when we arrived Steve and Jessica welcomed us like we were family. The breakfast was standard breakfast. The room was clean and amazing. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return to stay again. The grounds were kept pristine. The hotel itself looked like a cute skiing village. Could not have been happier nice quiet and very relaxing weekend
Great environment and the staff was great! Tammy and Jessica were a great help. The rooms were cery clean and taken care of. The continental breakfast was fresh and super tasty. I stayed a previous time at this hotel and decided to again because of how great it is!
Staff is wonderful and kind. Breakfast has multiple waffle irons, tons of selection and gluten free options. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. Brought my 2 small dogs. Great space for them to relieve themselves and baggies available to clean up if you forgot your own! I'll definitely come back here to ski and hike.
The beds are comfortable. The suites are so nice. I love being able to cook while on extended stays. The staff is amazing. Tammy works the breakfast in the mornings. She's so friendly. She has always made great suggestions for visiting places around the area.
Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, convenient location for skiing at Killington. Breakfast is fresh, lots of options, love the waffle irons. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. I have stayed at this Best Western for the past 5 ski seasons and I always have a positive experience.
Do not stay on ground floor. It is very noisy. Ask for a second floor unit. Breakfast was excellent. Location to Killington is perfect- Only about 15 minutes away. Staff seemed overwhelmed as we were told it was the busiest week they have all year, but they were nice.
I stayed here with my 4 kids, 17, 15, 12, 8. The suite had enough space for all of us plus a kitchen to cook dinner which is a great money saver. It was 15 minutes away from Killington mountain and much more reasonably priced than area hotels during Presidents Week. I would stay here again if we decide to ski Killington again.
Room needed to be remolded, there was peeling paint on the walls and ceiling, bathroom fixtures were old and the coating was flaking off. Carpet was dated. Room smelled like marijuana from the room next door. on the positive side. the towels were clean.
We stayed at the Best Western in Rutland for a night of rest after a long drive on our way to Killington ski area. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel is. The hotel is made up of several buildings containing about 8 units each. Our room was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities. The included breakfast was half decent and acceptable.
We always go to this hotel when we go sking at Killington. The staff is very nice, the breakfast and the little afternoon treats are much appreciated by my kids. The suites are just perfect for a family of four. We had a wonderful trip once again thanks to the employees!
The suite is very comfortable with a kitchen full equipped and a very nice living room and a very big bedroom with a king size bed. breakfast was included. We had a little problem with the heating but they solve the problem very soon and in a very professional way. Al the staff is very good. The hotel is nice and close to killington slopes for skiing, just 10 minutes by car. I highly recommend it.
Nicest staff ever and rooms are great. Clean and warm! Jessica at the front desk is super. Close to town and skiing. Breakfast buffet is delicious and 24 hour coffee. Parking is easy and convenient. I have stayed here before and will come back again.
We had a nice room and excellent service from Tammy, Marie,Ken, and Jessica. From front desk, maintenance and Dawn from house keeping. We actually have stayed from November to January We appreciated the stay and would recommend it to other work companies. Thank you.
We had a wonderful ski trip staying at this Best Western. The staff was friendly and efficient from the front desk check-in to the kitchen crew at breakfast to the cleaning staff which kept us clean and well stocked with fresh towels and other essentials.
This was totally and completely a great experience. Stella at the front desk with customer relations is a star. Such a helpful and pleasant person to work with. We had been on the road for a few days and she made a big different on our one night stay....enough of a positive to add this Best Western inn to our list of return-to properties. She knows her job.....brava Stella!
A clean hotel near what you need to be near to in the area of Rutland and Killington. Comfortable beds. NOISY AIR CONDITIONER but considering we visited during the late summer heatwave, we were glad to be cool. Happy to grab an apple and maple candy at check-in.
Comfortable, clean room, extremely helpful staff, very home like atmosphere. Great breakfast. Well maintained pool, outdoors but heated. Family friendly atmosphere in a village type setting. Lots of outdoor green space for kids to run. Close to everything in Rutland but not in a busy area.
We had a great stay here with the family. I think our favorite part was the breakfast in the morning, so much variety to satisfy everyone. I was impressed with the service at the breakfast area. We are checking out today and just left the breakfast area, that was a busy place to be. Tammy did an excellent job keeping ontop of everything; that woman can go. Back and forth she whizzed around getting everything clean and refilled. A one woman show, to say the least. Great service and personality. The only improvement I can see necessary, is a tip cup. This woman Tammy did such a great job, I feel as though she absolutely needs a tip cup. I have worked in the service industry for a long time and service like this deserves to be rewarded. Customers like myself, look for that tip cup, to show appreciation to the server for a job well done. Overall, great experience. Please get that woman a tip cup, or a mounted box with a lock that says "tips accepted" she deserves it.
We saw a junkie walking on the sidewalk while we were driving there. It skewed my expectations of the town and the hotel. We were here for a wedding so didn't have much of a choice. The room feels outdated with the wallpaper choice and the thick tv. The shower has very little pressure. The beds were clean and comfortable for a nights sleep. The entrances have a strange smell to them. The free breakfast and Wi-Fi are pretty good though.
This hotel is the best around - stayed two weeks and had zero bad experiences. Highly recommend if you're in Rutland! The location was ideal, too - close to downtown Rutland, ski lodges, and shopping.
We stayed for 2 nights and pretty much everything was as I expected. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Nothing fancy. The pool and hot tub were clean and the right temperatures. Again, nothing fancy. The gym had a few exercise machines and several cardio machines. Only 15 pound free weights. A couple of machines were in need of repair. Breakfast was decent however the girls serving were excellent. The location was good. The nights we stayed the hotel was at capacity but still the room was quiet. Only negative was the Burgoyne grill for dinner. Very underwhelming and understaffed. The poor waitress ran her tail off and did her best. The food was terrible. We would stay here again but not eat at the Grill.
Service and customer satisfaction were a first since the moment I stepped into the registration lobby. Jessica was friendly, and hospitable, being a thousand miles from what I call home, she made me feel welcomed. Lisa the GM has been exceptional, understanding and with sense of urgency thats kinda rare these days. Merissa, Tammy and Stephen, and the young tall blond hair maintenance guy ( i forgot your name, sorry man) everyone here provides a 5 star bespoke service that the best chains or hotel portfolios around the world provide. If I ever visit Rutland county again this is the only place I would stay in. Also, bring back Jessica's strawberry waffles please, you'll keep her for life in here!!
The staff is amazing her. Merissa and Sebastián were very helpful in my stay here. The breakfast was different every morning. The location of the hotel was beautiful. It's 20 minutes from Killington and 5 minutes from Home Depot
We stayed at the Best Western Rutland for a family wedding weekend. The suites are perfect for a family of 5. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We only stayed for 3 nights, but you could absolutely spend a week here comfortably. Lots of open space and closets in the room. We also utilized the outside picnic tables to have a group BBQ one evening. The salt pool was very refreshing as well.
The staff was very good. Jessica was very quick to assist when help was needed and she was very conscientious. Our room had a musty smell and when I contacted her she very quickly had the air conditioner filter replaced. I believe the air/heating system needs an upgrade or at the very least, a through cleaning. I was also disappointed that they didn't come in to clean the room and bring fresh towels. I was told that this was due to “Covid” and that if you wanted the room cleaned you have to request it the night before. Seriously??!! I'm so tired of businesses using Covid as an excuse for good service. I don't blame the staff for any of this, I blame the greed of the Best Western executives.
Great place. Feels more like a fun home environment instead of just a regular hotel due to it being little guest cottages with hotel rooms inside. Very beautiful view. Very roomy. Staff is very accommodating and friendly . Nice breakfast each morning and they have the menu up the night before so you can see what it is. Would definitely come back to this one the next time I'm in the area.
The room had several bugs in it. There were snack food wrappers between the mattresses and box springs. All of the ceiling corners had cobwebs in them. The air conditioning barely worked so we were hot. We tried calling the front desk several times from our room phone and it would ring for a while and no one would answer, to the point that I had to walk across the way to ask where the locations of the ice machines were. The staff did not answer or offer a map, they simply pointed to the building and said “second floor.” The pool was filthy, with hair and bugs floating all over it. A horrible experience with a disgusting hotel and even worse staff. Will never stay at a best western again.
The room was the greatest My housekeeper Amy was very kind friendly and outgoing she went an xtra mile just to get me what I needed!!! Amy deserves something special from the company for all she does
Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We were in town for an event and had booked another establishment online. Upon checking in that place was not clean and smelled of smoke. We promptly checked out and drove to Best Western to hoping for a room and they did not disappoint. Very clean establishment. We felt at home.
We were really pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. It definitely used to be a condo hotel. Our 1 bedroom suite with kitchen was really more of a one bedroom condo. It was very specious and perfect for our weekend at Killington. Plenty of space for the 4 of us. Full kitchen with new appliances and breakfast bar. Tons of dresser and closet and cabinet space. We stayed in building 6. There was a path to the lobby area for breakfast in the AM. The breakfast buffet was ample. Second floor unit so quiet except for a bit of street noise. The vanity was renovated but the shower was not and could use it. But otherwise a really convenient and comfortable place to stay for a weekend.
We were very pleased with our stay. Traveling with 3 small kids isn't easy. We were able to check in early. It wasn't guaranteed but they made it happen which was absolutely wonderful. Gave the kids a little time to unwind from a long car ride before heading to a funeral. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. My 4 year old loved the Belgian waffles with all the special toppings! All in all a great stay at this hotel.
We have repeatedly stayed at the hotel. It's location is perfect for accessing the Killington/Pico ski area and the hotel has become the preferred choice for our Rutland base. The rooms are large and warm and clean. However they were not cleaned the next day nor were any of the toiletries or coffee replenished. The breakfast was basic, except for the do it yourself waffles. Hot chocolate was missing one evening and continue to be missing at the breakfast next day. We will probably stay again but hope that the situation will improve.
We made a last min change in stay to the Best Western Inn and Suites. So glad we did!! Rooms were clean. It was busy just following Christmas but the staff did a fantastic job keeping the breakfast plentiful every morning. Breakfast included a daily egg and meat option, waffles, bagels, cold and hot cereal, yogurt, fresh baked muffins, coffee, tea, juice milk. Many options to choose from. Front desk staff was always accommodating with extra towels. They also had pet friendly accommodations. Will stay here again.
We chose a suite because we're a mother-daughter pair with different schedules and didn't want to sleep in the same room -- or pay for two separate rooms. The 1-BR suite was very spacious and clean and in good shape, and we saved money over paying for two single rooms. We loved the second-floor balcony and the bright space and high cathedral ceiling. On the downside, the sofa-bed was uncomfortable and the window at the top of the high wall has no covering, so the light came in at night, not ideal for sleeping. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff, though a little uneven, was generally quite friendly and accommodating. This facility has a nice vibe, we got the sense there were a lot of longer-term tenants and the staff knew them, giving it a friendly feel. Note that there wasn't an elevator, if that's a concern.
This place was spectacular! We got the 2nd floor suite, which has a wonderful balcony and nice kitchen. Tall ceilings. Parking was free and easy. Staff were so friendly! Breakfast was delicious, and they have local syrup from Baird Farms. Walking distance to a cute country store. 10/10 would stay here again.
recently we stayed at the best Western in Rutland Vermont it was a great place to stay Stella at the front desk was amazing. We received great information on places to visit and eat. Stella made our visit very special definitely coming back. From Donna Sherrard and Diane Raimondi
Where do I start? The room was dated. The beds were horrible. Shower was not good. One of those places you can't wait to leave. The breakfast area looks larger on the website photos that it actually was. The food was not appetizing. The ladies taking care of the breakfast did not wear gloves or hair nets. We were trying to decide if we wanted to eat there or not when another guest walked in with her dog. That was bad enough, but then the lady taking care of the breakfast area reached down and petted the dog. We didn't eat breakfast there.
I'm not sure how this hotel is so highly rated. We overnighted here (any longer and we would have checked straight out). The room was dark and had an overpowering musty smell which was even worse in the bathroom. The room was so tired I can't believe that Best Western risk their reputation by putting their name to this hotel. Stains everywhere - walls, carpet and ceiling and a previous occupant had stuffed toilet paper in the door peep hole which also raises some questions. The complimentary breakfast was the usual kind of stuff you get in these places and was pretty much the highlight of the stay. Service was friendly enough but couldn't make up for the down at heel ambience.
I was attending a conference at Killington Grand Lodge, but rooms the hotel was full due to both the conference and fall foliage. I managed to get one of the last rooms in the area at Best Western and it was great! Only 1.5 miles from the mountain, it was convenient, clean and I was pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the suite with full kitchen. I would stay here again.
Planned a last minute trip to the Killington/Rutland area, and what a great property with very friendly staff. We checked in after midnight and the night auditor, Mike was very helpful, including sharing the next mornings breakfast details. Tammy was working both days along with another women in the breakfast room, didn't catch her name, and they both were extremely friendly to all of the guests both mornings, never once did any of the food items run out, and the food was delicious. The grounds were well manicured and maintained, as was the suite we stayed in, in addition to being very clean the suite was spacious, with a kitchen, dining, and living area. The hotel is a short ride to either Killington, Pico and downtown Rutland, there's plenty to do in all of those areas. Looking forward to a return visit later this year.
Stopped for 2 nights. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation is nicely spaced out, with private outside seating area. Suite was spacious and comfortable with full size cooker and fridge. We had a small problem with our toilet seat, which was speedily sorted out. Would recommend.
Made a short summer visit to the Rutland/Killington area with family. This was the first time we stayed at the BW Rutland. Highly recommend!! Nice pool & family suite with a deck & kitchen is a plus!!
Location is great for visiting Rutland. Stephen at the front desk and Tammy in the breakfast area are fantastic! Breakfast was good. Used the fitness room. Room is small, but useable. There was a full 5 gallon water container in the fitness room, but no dispenser. Room was clean with the exception of the bathroom floor. The bathroom floor grout lines need to be steamed and cleaned.
I was on a business trip to the area. I chose this hotel because it was rated # 1 on Tripadvisor. I am a loyal follower of Tripadvisor. I was extremely disappointed in the hotel. I stayed in building # 2. My room was not good at all. I could literally feel the mattress springs on the bed. Not comfortable. The room needed considerable TLC, especially the bathroom. Lots of rust stains and mildew on the shower ceiling and the corners of the floor. The shower curtain rod was hanging by loose screws and it looked like there were half hearted attempts to spackle numerous areas on the wall with lots of paint touch ups. This room should not be rented. I seriously felt like I was taken advantage of by being put in this room. I was so tired from traveling all day to get there that I did not have the energy to voice my concerns. I was booked for two nights but I simply checked out the next day and left. The hotel manager needs to walk through that room and see what it looks like. I stay at hotels quite often during the course of my business travels. This was not up to any standards. And it was not worth the price. On the bright side, the breakfast was decent but I ate so fast and ran out of there.
We felt more like we were staying in a condo. The layout of the property and our entrance was warm and welcoming, offering more of a "residential" feel as opposed to a hotel stay. Quiet surroundings and comfortable and clean!
We came into town for a wedding. The staff upgraded us to a suite and it was delightful. I really enjoyed reading on the porch/veranda right off our rooms; the mature trees were beautiful. The hypoallergenic bedding and comfort of the beds was excellent. Our daughter goes to college in the area, we will most definitely be back.
Have stayed here five or more days for many years in a row and always have has a first rate experience. Staying at the Best Western Rutland is relaxing and unchallenging as a good hotel should be. The rooms are well and sensibly furnished, clean and everything in them works as they should. The staff is super, the grounds are attractive, the units are in several small buildings allowing all to park very close to their rooms. The décor in the rooms are a bit dated, but at the price range who cares. The Best Western is quiet, I have never had a noise problem. The hotel has resumed a good full, free buffet breakfast with hot dishes, including daily eggs, pancake and waffle makes, an assortment of breads and muffins, cereals and yogurts. The selection of fresh fruit is limited.
One of the best hotels we've stayed at in a long time. Very friendly staff, Lisa accommodated every request I had. Comfortable room that was extremely clean and comfortable. Amazing breakfast! Tammy, the breakfast host, was on top of everything and made sure the area was clean and food options were fresh.
We stayed here over night on our travels. We had a very nice stay. The rooms have private entries. Basically you have to use your keycard to get into a foyer then use it again for your room. Kinda cool. Security. The rooms was a little small but big enough for us. Seemed like all linens were new. AC and Wi-Fi were great. Very quiet. Next morning we had the best breakfast we have had on the road. Huge breakfast bar. Unbelievable. Thank you. I would highly recommend staying here.
Overall the stay was very nice. The suite was spacious, clean, and had all of the amenities we needed for the weekend. It was nice to have a fully operational kitchen, a separate living room, and bedroom with plenty of space for all of us. My only criticisms are the rooms are dated in appearance and could be a little brighter. The dining area off of the lobby is small and with a fully booked hotel, there should have been more than one person assigned to food preparation and distribution. Coffee, eggs, sausage, (the hot food) ran out and took some time to replenish. This is not a criticism on the staff member who was working as she did a fantastic job of trying to keep up. It was definitely overwhelming for her with that many guests. The hotel itself should have at least one more staff member on at breakfast time during the weekends. All in all, if I have to travel to the Rutland area again, I would definitely consider staying here again.
Great location, warm and personable staff, beautiful grounds, strong wifi, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I felt at home at this hotel. Overall, a great stay. This is the only hotel I will stay again when I visit Rutland, VT.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. The suite was great and matched the photos. It was great staying there and looking forward to the next trip! The suite was roomy and comfortable. We saw a bear from our patio which was so cool!
We booked a room for two nights during the Easter Weekend. The hotel is located outside Rutland and has an unusual layout (multiple separate buildings). Remote location and few rooms in each building made the stay very pleasant, as it was one of the quietest stays we have ever encountered. Our room, while not very large was well equipped, with bed sheets and pillows that were clearly freshly washed. The fridge worked extremely well (amazingly this is a rarity in today's hotels). The bathroom did not seem to be very new, but it was extremely clean and everything worked as it should. Breakfast was included for our stay and was offered in the building with the front desk. It consisted in the regular breakfast assortment (make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, bagels, muffins, fruits, and cereals). It was never busy during out stay and it was regularly stocked. The staff was courteous and welcoming. Of the handful of hotels in the Rutland area, only two stand out when one tries to look for a quality stay. Best Western is one of them and we would certainly consider it again when in the area.
Best western in Rutland/killington vt is a great place to stay on a budget. King size bed was huge room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. It was also very quiet. The wedding I went to was at a inn that was double the price and you had to get a minimum of 2 night stay and the BW was only about 10 minutes away. I am very glad I made the decision to stay at the best western
I stayed with my friend for 4 days last week both for business and skiing. Overall stay was comfortable. We had some issues with housekeeping and ice machine but front desk manager Ms. Lisa and another gentleman (I can't recall his name) at the front desk took care of the matter. Breakfast is fine. This location is about 20 minutes from the slopes. One bedroom suite is quite comfortable and easily accommodate a family of 4. Kitchen has basic amenities and there are many places around for quick lunch or dining. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here in future.
We booked the Best Western Rutland for a ski club trip. We stayed in the suites but regular hotel rooms are available as well. The suites were fully equipped kitchens including ovens! The only thing that could be improved is better stocking of plates and cookware. The suites were spacious, clean and comfortable and the location near Pico, Killington and Okemo was fabulous. A much better value than staying in the town of Killington! Even Sugarbush was only an hour away. Breakfast was fine and the breakfast area was nice and a wonderful place to gather not only for breakfast but also for a group game night. The best part about this property is the staff. Every single person went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. I would highly recommend staying here. It is nice to have a kitchen so that you don't HAVE to go out and spend a fortune on restaurant meals every night. However, the hotel is close to many good restaurants when you do want to go out.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which is a great set up for a family. The problem was that the rooms were dated and the full kitchen was poorly equipped. They need to renovate and stock the kitchen with more basic equipment.
I'm really happy with the overall experience. The weather was zero degrees and the room was warm and toasty. We had a suite with an adjoined room it was perfect for the eight of us! Will definitely go back!!!
As always, experience was excellent. Obvious attention to details - cleanliness, covid safety protocols in place, everything worked in the room, and great breakfast. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
We stayed here for a family wedding at another location. Our room was very cozy and clean. Help at front desk was awesome. Marissa was awesome. Continental breakfast was very good considering Covid. Muffins, breads, etc fresh and very good. Beds were very very comfortable. Slept great! Would recommend this location.
Hotel was clean and neat...other than the foyer entrance to my room had a musty odor. Also, I got locked out of the foyer entrance at 11:30 at night...desk clerk couldn't figure out how to get the door to open because the keyless entrance wasn't working...told me it doesn't work when it gets wet! Well it was snowing so probably not the locks a hotel should have in wintery Vermont! After 30 minutes of standing out in the cold, he finally got another employee to come and get the door open. Then I had to leave it propped open so I could get back in if I left and came back...not a great situation when you're sharing the entrance with the room next to you and have to worry that those customers will remove the prop.
We have had good time in the past, but this year with my family the bathroom had black mold under the sink area the kitchen was very dated ,dirty, dining table looked like it came from a yard sale, not good they should pay more attention to the rooms !
The woman at the front desk was so rude, and completely kicked me out because she didn't like where I came from when she read my address on the paperwork. Then when she told me she wouldn't let me stay there and I tried to simply ask why. She was got aggressive. Raised her voice to me. And made me feel like I was some sort of trash.
I stayed here for two nights, and didn't hear a peep! The size of the room was great! Very clean and friendly staff upon check in. Continental breakfast was convenient, they had a lot of sanitizing stations throughout and you could take your food to go as well. They offer cleaning the rooms upon request due to Covid which is a nice feature.
A great stay as always. The desk staff is always efficient and friendly! The lobby is set up really nice and breakfast was an easy grab and go with a decent variety considering Covid protocol. My room was great and really clean and the bed was super comfortable!
This place is so awesome for staying over night on business. The rooms are quiet, and clean. I have stayed at hotels with loud neighbors and honestly got a working individual it's so hard. This place is great it's quiet and the breakfast is available early. Great place
We stayed here 2 nights for a wedding and when we arrive for check in they told us they ran out of king rooms so they upgraded us to a suite! We walked into our suite and it was a mini apartment. Very convenient as I wake up early and my husband likes to sleep in. Full kitchen was convenient for going out to eat and having leftovers. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room. Only thing I will say was the smell of the room was very musty when we walked in it did bother my allergies, so we had to leave the AC on in both the bedroom and living room snd the fan on in the bathroom. That did help and after 24 hours we didn't notice it anymore
Room was except it was one of the smallest 2 bed rooms we've ever stayed in. Also the toilet clogged up so had to get plunger from office. Noticed a few plungers elsewhere on property next do so perhaps a common issue. Hotel room is relatively far from office so not convenient to getting breakfast.
I was so glad we found the Best Western in Vermont. They are very clean, anything you needed they helped, the workers were very friendly. Can't forget about the breakfast. Plenty to choose from. This day was fabulous.
When I say "old and tired", I'm not referring to me, I'm referring to the Best Western. This "hotel" is in desperate need of a total make-over. A couple of notes about my stay: - we were a wedding group, and a couple of the reservations were completely messed up, despite each room having been individually confirmed in advance. - when I arrived the temperature in my room was 80 degrees - on an evening when the outside temp was about 55 deg. - the grout in the bathroom tile floor had some kind of "interesting" growth in it. - The drain under the bathroom sink was leaking, and had been for some time given the staining under the drain. - It was a holiday weekend, and we paid a premium to stay here, and the value was not there. - the hotel did at least meet the basic metrics of providing a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was apparent that this hotel was really understaffed (as are SO MANY other places) so I give them credit for at least trying. Sorry - I can't recommend this hotel.
A one-night stay for us and check-in was friendly as well as helpful. The hotel is set back a bit from the road and quiet. The room was well laid out and clean. Complimentary breakfast the next morning in the lobby could not have been better. Check-out again was friendly and very close to Rutland.
We have been traveling cross country. We have stayed at Marriott and Hilton along the way. This Best Western has set a new standard of hotel cleanliness and friendliness. Lisa, at the front desk was a friendly voice on the phone as we made our reservation. What a positive experience! Looks like a great stop for families and pet owners too.
Room had an odor to it and the pool wasn't the cleanest and outdoor seating area needs improvement. The hideaway couch bed was terrible felt like you were sleeping on springs and there was no blankets or pillows for it.
Cleaning staff does not do thorough cleaning of rooms. Layer of dust on chair rail and base boards. Child above me was jumping off furniture to causing my lights to sway and when I asked the staff to call the room to ask them to stop jumping, I was told that they would see what they could do. I listen to it for 5 nights, and then I was asked to change rooms.
My husband and I stayed three nights for a family wedding on the mountaintop resort. The service here was impeccable Stella and Lisa are wonderful, the house cleaning staff are super! Our room was spotless and ready when we arrived and anything we needed while we were here was gladly provided for us. We will absolutely return!
Our suite was a good size, with a full kitchen; yet living area was dated with a small bathroom. Newer carpeting throughout. Beds, including pillows were amazingly comfortable. We cancelled our reservation at another hotel and booked this one because it had an operating pool. It was slightly heated, outdoors, good size and wonderfully peaceful. Yet every staff member, especially Lisa, is what made our stay perfect. Extremely pleasant, helpful, and efficient! Would stay here again, despite killing a few ants in the room.
It is so delightful to feel like you are staying in a small neighborhood as opposed to a hotel/motel! ......set back from the road with very pleasant landscaping, This is a convenient place to stay to both mountain activities and to the city of Rutland. HOSPITALITY was stellar !! And the coffee at the continental breakfast was really good!
Have stayed here about a half-a-dozen times over the last few years and always have had a highly satisfactory stay. The furnishings in the room I was last in may not have been the newest but everything was in good condition and, unlike some hotels, everything seem well-designed for its intended purpose. Housekeeping is excellent, towels are good and plentiful, as is the hot water, and the staff is friendly and professional. One very nice thing about the hotel is its spacious grounds, in-season, and pre-Covid, there is a tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool, the landscaping is pleasant and just walking around the property is enjoyable. Its also nice to be able to park close to one's room. Pre-Covid, there was a superior complimentary breakfast with a wide choice including several hot dishes. Covid makes things more difficult but this Best Western beat the Hampton Inn another state I stayed at the night before hands-down with, among other choices, fresh breads and wonderful staff-baked pastries and muffins (I met the baker) and hard-boiled eggs, way better than the pre-packaged stuff on order the previous night.
Our stay was excellent. Perfect little mountain side buildings and excellent customer service. Close to both downtown Rutland and the Killington area. Next time we're in the area we will definitely return!
We reserved a one-bedroom suite and I'm glad we did. The beds were great as were the kitchen and living room. We didn't use the facilities because we were going to a wedding at The Mountain Top Inn so we spent most of our time there (note: the Inn is 15 min. drive away and isn't hard to find). The breakfast offered was very nice. I would recommend this hotel.
My family decided on a last minute weekend in Vermont. We booked the Best Western and are very pleased. The rooms are set back off the main road. The location is convenient to town but just out of the central noise. Merissa at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcomed when I arrived. The room is clean and quiet. Highly recommend!
The accommodations were excellent at this Best Western. Very attractive, great location just outside of the busy area of Rutland. So convenient, but quiet and picturesque. Breakfast was excellent and they gave us grab bags to take with us for our busy day. Coffee available all day. Room nicely appointed. Hi highly recommend this hotel.
I was immediately upgraded to a Suite, which was very large with a full Kitchen. The Grab and Go breakfast was just fine. I was in Rutland to visit family whom I had not seen in 13 months. I would certainly stay here again.
A top notch hotel including management and staff. I could stay at many other hotels, some much more expensive and newer however, I choose not as a result the quality of people, services [ie. Covid precautions] very proactive. Wonderful hotel to stay. I wouldn't stay any where else.
The suite is really nice and enjoyable, I think our room was recently updated, so it felt very clean. Kitchen is a bit small, but we werent there to cook etc. We really like the property, have stayed here twice and really enjoyed each time.
The Best Western is convenient to both skiing areas, has great prices, an awesome breakfast and the friendliest staff around. This is where we stay when we ski, and are looking forward to next winter!
It's about a 20min drive to the ski resort, but the rooms are large (kitchen, living area and separate bedroom) making it ideal for a family of four. Breakfast was covid limited, but a good variety of choice in a brown bag grab and go style. The limited interaction we had with staff was friendly and helpful (even if in the case of the dishwasher tablets, they couldn't get us any). Overall good place to stay.
Just needed a place for the family to rest after a day on the slopes. The price was good. The people at the desk where lovely and the rooms are clean and better than I expected at the price point. Not a 5 star hotel but 5 star service and 5/5 for the money.
Three families arranged a last minute ski trip for Prez weekend. Due to no availability closer to the mountain we booked BW at Rutland:. Clean, reasonably priced, no frills, comfortable. Met our expectations.
We stayed here for two months while working and skiing in the area. The suite was absolutely perfect. Great living space and kitchen. The vaulted ceiling really spaced it out nicely. With free breakfast, gym access, and weekly maid service (would be more frequent if not for covid), this place beats any pricey apartment in Rutland or Killington. Nick with customer service hooked us up with a great deal and Lisa the innkeeper was super friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back!
stayed one night while skiing at Okemo. The hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. The grab and go breakfast was perfect before heading to the mountain. The fresh made muffins especially were amazing! About a 30-35 min drive to Okemo mountain, Also very close to Killington. Would stay again!
Covid-19 safe practices were evident throughout - from check in, breakfast area, and rooms. As always, staff was friendly and helpful. Great location for skiing at Killington. We will be returning to this BW!!.
The staff were friendly. The grab and go breakfast was great! My husband loved the Green Mountain coffee. The hotel room itself was clean and exactly what we wanted. We were also very pleased that our dog was able to come with us.
Best Western suites was nothing I imagined. The photos do not do justice for the socially distant/safe setting it provides. The suites are safely spread out and every "public area" is maintained with safe protocol and sanitation. The dog-friendly vibes also made this trip special. It was 30-minutes from Okemo (felt like 15-min) and about 10-minutes from Killington (if that). The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and the living room/bed area made it feel like we were coming home to our home after a day on the slopes. I have no complaints. I already booked 2 more return visits. I cannot wait to join the Best Western crew. I look forward to exploring more locations world wide after this experience.
Spacious rooms with large living room with vaulted ceiling. Kitchen was clean and well stocked. 2 comfortable queen sized mattress. Easy check in & check out. Self-service breakfast area was clean and well organized. Would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.
I was very pleased with the staff and amenities... the only problem was the cold on the lower level units and the heating systems inability to offset or overcome the cold. All other aspects of the room were great. If it wasn't a cold day I would have rated this place much higher its a nice layout and wonderful staff
Notes many inaccuracies in policy when confronted manager said that's how it is. They wait till you get there so they get some money even if you don't stay. DOES NOT RENT TO VERMONTERS per management. Not the kind of professional management you can trust.
Suite was great with patio and lawn accessible from room. Very clean and very near to killington sky resorts Rutland market is nearby as well with good access to restaurants and utility stores Would love to visit this facility again soon!
Very clean room, the furniture was retro but was very welcomed, in nice shape, because it felt more familiar with good memories I've had. Outside looked liked an impressively well-landscaped community, very welcoming and near everything, very safe. Hot water and sleeping comforts were GREAT! All HVAC worked flawlessly. 100% VERY PLEASED with the stay with the deluxe suite. (2nd stay here)
My family stayed one night during our road trip through Vermont. Nice location and adequate facilities, but they are long overdue for a renovations. The facility was clean, but the buildings, fixtures and furniture need an overhaul. The staff was friendly and courteous...and took COVID protection measures to ensure the safety of their patrons.
We wanted to get away from Boston to visit family in Rutland, but wanted to give them space and have a bit of a vacation feel. The pool was wonderful - clean, perfect temp! Lots of land for our kids to run around and play on the playground. The room was nice and big. There was a group above us which we could hear at times which was a bit annoying, but overall it was a great stay
This hotel experience was one of the best we have ever experienced! We pre-booked a basic king room and upon checkin learned that they did not have a room clean. Due to the covid-19 issues, they couldn't clean the room so we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite. This suite was as well appointed as any apartment with a full kitchen, dining room table, living room, and separate sleeping quarters. When asked for a recommendation for a place to order dinner, she suggested an amazing pizza shop. My boyfriend and I are planning a trip just to go back and stay there. When a couple wants to drive 730 miles to stay someplace, you know it's good!
Only a few minutes from the Killington access road or from Pico, this is the best hotel in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is awesome and the breakfast is real food. This is the best place in the area to stay while skiing!
I am on my second stay at Best Western in Rutland. I cannot recommend highly enough this Inn. I am a travel nurse and this Best Western has exceeded other places I have stayed. The Inn has suites with full kitchens...full sized refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is a generous sized dining area as well as seating at the bar area and the living space. My suite had 2 queen beds. TVs were also in the living room and bedroom. I found most of the staff so friendly and helpful, except for one. Lisa, Stella, Merissa, and Dorothy were/are lovely and pleasant and able to give me suggestions for my stay and always had smiles and called me by name. There was only one negative that I encountere(d). Steven was often rude to me and I observed him being rude with other customers. This has been with both my stays. I would definitely recommend Best Western Inn at Rutland. This is where I would choose anytime I'm here.
The rooms were very clean with an updated decor. Staff was courteous and friendly. Rates were reasonable. Check in and check out were quick. Breakfast in lobby was busy, but surprisingly efficient and good. Not one issue with my stay.
I have traveled the world and have to say this Best Western Inn in Rutland has the most caring staff I have encountered! My daughter and I arrived with only a day's notice from the west coast to be with my son, who had a serious ski accident and was in the Rutland hospital. We had booked a double room and in a smooth and quick checkin, we were upgraded to a suite with a pullout couch to accommodate all three of us upon my son's release. The suite was tidy and clean with a nicely appointed kitchen, breakfast bar, dining area, and a very comfortable bedroom. Nice closet space throughout. The rooms were a good size, quiet, and warm, even at minus 6 degrees! Two large flat-screen TVs made it convenient to have our own space. But it was the staff that made my stay exceptional! My son's hospital stay was extended from an anticipated 4-5 days to well over a week. My daughter, who was my driver in the snow, had to leave after three days and I was stranded, as I don't know how to drive in the snow and ice. This caring staff (specifically Lisa Jajack, the Front Office Manager, as well as the General Manager, Dave Carrell) offered to shuttle me daily to and from the hospital, often returning as late as 8pm, and even offered to bring dinner to the hospital for us as my reservation extended from 3 days to over a week. They turned a nightmare scenario into a fairly pleasant experience - always with a smile and a kind word. Each morning the breakfast room had a lovely hot and cold spread, varying day to day. The atmosphere was friendly and the breakfast room was somehow kept clean even with all the busy skiers bustling in and out. The two breakfast servers were super friendly and a shoutout to Theresa, who also offered to drive me on her day off! They all knew, including Stella behind the front desk, that I was terrified of driving in the snow, especially in the dark, and they jumped right in to help! They exemplify the caring attitude I have discovered in this small part of Vermont! And having cookies and milk at 8pm hit the spot! I feel at home and safe at the Best Western and know that whatever problems might arise in a stay here, they will be addressed quickly, professionally, and with care and good humor!
Stayed here for 2 nights for a ski vacation with family. Very convenient and easy to get to Killington ski resort. Very comfortable room, nice bathroom. Staff at desk very helpful and friendly. Check-in easy. Great breakfast included--lots of choices and very nice room where it is set up. Lots of tables and staff constantly replenished the items. Would definitely stay here again.
My family has stayed here once a year for the past 10 years for our ski trips to Killington Mountain. You can't beat the suites (with dog friendly option) and great location to ski spots, food and shopping, downtown Rutland and many other quaint Vermont towns. Tammy works extremely hard to prepare, serve, and maintain a wonderful breakfast every morning starting at 6:30AM. We are a large group and have thrown some curve balls during our visit and the staff has always responded in a very friendly manner and accommodated our needs. I would highly recommend staying here for your Vermont get-away!
Twenty minutes away from Killington in the town of Rutland, VT is a reasonable priced and comfortable lodging. The Amtrak is three miles from the Best Western as well as bus service to the Station and to Killington.. BW is well maintained, a good value, and a great breakfast.
We stayed in Best Western Hotel during our annual ski trip in Killington. This is the 3rd consecutive year we have been to Best western. The hotel is very good, staff are very friendly and eager to help. It always feels so warm everywhere in the hotel.
This is the nicest Best Western I've seen...small cluster buildings back in the trees instead of a strip motel...looks like an apartment complex you'd like to live in. Very nice room, good breakfast and very cheerful staff.
We had a party of six on a family ski trip. It was our first experience together at Killington and the staff helped us plan bith the skiing and our dinners. Steven was especially helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was great and different everyday.
We were pleasantly surprised with our suite at the Best Western. We expected just a separate living area but basically had a spacious condo with dining area, living room, and fully equipped kitchen. We were visiting to ski at Killington and we were only 18 minutes from the base lodge and only 5 minutes from good friends in Rutland that we were spending time with. The hotel was roomy and comfortable and clean with a nice free breakfast. The WiFi worked well and we could park very close to the door which was helpful for schlepping ski gear. We would definitely stay here again.
I've stayed at quite a few hotels in Rutland and this one is by far the best. It's pricier but worth the extra expense for the comfort of the suite. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The kitchen/dining area was a great thing to have. I will definitely be back.
Great room, great service. Our family had a great time at this hotel. Clean comfortable rooms with friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and cookies at milk at 8pm! We will go back again next year. Close proximity to Killington access road.
Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed my dog which was great, lots of room for him to run around. Beds were too small though, we stayed in a double (i think). Breakfast was nothing fancy, typical hotel breakfast we ended up eating out.
This was our first time staying at the Best Western in Rutland. We usually stay at another hotel but they were booked up this time and we were happy to have a chance to try it. The location is a little out of town but there were some places to get a meal nearby and several gas stations. We were given a large suite on the second floor and it would be great for a family with children. There was a full sized kitchen and a large living room too. The bedroom had two queen beds but the bathroom was older and a bit small. They had several closets and a small deck. We did not try the breakfast as we were visiting family while in town but it looked very good. We did have one problem and that was with the heat in the room. It was very warm, even when we turned the thermostat down. We would probably ask for a first floor room on our next visit to see if that was better.
room was clean and nice location just very hot. great breakfast and staff were very friendly would definitely go back to this hotel. there were plenty of restaurants were available and it was close to our wedding
It is a wonderful place to stay and very friendly. The rooms are large. The staffs are wonderful and helpful. It is very family friendly. The breakfast is adequate and many option. it could be improve if you can make fresh egg omelets.
Outstanding staff and the suite was lovely. Large, clean, comfortable bed ... we even cooked dinner in the fully equipped kitchen rather than eat out ... felt just like home. Convenient washer/dryer for longer stays. Will definitely be back.
We booked a one night Saturday night stay only a couple of days in advance and requested two beds, no stairs and accessible. We got all we requested in a small, but quite satisfactory room. Clean, well equipped, thoroughly up to date. The rooms are in separate buildings spread throughout the property and thus the walk to the office for the breakfast can be rather long which could be less than fun in bad weather. The hotel is out of town on the Rutland/Mendon line on Route 4 which is a good place to be for scenic appeal and quiet. We were here mostly after foliage and before skiing but it was still mostly full on a Saturday night. Popular.
We stayed here over the Columbus Day weekend. The Hotel was sold out which is a good sign. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was on the smaller side but adequate since we were basically just using it for sleeping. Convenient to Rutland, Killinginton, and all the other sites along VT Route 4. We had a minor inconvenience with our room that required maintenance. Stella & Karen couldn't have been nicer and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. What great people!!!.
This BW had the LAST ROOM AVAILABLE in the entire Burlington area on Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. Check-in was very nice, cookies available, bed comfy, Wifi excellent. Wall a/c unit kept shutting itself off but I operated it manually instead of via the wall thermostat so maybe it was me. We could have used an outside trash container but didn't see any. Our door kept sticking on the swing lock which was installed 1/16" off - which was probably why this room was available.
Very nice facility. Had a suite; issue with pull out bed not working so made do the first night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for cost. Family friendly. Several family members stayed at this location and all had a favorable experience
Hotel is pretty good for the area. Pretty good value. If you can get a suite toward the back, they are nice. Pool is nice. Warm, sunny and clean. We were there for Labor day. Workout room is just ok. Breakfast and lady who serves is great! Lisa at the front desk really made our stay!! She really seems to care about her hotel and giving superior service.
Stopped in on a road trip through town and the BW was recommended by a gift shop up the road. Check in was flawless and the room was clean. The complex is dated but don't let that stop you. The staff more than makes up for it. Breakfast was nice and had a large variety of both hot and cold foods. We had an issue and it was quickly resolved by Stella at the front desk. I hope BW corporate reads these because you have a hidden gem working at this location that goes above and beyond to satisfy the guest. Don't let her get away because she gives BW a great reputation. Keep up the great work.
I used reward points for a free stay. Check in was fast and easy, the room was clean and comfortable. Any staff I encountered was friendly and welcoming. Some other guests were a little loud late at night but that wasn't the hotel's fault. All in all any time I've stayed at this BW I've had a great experience! Lisa and Stella at the front desk are great!
Arrived in Burlington by plane and rented a car to drive to Rutland for my hotel stay. The property will remind you of a type of timeshare. The suite I had came with a full kitchen, dining room, sitting area and bedroom. Furniture needs to be updated but overall, a good place to stay and enjoy the country.
Could have asked for more. We were there for our nieces wedding and the staff was very friendly. The rooms are made from an older condo but are all redone, very nice. Breakfast was excellent, they do a great job.
The room was spacious, attractively decorated & comfy. Unfortunately we were near the road which kept us awake, but the buildings further back would be fine. The team were all friendly. The location is a little out of Rutland town so not walkable. Breakfast was very varied, with something for everyone. I would however prefer reusable plates and silverware rather than plastic. The waterfalls nearby at Diana's Baths and Sabbaday were both stunning.
We were very pleased with the accommodations and the convenient location . The staff is very pleasant and professional. When I mentioned a problem we were having with our shower, Lisa J. Was absolutely fabulous and handled the situation with a smile and sincerity. We recommend this Inn and will return another time. Vermont is beautiful!
Rooms were very comfortable. Excellent service, Staff were friendly and professional. Complete breakfast had a nice selection and tasted great. Would recommend to my friends. I had a very enjoyable stay.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were traveling with three young children which can be challenging. The staff at the front desk and in the dining area greeted us warmly each day and even provided cookies and a crown for the kids. The homemade muffins and bread at breakfast were delicious. The cleaning staff actually inquired as to what we needed and promptly got it for us. It was too cool to use the pool but the kids enjoyed the play structure on site and climbing the hill. The patio outside the suite was a pleasant place to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day. When in the area, we would definitely stay here again !
Location was great, room was great, amenities were great, and the staff was very nice. We have stayed at several Best Western's before this one but this one was definitely the best. We are planning on staying here again in the not so distant future.
We stayed here for 4 nights when in town visiting friends. Our rooms were comfortable, the pool was wonderful, and the daily breakfast was exceptional. Tammy managed the morning breakfast and did an amazing job each morning. We will definitely stay her again.
We needed a last minute hotel room and were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely suite property with a salt water pool, tennis courts, basketball courts and a playground! Out 2 Queen suite with patio was very nice. My husband was very disappointed we couldn't stay there longer.
Furniture is a little bit outdated but in good condition. Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly and honest. (had left something in hotel room which was turned in) Breakfast included was delicious. large selection and eggs and bacon were HOT!
Heading home on our motorcycle trip from South Carolina to Acadia National Park, we were glad to find this Best Western after just riding through a rain squall. We arrived on Wednesday and that happened to be the day they grill hamburgers and hotdogs for their guests. This was perfect for us. The accommodations were roomy and just right for the three of us traveling together. The next morning we were treated to a fantastic breakfast spread that included homemade breads. The hotel was a great value and the service, accommodations, and food were just what we needed to recharge and continue our trip home.
I was in town for work and was very pleased with how accurating had friendly the staff was. Helped with setting up taxi rides and booking my room for an additional night. After a very long work day the late night clerk was able to get me some food when Domino's refused to deliver. I will definitely be back when visiting again.
We traveled here to attend a wedding - the reception was at the Mountain Top Inn. We stayed for two nights. We booked a suite which had two queen beds. The room was very clean and spacious with kitchenette (stocked with coffee & coffee maker), breakfast bar for 2, dining area for 6, living area with TV and sliders to balcony with 2 chairs, separate bedroom with 2 queen beds and TV, full bath. We were on the 2nd level - as mentioned by others, 2 rooms share a common entrance way. We didn't find noise to be an issue. Free breakfast is served from 6:30 am - 9:30 - standard fare (waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, juice) was very good. The breakfast area was very clean. The front desk was very helpful to answer any questions; there was coffee and water available in the lobby. We walked the property to get our steps in - there is a playground area, a pool (saltwater, unattended), and a basketball/tennis court combination. This BW partners with the Mountain Top Inn for their wedding packages in that transportation was provided from the BW to and from the reception. This was a great option to have and we made use of this convenience. We had a great stay.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. The only weird thing is two rooms have a “shared entry way/hallway” which is unfortunate if your neighbor comes and goes and is loud. Other than that, no complaints.
I really loved this place. We had the king suite, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the size and coziness of it. When Best Western indicated it was a suite, I thought it would contain a sofa and a bed. Not this suite. It was really like an apartment. It had a full-sized kitchen with microwave, conventional stove, and full-sized refrigerator. There were barstools at a bar. If you need it, you can use their fully stocked kitchen that has utensils, pots and pans , and tableware. The carpeting is beautiful. The dining room has a table with four chairs. On the walls are country cozy pictures. A TV in both the bedroom and living room is a good feature. We enjoyed the pretty bathroom with its plush towels. They have various amenities that include tennis courts and a grill for barbecuing. They serve cookies and milk at 8 o'clock. Motorcyclists can use the wash station. At breakfast, there were delicious homemade banana bread and muffins. My only criticism was that there was too much salt on the eggs. What a delightful property. I'd love to visit again!
Helpful and accomodating staff, clean facility, Good breakfast. Would stay there again in a minute. Idea of several houses would be ideal for a large group. Maid service was courteous and professional. Desk mstaff helped us resolve problems with booking agency
The hotel is juist outside the village. You can park your vehicle right in front of your building. The staff is friendly, the pool is very nice (good temperature + loungers and chairs) and the rooms are comfy and clean. We are staying here for one more night and we're already looking foreward to breakfast tomorrow. They offer you a lot of variety (warm and cold)
We've never stayed in Rutland before... Best Western was perfect! Incredibly friendly service, clean and comfortable room, nice pool... terrific breakfast. Make sure you have a homemade muffin! Will most definitely stay here again!
We always stay at this hotel when we are in the Rutland area. The staff is so friendly! They always go above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We stayed for 3 days this weekend and our room was quiet and cozy. Two small problems were quickly fixed. The free breakfast is always a treat and we appreciated the free cookies each night as well. This is not the fanciest hotel, but it is definitely the friendliest.
We stayed here for a overnight stay in the area. We had two separate queen suites. First, customer service was excellent! Very friendly staff and eager to help. This property is a condo style hotel, with about 7 separate buildings which house the rooms. This appears to be an older property but kept up nicely. The rooms were very clean and welcoming. The queen suites are like a mini apartment, they have full kitchen with everything you need to cook, dining area, living area with couch and chair, and separate bedroom with two queen beds. The living room couch seemed old and could be replaced. In one of the suites, the pull out bed did not pull out of the sofa. Nice outdoor pool at the location. Very nice lobby with large area for the breakfast. Very small fitness room. Even being an older property, it is evident that management is maintaining the hotel and even attempting to improve it. Great place for a longer stay or group of people.
Stayed for 3 nights recently for a family gathering for a memorial service, and the staff was wonderful -- everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was pleasant and accommodating. My room wasn't fancy but was extremely clean and very comfortable, with a tv, wifi, mini fridge, microwave, ironing board. Slept very well on a comfortable double bed in a first floor room. Judging by the large number of cars in the lot I was surprised I didn't hear more people in other rooms, so the walls must be nice and thick. The breakfast area was large and accommodating for our large group, who tended to hang around and chat. The food options were terrific, from belgian waffles to eggs and bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels and english muffins. Whenever anything ran low the staff were right on top of it to make sure no one was left wanting. The location is perfect for Rutland or Killington as it is right on Rte 4. The front desk staff were all very helpful and friendly. There is an outdoor pool, which I was sad I didn't have time to try, but it looked very inviting. The web site says that it does not allow pets, but in speaking to staff, we learned apparently there are some rooms that allow pets for a $40 fee, so that's good to know for next time! I highly recommend this hotel
Clean good location. Rooms were quite small and only had doubles, guess I have been spoiled with most properties offering queens. Quiet location just outside town. Good breakfast good price. Overall fine for an overnight stay.
I stayed here one night while hiking on the AT. Transportation from the AT into Rutland was not available. I ended up walking the entire way - allegedly there is a bus on VT 103 and on Rt 7; I never saw one and a taxi driver told me the next day that I was too early for the bus....ok. Hotel is close to all needed amenities. Taxi back to the AT was ridiculously expensive.
Every year I purchase a weekend getaway (that is donated as a fundraiser for ebccs) for this best western location. The rooms, especially the suites are amazing and clean. There's always green mountain coffee I. Your room or in thereby and breakfast is always free. At night fresh baked cookies and milk are there for a snack. It's a great location to venture of and see natural beauty like gorges, state parks, bike paths covered bridges or the simplicity of yesteryear. There are rodeos weekly very close by in the summer months. We often even drive less than an hour to lake George ny and go on the steamboat the mini Haha or stroll the boardwalk noted for their little shops and places to eat. So much to do I. Just about any direction you go. Best western at this location is less than 5 min from the Norman Rockwell museum and places to eat if your hungry at night
We choose to stay at The Best Western in Rutland/Killington because it is truly the 1 place that we consider to be a home away from home! Beautiful scenery, rooms, and an amazing staff! If you are travling to the Rutland/Killington area, STAY HERE! We love it.....
Worth the extra money; many cheap hotels in Rutlad but you get what you pay for. The BW has a slight "resort" feel in the layout. Clean and comfortable, well maintained; friendly staff. Several separate buildings add to the sense of privacy.
We loved our stay here. Very clean and great staff. We booked through Groupon, so it was super affordable. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the area. We came to ski at Killington, and it was easy to drive between the two. We definitely passed a lot of sketchy looking motels in the area, and we were incredibly happy that we chose Best Western.
friendly service at check in and check out; Clean but small room for a family of four considering the fact that we've been there to ski in Killington and having the ski boots and ski clothing with us in the room. good breakfast
The Manager (Lisa J.) went out of her way to do the small things for us to make our stay memorable skiing Killington! The kids really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with the new iron waffle skillets and the evening cookies were a great treat!
Room clean comfortable and roomy. Everyone from the front desk people to housekeeping and maintenance are great. The only thing that could use improvement is the fitness room. It is very small and there is not much equipment there.
The property is located outside of Rutland, with really nice mountain views. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. This is a great place to come with a pet. It was our first time traveling with a puppy, and the rooms are perfect for this--you have your own entrance and the pet-friendly building is right next to the dog walk.
Amazing staff who will go out of their way to help you. Breakfast is suited for all and is incredibly filling and tasty. Dinner wasn't the best but was made for every one. Beds are soooooo comfortable and you won't get bored with all of the various amenities for kids and adults. Would definitely stay here again and would 100% stay here again.
We were in town to ski at Pico. The hotel is very convenient. The staff is very nice. They have a variety of food for breakfast, including real Vermont maple syrup for the waffles. The separate buildings are convenient.
We travel all the time, and The Best Western of Rutland/Killington makes us feel as though we are still at home! There are no other considerations for us when we visit the area! If you're visiting the Rutland/Killington area, make THIS your choice for Top Shelf lodging!
We have been staying at this Best Western for 15 or so years. I would not stay anywhere else in the area. They always aim to please with great service, nice people and very good fresh breakfast. Rooms are continuously updated to keep them fresh and clean. Highly recommended.
From the booking process to check-out, we had A+ customer service. Lisa, the front office manager, is who we connected with upon making our reservation. She was phenomenal over the phone, made us feel very welcome, and took all our reluctance away from staying off-mountain for our trip to Killington. Lisa assured us everything would be all set for us upon our late arrival, and her team delivered. We required a late check-in due to obligations before our weekend getaway and there was no trouble. Dorothy was the kind lady we spoke to on the phone and greeted us when we walked through the door. She quickly got us our keys and we were off. We opted for a suite, which was large in size, had a full kitchen, was clean and cozy. Though we had no plans to stay in the room since we would be at the mountain for most of our trip, if we needed a place to hang out for a couple of days, this suite would be more than suitable. A continental breakfast was served hot and fresh, and the main selections were not the same each of the mornings we attended. The staff at the front desk and in the dining area always greeted us with a warm welcoming. At check-out, they made sure we grabbed a cup of coffee to-go and never made us feel rushed or unwanted. I love to stay at ski-on/ski-off lodges, I love family owned B&B's, but if you are going to Killington or Pico, if you are staying in or around Rutland, I STRONGLY suggest you give this particular Best Western a try. Lisa and her team will go out of their way to make sure your stay is as wonderful as ours. Thank you Lisa!!!
Excellent place to stay - our suite was large, beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic breakfast; all employees were sweet and helpful . We felt well taken care of and got great value for our money. We'll be back!
We booked the Best Western last ski season (20 min ride to Killington), and something came up that we were unable to attend our weekend away. We spoke on the phone with the front desk manager Lisa Jajack and she was kind enough to give us a voucher to come back within the next year. She set us up in one of the wonderful 1 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor, with a 2 queens, a living room with pullout couch, balcony, and full kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the room was nice and clean, water was hot, heat worked great, multiple storage closets for ski gear - all around A rating! Continental breakfast was good, wish they had scrambled eggs both mornings and bacon. Other staff members we encountered were also kind. You can tell this is a place that is run with mutual respect, kindness and pride for their business from the top - down. We were treated wonderfully! Would definitely return back, thank you Lisa!
Staff was wonderful always attentive and went beyond there job to make sure we were comfortable. I want to go back in the summer but only here. We had a blast. Breakfast was ok but needs a little more variety.
Just stayed for MLK weekend for 3 nights. Had the one bedroom suite, which was 2 queens and a pullout couch. Checked in at around midnight on Friday which was a breeze, and the man helping us was very nice and informative. Suite was VERY spacious and very clean. They provided breakfast each morning which was perfect. I was a little skeptical due to the cheap price, but was pleased surprised as we had zero issues or concerns. Would stay again.. maybe 18-20 mins to killington.
This is really an exceptional hotel in the area. Clean, spacious, quiet, tucked between Killington and Rutland. Price was right, and we will definitely stay again, and I kinda hope you don't because I'd like the pricing and availability to stay cheap and easy like we found it to be. :)
The full kitchen was terrific so we did not have to go out to dinner. Our family of 6 all had a place to sleep which isn't always the case in a more limited 2 bed room. We were in a suite. The suites are great.
Superb hotel with dedicated staff! Lisa, Stella, Steve and Claire and the others all provided amazing customer service! Comfortable room, good breakfast, and delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk in the evening!
The price is excellent for the service and room. I stay in the one bedroom suit with the family. It is a lot space. Breakfast is plenty of option and enought for everyone. The staffs are excellent. You can't get any better staffs. I have been staying there for the last 4 years. I come back every year mostly because of the staffs.
Stayed here for a night to attend a wedding. Place was gigantic and had lots of room for activities. Our room included a kitchen, living room, dining room, and bedroom with a king bed. Very clean and quiet. They also have free cookies at night! Only issue we had with our stay was the fire alarm started chirping at 5am after a wedding...BRUTAL. Would stay here again.
Very disappointing. For the price you pay here alot of things wrong .Low water pressure, dirty floor, dead remote for tv. Brought new batteries to me that were almost as bad as dead ones.Lot better deals in Rutland plus lot better Hotels
This Best Western is so welcoming and well-maintained. It has several buildings and the suite feels like a home away from home with a full-size kitchen. The bedroom has two beds and the living room has a pull out couch. The front desk clerk Stephen provided a list of area restaurants and highlighted a few for us. There is free breakfast and wifi. A little walking path takes you to a little country store. Cookies and milk at 8pm. The outdoor pool is heated in season. The workout room is tiny, but the equipment looks new. Sugar and Spice in nearby Mendon is highly recommended for pancakes or omelettes if you want a famous Vermont breakfast.
This is our 4th time staying at this hotel and we will go there again. The staff is excellent the room was immaculate and renovated with new updates. I love the additional equipment in the fitness center and I am looking forward to my next visit.
This is hotel with 5 buildings each building having its own laundry and the units were clean and kept clean. The buildings are separated from each other. The breakfast at the registration building was exceptional. Everything you could want for a breakfast was there. The buildings are made of wood and because of this the movement of the upstairs guests could be heard occasionally. The only problem I found with the hotel was the shower. There was plenty of hot water and pressure was fair, but when someone else was using their shower it could turn cold fast. My opinion is because the hot water tank was for multiple units and this was the only issue I had with this hotel. Being a senior I am glad that I had the first floor of the two story buildings, no elevators. The walk was not bad and they had an outside saltwater pool as well. Gym was in the reception building.
BW Rutland is an excellent option in the central Vermont area. Clean, up-to-date rooms and a decent breakfast. I was upgraded to a suite and it was exceptionally nice. We'll be back again next year!!!
We booked a last minute trip over Labor Day and stayed in a suite to suit the family. We were so pleasantly surprised at all the amenities at this hotel. The room was huge and nicely furnished - perfect for a family with 2 young children. We had a blast at the pool (heated) and exploring the grounds with the playscape. We used the grills and the picnic tables for a holiday lunch and let the kids run feral on the tennis courts. The grounds and the room were clean and well kept. The complimentary breakfast was a great extra. We have never been there before but would definitely consider going back with friends!!
We totally enjoyed staying here. Very peaceful and quiet here, situated in the countryside, but within Rutland city limits. There is nothing better than driving a long trip and being welcomed with coffee, lemon water and delicious chocolate chip cookies! Staff went out of their way to accomodate guests with disabilities. Lobby is full of rainy day things to do - books, puzzles and the two computers in lobby worked great and so did the Wifi in the units. An excellent city break for city slickers.
We stayed here several times in 90's and was always great. All these years later it is still great. Rooms are updated and clean. We stayed in suite so we would could cook meals if needed. Nice patio off the living room. Only problem our screen was ripped so couldn't leave door open at night with out bugs coming in. Front desk and house keeping friendly and helpful at all times. Morning breakfast had something for everyone to enjoy, and milk and cookies at 8 pm was a hit with my son. We will definitely be back.
We stayed at the BW for a wedding up at Mountaintop. The room was clean, the service and staff were amazing. Breakfast was included and very good. The location was perfect for what we needed. Good restaurants nearby which were recommended by the hotel.
Awakened to no water in suite. Getting ready for work. Staff showed no sense of urgency. Stated there was nothing he could do because the maintenance guy not answering his phone and told me while laughing to have a nice day. Very frustrating. Front desk is usually very responsive, didn't offer to go get water- nothing.
The staff is lovely. The room is clean, and the breakfast is plentiful. Unfortunately, the shared room entrances with a behind the door common area seem unsafe. Also, the parking area (if not in front of the building) is very dark. This is not a traditional hotel or motel layout.
We were in need of a week long hotel option that would be comfortable with two kids in tow. The suite was perfect - roomy and very clean and updated (and having the kitchen to stock with snacks and cold drinks was great.) Daily breakfast was fine - but what really impressed us is they sent a staff member out to get some allergen friendly options special for our needs. Staff was consistently pleasant and accommodating. We made good use of the pool and playground as well. We'll be back!
We came to Rutland to attend a wedding. From the moment we arrived, although there was a bit of a delay with our room, Eli and Lisa couldn't have been more pleasant, offering us coffee, directions to our wedding venue, giving us info about the area. Before we knew it, room was ready, we were invited to a bbq at 5:30 in the dining area, cookies and milk at 8....a real “homey” comfortable place. We loved it!
A beautiful property tucked off the main road in central Vermont. The staff was exceptional. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Many extras were offered - nightly cookies and milk... Wednesday night hamburgers and hot dogs. Breakfast was one of the best I have been offered at any Best Western.
We got to the hotel and their staff was very pleasant to deal with on assigning the two rooms for our family. Most of the rooms have a common entrance with a second room. That is a plus for security but each of the “common areas” need some cleaning and fresh air. They had a musty smell that lingered into the room. Their breakfast is outstanding! Great waffles and fruit and eggs and sausage! Very good value for the rooms!
I can't begin to say enough about the staff at this location. They are always wonderful and we have stayed here a few times over the years. The location is also great and the staff makes it that much better. They even offer chocolate chip cookies and milk every night at 8 PM and, during the summer, complimentary BBQ every Wednesday. Definitely makes it feel more like home away from home. Eli, Stella, Marissa and Stephen were just fantastic!
Best Western Rutland was a very nice well-kept property. We had a suite with bedroom 2 queen beds with separate kitchen area and sitting area. Spacious and very clean. They also had out cute fall decorations. Would stay again.
We booked a suite here based on good reviews. We thought we were getting a hotel room. Instead, it was like an apartment with laundry facilities just steps from our room. We loved this place. Nice pool...cold, though. 8:00 cookies..,get there early though. Tennis and basketball courts were nice. A kiddy swing set. It's a great place. After being in the car for a road trip for 10 days, the space of the room was wonderful. The room had an interesting smell. It wasn't bad or musty, just different.
I wouldn't normally stay here because it is very near my daughter who lives in Waterbury. However, I wish it were at a halfway point to my daughter's house so I could stay here every time we make the trip from Pennsylvania.
On our recent visit to Vermont, we stayed at this hotel. Although it was clean and a great value, the suite we had just looked slightly tired. The rooms could use some sprucing up. However, having said that, I would stay in there again.
This hotel moved the two rooms I had booked to accommodate other guests. This means, although I was promised two rooms next to one another, they could not make this happen. Additionally, the AC in our room was broken and they couldn't fix it until Monday, which meant we went two very hot and humid days and nights without a working AC. We were also traveling with an infant, which made this extremely challenging. The staff gave us a box fan and told us to use that! Well, there were holes in the screens of every window, which let the mosquitos in and the box fan didn't even stand up on it's own -- we had to prop it up against something which made it fairly useless. We were just given a
We have been staying here few times a year for the past 6 years -- we come here during the summer when we visit the area to bring our kids to camp and to pick them up. It just keeps getting better.... The rooms are spacious and always clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it is an excellent value! We always opt for the suite - we prefer these to the standard rooms. We look forward to our next visit later this summer....
Out of all of the Best Westerns that I have stayed at, this one was definitely the nicest and the cleanest! The layout of this property is somewhat different from most other chain hotels, in that there are several buildings spread out across the property. A huge breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and the pool in the back was gorgeous. What I liked the most about this place was the ability to swim early in the morning before it was time to check out and start the drive back home. Note: Many years ago, this Best Western used to be called the Hodge Penny Inn.
Room was clean but a little smaller than expected. Beds were comfortable for the most part. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included. Very quiet. Also, free chocolate chips cookies at the end of the day.
I have always had good luck with Best Western hotel and this one didn't let me down. Staff is very friendly. When we arrived a bit earlier than normal check in they were able to accommodate us and let us check in early. Our room had a kind sized bed and a couch. It was clean and well maintained. The bed was decently comfortable, and the sheets were very soft. The grounds are nice and quiet and well maintained with a playground, pool, and tennis courts out back. Even though the hotel is right on Rt 4 you don't hear any noise at night. The breakfast offered a good selection including make your own waffles, cereals, pastries, eggs, yogurt, etc. Better than the average hotel breakfast. The drive to downtown Rutland takes no more than five minutes, so location wise it's perfect. Can't go wrong staying here.
This was a great place to stay if you need a quiet place. It's an older hotel but clean. There are outside entrances to your room so it's handy if you want to easily access your vehicle. The rooms aren't very big. And, the rooms could use a little TLC - the hot water faucet in our room was broke. Breakfast is included.
After arriving without reservation we were able to check in quick for a reasonable rate. clean room and parking right in front of the room so you don't need to carry the bags too far. They even had a motorcycle wash station .
Stayed one night in early May while attending a wedding in the area. Staff was incredibly friendly and kind and the room and accommodations were clean and comfortable. Beds were super comfortable! Breakfast in the morning is a great spread with tons of options! Highly suggest if visiting the Rutland/Killington/Chittenden area!
We arrived sometime in March and stayed until May.... I travel for a living and my husband and I spend a lot of time in hotels and extended stays and this Best Western by far is the top of our list so far ( and I've been doing this for going on 10 years now ) not only are the suite rooms more than adequate, the staff are like family you haven't seen in years!! All of the staff know what they are doing and they do it with a smile! Whether it's front desk, housekeeping, or the maintenance they all are great! Thanks for the great stay and I will recommend to many others!! Gonna miss you guys!
Anytime you stay at a best western it is a wonderful experience. Will stay again! Great rooms. Great service. Wonderful breakfast. Amazing pool. Have a basket ball court and tennis court. Cookies in the front lobby. Just amazing!
We were in the area to celebrate our daughter's graduation. The Best Western Inn and Suites Rutland-Killington was a perfect setting for a great get away to spend time with family. The suite was very comfortable and the area has breathtaking views...all wonderful!
The Rutland/Mendon Best Western is a great choice for anyone visiting the area. We were there for a Memorial Service. Our stay was comfortable and affordable at the group block rate. Thank you for your service to us during a difficult time!
Nice to have a hotel with a suite near Rutland. Breakfast is excellent. Newspaper provided. Milk and cookies at night too! Good for family as pool and tennis courts are available. Puzzles also provided for rainy day.
They had puzzles and games at the front desk to take back to your rooms. Very exciting for me because I love puzzles!! The rooms are in buildings that look like apartment buildings. Never stayed anywhere like that but I'd definitely do it again. You don't hear the noise from people in the hallway as much. The breakfast is pretty big as far as free hotel breakfasts go.
This place is close to Killington on the edge of Rutland, Vermont. The staff are friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate if they are available. They have a wonderful free breakfast every morning, computers with a printer, and a few pieces of exercise equipment. One of the few nice places to stay in Rutland.
Very accommodating and friendly hosts. The cabin type set up was also a great escape from our busy lives in New York City. My family went snowboarding and I got to enjoy the quiet surrounding of Rutland from BW and it was a great staycation overall. We wanted to try the steakhouse the frontdesk suggested but we ran out of time. We enjoyed the 8pm cookies a lot though!
I stayed at this hotel because it was extremely close to Killington Ski area. I have no complaints about the hotel. Breakfast was complimentary and they had a big selection of breakfast foods to choose from
We had a problem with another hotel not having our reservation when we called on the way. They were very rude. I called Best Western Rutland and Dorothy was so professional and helpful. Luckily there was an available but I got the impression she would have done almost anything to help us. When we arrived, Dorothy and Merissa couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much for saving the day.
Stayed here 5 months during a work assignment. I was in a room then Suite for the majority of my stay. Very spacious and has a full size kitchen. They are currently undergoing upgrades and it is helping to update the whole place. Plus it is close to Killington to go skiing or snowboarding! Stella, Dorothy, Claire, and Doug are all great people and really made my stay so much more enjoyable and more like home. They never got tired of me locking myself out and were always incredibly helpful. They are great people and the rooms are catching up to them! Highly recommend this place!
Our room was set back off the road with a great view of the mountains. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was an added bonus. The rooms were nice and very comfortable. The milk and cookies offered every night was another added bonus. Bathrooms nice and clean, but the hot water was too hot! I will certainly visit this hotel again.
The friendly staff at this hotel makes it my favorite place to stay in the area! I recommend it to all my family and coworkers. The separate buildings make for a peaceful stay and the rooms offer everything I need, and if the rooms don't have it the staff will go out of their way to find an accommodation
This hotel is showing its age but still worth consideration. For the slightly steep nightly rate do you get an above average breakfast included. The rooms are very much aged which is fine as the beds and pillows are comfortable. But the room does smell and needs to be aired a bit more than is being done currently. Other than that there isn't much to say.
easy access to a quality breakfast is key when traveling to the kids and when it's free it's even better. this hotel had all that. three waffle irons, two types of waffle batter as well as eggs, sausage and other cold foods made the morning go every smoothly. would definitely recommend and will probably stay here again.
We stayed in a queen suite and it was perfect for our stay. A room with two queen beds and a spacious family room with a pull our sofa bed. Extra space with a separate dining area and kitchen. We decided to bring to blow up mattresses to put in the living area instead of using the pull out and with all the extra space that made it super easy. We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast in the morning was super easy and perfect as we headed for the slopes.
We stayed in this hotel for a New Year's Eve winter wedding. The hotel was completely adequate but was also quite tired. The room was clean and efficient but felt very dark and enclosed. We, unfortunately, were not able to partake of the hotel's free breakfast because it was only available until 9:30 and we had been at a New Year's Eve wedding until at least 1:00 AM. One would have thought that the management might have made an adjustment on New Year's Day given how many of their patrons were attending a wedding! The price was right but this place could really be stellar if it were lightened up and cleaned up a bit more!!
No heat on Sunday morning. They gave us 2 space heaters as we had a suite. Rude check-in. I requested additional chairs for some friends staying at the same hotel, to watch the football game, the main desk told me I could come pick some up but they needed me to return them as soon as possible. There were several of us staying here for a wedding. I expected better service.
Just a few minutes north of downtown Rutland, and ten mins from Pico/Killington- convenient and cozy, worth a try! Very accomodating staff willing to go the extra mile. Great included continental breakfast and small gym. Great little place.
My first two stays were great!! However my last two stays not so much. Minor problems that could easily be taken care of. Otherwise good hotel in a good location. Good breakfast also. And plenty of parking.
We had an excellent experience from start to finish at this hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful. Absolutely loved the room which was a free upgrade. Thank you Best Western staff. You truly are the best!
Spent two nights here while in town for a wedding. One of the better Best Westerns that we have stayed in. Friendly and accommodating staff. Great value for the money. Rooms spread out in four separate detached buildings. Didn't ski, but set up looks to be well tailored for skiers.
Great place to be!!!. Staff extra friendly always willing to assist for all you're needs....always have a smile on their faces .Suites are great very spacious. Now decorated for the Christmas Holiday. We have great maid service.
This Best Western has the Vermont charm and feel that you expect from a hotel in the Green Mountains. I would definitely stay here again. Its about 20 minutes to Killington Ski mountain and just down the road from the downtown on Rutland. Centrally located its a great spot.
The suite was big and very clean. Had everything we needed for a little get away. Hotel is close to down town Rutland. Staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations on where to go. Breakfast was yummy. Definitely will be back when visiting the area.
Stayed here multiple times every time never had a bad experience.Staff are very accommodating the rooms are very clean. I mean very clean. Being it's a franchise I know some franchise owners don't stay up to certain standards however this should be a Best Western Premier for the standards that they hold here are very high. They have the basic room to huge Suites with kitckens. Also an indoor swimming pool. Great housekeeping staff front desk are more than friendly and I think I already said very accommodating the place is very big. The only downfall is the pool is in a separate building then where the rooms are however it's nicely spread out. Also they have a wonderful breakfast that comes with your stay that gets you ready for a good day of skiing. Don't really need to eat for the rest of the day after breakfast there. Also there's a very good restaurant within walking distance.
Front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodative. Staff were knowledgeable about the surrounding area and locations of interest. We had an issue where the system deleted my booking; Trip Advisor called the hotel and the front desk upgraded us to a queen suite at no extra charge and the room was ready when we arrived (called the same day just before we left). The FREE morning breakfast was always freshly cooked and the meal could last you the entire day. The rooms were VERY neat, cleaned well, and the hot water for showers was plentiful. The double queen suite had a fully sized kitchen stocked with pots/pans/dishes/glasses/etc. and a dining room large enough to easily accommodate a family of four. This is my SECOND stay at this hotel and I will probably book with them again for another Vermont foliage tour.
The staff is amazing including but not only James, Dorothy, Stella, Eli and Dave! The rooms are clean and the breakfast was super! Can't wait to come back in the future! Everyone was super helpful and helped me bring my bags up to my room as there was no elevators but at least they helped.
Awesome couples experience, great front desk personnel, Lisa was great and accomdsting to our needs. First time stay and will be back in two weeks with my entire family!!! Visited the recommendations of Lisa to visit the farmers market, Halloween Parade and Downtown Manchester which was a great experience. The breakfast was delicious and free !!! Thank you Lisa and staff for taking care of our family and making it a joyful experience. ????
I am a local wedding photographer and had the bridal party getting ready in one of the suites here. The location was great, room was large for getting space for photos. Also, the suite had a sliding glass door out to a deck right outside so we were able to get some amazing photos on the grounds of the hotel by just stepping right outside the suite. The staff is fantastic to work with and the room was very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel!
This hotel was great. It's made up of several small buildings with a small number of rooms. This made parking easy, and gave a different feel to the place. I'm a Best Western member, and was upgraded to a lovely suite with a full kitchen, which made my stay much nicer. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was great. The kitchen was a delight. I'd go back at any time, and bring my dog!
Room was nicely decorated except it had a very old bathtub that looked dirty and couldn't be cleaned or fixed to look any better. There was what looked like old glue on the bottom with ground in dirt stuck to it. Looked like they had glued down non- slip bath mat that they had pulled up then put down a new one but not exactly over the old one so the bottom of the tub was a real mess! Also there were a lot of disgusting finger prints on the bathroom door along with a thick layer of dirty dust on the molding on the door panel. I left a note for the maid to please clean which she did, so I am wondering why it wasn't cleaned routinely to start with... Also a lot of greasy fingerprints on the TV cabinet. Very overpriced under the circumstances.
Upon arrival no hot water in sink that did not drain. Drain was totally fixed.Hot water was OK if you waited long enough. Bathroom door did not close. Previous occupants toe nail cuttings on rug when we arrived and still there three days later when we left.
Room was musty smelling. The hotel tried an ionizer but was only mildly effective. Moved to another hotel the next night. Breakfast was average. Staff was friendly until we wanted to check out early. Location was good. Grounds were nice. would have been a decent value for the money if room was not musty
Staff was very friendly, both at check in and out. When I turned on the air-conditioning in the bedroom, it had a musty/moldy smell. Needs updated. Breakfast was good but very crowded. This property was just o.k.
The rooms are very spacious, the beds are very comfortable. Shower could use a touch more power. Have stayed here before & will return again. The staff is always polite & professional. The location is great - close to foliage routes, restaurants, shopping, parks, & highways.
Promised an upgrade to a suite for our entire group. Got dinky sized rooms with double beds that were very soft and lumpy. Not worth the price especially since they lied to us about accommodations. I suspect they sold our rooms to some who came in at the last minute and paid a higher rate.
Comfortable beds, nice room decor. A bit pricy for size of room and location being Rutland. Breakfast was adequate although the hot food options were limited. The setting, appearance and cleanliness were all above average.
This hotel was a real treat -- it was much more than expected -- the staff was friendly and effective -- there were signs of extra effort by the staff and pride in performing well -- the decorations for fall clearly showed extra effort and attention -- only low point for me was a less than fully satisfactory breakfast -- some real meat options would be nice
The manager, Eli, welcomed me back. I stayed at this location for an extended period of time as a travel nurse, so it was nice to be recognized and welcomed back. Dorthy was extremely nice. Mary in housekeeping went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get my baseball glove and retainer back to me that I left in the room in a very short period of time. I wish I would have been notified as soon as it was found so that maybe I could have come back to get it before arriving in Boston since we didn't leave Rutland until 2 pm. But none the less, she did everything she could to get it back to me the next day. And I very much appreciate it. I love this hotel and location and will always stay here when I'm in the area. I now stay at best western whenever I can thanks to this place and the points I receive.
This was the higher priced place we stayed on our two week trip and I did talk him down to get the rate we got. The room was small and sort of run down for the price we paid. We were put in the farthest complex from the office. We had to drive to breakfast in the morning. The room was small and the bathroom was smaller. It was sort of clean but I it smelled a little. We couldn't figure out how to get ice so we had to ask at the desk. It wasn't in their info book. There is an ice machine every other building...not ours. I had to walk next door and upstairs to get ice. Breakfast was adequate but nothing wonderful. Night check in guy was nice.
We planned a motorcycle road trip from Boston to Montreal and back. We have stayed at Best Westernsin the past because they are motorcycle friendly. The crew at the Rutland Best Western were extremely accommodating. We stayed here one night on our way to Montreal and then again on our return to Boston. Thankfully they secured the clothing items my husband left in the bureau drawers for our return trip. THANK YOU!!!!!
I thought it was a good value for the price paid. There are not a lot of accommodation in this area. It was difficult to book a room anywhere in this location for the weekend. The staff was the best part of our stay. The room was outdated and not very clean. It had a strange odor during our one night stay. I did not sleep at all. The breakfast was good....as far as free breakfasts go.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Inn in Rutland. The hotel has a number of buildings that are spread out on their property. We were at the far end of the grouping away from the highway, which was nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly & helpful. They have a Wednesday BBQ for guests, and Milk & Cookies available at 8PM each evening. Complimentary breakfast is available - though we did not really take advantage of this to review it. There is one nice, but pricey restaurant within walking distance, & also a super gift shop next door... but other than that, you will need to drive to any other attractions, food, etc. We do recommend & would stay again. Thank You !!
A great place to stay, close enough to all Killignton attractions and activity, yet so peaceful and wonderful. We took the spacious suite and regular room next to it. Very clean place and lovely accommodation. The staff and service are very nice!
Nice location. Rooms divided between seven buildings. Our room was clean and spacious. Good breakfast with lots of choices. Definitely met our Best Western expectations for being clean and comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Service was great I highly recommend this hotel its pet friendly and very responsive to issues found by guests they were immediately corrected by the hotel staff. When they get on the national reservation system it will be a big plus to ensure a specific room we have stayed at this facility multiple times and love it.
Maybe 4 and 1/2 stars would be more accurate. This is a very nice and very comfortable place to stay with an extraordinarily helpful and accommodating staff. I was here five nights on a vacation visiting friends in Rutland and plan on coming back next year. Beyond the staff high points are a good location just a little ways out of town and away from the depressing commercial sprawl on US7 where most other major lodgings are located. The grounds are extensive and nicely landscaped and so the property has a nice country feel to it. There are lots of small and helpful amenities such a being able to park practically in front of your door, courtesy computers, coin washers and dryers, and courtesy newspapers, in addition to a pretty outdoor pool and an exercise room. Breakfast hours start earlier than many, which is a help and the hot and cold buffet is extensive and pretty complete. This wasn't my best breakfast but it was pretty good and thoroughly satisfying. The bathroom was very clean, the tub/shower worked well and the towels were generous in quantity and quality. I had the basic room which included a couch, a desk, a table and a bureau. The bed was good, not great but good. Some larger rooms have outdoor decks or patios. The systems are a bit old and need updating, although everything worked well. For example, when you call a guest from the outside, instead of a prompt to go directly to the room phone, the call is put through by the hotel operator. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and plan to return next year.
A top notch facility which is very accommodating from the great staff with outstanding customer service to the clean - quite -comfortable rooms and a plus is for the breakfast for the early risers. ~ Sean
I never write reviews but I was super impressed with this hotel and the staff! I made a reservation online for a wedding that I was attending. It showed there were only rooms with double beds available. I called to ask about changing to a king bed if possible and my request was granted without issue by a very accommodating staff member named Jason. Plans changed and the next day I had to change back to double beds and once again my request was granted without issue. The room was very nice and clean. The beds were quite comfortable and we all slept great! In the morning before leaving we decided to stop in for the continental breakfast and once again we were very impressed! So many meal options, it was delicious and everything was very clean! All the staff members were wonderful and we were consistently greeted with smiles. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area! Thank you!
Best Western is a great place to stay! The staff made us feel very welcome and the suite was clean with a lot of space. Breakfast had a lot of options available. It was very quiet even though the hotel seemed full. We enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the pool between our weekend activities. We've stayed here before and will again as this is the best hotel in the area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western! The staff were polite, welcoming, helpful, and courteous. The room was everything we expected with extremely comfortable beds. Immediate staff response to a maintenance issue.A wonderful choice. Breakfast was fantastic.
You couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. From the friendly and helpful front desk staff, to the spacious and comfortable rooms to the delicious breakfast, this is where you want to stay. It is very convenient to everything and very quiet. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
I had the pleasure of staying at the best western Rutland last week. It was a great experience and well worth it. It is by far the cleanest and well maintained hotel in Rutland. I stayed on a Wednesday night, and lucked into joining them for their weekly BBQ. It was the cherry on top of a great trip.
We felt the room was a little dated and small. My husband has bad knees and the 2nd floor room was hard to get to with luggage. Two rooms share an entry and it seemed awkward. It is right off the highway and the pool area quite a distance from our building.
The doors/locks were unusually difficult to use with the key card. Occasionally at other hotels you have to insert the card more than once but here you had to try over 10 times (or more, yes, I'm serious) to get the door's light to turn green and open. It was very frustrating for us because we were staying for a wedding and were carrying our luggage, nice clothing, and my 20 month old child and we had to put everything on the ground and my husband and I fought with this key card fiasco. The rooms and overall hotel are outdated but the bed was very comfortable which I guess is what really matters. I don't think the hotel was priced appropriately, it should be much less per night.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable. Although we didn't use them, there was a basketball court, tennis court and pool. All were clean and well maintained. Definitely worth staying there for the money...
We spent only one night at this motel, but it was very comfortable. When we checked in, the man at the desk gave us lots of good information on where we might find dinner - he was very helpful. Our room was in a building up the hill and off to the right, in a quiet spot and pet friendly. The room was clean – it was a tiny bit smaller than many rooms these days, or I would have given it five stars. But it was quiet and comfortable and we were very happy to be there.
Nice rooms & Amenities Feel very comfortable in their room, enjoy the complimentary breakfast, the heated salt water swimming pool, & the playground for grandchildren. I feel it is important to be brief & to the point & not windy.
These accommodations were extremely pleasant. I was in a suite that was very pleasant and quiet. It was so nice I have already scheduled another visit and am looking forward to more stays. It is convenient to many attractions, restaurants etc.
I am a travel nurse, and have stayed in many places. This hotel is my absolute favorite! Spacious suites, accommodating staff, housekeeping that works around your schedule, and front desk personnel who are truly warm and welcoming! We had friends that came for a short stay to visit us during our six months here, and they felt the same way!
This was a very nice hotel - we didn't know until we arrived that the set-up was much like a townhouse - our room had a separate bedroom, kitchen, and living room / dining room. It was like being at home! The staff was very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel.
We had a suite with 2 queen beds and living room with a sleeper couch and a full kitchen with everything u need in a kitchen, big rooms too ,clean Wi-Fi was very good as were the tv's and channels. They let us have early check and
Very friendly staff and clean room. We only stayed one night and had our border collie so stayed in Building 5 which is reserved for pets. I was worried the rooms wouldn't be tidy but they were very clean. The furniture in the TV room area was a little worn. The breakfast was great. The exercise room could use an exercise ball. I would definitely stay again. The staff seemed very happy and outgoing which made the stay even better.
Iv'e stayed all over the Rutland Vermont area and bye far this is the best Hotel in this area.Rooms are always clean and very friendly staff.Make it your next destination when your in the Rutland area. You wont be sorry!
We stayed last Saturday night in Rutland for a basketball tournament . Our room, a queen double, was a little small but served our needs . It was clean , comfortable , had everything we could have needed ( microwave and mini refrigerator) and the bathroom was clean with a nice hot shower !Lisa at the front desk was very kind and friendly when we checked it ( and when she answered the phone when I had called from the road). We missed the evening cookies as we were out, but I'm sure they were great. The breakfast had many options and included meat proteins, soft boiled eggs , Greek yogurt and the all the usuals - bread, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, danish, and make your own waffles ! I would totally recommend it and the price is great .
A suite that is larger than my apartment! and always clean and in order, a full kitchen and a perfect place to stay for a while or with family. Also i must say the staff is friendly and helpful. This may be Rutlands best value !
Facility is very nice and was easy to find, the suite is larger than some apartments I've stayed in. Staff is very nice and beyond helpful. Very pleasant hot breakfast, typical of most. I highly recommend!
This place is excellent and very clean. All the staffs are excellent and very professional. It is only 17 minutes from killington skii resort. The breakfast is great, fresh boil or fry eggs, yogurts, pan cakes. A lot of different kind of restaurants close by to eat. For those who like to do Yoga, there is a place across the street.
Very nice and welcoming staff Good, clean rooms, comfortable beds, safe environment Good breakfast with fresh items Well kept grounds off season, well plowed in winter Nearby Killington, PICO, and Rutland
I have stayed here several times over the years. Great location, front desk/hospitality is wonderful. Great selection of room sizes and styles and amenities with great pricing. However, housekeeping and property upkeep needs attention. The ice maker did not work in my bldg., so had to get ice over at next bldg. over, no biggie. The room did not seem to have had a thorough cleaning recently, with spiders in the closet and around the deck doors. Also, the maids did not give me shampoo and conditioner one time, had to go to front desk. I've never had these issues before, this was quite a sad surprise.
Very clean, pleasant staff. It was our first time through the area and just happened to be the first snow storm of the year and their sign was a pleasant surprise to see. The place looked great. If we travel that way again we will return to this hotel.
Very nice!! Clean! Don't forget breakfast is included...lots to see in the area..friendly staff. Very informative about the area! And don't forget about the cookies and milk at 8 pm they are awesome..
I want to thank Eli and your amazing staff for such a wonderful experience at the Best Western in Rutland. Everyone I spoke with who stayed at the BW had nothing but great things to stay about the hotel. Your staff at the front desk ( I truly wished I remembered her name- short brown hair) was so pleasant and accommodating. Thank you for upgrading our parents room also, they loved everything about their stay! We can't thank you and your staff enough for making our guests so happy with their stay!!
This is definitely the place to stay. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and do anything they possibly can to make you happy. Took a group of 46 people on a Vermont trip and not one person had a complaint which tells you how great they are. Beautiful well maintained property, the rooms were spotless, the breakfast was great. It was warm and inviting. We spent late evenings in the lounge area playing cards and were always acknowledged and asked numerous times if there was anything we needed. Evenings they always had yummy chocolate chip cookies and milk available. Couldn't have asked for anywhere more warm and friendly to stay at. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there when we return.
This was a great location in Rutland. Not your typical hotel. Six or more individual buildings with 4 or 6 rooms per building. Very quiet and secure. A few miles towards town the traffic is very heavy. This location is far enough away, you weren't even aware of the congestion. This is very close to the Norman Rockwell exhibit. The exhibit is worth a visit.
I do use that hotel during my business trips , and I think that it is the spot for skiers or and pleasure activities in this mountain area. Excellent hôtel pour la région , ce royaume du ski et d'activités de plein air .
Rooms with King size bed (like ours, 660) have heads under the windows- literally your face is 9" directly below the curtains. This means the cold, the light, the noise all comes directly onto your eyes and head all night long- you lie on your back and look up between curtain and window!!! Horrible, who in their right mind would place their guest's pillows under the curtains and then charge nearly $200 for the night....move the bed to the full wall!!! Oh, the mattress was so thin and old we could feel the wire/steel frame and every time either of us moved even slightly the whole bed shook/moved- no pillow top here! And...no elevators so if physically limited request first floor, and ice machines are only on 2nd floors of odd numbered buildings- 1, 3, 5, and 7 - like Seinfeld's soup nazi, no ice for you buildings 2, 4, 6.
This Inn & Suite is located in a beautiful little town and decorated for fall colors. They include a very nice breakfast. I would highly recommend this one if you are in the area. Suites are very comfortable.
We love the Best Western Rutland-Killington. The suites are very reasonable and great for our family. Rooms are clean, breakfast is convenient and there is something for everyone (kids love the make your own waffles). Staff is helpful and nice.
Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was very accommodating and friendly, the complimentary breakfast was outstanding, loved the pumpkin bread and waffles. Would definitely stay again. They even had fresh baked cookies and milk before bed!
We stayed one night at the Rutland Best Western and had a terrific experience. The room was very quiet and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Lighting in the bathroom was good. The desk staff were very helpful in giving directions to restaurants in town and helping to guide us to see the sights in the area. It was a very comfortable environment and we would recommend it to others.
If you're looking for a good night sleep I would not stay here. If you have no other option bring your own pillows because the pillows are extremely small and the bed is not too comfortable. Breakfast wasn't all that great, not a very wide selection of foods and the food that they did have tasted old. Room space and service was incredible very nice staff and extremely big rooms.
Amazing hotel!!! Very clean and comfortable! We Love the room and the breakfast!! For a free breakfast its awesome!! Love the spacious room! The location is great! The staff is very friendly and welcoming!! Everything about this place is amazing!!
My husband and I stayed for one night while on a recent bus tour. We were given a room with what I believe was supposed to be two double beds but the beds were very small. I would call them oversized twin beds instead of doubles. It didn't matter to us, we both took a bed, but for families with older kids, be forewarned that the beds are small enough that I could hang my hands over both sides while lying in the middle, so they would be a tight squeeze for two people sleeping in them. Our room was small but it was ample for one night's stay. I loved the unique layout of the hotel. Everything was in good working order, and was nice and clean. Management, including the general manager, was there to greet our bus. I was very impressed with how they treated us, they all seemed genuinely happy we were there. The breakfast was great, and the Green Mountain coffee was outstanding. There is a heated, saltwater pool that was still open but, unfortunately, I didn't have time to check it out. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. Don't miss going to the charming Rocking Horse Country Store next door, and the wonderful chef owned German restaurant across the street!
The hotel is more of a condo complex than a hotel. Stayed there 5 nights and it was one of the best hotel stays ever! I traveled for nearly 16 years for work, stayed in many hotels and never felt this comfortable. The staff was super friendly along with being very professional. Someone is doing a great job when it comes to hiring, you have to hire great people, you can't make bad employees change to great. Good job! The rooms have been updated nicely and the upper floors have a wonderful balcony, also less noise. If you are in the Rutland/Killington area for business or pleasure, you must give the Best Western a try. Stayed there 5 nights and two nights at the Killington Grand Resort, enjoyed our stay at the Best Western better, but keep in mind there is no bar and no restaurant on site. There is a cute restaurant up route 4, The Sugar and Spice, give it a try! Applebees is also close but I typically like to try the local spots when traveling. Hotel employees are always a great source to find good local eating establishments. Have fun in Rutland!
I can't believe what an absolutely wonderful stay I had at the Best Western in Rutland, Vermont. I was there for 14 weeks, my accommodations were great, but more importantly were the personnel there. They were spectacular to me they became not only friends but family. Any issues during my stay were taken care of in an efficient, timely manner. I witnessed a very upset customer trying to register there but unable to due to their situation -but watched how the receptionist/clerk took care of getting this customer satisfied in a very timely, professional manner while remaining calm and compassionate for these persons. I deeply appreciate the care and concern this organization has for all the customers coming through their doors here. My thanks to all at the Best Western Rutland/Killington, Vermont. Marion Bauer
Having stayed at many Best Western's before, I have to say this is THEE best one I have ever stayed at. Our room not only was clean, it was spotless! My wife and I have stayed at many different hotels, of many different chains, over the years and this one has to be up there with the best. From the front desk when we arrived, to the room, to the breakfast they offer, they certainly know how to do business. This is the first time I have ever written a review but I can tell you this, if you visit this area and do not include a stay at this establishment, you are doing yourself a disservice.
Excellent staff, quiet location, great layout more like a condo complex than a motel, clean rooms. As a Best Western rewards member, I was able to get a rate below the ones from all the Internet booking sites. I would stay here again.
We've stayed at this hotel many times and in all seasons, it's the perfect location for everything to see and do in the area. It's a condo style set up with regular hotel rooms as well as 1 bedroom suites. We especially like the suits which for our family of 5 is perfect! We can cook in the well equipped kitchen and not have to eat out every evening which allows us to spend more money on the fun vacation stuff! The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The heated outdoor pool is sparkling and refreshing and this past stay our room was right next to the pool...just out the sliding door which my kids really liked. The tennis courts are terrific for a little recreation as is the basketball hoop and the playground. Plenty of room for kicking the soccer ball around too! The daily free continental breakfast surpasses the usual cold buffet selection one would find at many hotels with hot fresh made waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, breads, yogurts, cereal, juices and coffee. Be sure to grab your free copy of USA today. I love the gym for a quick cardio workout before I start my day. The staff can't be friendlier and are always helpful. Looking forward to our next stay.
The location was very convenient, and our family's single room and suite were comfortable and clean. However, what almost spoiled the weekend was the confusion and incompetence at the front desk. The staff, including Dorothy who checked us in, was friendly, and our February phone reservation was honored even though they never sent us a confirmation email as requested. However, the front desk checked us out Sunday morning, though our reservation was till Monday! We got no notification until the keys didn't work Sunday afternoon. Then the family members in the suite were ordered to immediately evacuate their quarters so that they could be cleaned for the next guests! So instead of enjoying the activities at the wedding we were attending, we had to pack up everything and move to another building. Upon checking out, their printer was broken, so we requested an emailed receipt/statement of the charges. That never arrived till I phoned the manager 2 days later. And then only one statement came, and my follow-up email was ignored. I will never stay there again, and I wish we had just found another place to stay.
The Best Western Hotel & Resorts in Rutland, Vermont is a quiet, beautiful, quaint and leisurely located country setting. the stay here was a central place from which to visit the numerous places of interest and discovery. Our stay was marked by gracious service and a overall courtesy. Thank you for a great experience. We surely will recommend this resort to all our friends....T. Buck...
I have stayed here many times over the years. My wife and I are retired and over 70. The rating of 4.5 stars amazes me because if any lodging deserves 5 stars, this one does. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Dorothy. No matter what your experience was getting here, she will get you smiling in short order. Checking in was a breeze. Two questions I always have when I get to the room are; when is breakfast and what is the wifi password? Both answers were written on my key envelope. The rooms are spacious with updated everything. You immediately notice how clean everything is. You should also observe how clean and convenient the check in office is. There are two computers available with a printer. Dining tables provide ample space to enjoy the continental+ breakfast. Tammy keeps the hot items such as ham, eggs, and French toast available. Home baked sweets, cereals, yogurt and waffles are also included. Located between Manchester ( shopping, recreation) and Killington (recreation) this lodging is easy to get in and out as well as close access to you ur room. I don't know how they decide on the "employee of the month" because everyone I have encountered here after many visits is as welcoming as the other. Oh well, all lodgings would want to have staff equal to the folks at Best Western Rutland.
Comfy room, great beds, it was hard to leave the next morning! The property is maintained beautifully, flower beds, clean, inviting, heated pool. Okay breakfast. Located just east of Rutland and west of the Killington ski area.
While awaiting my turn to check in at Best Western Rutland Killington, I witnessed kindness, compassion, and patience, as Lisa, night time office manager, assisted a party of 4 people. Lisa aided the group by locating special accommodations elsewhere, after an online travel site mistakenly sent the group to this hotel. Lisa was competent, polite, and extremely helpful to this stranded group of travelers. I was greatly impressed by Lisa's positive attitude and humanity. I was pleased to know that Rutland Killington employed such wonderful people!!! The Rutland Killington Best Western is clean, comfortable, and charming. The staff is very pleasant and cheerful!!
This Best Western Inn in Rutland was perfect for us. The price was extremely competitive for all the amenities. There were tennis courts, a lovely pool area behind the chalet units at the end of the property. There was a playscape for the younger children. The parking was ample and convenient. The inn offers a free breakfast with plenty of offerings from scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurts and different breads. I'm sure the offerings change daily, however. The room and bathroom were immaculate with very comfortable beds, a large flatscreen television, a large desk for working, a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. The desk staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. The landscaper does a beautiful job with all the beautiful flowers, plantings, and the well kept lawn. The security was impressive. We had a locked door into a small vestibule that lead to our own locked room.Very good locks inside the room, too. Some rooms have balconies too. This inn would be a great pick for anytime of the year.
beds very comfortful was not very hot water. wheelchair shower life saver..but I could not use spray from shower chair manager could not find luggage cart and we both were handicappedso it was hard to get ib
This is our go-to hotel for camp drop-offs and pick-ups. Rooms are basic and well cared for, always clean. Plus the people at the front desk are always super friendly and helpful. We made use of the pool for the first time this year and found it to be quite nice. The water was a perfect temperature and its in a beautiful setting. They have 2 tennis courts, too.
We were upgraded to a suite upon our arrival which was a nice surprise. It was spacious and comfortable, more than we could have asked for. The breakfast was so so. The other Best Western In Waterbury VT had a better selection. But it was clean and comfy and for the price it was even better. Now that we have become Gold Members due to our Harley Davidson motorcycle, we will be staying more often in these hotels when traveling! Thanks for an awesome vacation!
We had rented a suite for one night and would have loved to stay longer. The rooms were spacious, clean, neat and very comfortable. We had asked for handicap accessible and were on the first floor with a walk out patio facing the tennis courts and pool. The queen size beds were so comfortable. The breakfast that morning offered a variety of foods with eggs, sausage, waffles, pastry, juice and coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful and willing to help in any way possible. All in all , we will be back for sure.
Staff was very accomodating. Hotel was neat and clean. Room was very comfortable. The bed was also comfortable. Very nice location and very quiet. The only thing good about the continental breakfast was the hot coffee
Superior accommodation in the Killington area. Very peaceful location with nice views of the Green mountains. Very comfortable beds and the suites with living room and patio were excellent. They provide complimentary hot breakfast and free internet. Free parking in front of room units. Swimming pool and 2 tennis courts. Central to Rutland and Killington. We visited in the summer so I can't speak for the winter experience but I will definitely stay here again if I am visiting this area.
Our reservation was for a two-night stay in a double room we found the room to be clean, however the room was very small the smallest size that I've ever stayed in all my travels. It had two double beds with a desk. we had a problem with the refrigerator when I got back to the room after the first day everything I put in the refrigerator was warm we called maintenance they came right away and switched out for a new refrigerator however what he said about the refrigerator was too absurd he said that since we turned it up to a higher number it was not cool in order for the refrigerator to be cool it needs to be on the lowest number (1). At the front desk upon check in we were told the pool is heated to 82 degrees. We went for a swim and the pool wasn't warm. As for the air conditioning in our room.. it was loud and on the second night it was warm in the room since the AC wasn't working well . For this reason I was not completely satisfied with this stay. Office staff and support staff very friendly and helpful.
This hotel is set over 7 buildings , the first room we got was in building 7 ground floor corner position , it was very Dark , we asked if we could move the hotel manager was very helpful and said it was not a problem she gave us a suite no extra charge , the hotel is in a beautiful location , the breakfast was very good and coffee on tap 24 hours if you did not want to make your own in your room , beds very comfortable , the only downside was the out door pool it was salt water not heated , and not very clean it had a scum across the top we did not complain as the weather was not suitable for swimming , however we were disappointed with the standard , guest laundry very good
It was our second time there and we really enjoyed our stay! I would highly recommend it. They include breakfast too which is a plus! I have never stayed at a Best Western but will be back real soon...
I had a wonderful experience with the staff at this hotel after an issue with my reservation, they were very helpful. The location was great and close to so many beautiful sites in the area. The room was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was good. I will stay here again if I am ever in the area.
great place and good people always a pleasure staying here. This location is the nicest Best Western I've been to yet and will always stay here when ever I'm out this way. Not far from everything but not in the middle of the city where you have all kinds of noise and people to deal with. Thanks for another great stay!
It was on the outside of town. After a long drive it was great to get there. As a Best Western rewards member we received a gift when we arrived. It was confusing as to where our room was. The hotel has 7 units of rooms. We were in unit 6. The hotel has an outdoor salt water heated pool, we did not have time to use it. Warm cookies and milk waited for us in the lobby. The room was very nice. The only complaint was the bed under the window. Outside light was a bother as it shown in under the drapes. Friendly staff.
I called directly to book our rooms because I need a room that is accessible.I had read reviews calling the rooms, "spacious." Hilarious! Our King bedded room was so tiny they crammed the bed into the corner so there was space to walk into the bathroom that one could barely turn around in. There was a ramp that was unusable up to the common entrance area for about 4 rooms. It was unusable because it had about a 2 inch elevation where it started. The 'ramp' certainly does not meet ADA guidelines. Neither does the bathroom. The hotel placed an elevated toilet seat-like in rehab centers and nursing homes. The hand hold from that seat blocked the toilet paper. We removed it and found that the actual toilet height was that of an old elementary school. No way could someone in a wheelchair get up the ramp to use a key to get in the small common entrance while still in their chair and push the door open from the 'ramp' then enter the shared, tiny hall. I should have known there would be a problem when I called day of arrival to reconfirm and the woman working at the desk said, "what do you mean by accessible?" Oh boy. It was one night, I had my husband and my son to help me or I'd never have gotten in that room.
My companion and I stayed at this hotel and we enjoyed it. It was on a main road but just outside of town so it was quiet. We had a nice clean and comfortable room. The property is nicely laid out in several buildings and the views were beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here.
good basic place to stay with excellent hospitality. The breakfast , I felt, was a bit off compared to other free breakfast places we have stayed. The business area had good online and wifi available. Printed boarding passes without problem. We would stay again Harley Davidson Bikers caused sound problems, but they were kind, congenial guests.
Stayed two nights in a queen suite. Nice space with full kitchen. Rooms have back sliding glass doors to a small patio/deck. Good closet space. Nice pool area however, they need more chairs and lounges. Towels for pool need to be picked up at front desk. Breakfast bar included waffles, cereal, and one sterno of sausage.
Convenient; welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable in a quiet location. This would be a great place for anyone skiing or enjoying outdoor recreation in the Rutland-Killington area. The physical set up of the site is much more laid back than most other places I've stayed.
My wife and I had stayed at this location over the years even before it was a Best Western (Hogge Penny Inn). It has never failed to impress for the value received. It is not a traditional setting for a hotel/motel but rather a ski condo with separate rooms in separate buildings scattered over the landscape. (No kids running up and down the halls at all and lots of fresh air and private views and decks)
Outstanding comfort, clean quiet rooms, great breakfast included. Salt water pool, very friendly and accommodating staff. Would definitely stay here again! Close to restaurants and set back from the road. Great Value!
This turned out to be an excellent choice for our stay in Rutland. Numerous freestanding buildings house the rooms with the breakfast and registration being in another. The room was clean and spacious. The desk staff was outstandingly welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was adequate.
I highly recommend this place. Beautiful views, great rooms, and very nice people that work here. Right off a main road but away from the city so less traffic and issues. Couldn't have asked for a better place for the weekend!
Booked in for 1 night and stayed for 3 .... We had a very pleasant surprise once we checked into our suite which had 2 comfortable queen beds large lounge , full kitchen ,dining area this was more like a little apartment . the breakfast I have to say was most disappointing so we decided to skip this option . The front desk staff was friendly so all in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity . Dave and Jenni Cape Town South Africa.
My family calls this place our home away from home. We stay at this Best Western 4 to 5 times a year and will continue to use it as long as their is availability. For the price, the place is a great place to stay when skiing up in the Killington resorts. Typically we reserve the suite as it provides the perfect space for my family of 4. One bedroom and one bath along with a living room and kitchen truly give us the space we need when staying over the weekends. It is about 20 mins away from the mountain and is conveniently located near the downtown Rutland area. A huge plus is the included breakfast as its nice to just walk over in the AM to get a decent bite to eat prior to getting ready to go up to the slopes. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. After my 5 hour drive from home, they have always been pleasant and cordial when checking in.....a huge plus after being in a car that long. Highly recommend this place!
very good location, near the ski area and the town, the rooms were really big and fully equipped, what was really good since we were all in the same room. the complementary breakfast was also great and the cookies in the end of the day was the icing on the cake!
Very nice facility. Lisa at reception could not have been more helpful. On arrival she and the manager, Eli after welcoming us and introducing us to the facility, got us dinner reservations at a very nice restaurant. The room was clean and neat with enough towels and a comfortable bed. Saw the frig and microwave but did not use it. Always felt right at home. Could not have been happier.
Stopped in I the way up to Stowe because I was too tired to continue driving. Jason at the front desk was just finishing up with a tour bus of British guests and as they were settling into their rooms, they were calling asking for amenities and towels not allowing him to catch a break, and completely disregarding the line of people they just left. Let me say, he handled it with such a calmness and professional attitude that I wanted to scream. He was expedient, smiled the whole time, and was delivering towels between check ins. I couldn't believe that he was alone. I offered to help, I told him to take his time and not to worry about me. I was rewarded with a small upgrade that I didn't ask for or expect. When I awoke the next day and went over for breakfast, he was wiping tables and cleaning up after the same group of people, again with a smile, and he remembered my name and asked me how I slept...being in the hotel business, I was amazed at his poise and skill. He can work anywhere, but this hotel is blessed to have him. I think a raise is in order...great job Jason.
I traveled with my 80-year-old mom to visit relatives in Rutland, VT. This hotel was amazing. The beds were super comfortable (very important for an elderly person), the breakfasts had a wide variety including eggs, fruit, bagels, cereal & oatmeal, fresh waffles and a wide variety of drinks. The coffee was EXCELLENT! The staff was very friendly and engaging - I can't say enough about how much we loved our stay.
You can't beat it for the price. Clean and well-equipped rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Stayed here to ski at Killington - about 20 minutes away. Free breakfast. Now I'm just typing characters to meet the 200 minimum.
Overall room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the temperature in the room was an unbearable 81 degrees. We could not turn the temperature down and had to resort to opening the windows and drapes to moderate the temperature, unfortunately windows faced a common access area so anyone walking by could look in. Also coffee maker was in the bathroom. There is no way that I would ever use a coffee maker in that location.
We stayed in at the Best Western in Rutland Vermont during a college visit to Castleton State College. It was nice, no issues, very clean room, friendly staff, and a good complimentary breakfast. The location is convenient to everything in downtown Rutland. Great price too, for what you pay you would expect it not to be as nice.
the Hotel was very nice. the location was ok but the rates were reasonable. I wish the beds were larger. Our beds were only doubles and with 2 kids and my wife the room was a little snug. I would recommend this hotel to other people. It is a good location , close to restaurants and other stores. about 15 minutes to Killington.
We have been coming here every year to ski for 20+ years. In the early years we experimented with a couple other lodgings. But just kept coming back here and it is all we have done for 15 yrs now. Great suites, great prices. Pleasant staff. I like being a couple minutes away from the access road and it's party animals, etc. Big free breakfast and close to mountain and Rutland. My only criticism....incorporate the local original name back in.... "Hog Penny Inn"
We had a great weekend away at the Best Western Rutland- very pleasant and courteous staff, and comfortable suite. The breakfast is a hearty and healthy selection. The locations provides easy access to both Piko and Killington Mountains. We will return and stay again.
I had a great stay at the Best Western. I received great value for money and would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Rutland, Vermont. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again. Many thanks to the staff for all their good work.
Stayed for a ski trip, ground floor room was very handy. Staff was helpful lobby was nice. All I had was a cup of coffee so I can't speak about the free b'fast. I would stay here again , and plan to to so before the end of season
Easy access to Rutland, Pico and Killington. Great, reasonably priced suites with a full kitchen. We've tried the fancy places and keep coming back to the Best Western where the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and the amenities are just what you need.
My sister and I booked a one bedroom suite for a mid-January weekend in Rutland, VT. A friend had stayed there and recommended it. The Best Western is in a very good location off of Rt 4. Every staff person we came in contact with was professional, helpful, and made us feel welcome. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and spaciousness of our suite. Every thing was attractive and in very good condition. We loved having the extra space as compared to a guestroom. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast one day, but had breakfast out the other morning at the Sugar and Spice Restaurant that is maybe one mile from the hotel further down Rt 4. Great breakfast lunch place. We also went to the Farmers Market downtown on Sat and enjoyed that very much.
The staff was super nice and helpful. We had a suite with one bedroom (2 queen beds) living room, dining area, and kitchenette (with fridge, stove & microwave.) The unit was plenty big for five of us and clean. The free breakfast was great. Hot items changed daily for variety, some items seemed home baked. The make your own waffles was a big hit with the kids. At 8pm every night they served fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and beverages. - Nice touch. My only complaint would be it was a little noisy. The room was a first floor end unit close to the road. You could hear nightime truck traffic and people walking in the unit above. Other than that, this was a great place to stay and good value.
January 2013-My boyfriend and I booked a hotel in Mendon, and upon our arrival, realized it was the last place on earth that we would ever want to spend any time. Our goal was to go to Killington every day. We spent hours on one of our vacation days finding a new hotel to stay. The Best Western was the very last place we decided to look, and we wished we had just visited first. The man who worked at the desk, Ryan (I believe), gave us an amazingly affordable deal, and saved my boyfriend and I from staying in a dirty dingy super low budget hotel. He was so kind a friendly, and when I think of the best hotel experience I have ever encountered, I always think of this hotel. Our room at the best western was unbelievably clean. The sheets were crisp white, and there was not a speck of dust anywhere. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus! This visit was back in January 2013, having just recently made a Tripadvisor account I feel the need to comment on my time here simply because I was so impressed and I think of this hotel often! If I ever visit Killington again, this will 100% be the place that I stay!
This is a very pleasant place to stay. The bonus is that you feel like you are in Vermont the entire time! You are surrounded by beautiful trees with a view of the mountainside. Breakfast is fresh and well stocked too. Convenient to the ski areas and downtown Rutland.
We stayed here over Christmas for 5 days. This hotel is layed out like a cluster of condo buildings without interior corridors but with private entrances. Our suite had an actual kitchen with range, frig, microwave and dishwasher including pots & pans. As well the living/dining room could comfortably seat 4 and had a 42" TV, sliding glass door to patio. Though the bath is large enough for most people, someone with special needs should ask, as this hotel, like most in Vermont, were built before ADA laws were enacted. Free breakfast is included. As the hotel is at the edge of town, you will need to drive to dine. There are two great local breakfast places about a mile away and major fast food chains are along US Rts 7 & 4, the main drag through Rutland plus the many local favorites and finer restaurants in the charming real downtown. This hotel, more than any other chain hotel in the area, has a feeling of space and views of the Vermont scenery. This place is truly a home home away from home.
Many inconveniences: set up in separate buildings, two doors in order to access rooms so accidentally lock;no ice machines in some buildings; bathrooms are small; in order to get two queen beds must get higher priced suite; AC units in-between beds in doubles which would blow on face at night; must leave building, go outside to get coffee, food which is inconvenient if trying to bring some back when nearing cutoff time; second floor has stairs outside requiring noisy and weather-exposed walkup carrying luggage; DEFINITELY NOT ADA APPROVED AS FIRST FLOORS ARE NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT UNDUE ADJUSTMENTS.
The furnishings are alright but this hotel has many less than desirable aspects: 1) Rooms are in separate buildings so coffee and breakfast requires that you walk outside, whatever the weather. 2) To get queen-sized beds must upgrade to a excessively large suite at much higher cost. 3) May have to go to another building if you want ice. 4) Entry into room requires unlocking two doors which are on springs and accidentally close requiring unlocking again. A nuisance if one has multiple suitcases or requires several reentries to room. 5) Not handicapped accessible: no elevator on a two floor building; and a small step to even enter each building for first floor rooms. When I inquired was told they provide a small ramp for wheelchairs. How convenient would that be at 11:00 PM? 6) Double bed rooms much smaller than average. Bathrooms small on both double and queen rooms which was surprising as suites were very large but still tiny bathroom. 7) Double bed rooms had AC placed between beds which would cause blowing on the guests heads during the night, directly. 8) Rooms can be noisy as two door opening and closing as well as steps "outdoors" for any second floor occupants carrying luggage up the stairs would be quite noisy. Having to carry luggage up stairs , outdoors makes this property highly undesirable for anyone over 40 y.o. 9) Hotel did respond well to problems we had in both rooms. When head board fell on my head at night offered me a suite (the only way to get two queen beds) which was way too big and still had tiny bathroom. Then this room the drain in bath was broken and when I was dead tired had to wait for repairman to go to BUY one at Home Depot. The drain should not have been left broken to begin with. 10) Having to walk outside (snow, cold) both to get coffee or breakfast was most inconvenient for tired travelers and to get food and coffee to bring back to room if one is close to end of breakfast.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant we had to travel to VT as my son attends College we drove up for the night, his awards ceremony was not until 3 pm the next day, the hotel was very helpful allowing us to have late checkout so that we could get ready for the ceremony and not have to rush out!
This is a great place to stay, that's quite and convenient to skiing, as well as The Meadows and Gables at East Mountain. Even though part of Best Western chain, has a distinctively personality all its own and a great staff.
Luck was with us when we were at the Best Western because of being upgraded to a larger room (incl. a kitchen). We had plenty of space and our daughter (15) has had her own room to sleep in (what she definitely appreciated). Service at the front desk was friendly. Questions (e.g. for a restaurant to have diner at) were taken care about and the advice was a real good one (Table 24). The rooms were clean and well arranged. Breakfast was good. Tea (various sorts), coffee, three waffle irons (which we used) incl. two different sorts of pastes, cerials ans so on ... We enjoyed our stay even though it was only one night and will come back when we will be in NE next time.
We arrived at the Inn around 9:30 pm. Check in was fast and friendly. The added treat is 24 coffee and tea service. Also, they had large chocolate chip cookies! We had a suite. The living room was spacious and clean. The bedroom linens were clean with ample pillows and a comfortable bed. The kitchen had a microwave, coffee machine and a refridge. The fitness room is extremely small with three pieces of machines..a treadmill, stepper and a bike. If you ride the bike with a cadence greater than 90, the sound is amplified with the TV. When I pointed it out to the manager, her response was she would have maintenance look at it, but then she says that you just need to put it up a level. So, I am assuming they know about the problem and have not addressed it properly. The stepper needs to be looked at also. It makes noise and it takes a while before the display comes on. Breakfast--typical BW breakfast. They had plenty of seating. The eggs and breads/pastries were replenished as needed. Location: Great location. Close to Rutland, Killington, Pico and Woodstock. You could use this as a base for many day trips. Overall, a great value.
Rutland is a good location from which to travel round to see (in our case) the colours of the fall. The Best Western Inn lies only some 10 minutes out of town but is well located to go downtown in the evening for supper or right out onto the roads for our exploration. We had booked via Expedia and on checking in we found that we were allocated a very "compact" (= small) standard room with a small window above the bed - really less than what we expected. We then spoke with the check-in staff who emphasised that because we had not booked direct with Best Western we were unlikely to be able to request an upgrade (we were quite ok to pay an extra rate). The 'Manager' (not available on-site) was unsympathetic and was happy to reject any move to an upgrade. However, the unceasing efforts by "Pamela", on the reception, who was on duty that evening finally managed to get through to Expedia's customer service and eventually manged to secure us permission to upgrade to a Suite (not much extra cost over the standard room). Thank you Pam - you made all the difference to our stay and turning what would have been an unhappy experience into a very pleasurable stay. Our room was very comfortable, spacious, and well equipped with pleasant views out over the tennis courts and gardens. Breakfasts were good with nice hot-food on offer each morning. Overall a very positive and enjoyable experience - but in large part a big thanks to Pamela!!
We have stayed at this hotel several times. The last time was 4 years ago and it was still good. The rate was great, it was clean, and the breakfast was really good. I loved the pumpkin waffles. They had fresh baked cookies and milk at 8 pm each night. People staying there tended to gather each night for cookies and visit. Everyone working there seemed to like their job and those they worked within. I highly recommend it this location!!
Stayed here in October for a wedding at Mountain top Inn. The staff was very accommodating. Brunch was nice, served only until 9.30. Inn offered tea and coffee all day. The gym as small, but the equipment in tip top condition.
My sister and I were in Rutland to visit our very ill father in the hospital and my husband and infant son were with us. It was a last minute trip and very stressful and emotional. We hadn't made a plan for staying over and had all had horrific hotel experiences in bereavement or illness situations before. We checked reviews in the area and saw some (somewhat hysterically) awful reviews for most places. We called the Best Western on recommendation of the Hampton Inn since they were full. Jason at Best Western was able to give us a fabulous queen suit for a really great price. He was kind and efficient and a pleasure to deal with after a harrowing day. We needed to be close to the hospital, and it was. (Another call my sister made to a different establishment yielded no information about how close they were to the hospital despite her asking four times. The next day we saw that it was practically next door). We needed something clean and comfortable, and it was. The breakfast was great but the first morning we just rushed through and grabbed a muffin and coffee. We ended up staying another night and the wonderful woman at the front desk (I am sad I can't remember her name) was able to give us another great room at the same wonderful price. We did enjoy the full breakfast the next morning. The following weekend we returned and Jason gave us another queen suite at a very good price, higher than the first time but it was also a Saturday rather than mid week like our first trip. I have paid more for rooms that were disgusting and unsafe at other places. The Best Western had nice ambiance, friendly and helpful staff, and provided us much needed comfort at a very difficult time. We will be loyal customers as long as other locations are of equal quality and value.
The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly, helpful and informative. If you don't feel like going out for breakfast, you can go to the main building instead. I will definitely stay here again.
We spent one night at this BW on our way between the colors of the east & a wine stop in New York. The location was very nice with separate buildings. It was a laundry night, and the room was conveniently located. The grounds were very attractive with mums & Halloween decorations. The person who checked us in was friendly and made us feel welcome. We appreciated a quality breakfast with choices. The unfortunate thing was this was a high travel time because of the fall colors. The inn was more than our budget generally allows. The stay was definitely pleasant.
I have stayed in the Best Western hotels in the US and in Europe and found them to be high quality and charming. The Best Western in Rutland was chosen sort of at the last minute. We had three people and needed a suite. The price was right; the breakfast was great and the evening chocolate chip cookies were wonderful. Be sure to get them at 7:30PM--not 8PM as it says in the room. The suite was large, well equipped and suitable for a long stay. Rutland had good places to eat and going up the gondola at Killington was the BEST for "leaf peeping."
The town of Rutland, Vermont is nice to visit with many good restaurants. The hotel was convienient to all places of interest. The views in the surrounding area at fall folliage are breathtaking. We were about a 10-15 minute ride from Killington.
Check in was friendly and helpful. Rooms are spread out and can be a bit far from the breakfast area so if you don't like walking, ask for a room closer to the office. Rooms weren't super, but they were adequate and mattresses were comfortable. Breakfast was good but very, very crowded. We opted for the seating upstairs. If the tables are full there is a place on the second floor that will have plenty of seats. We liked this BW.
My wife and I, enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We would highly recommend it. We were travelling the area during the fall foliage show. Serving hot cookies every evening in the lobby is a sure way to get your customers attention. It was not only the cookies, the rest of the stay was flawless.
We have stayed at this hotel and would say it was better than the last time. The appearance and upkeep appeared improved. Staff were helpful and friendly. The location and facilities suited our needs. Breakfasts OK for choice but could do with faster toasters with all elements working. We would stay here again.
Definitely worth staying here! I would stay again. It was clean, the staff was courteous, and the room (a suite) was huge. It was like living in an apartment. Only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower isn't strong enough.
We recently had an extended stay of 2 weeks at Best Western Inn & Suites in Rutland, VT. We have used this facility many times in the past and keep coming back. The accommodation is laid out in 7 separate buildings in a beautiful sylvan setting. The management and staff were warm, welcoming and efficient. If you're planning to stay more than a night or two consider reserving a suite, as we did. They're wonderfully spacious and comfortable and give a real feeling of being in your own condo or apartment. Besides bedroom and bathroom there is a fully equipped kitchen with full size appliances. A large living room opens onto a private deck. Everything worked well including HD televisions in both bedroom and living room. Beds were comfortable and sleeping was easy, restful and noise-free. The in-room free Wi-Fi also worked well. An excellent complimentary buffet breakfast is available in the registration/check-in building. A wide variety of juices, cereals, fruits & yogurt together with a hot buffet is offered. Overall our 2 weeks at Best Western in Rutland were very enjoyable and good value with staff who were most helpful and friendly. We are definitely planning to return again and have no hesitation in recommending it highly. Maura & John Jordan, Cork, Ireland.
We stayed here three nights while attending a wedding. Many people here for leaf peeping with tour buses. Busy time of year in early October. We were promised, in writing, a King suite. However, when we arrived we were given a Queen suite. No big deal, but a bit strange. Also, the room smelled strongly of smoke (cigar or cigarette). Another BIG issue that management should address. The plumbing system is antiquated and dates back to the 1960's or 1970's, most likely. The reason I say this is because if someone is in the unit next door, and does so much as flush the toilet, run the sink, or take a shower WHILE YOU'RE in the shower, you will either be scalded with hot water, or ice cube frozen cold water will shock you. This is dangerous if you have a child taking a shower for example. Perhaps I'm mistaken about this, except that I experienced it firsthand several times during our visit. On the positive side, the suite we had was HUGE, very comfortable (other than the smoke smell) and clean. Also very very quiet at night, just what we prefer. Just a bit outdated and worn. Very nice staff in the a.m. but p.m. staff a little more out of it.
I love the layout of this property! Better yet, the staff seemed far warmer and more friendly than our previous visits. Not sure what changed, but I like it! Feels more like a private home than a hotel. Has individual living pods and a great breakfast in a nice cozy dining room/lobby. Breakfast witress was very accommodating to our 5 year old who is a very picky eater! Thank yoyu!
I had a pleasant stay at this location. Very nice area, and the hotel fit right in. The entry to the rooms were a bit different, but easy access to room, and it was very comfortable. Don't forget to buy a bunch of maple syrup while your there!
Stayed for business. Good for what i was looking for, free continental breakfast in room internet, quality sleep. Overall all you need on business, bathroom, shower, bed and internet, without the frills.
