Best Western Historical Inn

We had a 2 bedroom suite which included a living room, eating area and kitchen. It was a good size with good amenities. Russ and Virginia were helpful at check--in. The hotel is currently being upgraded and sadly the work being done isn't great. Breakfast was very good and so was the coffee. The historic area was a 20 minute walk. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel recommended Ralph who runs a shuttle bus service which we used and was excellent.

Great small hotel. Room was nice and very clean with a walk in shower, beds were comfortable. Free breakfast in lobby each morning cereal,oatmeal,fresh toppings for them or the waffles, egg , potatoes,sausage, corned beef hash. Cute sitting area to eat. The hotel staff were very friendly. Definitely would stay here again. Five minutes drive to the parking garage to the Historic district. Pool available as well

Clean, great bed , ground floor, arrival member bag was so welcomed, girls at front desk were helpful. 1 bad thing we were changed for parking in the hotel parking lot. We loved the Decor old Historic. We liked it better than the Bayfront, who charged us parking also.

We attended a wedding St. Augustine, Florida and decided to turn it into a 5 night mini vacation. We had such an enjoyable stay at the Best Western Historical Inn! The room was very clean and serviced daily. The daily hot breakfast was a treat and we loved making those Belgian waffles. The staff was caring, attentive and engaged, providing excellent customer service at all times. Well done!

Wifi was basically nonexistent, breakfast was not good. Dry scrambled eggs, old fruit, no mean and not much of a variety. The shower curtain in the room was torn and didn't stay put on the rod. You could hear traffic and Trains going by in the middle of the night. The only good thing about the hotel is that you can walk to attractions and downtown St.Augustine.

FYI: This is not walking distance to the Historic District. It's name is misleading. The Best Western Bayfront is the one by all the restaurants. They said people often confuse this. This is a 5 minute car ride from that area. Just mentioning....

If I can give 0 I would. 3 bath towels for 4 people, really? The bathroom looks like they haven't touched it for years. It was very disgusting. We were not able to sleep at all due to the walls of this place does not hold any privacy so you can hear everything from everywhere ugh. I know it's just an inn to rest and go, but come on this place doesn't have even the basic to rest. Spend some extra $ if you want to rest and stay at a better place.

My wife and I came to see the Night of Lights on a boat tour. The location was very close to the marina we were using.The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The addition of having a Tesla charger on site helped tremendously.

The front staff is what makes this hotel so great. Very knowledgeable and so kind. The manager spent time with a lady who wasn't a guest but was lost and he saw to it that she made it safely to her destination by asking the trolley driver to let her follow him to her final destination. The other hotel was also kind enough to call him to let him know she had arrived safely. The hotel is very close to the downtown tourist area and they have a trolley that will take you anywhere for $5. each way. When ready to return just call him and he will pick you up wherever you are. Parking downtown is expensive and hard to find and this way you can enjoy adult beverages. There is a hot breakfast available. The washroom has a large counter area which is so convenient.Only drawback is there is no closet but is fine for a short stay.

Room smelled musty. Front desk changed our room. Went to take a shower and tile floor looked nasty like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Bedding had stains. Couldn't wait to come home. Thank God I was out of the room all day. Never got a good night sleep.

The room had bugs. Not disinfected as advertised and there was no hair dryer. The freezer needed to be defrosted. I knew I would have to pay extra for parking, but it was not that busy for this time of year and parking was easy.

We were very pleased with this hotel The check in staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh. All in working order. Very close to attractions Breakfast had a nice variety of items

We got moved due to a crying, barking dog in the next room. We felt so bad for this dog that I stayed outside for over an hour so the dog could see me. I'm sure it had to go to the bathroom and was hungry. Management offered to move us and we went into a room that was NOT a good as our first room. These guests should have been moved, not us.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was very clean, comfortable bedding. We love the porch overlooking the bay. It's close to everything & the trolly stops right out front. Has a pool which is nice when you have been walking around all day in the heat. A nice little breakfast place next door so convenient

We stayed here for a family wedding nearby. We had 2 rooms reserved and they were spacious and clean. Upon awakening the second morning we found no hot water in our room and called the front desk right away. To my surprise and delight within five minutes the general manager Tashay was at our door to reassure us she had us moved 2 doors down, into the room on the other side of our daughter's room. She brought us the new keys personally and checked on us a couple times to make sure all was well. We are frequent travelers and we appreciate this kind and friendly service not only when you're checking in and out, but during our entire stay, and especially when there was a problem. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The pool and pool area were clean and comfortable. We had our lunch poolside with our family and it was quite enjoyable. We were impressed with this nice hotel and the kindness of the staff. Will stay here again.

I really like this hotel for its convenience for whether walking or driving to where you want to go. Have stayed here before and always find the staff to be pleasant and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough

I found the shower to not be cleaned and the dresser to not being properly cleaned from a previous stay and one of the towels were not properly cleaned. Big red flags but it was late and my spouse and I didn't see a room change being possible. We were only staying a night so we said no big deal. When I woke up to grab my phone that fell to the floor I found that a pair of socks from a previous stay was still in the room! Now, the only thing I can think of is did they actually clean this room? Are my sheets cleaned? Was any of the things in my room properly cleaned or disinfected? I no longer wanted to indulge of any of the other amenities offered. I didn't trust the cleanliness of the breakfast area now because I'm now under the impression nothing here is properly cleaned. Worst hotel stay.

Great hotel, friendly people. This hotel is undergoing some remodel right now but the workers are not in your way or noisy. Our room showed signs of recent remodel. It had a nice bathroom but no tub. The flooring was wood not carpet. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that they would not open the breakfast area early so people could get coffee. They told me to use the in room coffee which is not very good. I did find a gas station just a block or so away where I could get coffee early.

This hotel was very comfortable and reasonably close to the historic downtown (about a 1 mile walk). It was very helpful to be able to avoid traffic and walk everywhere we wanted to go! Lobby and breakfast area were under construction, but hopefully will be done soon.

Whenever we go to St. Augustine we always stay at the Best Western Historical Inn. The staff is also very Customer oriented, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We always tell our friends that the Best Western Historical Inn is the place to stay.

This hotel is noisy, trains go by every hour day and night. Construction going on in the lobby. No hot breakfast. The floor was dirty in our hotel room. Construction was going on in the lobby at 9:00 at night. Will not stay there again

asked for adjoining rooms when i booked 3 weeks before reservation, didn't get them. the floor was absolutely filthy, the tv remote was also filthy, checkout time was 11am, we got woke up at 8;50am by a maid wanting to clean the room, 10 minutes later another maid knocked and opened our door wanting to clean the room. the desk clerk said it was an accident; asked for the manager was told she wasn't there and no one knew when she would be in, another lie. realized after checking out we were charged $10 for parking which was never mentioned when i booked the room, but even more laughable was our friend, who traveled with us, i.e. DID NOT DRIVE to the hotel was also charged $10 for parking, i walked 10 feet across the room barefoot and the bottom of my feet turned black from the filth so i took a clean, dry towel and spent 5 seconds wiping the floor with it and it turned black--i have a picture of it. All in all, a bad experience, which is becoming the norm for Best Western when it never used to be. At this point, i see very little difference between Best Western and Choice Hotels. sometimes its a good experience and sometimes its horrible, you just take your chances. This Best Western REALLY STINKS! DON'T STAY HERE.

Stayed at this crap hole because there was nothing else available and couldn't have been more disappointed. This property has declined severely in recent years. Rooms smelled and were dirty, property is sketchy and poorly maintained. Parking situation is a nightmare ($10 fee) and the staff isn't much better. Breakfast selection is equivalent to the county jail. And it was kind of expensive! Hard pass

Was better then expected and much better then previous stay at a Best Western. Much more then expected. We plan on staying here again on our trip back home to the north. Will surely recommend it. Only dissapointment had to pay parking fee

Avoid this place. Outside looks nice, but inside is horrible, its falling apart. They need some serious update on the rooms. Shower head is coming out, shower rod is loose, floor is all scratched, room was dirty, AC is so loud that u cant sleep, its was a construction zone outside, their HOT tube is actually cold, cant get warmer, and on top of that THEY ARE CHARGING PARKING 10$ PER NIGHT. This is the only place were i payed for a parking. Its ridiculous. Hampton Inn is way better place to stay. We are actually BW members, but after this we are switching to Hilton. NEVER AGAIN WITH BEST WESTERN.

Booked here for a 1 nite stay. I wanted to be in the historical area, but from here you'd have to drive there. (about a 5 minute drive) Parts of the hotel ate under construction, but rooms were ok. Breakfast included. In the website it said free breakfast + parking, but they charged me $10 for parking (not happy about that) No elevator, so if you are on the 2nd floor, get ready to lug your stuff up the stairs

There is a Hampton Inn in the same parking lot. Do yourself a favor n go there not at this Best Western. The room was not clean but the breakfeast was OK. I could not wait till morning to check out. Don't go there

The fact that I had to pay for parking on the property & the noise by young kids staying there completely turned me on this place. Will never recommend. The taxes for each item was outrageous bad time

Very clean room, everything was in working order, friendly caring staff, wonderful breakfast with many choices, we loved the waffles. who could ask for more! The front desk staff was helpful to recommend nearby restaurants, we had great BBQ at Brisky's, delicious brisket. Bed was super comfortable, loved the pillows too. Compared to other Best Westerns this one is at the top. Easy to locate and close to the trolley depot.

Lovely clean room with 2 queen size beds that were really very comfortable & the pillows were amazing. Plenty of towels and complimentary shampoos and conditioners. The bathroom was very clean. Microwave, fridge,coffee making machine, ironing board, iron and hairdryer, what more could you ask for!! The breakfast was really nice, there was a good selection including hot omlettes and sausage links, cereals, muffins, hot coffee, tea hot chocolate. I know we would never stay here again but the 2 nights/days we were holed up were very comfortable.

Clean room and super convenient parking spots right in front of rooms. Great location to the historic sights. Checkin was easy and staff was friendly. There's a pool, hot tub and complimentary breakfast.

THe room smelled like raw sewage. THe bed was lumpy, and the room didn't have an extra blanket and I was freezing. Overall I used 40,000 points and paid $50 out of pocket and this hotel was the worst place I ever stayed in my life. I will never go back and asa VIP Elite of best wester I am horrified with my experience. Never again!!!!

Pros: Location to St. Augustine Trolley Tour was great. Very clean room. Breakfast was OK. Cons: Having to carry bags up the stairs, no elevator. Train noise. Finding an open parking spot, which you pay extra for.

before you book here, add $10 to your consideration for parking. You could have had a better hotel if you knew they were going to slap on another $10. Somehow my $107 room ended up $130+. Surprise. charges are a way of telling the customer you are being nickle and dimed. no one like a scam and it appears so.

Hotel is a long, long walk from historical area. We used to choose this hotel because of free parking as opposed to paying $20 in the historical area. However this hotel now charges for parking, and when we go to the historical area we take an Uber. This makes the parking fee harder to accept. Consider staying closer to the historical area if you would like to walk and not worry about paying for transportation or having to find a parking space.

Nice clean room but small but updated. Staff was was polite and friendly.. they had a good breakfast. was not convenient to any family restaurants. Ice maker to noises.. I would not ever go back to St. Augustine on memorial day and school summer vacation..

It's decent. Nothing particularly deal-breaking. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. There's a fridge and microwave. The internet is fine (but then I asked for a room with good wifi, so maybe that makes a difference). Breakfast was on the skimpy side, but it'll hold you over. Pool was there but didn't look inviting. Not really close enough to the historical center or the beach without driving. OTOH, parking isn't free anymore. When I booked, I read free parking, but they said they changed it about a month before, and they wouldn't relent.

Very unfriendly desk people, I had driven over 700 miles that day, obviously looking rough and red eyed. They made it seem like they were doing me a favor by letting me get a room. I was there to put my late wife's ashes down on her favorite beach. 170$ wow thanks!

Convenient location, easily walkable to Historic St. Augustine or to the trolley depot and other attractions. Rooms are clean, parking lot is safe, staff is helpful, informative and super friendly. Perfect weekend away

My only problem was with the parking fee. I had read on the website that it was free but I was charged $10 per night. I did not detect the fee charged until after I had left. I was surprised to see it.

Location is far removed from restaurants & shopping. Map location was misleading. It appeared to be across from the fort, but it was miles away. Room was damp and smelled musty. Breakfast hour ended at 9:00. Who wants to enjoy yourself in the evening with late hours then have to be up before 9:00 for breakfast? Original reservation said, "free public parking", but we were charged $10 per day. Not coming back here.

The Best Western Historical Inn in St. Augustine is America's oldest permanent Spanish settlement. The hotel was reasonably priced, close to downtown without being downtown, and the reviews were good. Parking costs are reasonable at $10 a day, but you do have to purchase a parking pass. The hotel staff was professional and very helpful. The Best Western Historical Inn has many amenities, including a pool, hot tub, breakfast, and wifi. The room includes two queen beds, an armchair, a desk with a chair, a TV cabinet that houses the mini-fridge, a microwave, three drawers, a large flat-screen TV, a nightstand between the beds, a/c/heat by the window, a shower with a rain head, and a toilet with flush options. Breakfast at the Best Western Historical Inn was the highlight of my stay and I started each day with a full belly. The location was great, within walking distance of downtown, the staff was friendly, and our room was adequate. The hotel does offer guest laundry, which was located on the lower level between the two buildings.

Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous, room was clean, bathroom a bit small, Location was close to everything but not really walking distance. Would stay again and would recommend this hotel. Did not try the breakfast bar.

Thin walls so when a motocycle pulled in at 1:30 in the morning, it woke all of us up. Bathroom needs a deep clean, hairs in shower upon our arrival and grout was dirty. Room was a good size and beds were comfortable. Historical area was further away than we thought.

Unless you want to hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the room next to you, ask for your room NOT to be adjoin to another room. The breakfast and staff were very nice and accommodating once we moved our room, after spending a night from hell. I thought the sleeping man in the next room was in our room. It was awful to hear him snoring. The next room was quieter, but a clogged toilet spoiled the next morning. Husband saw blood from a cut on the top of his sheet, not his.

The rooms are spacious, the amenities are great with a nice sized mini fridge, a microwave, free Internet, iron and ironing board, and blow dryer. The room and bathroom were clean, the rain shower head is very nice and great that there is a bathtub. The only minor issues with the bathroom are that the lighting isn't very bright although that may just be a matter of preference, and the toilet has an odd button flusher on top of tank which was a little hard to push. The breakfast has a nice variety of items but the hot foods weren't hot. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the breakfast area to warm up the food. I was pleasantly surprised to see almond milk provided along with regular milk. There is always a staff member there doing refills, cleaning etc. and they provide disposable plastic gloves if you want to wear them for sanitary reasons. Coffee and tea is available all day. This is a motel, not hotel, and you can hear the road traffic so sleeping the first night was tough until getting used to the noise. There is also a train track across the road and you can hear the trains. As far as location, my husband and I are in our 60's and did walk to downtown, walked around there and then back the first day, which was at least 5 miles or more. The walk to downtown is a mile or so. So, if you like to walk and are in shape to do so, it is doable so then you don't have to take your car and find parking or pay for a tram. Not sure I would do that again though as there is a tram you can get for $5 per person each way. The Oldest Jail and Oldest Store are definitely within walking distance. We were scheduled for 5 nights but only stayed 3 as bad weather was on the way so we left early. I would stay here again in the future.

My young son and I spent one night here. The property was conveniently located within walking distance to all popular sites. The hotel was safe, and clean. There is a small pool and hot tub, and the room was nicely updated. A good value with a free breakfast. The only negative was the bed was not comfortable and the air conditioning was noisy.

Hotel seemed to be really clean and apparently has been recently remodeled. I love the fact that it does not have carpet in the rooms. Many hotels are going to LVP flooring and it s much better option than carpet due to the ease of a thorough cleaning. Comfortable beds as well.

Location was very convenient. parking was limited. if you arrive late at night at the hotel, there will be no parking spaces available. If you are looking for just a bed and shower, then this is your hotel. Do not expect anything fancy. you get what you pay for.

Our room had an adjoining room door and we could hear everything from the neighbors side. Fortunately, that was only one night as those guests must have left. There is a busy road on both sides which makes it convenient for driving around, but not for the noise level. Breakfast was decent, but there were not any prepacked grab and go options and only one waffle maker, so it took a little more time for breakfast than some hotels. Not a lot of seating for breakfast. Had to wait for a table and a little cramped so not very COVID safe if that is a concern. Hot tub had a health department sign saying it was closed due to non-compliance and the pool is NOT heated so it was way too cold. The pool is right next to the road too, so not a nice atmosphere. Best to act like this hotel does not have a pool. Our kids were disappointed. The room was fantastic, very clean and newly remodeled. Pillows were great.

We are Best Western Elite members so we have experience with the chain and how most are maintained. This was the third and final stay on our move from NY to Florida. The 2 shower heads were cheap quality plastic. One didn't work at all and the other had very bad pressure. The shower drain had a lump of hair in it. We checked in with a medium sized pet (40 lb English Springer Spaniel). The pet are is small and next to an open top dumpster. Seems the hotel next door is doing renovations at the time of this review. Be aware of nails and sharp debris!

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. The location is great. It's right across from the Castillo De San Marcos Fort and the bay. Everything is in walking distance including some great restaurants. Don't expect luxury at this place. It's not ostentatious. The rooms are small, but we only slept there anyway. But the hotel was remodeled in a modern look and the rooms are clean. There is a wide screen TV, small refrigerator, microwave. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful. If you don't want to spend for breakfast, they would provide a water, apple and muffin each day so that you could eat and run and then maybe stop for lunch. Parking is a challenge as there aren't enough regular spots for cars - cars are parked all over the place AND be aware that you have to add $18.00/day to the cost of the room as they charge you to self-park your car. While I didn't like that, it was still a reasonable alternative given its proximity. I recommend this hotel if you are not into a hotel with concierge, dining, indoor pools and other fancy accomodations.

This is lovely hotel with great staff. The grounds are immaculate kept and the rooms are updated. Our daughter will be attending Flagler College and we will be using this as our go to hotel. This place is great hotel for the price!

Out of the city center. Rated in the third position compared to other WB. We stayed for overnight, but it was enough for us. The guest washing machine was broken and we were directed to use the facilities in the next-door hotel.

Last time we visited St Augustine, we stayed at the BW Bayfront, which is right in the historic district. It is a nice place and located in a great location, but the price was steep and you you also pay for parking there. It would have been close to $300 for the night we would be there. So looking around I came across this BW which had good reviews, the price was $134 and parking was free. It was about a mile from the historic district, but we like to walk and there is a shuttle service if we decided we wanted a right($5pp each way). We could, of course, drove down but parking is a hassle in the historic district. We walked without any issues. As far as the hotel itself, I would stay again in a heartbeat. The entire property was very clean and well maintained. Rooms were comfy and tastefully done. The breakfast area was very nice, kept very clean and the food was good. The lady over seeing the area did a walk through about every 10-15 minutes keeping things tidy and well stocked. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. There are some restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk as well. We walked down to Borrillo's Pizza and Wine Garden on San Marcos and it was delicious! Best pizza we've had in a long time. The place also had an outside dining area with live music and a bar. We stopped the next day for lunch out the way out of town as well. Could not find one thing to complain about with this hotel.

Love that these hotels have always accepted pets. Room was updated. No carpet is great since I am allergic. Shower instead of bathtub is great for us. Free WIFI and Free Breakfast is BIG PLUS. Great location !

This hotel is a great value. It was a little too far out of the historic district to walk, but there is a shuttle service that costs only $5 per person and drops you off where ever you want to go. James at the front desk is phenomenal. He is friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff is also friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to see St. Augustine but don't want to spend the high prices of being in the main fare.

We have stayed at this Best Western to attend the Night of lights for the past 5 years and it has always been excellent. It was just a short walk to get on the Tram for the tours. We will definitely be back again next year.

No where near the historic district, very misleading . We had roaches in the bathroom. They did not give enough towels ,.Breakfast was great both days we were there.front desk staff was very friendly and professional.

We only were able to go to St Augustine for one night to see the lights and walk St George street. This BW was perfectly fine for an overnight stay,clean,nice walk to St George Street (approx 1 mile)the breakfast room is smaller than most BW hotels but clean and plenty of choices.We would stay here again.

Checking in and checking out staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area which was helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and fresh yogurt was a nice surprise. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

We were looking for a nice and clean hotel for a couple nights while we visited around St. Augustine. This wasnt in the historic district but right on the edge. It was close to everything. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. My son enjoyed the free breakfast. My husband and I opted for local spots to eat. The price was right and I really liked that tue rooms had vinyl flooring instead of carpet. I dont often leave reviews but I do on hotels bc i read reviews to decide if its a place i would like to stay. This was definetly nice and right in our price range. Will definetly stay again.

Staying at Best Western is a MUST! We loved their hot breakfast options and the yogurt bar was awesome. The staff was extremely attentive and always greeted us with a smile every morning for breakfast. A great way to start your day....at Best Western!

Nice room and helpful staff. This hotel is a convenient drive to downtown attractions. I stress drive as we considered walking but it turned out not to be a great idea. It was great that the tour trolley tour had a shuttle service from this hotel and we could purchase tickets from the property.

This is a decent hotel but a bit noisy since it is right on Highway 1. They advertised a hot tub which we were looking forward to after a very long drive but the health department had shut it down. The first night (Thursday) was reasonably priced but the second night price was double and the room was not worth that price.

This place needs serious repair. Our room had a ton of issues and the front desk staff didn't seem to care. The “included breakfast” consisted of frozen bagged scrambled eggs, microwaved potatoes, cereal, waffles you can't make yourself and cold coffee. Felt unsafe in the room since the door seals were so bad we could see outside with the door closed. Hot tub was broken the entire stay, broken toilet seat, hair all over the shower, and broken flooring around the room. This is really a shame because so much of this could be corrected, simply, if they cared.

Great place to stay, great location! I was there on business and spent that evening enjoying St Augustine. I was very happy with the ammenities and the location of the Hotel and would recomend this Hotel to everyone!

This hotel is by far my favorite place to stay when visiting in St. Augustine . The staff is so courteous and accommodating. They seem like they would do anything it takes. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

This Hotel is easy access to all of St. Augustine's historic downtown. It offers a pleasant, clean stay; comfortable bed and good internet access. It is great to be able to have a full breakfast with good coffee to boot!

Nice Place. We stayed for 3 nights. Monday - Wednesday nights. Always found a parking space at night. Hotel is two floors and we stayed on the 2nd floor. Went up the staircase...all good. Breakfast was good when they had egg and cheese ommelettes and bacon. Scrambled eggs weren't as good. Plenty of cereals and breads. Tight eating quarters, so we ate early and quick to avoid any crowds. Plenty of plastic gloves were available for use. Room was nice, mattress could have been a bit more comfortable. Room was quiet and dark (a good thing). Bathroom was fine. Tile floors throughout the room. Pet fee is $50 per, we did not have a pet. The hotel is not exactly walking distance to any of the attractions. But this BW was cheaper than the location across from the fort and the parking here is free. I think parking is $20 a day at the fort location. We didn't need any maid service and got another towel when we needed one. Facility is non-smoking and we didn't smell any cigarettes...which we can't stand. Hotel was very quiet, which we love. It all worked out very well for us. We had a real nice time in St. A.

Not as close to historical St. Augustine as I had thought. But it probably was the best choice - not as congested, easier parking, easy to get in and out of. Front desk service was great, a little lacking on the breakfast buffet (lukewarm at best).

I was very impressed with the GREAT Customer Service my family and I received when we traveled to St. Augustine from Julia Johnson. In today's world it is harder and harder to find people who will go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. I just wanted to pass this along even though this is a late review. Julia my family and I appreciate you helping us out on our trip and giving us great information for sight seeing. I wish there were more people who took pride in their work like you. Thanks you...ej

We stayed at the Best Western St. Augustine and had 2 rooms. Both were very nice, clean and comfortable. The price was good and the hotel was on a par with more expensive hotel rooms. It has been renovated and is well kept. Staff in the front office were helpful and told us about a shuttle that would take part of our party to see the town, since we only had one vehicle. They ended up taking a town trolley tour and seeing Ripley's that evening, then walked back to the hotel which was close enough.

A good employee sets the expectations for your stay. Our checkin by the delightful Sherita was only added on by clean room,large bath and updated decor. Off the main drag but across from the Trolley and worth the savings. Everything was excellent

Super clean and super comfy. A bit far from the actual historic district if you prefer to just leave your car and walk, but we were able to take the trolley into town. The trolley only runs till 5:00 so we did have to walk back in the evening. It was a hike, but it was doable. Nicholas at the front desk was awesome!

Great location but the absolute worst bed I have ever slept in. Really felt like I was sleeping on a board. Others in my group said the same thing, unsolicited. Very small hotel but it does have a nice pool and across the street is the harbor so a nice morning walk. Extra shampoo etc in the room was nice

As soon as we walking into the room and tried to use the bathroom, found that the toilet didn't work. Maintenance came and got it working, but said he couldn't get it completely repaired until the next week. I'm guessing it was because it was a holiday weekend. He then showed us how to fix it should the problem happen again, which it did a couple more times. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job. They are still only doing Grab and Go breakfast. Finding a spot in the parking lot can be an issue. All the attractions in the historic district are within a very short drive.

Check in was excellent. Got the member bag with water and a coupon book. The coupon book had expired deals! They need current coupon books. I didnt like paying $50 bucks for my small dog. This is a total rip off!! Next time in St. Augustine, Florida, I'm going to go to a hotel/motel that does not have a pet fee.

The hotel is in a good location, nice on the outside. But my room had a heavy moldy smell. other parts of hotel also. Would not recommend for the price.The breakfest was a joke. a Goody bag water muffin and a orange.

Room was very clean and updated! Nice amenities in the room. Close to downtown area and all the restaurants. We stopped through on our way home form Florida and it was perfect! We will definitely be back!

The staff was professional and polite. Warmly welcoming. Rooms were neat and clean. Location was great! It made going to the various fun things really easy. We will be back! More to see the next time!

Cleanest motel room we have ever stayed in! Our room had been renovated with vinyl flooring and really nice bathroom. Will stay again when back in town. Suggestion to management is to add some extras to the free breakfast like yogart, bananas, apples, for a more healthy selection.

I liked this hotel a lot, it was clean, comfortable and convenient. Excellent staff, all of whom went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms are a little on the small side and as with many hotels, the walls are thin. I found the bed to be hard, a mattress topper option would have been welcome. But, overall, this was an excellent place that I would be happy to recommend and stay at again.

Didn't know it can get this despicable. Check in was a nightmare because the front desk person was rude and unprofessional. The room was not clean full of garbage and blood stains. The view outside the room was of a pile of trash and the pee smell and stains outside of the room were an additional bonus. Charged us $609 for two nights and refused to clean out room or move us to a one that is actually habitable. Truly nasty and disgusting.

My sister and I stayed in Suite 302 at this Best Western. The suite exceeded our expectations. The living room, dining room, kitchen and two bedrooms were perfect for the two of us, but could have easily housed a small family or two couples. The accommodations were updated. Everything looked new and clean. Bathroom was very modern & the kitchen was well stocked with silverware, pans, dishes and glasses, even a dishwasher! The staff was friendly and helpful. FYI - the suite is on the second floor and there is no elevator, but the pluses definitely outweighed the few stairs!

Very nice property. Very clean and well maintained. Rooms are accessed from the outside. Parking easy and plentiful. Pool was clean. Staff pleasant and helpful. Refrig and microwave. Bed comfy with awesome linens. Seems like it was recently updated, but not sure. Breakfast was adequate. A little far from the actual historical district but a manageable walk. (or drive but then try to find a place to park - ugh). Close to plenty of restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Reasonably priced especially compared to other lodging choices.

2nd stay in St Augustine and came back to Best Western Historical Inn. This will be the only hotel i will stay at in St Augustine . The staff is always helpful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The hotel is about a mile from down town but only a few blocks from the Old Jail which is the first stop of the Old TownTrolley tour. Will be back again.

We had a great time staying at BW Historical Inn. Front desk was very helpful and nice. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is close to the historic district. Since parking can be challenging there, we left our car at the hotel and walked to all the attractions.

The staff was very kind. The room was fresh & clean. The amenities were useful & good. I would definitely go back again and even recommend this place to everyone. The parking lot is shared with the neighboring hotel but there were plenty of spots to park in.

This Best Western is located a nice 20 minute walk from downtown. The grounds are attractive and all the staff we had contact with were very professional, efficient and courteous. Room was nice. They do currently offer a basic grab and go breakfast.

We recently booked this room for the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine. The hotel was within walking distance to downtown. Great value for the location considering our last minute decision to book it. The hotel appears to have been updated. Staff were friendly and courteous. We had an upstairs room. We didn't see an elevator so we did have to carry our luggage upstairs. The walls to the room room were paper thin which means we could hear everything going on in the room next door. I'm a hard sleeper so I didn't hear much of what went on until the next morning. Apparently we had some noisy neighbors because my son (who is 9) said to me the next morning that he heard the man say “oh yeah baby!” My husband proceeds to tell me (out of earshot of our son) that he had to turn the volume up on the tv to drown out the moaning and loud noises coming from the woman next door (I'll let you use your imagination). That's the main reason for the low star rating.

I choice this Best Western because of its value. Parked, checked in, then walked over to the old jail then down to the fort. It's much easier to get around walking then struggling to find parking especially around the holidays. Will definitely do it again.

This Best Western has great staff that shows compassion. They really show that they care about their guests and love what they do. They recently upgraded their bathrooms which are beautiful with sliding glass shower doors. I will be back. Also only a mile to St. George street Downtown. Great Location for sure.

The staffs who work are absolutely amazing. But their managers seem too aloof and higher up to even cater to guests' needs. Location could not be better. Staffs are fantastic. Sleep quality also great.

I have traveled alot during Covid and this motel has been so disappointing there are safe ways to offer guests a hot breakfast yet this one offers only a cheap water and granola bar. I paid through a third party and yet they kept my credit card info on file and I found this to be an invasion of my privacy and while they said they would remove it the manager was more interested in arguing about why he did not have to... Not to mention sleep is nothing you will get with the level of noise outside your door with the passing by off traffic from the second the sun rises....

I chose to stay at this Best Western because it was a better value than staying up the road. It was less than 2 miles from the old jail and it's a good place to start. Parking is good, room is good sized. Pool is open til 10 pm.

The room was very nice. The beds were soft and the bathroom was updated. We had 2 adults and 2 children and it didn't feel cramped at all. The location was perfect. You were within walking distance of everything. Parking was a little hard due to the fact you share it with the hotel next door. The front desk staff was awesome.

My wife and I were wondering about where must we hot a short break. We decided to go to the Best Western historical Inn. I always go to this Best Western Historical Inn. The people that work there are not just workers but they are a family, even when it comes to a visitor assistance on anything. They are very thoughtful and will do anything for guests. You need to go there and enjoy yourself.

We originally planned to stay at a hotel closer to the fort, but it was more than double the price. We feel we got great value for the price of this room in comparison, and it was clear that it has been recently updated. We received a nice note upon check-in and helpful suggestions for exploring the area. The beds were decent though a little on the stiff side. Less than a half mile from the start of the hop on/off trolley tour, which is a highly recommended experience. Had everything we needed and convenient to get to restaurants and shopping.

Great place to stay! The staff was super kind and helped us with everything we needed. It was our anniversary and they even surprised us with a gift and handwritten card in our room. Because of an unexpected issue we needed to extend our stay and even though they were fully booked they made it work for us and we were forever grateful, the rooms are clean and well maintained and it's not to far from the historic district. We will definitely be staying here when we visit again.

We spent 3 nights at the Best Western Historical Inn in St. Augustine Florida. It was a great experience. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to the trolley tours. They will even pick you up if you wish. Found a lovely place to dine just a few blocks away The staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient.

This was our second visit to St Augustine. Last time we stayed out near the freeway which was good but meant travelling in each day and parking which in St Augustine is not always easy. Staying at the Best Western Historical we were able to walk 5-10 minutes down to the Rd Train base, do the tour, then at the end of the day walk back to our hotel. The room was plenty large enough for us three, the beds were comfortable. I would recommend this property.

We stayed here 3 very pleasant nights. The room was roomy especially as there were three of us travelling together. It was lovely and clean, fast internet, microwave, beautiful breakfast the tables and chairs were all upgraded on our third day. Very nice too

We just stayed here during bike week with our club. It could not have have been better. Rooms and services were outstanding. Only negative, parking can be tight but room next door. Thanks for a great stay.

HVAC unit was too loud. Compressor and fan very loud all knight. After a poor nights sleep when I went to shave and shower no hot water. Reported to desk, no action was taken at that time. At check out is was told manager would not be in for 40 min. and that my bill wold be left open in case manager wanted to make an adjustment to bill. No adjustment was made no contact from management.

This property was excellent. The room was so clean, comfortable and beautiful that I could have extended my stay! Breakfast was delicious, the room and food area was clean, and an attendant was there to help if needed.

This is our second stay at this hotel. It was clean and fresh and the staff were very pleasant. The historical inn is very close to old St. Augustine and all the great attractions it offers. We will stay here again in the future!

The staff here is amazing! I checked in around shortly after 1pm on 2/22/20 and the front desk staff was so very helpful with giving me ideas of places to visit and took the time to ask what my interest were, they really wanted my partner and I to enjoy their beautiful town. The room was very nice and very clean. The housekeeping was also very friendly as well, especially a lady named Terry, she went out of her way to help me with something and I was so grateful. We enjoyed 2 nights here in this tastefully renovated and modernised 2 storey hotel, which is an easy 20 minute walk to the historic centre. Easy to find on the main road out of town, it had a large free car park and good size rooms. We had a ground floor room , with 2 huge beds and a super bathroom with modern shower and lovely decor. The hotel also has a guest laundry, self service, handy for travellers like us, and a decent breakfast.

Overcharged for the room. It is a huge pain trying to get my account adjusted to the proper amount. After communicating with management, my bank and customer service, still nothing is resolved. The hotel is holding the funds and will not release it until after I'm back in NYC, where I'm from. My bank requested a release letter from the hotel to be sent to my bank. The hotel manager sent a long winded email to my bank. It did not mention the transaction at all! This ruined my vacation and honeymoon! The money owed to me I was going to use for Valentine's day/ honeymoon. I do understand that sometimes people are lazy and don't check what rate I'm supposed to have. That happens from time to time. I always get refunded asap, even get a free night. So I don't mind. But to overcharge then not rectify it, but instead provide improper information to my bank is very suspicious.

The staff is great. We were greeted by a very professional and friendly young man as we walked in. The beds were heavenly after a full day of activity. The room was immaculately clean. Excellent Wi-Fi, convenient to several restaurants. The value for the room was excellent.

Went here based on a friend's recommendation and was extremely disappointed. Had reservations for 2 nights and left after one to go the DoubleTree great decision. The Best Western was ugly, had no lighting, felt dirty. Had no redeeming features at all. Best part of breakfast was the packaged muffins. Do not stay here.

Clean, around 20mins walking to historic downtown, clean n good breakfest. Rooms are big, update,beds are comfortable but they r a lil pricey but worth it....they are pet friendly won't charge u crazy fees for ur baby dog that's a plus.

Good location. Great breakfast. Wonderful beds! Room could have used a little tlc but nothing that made the stay unacceptable. My main complaint is that I called shortly after we checked out to let them know I had left my phone charger in the room. When asked what they wanted me to do with it I told them I would stop on my way out of town to pick it up. When I got there Around 5 I was told no one had turned it in. In other words the person that cleaned our room kept it. Someone should have gone to the room when I called to retrieve it.

My sister and I went on an overnight trip to St Augustine Jan 15-16, 2020. The staff were friendly. The room was as described. The pool was clean and lovely. Breakfast was the usual fare. We thought “Historical” related to where the hotel was located , but it was nowhere close to anything on foot. You could buy tickets at the hotel to ride the Old Town Trolley and a shuttle would take you to the meeting place. When we arrived we could not come in the front entrance due to extensive construction work going on in the parking area. This was quite a shock, certainly not mentioned when we booked. This constant noise began each morning at 8 am and continued all day right outside all guest rooms. We did spend an hour at the lovely pool with the racket going on continuously. Also the hotel is right on a busy road, so we could enjoy the road noise, too. As we were only overnight, we did not leave the hotel, but would never have stayed there otherwise and will never return. No one made any attempt to offer any compensation for this debacle. I told the desk that I hoped people calling to book there were being told about the construction. They did not answer me. Anyway, that is my sad but truthful review of what might have been a nice experience.

We went up for an overnighter to see Nights of Lights and experience the magic of St. Augustine. The room was nice and it looked like it was refurbished within the last 2-3 years. The Lobby was very nice and warm. We did have to drive to the Historic District, but we didn't mind since it was a very short drive and no big deal at all. Here's the down side. We found some kind of brown funk on the shower wall, on the curtain and on the back of the door. When we showed the gentleman at the front desk, he really couldn't have cared less. His general reaction can be best described as “oh really? Well that must have sucked for ya. Oh well”. The breakfast was very average and the eggs didn't have much taste. The biggest concern was the serving spoons used for the eggs, potatoes, and corn beef hash, had all been crossed used so they all had egg, hash, and potato on each spoon. Being a person with food allergies, this is a major concern to me. I pointed it out to one of the staff, and they did nothing to correct this. They just left the spoons there. To someone with food allergies, cross contamination is a very serious concern. I don't know if we will stay there again. If we do, we will definitely eat out for breakfast or bring our own.

I highly recommend this hotel,it is spacious rooms that come with good beds.They also include renovated bathrooms and kind staff,the breakfast is delicious and variety.The hotel it is a littler far by walking of the city ,my challenge is parking that cost $ 15 for everyday which gives you time to see many attractions.I suggest riding the Old TROLLER which it is a few blocks from the hotel in my opinion it is the fastest way to see the important points of the town if you are traveling for a few days .

The Best Western Historical is an excellent place to stay. The hotel has an excellent staff both front office, breakfast nook, and housekeeping. The rooms are clean, and well maintained. The rates are competitive for the area. It is close to the historic district and the trams. my wife & I love staying there.

Booked a night with my friend and partner at this Best Western since it was located near most of the attractions in St. Augustine. When we arrived it was a bit confusing since they share a parking lot with the Hilton so we accidentally went to the Hilton to check-in. The rooms were surprisingly nice considering how much we paid for the room. Some parts of the bedding were weird and our rooms side lamp didn't work due to the outlet not working on a specific part of the room. Pretty basic and nothing terribly notable. The Best Western was definitely close to the Old Jail by car (7min car ride), walking there isn't the worst but can be a bit dangerous due to the traffic and generally Florida drivers. Overall it wasn't bad and if you get a deal, why not.

First of all we picked it for convenience which it was... Front desk very rude, parking insufficient, shower was pathetic, no breakfast but coffee was fine, all of the bad review would have been overlooked if they had not been rude... Will not stay again definitely overpriced for a very small room

Good location outside the crowded downtown. Uber picks up here, and lyft. Decorated cute for the holidays. Front desk staff has been nice and helpful for things in the area. The problem we had is strictly related to our shower and noise. You can hear everything in the room next to you, or above you, paper thin walls. Thankfully a man upstairs at 2am yelled at the loud people do go to sleep. We also had no hot water or pressure to even take a shower. We were excited about the two shower heads and newly updated bathroom. Unfortunately it was just for looks. We went to the desk to see what they could do to get hot water and water pressure. The immediately offered to come to our room with maintenance. Whatever they did, did not help. We called the front desk after a day out, giving them plenty of time, and nothing was better. The lady said she's alone and there is nothing she can do besides points or a discount until tomorrow. Well we check out tomorrow. We just want hot water and pressure. If we would have showered the day we checked in we would have left to stay someplace else. Almost $200 a night and can't get a hot shower with water pressure. Disappointing as a best western rewards member and as a paying customer. It's a small quaint place, the hotel should be able to have hot showers with pressure for all customers in every room.

20 min walk or 5 min drive to main historic st augustin . Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and roomy. Staff overall friendly. Britney was super helpful. Parking lot space was very small though...

This hotel is very clean and just a short 20 minute walk to the historical district of town. The rooms are updated, the bathroom is well stocked with soaps, lotions, shampoos, etc. We would stay there again and recommend it for anyone visiting St. Augustine.

Hotel was very clean and everyone there we encountered was exceptionally nice. Rooms were redone beautifully. The Woman that checked us in was very helpful and helped us with getting a taxi for the Light viewing down town. We were running behind and would have been late if not for her. Breakfast left alot to be desired but I think this is a great place to stay.

Found hotel via TripAdvisor and booked through link to Booking.com. Asked in advance about early check in and received email 'from' hotel via Booking stating that was likely not possible. Fine. Arrived at about 4pm the day of our stay and was told they had NO record of my booking. Um.... Here's a printout from Booking.com. "Nope, Booking must have never sent it over". "But here's a copy of your response to my question". "That is probably just computer generated". They found me a room and honored the rate, but what if they had been full. That might have been the end of it. However, I got to my room and check my email and, lo and behold, there was an email 'from' the hotel via Booking.com from that very morning, Stating, paraphrasing, " Hi, I am the Manager AND GAVE HER NAME and we look forward to your staying with us today." What kind of computer at booking.com generates letters knowing the exact GM name??? Not buying the BW story. Again, what if they were full????

Excellent location to stay while visiting St Augustine historic district. Awesome n courteous staff, amazing full breakfast selections. However, 20-30 minutes walk to the historic district which we did the first day. Going on car is an issue with parking and mostly all parkings locations are paid by hour from Monday thru Saturday, 8am to 5pm.

We stayed 2 nights at the BW Historic District Hotel. This is a two story, older type hotel but has been refurbished. The Spanish style fits right in with the Historic aspect of St. Augustine. Our room was very clean and no noise from neighboring rooms. Very quiet. The Breakfast area and lobby very nice, clean, with friendly people both at the breakfast area and the front desk. Breakfast was the usual, dependable BW breakfast, with the range from cereal, boiled eggs, toast, eggs, bacon, pancakes. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel. Best Western does not disappoint. I would like to give a shout out to Charlene, our housekeeper. We put her off her schedule a bit due to timing but she was great about it and did a great job on our room. Parking was great on the first level as we were right in front of our room. Excellent parking available on the site.

Stayed one night and was very impressed with the hotel grounds, lobby and front desk personnel. Our room was a good size, nicely decorated with lots of bathroom amenities, comfortable bedding and a modern bathroom. The only issue was the noise from the room next door. The folks were not loud but the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything the couple was saying and, they weren't being loud. Maybe the noise was a result of the fact that our room and theirs can be adjoining when required. Needless to say, neither my husband nor I had a good night's rest. Hotel is a great location, free parking with easy in and out access. Complimentary WiFi too. When checking out, I did mention to the clerk about the noise. She apologized but she has no control over it. I agreed.

I had a very nice room. Check in was fast even though I was early and was able to get a first floor room. Even though the hotel is just off a major road it was quiet. It is also nice that it has a spa. The guest laundry had good equipment and reasonably priced. The hotel is within walking distance of one of the trolley tours. It is just a little too far to walk to many of the tourist attractions. Breakfast bar had fresh scrambled eggs and plenty of room to sit.

We came to St. Augustine to see the town, this best western made a nice place to stay and rest. The hotel associate helped us sign up for the red bus to tour the town. We did not have any problems while we were there.

We have been to this property before and have always had a good experience. The location is just out of the busy down town area yet easy walk to attractions. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We will surely revisit...

We were on a family trip over fall break. Saint Augustine is a wonderful city to visit, with so much to see and do. This hotel was reasonably priced and very conveniently located. It is just a short drive from the fort, the historic district is literally just down the street, and other commodities are nearby. One unfavorable thing is that it is kind of crammed in between other hotels and businesses. That, however, is not unusual for St. Augustine and is just something the traveler must expect, especially if you want to be close to the sights. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, the breakfast was delicious, and we are happy that we stayed there.

The reason why I did not rate this 5 stars, is because of the breakfast. It is free. BUT, it limited fresh fruit options. Most of the fruit was canned. And they ran out of soy milk. I don't drink regular milk. And the oatmeal was not prepared fresh. It was in packets with a lot of sugar. Other than that, excellent location, very clean, and the staff was outstanding. Super nice and accommodating. Rooms were very nicely updated with wood floors.

On a recent road trip, my wife and I were looking for a place to stay on the way to the Kennedy Space Center. This hotel came up in our searches, and we thought staying a night in St. Augustine near the old town sounded like a neat idea. We definitely enjoyed our evening in old town, and this motel was very conveniently located. The rooms were very nice for the price we got, and we were able to get out pretty quickly the next morning.

Everything was spotless. The property was recently renovated. Everything worked! Great shower heads, clean rooms, nice breakfast, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bonus:: right near downtown St. Augustine

We were supposed to stay and dine in St Augustine Beach, but the whole island had a blackout. We came back over the bridge and pulled into BW. They are in the process of total renovation. Everything in our room was new. An awesome fully tiled bathroom. What a pleasant surprise. The innkeeper could not have been nicer and even recommended an awesome pub for dinner. The reason for only a four was that the water in the shower was not hot enough.

Great time!!! We really enjoyed our stay! When on the road again we will be looking at Best Westerns for our vacations. We really enjoyed the pool and thier breakfast. They had alot of food in the lay out. The pool was clean and inviting.

Room 120 bed bugs sister in law bitten badly. We reserved 5 rooms for 3 days to attend a wedding. 4 rooms were ok. Room 120 that my sister in law stayed in had bed bugs and she had large red and yellow bites. Very bad breakfast.

Great stay at best western historical. Stayed in their suite.(2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and dining area) Very clean. Friendly staff. good prices. Definitely would stay here again,need more than one day to enjoy this city.

We stayed here one night. The room price was very reasonable, and the rooms looked newly updated. The best part was their free breakfast. They had everything from make your own waffles, fresh yogurt dispenser, and oatmeal dispenser with all the toppings, to omelets, and potatoes. They also kept the area very clean, and continously refilled anything that was low. Also the entire hotel staff were super friendly, and helpful.

Enjoyed our stay at this facility. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Everything in the room worked. Location is very close to the Old Town Trolley depot and the Fountain of Youth. If you are in town for the sites, this is a great location.

Very uncomfortable room layout. Constantly tripping over poorly-placed things. No room next to right side of bed. Noisy. Breakfast was awful. No place to sit! Nearly everybody had to eat standing up. Staff was nearly invisible, except when it was 5 minutes before end-time, when they removed food as quickly as possible (then disappeared again). Very limited parking. Had to drag luggage thru 2 lots, to car. Best thing about this "Worst Western" motel was that we only had to stay there one night!

The Historical BW was very clean, comfortable, quiet and in a good location for us. The manager and staff were very friendly, and though there was some maintenance work happening, the manager tried to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. We were able to catch a shuttle from the hotel to use the Old Town Trolley several days, with no added parking fees, which was an added bonus. Would definitely stay again.

Variety of good food for breakfast. Clean, cool rooms in the the heat of summer. Clean pool to swim in. Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in the area. In walking distance to the Ripley's Red Train tour and Old City Jail.

When we checked into the room, the smell of rotten fruit was the first thing that met my senses. I looked everywhere to try to find the source and eventually located a rotten apple core behind the tv stand/dresser. The front desk addressed this, and while there I suggested they might want to sweep or vacuum out the amount of dust behind there because you could have made a mattress out of it. The room overall was neat, but definitely not what I would consider clean. That night a slew of some type of bugs infested the room. when we turned on the light in the morning, the bugs were all over our beds, the night stand and the light. I made a movie to show the front desk. we would not stay our second night due to the fact that none of us could sleep in there with the bugs.

First of all the rooms have recently been redone and they are very nice. The grounds are nicely kept. The pool closes at dusk. Don't bring your service dog because you'll be punished. There is not enough parking and if you do find a spot. It has been reserved for an employee with an orange cone (apparently they have a lot of employees).

Rooms are average . There is a "take out" continental breakfast which includes an apple, a muffin and a water. There is take out coffee in the lobby. Be prepared to pay for parking. Cost is high due to location. The trolley stops right in front and is walking distance from the historical sites. You don't really need to use your car.

Check in was quick and friendly. The room was great! The staff always greeted us Good morning or asked how we were doing. The breakfast was very good with choices of hot and cold food. Checking out was quick and easy.

Hotel is easy to find, breakfast and parking are free and the staff were friendly and helpful at check in/out. It is a bit of a hike into central St Augustine so be prepared for that. Pretty good motel style hotel.

It's not in the heart of the historic downtown area but it's not a bad walk if the weather is good and a shuttle is readily available if you prefer to catch a ride into town. The room we stayed in was decent with your standard amenities. The air in the room was a bit stuffy and humid no matter how high we turned the air conditioner but that's to be expected with wall unit A/C's in a Florida climate. What impressed me about this hotel was the excellent service we received throughout our stay thanks to front desk manager, Brittany. My friend and I had various requests starting before we even arrived and Brittany was always graciously accommodating.

We stayed at this hotel for a long couples weekend and it was a great place to stay. Far enough from the main drag to keep the price affordable, but close enough that both the Red Train and Old Town Trolley will send their free shuttle to pick up or drop off so you can use their service. All the front desk staff was extremely nice and accommodating calling each day for the Train shuttle and finding us extra blankets for the room. The pool was nice and clean, and it looks like they are in the process of upgrading the pool furniture. We did not try the free breakfast, instead opting to try some of the local restaurants, but it looked like a nice setup with a small seating area (but provided trays so you could bring breakfast back to your room), and they provided cold lemonade for guests in the afternoon. We also found the pleasant surprise of 2 free electric vehicle charging stations for the hotel- 1 for Tesla's and 1 that was the standard port, however the hotel did not seem to enforce that they be left available for guests with electric vehicles. There were 2 occasions when we found non-electric vehicles parked in the electric vehicle parking spaces, 1 time we had access to the second spot and were able to charge, but the other night both spaces were occupied and we were unable to charge our car. This was very frustrating as those spots are visible from the front desk. Otherwise the hotel was a fantastic value and we would happily stay here in the future.

Our room was very nicely appointed with everything we needed and then some. Loved that they gave us a goodie bag on arrival with water and snacks. Breakfast was better than most with lots of hot offerings.

We went in mid May and did not expect the high temperatures for this part of the year. The Best Western was comfortable and clean but not close to town. The pool looked inviting but there was no shade. You are about three blocks from the hop on and hop off trolley.

I always try to avoid these "motel" style accommodations but this Best Western was actually very good. We selected a ground floor room and felt comfortable and safe. The other guests were respectfully quiet so we slept well. The rooms were adequate for us. The pool area is small, but that wasn't an issue for us as we were too busy visiting St Augustine itself! The breakfast included anything that you could wish for and whilst the seating area is small, we always got a table! Check in and out was swift and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Spent 2 nights, 2 days here with 3 kids, 2 adults. Rooms were clean and updated. Breakfast pretty decent with free coffee. Toiletries and coffee good. Beds and pillows comfortable. Worked out great location-wise for everything we did. Close to restaurants, historical attractions and some shopping. Very quiet during our stay. Small but was great for the price.

great stay, but had a problem with our room cleanlyness, there was hair in the bathroom when we arrived, so we let it go for the night and assumed the next day would get better with housekeeping which was not the case. we stayed three nights and each day housekeeping came in the less she did. we were not happy with our room cleaning at all and spoke to the manager on duty, which she was very understanding and helpful to this matter. she offered to changed rooms which we declined, so she gave us a discount on our stay which we were very pleased, other than that our stay here was excellent, great modern rooms, breakfast was awesome and staff was great. we will stay here again.

This motel is neither historic in its architecture or its age, nor is it close to the hustoric city centre. We had booked to stay for 3 nights and the room we were allocated (215) had almost no natural light. There are other rooms with the same problem. Worse we had the noisiest ice macine outside the door. Isn't it reasonable to expect to find that bed sheets had been ironed? That said, the staff were friendly and helpful. We would not stay there again.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast bar. Location reasonably convenient for touring - a few blocks from the tour trolley start (recommended), and a short drive to the visitor area. Price was appropriate for being a bit away from the action. All good, bot one curiosity- it is listed as pet friendly, but that will cost you $30 per pet per night PLUS a $75 non-refundable cleaning fee. I don't consider a $105 add on cost for one night as “pet-friendly,” but fortunately I left my dog at home.

Room was clean and looked freshly renovated. Bedding was great, would love to get the same sheets for home. Front desk employees were friendly and attentive and fast. Location was right next to downtown where all the fun is.

Not what we expected.Historic was synonomous with old. All cable channels were not subscribed to,and the room smelled like someone sprayed overpowering pinesall all over. Needed a trip to the liquor store to dull the experience. The breakfast was so disappointing we headed to Dennys.

Nicely kept drive in motel. Property is located on an old highway not far from the beach. Staff was friendly and efficient and rooms were updated and clean. Plenty of parking, would definitely stay there again.

A very pleasant surprise. The rooms were a good size and clean and kept well. The only thing that was a problem was the heating and air conditioning unit. It was difficult to adjust and get a consistent temperature. The staff were friendly, and the front desk staff were a font of information. Anything that we needed to know, they were able to answer, and their suggestions were on point.

The front desk managers were extremely helpful and friendly...the continental breakfast in the morning was delicious with a wide variety of food to eat. The room was very clean with coffee pot,lots of towels,soaps,large TV..large pool....easy access to do laundry. excellent place to stay.

Sometimes you just don't want to be in the middle of all the action in a city like St. Augustine. This location is within walking distance to the trolley and some attractions and just outside of the main busy area.

everything worked in the room, shower was strong and tall enough for my husband to stand under. The place was super clean. All the staff we came in contact with spoke to us. The breakfast was excellent and they had a variety on the hot bar!

Good location, especially if you go out the back entrance. Walking distance to some historical sights. Excellent breakfast with delicious home fires. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is that sometimes parking was an issue. They say there is a spot for everyone, but I'm not sure.

Very nice clean room with (as others mentioned) a great bed. Just the kind of place you need for a quiet night's bed. We liked this Best Western better that the bay-front one-less noise. If you come in late you may have some trouble getting a perking space. Staff were very accommodating on getting us a spot! A little restaurant called the Village In is just down the road (left as you exit-go right first to make u turn). Good for breakfast-friendly.

Our stay could not have been nicer. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Plus the coverlet was white which seems cleaner. The coffee was great! The towels were just average. The shower had a rainfall showerhead which was nice. The breakfast was good with a different meat and egg each day. They also offered gluten free upon request. We highly recommend this motel.

Very nice rooms that were clean and a couple short blocks to catch the trolley. Breakfast was okay. Cheese omelettes and bacon. Also had a waffle maker. Rooms opened to the outside, so it was more of a motel than hotel. Would stay there again.

this hotel doesn't look like much from the outside however once we got into a room and realize that have been recently renovated and very nice. The only thing I didn't appreciate was I was not told of a $15 parking charge prior to arrival. As far as I can tell it's not listing it any of their literature.

What a wonderful hotel. Super clean, modern and exceptional staff. We asked for a roll away when we arrived and almost before we could get to our room the were there making up the bed. The breakfast was delicious. Would stay there again without hesitation and would recommend to everyone. A+++

The motel appears to have been newly renovated. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The room was immaculate and the showerhead and water pressure were excellent. The breakfast was more than adequate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, our stay was better than expected and was a decent value for the price.

I have no problems about this hotel. When we lived in California. Every Thanksgiving we would go to the Alluabery Inn since both of our kids were gone we went there for 11 years. This hotel is our new destination for when we want to get away.

My wife and I specifically chose this Best Western Historical Hotel. It was located near the places we wanted to see. The room was immaculate and very nice. It was decorated really well. The beds were very comfortable and we slept quite well. Breakfast was hot and delicious with many choices available. There were not enough seats to eat and it was difficult to enjoy. The Trolley Tour came to the Hotel and brought us back. It was very informative with 23 stops.

Very easy to find. Check in process was quick and efficient. The gentleman at the desk was friendly and extremely helpful with directions. The room was nice. Our only issue was the couple in the room above us who were apparently drunk and argued for hours throwing the F Bomb. They left around 9:15 (when I should have actually called the police!) I didn't report it to the front desk until we checked out. We left early as they started right back up in the morning as soon as they woke up!! Unfortunately the girl at the desk did not offer a discount or anything but perhaps if I had called at night things may have been different. So, aside from noise, I would recommend staying here.Breakfast looked good but we didn't eat.I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who checked us in. He was so helpful!

We stayed here for two nights and were very pleased. We checked in around 5pm, super quick and easy and we were even given a nice gift bag with bottled water and some treats for being reward members. The rooms are all newly updated with plenty of room, storage and nice furniture. The bathroom was really spacious and the microwave and mini fridge are a nice addition. We were also pleasantly surprised with the more than generous breakfast each morning. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, waffles, fruit, muffins, all sorts of breads and bagels, juices, multiple types of milk, coffees, hot cocoa, lattes and teas. There was something there for everyone. The hotel is a very short drive from the historic area and I highly recommend. The only negative is that the parking lot is very small and we couldn't find a space a few times but we ended up parking at their sister hotel next door with no problems.

We spent a very enjoyable evening in St. Augustine at the BW. Rooms are large but a little surprising that the room was entered from the parking lot. It was very good value, a large room and linens were very good quality. Breakfast met our expectations. Location is a 25 minute walk to the downtown historic area.

The property was well kept and staff was pleasant and friendly. Parking could be a challenge when the hotel is full but it worked out while we were there. The breakfast area is too small but they are in the process of expanding it. The breakfast was decent and staff kept it clean and fresh. We had one negative experience in our room with the clothes rack. I had placed my camera bag (around 9 lbs.) on the shelf above the hanging clothes and while watching TV we heard a loud noise. One end of the rack had pulled out from the wall and my camera bag slid off the shelf onto the floor breaking a $700 lens. The rack was only held up to the wall by plastic anchors. I worked with the Manager to report the incident to their Corporate office.. He told me he could not guarantee anything but would submit it. I an awaiting their response.

This hotel is very nice, rooms have been updated- Staff were superb in assisting us in finding restaurants and tourist suggestions. Breakfast was good, eating area is a bit tight- but we made it work. If you are able to walk, this hotel is 1.3 miles from the main area of St. Augustine. We left vehicles at hotel and walked the first night and took the Red Train the next day. Hotel was very nicely decorated for Christmas and all the festivities. This hotel has two floors and does not have an elevator- would highly recommend this hotel, it is close enough but not in all the traffic of downtown St. Augustine.

This had to be the friendliest of all Best Westerns Hotels that I ever stayed at. So eager to assist their guests and extremely reasonable! We will definitely visit them again! We enjoyed the free breakfast and was able to stay full till suppertime...saving us even more money.

We stayed in the "Suite" on points.. It's quite large, two full bedrooms, kitchen, living AND dining room. Perfect for a family or group. The rooms are right above a busy street so it's a bit noisy. Not a plus for those of us who stay out late in St. Auggie. Other than that, a great location and wonderful staff.

This was more reasonable than trying to stay down town St Augustine, Hotel had been recently remolded. Nice wood flooring, new bathrooms, new soft beds, and a hot tub that looked clean and ready to go. we had a ground floor room next to the ice machine, but we did not hear it during the nite. You will need a car to get to down town or if you are in shape you can walk.

Hotel had everything I look for in a room: good value, microwave, refrig, coffee maker and clean! Breakfast is another thing I like, but the breakfast area is a nightmare. You enter the "line" from a side entrance and it backs up due to someone making waffles. Should be laid out better and because the door to the side is open it gets HOT in there. Hot and crowded, no thanks, did not do breakfast the 2nd day. Not many places to sit either. Unless I read that the breakfast area had been rearranged, I would compare prices of places with all the same amenities and maybe try someplace else.

Check-in was great—staff were quite friendly & helpful with map & coupons for area restaurants. The room was updated nicely (especially the bathroom) and comfortable. Only downside —you could smell that the room had not always been non-smoking. Good location close to historic St Augustine.

We have stayed at this Best Western a few times over the past years. Since we were there last year they have been working on renovations. This past weekend we stayed in one of the renovated rooms. It was very nice the changes were great!

Tremendous value, our room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom totally updated with a beautiful open shower. The bed was very comfortable. They have an alarm clock that also contains all the plug in you will need for your electronic recharging. Room also contains a micro wave and fridge. One of the cleanest motels we have seen. Back in a heartbeat. They offer a lovely breakfast in the morning, which has many choices. Their coffee machine, also gives you a variety of choices, which we had never seen before. We would definitely stay here again, as we loved the location.

Hotel is located close to the historical town center, went to see the christmas lights. You can tell the hotel was recently renovated, Very bright and clean rooms and great beds. All the staff were very friendly and eager to help. Small local tour operators pickup at the hotel and you are about a block fro the trolley stop. Have found our new hotel when in the St. Augustine area.

Clean basic budget friendly accommodations. If your not look for fancy with amenities. This place is very basic and clean. Modern updated small rooms. Wood looking floors, clean, some areas dusty like the closet rod. fan/ac did have a foul odor. Likely baby it's cold out side lol. The bed was clean and firm. Could use a fluffy mattress pad. We stayed at this hotel in October 2018. There has been a billing problem which we learned 2 weeks after the fact (our credit card was debited without our consent), and even though we contacted the hotel 3 times to correct the situation and get information, no-one ever returned our calls and we were completely ignored. This is very poor customer service. This is too bad because the room was great

Brittany and Debbie went above and beyond to make my stay worthwhile. The hotel was clean and big enough for three people, the pillows were very comfortable! Huge fridge, nice shower and very clean bathroom. 10/10 will stay again.

Passed through saint augustine in a road trip and had a great experience. Was looking for something clean, affordable and walking distance from everything. This hotel was just was we were looking for. Rooms seemed to be recently remodeled and bathrooms were very nice.

Was passing through St. Augustine and stopped in for the night. He hotel was very clean and the bed were comfortable. They did have issues with the hot water while we were there but they fixed the issues before morning and compensated us. Breakfast was not that great but free. Right near historical downtown and they do offer a shuttle to and from for a small fee but we did not use this service. Would definitely stay again!

We found this hotel very comfortable with most accommodating staff. It was centrally located for our needs. I appreciated not having to use the stairs. We went to our favourite restaurant to eat. Ole City Inn on Cordova. We return to this hotel again.

We were totally blown away by the service received here. The room was really good, very, very comfortable. We had breakfast each morning. I had something different each day. The breakfast selections were wonderful. The staff was so helpful. Anything we asked for, they took care of. Close to the old town, the staff arranged shuttle service for us. I would highly recommend staying here. Everything was wonderful.

This best Western was a great place to stay . Rooms are clean,comfortable and good decor. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The value was excellent. The breakfast can sure use a lot of improvement but that was not of big concern to us ,as there are lots of great places to eat .We will definitely stay here again when traveling to St Augustine.

This Best Western was really nice, clean and safe. The bed was comfortable. The only issue we had with the water pressure and toilet not working properly. Other than that, we will stay again next time we are that way.

Our room was updated and very clean. We enjoyed the friendly staff and the breakfast in the morning. Kelly was very accommodating and had the breakfast bar fully serviceable the whole time. She was a delight to talk to. Location was excellent for the things we wanted to do. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

When we checked in at the hotel, they told us about discounts, places to see, and eat. They explained how the trolley system worked, best times to go to attractions. I would recommend this motel to stay at.

This hotel just what they advertised, slightly off the beaten path of the main drag yet close enough that all attractions were 5-10 minutes away (except lighthouse, which is over the bridge). Clean rooms, full breakfast (free), great service, easy parking, would recommend as a lower-priced alternative to noisy main street locations. Review based on value, rather than as a Four Seasons comparison. Would stay there again.

The handicapped room was perfect. Easy for his scooter and very good shower.plenty of towels and accessories. I really liked the make up remover towel for me.also the remote for the tv was in a nice little fresh remote bag and there was information on the special care they do for cleaning the room.we stayed two nights and all accessories were refreshed and replaced. Breakfast was very good and many good options. Very great staff helped us with breakfast as well as a delightful front desk staff. Parking for out handicapped van was great very easy to get to our room. Handicapped room on ground floor very easy to access. This is in my estimation a top rated hotel for handicapped especially but for all guests.

The people in the front and housekeeping. They go out of there way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Come and see for yourself. They have a great pool and Jacuzzi they guide you to the best places to go. There are many great places to go all iver St. Augustine

Very good experience. Hotel is extremely close to local attractions in St. Augustine. The pool and hot tub were in great shape and fun for the kids. Rooms were clean, modern and comfortable beds. The hospitality of the hotel staff was excellent! I definitely recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised. We had not expected the accommodations to be as nice. This newly remodeled room was very attractive and clean. We especially liked the bathroom layout. The personnel at check in and out were very gracious. The lobby was still under renovation and will provide a larger space for breakfast dining. We would definitely stay at this Best Western again.

Having driven around Florida,St Augustine was our final resort for two nights , we wished it had been longer. Arriving at our hotel mid day , we expected to be told return later for your rooms. The lovely receptionist , said rooms are ready and then gave us some important information on the resort. Our room was lovely and clean , the shampoo had a magic odour. Ample on site car parking and hotel was in walking distance of a historical tour bus. Would we recommend staying here ? Without hesitation, it's brilliant.

This was a perfect hotel for our weekend getaway. Older hotel that has been renovated. Very nice room with new plumbing and furnishings. Front desk was very friendly. Breakfast was standard Best Western. We enjoyed lunch at Columbia, dinner at Osteens, concert at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and late night dessert at Ben and Jerry's. Only problem at hotel was parking late at night. Lot was full. We found a place to squeeze in.

This hotel was a real find! Very very clean and comfortable bed also great location, however, the front desk was so accommodating !Brittany at the front desk, went over and above to make our stay pleasant . We are celebrating our anniversary and a beautiful display with towels glasses and sparkling juice was left on our bed with a beautiful hand written note! Also a book with sticky notes giving us her recommendations for dinner and activities. The price was very reasonable, we are very happy we chose this hotel for a quick get away. Don't pass this one up!

The hotel is near all the major attractions, easy to find and an easy hotel to navigate the into the city and all the attractions. The staff at this hotel gave us great service and helped us to get to the places we were there to visit. This is not our first visit to St, Augustine nor will it be the last but this will be our hotel.

While hotel website said hotel was newly refurbished, rooms were beat up. Scratched paint and such. Our first room had an ant problem in the bathroom, we were offered another room. That room was dirty, with wet spots on the floor, etc. Third room was ok. Glad we were only staying one night. Manager gave us a discount upon checking out, which we appreciated. I would not recommend this hotel. The only highlight was Austin at the front desk. He was a sweetheart, very friendly and informative!

Good location close by historical area. Close enough to get to beach in 15 minutes. Small hotel but perfect for a weekend base to do lots of activities in St Augustine. Pool is nice way to cool off from the heat and there's a hot tub to relax. Rooms were nice, like the floors, no carpet. Bathrooms were nice too! Bed was comfy and ac worked well for a good nights sleep. Will stay here again!

Doesn't get a better location than this, this motel is just minutes walking from pretty much anything. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean and looked great. The bathrooms were a little small but nothing major. Everything here was great and I will definitely go back.

This hotel offered the comfort and quality of other Best Western hotels I have stayed in both in the U.K. and the States, it gave excellent value for money as well as being in easy reach of the Old Town area of of St Augustine. With excellent free breakfast served in the morning. We used the golf cart taxi/cab at $2 a person per trip but the hotel is in easy walking distance of attractions and the Old Town, a modern, clean cut interior with very comfortable beds and modern, bright bathroom.

The updates rooms and amenities made our stay a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and genuine care for the guest and appearance. I would definitely stay here again. The hot breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. Great value for the price.

We stayed here on our way to the Keys. My family was pleasantly surprised. Don't let the low price fool you. This place is great. Location, updated clean room , staff, breakfast , and price, they were all great. We plan on staying there again on our way home from the Keys.

Excellent, service, staff and especially Austin the Front deal associate he is wonderful and willing to help the guest. Asked him for recommendations and he know the area well and offered lots of options. He is sweet and hard working in accommodating guest. We were pleased with our choice of hotel.

Pros: EXCELLENT staff—thanks, Austin S! Speedy check in and out, super clean rooms with laminate flooring. Close to everything...beaches, historic district, shops. Breakfast was great and varied each morning. There was something for everyone. Cons: NO water pressure. Very few power outlets, which is a bigger deal when traveling with teens and their electronics. The rooms have no sound insulation, so it's like rooming with strangers and can be very loud in the morning. All things considered, we would stay again.

This Best Western is currently updating rooms so there is some construction here and there, but nothing that bothered or inconvenienced us. The staff was helpful & pleasant. Being in the historical district, we just had the front desk call for a shuttle to the trolley whenever we asked. So convenient and a great way to get around the area. The room was clean and the free breakfast was fine. (eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, toast and bagels) The price is fantastic and while not a 5 star hotel, it was perfect for our three day stay while we explored St. Augustine. It is off one of the main roads and traffic is quite brisk during the day, but it quieted down at night. We'll be back to this place. We were very pleased.

We switched to this hotel after realizing how costly it would be to stay directly in the middle of St. Augustine. What a wonderful little hotel. So clean and comfortable with a free breakfast. Would come back again and again.

Our getaway weekend for Father's Day was just right by staying at the Historical Inn! The room had a wonderful renovation and the bathroom was contemporary and spacious. Staff was so welcoming! Arrived early in the day, so I saw the tour map on the desk for the Old Town Trolly which I had intentions on booking. The young lady told me that they were in partnership with them and was able to sell us discounted rates for the 3 day ticket! Better than that, they call for the Trolly shuttle to pick you up anytime you're ready to go. Never had to move the car during the day! Perfect location, just minutes from the Trolly Station. Hotel is a 2 story, no elevator, so be sure to book accordingly if you cannot do stairs. We liked our second floor room. Small breakfast in a.m. but adequate. Comfy beds, tv, and nice pool. Very close to Vilano Beach which is so awesome and beautiful. Still so excited about the access to the Trolly!

We were in town for a wedding. The location was good and the price was reasonable. The breakfast was good. Our three generations were satisfied. Very crowded so you juggle for seats. A family with wet bathing suits sat on the upholstered seats so those were out. Our rooms didn't get cleaned one day of our five day stay. Not sure why, we didn't have the no disturb signs out. We had two rooms, one car. Parking is limited and we didn't have a space upon our return. Someone was taking three spaces with a moving truck. The desk worker moved her car to an off limits space and we parked in her spot. That was very nice. The staff was good. We would return.

We stayed here from June 1-5, 2018. The room was really clean and the beds were so comfortable. It had been recently renovated and updated and it looked very good. The breakfast was good.....however the breakfast area was tiny. They were beginning work on expanding the breakfast area while we were there.....so maybe it will be done soon. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Old Town Trolley tickets were sold at the front desk for a discount cheaper than you can buy them anywhere else. The Trolley will pick you up and drop you off at this hotel. The pool was very tiny and wasn't vacuumed while we were there. The hot tub was only warm.....not hot at all. I am not a pool person myself but my daughter swam a few days. I would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Room was a bit small but clean and bed was very comfortable which meant we had a good nights sleep. Location was right in the middle of the historic district so it was easy to walk around and see all the sights. I would recommend this location to anyone. If you have AAA or AARP you can get an additional discount. Management was friendly and they had a parking attendant as parking is a bit tight. We will stay here again the next time we visit St. Augustine.

Checked in here not knowing quite what to expect after the Titusville Best Western which was old and nor very up to date. We were surprised at how clean and modern this place is. Staff at the front desk was very accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable bed and a good nights rest.

I booked a room for my wife and my daughter and I for a 4 night stay to celebrate our daughter‘s birthday. The night before we were to check in, I called and asked the front desk what was in the room as far as refrigerator, storage, microwave because we were staying for multiple nights and wanted to bring food. I spoke with Ryann, the hotel manager, who informed me that the suite that they had offered a full kitchen but it was out of our price range. We decided to stay with the original room we booked with a mini fridge and a microwave. I thanked her and told her that we would see her the next day. The next day we got a late start and the hotel called asking if we were still coming. Patty (I believe her name was) informed us that Ryann so kindly had upgraded our room to a suite at no charge! When we got there, we were impressed to say the least. The hotel has obviously been recently renovated. The floors are beautiful, the room was extremely spacious, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was a full-size kitchen with all of the amenities that would be needed, we asked for extra blankets and received them with no issues. The bathroom is a generous size and very comfortable even for multiple people to be in the room at once. It was so nice that we even had our family come up and stay a night as well. Patty was able to get them the connecting room which basically made it a three bedroom apartment. We never had one issue the entire time we were there and any questions we had were easily answered. They were willing to make accommodations for the trolleys to pick us up if we wanted and also offered great suggestions of where to visit. We were told that they are still renovating the outside so don't judge the building by the outside… It really is a gem! We weren't very impressed with the breakfast that is offered but it was good enough for a quick start. The only downfall was the pool was under maintenance while we visited. When our family came, that was something the kids were looking forward to but it ended up raining anyways. This hotel offers a great value for your stay, wonderful staff, and a fantastic experience all around! The only tip I would recommend is that if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room towards the back because there is a train directly across the road and also the road noise can be a little loud if you're not used to it. We ended up buying a small fan to drown out the noise. I would certainly recommend it to anybody! Big thanks to the manager, she really made our stay!!!

Two night break at this recently updated hotel. Easy to find and access in St Augustine it is within walking distance of the old town area and attractions. Our room was very nice and comfy it had brighter decor and shower room than the usual American style which was a very pleasant change. All staff were friendly and helpful. The inclusive breakfast had a good offering and the hot offering varied day to day, the dining area was small and intimate encouraging people to socialise which was refreshing.

Loved every thing about the property. The staff went out of their way to make this an enjoyable experience . Met with a friend and really loved the room and staff. Location was great. A really enjoyable experience!

Nice newly renovated rooms. Shower/bathroom was really nicely done with ceramic shower and well-lit mirror. Bed was comfortable but could have used another blanket. Breakfast is what you'd expect for a fairly economical hotel. Coffee could use some work. The machine-made coffee is not great.

Ok. I'll admit. I booked online and got a little nervous when I saw the location. Drive by and looked at places by the marina/downtown for 3 times as much. Went back and used my original reservation here. So glad I did!!! Victoria was so helpful and the rooms are beautifully updated. A hidden gem. And they even called the free shuttle to come get us and take us to the old town trolley. We bought the trolley pass at the hotel for a discount. 2 people for 3 days was less than $30 total and well worth it. Haven't tried breakfast yet but I can be pretty sure we will take it to our nice room to eat- the only drawback is the small eating area. The room is beautifully done with a great walk in shower with rain shower head. For the price and value you get it is a winner in my book!!

Very nice location, good breakfast, nice pool and people! Got an excellent price too! Not far from historic area and food in the area was plentiful. It is a bit too far if you plan to walk to things in the historic area or shopping but worth the drive and money saved.

We were impressed with friendly and quick check-in. They helped with tour ideas. Our room was super clean. I used the pool on a hot day. We also used the handy laundromat. Dood value at $118 a night. Great location. Recommended.Breakfast was a bit of disappointment

While it was a little off the main attraction (the fort) we were close enough that it wasn't a long drive. We have a big truck and parking was a challenge but no complaints. We were always able to find a spot. The employees were very nice and helpful!!

Very nice, clean rooms. Management was very helpful with information about the city and very friendly. The trolley arranges to pick you up at the hotel and bring you back -- no car needed. We rode the trolley for two days and went everywhere without having to drive or worry about parking. The hotel staff helped us out by calling for the trolley when we were ready to leave for the day. Breakfast was great, staff was wonderful. We truly enjoyed our stay in St Augustine at the Best Western Historical Inn! Would definitely stay there again. Loved St Augustine!

This was a quiet little hotel which served its purpose. Everyone was friendly and nice. within walking distance of what we needed to do. The staff helped out when asked a question. The parking was limited as to this hotel seems to share with hotel next door.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff! This hotel is very near the historic district, not close enough to walk but only about a 5 minute drive. The only problem I experienced during my stay was a lack of sufficient parking.

This quaint hotel is located in the center of the historical section of St. Augustine. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They gave us a gift pack of water and smacks. That was a real bonus.The price was good. We were able to walk to the sightseeing train. We would definitely visit this hotel again.

This year marks our 3rd visit to Best Western Historical. We are always impressed with the friendly, helpful staff,the cleanliness and wonderful buffet breakfast. One of our favorites is the cook and server Callie. She helps my husband maneuver his wheelchair and cheerfully cleans our spills. We love staying at St.Augustine 's Best Western Historical on SanMarco St.

The room was clean and spacious - very comfortable night's sleep. The hot breakfast was good but not outstanding. The walk in shower was very nice. It is located in the "uptown" area - it is close to the Fountain of Youth and the Old Jail but not close to St George St and most restaurants. It was a easy walk to the Raintree Restaurant which we enjoyed. It is on the trolley lines and we took advantage of them but they don't operate after about 4pm. The front desk offered to arrange a shuttle to go downtown after hours for a $3/person fee. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and the management is first rate. However, we might choose a location closer to St George Street if we return to St Augustine.

Prob worth more like 2 stars but the beds were actually comfy and coffee not bad! The 2 most important things right?! The hotel appears quite run down with old dingy carpet (yuck), no security lock on the door, paint chipped on walls and furniture, and stains in the bathroom area. You would expect sll this if one was paying $60 /night but it was DOUBLE that and get this on top of that they charged $50 incidental deposit (just in case we were able to trash the room more than it already was). Still, location was convenient for us and there is a beautiful oak tree "in" the parking lot.

At check in we were recognized as rewards members and given an upgrade to a suite which was awesome and unexpected.The suite was very nice and clean and beds quite comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Room was fine - clean and welcoming. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was okay and the only thing was it is in quite a cramped area - we stayed midweek and would think it was hard to get a seat at weekends. Did not realise the train was across the road! Rumbling was a bit of a shock for the first time.. Great for free parking - an easy walk to the Trolley stop - but I needed the car, it is however free to park at The Trolley stop - as long as you use it!

Our six nite stay was pleasant at the Best Western Historic. The free breakfast was very good with a choice of fresh homemade waffles, eggs,sausages,toast,english muffins,all kinds of hot/cold cereals,coffee,OJ apple juice fresh fruits. This was all you can eat Free internet in the lobby. This place just had a recent makeover and was nice and clean! Staff is very pleasant.

I was so impressed with the level of service. All of the front desk employees were friendly, approachable and offered great advice for tourism and transportation. The rooms were contemporary clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels.

As my son described it, this was "the bestest Best Western" we've ever stayed in. Convenient location. Rooms were clean, and staff was very friendly. There was a problem with our room so they upgraded us to suite for no additional charge and NO hassels.

The hotel was extremely overpriced and was minimal at best. The breakfast was horrible, salty powdered eggs, near frozen sausage and no yogurt. The bathrooms have a pocket door but no latches. It was clean though. The parking lot was full and requires you to park on the street. The staff was friendly.

Working in a hotel myself, I understand the importance of service. Specifically as a receptionist and a breakfast cook, I noted this was great service. The car park is relatively small, though there's a few other lots merged into one. Get there early for the best spot! Check-in was good, greeted by a nice lad with a cracking dark-ish blonde quiff. Took about 5 minutes, which seemed a bit long considering the checks and verification needed. I can check people in within one minute at my hotel. Pre-allocating rooms prior to check-in really helps our hotel system. Really polite, helped us out with queries. I'd like to point out that to make the check-in perfect, mention where the rooms are located. Sure, I travelled with a smart family and we figured out where they are fast enough, though some people can be a little bamboozled. The travel bag with cereal bars was a really nice touch! The breakfast was awesome, quality-wise. A buffet range of waffles, fruit, fruit salad, bacon, beef hash, egg, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea and juice. Very impressive. Gluten-Free is available too, and it's quite impressive. An advisory tip would be to have a breakfast report to keep track of how many people there are to arrive for breakfast, which can control the levels of fresh food also. I had difficulty with the waffle machine as a Brit, which the smart, very well-presented receptionist guy helped with. Top guy! (Thank you, I'd have been there for hours!) I also liked how staff were present, there was always at least one person there. Maybe even two. Including a cook in the back. Breakfast was impressive; though when there's a small room in the way it's lay out, it shouldn't be difficult! Though breakfast was made to look easy! The room presentation was perfect, with comfy beds. There was a long, blonde hair in the sink, though we all make human errors; the housekeeping was top notch besides this, but it's no biggie. I was shocked to see a hygienic remote, unused (or sanitised) in the room too. Really, really proud of this. Too many hotels use the same remotes! Overall, very lovely stay. Arrive early for best parking spots!

My family and myself took a short getaway for a 3-day 2-night stay in St. Augustine and chose this hotel because of the location. This was a great location just a block from all of the main sites to see. I was greeted by Austin at the front desk...he really made the stay a memorable one with his friendly, genuine and upbeat personality after a 5 hour drive. The breakfast was on point each morning! We loved being able to make fresh waffles ourselves. The rooms are spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated! Looking forward to booking another stay soon!

This was by far the best Best Western I stayed in. We got upgraded to a suite which was not only very spacious but beautifully decorated. The staff was pleasant, breakfast offered a good variety - all in all, I could;t ask for more at a very, very reasonable price.

So I took my wife to The Best Western Historical Inn on the weekend of March 23 and 24th for her birthday. We reserved a King Size room. We arrived and found the refrigerator in the room overheating. We told the front desk and went out for the day. When we returned at 10:30 that night a new refrigerator was in the room. My wife tried to take her shower and realized that there was no hot water for the room. I went to the office thinking that maintenance would come and fix the heater. They go home at 4. Ryan, on the desk, told me that the room next to us was vacant and we could either "use the shower there" or move into that room. We chose to move into a room with two double beds. I am 6'2" tall and 285 pounds ... my wife doesnt fit in a double bed with me. Ryan only took $125 off our bill. Around 3 am, we realized that the air conditioner in our new room wasn't working right and would not cool off. Since it was Spring Break, other hotels were booked so we decided to stay and bare with it. The last time we tried to stay here, the air conditioner was also broken and they had no other rooms available so we had to leave the hotel. We reserved a King Size room for my wifes birthday. My wife and I ended up not even being able to sleep in the same bed while we were there. Then, for the second time, the air conditioner was not working properly and I am assuming that they would rather inconvienence their paying customers (Rewards Members at that !!) than pay for maintenance to work some overtime. It is a real shame that their customers do not come first. That was the last time we will be staying at the Best Western Historical Inn. Taking $125 off of a bill does not compensate us for the disappointment and inconvenience experienced during our stay.

Finishing up our 2 night quick break away from home - about a 2 hour drive. I was immediately impressed with the renovations. The decor of the room is lovely, floors really nice and beds and bedding are awesome. The bathroom is spacious and that shower head? I want one for my home! Jill at the front desk was very inviting and nice. Loved the snack back - really great idea. Breakfast was ok. The only changes I would make is to upgrade the a/c as it is a bit noisy. Also, while I love the sliding bathroom door, if someone has to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom the light shines through and illuminates the entire room. However, those things are very minor compared to all that's great about this place. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm here.

We got a good price on this hotel and stayed a weekend for my husbands birthday. For the price we paid , can't complain. It was an average of 100/night when the rest of the hotels in the area are 200 plus. Our room was recently updated with faux hardwood floors and tiled shower. We stayed in room 116 and it was at the end of the hall which happened to not be a good thing. The maids closet of supplies was right outside our room and every morning we heard all the noise very early as the door is paper thin and not sealed well ( you can see light coming through the large gaps). We were hoping to sleep in -as new parents we don't get to do that , but alas the noise kept us from doing so. They offer breakfast but we didn't try it- too many good eating options around. The room also had a fridge and microwave. The location is convenient to the downtown area and its a good value for the price , but not sure I would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed for one night, just to sight-see the historical area. The hotel, room, and area were clean and updated. Also, the staff was very friendly. My only issue was that the hotel was about 1.5 miles to the area where there were things to do. If you do not mind the walk, it is a perfect location because the parking in the areas where there are things to do can be costly. Otherwise, a great stay at an affordable price.

The Best western has been recently remodeled, rooms were clean and fresh. Desk clerk was very helpful. The continental breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Loved the shuttle and Trolley service right from the Motel.

I can't believe this is a Best Western! I had a less than glowing experience at another St. Augustine-area Best Western, so I was a little skeptical about staying here. However, we had really great wedding block rates here during my wedding weekend last month, so we took a chance. TOTALLY worth it! Best bang for the buck in the historic St. Augustine area. The exterior is just like every other Best Western I've ever been to. Nothing super fancy. But as I entered the lobby, I could immediately tell that this stay had potential to be better than the last. The lobby was PRISTINE and modern (very recently updated). There was bottled water, fresh fruit AND spa water on tap (water infused with fruit) available in the lobby. And the front desk staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Off to a great start! Upon entering the room, we found a very special welcome gift, congratulating us on our wedding. There was a bag filled with snacks and bottled water. There was another bag with brownie brittle. AND there was a large bottle of sparkling grape juice with two champagne flutes! Super cute... and tasty. The room itself was recently updated and very modern. The bathroom was pristine, with a spacious shower with perfect water pressure. And the beds were clean and inviting. I still can't believe that this is the cheapest hotel we could find near the downtown area. I've stayed at several historic-area hotels, and this was by far the most modern and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

We were extremely surprised at how nice the room was for the price and location! The room was newly renovated and had a very upscale feel. They were currently doing renovations to the outside also so it will just get better and better. We called ahead and were able to check in about an hour early with no problem. They welcomed us with a goodie bag filled with snacks and bottled water. Breakfast was hot and yummy. Located only a minute from all the attractions. If we were staying longer we would have bought tickets for the trolley which will pick you up right at the hotel. Highly recommend!!

We booked this room as we were getting ready to leave St. Augustine back to NY. The hotel made major renovations as everything in the rooms are now new...the rooms are quiet and the shower actually had power!! Parking can get tricky, but the location off of US1 was ideal heading back to Jacksonville.

We stay at St Augustine often. This was the first time at the Historical and we were very pleased. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was standard BW fare although the breakfast room is small. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will stay again

We recently stayed 2 nights at Best Western Historical Inn. Check-in was efficient and provided us with a welcome bag of snacks and water. Our room was clean and had a king bed. The bath was not separate, it was in the room area and quite small. Breakfast area only had 5 tables, but we had no problem. If everyone came at the same time it would be too small. The coffee machine has several choices so you have to push the button for what you want and wait for the cup to fill, a little slow. The parking lot was full when we arrived at 4:30, but after we came back from dinner, there were a few spaces. They do have additional parking behind Hampton Inn next door. The location is excellent, only about one mile from Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, and the visitor center. This hotel is a good value in St. Augustine

Stayed here to attend a wedding at Treasury on the square. Location was very convenient to downtown. Room was very clean and the internet access was excellent for a work conference call I needed to connect to.

We were in room 212. All the rooms have been remodeled recently and look wonderful and modern. Great bathroom with huge walk in shower. The beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping does great and the room was immaculate. It is a two story "motel" and does not have an elevator but stairs are easily accessible. There are many good breakfast choices. Debbie, Jill and Kelly were great hosts.

I have to say, we didn't expect much, but we were TOTALLY surprised and SO pleased with this hotel. It's one of the best I've stayed in, especially for the cost. The staff were thoughtful, kind and helpful and the breakfast was AWESOME. There's lovely little additions such as the gift bag when we arrived and free bottled water throughout the day. There is a microwave and fridge in the rooms so great for families. It's clean and modern and there's free parking. 10/10 from me!

This is a newly renovated hotel, very clean, nicely decorated with Outstanding customer service by a great staff. Front desk Mgr. Debbie T. did an excellent job providing tons of information about places to visit in the historic city as well as transportation options through out the day. It was my wife birthday and they were incredibly nice by leaving a bottle of sparkling cider and other goodies in our room. Reasonably priced with very comfortable beds. Daily hot breakfast with great assortment of protein, grains, dairy and a killer coffee machine dispensing great café latte, capucino etc. Waffle machine is awesome. This hotel will completely change the paradigm you may have about Best Westerns. This is a very nice clean pleasant place to stay, you actually hate to have to leave. Outstanding job by the ownership and management of this hotel.

Very clean rooms, crisp white bedding and towels. Helpful staff. Young man at front desk in the morning for check in was very accommodating to our room request, knowledgeable and also patient with us senior folk. Nice location. Large bathrooms. Breakfast area was clean and restocked often. Breakfast area is small and it would be nice if it was a bit larger. They do provide trays if you'd like to take your breakfast back to your room which was helpful. We did have a first floor room on request which was close to the main road but the room was very quiet which was a plus.

We stayed here for two nights. What a great motel! It was convenient, clean and safe. The rooms have a clean, beach house feel with bare floors, muted walls and accents in bright blue. The bathroom was big. Outside, this inn looks like the motels 'down the shore' used to look with two stories and an outside veranda giving access to the rooms on the 2nd floor. Many motels in the area look the same, and it's nice not to have enormous hotels overwhelming the town. The room had a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was very basic. The parking lot is bigger than it looks because the Best Western shares the entire lot with the Hampton Inn next door, so you have more parking spaces than only those directly in front of the motel. This is too far to walk to the historical area, but is a quick drive. Jill at the front desk shared the secret that metered parking is free after 5 pm. During the day you can park in the visitor's center for $15/all day or find various lots around town for $10/4 hours. Be sure to check out the promenade in the historic area near the Lions Bridge (magical at night) and the lighthouse - tours are during the day or at night.

Best Western Historical Inn is on Rt 1 and very convenient to downtown via the Trolleys. Room was recently updated, clean and very Comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was very good, but the Breakfast room was a little on the small side. Staff said it was due to be enlarged.Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and would return. Great location. While there is a trolley tour to take you to the historical district, we walked most of the time. We did the tour to see the sights with guidance, but after that we walked back and forth. It's about a mile and took us 30 minutes. We walked back after dark and felt quite safe to do so. Great breakfast, although the dining room can be a little crowded as it is small. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

This is not located as close to old village as I thought. However they do send a van to drive you to the Visitors Center. The front desk people could not have been nicer. Directions,diner places just the best and so friendly. Breakfast was typical but I should tell you about there millon dollar coffee machine. At any time day or night you can push a button for what ever you desire even a latte.

The breakfast was good except the coffee. They don't brew it. It is kind of like the coffee you get at the roadside rest areas. Room was great and clean. Love the large bathroom and the huge shower head. The linens are wonderful as well as the mattress.

The best hotel we have ever stayed at for the price! We also love staying at Disney's hotels and this hotel is comparable to Disney with their service and cleanliness But not Disney's prices! When we ever go back to St. Augustine, we will be staying at Best Western Historical! Our Family and friends unfortunately, stayed at another hotel down the road, name started with a (P), do not want to get in trouble, but they all had a nightmare staying there! I went into my daughter's room, after hearing them complaining about it all day, they couldn't sleep that night, of course front desk said they were full and couldn't move them, I stepped into the room and almost gagged! They say the rooms are non-smoking but apparently the room is not given a complete cleaning afterwards! I had such a migraine afterwards. Then the manager tried to give the room to another teammate's family. How sad! I am so happy we went to Best Western Historical Inn! We highly recommend it!

Very nice staff and a great place to stay for a vacation. Great breakfast and friendly service. You will be close to the Red Train and the Trolley Service at this Hotel you can get tickets for the trolley and a bus will pick you up at the Hotel.

good price for a very desirable location. Lobby with hot beverages and excellent coffee choices late into the evening. Makeup remover packets a plus in the bathrooms. Noise from neighbors not too bad but not great either. Clean, good access from parking.

The location was very good, about a mile to where all the eateries were and shops. Easy walk. Went to see the Christmas lights. Plan to do it again next year the weather was miserable but the lights were beautiful. A wonderful Christmas atmosphere every where we went.

Upon arrival, the desk agent gave us a very nice gift bag with water and little snacks to take to our room. The lobby has a delicious coffee machine that makes about 20 different coffees, all delicious. Although the outside doesn't show it, the room was very recently renovated and was beautiful with modern finishings. Beds were comfortable, TV was great, and the bathroom was also very pretty. I got better service from the desk agent and the morning breakfast lady than I get at some restaurants. The agent serving breakfast was exceptional. It's about a mile from all of the historic area, which was very easy walk from this hotel so we didn't even have to move our car. I'd highly recommend this hotel because it's such a bargain.

Not enough parking, low shower pressure and staff didn't care when informed at front desk. Check out waited 15mins and no one was in front of me. Breakfast was decent and room were comfortable. Location is good if you don't want to be in the middle of everything but close enough drive to get to everything within 5minutes.

This hotel was better than most five star hotels in which I have stayed . From the courteous greeting to the cleanliness of the rooms, the Best Western Historical tops the charts. The manager, Debbie had a warm and welcoming smile along with the entire staff. The complementary breakfast was by far the best. They had everything and a staff member to assist,as well. I will stay again and highly recommend this hotel. Additionally the location was great.

Stayed there for 1 night. Standard motel styled room. The room has wood floor (or laminate) instead of carpet. Front desk is really friendly. Breakfast area is small but breakfast is good. It is a little bit far from the fort area.

My wife and I have visited st. Augustine Florida over 100 times since moving to Florida in 1977. We spent Christmas Day in Saint Augustine to see the Nights of Lights in the city. We chose the Best Western due to its proximity to downtown so that we could walk wherever we needed to. The hotel was recently renovated and the room that was provided to us was extremely well done. The beds were more than unbelievably comfortable and the overall quality and cleanliness of Hotel was exceptional. The only thing that out did the overall condition of the hotel, was the professional and friendly staff that we had the opportunity to speak to. This hotel should definitely be on your list of places to stay if you are going to be in St Augustine.

Just outside the actual Fun Zone, it is close enough to walk for the fit. We took a mile-long walk down to the Castillo de San Marcos fort and found some cool shops along the way. You also can walk to the trolley station and there is a neat little park with a carousel nearby. The beds are good, there is a fridge and microwave in the room. The accommodations are under renovation and they have done a good job (especially with the bathrooms). We especially like the rainfall shower heads. It is - like most of St Augustine - a bit pricey, but this is about as good as it gets for quality rooms at a fairly reasonable price.

The Front Desk Clerk, Ryan, went above and beyond in helping our family provide a surprise wedding engagement for our daughter. My wife and I have traveled the world and have never encountered such helpful and caring hotel staff. The rooms were clean, updated and comfortable which made the stay all the more enjoyable.

We had a comfortable room and was pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the inn. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Very close to all the action or at least a trolley stop to get in the center of town. I look forward to staying again at a Best Western.

We stayed for two nights and this was a pretty central location. The trolley service even came to pick us up. The motel was clean and appeared recently remodeled. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was extremely nice.

Rooms were very clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful. They have a nice hot breakfast in the morning. We were not real close to town, but the front desk recommended a service that would pick us up and return us to the hotel for $3.00 a person each way. It was much better, than driving our car and paying for parking, Christmas Time is very busy in St. Augustine. Also, this hotel was much more reasonable than the one in town.

The hotel is very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was hot and fresh with a good selection. The standard room was very well appointed. We had a great stay. Would definitely come back again, great service.

I was so surprised. This hotel was in such fantastic shape, well maintained and remodeled. It really was like staying at a very fancy hotel. Unfortunately there is a good amount of street noise so that is the only drawback.

Overall stay was excellent! Breakfast needs help, but it will keep you going. The location was good, and the transportation to get to town was adequate. The staff was awesome especially the maintenance technician, Nelson! I would recommend staying here if you can't get to the bayfront.

This hotel was recently remodeled and the rooms are beautiful, updated and clean. Friends joined us on our trip and were as pleased with their room as we were. The staff members were very helpful and happy. The breakfast was exceptionally good. I definitely would recommend this hotel. We never had to drive anywhere. We used the free shuttle service from the hotel to the Old Town Trolley and rode that all around town.

We have never stayed in a hotel that we liked more than this one. They really made us feel welcome. We were there during December. Their Christmas decorations were so pretty. They had Christmas candy out on the table in the lobby. The tree was beautiful. It made us feel at home. The service was great in the breakfast area. The girl that worked it was so friendly. She kept our used plates and silverware picked up. They had an updated coffee and hot chocolate machine. There were about 15 different choices. It is an older hotel, but remodeled with the latest technology. We will definately stay there again.

All good news here! Smiles and helpful staff. We walked to the historic district Love that there is an electric vehicle charging station. We had some difficulties using it, but the staff came right out and fixed the issue!

The Inn is on the outer edge of the city. It is nice current and quite. The staff was most helpful. It was the serious Christmas start. They decorated nicely. The breakfast was good. It was very nice to have the women who takes care of all that stuff really out with the customers doing a great job of giving all help needed . Beds are firm not hard

Kelly, Debbie T. and Melissa at the Best Western Historical made our long weekend great. This hotel is clean, the breakfast is very good which includes a coffee machine that make coffees to order, rooms are updated. There is an inexpensive service that can drive you to and from downtown. We walked downtown and used the service to drive us back at the end of the day. Overall a great experience.

This Best Western offers excellent facilities. The service is friendly and efficient; the breakfast delicious and easy to self-serve. In general, our experience was delightful. My friends and I would return there gladly.

This hotel has been recently updated. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to all attractions we wanted to see. Breakfast had good choices, but breakfast area was rather small. Staff was friendly and informative.

The hotel was pretty good. Room was very spacious (there were 4 of us) and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. I loved that we received a little gift bag/ care package when we checked in. After a long drive it was a very nice gesture. It had water and snacks. The only complaint is that there are not enough parking spaces. The area is shared with the Hamptom Inn next door and late at night it was hard to find a spot or one close to your room. Overall we liked it a lot.

It was our 1 Year wedding anniversary celebration and we were incredibly surprised when we got to our room. There was a heart made from towels on the bed with a hand written Happy Anniversary card and of course chocolate. We received a gift bag at check in with goodies and non-alcoholic sparkling grape soda with 2 champaigne glasses. The rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. We had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting St Augustine. The staff was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was fantastic and the coffee machine with the latte options were great. We were quite surprised. We will definitely return on our next visit to St Augustine. Thank you

We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice clean place to stay with pleasant helpful staff and comfortable beds and pillows and rooms. No problems were encountered during our stay. We appreciated our welcome gift bag at check-in and loved the coffee machine in the lobby, did I mention I loved making a hot latte or cafe mocha in the lobby? So good to sip while nibbling on a complimentary York peppermint patty in the lobby. We were very close to the historic area and drove our car over and parked, went to see the Christmas lights by horse drawn carriage. Enjoyed the evening in beautiful St Augustine! The only thing that was a little disturbing was the loud sound of traffic on the street could be heard in the room, but wasn't a big deal. I felt safe walking the property and to my car. We had breakfast in the small breakfast nook in the lobby, was surprised by how much variety was available in such a limited area to serve. I felt very safe and very welcome during our stay!

An awesome place to stay! Very clean! Comfortable bed! Very friendly and helpful staff!! My husband and I enjoyed the 20 minute walk to the historic area in st. Augustine, but there is the hop on/off troll or you can get a ride for $3 each way if you don't want to walk!

When we arrived our front desk clerk was very pleasant. I reported that our first room had a bad odor and she immediately moved us to another odor free room. Our stay was very pleasant and all of the hotel staff were quite friendly.

Family road trip! Lovely hotel! Very clean, organized and a delicious breakfast! The hotel staff is the best part of this property! From Ashley at the front desk to Kelly at the breakfast area to our accommodating housekeeper Melissa and the very friendly maintenance guys, they make you all feel very at home! Everyone on the property greet you with a hello and offers their assistance. And don't forget to try Jared who operates the Hopper! A great form of transportation!????

This was the first hotel since I started traveling that I gave a score of 10 in all but one category. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and showed that they really cared. Lots of suggestions about things to do , places to visit and eat. Recognition of my Diamond status, the handling of our minor challenge and a no charge upgrade were the high points for us. This hotel will definitely be recommended to all and warrants another stay if we ever visit the area!

Newly updated with many newer hotel amenities. Good value for the area. Rooms and breakfast area are tight from adding updated amenities into older hotel space. Would use this hotel for business stay, maybe not for vacation with family.

The room was recently renovated with some nice features and tastefully done. The bed was comfortable and bathroom bright. Nice television, clean hard surface flooring and the room equipped with microwave and small fridge.  The breakfast very nicely presented with plenty of choices. Unfortunately the water pressure was beyond poor. The hot water was almost non-existent to the point of being laughable. My wife did not dare wash her hair or she'd still be in St. Augustine.  The shower floor is slippery, most likely because it does not get wet enough to keep the soap rinsed away, and there is no shower bar in the stall, so be careful!  The shower had a pan head waterfall fixture and it takes a lot of water pressure to make those enjoyable. Obviously, this one underperformed. The lack of water pressure also causes one to question cleanliness. What can the staff do other than wipe things down with a barely damp towel? There were many signs of residential fixtures and equipment.  The shower curtain rod is pressure affixed and fell down, the toilet and lavatory fixtures are a Home Depot house brand. The door to the room needs a lot of weatherstripping. The results are cosmetically nice, but the signs of not being durable are already apparent. Having said that, the room was indeed comfortable (except for the pathetic water pressure).  Looking more closely at previous reviews, the water pressure complaints go back at least several months. Apparently management intends to ignore the issue.  We also did not appreciate the “Smokers Outpost” affixed to the railing outside our door. We were greeted in the morning to conversation, the smell of cigarette smoke coming through our poorly weatherstripped door and a cigarette butt stubbed out in our doorway. We would not stay here again.  Given so many choices in this town, we would rather try out another spot.

We arrived a little early but were welcomed and offered the choice of two rooms that were ready. The reception clerk was charming and efficient. She offered some very suggestions for visiting and getting around the city. The morning reception clerk was equally as pleasant. The room had been renovated and was comfortable and had all the amenities expected. We will return.

Had a great weekend in St. Augustine. From check in to check out staff was great. Breakfast in the hotel got the day started right. Need to get one of their coffee machines for my house. Need to get one of those clicks in the room for my house too.

Everything was so clean and nice. You could tell they've remodeled. The breakfast was delicious, the mattress was terrific. The customer service was wonderful. The treat bag we were given when we checked in had some nice goodies in it. We enjoyed our stay there.

The nicest all around Best Western I've ever stayed in. Period. The entire complex has undergone a recent update unlike any I've ever seen even in more expensive motel venues. Conveniently located just a short walk from downtown St. Augustine.

Very convenient to the downtown historical section. The most accommodating staff. Newly remodeled rooms, love the Decour. Will stay here every time I'm in St. Augustine. Anybody ask me where to stay in St. Augustine this will be the spot.

This property is very close to the oldest jail and the US and the "Fountain of Youth". The San Marcos Fort is a couple miles away. Clean updated rooms and pretty good breakfast albeit a small eating area. Best part of the stay was the staff. Very helpful and efficient.We like to stop in St. Augustine on trips to South Florida and will stay here again.

We come to St Augustine often for work. Our favorite hotel is the Best Western low cost, clean ,updated , hot breakfast and friendly staff. They will give you a recommendation for places to go or eat and often have discounts cards. Breakfast is great hot great selection and the coffee machine makes latte or cappuccino one of many reason we like it here. They are always cleaning.

The staff at this hotel must enjoy their jobs because everyone is friendly, helpful, and hard-working. The rooms were sparkling clean. The desk clerks are willing to take the time to answer any questions. The breakfast staff were quick to fill any request. My family and I felt welcomed. Hospitality Southern Style!

The staff at Best Western were so thoughtful. When checking in I mentioned to the clerk that I was here celebrating my birthday and also that I was newly pregnant. After spending the day in the historic district, we came back to the hotel room to a bottle of sparkling grape juice, brownies, and a birthday card from the staff. So sweet and thoughtful. They were very helpful in seeing that we were comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. We would definitely stay again. It is a little bit further from the historic district then we would have liked however, we used Explore to get around. They are a transportation company that charges only $3/pp.

This place was amazing. Clean remodeled rooms, VERY friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit. We were celebrating our anniversary and they left a nice care package for us and a hand written note. It blew my wife away from how friendly everyone was.

Besides being very affordable rooms they are large and absolutely the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. I am 58 yrs. old and have done quite alot of travel. I stayed 3 nights with my 29 yr. old daughter' on a mini-vacation. If this hotel had been any cleaner it would have been a brand new hotel. The rooms were very large with micro-waves mini fridges etc. The staff was just amazingly friendly. Would help with any and everything. There was also a restaurant quality free breakfast every morning offered free of charge. There is only 5 stars offered to rate this hotel BUT it is every bit of a 10 star quality place to stay. Close to all major attractions and trolley comes right to your door for transport to your destination. I will always stay at Historical Inn Best Western and highly recommend to any and all persons going to this area!!! You will not be disappointed. Thank you..K.H.

Receptionist was friendly, professional and went out of her way to assist us with sight seeing and where a hairdresser was located. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended.

We stayed here one night on our way to Orlando. Upon our arrive we received a small treat bag from the front desk which was very much so appreciated. The rooms are very nicely updated, and very close to a lot of attractions. My only complaint was the water pressure in the bathroom, we had trouble getting the shampoo and conditioner out of our hair, I would stay here again!!

We stayed at the BW Historical Inn in St. Augustine for one night in our trip back from Charlotte NC, the hotel room was spotless, and modern, all the staff members were extremely courteous and efficient, check in and out was quick, complementary breakfast was excellent, thanks Kelly for your help! I traveled to this hotel after hurricane Irma which technically left me homeless. I stayed for 2 nights. The property was immaculate, the prices were more than reasonable and the rooms looked like they had recently been refinished. The hotel is conveniently located near downtown (4 minute drive). The complimentary breakfast was outstanding! And the pleasant woman who assisted us during breakfast was outstanding as well, unfortunately her name escapes me. The front desk staff were unbelievably friendly and accommodating especially Ashlee. Best western is lucky to have such an amazing employee. I am currently living right up the road in jacksonville but I will go back to this hotel from time to time because it was THAT pleasant. Thank you.

I stayed here in July of 2017. My mother was dying of cancer and I stayed for about a month total at this location. I'm forever grateful for the kindness, concern, and willingness to work with me during this time. Everyone was friendly (from groundskeepers up to management). I was offered food, information, a concerned ear. The crew at Best Western Historical Inn became my "family" when I was alone. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I felt safe and secure. And the cost was already affordable but LaDella worked with me to give me an even greater discount due to the situation. When alone in a different state during an exhaustingly emotional time in my life...I could not have asked for a better place to stay. If I'm ever in St. Augustine again, this will be the ONLY hotel where I will stay.

We loved our stay here, newly refurbished rooms, comfy beds and beautiful coordinated colour scheme. Service from front desk staff was superb... we had a problem with our room, however this was dealt with efficiently.... we hope to return here in the near future .. thank you

I came here to propose to my girlfriend and the hotel service is just amazing...Jill, Ashely and the general manager provided us with an unforgettable time with the attention and service. The room is very clean, beds comfortable and very spacious. When I return to saint Augustine, decently staying again here. The breakfast is very fresh and delicious as well. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here one night on our way to Charleston to see the eclipse. I was not expecting a lot, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. They even gave you a little shopping bag of goodies, snacks and water at check in. Breakfast was nice, too.

The entire staff was very helpful with shuttles and advising about local attractions. The breakfast was excellent. The new remodel to the rooms are very nice. There are a lot of great eating places nearby. Very close to historic downtown and plenty of shops.

Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Room is large with laminate floor which I prefer over carpet. There is a glow from the tv equipment when the lights are off so it made it a little difficult to sleep. Ashley at front desk was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast area is very small and busy. Plan to grab something to take back to your room and eat. Nice bathroom and full shower instead of tub shower. Only draw back I see is that this is really a motel situation with doors on outside of building. However, we were on the second floor and didn't hear a lot of parking lot or road noise at night. All in all I would recommend but the hotel is a walk from the downtown area.

From check-in to check-out and in between, every aspect of our stay was awesome. When we checked into our room, we had screamimg children in the room next to us. We informed the clerk at front desk and she immediately changed our room. The quality and cleanliness of our room was excellent. The bed and the pillows were unexpectedly comfortable. Note, before you come to St. Augustine, do not purchase trolly tickets online. We bought our tickets at the front desk at the hotel and got an outstanding deal--3days for the price of one! Moving on to breakfast, the food varied day to day and was all fresh and delicious! The staff was constantly restocking and would check to make sure everyone had what they needed. The value was great considering rhe excellent customer service, room quality, and location, location, location ( we were just a few blocks away from all the major attractions, so we did not have to move our car during our entire stay). This hotel was an excellent, family-friendly establishment. We even received a swag bag containing various goodies upon our arrival :-).

I forgot their names but the entire staff was so helpful and very attentive to all their guests needs! The front desk, morning woman, had many suggestions on the best places to eat and see in town! We made it to a few of them and will but definitely be back to experience the rest! The dear sweet lady that takes care of breakfast was very efficient and kept everything well stocked! Don't forget to tip her! She's a hard worker! We had the best stay and would highly recommend this hotel! Shout out to Sherry at spanish location! Thank you again for your amazing service!

Stayed at the Best Western (Historical) middle of July. Plus points very clean, bed was comfy, nice shower room and complimentary breakfast was a definite bonus. Swimming pool while small, was lovely to have a dip in, after a hot day in St Augustine. The minus point for me was that I was expecting the hotel to be nearer the Old town, this was was totally my own fault as I should have done more research. There is though readily available transport if you do not want to drive or you can walk, which takes about 20mins.. okay if it's not to hot, but I would not recommend this if you struggle in the heat. St Augustine is a lovely place to visit, and there is plenty to do, we had two days there and we only managed to visit a few of the many sites.

The room was clean. The bed and pillows were vvvvvvery comfortable. I slept like I was at my own home. Very comfortable. Wood or laminate floors, no dingy carpet. Tastefully decorated modern room. The food was good. The place is well located. I would definitely stay again when I'm in town.

My wife checked in the 26 of July for a few days in Saint.Augustine, Fl. Upon arrival we were met by a very nice and helpful lady named Jill. Everything was ready and we walked into a very nice freshly renovated room. Breakfast was nice selection of eggs, bacon, sausage,waffles or cereal.varieties of flavored coffee and sweet rolls. Rooms were cleaned and neat on our arrivals back at the hotel everyday. After a great days in Saint Augustine we returned home only to discover I had left my laptop. I grabed my phone and called the hotel. Jill answered the phone checked lost and found and found my laptop and backpack. She gave me a number of a service they use that would ouck up my laptop and send it Federal Express. 2 days later my laptop found its way home.Thank you Jill and Best Western hotels. We stay at Best Western whenever we travel and this was just a reminder why we stay with them and will continue to. Thank You Again Best Western Jill and the rest of the staff at Best Western Historic District

This hotel was a vast improvement to other BW I stayed previously. The suite was awesome and the staff was wonderful! My family celebrated my moms 86th birthday. Staff made her feel special on her special day.

This is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! We received excellent service, from a goody bag at check in, a call to our room to check on us, to a complimentary hot breakfast every morning. Every staff member encountered was pleasant and smiling, which created a very positive atmosphere for all guests. The rooms have been recently renovated and were very clean. Mini fridge and microwave in the rooms made traveling with kids easier (good to have snacks on hand), and the pool and hot tub were a bonus for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is walking distance to some restaurants and to the Old Town Trolley hub (Old Jail, etc), and the Fountain of Youth. The fort and historic district is a very short drive away. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Stayed for three nights onJuly and found hotel modern, clean and staff friendly and efficient. Complimentary breakfast catered for all needs and was unexpected. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to leave without experiencing all St Augustine had to offer. Only minor complaint, which really can't be helped, was the constant road noise when using the pool as its situated on the main road. However we used it daily as it was modern and the cleanest of all hotels we stayed at on this trip. Very satisfied.

A great option if you are stay in St. Augustine. This hotel is not in the old town section but a quick and convenient drive to the fort and old area sights. Extremely friendly and helpful staff willing to help travelers. Hot breakfast provided in the morning. Rates are very reasonable. If you have a larger family or staying for and extended stay, the suite is an excellent option. The suite has two bedrooms, large living area, and a full kitchen.

The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Everything is brand new. The rooms are beautiful and the design is pretty modern. Beds were very comfortable and The price is cheap for what you get. There is a small swimming pool that is across from the lobby. Everything was prefect there. Breakfast included - eggs potatoes, bagels, sausage, waffles, muffins, cinnamon buns, yogurts, cereals, oatmeals, juice, large selection of coffees, something for anyone. Q

We found this little gem on our road trip & only stayed one night with our 2 girls. We were created by a friendly front desk clerk at midnight. The rooms were very clean & updated. The breakfast the next morning really was the icing on the cake. The coffee was grounded right there before it poured into the cup & there was plenty to eat including a waffle bar, eggs, boiled eggs, sausage & yogurts. What a great stop along our way.

BW Historical was very nice hotel to stay, they serve a full hot breakfast everyday. I was greeted by Jill on my first day and then Christina and Debbie were awesome desk attendants, they were friendly, kind, and gave great suggestions on sites to see, places to eat and beaches. This staff went over and beyond what they are required to do. Very friendly and hospitable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Price was reasonable. Loved the wood floors in our room.

This best Western has very nice rooms We stayed in a two queen bed room Pleasantly surprised with its larger size of room. We had never been to Saint Augustine before. It was our stop over for a trip further south to Delray Beach. We were both very glad we stayed in this small town. It was very romantic.

Within walking distance of the trolley which takes you everywhere for 3 days for one price and is a bargain. As a Floridian I have to say I won't doth is again in the summer, Winter is way better. everyone I dealt with was great.

Very pleased. Got a great rate for a very nice and very clean room. It was my wife and I's anniversary which my wife told the ladies at the front desk. After signing in, they gave us some snacks for our room and as we entered our room, we found a nice card and another little gift from them. The room was spacious with very nice looking furniture, a microwave, coffee/tea maker, and a refrigerator. The swimming pool was pretty nice, though close to the highway, but their space is limited. The breakfast was good, though the space was small, but you could grab a tray and take your meal to your room if you wanted. Waffles, eggs, juice, several kinds of coffee/expresso, rolls, muffins, cereal and more were available. All the staff were so friendly and ready to meet whatever your needs were. Nice place to stay at a very nice price. Would definitely stay here again if we visit.

Great staff, helpful and friendly! Rooms were good, but needs some fix up. Rooms were clean. BFast included which is nice. Smokers suck! they go right outside their doors and smoke, it stinks everywhere!!

The Best Western Historical Inn was recently renovated and looked fantastic on the inside. The exterior was clean and well kept, and the rooms were fantastic. The decor and design of the rooms made them feel clean and fresh, and definitely above the cost of the room. The modern bathroom had great lighting for applying makeup (unlike most motels) and felt like it was sparkling clean. The beds were perhaps the most comfortable motel beds I've slept in with supple pillows and great soft sheets. Overall, the stay was great. Only complaint I would have would be the lack of available parking for the guests, as we had to park in an area that wasn't a designated spot when we arrived later in the evening to check in

We were very pleased with the updated, well-appointed room. Very comfortable bed and large bathroom with great shower! Front desk staff (Debbie) was friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was excellent, items were constantly restocked as needed.

This Best Western has been recently renovated and it is great! Nice rooms and comfortable bathrooms. Management is great and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. It is close to everything Saint Augustine has to offer without being crowded. Very affordable and comfortable. Do not miss the Mexican Restaurant closed by (walking distance) called El Potro. I would stay at this hotel again for sure.

This is not a big hotel, it is only 2 floors with outside entry. I didn't see an elevator, but that doesn't mean there isn't one, I just didn't see one. We arrived about 10:45 am, as my girlfriend had a business meeting at 12:30. The front desk clerk, Christina, greeted us with a smile and was so pleasant. She looked up our reservation and found a room that was ready, so she checked us in. (Regular check-in is 3:00 pm.) Then she handed us a "Goody bag" filled with 2 bottles of water and some snacks. That was a pleasant surprise! The hotel was recently remodeled and our room looked nice. You could tell the bathroom had just been done, everything was bright and clean. The big mirror had a light around the border, which made putting on make-up a dream. (Something lacking in other hotels.) There was no mold in the shower, it looked like it had just been installed. The tiles had a texture to them, which dressed up the look and was better than plain white tiles. Another pleasant surprise was finding 2 sets of toiletries in the bathroom for our use. I've never seen that before, maybe it's because my girlfriend said there would be 2 of us when she called the hotel the day before, I don't know, but it was nice to see. Another "new" technology we found was our key cards. The door locks look the same as what you're used to seeing, except you do not have to insert them. Just pass them in front of the scanner and it will unlock. Since it's not a big hotel, complimentary breakfast is in the lobby. The breakfast bar is located on the opposite wall when you first walk into the lobby to check in. There is a small area off to the right with some tables and chairs. We were expecting a continental style breakfast, but again, we were pleasantly surprised to see they had a hot breakfast available. You had a choice of orange juice and apple juice, fresh bananas and oranges, waffles you make yourself, cheese omelets, sausage patties, home fries (which were good), cereal, English muffins, and other assorted items. And yet, another surprise, they even had a coffee machine where you could make cappuccino, lattes and other choices. I would definitely come back again the next time I'm in St.Augustine.

Lobby and breakfast area tight but staff worked well with what they had. Parking was a little tight. Rooms were clean, breakfast good. Good Area not far from historical area. Staff was very helpful and friendly

The staff was fantastic; everyone was so nice. Very satisfied with the value. Breakfast is OK. Location is walkable to the old city and a short drive to the beach. Rooms have recently been redone. For the price point, it's a great inn.

Booked this hotel for a mini break with my husband for his birthday. When we arrived we were greeted by Jill. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful informing us of places to visit. She told us about "The Shuttle" into town it was so fun. Every time we saw Jill she would ask about our day and evening. The rooms have recently been renovated and are extremely clean and modern. Love the welcome bag you get at check in and the coffee machine is great! Will definitely recommend.

Enjoyed our stay here. It looks old outside but updated inside. New beds , furniture and bathroom. Breakfast is not bad at all. Very nice and helpful staff. However, parking is limited so if you decide to go back to hotel late at night, you probably would not have any space left. Small breakfast area too which it can only accommodate 10 or less. On the positive side, it is 5 to 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the old jail . Or if you decide to do the trolley, OLD TOWN TROLLEY can pick you up at the hotel. Honestly if you want to save money and hassle in parking and traffic , this hotel is 20 -25 minute walk to Ripleys and visitor information center . If you walk further you will reach castillo de san marco and the market area .

I enjoyed my stay at Best Western. Clean room, comfortable beds, and very nice staff. The guest room looked updated. The bathroom is modern. Not far from Castillo San Marcos and the museums. We walked everywhere.

This hotel made our St. Augustine Trip more convenient and fun because of it's central location.. We spent more time enjoying ourselves than driving. Staff was nice and breakfast was free and tasty! Great bargain!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were upgraded and clean. Breakfast was above average. Plenty of choices. Would have preferred to go swimming but the pool was full of debris from overhanging trees and the usual Florida bugs....was cleaned the next day.

My husband and I are on a road trip from Miami to DC and our first stop is in St. Augustine. We expected just the basics but were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Jill at the front desk was so sweet and gave us a lot of suggestions since it was our first time in the area. The room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. Breakfast, which was included in the package, was very good! It's very accessible to downtown and even though the weather was not good, we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back when we come back to St. Augustine!

My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. Rates during April/May were high so when we found a great rate here through Tripadvisor we jumped on it. When we arrived around 4pm our room was ready. Driving into the hotel, we noticed there was construction going on. The hotel is about 1 mile from the downtown historic district. Our room appeared to be very recently updated and refurbished. It was clean and well appointed. We quickly learned that the updating was still very active when we heard the banging from the construction. While in the room, I did notice several bugs and also noticed a large gap under the door where I'm sure they were coming in from (I informed them of this at checkout). The beds were very comfortable and linens were quality. We enjoyed the walk to and from the downtown area and even in the early morning hours felt safe along the route. We used the pool and it was nice although there were large ants everywhere. We were chased out of the Jacuzzi by management one of the nights because it was after hours. We kinda felt this was a little petty since we were being quite and not disturbing anyone. Overall, I would definitely stay at the B.W. Historic Inn but would probably wait until the construction was completed since it was a bit noisy and inconvenient.

We had been booked into a different note, but after one night in a nasty room we found this hotel. Very clean lobby, friendly desk staff. Our room was clean, fresh, and very nicely decorated. Clean room and bathroom. The breakfast was fresh and had a decent amount of options. I had my grandkids with me and the lady who kept the breakfast bar stocked and clean helped me carry a couple of trays back to our room when my hands were full with baby grandson. All of the staff were extremely helpful, courteous, and kind. The only one who wasn't was the best was the housekeeper who was peeved we were still in our room at 9:30 when she came to clean it. That was on our second day of a 4 day stay. After that she left us alone and cleaned our room after we left it, no mater what time that was.

This was one of the nicest Best Western hotels we have stayed at! We decided to stop in St Augustine on our way back to Florida from Atlanta. Without thinking about the holiday weekend, we were unable to get a place at the actual beach so we booked here. We were very pleased. It's only a little over a mile from the historic downtown. The hotel let us know about a very convenient golf cart taxi service that we used to go in to town for dinner and back. It was great .....only $3 per person and we didn't need to deal with the very heavy traffic and limited downtown parking. The lobby is small but adequate for the hot and cold breakfast buffet. The food was of a much higher quality than is normally found at 'Breakfast included' hotels. In addition, the beverages, bottled water and fruit were available after the breakfast serving time. The bottled water was a very nice touch. Our room was large, modern with a very large bathroom that included a walk in shower and double sinks. Towels and toiletries were good quality. The king size bed was very comfortable with good quality linens. The property itself is well kept. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We would definitely return and stay here. The downtown area can be quite nosy so we were going glad we ended up a mile out of town.

We booked this room online and were really expecting an average hotel. We were quite surprised with the quality of upgrades done throughout the hotel room, property, and even dining amenities. Our room was very spacious and had great upgrades through every part of it. The property seemed to also have a major over-haul as well. The dining area was not huge, but the absent expense of another paid meal made a huge difference for us. We enjoyed a FULL breakfast every morning and Kelly really knocked it out of the park taking care of the food, people, and cleanliness! She is outstanding!! We also had to get the help of Nelson, the Maintenance Supervisor, one day as one of our bicycles had broken. He is also an awesome member of staff there who went above and beyond to help us during our stay! He did whatever it took to get us on the road safely and happy again! Our only dislike of the entire stay was that the rest of hotel staff was just average - which was a commonality in that area for some reason. It seemed like they didn't mind doing their job, but don't ask for help or make them inconvenienced or they will give you attitude. It wasn't just here - it seemed to be at all of the restaurants, historical sites, etc. My opinion? We are a super easy couple so I truly believe that this town got a major overhaul of tourists a few years back (it wasn't like that when I was last here in 2006) and I don't know that many of the employees are enjoying the major boom in tourists. Coming from a town who is accustomed to tourists and snowbirds, we are used to how to handle their needs. I think as a whole, this is something that the city should consider as we felt awkward at times.

We planned a weekend event for our Chapter. 38 riders attended and we had 19 rooms reserved. These folks were phenomenal. From the start they worked with us and all our requests. Super job accommodating such a large group and all out needs. LaDella and her staff were all top stars. The rooms were very modern, great bathrooms, and total cleanliness. All the staff had warm welcoming smiles and eager to please. The breakfast spread was extensive and fresh. Every detailed was thoughtfully planned, they surprised us with a gift basket for every room. That was a great surprise. They folks made our stay unforgettable and we plan on making this a yearly event for our Harley Davidson Chapter. Nothing but highest ranking for this hotel and the people that made it such a memorable experience. Many thanks!!!
