BW Premier Collection
The hotel (our reservation says "Valle di Assisi Hotel & SPA Resort", but the address and pictures match with this BW Premier Collection!) is on a new building with very comfortable rooms and common spaces. The personnel is attentive and they offer a very good breakfast. Your only problem might be at night: if you plan to eat at their perfectly placed restaurant (with an overwhelming view of their swimming pool and the city of Assis), be sure not to find the same quality of service.
Located a few kilometres drive from Assisi is this pleasant hotel. It offers wonderful views towards the old town of Assisi which is particularly beautiful when lit up at night. Reception staff were formal although some of them bordered on rude. The gentleman who took our reservation was the nicest. We had to request a change of room because we had booked an upper floor room but were given a ground floor one. Thankfully they changed it with a minimum of fuss. Room 230 was a large suite with a big open sitting area, a large bedroom and separate walk in wardrobe, and a big, practical bathroom with double spa bath and double shower. The walls were a bit battered and marked but otherwise the colour scheme was subtle whites and purple / mauve hues. There was a nice private balcony and this offered a delightful view straight up to the old town of Assisi. There were switches to automatically raise and lower the full length window shutters which offered full black out. Alas we could not get the air con to work and a visit to reception produced the age old bug bear of European air con where they only had it on heating until late spring. Hence it is not an independently controlled system. We found breakfast interesting. It did not start until the late hour of 7.30am. Despite this there was rarely a crowd when it opened. The buffet was modest at best and being there for three nights was a stretch. Juice was OJ out of a machine. Hot breakfast was limited to bacon and eggs but the eggs were good. There were buns, cheese and prosciutto, Danishes, and a variety of cakes. We finished with cereals. The coffee machine was a real adventure. It was a complicated machine that required lining your cup up under the correct nozzle and watching it splash milk and water everywhere. For a machine based coffee it was passable. There is an excellent restaurant onsite and a very small bar that we sensed was infrequently used. The foyer area was large and airy with a variety of busts and decorative furniture which made for a nice stroll but felt like a waste of space. Overall a good hotel if you are after a quiet option still within close proximity to Assisi.
We chose well here. Lovely property, just out of Santa Maria degli Angeli, another quaint town not far from Assisi. Lots of space, open foyer area, pleasant helpful staff, clean and spacious room. Easy drive to Assisi and very reasonably priced, in fact really great value for what you get.
This hotel sits outside Santa Maria degli Angeli amongst the fields. Not impressive from the outside, it is a modern dazzler inside. We reached our ground floor hallway through a large glass door set to open as we approached, along with illuminating the hallway lights. Our room was sizable, comfortable, modern and had a generous balcony. There is a golf course for grown-ups, a swimming pool for everyone and a superb restaurant with a view towards Assisi. If you're looking for a home base in Umbria that's away from the crowds, look no farther.
Some years ago we explored the beauty of this place in the nature, near to Assisi. In September we enjoyed again 3 nights here. It was lovely !The room was very good, with view on olive trees. The breakfast room is also offers fantastic panorama, beyond the good selection of food...The staff is professional and very kind. Thanks again!
Wonderful resort with golf ample external space and large swimming pool. Not completely satisfied of the restaurant. Also I would suggest a second towel in the room especially during summer months. Another issue is working space which is not business friendly. Chair inadequate to sit and work at the computer. All in all lovely inspirational location for a quality relaxing stay near Perugia in Assisi.
We loved this hotel and didn't want to leave! We had a deluxe room which is large and newly built with ultra modern light switches, lovely rain shower, nice size balcony, etc. The breakfast is very good with a lot of bio products and the wifi is very fast. The property has many things to do such as a luxurious spa, free bicycle riding, archery, and a fountain that changes colors at night. BTW, from what I saw this hotel is extremely child friendly, with toys in the huuuuuge lobby and activities just for them. This place is in a great location to see the area, and we will be back!
We recently enjoyed four nights at Valle di Assisi. Our accommodations very nice and our room had a lovely patio looking out to the city of Assisi. Amazing view during the day and evening. Accommodations were very comfortable and the bathroom tub was so nice and relaxing after long journeys each day. This location has easy access to the town of Assisi. The staff was pleasant and very helpful and Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those that are not looking for the typical American hotel. We would definitely return and enjoy the same accommodations.
My husband and I visited this place using a smartbox and at the beginning we were pleasantly surprised: the room was big, modern and super clean , which for me is one of the most important things and that's why my score is so high. Let's talk about the negatives now: during our stay they had an hydraulic problem and the second day we were there the water was running yellow. I called the reception around 3:00pm to let them know and they said that they were trying to fix it and everything should have been ok in one hour. I kept checking the water and until around 6:00pm and it kept getting worst, now it was yellow and it had a nauseating stench of chemicals. At that point I called the reception again to let them know and they said to me that I could have used the spa showers if I needed be but I didn't want to because I like my privacy and I didn't want to go around the hotel in just a towel, so I decided to wait a little longer. I called them again once or twice and asked them if it was possible to move to another room but there was none available ( the hotel didn't look that full, but ok), so we decided to go out for dinner hoping the they would fix the problem while we were out. We went back around 9:00pm and finally the water wasn't stinking like chemicals anymore. The next morning, when we checked out, they asked me if I used the the in-room bar service. I said that I did but after all the inconveniences we had I wasn't willing to pay for it and the girl at the desk said that it wasn't their intention to make us pay but she was just asking about it ( a bit weird, just tell me straight away that I won't be charged for it, so i won't look silly asking for free stuff!). She also told me that they we sorry for what happened and it was the first time they had such a problem, but I know from other reviews that it isn't true, they encountered that same problem before. I don't know why she lied to me, there wasn't any need for it. They gave us a bag of chickpeas for free, I guess as a further apology. Overall the desk and breakfast staff was nice and the hotel was very nice as well but I feel really generous to give them 4 stars after what happened.
My honey and I enjoyed two nights at Valle di Assisi Hotel in Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi, Italy in suite #230. This is a high tech hotel with electronic everything from lights to the locks on the doors. Once we figured out how to drive our room it was lots of fun. The two person spa in the bathroom was special because the front was clear plastic. The king bed was the best we had during our 12 day road trip in Italy. Seems like the Italians like hard beds and this one was a bit softer and provided for a good night's sleep. This establishment is part of Best Western's Prestige collections of hotels. It is located in the valley about ten minutes from the town of Assisi. The best part was the night view from our room of the lights of Assisi. Not staying in Assisi allowed us to wonder around the communities in the area. Parking, breakfast, and quick WiFi was included in the rate. The suite was very generous in space with a separate living room and bedroom. The staff was friendly and did their best to make our stay enjoyable.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last Saturday night as it's very close to Perugia Airport where we flying from on Sunday morning. It's a lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Check in was swift and the room was lovely and bright and spacious. Unfortunately the walls seem to be made from cardboard though as everything was fine until our neighbours returned to their room at around 1am. We could then hear everything and I mean everything they did until I eventually had enough and rang down to reception to ask them to tell them to be quiet, which the guy on reception did as I heard the phone ringing next door! There were doors banging all night and people walking up and down the corridors which are tiled and very noisy. When asked the following morning when checking out was everything ok I said no that we had hardly slept so I was given a discount on our room rate of €140 and ended up paying €126. Apparently your nights sleep is worth €14!! Oh but we were given a bag of chickpeas which are grown on the property so that should make everything alright! All I can say is it is a lovely hotel but is sadly lacking insulation so if a good nights sleep is important to you DO NOT stay here. We plan on returning to the area in the near future but will be looking for another hotel.
Excellent Hotel. Beautiful grounds. We stayed three night and used this as a hub to visit the local area and a couple cities in the area. Dinner the third night was wonderful. The restaurant was fantastic and made excellent recommendations. The hotel lobby was beautiful and the reading room area very nice. Wonderful location for sight seeing in Assisi, Citti Di Castello, and Cascia. Highly recommend. We will go there again when in Assisi.
We only stayed one night but I would recommend this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. The breakfast buffet was very nice also. I did not experience the thin walls that some reported. The hotel is a little out from the town of Assisi but I would stay there again if I am ever in the area.
Nice hotel with charming interior in quiet surroundings. The room was nice and spacious, but the walls between the rooms are so thin that you can hear the neighbours talking next door. Breakfast was excellent.
We stayed in a nice flat in one of farmhouses of the estate. Full marks to the personnel, very helpful and kind. However, my one reservation is that it's not a four-star hotel, but rather a three star one. Good level restaurant and ample choice for breakfast. Ten minutes drive from Assisi.
We recently spent 3 nights at Valle di Assisi and I was curious to check out the wide varieties of reviews that I had read----with some trepidation. The Good: Firstly it's a lovely hotel with great staff--everyone was great from the maitre'd at the restaurant to the lady who cleaned our room. They seemed to be well trained and naturally friendly people also. The spa is WOW---I've been to some pretty good spas (including one listed in the best 100 in the world) and this one beat them all. I have no words to describe the atmosphere, the design, the workability of everything for this spa except to say it is a work of art that perhaps only the Italians can do. If you stay there you can use it for 2 hours for 20 Euro which I did. The food was excellent....great service....great view to Assisi beyond the pool with the lights in the evening. It was not the best restaurant we have been to in Italy but it wasn't far off and so we ate there on 2 of the nights. The bikes are run down and some have flat tires but there are some good ones and you can ride around the large vineyard for quite awhile and we really enjoyed this. The pool is beautiful but when the cold weather hit us the pool became too cold to swim. The bad: Well it wasn't THAT bad really but I can understand where other reviewers are coming from..... Wi Fi--it was there but very weak and many people we spoke to were having problems communicating. with the world or work. The best place is out in the lobby but even there some people had problems hooking onto common web sites. I used by 4 G packet date which I bought in Australia and it was much better. I don't understand why good hotels can't achieve this minimal speed. Perhaps there is a good reason but we're not to know. Mr./Ms. Manager if you are reading this and it's within the budget you might want to consider upgrading your wi fi because others have done so and also we noted your lovely staff were being hit with the same complaint over and over again to the point where I felt a little sad for them. Noise--We were in room 103 at the end of a corridor because I had asked for a quiet room after reading the reviews. OK it was a bit noisy but the clientele when we were there were mostly over 50 years old so by 10 it was quiet. The problem is that the hotel is truly beautiful with the Italian tiled floor, vast open internal spaces with beautifully designs stonework, ceilings, tiling etc and the acoustics are similar to in a church where the noise bounces around the entire property. From our room down the corridor we could hear what people were saying in the evening who were well outside our corridor and around the corner. But it would be criminal to carpet the place for starters so I can only say that if you like beautiful Italian hotels then you have to allow for some noise. I bought ear plugs but never used them so it wasn't that bad. If you had a lot of party animals on the weekend then yes you would have a problem....so if noise worries you I suggest you bring those soft ear plugs just in case. We would stay at Valle di Assisi again especially if they upgrade their internet wireless.
I reserved two day three guest room. The room was large. I didn't find the third bed and the coffee-the kit, just a call the reception and in few minutes they resolve the issue. The place is wonderful and easy/fast to reach Assisi, Perugia etc... The breakfast is high level and the swimming pool is nice. Only not 5 stars T.A. rank is the restaurant good (3 stars T.A.) but .. our expectation were high based on the local cooking tradition. You can find also a soccer field, golf and spa. We didn't have any spa...next we'll try it. So we can say .. try it.
Great week with family in this resort, country side, but a stone-throw distance from Santa Maria degli Angeli and Assisi and close to the highway exit. Spacious and comfortable rooms, attentive and smiling service, spa and swimming pool available, large park full of green and fresh air to breath, cellar with vinery and good restaurant also serving sumptuous buffet breakfast. Lot of initiatives for guests. Excellent spot for a great rest without any possibility to get bored. Not inexpensive but good price for value. Moreover, cost of extras is quite cheap for the level of property: hence you won't have bad surprises while settling your final folio.
The hotel is set in the valley below the city of Assisi in a resort where they have their own olive oil and wine production. The hotel restaurant is really good and offers a spectacular view on the city of Assisi. The selection of food is really top quality. The trout with truffles is an absolute must. The grilled steak is very nicely done as well. Also the breakfast buffet offers plenty to choose from, no complaints what so ever. The pool is beautifully set in the olive tree garden and you look up to the city of Assisi. It is a great spot to relax after a day of tripping around in Umbria. It's a pity there is no pool bar to get a refreshment or a snack. The rooms we had are ultimately the reason for the average score. Perhaps we were in the oldest part of the hotel but it looks like it needs an update. There were no power sockets next to the bed or at the large desk opposite the bed. One bedside lamp was broken, actually it was missing. Charging cell phones therefore might be a bit challenging as it leaves your gear in the floor. The bathroom had a bath tub with a shower, but when you take a shower you turn the bathroom into a swimming pool. The most irritating thing about the room was the noise. We were on the ground floor and when people upstairs flush their toilet, the sound of the water rushing down is just too loud. This is really very poor building/plumbing design in these days. Waking up at 5 am due to the upstairs neighbour's full bladder isn't really very pleasant. The safe in the room is really tiny and is operated by a classic key... The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Just a pity that we probably got the worst rooms left. We asked to change but to no avail.
We rented a beautiful summer house for two weeks through Renate's Villas. The house was connected to the Best Western Valle Di Assisi. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very peaceful surroundings. Beautiful house with private pool. We loved every minute of our vacation here.
I had a breathtaking expierence andbthis well appointed resort. 70 glorious acres with a vineyard, olive groves, chick pea fields. Two pools, excellent chef. Tennis courts, football fields and bikes to explore with. I couldn't have asked for more, except maybe a longer time frame so I would have enjoyed it more! Bravo this is an excellent place!
We contacted the resort by email and got an advertised deal on their website. This was one night of our honeymoon, on our way to Rome. We wanted a relaxing recharging experience and boy did we get one. When we arrived they had a gift for us. An upgrade to a suite! Book the suite anyway, it's worth every penny. We then spent an hour and a half, privately, in a beautiful and clean spa that has all the amenities. We then got changed for a fine dining experience which had many flavours and textures I wanted to try in Italy. I would recommend this place and wished I could have stayed longer.
Hotels can be hit and miss in Italy. But this hotel is absolutely lovely. You will need to drive as it isn't directly in assisi but this is a great advantage as the views driving around are amazing. Very clean, friendly staff and helpful reservation team. Would recommend without any hesitation!
This Hotel in in a lovely location, you feel like you in the middle of the country side. The Staff were so Helpful and could not do enough for you, from check in to check out, including the restaurant staff, The price was not expensive at all and included breakfast. The restaurant over looks the City of Assisi. Unfortunately we could only stayed one night and could not make use of the Spa facilities. the room was great, clean and tidy and very Quiet... Had a fantastic night sleep. The food in the restaurant was not to overly priced and tasty, if you like meat, I recommend the mix grille.. perfect portion and can be shared with another person. Indoor and out door pool. would love to go back to this hotel
LOCATION - its about 10 minutes to the train station which cost €14 in a taxi. Unless you have a car I don't recommend that you stay here. We had a 2 bedroom unit which was 800m from reception on a dirt road, thankfully the reception staff 'had time' to drop us at the unit. The unit was quite large with up and downstairs. The unit was spacious, the bathroom had very hot water and a good size shower. Linens were not changed in our 3 night stay. Cooling was working at this time but not the heating which wasn't needed. There was a restaurant or function next door one night which we didn't know about and was fairly loud. Wifi was very good. STAFF - 1 had very good English and the other was ok. Seemed a bit of a task to drop us into town when we were leaving even though we asked the night before. AMENITIES - the unit was self contained although didn't have a jug or toaster. There were tennis courts, soccer fields, swimming pool and golf course at the resort. A cup of black tea was €3.
The hotel is just wonderful. It is in a great location to visit the Perugia & Assisi areas. The hotel is modern and rooms spotless and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and has a great selection and assortment of foods. Unfortunately I didn't get their names, but the front desk receptionist and our housekeeper were friendly, knowledgeable & helpful with anything we needed. Overall, this hotel is an excellent value for the price and highly recommended.
Really modern hotel with great amenities. All staff that I had contact with were extremely helpful and kind. As soon as we arrived we got a free room upgrade which was a nice surprise. Rooms were comfortable and modern. Great choice offered at the breakfast, however salads/vegetables are missing which was a bit strange. Wifi service requires attention, most of our devices had problems with connectivity.
Attended business meeting over several days out of season. Very good conference facilities, conference rooms of all sizes. A great view of Assisi from the restaurant. Food excellent and in March not to pricey. There is also a Spa centre and small gym in the hotel. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. It is easy to drive to and lots of parking space. The nearest bar or restaurant I could find outside the hotel is about half a mile away.
This Best Western Hotel is truly fantastic. Located down the road in a straight line from the historic town of Assisi, it is the perfect choice to use as a base. Easy access, free parking and Wifi all through the hotel. Very clean rooms, go for the upgrade to deluxe double, very helpful staff always available at the desk, and a wonderful Chef. The breakfast will satisfy anyone and certainly prepare you for a day of touring while drinking tea or coffe and gazing at the stone buildings of Assisi and the Basilica through the panoramic windows. A magnificent view especially at night from the Restaurant where the Chef prepares a menu that is exquisite, affordable and with a truly exceptional wine cellar. After walking in the footsteps of Saint Francis, sign up for a Spa sessions, 2 hours for only 35 euros of pool, hot tub, sauna, ice, steam room and the rest. Just bring your swimming costume and they supply the rest for you. There is also a small gym. All really clean. We had a wonderfully relaxing massage afterwards, that was a real treat to end our 3-day stay. A true Mind-Body and Soul trip to Assisi and something to do every year.
Very spacious, good rooms with everything you need and more. Great views of Assisi from the Restaurants. Very quiet this time of year but imagine quite busy in the summer. All amenities very good as was food and service. Never had an issue finding English fluent staff. Love to digital room/air con controls ??
We have been in this hotel many times for various function; wedding, christening, birthdays, and for normal dinner in the restaurant. The food is always excellent, the staffs are always very nice and friendly, beautiful place with a beautiful view to Assisi. Last Sunday my husband and I decided to leave the children at home to spend a good afternoon relax in their spa, we achieved our goals! We loved the place. The Turkish Steam Bath is the best with a wonderful herbs fragrance, the cold and warm shower is very refreshing, in between the saunas session we sink into a lounge chair to relax and breathe in the salt air the their salt room. wonderful... surely we will be back for more!
Found the property really nice, not your normal Best Western at all based in the USA. The room I had was clean and very large and had all the amenities one would want in a room. Had dinner in the hotel and the food was very good and the service excellent and friendly. The property is very large with apartments available and wedding & meeting places out from the main building. If you are looking to stay longer, you may want to see about the apartments. They also produce wine and I ordered a bottle and it is worth trying and buying. The place is located outside of Assisi, so you need a car, but there is plenty of free parking. The owner of the hotel is normally around the property, so if there is any problem, it should be taken care of fast and to your liking.
I chose this hotel because my wife does not do well on hills. This seemed to be a good solution to the problem. It is flat here but the staff does not understand English very well. I tried to find out about an English Mass (it is Assisi after all). This seemed to be a very unusual request to which there was no answer. A dinner suggestion resulted in the names of two restaurants that do not exist on Google maps. And the hotel is really out in the countryside. A request for ice resulted in a cereal bowl sized bowl with 8 cubes in ti. The hotel itself is very nice, modern and very "green" (blacked out hallways until the motion detector sees you). There is no English Mass in the valley - the English mass is up the hill in Assisi at 9 AM on Sunday. And getting the basilica up the hill is no treat: Google maps and Apple maps were useless in getting us there. It took us several hours and many false turns to get to the basilica. I strongly suggest that if you can, book the hotel up on the hill or take a tour, as parking and driving in Assisi is pretty difficult. I didn't have this choice and it was my fault for not understanding the distances and difficulty in getting to Assisi from the valley. However, the hotel was really not helpful in sorting this out.
Tried other Best Western but this one (possibly because they put me in the old building judging from other reviews) was disappointing. The good first: Breakfast, room size, wifi and reasonable room charge. The not so good: Sound proof was horrible from upstairs above, next doors and from the corridor. You can clearly hear other people when they use their bathrooms and their walking. The room was quite dark in the night and may be just brighter lighting could easily fix. Mine was only an overnight stay so we didn't ask for a room change. But will consider other hotels in our next visit to Assisi.
This is a beautiful modern hotel. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived after the restaurant closed for lunch, yet the chef graciously made us a antipasto plate, while we enjoyed a delicious glass of local wine. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars, is the location. It's quite an expensive cab ride to and from the historical center of Assisi. It would be nice if the hotel could provide a shuttle service.
Very modern, eye appealing place to stay in Assisi. Although you might be surrounded by ancient buildings, monasteries, and churches in Assisi you'll love the modern twist of this hotel from the reception and foyer to the key pad entrance to your room. Pool is large and very nice. We only had breakfast there but the food was okay to say it was your typical Italian-style continental buffet. I didn't give it a "5" because they appeared to still be under construction so the area seemed unfinished and the tractor plowing the grounds around the pool while we were swimming was a bit annoying. Other than that the staff was wonderful and very accommodating... We are a picky family so that probably says a lot! :) If you are looking for a great place to eat while you're in Assisi, look up Ristorante Valerie! Ciao!
When arriving after a long trip, our first impression of the hotel was not very enthousiastic: located just besides an industrial zone, works going on on the domain of the hotel with material laying around. The reception was correct, but not very warm. After this first impression however, things only went better. The breakfast was very good and complete (however there was no variety at all). The restaurant is very good both for adults and kids! Very nice pool (that was not crowded at all). Our kids had a great time. The rooms were as promised and very well aircondintioned! The location of the hotel is very central in the region with very easy access to the high way, which allows you to visit all of Umbria without spending hours in your car. Spello, Lago Trasimeno, Assisi, Perugia are must-see's. The main item we will remember from this trip however is the first class treatment we received from the staff, with special thanks to Allessandra, Valentina, Julio and Constantino! Together with their colleagues, they really made you feel at home and the did their very best to let us enjoy our stay. We had a great stay thanks to the very nice trips and restaurants advised (and sometimes even arranged) by Allessandra, the outstanding treatment by Valentina, Julio and Constantino in the restaurant (with special attention to the birthday of my wife and evening drinks at the pool!) First class staff!! Thanks!
I was a bit worried on how charming could a big complex like this be, especially after wandering in beautiful Assisi for most of the day... But it's actually a very nice place to stay! The staff if so lovely and helpful. The room was small but very comfortable! The great strengths of this hotel are it's location (fantastic scenery of Assisi in the distance) and the very good restaurant! The food is simple yet delicious and you get to eat admiring the beautiful vue in the sunset ! The staff in the restaurant was equally lovely ! We tried to spa and it's totally worth the expense with sauna, Mediterranean bath, steam room, aroma therapy showers, etc ... The only little downside was the outdoor swimming pool that was quite dirty and thus not very attractive to go for a swim... But apart from that I would absolutely recommend it!
