I reserved an accessible room and none were available. No refund was provided either. Terrible customer service! I called customer relations with Best Western and was given an apology and a promise to look into the error. I won't be a returning guest to any Best Western. My safety is not a luxury request!
I reserved 3 rooms, the sink would not drain in one room, the shower would not drain in the other room. Stains on the walls and in shower, entire hotel was hot like the ac wasn't running. There was a dead bug on the pillow. Overall it wasn't horrible but not great. Probably will not stay again. The staff was fabulous!!!
I was wrongfully accused of having a prohibited pet on premises. Upon booking I disclosed my service animal online in the comments area . I arrived late at check in, went to my room and left the following morning with no issues nor concerns. Upon leaving the parking lot I was approached by staff and accused of having a pet. Threatened for violating their pet policy. Upon contact I explained that my dog was not a pet but rather a service dog needed for my disability . My service animal was wearing a tactical type vest with a service animal tag (which is not required) but helps identify. By law there are two questions that an establishment can ask a person. Neither of the questions were asked during contact. I then followed up with management to ensure I was not wrongfully charged for a violation. Instead, I was attacked by email. The hotels Manager gave me a class on ADA laws in which I was in compliance during the duration of my stay. The manager then accused me of having my dog off leash "running around". These accusations were false and I challenged them with the Cooperate office. I asked that the accusations be looked into. Also, that the staff at the near six flags location be educated on AdA laws dos and donts when it came to service animals. Lastly that I be reimbursed for my stay being wrongfully attacked, lied about and having to defend myself . Cooperate told me they could only "advise" and that they could not speak to me any further due to conflicting stories. My complaint was based on mere facts. The BW six flags location and Best Western as a whole did not hold to their mission statement when it came to their customers! End result I was placed on the "do not rent or stay list". I am a disabled veteran and my service dog is needed to aid me in my day to day life. My status as Diamond select member made no difference either. No one deserves this type of treatment, veteran or not! Eddie
Gave them another try and it was impressive. The hotel is clean and the staff are amazing. Near six flags clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere as well only downside at check in there is long process but it is well worth it as the service is impeccable.
The staff is so friendly! This was our second stay with them and everything was wonderful. We plan on coming back and staying with them for our future family vacations. The kids loved it and the staff would greet them as well! Overall very clean hotel. It's location is perfect!
First of all, it is a nightmare to get to this hotel off the freeway and turn onto Woodstone off the Access road. Upon leaving the hotel, you can only make a right go up the street take a U-turn and come back down towards I 10 interstate. The items on the hotel are rationed by the staff. When asked for extra items such as towels to replace the wet ones, I had to use to clean up the wet floor in the shower because the curtain would not stay put. Breakfast items are limited. The multi leaner used is overwhelming and smells like a very cheap version of Fabuloso. Will not stay here again.
The Best Western Inn and suites Medical center in San Antonio Texas;has been a blessing!!! First the quality of the staff is absolutely the number ONE reason, I felt so secure and welcomed. I was having issues outside and needed guidance for a lengthy stay. Upon arrival I literally did not have a clue about the property. I approached the front desk and the general manger Toya welcomed me with open arms , as well as making my accommodations over the top. The staff Relish who handles the front desk works so hard, he is extremely accommodating . Alex who handles all the maintenance, and basic needs in the room always goes above and beyond the standard expectations. Jesus the night shift desk is a delight. All the housekeepers, Bee, Kimberlee, Natlish, all deserve notability for making sure are rooms are exceptionally clean!!. I extended my stay knowing I was comfortable, safe, a great breakfast and the list goes on. I am from San Antonio ,I know about all hotels here in San Antonio and hands down this is a perfect spot for any family, as well as a business adventure. The price points are extremely affordable. ENJOY YOUR STAY!!
We stayed two nights. Upon returning the 2nd night there were bugs on the bathroom counter, walls, ceiling and floor. The front desk staff sprayed the bathroom but we were told the hotel was sold out so we couldn't change rooms. After check out I received a call from management that the bugs were flying ants and I had been issued a $30 credit. On a positive note, the front desk employees were nice and helpful and the breakfast had a large assortment of food. I would not stay at this hotel again and regret that I booked directly through the best western website and not a 3rd party so I could have saved money at least.
Great safe place to stay staff is very kind and helpful, breakfast was great and their housekeeping team is very helpful as well. Overall this is a great hotel to stay at. Parking and lighting is safe, they have a great fitness center and pool.
The owners are sucking every dollar out of this franchise while investing pennies in the breakfast and pennies on the upkeep of the rooms and building.
It is what it is, if you go in expecting it to be loud, but very close to Fiesta Texas it is a good stay.
The bathroom sink broke and they said to call them every time we needed to use it. Fortunately I had a suite so we used another sink. My family's face broke out from either the pillow or the sheet. They charged my card twice and said they didn't. H
This hotel had a rating of 10 for many things - cleanliness was one of the ratings. Well, this hotel was not the cleanest we have been at. There was hair all in the sheets. The only thing that was good, was the night check-in clerk. She was really sweet. She came up right away and changed the sheets out. When I checked out, I had asked the clerk to have the manager give me a call. Well, that didn't happen. That is why I have awaited a week to submit the review. I was hoping that he would make things right. I might change this review if he calls.
The hotel is clean and staff was being really nice to me from checking in to check out, I no sleeping much when away from mi home but I also like a little baby. The lady telling me have a good day and be driving careful in the rain was a plus to me, I leaving hotel so who would care I driving careful, she did nice lady.
First time staying here, my mom suggested it. I don't travel often so l don't know much into booking and "insurance fees" . Front desk person seemed to be very impatient while I did ask about the " insurance fee". • I did call my mom to double check about the "insurance fee" because I didn't want to pay twice, again I don't travel often. The guy then INTERFERES with my phone call saying the room was paid, I fully understood that the room was paid. Finally I was glad to pay the fee, but by this time I was already bothered with the way he was talking with me. My 2 kids and dad finally get into our room, I pull out the sofa bed for my son and the sheets were NASTY! I immediately went to ask for clean sheets and I did receive them. Then go into the restroom and see that a broken plug was left in the outlet. Not a very good first time for me...
We enjoyed the hotel it was clean and very comfortable, eventhough it is located off of the highway it it quite and cozy far away from this hustle and bustle of the highway. The staff are very friendly and full of hospitality, we will be returning.
Latoya Avilez is the WORST manager. She is so unprofessional and rude, she will straight up lie to guests. She runs all of her hotels into the ground, she lets staff skip corners on cleanliness. I am absolutely appalled she's still employed by Best Western.
The hotel was clean and comfortable the older black lady at the desk was really nice during breakfast time. The gym had everything I needed including yoga mats.I just wish the pool had been opened but it was not within the season. Next time will be more pleasurable plan to return spring break time.
Nice hotel and very clean is the reason for my rating, however please post on the policy that you do not accept people under the age of 21. This is very discriminatory towards age. Any extra fees associated should be mentioned. Instead of letting the next guest know we are underage as we check in. This was very unfair. The lady we checked out with was amazing and assured the policy will get updated so this will not occur again. My stay was enjoyable and that's all that really counted.
I made a reservation with an option to pay when you stay. I arrived to San Antonio from Utah, 1400 miles away, I arrived around noon, I walked to the front desk and asked the lady who was there, can I take a look at the room to make sure it's clean as we had an unpleasant experience earlier and I have my mother with me who is sick, therefore I would like to see the room first, and since I only reserved without paying up front, I wanted to check the room first. The lady at the front desk said that if I check the room then it's mine, she also said that I can't check the room and leave, and If I do cancel, she will still charge me the first night. I said is that on the hotel policy that if I check the room then I have to take it? She said, it's her policy. Then I said that I am a customer and that I feel that she is making an issue for no reason. So I said then I would like to cancel, she said she will still charge me. So I said I shouldn't be charged for something I didn't receive. The whole situation seemed to be that the front desk lady just didn't like me, maybe my skin color I don't know. But I told her that I will get the refund a different way since I didn't stay and it's not fair. The lady was having a very unpleasant attitude, someone who is at a hotel from desk who doesn't have the understanding of how to handle a customer, she was rude, unfortunately, and it's very sad. Business matters should not be influenced by race, look or anything personal. I am very unhappy with this experience and wanted to share that so other customers like I have an expectation when they plan their stay. Another reason is, hoping that someone responsible at that hotel can investigate this and maybe offer additional training to that person or find another option. She said she is the manager, and if this is the case, then there is something seriously wrong. I hope that my opinion can be heard and proactive measures of improvement can take place.
We really enjoyed our stay. The customer service Latoya provided was stellar and you can tell she loves what she does. The rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was pretty yummy but could have been better with a happy attendant.
The check in he no smile, the person who smile was the one who come and clean the bathub and make no more hair. Very cheerful and this is why we will recommending to go to this hotel it is clean and comfortable and she make you feel home.
We really enjoyed our stay here it was like a home away from home. Clean and spacious and the breakfast is superb. We can't wait to plan another weekend getaway and book here at this hotel. The manager is professional and really cares about this hotel. That made us feel at home.
The big gentleman at the front desk was the rudest unprofessional person I've met to date. He was trashy and flat out mean and even called me a faggot. I couldn't even talk to a manager he told me he was out sick. And there was no one else I could talk to. He didn't care about his job nor how he talks to people. So if your part of the LGBTQ community stay far away because you will be belittled and treated inappropriately.
The guy that is working the second shift only because he is taking a shift for someone should not return. His attitude is bad for no reason and can make things get worse. Check in was so monotone he does not need to be working in hospitality. His attitude takes from the cleanliness and the comfort of the hotel. Check out was a bit better as I dealt with one of the sweetest desk clerk. She was smiling and appeared to me loved her job versus this other cat. The smile still couldnt save them from this review, my experience with him has been burned in my head and I will seek elsewhere when I comt to San Antonio every week.
Ended the stay with police arriving to property. Kind of unsettling for a female traveler. The breakfast experience was horrible. It was placed out on the buffet with absolutely no care in the world. Try getting you some employees that actually care. No muffins, no sweet breads of any sort other than a waffle. No jelly or cream cheese. This breakfast needs an entire overhaul. This was only the highlight of the property this morning. When I checked in the afternoon girl was so welcoming, upbeat, and engaging. The next day the desk was not so welcoming could not even utter a good morning. Upon returning not even a hello. Could not even conclude who were actual employees here at this hotel, staff were walking around in street clothes. The property needs some TLC, whoever the manager is it really shows she does not care. By far one of the worse Best Westerns ever encountered.
Terrible stay. Checked in which took over an hour because there was only one staff member...got to my room to find stained bedsheets, was told there were no other rooms available and that my options were to go to the front desk (because they could not leave the front desk or someone would steal something because they were the only staff member on the clock that evening) get new sheets myself, and than change the soiled bedsheets myself. I was with my very young daughter and was there for medical reasons as I have lupus and had to come into town to see my specialists. With an autoimmune disorder, I cannot sleep in a bed that is soiled with God knows what bacteria and the entire room was filthy, outdated, and in need of repairs. Being told by the Best Western staff member that they were the only ones working and that they could not leave the front desk or someone would steal/rob them was very unsettling and made me feel very unsafe. After all of this was said and done and I spoke to both the Best Western staff and hotels.com I was told that if I returned the key to the front desk, I would not be charged for the stay (BECAUSE I NEVER STAYED THERE), and yet, was charged for 2 nights a few days later. I also than had to arrange for another stay at another hotel when it was close to midnight already and had to pay more because it was so late already. EXTREMEMLY DISSAPPOINTING, BEWARE, DO NOT STAY HERE.
We come we check in experience was perfect the girl at the desk was awesom! Come in with our kids stopped to get ice, yes it was an ice chest we were filling up, some lady just walks up rudely scolding us about the ice and the ice chest. First off introduce yourself who are you? There was a way to do this, and it was so unprofessional. Well the ice machine on other floor if it was working. This place is a dump and it resembles the lady who scolded me in front of my wife and children. Then she goes back into her room, I seriously wanted to check out. The room was clean, which was a surprise after dealing with her
We stayed for a night to go visit six flags. Room was what we expected. Clean, modern, easy to check-in & out. Parking close to entrance. Everything worked as expected. Beds were comfortable. We liked that they had hot coffee and water (for our soups) available all day.
Compared to other Best Westerns close to UTSA they start breakfast at 6:30AM. Serving earlier than 7:00AM helped us get on time to the UTSA Transplant Hospital for early morning appointments. Staff was friendly and let us checkin a little which was nice.
I stayed here for two nights. It was a very clean, comfortable and convenient stay. They serve a warm breakfast buffet, which is more than adequate. You could find a fancier, more expensive brand to stay in. It wouldn't necessarily be better than this hotel which is also in a great location.
Worst experience ever, starting from the so called manager Grace. Very disrespectful lady, I'm sure if she'd walk in to a dirty room she'd want a refund and another place to stay. Unfortunately unbelievable.
We stay at BW's often but will not return to this one. The bathroom was filthy, electrical problems were obvious and worrisome, duct taped baseboard falling off the wall, empty water bottle in fitness
My brother did the reservation for my parents (75 years old), the room was already paid and the person in the front desk (“Star”) didn't gave us the room because my brother wasn't with us. Unfortunately, even though we have the same family name and even though I paid with my credit card she refused to gave us the room.
Overall, the service was good, breakfast and amenities were great. We always have a pleasant stay at Best Western especially with their exercise room. I could go on and on however it would be useless to brag about all the good reasons to stay at Best Western, I'll just state that it certainly is our number 1 hotel to stay during not only our business trips but also during our vacations. We normally travel about 5 to 6 weeks during the year. It is certainly a pleasure to travel now that covid-19 is down.
Disappointing one-night stay at this mid-sized hotel in NW San Antonio. We changed out of our first room because the bed linen was dirty. It had obviously not been changed: it was crumpled in several areas and had hair in three places (see photo) ... The ice machine on the second floor was broken, hallways were dirty, the bathroom sink was partially clogged, bathroom toilet tissue was one-ply...minor things that showed overall neglect. Only one of the three front desk clerks was sympathetic to our concerns. We would not recommend this Best Western to anyone and certainly will not return. I find it hard to believe they have an 8.4 rating as published.
First room they gave us hadn't been cleaned. My daughters room Ahmad mold in the tub and broken light switch and towel bar. Grandkids coughed the whole time they were in their room but were fine outside.
It took 4 reports to get the room cleaned and serviced. Each report was blamed on another. They even had roaches! The bathroom was not clean at all. Thank goodness I travel with Clorox cleanup. Tub is cleaner/whiter now than probably in years.
The location of the hotel is close to Six Flags Fiesta just about 7 minutes. The exits are terrible. There is not enough space time to get from the exit to the line that directs you to the hotel. It's dangerous.
very nice hotel clean rooms with adequate space 100 dollars extra for deposit... this is a con takes 3 to 5 days for your deposited money to go back to your bank account At least they have available breakfast for all guests
Nice central location and easy to find. Staff was nice and helpful. Check in was a breeze. Breakfast was a plus. The staff made sure it was stocked with items and clean. The suite rooms were a nice size and comfortable.
Staff was great, breakfast was alright, internet sucked. But upon arrival my room was not clean. Had food underneath the chair, burned up Pokémon card on top of my fridge, drink of some sort on the wall and hair on my bed which tells me they didn't change my sheets.
The room was really nice (clean comforter and sheets) and lots of space for all who stay. The rooms seem to have been recently redecorated which was nice. The breakfast was OK, nothing special but enough choices to fill up on something. The location is great, outside of the downtown area so there's no loud cars passing by, but less than 20 minutes away from all the main attractions. Would stay again happily.
I was just staying there for a place to sleep, I was at work the majority of the day. But it was a good hotel, nice bed and good water pressure from the shower head. I used the desk a lot, and the chair was comfortable too.
Rooms were clean and the front desk staff was great. Same menu for breakfast each day. Ice machine on second floor was not working. I wish they sold popcorn in the commissary for an evening snack. Handicap room had rollin shower and bench
The front desk attendant when we arrived Friday 7/15 @8:30 p.m. was working by herself. There were at least 5 guests arriving simultaneously. She was able to check everyone in quickly and was courteous and helpful at all times. Everything we asked she was knowledgeable and handled quickly. We will definitely return on our next stay in San Antonio for that alone. The hotel is clean, roomy and the breakfast was good! Waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, coffee juice and milk. Hotel is 7 minutes from six flags right off the highway. Everything is as pictured and hotel is reasonably priced. We had a 2 bedroom suite. Comfortable beds. Microwave fridge and coffee iin room.
We enjoyed our trip and staying at this hotel. We had no complaints. The pool was clean. The breakfast was good and plenty of options. We always got clean towels when we asked for them. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and not hard like many other hotels. We would stay here again.
So as the title states everything was great until I encountered the rudest front desk personnel in San Antonio. She was snide, rude and condescending. I saw her behave professionally with the woman in front of me. She was even kind and polite, But when she encountered me, a large black woman her entire attitude changed. I sent my daughter to ask for sheets and towels. She returned stating that the lady at the front desk (Starr) aske dhow long she would be staying and that I needed to pick up the items. So I went down stairs in order to get the sheets and towels. the woman ahead of me was a petit, white woman and Starr was perfectly nice and professional with her. Then I told Starr that I sent my daughter down here for sheets and towels but I was wondering if it was possible to have the room cleaned. She said, "As you know you have to request housekeeping by 1pm its on the paper you signed." I informed her that I didn't know that was the policy. And she goes well you signed the paper. You should know.' then she asked for the room and other information. I left and went back to my room to straighten up and finish readying my kids for the day. My husband noticed that I was visibly upset and asked what happened. I explained to him the situation and decided that i was going to report her behavior to the management team. I asked Starr for a manager and she told me that it was the managers day off. So I asked to speak to someone else and Starr told me that there was no one else to speak with. So I told her that she was rude, snide and condescending. And instead of apologizing or explaining her intent she doubled down. she gaslit me by saying that's not what she did. I explained that I her behavior was unacceptable in my perception. That is was highly offensive. She stated the policy over and over and that i had to request the cleaning before 1pm and it was only 11:30am! I asked why did she feel the need to tell me if the time limit wasn't anytime close. Then she made the comment of why would you sign something without reading it. One of the other front desk people summarized the content without mentioning the housekeeping policies. How was that my fault? I will never stay at another best western. There is a plethora of hotels that would behave more appropriately and professionally and I'd rather do business with them.
2 bedroom ste was roomy enough for 5 but 1 tv did not work. The extra bedroom was nice but had no ventilation so it was very warm. The fridge was not on upon arrival but cooled quickly overnight. The pool was awesome once we asked them to unlock the gate. We were disappointed that the front desk did not offer change/quarters to use the washer and dryer on the property. Front desk guy was friendly and patient but could have used some help. The line was long to check in and he was the only one there.
We spent the day moving our daughter to S.A. and needed a place nearby to rest. The staff were friendly and gave us an unexpected upgraded. The location was perfect! If you need a comfortable place to sleep and shower, this is it. Also, we didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and inviting as well.
We were visiting University Hospital having multiple tests done for my wife. We booked the hotel through Hotel.com, received a good rate. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were booked on the second floor, and I asked the young man at the desk, Tuli, if we could get a room on the first floor. We were traveling with oxygen tanks, an oxygen concentrator and of course, luggage. He was very gracious and kind, switches the room without one bit of hesitation. That is customer service. Thanks, Tuli, you made a great impression. We'll be back.
Hospital had to cancel procedure due to anesthesiologist not available due to covid we're willing to fax in letter to show proof and hotel would not allow change in date of stay. I tried to speak to manager and I was told nothing can be done. I never checked in or arrived
My wife stayed there because she had school events. We are very satisfied with our stay. The room was very clean. The staff was very helpful. Location was perfect for what we were looking for. We will definitely be staying at a Best Western again.
Bath tub was not clean used soap bar a hair band left behind, hair on clean towel. Could not get warm water to take a bath. Did report to front desk, paid good money for a good hotel and got the oposite. Will never go back
the room was dirty since I checked in and the a/c didn't work at all, they had to lend me a fan from downstairs to keep my room cool because personnel didn't know how to fix it. I requested room service since I stayed for 2 nights and no one came. Hotel refused to accommodate for the horrible stay. Worst experience ever! Save yourself the hassle go somewhere else! Never coming back here again! DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE TO COME HERE! They'll just take your money won't bother helping you or accommodate you for the horrible stay!
The front desk staff were friendly and attentive during our stay. We needed a crib for our five month baby and the clerk spent thirty minutes ensuring their crib was available and prepared properly. Our budget was tight for this trip, so we were grateful that the hotel was affordable. That being said, I do not feel that we sacrificed safety or comfort in the name of saving money.
Stayed here for 3 nights for a staycation. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was a great stay. Loved the spacious King Suite. Roomy! Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Coffee was always hot, even during the day in the lobby.
This hotel was so great and had a great location that was near a lot of the places we wanted to visit. The front desk was so nice and got us checked in and out super fast. The rooms were great and had complimentary breakfast.
The staff were amazing and very hospitable. I feel like they could be family. Their breakfast was amazing until the point where the last day I was there I had spoiled milk. The man was able to change it out but that was the first thing I drink so it ruined my appetite. I put the sign outside my door for them to make my room when I was gone and it wasn't done. I also requested it at the front desk for it to be done and it still was not done. So I asked the front desk for towels and some items for the shower. The Internet needs higher security as my bank card was trying to be hacked. The only place that I use the service where I started doing that interruption was at Best Western.
Elevator did go out, the issue was the staff didn't handle the situation well and didn't even bother to check what the problem was or offer any other solution the look and location was great. Looked nice inside
Audrey and the staff @ best western medical center north six flags are polite & super friendly very accommodating. Highly recommend . Audrey went Above & beyond to make my family's stay easy going !!!
My family of five stayed here for one night after visiting SeaWorld. The room had a king bed and sofa bed along with a side room that had a queen bed. It was me, my husband, an infant, 6-year-old and teenager so the room worked perfectly for us. My teenager slept in the side room and my 6-year-old slept on the sofa bed. The only complaint I have is that when we pulled the sofa bed out the mattress covering was dirty so I didn't feel comfortable with my son sleeping on it even with the sheets so I just rolled it back up and laid the sheets out on the couch and let my son sleep on it like that, he does this at home on the weekends so it wasn't a problem for us. The room also had three TVs one in front of sofa bed, one in front of the king bed and one in the side room with the queen bed. There was a refrigerator, sink with faucet, coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom was private and located by the entry door.
Upon arrival our toilet was not working would not flush and was over flowing, notified front desk and was told that Saturday it would be fixed. We left Saturday morning to Sea World, after arriving back to the room late, toilet was still not fixed. and was running over onto carpet, I spoke with the front desk and was told that all maintance people go home at 5 and are not allowed to return to fix, manager was contacted and he said that he would discount the room. Upon returning home, we are surprised with our bank statement showing that we are being charged 370.00 for water damages to the hotel room. Ive tried multiple times to contact manager and he does not return my phone calls. WARNING stay away from these hotel, find another place to stay. One more thing, the rooms had a horrible smell that would not go away.
The cleanliness of this location is subpar. We had a towel in our room with pubic hair in it from a previous customer. We constantly had to ask for more towels in our room when we were oh given 3 for a 2 bedroom suite. The manager was not willing to speak with us upon checkout.
This hotel has everything you will need, great pool, gym, breakfast included with room rate, the best it 5 minutes away walking to a huge mall, restaurants even a huge movie theater. The staff is super, meet the GM great guy, a must to stay, im planning my next vacations and I will definitely stay with them.
I enjoyed my stay at this location. Great experience and nice and quiet. Customer service representative was very helpful. Thank you for everything and will be staying again in the future. I like all!
BAD don't stay there. I have been a best western member for over 20 years. So I know how other best western are , and this one was the worst .So if you are going on vacation with your family stay away from this hotel. My wife asked me if we could go to another hotel we did look for another hotel but they were full.
My trip didn't start off to well had to change hotels. When I contact Best Western they were so nice and helpful. I was so happy and relieved that they were able to accommodate what I needed for my trip. The staff was so nice. The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Fortunately I was able to enjoy the pool the temperature was perfect for myself who has nerve issues and can't handle cold water to well. On my next trip I plan on returning.
Same as others reviewers, this hotel has charged double in 2 different cards, the one on file and a different one use to buy a chip... in total the made us 3 different extra charges that we are bow disputing. In addition, if you little kids, the will charge extra for the little ones. BE CAREFUL. On top of that the room had an odd smell, the floor was uneven, the beds had hair and the blankets were really dirty, and the bathroom walls were with mold. Avoid staying in this hotel and pay little extra to stay in a real hotel.
I have a mixed review about this hotel, because in spite of many positive things we experienced during our stay, our visit was marred by just a few, but very critical negative issues. Upon arrival we were greeted by a young new employee who was always very courteous, upbeat and friendly. However, some of the other people working throughout the hotel were not at all courteous or even marginally friendly. The hotel seems to be operated and owned by Hindu people with very negative and even aggressive attitudes. I will explain why I say this. The older lady who serviced the front desk almost 24 hours a day during our stay was helpful, professional, courteous and nice, but it seemed that she almost forcefully tried to be those things, like it wasn't her nature or her pleasantry did not come naturally or honestly. In spite of this, we had absolutely no issue with her. However, there were also two Hindu males who were both absolutely disconcerting to even look at. They never greeted us or even directed a smile in our direction. Instead they mad dogged us from the moment we arrived to the the moment we left. These two men literally looked at us with such aggressive intensity, it was as if they wanted to hurt us. I understand that this does often happen in Hawaii or other places and this is why I never vacation in Hawaii. I honestly had never experienced this at any other hotel, or during any visit to any place that wasn't a war zone. I also say this because I have visited war zones where anti American sentiments were often displayed with very evil and hateful looks just like the ones we seemed to get from these two gentlemen. I have quite a few Hindu and Arab friends, and discourteous behavior, aggressive staring and stoic demeanors are not really part of the culture as far as I had experienced thus far, so I really do not know what the issue was and I really don't care, but it does look badly upon the hotel. I reserved a deluxe suite at the hotel, but there was really nothing deluxe about it. In fact, I have stayed at less expensive hotels in San Antonio where I got that same room setup for less, but this is relatively trivial. The pool was small, one of the life savers was rotted, there was a boarded up broken window on the first floor and a curtain-less room on the second floor that was apparently used as a junk or trash room and you could see the piles of stacked disarray through the window, which was not appealing. One of the most aggravating issues we had during our entire stay was our hotel room door. It would literally not close, at least not without a time consuming and stressful struggle. I'm quite sure the hotel staff is aware of this but lets the guests deal with it themselves. Another issue was that the hotel seems to have only one lady, who by the the way was incredibly nice, doing all the room cleaning for the entire hotel with more than 300 rooms!!! This is another first time experience for me! I had never been to a hotel, even half the size of this one, that had only one person doing all the room cleaning by themselves. I could probably attribute the lack of cleaning staff to the Hindu staff's bizzarre and aggressive behavior. This of course, led to struggles with getting our room cleaned and toiletries resupplied in a timely or convenient fashion, but understandably so for the one lady who was doing all the cleaning. Oddly enough, we also experienced unusual aggressive behavior displayed towards the new front desk employee by one of the Hindu staff... I also had never seen this before at any other hotel. Lastly, I'm not sure if we got our $75.00 dollar deposit back. We can say for sure we saw a lot of negative firsts at this hotel. Now, the positive things about this hotel were that some of the staff was excellent even though some were not, the location was decent, the cost was decent, parking was free and ample, free internet was available, free breakfast was served (although we did not partake), and the rooms and common areas were decently upkept and clean. But ultimately, the extent of our negative experiences did make the cost of our stay a bad deal and did make our positive experiences moreless null and void. Given this, I can barely give this hotel 2 stars, I'm not sure if that second star is well deserved, but I suppose our positive points were just barely enough for it.
The hotel itself is fine. I was pleased with the rate and accommodations UNTIL I got home and discovered they had overcharged by bank card by $50. When I phoned a very abrupt lady told me that it was standard policy for them to charge the additional amount in case of 'incidentals' but it would be credited within a few days. It was not. When I phoned back she said they could not refund the $50 because of 'room damages'. It turns out that because we used a (worn) hotel bath towel to mop up when their little coffee maker malfunctioned and coffee was running everywhere, that they were keeping the $50. The woman was very rehearsed and had photos of the towel. Obviously a routine practice.
I stayed here and when i checked in they required a 100 cash deposit in addition to my credit card, I should have walked away then but i was tired and just wanted to get a nap. I do smoke and I do know how serious hotels are about their non smoking rooms. I NEVER smoked in this hotel, I went outside. They saw me go outside every time as I walked past the front desk. On the second day I had planned to recheck my room and stay again. The lady at the desk, Ruby was acting strangely and i realized i had left something in my room. I ran back to get it to find a man in my room, just as i had noticed the same man seeming to come out of my room the night before when i had come back in after i had gone outside to smoke. I couldn't be certain that he did indeed come out of my room the night before but I was almost certain. When I got back downstairs Ruby was again ignoring me and started to speak with a man who walked up while i was there. He was a salesman pitching his product. Finally he gave up and left, At last my turn. Ruby said that she was going to run my credit card for another deposit, I said no she already had one. she said if i wanted to stay again that i must. I decided just forget it, the man in my room, her lousy people skills and now these billing rules that were sketchy Ill just get my stuff and go. I went and got all of my stuff and came back downstairs to check out. Only to be advised by Ruby that she had evidence of me smoking in my room, she showed a pic of a sink with something in it that she said was ashes. I know that wasnt my sink because the last thing i did was dry the sink, force of habit. When I said this she stepped back, odd at first then i noticed into the camera view. She then started yelling for me to to yell at her??? I wasnt yelling but i aplogized to her anyway and decided i should leave as she is saying now that i cant leave because she is callling the police, im thinking im going straight to the police anyway . The only thing im going to report about going to the police is that Ruby has made that call several times lately.. Good luck i thin its a scam
I have stayed at this hotel over 10 times in the last few years. It's always clean and the staff friendly. I was SHOCKED at the price this time. They were fully booked and my 2-night stay with taxes was $372.00. Normally it is $70 per night for (1) person or $115 for (2). I guess they were charging market prices, but still I felt a little bit gouged. Next time I'll ASK how much before I pay.
