Paper shoved inside door stoppers. TV quality for shows and movies was horrible. One tv and remote in my “suite” didn't even work. Along with this there were a few minor cosmetic details within the room like in the tub itself. There are also minor stains on the wall that seam to be dead bugs
This hotel has a helpful staff, great breakfast, and amenities. Additionally, it has a staffed bar which is nice because there aren't many in town.
This is the best hotel to stay at in Safford. The rate is always reasonable, and the staff always tries to accommodate. The fitness center is actually very good and clean.
Everything was great, my room key reader wouldn't work so I had to go back and forth to the front desk.
This was my second stay at the Best Western Plus in Safford. The room was of very good modern standard and exceptionally clean. Front desk staff at check-in was a bit indifferent but not an issue. Maybe she was having a bad day. We all do at times. The hotel has a bar open as part of the breakfast area with drink specials. My Irish Mule cocktail was excellent and she didn't scrimp on the Bushmills! The hotel is not really walking distance to any restaurants but several within 5 minutes drive. A good experience and I would stay again.
I searched 5 different hotels in the Safford/Thatcher area and Best Western had the better rates. All had contractors staying at their places as the main reason the rates were so high, but BW made the effort to accommodate my needs. Randi at the Front Desk was knowledgeable and easy to get along with as I had a few requests. The room itself, was wonderful… the moment I opened the door, it smelled so clean … but not like disinfectant. The bed was comfortable, and I had plenty of room, outlets, USB ports… I was set. The WiFi was pretty fast which was an additional bonus. Breakfast was always hot/cold depending on the food item. The food varied each day, too… so that was nice. Eggs/bacon/sausage & Biscuits/potatoes/… quite the choices! Jerica was working the kitchen area ( with another gal, but I never got her name) and everything was stocked and tables cleaned. During my stay, I found I needed extra cups/ coffee condiments , towel change, etc and Jaycie was always there with a smile and whatever I needed! I would not hesitate to stay here again… and I would encourage anyone else to stay there as well. Everyone was friendly, nice, helpful… just their all around BEST!!
My kids and I love staying at the Bestwestern Plus Safford. They love to play basketball and I love the location. It's also a very quiet & safe area. We've never had a problem! We always choose this hotel.
Great location and the rooms are very clean as well as to common space for guest. The bar has lots of plug if you want to work and enjoy a beverage. The staff is friendly enough, great bar tender. Breakfast is hot and with good variety.
This hotel is by far the best option for your money when staying in the area. The rooms are clean and updated. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast is hot and tasty, and the lounge is an added bonus!
The Best Western Plus is actually Best Western Copper Canyon and, in fact, caters to the mining community. This information is something worth knowing beforehand if you're expecting a typical family-oriented or business hotel. Our first impression upon arrival around 9 PM was a bit eye-opening, with numerous dirty (some filthy) and justifiably exhausted miners near the entranceway, visiting the adjoining bar whose hallway sign touted beers on tap and $5 shot specials! A welcome respite for these men who apparently spend a week or two at the hotel working 12-14 hour days in harsh conditions earning their keep. Best Western Plus is unique in the area to offer breakfasts as early as 4 AM to allow the men to get going bright and early before the heat of the day. We heard many doors slam shut at pre-dawn hours and wondered if a better idea might have been to keep all the miners together so as to minimize disturbance of other guests. Staff at Best Western Plus was a plus. I really enjoyed the gal at the front desk (who did double duty mopping the floors), those in the breakfast room who ended up ordering plain yogurt and bananas for me, the mechanic who replaced my dysfunctional window screen (with one that ended up having the same problem), and the pool cleaner who not only maintained the pool and jacuzzi to ultimate cleanliness but also came to remove all the hair clogging my sink and tub drains! Our “suite” was similar to a normal room, just longer – like a tube. Our beds were firm, TV worked without a hitch, and AC kept the room comfortable. Shower water pressure was barely more than a trickle though, and the carpeting was sufficiently dirty to intimidate me from doing my usual daily stretching routine. The exercise room was okay though it looked a little abandoned. I never saw anyone in there (or the pool, for that matter), and certain things were missing and never replaced throughout my stay (including the remote control and pool towels). Breakfast was a disappointment. Most of the food consisted of pre-packaged or reconstituted items that weren't exactly high on the food pyramid. The hot items (eggs, sausage, grits) were pre-made, industrialized style, then semi-heated to room temperature. What we tried was not good. Unappetizing would be polite. Even the coffee was weak, and my whole milk curdled. I suppose if I had been a rushed miner simply needing calories, I would have eaten here, but both of us chose to eat elsewhere to avoid any risk. On the last two days, I did find solace with a couple bowls of Special K (other healthy choices included Fruit Loops and Frosted Flakes) before walking down the street for a cappuccino at the Tiny Bean café stand. In all, I'm torn on how to properly rate Best Western Plus. I do think the hotel has potential, but the overall structure is a bit dated and lacks some charm. Plus, the current clientele success is a challenge towards Best Western targeting other audiences. The floors and elevators, for example, were in constant need of cleaning, and as soon as the miners left, the building felt lifeless. Most of the times that I passed by the front desk, it was unmanned. Nevertheless, it seems like Safford's options are limited. From what I saw, this was the best accommodations in the area, with the possible exception of the pricier Springhill Suites in neighboring Thatcher. So if decent lodging is what you need, along with the possibility of a great outdoor swim and a relatively quick walk into town for better coffee and breakfast, Cherry Wonderdog thinks Best Western Plus could be right for you!
The hotel and room were clean and easily accessible. Plenty of parking spots available. Only issue I had was the breakfast hot food was the same everyday. There is a lounge for after work hangout with alcohol available.
We were coming from out of town for a family reunion and I searched for rooms in Safford and decided on this Best Western and I'm happy we did! Nice place and decent price for rooms. Rooms were clean and nicely done and maintained. We had breakfast there was plenty of food and great variety.
I like this hotel in Safford because they have good bed, clean, and quiet Breakfast starts very early which We usually get up early to take off so it's very helpful. They have a bar inside of the hotel so it's really convenient to have a good time without driving.
Can't say enough about the quality of the experience and service. All I do is walk to the counter on check-in and everything is ready to go. My receipt is already printed and ready for me at check out. The rooms are almost always perfect. I have stayed here weekly for over one year and would have expected an occasional hip cup but I experienced none.
I was happy with my stay at BW..slept like a baby and the service I receive was great! The young lady that checked me in gives great customer service and the bar, met good people and drinks were great!
Nice hotel in Safford Arizona. Front desk staff are excellent, it seems most of the guests are workers and crews however I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay. My girlfriend was happy with the cleanliness and the hotel is pet friendly, which I appreciate. I wish much success to the Best Western Plus Safford. Thank you for a great 2 night stay.
Whenever we travel to the Gila Valley our number one choice is always BW plus. Comfy queen suites that fit our whole family including the dogs. They serve delicious hot and cold breakfast items. Plus they provide free EV charging! We are never disappointed when staying at Best Western Plus in Safford!
Enjoying the morning breakfast when we see the Cafe worker and Custodial Supervisor sit down and drink a beer at the bar in the dining area. Another employee served them directly from the beer well and looked like a common practice. Neither employee was disturbed that guest were in their presence.
This beautifully kept property deserves more than 5-stars & is what the Best Western Brand is all about. Although renovated 2-years ago, it appears as if it were redone last month. Rooms are pristine, beds are comfortable, lobby & common areas are clean, immaculate, welcoming & inviting. Computer services are great, staff are friendly & they have an amazing (almost new) 3-month old lounge with an experienced bartender, Brendan, who will do all he can to make your stop in a pleasant one. NOTE: They even serve Moscato! Breakfast was included & nicely stocked. We can't say enough about this beautiful property & will compliment their manager, Martin, to the Best Western Corporate Offices about how well this property is run. We gave 5-star review on Google as well.
Decent price, good room, it's one of the better hotels for the price. The pool had some bugs but I've heard that's common in AZ. Even got delivery through door dash straight to my room. I will definitely stay again.
This originally was a Comfort Inn, then it got some upgrades and became an independently owned hotel called Copper Canyon. Then, in about late 2019/early 2020, it got a complete remodel and was re-branded as Best Western-Plus, which probably was the best thing to happen for the Safford area. Have stayed at most of the hotels in this area since 2018. Spring Hill Suites previously was my favorite, but they have been slacking on their breakfast for some time - it's now barely above cheap, 2-star continental, and sometimes is not even ready at the time advertised, so Denny's across the parking lot is a better option. At $155 (incl. taxes)/night, SHS no longer is as good a value as a $133 (incl. taxes)/night BW+ stay, which comes with much better breakfast variety and a start time of 4:00 a.m. - perfect for mine employees, contractors and others whose days start early. This BW+ is comparable to SHS in room quality, decor, comfort, ease of access and amenities, but sprints ahead with its nightly rate, breakfast offerings, afternoon bar and overall value. A good role model for other local hotels to follow!
So glad we are staying here tonight instead of the neighboring property the staff is very kind and the place is immaculate. They care about the breakfast they serve and try to give the best quality they can. That says a lot for the young ladies working there this morning. I didn't cath the names but this is being written on April 27 in the morning. Just a good clean hotel with friendly staff.
I have not stayed at a Best Western for as long as I can remember. It was always a value hotel and lower on the scale of hotels that I chose to stay. I travel a ton for work and pleasure. Best Western would not be one on the list, until it was only one of a couple on the list. I stayed in Snowflake and was so pleased that I stayed in Safford too! I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was pretty cool they had a happy hour lounge when I checked in! This is a genius use of the breakfast space. The budget hotel I remember, now closely resembles the higher end that I elect to enjoy while I am away from home. It will be one to consider the next time it pops up on the list! I even signed up to get membership benefits. This was the first of many I may chose in the future! Way to step it up Best Western! I love the fresh feel and the colors, well done!
This hotel was excellent. We were traveling to watch college baseball games. Not only was their rate better than others in the area, the experience was exceptional. Very clean rooms. Courteous, friendly, and accommodating staff, including house keeping staff. Everything was as expected. Pleasantly no surprises - great hotel! Will certainly look for Best Western Plus hotels for future travel.
This hotel is very nice and the staff is very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, I'd recommend travelers bring their own pillows as the ones in the room are so fluffy you will get a stiff neck sleeping on them. Also, if you book online with rewards points your credit card on file will automatically get charged $29.99. You can get this reversed by mentioning it at check out, but I feel this shouldn't be necessary.
This hotel was over priced for the experience I received. I should of just chosen a cheaper best western or another hotel chain based off of the experience of my last visit. Seems like they want full price for rooms but give you less and less service and quality in order to meet their bottom line.
A great hotel. Very clean and super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and bed was super comfortable. Best place to stop while in the area. Close to Mt Graham and Roper State Park for fishing.
The facility is new, well kept and everything works. The pillows are not wimpy like at other properties. Mattresses excellent, Internet adequate, breakfast adequate which in these COVID days of grab and go sack Continental breakfast is nice. The only caveat is, if you are not a mine vendor or worker who is getting up at 4:00 or 5:00, you might want a room at the end of the hall or on the top floor because some of the guests are heavy of foot and not very cognizant of noise that early.
It has wood floor rooms - usually wonderful but I had my shoes off and my feet were black with dirt from the floor. One would expect the housekeeper would push a wet swiffer around the floor everyday. Otherwise, comfy beds, nice rooms & pet friendly. Good amenities. Just get those floors mopped!
The hotel was a really nice place from the front as we drove up to the door to check out time. All staff were professional and kind. The room was far beyond my expectations for cleanliness. And the free breakfest is a plus. Great time thank you.
My stay was wonderful, staff was friendly, room was clean, coffee was fresh The parking was great and convenient, I will use this hotel again for future trips. I was very pleased with my stay and hope to stay again!
Appreciated the let friendliness and laundry facility. The breakfast station was so hot we felt terrible for the gal working there. Head maintenance man was the most callous, gruff individual I've encountered in awhile. I asked him to help us turn on hot tub because the know was missing. He had no intention of helping us until I suggested using a wrench. When I thanked him, he completely ignored me. It was fixed the next day, but this guy needs a serious refresh in hospitality and customer service.
Great place. I was leading a group of 14 motorcycles and the front desk personal were very friendly and professional. She made the whole process very easy and enjoyable. She put us all close together as I had requested.
The service was great all around! Definitely recommended for anyone traveling through, best hotel in town and by far the most comfortable hotel we've stayed in, and we will more then likely be returning
Very clean and modern hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful if I had any questions. Very reasonable rates and ended up staying an extra night very accommodating to let me have the same room.
This is either a new or recently renovated property. We stayed midweek in a “suite.” More of large room than a suite, but a big room. New, stylish contemporary decor with a great workstation. Lots of easy to reach outlets and USB ports throughout the room. Two 40” TVs. Comfy bed with lots of pillows. Very clean. But, all was not as nice. The shower, while spotlessly clean, had terrible water pressure. There wasn't any coffee left 15 minutes after the start of breakfast, and nobody around. The hot breakfast was a joke. Frozen “omelets,” and I kid you not, the “bacon” was just a mass of tiny bacon bits. You would have needed a spoon to eat it. Checkin staff was very pleasant, and recommended some local restaurants, one of which we ate at and enjoyed our meal. So, if you can deal with low water pressure and assume no breakfast, you're golden, as the room itself was great.
Hotel was clean with nice appearance Room was clean, quiet, lots of space Front desk was professional and personable I will stay at the same hotel on my next trip to the area. I would highly recommend
This Safford hotel was super clean, close to restaurants, and grocery stores. Rooms were spacious and beds very comfy. If you need a stopping point enroute to Phoenix, this is the place. Would definitely return.
Coming into town for one night and not familiar with the town we stayed here. Very clean, quiet and comfortable bedding. The do offer a to go breakfast with the COVID at this time. Check in was very easy and the desk clerk very pleasant. Plenty of parking and felt very safe. Easy to find off the highway. I would stay here again if going thru Safford.
Was in for a one night stay as I had business at the Morenci Mine. The staff allowed me to check in about 45 minutes early which was nice because I had to get ready to conduct an orientation. Room was very clean and all employees wore masks. Great experience and better value.
The hospitality was fantastic. The rooms were clean and it was a great place to stay. Our son is autistic and one of the house keeper made his stay fantastic. The breakfast was warm and the coffee was great.
Love to stay here when in Safford the staff is very professional and the atmosphere is friendly and always polite, The Manager Martin Valdez is professional and is always caring on how are stay is here .So If you need a place to stay while traveling or working in town this is the place to stay! Thank you!!
Outside is quiet. Inside, you can hear every room door slam shut. Every time it closes. That is bad design. This is a new hotel and the rooms are very large. They are tastefully decorated and ours included a fridge and microwave. The amenities were of good quality. It is a nice hotel, just noisy on the inside. Check in was frightfully slow, even though I was the only person checking in. There were three staff in the reception area but the person checking me was the only one who would answer the phone, keeping me wating.
On a trans-USA cycle tour, and four of us got great value in a huge room with two queen beds and a sofa bed. Immaculately clean and great breakfast. $100 for the four of us is a deal. Friendly staff and free snacks on arrival
The toilet was clogged and wouldn't flush. The "I'm new" front desk personnel didn't do anything to remedy the situation. My request for a humble toilet plunger to unclog it myself was met with a blank look followed by several minutes of opening various closets in a futile attempt to locate one. Contributing to this charming ambiance was the apparent family wrestling match above us, and what might be characterized as pain threshold decibel level door slamming, the most frequent and loudest I've ever experienced in any hotel. The thin walls did little to prevent us from hearing the television next door. The sluggish wifi connection was reminiscent of dial-up speeds. Avoid, unless you've a penchant for urinating in dark parking lots because the toilet in your room doesn't flush. You are welcome.
Stayed here for a night as part of our USA road trip. Hotel was clean, well run and well equipped with friendly staff. Beds were comfy and room a good size. Would use this place again if we ever find ourselves in the area.Sausage patties at breakfast were excellent!
So overall beds were good, pillows good, room overall clean. The wifi worked well. So here's a couple of suggestions... Our room- #107 has some maintenance items. First of all, the bathroom faucet has a granite shelf above it, but so close you can hardly get much volume of water coming out of it. To reach behind and pull up the sink stopper is quite the feat... Also, the water control for the tub/shower requires muscle even to move it- not to mention the color code of hot and cold is just the opposite of what really happens. A formula for a nice burn here... The breakfast- while it's nice to have a hot breakfast, like several other reviews had mentioned- the hash browns are less than cooked, mostly all white. The eggs were mostly dried out and made from some kind of egg mix, just like most basic hotels. The thing that really bothered me was the fact that at 9:15, when my wife wanted her breakfast, the dude in charge of the breakfast had cleared out all the hot food items, leaving very few choices left to eat, such as toast and juice. If you tell guests, breakfast is served until 9:30, I would expect that at 9:15, you would still have all the choices available you'd have at 6:30.... Maybe they're trying save a few dollars here, by cutting food costs... not sure, but this had also been mentioned in other reviews. I own some retail stores, and when I get a negative comment, I immediately work on correcting it. Not sure why the other reviews go unheeded here.
As a long-time Choice Hotels Diamond Elite member who has stayed at hundreds of different Choice hotels, I can say that this one is high on the list. It has a lobby that you might expect to see in a more expensive hotel, and the rooms are large, well-furnished, and clean. Our room had a small sofa, coffee table, and an extra chair - items that you don't typically see in a Comfort Inn... very comfortable! The room furnishings are not cheap, and the beds are very comfortable. If I had to make one suggestion for improvement, it would be to replace the shower head with one that has multi-adjustable spray patterns. The breakfast buffet is much better than most... in addition to sausage and scrambled eggs, there were 2 types of potatoes, which makes for a great hot breakfast! This hotel is conveniently located just far enough from the main street that you don't hear the traffic noise, the check-in experience was positive, and our entire stay was great! We stayed here several years ago and had a similar experience, which is why we chose to stay here again.
