"Good hotel"
NicoleLL2000, 27 Mars 2024

Our stay here was very good and the rooms were nice and tidy, also the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was abit further away from main attractions though but that meant it was more quiet. Also to make it better it would be lovely to have a bar within the hotel and to be able to go on the rooftop.

"Great experience"
ashleyhawaii2024, 25 Mars 2024

Staff were very helpful and professional and room was comfortable with great amenities. Our favorite part was that they would restock the mini bar with juices and water every day while we were out exploring the city.

"4 days and a lot of walking "
Joanne R, 08 Mars 2024

Enjoyed a stay immensly, thanks to fabulous staff, always happy to advise how best to get to wherever we were going to. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Navigation around Rome easy via foot and public transport. There are several lovely places to eat nearby.

"Best western hotel astrid"
DonnieJones200, 05 Mars 2024

Staff were professional and helpful, room was kept in perfect condition, free mini bar which was so helpful. Great location surrounded with nice coffee shops and bus routes for easy commute to attractions

"Comfortable stay"
clare696, 28 Février 2024

Our room was lovely and clean. The bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. Staff helpful and friendly. Good location quick hop on the tram or bus to save your legs after a long day of exploring Rome.

"Moldy Shower"
wout779, 12 Février 2024

The shower cabin door and walls had black mold on them. We wrote a small note to the cleaning staff. After the second day and the second note, they left a note responding that they were only with 2 persons to clean. The only thing we asked was to clean out the shower. With the right products and tools, this shouldnt take long and would make a world of a difference. The bed was as hard as can be. The metal springs were noticable through the matress.

"Decent one night stay "
Murciadonna, 05 Février 2024

Well placed hotel for attending the rugby. Short walk to the stadium. Decent continental breakfast on offer. Rooms rather small but clean. Shower cubicle very small to get in and out of. You would struggle with this if you were on the large side. Lots of decent eateries on your doorstep

"Bad experience with breakfast staff"
Philtan16, 26 Décembre 2023

Disappointing experience at Best Western Astrid. As a Diamond Select member, the unprofessional behavior of staff member name Liezel made me feel unwelcome during breakfast, treating me unequally. Despite prior warnings from other staff, Liezel's behavior did not improve. Regrettably, I won't be using the breakfast service for the rest of my stay. Hoping for swift resolution to maintain the hotel's high standards.

"Hidden gem in Roma"
pasquinrichard, 29 Septembre 2023

In a beautiful part of Roma where you see Italians and nothing else no scammers etc. with great affordable restaurants serving Italians from the neighborhood . Returning to Rome in a month, this is our hotel.

"Brill Hotel"
ashleight516, 01 Septembre 2023

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights with my partner, ideal location a nice walk from the centre (25 mins) clean rooms and large enough with free minibar, free safe and nice bathroom however view isn't much if your overlooking the interior patio. Really nice restraunts only a minutes walk away. Lovely staff, all very helpful ordering taxis and giving advise etc. Loved the breakfast room and sat on the balcony one day and both ladies very friendly. Theres a carrefour besides the hotel if you forget anything. Quite a safe area to walk round in the evening and we never had an issue with staying in the hotel . Will definitely return if we visit Rome again

"Good"
Jet01407910221, 24 Août 2023

This hotel is perfect for a site seeing trip. The hotel itself isn't absolutely amazing, but it has everything you need to have somewhere to stay and travel in and out of the city. There is a train stop very close by and there's a shop right next door which is really handy. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are quite small and so is the shower, but it was fine for our 4 day stay. I wouldn't stay here longer than that just because of the size of the room. So overall, it's a good place to stay if you need to stay somewhere affordable to travel in and out of the city.

"Not great"
Samanta G, 13 Août 2023

The hotel wasn't the best. The pillows itself were all different sizes and not fluffy at all, had to ask for some extra ones which were a bit better. The bed was extra hard and really uncomfortable. One day we didn't have any hot water for a shower because they were doing some work of which they have failed to inform us. Hotel is really far from the main attractions and the taxis are about €12-15 each way. Not worth it. They also fail to inform you that they come into the room to clean it with no notice. So be prepared if u like to lay in or get back in the afternoon for a shower etc. The only good thing about it was the air con and the mini fridge. I would suggest paying more and staying in city centre.

"Do not deserve this price."
Batglu, 02 Juin 2023

Very old hotel, partially renovated but really tired looking. Rooms are dirty, full of modquitos and other bugs. There is a safe in the room which is not working. There is only 1 hanger in the wardrobe. Breakfast is very simple. No room service. Overall super overpriced for what they offer.

"Very dirty hotel"
gdicarl0, 25 Mai 2023

The hotel was very dirty and the personal was unfriendly. Rooms was with a dirty walls and the bathroom was with mild. Elevator just for 2 person and terrible service. Not recommended for nothing. I need to move to another hotel

"Great location and breakfast!!"
audreyireland2023, 16 Mai 2023

Was in Rome for the Italian Tennis Open. Stayed at the Best Western Hotel Astrid. It was a great location - near the tennis and city centre for sightseeing etc. The two ladies running the breakfast room on the 5th floor were wonderfully efficient and helpful. Would highly recommend having breakfast there!

"No Air conditioning or fan and the safe was non-functional"
marcmargolis, 12 Mai 2023

The hotel is in a nice location, clean, with a beautiful breakfast area. However, the air conditioning not being available, the non-functional safe left me uneasy due to the crime rates in Rome. For breakfast you can sit on a private two person balcony and take pictures with the Vatican in the background!

"Best Western Astrid, the rooms we were cosy(small) but clean and comfortable with everything we required. No issues."
Stephen D, 10 Mai 2023

We felt the hotel added to our experience of Rome. It was within walking distance of all the main attractions….30-45 minutes. This allowed us to experience side streets and different areas along each route. We only had to use taxis at night on the way back to the hotel and going to the airport.

"Excellent Hotel"
gary h, 09 Février 2023

Beautiful Hotel in a nice part of the city.Art Deco interior with a beautiful view of Rom in the breakfast room on the top floor.I would happy to stay again, and there's a really good wine bar within walking distance.

"Good for business trip"
ismailY6406PR, 03 Décembre 2022

Good for business trip and quick one I had a room with balcony shared with the room next to me. The mattress is quite old but ok i had to sleep in the better side of it good service to the room and cleanliness is great

"Excellent"
Loizos P, 03 Décembre 2022

The front desk was very fast both at check in and out. Room was clean. The breakfats was not an american one but yet it covers all needs. The hotel is located near all the attractions. Thebreakfast room has an amazing view.

"A very nice stay at Hotel Astrid"
ANNA P, 25 Novembre 2022

I had a great stay at Hotel Astrid for 3 days. The hotel itself is elegant with a marble foyer and staircase. My room was very clean with a beautifully fitted out compact bathroom. Toiletries were replenished everyday plus the tea and coffee sachets. The bed had a good mattress and I slept well, no surroundings noise or loud bars. The breakfast was copious with a good selection of sweet and savoury choices- as much as you want. Lovely croissants! The breakfast room overlooks the Tiber and is light and airy. As my plane arrived late, I emailed the reception team in advance requesting a taxi pickup at Fiumicino. This was done efficiently and courteously. All staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is well connected with buses; within 5 mins walk, the circular no.2 goes regularly to the Flaminio metro station (10 mins approx) from where the centre is easily accessible eg. 10 mins to the Vatican stop. As a single female traveller I felt safe walking from the bus stop after dark. Flaminia is a pleasant neighbourhood with good amenities. I would stay here again, it was a fair price with breakfast included - grazie a tutti!

"Charming hotel"
SanderMathisen, 15 Novembre 2022

Had a great stay in rome for 3 days, bed was okay and the room was charming and clean enough. Breakfast was ok. Room is a little worn and could need some renovation soon (especially the bathroom). Aircondition didnt work but we didnt ask for any help as we just opened the window. + Free minibar is Nice - Did not appreciate the mould in the bathroom though.

"City Break"
Tomasz R, 14 Novembre 2022

Generally good hotel with specious room also great 55 inch Samsung Tv,very clean thanks to smiling cleaners. Receptionist very helpful and polite. Breakfast same story every morning with busy but miserable ladies. Location good with walking distance to E Stadio Olimpico and 35-40 minutes to other attractions.

"Great staff and great rooms!"
Mike D, 04 Octobre 2022

Fantastic hotel! We were greeted by an incredibly helpful and friendly gentleman at check in. The inside is really clean and beautiful. The rooms are spacious and super clean. While it's a bit outside the downtown area a bus ride or two for $1.50 is easy to navigate. There are great restaurants within walking distance. Every staff we met were incredibly friendly.

"Basic hotel in a good location"
sbF666QY, 03 Octobre 2022

-The air conditioning wasn't working in the room. This was the case with the rooms of many others in our entourage. Those who were the first ones to complain about the dead aircon could get replacement rooms on level 3, very close to some kind of party hall where the Aircon was working. Many others had to make do with keeping the windows open. The sound of street traffic in the mornings can wake you up. One suspects that keeping the aircons off is a common occurrence now due to the hike in energy costs Europe wide. They didn't tell us that, but it's an educated guess. There's a mini super market below the hotel which is quite handy which may have better options for breakfast meals that what the hotel may provide. Trams are a minute aw There is a 4 Euro per day city tourist tax which is payable at checkout.

"Very bad experience"
Stevessssssss, 09 Septembre 2022

Very bad experience a 4 day stay for an international sports competition which was meant to be quite good. A reservation for a room of superior quality. On arrival the air-conditioning was knocked out (room temperature 30°). A change in a room of less good quality only after 3 days. A commercial gesture announced reimbursement of breakfast and taxes. In fine at check out the only non payment of taxes (4€ per day). A receptionist with inappropriate and threatening behaviour. Waouuuuuu welcome in hotel Astrid A hotel to avoid unfortunately to be avoided

"Pre cruise"
BelfastBilly, 05 Juin 2022

I stayed 2 nights 22nd to 24th MAY. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The reception staff are helpful and courteous. The room on the 2nd floor is small Convenient shops, bar and a delicious family run restaurant nearby.

"The service was very good, the room was clean and everything in order. The breakfast was good and the service excellent."
Flyfishrobert, 02 Juin 2022

The service was very good and the room was clean and everything in order. And the breakfast was very good and the service was very good. So overall we enjoyed our stay and we want to thank the staff for their hospitality!

"Excelente"
jeimmyv71, 02 Juin 2022

The hotel room was clean the bathroom was also very clean the area where the hotel is located is really close to the city center. We found parking very easily and the people at the front desk were nice.

"Great location, good value for money, high cleaning standards"
Bea F, 22 Mai 2022

The hotel is very central, the perfect spot to visit the city centre by walking. My room was extremely clean, I enjoyed having a terrace where to chill in the evening. Breakfast was abundant and you could choose between a great variety of food. The staff was helpful and discrete, never had a problem with anything. I would definitely come back!

"Avoid"
MiguelS4779, 20 Mai 2022

Just got back from a one week stay at this property. Picked this place as it was the closest to Foro Itlalico for a major sporting event we were attending. Ended up paying over 200 euros a night , just for the location. Normal rates at this property are between 100 to 120 euros a night so basically ended up paying double just for the location proximity to the sporting venue. Have traveled a fair bit all over Europe and know fully well pricing is higher, rooms smaller and service levels different than what we in North America, but this property is sub par and would say this is the worst hotel experience in Europe in all my years of traveling. Front staff-all middle aged men. The worst is Giuseppe who works the day shift. This guy is rude and has a very unpleasant disposition and zero customer srvice skills. Unsure if he has any hospitality training but needs to get trained. Rooms - pictures on their site are misleading. Rooms are incredibly small by European standards, We had a twin room, you could take 6 steps and be from one wall to another. No place for clothes a few hangers to hang items. With 2 large suitcases, virtually no room to move around the room. Shower-if you are slightly larger than average build or claustrophobic the shower is a joke. The shower is 2 feet wide.Once in you cant move around . AC-was 28 degrees every day we were there. We were told to open the window, as get this , they dont run their AC till June some time.Problem is when you open the window, bugs get in which bite, Either that or fry in the closet room with the windows closed. Suffice it to sat we got bit a lot. Noise-paper thin walls and in the bathroom you can hear clearly conversations in the next room. Breakfast-was served on the 5th floor was Ok. Have stayed in a lot of Best Westerns and am a member of their highest membership class.Unsure how this property was approved to fly the Best Western flag as it is no where near any other Best western I have stayed at. Will return to Rome but not to this property. For what i paid there are many other options.Would definitely not recommend this place.

"great location"
Ianthewurst, 24 Avril 2022

Great location just outside ancient city but easily walkable - some authentic local restaurants and a great bar nearby - Treebar in the local park is very on trend with locals. Can walk along the river

"Excellent Hotel"
kimber2409, 22 Avril 2022

Really enjoyed our stay, staff was very professional and friendly. Checking in and out was very easy. Great location, close to Bus line and Metro. Price was really nice, staying any closer to the City Center would be more expensive. Will stay again.

"Sunny Rome"
940michaelac, 30 Mars 2022

Good quite location, clean small room, normal bathroom. Many nice bars and restarants near by. Grocery around the corner. Nice reception, oldschool lift nice interesting building big TV-not neccesary for us

"Central, comfortable, well appointed; hot too!"

"Good hotel, and location"
emmaj3421, 14 Mars 2022

Check in was easy, we were there an hour before check in but we're allocated a room quickly and hassle free. The room was a good size and had everything we needed. Had a lovely Juliet balcony which was a nice added bonus. The bathroom had everything that you would need, with complementary toiletries. The shower cubical was fairly small but It wasn't an issue for us. The hotel were able to support us in having a travel plug which we forgot to bring free of charge. All in all a lovely stay.

"good deal for Rome considering that it's only a 3star hotel"
Inspire43285898193, 10 Mars 2022

Large room , clean but simple , minimally furnished.very small bathroom. Water kettle and coffee in the room. Good beds , air conditioning and heating system functional . Old nice building …. Pretty far away by foot from the center . Essential breakfast

"Super nice and helpful with everything!"
Charlotte261183, 04 Octobre 2021

The hotel helped us immensely beforehand while planning our business trip and while we were staying in Rome everyone from the hotel was super nice, supportive and helping with everything we requested and/or needed.

"Andrea is the best!!"
Ashamee, 27 Août 2021

Our stay at Best Western Hotel Astrid was great especially because of Andrea. He was so accommodating with every request and had a solution to every problem. His English was fantastic which made it much easier for us too.

"Very good and price worthy"
fridah709, 14 Août 2020

Clean rooms, accessible , always good service from staff whenever needed. Nice touch with free minibar. Good air conditioner, one quite side and the other a little noisier, but sunnier. If problem sleeping I would ask for room not by the streets.

"Good value for money"
claudiod776, 26 Juillet 2020

The hotel is for me conveniently located and the building is in pretty good condition. The Hall is pretty small and despite a couple of sofas there's not enough room for the people to waitor to relax. The room was pretty smalll but more than enough for one night. The rate was very low possibly because of the period

"EXCELLENT!"
G9448DJgabrielag, 28 Avril 2020

Is a hotel that shows the charm of Rome. exceptional staff, good breakfast, rooms even if relatively small are clean and cleaning is daily.I was accommodated even if I arrived earlier, I paid on departure and I also had the room changed with a superior one to the one I had booked, at no other cost

"Not the Best Western"
GCW56, 22 Mars 2020

If I had written this right after our stay, I'd have said Worst Western as it certainly wasn't up to scratch. Let's start with location. Near the historic centre it definitely is not. We either took tram and metro, or walked and got the bus. Once in town, we stayed in as it certainly isn't a place you can nip back to. A stone's throw from the Piazza de Popolo? I don't know many who can throw a stone a mile. Take the tram. The area is just a suburb off Rome. Nothing interesting. I do recommend the nearby Casa des Gusto restaurant nearby though. The rooms. Well, ours looked nice but was noisy as they do not have double doors, or carpets in the corridor so you can hear clearly when you get noisy people arriving back at all times of the night. The real fun was the shower which was broken, and had obviously been so for some time. I made the point in the morning, but in the evening g found nothing had been done and nothing noted. The lovely lady at the desk did manage to find another room, but one in severe need of redoing and with twin beds rather than the double. The shower worked, but the cubicle was tiny. Certainly a poor two star. During our stay, they obviously did not want to bring in a plumber. Breakfast room has nice views and the staff were lovely. The actual breakfast is standard industrial produce with uninteresting bread. Reception. The evening lady was lovely and very helpful. In the day they appeared disinterested and do not like criticism. We were promised a discount and just had the city taxes written off, and they were reluctant about that. Return? Never. The hassle really mucked up my birthday weekend in Rome.

"Excellent. Close to amenities."
donnya t, 27 Février 2020

Enjoyed our weeks visit to Rome at this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was good and kept clean daily. Dining room and breakfast very good. There was nothing that was too much trouble for the staff and the hotel is near to trams, metro and eating facilities. I would recommend this hotel everytime.

"Great stay"
tam_mullen, 25 Février 2020

The hotel was very good and it wasn't far from all the attractions. Will be back in 2 years and hope to get rooms in the Best Western Hotel Astrid. The staff were pleasant and very helpful when asking for tourist information.

"What is there not to like for EUR54 in ROME???"
YasmineinSydney, 20 Janvier 2020

I stayed 2 nights 26-28 Dec 2019 in Room 106 with small window/balcony - prepaid EUR108 R/O. Absolutely fantastic value for Rome and I have been to Rome now 8 times and stayed in many places. This time I was attending 2 concerts at Parco della Musica and I wanted to be in walking distance from the venue - 800m/15 mins walk. I could not believe I could get such a great room in Rome for this price. The room is fully renovated and the rooftop breakfast area is just gorgeous. I could sit there all day looking at the Tiber and the district views. Coffee/tea making facilities in the room and capp machine available all hours in the breakfast area. I loved being able to walk up to Ponte Milvio area - perhaps 25 mins - a well-known dining precinct for locals. It was great being away from the tourist throng and still being able to walk to the Vatican in half hour. You can easily take the tram to Flaminio/Piazza Popolo and from there, metro/train wherever . All very easy if you are a confident traveller. I loved it and would definitely stay again. Lovely staff at Reception. Loved all of it and was almost sorry to be going to Spain next. Disliked - nothing - what is there not to like for EUR54 in Rome!! I wondered what the catch was ??? No catch. Just a little bit out of the centre.

"Molto bello"
Departure20510147179, 14 Janvier 2020

super city in a very comfortable hotel well positioned. The hotel is very clean and the staff is really very attentive and friendly. It's worth a trip to Rome. I personally have been there about 20 times and find something nice to see every time.

"Really good stay!!!"
liezl_camille, 08 Janvier 2020

We booked 2 rooms and both are so nice! One of the rooms had a really good view of the city, rooms were really clean and comfy. Breakfast was excellent, the dining area had a nice view of the city and the food was really good + you can get coffee anytime! A+! Definitely made our trip better with staying here.

"Great location to catch a match and take in Roma"
90jacquelynf, 10 Décembre 2019

For me, this room was perfect. It was clean and comfortable. I was only in Rome for a brief stay after being in Campobasso for business. I had tickets to a football match in stadio olimpico and could walk from the hotel. I love walking and it was a lovely walk along the Tiber River to the heart of Rome (2 miles or so to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps and 3 miles to the colosseum). If you are not as much into walking, it was also close to the free public tram and the metro is accessible...and the front desk will always help you to schedule a taxi if needed. I have a pretty restricted diet, so it was also very convenient that the hotel shares a building with a grocery store.

"Pretty good hotel"
gordanap631, 07 Décembre 2019

This hotel was pretty good, with clean and comfortable room, in the bathroom every day is changed towels, breakfasts is good, but would be more vegetables and fruits. Breakfast room on the fifth floor has nice view of the City and St.Peter's cathedral. Hotel has good location, polite and helpful staff.

"Nice Hotel."
Gerry3858, 10 Novembre 2019

Pleasant Hotel with welcoming staff. Room appeared to be a disabled room (Room 202). Shower water wasn't that hot and there was a strong smell of pee emanating from the shower/toilet. The free water and crisps was a really nice touch.

"Nice hotel"
AarnoL, 08 Novembre 2019

Clean room. Polite and friendly customer service. They helped every time when I needed help. The shower tray did not remove the water. Breakfast was enough for me but there was no warm food. The computer for customer use (f.ex. to print boarding pass) functioned so slow I could not use it.

"Remarkable Staff"
calabriait, 30 Octobre 2019

The hotel was lovely, the location excellent, the rooms spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts sumptuous with the most beautiful view of the City and St. Peter's , but the most remarkable aspect of Hotel Astrid is its staff, helpful and friendly, eager to make our stay memorable. They gave explicit directions on transportation, sites, and the best places to eat in the neighborhood. The Cafe del Gusto was superb. So glad we stayed at this wonderful hotel. One of our party had to arrange a tele-conference with a university in South Africa. The staff helped set it up; even the director of the hotel (young, energetic, and handsome!) had a hand in making sure all went well. At one point, we were trying to take a train to Orvieto but did not have one passport. We called the hotel, and the staff obligingly furnished the passport number.

"Very good for Stadio Olimpico"
fabiomoon1, 27 Octobre 2019

Great location for stadio Olimpico. Nice room, clean throughout, great breakfast on roof top terrace, kind and professional staff. Only downside: slow WiFi in the room, and only 1 lift for the whole building which made the wait too long at times

"Great hotel and neighborhood: Recommended for Vatican visit"
Christopher J, 20 Octobre 2019

Hotel Astrid is on the Tiber and north of historical Rome. It is right on the tram, which wasn't as full as the buses. Although it takes one transfer, the tram stops right at the Vatican between St Peters and museum entrance. Takes a lot of stress out of getting around especially if the Vatican is your prime destination. The hotel's neighborhood has some great restaurants, and we found a laundromat around the block (White Cloud) that did our laundry by the kilo. Picked up our clean folded clothes the next day and never missed a beat. Our room was also larger than average compared to other places we stayed in Italy, so that was nice too.

"Prime Hotel for using public transportation"
Jaimehanlon123, 18 Octobre 2019

This hotel was a great find and I'm so glad I stayed here. There is a tram stop called Flaminia/Fracassini, it's a 2 minute walk down the street from the hotel. It takes you 4 stops down to the end of the line which is called Flaminio, that stop is across the street from Piazza del Popolo(it's a 20 minute walk if you wanted to do that) or you can take the metro to get to any place located in the city. The hotel is considered outside the lines of the fixed taxi rate but I was able to get a car to take to the airport when I left the hotel for around 50 euros. If you're looking to take a taxi to any hotel DO NOT GET A RIDE FROM MEN IN SUITS WHO ARE CALLING THEMSELVES "taxi's"!!! This is not a scam but a private service that is authorized with the airport but they over charge you(I got suckered in because they called themselves taxis and had to pay 200 euro for the ride). There is a restaurant called Ristorante Pizzeria Popolo Caffè which had an amazing carbonara pasta. I was told Treebar located near by is more of a cocktail bar, not really a place if you're looking for good food. I had a single room which was small compared to what we have in the USA so keep in mind how much space you want or need. I had enough room to move around and put my luggage, the bed was a twin size bed. It was cool enough outside for me to open the window at night to bring in some fresh air. I would not recommend keeping the window open all night as you'd hear everything going on outside. The elevator worked just find for me. The view in the breakfast room had a beautiful view and the food looked delicious but I did not eat any of it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel out of convenience of access to transportation and I would stay here again for sure!!

"Gem in northwest tome"
Della M, 09 Octobre 2019

Located in nw Rome with a fabulous view of St. Peter's from its 5th floor breakfast room. This hotel met all of our expectation. Rooms small but fab staff young and helped us access buses and trams adjacent to the hotel near lots of good Italian restaurants

"Excellent comfort , value and convenience"
John R, 07 Octobre 2019

Nothing to fault at all. All staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent and great value. Balcony seating for breakfast, .. so sunny with great views. Room was well equipped , very clean, quiet and comfortable. Location is very good giving easy, quick and low cost access to central Rome and to the Vatican City area. Will happily stay again.

"Weekend away"
cailaur, 28 Septembre 2019

Can't complain about the hotel, got a good deal bed and breakfast, the breakfast room is great, staff all friendly, the rooms are basic and quite small, but we only use hotels for a base It's an easy 15 min walk into the piazza del poppolo I would recommend this hotel and would happily book it again

"Not recommended "
marleneg931, 26 Septembre 2019

Our travel agent booked us into this hotel. Beds and pillows were hard as a rock and we were unable to control our room Temperature, had to go to front desk each time to ask. The best things about it are the breakfast and location.

"Room served its purpose but service was lacking"
ericancz, 26 Septembre 2019

The room and hotel generally were fine. Not the best location for sightseeing. But I was very disappointed in their service before and upon our arrival. Apparently, the day of our arrival was the day of a big marathon in the city. Unbeknownst to us until we got in the taxi, this marathon made it impossible for any taxi or uber in the area to get us to the hotel. It would have been nice to know this in advance (as I'm sure they were aware of the marathon). Our taxi driver had to drop us off "near" the hotel which ended up being a 1 km walk in the pouring rain with all of our luggage/bags. We finally get to the hotel and experience a slow check-in process and no remorse for the inconvenience of not even being informed that we would have to walk with all of our luggage. Yet, they were aware when I brought it up and simply said "Yes, it has been causing a lot of problems for our guests today."

"Clean - small and empty"
blackpig, 20 Septembre 2019

Very quiet - not really a hotel more of a hall of rooms. Foyer was small - breakfast room was small - nice views - bit too many sweet pastries and not much savoury - Room was clean - shower small - and I did try and turn the heating up but it didn't seem to work. Tv doesn't have any Uk English channels - WiFi was poor. Happy for one night -

"Quiet hotel with excellent public transportation"
roger622019, 30 Août 2019

We had very good sleep in the hotel since traveling in Italy. We never experienced any noise from air conditioner. The hotel is also close to Tram 2, so convenient to changing to subway A line or buses to see Rome's history. Good breakfast and good service. We were so happy to stay in the hotel.

"Perfect for us.."
mattc324, 29 Août 2019

Just outside the main expensive areas made this hotel a bit cheaper only needing a pleasant short walk to the historic centre or the tram was perfectly situated next to the hotel if you're feeling lazy (or feeling the August heat!!) which took you directly to the beautiful People's Plaza and the rest of the breathtaking city that is Rome. The hotel is also a short walk from the Olympic Stadium where we took in the amazing atmosphere watching AC Roma ⚽️ Great value breakfast with view made this a great stay... Thank you to the helpful staff

"Small and comfortable"
Twoscompany66, 18 Juillet 2019

A great hotel in an excellent location, without being in the heat and noise of the city. We were in a small double room which was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, however it was two single mattresses in a large base. ideally it should have had a mattress topper to avoid the gap in the middle of the bed! There was enough handing space for clothes, but no drawers or other storage. The room has a small fridge stocked each day with complimentary soft drinks and snacks. The windows could be opened and there was adequate air conditioning. The breakfast room was self-service and located on our floor (five), where there was also two PCs and a printer for the use of guests. Check-in was straightforward and efficient. The staff were professional and friendly. The hotel does not serve any other meals except breakfast, but there are several very good restaurants within 5 to 10 walk away. We found Ristorante Casa del Gusto excellent. Just around the corner from the main hotel entrance there is a very well stocked Carrefour supermarket. Located 5 minutes walk from the Flaminio stop on Tram Line 2, which is just three tram stops to Piazza del Popolo and the Metro red line A. This gets you to all the major landmarks and Rome Termini (then onto Fiumicino Airport €28 return on dedicated direct service). A 24/48/72hr pass for public transport is excellent value (purchased at the Metro station) and I would recommend it. The hotel is only one tram stop from Parco della Musica where we attended a great outdoor concert.

"Great for a Honeymoon!"
Steverin065, 15 Juillet 2019

We spent one week at the Hotel Astrid in late April & early May 2019. The hotel staff was out of this world in wanting to help you. The room was very nice and met our needs. The only item was the air conditioning did not work in our room but we were able to open the courtyard door and get plenty of cool air at this time of year. The staff directed us to wonderful restaurants and cafes that were withing a couple blocks of the hotel. If we go back to Rome, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Astrid.

"First Time in Roma"
vickibtravels1964, 13 Juillet 2019

The room was nicely set up for the 3 of us. Room was really clean. Shower a bit small, but nice. Nice touch that there was a mini fridge stocked with free items, i.e. water bottles, sodas, snacks. It was only a mile walk to t City Center which made it a great location for us. The room could have been a little cooler, but it was also unseasonably hot. Slept pretty good on the beds. The 5 euro per person breakfast was definitely worth the cost, and a beautiful view from the 5th floor. I would definitely stay at this location again. Also, literally feet around the corner is a 24 hour market, which was nice as well.

"looks nice but had some problems"
Debi R, 22 Juin 2019

hotel was nice and close to transportation, but air conditioner and tv were both broken our first night. it was repaired the second day, but tv not working. Staff was very nice and helped us with directions

"Poor Service and Hotel"
E8536GOstevenk, 16 Juin 2019

We booked a comfort queen room!! There was nothing comfortable in the room. The bed was horrible it felt like we were sleeping on the floor. The pillows were no better. The A.C. could not keep the room cold. The square shower was miserable if you weigh over 200lbs you will have issues getting into the shower. All of the staff except for the 2 ladies in the breakfast area were rude and wouldnt give you the time to day!! It felt like we were a just an inconvenience to the staff. Knowing how Best Westerns are in the U.S. I had very low expectations for this visit however, I was still disappointed. There was one good thing, the free mini bar!! The negative reviews you read on Trip Advisor are accurate!!! If you are looking for a nice hotel this is not it!!

"2019 No Air Conditioning in Entire Hotel"
Virginia P, 16 Juin 2019

Wooo! It was unseasonably hot and humid for May in Rome...we thought it was no problem because we'd booked a Best Western. I have health issues that require an air conditioned room or I get very sick. When we checked in, no one let on the the AC was out for the entire building. We called the front desk immediately when we came into our hot room, and were told it would be fixed right away. Every day of our 7 day stay, we were told it would be fixed right away. When we checked out, we were told the AC for the whole building was going to be replaced and they didn't know when the work would start. The receptionist told us corporate would contact us to give us a discount to compensate for our discomfort...and yes, I was very sick the entire 7 days we stayed there. We got an email from Corporate offering us a €20 discount on our next stay at Astrid! Yes, €20 coupon for our 7 day stay! What a slap in the face! We responded to corporate about their offensive offer, and they blamed the reception desk for miscommunication; an out right lie. They then offered us a €200 coupon (still a ridiculous offer) for our next stay at Astrid...as if we would ever stay there again. I gave them 2 stars because the hotel is very cute, the king bed is comfortable, and the staff is great. This summer is very hot and humid. If you want air conditioning, cancel your reservations here immediately.

"A good experience"
doublemixte, 09 Juin 2019

Good , well kept hotel situated in a pleasant area and not far from the madding crowd! Friendly staff prepared to help you whenever needed. If you want to sleep with opened windows, choose rooms overlooking the patio. Breakfast on the rooftop provides a nice view and is ok. Fresh juice would be appreciated. Close to the hotel, one can find good places to eat and the ice cream parlour around the corner saw us many times... Thank you to make our tennis stay enjoyable, see you next year!!

"Horrible!!!!"
Big-Daddy-Backpack, 02 Juin 2019

Horrible don't stay here!!!! They checked us in and we found out very soon that the A/C was not working. When we told the front desk staff. They told us that our room's A/C was broken. When we asked for another room, they said they were full for the weekend but we could try to switch rooms on Monday. On Monday they said the A/C was out in the entire hotel but they would have a repairman our to fix it on Tuesday. They lied to us and behaved in a dishonest manner. The creme de la creme came when we asked for a discount due to the lack of A/C, they emailed me an offer of 20€ discount on our next stay with them.

"Nice Place"
Daniel_Lester, 26 Mai 2019

The hotel is in a nice location and is somewhat convenient to the tourist area of Rome. There is a supermarket, pizzeria, pharmacy and a tram stop within a short walk from the hotel. The area can be noisy as there are also several bars close by as well and is situated on a busy intersection. The noise would not have been a problem for us however the A/C in our room was not working well and we had to have the windows open most of the time. The staff was helpful and we were moved to another room after the first night due to the A/C issue however the A/C in the second room was also inadequate during the day. Since we were not in the room much during the day we made due. Overall, the Hotel was comfortable and safe and I would recommend to anyone wanting affordable accommodations in the Rome area.

"Nice surprise"
PaoloEgomet, 25 Mai 2019

Nice building, totally restored inside and very nice, very clean. Even if with good soundproof brand new windows, if you are on a low floor, street facing room you hear the noises of ambulances or full throttle motorcycles (no way to avoid it). Being not a huge huge property also the breakfast room and its selection is not huge, could appear a bit "limited". Very friendly staff.

"Pleasant stay."
ManU_Sue, 19 Mai 2019

The hotel was very clean, the buffet breakfast good and the room a good size (we opted for a superior room). The reception staff were helpful and always available when required. The room, 103, faced the internal courtyard which gave a rather uninteresting view of the fire escape but was very quiet: no street noise. Because the window was a French door which led to this courtyard it seemed unwise to leave it open overnight, which I would have liked as the climate control seemed not to work, making the room a little warm. The shower was hot and powerful, but was a rainfall type, which I personally dislike (I prefer a standard power shower with a variable height adjustment). There were tea making facilities, a fridge/mini bar and a safe. It was a 20 minute walk to the Foro Italico and a little further to the Stadio Olimpico. Taxis to the centre of Rome were readily available.

"3 star hotel that should be 4"
Dyraan, 08 Mai 2019

The location is ideal for site seeing and within walking distance of most of Rome's best sights. The staff went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed. Mini fridge was free and restocked every morning with Food and drink. Huge choice of breakfast and Coffee options. Shuttle service to and from Airport in very posh Mercedes(you have to pay extra and request this). Cannot fault the Hotel and im a very picky person. The headboard in my Room needed to be updated as it was pealing in some areas due to wear and tear.

"Great hotel"
Carrie M, 23 Avril 2019

Having come from a terrible hotel in Naples, we were delighted when we arrived here. The hotel was clean, and the room was comfortable. The bathroom was a bit tired and could do with some updating but we could have a hot shower which was the main thing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great links for public transport, with a tram stop at the bottom of the road. We brought a 48 pass and thoroughly got the use for it. Internet was good and breakfast was absolutely amazing for only 5 euros each, and had a fantastic view! Would thoroughly recommend.

"Above average for sure."
Suzzie377, 19 Avril 2019

Nothing was disappointing about this hotel. Rooms were clean, staff nice, a nearby supermarket that had everything and cheap and good shower but most important it was great for our budget. I think it is a perfect hotel for visiting Rome.

"Staff was super helpful. Caught the tram and 2 stops later we were within walking distance of all the sights."
B_McCormick03, 13 Avril 2019

There is a grocery store around the corner for anything you may need. We got large bottles of water before heading out to sightsee, cheaper that way. Also a pharmacy, they are super helpful. A/C is only run certain times of the year which I didn't realize, but the window allowed for a cool room. Overall pleased. Staff was great and were able to provide us with a map and alot of helpful info. Several restaurants in the area. I would go back again.

"Generally not happy with the visit"
ILS100, 01 Avril 2019

I am writing this, in the hope the hotel takes this as a feedback for improvement. We stayed (a couple 35-45) for 3 nights during end of March (best weather for Rome BTW). First the good: Location near direct Tram to center; Breakfast with a nice view; Room generally seems clean; free minibar was very nice. Must improve: 1) Internet! it is really unacceptable for 2019 to have speed of previous millenium (less that 0.5Mbps); this really was annoying for anything you need either work or VoIP calls etc.) 2) Noisey corridors. Very. people outside easily will wake anybody up, and also noise from the main street (cars). 3) No hot water in shower! It was warm at best, almost never hot.

"Hotel Stay at Beginning and End of our Europe Trip"
rzatki13, 23 Mars 2019

I will start out by saying the only reason this hotel did not get 5 stars is because of the 4 nights we stayed here, 2 mornings had cold showers. We stayed at the hotel for the 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and the 2 nights at the end of our trip. The location of the hotel is just north of the downtown area about one long block from the tram and about 1/2 mile from the closest metro stop, Flaminio. For us the combination of location close to public transport and price made this an easy choice. During the first 2 nights we stayed in a 3 person room on the 3rd floor (our son who is studying in Rome stayed with us) in the older part of the hotel. We were able to check in early. The room was nice and clean and had a complimentary fridge stocked with a few things like waters and juice. During the second stay we stayed in a 2 person room on the 1st floor (our son was back on campus) in the newer part of the hotel. The room was very modern, nice, and clean with same complimentary fridge and a towel warmer. The staff were very warm and friendly with good recommendations for restaurants, getting us a taxi, and helping us with navigating the city. A delicious breakfast is offered (extra cost) on the fifth floor with a loverly view of the city. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants, a great grocery store and a great pharmacy, and a delicious gelato shop. One additional note, because this hotel is outside Rome's Aurelian Walls, the 48euros fixed taxi fee from the airport does not apply. We paid about 60euros to get to and from the airport.

"Very satisfied"
vlad-haralambie, 19 Mars 2019

Room was very clean, with all the necessary equipment. towels have been changed every day on demand without extra cost. A decent wardrobe was missing. Very good breakfast. Definitly I shall come back with another occasion. Highly recomended!

"Good stay"
Girts L, 11 Mars 2019

Everything was fine, clean nice rooms, refurbished. We were there with a small kid 11 mo. Room was very hot all the time, cannot make adjust the right temperature, only opening window help, but it is not recommended much when small kid is around. Staff was friendly, breakfast was decent.

"Christmas trip "
robertsj547, 10 Mars 2019

I was with my family and friends. The room was clean but old. But because it was old it was very cozy. Breakfast was delicious but small selection. In hotel was good coffee. When you eat you can see river and Vatican. In the same building was shop which worked 24/7 it was very conveniently. About 100 meters from hotel was tram stop. The tram drive to center.

"Ehhh"
SheS123, 05 Mars 2019

We ordered pizza from the front desk agent and she never told us that they (the hotel) would pay for the pizza, when the pizza guy came he told us 20 Euros and we have it to him. WELL we tried to get a refund or a new pizza to replace it and asked the front desk and this is when she told us that the hotel paid for it and claimed that it was a tip. Super upsetting that we lost 20 euros we weren't supposed to. Room is small and tight and the air system is connected through the whole building so we were sweating during the night.

"Nice old fashioned type hotel"
Lynsey S, 28 Février 2019

The room was small but had everything we needed in there and the water and juice in the fridge is free. I liked how the windows opened fully giving a nice view. Unfortunately we did not have the breakfast here so I cannot comment on that. the location is good close to the Stadio Olypimico. we walk everywhere and the hotel was about 45 mins from the Vatican and the Colossium Although there is a tram ride that goes in within 10-15mins. The hotel has a local supermarket nearby and a café/bar down the road open in the daytime. no others bars/restaurants for at least 15-20mins away.

"Short break to take in Rugby match"
_outiandcharles, 27 Février 2019

Location is excellent next to the Tiber and very convenient with the Stadio Olympia an easy 30 minute walk away. A definite bonus is the lovely little restaurant just around the corner. Hotel very good value, everything efficient and clean, staff very helpful. Lovely breakfast room and staff accommodated for my difficult dietary requirements - gluten-free and vegetarian.

"Good hotel outside the centro storico"
Flyer67188269866, 25 Janvier 2019

Spent a week in this hotel. Small clean and comfortable room. The mini fridge has soda, water and snacks, those are free and get restocked everyday. Staff is brilliant and understand service. Breakfast has a good variety, but the choise in sweet goods makes it difficult to make a healthier choise(I'm not complaining here)

"For the traveller with a budget and high standards"
51yolanda, 16 Janvier 2019

My sister and I stayed in this hotel in September of 2018. It was a great location and a good walking distance to the spanish steps, shopping and the Vatican as well as theolder section of Rome. It was clean and quiet with a lovely breakfast buffet overlooking the river and city scape. The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpfull. What else can you ask for?

"Great Hotel"
Traveler169282, 09 Janvier 2019

Excellent service, friendly staff who were very helpful, breakfast nook has an amazing view, good location if like us, you enjoy walking everywhere but close to trams, subway, if not. Great value for money - we will go back!

"Too far from City center"
Julia S, 04 Janvier 2019

This was a super clean hotel. that I can say but too far from the city center. You have to take a tram and walk a LONG city block to get to the timely tram with some beggars asking for money on the way. I like to be in the city center and for that reason I will not return.

"Great Hotel"
rbcatraveler, 25 Novembre 2018

We stayed 4 nights while visiting our son who was studying at Temple University Rome. Great location and easy to get to public transport. A little north of the center, but still well situated. Our room was of good dice in the first floor. Very comfortable and seemingly this floor had recently been remodeled. We enjoyed breakfast a number of mornings on the fifth floor with a view of the Tiber. We definitely recommend.

"Good Hotel. Staff was great."
River D, 23 Novembre 2018

We enjoyed our 3 nights and would stay here again. Room was a little warm, air conditioner didn't seem to help. We opened the windows and it cooled down nicely. At first we heard voices through the walls and thought uh oh. But it wasn't a problem and we slept good, window was open to a quiet courtyard all night, no problem. It was a short walk to transit. There are restaurants close by. And a grocery store right around the corner. Staff was great, very helpful.

"This is a very nice hatel. I stayed here for whole week."
jsapieha, 11 Novembre 2018

The hotel is very close to the old City center ~ 20 min walk, perfect location. The rooms are very small but they are very clean. Breakfast is good and the breakfast room is situated in the place with a view to the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican.

"Good, not great"
kaylajw, 05 Novembre 2018

I felt that our stay here left more to be desired. The location was not great for doing a lot of sight-seeing. It's nice to be off the beaten path for quiet, but a €10-15 taxi or multiple means of public transit are absolutely necessary for getting to any sight. It's also quite a distance from the main airport (€60). The beds were fairly hard and rooms are quite small. Customer service and cleanliness was great. This was booked in a package through our travel agent, so I can't comment on the cost to value comparison.

"great location, great staff..."
Sandy M, 04 Novembre 2018

The Hotel Best Western Astrid was great. We (3 couples) from Canada stayed here for 3 nights...2 days before our cruise and 1 day after our cruise. Our stay was very satisfactory. There is a market right around the corner and lots of resturants very close to the hotel.A nice walk around the area is worth it.The rooms are small but comfy. The lady in the breakfast area was so kind and helpful. She knew we had to get up very early for our flight and had biscuits and coffee readily available for us at 5am. Thank You. I would highly recommend this hotel and would return in a heartbeat!!! Thanks for the plesant experience. Sandy and Merv McCulloch

"Nice Hotel, Decent Room, Good Location"
jestz07, 03 Novembre 2018

Stayed here for a few days on a recent business trip. The hotel is older but still in good condition. The room is quite small, a typical smaller European hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room served its purpose. The staff were very friendly and helpful in navigating the area. The location is very close to the Stadio Olimpico (10 minute walk) and about a 45-50 minute walk from Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc. The breakfast was my only complaint. It only consisted of pastries and some deli meats. If you are looking for a typical continental breakfast, this place doesn't have it.

"Our 30th Wedding anniversary trip to Rome"
jewelsnewton, 07 Octobre 2018

Lovely, clean hotel, staff were very helpful and courteous, free mini bar and safe in our room. Air conditioning works well and balcony windows have blackout blinds which work very well. The bed is very comfortable and remade everyday.

"Comfortable room, good location"
JenInVic, 07 Octobre 2018

While a little ways away from some of the big sites, a combination of walking (to the Vatican in about 35 minutes), metro and streetcar got us everywhere we wanted to be easily. A variety of excellent restaurants are nearby, there's a shop around the corner with all the essentials, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff were helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Best Place to stay!!"
Chris P, 03 Octobre 2018

Ok! First, let me start of by saying...this is by far the best staff at a Hotel that I have ever met!!! Inhad inquiries before my arrival from America and they were very attentive and were happy to assist for rhe airport transfer. Our driver from the airport was very nice and pointed out when we officially arrived in Roma and then the iconic sports along the way. Check in at the hotel was a breeze! It took us maybe 5minutes! They staff made sure we knew the time and price for the breakfast and the accommodations the hotel had. The room: it was super adorable and was very spacious! The bathroom was lovely and the balcony doors were super unique! The cleaning staff: they were very nice, every day we were there they asked us if we needed anything. If we did they were quick to get whatever the item was. We only had our room cleaned one day out of ten to cut down on killing the environment. But when they did come in to clean they were quick and efficient! The location: nothing short of PERFECT!! The 24 hour market down stairs on street level was the best thing to have!! There were items I needed, shampoo, lotion, etc. They had it. It was a friends birthday and I even found a Birthday sign to hang up for her! The sushi there was amazing! The staff amazing!! They saw such all 10 days haha!! We took the train one day and paid 5 euros one way for four people. We realized the location of the hotel was perfect that it cost the same if not cheaper to taxi where we wanted to go. Most we spent was 15 euros and that was only because we walked to far that by time we wanted to head back it was a little further. It was 11 euros to theVatican, which you could see from the room!! 10 euros to the Trivi Fountain and Colosseum 12 euros to the zoo and 6 to 8 euros from the surrounding communities! The weather was perfect and we left our door to balcony open the entire trip, no bug nor bird or bat flew in and it was so peaceful! The elevator was older and had a vintage feel, I liked it! We never had the breakfast due to sleeping in, but I'm sure it was nice. We are already planning a trip back!! This is a MUST stay!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality!!! First time to Italy and you all made it wonderful!!!

"Above average location - Clean hotel - Small rooms - bad food"
Bassem H, 01 Octobre 2018

I can fairly say that my stay in this hotel was average as there was nothing that amused me and also nothing that discomforted me. The location: The hotel was in an above average location as you can reach any of the major touristic attractions in less than 25 mins. It's looking over the river so you can enjoy a good view. And it's few mins walk to a tram and bus stations. The rooms and hotel facilities: the hotel is a bit classic style with old yet very clean and stylish furniture and floor tiles. The rooms were bit small and the bathroom was really tight. The windows are thin so you will hear the noises coming from the street. The buffet: the buffet did not have any varieties, it was very poor and the food quality was below average, the restaurant staff could not speak english. Yet it was not very expensive when I booked it so it can be an fair quality for money.

"Fantastic location and staff"
pippi s, 26 Septembre 2018

Loved our stay here , the location is great as you can get to most of the tourist spots within 40 minutes top , tram stop at the end of the road and the metro 10 minutes walk away. Two supermarkets very close and the drinks are very cheap for the room.Breakfast is great for just 5 euros, and the staff we exellent, very welcoming and helpful , the lovely lady om reception help us sort our transfer back to the airport. The only thing i will say is the room we had was quite snug and if you are a larger build be careful getting in the shower , and if you are a light sleeper like me take ear plugs as can get a little noisey over the weekend This been said i really do recommend this hotel

"Weekend break in a lovely hotel"
ANNETTE P, 23 Septembre 2018

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for two nights in Sept . It was a 30 min walk to the centre we had a really lovely time here . The building was historical very clean pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent really good choice and buffet style . In our room we had air con free wifi a safe and free mini bar which was restocked every day . We would definitely recommend this hotel and if we were to visit Rome again we would stay here.

"Rome holiday "
Georgie0808, 20 Septembre 2018

We stayed here for 7 nights. We had a spacious clean room with a fridge which was replenished every day with soft drinks and snack. Breakfast is continental with a good range to choose from. All the staff are friendly and helpful too. The hotel is in easy reach of all attractions and a tram at the bottom of the street which takes you too the edge of the town centre. Also a supermarket next to the hotel which is really handy too. Would return to this hotel again.

"Ok, basic hotel on a budget "
GrandTour786803, 16 Septembre 2018

We stayed here for 4 nights and although it is not great, it does what it's supposed to and is an ok hotel if you were out most of the day like we were. The room was very basic and small, so we only showered and slept there. Unfortunately we were woken up at 8am on 2 mornings as we heard the wall in the room next to us being drilled and hammered to pieces, you could literally hear the wall crumbling and there were huge bangs that shook the room. I had to ring reception as I was concerned there was a madman in the room, as I thought no hotel staff would surely refurbish a room at 8am?! Anyway, after we mentioned it the noise stopped that day but then happened again the next day. However, it is clean, close to the centre (about 20 mins walk) and there is a mini fridge in the room which is replenished with water, Coke, crisps and chocolate daily which is a nice gesture. We would probably stay here again if we had to and couldn't afford anywhere nicer. On average a good hotel though.

"Worth 3-star hotel"
claudio b, 10 Septembre 2018

It's located in a historical building in Rome, its breakfast is pretty rich, plus note for their yoghurt machine. For a 3-star hotel is a worth destination, minus may be some rooms may be noisy because they are street side.

"Too far from the city center"
Julialynn P, 06 Septembre 2018

I booked this because of the price and because it was near the tram as stated. What they DO NOT tell you is that the tram is a LONG city block walk to get to and then it stops sometime in the evening and you are forced to take a cab which is very expensive. I would not stay there again due to the distance to the main attractions also I did not like the breakfast which was stale and coffee was bad the room with the view had no open windows able to take in air so you could not breathe it was stuffy the selection was poor at the breakfast too and the supermarket on the first floor had good food but our fridge did not work properly I spilled wine on the floor and got on the wall so they handed me a bill with video footage and pictures the maid took for 50 euros extra for my stay. The place is not someplace I would return to again.

"1st visit to Italy"
Blanca C, 28 Août 2018

Clean room and safe. Our safe did not work but, did not notify the hotel staff. Too excited to be in Rome and looking forward to my first time there. Not too far from the city and very easy and accessible transportation available. Staff was very friendly at all times. Only wished the hotel had access to a microwave to heat up my delicious leftovers.

"Perfect Hotel for our first trip to Rome"
sarahwallace2018, 27 Août 2018

This hotel is excellent in every way! I would definitely recommend it. Rooms are great and the breakfast was really nice! Especially sitting on the roof terrace over looking the river. The hotel went out of their way to provide us with all our requests. I will definitely be returning and also recommending this to our family and friends.

room was clean , safe didn't work had to use reception safe, air con was intermittent. continental breakfast was good. slightly to far to town but there is a tram at the end of the road that costs one euro fifty each way or you can get a three day pass.

"Europe Holiday 2018"
Hisham_SA, 27 Août 2018

It is a nice and clean, 3 star hotel. Just 25 minuets walk to Spanish steps and nearby attractions. Metro, tram and bus stations are nearby. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is good and cost 5 Euro. Super market is at the corner. Staff were nice and helpful. We stayed 3 nights, and park our Van on street nearby the hotel.

"Great hotel - just outside centre of Rome"
Patrick K, 25 Août 2018

Had a great time in Rome, and although this hotel was quite a way from the centre (on a convenient bus route though) we had a great stay and would recommend the hotel and area. Good authentic restaurants close by, breakfast was good and staff were helpful and freindly. The walls are thin and you can hear a lot of you neighboring guests but the hotel was spotless and room more than adequate

"Better than expected no problems"
Resident, 06 Août 2018

We didn't spend a great deal of time in hotel as so much to see. Friendly and helpful staff & clean rooms. Good location - not miles out of the city like some. Absolutely no complaints. Would recommend

"Great Location"
Mia B, 04 Août 2018

We enjoyed our stay here, the staff were really friendly and the the rooms were clean. The location is fantastic - it's ready to get to Flaminio metro station either by walking (20 mins) or by getting the bus number 2/tram. We got the train from the airport to Roma termini then to Flaminio, rather than spend €50+ on a taxi. From there all the major attractions are either walkable (Trevi Fountain/Spanish steps) or just a short metro ride away. There are so many restaurants around the hotel - either just around the corner or just over the bridges. If you're a football fan, the hotel is just a short walk away from stadio olimpico, which is also fun to explore as a tourist attraction.

"Quiet Get Away R&R"
William H, 02 Août 2018

While the property in a residential neighborhood is slightly removed from the tourist track, it was very pleasant. Most impressive was the hotel staff which was particularly accommodating, especially when I asked for a room change, needed a key replacement and other requests. Great city views during the 5th floor breakfast. Good nearby restaurants and a has-everything supermarket right around the corner.

"Rom resa"
Pelleman58, 01 Août 2018

Hotel Astrid is a freshly-run hotel with small rooms, which is enough for a few nights. The room was clean and the breakfast room was cozy. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Very good in English and they gave us tips on restaurants nearby.

"A truly nice place to stay"
Maria P, 23 Juillet 2018

We spend 4 nights at this hotel during out stay in Rome. The rooms are very clean, the bed really comfortabe, the breakfast excellent and the service is good. From the teracce that breakfast is served you can see the Vatican city, St. Petros Cathedral and Tiber river. The hotel is located in a very nice neibourgh of Rome near the historic city center and near Tiber river. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

"Nice hotel, close to Rome"
Oscarlegnesjo, 18 Juillet 2018

Clean, fresh rooms close to Rome. Has everything that u need in a breakfast. The hotel is pretty close to Rome, 10 euros in a taxi and you're in the heart of Rome. Nothing to complain about, nice with air condition after a hot day outside.

"Very comfortable and convenient"
Luis Jose G, 10 Juillet 2018

The hotel is part of an old palace. The room is very comfortable. Minibar is complementary! Great wifi. Breakfast is quite good, and inexpensive. Good location to use public transportation network, although TRAM line 2 was not in service during our stay (a pity).

"Charming!"
TB2Young, 09 Juillet 2018

The tram wasn't running so it was a 8 - 20 euro taxi each direction to central Rome, however it is a charming hotel with many features. We could walk in to central but weather was hot and it is about 2 miles. Surrounded by nice restaurants, grocery store and minimal shopping but nice to come back to the hotel area for the evenings. Our room was for 3 as we traveled with our 15 year old grand daughter. Adequate, very clean, tiny shower but lots of hot water. Small fridge was a bonus. Breakfast was a highlight - great coffee, the best crousants, fresh fruit, variety of breads, cereals, fresh yogurt, hard boiled eggs, meat and cheese......in a lovely room with open windows and great view! Staff were excellent - spoke good English, helpful, happy. Would have loved a pool - price reasonable.

"Friendly staff, clean quiet classic style hotel in convenient location"
9npf, 07 Juillet 2018

The hotel is a stylish older style hotel with a charming cage lift in a good arra. Only a few steps up to the lift. Double glazed. Handy to MAXXI museum and Borghese gardens. The buses are frequent to Flamingo metro but packed at peak hour. Bistrot restaurant in a little courtyard was a lovely surprise off via GB Tiepolo just around the corner from the hotel.

"GREAT HOTEL AND LOCATION"
gmedrano130, 21 Juin 2018

Hotel is near tram with supermarket next door.Rooms are small but manageable(four of us in room with double beds).Front staff very accommodating and helpful-especially white-haired gentleman who booked taxi for me for our early morning departure to airport. Not very impressed with young bearded man whom I did not find to be as friendly or accommodating as other staff.Breakfast could have other choices available(scrambled eggs, bacon hot links, etc)Would definitely recommend hotel.

"MORE THAN VALUE FOR MONEY"
AduPreez, 21 Juin 2018

The Best Western Hotel Astrid is more than value for money. The location is excellent and close to the trams, the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious and for the first time we experienced a complimentary mini-bar with water, cold drinks and chocolates!!! This was a real surprise. They also allowed us to make use of the breakfast room at night to have our own wine and snacks. This hotel is a definite recommendation.

"Good Location"
Zena B, 20 Juin 2018

Nice hotel. Clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is optional but worth the €5.00. Supermarket and selection of nice restaurants close by. Good location to all major sights. Trevi Fountain about 20 minute walk directly but you will be side tracked taking in all the views, shops etc.

"Great visit for the Tennis at Foro Italica"
Grethe S, 15 Mai 2018

We were glad to have booked this hotel for a visit to the tennis. We were in Room 508 and all was well. Free mini bar. The Front Desk was very helpful and provided us with maps and Information. Hotel is very central. Walk down to the end of the road and take a No 2 Tram to the Termini and then a short walk into town. No 19 tram takes you to the Vatican. €1.50 for this trip from No 2 then No 19. We did walk a lot as well. A number of restaurants in the area as well. Breakfast in the hotel was €5. Just be aware that the lift is an old fashioned one with the metal gate that you open and close first. Only takes about 5 adults max. We were a bit disappointed on our last day when our showers weren't very warm. I asked the Front Desk who told me that to many people had used up the water. Not satisfactory. Very quiet hotel. Although only 3stars it was fine and we often stay in 4 or 5star hotels. I think internet was ok. I would stay here again.

"Homely Hotel with excellent staff"
Forbes K, 03 Mai 2018

My wife and I stayed in the Astrid as a gift from pour daughters for our Ruby Wedding and overall the experience was excellent. From the time of our arrival, the staff could not be more helpful and made us feel very welcome. Although our room was small, it was clean and adequate for our short break. Although we had not booked breakfast, a very acceptable continental breakfast was on offer for a very reasonable 5 euros. The breakfast room however was rather small for the size of the hotel and guests had to frequently wait for a table. The hotel was very convenient for transport into the city centre and surrounding restaurants were high class without the city centre. prices. The only downside of the Astrid is the lack of a restaurant and a bar to allow guests to relax in the evening after a long day of sightseeing. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others and would return if I am in Rome again

"Nice hotel"
StevenSarah99, 01 Mai 2018

The staff, rooms, and breakfast are great. We really enjoyed the area, the local restaurants serve good food and it's not priced for tourists. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.xzdew

"Recommended. A very good stay."
Terry C, 30 Avril 2018

Hotel is in a great location with buses and tram in short walking distance. Very helpful front desk and breakfast staff. Although my room was next to a communal lavatory it was very quiet apart from a very occasional visitor using that facility. The lift was very convenient but I used the stairs except on arrival and departure.

"nice"
wuffy1, 27 Avril 2018

front desk very very helpful friendly. tram to town very convenient around corner from hotel.grocery store around corner also very convenient. wifi was always available. no airconditioning, heat only until summer:( shower very small. single room was fine, mostly out sightseeing! my only disappointment was being charged for breakfast daily. while it was great, and on scenic top floor, booked thru tripadvisor/getaroom and it was supposed to be included as free:(:( didn't find out til being charged on departing. would stay again.

"Very disappointing stay."
CS K, 20 Avril 2018

Checked in 16 Apr 2018 for 6 nights. Room on 1st floor which was newly renovated so it looked good at first glance. But aircon was faulty. Had complained about it to 4 different front desk staff on 4 occasions - but NOTHING was done. Had 1 particularly rude man who described my faulty aircon as "your problem". It is not my problem. It is the hotel's problem and it is their responsibility to solve it! He also told me to open the windows -- where I had the aural pleasure of enjoying incessant car honking and people talking, as well as enjoy 2nd hand smoke (my room is just above the Carrefour entrance). To add to the misery - WiFi is unstable, and there was no WiFi at all for 1 night. Pictures of the roof 'restaurant' look good, but it is very small with seating for perhaps 30 people. Breakfast is miserable with only 1 type of hard boiled egg, 2 types of ham slices and 1 type of slice cheese. But to be fair, the kitchenette staff are very friendly and they do try their best to do a good job despite the limited setting.

"Get the breakfast!"
SomeGirl, 14 Avril 2018

Spent 4 nights here as a home base for some concerts and sightseeing. Pros: - VERY helpful front desk staff provided easy directions to everywhere - 24/7 supermarket attached -safe comfortable neighbourhood in good location - late night bar around the back - google Kilmoon Pub - clean room, prompt daily housekeeping - beautiful bright breakfast room with quaint outside balconies - great breakfast selection and terrific value at 5 euros - funky staircase - great price Cons: -No cons really. The room was on the small side and it wasn't the best bed ever but still totally adequate and very good value. No gym. Reminders: -beware of per person/per night city tax of about 4 euros -byo hair conditioner and lotion (shampoo only provided) -no washcloths in Europe Recommendation: - Rossopomodoro Roma Lungotevere Mazzini --- it's a nice restaurant with good prices, 10 minutes walking distance across the river with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating

"Nice Hotel"
User, 04 Avril 2018

For the price we paid and the rating of the hotel we had a very enjoyable stay. From beginning to end all staff were very polite and courteous. The free minibar helped with water and juice available whenever. Breakfast was very nice and catered for all needs. I would stay here again.

"Tiny, outdated room with no wifi."
diana a, 20 Février 2018

For a hotel affiliated with Best Western I was very disappointed. The hotel looks nice on the outside, but the inside is very old and outdated. The staff at the check in desk were very friendly. We didn't really have much contact with any other staff during our 2 night stay. Our room was on the 5th floor and the one lift seemed to be perpetually busy, so we walked the stairs most of the time. The room was the smallest room I've ever stayed in all of Europe. There is barely any room to store or place any of your belongings. The amenities are outdated. The bed was too firm for my taste and pillows were flat. The fridge in our room did not function properly. The worst was that the "free wifi" in our room did not work. Getting to the old city center will be a mile walk, or ride on public transportation or via a cab. The bonus of the hotel was the 24/7 Carrefour (supermarket) located just around the corner. We will most likely stay somewhere else on our next visit to Rome.

"Excellent value for money!"
andrejasreckovic, 19 Février 2018

We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel and it was really good experience! The location is great - you can easily reach city center by walk - around 20minutes, or by tram, the station is very close. Hotel is nicely maintained. It has a wide choice of food for breakfast. Staff is really friendly.

"Clean and adequate for a city break"
Cooper117, 15 Février 2018

Hotel clean, breakfast available for a small charge. Rooms adequate however a bit ‘lived in' compared to photos. 30 mins walk to city centre attractions, 20 minutes opposite direction to Stadium Olimpic... pleasant stay and rooms made up daily ... remember to add in tourist tax to price of hotel !

"Great location for thr stadium"
Jan A, 08 Février 2018

Stayed for 5 days to cover the 6 nations rugby. Ideal location good access for central Rome and the Olympic stadium. Helpful staff good value breakfast. Rooms comfy if basic quite at night. Some good restaurants close by with good prices.

"Good location for the Olympic stadium"
LoughboroughProf, 07 Février 2018

This hotel is excellent value. Its location is good for the stadium and there is a tram close by for transport into the city. Rooms are small but very clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is especially good value with a wide choice and hot water in tea pots! The beds are a little too firm for my liking, but the pillows are good. Could do with more storage space/ drawers etc.

"Great location and fabulous staff"
Carrie063, 07 Février 2018

Our room was a bit on the small side but clean and sufficient for our stay of four nights with comfortable beds. There was a mini bar with soft drinks and snacks and a kettle with various tea bags and coffee. The bathroom was clean and a good size with usual supplies provided. Breakfast was available with a continental menu - boiled eggs, cheese, salami, breads, cereals, yoghurt and cakes. More than sufficient! The location was good. A short walk to a tram stop, about a 20 minute walk to the metro station and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area. We went to watch the Six Nations Rugby and the Stadium was about a 30 minute walk away. The reception staff were great, lots of advice, very helpful and friendly. There were a few negatives, mostly minor such as the corner shower door - a bit of a squeeze for me, the lift is small but at least there is one, no bar in the hotel but plenty surrounding. The biggest negative was the noise from the lift door, the adjoining rooms and inconsiderate guests! Generally a great stay though!

"Great place to stay"
Sara B, 06 Février 2018

Ideal hotel for rugby and exploring city. Easy access to city centre and airport using tram and Metro. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room clean and good size with nice selection of breakfast food. It is an ideal base and good value.

"Very Well Balanced"
eitake, 12 Janvier 2018

The Hotel is located in the quiet part of Rome, and the neighbourhood was felt secure. By walking five minutes or so, we can catch a tram at Mancini terminal. As destination of the tram is Flaminio, most of the attractions of Rome are within the reach. Hotel staffs are very friendly and effective. Breakfast is great. I used cable LAN socket in the room satisfactorily. Happily my assigned room was equipped with a beautiful tub in the clean bath room. Everything in the hotel are quite comfortable though not luxurious.

"Slow and steady wins the race"
BruiserUTB, 18 Décembre 2017

Lovely stay, as always, even if this place has the world's slowest lift! Having stayed here about five times now (and will continue to do so) because of its location to the concert venue we perform in, it's got to the comical stage. My advice: press for the lift well in advance of when you *actually* need it! Breakfast is simple but has a nice view. There's a park nearby to walk/jog/run around (depending on your level of adventure) and some eateries which are neither brilliant nor rubbish. Ci vediamo alla prossima! (See you next time!)

"Clean, Good breakfast but you could here TV and snooring from room aside."
Johan B, 22 Novembre 2017

+Breakfast very good.Beautiful view from the restaurant. + Clean and good reception service but you could hear snoring and TV from the room beside. Location super. Close to tram and good restaurants nearby

"Great Hotel and Service! "
rogeragurcia, 19 Novembre 2017

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend. The staff were very friendly and bilingual. We used the airport pick up service which was $53 and cheaper than a regular cab! The room was small but it was nice and enough for what we needed. The location is a short 2 minute walk to the tram which you can take to the metro. I recommend staying here!

"Tiny rooms, noisy & needs decorating :0("
NightBreed01, 09 Novembre 2017

First off, the room was a joke, and a bad one at that. Putting a tiny double bed into a room does not make it a double room! There are 3 steps from the bottom of the bed to the wall, 3 steps from the left of the bed to the wardrobe and 2 and a half steps from the right of the bed to the wall. The cost of this tiny room? 110 euros per night! On top of that, Wooden floors so that you can hear every footstep above, loud tiles in the corridors, and room doors that have to be slammed to close. But the icing on the cake was being woken up at 7.30am every morning to the sound of power tools from the workmen renovating the 1st floor. Is it really ethical to be taking money from guests when their stay is being seriously disrupted like that? I don't think so. The work has obviously been going on for some time, its extensive so why aren't they informing customers of the disruption and offering them alternative accommodation or a refund? This is on top of the noise form the very noisy traffic all night. On a positive note, The breakfast was quite good, although nothing cooked, the staff were helpful. I gave this feedback to the hotel directly, and received a response that they were scheduling the work to start later from now on....way too late for my relaxing romantic break in Rome!

"Very comfortable Hotel"
mrbbque, 08 Novembre 2017

Had a great experience at the Best Western Hotel Astrid. Hotel desk was very friendly, clean Hotel, and helped us navigate our trip into the city. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Would recommend this Hotel to all our friends and families.

"Nice location , but too noisy"
mahsa m, 08 Novembre 2017

hotel was at a very good location and also the building was a nice building but unfortunately it was too noisy, we had street side rooms and we couldnt sleep all the night. Also we didnt have internaet connection on this side of the building all the time we stayed there

"Too Noisy and Too Small"
lucapY6029VP, 31 Octobre 2017

Very good location, very nice ancient building but unfortunately very small rooms, bathroom incredible small, very noisy due to the electricity control panel in the room and also the air conditioning. Wifi was very poor (maybe just in our room) but was not working at all. Breakfast ok, very nice the terrace with a gorgeous Rome city view.

"Good stay, something missing"
ralfg831, 26 Octobre 2017

The stay in the hotel was ok, for one night service and prices acceptable. If you would longer stay the price per night is high. Location is good, public traffic is close by and the location is nice .

"Would definitely stay here again."
Sophie M, 21 Octobre 2017

Staff friendly. Easy to get to central Rome, 5 mins on one tram. Restaurants much better and cheaper in this area than tourist parts of Rome (Italians eat in this area). Rooms were very clean but could use a little upgrading.

"Noise"
Jonas M, 17 Octobre 2017

You can hear doors banging, tv's playing, people talking all night long. If you like a good night's sleep, don't stay here. Flimsy windows made three hefty traffic part of the experience. Super small bathrooms that come apart when you shower. Our reservation was not registered, their fault, we ended with rooms anyway. Wish we hadn't.

"Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood"
T1763OAbrendah, 12 Octobre 2017

Nice, quiet, clean hotel in great neighborhood. Nearby restaurants with great food and service. Transportation close and convenient. Would definitely recommend. Front desk staff goes out of their way to be helpful. We loved having a room that faced the street. If we needed quiet we could close windows and we were fine.

"We will return"
Samuel W, 29 Septembre 2017

Hotel Astrid is absolutely a wonderful hotel. Staff is ever so helpful, location is residential with very easy access to public transport. Restaurant Flaviniono (misspelled) is a few steps away and we highly recommend it. It is a neighborhood 4 star, go later in the evening, as the Romans do

"wonderful time in rome"
roston, 15 Septembre 2017

We visited the Best Western Astrid for 3 days prior to our cruise from Rome and had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The front desk staff Valentina and the other young girl(sorry forgotten her name) were both very helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. As well as Danielle thru emails prior to our arrival. The hotel is situated very close to the highlights of Rome and very clean, great breakfast in the mornings included with 2 very nice ladies working the breakfast buffet. Our only complaint would be that the bathroom shower was extremely small but the room itself was a fair size. bar fridge was in the room and stocked with water, soft drinks and a few snacks daily which were free. We would stay here again without any hesitation and recommend it to anyone considering it. We booked in advance thru the hotel u a ride from the airport to the hotel and it was good too.

"great place to stay"
lawrencea332, 28 Août 2017

good connecting road to the main city. we were welcomed by the extremely professional Valentina at the reception -Thanks for the wonderful professional service -you are 5 STARS! Free bar -water is vital and supplied for free among other goodies and drinks.

"Family trip"
edithh101, 26 Août 2017

This hotel is about half an hour away from everything you have to take a taxi or take the train or take the bus to get anywhere so it is a little expensive so I recommend you to get something more near the venues of the cathedral if you are looking for more quiet places this is your place .

"Best Western Hotel Astrid Roma"
erdemd343, 26 Août 2017

Hotel rooms are clean and comfortable in general. Breakfast quality is above average. Bathroom and towels should have been cleaner. The hotel is located in 30 minute walking distance to Piazza del Popolo, beyond which the touristic attractions are held.

"Good, clean place, friendly staff "
riccjul, 25 Août 2017

The only downside is that there are very few parking places, or you have to pay for the day. Otherwise the rooms were clean, comfortable, simple but good breakfast, and staff were very attentive. You must take the tram number 2, and in 3 stops you are at piazza del popolo, from where you can walk into town.

"great hotel"
76derekd, 20 Août 2017

good location, just a tram ride away from everything which takes about 5 mins. nice continental breakfast and nice staff. free wifi and mini bar with water and coke which we needed as it was nearly 40 degrees out, room has good air con and nice bed.

"Great hotel location within easy reach of the vibrant city of Rome"
MiaG, 01 Août 2017

We stayed for 3 nights in July 2017 booked through a hotel booking website. We had a triple room which included a double and small single bed ideal for 10 year old. We had no problem with the room size. Our room 204 was the largest on the floor according to the floor plan. We had windows which opened onto the internal courtyard area of the hotel. Shutters on the inside blocked the light very efficiently. The bathroom was absolutely fine, with just a shower, bidet, sink and toilet. Shower was good with a strong flow of water, no problem with the heat, fully adjustable in height. In the bedroom there was a lack of storage space, no drawers for clothes, only handers in the wardrobe area. This didn't bother us too much as we just kept the smaller clothes in our suitcases. The room had a kettle, cups and some tea/coffee. There was also a fridge in the room which was stocked daily with free water, some nibbles and soft drinks. This was much appreciated and very helpful when we arrived hungry from our flight. We took out two bottles of water every day and re-filled these at the numerous drinking fountains around the City. Service at the hotel was efficient and on the whole quite friendly. Breakfast was ideal, located on the 5th floor of the hotel, with a couple of tables where you could sit outside. We actually sat outside every morning as the weather was beautiful 30degrees and there was shade from the canopy. Eating breakfast on the balcony was one of my favourite memories of the trip. It was here I felt like we were really in Rome. The public areas were very nice, marble and traditionally styled. The old fashioned lift rather amusing for my 10 year old who had never seen anything like that before. The hotel was kind enough to give us a slightly later check out so we only had 1 hour before heading off to the airport. We were able to store our suitcases in a secure cupboard next to reception whilst we had lunch. Sightseeing from the hotel was easy. Just down the street is a tram stop. Buy a ticket from the kiosk (also selling papers, sweets etc) and hop on the tram. 3 stops and you are at Piazza del Popolo area where you can get the metro into the main tourist areas like Vatican or pick up a tour bus from Piazza Barberini. The metro tickets were in a range of prices. We bought one for Euro 1.5 each which lasted 1 journey. There were other options if you were using the metro more which may be cost effective. Most of the time we walked around the city. We saw everything we aimed to see when planning the trip. We spent about 5 hours at the Vatican, and the same amount of time at the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, Roman Forum and Palantine Hill. Another day spent wandering the lovely Villa Borghese park and on a bus tour then walking the city. The last day of our trip we spent a few hours walking around the hotel area, browsing the Olympic park and football stadium, the river and had a take away lunch from the fabulous shop next to the hotel. It was enough time but we could have easily spent more time at every place. Restaurants are aplenty in the City and also near the hotel. We ate at the nearest restaurant - Perilli al Flaminio - on the last night of our trip and found the food was delicious. We booked our transfer from the airport to the hotel via email with the hotel. It was EUR 55 for the 3 of us. For the return we booked elsewhere online and paid only EUR45 which was excellent value. The driver took us back through the city and we got to see again the highlights of our trip. I would recommend this hotel and definitely return.

"Good place to stay on a budget"
Kristen F, 26 Juillet 2017

This hotel is not right downtown in Rome. However, it is a very short walk to the tram that will take you to a Subway station. We booked through Delta Vacations and stayed here 8 nights. Mini fridge was refilled everyday with water, other beverages and snacks. Maid service was good. Shower very small, but not worth griping about. The people at the front desk are either very nice and helpful, or condescending and rude. It depends on the person and shift. Some of them can be rude when you ask questions, as if you are dumb for not knowing every detail and nuance of Rome. There is a 24 hour store next door where you can get snacks and other items you may need while staying there. Would definitely stay there again, despite the rude workers at the desk. Also, the included breakfast was quite good. As Americans, we were not as interested in eating cold cut style meat and cheese and other foreign guests, but we ate crossaints, yogurt and fruit every day. More variety would be nice, but I did not mind. There is also a machine where you can make yourself many different espresso drinks throughout the day. The free computers and printers were helpful as well.

"Excellent hotel, excellent staff"
Mariana R, 10 Juillet 2017

I staid here for a night, with my daughter, in June, 28. We've choose this hotel for its position (near Stadio Olimpico). The staff (all the staff) is by excellency very professional, kind, warm and "accogliente"!!!!! The room was very clean, with free minibar and a beautiful view. I strongly recommend. Thank you very much for all.

"Good Hotel and Location"
cvillaman, 07 Juillet 2017

This is a nice hotel with excellent location to the city; FCO airport is 22 miles away from the Hotel, about 45 minutes without traffic; We liked the fact was close to the train/tram station, we walked for about 3-5 to take the Tram -line2 (Ankara/Tiziano” stop) and get off at Flaminio Stop to take Line A to go to the Vatican or Rome city. Please note Tram tickets are sold in a kiosk on the street across the stop, its better to buy the 24h ($7.00 Euros) one if you're planning to use the metro/buses. the other ones only last 100 minutes. Price was moderate for our stay; The hotel also offer a breakfast buffet for $8.00 Euros, was not bad, they have different choices. They also have a shuttle service for $55.00 euros from the Airport to/from the hotel, this price its up to 3 people in a van. The common areas are well kept , rooms are not big but accommodate two people well, bathroom was okay too. Staff speak English well and were very attentive; There is free Wi-Fi available in the entire hotel; There are multiple restaurants and snack places around the area that are open late. The football stadium its also close to this place. You can feel free to walk late at night, we had no problems, plus the army its everywhere you go.

"Excellent and immaculate place to stay"
Mark P, 27 Juin 2017

Firstly the only thing that is negative about this hotel is that the rooms are small, but perfectly adequate if you intend being out and about and come with all the usual facilities. It's an easy walk to the tram stop which takes you in to the centre and access to the tube network for sightseeing. The hotel was immaculate throughout and our room was spotless and cleaned daily. The room was at the front which overlooks the main road and had a juliette balcony with French doors. If you want it quieter then a room at the back may be better, but we liked to see a bit of life and whilst it's busy it wasn't too noisy. The breakfast is excellent, good coffee, situated in very pleasant dining room on the 5th floor with city rooftop view. There's opening doors and a few outside tables too. Shower was good and a free (non alcoholic) mini bar re-stocked daily. We loved the art - deco style elevator and there's a rather grand marble staircase accessing the floors. Much nicer than the usual decor. Helpful staff and would definitely return and stay here.

"Lovely Stay and such helpful staff, cheap hotel close to the centre of Rome!"
Nadine H, 22 Juin 2017

We have just returned from a 4 day stay in Rome. The hotel Astrid was lovely - it isn't a 5* luxury hotel but we knew that when booking - but when you leave your hotel room at 09:00 hours and return around midnight a 5* hotel was not required. The staff were very helpful especially the gentleman who worked on reception through the day (forgotten his name) he answered all our questions, booked the Vatican for us and gave us advice when we needed it. The local area had a couple of great little gems of the real Italian feel and the tram is just at the end of the road with a 2 minute ride into the city. Breakfast was cereal, meats, cheeses, pastries, etc. just what we needed when we were filling up on pasta, pizza and Galato all day. If you want a simple, clean, friendly hotel not in the centre of Rome but very close this is your place!

"Positives far outweighed by the negatives"
vickeeble, 29 Mai 2017

What a shame that the positives were far outweighed by the negatives! Efficient check in but no offer to assist with our luggage even though we had to climb steps to reach the rather antiquated lift. (More of that later). On reaching the room we were shocked to find that there was absolutely no drawers for our clothes just hanging space in the wardrobe so if you choose to stay here I would advise you not too bring too many clothes as you will have nowhere to put them! When we queried this with the manager we were told that this is mainly a business hotel and most people only stay one night so they don't need as much space! Breakfast was adequate but nothing special and the hotel was situated about twenty minutes from the Vatican and around thirty from the Collosseum by public transport. However the biggest faux pas that was made was the non-arrival of the taxi that we had booked to take us to the station. Having been delayed just a few minutes by the small and antiquated lift, we arrived in reception to discover that the staff had allowed other guests to drive off in the taxi that we had booked leaving us without means to get to the station! The incredible thing was that they couldn't understand why we were so angry. Fortunately we were able to get a second taxi but arrived at the station with little time to spare. So all in all, there are many other hotels in Rome in which you can stay so don't bother with this one!

"Good price, reasonable hotel, good staff"
AlPandR, 09 Avril 2017

We chose the BW Astrid for its price, but its location is quite decent: just a short 7- or 8- euro taxi ride into the main tourist areas of Rome (Colosseum, Pantheon, etc), and sitting next to the Tiber river. The hotel has decent sized rooms, in-room coffee makers, and the wifi is free although it can be spotty. Breakfast on 5th floor is standard fare - cold cut meat, cheese, breads, cereals etc. if you are 1 or 2 people see if you can take one of the two small tables out on the balcony. My room was a fair size, clean, and faced out to the river which meant it could be loud with the windows open - but I was fine with the noise except late at night. One small desk, one small and not too comfortable chair, and a hard bed (which I like). Service was good. So, no complaints. If you want higher end this is not your hotel; if you want decent and at a decent price, it's good.

"For business and vacation"
Inna94, 05 Avril 2017

Spent 9 nights in this hotel mid March. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Minifridge was packed every day with bottled water and snacks: complimentary of the hotel. Breakfast was practically free, 1 euro per person, but was great, mainly the same but good quality food and great varioty, iIncluding great coffee and fruits. And what a magnificent view from the 5th floor of the breakfast area on Tiber river! Location is good, not too far from the city centre, 3 tram stops to Piazza del Popolo and metro station Flaminio, but there is plenty of transportation around to reach different areas of the city. Also proximity to the river prompts for a beautiful walk along Tiber. As for the taxi beware that Astrid is located outside of Rome standard 48 euro fare for taxi ride to airport, but it costed us 50 euro by pre-ordering taxi service on line at Samarcanda Taxi ( service was great). I liked the location because of actually feeling the life of Real Rome, and not the touristic one just 3 stops away: grear supermarket, eateries and a toystore nearby.

"Lovely hotel near Stadium"
andrea p, 07 Février 2017

Stayed here with a group of 33 friends for Rugby weekend, hotel was spotless rooms were spacious and mini fridge was stocked up on a daily basis. Easy reach of Supermarkets Pubs Cafe bars and Tram stops. Continental breakfast was of a good choice but only downfall room was a little small if everyone turned up the same time. Would return

"Incredible Pricing, Incredible Service, Incredible Hotel"
LeenH7, 18 Janvier 2017

This hotel was beautiful. Located in a pretty good location, not amazing. However, the hotel makes up for that with FREE bike rentals with very good quality bicycles with baskets. It is the best way to move around town. Don't let the hotel's cheap pricing fool you. It is worth much more. The rooms are one of the cleanest rooms ever. The bathroom is great. The entire atmosphere of the hotel is vintage. Fell in love with it. The mini bar is free. in the words of my cousin "We hit the jackpot!"

"Excellent value!"
649maggie1953, 15 Janvier 2017

Great value for bed and breakfast: soya milk available at breakfast, stunning views from breakfast bar, waitress made us lovely breakfast picnic bags as wee had to leave very early for airport. Reception staff helpful and friendly, good location, rooms small but very clean and comfortable with a free non alcoholic mini bar, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. A really excellent hotel.

"Good price and pleasant hotel"
Milan1976, 19 Novembre 2016

I wouldn't say this is average but I really cannot rate it as very good. It would fall under a 'good' category, if TripAdvisor had one. For the price is it fine. The rooms are basic but clean and with all the required amenities. Breakfast is basic but nice and with a very pleasant view. Note there is no English TV, not even News. Not good for tourists or people on business. If your on a budget or on a short business trip only then I would recommend this hotel.

"Happy Customers"
breigehector, 07 Novembre 2016

Reviews for this hotel were generally ' positive ', in it's favor , so we were reasonably satisfied to book it for a six nights stay . There is always a doubt in your mind as to whether these reviews will match expectations . We need not have worried . Our experience was a positive one . It is true to say that the hotel is basic , but it is very clean. The rooms are a bit on the small side but the bedding is immaculate . The staff were very helpful and friendly . There is a very good continental style breakfast provided each morning . The Hotel is situated in a quiet residential area , so there are no problems with noise. We were only two blocks away from a tram stop which took us into the city center in less than ten minutes . It could not be easier . Transport costs were very cheap { 7 Euros each } and we were able to buy a day ticket in the News Kiosk beside the tram stop. You can use this ticket all day on the buses , trams , and on the underground. We visited all the top attractions , so we were quite tired each Evening when we returned to the hotel . Hard to get yourself up and going to go back into Town again . No worries . The local restaurants were of a high standard and provided very good value for money . About 50 Euro on average for a three course meal with a bottle of house wine . The restaurants in the center of the City are generally more expensive depending on location . We paid 35 Euro service charge , so look out for that before you dine . Overall we were happy with our Hotel . The location is excellent . We have no problem recommending it to anyone.

"Great Stay"
Nat55555, 04 Novembre 2016

Hotel is situated close to the Foro Italico and also walking distance to the city center. The area is very nice and less busy, it is very good location. Hotel is very nice and very clean, our room was renovated with great and big bathroom on the top floor. The staff was extremely helpful during our stay and also before in short time they answered all my questions and requests. we really enjoyed the breakfast - a lot of choices, great taste and nice view from the terrace.. I really recommend this hotel and for sure we will choose it again .

"Our anniversary trip"
baldy58, 03 Novembre 2016

Visited rome for 4 days at the end of our month long trip. Next time i would do a little longer as it felt rushed...so much to see!!! We used our airmiles for this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Room small but we only really slept there so not really a big deal. Nice bathroom, bed comfortable, and cute narrow deck. A little noisy on main street but so tired at the end of a long day so didnt really matter...the breakfast was typical of italy, nice to start the day off with..Nice view from breakfast area of the vatican. Nice , reasonable restaurant 1 block behind hotel, front desk directed us there and we were very happy with food!! Went back next evening, loaded with people..if u dont get there early may need a reservation...i would recomend this hotel.

"Good hotel, great staff, pleasant amenities."
botticelli252, 01 Novembre 2016

I stayed two nights on each end of a tour in September. The rooms were small but adequate and clean and pleasant. The staff were among the most professional, helpful people I have met in all my travels over the years. My room was booked as part of a tour, but I have since learned that if you book through the hotel website, you can specify one of the bigger rooms if you wish (& pay a little more). There is quite a difference between the standard and premium rooms. It is close to the train stops and surrounded by lots of eating places, fresh food shops and bars.

"Decent Hotel Near Everything in Rome"
tcdpilot, 17 Octobre 2016

Very decent hotel that is just a few minutes walk to Rome's mass transit. The rooms and the entire hotel are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast that was provided was the best breakfast during my family's multiple week trip in Italy during October 2016 and offered a great variety. If you are staying on an upper floor be prepared to walk the stairs as there is only one very small elevator that is slower than a person walking the stairs. The elevator is only able to support two adults and two bags it is that small and weight restricted. During our stay it was abnormally hot so we asked the front desk about air conditioning since our room was facing the courtyard and had absolutely no breeze. They said it was turned on but we were not even able to get a trickle of an airflow out of the unit during our stay. The shower in our room was also extremely small (I'm not a large person by any means) to the point that I had to open the door to be able to soap up before doing a small pivot to rinse. Overall, great staff, great location, decent rooms, and good breakfast. I would recommend his place to stay if you will be spending a majority of your time out and about and just want a room to crash at night. I would not recommend this place for children or people that are not easily able to walk up and down stairs.

"Good"
calaul, 29 Septembre 2016

-small rooms but very clean - face towels are a little beat strange, comparated like kitchen towels - tv programs good, you get sky tv undubbeld (english) - bad is ok - shower cabin is a problem for exrasized people 80x80 cm ?? - very good minibar free fir charges - breakfest very good - warning NO SMOKING AREAS ??!

"Will be back for sure"
Paolo Q, 19 Septembre 2016

Very pleasant staff and very nice hotel. You can go there with no worries. Not really walking distance to main attractions, but still close. I will for sure choose to stay at this hotel again. I also recommend it to anybody else. We were very happy and the styling of it is really nice.

"A decent little hotel"
Fraser A, 13 Septembre 2016

This hotel is ideally positioned within Rome, not too far out from the city centre but not too close to all the tourist hotspots. The terrace that breakfast is served on also has a good view over the city.

"Cozy is one way to describe it...."
desertmarauder, 01 Septembre 2016

The other would be coffin with a TV. The shower is also super tiny. You have to squeeze through the door to get in and have barely enough room to maneuver. The "highlight" of my stay was the torrential down pour of water that landed on the wooden stool that is supposed to be a desk (from an AC unit strategically placed in the ceiling above). Thankfully, I had removed my computer from the desk mere seconds before this happened.

"Very pleasant hotel"
Paul W, 28 Août 2016

Very friendly staff Rooms clean and modern, not very big, but very sufficient, also with daily fresh and free water and some soda on room Breakfast very good and with magnificient view of city A little bit out of centre, but easily to reach with tram. Only the wifi connection could be little bit stronger.... but that is just small detail

"Superb!"
fynbutterfly, 22 Août 2016

Everything about this hotel exudes comfort and hospitality. From the moment wet arrived, check in was easy and seamless. The hotel is beautiful and classy. I loved the triangle shaped staircase. The room was clean and cozy. The bathroom was appropriately sized. It fit a stand alone shower with perfect water pressure. The hotel staff was pleasant and graciously willing to help. We requested a late check out and they accommodated us happily. We asked for recommendations on where to have dinner and was directed to a nice restaurant within walking distance. The front desk clerk gave us a map of Rome that I found to be extremly useful. They even assisted with contacting a taxi for us. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely beautful. There was a nice variety of bread, cheese, fruit, cereal and meat. There was plenty of space for dining. The balcony tables were occupied but the with the windows open you could still see the view. All in all, we were very comfortable at this hotel and will reserve there again.

"Comfortable and not expensive stay"
Kristina A, 14 Août 2016

We have stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and overall experience was very good. Clean modern rooms, looked after very well, excellent conditioning system in hot summer. Few downsides was: no bar, no room service, poor wi-fi connection, breakfast room a bit too small. Location is excellent and short walking distance to Spanga for Spanish stairs etc... (of course if 15 min walk is considered long walk). The highlight of the stay was reception host Valentina. Extremely smiley, friendly and very helpful, overall a pleasure to talk to! I wish all hotels would have a front person like her:)

"Excellent hotel option while visiting Rome!"
Gordana B, 13 Août 2016

This is a great 3* hotel. We stayed in triple room. Beds are comfortable, we slept like babies. Mini bar was free of charge, breakfast excellent with enough options to choose from in nice sunny space on the 5th floor. Great staff. Location is great - little away from "hot" touristic areas but that gives you a chance to explore more of local food options with better prices and it is less crowded. Tram stop no 2 is very close and after a few stops you are next to Piazza del Popolo (Flaminio station) and from there you can explore many attractions by foot. For 12.5 Eur you have 48 hours of public transport (children bellow 10 use public transport for free). If you take tram no 2 to other direction and drive few stops (up to the last stop Mancini), you are a few steps away from best ice cream in the world - Neve di Latte. Remark for tourists that expect more from hotel and are ready to pay more: view from our room was not exisiting (window faces inner backyard), bathroom is clean but not very modern and terrace in breakfast room is very small, hardly fits 2 at the table, so guests mostly eat in breakfast room. I highly recommend this hotel as budget comfortable option while visiting Rome as a tourist. Location is fantastic if you are OK to use public transport which is very inexpensive and convenient in Rome.

"Clean and comfortable"
Hanajohn, 13 Août 2016

Spent two nights in this hotel and found the room to be clean with a comfortable bed and breakfast although nothing fantastic was adequate. The hotel is situated two minutes from the tram and within easy access to all the sight seeing spots around Rome

"Nice hotel"
courtneyrra, 10 Août 2016

My husband and I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago. Although our room was small, we had our own bathroom and the hotel room was very clean with modern furniture. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle- which is nice because we were able to find several authentic Italian restaurants nearby that were reasonably priced. With that being said, the location did make it hard to walk to some of the attractions/ squares we wanted to see, but taking a taxi was easy and inexpensive. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast had a lot of options to chose from.

"Not satisfied"
Ammar B, 31 Juillet 2016

We asked for a room with baby cot and you gave us the smallest room ever that a stroller cannot fit in it We even infirmed u we r celebrating anniversary. What a nice gift we got room size wise The baby ended sleeping on the floor And fix the ac in the breakfast room on 5th floor. We melted there

"Away from the crowds! "
Teresa T, 23 Juin 2016

We stayed here a few times now! Love the fact it's away from the hustle and bustle - can be a little noisy if you sleep with the windows open! Breakfast is fresh and coffee is good. Staff are polite and very helpful - giving suggestions for restaurants and places to visit on your day out. The rooms were cleaned daily - the only gripe we had was the glass shower screen on the bath leaked terribly causing the floor to be very slippery and dangerous! Overall this hotel is above average in all areas as far as we are concerned. Thanks.

"Reasonable Alternative "
TamuHonorer, 18 Mai 2016

Its tough trying to find a hotel in Rome. The nature is local and independent so although it gives an opportunity to try the Roman hospitality offering, it also poses a challenge for those looking for standard requirements. Being a Best Western means that this independent hotel has basics such as safe deposit box and security cameras, this kind of thing helps for me. What is good however is that it is in fact a beautiful property with marble flooring. Not in the center but not faraway at all. Definitely a decent choice.

"Super !"
Emo140, 13 Mai 2016

Great hotel, nice staff, super location. Friendly & smiley - everything was perfect. Breakfast was great, I can not find any disadvantage! One of the west Best Western hotels in the world! I'll recommend the hotel.

"It could be better"
Acidov, 17 Avril 2016

I had a small room, clean but with a view on the interior patio so the room was very dark even during sunny day. There was some problem with my magnetic key card which staff couldn't overcome so I ended with three different typical keys. The dining room offers breakfast on the tiny balcony, too tiny in my opinion. The chairs were old and creaky. Coffee was unacceptable, weak and tasteless. The localization is not so bad but definitely not in the city centre.

"Not Handicap Accessible as Advertised."
Pfoxy65, 12 Avril 2016

My parents booked a handicap/wheelchair room through booking.com for April 3-6, 2016. This hotel is ONLY wheelchair accessable at the front door. Not anywhere else in the hotel. There are six steps up to the elevator that had a ramp over it but it was so steep that his wheelchair was tipping backwards. The room had no rails or handicap access in the restroom. False advertising regarding handicap accessibility. When my parents talked to the manager, he was rude and did nothing to assist my parents. My dad was stuck in the room for those two days.

"Birthday treat "
Ljjema, 08 Avril 2016

Brilliant visit to rome. Hotel is tucked out the way so it's quiet. Very near the tram route so easy to access anywhere you want to go. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant staff helped us with travel plans. Only food served is breakfast but plenty of choice and the restaurant is accessible for coffee all day. Would definitely go back.

"Away from the maddening crowds"
455Kiks, 25 Mars 2016

Excellent place to start exploring all the major sites of Rome. Quiet environment to come back to at the end of the day. Easy access to walk, take a tram or metro. Restaurants, local shops, gym, parks and local life a bonus in appreciating the daily life of Romans.

"Walls made out of paper!"
Stefan T, 08 Mars 2016

Impossible to sleep, there was almost no noise cancellation towards the busy road outside. Not only that, you could hear EVERYTHING the neighbors in the rooms on both sides were doing. This includes talking, laughing, opening a soda, burping and having sex. Breakfast was poor as well.

"A faultless stay"
RachelinAdliswil, 29 Février 2016

We came for the Rugby. The hotel is excellently situated for the Stadio Olimpico. There were plenty of restaurants locally. Public transport into the centre of Rome was easy, and relatively cheap. We had two rooms, One was a very spacious, the other one wasn't so. But they were both clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a feast - fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, eggs, yoghurts, four sorts of croissants, cakes and various other things. We arrived promptly for breakfast on the Sunday and the croissants were still warm! The hotel is part of an old building, and the staircase is lovely. We would stay there again.

"Grazier mille"
Claire H, 29 Février 2016

Thank you to all of the team for looking after our group of 10. We arrived on Saturday lunchtime for the rugby and were able to check in to our rooms earlier than our 2pm check-in. Again we were delighted to have access to a room after a very wet day in Rome before our flight home. Great hospitality - thank you

"Clean and comfortable"
Brian P, 27 Février 2016

This hotel is clean and comfortable and the breakfast room has a good view over the river. Rooms are on the small side but modern and have all you need. The hotel has no restaurant but this is Rome and everyone eats out. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would have liked some public rooms but I found none apart from the lobby.

"Great Few Days and Rugby Too!"
Steve_n_Alwen, 17 Février 2016

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms were nicely finished with good facilities. A mini-bar of free soft drinks, water and snacks was replenished every day. The breakfast on floor 5 was self-service continental style and was good with plaenty of bread, pastries, coffee, juice etc. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the Stadio Olympico, where the rugby international was held between Italy and Engalnd. The location was perfect for this venue as it was a 20-25 minute walk away, which took the stress out of finding our way to the Stadium on match day. To get to "downtown" Rome, you can catch the tram from the platform a short walk from the hotel or get a taxi. All-in-all a very pleasant hotel.

"Amazing "
Sam 1, 01 Janvier 2016

Hotel was lovely and clean it was beautiful and and the veiw was amazing the bedroom was comfortable and the food was nice to. Would go back and recommend anyone to stay in this hotel when visting rome.

"To Rome for one night to walk and see xmas lights."
thirdcoastyachts, 18 Décembre 2015

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and this time were disappointed. Seems like since they have become affiliated with Best Western the bottom line is king. The reception was cordial, the location is great, but the room left much to be desired. It was very small even though we had selected a larger room looking out over the city. But what really got us was (1) the pillows bore an uncanny resemblance to sacks of cement, making it hard to get comfortable, much less the sore ears, and (2) only vaguely warm water in the shower!!! Breakfast room is too small but breakfast is ok. Not worth 120 euros. Find a nice B&B in trastevere.

"Nice view a good value for Money"
Stefano E, 16 Novembre 2015

Nice building, very decent rooms and nice bathrooms, recently renovated with taste. The breakfast rooms / terrace offers a fantastic view over the Tiber and Rome skyline. The is no restaurant and unfortunately no bar to hang out late night (for a last drink or tea/coffee).

"Perfect for couples on a romantic break"
theBeanteam, 07 Novembre 2015

I highly recommend this place for twenty-somethings looking for a clean, secure place to reside when not discovering the truly awesome city of Rome. The staff are ridiculously polite and more than happy to help (We miss you Giancarlo!). The location is just out of the central city but if you don't mind a 10 minute walk it's fine. Highly recommend checking out Piazza del Popolo during the day (amazing shops and city atmosphere), and Trastevere at night (romance/pizza!).

"Perfect choice for travelers to Rome."
Panagiotis M, 04 Novembre 2015

Perfect location, nice neighborhood, clean rooms. Close to tram and then Metro Flaminio, quick access to Olimpico. Overall 5/5 for 3 stars hotel. Actually should be 4*. If breakfast can be improved the hotel will be top.

"Nice Hotel Pick your room."
Dante P, 02 Novembre 2015

Hotel Astrid is a well intended place. Nice staff. Location is not central but you can take the 2 line to Flammina, (Piazza del Popolo} which is a Metro stop and you are off to the races. The district is residential but has decent restaurants and grocery stores. Worst cab ride is 15 Euros from remote parts of Rome. Biggest Caveat is Rome choice smallest room offers view of the Tiber. Really offers a noisy room over a 4 lane highway. Really noisy all night long with motorcycles and car traffic. They have better.Book a courtyard room. Breakfast is good but so so by Rome standards. No delightful extras.

"Rome Tour"
John C, 31 Octobre 2015

Stayed here so we could visit Vatican City, and Colosseum one day, and other sites the next. Glad this was close to Vatican as it saved time, Staff here was very helpful, answered all our questions, spoke good English. Very clean room and quaint. Shower was small but spotless. Pleaseant surprise!

"Mini break"
319Suzanne, 23 Octobre 2015

We were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and all the staff were polite and helpful especially the lady who served breakfast. The hotel is located on the tram line into the city centre which was easy and cheap to use. However, when you get off the tram you have to walk passed a park where there are lots of rough sleepers which was unnerving.

"Good Value for money"
PeterOdgaard, 19 Octobre 2015

A fine a tourist hotel located near to one of the tram routes in Rome, which gives you frequently connections to the subway system. The breakfast was very good, with a fine selection, and located on the fifth floor with a view. The first night we had some issues with a none working A/C, after a talk with the reception the next day it turned out that it is was turn off due to not high outside temperatures, but as our room was very hot and as open windows did not help, the a/c was turned on again.

"Wonderful!"
Divya S, 08 Octobre 2015

We got a great deal on the hotel! Very nice, clean and budget friendly. Everyone at desk was very friendly and helpful. They provided us with great advice on the sites we should visit and directions on how to get there. Continental breakfast every morning was good too. This hotel is outside of they city center, so it did cost us a little more to get there by taxi. But talk to your taxi driver and if you book the same car service on your way back to the airport, they will give you a discount (make sure you ask if they don't mention a discount!) It was a 15 minute walk to Piazza Del Popolo, but there is also a bus that is a two minute walk from the hotel that will take you to Piazza Del Popolo (buy bus tickets at the newspaper stand or tobacco shop). The metro is a 15 minute walk as well. We also booked a day tour to Pompeii through Viator and we left from Piazza Del Popolo, which worked out really well for us. I would definitely stay here again!

"Room was ok, bathroom had a slightly weird smell"
P P S, 19 Août 2015

Positive: -staff were always friendly and helpful: both reception and breakfast staff. Reception responded to several emails very promptly -room was clean -I enjoyed the breakfast room especially the terrace and being able to have breakfast in the sun - didn't have any problems with noise as other people seem to have had Negatives: -location: there is nothing in the neigbourhood except the MAXXI. Located along river so you could go for a run but there is really not much in terms of sights or restaurants. And yes there is the tram 2 as well as buses but it is just a bit of a pain to have to venture out for everything. Taking the tram to Piazza Del Popolo adds 15 minutes to every journey - as Ive said the room was okay and clean but my bathroom had a slightly strange smell -- I suspect it's mildew -- the hotel is not new and the ventilation might not be so good. It wasn't so awful and I was able to tolerate it--- I couldn't be bothered to complain to be honest-- perhaps if I did complain I might have been given another room-- the staff were quite nice after all-- but this smell did detract from my overall experience quite significantly. A hotel bathroom isn't supposed to smell funny.

"Good hotel near the Spanish steps."
917juliaw, 12 Août 2015

Good value hotel close to the piazza del popolo and the Spanish steps. Helpful staff, nice room, good breakfast room with a view of the Tiber river and St Paul's dome. Excellent pizza around the corner and a nice trattoria for dinner on the same street. Good public transportation nearby.

"For the price not overly impressed"
delahaye, 09 Août 2015

This is actually my second time staying here and there has been about 10yrs in between stays, although it is still a good option for a no thrills hotel near enough to central Rome it is dated and could be better. I found the rooms tired and in need of attention and also the "city view" is more of a view of the next building with the Vatican in the far far distance which is very noisy at night even with the shutters closed. Breakfast is okay but simple and the dining area is cramped and not very inspiring. It is clean and has everything you need but more suited if you are looking for somewhere just to sleep because it has basically no facilities and located on the 4th floor of a mixed use building so it is not stand alone, this is not uncommon in Italy though. I think for a Best Western it could be much better, it isn't really walking distance from the Centre but is probably quieter and is in a very safe area of town just off Flaminia, though there isn't much around as far as food and drinks either, especially late at night or on Sundays. I would probably try some other options in future more central as I was a tourist traveling with girlfriend.

"Great place to stay in Rome"
Carole S, 16 Juillet 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights for a sightseeing weekend in Rome. The hotel looks very attractive from the outside with classical Roman architecture and it overlooks the river with the dome of St Peters basilica in the near distance. the hotel was probably larger in the past and parts of the building now have other uses but these are contained and unobtrusive. Our room was small and looked onto an inner area with windows opposite but at an angle and we didn't feel overlooked. It was extremely hot so we kept the shutters closed and the air conditioning worked well meaning that after a hot day exploring Rome we came back to a lovely cool shady room. The free mini bar with soft drinks and snacks was also very welcome. The breakfast room on the 5th floor has a lovely view and although there are no services provided up there at night it is worth going up to see the view over the city at night. The hotel staircase is also interesting being triangular and Art Deco in design. The hotel is extremely clean and well presented and all the staff are very friendly and helpful, speaking very good English. Marie, on reception was especially helpful. The hotel is situated away from the hustle of central Rome but local transport is good. A short walk around the corner is a bus stop which takes you a few stops to Flaminio where you'll find the nearest metro station and it is easy to find your way around from there. You can buy 24hr, 3 or 7 day tickets which can be used on all public transport from the paper shop kiosk between the hotel and the bus stop. The bus runs every 15 mins. If we return to Rome we would definitely stay here again.
