I was traveling to California through Salem so my wife called and made a reservation for me since I was driving. Got there to check in and since she was not physically there with me, they would not honor the reservation even though the card is a joint account. Had to start over and the new rate at the front desk was about $30 more than the online price. She said they can't match any online rate at their front desk. Then I got slapped with a $200 deposit.unbelievable. If you want to deal with a 12 year old who is clueless after a long hot day of driving and up sells, go there. Worst experience of my trip. Don't wast your time. Keep driving.

"Hidden gem"

sixyone2, Tacoma, Washington 12/04/2021

Just off I-5 in Salem in a extremely nice ,quiet and reasonable Best Western facility that I consider a hidden gem. It's biggest problem is there are very little food outlets near the place. Other than that it's clean, quiet, comfortable, relatively inexpensive and friendly place to stop on your trip. I've always been more than satisfied at every time I have stopped there and highly recommend this place

"Rude check out person"

Memineandyours, Bandon, Oregon 10/04/2021

This is an OK Best Western. Nothing to write home about. The check out girl was rude, unhelpful and not caring. The evening lady at check in was wonderful. Room was not sanitized as the coffee pot was filthy with mold growing inside and underneath. Might stay again but the other best Western in Salem, Oregon is 10 times better.

"Cost effective stay"

dreamdriven04, Bend, Oregon 23/03/2021

Bed was a bit uncomfortable, but staff was great. Had the cable stop working and they had me unplug and replug it all. Kinda strange, but maybe covid related process. We didn't take part in breakfast so can't review that. Overall great value for the $

"Nice Place to Stay"

Tsaca, White City, Oregon 04/03/2021

The employee's were nice and helpful during check-in and check out. The Check-out employee was very nice. Breakfast was given in a paper lunch sack to be eaten in the room, which was appreciated. I would consider staying in this hotel again.

"Everything was wonderful!"

Cats_3verywhere, Prineville, Oregon 16/02/2021

Very clean and comfortable as always! We stayed in a different motel our fist night in town that was awful and switched to this one for the next four nights. We're so glad we switched! Definetly recommend this motel!!!

"Was fine"

justinpv, Albany, Georgia 07/12/2020

I will say, if you need a place to stay with a good shower, these are great. We were just hoping for a nice night out before our baby comes and this wasn't the place for that. We got a king bed and the room was great but then the tenants below us were smoking and it was drifting to our room. We called the front desk and initially they didn't really believe me but eventually they said "I don't want to deal with this tonight so we'll just move you." Uh thanks, sorry to inconvenience you I guess. But unfortunately we couldn't stay in a king size which meant we had to sleep in separate beds (she has a big pregnancy pillow right now). Breakfast was meh. Idk, it just wasn't great.

Jake Bryant, Owner at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
I'm sorry about your recent experience with us. I will share this with our front desk staff, and we will work to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future.

"Nasty Dirty Hotel"

User 14/09/2020

We got a Go Now order to evacuate our home due to the Oregon fires. My husband used agora to reserve 2 adjoining rooms for 3 nights. We paid $967.40. Rooms were nasty dirty. Dark hair on the walls and floor of both bathrooms. No shower curtain. The bathtub plug was broken and clogged with hair. The beds were hard as rocks and the sheets felt like sand paper. But by far the worst part about this place was the woman working the front desk. She was rude, unhelpful and completely heartless toward my 4 young kids who were so scared. They just wanted to go in the pool. The person who took our information when we booked the room did not include them on the reservation. Kids stay free so maybe they were just lazy. Whatever the reason the front desk “manager” refused to let the kids swim until she got an email allowing her to add them to our reservation. We were told that 4 emails were sent. Shame on her. My little 4 year old finally gave up hoping and said “Please, can we go home now.” After staying only 1 night we left. We got two beautiful suites at the Comfort Suites in Corvallis for less money and the kids can swim anytime they want. They also gave everyone free dinner every night and had a table of toys and necessities for kids and all kinds of pet supplies, all free for evacuees. They were great! As for the Best Western, they were the worst hotel experience I have ever had!!! Don't go

"Very nice front desk ladies, clean rooms"

samanthaduh85, Oakridge, Oregon 13/09/2020

The front desk ladies both check in and check out the next day we're extremely nice and very helpful when we had internet issues to resolve them. We did get to use the pool by ourselves for 45 minutes due to covid, alone. I would suggest calling when you book to reserve your spot, because we had to wait until the next morning at ten am to swim. Two of my kiddos missed out due to sleeping in because our only time we could reserve was so early.

"Great stay and very friendly staff"

User 15/08/2020

Misty, the front desk clerk, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She knew we had a dog and booked us a room right next to the pet area where the puppy can do his business. Room was clean and the beds comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel.

"Very Poor Hotel"

User 27/07/2020

The air conditioning ran non-stop so we had to shut it off. The faucet did not work. When we asked to be moved to another room we were told they would have to check with their manager. After getting back with them twice we were told that they "could not let us move because of COVID". Then they charged us for the day. Poor hotel with poor employees. Stay someplace else.

"Steve B."

User 04/06/2020

Being a truck driver I always have a hard time finding parking. I called the hotel and told the gentleman at the front desk (Milton) that I was in a semi. He asked me to hold and went out side to see if there was enough room for me to park. He said he thought there was room. When I pulled in he was standing outside to make sure I had a place to park. This is going WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND customer service! Milton you rock. Clean quiet room with the best service I have gotten at a hotel. Keep up the fantastic work Best Western. Completely trucker friendly.

"Love Best Western"

quinellandtom, Tillamook, Oregon 23/02/2020

Love Best Western they always do their best for you. Bonus points, good breakfast love the hot tub and pool. They are very friendly. You always get your moneys worth. I don't stay anywhere else except for Best Western.

"Best hotels no matter where you go"

Kristen L, Falls Church, Virginia 17/02/2020

Needed to get away for a night and was able to find this hotel last minute. It had a better price than other high-rated hotels and also had better reviews online. I've always had great experiences with Best Western. They've always been really great when I was traveling with my Great Pyrenees. This time, when I walked into the first room that I had booked, it smelled like cigarettes. The girl at the front desk was able to find me a different room which smelled fine. (It's not the hotel's fault some jerk decided they could get away with smoking in the room). It was an excellent, spacious room. Comfy bed. There also have a swimming pool and large jacuzzi. And the breakfast includes eggs and sausage instead of just bread (like other places). I won't look much further than BW next time I need to get away.

"Don't go here, Go to mill creek next to Denny's and Costco."

dorah155, Redmond, Oregon 07/02/2020

It was ok, I asked the maid for a clean sheet and she gave me one from a room not the linen closet clean and folded. The heating in the room had problems as well you were either cold or hot. I will not be going here anymore. The best western at mill creek are way better they bend over backwards for you and they allways smile.

"Amazing staff and a truly comfy bed."

User 30/01/2020

Love that this place is dog friendly and we were treated really well by the staff. The breakfast is more than enough and freshly made. Would recommend to anyone. Easy access off the freeway and near loads of good restaurants and stores. Good price for a nights sleep.

"Great value"

Janice G, Eugene, Oregon 22/12/2019

Quiet, clean, convenient - just what we needed. Comfortable beds with good pillows. Updated shower, nice towels. We were there on a Friday night and even though it's on a busy street, the room was quiet.

chequitapeacock, Keno, Oregon 09/12/2019

Every one of the employees above and beyond there job requirements. They made me and my 10 year old very welcome.i am looking forward to planning another trip as soon as I can. I will be making reservations to stay with them agen. As soon as possible. Thank you

"Thanksgiving in Salem"

Great rooms, polite staff, good food at breakfast. Have stayed at this Best Western many times and have always had a great experience! The hotel is right off the freeway for easy access and near where our youngest daughter lives.

"Overnight in Salem for the Albany Swap Meet"

GUY T, Goldendale, Washington 18/11/2019

Hotel was easy to find and there's enough restaurants close by for a great selection. Room was fairly basic but met our needs. Standard selection for the TV. Just a 30 minute drive to the Albany Swap meet.

"Very Nice!"

Wildwoodatheart, Santa Rosa, California 15/11/2019

We stayed here on our way down I-5, and were very pleased! It was a rainy evening, and we needed a room where we could stay with our dog. We were able to book over the phone on our way down, and when we arrived check-in was a breeze. We were given a lovely room right near the dog-walking area. This made things very easy for us. The beds were comfortable. The wifi worked well. It was quiet. We got a good night's sleep. We didn't have the chance to check out the pool, but maybe on another trip. Breakfast was a bit better than the average BW breakfast. I really liked this hotel!

"Nice Place, fairly priced "

007DAWG, Renton, Washington 14/11/2019

Check-in was quick and easy, the rooms appear to be recently remodeled, the breakfast buffet in the morning is well stocked and good. The pool and hot tub area are very nice and clean, overall a good place to stay at a reasonable price, I would stay here again

"Serious problems!!!"

User 01/11/2019

This property looks great, smells great BUT has a serious problem with the walls between the rooms being tissue thin, the floor joists old and creaking and if you get a room with a shared door to the next the doors are thin, not insulated and aren't fire doors. Everyone can HEAR EVERYTHING that goes on in the rooms above and next to each other. Be forewarned. And YET... the beds are comfortable, the rooms are large, the bathroom shower big and good water pressure - lots to like about the room except if anyone else is staying at the property!

"Super Quiet with a Nice Shower"

Debbie L, San Francisco, California 15/10/2019

So, this hotel is definitely a Motel that's been refurbished but I have to say that it's the quietest motel ever. It's possible there was no one in the rooms on either side of me but there was someone below us and we never heard them and barely heard anyone outside, cars included. It was so quiet that I double-checked the doors and windows for their thickness. Impressive, for sure. Another reviewer mentioned a dispensary nearby - it's about a block away and I only saw families at this hotel. Never saw anyone having parties as described. My Positives for this Place: - The lack of noise as mentioned above - Clearly renovated recently - most everything looked pretty new - from the outdoor carpet to the built-in night lights in the bathroom - Indoor pool and hot tub were both nice and not used by guests much it seemed - Great walk-in shower, bigger than average - Internet support service was a bonus - called them for help getting on wifi and problems were all resolved in about 5 min. - Comfortable beds and big pillows - TV was large, flat screen and worked fine. - Heating worked fine and even that was quiet. - Decent sized room that included a table, 2 chairs and a desk with an above average desk chair. The Not-So-Positives - Breakfast is pretty standard for Best Western or a Holiday Inn type of stay but after one or two mornings, it's just not great food unless you love fruit loops and sausage links every day. - No elevator, so those with big luggage or strollers would need to stay on the first level. - Mini-fridge, microwave and coffee in the room were all nice to have but should probably be the next things to get an upgrade. - That motel layout doesn't really let you ever look out your window and open your curtains unless you want to wave at people walking by your room. I always forget this so I'd probably not returning for this reason. Too bad, given how quiet it is here. Did I mention it's quiet here? lol

"The Best Hotel Ever"

quinellandtom, Tillamook, Oregon 13/10/2019

Best Western Pacific Highway Inn is Awesome, Amazing and Fantastic. They treat u good. The pool stays open till midnight and checkout is not till noon. You don't feel like u have to rush rush rush to get out.

"Best Hotel in Salem area"

ksshadowfax99, Sisters, Oregon 12/10/2019

I stay at this hotel every time I'm in the area. The rooms are always clean. I never have to worry if I am getting substandard service or cleanliness. The high speed internet works flawlessly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quality place to stay.

"Worst stay ever! Save your money!"

louisp224, Medford, Oregon 10/10/2019

We stayed at this best western as we were traveling from Tennessee to Oregon. We stayed at several along the way and had a great experience. This one not so much. Check in was only one person and it took over 45 min to get checked in. When we walked into the rooms, the pot smell was so bad that it made our eyes burn and water. Solution : gave me a bottle of air freshener to spray in room. It helped a little bit, but was never offered a room change. Never Offered anything. Since we had been traveling and were exhausted we stayed. Up all night with people smoking outside and the pot smell just got worse. Next day the maid tells me that yes she knew those rooms were bad and she had done everything she could get that smell out. So I went to the front desk and they told me that since the dispencery went in behind the hotel that they can not keep the people out of their rooms. People check in just To smoke pot she said. I explained that my family is hugely allergic and that something should have been done. She said they are Working on it. That's nice. There was a stain on my daughters bed sheets and the breakfast, I would not have fed to my dog. Save your money and stay somewhere else. Hotel offered no compensation, paid over $200 for 2 rooms to have a peaceful nights sleep and ended up sick instead.

"Great place to stay"

Ruth S, Sacramento 20/09/2019

This is a quiet, super-clean place with a great breakfast and excellent wifi. The room with king bed included a desk and also a table with two chairs which was great for our takeout dinner. The hotel has two floors but no elevator, so if you prefer not to climb stairs it would be best to ask for a first floor room.

"Great place to stay"

User 09/09/2019

Very clean and affordable. Close to the freeway. The staff was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again. I travel to the area a lot and will recommend the best western to others. i felt respected and welcomed.

"Disappointed. It is a nice place to stay."

User 08/09/2019

●●YOU MIGHT BE SLEEPING ON DIRTY SHEETS.●● My check in was great! The person at the front desk was very, very nice. Day 2 I paid for another nights stay and asked for my room to be cleaned. The person at the front was very nice and helpful. She assured me that my room would be cleaned. The room was clean when I returned back to the room. Still didn't find any issues. I was happy with my stay. That night I pulled my sheets back so I could lay down. I noticed that my sheets were not changed. Before I left the room for the day. I had dumped my bag out on my bed. When I dumped my stuff on my bed, little particles fell onto the sheets. I know for a fact that my sheets were not changed out because the little mess I left was still there. My daughter also use the other bed that night so I'm pretty sure her sheets were not changed either. Her bed was made and looked nice. The following night my daughter did not sleep in the other bed. So in the morning I had to mess her bed up so they would change her sheets out. After getting ready and moving pillows around that next day. I found a pill under the pillow I used. After finding that, it made me really wonder if my sheets were still dirty from someone using the room previously. I did not take any pills while staying in the room. My other run in while staying there was giving mail to the front desk. One of the mail I sent was within Salem. It only takes a day or 2 to get mail delivered in the same town or city. It's Sunday the 8th, 5 days since I mailed the letter and my daughter still has not received her mail. Very, very upsetting to have stayed at this place. I also brought the sheet issue up to the front desk. There was no compensation of any kind. The lady wasn't very nice. When staying in Albuquerque, NM I was compensated for something the company knew was there fault. They were very happy to make accommodations to make their customer, me happy. Not in Salem, Oregon.

"Very Clean and roomy"

Suzanne V, Ashland, Oregon 27/08/2019

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of our room. It was quite roomy and we were very comfortable. We even had a small table with two chairs which we were able to sit at comfortably and eat our dinner.

User 27/08/2019

this is a motel not a hotel on a busy road with very little near it for food services . Due to a problem Best Western was having the only rooms available were on the second floor and no elevator just an open stair case.

"Great location, excellent staff and a wonderful breakfast!"

djfleming2019, Nampa, Idaho 25/08/2019

This Best Western has great staff, very clean rooms and the walkin tiled shower is amazing! Breakfast is the best I have seen at a motel. It had more choices than I have seen before and the food that was suppose to be hot was and the flavor was fantastic!

"Not impressed at all"

ShaleeB, Grants Pass, Oregon 23/08/2019

This hotel made me very uncomfortable to stay at. There's really not much around you with the exception of a gas station and coffee stand. The outside is dingy and needs some work done. The room was adequate but hasn't been updated in many years. But my biggest issue with the hotel was this: when I approached my room (outside door) the door was cracked open an inch. There was a lady standing next to my room smoking in the doorway of her own room (nonsmoking hotel) who sneered at me as I walked up. When I pushed the door open further to see if someone was in my room, I didn't find anyone but it smelled musty. I went to the front desk and expressed my concern and was told not to worry about it, all was fine. They shared that they assumed it was because the maids were running late and just didn't close the door properly but when I said I was uncomfortable staying in a room that had been open to anyone walking by, they refused to provide me with another room. Needless to say, I will never stay at that hotel ever again.

"Clean, great value"

rookiegolpher, Neenah, Wisconsin 15/08/2019

Best shower ever. Clean, comfortable room. Love the coffee and tea available at all hours in the reception room. Highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast is delicious and constantly refreshed. Front desk helpful with directions on where to eat.

"Best Shower In America"

baldwindonm, Orting, Washington 15/08/2019

This facility was one of the "Best" I've stayed in the last year. It was very clean, breakfast had just the right selection of items, it was very clean, staff was polite and accomodating, just an overall nice stay. And the shower was the best I've been in with the exception of my own at home. The price was very appealing. Just an overall great stay!

"Excellent for an overnight stay"

mayamew, Vancouver, Canada 05/08/2019

I was pleasantly surprised by this place, it appeared to be new or newly renovated with better than average fixtures and materials, well soundproofed, and with a good breakfast. The Pacific Highway is busy but you do not hear I-5.

lorahaack, Poway, California 02/08/2019

We were here for a family birthday. We had 2 rooms. Both rooms very nice. Great breakfast. Many choices. Granddaughters loved the pancake maker. Nice pool. Was able to do laundry. All staff office and housekeeping were extremely helpful. Will stay again when in Salem.

"Comfy and breakfast "

archlav, Glenmoore, Pennsylvania 02/08/2019

This was a very pleasant stay. We were able to park just outside our room. The beds were comfortable. The products were made of argan oil which we loved. The showers are with the right temperatures and pressure. We had a hot breakfast of pancakes , bacon, eggs. Cereal with fruit. We couldn't ask for more!

"Just okay"

morgan_bee7, Dover, New Hampshire 31/07/2019

The room was clean (No weird smell), which was nice but the bathroom wasn't lit well in the shower area or sink area; the lights were dull or yellowish. Noise level was low for being next to a main road. Overall a decent stay, but I'm not sure it was worth the price.

"very happy"

They have done some excellent upgrades and improvements. It has easy access's to freeway and good coffee. it was quiet, and beds were very comfortable. WOW loved the shower upgrade. I travel a great deal and have stayed in many motels. I can safely say this one is a 10.

O3989NNjessicaw, Auburn, California 21/07/2019

This best western lives up to the best western standard. The room was clean and spacious with all the little amenities that make it such a nice experience. The only issue we had was needing to run the noisy AC all night or the room heated up to sweating temps almost immediately. Maybe we were by the water heaters or something. It was a one night stay so we didn't ask and there was no vacancy so not worth complaining. Decent free hot breakfast in the morning. Friendly staff. We'll be back as we have family in the area.

Nice Comfy beds. Nice large room. Quiet. Liked the walk-in shower. Location very convenient right off interstate - easy to get to. Within minutes to downtown Salem and river. Quick and easy check in and check out service. Breakfast was very good, nice variety.

"Very nice and comfortable!"

Would not hesitate for a second to recommend this motel. We had a room with 2 queens on the first floor..very clean and never had a problem with upstairs noise. The breakfast was excellant..eggs, sausage or bacon, pancake machine, good donuts, cereal etc. Never had a problem with a place to sit. Used their laundry facilities..charge card so didn't have to rustle up change, again clean. We did the capitol in Salem and just under a half hour to get there. We also drove to the coast from there and it was just over an hour. Glad we stayed!

"Everything that it promised and more!"

mcguirk193, New York City, New York 02/07/2019

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Pacific Highway Inn. We've stayed in fancier places, but the Pacific Highway Inn stands out for being great value, with thoughful amenities as well as a friendly and helpful staff and a much better than average inclusive continental breakfast. Many reviews mention the pancake machine, but I was a big fan of the biscuits, boiled eggs and the breakfast cereal selection. The pool was a nice amenity as was the laundry room (you can pay by credit card, no change needed) The rooms had been recently renovated and were spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. The mini fridge in the room worked well as did the microwave, and the 24hr coffee and tea in the lobby helped me out during a late night packing to leave. Friends who also stayed at the Inn had a dog so had a dog-friendly room right next to a little green area for the dogs to use. When the only complaint that my family could muster is that the pillows are "too puffy", you know that things are good!

This hotel was just what I was looking for while we attended a wedding in Salem. Easy Access, Clean, Accommodating Friendly Staff, Continental Breakfast . Little noisy from guests in the morning but other then that, I would highly recommend. Check-in was quick, easy and that was for 3 families coming in all together attending the same wedding. Kuddos Best Western!!

Melody F, Tillamook, Oregon 20/06/2019

Great location, easy access to I-5 freeway, Salem Fairgrounds, Capitol Building, shopping and restaurants! They have an indoor swimming pool, spa and exercise equipment. They rooms have all been updated recently. They are very clean. Breakfast is great and getting better all the time! Bacon & egg, biscuits & gravy, fruit, etc.

"Great Staff!"

sipriceisright, Denver, Colorado 03/06/2019

My family and I stayed at the BW Pacific Highway Inn for a nearby wedding. We enjoyed our stay, the room was nice and clean. What stood out to us was that one of the workers stayed in our room and helped us when our TV wouldn't work. She was very nice (we just forgot her name).

"Great place to overnight"

DiR46, Carseldine, Australia 30/05/2019

Highly recommend this Best Western. The room we had was large, clean and comfortable. Television had a full array of stations. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and a good range - even though Continental breakfast is advertised, there was a hot breakfast on offer. However if you choose a room at ground level, you may hear some footsteps fro the room above. Easy access on and off the freeway. All in all, a good experience and I would choose to stay here again if in the area.

We booked with a large group. The group pricing was good. The hotel location was very close to our event. The kids enjoyed the pool and they even extended their hours from the year before. The rooms were nice and clean. Great customer service.

This is a older hotel. Noise from room overhead loud. Breakfast area very small. Pet area also designated smoking area so if your a non smoker and need to take your pet out your inhaling second hand smoke. ALL staff were great !

"Delightful Value"

Kathleen H, Eugene, Oregon 10/04/2019

The room was very clean and very nicely appointed (my husband and I both noted the attractive tile work and bath fixtures). The price was reasonable for two seniors traveling with school age grandchildren—competitive with several so-called budget places not nearly as pleasant. The location was convenient to the freeway, but we did not hear freeway noise. The breakfast options were extensive and included fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, yogurt, pancakes and even almond milk. Such a welcome alternative to the prepackaged sweet rolls at many motels. Breakfast hours were also generous. The only drawback was not being able to park near our room: for some reason all spots in front of our section were occupied. We will definitely choose this motel whenever staying again in this area.

We had a mix up in the number of nights were suppose to stay. The staff was VERY rude to us. They called the cops on my 70 year old husband. They would not refund our money. I will NEVER stay at Best Western again.

"OK Stay"

Joy F, Henderson, Nevada, United States 19/03/2019

Clean, quiet. 2 floors and no elevator. Free breakfast, eggs, pancakes, doughnuts, sausage one day bacon the next. Only problem other than the stairs was the air conditioner. It was a little stuffy and air would not come on but once we called front desk someone came within 5 minutes and got it running. Would stay again

"Surprised us all! "

User 18/03/2019

The BW Pacific Highway was eight on the road so we weren't expecting a real quote stay, but we were all very surprised. It was quiet, very clean, had enough towels, and we grabbed extra pillows......customer service was very good from checking in to the help during the evening. Breakfast was the typical “included” stuff that you get everywhere, but it was hot and there was plenty. Love that automatic pancake maker! You do need to do some about the high level of chlorine in the pool though. Adjust that and this is perfect!

henryc790, Pinole, California 12/02/2019

I have stayed in this hotel many time while traveling I5. The rooms are always clean and quiet. I pull a trailer and have always been able to find a place to park it. Breakfast is the usual hotel food - eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy plus a few healthier choices. Dinner can be found within a half mile or so. We usually walk to dinner. A very consistent place to stay.

Great Pool and hot tub, great breakfast. Didn't like having to go through the rain to get to the pool and the breakfast area.. Pool should be open 24 hours like the exercise room is. They are in the same building as the front desk with no rooms visible

"Rude and unprofessional"

Ryan L, Portland, Oregon 28/11/2018

We stayed with a group, the group sent over a CC authorization form so it could be charged. They unfortunately charged my card. They refused to give me a receipt so I could get reimbursed. I have called over 7 times as well as the school district that was suppose to pay for the room. The General Manager has refused to send anything over, and even hung up on me. I am a General Manager with Choice Hotels, and know how these matters should be handled. This GM was one of the most unprofessional individuals I have ever encountered. Do not trust them with your CC card or rely on an customer service to aid you in any process. Also, its a motel, not your usual Best Western.

The BW Pacific Highway Inn is located near shopping and easy access to the highway. The room was clean and quiet and recently renovated. Check in was quick. The staff were knowledgeable about businesses in the area and provided a great recommendation to a nearby Chinese restaurant for dinner.

"Nice clean stay for reasonable cost"

paulgS9773PJ, Burns, United States 22/09/2018

Though this is similar to an old roadside hotel, the rooms are nice and clean and updated. Internet access is great. Indoor swimming pool and fitness center. Near many other amenities in the area. My primary place to stay while in Salem.

User 13/09/2018

$200 a night! For a motel! Smelly room... I stay at best western often, this place is not a standard best western..... very disappointing.... Staff friendly, said there was a harvest event so the room rate increased.

"Good value. Very clean and tidy."

User 02/09/2018

Nice clean room. Allowed dogs and had nice out side potty area with bags! The room was clean and had good amenities. The refer was a little small but functional. Breakfast was great. Modern decor. Pillows where too big to sleep on.

"fair to middlin'"

Mike M, Tacoma 30/07/2018

It's about what you'd expect for a drive-up motel near the highway - maybe a little nicer in all. The breakfast was great, and the pool area was nice. No complaints about the room - it was nice and clean, and we got a rollaway bed for $8/night. The breakfast was great. The catch: I had a question about my bill prior to check out - as expedia apparently got the tax figures wrong and I seemed to have been overcharged. When I approached the desk on the morning of my check-out to ask about the bill, the woman there appeared ready for an argument....when all I wanted was an explanation. I eventually got the explanation, but was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm pretty sure that she thought I was looking for a handout. Well, I wasn't - and its very unlikely that I will return to this hotel during my next visit to Salem. For what it's worth, the "exercise room" was pitiful - 3 pieces of equipment, and one didn't even work. The other two were both way over 20 years old. I got my cardio on the concrete by the pool instead. Breakfast was awesome though....gotta give em credit for that. Next time I'll pay $20/night more and avoid the headache, get a workout, and still get a good bowl of granola.

SoCalOregonian, Murrieta, California 19/07/2018

We stayed at this property on 07/13 in room 220. There was a short wait to check in, as only one clerk on duty, but was no longer than 5 minutes. Front desk clerk was very affable and helpful. This hotel is actually a rebadged motel as all rooms face the parking lot. No elevator available. The room was well appointed; with microwave, micro-reefer, TV, desk, iron/board, table and chair. The bathroom had a large shower. Room was very clean and in good repair. Breakfast is available in the morning with the typical BW fare. We took our food to the room to eat, as the dining area was full. I would recommend staying at this property if you are in the Salem area. Cost for one night with tax $160.65.

"Better than expected, friendly desk staff"

User 16/07/2018

Pros: Good location in Salem, continental breakfast decent. Cons: Parking was crowded and we had to park nowhere near our room. Booked a stay here and was pleasantly surprised. We travel to Oregon often and have had some bad experiences so I was thrilled this Best Western was decent, provided the price per night. Definitely no frills or extras other than breakfast but for $115 a night I can't complain. Bedding could be updated. The girl at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I can appreciate good desk staff as it seems hard to come by except when we are at 4-Star hotels or better. Will stay here again if we need to stay in Salem.

"Clean and room BUT......."

User 15/07/2018

Our room was clean, the bed comfortable. Pillows were very big and hard so not comfortable we could've dealt with that and we did deal with it. The worst thing about the whole thing is that it was mid 90s and our air conditioning did not work also the Wi-Fi did not work. When we checked out I said to the lady that the air conditioning in our room does not work nor does the Wi-Fi, her response was did you call the man? I said well we got in at 10 o'clock last night and she said well we should have called him he would've fixed it. In the first place we didn't know it wasn't working at 10 o'clock last night as it wasn't on then, it ran all night long but it never cooled the room. Their free breakfasts, and we've had many, was the worst we have ever had. The gravy was like wallpaper paste the sausages were like rubber and the eggs were a powdered mess. Would I recommend this place? If you're a traveler and you need to find a place to sleep at the last minute it's fine the room was clean the bed was good but if you're looking for any other amenities forget it.

"Was just okay"

NatlParkTraveler, Wash. State 14/07/2018

Well the room was clean. Lack of an elevator was inconvenient but livable. Room had AC but it was impossible to control past on or off. It was very loud and just had to leave it on all night but that made the room super cold. Shower was a walk-in type that was plenty large but a lack of a place to put your foot up made it hard to clean your feet, legs, and to shave legs. Fridge and microwave were appreciated. Breakfast was full and hot: pancakes, eggs, meat, fruits, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, cereal, pastries, juice, and maybe something I forgot. The sorest part of the room was the pillows. Beds were okay, but the pillows were hard and super high/poofy so it wrenched my family's necks to sleep on them. I asked if they had others, nope. I pounded the heck out of mine and was able to use it one night only. Front desk workers were all nice and welcoming.

"Very Satisfied "

Donna0854, Bradenton, Florida 06/07/2018

Me and my husband loved staying here. The room was very spacious and spotless. The front desk was friendly and informative. Best part staying here was the Continental Breakfast. We couldn't believe the selection of food. We would not hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone.

"Very comfortable stay. "

User 22/06/2018

The building has been well maintained, over our 1 night stay i saw staff out cleaning and maintaining the gardens outside and the housekeeping services were done very well. The front desk staff was very friendly and the hot breakfast provided was good. (finally something other than donuts and pastries) The beds were super comfortable and the huge walk in shower was a nice touch. It was a great stay and if i'm ever in the area again, this will be my first choice.

"Nice Clean Property"

highdesertbadger, Bend, Oregon 18/06/2018

My wife and I recently spent one night here while we were attending the grandson's HS Graduation. We happened to be there while Salem was experiencing a water purity issue. So we got bottled water for our stay. Other than that our stay was fine. We did not use the pool because of a time crunch and skipped the morning breakfast. The location is good and handy to I-5. I'd stay here again should the need to visit Salem arise.

"4.5 Stars for the Price: Very good experience"

ARLVAGUY, Arlington, VA 15/06/2018

This property is very close to an I-5 interchange and about 4 miles from the Capitol. It's relatively near shopping and restaurants. I'd thought the property would be noisier but the windows do a good job in blocking noise. Comfy bed and I'd have given the hotel 5 stars but all the pillows were way too over-stuffed. Clean, modern room and the WiFi worked fine. Horrible selection of TV channels. Nice breakfast. The workout room was very small but had a full-featured weight equipment stack in good shape. Friendly staff.

"Very pleasant and well-kept"

TRVLR1303, Charlotte, North Carolina 13/06/2018

The entire property is clean and well-kept. Our room had nice furniture, decor, and a beautifully tiled bathroom - none of those plastic tub surrounds here! The bed was good but the pillows were not. It's great to have lots of pillows but not if they're all the same kind. They need to provide a variety of pillows so each guest can find the kind they like.

"Clean room "

User 09/06/2018

This hotel is good located. The hotel is easy to get to the town close to the highway. If you want to go to dinner, it is the distance you can go to Kaizer . And It's a clean room, hot breakfast ,pool and hot tab !!! I slept well in a very quiet place in the night. ???????????????????????????????????? ??????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ????????????Kaiser ????????????????????????

"Great location"

NKB117, Madera, CA 03/06/2018

Friendly staff, dog friendly, easy off/on highway 5, less expensive in winter, increased when we returned in April. Will return again next winter. Pillows are large and hard. I bring my own pillow from now on.

"Another good experience"

Philip B, Alameda, United States 17/05/2018

"Best Western Portland Road"

User 07/05/2018

This is clean and quiet place with a responsive staff. Our advise is to come but bring your own pillows. The four per bed the room offers are hideously uncomfortable ... over stuffed with neck ache inducing, unyielding foam.

"Went to watch our Grandson play baseball for Corbin University. Motel was close to the ball field."

Judy B, Newport, Washington 04/05/2018

Staff was friendly, quiet rooms. Good breakfast. Does need larger breakfast area. We did have a odor in our room. Room was clean. Close to the freeway, convient to Keizer ball field. Nice big pool. Nice workout room.

"Comfortable and affordable place to stay"

Suzanne F, Snohomish, United States 27/04/2018

Clean room and premises, comfy bed, good Internet. We stayed here one night on our way home from vacation in California. The location was convenient, and the staff was helpful. I especially liked the stall shower since I have trouble with getting in and out of tubs. The receptionist was helpful in getting us a ground floor room (two stories, outside corridors, no elevator). We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was okay. I liked the pancake machine.

"Great Place to Stay"

DiHGoH, Nanaimo, Canada 24/04/2018

We had a bit of an issue regarding our attempted on-line reservation however Trina at the front desk was extremely patient, helpful, professional and friendly. The room was great as was the breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

"Beautiful Remodel and Great Staff"

Northwest-Traveler, Mountlake Terrace, WA 18/04/2018

When we first pulled in to the Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, I was disappointed to see that the rooms were accessible from outside (motel v. hotel style). In the past, every motel (with room doors accessible from the outside) that I have stayed in has left something to be desired. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my overall experience. The front desk staff (especially Alex) were friendly and professional. When Alex overheard me talking about the eggs being a little cool, she took it upon herself to ask me about it and heat them up to make sure other guests had the right temperature eggs. The breakfast was above average. Instead of a waffle machine, they had a pancake machine which was fun to watch work. There were also various donuts, bagels, cream cheese, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cold cereal and fruit. I think there was also yogurt. The entire place is undergoing remodeling, but it looks like it is nearly completed. Our room was beautiful, as was all of the other remodeled areas. We took advantage of the swimming pool. The water was the perfect temperature and it was clean. The hot tub was bigger than most that you find at hotels. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Pacific Highway Inn.

"Pacific Highway Inn Review"

777darrell, North Bend 02/04/2018

Excellent hotel. One of the best I've stayed at. Room was clean, soap and shampoo were great, coffee was very good and easy to use, breakfast was very good, and the staff were great. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.

"great place to stay"

saday1004, Torrance, California 31/03/2018

The rooms were clean and quite. We had 2 rooms with a door connecting both. House keeping came in everyday to clean and make the beds and clean towels. We had trouble with the tub drain plug. But house keeping called the maintenance people to replace it with a better one. Over all this Best Western is great. We will stay here again when in Salem. The front deck staff answered all my questions and were very helpful. The breakfast was great. They had a pancake maker that was different than the usual waffle maker other hotels have. Pretty cool.

"Fine hotel, terrible WI-Fi"

lynntorno, Bellingham, Washington 26/03/2018

Room was updated and clean, the bed was firm, and the hotel quiet. I'd give it at least a 4 star if it weren't for the awful Wi-Fi system they use. It was frustrating to log on to, slow, and appeared to be an unsecured network. They had you go through a step of logging on to the hotel website where you enter a password, but it seemed likely that you lose whatever protection you gain by that step once you leave the hotel website.

"Clean and comforable."

Sherry S, Seattle, Washington 14/03/2018

Clean and comfort about says it all! Staff was great and so was the breakfast. Not much in the area for dining but we made do. Local law enforcement had a group there so we felt very safe. :) Would stay there again.

"Last minute booking "

juanita_v, Woodland, California 05/02/2018

We broke down nearby and booked the Best Western because we had stayed here before (and it was across the street from the Original Pancake House, yum, yum). Checking in was easy. Our room on the first floor has a roomy walk-in shower in a rather small bathroom. I really liked the tile in the shower. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, but after turning in for the night the room got too warm. We turned on the A/C fan, which also drowned out the noise of people above us and allowed us to fall back to sleep.

"Excellent value"

77maple123, Vancouver, Canada 11/01/2018

Well run best western. Clean with excellent update to bathroom now a big shower that is just like brand new. Breakfast adeqquit but to many tables in space making it very awkward to get around. In nice weather you can sit outside. Very nice fresh fruit

"Great value and good nights rest"

davebL2516LG, seattle, United States 08/01/2018

On a long journey north to Seattle we were greeted kindly and had a very restful and comfortable nights sleep before getting back on the road the next morning. The check out staff was equally kind and the breakfast had a variety of selections.

"BED BUGS!!!!!"

User 04/01/2018

I am a Gold Elite Best Western customer, that means I am normally a BW fan and stay there a lot. This was the worst BW i have ever experienced. I am very sad. The smell of the room was horrible. The carpet was not clean, all surfaces were dirty and sticky. During the night I was bitten multiple times by bed bugs. This is a terrible hotel. Never stay in this hotel!!!

Jake B, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your review of our hotel. I'm very sorry to hear that the room was not cleaned well. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our rooms, and I apologize that we failed with you. Regarding the report of bed bugs, we had the room inspected after you checked out, and no bugs were found. All Best Western staff is trained on how to inspect rooms for bed bugs, and every room is checked daily for them. I wanted to make sure that you are aware that bites can sometimes take over a week to show, so I encourage you to check with all public areas that you have been in during the last week (hotels, movie theaters, cabs are just some of the areas that they can be found). Thank you, Jake Bryant Manager

Our choice for 20 years while visiting family in Salem - location is 5 minutes from their home, next to the freeway and always comfortable! The recent updates have made it very nice and we will miss out visits to Salem now that our dad is no longer living.

We enjoy BW Pacific Highway! The kids love the pool, the beds are comfy, the remodeled rooms are very nice, the breakfast yummy and it's close to coffee and restaraunts. We have stayed three years in a row and like it.

"Always Great"

27joanns, Grants Pass, Oregon 11/12/2017

We participate in the Salem Saturday Market Holiday Fair at the Oregon State Fairgrounds every year. Once we discovered this Best Western it has been our "go to" place to stay. It is Pet Friendly and centrally located to everything.

"Wonder Place after Remodel"

RueterRD, Everett, Washington 07/12/2017

We stayed here as it was close to an RV dealer that we purchased a RV from as we had to pickup the rv the next day. Very nice room, clean, quite and comfortable. The staff was great and gave us good info on places in the area to eat. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. We will be staying here again when in the Salem area.

"Great remodel, good stay!"

User 30/11/2017

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into our pet-friendly room to see that it had been beautifully remodeled (we'd stayed here before). No more bathtub but instead a gorgeous tiled shower. The bathroom area is much bigger than we remembered. The beds are comfortable and we slept well. We always bring our earplugs when traveling and are glad we did as the people upstairs must have been dancing some hip hop or something - mostly in the evening and morning. It would be nice if, during the remodel, they had put down some sound barriers in the flooring. The only other downside was the carpet - it was wet and kind of sticky, so we had to wear our shoes the whole time we were there. As I said, it's a pet-friendly room, so I'm sure they have to clean it often, but it was pretty unnerving. The rest of the room/bathroom were very clean. All that said, the breakfast was adequate, the fitness center was great and we were close to our relatives, so all-in-all it was a good stay.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We set high cleanliness standards at our property, and I'm sorry to hear that we didn't meet these standards in your room. I will discuss your experience with our cleaning staff, and we will work to make sure this doesn't happen with future guests. "Worst staff Ever!"

carly m, Modesto, California 26/11/2017

Very small hotel with staff that's incapable of there job. I asked for a late check out of 1:00 since I'm a Diamond elite member and that's wat it shud b for me. Was turned down said only 12:30 check out. They charged my card a whole extra night after I had checked out! I couldn't believe it! I had to call my bank and file a claim to get the money back the same day. I was not offered bonus points or a goodie bag a check in. Girl at front desk was very rude and unhelpful. No mangers on site to properly train staff. Independently owned be aware they treat people how they want!!

"Two night stay"

Pat C, Jefferson, Oregon 25/11/2017

Booked direct by calling. *The company site still has timing out issues & we want the points with frequent stays we've had. Little surprised was more like a motel - no rooms within by reception. King bed rate was great & conveniently located to I5. Breakfast was very good!

"Only 5 King Bed Rooms"

longball44, Redmond, Oregon 21/11/2017

Room #114 was kind of 'old hotel smell' stinky when we first entered the room. It got better as we walked towards the back. Semi upgraded bathroom with the sink on the outside. No bowed shower curtain as the bathroom was too narrow for one. Good newer toilet with plenty of towels and the other amenities. The shower was a good one with plenty of water pressure and a nice shower head. Decent in room coffee, the beds were firm but comfy. There are only 5 rooms here with king beds so if you absolutely need one you'd better reserve in advance. $94 weekdays, it goes up $10 on weekends. Nice helpful staff, the only ice machine is in the lobby and the check in lady had to show me the trick to making it drop ice. Clean TV remote with plenty of Direct TV channels. The Internet was fast enough.

"Not bad"

Kevin B, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 10/11/2017

Clean, cheap, and a nice staff! The workout room is bad but they have a pool. Breakfast is ok but there are options close by if you feel like an upgrade. Easy location. No complaints. The wi-if works well.

User 07/11/2017

Dirt and rude The Oder in the room was so bad the door was propped open then they called because we were loud. at 930 pm When we went to breakfast it was all packaged carbs. Had to go out for breakfast which is one of the reasons I pick a hotel with breakfast included.

"Nice Hotel"

jimcZ2109JE, Goldendale, United States 31/10/2017

Nice quiet place, however the in-room coffee was rather terrible. All else was fine, excellent breakfast. Good help from staff. we weer visiting family in the area and this hotel was 5 minutes away, made visiting so easy.

"Great Stay, Very Nice"

216joshj, Astoria, Oregon 23/10/2017

I thought that the room was very well taken care of. It was during the off season, but did offer a very nice rate for the room. The front office staff was pleasant and the hotel was fairly quiet. I would recommend the stay at this hotel.

Cancelled our booking in April for reservation in August, 2017. Charge still showed up on our credit card. Numerous emails to hotel with no result. Contact main Best Western office and they advised they would forward our concern to hotel. Still haven't heard anything.

"Decent night's sleep"

LarryM708, Roseville, California 11/10/2017

We were worried. There were a number (15 or so) of young people in our two-story wing (no interior hallways, all rooms open to the great outdoors). We were certain we were in for a loud night (it was, after all Friday night). Not a peep!! Turns out they were on a visiting university track team, needed their rest, and left for their (rained-on) meet before we were even up and stirring. Oh, the accommodations? Just fine. We like to use the fan all night (something about my proclivity for snoring), and there was no HVAC controls to allow us to do that. Otherwise, just fine. Breakfast in the AM was what you'd expect in a BW property, but the breakfast nook is really small.

"Poorly Maintained Property"

Jim V, Upland, California 09/10/2017

The Best Western Pacific Highway Inn is reasonable priced and well equipped with all the amenities you will need for an overnight stay. Problem is those amenities are not all in working order. Our satellite television had no signal. The front desk said there was nobody available to troubleshoot the problem and we could come down to the lobby if we wanted to watch tv. The room was warm, stuffy, and had the classic "motel smell". We tried to turn on the AC to circulate the air, but the AC unit was not working. The next morning, while eating breakfast in the lobby, we overheard other customers complaining to the front desk about plumbing problems. Our overall impression was that the hotel is poorly maintained.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. "So glad we found this hotel!"

luckylakegirl, Sacramento, California 29/09/2017

We did a quick trip up to Washington and on the way we stayed at a hotel that was less than desirable. On the way back we stopped at this Best Western (which was cheaper than the hotel we stayed at on the way up) and it was WONDERFUL! Have added this into our notes as where we will stay on future trips up to Washington! The rooms were nice and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices for those picky eaters, or those looking for something other than bad coffee and a pastry. The staff was very nice, they were quick to get us checked in and very helpful and quick when we checked out. I highly recommend this hotel to any type of traveler!

The Pacific Hwy. Inn Best Western Motel is a great place to stay in Salem. They have an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. They are very close to the I-5 freeway interchange. It is just minutes to the Capitol, Chemeketa College and of course, shopping on Lancaster, Great food spots close to the motel as well, so an all around good deal.

The room was ok upon entering. Heater and internet were not working. During the night I was biten multiple times by bed bugs. Front desk said "Oh, that shouldn't have happened". They did nothing else.

Jake B, Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of our front desk staff. All Best Western employees are carefully trained in the inspection of rooms for bed bugs. The goal of the training is to make sure that, if the bugs were brought into a room, our housekeepers would find them and we would have them exterminated before the room was rented to future guests. After you notified us of the bites, we carefully inspected your room, and there was no sign of infestation. I wanted to make sure that you are aware that, after being exposed to bed bugs, the bites can take up to a week to show on you. I strongly recommend that you contact any other public locations you visited in the week before you stayed with us (other hotels, theaters, rental cars, etc), and have them perform inspections as well. Please know that all Best Western properties take this matter very seriously, and we are very proactive in making sure that our guests are not exposed to bed bugs. Jake Bryant Manager

"Great place. Quiet which was surprising."

Shosty R, Depoe Bay, Oregon 15/09/2017

Great motel/hotel. Recently remodeled. Comfortable. Great staff. Felt safe. Only complaint is that the AC Didnt have a remote to adjust the air and it was above the mirror in the bathroom. However, would definitely return.

"Good location off of I-5"

DavenportPete, Davenport 09/09/2017

This is an older Best Western but well maintained. We originally requested a ground floor as no elevator when reservations were made. We were given 2nd floor because the had already given out the 1st floor king. We then asked if anything available on first floor and were given the handicap room. Bed was good, breakfast had great variety and staff very friendly. Does have a laundry.

"Excelent stay for the price"

User 06/09/2017

Wife, dogs & I stayed here for the Oregon state fair, Facility was clean, employees were friendly. Had a small potty area for the dogs. Close to Store / gas station / mcdonalds/ Subway/ Pancake house..Breakfast was standard fair but good..Will be staying here again next year.

"Terrible service & cleanliness"

jnwiebe, Vancouver, Canada 01/09/2017

This is a TERRIBLE hotel. We arrived only to find bugs in our bed. After showing the staff the bug, they re-located us to a different room. In this room, the counters were not wiped (covered in sticky juice), there was hairs all over the sheets, and we found MORE bugs on the bed, and underneath the mattress. Upon further observation of the room, we found dead beetles in the corner behind the door, along with cobwebs. This place felt very unsanitary. We asked for a refund, and the manager said she would contact the owner to discuss our request. Instead of following through with this plan, our card was charged and no contact was made. I have contacted the hotel multiple times and left various messages with STILL no response. While requesting a call back from the manager, I was told that were "no guarantees" of her calling me back since "there's a lot to do around the hotel". Customer satisfaction SHOULD be a hotel's #1 priority, and this hotel fails to deliver adequate service in ALL areas. Stay away.

"College Tour of NW"

User 30/08/2017

Nice property, clean spacious room, easy check in. Room access to the pool (didn't use though). Restaurant on site, but no free breakfast. Right next to the river, nice ambiance for dinner with outside seating.

"Quiet and comfortable room"

CWSJ, Santa Clara, California 26/08/2017

When we arrived, we got a room facing the street. I was a bit concerned that the room would be noisy from the traffic, but it wasn't. Breakfast was good, staff were pleasant and the room was comfortable and clean.

"It was ok"

coates3, Livermore, California 25/08/2017

I stayed here one night. They put me into an ADA accessible room, which explains a giant shower stall in place of the usual tub shower. The motel uses dispensers for toiletries rather than the usual individual packages. I prefer the individual packages. The motel was worn and tired and is in need of a refresh. But the room was clean, and I got a good night's sleep. I am not sure that I would stay here again,.

"Clean, motel-style"

Shelly S, Steilacoom, Washington 24/08/2017

We were happy to find a room Friday of 'eclipse weekend' in Salem, and around $100! The woman who checked us in was friendly. The grounds and our room were very clean and well maintained. It appears to be an older property that has been renovated. It is a motel, outdoor room access and walkways, park in front of your room (if you're lucky). It's two-story and doesn't appear to have an elevator. I was concerned about road noise, but it wasn't bad (we were in the second unit from the end right off the road) especially after we closed the bathroom window! :) We didn't have the breakfast. It appeared to be the standard continental fare of pastries, bread, cereal, drinks, and they did have a pancake making machine.

"Older A/C unit we couldn't control"

travelers_from_utah, Salt Lake City 24/08/2017

The A/C unit was mounted near the ceiling and the temp control couldn't be reached without a small ladder. Just an On/Off switch. Halfway thru the night, it shut off and never turned back on and we couldn't do anything about it. Told the front desk when we left, but she wasn't very appreciative of our feedback.

"Unfriendly and unhelpful front desk."

Enthusiast_11, Waikoloa, Hawaii 19/08/2017

We arrived early for our reservation (made as a Best Western Rewards member) to ask about early check-in. The desk person was firm in sticking to the official 4:00 check-in time and had zero interest in trying to accommodate us. We checked around nearby communities, found a nicer BW and got easily checked in couple of hours before 4 PM and canceled our reservation at the Pacific Hwy.

"Great overall experience."

User 17/08/2017

Great overall experience. One of the best for low ranged prices. Travelled with the family of four. Very welcoming stuff, nice gym – not modern equipment but perfect to exercise after long drive. Breakfast is very nice. Perfect for road trips. Will definitely stay at BW in the future.

"Always enjoy our stay"

Cathy/Ken L, Payette, United States 14/08/2017

Usually the front desk gets the reviews but I am going to brag about the housekeeping and maintenance. Our air conditioner didn't seem to be working well so my husband go a hold of the maintenance man. He came right over to see what he could do to help. He did a great job. Housekeeping is the best at keeping the rooms clean and neat! Thank you

"On the way to California"

Pickytraveler099, Washington 04/08/2017

It was a great place! Clean and great price! It wasn't too noisy, easy to find, the service was wonderful, and so glad we found it at the last minute. It was nice that BW kept their price reasonable even for those who reserve it on the day of arrival. Recommend it for sure!!

"Great price. Clean room"

Melinda C, WA, United States 02/08/2017

Newly remodeled and convenient to Salem. Rooms are comfortable and price is great. Note-Parking lot gets quite full, so it can be tough to park anywhere close to room. Overall, a decent stay and worth the price.

"Great Place to Stay"

joanl121, Saint Cloud, Minnesota 30/07/2017

I stay at the Best Western for one night prior to departing for the airport. I found the facility to be an excellent value for the money. The hotel was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was very good and provided a number of options. Staff provided excellent service. The location is good as it is close to the interstate if a person is heading north or south.

"Good value for the money"

Eugene L, Vancouver, Canada 29/07/2017

Central location, great place to stay. We were taking a road trip down the coast and this was a great place to stay over for the night. Check in and check out was easy. Breakfast was included. Staff was friendly and helpful. WIFI worked well. Hotel was quiet.

"Very nice!!"

raysfan2, Largo, Florida 23/07/2017

Tastefully updated rooms and lobby. Great shower with rainfall heads. Good breakfast. Large 42" TV, refrigerator, microwave. Reasonably priced just off I-5. Helpful friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again!

"Best Western always a good choice"

kelly15_12, Vacaville, California 20/07/2017

Needed a place for the weekend, for all family members, attending a funeral. Staff was very helpful to our needs. Quite a few choices in Salem but I believe we choose well. Perfect location, right off I-5. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful with all questions or requests. Rooms and lobby are clean and tidy. Pool / spa were a nice treat after the long drive from CA. Breakfast in lobby was very good, good selection, and staff kept very busy refilling. Thank you for a nice stay.

"A very nice"

dawgman4449, Milton Freewater, Oregon 19/07/2017

Easy access off I-5. Rooms are nice. Beds are comfortable. Shower is large and updated. Nice pool and spa. Nice work out room. Staff has been very friendly and accomodating. I would recommend staying here.

"Kust OK"

Dmantell, Springfield, Oregon 17/07/2017

Location of hotel is good with nearby shopping and freeway access. Office staff is friendly and rooms are clean. However rooms are very dated and feel like a supper 8 or worse. Ac unit was very load and unable to sleep when running.

"Great, Clean, Well-lighted Hotel"

User 17/07/2017

Located on the NW side of Salem, the hotel was right off I-5 and was a perfect and quiet place to stop for the night before continuing on to B.C., Canada. We had our dog with us and BW's accommodation for the dog/us was perfect. A downstair's room with a small lawn closeby. Best of all, the room showed zero signs of previous, messy dogs. It was in top condition. Thank you, BW!

"Hotel was nice, nothing special."

odellnap, valleyview, alberta 17/07/2017

Nice enough hotel, breakfast was good, but nothing special. Staff on check in were fantastic, but check out was a different story. She was borderline annoyed that I interrupted her conversation so I could checkout. She was completely unhelpful and quite rude. Tainted an otherwise nice stay.

"Very satisfying stay"

N8772JKpetero, Fort Bragg, CA, United States 11/07/2017

Hotel was very clean and comfortable, pool and hot tub were very good, hotel staff were friendly and helpful. This BW was also a bit cheaper than some others resulting in very good value. We would definitely stay here again.

"Nice BW Hotel in Salem"

201hildac, San Jose, California 10/07/2017

Nice hotel staff. Rates are reasonable.Breakfast doesn't have plenty of choices but is good with that price. Rooms are spacious. Close to down town with lots of restaurants. Nice location. Bed are comfortable.

"Impolite Front Desk"

652sherid, Montgomery, United States 10/07/2017

There were large black ants in the room from the first night through the entire stay. I spoke with the front desk daily about it, they were very rude & never even said they were sorry for the inconvenience.

"Great hotel for people traveling with dogs"

Jazz-Molly, San Jose, California 09/07/2017

The rooms have enough space for two large dog beds, the dog area is nicer than other hotels we have stayed at. Easy access on/off the freeway at the North end of Salem. Breakfast had more choices than other Best Westerns we stayed at on this road trip.

"Got my money's worth"

User 08/07/2017

It was a good place to sleep for the night and refresh. The breakfast was lacking, but free so I can't complain too much. The pool was nice and we all enjoyed the hot tub. There was some dirt on the wall in the shower that should have been cleaned after the last guests. The sheets appeared clean and the bed was comfortable.

"Nice motel"

User 06/07/2017

This is a nice motel to rest up at. The rooms are clean, service is promt and the breakfast is what you would expect. The rooms dont let a lot if unwanted noise disturb your stay. Just minutes from.down town Salem, Easy access to I-5. Coffee shops and fast food is within walking distance.

"Salem bestwestern"

93brentn, Bend, Oregon 03/07/2017

It was ok but not worth the price. The hotels looks like it is just a remodeled motel. The rooms are dark and not a lot of ventilation. If you do stay there make sure you park your vehicle early because it does get pretty packed at night.

"Updated, affordable"

Scoobpate, Walnut Creek 01/07/2017

Had an excellent stay. Hotel has been recently updated, including indoor pool and spa. Good breakfast, pleasant staff, and clean room, made this an affordable best choice for Salem. Decent surrounding neighborhood, with main drag a couple of blocks over. Everything you need within blocks, including high end grocery for healthy take-out.

"Acceptable for one night stopover, under constructio"

USN_Seabee_Wife, Washington 01/07/2017

This hotel is under construction! They had stopped for the weekend but it is still dated and in need of upgrades. The bathroom needed new clean grout and some tiles to be replaced. There was chipping paint and rusty door hinges. The bathroom mirror was very low due to the heating and air conditioning unit installed above it. I'm 5' 9" and I had to duck down to do my hair. We had a king bed room that was was a good size. However, bring your own pillows if you don't like them really thick. All in all, okay for one night quick stopover but don't have high expectations.

"B W Salem Rocks"

User 28/06/2017

GREAT HOTEL AND STAFF. Breakfast was a good quality and had several items with juices and coffee. Pool was open from 5a m till midnight. Laundry room was very clean and the machines were good. Staff were always cleaning things, windows, floors, dining area, ETC. Friendly service.

User 27/06/2017

Nice place. Clean. Comfortable. Happy to be able to park right by room. Friendly and quick desk person. Funky night light in room that we couldn't turn off and it reflected in the mirror right to the pillows. Lots of room. Small table was helpful.

"Oldie but a goodie"

151freddyr, Portland, Oregon 25/06/2017

Had a great stay here , this is a older property but I was a impressed with the cleanliness and very comfortable room . It's right off the main highway but far enough where it's very quiet. Friendly staff , I will definitely stay again

"Great place to stay!!!"

Kent S, Cotage Grove Or, United States 24/06/2017

Staff was very helpful. Room clean. Small dog very welcome. Who could ask for any thing more? Walking distance to interesting restaurants. It's nice to walk to a restaurant after driving all day. Very comfortable.

"Nice Property, Good Price"

fancypawz, Henrico, Virginia 20/06/2017

Older property being renovated/updated. Coming along nicely. Pillows too firm for sleeping, but otherwise room was quite nice. Not as much green space for dog walking as I like, but for 1 night, we made do. Breakfast selection not as extensive as some other BW properties, but again, for 1 night it's fine. Even though it's on a main road, the property itself was quiet, and well lit at night. Staff were pleasant, we had no problems, and the price was right.

"Stay at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, Salem Oregon"

K3164DJbarbaraf, Poway, United States 19/06/2017

Our stay was excellent, staff was helpful and attentive, the room was good. We will stay here again. It compares well with other hotels in which we've stayed and it was a very good value for the expense.

"not to friendly or helpful"

andreaaT6688PP, Portland, United States 13/06/2017

We had a few issues with the motel and staff. The General Manager didn't really care to make it right with us nor did the front office staff. We may never stay at a BW again if this is the way BW treats people.

"Quick trip"

dansD6147RX, Grants Pass, Oregon 11/06/2017

I usaly stay at another motel in Salem, but due to someone staying at the other motel that I would rather not run into I stayed here. Best thing that happened, this is much nicer place, and easer too get to. Will stay here from now on.

"Nothing to complain about"

MMakosch, Langenfeld, Germany 07/06/2017

I would rate my stay as "good" rather than "very good", but actually there was nothing to complain about. My room was clean and well maintained. Check-In/-Out easy; conventiently located directly at the Interstate 5; I can recommend the BW to everyone.

"Convenient location with very good quality service"

Sharon T, Mendota Heights, Minnesota 06/06/2017

We chose this hotel on the Internet and were very pleased with our choice. The grounds and rooms were very well maintained. The breakfast area was quite large . While they offered the typical breakfast fare, there was a pancake machine, fresh fruit, and pastry. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I would have no problem returning here on a future stop in the area.

"Clean and a good price"

angiel956, Imbler 01/06/2017

I've stayed at the Best Western Pacific Highway Inn on three different occasions while in Salem for training. I have been happy on all three occasions. The rooms are clean and at a good price. I plan to stay there again when in town next year. The training I attended was at Chemeketa Community College. The hotel is a short five minute drive from campus.

cathyg298, Central Point, Oregon 30/05/2017

Loved everything about the BW. So Nice employees. So Clean. Always There To Help. Delicious Pancakes! THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT next. Door Soooo GOOD!!! DUTCH BRO'S AND SUBWAY ALSO NEXT DOOR!!! And very close to many restaurants.

"Excellent customer service"

Pot C, Canada 29/05/2017

We had a great stay for two nights with our doggie. It is a nice inn for a pet friendly hotel which included an area for dogs. Laurie (front desk agent) was absolutely amMmaaaZing!! She was friendly, courteous and provided exceptional customer service! She recommended places for dining, shopping and hiking trails. We loved her! She made our stay so much more better! Thank you Laurie for everything you do for your guests!

"My preferred place to stay in Salem, OR"

jodyr703, North Bend, Oregon 29/05/2017

The staff is excellent. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The shower, toilet area is a bit small. The pool area is clean. We stayed last year before the remodel and where as happy as we were this year.

"Quality Service at BW"

williamdY9809PH, San Francisco, United States 29/05/2017

Friendly service with knowledgeable staff ready to answer questions about surrounding area. Quiet and restful night after long drive. Not use to conventional beds, but the hotel's bed was surprisingly comfortable. Loved that the window opened so we could have fresh air all night. Also got a refreshing swim in the lap pool. Very clean and inviting.

"Good value when you need one"

User 25/05/2017

Place was clean and well-maintained. Glad to find something that was close to the northern end of Salem as usually at the south. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room itself was fine except the covers on the beds were not enough and there's no extra blankets or anything in the room. Got pretty cold one night.

"Refurbished motor inn-good value"

cda62vette, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho 24/05/2017

This place filled our needs perfectly. We were pulling a 40+ size motor home and needed room to turn around. Price was reasonable for the area. Our dog appreciated the nice dog area outside our room. The dog room had a bit of a smell but we left our door open since it was a nice quiet place. What do you want from a dog room? Breakfast was adequate. I would stay there again.

"Nice place to stay"

Kevin C, Sisters, Oregon 22/05/2017

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. The room was recently remodeled with new carpet, paint, etc. It was very comfortable. I would have given it 5 stars, however, we were disappointed that after 3 requests to have someone take care of the slow drain in the sink, nothing ever happened. Not sure what happened there. The breakfast was fine with biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, etc. We would definitely return.

"Dated. Clean, Close to Freeway, in a residential district."

Steve4U, Sandpoint, Idaho 22/05/2017

Paid $90 and change for this old road warrior stopover. Huge parking lot. Outside entrance; park in front of your room. 50's look in my room. Ugly decor and very dark inside. Depressing. Tiny fridge--3" freezer. Firm bed. Hard pillows. Super 8's would have outranked this room. Staff was very helpful in directions. The owners seem to have given up upgrading the room's appearance.

"A reasonable place to stay."

robertjV8777LT, Bend, United States 15/05/2017

The room I was in had just been redone, so everything was nice and new. I'm not sure if they have completed re-doing all of the rooms, but the one I was in was quite nice, and the hotel was located close to my destination.

"A nice little hotel ,centrally located."

wdlander, Post Falls, Idaho 07/05/2017

Not far from downtown Salem, this hotel is a good jumping off place to local wine country, the outlet malls in Woodburn, the SilverCreek falls area. The Hotel is clean, comfortable and well staffed with people who want you to have a great stay.

"Business and family"

missybelyea, Hermiston 20/04/2017

When I travel to the Willamette valley for work I bring my 1.5 year old daughter for her grandparents to get to see. This trip we had checked out of the Albany Best Western Prairie Inn for another business venture in Salem. My daughter was getting tired of the car. We tried to go to a park but the wet spring weather left everything wet and muddy. We went and visited family members but couldn't visit long because of their health. Nicole at the front desk and the housekeeping staff at the Salem Best Western Pacific Hwy Inn worked their tails off to help us get in as soon as they could while still being super nice and super understanding. Thank you guys so much!

Nicole R, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your stay was. We are pleased we could check you and your daughter in early, and give her some play space. The staff all work hard to meet guest needs. Again we would like to thank you for being part of our Best Western family, and hope to see you again.

"Your typical motel"

Yvonne S, Seattle, Washington 13/04/2017

I stayed here during a work convention April 10th and 11th and had such a hard time at the beginning due to a third party booking the rooms rather their direst site, however the gal at the front desk was VERY accommodating and sweet so I couldn't stay mad. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Granted the only things I used there since I was working 14 hour days were the bathroom, shower and bed - I did sleep like a baby. Breakfast was from 6am-10am and since I was out the door earlier than when it started, they offered me bags of to-go fruit, water and granola bars since I couldn't make it either morning. That was a HUGE thing in my book, guests who wouldn't be able to eat due to it not opening sooner they still gave us goody-bags. I would stay here again, the only negative was it's a little further away from the Salem Convention Center than I'd like. But all in all, no complaints.

Nicole R, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the review of your stay with us here at Best Western Pacific Hwy Inn. We are always trying to make improvements, and happy to hear that you like the changes made to breakfast. We are currently upgrading and welcome any feedback to help us in this process. Again thank you for taking the time to review our property.

"Need some work"

K6914MSbrianh, Sidney, United States 10/04/2017

My overall experience was great. They do need to fix constantly running toilet and there was a large gap under door. The room otherwise was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to others in the future.

Nicole R, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your response. We are currently under construction, and one of the items being installed are new doors. The bathrooms are being completely remodeled as well. We hope that you will come stay with us again and see some of the improvements being made. As always we thank you for your feedback!

"Way too noisy to sleep in #201"

Rick T, Nanaimo, Canada 09/04/2017

Title says it all. We arrived at 4:45 and there were plenty of quiet rooms available but were given the worst room in the house. This was our third day of driving 10 hours per day and were way to tired to move when the noise got to us at 2 AM.

"Great place!"

lorigH3618NG, Grand Junction, Colorado 07/04/2017

Go out of their way to ensure guests are comfortable! Rooms were clean. Every staff I spoke to was respectful and very nice. Beds were a bit uncomfortable, but all the extra pillows made up for it! Will stay there again!

Nicole R, General Manager at Best Western Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your feedback, it is very important to us. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to seeing you again.

"One night"

herberts984, Ridgefield, Washington 05/04/2017

Good place to stay, close to freeway without the noise. Only problem we had was the new carpet. Fumes made my nose run until I took some medication. We were on the first floor and it was quiet for sleeping.

"Love the way Mandy was.hotel was clean, breakfast need to have more variety. But was ok"

Zorayda A, Kirkland, Washington 27/03/2017

Service was great, was clean, we will be back again . Mandy was very friendly and she suggest to be a member and the benefits we will have every time with stay in any BW hotels . Thank you Mandy . We were happy

User 23/11/2016

We were very pleased with our 2 night stay. Our room was very welcoming and clean. The staff we interacted with were all professional and kind. The breakfast area is a little on the small size but we managed just fine. We will stay here again.

"A nice place to stay"

Scenik1, San Diego, California 01/11/2016

We have found this to be a nice place to stay. We often drive up California to the Oregon Coast, and the way we divide up the trip gives us just a couple of hours driving on the last day which suits us. Staying in Salem is so easy, and this is a good hotel. You're outside of the big city, with easy on and off access to the highway. We found it nice and quiet. There is a great indoor pool and large jacuzzi that we took full advantage of. A few laps and a nice soak makes for a good night's sleep. The included breakfast is a good one. Not outstanding, but perfectly fine with plenty of choices of hot and cold food. No microwaves in our room, no matter what the AAA guide tells you.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your response. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Each room does come equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot which are located in the entertainment center. The pool and hot tub are always favorites, especially the over sized hot tub. Again thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay, and we hope to see you again.

"good place to stay for the price"

Jared D, Pendleton, United States 17/10/2016

Quality of rooms were just OK. Out dated decor and room doors were difficult to get into. Breakfast was pretty good but nothing special. The eggs and sausage were pretty rubber. For what we were here for the hotel worked out ok since we were only there to sleep in the evening.

"Good Hotel for the price"

JO_8500, So Cal 12/10/2016

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was clean and adequate. The breakfast was so so but you shouldn't expect much at this price point. There is a little bit of road noise so request a quiet location of possible. This is a good choice if you are passing through Salem and need good access to the I-5.

"Excellent Choice."

shop99er, Tacoma, Washington 08/10/2016

We're on the last leg of a two-week road trip. We had really figured on spending our final night on the road in Eugene. That plan ended when we learned that the Oregon Ducks had a home game today. When that happens, you can't get a hotel room from the California state line to Corvallis. So, I booked a room here, in the first hotel north of CA with rooms. And it turned out to be a great choice. Virginia, the desk clerk, could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had a lovely chat while I was getting us checked in. When I went back outside to park the truck, I realized that I was gonna have to park as far away as possible and still stay on the property. The place is packed. Well, I didn't wanna walk that far with our stuff. So I went back in, told Virginia about my "problem:, and wham-bam! I had a different room that I could actually park in front of. The room itself (221) is very nice. Spotlessly clean and everything works. The chairs by the table could be more comfortable, but that's a fairly minor issue. The vanity area of the bathroom is huge! My wife was tickled silly. Dunno what the last reviewer's problem was, but I can guess. My sister's the same way. Should we happen to stay in Salem again, this will be my first choice.

Thank you for your review of our property and staff. We are glad we were able to take care of all your needs and you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again in the future.

"Unprofessional Hotel Staff - Unreliable Booking Process - Lots of Unnecessary Static"

1BVISailor, Conroe, Texas 04/10/2016

Booked on hours before arriving. Upon arrival was greeted (if that is what you'd like to call it) by Virginia. She said you're not here to check in because I have no reservations available and you are not in my system. On top of that she said I turned off the on line booking system hours ago so there is no way you have a reservation. Well yes I do have a reservation. WITH WHO? I am looking at my EXPANDED system and you are not in it! Where is your confirmation? After going out to my email to get a confirmation number, and returning with a booking confirmation, she suddenly announced she had found my reservation. Instead of apologizing for telling me I had no reservation, she then proceeded to tell me although she did find my reservation, but it was not legitimate, but it didn't matter anyway because she had no rooms. She interrupted every time I attempted to ask a question - this is an incredibly rude and unprofessional. HOLD YOUR TOUNGE FOR PETE'S SAKE - this is not a rodeo! Save that for your husband and kids. You are a customer service professional. You provide overnight accommodations for people attending an out of town funeral, or visiting their sister, or traveling after a long day of business. These people are displaced from their homes and in need of a reliable, clean, safe and comfortable place to stay. They expect and depend upon a smile and an accommodating tone in your voice. If a problem comes up, you don't raise a battle flag, you make problems go away. When I asked Virginia if she could possibly just smile and let me finish a question without interruption, she interrupted to tell me now nice she was already being. When I asked if we could skip the problem highlighting phase and simply move forward to the point where she finds us another room at the same price, Virginia arrogantly insisted she had been working this job for over two weeks and she knew what to do. She called the owner and told her twice she had a very disgruntled customer (twice Virginia? really? NOT! I would just like the two rooms I booked). The owner told her to simply take care of it. Right. Unbelievably stupid to put someone like this in a role like front desk clerk. In 30- years of owning and managing hotels, I have never seen attitude more wrong minded. Virginia obviously has no customer relations skills whatsoever. Maybe a role in the operations or housekeeping department might suit her better. Bought her entire staff a negative review. Ruined any chance of a pleasant night or stay at the facility, (OR A RETURN VISIT). Who cares about the location, price or quality of the accommodation when the front desk clerk is such a witch? On a bright note we were finally referred to a sister property a few miles away. When we arrived we were treated very well by the very professional staff there, (that evening and the next morning) who made us feel welcome. Thanks!

"An affordable, comfortable hotel, even for vegans"

slewis432016, Davis, California 03/10/2016

We stayed in the Best Wester Pacific Highway Inn in Salem for only one night in September 2016. It had everything we needed, including a reasonable price, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We particularly appreciated the vegan options for breakfast. It was the first time my husband was offered non-dairy milk for his cereal at a hotel!

"Quiet comfort in Salem"

Kathy G, Bellevue, WA, United States 28/09/2016

Stayed two nights at the Pacific Highway Inn on a busy weekend when they were full. We came in late on Friday and check in was quick so we could get to our room and to sleep. Breakfast was good and the bed, bathroom, parking, etc. all was fine. Didn't spend a lot of time in the room but it provided just what we wanted, a clean, quiet, comfortable home away from home on our visit.

Lokiloni25, Bend, Oregon 26/09/2016

I have always enjoyed my stays at Best Western hotels. They always have nice clean rooms, fairly updated decor, and a good continental breakfast. This indoor pool and spa was awesome. Really big. The hotel was right off of the freeway which is great when traveling. My only qualm is that the curtains weren't as thick as I am used to staying in hotels and I wish I would have brought a sleeping mask to block out the parking lot lights. Other than that, I was very satisfied with my stay.

"Not Great - concerning customer service"

User 25/09/2016

We were down on a quick family overnighter. We were visiting Enchanted Forest. We called on our way down and asked if we could check in early. The woman who answered the phone instantly started complaining, "well, I don't know yet. It's just now check out time. You will need to call back in a couple of hours." Wow - no, can I get your name? I'm sorry I don't know yet. Not a great first impression. We just changed gears and planned to check in at regular time. The room was okay - definitely ready for an update. There was food left from the prior guests. The person at the front desk was very kind and apologetic about that and offered to move us. We likely won't be back.

"On the fence..."

Jennifer C, Fresno, California 18/09/2016

Had to come to Oregon on family business, from California. Idk where to start... The room itself was nice. 2 queen beds, TONS of pillows, mini-mini fridge, microwave, tv, bathroom, shower/tub... you know, your basic room. We stayed 2 nights. The 1st night was ok, my bed seemed to be fine, but apparently the other bed was "like sleeping on plywood" (I didn't notice a difference). In the morning we could hear the upstairs people walking around and taking showers. Breakfast was good! Lots of verity!! Doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, sausage, coffee (yummy creamers), English muffins, eggs, cereal... The 2nd night I was woken up @ 3am by my neighbors dog chewing on a squeekie toy!! I finally had to have the front desk step in and call their room. We were a split room, and could hear everything that was going on in that room!!! We could also hear all the road noise too... our room was near the road so a room near the back may be more quiet. Overall... I say it's a good stay. Just get a room in the back, ask for a non split room and make sure u have earplugs and a shot of zzzzz quil to help u sleep.

"Salem trip"

Mathew N, Port Orchard,Washington, United States 18/09/2016

When we entered our room ti smelled like a dog had been there. The male desk clerk said it was normal for the rooms to smell because it was an old building. I stayed in the same motel a year ago and I can tell you it never smelled like a dog!

"Great place to stay!"

User 17/09/2016

Very quiet. No freeway or road noise. Nice area. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff friendly and professional. Ample size breakfast area with additional seating outside. Good selection of breakfast items. Easy parking access to lower level rooms. We also have stayed at the Best Western Plus in Salem and found we liked this one even better and at a lower price!.

"Super Pool!"

Vickie1949, South Jordan 14/09/2016

This property consists of a two-story, u-shaped area of rooms surrounding a large building that has a beautiful inside pool and inviting area for breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, and we didn't mind walking across the parking area to breakfast because the weather was great. However, this might be problematic on a bad weather day. The shampoo came from a dispenser on the tub's wall. We paid $116.33, which included tax. The breakfast was average, but I had never seen an automatic pancake maker before. It's really fun to try it. The pancakes aren't quite as good as the waffles you usually see at these breakfasts, but still pretty good. You'd be pleased to stay here.

"Don't expect much from the breakfast"

Gitta B, Poulsbo 12/09/2016

Stayed the night of 5-6 Sept. On 6 sept at 8am I went to the breakfast room to find there was no coffee. Nobody was in attendance, and when I called out a hello at the reception desk, receptionist "Nicole" dashed out of the backroom - making a rather snide comment of being "on a business call" when asking for coffee, 3 out of 4 pots were empty and that 4th one was hidden in the back row. Said she was "making coffee". The pancakes coming out of a machine resemble rubbery headgaskets (as my husband called them), and there was no orange juice, no forks, no egg patties to make egg mcmuffin (was told to eat a hardboiled egg, followed by a stern education about their supplies being based on the number of guests expected, and it would 8 minutes - 15 minutes later still none), I took the last English muffin but lots of bagels left, no variety of jams - just raspberry. It seems nobody is paying attention to stock up. But the parking lot was full - and 8am is still a busy time for travelers to eat. There were other guests complaining about the breakfast quality and the lack of supplies. There is not one person in charge of just taking care of such tasks. We've never encountered such a lack of attention to breakfast supplies - not in a BW - nor any other hotel domestically or a abroad over the course of 40 years of extensive traveling. Bottom line - forfeit this one and go across the street to the Pancake House. On a positive note, the receptionist on Labor Day, Laurie, was excellent and very helpful. She recommended a restaurant with outdoor seating and called to make sure they allow dogs outside. She also found a couple of parks to walk our dog, especially the State Capitol - which by itself is an architectural, modern marvel? after being rebuilt after the 1930's fire. She printed out a map and addresses so we could easily let our GPS find everything. If it weren't for her, I'd have given this BW 1 Star for service! Salem is a very nice, clean city. Other than that the rooms are large, bed is comfy, but the pillows are overstuffed and hard. If traveling with a dog - the grassy area is about 20x20 feet - good for a Chihuahua. Since most BW's are pet-friendly, if would be nice if they offered a larger, maybe fenced in area for their 4-legged guests. We would not stay there again.

"Not Recommended"

User 10/09/2016

I was booked here for 2 nights for work. When I checked in, they were doing construction and had to move me to a room I did not reserve (to 2 doubles vs 1 King). The front desk lady said to check the next day to see if we could be moved to another room - which was totally understandable. The next morning, the rude front desk lady said she could not assign us to another room since she somehow "won't know what rooms will be open" and to call at noon to check. So... we called at noon and was told "sorry, housekeeping already left, so you can't switch" then went on to tell us she she could set us up in a different room - but we would be charged for 2 rooms that night. So of course we opted to stay in a room that we didn't even reserve. Besides that issue, the rooms are pretty outdated. The shower sprayed water all over the ground, the plug ins didn't work well, the lighting is horrible, and the TV remote didn't work. On the upside, the sheets were clean and it was pretty quiet to at least sleep through the night. The AC works very well, to the point of freezing to death if you set it right. I think I would have rated it higher if the front desk was nicer or better to work with (rather than giving us the run around every couple hours). Due to that, it was just an irritating stay - which I would not recommend to others.

"Be careful when showering!"

Bodaciousbabe43, Myrtle Creek, Oregon 08/09/2016

The hotel was easy to find off I-5. I had room 107. It was clean and roomy. My complaint is about the shower. I had asked for a Handicapped room as they usually have a shower with a wand. I wasn't given that type of room. The shower head was stationery with no flexibility and placed rather high on the wall. When I turned it on, the spray hit the wall and ricocheted out the shower curtain onto the floor creating a mess. When I got the shower curtain (which was on the skimpy side)rearranged, I realized I would need a shower cap or my recently styled hairdo would be ruined. I didn't have one with me, so I had to improvise using the laundy bag. If a hotel has such a user unfriendly shower head, the least they can do is provide a shower cap on the counter of the sink. Even if they had them at the front desk, I would hate to have to get dressed again just to go and get one. The breakfast was adequate and the jacuzzi was enjoyable.

"I would stay here again :-)"

jariv1258, Scottsdale, Arizona 08/09/2016

Great value. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Several healthy breakfast options. Convenient to the highway. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the area :-)

"Good place if you travel with no kids"

User 06/09/2016

Nice place to stay a night, but you have to walk across the parking lot to a reception desk and swimming pool. Not a good thing to stay there with kids since you have to cross the parking lot to get to a swimming pool. No shower rooms in swimming pool area.

"Good location and great value"

User 02/09/2016

We typically stay in Best Westerns on our vacations and this one was obviously an older property as the room was a bit rough and had issues getting the key card to work in the door properly. But it was ok for the one night on our way through town. The room was clean and the staff was we'd stay here again if in the area.

"Excellent value for money."

Clare M, Roseburg, Oregon 01/09/2016

Room clean and recently decorated, decor a little dark, but no more so than most motel rooms, there were plenty of working lamps. Bed very comfy and good bedding. Shower worked well and there were plenty of good towels. AC was ineffective, but could have been operator error! I We were tired and just didn't mess with it much. We asked to stay on top the floor to avoid guest walking noise from rooms above. Not troubled by noise, other guest were very pleasant. Booking staff, receptionist, maids and breakfast lady very friendly and helpful. Did not use Wi-Fi., but believe it was available Breakfast advertised as continental. As a British customer I was expecting a doughnut and coffee. There was much more, biscuits & gravy, egg pattie and sausage pattie, a pancake machine and all the other usual cold options. Well presented, well stocked and clean eating area. They sold themselves short here! Enjoyed our stay, would stay again and recommend to others.

"Perfect Night During the State Fair Visit"

Gregory D, Grants Pass, United States 01/09/2016

Fortunately, we planned to stay at that motel overnight and the local magazine advertised that state fair was located nearby at the moment. We drove down there for several hours sightseeing the fair at the perfect timing as the weather was cooperating perfectly. One flaw we would like to mention is that the bathroom decor needs to be updated, but we enjoyed every moment of staying at the motel in a good environment.

"Excellent Value"

John H, Danville, California 29/08/2016

The hotel staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is clean, rooms are good size, the bath and toilet area are smaller, it was quiet and I felt very safe. There are many restaurants and shopping areas close by to choose from as well.

"Good Trip"

Joanna B, Seattle, United States 29/08/2016

Good place to meet up with family. Lobby is clean and attractive. Motel is not too big. My brother and I had rooms close to each other. Enjoyed breakfast. Good coffee. Eggs were good, but sausage was not heated enough.

"Good Choice to Spend Night"

User 25/08/2016

Called late in the evening. Room was available. Price wasn't bad. Check-in was quick and easy. Room smelled musty, Needed some airing out. Mattress was lumpy and old. Otherwise everything was fine. Hotel was close to all necessary services. Area was quiet.

"Way Over Rated"

Ramin444, Brooklyn, New York 23/08/2016

It is a Best Western but should have really been a Motel 6 ! The property is basically a Motor Inn, drive in to your room, small rooms dark Room and Outdated. OK for One night but definitely not more, The room felt more like a dungeon than a Best Western hotel, but maybe my expectations of a Best western are much higher. Breakfast but OK, with friendly staff. Overall not a 2 Star property.

"A better Salem hotel"

Dale K, Huntsville, Texas 23/08/2016

Right off the freeway without the high traffic noise. The staff was very friendly. There are restaurants close by. Everything in the room worked fine. IMO there are not a lot of high quality hotels in the immediate area and this is one of them.

"Should be a BW Plus..."

Gardiner W, Vancouver, Canada 22/08/2016

Situated only 2 minutes from the I-5, quite close to ddowntown and scrupulously clean this property met all needs. Very comfortable room, engaging reception staff, good breakfast (I had never seen the one minute making pancake machine before) and nice property layout. I am surprised that this property is not in the BW Plus category.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our new breakfast items, as well as the room and property. Our team works very hard to take care of our guest and our establishment. Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your comments, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Cali4niahiker, Merced, California 19/08/2016

Located close to I-5. Check in and check out was friendly. Room had a strong chemical smell but seemed clean. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Breakfast choices- fewer than most BW but very adequate. Nothing real positive or negative here. Solidly average.

"ALways stop here--high quality service"

Philip B, Alameda, United States 19/08/2016

My wife and I travel through or visit town at least once a year and always stop here. We have never experienced serious problems and the staff has always been able to accommodate our request for a ground floor room--even during State Fair time. I plan to stay here again and have recommended to my son and his family.

"Exceeded expectations!"

Ryan U, Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom 11/08/2016

Doing a fly drive and this was prebooked early on and was the cheapest and lowest star rated hotel of the trip so I was a little worried. But the staff were friendly, fast and helpful, the room was an upstairs motel room with good air con, comfy beds and I slept really well. Breakfast was also included and had a good selection. Very happy and will make sure I use Best Western more in the future.

"Close to I-5"

jan o, Henderson, Nevada 11/08/2016

Typical Best Western. Nice accommodation but rooms near I-5 hear the noise. Room dark then we realized they had painted the ceilings a dark Brown. Made the room seem dingy. Recently remodeled but the toilets are very low and difficult to use. Beds are nice but we thought they were a little too high off the ground.

"Stress Free Stay"

User 09/08/2016

The staff at reception are awesome!!!! I made an unconscious mistake of reserving only 2 nights when I thought I reserved 3 nights. Nicole called me while I was hiking and out of cell phone range, however, she went a head and reserved another night for us. We are so thankful to her. Sometimes us seniors make these kinds of mistakes. Rest assure we will recommend your hotel to others. Thank you for all you did for us to make our stay stress free.

"Good Value"

Maurice C, Sunriver, United States 09/08/2016

We needed two adjoining rooms and a very late night arrival. We had four adults and 4 children with easy access to the rooms. The hotel staff was very accommodating and when we arrived, everything was in perfect order. We had decent rooms for a fair price and a good breakfast. Everyone left happy.

"An OK Place for the night"

rcaz, El Cerrito, CA 07/08/2016

Stayed there twice in the last week, once on our way to Mt. Rainier ans once on the return trip. Both times we found the rooms to be clean, spacious and attractive. The micro and fridge worked well and the bed were comfortable. The continental breakfast was good, similar to most places in that price range. The staff is very and courteous. On the first trip our room was in the back building, away from the street and it was very quiet. the second time we we in the building opposite the office. It's closer to the street and the street noise periodically bothered us during the night. Request a room in the back building. The downside of this Best Western is that that rooms are not dark enough during the night. The curtains are translucent, allowing light to penetrate. Also room's night light is very bright and cannot be turned off or unplugged.

"Last Minute Choice - Great Experience"

LuvToCruise4001, El Dorado Hills, California 05/08/2016

My wife and I always stay at Best Western properties where available so when we needed a rest point on our return trip from Seattle area to home we checked the Best Western website for a convenient stopping off point. While we would have preferred a location closer to Crater Lake National Park, we were very pleasantly surprised to find this hotel as an alternative. Close to I-5 in North Salem Oregon, Pacific Highway Inn is convenient for those traveling either direction. Clean, well-appointed rooms, attractive grounds, and SUPER friendly staff made our short visit very pleasant. Would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to friends and family; would definitely use it again when traveling in that area.

"Good Staff"

Stef D, Nanaimo 29/07/2016

The Salem BW was good. The staff inparticular, is VERY accommodating. The evening we were there they had a full house. We were given a room that was nice, except for the fact that the sink was broken. They sent in a handyman that was very good.

"Cheap and noisy hotel"

Douglas A, Seattle, United States 28/07/2016

Right next to the highway I was stuck in 101 which was very loud. Followed by workers directly outside my room in the morning beeping on their equipment to fix a light that must have had to been fixed immediately first thing when there was natural light. Kind of throw back decor, you get what you pay for I guess. I will not stay here again although if I did I would request away from the highway and on the 2nd floor.

"Great find - fairly priced well-maintained and upgraded"

Khatsahlano, Vancouver, Canada 27/07/2016

We have previously stayed at a Best Western about 4 miles away but this time its rates (July) were quite high, so we booked through BW's central booking system and they suggested the Pacific Highway Inn. It is about a quarter mile off the freeway, and on arrival it gave an excellent impression. There were flower beds at the entrance and the buildings looked relatively freshly painted. It is a standard design hotel with several two storey buildings each with outside walkways servicing the rooms. The lobby was spacious and attractively furnished with plenty of comfortable chairs. The breakfast room is a good size and there are even tables and upholstered chairs along the edge of the lobby if one doesn't want to listen to morning television. There is also an outside patio with tables and chairs. We selected an upstairs room to avoid any footsteps above, and it was well furnished, even having two comfortable chairs and a side table for us to enjoy our evening wine at. There was no road noise overnight, but the air conditioner is an old one with fan settings mounted on the machine itself, which is up near the ceiling of the bathroom area. It proved to be noisy even on the low fan setting, but on speaking to the very pleasant desk staff in the morning, we learned that this is one of the remaining upgrade items on their to-do list. Breakfast was a continental one but with everything that we needed. The price for the hotel was most reasonable at $89, almost half of what the other BW was charging. Overall, this has been a very good find – a clean, well-kept and convenient hotel at a most reasonable price and with friendly staff. We will be back.

"BW Pascific Hwy -- Salem"

thomasd586, Bend, Oregon 25/07/2016

This is a very clean, well-maintained property. Good location just off I-%, but far enough away that no traffic noise. While a bit older in construction, as mentioned it is very well maintained and clean. Housekeeping and maintenance constantly keeping property clean and attractive. Unit we stayed in quiet and comfortable; breakfast quite nice. We've been here before and were not disappointed this time. Will return when need arises.

"Clean and Comfortable"

LoriL15, Netarts, Oregon 22/07/2016

Good Value for the area. Clean grounds, clean rooms. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, but not many choices compared to other places. In an industrial area so is fairly quiet at night. Staff very friendly and helpful.

"Surprised this is rated as high as it is"

Barbara S, Oswego, New York 17/07/2016

Nothing too exceptional. Ok for a stop over but will try something else next time. It was very quiet. In the evening to stretch my legs I walked around the block to a quiet modest residential area. Nice breakfast touch with the cranberries and coconut for the oatmeal.

"Beautiful flowers "

cpmontana, Victor, Montana 15/07/2016

The hotel was nice enough, room was modest but the internet stinks. That's two night in a row. Bed was comfy but the pillows were not my type. Shower head is fix and doesn't move, but the water was hot??Breakfast was good but limited. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has several verities of flower around the hotel that make it feel very warm and friendly

"Good price"

MVCorey, Bellingham, Washington 13/07/2016

We stayed because the price was right. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. But wow was I grateful for the windows that opened with screens. Otherwise the smell of the cleaning fluid they use would have been very difficult for me. I am not a fan of industrial strength smelling cleaning products, especially if the room cannot be aired out. So beware if that bothers you.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I apologize on behalf of our entire team for the issue with the smell of the cleaners. We are testing some new products with a more natural citrus smell. I hope you will stay with us again in the future.

"Nice family place"

UncleDuck, Northern California 13/07/2016

Looks like a motel style layout, but well maintained, clean and comfortable. Check in is smooth, with check in parking. Pool and hot tub are sparkling clean and they furnish pool towels too. Bathroom is small, but nice and clean. Room has air conditioning and heat, beds were firm, but in the morning, no sore spots on the older body. Nice bedding on the beds and a little table, two chairs and desk and chair. Microwave and refrig, plus good lighting for reading or work. Good value here and right across the street from the Original Pancake house, one of our favorites. Grandson is sleeping well, having used up all his car energy in the pool. Nice breakfast with a championship pancake machine to fill the little one. We'll stay here again.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We have done some updates to the rooms and property recently, with more to come in the future. Thank you for your response and we hope you will stay with us again!

"OK for a stopover"

Luther N, Langley City, Canada 13/07/2016

Kind of on the low end of BW standard. Air-con shut down in the middle of the night. Attendant came to look over and had no clue. More like controlled by timer than thermostat. Rooms just ok clean. Only upside is the hot breakfast. Not value for money. Will not go back again.

harmum, Lawrenceville, Georgia 11/07/2016

It is always nice to be surprised in a pleasant way. This Best Western is neat, clean, with very friendly employees. Room was large, comfortable bed, GREAT breakfast with a superior host. Location is just off I-5, with a turnaround necessary if you area going South. NOTE: This is not a "four star" hotel with a bunch of amenities, just four star with service, room, bed, and the staff. Give it a try!!!

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your response. We are glad you and your family enjoyed the time spent with us at Best Western Pacific HWY Inn. We hope to see you again in the future!

"Very convenient for a Sunday night layover for early Monday morning Business meeting"

chief6824, southern oregon 11/07/2016

Convenient to I-5. Minutes from down town. Room had all the basics. Was clean.. Carpet was showing its wear. Staff was very friendly. Had a computer and printer in lobby, Free wi-fi. pool and spa. Out-door parking and room access, Be security aware. We had no problems. Recommend this hotel for short stays. I will stay here again if in the area. Fit my needs very well. Price a bit high for the room but was made up for by the convenience of location,

"Very good experience"

mcnelson01, Hot Springs, South Dakota 11/07/2016

This BW has well laid out rooms, is clean and well kept. The breakfast includes eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, breads, pancakes, yogurt and juices. Good selection. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

"Ok for a night or two"

Kluane, Zurich, Switzerland 10/07/2016

For one night in transit to the south or north, the BW hotel is quite OK. The rooms are equipped with everything that one needs. It has an indoor pool (did not use it though) and a free breakfast is served. The hotel's location is very good, right near the highway entrance to Portland/Seattle. For restaurants, a car is needed as there are no proper places to eat within walking distance. The staff is very friendly.

"short notice stay"

TMac012, Burns 09/07/2016

I have stayed here before and this time was no exception as to quality for price. Room was clean and everything worked. The rooms are quite quiet as for room to room noise. Good TV reception and Wi-Fi was adequate for my needs. Breakfast was well presented and kept full and tables were clean and bussed as they emptied. The rooms I have had the road noise in very low.

"OK for a stop over hotel"

4hoodz, Graham, Washington 07/07/2016

Originally wanted a Queen room but it wasn't available the day we wanted so we had to pay the extra $20 for a King. All the rooms are accessed from the outside so security may be a concern. Room was a little noisy right next to the road and the room next door you can hear the TV. Location was great, right off I-5, staff was friendly, lobby was clean, they have a pool and hot tub but did not have the chance to use them. The room did smell a little like a doctors office, the bed was comfortable, bathroom clean but the carpet could use a good cleaning. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, donuts, biscuits and gravy and good coffee. Because of the higher price, probably won't stay here again.

"Breakfast was awful"

carral069, Salem, Oregon 27/06/2016

Good rates. Clean rooms. The afternoon desk clerk was really nice and friendly. But the breakfast was greatly disappointing. The pancakes from the machine were chewy like they were stale. Had to ask for silverware, had to ask to have the table wiped down, and at 7:30 in the morning had to ask for eggs and sausage since whatever they had up was gone already. Been waiting for the food now for 10 minutes. Maybe they should pay attention to what the breakfast area is doing.

"Perfect family getaway"

luciacoffeegirl, Centralia, Washington 27/06/2016

We had a wonderful time on our recent visit. When we first arrived, I was worried because the doors are on the outside of the hotel, but the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and we felt welcome right away. Our kids loved the pool and we enjoyed watching them play. The free breakfast in the morning was good and gave us the start we needed. This hotel isn't fancy, but it suited our needs very well. We will happily stay here next time we visit Salem.

"Nice place great service"

AngelK916, Sacramento, California 22/06/2016

I stayed here two nights when attending a wedding. It is on a busy street, but the rooms were quiet - not only did I hear no street noise, but I didn't even hear neighbors and the place was sold out both nights. There is a really great breakfast that serves pancakes, bagels, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt and many other great things and they serve from 6am-10am, which is great because it was not too crowded as people had plenty of time to drop in. There was an indoor heated pool and spa, which was clean and well maintained. It is a motel, not a hotel, but I felt safe and the place was well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for the review of our property. Our staff always enjoys hearing that your satisfied with the services provided. We did a upgrade of our breakfast and are glad we met your expectations. We hope to see you again in the future.

Lorain G, Waldport, United States 22/06/2016

Nice place. Excellent value for the money. Nothing in walking distance, but less than 2 miles to shopping and restaurants. Room seemed newly remodeled. Everyone pleasant and helpful. Will probably be my usual place to stay now if I'm in the area.

Love the location for our visit. We were attending the Fair Grounds for the week-end. Location was close and easy to get to our location. The motel and lobby area were a welcoming site. The location was quiet and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We appreciated the clean rooms and comfortable beds. Would stay there again.

"Noisy needs work"

User 18/06/2016

I spent one fairly sleepless night here. The room is old for the price. The highway noise kept me awake all night. There is also a small window in the bathroom that keeps the room light all night even with the door closed. Staff weren't particularly friendly but not rude. Would not stay again.

"Not as scary as I thought"

Ron R, Spring, Texas 17/06/2016

Someone else made this reservation. When we rolled up on this place I was like oh no. I have not stayed in place with doors open to parking lot in quite some time. It turned out better than it looked. My only real complaint was the miniature ironing board.

"BEST Best Western I Have Stayed On My Trip!"

User 10/06/2016

We had a very pleasant stay at this motel. The property is well maintained with attractive landscaping. Our room was quiet and clean. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in a good looking lobby/breakfast area. WIFi reception was excellent. Our only regret is that we did not plan to visit Salem longer. We would definitely stay here again.

"Good Hotel Great Location"

Aaron B, Hartford, United States 06/06/2016

Good hotel. Free parking. Just outside of Salem downtown. By the highway. Great breakfast. Good rooms. They a pool. 45 mins away from Silver Falls State Park. It is a must see. By a few other attractions.

"Attractive, reasonably priced hotel for the area"

Philip F, Hemet, United States 30/05/2016

This place looks nice on the outside, particularly on the outside, and the price was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the Salem area. The rooms are a bit outdated, particularly the climate control system. There was an ancient thermostat in the room plus a switch Heat and Cool. There were no directions on how to operate it. Nevertheless, the room was very adequate and clean, the bathroom fixtures all worked well, and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.

"Good option if you're passing through"

Lalaboops, British Columbia 24/05/2016

We chose this hotel for the easy access from from the I-5. This was a short stop en route to California. Arrived very late after being on the highway a number of hours. There were 3 travelers in a row that arrived around the same time. The front desk was efficient and checked us in quickly. If you're just here for a sleep, the hotel is a good option. The room was large, and the beds fairly comfortable. We did not require the shower, and I'm thankful we didn't need it. The bathtub wasn't the cleanest, as you can see in the attached photo. In addition to the hair, there was black residue in the base of the tub. Almost like it hadn't drained well. The rest of the bathroom was clean. The ladies taking care of the front desk and breakfast room were very friendly. Breakfast was good, with a variety of the usual continental breakfast options. Overall, I wouldn't rate this motel badly. I hope the lack in housekeeping in our bathroom was just an anomaly. I would stay here again if a quick stop was needed when traveling the I-5.

"Just ok compared to other BW's"

User 24/05/2016

I was highly disappointed when my special request for a first floor room was not honored even though I had a guaranteed reservation. I have a service dog and it's difficult to carry all our bags with a bad back up a flight of stairs. However,I wanted to stay at a BW so I reluctantly accepted the 2nd floor room that was available. Unfortunately once I got into the room and realized how hard it would be to take the stairs several times during our overnite, I chose to check out and go to another hotel. When I went to the front desk to get a refund the clerk miraculously found a first floor room for me! I'm very disappointed and now reluctant to stay at BW knowing they do not honor special requests when there is availability. Also, carpets need to be cleaned. My dog was uncharacteristically interested in the embedded smells.

"quick trip"

TMac012, Burns 24/05/2016

Older hotel, well repaired and has been updated and or remodeled not to long ago. Clean, fresh paint, new tile in bathroom, furniture in excellent condition, adequate seating and work space. I was a little skeptical at the location but is was quiet in reference to street noise and next room was not easily heard, water ritual did not exist. Breakfast was a little short as some (unknown if attended or not) wiped out pastries completely, sausage and biscuits were quite good, fruit and yogurt were avail, lacking in eggs(they had hard boiled) and meat(none) other normal items were fresh and filled. I would stay again.

"Nice Motel in North Salem"

Tom F, Perrysburg, Ohio 22/05/2016

Nice motel located in north Salem close to I-5. This is an older Best Western that has been maintained well. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. With easy access to down town, the Lancaster area or Keizer this is a perfect place to stay when on business or visiting the area.

the service provided by the desk clerk when we checked in, was very friendly and very helpful given the fact that it was so late at night around midnight. The room was very clean. the bed was very comfortable. slept very well. Had a good night sleep. We got up early the next morning and the desk clerk on duty was very courteous and friendly.

This is a very nice hotel. Friendly greeting staff and eager to help with questions. Such as good local resteraunts and places to tour and visit. Bed is comfortable, room very clean and a very nice morning breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Clean, Friendly, Helpful"

fishy53, Fordland, Missouri 16/05/2016

The room was spacious and kept cleaned. We were there for 4 days and nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had a large variety of hot and cold items. Checking in and out was simple. It is located near many attractions in the Salem area. It was quiet at night. I would stay there again.

"Standard road-side hotel, perfect for travelers passing through"

mdevon11, Chicago, Illinois 10/05/2016

The Pacific Highway Inn is a very standard, on-brand Best Western that met all of my needs during my one-night stay. I thought the front desk staff was nice and reasonably helpful with issues. Rooms were clean and adequately furnished, although the room I stayed in (2 Queens) definitely wasn't the most comfortable bed I've had. That didn't stand in the way of a good night's sleep though :) I particularly thought that this hotel was a nice value - I feel like I got what I paid for. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard, but I've never seen an automatic pancake machine like they had and I was really impressed. Not even bad pancakes either! I will add that the location of the hotel was a little further from downtown Salem than I had realized - I ended up getting a taxi into the downtown area for dinner, which I hadn't expected needing.

"Good Value"

Andrew G, san diego, United States 02/05/2016

The room and property were clean and comfortable. We stayed for a graduation in Salem and the location was ideal. The hotel is on a busy road so we asked for a room farther back on the property and they gave us a room that was more quiet with no issues. The cleaning staff was courteous and the rooms were clean. The internet was weak but workable.

"Simple yet satisfying"

Tristan R, Rexburg, Idaho 30/04/2016

Room is normal, yet clean and simple. Everything was clean and tidy. Reception area is very big and nice. Ground infront of motel rooms is actually carpet, which was odd, but it helps to muffle sound of walking or rolling luggage which is very nice. Almost no sound from outside of the room and every room was full when I stayed. There is a subway about 50 yards away from the parking lot that is open 24 hours. A gas station beyond that. Plenty of places within walking distance to get snacks, drinks, etc. Wifi reception was suprisingly good, despite having hotel completely booked. Better than some hotels I've stayed at that were 2x the price. Only complaint is that the parking lot doesn't have many places available to park right outside of your room. If you arrive late, you're likely going to have to park on the opposite side of the lot.

"Great experience"

Abbco70, Las Vegas, Nevada 30/04/2016

From the moment we arrived till we left the staff where great, anytime we needed something that wasn't provided in the room they gave us freely at the front desk. The room and other facilities are clean and kept up. The breakfast was good considering it was continental (you know how those usually are) can't complain. Over all I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Motel Friendly"

Frances L, Seattle, United States 27/04/2016

We have been gathering as a family at this motel for different events (reunions, weddings, funerals) for over 30 years and are never disappointed. Comfortable beds, updated rooms, friendly staff and service. I would recommend this motel for any travel, business or pleasure.

"Still a best value, except when hot"

Brewsbee, Ashland, OR 24/04/2016

I raved about this place in a review about ten years ago, and it still rates very high. You still enjoy nice touches like real glass cups and stoneware mugs (no paper throwaways), a huge indoor pool, good breakfast, big fluffy towels, and furniture and carpets that are a cut above what's the norm for under-$100 rooms. I had no quibbles with my earlier stay in winter, but on this record-hot April day I needed the AC. The older unit was a bit noisy, and the rear location in the bathroom sink area made the circulation poor into the main room. Heat is separate no-noise radiating.

Nicole-BWPHI, Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for taking time out of your day to let us know of these issues. I'm sorry to hear your stay wasn't as enjoyable as your last. We are in the process of doing some upgrades and I believe the A/C units are on the list. I know this information doesn't make up for your A/C not functioning correctly, and I apologize. I hope that you will give us a chance to improve. Again thank you for your time.

"Disappointing property"

PacificNW50, Richmond, Canada 24/04/2016

Recently stayed at this property, which is near the freeway. The staff told us the hotel is undergoing renovations. The room was noisy, and requires some assistance from maintenance to address non draining tub and sink, flickering lights above the sink, and a non working phone. The pool was closed for repair the day of our visit. The breakfast items were average, and the pancake machine should be removed. The lobby are is lovely, yet the areas walking to the guest rooms require some housekeeping assistance. We would not recommend this property if staying in Salem.

"Clean, convenient, but not quiet"

my4and2more, Rogue River, Oregon 13/04/2016

This is the hotel we always stay at when visiting family in Salem. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. The rooms are ALWAYS clean. And the price is reasonable. We try and book a handicap accessible room each time but this is the first time they actually had one available. The room was AWESOME and we even had space to park our mobility scooter inside without rearranging the furniture. The only problem was that this room was the closest one to the road. The road is a VERY busy one and we could hear road noises all night. The continental breakfast is excellent! There is something for everyone because of the variety of foods served. The staff even came over to offer me assistance during breakfast because it was obvious I had a severe headache. You can't go wrong when choosing to stay here. They even allow pets for a modest fee.

"Just right for the traveller"

849default, Courtenay, Canada 04/04/2016

This hotel is located within 3 minutes of Interstate 5 but there is no traffic noise within the rooms. The quality is reasonable and certainly value for money. The room was clean, in good repair and contained all the basics. Breakfast was a bit basic but there was sufficient choice and it was adequate quality.

Nicole-BWPHI, Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your time. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We are making some changes to the breakfast items such as, adding gluten free, rice milk and almond milk, dried fruits, granola, and grab n go bags for guest leaving before breakfast starts. We hope to see you again soon.

TheWentworths, Baker City 16/03/2016

1st room they put us in was not even an option. GAG! Second room was better but still horrid. Smelled bad even when we sprayed the febreeze we went out to buy. Front desk person told us all rooms smelled the same! Toilet seat moved when you sat on it. Several hairs in the tub. Bathroo ran for a bit then shut down. JUST PLAIN ICKY! When we complained to the front desk girl she just shrugged us off. When checking out we complained again to a different gal..her response was..WE ARE STARTING OUR REMODEL. We couldn't go elsewhere as we had a funeral to attend and family to meet.

Nicole-BWPHI, General Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear that your stay was not satisfactory. We are in the process of a remodel that can cause some irritation as far as smell and dust. I apologize for any issue this created for yo during your stay. Again thank you for taking the time to make us aware.

"Better value somewhere else"

User 10/03/2016

For the money you should stay at the other BW in town or at a different hotel chain. The room was clean, but the furniture is older and in some disrepair (bent table leg, tissue front plate falling off, uncomfortable bed, carpet showing a good amount of wear). The only thing that looked newer was the bathroom countertop. It's not a bad hotel, but considering the price it is not worth it. It was a half step above Motel 6 which I've stayed at many many times as well in that it has breakfast and internet included. It did have TV, a super mini fridge, hairdryer, a desk, and a table with two more chairs. I don't recall if it had a microwave. I have stayed at BW around Oregon and Washington and recently 10 times on a cross country trip over the last 2 weeks and this was the worst one. I was paying $95-$115 for much nicer rooms and amenities. I paid $95 for this one.

"Good Stay"

BreakingBad5, Bellingham, Washington 06/03/2016

I always choose BW hotels when travelling. My expectations of comfortable beds, clean, and friendly courteous staff was met once again at this hotel. Best Western is my main stay. Will stay again if travelling this way.

"Great place to stay"

BendLynda, Bend, Oregon, United States 27/02/2016

Everybody from when I made the reservation, to when we checked in, to the maintenance man, to the housekeeping staff were friendly and polite. We are light sleepers, so I'd asked for a quiet room, and it was. The price was cheaper than other Best Western Hotels in the Salem area, it was fine.

"Zane and Mommy"

Jaime C, Bend, Oregon 25/02/2016

My son loves the pool! Perfect place for us! The continental breakfast has an excellent variety ranging from biscuits and gravy to fruit, donuts, eggs, and great coffee. I stay there over anywhere in Salem. Clean rooms cozy bed and great on low noise.

"Sadly, going downhill"

John F, Myrtle Creek, Oregon 24/02/2016

As a Gold Rewards member, I've been to my share of Best Western facilities. I have to say that, up until this last visit, this hotel was meeting my needs just fine. Sadly, this last visit I had to admit it is going downhill. Lighting in the rooms leaves something to be desired. They're pretty dim. The last room I was in on 02/10/2016 had a tattered rug with threads stretched out from the tears. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best, even after requesting a room with good reception due to the need to do some on-line work. I have tried to stay loyal to the Best Western brand whenever I travel, but I will probably be removing this one from my list. Sad, because the staff are VERY friendly and nice people.

"Good Location"

Richard W, Waldport, OR, United States 15/02/2016

This motel is located in the Northeast part of Salem where there are several shopping centers and restaurants, some within walking distance others just a short drive to them. Plus the Fairgrounds is only a few blocks away.

"Would stay again"

rarintoroam, Seattle, WA 14/02/2016

We stayed one night and found it perfectly fine. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable, linens were fine (tho the towels are a little on the short side - but thick enough). It was very quiet - no freeway noise, no traffic noise of any kind - and the staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was just OK, but I'm kind of picky about my food. If you just need a clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay as you're traveling through the area, I would definitely recommend this Best Western.

User 09/02/2016

Upon arrival I had some issues with the billing, but the friendly staff helped me out and corrected the mistake. It was a very nice place especially the pool and hot tub area. I did have a few issues with the tv, remote having to replace it twice, besides that a very nice stay.

"Nightly Stay"

Timothy T, Arizona, United States 03/02/2016

Staff was friendly however the Hotel is in dire need of being updated, many other options in the local area that offer newer facilities. Breakfast was good, many options. Hotel was just off the freeway, however, there were many others, much newer, would not recoomend staying here, did not think the nightly rate equaled the condition of the hotel and mainly the rooms. Hotel is in need of being updating to compete with the other local hotels

Loved this place very rarely you can say this was a perfect place. Everything was very well kept. The staff were very courteous and attentive. The establishment went out of its way to accommodate the wins of guests. Pool hours were extended great for early swimmers. Rooms had baseboard heat which means a nice quiet sleep even a nightlite near bathroom door. Rooms clean clean clean a real joy to stay will return again. Breakfast well done also

User 16/01/2016

Clean rooms, very comfortable bed, good breakfast included. Very convenient location in north Salem yet easy to get to main areas such as the Lancaster Mall. Easy to get to Keizer Station also. Would stay again.

"Lovely Little Spot"

User 04/01/2016

Super friendly. Super clean. Great location. The rooms are baseboard heating but work very quickly and efficiently! The bathrooms are super small but nice tub/shower size however the entryway to the bathroom is spacious and really pretty. Beds are comfortable as well as the pillows and they supply a good amount. There's also a little fridge and microwave which is an awesome bonus. A crib can be requested if you find yourself in need of one. I'm not disappointed at all!

"Impossible to rate this over average"

User 28/12/2015

I am amazed that there should be any reviews above 3 stars for this motel. It does not go below average because there is nothing inherently bad or disgusting about it. We did not feel like we had to try to get out of the motel and find a better one. It was clean. So, it is a serviceable and functional motel. But it is very old and has not been updated in perhaps 20 years. When your 11 year old son's first words are, "Wow, this is a really old motel," then you know it is old, because this is a fairly undiscerning person saying this. When we first got in, the room was freezing cold because no heat was running. Because the rooms have only electric baseboard heating, which takes a long time to heat up a room, we had to go to the pool while it was doing its job. When we got back about an hour and a half later, the room was finally warm. The pool was in great condition and kept at a comfortable temperature. We enjoyed the pool very much. The spa was hot and running, but for no discernible reason there was a sign saying that it was closed. We just took off the plastic cover and used it anyway. It worked fine. Even though there were only about 8 rooms occupied that night, the clerk somehow thought it was best to cluster everybody next to each other. I understand that this makes it easier for the housekeeping staff the next morning, but at least separate the occupied rooms by one empty room, if you choose to do this. As a result we were woken up at 3 o'clock in the morning by a couple screaming to each other. The other sound problem is that the hotel is bowl-shaped, facing the road. So you can expect heavy traffic noise to start at about 5 am. This has nothing to do with I-5 at all. So, requesting a room that is facing away from the freeway will do you no good at all. This is an average-at-best motel that performs the basic service of giving you a clean bed and bathroom, perfect if you are checking in late and just need those two things given to you so you can take off early the next morning.

"Best Western"

Great stay. Nice clean hotel. Lobby was super clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. Close to amenities and a fantastic restaurant within walking distance called the Guest House. I travel for business and have this listed as a favourite.

"One of the best hotels we've stayed at"

User 06/12/2015

My family and I come here almost every summer and sometimes during the winter, and this hotel is hands down one of the best we've stayed in. They are so welcoming and nice! And the breakfast in the morning is amazing. Everyone also likes the swimming pool and hot tube. We will definitely be back soon!!

"Worth the money"

Becky H, Green Bay, Wisconsin 02/12/2015

The majority of the staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and the hotel is in a great location with just a few minutes drive to most attractions. Close to Portland without the high price. Pool, work out room, great breakfast and pet friendly.

"Business work in Salem"

BergenViking61, Fall City, Washington 18/11/2015

At first glance the place looked slightly dated needing some remodeling work, but upon closer inspection was well kept and clean. Service was exceptional and we were even able to make some schedule changes with our team of 3 guys staying different nights. The continental breakfast was typical faire, but the pancake maker was a highlight. Just push a button and out comes two fresh pancakes!

"Enroute to Seattle"

Janet S, Crowley Lake, California 09/11/2015

This older hotel is updated with friendly, helpful staff. Check-in is easy. The room met our travel needs and was clean. The breakfast was a typical Best Western breakfast. The pool and fitness room look nice but unfortunately we did not have time to use either one.

"Great hotel"

Cynthia P, Coquitlam 08/11/2015

We stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year. Have always had a great stay. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast is good and always lots to eat. Recommend asking for rooms away from the new stores behind the hotel as it can get a little noisy.

"The WORST hotel experience EVER!"

jm2015number1, Portland, Oregon 22/10/2015

Travelled to and from Colorado back to Oregon. Each hotel we stayed at I had confirmed in advance that they accepted cats as most hotels we discovered do not. After check-in around 4pm we discovered that the room had a horrible odor, the beds were in awful condition, and the electrical and heating/cooling not only wasn't functional but looked like it hadn't been upgraded since the hotel had been built. The entire room appeared like it had been part of a really bad scene at a trashy hotel from the 70's. It was awful -- and we were to be there for two nights! Admittedly, we had already experienced some nice, and some not so impressive BW hotels during our trip, but this was the bottom of the barrel -- and in Salem? In order to close the bathroom door for privacy you had to stand sideways between the tub and toilet. Really? Yes, really. The cats were stressed more than normal as everything smelled in the room and there was no way to get adequate ventilation without opening wide the door, which meant the cats would disappear. When I returned to the office to inquire about the condition of the room I was informed by the front desk employee that 'yes, there had been complaints made previously regarding the beds & housekeeping had been requesting the $ to replace the beds.' I then made a comment that I would have stayed at the other BW in Salem for proximity to our destination but had confirmed that cats were not allowed at the property. At this point the employee informed me that both hotels had the same owner! I was surprised that BW would allow a franchisee 2 hotels in the same area. The employee then informed me that cats were not allowed at this BW either. At that point I countered the employee indicating that if she looked at my reservation, Diamond Reward status, & all previous reservations she could clearly see I had confirmed each stay with cats. Our room was directly in view of the front desk & we made no attempt to hide the cats as I had called each hotel directly to confirm & review every reservation. From this point our nightmare grew worse! Over the course of the next 2 hours we were informed we were being evicted & our credit card would not be refunded as the manager was not 'available.' I called BW Rewards customer service to register a complaint at the atrocious way we were being treated & now forced to leave. My complaint was escalated to a higher level with a BW rep who made numerous attempts to reach the hotel manager as well. His calls were never returned either. Many other assaults occurred over the next 2 wks including fraud which is incomprehensible. The sad reality is I am confident that this is not the first customer this hotel has shafted before. My repeated calls to BW customer service resulted in my being told that I had sent a letter of apology from the hotel -- boldface lie, & that my money had been refunded -- another lie. The truth -- never heard anything from the hotel (no call, email, fax, letter, nada) and my money was refunded eventually though briefly. Five days after the money was finally refunded to my credit card the hotel manager resent the transaction through without my authorization -- today known as fraud, otherwise known as stealing. When I called my bank to dispute the charge, VISA then got involved because of the fraud. The major inconvenience of my primary credit card for business being unavailable because it took almost 2 wks to get it replaced is reprehensible -- all due to a hotel committing fraud because a Diamond reward member was unconscionably evicted & the customer complained to get the record and matter resolved and corrected rightly! Clearly I couldn't recommend anyone staying at a BW in Salem as the owner doesn't care at all about the property or the guests, and the hotel manager was only interested in keeping her job, not about taking care of the guest or doing what was right in the first place. No issue would have been at the outset if we had been informed that cats were not allowed when the reservation was made. We never were anything but honest about travelling with the cats -- that's ludicrous. Pet owners who have any integrity at all don't try to hide their animals but accommodate them because travelling is stressful on everyone! Though I obviously support BW (Diamond rewards member status), I cannot ever recommend a BW in Salem, OR. My apologies for how long this review is -- this was a synopsis of the nightmare we lived through. Would have been a rating of "-5" if that was an option!

"Not the best Best Western in the chain"

James M, Victorville, United States 21/10/2015

I'm not a fan of the outside doors on hotels. Room had kind of a musty smell. Found a spider in the tub this morning. Just did not get that comfortable feeling at this hotel. The beds were the worst I've ever slept on ever at a Best Western and I've stayed at a lot of Best Western hotels. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Indoor pool was nice and clean. No problems with the staff.

"Horrible impression for an overseas visitor to our County"

Heather C, Silverton, Oregon 21/10/2015

I reserved this hotel for a visitor traveling on business from France as it appears to be a very nice place to stay on the website. The first night the room smelled so overwhelmingly bad from cigarette smoke he asked to move rooms, was placed in another stinky room. Couldn't sleep and we ended up having to book him at another hotel for his second night so he could get some rest before traveling back to France and could not receive a refund for the night he was not staying due to "policy" what about the non smoking policy???????? HORRIBLE

Jake B, Manager at BEST WESTERN Pacific Highway Inn, responded to this review
Thank you for your review of the property. We are sorry to hear that your guest was not pleased with his stay. We do enforce our non smoking policy however can not control guest who are smoking outside the rooms. The front desk did offer to move the guest to a different building to get away from the guest smoking outside. Again we are sorry for any issues, and do our best to make each guest stay a happy one.

"Great Find"

cleobh, Milwaukie, Oregon 14/10/2015

Everything is spotless and in great condition. The room was large, and very clean. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was well managed. The room was very quiet even on a busy street. The only disappointment was the cheap small screen TV.

"Room ODOR=0 stars/Amenities&service=4Star"

CalReb, San Jose, United States 12/10/2015

Unfortunately we were provided with a room that had a very strong musty odor. While the room looked clean, there was something in the carpet, curtains, walls, or A/C that generated the very strong foul odor. We kept the door open as long as possible. The bathroom and front windows were kept open all night to provide ventilation, but the odor made it difficult for us to get a good night's sleep. The front desk staff was apologetic and offered to spray air freshener, but that just covers up the problem rather than eliminating it. No other rooms were available for making a change. Due to allergies, this caused me considerable discomfort. Perhaps I needed to have been more explicit in my request for a odorless room. I had only requested no smoking & no pets as the special request box was too small to add much more.

"Easy access to Freeway"

Jerry K, Spokane 12/10/2015

We wanted to stay close to the Factory Outlet stores in Woodburn Oregon and did not know that there was a Best Western there so we opted to stay in Salem. All of the reviews seemed to be good so we booked. The hotel has the same floorplan as the old motels of the past. Bathroom in the back with an open doorway, cloths hanger and sink and two beds with TV. The main door opens out into the parking lot and a large window in front. The beds were soft but very saggy and uncomfortable depending on how you sleep. It is easy to find and easy to get back on the freeway.

"Great stay"

Beverly B, Goldendale, United States 10/10/2015

This was the best nights sleep we had in a 6 day trip, the room was exceptionally clean, internet worked with no problems. Front desk was very helpful and clean had a good fresh smell too. They had coffee till our bedtime, and even had an alcohol selection to choose from, those with a sweet tooth also had some popular choices from which to choose.

"3 night stay"

Debbie P, Eastern Oregon, United States 09/10/2015

Location was excellent for my purpose of visiting. Easy access to freeway. Room was average, but very clean. Fridge was marginal, heating/ac was noisy but worked. Breakfast was average. Internet was terrible. My key card had to be recoded each day after the room was cleaned. I visit Salem on business a couple of times a year and will consider staying here again due to location and clean room

"Good hotel"

Luv2travel_Dieppe, Dieppe, NB 08/10/2015

We had a clean, quiet and large room. The bath area had lots of counter space and the room had lots of desk space. The floor was squeaky so not good for the ones below. The mini-fridge was smaller than normal. There were limited choices at breakfast as well as limited seating but it wasn't too busy so no problem for us. There were 3 deadbolts on the door (opens to the outside) which kind of makes you wonder about safety in that neighborhood. We didn't see anything which made us feel unsafe.

"Clean, reliable, convenient"

qualchan, Eastern Washington 04/10/2015

This facility lives up to its longstanding reputation for very good value and great convenience to North Salem and the northern parts of Marion County. In addition, although it seems far from downtown, it is barely 10 minutes by surface streets and even less by freeway to the heart of Oregon's capital city. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the service is good, fine companions to very reasonable rates. When the occasion arises, we will stay here again.

"Another very nice Best Western hotel"

JerryVirginia, Columbus, Ohio 03/10/2015

when on a road trip in U.S., we like motels that are convenient to major interstates and that offer first floor rooms in front of which we can park our car. This was an excellent motel, courteous staff, free WiFi (a bit slow), continental breakfast, just a half mile from I-5, not far from some excellent restaurant options. Room clean, quiet, comfortable; price was very reasonable. We are members of Best Western Rewards club, and have had great luck with BW facilities throughout the USA. (For dinner, there is a very nice Olive Garden restaurant just one freeway exit south of the exit for this hotel; and there are other highly rated restaurants even closer) Hotel is less than an hour from rental car dropoff points at Portland airport, so this is a great place to stay if you are planning to fly out on the next day.

"Enjoyable stay"

Sara C, United States 02/10/2015

I had an enjoyable stay for the night I was there. The fitness room had newer equipment, the hot breakfast had a lot to offer and the beds were very comfortable. There were a few things that could use updating, but it was obvious they haven't the place get run down. I would stay here again!

"Noon room change request is a little late"

WesternConsult, Bellingham, Washington 23/09/2015

After 1st night requested room change around Noon due to upper floor noise. Front desk said it was a little late for a change request then continued to find an upper floor room. I was able to get a friendlier interaction towards the end, but was that "reminder" necessary? ALL room change requests at other facilities have been welcomed, whether fulfilled or not. Never questioned.
