« Plenty of room for improvement »

A fairly new hotel that has a lot of good potential. I love how bright, spacious and well ventilated their lobby area is. I love how there are a lot of seating areas available too. One of the downsides for me is the mezzanine floor where buffet breakfast is being served. If you're a big group you'll have to take turns to get a table. Contrary to the spacious lobby, their mezzanine floor is too small that seems to give a cramped feeling. Banquet service definitely failed to impress us in more ways than one. Certainly needs a lot of improvement: 1. Please make sure that basics for setting up are on stock like duct tapes to ensure safety with loose wires. We had to follow up for a few times for the wires on the floor to be secured which gave us the notion that risk and safety management is not necessary for them. 2. It's never okay to leave an event without any staff on standby to attend to the client's concerns. Manpower is definitely lacking in some parts of the event. Clearing of tables took a while too. 3. We had plenty of leftover food so we decided to have it packed and guess what?they surprisingly do not have a paper bag or something decent to pack everything together. The wait staff had the brightest idea, though, to give us a used corrugated box which is not at all decent looking when we asked them how we can possibly bring more than 20 take out boxes and packed sandwiches with us. I don't know about you but it doesn't seem "hotel-like" for me. 4. I don't know if all the wait staff are trainees (because I learned some of them are) but with the service that we experienced, they ALL seem are.

« Trip to the Philippines »

I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Best Western hotel, that is until I traveled to the Philippines. I was shocked to see the quality of this hotel, only because my experience of a Best Western Hotel was cheap and run down many years ago. This hotel is right in the middle of San Fernando and there's a church right across the street. This hotel has a coffee and pastry bar which is very good. This hotel also provides a breakfast buffet. On our second night at this hotel, we booked an in-room massage. The cost of the massage for my wife and I, was 640 pesos per person. ($12.80 US currency per person. That's $24.80 for both of us). Our massage for was 60 minutes. We tipped our massage therapists 200 pesos each. The quality of the massage was excellent. I recommend getting a massage during your stay.

« Could still spruce up but otherwise a pleasant stay »

We stayed overnight in this centrally located and still fairly new Best Western. I'd say the place is promising but maintenance work needs to level up (our room key couldn't power up the room and we had to call the frontdesk, apparently the master power switch needed to be kept on sans use of our key; water from the shower would flow into the rest of the bathroom so caulking would help).Strong suggestion too to bring some local flavor into the breakfast, this being the vaunted culinary capital. All that said, I wouldn't mind checking in here again. It was a comfortable stay (had adequate room to work with strong wifi) and the staff members were helpful in the midst of the kinks.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

This is a new hotel in San Fernando that opened in July 2017. It's a cozy boutique hotel. Room is comfortable with fluffy pillows and sheets, likewise the towels that were in the bathroom. Hygiene kits are provided together with slippers. The entire ambiance is rustic and extremely homey...this, together with the extremely attentive staff, makes one want to stay longer in the hotel. :-) There is a quaint coffee shop where you can get your quick coffee fix. In our case, buffet breakfast came with the room. Options for breakfast are ample, not a lot of options but with 48 rooms, one should not expect too much in terms of options but the quality and taste of the food makes up for it. One will feel so full, that in my case, I had lunch around 1:30 in the afternoon since I was still full from their yummy breakfast. :-) The hotel is so clean and rustic decor, really cozy! It's neighbors are Puregold (in case of emergency supplies), the Our Lady of Sorrows Church is right across. The shuttle to SM Pampanga and Robinsons Pampanga are just a few steps away. Though the hotel is on the main road, we did not experience any noise from the street. Though our neighbor the next day was quite noisy. I am not sure if it's because their voices were really loud. This is an ideal hotel for business people or small families who would want an intimate, relaxing place to call home in Pampanga.

    « Nice new hotel »

I am not sure when this was built but the whole hotel vibe is very new. Clean but not too spacious. I loved the lobby too. The staff are accomodating. Not sure if the hotel has its own restaurant because the small dining area in the 2nd floor is for breakfast area only. But there is a cafe in the lobby, Where's Marcel. The breakfast spread was limitted but enough to make you full. We actually got a discount when they learned that we are on a business trip. Overall, nice experience.

« New Hotel in San Fernando »

I dont normally write these reviews, but since no one has done for this place, I will give my thoughts. The front desk told me the hotel opened in July of 2017, so pretty new. Lobby was clean and staff friendly. I stayed in the "Hollywood" room, not quite sure why it is called that, but it clean and looked nice. on the hotels website this was called a suite, but is really nothing more than a standard size room, not what you expect from a suite. It is advertised as having a king size bed, but in reality is two full size pushed together, which makes for a hard uncomfortable seam in the center of the bed, so pick one side or the other. The room was facing the street, so i expected some street noise, but they could have done a better job of sound reduction. it almost made no difference if the windows were open or closed, the sound was loud. I had a problem with the fridge, it didnt work - i asked housekeeping to look at it and then told the front desk - i was there for a week and never got fixed. The bathroom was fine, nothing special, but clean. My only issue was when you took a shower, the water was either very hot or very cold, couldn't get it to be warm. ended up having to wash up in the transition from hot to cold - wasted alot of water on that. The internet WiFi worked well :) The free Bfast was minimal, but after two days, I was doing bfast at McDo's next door. one day they left a note that they were going to test the generator during a six-hour window, no problem. The next morning, a note was pushed under the door they were going to "test" it again. I asked why are they testing the system now, shouldn't that have been tested 3 months ago before the hotel opened? sorry sir... when the power was shut off for the second day of "testing" the lobby was cool with aircon - while paying guests suffered. The day after the second "test" at about 4am, there was a brown out, all power was out in the area and the generator that was worked on for two days didn't work - i woke up sweating. while this hotel is much easier for me then fighting for traffic in MNL, having a warm shower and better food options means i will go back to to my regular place -CP in Ortigas. The price i paid for my room here is the same as CP, so i dont feel this was the best value. Overall, not a bad place to stay, but makes you long for somewhere else
