« Not sure if other reviewers stayed at same hotel? »

I stayed here for a conference nearby. I've been to Rome many times before, so just needed a conveniently located place. First thing that greets you is an undeniable smell of sewage or something rotten. The entire three days I was there the smell was present. Service is inconsistent - some staff were nice, but I had a severe toothache and asked someone for ice and she told me I would have to wait til the bar opened (another 5 hours). Finally, I had left something behind in my room and after two full days of calling the hotel at all hours of day and night I am yet to speak to someone, they simply don't pick up the phone. The elevator as someone else mentioned doesn't feel safe. Rooms are basic and mostly clean. Rome has many hotels with charm so there's simply no reason to stay here again.

« Best thumbs up for David from Umar Ali/ jimmy »

Me and my girl was traveling to Rome for 2 nights trip to Milton and I met this guy name David with beautiful service checking time was 14:00 and we arrive earlier so he quickly get us a room which was so great full of him and they also surprise my girlfriend with flowers and luxury breakfast in our room I'm glad I took hotel Milton so my next trip to Rome will be in this hotel regards

« Small Hotel excellent service. »

We chose this hotel for acessability to Metro (Manzoni) and tram No 3 Travestere.20 metres from front door. This hotel is 2 stops from Termini the main train station in Rome. The room was medium sized with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great with all the essentials and hot food been topped up regularly. The waiting staff were very friendly. As this is not a large hotel the decor is a bit old fashioned but fits in with the building. The Colliseum is a fifteen walk or hop on to the tram outside the hotel. The area has a few bars and restaurants in close proximity. As we were going on a cruise from Civitavecchia The no 3 tram brought us to Travestere in 30 minutes direct to train station for the port of Rome.We purchased a 3 day hop on hop off any transport in Rome for 18 euros each... single journeys cost 1.40 euros . If visiting Rome again would use this hotel again.

    « Long weekend »

We stayed for three nights. We booked for an executive suite. We were told we were given a fully renovated suite. The room was rather small for a suite, yet extremely clean and equiped with variety of american coffee, espresso and tea.The mattress was unbelievably comfortable.Breakfast is absolutely delicious and fully satisfying to all tastes.Served between 7:30-11:00.Staff is polite and willing to help with any info. The cleaning staff needs to be more careful with indications. We had placed "Please make up room" and was ignored due to some mixup. Moreover they must be more quiet while working. No laughs,or talking early in the morning. The hotel is located in a safe neighbourhood just 30 metres far from the Manzoni subway station.

    « Noisy Lift! »

We stayed in room 301 (very small) with only a staircase separating us from the lift. It sounded like someone starting a kango hammer every time it was used! The room vibrated and it was generally unpleasant. I went to reception and said I was not happy to which the front desk duty manager said, without much grace, they were fully booked (although you could still book a room online) and couldn't do anything about it. They would change me tomorrow. I had no choice as we were with friends who were further up the corridor and asked them to let me know when I could move. Nothing happened so we had another night of broken sleep! If you want to drink anything from the mini bar its out of the bottle as no glasses. No English TV in the room. The bathroom looked like it had been tiled by an electrician. On the plus side the bed and pillows were comfy which helps when you're awake half of the night! The hotel is not badly positioned as right next to the Metro and 10 minute walk from the Colloseum. However, if you go the other way you will find the local homeless alcoholics and walk through a cloud of Methylated spirit fumes. Mind you there are some nice restaurants in that direction. The hotel bar is pleasant with friendly staff and reasonably priced.

    « Excellent breakfast »

Quaint, clean, authentic and charming. You pay for what you get. A single bed room is very very small room typically with just a shower. King bed room is worth the extra fee. Fabulous memory foam mattress complimented by memory foam pillows. Davide at the front desk is excellent helpful engaging and gives you an authentic feeling that he wants you to enjoy your stay. Location is superior for the subway and overall main tourist attractions.

    « Great option! »

Excellent location! Includes breakfast !!! Delicious food! Close to the colesseum.. amazing city! Food was great, rooms were small, however it was fine. Staff were great too..... very, very good option and within budget...

« Nice interior, awful customer service »

Although the hotel was pretty nice inside, the rudeness of the staff ruined it all. First of all, we were negatively surprised that upon arrival at the hotel we were met by a very rude receptionist without any welcome, smile or greetings. Having arrived at 4-star hotel that was an absolute disappointment. Obviously, not a Best Western quality. Secondly, we intentionally booked online directly on the hotel's website as it offered more benefits (free drink, special gift, upgrade, etc.). Surprisingly, the receptionists didn't even hear about such benefits (although they were in our confirmation) so we found ourselves in a stupid situation asking for things we were supposed anyway... Plus again a very rude receptionist. Thirdly, the room we requested wasn't the one we booked. So again, another 20 minutes at the reception trying to convince the receptionist that we were right (and obviously we were because end of all we were given the room we paid for!). We also didn't have shampoo, conditioner, body cream in the bathroom although all the 4-star hotels I have been too offer such stuff. I also noticed that I was charged more for the city tax than I was supposed to pay (noticed later when I checked my bank account). Breakfast was nice and a good variety. It was served between 7.30 and 11.00. The annoying part is that food wasn't refilled properly so if you came at 10.00 almost everything was gone and when I asked staff to refill the trays I was told that I should have come earlier..... Ummmm then why do you offer breakfast until 11.00???? After a long and tiring trip this was a total disappointment. The staff should really learn at least some basic concepts of customer service. After many positive experiences with Best Western hotels I am sad to admit that this Best Western Plus hotel 8 (which is supposed to be even better) was of such a poor service.

« Perfect choice for visiting Rome + family »

We choose this hotel for its proximity to the key tourist sites of coliseum and forum - ten minute walk. Perfect. And as it has a secure gated car park (we drove in hire car from Pompei see review for Hotel Palma Pompei). Ever so friendly staff - incredibly helpful and welcoming. Fantastic choice for breakfast and quaint bar. We were pleasantly ungraded to a superior room which is always a way to impress! We were very appreciative. Good in room snacks if you need them, simple mini bar plus tea etc - spacious rooms (kids were in classic room - twin beds) and good showers. Overall cant fault this and would defo stay again. Only down side is decent evening restaurants are a cab ride - tried a few times to get into the Vechia Roma which came recommended on TA - but failed - book well ahead, its a 5 min walk from hotel. Places we ate were ok rather than excellent. Overall very pleased with choice/price/standard

« Clean Hotel with a lovely breakfast but location not fantastic »

We were a party of three staying two nightsin one room before sailing on a French Riviera Cruise. The hotel has a lovely reception area, great breakfast buffet and the staff are quite helpful and very friendly. We found the location of Best Western Plus Hotel Milton Roma not so good although the Colesseum is a short walk and there is a train across the road. My husband and I went out for a quick bite of dinner and there was little around locally. The hotel was nice but the area was limiting.

    « Nice but noisy »

Positive points: Hotel is very well located, close to Manzoni metro station, 20 min walking from Termini and Colloseo, 1 h walking to San Pietro...yes, we like to walk a lot ?? Breakfast is good in terms of variety, rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Negative points: Hotel is at intersection of 2 streets therefore rooms facing the street are noisy during the nights. I have a non sensitive sleep however i could not rest comfortably. We changed the room with one having the window on the interior garden, it was better. The biggest problem comes from the doors of the room...whenever they are opened and especiall when they close (quickly) they produce a big noise....quite a concert during morning hours as this might be good in a james bond movie if you are running from someone. In our case we came just for holidays.

« Nice Hotel close to Collosseum »

The hotel is situated on the Via E.Filiberto and the Via Manzoni. The hotel is very nice inside, Italian style, with nice furniture in the reception hall and the bar. It has a nice terrace with fountain and an outside wine bar. We stayed in a classic room; not a very large room but all comfort from a 4* hotel was inside . The bed was just great with a very good matrass and pillows; The bathroom is big enough and has everything you need, shower and bathtub are present. There is also a little desk and a nice 40 inches flat screen. The breakfast is really TOP! Hot and cold kitchen what ever you desire is available. The food is also from a very good quality; you should try the freshly made cappuccino; the staff just loves to prepare it :) The negative point for this hotel maybe can be the noise from outside especially the trams; if the room is on the outside and the windows are open you will hear them from early in the morning for sure. Off course there is airco but for the people who want to sleep without it you have to remember this. The staff is very friendly and helpful with all questions about Rome and transfers. It is ideal located for the Collosseum , only 10min. walk on the via Manzoni.

« Very good for the cost!!!! »

The hotel was very convenient, clean and roomy. The staff were very helpful and courteous. It about ten minutes by foot to the Coliseum. There are a couple good restaurants very close as well as the Metro and the tram. They have a bar and restaurant as well as breakfast on-site. Breakfast was very good. Someone mentioned that the neighborhood is unsafe, we felt safe and secure at all times. One word of advice, request a courtyard room. The rooms facing the street are noisy. We asked to move and they did so without hesitation. clearly would stay there again!!!

    « Still here »

Not sure if it is because we booked on but our room is the closest to the elevator on the 3rd floor and closest I think to the loudest intersection in Rome. Pretty much sucks. Besides that everything is great. Except the safe doesn't work and the shower is really small. Close and walkable and to a lot of cool things. Haven't eaten breakfast here but it looks good. What's that you say? I can't hear you over this this traffic. I'll let you know tomorrow if we can get any sleep.

    « Short weekend »

Location: although this was just outside the city it was a short walk from the main train station, a 15 minute walk to the collosseum and a 15 minute walk to the major streets, cafes and restaurants. For those who don't like walking there is a metro station right outside. The hotel automatically upgrades all guests to the next room up (if any are available) which is a nice touch. We were bumped up to a classic double. It wasn't the biggest but if you're spending a huge amount of time in the room you're missing out on Rome! Breakfast was fantastic. Huge cold and hot buffet that staff continue to replace right up until it stops. There is a nice outside garden bar which lets you have a wee drink just before you head out or head to bed. Simone was serving us most of our stay here; very polite and enthusiastic guy who offers lots of ideas for activities and makes a mean strawberry daquiri.

« Don't book a triple room for three adults! »

What they call a "sofabed" is actually a child's cot.. so be aware of this when making your reservation. When you get there and see the small cot, it's too late and they will tell you that they have nothing better. Room is average..nothing special but is OK. Shower leaks all over the floor and you have to use your towels to mop up (but this is common in Italy). Breakfast was very good. Location is across the street from a Metro stop, very handy, but we did not care for the area around the hotel. We'll look for another place next time.

« Good Hotel close to Colosseum »

Hotel was conveniently placed next to a Metro station and just 15 minutes walk from the Colosseum. Down side is that the location is away from city restaurants. There are a few nearby with limited menus but some offered wholesome home made dishes. The room was small but immaculately clean. We got a room at the back of the hotel so no problem with road noise. Breakfast had a tremendous choice of dishes. We would return to this hotel and can recommend it.

    « Great stay »

I changed accomodation to here at the last minute and stayed for 4 nights. The room was very comfortable and clean and i slept so well. The staff especially the bar staff were excellent and the breakfasts were the best i have had with a very large selection. It was about a 15 minute walk down to the collesseum although there were trams and buses outside the hotel. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

« Good location for exploring Rome »

Hotel is well-placed for exploring Rome. Metro is basically outside the front door, and Colosseum a short walk up the road. Room was well-appointed but extremely small, although I was in a single room. Breakfast was a good spread. Only issue was the early morning noise from the trams going past from about 05h00 every morning.

« One night in Rome »

Had a problem with booking company agoda!! not confirming my booking for over 3 hours had to pay using cash out of pocket. Very annoyed with trip advisor. The hotel was great enjoyable very helpful staff would stay there again.

« Nice local hotel, though a bit noisy »

Nice enough hotel, about 20 mins from the colessium. Bit noisy in the standard rooms as it faces the street and the trams run very often, with a screeching as the wheels cross the lines. Be warned, we booked through the trip advisor website, which highlights €0 further to pay and all taxes and fees included. But when we arrived, the hotel were quick to point out there was a €6 per day, per person to obviously someone is wrong.....but we can't find out who. Will make us use an affiliated booking agent in future and check the hotel reviews a bit more in the future,

    « AVOID! Don't waste your money! »

This hotel is not 4 star and there is nothing plus about it! Booked an executive room as wanted a bath after the flight. Bath had bits left in it and the shower is awkward. The room was dingy and didn't feel clean. Was really disappointed we spent £150 a night when all our Airbnbs the rest of the holiday were far nicer than this place. Please don't waste your money!

« Good location, well priced rooms »

We booked a 7 night package deal online. We were disappointed to find upon arrival they had over booked and for our first night we had been moved to their sister property across the road, BW President. At first we were upset, however they transferred all our luggage while we started sightseeing, so upon return we headed up to the room, next day they transferred everything back to BW Milton so wasn't that much of an inconvenience. The checkin was quick and front line staff polite and welcoming. Our room was smaller than we had hoped for, but was certainly adequate for our stay. Housekeeping service was good, complimentary tea and coffee supplied each day and mini bar available for purchase. The location was across the road from the metro, which was easy to navigate and allowed us to travel all over the city. It was a 15min walk to the ancient city sights of the colosseum and forum areas. Although saying that, some days we struggled walking back in the heat, so we opted for the tram which stopped at the front of the hotel. Across the road we discovered a lovely eatery which was reasonably priced for a quick food stop. A gelato stop was a couple of doors down, also very good. The supermarket was about 10mins walk, and the historical landmarks of the basilica Santa Maria Maggiore & San Giovanni in Laterano a short walk as well. There is a garden bar, but we were so busy being out sightseeing and too tired in the evenings to enjoy this beautiful area. There is a restaurant right next door (bistro al 123) which was a wonderful meal, and good for tired feet. There is also other restaurants close by if needed. Location was perfect for us.

    « Excellent Quality »

The service was excellent, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was a delicious feast. The room, however had an unpleasant odor. They use some sort of chemical to reduce allergens. Maybe that's what the smell was. The toilet in our room was too close to the bathroom door, so you couldn't put the lid down or it would keep the door from closing. I'd stay here again though.

    « Loved our stay! »

This hotel is 10 min walk from the coliseum, which is basically the center of everything there. Great breakfast, very clean and beautiful rooms. We were very pleased with out stay :) The staff was very useful and nice (even helped with luggage on arrival day)

« Double charge.. No clear explanation about that »

This hotel is excellent in terms of location and food. But, the hotel double charged me for stay. Even though a hotel employee promised to refund after checking and verifying the payment, I couldn't get refund from the hotel until now after one month.. The hotel just talked to me that they are checking the payment.. I cannot understand the handling of this matter.. I am very unpleasant with the altitude of this hotel and never visit this hotel again.

« Great location for visiting all the sites of Rome with the bonus of secure private parking »

Very comfortable hotel, with well appointed rooms and the A Line Metro just across the road making travelling to all the sites super easy. The garden bar is lovely, an oasis of calm after a long day sightseeing and Simone the barman is exceptional - very professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. Well done Simone, you are first class!

« Stay for the great bed and excellent buffet breakfast! »

My 4 night stay here was excellent. It is a 2 stop subway (metro) ride from Roma Termini and very easy to locate when you get out of the subway (metro). We stayed in a Classic room. The room itself was a little small, but the beds they provide make up for it. It is like sleeping in your own bed - very comfortable! They have both memory foam and down pillows in our room, which was quite shocking. The shower was decent although it can get slippery - due to the fact that you're standing in a tub with the showerhead in the top middle of the tub with no shower curtains around. The breakfast was excellent. They provide fresh fruits, a lot of meat (pork and others), a variety of vegetables, pastry, and if you're up to it - a juicer for fresh orange juice. Overall, great stay and would highly recommend.

    « Highly recommend. »

Our stay was wonderful. We spent 5 nights. Found it to be central enough to transport. Walking distance to colosseum. Rooms we very comfortable. Beds were lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Corner stores close by. We felt very safe. Would highly recommend.

« Great value, good location, fab staff »

Stayed here for short break with my teenage son 5th to 8th August. This was my second stay, and I would return again. If you're considering the Milton for a short break then I'd recommend on basis of convenience (right by Manzoni Metro), value for money (I paid under 60 Euro per night for twin room with breakfast) via advance booking and overall quality of stay/accommodation. Twin room was big enough to cope with us, beds comfy, clean and made up daily with fresh towels. Bathroom was fine although bathtub needed replacing as was a bit battered and looked like the plumber had dropped his hammer and tool box in there at some point given the cracks! No noise complaints. Breakfast decent, if uninspiring, but no complaints, plenty of cold meat, cheese, cereal, but fruit was hit and miss. Staff excellent. Apologies to front desk for not getting name, but young slim guy with glasses made excellent recommendations for dinner (Locanda Rigatoni for fab pizza and pasta at excellent prices) and Hostaria Isidoro for a lovely steak and wine. Best recommendation though was for G Fassi for Gelato - a real throwback of a place. An old fashion ice cream "palace" I could visit every day for the rest of my life... 15-20 min walk to Coliseum Plenty of convenience stores etc near by. Not bang in the centre, which I prefer and to be honest for the price I can't see how you could top this place.

« Excellent hotel, highly recommended »

We really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western hotel. Staff is extremely polite and helpful, and the hotel is very close to the Coliseum (1.4 km) and right at the metro station (entrance just across the street). Our first room was a bit noisy because of the tramway but the staff kindly put us in another room two days later (waiting for availability), with a room upgrade (bigger room). Breakfast is included in the price of the room, and is very complete with eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, juices, fruits, cheese, home-made bread, etc... Highly recommended - we will stay at this same hotel if we have the chance to go back to Rome in the future!

« Best stay at Best Western Plus Milton Roma »

Stayed here for 7 nights, lovely hotel, very clean with all amenities and great breakfast with lots of choice. Metro just across the road so easy to get around. Staff were always helpful and courteous, particularly the barman Florestano and his colleague Simone, always friendly and courteous, made you feel very welcome and produced some wonderful cocktails. The garden/patio with bar was lovely and relaxing to sit in during the evening especially after a lot of walking. Definitely would recommend to stay here.

    « Excellent Position »

Staff were extremely helpful, rooms excellent, satellite TV, but who needs it! Excellent position Metro and bus stop outside the hotel, Colosseum 15 minutes walk as are many other sights and churches. Serves only breakfast but a great variety between hot and cold choices. Does have a bar with a goodly variety of drinks. Highly recommend this hotel.

    « Wonderful stay »

We stayed here from August 3, 2016 to August 6, 2016. It was overall a great experience. Front desk staff was very helpful and quick to respond to my query. Got help from them with my printing and scanning requirements. Ambience of Bar is amazing, they got inside and garden seating arrangements. Close to Manzino Underground, walking distance from many attractions like colosseum and others. Best part is its location, 10 minutes taxi ride from Roma Termini station. One can get value for money.

    « Good for a short break »

We have been here 3 nights. It is in a good location if you don't mind a bit of walking. Its about 15 minutes from colleseum. Rooms are comfortable. Nice outside terrace. It is on 2 main roads but the traffic noise isn't obvious. Close to some nice restaurant for eating.

« Comfortable rooms with breakfast included. »

During our Europe trip to London, Paris, and Rome this hotel had the biggest rooms and best breakfast. Before our daily tours we ate breakfast with everything a Western might want with an European flare. The patio/bar is great for evening or nights after a long day of site seeing. Transportation very close, across the street.

« Great location and fabulous staff »

This hotel is right next to the metro for easy travel to the colosseum and the Vatican. The rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast is perfect for a quick start to the day. The best thing about this hotel is the courtyard bar, Simone the waiter makes the best peach bellini's - thanks for a great stay!

    « Unhelpful staff »

Was a shame the Staff were unhelpful and rude. The hotel breakfast is good and hotel rooms are quite nice. We stayed here for a family holiday for 5 nights The location is ok if you're happy to travel by train. Overall I think the hotel is ok but could be much much better if the staff were a little more helpful.

    « Nice stay »

Goog breakfast, buffet style. AC worked well. Located very near tram stop and underground stop ( the red line), it was easy to go around the city. Our classic room was small but clean. Bed and pillows were confortable. Staff was friendly and helpfull. We could come back, if we one day visit Roma again.

« Great location. Nice hotel »

Stayed here with my wife for a few days while touring Italy. Room was more spacious than expected. Quite modern as well. The breakfasts were very very filling with lots of variety. The location was fantastic as we were no more than a 10 min walk from the Colosseum. Staff were just OK for the most part. Nothing terrible, just disinterested.

« Great location and comfy stay »

Nice place to stay. Near to train station and most places walkable. We were there for one night and the reception staff were really helpful in helping us the plan our night out. Corporate in its feel as there are more atmospheric boutique style hotels nearby. Super cafe nearby with scrummy pizza slices and lovely owner.

    « Reasonable hotel...shame about their morals »

This hotel was booked for the Rome leg of an Italy tour that my girlfriend and I were on beginning of July. It was a leg we were very much looking forward to considering our very positive experience pf Italy so far.The hotel itself is not situated in a particularity nice looking part of Rome but has a good location close to the Colosseum and good local transport connections. We checked into the hotel which was pleasant enough itself and were enjoying a few drinks in the garden/bar area where they have a happy hour (which turned out not to be so happy as we were overcharged) when we received a call from home telling us their was a family emergency and that we needed to fly home straight away. I immediately went to reception where the very helpful receptionist who could clearly tell we were in distress was very helpful in helping us find a flight home and arrange for a taxi. Once our bags were packed, I went to to check out and settle the bill for that night at least when the receptionist indicated there was no need and we would not be charged. On returning home, where this emergency turned into a direct family member passing away, I discovered that the hotel had charged us for all three nights. I contacted whom the reservation was made through to arrange a refund only to be informed that the manager had rejected this request and the charge for all three nights would stand, contrary to what we was told at the time. Whilst I could understand the decision to charge us for one night, I find it outrageous that they would charge us for the following two nights, particular since they are able to use this room for another booking. I can think of no possible reason or justification for this charge to stand. I find the situation both disgusting and unacceptable, and I seriously question the morals of the management of the hotel. This is not the behaviour I would expect from a hotel affiliated with the Best Western brand whose own values include integrity and fairness. I intend to submit a complaint to Best Western and leave the same review on We intend to return to Rome to finish our Italy trip and this is most certainly not a hotel we will consider ourselves or recommend to others.

« Excellent Quality Hotel near Colluseum »

Good 4-star quality rooms. Best part was the outdoor lounge/garden area. We'd split many of bottles of Chianti (usually only 14 euro!) and chat with Florenstano & Simone, who we're excellent barkeeps!

    « Great location and A/C »

Metro station right across the street. 2 stops to Termini station which will take you to other cities such as Venice and Florence. Most of the staff speak English and are very helpful. If you have a chance have a couple of drinks at the terrace, is very lovely, drinks are great and bartender Flo is so accommodating. Breakfast buffet is very nice: fruit, cereals, eggs, fresh squeezed oj, pastries and more. Unfortunately it opens at 7:30 am, it would be better if it started at 6:30 if you have an early flight or tour. Rooms are small and updated. Water pressure is very good and A/C as well. Rome is very hot in summer; believe me you need a good air conditioning system which is not standard in Rome. There is a sandwich shop next to train station that opens early and food is very good and reasonably priced. Overall is a good value. 10 minutes walk to Colosseum.

« Good location ok for price »

Otel has a good location it is just opposite to metro station. Otel building is old but this is common for all Roma hotels. We had a problem with shower during our stay because the water pressure is low. Breakfast was good. Usually we Turkish people eat lots of kinds at breakfasts and the hotel's breakfast satisfied us. Nice and clean hotel considering price/performance it is average

    « Nice place »

Really nice guy checked us in and gave us a map circling routes to attractions, good restaurants etc. couldn't check in until two but they minded our bags for us. Within walking distance of collesseum, literally across the road from manzoni metro, two stops from termini. We had taken a taxi from termini as we were unsure of location but definitely no need. Lovely spacious room, free wifi, gorgeous outdoor garden bar with lovely great cocktails. Will recommend

« Good but not great »

This is a good hotel but is by no means 4 star (it is 3). Location is not very central. Breakfast is good with a variety of options. It was an ok stay - wouldn't be rushing back. Not sure why trip advisor notes a fitness centre (unless running up and down the stairs counts)

« Good Hotel, Unfriendly staff »

The location of the hotel is good, walking distance from the Colosseo, but the front desk and breakfast staff is really rude and impolite. Nobody smiles and treats you like trash. Not just to us, to everybody. No exception. It's a shame. Hope they can reach Best Western's standards some day.

    « Nice hotel »

Nice hotel which is located just beside the metro and tram lines that provide easy access to the city centre. It has a boutique hotel feel about it. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Rooms are of a standard size and are modern. Would recommend.

« Best Western Plus Milton Roma »

Excellent Hotel... It has the feeling of a more boutique hotel. Our room was oversized, I always need a King size bed . My husband is 6'6" and the Mattress and Linens were very luxurious and comfortable. Mini bar , Large screen TV with every channel you would ever want in many language options, felt like home.... We could order room service but went to a great Italian restaurant down the road Excellent !! There are many options close by ... The trains are just down the street 1/2 block away takes you any where in Rome ... 10 minutes from major highlights of Rome. I asked for a quiet room I was on ground floor right outside the Garden... It was shady beautiful no noise extra room for luggage it was a really great deal. Bathroom was roomy with every amenity. Bidet and shower ... It was missing a bathtub but over all super clean 5 star .... Breakfast was included ... wonderful choices real food not processed eggs and junk breakfast a real Hearty Buffet ... to get you off on your Rome adventures... Beautiful Breakfast room not a crowed lounge ... a real restaurant with servers and multiple choices for every diet... Take my word for it ... Im not easily impressed ... It was a great night!

« When I am in Rome this is my home! »

I am a returning client of this hotel and I always book at this hotel whenever I am in Rome. I am writing in English because the majority of my readers are international. What I like the most of this hotel is the fact that the rooms are all recently renewed with a top quality mattress, belonging to the top quality new generation types. This amazing mattress will make you feel so comfortable that you would never want to go out of your bed. :) I love this hotel because it is very comfortable, elegant, central, in front of a metro station (Manzoni) and totally renewed. Also, you can eat very genuine and good food either inside or in the bistro next to it. Furthermore, I love the professionality and kindness of the people working at this hotel. I find all the front desk people and the bar team very gentle and kind, especially Antonio, Massimo and Daniele, and all the breakfast team! The hotel has a new amazing patio with a Paris style garden. Amazing! You should see it and enjoy a nice drink there. I really would like to thank everyone there, especially the front-desk team and the barman, who helped me a lot, and made my work easier. I had to work all night and I had to do some copies and pdf scanned copies. They helped me with the pdf scanned copies and made my work comfortable. I was able to finish everything on time. THANK YOU, THANK YOU Daniele, Antonio and Massimo. I can't wait to come back and see all of you!!! I would recommend everyone in Rome, to try this hotel and especially the double room type. Ciao, Simona

« Close to train station »

This place is right next to the station which was good 7 Euro for a day pass. Davide did try to send us to his restaurant the first night we went on our own the second night the food was ok but I wouldn't rave over it. The room was ok the pillows a bit hard. I didnt like that you have to line up at the nescafe bar to get your drink in the morning. Breakfast could be improved by the staff offering pots of coffee or tea. There is a laundromat about 50 my up the road which was good 15 euros for a big bag better value than the hotel

« Noisy & bad air conditioning : Could not sleep »

Most of the rooms are facing the road and the windows are not sound proof. There is continous noise of screeching trams & vehicles. Noise is so bad that noone can sleep. Also the air conditioning in the hotel is set to a temprature which does not provide the comfort you expect from a good hotel. I had a bad night and could not sleep ruining my whole vacation.

« Wonderful hotel in a great location. »

Room was fabulous, employees outstanding, especially our new friend Davide! The hotel is located very close to the Colosseum and other attractions in Rome, as well as wonderful restaurants. Also, right across from a subway station.

« Small rooms, good location. »

Clean hotel, good breakfasts, helpful staff. Noisy location, so go for rooms at the back, away from the busy roads and tram noise. City tax at €6 per head per night was a bit of a shock. Rome isn't the romantic place of yore - it's covered in graffiti and crowds everywhere, with litter problems and badly damaged roads.

« Good Servce - Value for Money »

The Hotel is in a good location with easy access to the attractions. 10 Minutes walk to the Colosseum. There is a metro stop outside the hotel which is very useful. Use the A line for most attractions and only takes 15 minutes to the Vatican. However there is a metro every 3 minutes but they are very busy and you're most likely to stand. The wife was lucky and managed to get a seat. Its cost €1.50 to the Vatican. The Hotel is very clean and staff are tentative, especially Antonio. Room service daily, clean towels bedding etc. Mini bar and hot drinks available in the room, however you have to keep asking for milk as the Italians are not keen on milk in their coffee. The Breakfast is plenty full, very good range for all. The hotel advertises a small evening menu but disappointing that some of the dishes were not available. There is a small court yard at the rear of the hotel which is a nice space with a bar and sometimes entertainment in the height of the summer. It was a special anniversary for us and I arranged with the hotel to organise flowers and wine in the room for our arrival. This was very nice... But no cork screw...

    « Nothing special »

Checked in late one evening and requested a place for dinner. We were sent down the road to what seemed to be their go to Resturant. We were sat outside in the stingiest part of Rome! Didn't have a great meal. Not pleasant start. Room was clean and tidy. Not much space to set your luggage out and hallway is not well lit. You can't really see where to place the card to enter your room. Bathroom included a bidet which isn't really necessary and wasted valuable space. Shower was very small. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7, first day was very average. Service was lacking no glasses for juice and very slow to refill hot food. Second day we had to check out early and thought we would have breaky prior to leaving only to be told It doesn't start til 7:30. When we were checking out the attendant answered a phone call and spoke in Italian whilst we were making payment for the bed tax. (Be aware tax is charged additional to the room fee... No idea why as it leaves a bad taste in your mouth! Why not just include it in your room price). We needed to leave for a flight and had to Wait 5 mins for the attendant to finish off the phone and hand us our receipt. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. It is close to the metro but the metro doesn't cater to many locations in Rome. It was overpriced and service was poor. I'm sure there are more options for Rome Accommodations that I will be trying in the future.

« Great location, nice place to stay »

We traveled to Rome by train and for us this was the perfect location to stay. The motel is situated about 10 mins walk from the Colosseum and right across the road from the Rome subway which provided handy access to the rest of the city. There are several restaurants close by which offer a good variety of food for reasonable prices. The rooms are small yet extremely clean and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. There is a lovely outdoor garden courtyard which is perfect for having a relaxing afternoon drink or coffee after a big day of sightseeing.

« An enjoyable pre-cruise stay in Rome »

Stayed for three nights in this hotel prior to a Med. cruise. The hotel is ideal for it's close proximity to metro/tram/bus for visiting all the sights Rome has to offer. The Colosseum is just a twenty minute walk away.We had two rooms booked which were very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was o.k. with a good selection of food. Prices for some drinks at the bar were expensive. There is an outside bar in the hotel which ideal for smokers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good base to see the sights.

« Solo Widower Enjoying Italy »

Had an excellent time. Breakfast was a full breakfast, not your typical American continental which was a good thing! Staff are all attentive and caring, guiding directions and being very accommodating. Cocktail lounge was a great place to wind down after a long day through out the city. Made a new friend - great staff making fab drinks. I would come again if I had the opportunity.

« Great location, lovely holiday! »

Hotel Milton Roma was a lovely stay, with friendly staff and good location at a reasonable price too! Getting there: Very easy, don't waste money on a cab! Cabs will cost around €50 from Fuimiancio, but you can easily get the train and metro! The train station is connected to the airport and you get the Leonardo Express to Termini (the main train station in Rome) for €14 each and from there the tubes are connected and you then get the tube for €1.50 to Manzoni for just 2 stops and the hotel is just across the road from this metro! (Literally!) Rooms: although very small they were nice, the bed wasn't the comfiest but not the worst either, pillows are rock solid so perhaps bring your own if that's going to be a problem. Bathroom was nice. No air con although the windows open and that gave us a sufficient breeze to keep us cool at night although a little noisy outside.. (Wear earplugs maybe if this is going to affect you?) mosquitos are around and come in when the window is open at night so perhaps bring the mozzie spray. Hotel: lovely staff, the garden bar was pretty at night with cocktails and wine/beer on the menu, reasonably priced. Breakfast buffet was good..not amazing but I am a fussy eater! There was a variety of choice although not much hot food. Location: a 10 minute walk to the right brings you to the Colosseum, and right opposite the hotel is the Manzoni metro station which goes all over Rome and very easy to get! There is not much around the hotel even around the colosseum a few bars and restaurants, you can eat dinner overlooking the colosseum for a reasonable price here which we did once but the other times we got the tube into the main areas. Recommendations: Get skip the queue tickets in advance for The Colosseum and the Vatican or you will be queuing for hours! (Booked online in advance is cheaper than buying from the street sellers when there). Visit the Trastevere for a nice evening dinner and drinks at a reasonable price and a lovely Italian atmosphere! There is a bar called bar Si Castelo which served €1.50 Peroni's and €3 mini bottles of prosecco.. So cheap! And an uber back to the hotel from here only costs €18, as the train station is a bit of a walk. If you look around the back streets you will find the cheaper more authentic Italian restaurants but don't go too cheap.. Some bring the food out within minutes which makes you wonder if it's microwaved.. Although it doesn't taste bad! There are water fountains everywhere on the streets which supply cold drinkable water so you only need to buy one bottle and keep refilling! All in all a lovely holiday to Rome and great hotel location :)

    « Great location! »

Great location!! The hotel is close to colloseum and forum Romanum, and the Metro stops just outside the hotel. Some Good restaurants can be found in the area. The breakfast is very good and the staff at the front desk are nice and helpfull! :)

    « Room charades. »

On arrival we had to spend first night in another hotel as rooms were damaged with heavy rain, second night the room that we were given had Ants in the bathroom which they attempted to exterminate but reappeared that meant another room change. After we spent 2 days in Naples we returned to be given possibly the noisiest room in the hotel On a plus side the staff were very nice and they did try there best.

    « Good location »

Location good as walkable to colosseum and opposite manzoni metro to reach north of centre, also on bus routes to reach Vatican. Hotel clean and comfortable, friendly staff and good breakfast. Rooms are small and a challenge for storage space, shower was hot and good but not angled well over bath so room flooded every time shower used, it was adjustable nozzle but there was no good position for it. Very comfortable king size bed and pillows. Would hesitate to stay here again only because of noise, we were near the lift which was very noisy I think due to hydraulics noise. Also could hear everyone going past in corridor, shower from room above and also we were overlooking courtyard which has a late night bar, loud music and chatter from guests. Not enough soundproofi g in rooms. Also lack of decent restaurants in area.

« Nice stay, close to the sightseeings »

This hotel is located in the city center of Rome, close to Colosseum, Roman Forum &Palatine Hill. You can even walk to these sight seeing or you can take the metro. Metro station is next the hotel also. Breakfast is nice, you can find pretty good selection of breakfast items. I can fully recommend this hotel.

« Good location and good breakfast.. »

The location is in walking distance to most of the attractions. It also has an immediate access to the metro station. The rooms are nice, not too big but also not too small, the bed is comfortable, but the bathroom would need some renewal.. the water is leacking out of the bathtub and the floor is getting wet all over when taking a shower, and the toilets also look not clean due to the fur.. but it was still a pleasant stay..

    « A little Gem »

Our first time in Rome. Our hotel across road from Manzoni Metro so we had access to all of Rome. Metro very easy to use. Hotel gave up an upgrade which was lovely. The room was big by European standards. Very clean. Breakfast buffet was one of the best for a smaller hotel I have ever seen. Everything you needed to set you up for a big sight seeing day. All staff friendly and helpful. Garden bar was delightful after a long day. Will recommend to our Australian friends and would stay there again.

« Affordable, nice and easy place just outside the centre of Rome »

Stayed for 2 nights with my partner in a private bungalow. was nice and simple, had your own bathroom. (only negative thing I can say about it was the heating didn't work as it got quite cold, but that was probably us not knowing how to operate the heater). Restaurant, bar and pool for chilled days with a supermarket across the road and a shuttle bus into and out of Rome all day. we missed the bus back one night so we took the Metro straight back to the camping ground from Cipro. Public transport was really easy to use! Loved our stay here and would definitely stay again.

    « Just appalling »

It is only thanks to the manager Diego that I have only the remotest sense of thanks for the appalling way in which I and my travelling companion were treated here. Having prepaid for our room 6 months earlier we were told that there was no room available to us. The option to stay at the wonderful Eurostar St John (across the road and see next review) for one night was not possible due to work commitments the next day so we insisted on a complete transfer for the stay. Diego rescued the hapless and patronising receptionist by surging maturity and recognising that the hotel had not only fallen short but failed completely to deliver a pre paid product.

« nicely located for visiting Rome »

The hotel is located right next to the metro and within good walking distance to the colloseum. Nice breakfast and quiet courtyard to enjoy a evening cocktail. Friendly staff. Room was small but functional.

« Well located, but noisy »

Milton is well situated near metro station Manzoni, and on walking distance of Colosseum, Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano. The rooms are well managed, but rather smallish. The real backdrop is the street noise: situated at a well visited cross road and near one of the main entrances to Rome. Ask for an inner courtyard room. Also beware of rooms collecting bathroom drains. An unexpectedly wealthy breakfast buffet compensates.

    « Close to colosseum »

Friendly hotel with traditional decoration, good breakfast and 10 minute walk from colosseum. Metro and tram stops right outside. Room was small but enough for a city break, lift abit like the tower of terror but all in all a pleasant stay. Would perhaps have stayed nearer the Trevi as this seems to be where more restaurants and bars are.

    « Pleasant stay »

We were staying in this hotel for a few days. The hotel it self was nice and clean, the room was spacious, well furnished with a comfy bed and all necessary amenities. Good location, nice breakfast, good value for money. Would definitely come back again...

« Dodgy area and unhelpful staff »

The hotel itself was fine. Clean, nice rooms and a nice outdoor bar in the courtyard with an attentive bar man. Breakfast was nice and walkable to all the main tourism areas. But I wouldn't stay here again as we were walking back from dinner and at night the surrounding areas didn't feel safe. We were proved right as two guys came up to us with a map who were quick to pickpocket my boyfriend. We actually noticed in time and asked them to give it back, they gave the wallet back but no cash and threatened us so we just left it. Unfortunately on return to hotel (where we were shaken up) the receptionist didn't seem bothered at all. She didn't seem shocked which made me think it happens a lot and didn't offer to call the police for us or anything. Doesn't make me want to return to Rome and definitely not this hotel.

« Home away from Home »

We stayed in the VIP room. The room was nice but different than the US. However, the customer service was OUTSTANDING!! The front desk, the bartender, and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It really made our trip. The hotel is very convenient to sightseeing with the TRAM and the METRO right outside the door. Felt very safe walking around at night. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Long weekend »

Spent 4 nights in the Milton hotel for an extended weekend all in all good hotel room on the small side but done the job,,all the amenities needed tea coffee replenished dailey, hairdryer shower gel shampoo...TV only bbc news if that's your thing rest all italion channels...great we garden at rear serving drinks and snacks with the friendliest bar man iv had the pleasure of meeting...little shop literally out side the front door to the left around the corner, to the right 10 min walk straight road your at the air con till the summer big negative as you hav to keep windows open and it's one noisey city all night long..big tip bring the most comfortable pair of shoes you own you will def need them..nearly forgot very tasty healthy breakfast every morn...

« Unwelcoming staff and very noisy bedroom on a 1st night »

We stayed here for a week. Service: It was the first hotel ever that made me feel so unwelcome. The only nice and friendly staff was a room cleaning staff! I think they should work at the reception. Room: I didn't sleep on a first night as our room was so noisy! Unbelievable! They should not put guests in those rooms. You can hear loudly every track and tram on the street all night. I live in a big city so Im used to the city noise but this was way to loud! Because of my sleepless night i was very tried next day and didn't do much sightseeing. Day wasted. We were moved to a room facing a car parking which was small but very quiet. Thank god!! So I score a sleep quality s "poor" as depending on a room it may be terrible or very good.Very clean. WiFi available in rooms. Location: 15 min walk to the Colloseaum and next to the metro station which is very handy. There is a very good restaurant/ Bistro on the side of the hotel's building with great food and friendly service :).We went few times there. You can buy amazing Italian food products in a shop opposite the hotel. Metro tip: have a change ready for tickets. If you have a 20 or 50 Euro note you cant buy anything!! Breakfast: Very good breakfast. I loved freshly squeezed orange juice every day! Good selection of everything ( cheese, meats, cereals, fresh fruit etc)

    « 4 day stay »

Great hotel, we had booked executive rooms , good size, great shower, traffic noise not too bad, breakfast very good, lovely courtyard where we relaxed in the evenings with a few glasses of chianti, would stay there again

    « Never again »

Wasn't bad enough that the A/C is not turned on til later in season and room on top floor is hot, stuffy but windows only opened an inch. Then no ice available until bar opens after 5 and you get only get 4 oz glass full. Don't get street room as noise is horrible, police station around corner so sirens all night and vibrations, noise from Metro which runs under hotel. Did not have good night's sleep entire time. No porters to help with luggage. Breakfast ok, but had better. Only bright side was nice size room. Will not be staying here again.

    « Friends »

Small old hotel with very small elevator which is slow. Average breakfast. The room is clean but small. Its attraction is its nearness to mtr. There are shops and restaurant nearby. The front desk were not very helpful. There is internet but it is very slow.

« Good hotel with some quirks »

This was our first visit to Rome and this hotel was great as it was in a good location. 10-15min walk to Colosseum and under 10min walk to Termini. Also it is right next door to the Metro A line Mazoni stop. It allowed us to walk or take the Metro to visit all the main tourist sights we wanted to see with no difficulties. There are a few really good authentic pizzeria's near this hotel too and local stores for bottles of water for your room. This hotel also has a lovely garden bar in a courtyard setting and the bar tender was extremely helpful. It's perfect for an aperitif. In the morning you have a Buffett breakfast and the selection is great and really sets you up for the day. It's also only €30-€45 Euros to either airport - Ciampino is closest if like us you where tired at the end of your holiday and fancy getting a taxi. We walked EVERYWHERE and got in the major tourist sights so again this hotel was perfect as it was really just a place we used to sleep, wash and feel safe to leave our belongings. It ticked every box. If we had intended to spend a lot of time in this hotel then I'd be disappointed. The beds are comfy enough but not UK/US Best Western standard. The bathroom shower leaked all over the floor but we just put an extra towel down which did the job. The classic rooms are small and our air conditioning unit didn't work. This was fine as it was only 25C/77F during the day so at night we just slept with the window open (I'm not a lover of bugs so don't worry there was none that came in) I think I'd of made a fuss if it was during Summer. I noticed the smell in the lobby that a few of the other reviews noted but it wasn't really overpowering or that bad and you couldn't smell it in either of the bars of breakfast area so in my opinion no big deal. If we came to Rome again and planned to be as active I'd stay here as I felt very safe. If I wanted to spend a lot of time relaxing in my hotel room I'd either upgrade the room or find another hotel. Remember as this is a 4 star hotel you need to pay city tax per persons per night on top of your bill. It's currently €6. On a side note there is another Best Western over the road called The President and it has football games on in their bar... This is if you are travelling with a football lover like I was!

    « Not realy a 4 star hotel »

+ Location near metro manzoni and 10 min walk to coloseum Staff very nice and friendly Breakfast The garden- sadly it was closed - Very noisy- the elevator ; when the tram passed the whole bed was vibrating The room was small The bathroom had many things needed to be changed Conclusion : need improvements for a 4 star hotel

« Near colosseum with private car park »

I choose this hotel because the hotel has a private car park which requires a parking fee and advanced booking. I picked up the car from airport and drove to the hotel. Then I walk to colosseum which is 15 minutes walk from hotel. The room is small but decent and clean, comfortable to a couple. Checking is easy and breakfast is good!

« Good position and lovely hotel »

Right next to the Manzoni metro station is this hotel. Excellent friendly staff who were so helpful throughout my whole stay. Big breakfast, good connection to the internet, and for a single room, it was a bed and a half size so nice and spacious. Stafff arranged for me to have tea and coffee making facilities. Good connection to metro, tram and just a short walk to the Colossuem and St Larenzo cathedral.

    « Very pleasant stay »

Hotel offers good rooms: good shower, very comfy beds, good breakfast buffet, international tv channels, nice classic look. It is a little off centre, but with lots of transportation just outside the hotel: metro, buses, trams. These will take you to all attractions in no time at all. The colosseum is a ten minute walk. Absolute plus of the neighbourhood: it is quiet and it offers much cheaper (and better) food, coffee and drinks. There are lots of good restaurants and coffee bars within walking distance. Wifi in the hotel is free and very good. Rooms are clean.

« Great location bad smell! »

The hotel is in a great location close to metro and colleseum. I would not rate the hotel as 4 star more like 2+ or 3 our room said executive on the door but seemed pretty standard to me. Bed was comfy room was clean, coffee and milk were not replenished everyday. The smell on the ground floor is bad and really let's the place down. Not a bad stay just lacked a bit of finese.

    « Great 4 star hotel. »

Fantastic hotel, very reasonably priced. 10 minute walk to the Coliseum. 15 minutes on the metro to Vatican City. Very friendly atmosphere. The staff were brilliant with both David (reception) and Marco (bar) very accommodating. When returning to Rome, I will stay here.

    « Great Location »

What a great Hotel this is. We got here in the evening and booked in. Our room was small but fine. The toilet had running water all night, so thought we would sort it out in the morning. In the morning we thought we would have a cup of coffee in our room before breakfast, but there was nowhere to plug the kettle in, unless you carried over the other side of the room( well 6feet away) We called reception and they sent a man up, who looked in vain for a plug socket near the kettle. He could not find one and said they had moved the room around. After breakfast we were told that we will be moved to another room because of the toilet fault. We were moved to the Executive room, and that was very nice indeed. About 2 times bigger that our last room and space to walk about. We went and saw our friends room and compared to our first room it was clear they put us in a single box room, so glad the toilet had a fault, so we were moved. The hotel is right opposite a tube station, Tram and bus stop. Great location, local shops and good eateries. The hotel breakfast is good and plenty. If we come back to Rome we would come back here for sure.

« Solid hotel in a good location »

Solid hotel. Location is superb, 20mins walk from the colosseum. Breakfast included is tasty and has a good range. Rooms are clean is a bit basic (especially had two twins stuck together as a double, which kept separating). Good value for money given location. Not sure it is a truly 4 star venue in my opinion though. Also worth noting (as in all hotels in Rome) there is a city tax of €6 per person per night, not included in the rate stated which you will have to pay on departure

« There is a problem with the drains »

The hotel is in a good location beside the metro, so easy to get around. The reception is friendly enough. But the big problem for me was that there was a bad smell from drains which the hotel tries to cover with airfreshner - the whole ground floor smells quite bad. There is no seating area except a few chairs opposite reception and a very very small bar area - all on the ground floor in the 'smell' zone. The bedroom was ok but a bit small. The breakfast really lacked healthy options - a bit of fruit - but limited -the cereal was all sweet processed stuff and the scrambled eggs were too undercooked and runny for me to consider - there were boiled eggs - the rest was fat (cheese and processed meat) or carbohydrate - loads of sweet options if you like that kind of thing All in all - I did not think this hotel was a good option for the price

« Great location nice stay »

The hotel is in a great location just moments away from the Colosseum and the heart of the city. The room was okay but a bit noise and it was facing to the main road. Breakfast had a decent variety and quality.

« First stop of our honeymoon :-( »

This hotel was horrible, room was substandard, staff were unhelpful, this is rated as 4 star I disagree the bald gentlemen was very rude and unhelpful, thankfully the latter part of our honeymoon was in sorrento the hotel we stayed in was the Bristol, staff were incredible and food was amazing, the hotel in the Milton was unsatisfactory and unhelpful and judging from the photos from their website,it is not what we got, from our point of view this was our first stop on our honeymoon at this hotel, in my opinion my honeymoon started in sorrento, hotel milton was a disaster avoid it like the plague I look forward to someone contacting me about my disappointment.

« A good tourist hotel with a convenient location and great value »

This hotel had a great location and a moderate price. It was an easy walk to St. John Lateran for that sight and to catch hop on hop off tourist buses. Our tour bus for a day trip to Orvieto and Assisi picked up and returned us to the door of the hotel. The Manzoni underground Metro station was across the street. Taxi service was quick and easy. The hotel itself was comfortable and included a wonderful free breakfast. Front desk staff, support staff, and breakfast room staff were all customer friendly, helpful, and spoke English. When I left my Nikon camera in the breakfast room, they retrieved it and had it waiting for me to claim. The neighborhood had a number of convenience stores that stocked a good supply of wines and other beverages. We also found low and moderately priced restaurants nearby.

« Lovely hotel, very convenient location. »

Very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Near train station and with the Metro station just outside the door this was very handy. Would definitely stay here again if we returned. Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard for less disturbance from the road. Has very fast fibre optic wifi. People who are confused and feel they are being ripped off about the added money on checking out should read the hotel price description more carefully because it's there in black & white when you are choosing your Room Type. It's the added city tax (6 euros per night per person) which you have to pay in most capital cities in Europe. There are some reports of an unusual odour in the lift corridor at ground floor level, the hotel do their best to eliminate this but they are battling against city drainage which historically is ancient. It doesn't affect the restaurant or rooms so didn't bother us at all.

    « Good »

Good hotel, personel helpfull, breakfast was ok, Minus not so quiet to sleep and not so clean in the room. Plus near center and Metro, and Coloseum. Good public comunication, and clouse was good restaurant and caffe.

« Great position for exploring Rome »

Walked the city of Rome from this hotel and when tired caught the metro from across the road. Both lines accessible. Awesome little family restaurant around the corner. Rooms clean and breakfast was a huge buffet with plenty to choose from. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Ok »

Hotel room and hotel very clean. Getting a response from reception sometimes is impossible - spent 20 mins trying to get reception tonight - probably because they seem to spend most of their time outside of the building smoking . In the end I walked down to reception, although I probably could have traveled around the world before getting an answer

« Nice option for exploring Rome »

Overall the hotel is excellent! The staff is friendly, the breakfast is very good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Also the rooms are quite big for being Rome such an expensive city in acomodation. Nevertheless I didn't liked the location that much. Don't get me wrong, everything is close! The Colisseum is a short walk, the metro is just accross the street and Termini is close as well. But it is located in the corner of two very busy streets and as stated before, over the metro. We stayed in a room that does not faces the street so it was quiet but you could feel some vibrations when a Tram passed by late at night or the metro was running. If you're not used to that it may scare you when you're sleeping. At night the neightborhood looks a bit scary, is not well lit in the streets around the hotel but I think is particularly safe anyways. That is my feeling anyways, may not be objective; despite that I would definitely stay here again!

    « Very good hotel! »

This hotel is a great choice. It is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. It is conveniently located right beside the metro station and only a 10 min walk from the colluseum. There are a few nice restaurants around the area but it is a quieter neighbourhood. The only fault I have is that the rooms were very hot and we had to keep opening the Windows. There is no air conditioning in the rooms which would be especially inconvenient in the summer. There was also a sewerage type smell in the hallway as you walk to the elevator on the ground floor. Breakfast had a great selection of fruit, cakes, meats and cheeses. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would go back again. ?

Really nice hotel but the do not disturb sign is useless. Staff entered my room twice with sign on door. On Christmas Eve went to get gelato down the street with my daughter and noticed on Christmas morning getting ready to go to mass my wallet was gone. Staff told me to report it to police which I did. Never heard a word about it from management..guess they weren't informed. I saved two years for this trip add it was a gift to my daughter for her 18TH Birthday, high school graduation and Christmas. Merry Christmas to us and the person who got my wallet. There wasn't much money or ID in it just the point. The Michael Kors wallet was a present from my daughter.

« Best hotel stay ever! »

We spent here 4 nights in the beginning of January. Very good location, metro station on the other side of the street, close to Termini and only about 10 minutes walk to Colosseum. Room was clean, peaceful and nice. Great breakfast! Very good restaurants nearby. Friendly staff and Marco the bartender especially deserves to be mentioned. He was very helpful, knows all there is to know about Rome, fun to talk to and a very good bartender! Thank You Marco!!!

    « Superb »

Everything was nice.Big room, comfortable bed.Big smart tv.Pieceful place.Good breakfast. Nice people. Roma is the unexpected!i don' t know what else. Many monuments to visit. Not only in the historical centre, but also in Trastevere.

    « Enjoy your stay »

Well, its an awesome hotel! whatever you are looking for ,its in here ! Clean rooms everyday ,amazing breakfast that you ll be full for the rest of the day ! from just bread and marmalade to cakes fruits and sweats !Amazing stuff ,friendly and helpful ! Just a step and you are in Manzoni metro station and 10 to 15 mins walking to Colloseum ! Excellent choice ! I definitely recommend it and I wont look for another hotel next time I visit Rome !

    « Great Stay »

This hotel is located a 10-15 minute walk from the Colosseum and from there you can catch the hop on hop off buses or simply continue to walk to the other attractions. Their prices are great for a hotel in downtown Rome. The full breakfast was excellent with many items and drinks to choose from. The staff is efficient however are not the most friendly in the planet. Overall I give this hotel a solid 8 out of 10 just because the staff needs to be friendlier and the parking costs you 20 euro a nigh, but overall it was great stay. I would recommended to friends and families.

    « Great stay for 3 days »

Great location, food and staff. The locations is within a 10 minute walk to to Collessium and we found out on our last day there that the train station is across the street. Definitely make use of the public transportation as it goes everywhere and is very cheap. The breakfast which is free is also great. More than your typical european breakfast and the hours were great. The staff was also very friendly and spoke great english and were very helpful. Good price too and would definitely stay again.

    « Weekend Break »

We stayed here for two nights over a weekend break and it was nice. The hotel is easily accessible by the metro and in walking distance to the Colosseum. The young man who checked us in was really helpful with directions and recommendations on where to eat etc. The double rooms are quiet small with only a single bed for both of us and were pushed together. The only low point was the bar. We wanted to order from the bar on our last night as did other couples but we waited over 30 mins before we got served as there was no bar man and there was no manager available it seemed. We only waited because we didn't want to go out.

« Stay at BW Plus Hotel Milton Roma »

The hotel is convenient to the Metro and within easy walking distance to the Coliseum and other sites in Rome. The staff was very difficult to work with and went out of their way to try to deny us using our Best Western Travel Card even though we had called the hotel ahead of time. I will not stay at this hotel again because of the lack of cooperation from the staff.

« Good hotel for a short stay »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and found it offering adequate services for a short stay. The staff was helpful and though some difficulties arose due to the language barrier, most of our queries were solved. The Ac was leaking on the very first day but it was attended to efficiently. The breakfast offered a lot of items but there was little variety or change on the next two days. The only problem we found was the passage leading to the main lobby had a slop with much chance of slipping if one is not careful. Location of the hotel is quite close to the Roma Termini, the main train station, about 10 minutes walk but not easy if you have a bit of luggage with you. A underground metro station is just across the street so it has connectivity with other places of interest in the historic roman city. Since the hotel is located at an intersection of two busy roads, it can be quite noisy during the day time. But all in all, a good place to stay while visiting Rome.

« No help from managment for stolen luggage »

We stayed at this hotel in June 2015. After storing our luggage in hotel lobby and told it was safe we went to lunch as our room was not ready. When we returned one of bags was missing. It contained all of our electronic gear. The manager said they were insured and we would be contacted by the insurance company. As of today 11-13-15 we have no response from them. I have emailed the manager several times and he doesn't respond either. This hotel should not be used by anyone. There were no security cameras, and the staff was very indifferent to out problem. People who were there all had complaints about the A/C and that the hotel was understaffed .This was a disaster for our trip and not getting any help was unbelievable. By the way Best Western was absolutely no help, and neither was the local police. There are no security cameras anywhere in this place. It is a thief's heaven.

    « excellent location!!!!!! »

Excellent customer service, breakfast and location ever!!!! what else can you ask for it.The breakfast is very good with a great selection and fresh juices every day and you can choose from hot to cold meals. the front desk employees are very helpful and friendly and also speak english which helped us a great deal with directions and places to visit.

    « Excellent location »

When I was booking up I was worried about finding a hotel with good location, this one turned out perfect. Its on the same street as the colosseum (approx. 15 minute walk but you can't get lost and lots of ice cream shops on the way) and you can get the tour buses from here. Then for everything else, there is a train station literally outside the front door and that takes you to anywhere in Rome. The train is very easy to use and is cheap. The room was nice and the hotel staff were excellent. The only downsides for me were the breakfast and the 3rd bed in the room was very poor. I went with my girlfriend and my mother so to accommodate us to the one room they squeezed in an extra bed and it was of very poor quality but the two standard beds were great. As for the breakfast, i am probably being unfair, it had about 100 choices of food, just nothing really to my taste, the hot food wasn't very nice and i dont like cold food for breakfast. Overall the hotel was clean, nice, friendly and the location was great so i couldnt ask for more. I would definately stay there again if i went back to Rome. Very last thing, I would recommend that you go to Rome for no longer than 2 days unless you are crazy about seeing 1000 different chapels. Lovely place but the whole thing can be explored in 2 days.

« Nice hotel and friendly staff »

I spent a couple of nights here at the end of a business trip to take in the sights of Rome. I was thrilled to find that we were on the same street as The Coloseum and was only a 10 minute walk. However, we were quite far removed from everything else I wanted to see eg: Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and The Vatican. The beauty was that Manzoni train station is directly across the road and takes you within walking distance from all of the above. There are very few restaurants nearby so if you go out at night you will need to find a train station or get a cab. The hotel itself was very nice with a decent breakfast, well presented rooms but average bathrooms. I was lucky to get more than a dribble out of the shower but found this a problem elsewhere in Italy.

« We expected more for this price »

The hotel is located 100 meters from the subway station and the breakfast is really good. The room is small and there is not too muchos space. Al de they dont replace amenities and the cleaning service un the room is really bad, we found two towels with red stains, bad experience. Our shower leaked and every day our bathroom was flooded. For this price there should be better options in Rome

« Amazing Hotel Workers and Lovely Rooms!! »

My husband and I visited Rome, Florence and Venice this October (2015) and the Hotel Milton Roma was by far the best. The employees working the front desk were so kind! (REMEMBER - if you want respect you must give it!) My husband and I will stay here if and when we ever go back to Rome.

« Close to Metro and great breakfast »

We stayed for 4 nights and was very easy to get to by metro, which is right across the street. Not touristy, which was great and very close to Church of St Giovanni and the Sacred Steps ( a must to see). Very comfortable rooms and very nice breakfast. would stay again.

    « Good hotel ,reasonable price,good location »

Stayed here for four nights. Room although not massive ,was ideal on the first floor and away from any traffic noise. Clean and comfortable ,ideal as we were out for the most of the day. Very good choice for breakfast. Metro across the road and gets very crowded in the mornings, Easy walk towards the collosium and a quick coffee on the way at Topside café , 4 euros for 2 latte. Tram station only yards away from hotel entrance. take the no 3 tram which goes past the collosium to Circus Maximus where Rosso restaurant does an excellent evening buffet meal , including a beer, for 10 euro. Would use this hotel again

« Nice breakfast, great outdoor bar area with great service »

This hotel is located just 10 minutes (walk) from the Coliseum. The breakfast that is included in the room price is fabulous. And, the outdoor bar area is wonderful (especially if Marco is at your service.) But, the overall hotel is very small. And, the standard rooms are incredibly small. Good hotel, but definitely pay more money for a larger room.

    « Opertunistic and cruel »

Arrived today only to be told my booking was canceled by e-mail 3 days ago. Checked e-mail. Cancellation e-mail was sent and recived 00:08 (midnight today!) Failed to contact me or check if my credit card details were correct with I had updated my details back in March. They said they tried to access my account before my stay even though this booking was surposed to be without a deposit. They refused to accept responsibility for their actions and blamed everything on the website. They should have downloaded the updated credit card details. They did not offer an alternative hotel stay. They have probably taken an expensive last minute booking and dumped a family of 3 on the sidewalk. Shameful behaviour.

« Perfect place located at heart of the city..! »

Rooms and staff response was great. Hotel being at walkable distance from Colosseum and other important Tourist places in the Rome you could save lot of time and money for your city site seeing. But do remember that hotel fee includes only for free breakfast/day, but not dinner (which is common in many hotels). Please note that there is no complimentary water bottle placed in room and each costs 2?. Of course situation is same with almost all hotels in Rome. The open top Garden bar in the hotel is quite good attraction and perfect place to have a perfect time with your loved one or with friends while having a sip of wine and Pizza.

    « Rome city break »

Hotel ideally placed next to Manzoni metro station so easy to get about. 10 min walk to Colosseum. Staff friendly and helpful esp Rosario at reception as well as Victor and Marco .Housekeeping lady pleasant too. The breakfast was great. Sets you up for the day. Room a little small but spotlessly clean and daily maid service was very good.. Drinks at the bar a bit pricey

« Wonderful 3 night stay, sad to leave! »

This hotel is wonderful. Stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. It is right beside the Metro line at Manzoni, which is extremely handy as it is only 2 stops down from the main termini station. It is impeccably clean and the staff are very very friendly and offer any assistance or advice should you need it. You're welcomed with a cool refreshing drink upon arrival, which if it is on the warmer side, is a lovely touch. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the bathroom is well equipped, even with hairdryers. There is an in room safe. The rooms are styled in typical roman style décor with the rich warm colours of the gold's and greens. The breakfast is served from 7.30 to 10.30 every morning, which is handy should you over sleep. The selection of breakfast options is exceptional; there is enough to cater for any nationality, want and desire. They offer free WiFi throughout the hotel which is great to help you stay in touch with home. This was a wonderful stay, to which we will be back.

    « Great hotel!!! »

Stayed there twice during the past 3 years. When I returned ro Rome it was obvious that I'm going to stay here again! The rooms are spacious, very cleen and beautiful. Beds comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely great and delicious. The staff was always helpful and graciously answered any question we had. The location is great- ther's a metro station located just in front of the hotel entrance, and a ten minute walk will get you to the Colloseum and some great restaurants. Great hotel, I recommend it very much!!!

« Nice hotel, shame about the reception staff. »

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a touring group, the hotel itself has a pleasant interior, the reception area, bar, terrace bar are all attractive areas of the hotel, the room we stayed in was fine, it was clean and reasonably spacious and everything worked fine, we were on the 3rd floor at the side of the hotel, the street below could be noisy especially at rush hour but Rome is a noisy chaotic place so its to be expected. The bar staff Victor and Marco were very accommodating and friendly and are a credit to the hotel, unfortunately this can not be said about the reception staff who frankly couldn't care less! Several room for our group were wrong ie one married couple were booked into single rooms!!! no preparation was made for our arrival so our tour manager had to do their job, there were not enough porters available to bring bags to our rooms despite being paid in advance for their services so most guests came back down to get their own bags, our tour manager had asked reception to arrange taxis for us all to go to a restaurant but this wasn't done so we were all left clogging up reception for nearly half an hour while they attempted to find taxis for us all. Although the Metro is opposite the hotel they had no idea whether it was running or not following a closure the previous day. The hotel has a resident parrot which comes out as an attraction during the day, I think the parrot would do a better job if placed behind the reception desk! The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the Coliseum so is a good starting point for a walk into the city, the area around the hotel is ok but caution would be needed if venturing too far. Wi Fi reception was good! Breakfast was very good and was never crowded during our time there. So as a base for a stay in Rome it is fine but is let down badly by certain members of staff

« Not bad but take earplugs »

Yes rooms are noisy particuLarly if you prefer to sleep with a window open as we did (air con didn't seem v efficient but to be honest we didn't try too hard to alter it or complain as we arrived too late to want to do anything but sleep). Room was small but adequate. Very good shower and all in decent state of repair. Bit low on shampoo conditioner etc. breakfast pretty good. Coffee not brilliant. Staff all pleasant.

    « Average Hotel »

Pretty average hotel, we chose the Classic Room, which was cramped and not much to write home about, decor was very tired and parts of the bedroom wall needed plastered and repainted. The bathroom was okay but the shower head seemed to have a mind of its own. Breakfast was buffet style and could get quite busy, dishes holding the hot food were not replenished quickly enough, and often could get quite cold, location was good, right beside the metro station which was good for getting to and from the different sites of Rome.

    « Very Good hotel »

Nice hotel, the patio is beautiful and the waiter is very friendly and made great drinks, location is great. Breakfast is great. Rooms are neat and spacious. Subway is across street. I will recommend this hotel and will stay there again

    « Not a 4 star hotel...poor breakfast loud noise from street »

Starting with the hotel ranking of 4 stars...not a chance. Nice lobby and ok rooms but definitely not 4 stars. We stayed in 2 different rooms during our stay. First room was right at the corner near the metro. Every time the street car turned down the street it shook the room and was loud all night long. The bathroom floods and there is obvious water damage. When we first got to the room the carpet was soaked from the last people flooding the bathroom and the walls were peeling paint. Our first room looked nothing like the pictures online. We booked through and the hotel claims to have "soundproof" rooms...this is absolutely not true. You can here everything both outside and in the hallways. The breakfast at first glance looks nice but it is horrible. The hot food is all cold and the juice is all room temperature. The eggs were a weird orange color and very runny. They had pieces of shell cooked into it as if the cook couldn't care less. After contacting we were told we could change rooms due to the issues in our room. I called the front desk at 1130am and was told I had to wait until after 2 to change rooms. When we returned in the afternoon at 245pm I was told it was too late to switch rooms...what a mess. We got a new room and it was away from the street so it was quieter. The second room was definitely better although the air conditioning was not very good and the mugs in the room were dirty still wet with lipstick...would not stay here again and I do not recommend for anyone staying more than 1 night...we stayed 3
