So awesome!! The breakfast is exactly what you need to start the day plus all of the staff is amazing! I was lucky enough to meet Gina and Jocelyn at the front desk! The are so helpful and pleasant also John in housekeeping was super sweet!!! This is my go to staycation! Make sure to sign up for rewards!
Gina, lobby staff person was very courteous and kind. She was informative and made us feel at home. Thank you for the excellent customer service. This location is in close proximity to downtown SD and surrounding communities. The neighborhood vibe is chill and relaxed.
Malea works at the front desk she's so helpful and I'm glad she is there to get me checked in. The rooms are great very clean I love the bath tubes in the bathroom also like how I can park right in front of my room when I'm on the first floor. Thank you
Where do I start! First I booked a queen size single bed room when I entered the room it was cramped and small at best the bed was a double! Second the room had so much air freshener sprayed into the room we had the door and window open to try to air out the room. That did not work! Third they put air freshener in the air/ heat conditioning to mask the bad smell of the unit.
GO GINA …… Gina was beyond amazing and very helpful from checking in and always assisting with upgrading to a bigger room . Customer service was beyond excellent and the room was very clean . Gina you made my stay great and I will definitely be back thanks again Gina you need a raise
Gina has excellent customer service went above and beyond to help in any way she can. Even brought me a pump when I caught a flat in the lot. Would definitely come back again. Rooms clean and spacious. Breakfast was decent as well. Overall a great stay.
Gina was amazing and incredibly helpful at the front desk. Wonderfully nice as well. She helped check us in early and helped me with any and all complaints or questions I had regarding the hotel. She made both the check in and stay experience wonderful!!
I have stayed at this motel several times.Motel is clean and safe. Staff is very friendly and courteous, especially Jeremy at the breakfast room. He keeps the breakfast room clean, food and coffee are hot. Jeremy is an asset to BW. The room is a bit small but, updated and location is excellent. I would recommend anyone who is on a budget and wants a clean and safe place to stay.
Friendly and uncomplicated check in. Clean room and comfortable bed, to less space for our clothes, no wardrobe. A little bit wet smell in the room, I think because of the near ocean. Jeremy makes a great job, breakfast was perfect. Free parking at the hotel. Near to the airport.
The service at the complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Thank you Kissy for an excellent experience. The motel has been upgraded and is adequate for the price. Pacifi Beach is an incredible town. I highly recommend a visit. Please check out Lahainas Beach bar. You'll love it.
My stay was excellent. Gina was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The hotel was clean and my room was perfect. The staff was very professional. I will definitely be staying here again.

Room not cleaned daily as per booking information, requested it and didn't happen”maid must have forgot”. This dreadful habit is not acceptable a room in a hotel should be cleaned daily as without cleaning it's as well to stay air b & b. We will not use Best Western again as they do not do what is advertised. Management disgraceful.
Everything in San Diego is expensive, this BW is an affordable option. "Brand-New" hotel as BW completed renovated this building ~2021. CLEAN floors, walls, trim, caulk, bathroom fixtures. BIG TV. More than fair full breakfast buffet.
I highly recommend this hotel. The room was clean and the bed was actually comfortable. Hard wood floors no dirty carpet. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great lots of options. Very close to Zoo and SeaWorld. What you see in the pictures is what you get! I would definitely stay here again.
I wanted to be close to bicycle riding areas. This was OK for that. I had fairly easy access to the I5 freeway. I went to Coronado Island and Mission Beach from here. Also downtown. There is an IN-N-Out Burger nearby. Don't stop at McDonalds, which is just before IN-N-OUt Burger.
Really enjoyed our stay here although it wasn't a long trip, the location was very convenient and the front desk staff were helpful and kind especially Gina! We loved that it was also a pet friendly hotel. It's right next to a 711 and some restaurants so that was also helpful.
What a wonderful stay . We received the best welcome by Gina when we checked in . Walked in to a clean room that had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Sheets had stains on them! Need to be renewed!Towels also! Noisy location! We're there 7Nights ! Cleaned room 1 time! I had to ask them to clean!Odor in Room of Urine! Breakfast quality not good!Staff are friendly!
Walk in space in the room is very tight towels are mostly with spotting marks or hair on them breakfast was all right but the room is way too small not enough seating location was excellent very close to Pacific Beach , LaJolla, Torrey Pines
The rooms are small, hot, and dirty. The management staff is lazy, dishonest, and extremely unprofessional. I checked into my room to find two swarms of gnats. When I spoke to the front desk manager, Malea, about the issue the next morning, she laughed in my face and said, "That's what happens when you stay at a pet-friendly hotel." I came back to my room in the evening to find that the bugs had made themselves comfortable on the sheets of my bed. Malea had never sent anyone to the room to take care of the issue. I was finally able to get someone to come and fumigate the room, but there were still stragglers that would pop in the early morning and late at night for the rest of my stay. When I checked out, I asked Malea if I would be reimbursed for the bug issue. She said I should get an email in the next few days. A week later, I called the property to inquire about the reimbursement. Malea denied that I had ever stayed at the property, denied that there were ever bugs in my room, and denied that I had ever spoken to her about the issue. I was transferred to the general manager, Charles, who promised to refund me 20% of my total bill. I waited another week, but I had not received a refund. When I called the property again, Charles said he would speak to Malea and take care of the situation. Another week went by, and I still had not received a refund. I called the property again and spoke to Charles. He confirmed that I was supposed to get 20% refunded, but Expedia needed to approve the transaction. I was not told this information until after I had been in contact with management for weeks. I got in contact with Expedia, who then contacted the front desk of the hotel. Malea did not transfer the representative from Expedia to Charles the general manager. Instead, she lied and stated to Expedia that I was to be refunded less than 5% of my total bill. It is now over a month since I checked out of the hotel, and this issue has still not been resolved. I have tried to contact Charles over the phone, but his voicemail box is full. Malea has refused to transfer me to him. I am completely disappointed and shocked by not only the sanitary conditions of the hotel, but also how they treat guests with their valid issues or complaints. I would strongly recommend staying at a different hotel if you are staying in the San Diego area. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.
The best service and friendly staff front desk lady by the name GINA deserve raise she went above and beyond just amazing all around. The rooms and the area was in excellent condition well kept clean early check in was the winner for us my family and friends will most definitely return..
Me and my partner stayed one night at SureStay San Diego. We we were checking in into the room, a guest was complaining about roaches in her room. We brushed it off, just assuming the young lady was being overly dramatic. We settled in our room and a very very large rodent sized roach crawled up the curtain. It was super gigantic. We called for assistance or some bug spray to handle the situation. The staff insisted they would come to help and never showed up. We were stuck in the room with this very large roach until we left.
Arrived at the surest at hotel in San Diego pacific beach and was able to check in early Gina was great have us information about the area wifi as great and breakfast will come back again next yet thanks
Lovely place and great location. Room was very spacious and clean. Gina was a great help during our stay and made check in and check out very smooth and easy. Would definitely recommend to anyone else that is staying in San Diego. We will be back
Newly remodeled rooms with the same amenities you'd expect a pricier hotel like a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator. Very clean and everything was in working order, even the A/C was quiet. Easy parking, same breakfast as Hilton for half the price. Very friendly, professional staff. Will definitely return!
The staff were very professional and expressed great customer service. Very accommodating when we needed them to hold our luggage and let us charge our phones. I would definitely recommend. The room was lovely with very comfortable beds and space. Bathroom was top quality.
When checking in you have to sign a form (If you do not understand English very complicated) without this form signed you can not check in! So you have to sign it so you can stay overnight! it says that the beds are always made only the 2nd day, but you do not understand that if you do not understand English, besides, you can not check in if you refuse to sign. Other hotels respond to customer requests! However, this hotel has in the recipes a lady who is only out to quarrel! Furthermore: Above the bathtub is a container for Duch utensils attached. That has loosened and has fallen down! WC flush does not work, reception very unfriendly lady! Room cleaning always only every 2 days, we are not used to since we have at home every day a cleaning, other hotels go this request after every day! . Signature on a paper that you do not understand! The driveway floor to the hotel is so sloped that one with a long car on the underside grazes, you have to know where to drive. I will consider booking a Best Western hotel again. Best thing is the location. Parking was limited. Sheets were rough; beds okay. Our room was never serviced even though we were told it would be done every other day. A/C worked good. Staff not friendly and seemed put out to assist with a request for more towels. Over priced for what you get.
Customer service is terrible, apart from cleaning. I stayed at this hotel with my husband and my 4 month old baby. The first night I killed a cockroach walking on the headboard of the bed, almost on my husband's head. So I tried to go to reception and ask to cancel my reservation, that's when I discovered the worst customer service of my entire life! The woman who claims to be the hotel manager turned my day and night into a nightmare. I spent hours on the phone with booking and the hotel chain. And everyone agreed to cancel, only the front desk, the one who called herself a manager, (which I found out she wasn't) wasn't willing to cancel, saying it wasn't in the rules. She left me for almost an hour holding my baby standing in front of her, waiting to be attended to. Besides being rude, not solving my problem, and yelling at me, in front of my baby. At night more cockroaches show up, so I got to film… and the next day they had no choice, they had to authorize my check out. The hotel, besides being dirty, has the worst service I've ever had. Had to expose my 4 month old baby to bugs because a person who lied to be a manager was unwilling to cancel. It's is not a family hotel at all. Do not book this hotel. It was a nightmare.
Great service provided by Mrs. Gina and Mr Malea. Made my stay accommodating and made me feel at home away from home. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Good wifi too. Great location very close to mission beach and alot of restaurants.
My girlfriend and I had a great stay! Gina and Malea were fantastic and took care of us! Would definitely stay here again! We were taken care of throughout our stay and they helped us for staying another night on our vacation. They made the hotel a great experience. Especially the Hotel was clean and had parking everytime I came back!
Very convenient location right off the 5 freeway. Rooms are new, clean, nice with everything you need including an Ironing board. An amazing grab and go breakfast is included with your stay. Scrambled eggs and sausage, cereal, juice and fresh fruit, make your own waffles, bagels and toast… totally recommend this hotel and the price is fantastic for the area!
The room is nice and clean. The staff I spoke too, especially Gina, was very helpful, making sure we were able to get into our room, even though we we early. The room was as pictured and everything that was promised was included. Would stay again!
GINA was a huge help along with her manager when I booked my room for the wrong dates. Very kind, curious staff, friendly and helpful. The motel is all brand new renovated, I've always enjoyed my stay at Best Westerns all over San Diego and appreciate their attention to detail. My room smelled very new and clean, the beds were made with crisp clean white bedding, nice huge tv with lots of variety for channels, close to the beach and the bay. They have a clean designated dog walking area with plenty of dog rubbish bags. Prices are reasonable, Gina is a lovely kind and curious lady, very understanding, friendly, and down to earth. Thank you sure stay for being so accommodating. I work in a five star hotel and this best western certainly replicates their desire to accommodate their guests as the 5 diamond hotel I work for treats our guests.
Really enjoyed my stay. Hot water for the bath is piping hot, wifi fast and functional, Gina at the front desk was gracious and helpful during my stay. Also pet friendly with no pet fee which is a big help. Highly recommend
Been staying here off and on for a few months for work. I keep coming back for the same reasons. Convenient location, good value, and beach weather. Malea at the front desk is always accommodating too!
Decided to extend our stay for an extra night. Malea at the front desk was extremely helpful. Even helped me out on where to go shopping! Great friendly staff. Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable. Make sure to order room service. Food was amazing and portions are big. Recommend staying here.
This is an older motel but is adequate. The rooms are small, especially if the room has two beds. It is furnished with a microwave, refrigerator and a small desk. The rooms are clean. Breakfast offers waffles, eggs, bacon and sausage, plus continental items.
This place is awesome. The rates are fair and they are pet friendly! The staff is awesome (shout out to Malea & Moises) who have been extremely helpful and accommodating my entire stay (had to stay a month while in between places). I highly recommend this place and give it 10 stars rather then 5. Oh and the location is really convenient for getting on and off the 5 freeway which is a real plus. -Brian
My hotel stay was respectable as was staff. Breakfast was your usual bk fare. I appreciated my remodeled bathroom with a tub and hot water. I found my pillows nice and comfortable as was my bed. A very good Thai restaurant was next door as well a Sushi restaurant. 7/11 always saves the day for necessities and snacks also next door. I did not use the small pool but it was full and clean. I appreciated my stay for 3 days.
I've been having to stay at this hotel due to some moving issues but the staff here has made it a breeze. Everyone at the front desk is so amazing and welcoming especially Malea! She always went above and beyond by having my room keys made and everything ready to sign. I definitely recommend staying here whenever you need a hotel to stay at in San Diego!
My family & I reserved a room here for 3 days this was our first time visiting San Diego when we checked in the room wasn't clean the floor wasn't swept or mopped the a.c barely worked & it leaked water on the outside so we had to walk in a puddle coming in or out the room, the electricity went off in the whole hotel for 5 hours & we suffered in the heat with our window & door open until it came back on, I spoke to the manager (Jordan mauck) about our Awful time there & he assured me that he will refund us a discount & it would take a few days to receive it that was the last time I spoke to him & he wouldn't return my call so after 3 weeks of numerous calls & speaking to different people about the situation finally a guardian angel named Gina answered my prayers & gave us the discount that was promised to us, this was our first & last time at this hotel & I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there !!
Response to the conference person... It's the beach it's the beach setting it's the Beach area it's not the conference area if you are going to a conference in San Diego you stay downtown and you're right there at the conference center and your rooms are going to be a lot nicer and cleaner because everybody at the beach goes to the rooms Sandy FYI This hotel is sweet! I stay once in a while. I live in P.B., and gotta get away sometimes and have a change of scenery from home so I am at the beach pretty much 24-7 and it's just perfect! And thank you again to all the wonderful employees I will be staying here again and again and my friends will hear about it and come! Thank You for the great experience! Relaxing stay and totally delightful! Mahalo♥️
Overall not a positive stay, and we definitely feel like it was not worth the price we were charged. The room itself was very small, and we had only been given one body towel. Even though we had listed in our reservation that we had 3 adults in the room. The shower was difficult because of how inconsistent the water temperature would be. No matter at what level it was at, the water would go from freezing cold to extremely hot. The fan in the bathroom did not properly work, which was disappointing considering how loud it was. One of the bed sheets had an odd orange stain on the corners. The pool was virtually useless. Even on the hottest day during our stay, the pool was freezing. We tried sucking it up and just diving in, hoping that it would warm up as we swam around. But no, the water just began burning. And our keys did not work. We had to go down to the office every single night to get them redone. But above all these issues, my biggest complaint was the staff. Some of our issues were fixable, but every time we asked for help from staff it was like pulling teeth just to get assistance. The woman who worked in the mornings was very unfriendly and rolled her eyes at me when I went down to the office to request more towels. On our 3rd day, we called down and requested housekeeping service, again the staff member on the phone huffed, said ok, and hung up before I could explain that we just needed trash taken out and new towels. It didn't end up mattering because housekeeping never came. I called the next morning to again request service and explained that we never got it yesterday. Each time we had to go down to the office to have our key remade, the staff member would act inconvenienced. As though it were our fault that the equipment wasn't working. On our checkout date I called down to the office and asked if it would be possible to get a late checkout, the staff member said no because they only had 1 housekeeper. Understandable, but by 10:50 we were getting phone calls from the front office. When I answered the staff member angrily asked if we were leaving or extending. I repeated that we were still checking out, and before I could finish my sentence the staff member hung up on me. My partner went down to the office to check out, and requested a receipt. The staff member said "no, we'll send you one later via email." I still have not received any sort of receipt.
We stayed 2 days. Room was a little dirty. On second day needed clean sheets because my husband had a bloody nose. Had to get manager involved because housekeeping refused to change sheets. Housekeeper was very rude, embarrassingly so. On the other hand, the breakfast lady, Teresita, was amazing! She did everything she could to make the breakfast enjoyable.
Very clean rooms and Teresita from breakfast was so courteous and made sure breakfast area was clean and all items available warm. Very friendly service from her. Would definitely return wasn't expecting much for price but better than expected.

I stayed for four days while attending a conference in the San Diego Convention Center. Overall, this is not a fancy place but a simple, modern version of the American motel. My room was not large but very clean and very quiet. The usual amenities: fridge, coffee maker, microwave, neither of which I actually used. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast did not blow me away but it was perfectly adequate: fresh fruit (apples, oranges), cereal, hot items (sausage, eggs, fresh-made waffles and toast) etc. I removed one star because two things were a bit annoying. The first: They clean the rooms only every other day, and you have to let them know in the morning if you want it. Fine by me. So I called them at 8am and asked for cleaning and was told that it would be done that day. But in the evening I came home to a room that was NOT cleaned. Aa bit annoying after I got an explicit confirmation. When I called them a day later, the room was cleaned. The second issue was that I could not check out. The office was locked and nobody was there. No doorbell. I banged on the window and the door, nothing. The number given on the webpage is Best Western central reservations. Useless. I needed a receipt for reimbursement purposes but I could not wait for them to show up and miss my flight. None of these are really big deals but annoying. They could have easily won five stars from me but I feel there is room for improvement in customer service, so I removed one star.
I've never had a bad experience at a hotel as an avid traveler, but my stay here was awful. I saw some negative reviews on here but figured I'll be fine since I was desperate for a hotel room. I paid around $250 a night for two nights (WAY overpriced, but found out later it was because of a convention in town i was unaware of) and could barely sleep in the room I was given due to the loudness of the air conditioner unit. I called the front desk to see if they can put me in a different room around midnight and they said they had no open rooms. I got up to use the bathroom and found a BUG in the bathtub. Gross. Suffice to say, I barley slept. The next day I went downstairs and told them if I can get a refund for the second night as I was not going to stay the additional night and they said they could not do anything for me. Terrible, a terrible experience.
I found my stay for be very pleasant. Check-in was really easy. And the gentleman that checked me and was lovely. My room was on the third floor so I didn't have to worry about noise of people above me. And that was really great. I found the room to be very clean and tidy as opposed to some of the reviews that I have read. The only downside I found was it it was on a main road and you did have the traffic noise most of the night but it was a constant low noise so it wasn't too bad. It was petrol stations in McDonald's and also a 711 very close by and also the exit to the freeways as well. Which made it very handy to get to and from places. I would very much recommend this place to stay. I stayed for nights on my own and I had no problems at all.
It was very convenient and close to where we were attending a wedding. Although the staff was superb (everyone was very accomodating and friendly), the room was much smaller that we would have chosen had we have known or seen it in advance.
Close (about a mile) to the areas where we could walk our dog. Short drive to the beach, restaurants & grocery stores. The room was a little small but it is San Diego. The road in front of the hotel could use some pot hole repair to reduce the road noise. We would definitely stay here again.
I have to tell you based on the reviews I was very afraid of staying here. Our landlord picked it for us while we had to have work done on our apartment and the reviews made me very unsure of what we were going to walk into but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff has been nice the entire time, the room was average but the A/C works great (might be some mold in it). The pet friendly hotel is super affordable if you have pets. The room is on the smaller side but I chose the pet friendly two queen beds to make it bigger. The breakfast was better than I expected! In a pinch and for the price I would stay here again. Maybe it's a hit or miss and thats why the review vary but we had a good experience here and I am definitely bougie.
I traveled for business and called Wednesday to see if it would be possible to get an early check in on Friday when I was arriving and was told to call back first thing Friday morning. I called first thing Friday morning (I needed to check out of a hotel in LA - also a Best Western which was much nicer and had a very useful business center and friendly staff - where I had a work event the night prior, then I needed to drive to SD and check in, prepare, and get ready for another work event). The girl on the phone said “I will have a room ready for you at noon - no problem.” I was extremely grateful. After nearly 3 hours of driving, I arrived at the hotel around 12:45pm and she said to come back at 3 to check in - I said “I talked to you this morning when I called about an early check in and you said you would have a room ready for me at noon.” She looked up my name and said, “oh yes - give us another 30 minutes - our housekeeping was just on their lunch break.” If you tell a guest who is traveling & planning around check in time that their room will be ready by noon then it should be ready - and not ready by “1:15pm.” So I asked for the internet code because I needed to do work then asked if I could wait and work in the lobby to complete work for that evening's work event and if there was a bathroom I could use. She gave me the internet code and said I could not work in the lobby or use a bathroom - without any explanation. I thought - how terrible, first the room you say will be ready isn't ready, then you say I can not work or use a bathroom. So I work in my car for about 45 minutes and come back to check on the room. She said, “It still isn't ready. We are having plumbing issues so I can't check you in.” Wow. Okay so I ask “Do you at least have a printer I can use?” “Sorry no.” She said. This staff member seemed unhelpful, unfriendly and did not have a very clean appearance. I left to find a printing station & restroom and returned around 2:30pm. There was a new staff member there who checked me in right away. Thank God. I had just enough time to very quickly get ready and then leave for my work event. The room was fine - not the most comfortable, but I mostly just needed it to work, get ready and sleep. I will absolutely not be coming back to this hotel. I need something more comfortable and reliable when traveling for work, preferably with friendly staff members.
No AC tiny room, dirty room. Only had a one bed because I booked on priceline and they didnt want to change my room to a 2 bed because I made the reservation with a 3rd party, even though I always book with priceline. Last year I stayed at DFW and they changed me to the top floor with a 2 bed at no hesitation. My luggage didnt even fit in the room. They didnt let me cancel and I only stayed one night. I took my loss and checked into the hotel across the street Holiday Inn Express which I had a great experience and it is only 3 miles away from the beach.
I am so thankful Gina, Aracells and Melea were working the front desk during my stay. Not only were they accommodating but they went above and beyond to make sure I had a room available as soon as possible during a emergency. Rooms are very clean and I love that there is a fridge and a mircowave available. Next time I come to San Diego I will be staying here. Thank you ladies for being so kind hearted.

Starting at check in we thought they could have been friendlier. The rooms are very small, very small. Our window didn't lock, bed was super uncomfortable. Pool was full of debris. Breakfast was ok, but juice machine was broken. 2 nights didn't go by fast enough! There is a good taco place accross the street.
It's 80 degrees, a really hot & humid night. I noticed the air conditioner was out so I called the front desk. he said we have two choices we can find somewhere else to stay and get a refund or deal with it tomorrow. No one to fix it, no one to look at it, no switching rooms, no fan, no discount or refund. Take it out leave it. I considered sleeping in my rental car for a quick second.
First clerk to do check in was friendly. However manager Jordan ended up assigning rooms. He made little to no attempt to grant any request such as floor level and change to number of beds even though first clerk said changes could be done. He was curt and no sympathy although he had additional rooms available. Fridge hardly works, and room smells. Not worth the stay.
This is a very nice hotel. Super comfortable beds. Well maintained. Friendly staff, especially Matt at the front desk. Breakfast is a pretty traditional hotel breakfast. The lobby is inviting. Wish there was a canapy to park under to unload in vad weather
The staff here are really friendly and helpful. I left my AirPods in the room and I didn't notice until 3~4 hours after I checked out, so I called the hotel asked them to check for me. I think the front desk person Gina asked the housekeeper and helped me retrieve my AirPods,
Arrived and was met by the wonderful, friendly, and helpful Gina. Gina was very accommodating with allowing me and wife to check in early. Gina was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean, mini fridge, microwave, and AC. Close to 711 for snacks. Highly recommend
Having a relaxing weekend here. Gina in the front office was super helpful, kind, and made sure I had everything I needed. Defintiely a good and affordable place to stay in a pinch. Chromecast on the TV is convenient too
Everything was very Nice and clean. Good included breakfast with fresh made waffels. Nice greetings in the reception by Gina. Very short to everything both beaches and downtown. Would defo recommend it
The room wasn't ready a hour plus after check in. Ac had mold in vents. Common areas were dirty. The beds advertised as queen were not queen. Definitely won't be coming back to this hotel. I thought best western was a safe bet but not anymore.
Gina at the front desk is a superstar. She was super helpful and even gave me a great recommendation in regard to where to take my family while in San Diego. She left a wonderful impression on me on behalf of the hotel. Aside from that, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaints are that parking can be difficult in the evening, and the shower didn't have cold water. I wanted to take a really fresh, cold shower, but the water was basically only warm or scalding hot. No in between. It still wasn't bad enough to take the 5 start rating down to 4. Also come on, free breakfast! I will most likely be staying here again on future SD trips :)

gina was good to us. me and babe stayed in room 222, it was nice. bed was so comfy. we slept amazing. had enough chargers to charge devices. i highly recommend this place to anyone. thank you gina!!! we will come back one day
First off the room was basic, fairly small. We stayed with another couple so two double beds and one bathroom. Breakfast was included but again was basic - cereal, orange juice and coffee. Had to pay extra to use the washing machine and dryer. The cleaners and breakfast staff were fairly nice but the front desk staff were horrendous, Gina in particular was very difficult to deal with. We could not get our deposit back ($100) as the room was under the other couples' name. Our friends who also stayed here, were unable to get their deposit back as they had paid by card instead of cash, surely this should've been made clear on our arrival? Never returning!
While the location of the Hotel is very good, the cleanliness of the rooms, especially bathroom area needs improvement. Walls are thin, thus hear your neighbor and ceiling thin too, as can hear the person above you walking. I will probably not book again and stay with Marriott & Hilton Hotel brands. Stay was pleasant and breakfast extremely average. Breakfast room not 100% clean and a very odd location.
Reception Gina is really nice and willing to help wherever she can, always polite and friendly. The breakfast is good and fresh, the location of the hotel is great and at a convenient location and easy to anywhere. In general, my review is great. We had a great stay here. We loved Gina she was so accommodating and her friendly service made us want to come back again! The breakfast was amazing. Also, the pool is super fun we had a great time getting frozen drinks at the swim-up bar.
Thank you to Gina who checked me in to the hotel. Gina was very kind and let me check in a few hours early i really appreciated that as it was so hot outside with two dogs. I booked a dog friendly room it was modern very clean and perfect for a nights stay. The bed was so comfortable i got a great nights sleep. I don't drive so i used the bus to get around . It's a 10 minute walk to the bus so is the trolley station. If you are looking for a very basic clean no thrills hotel with a good breakfast this place is it. Its in a great location near all the beaches .It's perfect for a place to see everything being so close to a lot of things. Also dogs are free to stay which is a huge bonus.
Gina at the surestay was very helpful got me into a room right away didn't make me wait . Looked like it was really busy but she made it happen thanks Gina ..... Here a few days going to the zoo or the beach just to check it out
We stayed for one night and it was perfect for what we needed. When we checked, we were greeted by Gina. Gina was so awesome on getting us settled in and helped us get our room earlier than expected. She even gave us some recommendations on food and most importantly directed us towards the beach! The room was squeaky clean, but small. Again, like I said for one night it worked for us and what we needed. Thank for the hospitality SureStay and to Gina for being so genuine!
For a cheap motel in this area, I did not expect it to be as nice as it was! First off, it's 10 minutes walking distance to the Balboa Transit Center, which lets you go anywhere in the city for only $2.50. The rooms have been recently remodeled and the shower was especially large and clean. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Good internet for taking video meetings too. Gina at the front desk, the breakfast attendant, and housekeeping were all delightful people. Gina let me check in a bit early with 0 hassle. Smooth transactions, no issues whatsoever, affordable price, and convenient location. Pool is whatever, but who needs a pool when you're right next to Mission Bay!!! You can literally just walk to the beach. For free.
Everyone was super friendly at this motel. The room was clean. Breakfast has waffles, muffins, cereal, toast, and fruit. I was not concerned with safety in the area this motel was located. The room had a fridge and a microwave. Towels and washcloths felt like home. The room was a bit small but we weren't in the room except to sleep!
The wifi kinda sucks. Parking can run out. The shower pressure is very good & strong. The shower water heats quick and responsively. There's no bedbugs or itchy sheets. Gina really went above and beyond to check me in earlier than my designated check-in time. Thank you Gina!!!
My staycation at surestay has been made sweeter by the breakfast attendant Aisha! Great customer service and happy spirits! Clean and amazing kindness from the desk staff as well. I love that the river is nearby as well.

After a fabulous experience in Tucson with friendly, helpful, staff I had high hopes for California. Unfortunately my expectations were not met and my overall experience was disappointing. I am going to chalk this down to the place being fully booked and having new staff. Breakfast, room cleaning and restocking could also be worked on.
Loved this hotel close to everything we needed. Rooms really clean Gina at the front desk very friendly. Not a lot of noise so we sleeped really good. They have a great breakfast my kids loved the waffles.
Good room great value for what you get. Clean well lite up parking lot. Safe area, located close to everything you want to do. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very professional easy to work with. Big tv in the room.
For the price and amenities, this hotel was well worth it. Most importantly, Gina at the front desk was very nice and helpful. I flew in early from NJ and she did her very best to accommodate my early arrival and got me in a room quickly. Thank you so much :-)
Great customer service: Gina at the front desk was super helpful and got me in a room even though I got there much earlier than my check in time. The WiFi on the other hand is not great and disconnects quite regularly, which can be frustrating.
As soon as we walked into check in Gina greeted us with a friendly smile! We mentioned how we'd just driven in from Arizona and we're a bit early and she immediately said she could take care of us with early check in. She was so fast to get us checked in and even took care of another costumer at the sale time with the same hospitality. She let us know about the complimentary breakfast and sent us on our way in less then 10 minutes! Needless to say, she made a grate first impressions at SureStay Hotel.
Malea was super professional and helpful! She is exactly the kind of person I would want working for me if I was a hotel owner. I would go to this hotel again just because of Malea. The breakfast was also good
The sure Stay hotel is very close to the freeways which was a help. the breakfasts were ample even if the seating in the breakfast room was not quite enough for adequate distancing. you can of course take it to your room to eat. Gina at the front desk was marvelous. Had loads of information on the area and was extremely helpful.
We originally scheduled for a two night stay. We arrived in a hurry to make an event and we just put our baggage in the room. My sister wiped down the surfaces w antibacterial pads as usual. In the shower/bath she found a very large wad of long dark hair. We were grossed out and told the management about it and canceled our second night stay. When we got back several hours later after the event we found more hair in the bathroom, a large fly buzzing in the window and another fly sticking to the towels. We were disgusted and told the management about it and that we could not stay. We asked for a refund which they declined. We left and drove back home. Arrived very tired after midnight. I called the next day to speak w the manager. She offered us a 10% discount which I declined
Gina was amazing. You could hear her smiling through the phone. Once I arrived, she was smiling again and upbeat through check-in. She helped me a lot with early check-in so that I could drop my bags off to begin exploring San Diego. Great hotel very close to the nearby beaches, restaurants, etc. No offense to the hotel, but with the location, you will not be spending much time in the room with all the nearby attractions.

I came to San Diego for meeting and looking for a short stay. The hotel was very clean and inside of the room feels new. Gina at the front desk was very kind and helpful while I was checking in and need to extend my stay. The location was not far from the ocean.

For a pet-friendly (no extra charges) budget motel, the property was tidy and felt safe. Housekeeping on request. A basic breakfast buffet is provided, with a variety of hot and cold items, including the fresh Best Western waffles! There's a small pet area with artificial grass, which was kept clean. Located on a very busy street near car dealerships, so not much within walking distance and nowhere pleasant close to the property to walk your dog. Pretty easy access to the freeway.
Hotel is at a great location when visiting San Diego. The staff and managers are friendly and tend to the needs of the guests. Gina, was especially helpful everything from hospitality and things to do around the area. Gina had the best recommendations for best places to try food around the area. Above all just a great place to stay, rest when not sight seeing or at the fabulous beaches! We will be staying here again!
We typically stay at Best Westerns because they are usually somewhat affordable & we don't spend a lot of time in the room. This particular BW is located in Pacific Beach on a busy street with lots of car dealerships around. When the dealerships were open, there was a lot of car horn honking for some reason, which was a little annoying. Overall the hotel is clean, felt safe & usually pretty quiet at night.
Hotel location is very convenient to beach, airport, near the freeway with free breakfast, free wifi and free parking. Cleanliness is really poor. Room for 1 queen bed is very small. Our room smells like urine coming from the floor and TV control not working. Requested the room be cleaned but never did. TV remote control got changed and resolved.
Price MUCH cheaper than most hotels around. Beautiful hotel in a decent and central location that is small, clean, has all the amenities and is affordable. The room has a bathroom with a tub, shower toilet and sink of course. Nice new LCD TV, Double bed, complimentary internet and Breakfast. The free breakfast is a nice food cost savings. If you are staying for less than 1 month, tell them, they will waive the activation fee or discount it to $10 (Basically the cost of the Sim). - From here, take the #30 bus for $2.50 to the hotel OR Grab an Uber for $11.00 to the hotel. Your choice. Obviously the Uber will be faster and easier if you have Luggage. About the Room ___________________ Room seems to be freshly painted, and well take care of. I suggest a mid-drive motor. - Cars are VERY expensive to rent right now (As of 05/17/2022), you are looking at $1000 US + for a week, plus gas, so much for economic to rent an Electric bike. - Be careful where you lock the bike. Lock the front wheel and frame together. Lock it in a very visable place. Remove the battery. Take charger with you if you go in to shop or eat. Some parts of San Diego are great, some need more precaution. Very safe city, but use your common sense. - Most people are friendly and helpful. Enjoy your trip to San Diego!
Good location right off the highway. If they paved Mission Blvd, in this "Gateway" area it would be a better impression for neighborhood - dont be discouraged.to get to SD or PB, breakfast is a great benefit. Staff was helpful. Small property so make sure you check in as early as possible to get a room of your choice.

Hotel was clean, great distance to everything you need, and staff was exceptional. The rooms are small but beds are comfortable and you have enough space for all of your luggage. Highly recommend this location for free parking and breakfast and the 10 minute drive to the beach!
The Sure Stay Hotel is a excellent and clean property. The location is perfect for getting to the beach and yet not too far from downtown and other wonderful attractions, but best of all the location makes for a quiet nights sleep. Gina is an exemplary individual, very accommodating and makes you feel right at home. Gabriel, they say he's an "angel".
Upon check-in, Gina was phenomenal! She took care of me when checking in for both my room and my parents room. She understood what our needs were and worked with us on them. Apparently it was a busy weekend with a military graduation being held close by. So the hotel was full. The hotel itself is in a great centralized area. It is clean, updated, sanitized and has all the amenities you would need for a night stay or a week long stay. I will definitely be coming back!

Gina helped us secure wonderful clean accommodations with breakfast for a great rate. The beds were comfortable. The hotel is centrally located from the beach, UCSD, downtown San Diego, Little Italy, and other tourist attractions. They provided me with a helpful list of popular restaurants near by. The staff was friendly and patient with their customers. Checking in could be overwhelming to some clerks but the staff never lost their courtesy to their guests. I can't wait to return for another visit.
I live in San Diego and needed to move out of my home for 3 days as it was being tented for termites. A quick search of the internet for a dog friendly hotel I called the sure stay in in Pacific Beach and booked a room for me and my three small dogs. When I arrived at the hotel that was conveniently located right off the freeway and within walking distance to Mission Bay Park. The staff was friendly at check-in and the room was nice and clean. Although all the employees were helpful and friendly there was one who stood above the crowd. Special thanks to Gina who was amazing. I couldn't tell you what her position was as I saw her cleaning rooms working the front desk doing laundry and other tasks around the hotel during my stay. No matter what my problem was whether I needed change for the laundry locked myself out of the room extended it another day Gina handled it with a smile. Thank you Best Western Sure Stay Hotel!
There was dust and grime all over every piece of furniture in the room and even on the walls and toilet seat in the bathroom. There also was no ice bin OR garbage can in the room. I will most likely never stay at a Sure Stay ever again.
Stayed one night for business nearby - Newly remodeled room was clean and a great value. Gina at the Front Desk was great! And right across the street from the original Rubio's - wander over for some bomb taco's - can't miss.
This motel is seriously lacking in several areas. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to know how to check in guests. He had me run my credit card 2 times and said it wasn't getting the information even though both times the reader said approved. He called someone to help and she asked me to run it again. I asked if I was going to be charged for each time since it was showing approved and she said oh no never mind it went through. Then I couldn't get the internet to connect in my room and called the front desk. He said it was showing a connection on his end so he didn't know what to tell me. So I had no internet for my stay. The people staying in another room were screaming and talking loud till 3:00 in the morning and nothing was done about it. Stay somewhere else if you can
It's crazy new, extremely clean(my 2 requirements), at a good location and the main reason to stay, JAYSON! He's hilarious, accommodating, freaky quick service, and just an absolute joy when it's the first time you visit CA all the way from OK. Honestly, even if the facility wasn't so nice, I'd stay anyway because Jayson was the perfect "host. Professional, efficient, and will make you laugh. Cheers.

I was greeted by Jayson when I arrived and received great customer service. He was very accommodating, made sure I had everything I needed and called to check on the room when I got settled in. I wasn't sure the heat was circulating in my room and Jayson offered to switch my rooms for my comfort. He was very nice, kept a smile and made me feel welcome and at home. I also had an interaction with Gina the 2nd day as I decided to stay another night. She offered for me to become a rewards member so I may earn points and stays in the future. Overall I had a great experience with this hotel and would stay again.

The place was very clean and upscale, staff was polite and treated us kindly. When there was a discretion regarding my deposit and a smoke detector being covered prior to us arriving, Miss Gina took care of the situation right away, contacted management and got the whole situation straightened out as well as my $100 depost! Clean room, nice decor. Room was as described and great for the price! But above all, the friendly gentleman at the front desk by the name of Jayson was of huge help. Not only was there a friendly smile and great tone, but the knowledge of basic customer service was far bypassed. We hope to have every front desk attendant be like Jayson.
My second stay here at the Surestay hotel by BestWestern was a great one. I met with my cousin for the holidays trying to make something out of this wacky holiday season. Nonetheless I'm 100% satisfied with the place we staying. The service and room were fantastic and I will surely be back for a third stay!

Loveable cheap hotel by the bay. The service and receptionist Jayson was super courteous. He acknowledged my best western status right away and asked if i had any room requests immediately. He made the check in process about me and making me conformable. rooms were clean and modern with MW and fridge. beds are on the firmer side, which I prefer, and the pillows were soft. The internet was very fast testing almost to 50mbs and the tv is a big 55inch samsung. Parking lot is a bit small on north side but the south lot is bigger if your driving a big truck or towing.
Jayson at the front desk was very nice, welcoming, very helpful and courteous. He called twice to insure we had everythingwe need. Rooms are awesome, the price is right, good area, and family friendly. Definitely would stay again.

Great place. Clean accommodating staff was awesome Gina super friendly and helpful. I thought I lost my paycard and she was searching just as frantically as I was to make sure it was found. It's nice when you're made to feel human and not another receipt for the night. Thank you guys so much. Jason is super friendly and respectful. Always says hi and trys to help if he can.
1. WiFi- POOR; would not recommend planning to work remote from a room here 2. Cleanliness - POOR; the room smelled like death. It appeared clean but it just had this stink of an elderly home. The bath towels were tiny and I had to use 2 to dry off, and one of the towels had visible stains on it. 3. Safety - POOR; I was traveling as a single younger female and was given a first floor room with a hole in window screen. Anyone could have literally just opened my window at any time. Super dangerous and irresponsible on management's part. It is also not in a phenomenal area of PB and there are sus people around. 4. Amenities - OK; they have A/C, a big shower/tub, mini fridge, microwave & flat screen TV. I felt GROSS getting into that bed though. It just seemed like it was not clean & the sheets are soooo scratchy. 5. Staff - AWESOME; the staff were super nice and really the major redeeming quality of the SureStay. They were very helpful, kind and knowledgeable.

Just starting my stay here but it is already a great one. Starting with Jayson who checked me in with a friendly smile(of course behind a mask) and great service. Everything was clean in the room and well taken care of. Would definitely stay here again great prices and awesome location.
Very nice hotel for the price. Great amenities and very clean. Love being able to have fresh coffee in my room in the morning and a big HD tv for relaxing. Came to stay for one night when I normally stay on the beach and I wasn't disappointed. Jayson was the employee that checked me in and he was more than helpful and very kind! Highly recommend!!
Jayson at the office was able to get a larger room to accommodate our two dogs and put us close to our car! Great customer service. Nice and easy stay. If you're looking for a more affordable place for your dogs, this is a good option.
Vanessa and jason made my trip that much better good people to talk to vanessa gave me great option for food in the area and jason will go the extra mile when needed for the hotel as i seen him taking trash out one fay and sweeping property you can tell they both love what they do will be back cause of there service alone

Very nice hotel, people who work are very helpful, the rooms are super comfortable in a good neighborhood close to the beach! I really recommend! We could do check in early and they give us a parking lot inside of the hotel.

I requested a first floor room because i had A lot of things & he accommodated me and also made sure i knew about the grab n go breakfast ! Check in was pretty Easy took a while for my reservation to get through because i had Booked it while pulling up to the hotel. The lobby smells good ! Once i got to my room it was. Clean and smelled good . I will Be extending my stay!

Very friendly & helpful, made my stay feel very welcome for me and my pet! Even though all the pit friendly rooms were taken, key made an exception and found a room for post to stay in. Checking in with very quick and had me in my room in no time!

For the price and location you can't really beat it. The only down side was the loud noises coming from the bathroom plumbing, but Jayson from the front desk was super cool and made sure their staff looked into the issue upon our group checking out. I'd say continue to have good customer service like how Jayson handled himself, and I'll certainly be back on my next visit. Overall good stay, thank you!!
My 2nd time to this location and what a improvement jayson still here red roof was good but suretay is definitely much better improvement im impressed.Great work on the floors and tvs .Been a year or so but when i come back to san diego this will be my go to spot
Jayson has excellent customer service skills. He made me feel welcomed and even checked on me after I got settled in my room to ensure everything was okay. The room is very clean with no odors unlike the hotel across the street that I had to check out of. Overall great experience. I will be staying here again on my next trip! :)
The room smelled like smoke and it was a non smoking room hence the reason the window was open when we walked in first day of stay. 1 roll of toilet paper thank goodness I brought some. Tissue paper had a dirty one sticking out of it. Parking lot had constant people sitting in their cars smoking weed and god knows what else. Lots of homeless hanging around at entrance to parking lot. Construction going on near hotel. Fire alarms going off in rooms and our fire alarm was hanging from ceiling not screwed in. I will not stay here again it's not worth the money that was paid.
My stay has been amazing so far, starting with the most efficient check in process I've ever been apart of. I had the pleasure of being checked in by Jayson. He was friendly, extremely detail oriented and efficient. I think from start to finish the whole check in process from charge to signitures was maybe 6 minutes. I appreciate it because it had been a long day and I was ready to relax. Even running into Jayson going out to my car he asked "how everything was so far." It is because of people like Jayson that I know I will return and I will refer my family and friends to this very hotel. He treated us with respect and was personable all at the same time. I happen to be a travel consultant for AT&T wireless and United Airlines and i can't wait to rave about this hotel and Jayson to all my employees. He definitely needs a raise...

My stay here was good. Room was small but overall okay. Unfortunately, there were other hotel guests who were loud, both in their rooms and outside the hotel. Jayson working at the front desk was very helpful and had great customer service. Thank you Jayson!
Great help and people ! Rooms are nice and cozy great for a night out ! Gina was amazing help and got us to our room in a jiffy! There's a little park to potty your dogs and a pool ! Great weather and close to great beaches !

Without giving too many details, this is a little step up from Motet 6. Just by looking at the building, it's enough to start looking for something else. Even though the room was decent, it wasn't totally cleaned, smell bad. There were people without shirts, guys smoking weed, etc. The elevator was just disgusting. I honestly not recommend this hotel and unfortunately because I was reading Best Western, I made a huge mistake of staying.
Micheal and Jayson helped me the first night i checked in. The neighbors dagdog had opened the door and I kept him safe along with employee Micheal. This was an escape dog the size of a full grown rottweiler anyways that is how this adventure started. We must have waited a good twenty min for the owner to show up It truly is the people that can make a place so much better or worse in this case I cant emphasize enough how much appreciation for your kindness and how thankful to have met both of you!
From start of check in, Jayson was very attentive and informative. He made my family and I feel welcomed for our stay. He was very helpful and prompt with any request. Will definitely be coming back hear again.
Great spot,great location,and great price.Gina is super friendly and helpful.Enjoyed my stay.The beach is not far.Its right behind sushi ota,that's a great thing!Parking is super easy and there's always parking.
Jayson was an amazing hire for SureStay. Instantly from the moment I walked in until the moment I got sent to me room, I was drawn into the whole ordeal of checking in. If that's even possible. I would come back and stay here again just to have the Jayson interaction. The hotel was really clean as well.
● Location - Good and bad. It's close to freeway, just 10 min from PB, 7/11 right next door and actually good restaurants nearby (Japanese, Rubio's and Thai). SeaWorld and La Jolla were easy to get to as well. Sometimes there's traffic to go to PB. My husband and I have never done it but you can take the electric scooter to PB. ● Rooms - 1 bedroom is tiny. It's a shoebox. If you're staying for a while, make sure you get two bedroom. Also, it's very noisy. The fridge, noise from other rooms and the road are pretty bad. (My cat is very skittish and he had an anxiety attack on the first two nights) ● Staff - 'Jayson' is AMAZING! This is the reason I'm writing this review. I really want to emphasize to the manager how kind Jason was. There's a crazy woman staying at this hotel now (Oct, 2020). She was in the room next to ours. She's really, mentally ill. She harassed me and my husband in the morning. In the evening, she accused us of trying to steal her stuff in her car and threatened to hit/kill me. We went to talk to Jayson and thankfully, he moved us to a different room. He was very helpful and he was there when we were moving our stuff and made sure that crazy woman wouldn't bother us. Jayson, thank you so much. If it weren't you, we would've checked out from this hotel immediately. 'Vanessa' : Oh, Vanessa. Why did you lie to us? Vanessa doesn't care at all about the customer and the pets. She's just really indifferent and has zero customer service attitude. First, we went to see if we can move to another room because our cat was too anxious in that room. We slept only 2 hrs. she said there's no pet friendly room upstairs. (She said "I apologize if Jayson gave you wrong information but we don't have pet friendly room upstairs") Later, we found out that was not true. Few days after, we had to extend our stay so we went to ask Vanessa if there's any upstairs pet friendly room available. She didn't even check anything on her computer and immediately said "No, it's not possible." WTH??? Can you just pretend to check??? I asked "Is it fully booked?" then she answered "Yes, they are." And look at this, now we're in upstairs pet friendly room with help from Jayson. ● Amenities - I think there's a pool (we never used it). There are washer, dryer and ice machine. There are shampoo and body soap. There are almost always parking spots available but the size is a little tight.
Lovely check in! Made us look forward to our stay and felt intimate and neighborly. Would definitely recommend! We have been to SD several times and this has been my favorite experience. Also the rooms are gorgeous with wood flooring. Different from other hotels and very clean. ✨
Spotless room, enormous bathroom. Jayson at the front desk was prompt, quick, and even waived the deposit. I arrived very late. There's an elevator that accesses all floors. And it's a quick walk to In N Out

The room was nice! The trip was great! Gina was very helpful and we received great customer service. Room #226, flat screen tv and has a large restroom. The water was hot when I turned to left and cold when I turned the handle to the right when using the shower. My daughter loved the painting displayed on the lime green wall. Very modern and up to date. Great price without hidden fees.
Jayson was the one who checked me in. He was very accommodating and personal. Made sure I had everything I needed before I went to my room and I get very comfortable with him. My room was nice and I am happy with the location and amenities.

Our hotel was clean and was perfect for a one night stay on our move down to San Diego. Check in was quick and easy. Jayson was so friendly checking us in and answered all of our questions. Would recommend it for a clean place to crash.

I have stayed at this hotel twice for a 4 day stay. The two times there I dealt with Gina, who is an absolute rude, phony little girl. I cancelled my last reservation with them because she is so rude and unprofessional. She told me when I came at 3pm to come back in a half hour because the room isn't ready. But she had started processing my transaction, and did not like something I said, or something, and then she said the room was not ready. Which I did not believe. When I asked her to explain why it was not ready, she told me she was not going to argue with me, and would call the police if I did not leave. So I left and cancelled the reservation. And my suspicion was confirmed, that this person is rude, and takes customers for granted, and I am thankful I don' have to see her face again.
Thank the staff at the sure stay hotel in pacific Beach for the nice welcome.. the service is great the pool is open Gina at the fronnhwlps us get a nice room. The wifi is great the room needs more space a little to small but okay

Nice place and good atmosphere. First arrived BigJ welcome us with a big smile and helped us through the process as well as recpmmending places to eat before asking him. New renovated room and hooked us up with two spot for now since the lot is still not filled. Say hi to big J when you are here next time. Cant missed him.
Customer service was 5 stars, Jayson checked me in, and helped me with all my questions . The room is clean, nicely designed and had everything I needed. The only thing they could improve is the breakfast.
Had a nice little room. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay. It's clean and quite close to the beach. Very colorful interior design. There's a small pool outside as well but I didn't get a chance to try it out.

I have been coming here once a week all summer and Jayson is always super helpful. From luggage to bikes, coffee or TP! Is also like the setup of the hotel as I can back my truck up to my door on the 1st floor. I have paddleboards and paddles and its nice to be able to keep an eye on them. Never had a problem with theft here either.
We stayed 3 nights and our room was very comfortable and clean,check in was easy and the staff is very nice the worst part is the parking it fills up very fast and overflow parking is in the very busy street. But overall a nice simple place to rest when traveling.
I was assisted by Jayson whom was very helpful and made check in smooth and fast. Everything was a breeze and with the pandemic ..everything seemed pretty clean. I will return in the future and also refer others.
Just want to write this review about the service. Jayson at front desk is awesome. His customer service skills are great. He waived the deposit for me which was great as well. Called me to make sure everything was good and let me know if i needed anything to come see him and he would make it happen. Highly recommend this place

I had a last minute work trip and had to book a hotel stay quickly and found this on google and I called the staff and the staff is super helpful I also joined the best Western rewards program. Everyone working there made my stay easy and comfortable. GINA who works In the front desk was very helpful! Enjoyed my stay and definitely will be back for work trips.
Jaysons C/S was amazing. When we checked in the had our room spread apart and he did everything to switch us an Upgrade and right next to each other. Definitely an ppls person! The rooms were clean and fresh.

Formerly Red Roof Inn,rooms are small but good enough for me since im solo,its located by the Bay in Pacific beach area,lots of restaurants nearby,Jayson,receptionist was very nice and polite,not a bad area,would stay here again

When I came in there was stains on the wall and the bed had green and yellow stains on it and the pillows were clean and there was even vomit on the chair and the shower floor had hair and the toilet had piss behind it . Overall I am definitely not going to come back here again.
Prior to to arriving at my hotel things were not going my way and I was experiencing a difficult week and couldn't wait to get some much need rest and relaxation. Upon checking in I was greeted by a true professional named Jayson, he made sure I knew exactly where I need to go and helped my check in experience be a breeze and made me feel like I picked the right hotel with people that truly had my back. Jayson is one of the reason the Surestay will be a no brainer for my travels in Pacific Beach an has become my home away from home, the world needs more down to earth and friendly people like Jayson in it. We made reservations, checked in then after seeing the room checked out and went to another property. While the front desk staff are very, very friendly it does not make up for the negative things. First thing, the room floor was dirty. It's not carpet it looks like commercial vinyl flooring so it wasn't swept very well I guess. The beds are hard and cheap feeling and the room smelled of urine. You can tell this was an old cheesy Red Roof Inn that they slapped a coat of paint on and added Motel 6 room furnishings/flooring. They have ashtray/garbage cans like you'd see in front of a 7/11 on each floors walkways that you've got to navigate around with your cart to get to your room so you can expect cigarette smoke to waft into your room at some point as it did while we were there. My wife almost fell on her face tripping over the raised lip getting in/out of the elevator, it did not stop flush with the floor as it should. In my opinion if you're looking for a cheap sketchy place to stay you've found the right place!
We had been welcomed by Jayson who was very welcoming with a very good energy. He was very kind to us and explained us everything you need to know. You feel free to go ask him anything if you need. The room is very clean and pretty modern.

Great place to stay from check in jayson was extremely helpful and answered all my questions while checking me in in a timely matter .the room is nice and clean and ac works great . Def recommendation to anyone staying in San Diego for the weekend or whatever .
Made the last minute decision to come to SD for the 4th with some friends. I was hesitant, due to Covid, but I'm so glad we chose to stay her. Jayson was so kind and friendly and it was so refreshing to see someone who genuinely enjoys their job. The room was clean, shower was nice and big, and the hotel itself was nice. If you've ever stayed in Pacific Beach, you know how rundown most of the hotels are and I'm happy to report that this was not the case. Will definitely be staying here in the future!

The good: Jayson the receptionist was welcoming and friendly and the price was the lowest you can get for PB or Mission Beach. Located in walking distance to lots of eating options and 7/11. The bad: room was really tiny, not as clean as I'd expect (cleaner swept but left a pile of dirt and a toothpaste cap pushed in the corner, also the floor had dirty footprint marks). The toilet had a leak so it ran every 5 minutes. Oddly there was no trash can in either the bathroom or room. 1st floor location was noisy with sounds of traffic and people coming and going, but with the AC on we were able to drown out the noise. We booked on the surestay website and requested a pet friendly quiet 2 bed room, but upon checking in, that wasn't available. The room we got wasn't what we reserved, yet we still had to pay for 2 beds. Finally, the neighborhood has a few homeless people right outside. We knew that going in so it was fine.
Check in was quick and easy. Jayson was super helpful. Very welcoming and gave us insights on where to go. Our room was very clean and nice and cool when we got in. Perfect location, near the highway and not far from Pacific beach too. Free parking is a bonus. Will definitely stay here again just because of the hospitality Jayson showed us
Jayson is very understanding and let me park my 2nd car . Gave me good directions on the beach's and the places to go and he seemed very nice and respectable and also I enjoyed the new rooms and I enjoyed my hotel .

Got a last minute booking at what I thought was a red roof inn but is now a SureStay. Jayson, the hotel manager, was a big help getting my room and everything I needed for my stay! Will definitely return here. This place is always clean, one of my go to's while in San Diego.

Im big on reviews ! Jayson was so amazing ! We came and got a little scared because the parking lot does not have a lot of light n the hotel changed from Redroof to Surestay . But he really helped us out and convinced us to say showed us around and we were glad to stay . He had an amazing uplifting personality! Will be coming again when I take another trip Thank You !
