The Best Western Plus Donnington Manor Hotel is set peacefully in a village location, on the outskirts of Sevenoaks in Kent. Though you'll enjoy rest and relaxation here with the North Downs Way running alongside the hotel, you'll still be close to the M25, M26 and M20. That means you can get away from it all, without going too far from the towns and cities in the surrounding areas. Back at the hotel itself, you'll be treated to traditional homemade cuisine in our 600 year old restaurant! The hotel has recently undergone a major 2. 5 million refurbishment. Check out our luxurious new bedrooms and public areas.

    « Modern Hotel »

My husband and I stayed on a Saturday night. The hotel was impressive on arrival, looking lovely with all the Christmas lights. Check in was smooth. Our room was nice, if a bit on the small side. I was very impressed with the bathroom, very modern and luxurious especially for the price we paid for the room. When looking for a hotel I found this one was slightly more than other more budget chains but I'd say it was definitely worth the extra money. Better decor and cleaner rooms by far. After checking in we spent a couple of hours in our room getting ready before going out for the evening and at one point whilst being in the room heard a strange buzzing noise. We had a look round the room but after about 5 minutes the noise stopped. We didn't think anything if it but during the night it happened 2 more times and it woke us up both times. We figured out it was the aircon unit. Before turning on it would make a loud clicking noise and then buzz really loudly for 5 minutes. We forgot to report it when we left but if we had been staying for another night I would have asked to be moved rooms. This said it wouldn't put me off staying again as I'd like to think we had a faulty unit in our room and wouldn't happen in others. We stayed in room 107.

    « Excellent Hotel & Well run »

Was not sure what to expect when my company booked me into this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is well laid out, very clean and the rooms are perfect. It is very difficult to fault this place. Ronnie is doing an excellent job here and it was a pleasure to meet him. I had a small issue with a strange intermittent noise coming fro the AC unit and Ronnie arranged a room change immediately and without fuss. I actually wasn't too bothered about a room change but he insisted. The italian restaurant is great too. Luca was always keen to please and the waitresses were perfect. Had one of the best omelettes for breakfast I've ever had, you must try one if you can. Thoroughly recommend this place if you get the chance.

« Great room, service and food »

This year we stayed in an executive room for three nights and so had lots of space. Everywhere was immaculately clean and well presented. The receptionists (Joanna and Karen) were friendly and helpful and anxious to please. There is plenty of parking and the bar area is spacious. Sistina was an excellent waitress and the food was even better than last year. The pasta bowls at lunchtime were fantastic and the evening meals had lots of choice. Ronnie, the manager, paid attention to detail and the flowers in reception were fresh and tasteful. The porridge was great for breakfast. We never had to wait at any mealtime - but we always went at the beginning of service! We'' definitely be back next year.

« Convenient, modern and comfortable »

I was attracted to this hotel by the description and the fact that, when I was young many years ago, The Donnington Manor was where I went for Sunday lunch. Since then, the M25 has been built and a modern extension has been added to the charming medieval manor house. You may by now guess, that I was raised nearby so I am familiar with the area. I had an early appointment so needed a room for an overnight stay and this place hit the spot. Although late arriving, I was warmly welcomed by Karen, who explained the hotel's facilities. My room was a very comfortable well appointed executive room on the ground floor which was very quiet even though it overlooked the car parking area. I cannot comment on the catering or bar as my stay was too short to try either. I look forward to staying again.

    « Overnight Stay »

The hotel has been totally refurbished since the last time I stayed and it was absolutely superb. The rooms were clean and really nicely decorated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.. Evening meal in the restaurant was really nice and not too expensive. Great choice for breakfast. Free Wi-Fi and a large plasma screen in the hotel room.

« Clean, refurbished and excellent service. »

We stayed in an executive room with lots of space and opposite the car park. The hotel has been refurbished and is extremely clean and well fitted. Evening meal at the Italian restaurant was delicious. Service superb. Atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Breakfast was great. We have stayed in a few hotel of late in the area and this was the best.

« Contemporary hotel rooms surrounded by eclectic Bits and Bobs »

A lovely warm greeting upon arriving - restaurant food was nice and breakfast food was plentiful, hot and accessible (however, would have been nice to have been offered vegetarian sausages). Not sure if they were available as I didn't ask but a sign next to the buffet could indicate if different diets are catered for. Rooms were lovely - spacious, well decorated and clean. Nice touches in the bathroom of various complimentary toiletries. Have never visited Kent before so was hoping a selection of travel and tourism leaflets would be available in the foyer - sadly not, however, this could be remedied by arranging this easy and cost free service. My only one gripe (and really it is just a personal taste)..A beautiful tudor manor with a sympathetically added modern extension to house the bedrooms. However, a touch eclectic for my tastes with large elephant statues and running water (which I assume is either a Buddhist/Hindu or feng shui touch)? An Italian restaurant adds to the combined multi-national mish mash of tastes and decor. I would have preferred a more "typical" English retreat to complement the original Tudor Manor House and enhance the history of the location and building - the restaurant would be better suited to English Fayre - Roast Beef, yorkshire puddings all washed down with some local Real ale (including a vegetarian option too of course ;)!

    « Comfortable stay »

We stayed 5 nights on a B&B tariff. The room was good; comfortable bed, efficient shower, pleasant outlook over the car park onto fields. The hotel has a semi rural setting with Dunton Green station just about walkable to. The hotel will order a taxi if you need one. Breakfast was always good. We had Sunday lunch in their Italian styled restaurant & although there was no children's menu the 2 children with us managed 3 courses with a pizza for their main! Happy to recommend this hotel.

    « Mixed »

Stayed the night before and the night of my wedding. Whilst I didn't have any particular problems with the rooms we stayed in (& the bed in the Otford Suite was amazingly comfortable), a few of my friends and family had issues in their rooms (no power, keys not working, wifi unavailable). My mum was referred to as "a silly old woman" in my brother's hearing because the wifi wouldn't connect which is frankly appalling. Not good when we had recommended the hotel to our wedding guests and they had paid a fair amount to stay there. I also find it bizarre that you can't get BBC in the rooms.

    « Breakfast Issues »

The previous reviewer noted problems with breakfast a few weeks ago to which the hotel replied: "I have spoken to the Restaurant manager and the feedback you gave will be implemented so that immediate improvements can be done thereby ensuring that we provide a better experience in the future." Can confirm that as of this morning things were still problematic at breakfast. Friendly staff but lukewarm coffee served into a small cup so I ended up having 4 refills. Soggy tepid hash browns, scrambled eggs that had been in the warmer for too long. Had to pay extra for this as it wasn't included in the room rate! Sorry, but I can get a better breakfast down Morrisons cafe for under a fiver! The limit was toasting your own bread in a domestic toaster. The bread slices were so large the edges didn't toast! They'd also run out of room which mean people having to wait in the corridor where the toilets smelt. Come on guys, you made nearly 30 quid out of the 2 of us this morning for this 'experience'. Up your game!

    « Smart hotel »

Reception very efficient. Room clean and well furnished. Then let down by breakfast When booking in we were told if we booked in for breakfast there and then, the cost would be £10 each, otherwise it would be £12.50. When we went to breakfast the next morning, I noticed the girl tapped in terminal and had charged us the higher amount. When I pointed out this was an error, she simply said "Too late, it can't be changed now". I went back to Reception and explained what had happened, and was told "Don't worry, I'll fix that" and it was done immediately. So back to the Breakfast room. It was a help yourself buffet but the beans and bacon were both stone cold. Only scrambled egg available, no poached or fried eggs. When I asked for toast, a girl brought out a plate of sliced bread and pointed to toaster. There were 3-4 staff present, none of whom smiled or were helpful and only came out to clear tables. Coffee was served in small espresso cups, but one had to keep asking for a refill as they were so small. Nobody seemed to think of circulating the dining room with a full pot of hot coffee. What could have been a great experience was completely let down by the breakfast experience.

« good quality and great value! »

I stayed for a night in august 2016 as needed to attend a meeting in Sevenoaks. Really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room for the price - i didn,t have breakfast but the evening meal in the restaurant was great - comtempory french / english really delicious and reasonably priced - looking forward to my next visit ,

    « Disappointment to disaster »

After a business colleage and i checked in, the first thing we were told was that none of the T,V,'s in the rooms were working... The room itself was just a little grubby, but on the whole very good as long as you didn't want a view of an oil drum and plant room fans! The bar was fine with friendly and pleasant staff, but the prices were central London+. The restaurant was pleasant enough but the menu was unadventouous, boring, bland, and consited mainly of different shaps of pasta. I decided to go for King prawns with a sauce to start, but unfortunately, the prawns were not peeled but the chef still poured sauce all over them, making peeling a very messy disaster. They didn't even serve a finger bowl, and the very unfriendly waiter couldn't have cared less. I ordere lamb cutlets for mains, and as they were on the menu on other dishes i asked fir fries instead of potatoes, but the chef apparantly refused. The lamb was tiny, 60% fat, and badly cooked. All in all, that was without doubt, the worst dinner i have ever been served. We didn't bother with desert or coffee, and were presented with a bill with a hefty surcharge on it, just to add insult.

    « A very pleasant surprise »

We booked this an overnight as we were playing golf locally. We were very impressed with standard of the rooms and the helpfulness of the staff. The only meal we had was a more than ample breakfast which certainly as well prepared

« One Night Pleasant Stay »

We had a one night stay for a function held at this hotel. We have no complaints, the bed was to die for, the best i have slept on in any hotel. The room, shower, room service and breakfast was all very good. Let's hope we get invited here again to another event.

    « A recommended place to stay »

Located in the suburbs, surprisingly pleasant hotel. free parking, free WiFi, complementary tea, coffee hot chokolate, Stayed at the hotel two nights and enjoyed very much. The room is not too large but clean and very comfortable. we were surprised to see the bathroom (spotless clean), which is designed with special emphasis on safety. I haven't seen this in most hotels. The hotel has nice Italian restaurant, we had there breakfast and dinner. The only thing that must be noted is, that there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance, although you get to the center of Sevenoaks in 5 minutes drive.

    « Pleasant Hotel »

This is a review of the hotel only; we did not use the restaurant/bar. Our room was a good size, clean, with a strong shower and comfortable beds. A big plus was that parking was plentiful, right by the hotel, and free. Check in and check out were friendly and quick. The only negative to this hotel is that it is in a relatively isolated location; other than the hotel bar/restaurant, there is only one restaurant nearby; all others are located in town, about a 15 minute drive. That said, because of the good quality of the room, would recommend this location. It's a nice hotel.

    « Much Improved »

Had substantial renovations lately and improvement since last visit 5 years ago is dramatic All very nicely done and staff very helpful but don't understand the breakfast policy as paid on the day for £10 pp yet if added on to booking via the web system it is £16/£17 pp which is ridiculously expensive - dinner is only a couple pounds more than that ???

« Huge let down! NOT recommended! »

I was here for an overnight stay. "Joanna" who was on duty the morning I checked out served another couple before me, she did not ask if I had a nice stay, was extremely monosyllabic, and displayed a unique talent for not giving a stuff about anything. I called ahead of time to ask for two cans/bottles of Coke and an ice bucket with ice, they delivered 2 glasses of Coke with a slice of lemon, the ice bucket was tiny and not big enough regardless if there had been cans. The food sent to my room was barely warm and way too salty. I will not be back!

« Beautifully appointed hotel let down by relaxed service »

I recently stayed at The Donnington Manor Hotel for a few nights while in that area for work. This is a beautifully decorated hotel and my room was probably one of the nicest I have stayed in for many years; with wall hung large flat screen tv, huge bed, lovely ensuite and lots of extra touches. What prevents the hotel bring rated very good or excellent was the service in the restaurant. While the staff were really nice their knowledge was sometimes lacking and service was 'relaxed'. Two simple examples were experienced during my stay. I was booked on a dbb package but the waiting staff member was unable to confirm fully if could select from the main menu or a set menu. Another party nearby had a similar experience. The restaurant manager was very helpful and informative, and clarified things quickly. Secondly, breakfast was to begin at 6.30 yet I, among others, had to wait 10-15 mins for everything to be fully ready. Another guest commented that this was a regular event. In the end I settled on cereal and coffee as I had appointments to meet and could not wait. Despite these I would happily stay in the hotel again in the future, as the accommodation and decoration definitely outweigh the nuances in service

    « Beautiful hotel »

Stayed here 13/09/16 for one night checked inn looked lovely ,receptionist was so helpful and upgraded me from standard room to executive suite WOW for same price ,what can I say wonderful hotel with all the amenities in room from iron to hairdryer & coffee & tea making facilities & fridge and 50 inch TV best hotel in a long time that I've stayed at well Best Western *****

« Very pleasant, attractive hotel in convenient location »

Since refurbishment this is a lovely hotel, and the only place I would stay in Sevenoaks when I visit the area. The room was clean and nicely furnished, and quiet. The bar was well designed to function as a lounge and light dining area as well as a bar. The dining room is now an Italian Osteria, furnished appropriately, and the menu is very good.

    « Lovely night stay »

We stayed in Donnington Manor on our wedding night. Before the evening the team were very helpful in reserving rooms for our family staying over. They managed to hold all the rooms we wanted and gave us a great rate with breakfast included. We stayed in one of the suites and it was a lovely room. Breakfast the next morning was very nice too. Strongly recommend the hotel for an evenings stay.

    « Great staff »

The large bed in our room was very comfortable, the shower was also very good. The hotel has benefited from refurbishment although the paintwork in the shower was peeling a little and on this occasion the view of the car park wasn't great (I have previously stayed in another room in this hotel with a better view). The room and the hotel were also very clean. What made the trip memorable was the excellent team of staff who all went out of their way to make our trip memorable with their helpful attitude and prompt responses to our requests for more tea and larger cups at breakfast. The breakfast itself was also good.

    « Birthday party »

I hope our experience today was not typical of this hotel's attention to detail and service. We chose our food in advance but were served unripe tasteless melon, cold main courses and two of the puddings were not what we had chosen - apple pie not crumble and lemon tart not cheesecake. A real embarassment.

    « Don't bother »

When our group checked into the hotel we were initially really excited as the hotel is decorated nicely and the rooms were good quality. Within 10 minutes though, the problems has started. It's near on impossible to get a drink at that bar as we soon found out. One man, who seemed really unhappy was running the busy bar on his own all night. He had worked from 8pm until 10am the next morning we later found out, so it was no wonder he was miserable and slow. A good night sleep in a nice room but then came breakfast which was £10 a head and we'd booked in advance. They had run out of almost all the hot food and deli items, no eggs, no beans, no bacon. If you wanted to order eggs you had to stand at the counter. I waited 15 mins for any member of staff to even appear so that I could ask for fried eggs. I then had to stand there and wait another 15 mins for them to appear. I should have given up but was starving and needed some breakfast, especially given the cost of it. While I was standing there a crowd formed of unhappy customers all talking about how poor breakfast and the service was. A customer accidentally smashed a glass on the floor which staff were then just walking through rather than clearing up, which kind of sums up the attitude. I'll also point out a lot of ladies were in sandals and there were children around. Nice room. Would stay again but wouldn't bother with breakfast, the restaurant, or bar. Also worth noting the hotel don't accomodate for children bed/cot wise, but do accomodate dogs. There was a high chair for the baby in our family at breakfast.

« A very comfortable and good value hotel »

Excellent bed and bathroom. Bed huge and comfortable. Good welcome. Ample parking. Attentive staff. Best Best Western we have stayed in in either US or UK. Two comments - breakfast served in nice restaurant but a bit pricey for what it was and why stick the crispy hash browns in the mushy tomatoes. Also no number for building on website. Difficult to find on Sat Nav since London Rd is long ! Overall though v nice hotel

    « Wedding booking »

I visited this hotel twice before my big day to ensure we booked a suite big enough for the bridal party and booked the Hever suite. Upon arrival they had booked me into a much smaller suite and only for one night instead of two. After complaining this was rectified however I then paid full price for the suite not the agreed discounted rate that was agreed for my whole wedding party. The day after the wedding there was a power cut and no cooked breakfast was available. This affected my whole wedding party, many of whom complained. Some of the wedding party were given points (the equivalent to a free stay), another their bar bill wiped and another a full packed lunch for their onward journey. However, many guests including myself the bridge were offered no compensation or refund. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

« Best western Donnington Manor »

We have stayed at many hotels in the Sevenoaks area. I usual choice is the Premier Inn at Wrotham. However it can sometimes be pricey, so we choose to stay at the Best western at Donnington Manor. It wasn't cheap, but was slightly more up market then the premier Inn. The rooms were clean and looked comfortable. However the bathroom was small and the shower tended to get the floor wet. there wasn't really any where to hang our towels. The TV was very good and located on the wall at the bottom of our bed. However there wasn't a lot of space between the TV and the bed, and my wife bumped the TV several times getting bruised in the process.

    « Refreshing and comfortable. »

Found this lovely hotel by chance and was told it had been recently upgraded and refurbished. The room was great, spacious, clean and well equipped . Staff very welcoming. Slight gripes with the bar staff and their ability to grasp an order but not a big issue. Breakfast not too good, temperatures of the " hot food " not high enough and only cold plates to serve yourself.

    « Super Refurbished Hotel »

Well situated hotel with lovely quiet refurbished rooms. First appearance of the hotel presents a Thai theme but this is superficial. Very helpful staff. The Italian restaurant serves very nice food in pleasant surroundings we were a fairly large party and the service was admirable. Well done Donnington Manor..

« Scalding hot water from sink tap and a dribbe from the shower : - ( »

Sadly, what started so good didn't end well - the morning after a disturbed night due to the air con/pipework rattling, we found that the ensuite sink tap only produced scalding hot water and the shower only managed a dribble. This made it impossible to wash, shower or even brush our teeth : - ( Very disappointed

    « Surprisingly pleased »

When I saw "Best Western" on my trip reservation, I immediately frowned and expected the worst. But the minute I walked into the hotel, I immediately felt relieved. This recently renovated hotel located in the quiet neighborhood of Senvenoaks, just 28 minutes south of London by train, offered a clean, quiet and comfortable facility. The room was modern and the bed heavenly. All in the details: the bathroom had all the toiletries you might need, the rain shower was delightful, the illuminated 3x mirror a treat, and the big highlight was the activity panel (see picture) which gave the hotel staff information about your needs. From the inside of your room, you could electronically instruct the personnel that you were either sleeping, needing room service or attention. The room had 2 free bottles of water, a tea pot with a variety of tea options, and some cookies. All complimentary. Although the room had a safe, it did not have a mini bar. Breakfast was generally good and offered a variety of different things to choose from. Drawbacks: Some of the front desk staff was not very friendly and the wifi did not work well at times, making your work slow and frustrating. Also, the average age of the clientele must have been 80! All that being said, I would definitely choose this hotel if my business journey ever brings me back to this area.

« Visit to Brands Hatch race circuit »

Nice hotel fairly close to Brands Hatch circuit (about 20 minutes). Good breakfast and nice bar area. Plenty of (free) parking. Recently had extensive refurbishment. Will stay again next time in the area.

« A great Host Hotel for Wedding Guests »

I returned to UK for a family wedding and stayed at Donnington Manor which was close to the wedding activities. The accommodation was very good and the service excellent. There was a need to require a car as the hotel is not close to shops or services. It is situated close to Sevenoaks which is a charming country town in Kent. A great week end.

    « Great »

Hotel definitely more than expected very large room. All facilities available and high standard. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had good selection. Definitely recommended and will definitely visit again

    « Nice »

Nice hotel, room 312 was large and in a quiet part of the hotel. Try the Italian restaurant, very good evening meal and a decent English breakfast, too. It's in a good location, near the M25 and handy for lots Kent and Surrey. It's not to obvious a location for your satnav, but with info from the receptionist we found it easily.

« Good nights sleep; just don't miss the entrance sign! »

On behalf of my Dad and his wife I booked an Executive room (the ?Dunton' room) for seven nights which, I was told by the hotel, was more spacious than a Standard room. The size of the room was disappointing; I have stayed in larger standard rooms at Premier Inns! Bearing in mind the stay was for seven continuous nights, the room was rather cramped; e.g. in addition to the desk chair there was only room for one lounge chair. However, the room was quiet and well equipped with a fridge, iron and ironing board, robes, slippers etc ., and the bed was very comfortable which ensured a good nights sleep so it totally met their needs. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and overall my family were pleased with their stay. I had also booked the Cromwell Suite for my Dad's celebratory 80th birthday luncheon. Nuno understood our needs perfectly and he and his team looked after us very well and ensured the day was a success. We had a pre-agreed menu of three courses and the food was excellent. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone enjoyed the day. Visibility of the hotel's entrance signage could be improved; the ?flag' advertising their Osteria Italian Restaurant takes precedence and obscures the name of the hotel so most of our guests drove passed the hotel and still couldn't see the hotel's name when they approached it from the other direction. Readers of this review may like to take note! Overall, very good and I would recommend.

« Nice hotel made better by nice staff »

This was an overnight trip, business contacts event away from home. The check in was straightforward and a taxi was called for me to get on my way so the receptionist on duty helped form a positive impression. When the event was over I came back to the hotel and tried the bar. The next day I stayed long enough for lunch. The lunch I was impressed with, both in terms of the food itself and the good level of service. This is a nice hotel to come to in a quiet place but what makes it all that much better is the good humoured friendly staff. This place I would like to come back to.

    « New hotel/great refurbishment »

I was really impressed with the beautiful room that we had.. It was opposite one of the conference rooms where a wedding was being held so imagine if we had got back before the wedding ended it would have been quite noisy/strange to have wedding guests outside our door. Anyway, it's a nice hotel and the breakfast was good enough. I had a brilliant sleep - not sure if that was to do with the amount of wine I had drank beforehand!

« Handy for Chartwell and motorways »

We have stayed at a number of Best Western hotels and the fact they are individually owned shows. Friendly staff with a good welcome. One of us has mobility issues so we had booked one of the fifteen or so ground floor rooms. This hotel has recently had a major revamp with high quality fittings and furnishings. Although the motorway is guide near the is no sound in the rooms which have aircon. Breakfast good choice. We were late getting down so bacon somewhat dry. Large well lit car park.

    « Great hotel »

Newly refurbished hotel, easy check in, friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable and quiet. A perfect one night stay after a music festival in Kent before driving home the next day. Would definitely stay again

    « Nice »

Parking was easy as was check in. The rooms have been nicely refurbished since I was here a few years ago. My room swipecard didn't work but I'm not going to let that mar my experience as everything else worked fine. The hotel gets bonus points for providing hot chocolate sachets in the room. I like a hot choc before I go to sleep and I cannot remember the last time that I stayed somewhere that provided one. A sample menu had been placed on my bed but what's the point in that? If I need to be tempted to eat in then I need to see the actual menu to avoid disappointment. Breakfast was also good. A fried egg was freshly cooked for me and the usual buffet food was available. I would definitely like to come back again.

    « Pleasantly Surprised! »

We reserved an Executive Room here to break our return journey to the Isle-of-Wight, and were very pleasantly surprised and impressed with this modern AA Four-Star Hotel. Our 1st. floor Room was enormous (!) with a comfortable 'Super-King' size Bed - it was so large that it might have been a 'Queen-Size' Bed! The Tea/Coffee amenities were adequate and included both still and sparkling Water. The En-Suite Bathroom, although 'compact', included a very nice walk-in Shower, W.C. & shallow Washbasin. A massive wall-mounted TV in the Lounge area could easily be viewed from the Bed. Our Bedroom overlooked the rear car-park plus, an unusual Curved-Wall Water Feature, it was perfectly quiet with no noticeable Motorway Traffic noise. A splendid Buffet Breakfast was enjoyed in the Restaurant. We did not have time to experience the many other amenities offered at this Hotel, i.e. Swimming Pool, Sauna, etc. All the Staff were unfailingly pleasant and courteous. We have slept in several Best Western Group Hotels, both in this Country and Abroad, and have never been dissatisfied! I am delighted to recommend the Donnington Manor Hotel to other travellers.

« Good hotel with an odd mixture of styles »

Good sized accommodation and very clean. It offers a decent sized working area, large TV and one of the most comfortable hotel beds that I have slept in. It's in a quite location and not far from the town center,

« Nice hotel, shame about the restaurant! »

A very nice hotel, I understand it has been recently refurbished. The standard of the rooms is very good with large comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms, the shower is a lovely large one. There was a bit of noise from people closing doors (they do have a tendency to bang) but on the whole the hotel was lovely. I did however overhear on the last night that there was a gym in the hotel, I was never told about this when I checked in! The downside to this hotel is the restaurant! On the first morning I asked for poached egg on toast and eventually got a piece of warm bread with a part cooked egg, I was offered a replacement but it had taken so long to get the first meal I declined. The menu in my opinion was too heavily biased to Italian food, there were not enough English dishes on the bar menu or the restaurant menu!

    « A lovely hotel with a so-so restaurant »

We passed right by it on the first pass, but returned quickly to find a new-looking motel with elephant sculptures out in front. They upgraded us to a very luxurious room (?Hever,? I think), probably because we were Best Western Rewards members. The room was very large, but also without places to put bags. The bed was excellent. And a rain shower again. We had dinner in their ?Italian? restaurant, but not a very good one. For starters, we both had a salad of tiny prawns -- a very generous portion, but dressed with too much mayonnaise -- and then swordfish in a too-strong tomato and olive sauce which overpowered the thin piece of fish. Just not very Italian!

« Lots of charm in a nice setting »

The hotel has two sides which is lovely , the very modern room block and the very old world manor . Staff are very professional and efficient and the rooms are very clean and modern . Food was nice , a bit expensive for what it was but ok . Bar area good and a lovely bar man . Nice but premier inn is just as good for less price .

    « European Road trip »

We have stayed at Best Western Donnington Manor before and would again. We would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is situated in a quiet backwater just outside Sevenoaks so is quiet but handy for Sevenoaks and M25 / M20. Very clean, organised, comfortable, quiet. Great staff, notably Ronnie the manager and Karen on reception. Recommended!! Room Tip: In a quiet location so no room better than another for me

    « Good weekend away »

Lovely place to stay, comfortable bed, quiet room,, working air con. what more can you ask from a hotel. The older male staff serving food should be encouraged to appear tidier ie ties loose and shirt unbuttoned is not a professional approach, the service was excellent

    « Super hotel »

This newly refurbished hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful. I hope that the fitness centre opens soon. Well placed for M25 junction 4. Not much more to say..... well worth the money!

    « Great improvements »

Donnington Manor has been greatly improved in appearance and facilities after looking very tired for many years. However their new restaurant Osteria is not up to the mark yet. The service was very poor - not enough staff - and the meal took for ages to be served. The food was good but they need to put more effort into this restaurant if they are going to keep their clients. For an italian restaurant outside the town they have every chance of making this a popular venue but they are not quite there yet. Shame. I dont think I would go again for some time until I was happy they had made appropriate changes. There is a lot of competition in Sevenoaks for good italian restaurants so buck up your ideas Donnington.

« Ideal small business meeting Hotel" »

Pleasant staff, excellent meeting room facilities at a reasonable cost. Roomy enough to take 20. Catering above average considering cost. Slightly awkward to get to if coming from the east to west...sandwiched in between M25/M26 problem access.

« Some good aspects but.... »

Business trip for 2 nights. Reception still has some teething issues. No one offered to take bags up to room - I notice other guests also comment about this. I was only given wifi access for one night and not two on arrival - sloppy customer service. Rooms small and desk space small for working on. A/C noisy at night whilst sleeping. The bar had a reasonable selection of drinks. However the bar had complementary nuts. We bought some drinks, but we received no nuts nor were we offered any nuts. Bar has bar snacks available - but we ate in the restaurant so can not comment. Restaurant has limited menu - pasta, pizza and main courses. Some of the food items were not available. However the waitress didn't inform the party until after we had spent 15 minutes looking through the menu! No specials offered. Service was ok in restaurant, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Breakfast satisfactory selection and eggs on offer, but waitress service inconsistent. Eggs offered to some tables and not others. No one bothered to even mention the selection of eggs on day 2. There is no advertising of the selection of eggs on request. Toaster is rubbish and yoghurts of a cheap quality. Overall if i was in the area again I would give it another go, but over 2 nights and 3 days the service was very inconsistent.

    « Great Stay »

Stayed here for one night while visiting family .From checking in to checking out the staff were great. The rooms are very modern and clean had a great night sleep, we had breakfast as part of deal ,you get a good choice and great service there are plenty of car parking on site also and the Wifi is very fast .

    « Recently Refurbished-friendly staff »

Overall a pleasant experience. The restaurant was a little overpriced however the food was well prepared and tasty. The staff were very helpful. Let down by no clear instruction to use to phone i.e it was 100 for reception not 0 as on the phone & guestbook.

    « Overnight stay »

Good refurbishment just completed. Comfortable and very clean. Reception staff could perhaps do with a little more training. Plenty of free parking and a reasonable Italian restaurant adjoining the hotel with entry from the hotel.

« Slick well presented hotel »

The room's are lovely and everything seems brand new, in fact the hotel itself is lovely and there's even a Buddha in the car park! This Best Western is definitely worth staying at and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

    « Great weekend »

Stayed for two nights at this hotel as my daughter was getting married nearby. The hotel was lovely we were very impressed. Rooms were massive and clean. Bar and restaurant was also good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful too. Would highly recommend this hotel. Would stay there again.

    « Interesting Hotel »

Just finishing a refubishment. Elephants and Budhas outside but an excellant Italian restaurant?!? Pizza oven not working during our visit. However great value set menu, beautifully presented. Ideal for visiting a selection of NT properties Sissinghurst ,Knowle, Hever Castle.

    « Very good »

Upon first arrival found the staff very welcoming and helpful. Even though there are Indian elephants and a statue of Buddha in the grounds i think it adds to the appeal of what is an already lovely location The meal was excellent and well presented. The staff were attentive and very friendly throughout. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone anywhere

    « Disappointed!!! »

Receptionist unwelcoming, no help with luggage - nobody even opened a door for me. Left a day early for personal reasons and I was not refunded any money back - not even a gesture of goodwill offered to me to make up for my loss. Very disappointed to conclude that the general manager does not care whether guests leave unhappy and/or if they return.

« Strange definition of luxury but... »

Booked on a deal after receiving an e-mail - didn't really know the area so thought it worth exploring. Bed ok - though we didn't realise there were options on the pillows until we were leaving. Room was supposed to be "luxury" but actually quite small - I'm not the biggest but banged my elbow on the TV at least three times as the space at the end of the bed is too narrow. Shower average but clean overall. Breakfast good. Dinners reasonable. Bar/restaurant manager somehow decided that it was my fault that the hotel website is out of date. Building work and drilling planned to be carried out on Sunday afternoon and Bank Holiday Monday going on until 5-30pm with no advance notice. I suppose it's handy if you need to be nearby but not worth making a special trip for. Weekend wasted but a lesson learned.

« Excellent rooms and becoming staff »

Cannot fault the rooms or service, we felt very welcome. The whole hotel has been refurbished very recently and our rooms were comfortable and stylish. On our visit the restaurant food didn't reach the same standard as the waiting and reception staff and the hotel buildings.

« Nice hotel, value for money »

I stayed at this hotel recently for 2 nights, while visiting the area on business. Clean, modern rooms (not the biggest), which have obviously been updated recently. Plenty of free parking, good complimentary wifi, and breakfasts cooked to order (other than at very busy times), which is a nice touch. Small bar, which is not excessively priced, and a nice outdoor seating area. I ate dinner at a pub 50 yards down the road, so can't comment on the restaurant. I'll certainly stay again

    « Delightful Hotel »

Modern and clean with all the amenities. The staff were very helpful with directions and hotel amenities. There is not a lot to do in this area and we were just passing through, but it was a quiet, peaceful place. Plenty of free parking. Lots of USB ports for charging. The only thing I objected to, was that they pushed their rather expensive, restaurant, which looked delightful in a very old Tudor building. But, we just wanted a pub meal in the area, and the front staff wouldn't recommend anything.

« Weekends in Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells »

This hotel is a real find and offers 4 Star Quality at very little more than peak Premier Inn rates. The rooms are immaculate and stylish. The restaurant is excellent and offers a contemporary Italian menu which should please everyone. The staff are quite exceptional and clearly love working at Donnington Manor, which is reflected within their level of service, which is both personal and friendly yet professional. The owner of the hotel group has put his own unique cultural stamp on this hotel and it is reflected in the very classy and boutique feel of the hotel. A lovely hotel and always my hotel of choice.

    « Fantastic Hotel - a Best Western Plus »

EXCELLENT HOTEL - Best Western can be iffy as independents but NOT THIS ONE, which cannot be faulted in terms of location, presentation, facilities and staff. Recently renovated to exceptional standards which easily match and exceed some of the major chains executive rooms I've stayed at recently I'd happily return and enjoy again whether for business or leisure. This visit was with family and friends amounting to some 30 guests for a local church wedding, over a long weekend and the hotel provided the ideal location for our base. We enjoyed excellent service for our breakfasts, evening meals and late night bars!

    « Wow Fantastic »

The company I work for have never done the production in Sevenoaks before. So this was a first for some of the team staying here. The hotel is just fantastic. From the moment you enter, the grounds are so attractive, reception staff wonderfully welcoming. Special thanks to Karen who rang me the day before about my medical needs (hopefully that was her name) The room was stunning, décor, fresh. Special touches with the USB sockets everywhere, and plug sockets and USB sockets each side of the bed. Bathroom, with one of the nicest showers we have had for ages. Beds you didn't want to get out of and spotlessly clean. The only meal we got was breakfast. Great range of hot and cold offerings, nice range of cold and hot drinks available. The Lemon drink was such a difference in the morning. My only negative, and its slight, the beans could be hotter. Although we don't get much chance to see the towns we work in. We have all said we want to come back JUST for this hotel.

    « Donnington Manor »

A very comfortable up to the minute modern hotel with plenty of parking and very helpful staff. We used the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and found the menu very appealing and the food most appetising at sensible prices. The service was very good.

    « Clean, recently renovated. »

Nice hotel. Rooms are a little cozy, but fine. Clean and well maintained, with a restaurant that offers a good English breakfast for about 10 pounds. Staff were helpful with cabs. Not within walking distance of any train station.

    « Unexpectedly great hotel »

Stayed here for one night as was attending a wedding nearby and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! The hotel has obviously been recently refurbished to a very high standard - our room was very spacious and for once had great lighting (with light fixtures in the ceiling - which is hard to find in hotels!). Couldn't ask for more from an overnight stay at a great price! Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs somewhere to stay in the area.

    « On the road... »

We wanted to be close to the M25 for our Saturday dash home, so as to avoid congestion at the Dartford Crossing. this hotel was in the right place and we always enjoy the service from Best Western hotels. On arrival you are met with an eclectic mix of Hindu artefacts (Ganesh sitting on the reception desk) and an Italian themed restaurant - surprising but it works. Our arrival was dealt with speedily and efficiently. The hotel has been recently refurbished and we found the room nicely appointed with a modern shower. The beds were comfortable, there was good storage and a workstation with fast Wi-Fi. The hotel clearly caters for weddings and conferences and has extensive car parking. The road is quiet so we didn't suffer any disturbances from passing traffic. We dined in and found a menu to satisfy every taste. The food was well cooked and nicely presented but with one minor criticism - why does every restaurant in England insist on serving carrots and broccoli, in this context it isn't very Italian! Breakfast was excellent and provided plenty of choice. The most memorable thing about our stay - the lovely staff, they were a happy team and made our stay a pleasure. Would we stay there again - without doubt.

    « Delightful »

I stayed here for many weeks while working nearby. It was so good I did not want to stay in another hotel and only did one night when I messed up my booking. Staff were always friendly. The rooms were so comfortable. The beds were fantastic and despite the face the restaurant food was not to my likely no refused to stay anywhere else. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with the food. I just don't like Italian. I miss staying here and would definitely stay here again every time I visit the area. Thank you :)

« Clean and comfortable room, wish i had known about the gym »

Stayed on two occasions as working in the local area, the rooms were both well set out with the standard facilities plus a full size iron/ironing board which is an essential when away with work, The area is quite so can easily get a good nights sleep without being disturbed. Wish i had known about the gym (website was not clear) in advance as didn't find it until my second visit and would definitely have used had i known about it. Gym was small but had one of each of the standard set of equipment and all looked in good condition.

    « Pleasant stay »

Obviously recently refurbished, the room was clean and modern. Didn't have the breakfast although I heard good reviews from others who stayed. Staff were very friendly and the whole experience was pleasant.

« Quiet place, nice rooms and 5 stars service. »

Great service from all staff. Specially Nuno and Ronald. Restaurant service with great attention by the lady in charge. The best express coffee in the area. F&B with Italian touch, no doubt. The location for business meetings outside London and 20m away from Gatwick

    « Another fantastic visit!! »

We absolutely love this hotel. Second time staying here, this time for 2 nights. Room clean and warm. Service impeccable. Breakfast varied and fresh. We ordered omelettes and they were scrumptious. They can't do enough for you. Thoroughly recommend. Excellent stay.

    « Breakfast as a non-resident »

We live locally and have now experienced Breakfast on three separate occasions. We have had the Buffet Style Breakfast and also the Breakfast which you order from the kitchen which is cooked to order. Both are very good and include a lovely fresh fruit salad, orange segments, prunes and yoghurts to name but a few as they do ring the changes. There is also a selection of cheese, salami and ham to help yourself to. Lovely fresh bread is on hand for toasting, as well as croissant and Danish pastries. Fruit juices including Britvic juices in bottles are also available. Some delicious little tartlets topped with raspberries and strawberries and chocolate muffins were todays selection and they were delicious. What is particularly impressive is the serving staff who are always willing and cheerful and endeavour to meet your every need with smiles on their faces.

    « Fleas!!! »

I was eaten alive during the night. I was in a newly refurbished room on the ground floor. Avoid this place, unless you have a supply of tea tree oil (it worked a treat on my 20 or so bites when I got home ??)!

« Not one for vegetarians! »

I visited today on a work function today ....which for work facilities was ok.The venue is modern well equipped and has good access / parking facilities so I can't criticise this. The venue just didn't cater for me as a vegetarian...Lunch option was chicken with vegetables..when I asked what the vegetarian option was I was told chicken!... Followed by if you don't eat chicken eat the vegetables....made up of carrots, broccoli & potatoes all plastered in garlic. Sorry but this is really poor service in the current day to not even consider other food alternatives ..and when asked dismiss them to the side orders!... We drove 4 hrs to get to the venue today so to have a totally inadequate lunch is really poor...This would be the last time / place for me to return on the basis of such poor customer service ...I would not recommend

    « Newly refurbished »

What a fantastic find at a brilliant price! Large, modern refurbished room and super friendly staff. Though modern with every amenity, the hotel manages to remain cosy & welcoming making us feel right at home. Above average toiletries, comfortable bar area and friendly faces made this hotel perfect for our stay. Would highly recommend.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

I enjoyed my week here. The staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. The bed and cleanliness were first class. An added plus would have been availability of a fridge in the room and places to sit outside.

    « Lovely Hotel »

I stayed for one night when attending a friends wedding near by. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Newly refurbished to a high standard. My room was lovely and clean. Very comfy bed and a great bathroom. It was also very quiet.

« A great base for Kent visits »

Although this hotel is very close to the M25, there is no traffic noise. The rooms are very well appointed, and mine was excellent. Perfect to work in, good air conditioning. Very comfortable beds. The restaurant is small, being based in the original manor building, but the atmosphere is very good. The staff are efficient and friendly, and very professional. I have stayed here before and will return in the future.

    « Great Breakfast! »

Stopped in here en route to a meeting for breakfast. After parking in the big car park at the rear, I walked through the hotel into the small and quite cosy restaurant. The breakfast was the usual combination of a cold selection and a la carte hot food and I ordered a full English. It came out pretty quickly and was really hot and very tasty. They also had a nice bread and fruit selection and although it was advertised at £13.95 they only charged £10.95. Bargain.

    « A Delightful Location »

I selected the Donnington Manor Hotel for its location, as I was organising an annual 3 day event for 25 people and wanted to be near some major visitor sites. All of the arrangements in the early stages of booking were handled very professionally and without any problems. I obtained feedback from all the attendees and without exception they all praised the quality and comfort of their rooms, the helpfulness of the staff, the very calm and welcoming atmosphere and the arrangements for the two dinners and one buffet that we booked. Nothing was too much trouble and as the organiser of the event I commend the management and staff at the hotel for making my job so much easier especially their flexibility in our use of the conference facilities. I would have no hesitation in using the this venue again.

    « A High Quality Hotel »

An exceptional Hotel in Kent, placed well for many tourist attractions of National Trust and English Heritage. Recently refurbished to a very high standard in which the rooms and service matches the expectations. The restaurant food is exceptional, try the risottos, served by an excellent team led by Nuno and Giuseppe. every member of the teams are focussed on making your stay memorable. One to visit.

    « Clean, fresh, modern »

We unfortunately only had one night here ! Extremely clean and newly refurbished. Shower in the room was a delight ! All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Even the stand in bar man accommodated us for drinks that where not on the menu ! Would highly recommend this hotel

« A great stay at Donnington Manor Hotel »

I have recently stayed for two nights at this hotel and thought it was very well run with lovely friendly staff and comfortable facilities. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a decidedly italian slant if desired and the waiting staff were very polite and helpful. I had a double room overlooking the car park which was very quiet at all times. The walk-in shower was ultra-modern as was the bathroom generally. Good quality toiletries supplied and readily replaced. The hotel is well placed near good road links for the M25 and not far from Chartwell and other interesting places to visit.

    « very comfy »

Hotel has been refurbished, very helpful, large car park. Offered up grade but had settled into our room by then so refused as our room was very comfy, good air con, excellent tv. brilliant shower. We were touring locally and it was a good location.

« Well located good hotel »

Well run and stylish hotel at a great value. Enjoyed a good Italian meal too.Well located and good hotel. Convenient for Sevenoaks and other Kent destinations. Quality rooms with great modern showers and boutique feel. large car park.

    « Great stay! »

I was not expecting such a pleasant stay. I expected the hotel to be very dated and not up to much as I was there on business and had struggled with lack of nearby hotels. I was very wrong - the hotel is gorgeous with luxurious new rooms and fantastic bathroom. I did not want to leave the plush rooms and the staff were as equally as helpful. Breakfast was great too - Highly recommended!

    « Much improved »

The hotel is much improved in all respects now the refurb has finished. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well presented. Lots of car parking. Reception staff are welcoming. The food has improved and it now has an extensive italian menu as well as the reduced two or three course set menu at £19. Service is added to the bill. Breakfast is also good. All credit to the staff for sticking with the changes so that they now have a good hotel and restaurant.

    « Great comfortable stay! »

We stayed here for a few nights whilst we had renovations done on our house. Karen on reception was very attentive and helpful during our stay. The room which had been recently refurbished was lovely. Very comfortable bed and big enough for our 8 year old to squeeze in too! Recommend this hotel to anyone for a night or a few nights.

« Hotel Beautiful, Breakfast disappointing »

Reviewing on the basis of a one night stay, with breakfast. Lovely picturesque hotel , in a quiet and pretty location. Rooms decorated to a high standard - huge comfortable bed. Had a great night's sleep. Cooked breakfast was very disappointing - Every cooked item was either luke warm or cold. The only item which came out hot was my fried egg which they make to order.

« Great night's stay with excellent food »

We stayed for one night in one of the hotel's executive rooms and were impressed by the entrance, hotel's public places and the room itself. We had a very warm and informative welcome and were asked if we needed help with luggage etc. The room was spotless and spacious (and if I could be picky say that it needed an extra easy chair, so that we could have both relaxed and enjoyed the experience even more) and because the hotel was not over busy was exceptionally quiet. The contemporary hotel itself was contrasted by the classical Italian restaurant, which had a great choice and quality of food and service both at dinner and breakfast the next morning. The atmosphere was great (if a little quiet because it was the Thursday before Good Friday) and the staff attentive. We both chose different starters, mains and desserts from the set menu and neither of us were disappointed. (Again to be picky, we asked for a medium glass of wine and got a large one, a steak without peppercorn sauce that came with one and at breakfast, some mushrooms that turned into a tomato-:) ). Each made us smile and did not spoil our experience whatsoever, Supported by the fact that we will definitely stay again on our next trip, proves the night was a good one to be recommended to others.

« Excellent staff in great hotel »

Super modern rooms in a hotel obviously updated recently. Very comfortable with lots of sockets and USB charging in them - so handy. Restaurant and reception staff very friendly and went above and beyond making us feel welcome. Recommended.

« Overnight stay near Sevenoaks »

We have stayed at Best Westerns in the past and have been somewhat underwhelmed. However, The BW Plus at Donnington Manor was way above our expectations. Either the BW franchise has raised it's game, the BW Plusses are a cut above or just the Donnington Manor is a one off I don't know. To cut to the chase I would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely return. The hotel is situated in a quiet backwater just outside Sevenoaks so is quiet but handy Sevenoaks and handy for M25 / M20 as well. Very clean, organised, comfortable. We had some unusual requests associated with car parking and the fact that my daughter was joining me at an ungodly hour due to flying in on an overnight flight so we needed flexibility with check-in, check-out as well. This was all handled superbly by the staff, notably Ronnie the manager and Karen on reception. They went the extra mile and beyond to ensure any request was met, indeed, exceeded. The level of friendliness, competence and professionalism really does make that difference for the customer! We also had an enjoyable meal in the Restaurant, especially thanks to Nikki and the staff there. Recommended!!

« First visdit and I will return »

First visit here and a very pleasant one night stay, a mix of old and new buildings very tastefully done, the welcome was wasrm and friendly and the room excellent. The restaurant is cosy with mainly an Italian slant to the food which suited me perfectly, plenty of choice and variety and meal was superb,as was breakfast.

« A beautifully refurbished Hotel tastefully merging the Old and the New.. »

This Hotel had just gone through a major refurbishment and looks immaculate..The white Elephants and Buddha water feature that welcomes you is a nice introduction to this lovely hotel. Old meets New....and the merging of the two has been done very respectfully. In our experience this was tip top...the team here are professional and attentive, although there could be more of them (one person serving at the bar while another cleans glasses and not permitted to serve). The food was of a really good quality, I can recommend the King Prawns with Risotto.. Delicious ! Breakfast was of a very good quality...and would also recommend. One negative as this is personal choice: The mattress on the bed was far too soft. But overall first class and we will return again..

    « Beautifully re-furbished Hotel..Would Reccomend »

This is a little Gem of a Hotel in Sevenoaks..Ideal for easy transport links to London and also exploring the local area. Huge White Elephants and a Buddha water feature greet you and I am sure you will not be disappointed. The food in the Restaurant was First Class..can recommend the King Prawns and Risotto!! The Team here were excellent.. One negative: and this is personal choice: The bed was too soft..

    « Unexpectedly good »

Clearly this place has had a recent makeover. Large easy access car park modern foyer that still managed to integrate with the older beamed part of the property. Our stylish room was just perfect. A fantastic large bed and well appointed bathroom. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening but breakfast was good. But what made this place better than many indeed most others was the staff. Very warm welcome and friendly explanation of what's what then again at breakfast super service. In fact luca was superb something akin to top London hotels. My wife dropped her spoon as if by magic he appeared with another. And the lady with red hair and a trainee name badge Went to the self serve to get cornflakes for an elderly couple. Being ultra fussy Luca needs to have tuition on how to wear a collar and tie! Overall

    « Smart Hotel »

Took 9 rooms as a family wedding was being held close by.Friendly and efficient reception staff.Rooms of a good standard.breakfast good but a bit slow( some waiting staff training required) We all ate in the restaurant on the first evening and that was a bit slicker on the service front, and the food was quite good. Not sure that the mix of styles work, elephants and buddas....., but overall happy with our stay .

« Nice hotel, very comfortable BUT don not use the restaurant »

Our first visit to the hotel, we were allocated room 227. It was very quiet, just what we wanted. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the bed was large and very comfortable. Only slight problem was the walk in shower, this was great for me as I have a mobility problem, however the shower tray was not quite deep enough at the entrance and water did seep on to the floor. No problem for us but it will be for the hotel in time. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good, HOWEVER I would recommend that for an evening meal walk to the nearby pub, DO NOT use the Italian restaurant, which seems to be a franchise and not owned by the hotel.

« Excellent, comfortable hotel but avoid dinner in the restaurant. »

We found the hotel without any difficulty and appreciated the large , free car park. The receptionist was welcoming and check in was easy. We had room 227 which overlooked the car park and was well away from the road. The room was well insulated and there was no noise from outside. The rooms are not very large but have every conceivable amenity. The bed was large and very comfortable, as were the pillows. There was a generous hospitality tray , along with safe , nice toiletries and large soft towels. We appreciated the walk in shower and were not inconvenienced by the absence of a bath. There are two lifts and the whole hotel is clean and nicely decorated. We thought the breakfast was of a good standard with the hot dishes cooked to order. it was a pity that dinner was very disappointing. We would certainly return to this hotel but would check out the pub at the end of the road rather than dine in the restaurant.

Somebody's been to the Far East and brought back that influence to this hotel. The elephants at the entrance and the fountain at the edge of the car park ooze Thailand type touches but it's a bit out of place with the Tudor type hotel building. However, rooms were great and staff were friendly. Coming back after our party it appeared that the staff had done a 'Mare Celeste' and abandoned ship but that was not the case. A lone member of staff eventually came on hand to serve us in the guest bar but he was very overstretched and I was disappointed for him to actually be working and doing so many jobs at once. This can't be good for health and safety !!?? The breakfast was like Christmas in TKMAXX and the sausage, beans and bacon were all over the place along with what appeared to be runny mush called scrambled egg. Come on Donnington Manor..... support your staff and sort out the breakfast. Other than that I'd come again.

    « Wedding stay »

I stayed here the night before and the night of my wedding (held at a separate venue). The receptionist was amazing, explained everything and very helpful. The food manager was also very good, accommodating 2 large groups for breakfast both days. However there were some issues when we returned from our wedding due to other guests and this soured our stay a little (as my husband and other members of my bridal party were accused of stealing!). The hotel itself is lovely and has been refurbished nicely but I don't feel all the staff are working well together and this is why I rated this a 3 and not a 4. Would have no issue staying again and would still recommend.

    « Pleasant surprise »

I would recommend best western in Sevenoaks. I really was pleasantly surprise at the quality of the room. I booked the Executive Room and it was really worth the extra little bit. of money. Staff where all very good and attentive as would be expected.

« Wedding and stay over night »

Was surprised with the elephants and that amazing buddha I will be honest I thought it was a curry house from a quick look but when I drove in I was super impressed, I love the old and new of the building. Staff been super helpful. Most important room is nice. They have wife Nice parking So job well done guys.

« Great hotel let down by an awful restaurant »

Stayed here for 5 days the hotel itself is fantastic. The room was, modern and well equipped. However the restaurant is awful on my first evening I ordered a carbonara, the pasta wasnt fully cooked and there was so much black pepper you couldn't taste anything else. A colleague also expressed dissatisfaction with his meal there on another evening. However someone else staying at the hotel who was training us said the breakfast was pretty good. Additionally the bar is very pricey. I'd definitely stop here again if in the area on business but I'd eat elsewhere.

« Excellence in all areas of the hotel. »

The location is perfect. The building is historical but all the amenities are modern. Bedrooms are large & comfortable. The hotel restaurant provides delicious food so there is no need to go elsewhere. Staff are very well trained & are polite, efficient & very helpful especially in the dining room. It is a pleasure to stay in this hotel.

    « COLD ROOMS »

During our stay the hotel had multiple electrical problems. The room was cold as the only way to run the heating was to have the room card in the slot in the wall. Therefore if you were out for the day then the room was very cold on return and took several hours to warm up. Also there is no heating at all in the bathroom which was always cold. On the morning of our departure the corridor outside our room was dark (electrical problems again) and from early in the morning the stairway door next to our room was constantly banging due to the lift being out of operation.

« Very impressed with Service, Staff and Environment »

Having just stayed at the Hotel for 5 days I am extremely impressed with enthusiasm and commitment of the staff and the dedication to detail in the restaurant.Very impressive and nothing too much trouble. As a former British Vice President in an American Bank I expect the best and received it. Yes, there were minor issues but quickly rectified which is the response you expect. I plan to return with my partner again next month. Well Done!

« A nice hotel to stay at. »

The room we stayed in was well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries and a large television. The room was very clean. There is a nice restaurant and the staff are friendly and well trained. We arrived at 2pm and were meeting friends in the restaurant at 6pm so had a couple of hours to relax. We thought we would watch television to pass the time, however, the reception was dreadful. We could not get any channels at all. Rather than sitting on the bed watching pixels distort we though we would go downstairs to a sitting area. The hotel has a nice bar area however, to sit in there we would be at a table with a menu in front of us. There is a small seating area by the front door but it appeared to be an area that one would wait for a taxi rather than somewhere where one could sit and chat. The hotel is not near anywhere so I feel that a small sitting room with papers and magazines so that guests could sit and chat and perhaps pass the time would be welcome. We would stay here again in the hope that the reception problem with the television could be fixed. It was a problem overall as several guests had complained.

    « Good & bad? »

My boyfriend & I spent a night there for valentines. I had never stayed there before but the information on their website was good & I had heard it had a revamp in 2015. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised. The location is quiet & aesthetically pleasing. The staff were polite at reception when we checked in. The room & en-suite were beautiful. Tastefully decorated with all mod cons & nice toiletries provided. It was however freezing in the room & took a while to warm up. Also two of the main channels on the TV didn't work. I know we weren't there to watch tv but if you provide something it should work. We had booked a table in their Italian restaurant that evening which is in the old part of the original building. I think 17th century. It was a lovely setting added to by live entertainment during our meal (Michael buble style) so not overpowering while eating. The food was lovely & good value. We did have a slight hic up with a my chicken part of which was raw! The staff however were very professional in dealing with it & the charge for my meal was removed from the bill. When retiring to our room we left our order on the door outside for breakfast in our room the following morning. It didn't arrive & when we checked it was still on the door at 9.30 am. I called reception who apologised & breakfast was then delivered within 1/2 hour. I appreciate these things do happen, but it is how they are dealt with which can be more memorable. It is a shame as the hotel was lovely but the experience could have been so much better. Feedback is they need to sort out the catering side! In spite of what happened I wouldn't say no to staying again or even eating in the restaurant. It would be good to return to see if the experience is what it should be. I tried to make my rating fair, but it is worthy of a higher one but feel I'm justified given the food scenarios.

    « Good Value »

Very good value hotel. Recently refurbished, well appointed, clean, spacious rooms, friendly, helpful staff, no shortage of parking spaces. It worked out less expensive than staying at one of the better guest houses in the area. The shower in the room was excellent, would have preferred a bath though. TV was massive and picture quality excellent but reception a bit patchy. These minor quibbles aside - would definitely recommend.

    « Great rooms - comfortable beds! »

I stay quite frequently at this hotel, for midweek business trips. The hotel has had considerable investment and is finished to s very high standard as a result. The rooms are well thought out, with excellent blackout blinds integrated into the window frames... Little touches like this help to contribute to a perfect nights sleep. Power sockets by the bedside incorporating USB charging sockets make charging phones and iPads easy. The bathroom and shower are of a much higher standard than one might expect - so a pleasant and welcome feature! Breakfast in the mornings is an area that requires improvement. To ensure that this review is a fair representation, my views regarding the breakfast are based upon multiple visits and not an isolated occurrence. Whilst the quality of the food (when you eventually get it) is very good, the service is very disappointing. Hotel guests seem to inconvenience a member of the waiting staff, where any kind of communication takes the form of eye rolling and a series of grunts. We all have to start somewhere, and I believe this problem can be quickly and easily rectified by more robust training and increased supervision. It's a shame that this hotel is so close to being perfect - the difficult things have been addressed, but the basics should not be overlooked. Overall, this hotel is incredibly comfortable and feels modern and secure, I would recommend to colleagues and friends. However, with service at breakfast being as poor as it is, it may encourage people to visit the nearby Rose & Crown pub for an evening meal - rather than the hotel restaurant.

    « Refurbished to a high standard »

Stayed here on business this month and must say this is the nicest best Western I've ever stayed in. Would definitely recommend! Great staff, fantastic rooms, easy to find. Recently refurbished and you can tell they put the effort in

    « Very pleasant stay »

I have stayed here for business on a number of occasions and the newly refurbished rooms are lovely . Bed very comfortable and staff on the whole very helpful. Breakfast can be a little disorganised in a cramped dining room .

« Very nice place to stay »

I loved this hotel...the rooms were very well fitted out and the tv is so big it nearly poked my eye out (only kidding). The staff are very friendly and service was spot on. I enjoyed my meal which had plenty of everything to eat. The price was quite reasonable. I am off alcohol for now but was startled to be charged £3.50 for a pint of lime and soda. This is profiteering in the extreme. It would be cheaper to have beer. Breakfast service was not quite as snappy as dinner but the sausage was lovely and all the food very nicely cooked.

« Better than the 3* it's advertised to be »

I was pretty impressed with the hotel for what was advertised as 3 stars. Good clean well appointed rooms, fast and efficient check in and out, breakfast was pretty good. outside decor was a bit random but very smart. I'd happily stay here again.

    « Fantastic »

Our first stay in London and we had a pleasant, warm, safe and wonderful rest . The staff treated us so kind and respectfully that we got to know them by name. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants everything in one place, a bar for drinks, a fantastic restaurant and a new warm, clean and inviting room. Thanks to all the staff, cheers from Canada.

« A very comfortable, clean & modern Hotel near Sevenoaks, or was it Bangkok. »

Stayed at this Hotel for one night while on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised at the high standard. As a Diamond Rewards Cardholder I stay at a lot of Best Western Hotels and they are often 'okay', but Donnington Manor was very good indeed. Service was friendly and efficient, rooms were nicely decorated and well appointed, as well as spotlessly clean (a very good job by the Hotel's housekeeping staff). It has a nice ambiance and is a good looking Hotel... The only strange part was the Buddhist statues and elephants all around the place, felt like you were in Thailand rather than Kent?! Did not eat or drink anything at the hotel so can't comment on that, but I would certainly stay here again if needing a hotel in this area. Price was reasonable at £76.50 for a nice double room.

    « Well looked after »

I have been staying at this hotel for 2 weeks with my family. The staff are very friendly including Nono and have looked after us very well. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and recently refurbished to a high standard

    « A well priced hotel »

Stayed when in the area for a family party. As a family of 3, the price was great value for money at £85. No bed for my 8 year old, even though the hotel were aware that we had a child staying with us. Rooms were lovely, we heard there had been a recent refurbishment to the hotel and everything was to a good standard. Breakfast was extra and quite expensive so we chose to eat at a nearby Harvester after checking out early. Staff were cheerful and helpful.

    « A Hidden Gem »

Tucked away in Dunton Green near Sevenoaks this little gem is well worth seeking out. My wife and I stayed on a Friday night whilst travelling back to Warwick from a funeral in Tunbridge Wells. The first impressions will not disappoint and the mix of many European staff will only delight to provide excellent and outstanding service. The food was well prepared, presented and cooked. Great service, great value, great facilities, great bedroom, great staff and no I am not the owner but a really impressed (rarely) guest. Stay there soon we will again.

    « A good quality hotel »

A family stay to attend a local wedding. The bed rooms have recently been refurbished and consequently have good quality fittings and fixtures with comfortable beds. There is plenty of good safe parking but other facilities are basic. The breakfast can either be buffet style or 'to order', we experienced both the quality and quantity being good and satisfying. The waiter worked hard for us. We had one evening meal in the 'Italian / Sicilian' restaurant, generally we were very pleased. Prices are a little high but this was more than compensated by the food quality and taste. The service was good and well timed. We managed to get a group booking and paid not much more than a typical Premier Inn - it compared very favourably.

    « Merry Christmas »

An enjoyable lunch for a large number of us. Table decorated beautifully with an arrangement that didn't obscure friends sitting opposite! 3 course very good apart from very over done sprouts. Staff extremely pleasant.

    « Stay away!!! »

I booked a room in here on the 9th of January 2016. When booking the room I discovered the gentleman taking the booking had written my bank details on a piece of paper along with my name address and date of birth (which after I asked him to rip up once I realised what he had done) the receptionist informed me that the piece of paper was still sitting there when she started her shift for work. I spoke to the manager who thinks this is totally acceptable to take a customers personal details and then write them down and leave them for everyone to see, as far as I'm concerned this is a breach of data protection, I've now contacted the police about this situation, this has been a total inconvenience to me as I had to lift my money out my account and then cancel my bank card incase any fraud was commited on it, I've now accrued bank charges because I've had to empty my account, and the manager is going to do nothing about this or the gentleman who commited the act against data protection. I urge everyone to STAY AWAY from this hotel. The attitude of the manager and the staff is disgusting

    « Very Impressed »

Brilliant Hotel Someone has obviously spent a lot of money with a very impressive refurbishment here and the rooms are outstanding for this class of hotel. Very well equipped massive, comfy beds and a super Italian bistro as well. Did not have breakfast but very impressed

    « Impressed »

Friendly staff, clean warm room, very quiet. Excellent comfy bed. Slept like a log. Did not manage to eat here this time, but I shall be returning. Ample car parking. All in all a very good place to stay if you have to be in this area.

    « Very nice hotel »

A very pleasant hotel in a magnificent part old part modern building, located close to the picturesque Weald of Kent and only a few minutes from the M25. It has only very recently been completely refurbished to a very high standard. The food is excellent, but the restaurant is too small for a hotel of that size and it was under-staffed. The bar is small and not well-stocked, but there is a very good pub only a few yards away. The rooms are very comfortable, but I was constantly woken up by the air-conditioning unit which was very loud indeed and which continually turned itself on, even though it had been turned off completely: possibly a teething problem with the very new equipment. During our stay there was a serious problem which was not the fault of anybody in the hotel. The staff worked extremely hard to get the problem resolved and make it as painless as possible. All in all a very nice hotel, once the problem with the air-conditioning has been fixed. Hopefully the other teething problems have now been fixed, and I would happily stay there again.

« Great Hotel Great Staff »

Arrived early and was given a room immediately. 2 hours before normal check in. The rooms are clean and comfortable with excellent bathrooms. The dining facilities were good and the menu had many choices. The staff were attentive and friendly and always willing to assist. I recommend this hotel to anyone working or traveling in the Sevenoaks area.

    « 1st class to Dunton Green! »

Our first stay at this hotel has been a very positive experience, in the best traditions of the Best Western brand. Staff were unfailingly pleasant, helpful, and a credit to their hotel. Our only meals were breakfast, since we were eating out with friends in the area, but breakfast was well cooked, with an excellent variety of choice. Our room was very comfortable and clean. A second comfortable chair would be welcome, as in many hotels, and we were surprised at the lack of a towel rail on which to hang damp, used towels, but otherwise, a first class short stay.

« Our first stay but not our last »

The hotel décor and facilities look great following the recent refurbishment. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent Overall it was very good value for money. I am sure we will be back shortly.

« Smart, Clean and Polite! Great Shower!!!! »

I stayed here for a business overnight stay, the staff are very polite and helpful. The hotel is smart and modern, the car park is close to the reception. The room was really very nice, very comfy bed with soft clean sheets. A desk and wifi so working wasn't a problem. The best bit was the shower! a great walk in with the big square head and nice and powerful. I didn't eat dinner as we ate out in town but the receptionist arranged a taxi for us. The bar was nice for pre drinks and when we got back later as well. Breakfast, was nice, the bacon wasn't the best but everything else was fine.

    « Pleasantly surprised...... »

A 3* hotel that is in fact a 4* after a £2.8m refit. Excellent accommodation, building, environment and staff. Ticks every box and would recommend to everyone. A special mention for Natalia on Reception who checked us in early, ordered a cab at 1.15pm and then Chased the Taxi Firm at 1.20pm when it hadn't arrived - without being asked. Very attentive and courteous. I believe it was Karen who checked us out - again, no issues, courteous, polite and efficient. The rooms have just been decorated and although small, it was perfectly adequate - and clean. We slept very well. Breakfast was made to order and good and the option of cereals, toast, juices and pastries were all available buffet-style. Again, the staff were great and even offered to make me the toast after I had gone to the toaster to do same. A great experience and a great weekend. Thanks to Donnington Manor. Lovely experience.

    « Perfect! »

Sevenoaks did not seem to me to have a great choice of hotels. I am female and in my mid sixties and wanted a nice place for an overnight stay - anonymous, clean, comfortable, easy to find, and somewhere I wouldn't feel out of place in my own. I didn't expect it when I booked but Donnington Manor was perfect. Friendly staff (helped with my mobile phone problems), lovely room which was so comfortable, beautifully and newly decorated and very clean; bathroom was particularly well done - no bath but lovely walk in shower. I ate dinner in the dining room but could have had room service as with breakfast. I would recommend it unreservedly.

    « Friends Birthday Celebration »

Excellent overnight stay, that was bolstered by fantastic location to get to M25 Jcn 5 Good local pub within walking distance and superb bed to aid good nights rest. Over all will use this Hotel again in future.

    « Good hotel »

I stayed for 5 nights. Room was great, staff were friendly. Obviously newly refurbished, I found the bed very comfortable and the room nice and quiet. Could do with less pillows/cushions. Every day I had to remove 7 of them from the bed. I would certainly recommend staying here, but would avoid the bar. Lacking in atmosphere and charged me £3.95 for a half pint of draught Peroni. No, that's not a typo. I'd recommend going to the the nice pub down the road.

    « Office Christmas Party »

Only stayed one night after our office Christmas Party. The hotel has recently had an update and the rooms are modern and nice and clean If a bit small. We were in room 105 and you do hear the noice from the reception and bar, which kept us awake until after 1am, so try and get a room further down the corridor or on the first floor. We did book late so this is probably one of the last rooms. Christmas dinner and dance was good with a good deejay but food was bland. Staff in reception and waiting staff friendly.

    « Refurb »

Stayed here for an overnight through work. First time since the refurbishment. What an upgrade!!!! Quality stylish rooms, well fitted, with great walk in showers. A massive change from the old facilities. Well done the owner

    « Very nice hotel »

Stayed on Saturday 28th November. Check in was efficient and polite. The rooms have a real wow factor. Clearly have been recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. The staff are polite and efficient. Overall a pleasant stay, would recommend.

« Great Hotel with refreshingly polite and helpful staff »

Myself , my wife, my business partner and his wife stayed at the Donnington Manor Hotel on a Friday evening. Our rooms were nicely decorated, with well appointed bathrooms, and up to date facilities. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent, the staff were all refreshingly polite and helpful and we felt completely spoilt. If you want a nice hotel which is good value for money with a team of staff which do everything in their power to make your stay a memorable one you should stay here. « Best Hotel in Sevenoaks »

My wife and I visited Sevenoaks October 25 to November 14, 2015. We stayed in Paris for 5 nights during the middle of trip. We stayed at the Donnington prior to and after our short trip to Paris. As our daughter, son-in-law and only granddaughter live in Sevenoaks we are frequent visitors to the area. We have stayed at several other hotels in the ares, and found to our great surprise that the completely updated Best Western is by far the best place to stay. The rooms are large, have quite a few amenities, and the staff very helpful. We found the breakfast had a wonderful selection from hot items to cereal with all the trimmings. We plan on staying here when we return

« Lovely hotel, but a late night Christmas Party with no warning meant no sleep »

So the hotel is lovely - as previous reviews suggest - and a great refurbish. My room was excellent. The problem was I came to a hotel to sleep. On arrival I was told there would be a Christmas Party with loud music on the first floor until gone midnight. I'm all for people having fun - but the purpose of my trip was to get an early night and early start. Gone midnight - the music was still blaring and could be heard all over the hotel. If they had warned me of this - I would have gone elsewhere with no hard feeling. I don't want to spoil anyone's party but I'd like the option of being warned so I can make a choice. Staff were lovely - but sadly they couldn't make the music stop.

    « Wow »

I was fortunate to be invited for dinner at the Italian restaurant and the recently refurbished Donnington Manor Hotel. Wow, what a transformation, the whole hotel has been recently refurbished. As soon as you drive in you are met by marble elephants and a Buddha water feature.Reception is bright and cheerful. The bar was a welcoming place to meet for pre dinner drinks. The restaurant had great atmosphere but what really stood out was the huge choice on offer. We were a party of 22, no pre orders required and we were very well looked after by Nuno, quite a character . The food was well presented and very tasty. I look forward to returning.

« Short stay overnight, excellent »

We stayed here during our trip form the south of England to the north. It was our first stop over after we arrived in Harwich by boat. Excellent hotel, very nice, spacious and comfortable rooms. The service was good; breakfast fine.

    « What a great transformation! »

Best night in a hotel for years! We run a small B&B ourselves, so appreciated all the more the warm welcome we received at Donnington Manor. The whole place has been refurnished and our room could not have been more comfortable. Despite being over the entrance it was very quiet, we never heard a thing and everything worked perfectly, including the Wifi. We had dinner in the restaurant, and went for dishes we hadn't come across in other Italian restaurants, beautifully prepared and, as it turned out, delicious. All the more enjoyable for the friendly and efficient service provided by Sistina and Natalia. Thank you!

« From Zero to Hero »

This was my companies hotel of choice but went downhill so badly we simply stopped going. I couldn't get into our prefered hotel so had to go back. WOW. what a transformation. At first I thought I was in the wrong place as I was greeted by two huge concrete Elephants and a Teaching Buddha and thought I had arrived at a Posh Indian restaurant. Carpark well lit, reception clean and welcoming. Issued with new wireless contact entry card. I went to my room. Again I was impressed. The rooms have been transformed. 1st up Aircon! Last time I stayed I had to ask for a room heater. now I had a room at a prefect temp. Next up the bathroom. Just spot on with ceiling shower and a shaving mirror with a light. In the room the plug sockets had USB connections for device charging. Tea and coffee available with decent quality biscuits and a couple of bottles of mineral water. All really nice little touches. Bed huge and comfortable with plenty of pillow options. This was a standard froom so a delux must be even better. Breakfast I was dreading. Last time a serve yourself Buffet that gave the impression it had sat there for two days with the lowest quality you can imagine. Now individually cooked with all fresh ingredients with staff who really do care. This will now go back to being our hotel of choice. Well done to whoever had the foresight and the vision to make these improvements in all the areas it was failing. 10/10

« Hotel is still developing »

I have been coming here on business for years. The recent refurb was long overdue but seems to have taken forever to complete. Some unusual statues have now appeared in the grounds. Reception staff are excellent. Bar/restaurant is expensive and it seems to be the same 3 course menu. Local pub or curry house is much better. Breakfast is variable depending upon the number of guests. The local 7 Diner does a better quality and value breakfast in my view. Rooms are recently redecorated. TV, tea/coffee etc and free wifi included. Large carpark. Quiet location so if its a warm bed and no frills this is a good place to stay.

    « Nicely situated »

This hotel is nicely situated about 3 miles from the M25 and about 20 mins from Gatwick Airport. We stayed as a couple on a Friday night in late September 15 and booked direct online securing an Executive Room with breakfast for £125. The hotel had plenty of parking and a nice modern feel mixed with some oldy worldy feel following an upgrade, not sure about the white elephants and buddha in the car park though, still made us smile. Check in/out was swift and we found the room to be very well equipped and modern. Nice comfy bed and bathroom and the room had a slightly grim poo brown decor. Teas/coffee/hot choc/biscuits/hairdryer/towels etc you would expect for a premium room. The only downside was the adjacent lift which made a bit of noise. The bar area was clean and tidy though the young bar lady bar was somewhat swamped when a coach load turned up at the same time for drinks prior to going to the restaurant. Nobody came to help her so we don't there was a Duty Manager available. Bar prices were the usual London rate. We did not have dinner only breakfast which we found to be of a good standard with a help yourself hot buffet to make up a full English. Fruit, cereals, continental and gluten free options were all available. Overall a pleasant stay with a good advanced room rate booked online 4 days ahead and yes we would stay there again.

    « Lovely, but pricey!! »

Booking a room isn't particularly expensive, and believe me...they are stunning. The bed was huge and really comfortable!! However, we were going to eat in the restaurant, and went down to the bar for a drink...and it was so expensive!! Glass of wine and a beer was over £12!! We decided not to eat there, as didn't fancy remortgaging the house, and popped up the road to a lovely pub restaurant. The car park was being remodeled at the time of our visit, but did not cause any issues, or disturbances and plenty of spaces still. Lovely staff and decor. Worth a visit...but don't forget the credit card if you're eating there!!

« Nightmare Stay in Donnington Manor »

I recently had to spend a week as part of a working day which consists of 10 hours. Coming to a clean hotel to rest is something which is expected daily whilst away. However came home one day to a room which had not been clean because it had been too 'messy'. This 'messy' state was a full bin unmade beds and a couple of cushions on the floor. The bathroom was very modern however they shampoos and soaps were not refilled on a daily basis. There was a broken gutter outside our room window and when raining heavily made it very disruptive at night when attempting to sleep. In a twin room it may as well have been a double due to the lack of space between the two beds. The management is very poor and feel that they are able to look down on others who earn less money than them.

« The best Best Western we have stayed in! »

This hotel has character as you are met by two massive solid marble white elephants at the gate. It has been totally remodelled and workers were in the process of finalising the details whilst we were there but they did not detract from our stay. The room was comfortable and quiet ith a wonderful walk-in shower. The air conditioning was very efficient but the controls took a little bit of mastering. It is important to set them to ?Auto' as otherwise the room becomes hot. The only downside is that the television relied on a terrestrial aerial and on Saturday night the BBC channels were unwatchable so sadly no Doctor Who! We would advise that they consider satellite or cable reception before our next visit. We do plan to come back again as it is a friendly place and all the staff are so helpful. A great three day visit.

    « A Brilliant Stay! »

The hotel is well signed from the main road and its location is great ? close to the M25, Gatwick Airport and National Trust/English Heritage properties. We stayed from 27 October to 1 November and had a truly fantastic time. It is a hotel with personality ? a rare gem when most hotels seem to come out of the same mould! Immediately we turned into the entrance we spotted a Moon Gate (a large, circular, stainless steel archway traditionally placed at the entrance of Chinese gardens) and the two 1.5 metre marble elephants which flank the driveway. We drove past the 15th century timber framed manor house (now the restaurant) which is attached to the hotel complex and came upon a marble Buddha at the entrance to the car park. This was being remodelled when we visited and no disabled parking was indicated yet. The entrance and reception area were tastefully presented with a superb floral display (changed during our stay). The welcome was warm and check-in was efficient. The whole hotel was just at the end of a major refit and the work has been done to a very high standard. Although we could hear traffic noise in the car park it was very quiet and peaceful in the hotel itself. There are plenty of bedrooms on the ground floor (and a lift to upper floors). Our bedroom was immaculate, well appointed and very comfortable. It had versatile lighting options including bedside and reading lights, an excellent flat screen TV on the wall, a wardrobe with motion sensitive lighting, air conditioning and efficient heating. Just remember to set the control by the door to AUTO and the temperature you want or you will cook ? like we did the first night! The spotless shower room had elephants in the door glass, a large shower with 'rainforest' head, huge fluffy towels and plenty of Algotherm shampoos and accessories. The twin beds were really comfortable and the lined curtains cut out all the light. Unfortunately Wi-Fi was slow unless you got up early. All the staff were really welcoming and helpful ? especially the restaurant staff. The two maître d's, Nuno and Giuseppe, were very attentive and led a well trained team. Sistina was particularly noteworthy. She was quietly efficient and nothing was too much bother. The choices available in the bar and restaurant for lunch or dinner were varied and well cooked. We ate three lunches in the bar (do ask for a restaurant menu and have a starter if you don't fancy a sandwich/lite bite) and three evening meals. The new Italian chef is a great asset. All the food was delicious in the Chartwell Osteria. At breakfast the cold buffet had a wide selection of pastries, cold meats, cereals, fruit and juices. The cooked breakfasts were prepared to order and the porridge was lovely! All in all this was a very pleasant hotel with a relaxed feel and personality. We will certainly return next year.

« Punching well above its price »

I'm sure we all have to book to a price point and what we pay we expect to reflect on the hotel we select. On this occasion I booked for a one night stay at the Best Western Donnington Manor only really because of the location, which was near a friends wedding and also because it met my price criteria. When we arrived it was dark and some workmen were finishing off in the car-park. A bit of worry to see builders at 5:00 on a Saturday, but when we entered the building the whole place looked like it had just been decorated, cleaned, polished and was very welcoming. Check in was easy and finding the room simple enough. We stayed in 219 which faced away from the road, but I suspect that doesn't really matter. The room was spotless, with a King size bed made with fresh linen and tonnes of cushions. The bathroom had a fitted double size shower and the whole room felt very comfortable. We visited the bar and restaurant where we met friendly staff and had an excellent meal. The reception arranged our taxi with no complaints and (albeit after a few drinks) we had an excellent night's sleep. From start to finish the whole experience was massively positive and I'd highly recommend this hotel.

« Well renovated and comfortable »

We stayed here ten months ago and wow what a diference 10 months make.Other than the dining room which is in the old manor, the whole hotel has been gutted and refitted to a very high standard. When we last visied it was looking very tired. Now it is bright, well appointed and very comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and the refitted bathroom in our room had a large shower with 'rainforest' head.Very quiet location, with no traffic noise

    « Relaxing stay »

Very last minute decision for an overnight stay whilst attending British Superbikes meeting at Brands Hatch. Though costlier than a Travel Inn, well worth the money. Lovely large modern room with spotless bathroom, huge fluffy towels and plenty of upmarket shampoos and accessories. Reception staff extremely welcoming and helpful, as also were the restaurant staff at breakfast, including the excellent and attentive Maitre d' Nuno, who upon noticing me hesitating at the hot breakfast buffet, asked if he could help. I requested really crispy bacon (even though plenty already cooked), and an egg fried on both sides. Within minutes this arrived, a nice and really personal service for what is supposed to be a help yourself buffet. We had initially thought the breakfast charge was a bit high, but actually really worth it as provided an excellent start to the day. We didn't use the hotel restaurant the previous evening as not keen on Italian food, but we strolled 100 yards to the local pub - The Rose and Crown instead. This was very busy but made room for us where we enjoyed a very tasty and reasonably priced meal, we'd highly recommend eating here. The hotel is well situated for Brands Hatch which is only a 15 minute drive, but beware SatNav instructions will try to direct you through narrow country lanes, we used our old fashioned map book instead.

« Good value for money »

I booked two rooms for one night as one of my sons needed to be in central Sevenoaks early on the Sunday morning. The hotel had recently been renovated so everything was shiny and new. The rooms were very comfy and compared well with a hotel we stayed at a few weeks later which was double the price. Good toiletries, tea selection and bottled water. The staff were very friendly and helpful; as my son needed to leave early in the morning they delivered a generous buffet breakfast to his room which was much appreciated . The rest of my family enjoyed the cooked breakfast later on. Very pleasant hotel with a relaxed feel.

    « Very pricey »

We have used this hotel twice before and was overall satisfied. They had before interconnecting rooms of a good size and although the rooms were a bit "worn out" we have always had a good stay here. After the recent renovation the price have increased a lot and we found that this was not value for money. We travelled two adults with 3 young children. Now there are no interconnecting rooms any more so we stayed in a disabled room with three beds and a double bedroom. The rooms were so small that it was hard to move around with the amount of luggage that we had. The bathroom in the double bedroom was tiny and the bathroom floor so freezing cold that we had to wear socks or shoes. We were also dissappointed by the bedlined and towels that had holes or was ripped in places. Wifi also very slow most of the time. We only give this hotel 2 stars because the breakfast is good and the breakfast staff kind and attentive.

« Fresh Look, Better Hotel »

I had stayed here previously and was not impressed. However, I was booked in at short notice by a colleague (not knowing my dislike) and was suitably surprised. It was clear money had now been spent on bringing the hotel up to standard. My room was warm, clean and inviting with a comfortable bed and excellent flat screen TV on the wall and a lovely walk-in shower. The other room facilities e.g. wardrobe, tea making, etc. were good also. The restaurant had also raised its game with a revamp with an Italian Chef and menu. The food was delicious and the menu was quite varied including pizza. Rooms were being refurbished during my stay, so the programme was ongoing, but not intrusive. Breakfast was a buffet with the usual suspects e.g. bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, etc. An egg was fried for me on request. There was also a wide selection of pastries, cold meats, cereals, fruit and juices. Plenty of parking and very friendly and professional staff. Check-out was a bit slow with only one person on reception, so bit of a log jam for the morning rush. Wi-Fi was slow, but not too detrimental to social media updates or loading emails. Good stay and will go again

    « Best Best Western »

Such a pleasant surprise. The hotel has been recently thoroughly refurbished and has adopted what i can best describe as a Balinese/Hindu retreat theme. It actually works really well and the hotel is clean, modern, functional and welcoming. Very friendly staff finish the whole experience off. Other hotels could learn a thing or two from this one.

    « Great location! »

This newly renovated hotel was most pleasant. It is also located near several National Trust properties and an easy drive to Gatwick airport. We were completely satisfied with our stay. Service was excellent.

« Overnight en route to airport »

We booked overnight, prior to flying from Gatwick to break the journey. Coach party arrived ahead of us and were unloading outside the front. The coach blocked the drive to the large rear car park. We parked on road, booked in and moved the car once coach moved. Checking in very easy, reception staff smart and courteous. Stayed in the Chevening Suite, Rm 301, luxurious feel to the room. Very comfortable king size bed, lovely modern bathroom with large shower cubicle, high end complimentary toiletries and fluffy towel. Safe did not work but reported this to reception staff in the morning. Room was next to lift, unfortunately noisy people retiring long after we were in bed, woke us both. Lounge bar very cold, external reception door open, as well as bar door! Had to wait longer than we should have, due to only one member of staff on duty, rushed off her feet trying to serve large coach party who got in first! Dining room lovely, wooden panels and beams, good to see the character has not been lost completely from the building. Breakfast very good, plenty of hot and cold choices, my husband enjoyed the full English. Staff very polite and fetched a jug of soya milk, to go with the Gluten Free Muesli on offer. Check out smooth. Would stay here again.

« Great price for a quick getaway! »

My girlfriend and I stayed here as a spur of the moment to just get a night together with somewhere with swimming pool facilities and were impressed with what you got for you're money! It is a more basic hotel but the swimming pool facilities were great and ideal just to get away for a night! Not far from sevenoaks village where there's plenty of restaurants and pubs! Cheap and very cheerful!!

« Two Night Business Stay »

I was booked into this hotel by my employers for two nights & was very pleased with the overall stay. Rooms of a very high standard with everything you could want. The room was spotlessly clean & tidy, a large bed & very nice en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was very god also, a good selection of freshly prepared food, very attentive & pleasant staff, I will be happy to revisit this hotel.

« Good hotel and an enjoyable stay »

Nice refurbished rooms and a very very comfortable bed were the highlights. Only reason I've not given it a 5 was because there was still some worker noise on the Sunday morning (maybe somewhere still being refurbished). The breakfast staff were a little over attentive, everything seemed to need repeating to them. The sockets in the bar didn't work meaning I couldn't charge my phone before getting the train. All the above very minor. The stay was enjoyable, staff friendly, breakfast decent and room nice. I have no problem recommending it. We stayed here for a wedding at the Grasshopper Inn. A taxi to there is about £20.
