Best Western Plus Scottsdale Thunderbird Suites

Lana on your staff gave us wonderful service at check in. We arrived many hours before check-in 6 she found us a room . She was very helpful. The woman who ran the bar was exceptional and provided us with several excellent restaurant recommendations . She was so friendly abd we really enjoyed her!!!

We encountered a bad smell after we had been gone most of the day & returned to our room. We talked to the Manager & he promptly moved us to another room & gave us a credit on our bill. He asked several times if he could do anything else so it was obvious he cared. I've never had a manager care more for our situation.

This hotel is such a warm and inviting place to stay. Not only is it very close to all of the fun areas of Scotdale, it is also close to the TPC course and they take great strides to get you there and back safely. Breakfast is served daily and the hot food was incredible. I was so impressed with the menu and the quality of the food. Also love that the rooms are spacious and have lots of good mirrors and lighting.

We were in Scottsdale for a couple of nights and this stay was very comfortable and the staff was fantastic! Parking was easy. Room was spacious and clean. Places to eat were within walking distance or we could take the hotel shuttle which we did foe the Hardy concert. Highly recommend

Stayed here January 26-30 and lucked out with the warm weather. Resort is overall very clean, pools are not crowded, did not have to worry about seating around pools. There is a complimentary shuttle to old town which is a bonus it is first come first serve. We found the location to be okay, the rooms were clean however noise would come in easily from the outside. We loved our suprise “Congratulations” note from the staff! Overall, very beautiful and nice resort!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Excellent rooms; fair pricing; and onsite bar and breakfast that are both well above what might be expected. Plenty of parking onsite. Also, very close to many great spots in Scottsdale.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel over the years. My husband ended up in the hospital this time. The staff went out of their way to help me extend my stay day by day, and even set up a half day stay for the day he was released so we had a comfortable place to stay before our flight home.

A good hotel right next to Scottsdale airport overall, with good parking, big lobby, friendly staff, elevators, nice room. It was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. Everything needed was there. Hot breakfast was included, very nice. The entire hotel, however, could need a makeover, it seemed a bit old and drab. The price was exorbitant.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff! Best hot breakfast I have had with a hotel stay! They had a coffee station with quality creamer that we could utilize at any hour. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. We booked 3 rooms and got suites. We would stay here again!

We will not stay there again. Very noisy…hear all the others flush toilets, shower…what was worse was staff talking loudly outside our door at 6AM. This happen in three mornings. Breakfast was so so and cool. TV kept loosing signal so hard to find something to watch. They did nothing when we complained and I told corporate and they did nothing either. We usually love best westerns and are rewards members

My room was immaculate. Due to health challenges, I wipe everything with Lysol. Nothing was on my wipes! Cleanest hotel room that I have stayed in for 50 years. Staff is organized and very helpful. Zz helped me with my reservation and was patient in meeting my special needs. I requested a quiet room (412) and it was super quiet. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Thank you!

Quick overnight stay (to see Musical Instrument Museum -- check it out !) before heading back to CA from AZ trip. Quiet room, nice higher beds w FIRM mattress for GREAT SLEEP (did not do well other BW AZ locations w soft beds) and nice hot breakfast. Husband used pool in the am before we left, and said pool was refreshing..

Very good value for the money. Super clean and well maintained for an older property. Friendly and courteous staff! Bartender Lori makes good drinks and a delight to get to know. Second stay at a BW Plus and we are enjoying getting rewards here vs other properties.

Not sure where these reviews are from , but not my experience. I'm not super picky, but NO WAY WOULD I STAY HERE AGAIN. I was out up here along with some other colleagues and our experience was the same. Rooms stunk of cigarettes, I showed up the next morning stinking of cigarettes bc all my belongings stunk from the room. Thin pillows and barely a sheet or blanket. I tried to get more linens, NO ONE EVER at the desk. They sleep and are gaming on the computer in the back. Roaches in the rooms and a “screaming lunch lady” in the breakfast area making your morning anything, but enjoyable. Other than a good location this place is a dump.

No it is not the Fairmont or even close, but we loved the low key flavor, DIY aspect of this property. Bed was great - AC was not loud; everything worked. Breakfast was as expected - lots of options/no not gourmet but it got the job done and there was something for everyone. Getting a 2 room suite with an actual door between the spaces and not just a weak divider was great. Even the mini fridge was quiet.

Amazing staff was amazing the rooms ….are great and clean. Huge and the pool is perfect for the kids everything was good and the broadest was the best I've had in any hotels j was shocked how good the price was wow

The hotel is not fancy, but very clean and staff/service was excellent. The Breakfast more than met expectations. It is very close to Scottsdale Quarters and Kierland Commons. The hotel is located next to Scottsdale airport, but was not a annoying.

My stay started on not quite the right foot. Wanted a higher floor, but because we brought our pet, that wasn't possible. Got a second floor room in the corner with no view. After dinner, we requested a first floor room, and we got one right infront of a direct path to the pool. This worked out great! Rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. Staff was very helpful and accommodating in ways we didn't really expect. My girlfriend, my pet and I truly enjoyed our stay, and we'll likely return in the future.

This is a great place to stay. It is clean and quiet with excellent amenities and service. The staff is very responsive to any questions. The location is great, and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Excellent staff and location. The grounds are well maintained and what amenities were available they all worked. In addition, I made a mistake on my reservation, the staff reached out immediately and took care of booking me another night with my personal items in the room untouched (or the way I left them)

I have never seen a hotel bathroom this small before. I could barely turn around in the shower, it's almost like a bathroom you'd find inside a train or airplane. Even sitting on the toilet the tissue paper dispenser sticks into your side because of its awkward placement when they squeezed everything together in designing this tiny bathroom.

The service at this location was outstanding. Our room was very clean and we never had any complaints. The pool was also kept clean and the breakfast was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking!

The service was so horrible. Room service not provided unless you ask a day ahead. Did that. No room service provided anyway. Elevator broke down twice. The second time door wouldn't even open. Checkout person acted like they were on drugs. Super unprofessional and making excuses for anything except thier poor service. Customer service doesn't exist anywhere these days so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

Horrible experience because they gave our reserved room to someone else. We didn't to another hotel with available rooms until 5:00AM On a good note the night person Vincent was awesome trying to help us.

Booked our stay on Bring Fido app. It was fantastic hotel for our overnight visit with our dog. The room was clean, roomy, comfortable and there were plenty of areas to walk our dog. The front desk staff was friendly and professional.

A very nice hotel in Scottsdale; for us a nice respite when in the city for care at Mayo Clinic (Phoenix location only about 15+ minute drive). We have enjoyed the special rate when staying as Mayo patients. The suite arrangement of the rooms gives us both the bedroom and the front sitting area if one needs a quiet area for resting/recovering. We like having our dog along with us on trips and she's been welcome.

It was late and our first motel didn't meet our standards, so at close to midnight I was searching the internet for a motel that was safe and pet friendly. The Best Western Thunderbird was exactly what we were looking for. I was impressed from the first phone call at 11:30 pm, to the quality of the room, to the wonderful breakfast, to the incredible staff. We will stay here again.

We were pleased that this hotel, while not close to downtown attractions, was easy to get to and in a great part of town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding, providing different hot selections each of the three days we were there. The room was clean and comfortable for the most part. In a world where help is hard to get, I do wish this hotel could find a way to deliver fresh towels each day and empty garbage. Environmentally speaking, washing of bed linens is not necessary, but fresh towels seem to be one of the things that make us, who don't often stay in hotels, feel pampered. More importantly, in a tech-obsessed world, this hotel needs charging stations in the rooms. The electrical outlets on the the lamp did not work at all, necessitating having to unplug the alarm clock and strain to plug a medical device into the wall. As for phone and iPad charging, those items were left on the floor near wall outlets to be charged. This is not convenient, nor is it safe for have devices on the floor where they can be kicked about. Finally, I warn any guests who are larger than tiny people. The bathroom is minuscule. I had a hard time getting into it to to close the door without stubbing my toe. Overall, however, this was a great experience.

What a gem this hotel is! Large suites, dog friendly, fresh cooked breakfast, all amenities including free internet, microwave, refrigerator and coffee bar, all at a fantastic location for a great bargain price.

I am INCENSED that a week later I am still suffering the pain of injury sustained as a result of unsafe conditions in this hotel and haven't received a call OR apology from hotel management! I stepped into a VERY slippery tub with the shower going. The tub had no treads or padding, causing me to violently bang my shin into the side of the tub! I then had to stand & walk in a wedding for hours in excruciating pain. When I reported to the front desk, I was told there was NO Manager on Duty and NO Incident Report Log! The agent then presented me with a packaged bath mat. "Why was I not offered this at check-in? Why aren't they placed in every room?" I asked. "Some people don't like them" the agent responded. The purchase of such an item proves the hotel is aware of the issue but has chosen to take NO action to proactively protect the safety and welfare of their guests. This is "intentional tort" and "willful endangerment" for which they should be stripped of their franchise license before they cause further liability to the Best Western brand; or their neglect leads to more serious injury or death of a guest. (Two other associates also reported the same issue, but luckily didn't get hurt like I did.) I have been in the hospitality industry for almost 40 yrs and have opened 4 Diamond hotels. I know the protocols and standards. They are not being followed by this hotel.

What a great hotel! Amazing staff, lovely facilities, clean rooms, incredible breakfast. My new go to in Scottsdale. I will definitely be back. Breakfast host in particular was the kindest and most attentive staff member ever.

We stayed here the last two nights of our family Arizona visit. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The service was outstanding. Breakfast was very good. Steve who was in charge of the dining area was especially friendly and made sure that everyone felt welcome and had everything they needed.

I made a teaser action at the Thunderbird, and then showed up a week earlier than expected yet they honored the reservation and the price! I mistakenly booked the wrong date and when I called to arrange for early check in they told me that I didn't have a reservation for that night but was scheduled for next Sunday. They modified the reservation, helped me to arrange for a third party refund, and got me early check in! That is good customer service!

Got to Scottsdale early from Sedona and was just going to ask to use the pool until our room was ready but they said it was and gave us our room early and for us it worked out great. Rooms were very clean and the pool was nice. There was even a husband and wife duo that made a nice breakfast.

We stayed for 7 days in March and found the suite to be very spacious with two rooms, two tvs, microwave and fridge. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. Others have commented that the cleaning service was not up to par but when we asked we received service. Actually it is kind of nice not having someone come every day to your suite so we appreciated asking for service as we needed. Breakfast was better than most complimentary breakfasts with variety. The king bed was very comfortable. Liked the idea of the tub/shower combination with grab bars. Yes the bathroom is tiny but adequate> However we did not appreciate the noisy fan which comes on automatically every time you turn on the light. Quiet in our suite despite being so close to Scottsdale Airport but was noisy around the pool and the occasional smell of the exhaust from the planes. Would recommend the Volanti restaurant across the street at the Scottsdale Airport.

Our one week stay was enhanced by the staff at the hotel. Every staff member was pleasant and friendly. Steve in the breakfast room went over and above to give us travel information and maps. The buffet breakfast was the best I have had at no additional cost. Brian, the pool maintenance man, shared information on the natural history of the area and driving information. The desk staff were helpful with internet service and selling snacks in the little store area. Without hesitation this is a wonderful place to stay in a convenient location.

This is a nice hotel , that has great staff!! I enjoy staying here . Rooms are very nice and clean . Hotel is located near , many shops and restaurants. Close to the freeway , if you're going into Phx. Very relaxing !

It was VERY BAD experience, I would NOT RECOMMEND at all. We stayed 5 nights and 6 days from 22nd to 27th March 2022, I was on ophthalmology conference, the room was not cleaned at all during my stay, not even once, no change of toilet paper, no change of towels, even though I complained many times. One time they said "we have no cleaners", the other time "we provide no cleaning for shorter than 5 days" ( even though I said I was 6 days stay), the last time they said "you have to empty the trash bin yourself, and we will give you empty black bags"!!!!!! DO NOT GO THERE

Our suite was on the third floor and was really quiet. In fact I was surprised - didn't hear the neighbors at all, and the Scottsdale airport didn't seem to be very busy. The suite was 2 big rooms, the first room which opened to the hallway had a sleeper sofa, TV, microwave, sink area, coffee maker, desk. The inner room was the bedroom with 2 full size (not queens) beds which were comfortable. The bathroom was small. Currently they don't clean your room so you have to leave your trash outside your door, and ask for stuff at the front desk as you use it up (tissues, TP, towel change, etc). Breakfast was standard basic hotel hot food. Staff was pleasant. Small gym, functional. Nice pool, about 12.5 yards long, well kept, and early in the morning you can swim laps. Just a few blocks to the Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland Commons, easy to walk there (shops, restaurants). Looking at the astronomical prices that other hotels and apt rentals are charging in this area, this Best Western is good value.

Motel is literally next door to airport. Can also hear crying babies through walls. No nearby affordable restaurants or grocery stores, which is challenging when participating in a competition all day at Westworld. Room was never cleaned: trash not removed, no clean towels, bed never tidied up. Pricey for essentially camping indoors.

The first room was dirty with garbage in the cans and previous guests clothes on the floor. I was moved to a different room that was also dirty. There was no housekeeping on weekend so I ended up cleaning it myself. The front desk employee said she was going to submit for bed to get a complimentary night for my trouble but it never happened. The breakfast was good. The hot tub was murky and dirty. The pool was great.

We'd planned 5 nights here for a wedding weekend. Didn't know the hotel was smack next to airport runway. Very noisy, private planes take off every few minutes. No such thing as relaxing at the pool. Bathroom is very tiny, with noisy exhaust fan that you can't shut off. We left after one night. Very overpriced for what it is. The only plus was the room/suite was large.

The hotel is older. Bathroom is tiny. They weren't offering daily maid service so I had my room cleaned twice on a 12 night stay which I practically had to beg for. The breakfast is food and the breakfast staff (Gina and Steve) are terrific!

The breakfast was exceptional. Each morning there was a wide selection to choose from including fresh in- house baked pastry items. Steve and his team could not have been better. They were helpful, offering choices and very welcoming. Have stayed at many hotels without full service restaurants offering breakfast and none can compare with the service and the food provided by the team. Lori, the bartender was tons of fun which added to patrons interacting with each other. Found it difficult to leave! She was very helpful with suggestions regarding restaurants.

Three nights no fresh linens or room cleaning The staff whined about CoViD. The hotel filth made the danger higher. The breakfast was so so. The bar was minimal. Cleaning staff walked around no masks on their faces.

Not expecting much, we were more than delighted with our stay here. From the moment we checked in to our departure, we enjoyed friendly service from every staff member. The spacious rooms, the pool, all the amenities and the topper was the breakfast. We are never fond of the free breakfast and try to avoid it if we can. But, we encountered the most amazing host that made the entire dining experience better than we have had even at paying high end restaurants. His friendliness and willingness to make our breakfast the best it could be was so appreciated. We will remember this experience and talk about it for many years to come.

Our stay started with us moving to another room due to the phones not working in the room. Next we were told of the Happy Hour at the bar, which, of course was closed, so there was no Happy Hour. Then finally, I inquired about the free breakfast. I asked if there were potatoes adn was told "the will be glad to make some for you".....Well, when I asked for some, they looked at me like I was speaking a different language, so there were no potatoes.

Best hotel breakfast ever. Real eggs, real sausage, real gravy and biscuits, robust coffee and it was complimentary and tasted great. My mom even liked it and she don't like anything that she doesn't cook.

Terrible experience. Stay somewhere else. The area was really noisy, they allow pets- also noisy. The balcony overlooked trash in the parking lot. The rooms dimly lit. There was a pretty courtyard, but when I was working in my room, all I could see was the pillar of the balcony. Room 320 was terrible. Maybe try staying on the other side of the building.

we can count on a consistently great experience from checkin to breakfast to checkout. We stay here only about twice a year, but the breakfast manager always recognizes us! He is amazing and will cut fresh fruit for us, make sure our eggs are hot, etc. the front desk staff is always helpful and honor our room requests. Won't stay anywhere else in Scottsdale!

Great Hotel, very nice rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, and good location. Was in Scottsdale to visit family, and this hotel was really close to their place. It is also a good central location in the Phoeniz area. My son loved the outdoor pool and I loved the hot tub!

We were to stay for 2 nights. We left the first day. The room smelled so bad. Imagine body odor mixed with smoke. The room was dirty and dingy. Carpet was stained. Bathroom was gross. The TV didn't work. Would never recommend this hotel.

This property is older but very well maintained. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. We had a good, full breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Excellent value. Adjacent small airport was no problem.

I stayed alone for a couple of nights -working stay. Not the nicest looking hotel. Had to request toilet paper immediately after checking in. Felt like a down and out weekly stay scene, rather than what I expect in a reputable hotel . Stayed 2 nights. Extremely loud day and night. Disruptively so. Fighting, yelling, police called after hours of disruption. Felt unsafe . Staff is not trained in concierge, from what I experienced. Treated very poorly by staff. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Clean spacious rooms and landscaped courtyard. A great hot breakfast, even made there biscuits fresh. Good variety of other choices to eat. Large pool and spa area.

Booked a balcony room that overlooked...nothing really. Room was clean but nothing special. Bathroom was quite small. Bed was not very comfortable. Looking forward to the hot tub, but it only held two people. It was WAY too small for this size of property so we were unable to use it due to two people already being in it. Breakfast was hot, but take out only, but it did taste pretty good. The only way into our room was through the lobby, even though there was parking right below us, we would have had to walk around the entire building to get to our room. Property seemed run down...after sundown there were large wet spots all over the sidewalk which was a slipping hazard.

This was my second stay at this hotel and I loved it. It's always nice to stay here, very conveniently located near North Scotsdale quarter, Scotsdale airport without compromising on quietness. Nice location, the staff are always friendly and helpful and even during the pandemic, they made the effort to provide a lovely breakfast. Rooms are clean and spacious. Must thank the hotel how helpful and understanding they were that I have to change my reservation several times and they did not give me a hard time once. Will stay here again for sure.

When my family and myself went down to get breakfast. The service we received from Steve was outstanding. Steve went above and beyond. He is down to earth, very friendly on top of the service. Steve was wonderful to chat with and you can tell he loves his job. Very person friendly. Thank you for having him. The whole staff are very kind people. But thank you to Steve didn't feel like we were bothering him at all.

My family stayed here over Christmas. Despite the COVID restrictions, we enjoyed our stay! Room layout allowed 3 adults to exist comfortably with plenty of elbow room. Breakfast was basic due to COVID but was very good! Friendly staff!

After a house fire, we were in need of a place that allows dogs ( we have a pit bull ) We did not even know this hidden gem existed. Great staff, Comfortable room. Nice landscaping. They have a pool and spa. The fitness room was non accessible due to COVID. It is located right near several upscale shopping plazas, and the Scottsdale airport. Planes are a bit noisy. Did not really bother me. I can't say enough good things about this place. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Check out this Best Western Hotel in Scottsdale AZ. Great breakfast, personalized selections, courteous, skilled staff. Say hello to Steve in the breakfast room he's there to help you. Front desk personnel friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and decor is lovely. BW is steadfast in following COVID-19 cautions. We felt comfortable and safe in the room and throughout the premises.

Emily & all of the other front desk staff were super nice, extremely friendly and very helpful! The team made our stay very enjoyable. Even though I had a problem with my A/C, they took care of it right away and offered me a new room. We can't wait to come back to enjoy the hospitality again.

This is such a well managed property. Friendly, helpful staff. Good amenities. Spacious suites. Lots of dog poop outside on grounds. This is a very well managed property aside from this. I would stay here again. A bit pricey.

BW Thunderbird is on the edge of the Scottsdale airport BUT VERY QUIET. The room was a great size, bathroom tiny. Clean, but had a kind of old air smell. Air conditioning worked really good. The hotel is walkable to many restaurants and a outdoor mall. Breakfast: Steve was our breakfast host. What a wonderful man! He was so kind and his customer service amazing! In the Covid era, Steve would take and fill you order. He even came to check on us while we were eating at the pool to see if we needed anything. Steve was the friendliest person we encountered this vacation!!!!!

Did a staycation for a few days and truly enjoyed it. The grounds were clean. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was awesome, even as grab and go. The breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos hit the spot! We enjoyed the pool even though it was extremely hot (AZ!!).

Thunderbird Suites takes its name (likely) from the mythical bird, but also the USAF aerobatic demonstration team. The motel was probably constructed sometime in the 1960s and has been continuously upgraded and modernized. This was our second stay at this location. The rooms are interesting, in that most of them have a loveseat / fold-out bed and a flat-screen TV near a small desk. Behind the desk is a microwave and stainless sink, under the counter is a small refrigerator/freezer shelf. The bathroom and king sized bed lie behind the entry living room and both have been upgraded. The bathrooms have a granite counter, the sink and shower/tub have been upgraded to modern standards of fixtures. Almost all rooms overlook the swimming pool and Jacuzzi tub, and that is surrounded by very tall palm trees and grass. Towels are provided in a small shelving unit at poolside. The pool only goes to a depth of 5'4" but it is long enough to do short laps if you wish. The king sized bed must have been relatively new, because it was very comfortable and supportive. The lobby is decorated with aircraft photographs as well as "sculptures" constructed to look like aluminum aircraft sections. In keeping with the aeronautical vibe, several of the rooms are named after famous pilots or military leaders. One of the so-named suites is "Hap Arnold," who was chief of the Air Corps during WWII. That particular suite can seat 15. The parking lot is immediately adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport buildings, yet surprisingly the aircraft noise is quite muted and fairly infrequent. Most of the jets appear to be civil aviation rather than jetliners. Many propeller-driven aircraft are present. Given that it was summer in Arizona, the place was not fully-occupied. With three floors, there's plenty of space. Finally, Will Jones, the assistant GM, and Steve who works the limited food service due to social distancing and no table seating, are both nice guys and pleasant to deal with. Both will help you any way that they can. We look forward to visiting the Thunderbird again in the late fall when the weather and hopefully the health conditions are more amenable. I gather that this is also the time when more guests arrive.

As a Best Western member for several years. I was very disopointed with this hotel. The stansards are very concerning, since they list this proerty as a Plus Hotel. Base on the the web site photos were extreamly false. The landscape was not kept up,however, the front hotel entry was nice. Gaps under front door guest room letting roaches in. The room needs updating as bedroom door stripping damaged.We have always made Best Western our go to hotel, but concerned the standard are failing.

people at front desk were very nice, friendly and provided me quickly whatever I asked,. Room was located closed to parking which I requested. I stayed for more than I was planned to do, since I felt so comfortable with people around. Thank you, all.

The rooms was exceptionally clean, the staff magnificent in the circumstances.....we were caught up in the Coronavirus, so our 14 night stay was curtailed!! But this was our 5th visit, and we wouldn't keep coming here if we didn't enjoy it, and the kitchen staff were excellent. Would recommend this place to anyone.

The staff, especially the breakfast staff were great. This hotel is right next to the Scottsdale Airport, and the planes are taking off and landing all day and night. Our room was a suite, with a door separating the two rooms. The rooms are spacious, but old. The rug and drapes look old. The bathroom had a nice, long sink counter, but it is very small. Everything is squeezed in. The sink did not look clean, which made me wonder about the tub and toilet. No hooks on bathroom door. The bedroom area had a nice closet and there are TVs in both rooms. However, the bed was like a rock. Neither my husband nor I had a good nights rest for 6 evenings. The entrance doors to most, not all, rooms are on the outside and there are balconies. Our balcony faced the parking lot. Some of the rooms face the pool area. The breakfasts were good, with a large selection of food. Very close to Kierland Mall, with lots of upscale stores and a variety of restaurants.

Located right across from the Scottsdale Airport, this was a quiet location near restaurants and shopping. The suites are nice sized and the grounds well kept. Steve at the breakfast room was extremely helpful and made sure you had everything you needed. For Scottsdale, the hotel was reasonably priced.

This place has it all and great breakfast. The shopping is nice and everything is within the perfect distance. You will enjoy your stay here. We did. This will be where we return to every year. Thank you.

The hotel was very nice. Clean pool and hot tub. The rooms are big and very nice. THe stand out though was Steve. He worked at the breakfast buffet and he was absolutely amazing. Hed get your coffee or juice, bring you silverware or a plate of bacon and was just incredibly friendly and accomodating. Most buffets Ive ever been to have an employee that cleans up and maybe gets you a drink. Steve would have brought me my food if I asked lol. Everyone thought he was wonderful.

This was our 5th year staying at this property. The staff is very friendly, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome. If you are looking for a hotel in this area, I would highly recommend this one.

The hotel and staff were great. The complimentary breakfast and service was wonderful, there were various toast/pastries, eggs with cheese, waffle/biscuit, home fries, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, fruits, etc. Hotel was clean and quiet. The Silver Wing grill was not busy but the food was inexpensive and good. I did not try the gym or pool. I used the complimentary shuttle to go to a conference at a nearby hotel. It will go within a 5 mile radius. There are some high end shopping malls and dining options within walking distance.

We stayed here for three nights recently and found the stay perfect for our needs. The breakfast was oatmeal, cereal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins and sweet rolls, plus it lasts till 10 am which was great because we managed to sleep in after a late night and still get breakfast. They also have a free shuttle to take you within a five mile radius, which we used one day. No wait, no fuss. We also had a late checkout which was perfect for us.

From the friendliest staff I've ever had to there wonderful breakfast this place can't be beat. Was here for the waste management pga event and this hotel was the right pick. Rooms are big and the shuttle van is always available. Cant remember the guys name serving breakfast but he made sure you had anything you needed. Even offered to go pick up some hp sauce when my friend asked if they had any. Will stay next year foresure.

We liked everything about this hotel. The bed and linens were very comfortable and the room was very clean and in extremely good condition. Great wifi connection and excellent television channel selection. Check in was fast and customer service was excellent. This is the second time we have stayed here and will stay again. This hotel is located across the street from the Scottsdale Airport, and while not using the airport, we enjoyed watching the aircraft come and go. There is a nice restaurant (Volanti) overlooking the runway which is also just across the road and featured upscale dining and drinks. Happy hour is 3-6...

We attended the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale and chose this hotel due to its proximity to West World, provided shuttled service, and price. We were not disappointed. From the shuttle drivers, hotel staff and dining room workers were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds, swimming pool, and rooms were very clean. The free full breakfast was a plus. The only criticism I had was the bathroom sink was badly cracked in need of replacement, and someone had turned the cold water off to the sink.

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. We weren't bothered and they were very helpful. My partner and I used the breakfast option which helped cut down on our cost for food while we were there.

Sooo many good things about this place - location, friendliness of staff, large - clean rooms, good price, plenty of free parking, free breakfast w/ nice room, good clean pool. Check in was quick and we were acknowledged as members and got extra points - this is starting good. Friendly front desk and asked if we needed help w/ dinner plans or anything - this was how we found out about shuttle. Went to room to cleanup and wait for our granddaughter. We stayed for just one night - came out for a concert at blk live (closed now - what??). Our grand-daughter and friend drove up from mesa (closeby) and we went to dinner and hung out and then went to the show. BW provided a shuttle service to the mall closeby where we had dinner and we walked to the concert and then back to the hotel (they would have picked us up if we requested) but it felt good to walk back. Room was large (it is a BW plus - has separate bedroom) - bed was comfortable and we slept pretty well. Even though we were above the pool, it was quiet at night. Breakfast was a pretty good assortment - better than some other BW. What made it stand out though is the breakfast room was a good size and you did not feel like you had to leave quick to let others eat. Additionally, staff working the room were constantly ensuring food was refilled. Would happily return here if we were in the area (open back up blk live!!). Next time - get a room for the kid so she does not have to drive back home. I'm sure there are more expensive places to stay around here but why not put that $$ towards music, dinner, shopping or what you like? You should give this a look.

So, I don't golf or fly a plane, but I love the sun and shopping! This is a reasonably priced hotel with a lovely pool and hot tub area. Breakfast was plentiful and okay to get you through the morning. Why spend an extra two hundred dollars a night on a room when you can spend it on something else like entertainment or a great outfit.

Great Staff, great location. This hotel is located minutes from the Mayo Clinic and minutes from shops and malls. If you are getting treatment at the Mayo Clinic, they will lower the cost of the room and give you the Mayo rate which is about the same as the Government rate.

The property is right across from Scottsdale airport, not too noisy so a plus. Did not expect a lot as I've never stayed at a Best Western Plus but was pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean, the shower's water pressure was perfect and the bed was extremely comfortable. Free breakfast, parking and decent wifi were also a plus. Located in an area of Scottsdale with excellent shopping and great food. Join their loyalty program for the best rates. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The property was very beautiful. Rooms are spacious. Close to shopping and amazing restaurants. Even though it's close to the airport it was quiet. My only issue was my 2 year old found dog poop at 1am when she woke up for potty and drink and I then had to bathe her. It took til 230am til she was back to sleep. Plus we found used q tips in the bathroom. When reported to front desk I got an apology from the front desk clerk but no discount and the manager didn't even make an appearance to apologize.

We arrived to the hotel and when we got to our room discovered that we had booked too small of a space. We called the front desk and Will was very helpful and polite and helped us change to a larger room. He also ran the keys to us on the third floor so we didn't have to come down to the desk. The room was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The pool was heated and sparkling clean as well as the hot tub. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Overall, every one of the staff we encountered were friendly and quick to help.

The Best Western Plus is very close to the Scottsdale Airport, although that is not problematic from a noise standpoint. The staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious and consist of a suite with a “living room” and then the bedroom to the back of the room. There's a nice pool. I did not have a rental car and had hoped to walk to nearby restaurants, however there really was only 1 restaurant nearby. There are others several blocks away however, I didn't feel comfortable walking alone after dark.

Great property close to Westworld, great prices. Rooms were large & adequate. Free shuttle within 5 miles was great. Would certainly stay again. Bar service was great & the complimentary breakfast buffet was adequate. The pool area was very clean.

The Best Western Plus Scottsdale Thunderbird is an excellent property that is located in a secluded location next to the Scottsdale airport. The location is convenient to many attractions in the area. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. The price is very reasonable for the location and the accomodation.

I have stayed here twice. My first experience was absolutely perfect. This stay was the opposite. First of all, a hotel that calls itself Best Western Plus Suites should actually offer all suites. I was not given a suite on this stay. Just a regular "Best Western"-like room. The staff mislead us as to where to park and I wound up carrying a suitcase up 4 flights of stairs (I am "5'2' and 105 lbs). Then when I arrived at the room, there was a distinct lack of lighting, a tiny bathroom and best of all, I shared the fourth floor with a visiting high school soccer team who apparently lacked an efficient chaperone. My night was filled with the delightful sounds of drunk teens screaming obscenities, running up and down the hallway, and, best of all, the obvious sounds of repeated vomiting coming from our next-door neighbors. After paying $150/night for this hotel, I expected a bit more. This was like staying at the worst Red Roof Inn that ever existed. I regret ever recommending this hotel. I'm going to have to contact my friends and tell them I had a temporary brain tumor when I said that this was a "fantastic" hotel.

We held our reunion for our USAF flight school class here. One advantage is the Scottsdale Airport was a World War II pilot training base. There is a great selection of restaurants and sites in the area. The key to the success of our reunion was the helpfulness of the staff. We had a hospitality suite for our use the entire time. We enjoyed the free breakfasts, the bar and the bar food available, including key lime pie. Greg Conn, sales manager, was a big help in setting up the event when we visited the site. The class of 66G, Craig AFB, thanks the Best Western for their help in making our reunion a great one.

Great Hotel, fantastic location, most accommodating management and staff and all the amenities that one would need when visiting the area. Centrally located away from the hustle and bustle of the larger hotels and traffic.

In town for a conference, I had the pleasure of staying at BW. I found the staff to be polite, friendly and helpful. There was a variety of good food served at breakfast. I found the local shuttle service provided by the hotel to be very helpful.

Spent 4 days at this very comfortable hotel. It is by the Scottsdale airport but it was never loud. Loved sitting on the balcony watching the planes at night. Pool was very clean. Breakfast was always good. Ordered one night from the restaurant and the food was very good and very reasonable. It was nice that they will take you somewhere within 5 miles. Very convenient. Well definitely return next time we are in Scottsdale.

This hotel is clean and staff are accommodating. The amenities (pool, free breakfast, on-site restaurant and bar and local shuttle) are rarely seen at this price point. The rooms are big with kitchenette and separate bedroom. Bathrooms are updated, but tight. Nothing fancy here, but decent hotel for a low price. Walking distance to shopping and great restaurant on airstrip across the street.

We were there for business but had a great experience with the staff, great breakfast and shuttles to our conference location. Also great recommendations for place to go and eat. Especially the recommendation to walk accross the street to eat at the airport restaurant.

Our stay was great. The staff was very professional and the hotel was amazingly clean. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. Could not have asked for a better stay. Will definitely be staying there on our next trip to Scottsdale.

Had my doubts because so many hotels in this area are in the four to five hundred dollar range. WHY? The rooms here may not have the decor out of a magazine but this place is clean, the rooms are large (well, maybe not the bathroom) and had all the conveniences you need. We stayed for 4 nights and it cost less than 1 night at one of the upscale joints! The pool is nice and pretty quiet, the hot tub is good. Breakfast, adequate and its complimentary. For the amount of time we're in rooms, we will never pay 5 bills for a room. The bed was comfortable and they provided 5 pillows! You can never get enough pillows. Recommend unless your used of those higher priced places with glamorous ritzy decor and attitude.

Enjoyable stay all the way around. Business travel, client close by so I gave it a try. Guess what?! I'll go back. I'm a lifetime titanium member with Marriott. Nice job Best Western Scottsdale. Clean, modern and spacious.

Spent 4 nights at this location. It was great! My friends & I were very happy here! Walking distance to shopping & restaurants for us. The pool was nice & the morning breakfast was good! We would stay here again!

The toaster was the ONLY thing I was unhappy with, and when mentioning it to (the restaurant's) Jackie, ..she aptly named it "The Bi-Polar Toaster" and if that's my ONLY complaint, then surely this must be a GREAT place to stay for business, and Happy Times that ONLY great employees can provide during my trip to Arizona . I ONLY regret that Best Western's internal survey didn't provide enough space for me to pay special homage to Chris Rodriguez for his exemplary work to keep this place running like a well oiled machine, Ren who was great with the special requests at the WONDERFUL breakfast restaurant, Melissa, Lori, Earl , and the housekeeping staff, ( I know I'm leaving someone out ) - but as if all of this wasn't enough, the room rates were great, and GM Big Ben, is to the one that brought this Team Together !!! He Jackie, .. if my poem, (The Bipolar Taster) wins you get half the money !!!

This is one of the cleanest hotel rooms that we have stayed in! Bed's were very comfortable. Hotel location is close to excellent restaurants. Breakfast is a full service breakfast.....not just cereal and toast! Staff very accommodating. We will be returning next month for a longer stay!

Cannot say enough good things about my stay at this hotel for 4 nights. My company booked the room and everything was so smooth from check in to check out. The staff is beyond friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and your stay is comfortable. The free shuttle was a huge bonus and that takes you within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. Lots of food and shopping within 0.5 mile from the hotel. I would stay here again and would recommend.

We really usually enjoy our expreience(s) at the Best Western Chain. This one in particular was quite enjoyable. From the Front Desk to the Restaurant, all the employess seemed to be very content. The also was a good value. We WILL return!

Coming back time after time and reconnecting with a lot of the same employees as if they were part of an extended family. This time of year is a low season so the service is generally exceptional. Easy check in and out, convenient shuttle service, good breakfast and a wind it down lounge. A good clean pool, all suite rooms with some available balconies make this a second home.

It was my wife's Birthday and we had decided to stay in a part of Scottsdale AZ that we had not had time to experience (Kierland). This hotel is ideally located. The hotel also offers shuttle to with a 5 mile radius of the hotel, which we took advantage of. Shops and restaurants galore! Great friendly staff, excellent breakfast, very comfortable room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The hotel rooms have exterior entrance doors. Doesn't look like anything has been updated and it's at the entrance to Scottsdale Airport. That said, the room was spacious with separation between the bedroom and the living room. It's quiet at night. TV is analog but adequate. Nice views of the foothills. Clean courtyard pool. Friendly staff. Free daily paper. And two mornings in a row a very good and satisfying breakfast. Lots of choices, clean, hot, plentiful, filling. This was a two night business trip. It's about a half hour from Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Within walking distance is an upscale town square. Starbucks, Sephora, upscale stores, expensive cars and very nice surroundings. Safe and clean. It's dated but the bathrooms have been redone and water pressure and AC are very good.

I have stayed her the last three years during Baseball Spring Training. While not exactly close to Old Town, it is conveniently located close enough to freeway access to multiple game sights. The rooms are clean, neat and moderately priced.

This hotel had everything I needed. As the name says, it's suites, so you have a separate living room area with a fridge and microwave and TV, then a bedroom, also with a TV. That suited me really well. Breakfast wasn't bad for a budget hotel breakfast. Best thing was the free shuttle to anywhere within 5 miles. I was there for a conference and thought I'd spend a fortune on uber/lyfting, but I didn't have to, as the shuttle took me to the venue promptly every day and picked me up again. I also found the staff to be helpful and friendly. And of course, good price.

This hotel was nice and quiet behind all the traffic of Scottsdale road. But it was in the area of 5 minutes to Scottsdale quarter (best shopping and restaurants) which they offer a shuttle to. The breakfast which is included was a nice buffet where the options were different each morning. They even offered some vegan choices (like almond milk with cereal and potatoes). The pool is a small pool in the middle of the hotel. The AC was alright, I stayed in the king suite which made the flow of air a little slow. I think in a smaller room, the AC would be nice and cold.

Excellent, clean, fell like a home away from home experience. Have been going there for last 3 years, and made friends with most of the staff. They do not have a big turn over in staff because people like working their, and stay.

we stay in the hotel for 5 days with my husband for visiting lung institute. and i forgot my swimwear in the bathroom. when i call hotel back they told me they did not find it. of course you are welcome to use such a personal belongings and i am sorry for left tips.

The rooms were old and in need of refurbishments, maid service was lacking and noise from the airport to much. There was a coffee maker in the room which I used but the coffee was not reloaded. The maids never vacuumed the rooms as there were debris from walking in from the outside that were there the entire stay

This hotel was convenient to shopping and restaurants but also offered a lounge and grill for convenience. We used the lounge our first night for happy hour and dinner since we were exhausted from our travel. Pool area landscaping was very nice.

Stayed here because of reasonable rates and great location within walking of Kierland Commons where there are some great restaurants. The facility is old and tired but clean, rooms are large suite style, and the staff is great. However, the convertible couch was so old that there was no support on one side rendering it useless. Also, we booked a balcony room only to find that the balcony had no furniture on it. Not sure what the point is to having a balcony that you can't use.

Stayed two nights and found it to be better than expected. Rooms are clean and spacious with a separate door to a sitting area, fridge and microwave. Breakfast was good with decent options. The gym is the only thing left to be desired. No free weights. Just 3 cardio machines and a universal apparatus with limited choices. Not great for those wanting to work all muscle groups.

The sheets in the room obviously hadn't been changed when the last guest left. There were brown marks all over them. I reported it to the front desk. When I reported it to the front desk they promised they would change the sheets. When I got back to my room after work, they still hadn't changed them. The manager was great once I escalated to him. I ended up changing rooms because I was disgusted with the thought of what was on those sheets.

Easter weekend In Scottsdale Hotel remodeled room has separated living and bedroom area. Hotel was clean, bed was very comfortable, towels large and fluffy. Breakfast had many selections with hot bar and many varieties of items. Patio was very nice to sit outside

We stayed in this Hotel for the second time while in Scottsdale. It is located near the Kierland shopping Centre, and Kierland Quarters which has great restaurants and great shopping. Great location with good access to highways. It is located next to the Scottsdale airport, but don't get fooled, because you can't really hear the planes. Friends of ours thought it would not be a good location because of the close proximity, but you would never know you were so close to this small airport. Definitely not a deturrant. The breakfast is really great and included with your stay. Fresh eggs, potatoes and other items in the buffet. Cereal, Oatmeal, home baked pies or muffins, etc.... The room we stayed was a super comfortable suite with a very large bathroom with his and her sinks, a tub and a shower. My son was with us so it was really convenient with the large bathroom. This room is an upgrade from their regular rooms but only cost us a few extra dollars. Worth to look into. The pool area is very simple, but we were out all day and only used it once to relax after a full day of sight seeing. If you're looking for a resort style pool, this is not the place to find it. We would definitively visit again since the value was unbeatable.

We ckd into the hotel and Greg let us view 2 rooms. He was super nice. When we went into our suite, I went over to the kit sink and turned the water on and the bar type faucet shot straight up in the air towards my face and I guarded my face with my hands. Water was shooting up in the air to the cabinets, covering the micro mirrors floor counters and me! I reached over and turned the water off. The unconnected faucet with so much force bruised my right hand and blew up a vein which eventually popped.Called the desk and awesome Santos? came and attached the faucet and maid cleaned up the water. He told the maid that all house cleaners ahould be very careful when cleaning to not rub the nut hard around the base of the sinksas the bolt could loosen. I did not go in to pool or hot tub due to the open cut and went to the front desk 2 times asking for Greg..the lady, lanna did not know where he was. they gave me bandaids. Iam not sure he even was aware of what happened as I never heard from him. That was disappointing (: Thank god it wasn't my face...just a very bruised upper hand, that the vein blew up and still with a scab today 4-1-19, I have pics . Other than that, we loved the hotel and the location!! 5 days no going in pool or hot tub was sad for the money we paid for our room. Will we come back? Yes.

We had some business in Scottsdale and wanted to stay close to the local domestic airport. This hotel is just across the street from that airport. It has good location just a few blocks from Scottsdale Road where strip malls, department stores and restaurants are located and it is just minutes from Highway 101. Altough the location was great, the hotel itself is a bit dated. While the rooms were clean, we found residual smoke smell in the rooms. It wasn't that bad but unfortunately it was noticeable. What made up for the rooms was the service. The staff at the front desk were well trained and quite accomodating and the service at breakfast was also very good. Kudos to the staff.

This is the second time I have visited this hotel and I probably will look elsewhere next time. I chose this hotel because of the good reviews it had received and on the fact that it offered free breakfast. When you are going to stay at the hotel a majority of the day it is important that you be comfortable at the hotel. On the first morning a member of our party found a long hair in their scrambled eggs! That was it for the free breakfast - we went out every morning for the rest of our trip. At least there are plenty of food options near by. If I just needed a bed and was planning to spend no time in the room it would be fine. The area is great and plenty of things are close by BUT there are also plenty of other options.

The rooms are beautiful and spacious. Clean and inviting. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. The gym has nice equipment and the pool views are stunning. The breakfast has many options to choose from and most importantly they have a gracious pet policy so we could have our puppy with us on our trip. Lana the front desk representative got us checked in right away with a professional and friendly atmosphere.

I am a Best Western Gold Member so I always check their rates first--but the Thunderbird had by far the best Mayo Clinic Visit rate for the area, and quality of the hotel!! Will be staying again in April for a week so will probably have more to review then. The hotel/rooms are very clean, and the staff is wonderful!!

Hotel was neat and clean, breakfast was quite good. Staff was friendly and accommodating. .Pool and Hot Tub very nice. Rooms are large and well kept however bathroom is very small so new bathrooms and beds would boost the experience to a 4. More equipment in the fitness center would also be nice. Had to wait for machines several times.

We planned a group winter retreat/meeting and our group stayed 3 nights with two days of meetings. The facility and the staff were amazing. Greg who helped us set up the group reservations and meeting room went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel! Staff and facility are excellent!

We always stay here coming into Scottsdale for our winter vacation. The staff is excellent: Lori (bar), Steve (breakfast), Santos and Chris (shuttle/maintenance). Ben (gm) treats us very well. This is a very friendly property.

Needed a hotel near northern Scottsdale and the Best Western Plus fit the order. The hotel is located right next to the Scottsdale Airport. Being this physically close to the airport was not an issue. The hotel is clean, well run, nice size rooms (we reserved a studio), offer a free shuttle service within 5-miles of the hotel for travel, heated pool, and delicious breakfast. I would stay there again in the future.

My husband and I had never stayed in a Scottsdale hotel. Since we are BW members we randomly chose the Thunderbird suites. It was an OMG when I saw we were right across the street from a private airport. NOT AN ISSUE. We heard two planes during the day, none at night and I had one of the best night of rest that I have had in a long time. What really makes this BW special is the staff. Check in was fun, the breakfast staff is amazing and the Silverwing Cafe is a blast. (Could be why I had such a good nights sleep)

The hotel staff were exceptional, on every shift. The elevator was swift, but then you exit to the old-fashioned outdoor open hallways to get to your room. The door seemed a bit rickety and didn't fully fit the door jamb, as there was a big gap underneath. The room was a good size with lounge area in front, bedroom in the back; unfortunately, it had that old, stale smell. The bed was very comfortable and had all non-feather pillows--great for allergy sufferers! Each nightstand had a lamp with one power outlet--very helpful for charging devices at beside--though, one side was broken. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo. There was mold around the seams, unfortunately, and the cleaning crew had left someone's toiletry seal wrapper on the tub ledge--apparently not much effort was put into fully cleaning the tub. The shower water pressure was light, but the hot water stayed hot. The bathroom fan was LOUD and did nothing at all to eliminate steam, rendering it purely noise pollution. Unfortunately, the fan was wired into the light switch so there was no turning it off--the noisy, useless fan grates away whenever you need the light on. There was a multi-speed hairdryer on the counter. The toilet paper was, unfortunately, rough; hotels should care enough for their guests to provide the status stuff. Parking is free in the hotel's large lot. The free WiFi worked well--thank you! I might return if I'm ever in the area again and if the price is right.

Two night stay. Great location. Great breakfast. Nice sized rooms. Our only problem was very slow WiFi. Had trouble downloading standard online newspapers and couldn't stream anything. They have a nice.free shuttle service that we did not use. The noise of the private jets taking off from the adjacent airport can wake you up early in the morning.

We were very pleased with this place. The room was large, attractive, and very comfortable for a very affordable price. The breakfast was better than most free breakfasts we have had at other lodging.

What a surprise! Chose this Best Western because of it's proximity to Barrett Jackson just to find out that they would shuttle us anywhere within a five mile radius. Out for dinner, great to not have to worry about having a drink or two. Barrett Jackson was also part of their service area. Very quick pick ups when we called for a ride home! We had three different shuttle drivers and they were all wonderful, giving lots of information about the area around us.The breakfast buffet was hot with a great selection. Lots of fresh fruit and fresh baked goods. Steve greeted us when we arrived, told us what they were offering and checked in with us a few times to see if we needed a coffee refill or anything else. Awesome service in a “self serve” free buffet. Well done!

The staff at this hotel are remarkable -- helpful, personal, energetic about their work, and more. I travel 100+ nights on the road each year and just discovered this location. The kitchen staff care and show it. They love to make good food -- the complimentary breakfast buffet is the best around, and they will custom make items if you have dietary restrictions. Steve is one of the wonders of this staff - he makes the dining experience personal and high quality. The beds are very comfortable - much better than hotels at twice the price. Room amenities are very basic; besides a microwave and single serve coffee/tea maker, there are no supplies for the little microwave/kitchenette area, so bring your own. The bar staff also are remarkably nice, helpful, and hardworking. Someone really knows how to hire and train staff at this property - enjoy it!

From the front desk, food services, cleaning services, etc., these were some of the kindest and friendliest human beings I have encountered in a hotel. They were friendly and kept a central focus of ensuring our needs were met-and they did it with a smile!

The room was clean and large and they had a crib set up for our toddler which was clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice and well maintained, staff were friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was excellent! Perfect location, can easily walk to restaurants and shopping. It's not a new hotel but it's well maintained and is excellent value!

I stayed here for a few nights for a conference. For business I would stay again. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a "resort" or vacation experience. In my opinion the hotel is dated and could use a freshening up from a property standpoint. That said, the staff was AWESOME. They had me laughing at check in and were soooo helpful, and again fun at check out. I was catching a red eye and technically not sleeping there for the second night and they gave me a discounted rate. Every associate I dealt with was friendly and the customer service experience was excellent. With the staff they have, if an investment were made to the property this could be a great location!!

This hotel was great. The rooms are huge and have a little kitchen which was great, we bought groceries for our lunches and snacks and were able to keep it all cold. The rooms were clean and nice and the breakfast was great. We used the hot tub once and really enjoyed that, the whole courtyard in the middle of the hotel is gorgeous. We used the shuttle service and would highly recommend that, our driver was so friendly and knowledgeable that we would go back just for his “guided tour” on the way to our destination! The only complaint we had was the sofa bed was wrecked in our room so we moved twice, but they are replacing those, and we just laughed about the adventure of moving, not a big deal. I will definitely stay here again!

Do not stay here! The place is a dump!!! Front desk people are unorganized and the room didn't look like it was clean, Carpet was dirty, patio door falling off and the sheets and blankets were itchy. UGH!

I spent several days in Scottsdale and I discovered a fantastic hotel in northern Scottsdale - near the Scottsdale airport. That is NOT the PHX airport in Phoenix - it is a small airport for private planes off of Scottsdale Road - near the Kierland Commons shopping center. The hotel traces its history back to the days of training WW II pilots at the small airport. The hotel was built to accommodate pilots and airport workers. The hotel has 4 levels of rooms - a kind of a square with a swimming pool in the center. My room had a balcony that looked out onto the mountains to the east of Scottsdale. My room was a suite - a sitting area with a couch, chairs and a desk. There was a large TV, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The bedroom had a second TV and a comfortable bed. The breakfast area served good food and there was a bar that opened in the afternoon and had some free chips and dips. The hotel did not have a restaurant, but the hotel van will take you to any of the great restaurants nearby at the Kierland area - and come to pick you up. I loved the abundant WWII airplane artwork, and the tables made from parts of old planes - aluminum and rivets! The bar has a seating area formed by an entire huge radial engine - with a big glass top as a table surface. The staff was organized, friendly and helpful. I will return to this hotel.

The staff and managers are great. Nice rooms and very quiet. They have a great facility and go above and beyond for their guests. The internet. Breakfast bar and the little restaurant are all great extras for the guest and adds to the overall stay

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights with our dog and were very comfortable. They have plenty of grass to walk dogs and they have a waste station with trash bags for dogs, which was very much appreciated. The free breakfast was very good, with hot options like french toast or waffles and healthy options like fruit and yogurt. There were tons of restaurants close by and hiking nearby at McDowell Sonoran Preserve. My husband and will definitely stay at this hotel for our future visits to Scottsdale.

We recently returned from a 6-night stay at the Best Western Plus Scottsdale Thunderbird Suites. Our biggest impression was the friendliness of the staff. This is definitely nicer than any similar hotel that we've visited. We had a king suite on the 4th floor - a corner room with a balcony (room 431). The room was spacious and clean - and there were two TVs, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. The bathroom was small - but had a large counter area. The king bed was pretty comfortable, but the mattress was firmer than we are used to! It was great having a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. The pool area was very nice - with some tall, large palm trees and nicely landscaped. The weather was wonderful (highs in the 80s and sunny) - so we used the pool three of the mornings during our visit. The pool and hot tub are kept very clean. The only negative was the pool wasn't heated as much as we'd have liked. If it had been warmer, we'd have been in the pool itself longer. One of the highlights of this hotel is the free breakfasts. The buffet was kept clean and items filled. They had a nice variety of hot and cool items. Steve works in this area - and he was incredibly friendly and attentive. He was constantly refilling coffee and other drinks for everyone - and even appeared to handle some special requests from the kitchen. We've stayed at many hotels with free breakfast buffets - but have NEVER had someone waiting on us like Steve did! He was constantly either checking on customers' needs or checking on the buffet itself. They are lucky to have him as an employee! We also visited the lounge a couple evenings - and Laurie (not sure on spelling!) was very friendly and attentive, as well. Our corner room faced the airport. We had requested this room after reading about it in another review. We had a nice view of the airport (it was interesting watching the planes take off and land) as well as the mountains in the distance. Planes do start taking off early (around 6am most days). As our room and the 3 right below ours are closest to the airport - you definitely can hear them taking off and landing - particularly the jets. It didn't bother us, however. If you don't want to hear them - just ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel.

This hotel was very clean and staff very pleasant. Kitchen staff went over and above and the breakfast was fantastic every day! Unfortunately I did have a shopping bag of a couple of items I purchased taken from my suitcase and this was very disappointing as other than that our stay at this hotel was great. The bag was in my suitcase under some of my clothing it contained a couple of gifts for my daughter - I did not notice the bag missing until I arrived home and had nothing to give to my daughter. It's unfortunate that this had to happen. The room had some issues with air conditioning not working great, bath tub drain very slow to drain and wifi kept logging us out. Pool area was great.

My husband and I were very impressed with the friendly people and nice and clean environment. We especially enjoyed the breakfast of “real” fresh food. Steve made sure we were well taken care of and felt at home. We will stay here from now on when we come to Scottsdale.

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough awesome things about Lori in the Silver Wings Grill. Hands down...very enjoyable night chatting with her and sipping down the great drinks.

Excellent place to stay....all of the staff we encountered were very helpful, efficient and friendly.....lounge/bar associate was excellent.....front desk associates did a great job......room was neat and clean.....

Quiet place was great bed. Check in and out was very quick. Just wish the has chocolate chip cookies at the all day coffee bar as other BW's do. Overall experience was good and worth the money. Would recommend.

Friendly, helpful and very accommodating. There is a small airport next to the hotel however the planes stop coming and going at night and there was no interruption of sleep. Bed was a little too hard for my liking but the room was very nice and clean. I would stay here again.

I an't say enough about this Hotel. It was perfect!!! Everything about the hotel was outstanding!! The staff was fantastic, the room was a King Room and it was the best we ever had. It met our needs perfectly. We stayed there 5 days and enjoyed everyday there. It was private and our privacy was respected by the staff. I can't say enough about the Complimentary Breakfast!!!! The person that ran the breakfast was the best I ever saw. We have done a lot of traveling in the last 8 years, from Hawaii,twice, to the Smokies every year for the last 8 years, Disney World, Kansas to Kentucky. This year all along the southwest and in all our travels we have never has a complimentary breakfast as good as this one!!! The food was fantastic with so much to choose from and the guy that ran it was the nicest and most genuine guy we have ran across in any hotel.. Friendliness and great food and a great atmosphere means everything to us!!! Great job Best Western!!!!

Stayed here to visit friends. Nice, clean rooms. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I've been to! Nice variety of food. Pool very nice too. Only downside was that we were on the backside of hotel and we could faintly hear the music from nightclub down the street. Other than that, it was a very nice, clean hotel.

In area for 2 nights, booked a 1 bedroom king suite. Room very clean, stocked with good towels and amenities. Served above average breakfast. Staff very friendly. All rooms seem to face the center swimming pool. I would recommend.

Large living area with Kitchener and microwave. Pleasantly surprised to have 2 toilets. They bedroom was spacious with a queen sized bed and bathroom had walk in shower which had room for 2! As we were on the ground floor we had our own little courtyard which had a table and 4 chairs. Happy hour which was 2 was excellent and you were given 2 free cocktails or 2 beers plus a buffet of snacks ranging from pretzels and cheeselets to various vegetables and dips. The barman Elmer deserves a special mention as he was an excellent host,very friendly and hard working.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean this hotel was this past weekend. Also I have to add the breakfast was wonderful!! All kinds of stuff not your typical continental bf .... def would recommend for business or family stay. Very kid friendly. Our room had a queen bed and a pull out queen bed. ??

Stayed here for 3 weeks on a recent business trip. The rooms are very large, 2 good sized areas, including kitchenette with fridge, microwave & sink. The only thing on the small side is the bathroom. Rooms well maintained & cleaned every day to a good standard. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Food at breakfast is excellent & plentiful. Lori's bar has a great selection of beer & the food there is also splendid.

I checked in at 10 pm on a Sunday night . The front desk male was preoccupied . After checking in , I was told to go around the back to park .I I asked to use the rest room and was given a card key to go outside , the key did not work so I returned . After parking and taking my luggage to the second floor , the room card key did not work . I brought my suitcase with me and there was no one at the front desk . It was now about 11 pm . There was another guest a,so at the front desk and he said he had been calling and no one answered. The front door was open and there was no one there . When the desk clerk came back I got another key card . The room was very noisy with a lot of people partying in the hallway . There are numerous clubs across the street and it is loud .The hotel has outside stairs from the street and there is no security watching who is on site . I called the front desk but nothing changed . I did not sleep and then construction in the back started at 6 am . I was supposed to stay for two nights but told them I was leaving and they never assisted me . By the way I am a senior . I went and stayed at the BW at the airport and it was much quieter .

If it were not for one front desk staff's attitude and the sloppy housekeeping, we would have given this hotel 4 stars. It's in a great location with a 5 minute walk to shopping and restaurants. Story follows.... We were there for 4 days. June 2 Check-in great, staff very friendly June 3 Room not cleaned June 4 Room not cleaned til mid afternoon. June 5 When a request was made at the front desk & could not be accommodated, the on-duty staff said it was not his problem. This attitude was carried over to our friends checking in, & when there was a mixup with the shuttle that night. “It's not my problem”. Same person on duty each time. Had drinks in the bar & bar tender very friendly & accommodating. June 6 Continental breakfast. Food was good, service was excellent, very friendly staff in the restaurant.

This hotel is clean and well maintained. Everyone was super kind and friendly. As soon as we sat down at the pool, the pool technician came by and handed us a towel. We used the swimming pool and Jacuzzi each day. There is a good selection of snacks that can be purchased 24/7. The rooms were large. The breakfast was remarkable, fresh and plentiful. The scrambled eggs were not plain, and contained bell peppers, you had a two choices of sausage, potatoes, and a lot more.

The staff do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. However they cannot photoshop the design of the rooms, which appear to be from a scene of the movie, Pyscho. Forget the killer with the knife. The sound coming out of the AC unit situated right by the door of each room is enough to keep you up all night. You will therefore be faced with two options: 1) switch off the AC but feel the heat, or 2) put some earplugs in. I chose 1) which worked until I woke up from the heat...... Or was it the wannabe racers that frequently rev past the hotel road during the night. If you want a cheap hotel for a very short business stay then maybe this is ok but for anything else, I'd stay somewhere else. BTW I checked into a different hotel after 2 nights slumming it at the Best Western.

Location was great although rooms need some updating . Bartender in the Silver Wwings Lounge was awesome , gave us very good dinner suggestions due to the chef at the hotel was out sick for 2 days. Hotel has a shuttle that will take you to shopping and restaurants within 5 mile radius .

We stayed at this hotel because we were in town for medical reasons. The room was fine; breakfast was also quite good. The staff were TERRIFIC; they went out of their way to help us while we stayed there and we shall definitely stay there again.

We used the express check in via our cell and were pleasantly surprised. The gentleman at the front desk ws ready for us, had an amenity ready and also offered an upgrade if desired. We did not take the upgrade as we were going to be only there to fly out on an early departure. Had we been staying longer, we would have happily accepted the upgrade. The hotel offered a lounge which was still open when we arrived, but the kitchen was closing - not a problem. the young man at the desk gave several suggestions and great directions to reach a restaurant. The accommodations were very clean and space was ample for relaxing and working. I would recommend this BestWestern to travellers to the Scottsdale area.

I have to say, when my wife and I booked this Best Western we didn't have high expectations. However, the staff and the service here has exceeded our expectations on many occasions. Steve in the breakfast lounge provided wonderful service, gave excellent recommendations for hiking in the area, and really went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Everyone who works here seems to really enjoy their positions and have positive attitudes and are very friendly. The rooms are large and clean. We come to Scottsdale often and will definitely be staying here again because the staff made it such an enjoyable visit (especially Steve!!)

We decided to go to Phoenix and take in a mlb game. This inn was a great choice, though on the opposite side of town, fairly easy road trip to the park. But about the inn: Located directly next to Scottsdale airport in a industrial part of town at first seemed weird. However there are many restaurants, music and shopping within 2 blocks away at Scottsdale square, an easy 5 min walk. Good looking building, rooms, and pool, a small in-house bar and grill, all very nice. What makes this place exceptional is the staff, friendly, down to earth, helpful, from the front desk, to the most helpful breakfast attendent I'd ever met (Steve). The selection breakfast food was very good, and he would be very helpful without hovering, just above and beyond the norm. I fully recommend this place to travelers.

Spent Easter weekend in Scottsdale, John and Will made sure we were well taken care of, this hotel is our hotel of choice when we in the Phoenix Scottsdale area. We are BW rewards members and stay at Best Westerns all over the country, this property is one of the best!! The hotel is a shining example of Customer service and has all the amenities a traveler could ask for, from the food and shopping in the area to the wonderful pool and beverages in their onsite bar. We will be sure to return!!

Reasonably priced for the area, nice and comfortable, good breakfast buffet included with hotel. Newer and clean! LOVE the suite! Pool was a bit cold, and could use the pool heater to be turned on for a bit!!!

Hotel has most amenities. Best of all, a great breakfast. Hot foods, fruits, and pastries. Pool and spa terrific also. No DVD players in room. Staff very friendly. Very close to Scottsdale airport (walking distance).

This is a fantastic Best Western! The rooms are spotless and the beds are really comfortable. The breakfast staff is the best we have seen on all our travels!! Ren, Steve, and Jackie could and should write a book on customer service!!!!!!

This is a very nice Best Western, not the typical motel style. It is close to the Scottsdale airport. A GPS is required to find it. Good parking, quiet at night, quiet AC, Nice staff, good service. The room was spacy, but the furniture and carpeting were worn. Otherwise clean. For people used to having a good breakfast this breakfast was sub-standard. Excellent wifi.

This hotel needs to be updated and we were also not informed that it is directly next to a small airport (jets) and an industrial area! Unfortunately our room backed on to a noisy restaurant or bar and there was loud music until about midnight.The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable but from the decoration and furnishings it appeared to be run down and in need of a total makeover. The best part was the breakfast, which was excellent. I am glad that we only stayed for one night here. I have a problem with Best Western calling some of their hotels "Plus". I have only stayed at one of these "Plus" hotels that genuinely deserved this label and that was in Oregon.

Nice location, close to major highways & roads. The Breakfast was always amazing and well done. The breakfast staff was even better. Very Helpful! Best value in Scottsdale in my opinion, in a super safe location.

I had a room here for three nights, Tuesday-Friday. The room was very clean. Had a king-size bed and separate "living room" area, Room 401. Although I had requested a quiet room, this was both near the elevator (not in itself noisy, but other guests who got out of it were noisy) and near the rooftop air ducts/heating-cooling system. But the worst noise is the large construction site right across the way-- trucks start arriving around 3:30am, complete with loud back-up beeps and idling engines. Sadly, the noise is loud enough to wake me up despite using earplugs. I know this isn't the hotel's fault, but it is still a factor for people who need a full night's sleep before work. Breakfast was decent, the women working in the breakfast area were very nice. Parking is adequate and there's a large mall nearby for restuarants. Good, safe location. Sadly, will not stay there again until the construction is complete.

This hotel was not what we expected based on the online promotions which oversold it. It is very dated and the location is directly bordering on a large private airport. The staff was excellent. The included breakfasts were palatable. The room was very dark and the balcony was too small to be of much use.

Rooms were clean and lobby was very inviting. Breakfast was great and staff was extremely pleasant. Steve at breakfast and Lori the bartender in the lounge were obviously happy to be at their jobs and went out if their way to be sure we had a pleasant experience while at the hotel.

What made this hotel good for us was the location and flexibility of the room layout. Our room had two rooms - one that had two double beds and bathroom and one room had a pull out sleeper sofa, desk and kitchenette. There were 5 of us so the lay out was good. This is a basic hotel, but it suited our needs. It was quite, which is always important. The bathroom amenities were ok - the soaps were fine but the shampoo/conditioner were junk, and very skimpy in supply. The breakfast was generous and varied each day. They had a hot buffet with the usual oatmeal, sausage, bacon, some type of egg and some type of waffle/pancake. Yogurt, fruits, cereals, muffins, toast, bagels were all available as well. The eating area was clean and spacious. The pool was nice, mostly in the sun and clean. The hot tub, on the other hand, had a strong yellow hue to it and did not look clean or inviting. The location is great. We could walk to The Quarter and Kierland Commons and all of the shops and restaurants. We spent little time in the room and most of our time out and about, so it was just what we needed. The hotel is a good value and good basic format.

I wanted to give this hotel a better review but by the time we left I was just so over this place. We traveled to Scottsdale for spring training. From the moment we checked in until we left it was constant disappointment. 1st of all -Terrible location. Sits almost right on top of the airport and not close to parks. Many closer hotels to each ball park, with better pricing. The room was out dated and very basic. At check in the gentleman was very short with me and said he would take care of my charges for the room in an hour or so and just gave me the keys. I should have known I would be charged incorrectly. The bathrooms were newer but very small. We found silverfish bugs two different days in our room. The breakfast was good and the staff in the breakfast lounge were very pleasant. We had the do not disturb on the doo and it was taken off and housekeeping entering while we were not in the room. We had all new towels. The second day we had requested someone-a manager- call us about behind OVERCHARGED by $200 and were assured they would. This was NOT a pending charge or the deposit for the room. No one ever called. Upon check out the lady at the front desk was very rude, and unapologetic. Again assuring someone would call us. When we explained we found bugs in the room plus we were supposed to be contacted about the overcharge she asked us to “ loose the edge and stop being snotty” I'm sure she would had an attitude if someone took $200 from her and never said sorry. The overall look of the hotel was more of a motel I have had very bad experiences with best westerns lately and do not plan to stay again.

We stayed here for Spring Training and the suites were perfect for our family of 5. The rooms were so clean and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is set up nicely, with private balconies and a lovely pool & hot tub set in the middle of a very well maintained garden/lawn area. The hot breakfast buffet was delicious and the hotel bar was a very nice amenity...allowing you to enjoy your happy hour pool-side. The location was so convenient, with plenty of shopping and restaurant options right there. We will definitely stay here again!

The staff were again very helpful and friendly. Close to the places we needed go and the fact they take you in their van within 5 miles is wonderful so we Uber from airport and back. Breakfast is very filling and tasty. We will return again

Can't say enough good things about the Best Western Plus Scottsdale. Checking in was a breeze. Our room was big and spacious. Not easy finding accommodations for three adults but we had two queens and a pull-out coach in a separate room. Worked out perfectly. Breakfast was great. It's free and lots of choices, both hot and cold. Steve is the best! I was not sure about the location when booking, but loved it when we got there. Perfect location for us. Some people may not like being near a small airport but I loved watching the private planes and helicopters taking off in the morning. Never heard them at night. I also left a bag behind by mistake, called the hotel a couple hours later when we realized it, and it had been turned in by someone on staff. Very honest people. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and I would certainly stay there again.

My husband and I went to Scottsdale for a quick trip out of town. He picked the Hotel and I met him there. Parking was easy! Location was great! Room was huge and clean. Yet from the moment I got into the room I knew the stay would be a nightmare! There is night club about a block away with an outdoor music venue. They were playing music till all hours of the night on Friday and Saturday. When the band wasn't playing they played 80's Hair rock through the loud speakers. Our room windows were closed and it sounded as if the music was right outside our window. At 8:15am on Saturday morning the housekeepers knocked once on our door then barged into the room before we even had a chance to realize what was going on. My husband complained to the front desk staff that morning. In the evening after we returned to the hotel he asked the staff member at the front desk to leave a note to housekeeping to not clean our room so early. We wanted to enjoy the hot tub that evening, but there were two kids playing in it unattended. So we figured we would just relax in the room, which was very difficult due to the night club noise! After having a difficult time falling asleep due to the music from the club down the street, housekeeping waited until 9am on Sunday morning to knock on our door to clean the room. Again we complained. On Monday morning they barged in again at 8:15am. My husband complained to the front desk staff AGAIN!! The Sales Manager was at the desk and refunded us one night stay. For going on a weekend trip, we got very little sleep and relaxation. It was a huge disappointment and I expect more from a Best Western in a posh neighborhood like Scottsdale.

My friends and I stayed here while visiting Scottsdale for the Arabian Horse Show. We weren't expecting much - just a place to sleep and shower. I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised we were during our stay! The room itself is a bit dated and could use a few more outlets, but that was more than made up for by the incredible staff. Each and every person that we encountered was friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay the best it could be. Two of us were early risers, so we would tiptoe down to the lobby to avoid waking our sleeping friend. We found the lobby's communal table (with ample outlets and lighting) to be perfect for us. The front desk and breakfast room staff always checked to see if we needed anything - our new best friend Steve would let us know when he had fresh coffee and water. And speaking of breakfast room - wow! It is seriously one of the best breakfast buffets I have every enjoyed anywhere - and this was complimentary! Everyone who makes it possible should be commended - and their pride and care in making it a great experience for the guests absolutely shines through. And we cannot forgot about Lori in the bar - we very much enjoyed spending some time with her in the evenings. We also made use of the great complimentary shuttle service to take us to the show in the mornings - what a fabulous perk. The room was also very quiet, given the proximity to the Scottsdale airport.

This does not feel like a BW Plus. The rooms are very dated and the beds are of poor quality. They advertise a full fitness facility, but it has outdated machines and no free weights. There is no glasses, just plastic cups. For what they charge at this location, it is a complete bust.

Nice clean rooms. Save your appetite for the breakfast buffet, You will want to pig out big time. From oatmeal, cereal, pastries, French toast, eggs, fruit, yogurt. It's a hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a new night club down the street and if you have a room on the far side, you can hear the bump, bump, bump bass sounds....until you turn your AC on. Oh, and pool is nice too.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff went out of their way to make sure you had what u needed. The free shuttle in the area was well worth the stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We spent 11 nights here to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We were welcomed by John who gave us a room on the fourth floor with a great view of the mountains. Very clean spacious rooms. We enjoyed the daily breakfast, staff efficient and very friendly especially Steve who went above and beyond to make everyone happy. Had several meals in Silverwings Lounge and enjoyed Lori's company. Impossible to mention all staff by name but have never encountered a more hardworking staff in a hotel. Everyone seemed happy to be at work. Great location, shuttle convenient when we didn't want to drive. Lovely pool area. Highly recommend.

Room was very nice, looks like it is was recently remodeled. Electrical outlet availability was a problem in the room we had (315). The nightstand had a lamp which had two outlets, one of them being used by the clock radio. The desk had no outlets available to plug in my lap top, my husband wanted to use his as well. I would have had to unplug the floor lamp or TV in order to have an outlet. There was an outlet in the bathroom. Was a little bit of a problem with both of us wanted to charge our phones. The bed was very comfortable. I travel with my own pillow, so cannot comment on the pillows. There was no information book in the room telling what the TV channels were, where things are located, etc. The bathroom is very small, again I think this was this room, may not be with the others, the toilet paper roll made a nice armrest while using the john. There was a small space with a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker just outside the bathroom, maybe this is why the bathroom was so cramped. I used reward points for this stay, maybe that is why it was a little substandard. Other hotel reward programs that I use usually give me an upgrade at check-in when I cash in points making me feel like I am a valuable customer. When we were leaving, another customer had their door open and the room looked more spacious, the microwave etc were in a sitting area and it looked like the bedroom area was a separate area in the back. The grounds were very nice, has a beautiful outdoor pool area with tables and chairs, large palm trees. Breakfast was excellent, a good variety of foods and friendly hostess.

Easy to access from the interstate. Check in was quick and easy. The room size was nice with a door that separates the sleep area from the suite area. Coffee maker, fridge and microwave were handy. It was too cold to use the pool but it was in the center of the court yard and looked nice. Free breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. Only down side for me was the sleeping, mattress was too hard for me and I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring.

This property is well maintained. We were surprised that they offered a shuttle within a 5 mile radius. This is perfect for those who are attending the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction. The king bed suite included two rooms. The front room included a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, TV and desk. The bedroom had a small balcony to see the nice view of the mountains and sun rising. There is an airport next to the hotel. We noticed that it was quiet after a certain hour and then the traffic started again about 6 am. The breakfast had a great selection of hot food items; omelets, scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. There are many cold options to choose from along with the fruit and pastries. Everything was clean and nicely organized. The staff was friendly.There is also a bar/lounge next to the restaurant called, Silver Wings. There is a pool and Jacuzzi available in the center court of the hotel. This location is close to everything. Abundant restaurants and shopping available. We would stay again.

Had a good stay at this BW. Staff very friendly, suites are large, bathroom small. We were mislead by the notation that there was a restaurant. It truly is just a bar with fast food items. Breakfast is the typical hotel breakfast room with hit and cold choices. It was a true plus to have free shuttle service to and from the Barrett Jackson auction sight.

This was our first time at this great location Perfect for the value customer that wants to be close to the action in Scottsdale The pool is a nice size and if your a early riser the planes taking off will help to wake you early from the private airport almost beside the hotel

I would have said this was excellent, but the night clerk at check in just didn't seem to care about anything. And the housekeeping came by too early in the morning. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. And for the price, you get a really nice size suite and a yummy breakfast.

A hidden secret of places to stay. Nice spacious rooms, great staff, nice pool and great breakfast staff with good food. The location was near many restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay there again when I visit Scottsdale again!

For a nice place to take a break from the Canadian winter, this hotel is close to everything. It is comfortable and reasonably priced. Only downfall is that it is beside an airport. Some noise from the planes.

Our stay at this facility was a pleasure thanks to the staff and the amenities offered. The building was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. All staff we encountered, as well as housekeeping was extremely courteous and kind and we highly recommend this hotel to all that plan to travel in the area.

The hotel staff was friendly but the room accommodations was below standards and need improvement. We had to change rooms because the door was broken and the lock would not work and the TV in the bedroom also did not work. They could not get it to work and they needed to relocate us to another room. The hotel room was below standard and need updating and was not as clean as it should have been. The toilet was stain had to clean it myself. The breakfast servers was great, but the breakfast needed to change it was the same items everyday with one change.

This hotel is outstanding for the price. Clean rooms, great pool, great location, great shopping within a mile, the staff is outstanding especially Steve in the breakfast area. Oh and free breakfast. The shuttle drivers are great and will drive you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

The staff is always friendly and provide excellent customer service. Due to my trip changing multiple time I had to cancel my reservation then showed up without a reservation. They immediately accommodated my stay. The breakfast is always hot and very good. The staff within the dining area are very pleasant and make sure that they always offer wonderful hospitality.

Our trip to the area was for medical treatment and all of the employees were very helpful and happy to help whenever we needed anything. We asked for no housekeeping service while we were there due to medical issues and not wanting to be disturbed, and they were quite happy to let me just ask for whatever we needed. We don't usually like to bother others unless necessary. Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and had extra space to move around in. The suite provided a door between rooms so my husband could take naps while I worked in the other room without disturbing him. There was a very nice work area for computer work right next to the mini-kitchen area. Although we were advised that the beds were new, they were extremely hard and not the usual pillow-top models that Best Western Plus usually has. They could have been softer for our taste. The carpeting was old and thread bare in some places and it was clear that it had not been replaces since this hotel became a Best Western 3 years ago. The room had a smell of old cigarette smoke, even though the entire hotel is advertised as a non-smoking property. I would venture to say that if the carpeting had been replaced, and the air system filters replaced, that smell would go away. Breakfast was surprisingly better than the usual hotel breakfast fare with a variety of options including fresh fruit. Even the eggs were tasty. There is a nice little bar and grill in the hotel that is open in the evenings. We did not check it out, though. There were too many other places with a larger variety of menu options very near the property, so we opted to go out whenever we could, or just go get carry out orders. We would definitely return to this hotel when back in the area. It is much better than some of the other choices nearby and for a better price. And, the option to use the courtesy shuttle makes this a far better choice.

I believe the palms here are the tallest I've ever seen - nice clean hot tub & pool Best breakfast & best service ever! Good bar food & great bar keep. We really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Just arrived home from a great stay at BW Thunderbird Suites. Although across from the Scottsdale airport, we could hardly tell it was that close. I am truly a fanatic when picking hotels, and this will now be our go to hotel when in the area. The cleanliness of this hotel is amazing, excellent support staff, great breakfast included, thank you Steve for your hard work and efforts in the morning! Bed was comfortable & space in rooms was good. IF I had to find one thing wrong, it would be, the bathroom is small. However, that does not take away all the great things this property has to offer.

We stayed here to be close to our family. The room was a one room suite, it was close to park and walk to the room. Front room had couch, TV, business and kitchen area. Bedroom suite had king bed, flat screen, walk in closet. Bathroom was large with 2 separate sinks, large jacuzzi and the walk in shower We were close to pool, the grounds around the pool and hot tub were beautiful, peaceful to sit around. We will definitely stay again

This, not your 5-star hotel; It has a 5-star quality of service. When staying at any hotel you expect quality service. This is what you will get when you stay at the Best Western Plus, in Scottsdale, AZ. The service was there from the moment I checked in, to the moment I checked out. First and foremost, Steven. Keep in mind this hotel serves a complimentary breakfast. However, Steven provided service to each customer like we were paying him top dollar. A top quality restaurant could benefit if they captured Steven. Then there were Ethan and Lana. These are your premier desk clerks. I arrived early, very early. I was made to feel comfortable. In the evening there was Ethan. These desk clerks are on the top of their game. Not to forget, the maintenance man. As I was leaving he too asked how was my stay and he said have a safe trip home. I cannot leave out the Starlite Lounge. This is a place within the hotel that serves drinks and food. The food was wonderful and bartenders... outstanding. Wow, what a place. After my five days stay, as I was leaving the hotel, I became confused and sad. I was unsure if I was leaving a hotel or if I was leaving home. If ever I were to travel near or through Scottsdale, I will stop by to spend a night at home.

We love love this property it is so convenient if you fly in or out of the air park. The hotel is in wonderful condition and has great rooms. Parking lot is clean and neat and well lit I feel very safe there when alone. You can walk to restaurants, Kierland Commons bars and shopping with in minutes.

For events at West World or surrounding activities, it has great value. Staff is always very helpful and courteous. It's not a 5-Star resort, but perfect if you're looking for a place to "home base" for your busy daily activities, Thunderbird Suits definitely fills the bill. You start off with a great complimentary breakfast, served by a very attentive staff. (You didn't hear it from me, but ask the chef and he will make a special breakfast burrito for you).

Excellent place to stay in Scottsdale. Breakfast is also includedl and wifi. The rooms are clean and all the premises inside the hotel. The service in the bar is excellent and friendly bartenders. In the morning in the breakfast area, Steve takes care of you while you are having breakfast. He is checking on you for any need.

This was a hotel that should have been great, but missed the mark on almost all categories. It was dirty, noisy and served mediocre food. Shuttle service was mediocre. Room service was poor even cigarette butts at the pool

I spent one night at the Best Western as a last minute booking. The entire experience was professional and pleasant. Room was very clean and had all the amenities I desired. At night I felt safe and secure in a very comfy bed. Shower was strong and warm. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Nice presentation and good tasting. Not your usual "breakfast included". I'd definitely stay again.

Nice to have a suite with a separate bedroom for a reasonable price. Enjoyed the complementary breakfast and Steve offers the best customer service around. We walked to Kirtland Commons and enjoyed shopping.

Butterfly wonderland is well worth a visit! The hotel is located within driving distance of all Scottsdale has to offer. No problem with airport noise. Even the temporary road construction was not noticeable. Very good breakfast excellent staff

Nice hotel next to the Scottsdale Airport. Quiet, clean and tremendous customer service. Bathroom was a little small. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance or a very short car ride. Definitely will use again.

We were here for 5 days visiting family. This hotel is right across the street from Scottsdale Airport but only heard a few fights take off early am. Stayed in a king suite that was clean and spacious. Most of the rooms over look a beautiful pool/whirlpool surrounded by palm trees. I used the whirlpool often but the pool was too cold for me! They told me it was set at 85 degrees..no way (I know what 85 feels like) Breakfast was the *best* I have ever had at a hotel and Steve was so accommodating..seriously this guy deserves a big raise! Only complaint I have was the fan in bathroom is on the same switch as the light and it's very loud..ugh!

Thank you for a great rest before we left AZ. We had a long day of travel and the hotel was very nice. Great Beds/nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of choices and great staff. Nice information available about the surrounding area too. We will be back!

We stayed for a week, we had a diffrent course everyday , and it tasted great. It is worth it just for the breakfeast. Clean rooms. We are going to stay again here when we come once a year for work. They have a shuttle service. I cant say enough how it was nice

Hot tub wasn't hot. It didn't even bubble. Then when it did, it shot cold water. Food in the morning was ok. The orange juice part was broken. Beds were ok. We requested extra blankets but there was not enough staff so we had to go get them ourselves, after a long night of driving.

not quite the level of a BW Plus, but very close. breakfast staff was amazing, food was above average for level of hotel, rooms were average. Could use some updating, and from the looks of lobby, that's on the way. easy commuting with walking and ubering

Of all the hotels we have stayed in the past I would say this is the best we have found so far for value received. This is a pet friendly hotel we brought our toy dog with us. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who asks us. also we would stay there if or when we are in the area again.

If you find yourself in North Scottsdale, the Best Western Thunderbird Suites is a great stay. I would have rated it excellent, except be aware, it is next to the Scottsdale airport, and planes leave early, so ask for a room on the other side of the airport. What made the stay exceptional was Steve in their breakfast room. I have never seen a harder working, more accommodating, friendly person than Steve. The room itself is spacious, and the breakfast choices excellent, made exceptional by Steve!!

Property consists of suites with separate sitting room/kitchenette and bedroom. It is clean with average hotel furnishings. Bathroom is smaller than average. Breakfasts were better than average, served in a large pleasant room with excellent service. Location is right at the Scottsdale Airport (not PHX) and walking distance to two upscale Shopping/Dining Lifestyle Centers. Overall experience was good and we would return.

Perfectly nice little hotel. Nothing fancy but economical and clean with good internet and a fine breakfast. The service at breakfast was unbelievable it was so good. Steve, the gentleman that runs this area, was perfect and made me feel as though my satisfaction was his only goal. The food was decent but the service sublime.

We have stayed at the Thunderbird Suite on many occasions, even before being taken over by Best Western and we have never been disappointed. Indeed we feel that the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel has been somewhat improved since Best Western took over. Whilst the hotel is not exactly central, it is convenient for the Scottsdale airport and generally a quiet place to stay even though the airport is close by dealing with smaller jet planes! All the rooms are suites with a separate seating area and with kitchen facilities. The pool area is well maintained and easily accessible. A very good breakfast is provided and a special mention must go to Steve who could not do enough to ensure that breakfast at the Thunderbird was a very pleasurable experience....thanks Steve, keep up the good work you are a credit to the hotel! There is a small bar area which provides a limited menu but the hours are rather short i.e. it closes at 9.00pm However for a good value for money place to stay, with a more than above average standard of comfort, we cannot fault the Thunderbird Suites and we plan to return next May when we return to Arizona. Thank you to all the staff and keep the English tea coming Steve!

The people here are very friendly, great customer service. They shuttle me often to business place and dinner or nearby hopping areas. The rooms are clean and updated and the property well maintained. I have tried different types of rooms in each corner, it is a quiet place. It could only be made better with larger bathrooms and more comfortable beds. I learned to bring my own pillow because theirs are very thick. I was picky this time of which floor I stayed on upon check in and they were very gracious. Overall, I will stay here again and am pleased with breakfast and overall service. Seriously have never had such nice service at breakfast with a employee who sets my place and brings tea to me.

My fiancé and I planned a vacation months in advance through Hotels.com. After seeing the hotel I booked and reading the reviews she canceled our previous booking and booked this hotel last minute. Even though it's not a resort it's clean, the staff is extremely friendly and it serves it's purpose. There's a free shuttle that runs from 8am-8pm that can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. The pool is open most of the day as well and there's free breakfast every morning. Steve, the waiter who runs the breakfast is super friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget.

We stayed here 2 years ago and found it comfortable. It's not the most modern or luxury but that's not the point to me. Facing the small low key Scottsdale airport near Keirland Commons. Room comfortable once again although getting a bit battered but finally slept all night through here - a first on our 3 week road trip. A/c so quiet , perfect! Best breakfast all round as well. Steve the breakfast host is to be commended but not a morning social person so would rather be left to my own devices and choose my own food and drink. Peaceful sitting around pool but found the water temperature really cold. Sure it was much warmer then that last time. Had some room issues with no stopper for sink in kitchenette, key card reader not working one day and room not made up. Reported spa not working but was told new part on order but the spa wasn't working 2 years ago either!

Stayed here wile attending a conference at an expensive nearby hotel-resort. Standard midrange mini-suite room but clean, spacious and comfortable. Complimentary shuttle service to my conference hotel, a surprise. Breakfast buffet better than average with superior service - when was the last time you were at a hotel's free breakfast buffet and which staff offered to put out your place setting and get your coffee? Charming bartender in the late afternoon-evening lounge. We'd go back.

Top 10 Excellent features: 10 - Excellent customer service. After 9 days, these people became my friends! 9 - Staff went the extra mile to help! 8 - Shuttle service took you anywhere you wanted to go within a 5-mile radius! 7 - Large rooms 6 - Clean 5 - Beautiful well-maintained pool and hot tub. 4 - Dinner cuisine was excellent 3.- Quiet and peaceful 2 - Convenient 1 - Great bar, great bartender and great drinks! Suggestions that would make the hotel even better: 3 - Upgrade beds. Need softer mattresses. 2 - Improve breakfast food. A self-serve waffle iron would be nice. 1 - Repaint and re-carpet rooms to a lighter brighter color. Rooms are too dark. Because of the issues listed above in suggested changes, I was going to cancel my reservation as soon as I entered my room. I decided to stay the night and go to another hotel in the area on the next day, but because of the people that work in the hotel, I decided to stay the full nine days. ALL of these folks went out of their way to help me over and over again! They truly know the meaning of great customer service and friendship. In my opinion that is gold. I am glad I stayed!

I am in Scottsdale for private pilot instrument training. The staff here at the Best Western Plus have bent over backwards to fulfill every request that I have made. It feels like a home away from home.

First of all, I'm a light sleeper and I have a hard time sleeping in a hotel room with a loud AC unit. The king suite I had was laid out great. There is a separate living room where the AC is located and you can close the door to the bedroom at night. It was very quite and I got a good nights rest. The breakfast for surpasses other hotels I have stayed at. The host/waiter Steve who goes above and beyond what is customary making sure your breakfast is enjoyable. Best Western has earned a new and loyal fan and I will book with them every opportunity I get.

This is a beautiful hotel but it's beauty is not totally contained in its physical plant. The STAFF are wonderful, caring and they know what the word "service" means. Refreshing pool, picturesque views, rooms with ROOM and comfortable beds. Reasonable price and breakfast and a happy hour munch is included.

The hotel is not as good as when I previosly stayed when it was The Thunderbird Suites. I asked for a room looking North but the guy on reception wasn't interested in changing the room I had already been allocated. The rooms were OK and they had all the amenities you need but I wouldn't stay here again. There are hotels just as good in the area that charge lower rates

My husband had a Dr's appt on a Monday morning, & rather than fight rush hour traffic in Scottsdale, we opted to go down on a Sunday & spend the night. What a perfect idea. We got right in even though we were a bit early, I did some shopping & the hubby hit the pool. PERFECT.

Very comfortable suite with very comfortable beds. Pool and Jacuzzi are small but adequate and clean. Though the Jacuzzi was not working and had too much chlorine in it. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional! Very fresh and a huge assortment to select from. The grounds are well maintained and pleasant. The room was clean and only had a problem with one lamp outlet not working in the bedroom. Hotel is next to the airport, so we were concerned about noise, but we didn't need to be. We were on the ground floor at the back, and never heard a thing from the airport when indoors. Very pleasant, helpful staff also. Less than 3 miles from the Mayo Clinic which was the purpose of our trip, and only a couple miles off the 101 down Scottsdale Blvd. Plenty of restaurants in the area.

Awesome hotel tucked away in North Scottsdale. Close to small airport but you don't hear the planes when your in your room. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Restaurant and bar on location. Breakfast staff over the top Steve will blow your mind with his attentiveness. Great location within 1 mile of great shopping, restaurants and dinner movie theatre. Book this you wont regret it.

Start with the rooms, clean, large, suite with breakfast bar, fridge and sink, desk. Comfy bed, good sheets. Breakfast was much better than expected, lots of fresh fruit, plenty of carbs, different meats, cereal and some of the nice extras not at most hotels. Staff at breakfast was very accommodating, friendly, smiling. Didn't use the pool, but it was 114°. (not the water) Checked wifi and signal was strong. Rooms 209, 107 were facing pool and close to parking lot.

Nice, clean, quiet retreat. Staff (reception, lounge, shuttle driver, breakfast manager, etc) were wonderful: friendly and efficient. Free shuttle rides to the nearby Scottsdale Quarter. Only drawback is the pool. No shade or umbrellas make it close to unusable in Arizona summers and you need to bring your own pool towels (theirs are smaller & thinner than bath towels)!

This hotel is adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport and very convenient for both business and pleasure. Though this is an older hotel, its been updated and very clean! The staff is also very polite and professional and also offer a shuttle service.

Great people, great location, and superior service. Breakfast buffet is "home cooked" style on most days. The bar/lounge is pleasant with very good food options. The business meeting rooms are spacious and well appointed.

Very clean, well appointed mini-suites with helpful, friendly staff. I left some personal property behind, and the hotel arranged for it to be sent to my office using my Fed Ex account. Bar & restaurant are not fancy, but the bartender and chef are personable. It is well located by the airport and mall with high end restaurants and clothing stores, etc. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The Best Western Thunderbird in Scottsdale, AZ is a relaxing hotel with all the amenities I require at a fair, reasonable price during my off season travels. From check in to check out and everything in between, Lana at the front desk handled it. Steve in the dining area at breakfast, David the cook, Sal the night cook, presented scrumptious fare. Sal is way better than he is allowed to be. Lori runs an inviting bar experience with tasty drinks and conversation. A real gem. Brian and Santos keep things running mechanically up to par, though the pool water cooling system has now NOT been working during my two stays. Might want to put some money into that. The lone issue is housekeeping which is good when it's done. A haphazard schedule done daily by different people. I requested morning service upon arrival and again on my 5th night and that didn't seem to cover it, so I skipped having any the last six nights. At least then I knew when I could clear up on my own.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Scottsdale, with access to shopping, near the MIM and Taliesin West, this is a good place to stay. The rates were reasonable (for Scottsdale), but the rooms are very very clean. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and quick to make things right. The hotel offers breakfast, but there are lots of nearby restaurants. It is near the Scottsdale Air Park, but we didn't hear a lot of noise.

Very helpful staff. The suite was very clean. The bathroom has separate shower and bathtub and two sinks. The rates were great, the breakfast was very tasty and well-presented. Overall, a very good experience.

Steve in the dinning room deserves a raise in pay. He would go above and beyond expected service from a dinning room employee... Front desk was alway happy to help with info and solving problems. Fully cooked breakfasts were an added surprise.

Hotel was below average. Dirty rooms, untrained staff, broken amenities. I highly suggest doing your research first before booking this hotel as there are plenty of other options in the area at a similar price.

Love this Best Western. The staff is always on their game and truly care about my stay. I drive the extra just to stay at this Hotel vs all the others around. I recommend this Best Western to both work associates and family.

First time at this hotel in Scottsdale. Overall, it was a great stay in a nice hotel. Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Had a small fridge, coffee machine and a large bathroom area. When returning, I will stay there again.

I was not sure where to stay in Scottsdale, but chose this hotel because of it's proximity to Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West. The hotel was excellent - they gave me a two room suite. The pool was divine, the breakfast the best I've ever had at a hotel chain. The location was very convenient to all areas of Scottsdale. Very quiet, and an excellent bed. I would definitely stay again!

This motel/hotel is off the path. It sits in a corner by the private airport. It is very quiet, no traffic driving by yet close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Very clean, great breakfast, nice rooms and pool.

Hotel location is very good for getting to restaurants and shopping. Room was a bit small and the bathroom was very tiny. Bed is very firm. Services are very good and breakfast is nice and the staff was great.

My husband and I really enjoyed my trip to Scottsdale and the staff at the Best Western Plus Thunderbird Suite were very professional and friendly. The hotel is located near a lot of shops and restaurants.

Exterior of hotel and pool was very pleasing. They offered a great free breakfast in a very clean atmosphere. The rooms were clean and adequate, however if you are expecting 5 star interior, this is not it. My trip started on business however turned into pleasure vacation in the latter part and I was satisified enough to remain at this hotel.

We only stayed here for a night and the hotel was like many in the area, but the staff was outstanding! Friendly, helpful, responsive, especially Steve in the breakfast area. You can tell the management of this hotel is doing something right because it is reflected in attitude of the people who work here. Rooms are bedroom/living area suite set up. Facility is a little older, but well maintained, and clean. Rooms was very quiet and AC kept us comfortable over the start of 100 plus degree heat. Location is great, close to shopping, golf and hiking. Has a large pool that was clean and inviting. Breakfast is amazing with freshly cooked real eggs, pork and chicken sausage, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, freshly prepared fruit, homemade salsas, etc. Lots of choices and very filling. We will definitely book a stay here again.

Breakfast was more than a meal. Steve served us like we were royalty and topped off our stay in grand fashion! The room was lovely and clean. Smokers standing outside the room where we had to walk through the smoke was not appreciated, but that was not the fault of the hotel.

Visited for 3 nights and couldn't have had a nicer stay. Scottsdale is a beautiful place and we at first thought the hotel was a little out of the way but there is a driver at the hotel who will take you anywhere within 5 miles and was always available and really friendly. The breakfast included was lovely a really good choice and there was coffee and water available in reception all day. When we stayed a lot of the guests were working so we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves most of the day. I would recommend but just remember the hotel is 24 miles from airport and 9 miles from downtown if that doesn't bother you definitely a good choice.

Very nice and attentive staff, something that seems to be hard to find these days in a hotel. Nice location bear Scottsdale airport and near plenty of restaurants. Would stay here again when visiting.

We slept soundly in the most comfortable king size bed. Staff especially courteous and helpful. This hotel is clean and inviting. Hotel shuttle will take you to nearby restaurants and bars and help you find what you are looking for.

The hotel was centrally located for business & pleasure. There were plenty of great restaurants in the area as well as shopping. The way the rooms are configured this hotel is excellent for families as there's ample room.

We enjoyed our stay, my room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was more than I would have expected with different hot cooked items each day. The breakfast attendant (Steve?) gave us top notch service. Hotel is located in a nice area with a lot of shopping and eating choices nearby.

We only spent one night at the Thunderbird, and wish we had booked more! The whole atmosphere at the hotel is impressive. It felt like we were staying at an upscale Scottsdale Resort...with a fantastic, friendly local tavern on the premises! Very enjoyable stay.

for breakfast, Steve set up a place for me, refilled my drinks, he was awesome. Lori the bartender was super friendly and personable. Mark, Brian and Nick the shuttle drivers were amazingly helpful and made me feel so comfortable. Excellent experience!!

First three nights of our golf vacation were spent at the Thunderbird. Great location to get to most areas - expressways close north south. Rooms were very well kept - clean and comfortable Really liked the breakfast - great choices and service

This Best Western is conveniently located adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable. There are a number of places to eat nearby. If you have a reason to visit Scottsdale I would certainly recommend this hotel for your stay.

My husband and spent two nights here. The location is very convenient to Kierland shops and restaurants, and lots of others in Scottsdale. We requested a first-floor suite and #107 was on the west side. The living room was spacious as was the bedroom. We used the refrigerator and microwave. For the price, we brought our own paper towels, napkins and plastic utensils. There was plenty of drawer space and hangers. The king bed was comfortable for both of us and the TV worked well. The room was very clean and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. The complementary breakfast had the standard waffles, sausage, cereal and baked goods. My husband used the gym and said that it was fine. Overall, staying here was an excellent value!

I booked a mother-daughter long weekend here because it is super close to American Girl and shopping. Based on the other reviews, I am glad I did. I am Canadian, and everyone says we are friendly, but all of the people working here, are the friendliest we have met. Steve, for morning breakfast is lovely! KInd, friendly, and will do whatever you need. The bar person at the little restaurant, Lori, super kind and lovely. It also has a kids' menu which was awesome! It is within walking distance to Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter (tons of great shopping for a mom-daughter weekend). Note that it is 20 minutes drive to downtown Scottsdale, but Phoenix/Scottsdale is very spread out- either you have to rent a car (I find it super expensive renting cars in Phoenix), or plan where your 'home base' is and then uber or transport to wherever else you want to go. They have a very friendly shuttle here within 5 miles. I used 'supershuttle' from the airport, which was incredibly easy to use (just go over to the supershuttle booth by baggage pick up) in Skyharbour airport. And otherwise, used hotel shuttle, and uber for longer distances....Rooms here are clean and pool is great! For the price, the breakfast, friendly service, this is an amazing hotel- I enjoyed being across from the scottsdale airport...it was fun to sit out on the balcony of the restaurant, watching the little planes takes off. Never heard them at night...and I'm a light sleeper!

Visited this hotel because it was the most convenient hotel for RunTheRunway2017: hotel is just across the road from Scottsdale Airport. Very nice hotel; friendly and efficient staff; excellent breakfast ... thank you Steve ... small bar/lounge offers selection of beers, wines, cocktails and a limited selection of food. Location very convenient to Kierland Commons shops and restaurants and not far from Old Town Scottsdale with its wide variety of stores and restaurants. If I run the race next year, we will be sure to stay here again.

Stayed four nights. Our room was not cleaned after the first night. Staff had gone home after we came back from the days activities. Disappointed after the first day but very good after that. Rooms were very nice and large. Room prices for the four nights were about $100 higher than normal rates. I think they jacked up the rates because the final four was there that weekend.

We stayed in AZ during a busy week and most of the other hotels had inflated prices. BW had the best value - good room, good breakfast and a great price. I would stay here again. The noise level of the small airport nearby might put some people off but we are early risers so it didn't bother us.

I have been staying at this hotel for the past nine years. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I love to stay here! Recently, the doors were reversed on the bathrooms to create more space.....great improvement to what was already a great experience. The complimentary buffet breakfast and the service that goes along with it are always a wonderful start to the day!

Great location for a quick overnight in the Phoenix area. LARGE suites, great hot tub, and a nice green courtyard in the center. Our balcony had a view of the sunset over Camelback Mountain. The Phoenix icon. Very close to the Scottsdale airport, but no noise problems despite overlooking the runway. Would stay a gain when in the area. Small caveat, the green grass in the central courtyard seemed to be used by those staying by their pets. But, most owners seemed very responsible in their "pick up" mode.

we stayed here with our dogs for a major competition in town. Half way through our stay, the air conditioner stopped working. Since we were only in the room between 8pm and 6 am it took a few days to realize why it was so warm. We notified the front desk and while they had someone come look at the unit, it wasn't fixed and our options were to pack every thing up and move, just to repack it the next morning or open a window (on the first floor) on to a lighted landscape feature, with now protection features on the window. No apologies and no discount was offered. Very disappointed we paid so much for no air conditioning.

Our family of four had a great stay here! The suite offered the perfect set up for our family. The kids really enjoyed the heated pool in the courtyard. Breakfast was good with great service! Would definitely stay again.

Good Atmosphere and service. Spent 5 days. Nice relaxing lounge barge. Well kept and clean even if they allow pets. No pet smell. They keep the rooms and surroundings very clean. Definitely would love to stay again at this hotel.

The best kept , well maintained , cleanest facility I have stayed with to date. Breakfast was well above the standards of any other location. Very nice bar area with a very impressive menu. The pool area is surrounded by the building , with plenty of sun & shade.

Stayed here the first week of November 2016. Had a great time! The double bed room with a living room was clean and comfortable. Our room had a mini-fridge, microwave and sink. A/C worked well. The outdoor pool is centrally located in the middle of the hotel, but at night, the pool wasn't crowded and the Jacuzzi/whirlpool was nice and hot. Lauren, in Guest Services, was exceptional! Steve (who works the breakfast shift) was helpful, all the way around. These two individuals made my stay, that much more pleasant and I will definitely stay at this location again. The hotel shuttle service was fast and convenient. The breakfast was also quite tasty and varied each day.

I knew that this hotel is not going to be tip top because the price I paid. And I was right. It is totally fine for the price, so do not expect much. Each room has refrigerator, microwave. Also they have breakfast that is very convenient. The room is just average. This hotel is right next to Scottsdale airport.

The rooms are fine. Clean and comfortable. Was not super excited about being next to the airport but inside the room it was quiet! The grounds are well-kept and clean in the pool was nice. The staff is phenomenal. Everyone is very friendly. But the best part was Steve, the dining room attendant. He was amazing and friendly and had tons of knowledge about the area. He made the trip that much better! The breakfast was mostly homemade, including a most unbelievable salsa!!! Highly recommend this place!!

Good location. Picked room based on location near Mayo Clinic. Stay was fine except for returning to hotel 2nd night and power had gone out due to traffic accident in area. I felt the staff should have been better prepared for an emergency such as this. I was a on the 4th floor and had to walk up the stairs. Being a single woman traveler, I thought the staff should have had a flashlight and offered to take people to their rooms. Not knowing the area or the hotel, it was unsettling. I mentioned it the next morning to the front desk and the person didn't know the power had been out! I realize it was not the hotel's fault, but I thought the staff should have been better trained if something occurred like this! Plus the room had not been cleaned that day.

Stayed in this hotel for the location and it was great. The hotel is pretty average, but ataff is friendly and rooms ok. Free breakfast was weak but it was close to some great breakfast places if that makes a difference If you are on a budget and need the location, this is the place.

Stayed here overnight for business. The staff was very friendly. The hotel had a nice pool & hot tub. The rooms were very clean & comfortable beds. Had a fridge & sink area in them. Bathrooms were clean as well. Hotel offers hot/cold continental breakfast free for quests. Lots of stores & restaurants in area. Hotel also is right next to Scottsdale airport. Great experience, friendly and helpful staff. super comfortable bed. Staff assisted us in getting to our son-in-law's graduation venue with a map and detailed instructions. when we got off the freeway we called the front desk and they gave us easy to follow instructions on how best to return to the hotel. Steve in the breakfast restaurant was very attentive to all of our needs.

I am very conflicted about this property. There are many wonderful things, and one big flaw that I need to point out. I'll start with the good. The breakfast staff is absolutely wonderful. The entire team, but especially Steve provide some of the best service I have ever seen anywhere. He is extremely attentive and personable, always asking if you need anything, or getting you a refill of the drink that he remembers you had. He has lots of stories to tell, and can talk to you for ages if you want a great conversation. This alone almost makes the hotel worth it to stay to me. The other good points are the pool and courtyard in general are beautiful, and very clean. The rooms are nice and the location in proximity to shopping and things like that is perfect. The big con for me and my family (who have two rooms) is the room cleaning staff. They've forgotten to clean a couple of times, even when we were gone most of the day without 'do not disturb' hanging. The main thing is that even when they do clean, they'll forget things - like bringing new towels, or TP, or vacuuming the floor. My sister and I ran completely out of TP a couple days ago. Other than perhaps the cleaning staff being a bit forgetful or nonchalant, this is a wonderful property and I'd definitely consider staying here again if I'm ever back in the area.

Steve in the restaurant serving breakfast gave the best service ever (as I told him) in my 48 years. Attentive, positive, and clearly genuinely caring about my experience....the main reason I will stay there again, even though I spent only an hour total during my 3 day stay there. Honestly, best service ever, he deserves a promotion!! Somebody better tell Steve he is appreciated by the people he works hard to give better than great service to...promotion, promotion, promotion!!

I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if I returned to Scottsdale. I traveled to Phoenix to receive treatment at the Mayo Clinic. This hotel had a courtesy shuttle that covered a 5-mile radius and took me to my appointments as well as to the pharmacy. We were within walking distance of shopping and a lot of great restaurants, but could also get a ride to anywhere we didn't feel like walking to. The pool area is very clean and large and was never crowded so it made for a nice quiet place to relax, read a book, and cool off. The continental breakfast had a lot of variety, incredible service, and stayed open until 10 AM (which is great for those of us who like to sleep in!) We booked a room with two full size beds. The room was smaller than expected and the decor wasn't very modern but it was comfortable and very very clean. I saved around $500 booking with this hotel instead of the Residence Inn on the Mayo Clinic campus. The staff was truly amazing. Everyone was so friendly and polite. They remembered our names, greeted us whenever we crossed paths, and gave great recommendations on dining and entertainment. The hotel is not nearly as large or nice as it appears in the photos, but it is a much better value than many of the surrounding hotels and I was very pleased with our experience.

Your staff made us feel welcomed and important. There were many choices we could have made but I am so pleased we stayed with you. Steve and Sal in the morning are a tag team of breakfast wonder! Truly a blessing.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay with a friendly and a customer service driven staff this is your place! The free breakfast is great, but Steve, the host and Sal, the chef make it amazing! I have a severe soy allergy so they asked if they could accommodate me. I have not had eggs at a restaurant in over 5 years. They did not treat me or the other guests like a bother, rather it seemed to be their sincere pleasure to go above and beyond to serve us. The chef visited each person in the room. Steve gave great hiking tips and local information. It was absolutely the best hotel breakfast experience I have ever had. The rooms are spacious, updated, and clean. My room was cleaned by the time I returned from breakfast. It is right next to the Scottsdale Airport, which may be a drawback for some, but my room was quiet and the view of the mountains was beautiful. It is close to great shopping, hiking, and anything you might need. I highly recommend this hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay, everyone of the staff were so friendly and helped us with all of our needs. The employees were happy and helped made you have a good day with their friendly, happy attitude. I give this hotel a thumbs up they were awesome.

I had an appointment at Mayo Clinic, and Bestwestern gave me a very good rate. My wife and I stayed only one night and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. I have a breathing disorder, and they provided me with extra pillows to prop up my head to sleep better. Had the breakfast buffet the next morning, and was not very impressed. The waffles I had were hard and cold. The eggs and potatoes were ok, not sure if I will eat there again. All and all, the staff was very pleasant,and helped out whenever they could. I would recommend this hotel, and it is only 5 miles from Mayo Clinic,5 very easy miles.

This hotel had a great location - close to everything. The room was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the nicest things about the hotel was the daily breakfast. Food was prepared fresh every morning. A different dish was offered every morning. Sal and Steve are the best! Thank you.

I chose to stay in this hotel as it was close to the Scottsdale locations I needed to attend. I was a resident of PHX for 3 1/2 years so I know the area very well. This hotel is off Butherus near Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland so it's very convenient from that aspect. It's right near the Scottsdale airport so there is some road noise -mostly from motorcycles so I would recommend a room in the back vs. the front. The room I started in had a leaky AC which needed repair so the maintenance engineer took charge and moved me to another room. He was very helpful and service-oriented. Unfortunately, the front desk staff wasn't alerted that I moved rooms so I got a call later in the afternoon from the staff. No one said anything at first - I heard some yelling in the background - Btw - front desk manager - very unprofessional! They finally spoke and asked who I was in the room and why. I explained (after they woke me up from a nap) and then they left me alone. The room itself is fine. A nice sitting are with couch, TV and kitchen with microwave and fridge. The bathroom is TINY. You can barely fit in there -- bad design. I did notice the underside of the couch cushions needed to be cleaned due to stains - I won't get it into, but it was gross. Housekeeping - turn over the cushions and look! The bedroom was separate and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fine - good layout and plenty of space to sit. The pool area looked nice, but I did not use it. With so many hotel choices, I probably won't stay here again, but if budget is your first priority - then consider this hotel.

This hotel is very basic and in the middle of no where. The pool was very nice and clean and the rooms were also clean. One down fall was the washroom in the hotel room was very tiny(especially with 3 people sharing a room) and there was no additional mirror in the room(i have never seen this at any other hotel). The hotel had a great breakfast and nice staff. I would say this was more of a corporate hotel with people using it for their business travels more than a vacation spot. I also would not suggest walking on that street at night time time as it is pitch black with no lights at all. There were also some shady people wandering that street at night time. Ok experience but would not return.

The best western plus offers both quality and value, will always look here first when planning our next trip. Very good beds, clean, hot breakfast and internet included. Consistent and dependability that I have come to count on.

This hotel is convenient to everything in Scottsdale, without the high prices. My unit had a bedroom, small kitchenette, desk, and small living room. What more can one ask for! I am always concerned to stay in a kitchenette unit, although convenient can have unpleasant odors. This hotel did not have those issues! Everything was well maintained, and clean. Yes the bathroom is a bit small, but I am appreciative that the space was put into the living areas and not a room I spend little time in. Pool area was well maintained and an appreciated respite from the heat. Staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, thank you. A real affordable little gem here, with staff attitudes tying this package up in a bow!

Just wanted to comment on this Best Western Plus, it was a great stay from the check in to the check out. The hotel is well kept, grounds perfect, room very clean and comfortable, great location, very nice pool, nice bar, good food and the best is their staff. We were treated like true guests, the staff really cares about the customer. Lori the bartender was fantastic and very helpful about the area we enjoyed her and the both cooks, I know one was David and the other we did not get his name, were excellent and could not do enough to please you. We always went back each night after sight seeing to eat and have a few drinks, we really felt at home. Steve, the gentleman at breakfast was a true customer service ambassador for Best Western, really takes care of his guests and make you feel welcome. Last but not least was Lana at the front desk, she was very nice, efficient and very helpful along with the others working the desk. We had no bottle opener to open a beverage and just a little thing like looking for an opener and opening the bottle for us was such a nice gesture from a busy front desk employee. Little things do count and hopefully Best Western realizes what a fantastic staff they have. The maid service was wonderful and very efficient. We will return to this hotel when we are in the Scottsdale area again and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Scottsdale. Lovely place to stay. I was there for the Miss Jetset Model contest Hangar Party. The location was extremely convenient for this event at the Executive Airport. The staff was very nice and the bartender gets 5 stars! I highly recommend the Hamburger!

This Best Western is on a dead end street across the street from the local Scottsdale airport. It's NOT noisy at all and the room I had was huge: big comfy living room, kitchen, big bedroom, and two sinks in the bathroom. Pool was great and service at breakfast set a new record for any hotel. This hotel is a MUST when you visit Scottdale or Phoenix. It's near the new Musical Instrument Museum, a real gem.

We normally stay at the Marriott, Towne Place Suites off 90th and Shea Blvd. This time I chose here and I'm glad I did. Loved everything about this location. Yes, the bed could had been softer but that's just my personal preference. I asked for a quiet location for my room since my son and I have trouble sleeping with lots of noise. The room was on the third floor and extremely quiet. We were told about the breakfast which we loved, including the very attentive staff. The pool was in a central location with easy access. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. there was always someone cleaning something. I will be back to this location.

So my husband decided to surprise me with a birthday get away, and chose the Scottsdale Best Western Plus because we both have been very happy with any best western plus in the past. And he was also trying to find an extra nice place to stay for my birthday. The staff was incredible, the staff is the only reason I gave it two stars. Other then that it fell very flat. My husband upgraded to a suite and thank goodness he did because I can not imagine how bad a regular room would have been. The furniture was very very very uncomfortable (except for the bed it was awesome). There was food left in the fridge from the guest before us, so u know that hasn't been cleaned. My biggest complaint was the bathroom it was so small, once inside u had to sit on the toilet to open and shut the bathroom door. It is just a very outdated hotel. And in no way should be considered a plus, maybe at best a regular best western. The hired a really good photographer to take the hotel photos for the internet because the place no way compared to the photos. So of you are looking for an average place to sleep for the night it is great, anything more go else where. There are so many other beautiful hotels in scottsdale.

Very nice room, very friendly people, better than average breakfast with excellent service, good location, big pool. We had a room on the third floor and I appreciated the elevator. I would consider this place a top of the line BW!

Had a great stay , everyone should try this gem of a hotel! Great pool, great hot tub (lol) Like anyone in AZ wants to get in the hot tub but ME!! Wonderful staff like Tamara , Steve and that wonderful Lori behind the bar. She just compleated the experiance.

Hotel was very clean and inviting, and the staff was very warm and friendly. I felt very safe and very welcome. The shopping area was in walking distance, Scottsdale Quarters and Kierland. The location has office park area near it but is still secluded and quiet. The pool is a nice size. The rooms are non-smoking, however there is a nice smoking area set aside for those who do. Wait until you have breakfast, its the best with choices lots of choices.

Spent 10 nights at BW+ Thunderbird and from checkin through checkout had a great time. Lana and Erica at the desk, Steve, David in the restaurant, Ron the maintenance man, and Lori and John in the bar. Everyone was efficient, courteous and friendly. We didn't want to leave. The local shuttle from the hotel was good. The housekeeping staff alternated daily but all did a good job. Even the other guests were friendly! Will be back again.

Came out to Scottsdale for a conference, every room I looked into was 200 and up! The BW had a nice lay out with a pool in the courtyard, delicious breakfast, and a modern feel to the lobby. Decent sleep and a great location! Only downside, is there is an airport beacon that depending on your room will be shining into your windows.

I honestly have no idea where to start - this place is amazing. It's a great location and the rooms are nice too, all of them are suites with a living area and bedroom. However, what really makes this particular hotel shine is it's staff and how empowered they are to do what it takes to make things perfect for YOU - they treat each guest individually. This is not a cookie cutter experience. This is my second visit, my first time with my daughter (12) - I come for business and she tagged along this time as we have friends in the area. My hubby also flew out later in the week. The location is perfect - close to all the shopping and restaurants you could ever want (if you choose to leave this little gem!) Each morning we went to the complimentary breakfast. Steve was our host - the first day he asked what we wanted to drink. On our second day when we came down he immediately set the table with water for me and my girls favorite juice. The gentleman who cooks makes the salsa from SCRATCH, he even dries the peppers himself. It's amazing. This is just the breakfast people!!! From there each day the complimentary shuttle took me to work - and took me home from work (Mark and Brian were my drivers). My daughter stayed at the hotel. On the first day the shuttle didn't work and we needed to get groceries, Tammy at the front desk actually arranged for a cab for us and reimbursed us for it. By the end of the stay my girl had made friends with everyone there. The lady at the restaurant (Lori is amazing!!!) made her all the shirley temples she could drink and the wonderful cook (Allyn) made her the best lunches, with my approval of course - if you go, try the hamburger, Allyn gives Zinburger a run for their money! The staff at this hotel seems to remain consistent - the locals frequent the restaurant and I've even befriended a couple of them. The woman that worked 3-11 at the front desk, Lauren. She literally took my daughter under her wings. She spent time with her and even taught her pokemon go tricks. I won't go into detail but a situation happened to make my girl feel uncomfortable and literally everyone at this hotel adopted her and made her feel safe and like family. I will NEVER stay anywhere else when I'm in town. Lauren, if you read this...thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a wonderful, kind, and giving person. Lori and Allyn - you both rock and I can't think you enough for also being so kind to us. I can't wait until my next visit to catch up. Ben - keep hiring and empowering your staff like you have been. They really take this best western to the next level. I'll see you again in the fall!

I really enjoyed our stay. Spacious rooms and great service. The room was clean and the hotel was great. I really enjoyed the stay as well as my family. The location is great and not to far off the beaten path. Access to the hotel is easy and is in an area in which getting around to the connecting roadways are near. I was impressed with the staff and the hotel.

Very close to higher end shopping mall and small airport. Very friendly customer service front desk clerk. Two rooms a bedroom and living room were convenient. The bathroom is small, felt crowded, felt claustrophobic. Otherwise, clean rooms, quiet location and good service.

We got stranded in Phoenix while our Acura was being repaired. While there, the guy at the breakfast bar was extremely accommodating and super friendly! He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and even offered to drive us to the Acura Dealership 2 miles away to check on our car. His above and beyond attitude made our bump in the road much more pleasant! Wish that I could remember his name!

Early check-in was very helpful, the room had a seperate bedroom and for the price was very comforting. The pool was nice and lots of restaurants close by to choose a nice dinner from. Thank you Best Western Great Job!!!

I fly in and out of KSDL frequently...this property is right across the street from the Landmark FBO...could not be more convenient...rooms are reasonably priced, clean and spacious. Would not consider any other option.

Booked a two night stay and upon check in guest service clerk did not present the food and beverage voucher which I realized only upon checkout. I emailed the Manager of the property and he did even better, he credited my account with more than the voucher value. Why? Because he values his customers! Lobby area is nice and clean, coffee and tea available, snack/vending next to hotel front desk, hot breakfast available each morning in additional to bagels, muffins, fruit and yogurt. I will definitely let folks know its a perfect location to all Scottsdale attractions at a reasonable price but the customer service was excellent. Let me also add Steve in the breakfast room both mornings could not have been more pleasant or courteous! He is such an asset to the property. He always made guests feel welcome and offered assistance even when we might have needed it but not thought to ask. We enjoyed our stay!

Very friendly staff, clean hotel, had a nice 2 room/2 queen bed suite. A couple of youth soccer teams were at the hotel during our weekend stay, and surprisingly, it was still very quiet. The included breakfast offered a wide variety - eggs, waffles, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, hot & cold cereals, milk, breads, danishes, muffins and a wonderful breakfast staff. There are not enough positive things to say about Steve & his polite attentiveness. Steve was such a pleasure in the morning and kept things full. He really is an asset to this organization. I recommend this hotel.

Nice, comfortable, convenient. Breakfast staff was very accommodating. Pool is nice and located in the center of lodging buildings. Convenient to Scottsdale shopping and about six miles to Old Scottsdale. Located next to Scottsdale exec airport.

We stayed just one night last week but would choose this hotel again. Lobby is spacious and nice. There is a table with coffee and a large dispenser with ice water flavored one day with orange slices and the next with lemon. Very refreshing in the heat. Check in was quick and paper and map of the area available if one want. The room was older and the furniture a little tired but it all appeared very clean. The bathroom was very tiny but I liked that it was contained in a room rather than the sink out in the bedroom portion as some hotel do. Breakfast was included and actually a good surprise. Good variety. Sal working in the breakfast area was friendly and right there to take our plates when we stood up to find a place to put them. Pool area was really nice as well with a large grassy area outside the pool fence. Nicely landscaped.

All rooms are mini-suites, with a living room and a bedroom, separated by the bathroom. A TV is in both the living room and the bedroom. The bathrooms are a little small--design flaw--however I was told there is a plan to alter the door arrangement, thereby allowing more room in the bathroom. The service people were great, except the check-in desk--I experienced an overall tone of indifference.

The entire staff was extremely accommodating, courteous and genuinely eager to please. The rooms have been recently upgraded and mine was spotless! The breakfast in the morning is superb, as is the service! Lauren at the front desk was beyond helpful throughout the weekend. Such a great location, with the best service around!

The hotel is clean and neat. The breakfast buffet is good. The best part is friendliness of the staff. Steve does an exceptional job. He wants customers to come so much so that he asked that I review here on trip advisor.

The Good: The free breakfast and the staff that prepares it and maintains the dining area is what makes this hotel. The food choices are many and the service is excellent. Salvadore knows his way around the kitchen and will even make you something special if you wish. Steve is incredibly attentive to your needs and goes above and beyond in making sure your dining experience is a pleasant one. These guys know your name after one first visit and greet you every day. You will find yourself spending extra time there as you enjoy a leisurely and filling breakfast. And when you go home you will feel as if you are leaving friends behind. Lighting is adequate which is a rarity in most hotels. And they have definitely improved their internet connection as well since my last visit. The Bad: Housekeeping is still a hit or miss operation. While the rooms are clean, they are not always re-stocked completely each day. And they don't follow up to ensure that each room gets cleaned each day. If they miss you on the first round because you had a do not disturb sign up, they don't recheck even after you've taken the sign down. This has happened to me both times I stayed there. And you will have to ask for a refund as they wont offer one first when you call to complain. On a positive note, when they do clean the room, they do a good job.

Stayed 5 nights in this hotel last week and was very impressed with the service. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent. All of the staff was wonderful especially Steve who worked in the restaurant. He was outstanding and couldn't have done enough for my husband and I. Location is good with short drive to attractions and restaurants. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I'm in the Scottsdale area

We had a Wedding in the Family and it was held near the Best Western. The shear convenience was enough to satisfy our needs, but the rooms were clean and roomy. Parking was adequate and close to the rooms we stayed in. Breakfast was very good!

We made two separate two-night stays either side of a trip to northern Arizona (a total of four nights). Our suite comprised a bedroom with a king-size bed and a sitting area with a 3-seater settee, desk and small kitchen area with a fridge and microwave; both rooms had television. Although the furnishings were rather tired-looking, the rooms were comfortable and we did not experience disturbance from the nearby airport. The outdoor pool was uncrowded during the time we were there. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and was included in the price. The staff were friendly and I would like to make a special mention of Steve in the restaurant who did everything in his power to be helpful and friendly.

Lana at the front desk made our stay very good, from fixing messed up reservations to helping making our check out a wonderful experience. She is a huge asset to this property. She took the extra time to make our stay wonderful.

Wonderful breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, chili, fruit, waffles), friendly staff, and above average rooms. We arrived in Scottsdale early, and they even let us check in at 9 AM since they had one clean room ready. No complaints here - would definitely give them my business again!

Double beds are not very comfortable. Maids need to be able to understand english. But...breakfast is great and Steve exceeds all expectations and the location, grounds and overall room are wonderful.

This staff at this hotel were exceptional - friendly and so helpful. The free breakfast was better than paid breakfasts at fancy restaurants. The location was great for kids because of the airport as well as proximity to places along Scottsdale road - this made grocery shopping and going out to eat very easy. I will stay here every time I visit Scottsdale.

This hotel is ideally situated to enjoy all that Scottsdale has to offer. The courtyard with in-ground pool is beautifully landscaped and is perfect for relaxation - and access from your room. The breakfasts are hot, varied, and delicious. We had restful, quiet nights. Plus the staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. I'd highly recommend the Thunderbird Suites!

This hotel is good for those who are early to sleep and early to rise in order to get a good night sleep. Any hotel that is near an airport is going to be noisy with departing planes and the city's helicopters. The hotel is far enough off major thoroughfares in Scottsdale that it is an oasis from all the hectic driving and trying to find your way around.

This hotel, immediately next to the Scottsdale Airport, was comfortable but could use an update. Our two room "suite," for $187 per night included a tv in each room, two fairly comfortable double beds, many pillows, and a decent temperature control system. The included breakfast was ok - not great. We stayed three nights, and the maid service cleaned only one of the three.

The suites were good although the bathroom was tiny. Breakfast in the morning was great and the staff working there was very quick in cleaning up and replacing items. The rooms were a little close to the airport so you did hear some airplane noise.

Great place for family fun in the sun. Close to Westworld, Race Track and local adventures. Nice basic, full breakfast with very friendly staff. Clean suites, older building, nice pool with hot tub. It is located right next to the private airport so there is a bit of private jet noise in the background.

The Thunderbird Suites offers a good basic living room, that has a small kitchenette area coupled with a large bedroom area and a very small bathroom with a tub/shower. It is a very clean well kept facility. The pool has a hot tub and the towels are available all the time beside the pool. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast that starts at 6am. Clean, quiet, very adequate, not a lot of frills but within walking distance of great Scottsdale shopping and restaurants. We would go back.

Room is way smaller than picture and smelly. Bathroom is very small and the shower doesn't have a plastic mat inside, so, it is very slippery. My daughter slipped and fell, so, she got brused up her knees. The sofa sleeper had potato chip crumbs and when I called to ask if they could come to make the sofa, she said no. She said that we had to do it. Perk was friendly workers and breakfast. I wouldn't reccommend this hotel. The price is too high for what it is, very dissapointed.

The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast was really great. For the price I paid, I felt like I got more than my moneys worth. I think the only downside for this place was the location. There is not much to do in the area if you are walking. I think this place is great if you are flying out or into the Airport, but for sightseeing, this is not a sightseeing type hotel. My wife and I were a little disappointed because of the location. Otherwise, it's a really nice hotel.

Very nice! Complimentary breakfast, lounge with inexpensive food and drinks. Clean. Employees very friendly. Our stay was two weeks and we enjoyed the area, ability to walk to many places because we did not have a car.

Took a team of 17 for a soccer tourney and would stay here again without question. Went out their way on all levels to accommodate all the teams that stayed this weekend. Rooms were great for the boys and the families.

Located right by the Scottsdale airport, there was occasional jet and helicopter noise, but it wasn't bad. This is an older property, where the hotel is four banks of rooms arranged in a square around a pool and courtyard. The walkways to the rooms required stairs (at least for most rooms), and were accessible to anyone (not just to hotel guests). With slider windows and doors opening onto the publicly accessible walkways, I didn't feel overly secure (though there were no issues). The room itself was a suite with a reasonable living room and two queen beds in the bedroom. The bathroom was small - the door got in the way of getting in and out of the shower, and it was easy for one knee to touch the vanity/sink side, while the other knee touched the tub/shower. Everything was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was standard low-end hot breakfast (bacon and scrambled eggs in warming trays, some limited fruit, cereal, some muffins and coffee). It was fine, but I preferred to eat elsewhere after the first day. One note. The older air conditioning unit in the room was quite noisy. I just turned it off, but if it were hot out, and you needed the air conditioning, the noise would be substantial, even on low fan speed.

WE were visiting the Scottsdale area for the first time. The free breakfast each day was excellent. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the hotel room was very quiet. The location was near several restaurants, which made eating dinner out very convenient.

The room was a great size since it was a suite. However the hotel was noisy, you could hear a lot of outside noise as well as sound coming from rooms around you. The pool was a pretty good size for kids to play around in. Service was pretty good, no complaints there. The complimentary breakfast was decent but nothing special.

BW Plus in Scottsdale is a nice place to stay, if you are not picky about your comfort. The hotel is not the best kept (bed headboards are splashed, previous guests' items are left in the bathroom, toiletries are not replenished every morning, room service either wakes you up or doesn't come for 2 days), but the proximity to the Kierland area is excellent, and you can easily get there. The proximity to the airport is not a problem, as the nearby workers made more noise than the planes. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful, and the staff overall is very friendly and nice.

I stayed here because of the shuttle service to to barrett jackson and russo and steele. It is across the street from Scottsdales airport which is great if you are flying in general aviation. Great breakfast. Rooms are average but clean. Scottsdale is a pricey area to stay but close to where I wanted to go.

I paid $235/night for this hotel. At this price, I expect an upscale room and some amenities. This hotel did not meet my expectations for the high price paid. This is an older hotel, and I can't understand why it is so highly rated on Tripadvisor. The bathroom is very small and my room had an exceptionally noisy bathroom fan. There is no other mirror in the room that you can use to put on makeup, and there is no makeup mirror. There is a small refrigerator, microwave and sink – but no provided utensils, glasses, or plates. There is a pool area in the middle with a very small “hot” tub (the temperature wasn't that hot). We could not figure out how to turn on the jets. We could find the emergency shut off, but we could never find the “on” switch. The main pool was heated, but not enough for us to swim in January. However, the biggest insult was the towels provided in the pool area. The “towels” were more like dish towels. They were incredibly tiny. One towel didn't come close to wrapping around me - and I'm not fat. The whole pool experience was low budget – not what I expected for a $200/night room. The breakfast was typical Best Western, nothing fancy. The Exercise Room could hold three people, max. It was small. The elevator was in one building and my room was adjacent. The elevator did not line up with my building's floors. So you could take your luggage up to “2” on the elevator, but then you still had to climb up or down ½ floor of steps. The hotel is right against the airport, so it is noisy during the day. The planes didn't seem to fly much at night, thankfully. The bed was comfy and I slept well. The hotel's upside is that you can walk to the new mall area from the hotel – in the daytime. I would not recommend walking at night because the first two blocks are not very well lit and there are several empty buildings. Even if this hotel cut my bill by 50%, I would still say this hotel is not a good value. Next year, I will return to the Hyatt Old Scottsdale where I've stayed many times in the past.

My consulting appointment was last June, and I chose to stay in the Residence Inn Desert View at Mayo Clinic. That place was wonderful. As my surgery approached, the Mayo Clinic had given me a list of several area hotels to check out. I wanted to make an informed decision, knowing I would spend a good amount of time there recovering from major surgery in November. Trip advisor was the first place I looked. I've used TA as a resource for years, and it has never failed me. I saw that many reviews for the Best Western Thunderbird Suites were favorable and they had all the amenities I was looking for, including shuttle service to the Mayo Clinic, less than 5 miles away. The price was better at the Best Western than at the Residence Inn and that of course played a big factor. I should have realized then that it was too good to be true. The pictures on this site also make Thunderbird look far nicer than it actually is. As we checked in at nearly midnight, we were exhausted from our flight and just wanted a soft bed to fall on. We rang the bell at the front desk and out walked a young man. He asked us what floor we'd like to stay on, and I indecisively said "just give us the best option". Clearly we had checked in as a couple, so I was a bit surprised to find we had been sent to a room with two double beds. They weren't big enough for us to both sleep in comfortably, and yet that's exactly what we did. Needless to say we didn't sleep well. I was also surprised to see this is an old school motel with outdoor entries to each room. Not a big fan of that. I must have missed that part in my research. The room entry door was so bad, it did not even reach the ground. Meaning the crack was so big underneath, you could see daylight. Creatures of all kinds could have crawled through there. The bathroom was tiny and I questioned whether I would be able to maneuver myself comfortably in it as a healthy adult, let alone one who is recovering from surgery. The décor was dated and there was a noise factor coming from adjacent warehouses and airport. It just was not comfortable in any way. On a positive note, my boyfriend said he did not mind this place at all since it reminded him of his military barracks. If you're into that kind of accommodation, then this is the place for you.

This Best Wester Plus was in a good location for the conference I was attending (Kierland Westin), Dominic at the front desk was very helpful with any request I had. Good quality for the price and a good experience overall.

With such high reviews, I expected more. This is an older motel that is well managed. For the price point, it is very average. Negatives - It's a motel... must go outside to get to room - Tiny tiny bathroom... did I mention tiny - Very noisy... the walls must be paper thin - Older rooms... low ceilings... noisy A/C Positives + Location... close to nice outdoor shopping + Breakfast... homemade eggs! + Rooms are spacious (except for the low ceilings) Average for the price

Another thing not mentioned in the reviews is that this hotel is not consistent with what you would expect from a Scottsdale address. I had never been to Scottsdale before, so I had no idea how hoity-toity it is. this hotel certainly doesn't fit in to that description. Its near an industrial district, so the airport was very close as were some warehouse type buildings. We hear the noise of helicopters and trucks with back up safety beepers going off at all hours. On a positive note, my boyfriend said he didn't mind it, as it reminded him of military barracks. So if you're into that, this is the place for you! In the morning, we tried the free continental breakfast. as you may have guessed, it was not good. I did eat some Yoplait yogurt. It was sealed in the container and not beyond its expiration, so I felt safe with that. We checked out immediately after breakfast. A lot of money to stay for less than 12 hours, but thankfully Residence Inn Desert View allowed us to check in early at about 8 am. Someone called this a budget hotel, and that I take issue with. I ended up paying the same amount at the better place with my Mayo Clinic discount. Do not waste your money. This place is gross.

Somewhat of an interesting property in that if you do not have a ground floor or the elevator goes to your floor, you need to be able to carry your luggage up and down some stairs. This is really the only downside. The rooms were very nice, clean, and the breakfast was great. Good presentation and the eating area was nice and large. I would stay here again.

This hotel in good location in regards to dining and shopping in area. Rooms very good size, but bathroom very small and tight. Bumped into door and frame several times when using bathroom. Had to squeeze past to close door to use shower. Bed a little too firm for my liking also.

This hotel was chosen for its location, access to restaurants, and easy to drive to. The pillows really helped my sleep as did the bed, but the planes at the airport will wake you up in time for breakfast. The modern amenities and being able to close the door to the bedroom while the other family member watched television made this a contemporary good choice. The safety of the hotel and the general neighborhood was also an important consideration for us and that is why we chose this location.

We were welcomed by happy people. Thank you. We like staying at the BW Plus at Northern and 16th St in Phoenix; however, this location is PRIMO. My Apple store was walking distance and fabulous restaurants there. The hotel employees were really fun to talk to, especially the bartends and chef. We spent a couple of hours in the bar and enjoyed a fine dinner there. This was a slow time just before the holiday rush and your employees were gearing up for the busy season. We really appreciated the hospitality and the breakfast was FANTASTIC with Corned Beef Hash (my husband's favorite dish). Thank you Best Western for having the BEST pillows and bedding too. We will return. You have really great locations in the Phoenix area.
