Best Western Socorro Hotel & Suites

This is a good budget location. I was in the Annex across the street. The rooms are a bit worn, but not unpleasant or unacceptable. Make sure that the key is made so that it will open the front door to this Annex building. Mine didn't work the first time and I had the hike back to get it corrected. All and all, it is a good place. I would stay there again.

The hotel is divided into two areas, an annex and main building. The annex is across the street. Our room was in the annex and there are no desk personnel available there. It is newer than the main building, which is a plus. The room was nice and the beds were comfy. Our problem was that neither of our keys worked and we didn't have them next to our phones to demagnetize. We had to get into the car and drive back to the desk at the main building to get new keys We had to drive back to the main building for breakfast. It was only fair since the menu said biscuits and gravy and there wasn't any. The ham was just thin sliced deli lunchmeat. Very limited breakfast due to the absence of items that were supposed to be available. Limited hotel choices in this smaller town so might stay there again if necessary.

Very friendly staff. Great bed soft and fluffy. Amazing hot tub. I will stay again. The price was good . I loved that you could park in front of the room. The property is very clean and well kept. You will not be sorry.

The Best Western Socorro is fine for a short visit. Rooms are basic and comfortable enough but be aware it is motel style- rooms open onto the parking lot so there is noise from cars and other guests coming and going. The room was clean and included a refrigerator, microwave and small table. Breakfast was fresh and ample, a good perk, and the pool/spa were both clean (did not use). The location is accessible to I-25 and NM Tech.

Our room was pet-friendly and relatively quiet for a first-floor room. The hotel had good internet access and a breakfast with a wide variety of options to choose from. We just needed a good night's sleep and a good breakfast, and that's what we got.

The hotel furnishings are a bit worn and it needs new paint, but we were comfortable and had a great stay. The breakfast area was spotless. Staff friendly. We worried we'd hear trucks all night, but we didn't. Many places nearby for dinner. Highly recommend.

We came to Socorro to visit Bosque del Apache. We've been in the area many times, stayed here at least once before but will not again. This is an old motel that seriously needs a refresh but the worst part, THE KEY CARD DOOR LOCK HAS CLEARLY BEEN BAD FOR OVER A YEAR AND THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY INDIFFERENT. You can't count on getting into your room. That is a problem. The maintenance guys drove by when we first got here and saw us struggling and stopped to help - without being asked. That's great, right?? To have staff see you struggling in this day and age of short staffing issues (STILL) and help without being asked is really great. However when we came back after dinner we again couldn't get in. We were in the very farthest room from the front. I went to see Jordan and told him the keys didn't work. He started to rekey the existing keys but I asked “is it ever the actual plastic key?” Well yes he admits so he changed the keys. Still struggling when I got back to the room we were eventually able to get in. Let's stop for a moment and review the front desk. The agent is totally locked in at this Best Western. I have stayed at a lot of hotels. I haven't seen anyone locked into a room away from guests behind a plexiglass wall unless its a VERY low end property. Definitely never a Best Western. To be fair this is absolutely a 2 star motel. I'd give it 1 star but it has EIGHT Tesla charging stations. EIGHT. In Socorro New Mexico. This town is struggling. You can't open the room door because the locks don't work yet EIGHT Tesla charging stations. The owner of this property could not have possibly put in those charging stations without being paid for them. People cannot get into their rooms. The staff is aware. The reviews have mentioned the problem for at least a year. But EIGHT Tesla charging stations. It's crazy. There are other issues that need to be upgraded in the rooms but, the bed seems comfortable. So, there is that. If you can get in you will be able to sleep. PLEASE FIX THE LOCKS!!!

The front desk and breakfast person weren't welcoming, they had an unapproachable attitude. The front desk ask for our names and give us our key without explaining anything, like breakfast time , pool, etc. I called later to ask those questions and she seemed annoyed, later I realized I didn't had enough towels but I didn't even ask to avoid her attitude, same with the breakfast person i ask to heat our oatmeal and she seem upset and just grabbed it , my daughter wanted oatmeal as well but she was scared to even ask her . I said I would but she said i rather not.

I've stayed here regularly over the years and was surprised this trip that housekeeping doesn't take care of rooms unless asked. We should have been informed at check-in, and there was a sign at the front desk, which we overlooked after a long drive. Isn't having someone else make the bed, etc. after a long day one of the pleasures of being in a hotel? And do you leave a tip or not?

The hotel was fully booked as were all the hotels in the area or we would have stayed somewhere else. The door to our room did not close properly and had a large gap. It also appeared that at some point someone had tried to break the deadbolt off. I am not sure how no one has noticed or repaired these issues. We had to prop a chair and a table against the door to get it to stay closed.

We have stayed at this motel many times, but this was the first time we got to stay in the larger rooms in the annex. It was WONDERFUL!!!! Great room, great layout, great bed, quiet...it was PERFECT!!! And the breakfast at this motel is always wonderful

Great Place to stay, clean and comfy with a good breakfast. Not the cheapest place to stay in Socorro, but probably the nicest and with easy parking. I liked that the room had a coffee maker and a mini fridge.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on a road trip. The hotel is very clean. Front desk staff were very pleasant. There are Tesla superchargers in the parking lot. The air conditioner in our room did not work for the first half of the night. Then for some reason began to function around 3 AM. Which made for a somewhat uncomfortable night. We mentioned this to the front desk people when we checked out. They were well aware of the problem. The hotel could benefit from a refresher The facility seems dated when compared to the popular chain hotels.

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I was in town like several others for first responders training at New Mexico Tech. I arrived Sunday evening in ABQ, drove to Socorro, checked in, showered and headed straight to sleep in preparation for 0700am training. The Best Wsstern is a 1 star motel at best. Rooms are very outdated, air conditioning barely works, and the smell of wet dog is overbearing, To my surprise I woke up the Monday morning covered in small bites across lower extremities. When I left for class around 0630 I found no one at the front desk, so I contacted my travel director and immediately had them rebook me at a different hotel. Because attendance to the first responders training is not only mandatory but extremely important I attended class and returned to the hotel directly after. I went straight to the front desk and told the attendant I needed to check out and cancel the remainder of my booking. The attendant Salena, informed me she could not print me a receipt and I would need to return the next day and the "other girl" would be able to get it for me. I informed her this was not an option I would need the receipt immediately upon check out. She then told me she would need to contact the manager for my receipt. While waiting for the manager Salena asked me why I was leaving so soon and I was honest and told her I had received several bites after staying in that room, at which time Erica, the manager approached. Salena immediately turned to her and said I was accusing them of having bed bugs, to which Erica replied and questioned me accusingly about why I was saying this and if I had any proof. I offered to show her my legs covered in bites whether caused by bed bugs or fleas due to them allowing animals I do not know. To which Salena responded that they could be caused by mosquitoes and Erica agreed it could also be a reaction to Detergents or cleaning products. Both women were extremely rude and accusatory. Even after several attempts to obtain my receipt and leave the women continued to question me. They even tried charging me for a second night due to late checkout, knowing I was in mandatory training until 5pm. After several minutes they were able to finally correct the issue on my bill and print me a receipt. Erica asked for my contact number and email so she could inform me of the results of her own personal inspection of the room. She called me approximately an hour later and told me housekeeping was gone for the day but she inspected the room and beds personally and found absolutely no sign of ANY type of bugs and that I was mistaken, still speaking to me in an accusatory manner. Never once did she apologize to me or try to listen to anything I said. It was the most blatant display of disrespect I have ever encountered during business travel.

We are relatively new to Best Western. Our previous go-to motel chain became spotty and unreliable. So we approach motels with a little trepidation. This motel was perfectly fine: clean and maintained. We would stay here again. It is a good choice if you are going to Bosque del Apache NWR or Very Large Array - right off I-25. Great breakfast too.

It was very easy to check in. The room was extremely clean with all appointed items. I was surprised to see square sleeping pillows although they were fluffy and comfortable. Breakfast was good; a great variety.

There are two "family suites" which are very nice - a real suite with two full rooms, a door in between, a separate bathroom, exceptionally clean and well equipped. The Mars suite however faces the street noise so we'll try the Jupiter suite next time. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is a bit standard but it seems that they cook real eggs (not the lemony powdered stuff) and offer salsa and cheese. The layout - like in many Best Westerns - is a bit odd - no internal elevators or halls. The pool and separate hot tub looked good.

This hotel is very clean and welcoming. The air conditioning and heat worked very well. We loved the suite with the wet bar and it was well worth the extra charge. The king size bed was very comfortable.

Clean, comfortable rooms far enough from the interstate to be quiet. Breakfast was very good, and having breakfast available until 9:30 AM was great. The staff was friendly. The motel was not hard to find from the interstate.

I had a very positive experience with the hotel and especially the breakfast. I visited before and this was a memorable stay. Hot water, internet, breakfast and a comfortable bed. I used this location for my visits to Bosque del Apache, 20 minutes from the Wildlife Refuge.

It's been a few years since I last stayed here. The folks at the front desk were pleasant. My room in the annex was spacious, clean, and quiet. The internet worked fine. My only complaint was the coffee, both in the room and at breakfast. It was awful. I would stay here again, but I'd bring my own coffee!

Being a Best Western Rewards member helped me to save money on this hotel. In addition, since we were on our way home, so staying someplace comfortable that offered a good breakfast helped us get a good nights sleep and an early start in the morning.

We ended spending three nights at this hotel as our camper broke down. We had a spacious room suite in the annex. Very quiet, just a bit of highway noise from first floor and facing the interstate. There is a laundry room for guests ( 2 washing machines and 2 driers). All in working order and clean. There is always staff cleaning something and there are sanitizing dispensers. We felt safe staying at this hotel.

The room was very comfortable and spacious and the bathroom counter was quite large. Good wifi, but TV channel selection was very limited. Breakfast was average with eggs, breads, fruit, a waffle iron. Nothing special. No yogurts. We were put in the “annex” building which is across the small street. That meant a long walk in the morning weather to get breakfast. There were no luggage carts available in this building and only one door with parking close-by, yet our room was at the opposite furthest end. My key didn't work to get into the building but did work to get into our room. After reprogramming and many false starts, we decided the card reader on the door was at fault. We observed many other guests have trouble getting into the door as well.

Hotel is very close to the interstate making it convenient. Customer service was poor. Staff at front desk are not friendly or helpful with the exception of Jordan. Jordan is professional, efficient and friendly.

Unusual set up with main building but had outer Anex also. In mail building all rooms enter from outside parking. Also note there are two stories but they do not have elevator…. Older motel but rooms are clean and beds are comfortable…. Nice hot breakfast in main building off check in area. Nothing fancy for sure but certainly serves its purpose

I would highly recommend this hotel. We were at the Socorro Festival on Saturday 9/16/2022 and wanted to stay the night at a hotel because we wanted to watch the band that played after 10 p.m. I was so pleased they had an indoor pool and hot tub. My granddaughter loves to swim. The hot tub was a real plus. They also had the best free breakfast we have had at a hotel.

Just a stopover on a long road Road trip. Good location, easy in and out , clean room and very comfy bed. I especially liked 5he black out curtains for sleep, The staff was very helpful.. “where is that ice machine?”.. Instead of a point and grunt the desk guy took me out and showed me where it was located.

This was my only option while attending the DHS PSBI course. I'm glad we did stay here. The room was clean, secure, and accommodating. Most of the FEMA students stay in the Annex Bldg, which is behind McDonalds. For someone that always staying at a Marriott, I was comfortable staying here, and would stay here again. Downside, the pool isn't reeling appealing. Enjoy your stay!

This was a basic, clean motel with comfortable beds and a few nice extras. Each room had a mini-fridge w/ freezer compartment and a coffee maker. Beware there is no elevator. So if stairs are a problem, be sure to get a 1st floor room!

We had exactly one person smile at us once during the five days we stayed there. The front desk clerk was rude more than once, the key cards kept failing, the decor is 1970s, and the pool was closed for two days! I asked to have the manager contact us, but never received a call. It was pretty clear this hotel and their staff DO NOT CARE!

Horrible service. Booked 4 rooms, only 1 was ready by the time we showed up at 5:30 p.m. had to wait about 3-4 hours for the rest of the rooms to even be touched by housekeeping!!! Front desk lady didn't even know the rooms weren't ready, and gave us the keys to go into the rooms with sheets and rooms a mess!!!

Dog area was not dog friendly. Room keys never activated posing a safety risk amd major inconvenience. We were locked out front desk was on a break had to leave. Rooms EXTREMELY HOT one was almost 80 inside.

The afternoon desk clerk lady with the ear gauges is rude, AC barely works, the key card locks barely work. Breakfast is ok. The coffee is good in the cafeteria and available all day. The choice of TV channels suck.

It was there as promised, with one J1772 plug. I could be dicey. While in good order, I would have been out of luck if it was occupied. The room was clean and comfortable, hot breakfast pretty good, no meats like sausage or bacon, but a good selection otherwise.

This is a great option in Socorro. The rooms are updated and clean. The free hot breakfast is better than most. The staff is pleasant and helpful. It is convenient to the highway and local restaurants

Very easy to access hotel from interstate...eating close by and within walking distance...used pool and hot tub - pretty standard...room was comfortable...shower/hot water was great...hallway a little smelly...breakfast was standard and good - nothing special. I would stay there again.

This Best Western, though older in age and design is very well maintained. All furnishings and decor in excellent condition. Housekeeping does an exceptional job. Staff all friendly and helpful. We met Mark at check in and was extremely polite, friendly, and efficient in spite of many new customers arriving at the same time. Small clean well maintained breakfast area. Jerrick was at the desk in morning. Also efficient, polite and helpful. Location is an easy on and off route 25 highway but was quiet.

First time guest with reservations. Checking in, we met with a check-in/front-desk person who obviously didn't want to be there. He was curt and not friendly. Our room was in the adjacent building with its own parking. The main hotel was not full, but guests were sent there instead. The room was comfortable and adequate for a one-night stay. Socorro is a small town which is having trouble finding people to staff its businesses, and this was no exception. The location was important. They do offer breakfast, adjacent to the lobby in the main building, but when we saw the same person on duty in the morning, we opted to go elsewhere. This was not the Best Western Service that I am used to.

I stayed at the Best Western hotel. The rooms are very nice. The bed was super comfortable! Breakfast with coffee, juice, milk and a variety of breakfast choices, make the stay even better. I had a first floor room and that was even better since I didn't have to lug my suitcase up stairs. Overall, the room was nice and comfortable and the staff is very nice and helpful and very accommodating.

Fairly typical BW property, except that it is a motel with exterior entries to rooms rather than a hotel with interior hallways leading to rooms. The room was clean but a little smaller than other hotels. It was well-maintained - grout in the bathroom was bright white, indicating a recent refresh. The best feature of this property was the variety of options offered at the breakfast buffet. Non-dairy options are a rarity at the type of property, but Socorro had it! Omelets and scrambled eggs! Herbal tea! Oatmeal cups - but no microwave in kitchen area where they could be cooked beyond just hot water from beverage dispenser. About 10 miles from Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge, which was why we were in the area. A few restaurants just down the road if you need lunch or dinner.

The Best Western Socorro Hotel is a great location from which to go to Bosque del Apache. We have a King Bed Room in the Annex and the room is large, comfortable, clean, and has easy access. The rooms all enter to the hall. Wifi is good. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. (We had an internet issue initially and the young man at the front desk came over to our room to fix the problem). For bird watchers, the breakfast starting at 6 AM is a big advantage.

This is our 3rd birding trip to Bosque Del Apache and we always stay at this hotel in Socorro. We opt for a room in the annex, which is the newest part of this Best Western. Very quiet, ultra clean and comfortable. The reception area and breakfast room is very clean and up-to-date. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and pleasant.

The hotel was clean with a nice room. Our room was on the second floor with an outside entrance, requiring trips up and down a flight of stairs to carry our bags and to get to the lobby. A first floor room would be more convenient. The staff was helpful and friendly. We liked the breakfast area and the food choices. The location is quiet, but near the interstate and only a few minutes from the wildlife refuge.

The junior suite was clean and comfortable but the hotel is generally noisy due to thin walls and loud plumbing. The breakfast was adequate. The room coffee is horrible. Bosque del Apache was less than 30 minutes away. The access to the parking lot and our car was convenient. There are a lot of places to eat nearby.

Enjoyed overnight stay and that it was pet friendly traveling with pet cat from one home to another. Breakfast area offered nice selection of items. Loved the fireplace and seating area just inside the lobby. Very inviting!

I had booked my stay several weeks in advance through their own website, and used my own ID including my birthday. However when I showed up they told me they did not allow guests under 21 to stay, and forced me to find somewhere else at 8:00 PM. Nowhere on their website was this told, because apparently the local manager made it up on his own. They even had my birthday when I registered and didn't let me know. There was no way I could have known I would be refused until I arrived. I don't know whether the hotel itself is nice, but I know that they cannot be trusted if they don't even inform people whether they are allowed to stay.

Our room was comfortable and cozy. We liked the hot breakfast. We especially liked the pool which was the perfect warm temperature. Also a nice hot,hot tub. Nice rack of towels to dry off before leaving. Great way to start the day.

This hotel is a little older so the rooms are not large. They do, however make the best use of the space that is there. Highlights are, a table with two chairs, luggage rack for 2 bags, microwave and minifridge. There is a nice layout on the Bathfitters bathtub.

Older but clean and good beds. No Elevator and all rooms face outside. Breakfast included and had some hot chicken selections. Plenty of restaurants close by as well as gas. Bathroom small and dimly lit. Not much counter space by sink

upon checking in the clerk was very rude, sign here, here and read and sign pet policy you will be responsible for any damages your pets make and put your mask on We have 2 small dogs, were ordered to read and sign the pet policy. the room was clean, quite and up to the Best Western standards the grounds didn't have dog excrement's

I have stayed here several times when passing through and all were good experiences. Nice King room at an acceptable price. One wrinkle, the posted pending amount on my credit card was $40 over the amount quoted by booking.com. I called to question this and was told this was their practice to cover "incidentals" and that the final billing would be the correct amount. This turned out to be true a couple of days later.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. Upon my arrival I wasn't very sure of my choice, because it is a open hotel, meaning the rooms are accessed straight from the parking lot and you don't have to walk through the lobby to enter. Nevertheless, I was amazed by the hotel cleanness and service.

We needed a 2 night stay in the Socorro area and choose the Best Western. As a rewards member we redeemed points for one night and paid for the 2nd night. The clerk that checked us in was excellent with explaining that since we had two reservations we would need to get the key rescanned so it would work for the second night. The next morning when we went down for breakfast the front desk staff were expecting us since the night clerk left a note and everything was taken care of efficiently which was greatly appreciated! Speaking of breakfast, there were cereals, breads, yogurt, boiled eggs plus at least one meat and eggs rotating each day so there were plenty of options. This was a nice, clean yet older hotel but we really enjoyed our stay.

THis is an aging hotel that was probably built in the 60's. It is located in a small town on a major highway heading SW and there are at least 4 other chain hotels built around the same time. Suggestion: Stay at a Best Western closer to Albuquerque.

My daughter and I were traveling home from Idaho to Las Cruces. It was suppose to be a two day trip but we hit a bad storm in Socorro and decided to pull over and find a room since the freeway conditions were so bad. Thankfully the Best Western had a room available. The young man at the desk was gracious and helpful. It turned out to be a nice culminating stop during our vacation and we continued home safely well rested the next morning.

Quick check in and quick check out. Internet service was good, it disconnects your device due to inactivity. Breakfast is limited to fruit and cereals, due to COVID-19 limitations, So prepare accordingly.

After a long drive, it was refreshing to land in a hotel with an extremely friendly desk person. This is not a brand new place, but was exceptionally clean and very quiet at night. I loved the old style of motel, where you can back your car right up to the door to unload, and it feels safe to have it right there, rather than out of sight 3 floors down.

After being on a road trip for almost 2 week, this was the final hotel I stayed in before arriving home to Houston, TX. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the room at eh cleanliness and size of the King suite. After a good night's sleep, I overslept a little bit but when I went to the lobby for the grab and go breakfast around 9:45, the receptionist happily went in the back and grabbed some breakfast for me. The staff was super friendly and I will definitely stay at another Best Western again.

I stayed for 4 nights to attend training at NMT and this hotel was clean and offered everything that I needed. The room was dated but everything worked and was comfortable for the week. The "Covid adjusted" breakfast worked out well, just make sure to ask for the breakfast sandwich if you want one (Jimmy Deans - sausage and egg) they will heat it up or you can just heat in your room.

Hotel was decent, clean. They suspected that smoking occurred in room due to extinguished cigar in garbage can; honest assessment at first glance. Was not the case; smoked earlier in day at other location; kept for later. They charged card without permission or communication. Called General Manger Erica to explain that no smoking occurred in room and requested $215.65 returned to my account. I was advised that they cleaned (scrubbed walls and everything) and they will not refund. Completely disgusting way to call somebody a liar and steal money.

My wife and I passed thru this desert town on a Harley after a 2000 mile ride thru the AZ/NM desert in late April 2021.Fantastic hotel of the BW chain. Front desk kind and pleasant! Probably among the very best of the BW chain! Rooms charming with nice decor and very comfy.and a room you wana hang out. Breakfast , a grab and go, due to Covid, was very generous and delish. For dinner head to the brewery a block away, fantastic draft beer and very delish non fast food with great service. When in Socorro take time to visit the Mineral Museum which is among the best in the the US and the world with 3000 plus rocks on display. A unique place. BW Socorro a definite winner!!

Very friendly and clean hotel easy access and very understanding about where we parked our bikes. We were able to see our bikes from the room. Internet was out standing. We plan to stop here on our next trip

Our stay at this Best Western Hotel was very comfortable and the price was very reasonable. Staff was friendly and our room was clean. We did not have the breakfast but the breakfast choices were about average for what you get nowadays. There was a McDonald's next door so we opted for that.

Standard Best Western with small rooms. Good lighting. Adequate outlets without USB ports. One of the smallest bathrooms in a hotel I have seen. Very small vanity. Limited hanging clothes space. Seems clean. Grab and Go breakfast. Good internet.

My family and I have been going to Socorro numerous times they past 3 years. We have stayed at a number of the hotels in the this town and Best Western is the best of the bunch. My only compliant is the beds were not queen size, we made it work but it would of been better with queen size beds. I can't say anything about the pool or breakfast area because the pool was closed and we didn't get up in time for breakfast. Overall this is the a nice hotel for a decent price. We will be using this one again.

This worked out well on an impromptu trip with my dog to the bird sanctuary near by. It had outside doors so I could back right up to my room to unload and not take him through the hotel. The room was comfortable, had a big fridge, comfy bed, lots of lights, a nice quiet side street to the back to stroll with my pupper. Quiet, good location near the exit of I-25. The check in process was friendly and efficient. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel on my next visit... Hopefully the breakfast bar will be back on! It looked like a good. set-up.. COVID prevented it's use unfortunately.

This place was not bad but it definitely needs to be on the hotel rescue. The room was fine very dated. The microwave was a 1970s model. The TV was old. The decorations need updated. The room was fine but it needs modernized.

we stayed in the king suite. basicly a good stay. room is starting to show it's age but with covid killing it's business, i'm betting no updates are coming! breakfast in a bag, worked well. Front desk was excellent. we stayed on january 8,2021. only drive thru fast food for eating at night. wifi was good. heater was noisy but i think that can be fixed! I'm renting king suite's now from motels if they have them. lots more room with couch and chair for about $6 more. I'll stay here again!

I was so happy that I chose this hote to stay in! We were just taking a 2 day drive and had not planned where we would stop. This Best Western was so clean and well kept. In this day with the need for heightened cleaniness, I was very pleased with this hotel. I would go out of my way to stay here again.

I stay in Socorro at least 3 times per year. But, it has always been at the Holiday Inn Express which was booked up this time. So, this was my first experience with the Best Western (literally right next door to the HI Express). Good check-in staff. Got the room I wanted. Room had all the amenities with a very large refrigerator. Elevator was hard to find. So, if you have mobility issues, you'll want to check that with the desk. A nice touch was that the to-go breakfast was given out in a brown paper bag! Not a single-use plastic bag. The breakfast itself wasn't much but is similar to others I've had during Covid. If I weren't a Gold Elite member of the Holiday Inn Group, I would probably stay here often.

Fairly new hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. Was close to the Interstate and close to eateries. Parked a few feet from the hotel door and our room. Had a few items offered for breakfast in morn - as we headed out on a road adventure. Would come back here.

Didn't honor reservation for 1st. Floor king room. Offered a 2 queen room on1st. Floor which we said would be fine. The problem was it was a 1 queen room, not 2 and was tiny. We were greeted by cockroaches and shared the room with them. Francisco and Rebecka at the front desk were useless and unhelpful, just kept saying sorry for the mixup.Don't believe the reviews saying this is a very good hotel.They don't do anything to make it right. I asked to talk to the manager but was told she was unavailable.The original reservation was made by Lucas.

The room was clean and comfortable. We've stayed here before but this time we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. Friendly staff and no hassle check in. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Great hotel and very helpful staff, but what's up with these stupid little pillows??? Best Western PLEASE go back to normal sized pillows. I don't know who came up with idea for these ridiculous pillows, I just know they are very annoying.

Great hotel, neat and clean. Everything was great except the worst pillows in the hisotry of hotels. Burn those things before I ever stay again, Service was geat, breakfast was good but the same as everywhere else.

Five stars at the BW in Socorro...would be six if the larger workout facility was 24/7 or opened earlier than 6a. The room was clean and HD television was most likely a 50". The shower had fantastic water pressure.

In a town of low-end, budget motels, this property fits right in. A drive up to the registration office had us sent to one of the higher priced rooms - located in the "annex" - which itself is situated behind the McDonald's. The door to our room would not open, which were told happens often in the annex. The room itself was nice enough. Furnishings were fairly new and well maintained. It was very clean. The letdown was the insistence on using those horrid efficiency lightbulbs that provide the garish, fluorescent type light onto everything. I have problem recommending this hotel; however, I don't think it earns a "very good" or "excellent" rating. You need to stay in Socoro one night? Stay here.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel grounds and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I appreciate the cleanliness of the property, location and the 24 hour fresh coffee available in their lobby..

Average hotel, upgrades needed for television and attention to painting. Paint on tiles in bathroom and lights. Good location off interstate, staff pleasant and helpful. Local Restaurants close as well as gas stations.

Older property with friendly staff. We stayed in 2 other hotels on this trip and this was the most expensive and least up to date. Hotel is convenient to fast food. Breakfast was less than at the other Best Westerns along the way

Being the fifth Best Western Hotel since leaving Quebec City, we were dissapointed with the price of the room which, in our view, was not worth more than others that we stayed before(price was $40. more than others. They seemed more interested in accomodating groups than individuals. We were located on another building than the main building. Room was clean...with only tap water. Breakfast was ok...

We look for places near EV charging (Tesla). This motel offers two charging ports. The motel has two sections, main and annex. We stayed in annex, by charger. The rooms are spacious, very quiet. The hotel is right off the freeway, but no freeway noise. Fitness center, pool, nice breakfast. We will stay again.

The hotel was very busy due to the Trinity Site Open House. It seemed that nearly everyone there was going to Trinity. Breakfast was standard, but well supplied for the crowd. Thankfully they had a good laundry room with 2 sets of machines, as we had been in Mesa Verde before arriving in Socorro. We were in a connecting building to the pool and breakfast room. All rooms have outside doors.

Clean, and nicely furnished and a staff that was very helpful. The room and the lobby were very clean and neat. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The mattress and bed bedspread, as well as sheets were clean and neat, appearing to be new.

Stayed to see birds at reserve. Room good, easy access, lots of restaurants, good breakfast but starts a 6 am which is too late for birders. Apparently they have a to go breakfast but front desk did not give me this option when I asked if they had an earlier breakfast. Worth a stay.

The staff was very helpful and nice to me. I had no issues were they need to be addressed. I would stay with Best Western again continue with treating customers very well, and making there stay a great one with you.

The hotel is nice for the size of the town. the food in the morning was very good and the dinning area was clean. the rooms were clean and the cleaning service did a good job of tiddying up. the gym is small but all the equipment worked. the pool is is indoors and very clear.

The hotel was clean and nice. The gym was a standard hotel gym. Not really worth the effort to get in the door. My only real complaint is the door locks, they were super finicky. Took me about 30 seconds of fiddling every time I needed to unlock a door.

Good clean restful overnight stop for us on our trip to our winter home in AZ. Always clean and friendly with a good breakfast. We use Best Western motels exclusively. All we use on our tip are clean and reasonably priced. Most have been newly renovated. The rewards program makes it a good option if you use motels very often. Most take pets for an extra charge,which we use.

Accommodation is acceptable in cleanliness but lacks basic amenities in today's market-like elevators and USB outlets in the rooms. The rates are excessive being about $30/nite more than all the other Best Western rooms we stay in across the country. Unfortunately it is the only Best Western within 100 miles in NM, when coming from the East.

Highly recomended for a getaway weekend, ammenities are superb, the hot b-fast had my kids super happy, the pool is very clean, staff super friendly and willing to help us, they take a lot of pride on this hotel, and keeping it up to par. The town is quiet, with some little shoppes scattered thru town making it fun to walk. Im gonna return just to scape the city.

I had a meeting in Albuquerque when the balloons were ascending. Socorro was the answer. I think it will be the answer for our future Alb. stays. The staff is first class. The rooms are well appointed, clean. The breakfast is good, if usual. (Someday one of these chains will break out with more venturesome breakfasts.) We have usually stayed in Hampton Inn but the Socorro Best Western is causing us to reevaluate.

There are only a few hotels in Socorro New Mexico and this hotel rates in the average category. Check in was supposed to be 4 P.M. but I wasn't able to check in until 7:15 P.M. The staff did nothing to speed up the process or offer me any type of explanation other than it wasn't ready.

The Customer Service was outstanding, breakfast was great and the overall stay was awesome. When I return back to the town, I'm making sure I book with Best Western again, great location and business area.

We stayed here as our normal hotel in the area was fully booked. The cost is a little more than we normally pay but because of our positive experience this is now our preferred area hotel. Bed is comfy, upgraded bedding, lots of space, good water pressure, in room coffee n fridge. Good hot breakfast.

Should you ever stay in Socorro, New Mexico The Best Western is by far the place to stay. No other hotel or motel can compare. The service is A-1 you can't beat the cleanliness and how helpful everyone is to make you feel at home.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting for the Socorro Pow Wow this last weekend. The rooms were clean, breakfast tasty and the staff everywhere were so nice. It is very central to everything we needed

Hands down the worst experience with hotel staff and management ever. When we checked in, we were assured by the staff that our room charges would be split equally. (This was a business trip.) On Saturday, September 14th, we returned to the room from a seminar only to find that no one had serviced our room. When I called down to the front desk to ask about the maid service, I was advised that the hotel was very busy and that the maids were not getting to all the rooms. They never did get to ours. Also complained that the television was not working. They acknowledged the problem but did nothing about it. When we checked out, the bill was not split as promised and the charges had been put on only one card. When I spoke to the manager yesterday, (5 days after checking out) she insisted that it would be taken care of. It hasn't, and she failed to address my complaints about the maid service and television. Obviously, her only concern was the money, not our dissatisfaction with the lack of service, etc. She also did not return my later calls to try to rectify this situation. Totally unprofessional and incompetent staff and manager. Would never stay there again.

While the location close to a park in Socorro and not too far from Albuquerque enhance the B.W. of Socorro, after 7 nights on the road, the B.W. of Socorro is the highest priced one and that's before adding on the pet fee! The best and only positive part of staying there is the excellent park nearby to walk our poodle. Would we stay there again? No. Had we not called back two days later, we would have been seriously over-charged. The B.W. gift card didn't show up anywhere as a credit on the bill. The next day after the call, oops! The original charge didn't go through and a newer one, much reduced did. No, there are lots of good motels to choose from.

A pleasant surprise in small town NM to have a nice clean up to date hotel with helpful and friendly staff smiling at you. The front desk was very busy when we checked in and they had been booked full the night before so the cleaning staff was overwhelmed but they all remained professional and cheerful and the rooms were neat, clean and smelled good when we got there. Beds were comfortable, nice sized room and bathroom with kitchenette. Perfect for a business weekend.

I reserved a king room with sofa. I'll attach a photo of the single chair we got instead. When I checked in, the clerk said we'd be in the annex, a building behind McDonald's. We're on the second floor, and there is no elevator. I'm reviewing while I catch my breath. I don't know when or where breakfast is.

Staff at this location are friendly, competent, and accommodating; they understand guest needs and are willing to assist as-needed. Facility is well-located, near restaurants, and is safe. Have stayed here various times and have always been well-received.

Our way to Durango. Clean, spacious and welcoming. Staff very friendly. Exterior entrance to room may be only downside. Breakfast is typical but just fine. Fast food and sit down restaurants in walking distance. Great value for price.

Travelocity screwed up reservations and had me arriving a week later, but same young man helped me get a room and a cancellation from Travelocity. near lots of gas stations and fast food spots

Last minute reservations. Decided to call it a night. Sonic food and clean hotel. Great starter breakfast as well. Staff was very professional. The suite a mini King room was very spacious can only imagine what the normal Suite looks like

The service was speedy and good. The facility is an interesting mix of modern center hallway and updated Outside Entrance Rooms. While the rooms were smallish (we were in an outside entrance room) it was clean and neat, with up to date decor. My only knock was the air conditioner in our room was pretty tired. I can't really tell you much more as it was a place to get a shower and shave before hitting the road the next morning but for that purpose it did its job.

Was initially hesitant when making the reservation. Had never stayed at a Best Western before but was impressed with the stay and pleasantly surprised by their annex. The main building is more like a motel (door open to parking lot) while the annex is more of a hotel experience. A/C worked great (thank goodness). The rooms were big and clean.

Friendly, professional staff, went out of their way to accommodate requests. Clean comfortable room. Nice indoor pool, healthy breakfast with oatmeal and fruit. Will stay here anytime I am in Socorro.

The lighting MASTER SWITCH by the room door, always kept the hall light on and would control the rest of the other lights in the room! (Never experienced this in any other hotels?) The front desk employees was very helpful and friendly when checking in and checking out. "Cindy" was very helpful with where to eat for authentic Mexican food. The faucet handle in bathroom had to be pushed down hard to make faucet keep from dripping constantly. Breakfast was excellent!

Socorro is one of those places that when you finally get there, you are glad something is there. Miles and miles of nowhere on both sides of Socorro. Seeing the Best Western sign os a welcome sight. The Best Western Socorro is well managed and comfortable at a reasonable price. I slept well in the bed and that's really what matters, right?

We stayed here five nights while touring Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. This hotel is a reasonable distance from the refuge, with plenty of parking. Our room was in an annex, separate from the main hotel, which was a little unusual, but worked out fine. The room was spacious and comfortable with comfortable beds. Adequate counter space in bathroom for toiletries. Room was reasonably quiet. Recommended, especially for anyone visiting the wildlife refuge.

Frequent customer for work in Socorro (hopefully not too much longer)... It's an okay hotel but on the pricey side for all the LOUD "first responders" and construction workers that tend to party outside your door. Whether its policy or just plain laziness the front desk regularly programs my key for only the first day of my stay when they know I'm booked for four or five days at a time. It's becoming irritating having to go and get my key reprogrammed on a regular basis, EVERY dang time I stay here, to get back into my room! Nice enough staff but c'mon I know you guys can do better than this.

The room we had was huge, couch and lazy chairs, big screen TV. Really great. This room is situated in the annex, so not the main building. From the start we had trouble opening the building door with the key card. It took about 10 attempts to open the door. (This is the result of many people using the card slot which results in dust and dirt inside the slot) after mentioning this at the reception desk it took until two days to solve this. I think more guests must have complained. Breakfast is served with the use of paper plates and plastic cutlery, as mentioned before, I don't like that. AC works fine, there is some traffic noise from the road but not disturbing. A lot of restaurants in walking distance.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Our room was situated in the annexe and was large and clean. The roomtemperature was a bit difficult to control, either a bit to warm or a bit too cold. Maybe they can install a thermostat some day. Breakfast was a notch above other BW's we stayed in: more choice and the tables were kept very clean. Only BW's policy of using disposable plates and cutlery is beyond our comprehension. The amount of waste after breakfast is quite impressive.

We always stay here when we come to visit family. It is clean and well kept. I do wish they would not use air freshener in the rooms as it really bothers my husband and i and he has breathing issues. I have to leave the door open for awhile. It is not a fancy place but it is clean and we love the frig and microwave. Be nice if there was an online TV guide but we survived. Appreciated being in the main building as if I swim, that is where the pool is. We were in the main area in a downstairs room which was great. We will stay again.

Our group has been coming to this hotel two times per year since 2001. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else, and some of us travel most of a day to get here! The facility suits our needs perfectly and the staff is like family. We can not say enough good things at Best Western Socorro!

Had a good two nights. Very quiet room to room. The only draw back is the in wall air conditioning. The Mc Donalds next door is convient but a little noisy since it is open 24 hours but not a deal breaker. I would recommend Bodega Burger for dinner. Excellent. Stayed here for the Trinity Site and VLA open houses and the location was perfect. If you are gooing west from here, stop at The Gathering Place in Pie Town.

The decor was updated tastefully. The staff were friendly and very competent. The room was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable, though not luxurious. What more could you ask? The next time I come through Socorro, NM, I will definitely stay here again!

This BW is one of the worst, certainly far short of glowing online reviews. Room had not been updated in what seemed like decades. Old worn carpet. Bathroom so tiny, a large person could not have sat on toilet without removing toilet paper holder. Coffee maker only works by bathroom sink. Everything about this hotel is dated except the price, which exceeded telephone quote and was much more than it should have been considering the quality of the room.

It was a nice place but w you can hear everything that is going on out side. The room I was would pull in alot of smoke from smokers through the AC. The hotel needs a update to stay up with the times.

Its conveniently located right by several restaurants. Two minutes drive to the major hwy. Spacious rooms. Plenty of parking space. Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms are clean with basic amenities. Breakfast is ok.

Would have been 3 or 4 stars. But when housekeeping comes in to my room when the DND is in the key slot and mess with my stuff is wrong!! And the front desk didn't care. And no one called me about it. Breakfast is ok. Biscuits are rock hard. But other than that it's ok. Our room had a gap at bottom of door. Door knob needs to be fixed had to mess with it every time to get in room. But rooms all and all ok. Workout room is not the one in picture (lobby area). Very small and TV didn't work. At least no remote in the room so it may work. Shouldn't have to ask front desk for it. When I did have to ask for items at front desk they are very nice. But the one I told about housekeeping coming in my room not happy with.

This is my go-to on my way down to AZ every year. Great staff, nice rooms with outside doors (super for unloading/loading and taking the dogs out). The park across the street has a nice walking trail with a lovely view of the mountain. At Little Caesar's or Domino's you can order Hatch chiles on your pizza...what a treat! Best of all for me there is next to no fragrance or room "freshener," which makes me very ill (dangerous on a long trip). I definitely recommend this hotel if you have pets or are allergic to chemicals, and I will definitely be back next year!

The staff was nice but it went downhill from there. Thin sheets, crummy pillows and uncomfortable bed. The towels were thin and small and the bathroom and sink areas could have used some additional cleaning but it may have also been the age of the building and furniture that made it hard to get to a Best Western cleanliness standard. It was definitely not up to the quality of other Best Western Hotels we've stayed at. It was a really poor value from our perspective.

Socorro was the most interesting place to stay. The hotel offered everything we could hope for and the staff were so courteous and friendly. Loved the big bed and the room was perfect. I will definitely be going back to that area one day to check out more of the adventures and look forward to staying at the Best Western again.

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to let folks know how pleasantly surprised I was to have these great accommodations in such a small town. The bed was comfy, the hot water instant and plentiful enough for a nice soaking bath, and the towels were absorbent and soft. I especially liked the separate station with another sink, the coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator. Not having to wash dishes in the bathroom sink made this stay the best.

This is a friendly environment, they are well accommodating, the breakfast is warm and good there is always a warm smiling face at the breakfast bar and the front desk is warm welcoming and smiling, The beds are comfy the rooms are welcomeing when you walk in. I would highly recommend this hotel for family's and friends or a get away or just passing through!

Socorro doesn't have a wealth of places to stay. And no really unique lodging. We were here to tour the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge (wonderful by the way). We had stayed in Socorro last year and discovered the same thing - no interesting hotel/motels. As I checked around, the Best Western had good rates and was convenient to the Interstate (if it's not on California Street in Socorro, it's not new or modern). We decided to stay here. Checking in was pleasant. The desk clerk was a bit vague about eating establishments and pubs (mostly because there weren't many). Not overly knowledgeable. A surprise was that all of the rooms open out into the parking lot. Good news/bad news. Close to the car. But not feels a bit low class. The room is nice. Clean (of upmost importance to me). It had the usual - king bed, two bed tables, a credenza with TV, a stand with microwave and mini-fridge. There is a small seating area with a sofa the side chair (a bit cramped) and a small writing desk with chair. There is a breakfast area off the lobby. It was comfortable. Breakfast was the usual chain fare - sausage, eggs, cereal, OJ, coffee, breads, a waffle maker. They also had a semblance of makings for a breakfast burrito (but not really much stuff to put in the tortillas they had out). As my wife and I discussed, I'm not sure what else a place can do for a breakfast. This one was fine. But quite average and unexceptional. All-in-all the experience was fine. We stayed here two nights and would do so again should we be here in Socorro.

Pros: nice decor and room lighting. No interior halls, so you can unload your car close to your room, if you are on the first floor. Cons: we booked for three nights. First night fine. Second night they booked a young family next to us in an adjoining room--door between our room and theirs did not provide much sound-proofing. Crying baby, crying toddler, loud parents, pots and pans rattling..We were in bed at 9 pm and called to complain. Clerk said we could move to another room, but the young family had a right to make all the noise they wanted. When I protested she hung up. 2 am more crying. 4 am more crying. Fortunately we did not pay in advance, so left the next day and did not stay the third night and did not have to pay for it. We moved to Econo Lodge--quite nice, peace and quiet, a 5:30 am breakfast, and about half the price of Best Western.

This is the second time we've stayed here when visiting Bosque del Apache NWR. The front desk staff are so nice and accommodating. Azula was great on the phone as well as when we checked in. Our room was not ready yet, but she kept checking with housekeeping while we waited. Clean rooms with updated carpets and lots of light.

Friendly staff. We ate breakfast here on five mornings and it was always good with the egg selection rotating on a three day basis. Unfortunately, breakfast not served until seven on the weekend but the receptionist kindly obliged and found us some hard boiled eggs. Room was cleaned very well. Normally would have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next door (same ownership as the Best Western) but could not justify and extra $60 a night plus tax at the Holiday Inn Express. Free wifi. Was frustrating to have to log in again every night. Signal was good. Light in room was a little dim. All rooms open to the outside. Hotel is a little dated but well maintained.

This is our "go to" place to stay when photographing the snow geese and sand hill cranes at Bosque Del Apache every winter. Never disappoints. This year we brought friends along from California and they enjoyed the stay every bit as much as we did

Have stayed at several other motels in Socorro over the years and BW is excellent. Very good breakfast with more choices than the average. Found it very clean. Most motels give you a choice in having towels, etc replaced daily and many, this BW included, claim a desire to not waste water. We found the staff replaced towels, etc even though we followed their rules to leave them (we were there for several days and didn't feel the need to replace daily), they were replaced. A simple note solved that issue. We always opt for an upstairs room if available, much quieter and in this case you may want to get a room in the middle of the complex (we were in annex), gets you a little more insulation from highway noise. Next time we are visiting Bosque del Apache we will stay here.

This hotel is an excellent place to stay in Socorro. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I think the price of the room is a bargain. However, I have had better breakfast bars at other Best Westerns. I would suggest going out for breakfast if you can.

Typical BW in terms of professional staff, cleanliness, best bed in a motel chain, and good breakfast. Quiet and excellent location, Professional staff though seemed overworked (came in at 6 and one poor guy was doing all the work-- line was slow). Very good breakfast. Happy to see the very nice crockpot oatmeal they are serving, not so happy with weird packed boiled eggs. Breakfast staff person was outstanding and friendly. However, take out breakfast for Bosque del Apache not worth getting, next door to McDs. Comfy quiet rooms, beds. Only problem, imo, was the forced air heating, would have liked a better wall based thermostat. Net was slow one day, but to be fair just switching to new system. Will stay here again.

this hotel is off the main street a bit which helps with the noise pollution. we were on the first floor and the noise from the top floor was a bit too much. overall, it is clean, the staff friendly with a good breakfast served at six.

The room was fine, beds comfortable, many pillows. We left some gear behind when we departed. When we called to see if it had been found, staff had it and told us how to allow them to ship it to us. They were so efficient and helpful. We will always stay at the Best Western when we're in Socorro.

Enjoyed the comfortable, relaxing stay. The room was enjoyed because it was so quiet, I feared it was so close to the Freeway. I slept wonderfully. We took our coffee to go for our 6am meeting with the birds at Bosque del Apache. Coming back in April. Thank you.

we've stayed at this hotel every year for at least 3 years for the crane festival and art and craft fair at the opera house - staff has always been welcoming, and the same staff has been there every year, and they recognize us when we return

After staying here numerous times over the past 10-15 years I will not be back. One bad room key card is a maybe, but having to do this twice after a long day is just not acceptable. Have complained to management, will see what comes of that.

I've stayed at the Best Western Socorro at six times for four nights each time while visiting the Bosque National Wildlife Refuge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday. The hotel is easy on-and-off from the interstate and many restaurants are within walking distance. I've never had a bad stay here.

Had to stay in an annex building 1/2 block form all amenities breakfast, pool, etc. Room smelled as if there were dirty diapers scattered about. Front desk girl at check in was rude no acknowledgement for being a gold member. A key card lock problem on an exterior door that was addressed by several was dismissed by this girl as just lift up on the handle that is what the maids do. No where near usual Best Western Standards.

Have stayed at this Best Western several times. Nice simple and relatively quiet rooms. Breakfast is typically what you find at this class of hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Exercise facilities are average.

All in all the Best Western is a nice place to stay especially if you get it selected for IRTB. The annex is a lot newer and has interior hallways so I would recommend trying to get that side. The rooms are fine bathroom was ok shower tub combo was very squeaky but go the job done. Staff are very accommodating and professional. Full breakfast starting at 0600 and has eggs, meats, waffles, along with pastries, yogurts, and an assortment of other things.

This hotel is nice. The bathroom is a bit dated and tub is plastic but it was all clean. Room was quite and bed comfortable. TV was big and new. Only complaint was the disappointing breakfast. I stayed two nights and it was all good. Plenty of parking.

This is a motel, not a hotel. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm, but our room was not ready when we arrived at 4:45. They didn't have our room ready until 5:30pm. They cleaned our room at dusk, so we had mosquitoes and a fly in our room. We got several mosquito bites while staying in the room.

There's not a lot of great hotel choices in Socorro. For example no Marriott's or Hilton's, so I settled on Best Western. This is an older hotel will all outside access rooms. I know some people feel more secure with a room that can only be accessed by the inside, but this wasn't bad. In fact it was kind of nice to be able to back up to my door an unload the car. Room was decent and clean, we stayed 3 nights and never had room service. Seems they take care of all the check out rooms first and by the time they got to us we were back in our room for the day. Free breakfast was good but often quite crowded.

We stay here going to and from Colorado. We have cats so it is nice they accept them and the pet rate is good. Breakfast is always good and the staff has always been helpful and try their best to make our stay pleasant. We will stay again.

We stayed here last night for one night. A late check-in after 9pm; the front desk staff was competent and courteous. Our room was no è, 2 queen beds, fridge, tv, dresser. The room was clean and appeared to have been updated somewhat recently. We arrived too late to use the indoor pool but it looked great.

Very good hotel. Clean. Nice towels. Fast internet and WiFi. Check in was easy. The annex seemed to be a popular request as it is a newer building separate from the main building. Maid was great. Room was big and clean. Breakfast was ok. The staff for breakfast was great. Willing to help and clean. Coffee was ok. Food so so. Nice selection though. Bagels, bread, yogurt, eggs, oatmeal, fruit, waffles , etc.... Good location. Next to McDonald's and a 7-11. Check out was easy too. Would recommend and would stay again.

I'd look for a different hotel my next visit to Socorro. 1) Creakiest tub in history--loud squeaks when you shifted your weight. I pity the people in the room beneath us 2) Bathroom door was misaligned and couldn't be closed 3) Desk chair was very uncomfortable--leaned back way too far 4) For this price, I would expect inside entrances 5) Breakfast area was very crowded when we were there, due to a poor layout 6) We both thought the coffee was terrible On the other hand: 1) Good selection of breakfast items. Website said "hard-boiled eggs" but they had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy 2) Internet worked real well 3) Beds were quite comfortable

(1) The cigarette/air freshener smell was so strong in our first room, we had to go all the way back down to the lobby to request another room, and then move all of our things. (2) On several occasions there no one present at the front desk for several minutes, and the front desk phone was not answered at all the three times I tried to call. (3) Our room was not cleaned the second day of our stay, even though the “Do Not Disturb” sign was removed at 11am. (4) There were no eggs at the buffet on two trips we made down there at 6 am and again at 8:30am. (5) Our toilet overflowed all over the bathroom floor our last morning for no reason after being flushed-the front desk was mobbed when this happened so we had to track housekeeping down and get a plunger and try to fix it ourselves. The toilet was also leaking from the valve used to turn off the water. As it was leaking into the room below, we had several people knock on our door as we were trying to dress and pack to leave, and come inside to work on the toilet. This was not a great stay.... (6) Also, the hotel policy of charging for USA Today is a bit much.

I've used BW for many years; Looks great, but acoustics extremely POOR. Couldn't sleep due to adjoining & above NOISE LEVELS from showers & walking (simply walking) guest noises... well into the late hours. Spatial and furnishings, layout & room design... HORRIBLE. Sharp, pointy edges next to bedside & all dressers & desks... same! Oh, internet Trip Advisor quoted $20 less than my arrival charge... senior, military & AAA status didn't matter. BE, you've got to improve yourself; franchisees as this Socorro Hotel & Suites are dragging your business “down the river.”

Highly recommend this hotel. It is nicely appointed which was a surprise for the small town we were in. The breakfast buffett was terrific: fried eggs as opposed to the usual rubbery scrambled eggs, plain greek yogurt with toppings, almond milk available, a variety of breads (raisin bread was nice surprise), hard boiled eggds, and a variety of fresh fruit.

The Best Western in Socorro has to be the number one hotel in town. We stay there a couple times a year. The rooms are clean, attractive, and well appointed. The staff are courteous and helpful. We usually stay in the annex very quiet. The breakfast has all the usual breakfast items in an attractive setting.

Just stopping for the night along I-25. Socorro is a nice town with plenty of hotels and restaurants. The staff at the Best Western Socorro were friendly, professional and helpful. We are an older couple and a staff member helped us with our suitcases. We highly recommend staying at this hotel. We have always enjoyed staying at Best Western Hotels.

My truck broke down 25 miles south of Socorro on Tuesday night. I was towed to the Best Western. I was obviously a bit shaken and the check in clerk was very patient and kind. Throughout the next day all of the staff were kind, helpful and completely outstanding! Not just to me, but I saw interactions with other guests and fellow staff members.

last time we stated in annex which is interior but this time were in main building with outside door. room was again clean and comfortable and beds were awesome. little weird that 2 chairs and table were right in front of frig just inside room which was a little inconvenient. Was very quiet for a good nights sleep and the breakfast was very good with a couple of hot items. had finished their remodeling from last time and it was very nice. desk at night was wonderful to work with but when we checked out the morning gal was very unpleasant and almost rude...don't know what her problem was all we wanted to do was advise our room was vacant.....

4th time staying here over the years, pleasant staff, clean rooms,nice area and good amenities. Anytime I'm out that way, I will stay here. Only one thing I might request is having air conditioning in the pool area, I enjoy a hot tub but the pool was almost as hot as the hot tub.

It's clean basic, better than twice the price at Holiday Inn. What makes it better is Gina at the front desk, great customer service & very cheerful. Be sure to ask for the most updated room. Has a blower heating/cooling, but you can set it so it doesn't go on & off all night.

Nothing bad to say about our stay. Clean rooms, friendly service and staff and hot continental breakfast. Indoor pool was great also as who likes to sweat while swimming! Located within several restaurants and college close-by. Would recommend to all if traveling through the area.

It was a great comfortable stay. Hotel staff was friendly and with the many local restarants in the neighborhood, looking for something to dine on was very easy. Also, getting to the hotel was simple and sweet.

I was surprised when I got to this room, when I booked, the price for a typical room with two beds was the exact same price as a king bed suite. Very nice room, lots of room, very clean, pretty soft bed. The layout is not great, if you sit on the couch or chair, you can not see the TV. Nice desk to work at.

This Best Western provided quiet and comfortable rooms that were more than sufficient for my business stay. The Hotel location is very convenient to New Mexico Tech and the NRAO Array Operations Center - and well most of the other attractions in Socorro. The continental breakfast provided was OK but the coffee provided (24-7) is well above average!

It is an older hotel that has been updated. Great lobby and breakfast area. The pool was great and the hot tub was actually hot! Rooms felt a little dated but more because of the old style of hotel. Breakfast staff was very friendly and accommodating.

While going to training at NMT, I stayed at this hotel. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, the complementary breakfast is great and the location is central. Now the bad stuff. This hotel is basically a revamped motel. The bathrooms are small and had few amenities. My bathroom had some minor issues. The bathroom door could not close. The exhaust fan was very loud. The bathtub appears to be a bath fitter insert. When I stood on it, The bathtub made ungodly noises. The rooms use individual air conditioner units which are loud and are hard to find the optimum room temperature. The hotel did not have an elevator, so if a person is disabled, they have to stay in the first floor. The hotel also has an annex which is about a 5 minute walk away. I did not stay at the annex so I cannot report on it. The hotel has a small pool with a hot tub. But the hot was out of order and doesn't appear to have worked in a while. The main hotel had a small work out Gym. If your looking for a clean quick hotel that is reasonable, then this is your place. If you are looking for a higher end hotel, then don't.

The refrigerator didn't work. The hot tub was out of order. Breakfast was bad. No elevator so have fun with heavy luggage. Notes in the reservation were ignored. At least there is a McDonald's across the parking lot.

I stayed here for two nights of photography. Everything went very smoothly. The room was clean, the breakfast was fine and the coffee was good. Erika at the front desk went out of her way to be helpful - she's a real human being.

Looking at reviews the Best Western seems to stack up well against other hotels in town. I stayed on a Friday night and paid just over $100 and the only hotel more expensive was the holiday inn. Check in was slow as there are numerous people in town who need extended stays for business. They were taken care of and we were given room 108. This room is in the old side of the hotel and not the “annex” building which is newer. Room 108 and most of the other rooms in the old side I imagine are very small as it is an old true motor hotel. The two double beds were crammed in and it smelled like your grandmas house, granted this scent is hard to avoid with a building that is about 50 years old. The beds were fine and the room was quiet as the hotel was mostly empty. Now to some of the major detractors. The ac barley worked and despite it being on the entire time we were in the room the temperature never went below 79. Part of this issue is the door had become so warped over the years you can see light and what is going on outside between the frame and the door. The bathtub also could not hold water so that was out of the question. What I did like though is both hot tubs were broken, but they did make sure that everyone knew they could go to the holiday inn next door and use there's! It was a good touch. Overall I was disappointed especially for the price. For 70 I could live with it but once you cross 100 for a cheap room none the less you expect more. Your experience may change in the other building but keep in mind you could end up in the old building.

First time in this hotel, based on the other good reviews. The place is very nice and peaceful. I normally do not sleep well on the first night of our vacations, but I did sleep well and all night. Breakfast was amazing. They had southwestern omelets. A person tended to the breakfast bar the entire time we were there having breakfast. OH, and the breakfast area was very spacious! I would definitely stay again if in the area.

Average room that suits the needs. There is a couch and a chair, which was comfortable for us, as we spent quite some time in our room. Good beds and a poor fast food breakfast. There is an inside pool, we did not use, but would have liked a place to sit outside.

Check-in was a delight with casual, friendly banter with the front desk staff. Offered my hubby and I an upgrade to a king bed suite on first floor so us seniors didn't have to walk up the stairs to the standard room we had booked online. This at no additional cost to us. Our room was clean, comfortable and met all our needs for a one night stay. Yes, we could hear neighbors showering or speaking to each other, but it wasn't invasive. Otherwise we had a quiet night. Breakfast was standard fare but was freshly prepared and well presented.

I thought the appearance and staff were great. Annex building was more up to date but the main building was not. Breakfast was average and not very warm at all. The wfii was awful and horribly inconsistent. Fitness room in Annex was decent for a hotel. The elliptical inside was very loose and a safety hazard.

We recently stayed at this motel and if you're in the area, you won't go wrong if you decide to stay here. The staff was cheerful and very helpful. The room clean and breakfast filling. And if you're looking for a great place to eat, skip the chain places and go downtown!

Nothing special, but rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, which satisfied our two main criteria. The water pressure in the showers was surprisingly good. The service was friendly and good, too. The breakfast was the typical motel "hot" breakfast, not particularly spectacular, but the help seemed quick to keep supplies coming, which isn't always the case. My only complaint would be the strong air freshener smell that hit us when we walked into the room, but we simply left the door open for a bit until it evened out a bit. Oh yes.... our room did have a refrigerator, where we unloaded our few cooler drinks for the night.

Everything was nice; rooms clean, amenities adequate and full breakfast a pleasant surprise. We used the conference facility for my father's memorial and Erica was amazing! She helped us out in every way, was great to work with and went out of her way to be accommodating. Thanks to all at the BW in Socorro for making our visit as stress free as it could be under the circumstances.

Great place to stay while attending conferences, service was good as well as amenities. The fitness center was great especially having two places to work out in. Internet was great for the stay, overall good experience.

Not sure the definition of what a hotel is. I thought if the rooms where inside then its a hotel and if you can park your car at the front door on the outside its a Motel? Well this is a great place to stay! The office manager upgraded me to a suite for signing up with BW rewards! Huge room! Great free Wifi and huge TV! Bed was perfect not too hard or too soft! No outside noises! SUPER CLEAN ROOMS! The continental breakfast is above and beyond better than any other Hotel Ive stayed at before. So much to choose from!! Great Coffee! Very centrally located in Socorro!!! Don't remember if there was a fridge or microwave or not, but was not needed. Very good water pressure in the shower! Highly recommended place in town specially were the reviews for all but two others wasn't that great! Spend the extra money and sleep in comfort!

Rooms were very clean. Full Breakfast was great quality and staff is very accommodating and kind. The free internet works great. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi were amazing. The pool was kept at a very comfortable temperature. Michelle, Erica and jose at the front desk are very helpful. Tina at breakfast is very warm and welcoming. This is the BEST place to stay in Socorro.

Stayed here for an EMRTC class at New Mexico Tech. Stayed here for the OK reviews I read, but shouldve stayed somewhere else. A hotel receptionist called me around 9pm the night before arrival and threatened to cancel my room if I didnt put down a credit card to reserve the room. I told her the room was prepaid by New Mexico Tech/FEMA. She said

Place definitely doesn't have much to offer, is a small quite town but the personnel is nice, rooms are clean, good breakfast and they got wi-fi ( not the best speed is like 10mps). Rooms have A/C and cable, and parking . For business is nice but not for vacations.

We needed a place to stay near the Trinity site and the Best Western served its purpose but I wouldn't rush back. Staff were friendly, room was clean and breakfast was good, but walls must have been very thin as we were troubled by noise most of the night - could hear people walking around in the room above, sound of toilet flushing next door, people talking in the room beside us etc. Otherwise ok,

This is my go-to for my last travel day on the way to AZ. Super staff, very much on the ball, problem-solving, proactive, hard-working people. Room was very nice and I love the motor lodge style, easy to load/unload and take the dog out to the fantastic park across the highway with a rec trail & breathtaking view of the mountain. Well-lit parking lot made me feel very safe. The room was clean, not too heavily fragranced (a real problem for me when I travel), and everything worked. Really my favorite place to stay traveling across the country with my dog! Local food tip: I'm not a Little Caesar's Pizza fan, but they offer Hatch chiles as a topping and it elevates ordinary pizza to a real treat...try it!

I travel to Socorro to work often and nice to have a good room with an outside front door.. I don't like being cooped up on some floor with no widows that open or have a balcony.. This place is super clean. The staff is just wonderful. Since it's was a work trip and was just there to sleep I like how quiet it was.. Good people and a good place to stay.

We try to stay at BW whenever possible. I think they have the best breakfasts on the road. They are pet friendly, clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in and Check out is quick and efficient.

This hotel is pet-friendly, ckean, quiet, and within walking distance of restaurants. We have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has a go good hot breakfast, also, I always feel safe when i have to take my dog out during the night. It's a perfect halfway stop for us to many Southwest locations

Not sure of the other options to stay in if visiting the area, but this hotel was very average. The folks working there are certainly nice enough. Bed comfortable. Rooms a little out dated. Breakfast a little below average for "free." Fake fried eggs!! I do think they did have fruit. A problem for us was no elevator. We are 65+, and I was NOT a good packer on this trip. Our friends graciously took the second floor room. Had issues with the key to our room twice.

The new annex has pet restricted rooms that are perfectly appointed and very clean. The separate building has it's own sauna and exercise room, and is steps away from the original hotel where a pool is available, and breakfast is served. The staff was super helpful, and the price for an overnight is comparable to other better grade hotels in Socorro. We would definitely return.

A really good breakfast for a Best Western - more cereal choices, bread, pastries, hot oats etc. Room decor etc all good. Biggest downside was the thin walls. We could hear every word of the conversations in the next room, which at 2am was painful. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice hotel right off the interstate how was there for training at New Mexico Tech the breakfast in the morning was rotated daily and good. The coffee was available 24/7 the rooms were large well maintained the annex has a washer and dryer available for a dollar each. The hot tub was out of service while we were there. And I noted that the TV channels were limited. Only returning in April and will be staying here again.

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and the breakfast provided many options. We were also able to walk to various restaurants from this location. I would definitely recommend this hotel should you stay in Socorro.

Comfortable, modern, clean BW. Good breakfast, good bedding, Staff was a bit too quick to cancel our booking: we showed up in the afternoon but the room was not ready. We left for Bosque del Apache and said that we would come back around 8.00 pm. We discovered at that time that our booking was ... cancelled! Lack of coordination, folks ! But we had finally a nice stay.

We often stay in Socorro and this is the first time we tried the Best Western. We enjoy Bosque Del Apache wildlife refuge and the Best Western will be our go to hotel whenever we visit the refuge. Clean, comfortable, and good breakfast.

Very nice property, staff very helpful. The complementary breakfast is very complete and they change some of the selections every day. We would go to Bosque del Apache every morning for sunrise and return to the hotel about 9-9:15 only 15 minutes before the breakfast ended (it is open until 10 on weekends) but there were still plenty of options of food available. We were not rushed to leave after closing time. The location was very good with restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance.

This hotel was our second night from Iowa to Arizona. Nice hotel but a little spendy. They charge an extra $10 for your pet to stay in the room with you. A little dated but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

This is not a BW Plus so the rooms are fairly basic and small but clean. The lobby is a highlight with sculpted birds and other nice touches. Breakfast is decent and the lobby was thankfully playing CNN both times I was there as opposed to the often ubiquitous (and divisive) lobby programming. The pool was clean and big enough for some real swimming. Also, good location for walks to a couple of nice restaurants.

The rooms look exactly like they did 4 years ago. The hotel just updated to DirecTV and it isn't working in the rooms on the South side of the hotel. I told the front desk this and they said all they could do was to move us to a room on the North side. Why did they put us in a room on the South side if they knew the TVs don't work? Makes you wonder.

Nice hotel with free breakfast and evening nibbles, laundry, indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub. Newly remodelled reception with a stylish gas fireplace. Clean rooms with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Beds a bit bouncy, not really an issue as we had 2 queen beds.

Have stayed in many hotels in Socorro, Deming, Hobbs, Clovis, and other cities in southern NM. This was among the three best so far. Clean room. Hotel is very close to interstate, but we got a room on the quiet side of the hotel, so we didn't have any issue with noise.

The Best Western in Socorro, New Mexico is a clean and moderate motel that is conveniently located close to the freeway and close enough to a few restaurants and even NM Tech. The pool is great, good breakfast offered especially on the weekend. The cost is a very good rate for a nice and comfortable, however not fancy, room. The heating system was a bit noisy but we got used to that. The bed was ok, a king size bed, but could be a bit firmer and perhaps needs updating. The decor is basic. However the staff was very friendly, honest, on the ball, easy to talk to, and efficient. We were there for four nights and all cleaning was done efficiently and well.

This is a great hotel near the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. I've used this hotel for the past four years and haven't had any issues. The majority of the staff have been professional and friendly. Stay in the newer, larger rooms in the annex/by the convention center, for the best experience.

Michele was wonderful at checkin and our room was comfortable and at the end of the building, providing for appreciated quiet. The breakfast each morning was well appointed and the selections fresh. We had a nice stay and appreciate the convenience to Bosque del Apache Refuge.

The hotel is conveniently located of I-25. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. Rooms in the annex building open off of an interior hallway, so a room key is required to enter the annex building as well as the room itself. Rooms in the main building open directly outside. I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel while we were going to see the birds at Bosch Delapache. They serve a good hot breakfast every morning. The rooms are clean and well maintained. A very well lighted parking lot with large parking spaces. the hotel has easy access to the hiway and lots of restaurants close by some with in walking distance. We would stay there again.

Overall the hotel is at a great location for the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, right near the I-20 entrance and exit to hotel. The hotel room walls are a bit thin with noise, laughter, t.v. coming from a neighbors room. Didn't bother me much since I can sleep while my son practices music with his band at home. I just wanted to mention it to those that are lite sleepers. The hotel has the right amount of amenities. The room and lobby were clean and hotel staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. I would recommend.

The Best Western in Socorro is probably the best hotel in town. It is very comfortable, clean and a very good value for money. We stayed for 2 nights and we were mainly visiting the Bosque Del Apache wildlife refuge. The hotel is right in the city, close to all restaurants and conveniences, and a 20 minute drive from the park. They offer breakfast to-go for those early morning trips to the wildlife refuge, which I think was a very considerate thing to offer their guests.

Stayed here traveling thru returning home after Thanksgiving. Room 213 in convention center wing for $95 + taxes. Spacious, well appointed, CLEAN, quiet room. Large parking area. Lobby felt "upscale". Complimentary breakfast was complete with everything needed and coffee was very good. Breakfast attendant, Noreen, was a great ambassador as she was pleasant and kept everything freshly filled. No cons to our stay, will stay again if in area. Highly recommend.

The staff are very helpful and will do anything to help you have the best experience you can have at Best Western It can only be described as amazing, great, cool, flattering, and a great place from a family trip. This place is now our favorite hotel ever. I really recommend this place

Directly off I25 in convenient location 17 mi. from Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge in a small town Socorro with walkable fast food options and gas stations. Hotel was clean, double queen bedroom was spacious with adequate amenities. Bedding was quite comfortable. Only complaint: typical thin walls meant neighbors' tv and conversations were tiresome and required cranking up the A.C. fan to high for "white noise". Bring ear plugs.

Good stay. No elevator so luggage and photography equipment need to be lugged upstairs if you receive a 2nd floor assignment. Breakfast opens at 6 so there is only a go bag with water, a bar, fruit, and a cookie if you have an early AM field trip. Coffee is 24/7. Room was clean and fine. Well priced.

Based on reviews and LIMITED options in Socorro we took the plunge and booked ! Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly attentive desk clerk- quickly and efficiently assigned our room. Room was nice and BIG! Well appointed and clean as a whistle! Biggest thing I noticed was how QUIET the place was! While close to I-25 we did not hear traffic or doors slamming or foot traffic - nada! Well kept, clean and comfortable. ONLY issue (and seems to be the case EVERYWHERE now days) is the $$$! Sure our stay was on a Saturday night & sure the place was packed but $ 175.00 for one night? In Socorro NM? Go figure!

Always try to stay at the Best Western when in Socorro. The Best Western has the best staff, good rooms, great location, plenty of parking, and close to good eating. Internet is a bit iffy in the annex. Breakfast is OK but huevos rancheros is readily available down the street.

Hotel is very well located and easy access from i25, close to dinning options within walking distance. Very good for a short stay or stopover. Rooms were very clean and well kept, breakfast options are standard but good taste and quality.

This property has its room access directly from the parking lot. It is slightly noisier than some recent stays we have had. Having said that it did not really matter. We were tired enough from the day's drive that we just enjoyed the clean and well prepared room. When we asked about local restaurants we were directed to a few possibilities. The first one was closed due the day of the week. The second was filled to the brim with a half hour wait. The last one was "just right" with quick seating and a good local fare. We had an engaging conversation with the table next to us and enjoyed our evening very much. The check out easy and staff was friendly and the breakfast hit the spot to get us on the road early.

I had a great experience overall at the Best Western in Socorro, New Mexico. I found only one issue and that was with the mattress on the bed. It was very cheap and hard. What a shame, the hotel had a very bright and modern appearance. It had a great breakfast and fitness room. My room was very clean and neat but no money was put into the mattress. It was the next closest thing to sleeping on the floor.

I forgot about a new handmade silver belt buckle in my pants pocket when I left my room. After I came back after the room had been cleaned, the buckle was gone. I went to the front desk and told the front desk what happened. I asked if there was a form I cld fill out, and I was told there was not. I ended up writing my contact details on a piece of blank paper and told a manager wld contact me. A manager never contacted me. Clearly, the hotel does not take the theft of guests' property seriously.

The décor is a bit dated, but the room was very clean. The bathroom was very clean...probably the cleanest I have ever seen in a hotel. The staff was very courteous and nice. My room was comfortable. I have no complaints.

This was an overnight stay on the way to Bosque del Apache, as we needed to up and out the door by 6am the following morning. The Hotel & Suites was in a convenient location (just off the main road) and the room was ready when we arrived.

We made our reservation at 2:30 pm, cancelled at 5:30 pm, then told they would charge our card because the cancellation is at 4:00 pm. We went back and forth with I wasn't told, and them saying they have no way of knowing that. I understand if a hotel is full and turning business away that they charge, but that definitely was not the case here since we kept the reservation rather than be charged without service. Terrible customer service.

I booked through hotels.com and they sold me a king suite and said it was all there was yet when we got to the hotel they were not full at all. The room was wonderful BUT it was in a building across the street called the annex. It was a hike to the pool and the breakfast buffet. With my age and hip replacement that made it not so fun. Plus end of October it was chilly coming back from the pool. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast buffet was good. Had nice bisquits and gravy and other items. I will stay again just will book directly so can get the right room.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 5:30 pm. We had an evening engagement and were pressed for time. Desk clerk was surly, housekeeping was worse. When we got to the room, the smell of stale smoke was horrible. By then it was so late that we didn't have time to complain. (Considering the difficulty getting a room in the first place, this wouldn't have been a good option, anyway.) We won't be back. There is a better option next door.

We always stay at this hotel for many reasons. They allow pets, great breakfast but most of all the manager Jose. He is awesome. Michelle was super helpful also. Jose goes out of his way to try and make your stay the best.

Clean and accommodating hotel close to New Mexico Tech.. Not much to do in Socorro, but I must say the restaurant in the area serve good quality food.. Check out Socorro springs, yo mama, la Bodega, and Eagle guess ranch for the best steak about an hour away, you wont be disappointed, so do take the drive.

Very good hotel, great accommodations. Very clean hotel with a great staff. Room was very clean and no problem with housekeeping. Internet was easy to use and front desk experience was very professional.

This place looks new after a remodeling. Rooms are quality, staff is attentive and friendly. Access is good off I-25. There's a good restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast was mediocre, as expected at this price point. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Very clean facility with comfortable beds. Upgrade to a king suite for $2 more was well worth the money and Socorro Springs Brewing Company is right next door! Two story facility with no elevators. Be sure to request the first floor if stairs are a problem.

We had a very comfortable stay at this property. The room was clean and roomy. It was a warm day so we appreciated the air conditioning. The breakfast was typical for most BWs and was ample and fresh.

The Best Western Socorro was exactly what we were looking for. The room was huge and well cared for. We had researched food options prior to arrival and found a great restaurant close by. Had a convenience store and gas station practically next door. I think the only negative was that there is two buildings. We were in the "annex" which is not attached to the main building. Room was great but not as easy access to the amenities in the main building (snacks in the evening and breakfast). Enjoyed the stay and would recommend this place. Good value for the price.

We have stayed at this Best Western before and felt it was one of the best in the New Mexico area that we travel through on our way to Tucson. The fact they are pet friendly and did accept our cat was another plus. so we will stay there again.

Thanks for the room and the breakfast. Not much to do in this city, but the hotel was clean and actually had a really nice breakfast for this type of buffet. They had two gyms and a pool. Plenty of parking and easy check in and check out.

I feel like I can always depend on Best Western. Last night they saved me from sleeping in my car as I had just high tailed it out of a different disgusting hotel. For a night or three, this hotel is great. It gets 5 stars from me because it's nice and it's clean! It's fairly spacious. The heater works. The wifi works. The shower is decent. The parking is easy and right out front of your door. They have a gym and indoor pool. Breakfast was decent with eggs, biscuits, pastries, almond milk, yogurt, oatmeal and fruit. And the woman working the front desk last night was friendly and helpful.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this motel for the New Mexico Fire / EMS Expo. Both times it has been a very pleasant stay for us and we look forward to staying there again next year.

very clean hotel located next to restaurants and shopping. they offered a Varity of breakfast items. the staff were courteous and helpful as well. I highly recommend saying there for business and pleasure.

I travel with cats and often get lower quality rooms and cleanliness at most hotels. This one was modern, clean, updated, and very friendly. Will definitely stay here again on my yearly migration from north to south.

We have stayed at this Best Western a number of times. It is clean, the rooms are roomy, there is a refrigerator and microwave, wifi, a good hot breakfast, and restaurants to walk to nearby. We had to stay in the ADA room since it was almost full when we called and we wanted to be on the ground floor with our dog. The room worked out great.

Conviently located off 25, newly updated. Welcoming staff, offered snacks while waiting to be checked in. Room spacious. Bathroom and sink area a bit cramped. Located near many fast food restaurant. Large nd clean guest laundry room too.

Clean room, good breakfast. Wished I'd gotten reservation in sooner to get a better rate but I was held up in my planning. Minor internet glitch. Breakfast is called continental in some descriptions, but it's much better than that. Scrambled eggs, alternating bacon, sausage, or biscuits and gravy, waffle machine, in addition to cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit. One ice machine out of order.

The hotel was just a little older than I was expecting, with a motel appearance. The AC in my room would not work the first night then off and on during the following days. The Holiday Inn across the parking lot looked a little newer and nicer from the outside. The breakfast thay was good for me since I eat on the go

My husband has been wanting to come here for a while, the hotel was great everyone was very friendly, the room was very clean. We arrived on Saturday and left Monday, they were having there County Fair & rodeo the same weekend and we were so surprised there weren't more people, a lot of the stores and restaurants have closed which is sad another small town slowly dying. We did find a great restaurant to eat at its called El Camino Family Restaurant and they are open 24 hours a day. Oh by the way if you are a UFO buff they have a mural of an officer- Lonnie Zamora who witnessed a UFO back in 1964, ask any local they should be able to give you some info it's by the fair grounds. If you make it to Socorro you have to go to the VLA it's about 50 miles from town

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and centrally located to local attractions. The exterior of the hotel is well maintained and clean. The breakfast items in the breakfast area were replenished and the area kept clean.

This was just a quick one night stay while traveling. My husband LOVES when we can pull right up to our hotel room to unload! The room was comfortable and the beds were too.... Internet was not great but okay.... Would stay in another town like Truth or Consequences next time even though this hotel was conveniently located.....

Watch getting a room in the annex building behind the convenience store and the McDonalds the rooms have roaches. We checked in for a 3 night stay and found a medium sized roach crawling on the wall and we thought it was an isolated incident and it wasn't. We found another when my husbands brother arrived and killed a baby before trying to go to sleep, needless to say we didn't sleep all night and had the lights on. The next morning we found 2 pincher bugs crawling on the bathroom floor also. We are handicapped and I use a wheel chair and we were offered a room on the 2nd floor and when we couldn't accept we were told find another room at 10:30 at night. Next day called the manager Joe and he said he knew there was a problem due to the mcdonalds and the convenience store so I said if you know there is a problem why don't you spray more, he said I can give you a refund and you can go else where and the holiday inn express was also booked completely and none of the other hotel in the area seemed equal to those 2 choice. My husband has very severe allergies to fragrances and the room we had had already aired out from the cleaners they used so we couldn't risk going elsewhere. I asked if they could spray our room after we left, let it air out and see if that would work Joe agreed. I also stated we wanted to be compensated for the 1st night we didn't sleep due to being on roach patrol in fear something was going to crawl on us or worse and he stated he would have to do that out of his own pocket and I said that's fine I didn't care at that point, I was exhausted from driving all day the day prior and not sleeping all night. Joe stated it would be out of his own pocket 4 times during the conversation which I have managed a motel on the Las Vegas Strip and a complimentary night NEVER came out of my pocket especially if there was something wrong with a room. The room was sprayed and cleaned the house keepers did a very good job. Anna on night shift at the desk wasn't very helpful and hung up on me twice asking her coworker what to do... I would not unpack your clothing or food unless you make sure there are no roaches before you get too comfortable in the annex building. Also if you're in the annex building be prepared to hear the door bell going off in your room when someone on the outside needs to get into the building that went on until almost 11 p.m. The parking lot is well lit, the house keepers do an excellent job cleaning and are friendly. Sabrina who originally made the reservation for us was fantastic as well. I think Joe the manager on days could have handled the situation a little better after all I was nice to him considereding I had been on roach patrol all night long. We never ate breakfast there because we didn't know how clean the kitchen / dining area would be so we went out for breakfast everyday and never once ate there which was included in the price of the room. We were only charged for the 2 nights instead of 3 upon check out. I would choose not to stay there again and try the holiday inn express next door instead, it was full every night.

Very small rooms, but clean and functional; pleasant, efficient staff; dog-friendly; quiet. Good WiFi. Main thing to see in Socorro is the lovely NM Tech campus. And a drive to the Very Large Array is well worth it!

My stay a at the Best Western Hotel and Suites in Socorro, New Mexico was great. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. There were a few interesting channels on the TV program. It's located a few minutes for my business destination. There are a few fast food restaurants, gas stations, and a Walmart within minutes of the hotel.

The overall experience at this hotel was good. The guest room furniture was a little dated but it worked. The bathtub in my room made creaking noises while taking a shower but the water temperature was more than sufficient. The provided breakfast was good, especially the biscuits and gravy. This is definitely a reasonable place to stay.

The trailor park next door had the cops out over a rucus of some sort in the middel of the night. It was clean and the room very nice, snacks and friendliness was lacking some, over all nice for New Mexico.

I normally prefer Best Western but in this instance i was not Pleased, Old Applianced, Sparse decor... Overall i just feel the experience could have been better given the money spent, If i would have known before hand i would have stayed at the holiday inn or found a different best western in a nearby city.

While traveling through New Mexico we decided to stop in Socorro for the night. We picked the Best Western & were pleasantly surprised. The staff at this hotel was super. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a little older but well maintained and very clean. They have a reception every evening in the lobby area with snacks and drinks (non-alcohol). The Manager was there all the time and took particular interest in making sure we had a pleasant stay.

We are platinum members with Best Western and have stayed with them all over this great country. Our experiences have varied but this one exceeded our expectations. The hotel was recently remodeled and although we stayed in the section with an entrance to the outside, our stay was quiet and comfortable. The lobby was clean and attractive, as was the breakfast room. There was plenty of seating and the presentation and selection of food items was great. The folks here were very friendly and we were offered extra points for being platinum members. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

My sons and I experienced the best accommodations at this Hotel during our stay in Socorro, NM. The breakfast was excellent and the bed and pull-out bed/couch was very comfortable. All in all it was an enjoyable experience staying at this Best Western.

PROS: Let me start by saying the hotel staff is exceptionally nice and willing to assist you in any way. Rooms are clean. Beds are OK, expected for a hotel. Outside is clean. A/C works well CONS: No safe in rooms for valuables. Breakfast is kind of limited with eggs from a carton that are not great. Some door knobs/light switches are upside down (not a big deal) Some ice machines were out of order when I went (July 9-14, 2017) Overall, this hotel is a great stay. I would stay again, but go somewhere for breakfast.

Overall the stay was good. Can't complain too much because of the area. There isn't much to choose from, but this is definitely one of the better options. The breakfast was good, mostly pork options. Wish they had turkey options for breakfast as well.

The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful. They helped bring my membership account up to date; and told us where to find things in town. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Out of 5 hotels that we stayed during our vacation this one was definitely the nicest. We had a king mini suite and the room was very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'll stay in more Best Westerns from now on.

The WiFi internet is not good at all, the tv channels are not a very good selection! The bathroom shower floor was squeaky, and there was a tile that was really loose. I would stay here again, but at a last resort

My husband and I have stayed at various hotel chains and have been most satisfied at the Best Western Hotels. This hotel did allow pets (cost), and we do appreciate that many of the Best Westerns do. The girl that checked us in was very pleasant. She explained and offered to sign to sign me up for the New Summer program.

My daughter booked a room for me, already paid for in full through Expedia. When I arrived to check in, I showed credit card and dl. Since there was not $100 dollars on my credit card, I was not allowed to check in (even though the room was already paid for in full.) The credit card I presented is the only one I use for this when traveling. This happened at a different hotel on the same trip. That hotel simply and without reservation reduced the deposit fee and were happy to do this so that I could check in. I have no idea about the rooms at the Best Western or anything else since I didn't get to stay there.

We ended up at the Best Western after abandoning camping plans due to inclement weather. It might be a bit pricey for a walk-in price after 10 p.m. ($109 for two queen beds) but it was clean, and did have microwave, refrigerator and free wifi. Bath was clean if in need of updating.

We spent two nights at this hotel. Our room had two queen beds with refrigerator and microwave. We checked around 2 pm. The A/C in the room was off and it was extremely warm. We turned the A/C on high and left for a few hours. When we returned it was cooler but not cold. We left it on high for both days and it never really got cold, Just cool. The beds were uncomfortable. There are two other major hotels we stay a when we travel. They were not available in Socorro. Small town not a lot to choose from. We would probably not stay there again.

The hotel was very clean. Pool was out of order, but could go to the Holiday inn and use that pool. Night staff needs training in cutsomer service and what type of colthing to wear. Not professional at all.

I was very please with the knowledge I received from the class. I can also share the information from this class to others that is interested in knowing what we learned. I would like to take another class to go with the one I went too!

Hotel has improved two fold since my last stay. the annex building has a full gym with actual dumbbells and machines for an absolute great workout. The rooms in the annex are furnished with a king size bed which is super comfortable. Overall I had a great stay.

great location, right off I-25 and next to amenities. will be staying there again. the staff were courteous and helpful. the room service was great, the room was clean and comfortable. the breakfast had variety and changed everyday. everything in the room was working and maintained. There are a number of hotels in Socorro and we stayed in the Best Western for graduation. It was clean, comfortable and probably one of the better ones to stay at. It is a motel and the price we had to pay was obviously for the graduation weekend.

I stayed here with my wife in April. The room was very nice and the price was right. We stayed in the annex. Two things weren't quite right. One the exercise room and the spa in the annex were closed and there was no sign telling us this and the staff at the desk didn't either! Two the staff at the registration desk were rude, in fact they were rudest of any Best Western I have stayed in. No information on breakfast, etc.

room adequate, on second floor annex. ( smoke free, pet free ) I am allergic to dander. Bed clean, comfortable. Room small for the price. Almond milk available for breakfast which is a plus. A/C has generic controls, somewhat noisy and ineffective. I'm a Rewards member so I stayed here. The Econolodge is clearly superior in both amenities and value.

My wife and I stayed here one night. It was reasonably priced, clean, and convenient. Check-in/check-out were pleasant. We liked its convenient location near the Socorro Springs Brewery/Restaurant. We'll stay here again next time through Socorro

Hotel was being renovated so it will perhaps be better when finished. We were placed in a separate building. Room was adequate, breakfast was mediocre. Staff was helpful in explaining the consequences for us of the renovation.

Comfortable stays. Great hotel for the area. Breakfast offerings could be better. Mondays and Thursdays do not offer eggs, offer cream chipped beef and biscuits instead. Eggs should always be a side option in my opinion. Although eggs appear to be powdered. Overall not bad.

We stayed 3 nights and our stay was excellent. Our room was spacious with a little sitting area and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room also had a fridge and microwave. For a hotel breakfast it was very good. Each morning they offered an egg dish as well as waffles. They also offer an assortment of yogurt, breads and coffee cakes. Overall I have found Great Western a consistently excellent place to stay.

Everything seems fine the location is excellent the staff was friendly the Breakfast was adequate and the room was both clean and spacious. My only issue was the airconditioner was hard to manage and of course there is no elevator But the people made up for those small shortcomings

First let me say first front desk and manager were super. Saying this we would never make reservation again in a hotel without a elevator. The room was on the small size. It was a quite hotel as far as highway or traffic noise.

Had a great stay wouldn't stay anywhere else except Best Western. I stayed in the Annex Building which was always cleaned. The rooms are in excellent condition and the beds are the best in the world. We had a workout room, sauna and at the main hotel building an indoor pool and hot tub.

Times were not communicated, we were rushed out at check out and we had planned on staying another night, and No rooms available. Missed breakfast because, I didn't know the times...at checkout, we were ignored because the clerk was on a phone call and it did take forever, also when the clerk got up off her chair, we saw her butt crack. Not happy

Great place to stay if your room happens to be in the overflow hotel which is separate from the main building. If staying in the main building be prepared for a rough night's sleep. There were people coming in at all hours of the night. If you turn on your air conditioner/heater that helps drowned out the noise. Not ideal.

There's about 7 hotel choices in Socorro when we decided to go to the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge 18 miles south. The Best Western is right next to the freeway so fast access. Next to a McDonald for fast food. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. The complementary breakfast fills you up. We had no problems for our short stay and will do it again.

Located in a popular spot. Your basic comfortable hotel, clean, easy to check in and out. Rooms comfortable and simple amenities. Breakfast had a simple menu which ould have had healthier choices but if you are a "up and attem" person it works nicely. Great for a short visit!

It was ok. The beds are horrible, we also requested a rollaway bed however there was nowhere to put it in the room (not sure why they offer it). It was clean and we had a good time. The pool was in good shape and it was centrally located.

Whatever hotel you are considering in Socorro, just know that these people will treat you wonderfully. We sort of overran the hotel with our soccer team, used the indoor pool and everyone had plenty of breakfast, and the girls (and the parents) just loved it. Thank you.

Clean, friendly, very helpful staff, 24 hour McDonalds next door, close to the I25 ramp to go to Mosque del Apache. Coffee is available 24 hours. All the above is necessary for those 4:30 am departures to watch the Cranes at Bosque del Apache.

Very relaxing night and delicious breakfast the next morning. The breakfast consisted of cereals, eggs, ham, waffles, toast, etc. It was plenty of food to get us started for the day! The staff were very helpful, friendly and willing to help! The pool was closed but looked like it would be lots of fun in the warmer weather!

Booked a suite thinking it would be quieter - big mistake. Slider type windows are cheap and poor fitting, allowing road noise. Light switch poorly located. Bathroom sink vanity located too low. The suite has an "interior" entrance, but then passage through the corridor is permitted by all guests, making the opening and closing of the corridor doors annoying.

Including annex the capacity is large. Quiet, clean room and bath with modest appointments. Easy walking to dinner and great location for activities. No breakfast but priced appropriately. Most uniquely for Socorro this is a pet and smoking free motel.

I stayed in the annex of the hotel which was much better then the room that a friend stayed in which was located in the main building. The annex room was great in that it had large living space, comfy bed, nice kitchenette area, and work area. The bathroom was nice too although the door had very little clearance which would make it difficult for a larger sized individual to get around. No complaints about the shower or bathroom overall. The towels were nice and the bathroom also had fan and heating lamps which are a great added accessory. The kitchen area was a very nice touch and had a sufficient counter area as well as a small sink and small fridge with freezer. The kitchen area also had a microwave which was kind of outdated but I'm sure it would do the job if need be. The living room area contained a couch and small table. The couch was a pullout couch also which is a good touch if you had additional people staying in the room (I did not use it on this trip). The bed in this room was a king size bed and had about 6 pillows and was comfy for a stay away from home. I will say if you are looking for a view with a room I would avoid the second floor around rooms 250-260 because the view is obstructed by the convention center so you will only see the roof of the convention center. If you're in the need for a filling morning breakfast the main building was nice with plenty of selections. Overall the stay was very nice and I would come stay again! One of the best hotels in Socorro if you happen to be going to NMT or just passing through.

This establishment met all expectations of a stay. The room was large, comfy and spotless. It was easy to find, close to the interstate and very quiet inside. Our bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was well prepared and staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We were completely satisfied with our stay from start to checkout. Spent several days photographing birds, and this was a great place to come "home" to. Stayed in the annex...rooms were very comfortable and quiet.

Very clean with welcoming upgraded decor upon entry. Looks like they are still updating everything but almost done. I would definitely stay here in the future. GALS - they use 2 - 1 shampoo/conditioner and do not provide lotion so remember to bring your own!

Best in Socorro but that ain't saying a whole lot. Book way in advance. Parking is ok, rooms are ok, breakfast is ok, cleanliness is ok. It's ok. Nearly all the rest in town are terrible which makes this one seem pretty good.

If you are traveling and have the car packed this is the place to stay. Rooms are nice size and well appointed. We really liked that we were able to load and unload right outside of our room. Here you are able to park with an outside door and that was so nice...many places were with-in walking distances from our room and that was great ...hotel is right off freeway, easy on and off...gas station right next door...perfect place to stay. The night desk clerk was very nice and helpful

Everything was great about this hotel..the pool, the room BUT the bed pillows on both beds were so uncomfortable that we both had neck issues and did not sleep well. Liked the frig and other amenities. Nice that it had a Burger King on one side and a McDonalds on the other. Not that I ate there but nice in case I wanted to. It was a little pricey for a small town not in tourist season Over a hundred bucks per night.

We have stayed at Socorro Suites before. Every time it is a great stay. We have pets and the pet rooms are always nice and clean and the handicapped rooms are very nice. Joe the manager could not do a better job. The rates are good and the breakfast is something my Mom looks forward to going to. Excellent stop and Hotel. Staff very nice. Top notch Hotel.

For the purpose of the visit the hotel satisfied all the needs. In the room have all the furniture to study, relax, and even sleep comfortable and enjoy rest. the food in the morning was delicious and the employees are kind and helpfull.

This is a very nice Best Western. The front-desk were friendly and accommodating of our requests. We needed a ground level floor because my husband is disabled and cannot walk stairs. There is no elevator in the hotel, so be aware that you need to request a ground floor room if you do not want to walk the stairs. After we let them know our needs, they upgraded our room to a first floor mini-suite for $3.00 additional. We thought paying the small fee for the upgrade was reasonable. When I went to check out, they said they waived the $3.00 fee for the upgrade. We were pleased that they were so accommodating to our needs and didn't charge us the extra fee. The room was neat and clean. We had stopped at this Best Western 11 years ago and they have continued to maintain this property nicely. Kudos to this Best Western for great Customer Service and maintaining a nice hotel at a reasonable price..

Booked 2 rooms with 2 queen beds each. Both rooms: below expections and average. We somehow managed to find a place to put and open our 2 suitcases. I was wondering how 4 people (max. occupancy) would fit into the room. Breakfast: usual hotel fare and nothing more than OK in choice and presentation. Front desk staff was friendly and professional. I consider a rate of $85.00 plus tax for one night given room size and average breakfast inadequate. Overall impression: OK for the one night, we stayed.

This hotel was clean and comfortable though a bit dated. After a long drive the bed felt great.The staff was friendly and the breakfast was just fine. The view of the mountain was beautiful in the morning.

Pros: Nice location, next to McDonalds for quick breakfast and next to brewery restaurant for dinner. Overall, room was clean and staff were friendly. Cons: Walls are thin, especially ceiling. I could really hear the upstairs guest above me walking around--which was irritating. Get an upstairs room.

stayed here several times - old but clean and well maintained ordinary hotel - always in "annex" near main hotel - very quiet - PET FREE, which is becoming less common - often rooms are "pet friendly" (on beds, carpets, upholstered chairs) and "deep cleaned" - not effective - often a Tesla parked outside charging

Over the past few years I've generally found Best Western properties to be reliable mid range motels. Not the best, not the worst. Having said that, I can think of a Best Western near Zion National Park that was truly excellent value. And then there is this one in Socorro. It felt and looked like a slightly warmed over Motel 6 at best. Tired and cheap looking rooms. And a recent slight make over in the lobby does little to fix the woes here. With reservations made several weeks earlier, I was expecting a comfortable, mid range motel for my one night road trip stay over. When I arrived around 4 p.m. I found a gathering of would-be guests standing around with unhappy expressions. Turns out dozens of rooms were not yet cleaned and ready from the night before. My room was one of several that wouldn't be ready for at least an hour or two. I went out, had a bite to eat and came back at 6 p.m. They had just readied my room but other guests were still waiting. The overwhelmed front desk ladies were doing their best and struggling with a bunch of unhappy travelers. It was a bad situation. Bad management, poor planning and staffing, and lackluster accommodations. That's this not-so-Best Western.

This is a great, pet-friendly stop in Socorro, NM, near a park with a walking path. Staff is excellent, always ready to help and answer questions. Very well-lit, so I felt safe staying there with my two small dogs. Very clean, comfortable room, and they minimize the use of febreze-type chemicals, so I can actually breathe without going into anaphylaxis. This is my go-to on my way down to Yuma from Wisconsin every year, and I'm already booked for 2017!

I've been to Socorro twice this year on business, and stayed in the Best Western both times. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and I had no issues of any kind. It's conveniently located, but all hotels in Socorro are conveniently located. It's a good value and I would stay here again if I visit in the future.

Rooms for a group were not ready an hour after check-in time. Some people in the group waited 2 hours for their rooms to be ready. Room was over 90 degrees with the A/C turned off at check-in. Manage refused to talk with people in the group about the problems

Reservations made months in advance yet no clean rooms available at a 4:30 check in. Having to wait for an hour and a half for a room is just not acceptable. Manager was not on site and the next morning he just did not care to hear of our concerns. What ever you do, stay elsewhere!! The housekeeping staff is just not up to handling this many rooms and would rather chuck and jive than clean rooms. Some people paid for early check in and had to wait 4 hours to get in.

The motel did not have the room I reserved ready when I arrived and made me and my group of 18 friends (and many others) wait until 5:30 to get in. Clean rooms were available but all rooms were pre-assigned and it was 'too confusing' to put a guest in a different room that was ready and empty. No one lifted a finger to deal with a lobby crowded with guests waiting until the early evening to get into a room. No manager was on duty and none could be reached. I spoke with Joe Ruiz (General Manager) about the situation the next morning. He was more interested in telling me about his troubles ("Don't be too hard on me, I have been up for the last 24 hours") than hearing about mine. He admitted that all rooms are pre-assigned and are not changed even when other, clean rooms are available that the guest could be put in. A conversation with the Holiday Inn next door indicated this is a recurring problem at the Best Western, most likely due to insufficient housekeeping staff. Mr. Ruiz did not seem at all concerned about what I and my group experienced

We had a very good experience in this BW in Socorro. The management was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable. We would stay here again. The manager made a list of eating places that he would recommend.

Reasonable rates, above average breakfast w/eggs, sausage, breakfast buritos, and the usual items. Great bed and ample size bath. Everything anyone would expect from Best Western. Book on their web site for better rates if you are AARP or Senior.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The pool was clean and had amenities available. Was the best hotel we stayed at on our tour though New Mexico. The breakfast bar in the morning was a pleasant surprise. Fresh fruit, waffles, omelets, and yogurt were just a few of many things available. Next time though town, this is where we are staying.

Best Westerns, for us, have always been a bit iffy. Either they are great, or they are horrendous. This one turned out to be pretty good. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was better than we expected...we hadn't expected much in that department so we only took a very small portion. Unfortunately, while we were eating a couple of men came in and apparently cleaned them completely out (I swear they must have taken enough food for a dozen or more people out of the breakfast room!). There appeared to be no effort to replenish, so we just checked out and had an early lunch on the road. There really isn't much in the way of restaurants nearby that we could find. Primarily a couple of fast food places, so keep that in mind.

We stayed in the Annex building because pets are allowed in rooms in the main hotel. The room we had was clean, bathroom and carpet were clean and relatively new. At check-out they told us the annex is a newer building but the main rooms will be updated soon. The breakfast area was newly remodeled. We enjoyed the mini-omelets and waffles. There is a Holiday Inn Express next door that cost $40 per night more. We are happy we took a chance on the Best Western in Socorro. We will definitely stay here again!

wife and I stayed here last year on trip through and liked it so much we booked it again this year. Somewhat of an unique set up with main motel and then a separate annex too. we stay in the annex which is very quiet and rooms are inside and not with doors out to landing with main motel. rooms are nicely furnished and the bed was fabulous. I should mention we stayed on the second floor and there is not elevator in the annex... The owners are remodeling the entire lobby area and it is going to be beautiful. They also serve a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning which is a big plus for us. Service was excellent and friendly......will certainly stay there again

This Motel is convenient to both McDonald's and the Socorro Brewery restaurant which is nice. The remodeled lobby is nice. It is very convenient for getting on-and-off the highway, also. We've stayed at this hotel a number of times.

We have had good luck with Best Western, and this one was no exception. The room was large and inviting. There were absolutely no problems. The front desk was quite helpful, and in all we were very pleased.

Great staff. Comfortable room. The only downside of my stay was that I had noisy neighbors, but that doesn't reflect on the hotel or staff. There was a problem with the 1st floor ice machine so I contacted the maintenance staff. The guy was in fixing the machine before I walked back to my room. Whenever I walked into the lobby I was greeted by staff quickly and they were nice. I'll stay here again for my next visit.

Needed a place to stay for training at New Mexico Tech. Holliday Inn Express next door was booked. It was a decent place to stay, room was clean and had no issues. Nice lobby and the continental breakfast was ideal. I didn't use the indoor pool or fitness room hoever they appeared small and minimal but looked clean and seemed better than nothing. Staff was courteous but not overly pleasant. Would stay there again.

This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and shopping areas. It was clean and the staff was courteous. The breakfast and evening snack had variety. It is also located near the highway for easy access. It had Wi-Fi, and other amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel and I well be staying there again. I have stayed at many other hotels and this one is great for the price.

Room, bathroom, lobby, breakfast area - all clean, motel style - rooms open to outside. Breakfast is decent - omelets, sausage, waffles, fruit (kind of sad), milk, almond milk, yogurt, good coffee, Tazo tea, cereal, bread, pastries (also sad), juices, hard-boiled eggs. This place is not fancy but is probably the best you're going to get in Socorro.

This was a really nice clean property, with friendly staff. I left a library book, and called to ask them to save for me. We'd be driving back 2 days later. Housekeeping lady was very nice, and I got the book back on return trip. Very good value too.

Here we go again. 200 characters ,just to say at the end of the day of riding 300-500 miles in 115 degree heat , it was a pleasure to be treated to a cool bedroom, hot tub and pool.Only 181 characters at this point , I need 200 , here goes.

From the time I checked in until I checked out the staff was helpful and courteous. My guest room, from the carpets to the furniture to the bathroom, was extremely clean and neat in appearance. The price was fair and commensurate with other hotels in the area. I'll definitely stay again in the future.

During our stay, they were renovating the lobby and breakfast area. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked wonderfully. The refrigerator was dated and froze all of my fruit (there was no way to turn it down). The bed was ok, towels were refreshed every day. We did not use the pool, but there is one available. Hot breakfast every morning and coffee 24 hours a day! The Best Western is close to a 7-11 and the WalMart. Great value, exceptional staff!

Nice clean and comfortable. Staff always friendly, Breakfast was good as well. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and will stay here on my return trips to Socorro. Easy to get to as well right off I-25 exit and close to all the bossiness and restaurants.

I stayed in the annex of the hotel this time which was a more up to date version of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the fitness center was better. There was an issue with my bill which was rectified immediately by the staff. Very much enjoyed by stay.

I first was hesitant of booking the hotel due to the exterior appearing to be a bit dated. However I was pleasantly surprised at the updated lobby and the rooms were very nice. Great COLD air and a fridge that would freeze anything :) Great stay will return for second trip.

This hotel was great. Friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great and the room was quiet. We normally stay at Holiday Inn but after this visit we will check Best Western first. Really impressed with the renovations in the lobby. Although the price was a little high for the town we were in they were actually less expensive then other hotels in the area. I would recommend this hotel.

Last Sunday morning I left my wallet in the room, realized it when I was in Albuquerque. I called anxiously, and employee Byron immediately retrieved the wallet and said he would arrange for it to be FedEx'd to me on Monday morning. He was not working Monday when I called to follow up, but everyone from the Manager to the other staff involved were extraordinary in their professionalism and care in getting it returned to me asap.

I guess I received value for my money but nothing outstanding. Other properties I have visited seemed happy to have the guest while this one did not. Property is clean, comfortable,but not memorable. I probably would stay again if that was the only one available to me.

This was a decent stay. Room clean. Quiet hotel. It's set up like a motel with the room doors opening up to the parking lot. The best part of our stay was the breakfast, which was good, and there were plenty of places to sit. We ate dinner at the Brewing Company just down the street- delicious wood-fired pizza!

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Small breakfast was included in stay and they offered different food everyday. Close to highway and local Walmart. Gym in main building was very small and some of the doors required multiple card swipes to enter.

Stayed here for two nights. The staff were very helpful (even when I needed quarters for emergency laundry at 1am) and the room was clean and comfortable. They are currently renovating their lobby, but the construction was not noisy or inconvenient. I wish I'd had time to visit the pool; it looked amazing!

Everything and everyone was TERRFFIC. Although the stay was short, it was extremely satisfying. I will be back in Joly. We came in late ,with a dog,. expecting to be turned away, We were surprised to hear that accommodations were available.

Even though we were assigned to the annex, we enjoyed our stay at this Best Western Hotel. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were well stocked and the food was good.

The only negative of the hotel is that the inside rooms are in a separate building across the main hotel parking lot, therefore you have to walk across both the inside room parking lot and the main parking lot to get to the lobby for breakfast and to use the pool, gym, etc. This was not good.

we stayed here one night on a long driving trip. the location was perfect for us. the comfortable bed and hot shower really did the trick for us. the staff were friendly and helpful. thankfully the laundry facilities worked perfectly (and didn't cost the usual fortune). breakfast included good oatmeal, so we left well rested and well fed the next morning, glad that we had stopped here.

The Best Western in Socorro is situated amongst several other hotels near the Interstate on the northern edge of town. Restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was clean, newish, and had the expected reasonable amenities. It was fairly crowded, with a mix of people, mostly travelers and tradespeople. The rate was okay. So far, so good. When we checked in, we were given Room #241. No map or directions were proffered, so we drove around the building, noting room numbers on the 2nd floor. We found 238, 239, 240, so we went upstairs, luggage in hand, expecting #241 right around the corner. Nope. We waltzed around the entire 2nd floor, only to discover there is no #241. Back to the office we go, and inquire. "Oh, it's in the annex, across the way." With several adjacent hotels, we had failed to distinguish that the unmarked building behind the McDonald's was, in fact, "the annex", where we could find Room #241 (and higher). In an entirely separate building several hundred feet away. We accessed our room, then I went out to get more times from the car. Key card would not let me back in the building. Another hike to the front office, another hike back to the door to the annex to get a new card (provided grudgingly by the clerk). Since we carry step-counters, I noted that I added a half-mile worth of steps to my tally. I suggest the counter clerks remember to tell people where their room is located, especially if it's in the annex. To older folks, it might be an issue. Other than this oversight, it really wasn't a bad place to stay. But it did end the day on a note of frustration.

I stayed in Socorro for four nights when I was attending the festival of the cranes at Bosque Del Apache. The hotel was comfortable and the employees were most accommodating. A small issue of a chair having been improperly assembled and the door being difficult to close were dispatched easily by the maintenance man who was readily available and quite pleasant. Thinking that I had left something in the room upon my departure, the housekeeping staff was most attentive and helpful in determining the indeed nothing had been left behind. The location was close to the highway entrance and parking was adequate. Breakfast was available and the refrigerator in the room quite handy. I would gladly stay there on another trip to the area.

Best Western in Socorro was very comfortable, and a good choice for us because it was dog-friendly. Staff very helpful. Nice park where you can walk your dog / across the street. Big park just behind the fire station. Ask the front desk staff - they'll point you in the right direction. We drove over because the main drag is a really busy road.

Stayed overnight at this Socorro Best Western and was very pleased. Staff friendly and efficient. Hotel is on the new side and room was very clean. There was some lobby/ breakfast area renovation going on, but in spite of that, there were plenty of tables available. There was a pretty good selection of breakfast items . In addition to the standard carbs, they offered omelet, sausage, hard boiled eggs. I'd definitely stay there again. Free wifi.

Pleased with just about all aspects of the hotel. The hot tub was too hot and there were out of towels after we got ours. The breakfast was good. Sausage was not left standing in water as at another BW motel

The room was pleasant and clean. I never had to ask for more towels. When I returned to my room at the end of the day it was like I had just checked in to a new room everyday. The hotel was close to New Mexico Tech where I was working and right off the exit of Interstate 25. Parking was a little bit of a problem sometimes due to the close proximity of the Holiday Inn Express.

This hotel was great. It was right across the street from a scenic mountain. The doors open to the exterior (how you like it in the Desert). The rooms are clean and the breakfast was good. The only thing I could sat that would be a negative is first responders doing training at NMT and stay at this hotel. You may get a loud group coming back from drinking.

I was extremely happy with my stay, I loved my room. It was my home for those 5 nights and I would consider living in a place like that. The bed was big was comfortable, the cleaning service was excellent and the shower and mirror area was exactly what I needed. The appliances were old but they worked.

I agree with the other reviewers that the town in general is not geared toward customer service. But that makes this Best Western pretty great because the desk clerks here are super helpful. The hot tub is rocking! Powerful jets, nice and hot. I didn't use the pool, but the people in it weren't complaining. The fitness center is very small, but i was the only one in there the entire time and the treadmill was perfect so no complaints. There's a heat lamp in the bathroom and I dig those. Laundry on site, that's always nice. As a woman traveling alone this hit all the must haves. Safe, clean, and corporate. I would have liked security at night, but i felt safe anyway. There's plenty of places to walk to if you're sick of driving, but the closest food choices are ALL fast food and that's a little frustrating. There is a 24 hour convenience store a block away (7-11). I would recommend if you have the budget. It was a little too pricy at $101/ night after tax.

The motel was OK, clean enough, but but not nearly as nice as most of the Best Westerns I have visited recently. The pillows weren't great, and the bed was soft. And although I was in a pet room, I still expect the bedding to be clean and free of soil. The real issue was the staff. They just don't care. But I found that to be true everywhere I went in this little town. People working in the businesses acted like they couldn't be bothered. I got to the motel late and I left early. Upon check in the desk associate told me breakfast didn't start until seven, bUT a to go bread fast was available. When I checked out at 6:30 am, I was told the to go breakfast was only available on weekdays. A lot of the food wasnout, and someone was eating, but I was told it wasn't available. There isn't anything wrong with this BW...there just isn't anything very right about it.

We were given the last available room this hotel had on the second floor. No elevators here which didn't bother us but could pose issues for someone with mobility issues. The room was spacious and clean. There were a large number of people attending a training in the area which we were told occurs regularly. These people were having a very loud party on the ground floor and the foul language and topics of conversation were very disturbing. We were actually afraid to step outside the room. This marred our stay even though we know the hotel cannot control the conduct of its guests. The breakfast was very good.

All the amenities were great and our room was very clean. The room was well kept. The breakfast bar had a good variety and great coffee. I had to get a second cup. We all enjoyed the pool and not over chlorinated.

The main complaint was the very thin walls. This location has an annexed building and that was where our room was located. There were no elevators in this 2 story building. Nice staff with nice big clean rooms. A little light on the water pressure. The free breakfast was the normal fare with a very nice area to sit in. Several restaurants nearby within walking distance.

The staff was very helpful and quick. They even got a roll-a-way bed to the room before we got to it. The room was very quiet,clean and comfortable. Internet could be better. Check out was effortless.

Attending the First Responder training recently, and I love staying at the Best Western during this training. The breakfast is above average for a hotel, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The appearance of the hotel is really nice for where it's located. I mean, it's Soccorro, it's not South Beach. The two times I have stayed there, my rooms were always clean and smelled great. Although I did not have room service clean everyday, they always came by to let me know they were there to clean if I needed them to. This is a great place to stay for business or if you are just passing through to get to another destination. It's close to a Walmart if you are staying longer.

We decided to stay at this BW on our way to Tucson, AZ to break up the driving. It was a decent place to stay. The hotel was split up into 2 different buildings, which was a bit weird, but we didn't use all the amenities (pool & fitness center). The rooms were decent, not as large and spacious as most BW I've stayed in but were clean & everything worked. The breakfast was your typical BW breakfast.

We spent the night in Socorro prior to visiting the nearby Bosque Del Apache National Wild Life Refuge. This hotel has two buildings - the original property and a newer annex across the parking lot. We had a very comfortable and spacious king room in the annex and had an overall excellent stay. The hotel is located just off I-35 and is very near many of the local restaurants. For comfort, convenience, and cleanliness this hotel is a real value. We would definitely stay here again. The staff in particular work very hard to make this a nice place to stay and it showed in their enthusiasm and helpfulness. Thanks!

We stayed here one night on our way home from a vacation. We had a nice, spacious king room with fridge and microwave. It was pretty clean. Only complaint was that we had to run the fan on the ac continuously to drown out the noise. There was a Burger King next door, and when they cranked up their fan, the smell and smoke came right in. We also, sadly, had a very rude neighbor who sat outside his door and smoked a cigar, which didn't help. The management did come and tell him to extinguish it, to their credit.

We spent 4 days hiking and climbing the nearby peaks on BLM land. This was an ideal base camp for our trip. Good location, decent breakfast, comfortable room. The building behind the main motel has excellent, quiet rooms. Will definitely repeat a stay here.

Great hotel in the middle of town. No elevator so we had a first floor room. The room is more of a suite with living room with couch, frig, microwave. Comfortable bed. The lobby had free snacks and pop or water until 7:00. The room was quiet. Great restaurant right next door with beer and wine. Good hotel for viewing the cranes and snow geese at Bernardo and Bosque. There is a state park with old ruins fairly close down the road Bernardo is accessed by. Good value!

This hotel far exceeded my expectation for a hotel that was pre-paid for me. The room was huge, with two queen beds, a reclining chair, a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and sink. Great place to stay.

The room was spacious and comfortable. It had a table and chairs, refrigerator, microwave, Internet, coffee maker, ironing board, everything you could want. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in that area.

If you a comforted by the sound of the freight train in the middle of the night, Socorro is probably your kind of town. The Best Western and other motels along the Camino are all close enough to the tracks to bring the sound to you. But it's the West and it's history. This hotel is fine. We had a first floor room towards the back of the hotel, easy access to our car and the lobby, dining room. Nice and clean with friendly staff, great place after a full day of flying.

My three criteria are Clean, Quiet, and Reasonably priced. This motel fit all three. The staff at the front desk during check-in were friendly and helpful. My room was huge, in the un-attached annex building behind the fast food joint. And even though my room faced that place, I never heard a sound from them. The bed is one of the biggest I've seen, nearly double the size of my own king-sized bed at home, everything was spotless. Breakfast emphasized waffles, no scrambled eggs which is typical of BW breakfasts, but the breakfast was still adequate. And the staff at check-out were as helpful and friendly as the check-in staff. A great place to stay ... and just about 1/2 block from the entry to I-25.

This clean, modern hotel is easily accessed from the I-25. We were travelling from Tucson AZ to Taos NM. The Socorro Springs brew pub (great IPA!) is on one side and MacDonald's is on the other. We plan to return to avail ourselves of the excellent "birding" opportunities in the immediate area.

Really 3 top priorities in a hotel 1 - clean, 2-quiet and 3- a hot shower. This hotel failed at all three! Room was musty, staff didn't care, food disgusting and cold on hot food bar, and worst of all the shower was cold and the hotel was very noisy. Again, not even an apology from staff for the ice cold shower or musty room. "High speed internet" was non-existent. Will not say here again.

The Socorro Hotel and Suites is a nice, clean and comfortable hotel. If traveling for business or pleasure, a stay at this property on I-25 will fit the bill. Quiet room, especially in the "annex" which is separate from the Main Hotel building/structure. If you are in the annex, you will have to make a walk to the indoor pool.

I always try to get a Best Western Motel as they are staffed with great employees and offer little "comfort" things like a computer, snacks, a bag breakfast, etc. Generally easy to find and near other amenities such as gas and stores.

If we had been given a room on the ground floor of the main building we would have been much happier. The annex with its heavy door is NOT appropriate for anyone with a handicap. The room itself was fine, but the bathroom was not. . There was a leak near the toilet, the tub was so full of grab bars I was afraid I wouldn't find one if I needed it. The staff, particularly the maintenance man, were polite and helpful.

Yes, I know there are other hotels in Socorro, but we come back to this one time and time again. It is on California Street and close to businesses and I-25, This visit, we arrived past 10:00 PM and were still greeted with a friendly face. We usually stay on the top floor and we crashed and burned after our car trip. Next morning we arose early to go to the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge to take photos until after the sun came up and then came back for a great breakfast before going to visit the VLA (Very Large Array) nearby. We'll probably be back again the next time we visit.

One of the better Best Western hotels. Nice lobby, friendly staff, very comfortable beds and the breakfast was better than many similar hotels. Conveniently located on the main road through the town. We would definitely stay at this hotel again as it was a positive experience at a reasonable price.

This is one of the only pet-friendly hotels in Socorro. They do not allow pets in the newer building so we had to stay in the older part. Upgrade to the junior suite. Its $5 more and well worth it. We looked at the average room and its pretty small. I can't comment on the noise b/c it was in the middle of the week and pretty empty. Average room.Clean and good for a one night stay with a pet. Pet fee very reasonable $10 per pet, 2 dogs allowed.

The quality of this hotel was excellent. The town is very small, and I just didn't expect the hotel to have that great service. If you are going through Socorro, this is the place to stay. Right next to a great restuarant

This is an expensive property for the area. It met most of our expectations, especially in quality of room and heated spa. Breakfast was above average but not exceptional. Staff was efficient, but cleaning staff fell down on job. The room's carpet was dirty when we arrived and was not cleaned when we complained, nor was room tidied up on our second day. Still probably one of best motels in Socorro.

This hotel is ok for an overnight stop. We were out in the annex which I believe is actually newer and probably nicer than the hotel building, Room was large and comfortable and surprisingly quiet even though attached to some convention rooms.
