"Definitely be returning"
Annie B, 09 Mars 2024

Lovely clean hotel. Well equipped rooms. Reception staff both day and night very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble from booking taxis, restaurants, information and recommendations. Breakfast room very spacious. Lovely selection and beautiful coffee. Hotel is ideally situated in a great location with trolley buses right outside That said unless you have the windows open you do not hear the traffic

"Pleasant stay"
hawkins186361, 24 Janvier 2024

Very impressed, clean, tidy, quiet and staff very helpful. Bus stops right outside so easy to get into main area and easy to find when we first arrived. Takes about 10/15 mins on bus into city. Did not eat there so cannot comment, but everything else very good.

"All staff super friendly! Great hotel."
Diana C, 20 Janvier 2024

Great hotel, had a great stay! The lady with blond hair who checked us in Wednesday 17th January, made us feel so welcome nothing was too much trouble for her. Rooms very clean and beds very comfy, was nice having little fridge to use. Wellness spa added bonus although we were unlucky steam bath waiting to be repaired which was not there fault. Breakfast was excellent, good choice, the waitress very friendly and efficient. Bus stop outside hotel was handy especially as bus 10 takes you straight to airport. Overall could not fault anything, amazed at the negative reviews! Would certainly recommend.

"You know what to expect and thats what you get"
TSD16, 18 Janvier 2024

Nice hotel just on the edge of the main city centre with plenty of buses and trolleybuses right outside and the station (1 stop away from Salzburg HBF) a 5 minute walk away. room was good although for some reason the windows are very high, nice and clean and all the usual amenities plus they have a decent buffet breakfast.

"A great stay!"
Sarah A, 10 Janvier 2024

We have had the best time in Salzburg! The hotel was great. The staff have been so helpful and friendly. We are a family of five so we booked two rooms. Both were clean and very modern. We will definitely revisit. Thank you all for your hospitality.

"Enjoy the free coffee while it lasts"
RegHols2k, 05 Janvier 2024

So this should easily be a 3 (or maybe even a 4) star review - it's a nice enough hotel. Breakfast was good, staff were (mostly!) nice, room was fine etc. It's a bit far out but we knew that when we booked it so it was fine. My main issue is that we paid for a ‘comfort' room and the amenities for this listed on their website include things like a coffee machine, robe&slippers, iron etc, none of which were actually in the room. And, for the three of us, we were given ONE sachet of coffee. I'm not sure if we've meant to share this or just draw lots? We were staying 5 nights and we noticed pretty quickly that our one sachet wasn't being replaced. So we stopped at reception one night on our way back and asked for more. To our surprise, we were told that the first sachet (and this is just a rubbishy instant coffee blend, nothing fancy) was a “gift” and we'd need to pay if we wanted more!! It doesn't seem to matter how long you are staying or how many of you there are, ONE sachet is all you get! After explaining that there were three of us he reluctantly went to get more and came back with another ONE sachet!!! Wow, all our Christmases had come at once. As it was at night, I put this down to the night porter / receptionist just maybe not realising the process. So I asked another receptionist (and then manager) after our third night if we were actually in the right room given that we were missing many of the amenities listed on their website. First of all I was told the coffee machine was the kettle. Then I said a kettle was listed too and they said the coffee machine was the one at breakfast, even though it was clearly listed in amongst the room facilities. Is the iron also available at breakfast? After much back and forth, including being told again that the first sachet was their “gift” and all others were chargeable, I was given three more coffee sachets as their final offer. Absolutely bizarre. I have never stayed at a hotel where the coffee facilities aren't topped up automatically or at least on request. Going by their website, they seem to be big on conferencing; are business customers visiting for a couple of nights for a conference having to buy coffee sachets for their room?! As seems to be mostly standard for triple rooms, we also had only two mugs, two towels etc. but this appears to be industry standard in most places we stay. Maybe these are just “gifts” and we need to pay if we want more. Minor point but our dirty mugs were only washed once although our room was made up most days. And, as per previous reviews, the air conditioning has obviously been an issue for a long while. Despite it being the middle of winter, the temperature in our room (and the hotel in general) was at times unbearable. Overall this hotel was fine but they need to understand that these details matter and they are just setting themselves up to disappoint customers. One final point, whilst it's good to see the hotel responding to reviews, it feels like these are quite generic responses with no evidence of it resulting in improvements.

"Disappointing"
sallyanddavid2013, 08 Septembre 2023

My husband, myself, and our daughter have just arrived for a 4 night stay... we fully expected to have a stretcher bed for our daughter, and that's okay... but what is NOT okay is the fact that the bathroom does not have a door and is fully open to all in the room...It has a glass sliding door only for the shower... this is totally unacceptable as there is not one ounce of privacy...I questioned this at reception and asked for a screen or something temporary to be put up but was just told that that is how all the rooms are and there is nothing she can do. Not a good start to our stay here.... Not happy

"Nice but with a strange bathroom"
Hedo-goer, 06 Septembre 2023

We stayed 3 nights at the Best Western Plus Salzburg. We were in room 309. The room had a queen bed and a single bed for the 3 of us. There was a TV, A/C, safe (with a 6 digit combination), small fridge, table and chair, 1 comfy chair, coffee maker, stool, (and futon). The curtains have music on them. There were fluffy blankets (comforters) on the beds, which I don't like. The biggest problem is the bathroom. It is not a separate room, and is divided up into a toilet (with frosted glass for a wall and door), a sink, and a shower stall with clear glass on the sink side, and frosted glass on the bedroom side. With the lights on, the shower is not private, and anyone wanting to use the sink or toilet has to politely wait until the person taking the shower is done. Another minor problem was the distance of the hotel from the center of the old city. Since 2 of us were not good at walking or taking buses, this was a drawback (and a 15 euro taxi fare). The front desk staff are very friendly and speak languages fluently. There was a free drink for us at the start of our visit. It was made by the person at the front desk, as the bar is right around the corner. That is also where you had to go to get ice for the room. Breakfast for 17 euros was very good. The coffee machine offered lots of choices, but some made only half a cup.

"Old, needs renovation, bathrooms need to be cleaned"
Quest00525172100, 04 Juillet 2023

Room is big, but everything seems old and dirty. If you value decent living conditions, wouldn't recommend this hotel. Toilet and bathroom weren't clean. No conditioner in the bathroom, not sure if the AC was working. Room was double occupancy, but only one cover, second bed didn't have a cover. Breakfast was ok, hotel is at least 20 min walk from Old town, but the bass stop is right next to the hotel. Reception was ok too

"quiet and spacious rooms "
Elin J, 06 Juin 2023

Had such a fantastic stay here! We were very happy with the size of the room, it was very spacious. The staff were very kind to us during our five night stay, when we arrived they were very helpful helping us understand transport routes and bus times ( the hotel is situated across the street from the bus station that takes you into central Salzburg in only a few minutes) The breakfast is very good with many options of hot and cold food as well as cakes. The highlight has to be how QUIET it is! It was so quiet and peaceful in our room and this means a lot to me because I am sound sensitive. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay here.

"Terrible experience to stay at Hotel Best Western Salzburg"
Passport64881710532, 01 Juin 2023

We planned our holidays in Salzburg with family and friends and stayed in Best Western Hotel for three nights starting from 31st May. We booked total six rooms through travel agent. Our experience is terrible for the following reasons: 1. Air-conditions in none of the room was working. We complained to the receptionist about it. They did not give answer to it. Their behaviours are rude and irresponsible. 2. It is difficult to keep room windows open since the hotel is located on road side and it is heavy noice of vehicles. It is difficult to get sound sleep. 3. When we checked into room, there was no tea kettle. When we requested to provide it, they did not respond it positively. We had no option, but to get it personally at reception. 4. There was no liquid soap or shampoo in shower room and wash-basin area. We had to make repeated request to refill it. 5. I would not recommend at all to stay in this hotel based on my experience.

"Worst experience at bestwestern plus Amedia art salzburg"
shalin s, 01 Juin 2023

30th may afternoon When we complained the staff that air conditioner was not working they said they will get it fixed by evening. In evening they said nothing can be done now but tomorrow morning technician will come and fix. 1st June After breakfast again we reminded about air conditioner they said it will be done today but when we checked at night again a.c. was not working in all our 6 rooms and again the staff at reception said it will be fixed tomorrow. If was a pathetic service along with rude behavior of staff at the hotel.

"Pathetic customer service"
apurvaghiya, 01 Juin 2023

We had a terrible stay at hotel and no air conditioner is working and they took 24 hrs to keep shower gel in the room. The reception staff is also not supportive. We are still staying there and had already paid for three nights. And asking for the refund.

"Average "
SueEssex_England, 24 Janvier 2023

The location of this hotel worked well for us as it was by a bus stop and the walk into the City was not too long and enjoyable as you got nearer the old town. The room was not ready when we arrived but that was ok, however we were not told at check in that it would only be cleaned on the following day and that if we wanted it done on the Sunday we needed to request it........ Additionally we were not told that we would only get tea and coffee on day one and it would not be replenished! The room was spacious - the shower arrangement was ok for us as a married couple but I would have found it awkward had I gone away with a friend as there is NO privacy. We did not have any food in the hotel so can not comment on that however we did request a coffee from the bar around 11.30pm only to be told it was not possible as the coffee machine was locked up. The ladies on reception were all very polite and helpful However they were let down by the contractors whose role it was to strip bedrooms etc as on Sunday there were piles of sheets and towels that had been taken from the rooms all left in heaps along the landing in addition to bags of rubbish and dirty cups by the lift which was not acceptable but in fairness the receptionist dealt with it and called back the company responsible so they could sort it out. We got a good deal on this hotel so I guess we got what we paid for but it was only average and I would think twice about rebooking it if we come back to Salzburg.

"great people, great location"
stasiaNegZ, 09 Janvier 2023

I loved the frame of this hotel literally 2 steps from nature (there is a little hill in the surrounding), me and my partner enjoyed a lot. is litterally 15 min from city center. Nice room, very very colored and comfy bed and pillows. Decent breackfast, improvable for sure with more veggies, and pastry. Great suggestion from our receptionist Sharon, that told us what to do in town and where to eat, she also helped with the touristic info, we were really pleased about her dedication and simpaty! Thank you!

"Not the place but the people (merit mention for the reception)"
Luca N, 08 Janvier 2023

I have stayed during a BusinessTrip at Amedia Best Western, my company offered this hotel between the option and due to the strategic position I chose it. The room was really average, i didn't have breackfast so I cant say really. The hotel is not quite at the level of a 4* but the plus value is certainly the people that work there. In particular I have to mention the receptionist Sharon that went above at behiond to solve a problem I had and she also proved to give very valuable suggestions over the city and the hotspots to see in my few time. I appreciated her language skills and courtesy, she deserves a pay raise! Keep up the good job!

"Stay at Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg"
tklem2023, 03 Janvier 2023

Overall rating: mediocre. Extra sleeping couch was terrible, metal bars pressed in your back. No helping staff. People smoked on the 2nd floor and the rooms were noisy during the night. Mistakes during check in and check out. Breakfast and internet were okay.

"Horrible customer service, rude manager, if you have a choice - do not stay here!"
Barcelonalover270, 13 Décembre 2022

The stay was awful. If you are on a holiday, do not ruin it by staying there. There is an absolute miscommunication between the staff and the manager. The manager doesn't even treat their customers in a humanely way. She mouths swear words and accuses customers of lying. Despite the fact that people heard what the staff mentioned , essentially there were witnesses that I was right and there was a miscommunication between the staff and her, she refused to listen to anything at all. She didnt even check with the staff before raising her voice, threatening or accusing.

"The room wasn't ready at 5PM. No bathroom door for group rooms?"
jessazeredo, 13 Décembre 2022

We arrived at 5PM, checked-in, and got the keys to our room. The lift hall was SO dark I got to use my cellphone light to look for the button to call it. Then, the room was already OPEN: it wasn't ready to receive guests (it had recently been in use: dirty laundry around the floor and etc). We went back to the reception and had to wait 40min — not sure if the room was well disinfected, though. The bathroom had NO door (we were in 4 in the room, so it was an awkward situation — using towels to try and cover it). A mess.

"Good apart from the cleaning"
Yat C, 05 Décembre 2022

This is a modern hotel with large room, I stayed here for 5 nights, but they only cleaned the room after the first night. I understand they don't need to clean the rooms everyday but I thought they would have cleaned more than once, the bin was full, I left one towel on the floor but as no one visited they didn't change it. There is a mini fridge, safe, there was also a kettle with one sachet of coffee, but this was not replenished, even on the day they did visit to clean the room. The shower has frosted glass facing the bed but transparent glass as you enter the room, you can half solve this issue by fully opening the toilet door but this still leaves a gap. This wasnt an issue for me but it might be for other travellers who wants more privacy. The breakfast was excellent, lot of choices. Bread, meat, pastries, scrambled eggs, frankfurters, bacon, cereal, cakes, whole fruit, cut fruit, yogurt. There is a supermarket in the mall opposite the hotel and a lovely greek restaurant, Mcdonalds and more supermarkets 5 minutes walk. You can walk into town in 20minutes or you can take the bus, unless there is a strike. On one of the days there was a train strike, I thought this only affected trains but there were no buses either so I had to walk. The hotel is on a main road but the noise wasnt an issue, just the occasional car playing music loudly.

"Terrible Hotel - avoid"
232sain, 01 Septembre 2022

I stayed in this hotel on 31st August and Sep 1 2022. The air conditioning does not work. (Room 228). Manager is extremely rude and disrespectful. The receptionist told me that below 15degrees they shut off the AC. Never mind that the room is 35 degrees. He told me open the window. It is right next to a busy road and the vehicle sound is a terrific racket. You cannot sleep in this hotel. This is not a 4 star. More like a 1 star. The shower is transparent no privacy. In response to my complaint the manager offered me free breakfast after the first day. Came back in the evening same situation. This place is pathetic. Avoid at all costs

"Dirty Rude Staff..shouldnt be a BestWestern"
639gerig, 31 Août 2022

Let me preface my by saying I.am a.long time BW.diamond select member who mostly stays.in BW in Europe. I just came.from Vienna BW Celebrity Suite (great). Not this dump..rude..unorganized..dirty rooms...i only booked to get my extra Points or I would have beat feet out of there and got back on train..if you choose this hotel it's probably for price (I didn't) but really it's a step above a flop house...also I didn't.have a car.BUT.i.heard those who did were having problems with parking. Also no real restaurants near (except the Greek one we stumbled on) DONT ask for directions ANYWHERE they WILL tell you wrong directions &.bus...we were used to this but Can be frustrating if you rely on hotel staff for directions...we are frequent Europe travelors.. Hotel is NOT.near anything or main center of town or tourist spots..we walked it..but we know we are going to.walk 7 to 10 miles a day (we are runners..in shape) Pass on this Best Western or be prepared to be frustrated lost tired of walking and hungry....

"Dirty rooms, rude staff"
erana100, 22 Juillet 2022

Terrible hotel, good location. 1. Dirty. Had hair of other gusts on the towel, Yakkk… 2. The shower is made of transparent glass. Zero privacy 3. Front desk person had no patience, was vey aggressive 4. The front desk doesn't answer calls from the room (tried multiple times). I had to go down for my request. And I saw it first hand, the phone rings the the two guys just ignore it. I do not recommend this hotel

"Discrimination.Racism.Worst hotel ever"
pcastaneda13, 27 Juin 2022

Worst hotel ever. Racism.Discrimination -- Confrontational, disrespectful, racist woman manager, she clearly treated the requests and needs of the rest of the guests (all white) very differently from me (the only Latin, Mexican tourist in the hotel). I was not born yesterday. I have been a victim of discrimination. On top of the race issues: --The hotel is old and dated. It must have been a hospital or something else. Worth one star and half the rate, anyway. -- Location is away from downtown in a noisy street (you will be offered ear plugs!) More than once it took ½ an hour to the historic centre courtesy of delays, traffic, distance. -- Untrained, disrespectful, dishonest and completely useless reception staff; -- The daily challenge of getting my room cleaned; -- Superficial housekeeping, absent in common areas; -- Bumpy mattress and pillows; -- Indescribably soiled, unsanitary mattress topper (had to remove it, see photos); -- Draconian rooms, no toiletries.

"Lovely place"
Birillo91, 14 Juin 2022

I've stayed here only two nights with my boyfriend but we loved this hotel. Staff was super nice and has been very helpfull with our requests. The hotel is very good located and only less then 2 km far from the city center: you can walk or take one of the two buses that pass by. We loved the small Spa they have on the 4th floor. We didn't have breakfast there but we used the private garage that was 17€ per night. We will surely come back in the future! :)

"Kindness Staff but Poor hotel"
127saadabdullah, 10 Juin 2022

The hotel has wonderful staff but I think are not enough, the hotel needs more staff to handle the requirements of the guest, You can't consider this hotel as 4 stars , it should be less. I got a room with broken TV “ I reported “ , I stayed 2 nights with no room cleaned!! The most thing shocked me that there is no kettle for coffee or Tea !! You have to buy coffee and tea !!!

"Not suggested for resting"
AttilaP273, 04 Juin 2022

Did not choose this hotel, I was transitioned to here as the chosen hotel was not available what I learned just right before my arrival. For that I am blaming the site where I booked. They should be aware of this already and unable that other hotel. This hotel's location was less that good. - My windows looked to a noisy street with a gas station, there was an open fan next to my window which made the noise even worse. - The walls are thin too. I could here the cleaning staff at the corridor all the time - when I arrived my bed was full with long brown hairs - the corner of the metal frame what differentiates the bedroom from the bath is super dangerous. A wrong step and it can cut your socks, or your leg sole - during the night, the shower started to drop very randomly and noisy for a few times. It was might me who did not close correctly, but its weird that happened only much later after the shower when I was into sleep Definately not suggested for resting. + Receptionists were nice at least.

"Modern hotel with Austrian hospitality"
Marsonia, 29 Mai 2022

Hotel is modern, nice and clean and the room was spacious with all the amenities (including the hot water kettle, tea and coffee) . Bathroom is a bit strange with a stained glass "window" from the shower facing the room and a sink in the room, but it worked just fine for us. As we were upgraded from another hotel and got a bit lost on a way there, they showed us a real hospitality and even greeted us on a front door! At the reception we got all the info we needed (restaurant recommendation) and we were able to park the car right outside the hotel. Hotel is some 20 minutes from old town by foot and that is the main drawback. They recommended us a good restaurant some 10 minutes by foot from the hotel. The hotel is non-smoking, and does not have a dedicated smoking area (would be nice if it had). If we were visiting Salzburg again, we would gladly come back to this hotel.

"Could be better"
isabelmoisao, 15 Mai 2022

The shower in the room had no door and there was a stained glass "window" directly to the room (whoever was in the bed could see the person taking a shower). Also, a random guest came in to our room, despite being locked, at 6am, we assumed they had a card for the room since it wasn't possible to open the door otherwise.

"Bit further out but fantastic!"
Catherine R, 05 Mars 2022

We were put in this hotel after our original closed due to covid. We were initially annoyed as we didn't get any notice and the hotel was a bit further out but we were so pleased with the change in the end. The staff were EXTREMELY helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They even printed a train ticket off for us. Don't be put off that this hotel is a bit further out, the bus links are amazing and go from right outside the hotel every 10/15 minutes. Plus very cheap at €4.50 for a 24 hour ticket. The room was excellent, very spacious and clean. Everything worked out in the end and we were so pleased to stay here.

"Annoying"
pierronzollo, 10 Janvier 2022

The hotel is situated in a food desert, with only McDonalds as a walkable option. It's a twenty minute walk to the heart of Salzburg, with nothing to eat, really, on the way. The rooms are rather cramped and very poorly lit, with dim lighting used to hide the rather dirty interiors. Most annoying of all are the eighties era framed illustrations of stars featured repetitively in all rooms and halls. Parking, under the hotel, is expensive and very tight. On the other hand, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very polite and helpful. For the same price you can stay closer to town.

"Peek a Boo"
heather441, 02 Novembre 2021

This hotel was great, clean, up to date and the front desk was very helpful and kind. The only thing that we thought was strange was the shower, it had a glass side facing the room and was pretty much transparent and we were stay with our teenage son in a triple. We are American so it's probably just a culture thing and not a big deal for most travelers.

"Don't stay here! Horrible experience"
Crystal R, 01 Juillet 2021

DO NOT STAY HERE! Air conditioning does not work and beds are miserably hard. We have a firm mattress at home and these beds were as if we were sleeping on the floor. At midnight we couldn't sleep as it was so hot and asked for fans but were told they couldn't help us and to just open the window. Hotel os next to a very busy street so we wrecked then given access to the noisy street all night. We asked to check out a day early as we were miserable and were told we wouldn't be given a refund. Apparently the only manager they have doesn't have a boss or supervisor so I could elevate the issue. Bathrooms have no privacy as shower wall connecting with room and toilet wall are opaque. Horrible experience in Austria recommend taking your business somewhere else they have Zero customer service. Best Western do better!

"Does not deserve its 4-star rating"
fargone2000, 27 Juin 2021

Positives: Friendly and helpful reception staff. Safe and Fridge in room. Complimentary luggage storage on checkout day Large shopping center directly opposite the hotel, Bauhaus and McDonald's both about 5 minutes walking distance Two bus lines (2, 4) into the city center Bus line 10 to Europark shopping mall Negatives: Hotel is hard to find when you alight from the bus stop. It is situated around a corner of a main road and there are not any signs leading tourists to the front entrance (see photo). Room does not have any tea/coffee making facilities. Instead, one has to ask for hot water at the front desk. Hotel is situated on a side road. One side of the hotel faces the main road, the other faces a shopping center. If you get a room facing the main road, it will be noisy. Unreliable Wi-Fi. It worked on two of my devices but not on a third. Breakfast costs €15. Opt to buy or eat breakfast in the shopping center instead. Unreliable air-conditioning. On our final evening, it did not switch on at all and we had to open the windows instead. Luckily, it was a rainy night and the outside air was very cool. Fridge was not cleaned! Summary: It's sad to say this but the quality of the hotel facilities reminded me of Ibis Budget. We both agreed that the star rating should be a 1 or 2 instead of 4. It seems that the hotel belongs to an Austrian hospitality company called "Amedia Hotels" which has acquired the Best Western franchise label.

"Not worth the price! "
msCloud_ia, 26 Septembre 2020

We passed by Salzburg on our way to Germany. The hotel did not meet our expectations. The rooms are quite old an honestly pretty dirty. The curtains were full of stains, and the carpet quite dusty. Breakfast is not too bad (but again, 15€ per person is a quite high price) The price is absolutely not fair considering the low quality they offer. Would not recommend.

"Don't stay here if you like being treated as a human"
allofeverywhere, 02 Septembre 2020

At first this hotel seemed great. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had great amenities, though not perhaps perfectly clean. location was ok but not great. However my entire experince here was ruined when my room card broke accidentally. The woman at the front desk was absolutely the most rude person I have ever interacted with in my entire life. She treated me as though I had terribly incovenienced her because I asked her to do a very quick and easy task that hotel staff have to do all the time. Don't stay here if you like being treated like a human.

"Just an average stay"
travelingsteph2020, 12 Août 2020

The man who checked us in was very helpful and friendly...he even walked outside with us to show us where we could park our car. The breakfast was okay... I couldn't get the latte macchiato button to work on either machine, which was frustrating. I was told I didn't get breakfast for my reservation (which was wrong because of my loyalty status) but no one was checking for names/room numbers regardless-so anyone could've gotten it for free. We were told that masks were recommended, not required. When we went for breakfast the next morning we were not allowed to enter without our masks. I assumed we didn't need them because we would have them off to eat, but it made sense that we needed them for the buffet... it just would've been nice to know so we didn't have to go back to our room. The thing that made the most impact, though, was the air conditioning. We were given one key, which was needed for the a/c in the room to work. Even with the key plugged in and the a/c on blast, the room was very hot. Thank god we brought our own floor fan! The windows did open fully, which was great! The location also was just okay. The restaurant across the street was great (Akropolis) but it would've been better had we chosen to stay closer to the old town.

"Convenient for Salzburg City"
davlew14, 01 Juillet 2020

As we were driving, we needed a hotel with secure parking, so opted for the BW Amedia. Around 1.2km from the river, the city and old town are easily walkable. Hotel has its own secure underground carpark with reasonable overnight rate. Check in staff were efficient and friendly and the room was large and modern. We preferred to head into town for breakfast, so cannot comment on the hotel bfast. Ideal for families or business trips to Salzburg Highly recommended!

"Terrible gestión"
TheCoolKids1, 16 Mars 2020

Despite being quarantined with symptoms and unable to travel, this company does not return the money or modify reservations. 0 human value, 0 hospitality from managers, I will never step on or recommend this brand again. Human lives are worth nothing to Best Western, everything is money. Terrible, you will lose more in the future for this dantesque image that you are giving, than for what you lose in this crisis.

"Very good hotel"
P_Henrik, 25 Décembre 2019

The price was low, high standard, nice room where light has been in focus. Kind people in reception, that is nicely done with great pop music artists on the wall. Grocery stores near by, and buss stops. Its a little outside old town and City centrum so you have to be able to use your legs. There is also a little mountain next by where you can go for a walk, maybe best during summer or in good weather.

"Great Value"
sara C, 23 Octobre 2019

Was nearly put off this hotel after reading some reviews but was much better than expected. The staff are really friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was also better than expected - practically perfect scrambled eggs!! This is not a 5 star hotel but there is a very nice bar area and a steam/sauna which we didn't use though they provide towels. The rooms were clean, roomy and very comfortable. It is a bit of a walk into town - about 20-25 minutes depending on your pace but you can always get a taxi into the main part of town for about 10 Euros.

"Great!"
pyeromaniac, 11 Octobre 2019

Fantastic stay! Hotel is lovely and rooms are of lovely standard. Regularly maintained Breakfast is nice and varied, good for a long sit down or just a quick visit. Staff are lovely and helpful and links to the centre are easily manageable.

"3 night stay in September 2019"
AtindraB, 03 Octobre 2019

We stayed in this excellent hotel. Stoppage for bus #4 is adjacent to the hotel which is 5 minutes ride to City centre. The rooms are quite big, clean. The breakfast is included which is pretty good. The hospitality of the reception staff is awesome, they are very helpful.

"Not Suited for a North American Tourist"
ERIKAP2301, 02 Octobre 2019

Hotel location is not convienent for tourists to access tourist attractions and hard to find with not the usual amount of BW signage. The layout of the rooms is a bit too modern and does not afford much privacy. No local Austian feel in the hotel.

"Nice hotel sub par location"
iamthebennett, 26 Août 2019

This hotel was clean and spacious. Concierge and reception was wonderful. Very friendly, helpful staff. The location was a bit far from everything. Breakfast was only ok nothing special. Definitely not worth the 30 euros a day.

"Nice Hotel but No AC"
vanessapoo, 17 Août 2019

Check in and check out is very fast, very friendly staff but sometimes they will ignore you if they are on the phone :)) The room is very spacious, The breakfast is Very good But there is no AC in the room.

"Nice Hotel"
regulartraveller2018, 06 Août 2019

Nice hotel within 30 minutes' walk of the old town. Friendly and helpful staff. McDonald's and supermarkets close by which is a bonus. Hotel staff can also book tours if required - tour operator came to pick us up from the hotel which saved us walking back to the old town.

"Convenient comfortable mid range place."
simmotours, 05 Août 2019

Dont let the rather brutal exterior of the Amedia Art put you off. The rooms are quite spacious, comfortable and modern, with good beds and kept well cleaned. The staff were invariably helpful, cheerful and friendly. Whilst not in the historic centre, frequent trolley buses stop close by and take you into the city or to the station in ten minutes or so. The location is quiet. Breakfast is pretty standard for a hotel of this level.

"Salzburg at its Best"
embannert, 29 Juillet 2019

Enjoying a stay in Salzburg at the most convinient, friendly and lovely BW Amedia Salzburg will enhance your trip or your holiday. Breakfast is a healthy mixture of traditional and healthy food with a wide variety of teas.

"I hate the Toilet"
AndyDarwin, 29 Juin 2019

1st. hotel located in front of Bus stop of few Bus. But nothing much around the Hotel. Room are Clean, receptionist are friendly. but... The toilet are using transparent Glass Door. Unless you are a couple, the toilet is not OK.. The construction of the toilet just weird..

"Mostly nice but lacking in certain things"
hildigunnur, 25 Juin 2019

The room was very nice and the staff was friendly but the rooms were not cleaned well and we needed to ask for new towels almost every day which isn't a good thing in a heat wave. One of our fellow travellers wasn't believed when he complained about nail clippings on the floor in the room and accused of lying about it. Which sort of isn't acceptable at all. Breakfast buffet was good and offered the service of boiling eggs to your desire which is really nice.

"Good value although a bit far from the city center."
508perrys, 20 Juin 2019

This BW property is a good value but a little far from the city center. We walked about 20 min to reach the Altstaadt; at least 15 more to the Zentrum. It was very warm during our stay so it was nice to have air conditioning that worked. We could also open the windows to get a breeze in the evening. If you have a rental car the parking is tight but not as bad as some of the places we stayed. We had two rooms, both of which were decent sized. Note that the rooms in Europe are not big like in the US so for a family of four you are going to need two rooms. I thought the cost for the breakfast was a little high so we ate at the shopping mall right across the street. There is also a great restaurant just down the street: some of the best food we had on the whole trip!

"Good stay at premium price"
Richard-Roadman, 04 Juin 2019

Room was big, clean and well furnaced. Beds slept well, and although we had a room on the site off the gasstation we had good nightrest with the window open. Bathroom; yes it isn't a privat section as there is no door ( there is one for the toilet though), but as long as you travel alone or with your (seksual)partner this doesn't have to be an issue. WiFi was good, there was an fridge and some english tv channels, mostly german. Also a teakettle was available. Room was served daily and plenty off public transport oppertunities nearby to get to the citycenter. But my problem with my stay is that I had to pay a premium price. And I'm willing to do so but than I do expect that breakfast is included, the location is more centrally located to citycenter and there will be enough coffee and tea provided inroom, with milk(powder). And not charged €15 extra for breakfast and extra for coffeemilk and have to ask to provide new coffee and tea... And all off this dispite the fact that I'am a BW rewardsmember and booked well in advance. All in all I can say that the “hard product” of this hotel is ok, but that I think I paid to much for the total experience and not received the amenities that justifed the price paid. Funny thing is that after this stay I went to Vienna and paid at a BW half the price for the same duration and breakfast included. So will I stay here again? I don't know; probably only when I get a good rate, otherwise I be happy to consider an alternative.

"Decent stay "
wakeyrooney, 02 Juin 2019

The room was decent size and the bed was massive as was the bath wanted to take it home with me in an excellent location with a supermarkets in close proximity the breakfast was ok could have been more choice rather than the only hot items were scrambled egg burnt bacon and grilled oily sausages staff were brilliant

"Best Western Plus - never, a very big minus"
Alex24091943, 29 Avril 2019

Arrived early and left our luggage and went out to explore. Staff very friendly and helpful. Returned and went up to room to unpack. It was extremely small and cramped for a double. I had a bigger single room at another Best Western last year. Went to make drinks with our kettle to find there was one tea bag, no coffee and no milk. Reception told us coffee wasn't provided, ration was one tea bag per person per day and fresh milk only if you paid for it. Night came, don't have a room at the back overlooking a petrol station. All the local drunks assemble there until 2 or 3 in the morning, all the boy racers spend most of the night revving their engines and making their tyres squeal and once it goes quiet the early morning the local debating society assemble with their stentorious voices. Out of two mornings for cleaning only one happened. When we got back in the evening the beds were unmade, the waste bins still full and the cups dirty. Our ration of one tea bag was not delivered either. The staff were most apologetic but nothing happened. I suspect that they must be given special training in apologising. Other than the above the breakfasts were very good with good ground coffee and an abundance of tea bags.

"The staff makes this hotel wonderful!"
dma1969, 12 Avril 2019

First of all—yes, the glass doors on the shower were a bit awkward when you have a teenaged daughter craving privacy but we worked it out. The first two nights we were in a room that increasingly smelled moldy but when we decided to complain we were immediately moved to a different room without a problem. The breakfast was great! There were so many choices but I really enjoyed the breads and my husband loved the muesli. And our daughter ate a Swiss roll(or 2) every day. The bus stops right in front so it's easy to get around, especially with the Salzburg card, and there are great places to eat nearby. It's also not too far to walk to the downtown area if you are in decent shape. But the best part of this hotel is the staff! Kevin, on days, was so friendly and helpful. The woman with the glasses on evenings called several restaurants for us our first night to find vegetarian food on a busy Friday. The young man on afternoons quickly resolved our problem with the room. We stayed 5 nights and didn't want to leave. If we ever return to Salzburg we will definitely stay here again.

"An absence of bathroom walls!"
eccode, 18 Mars 2019

The receptionists were extremely welcoming and friendly, and the aspect of reception is also welcoming, clean and bright. However, this hotel may be more suited to couples rather than friends sharing a room. The lack of walls for the bathroom make the stay uncomfortable, there is an opaque glass door that can swing across the toilet area and partially across the area where one steps out of the shower, but does not cover it completely. The TV was too large for the area and as we left the sink area we kept bumping into the TV so that it eventually became crooked! A very poor design as there is a proper floor space for the bathroom but they opted out of actually creating a wall for the area. Having stayed in a number of Best Western hotels, this sadly was very disappointing.

"Poor service"
Delta46aj, 16 Mars 2019

We have just spent 4 days and 3 nights at this hotel and our room was not attended to once! The bed was not made the bins were not emptied and the bathroom was not cleaned! The room had a kettle with a small selection of teas & coffee but no milk? My husband asked at reception for some milk and was charged €3 for half a jug which was a joke as we couldn't use the milk after the first day as the tea bags were not replenished? We had to get our own clean towels from the small Spa on our floor and phone down to reception for toilet rolls! Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel! There were 2 large groups of Chinese guests staying overnight on the Friday and Saturday so the housekeeping staff must have prepared their rooms at the cost of the guests booked in for a longer stay! We Complained to the reception staff on two occasions but all they did was apologise and say that they would report it to the Manager who surprisingly wasn't around and who never bothered to follow up with us. Salzburg is a wonderful city with lots of fabulous places to visit so we recommend it wholeheartedly but don't bother with this hotel definitely only a 2 star with a 4 star price tag!

"Comfortable stay"
Bioteacher67, 11 Mars 2019

We stayed here for two nights with a student group. The rooms are attractive and a good size, the bathroom has no door which is hard if the two people in the room are not related, ie are teacher colleagues or a pair of students, as there is no privacy in the shower or a place to dress in private. The beds are comfortable and there is coffee in the rooms. Breakfast is good.

"Great hotel!"
MissChampers, 13 Février 2019

A good but basic and clean hotel, not far from the town, about a 20 minute walk or you can catch the number 4 bus outside the hotel. The breakfast was okay but not brilliant, there was no toaster and the juice was more like orange squash. I would stay here again though if I was in Salzburg.

"Very Good"
rabbit198, 05 Février 2019

We have just spent 3 nights at this conveniently located modern hotel. It is next to the bus stops for the frequent no 4 tram into Salzburg. Our room was nicely appointed and clean, although a little too hot for our liking. The staff were obliging. Just a bit of advice - get down for breakfast before coach parties, otherwise there is not much left after 8am.

"Rooms are not cleaned properly "
RainbowCafeJ, 30 Décembre 2018

Room was a bit small and dark. Housekeeping needs to pay more attention with the cleaning, there are stains on the curtain, rubbish under the chair. Carpets are not cleaned properly. Bathroom was a bit dark as well. There's a kettle in the room but this is the first hotel that I stayed with NO tea bags or coffee in the room. Buffet Breakfast was okay. Staff were very friendly.

"Avoid"
rachellewnz, 28 Décembre 2018

It's 4am in the morning at the hotel...I think that may give an indication that this is not an ideal stay. Firstly we arrived at 2:30pm, half an hour before the allotted check-in time. We had two issues straight away 1. our room wasn't ready We did have the option to leave our bags but for half an hour I didn't think it was worth it. So while my family waited downstairs I went up to the room to check. It was ready. So I went downstairs to get them but was promptly stopped, again being told it wasn't ready. When I said I'd checked and it was I was asked who had advised me. I then explained again that I'd been up and checked myself. The staff member left us to it but clearly hadn't wanted to. I'm guessing it's policy not to allow early check-in...but then it shouldn't be classed as a 4 star hotel. 2. we hadnt booked our 5 year old daughter in I booked using a booking site and as 1 small child when with 2 parents is normally free if using existing beds, we often find that the hotel is not aware even when I always give her details. However, in all instances other hotels have made sure we are accommodated, providing additional towels and pillows. Not here they don't. In fact the double bed here doesn't even stay together so she can sleep in the middle. Instead she fell straight through! And so I've had to share a single bed with her. Goodness knows how couples get on being romantic! Back to teenage single bed days I guess. Now they are not the only issues. The room design is crazy. The bathroom is glass so when anyone gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom the whole room lights up, waking everyone up! The TV has one English news channel and many of the buttons on the remote seem to be disabled so we can't change the English movies to English nor have subtitles nor use another input like a Chromecast. It is just gone 5am, my husband and I have been awake since 3am my daughter is up.

"AVOID! Rude staff and not hygienic at all!! "
Miten P, 16 Décembre 2018

One of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. Staff are initially friendly when you check in but by the time issues arise they are just rude. The main manager (blonde with black glasses) has no customer service skills at all. I was explaining the issues with our room and she was greeting others and talking to her other staff while I was talking which is very disrespectful. Issues were, we arrive at 10am to be told the room is not ready and check in was 3pm which is fine. We left our luggage and went into town. On our return we went into a room that had no body/hair wash and no tea bags that I had to go down to get them! The room itself is very dull and not clean at all. The room was filty with hair and dust everywhere especially the corners (See pics) no effort was done to clean it even though "please clean my room" sign was up everyday and staff was informed. If you want a nice place to stay, DO NOT choose this Best Western Plus! No attempt was made to make us feel like wanted guests. A real disappointment. Use your hard earned money somewhere else. No doubt there will be a reply from the hotel as they give to everyone else as I have seen on other reviews. Doubt they will be there in the next few years if they continue with this attitute and service. A hotel that I would recommend is the IMLAUER Hotel which has a Sky Bar and Restaurant which is brilliant.

"Friendly Hotel"
Robert T, 09 Décembre 2018

No complaints about hotel, staff very pleasant and breakfast more than adequate. Rooms are spacious and clean. From airport a No 10 bus will drop you off right outside hotel. Bus price 2.70 euros, a taxi is 20euros. You can also get a No 2 bus which will drop you off 5 mins away. Bob & Lisa

"Great hotel"
Anwen B, 11 Octobre 2018

We arrived Salzburg on the train. It took us 20 min to walk from train to hotel. We had no problems in finding the hotel. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist. We were early and allowed to leave our bags in the luggage room. It was a 20 min walk from hotel to main attractions. The room and bathroom was very clean. The room had a TV, tea/coffee and hairdryer. Plenty of choice for breakfast. One morning the breakfast room was packed so we sat in the lobby. Receptionist was so helpful and made sure we had everything. Thank you very much to all the staff. Would definitely recommend

"Great hotel!!"
USEuroTraveler1977, 08 Octobre 2018

From the moment we arrived until we left we felt welcomed! The staff is super amazing and friendly. Always a smile to see. The breakfast was good great way to start the day. We were upgraded to a king suite on the top floor and it was great and very unexpected! A great surprise for our weekend getaway. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Great location with public transport right there and short drives to the city center

"A really friendly hotel"
Journey769324, 02 Octobre 2018

The hotel, although nothing to look at from they outside was really lovely and very pleasant to stay in. Rooms were large, modern and clean. The breakfasts were excellent and the choice was amazing. All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. An exceptionally good place to stay. A 20 minute walk from the centre of Salzburg and on a bus route if you need transport to the city or to the airport. Perfect!

"great breakfast and staff on reception amazingly helpful."
CoachhouseGL, 27 Septembre 2018

Pillows poor no pillow protectors, room not cleaned or sorted daily which I didn't like. I run a bandb and we do it daily. Breakfast great choice, staff on reception very helpful and polite, buses to everywhere marvellous, get a Salzburg card. It is a wonderful city.

"Good hotel"
kmr100, 21 Septembre 2018

The hotel was not easy to find. It would be good to have a Best Western sign on the side of the hotel instead of just "hotel" especially for those guests driving in from the north of the city. Staff member was very helpful when we arrived. A nice hotel. Comfortable room and very comfortable bed. There is a charge for parking in the underground garage. Breakfast was ok but not as good as in other Best Western hotels.

"Fine but nothing special"
paortho, 17 Septembre 2018

it is quite a distance outside of town. Walking was an option and they do have public transportation but still takes planning. Staff was nice and it was clean. Breakfast was average. Rooms were clean. Noise despite its location was not an issue.

"Good hotel, great service!"
flowerydave f, 15 Septembre 2018

Ok, so it's a best Western plus..... But I always say that along with first impressions, service counts. Had a very welcoming reception on arrival, the room was very clean and we'll furnished. I'll say the only negative was the wifi was intermittent at best, but the overall feeling out weighed that and any other negatives. The colleagues that I came into contact had a five star attitude. I don't say that lightly. The gentleman on the evening shift when we arrived was exceptionally professional, and gave us the 'welcoming feeling' , and it is that that makes me want to return. I have stayed in so called high end hotels that don't give that. I think the gentleman's name was Michael, and he mentioned that it was his first late shift. The two other colleagues (sorry I didn't get name's) ..a lady taking over Michael with lovely coloured hair and the gentleman in the morning who directed us to breakfast, were also very professional. Again very good experience

"Enjoyed this hotel"
Q6840RTtomc, 12 Septembre 2018

This hotel has a great attentive staff, big clean rooms. They have a steam room and sauna, and offered a free drink at their bar. We travel by train and took a cab from the train station, took only 8 - 10 minutes and the fare was under 10 E. We walked from the hotel to the old town in about 20 minutes. The hotel is clean and attractive. We were very happy at this hotel.

"four stars? maybe too much..."
delgez, 23 Août 2018

Very large and comfortable rooms, bed comfortable too as well as the sleep, there is either a garage and a parking lot, air conditioning, wellness on demand from 5pm on. It is located 20 minutes walking from downtown, alternatively bus stop right in front of the hotel. We stayed 3 nights, staff was very friendly. Some minor downsides - at the reception there was just one single person so it can get busy very easily and you could have a hard time if you need to ask for something, and on the second day we had not the room recovered, when I complained I was told they do service room every two days, - never heard a thing like that before, but promptly the girl checked for the service and managed it. It were not been for those minor nuisances it could deserve a 4 stars. I don't know about breakfast. Anyway I would come back again.

"Best value for money...with great staff"
Minnette S, 07 Août 2018

We stayed in this hotel from 1-6 Aug 2018. One thing we like about the hotel is the spacious bedroom and bathroom - my partner plays bis guitar and I practice choreo during the daytime coming back from our tours. We loved the 25 minute walk to the city which is only 1.2 km away. Or you could take the Line 4 bus from the stop which is right behind the hotel. Fare structure is different in Salzburg. They don't go by distance. You pay 2 euros for 2 hours or 4 euros cor 24 hrs. There is a shopping arcade right in front of the hotel which has both DM amd Merkur for fruits bakeries and groceries as well as Libro where you can buy electronic accessories and parts. For dining, we loved Akropolis Restaurant, a greek resto that serves a variety of greek cuisine. Food are reasonable priced. To top it all the staff led by Kevin and a gorgeous very friendly lady (sorry that i forgot her name) made our stay very pleasurable - just what anybody needs in a place totally strange to him/her. Taxi is cheap. We caught the train from Vienna and from Salzburg hbf to hotel we paid 8 euros. Depends on the traffic as well coz on the way back from the hotel, we paid 10.10 euros. We recommend doing Eagles Nest tour and Halztatt tours , definitely not to miss!

"Very nice place to stay! "
Katie F, 04 Août 2018

The bed was one of the most comfortable we had slept on throughout our trip in Europe. The staff was friendly, the location was great, and the price was right. I would say this was more of a 3 star than a 4 star hotel though. We got a deal on our booking price so we can't complain. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We didn't eat the breakfast at the hotel so we have no opinion on it. Side note: I don't know if all the rooms are the same, but the bathroom was unique. The shower wall and bathroom door were both translucent. Great for a couple like us, awkward if you're with friends or family.

"In decline "
Johan J, 24 Juillet 2018

This hotel is worse than the average hostel. Breadcrumbs on the floor on check-in, AC so weak that we had to leave the window open (towards major intersection). Don't go here if there are other options.

"Mel"
Mel L, 26 Juin 2018

This is one the most friendliest, clean hotel I have stayed in. The two reception staff were so helpful, cheerful and nothing was to much trouble, the are a credit to the hotel. The room was spacious, very clean, large bathroom, firm bed, nice cotton sheets. There was a good choice for breakfast, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, cereal, cheese, cold meats, rolls, bread and cakes. The coffee machines had a very large selection, ample different teas and juices, don't get why people have said the breakfast was not good!!!!!! What else do they want. I can't fault the hotel.

"Comfortable Stay"
Rituscraft, 13 Mai 2018

Very well done room and bathroom. The bed was comfortable.Close to city centre.Located opposite a very good shopping mall.Buffet breakfast was good especially loved the marble cake.Indian restaurant was at a walking distance of 15mins.

"" Special attention to the room type! ""
Ljubica D, 29 Avril 2018

The room 415 is terribly small, suitable only for a single , young person .There are only 30 centimeters between the bed /narrower tha normal double bed/ and the wall on both sides of it. When you get out of the bed, you have to be very careful not to bump into the wall. We asked for a bigger room, suitable for a senior couple, but did not get it although we booked a normal double room some weeks before our arrival through our travel agency. There were no slippers, body lotion, hair conditioner , tea bags. You have to ask for them at the front desk for everything,, even for writing paper and then you are even asked what you need it for. .At the breakfast we had to ask for some fruit. During the time we were eating there were only few apples left, some even spoiled. We stayed for two nights and the bath remained uncleaned the second day, but in general, the hotel is clean and has a very good location, a walking distance from the city center.

"Not recommended"
AlexSantosa, 17 Avril 2018

Best Western intl must take a special attention to this hotel. -No free tea or coffee in room -No tea spoon -Weak wifi signal -Shower room & wc only separated with glass, no privacy - 2nd day the room key doesnt work so we must up & down to reprogram the key - Breakfast is terrible. Starts at 7am not 6am for Asian guests. They made a discrimination in services: Breakfast for asian guests start at 7am, for others can take the breakfast from 6am. Lots of Asian guests include me must wait in front of the restaurant door to wait for 7am. The female reception said that the reason is because the white guests pay more money to the hotel. Come on, she even didnt know my name, how can she made a judgement that I pay cheaper? Ridiculous. This is a very weird hotel regulation that i ever met. - 7.30am some foods are runs out but they were very slow to refill it. - Restaurant staff must learn how to smile to the guests. - 17 April 2019 ag 06-07 am, the female front office at the morning shift laughing at my complaint. Very unpolite, does not have manner. This hotel's staff seems doesnt understand that tourism business is service and hospitality business. When i was in austria, i saw lots of tourists from Asia countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, China. So this hotel should not make any discrimination in services to their Asian guests.

"Very nice room and location"
Norm J, 17 Avril 2018

The room 315 was wonderful. Good size with a balcony to enjoy the view. The hotel is with walking distance of all major attractions in Salzburg. The staff are nice and helpful. If you are driving, there is indoor and outdoor parking. I had 2 GPS with me and neither gave the exact location. That is because the entrance to the hotel is not on the street that is their address. It is on the other side of the block. I did mention this to them at check out.

"A nice place"
Sophie C, 27 Mars 2018

The rooms are nice, very clean, big shower! We had a triple room with a sofa bed, which was ok for a few nights but wasn't the most comfortable! The main beds where very comfortable though! We visited the weekend before Easter and the hotel bar/breakfast was very quiet, but Gwen the receptionist was a credit to the hotel! Very friendly and attentive for our entire stay! The transport is also very good with a bus stop opposite that takes you into central town within 5/10 mins! I would definitely stay here again!

"Affordable and decent"
BobbyMaeRae, 02 Janvier 2018

We stayed over at the hotel from Christmas Eve for a few nights. The reception staff are amazing. We didn't have a place for dinner on Christmas Eve and the lovely man at the desk found a place for us. All other staff were lovely as well. The room itself was OK but I wouldn't recommend sharing with a friend since the toilet doesn't have a proper door on it and the shower had a frosted wall facing into the sleeping area. The beds were decent but being two single beds they kept separating during the night. The house keeping staff did not vacuum once while we were there (we stayed for 3 nights) and the toilets were not cleaned either, which wasn't too nice. Being over the Christmas period I am sure this might be just a decreased staff matter. The hotel is located quite a walking distance from the old town and the city centre but there are two stops near by so I would highly recommend getting daily bus tickets. Overall the hotel was OK for the price point but if they didn't have such great reception staff I probably wouldn't go back again.

"Inside better than facade "
taoist_sg, 28 Décembre 2017

I was very negative upon discovering of the hotel upon arrival by car, hidden behind an ugly grey facade. One will be surprised once inside the hotel, and then inside the room. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful, working with healthy common sense than the cool SOP. On the north junction between town and city, neighboring to sad landscape of petrol station and car dealerships, the location is less favorable, but actually only 15 minutes to the river on foot, in middle of the city. Not a luxury hotel, but a practical one, good value.

"Certainly not recommended."
GeorgeMalamas, 31 Octobre 2017

Rooms very small. At least the one they gave us. From each side of the bed maximum 20cm until the wall. Impossible to climb to the bed without hurting your legs. We stayed 2 days and during our stay no one cleaned the room or changed the towels. The afternoon and evening reception shift, is by a unpolite girl with glasses. She lives in her own ruthmes of life that you have to go along. Only positive point is the very decent breakfast and the relatively convenient location.

When we arrived we was greeted by the most polite and professional reception man Daniel . Every day of our stay Daniel was amazing . He made sure we were happy & enjoying our holiday . We would like to pass our thanks onto Daniel & we will be writing to management to express our gratitude . Xxx

"Noisy Area, Friendly Staff"
Mallorie E, 15 Octobre 2017

Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I loved that there was a parking garage below the building, but the vehicle we drove was too high to fit in it, so parking was a bit tough to find. The area the build is in was very busy and loud. It was right at the intersection of many roads. There is a gas station next door and a couple places to eat within walking distance. The WiFi was ok, but cut out a couple of times. I wish this hotel was in a different location because it's really nice inside and the people were really nice. Also I wasn't expecting the wall of the shower to be partially see-through when wet. 3 of us shared the room so that was very awkward.

If you want to share a room with a friend then only with a very good one. No privacy in the shower and toilet. Glas walls. The glas in to the bedroom and toilet is obscure but still see through. The room is small and has not enough hanging spaces . noisy from the buisy road. Was not very clean. I have never been in a motel room where there is no rail to hang the bad towel.

"Neutral"
Bardakkkione, 03 Septembre 2017

This hotel is clean, the staff is kind, the breakfast is good..nothing more. I found it a bit..cold. Not so close to the city center (about 30 minute by walk), not so easy to find, expensive underground parking. It could be the right mediation between being near the city center and easily reaching the periphery.

"Good hotel. Okay location"
Marchmarv, 21 Août 2017

The hotel is a bit old, but very clean room, but i think the room is a bit dark. Enough space for 2 people with 2 large suitcase. I can open them both and still can move around easily. A bit far from city centre, but very close to Mcd and some supermarkets. Breakfast was ok.

"Good place to stay....minimal issues."
uppalrajesh, 15 Août 2017

Reached the hotel by bus which stops just by the hotel. the hotel is located on a trisection and is very easily reachable by public transport which i used to the maximum. From the exterior it a dull grey building but this hides a nicely done interior. The hotel opens to two roads with a central courtyard (the courtyard rooms have no views). The rest of the rooms open up to a modern city. It is about 3 - 4 km from the tourist areas like the old city and Mirabell square, but the walk is very easy and straight forward. The room has all the basics expected today- wifi, kettle, decent wash rooms- even irons and iron boards. The only issue was with the lighting. I felt the need for a strong light in the room. With increasing numbers of senior citizens on travel this issue will soon have to be addressed by all. Breakfast is usual and timely. Front staff was responsive. Worth a recommendation.

"Comfortable rooms, location is off side"
rajivkhattar, 12 Juillet 2017

Stayed there for two nights, the hotel is neat and clean, room are spacious, staff is very courteous and helpful. I had bad experience with House keeping, and that makes my rating to average. Location is little off the city , difficult to find eateries nearby except Macd.

"Decent place "
Tejas D, 12 Juillet 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is typical best western types. Around 10mins from main train station frm where v can take bus no-2 having direction to OBERGNIGL and get off at sterneckstrasse. Hotel is back side of the bus stop. Had taken salzburg card so transport was very easy and efficient. Rooms are little small as had taken cot for my baby. Staff was responsive and allowed my wife to cook for my 18 month son. For breakfast had asked for cut fruits which were not given to us don't know why. And when inquired they said will serve at the table and then the lady manager got furious. Little far frm city centre. But overall stay was pleasant

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! Very Very Bad Customer service"
Andreas H, 03 Juillet 2017

I stayed in this hotel as part of a group tour for 2 nights. The room is very basic and lighting is not adequate. The room is dark! The decor is ugly as well. Whats worse is the customer service! To begin with, there is only 1! Only 1! Receptionist standing by whom have double or triple duty doing everything by her own. One of the room that we had is missing 1 bulb. In an already rather dark room, a buld is very important. We then ask for a bulb with the receptionist and she said she cant find any bulb! Hellooooo.. A hotel this big doesnt have working spare bulb?? She refused to get us a bulb from other room, refused our request to be moved to other empty room and refused to do anything about it and told us to accept it the way it is! When we got angry because she didnt even regard her customer well and didnt provide what the hotel SHOULD had provided, she got pissed and told us she is going to call the police! In the receptionist table, there was a writting saying something like "if there is anything that you dont like, let us know and we promised our best to help you". I wonder why its even there when the customer service is this poor! When i showed her this, she took it away and put it in another room without any sort of guilty feeling! I never ever had stayed in a hotel with such a bad customer service and had very little regard for their customer. Trully.. Trully.. Trully dissapointed. I warn you, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! 1 more thing to add, the free wifi is slow! Only 0.3 mbps

"Stayed here at start of cycle tour "
claireinaust, 30 Juin 2017

A bit away from the major attractions but the friendly staff made up for it. For two euros get a bus. Or hire a bike. Would be better to stay closer to the old town tho. Rooms quite small. Has off street parking.

"very nice experience "
Manik S, 21 Juin 2017

It's a lovely property with around 15 minutes walk to the old town. The bus stop is just outside the hotel so connectivity is no issue. Central station was just 2.5kms and just 10minute ride by a cab and takes around 10 euros. Bed was comfortable with good ambience. We checked out hotel at 8 in the morning and kept our luggage in luggage room. We returned Hotel back at 2pm and wanted to cook Maggi. Rebecca helped us a lot. Got us delicious maggi served despite of our check out. I would highly recommend everyone to stay here.

"Got cheated by Best Western"
Sundar_Sethu, 20 Juin 2017

I checked in to Best Western at Salzburg. I would rather say that I ve never had such bad experience before. 1) I had two Double rooms booked. Double bed rooms all over the world have a single double bed and not two single beds, which is twin. Inspite of my booking with double bed, we got a twin with two beds joint. 2) The receptionist is trying to convince me that this is a double bed. Either the company has no clue what a double bed is or they think the customer is an idiot. 3) Receptionist says manager will speak in 1 minute. Later says she s busy in a meeting at 9pm. Who in Europe sits in meeting at 9pm. Ofcourse upon insistance manager calls in couple of minutes. I ve never seen any hotel with such little regard for the customer. 4) The manager also tries to convince me what a double bed is. Blames that booking was done by agent and information came too late that it was a double bed. Whereas the email printout with the receptionist has date 31.05. 5) Their website has double bed with a single bed picture and not two single beds. We checked, mentioned and showed to receptionist. Also mentioned to the manager. 6) There is a distinct 30% price difference between a twin room and double room. Manager and receptionist are offering free drink to try and make up for the situation. The manager had no idea to give us a double bed nor discount the price nor waive the breakfast. Somehow the intension seems to be to cheat the customer. 7) The room on top of all this was stinking and we had to ask for air freshener. I will never ever book best western in my life again. No wonder hotel business is losing to airbnb. In our 10 day holiday, this is the only day we had a hotel reservation, rest all were apartments booked via airbnb where we were treated extremely well and got luxurious accomodation. This is the most expensive of all with the worst experience.

"Wouldn't stay here again"
Sally D, 27 Mai 2017

We stayed at this hotel recently it wasn't our own choice as we were travelling with an organised group for 3days. The rooms were very basic, small and quite dark. Although there's a kettle and cups in the room if you want tea or coffee you have to go to reception and ask for it and there's a charge of €5, so I wud advise to bring a few teabags with u. the breakfast is quite good plenty to choose from. The bar service is non existent, very poor indeed. There is no bar person as such if you want a drink your have to ask the receptionist (when she's there that is). Also there is no restaurant in the hotel so you will have to go into town. Overall quite disappointing.

"Helpfull staff, neutral rooms"
Dominus73, 18 Mai 2017

This hotel is situated 20 mins from city center (on foot) and some bus lines like thoes going to the lakes (i think it was 150). PROS: very helpful reception and people at the restaurant, clean, better priced than others, very good bed mattress. CONS: room decoration was a bit neutral for me, cleaning people would come at no specific times so once or twice room was not cleaned cause we had already returned, also 20 min walk back and forth may prove to be quite an exercise... Breakfast was pleasant but typical. I would not mind to revisit and my fourth star goes for the personell and not for the hotel interior...

"Excellent value for money"
ButtonsandPumpkin, 07 Avril 2017

Stayed here for a week in March 2017. After reading reviews this was with some trepidation but this was unwarranted. The receptionist (Miguel?) was friendly and very helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The room was ready at 3pm and on entering we were impressed. It was spacious and very clean. The toilet, hand basin and shower were tucked into one corner and all in good working order. There were spare toilet rolls and plenty of soap and shower gel in the dispensers which were kept topped up. There were plenty of towels which were changed if we left them on the floor. The twin beds were pushed together as a double and comfortable with 2 pillows each and single duvet's. The room including the bathroom area was cleaned and the beds made each day. There was hanging space with plenty of coathangers and shelves for clothes. There was a small fridge/mini bar which could be used to store cold drinks and fresh milk bought from the supermarket opposite the front door. There was a kettle and tea and coffee which were replaced as used. We did not have the breakfast as we thought it quite pricey and there was a McCafe just round the corner. The windows opened which helped keep the room cool and the sound of the road traffic was not bad and almost non existent when windows closed. The nets ensured privacy and the thick curtains blocked out the light. We did have a problem with our keycard but once we were advised to keep it away from our electronic devices we had no further problem. The female receptionists were not so good with English which may have made them seem distant but they were helpful and let us store our bags in a room next to reception after we checked out. It was a pleasant 20 min walk into the main town but there were regular buses in various directions too. The only disappointment was not the hotel's or its staff's fault but that of other guests. A party of oriental guests banged on doors and made a LOT of noise at 6am every morning which was very inconsiderate of others.

"Breakfast not worth it otherwise the hotel is okay"
CLJMG, 19 Mars 2017

Like with other reviews we arrived a little early to be told our room would not be ready until 3pm. I knew this was probably not true but we were allowed but said nothing as we able to leave our cases and travel into town. Later on getting to the room we found it to be spacious and clean although in the morning the curtains did nothing to keep out the morning light! the sauna was nice without being anything special. I stay in close to a hundred nights a year in hotels and this breakfast rated as average among them so I was very surprised that they wanted 15 euros per person. Tea and coffee are in the room for free. Lastly, the entrance to the car park involves driving down a very tight spiral ramp, very difficult in large cars or vans, I had 4 people from the bus stop above offering advice as I inched down, I made it though without any scratches.

"Convenient and cheap hotel"
User, 06 Mars 2017

I stayed here with my daughter for a couple of nights. The room was spacious and very clean and we had a bath- yippee! The sauna room was empty on the Saturday evening, and it was great to come back to after a hard days sightseeing! The breakfast was €15 each, initially we only paid for one morning, we were so impressed by the variety and taste that we booked breakfast for the second morning too! The staff were lovely and very helpful. Transport into the old town - buses and taxis are easily available, try to get a ticket from the machine rather than pay on the bus. It's much cheaper. Overall, theBest Western is 20 or so mins walking away from all the tourist attractions, but reflects that in the price.

"Very BAD AND DISAPPOINTED RECEPTION"
Hendra W, 12 Février 2017

The reception DOESNT KNOW HOW TO BE POLITE and simple make everything COMPLICATED, My client left the Key card in the room and the reception told us to go get key. The HOLD THE DEPOSIT just for a key card. The lady reception speak very rude and unpolite as a RECEPTION. VERY NOT RECOMENDED TO STAY HERE.. AVOID THIS JUNK HOTEL.

"Generally good"
adr82, 10 Février 2017

Not the closest hotel to the city centre but it's very easy to get to on a bus or by spending 15-20 minutes on foot, and the prices are low enough to make up for the extra distance. The room I had was bigger than I'd expected and nicely furnished, no complaints about it. Only problem was it being too hot despite the aircon, meaning I had to open a window and deal with the increased traffic noise from the busy road just outside. The staff were all very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate any requests we made. They were also having to deal with what (judging by previous reviews) are some surprisingly persistent problems with their room keycard systems which I hope they will sort out ASAP - having to request the reception staff escort you to your room so they can open your door for you isn't ideal!

"Nice hotel"
AmericaHolidaylover, 16 Novembre 2016

Modern clean hotel that serves breakfast at €15 (little pricey, but typical of hotel prices) Has a bar but no restaurant which is a shame. A little out of the way of the city centre, takes 15-20 mins to walk. Caught a bus to and from the airport to the hotel, really easy, bus stop right outside, cost €2.50... A bargain. Would recommend if you don't mind walking..

"Awesome city"
leigh227, 12 Novembre 2016

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel earlier this year to visit the city of Salzburg. Traveling on a bit of a shoestring meant we'd staying in a few dodgy hotels, however, this particular hotel was amazing for a very reasonable price. Rooms are extremely spacious, modern, comfortable and relatively quiet. Old town is only a 15 - 20 min walk away, or you can catch a bus from straight outside the hotel. I'd recommend buying a weekly pass, I wasted a lot of money in my first few days on single passes. Don't pay attention to the other reviews saying the hotel is too far out of the way, I was able to jog into the city centre in less than 10 minutes when I left my wallet in a pub!! The staff were great as well, very friendly, spoke fluent English and had a very good knowledge of the city and the best mode of transport. The old town itself is probably my favorite in Europe, I'd recommend checking everything in the city and outskirts out, it has just about everything you'd want. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Only German speaking TV "
Suzanne B, 07 Novembre 2016

Lovely hotel very nice and clean and breakfast very nice but downfall for us was there was only German TV only 1 engish speaking channel which was the news was frustrating as we were back in our room early every night with having our 2 year old son and also was not impressed with the single beds pushed together as every time either of us lyed in the middle would fall in between the beds.

"Nice and cozy accommodation"
MarketaW, 06 Novembre 2016

Very nice and modern hotel. approx 20 mins walk from the city centre. Staff was helpfull althought they didnt book me a taxi (as I requested in the morning). I had to take a bus to railway station and almost lost my train because of this.

"The best of our three-week trip, highly recommended"
JustATravelerWest, 30 Octobre 2016

After three weeks traveling throughout Europe, this was the best hotel of our stay. The room was large and clean, beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the shower was outstanding (roomy, plenty of hot water). We walked everywhere, including into town, which was about a 30-minute trip each way, with plenty of grocery stores and restaurants. The tram back to the Hbf station is just a few minutes' walk away. The women who run the front desk, who seem to run the entire hotel, were truly gifted. They switched easily between German, English and Italian, and those are just the languages we heard. They were so helpful, consistently friendly and more than willing to figure things out for us. We would stay here again without hesitation.

"Enjoyed Stay"
Mike M, 24 Octobre 2016

We arrived in Salzburg by train. From the station the hotel would have been at least a half hour walk for those in our group who were pulling luggage. On advice from the tourist info booth at the station, we learned what bus to take to the hotel. It dropped us off right in front of the hotel, but the hotel is very poorly signed. We actually walked a couple hundred metres in the wrong direction, before re-grouping and figuring we were originally in front of the building! Much better signage is needed to identify this hotel! Otherwise the hotel was good, the staff friendly and helpful, the rooms were good and the breakfast was wonderful. The one person tending to the breakfast did an excellent job; she even took orders for individually prepared eggs per the guests' wishes. Several bus lines have stops close to the hotel. Using the buses we could go anywhere we wanted to in Salzburg. We got pretty good at it in no time at all!

"Long weekend trip to Salzburg"
Dave F, 19 Octobre 2016

The hotel is nice and the room also comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn't great as only one staff in the canteen area and one chef in the kitchen.... slow service when foods run out. The bus services are excellent location from the hotel to the central of Salzburg about 5 minutes ride or 20-25 minutes walk. I would only go back to this hotel if the breakfast service improved.

"Two nights"
Bronco124, 16 Octobre 2016

The staff was helpful and friendly, but we didn't like the motel itself. The toilet area and the shower had opaque glass, but it still didn't provide for privacy, especially the toilet area. The lighting in the room was very poor making it hard to read. Bring your own pillow because the ones in the room are flat. The motel was about a 30 minute walk to Old Towne.

"Awesome location, great staff"
Architect2be, 13 Octobre 2016

Room was huge but interior is rather dark. Lighting was wee bit dim for a room of that size. Mine had a column right in the middle which was odd, position-wise. Other than that, the location is great; Lidl and Mcdonalds very close by. A supermarket right across the road is always a good thing. Staff is friendly. Glad that i had my bacon and eggs made to order as they ran out of food during breakfast due to a large tour group who just left.

"One night stay in Salzburg"
gneveri, 07 Octobre 2016

The room was tidy and quiet. The old town centre is a bit far by foot, but there are two main trolley lines next to the hotel which goes to the centre. If you arrive by car there is an additional parking fee.

"Nice hotel"
ramorris3, 16 Septembre 2016

We only stayed one night, arrived early on Saturday and left late on Sunday, left our bags behind the reception on Sunday after checkout. Clean hotel, nice bathroom, great shower, friendly and helpful reception, located just a little bit outside the center. We walk everywhere so it was about a 15-25 min walk depending upon where in the city one wanted to go. Only one "complaint" is that the curtains do not cover all of the windows and so when the sun comes up the room begins to immediately light up... Oh and they upgraded us to a Suite for free, not bad!

"Beautiful Views"
Anna_McG87, 13 Septembre 2016

I recently stayed in this hotel on my visit to Salzburg. This is a lovely hotel, the rooms are a little small however there are beautiful views of the mountains through the windows and also lovely big bathrooms with big luxury baths. Very clean and modern, quirky bold retro style. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Huge variety in the breakfast, very nice something for everyone. 24 hour bar if you're into that sort of thing, and a nice place to just sit down and relax. Within walking distance of the town. Excellent location.

"Brand new hotel, not far from the city center!"
187874Don, 08 Septembre 2016

I reckon this hotel was restored recently - everything is brand new. The staff is polite and helpful - rooms are very clean and big enough to enjoy your stay there.Breakfast is fine - nevertheless it could be improved. A car parking is available to customers. The heart of Salzburg is about fifteen minutes on foot . I felt very comfortable!

"Nice hotel but all together pricy."
JanvDriel, 20 Août 2016

The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and nice. Hotel is a bit difficult to find, even with navigation. Parking might be a problem, despite the fee of €15,- the parking was full and you could only park outside in front of the hotel and the spaces are not easy to park in. Furthermore the price if the breakfast is rather high €15,- Together with the room price + parking + breakfast you end up to € 150,- easily for 1 night.

"We run hotel near the sites of Salzburg"
382allanr, 06 Août 2016

The hotel is easily missed when walking along the busy street it is located on. We had walked past the hotel and had to backtrack a block and a half once we realized we had walked well past. The hotel is very clean and modern. The breakfast is complete with fresh fruit, cheese, pastries, and an assortment or egg and meat options. The service crom the staff easily surpassed service we have received in other hotels in Munich and Vienna.

"Great room but hate the bathroom"
Suzette M, 27 Juillet 2016

Very nice hotel in great location. Very handy to supermarket and shops. Spacious Separate toilet, always handy when 2 people are sharing a room, but bathroom, (shower and hand-basin) has no bathroom door. And the walls of both toilet and bathroom and the door of the toilet are glass! Sure, it's mildly opaque but you can see a very clear outline of your roommate in the shower or toilet. Some people may find this erotically titillating. I prefer my privacy, thanks. At check-out I mentioned to the receptionist we didn't like the glass walls/door and she just shrugged her shoulders and said it was part of the modern art theme of the hotel. This is not modern art. It's simply poor design. Another bathroom problem: no towel rails and nowhere to hang your towel between uses. Other than the bathroom issues it was a great room. Small fridge, hot water kettle with cups and tea/coffee. Comfortable twin beds on one queen bed base. Why the 2 mattresses?? Bedside lamps useless! Bulb wattage so low it was impossible to read. No heating facilities. Our first night was very cold and there was no way of raising the temperature in our room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Supermarket just across the road. Overall rating: 4/10. Just fix the shower/toilet walls and door problem, put a queen mattress on the queen base and and increase the wattage of the bedside lights and you would have a first rate hotel.

"Sound of Music visit"
Marion S, 20 Juillet 2016

This was our first visit to Salzburg and we were not disappointed. Our choice of hotel at the Amedia was excellent. On arrival we were warmly greeted and nothing was too much bother to our friendly receptionist. Her English was perfect and she was very helpful with information regarding travelling throughout the city. Our room was very comfortable with a great shower and sufficient storage space. The buffet breakfast was more than enough to cater for all tastes. The trolleybus from the airport stops outside the hotel which made our travel very easy and cost effective. We certainly will be planning a return and this hotel would be our first choice.

"Nice hotel outside the center of Salzberg"
Marco W, 17 Juillet 2016

The spacious and clean aroom includes a large screen TV with many cable stations including BBC and CNN for English. It also includes a safe, refrigerator, small water kettle. Each room has individual heating /AC controls. The Wi-Fi was free and worked well in the rooms. It was the fastest hotel Wi-Fi that we have had in Europe in two weeks. We walked to the train station in 15 or 20 minutes and likewise to Mirabell Palace in about the same. While not particularly scenic, the walk downtown is safe and on sidewalks the entire way. Note there are also bus options that stop immediately outside the hotel and run directly downtown. The hotel is situated between 2 major streets heading into downtown Salzburg. Happily, the windows are good and there was very little road noise in the rooms. The buffet breakfast was good and included both hot and cold items. The staff was friendly and helped us with questions and included some recommendations. It was a great value for the size of the room and the rate. I would recommend it.

"Great place to stay"
Marilyn C, 08 Juillet 2016

Our room was very spacious, bright and the decor arty and modern. The bed was very comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities (always a big bonus in European). There was a sauna and steam bath which was most welcome for weary travellers. The guy on the desk was very friendly and helpful.

"Nice Hotel"
Marta H, 05 Juillet 2016

The hotel was nice and clean. We were put into a disabled room, which I don't prefer, but otherwise was happy with our stay. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was your typical European spread.

"Good quality hotel at motel prices "
slimmerthanever, 29 Juin 2016

A little distance away from the old town but easily reachable via a reliable and frequent no 4 bus or S Bahn to Gringl. A taxi back late only €8. Generous well equipped rooms with huge en suite. Very well cleaned and maintained. Staff very helpful and efficient. Bar could be better stocked!

"Great hotel!"
Sandra1323, 25 Mai 2016

About a 20 minute walk to the Old Town of Salzburg and about a 5 minute walk to the train station (Salzburg Gnigl) We struggled to find it coming from the train station as the front entrance was on the other side of the building. Amazing buffet and the staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and modern. For sure a great pick for a resonable price!

"Looks could be deceiving"
Melvi P, 22 Mai 2016

I got a Pretty good deal for hotel in Salzburg.. Though it looked like a prison from the outside the interiors were pretty impressive and so was the staff and the breakfast.. The room is small but will planned.. And the place is connected with buses to the airport and train station every 20 mins.

"it's about the inside which counts"
Steph T, 20 Mai 2016

The hotel, for us, was ideally located as we don't like to be too on top of the hussle and bussle yet near enough for a walk. We arrived from the airport to the Maribellplatz area on the no2 tram, and took a 15min walk up a straight road to the hotel (we did find the ticket machine a little tricky to operate at the airport outside, but that was mainly because we didn't know the name of the stop that we needed for the hotel). When we got to this triangle that the hotel sits on, the entrance was to the quieter road side facing the small shopping mall. It has a large seating area/bar at the reception, so we waited until 3pm to check-in as we didn't wish to pay the extra to check-in earlier. Our booking didn't include breakfast, but when we said we weren't sure whether we would have it or not, they then gave us some vouchers. Our room was next to the "wellness" room, but we didn't hear too much disturbance from people using it, which we did every day. Our room was rather hot in the evenings, and the heating in the room was turned off, so perhaps that was due to the sauna next door! Even with the window open at night, we still slept well and found the beds comfortable. The bathrooms are "open planned" style, but our room wasn't as "open" as I think others maybe as the glass was frosted. We had been worried that there was no soap in the rooms as other reviews hadn't mentioned this, but yay! There is soap! Another odd thing to mention, the toilet roll was good, not like the cheap thin ones I've had at hotels like the Premier Inn in the UK. Also, there is a note saying to leave towels on the hooks if you want to re-use them, or put them on the floor for the cleaners to remove and replace with fresh ones. Well we kept them on the hooks but each day the cleaners replaced. There is tea and "espresso" making facilities...pot luck what kind of tea bags you get, so at breakfast we would take a handful. This maybe a British gripe, but the cups are small, and you can't even put your finger through the handle so you end up holding the rather hot cup, or you just have to wait for your two mouthfuls of drink to get cool enough to hold it. We also had to ask for some milk at reception as non is provided in the room. We did take two larger glass mugs from the breakfast area for our room, but the cleaners took them back. Another odd thing was the tv...there were channels that didn't view...so maybe they need updating to make sure the channels can be seen. And after a few minutes the tv volume would suddenly drop down to level 3. Just all on it's own! Not that the volume made much difference to the viewing as we don't speak German and there were no English stations. Overall it is a good hotel, and if it provided more then the price would be silly. Breakfast is typical- fruits, breads, cereals, yoghurts, scrambled egg and bacon (no toast sadly). Clean and tidy, with helpful staff.

"Not so much criticism, as feedback"
Ioana B, 17 Mai 2016

So here's the thing: this is a nice and clean hotel with larger than average rooms. That part is very straight forward. We did however have some surprises that I want to write about, simply as information to other tourists who may want to know this kind of stuff. The hotel doesn't have a large sign on every side and the entrance is from a side street, so it can be hard to find. We arrived in the night and walked from the train station (about 20 minutes to get there and it was raining). The room itself was larger than expected, which was nice. There's no privacy in the bathroom, so only get a room there if you're going with your significant other. The bed was comfortable, the pillows could easily be replaced with some newer/better quality ones. Other than that, the room was great. Reception staff was not consistently nice/polite. The guy working when we arrived was super nice and friendly, the woman working when we checked out was quite unfriendly, so it all depends on luck in this regard. Breakfast was nice and not expensive at all (their listed price was 15 EUR/day and I assumed it was per person but it turned out at the end that it was actually per room). There is a "wellness area" that is accessible free of charge. In some places they will write "fitness room". There is actually one exercise bike, one steam room (for 2) and one sauna. There's towels there and also 2 showers. You can ask for robes and slippers from the reception. My issue with this: I got to see way too many naked people. Again, this is not meant as criticism, I should have done my homework before going there (I was wearing a swimsuit, as I didn't know exactly what's up there, if there's a pool or not, what the policy is regarding the sauna, etc.). The point is, there were more than 6 naked people there and I did not expect it. I hope this information helps.

"Something a little different"
heathermI1825UU, 15 Mai 2016

We had a pleasant stay, welcoming and helpful staff, and enjoyed the modern decor. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bus was conveniently located across the street from the hotel and it was easy to get around by bus.

"Fantastic hotel with very friendly staff!"
Ash H, 04 Mai 2016

This hotel is perfect for any young coupes, individuals or large groups visiting Salzburg. I recently stayed here during a week long visit with my girlfriend in early May. The hotel is a short 20 minute walk from the Old Town and all the main attractions making it very easy to find. If you'd prefer to take a bus into town the number 4 operates regularly right outside the hotel and is very cheap especially for those using the "Salzburg Card", which I highly recommend! The hotel staff are some of the friendliest I have met during my many holidays across Europe and are always happy to help and always full of smiles. The hotel breakfast is delicious and the option for a freshly cooked omelette comes highly recommend from my girlfriend. I plan to visit Salzburg again during a warmer time of year to see the Kehlsteinhaus and the wonderful view atop of the Obersalzburg and would definitely return to the Amedia Plus.

"Good price"
carman101, 03 Mai 2016

This is a very clean modern hotel. It is situated about a 20 minute walk from the town centre. You can use the public transport - bus stop outside the hotel leaves you in town in about 5mins. A good breakfast was included in price. The room was very clean and much bigger than most hotels.

"Perfect place to stay in Salzburg!"
scatterbrainjoe, 28 Avril 2016

I stayed here for one evening while I visited Salzburg as a solo traveller and couldn't find a suitable hostel. I'm so glad I stayed here! From arrival to departure this hotel is fantastic! Friendly reception staff who couldn't do enough for you, they remember guests names and call you by Mr xxx for the duration of their shift. Fantastic service from the new guy working Fri 22/04 in the evening on reception and his trainer! Sorry I didn't get your names but you're both brilliant!!! As mentioned in other reviews the hotel has a sauna and steam room open 17:00-23:00 daily which is free for the use of guests. This is a lovely relaxing space which was extremely quiet when I was there. Rooms are extremely comfortable with a massive bath and lots of space. I chose not to close the window so I could have fresh air through the night and while I was woken up with a little traffic noise this wasn't an issue as I was so tired from travelling and sightseeing all day I just fell back asleep. The hotel is fairly plain from outside but is lovely and modern inside. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel (15 euros extra is a bit much for a budget traveller) but I'm sure it would have been lovely. My only gripe is that if you want to check in earlier than the 15:00 standard check in time there is a sliding scale of cost. I arrived at 14:15 and was told that it would be 15 euros to check in then. I did notice that you could (if there were rooms available) check in as early as 09:00 I think it was but this was considerably more expensive. I opted to leave my luggage in the luggage room and go into town but thought a 30 minute grace period would be good so that you could check in from 14:30 at no extra cost. I would happily have sat in the bar and had a beer while I waited, instead I spent my money in town on lunch. Overall though, a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend staying here!

"Modern hotel with amazing staff"
Channabella, 26 Avril 2016

Modern hotel located 20 minutes walk from the city center (5 minutes by public transport conveniently located just outside the hotel if you don't want to walk). Stayed in a double room, which was modern, clean and had lovely views out to the mountainside. The hotel also has the most friendly and helpful staff which made our stay so lovely. Overall a really memorable stay in the musical art themed hotel close to city center and close to eateries and shopping right across the road. Everything you need for a lovely stay in Salzburg. Also free wifi is great and coffee/tea provided in rooms.

"Week long City break"
IanChalmers, 28 Mars 2016

This hotel is an ideal location for a city break, easy access from airport on a No 2 or 10 tram with a stop right outside hotel. All the staff that we dealt with during our weeks stay were very friendly and helpful. Reception staff spoke every time you passed and the staff in the dining room at breakfast could not have been more helpful. The rooms were very comfortable with a safe and tea and coffee was provided every day and the towels and bed linen were changed everyday. There was a wide range of hot and cold food at breakfast catering for everyone. The only thing I missed was toast, but this is a small price to pay.

"Quiet room"
Henrik L, 03 Février 2016

The room was very quiet at night, and no noise was heard from the main road very close by. Good greek restaurant, Akropolis, just in front of the hote. Possibility of parking garage under the hotel for a minor fee. Several shopping opportunities in the surroundings.

"Great hotel in an OK location"
nancyhX5366LU, 30 Décembre 2015

I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg hotel. The staff was very friendly and gave us some useful local info and restaurant recommendations. The location was a bit out of the way (about a 20min walk from Old Town) and slightly further from the Airport, but it has really good bus links which we only discovered on the 2nd day. We didn't mind the walk though as the Austrian food was SO GOOD that the 20min walk was really helpful for digestion. The rooms are generously sized (compared to the UK spaces that I'm used to) with nice bathroom facilities. There is also free wifi, which happens to be quite speedy too, again, a nice surprise when compared to some UK hotels. The breakfast was also very nice with a decent selection and clean restaurant. This hotel was by far the best value for money that I have booked.

"Fresh hotel outside of the city center"
Edgar V, 27 Décembre 2015

My three nights in this hotel was a pure joy. The room was very clean, fresh and cool looking with all this red color and musical themed interior. It was on the top floor with some view over the Kapuzinerberg, which I found pretty nice. It lies a bit outside of the old town, but great news Salzburg is not a big town, so reaching the city center takes you around 15 minutes walking. Or just take the trolley bus nr 4 ride of 5min. The bus stop is right outside. The staff is getting some extra cred from me for their helpfulness and kindness. I recommend this place to anyone deciding to stay in Salzburg!

"Sound Of Music Tour"
jivebunny1, 16 Décembre 2015

Stayed here for three nights in November with a friend. I booked a twin room but on arrival was allocated a double. I queried this with reception and the rude girl told me that no twin rooms were available - we managed to separate the base of the bed and made the best of the situation. The sauna/steam room was nice but be warned, the continentals like their naturism and we were frowned upon for wearing costumes. Perhaps the hotel could allocate certain times for certain activities. The hotel is quite far out from the city and I would say it is a good half hour stroll which we didn't mind at all. The trams and buses are very efficient but as time was on our own we walked everywhere. Salzburg is a beautiful city and we enjoyed The Sound of Music Tour but I would not stay at this hotel again. I would recommend travellers to research and stay nearer the city.

"Decent place but staff not at all accomodative..."
Sudarshan B, 29 Octobre 2015

A decent hotel with nice, spacious, and clean room but a little away from the city center - this is hardly an issue as you get a bus right outside the hotel gate and take you to city center in less than 10 mins. A hotel in the city center would have definitely been more convenient but this was also not a problem. On the negative side, I thought that the staff could have received us with a smile - I am not saying that they don't help; they replied to each an every question that we posed to them. It was just the smile that was missing, which make you feel a little less welcomed. Plus, the check-in was a bit of a hassle. We reached at around 2 pm for the 3 pm check-in. We were given the room keys but were told not to use the room until 3 as it was not ready. At 3 pm when I went to the room, it was a total mess. I understand that it was a mistake by the housekeeping staff (things like these are mere human errors!), and I was immediately given a new room, but my point is that why make a guest wait in the lobby if the early check-in was only by 1 hour. Overall we had a decent stay. Nothing extraordinary but no complains as such!!

"October Break"
David W, 24 Octobre 2015

Had a most enjoyable 5 night stay at this hotel. Please do not be put off because the location of this hotel which is slightly out of the city centre. We walked to and from the city centre which took about 15 mins. However there are also excellent and cheap transport links. For example bus 10 from outside the hotel takes you the airport in 30 mins for 2.50 euros. Would also recommend walking over the Kapuzinerburg hill next to the hotel into the city for its views. Friendly hotel staff especially the breakfast staff. Nice breakfast with a good range.

"Great place!!"
AEboylston, 21 Octobre 2015

Great place to stay..friendly staff!! Breakfast was great, lots to choose from. Not too far from City Center. Internet worked great!! Would stay here again. Good restaurants nearby. Good parking. Very reasonable pricing!!

"Excellent hotel and great staff"
CliffordP688, 01 Octobre 2015

Nice clean modern rooms in a very modern setting. Our room was on the inside looking on to a courtyard and was very quiet. Bus stop is just around the corner and will have you downtown in just a few minutes. S train station only a block away giving easy access to the main train station. The front desk staff were outstanding. Michaela & Melissa could not do enough to get us pointed in the right direction and helping with our bookings for our next stay.

"Reasonable price 6 min tram ride from city centre"
Karen S, 13 Septembre 2015

Functional, clean and fairly good location. 6 minutes to the centre via tram. You can pay to park. Breakfast is included with a wide selection of hams, cheeses, fruit etc from a self service Buffett. We had a free upgrade to a room which included a kettle and coffee, not sure if all rooms have this. A large modern bathroom with a shower over the bath. Good quality towels and above average quality bed linen. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The reception staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful. Checkout was easy.

"Low level"
dennis20052015, 21 Août 2015

1. Very noisy, they have cleaned the hallway between 3 and 6 pm. 2. We have to wait the room to be ready more than 1 hour after the check-in. 3. Long way to the city center. 4. The most important thing: we have no bathroom, we have a shower and WC but in principal room, so there is no intimacy.

"Excellent hotel, but not very central"
jonathan827, 19 Août 2015

The hotel is a mile from the station and a mile from the town centre. And it looks like a car park. Other than that it is absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The beds are comfortable and everything worked. The staff were generally helpful. Breakfast was amazing - so much choice and available from 7am daily. Overall a great place to stay if you don't mind the walk (or bus ride) to town.

"Reasonable prices"
Tom C, 15 Août 2015

BEST WESTERN PLUS Amedia Art it's a new hotel located away from center so that could be disadvantage but the rest of our was ok.Spacious rooms with nice interior design.Very clean. At last I would like to say thank You. PS:For travelers going to Salzburg-this hotel is cheap alternative to other hotels in Salzburg, with high quality standarts. We stayed first night at other hotel in the city center and then decided to move to Amedia Art Hotel.
