Was in town for an overnight for a NY Giants game. Staff was very welcoming, the hotel was well maintained, room had coffee maker, fridge, and microwave and a pullout couch had to call the front desk for sheets and blankets and they took care of with no problem. A lot of dining options in the walking vicinity. After checkout they held my backpack until I returned after the game. FYI, traffic was horrible to get back to hotel as using LYFT was a nightmare experience.
The front desk receptionist was rude when we checked in and rude whenever we encountered her with a question. We felt like an inconvenience and the WIFI was horrid! Could not get any work done and had to purchase data. What I did like was that you had restaurants and Walmart in walking distance.
Spacious and clean (upon arrival) room, big bathroom. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast average, but super crowded. Breakfast hours 6-9am. Would be nice if these hours could be extended to 9:30. Elevators dirty and super slow. Hallways quite dirty as well. Internet spotty. Stayed 3 nights, and room was not cleaned or attended to once. Even after asking at 11am on 2nd morning for this service, on our way out of the hotel for a full day in NYC, and being promised it would, however upon return that evening absolutely NOTHING had been done in the room. Had to go down to front desk myself and get new towels. As a paying guest, this is an expected service!!
Mold in the shower and This picture does not do it justice. Upon first appearance the room was clean. Then we saw the bathroom. Completely disgusting. I couldn't shower my daughter. Our friends had the same problem. Front desk did nothing about it. Expedia though was very helpful. Breakfast is absolute chaos if you get there past 8 am. And it's only served between 6-8. One morning we went elsewhere. Bus service to the city was great. Beds were comfortable. Wifi doesn't work. And ac works when it wants to work.
I like the hotel location and cleanness. Easy access to Manhattan with bus 320 in front of Hotel.it takes only 30 minutes in rush hours and 15 minutes without. Air conditioning is working fine but a little noisy if you are sensitive to sounds.
The room was fantastic and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only one thing that I wish they could improve on is the seating area for breakfast. There is not many tables to sit at which makes it very hard to eat. If you don't get a table people had to sit at these long booth with no tables.
Excellent locations for travel to NYC and American Dream mall by bus {buses across the street from hotel}. Lots of eating places and Walmart is 3 blocks from hotel also. I have been coming to this location for the last 3 years and since they completed renovations, this location breakfast is the best, lol.
Great customer experience that went above and beyond to help me with a situation beyond my control. Newly renovated hotel, close to amenities and the bus stop to New York City. Breakfast included. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Definitely recommend this hotel
Hotel is in a beautiful area, many restaurants and shopping around. Desk service are excellent, they never disappoint you. Room is clean and beds are very comfortable. Very close to 320 NYC bus. Breakfast is hot and delicious. Coffee and tea are 24 hours for free. Many Parking lots and free. There are some little cons but not that much to mention, I'm not picky. I came to visit NYC, and this hotel offers everything you need to get a very nice rest and re-energize in the morning for a new day... This is my 2nd stay in this hotel, and I'll be back next summer. (Picture is the view from my room in the 7th floor)
This hotel is awesome. The rooms are the cleanest I've seen in a long time. The staff is helpful and friendly. Tanisha at the front desk was excellent. I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Secaucus area.
The room was clean and renovated. The breakfast was just ok for us but worked for the kids. The best part of this hotel is the bus that brings u into the city CANNOT be beat! It's super conformable and the stop is a 1 min walk! Great hotel if you are on a budget to visit the city.
The hotel was clean and included breakfast was good. My concern is that there was a seemingly unstable woman screaming in her hotel room for many hours in the night. I could hear her screams perfectly in my room. It also appeared a man from her room was hiding with his luggage by the ice machine on our floor. When I called the front desk, the employee said that unless I could specifically identify the room that the woman was screaming, there was nothing they could do. I don't think it is the duty of a guest to investigate the origin of another guest's screams. I tried to address the situation with a different employee when I checked out, and was told that I would receive a call when the manager arrived, but I was never contacted.
The amenities were nice, but it was the staff that made our stay exceptional. Especially Judit, our front desk host, who was high knowledgeable and helpful when we had reservation issues with one of our rooms. It's hard working 100s of miles from home, but she has secured our return and repeat use of the hotel for future work in the Meadowland area.
Room was clean and hotel is walking distance to Walmart and several restaurants. I like that we can catch the bus to NYC by just crossing the street. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Hotel is located at a good location. I felt safe walking at night to have dinner at a nearby restaurant with my kiddos.
We had a great stay at the BW Meadowlands for our NYC family trip. As a summary, you will be pleased. Location honestly could not better. Bus to NYC across the street and 15-20 mins into the Port Authority. Front desk was friendly and we got checked in quickly. Room was clean and attractive. Beds were very comfy. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was just what you need: eggs, waffles, bagels, oatmeal, cereal, juices, coffee and tea. Breakfast was a bit disorganized as there are no real lines, so people climbing over each other. But we went while the hotel was fully booked that week, so perhaps that was the reason. Overall, you know what you are getting when booking at The BW, and that was what we got. We were very pleased, and will recommend and likely stay there again.
Beautiful hotel. Clean! Rooms are great. Beds are comfortable. However, staff needs to be trained on how to approach a handler with their service animal. Clearly, staff is not acknowledgeable of the American Disability Act concerning service animals. If it wasn't for this unpleasant encounter, I would have given this property a five star.
Staff was friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable on transit and amenities in the area. Clean hotel, great breakfast with a variety of options to choose from.
Our small team stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel was ideal. Right near the venue, bus route, resturants, and shopping.
I visited with my 2 teenage daughters, the hotel was a base for us to explore NYC. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, the breakfast was great, good choices and variety, clean area and helpful staff serving breakfast as well as on reception, all staff that we encountered were kind and helpful. There were many helpful things nearby such as restaurants, Walmart, Target a short drive away etc. Transport into Manhattan was great, you could see the bus stop from the hotel door, it was literally just across the road, it was perfect. We felt safe coming off the bus late at night as well as in the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore New York and not pay Manhattan Hotel prices.
We reserved this months in advance for the George Straight concert and were psyched that we'd be able to check in, freshen up, and still get to the concert with time to spare. NOT SO MUCH!! We arrived prior to 3PM (official check in time) and still didn't have a room at 4:30!!!! The line was out the door!! Apparently they let a ton of folks from Friday night have late check out on Saturday even the hotel Was completely sold out on Sat for the concert. None of the rooms were clean. The manager, who WAS at the desk at 3PM, disappeared and left the two check in ladies to fend off the incredibly angry crowd. There was no communication from the manager to the masses and many were taking it out on the poor ladies. We did not get to the concert in time and missed a few songs. At least we had towels - some folks didn't. The breakfast offerings were icky but at least the coffee was decent.
I stayed for three nights and will most definitely will return. The location was perfect and easily accessible to NYC. Angie suggested some local restaurants- outstanding ! Top-tier customer service . Priced very reasonably. I would highly recommend.
I have stayed at this hotel several years ago and was pleasantly surprised with the improvements and renovations. Excellent location for business or pleasure travel.
Comparatively, ridiculously affordable. Ideal location. 500 foot walk to what is a luxury city bus and less than 20 minute ride into NYC. Several different restaurants of all fare within 10 minute walk. Costco and Walmart too. Liquor and box stores and post office also a 10--15 minute walk. Room and lobby as good or better than any Marriot I've stayed in and this was likely the nicest BW room I've had and there have been dozens.
Great staff! Very accommodating! Fixed a problem with our reservation quickly and with a smile! Highly recommended!
everything you wanted was at this hotel, From check in to check out this hotel went above expectations
I'll give the best the benefit of the doubt because they just remodeled. But there are a lot of things that need to improve.
ONE OF THE BEST HOTEL'S EVER. The room was Awesome. The Staff was Very Professional. The Breakfast was awesome. Restaurants were conveniently close to the Hotel, and Best of all, Walmarts was right down the Block. Transportation to New York City was also located right across the street from the Hotel. Totally enjoyed my stay.
The breakfast area is small when compared to the size of the hotel. Ran out of spread for bread/bagels yet the next morning still no spread. Not sure why staff did not go to local shop. It is close to bus 320 into New York city and the price for that is very reasonable. It's another hotel that only services rooms when asked, or every few days.
Stayed here after a Jet Game. About 2 miles from stadium. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean, fresh and well stocked with coffee, towels and 3 pillows per bed. I understand it is under renovation and will soon have an improved common areas. The continental breakfast was a bonus. Enjoy
The manager is smug, there are rats in the rooms that have nothing to do with the work, there are no pesticides, the rooms are very poor. The manager does not smile at all. The manager does not smile at all, as if we are the enemy, we wake up at 9 in the morning with the sound of construction.
No frills but clean. Free Parking, NJ bus directly to Times Square right across the street, ok breakfast and very nice staff. MetLife stadium 5 minute drive. I would definitely stay here again if I plan to drive to NYC. Our stay was a fraction of the cost of staying in the city!
The hotel is being updated and is going to be nice when completed. My bed was very comfortable. Be ready for noise if like to nap in the afternoon. First of all the rooms that are completed are very nice but they are forgetting about a lot of details. My room is one of the updated ones, but the blow dryer is not on the wall. It is one of those wall blow dryers and it is just underneath the sink and very hard to use. second I was never told that the towels would be in a drawer. So the first day I thought I had no towels and when I went to the front desk, they said “oh. they're in a drawer. everyone gets confused.” Next get ready when you use the TV and if you have the TV remote that is Samsung. It is the most confusing remote and it must've taken me 15 minutes to figure it out. The channels for the TV are very limited. When I wanted to watch the news the only thing that was available was CNN and I watch Fox News. Luckily, I could watch it on the main CBS, ABC, etc. If you like to sleep in a room that's very dark, good luck with that. The shade is sheer and you'll see light even at night. I stayed two nights and housekeeping never came so I had empty food containers and bags in my room. I probably will not stay here again. I'll go back to the Hilton.
Nice clean rooms with spacious well lit bathroom counter & showers. Nice sized room with easy way to control temperature. Also good coffee and great employees. They were so kind even when busy and remained professional when under pressure & dealing with rude people.
The room we were in was newly renovated and very clean. I really appreciated that. The TV in our room didn't work though (the channels were just static). The ceiling in the lobby was leaking which was concerning (though they were working on it), and due to the construction noises we couldn't nap (after a day at a dance competition a nap is needed) and when we wanted to catch up on sleep the next morning the construction started by 8 am and we couldn't sleep in. I didn't realize the hotel was under construction, something to consider when you book.
We stayed just overnight for a concert at MetLife stadium. Great location! Was easy to get to and only a short drive to the stadium. Our room was great! Clean and updated. My daughter and her friend loved the huge bathroom. The elevator was a bit scary. Did a weird drop when it got to our floor, but it's undergoing a renovation so my guess is that has not been done yet. Overall great experience and would recommend for anyone going to the stadium for a game or concert.
Upon arrival came to know my reservation was canceled. No email was sent in this regard...in fact I got a ' looking forward to your visit' email. Reception person was surprised too but as rooms were fortunately available, she reinstated my reservation...otherwise it may spoiled our plans. Hotel still under renovation, however the room/floor I was on was clean and nice.Complimentary Breakfast was available but very basic with few items. Bus stop across the hotel was very convenient for going to New York and getting back.
The hotel is basically fine. The room was nice other than the glass shower door which refuses to stay closed and kept sliding open while I was showering. The lobby has nothing but tables and chairs for breakfast and a weird unfurnished room adjacent to the lobby which was a mystery. The breakfast offerings were limited. Overall it felt very much like a budget hotel for a NOT budget price. I wouldn't go back.
Broken shower drain and fixtures. Old worn out furniture. Room smelled and we had a view of old rusty paint can and dirty rags outside our window. No Maintenance to fix shower for me and no manager ti help. Staff didn't think it was a big deal and credited me $50 of my over $400 bill.
The Good: * The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. * Great location. Just across the street from a lovely plaza with restaurants, and the bus stop which goes directly to Manhattan. Down the street, there's a big Walmart, and a shopping complex one block behind the hotel. * The staff were friendly. * There was heating and AC in the room. * There is free parking on site. * We we're able to store our luggage for a few hours after check-out. The Bad: * The breakfast was terrible. Literally toast, bagels, cereal and a small tub on fruit on offer. They only provided breakfast until 9am which is too early for those on vacation. * There was no sign on the hotel, so it was difficult to find (even though we'd stayed there in 2013 when it was the Hampton Inn). * Due to renovation work, we were unable to access the self-service laundry facilities (which was disappointing). * There was drilling and banging sounds quite early in the morning due to renovations. All in all, I enjoyed our stay. I would happily stay again, although in my opinion, it is not as good as it was when it was the Hampton Inn in 2013.
Nice hotel with friendly staff and very decent rooms, which were very clean. It was a little challenging to find as there was no real sign. The continental breakfast was nothing special, had to go out to eat.
Great Staff. A shoutout to Marvin and the front desk staff who went out of their way. The hotel can be updated but for the price we paid the experience was positive. The location is convenient and the stay was comfortable.
It is the first and last time that we took this hotel, the attention was very poor, the breakfasts quite basic, we were stuck in the hotel, everything smelled musty, the toilet was clogged, the cleaning was basic and they left beds without making and finally To say goodbye, a mouse appeared in the room. I, with my wife and upset children, called the reception and they told me that they did not have maintenance personnel to help me and that they could please change the room. If you are going to stay there, think about it a lot.
Excellent customer service especially Marvin and Linda easy walk across the h e street to bus. Approximately 20 minutes to NYC. Then 15 minutes to Times Square. Beds very comfortable and room very clean. Safe area.would highly recommend.
Location was excellent with restaurants and services within walking distance. We had a short drive into NYC. Room was very comfortable however the tub and shower could use an update. Otherwise we would definitely recommend this hotel
The worst ever customer service. They over charged me and couldn't find out why. I'm a diamond select member , but never experienced such a horrible service yet. It was a waste of time and energy staying at this place .
It seems to be decently fine and safe area. Hotel is pretty outdated at this point. But, they announce very soon renovation, which is badly needed. Stuff is decently nice. So, it will be very good place to stay in the future.
We stayed here 2 nights. The pillows were absolutely awful. I called and asked for some extra pillows. The person brought them up and my spouse answered the door and took the new pillows. They were also horrible, and they didn't bother to even put a pillow case on them!!! Gross. So, that was pointless. I called down and said that is unacceptable and that I'd like to speak to management. I was assured they'd call me the next morning. They did not. No one cared, apparently, and that really bothered me. How hard is it to put a case on pillows before giving them to a guest?
Hotel was amazing, the front desk workers and managers were very nice! They gave us wonderful advice and directions around the city! Hotel is located in a very convenient spot every is walking distance.
The staff was amazing. We had a few issues once we arrived with booking. But their team did an amazing job accommodating us since we had traveled from New Orleans. They made sure we were satisfied with everything. Thanks for the hospitality
Recently remodeled room (not bathroom and floors) much better than I thought after reading some of the reviews. Very quiet room. Pretty good insulation. I can tell the couple next door was arguing something but can hear clearly and I fell asleep while trying to figure out what they were fighting about lol. Breakfast has bacon eggs and all regular stuffs. Staffs are friendly. There's a shopping area nearby. Looks very safe.
Let me begin by telling you that I could not even stay at this hotel. The moment I walked into the lobby, you could tell that the hotel was a bit dated and not well cared for, but that was fine and acceptable until....I walked into my room. The musty smell was unbearable. I could not stand it. I had to go down to the front desk and tell them. They moved me to another room. The smell in that room was better but still present. Having not been able to breathe very well in the room. I went across the street for Lunch. I had to get out for air. Contemplating what to do as I had to ha e a place to stay and I was dur in New York in two hours. Well..then I received a call from my friend, who was trying to rest on the bed. He told me that every time you moved the bef squeaked horribly. At this point, I knew there was no way I could spend the night. So I went to the front desk. The clerk at the front desk could not even find my paperwork from my check in, which by the way had all of my personal information on it. Who knows where that went. She contacted the manager while I sat in the lobby. The manager came out and told me that she would only refund one night as I was there for two hours. I mentioned that I was not even in the room, as I had to get out and went to lunch. I have to admit I should have just jumped to the conclusion that I could not stay at the very beginning and decided to check out. But as I was afraid of not getting a refund and not having a place to stay so I didn't. At any rate, the manager told me to contact Hotwire where I booked the hotel. This conversation is a whole other story and unpleasant experience that finally ended in me getting a refund from them and a new place to stay. This only occurred after three hours on the phone and missing my evening in New York which 8had to postpone until the next day. Let me just say, I advise you to never stay at this hotel. If a hotel is in business then they should take the time and money to invest in some upgrades. New sheets at least, as the ones we had were stained and were like sandpaper. How do you ever expect someone to stay in an improperly maintained building that had an oder of must for more than ten minutes. Do the public a favor and invest in some major improvements.
the hotel has very friendly staff, cost-wise is very reasonable. the facility is a bit old, the hallway has a bit of smell. the pillows need to replaced in my room. staff sent them over quickly after we called them. they have typical free breakfast, fits basic needs. the breakfast area was VERY BUSY during breakfast time. I will recommend this hotel if you are looking for a low-cost option and won't mind some minor details.
