, D.D.

« Recent stay at Best Western in Somerset KY »

This was my 5th time staying at this location. Vickie Gregory , asst. mgr., is a great asset to this hotel. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, working as many hours necessary to take great care of guests during the week we are there annually (Gospel Music Fan Fair). Major, the evening employee at the front desk, also goes above and beyond to make sure our stay is awesome. Last week Vickie did the breakfast room as well as the front desk , making sure guests had what they needed. This location is also clean, neat and well maintained. I recommend it highly. Be sure to look for Vickie when you stay there as well as Major, you'll be glad you did !!!!!!

    « Best westernrocks »

The only real negative I can think of is price. For us it is a bit high. The breakfast was great. The Assistant Mgr. went & bought instant grits when I asked if they had any. That is what I call customer service

    5
« Great price, great frontline staff, clean and quiet »

Stayed here for one night. Either the hotel is relatively new, or it has been renovated because everything was modern and clean. At check in Vickie was very nice and informative. She also called my room later to make sure everything was ok. Room temp was good and the a/c was not too noisy. It was very quiet in the hotel. Bed was very comfy. Convenient location. I did not check out the free breakfast.

Great customer service, comfortable stay, good price. My favorite place to stay in Somerset! Easy check in and check out. Coffee is always hot (would prefer hot cocoa). Central location. Staff are the most helpful in the area. I'll be back!!

Nice place to stay. A lot of activities near by. Very close to state and federal parks. There are multiple restaurants near the hotel which makes it very convenient. The hotel staff has a great attitude.

« Only Place to Stay in Somerset »

Great place to stay and the Vickie and the rest of the staff are always friendly. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. This is the only place we stay when visiting Somerset Ky and don`t miss out on Somernites Cruise Weekend , 4th Sat. April through Oct.

    5
« The Best in Somerset »

Great place to stay and Vickie and the Staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. This is the only place we stay when coming to Somerset for Somernites Cruise and the Local Attractions oh and did i mention the Great Nearby Restaurants.

    « Working hard »

I've been staying here off and on for the past few months with work. Over all a real nice place to stay. All the employee's are really friendly and breakfast is really good. I had no idea the breakfast lady (Connie) takes care of so much. The front desk guy (Major) is really nice he always has a smile on. I'm pretty sure the other desk clerks are just as nice. My favorite thing about my stay is the beds...so comfortable. Will stay again and differently would recommend this hotel. .

    5
    « Beautiful »

When I stayed here, the room was very up to date, with a very comfortable bed, real homey feeling. Everything was nice inside the room, not a problem at all. I would come back again when in area! This place wont disappoint you.

    5
« Next Best Place to Home »

Plenty of eateries in the area, from fast food to sit-down, Ruby Tuesday & Zaxby's in walking distance. The hotel is always clean, everybody always friendly. Vickie always remembers you, once you have been here a time or two, she even remembers your entire name & just looks up your reservation when she sees you. Bed is always comfy!

    « Quiet, affordable hotel »

Quiet hotel, reasonably priced. Clean rooms and common areas. Swimming pool was warm and inviting. WIFI was slow. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. Close to restaurants and shopping. Near Lake Cumberland.

    5
    « Excellent motel »

We decided to try this motel because we had been please with our other Best Western motels. The staff is great and the room are well maintained. Our only complaint was the height of the beds. There are so high that you almost need a ladder to get in bed. Maybe the height is great if you are a "high jumper" but it is tough if you are a senior citizen.

    5
« Great Stay in Somerset! »

We stayed here just one night while vacationing in Lake Cumberland. We normally stay at the Holiday Inn but with room prices near $200/night we had to look elsewhere. Costco members receive a 10% on Best Western Hotels and this place did not disappoint! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. All fixtures, a/c, lights were in working order. It was nice to have a good size refrigerator and microwave in room. We used the pool and it was nice for the kids. I will say the temperature in the pool area - not the pool itself is MUGGY!! Sometimes hard to breath- had to go outside or into pool bathroom to get some fresh a/c air every so often. The staff was nice with check-in and check-out. We had a boat and there were 4 spaces in the back of the hotel for parking boats. We never had a problem with parking or security. The spaces backed to a wooded area and hotel had advised they hadn't had any problems. This hotel is located right near Lowes, Walmart and some food restaurants. So you could easily walk and get food verses having to drive. The continental breakfast was average. We didn't really eat much as we were meeting others at Cracker Barrel later. I had read reviews that donuts from a local bakery were there and while there were "3" donuts out- they weren't very good to eat. Nothing any better than a store bought donut. So that was disappointing. Overall, we would definitely stay here again for a night as it met all our needs and it was nice to get a discount with our Costco membership.

    « Bugs and Filth »

During our stay we found; A Bug in the bed (cricket or cockroach) Stain on Bed sheet Filthy Bathroom Mould on bathroom door and doorknob Was reported to front desk and clerk told me that the bugs were complained about before.

    « It was good!!! »

We only stayed one night but it was good for that one night! I would recommend it for one night but not for a vacation. The room was clean, and they had wifi. The hotel was convenient to the place we was going which was somersplash! The pools wasn't very clean but the rest was okay.

    5
    « Great Stay »

One of the best hotels I have stayed in two years, outside of full service high end hotels. Staff, breakfast, room, and internet were all great. Hotel was a one night stay enroute to Mammoth Cave. Excellent check-in without issues.

    1
« Keep on going to another hotel »

We stopped for the night in Somerset and in the beginning thought this would be a great hotel. Lobby is clean. Desk agent was friendly. The. We got to the room. The air conditioner was unplugged. So we called the desk. They said they were being cleaned. The thing was loud, the room was the most uncomfortable I have stayed in years! I have been physically ill for 3 days because every allege I have kicked in that night. Yeah...don't stay here.

    5
    « First visit here »

We were here for the Somerset Cruise, hotel was easy to find, front desk was friendly checked in no problems. Room was clean, breakfast was good, they had donuts from the bakery across the street that are excellent, many places to eat around and within walking distance, overall nice place.

    « Great Stay »

This hotel is located to many different restaurants and shopping areas. It was very quiet and the staff were all very helpful. We would stay here again for a nice peaceful night. We were on a motorcycle and is very close to nice parks and relaxing rides.

« Amazing hotel with a wonderful staff! »

I stayed at the Best Western when in town to visit some friends and family and absolutely loved it! I will definitely be staying here next time I am in town. Compared to my experience from the other comparable hotels in town- the Best Western definitely stood out!! It is a well kept up hotel with a very hospitable staff.

« Everybody needs to experience these wonderfil foks! »

The title of this review says it all. The staff & facilities are awesome. Now if there were a way to cause some guest to be considerate of others. the only negative would be the shower heads, they are week.

    5
« First TimeThere but won't be the last Great Facility »

I know 5 star means different things to everyone, but if you want a great place to stay with great service and reasonable price without the whistles and bells that you don't need this is the place. Would like to include some comments: Great internet service, especially like the direct connection in the room which is faster and more secure in addition to the Wi-Fi A neat switch by the bed turns on the hall light if you have to get up during the night, love it Not used to the high beds in a hotel but did I sleep good, great My wife was not with me but she would definitely love the great lightning in bath, so many hotels are lacking in this area. And The Breakfast, loved it, Waffles, Fruits, Cereal, Sausage gravy, Bacon, Biscuits, Sausage, Juices, doughnuts, and more, just great Loved the fact that an ice machine on each floor I stayed on the third floor and absolutely no noise, great. NOTE TO MANAGEMEN Housekeeping did a great job, but I did notice one thing that could save you some money, Each day I left the A/C set at 72 and I would return and it would be set to 62 and the room very cold, tell housekeeping to leave it set up

    « BW Mid-Town Somerset »

Great value for the price; clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Walking distance to several restaurants and stores. Central location on US-27 near businesses. Despite next to a main artery, very quiet. One of my favorite Best Westerns.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff was very courteous and polite. The room was very clean. Breakfast was good. The location was easy to find. There are numerous stores and restaurants with in walking distance or a short quick ride. We both agreed that we would stay there again if we have her visit Somerset for a second time.

« Excellent and Relaxing Stay. »

Upon check-in, room was completely clean after inspection. Bed very comfortable with chair and ottoman very nice addition. Plenty of extra amenities such as microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, sink, various toiletries. Nice fitness center and indoor pool but hot tub was covered up. Great breakfast every morning with eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, yogurt and fruit, pastries and bread, cereal and oatmeal, waffle maker, coffee, tea, and juice with many extra condiments. Vicky(Manager), Major(Front Desk), and Connie(Housekeeping / Breakfast) were wonderful with great customer service skills. Fresh cookies each day. Excellent stay from 3/16/16-3/23/16.

Have stayed here twice in the last month. Vickie at the front desk is fantastic. Friendly and always has the guests interest at heart. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was good and filling. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here. Not fancy but far from a flop!

Very friendly and family oriented. Room was nice and clean. There could have been more towels for two people. Had a late check out so we could swim w/family before heading back to PA. Good location. Breakfast is best before 8:00. Had to microwave eggs and sausage. Overall a pleasant stay.

Visiting there due to a funeral, the staff was very sympathetic and accommodating. They were sincere in how they showed us their hospitality. They allowed us to use the breakfast area as a 'meeting room' the night before the funeral and allowed us a later checkout so we could attend AM services then change clothes, etc before we left town. The room itself was clean, roomy and well maintained. Couldn't have asked for more from a Best Western. Also, they had a hot breakfast that was very good.

« Great Kentucky find - we'd stay here again »

This is a relatively new hotel. It's very easy to find and close to many restaurants and stores. The outside was well maintained and the lobby was very clean. There is an elevator and an indoor pool. Our suite was large with a separate sitting area. There was a sink next to the sitting area as well as in the bathroom. There was a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker. AC/heat was quiet. The main drawback with the room was the very high bed (32") - we practically had to climb into it. The bathroom was large with room to move around. Breakfast was the usual along with egg patties, sausage patties, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Even with the high bed, we'd stay here again.

« ABove Average For Best Westerns »

I usually don't stay at Best Westerns any longer due to Best Western Corporate not enforcing their quality control guidelines, thus they have gone down in quality over the years. This Best Western is an exception and I will stay here every time I am in the area.

« Wonderful place to stay »

Stayed here recently when travelling to KY for a wedding. The room was tremendous. The bed was super comfy, nice furniture, and most of all it was well kept. I had stayed in a room the night before that was similar in price and nowhere near the quality. Enjoyed the pool as well. And the lady at front desk remembered me well enough to let me know my grandmother who was also staying there for the wedding was looking for me. Its the little details that are impressive.

    « Good Choice »

Stayed at this location for one night on the way to Tennessee. We picked the Best Western Mid-Town based upon the good reviews and we were not disappointed. Our King Room was super clean, The staff was exceptional and extremely helpful. The breakfast was much better than most complimentary breakfasts. If anyone is passing through the Somerset area and needs a place to stay, I would recommend the Best Western Mid Town.

« Avoid if you can »

I arrived at the hotel at the end of the first day of my conference at the nearby Rural Center, with a prepaid reservation, nonsmoking required. Desk clerk gave me a key to a smoking rooms and said no nonsmoking rooms were available. When I showed the reservation and said I need nonsmoking for health reasons he said "we don't pay any attention " to what reservations request... and no other rooms are available. A fellow conference participant overheard and offered to swap rooms but advised it was used. The desk clerk handed me 3 towels and left me to swap them out for wet ones, toss used soaps and determine which bed was more used. I would have been grateful for the swap, but when I got back from dinner I saw a man register and roll his bag to a clean nonsmoking room 3 doors down from the used room I'd been given.

« Good place to stay!! »

We stayed here for two nights while attending the classic car show. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed directions. Rooms were very clean, and beds so comfortable, The only thing I would change is more healthy options for breakfast.

    « Great Experience! »

We needed a hotel to stay for one night on our way to Tennessee. We wanted to stop at Cumberland Falls on the way so we stopped in Somerset. Best Western offered the Best Price for a King Room! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. I would definitely recommend this Best Western for any of your hotel needs.

    « Convenient and comfortable »

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past when Somerset sponsored the Kentucky District Gold Wing Road Riders convention. It is a shame they filled in the hot tub but the indoor pool is nice. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean and the breakfast is adequate. When we were here with our group in the past, they allowed us to use the breakfast room as a gathering place in the evening. Very friendly staff.

I travel all over the country for work and this Best Western may be at the top of the chain for overall value. The front clerk was very friendly along with the rest of the staff. The rooms were clean as can be with excellent furniture and decor. Highly recommended!

Stayed here as a coach with our high school girls soccer team. Had King rooms for the coaches and we had suites for the players. Rooms were all very spacious and big and all bathrooms and showers were very clean. Shower was much bigger than normal hotel bathrooms and shower head and pressure were great! Staff was friendly and accommodated our group very well. Some small issues: the suites had pull out beds and one was absolutely disgusting and broken. The girls couldn't sleep on it and wound up three to a bed. Mentioned it to the desk clerk at checkout, so I really hope they replaced it. Also, several rooms seemed damp or humid. Not sure why, as it was one of the mildest weekends of the summer. Cranked the air and it either helped or I got used to it, but went to put on a shirt that had been hanging in the closet and it was noticeably damp. A dehumidifier or something is needed. One tip for light sleepers: I had a room right by the elevator and I was fine to sleep, but I did hear the elevator beeping so a light sleeper would probably want to request a room away from the elevators. Breakfast was your average hotel breakfast.
