Best Western Victor's Residenz-Hotel Rodenhof

Our stay was very sad, which was only made worse by the unhelpful staff at reception. The rooms were very dimly lit, washroom was tiny and the shower didnt work properly, it was too old. I almost slipped twice while getting out of the bath. very little counter space on the sink.

We've spent two nights here and everything was ok. The room was very spacious and relatively clean. Minimal dust here and there. The building itself it's pretty old but it's well taken care of. I've enjoyed the spa area very much. The pool was big enough and clean and the water had the perfect temperature. The sauna was also well sized and clean. The only down part was that the Dampfbad was out of order. The restaurant was very neat and the staff extremely friendly. We've enjoyed a dinner buffet on the first night and that was delicious. Lots of food to choose from. Breakfast was also great with a lot of variety. The fitness area was incredibly small and not much to do in it. Overall it was a good experience and we would probably go back.

The hotel was much nicer than what I was expecting except for the surly waiter at dinner. I got a very nice welcome at reception by Miss Stein on arrival. The room was nice overlooking the garden with a comfortable bed but I could hardly squeeze past the toilet into the tight-fitted shower in the corner. I went to the indoor pool which was about 15 metres long and quite wide and had a very nice swim. There were sunbeds next to the pool and there was a sauna with showers nearby. The fitness room was tiny and under-equipped so I didn't bother using it. They should at least add a decent bike like a Life Fitness bike and a treadmill. I had dinner in the hotel and the food was fine but the service wasn't. It would be nice if the waiter could be a little bit more friendly instead of seeming like he's just waiting it out until he can retire. I couldn't understand either why I had to fill in a form to eat there when I was a guest at the hotel and had showed my Covid sanitary pass on check-in. Overall I was pleased with the stay and will come back next time I'm in the area (once the waiter has retired).

Very pleasant hotel, parcing on the street or the garage. The personnel is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast outstanding. The rooms (superior) are big (for German hotels) and have a nice sitting area.

Decent Hotel, lots of facilities, good staff, large room, plentiful and varied breakfast. Would have rated this establishment far higher, if it were not the fact that if you are located at the front of the Hotel there is a severe noise issue! After a very long drive and hoping for decent nights rest, before another long drive the next day. Being a warm night we opened the window as you would! First issue and the biggest, across the road is an area with a BBQ, seating and sheds, where congregated local personnel singing, drinking and playing loud music to their hearts content, well into the night and to be heard by anyone and everyone! So we closed the windows, it was then very hot as there is no aircon. And you can still hear the party going on! Later you hear the trains in the industrial sized sidings adjacent, all the cars passing and stopping outside the hotel and then the early morning delivery vehicles. Those in the know book the other side of the Hotel! I wont go back, as that was the worst nights rest in a BW Hotel anywhere ever; but if you are reading this and booking a room, do not stay on the road side or you you wont get much rest if any!

Aside from the no AC the hotel is fabulous! Parking is secure. The front desk personnel are amazing. The breakfast is to die for. There was a full spread. I just couldn't sleep in the heat. I had to go out and buy a fan.

This 4 star hotel is a perfect hotel in a quite area, the breakfast is delicious and enough as a quick breakfast. Rooms are great especially rooms with balconies (i.e. 907, 902). They also offer you a late check out.

Overall a comfortable experience. They have a temperature controlled pool and a Sauna and fitness centre. The breakfast buffet has huge variety along with eggs to order. Friendly staff adds comfort to your stay.

This hotel is OK and my room was quite nice. I was given however a room in a different room category. My booking was a Junior Suite and I was given a Superior Room. When I complained at the reception they said I did have a junior suite. The room was missing key elements of their room description. It had no balcony and had no sofa bed. So it wasn't possible to change the room into a family room. The price difference was €70 and even if my room had the extra elements it should have, getting a junior suite seems to be the same as a superior double room. My room didn't represent in either the description or pictures what I should have got. The hotel was unhelpful in correcting this error. This is similar to a scam. If you do choose this hotel, save yourself the money and get a superior double or get a suite. Location of the hotel isn't good for the city but I knew that in advance.

Clean and tidy, well kept. Restaurant does a good/sometimes great job. Front desk was extremely helpful. Location is a bit out-of-the-way from anything of interest (including food), but the residential area is quite nice and calm. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. Would stay here again, though I would prefer something a bit closer to downtown.

Couldn't fault this hotel lovely stop over,very clean room,comfy large bed, brill nights sleep and good breakfast included.Free parking available. Would definitely stay again.Only a short drive to center.

Basically a hotel aimed at the businessman or the able bodied. Food was good and service was impeccable. I would have no problems whatsoever recommending the Weiner Schnitzel or the Ice cream with warm raspberry sauce both were excellent.

Exactly what you expect Clean, comfortable, efficient, great breakfast, very good restaurant, friendly staff . You really could not wish for more. It has a very nice terrace area for relaxing when the weather permits. Did not get a chance to sample the spa area but from the amount of guests visiting it, I get the impression it must be very good.

Stayed at this venue for one night on our return from the Tyrol. Our bedroom was superb as was the dinner and breakfast. In our case, all the food was self-catering. The staff are courteous and the presentation of all the food was beautiful with good choices. This venue is nicely appointed and the entrance hall in particular is quite stunning. There is a very nice patio and a pebbled garden area. Would highly recommend this venue.

Stayed here for one night after recommendation from a friend. Nice room, good breakfast variety, nice pool and sauna area. They also have a spa available. Only drawback: the hotel is in a quiet residential area - so either you eat at the hotel (they have a decent variety) or you have to drive downtown.

We stayed here for 3 nights while in town visiting family. It was a decent place. It's definitely pretty basic. Don't expect to be to impressed with this Hotel. This hotel does include breakfast which was fine. It does have a pool, which I did check out. The fitness center, which is one of the reason's that I booked this hotel was less seriously lacking gym equipment. The room is tiny and had just one cycle which wasn't very high quality. It also had a few weights and a mat. But that was it! So if your looking for a hotel that includes a fitness center, you might want to look elsewhere. The rooms are basic and a bit outdated, but clean. I ordered room service which was terrible!! So I didn't even try the restaurant located in the hotel. The hotel is situated in a residential area. We rented a car which we were able to park on the street or the parking garage located at the hotel. It was about a 10 minute drive to downtown Saarbruecken from the hotel. Overall, this hotel was sufficient for our needs. The service was basic and a bit underwhelming. But there doesn't seem to be a lot of hotel options in Saarbruecken, so this met our needs just don't expect to feel wowed!

Hotel room was too small to justify price, no safe in room most unusual for a business type hotel, no alarm clock in room, no mini bar, no clothes storage draws, dismal black furniture, very limited lighting in room no ceiling light in room ..only table type lamps plus a standard lamp, no ac, room very hot even with windows open even in February. Receptionist chewing gum at check out. Disappointed. Positives breakfast pretty good nice friendly waitress Frau Ulrich.

We stayed here for a weekend and were pleasantly surprised. The room is big and well furnished, the emplyees very friendly and helpful. The pool itself is bigger than in other hotels we stayed. We will definitely come back.

I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel for business and really enjoyed my time here. The room was clean and the breakfast offered a great variety of food. The only downside is that it is quite far away from the city center, so it is better to have a car if you are planning to stay there. I recommend this hotel and will stay again there if I ever come back to Saarbrücken.

Probably one of the best places I've been staying lately. Clean, neat, cozy, quite, close to everything that is around, easily accessible. The staff is very professional, attentive to very little detail.

Stopped overnight on way back to UK Room lovely and large - it was very hot as no airconditioning The buffet in the evening was excellent and plentiful. Sat in patio area with a drink. Breakfast was a bit full and two groups were leaving but very good value

Where can I start? I loved the place. Staff cannot do enough for you. I had emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and informed them that we might get to the hotel earlier than check in time. We would have been travelling over night and could it be possible to have the room around 1pm. We managed to get to Saarbrucken at 9.30 am and I went into the hotel to let them know we were here, not expecting the room to be ready at all. It was!! It made my day because we had been awake from 6:30 am Friday morning. So top marks for that. Our room was on the ground floor and very spacious. It was a themed room of the sea which was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the room was immaculately clean. It was also very quiet too. We had a look around the hotel before going into Saarbrucken centre. There was a good sized pool with loungers around it. The bar area was cosy and clean. The restaurant side was wonderful, lovely colour schemes. There was a patio outside the restaurant which looked wonderful. Breakfast was really good. If you wanted a cooked breakfast there was that available. Some one even requested an omlette, which looked nice. We stuck to the continental buffet and treated ourselves to smoked salmon daily (expensive in Britain) and other things off the buffet. The hotel itself is situated in Rodenhof and there are regular buses to the city centre. If ask for the Saarland card bus travel is free. We ended up walking most days because the weather was nice. It took us around 30 minutes. We ended up using taxis to get back late at night and they cost around 8 euros from the train station. All in all a fantastic three days and fab start to our tour of Germany.

We stopped off at this hotel for one night en route eastwards. The rooms were spacious and clean, with lovely large windows that let in a lot of light. While not particularly large, the breakfast buffet was perfectly adequate, with a decent selection of fruits, breads, and pastries. However, it's the little things that were slightly lacking - most notably the air conditioning in the bedrooms. While we were provided with a fan, this really didn't do much against the stifling summer heat.

My stay here was unplanned. The June weather was warm and I was surprised to find rooms had no air-conditioning despite the status of the hotel. I was given a two room suite and was shown up to the room. I found the furniture to be dated as was the rest of the hotel. The bathroom was the semi highlight but the shower temperature control was non existent. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were flat. The sofa was not comfortable at all. The staff were very nice, their English was excellent. Grounds and location were beautiful. On-site restaurant is a Micheline Star rated which drives up prices for all the eating locations. I think the target audience is a bit old the my mid 40 something group I am in.

Instead of the quiet room I had asked for, I got a room above the day room of the personnel, towards the parking lots and the marshalling yard of the main station of Saarbrücken. They also have the by far tiniest bathroom I ever saw in my life. You have to twist yourself around the WC in order to enter into the tiny shower cabin. And when soaping yourself you are cutting off the shower spray as the water mixer tap is in always the way. I got a large salad from the restaurant. It was not very elaborate nor fresh, came but drowned in rather cheaply tasting balsamico. It was served quite negligently, with the least effort.

OK, this hotel looks a little old-fashioned - apart from the dining room, which has had a really unfortunate "trendy" refurbishment (silver wallpaper, furry lightshades with an interesting fake antler design, etc...). But it's comfortable and completely clean. Receptionist staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Really nice swimming pool in the basement. It's not in the city centre but only about a 15 minute walk away in a quiet area.

It was the second visit from me after some years. Normally I'm not a fan of Best western hotels. But here it is different. Higher standard than in other Best Western hotels. Great beds, big clean rooms and a really great service..the staff also in the restaurant is very friendly ... football pay TV evenings are possible ... and the food in the restaurant was delicious ... unfortunately this visit I had no time to use the spa area ... in my memory it is very good ... so, next time in Saarbrücken we'll see us again ... I forgot ... it is a very quite hotel ...thanks

i have been there several times, but this time, a bit disappointed. Half of the lights didn't work in the room, bathroom was not clean. Food soso, breakfast quite ok. Swimming pool and sauna were ok. Not sure if i will go back

Stayed here for 2,5 weeks, Although in planned only 1,5 week. It was no problem staying longer. When i arrived i was welcomed with a free drink by a friendly staff The hotel is located outside the centre . The room was big and clean The breakfast was very good The restaurant offers a very good meal i enjoyed their steaks very much

I stayed in this hotel for only 4 nights but nevertheless it was a wonderful stay. The staff at the reception and at the breakfast hall were all very nice, accommodating and helpful. This is despite the fact that most of the staff attending in the restaurant don't speak much English, but nonetheless they're doing their best to make guests well attended to. Aside from being professional, the staff at the reception were extra friendly and warm. As for me, since I had a delayed baggage (my checked luggage only showed up a day before my hotel checkout), the receptionists really tried their best to ease my burden. They provided me with my small requests and also pointed me to the right department store (read: affordable merchandise) where to buy the urgent bare essentials.

On my business trip through Southern Germany I also stayed at the Best Western Victor´s Residenz in Saarbrücken. The hotel is conveniently located near the Autobahn once you figure out you have to drive by the "Einfahrt verboten" sign warning that you are only supposed to go there when you live there. In total this is a nice hotel - I stayed in room 119 and paid around 120 EUR parking included (covered parking available and charged extra). Unfortunately I had a pretty bad night in the hotel because the room I had is placed above the breakfast room. And the service people responsible for breakfast do not care about the sleep other people have. So at 4:45 I woke up by loud laughter and the sound of crashing plates on tables. The breakfast room windows and doors were all open and so this ended my sleep in this hotel. No chance to sleep with this noise and I am usually not that picky about noises. But the noise of plates crashing against each other is a sound that really keeps you awake. So I think I can recommend the hotel... but make sure you get a room as far as possible away from the breakfast room. What I liked + quiet location of the hotel though near the highway + large covered parking (paid) + friendly staff + large rooms + nice bar + Reasonable pricing + clean What I didn´t like - very noisy and the noise is caused by service staff - WiFi slow and bumpy - Bar service personal slow and not very friendly - No signs how to find the hotel entrance from the covered parking - Stairs between covered parking and elevators - booked a double room but got a single room

Arrived around 20:30 and the night check in staff did not seems to care much we had to ask questions example Breakfast times /WIFI info/Check out times, we felt they did not care much for their positions and it made the first impression not a good one Room was good especially the BOGNER shower and bath soap. we ordered a cot for our child it was waiting in our room - WIFI coverage was excellent our baby phone worked fine with the WIFI Then we went to the bar for a drink service was OK until some kitchen / hotel staff all finished their shifts congregated in the small bar. As a customer you don't want to hear the staff complaining about work / lives and the Bar person paid little attention to us after this I hadto get his attention twice to order drinks

We stayed here for a few days to explore the surroundings. All staff was very friendly and welcoming. The fitness area was relaxing and we enjoyed the pool. Everything was clean. The furnishing and the architecture may not be from 2016 but for the price we were very happy with what we got. If we return to this area we will consider staying here again.

Very comfortable and well appointed hotel. Great staff and good food available for both dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately we only had a short overnight stay with late arrival and early departure next morning, so not enough time to enjoy all the facilities on offer such as swimming pool etc.

Only flaw was no Air Conditioning, BUT, Room 119 backed on to the back of hotel and the area of the hotel was soo nice and quite that I opened the window and used the fan (scarce in Germany) given to me to bring in the nice cool night air. Normally this would cause me issues and I would have to wear ear plugs to sleep, but it was soo quiet, it was perfect for sleeping. The hotel also had a nice bar and fantastic breakfast. I never had dinner as I went out at night - it was about a 25 minute walk from town to the hotel which I needed after eating all the great local food. All the hotel staff were more than friendly and took care of anything I asked for. where people could sit and eat of have drinks

This hotel was by far the best place to stay in our six weeks of vacation in Italy and Germany. We really enjoyed the fantastic breakfast each morning ... an well as swimming in the great pool in the afternoon. The staff was very helpful in preparing us for our travel adventure in Saarland. The value of our stay was "best"..

Good hotel in a calm location. Easy to find parkplace around (free). The restaurant serve good food and the breakfast is good. The must is the big and warm swimming pool (29C).Fitness is very small. There is also a sauna and a Hammam.The rooms are nice and clean. Some of them looks different, it seems they have been refurbished.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and quiet. Easy parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast buffet with fruits, salmon, eggs,... The pool and Sauna were relaxing. Except for one evening, where the shouting of a family with small children made it impossible to enjoy.

It is more a 3.5 than a 4 due to the depressing room with the old design and the bathroom too small. On the common space only the breakfast room has been redesigned. You definitely need a car. The pool is large. Nice service and reception.

At this hotel expect very very poor service, staff is going to be rude sarcastic & very disrespectful. I would definitely not go back ever. I was there because of a boxing event, wich the promotion company had all exspensive covered, but the lady at the front desk made us feel very uncomfortable in the way she was speaking to us /me , like I was telling her a lie, when we where trying to check out she ask us to pay for wich ever food was eat on my room although I had clear proof in writing that the promotion company covers everything. She got very sarcastic with me & Disrespectful. I had a much better experience at the other victors.. hotel wich is close to the casino... I was very disappointed about this kinda treatment.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly efficient service, excellent value for money. Quality food available in the restaurant and the possibility of al fresco dining if the weather permits. Large well equipped and comfortable rooms.

Stayed here for business purposes for 1 night during this week. I was kindly welcomed by staff on arrival to the hotel. Room was very clean and up to date,with a power shower, always welcomed with open arms! Had a meal in the restaurant, was treated exceptionally well. I never went hungry or thirsty for too long. Took a walk outside the back, around the lake, to walk off the excess pounds I had just put on, after I'd eaten the highly recommendable Mixed Grill. I then sat at the bar, where I found myself engaged in polite conversation with an extremely charming girl who worked behind the bar. I ended up drinking late into the night, learning how to speak German in the process. In the morning after I'd woke up from a very comfortable sleep, I went for a continental breakfast, just the remedy for a fuzzy head after a handful or so of beer. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the future and will hopefully be using this hotel on a regular basis over the next few years. Unless the girl behind the bar leaves ofcourse...

The Victors Residentz Hotel – no air conditioning at all and so very hot in the dining room and bedrooms; it was probably 3*, nice big bedroom, twin beds, rather hot and stuffy even with windows open, fairly cool outside. At dinner the waiter got our drinks order wrong and forgot about the next table's wine. Dinner consisted of a three course buffet – there was very little choice on all 3 courses but the food that was available was acceptable, although something was very salty so spoiled the taste of the entrée. My large beer was only half full! Good shower, extractor fan didn't work. Wifi was limited and only available by the bedroom door!

Stayed 1 night for business. Weather was very warm (26C) which made the room hot and stuffy even with the window open, No air-con, but hey no problem, I'll ask for a fan, no fans available, after 8 hours of driving, have an uncomfortable nights sleep. Would not have been an issue in winter, but its summer. But room was very clean and fresh, restaurant and bar were great with great staff, breakfast very good, free wifi great speed. Staff were very helpful and friendly, except at check out. Why do reception staff answer the phone when they have started to check you out. This really annoys me! Lastly all hotels should have in room Tea and Coffee facilities.
