"BLOOD EVERYWHERE"

The scariest night of my life. Do not leave any valuables in your car. There was blood all over the place; we have no idea what happened. People stand by your car drinking all night. Breakfast was great though.

Hello Rachel, I am well aware of the situation you are talking about, My chief engineer was working on the stain which appeared to be blood on the side door push bar, he went to clean it with a water & disinfectant solution, but the stain did not come off, he then determined is was silicone from one of our construction workers who we accommodate throughout the week at our property, the stain was only removed by a silicone remover. My chief engineer also stated upon walking out the side door he noticed that the same worker, who was departing from the hotel, dropped a ketchup bottle. I also spoke with the guest the same morning and he informed me that he had in fact dropped a broken ketchup bottle. However, I want to apologize if you feel we did not meet your expectations, but I'm pleased you decided after the bad experience you encountered, you were able to enjoy our amazing free full hot breakfast. "Clean & Comfortable"

I have stayed here probably five times in the last year and each stay is clean & comfortable. The breakfast varies day to day, has an amazing selection & is always hot & fresh (thanks Wes). The pool was clean & pool towels are provided. There is even a washer/dryer on the second floor if you need. They have pet friendly rooms for a very reasonable rate (reserve these early bc they do book out). The Mexican restaurant across the street is reasonably priced & fast! Love this place!

"Not very good!"

I don't usually write reviews but I must post this one. The room was dirty and we observed ants on the night stand and around the air conditioner. The refrigerator did not get cold enough to cool our water. We bought ice cream and put it in the small freezer and it totally melted. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Dirty carpet"

Was looking for a less pricey hotel near the airport. There were sunflower seeds on the carpet near the beds when we walked in. Looks like the maid forgot to vacuum the area. However breakfast was good with variety of hot and cold items. Also someone had vomit in the elevator area, but the elevator floor and elevator buttons were still not completely wiped clean.

"Stay Away, Far Away"

Made the mistake of staying here due to a very early morning flight. This mistake will not happen again. The hotel interior was extremely dirty. The common area was horrible, in disrepair and requires extreme attention throughout. The light switches, the outlets, and refrigerator were all non operational in the room. The water barely ran in the shower, The water was very cool. The light was very dim in the bathroom. The elevator was very slow and needs to be careful since it lurches between levels. The hotel used to have a restaurant, but it has seen it best days that are behind them.

"Older property with an excellent location but not maintained to basic Best Western standards."

We are long time members of BW Rewards and try to stay at the brand when on road trips. This property was a big disappointment. We were given a room on the airport/sun side of the building. When we walked in the window unit was wailing away trying to cool the small room. The desk called maintence and wanted us to wait while he attempted to fix what was obviously an ancient AC unit. After speaking with him, the front desk and the quality control housekeeper, we finally were put into an acceptable room. Price $119 for one night. I used a $100 Rewards Voucher & feel cheated.

"Great hotel for the money"

The staff at check-in were friendly and the room was nice. The one exception would be the beds which were a bit older and springy. They had more tv channels than any other hotel I've stayed in and an excellent breakfast with a lot of good options.

"Near to the airport"

Best Western is close to the airport. We stayed 1 night before an early flight. It was easy in and east out. Perfectly suited to our need to have a place to stay that was clean, comfortable and close to the airport.

The check in staff was amazing, the hotel was clean. Our room was just the right size for myself and 14 year old daughter. Loved the amenities of the shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. The breakfast was just the right size for us. Easy check all. Great stay and will stay again.

I was very impressed with Best Western Plus Richmond Airport. When I travel to Richmond and stay on the East end, this is my preferred hotel to stay in. It's a nice hotel that doesn't break the bank. The staff is great and very accommodating and I was very impressed with the breakfast bar.

"Think 1970s cheap motel"

I have stayed at Best Western Plus in other cities, so I was confident in booking at this hotel. I was shocked at how tiny the room is. Two small beds (not even the size of a double bed), hard mattresses, so thin that I could grip the mattress between my thumb and pinkie (and I'm a woman with small hands). The room is so narrow, there isn't room to walk between the desk chair and the bed. The chair had to be rolled out of the way to walk to the closet or air conditioner. There are no drawers for clothes, because there's no room to put something with drawers. DID I MENTIONED THE FLOOR ISN'T CARPETED???? REALLY?? Walking on linoleum in a room that should have carpet is awful!! I will never again stay in a Best Western Hotel. All this for $101!!!!!

"Decor and Staff do not match the cost"

I was really disappointed with my stay. I was not expecting a 4 star resort, however I was expecting a few steps up from your typical motel. The room was tiny, the carpet was brown and gold striped and made the room appear to close in on me. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, and the staff was less than friendly.

We stayed in a newly renovated room. The only problem is the bed was so hard. I thought all the beds were like this so I didn't request a different room. The room was very clean. I will stay at this hotel again I will just ask for a room with a softer mattress

I was more than pleased with everything. I arrived late on a Saturday night with no reservation, the clerk gave me a great rate, and a perfectly nice room. It was clean and comfortable. The riff-raff motel next door of infamy has been demolished and is being replaced with a larger structure; didn't spot anything shady here. You're in the middle of a business district, with lots of dining and shopping options nearby for whatever you need. Glad I chose this place!

"Friday 16 March overnight stay"

Reception staff was nice and welcoming. he gave me a temporary toothbrush and toothpaste. Room was clean and didn't have a smell. Breakfast had a wide range of assortments: waffles, pancake, fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, juices, coffee, etc. Overall, not a bad hotel. will stay again.

"Being Renovated"

The waffles were great. The rest, not so much. We had the unfortunate luck of getting a downstairs room close to the front desk. It was late when we checked in, so we weren't thinking about the noise that would happen at breakfast. Bad on us. When we pulled out the couch bed, we found urine stains. When we asked the front desk to be moved they said there was nothing they could do. Bad on them. So our son shared a bed with us. The mattress was extremely springy and uncomfortable. The draft in the hall caused the door to rattle in the door jam all night (like a cabinet being slammed closed), so I ended up shoving a towel in the jam to make it stop. I would not recommend staying here. At least not until their renovations are completed. I wish we had this info when we booked for the location and price. We would have stayed somewhere else.

"My weekend stay."

The hotel is very clean. The staff was nice enough. The mattress was way too hard. I didn't sleep well at all. Breakfast was adequate. I will probably stay here again once I found out if they have gotten softer mattresses.

"Clean, comfortable, convenient"

This property is conveniently close to the international airport and is probably the best choice in the area. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. I got a really good night's sleep. The bathroom was adequate, linens were above average as were the toilitries (in dispensers near the sink and in the shower). In addition, there is a breakfast buffet, featuring cold and hot food, available beginning at 6 a.m. The coffee was not the best, but there is also a coffeemaker in the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would rate this property somewhat higher than average, but not really "very good." I would recommend it easily for one or two nights business or tourist travel.

"Nice place"

I got stranded overnight in Richmond Virginia when my air flight was cancelled and I called this BW and they had someone come pick me up at airport and then took me through a drive thru for fast food as every was already closed at airport. The room was very clean and quiet and the entire hotel was clean and breakfast next morning was very good.

"Very good last minute stay."

King size bed was comfortable, room darkening curtains helped with sleeping, good climate control, everything was clean and pleasant. No odors or stains noted. Did not try WiFi. Ground floor room was very quiet. Nice breakfast with pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, the usual cereals, bagels, pastries, etc. Was a good value added to the room.

"Friendly staff, old facility"

The staffs were very friendly and helpful. However, the facility was out dated and bathroom door knob was broken. I could hear sex sound from the next room. I was satisfied with free breakfast and internet.

"Consider Another Hotel"

The only redeeming quality about this hotel is that it is close to the airport. I assume that is why they have airport hotel in their name. They advertise that that they have an airport shuttle service. Unfortunately, it stops running at 12:30. We were stuck at the airport in a snow storm trying to get a taxi or Uber, while watching other hotel shuttles drive by. When I called the hotel (as instructed), I got an almost incoherent receptionist that rudely says “the shutle stps runing at 12:30” and hangs up. When I originally booked the room, I believe I spoke to the same person regarding their park and fly policy. What I got on the phone was “you hve to ordr it on the webste” and hung up. When I checked into our room on the first night before flying out, we had a very nice and helpful receptionist. The hotel rooms are minimal and small, and typical of the chain. There is a refrigerator. Breakfast is Ok with typical make it yourself waffles and other items. Check prices from multiple sources as they are all over the place. Our first night was subtaintially less than our second night. I would probably stay again if it were not for their rude receptionist on the phone and limited shuttle service. Shop around at the other local hotels.

However that does not justify our front desk clerk responding to you in a rude incoherent manner, and not giving you the correct information regarding our Park & Fly program, rest assured that will be handled accordingly. My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel. It was very easy to get on and off 295. The breakfast was good, rooms were clean and the Internet worked fine. We would definitely stay there again.

"Great staff. Bad experience."

I was not given notice that renovations were taking place when reserving the room and that I would be required to endure power tools waking me up. Maid service carts blocked corridor, hindering entry/exit. Poor design/location of laundry/maid service office. Non-smoking room was found to smell strongly of stale smoke upon entering. Tub faucet needed maintenance. Lever for shower on faucet had to be positioned multiple times until I could get a useful shower stream. Key-card reader on door functioned properly roughly one out of thirty times. Sidewalk was covered in ice. No sand nor salt had been set out.

We tend to use Best Western the most when we travel and have to say, this location is one of the best we have stayed at. It starts with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. From check in to check out, every staff member is courteous and greets you with a smile. The building itself I believe has been remodeled, and we had a room with a king bed, sofa, and sitting area, very nice! Hotel is green minded and I appreciated them using Paya products coming from dispensers for usage of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There is so much waste when using individual bottles of shampoo or bars of soap. Rooms are quiet, and airport is literally a 5 minute drive away. There are many restaurants, a Target, Home Depot, etc. located close by as well. Breakfast is the standard fare; waffles, oatmeal, fruit, but they also included a turkey sausage which was excellent. There is also a nice business center with three computer terminals. All in all, this is a well managed hotel and was a very good stay!!

I had a cheaper reservation at a higher-star hotel, but canceled it in favor of this hotel because of the ratings and customer comments I read on Trip Advisor. I'm glad I did. The Best Western Plus RIC was very comfortable, had a very friendly and helpful staff, and was very reasonably priced. It's in a very good location (close to the airport, close to shops and restaurants). Check in was a breeze—they didn't bat an eye when I showed up early and they had my room available.

Jewel greeted me with a smile-a smile means a friendly staff-making check-in quick & smooth. Room # 127. One comfortable king bed. Writing desk & swivel chair. Flat screen atop three drawer chest. Micro/fridge. Two night stands. Bathroom: Shower/tub. Tub has a vertical safety bar on wall. No bottles of shampoo, lotion or conditioner, instead dispenses for each. Plenty of towels. Hair dryer with folding handle, which is difficult to refold. I used my own dryer. Dryer is located in a bag behind the bathroom's door. Sink area very small, with a wall mounted 6X20" glass shelf. Bathroom is also small. With only one bed, room for a small couch. Folding closet doors. Iron & board. Eight wooden hangers. Room & bath area very clean. A/C unit is easily reset. Breakfast: Hours 6:00-10:00. Steamers for scrambled eggs,, sausage patties, gravy & biscuits, bacon, fried eggs, two waffle makers, Make Your Own Pancakes- very good & tasty- oatmeal, hash browns, slices of round ham. Pasties, bagels, bread, English Muffins, blueberry muffins,. Four dry cereals. Orange, cranberry & apple juices. Flat screen for morning news. Seating is six table-4 chairs each-two separate counter with a total of 16 tall stools. Two children's high chairs. A woman-Sherry- and man were constantly wiping down tables & restocking items. Plenty of parking, with pool. Guest laundry on second & fourth floors. $2.25 wash, $2.00 dry. Large lobby with step down seating of several chairs, small & large couches. A short to the business center with three guest computers. Main nearby eateries: Arb'y-2 minute walk-Mexico Mexican & Roberto Italian Restaurants-both excellent- Waffle House, McDonalds & Ma & Pa diner. A set of two automatic sliding doors greet a guest, with three luggage carts between the doors. I want to thank the following staff: Jewel, Asja, G.M Mr. Brown, Darcelle & Sherry. The facility was picked for the location being on the south side of Richmond closest to the battlefields are northeast to south. This was my third stay, first two were just over night. Neighborhood is quiet, with traffic on Williamsburg well controlled to speeding vehicles. The only drawback is the small bathroom, the second stay bathroom was good size. If a fourth stay is in the future, will ask for a room with a larger bathroom. A stay is recommended.

We were just there for the night. I originally booked the hotel for two nights but ended up only needing it for one but needed to check in early. They were able to accommodate my change in reservation, granted the room was directly next to the check in desk and was very loud. The free breakfast was definitely a bonus. The room was clean and just fine if you only need to be in the room to sleep.

Hotel desk clerk very friendly, check was smooth !Rooms nicely decorated, very clean. Bedding cover needed pressing. Coffee hot all day. Breakfast hostess kept up with everything. Oatmeal great ! Mostly fast food near hotel, we went exploring and found a great Italian eatery ROBERTOS Food Fab with affordable prices Head to Richmond for a week or weekend so many things to do.

They just let anyone walk by the front desk without asking their business or even calling the guest first. I had to leave early so unable to approach the manager about what took place but I figured possible customers would want to know before booking how they handle guest safety and security.

BW is close to the Richmond Airport which is great for an early morning flight. The hot breakfast that is provided is excellent. The variety of food available is almost like eating in a restaurant. Our first night stay was challenging because the shower/tub drain in the room just would not keep up with the water flow so we stood in water. Our next visit to this BW was just fine except the printer in the business center would not work. The young lady at the front desk did print out our tickets for us. BW is priced right for a small business traveler.

Located just off the main highway near many fast food and other restaurants as well as close to a grocery store. We were just stopping through so its a good location off the highway. The hot breakfast is a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and I felt safe in the area.

We traveled around Virginia for 10 days and found this BW to have friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms, excellent free breakfast, and a super airport shuttle service. Slow internet hook up in room. Walking distance to good restaurants though sidewalks are limited. Close to large shopping mall. Three computer stations in business room. Excellent value. 5 mins to airport.

I try to stay here whenever I am returning home from Virginia and have always had good service and a good nights rest. The shuttle to the airport has always been prompt and there are some items on the breakfast bar for those that have to leave before the regular breakfast begins. That is a nice addition when you have to leave at 4:30am. Checkin and checkout have gone very efficiently and have had no problems at any stay.

My mistake,booking for two nights.Morning buffet breakfast, a joke. Artificial scrambled eggs,some kind of simulated sausage patty,potatos and old bread to toast.The rooms are not furnished with Drawers(clothes storage) for even one person! My wife and I had to get our room keys reactivated after the first day.Not three star level!

We do not serve anything that is artificial. My staff scrambles eggs by hand fresh each day we offer them. Our Sausages are whole hog pork products that we purchase from Sysco Foodservice, they come frozen and we cook them ourselves in our own oven. We even offer one of the most expensive Real Maple Syrups on the market over in our Hot Oatmeal station. What Im basically saying is that We take no short cuts to our breakfast service here at this location and I am sorry that you felt as if we did. "In town for a fishing tournament"

I have stayed at this hotel in the past. I stay there because so far everytime I have stayed there it has always been clean and quiet. I have stayed at other motels and hotels in the area that wasn't clean or quiet. The Best Western has always been clean, that's why I stay there. Although there price has gone up some. Grocery store nearby, CVS and many places to eat all nearby.

It was only a one night stay but it was a great stay! Darcell, the manager on duty, was a sweetheart! She was soo helpful and provided me with a quick check-in and scheduled my shuttle ride to the airport for the next morning! They had some breakfast items out at 0430. My room was clean and covers were fresh! I will stay here again if I have to come back to town.

I traveled here to spend a week with my boyfriend who is stationed on Fort Lee. My last 2 days in Richmond I reserved a room at this hotel. When I called the front desk I explained to the Operation Mgr that I was having a domestic dispute and needed to check in ASAP. She told me to come in and she would take care of me and she did. She was very polite and professional and made sure I was cared for. Aside that, the breakfast was great and the location isn't too far from the airport. If I ever go back to that area, I wouldn't mind staying at this BW again.

Good location near airport; , clean, easy to access, excellent breakfast and offers an easy departure. Rooms appear refurbished but tidy. They are priced competitive, but will never get the Courtyard Marriott folks who want their points

"Not a BW Plus"

This is not a Best Western Plus, it is barely a Best Western. The quality of the brand is none existent at this property. Filthy building, disgusting rooms, loud clientele. It was really hard to not walk right out after checking in.

Rooms were clean and nice, reception desk personnel friendly and helpful, breakfast was above average. Only downside was that there were no fans in the bathrooms. Liked the convenience to the airport. Good restaurants in vicinity.

The facility was clean and well kept. Breakfast was more than sufficient however fresh brewed coffee would be my preference. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only disappointment for me was the extremely small fitness room. The outdoor pool was very nice and clean!

"Excellent place to stay when flying out of Richmond"

This hotel was great to stay in since we were flying out of Richmond early the next day. Check-in was easy and we took our car to the lot after dinner. There was a shuttle that took us back to the hotel. Even though breakfast didn't start until 6, there was food out when we left at 5:15. Shuttle took us to the airport with no problems. When we arrived back in Richmond, there was a shuttle to take us to the parking lot. An excellent choice for a hotel for anyone flying out of the Richmond airport.

The purpose of my trip to Richmond was to accompany my granddaughter who was taking her car back to school with her. The next day I flew back home to Kentucky. I picked this location for its proximity to the airport I was using. The staff at the reservation counter and the shuttle driver were all professional, courteous and personable people, It was a pleasure to stay at their site. I think I made an excellent choice.

"Bring your own soap and coffee...."

Visited on business, found many very reasonable hotels near the airport, this is one of them! Room was clean and comfortable, beds comfy, check in staff very pleasant and accommodating. However, a few items would probably keep me from staying here again: You get rationed one 1/2 dollar size square of soap! This is probably due to the salesperson that sold the hotel on putting liquid shampoo, conditioner, and body was pump dispensers in the shower--just like a high school gym, or lower class workout center. I didn't try any of it as I don't care to pump out body products that a group of others lathered up and pumped out before me. I'll include a picture from underneath and you decide. Second issue is the coffee in the breakfast area is some type of instant liquid-coffee mix that resembles a very loose and unappealing definition of real coffee. OMG I wish hotels would stop trying to save a small amount on offering good coffee. It is such a breakfast staple. Fortunately the packets in the room are real coffee but rationed to only two cups. Did try to get more but the staff said they didn't have anything but decaf. Please bring back the staples of quality travel amenities!

"Female traveling alone"

I chose this hotel based on reviews but I didn't feel completely comfortable there by myself. I was visiting my son at Fort Lee and it was a holiday weekend so that might have effected the clientele. My flight arrived late at night and there were always males lingering outside no matter what time I left or came back. Seems to be lots of construction workers staying there. I was expecting more of a business class based on location and price or families being a holiday weekend. I felt uncomfortable at the pool, I was the only female out there both times I visited and both times groups of men came out drinking beer. There was always males at the door smoking every time I came and went. Again, not even blue collar workers but kind of sketchy males. My room was clean, bed was comfortable but my son has to stay on the army base at night so I was not comfortable returning of an evening but had no issues once inside and room was quiet.

I would stay here again, would like to see an indoor pool. The breakfast that was offered was a full breakfast, complete with build your own yogurt bar. Missing the pool though, this would have been nice.

"Quick In and Out"

In a word the hotel is 6 minutes from airport terminal, it has a shuttle service that runs from 4AM to midnight, it is very economically below $100 priced and the rooms are clean. The rooms are clean, it has internet service but it is very old looking. For us a late arrival and early departure meant all we needed was a safe, clean room close to the airport at a reasonable price. Met our very limited need.

The hotel lobby/breakfast area and rooms were very clean and recently renovated. The staff was friendly and accommodating at both check in and out. The breakfast was better than most hotels. Overall, the hotel is in a convenient location, clean, comfortable, and a good value.

"Pet Friendly Hotel for Fair Price"

My husband and I chose to stay at this hotel because they allowed dogs without charging daily pet fees. Overall, we were quite pleased with our five night stay. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful; they gave us a room on the first floor because we would be taking our dog outside frequently. Both the bedroom and bathroom were average in size and clean. The free internet was fast. Parking was free as well, and there were plenty of open spots - even on the weekends. The daily breakfast has lots of options - Belgian waffles, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, rotated breakfast meats (bacon, sausage patties, pork sausage), muffins, danishes, toast, oatmeal, juices, coffee, etc. - and we enjoyed it! There were only a few things we noticed that we didn't necessarily like. Our hotel room door made lots of noise, and if people walked by our room, we could easily hear everything they were saying. Also, because the hotel does not allow smoking inside (which, in my opinion, is great), a lot of people go outside to smoke. Taking my dog outside to go to the bathroom after dark felt uncomfortable because of this.

My original flight was delayed due to weather so was rebooked for a flight the next morning. My first hotel only had smoking rooms and I was able to get a refund for the night and called the Best Western for help! They had a non-smoking room available and took my reservation immediately. Mike and Faye were very friendly and attentive. I was starving and they showed me how to use their digital Concierge. The rooms are very clean as is the lobby area. They have an Air Port Shuttle - it runs starting at 4:15am which was fabulous and very conducive to my schedule. The driver, Wesley was awesome and very attentive to all his passengers. I was very glad I booked a reservation the night before so I'd have a seat in the morning as I had a super early flight. In the morning, my Hair Dryer was not working - Tia came up immediately with one that did work. The air conditioning works great!! It ran all night and was cool the whole time. I love their shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion Paya Dispensers!! I really wish more hotels would do this instead of the individual bottles/bars so you have enough of each for your whole trip. Even though my stay was super short (less than 24 hours), I would come back again! Next time I visit Richmond area I will look to stay here again even though it is a little farther from my work destination than I usually like but the people were great! I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a close hotel to the airport!

I have stayed at the BW Richmond Airport Hotel multiple times and I would recommend for the budget minded, family travelers. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast options could be improved but overall pretty good. My only negative is the hotel is very dated, updates to the decor are sorely needed.

"Exceeded expectations!"

Relying on reviews can be hit & miss bc so subjective so I had few expectations for one night at this hotel. I needed 3 things. Clean room. Early airport shuttle & some sort of breakfast. Having just seen a piece on hotels not changing bedding between guests I was on "high alert". But near as I could tell (& I was examining closely) the bedding appeared clean & fresh. The shuttle starts running before I needed it at 5am. I think it started around 4am. The breakfast was the real surprise. Far more options than I expected. Hot oatmeal & make-it-yourself waffle & pancake stations. Yogurt, muffins, pastries, English muffins, donuts and toast. There were granolas, dried fruits & nuts as well as fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pineapple for the yogurt/waffle/oatmeal stations. The hot foods were not meant to come out until 6 but "Wesley" obviously takes pride in his job & was able to get some of it out early (sausage & potatoes). He couldn't do it all early bc he's also the airport shuttle guy & we had to leave by 5am but Wesley also had my bags in his van and ready to go. Best Western=best in my book! Thanks Wesley. "Good for Proximity to Airport"

I had a quick overnight stay at this hotel for a business trip. It's a quick 5-6 minute ride from the airport. (Note the hotel does have a shuttle and you can call them when you land). The staff was straightforward and professional. The room is average - a bit dated -but the bed is glorious! I felt like I was floating on a sea of clouds (and I don't normally get too excited about a bed). I took a Lyft to downtown the next day and it was a 15 minute ride. So the hotel was convenient for flying in late at night and getting to downtown easily the next day.

My Tour company booked me in to the Super 8 just a few doors away from this Best Western. The Super 8 hotel is nasty, with sketchy characters & even had a woman murdered in her room a day before my arrival. I called the tour company & requested that they get me a room at this Best Western, based on the good reviews. Needless to say, I was very happy with my stay. First there was room to park my Motorcoach in the back. My room was very clean & the bed was comfortable. I was on the 4th floor and was concerned about the possible smell of cigarette smoke, based on previous reviews. The sweet young lady that checked me in assured me I would not smell it, And I didn't! I think they have a few smoking rooms on that floor. The breakfast was as good or better than most places. I did appreciate they had pure maple syrup for the waffles. The young lady taking care of the breakfast area was on top of everything. The swimming pool was very clean. The ladies at check in & check out were very polite & professional. If I had to pick anything negative, the carpet in the main hallway had some stains. No big deal to me as everything else was great! It appears that the management hires good help & takes the extra effort to give their guests a clean comfortable stay. I recommend this hotel, especially if you are staying near the Richmond Airport RVA...

Everything from check-in, the room, the breakfast, and check-out was first rate. Will definitely be back here the next time we stay over in Richmond area. The breakfast area has a fresh yogurt machine, the first we have encountered in a hotel. It also had a waffle machine, pancake machine, and everything else, plus space to spread out in.

Have stayed at this property twice. One year between stays. The staff is friendly and well trained. We will stay at this property every time we are in the Richmond area. After our stay last year my kids asked to stay here when they found out we would be in the area.

This was my 2nd time in 2 weeks that I stayed at this hotel. It was clean, staff was very nice. And the breakfast buffet was the best I've been too. This is right next to the Richmond Airport. Very convenient to stay there. Highly recommend it. Will be back.

"My new favorite hotel"

I absolutely loved the best Western richmond airport hotel. The staff was friendly, everything was clean and bright, the breakfast was amazing. I didn't get a chance to go in the pool but my daughter and cousin did and they had a ball. Definitely staying here next time im in the area. Only thing I had a problem with was a discrepancy with the bill. There was a mix up and u eded up paying a little more than $20 more for my stay than originally booked for.

Overall hotel was clean. Beds clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Attendants who were very friendly, were attentive to restocking as things ran out. Food was good. The only problem was I could smell weed in hall when we returned to our non smoking room. I don't know if anyone can control that. I would book at this hotel again

Hotel Staff at the front desk was nice and helpful. Although late checkout was requested, hotel staff (housekeepers) continued to knock every 20 mins before the requested checkout time to make sure I had told the front desk, which I did on arrival.

Nice place, great staff, decor is just a bit dated. It was very convenient for our group attending a family reunion in Richmond, VA. Appears to be a popular place as there were several groups staying and enjoying the amenities.

"Good, clean convenient"

Room was large, with fridge, good tv etc. There was a guest washer and dryer on 2nd and 4th floors - great for long-term travellers like us. I was thrilled to have an iron and ironing board but not so thrilled when the dirty iron plate put brown marks on my t-shirt! BAD! Hotel was noisy - doors banging, hearing people talking in the passageway outside. Breakfast above average with some hot food. Ok for one night, no more.

"Wedding Trip"

Our Trip was fabulous, from the easy check in to the complimentary late check out, the BW Crew were accommodating and very professional! We came down as a group for my best friends wedding and this was in an optimal location. The rooms were a decent size for the price and very clean compared to what I've experienced. The wifi was easy to connect the pool was clean and there were plenty of towels!!! Great job to the staff and We Thank You!!

"Great value"

This was ideal for our 5-day visit to Richmond. Looks like it was recently renovated. Close to the airport but we weren't disturbed by plane noise. About 15 minutes from downtown Richmond. Great variety of food items for breakfast and coffee/tea available 24/7. Helpful staff, Nice outdoor pool (but not much shade until late afternoon). We stayed on 4th floor which was quiet. Since it is a great value you might have large groups staying there. We had young girls softball teams. Thankfully our room was not near them and we were able to use the pool when they were at practice or games. We would stay there again.

"Great hotel experience"

My family and I had a great experience here at the Best Western. Both the exterior and interior were very clean. The hotel appeared remodeled. Furniture and fixtures were updated and looked new. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were nice and very clean. Wifi, premium tv, exercise room, pool use, and breakfast were included in our stay. Breakfast was delicious and the options were more extensive than any other hotel breakfast I've experienced. I would definitely stay here again. Bravo Best Western!

"Very convenient, clean, nice staff"

I had to fly out of the Richmond Airport at 6 am after visiting my parents who live near Charlottesville - too far to drive in the middle of the night. I booked the Best Western and was very happy. Clean room with lots of amenities (fridge, King bed, etc.). Very convenient to airport, plenty of parking, airport shuttle (which I did not use but they have 4:30 am -midnight). It was also really quiet! Super nice staff at front desk, even the reservation person on the phone was very nice. I left at 4:30 am, so pre-breakfast, but they had some carry-out things ready, and coffee, etc.

I was there with my daughters travel team and thought that this hotel was a great choice for the price. The breakfast was great compared to some other hotels I have stayed at. They ad lots of good quality, tasty, well stocked food. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

My recent stay at Best Western Plus was absolutely great. Friendly staff from check-in to check-out. Clean rooms, great continental breakfast, pool, and did I mention the friendly staff. Everyone there greeted you and spoke to you in passing. I have never stayed at such a friendly place. I would refer anyone to this Hotel.

Overall stay was good. Great value for the money. Staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed for the stay and fly package. Although you must leave your car at the fly and go lot. It was not a problem the hotel shuttled you back and forth to the lot or airport.

This is an older hotel, but everything is in working order. The interior is a bit outdated, but everything is clean. Rooms are spacious. Bed comfortable. Breakfast is better than average. Staff is friendly.

definitely would return. friendly and accommodating staff. was there for business and saved on car rental, the shuttle took me were my conference was located and to local stores for "snack purchases and restaurants. each room offered refrigerator and microwave which was convenient for my "snack" attacks. GREAT STAFF.

The Hotel was near the airport and there were food options nearby (Burger King, Arby's, A Mexican Restaurant, also there were other food delivery options). The rooms have a fridge and microwave, flat screen tv, free Wi-Fi, iron and hair dryer; however the room felt a little cramped with two double beds and the bathroom was small. There was also a laundry on the second floor (where I stayed) and ice machine, but no vending machines (this was on the first floor).

I have been staying at the hotel for about 4 years and the staff is friendly and has always worked to make the stay comfortable. The hotel has always been adding to and improving the breakfast bar. Parking is good around the hotel and poll is open into September.

Very Good Hotel, close to the airport although I never heard a plane take off or land. Not all that close to downtown Richmond, but it was a very acceptable distance to drive (15-10 minutes). Good breakfast, clean comfortable room, good internet in room.

This place, although not overly fancy, was an exceptional place to stay. The room was attractive and clean, and everything worked! The breakfast made it all worth it - such a wonderful selection of hot and cold foods, including fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, pineapple, etc. for the fresh yogurt from the machine. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. I wish every hotel experience I have was as good as this one. Highly, highly recommend!

When I inquired about parking for the week, was offered a superb deal to park in a secure lot nearby with transportation back to BW.only $20/wk! Hotel staff extremely friendly. Airline crews stay here.

Reviews on line give this hotel more credit that it's worth. Its your very basic budget hotel. If you want to save money this is your hotel. Recent upgrades done but very cheaply. many kids everywhere.

"Perfectly fine for a quick stop before an early morning flight"

After a few days in western Virginia, I needed a place to crash near the Richmond airport so I could get a little sleep before an early morning flight. This hotel is right across the street from the airport, so the location was perfect. Stayed in a non-smoking room with a king-size bed, which was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The room was definitely dated and showed signs of wear -- a hole worn in the carpet, peeling wallpaper, etc. For a quick place to set up camp before an early morning flight, though, it did exactly what I needed it to do: provide a comfortable place to crash.

good location... rooms were clean and comfortable.. staff was extremely helpful and friendly...maybe some updating? we met the staff thruout.. in the hall, in the lot etc.. and all were telling us if we needed anything to call and they would be available until midnite or so.. bed was comfortable.. noise was normal...the only complaint (and the staff we told was SO APOLOGETIC) was the dust vent in the bathroom.. it looked like it was never cleaned.. and its easy to miss because of its location etc.. other than that.. everything was fine.. and would return

"Nice hotel"

This was a really nice hotel, bit at all what I expected for a Best Western. My room was pretty clean. There was a dead, dried up bug on the wall, but other than that it was ok. You could tell they tried to reglaze the tub was, but it was peeling on the outside. I checked out to early for breakfast.

"Comfortable Rooms; Friendly Staff"

New location for us on our route home from FL; N.B. avoid toll road to get here - $4.25 costs for 1 minute access not necessary. Hotel was clean & comfortable - other than our room had a very obvious soiled/stained carpet, which we reported to front desk; also this hotel unlike other BW's we book - requires a 24 hour cancellation notice - most will allow up to 6:00 pm on day of check-in. Was not an issue - this time - but you never know when travel plans will change at the last minute and I was surprised at the notice required compared to others.

"Perfect for Overnight Stay"

The hotel was very clean, quiet, and perfect for an overnight stay before an early morning flight. The hot breakfast was good quality and presented in a very clean eating area. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The commute to the airport was less than six minutes. All in all a very delightful stay after traveling all day in a car readying for your flight the next day. I did notice there was a laundry room by the elevator of both washer and dryer. Very close to the ice and vending machines. The room was equipped with microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. Coffee and tea were provided for the next morning. The bathroom was a unique layout, and was easy to maneuver around with plenty of room. The airconditioning/heating unit was not on when we arrived, but it didn't take very long before the room was pleasingly comfortable. Beds were comfy, and pillows were just the right fluffiness. We were very pleased with the overnight stay.

The thing which makes me choose Best Western for every trip is their staff. The way they receive the customer. They are so nice and friendly. It is really a very good place to stay with clean rooms and especially i love the breakfast service everyday. It is yummy.

"Don't miss this one!"

This hotel is one of the best. Ask for room 202. It has Tile floors and it feels much cleaner than carpet floors. We stayed four days and enjoyed everything. The staff is flexible and gracious. Our flight was unexpectedly canceled and the management gave us a very reasonable rate to stay one more night. It's also close to the airport, many restaurants and freeway access.

Out of the many Best Westerns I stayed at this was the worst ...Wont be back If I can help it! A smile goes a long way and not one employee other that the maids even cracked a grin! They were more focused on leaving for the day then getting me checked in for my room! I literally walked in at 2:40 and was told there were no rooms available came back 15min later to a line of people waiting and a new FD staff that had plenty of rooms to offer!

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, wi-fi was fast. The best thing about this place was the breakfast! Pastries, fresh oatmeal & yogurt with a variety of toppings, waffles, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, canadian bacon, sausage, cereals, juices, and great coffee! A clean room and a good breakfast is really all it takes to impress me with a hotel.

"Dispite one hiccup - a great place"

We had a dirty spot on the toilet. But after traveling all day we were to tired to call and wait for anyone to clean it. We woke up the next morning refreshed and had such a great breakfast we completely forgot to complain. We would definitely stay there again. On our last morning I spilled my coffee. The lady there helped me clean it up without making me feel bad. Great Customer Service !

Room was clean, staff was busy but very friendly to us. Hotel was full on this weekend. Hotel is older, doors are narrower than modern ones. It was clean and comfortable. If you are really picky then do not stay here, if you are ok with slightly out of date styles, you will be happy as I was. Breakfast was excellent.

I was picked up quickly at airport by a super friendly and helpful driver. The desk clerk at time of check-in was very helpful in switching me from a smoking to a non-smoking room. The manager was very gracious and helpful in giving me a later check-out time as my outgoing flight was later in evening. He was friendly and took me to airport in the shuttle.

The rooms are nice, they have all the amenities we normally look for when traveling. The free breakfast was good. They have an up to date fitness center and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Excellent Breakfast!! I thought the pool should have been open by now. The room was good size and clean. Wi-Fi was strong, no problems. Had to call housekeeping at about 2pm to change my garbage on the first day, second day they showed up on their own.

Getting my Nephew from Boot Camp. Awesome time. Drove from South Carolina and was beat, the room was a welcome. Comfortable and roomie. Had a bed brought in and great attitude from all the staff. Will come back.

"What hotel still has smoking rooms?!?"

Booked a room through hotels.com for 1 night with my sister before renting a moving truck the next morning. Arrived at the hotel around 11:30pm. Checked in and proceeded to the elevator. The moment we got off in the 4th floor all I smelled was cigarettes. We got to our room and it smelled even worse. We asked for another room, as we both have allergies and could feel my eyes itching and coughing. Front desk informed us that since we booked through a 3rd party, we don't get a choice in rooms and no other room was available. The called the shuttle bus driver to come spray out room with what smelled like lemon pledge, and lasted all of 10 minutes. Needless to say I had a headache and horrible allergies all night. What hotel still has smoking rooms in 2017?!? What clientele are you trying to impress??? Last but not least, our carpet was FILTHY!!! Like gross!! Like someone died on the carpet and they never called Stanley steamer. I was completely skeeved out. Please clean you carpets and make this a non smoking hotel. I will never stay here again, and I wouldnt recommend anybody else to either.

"Hotel is old but service was great"

We stayed here one night after arriving at the airport at midnight. We called for the shuttle and it was at the airport in five minutes. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The hotel room was dingy and old and the toilet wouldn't flush right. The mattress was hard and the pillows were thin. We didn't sleep very well. The next morning, breakfast made up for it. It's the best selection ever seen at a hotel of this type. Make your own waffles, pancakes, there was eggs, ham, hot oatmeal cold cereal something for everyone including yogurt, with fresh fruit lots of different toppings. The man filling the breakfast was literally running back-and-forth keeping everything filled and fresh. The customer service and the great breakfast would bring us back again.

"Decent room and location for the price"

I was up on the 3rd floor with a view of a motel foundation next door. The Legacy Inn is no more and there's a big ole fence around the property. The BW Plus had a strong disinfectant smell in the lobby. Heard an alarm going off in another room in the early morning where no one in the room answered it. Contacted the front desk and it was quickly taken care of. Agent at check-in was helpful and pleasant. And Lorenzo and check out was fast and friendly. I'd stay here again.

"Crappy room, clueless uncaring staff"

1st room had water dripping from the bathroom ceiling, which we realized in the middle of the night. Explained problem next day and asked for new room. Absolutely no apology, expression of concern, or hint of compensation offered by the staff, who clearly don't care at this hotel. New room one of the worst possible: right by the lobby so there's extra noise and food odor. We needed bedding for the sofabed. When it came there was no pillow or blanket. We pointed out the lack to the staff person who literally seemed stunned that anyone would want such things. We found an extra blanket in the closet (the staff was too dumb to suggest this) and eventually the staff person brought a pillow around claiming it was the only extra pillow they had (in the whole hotel?!). All this and I'm a Platinum member at Best Western, so they could at least pretend to care. Avoid this hotel. Poor service, staff clearly doesn't care, bad rooms.

This hotel is always clean, beds comfortable, and breakfast is adequate. Front desk staff members are pleasant and efficient. Location is good and near airport with shuttle service. The parking area is large and will accommodate trucks with trailer. Restaurants, grocery stores and shopping centers are near by. We have been staying here twice yearly for at least 10 years with no complaints. We highly recommend.

We visit this area for roller skating competitions. The facility was rated well on Trip Advisor so we booked one room for one night. This was a very good choice. From the moment we were welcomed by Joy at the reception desk until we were wished "safe travels" by the morning staff, this was a good experience. The price was reasonable, the value received our highest rating. Clean rooms, attentive staff, quiet hallways, comfortable common areas, great breakfast, well stocked room . . . it was all good. We will be back for more competitions. We will be happy to return to this welcoming, comfortable home away from home.

Stayed here for 4 days while attending concerts at the Coliseum. Booked online, which I am uncomfortable doing, I like to see where I'll be especially when am not from the area. What a pleasant surprise! My room was so nice, very clean and quiet. Bed was very comfortable too! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They greeted you every time you walked in and were more than willing to tell you how to get around. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get where I had to go, the hotel is located in a way that it is easy to get almost anywhere. I will stay here again if I am in the area!

"Issue with staff, no issue with rooms"

I've stayed here multiple times, and I've had a problem two times now where the reservation somehow didn't go through. So, when we got there, we had to wait and go through the whole reservation process again. The first time this happened was a busy weekend, but fortunately there were 2 rooms available. The hotel does not honor the government rate on busy weekends, which I've never encountered in other hotels. Otherwise I LOVE that there are hand soap, lotion, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner dispensers in the bathrooms. Most of Europe does this, and it saves on so much plastic, so kudos to Best Western for that! If you like a lot of sugar and meat in your breakfast, then this hotel has the continental breakfast for you (but not for me!).

"worst front desk ever"

my sister was dying in a nearby hospital . My brother and I were paying for rooms for family and friends. The front desk cancelled a reservation for someone who stayed at the hospital and then would not waive the charge and my brother had to drive to the hotel to make another reservation for this person.They would not extend the reservations for us and we were paying for 4-5 rooms

We stayed at this Hotel because we have stayed at if before and found it met our needs. We had an early morning flight and this hotel is very close and has an airport shuttle. The hotel was clean and we had no problems. We were not looking for a resort, but somewhere to stay that was clean and quiet. The only problem, and not the hotel's fault, was we were awakened late in the night by a group loudly announcing their intent for a wild party, and again by the same group when they left just as loudly some time later.

Hotel and rooms very clean and well appointed. The room we had was missing an easy chair--only had one business chair so the 2nd person sat on the bed. Also, the room was small to the point the pathway at the end of the beds was a one way street, Got to be irritating. Breakfast was excellent and employees were very pleasant and helpful. We were a little way off and called to see if they had a room that could sleep 3 adults in separate beds, they did and it was set up by the time we arrived. Room was clean. The breakfast bar is not to be missed make your own oatmeal, waffles, pancakes, and yogurt sundaes all with lots of toppings. Plus lots of other hot food and breakfast regulars. I would stay again if in the area.

We stayed here for one night prior to an early flight. It was fine for that purpose but I found the carpet damp as well as the sheets. It was clean but it was clear the property is aging and looking worn although they are making a good effort to keep it up.

"Visiting daughter in Richmond"

The room was very clean. The pool area was very clean. We enjoyed the pool and had the pool mostly to ourselves. It was extremely hot during our visit so the pool was wonderful. The breakfast self-serve area was kept very clean and supplied well. All the employees were very nice. We are planning to stay at this hotel again in the very near future. Cannot beat it for the price and the location. The soap dispensers etc in the shower were very nice.

"Perfect as Always"

I stayed at this location in order to get my girlfriend to the airport early the next morning for her flight out of town. Upon arrival the front desk clerk asked if we had a preference of which floor we wanted. A first floor room was available that gave us a perfect view of our car right outside our window. We checked out early the next morning with no major issues. The only issue we had was the computer system was down so we couldn't get a receipt right away. Darcell the front desk clerk emailed me the receipt when the system came back up a couple of hours later. I would like to thank the entire staff for a great visit. "Nice Hotel"

We were leaving another hotel in Richmond because of the poor service so this was a last minute choice. We had room on the second floor. The soap, shampoo, and lotion dispensers were a nice touch. They had a gym and a pool but we didn't have time to check it out. There also were many options to choose from for breakfast. Staff was courteous. Will stay here again.

Great value for a great stay. Self serve breakfast layout and quality is the best I have ever experienced. Breakfast included 2 waffle makers, pancake machine, do-it-yourself yogurt parfait, cereal hot & cold, bagels, muffins, and other breakfast items. Great staff who go above and beyond to help you. The cleanliness was great, bathroom was a little tight for movement, but clean and functional. The room had a larger than normal college size fridge and microwave. Work desk for those who require work space. The only downfall were the beds. You can tell they were made of springs, as they made a little noise when you rolled over and you felt them a bit when you slept. The beds could sleep two, but it was a little tight when you try to roll over. Overall stay was great and the staff were great!

I had a great stay at Best Western, as always. The ladys at check in was friendly and very nice. It was quite at night, no loud noises. The room was clean, Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room everyday. The beds were comfortable. I will be staying here more in the future for my fishing tournaments.

"Sister surprised "

This hotel is one my favorites to stay in in Richmond. They have remodeled the interior some and made it look a lot better. The rooms are extremely nice very clean bathrooms have been upgraded very clean. Only problem I have with it is the bed mattress is too hard maybe just for me had a hard time getting comfortable. Will stay there any time I go to Richmond.

"A place to sleep for the night"

First off, this is a "smoking allowed" hotel. Our room was a non-smoking room and was clean; however, the common areas all smelled of cigarette smoke. For this, I can only rate 2 out of 5 - it was that noticeable. Nothing spectacular about the hotel - it was a place to sleep for the night and very reasonably priced.

"Pleasant Stay"

Really enjoyed our stay. The drive to move our daughter from PA to Richmond for Grad School was a long,tedious 9 hours. Never got to the hotel until 10pm. Glad I opted for late check-in so our room was available at that late hour. Desk clerk extremely friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. Extra parking for the U-haul was a plus and a 5 minute drive to drop off location. Hotel was extremely quiet for being so close to the airport. Breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel offering many items to choose from. Was a convenient 10 minute drive to where our daughter is living. Will definitely be staying there when when come to Richmond for a return visit.

"Only okay"

We stayed here based on previous reviews. Honestly the hotel is not as good as the reviews show. Perhaps it is this side of town, but this is the second hotel we have stayed at near the airport and have been disappointed both times. The staff is friendly, but the hotel is very dated and had a strange smell on the 2nd floor hallway. Our room was clean, but the carpet is stained and the A/C was only adequate. We will not be back.

"Convenient Inexpensive Hotel"

This was the best bang for the buck anywhere right near the airport. Older and smaller hotel, but the room was clean, staff was nice, & the breakfast was good with many options. The courtesy van to/from the airport was good, and the drivers were friendly. If you are expecting a luxurious hotel, then you will need to look elsewhere and pay 2 to 3 times what you get here. I would stay here again if needed.

The hotel location was good, close to the interstate and Richmond International Airport drove down from Washington DC, I was shock there was no traffic. arrive early at hotel asked if we could check in, the clerk(LORENZO) was so friendly, he checked and it were rooms available to check. the rooms were clean and smell fresh, beds had good mattresses, breakfast was satisfying. look forward to staying there real soon, going back to visit my family. "First and last time!"

Making my reservations ahead of time (3 Months) I was guaranteed the best room choice at Best Western. I was disappointed in my room on many levels. These issues are listed below. Using the restroom on arrival, to my chagrin there was hair all over the bathroom floor. My request for someone to clean the floor was handled promptly. The hair was the issue not the service! Faulty smoke alarm issue: After chirping every 30 seconds and many attempts to rectify the problem, a replacement was made after a long 7(seven) hours. During this time it continued to chirp! Management initially told staff to not replace the detector. A major concern is why the room was extremely damp. Everything in the room including the carpet was damp and smelled bad. Bedcovers and towels included. Our clothes eventually absorbed this dampness and odor. The odor permeated everything in the room. We were staying with a group who meet annually in different states. I have a shared interest with this group. We like to share information and ideas as well at these events. According to my group leader we were not allowed to set up a display of our information in the hotel nor there was a conference room available. Therefore I was not able share the boxes of information I brought from home. I hope the powers that be take in to account that persons staying at Best Western facilities expect some degree of safety and comfort. We don't expect it to be homelike. With that logic we should not have to worry about being ignored or dismissed or considered as just a paying customer who will be gone soon. Based on this experience I will probably think twice before staying at a Best Western Hotel again.

I am the Sales and Operations Manager here and I want to start off by saying I deeply apologize. I must say if you look at the majority of our reviews, this is out of the norm. I am somewhat familiar with this situation and I must say all of our rooms are the best rooms weather you book 3 months or 3 days in advance. This was a great group and out of all that stayed here only one complaint. As I may clear something up, you received an early check-in at 2:07 in the afternoon, in-which at that time you had a hair issue which was fix promptly. Smoke detector is partially battery operated and unfortunately we have no control of when they decide to die. This incident was not reported until the evening time (concerning the smoke detector) in-which 7 hours to replace is an exaggeration, due to the fact that our staff only work 8 hour shift and in-response to the dampness and odor you never mention, actually I was the one who check you out and you never stated anything at that time. You also was in that same room for fours days and only complained about the hair and smoke detector the first day. Being the Sales Manager I am the one who set this group up with your group leader and they were aware that we did not have a conference room (space) at all in this hotel and they also never mention anything about display. We take all feedback serious, without feedback good or bad we will not be able to grow as a company. "Good Value for Williamsburg"

Stayed here on our road trip through the south east. First night of our trip and it was a good experience. We had a late check in that went smoothly, and the rooms were decently clean and comfortable. Didn't like the half pillows the bed had, but the water pressure made up for that. Only about a 45 minute ride to Colonial Williamsburg. Continental breakfast was clean and a decent spread.

Very quiet, clean room. Great coffee! Made fresh all day. Excellent breakfast with eggs, bacon or sausage daily. Sweet rolls, waffles, fruit, and cereal. Room had a microwave and refrigerator. Plenty of restaurants nearby. We took up several tables, but there were plenty of seats for all of us and room for others. Nice lobby. Friendly staff. Near Krogers and other shopping. Near the airport but never heard the planes.

"Bad check in experience"

Made reservations 3 months in advance to stay here to attend a wedding in town. We would be traveling 5 hours by car and explained we needed an early check in, like 1 hour early, was told no problem since lots of people from the wedding were staying there. She explained she was putting a note on my reservations and that would not be a problem. Called a few days before date to confirm and was again told no problem, note on reservations. We arrive at 1 hour before check in time and was told our room was not ready and made no attempt to help us get in a room since we were on a time schedule to change for the wedding and be picked up at a certain time.My main complaint is with the hotel clerk that no way wanted to help us in this situation. After speaking with another clerk we were let in our room a few minutes after checking time. Very unfriendly hotel clerk. Air condition was so loud it kept me awake.

"First time but defiantly not the last "

I have to stay in Richmond 4 to 5 times a year and decided to try the best wester only because the place I normally stay at in this area was booked and the reviews looked good. Boy was I surprised first it is off the main road making it a lot quieter. The lobby is spotless and the staff was attentive and pleasant. The room was on the slightly smaller size but was in excellent condition and well decorated. The tv selection with direct tv was better than my choices at home. As for the bed it was extremely comfortable and the fittings looked new. My biggest surprise was the price it is lower than most of the others in the area that you would want to stay at and even better than a few you wouldn't stay at even if there was nothing available in the area. The other great part for me was is was across the street from my favorite Mexican restaurant in Richmond. I know I will be back to stay here even when I have to be at the other end of Richmond as the value is probably the best I have found in this area

"acceptable, but barely"

My room had a 'twin bed' which I never expected but should have known. Very small! A business friend was with me and received a king, yet both had the same request. The fitness center was not acceptable. Two of the three machines didn't work and the 'weight' machine had two positions. Location is great for airport in and out.

Clean room, nice shower and soap dispensers, microwaves and fridges in every room, good breakfast, and friendly staff - can't ask for much more than that. Only down side is that they still offer smoking rooms, but we were on a different floor and didn't smell the smoke at all (and I'm VERY sensitive to smoke smell).

I was in Richmond for a week and the Best Western was perfect. I asked for an upper, quiet room and that is exactly what they gave me. It was very clean, quiet and I felt perfectly safe being alone there. It is close to some shopping if you have a car and the breakfast was perfect.

We picked this hotel because it was close to the airport. Turns out, it is only 5 mins away. The room was comfortable, clean and relaxing. Great shower with lots of hot water! The internet was fast and the hotel computer readily available. We would stay here again without hesitation.

We got a great rate for this hotel through Trip Advisor and it was soo easy! I'm often skeptical about "ratings" because I never know if hotel staff is doing it. I must admit, the rating listed on this website was pretty accurate. Our stay was June 29th -July2, 2016. "Tia" checked us in and she was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was good (although they only had pork the entire time we were there for breakfast meat- try turkey sausage/bacon sometimes), the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was nice (loved all of the pre-filled dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap!) and everything was updated. Thanks to the wonderful lady that prepared the breakfast and kept it stocked during the "rush" (I don't have the card with her name). Overall, great stay!!

"The GD motel was imroperly addressed as adjoiniing the airport (for convenience), but was in fact more than 5 miles away"

The motel was misaddressed as adjoining near the airport. couldn't be found as there was another hotel there, and in fact was more than 5 miles distant in a secluded location behind another motle with no easily visible signage. I will never use Best Western again!

Only stayed overnight however everything was nice. Clean room and comfortable bed. Front desk called 20 minutes after we checked in to see if everything was up to our standards...nice touch. Free breakfast in the morning...basic food but nice to have coffee and tea right there. Would stay again.

This hotel was far below the expectations we have for Best Western. We were extremely tired and looked forward to the excellent accomodations we have come to expect from Best Western. As we walked into the room the room we noticed a bad smell. At that point all we really wanted to do was get into bed to rest, so, we simply put up with it.

"Close Airport Location"

Best Western Plus Richmond is located close to the airport and offers a pick up/drop off shuttle which is handy for air travellers. Our room was clean and unto the normal expected standards. All staff were very friendly and appeared to be wanting to assist with any queries that we had. There are several eateries within walking distance of the hotel.

Stayed here a year ago, and they've upgraded the type & amount of breakfast items since then, and the bed & pillows are very comfortable. King room quite roomy & seemed quiet. Number of parking spaces seems limited, so try to check in before dinner time. Hotel & sign back off main road, so be paying attention when going down main road.

"New Decor Same wonderful service"

This is my favorite place to stay when I need to catch an early morning flight from RIC. I had a problem with getting a wake up call set up from my room and went to the front desk that took care of setting it. I never received it. It was ok, I had a back up on my phone. They no longer have park and stay. That's ok, I go to the Park and Fly a few blocks away. Everything is new and shiny and spotless and you have a choice of pillows!

Very good value and wonderful staff. They offered a shuttle within a 3 mile radius so we didnt have to drive. All people were very professional in dealing with them. It was easy for us to get to. Breakfast was great. Lot of things to do in the area.

Conveniently located near Richmond airport, with reliable and friendly shuttle service. Very friendly staff. Excellent value if you need to stay close to the airport for an early morning departure. No dining area in the hotel, but walking distance to Burger King & Arby's.

Staff friendly an d helpful. Clean rooms and overall very clean. Breakfast was stocked up and good. Hotel was centrally located. Lobby area was welcoming. Extra pillows and bedding in room in needed. Easy check in and check out. Front desk called to check on me during my stay. Nice touch.

The room was clean and large. There was a microwave and fridge, and the TV was modern. The bed was comfortable. I liked the soap and shampoo dispensers especially. The gentleman who looked after the breakfast area made sure everyone was satisfied with their meal, and continually kept the food refreshed. There was a lot of variety, eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, yogourt, biscuits, and juices. I was very happy with the friendly staff and the overall experience.

We have been staying at this hotel for the past three years to go to Richmond international speedway. It has really never been great, just ok. But, this past stay was horrible! The outside of the hotel had cigarette butts everywhere. The carpet in the hallways and room are disgusting. Our room smelled like body odor. There was hair all over the tub and toilet. My husband picked up the ice bucket to get ice and there was ants all over it and the tv stand. Just nasty!! We will be finding somewhere else to stay!

Staff could not have been more helpful. My daughter and grand daughter had to stay and extra day to make a flight, staff left her check in early, shuttled her to a nearby park for my grand daughter to play while they waited. Shuttled them to airport and made sure they made it on time. Great breakfast and super value. We had to spend two other days at a so called downtown icon hotel, not near the value, room size or helpful staff. Thanks to the staff!

"Best Western is tops"

We had a very stressful happening before arriving at the Richmond Best Western. Our shuttle drivers were very efficient and good drivers. The breakfast was amazing with everything from oatmeal to waffles, etc. The attitude is "ask and you shall receive". I would recommend this hotel.

Priced appropriately, the rooms were very clean, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I stayed here as it was perfectly located to visit Bush Gardens, and downtown Richmond, and affordable. It was myself and my 2 children and we felt safe.

"Clean but pet fee"

Clean room, noisy refrigerator. Friendly staff. I disagree that there ahould be a pet fee but instead it should be a deposit, refundable upon check out. I got no services for my fee. There was no designated dog area, and there was no garbage container nearby. I have been traveling around the country. this was my first Best Western experience. I feel I have gotten better value from a motel 6 for 1/2 the price and no pet fee

"Clean and dirty if that's possible...."

Just like the headline states, this is a clean and dirty hotel all at the same time. My room was fairly clean....the sheets were clean, the bathroom was also clean. However, the carpeting, curtains and paint were aged....a little dirty. There was a musty smell throughout as well. For $95 a night I could stay here or I could spend $30 more to stay at the Courtyard right next door and be in a much cleaner and quieter situation. Free breakfast doesn't mean too much to me, sorry.

"Our go to hotel in Richmond (RIC) airport hotel"

Very nice and helpful staff that made our stay seamless. I miss them already. Our 2nd floor room was clean and functional. The beds were very sleep-able for our 5 night stay. We choose this hotel because of its price and location as its 10-12 minutes from downtown after a quick drive down the freeway. The airport is closer yet we weren't bothered by plane noise. Nice shopping and eating is just minutes away too. We had a rental car but I did use the hotel shuttle as we flew out at 5:45am and I had turned in the rental car the night prior. The shuttle driver was like the rest of the staff, a nice guy doing his job very well. The breakfast was good and included in the price of the stay. As the title states, this will be my go to hotel in the future for the Richmond VA area. I recommend giving it a try as its a good value for a no nonsense traveler.

"Excellent Customer Service"

The hotel appears small from the outside, but that's due to the driveway being so small and the hotel having to share a space. Upon entering, however, it presents a very modern look...hardwood laminate, nice modern furniture, updated vending machines and laundry machines, fresh like-new carpet, no rust, no musty smells, no peeling paint, nothing broken, but bright, light, and airy. The beds are full-size, not queens. There's a microwave and refrigerator in each room. The bathrooms are small, but workable. Above all, the customer service is exceptional, which is what I look for. The young lady who checked us in (I arrived with 10 rowdy teenagers) was very professional and courteous in her attempt to get us checked in relatively quickly. The bellman was also extremely helpful. I only tip when I have received exceptional service. Let's just say, the bellman was worth every dime. He was extremely kind and helpful. I generally only stay at 4 & 5-star hotels because the thought of sleeping where someone else has lain their head scares me. But, this was work, so I stayed where they sent me. It wasn't bad at all. If I had to, I'd stay here again; it was just that nice.

This was my first time staying at this location. I was very pleased and will try and remember if ever back to this location. Staff was very friendly and informative. The facility was clean and my overnight was in comfort. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone. A good choice for value when considering other locations nearby

"Too small to be a hotel"

Everything is too small - the rooms, the fitness area, the lobby and breakfast area, parking, you name it. There are many other options in Richmond to stay more comfortably. Updated to look nice but that doesn't make it bigger...

This was a surprise to have such a quite and pleasant stay so close to the airport. This location is clean, quite and very friendly. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast was good but I stayed more than one day I wish there was a little more variety.

"completely satisfied with everything"

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to be pleasant and efficient. The hotel is not new, but it is in good repair and very clean. The beds were super comfy. Breakfast was a very good selection including eggs and sausage...not just a continental breakfast. Overall, one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in at this price range. We will be in Richmond monthly and decided on the way home that we will just stay here monthly. It is a very easy commute to downtown and there are a lot of conveniences like grocery stores, gas, and food in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

"Was pleasantly surprised"

This hotel is near the airport and was nice. We just needed a place for an overnight and this was inexpensive. I was not expecting too much based on the price - about $90 for a King non-smoking room. However, upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The lobby was clean and there was a free breakfast - mostly continental but there were scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cut up sausage. The room was very large with a closet, desk, chair, king sized bed, mini refrigerator, microwave, and TV. The bathroom was much larger and better than expected for a hotel. The sink was on a corner cabinet with plenty of space. Water pressure was awesome as well. The only drawback was a strong smell of some type - it wasn't a bad smell, just really strong. Maybe a cleaning product, or an air freshener - but it was extremely strong. But that was mostly in the hallway - not so much in the room, and after about 15 minutes it was hardly noticeable unless you went back out into the hallway.

"Clean Room, Nice Breakfast"

Pretty decent hotel. Only thing I could find that was a bit dirty was the shower head. They clean the bathroom well, but the shower head has a little crevice that circles it which has pink in it. The rooms have good sized flat screens, the beds are pretty comfortable, and they have free wifi along with a computer room downstairs. Breakfast has lots of variety including waffles, yogurt, and oatmeal with toppings set out to choose from, the usual cereal, bread, and bagels, and hot items including scrambled eggs, potatoes, and what tasted like kielbasa pieces. They have a shuttle to the airport, but it will not pick up from Greyhound. They also have free wifi and a computer room downstairs, along with washers and dryers for $2.25 per load. The staff here is decent, but the lady at the front desk could be a little more forward with info and welcoming. As far as restaurants nearby, the only ones I saw within walking distance were Arby's, Burger King, Waffle House, and Mexico. Overall, nice place to stay for the $88 or so.

Great Place for over night, before or after flight. Rides available to and from airport. Also out to eat rides as needed. Nice breakfast, served early so we could get to our flight. I would stay here again if I have to fly out of Richmond. My granddaughter loved her own big bed.

"If you must and it's cheap..."

I noticed a Tripadvisor sticker with a high rating on this hotel and I needed to write a review. I stay here for business ( company books and pays, we have no choice) and I find this place to be dreadful. It's 5 minutes to the airport, which is a good thing. The staff is ok, but tends to be indifferent. The toiletries are in wall mounted dispensers, which I'm happy to see as it keeps a lot of controllable waste to a minimum. The breakfast is there, but personally I'd rather go to one of the two Waffle Houses that are a short walk(and shorter drive) away. The first thing you notice as you walk in is the air freshener. It's not subtle, it pretty much slaps you in the face. It permeates the entire hotel. It's not a pleasant smell either, floral with a mix of a heavy disinfectant smell. As in "What are they trying to cover up?" The decor is tired and if you look closely, you can see flaws everywhere. Lots of things are worn out and dingy. I stayed in three separate rooms over a month once and none of them had outlets that would hold my phone charger without it falling out. The rooms are a bit small, so if you're planning on more than two people, I'd look elsewhere. The beds are OK, but the pillows are mostly flat. If you need a room in this area for one night and can do it cheap, then OK. But even still, I'd look for another option. I'm not expecting perfection, it's an older building with flaws. But I stay in enough hotels to know what I like and I don't care for this place.

Thank you for posting your impressions after your recent stay, especially for mentioning of the closeness to the airport as well as the wall mounted toiletries. I am sorry to hear that you had reasons to complain about your stay and it saddens me that we could not exceed your expectations. We have one of the best breakfasts in the area, and so that we can continue with that reputation I will like to ask you what can we do different with our breakfast to meet your standards. I definitely will be talking with our staff concerning their sympathy and interest towards our guest, that is not our standard and I can assure that I will take care of that personally. Unfortunately the mysterious smell is control thru the heating and A/C ventilation system and the smell changes as the seasons change; Although we do not get many complaints pertaining to the scented air, I do recognize that everyone sense of smell can be a little indifferent and I have contacted the company directly so that they can dial the smell back a little. We were originally built in the late 1980's and due to the architecture all rooms are different in form and size, and not the standards of a four star hotel and I definitely apologize for that. I also will like to express our regrets that our recent décor change does not exceed your expectations, we just finish a partial renovation and our lobby, breakfast area and room décor are less than a year old and we continuously have ongoing renovations projects so that we are able to meet or exceed our guest standards and expectations. We do enjoy all feedback rather good, bad or cantankerous, without reviews or our guest stopping by the desk to give us feedback we will never know where we need to improve and improvements are any business ultimate goal. The beds were very comfort and the room was clean. There was shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispensers which I have never seen in any hotel. Breakfast was wonderful. "Richmond Airport Hotel"

Hotel was located, not far from the Airport. The accomodations were nice with good working space and a nice comfortable bed. The hotel is located in a decent area near an Arby's, Waffle House, Mexican Restaurant and not far from all the other chain restaurants. The Hotel is very clean and very comfortable. I was surprised that I didn't hear planes flying by every 10 minutes are so. It was a fairly quiet, peaceful stay.

I have stayed here many times. As usual great stay.Shuttle service fast and driver very nice. Nice location. Great staff. Hotel clean, bed very comfortable. Rooms clean. I cannot say eniugh good things about this hotel. Thanks again.

"Okay place for one night"

This review was balancing between average and poor... While we were on our honeymoon we had to fly from Richmond Airport. This was our (cheapest?) hotel of choice; and it's okay. That's all, the room is okay, across the street there's a burger king (which is awesome in our opinion ;) ); the service was not really nice or customer friendly. But it got the job done... Cool hotel to get on your flight for one night, not much to do in the neighbourhood; okay area to stay in.

"Not the hotel of my choice!"

I called at more than a month in advance to book a room,asking for a first floor room because of the large amount of business equipment I must bring into my room.My stay was to be for 7 days.My request was not honored,I was given a second floor room.There was no way I could dolly my stuff up the small ramp and then into the cramped elevator,then around a corner through the narrow halls.The room was so small there would be no room for my equipment.There was hardly space between the bed and the desk.The bath was small and this place is OLD! To top it off I am a woman alone and they gave me a door in my room that adjoined the next room,That is a huge safety issue to me.I will NOT stay in that type of room with all my equipment in there.I immediately went to the desk,and canceled my entire stay,but I had to pay for the first night,even though it was only 4o'clock.The desk clerk was rude and very unprofessional.I did not feel safe there,in any way.How this is considered Best Western Plus is beyond me.It is old,worn down,small hallways,small eating area and an almost non existent check in area.This causes me to reconsider my future reservations.This was a very bad experience!

On behalf of our Hotel, please accept my apology for your unpleasant stay. We strive to ensure our patrons experience the best visits possible during their travels and I am sorry that you feel that we fell short of our goal this time. We take every complaint seriously, and it saddens me that you were disappointed. Although you called us a month in advance with a request we are not able to guarantee that the request will be honor. We only have a certain amount of rooms on the first floor and depending on the amount of stay overs from previous guest, we might not have availability on the first floor. Our hall ways and rooms are standard for the hotel business in this area. We do have connecting rooms with double doors in-which each room has there own one sided lock, leaving no access to either room unless open up by each individual party. I do apologize that you had a lot of equipment to bring with you and that the second floor was not suitable for you. "Good place for one night ""

We reserve 2 rooms, for my son and me. Really very clean ,comfortable beds,nice bathroom. Free breakfast, enough food. ,but the eggs and sausage was terrible.., The staff let us ck in early them 3 pm.Very close to the airport and restaurants. They have a suttle bus to the airport ,but we had a rental car.

"Family overnighter"

We were needing connecting rooms as we had children that needed separate beds, and this definitely met our expectations! I was really surprised at the cleanliness and appeal of the rooms for a smaller hotel! WE normally stay in this area 2/3 times a year for tournaments, and will never have to look at another hotel again! The price was very reasonable, the breakfast was quite diverse, and easily accessible! Thank you!

"Okay Motel, bt not really One I would choose again."

I liked the customer service here, however, this is not the most comfortable in terms of the beds in their rooms. Plus the bathroom had an odd odor to it. I would not return to this motel. One point that I will make is the hallways on the different floors are very narrow. I had a cart with our luggage on it, and it was difficult to squeeze by the housekeeping cart.

I deeply apologize concerning the bathroom that is not our normal practice and I will personally make sure that it does not happen in the future. The bumpers were place on the carts so that our guest will not be able to hold them hostage in the rooms all night long preventing other guest from having a luggage cart to assist them with their luggage. good location to highways, close to airport, plenty of food options nearby and the breakfast was very very good. I was very impressed with the customer service and the breakfast options (not your typical continental basic breakfast). Also the availability of hot beverages 24hrs is a great plus!

"long weekend"

My son & I were in Richmond for a sports event, and were there for 4 nights. This hotel was great, friendly staff, clean & up-to-date room, and good full breakfast, & the kitchen staff were very nice & kept the food stocked. My only issue was that there was no bureau or drawers in the room, and considering we were there 4 days, it would've been nice to completely unpack my suitcase for that time. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this facility.

Not five star but definitely a comfortable stay. Affordable close to local eateries and exceptional customer service. I went to visit my daughter in college and needed an inexpensive place for the weekend. This was good for the price and I would definitely stay there again.

"Awesome stay"

This is a very clean, friendly and helpful Best Western. There are a lot of dirty hotels in the area and it was very pleasing to walk into this hotel. It is tucked in off the main road and so very clean.

An exceptional experience at an airport hotel. Our luggage arrived on a flight after we did. The shuttle driver drove me back whenever I wanted and then returned to pick me up after I collected it. The breakfast was the best I have ever had as a complimentary breakfast. The shuttle in the morning was not on a schedule but whenever I wanted to go. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The

Very nice location. Clean hotel inside and outside.Staff were professional, helpful and courteous. Room was clean, everything wokred properly. Beds comfortable. Shuttle to Airport was prompt and very close to the Airport. Enjoyed my stay and will be back soon.

"Better than average Best Western"

Close to the airport. Was picked up quickly by hotel van. Free, adequate breakfast. New TV with wide selection. Mini-market close. Fast food close. Irritating internet: Had to sign in with password every time I turned the computer on and sometimes even when I had not used the computer for 20 to 30 minutes.

"2015 UCI World Championship Road Races"

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the bicycle races downtown Richmond. The location was handy away from the traffic downtown. The first impression as we drove by the driveway was a bigger sign would be helpful. Then the hotel next door with a chain link fence around it did not look good or encouraging. The Legacy Inn was closed inside the fence. The BW doesn't have much control over that. The lobby was clean and the check in process went fast. We got there before check in time but they had a clean room on the first floor. The breakfast area look good with plenty of seating. The days we ate breakfast the man who worked the area was pleasant and friendly. He talked to almost everyone. There were many people from all over the world here for the races and he interacted with them The room was clean but the bathroom wall beside the tub had a spot where the sheetrock did not look so good but the bathroom looked clean other than that. I liked the room being separate from the bathroom with the sink with the tub. The sink passed my stopper test when it held water while I shaved. The A/C worked well but the desk position was too close and I turned the A/C off whenever I sat at the desk. My wife woke up during the night when someone slammed their door and the thin wall did not silence when the people next door used the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the wi-fi was fast though we had to reconnect every 3 or 4 hours. We spent most of the days away at the races downtown and the maid service cleaned while we were away. They did a good job. The hotel is average. It is an older property and in places shows its age.

"Worst bed I have slept in a long time "

Although it looks like this hotel has been remodeled and the room was nice the bed sagged in the middle and was very lumpy including the pillows. I probably got 2 hours sleep. Next time I will drive down for the early morning flight instead of getting a room nearby.
