A good hotel to explore Rome. The service from staff, the cleaning and the breakfast was really good! The hotel is not in the very center but fairly close, and in a very real and non touristy part of town which I really liked. The room was small and cramped with only one window to the back, but if you're out and about exploring Rome you hopefully don't have to spend too much time there. The cleaning was spotless and the breakfast was very good. I wish there would have been at least one decent movie channel in English on TV.

It was our first time in Rome. The room was clean and comfortable. The reception was helpful and the bar staff were friendly. The hotel is very close to the Colosseum, walking distance and you can catch the Metro or get a Taxi to other parts of Rome easily. Good food in the resturant and breakfast area.

Within walking distance to the Colosseum and right next door to a metro station for attractions further afield. There is a restaurant on site and also a couple of other restaurants within a few yards.

A fantastic stay at this clean, modern, and budget-friendly hotel, just a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and Forum as well as Termini Train Station (or 5 minute metro ride to the station, metro is just outside the hotel). Rooms were impeccably clean and well-serviced; the breakfast (14 euro/person) had an excellent selection of pastries (fine, though could be tastier), cheeses, eggs, coffees, juices, and more. Complementary coffee and pastries and fruit/melon infused water during the day was lovely. The small gym had a few treadmills and other machines and well-maintained free weights. Special thanks to Alessandra, who volunteered to make a reservation for dinner one evening when our original reservation cancelled on us--we so appreciated it. The other staff were incredibly helpful and patient. The only drawback I'd share is that it was a far walk (30-45 minutes) from other sites of interest like the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon, and the charming restaurants and stores in the Piazza Navona or Campo di Fiori vicinities (or Trastevere across the river). That said, the metro is right outside and it's a very quick 10 min ride)to the Spanish Steps (20 min to the stops near the Vatican) or a 15-20 min bus ride to Campo di Fiori--you're just not in the thick of things as you would be closer in. That said, I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

This hotel has so much to offer, great location (Metro outside front door), great staff and food, and nicely appointed rooms… but these same rooms have absolutely no soundproofing between them (paper thin walls!!). This is such a shame, but when paying for a room, one expects privacy and to be able to use the room without worry of noise from or being a nuisance to other guests. We mentioned this issue to the reception, who said they were aware, and currently updating their rooms to overcome the issue. So, if you are staying here, make sure you request a room on floors 1-5, and not 6 or 7. We were disappointed that having mentioned it, the staff were fairly dismissive of the issue and the impact on our stay, especially as our neighbours banged on the wall every time we wanted the TV on… we felt we couldn't relax in a room we had paid for, and so for this reason, wouldn't return or recommend this hotel - despite all the positive aspects it has to offer.

Excellent location. Adjacent to metro station. Clean and big room. Sufficient beds for my 2+2 family. Two bathrooms and two TVs. Colosseum in walking distance 10 min approximately. Staff was helpful and polite. Enjoyed my stay in Rome. Thanks Hotel President for making my stay memorable.

Clean and good hotel with reasonable rates. Very close to Metro Station and walking distance from the famous Collosio. The staff provide very good and prompt services. Breakfast is good though the menu remains the same every day. A little change at regular intervals would serve the interests of those who stay for a longer periods.

We spent 10 nights at this hotel and I am so glad we did. We stayed in a Superior King room which was roomy, very clean and very comfortable. Our room was tended to daily. All of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful no matter what our need or questions. Breakfast was so good with such a large selection, hot and cold. We had 1 issue on our 2nd to last night, but it was with other guests in the room above us who left water running all night and I woke to the sound of water in our bathroom. It was pouring through the ceiling in our bathroom from the room upstairs. We notified the front desk and they were up in minutes and took care of the issue with absolutely no inconvenience to us. The Metro station is steps outside the hotel, which takes you anywhere in Rome in no time at all. But I highly suggest wandering the area around the hotel as we found many treasures doing this. I would highly recommend this hotel for the rooms, the cleanliness, the comfort and the breakfast as well as dinner menu. The Staff were the topping on a great stay!

I hardly give bad reviews on TripAdvisor, but I make an exception for this hotel given how bad my friend and I were treated. There were two terrible occasions that we would like to bring to the hotel's management. First, when we arrived near midnight and checked in, but we sensed that the hotel security guard (older man, wearing normal clothes, sitting on the sofa next to the main entrance) were watching us intensely. As I discussed the option of my friend staying over with me (his flight was due to fly the next morning and we wanted to spend the evening together to catch-up), he came to the counter and insisted the frontdesk officer to perform for additional checks on our backgrounds by asking for details and documents such as our passports. We felt this was excessive but we complied nonetheless. The security guard uttered the words in Italian but he did not know that both of us are also fluent Italian speakers. Huge mistake, pal, we understood every single word you said. Second, when we wanted to check out from the hotel, a frontdesk officer called Jacob (tattoo, wearing an inner shirt) treated the young girls in front of us very attentively and charmingly. When our turn came to return the keys and asked for outstanding charges, he could not even bother looking at us. He even pulled faces as if our simple questions were bothersome to him. Only when we asked his details such as his name and employee number, he became alarmed and suddenly started to pay more attention to our questions. Was the lack of attention by Jacob because we were both males, or perhaps because he was prejudiced that we were not White? Based on these two incidents alone, I would not recommend others to stay at this hotel. There are many other hotels around with better hotel rooms and hopefully, they provide better customer services too.

Our luggage was lost by Lufthansa and the front desk staff was so compassionate and understanding. They gave us toothbrushes and paste to use and directions on where to get some toiletries and clothes. Special shout out to Carmen, Beatrice, and Vanessa they are the best! There are 3 choices of rooms: Economy, Comfort, and Superior. We had a comfort room. The room had a king sized bed but it took up most of the room except for a desk and a desk chair. There was also very little storage space. The bathroom was tiny. Both my wife and I are of small stature but had to “shimmy” sideways to get to the toilet or shower. The shower is the size of a phone booth. I kept bumping the faucet control and turning off the water while in the shower. The lobby is very well done, lots of seating and a bar/restaurant. The breakfast was fantastic. Although hot dishes were the same every day. But big selection of other things with lots of seating and no lines. You can have breakfast included with the room if you choose a room that includes it. Dalila checks people in to the breakfast room and she was very nice greeting people with a smile every day. Look for her in the bar later in the day. Three more things to mention, there are 2 elevators they are very small and only will hold 2 people with luggage or 4 without. With respect to the room you need to put your key card in the slot by the door or the power (all of it in the room) will go off. There is a button beside the bed to control the blind on the outside of the window!

I stayed 6nights in a single room 601. The room was great, it didn't feel small at all, it had very high ceilings which gave the feeling of added space. it had a good comfortable single bed, great shower and bathroom. The room was very quiet and I faced an inner courtyard, the window had an automated external shutter blind that was amazing, it afforded extra soundproofing and complete light blockout. My only minor complaint was the television had many channels but only 2 were in English and they were news programs, I would have liked to see at least one movie channel provided in English. The staff were friendly and helpful, all spoke English. The hotel is literally right next to the Rome Subway rail network station Manzoni.

Brilliant seconds away from underground. Clean and comfortable, good communication in English. 15 mins from colleseum walking flat. Felt safe day and evening. Shops and eateries close by. Fantastic. Room was a twin bigger than picture with ample storage.

We stayed for two nights with two teenage boys. We had two adjoining rooms with our own lockable corridor which was more like a suite. The rooms were very high standard, comfy beds, slippers, toiletries, kettle etc. Breakfast was great, they accommodated our gluten intolerance with gluten free bread, had soya milk, however did not have any dairy free spread for toast which was surprising. All the staff we met were happy, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel for a few hours when we checked out. The hotel is 30 seconds from the metro so very convenient for travelling around Rome. we did take a taxi to the train station however as we couldn't envisage trekking the metro with all our luggage. We had a few drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced. This was a two night stay prior to embarking a cruise, but although booked through an agent please be mindful that you will have to pay the room tax which we hadnt expected. All in all, we would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again when we next visit Rome.

The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was great, and there was a very good selection in the morning. The staff were very helpful, the staff that cleaned the rooms went above and beyond, tidied the room and made it all clean and tidy, can't fault them at all. Would stay here again. Close to the transport. The metro easy to use and just outside the door. Close to all the sites.

Very nice stay. Excellent customer service. We booked a family room. The room is actually two rooms, each with separate entrances that have a common entrance (lockable door) to both. Great for families with teenagers, not so good if you have kids that require more intense supervision as each sub-room has separate locks. Location is very good. 15 euro or less cab ride to most of the sights, except Vatican which is a little further. There is also a subway station right by the hotel if you prefer that. If you like walking you can also walk to the Coliseum. The only two downsides are that the elevators are very small and there are no ice machines. You need to get the ice from the bar. Overall, nice economical place to stay.

The Best Western Hotel President is in a great location, close to the subway and the Central Train station. The staff are one of the best I have experienced, caring and knowledgeable. The gym is small but has what you need for a good work out. There is an onsite restaurant and lounge/bar.Overall a great place to stay especially if you are travelling with your family.

This hotel was wonderful! Clean room, friendly and very helpful staff that spoke english (we do not speak Italian). Provided extra bed for our daughter at no extra cost. And to top it all off, the breakfast was amazing!!!!

Great location,, 1 min walk to Maroni Metro Station. Very Clean. Friendly and welcoming staff. Amazing Shower and bathroom. Nice size room with tea and coffee. Very comfortable bed. Fitness centre available.

Great hotel, food & service! Went with the family, and all the sites - Colosseum, Vatican, etc were in walking distance! Near great restaurants & food, easy to get a Taxi. 5 Stars and a Great Italian vacation!

I went on a group tour, and the hotel they booked was this hotel, and I was completely underwhelmed. For starters, the rooms were incredibly tiny. Not only that, one of the two elevators was not working. I was assigned a twin bed, and the mattress was terrible. I haven't slept in a twin bed in 30 years, even though I was in Ghana, Africa, last year, and Jamaica. The bed was very, very soft in the middle. Others in the group stated the same. Also the room walls are thin and you can hear everything on the floor and upstairs and in the adjoining rooms. One person in the next room had a cold, and I could hear every time he coughed. I asked for a larger bed and was refused. Just warning you.

This is a good option if you are on a budget and don't want to spend much on a hotel. it's very basic with small rooms. Location wise it's not the greatest neighborhood but it's right next to a metro station. Staff was helpful and breakfast was okay

Very comfortable bed, welcoming staff and clean interior. The metro was right outside the door and the Colosseum was less than a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The prices were very good and early checkin was available to us on arrival for no extra price. The staff made my partners birthday extra special by giving us cake and Prosecco to celebrate. The only downfall would have to be the lack of sound proofing in the rooms. Enjoyable experience.

I was bit hesitant prior to booking due to the very reasonable rates, but it was in the area that wanted to stay, so I took a leap of faith. The hotel is fantastic! The front desk staff upon checking in was extremely professional, yet very friendly and welcoming. I have Diamond Elite status with IHG and Gold with Hilton, so I spend many nights in really nice hotels. The service is better than most of the hotels where I've stayed this past year. The rooms are nicely furnished, the bed was a dream, free wi-Fi, an incredible breakfast buffet, heated towel racks in the bathroom….. I could go on and on, but at this point you should have a good idea that I enjoyed an amazing stay at the Best Western President Hotel! It is not the Hassler, the St. Regis or the Cavalieri, but then it's not $1,000 a night ! I certainly would stay here on a future trip and recommend to friends as well.

The hotel location is good just next to Manzoni metro station with some bus stops nearby. It is good place to stay for family with good breakfast option. They even had gluten free option. The main sights are accessible either in the walking distance or by public transport

Whilst at the hotel I left my daughter's iPad in the hotel room. I had purchased this iPad in June. She had saved her pocket money for a whole year to purchase this iPad (she is 4 years old). Due to sightseeing all day and high crime rates on the metro I decided to leave her iPad in the room. When we returned from sightseeing I noticed that the iPad had been moved from the bed to the shelf. On closer inspection I noticed the iPad now had a hairline crack in the screen that was definitely not there when we left. The iPad has a rubber child protector case. I then reported this to reception the next morning. I was told I would need to make a police report. When I attended the police station I was told the police told the police station was closed and I needed to attend the local police office. When doing this I was then told unless I reported the iPad as stolen from the hotel they could not provide me with a police report. I informed the hotel of this. I was told to come back that evening for an update. No update was then given until the next morning until I was told the hotel would not be claiming on their insurance because there was no proof that their member of staff was responsible. Well it certainly wasn't me or my daughter at the colosseum that day so I guess it was the ‘I break iPad fairies'. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend staying there as valuables such as iPads cannot be left in the room.

Just a hotel. Nothing special. Nice, pretty cheap bar. I tried couple times to pay the room in the evening, because of early departure, with no luck. Funny, first hotel you cannot pay before leaving the place. Only two slow elevators, which makes things slow...

The breakfast is good, the buffet has lots of choices. We like to eat some vegetables at breakfast. Only this hotel has the most verities such as the cucumber, tomato and lettuce. most Italy hotel breakfast don't provide vegetables.

This hotel is the best (next to the metro/subway station, 20 meters - very convenient don't have to walk several blocks compared to other Best Western Hotels in Rome so you can explore Rome city). Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. The room is comfortable (of course hotel rooms are always smaller than USA for a 4-star hotel). One thing we like the best in the room is they have the electric kettle to boil the water so we can drink hot water or coffee. Several restaurants nearby. There is a Japanese buffet (all you can eat) next to the hotel (50 meters walking - prices is very reasonable $24 dinner $17 lunch). WIFI is fast and reliable whenever we use at night between 7 PM to 11 PM. The office staffs are nice and always willing to help. Taxi from FCO airport to the hotel is $75 for 6 people including the luggage. We paid $50 per room including taxes and breakfast. We stayed from August 28 to September 1 and paid $50 per night per person including taxes and breakfast (the best hotel of Best Western in Rome for this cheapest rate).

We were 3 crew, we arrived a 2300, we asked if the next morning we can extend for one more night, the guy sayed yes, then in the morning, the other one told us that the hotel was full, it was a lie, we can book via internet.... The rooms are small and durty....not well insonorised.....the front desk is a nightmare....hotel to avoid

This hotel really saved us once our original hotel appeared to be a real mess. We arrived at the reception at 2:00 during the night and the personnel fixed a room for us for one night for only 80€ - so kind of them! The hotel was otherwise fullbooked. The room was very modern, clean and everything you expect from a hotel room. The location was great, near to the city centre and all the attractions of Rome. A metro station was located next to the hotel.

Exactly what you expect from a mid range hotel. We were 3 people in a room (1 large queen and a single bed). The room was small by North American standards but large enough to accommodate us. We were on the 5th floor and didn't hear much for street noise. Great blackout window system that allowed the room to be pitch black even past sunrise / before sunset. Good a/c that kept the room cool even through the 37 C outside temp. Bathroom shower was average, and the breakfast (although only 10 € / person was very meh with few hot entries. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout and the room and corridors were kept very clean.

We had planned a 2020 trip we had to postpone and this hotel was so amazing about giving us a voucher to use for this trip. The entire staff from the manager, front desk and bar/restaurant were so lovely and accommodating. We had a family room which was perfect with two separate sleeping rooms each with their own bathroom. It was clean and modern with good blackout shades that really gave us the rest we needed after traveling for over 13 hours. There were good local eateries within walking distance that weren't touristy at all. The rate was an incredible value. I highly recommend this hotel to get pleasantly adjusted.

Very problem with AC in the room. At times 26 degrees hot. The reception must manually change the cold. The breakfast cost 10 € and was not worth the money. Very sweet breakfast, coffee bread, white bread and coffee in a thermos were served. Much better breakfast at nearby cafe. There is also black mold in the bathroom joints.

the main metro line A has a stop right outside the hotel making it very easy to get to the main tourist attractions also there's a good cheap bakery a couple doors down which we ate breakfast at daily. the hotel staff were helpful and we were even able to check in early we were pleasantly surprised by the room, it had all the basics, was a good size and the shower was very good, good a/c good for the money only downside was bad soundproofing as we were able to hear the rooms next to us Tv or them talking but after a long day walking it was bareable

Our room is 27.1 degrees celcius (81 degrees F) and we just called the front desk to let them know we can't get our air conditioning working and they told us they have no air conditioning. I'd like to know why this is advertised as air conditioned rooms and there is NO air conditioning. Either they are lying to us now or this website is not telling the truth. I'd like a response from management on this issue. We were absolutely miserable last night and now we are going to have to spend another night in the heat....

Positives: We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. On arrival the staff member was friendly, check in was easy. We got up to our bedroom which was an OK size, bathroom was very small. Good powerful shower. The bed was very comfortable and a good size, pillows good choice. The bistro bar was lovely, good service and the margherita pizza is outstanding. Reception ordered taxis which were so quick. Breakfast is a continental display with something for everyone and great range of timings 0630-1030am. Quick and easy check out. Close enough to main attractions with metro buses outside the hotel, a taxi within minutes but I highly recommend the lime scooters to explore when the walking has become too much. Negatives: The hotel is extremely busy and doesn't have a lobby that you can relax in as it has a constant stream of people in and out. The rooms are extremely noisy. The road outside never stops and the windows and shutters don't block the sound out so sleeping was an issue. The walls are very thin so you can hear people talking and the doors constantly slamming. Unfortunately this would put me off staying here again.

We stopped for three nights to watch the rugby international. All the staff were friendly and happy to help; they even recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner. Our room was a reasonable size double with an extra bed with a good-sized bathroom and a shower bath. There is free WiFi and tea and coffee in the room; however, only coffee creamer is provided, a disaster in tea. A safe is in the wardrobe; hanging and storage space was adequate for three nights but might be small for a lengthy stay. Breakfast was an excellent continental buffet, with a wide selection of delicious pastries. There is a modern bar area next to the lobby. Drinks are not expensive, and crisps and nuts are always available on the bar free of charge. The hotel is positioned next to Metro and is only a fifteen-minute walk to the Colosseum, where the open-top, hop-on, hop-off buses stop.

This was a very convenient hotel in Rome. We were on a group tour, but when we had free time, we did a lot of walking and didn't have to take a taxi. This was the nicest hotel on our tour. We did have to open the windows to get some fresh air, but is usual for a European hotel at that time of the year. The bathroom was an adequate size for a European bathroom that includes a bidet. We were able to serve ourselves at breakfast, a nice treat.

This hotel was disappointing. We had room 722 from the 3.12-12.3.21 First the positive: +We got a quiet room as requested.The rooms are not soundproof but our floor was empty so rarely there was noise from the corridor. +breakfast was very good, many choices as well as fruits and salat. Service was good,- especially Daria was nice. +The fitness room is great and up to date. +location close to metro mazoni The NEGATIVE: Though the sizes are in fact well described in the hotels website, reality is a different picture because of the sagging matress and the headpiece which makes the bed lengh much shorter. My husbands legs (1,87 height) had no place in the bed. Having noticed the problem already when checking in we were told that we could move only from sunday on while paying an uprade of 30€ per day, which we refused. Therfor we suffered from insufficent sleep for 9 days on our vacation. + technical issues: When checking in the safe and tv first lacked batteries. The heating rack of the towels did not work.We were promised they would check, nobody came for 10 days. The bidet shower hose leaked and flooded. Air condition is too hot.You cant turn it off. The room is extremly small (15 m includeds the bathroom), uninviting, lights are dim, the window is narrow and the room lacks any paintings or prints. The hotels corridors and foyer look uninviting out of age and do not fit a 4 star hotel. Most receptionists of this hotel are polite but some are snobbish and not welcoming. We have never made bookings in the "best western" chain before and therefore can't tell wether the problems are based specifically on our room or this hotel.We hope our critic review will result in improvement of the economic rooms.

There are things I loved about this hotel and things not so great but overall for the price, it was pretty good. The hotel is not walking distance to the tourist sites so you will always be taking the metro. The metro station is just outside the door of the hotel and very easy to use. 1.50 euro each way. There are plenty of restaurants that are quite good within walking distance of the hotel. A great coffee shop next door with sandwiches and treats. Several markets and pharmacies near as well. The room was small but adequate. The rooms are cleaned daily and they do a great job. A tea kettle in the room. My room had a large window I opened up that looked out on a courtyard. I could hear the man peeing in the next room in the middle of the night and I could hear the people walking around in the room above. The breakfast is very large with hot foods. I ordered a cappuccino every morning that is included in the breakfast. I took a taxi to the hotel from the airport for50 euro set price. You can take the train but if you have much luggage I do not recommend the train. Often the escalators are out at the main train station and can be difficult to maneuver with luggage. The neighborhood of the hotel is fun. I took a day just to enjoy. There is a wonderful park near with a dog park ...fun to watch people and chat with locals. I loved the Gatsby for a happy hour (across from park). Ubers are very available and not too pricey, but most time opted for the Metro. For people going to USA, the hotel sent me to a lab for my COVID test. 60 euro and do not go there. I got there when it opened at 7 am and waited an hour. Then they made me return the next day to get my printed results so had to cancel my train ticket to a nearby town. All the pharmacies have tents....go there. 20 euro and you get results in 20 minutes. Enjoy Rome.....!!!

I stayed for three nights upon arriving to Rome, and my room on the second floor was nice enough with everything in working order. The beds were comfortable. The outside traffic can be loud at times, but that is part of the city. The location is right next to the metro stop, which was amazing for getting around Rome. When I returned for my final night to depart the next day ( after hopping to different cities), my room on the seventh floor (specifically room 704) felt more like a punishment. It was no cheaper than my original stay, but much smaller (which I could deal with) and in poor condition. The staff was really attentive in fixing a broken bathroom door handle, but there were things other than this issue - like what looked like water damage/peeing interior near the roof and a shower that was either scalding hot or ice cold. Additionally, the shower was so small that you hit your elbows while trying to move around. The room did, however, have a balcony. The property itself is in a great location, excellent staff, and safe. It was honestly a mostly good stay.

This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel, if I could, I would give it "-" stars. Everything is very old inside. First, we did not get the room that we payed for but we let it go. Second the noise, we stayed at the 5th floor and the noise from the traffic was so loud, even with the external shutter closed, it was like the cars were passing through the room. Also, the noise from the TV from other rooms, you can practicly hear what they say - we had to sleep with earplugs. The breakfast is extremely poor for a 4 star hotel, YES we understand the covid rules, but they could make the breakfast more diverse. We saw a table that ordered food "a la carte", but first the waiter did not tell us that this is also possible, and when we asked he said that he can't do it. And now "THE BEST THING". My wife's smart watch, Samsung Active 2, was stolen from the hotel room when we were at dinner, in the evening of 4th september. We have a photo going back to the hotel at 6 pm when my wife had the watch on her hand. We went, we changed our clothes and went to dinner. My wife did not take her watch from the room, she left it on the nightstand and when she left the room her phone vibrated and anounced her that it disconected from the watch, therefore, the WATCH WAS IN THE ROOM. When we woke up the next morning up and packed to go to Ciampino Airport, she did not find her watch. When we arrived at Ciampino, we tracked the watch via SmartThings in Rome district XI first, then at Fiumicino Airport. I called the hotel and they admitted that this could have happend because it happened before, but without a police report thay can't do anything. Unfortunately we were after passport control and in boarding when we talked to the hotel. I wrote an email to the hotel (to the hotel manager) explaining the whole incident and attached photo with my wife when si had the watch, photo details with the date and hour when it was taken and also print screens of when we tracked the watch but got no answer. We payed 98 euros for 1 night in an old, smelly and noisy hotel, and lost another 300 for the watch :( So beware for your goods because is a very big chance that you will be robbed in this hotel.

The rooms were small and the hotel is outdated but this is what one should expect in Rome. Initially the service was not great and the hotel was not very accommodating even tho we requested an early check in- but after speaking to the staff they were accommodating. I would recommend this place for the location to the subway

Booked a room for end of April 2020, when the world shut down the flights were canceled, the hotel closed and i tried to get a refund for my 7 night pre paid room. No matter what i tried (the hotel didn't even responde for two months) nothing better than a "certificated good for 1 year). Now more effects of the pandemic have impacted my personal finances and i won't be able to make it to Italy for years. The hotel continues to refund my money for a room that i could never have used since the hotel was closed. They are greedy and heartless people.

For the price we paid, it was fine. The rooms were clean, we booked a triple room. We asked for a room with a view but there was nothin much to look out. We got there early, & paid extra for early check in at 11 am There's a train station/metro station right outside. We walked to the colosseum - long walk but good to get a feel There's a coffee shop right outside So you're there but not really as its not the center

Nice hotel, the staff were exceptional on the reception. We were at the front the first night and oh the noise, it was like being next to the motorway non stop all night lorries, sirens, horns. I mentioned it and the receptionist straight away offered to move us to a quieter room at the back. We just packed our bags and when we came back after our day out it had all been moved to a room at the back of the hotel which was much better. WiFi was very good, tea tray in the room, free safe, hairdryer, toiletries, the usual! Lovely comfy beds and all very clean. The heating is controlled from reception which was a bit odd, we were far too hot the first night but they will change it to what you want. I presume the air conditioning is only on in the Summer. Sadly I have to take a mark off for the restaurant, the weather was bad so we ate there the first night and it was terrible, worst meal I've ever had in Italy and not cheap. Go to RomAntica or Bistro 133 which are both just over the road. Breakfast was included for us and was fine for me as I only have toast or yogurt. There was quite a nice selection but not so good if you're wanting a cooked breakfast. This was a different area of Rome to I've stayed before so it took me a while to get my bearings. The Colosseum is about a 20 minute walk, easy to find, it's a straight road out of the hotel but amazingly there is not one café on that road - someone missed an opportunity there!! The Metro is literally in front of the hotel doors so we used that, very easy to get to the Vatican City for a 1.50 ticket but avoid rush hour.

After travelling around Italy for 8 days this hotel was a welcome sight. The bed was like heaven, the 5 pillow selection meant a good night sleep. Our room was large, well furnished and bathroom great!

We had a great stay at the Best Western President. It was quiet and comfortable. They have wonderful room service and breakfast. They are close to restaurants and shopping. The room was a little small but that really didn't bother us. They have free WiFi. Would stay here again!

Stayed here for four nights whilst doing the sights of Rome. The room was clean spacious and had everything that you would expect, what made this hotel special was the staff they were helpful friendly attentive all round, would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here solo for a couple nights to meet family that had flown in from abroad. I would say it's more of a 3* hotel as some parts are quite dated and the amenities that are provided. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. They also provide a mobile phone for use while out so it helps for maps when out and about. The bathroom was an average size and the shower leaked a lot. The breakfast was appalling. I've never had such bad breakfast at a hotel. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

A very good stay in this comfortable hotel. The bedroom is perfect with a comfortable bed. A full breakfast with a remarkable welcome from the staff! Bravo and thumbs up to Martina.S for her service commitment and her kindness. I'll be back !

Stayed 4 nights- had 2 rooms. Slow check in - the elderly guy checking us in wasn't too interested or welcoming after we traveled for 36 hrs. Otherwise every thing else was good. Breakfast ok n enough. Location beside train station walk to colossium. Rooms clean. Aircon not cool enough so left Windows open. Free work station- computer n printer.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff were very fluent in English, ensured we did not get overcharged for taxis, kept the Caffe Lattes coming for my late afternoon requests. The bar was always open with cookies, chips and someone to serve a tired, hungry tourist. The breakfast buffet was excellent for my American tastes. It's close to the metro, safe, clean and all were so very accomodating. Thanks to the hotel for making my first trip to Italy so delightful.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Overall it was a good stay but I wouldn't say great. Some staff struggled with English which made communicating a bit tricky but we managed! and they did try their best. Room was clean but quite simple and nothing special. We liked the location as we could walk to the Colosseum in around 10 minutes and there is a metro stop outside. Enjoyed exploring Rome and thought 3 nights was just right.

I travelled with my boyfriend, securing five nights at a fantastic price. Firstly, there is the location with regard to Termini: it is further than I had expected. On previous visits to Rome, my hotels had really been just a stone's throw, but the President is a ten minute walk over quite poor quality paving, so a taxi is advisable. Walking wasn't an option anyway the night that we arrived, owing to the downpour. The location with regard to public transport is fantastic, the Manzoni underground station literally is at the door, and just around the corner there is a tram stop. The location with regard to points of interest is great also, as the Colosseum and Forum are less than a ten minute walk straight around that same corner. There is a supermarket five minutes up the Viale Manzoni. It was ten o'clock by the time that we made it to the hotel that night, and when checking in and giving the man on reception my surname I was surprised to be greeted with 'Hello Beatrice!' - it is quite a big hotel, so I was impressed! Hotels on the Continent never have bars, nevermind good ones, but the President can boast quite a respectable stop. It serves food, though admittedly a limited menu, but considering that the was nearly 11 o'clock when we came back down and the weather was such that we couldn't step outside the door, it was something that mattered. The prices were also fair. Breakfast was the only other dining that we did, and it was quite satisfactory. There is a reasonable selection of everything, with perhaps choice of cereal being the weakest aspect. You are immediately asked what type of coffee you would like, and proper ones are brought from the kitchen, you are not pumping it out of a can yourself. The bedroom that we got was one of the economy range, meaning that it was on the smaller side, but it was perfectly fine for myself and Fintan. It had a fine bathroom with a great shower, and a remarkable touch was the quality of the toiletries provided. Generally I wouldn't wash the floor with what hotels inflict, but owing to a mishap with the shampoo I had brought, I used what was there, and it was very good. The only criticism that I can make of the bathroom was that there is no doorstop by the bidet, and owing to the full length mirror on the door, that could be a potential hazard if slapped back? The room and bathroom were spotless, with fine bedclothes and towels. The entire hotel was wonderfully clean. Other reviews mention noise, but it is not something that we found to be an issue. The lifts are very small, extraordinarily so, meaning that you inevitably find yourself groaning when forced to share. We did not use the leisure facilities. The staff were all lovely, from the friendly people on reception to the helpful restaurant team to the ladies upstairs that you meet working on the rooms. Our only use of internet was fooling around on our phones, and the WiFi supported that well. BBC News and Sky News both feature as television channels. The main criticism was one evening we arrived back to find we had absolutely no warm water. It lasted some time, and we had to suffer cold showers before we headed back out again. The area is a little run down, but the hotel is a great choice in itself, and accessing all the main spots of Rome takes very, very little effort. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Stayed here as part of the package with Riveria Travel. The room was ok as was the continental breakfast, although at times it was like a cattle run. The two lifts are very small and can only accommodate 2 people and 2 cases, which is crazy. We ate in the restaurant one night but despite there only being 8/10 of us the service was very slow. We had to wait 20 mins to get a dessert menu. No choice of house red wine, only Merlot with the attitude of take it or leave it, we left it!! Service at reception was not much better, with at times a basic lack of English. Unbelievable that they had no idea what local pharmacies were open on a Sunday!! Overall there is no way that this hotel merits a four star rating. On the plus side it is only a 10min walk to the Colleseum and a 5 min walk to the Cathedral of Rome. Close to the metro and 2 really nice restaurants close by.

Booked this hotel with the help of people reviews and we were not disappointed. We stayed here from November 16 through the 22nd and it was excellent, location is very accessible to many top attractions in Rome. Breakfast was also great especially our servers CARL and Anthony, both Filipinos who are so nice, helpful, always smiling and very accommodating. We will surely recommend this hotel to our friends who might be planning to visit Rome in the future.

It was one of my favourite hotels in Rome. Long ago. This time , maybe cos i got an offer (not even that cheap for November in Rome), they put my in this minuscule room, dirty and old. Maybe not dirty, but that was the look. When i turned on the light during the night, i noticed two small red insects crawling next to me. They were small and probably no bites, but still not best roomates, right? Maybe i was unlucky, but I am not going to risk it again!

We stayed here November 11 through the 14th, 2019. We were on a pilgrimage with 34 other people. This hotel had been selected for us by the tour company. We were so pleased with the accommodations. The hotel is near a subway station and walking distance to the Coliseum and many sites. Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. So glad we stayed at this hotel.

Great hotel centrally located and 10mins walk from the Colosseum. The food and drink are moderately priced and good value for money with no hidden costs. You will get a three course meal and drink for around 30 Euros in the bar area. I only paid 16 Euros for a T bone steak. 3.5Euros for 5.1% bottle of lager as shown. Theres more of a formal menu in the hotel restaurant if you want alacarte. The room was good

Decent hotel but the walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING surrounding you!!! Busy traffic, people talking, moving, tapping, phones ringing in the hallway and from the rooms next door. All the noise makes it impossible to sleep especially if you're unfortunate enough to end up with extremely loud neighbour's like us.... Also the beds are a bit on the small side, I'm only 5'5 and my feet were hanging over the edge.

The hotel is a nice hotel has clean rooms nice staff and everything you need it just that the walls are so thin that you can hear people talk or have a shower basically you can hear everything they are doing on there rooms, the road out side is busy constantly so you hear all the traffic and the area isn't the best seem run down not the best to walk around at night so if you are looking at this hotel it's not cheap don't waste your money.

Hotel staff were all lovely and friendly particularly the lady on shift during the early day time. The lady at the desk explained all the best places to see and even circled the locations on a map for us .We arrived just after 11am hoping to drop off our luggage .We were informed we could check in early if we wanted as our room was ready.which was a nice bonus. Hotel was clean and had a good vibe and we felt safe . The bed was so comfy and a good size . We had a problem with the toilet reported it to reception and within minutes a member of staff came to resolve the issue. Can't fault the staff at all.only down side was that the bar food wasn't all the great but there's plenty of places to eat around. Bonus metro station right out side the hotel , plenty of shops a chemist within walking distance .colloisum is a 10/15 min walk away and other sights to see are a short metro ride away .would 100% stay in this hotel again. The hotel is on a main busy street which was fine during the night and we had no trouble getting to sleep.

This is a great place to stay. It is within walking distance of the Coliseum an other tourist sites. Room was great an very clean. The morning breakfast did cost 7 euros but it was worth it. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice stay here at this hotel located just a few blocks walk from the colosseum. Very comfortable bedding & thick fluffy towels. Location was perfect for walking to so many of the Historic sites. Also close to subway stop & bus line.

The hotel is located next to Manzoni subway making every attraction easily accessible through train. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast spread is amazing and front desk is superb. Thanks yo Beatrice for getting our room ready before we reached the hotel, dead tired from a 12 hour long travel. The Manet (free internet enabled phone) is a great idea and a great help. I shall definitely stay here again.

The food be it in dinner or breakfast is awesome with wide array of selection. for those rice fanatics, they serve it here. The food is very much complimented by the very accomodating and friendly satff

Best Western Hotel President, Rome Location: Very good Price: Excellent (booked it on points, can't complain but would pay if didn't have points) Service: Excellent Room: Very good The reason I am giving such a good rating is because some of the reviews of this hotels made me skeptical, but it exceeded my and my wife's expectations. It is good sometimes to set the bar a bit lower. We stayed at BW Hotel President, Rome hotel between August 31 and September 6, 2019. Location: Hotel is located 1 km away from Colosseum which is a pleasant 15-minute walk. You can take bus 51 for just 1.50 Euro per person but the walk is really enjoyable. It is 10-minute walk from St. Geovanni Cathedral which is worth visiting. Metro station (Menzani) is right outside the hotel and we took full advantage of it going to the city and saving lots of money on taxi rides. It is only 2 stops away from the city train station – Termini – and 4 stops away from Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. There is a lovely café just outside of the hotel to enjoy cappuccino in the morning. There is also gelato, take out pizza places and a few corner stores to buy drinks, wine and snacks. We arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon, checked in, walked to the Colosseum and had great dinner there. There are a lot of restaurants by the Colosseum and a 24/7 supermarket. Service: Check-in was a breeze. Front desk staff was friendly and super helpful. The hotel has a restaurant which we didn't take advantage off as we chose to eat in the city. It has a bar which is nice to relax in and have a drink. Front desk staff will provide you with a city map and will answer any questions about where to go and what to do. Room: The hotel has been upgraded. It is very clean. We had a standard room with a king size bed which was spacious. TV had a lot of channels and a few were in English. Our room had a view of a courtyard and we didn't hear any city noise. The shutters in the window were powered and could be opened or closed by pushing a button on each side of the bed or on the wall which we found very cool. The room also had USB ports to charge phones. Wi-fi is free and reliable throughout the hotel. Rooms come with a free cell phone which includes data plan and free international calling. We called our family in Canada and Europe. Having phone with data in Rome was very helpful as we used GPS and Google Maps to get around. We also spent 2 days in Florence in the middle of our stay and took the phone with us which worked out great. We could use Internet, GPS and voice calls there free of charge. We would definitely stay at the Best Western Hotel President, Rome hotel again.

We selected the Hotel President for its great location, in particular walking distance to the metro transit station and major sites in Rome. It turned out that they had to relocate us to a different hotel, the Best Western Universo. The desk staff was friendly, understood our desire for a location near transit, handled the move very quickly, provided free transportation and the Universo was excellent. Thanks to the Hotel President and Universo staff for your excellent service!

Our three-night stay in Rome was a surprise gift from our children for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and we have to admit, their choice of hotel was perfect. We could not find any fault at all. The location of the hotel meant that we could walk to all attractions. Although our room on the fifth floor faced the main road, noise was not a problem. The bed was comfortable and bedding of good quality. Towels soft and white, nice complimentary toiletries. The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. We had breakfast every morning and at 7.5 euros, it was very good value with a tasty selection of hot and cold food. Staff were polite and helpful and gave information when requested. We also used the hotel airport transfer service which we were happy with. Cost from hotel to Airport was 48 euros, airport to hotel was 55 euros. We would definitely recommend the President Hotel and return in the future.

The hotel was excellent. Friendly staff and the rooms were cleaned daily. Great location too. Would return to the hotel again and recommend to family and friends to go. The breakfast buffet each morning was good but we did not enjoy a meal we had in the restaurant. Poor service and the food wasn't very good. That was out only complaint.

We had a wonderful stay at the BW Hotel President. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff was fabulous and the morning breakfast was the best way to start the day. The hotel is literally right next to the Manzoni metro station AND just around the corner from the tram line. The location was great. Most stops to all of the major sights, were just a few stops away. You were not on the trains for too long. Thanks BWHP for making our stay in Rome even more memorable.

The staff were always polite and helpful, especially the staff in the restaurant at breakfast. There is plenty of choice for breakfast. They provide a good espresso. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only negative I would say was the lack of draw space. The housekeeping staff were great providing a good service.

This hotel was great for us location wise as it was a 15 min walk to Colloseum. Found a lovely pastry and coffee shop next door too. Room was extremely small and dark. Bed comfortable. Room had everything we needed but one of the plug sockets wasn't working. Bathroom was ok, shower very good, powerful and lovely hot water. Just overall very small room and I definitely wouldn't call this a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is in a very good location,within walking distance of the coliseum and forum.There are also a few restaurants located near by our tour guide for rivera travel marela was able to point out a few.The hotel room was comfortable and functional, the breakfast cold food choices were ok but the hot food selection was poor, and overall the service in the bar and restaurant was also quite poor. We were on a rivera travel tour, our guide throughout the week was marela who was excellent and ensured that the site seeing walks were at such a pace that everyone could keep up,but if you wanted to return to your room and relax and watch some tv after your walking tours the only english channels were either sky or bbc news.

Was on a two week trip to Italy and stayed at the Best Western President for my last two nights in Rome. Check in was a breeze, and the room was terrific, as was the bathroom. The only outlet that worked in the room was at the desk, the ones next to each side of the bed did not work. The bed was quite comfortable with high end sheets. As I said, the A/C in the room was better than all the other hotels I stayed in. One hotel turned the AC off at night! On a Saturday, was sitting in the bar area but no bartender. I went to the front desk and asked when it opened, and they said it was open, they would call a colleague. Well, the woman that came was not happy that she had to make drinks. Not sure what her issue was, but she was obviously put out that she had to come to the bar. Another couple came in after us, and she had left again and they asked for a drink as well, she displayed her displeasure when she returned a second time. Gee, sorry to put you out! The location of this hotel is not ideal. It isn't near any nice piazza, and the restaurant choices near the hotel are very limited. As my traveling companion had mobility issues, we had to eat at the hotel for dinner twice. The menu is limited, and the service is sort of funny. The waiter we had was relatively young, and almost scared to talk to customers. We ordered a bottle of wine the first night, and he opened it at the table and set it down, no tasting or pouring of the initial glass! Funny, the second night he did do the first pour. Had the pasta the first night, nothing special. Had spaghetti and meatballs the second night, better. My companion had the veal each night and enjoyed it, The vegetable soup was also good. So, food not bad, just the service is more of a person dropping food on the table. The waiter was nice but obviously jot trained. The area they serve dinner in is small and compact as well, probably about 8 tables. Bottom line? Eat dinner somewhere else! The breakfast provided was really good, it is a buffet filled with Italian ham, cheese, pastries, cereal, eggs and the Italian version of bacon. Lots of choices and perhaps better because it was a buffet? If not included in your rate, only 7.50 Euros which is a good deal for what is offered. Would I stay here again? For sure! Just be aware of the restaurant/bar service issues, this is certainly not their strong spot.

Room is pleasant enough but rather utilitarian, the bed is a queen and very comfortable. Bathroom is adequate but very little space to put ones own toiletries. Breakfast was not good the choice was poor and the execution even worse (see the attached photo of the boiled egg). Bar meal was quite good.

On our previous vacation to Italy, we stayed at the Best Western Universo (which we highly recommend) but it was booked so we reserved with a sister hotel near the metro. We are very happy with this hotel as well. The staff was very accommodating- offering to get us in our room early (as we were exhausted) for a small fee. The hotel was very nice, breakfast was wonderful and it was very convenient for getting around Italy (as it was right near the metro station. We would absolutely book this hotel again when we visit Rome.

We stayed here after a cruise for one night. They took our bags but we couldn't check in early like the Unversal Best Western. The staff was great and the room was clean however again like most rooms in Rome it was small but big enough for the 2 of us and 3 large bags. The shower was really small but it was fine, Very close to Metro. there are few english speaking channels on TV

We stayed here at the end of a tour of Italy. It is close to a tram station but little else. It is a hike to get to any activity. The food at the hotel is just ok after eating at all the other fabulous places. The room is tiny but the bathroom isn't bad. Limited towels available. I saw where it was rated 4 stars and find that hard to believe. It's ok hotel in a very quiet area. Also very dark not many lights because there isn't anything around. Worth it to check around for other places for the same money.

The only good feature of this hotel is the location which is convenient for the railway station and the Colosseum. Despite asking twice for a quiet room the one I was given, although facing the back and away from the road, was very noisy. It was next to the lift and also next to the cleaners service room both sources of noise. The room was also made for a disabled person which was not asked for and was not comfortable. A soap bar was supplied but there was no place for it in the bathroom, I was forced to use a plastic cup to hold the soap. The toilet roll holder was almost unreachable. The shower curtain was too short and a shower soaked the surrounding floor. The room was not cleaned until 4:00 pm, just when one wants to rest after having been out all day sightseeing from around 8:00 am. The result of this was that the room was only cleaned once in 4 nights stay. The bed was uncomfortable and lumpy. The minibar was useful for storing food items but there was no list of prices for any of the soft drinks or water that the hotel supplied - on asking I was told they were not free. Breakfast: lots of variety but no quality and a crowded room with not enough tables . The jugs of filter coffee looked promising but the coffee was sour and undrinkable. Had to go out for breakfast on subsequent days.

Genuinely lovely hotel Within walking distance of the metro and easy to walk to the famous Roman collesum We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar which to be truthful it's a bit soulless but the chap behind the bar was lovely and very accessible to nearby bars and restaurants

We stayed at the hotel for three nights as part of a city break. The room was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked! The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast offered plenty of choice. we ate in on our last might and the meal was very good and not overpriced (as residents we enjoyed 20% discount as we booked the table in advance). We certainly would stay there again.

The staff was friendly - which was new to us in Italy ;-) The breakfast was the only negative thing... soupy eggs, rice and hot dogs weren't really meeting our expectations. Pretty good location, but you need to plan extra time to get taxis.

Check in was fast and easy. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent! They had everything from hot, such as eggs and bacon, cold cereals, assorted pastries, spreads, meats, cheese and separate tables for children to help themselves. Coffee was made to order! Rooms were super clean, comfy with plenty of towels and toiletries.The location was great as it was right next to the subway (train) station but unfortunately it was closed during our visit for maintenance. It was an easy walk to plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area as well as churches and other tourist areas. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off for the large garbage bins on the streets that were overflowing with stinky garbage. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again!

We had a room for 4 people, it's actually like a small suite room. Clean and modern room. Very good air-conditioning, best in all our stay for this vacation trip. Two showers in the room, which is a big plus. Subway entrance is just beside the hotel and bus/tram stop right around the corner. Termini station is like 15 euro by taxi. There are restaurants right of the same block as the hotel entrance is as well as convenience store. There is a supermarket 5 to 10 minute walk away. Laundry is about one bus stop away or 15 minutes or so walk. I would stay here again if visiting Rome.

We stayed 3 nights here and it was a great hotel to explore Rome! First off, it was like the only king sized bed in Europe which was amazing! The location is close to most of the ancient monuments if you want to walk, and less than a 10 Euro cab ride if you don't want to walk. The Hotel rooms were spacious and very clean, and the staff was very helpful for getting cabs and giving suggestions as to where to eat or visit. They were also multilingual, helpful for people who only speak English. The breakfast buffet is decent, nothing exciting. If you're looking for an American style breakfast you won't find it hear. They have scrambled eggs, sausage (which I swear was just hot dogs), and bacon cooked by someone who had never cooked bacon before. The rest though was very good and catered more toward an actual Italian breakfast. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel central to the sights of the city, this is a great choice.

We stayed for 4 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We had a family room which was two rooms joined by a corridor that could be closed off. My children loved the fact they had their own space and their own bathroom. There was a mini bar which we didn't use but seemed reasonably priced. The hotel was lovely, rooms were clean and spacious. On our first night was ate at the bar and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. It was walking distance to the Colosseum and other attractions and there is a metro stop right outside for getting to the Vatican. The reception staff were helpful and sorted out our taxi to the airport on our departure day. Overall a fantastic stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean rooms. We traveled with 2 kids and got 2 separate rooms that had a separate entrance. Breakfast was very abundant with lots of healthy and indulgent options. The staff were friendly and helped us book tours.

This hotel was chosen by our tour, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. The hotel is walking distance to the Colosseum and other sites are easily accessible. We used taxies which were clean and reasonable.

We needed a place to stay in Rome that was convenient to everything and not terribly expensive. We found this wonderful gem in walking distance to the Colosseum and loved it! We had a "family room" which basically meant two rooms with their own entry way which was perfect for my kids to enjoy their own space and my husband and I to enjoy ours (each with its own bathroom!). Despite the TINY elevators, we were able to get in and out with our six plus suitcases fairly easily. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The folks at the front desk were absolutely the best. They helped us with everything from securing cabs, to giving us directions to getting us extra towels to permitting us to stay in our room an extra night at the same rate when our flight home was cancelled. They were very kind and helpful. We had a negative incident involving a cab driver closing the window on my husband's hand but it was an accident and the hotel was helpful in getting us ice and communicating with the cab driver since our Italian was minimal at best! I especially loved the offer of the "extra comfort pillows" and space for everything which is unusual at hotels in Europe. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I wish the hotel had a pool (it was in the 90s every day we were there) and the local pools all charged exorbitant fees to go, but overall it was a fabulous hotel with outstanding, helpful front desk employees. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a pleasant stay. The location of hotel is very nice - just next to metro station and within 2-3 stops away from many tourist attractions and walkable distance to Colosseum. The room was nice and comfortable as you would expect from a professional and reputed hotel chain. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast was standard on all days - huge bakery, cheese, cold cuts, eggs, juices etc. The staff were attentive and prompt. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in this hotel during August 2019, and our experience was great! the staff was very nice and helpful, specious rooms and comfortable beds, and the breakfast was also very nice. Location is great, close to any tourist attraction.

Clean, modern hotel in downtown Rome. Walking distance to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent, but it was 7.50 euros per person - we were a little surprised by this because it's included at the other Best Western Hotels we've stayed at. We stayed on the 6th floor and had a decent view of the city.

Good location to local transportation and places to eat. The bed was very comfortable and what was nice was the window had a metal shutter that blocked out all the light and noise. The staff was very helpful for finding anything we needed and even called for a ride to get us to the airport.

We checked in to the Hotel President in late June for a 3 day stay before we went on a 7 day cruise. Like many others have said the hotel location is its single best attribute. It's two stops from the main Metro/train hub: Roma Termini, and just outside the doors of the hotel there is access to trams and buses, as well as the Metro. The Colosseum could not be an easier walk, straight up the street for 15-20 minutes. The room was clean and well sized for the two of us (I think we had a superior room - queen bed with a desk and chair) and the room had a mini-fridge which was very useful. All around the hotel, within a hundred metres there were mini-markets which offered all sorts of fresh fruit and other groceries you might find useful while traveling. As the title teases there was something in the room called Manet. This was absolutely brilliant! The hotel offers a free Samsung phone, with data, for free during your stay. We loaded one of our Google accounts, used maps, google photos, and other services while we were in Rome. I cannot understate it: this service was absolutely amazing. Such a small thing, but literally invaluable. I am actually going to ask when reserving at various hotels while traveling if they offer such a service. There was a negative: the area where the hotel is located is not the cleanest, although to be honest Rome in general seems to have difficulty keeping up with the amount of trash that residents and visitors are able to produce. The hotel did seem to have an awful lot of ambulance/police traffic on the streets surrounding it.

Close to attractions, metro and bus stop. Nice breakfast, no guest laundry as advertised. Area outside of hotel has graffiti and trash but we never felt unsafe walking around the area. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Friendly helpful staff.

Check In was easy. They explained breakfast was not included but was available in the morning for a fixed cost, they shared the price. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Wanted a place to eat, devoting eat dinner at hotel. WOW was amazed at how good the food was. The food was delicious and large portions. The staff was very helpful and friendly. In the morning called a taxi for us. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

Excellent location - 20 min walk to Colosseum, termini train station, metro, bus and tram stops right next to hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice and clean rooms. Cell phone with audioguide and internet connection was available

This hotel had very friendly staff and was central to everything I wanted to see. The room was very clean and well appointed. It had everything I needed for my stay in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

I've very beautiful hotel we are very courteous staff and right outside of the metro station making it extremely convenient to go anywhere you want and use right around the corner the bus stop And even if you want to walk the Colosseum would be only 15 minutes away the breakfast buffet For the price is fantastic and of course this hotel has high standards

We stayed in this hotel during our trip in Rome. Location of this hotel is good that the metro is nearby. So convenient! We loved the reception staff as he explained well about the hotel stuff when we checked-in. Also, when we asked something else, he was patient. During the stay, we had no big problem. We only experienced the electric suspension of hotel but ran well later. Staff showed caring to us during this short period. Appreciated!

Lovely, neat, clean hotel. Literally 2min walk from the metro station. (Manzoni station) We stayed there for three nights and were able to explore the city through bus or metro. Day 1: Explored the area around the hotel and found there are free drinking water taps every where in the city. Day 2: Metro from Hotel to Spanish Steps and then walk to Via Condotti which is just opposite the Spanish Steps. Trevi fountain is also walking from Spanish Steps. Ideal Time to visit Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain is 7.30 or 8am sharp to avoid any tourist rush. There is H&M and other affordable brands near the Condotti Street for shopping. Day 3: Visit the Vatican City. Metro from hotel to Ottaviano station and then walk down to Basilica. Be there early to visit and avoid sundays. Also not to wear extra small clothes :) I did not visit the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel due to lack of interest. Please let me know, if you need any other info.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again. It's lovely and clean and there was air conditioning, which we were especially grateful for after walking around in the heat all day! It's literally a 10/15 minute walk away from the Colosseum in a straight line and also the subway station is just outside the hotel. There's a bar in the hotel (not extortionately priced) and lots of little shops to pick up a few basics. There was a fridge in our room that was stocked with bottled water and soft drinks but these are chargeable (as I discovered after my partner had assumed the water was free!) but at only €2 it wasn't exactly daylight robbery but nonetheless- you can get a bigger bottle for less money in the shops. We also had tea and coffee making facilities in our room (which we were told isn't always the norm) but those were free. There is a restaurant area but we didn't eat there as we were told they mainly provided bar snacks and not actual meals per see but there are plenty of places close by to eat. However, I will say research the places before you go so that you know you're not in a tourist trap where you'll be charged over the odds because of the surroundings (eg. overlooking the Colosseum) as opposed to the quality of the food. No real negatives except the lifts are tiny so if you arrive in a group, you may get 4 people and their luggage into 1 lift (but we just used the stairs whilst we were there). Breakfast was ok (I tended to stick to bread/ pastries but if you're expecting proper sausages be prepared for hotdog ones instead and expect a very long wait for toast (you'll need to put the slices through at least twice and they still won't be thoroughly toasted- just warmed bread with a slight crunch. So, nice hotel and decent location. Would recommend to others.

I´d like stay here for 2 nights,because of the exccelent hotel with a good price, and good location! the breakfast is very good and begin early, what I like very much! the internet is ok, and is very,very near the metro, like few feets!

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for one night on our way back through Rome before heading back to the states. I selected this hotel based on the location and the ease of public transportation. We were only a couple train stops from the main terminus and had a metro system or underground train right outside our door. We were also right next to a large number of bus stops. We had previously been in Rome at the start of our vacation, but there were still a couple of places we wanted to see. The public transportation close to this hotel made it easy to get around. The hotel itself was great very clean and up-to-date with friendly front desk service. Note. . . If you are going back to the airport there are a number of ways to get there. You can take public transportation such as the Leonardo Express train from the Rome Termini to the airport. I believe the cost for that is about €14 each. You can take a shuttle bus for a lot less from the bus area outside the Rome terminus. I believe that cost you about 6 euros each. You can also take a private car from the hotel to the Rome airport for €40 for all if you arranged it ahead of time through the hotel. We are one for budget traveling but decided on this option to start our long journey back to the US without the hassle of public transportation and carrying bags on and off public transportation. I'm really glad we did, our driver was waiting for us ahead of time in the lobby and he was very friendly and gave us lots of information about Rome on our way back to the airport. It was worth a few extra euros overtaking the Leonardo Express train. On our trip to Italy we learned that if you want to book any kind of taxi or private car transportation, talk to your hotel at least one day before you need it. We found they always have a way better price than what you can find on your own. Taxis are very expensive if booked on your own.

I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. The front staff was friendly, efficient and had a room ready for us around 12:30, well prior to the normal arrival time. The room was spacious with a king bed and a twin bed where we placed our luggage. The air conditioning was working in late April and, since we kept the windows closed, it was needed to normalize the temperature. We had a back room which was quite and there was good sound proofing- we couldn't here the neighbors. With the shutter drawn and the room was cool and dark, perfect for a good night's sleep. There was a safe and the bathroom was modern and worked well. The breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly want. The location was about a 12 minute walk from the Forum and Colosseum, which came in handy when we got caught in an unexpected downpour and had to go back and change clothes. And finally, the price seemed like a good deal. The hotel is about 40 feet from an entrance to the subway. The neighborhood did have some graffiti on the buildings but we never felt unsafe though we didn't stay out late. With the price we paid, I felt it was a good value. If you're looking for a good, moderately priced hotel, this should be on your short list.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. I'm not a big fan of BW, but with this one we had positive experience. Rooms are not that new, but still look good and are clean. The only issue is that some of them are very small. We had one of those economy rooms for the first 2 nights and the bed was not acceptable for 2 people (120 or maybe max. 140 cm) - was super small and uncomfortable. After our room was changed, everything was ok. We were super positively surprised by the quality of a breakfast. In Italy it's usually very limited and only sweet, while here there is everything: fruits, vegetables, cheese, different hams, salami, eggs, sausages, sweets - really excellent and with super friendly staff. And it costs only 7,5 EUR per person, so if you don't have it included, definitely worth to buy - you won't eat that cheap outside. Reception staff is also very friendly and responsive.

Spent 3 nights here and it was great. Comfy beds. Tea and coffee making facilities very welcome after long day walking. Bath with shower good. Very helpful staff. Metro outside door which a 7 euro travel card gets you around. Breakfast nice variety for all nationalities.

We stayed 4 days and 3 nights, the Best Western Hotel President is very (walking distance) to the Colosseum. There are plenty of little restaurants all around for your dining pleasure. The Breakfast served was very good. Our room overlooked the street, a little noisy but it really didn't bother us. One thing is for the air conditioning, if it's not working in your room...let the front desk know, they may have to turn it on for you, if the people before you asked to have it turned off. Other than that..it was a very nice stay. Beds were comfortable and all the employees very nice and helpful. I would recommend the Best Western Hotel President to everyone, I'll stay there again on my return to Rome. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We were on a tour...and had stayed in a few places that weren't very good...so my expectations were not very high....although I was hopeful! This hotel was great, they handled our large group with ease...the service was excellent, the elevators were amazingly fast, even for Italy, the buffet breakfast was very good...the rooms were not small like may of the local hotels, and the rooms were clean and always made up in a timely fashion. All of the staff...front desk, waiters, and bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful.... I would not hesitate to stay there again....with a group or just as a couple.....

Let's not get over excited here: the staff are very friendly and multi-lingual. The rooms are adequate, the breakfast buffet is typical Italian hotel style trying to please everyone and if you want dinner you have to book. Or just go out as there are a few good restaurants nearby. Conveniently located for Manzoni metro station, trams and buses. 5 minutes from San Giovanni cathedral, a 15 minute walk from the Colliseum, 35 minutes to Piazza Venezia and on to the other sights to be seen. Tram 3 to Trastevere is worth the trip. Be aware that as a city hotel it's very noisy from 0530 till midnight. Blaring sirens from police cars and ambulances, constant hooting from Rome's impatient drivers and the screeching of metal on metal as the tram turns the corner by the hotel. Then there is the litter that the city can't afford to sweep up, the 1100 litre roll top waste bins in the street by the front door and the area is a bit scruffy. But it's still Rome!

The hotel was nice and situated in the centre of the city. The rooms are clean but little small. The breakfast is good with really nice spread including some hot meal. The food was good in the restaurant as well.

Stayed here for a four night city break and was pleasantly surprised at how good the hotel was Staff were helpful although you sometimes had to look for a barman during the day ok at night Reception could have done with more seating for the number of guests Our room was very clean but unfortunately overlooked the main road some guests did have a quiet room at the back Breakfast was very good with a large selection of hot and cold food Walking distance from the Colloseum about 20-30 minutes. Vatican about 45 minutes Overall could recommend this hotel but you would need to use the bus /tram or metro to see everything

This hotel is situated in a nice neighborhood and a few steps away from the Manzoni metro station for convenient public transportation. I stayed here for 4 nights last week, my room was clean and the decor was updated to modern standards. The staff was attentive and efficient, plus everyone I dealt with spoke English. Mangia bene!

Located near the metro. Easy access to airport and train stations. Good staff. Rooms are reasonable sized. Coffee maker in room. free wifi. Counter staff were helpful with local tourism info, walks. Has a restaurant in house thats reasonably priced.

Travelled to Rome with my wife and mother, the hotel is excellent and staff wonderful. Rooms extremely comfortable and spacious. The reception team were very helpful and helped us getting round Rome. Extremely clean and tidy. Getting around Rome is quite easy as a metro station is close to the hotel. Wonderful breakfast with a good choice. Have stayed previously and will definitely be back.

A Japanese major travel agency uses this hotel for their tours. Although the hotel is not gorgeous, but it has a very good quality. The following points are especially good: It has a very wide varieties of food as breakfast. And everything was delicious. So it was very wonderful. I feel that the good tastes of cheese, ham, bread etc are based on the good tastes of Italian food and cuisine. I stayed with my family(4 people in total) in this hotel for 4 nights. We stayed in a Comfort Family Room that contains two normal rooms that are connected to each other. Behind the main external door that can be locked, there is a short hallway. There are two more internal doors that can be locked in the short hallway, at the right and at the left. The two internal doors are the entrance of the two rooms. We inserted chairs in the internal doors in order to keep the doors open. So we could move between the two rooms freely. It was very convenient. Comfort Family Room is very recommendable for family stay. Each room has its own bathroom(two bathtubs and two toilets in total). The room with a kingbed is larger than the room with two single beds. The room with a kingbed is very large and it has a space where one more single bed can be installed. The room with two single beds is smaller, but the ceiling is high. So I didn't feel that the room was narrow. I like the high ceiling. We stayed in the room comfortably. It is almost right in front of the exit of Manzoni Station. It is very convenient to use subway. It is not so far to Termini station and the other landmarks. We used taxi frequently because we are 4 people. Everyone was nice. It was very good. Grazie.

We booked here via Hotwire, not expecting too much, but we were pleasantly surprised as this hotel is quite good, actually. Comfortable beds, very friendly staff and a great location for exploring the tourist sites of Rome. Room size was adequate for Rome and the entire property was clean. We absolutely loved the large window on the 7th floor, allowing us to do happy hour with a fresh breeze. I think the only downside here has to be the shower, definitely not enough pressure.

Compact but we'll equipped and clean room. Comfy beds and plentiful hot and cold buffet breakfast. Did not use the restaurant as there were too many great local alternatives. Metro is on the doorstep. Well placed to walk to many sites but with the metro St Peter's is also easily in reach.

The room was nice and modern, a little on the small side, but that's usual for Rome. It was quiet too, considering it's on a crossroads of main roads. The wardrobe needs shelves and the sink area needs more space for you to put your things. Breakfast was good, and the bar served nice simple meals.

Room are smaller than expected ,staff was rude when we tell there is problem in the room or servicd , room service was poor as they didn't change the used towels instead they keep old one to reuse for 3 nights!!! when we informed them no action .breakfast was poor all pastries taste orange .

My room was clean but basic and very small. Staff started cleaning rooms from 8am along my corridor making lots of noise. I suppose you get what you pay for but at the ratecI paid I would certainly have expected more. Most dissapointing was the attitude behind the reception desk. Staff were rude and self satisfied to the point that guests seemed an irritation. There have to be better options than this place.

Stayed here for a long weekend at the end of March 19. Easy to get to from airport, train to Termini and 2 stops on metro with stop right outside the hotel. Location is good for getting about. Breakfast is good at €7.50pp all you can eat and set us up for the day. Wasn't happy with the hotel in general. We arrived late at night and checked in to room 216. We initially couldn't get in and I had to return to reception to ask why and a porter was sent with us to show us how to get in, the 'technique' is to pull the door first.... Might have been helpful to tell us that on check in. Dropped the bags and tried to go for food but couldn't lock the door... Called reception who sent the porter to show us the 'technique' of how to lock by slamming the door. Might have been helpful to be told this on check in OR when the porter came the first time! The issue with slamming all hotel doors to lock them means all rooms are slamming doors all day and night! The smart phone in the room didn't work, this was taken to reception who told us there was a problem with the socket in the room! ! Didn't offer to fix the socket they just offered to charge the phone....this resulted in it only having about 2hours battery life. Charger still didn't work that night so we gave up with it! Safe didn't work either and couldnt be bothered asking reception AGAIN. The hotel then decided for our last two days they would then be refurbishing the rooms around us with banging all day from approx 0900hrs! No warning, no notes, not told on check in and nothing on the website! They did email me a couple of days before our arrival but didn't mention it. Note to the hotel... Carrying out noisy refurbishments to your hotel with guests in the next room without informing them is NOT good customer service. In conclusion, the hotel is in a good location for transport and getting about but too many negatives for us to recommend as we would not stay there again.

Went to Romr for a weekend birthday break & was not disappointed! The hotel was a great choice in manzoni, very helpful & friendly staff, also rooms was cleaned daily to a high standard. This hotel is right next to the metro aswell so there is easy access to city centre. The coluseum was about 10/15 minutes walk from hotel.

I stayed in the Best Western Hotel President on my recent travels to Rome. The hotel is about a mile from Termini train station. The Manzoni metro station is right outside the front door of the hotel. The location was great for exploring Rome. The biggest drawback of the location is that it is located on a fairly busy street. Some of the street noise does carry into the hotel. It was not so loud that it kept me awake at night or was disturbing, but for light sleepers this might be a consideration. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff does a good job keeping the hotel clean. Our room was in good shape and very clean as well. The room was a nice room. it was a good size and had a king sized bed. The bathroom was plenty big and had nice finishes on the surfaces. The bathroom in the room had a sink, shower, toilet, and a bidet. The room was well lighted and comfortable. We were able to get a good night's sleep each night. The hotel staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to those working in the restaurant area were all friendly and helpful. The staff were great. The hotel does offer breakfast each morning in the restaurant on the ground floor. We ate breakfast there several mornings and we enjoyed the breakfast. There was a good selection of food. The breakfast buffet included croissants, bread, eggs, prosciutto, bacon, yogurt, fruit, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, and other options. There was plenty to choose from and the quality of the food was good. I enjoyed my stay in the Best Western Hotel President and I would gladly stay there again.

Good location within walking distance of the Colosseum. Not great shopping or restaurants nearby, but the metro station is right at the corner of the street which is ideal. This hotel is nothing special. The rooms are small and the breakfast was good, but no bad experiences. Stayed 3 nights and nothing to complain about, worth it if you want good access to metro and ability to walk to Colosseum. Helpful staff as well.

We spent 2 night was brilliant hotel good service and friendly staff hotel closed to manzoni underground you can go anywhere to Rome just for €1.50 we come back again to the same hotel .we went to all rome it's lots to visit. To be honest most of the street messy and rubish everywhere. Restaurant bar was expensive pint beer €13 botell wine the cheapest is €27 but food always good we love it

I stayed at the Hotel President as a party of 3 (2 rooms). I had a double to myself, which was plenty big enough and clean and had, TV, Safe, Kettle, mobile phone to use when out, mini bar. The bathroom was also clean and adequate (selection of toiletries, hairdryer). The rooms could be noisy (noise from other rooms/ corridor). However, i had a room which overlooked the back of the hotel. so i did not experience any traffic noise. There is free wifi throughout the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel on 1 occasions. It was ok, but we decided to have a look around for alternative places to eat. The bar was reasonably priced (on par with/ if not cheaper than some of the local bars). Staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a shuttle back to the airport which cost 48Euro (which between 3 of us, was not that bad). The main reason we stayed at this hotel, was its location. There is a Metro and Tram stop right outside the hotel (as well as bus stops), which makes getting to the attractions easier (although the Coliseum is only about a 10 min walk away). The area around the hotel appeared to be safe and there were a number of shops, places to eat drink within a short walk or tram ride. I booked through Booking.Com and had pre-paid prior to my visit. My confirmation stated that i had paid City Tax. However, when checking out, i was informed that the City Tax had not been paid. This was resolved, but it is worth noting, so that you can budget for this. I would stay here again.

Couldn't fault the location of this hotel about a 15 minute walk to the coliseum. Our only faults were this hotel is on a busy main road and it's very noisy and it was very warm but it was spotless clean and it didn't cause us too many issues and I would happily return to This hotel.

Great location, metro station and bus/tram stop just outside the hotel. It's just 2 or 3 stops from Roma Termini which makes it super convenient 15-20 mins walk to Colessum. Public busses just outside can take you to any part of the city where the attractions are located. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast is adequate to start the day.

Stayed here for a long weekend while going to see the 6 Nations Rugby. Great location, with Manzoni Metro station right outside & Termini a 10 minute walk away. Staff were helpful & courteous, looking after all our requests efficiently & offered dining tips too. Our room was clean & spacious, and the food was good. Would recommend as a base to see all the tourist sites.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a large group tour, and we really enjoyed this hotel. It was clearly a bit more 'Americanized' and had a lot of amenities that I was used to in American chain hotels. The room was a good size, had comfortable beds, a nice size bathroom and free wifi. We enjoyed the service at the bar in the lobby, and ate dinner there one night as well, which wasn't outstanding, but quite good. The breakfast buffet, however, was the best one we encountered on our trip - so many options, and all of it was good quality. They clearly worked hard to present options for a wide variety of visitors. The only thing that was lacking was the prepared 'breakfast to go' bags that our group had one morning - not ideal at all. The location was great - close to a metro stop, and an easy walk to the Colosseum. Would stay again!

I've booked a room 2 weeks ago, contacted them directly, a nice gentleman confirmed the booking is done, i will have my family room and I can pay when I arrive. Official emails and all. I wanted to go the extra mile and to repay their professionalism so I offered to pay the entire amount in advance. After 4 days I got the documents, filled them, sent all they asked, including pictures of my credit card... I asked for a final confirmation and they replied with (quote) "we are truly sorry but we have to tell you that we received many bookings for that date, and in these days the availability of our Hotel lowed very fastly, and we do not have any family room available. I cannot confirm the reservation, we are very sorry. Are you kidding me? Official confirmation on booking 3 weeks in advance, the client offers to PAY, I send you ALL the data and you simply reply with that? You should be ashamed BW and if I was in your shoes, Beatrice Marino, the Back Office contact should fly out the door in that second. This cannot be real, I am still in shock on how they managed to f..k up an entire trip. Damn lackeys.

Great location if you are happy using public transport, can get to most tourist destinations . There is a Metro U station straight outside the hotel fares 1.5 euro for 100mins on trams, bus or U. Also Tram stop (3) will take you to Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, Trastevere etc. All you can eat breakfast for 7.5 Euro is good value. They even give you a free smart phone with a travel app tells you about interesting places to go and how to get there. plus it claims you can call anywhere in Europe for free. On check out they claimed I had connected to ""hot spots " twice dont recall doing this but they dropped the 2*5 Euro charge when I disputed it. Staff very friendly. Downside was very noisy at night due to said trams and busy road, also room very hot (in January) . But this wasnt a major problermo for us and we would return.

Booked this property for 7 days through Delta Vacations and was very pleased with the outcome! Great location in Rome. Very very close to metro/grocery store/wine bars/restaurants/shopping. Fantastic front desk, all needs met. Arrangement of taxis, referrals for food, local insight for tourist was useful. Would stay again if in Rome.

Excellent location walking steps to Manzoni Metro station that leads to all Rome attractions and 10 mins walk to the colosseum. The Room is nice and clean. Staff all around the Hotel and especially at the reception are very helpful with a full day smile. Brekfast is Good and the resturant is clean.

Stayed three 3 nights. The Staff is nice Andrzej helpful, but the hotel rooms are dirty. The worst is the bathroom without some elements of equipment and mould on the bath. Brr...and from the main street it's so noisy. They don't have a noise proof windows.

Hotel room and location were nice, very close to metro and colesseum in walking range (30min). We forget some documents in our safe box (locked) when we left but nobody called me to inform, I called them back but they were not helpfull enough, they request me to send email about it but they immediately responced for negative result of my lost documents. Anyway the rest of stay was ok.

Amazing family room. Two rooms with two bathrooms. Loved the shower head! Very clean. Wonderful location. Walking distance to the Colosseum and right on the subway line. Extremely helpful staff. Great place to stay in Rome.

Loved: location, goose feather pillows, Manet smartphone, kettle in room, great value meals in the bar. We had 2 single rooms, quite plain style, but that's good. 2 full length mirrors, pillow menu, nice bathroom, clean. A couple of maintenance issues were sorted quickly. All staff both professional and charming. We are in the bar every night as it was dark and wet outside, and thought the meals very good. Look forward to another visit.

My wife an I stayed there for 5 nights while in Rome Our room was very clean. The bed was comfortable The staff is great. They work to please The breakfast was awesome. The restaurant in the hotel was very good The location is super This is a good hotel Metro right on the corner Buses around the block One mile from the colosseum So easy to get the hop on hop off buses.

Staying in this hotel was a great choice. i'll tell why. Location: it is perfect as it is within the city's sights to see. a kilometer walk will take you to the very famous Colosseo. a few meters will take you to different shops. a 500-meter walk will take you to specialty shops. all of these are within reach with the hotel. Service: Everyone i talked to was genuinely nice. there are no big requests. everything can be sorted out. and they do it genuinely. Room: it could be a bit crowded for two, especially with 30kg baggage allowances, but the room is classy by design. it boasts soft mattresses, pillows, and comforters. it has a complimentary coffee, minibar, and channels that offer more english shows compared to other EU countries. the only thing that bothered us was the noise outside. since it is beside a bar. Washroom: one of my favorites. the water pressure is perfect. everything you need is in there. the toiletries are also well invested. i think (pardon my ignorance) what they use is a locally known line of shampoos, conditioner, ang bath gel. Food: they have a wide variety of breakfast choices, especially for breakfast. it tastes great though i suggest that they serve unsweetened croissants. would i recommend best western? yes. would i come back? yes.

After scouring the hotel booking sites for a weekend break in Rome, I finally found the Best Western Hotel President, and what a stroke of luck. I have stayed at Best Western hotels before and was very impressed. And this one lives up to the high standard. The reception staff were very helpful, and we were even allowed to check in early. Mysterious room (a superior room) was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was perfect for a great nights sleep. The bathroom was a good size with a good shower and constant hot water. The location of the hotel, for me, was ideal, all the main places I wanted to visit were within easy reach, I walked to them all. One down side, the rooms aren't very well sound proofed, and with wooden floors in the rooms you hear quite a lot noise. And in my room, 326, the bathroom next door must have been right next to my room and you could hear pretty much everything. But I didn't let it spoil my stay. A great place to stay.

The hotel was very nice and staff extremely helpful. On arrival we were offered 20% off food in the bar . This was an invitation we could not refuse ,two bottles of Prosecco and several beers we also had eight meals €124 not bad. Room was more than comfortable but as in most major cities a bit noisy at night.

OK, but not more. Clean but a little bit worn down. Breakfast is all about sugar. Coffee and thé was not good especially if you compare to the coffee you can get in Italy. Another bad thing was that all smkers stood rigth outside the doors and the wind pushed all smoked into the lobby which made the hotel feel cheap and old.

Hotel is in a great location bus , trams , and metro system all within a few feet of the hotel . On arrival were greeted with lovely front desk check in staff completed with in a few minutes. Hotel was spotless in all areas . All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and pleasant . We had a room at the front of the hotel there was some noise from the trams very early in the mornings could do with more sound proofing at the window area but otherwise room was very good

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights in October 2018 with a small tour group. This was the first American-based chain we stayed in during our 15 day Italy tour. We were pleased with the immaculately clean and nicely (although not Italian) decor. This hotel offered more of the American amenities we are accustomed to, but lacked in historic Italian charm. The location was good, but about a 30 minute walk to many desired sights. There were some nice small restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. The front desk and room staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast buffet was beautifully displayed, abundant in choices and the wait staff were very good. Overall, it is a good hotel in a decent location for a moderate price. I would recommend.

This location was perfect. You are about a mile away from the coliseum and a little less than 3 miles away from the Vatican. The bus and train is literally a few feet away. The train is almost at the entrance of the hotel that can take you to the Vatican (one train only) if you take the bus on the corner it will literally leave you in front of the coliseum. If you have the breakfast package you get the room service for free, which I took advantage of everyday. This hotel is punctual, they will not miss a beat with timing. We ordered breakfast for 730am and at exactly 730am they were knocking everyday. Room was clean and I will for sure stay again if I go back to Rome. Also if you take a cab, all you have to say is Presidente Hotel. And they know exactly where to take you. A cab ride to Vatican will run you anywhere between 12 - 14 euros. Hope this helps. Also by the hotel many little restaurants and pizza spots. The room service for dinner extremely cheap. Pizza, ice cream and dessert was like 15 euros. The states will charge like 90 dollars for this madnesses.

It took me about 40 minutes or so via taxi to get to the hotel from the Fumicino Airport in Rome. It being right on a main road made it very accessible (at least by car). The room I got (single) was just small - but I have been in other hotels in Rome in the past, and I dont think this is much worse. Perhaps people who travel in other parts of the world have larger expectations. What I thought really made it an average experience for me was that (1) I think it is a 'tour group' hotel, meaning you had to deal with hordes of new guests with their luggage and all in an already small lobby waiting to access a tiny little elevator that I thought could absolutely not carry more than three people at a time (you'd be better off taking the stairs), (2) the plug points and the television all seemed shaky (you almost have to be scared that if you walk about comfortably in the space challenged room, you are definitely going to break something. It didn't seem like a maintained hotel. Things seem to be falling apart. (3) Through the night, each night (because I only used the room in the night!) the water in the pipes from the floor/s above made such a HUGE noise constantly that it kept waking me up every few minutes. It was incredibly hard. Thankfully after the first night, I was able to go and buy myself a pair of ear plugs, and thankfully they worked for the most part.(4) And fourthly, I am quite certain the staff at the front desk can be a bit more friendlier. And no it is not a European thing. I have been in tons of other hotels in Europe over the years with much friendlier staff. So either the staff here was just not the very friendly sort, or they were just not very comfortable with an exclusively English-speaking guest, or perhaps it might have to do with how I look. Either way, I am sure they could be a bit more friendlier. A smile would be a good place to start, I'd think. So there you go! I got a relatively reasonable price, so I ended up here. Next time, I will be a bit more careful and perhaps research a little more before booking a room.

Room is a little small but comfortable. Bathtub is a little high to step into to so please hold on to something if you're a senior citizen. They really need a full sliding door or curtain for the tub. The free cell phone was an unexpected bonus.

This is a great hotel, offering good value for Rome and it's Best Western so you know what you're getting. The staff were extremely helpful and the decor was modern and clean with good facilities. The breakfast offered a good selection and they bring out fresh coffee just as you like it. The hotel is within walking distance of the colosseum and a stones throw from the metro. There are a few good restaurants nearby but you have to search for them off the Main Street. The only downside is that the area around the hotel isn't the nicest and you're a little bit out the way of the main central areas in Rome. However to get a hotel of this quality in a more central area we would have to pay a lot more money so there are always pros and cons wherever you go. There is also parking at this hotel which many in the more central areas probably don't have. On balance I would definitely recommend this hotel, particularly if you want a good quality hotel on a budget and don't mind being slightly further out of the main areas.

This hotel is quite basic but the perfect hotel for a city break. Set in a great location close to public transport and local restaurants, it offers a very comfortable stay. The staff were lovely and the facilities are ideal for small groups on a city break. Would thoroughly recommend.

I wouldn't have pick this hotel but hotwire did. I was very impressed. The hotel is literally footsteps from the metro. It had a great breakfast buffet. So much options. Lobby was nice. You can walk to like a little shopping Area. Staff was very helpful. I got it fir a reason price. They also had a movil phone for your used at no extra charge. We didn't used it. To be picking the window shutters were dirty, bathroom mirror was broken and behind the bathroom door was dirty. It was cool they had recycling bin. Didn't see much in Europe.

There are a lot of great things about this hotel. First, it's just off the Metro, so it's easy to get to. Second, the staff are very professional and knowledgeable and willing to give advice, directions, help you make dinner reservations, find you a driver - anything you need, they are at the ready. When you get to your room, it's clean and so comfortable and if you've been traveling all day, there's nothing like knowing you're in a GREAT hotel room, not just one that's "ok." We slept like babies, woke up to an amazing breakfast buffet, and were ready to begin our Italian adventure! I'd stay at this hotel again and again. We stayed at the best western president hotel for 3day break.. Lovely hotel lovely staff and we really enjoyed it. Breakfast as lovely too for €5.00.. Cant say enough abiut this hotel room cleaned everyday and clean towels. Right beside metro so we were central to everything.

Here for two nights end of September..Excellent Location close to many attractions and the Termi Train station also..Transportation arranged by the Hotel for airport pick up was perfect Every one encountered was very friendly and helpful..We went half board and the Breakfast and dinner were superb..Rooms quiet and comfortable surroundings. Staff are lovely. Rooms are small but functional. Despite the traffic outside I had a quiet room at the back. No room service for.food which is disappointing. Good location for buses, trams and metro (red line).

We came from Canada to visit Italy and Rome for the first time. The hotel was clean, the room was spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent - the metro was right outside the door. We were able to walk or take the subway to anywhere in Rome to see the sights. The breakfasts were fantastic. We didn't need to eat until supper. But the best part was the staff. The front desk people were very helpful and pleasant. They took the time to explain routes, access maps, and recommend places to see outside the city. And the dining room staff were fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and took time to talk to us every morning. They recognized us, knew when we wanted our cappucinos and remembered my wife loved the pastries they brought with the coffees and made sure she had one (or two) every day. A big shout-out to Bappy Barcatullah and Ireneo Rivera, along with all the others. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel and Manet celular services very good and well used. I wish every hotel have tese ammenities. Breakfast is ok, but the coffe needs to be asked. Restaurant is poor and needs reservation, never see this before

An average hotel that is clean and friendly. Because it is slightly outside of the tourist areas you can find loads of decent eateries at reasonable prices. You can walk to all the attractions and a train station is 50 metres from the front door. You can do worse.

The President is an ideal place to stay for a short trip to Rome. It is within walking distance to many of the sites many want to visit. A short walk away are some nice restaurants, shops and snack bars. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are helpful. Breakfast is served from early morning letting you get to places to visit early. It is near the underground and tram allowing you to get around easily if you prefer not to walk.

The service was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and we thought it was a great value at only 5 euros. The location was ideal because of the proximity to the train station and we walked from the hotel to the coliseum. This hotel is definitely in-line with the Best Western quality, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we have the chance!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Even though this hotel is not at Termini station, it is only 2 stops away from Termini. And there was bus stop right across where it takes to majority of landmarks as well (Colossem etc..) We didn't know about bus info, so we asked at info desk when we check in which was very helpful. We tried breakfast for five euros only one day, which was good but we didn't feel like eating three days in a row. Servers bring espresso as optional and they keep up cheese, croissants and meats. The room was neat, somewhat tight but I believe it is common in Europe, especially in Rome.

On our recent trip to Italy. We had an overnight stay at the Best Western Presidential. The hotel is in the perfect location. The entry to the subway is 30 steps away. Which was great! Can't get lost even after dark. Hotel staff were great! Allowed us to drop off our luggage early before check in so we could do our Vatican tour and then allowed us to check out and leave our luggage while we toured the Colosseum and more of Rome before our train left. The buffet breakfast for five euros was outstanding. The bed and pillows also fantastic. I would recommend staying here if you're ever in Rome.

To start, some of the front desk staff were helpful, others seemed to have an attitude issue and provide no help at all. I had a room on the top floor, which had a door onto a terrace, it rained pretty heavy one night, a fair bit of water leaked into the room enough to wake me from my sleep from the sound of water dripping. In the morning I notified the cleaning staff, they just advised to tell the front desk, when explaining what happened to the lady at the front desk, all I got was an "OK" ....Other than that, the hotel was clean and rooms well appointed. The location was not bad, right outside the metro which was great, and it was about a 20 minute walk to major attractions. There were a lot of shops and restaurants around as well which was a plus.

As a solo traveler, the space is decent. I had a balcony. it is just beside the train station and all the amenities. I enjoyed my stay and will stay here again. The staff at Best western are very friendly and one can tell they enjoy their job.

The staff was amazing and helpful. The breakfast was ok, The room was small.There was not much in the surrounding area but right near the metro, the tram, and the bus which were all really easy to navigate.

Much to like about the hotel. While it was not right bang in the busy city centre it was easy to get everywhere with a metro stop just outside and with decent bus links. The hotel is not the most plush or chic looking but everything works well. One minus is that there are only 2 small lift which often got crowded at peak times - check in with a group or breakfast rush. The room also worked very well - good bed, good shower, good size and most importantly good air con ! Breakfast was simple and decent but heard the restaurant wasnt so good. Quite a few late night eating places around the hotel incl a nice pizza place serving takeaway which is useful (picolla palermo) and a nice gelato / ice cream place. The restaurants around here are also very reasonably priced unlike the tourist centre.

We had this hotel booked for us by an agent and were delighted with it. We were room only but ate their excellent and varied breakfast every morning (€5). We ate out on our first night but ate in the hotel bar every other night as they served excellent food at the same price as other restaurants and we could fine at any time (Pizza Napoli and Pollo Romana were delicious and filling). Manzoni metro station is next door (with bus and tram stops around the corner) and, with a great value 72 hour transport pass, every part of Rome is easily accessible. The hotel staff, from reception through restaurant and bar to the staff who cleaned the rooms, always greeted us with a smile and a very pleasant "Buongiorno". Just behind the hotel are the attractions of Scala Sancta where, if you are a believer, you can climb, on your knees, the steps that Jesus ascended to Pontius Pilate's praetorium. And while there, visit the magnificent Archbasilica of St John Lateran along the road. Or shop in the Coin department store next to Porta San Giovanni (or better still get a bargain from the market behind the store!) However do not miss the Museo storico della Liberazione hidden in Via Tasso, just behind the hotel, for an heartbreaking yet uplifting story of the Partisan resistance in Rome during the Nazi occupation. I sang the chorus of "Bella Ciao" with the female curator who began, "Una mattina mi son svegliato" with a tearful eye. What an amazing connection.

Haven't used best western brand for couple of years and this one was chosen by our agent for post cruise few days in Rome. The location is excellent, metro virtually on the door step and maximum of 20 minutes walk to the coliseum. Unfortunately the sink in our bathroom was not draining and clearly needed unblocking which is something you would have expected to be picked up by housekeeping in a four star hotel before our arrival. However once we reported it to reception it was dealt with fairly quickly although we had thought from our conversation that we were just going to be shown how to do it ourselves - I think on hindsight it was probably a language problem! Disappointed with bathroom supplies, no hair conditioner provided only shampoo, it's not a luxury anymore and especially after a day sightseeing in the sun. It must be at least 20 years since I last stayed anywhere that didn't provide conditioner. Breakfast was ok and part of our package but I did notice advertised that the cost was only 5 euro so we didn't get our hopes up. Hot food wasn't very appetising especially congealed scrambled egg. Very surprised that no glasses were provided in the room with the mini bar just single use plastic ones, shame on BW with the current war on plastic and certainly not ecologically friendly

We stayed at Best Western hotel in Milan on our last visit and found them very helpful so decided to go with them again. Not disappointed at all. Same level of great service, rooms are clean with all the services you need. Offer shuttle to airport and walking distance to Colosseum. We loved the walk and there is plenty shops and bars close by if you don't want to walk too far. We didn't get the breakfast package so not sure on the quality but the bar was great to sit it before heading out at night. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was pleasant and clean. Hotel staff friendly and informative. Breakfast was well presented with choices. The hotel was in a goid location near to china town and next to the underground metro system. We had a fabulous holiday in Rome and would definitely recommend a stay.

We spent two nights here and it was an excellent choice. The location is very good -walking distance to the Colloseum and the city centre. If walking isn't your thing, then the metro station entrance is right outside the hotel door. The staff were all very courteous and professional and a real pleasure to interact with. We were able to get a two bedroom unit for our family of four and this was the perfect option for us. This is a rarity in Europe. Our teenage kids had two twin beds in one room and we had a queen size bed in the second room. There were two bathrooms in this suite. It was clean and modern and the air conditioning was a real relief from the heat. The five euro buffet breakfast was a big plus and it provided lots of great options for many different tastes. Well done!! We loved the free use of the Samsung mobile phone (Manet) to help us with navigation, restaurant suggestions and other extras that we were not expecting. While walking around in Rome is not that difficult, having the extra use of Google maps is always fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely stay here again if we ever return to Rome.

Located very close to the Coliseum with easy access to points of interest. Comfortable and clean room. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast in variety and quality. Providing a smarthphone with internet was a good help. I'll come back

The hotel is situated approx 10-15 mins walk to the colosseum which was a huge bonus for our stay here at the best western hotel president. A stones throw away from some fantastic places to eat and enjoy a glass of wine or two. The hotel is also situated near the metro/subway which is also very handy although we did not use this instead explored Rome on foot (not recommended if you have mobility issues otherwise soak in the city this way). The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were of a good size and extremely clean, they were also equipped with a mini fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast is available in the hotel for 5 euros per person, a fair choice is on offer e.g eggs, bacon, pastries and a selection of juices. There is also an onsite bar and restaurant which we found fun pre night out. In terms of an iron and ironing board you would need to ask should you need oneI would recommend this hotel to anybody and would certainly return here if ever I am lucky enough to visit Rome once again.

This is already our second visit to this hotel, the first was a couple of years ago. My room was very comfortable, with a big and comfy bathroom, looked very new and slik. Everyday we were given packets of coffee and tea, to freshen up. Wifi is available all around the hotel, and is of excellent speed. The hotel is in an excellent spot at the city, not too far at all (as it would seem from the map), 10 steps from a metro station, and next to a bus stop in which good lines run, and in excellent frequency. 51 goes all around the city, and you can either walk for 4 minutes or take a bus to the next station - in which more buses that go around the city stop. The hotels offers a manet phone, which was a very nice addition. It's a smartphone given to you free by the hotel, that has free 4G connection, and it's very handful to go around the city with it. You can't get lost since you can always search Google maps for a public transportation to your next destination. I know it also offers free calls to most of the countries, but we didn't use it. The staff is so nice and helpful, we had a bit of a problem early on operation the manet phone, but they helped us with such grace and dedication and it was wonderful. In conclusion, an excellent spot. Will return again for a 3rd time if we come back to Rome.

Rooms were small but the beds were comfortable and the showers nice. Breakfast was good. The hotel is right next to the subway and also very close to the train station. 15 minute walk to the Forum and Colosseum. 30 minute walk to Trevi and Spanish steps. Only drawback is that there aren't too many restaurants around, but there are a few.

I really enjoyed our stay here and I would come back again. It was very close to the train station and there are many dining places in the area. The buffet breakfast was awesome with the nice selection of food choices! The air conditioning worked great and the staff were very kind! There is no iron in the rooms, but just ask for it and they will bring it to you!

We stayed here after our tour group left to explore Rome a few days on our own. The staff is fantastic! I was traveling with my 82yr old Dad and they were so kind and helpful to him. Location is perfect to get out of the crazy city center and with the metro right there was so easy to get anywhere. The free Mano service was great! Loved the service since I had used up all my data!

We have just come back from a memorable visit to Rome and stayed at the Best Western President hotel for 7 nights. So glad we did, it made our trip even better. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough, would definitely recommend it and would certainly stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights following a mediterranean cruise so we could visit the sites of Rome. We needed a room which slept two adults and two kids. Our room had a king bed with two singles, overlooking a neighboring property (no view, but no problem). Overall EXCELLENT property. 15 minute easy walk to Coliseum. Subway is right outside their front door! Plenty of dining and "street food" nearby. Area is safe and busy, but is big city urban (loud, litter, traffic, etc) Staff are friendly, speak excellent english and are very helpful with everything. Room was exceptionally clean as was bathroom. All-you-can eat buffet breakfast can be included in stay or is a nominal 5 euros/person/day and includes expresso drinks! Can't say enough about how delightful dining staff and hostess are during morning buffet and food selection was wonderful! Hot/cold/local...you name it, they had it. Room included a "Manet" smart phone for use free of charge during your stay. Includes free internet access and local/international phone calls. We used it to call airlines and navigate the city during our stay. excellent. Highly, highly recommend this Best Western President (wish US based Best Westerns were this nice).

I have just visited the Best Western President hotel in Rome for 5 nights with my husband and two teenage kids. Would definitely stay again, rooms are spacious and very clean with a selection of mini beauty products and a hairdryer. Comfortable beds but the covers were a little odd.The staff are very friendly on the reception and the restaurant staff at breakfast are amazing. Very attentive with an excellent selection of foods buffet style. My daughter is gluten free and received a selection of sealed gf products every morning.Will definitely book one again

I am a very loyal Marriott guy. Stayed here due to location. Great decision! Stayed at the hotel for four nights and got to say that the service and the staff were amazing. Elevator was spacious and they had more than one! After staying in Venice for 7 nights and Florence for 4 the hotel elevators were very small, slow and noisy. The room was large, clean and quiet. The breakfast selection was great and opened early at 6:30am. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Stayed at the President for a few days about 4 years ago. Delighted to say that thi 7 day stay was as excellent as our previous stay. Staff could not be any more helpful or pleasant to speak to. This hotel is highly recommended and easy commute to anywhere in Rome

Hotel President was better than we had expected. The rooms were so clean and big enough for a family of four. The best part of the stay was the breakfast service available. The food was just amazing and there was definitely a variety for meat eaters and vegetarians. The staff were very helpful and understanding, and tried their very best to explain things in English. Thumbs up to them. I would definitely recommend this hotel, plus the fact that the metro is right next door which takes you to majority of the attractions.

Great hotel and incredibly close to the Manzoni metro stop. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast gave a lot of options and I never left hungry. We even ate in the bar one day for lunch - good as well! They even offer guests a smartphone to use during their stay. I took it two days with me and used it for turn-by-turn GPS directions so I wouldn't get lost in city center. And I didn't have to use my own phone's data or battery! What an invaluable resource, especially for my first time in Rome. Thanks for everything! I would definitely stay here again because of the staff, services and location.

Stayed at the hotel for four days and would say that the service and the staff were amazing. Felt like a 5star experience to me . The breakfast selection was great with best service from Anthony and Merone . Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and will definitely stay here again.

Spacious, great breakfast, wonderful rooms. About a 15 minute walk to the Colisseum. Nice staff and great accomodating hotel! Highly recommend and would defintely want to stay longer! There were some larger tour groups there and could get a little crowded.

During our two stints in Rome for our vacation abroad, we stayed at the Best Western Hotel President (3 nights and then 2 nights). Were I to stay at a hotel again, this would definitely be high on the list of candidates. While there are small nitpicks I have, there was so much about it that made our trip easy that I'd happily endure them (and just come better prepared next time). Location - A fifteen minute walk east of the Colosseum (we did this walk once and it was very easy) - Next to a movie theater (we didn't partake), a good Gelateria (not a big name or famous, but the pistachio was killer--and not neon green like the "fake" gelato), and a few small bodega- or deli-type markets if you need small things like water, yogurt, some fruit, or cured meats - Around the corner (no more than a 30 second walk) from multiple transportation options: * The Manzoni station for Metro Line A (subway), a quick two stops from Termini, which connects to Metro Line B, the rail lines throughout Italy, buses, and rails to the airport; seven or so stops away from Ottaviano, which pops you out a few blocks away from The Vatican or Castel Sant' Angelo * Tram 3 that leads towards the city center and into Testaccio and Trastevere * Bus 51 that leads towards the Colosseum, Tiber Island, and the vicinity of the Pantheon - A 5 minute walk away from the buses (81, 87) across St. John's Basilica in Laterano that will take you near the Campo di Fiore area - In sum, it's easy to get to transportation that will get you where you want to go anywhere close to the city center. It took us less than 30 minutes by Tram to get to Testaccio, and less than 30 minutes by bus to get to the centerpoint area between Campo Di Fiore, Piazza Novona, and the Pantheon. Finally, if you plan on taking the Leonardo Express between Termini and the airport, you'll only need about an hour total (~15 minutes between Manzoni and Termini, ~32 minutes between Termini and FCO airport, with buffer time in between for walking and buying train tickets). The immediate surrounding neighborhood itself isn't entirely interesting, but I wasn't bothered by it Accommodation and Amenities - The rooms are on the smaller side, but there's enough room for a nighstand on each side and a desk to use your laptop on. Clean decor, good amount of charging sockets, and good lighting. Shower doors / guards were a bit finicky, though. - Depending on the room, you either get a nice view of the street, a nice view of the inner open space between the neighboring buildings, or a terrible few of a wall. We had the terrible view our first 3 nights, and the nice inner open space our second 2 nights. Didn't really matter as we were only in our room for sleeping and recharging. - The walls are very, very thin, and the structure is just prone to noisiness. On our first night there, I woke up at 4AM, and could not fall back asleep because people were either leaving really early to get to the airport or the staff shift was changing. It was probably a mixture of both. Whatever the reason, I could hear all the commotion (wheels rolling on the floor and banter) in the hallways as well as the neighboring rooms--I could even hear someone snoozing their smartphone alarm repeatedly. The following nights I was able to alleviate this with a mixture of earplugs and taking melatonin to help my jetlag. And I don't think I was bothered by commotion after that. But if you're a light sleeper, come prepared - Every room comes with a smartphone, pre-loaded with a tourism-oriented operating system. It's just a secure app that sits on top of Android, on a Samsung Galaxy A3 phone. You can use it to make local calls, browse the web, use Google Maps for directions, and use Google Translate for all your language-barrier needs (all with 4G speeds). Best of all, it is provided for free. I would say that compared to how many public transportation options there are close by, this free phone was of equal importance to us, since we don't have hi-speed global data plans. The Galaxy A3 is a budget-level phone, so it's a tad slow, the battery life isn't the greatest, and the GPS didn't always lock onto our exact location 100% of the time (once in a while it would be maybe 50 feet / just under 20 meters off), but it worked well enough for me to rely on it for all directions as well as scouting out restaurants and reviews on the web. We also carried USB battery packs with us so that we could charge anything on the go. (Note that for a 5 euro fee per day of use, you can also use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot for your own device, but we never felt the need to employ that option.) - There is a decent fitness center with cardio equipment, free weights, and a multi-function machine with different strength training motions and (if I recall correctly) a pull-up bar. We only used it to raid the fridge for a bottle of water but it would have been adequate for our needs - There is 5 euro breakfast. We didn't partake, but it's there if you need it - The restaurant will fill up your water bottles for free. Just take it to the host. They ask that you do this instead of hoarding water from the gym - The bed and pillows were a little squishy. Not the best if you're used to a firmer mattress and pillows. But they have a menu of pillows for you to choose from, which is a nice touch. It's just that the "firmest" pillow on offer didn't really do it for us - Good air conditioning. Very important if you're going in the summer. - Friendly staff. At least, our encounters were friendly. Helpful with public transportation directions or calling a cab. And, selfishly on my part, they all spoke English very well. - Tiny elevators! Can fit four, maybe five, people in without luggage, and only three with luggage. With all the other hotels--slightly closer to the city center--charging upwards of $200 a room, this is a very good sub-$200 alternative (rooms can be had between $100 and $150 depending on when and what you book). If money is no object to you, I suppose you could do better closer to the city center. This isn't extravagantly lavish. But if deciding on a hotel in the future, I would definitely stay here again on subsequent visits to Rome.

When you are in Rome and the temperature is 95 deg there is nothing like coming back to a nice cool hotel and a nicely chilled room. The AC was great and for this I have it another star because most hotels in Italy have awful AC. They also had a great staff, and location to the metro and trolly were less than 30 meters, which is very important when at the end of the day you are heading back and don't want to walk a km to get to your hotel. The rooms were adequate and the beds comfortable and nice sized for Europe. Breakfast was so-so however for 5 euro it is a decent deal. The only drawback is they offer no break for children so everyone over 1 yo pays. Another option is to go to the corner bar and order a coffee and pastry. Very reasonable if you stand at the counter vs. sitting. Costs around 3 euro for coffee/pastry. A few drawbacks- lots of tour groups stay here, including school kids so it can get loud/noisy/crowded. When it happened to us hotel security came right up and took care of the noise. Also if you purchase anything along the street by the hotel make sure to ask for a receipt and check quantity/prices/your change as they tried to short count us several times hoping we wouldn't catch it.

Hotel is clean. staff are very friendly. It's a good base for spending a few days doing the sights. The Colosseum is a short walk away (about 10 minutes at a steady pace). Underground line is nearby and busses also close. Breakfast is easy and good value. The hotel serves evening meals (need to order) but some in our party were not overly impressed. Plenty of restaurants nearby. I had a small problem with the electrics in my room and the staff were on it immediately and it was fixed in no time. Rooms have a small fridge and also a safe for personal items. Overall it's a very good hotel for the purpose stated. I would use it again.

For using the metro, this hotel is perfect as there is the manzoni metro station directly outside the hotel. Rooms very nice, good shower & comfortable bed. The location is okay, although not many options for eating. You will have to travel for a decent meal. Avoid restaurant in hotel, however the bar is fantastic. Can't go wrong for a city break to Rome.

Booked this hotel for our stay in Rome, the hotel is old and outdated. We reached early and were asked to come back or wait as check in was at 2 pm, so to kill 2 hrs we left our luggage at the reception and asked to use the toilets. The hotel toilets are worse than public toilets, water and paper everywhere. Once we got our room we quickly got our bags and made our way to the room. The first thing that greets you when you enter the room is this bad smell of some cheap room freshener they use after cleaning the room, eeeks, it just lingers on. When we asked one of the cleaners he said this is a room freshener , if you don't like it please open the windows , We had to open doors and windows to let some fresh air in. Not a good idea to check in straight after lunch. We called the Reception to check if they could move us to a different room but they said no even though we told them about the smell and that there is mound on ceiling in the bathroom, and chipped wood everywhere. I don't know why they write they will try to make our stay comfortable when surely that's not what's happening here. It even says in their little book in the room, please let reception know if there are any issues with the room and they will try to help you. I would not like to stay here again and would not recommend this place if you are looking for quality and comfort.

We arrived by train and it was an easy walk to the hotel..OR there is a metro station right outside the hotel! Also easy walk to the colosseum...of the tram and bus stops are on the cirner. I didnt find the local area as bad as other reviewers..it had character. The room was spacious, breakfast buffet great value, friendly staff, able to leave luggage after check out, kettle in room. All good....but why the polystyrene cups for coffee and tea? Surely some crockery is not hard to provide?

Note: We stayed here Dec 2017- Jan 2018 (I know! it's been half a year!) For our stay in Rome, I booked about 3 other hotels before finally settling with Best Western Hotel President. And we were not disappointed! Below are some of the criteria I always consider in booking a hotel and might help anyone looking for one too. Location: Literally 5 seconds away from the lobby to the steps of the Manzoni Metro Line (Vatican, Termini) and about a minute away from the tram that could take you to the Coliseum. The only downside is that there aren't much around it and it can be a bit scary. Bedroom: We booked the Economy Double Room and it was huge! And it was a really nice room. I couldn't say anything else about it. Bathroom: It was a modern bathroom. It was really nice as well. The shower was a bit small though. We're asians and we felt it was narrow! Checkin: Very quick check-in. We didn't have any trouble and was right up to our room. We just didn't find the staff very hospitable. Perhaps they were tired or not happy working during the holidays (I would be!). But it's fine I guess, it's the peak season after all. WIFI: Wifi was great! Fast and free! We encountered no problems with the Wifi. Interiors: The interiors are fine. A bit old I would say, but it's still okay. Breakfast: The breakfast was just too much! Haha! The breakfast staff we're awesome! I cannot say enough good things about them! For 5 euros per person., it's darn worth it! Service: Honestly, apart from the breakfast staff, the service of the others we encountered were unfortunately forgettable. Sidenote: There are only 2 lifts. They are quite small and slow. :( Overall, we would still recommend Hotel President! The location is great, price point is acceptable, breakfast is awesome, and rooms are fine. Recommended!

Clean, fully staffed and centrally located, it was a great place to visit busy Rome.The hotel is beautiful inside and so was the room, especially the large modern bathroom complete with a Bidet and and plumbing fixtures I would love to have at home. The included breakfast was a complete buffet and the food in the dining room was excellent.

This hotel was reasonably priced and in walking distance from the Colosseum. The location is also in walking distance from awesome restaurants. Ask the front desk personal for suggestions , they were great. The subway was right outside the hotel for easy acces to the Vatican and other attractions. Clean rooms.

From the moment we checked in late at night the front desk staff was 10+.Helping us with luggage, recommendations on how to get to tourist sites fast and with the least cost, two great dining recommendations. The morning buffet breakfast was certainly worth the 6 Euros, what did it not have !! Even serving capicinos!! Great location right next to the Metro station which takes you everywhere for a very economic price

Our hotel eas very nice inside very modern and clean. Even the soaps and lotions provided were good quality. There is breakfast available and they have a bar. The staff was more than helpfull and spoke english and spanish ti make communincating easier. Good location right on a metro and bus line.

Loved it, room was modern and clean, bed was comfy. Perfect stay for 2 nights while we toured Rome. Even loved the mag mirror in bathroom. We also enjoyed 2 restaurants recommended by the wonderful front desk staff, very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, especially the cappuccino,Thank you Best Western Presidente!

Great service. House keeping was excellent. Nice to have a cell phone in the room to use. We had a view at the back which are apartments but it was quiet. Hotel does not look like much from the front but it is very nice.

I arrived at the hotel in my car , I'd had a small bump in the car before arriving and I needed to go to the police and the make car dealership the hotel were very helpful they sent a member of staff along with me to translate LJ , I had the car returned five days later all good. I would like to thank Marco and all his wonderful staff at the hotel for making my stay comfortable and relaxing after the accident,this hotel deserves its high ratings position .

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. the rooms are clean and comes with a smart phone that you can use to make local calls and has cellular data so you really dont have to buy a local sim. The hotel is just a 10minute walk away from the colosseum and it is just right beside the metro. Highly recommended!

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, our room was very clean, comfy bed, variety of pillows to choose from, Bathroom was also clean with complimentary toiletries, white fluffy towels, plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet with helpful staff. Reception staff approachable & answered our numerous questions, Metro station just outside the hotel which helped after busy days sightseeing. The only negative for this hotel is the polyfoam cups in the room not what I would expect from a Great Western Hotel. I would definately stay here again if I visit Rome again.

This hotel provides basic facilities , clean and comfortable beds. No swimming pool or any entertainment, the restaurant serves basic Italian food. Very close to Manzoni metro station. Few restaurants near by , the best is up the road call Romantica, there are few small corner shops to buy your water and train tickets.

The President is in a good location and is only 50 metres away from the Manzoni subway, we found the subway was the best way to get around and a 3 day pass is only 18 euros, well worth it. The positives about The President are cleanliness, modern, professional the breakfast is ok. The room is not a bad size, ours had 3 beds, it was ok for the 4 days we were there but may have been a bit claustrophobic if we had stayed longer. A big downside was the tea tray, polystyrene cups, and for 3 people enough for 1 cup each per day not much of a choice. overall the hotel is a good choice for a short break

I love the amenities of this hotel. It is a self contained hotel that accommodates anything you might need. There is a nice, more than reasonably priced breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner as well as have a bar in the evenings. The staff is very professional and attentive to your needs. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is of good size with a great shower. The walls are somewhat thin but we came prepared with earplugs and a white noise app on our phone. Worked well. Easy walk to the coliseum area and a metro stop right out the door for exploring other parts of the city.

We stayed here for our four day city break, and I can't recommend it more. A perfect base with a short walk to the Colosseum,next to the metro and they provided the manet smartphone at no cost. The smartphone gave us all tourist info and directions we needed, what a fantastic service offered by the president hotel. To top it off the staff are lovely, highly recommend!

Stayed here for a city break, great location to visit sites. Approx 10 minute stroll from Colusium and there is a good selection of places to eat. This is also where you can use Hop on Hop off buses. Next to metro underground station to also help exploring. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, excellent selection of choice availability on a self service basis. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. Lifts available if required. Room smallish but very comfortable and definitely recommend as a base to explore Rome.

I'd suggest this hotel if you want to save some money, stay in a nice/safe place, don't mind it not being too luxurious, need comfortable room, helpful staff, and don't mind at least a 10 minute walk to the city. It's worth it for the price! The AC works well, bed was comfortable, lots of nice pillows, staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel has a breakfast buffet for only 5 extra euro. And a bar that has pretty inexpensive good drinks. It's not the most luxurious, but you can't go wrong for the price. The one major downside is that the walls are very thin. There were several times where I heard my neighbors in the room next to me talking, or their kids playing. It didn't disturb my sleep, but it something that could be noteworthy.It's a decent location: about a 10 minute walk to the coliseum, which is the beginning of a whole world of site seeing. The 10 minute walk is safe, but it's not scenic in any way. Then it's about another 10 minute or 10 Euro cab ride to all the nightlife. My room was nice, on the 7th floor, and even had a balcony! Again, not the most luxurious, but it's a great deal for the price. Has a gym, though you probably won't need to use it because of all the walking you'll do in Rome. Complimentary WiFi is powerful and works everywhere in the building.

My husband and I spent a memorable weeks holiday at this hotel. The staff at this hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful in particular the reception staff especially Luca who was a most helpful and courteous young man. The hotel is within easy reach of the coliseum and Forum and is right beside the subway system which can take you to all the main sites. Breakfast was included and was very good

Great location for walking to our using public transport to get to places of interest. Mobile phone provided free of charge an excellent bonus - used it every day, in particular to find our way around the city and locate places of interest and places to eat. Staff really friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. Food in house good too - easy to have a snack / meal in the bar area. Buffet breakfast with plenty of selection, although coffee available at breakfast very bitter.

This hotel is right by the metro and the bus/tram stop. It is a busy hotel but we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was an adequate size, twin beds, a fair size wardrobe and a mini fridge. Good size bathroom with a shower over the bath which was very powerful and hot. Nice toiletries also. Cleaners were great and our room was spotless. I would take earplugs as the walls are quite thin and noisy neighbours can be a problem. Breakfast was plentiful and a varied choice. I have only given it 4stars because we ate in the restaurant in the evenings (I would advise you book a table because it is very small) and always found the food to be just warm, not hot so unless you are a fast eater it goes cold quickly. All in all a nice stay and a good hotel to spend your time in.

Absolutely brilliant hotel with quick and easy access to the metro right outside, free WiFi, great choice for breakfast and very comfortable rooms, with all the mod cons, fridge bar, kettle cups, tea coffee etc, the only downside is the use of polystyrene cups in the room for tea/ coffee etc,soaps, shower gel, shampoo, shower cap and shoe shine sponge included, good bar with meals available.

We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2018. It is a great location, a comfortable 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and most of the major attractions of Rome. Public transportation is handy too although we chose to walk. The room was typical European, small bathroom with only a shower and of course, no facecloths. The morning breakfast buffet was very reasonably priced and the best we encountered in a month of travel in Malta and Italy. The bar in the lobby actually serves a very decent dinner, not a big menu but adequate and excellent prices compared to everything else in Rome.

We checked in in the morning but the room was bad prepared: a lot of dust everywhere, toilet dirty ... We ask to have it cleaned properly and we left. We came back after 8 hours, but nothing has been done in the meantime even if they told us that they did. So I guess this is the way they clean the rooms...

The hotel is situated very close to the metro and about 1 Km from the Colosseum. We were situated on the 1st floor at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet although we had no view. The room was spacious with a large bathroom/wet room designed for the disabled. The hotel provided a smartphone with "Manet" installed. We could access maps and recommendations for restaurants etc. It also included audio guides to some of the highlights of Rome and could guide us back to the hotel if we were lost! A great idea that I have never seen before. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety catering for all tastes. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Couldn't have got a better hotel to stay in for our mini break in Rome. Located right opposite the metro, rooms were clean, breakfast was cheap and had an excellent choice. Highly recommend. Room was really quiet

Stayed one night while working in Rome. I got a room with a view of the Colliseum but also quiet as on a high floor. Therefore a very nice nights sleep. The room was quite small but modern and well equipped. Breakfast was a buffet but was very nice with good choice and tasty.

Had a great time staying at this hotel. It was clean, bright, the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was two stops on the Metro to the station terminus but we mainly walked the 20 minutes back and forward as the Metro was a nightmare. We would definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased with this hotel and our room was a good size with comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping service. Defintely worthwhile adding in the reasonable extra cost for breakfast which we found had good variety and quality of breakfast foods. Could be busy in the breakfast area, but people generally move along and don't linger too long so you don't usually have to wait for a place to sit. Great hotel location with the metro a short 5 minute walk away and easy walking to various restaurants or to pick up odds and ends. Quiet for the most part for sleeping. Concierge and staff very helpful (except for one person at the front desk) We would defintely recommend staying at this hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Rome within an escorted group. The booking was made by the tour operator. The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean, modern, and decently decorated, and the breakfast is good. The hotel is walking distance (15-20 mins) from the main historic sites and well placed for buses, trams and Metro. However the noise from the road made sleep very intermittent. We had a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the street, which is the position of almost all the accommodation. For most of each night we were disturbed by loud motor bikes, sirens on emergency vehicles (sometimes even at the dead of night) and squealing trams. I found sleep impossible without ear plugs, despite having the double glazed window tight shut and the metal shutter closed. A basic requirement for a hotel is to be able to provide a decent night's sleep. Therefore I cannot recommend this place unless you are used to sleeping through a serious level of city uproar.

Clean, friendly and affordable. Very pleased with staff and accommodations. And some very good restaurants nearby. Better than many Best Western hotels we've stayed at in the US. Modern bathroom, large bedroom and great housekeeping services. Lobby bar affordable and wecoming. Restaurant was great with a very nice selection of meals. Breakfast was fantastic with a very large selection of foods to choose from.

Our room was on the front of the hotel over the street and noisy at night.Very well appointed room, We had the standard double so two beds pushed together with a crevasse in the middle. Mattress was comfortable. Breakfast was 5 euro per day with assortment of breads, meats, cheese, fruits, and a cool pancake machine. The runny eggs and soggy bacon weren't to my American taste.The staff was friendly and welcoming. The bar was wonderful with a great competent bartender. Food offered was very good (Roman chicken, pizza, etc) House wine was 2 euro a glass and amazing. The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the Colleseum and located right over a metro station. The neighborhood offered few restaurant choices and was dirty. The female desk clerk marred the stay with her unfriendly rude treatment. A nice hotel overall.

On a very recent short break to Rome I chose this hotel on reviews and personal experiences of other BW hotels. I was not disappointed as the room was clean, tidy, well appointed and comfortable. The restaurant was delightfully decorated, spacious and with efficient and dedicated staff it made dining a pleasant experience. I had breakfast on each day of my stay and there was a very wide range of food available that was always beautifully prepared. Located within yards of the Rome Metro, tram and bus services and a short walk to the Colosseum the hotel was placed perfectly for my needs. With a good bar and extensive evening meal menu I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to visit Rome and the President again soon.

The following is my opinion on my experience for the time Myself and my partner stayed 1-4 April 2018. The hotel is situated right outside a metro station. It was really as to get to and from everywhere using the metro. The coliseum is only ten minutes away on foot. The hotel was clean, tidy and well presented. The reception staff were all, friendly and very helpful for all of our needs. They all spoke excellent English. The staff at Breakfast were just as polite and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The bed comfortable and clean. The bathroom was the same. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, however we had no issues. Some morning noise. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were good. So was mini bar and safe. Overall a great place to stay, I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here from 10/28/17-10/31/17. Of all the hotels we stayed in for the two week duration of our trip, this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. The location is great, right off the subway exit and is about a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum/The Forum. If you really enjoy walking and are into exploring the city via your own walking tour, then this hotel is also a good location to other key sites like the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish steps and Altare della'Patria. Also, because it is right by the train station, it makes it easy to get to Vatican City, if that's one of your destinations. Additionally, it's about 3 blocks away from a non-touristy, quaint little mom & pop restaurant “Hostaria I Buoni Amici,” which I highly recommend. The hotel and rooms are very clean and spacious, compared to other hotels in Europe. Each room has a complimentary mobile phone that you can take with you to navigate the city. For a small fee, they also offer a very good breakfast with a nice selection of local and American options. Additionally, they have a children's breakfast station with kid friendly food items, and arts and crafts. Stayed here for a couple of nights over Easter and really glad I chose this one over the others I looked at. Clean and comfortable rooms at reasonable prices with fast WiFi and a really good shower for once in a hotel!! Located within 15 minutes of the colosseum on foot and a metro station literally outside the door. Staff very friendly and helpful with advice on how to get around and where to eat. We ate at the hotel for dinner but not breakfast and was a little disappointed with the choice of food but the quality was ok and not expensive. Only gripe- polystyrene cups in the room for your tea / coffee rather than china ones which for a 4* is simply not good enough but in no way did this detract from a wonderful stay.

The standard of the hotel is not the latest. It is clean and well maintained. BReakfast has most of what one can ask for. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Easy check in/out. Prices ok for the the hotel standard.

A really good hotel with an amazing breakfast! The rooms are very clean and modern and the staff are very friendly and helpful. While it is not right in the centre of the city, it is 50 metres from the Manzoni Metro Station, so access to all the sights is very easy and cheap. You can also walk to the Colosseum in 15 minutes. The breakfast is fantastic and the bar is not overpriced - UK pub prices, unlike the centre of Rome!

Well priced. Very close to the Metro and therefore easy to get into the centre of Rome. A shortish walk to the Colosseum. Rooms are a reasonable size, clean and the beds are comfortable. Our room overlooked the main road but traffic noise wasn't intrusive. Staff were helpful. Breakfasts were okay.

We were put here for the night as our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. We stayed in Hotel Artemide for four nights which is also four star.You cannot compare the two hotels . Artemide was outstanding on all levels.This was average at best.Clean room,comfy bed,room quite large for Rome.The room was cold with a bath which had rust in it and s shower which was fine.Polystyrene cups for tea and coffee! Breakfast was edible.dodgy looking sausage and bacon.??.we stuck to toast and boiled egg.Lots of stodgy cakes and croissants. Staff were pleasant enough.Hotel was clean . Overall it's ok.But I wouldn't choose it should I return to Rome .

We spent the night here after our flight home was cancelled, the hotel is nice, the staff are friendly, the breakfast was good. We walked to the colleseum- about 10 mins. Rooms clean and comfy and spacious.

We got delayed from the poor weather and was taken by our really rubbish travel company Jet2 to this hotel to stay the night when we got here it was a total shock to our system as this hotel was amazing the staff where out of this world and couldn't be anymore help-full such a difference from the Horrid hotel Cilicia that was like a scene from the horror movie psycho. We had an amazing room at hotel president and the meal at the bar was amazing and very cheap as was the drinks wish we had stayed here. Would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Rome. The breakfast was out of this world also. Thank you for a great last night in Rome HOTEL PRESIDENT.

I came to stay here with my partner & a bunch of friends for the Six Nations rugby in February 2018. The staff were polite & friendly, the hotel was clean & modern. All in all we had a very good stay. You are looking at about 35 minute taxi from the airport or you can catch a train from the airport to the Termini & then hop on the Metro a couple stops which takes you right outside the hotel. Breakfast was good, continental, very good choice. There is an open bar near the reception which we found very reasonable. The hotel is located on an intersection which is very busy so be prepared in the mornings if you have a room facing the road to have some noise, trams, busses & cars all loving to "toot" their horns are all too apparent, this would be the only down side which is no fault to the hotel, we were on the 7th floor and could clearly hear the Italians love for horn blowing! Would I stay there again? Having gone to Rome on a few occasions I would say Hotel Universal from Best Western wins it slightly better for location and low noise pollution. One last note which is the really downside was the hotel recommended Bistro Al 133 a one minute walk from the hotel. DO NOT EVEN ENTERTAIN IT! 10 of us went there on the hotels recommendation and we got well & truly ripped off, seasoned travellers all of us have never come across such an experience, but that review is for my next write up under their restaurant, i just wish the hotel do not recommenced this place as it left a nasty feeling amongst us all.

Stayed at the hotel in August 2017. It is a fairly good hotel with good connectivity. Most of the attractions are walking distance from the hotel and others can be reached easily by bus. We couldn't use the metro station that was just a stone's throw away from the hotel as it was under repair when we visited the place. The breakfast buffet spread was good, being a vegetarian, even I came across adequate eating options. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was average, not very friendly but we hardly stayed at the hotel and were busy exploring Rome. FYI for all other travelers, a per night stay tax is imposed on the room rent when you check out from the hotel. We had booked through a travel agent and were not aware of it as it was an all paid for trip. This is a norm across Italy and so better be prepared for it.

The hotel was a standard Best Western, with typical European amenities. Easy access to Metro, and within walking distance of the Colosseum. The staff was friendly and helpful, and all spoke English. I would recommend this place to Americans traveling to Rome. They also were helpful in recommending a reasonably-priced restaurant with fine food and outdoor seating.

Stayed in May 2017. The hotel is in good location, just next to metro station and around 20 minutes walk from Roma Central Station. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Colosseum. Check in was fast and the staff was efficient. I opted for single room and it was really small but comfortable. The bathroom was also small but was convenient. Breakfast was nice and I liked my stay. Nice hotel, recommended for those who want to explore the city by own.

This hotel was a perfect base for exploring Rome. Right next to the metro stop and a ten minute walk from the colleseum. Well priced and good sized, clean rooms. Great bathroom! Arrived early but were able to check in. Breakfast also good, large selection but mainly cold food choices other than eggs. Would stay again.

Excellent hotel in a cracking location. Metro stop literally outside the front door, so very quick and easy to get around the East side of the city. Alternatively you can of course walk everywhere. The Colosseum and Roman Forum is a 10 minute walk, and then it's very easy to walk on from there to see all the sights. It truly is worth walking the city because there is something to see around every corner. The hotel itself was excellent, although rooms at the front can be noisy, big breakfast for €5, good restaurants close by, friendly/professional staff. If you're here to watch FC Roma, you need to get to Flaminio Metro stop next to Piazza del Popolo, which is either 20 minutes on the Metro from the hotel, or a lovely walk across the city. From Flaminio you catch the tram outside which takes about 15 minutes to the stadium; you can buy a ticket from the newsagent by the stop or just use your Metro ticket. After the match it was surprisingly easy to catch a tram back.

They provided a smartphone that offered free GPS outside of the hotel - this was AMAZING, as we did not have to pay the extra cost for data on our own smartphones just to get around the city. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious with so much food for a great price!

Essentially, we arrived in Best Western Hotel President on Friday, 22nd December 2017 in the afternoon having travelled to Rome via a flight operated by ALITALIA S.P.A. I was with my wife and with my son. We departed from at 1745hrs and arrived in Fiumicino Airport at around 1900hrs. We had three luggage, 30******87 in my son's name, 30******88 in my wife's name and 30******89 in my name. When we went to collect our luggage from the conveyor belt, my luggage, i.e. 30******89, did not arrive. Ironically, I mentioned this to the reception whilst checking-in and I was told that this happens frequently but at some stage the luggage is found! I reported the case to Fiumicino Airport authorities who immediately filed a formal report, of which I was given a copy immediately. On Wednesday 27th December 2017 at approximately 2220hrs, we received a phone call in our Hotel room and my wife was told that our missing Luggage was due to be delivered to our room within minutes. Indeed, the lost Luggage was returned to my Hotel Room and my wife and my son are witnesses to the delivery that took place around 2230 hours, i.e. 5½ days after our arrival in the Hotel . I was not given any written report from the Hotel porter and when I asked for it he told me that he will have to ask his superiors for this. The following morning, i.e. Thursday 28th December 2017, I have requested the receptionist for the report but I was advised that the Manager was not available and that he would be available on Friday 29th December 2017. More surprisingly, I was informed that my (lost) luggage was actually received by the Best Western Hotel President via Emanuele Filiberto 173 Rome, Italy, on the 23rd December 2017 in the evening. I was shocked, to say the least, when I heard this as it simply meant that the Best Western Hotel President has negligently held my luggage including my personal belongings and fine clothing (for Christmas), in its' custody for over 5½ days. As you can appreciate, since this was my personal luggage, I had no alternative other than that to replace all my personal belongings since I did not have anything with me other than the clothes I travelled with. I tried to drag my feet as much as possible, however in view of the fact that we had specific invitations for Christmas Eve and Christmas, I had to simply purchase replacement items before the Christmas festivities themselves. The cost of these, which is clearly supported by ORIGINAL Receipts, is what it is. The items include, Toiletries, Underwear, Clothes and adequate clothing for Christmas Eve and Christmas. To add insult to injury, when the Luggage was returned to the Hotel from Alitalia on Saturday 23rd December, it had a TAG, which I still have in my possession, which clearly indicated my NAME and MOBILE NUMBER. Here, the Hotel did not even bother to contact me……………. Clearly, I have incurred all these expenses due to the negligence of Best Western Hotel President, and despite my attempts to get a compensation from the Hotel, they literally ignored my pressure even though they have explicitly admitted that it was their fault NOT to have given me the luggage as soon as they received it from Alitalia.

Stayed Christmas to New Years Eve. Family trip with our two teenage sons. We had a two room “suite” that worked well for our family. The rooms are updated/modern and very clean. The rooms are “European” so they are small but have all the needs. We had an inside room not facing the interior courtyard (not the street) and it was quiet and private. The staff was very helpful and spoke English. The morning breakfast was the usual European breakfast and could use some variety from day to day but for 5 euros it was a good value. The location is good, close to the subway and rail cars. Taxis are dirt cheap in Rome and we took taxis the entire trip. The bar and restaurant are doable and affordable. We found great local restaurants and a grocery store within a Few blocks. No regrets, solid 4 star hotel and experience.

We just left hotel with my familiy. Amazing features: 5 meters from metro, you can go walking to major city center attractions, great very rare in europe customer services and finally great food at good price fro breakfast and late dinner after full day. Rooms are well equiped and new. Do not expect luxury but very good quality overall.

Amazing service and quality of staff, the location it´s great you can move to anywhere in Rome frome there, you can go walking to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum from there, has a Subway Station just out side the hotel.

Our recent stay at this hotel was fantastic. The staff will "bend over backwards" for any request. Extremely informative and helpful. The location of the Metro station (right outside the door!) was a bonus. Although there weren't many good eating spots immediately nearby, we found that it was easy to jump on the metro and head to an area with more variety. ( We purchased a 48 hour travel ticket and really got our value for money!- many of the tourist attractions are on the same metro line!) Only a short 12-15 minute walk from the Colosseum and Roman Forum as well. Oh: and their huge breakfast meant that we could last until dinner!!

Good price for the service. Nice view on city. Tea is available in the room. Great location - it is possible to reach Colosseum or Central Station (Termini) on foot in less than 20 minutes. Hotel is located near Metro station. City tax and breakfast might not be included in the price.

Was a comfortable large room. The decor was bright, the bed comfortable and great pillows. The shower was hot with strong pressure - walking distance to several nice restaurants. Caters to the American market - Free wifi was nice and also provided a "free Manet Smart Phone" for use while in Rome. Location was a bit remote but we were shuttled everywhere so not an issue.

Hotel was lovely, room was spacious and quiet. We had a room at the back of the hotel. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum, and less than 10 minutes in an Uber to the city centre. Great Breakfast and would stay again.

Our tour was in the hotel for three nights and I did not hear one negative comment. The rooms are probably the best we have stayed in on the trip. Spacious, clean, and well maintained. The breakfast was again the best on our trip with great variety. Dinners were nothing real special but we were on a trip menu so the choices were limited. Over all, this was our best hotel out of the five we stayed in.

We booked a four night city break to Rome with Riviera Travel, they were excellent. We have travelled with Riviera Travel on city breaks before and will do so again. The tour manager was knowledgeable, showed us around both by coach and on foot. The hotel President was comfortable, has a good breakfast buffet and a reasonably priced evening meal, though there are typically Italian restaurants close by. The Colliseum is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The main road is a bit noisy but can request a rear facing room.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights the rooms were very good clean and comfortable,the restaurant is very nice a good selection of food for breakfast ,a nice menu choices for evening meals if you wish to eat in the hotel .

The hotel is situated in a perfect area! 2 metro stations from Termini railway station, but you can walk too, is not that big distance. From the hotel to Coloseum or to San Giovanni in Laterano Church is 10 minutes... The staff is very friendly, especially the blond waitress-don't remember her name The food is very good. I totally recomand this hotel

My wife and I spent 3 nights here in early October and were very pleased. Hotel room was comfortable and average size by Europe standard. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of options. Front desk were great with directions and any help needed. Hotel is located about 50 ft. from Metro which makes getting around city very easy. About 20 minute walk to Colisseum or quick metro ride.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October. This is a comfortable hotel, with tea and coffee making facilities in your room which we found is rare in Italy. Room was large, quiet and bed very comfortable. Ask for a room on the rear of hotel as hotel is situated on a busy junction and other travellers said it was noisy in rooms on front. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, lots of choice but average quality and the self service coffee was awful and the fruit juices tasted like they were flavoured water. You can order a cappuccino or espresso from the waiters but we found it so busy at breakfast it was difficult to get their attention as they were rushed off their feet. We were successful on our last day and the cappuccino was fabulous. The hotel is located near to metro station so really handy for getting up to the key sites. It is also a short walk (15-20 mins) from colosseum and forum, also San Clemente church which is definitely worth a visit to see the excavations underneath. Lots of good places to eat near by and would recommend Le Virtu in Tavola, via Domenic Fontana 26/28

Great staff, great family room (did have kettle and mini fridge). For air con to work make sure you have shut the window properly. Only one socket works when room cards not plugged in. So make sure iPad in this one when you go out. Breakfast was good, caters for many different nationalities tastes. Staff all very friendly and approachable & arranged transfers. Only down side and their has to be one for the price is location. Not many eateries within walking distance you need to use the public transport, this said it is on the door. If went back to Rome would stay here again.

We stayed here for four nights with Riviera Travel. A good base , breakfast was fine, plenty of choice, didn't eat there in the evening but were told it's quite cheap and reasonable. The bar is pleasant. Many rooms face the street so were very noisy at night.

We spent four nights at the Best Western President in September and can't wait to return! It's ideally located within walking distance to major attractions and a metro station just a stone's throw away from the hotel. The first night of our holiday we were in a room that faced onto the street, which was rather noisy. However, the next day we moved to a courtyard-facing room, which was much quieter. The hotel was clean and tidy throughout, as were the rooms and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great with a really good choice of fruit, pastries, cereals, cold meats and cheese and a couple of hot dishes. Each morning in the restaurant we were greeted with a warm smile and nothing was too much trouble for the attentive breakfast team. When we are able to make another trip to Rome, our favourite city, we will definitely be returning to this hotel. We highly recommend it!

The hotel is 0.5 mile from the Termini station and steps away from a subway stop. The access to the subway makes this a very convenient location. It is also within a 20 minute brisk walk to the Colosseum. The neighborhood the hotel is in has no attractions and there are not many good restaurants. The staff was very professional and helpful and the hotel felt clean and maintained. I wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel but it was a reasonable price and an easy option for Rome. Great breakfast!

This hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Public transportation very near by and good restaurants near by also. Breakfast was also good with lots of choices. This hotel was close to near by sightseeing places

This hotel provides spacious. clean rooms, nice bathrooms, and a very nice breakfast buffet. It is located a short walk from a couple of beautiful churches and a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. Best part of the location however is that public transportation is available right outside the door - street car and subway stops.

This was probably the best hotel we stayed in throughout our Italy stay. Although the street seems a bit run down, the hotel and all its facilities is very clean and modern. The best thing about this hotel was probably the 5 Euro buffet breakfast every morning! It was great with many options. Location is quite good with the train station right in front and only a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Our room was big and spacious with a nice big window overlooking the street and one of the most comfiest beds I've slept in. This is a good place to stay!

Colosseum just over 10 minute walk even in searing August heat. Justifiably four star standard. Breakfast restaurant staff very professional. When they offer you fresh brewed coffee this is first rate much better than the self service option. Special thanks to Ireneo who is welcoming, attentive and has genuine delight in serving you. However, we had requested a quiet room but our neighbours were noisy insomniacs who sung like talent show rejects in the wee small hours. Plus noise of running water behind our bed head. When we brought this to the attention of reception staff, initially not very helpful. However by evening we had been given an executive room and had peace. The larger rooms bathrooms are behind the bedheads of standard rooms which solved the nocturnal waterfall noises. Despite this issue after it was resolved, I would not hesitate to stay at The Hotel President upon a future visit to Rome.

We enjoyed our stay in Best Western hotel in Rome very much. Manzony station is right in front of the hotel linking the passengers to different locations. The room was clean and tidy and it's renovation has put an added value to it. Breakfast was super and the staff professional & kind. I should also express my appreciation to Mr. Ubaldo & Ms Beatrice for their kind services to the guests at the front desk.

Near the main station and 2 superb museums. OK for groups. Rooms clean and comfortable but 2 single beds! Shower door did not close properly so floor got wet. Breakfast quite good but very busy so allow extra time. Only 3 lifts and they are small so if you have luggage it takes a while.

Stayed here in August for four nights and couldn't recommend it enough. Air conditioning was amazing, beds are super comfy, breakfast was nice and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. You are literally a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum, they hotel also provide you with a phone in your room which you can take out to use for GPS etc found this extremely helpful! In regards to people saying about the noise, yeah the walls are thin but it isn't too bad and no matter where you stay in Rome you are going to hear outside... after all you are staying in a city! The rooms have a electronic shutter as well which I found to block out the outside noise a bit, so really wasn't a bother. There is signs at the desk explaining the city tax... but maybe when checking in the reception staff could maybe point it out as the only reason I knew about it was because I had read on here, just so people know to keep money aside for the end of their trip. But I Would 100% stay here again!!

5 days and trust me the hotel staff were awesome, but the rooms were just good (as this is everywhere in Europe it seems). The room was little small but it was nice, cool and clean. Its very good in this budget. The sad part is that there was no meat expect pork (not even chicken) during breakfast. Though they have very good quality of cheese and breads. I enjoyed my stay there.

Air conditioning was a welcome respite on the hot days! The room was clean and although a bit small, it was comfortable and cozy. Staff are friendly and the restaurant + breakfast selection seemed fantastic. It's not located right at the center, but is located near several bus stops and the ever-punctual metro line.

This was my first time in Rome and I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was updated and clean. The only thing I hated was the super tiny elevators. The rooms were good sized, and the staff were very kind. It is within walking distance to the Colosseum and many different restaurants.

We choose this hotel for its location and its close proximity to the metro only to find out that the metro was under construction. This was disappointing but more so that the hotel never informed us which made getting there more difficult. Otherwise the hotel accommodations worked well for our family of 4 with separate single beds for our children in our room.

I spent two nights with my wife and two children of 8yo and 11yo in august 2017. The position of the hotel is very handy - just next to the underground stop and close to the bus and metro stop. It is possible to reach the city centre (Piazza Venezia, Via del Corso) in 10minutes). There are shops for food and drinks next to the hotel. The room was not very big but very comfortable; it was split in two separate areas by a sliding (and lockable) door. The kids area had two single beds, bathroom, desk and TV. The parents area had double bed, bedside tables, bathroom and TV. Each area had laminate wooden floor, its own window with roller shutter blinds and separate air conditioning. The bathrooms were new, sized shower rooms and clean. The staff was nice, friendly and helpfull. There is a risto-bar next to the hall where we had dinner twice. We had been given a 20% off voucher for dinner. The breakfast was great. Would recommed.

We ventured into Italy staying at some exclusive hotels from Rome to Amalfi and back, we loved Italy and decided to extend our stay, since this was just a little more icing on our Italy “cake” when slummed it at the 4 star Hotel President and let me tell you there is very little difference between this hotel and a 5 star. The breakfast amazing, the service second to none! Anything you require dial 9 on your room phone and they will send up quickly. The shower hot and good water flow! Soft beds! Safe,Hangers mini fridge stocked! Dark blinds, lots of plugs and adapters! Complimentary cell phone with internet. Luxury transfers! Great Stay right by the Collesuem!

Location: Pretty good. Tram, metro and buses literally around the corner. Colosseum was only 3 stops on the tram and Termini only 2-3 stops on the bus. Be careful for pickpocketers on public transport as our wallet was taken at the tram station next to the hotel, but this is a widespread problem anyways and nothing specific to the hotel. Rooms: Good. Not the most amazing room but overall relatively clean. One of the plugs in our room had come out of the wall with all wires exposed and the floor was quite dusty but beds were super comfy (as well as sofa bed) and rooms were modern with a nice TV. Service: Great. All staff really nice and helpful. Breakfast: Definitely one of the biggest perks. For €5, it really is a steal. A great range of foods that include pancakes, different types of eggs, cereal, breads, croissants, cakes, make your own salads and many cold cuts. Served from 6:30-10:30. Very impressed. Overall would definitely stay again if price stays reasonable.

A good hotel for our few days in Rome, rooms are comfortable although quite dark . The metro is almost outside which is really convenient for Vatican station is on the same line.. . The Coliseum is an easy 10 minute walk from there it was easy to find your way to some of the other sights.. hotel staff are very pleasant ,breakfast is okay though the quality of some of the food is a little average.... The children loved the do it yourself pancake machine. We struggled to find a nice restaurant nearby and a couple of the recommendations from the hotel worked out to be very expensive. We would recommend eating in the hotel itself as although it had a great limited menu it was very reasonably priced and the food was better than some of the other local ones. Overall a reasonably priced and pleasant location in Rome

Not too far from colleseum or several of the other attractions there. Great service. Even had spare cell phones you could use while you stayed at the hotel for when you were out and about for a very small fee.

Great location / exactly next to the Metro station. The breakfast was wonderful with all variations of cuts, sweets, cereals, the stuff very helpful. The comfortable beds guaranteed relax after the long day.

I have rarely had a good hotel in Rome, this time was different. I was really surprised, this hotel was really nice, breakfast was great, the service from all personnel was very good and professional and the rooms were really really nice. Very well located, only 1.5kms away from the colosseum and other tourist attractions. Highly recommended. It's a full on 4 star hotel.

Excelent hotel. I travel with a mobility scooter and it couldn't get into the elevator, The hotel let us park it close to reception so that it could be charged. The gave us a wheelchair that could fit into the elevator. They put out a ramp for me every time I wanted to go out or in to the hotel. We had an accessible shower which was great. The room & bathroom were quite large and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Everyone tried to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was great with a large variety of food. Would definately recommend this hotel. Thank you for making our visit to Rome an enjoyable one.

The staff were so nice and they couldn't do enough for our baby of 8 months. They made special food. We had a travel cot delivered to the hotel via Amazon which was taken up to our room. So nice and friendly.

My wife and I along with a couple of friends stayed at this hotel whilst on a Riviera Travel four-night break. We had a very nice room on the sixth floor at the rear of the hotel with air conditioning, which was a blessing as other weather in Rome was in the high 30's C. We were fortunate to have a walk in shower, however we did request this when booking the holiday. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was a buffet service and was very extensive and very good quality. We ate out locally for dinner and were not disappointed. The hotel also offered a voucher for 20% discount off food if you ate at the hotel for lunch or dinner. The hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from The Coluseum. This hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Rome. I would definitely use this hotel should I venture back to Rome.

Nice large room. Great breakfast buffet, especially those little custard filled pastries, mmm. We loved walking out the door and being steps away from the Metro. It made viewing all the sites so much more pleasurable. The lobby is pretty sterile, could use a little more comfortable seating areas. We did have a room in the back so did not experience any street noise. We highly recommend.

We spent 3 nights as part of our tour group through our son's school. The location of this hotel seemed to be good (just not as Central as I would have liked but still adequate). Clean room, comfortable bed, good A/C. Wifi was very good. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. The staff was average. Elevators were extremely small which made it somewhat difficult with our very large group that was coming & going frequently. We were thrown for a loop upon arrival because there was no electricity in the room (we quickly learned that the room key had to be located in a "slot" in the room in order for it to turn on). All in all...it was an adequate hotel. Nothing fancy. Just fairly basic.

Exactly what we were looking for in a city break hotel. Reasonable big room and en suite, very clean, comfy bed, friendly staff, good continental breakfast, right beside a metro station..... although one could walk to the coliseum just as fast as taking the metro. All in all a comfortable stay.

This is my second visit to this great hotel and very reasonably priced. Lovely sized rooms, clean and very good facilities. Breakfast good quality. Walking distance to historic sites. Reception are pleasant and helpful, would be happy to stay again.

Great location, close to metro and tourist attractions. Breakfast buffet for 3 Euros is a good deal. Internet connection is free and good speed. Room was a bit tiny and so was the bed. Bathroom was clean and adequate

Exceptional experience at Hotel President, they were very wonderful! Moreover, they provide an excellent service: a smartphone that you find directly in your room that permits to make unlimited international calls and offers sereveral tourist services. It is absolutely a brilliant idea; this phone was great. I went for some shopping to the Castel Romano Outlet and I had a further 10% discount just showing the device. That was really cool!

Just returned from a 4 night break with a tour group, after reading some of the reviews here I e-mailed the hotel and requested a quiet room, we got a room facing a courtyard and it was noise free, very pleased with that response to my request. Room was comfortable with kettle and safe, maids very helpful when our kettle would not work and we had another within 5 minutes. Reception staff helped us with advise on buses and taxis, even to the time we should allow to get to a destination and an estimated cost. We had on lunch and one dinner in the bar and food was we were happy with the food. We ate at restaurant 133 near the hotel which our tour rep recommended, just over the road so very convenient but the food nearer the Colosseum much better and cheaper....Breakfast had a very good selection and we were spoilt for choice. Would recommend this hotel

We had some minor issues on our first day with our room.The electricity kept tripping when we switched on the lights but it was rectified and the bathroom door handle came off in my hand the first time I used it.Niggling problems and not a great start to the holiday.The hotel is in a good location about 15 minute walk to the Colisseum which If you want to jump the hop on hop off bus this is the nearest stop to the Hotel.The Hotel has a good selection for breakfast and the bar is adequately stocked.There are plenty of decent restaurants close by so there is no need to jump taxis into the heart of Rome.Top tip ask for a room at the rear because this Hotel is located on a very busy road and it is extremely noisy.

Well sited not far from St John Lateran and in 20mins walking distance of the Colosseum, Constantines Arch and the netry to the forum. Comfortable bed, good shower, pretty diverse and plentiful breakfast and ad hoc meals in the day. Good restaurants within 5 minutes walk

Very nice hotel, very reasonably priced. Lovely sized rooms, clean and very good facilities. Only missing some atmosphere and nice public space, space available a little sterile and lacking. Bar prices very good and reasonable. Breakfast good quality. Be warned if offered walking tour, it may be a lot longer than you think (8 miles today). Very close to Metro Station at Manzino and only € 1.50 per trip - obtain map at reception and purchase tickets at Tabac shops close by. On leaving Hotel turn left and first left for 15 min walk to Colloseum area. Very convenient.

My husband and I spent three days here as part of a tour group. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was excellent, but there were a few negatives to this hotel. 1) The elevators are painfully small, which was tedious when a large group is registering or checking out at one time. 2) We had to transport our own luggage as they only had one porter on duty. 3) They tried to charge us for items they claimed we used from the mini bar, even though we hadn't even opened the bar. 4) The room has the "no electricity unless your key is in the slot" system, which I guess is all the rage in Europe. (As they only gave us one key, this makes it impossible to charge any of your electronic devises when you are away from the room). 5) We found the wooden instead of carpeted floor in the room to be less comfortable to walk on. 6) The hotel is on a noisy main street, which might impact your sleeping if you're a light sleeper. All-in-all, this hotel was adequate, but the least favorite of the four that we stayed at during our Israel/Rome tour.

The hotel is in a good location not far from the Colleseum with Metro, tram and bus stops a few steps away. Our room was a good size situated at the front, we were not bothered by noise but light sleepers might ask for a room at the back. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good english, the breakfast was excellent with something to suit everybody. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We were very impressed with the room being very clean and spacious. Great size bed and bathroom! One little complaint was the noise from the traffic that could be heard through the night. This hotel is great for the location to the metro station with it being 1 minute walk. Around 15 minute walk to colosseum which is fab! Breakfast is 3 Euro per person again was very impressed with the selection. We would stay here again just ask for a room not facing the road.

hotel is located very near to mazzano metro station and it lets you to reach almost everywhere very quickly.Service in every unit has a standart and you can see professional approach of a hotel chain. Rooms interior is new, clean and room cleaning is made on a daily routine. Bathroom is modern and useful. Breakfast is very well organised.Hot drinks and a plate of donuts are served immediatly after you are seated.Delicatessen Buffet has a lot varity consisting pork and turkey.Ingridient quality is acceptable. I recommend this hotel.

Our hotel stay was friendly and conveniently located. We used to metro, which was right outside and it made our getting around Rome super convenient. The hotel staff were friendly and treated us like guests. I learned what a difference a hotel can make when I compared our hotel this year to our stay in Rome last year. Huge difference in the way we felt about the city - all for the better. The room was warm but not excessively so. We just opened the window or turned on the AC. The lobby and the bar were friendly meeting spots for others in our group and we met a number of very pleasant people who agreed with our impression of the hotel. On the down side, and it's not the hotel's fault, the street was noisy.

We had two identical rooms. First on the 2nd floor and one on the 3rd floor. Both rooms were too small but really small were beds. I am 1,70 m and bed was almost too short (I am sure it was shorter than 2 m). I didn't have measure with me but bed is not wider than 130 cm. It is not for two persons. Location of hotel is very convenient because metro station is practically at main entrance to hotel and tram station is right around the corner. Staff at front desk is helpfull. They are real profesionalls. Also good point for hotel is breakfast service. You really receive a lot for extra 3 euros.

Excellent customer service, which I somehow did not find easy in Italy. I changed my room twice for the view and the staff was not perturbed with it, in fact they were more than happy to help. The breakfast was my favorite part as you can see the staff smiling, energetic, and having fun while proactively tending to coffee and other requests. Great hotel!

Stayed for 3 nights for a romantic city break in Rome. Very easy to find and central to everything in Rome as you are right beside the metro, and Rome is easy to get around! The reception staff were very nice and helpful with dinner reservations and maps. The room was a bit small but very clean and modern. The bed was so comfortable, the TV had a good range of English channels and the shower was brilliant.We had breakfast one morning and it was only €3 per person which was great value for money as you got coffee, juice and a wide range of pastries, fruit and some hot food. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it was perfect for the few days away! Would definitely recommend

This hotel is really good .good rooms ,breakfast and near metro station (manzoni)just 30 or 40 meters and also near tram just 3 stop from closseu in rome and just 4 station from manzoni to barberini station where you visit central city attractions i sugested this hotel to every one

Close to centre of Rome metro outside and a few restaurants near by good priced bar and restaurant on site rooms comfortable but if on front traffic noise can interrupt a good nights sleep otherwise good value for money

We spent 10 nights here, Breakfast was a breeze and lots of choice for everyone. The metro, Buses and Trams are right outside the door. It couldn't be placed in a better position! I would certainly recommend the 7 day Pass for metro, trams and busses.

The hotel is nothing special but neither is it pricey by Rome standards. It is relatively out of the way but also quiet. We walked to the Borghese Gallery from there though went back by cab. The Colosseum is a short walk as is the Church of San Clemente. The dining room had private dinners both nights we were there but the bar has light fare. The breakfast was typical of what you would expect in a very international hotel. The desk and wait staff were good. No complaints here: the Hotel President is not a bad choice.

We have just returned from a 3 night visit to Rome with another couple staying at the Hotel President. From the outside it is not very attractive but that is where the negative comments end. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms with fresh linen/towels daily and an excellent choice of breakfast for all tastes from fresh fruit/pancakes/breads /cheeses/meats etc. 15 minutes walk from the Colleseum. If you did'nt want to walk very far ,the metro station outside and a tram stop around the corner made getting to all the other major attractions Pantheon,Spanish Steps, Vatican City etc so easy and a day ticket only 7 euros. ,

The entree is sober as well as the bar. Rooms are vry small and noisy, you can hear neighboors making phinecalls. Only positive is staff. Very friendly and helpful. Location is not near centre, but 3 stops by underground.

April 2016 I stayed here with a group. The hotel was easy to get to and within walking distance of many historic sites. It was across the street from the metro which made getting anywhere easy. The rooms were a good European size, clean and an excellent staff who were very. helpful.

Just a few steps away from the subway, 5 stops to get to the Spanish steps. From there a 10 minute walk to the Trevi fountain. There's a great little coffee, sandwich shop located on the corner right next to the subway entrance. The hotel room was very small, had to move the bed to get my suitcase on the floor. It was clean. I opened the window and could hear the church bells, so beautiful. They have a nice bar area to mingle before dinner. Food was pretty good. Stayed four nights, I would stay there again.

This hotel is ten minutes walk from the Colosseum, and has metro, bus and tram stops very close by. An ideal location. The breakfast buffet is substantial and the staff friendly. The bar area is adequate, the prices reasonable and there is food available if you require something more casual than the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside is that the bedroom walls are rather thin, so the person snoring in the room next to mine was hard to ignore, even when wearing ear plugs.

Not good for single rooms,( these should be abolished ) you end up paying a premium for a room with your head right by the door. So so noisy, had a terrible time trying to sleep. A bit of a put off was having polystyrene cups in the room! good selection of tea, coffee herbal tea, but the cups! 4* come on. Felt the hotel was bit far out of the main city area's, did not like to travel alone at night on the Metro ot Tram, and the walk from the hotel to the Colosseum was a bit of a grim area at night ( very dark).

Clean and good sized room with well equipped en-suite and efficient, professional staff. Wonderful breakfast with unobtrusive staff. Well situated with the Metro almost outside and trams and buses just round the corner. Plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance and a good restaurant and bar snacks bar in the hotel. Would stay there again. However it is on the edge of the city centre and one nearby street was pretty run down with semi derelict buildings, beggars and much graffiti. The hotel itself felt safe and secure and we felt perfectly safe when out in the evening.

Very clean and convenient hotel centrally situated. Very good selection for breakfast. However on checking out we were charged 16 euros for a bar bill. We had paid in cash after all meals and drinks there. My partner paid as did not want a dispute to spoil the end of the trip. We noticed that a couple next to us were questioning a bill saying they had paid! Not sure if this was a scam or just incompetence, but was a sour note on what was otherwise a very enjoyable trip.

My friends and I decided to come into Rome a day early. The hotel was able to take us for one night at the last minute..Nice hotel very close to the Colosseum and the Metro. I mention the Metro because you can get anywhere you want to go with ease and a 24 hour ticket is only 7 euro. It is the best way to get around Rome and see all the sites in my opinion. Back to the hotel. There was a small fridge in the room and plenty of space for three girls to relax. The beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets and pillows. Clean and quiet room. Room 433. Check in and Check out was a breeze. Check out the Bistro down the street from the hotel. Lovely restaurant with homemade pasta dishes.

Convenient location for the sights of Rome. The coliseum is in walking distance. The metro also stops just across the road from the hotel and it's cheap. (£1:50 when we stayed). At least two very good welcoming restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.

Have to say this was a very nice hotel and quite affordable for stay in Rome. When we arrived in Rome we opted to take a cab from the train station to the hotel - what a mistake this hotel is right on the subway line and so convenient to get to. Its not much to look at on the outside but inside is quite nice. Nice bar area. Breakfast restaurant. Clean lobby. Staff was very efficient. Check in was great - staff at the desk was very clear gave us very good instructions on our stay in Rome and offered to give us touristic options to sight see the city which was helpful. They were not pushy at all. Breakfast was 3 Euros. I see some travellers complained it was supposed to be part of their package. I dont know the website is not clearly listed but 3 Euros I won't complain. It was a very nice breakfast lots of choices to start the day off great. Room was so clean after staying in Venice earlier on my trip in a very shading looking hotel this was so nice. Comparing it to other hotels i have travelled around the world its much better than a 3 star. Rooms very spacious. Bathroom clean new fixtures very modern. (note I am not a fan of a bidet right near where you hang bath towels but i found that all over Europe). Room had a fridge to keep our items. Closet was huge to place all our luggage. Extra blankets pillows were available. Nice touch various pillows for your sleep preference - firm, soft etc. 2 elevators - i think 5 floors. so if you needed to take the stairs its not too bad. The hotel is on the main street so you will hear cars and traffic in the night but it was fine nothing too loud for us. Tv was good with various channels. The location as i said was very convenient as it was on the subway line. Going site seeing was good - either bus or subway car nothing too more than 1/2 hour mind you this was August so i dont know if its better or worst at a later time. Down the street are several pizza and pasta shops. Quick cheap eats around 5 Euros. An indian convenience store with water and fruit was very helpful. A Japanese buffet was also down the street but i think was very pricey did not try. Hotel had a business centre free wifi in all the rooms. Business centre had a printer so we easily printed tickets and boarding passes which was free. Overall I really liked this hotel and especially for the price. Staff was friendly. Cleaners were good. Only one day our door key did not work but staff was helpful in getting that straightened out. I would recommend this hotel again. Downside There was pool or other entertainment.

We have just spent 4 nights at this hotel which was selected by our tour operator, we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly & we had a warm welcome. The rooms are an average size, very clean with comfy beds. Clean towels & linen which was changed daily. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, but only polystyrene cups to drink from, which I found a bit strange, never known this before, not the best! The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of choice. The hotel has a small bar/restaurant which we found adequate for our evening meals & the prices were reasonable. All in all a pleasant stay.

Perfect location for short stay in Rome and connections to Termini. We checked in very late and were received well at reception and with everything organised which with a young family after travel was much appreciated. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom was clean and tidy. We did not have breakfast due to an early departure although this was provided.

Great location. A few blocks from the Colosseum and just a cross a metro and tramp station in which you can catch a train to anywhere. Staff was great and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The only flaw was the rather small room for a family of 4 but we managed of course.

This hotel is perfect for travelers who want to enjoy the Coliseum and also have easy access to the subway system. This hotel has a spectacular location! Turn the corner and you are on your way to both the Coliseum and the Victor Emmanuel Monument. The rooms are modern, clean and sport lots of marble. The subway station is right outside and gives any traveler easy access to all of Rome's ancient sites!

This is a mixed review in that our experience was both good and bad bearing in mind that this review is on a 4 star hotel not B&B.On arrival we discovered that they had got our reservation wrong in terms of Twin/Double Room despite us having received the correct confirmation in writing before our arrival date..It was suggested that we would be moved to another room the following day.I objected and in fairness adjustments were made within an hour. The toilet did not flush properly and the room safe was not working.Having brought these faults to the attention of the staff,which in fairness were rectified fairly promptly, we then discovered that tea /coffee making facilities included polystyrene cups and a plastic stirrer instead of a spoon. Other faults were the room fridge not working.The noise from the hotel plumbing system was extremely loud and annoying and there is a lack of facilities in the bathroom to place toiletries. Ours ended up on the bathroom floor in our toilet bags. We then went to the bar for a lunchtime snack and were given a plate which had not been washed properly.By this time we were so embarrased by our list of complaints that we didn't bring some of the faults to the attention of staff on the basis that we might be branded as trouble makers. There were plus points as well in that the Breakfasts were very good and the staff very friendly.The hotel was also in a good location for the Metro system into the centre of Rome and within walking distance of some of the ancient ruins. Bearing in mind the 4 star rating we were disappointed with the hotel especially as with a little effort and perhaps better training plus management spending just a little more in upgrading the room facilities our experience could have been so much better.

I spent a night in rome in august in best western , the hotel was a bit hard to find from the termini station , but once we got there the place was very nice and clean. Since we came at 10 , there were no ready rooms and they kept the luggage while we went to visit some places , There's a small elevator which is helpful since you're gonna get your bags up and down urself . Very good for a 4 star hotel . And safe too

Well located hotel near Manzoni Metro station, walking distance to the Coliseum and convenient to get to any tourist destination easily. Helpful and friendly hotel staff. Good restaurant and bar good choice of food and drinks.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Room and toilet somewhat small. Breakfast quite good. What I found to be it's greatest asset was virtually being next to a metro station. Staff were polite and helpful. Lunch and dinner can be obtained at the bar / restaurant until midnight.

We stayed here for one night during our visit to room. The location is ideal, located next to a metro line, it took us about ten minutes to get to the Spanish steps and our return walk from the Colosseum took 20 minutes. I felt the staff weren't as helpful as they could have been during the check in process. When enquiringly about parking (I had messaged through about this upon parking), I was told we would have to look around for blue spots and weren't provided with any other helpful advice I.e we didn't have to pay in the meter post 8pm or that there was a parking garage next door that opened after 6pm. The room itself was dated but comfortable.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay. Starting from the Check in my experience was great. Staff at the front desk is really helpful . Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is really good and price is quite reasonable. Best part about this hotel is its location. Metro station is just outside the hotel . Colosseum is also nearby. Only downside was the lift size which is quite small for a 4 start hotel . Overall its a good hotel and value for money.

The hotel is 5meters from the metro station and 10 from Colosseum and Rome centre. Rooms are large and comfortable with extra space to have the baggages open. Bed and pillows are excellent. The price is really a value for money option to be in a city like Rome. A bit of noise early morning from the street but this is common to all hotels and big cities. Anyway manageable.

Staff very friendly and rooms clean. However they were a little dated and had an unusual, hard floor. The location was just ok. Right beside the Metro but the street in front of and beside hotel was very dirty and smelly.

A great hotel with good decoration, good breakfast, and a good bed. The view is pretty good too. It is also easy to go to any attraction because it is right next to the MEA Manzoni station. It also has a tram station right next to it, and a bus station 3 minutes away. The staff were polite and helpful enough. The breakfast is good for a Best Western hotel. It has a lot of things that make a substantial breakfast.

Traveled with a large group. Check-in and out was quick and painless. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The free Wi-Fi had a strong signal throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good with an outstanding selection. The metro stop was less than a block away. I would definitely stay again.

We arrived to check into our hotel (hotel Milton, BW) which advised us our 2 rooms had been overbooked, and they needed to transfer us to their sister hotel across the road. We were initially upset, but after travelling a very long time to get here, what could we do? Check in was smooth and quick, our room was lovely. Clean and spacious. Bathroom was a generous size and toiletries were provided. We enjoyed a filling breakfast, which service was faultless. A large variety on offer. We checked out the next day back to our original hotel, our bags were transferred while we were out sightseeing. We enjoyed our unexpected stay, from what we saw, we would stay here again for sure.

The President is conveniently located right next to the Manzoni metro station and is just 2 stations away from Roma Termini station and not far from most attractions. Breakfast service was excellent with a large variety - the staff was quick in managing so many guests during peak hours. The Front office staff were also very polite and helpful. The bar had a limited choice of food but it was delicious (we arrived late from Florence one night and didn't want to step out of the hotel so decided to dine in) The room size was a bit disappointing - we had booked a quadruple room but we were given what seemed like a large superior room with 2 extra beds put in and not much room to move around. Also, the room was right next to housekeeping so it did get a bit noisy early in the morning. Overall we had a pleasant stay - would definitely recommend this hotel!

A family of 4 can walk to most of the major sites in Rome from this hotel. We took the metro to the Vatican and some other sites as well. Very handy. Had to get used to the card in the slot to keep the lights on. The breakfast is good but you need to ask for better coffee (i.e. café latte). The front desk is helpful, but not overly friendly. Breakfast is EUR 3 each and the EUR 6 per person per day is kind of crazy, but it seems to be part of the deal.

We were pleasently suprised with this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and modern, as well as being clean. It was great for a good night rest as you could pull down the shutters for absolute sun block out. Breakfast was excellent, there were so many options avilable. The neighbourhood isn't the greatest, I wouldn't wander around after dark on my own but the day is perfectly fine. The hotel is walking distance to The Colleso, about 10mins away. Overall this was a pleasent hotel.

Small room, but prepared to accommodate two teenagers in family room which was helpful. Good wifi, and very decent breakfast included. Helpful front of house staff with booking tours, advice and luggage storage. Bathroom was good. Convenient to tourist attractions.

We stayed at this hotel the last two days of our ten day trip with Go A head Tours on our Amalfi Coast tour. After the Amalfi Coast, we made our way to Rome to this hotel. I had checked all of the hotels we would be staying at before the trip, and all were rated four star hotels; finding a Best Western rated four stars was a surprise, but this hotel did not disappoint. The hotel looked new, and the rooms were nicely appointed. There is a subway station on the block to make getting around easy for the locations the limited subway system of Rome accommodates. There are numerous restaurants nearby. I can't say anything about comparing rates with other hotels since all of our accommodations were arranged by the tour group, but this hotel looked like new, service was good, and I would look at this hotel again if staying in Rome.

Hotel is in a good position. Close to a metro stop. Lots of restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute walk. Room was great, staff very helpful and friendly. We had a room on the street which was very busy and could get quite noisy, but once you closed the outside shutter on the window the room was very quiet and dark, great for sleeping. Breakfast was adequate, reasonable selection of food available. Would stay again.

Good hotel with very rich breakfast and all you need in clean rooms. Just next to the hotel is the metro station Manzoni . Nearby there are nice small restaurants. Shops are also at hand. I would stay there again.

This hotel is located on a main street close to Metro station, which is just outside of it, an tram station which is close by too. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, not too far away from train station, but not too close by also. You wither have to take a taxi or a metro train to reach the hotel from the train station. As it is located on the main street/road, it is not a quiet hotel. You will have disturbances till late in the night from the traffic down there. The hotel is good, clean and comfortable. I had booked a quad room for my family, but i think what they gave me was a standard room by stuffing four beds into a small space, and there was hardly any space to walk around or unpack. I felt cheated for that. The bathroom is descent, and they have a huge wardrobe in the room. There are no eateries in the vicinity of the hotel, and you have to walk at least 10 to 15 minutes to find one.

Stayed here for a week. Good location to visit the city . Staff where very helpful and friendly. When I'm back in Rome I'll stay here again . Food was fine also . Our rooms was very clean . The staff on the front desk really helped us about the best places to visit.

Doesn't look great from the outside, but, very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included and was everything you could think of to eat at breakfast. Drinks were same prices as the local bars - free snacks at the bar. Didn't sleep well the first night because of the big pillows - next day noticed a leaflet on the table from which you can select 5 different types of pillow... slept fine after swapping. All the staff very pleasant - mostly mature men and women who new how to treat guests. Not minimum wage kids like in UK.

Hotel do not have hotel pick up facility that was a problem in case you are coming late night as train as well bus service stops you are dependent on Taxi .Some one advised us to make WHITE TaXI FROM AIRPORT who charged Euro 60 for our family we were having 4 luggage .Hotel is walking from colosseum which is main attraction ,I advise to book ticket in advance online as even if you have reservation you need to stand in line to get the ticket ,take a guided service which is not very expensive ..central station RMA termini is 1.5 km from hotel so in case you like to train for onward journey hotel is at good location.Above all Break fast at EURO 3 AND KIDS ARE free in case you are not booking B&B you can take the same at hotel.i think we have been charged for the kids as well ...

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a singing tour, with our chorus. It is right next to a subway station which mades it very easy to visit the Coliseum/Forum and other attractions. Good restaurants nearby also.

Starting with the good points: -Excellent location, few steps away from Marzoni metro stop. -very good family sized bedroom with large king size bed and 2 single beds -comfortable beds and pillows -great powerful double shower -good value buffet breakfast for 3€ each -close enough to points of interest but not in a central location but still ideal location Not so good: -cleaning of rooms was not to a high standard, lots of dust in our room over 4 days. beds were not made on one occasion and on another fresh towels were just left in the bidet not even hung on the rail -carpets are old,dirty And sticky -there isn't much going on in the area as far as restaurants and shops are concerned Overall I would go back as the hotel represents good value and its location next to metro is ideal

Lovely clean room with excellent air-conditioning... Nice products in the bathroom...10 minute walk to the colostrum.. Lovely continental breakfast, bacon and eggs also available. Take a mug for your morning cuppa. Some issues with the electricity sockets butadiene causes a major problem. I would recommend this hotel android return.

Stayed at this hotel in May and it is in the perfect location for exploring the sights of Rome. The collessium is about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is next door to the metro station with a direct line to take you to stations for trevi fountain, Spanish steps and the vatican. The rooms are a little on the small side but do the trick for what's needed after a day of exploring. The hotel has a little bar area which offers food however if you don't fancy that there are a couple of nice restraunts a few minutes walk from the hotel offering traditional Italian pasta and pizzas.

We stayed here for one night between a cruise and our flight home. Surprisingly kind staff, clean hotel, good breakfast. We had a family room for 4 with a large bed and two twins. The beds were comfortable and there was room to walk around and room for all of our suitcases. Would stay here again when in Rome! Be sure to check out the little vending room around the corner, and the lovely deli and grocery nearby!

excelente localization, near coliseum and termini station. The people who takes care of the hotel are very rude and inefficient, the guy at the morning is useless, the room is good, the shower are very small, good breakfast.

We were placed in this hotel during a tour of Rome and it was switched from a nicer hotel in the city. This was in an industrial area of Roma and when we walked outside on the first day, there was a dog fight in the middle of the street and a man video taping the fight. The dog looked to be killed and the. Shortly after a big truck drove up, there was yelling and it sounded like the dog was run over. It was traumatic. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault, but I wanted to share what we witnessed. When I checked in they placed me in room 101. It was a single and it was probably one of the worst rooms I have ever been in. See photos. I went to the desk and told them o could not stay in this room. They moved me to the 7th floor single with a balcony and it was more updated and cleaner. I was overall not impressed with this hotel, but I did like the Margherita pizza I had in the bar upon check in. The hotel staff was nice and accommodated complaints and made it better. I would not stay here again because it is in need to updating and the location was scary for me.

This centrally located hotel is comfortable and the food and the service are good. Tea and coffee making is provided in the room but the polystyrene cups are an accident waiting to happen when filled with boiling water. Good choices for breakfast but seemed a little disorganised.

The Hotel was good. A bit out of the way but very nice indeed. We were B&B but the breakfast was good. Would recommend the hotel. We were on a 4 night break with Riviera Travel which was very good indeed. Having been before, we went on the bus tour the first morning and to The Forum and Colleseum on the second day but the rest of the time we did our own thing.

However they were good at the basics of whatever they provided during our stay, we found the room to be too small. It was so small that it even restricted movement within the room The best part of the hotel is its location. The hotel gate is located at the entrance to one of the metro gates which provides excellent connectivity to the whole of rome. All the major sight seeing points (except Vatican) are at a walking distance (though a long walk) Do try Italian food at spacio which is at a 10 mins walk from the hotel. Even the gelato next door is not bad though not exceptional

Walk off the Metro and you are steps away from your hotel.It is a short walk to the Coliseum and Roman Forum and via Metro connected to all major tourist sites. A very clean, friendly hotel that seems to cater to groups. They have an excellent breakfast buffet with full menu and cappuccino and coffee machines for your convience. The dinners are also excellent.

I stay for 3 days at President hotel and i enjoy it very much. Very nice breakfast,clean room and very kind and helpful stuff. Big plus that is right next to metro. An other plus the great variety breakfast. ...and very nice "powerful" shower in the room!! Price was good enough. For cons i may say the not so good reception of free wifi signal,little more expensive tham it should be and the internal area room view. For its category and level its totaly recommended by me.

I have stayed at this hotel several years ago and really liked it. I had a group of 18 people at this hotel and selected it again based on its location and amenities. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the reception staff are excellent answering any questions with a good command of English. The hotel is located in an easily accessible area. There is a Metro station right outside the entrance which is extremely convenient, the Termini train station is only 10-15 minutes walk away and the Colosseum is also only a 15-20 minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is reasonably priced, in a great location, modern spacious rooms, excellent choice for breakfast and the staff are frriendly and helpful. Definitely a book with with confidence and would be my choice for a future visit to Rome for a hotel.

For a large hotel as part of a chain this hotel did have a personal touch with friendly staff and quick assistance when requested. The rooms were comfortable, the beds had memory foam and duvets which I prefer. Although the walls were a bit thin there was no real noise disturbance after 11:00 pm. Tie air conditioning was effective. We were on the 7th floor so away from the worst of the traffic noise, which seemed to go on all night and day. It is well situated for the metro but the area around the hotel is not anywhere you would wish to walk around being full of litter and graffiti.

just watch out for the shops nearby for electric sockets. Invariably the shops charge double the rate of the price. Hotel was satisfactory. Buy water bottles from super markets[ in 6 packs around 6 euros for a 6 litre pack] Outside too costly 2 euro for 500 ml

A clean hotel, very busy, pleasant friendly staff (most of them anyway!) Bar food was good and not too pricey, No draught beer!! bottles only and not the best. Breakfast was very good, Hot food was scrambled eggs and bacon, but a good cold selection. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Position of the hotel was a good 15-20 minute walk to the coliseum but there is a tram stop right outside and a Metro line direct to all the sites, I must say that the hotel can be quite noisy at night due to these, but it does quieten down about 1130pm, I would'nt say it was a 4 star hotel, maybe three star, does it matter? your not going to spend all your time sat in the hotel when in Rome!!

its really good hotel but still thy can provide more staff was so good its niyer to metro only think room was not that much nice because I ask them king size bed thy give me 2 single bed together so all night I cant sleep good so was not a good time for me thank you

This hotel in Rome was a substandard hotel. My room was small and the carpet was dirty. My view was of the roof and some mechanical equipment. The door on the first day did not respond to the key card (this was the case for almost all of our group). My sister's room smelled of sewage. We called the desk, they sent someone who poured a solution in a floor drain and said it was “fixed.” It was not “fixed.” We called again, and the person who arrived said to call the desk. Our tour director handed my sister his key and said to trade rooms with him. He told us later that he just slept with the bathroom window open and the door closed. Breakfast was not good.

Expectation - I had planned a visit to Rome during a long weekend and all hotels were pretty expensive. Hence, I was looking for a decent 4 star hotel and not far from the city center. Best Western President Hotel had decent price and the reason for picking this was Best Western brand, decent reviews, 4 star hotel near to the metro station. Location - The hotel's location is quite good. Not exactly in the city center but close to the city center and its situated right on top of the Manzoni metro station. When you get out of the metro station, you are right at the hotel. The Roma Termini railway station (Rome's main train station) is mere 2 stops from the hotel by the metro. Also, the hotel is just 10 min walk to the Basilica di San Giovanni and Colosseum. Also this side of the city was much peaceful. Not a lot of restaurants neaby but I was pretty satisfied by the location. The Hotel - The hotel is nice and clean. Lobby is average, pretty ordinary reception as well. Check-in was smooth, although the guy at the reception didn't provide any information about Rome, places to visit, neither a city map. They did have a map, which I myself took. They have 2 tiny elevators but they were neat and clean. The interior of the hallways were fine too. There was a vending machine next to the elevators for a quick snack or a drink which was cheap. The vending machine accepts bills and coins only, no card. I had booked an economy room, as with rest of the Europe, the room sizes are small, the economy room with a double bed (french bed) was fine in size. A little bigger wouldnt have hurt, the bed covered most of the area in the room although there was enough space to walk around on all 3 sides of the bed. Room was well nicely made and clean. Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. 2 side tables, and a table and wooden chair, 32 inch LCD tv, a fridge beneath it with few items, not a lot, in the mini bar. Mini bar was slightly lesser expensive than what I have seen in other hotels. Maximum 4 euro for the drinks. There were enough shelves in the tv unit as well to place your stuff. Apart from this, a full size cupboard along with a safe. I was easily able to put all my stuff inside. The bathroom was also fine, neat and clean, most Italian hotels have a bidet which I didn't use, and it occupies some space. They did have shampoo, shower gel, soap and body cream. I had no issue with the heater and air-conditioning and it worked fine for me. Now for some negatives of the room - Surprisingly no iron and iron table. There was no bathroom slippers as well although I would expect it in a 5 star than a 4 star hotel. No coffee machine but a kettle was there along with coffee/tea sachets which I did not use. One weird thing is that they don't provide you with glass cups, instead there are plastic disposable cups in the bathroom. I could easily hear if someone was in front of my door and talking, may be the walls are a bit thin and the rooms are not that sound proof. The view from my room window was not really great. All I could see were various apartment and homes of the people. But it was peaceful as my room was facing opposite to the main road where the hotel is situated. Restaurant, Bar and Breakfast - The breakfast was supposed to be included in my booking. So, one day there was no one at the restaurant reception and I had the breakfast. The breakfast was ordinary and typical to a European breakfast, nothing special to rave about. Scrambled eggs, bacon, 3 types of cheese, a few type of sliced cold meat, breads, cornflakes, fruits, croissants, muffin, cake, fruits, rice (which looked seriously stale), and pinto beans (they looked yucky as well). A couple of variety of juice, orange, annanas (pineapple), and a few type of coffee (cappucino was good) and tea. However, next day when I went for breakfast, there was a lady sitting in front of the restaurant and said breakfast was not included in my booking, but since it was only for 3 euros I did not argue, but yes as one another reviewer has said, the hotel staff lies. They do have a bar which I did not use neither I had lunch or dinner there, so I cannot comment on the food. However for a 4 star, they do not have a room service which is surprising and weird. Conclusion - It's a decent hotel which is not very expensive yet has nice and decent rooms and situated at a nice quiet location right above the Manzoni metro station. Definitely not a 4 star and more like a 3 star. They do not have a room service or an iron in rooms. Would I stay there again - may be and may be not if I can find some other hotel with more facilities and a good location at the same price.

I had reserved the hotel based on the positive reviews online and central location for our trip to Rome. Also, being a known brand I thought I knew what to expect, however the staff proved me wrong. Me and my wife checked in late evening on 5/12/2016 for our 4 night stay till 5/16/2016. While checking-in the guy at the front desk told us the breakfast was included. I also requested an adapter, for which I was told there was a cash deposit of 20 euros and could not be paid with a credit card. Given it was late and we were tired, I did not argue and handed a 20 euro bill for the adapter and headed to the room. The room was small but clean and I had no reason to complain. My first surprise was next morning when we headed down for breakfast. There was a lady at the door who asked me for a "breakfast coupon". When I said I did not have one, she replied 3 euros per person. Since it was 3 euros we did not wish to argue and went ahead with the breakfast, giving the benefit of doubt to the guy who checked us in. The best was yet to come. On the day we were checking out I took the adapter back to the front desk expecting to get the 20 euros back. There was a different guy at the front desk who took the adapter and handed me a 10 euro bill. I was surprised and mention that I had paid 20 euros for deposit. He said they always take 10 euros and showed me the hand written note against my room number for 10 euros. For a moment, I thought since it had been 4 days, perhaps I had forgotten and had actually paid 10 euros. I asked my wife and she agreed that we had paid 20 euros. When I asked, the guy at the front desk said he could not do anything since he was not there when we check-in. If you plan to stay a the hotel please get some form of a receipt paying a deposit for anything. Not sure how many of the staff are in on it,but there are definitely some that are running a scam where they take advantage of tourists by pocketing part of the deposit.

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. A breakfast buffet is available for 3 Euros and it is excellent! The Manzoni metro stop is right outside the hotel door, just two stops away from the Rome Termini station. The metro is very easy to use and convenient for many of the tourists sights. The neighborhood is safe and there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby. There is free WI FI and also an internet access area for printing boarding passes. We had a very enjoyable stay and would most certainly return to this hotel.

Nice comfy clean hotel, Typical continental type breakfast on offer, eat as much as you want, they have a restaurant, but, the food is pre prepared and microwaved or grilled by the bar staff, of which there was only one ( serving drinks as well as meals). The metro station ( underground) is literally 20 feet from the main entrance of the hotel, and takes you to the nearest station to most of the attractions, costs 1 euro 50 cents for 100 minutes ( plenty of time to go from any station ), the hotel is only a 15 minute walk ( max) from the colluseum, roman forum and circus maximus. From the colluseum you can get the HOP ON - HOP OFF bus, this goes around in a circle covering all the attraction and sights, they supply FREE HEADPHONES to plug in and the commentary is very accurate, tells you which stops are best for what attraction. you cen get off and on as often as you like for the duration of your ticket, saves a lot of walking.

From hotel to Maznzoni metro station is only.... 10 steps. Maybe rooms don't have a modern forniture but if you want hotel with comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and bathroom it will be good choice, Friendly staff.

I think I was there on a bad few days. Staff in serving areas and rooms great. Reception? rather distant and less keen to help. I went on a guided visit with a highly reputable company but the probl;em of being a single traveller lies firmly with the hotel. Single room available and although I paid £159 for 4 night stay this amunted to a poky little dark room with single bed and not even a rack for my suitcase. As only there 4 nights I did not raise it but ... the room smelt musty when I went initially My window opened to the back of another hotel, I could hear the person next door snoring.and on the final morning I woke up to a very distinct smell of drains in the bathroom.All good about position and breakfast. Bad about their pricing policy for singles. if you have single rooms do not charge more for them because they really are not as nice as your double rooms believe me. Thought british 3 star rather than 4

Hotel is located only a few steps from Metro station Manzoni (only few stops from main Rome sights). Hotel staff is great and very helpful and polite. Rooms are comfortable and large enough. Buffet breakfast was really great with lots of choices (hot or cold). One negative thing about our stay - we had a room overlooking main road so it was too noisy throughout the day and night.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and were satisfied with the experience. We were on a package holiday for sightseeing and this hotel is an excellent base being near (10-15 mins on foot) the colosseum and the forum. It is also near the underground, bus and tram services. The room, which had very comfortable beds, was of a good size as was the bathroom. The breakfast was adequate with a wide choice. There are also a number of good restaurants nearby. Overall the hotel is good value in a very good location.

We stayed at the BW President for 2 nights during a recent trip to Rome and the first thing that came to mind is the sheer convenience of the location as it relates to the public transit options. The Manzoni metro station is literally on the doorstep of the hotel and the tram runs in both North/South and East/West directions accessible from the hotel. We stayed nearby on our first night in the city and decided to inquire about the possibility of an early check-in as we were nearby and much to our surprise they checked us in right then and there several hours before we even expected to be able to had they agreed to the early check-in. We went straight to the room to have a look and our first impressions were positive despite the room being on the front side of the building on a very busy street. For a hotel room in Rome it was quite spacious and very comfortable and it didn't feel cozy or cramped like many spaces in the city. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious enough to use and not feel like you were in a closet. The rate came with breakfast; however it can also be added for a minimal cost which in itself is an excellent value when compared to other properties and the options were plentiful so no complaints there. WiFi was free and relatively fast so another added bonus and the mini fridge in the room was large enough to hold additional bottles of water or whatever else. Overall the property is well worth the extra cost in comparison to smaller, boutique hotels as the pro's definitely outweigh any con's and with only a short walk to the Colosseum its an excellent option for those who don't mind walking or making use of the city transit system!

We stayed at this hotel during our time in Rome. The rooms were very nice, clean and modern. They were small, but so are most other hotel rooms in Europe. The staff was very nice, kind and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful, great selection of items so there was something for everyone. The pastries served at breakfast were to die for! Nice little bar in the lobby and they allowed you to sit in the lobby with your drink and enjoy the evening. Very short walk, about at minutes to the Coliseum and the Forum. Just around the corner from and a short walk to the Holy Steps, which are said to the be steps Christ walked up to meet Pontius Pilate and the Basilica of San Giovanni, which was the home to the pope before the Vatican/St Peters was built and is a stunning and imposing church in it's own right. You must see the inside of this church! The metro is located just outside the hotel on the corner, and it is a quick ride to many other must see sights in Rome. There is also a great pizza place, gelati shop and corner café just steps from the Hotel. And a block away is an amazing local restaurant called, RomAntica, which has amazing pasta and inexpensive, but delicious Proseco! A great place to stay while visiting Rome. Have already recommended it to our friends!

The location is fantastic - the metro is right outside the hotel, which is a relief after walking around Rome all day and you just want to get back to relax. It is 2 stops from the Termini. We flew into Fiumicino then caught the express train (32mins direct) to the Termini then hopped on the metro to Manzoni. A return train ticket is 32 Euros. You can also buy a 72hr metro/bus/tram pass from the machine at 18 Euros which is fantastic. Hotel is nice - I would say a 3 star, nothing luxurious but comfortable enough. We had a very quiet room on the 6th floor. Bathroom is very small and watch out for a sharp-edged towel rail which I kept bumping into and my thighs are now all bruised. There was no soap dish, there is a hairdryer. Beds were very comfortable and towels were very nice. Roasting hot water too and a nice bath. Wifi was very good and is free. Simone at reception is very polite and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Everything you want and more - salami/hams, cheeses, pastries, a selection of breads, fresh fruits, scrambled eggs etc. The coffee and tea from the machine was not very nice, however there are waiters who will bring you a pot of tea or coffee if you ask them. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

This hotel is located very close to the main attractions. Metro,Trams and buses right outside the front of the hotel. Or a short walk to the Colosseum, Pantheon and Roman Forum. Metro can get busy in the rush hour, so wait until 9.30 am.

We're family of 4 (parents with kids of 4 and 13 yo) and we reserved a quadruple room for the pretty long stay (8 nights) in this hotel. To start with the highlights: the location is great (close to Termini, just a few steps from the metro and the tram stations), the staff is welcoming and helpful, the breakfast is fine (although not more than that) and the WiFi is free and fast. The downside is the room. We arrived to the hotel at midnight and were provided with rather small room on the 2nd floor facing the patio. It was very cold in the room, but AC did not work for heating (on their website they state they DO have an air conditioning, but they do not mention they disable it during some seasons) while the only solution suggested by the desk was providing more blankets (and no, they could not assign us with another room at that point since, according to them, the hotel was fully booked). Also in the room the kettle did not work because the electric adapter was missing (one more call to maintenance right upon the entry), no shelves to stock the clothes in the wardrobe (and no option for it - only some shoulder straps inside), broken lock in the bathroom door, leaking shower stall and the worst pillows of any I can recall. The worst thing of all, the next day we realized that the room was also extremely dark as, in fact, located in the "bottom of the well" of surrounding buildings so practically no sunlight inside. Next morning we checked an option of changing the room in the front desk and they agreed to help, but said the move could be done only later in the noon. Well, since we had some plans for our stay in Rome beyond packing/moving/unpacking our belongings and since, after all, we did not plan to have too much time to spend in the room, we gave up and stayed there for 6 more nights until we just could not be staying there anymore so we approached the front desk again and next afternoon they assigned us another room on the 4th floor where we completed our stay. This time the room was much better: bigger, well illuminated and much warmer than before (well, the shower stall leaked either, the lock in the bathroom door was broken again, the pillows were still horrific and we had to call the maintenance right upon the entry to break into the locked safe, but we could live with all of that after our experience with the first room). Now I understand that we could insist on moving the room after staying there a day or two (after all, already on the 2nd day of our stay the front desk agreed to check this option and it was not the hotel's fault we choose not to invest our vacation time into our "quality of life" improvement), but I think that the hotel which considers itself a member of Best Western chain had no option to put the customer (which just in case also the member of Best Western Rewards loyalty club) arriving with family for such a long stay to this position right from the beginning. Also I think it is a shame for any hotel advertising itself as a 4-star hotel to offer the kind of room we got in the beginning to their customers (and again, especially to the loyal ones) Bottom line: the great location helped us to explore the Rome as planned but we're rather disappointed with our stay in this hotel.

Very good hotel , near the metro station Manzoni, two stops from Roma Termini. Very convenient if you travel from the airport Ciampino. Big rooms , good breakfast , also early breakfast. Polite and helpful staff.
